Gabi stopped herself from making out with Jodevil. He told her that he wanted her and wasn’t holding back. He knew she wanted him too. He wanted to know if she wanted him too. She said she found it impossible to resist him. She gave in and kissed him. Jodevil took off his shirt and unzipped her dress. Jake walked in on them and demanded to know what was going on. Gabi pulled up her dress. Jake told her the devil morphed into him to make her think he betrayed her. Gabi couldn’t believe he used the devil as an excuse. Jodevil admitted that Belle was possessed by the devil and morphed into him. She wanted to talk to Jake alone. Jake yelled at her for not trusting him. She apologized to him and asked him to forgive her. He told her that she got what she wanted. She wanted to be in charge of DiMera Enterprises. He walked away from her. Shawn told Belle that she morphed into Jake. He also told her that she morphed into EJ to assault Abby. Belle wanted to know what she did. He reminded her that the devil was responsible for what happened. He told her what she did. She couldn’t believe how many people she hurt. She didn’t think she could live with herself if something happened to EJ while he was in prison. She checked her jacket for 666 marks and saw they were gone. She decided to visit EJ.

Chad told Kate that no one would believe the devil framed EJ. She said they had to convince Belle that she did it. Clyde tried to leave the visitor’s room when EJ stopped him. EJ remembered that he was the one who had him shot. Clyde said he didn’t know what he meant. EJ knew it was him. Clyde admitted it and that made EJ madder. Clyde said he was alive so he had no reason to be mad. EJ told him that he lost everything that mattered to him when he shot him. Clyde didn’t feel sorry for him. He wanted to know what he planned on doing about it. EJ planned on telling the parole board about his role in his shooting. Clyde warned him that he would be there to ruin his life if his parole is denied. Chad went to see Belle, but Shawn said she went to see EJ. Chad wanted her to know that he didn’t blame her for anything. Kate called and asked for a copy of the report on Philip’s case. She said she hired a private investigator. Shawn left to take care of it. Chad waited for Belle. He downloaded EJ’s fake paper trail to Belle’s laptop. Chad went back to the DiMera mansion and gave the drive to Kate. She was going to destroy it and wait for Belle to find it. She wanted her to find it and admit to framing EJ. Belle went to see EJ. She told him that she was the reason he was in prison. He was confused by what she was saying. She told him how the devil morphed into him to kiss Abby in front of Chad. EJ didn’t blame Chad for wanting him to go to prison. She promised she would get him out of prison. She got an alert on her phone that Clyde made parole.

Kate went to Gabi’s office to find out that she was being fired. Kate told her that she needed a friend at the company since she alienated everyone. Gabi told her that she had Johnny. Kate wondered how long it would be before he turned on her. Jodevil told Chad that Belle turned into the devil and turned into EJ to kiss Abby. Chad was upset by that news. Jodevil walked out of the room. Chad couldn’t believe he sent his brother to prison for something he didn’t do. Kate saw Chad and told him that she was fired. He told her that it was the devil and not EJ kissing his wife. He wanted to make things right with EJ. He wanted to confess to the planted evidence. He was willing to do it even if it meant he would go to prison too. Kate wanted to pin it on the devil. Shawn told Belle about her exorcism. She couldn’t believe she was possessed since Christmas. She found it hard to believe that she was plotting to steal Ben and Ciara’s baby. He remembered that he kept the report that contained the sex of Ben and Ciara’s baby. He was confused that the devil didn’t want that information. He took the envelope and found out it was open. Belle was surprised. Shawn knew it wasn’t her fault. He said it was the devil and not her. He left to tell Ciara.

Jodevil thought about the evidence he planted at Belle’s house to make her look guilty. He looked in the envelope and found out the sex of Ben and Ciara’s baby. He was happy about what he saw. Jake went to Ben and Ciara’s place to see them. They talked to him about Susan’s theory about the devil being in Belle and not Johnny. Jake thought Johnny’s behavior was strange enough that he was the devil. He left to get to the bottom of it. Jake went to see Belle. He asked her about the day he had a meeting with Maggie. He said if she could prove that she was somewhere else at the time, it would prove that she wasn’t the one who morphed into him. She looked for her calendar in her pocketbook and found Maggie’s phone. He told her that he got a message from Maggie making it look like he was conspiring against Gabi. Belle cried and admitted it was her. He knew she was upset but he said it would help his relationship with Gabi. Jake brought up the petition to steal Gabi’s shares. Belle opened her laptop and saw that she had a petition. She assumed she forged his signature. He was happy because that would clear him with Gabi. He told her that it wasn’t her fault. He left the house. Jodevil went to Gabi’s office. She told him that she fired Kate. She wanted to know if she could trust him. He assured her that he wouldn’t stab her in the back. She wasn’t sure if she believed that. She wanted to know what he really wanted. He said he didn’t want anything but her. He thought they worked well together and believed they should move things to the next level. She wanted to know what he meant by that. Susan went to see EJ in prison. She told him that Belle was possessed. She thought his conviction could be overturned. He didn’t think that would do him any favors. Clyde walked in the room. She said he was a bad man. Clyde used the phone. She warned EJ to stay away from him. She thought Clyde was hiding something.

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Chad thought about Will and Sonny’s suggestion that he seduce Leo. He wanted to know if they were crazy. They just wanted him to seduce Leo long enough so Craig would catch them together. Chad didn’t see why he should help Craig realize he had a bad boyfriend. Will wanted Chad to do the plan for Sonny. He said it took long for him to get over what Sonny did to him. Sonny didn’t like how he was doing the same thing to someone else. Chad thought Sonny was out for revenge and not to help Craig. Chad agreed because his family was big on getting revenge on people. Leo insulted Nancy while he was trying to convince Craig to take Kayla’s job. Craig told him not to insult his wife. Leo apologized and said that Nancy was making him look bad in New York. He thought they could make a new life in Salem. Craig wasn’t interested in a life in Salem. He didn’t want to go back to being a social climber. Craig wondered why Leo wanted him to be chief of staff so badly. Leo told him about all the things that happened while Kayla was chief of staff. Leo said the hospital needed him. Craig started to consider going after the job. Kayla was on the phone defending Marlena when Abby showed up. She told Abby the board wanted to fire Marlena. Abby said she was there because of Sarah. She felt guilty because she left out the syringe for Kristen to use on her. Kayla said it was Kristen’s fault. Kayla wasn’t sure if she was losing her job. She thought someone else was going to take her job. Abby got a call from Chad.

Abby arrived at the Kiriakis mansion so Sonny and Will told her about the plan to trap Leo. She wasn’t thrilled about it at first, but she agreed to go along with it. They called the hotel and found out Leo and Craig weren’t at the hotel. Chad and Abby went to the hotel and staged a fight. They noticed Leo was eavesdropping on them. She pretended to be mad that Chad only lit up when he was around Will, Sonny and Leo. Leo was shocked when he heard that. Leo approached them so Chad introduced them. Chad stared at Leo until he walked away. Chad and Abby realized their plan worked. John told Marlena that he wanted her to leave the room so he could perform an exorcism on Belle. He wanted to make sure the devil didn’t want to jump into anyone else. He wanted to do it by himself. Marlena said that the devil could jump inside of him too. He showed her the medal he was wearing and assured her that he was safe. She refused to leave his side. Belle stirred and called out Johnny’s name. Jodevil called Shawn and they rushed into the room. Shawn leaned to Belle as Jodevil touched her leg. She opened her eyes and they were yellow. Shawn backed up from her. Belldevil sat up on the bed. She was still tied so she couldn’t move. The devil said they turned into EJ and forced the kiss on Abby. Johnny went after her for turning his family against each other. Shawn and John pulled him off of her. John said this was why he didn’t want anyone in the room with him. Jodevil wanted Marlena and Shawn to hold John’s medal while he performed the exorcism. John held the medal over Belle’s body. Shawn and Marlena put their hands on top of her body. Jodevil watched the exorcism outside of the room. Belle opened her eyes and called out to Shawn. She wanted to know what happened. Marlena assured her that she would be okay. She said the devil was gone forever. Shawn held Belle in his arms. Jodevil continued to listen outside of the room.

Days of Our Lives Update

Update written by Joseph

Gwen talks to Jack on the phone about how everyone is worried about Sarah and how awful what she went through was. Gwen acknowledges that it complicates things for her but she’s hanging in there. Xander then comes home. Gwen hangs up so Xander asks if everything is okay. Gwen explains that Jack was just concerned for her since Sarah is back. Gwen admits things have been a struggle. Gwen adds that Jack said he would be here for their wedding, assuming that Xander still wants to get married.

Abigail goes to the hospital and sees Maggie. Maggie hugs her and says it’s so good to see her. Abigail asks if there’s any changes with Sarah. Maggie says no and she’s just waiting for Kayla to go over her test results. Abigail is sorry for everything they are going through as she feels like it’s all her fault.

Sarah tries asking the nurse to untie her but she says it’s against hospital policy. Sarah complains that she’s desperate to get a hold of her fiancée. Sarah asks the nurse to just dial the phone and hold it for her. The nurse agrees to help and asks what the number is. Sarah tries to remember the phone number.

At the DiMera Mansion, Anna finds Tony having a drink in the living room. Anna says she’s been waiting for him in the dining room where Harold made his favorite. Tony responds that he’s not hungry. Anna guesses he’s still angry about the Sarah thing and paying her back. Tony confirms that he is still angry because Anna isn’t sorry at all.

Nicole visits Rafe in the interrogation room. Nicole mentions just checking in with Abe and that Eli is still in a coma. Rafe worries about Lani and if Eli is going to come out of the coma. Rafe argues that Eli and Lani don’t deserve this. Nicole agrees but notes that bad things often happen to good people and a lot of bad people get away with too much. Rafe assumes this means there’s no news on Ava. Nicole remarks that it’s like she just vanished.

Ava sits in a hotel room watching the news on TV about Rafe’s trial, finding out that the verdict is coming soon. Ava remarks that it better be guilty.

Gwen asks Xander again if he still wants to marry her. Xander tells her that she knows how much he loves her. Gwen points out that’s not an answer. Xander apologizes but admits that right now he doesn’t have an answer as he doesn’t see how he can make plans for the future until he knows that Sarah will be okay. Gwen asks what happens if Sarah gets better. Xander says he doesn’t know. Xander swears he’s not trying to hurt Gwen but he doesn’t have a clear answer for her right now. Xander tells Gwen that he will be back later. Gwen questions where he’s going. Xander says he’s going to the hospital and exits the room.

Maggie assures Abigail that what happened to Sarah wasn’t her fault. Abigail argues that if she hadn’t convinced Gabi to dig up Dr. Rolf’s drug, the syringe would never have been in the room for Kristen to use on Sarah. Maggie points out that if it wasn’t for Abigail, she would still believe that Sarah willingly left Salem instead of being held prisoner. Abigail doesn’t know if she can take credit for rescuing Sarah since she was just knocked out and taken to the same island.

Anna questions Tony for wanting her to apologize for how she reacted to Sarah’s verbal assault. Tony argues that Sarah has been drugged. Anna questions that excusing her behavior. Tony asks what excuses Anna’s. The home phone rings so Anna answers it. Sarah tells Anna that it won’t be long before she’s home where she belongs and Anna is on the street. Anna then tells Tony that the call is for him and hands him the phone.

Rafe questions how somebody just walks out of the police department and vanishes. Rafe says unless they find out who helped Ava or Ava herself, there’s no way they can prove that she set him up which is what she wants. Rafe guesses Ava will get her revenge.

Ava calls Gwen and is excited to tell her about the verdict in Rafe’s trial coming in soon. Ava declares that Rafe’s relationship with Nicole will go up in smoke and Rafe will spend several years behind bars so he will finally get what he deserves.

Maggie continues to encourage Abigail about finding Sarah and says she will be eternally grateful to her for that. Kayla comes over and greets them, noting she’s glad Maggie is there because she has Sarah’s test results and it’s not good news.

Tony answers the phone and talks to Sarah as if she is Renee. Sarah says he has to come get her and complains about being tied to the bed. She says she’s going crazy without him and she just wants to be in his arms as Xander walks in to the room.

Nicole tells Rafe that he cannot give up as they don’t even know what the jury will decide. Rafe argues that the testimonies were pretty convincing and Melinda made the most of it. Nicole says that was partly her fault for posing as a reporter to try to get the con man to admit he was lying. Rafe understands she was just trying to help. Nicole feels all she did was fire up Melinda to go after him even harder and she’s so sorry about that. Rafe says all he cares about is that Nicole has been there for him every step of the way and he’s so grateful for that. Melinda walks in and announces the verdict is in.

Ava tells Gwen that it is very satisfying that her plan worked brilliantly. Gwen sarcastically congratulates Ava for screwing over her boyfriend. Ava questions Gwen’s bad mood and asks if Sarah came home and run straight to Xander’s arms. Gwen states that it wasn’t quite the reunion Xander expected.

The nurse hangs up the phone and rushes out of the room as Xander enters while Sarah complains that Tony didn’t get a chance to respond to her request. Sarah says Tony is probably on his way to rescue her and asks what Xander wants. Xander asks how she’s doing. Sarah complains about being tied up. Xander says he hates seeing her like that, so Sarah suggests that he untie her.

Kayla shows Maggie and Abigail the recent brain scan of Sarah and how the drug affected her long term memory. Maggie asks if they can reverse the damage, pointing out that Abigail recovered. Kayla says she compared these results to Abigail’s and the damage to Sarah’s brain is far more extensive. Abigail asks if it’s because of how the drug was administered. Kayla says that’s part of it since Abigail got it through a drink while Sarah was injected with a full syringe of a larger dose so the damage to her brain is far more severe. Maggie asks if she’s saying that Sarah will never recover. Kayla thinks it’s too early to make any definitive prognosis or predict Sarah’s recovery. Kayla says they are just trying to come up with an effective treatment. Kayla thinks their best option is to transfer Sarah to Bayview which worries Maggie. Abigail asks if there’s nothing more they can do here. Kayla says they are working on it and waiting for a report from a specialist but keeping her here against her will is not doing her any good. Maggie doesn’t understand why Sarah would be better off in an institution. Kayla points out that Maggie has power of attorney over Sarah’s medical decisions, so what happens next is really up to her and Maggie gets to decide where Sarah is treated. Maggie thinks the best medicine would be for her to take Sarah home.

Xander doesn’t think untying Sarah right now is a good idea even though he hates it. Sarah argues that it means Xander doesn’t give a damn about her. Maggie walks in and asks what Xander is doing here. Xander says he just wanted to see how “Renee” is doing. Maggie informs Xander that Kayla has Sarah’s test results and she’s given permission for her to share the information with Xander. Xander thanks her and says he’s so sorry for what she’s going through. Xander then exits the room. Sarah tells Maggie that she can follow him out. Maggie knows Sarah is angry at her and says she’s sorry but she’s being released. Maggie announces she came here to take her home. Sarah questions going to Maggie’s home and says no because the only place she’s going when she gets out, is to Tony and if she cannot be with him, she will lose her mind.

Anna asks Tony what “Renee” wanted. Tony says she wanted him to get her out of the hospital. Anna remarks that Tony has been acting like her lap dog so he might as well be her getaway driver too. Anna asks if Tony agreed to do it. Tony says she hung up before he could respond. Anna suggests they can go eat now but Tony says not so fast as he wants Anna to apologize first.

Gwen informs Ava that Sarah thinks she is a woman name Renee DuMonde and thinks Xander is someone named Alex. Ava asks if this isn’t a good thing. Gwen says she would think so but Xander won’t let it go and only talks about Sarah as he just went to see her at the hospital where he thinks they can bring her back to reality since Abigail recovered from that drug, so they believe Sarah will too. Ava encourages that Xander loves Gwen and is engaged to her. Gwen points out that Xander was also engaged to Sarah once and Abigail told her the only reason they are together is because Xander thought he lost Sarah. Gwen worries about what becomes of her if Sarah does snap out of it. Ava encourages her and then sees the verdict is in so she hangs up to watch the TV.

Rafe and Nicole arrive at the court. Rafe declares that this is the moment of truth. Melinda approaches and asks what they are waiting for as she heads inside. Nicole tells Rafe that whatever happens, she is always on his side. Rafe and Nicole then enter the court room.

Xander doesn’t get it since Abigail made a full recovery and asks if Kayla is just giving up on Sarah. Kayla explains that Sarah’s damager was more significant so the treatment will be significantly longer. Xander points out that Abigail was out for months. Kayla reveals that with Sarah, it could take years. Xander wonders if it could take forever and Sarah may never be herself again.

Anna argues that Sarah just called and made outrageous insults at her and Tony still expects an apology from her. Maggie arrives and apologizes for interrupting. Tony asks about Sarah. Maggie says the test results came back and the news is not good. Anna worries that they are going to be stuck forever with the reincarnation of Renee DuMonde. Anna apologizes to Maggie for being insensitive since what has happened to Sarah is tragic and she can’t imagine how worried Maggie must be. Anna thought Sarah was a lovely young woman. Tony tells her not to talk about her like she’s in the past when she’s still alive. Anna just wants Maggie to understand that it’s not Sarah that she hates, but Renee. Tony asks Maggie what’s going on. Maggie repeats that it’s not good as the damage to Sarah’s brain is severe and Kayla is working on a treatment plan, but in the meantime, Sarah is being discharged. Anna calls that a relief since Maggie must be looking forward to having her home. Maggie reveals that Sarah refuses to come home with her because she considers this her home and she only wants to be here with Tony. Anna says no and calls it terribly sad that Sarah doesn’t want to come home with her own mother but she and Tony can’t possibly entertain this request. Tony tells Anna not to speak for him. Anna questions if he thinks this is a good idea. Maggie says there is no need to argue as she wasn’t going to ask if Sarah could stay here as she knows it’s not a viable solution. Anna thanks her and asks why she did come by then. Maggie knows it’s also not a great way to solve this problem, but she is desperate and it’s all she could come up with for now. Maggie tells them to feel free to say no and tell her if it’s an outrageous request. Tony asks what she came up with. Maggie reveals she hoped that Tony would move in with them at the Kiriakis Mansion instead.

Abigail brings Kayla a water. Xander argues that Abigail has done enough and blames her syringe for what happened to Sarah. Abigail tells him that she’s so sorry for everything that has happened to Sarah, but she never would’ve known about the drug if Gwen hadn’t used it on her. Xander warns her not to blame Gwen and blames Abigail’s twisted revenge scheme. Abigail brings up that Dr. Rolf created the drug, so maybe he could create an antidote.

Anna questions Maggie wanting Tony to live with her. Maggie knows it’s unorthodox but Sarah is so fixated on him, so being in his presence is the only thing that keeps him calm. Anna questions using her husband as a therapy animal. Maggie tells Anna that she’s sorry as she knows it would affect her but points out that they could still be together a lot of the time as Tony would only have to be with them during the evenings. Maggie cries that the only alternative is that she would have to commit Sarah and she can’t do that to her daughter. Tony agrees that she’s been through enough already. Maggie knows what she’s asking but assures it would just be for a short time until the doctors can figure out a proper treatment. Maggie feels it’s the only way that Sarah would agree to come home with her. Maggie cries that she doesn’t know what else to do and she’s so worried about Sarah. Maggie pleads with Tony to help her daughter.

Rafe and Nicole excitedly exit the court room. Rafe can’t believe it. Nicole encourages that the jury could tell he was a good guy and now he’s a free man. Rafe is happy to be going home as they hug. Melinda comes over and brings up Nicole’s witness tampering, threatening to still charge her with it. Nicole tells her to go ahead and try since all the witnesses were lying. Melinda warns her that being smug has a way of coming back and biting her. Melinda walks away as Rafe and Nicole rejoice.

Ava is shocked to find out that Rafe is not guilty. Ava screams that this can’t be happening and begins throwing things across her hotel room.

Maggie returns to the hospital. Sarah reminds her that she’s not going anywhere with her and she only wants to go home to Tony. Maggie tells her that she’s not taking her to the DiMera Mansion so Sarah yells at her to get out. Maggie informs Sarah that she spoke to Tony and he’s agreed to live with them at the Kiriakis Mansion.

Tony packs his bags and tells Anna that he knows this is difficult. Anna calls it infuriating, horrifying, and mind boggling. Tony argues that he’s trying to help a woman, who’s daughter survived a terrible trauma and she recently lost another daughter. Tony yells that he’s doing this for Maggie and it’s only going to be temporary. Anna argues that sending Sarah off to an institution would also only be temporary where there are doctors trained to deal with mental illness. Tony brings up that Kayla said the institution couldn’t take care of Sarah since her condition is rare and complicated. Anna calls it not fair to ask Tony to do this. Anna says it’s too much. Tony asks Anna what if this was Carrie, not knowing that Anna was her mother and believing she was a woman who died 40 years ago. Tony asks if Anna wouldn’t move heaven and earth just to help her daughter. Tony encourages Anna to put herself in Maggie’s place for him.

Kayla tells Abigail that she had been so busy that she hadn’t thought about that. Abigail knows it might not be a great idea since they are talking about Dr. Rolf and he might not be interested in helping them find an antidote for someone he doesn’t give a damn about. Kayla asks if she can think of anyone who could get through to him. Abigail brings up that Dr. Rolf had a soft spot for Chad, but Chad has his hands full because he’s getting ready to seduce Leo Stark.

Xander returns home and tells Gwen that Kayla can’t tell how long it will take Sarah to recover or if she ever will. Gwen calls that tragic and sad. Xander says there might be a bright side as Abigail did come up with a possible solution; Dr. Rolf himself, since he invented the drug so maybe he could come up with the antidote to counteract it. Gwen supposes that is possible. Xander declares he won’t wait to find out and he’s going to prison to talk to him. Xander hoped that Gwen would come with him.

Rafe and Nicole return home. Rafe talks on the phone to Gabi and tells her that seeing Arianna off is more important and they will celebrate the moment she gets back. Nicole and Rafe have champagne to celebrate. Rafe brings up the last time they were in the kitchen when he was arrested and he asked what she thought about starting a relationship and she never really answered him. Nicole says there was a lot going on. Rafe points out that now here they are back in the kitchen, so he’s going to ask her again, what she thinks about them. Nicole puts down their glasses of champagne and kisses Rafe until Ava appears and says “how adorable”.

Recap written by Christine

Jack was at home. He flashed back to Allie suggesting they have coffee if he was ever in LA in the future. Phyllis wanted to be brutally honest with Jack now that they were alone. Jack would expect nothing less. Phyllis knew Traci had good intentions, but Phyllis said sometimes the Miss Manner’s approach wasn’t the best one, and you had to throw caution to the wind. Phyllis saw the pain in Allie’s eyes, and she thought that if Jack wanted to help his granddaughter, he should reach out. Jack agreed that it was up to him to make the first move, not Allie. Phyllis thought they should take the Jabot jet back to LA today. Jack wanted more than anything to bring Allie into the family, but he didn’t want to scare her off. Phyllis said they could concoct a story to get Allie to Genoa City – they could tell Allie that Jack found some of Keemo’s belongings. Jack didn’t want build a relationship with Allie on a lie. He thought he’d just follow Allie’s lead and take her up on the offer to have coffee in LA. Jabot had business in California, so he could go to LA. He said he’d call Allie and tell her he’d be in LA for a day or two and see if she was willing to meet. Phyllis thought that was a solid plan.

Allie met with Taylor Jensen, the Diane Jenkins lookalike who was buying Keemo’s house. Allie wanted to know why Taylor wanted to meet in person. Taylor said she just wanted to meet the previous owner and find out why someone would want to sell such a nice home. Allie explained that she had an apartment near her school, and her dad, who used to live there, passed away. Taylor asked if Allie had other family. Just then, Allie got a phone call from Jack. “Jack. Hi,” Allie said. Allie didn’t notice the way Taylor perked up when she heard Jack’s name. Jack said he had some business in California and he asked if they could get dinner. Allie wasn’t sure she was ready to meet so soon. He said he’d be out in a day or two, so that would give her time to think about it. The call ended.

Taylor asked Allie if everything was okay. Allie said it was fine – just some family issues. Taylor could relate – she’d been hurt many times, but it was important to have family. “Take it from someone who has survived more than you can imagine, you have less time than you think to make amends, and regret is a hard thing to live with once it’s too late to connect,” Taylor stated. Taylor said family was the most precious thing we had in this world. She wished she had more relatives she could turn to. Taylor was sorry for being so open, like they were old friends. Allie found it kind of comforting to hear this, because Taylor seemed like she understood. Taylor was no stranger to loss, and losing a parent was one of the hardest blows life dealt. Taylor suggested that Allie should meet with this Jack, and lean on her family. Allie asked why Taylor thought Jack was her relative. Taylor noted that Allie said the call was about family issues. Allie said things were complicated. Taylor said all families were, but if this family member was someone Allie could lean on, wasn’t that what she needed?

Phyllis and Jack were at Society, and he thought it was obvious she coerced him to come here as a distraction. Phyllis changed topics and said Summer told her Harrison knew more Italian than Summer. Jack was proud of his little grandson. Phyllis added that Summer found someone to replace Phyllis at Marchetti. Jack said no one could replace Phyllis. He asked if she regretted not taking the job. She was glad she stayed in Genoa City, because if she’d left, she wouldn’t have been able to go on the trip with him to LA. He was glad she went with him. He told her again how grateful he was, and she repeated that she didn’t need thanks.

Back in LA, Allie told Taylor about some quirks of the house, like a wonky faucet. Allie was going to show Taylor how to work it, but Taylor said she needed a moment alone to respond to a text. Taylor was revealed to be the anonymous texter. She sent Jack a response. “Doing what I can to help. I think Allie might be more receptive soon.”

Jack and Phyllis were back at the hotel. He’d read the latest text, and Phyllis was on edge because she didn’t know why the texter was hellbent on staying anonymous. Jack wanted Phyllis to take it easy. He saw the text as a step in the right direction. Phyllis was suspicious of the texter. She didn’t understand why this person had a vested interest in helping Jack. Jack wasn’t going to question the texer’s motives – he wouldn’t know he had a granddaughter if this man or woman didn’t text him and tell him to come to California. Phyllis could tell from the tone of the texts that it was a woman. Jack didn’t want to pry and tick the texter off, because then she might stop helping him with Allie. Phyllis thought the texter was in LA. She said she could put a tracker on all the phone towers in the city. Jack did not want to expose the texter’s identity. His concern was Allie.

Allie and Taylor were back in the living room after looking at the faucet. Allie asked when Taylor would move in. Taylor wasn’t sure. She had a few family issues of her own to deal with, and that would determine her next move. Allie was curious. Taylor stated that this house was kind of a safety net for her. Taylor told Allie not to ever underestimate the importance of having a place to land. Taylor offered Allie some kind parting words and encouraged her to reach out to the people who cared about her. Allie said thanks and left Taylor in her new home. On the porch, Allie called Jack and accepted his invitation to coffee. Taylor was listening at the door, and she looked happy.

Chelsea and Nate were at the penthouse she just moved out of. He was glad to hear she was starting a new fashion line. She felt a little uncomfortable being back here, but she understood why he wanted to meet in this location. He was considering moving back in. Her other buyer fell through, so she was appreciated Nate being willing to buy an apartment from a former poisoner. Nate said Chelsea owned up to what she did, and Rey didn’t hold it against her, so Nate wouldn’t either, even though Rey was a former patient. Chelsea said Nate was pretty special. Devon was walking through, and he popped in because he heard Nate. Chelsea left. Nate explained that his house had a lot of problems, and the contractor was constantly there doing repairs. So he was thinking of moving. He knew Devon had been upset he’d sold the penthouse, which he’d inherited from Neil. Devon was over that. He asked if the move had anything to do with that bad judgment call Nate mentioned earlier. Nate said there could be consequences down the road, but he had to move forward with his life. Devon was there if Nate wanted to talk. Nate didn’t want to drag Devon into it. Nate asked if there was really a place for him at this merged company.

When Billy got home, Lily excitedly said she had news, and she wanted him to guess it. He guessed a bunch of silly ideas, and she groaned that he wasn’t trying. He just wanted to know the news so he could kiss her and celebrate. She said the first episode of his podcast got overwhelmingly good feedback. He thought she and Traci were the only ones who listened. Lily clarified that a lot of people downloaded it. She showed him the download data, and he was surprised. She said clearly his honesty about trying to get over the pain of losing his daughter struck a chord. There were a few negative reviews, but that was to be expected. He hoped the podcast could help someone. Lily thought Billy should capitalize on this and post episode 2. he wasn’t sure he had anything else to say.

Billy said a lot of his pent up pain went away after the first podcast. He asked what else he had to say. Lily thought Billy had so much more to share – he kept her fascinated. She said the had many more stories to share – the good, the bad, lessons learned. She told him not to give up so easily. She thought that the podcast had a positive effect on him – he was in a better mood, more focused at work, and more energized. She’d love more of this good thing. She kissed him. Devon and Nate showed up.

Devon wanted to talk about how the merger would work and about where Nate would fit into it. Lily thought she had a plan they could all agree on. Lily said that Chancellor Winters needed a two fold focus. The entertainment and media division would stay under Hamilton Winters. Chancellor would cover merchandise, commercial real estate like hotels, and venues. Devon approved. He thought it was a corporate match made in heaven. Billy said Lily was the most brilliant CEO he knew. Lily said Devon could handle the entertainment side, and she’d handle merchandise and hospitality divisions. She said they’d interact and share resources, but maintain autonomy. Devon loved that, but he said he’d be open to her opinions. Devon asked how Jill and the rest of the board would feel about this. Lily already got Jill’s approval, and Jill thought he board would support it too. Lily asked Nate how he felt about being part of all of this. He was ready for a clean slate, but he asked where he’d fit in this. “Want to be my COO?,” Devon asked. Nate thought Devon had too much faith in his business skills. Devon said Nate studied business and ran the entire surgical department, and he was already on the board at Hamilton Winters. Nate wasn’t sure about this, but Devon and Lily both thought Nate would do great.

Elena was at Society, on the phone with a contractor about the house, and it wasn’t going well. She got a text from Nate saying he had a surprise. Elena met Nate at Chelsea’s old penthouse, and he told her that, if she wanted to, they could move back into this building. He said they had great neighbors, and it’d be easy to do family dinners with Devon and Amanda across the hall. Nate asked if Elena didn’t want to move in. He understood if it was too awkward for her to live across the hall from the apartment she once shared with Devon. Elena said she’d been working on rebuilding her friendships with Devon and Amanda. Nate said he spoke to Devon, who said he’d love to be neighbors. Nate said Elena needed to feel comfortable in her own home, so if shse didn’t like it, they wouldn’t live here. She loved the idea of living here, putting the construction nightmare behind them, and get on with living their lives together. Elena asked Nate if he really wanted this or if it had something to do with what was going on. He was determined to move past the Ashland situation, and this was part of it. He wanted a clean slate, and this could be what he needed to hit the reset button. It felt right to reclaim an inheritance he never should’ve given up in the first place. She asked what the second surprise was, and he told her he was the COO.

Lily and Billy were home alone. She was excited things were coming together. All the family she had in Genoa City would be working together. She knew Billy had taken that for granted and rebelled against it, because he’d always had Jabot in his life. This meant a lot for her. Billy said if his siblings were easy to get along with, like Devon and Nate, he may never have left the business. She said that her family had difficult moments. Billy said her family handled things like adults, while his family was petty and stubborn. Lily said she’d ask Billy to draw on his Jabot experience when the disagreements turned personal. He said he’d always be on her side, because he loved her, and because, after working together, he realized she was always right. She thanked him for having so much faith in her. They kissed.

Devon went home and looked at Neil’s picture. Devon had a feeling Neil had a big hand in making this merger happen. He said the family was finally coming together the way Neil always dreamed.

Days of Our Lives Update

Update written by Joseph

Jake calls Gabi from the Kiriakis Mansion and wonders why she’s not picking up.

Johnny and Gabi kiss at her desk at DiMera Enterprises while her phone rings from Jake calling, until Gabi stops and says she can’t do this.

Belle tells Shawn that it’s like she’s waking up from a horrible nightmare. Shawn asks what Jake told her. Belle says they kind of figured out that the Devil morphed in to him to cause trouble for he and Gabi. Belle guesses by Shawn’s look that there is more and asks what else she did. Shawn reveals that Jake wasn’t the only person she morphed in to, but also EJ, to get Chad to think he assaulted Abigail.

Chad questions Kate wanting him to blame the Devil for framing EJ and asks who would believe that. Kate says no one, unless they hear a confession from the one person who is perfectly positioned to ensure that EJ was found guilty, his defense attorney, Belle Brady.

Clyde questions what EJ thinks he did. EJ says it’s what he knows he did because he just remembered that Clyde is the son of a bitch who had him shot.

Kate says she’s no lawyer, but Belle had the means and opportunity to frame EJ. Chad questions what Belle’s motive would be for her client to go to prison. Kate blames the Devil and they will have no problem convincing EJ and Belle that she is the one who set it up.

Belle asks Shawn what she did when she was EJ. Shawn clarifies that it wasn’t her, it was the Devil. Belle asks again what she did. Shawn says it was forcing a kiss on Abigail before Chad walked in during EJ’s trial. Belle realizes that’s why Chad was so sure it happened and EJ had no idea what he was talking about. Belle asks what the Devil wanted. Shawn guesses he wanted to make sure Chad would send EJ to prison.

Clyde warns EJ about throwing around baseless accusations. EJ tells him not to deny what they both know it’s true. Clyde claims not to know what he’s talking about. EJ says he’s been having little flashes for weeks about that day in the woods, but he couldn’t see who it was, until now when the whole memory came flooding back. EJ states that Clyde was there and his man pulled the trigger. Clyde admits that he was hoping EJ would never remember, but says what’s done is done. Clyde blames his guy Miguel for being trigger happy, but he’s now dead. Clyde jokes that good help is hard to find these days. Clyde tells EJ that he’s sorry for the misunderstanding in the park. EJ argues that he was shot and left for dead. Clyde points out that he’s not dead as Dr. Rolf brought him back, so he sees no harm, no foul. EJ shouts that he lost everything in his life and Clyde is the one who took it from him.

Jake leaves a voicemail for Gabi, saying he needs to talk to her as he knows she didn’t believe him that he didn’t betray her but he’s got proof now and it’s a long story so he’s coming to the office so they can talk face to face.

Johnny asks Gabi if he did something wrong. Gabi says he didn’t, so Johnny doesn’t see why this can’t happen. Gabi says it just can’t. Johnny calls their kiss incredible and says he can see it affected her too. Gabi brings up Kate giving her reasons to not trust him. Johnny says maybe he’s the one who shouldn’t trust her which Gabi questions. Johnny talks about their plan and says Gabi made him think she wanted him in the bedroom so that she could have her way in the board room. Gabi denies it but Johnny says that’s in her nature. Johnny talks about Gabi becoming successful by leveraging all of her assets. Gabi claims she’s not like that. Johnny asks if she wasn’t playing him just now when she kissed him. Gabi says maybe. Johnny says when he kissed her back, it wasn’t part of the game or a plan. Johnny says business is not what he feels around her. Johnny tells Gabi that he wants her and he can see that she wants him too. Johnny asks Gabi if she’s going to take what she wants.

Allie and Chanel sit together in the town square. Chanel reveals to Allie that she is dropping her lawsuit against Johnny because he agreed to recast their roles in his movie. Chanel is ready to put the whole thing behind her with the marriage, movie, and the devil. Allie is sorry that Johnny hurt her. Chanel thanks her and says she doesn’t want to focus on him right now. Chanel holds Allie’s hand as Allie asks if they are really doing this. Chanel says she hopes so as she and Allie begin kissing until Ben and Ciara walk up.

Gabi asks Johnny what it is about him as part of her finds it almost impossible to resist him. Gabi talks about not giving in to temptation because she usually gets burned. Gabi suggests they just stick to business. Johnny argues that she doesn’t want to leave, she wants to stay with him. Gabi agrees that she always goes after what she wants as they kiss.

Chad tells Kate that it’s not right since Belle already feels terrible for what she did. Kate argues that it was all on the Devil because he wanted EJ in prison and used Chad to make it happen.

Belle cries that she hurt so many people that she cares about. Shawn encourages that everyone knows she wasn’t in control. Belle complains that EJ hired her to save his life and instead, she’s the reason he is behind bars. Belle can’t help but feel responsible. Belle doesn’t think she could live with herself if something happened to EJ in prison.

EJ tells Clyde that he took years from his life. EJ says Kristen and Dr. Rolf brought him back but he could barely move and his recovery was slow. Clyde acknowledges that he had it rough. EJ complains that in that time, his children grew up and his wife grew distant because he couldn’t be the husband she needed so he pushed her away in to the arms of another man, all because of the bullet that Clyde’s henchman put in to him. EJ declares that Clyde took everything good in his life and left nothing but misery. Clyde mocks him having his life ruined and tells him to join the club. Clyde then asks EJ what he’s going to do about it.

Allie introduces Chanel to Ben and Ciara. Allie and Chanel explain that since Allie and Tripp broke up and Chanel and Johnny are getting divorced, they are both single and have always been attracted to each other so they are seeing where it goes. Ciara says as long as she’s happy. Chanel says they all want the same thing then. Allie asks if they know the gender of their baby yet. Ciara says not yet and reveals they were wondering if she could answer that question for them.

Belle and Shawn examine Belle’s coat and confirm there are no marks on it. Belle decides she’s going to the prison to tell EJ what happened. Shawn questions doing that now instead of waiting until tomorrow. Belle says she won’t be able to sleep and she is responsible for what she does now. Belle declares that she put her client in prison, so she’s going to do everything she can to get him out.

EJ questions Clyde’s parole hearing being moved up and how he sounded so confident about getting out. EJ wonders how the board would feel after he tells them about his shooting. Clyde argues that EJ wouldn’t do that and warns against him ratting him out. EJ assures that he wants to do and he has 2,705 reasons why as that’s the number of days since he took that bullet. EJ talks about each day thinking of what he would do if he ever met the bastard from the park and now he has that chance. Clyde warns him to think twice about ratting him out to the parole board because if EJ costs him his chance at freedom then he”ll be right back here with him in their cell in a bad mood. EJ asks if that’s a threat. Clyde calls it a fact and argues that he apologized to him which is not something he usually does. Clyde advises EJ to accept his apology for his health and leave the past dead and buried. Clyde then exits the room. EJ declares that the past is not dead and buried as for him, it’s still very much alive.

Chad tells Kate that they both know Lucas kidnapped Sami, not EJ. Kate argues that what matters is that Chad has three choices, he can throw Lucas under the bus, he can take the fall himself, or he could pin it all on the Devil but it’s his call.

Johnny and Gabi continue kissing in the office and begin to undress until Jake walks in and asks what the hell this is.

Chad goes to see Shawn and says he came to see how Belle is doing now that she’s free from the Devil. Shawn says she’s still trying to process it all but she just went to prison to visit EJ.

Belle enters the prison to visit EJ and says she needs to talk to him. EJ asks if she’s alright as he’s worried about her since Susan told him everything. EJ asks if it’s true that she was possessed by the Devil. Belle confirms that she was and says she is also the reason he is stuck here in prison.

Ciara and Ben explain that they had their sonogram envelope sealed and decided to wait, so they gave it to Shawn so they wouldn’t be tempted but Shawn gave it back after Belle got possessed. Chanel mentions seeing Belle possessed at the DiMera Mansion and it was intense. Ciara says Belle is okay now but while the Devil was in her, it took a peek at the envelope, so it’s no longer sealed. Allie doesn’t understand why the Devil would care. Ben admits they don’t know why but the Devil wanted to take their baby. Chanel calls that so scary. Ciara says the Devil is gone now and hopefully for good this time…

Gabi questions what Jake is doing here. Jake argues that they broke up for five minutes and she’s already doing it with someone else. Gabi complains that Jake stabbed her in the back. Jake realizes she didn’t get his message where he said he had proof that he didn’t do any of that stuff. Gabi insists that Jake stabbed her in the back but Jake explains that it wasn’t him that she heard talking to Maggie, it was the Devil which she questions. Jake tells Gabi that Satan stole Maggie’s phone to text him, drew up the documents to make it look like he stole her DiMera shares, and made the deal with Maggie. Gabi says she heard him. Jake explains that the Devil morphed in to him so that she would overhear the conversation and think that he betrayed her. Gabi argues that the Devil left Marlena at Christmas. Jake responds that now he’s in somebody else. Johnny watches on with a smile.

Allie asks Ciara if they want them to tell them the sex of their baby. Ciara says not yet. Ben suggests having a gender reveal party and asks Allie and Chanel to make them the cake, which they’d love to do. Ben says they just want to be surprised like everybody else. Chanel calls it so exciting. Allie says they will make sure nobody else knows but them what the gender is.

Ciara asks Jake who the Devil went in to. Johnny interrupts and explains that it was Belle and that she knocked him over the head and tried to kill Marlena. Gabi asks how long this was going on. Johnny guesses the Devil jumped in to her on Christmas at Marlena’s exorcism. Johnny claims that he had no idea she was doing any of this to Jake. Jake argues that it didn’t stop him from taking advantage of the situation. Johnny accuses Jake of doing the same and says he knows Jake and Gabi were using him for his shares, but he’s willing to forgive and forget. Johnny remarks that they were just starting to kiss and make up when Jake walked in. Jake goes after Johnny but Gabi separates them and asks Johnny to give her and Jake two minutes alone. Johnny tells Gabi that she knows where to find him when she needs him as he then exits the room. Gabi questions Jake about this being all Belle. Jake confirms that Maggie’s phone was in Belle’s bag and the Stefan document was on her laptop, so he didn’t betray her and never would but it didn’t take her very long to betray him.

Belle tells EJ that he put his faith in her to defend him and she convinced him not to run, but she failed him. EJ understands that she was possessed by the Devil, so it wasn’t her fault. Belle says she is the reason that his trial fell apart. EJ argues that Chad was the one who lied on the stand. Belle explains that he only did that because of her which EJ questions. Belle guesses Susan didn’t tell him everything. Belle brings up Chad and Abigail swearing that EJ kissed Abigail at the court house and now she knows it wasn’t him, because it was her.

Chad tells Shawn that Johnny told him everything so he knows it was Belle, not EJ, that kissed Abigail. Shawn talks about Belle not remembering any of it. Chad can’t imagine what she’s going through. Shawn says she knows it wasn’t her fault but she’s still dealing with the guilt. Chad assures that he doesn’t blame her for anything. Shawn gets a call from Kate, who asks if he has any updates on Philip. Shawn says he doesn’t. Kate knows it’s been designated a cold case and claims that she and Victor hired a private detective to search for him. Kate asks Shawn to send over a copy of Philip’s police report. Shawn agrees to do so when he gets back to the station. Kate knows he has a lot going on with Belle, but asks if he could do that now. Shawn agrees to do it ASAP. Kate thanks him as he wishes her luck and hangs up. Shawn tells Chad that he has to get back to the station. Chad asks if he can wait here for Belle because he wants to tell her how he feels in person. Shawn says that’s no problem and exits the house. Chad then opens up Belle’s laptop.

Belle tells EJ that she doesn’t remember any of this so she can only assume that the Devil sensed Chad was having a change of heart about testifying against him. Belle doesn’t know how to explain it but somehow the Devil morphed in to EJ and then kissed Abigail before Chad walked in on it. EJ understands why Chad would want him locked up then.

Kate talks to Chad on the phone as Chad plugs in the flash drive to Belle’s computer so that it will automatically upload the paper trail that Lucas put on EJ’s computer, so it will look like the file was created there. Chad can’t believe that he’s planting evidence on a computer to frame somebody for planting evidence on a computer and says it still feels wrong. Chad finishes the upload as Kate gets Shawn’s e-mail of the police report on Philip. Kate warns Chad that Shawn will probably be coming back home now so Chad needs to get out of there before anybody realizes why he really stuck around. Chad then hangs up and hurries out.

Jake accuses Gabi of being about to have sex with Johnny before he walked in. Gabi tries to explain but Jake shouts that she thought wrong as he didn’t do any of that stuff. Jake yells that they were partners in everything. Gabi says she believes him now but she was just upset when she heard him talking to Maggie. Jake questions why she didn’t confront him to give them a chance. Gabi says it’s just what she does when she thinks someone is hurting her. Gabi agrees that she should’ve trusted him. Gabi asks if there is any way that he can forgive her.

Ben and Ciara return home. Ben never thought he’d be this excited to cut in to a cake. Ciara asks what Ben thinks the gender is. Ben doesn’t care as his life is already perfect. They kiss until they are interrupted by Ben’s father Clyde showing up at their door, surprising them.

Allie tells Chanel that it’s so exciting to know if her cousin is having a boy or a girl. Allie asks if she should open it. Chanel questions doing it now. Allie goes ahead and looks. Chanel asks if it’s a boy or a girl. Allie jokes that they don’t both need to know so she will just bake the cake when she’s not around. Chanel insists on wanting to know and not wanting secrets between them. Allie keeps the envelope from her as they play around until Johnny appears and remarks that they make the sweetest couple.

Shawn returns home and finds Chad is gone, so he guesses he couldn’t stay.

Chad returns to the DiMera Mansion and gives Kate the flash drive back. Kate says she will destroy it and pretend it never existed. Chad asks if she’s sure that Belle will confess when she finds out it’s on the computer. Kate knows Belle will be horrified to find out what she did while possessed but she will do the right thing. Chad declares that it won’t be long then until EJ is free.

Belle talks to EJ about his appeal. EJ doubts the court will be swayed by the argument that his attorney was possessed by the Devil. Belle says they can at least make the attempt, so she will file his appeal as soon as she gets home. EJ thanks her and questions if Belle was possessed the entire time that she was representing him which means it wasn’t her saying she believed in him. Belle assures that was her because she remembers all of that. EJ asks what that means. Belle says all she knows is that she needs to get him out of here and she will. Belle then gets a text that Clyde just made parole.

Ben questions if Clyde escaped from prison again. Clyde reveals that he didn’t have to this time as he made parole on the condition that he has a roof over his head and is living with a responsible person. Clyde figured who could be more responsible than the soon to be parents of his baby grandchild. Clyde asks if they are having a boy or a girl.

Johnny asks if Allie and Chanel are together now. Chanel asks so what if they are. Johnny agrees that they all have what they want and brings up Chanel dropping the lawsuit. Chanel says that TR already recasted their parts. Johnny says it’s a shame as she would’ve been great. Allie argues that it’s better this way for everyone. Johnny looks at the envelope in Allie’s hand and thinks back to the Devil opening it. Johnny declares that he has much more important things to worry about, so he tells them to have fun and walks away.

Jake asks what this means for their relationship, even if he could forgive Gabi. Gabi blames the Devil while Jake complains that it was so easy for the Devil to get Gabi to turn against him and tear them apart which made him realize they weren’t as strong as they thought. Jake argues that Gabi got exactly what she wanted, CEO of DiMera Enterprises, and nothing else matters to her. Jake then walks out of the office.

Recap written by Christine

Billy walked into Crimson Lights and overheard Traci ordering all of Jack’s favorites. He teased her about spoiling their brother, and she noted that Billy never minded when she was spoiling him. Billy mentioned that he was going to visit Jack later, and Traci was glad because Jack was dying to talk to Billy about LA. Billy asked what was going on. Traci said it was Jack’s story to tell, but he’d found some intriguing information about Keemo’s life, and she hoped it would help Jack heal. Traci heard the first episode of Billy’s podcast, and she found it very compelling. He wondered if she was just saying this because she was biased. She admitted she was biased, but she still thought it was moving, and brave and straight from the heart. He said it wasn’t easy to put it out there, but it felt good to get a positive response, especially from someone he admired so much. He gave her half the credit because she told him about meditation. She heard him say that in the podcast. He realized she really was listening. She said he’d been reading her books for her for years, so the least she could do was return the favor. Meditation helped Billy relax and let the feelings bubble to the surface; it felt good, even if Traci was the only one listening.

Phyllis visited Jack at his place. She asked if he’d heard from the texter. He hadn’t. Phyllis thought it was strange that the texter said they were going to see what they could do, then they didn’t say anything else. She thought he seemed to be handling it well, but he clarified that he was stressed and preoccupied by this. Jack surmised that the texter was connected to Allie, or they had the means to reach out to her. Phyllis thought the text implied more than that – it implied that this person was going to get Allie to accept Jack as a grandfather. Jack thought Phyllis was reading a lot into the text. Jack tracked down the contact information for Mai, Keemo’s half sister, and asked if she was sending the texts. It wasn’t her. Mai was living in Saigon, and she didn’t talk to Allie often.

Phyllis thought it was weird that the texter wanted to stay anonymous. Jack asked if Phyllis thought it was a mistake letting the texter serve as an intermediary between him and Allie. Phyllis said there was nothing Jack could do now, because the texter was already doing that. Jack said he could reach out to Allie himself, but he didn’t want to be pushy. He’d understand if Allie was leery of him. Phyllis said Jack was a good kind man, and this was the best thing to ever happen to Allie. Billy and Traci arrived. Traci said she didn’t realize Phyllis would be there. Jack explained that Phyllis was helping him figure out how to approach Allie, and Billy asked who that was.

Billy thought it was incredible that Jack had a granddaughter. He asked when she was coming to visit the Abbotts. Jack said the ball was in her court. Billy was confused Jack was being so hands-off. Phyllis said that it sounded like Allie wasn’t close to her mom, so she was alone in the world. Jack didn’t want to make the same mistake he made with Keemo. He realized now that he pushed too hard when Keemo was still grieving for his mom, and the relationship never recovered. Billy said that was a different situation. He thought that, if Phyllis was right, Allie could use support, and it’d be a mistake not to reach out. Jack looked at Phyllis. She encouraged him to contact Allie. Traci thought Jack was wise to be cautious and give Allie time to sort things out. Billy said Allie needed support, and no one was more supportive than Jack. Traci agreed with that but she said Jack was grieving too. Traci also thought Jack wanted to reach out to Allie partially to learn more about Keemo. Jack said that was true. Phyllis thought Allie needed someone to talk to Keemo about, so she could keep his spirit alive. Jack said that if Allie wanted that, she could contact him. He didn’t think it was fair to pressure Allie into making him feel better when she was still in so much pain. Traci told Jack that he could reach out to Allie next week, or next month, but if he pushed too hard now, and it backfired, he wouldn’t be able to fix it. Billy said none of this would matter if the mystery texter convinced Allie to reach out to Jack. Phyllis didn’t think they should rely on the kindness of strangers. Jack said maybe he had to hope for the best, and maybe one day he’d get to thank this person, whoever it was.

Allie was at Keemo’s house with a real estate agent, Tanya. Allie was glad Tanya already found a buyer for the house – one willing to pay more than the asking price. Allie spent most of her life in this house, and it was hard to say goodbye. Tanya understood, but she said Allie was lucky because this was a cash offer, so it’d be uncomplicated. The buyer had one condition – she insisted on meeting Allie. Tanya stepped outside to get some paperwork. Allie tearfully told Keemo that this house was home to her – she felt safe here. However, now she knew that it wasn’t the house that made her feel safe and loved, it was Keemo. The place didn’t feel the same without him in it. “Without you, I don’t really have a home anymore.”

Allie asked Keemo if she’d have one-sided conversations with him for the rest of her life, or if this was a stage of grief that she’d move past. She kind of regretted coming to the house. She didn’t want to remember their house this way. She wanted to remember it the way it was before. Tanya returned, and Allie said she had a thing to do, and she needed to do. Tanya reminded Allie that the buyer wanted to meet, and she was already outside. The buyer walked in, and she introduced herself to Allie as Taylor Jensen. However, the lady looked exactly like the supposedly deceased Diane Jenkins.

Ashland ran into Nate at Society. He called Nate a friend and got a cold stare in return. Ashland hoped he and Nate could repair their relationship after the truth came out. Nate said he and Ashland were never friends – Ashland just used Nate while conning Victoria and her family. Ashland said that wasn’t true. Nate said it seemed that Ashland didn’t take his advice to come clean. Ashland said he was framed, and he was going to use his resources to find out who was responsible and make them pay. Nate revealed that he’d already taken the evidence to the Newmans. Ashland was mad that Nate didn’t warn him in advance. Nate countered that Ashland hadn’t been upfront with him. Nate said the last thing he wanted to do was help Ashland get away with this. Ashland denied trying to get away with anything. Nate didn’t want to hear anything else from Ashland. Elena walked in. It made Nate sick that Ashland used him to give this scam more credibility. Elena asked what was going on. Ashland said it was a misunderstanding. Elena said it was an elaborate scheme, and she was disgusted with Ashland’s behavior. Ashland had somewhere to be. He left.

Elena had never seen Nate so angry. He was angry with Ashland and with himself. Elena didn’t think Nate should feel bad about believing Ashland was sick. Nate said Billy saw through Ashland. Before the wedding, Billy told them that Victoria was making a mistake. Elena said Billy also hired a team of investigative reporters to look into Ashland’s past, so he had more information than she and Nate did. Nate said the article Billy published on Ashland should’ve been a clue, but they dismissed it because the source recanted. Nate said he should’ve been more skeptical. Elena said that what mattered was that Nate did the right thing when it counted. He thought she was uncomfortable with him looking into Ashland’s medial records. Elena conceded that she had qualms with Nate’s methods, but she said he took a stance when he found the truth. She thought most people in Nate’s position would’ve covered for Ashland to protect themselves, but Nate exposed Ashland to the Newmans. Nate said Ashland clearly thought he could buy Nate off with flattery, donations to the hospital and a job offer. Nate felt insulted. Elena said Ashland was more wrong about Nate than Nate was about Ashland.

Elena put a positive spin on things and said Nate discovered the truth before he quit his job and signed a contract with Ashland. Nate said Ashland could come after him. Elena thought that the Newmans would have Nate’s back, and she added that he had a job waiting for him with Lily and Devon. Nate recalled Victor saying he’d look out for Nate. He felt lucky, and the more he thought about it, the less he was concerned for himself – the person he was worried for the most was Victoria. Elena wasn’t sure how Victoria would trust anyone ever again after learning the person she thought was her soulmate was deceiving her. Nate revealed that when he first came to town, Victoria was recovering from a physically abusive relationship. He said letting Ashland into her heart was a leap of faith, and now this. Elena didn’t blame Victoria for thinking Ashland adored her. Elena had been moved by Ashland’s vows in Tuscany. Elena was disgusted by Ashland, but she did wonder if he had real feelings for Victoria. Nate said that anyone who could lie to Victoria like that, knowing her history, was incapable of love.

At Newman Locke, Victoria felt ambushed when Victor and her brothers joined her and her Nikki. She said this was obviously a coordinated attack on her marriage. Nick said there was new information Victoria wanted to know. Victoria felt like everyone wanted to browbeat her into seeing things her way. “To hell with all of you!,” she yelled as she strode toward the door. Victor insisted Victoria listen to what they had to say. Victoria reminded Victor that she was not a child. He apologized for his harsh tone, and he said they were all here to support and help her through this challenge. He said she was a strong woman. She agreed, and she said she was strong enough to cut them out of her life. Nikki was sure Victoria didn’t mean that. Victoria said it was a last resort, but that seemed to be the only way to make it clear that she wouldn’t be bullied. Adam told Victoria she was being unfair to her parents. She told him to shut up. She added that she couldn’t remember him even remotely supporting her. Adam said they all had a vested interest in this, and they wanted to handle it privately. Victoria asked if Adam was threatening to take this to the press and publicly smear her husband. Victor told Victoria that they were being polite with her, so he asked her to watch her tone. He said Ashland lied to them all and took advantage of their compassion and their big hearts. Victoria accused Victor of trying to get control of the company. Nick asked if Victoria thought Victor would really put her through this just to take control of the company. Victoria thought that made more sense than their assertion that Ashland didn’t love her and never did.

Nikki clarified that they didn’t say Ashland didn’t love Victoria. Victoria felt that they were saying that, and she also thought they were saying she was too much of a dimwit to see Ashland was using her. Nikki denied that they were questioning Victoria’s intelligence. Victoria said this conversation was disrespectful. Victoria asked how they could say that Victor wouldn’t ever intentionally break her heart, when he had her arrested on her wedding day. Victor said that was ancient history, and he added that he was right about Billy, and she knew it. Nick asked if Victoria thought he had an ulterior motive. Victoria didn’t think Nick did, but she said he’d been upfront about disliking Ashland from the start. She said all of them had a reason to want Ashland out of the picture. Nikki said she had no reason to want Ashland gone.

Nikki said she was Victoria’s biggest ally, personally and professionally. She helped plan the wedding and had been very supportive of Victoria and Ashland. Victoria remembered. Nikki had been so thrilled to see Victoria happy and in love. Nikki held her breath when Ashland had to go in for tests, because she’d been praying Victoria and Ashland would have more time together. Victoria acknowledged Nikki had always supported her and Ashland. Victoria said that Victor convinced Nikki that Ashland had deceived Victoria. Nikki said the evidence against Ashland was overwhelming. Victoria dismissed the shaky video of a doctor with an outlandish story, and the bank statements as circumstantial at best. Nick pointed out that Michael had disappeared. Victoria thought that was awful, but it had nothing to do with Ashland. Victor said they had evidence beyond a shadow of a doubt, not from some obscure doctor in Peru, but from someone they all trusted. Nick said he went to Nate for help, and Nate, who’d wanted to trust his friend, looked at Ashland’s medical records.

Victor revealed that Nate didn’t see any cancer on Ashland’s scans. Victoria said Nate just missed the cancer, since he wasn’t an oncologist. She pointed out that Ashland got chemotherapy for months. Nick said Nate looked into that too, and there was no record of Ashland getting chemotherapy. Victoria burst out laughing and said everyone else was out of their mind. She drove Ashland to the hospital herself. Nikki pointed out that Victoria never went into the hospital with Ashland. Victoria kept making excuses – maybe someone hacked the hospital records. Victoria said she’d find answers on her own without all of them. She said she and Ashland were leaving for Tuscany today, and she’d run the company on her own without any of them.

Victoria rushed toward the door, and Adam got in front of her and said she wasn’t going anywhere. Victoria said she’d heard them out, and she heard what Nate said (she was also disgusted they’d dragged Nate into this). She said they were trying to drive a wedge between Ashalnd and everyone who cared about him, but it wasn’t going to work. Adam could relate to Victoria, because last year, he was deceived by someone he loved, who was also faking a medical condition. Victoria scoffed about comparing her husband to Chelsea, the con artist. She said Ashland was a billionaire who built a company from the ground up, while Chelsea had been conning people her whole life. Nick added that Ashland had been lying about his identity his entire adult life, and he built his fortune on a fraudulent inheritance. Victoria still wasn’t on board with the comparison.

Adam said he never could’ve believed Chelsea would do that to him, but when he looked at all the angles, he realized there was only one person who could be framing him for poisoning Rey. Adam had felt guilty for even thinking Chelsea did it, but one day, she slipped up, and he realized she was playing him. Adam said that one day that would happen to Victoria, if she went back to Ashland, because not even the best con artist could keep up the charade every second of every day. Ashland walked in, and Victoria told him she was just leaving. Victor thought Victoria had wanted to give Ashland a chance to explain himself. She said she and Ashland were going to handle this in private. Nikki asked if Victoria thought they wouldn’t be fair, or if she was worried Ashland wouldn’t have a good explanation. Victoria told Ashland about the scans.

Ashland chided Victoria’s family for trying to break up her marriage, and hurting her. Victor asked if Ashland had an explanation for what Nate found. Ashland said it didn’t matter what he said, because Victor didn’t want to believe him. “I want to believe you,” Victoria said. Ashland told Victoria that her family had Nate rattled. Ashland didn’t think it mattered what he said today, because the Newmans would just come up with another attack, and another, and another, as long as he and Victoria were together. “I can’t keep fighting endlessly, and you can’t turn your back on your family. I wish it was enough for you to know that I love you with all my heart. Because your love means everything to me. You have changed my life,” Ashland said. He pointed to Victoria’s family and said this was never going to work, so he was done trying. He left. Nikki went to Victoria and hugged her. “Now I know that it’s true,” Victoria said. She began to hyperventilate and say that Ashland was lying. Victoria sobbed on Nikki’s shoulder.

Update written by Joseph

Kate goes to see Gabi in the DiMera Enterprises office. Kate mentions Will taking Arianna back to Arizona soon. Kate says she has an important meeting so she doesn’t have much time and asks Gabi what this is about. Gabi responds that it won’t take long and then tells Kate that she’s fired.

Jake goes to Ben and Ciara’s apartment to ask if Susan confirmed Johnny is possessed. They inform Jake that there was an exorcism and that Marlena and John were finally able to get rid of the Devil for good. Jake asks if they were right that the Devil was in Johnny. Ben reveals they were wrong as the Devil was in Belle.

Shawn checks on Belle at home. Belle mentions having a headache but not knowing why. Shawn asks what she remembers about last night. Belle recalls him taking her to the car and putting her to bed. Belle asks what her parents were doing there and if something happened. Shawn reveals that John performed an exorcism. Belle asks if Marlena was possessed again but Shawn says this time it wasn’t Marlena, it was Belle.

Johnny enters the living room of the DiMera Mansion and asks Chad if he has a second. Chad asks if he wants to apologize and say he knows now that Gabi was using him to get him booted from DiMera. Johnny responds that it’s not about Gabi, but about EJ. Chad asks what about him. Johnny brings up Chad seeing EJ kissing Abigail in the witness room. Johnny reveals to Chad that it turns out that wasn’t EJ.

Susan visits EJ in prison. Susan hugs him and says she misses him so much. Susan says it breaks her heart that he’s in here when he didn’t do a thing. EJ says she didn’t have to come. Susan responds that she did because she has wonderful news. Susan declares that he won’t have to stay much longer because she is here to set him free as she has a plan. EJ hopes she doesn’t plan to break him out. Susan assures her plan is legit. Susan says they are going to get his conviction overturned and blames his attorney. EJ says Belle is excellent but he failed her advice. Susan responds that Belle may be a fine lawyer, but the Devil sure isn’t.

Shawn explains to Belle that her head hurts because Johnny had to knock her out and then she was sedated and tied to a bed until John got back to remove Satan from her body. Belle questions this starting at Marlena’s exorcism and if she has been possessed since Christmas. Shawn says he had no idea but the Devil said something about keeping a low profile until he had finished his work. Shawn worries that the Devil was waiting for Ciara to give birth. Belle can’t believe that she had been plotting to steal Ciara and Ben’s baby without even knowing it.

Ben tells Jake that it turned out that Belle was the one who was possessed. Jake says it doesn’t make sense since they were convinced it was Johnny. Ben talks about Susan not feeling bad vibes from Johnny. Jake says he sure did. Jake knows Susan has been there for them, but insists that Susan is wrong on this. Jake is convinced that the Devil was in Johnny and working to tear him apart from the woman he loves.

Kate laughs at Gabi and says she can’t fire her. Gabi says she is dead serious and she just did. Gabi calls Kate a disloyal bitch and says she can’t have someone working under her, who she can’t trust. Kate says they can discuss this over lunch but Gabi tells Kate that she’s done. Gabi orders Kate to pack up her stuff and get the hell out. Kate agrees to leave but warns that if she walks out, Gabi is screwed. Gabi says she’ll be fine. Kate tells her that to be successful, Gabi needs allies and right now there is no one here that she can count on since Chad hates her, EJ is in prison, and she totally blew it with Jake. Kate tells Gabi that she is all alone. Gabi points out that she has Johnny. Kate says that Johnny ousted his uncle, blew up his sister’s engagement, and dumped his wife at their wedding reception, so she asks how long until Johnny turns on Gabi.

Chad questions Johnny telling him that it wasn’t EJ kissing Abigail, but Belle possessed by the Devil. Johnny claims Belle has been possessed since Christmas when Eric exorcised Marlena. Johnny says John did the exorcism this time and got rid of the Devil for good, but before that, Belle confessed what she did to Abigail. Chad questions why Belle would morph in to EJ so he could see him make a play for his wife. Johnny claims he asked Satan himself and he said it was to rip apart the family and turn brother against brother. Johnny knows EJ has done some bad things, including kidnapping Sami, but he did not force himself on Abigail. Johnny says he just thought Chad might want to know that.

Susan tells EJ about the Devil possessing Belle. Susan says John and Marlena are taking very good care of her now after the exorcism. EJ asks if she’s sure it was a success. Susan insists that the Devil is back in Hell where he belongs and Belle will be just fine.

Belle can’t believe she has been plotting to steal Ben and Ciara’s baby. Shawn remembers Ben and Ciara giving him an envelope with the sonogram containing the baby’s gender to hold on to so they could be surprised. Shawn points out that if the Devil was after their baby, he’d want to know what’s in the envelope. Shawn shows Belle where he had the envelope and finds that it has been opened.

Jake talks to Ben and Ciara about all these bizarre things started happening that benefitted Johnny and messed with he and Gabi. Jake brings up the meeting he supposedly had with Maggie where Gabi overheard him saying he was using her or the documents that he supposedly signed, trying to steal Gabi’s shares, or the text messages that Maggie supposedly sent him about working behind Gabi’s back. Jake asks how he and Gabi could be so happy one minute and then just done the next. Jake says when they told him that Johnny could be possessed, it all started making sense. Jake declares that it’s the only thing that makes sense as it had to be Johnny.

Susan wants EJ to argue for another trial because his attorney was possessed by the Devil. EJ argues that it would never work and would be seen as a stunt. Susan feels there has to be something that someone could do to clear his name.

Chad looks to the portrait of Stefano and says he sent EJ to prison for something he thought EJ did to Abigail but it wasn’t him. Chad then calls Kate and says he needs to see her as soon as possible. Kate walks in and says she’s right there, guessing he heard the news that Gabi fired her but Chad says he hadn’t. Kate says she would’ve quit after two more days there anyway. Chad says that Gabi and Johnny are going to run the company in to the ground and calls it a joke. Chad then tells Kate that she should sit down.

Devil Johnny returns to his bedroom and talks about how Chad must be feeling so guilty now because he told him that the person he saw kissing Abigail wasn’t EJ, but Belle. The Devil remarks that he’s already convinced half these idiots that Belle has been wreaking havoc this whole time and not Johnny, so it should be a breeze to get the rest of them to buy it too. The Devil flashes back to planting evidence to make Belle look devilish and then revealing he had the sonogram envelope and found out what Ben and Ciara were having.

Belle tells Shawn that she must have opened the envelope but swears that she does not remember doing that. Shawn understands it wasn’t her but the Devil. Shawn insists that the Devil is gone. Belle thinks he needs to go tell Ciara right now. Shawn asks if she’s sure that she’ll be alright alone. Belle says she’ll be fine. Shawn kisses her and says he’ll be back as he then exits.

Ciara agrees with Jake that all those things did benefit Johnny but Belle still could have been behind them and that Johnny might just have been in the right place at the right time to move in on Gabi and the company. Jake says she could be right but he has to know for sure. Jake declares he’s going to get to the bottom of this once and for all as he then exits. Shawn shows up to see them. Ciara asks how Belle is. Shawn says she’s fine physically but worried about what she might have done to hurt the people she loves which is why he is here. Shawn brings up the sonogram envelope and shows them that the Devil opened it. Shawn knows they want to keep it a surprise but he’s trying to keep Belle calm. Ciara agrees to keep the envelope with them. Shawn says he has to get back to Belle but he knows it will make her heart feel good to know they are okay. Ben says to let them know if he needs anything as Shawn then exits.

Jake goes to see Belle and says he’s sorry to bother her as he knows she just went through a terrible experience and he doesn’t want her to relive it but he has a personal stake in what happened which Belle questions. Jake says he’s trying to get to the bottom of something and he needs her help because if his suspicions are correct then he can help her out too.

Johnny goes to see Gabi at DiMera Enterprises and asks how her first day on the job is going. Gabi responds that she fired Kate so it’s off to an excellent start. Johnny thought they used to be friends. Gabi says that was before Jake and before Kate backstabbed her at the shareholders meeting. Gabi asks if he has a problem with it. Johnny says no as she is the boss. Gabi complains that Kate thinks she can’t do the job and is bad for the company, so if she let Kate stay, she would worry that she could turn on her at any time. Johnny remarks that she shouldn’t have to work with anyone she can’t trust. Gabi agrees which brings her to her next point as she asks Johnny if she can trust him.

Chad informs Kate that it wasn’t EJ who kissed Abigail, but that it was apparently Belle while possessed by the Devil, to turn him against EJ. Chad says it worked since he was going to testify that he planted the evidence against EJ and the Devil made him change his mind. Chad declares that he was going to set EJ free and he got played. Chad says he knew it wasn’t EJ that kidnapped Sami as he knew it was Lucas and he only helped EJ get framed so he’d lose his job but then when he heard he was going to get 10 years, he couldn’t keep quiet. Chad declares that he sure can’t keep quiet now. Kate tries to slow Chad down. Chad argues that his brother is serving a sentence for a crime he didn’t commit, so he needs to make it right.

EJ loves that Susan cares so much but assures that the Devil possession argument is a waste of time so it’s going to be awhile before he gets out. Clyde walks in to the room. EJ introduces him to his mother Susan Banks. Susan recognizes Clyde as Ben’s dad and says he is very bad. Clyde says he’s expecting a call from his lawyer so he will go and wait. EJ tells Susan that wasn’t very nice. Susan warns EJ to stay far away from Clyde. EJ responds that he can’t because Clyde is his cellmate. Susan complains that Clyde has done terrible things. EJ says that everyone in prison has but if he’s going to survive, he needs someone to have his back. Susan worries that Clyde has a secret and feels that he is hiding something from EJ. EJ flashes back to the night he was shot then tells Susan not to worry as he’ll be fine and he will take care of himself. Susan encourages that EJ will get out and back to his beautiful life. Susan hugs him and says she loves him so much. Susan then exits the prison. EJ looks back at Clyde, who is on the phone.

Chad tells Kate that he can’t let EJ stay in prison, knowing what he knows, so he has to get him out. Kate asks what he will do. Chad says he will say he planted the evidence like he was going to before, without implicating Lucas. Chad knows he’ll get charged with perjury. Kate points out that Chad will end up behind bars too. Kate knows Chad feels awful but he will feel a million times worse if he’s separated from his wife and children. Kate asks if he really thinks EJ would do the same thing if the situation was reversed. Chad says it doesn’t matter as he has to do what’s right. Chad says he has to call Melinda. Kate stops him and says she thinks there might be another way.

Jake asks Belle if it was her that morphed in to him when he supposedly met with Maggie. Belle asks when it was. Jake tells her that it was February 2nd. Belle thinks she was at the prison with EJ that day in the afternoon. Jake says the meeting with Maggie was in the morning, but if Belle could prove she was somewhere else at that time then maybe they could prove it wasn’t her that morphed in to him and that it was Johnny. Belle goes to check her calendar but finds Maggie’s phone in her purse instead. Jake brings up Maggie supposedly sent him a message after that meeting that made it look like they were conspiring behind Gabi’s back but she swears she didn’t send it. Belle cries that it looks like it was her. Jake is sorry since he knows it’s upsetting, but if this is true, she has no idea what this could mean for he and Gabi.

Johnny questions Gabi not trusting him. Gabi tells him that Kate reminded her that he’s stabbed a lot of people in the back, including his uncle, his sister, and his wife. Gabi asks how she knows he won’t do the same to her, use her to get ahead and then cut her loose. Johnny insists he would never do that. Gabi is hesitant to take his word given what he has done. Gabi asks Johnny what he really wants.

Ben and Ciara sit together with the sonogram envelope in front of them. Ben guesses he should put it away. Ciara stops him and asks if they should look at it first.

Gabi asks Johnny if he wants to be CEO of DiMera. Johnny says maybe someday but he’s going to be tied up with his movie for a long time and even if he wasn’t, Gabi is the CEO of DiMera. Gabi wonders if it’s part of a bigger plan and if he’s plotting behind her back to get rid of her so he can take over. Johnny calls her very suspicious but says he can completely understand where this is coming from since she loved Jake and he lied to her, used her, and stabbed her in the back. Johnny tells her that he’s not Jake. Gabi points out that Johnny hurt people that he supposedly cared about. Johnny argues that he turned on Chad because he wanted Gabi to have this job and he spoke up about Allie because he thought Tripp had a right to know that Allie slept with his wife. Johnny adds that he and Chanel would have never lasted as Chanel wants his sister and always has. Gabi questions why he married her if he knew that. Johnny blames it on being in Italy and getting swept up in the moment. Johnny declares that when they got home, he realized Chanel is not the woman for him and that Gabi is.

Jake swears to Belle that he did not sign the petition to steal Gabi’s shares. Belle says she keeps a copy of all legal documents on her laptop so she goes to it to take a look. Belle guesses she must have forged his signature on it and says she doesn’t remember doing it. Belle thinks it’s pretty clear that Johnny wasn’t the one causing all the problems for he and Gabi, it was her. Jake understands it wasn’t her fault and says now he can go to Gabi and prove to her that he didn’t betray her. Belle is glad she could help. Jake knows this wasn’t easy for her and he’s really grateful. Jake hopes she feels better and says he’ll take Maggie’s phone back to her. Belle says to tell her that she’s so sorry. Jake calls Belle one of the good ones and says she has nothing to be sorry about as he exits.

Clyde jokes with EJ about his mom not being what he expected. EJ admits she’s eccentric but loves him very much. Clyde points out that Susan doesn’t think much of him though. EJ says Susan is just protective of Ben and Ciara. Clyde admits he wasn’t much of a dad to Ben growing up, but they worked things out and he knows he has nothing to fear from him. Clyde adds that EJ doesn’t either despite what Susan says. Clyde tells EJ that he’s in a very good mood because he may be getting out of here sooner than anyone expects.

Ben and Ciara ask each other if they want to look at the sonogram. Ben guesses he should put it away somewhere where they won’t be so tempted but he has no idea where. Ben says he will figure it out and kisses her until Susan shows up at their door. Susan says she came to say farewell since the Devil is gone and their baby is safe, so her work here is done and she can’t wait to get back to Roger in Memphis. Ciara thanks Susan for everything as they hug. Susan then spots the envelope on the table and exclaims that she knows what that is. Susan starts to announce what they are going to have but Ben and Ciara both stop her. Susan questions why they are yelling at her, arguing that she has used her gifts for good and she’s protected them from the Devil. Ben explains that they are not angry with her. Ciara says they wanted to stop her before she told them whether the baby was a boy or a girl. Susan gets that they want to be surprised. Susan assures that her lips are sealed from now on as she then exits. Ciara and Ben joke that they didn’t want to find out like that. Ben asks Ciara how she does want to find out. Ciara thinks she has an idea..

Shawn goes home. Belle asks if Ben and Ciara were upset about the sonogram. Shawn says not at all and they were just glad that she is okay. Belle mentions still being shaken up. Shawn asks if something happened while he was gone. Belle informs him that Jake came by because apparently Ben and Ciara aren’t the only couple she tried to cause trouble for.

Johnny tells Gabi that he doesn’t want anything but her. He says they got everything they want by working together and they can do so much more together. Johnny remarks that she’s clearly attracted to him and that she was fighting it while with Jake, but he’s out of the picture now. Johnny says he’s getting divorced so they are both single, available, and hot. Johnny thinks it’s time for them to take their relationship to the next level. Gabi asks what level that is.

Jake goes to the Kiriakis Mansion looking for Maggie but she’s not home. Jake puts Maggie’s phone down and leaves a note, writing that he found her phone and to call him to discuss. Jake then pulls out his own phone to call Gabi.

Gabi questions Johnny just thinking they are single and hot. Johnny argues that they have so much more in common than that as they are both ambitious, ruthless, passionate, and they go after what they want. Johnny tells Gabi that what he wants is her. Johnny and Gabi start kissing as Gabi’s phone rings nearby with a call from Jake.

Chad questions Kate knowing a way to clear EJ without incriminating him or Lucas. Kate says she thinks so. Chad doesn’t see how they can pull that off while keeping everyone’s hands clean. Kate says she didn’t say everyone as someone will have to take the fall, just not Chad. Chad asks who. Kate suggests pinning the crime on the Devil.

EJ questions Clyde getting out of prison. Clyde informs him that he got his hearing moved up so he may have spent his last night in prison. EJ notes that Clyde seems confident. Clyde looks forward to a fresh start, knowing he’s paid for all his crimes. EJ flashes back to the night that he was shot. Clyde asks if anything is wrong. EJ declares that it was him.

Recap written by Christine

Victor summoned Nick to Newman Media and thanked him for reaching out to Nate. Victor revealed that Nate pulled the medical records from Ashland’s heart attack and saw that there was no sign of cancer in the x-rays. Ashland never received chemotherapy at Memorial. Nick said there was a special place in hell for Ashland after manipulating Victoria like this. Victor said, since Ashland refused to do the decent thing and leave town, it was imperative that Victor and Nick show Victoria the evidence. Nick hoped Victoria booted Victoria out of her life and the company. Nick called in reinforcements, and Nikki and Adam arrived. They all talked about Ashland’s deception. Victor was glad they were all on the same page now. Adam said once he heard what Nate said, it was a no-brainer. Nick said Victoria was resistant to the idea that Ashland was lying. Nick felt that the family only had one move left, and it would take all of them to pull it off.

Nick laid out his plan. Adam liked it, but he didn’t think it’d work. Nikki was worried Victoria would never forgive them, whether the plan was successful or not. Victor said their priority had to be getting Ashland out of Victoria’s life. Adam didn’t think Victoria would trust them over Ashland. Adam added that Ashland already signed the contract making him co-CEO, so this could be too little, too late. Nick snapped that he didn’t care about the company; he only cared about his sister, and he thought Adam should feel the same way. “Well, of course, but…,” Adam started saying. Nick interrupted and said that if Ashland’s plan was to get control of Newman Locke, Victoria could just be an obstacle that he wanted to get rid of by any means necessary.

Horrified, Nikki asked if Nick actually thought Ashland would eliminate Victoria. Nick didn’t want to believe Ashland was capable of something like that, but they couldn’t take anything for granted. Adam said that Ashland left his best friend to die and stole his identity. Adam doubted the story that there was nothing Bobby DeFranco could’ve done that night to save the real Ashland Locke. Victor was adamant that he wouldn’t let Ashland harm one hair on Victoria’s head. Nikki said Victoria would need them when this was all over. Victor said they’d all be there. Nick asked if Adam and Nikki were in. They were both fully on board.

Victoria went to work, and Ashland was already there. She kissed him hello. He said he was surprised when he came downstairs this morning and she wasn’t home. She said she had some errands to run. He added that he’d felt her tossing and turning in bed all night. “Heavy is the head that wears the crown,” she replied. He said they were partners, so whatever was bothering her was bothering him. She said she was furious with her father for setting this in motion. She was concerned word would get out that he supposedly faked his cancer. He had a plan to make sure that didn’t happen.

Ashland proposed he and Victoria go to the Palazzo in Tuscany, then go to Milan to spend a couple weeks with Harrison. She wasn’t sure about doing that now. He thought it was the perfect time – it would give him a distraction-free environment to investigate these claims against him. She didn’t want anyone to think they were in hiding or running. He was wondering if her father planted more doubt in her mind than she was willing to admit. “You swore to me that none of that was true. So I’m sure you know how I would react if I learned that you lied to me again,” Victoria replied. He knew their marriage wouldn’t survive that. She said he’d have to be both foolish and desperate to think he could keep her in the dark about that, and they’d be able to move past it. He took great pride in being neither of those things. Victoria said Ashland was brilliant and he knew her very well, so he knew she had a great capacity for forgiveness, but there were some lines that couldn’t be crossed. He sensed she thought he was about to break down and make a confession. She told him that if he needed to confess, now was the time.

Ashland had something earth-shattering to confess – he loved Victoria more than anything in his entire life, and he wanted to spend the rest of his life making her happy. He saw in her eyes that she was torn between his love for her and her fidelity to her family. She was so sorry. He said she had nothing to apologize for. He knew her family was pressuring her. He thought the best way for her to shut out the family’s constant interference was to go away together. He said they needed time to focus, and he couldn’t think of a better place than Tuscany, where he first pledged his love and life to her, and she’d said “love transcends all.” She remembered that well. He wanted to go today. Nikki burst in crying and saying she needed to talk to Victoria alone about a private matter.

Nikki told Ashland she’d appreciate it if he gave them some space. Victoria felt her mother was being rude and dismissive. She said she and Ashland were partners, just like Nikki and Victor, so anything Nikki had to say could be said to both of them. “Victoria, if you think you I think I share everything with your father, you are sorely mistaken,” Nikki stated. She said that she needed a moment with her daughter. Ashland said that if Victoria wanted him to stay, he was going to stay. Nikki decided to stop being polite, and she ordered Ashland to leave. Ashland told Nikki that she was disrespecting Victoria and him. He knew why she wanted him to leave. Nikki told Ashland that not everything was about him. Nikki cried that this was a private family matter. Nikki lied and said she and Victor had a terrible fight. Threats were made, and Nikki and Victor said things that they couldn’t take back. Nikki didn’t know where else to turn. Victoria was so sorry. She told Ashland that she needed to talk to her mom alone. He asked if she was sure. Victoria said it would only take a few minutes – her mother was the strongest woman she knew, and she wanted to be there for her. Ashland loved that Victoria’s first instinct was to help Nikki, even though Nikki caused her so much consternation. Ashland wished Nikki the best and said she was fortunate to have such a loving and caring daughter. Nikki said thanks and turned away. While no one could see her, she texted Nick.

Meanwhile, at Newman Media, Nick bristled at Adam’s contention that they needed a fallback plan in case this one failed. Nick sensed Adam already had something in mind. Adam said he floated an idea yesterday, but Victor shot it down. Adam asked if the board could nullify Ashland’s contract, and Victoria’s. Victor said the merger made that difficult. Adam didn’t think it was impossible. Victor made it clear that they would not fire Victoria under any circumstances. Nick said there was no basis for firing Victoria. Adam didn’t agree – he thought it was incompetent for Victoria to let the proverbial fox into the hen house. Nick refused to let Adam make a play for Victoria’s job. Adam thought they could all agree that Victoria made a colossal error, but he said it didn’t mean he was coming for the CEO job. Nick thought Adam’s history proved otherwise. Adam said he had a vested interest in the company because he actually worked here, unlike Nick, and they couldn’t pause work because of a family crisis – someone had to keep their eye on the ball. Victor told his sons to stop arguing. He said they’d deal with any damage that may have been done to the company later – their sister was the priority right now.

Lauren walked into the office, and Adam said it was a private meeting. Lauren refused to leave. She asked if Victor heard anything from Michael. He said he got a package from Michael yesterday. Lauren said that could’ve been mailed days ago. She knew he had people searching for Michael. He asked where she heard that, and she said it didn’t matter. She thought that Victor should’ve shared that with her. She wanted to know everything. He admitted he lost contact with Michael. She was glad she’d gone to Kevin for help. She filed a missing person’s report with the GCPD, and they’d contacted the Peruvian authorities. He told her to forget about the police. He had his best people on this. He said to trust him. “Like Michael did?,” she shot back. Lauren might have trusted Victor if he’d told her all this up front. He said he didn’t want to alarm her. He’d thought they would’ve found Michael more quickly than this. Lauren noted that Victor didn’t say anything after Michael wasn’t found. She didn’t even know why Michael was in South America. She assumed that Nick and Adam knew more about this than she did.

Nick and Adam offered some platitudes about Michael, which only frustrated Lauren because she wanted someone to just tell her what was going on. Vitor said he wanted to keep this private, and he couldn’t tell Lauren what was going on. He was sorry what should’ve been a routine trip turned dangerous, but he promised he’d remedy the situation. Nick got a text from Nikki saying “Now. Quickly.” Nick said he and Adam had to go deal with that situation. Victor said he’d join them shortly. They left. Lauren asked if that had something to do with Michael. Victor said it did, in a way. He said Michael was on an important mission. He promised to do everything in his power to bring Michael back safely.

Back at Newman Locke, Victoria was gentle with Nikki. Despite what Nikki said earlier, Victoria found it hard to believe that this fight with Victor wasn’t about Ashland. Victoria hoped Nikki told Victor that he needed to stop making these accusations toward Ashland. Nikki said there was no doubt in her mind that Victor was right to investigate Ashland. Victoria was furious when she realized Nikki lied and there was no fight. Nikki grabbed Victoria by the shoulders and said Ashland had been using her. Nick, Adam and Victor walked in. Nick said they weren’t leaving until Victoria had seen all the evidence.

Nate and Elena were at Crimson Lights. She wanted to split a pastry, but he didn’t have an appetite. He was feeling conflicted. He’d never violated someone’s medical privacy before. Not only did he access the records of someone who was never his patient, but he shared that information with a third party. Elena asked if Nate regretted what he’d done. He said he’d do the same thing all over again, but he couldn’t stop thinking about what would happen to him. Nate was worried Ashland would ruin his reputation. Elena thought Ashland had bigger fish to fry. She said if Ashland tried to come for Nate, he’d have to expose his own deception. She thought that people would be on Nate’s side if his role in this came out. Elena said Ashland used Nate. Nate couldn’t believe he wasn’t a better judge of character. Elena noted that she’d been taken in by Ashland too. She said Ashland was shameless, and someone should make him pay. “If I hadn’t taken an oath to do no harm, he would be right at the top of my to-do list,” Elena said. Nate smiled and thanked Elena for being outraged on his behalf. Nate was mad at himself for being duped by Ashland. He couldn’t believe he’d been Ashland’s best man. Elena said Ashland even fooled Victoria, who spent nearly every hour of the day with him. Nate wondered how he let Ashland have so much influence over him. Ashland got Nate thinking about changing his entire career path. Nate almost began to work for a man who had no qualms about manipulating him.

Lily and Devon walked in and overheard Nate lamenting that his career plans were up in the air, and he didn’t know what he was going to do. Lily and Devon noted that they both offered Nate jobs at their companies, and he’d turned them down to work with Ashland. Lily asked what happened. Nate and Elena kept it vague, just saying that working with Ashland wasn’t the best fit. Lily asked if this had anything to do with the concerns she raised about the family dynamics and constantly shifting alliances. Nate said that played a part in it. Lily said she and Devon had an offer for Nate. She confirmed with Devon that he was okay with this. Nae asked what was going on. Lily and Devon stressed that this conversation was top secret, then they revealed the plans to do a merger. Lily said she and Devon weren’t just focused on profit – they wanted to build something they could run together, as a family, and they wanted Nate to be part of it.

Devon said the goal was to create an empire – a dynasty they could leave behind for Moses, Mattie, Charlie, Dominic and any other future relatives. Lily asked Nate to imagine what Neil would say about all this. She said this would be their ancestors’ wildest dreams. Nate was flattered, but he didn’t know where he’d fit into this. Lily said Nate was bright, he brought a lot to the table, and they loved him. Nate had to think about it. Devon asked Elena how she felt. She loved the idea, but she thought Nate had to make up his own mind. Lily was gearing up to make another push when Nate cut her off and snapped that he applauded the enthusiasm, but he wasn’t sure this was the right move for him.

Nate apologized for blowing up. Devon sarcastically apologized for offering Nate a cool job. Lily said she and Devon shouldn’t have bombarded Nate. She asked what was going on with him. Nate said he just made a bad judgment call, and he needed time to regroup. Devon asked if Nate wanted to go for a run to clear his head. Lily offered support too, and Elena said they were all here for Nate. Nate just had to take care of some things. Lily said the offer didn’t expire. Nate said thanks, and he left. Devon and Lily asked what was going on. It wasn’t Elena’s place to say. She just assured Devon and Lily that their cousin was going to be okay. She loved that they invited him into the legacy they were creating, because he’d need something to latch onto.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Chad questions Will and Sonny how they plan to get a guy to come on to Leo. Sonny explains that it would have to be someone who Leo has already come on to, who wouldn’t have to sell himself. Chad questions why they are looking at him like that and what they want him to do. Will and Sonny want Chad to make Leo’s wildest dreams come true, by going to bed with him. Chad suggests a plan B of shooting Leo in the town square because spending the rest of his life in prison would be vastly better than what they are offering. Will argues that Chad was in a bed with Leo in Phoenix. Chad would rather wake up with a tarantula than wake up with Leo. Sonny thought Chad wanted to help them. Chad screams that was before he realized they were out of their minds.

Craig questions Leo wanting him to go after Kayla’s job. Leo encourages that he’d be great at it. Craig points out that Kayla is too. Leo reminds Craig that he could lose his job in New York because of Nancy’s big mouth. Craig warns Leo that they will not trash Nancy. Leo argues that Nancy is trying to get him fired. Craig understands that she is in a lot of pain. Leo thinks Nancy is overreacting horribly to this turn of events. Craig mocks the idea of that bothering him. Leo apologizes for starting a fight and says he’d be happy to spend the rest of his life alone with him on a deserted island but he knows Craig’s work is part of who he is, as he’s a healer. Craig argues that he can be a healer without taking Kayla’s job. Leo says Kayla would be losing her job on her own if she refuses to fire Marlena. Leo tells Craig that he can’t fight fate.

At the hospital, Kayla argues on the phone that Marlena is recovered and fully competent. Kayla tells Mr. Hartley that they can talk about this in the morning and warns that she does not take well to threats. Abigail arrives and asks if Kayla is alright as she heard her talking about Marlena. Kayla reveals that the board is trying to get Marlena fired.

As John prepares Belle’s exorcism, Marlena questions him wanting her to leave. John says she has to and tells her to go stay downstairs with Johnny until this is all over. Marlena argues that Belle is her daughter so she’s not leaving her at a time like this. John points out that they now know that when Eric performed the exorcism, the Devil took over Belle because she was in the room. John argues that the Devil has come after Marlena twice so he doesn’t want to give him a third chance. John declares that the only way to make sure the Devil is gone is if no one else is in the room. Marlena asks what if the Devil decides to make John his next host.

Devil Johnny calls Shawn to ask him to come over right away because something has happened to Belle. Johnny tells him to get there as fast as he can and he’ll see him soon. The Devil hangs up and declares that Shawn is going to get him in to that room because he can’t have them figure out that Belle isn’t the problem and Johnny is.

Sonny tells Chad that they understand his reservations. Chad argues that’s not strong enough for how he feels. Will doesn’t think Chad wants to do it. Chad brings up their rants about Leo and now they want him to make Leo’s dreams come true. Chad adds that he barely knows Craig. Sonny says they can talk about what this actually entails. Chad doesn’t want details. Sonny and Will clarify that they just mean going to bed with him, but his virtue is safe with them.

Leo apologizes to Craig as he sees that he’s been unfair to Nancy and he sees that he would react badly too if he ever lost him. Craig doesn’t think they need to worry about that. Leo says he’s not religious but he is spiritual and believes everything happens for a reason. Leo talks about Nancy trying to sabotage his career in New York while the Devil sent University Hospital in to a tail spine as if a higher power needs him to be the new chief of staff. Leo encourages that this could be the start of a whole new life for them.

John tells Marlena that if he’s performing the exorcism, he’s going to have God’s protection. Marlena asks if he’s sure since he’s not even a priest and technically never was. John assures that he believes in what he’s doing. Marlena repeats that Belle is her daughter too and that love is the only thing to defeat the Devil. Marlena insists that together they are stronger so she’s not leaving.

Shawn enters the DiMera Mansion and asks Johnny where Belle is and why he couldn’t tell him on the phone. Johnny responds that there’s no good way to say this but Belle is possessed.

Chad tells Will and Sonny that he’s not doing it and asks if it would ever occur to them that maybe Leo and Craig should be together and maybe Leo does love him. Will argues that Leo’s not capable of love because he doesn’t have a heart. Sonny reminds Chad that Leo is a narcissist. Will is surprised Leo settled for Craig since Craig is well off but not by Leo’s standards and he’s good looking but old enough to be Leo’s father. Will argues that what Leo really likes are young men with lots of family money. Will says with Chad’s looks and DiMera money, Leo would be in his hands. Chad says he’s not saying he couldn’t do it, but that he won’t. Sonny assures that Chad won’t have to do anything as the minute they are in bed, they will send Craig in. Chad questions having an audience. Sonny explains that Craig needs to know the truth and one picture is worth a thousand words. Chad argues that it’s not his responsibility. Chad shouts that Craig’s bad boyfriend is not his problem so there’s no reason that he should do this for him. Will clarifies that he’s not asking Chad to do it for Craig, but for Sonny.

Leo tells Craig that when he’s the new chief of staff, he could put him in charge of HR and be his right hand man. Craig argues that Leo doesn’t know how grueling the job can be since chief of staff gets blamed for everything and thanked for nothing. Craig talks about the pressure. Leo thought he loved the job. Craig says he does certain aspects. Leo encourages that Craig could help people here and Salem needs help. Craig argues that taking someone else’s job is not helping people and the last time he did it, he ended up with psycho nurses and Seth Burns. Craig says when he found out that Chloe was his daughter and then Joy was born, he realized he didn’t want to be a money grubbing, social climbing weasel. Leo insists that he wouldn’t be. Craig questions why Leo is pushing this and if he wants him to be a money grubbing, social climbing weasel. Craig asks if he was wrong about Leo wanting to change.

Abigail asks Kayla about Sarah. Kayla says they are waiting for her test results to come back before they can plan the next step. Abigail guesses she’s not allowed visitors. Kayla confirms she’s pretty fragile and extremely angry about being hospitalized against her will. Kayla is afraid Sarah will see Abigail as a stranger or an enemy. Abigail understands but just hoped to ease her conscience. Kayla asks how Sarah would have anything to do with that. Abigail explains that if she hadn’t gone after Gwen with the syringe and left it there, Kristen wouldn’t have been able to use it on Sarah and none of this would have ever happened.

Shawn argues to Johnny that he knows what Susan said but insists he would have sensed it. Johnny says he’s sorry but he saw her himself and he’s not the only one. Johnny informs Shawn that Belle attacked Marlena and had the glowing eyes and the voice like they saw at the exorcism. Johnny adds that he had to hit Belle over the head to stop her because he thinks she would have killed Marlena if he hadn’t. Shawn asks where she is. Johnny informs him that she’s upstairs with John and Marlena for an exorcism but John said that he didn’t want anyone else up there. Johnny says he thought Shawn should know and he feels terrible. Shawn responds that he should because this is all Johnny’s fault.

Belle starts to wake up. John and Marlena tell her that they are there. Belle calls out Johnny’s name which Marlena questions.

Will tells Sonny that he’s sorry but he had to, as he then tells Chad about how long it took Sonny to get over what Leo did to him. Will says Sonny got over it but now found out Leo is doing it to someone else and he can’t sleep as it’s eating him up inside. Sonny gets teary-eyed and says he’ll admit it’s true. Sonny brings up Leo saying “nice try bitches” when they tried to talk to Craig. Sonny feels that Leo liked that they were trying to stop him because he’s watching Leo do what he did to him to another man. Sonny declares that he has to stop him. Chad says this doesn’t sound like it’s about Craig at all but about revenge. Chad asks why they didn’t just say that. Sonny asks if Chad is in then. Chad responds that he’s a DiMera and they invented revenge. Chad warns Sonny that he will owe him and he doesn’t even know if it will work since Leo knows he’s straight and married. Will says that is where Abigail comes in…

Kayla asks if Abigail really thinks Sarah is here because she didn’t get rid of the syringe. Kayla reminds her that Kristen kidnapped Sarah to save herself. Kayla tells Abigail that she can’t feel guilty about this. Abigail repeats that she got the drug from Dr. Rolf. Kayla understands because Gwen poisoned her and humiliated her father and it was to get her to tell the truth. Kayla reminds Abigail that she couldn’t do it because she’s a good person. Abigail points out that Gabi stopped her. Kayla declares that the day that Kristen atones for her sins is the day that she can feel guilty about this. Kayla adds that thanks to Abigail, they have some idea of what’s in the syringe which will help Sarah. Kayla assures Abigail that this is not her fault.

Leo assures Craig that he has changed since meeting him, but this isn’t about him, it’s about Craig, his career and the people in town. Leo talks about the terror Kayla unleashed on the town by looking the other way when the Devil was around. Craig doesn’t think Kayla can be blamed for not knowing Marlena was possessed when she’s not the only one who was tricked. Leo responds that there is so much more he doesn’t know.

Johnny asks Shawn how this is his fault. Shawn blames Johnny’s movie and says the Devil would have never come back if he hadn’t dared it to. Shawn apologizes and says this is what the Devil wants, to turn them against each other. Shawn says he’s just angry at himself since Susan warned him and he didn’t want to listen. Johnny calls it hard to believe. Shawn says they have to believe they can get rid of the Devil. Shawn declares he has to see Belle, so Johnny directs him upstairs. Johnny then follows Shawn up.

Belle calls Johnny’s name again. Marlena confirms that he was there and says they are all here for her. Belle repeats that “it’s him” which John questions. Shawn bursts in to the room with Johnny. John questions what he’s doing there. Johnny argues that Shawn had a right to know, so he called him. John reminds him that he wanted no one else in the room. John explains to Shawn that they are doing an exorcism and they need to make sure that if it works, the Devil doesn’t just take over another person in the room. Shawn argues that he’s not just another person, he’s her husband. Shawn tells Belle that he’s there and wants her to say something. The Devil then possesses Belle again and tells Shawn to stop calling her Belle.

Kayla tells Abigail that she’s sorry if she’s overstating her case. Abigail understands she’s trying to make her feel better and she did. Abigail brings up hearing Kayla talk about Marlena’s job and offers to write an editorial for the paper but Kayla worries that would just enflame things. Kayla hopes things will just blow over but admits that Seth Burns told her that her job was on the line. Kayla remarks that with the way she feels right now, if someone wanted her job, they could have it.

Leo tells Craig that University Hospital has fallen since he left so it’s his duty to take over as chief of staff because they need him.

Kayla tells Abigail that she has to get back to work and she’ll keep her posted on Sarah. Abigail thanks her for listening as they hug. Kayla walks away and then Abigail gets a call from Chad. Abigail says she’s on her way home. Chad informs her that he’s at the Kiriakis Mansion with Will and Sonny. Chad asks her to meet them there. Abigail asks what’s going on. Chad calls it complicated and says he will fill her in when she gets there.

Shawn asks how long Belle has been like this. Marlena says it’s been since the exorcism. Shawn argues that he would’ve known. The Devil says he was incognito so he wouldn’t interfere with his work which they question. The Devil reveals that he turned himself in to EJ at the courthouse and stuck his tongue down Abigail’s throat. Johnny argues that he knew EJ wouldn’t do something so stupid and asks why the Devil turned Chad against EJ. Marlena says it was to destroy love, tear a family apart, and turn brother against brother. The Devil remarks that Marlena knows him so well. Johnny goes after the Devil and starts choking Belle while John and Shawn pull him off, shouting that it’s not Belle.

After Chad, Sonny, and Will fill Abigail in on their plan, she tells them that she didn’t expect to have all three of them asking her to sign off on her husband getting in bed with another man. Chad calls it extreme. Abigail asks if he’s okay with this. Chad clarifies that he does not want to do this, but Leo’s done bad stuff and is set on doing more. Abigail guesses this is a far better thing to do. Chad tells Abigail that it’s her call. Abigail guesses she’d still be stuck on the island if it wasn’t for Chad so she asks where to start. Chad suggests starting ASAP so he can get it over with. Will then calls the Salem Inn and asks for Craig’s room. Will is informed that Craig and Leo are out for the evening, so he hangs up. Chad declares that they have to come home sometime and when they do, he and Abigail will be waiting for them.

Leo asks Craig what’s left for him in New York since Parker and Joy are in school while he and Chloe are here. Craig points out that Leo is not the most popular person in Salem. Leo says it doesn’t matter if he’s liked as long as he’s loved. Craig guesses it would be nice to live closer to Chloe and if they are going to get rid of Kayla anyway, he could put his hat in the ring. Leo says that’s unless someone on the board remembers what he did and they could put his hat in the ring for him. Craig wonders where Seth Burns is.

Shawn and John pull Johnny off of Devil Belle. Johnny apologizes. Marlena insists it wasn’t Belle, it was the Devil. John says this is why he didn’t want anyone else in this room. Shawn declares that he’s staying because Belle is his wife. Marlena believes the more people in the room that love Belle, the better. John disagrees because if there are people in the room, they will never know for sure if the Devil is really gone. Johnny declares that he just got an idea.

Will wonders if Leo will take the bait. Sonny says there’s not much they can do until Chad and Abigail set the stage. Sonny guesses they are done with their workout. Will says not necessarily as he kisses him.

Chad and Abigail talk in the town square. Chad jokes that they are finally all alone and they are doing this. Abigail points out it was not her idea. Chad sees Leo coming so he and Abigail stage an argument which Leo stops to listen in on and hears Abigail claim that Chad hasn’t touched her in months and only lights up when he talks about his time in Arizona with Will, Sonny, and Leo.

Craig goes to the hospital and says it’s been a long time as he tries to figure out where Seth Burns’ office is. Kayla spots Craig and asks what he’s doing here.

Johnny explains that he’s been doing research for his movie and asks about the medal that Gabe gave John and how it’s supposed to give him power over the Devil to drive him away. Johnny suggests if Marlena and Shawn hold onto it while John performs the exorcism, then they will be protected too. John supposes too. Marlena credits Johnny’s thinking there. Johnny wishes he thought of that last time. Shawn agrees to it. Johnny says he’s the one person they don’t need in the room then so he’ll be right outside. Marlena thanks Johnny. Johnny prays that it works as he exits the room. John, Shawn, and Marlena put their hands together over the medal as John tosses holy water on Belle. Marlena notes it strange that Belle had no reaction. Devil Johnny stands outside the room and uses his power to cause the bed to shake. John prays the Our Father over Belle.

Will suggests he and Sonny take this upstairs. Sonny feels kind of guilty being alone with him here while Chad and Abigail are stuck with Leo, but they continue kissing.

Leo walks by so Chad and Abigail see him. Chad tells Leo that they were just talking about him and didn’t know he was back in Salem. Leo responds that he has a new Salem boyfriend. Chad introduces Leo to Abigail. Abigail calls Leo famous because Chad never stops talking about him, so he obviously made quite an impression. Chad says he wouldn’t go that far. Abigail says she would. Leo tells Chad that it was nice to see him again and heads in to the Salem Inn while Chad and Abigail laugh about their plan.

Craig questions Kayla working a graveyard shift while chief of staff. Kayla asks if she can help him with something. Craig explains that he and Leo were kicking around the idea of staying in Salem, so he wanted to find out if Kayla had any positions available on staff. Kayla doesn’t think she has any positions available for someone of his expertise. Craig claims he’d be perfectly happy starting at the bottom.

Devil Johnny keeps his hand on the bedroom door as John continues trying to exorcise Belle with Shawn and Marlena. Devil Johnny removes his hand from the door and the bed stops shaking. Belle then wakes up and calls out to Shawn, Marlena, and John, asking what happened and where she is. Marlena informs him that she’s in Johnny’s bedroom at the DiMera Mansion. Belle recalls being downstairs with Johnny and something happened. Marlena encourages that she was sick but now she’s healed. Belle tells Shawn that she loves him. Marlena declares “thank God, the Devil is gone forever”. Shawn kisses Belle. Devil Johnny remains outside the room with a smile.

Recap written by Christine

At the condo, Billy recorded his podcast. He thought that sometimes you held onto something so desperately that you drained the joy out of the thing you wanted the most. He believed that he’d found something to help. By closing his eyes and simply breathing, he was able to allow the thing he wanted most in his life to arrive. He touted meditation and said it helped him get into a mindset to do the podcast. He vowed to put it all out there and enjoy the ride. He said his amazing sister gave him the idea for this new approach, and she was right, as always. He was just beginning to dabble in meditation, but so far, so good. He said he’d had a blessed life, but he’d also struggled. He hoped that this could help one person, or better yet, they could collectively help each other.

Billy promised his audience the good, the bad and everything in between. He thought he’d start with a story about a little girl whose death changed everything forever. It changed his life, and it was a cautionary tale that got worse before it got better. He wasn’t sure he’d ever fully heal, and he wasn’t sure he’d want to, because he didn’t want to lose the memory of his daughter. He said Delia’s memory hadn’t been serving him the way it should. He said he had to love, honor and celebrate her without letting the grief and pain drive him. The story’s end wasn’t happy, because Delia was gone, but it was filled with beautiful memories. Even with the pain, he was grateful and lucky to know Delia, even if their time together was short. Billy built walls of hatred around his heart when he lost his daughter. The walls were aimed at the person who caused Delia’s death. Now he realized that was a way of avoiding his loss and his guilt. When the guilt erupted, he acted out in scary, troubling ways. At one point, his mind actually splintered. He was lucky enough to have the love of a good friend and therapy that helped him put his life back together. Eventually, something amazing happened, and it saved him – love.

Jack and Phyllis were back at her hotel after their trip to LA. She wanted to do a deeper dive into the person behind the texts. He couldn’t focus on that right now. He said he couldn’t have gotten through this trip without her. She wished she’d gotten the chance to know Allie a little better. Jack was still hopeful.

Later, Jack came home and brought Keemo’s belongings inside. He poured a drink and looked at Allie’s photo. He received another text. “You left too soon. You should’ve given her more time,” it said. He replied asking the texter to identify themselves. Traci came downstairs. Jack had some stuff to tell the whole family, but he wanted to run it by Traci first.

Jack read the letters from Keemo to Traci, and it moved her to tears. She wished she’d been there when he found them. He said Phyllis had been there, and she’d been strong and a good friend. He wished he’d reached out to Keemo one last time. Traci didn’t want Jack to blame himself. She said a relationship was a two way street. His brain knew that, but his heart hurt. His emotions were all over the place. She thought that was understandable. She said his mind was trying to make sense of something nonsensical. He wondered how she always knew the right thing to say. Traci was shocked and delighted to hear that she had a great niece, and Jack had a granddaughter. She was eager for the details. He showed her a photo of Allie. Traci asked if Allie was sending him the texts. Jack said that Keemo never told Allie about him. Traci wanted to meet the new Abbott. Jack wanted it to happen, but he said it wouldn’t be right away.

Jack stated that Allie proposed getting together for coffee the next time they were in LA. He didn’t think much would come of it though, since Allie’s first instinct had been to run for the hills and forget they ever met. He said Allie was just as shocked by his existence as he was by hers, and he wouldn’t blame her if she wanted to forget they ever met. He didn’t blame Allie if she decided not to know him. Traci found the whole situation heartbreaking. Jack wasn’t giving up on Allie. He was convinced that he could bond with his granddaughter. He said he had to find some way to let her know the Abbott’s door was always open to her.

Traci didn’t want Jack to set himself up to be disappointed. He told her not to worry – he was aware this might not work out, but maybe it could. He saw Allie was bright and resourceful, and she needed family. Traci asked about Allie’s mother. Jack said the mother/daughter relationship was rocky. When he looked at Allie, he saw someone alone, afraid and sad. Traci know Allie wasn’t the only one who was sad. She admired the way Jack handled this. Traci admitted she’d had reservations about the trip, but she was glad he went and found Allie, and she was also glad he was back home. Traci knew the rest of the family would want to know. Jack thought it was too late at night for a call right now. He was going to go for a drive to clear his head. Jack hugged Traci and said he loved her. He couldn’t believe his son was gone, but he was determined not to let that happen to his granddaughter.

Amanda and Phyllis were at the hotel. Phyllis said it felt great to emotionally support Jack, when he was usually doing that for her. Amanda asked if any romantic feelings surfaced in LA. Phyllis said it wasn’t like that. Phyllis said what happened with Jack in California was heavy – he dealt with the loss of his son and all the other stuff. Amanda was sorry for making light of the situation by asking if it the trip turned romantic. Phyllis said she and Jack weren’t in a romantic mindset. Amanda knew Jack appreciated Phyllis being there for him. She said Phyllis was that rare person who’d drop everything and fly across the country if someone needed them. Phyllis was happy to be there for Jack. Amanda thought Phyllis and Jack’s relationship reached a new level, even if it wasn’t romantic. Phyllis agreed.

Allie went back to Keemo’s house in LA and talked to her father’s spirit. She wept and said she couldn’t believe he was really gone. She wasn’t sure what to do without him. She was confused and she wanted a sign from Keemo. When things got rough, or she needed to talk, she always went to her dad, and now she didn’t have anyone, or at least, no one like him. She said that her mom was a million miles away, and busy with her own life. Allie knew her mother would never change. Allie said Keemo was gone, now Jack had shown up, and she wasn’t sure she could trust him. She didn’t want to disgrace Keemo’s memory by doing something he wouldn’t approve of. “If you cut him out of your life, then shouldn’t I do the same?,” she asked.

Jill video chatted with Devon, who was at the penthouse. She asked why he was throwing away the chance of a lifetime. He assumed she was talking about the idea to merge Hamilton Winters and Chancellor Industries. Jill said the companies would be unstoppable together – look what the Newman/Locke merger did for those two companies. Devon was still considering it, but first he thought Hamilton Winters and Chancellor Industries should focus on their first joint venture and see how that went. Jill thought it was a mistake to wait. She told him to think about what Katherine or Neil would do. Devon thought they’d weigh the idea carefully. Jill felt that the proposal was written in the stars. She thought Katherine would love it if Devon was involved in running Chancellor. Devon knew Neil would love it if his kids were working together. Jill added that Devon was the third parent of her great grandson. “How much more family can we get?,” she said, with a laugh.

Devon called Lily over to the house and let her know about Jill’s call. He was thinking about the merger, and he loved the idea of honoring family. He’d need to see a very detailed proposal, though. Lily already had one written up. Devon said he didn’t want the merger to cause conflict between him and Lily. He said they’d seen how business could come between relatives. Lily said she and Devon had been through so much together, since their teen years, that no corporate friction could sever their bond. She said she’d step down as CEO if it ever seemed like it’d come between her and Devon. He said that if anything went bad, he’d step down as CEO too. He was ready to do this merger and make Neil and Katherine proud. Lily was thrilled.

Lily went home and told Billy that, while a lot of work and negotiations had to happen, she thought the merger was a go. Billy shared that meditation was working out well for him. He just finished his first podcast, and it felt good. He wasn’t sure anyone would listen, but it was cathartic. She wanted to hear it. He said she featured in it. He told her he’d never tire of felling her she saved his life.

Amanda went home and got smothered in kisses from Devon. She wondered if she was that irresistible. He said yes, and he also had news. He told her about the merger. She hoped Lily didn’t push him into this. He assured her the decision was his. She said she was ecstatic, then. She knew the deal would be complicated, but potentially groundbreaking. She noted that she and Devon would be working together. He hadn’t been this happy in a really long time. He said this was going to change their lives, and Lily’s life, and their two families’ legacies would never be the same again.

Jack’s drive took him to Phyllis’s hotel. He thanked her again. She said she was happy to do it. Her kindness, friendship and loyalty meant the world to him. He got a text, and Phyllis asked what it said.

Allie was asleep on the couch when an unidentified person entered the room, casting a shadow over her. She woke up, looking frightened, but nobody was there anymore.

Traci listened to Billy’s podcast and seemed impressed.

As Billy talked about love, in a voice-over, scenes of Amanda with Devon, Billy with Lily, and Jack with Phyllis played.

Jack silently handed his phone to Phyllis, so she could see the recent conversation between him and he mystery person. As Phyllis read the texts, Billy said he was a big believer in fourth and fifth chances coming to you when you least expected it.

Texter: “You left too soon. You should have given her more time.”

Jack: “Please tell me who you are.”

Texter: “Don’t lose hope. Let me see what I can do.”

Billy recorded the first episode of his podcast, and it was about how Delia’s death affected him and how love helped him move forward. Jill called Devon and urged him to agree to the merger. Devon was hesitant because he didn’t want business to get in the way of his relationship with Lily. Lily and Devon promised they’d quit their jobs if it ever interfered with their sibling bond. Devon tentatively agreed to the Hamilton Winters/Chancellor Industries merger. Amanda and Billy learned that the merger was happening. Phyllis and Amanda hung out after Phyllis came back from LA. Phyllis said she and Jack weren’t in a romantic mindset. Allie wondered whether Jack could be trusted and if she should let him into her life, after her father disowned him. Someone watched Allie sleep. Allie jolted awake, and the person was gone. The mysterious texter told Jack he gave up on Allie too early. Jack told Traci about Allie and said he was still hopeful she’d want to connect with him. Jack was with Phyllis when he got another text. The texter implied that they’d help him with Allie.

Update written by Joseph

Will and Sonny are working out in the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion when Chad arrives and greets them. Chad mentions he’s sorry that they couldn’t get together sooner as he was out of town. Sonny mentions hearing that he found Sarah Horton. Chad confirms that Kristen had her the whole time and grabbed Abigail too but they are home safe. Sonny asks if it was scary on the DiMera private island. Chad remarks that it wasn’t quite dealing with Leo Stark.

Leo and Craig wake up in bed together. Craig suggests buying dinner while Leo says he will have him for dessert as they kiss.

Marlena enters the living room of the DiMera Mansion and looks up at the portrait of Stefano. Marlena guesses Stefano is loving that the Devil has her daughter. Marlena declares that John is on his way over and they will defeat him again. John arrives and hugs Marlena. John says her message just said emergency so he’s been going out of his mind. Marlena didn’t want to leave it on voicemail. John asks what’s going on. Marlena suggests he brace himself.

Devil Johnny enters the bedroom where Belle is tied to the bed. He remarks that she seems to be in a bind and jokes that she’s going to be here for awhile.

Chloe goes to see Brady, who comments that she looks tired. Chloe confirms that she hasn’t been sleeping well lately and doesn’t think she will until she can get Craig out of Leo’s clutches. Chloe mentions that Craig called her today and they spoke for over an hour but he’s furious about them trying to grill Leo and sending Will and Sonny to warn him. Chloe says it’s so crazy as she feels like she doesn’t know her own father anymore. Brady encourages that Craig will realize she has his best interest at heart and that Will and Sonny aren’t giving up. Chloe wishes she knew what Will and Sonny’s secret plan is and hopes it doesn’t blow up in their faces or Craig’s.

Chad jokes with Will and Sonny about Leo and wonders what his latest caper is. Will and Sonny then reveal that Leo is back in town.

Marlena explains to John that on the night of the exorcism, she thought John freed her from the hell that she was going through and that they would return to their normal lives but it hasn’t happened. John questions what they are doing here. Marlena informs him that this is where it happened. Marlena explains that she came here looking for Belle which John questions. Marlena reveals that she came in and was attacked. John tells her to start from the beginning and tell him what happened. Marlena declares that he didn’t vanquish the Devil that night, he just left her soul and went in to somebody else’s. Marlena then reveals to John that it went in to their daughter, Belle. John can’t believe it.

The Devil says he knew he wouldn’t have any problem conning Susan in to believing the Devil had Belle, but what really impressed him is that he did the same thing to Marlena. The Devil remarks that as long as Belle remains sleeping, no one will ever be wiser. The Devil declares that now he has to work on what to do when she wakes up, if she wakes up.

Kayla meets Steve for drinks in the town square. Steve asks her about Eli is doing. Kayla says they thought surgery was a success but now he’s slipped into a coma. Kayla worries about the wins. Steve asks about Lani. Kayla informs him that she is at the hospital with Paulina, Valerie, and Julie. Steve can’t believe a drug dealer would shoot a cop in broad daylight. Steve feels Kayla needs to eat but Kayla says not yet. Kayla then reveals that the board is pressuring her to fire Marlena.

John questions Marlena being attacked by Belle. Marlena confirms she attacked Johnny too. Marlena brings up Belle’s eyes glowing. John asks where she is now. Marlena informs him that she’s upstairs, tied up like she was. Marlena blames herself because the Devil came after her and when he couldn’t control her, he went after Belle. John says something about this doesn’t make any sense here as he spent far too much time with Belle the night after the exorcism, so he would’ve seen the signs. Marlena thinks the Devil knew that and stayed away from him. John asks why he’d show himself now. Marlena explains that Susan came back to town to warn her about him and found Belle wearing a coat with “666” on it. John can’t buy it and needs to see Belle himself. Marlena says he can’t talk to her as she’s sedated him. John asks if she’s alone. Marlena informs him that Johnny is with her and is the one that stopped Belle from hurting her by knocking her unconscious. Marlena doesn’t know what would’ve happened if Johnny hadn’t been there.

The Devil says things would go more smoothly if Belle never woke up and the people of Salem would believe the Devil died with her. He then begins choking Belle until John walks in with Marlena and questions what the hell Johnny is doing. John points out that he had his hands around Belle’s neck. Johnny claims that he was checking her pulse. John tells him to stay away from her. John checks on Belle and asks if Shawn knows about this. Marlena says not yet as she wanted to talk to John before telling him. John says now he knows and Belle is going to need Shawn. Marlena informs John that Eli was shot by a drug dealer and it’s critical, so Shawn is in charge of that case and he has to be there for Julie. John insists that he needs to know. Johnny claims that they thought the fewer people that know, the better. John argues that Johnny doesn’t call the shots and they don’t even know that she’s possessed. Johnny brings up what Belle did. John says before he accepts that they are dealing with the Devil again, he’s going to make damn sure that Belle’s behavior wasn’t caused by something else…

Steve tells Kayla that it’s bad enough that the board want Marlena gone but now they want Kayla to fire her. Craig comes over and questions why they would fire Marlena. Steve calls it a private conversation. Kayla recognizes Craig and reminds Steve who he is. Steve apologizes and says it’s been awhile. Kayla assumes that Craig and Nancy came in to see Chloe. Craig reveals they are no longer together. Kayla says she’s sorry. Leo Stark then appears and announces he is Craig’s new boyfriend.

Chad can’t believe that Chloe’s dad is suddenly gay and dating Leo Stark. Will and Sonny confirm it and explain that they tried to get through to Craig but it didn’t work. Sonny feels they have to do something but it won’t be easy because Craig hasn’t been out that long and Leo is very attentive. Will tells Chad that they need his help. Chad questions what he can do.

Brady tells Chloe that Sonny and Will know Leo better than anyone so if Sonny says he has a way get Craig to see Leo’s true colors, he believes him. Chloe wants to but brings up how Craig was on the phone today and said he’s never been happier in his life than with Leo. Brady comments on knowing about the illusion of happiness and brings up his relationships with Theresa and Kristen. They relate about wanting to believe things are true. Brady remarks that sometimes the worst part is that the real thing is staring at you right in the face.

Kayla questions Craig and Leo dating. Leo says it’s more than that, they’re in love which Craig confirms. Steve says he’s sorry if he doesn’t say congratulations but they still remember what Leo did to Sonny and Will. Craig gives his word that Leo is a changed man. Kayla tells Craig that it was nice running in to him. Craig asks again why the board would fire Marlena. Leo points out that being possessed by the Devil had to be a game changer.

Marlena knows John hates this but says Belle is definitely possessed. Johnny talks about seeing Belle’s eyes and says if that’s not proof, he doesn’t know what is. John wants to see it for himself. Devil Johnny touches Belle’s hand as John opens her eyes and sees the yellow eyes. Marlena asks what they are going to do. John says he’s tried to get a hold of Eric but he’s not getting back to him, so if there’s going to be another exorcism, he’s going to have to do it himself. Johnny argues that he’s not really a priest. John argues that the priesthood didn’t save Marlena all those years ago, it was their love for one another and now that same love has to save their child.

Kayla tells Leo not to believe everything he reads. Leo asks if Marlena didn’t get possessed then. Kayla argues that she didn’t say that. Steve says Marlena and John are their close friends so they are not going to discuss something Leo read about them. Leo says he’s sorry if he hit a nerve. Craig admires Kayla sticking by her friend and colleague, but he remembers how tough the board can be from when he was chief of staff. Leo thanks Craig for smoothing over the situation. Leo says they have to get going to the Brady Pub. Craig suggests they all get together sometime. Leo promises the topic of the Devil won’t come up. Leo suggests a double date this weekend. Kayla says they are so busy so they’ll have to check their calendars. Craig says some other time then as he and Leo walk away. Kayla guesses what her mom used to say is true, that there is a lid for every pot.

Sonny tells Chad that Craig won’t believe a word they or Chloe say about Leo, so they have to show him to his own eyes what a degenerate this guy is. Chad asks how he fits in. Sonny says if there’s one thing Leo likes as much as money or more, it’s sex. Will believes Leo is a sex addict. Chad questions why they care. Sonny says they have to understand Leo’s weaknesses to exploit them. Chad asks how they propose they do that. Sonny suggests offering Leo his two biggest temptations, sex and money, in one great looking package..

Steve can’t believe that a man at Craig’s age would fall for a creep like Leo Stark. Steve thinks Craig is brave for coming out at this point in life but questions him choosing a guy like Leo. Kayla agrees that it’s not a great match. Kayla asks Steve to tell her to keep her voice next time when talking about work. Steve feels it’s no big deal that Craig overheard them. Kayla brings up hearing how Craig pulled every dirty trick in the book to steal the Chief of Staff job away from Mike Horton. Steve asks if she’s worried that Craig would come after her job. Kayla says no but she wouldn’t put anything past him, especially now that he’s hooked up with a con man like Leo Stark.

Craig and Leo go to the Brady Pub. Craig can’t stop thinking about the board wanting to fire Marlena. Leo talks about Marlena becoming possessed. Craig points out that Marlena is still highly respected. Craig tells Leo that he loves him but he just wishes Chloe would find a way to accept them. Leo assures that she will come around.

Chloe thanks Brady for being her friend and sounding board through all of this when none of this mess is his problem. Chloe tells Brady that he can bail anytime he wants. Brady assures he will never do that and brings up the personal drama that she has seen him through. Brady talks about Chloe running the office and taking care of him when he got out of the hospital last year. Brady mentions that his daughter Rachel is crazy about her. Chloe assures that she will always be here for him. Brady doesn’t know what he did to deserve Chloe coming back in to his life like she has, but he’s so grateful that she has. They get close but John comes home, interrupting them. Brady asks how San Francisco was. John says he’s sorry but he can’t talk about it right now.

Johnny returns to the bedroom where Marlena informs him that John went to get the stuff he needs for the exorcism. Johnny says he still can’t get over seeing Belle that way and what she was capable of with the Devil inside of her. Marlena says they have to get her back. Johnny hopes John is able to save her soul before it’s too late…

John gathers his things while Brady asks if everything is okay. John claims he’s just working on a case and had to pick up some stuff. John says goodnight and exits. Brady is pretty sure John wasn’t telling him the truth and wonders what it is now. Brady brings up that he hopes Chloe didn’t think he was coming onto her before John came in. Brady says she knows how he feels about her but he knows she’s hung up on Philip. Chloe reveals that maybe she’s not. Chloe hopes that Philip is okay where ever he is but thinks it might be time to let him go.

Craig finishes a martini as Leo comments on him being quiet. Leo guesses he’s thinking about Chloe which he confirms. Leo wishes he would give him a chance to prove how much he loves him. Craig then gets a text from one of his friends at the hospital, informing him that Nancy has been informed them of their divorce and the reason. Leo questions why she would do that. Craig understands she’s hurt and angry. Craig says it wouldn’t be a problem but Nancy is beloved at the hospital, so if anyone thinks he treated her poorly, his career could take a hit and they could fire him for this. Craig adds that it could freeze him out of important social circles which would end his career. Leo asks who says they have to go back to New York. Craig says that’s where his career is. Leo reminds him that he said he started his career in Salem so he asks what if he comes back to pick up where he left off.

Chad questions Sonny and Will wanting to offer Leo better sex and money than he’s getting from Craig. Chad asks if they want to hire someone to pretend to be a rich guy hot for Leo. Will and Sonny say Leo would be on to that and recognize a fellow con man so it has to be the real deal. Chad says that will be pretty hard to find but Sonny says maybe not as they look to Chad.

Johnny advises Marlena to take care of herself. Marlena claims she’s fine. Johnny suggests she go get something to eat but Marlena says she’s not hungry and she’s not leaving Belle until John gets back. The Devil wonders to himself if he should get rid of Marlena right now since she’s starting to bore him and he could blame it on Belle and tell John that she broke free of the restraints. Johnny prepares to grab Marlena from behind but John returns. Johnny offers to do anything he can to help. John responds that the best thing he can do right now is leave them alone. Johnny shouts that he just said that Belle needs people around who love her. John explains that he’s telling him that he has to leave because he doesn’t want the Devil making him his next host. Johnny claims he’s not afraid and that he loves Belle. Marlena tells him that John is right that the fewer people in the room, the better. Johnny offers to stand far away but John tells him to just go downstairs and wait. Johnny realizes he can’t change their minds so he leaves the room. Marlena says she’s never actually seen this done before and has only been on the receiving end. Marlena asks what John wants her to do. John responds that he wants her to leave the room too.

Devil Johnny walks in to the living room and complains that if he’s not there when the ritual starts, John is going to find out that Belle is not possessed and they are going to figure out the truth. The Devil declares that he has to do something to get back in to the room. He then gets an idea and calls Shawn to ask him to come over right away because something has happened to Belle.

Brady questions Chloe being ready to give up on Philip. Chloe says sometimes you just have to face the reality and the reality is that she doesn’t know where he is or if he’s coming back. Chloe thinks she just has to accept that maybe Philip is dead and she doesn’t know who got to him or why. Chloe says maybe it was Kristen since she escaped around that time, but she knows it wasn’t Brady. Brady is relieved. Chloe is tired of living her life in limbo. Brady understands she’s had so much to deal with lately. Chloe says that’s what made her think about this. Chloe talks about how Craig lived his entire life in denial and she doesn’t want to live like that, denying what she feels for Brady. Brady tells her how long he’s waited to hear that and asks if she’s sure. Chloe talks about him being so patient and gentle with her. Chloe thinks it’s always been Brady as they then kiss.

Craig tells Leo that he loves New York and asks why he would want to leave that to come back here. Leo encourages that he’d be a big fish in a small pond. Leo brings up the board wanting Kayla to fire Marlena but if Kayla stands her ground, her job could be in trouble. Leo tells Craig that if they play their cards right, Craig could once again become Chief of Staff at Salem University Hospital.

Update written by Joseph

Chanel calls Allie and asks if there’s any update on her aunt Belle. Allie informs her that Marlena is keeping her sedated while trying to get a hold of John. Allie says they’ve been through it, so they’ll know how to help Belle. Allie asks how Chanel is doing. Chanel is still freaked out because the Devil looked her in the eye and told her that he was going to kill her. Allie says she’s sorry but asks her not to tell anyone as Marlena wants to keep it on the DL. Chanel tells her not to worry as she has no desire to talk about Johnny or what went down this morning. Paulina then appears and questions what happened with Johnny. Chanel tells Allie that she will call her back and hangs up. Paulina asks what Johnny did now. Chanel explains that she went by this morning to try and get Johnny to let her and Allie out of doing his stupid movie and he said he would if she dropped her lawsuit, meaning she won’t get a dime in their divorce. Paulina hopes she told him to kick rocks. Chanel responds that she would have but they got interrupted. Paulina offers to talk to TR about it. Chanel says that TR said he’d be fine letting them out of the movie, as a favor to Paulina.

TR asks Beth if they have a deal that she will keep her mouth shut about their past relationship and in exchange, he will give her a role in his upcoming movie. Beth reluctantly agrees to the deal. TR tells her that she made the right decision and she won’t regret it. Beth is unsure but TR assures that this could be her big break as he hands her the papers. Beth remarks that TR always gets his way. TR guesses he’s just lucky. Beth asks if it was just luck that the one person that she told her story to, that knows the disgusting truth about him, gets shot right after meeting with her. TR claims he had nothing to do with that but admits that poor Eli took his secret to the grave…

Shawn goes to see Julie, who notes that he looks serious and asks if something is wrong. Shawn informs her that he has bad news about Eli.

Lani complains to Abe that it seems like Eli has been in surgery forever and asks how long it’s been. Abe says they should hear some news soon. Kayla comes over and announces that Eli is out of surgery. Lani asks how it went. Eli’s mother Valerie arrives and hugs Lani, asking how her son is. Lani informs her that he’s out of surgery. Abe asks if Kayla has more to tell them. Kayla reveals that the surgeon removed the bullet without any complications, so Eli is in stable condition. Kayla adds that Eli is okay but he’s not out of the woods, so the next 24-48 hours are critical. Abe and Valerie hug Lani as she cries.

Eli lays in his hospital bed and dreams about getting shot by TR. Eli then calls out “Ray” in his sleep.

Paulina questions when Chanel spoke to TR. Chanel explains that he came by this morning with an updated version of the script but they told him that there was no way they were working with him or Johnny, and TR said he didn’t want to make them do anything they don’t want to do. Chanel guesses TR is trying to make amends with Paulina and Lani, but Johnny still has to agree. Chanel adds that knowing that TR is cool with it is huge since he’s the producer and doesn’t have to do this. Chanel guesses TR really is trying to get back in Paulina’s graces. Paulina acknowledges that TR has made it clear he wants a chance with her, but she’s still thinking about it. Chanel admits that TR did seem like a decent guy but she’s not sure she trusts him after all the hell he put Paulina through. Paulina says that was a long time ago but assures that her eyes are wide open and she won’t forget what TR did to her. Paulina adds that she told him that forgiveness has to be earned but she still has a lot of reservations. Paulina brings up everyone in town forgiving her for what she did, so it seems hypocritical to not give a second chance to others. Chanel doesn’t want to see her get hurt again. Paulina tells her not to worry about her and just focus on getting out of that movie. Paulina hopes TR can find a way to overrule Johnny. Chanel remarks that she’s sure TR won’t have a problem finding someone else to play Celeste in the movie. Beth then appears and reveals that he already has, as she is the new Celeste.

Valerie asks Kayla if the surgeon expressed any concern about permanent brain damage. Kayla says not at this point, but they will have to wait and see. Lani asks if they can see him. Kayla says they are welcome to sit with him and suggests limiting it to two for now. Abe sends his love as Kayla takes Lani and Valerie to Eli’s room. Lani goes to Eli’s side and tells him that she and Valerie are right there. Eli tries to speak, so they wonder what he’s trying to say.

Chanel questions Beth being the new Celeste. Beth confirms that she was just cast and asks if Chanel was hoping for the role. Chanel reveals she already did and was trying to get out of it for weeks. Beth asks why. Paulina informs her that Chanel’s soon to be ex-husband is the director. Chanel wonders if this means that Johnny has caved. Paulina questions why he would do that. Chanel reveals that she helped him with a family crisis, so maybe this is his way of saying thanks. Chanel asks if Beth has talked to Johnny. Beth says she just talked to TR. Chanel doesn’t care how it happened and is just glad it did. Beth asks if she should be worried about Johnny. Chanel says not at all as he is a very talented director and very passionate about this project. Chanel mentions Johnny having her try on wigs and study tarot cards which Beth questions. Beth mentions she hasn’t read the script yet as she just got cast. Beth recalls TR mentioning something about Celeste being a psychic. Beth says she would love to pick Chanel’s brain about the role. Chanel invites Beth in to the Bakery so they can chat. Beth thanks her as Chanel introduces herself and Paulina. Chanel tells Beth that she is the one helping her out as they head in to the bakery.

Shawn brings Julie to the hospital where Abe talks to them about the shooter being a known drug dealer named Frank. Shawn points out that Eli wasn’t working a case that involved him. Julie wonders if Eli was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Shawn brings up that Eli was questioning a woman right before the shooting. Abe explains that was part of a background check and that the woman told Lani that Eli had stepped out in the middle of their meeting. Shawn decides to go check on leads. Julie encourages him to find out what has happened to Eli. Shawn tells Julie that he loves her and exits the hospital. Julie hugs Abe and asks how Lani is holding up. Abe admits she’s shook up but keeping it together. Abe thinks Lani could use some additional support.

TR wishes he saved some of the heroin for himself instead of using it all on Frank but decides it’s probably for the best as he has to keep a clear head. TR believes that Eli is dead and says it should have hit the news by now. TR checks his tablet and is shocked to find out Eli is still alive.

Abe calls Paulina, who says it’s nice to hear from him. Abe informs her that there is something she should know as he reveals that Eli was shot earlier today. Paulina asks if he’s alright. Abe says he is at the moment and they are at the hospital. Paulina says she’ll be right there and hangs up.

Lani can’t make out what Eli is saying. Kayla guesses he’s just dreaming. Lani encourages Eli to relax. Eli continues dreaming about getting shot. Lani notes that he seems really agitated. Kayla encourages Lani to keep talking to him and to keep him calm. Lani tells Eli that their family is safe. Valerie adds that the man who did this to him is no longer a threat. Eli then begins having a seizure.

Allie calls Tripp and says she got his text and got all of his stuff that he left in a box, so whenever he wants her to drop it off, he can text or call her. Allie hopes he’s doing well and hangs up.

Chanel tells Beth about Celeste being a psychic and going up against the Devil. Chanel says that Celeste was the first person to sense the Devil was in Salem and mutters that she wishes she was here now. Chanel adds that Celeste was from New Orleans and had Creole accent which Beth notes she will have to work on. Beth comments that TR was right that this is a great part. Chanel calls it interesting that TR was the one who casted her. Beth guesses that she knows TR. Chanel reveals that TR used to date her mom and they have a daughter together, her half-sister Lani. Beth asks if TR and Paulina are close. Chanel says TR would like them to be, but he did some pretty bad stuff to her in the past, so she’s not sure that she can trust him. Chanel mentions that TR apologized to her and seems sincere and he claims he put it all behind him, but she doesn’t think men like that can change. Chanel notes that Paulina thinks everyone deserves a second chance, so maybe she’s right. Beth tells Chanel that she has something she needs to tell her, but she gets a call from Shawn, who asks her to come down to the police station right away.

Paulina goes to the hospital and sits with Julie and Abe. Paulina tells Julie that she’s so sorry this happened and that she knows how much she loves Eli, like they all do. TR then arrives and claims to Paulina that he just heard about Eli and asks how he is. Paulina responds that he’s in recovery and Lani is with him now. TR asks if Eli is awake. Julie says not as far as they know. TR introduces himself to Abe as Lani’s father. Julie didn’t know he was in the picture. TR calls it a recent development and asks who Julie is. Paulina explains that she is Eli’s grandmother and that Abe is the mayor. TR calls Abe the man that Lani thought was his dad. Abe clarifies that he is her dad. TR appreciates Abe looking out for his little girl and says he doesn’t know how to thank him. Abe responds that he doesn’t need his thanks. Abe declares that being Lani’s father is the greatest gift in his life and Lani will always be his daughter, so he’ll do his best to protect her which means he’s going to have to ask TR to leave.

Lani panics as Kayla begins to work on Eli. Kayla asks Lani to leave the room. Valerie agrees to take Lani out but says she will be back to help. Lani cries that they have to save Eli. Valerie promises to do everything they can.

Chanel goes to see Allie and says she thinks she has good news as she just met the new Celeste since apparently TR gave someone else the part. Allie asks if this means they are off the hook and don’t have to do the movie. Chanel hopes so. Allie notes that would be very good news. Allie adds that Chanel was just in time because she made snickerdoodles for Will. Chanel calls it nice to finally meet Will and jokes that he’s a hottie. Allie reminds him that he’s her gay brother and married. Chanel assures that she’s done dating her family and asks if they had fun catching up. Allie says they did and reveals that they spent a lot of time talking about Chanel.

Beth meets Shawn in the interrogation room at the police station and asks what this is about. Shawn informs her of Eli being shot by a local drug dealer. Beth says that’s awful but asks what it has to do with her. Shawn says that she was the last person to see Eli before the shooting, so he hoped that she could shed some light on why Eli was in the park. Beth responds that all he said was that he had something to take care of and it wouldn’t be long, but then he never came back and now she knows why. Beth comments on Lani being young to be a widow. Shawn then reveals that Eli is still alive and was just getting out of surgery, so he’s hoping soon that he will be able to tell him what really went down. Beth thinks back to warning Eli to keep TR away from his wife and kids because he is the Devil. Beth guesses that Eli being alive changes everything.

Abe asks TR to leave. TR asks why he would do that when he’s family. TR adds that he and Lani have already started to bond so he’s sure she wouldn’t have a problem with him being here. Abe argues that he does because he knows what TR did to Paulina and he’s not comfortable having him around her, his daughter, or his grandchildren. TR understands why Abe wouldn’t want him around, but assures him that he has changed and he would really like to have a chance to be here for his daughter. Lani comes out from Eli’s room so Julie asks how he is. Lani cries that she doesn’t understand as they were talking to him about what happened. TR cuts her off and quickly says he can explain. Lani questions what he could explain.

Kayla and Valerie work to try to stop Eli’s seizure.

Chanel doesn’t know if she should be flattered or scared that Allie was talking to her brother about her. Allie suggests a little of both. Chanel asks if Allie told Will that they slept together. Allie confirms that she did because she wanted him to hear it from her and she also wanted his help with figuring out what her feelings for her mean and if she’s gay. Chanel asks what Will said. Allie says that Will told her he couldn’t answer that for her but he told her about his experience and it was really helpful. Allie adds that she thought a lot about it and she understands now that her experience and Will’s are different. Allie says Will was in the closet and used to sleep with women even though he wasn’t really into it but then he came out and realized he’s gay while she’s not and she knows that because she’s definitely attracted to men but she knows she’s not completely straight because clearly she’s attracted to Chanel. Allie reveals that Will thinks that she’s bisexual and she thinks he might be right.

Shawn questions Beth saying that Eli being alive changes everything. Beth claims she just meant for Lani since she still has her husband. Shawn informs her that Lani told him that Beth met with Eli to discuss her relationship with TR Coates. Beth emphasizes that was a past relationship. Shawn asks if she can tell him what was said during that meeting. Beth calls it a private matter. Shawn understands but someone shot and injured one of his officers today, so it’s his job to find out what happened to him and in order to do that, he needs as much information as possible. Beth doubts anything she would say would be relevant. Shawn says sometimes the little things can be what cracks the case wide open. Shawn asks Beth to tell him what she told Eli and to not leave anything out.

TR apologizes to Lani for jumping in like that. Lani asks what he wanted to explain. TR claims he was just going to explain why he’s here and says he read about what happened to Eli. Lani thought Abe said he asked Shawn not to release any information to the media. Abe confirms that he did but every reporter is on social media. TR tells Lani that he didn’t mean to intrude as they just started to get to know one another, but he wanted to come show his support if that’s alright with her. Lani says it’s fine. Julie wants to get back to the subject of Eli and asks Lani what he said about the shooting. Lani says he was just mumbling in his sleep and then he had a seizure. Lani adds that Kayla asked her to leave while Valerie stayed to help, so she doesn’t know what’s happening. Paulina hugs Lani and encourages that everything will be alright. Kayla comes over and confirms Eli’s seizure but they were able to get it under control. Kayla then announces that Eli is now in a coma. Kayla says it’s impossible to predict when a patient will come out of a coma, so they will just have to let Eli’s body heal itself and then see what happens. Lani asks Abe to check with the babysitter which he agrees to do as Lani heads back to Eli’s room. Paulina encourages Julie that everything is going to be alright. Shawn returns and asks what’s going on. Julie informs him that Eli’s in a coma and asks if he found anything out about the shooting. Shawn looks at TR and says he’d rather not discuss that information in front of a stranger. TR remarks that he’s not a stranger, he’s Lani’s father. Shawn introduces himself and reveals that he just interviewed TR’s ex-girlfriend, Beth Howard. Paulina shouts out that she just met Beth and questions that being his ex. TR responds that they dated a year ago but it’s been over for awhile. Paulina asks why Shawn needed to speak with her. Shawn explains that Eli just left a meeting with Beth before going to the park. Paulina asks what the meeting was about. Shawn informs her that Eli had some questions about Beth’s relationship with TR. Paulina argues that TR told her that he got clean years ago after prison and swore he wasn’t using drugs and that he hadn’t raised his hand to another woman since. Paulina says she wanted to verify his story and Eli offered to help by digging in to his past to see if he was telling the truth. Paulina asks what Beth had to say about her relationship with TR. Abe adds that he’d like to hear the answer that himself.

Chanel asks Allie if she’s comfortable identifying as bisexual. Allie says she thinks so and that it feels right. Allie asks if that’s weird since Chanel isn’t big on labels. Chanel says she would never judge her. Allie says talking to Will made her realize how much pressure she had been putting on herself to choose gay or straight and now she knows she doesn’t have to. Allie says what helped her was remembering when Paulina found out they kissed and Chanel explained that she wasn’t gay, just sometimes she kisses girls and sometimes she kisses boys. Allie guesses she does too but some people might call themselves bisexual while others might not and that’s okay. Allie is still processing it but is seeing herself through a new lens and embracing who she is. Allie says she feels good and more at peace. Chanel says she’s happy for her. Allie just wishes she could have figured out her sexual identity before hurting Tripp. Chanel says she didn’t mean to but Allie says it doesn’t make it any less painful. Chanel asks if there’s any chance but Allie says no since Tripp made it very clear they are over, asked for his ring back, and now all of his stuff back. Chanel mentions that she made a plea on her behalf but he wouldn’t listen. Allie thanks her for trying and calls her a good friend.

Shawn says he spoke a great length with Beth and she had a lot to say. Shawn reveals that Beth confirmed that during her relationship with TR, there was no physical violence and that he was sober for the entire time. Paulina is relieved to hear that. Julie asks if Beth knew why Eli went to the park and faced off with a drug dealer but Shawn says no. Abe guesses they won’t have the full picture until Eli wakes up.

Valerie sits at Eli’s side and encourages him to come back to her. Kayla brings Lani back in to the room as Valerie breaks down crying over Eli.

Chanel tells Allie that they are in the same boat as part of her still loves Johnny but there is zero chance of them getting back together. Allie says before realizing that she was bisexual, she couldn’t imagine her and Chanel together as a couple and usually she’d say jumping into a new relationship right after an old one ends is a terrible idea, but Chanel is her best friend and they know everything about each other. Allie adds that they obviously have feelings for each other. Allie says now that they are both single, maybe this is their chance to give them a shot and see if they have a future. Chanel asks if she means as a couple. Allie says yes unless that sounds crazy. Chanel says it definitely sounds crazy but she absolutely loves it. Chanel and Allie then kiss each other.

Shawn takes Julie to the chapel to say a prayer for Eli. Paulina hopes TR understands why she had Eli look in to him. TR says of course and he’s glad she did because now she knows that he’s telling the truth that he’s a changed man. TR tells her that he’s going to be in Salem for awhile so he has plenty of time to earn her trust, which he fully intends to do, but right now they have to put their issues aside and be there for Lani. Paulina cries about Lani and the twins possibly losing Eli. Abe finishes a call and looks over to see TR comforting Paulina.

Lani tells Eli how much she loves him and tells him to take as much time as he needs to recover. Lani cries that they will be fine and she knows he will be too.

Recap written by Christine

Nate and Ashland were at Society. Nate had looked at Ashland’s scans, and there was no sign of cancer. He felt obligated to tell the Newmans. Ashland said Nate wasn’t a radiologist. Nate added that there was no record of Ashland getting chemotherapy in Genoa City. In a dark tone, Ashland warned Nate to think long and hard before he did anything rash. Nate asked if that was a threat. Ashland wasn’t threatening Nate; he just thought Nate should think through the ramifications. Ashland asked if Nate wanted to risk his friendship with Victoria by hurting her this way. Nate said he wasn’t going to be the one hurting her. Ashland was saddened that Nate was buying into the smear campaign. Nate said this wasn’t a smear campaign, it was worse. He was disgusted by what Ashland did, and he couldn’t believe he’d once called Ashland a friend. Ashland said they were still friends. Nate thought that Ashland had been conning him the whole time. Ashland denied it. Ashland said he’d never offer a job to someone he didn’t believe in – the business meant too much to him to do that.

Nate accused Ashland of faking cancer so he could take the Newmans’ company. Ashland maintained that he was being framed. Nate didn’t buy it. Ashland said Victoria loved him, and she wouldn’t believe this lie coming from Victor, or Nate. Nate said that Ashland couldn’t talk his way out of this with the Newmans. “You were never sick, and Victor’s not the one to be manipulated,” Nate said. Ashland said when he proved his innocence, Nate would wish he’d never doubted him. Ashland started to leave. Nate got up and stood face to face with Ashland. He said it was time for Ashland to come clean. “If you don’t tell them, I will,” Nate said.

Ashland left. Later, Elena arrived, and Nate told her everything. She was appalled Ashland faked cancer. Nate was questioning his judgment since he’d thought Ashland was a friend. She wished he’d come to her sooner, so he didn’t have to deal with this alone. He didn’t believe it at first, that’s why he looked into Ashland’s medical records. Elena thought Ashland was pure evil. Nate said Ashland made a few veiled threats to him. Nate kept going over this whole thing and trying to figure out what happened. He wished he could believe Ashland was set up. Elena said it was hard to believe Ashland was so warm and generous to them, while tricking everyone. Nate said it was all an act. “Who better to be his allies than two doctors. If he could fool us, he could fool anyone,” Nate said. Elena said Ashland took a risk because Nate had access to his files. She knew it must’ve been difficult for Nate to cross that line. Nate felt he had no choice. He said he owed it to Victoria and the Newmans to tell them the truth.

Nate asked why he didn’t see this coming. All the time he spent with Ashland, and he should’ve realized something was off. He realized now that he was actually coaching Ashland into accurately portraying cancer. He wondered why he took Ashland at his word. Elena said Nate was only Ashland’s friend, not his doctor – so he had no reason to question Ashland’s diagnosis or double check the test results. Nate said he was too trusting – a billionaire who barely knew him asked him to be his best man and offered him a job. Nate felt he should’ve noticed something was off. Elena said she wouldn’t let Nate beat himself up. She wouldn’t tell him what to do, but if it were her, she’d take everything she knew to Victoria. That was his initial plan, but he hated to be the bearer of the news that would crush Victoria. Nate was also worried about what Ashland would do, given that he was vicious enough to fake cancer.

At Newman Media, Victor couldn’t believe Adam was blaming Victoria for this mess. Adam said Victoria let this shark in, and she continued to defend him, even in the face of overwhelming evidence. Victor said that Ashland deceived all of them, and they’d all been fooled by love at one time or another. Victor reminded Adam that he’d been involved with a woman who accused him of attempted murder. Adam said the difference was he walked away from Chelsea when he found out what she did, and she was never a threat to the family business. Victor said they all had compassion for Adam during that ordeal, including Victoria. Victor wanted Adam to extend his sister the same courtesy. Adam thought Victoria deserved better than Ashland, but since she couldn’t see it, they might all suffer for her blind loyalty. Sally was listening outside the door, and she left. Victor said they all had things they could accuse each other of. He told Adam to stop pointing fingers at Victoria.

Adam gave up and said they could debate Victoria’s culpability in this mess another time. He said they needed a plan B to oust Ashland. Victor noted that he’d already told Adam he sent Nick to talk to Victoria. Adam didn’t have faith in that plan, since Victoria didn’t listen the last time Nick raised concerns about Ashland. Adam had a plan. Victor was interested. Adam thought they should leak the story to the press that Ashland faked his illness to take over Newman Locke. Adam said it was a win win – Victoria wouldn’t blame any of the Newmans for pushing Ashland out of the company or her life, and the negative press would drive Ashland away.

Victor didn’t like Adam’s idea, because he was worried about what the negative press would do to Victoria’s self esteem. Adam countered that Victoria was barely fazed by the bad press Ashland already received. Victor said Victoria wasn’t mentioned in those articles. Adam thought Victor was underestimating Victoria. Victor asked if Adam forgot the hit Victoria took to her self confidence after her experience with JT. Victor said it took her a long time for Victoria to trust her judgment again, and that was why he’d tried to keep this thing with Ashland away from her. Adam said it was too late to keep this from Victoria, and she didn’t care what Ashland had done. Victor said Victoria was in denial, and she would come to accept the truth. Adam suggested there was a way for Victoria to come out unscathed. Victor didn’t think that was possible. Victor said once the story was out, reporters would do their own investigation, and the company and the family would be embarrassed when people found out Ashland was able to deceive them. Most importantly, Victor said, Victoria would never forgive the family if she found out they were responsible for leaking the story. “I guess murder is out of the question,” Adam said. “Funny,” Victor dryly replied. Adam said it was a bad joke. Victor hoped Nick could get through to Victoria.

Victoria was near tears as she talked to Nick in her office. She said she didn’t know what to believe anymore. Nick asked if something came to light that made her change her mind. Victoria was wary of confiding in Nick, because she’d made the mistake of doing that before, and he betrayed her. He said he was just here to listen. She asked why she’d give him more ammunition to criticize her husband. He promised he was just here to love and support her. She said he’d outwardly and repeatedly said he hated her husband. He could see she was struggling. He could relate to wanting to ignore all the evidence that the person you loved had betrayed you. He understood that she might have to deal with this on her own. He said she could tell him as little or as much as she wanted. He was just here to listen.

Victoria was sure Victor told Nick about the theory that Ashland made up a massive lie to gain control of Newman Locke. Nick saw the video of the doctor in Peru. He asked what Victoria made of it. She said Ashland told her it was a disgruntled employee. Nick stated that he wanted to hear what Victoria thought, not what Ashland said. Victoria hadn’t concluded much. If Victor was right, Ashland didn’t love her, and she didn’t want to entertain that. She said Ashland claimed he was being slandered, but he’d had yet to indicate he was close to uncovering who was behind it. She said he just kept making this outlandish suggestion that Victor was responsible. Victoria thought it seemed like a juvenile counter-punch for Ashland to blame Victor.

Earlier today, Victor showed Victoria physical proof of money being paid to the Peruvian doctors from one of Ashland’s small divisions. Victoria sensed that Nick already knew about this. Nick said it didn’t matter what he knew or what he thought. He told her that it only mattered what she thought. She hated to admit it, but Michael’s latest evidence gave her pause. It was damning and it was extremely hard to explain it away. She was scared. Nick tensed up and asked if Ashland threatened Victoria. Victoria said Ashland had been gentle and loving, and that was why she was scared to let herself believe he could do this to her. Nick understood that, but he said that Victoria could damage herself if she buried this – it could give her a deep rooted doubt that could eat away at her. “Maybe I’m protecting myself, because if this is true…,” Victoria said. Nick encouraged Victoria to finish her thought. “Ugh, you Newmans are relentless,” Ashland said, as he appeared in the open doorway.

Ashland knew he should’ve expected Nick would be the next person to jump on the bandwagon to turn Victoria against him. Nick said the Newmans were relentless when it came to protecting their own. Nick wasn’t here because of Ashland – he was here because he loved Victoria and wouldn’t allow anyone to hurt her. He said to call if she needed him, then he left. Ashland thought Nick’s glare and demeanor cast doubt on his claim that he was there to give friendly support to his sister. Victoria looked dejected, and Ashland asked if she was okay. She silently hugged him. Nick was in the hallway, and he saw the embrace. Victor called Nick. Nick quietly brought Victor up to speed on his talk with Victoria. Nick was afraid that Ashland’s interruption had erased all the progress Nick had made getting Victoria to consider the truth. Nick ended the call.

Back at Newman Media, Adam commented on the audacity of Ashland to blame Victor for framing him. Victor said Ashland would stop at nothing – he even convinced Victoria to make him co-CEO. Adam was taken aback, and he asked when that happened. Victor said the papers were signed yesterday. Adam asked why he wasn’t informed. Victor had a lot of things to deal with. Adam said that they were all dealing with this, as a family, and as the CEO of Newman Media, he should’ve been the first to know, not Nick. Victor had to tell Nick to convince him to go talk to Victoria. Adam didn’t understand why Victor was so calm. Victor said it’d all blow over, and the Newmans would come out ahead. Adam thought Victor’s confidence was rather curious. Adam asked a question that had been gnawing at him – “Are the accusations against Ashland legitimate?” Victor asked why Adam suddenly doubted this. Adam just thought Ashland’s claim that Victor wanted to get control of Newman Locke had weight. Nate showed up and said he had the smoking gun Victor was looking for. Adam and Victor stood up.

At Crimson Lights on the patio, Chelsea told Lauren and Chloe that the business trip was a success. She made some valuable connections in NY, which made her optimistic that she and Chloe might be able to get their line out earlier than anticipated. Chloe asked if Lauren would be willing to put her marketing resources behind them. Lauren admitted she didn’t hear a word of the discussion. Chloe asked if there was word about Michael. Lauren had promised Kevin she wouldn’t file a missing person’s report until tomorrow, but she wasn’t sure she could wait. She was convinced something was wrong.

Lauren returned after making a call. She said Kevin was going to file a missing person’s report, and Rey was going to reach out to law enforcement in Peru. Chloe and Chelsea offered words of support. Lauren wished she’d listened to her first instinct to talk Michael out of working for Victor. Chelsea didn’t think Lauren should blame herself, because she never could’ve predicted this. Lauren said she actually did predict that working for Victor would be trouble. She felt like she should go to Peru. Chloe didn’t think that was a good idea, since Lauren had no idea where to go or where to look. Lauren couldn’t bear just sitting here pretending everything was okay and talking about work. Chloe said they could talk about how resourceful and clever Michael was. Chloe and Chelsea knew from experience how great Michael was at successfully arguing any case. Lauren agreed that he had a silver tongue. Chloe said Kevin always complain that he’d never win an argument with his brother. Lauren laughed and said it was one of Michael’s worst qualities – he never admitted he was wrong. She shared a story about how Michael ate the last piece of cake, then launched a counter argument so effective that he had her half convinced that she ate it.

Sally went to Crimson Lights and ordered a big cup of strong coffee. Sharon asked how the job was going. Sally griped about getting left out of closed door meetings, even though she was COO. Sally wanted to buy Sharon a coffee and get her thoughts on Adam. Sharon was curious where this was going. Sally just wanted to be the best most supportive COO Adam could hope for. She wanted Sharon’s thoughts on how Adam’s mind worked. Sharon surmised that Sally needed help navigating the Newman dynamics. Sally sensed Sharon knew Adam better than most, and she knew Sharon had history with the Newmans. Sharon had conditions – she told Sally not to expect her to praise or badmouth Adam, and she wasn’t going to reveal anything about her personal relationship with him.

Sally wasn’t trying to dig into Adam’s past. She just wanted to find more ways to support him. She really liked him, and she thought he was special. Too few people seemed to see it, but Sally thought Sharon did. Sharon agreed that she was one of the few people who’d seen Adam’s good side. She’d defended him, sometimes to her detriment. Supporting Adam wasn’t always the popular thing to do, Sharon stated. Sally didn’t care about that – she wasn’t all that popular around here either. Sally was just talking about her working relationship with Adam. Sharon inferred that Sally and Adam had a personal relationship too. Sally said it wasn’t relevant. Sharon thought that this all made things more difficult for Sally. Sally said it didn’t. She understood people who were misunderstood, and she thought she could be an effective business partner for Adam. Sharon thought Adam must agree, since, on paper, Sally wasn’t the obvious choice for COO. Sally wasn’t having problems with the workload, but Victor had her stumped. Sharon said Victor had a lot of sway over the Newmans, but she doubted Sally would crack that code. Sally was just concerned Adam would keep focusing on pleasing his father instead of doing what was best for himself.

Sharon said that trying to solve the Newmans’ daddy issues was a fool’s errand. Many tried, and there was a long list of casualties. Sally was up for the challenge. She thought she could help Adam if she could learn the dynamics. On some level, Sharon admired Sally’s honesty and commitment to her boss. Sharon saw that Adam seemed like he was in a good place – maybe Sally had a part in that, or maybe Adam finally made peace with his father. Sally said Victor loved to keep Adam guessing. Sharon said there were two things Adam needed more than anything – his father’s love and a feeling of harmony with his father. Sally was worried Adam would never be able to find that harmony, because he didn’t see himself as Victor’s equal – he was still the son trying to impress his father. Sharon said that had been Adam’s Achilles heel from the day he came to Genoa City. Sally was trying to break him of that. Nick walked in. Sharon ended the conversation and wished Sally luck. Sally said thanks for the talk and went to the patio. Nick asked what that was about.

Sharon said Sally wanted information on the Adam/Victor dynamic. “If you figure that out, let me know too,” Nick replied. Sharon asked how things were going with Victoria. Nick thought Victoria had been close to accepting the truth about Ashland, but she couldn’t quite get there. He said Ashland had his hooks into Victoria. Sharon said if the evidence was as strong as Nick claimed, it would just be a matter of time. Sharon thought Nick had decided not to get involved. Nick realized he had to. He said if Victoria didn’t open her eyes, the family would have to come up with a way to get Ashland out of her life for good.

Sally overheard the discussion about Michael. She approached and said she knew Victor had people actively searching for Michael in Peru. Chelsea didn’t know becoming COO put Sally in the loop on non-Newman Media business. Sally said she was getting to know Victor pretty well, and he was good at harnessing his resources on things like this. Lauren thanked Sally for the information, but she said she didn’t find it reassuring. Sally thought Lauren would want to hear this. Lauren was glad Sally told her, because she now knew Victor wasn’t being truthful when he told her that Michael was fine. Now Lauren was even more worried, because she knew Victor was concerned. Lauren left to pass this news to Kevin. Sally was sorry – she was just trying to help, and she thought Lauren should know about her husband. Chelsea snapped that they’d just calmed Lauren down before Sally got involved. Chloe was sure Sally didn’t mean any harm. Chloe also agreed that Lauren needed to know Victor was looking for Michael. Sally hoped she and Chloe could be friends again, and she was sorry she and Chelsea got off on the wrong foot, but she hoped they could call a truce, now that they weren’t working together. Chelsea doubted they’d ever be best friends, but she supposed she could let bygones be bygones.

Update written by Joseph

At the hospital, Lani calls Valerie and informs her that Eli has just been taken in for surgery. Lani cries that she’s so sorry. Abe arrives and hugs Lani.

TR slips a Do Not Disturb sign onto his door as Beth enters. TR tells her to relax as he’s not going to bite. Beth says she can tell that he’s been using and recalls how he beat her when he was high. Beth decides coming here was a mistake but TR warns that walking away from him would be a bigger mistake.

At the Kiriakis Mansion, Maggie calls Jake and leaves a message, saying she just got back from Chicago, hoping he can explain why there was a surprise DiMera shareholder meeting and how instead of Victor joining the board like they discussed, Johnny DiMera was installed in his place. Maggie tells Jake to call her and hangs up. Xander then enters and greets Maggie. Xander says he’s here because he wanted to tell her in person that Sarah is back in town. Maggie says she’s glad to hear that but surprised because of when she was there a few weeks ago, she was terribly hurtful and made it clear that she didn’t want anything to do with any of them. Xander reveals that it wasn’t Sarah but Ava Vitali in a Sarah mask and that the woman who dumped him on his wedding day also wasn’t Sarah, but Kristen DiMera, which shocks Maggie. Xander explains that Sarah became a threat to Kristen so she kidnapped her and made it look like she left on her own so no one would look for her. Maggie asks where Sarah has been all this time. Xander informs her that she’s been held captive on an island until Steve, Kayla, and Abigail were able to rescue her. Maggie can’t believe it. Xander confirms it’s all true. Maggie excitedly hugs Xander, relieved that Sarah is safe. Maggie then stops and points out that if this is true, Sarah never stopped loving him. Xander says maybe but right now, she only has eyes for Tony DiMera which Maggie questions.

At the DiMera Mansion, Anna complains to Tony that she didn’t sleep at all because she was in the guest bedroom, wondering why her husband was not beside her. Tony argues that she knows why they had to sleep in separate bedrooms because Sarah would pitch a fit and try to throw her out on the street. Anna argues that Tony doesn’t have to let Sarah do anything since this is their house but he is indulging Sarah’s delusion that she is Renee DuMonde and let her call the shots. Anna mocks Sarah’s fantasy that they are madly in love. Tony insists he’s not enjoying this but Kayla said this is the right course of action. Anna argues that Sarah is out of her mind, so they need Marlena to talk some sense in to her. Sarah walks in and remarks that Marlena is upstairs but she’s dealing with a woman tied to the bed.

Gwen walks through the town square and runs in to Abigail. Abigail asks if she’s going to welcome her back.

Beth questions if TR is threatening her. TR says he has an offer that she can’t refuse. TR declares that he will make her a star.

Lani tells Abe that she’s so glad to see him. Abe asks about Eli. Lani says they just took him in to surgery. Kayla comes over and assures that Eli is in the very best hands. Kayla says she’ll let Lani know as soon as she has an update. Kayla encourages them to keep praying for him.

Anna questions Sarah saying that Marlena had someone tied up upstairs. Tony suggests Sarah could be hallucinating. Sarah complains about Anna still being here and says it won’t be her home for long. Sarah notes that her attorney told her that she’d have to show proof that she is the rightful owner of the home before she can kick Anna out, but says obviously she’s a DiMera. Sarah brings up her drivers license and passport missing, so she will have her long lost brother Chad attest to her identity. Sarah then presents Tony with a contract to retain her lawyer’s services so they can initiate his divorce from Anna, so all he has to do is sign.

Maggie questions Sarah now thinking she is Renee DuMonde after reading her diary. Xander blames the drug that Kristen injected her with and says that Sarah is completely delusional. Xander tells Maggie about Sarah’s plan to have Tony and Anna divorce and to get Anna kicked out of the mansion. Xander adds that Tony has been advised to be worried about Sarah’s mental state. Maggie brings up the treatment that helped Abigail. Xander says that’s where Maggie comes in since she’s next of kin. Xander hands Maggie a paper to sign to get Sarah the help she needs. Maggie questions it being against her will. Xander explains that it’s the only way. Maggie sits down with the paper. Xander knows it’s a lot to take in but says if they want Sarah back, this is the only way. Maggie declares that she will not sign it.

Gwen tells Abigail that they were all worried about her and she’s very happy that she was rescued. Abigail questions that since Gwen hates her guts. Abigail brings up Chad trying to get the accomplice’s name from Ava but she wonders what possible reason Ava could have for wanting her gone when she barely knows her, Sarah, or Kristen, so she didn’t want her gone but Gwen has all kinds of reasons to want Sarah out of the picture and she was desperate to stop her from finding Sarah. Abigail declares that it’s glaringly obvious to her that it was Gwen that bashed her over the head.

Abe suggests Lani go home and take a shower, but Lani refuses to go anywhere until she knows that Eli is okay. Abe asks her what happened as they sit together. Lani explains that she was at the police station when Shawn came in and said there had been a shooting in the park and asked her to back him up. Lani adds that when they got there, Eli was on the ground with a bullet in his head and there was a drug dealer slumped over on the bench with Eli’s gun in his hand. Lani mentions that the dealer had been on their radar but he wasn’t an active case for Eli. Lani reveals that Eli was doing a background search on TR.

Beth laughs at the idea of TR making her a star, saying she’s heard that before. TR says he has the perfect role for her in “Possessed: The Marlena Evans Story” because one of his leads wants out due to personal issues. TR claims that Beth would be ideal for the part. Beth asks if she’d be playing the lead role of Marlena Evans. TR says she would be playing Celeste and be instrumental to the story as she totally steals the show. Beth points out that it’s not the Celeste Story. TR insists that she will bring depth to the role and promises she will make bank on this because word of mouth on this film is huge. Beth asks if he wants her to audition. TR says he already knows what she can do. Beth guesses he wants something from her. TR says just the courtesy of keeping their private history private. Beth informs him that he’s too late for that as she already gave every detail about him to Eli. TR reveals that Eli is in no condition to repeat that story.

Anna pulls Tony aside and questions if he’s going to hire this attorney and go through with the divorce. Tony says of course not. Anna asks if she should bring popcorn for this show. Sarah remarks that Anna will soon be nothing but an unpleasant memory as she offers the paper to Tony.

Xander questions if Maggie wants Sarah to get help. Maggie says she does but she’s not going to subject her to being hospitalized against her will. Maggie says she has to talk to Sarah and see her. Xander offers to take Maggie to the DiMera Mansion. Maggie asks if he’s sure he should come with her since he and Gwen are engaged. Xander admits that he loves Gwen and Sarah. Maggie points out that if Xander had any idea what happened months ago, he and Sarah would still be together. Maggie asks what he’s going to do. Xander says all he can think about right now is making sure Sarah gets the help that she needs.

Gwen laughs at Abigail thinking she was Ava’s accomplice and calls that ridiculous because she hardly knows Ava and she doesn’t know Kristen at all. Gwen brings up how Abigail was convinced she was masquerading as Sarah but came out looking like a fool. Abigail points out how she wasn’t wrong about it being someone in a Sarah mask and she was only wrong about the person in it. Gwen says she has somewhere to be but Abigail says she’s just getting to the fascinating part. Abigail goes over two different people masquerading as Sarah, who break up with Xander on two different occasions. Abigail says first Kristen did it to cover up Sarah’s kidnapping but the second time, she doesn’t know who would benefit from it except Gwen.

Abe asks Lani about Eli checking on TR’s background. Lani explains that TR told Paulina that he went to prison years ago for stealing from his clients to support his drug habit, but he got clean and hasn’t used or hit a woman since. Abe says that’s what they all say. Lani says that’s why Eli wanted to verify TR’s story, so he tracked down his ex-girlfriend Beth and she was at the police station when she got there this morning and said she just talked to Eli. Abe asks what she told him, but Lani says she never got to find out because Shawn alerted her to the shooting. Lani cries that they didn’t even know Eli was in the park until they got there. Lani didn’t know why he was there and wonders if she’ll ever be able to find out.

TR informs Beth of Eli being the one shot in the park. Beth asks how it happened and how he could know, unless he had something to do with it.

Gwen mocks Abigail wanting to pin this on her but says it’s obvious that Kristen was Ava’s accomplice. Abigail says she knows for a fact it wasn’t Kristen since Ned told her that Kristen was waiting for him on the island. Ava says maybe it was the pilot or maybe the guy who posed as Ava’s lawyer to get her out of the police station. Abigail questions Gwen knowing about that. Gwen says it’s all over the news. Gwen doesn’t care what Abigail thinks of her because she had nothing to do with her kidnapping, and now that she’s back, it doesn’t matter. Abigail argues that Sarah has lost months of her life and is drugged out of her mind, like Abigail was when Gwen drugged her. Gwen blames Abigail for leaving the syringe lying around, otherwise Sarah would be perfectly fine. Abigail points out that she made a full recovery, so she has every confidence that Sarah will too.

Maggie and Xander arrive at the DiMera Mansion. Maggie is excited to see Sarah but Sarah, believing she is Renee, comments that Maggie has aged.

Abe encourages Lani that she’ll get the whole story when Eli comes out of surgery. Abe reminds Lani that Kayla said Eli is in good hands. Abe adds that he’s young, strong, and has everything to live for. Lani cries that she knows but he didn’t have a pulse when she got to him. Lani states that Eli was gone and she had to give him CPR to get his heart beating until the EMTs got there. Abe declares that Lani saved Eli’s life. Lani worries about what if she didn’t as Abe hugs her.

TR claims to Beth that he had nothing to do with Eli’s shooting as it seems a deadbeat drug dealer shot him and then overdosed. Beth questions the one person that she told her story to, ends up shot and killed right after she met with him. TR says he’s a cop and it’s a dangerous job. TR says that coincidences happen. TR talks about his movie being based on real life. TR is waiting to hear Beth’s answer about playing Celeste. TR claims he has people beating down his door to be part of this project so this is a limited opportunity. TR asks if Beth wants the job or not.

Gwen argues that Abigail wants Sarah to go back to her old self because she’s cheering for Xander to throw her over for Sarah. Abigail states that Xander loved Sarah before he ever laid eyes on Gwen and he never would’ve dated her or proposed to her if he hadn’t believed that Sarah broke his heart. Abigail tells Gwen that she knows it’s true. Gwen says Abigail being so determined to find Sarah was not about Maggie but about wanting to get revenge on her.

Sarah apologizes to Maggie for being rude and claims the last time that she saw Maggie, she was chasing after a toddler. Sarah calls Xander “Alex” and questions what he’s doing here as she told him she never wanted to see him again. Sarah asks if Maggie let Xander drag her here with the ridiculous story that she is her daughter when she is obviously not. Sarah asks about Neil Curtis. Anna informs her that he’s dead which Sarah calls a shame. Sarah tells them that they are just in time as Tony has hired a divorce attorney so they will be free to get married and live happily ever after. Maggie then asks for the pen and the papers from Xander to sign off on making sure Sarah gets all the tests and treatments that she needs.

Abigail tells Gwen that not everything is about her. Abigail wants Sarah to get well because she’s her cousin and she loves her. Gwen points out that she is Abigail’s sister. Abigail argues that Sarah never tried to kill her before. Gwen questions if Abigail is so concerned about family then why she didn’t bother to tell Maggie that her daughter is back in town. Abigail says Maggie is out of town but Gwen reveals that Xander is with her now.

Sarah argues that she won’t let Maggie do this. Tony sees no harm in having a check up if the tests prove nothing is wrong. Sarah shouts that nothing is wrong and she won’t let any of them destroy her chance at happiness. Sarah goes to storm out but Kayla arrives with a cop. Xander reveals that he called Kayla before they left and told her they might need some assistance. Kayla asks if Maggie signed the consent form. Maggie asks Kayla to help her daughter. Sarah yells that she’s not her daughter and she doesn’t need help. Kayla says they are here to help her. Sarah complains that they are treating her like a criminal and warns them to get out of her way. The cop tells her that it would be best if she came willingly. Sarah questions if they will handcuff her otherwise. Sarah tells Tony to do something to help her but Tony says his hands are tied. Kayla promises they will take good care of her. Sarah calls Xander a bastard and says it’s all his fault. Sarah is dragged out in handcuffs as Kayla and the cop leave with her.

Beth questions TR bribing her with a movie role. TR asks if she doesn’t believe in her own talents. Beth ask if she’s going to get shot if she says no. TR insists he had nothing to do with that shooting but he thinks Beth knows it would be in both of their best interests if she signed on for the role.

Lani tells Abe that every time she and Eli walk out the door, they know there’s a chance that something will happen to them, so that’s why every time they leave in the morning, they say I love you. Lani isn’t sure if that’s the last thing she said to Eli. Abe assures that Eli knows how much she loves him. Lani points out that they didn’t even sleep together last night since she got home late and didn’t want to wake him. Lani wonders if that was their last chance to be a family together. Lani knows she should try to be positive and optimistic. Abe encourages her to feel whatever she wants. Lani thinks it’s so hard being back in the hospital where they lost their son. Abe reminds her that it’s also where their twins were born. Lani cries that Eli was shot in the head and wasn’t breathing. Abe hugs Lani as she prays for God to let Eli live.

Beth tells TR that selling out isn’t unheard of in this business and remarks on him putting his fist in her face. TR asks if they are having a #metoo moment. Beth hoped things were getting better but sees slimy jerks like him still run the world. Beth comments that her biggest role was woman #4 in a B movie. TR argues that his film will change all that and make her a star. Beth responds that maybe being a star isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. TR asks if she is saying no.

Kayla puts Sarah in a hospital bed. Sarah questions how she could do this to her when she saved her life on the island and kept Kristen from putting drugs in her food but this is how she repays her. Maggie says they are just trying to help her. Sarah cals her a bitch and shouts that her name is Renee.

Gwen tells Abigail that she can go tell Maggie that her precious daughter is back instead of harassing her. Abigail argues that she’s going to prove that Gwen had something to do with it. Xander arrives and questions what Abigail is so determined to prove. Gwen informs Xander that Abigail has accused her of being involved in her kidnapping even though she has no evidence. Xander argues that Abigail is in no position to be throwing stones. Xander talks about Sarah being a shell of herself because of some drug that Abigail left lying around. Abigail tries to explain that it wasn’t intended for Sarah. Xander argues that Abigail wanted Gwen to be her victim and then couldn’t be bothered to clean up after herself. Xander tells Abigail that what happened to Sarah is her fault so she doesn’t get to stand on her moral high ground this time. Xander asks why she is still here, so Abigail then walks away. Xander can’t believe Gwen is related to Abigail. Gwen thanks Xander for defending her. Xander starts to call Gwen the woman he loves but stops and says he loves her. Gwen asks if he’s alright as she can’t imagine him seeing Sarah like that. Xander is just glad she’s getting the treatment she needs and he hopes that she will be on the road to recovery soon.

Kayla encourages that Sarah will feel better soon. Sarah argues that she was feeling just fine before they showed up. Maggie asks for a moment alone with Sarah, so Kayla exits. Sarah tells Maggie to get out. Maggie sits down and says she knows how difficult this is, but she has no idea how much she’s missed her. Sarah shouts that she hates Maggie.

Anna tells Tony that she’s thankful Maggie and Xander got here when they did, so now Sarah will get locked in a padded cell and never darken their door way again. Anna asks Tony where he’d like to have lunch. Tony responds that they just witnessed a mentally ill woman getting dragged out against her will. Tony tells Anna to have some compassion. Tony complains that Sarah poses no threat to Anna at all but she was too selfish to show any kindness. Anna asks if Tony heard how Sarah talked to her. Tony understands how Anna must despise Renee DuMonde, but he loved her once and will never forgive himself for how she was murdered and this all reminded him of how horrible it all was. Tony says he’s sorry but he found Anna to be cruel to poor Sarah. Tony adds that as for lunch, he’s lost his appetite, so he won’t be joining her. Tony then exits the room, leaving Anna in disbelief.

TR tells Beth that she’s not fooling him as she wouldn’t be there if she wasn’t buying what he’s selling. Beth responds that his daughter deserves to know the truth about him, but she’s not going to tell her and she hates herself for it. TR knew she would see things his way and says he will have the papers drawn up ASAP.

Lani complains to Abe that it seems like Eli has been in surgery forever and asks how long it’s been. Abe says they should hear some news soon. Kayla comes over and announces that Eli is out of surgery.
