And he insisted it was fine for him to come downstairs and eat the soup in front of the big tv and I insisted, no, he’s still recovering from the flu and he should stay put and have the soup upstairs in bed. Uhhuh, I can guess who won that argument.

It wasn’t easy. Oh, thank you so much for spending time with him earlier. There’s nothing he loves more than a good game of gin rummy. Yeah, we, I mean, like I told him, there’s, there’s nobody I would rather spend time with. No, I’m grateful he took his mind off Abraham for a little while. Oh. And he lifted my spirits as he always does.

I’m so glad. So, um, what are your plans this evening, darling? I noticed you set out the good silver and the good napkins. Well, um, if it’s, uh, if it’s okay, I was, uh, hoping to have Stephanie over for dinner. There’s our baby girl. Hi. The, uh, the Juneteenth celebration was just incredible food, music. Oh. You had a strange encounter with Bonnie. Isn’t every encounter with that woman strange? Now this was stranger than usual. How so? Well, she was nervous, like super jumpy, scared. Really? When I walked in, she screamed at me to stay back and then ran behind the couch. Well, maybe she has a little bit of PTs. D From that time you held her prisoner in the garden.

She, yeah, I mean, obviously that’s what I thought too, but no, Bonnie assured me that she’s forgiven me for all that. Then why would she tell you to stay away? Well, her excuse was that she had some terrible cold and she didn’t want me to catch it.

So after you left to go meet with your client, I gave myself this pep talk, you know, I said, body girl, you got this. You just gotta steer clear as Xander. And I turned around. Boom. There he was. You must have been surprised. Surprised. No, I was terrified. God. It was like being in a horror film where you’re peeking around the corner looking for the killer and you turn around and he is been behind you the whole time.

God, I was so shocked to see Zander there. I, I just, I couldn’t think straight. I, I just, the more kept trying not to tell him what I knew. The more it got closer to blurting it out, it was like I was a pressure cooker ready to blow, you know? I’m just so glad I have a release valve. What’s that? Oh honey, you, if I wasn’t able to tell someone I’d be climbing the damn walls, I am just so grateful.

You don’t have a problem keeping Sarah Secret. You know, actually Bonnie, I do.

So Bonnie may have reacted a little over the top, but maybe she was trying to be considerate and try not to get you sick. Yeah. But that wasn’t really even the weird part. It wasn’t, no, no. As I was leaving, I found out that Nicole was pregnant. I got a news alert on my phone and when I read it, I went, oh wow, she’s pregnant.

And Bonnie replied with, she told you she’s pregnant. Why would Bonnie think that Nicole would tell you personally that she’s pregnant? Right? I mean, everyone knows Nicole and I aren’t exactly pal’s, honestly, I, I got the impression that Bonnie thought I was talking about someone else.

You have a problem keeping Sarah’s secret. Why didn’t you tell me this before? Well, you didn’t gimme a chance. You just handed me a dollar. So we’d have attorney client privilege. No, wait. Hang on, hang on. I filled you in and told you we had to keep this between us, and then Maggie interrupted us. But after she left, you didn’t say a word.

Because I’m terrified of public speaking. It’s basically my biggest fear. I mean, I, I, I start to sweat, I trip up on my words. I, I, my hands are clammy just thinking about it.

And then this, yeah, this calm just kind of washed over me. And then, like you said, I got through it and you will too today. You know you’re gonna be the one up there at the microphone, but. It’s always easy to see looking back at it, right? And I know that my situation is way different from yours, and I’m not trying to make any excuses for what I did at all. But you and your mom were so good to me, and a part of me felt like I needed to stop Collin’s plan right then, but, but you didn’t. But I didn’t know how Chanel, when he asked me to seduce you and then break your heart, look, I didn’t think that it would happen.

on June 19th, 1865, where it finally reached Galveston, Texas, that the Civil War had ended two months earlier, or importantly, it was a day that the last enslaved people in the United States learned that they were free. That next year, the first Juneteenth celebration was held in Texas. But soon as the families moved elsewhere, they took that tradition with them,

uh, Juneteenth spread all across the country. And finally, last year, Juneteenth became a federal holiday. This day has been known in various parts as Jubilee Day. Emancipation Day and even Black Independence Day. It’s also the day that I, um, no, it’s also the day that my dad calls his anniversary. And today as every day, we celebrate with a mixture of joy, for freedom, sadness, for our years of hardship, and for those still struggling.

I know for a better, brighter future.

And darling, you gotta have faith. Faith in the good Lord. I do have faith Mama. In both the good Lord and in Abraham. Well, you hold on tight to that faith. Okay?

And honey, I know this is supposed to be a day of celebration, but as I recall, your wedding day was not exactly a day of sunshine and roses. No. No it wasn’t. Dam it ej. I am more concerned about Megan killing Stephan than Nicole killing you. Why would she? What do you mean by that? For God’s sake? I was being facetious. Ohm supposed to be with Nicole right now at an appointment with a perinatologist, an expert in high risk pregnancies, one of the most sought after specialists in the country.

It was almost impossible to get an appointment, but I managed it. I am relieved because I thought Nicole had suddenly become homicidal. No, of course not. And honestly,

finding out that I was to be the father of her baby, I wouldn’t have predicted that it would mean so much to me. As you are well aware, she’s, she’s had a history of miscarriages and it’s all very heartbreaking, so her and I are very, very eager to find out what her chances are of carrying our baby to turn.

But now here I am with the appointment only an hour away, and our sadistic sister has got me tied up tighter than a rodeo calf. Yes.

Oh, Nicole, I’m so good you’re here. I just got a message from the perinatologist, so she should be here within the hour. Where is he? Jay? Is he around? Oh, you mean the man who’s supposedly excited to be the father of my child.

Putting aside your comprehensive knowledge of my rather checkered history with members of the opposite sex, how many bruises and bumps has my self-esteem and my ego sustained?
