Chad went to Abby’s grave. He put flowers on her grave. He sat down to talk to her. He told her he couldn’t believe it has been a year since she died. He said he still thought about her and the baby they were thinking about having. He said sometimes it felt like he never lost her. He heard a noise behind him. He called out Abby’s name. It turned out to be Julie. She said Abby was watching over him. He asked her how she felt about him and Stephanie. She said she understood his torn feelings, but Abby would want him to make room in his heart for someone else. She said Abby would want him to be happy. He talked to her about his vision of Abby after Clyde was caught. Julie said Abby would want him to move on with his life. He said he felt guilty. She said he deserved happiness. He said the wedding ring might be holding him back a little. She told him it might be. She told him to forgive himself. She told him to let go of his survivor’s guilt. She suggested that he move on. She left. He took off his wedding ring. He said he would love Abby forever. Alex went to see Stephanie. He told her he got a job working with Brady. She said he was working with the competition. She asked how Maggie felt about it. He said he didn’t care how Maggie or Victor felt. Stephanie didn’t believe that was true. He said he wanted to tell her the news but would leave before Chad came back. He said he didn’t want to upset Chad. She said she was pretty sure he was with Abby. He said Chad was still wearing his wedding ring. She said she understood. He said she was okay about being in Abby’s shadow. He said he hoped Chad was okay.

Leo opened the door and saw Dimitri. Dimitri told him they had unfinished business. He said Leo wasn’t going anywhere until it was settled. He came in the room and reminded Leo of the jewels he stole in the Alamainian Peacock. He told Leo he was going to pay. Leo called out for help. Gwen came in to help him. She told Dimitri to get off her best friend or he was going back to prison. He got a text from Megan reminding him to make headway with Gwen. He said he would play nice. Leo left before he could change his mind. Gwen said Leo was a lot, but he had a good heart. She asked if he was up to the interview. He said he wanted to do it in her room. She said she wanted to keep things professional. He agreed and wanted to buy lunch. She wanted to know who the real Dimitri was. He said he was raised by his mother who he loved but was needy. He said he felt like the adult. He said his father was Oscar Van Leuschner. He said he was never around much. He said he may as well have been absent. He said the money didn’t make up for the lack of unconditional love. He said all he wanted was to be loved. She asked if he had feelings for anyone. He said he did, but he kept getting hurt. He said he knew she knew what he was talking about with Xander.

Megan reminded Dimitri about his lunch with Gwen. He said he wasn’t going. He was looking at the will. He said she left out a few details about marrying for his inheritance. He said he had to be married for a year and if it was proven that it was under false pretenses, he wouldn’t get anything. She said he didn’t have to be upset about it. She said he could charm and romance Gwen. He said he was hoping he would have fun when he got out of prison. He said that would be hard if he was playing a devoted husband. Roman told Kate that there were no leads on Abe. He said he was going to help John and Steve look for him. Harris showed up and said he was there to keep an eye on Megan. He thought Roman would want him to stay away. Paulina was on the phone when Whitley came in the hospital room. When Whitley was about to leave, Paulina stopped her. She thanked Whitley for taking care of Abe. She said she didn’t know how they would have done it without her. Whitley said it was a joy to take care of him. She said it was terrible that Colin kidnapped him. Paulina said Colin wasn’t the kidnapper. She said she didn’t know if she would ever see Abe again. Whitley comforted her.

At Whitley’s house, Abe was watching TV. Rafe knocked on the door. Abe paused the show. Rafe yelled out that he was the police and wanted to talk to Whitley. Abe recognized the voice. He thought about Whitley telling him not to open the door to the police. He didn’t answer the door. Rafe ended up leaving. Roman told Harris that he hated what happened between him, Bo and Hope, but he stuck his neck out for Kate. Roman said he owed him. When Roman left, Kate talked to Harris. He said he needed to find a job. She said she would pay him to get rid of Megan. Megan told Dimitri that pretending to be married was worth the fortune he would get. She said they had to share the DiMera fortune but the Von Leuschner fortune was all theirs. He told her about saying it was theirs. She reminded him of the things she has done for him. She said he could pay her back by charming Gwen so they could get the money. When he left, Kristen showed up and wondered what they were going to do with the money. Rafe went to Paulina’s room at the hospital to talk to Whitley. Whitley told Rafe that Abe was confused. She said she told his doctor about his situation and hadn’t seen him since. She said she wished there was more she could do. Kristen asked Megan about her plans. Before Megan could answer her, Dimitri showed up. He said he didn’t know how he was going to convince Gwen to marry him. Megan said Gwen was desperate for a man in her life. Kristen told him to play on her pain over Xander using and abusing her. Megan gave him a dossier of Gwen. Harris told Kate that he only killed because he was brainwashed. She said she knew he still had it in him. She said she had a lot of money which he needed. He said he could never be a hitman no matter what Megan did to him. He said she had to find someone else. She told him to give it some thought. While Abe was watching TV, a report came on about him running for mayor. He realized it was him.

Paulina went into the interrogation room yelling at Colin to tell her where Abe was. Rafe tried to pull her away when Sloan walked in. Sloan said Colin had nothing to do with Abe’s disappearance. Colin said he would take them to him if they let him out of there. Whitley listened to Rafe’s message. She watched Abe sleeping. He had a dream about Paulina. He dreamt that he saw her at the hospital. When he woke up, he told Whitley that he had a dream about her, but she didn’t look like herself. While Colin and Sloan were alone, she asked him to tell her the truth. He said he didn’t know anything about the mayor. He said it was the perfect way to escape. He said he didn’t want to go to prison. She told him he didn’t have a choice. Abe told Whitley that she looked different in the dream. She went to make him eggs and sausage. He said she must have memory problems too since he hates sausage. He asked her to turn on the TV. She told him they had to stay away from the news. He asked if she was his wife or mother. She said she had to watch out for his mood swings. He picked up the remote control.

Paulina told Rafe she wasn’t leaving the station until she found out what Colin knew. Sloan showed up and told them Colin didn’t know anything about Abe. Jada told Talia turning Colin in helped her case. Talia said she wasn’t a hero. She said she was scared of him. She said she got an adrenaline rush when she thought he forgave her and almost left with him. She was upset that she betrayed him. Jada said she should see a therapist to work out her feelings. Talia said she didn’t see a point since she was going to prison. Jada asked where the strong woman she knew went. Talia said it was all an act. She said she didn’t think she measured up, so she pressured herself to succeed. Jada complimented her. She apologized to Talia for not knowing she was suffering. Jada suggested she talk to Marlena. Talia agreed to talk to her. Abe couldn’t get the cable to work. Whitley told him she couldn’t afford to pay the bill. She unplugged the TV. He asked if he had a job. She said he was retired. She said he used to own an ice cream shop. She said he could watch 15 years of her favorite stories on tape. When she was about to leave for work, she told him not to open the door to anyone especially the police since his assailant was impersonating a police officer. Rafe went to find Whitley. Jada told Sloan that Melinda was on her way to throw the book at Colin. Sloan said Colin wouldn’t plead guilty. She said she didn’t like what her brother did, but she still loved him. She said she assumed Jada felt the same way. They ended up arguing. She told Jada to stop worrying about Colin and focus on finding Abe who disappeared on her watch. Rafe showed up at Whitley’s place while Abe was watching TV.

Rafe and Jada talk about Abe’s disappearance. Rafe believed that someone must have seen Colin take Abe out of the hospital. Jada wondered if Whitley King might have seen something. She thought she would have seen something since she was the floor nurse the night Abe was abducted. Rafe called for Whitley’s contact info. Abe let Whitley know that her place didn’t feel like home to him. She told him that their daughter showed him their wedding photo. She tried to give him a stuffed animal, but he didn’t want it. She assured him that things would seem normal again in time. Julie went to visit Paulina at the hospital. Paulina blamed herself for what happened to Abe. Julie told her that she was a blessing to the people in her life. Paulina found out that Talia was out on bail and she was upset about it. She was worried about Abe. Colin grabbed Talia from behind. He ordered her not to scream. He took his hand off of her mouth and he yelled at her for betraying him. She told him that she only stopped him from killing Chanel and Paulina so he wouldn’t spend life in prison. She wanted to know why he was still in Salem. He refused to leave without the woman he loved. Whitley went to the kitchen to make something to eat. Abe turned on the TV and he saw the story about Colin. Whitley turned off the TV. She didn’t think he should hear about his attacker. Abe didn’t agree with that. Whitley got a call from an unknown number so she ignored it. She took the remote on her way back to the kitchen.

Rafe got Whitley’s voicemail. Jada wanted to see Whitley in person. Colin couldn’t imagine life without Talia. He pulled her arm so she could go with him, but she didn’t go. She wanted to know what he did with Abe. Chanel knocked on the door and called out to Talia. Colin grabbed for his gun. Talia convinced Colin to let her talk to Chanel.  He hid while she opened the door. Chanel walked in and started yelling at Talia. Talia blamed her for seducing a married man and killing his wife. Colin smirked while he was in the bathroom. Chanel asked her about Abe. She told her that she didn’t know where she was. Talia told her that she only stopped Colin from killing her so he wouldn’t go to prison. She pushed Chanel out of the door. She slipped Chanel the police badge and mouthed for her to help her. Chanel went downstairs and told Johnny that Colin was upstairs. Johnny called Rafe. Rafe and Jada raced out the door. Talia kissed Colin. She thought they should leave. He turned for the door and noticed the badge was missing. He grabbed her and thought she gave the badge to Chanel. Whitley wanted to fix the bed for her and Abe. Abe didn’t feel comfortable sharing a bed with her when he didn’t remember her. She was willing to set up the sofa bed. She said they had their entire lives to snuggle with each other. Abe feigned a smile. Rafe and Jada heard Talia screaming as they approached the door. Colin grabbed Talia as Rafe kicked the door open. Rafe and Jada had their guns on Colin. Colin let Talia go and released his gun. Rafe arrested Colin. Jada held Talia.

At the police station, Rafe yelled into the phone about a top priority situation. Belle and Talia went to Rafe’s office. Talia was out on bail because she agreed to testify against Colin. He was happy about that except for the fact that Colin escaped. Leo told Jada about seeing Colin. Leo asked her about Talia and Colin. Jada said Talia was in an abusive relationship. He asked if he could quote her on that. She tried to backtrack. He told his father was physically abusive. She said Talia was emotionally abused. He said he could understand how that felt because of his mother. She said she knew she couldn’t stop him from printing what he wanted, but she wanted him to consider not using the story. Gwen walked into the DiMera mansion as Megan was talking about finding a good wife for Dimitri. Gwen said she was looking for a scoop on Dimitri. Megan said she came to the right place. Kristen introduced Gwen to Megan. Megan asked how they knew each other. They said Kristen blackmailed Gwen into helping her escape custody while Kristen helped Gwen get pardoned. Gwen asked for an interview with Dimitri. He didn’t want to do the interview, but Megan told him not to be hasty. Talia thanked Belle for her help. Belle left Rafe’s office. Talia apologized to Rafe for what she did. She said she knew it was a bad look for Jada. He said Jada didn’t care about that. He said she cared about Talia which was why she got her a lawyer. Gwen told Dimitri her interview would give him a chance to clear up any rumors. He didn’t care about the rumors. Megan wanted to talk to him. Megan told Dimitri that his interview wasn’t about good PR. She said it was about making Gwen his wife. He asked if she wanted to be in love when she got married. Megan said there wasn’t any time for that. if he wanted the Von Leuschner fortune. She told him to forget about love and convince Gwen to marry him. He wanted to know why it had to be her. She told him Gwen had great qualities.

Gwen told Kristen that she would do anything to get an interview with Dimitri. Kristen reminded her that she stole the paper from Jack. She asked Gwen about working with her ex. Gwen said that was the worst part since he brought Chloe on to work for them. Kristen said she could give her tips on how to deal with Chloe if she wanted Xander back. Gwen said it was time to move on from him. She wanted to find someone new. Chloe was upset with Xander because she was attracted to him. He wanted to know why she was upset. She reminded him of the things he has done. He told her to stop fighting her feelings and give in to her desires. She said things could get complicated since they work together and live together. He said they could see how it went since she was getting over Brady. She asked him about Sarah. He said he still had feelings for her, but he knew that was over. She said she was with half of his family. She said she needed to swear off the Kiriakis men. He said he was the best of the bunch. When Belle went home, she was surprised to see Shawn. After they hugged, she asked if he was drinking. He said he was, but not enough. She asked him why he was drinking. He said it was because he shot his father and put him in a coma. He said he father was hanging on by a thread and his mother was a wreck. He said there was nothing he could do about it. He said he hoped Megan didn’t find out where Bo was. She said Megan was in Salem. He was going to give her a piece of his mind. She told him he was in no position to drive. He said Megan needed to answer for what she did. Belle said he was right. She wanted his keys. He gave them to her. He said he couldn’t put the entire blame on Megan because he was the one who pulled the trigger. He got more to drink. She asked him to stop drinking and come to bed. He told her to leave him alone. She said she loved him and went to bed.

Megan was happy to see Dimitri at the DiMera mansion and home where he belonged. Kristen wasn’t happy about him being there. She rehashed what happened with the Peacock caper. Megan wanted her to let it go since they were going to be married. Dimitri and Kristen were surprised by her announcement. Kayla approached Nicole, Eric and EJ about the paternity test results. NIcole wanted them to go somewhere private, but Kayla was dealing with Abe’s disappearance. Nicole was shocked by the news. Eric wanted to know if Nicole was okay. EJ stepped up and assured her that DiMera security would help with the search. Kayla handed Nicole the results and left to meet with the head of the hospital. Sloan was upset about what happened with Colin. Jada showed up at her place with a warrant. The women start arguing. Sloan told her to go on with the search. She was dealing with enough since Nicole was pregnant. Jada was shocked. Sloan told her that Eric might have got Nicole pregnant. She blamed Talia for drugging the biscuits. Sloan thought she brought up bad memories for her since she would still be with Eric if she didn’t get an abortion. She thought he would get to be a father after all. She let Jada know that Colin was talking to Leo. She told her to talk to him about it.

Nicole read the results with her back to EJ and Eric. She turned to them and told Eric that he wasn’t a match. EJ became excited. He had a feeling that he would be the father. He thought it was a miracle. Eric congratulated them. EJ knew it was hard for him, but it was best for everyone. Eric walked to the elevator as EJ held Nicole. EJ said that it changed everything. Nicole’s face fell as she agreed with him. Megan reminded Kristen and Dimitri that they weren’t blood related and that Stefano groomed Tony and Kristen to be together. Kristen and Dimitri passed on the idea. Megan reminded him that he was going to inherit the Von Leuschner fortune, but he had to be married by the time he turned 40. She told him that he was 39. He wanted to know how much money was involved. She said it was more than enough for her and Kristen to take over the world. She thought Dimitri would agree to go through with the plan. Eric went to Sloan’s place. He told her that he wasn’t the father of Nicole’s baby. Sloan admitted that she was hoping that was the outcome. She knew he was hurting about it. Eric said it wasn’t the right time. He assumed it was for the best. EJ wondered if they should tell everyone the news or keep it quiet. Nicole wasn’t sure if she would carry the baby to term. He wanted her to get the best care possible. Dimitri decided not to marry Kristen. Kristen agreed with him. She didn’t think she could win her custody case if she were married to her nephew. Megan said they would have to find someone else to marry him. Gwen showed up there looking for him. Sloan told Eric that she hated seeing him in pain. He was happy to be there with her and he was looking forward to their future together. Sloan flashed back to taking the DNA sample. She watched Eric sleep. She couldn’t risk losing him. She wanted the test to come back negative. She swabbed her own cheek instead of Eric’s.

Harris went to see Steve. Steve told him they didn’t need his help to keep an eye on Megan. He said he and John could handle it. He said Harris would be one more person he couldn’t trust. He told Harris to leave Salem if he wanted to help. Megan and Kristen had a drink at the mansion. Stefan and Gabi came in with a plan to get rid of EJ. Megan wanted to know what was in it for them. Gabi said they would play a big role in the company. She handed them the plan to make DiMera better. Their pictures were in the folder. Nicole told EJ that she wasn’t menopausing. She told him she was pregnant. He asked why she didn’t tell him. He realized she didn’t tell him because the baby wasn’t his. She told him she didn’t know because it might be Eric’s. He thought she didn’t want to marry him because the baby might be Eric’s. He asked if she would want Eric back if the baby were his. Eric told Marlena that Nicole was doing a paternity test. She asked him how he felt about that. He said part of him was hoping the baby was his. He said he felt bad about that. He said the last thing Sloan would need is for him to have a baby with another woman. He said she was a woman he still had feelings for. Marlena asked if he wanted to get back together with Nicole if the baby was his.

Harris told Steve they didn’t have to be friends. He said they should put their differences aside to make sure Megan didn’t go after Hope. Kayla showed up while they were talking. Kayla welcomed Steve home. He told her why Harris was there. She said they needed all the help they could get with Abe missing and Jada dealing with Talia. Kayla got a message about the test results and had to leave. Megan and Kristen told Stefan and Gabi they would think about their plan. When Stefan and Gabi left, Megan threw the plans in the fireplace. Megan couldn’t believe Stefan and Gabi thought they would want pitiful jobs. Kristen thought they should be running DiMera instead of their brothers. Megan said her ambitions were beyond DiMera. She said the world feared Stefano. She said his other children had their chance to copy him. She said it was her turn. Kristen asked if she wanted to be her father’s daughter. Megan said she was his daughter. She said just like the Phoenix, she was rising again. Kristen said world domination required money. She said she didn’t control the money. Megan said she didn’t need family money. She had another plan. Nicole said keeping her baby a secret wasn’t about getting Eric back. She said she kept it a secret so she could tell him they were having a baby. She said she was scared she wouldn’t be able to carry the baby to term. He told her there were medical advances. She said she hasn’t made an appointment with a specialist yet. She said she was taking it one step at a time. He wanted to know how Eric found out. She said Sloan found out. She said Anna and Tony knew too. She said they would have the results soon. Kayla called. Megan told Kristen that she wasn’t going to reveal her plan yet. She said she wanted all the pieces together for when Bo regained consciousness. Kristen wanted to know what her role was in it. Megan said it is vital. She said she needed her. Kristen said she wanted something in return. She wanted custody of Rachel. They started talking about Dimitri. He ended up showing up. When Nicole got off the phone with Kayla, she asked EJ to go to the hospital with her so they could get through this no matter what. He said nothing would make him happier than her having his child. Nicole sent Eric a message to meet her at the hospital. At the hospital, EJ wondered why Nicole sent Eric a message. She said she only wanted to do this once. EJ was upset when he saw Eric. EJ said Eric couldn’t be the father. He said she was only with Eric once while they have been having sex for a while. She told him it wasn’t a competition. She said it was about a child. She said it broke her heart that something she was longing for could end badly. She needed them to help her get through it.

At the hospital, Sloan found the cop in Colin’s bed. He told her Colin left. She yelled at him for not doing his job. Rafe came in and uncuffed the cop. She ended up yelling at Rafe. He reminded her that she could have stopped this sooner. She told him she didn’t know where Colin was. Abe called out to Paulina. The nurse said she was his wife. She said she was going to take him far away from anyone who was going to hurt him. Chanel looked for Abe. She told Paulina that he wasn’t scheduled for any tests so he should have been in his room. Eric showed Nicole the swab. He told her he knew she was pregnant. She tried to lie, but he said Sloan told him everything. Nicole admitted that she was pregnant. He was upset with her for lying to him. She said she lied to EJ too because she didn’t know who the father was. Rafe put out an APB on Colin. He and Sloan continued arguing. Paulina and Chanel ran into them. Paulina told him Abe was missing. He told her Colin was missing too. She was afraid Colin took Abe. The nurse took Abe to her house. He asked if that was where they lived. She had cat pillows, stuffed animals and figurines in her house. He asked her about the cats. She said she was allergic to cats and he loved them. He said that didn’t sound familiar. She started sneezing. He said she wasn’t allergic to dust. She said she didn’t have time to clean up with him in the hospital. She said Whitley wasn’t much of a housekeeper. He asked who Whitley was.

Nicole told Eric she didn’t want to get his hopes up only to break his heart. She said she would do it anyway if he was the father and she can’t carry the baby to term. He said he would never blame her for that. He said there have been medical advancements. He said a fertility doctor could tell her what to do. She said she couldn’t think of that until she knew who the father was. She apologized for being a wreck. He told her not to apologize. He said they were friends. She said they were. He asked what they were going to do next. She said there was nothing to talk about until she found out who the father was. He gave her the swab and left. The nurse told Abe that Whitley cleaned for them monthly. He said he didn’t remember her. He said he needed to rest, but he needed to know what was going on. He told her they should call Chanel. The nurse asked who Chanel was. He said her daughter. She pretended to call her. Paulina had a panic attack. Rafe and Chanel tried to help her with her breathing. Paulina was going to be admitted in the hospital because her blood pressure was high. Rafe told her Abe was going to be okay because he was strong and a fighter. Paulina said he just had brain surgery. She asked how he was supposed to fight. Chanel said her love for Abe will get him through it. Paulina said he might not even know who he is. She said he might not know he is in danger.

Talia and Jada were in the interrogation room. Jada told Talia that Abe was recovering from surgery. Talia was glad he was going to be okay. She was also happy that Colin wasn’t going to be charged with murder. Jada was furious. She asked how Talia could be worried about Colin. She said Talia should be worried about herself. Jada said Trask was going to throw the book at her. Colin woke up in his hospital bed. He saw a nurse with dark hair. He asked her what she thought she was doing. When she turned around, she wanted to know what he was talking about. He apologized to her. He said he thought she was Paulina. She asked if all black women looked alike to him. He said he saw her from behind. He said he was on edge. She said he was nasty and rude. She yelled at him for what he did to Abe. She told him he needed to repent for his sins. Paulina was in Abe’s room. His eyes were closed and his head was bandaged. Paulina wanted him to open his eyes. Chanel came in the room. She told Paulina that he needed time to recover. Paulina said she couldn’t take it anymore. She left to see Kayla. Chanel apologized to Abe. He woke up. Sloan held the swab in her hand while she was talking to Nicole on the phone. They made plans to meet at the park. Nicole said she was thankful she got the swab. Sloan said she hoped Eric wasn’t the father. When Nicole got off the phone, she told Anna that Sloan got Eric’s DNA. Anna said what would it mean for her and EJ if the baby is Eric’s. Nicole said she has been so stressed that she hasn’t thought about it. Anna said EJ would be upset. Nicole thought he would be upset too since he said he loved her and proposed to her. Anna was happy about the news. Nicole told her why she turned him down.

Eric went to Sloan’s place with food. She said she would take it with her when she went to the hospital to see Colin. He reminded her to take a test. She asked him why she had to take a test. He mentioned the viral outbreak. She said the hospital contained it. He said he knew she was lying. He wants to know what she and Nicole were up to. She told him Nicole is pregnant. When Abe woke up, he asked Chanel who she was. She told him how they were linked to each other. She showed him a picture of Paulina from their wedding. He said he never saw her before. Chanel went to get a doctor. Rafe went to see Colin. Rafe told him about the crimes he was going to be charged with. He said since Colin was well enough to be discharged, someone was on their way to bring him to the station. Colin said if anyone should be charged with murder it was Talia. Rafe said Talia was going to be arrested for her part in the crime. Colin said he didn’t make her do anything she didn’t want to do. Jada asked Talia how she could have terrorized people she didn’t know. Talia said she was afraid to lose Colin. Jada said she was a better person than that. Talia said she tried to talk Colin out of it, but he got mad. Jada asked if he ever hurt her. Talia said he never hit her. She said he would buy her things and apologize when he got upset. Jada told her to snap out of it. Jada was upset that she didn’t know she was in an abusive relationship. Talia said Colin never hit her. Jada said there was other kinds of abuse. Sloan told Eric everything. She told him she got his DNA while he was sleep. She showed him the swab she was going to give to Nicole. He told her to go see Colin. She gave him the swab and said she hoped this didn’t change things between them if the baby is his. Anna asked Nicole if she loved EJ. Nicole said she cared for him, but she was confused. Anna asked if she loved Eric. Nicole said she knew Anna was her side, but she wanted her to stop asking questions. The nurse that was in Colin’s room went to see Abe. He recognized her as his wife. He said a young woman named Chanel said she was her daughter. The nurse said she couldn’t believe someone would attack him. She said the worst part was he was still in danger because his attacker was in the hospital. Rafe went to Colin’s room and found the cop handcuffed to Colin’s bed. Chanel and Paulina went to Abe’s room. His bed was empty. Paulina wanted to know where he was. The nurse was pushing Abe in a wheelchair to the elevator. She told him he was safe now. When Nicole was about to leave the mansion to meet Sloan, Eric was there.
