Luna’s my daughter. All this time. And I am sorry that I didn’t tell you. I swear, I didn’t know for sure. But, Finn, what you’re thinking now– you cannot tell Steffy. She’s my wife. Are you insane?

Of course I’m gonna tell her.

Finn… think this through. Everything my wife and I have faced, everything we have overcome… …learning about Luna might be more than Steffy can take. There it is, that secret love language just you two have. It’s really sweet. We’re just lucky we found our way back to each other. You say a million things in just a glance. That makes me think about my husband, even though I just saw him.

[laughs]

Does Finn… does he know about what you’re doing at Forrester? Yeah. And he’s really supportive. Well, he knows that the takeover is weighing on me, but… hey, I’m just really thankful that I get to go home to him.

He keeps me grounded.

Well, you do the same for him. I’ve never seen a man so in love. Well, I think it’s a toss-up between you two. I have to say, not professionally, but personally… everything is really wonderful right now. Hey, Mom, what’s up? What’s wrong? Nothing. I’m just… I’m just grateful to our son-in-law coming through for you. Hate to think what would have happened if he hadn’t rescued you from his… very disturbed cousin. Whatever you’re thinking, those are impossible to take off. I’m sure you’re feeling a bit stir-crazy. Yeah, you got me there. [laughs] To think not too long ago, I wanted to stay in this house. I wanted to be here for good. I’m not complaining. I mean, being confined in this beautiful estate instead of a prison cell? There’s no contest on where I’d rather be. I know the rules but, um, I have to ask. My mom and my cousin came to visit me at the prison earlier. Will they ever be able to learn that I’m living here? [edgy music plays] You doing all right, sweetheart? I mean, I’m not happy with the company, but… I’m glad that you two are back together. And Finn and the kids, they’re great. No, I mean regarding Luna. Talking about her has to bring up some intense memories. Listen, what she did to you–

I mean, she–

You were a victim. But you survived. It’s a lot to process, and I know you’re very strong…

One of the strongest.

But I just wonder if you’ve really dealt with the impact of what you’ve been through with Luna. I pulled a lot of strings to have you under house arrest here. There’s a lot at stake for me having you in my home. No one would understand. But I truly believe that it’s worth it. Clearly, you’re remorseful. And given what you went through as a child, I believe you deserve a second chance. I know this is relatively… difficult for you– and it should be– but as you pointed out, it’s a hell of a lot better than being behind bars. So for now, I suggest, uh, you take it one day at a time, do the work, and we’ll see what happens. But right now, this is the only path forward. [sighs] God, I’m so horrified by what I’ve done. I can only imagine that Finn came to see me and say how hurt and disgusted he is by me. And clearly, I deserve it. [sniffling] I’ve been having this recurring dream lately where I-I see Finn and he’s with Steffy and the kids and they’re smiling and they’re so happy to be together. They’re this beautiful family. And then they see me and I wave and I start to make my way over, but then they turn and they run away from me like… I’m the most terrifying monster they’ve ever seen. And I call out to them, “Don’t be afraid. I’m not gonna hurt you.” How does it end? That’s the thing. In the end, Finn always gives me one last look. And it’s not fearful, but… definitely not with acceptance or forgiveness. I guess he just… sees me and he’s like…sad. And disappointed. And then, um, I don’t know, this is hard to explain, but I get this sensation in my stomach. And I look down, and there’s this string. And so I-I start to gather it, and I see that i-it’s tied to Finn. Like even as he goes away, it’s still connected to me. And I know it’s weird, but somehow it gives me hope. Is that so naive of me to think that Finn might somehow be able to see me differently? I mean, we’re still family after all, right? Maybe we can… I don’t know– redefine our relationship? [somber music plays] Luna killed two men. She tried to kill my wife, and now I learn that she’s my daughter? And how am I supposed to deal with that? How’s Steffy supposed to deal with that? Well, she won’t have to deal if you don’t tell her. [heavy music plays] I can’t stop thinking about Luna and the connection we share. I mean, that changes everything. When you were pregnant, you told me that there was no way I could be the father. I wasn’t sure, Finn. All I did know was that I wanted you to have the future that you deserved. Well, I could have made a real difference in her life. I was trying to protect you, Finn. And part of me can’t help but wonder… I mean, Sheila… is Luna’s grandmother. All these crimes that she’s committed–was it in her blood? No, no. Let’s not go there, okay? Think about how good you are and the life that you’ve created and all the lives that you’ve saved. Yeah, but what about all the lives that Luna, my daughter, has taken away… the life that she almost took away? My birth mother and my daughter have both tried to kill my wife. I mean, I-I can’t imagine how Steffy is gonna react when she hears about Luna. Well, then don’t tell her. You don’t have to. Yes, I do! Steffy is the most important person to me in my life, and there is no way that I’m gonna be able to ever keep a secret like this from her. So just stop it! You need to leave. We both need to… plan for the fallout after everyone learns the truth about Luna’s paternity. [heavy music plays] Is that my sister I saw leaving?

Steffy: Finn is truly my hero. His love and devotion amaze me every day. Finn’s commitment to you and your family– that was clear from the very beginning. While we know your husband’s been a rock for you, he can’t process the trauma of what’s happened. Are you still struggling with what you went through with Luna? [tense music plays] We’ve gotta be realistic. We can’t be sure when or even if anyone from your world is going to know that you’re serving your sentence here. So any idea you have about reconciliation or reunification

Unlikely? Yes. Now, having said that, I-I think you should see it as-as a distant goal, something that may not be attainable but you should absolutely be striving for.

[phone rings]

In the meantime, you know the drill, right? No one can see you or know that you’re here. Please tell me it’s a delivery. [sighs] Oh, great. Okay. Thanks. It’s your mother. Get outta here. Go on. Go hide. Go on. [knock on door] Poppy. Surprised to see you back here. Bill. I need your help. I need to find my daughter. [uneasy music plays] Yeah, the truth is I, uh, I still do struggle. You’ve pushed it down.

Ridge: Then can you please take some time to heal? The Forrester thing we’ll figure out–we will. No. No, no, no. I wanna be there. It gives me a sense of purpose amidst the chaos, like… I wanna be there. It’s normal to try to distract yourself, no matter how short-lived the relief is. But it’s really important to process the trauma, find some healthy coping mechanisms. It’s too easy to fall into old patterns if you’re not careful. Finn’s helped me with that. He knows my history, what I’ve overcome. He’s helped me completely transform my life. He’s a constant for me, my stability, and I love him so much for that. But if I am being honest with myself, it is… it is tough, knowing that his birth mother tried to kill me, and… his cousin drugged me and… tried to kill me too. I know we haven’t spoken in a while. Um… I’ve been doing a lot of, uh, processing, and I’m still struggling to make sense of the things that my daughter did. A child is largely shaped by their environment. [small laugh, whispers] Right. Um… well, part of that processing has been soul-searching… …and accountability. And I’m not exactly innocent in this. Maybe I did fail Luna as a mother and… That thought haunts me. Luna’s life could have been very different had I made better choices. [tearfully] And I know that I was… selfish and reckless, never providing any stability for my daughter, always moving around, and I can see now that that is a terrible environment for a child to grow up in. I mean, how was she supposed to thrive? So, yes, Bill, I know that my influence on my daughter may have caused a lot of damage. That… and not knowing who her father is. Why was Poppy here? Something medical? Um, no. I, uh, shouldn’t be surprised. I have a pretty good idea why she was here.

You do?

Course. She wanted to talk to you about Luna and everything that happened in our home years ago. [soft, dramatic music plays]

Poppy: The reason I’m really here– I went to the prison to see Luna and instead of seeing her, a prison official showed up and told me she wasn’t there. What did they say? Was she transferred? I don’t know. All he said was that she was still in the system. And then it has me wondering is she safe? It got me thinking that maybe she doesn’t even wanna see me or if she was transferred, does she even want me to know where? Luna set me up to spend the rest of my life in prison for the murders of Tom and Hollis, so… the feelings about my daughter are… complex. But you’re still concerned about her. Yes. I need to see Luna. Because there’s something she needs to know. Assuming by that look, I’m right. Poppy was here to talk about Luna. It’s okay, son. I know. You know? You and my sister, the bond you two have always shared– makes sense she’d confide in you about Luna,

her father.

Okay, Mom, look, I, um… I don’t know what you’re getting at. You know what, putting you in the middle was the last thing I wanted. Just couldn’t dismiss that feeling that something was happening between Penelope and my husband. Consumed me for years. For her to find out about it all… having me run tests with her daughter’s blood– I mean, of course she’d come here to talk to you. She needs someone to confide in, someone who’ll listen. She must be so angry with me… accusing her of having an affair with Jack. [scoffs] In our family home. My sister’s struggling… especially after

what Luna’s done.

No. That has nothing to do with you, Mom. Doesn’t it? It’s become so obvious that I could have done so much more. Stepped up as an aunt, I mean, been there for Luna when she needed it the most. [sighs] My jealousy and insecurity just took over. I failed my sister. Failed my niece. Luna needed guidance. The very least I could have done was… provided her that. Instead, I pushed her away, didn’t allow her to get to know me, her family. That poor girl’s never had a father in her life. Yeah. A father in Luna’s life could have made all the difference. Listen, I meant what I said. You’re one of the strongest people I know. Yeah, we really appreciate Finn’s love and devotion to you and your family. As parents, that’s all we could ever ask for. What Luna did, what Sheila did to you– I’ll never forget what happened, Dad. It’s always gonna haunt me on some level. But I know Finn. He is nothing like them. He saved me multiple times. And my love for Finn is greater than the pain and trauma that they put me through. It’s a true testament to your relationship that you can overcome all the obstacles that have been thrown at you. We just pray that you’re not tested ever again. Li: Wonder if we’ll ever know. The question still remains– who was Luna’s father?

Steffy: It’s true. Finn and I have been through way more than any couple should. But thankfully, we’ve always made it out the other side, and our bond even stronger. But if I am being honest with myself, I don’t think this feeling is ever gonna go away, always waiting and wondering… what Finn and I will have to face next.

Poppy: Finn, just stop. Stop asking these questions.

Finn: Luna isn’t my cousin. She’s my daughter. Luna is my daughter. I’m…the father. Hey. Hey, babe. What are you thinking about? [dramatic musical sting] Dr. Finnegan isn’t in yet? When do you expect him? No. No message.

Deacon: How ’bout a refill? Cup’s looking a little empty. You okay? [scoffs] Why do you ask? It looks like you had a rough night. I’m guessing with everything your daughter’s done, been having a lot of those.

You all right?

Hey. Yeah. Yeah, I’m good. You? Me? Well, I passed by your study earlier, and you were on the phone. It sounded kind of intense. Ah. Uh, yeah. That, uh… that phone call involved you. It was from the prison. Uh–please don’t tell me I have to go back to that– No, no, no, no, no, nothing– nothing like that. They were just letting me know that you had a couple of visitors. Who? Your mother…and Finn. [edgy music plays]

Ridge: Okay.

Ah. Thank you.

Welcome. Lucky for you I don’t have any patients today, otherwise, that would have been a goodbye kiss

and I’d be out the door.

Lucky, indeed. It’s not easy, is it? What? Not going into the office every day. No. But I think that’s gonna change very soon. In the meantime, I’m very happy that we’re living here together until we find something more permanent. Permanent. I like the sound of that. [soft music plays] I wanna apologize again for what happened last night. Hmm. Brooke pleading for you to take her back? You shouldn’t have to listen to any of that stuff. Well, thankfully, I only heard the tail end. But I meant what I said, Ridge. I’m confident in you and our love for each other… a permanent future. [giggling] There’s that word again– permanent. I love the sound of that more and more. I’m sorry, I– I didn’t mean for that to come out the way that it sounded. Luna’s your daughter, and… despite what she’s done, you love her.

Yes.

Yeah. Which means you’re not gonna give up on her, right? But, I mean, still, it’s gotta be hard. It’s gotta be hard living with a daughter who committed those awful crimes. I mean, Tom and Hollis, they were… they were good men. They were good friends of mine. I am sorry. Listen, I-I’m nobody to pass judgement, not with my past and my wife’s, but, still, I just– I can’t help but wonder. Wonder what? I don’t know. If Luna had had a relationship with Tom, known her father, things might have turned out very differently. Doesn’t surprise me that my mom came to visit me again, but…Finn? Why he would visit you there. Yeah. I’m surprised that he’d even wanna see me. Last night, our anniversary, it was… amazing. I love you so much.

You know, Tom was just– he was such a decent guy. I mean, he’d known some hard times, you know. He’d gone through some stuff. But, God, he had a heart of gold. You know, Luna would have known that if… you know, if you hadn’t kept her away from him all those years. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to shoot my mouth off like that. It’s– He was your friend. And her dad. I think it would have made a huge difference in her life if she had known her old man. I have to go. Um, how much do I owe you? No, no, no, it’s good. It’s, uh, on the house. Thank you. So tell me about your cousin.

Were you and Finn always close?

When we got the chance, yeah.

What does that mean?

Well, my Aunt Li. [chuckles] As you know, she had major issues with my mom. Not that she held it against me specifically, but Finn and I never really got to hang out all that much because of it, and the age difference, so… That’s probably why I looked up to him so much. I get that. He’s a good guy. So I’m guessing you like him? He’s your granddaughter’s stepdad. Oh, Kelly is crazy about him. And, uh, Finn never tried to overstep, take the place of her real father. I’m sure Liam was happy about that. Liam [sighs] still had some unresolved feelings for Steffy, so it was really tough on him to see her falling in love with another man. I will give Finn credit. He never threw it in Liam’s face, so things didn’t get really contentious. Well, not-not too contentious. Because Finn would just let it be. Right. I wish I could see him again.

I don’t suppose that you’d–

No. You know the rules. No one can know you’re here, including your cousin. Yeah. I know you said he showed up at the prison, but I’m guessing he just wanted to see me behind bars, reassure himself that I’m no longer a threat to his wife. Not that I blame him, though, after what I tried to do to Steffy.

Steffy: Ha ha, oh, my…

Ridge and Taylor: Hi. Uh, we weren’t expecting you. Yeah, well, I have to say, I’m not gonna get tired of it, just seeing you so happy. I know I say that nonstop, but– Well, you wanted us together for so long, and here we are. You can shout it from the rooftops, as far as I’m concerned. I mean, it’s no secret how we feel about each other. Just like it’s no secret how you feel about your husband.

How’d it go last night?

“How’d it go last night”?

Our anniversary.

Don’t ask her that. It’s–j–was it a good evening? That’s all you ask. Yes, it was-it was fantastic. Finn and I put everything aside, and we just focused on each other. [somber music plays] [door opens] I had to see you. I need to know what happened. Please, Finn. Tell me that you didn’t tell Steffy that Luna is your child. [dramatic music plays]

Thank you. When I think of you and Finn, how it all began… In a hospital, no less, waking up to a very, very sexy doctor. Yeah. And I knew he was the one, the man I was gonna spend the rest of my life with.

You knew it that soon?

Yeah. Well, what’s meant to be is meant to be, right?

Look at you and Dad.

Somehow I knew

she’d put that in.

Sure. Yeah. Of course I was gonna do that. Just thinking about everything you’ve been through, and you actually found your way back to each other, is truly amazing. What about you and Finn? You’ve faced a lot. Yeah. Yeah, we did. ‘Cause of Luna.

Yeah.

It’s still so shocking– Luna abducting you, attempting to take your life. I mean, I’m sure it’s especially hard for Finn knowing what his cousin is capable of. But you don’t have to worry about that anymore.

She’s behind bars.

Yeah. And that’s where she’ll stay for the rest of her life.

Luna: I almost cost Finn everything– Steffy, their life together. I mean, if he lost his wife, the mother of their children,

because of me…

It would have been devastating. And I’m glad you recognize that. Thankfully, though, Steffy’s fine, the kids have their mom, and everybody there is doing well. Yeah, no thanks to me. I’m sure Finn hopes I rot away in prison. I’m sorry. I know that hurts you. You’re fond of Finn. He’s family. But the reality is– You don’t do the horrible things I’ve done and expect life to go back to normal–yeah, I get that, but… it doesn’t stop me from wishing. Wishing what? That somehow Finn could see me with new eyes. When you called me yesterday, I was at the prison. I’d gone to see Luna. She wasn’t there. I know. I tried to see her too. Well, where is she, Poppy? Where’s our daughter? Our daughter. My God, I can’t even believe I’m saying that, but…[sighs] it’s my reality. Finn, please, you have to understand– No, I don’t even wanna hear it, Poppy. I just wanna know what happened with Luna. Well, I can’t answer that. You can’t…or you won’t? What are you asking? Are you purposely keeping Luna away from me? Are you and the prison officials somehow– No. No. Are you sure? Because if you are, I– I swear I do not know where she is. I swear. Doesn’t that bother you? Of course it bothers me. But I can’t get a straight answer from anyone at the prison, and obviously, neither could you. But again, you didn’t answer my question.

Why were you there to see Luna?

What do you think? All her life, Luna’s been my little cousin and now suddenly she’s my daughter. That changes everything. But it doesn’t have to if it stays between us! No, do not go there. Do not go there. I mean it. Do you really think that I’m not gonna acknowledge my own child? That I’d be able to live with myself if I didn’t do that? Thought you knew me better than that. I do! And it kills me to see you so upset. How do you think I’m gonna feel, huh? This whole thing has turned my life upside down. And I knew it would. That’s why I didn’t even want you thinking it was a possibility. Finn, I wasn’t sure back then and I was trying to protect you so you could devote your life to your dreams–medicine. And now look! You are a remarkable doctor. Yeah. What kind of father would I have been? ‘Cause you denied me a life with my daughter. You played God. You made decisions for me that you had no right to make. I deserved to be told about Luna. It was one night together– one night that never, ever should have happened. Yeah, I was of age, but you– you were older. You were my aunt. Yeah, not biologically, but still, you should have known better, been the adult. That’s exactly how you could have protected me. I’ve been trying to protect you all this time. And you certainly should have told me about the possibility of Luna, but you didn’t. You didn’t, did you? No! Now what, Poppy? What have you done? What have you done to all of our lives? [heavy music plays] I’ll never forget being in that cage– so close to death, Luna at her craziest. Like, the thought of me getting out–it didn’t seem possible.

But you never gave up.

Finn never did. He moved heaven and earth to get to me–he found me. Yeah, he did. There’s nothing your husband wouldn’t do for you and the kids. Well, thankfully, we never have to worry about Luna again. [heavy music plays] Help me! Somebody help me! Oh, my God, don’t waste your breath, Steffy. I told you, this whole building’s getting demolished. No one’s ever gonna hear you. And you’re never gonna see Finn again. No, no, no, Luna, please don’t do–Luna! Don’t do this again, please, No, no, no, no, please! Luna, no–just don’t do it again, please, no! Help me! [screaming] Help! I’m sorry. [sniffling] I hope you can forgive me someday, cousin. All those years when Luna was a baby–gone. When she was a teenager–gone. She needed a father, and I could have had a relationship with her. I am sorry. I really am sorry. I don’t want your apologies. I want those years back! I want the memories that Luna and I would have made if I would have been in her life! I understand why you’re feeling that way, but, Finn, we can’t go back. All we can do is move forward. And you still can. By focusing on your family– Steffy, Hayes, Kelly. I know how much they mean to you. Everything. They’re everything to me, and I will never take for granted how blessed I am to have a life with Steffy and our children. A life that was almost taken… away from them by Luna! Oh, my God, Poppy, do you not see what has happened? The destruction that you have caused? Two innocent men are dead. You destroyed our daughter, and I could have made a difference in her life if I was given the chance– I am certain of it. I wasn’t sure back then, and I was doing what I thought was best. It wasn’t best. It wasn’t. It wasn’t best for Luna, wasn’t best for Tom or Hollis, and it wasn’t best for me. You know who it was best for? You, Poppy! Well, you still haven’t answered me. Please, Finn, tell me– did you or did you not tell Steffy about Luna? No, I haven’t. Not yet. It was my anniversary–I didn’t think it was the right time to drop this huge bomb on my wife. But after a sleepless night thinking about how my entire life has been upended… yeah, Luna is my daughter, and I need to be honest with Steffy.

Finn, no–

I’m telling my wife, Poppy. I’m not keeping this from her. I mean, first Steffy had to accept that Sheila was my birth mother. Now I have to tell her that I’m Luna’s father? That my daughter tried to kill her too? How do I do that, Poppy? How the hell am I supposed to do that? How much more can I expect Steffy to take? [phone chimes] [dramatic music plays]

Steffy:  Finn, I can see that something’s bothering you. What is it? Babe, you know you can tell me anything.

Finn: How do I tell her? How do I tell her Luna’s my daughter?

Liam: So, yeah, Steffy’s got the kids staying at a friend’s tonight. She wants to plan like a celebration for her and Finn. Kind of a, you know, kind of a big year for them.

Bill: Is it?

Liam: Well, yeah. I mean, everything they’ve been through– Steffy getting abducted, Finn having to find her and rescue her. Yeah, well, I hope they’re not thinking about that tonight. I mean, yeah, me too, but… then again, here I am, thinking about my kid’s mom drugged and locked in a cage. Kelly and I almost lost Steffy because of Luna. I know you’re hurt, Ridge. I am too. You betrayed me, betrayed my whole family. Well, I felt betrayed when you turned to Taylor yet again. You didn’t even let me explain why. There’s nothing to explain! I would have told you that our relationship is more important than any job. Is it? Then why’d you take the position? I’m here because of us, because this is important to me, and I’m not going to let what’s happening at Forrester

destroy everything that we had.

You know what? The Brooke that I know wouldn’t have done that, wouldn’t have taken my job with this company that I love so much. And you–what did you say? You did it for me? Really? I did. [heavy music plays] Larisa has the kids all night, so we have plenty of time to celebrate, okay? Yeah, but you made plans, so– Yeah, but it’s gonna be a lot of fun once we get whatever this is off of your chest. Look, I want to, honey, and I would never keep a secret from you. Bill: Yeah well, not a big deal, all things considered, right?

Liam: Uh, okay. I get– It wasn’t murder. It wasn’t kidnapping. But she still convinced you she was your daughter. You were about to make her a Spencer. All right, Liam, thank you for your concern, but I’ve moved on from all that.

Really?

Yeah. How? How have you moved on? Look, I’m not s–look. You don’t have to do the show for me. It wasn’t just you that Luna tricked, right? It was everyone. It was Finn and Steffy. Finn’s her cousin, right? She was in their home. She was interacting with their kids. And then she kidnaps Steffy and threatens her life. I don’t like thinking about what could have happened there. And she did the right thing when she first heard about Hope’s plan. But when she took that CEO position, she became a part of it. It is shocking that she doesn’t understand that. She can’t see what this is doing to you. Brooke has no idea how much she’s betrayed you. [moody music plays]

But thankfully, there have been changes here at Forrester Creations, and I’m no longer your scapegoat. Yeah, thanks to Carter. Your partner in crime. What’s going on, Penelope? You’re not yourself. Tell me. Maybe I can help. You need to give it to me straight, Poppy, the truth. Am I Luna’s father? Something’s happened. What? Luna… …is missing. No. No, no, no. This can’t be right. And one more thing. I just want to apologize again for the accusations I held on for all those years, thinking you could betray me in my own home. Hopefully, you can forgive me one day. How I could even imagine you could hurt me and my family in such a terrible way… [tense music plays] Honestly, I wish it hadn’t come to this, but drastic times call for drastic measures. And these are drastic times for Forrester Creations. This is truly a fight for the heart and soul of Forrester Creations– its future, its identity. I mean, in a few months from now, Forrester Creations– it might not even be recognizable. Hope and Carter, they wanna take risky moves, and they’re not being strategic. No, but you are, hopefully coming up with a way to stop them. Well, I had to do something. I can’t just sit idly by and wait for Justin and his team to work their angle– like, that could take months, and we don’t even know if that’s gonna be successful.

Meanwhile…

Hope, Brooke, and Carter are becoming more entrenched in their positions. Every day that goes by, they’re consolidating their power. And Hope is getting more arrogant by the minute. Not only does she wanna lead Hope for the Future, but she wants to be in on all of the business decisions. And Carter is more than willing to let her, at least that’s how I read it. Hey, Zende, I know none of this is easy for you, working with Hope and Carter, especially on Hope’s line. But just know that your intel is invaluable. I do…wish that… you would let me in a little bit on the details of your plan. I’ll tell you this. If this plan continues to go in this direction, Hope and Carter will never smell what’s coming until it’s too late.

HOPE: Carter.

[sharp inhale] Daphne. What’s going on? I was, um…I was admiring the-the Forrester fragrances trying to, uh, figure out which one to launch with. It can’t be Tom Starr. There’s nothing for us to be ashamed about. You were of age and we were two consenting adults, and, yeah, you were adopted into the family, but we are actually not related by blood. There’s no biological connection between us. And we cared about each other. And what we shared was-was beautiful and it was special. And that is how I have always remembered it. And, Finn, I would really hope that you would remember it that way too– this magical connection that we had. But that was all that it could be. And we have both moved on with our lives, and-and look–look at what you’ve accomplished. You are a… brilliant and highly respected doctor with a beautiful wife and family, and I… Well, I have a chance to patch things up with my sister and pursue the kind of relationship that two sisters should have. If it weren’t for you, I’d still be fighting for my life back in prison. You don’t have to be thrilled about the changes happening at Forrester, Steffy, but you did agree to them. Have I given you a reason to think I don’t? I just said I like Zende’s designs. And you implied that he has more reason to be here than I do

because he’s a Forrester.

Well, then, like what? Okay. I don’t understand why you’re making this so difficult. Okay? Was she released? Was she transferred? What the hell is going on? Steffy begged me to let her go. She told me to think about her family and her kids. Did you? Not then. But ever since, yeah. I think about them all the time and what their lives would be like if Finn didn’t find Steffy in time. Those poor, innocent kids. I mean, I-I kidnapped their mom. And I knew how much Finn loves Steffy, and I didn’t care. That’s how far gone I was, Bill. I mean, I could have ruined Finn’s life. He’s the only person in my whole family who ever gave a damn about me. [moody music plays] I need to know the truth. And yet you agreed to work here. Obviously, you have an issue with that. I actually think you might be the one with the issue. Well, can you blame me? My grandfather built this company from the ground up. This was his dream. This was all of his hard work, and he entrusted it to me and my father, and you and Carter ripped it out of our hands. You deceived us. So, yes, I’m gonna tell it like it is. Oh, so there’s no reason for me to question your motives then? I’ve been very clear about those too. Right. Uh, to protect your legacy and investment. Yes. Oh, is that the real reason, or is there more to it? [edgy music plays] Um, let me show you what I have in mind. Well, I-I’ve put together some projections, and, uh, the faster we launch, the bigger the numbers. And…look, waiting for the next retail season, it can impact your… Yeah. Wouldn’t want that. And as awful as that is, I didn’t really know them. But I know Steffy. She’s family. And she’s always been so kind and supportive to me, at work and as a relative. And I turned on her. She confronted me and I– [sniffling] You panicked. It’s like all the rage and resentment inside me just kept pouring out. All the years of fear and anger and frustration. I– I don’t know. It’s like I truly became a different person. It didn’t matter that Steffy has a son with Finn. I adore Hayes, but… in that moment, I couldn’t see Steffy as a wife or a mother. She was just another person standing in the way of me and everything that I’ve always wanted. It was all falling apart, and I was desperate. There was no family ties strong enough to stop me. Even my mom? Yes. I can’t wait for the lawyers to sort this out. I need to be here to protect my family legacy and my investments. So…do we have a deal? Steffy has a plan, of course. I don’t know what it is. But I’m assuming it’s to get control of the company, right? From the inside? She hasn’t asked for your help, right?

No. You think she will?

I don’t know.

She hasn’t told us much.

What do we know? Steffy’s shrewd, she can’t be intimidated, and she will try to get the company away from Hope and Carter. First things first. She has to get back to work. Hey, don’t mess with that. I’m sorry. It’s just a little uncomfortable. Yeah. I believe you–Department of Corrections might not. That’s another reason why I’m glad I’m serving my time here instead of jail. Accommodations are nicer. Rules are just as strict. Yeah. I’m not gonna cause any trouble here, Bill. I promise. You’re such a generous man. Tough, but fair. Um… well, you wanted a paternity test, and looking back, that’s when everything started to spiral out of control. My Aunt Li got involved. She didn’t buy it. She insisted we do another test because she thought your mother was up to something. But I was two steps ahead of everyone. I bought a fake test result on the dark web and when no one was looking, I switched the results. And no one saw. I mean no one, not even my Aunt Li, the big-time doctor. And when the results came back positive, you accepted it, no questions asked. The real surprise was seeing how happy you were. But it was a fabrication, a lie. Well, there’s no point in lying now. Or ever again. You got it? No more secrets, no more lies. Tom Starr is your father. April, I’m not trying to be cryptic. To be honest with you, I don’t know what this man’s tissue’s gonna tell me. But it’s important to you. Yeah. Could be. Well, then I’m glad I could help. You have. There’s just one more thing. I would like you to retrieve a blood sample for me. I can look up the storage number. Well, if it’s stored at the hospital, then I can find it by patient name. Hmm. Should still be there. Well, then it’s no problem, Dr. Finnegan. What was the name? Nozawa. Luna Nozawa. Steffy will do everything she can to get this company back in our hands. If she can get back into the company, yes. Yeah, convincing Carter is one thing, but the way that Brooke and Hope feel about her… Not a lot of trust there. No, but she knew this was gonna be an uphill battle, and she’s ready for it. Well, she’s definitely gonna be catching them off-guard.

That’s for sure.

Ha. She is the last person they’d expect to see at the door. Oh, my God, I wish I could text her right now, but… But no, but you can’t text her. She’s setting a trap right now. What are you doing texting people? It’s gonna take a lot more than that. Brooke, Hope, Carter– they’re all smart people. And wary. It’s gonna take a lot to fool them. Mm-hmm. But if anyone can do it, it’s Steffy. Forrester’s not the same company you left. Not a family business anymore. No. That mom and pop attitude served you well for a long time, but…we’re doing something new. And it’s working. We’re implementing the ideas that you and your father vetoed.

Hope for the Future is back.

CARTER: And we’re expanding the luxury brand…might even be creating a fragrance with the top nose of Paris. Wow. Seems like everything’s falling into place. I’d say so. We just needed the naysayers to stop holding us back. About that. I’ve actually had time to think about your expansion plan. I’m beginning to see its merits and possibilities. Oh. Now you’re all for it. I’m for helping Forrester compete. Just like that. As president, my primary function would be to help Carter implement his ideas. Especially with this new fragrance line. You wanna put our name on the bottle, shouldn’t you have a Forrester backing it? Ivy has jewelry. Zende is working with Hope. You say that the buyers are with you, but I’m sure they have questions, unspoken concerns. Bring me back and I guarantee you no one will be asking how the Forresters feel about this takeover. ♪ ♪ There’s so much damage surrounding your paternity. I did that. The idea of Tom Starr being my father just pushed me over the edge. I lost it, and I hate knowing that I did all those terrible things.

You should be. You didn’t have to have a relationship with him. You’re an adult. But he wanted to get to know me. He wanted to be a part of my life. A lot of people have those fears, Luna. They don’t commit murder. What I did was awful, and… I’m paying for it. But I’m telling you, Bill, I’m not a danger to society. I’m a changed woman. [soft, uneasy music plays] ♪ ♪ LUNA: I did what I had to do, starting with the fake paternity test and dealing with that loser biological father. I mean, who knows if he even is my dad. There were so many candidates. -Then why kill him if he– -Because he believed it. He was convinced. I couldn’t afford for him to come forward and bring questions into Bill’s mind. Is Tom Starr really your father, Luna? Brooke and Hope will be skeptical. Yep. This is gonna be Carter’s decision. They won’t take Steffy back if Brooke doesn’t agree. Yeah. We all know where her loyalty lies. Look, if she cares about Forrester at all, she’ll see the benefit of having Steffy there. Dad, honestly, I don’t know what she cares about anymore other than enabling her thieving daughter or maybe being a CEO of a very successful fashion house. She jumped on that pretty quick, didn’t she? She came over here telling me it’s all for me, it’s all for us. Well, I’m not buying any of that. I don’t know what they’re trying to do over there, but you know what, she’s on the wrong ship. ‘Cause when this is all over, there’s not gonna be a spot for her anymore. Well, this is quite the whiplash. I still hate what you did. That hasn’t changed. But you still wanna work with us. Well, I’m a realist. You know that about me. I’m not about rosy projections or wishful thinking. That is true. Look, my grandfather and my father said that they’re not gonna step foot in this building. They can rail on about retribution and lawsuits, but I need to look out for the good of the company and my family’s financial future. So I am willing to swallow my pride to make sure this company doesn’t tank. Nothing is tanking–it’s quite the opposite, actually. And I’ll make sure it stays that way. If Carter makes you president. Yes. Steffy, I appreciate your offer and your reasoning. I didn’t want your family to leave. I asked you all to stay on. So is that a yes? We need time to talk. We’ll get back to you soon. Luna, I wanna be really clear about what’s happening here. I’m giving you a chance to improve yourself. But what you did by faking that paternity test and… well beyond that… so crossed a line. Same here. I mean, it’s a ploy, right? It has to be. Steffy wanting to come back to the company? Agreeing to take orders from us? Surprising, but she does have a point.

About her investments?

About her legacy. Mm. Well, that wasn’t a factor when she walked out with Eric and Ridge. Well, maybe she’s been hearing the buzz around here, around the jewelry line, Daphne Rose being spotted in the building. So you think she regrets leaving? Well, I think that’s clear. I just can’t decide if she really wants to help us. I think we need to be cautious. I agree. There’s a lot on the line. And right now, the only people I’m sure I can trust are in this room. We should have heard from Steffy by now, right? Maybe they’re working out a deal. Or they shut her down and she’s afraid to tell us.

TAYLOR: Steffy.

RIDGE: Steffy.

Hey, did you talk to Carter?

BOTH: What’d he say? I spoke to Hope. I spoke to Carter. Brooke was there too. Well, they must have been shocked to see you. Yeah, shocked and suspicious. I told you they’d be on their guard. Well, I was prepared for that. I told them that I was angry and hurt and I hated what they did to Dad and Granddad, but I-I hate to see Forrester go under, so I…I offered to come back. In what capacity?

President.

Not CEO? That isn’t… No. There’s no way Brooke would give me that position. Look, I said I would do everything in my power to help them out, I would implement their ideas, and I would answer to them if I have to.

You really said that?

They’re traitors. They’re not stupid. They know you. Well, I didn’t pretend to be anything else–I kept it real. A Forrester on the executive team–it gives them legitimacy. It puts the buyers at ease. It keeps the company strong and stable. It’s an asset to our company. I’m not about to walk away and destroy it.

That does sound like you.

So? What’d they say? They-they gonna take you back?

Not yet.

But they didn’t say no. Well, I think they need some time to think it over, but… I got the impression they’re leaning toward yes. I think there’s a chance that this could work out. And once I’m in there and they welcome me back, I can set my plan in motion. They’ll be so busy keeping an eye on me, they’ll never know what hit ’em. While she may have made a good pitch, it does beg the question… why is Steffy being so accommodating and accepting? Hope and Carter did this to us, and I’m gonna make them pay for stealing our company. It’s only a matter of time before Forrester Creations is ours again.

And this estate–I’m never gotta get tired of this. I’m so lucky you got me out of prison. You were in danger. You’re better off serving your time here. I would have died if it weren’t for you rescuing me, Bill… seriously. You really are the dad I wish I had. ♪ ♪ [sighs] What was that for? Well, I just saw you standing over here looking so handsome, and I had to do something about it. Well, for the record, anytime you feel like you need to do something about it…feel free. Oh, I will. If anyone can get the company back, it’s Steffy. With the help of Daphne Rose. I couldn’t do this without her. RIDGE: Can you guys do me a favor and just not break any laws? And Carter’s not gonna be able to resist her. And once he gives in, and he’s going to, Hope’s heart is gonna be broken, and Hope and Carter’s coup is just gonna crumble in a million little pieces. Had I paid attention to them, I wouldn’t have gotten involved with Poppy, as brief as it was. My mom has a way of charming people into believing that she’s a good person. Well, I didn’t know that she was like that– basically a carbon copy of my mother. You mean a woman who can’t be trusted, a total liar. A compulsive liar. My mom ran two paternity tests. You and my dad–nothing ever happened between you two.

Of course not!

Well, so then you knew what to expect with those results. But Tom Starr– were you surprised or did you know all these years? Okay, I don’t wanna have this conversation. I know you don’t. I don’t wanna have it either.

No. Look at me! You promised that you would be truthful all those years ago, and I need you to be truthful again, now more than ever. Aren’t you curious? What does it even matter? It matters to me. I need to know. I wanna know. Look, I’ve had my suspicions. But I need to hear it again. You told me all those years ago that there was no chance Luna could be my daughter. Is that right? I meant it back then, and I mean it now. I am certain. Uh, I don’t wanna get into it over the phone. Is everything okay? I don’t know. I’m not sure about anything right now. But please, Poppy, I need to see you right away. Thank you again for seeing me. Haven’t wanted to for a long time. It was too painful. I know. What happened with Sheila– Oh, please, Jack, I really can’t talk about it anymore. It devastated our lives together. And I’m sorry for that. For the pain that I caused you. More than you know. And you’re not gonna believe me, but I did love you, Li. I still do. Funny way of showing it. You know what? I’m gonna keep saying I’m sorry again and again and again until you believe me. and you forgive me. I’m not sure if that day will ever come, but… but right now, I’m the one that needs to apologize. For thinking for all those years that you could be Luna’s father. I lived so much of my life in survival mode.

[sighs] Everything was always so chaotic. We were constantly moving from one place to another, one school to another, and my mom always had her drugs and her men. I understand. I know you do. Because you grew up like me. Sometimes I felt like my life was being completely consumed by hers. I was always so busy taking care of her that… I learned that my needs weren’t important. That’s no way to live. There’d be times where she’d wake up hungover because the guy that she thought was everything had up and left her, and… she’d cry and hold me and… call me her sweet girl and… she’d say that she loved me to the moon and back. That’s why she named me Luna. She always said that it was just the two of us and that’s all we needed. In those moments, I felt like she really did love me more than anything else in the world. But it wasn’t true. Because how could she really love me if she won’t answer the biggest question of my life? Who your father is. [somber music plays] ♪ ♪ [knock on door]

Yeah, come in. Close the door. You look very serious. So you wouldn’t say anything over the phone. Um…is something wrong? I don’t know, Poppy. Is there something wrong? Uh, well, to be honest, yeah, life has been difficult lately. Luna is in prison for doing unspeakable things. I can’t wrap my head around it. And then your mother and I– No, I heard. I heard.

I saw my mother. I know about the paternity test. Tom Starr wasn’t Luna’s father. [dramatic music plays] ♪ ♪ Is there anything else I can get for you? This is great, Deacon.

Okay. It’s my pleasure. Um, look, I know it’s not really my place to say this, but I just gotta tell you– I think Finn would be really happy to see the two of you together. Well, he’s not wrong. Finn would at least wanna see us be able to be in the same room together. Maybe even…get along. We do have an amazing son. I love him so much sometimes it hurts. Finn’s happiness… something we both will always want. And something we will never let anyone take away from him. I know you had issues with your father. Yes, I did. But at least eventually you knew who he was. True. And I suppose you could make the argument that I wouldn’t be the man I am today without having known him. When I became old enough to ask about my dad, my mom would never give me a straight answer. She’d just deflect and say, “Oh, it’s the two of us against the world. Nozawa power.” And it all just became meaningless. To me, Nozawa power means nothing but keeping secrets and hiding the truth. And lying. So many lies. My mom ran a paternity test on Tom Starr and another one on my dad. I know. I had a front row seat for all of it. Well, neither one of them were Luna’s father. No. It was, uh… it was awful and intense. I’m sorry the way my mom handled it all. She’s been carrying a lot of hurt and anger for many years and, you know, I-I hate the way that she’s treated you. She thought that I had an affair with Jack. Which never happened. I mean, but it does explain how cold she’s been to me over the years. I know that she regrets the way that she treated you, and I know that she wants to fix your relationship. And I hope that’s possible. I… I always wanted you two to be closer. I know. And I appreciate it, but… Finn, you don’t have to worry about me. I’m fine. And you have a really full life. You have your career, your beautiful wife and family. Yeah, you’re right. Those moments… your kids growing up, the big ones or the small ones, you, uh… you can’t get ’em back. And to miss out on that would be devastating. Aren’t you curious? Curious about what? Who Luna’s father is? Tom Starr thought it was him. My mom thought it was my dad, then there was Bill Spencer. And then we found out that Luna tampered with the test because she couldn’t stand the thought of Tom Starr being her father. His letters… why’d you send ’em back? You said that you weren’t sure. What if he was Luna’s father? Because we were fine on our own. Were you? Not knowing who her father was clearly had an impact on Luna. It might have led her down a road to do those horrible things. I mean, two innocent men are dead. My wife was kidnapped– could have been killed. Yes, I know, a-and I’m really sorry that Luna targeted Steffy. Okay? She hurt a lot of people. And I can’t even imagine how you’re…

you’re feeling about her.

Oh, you have no idea. You need to be honest with me. Did you keep Tom’s letters away from Luna because you didn’t want him to be her father or because you knew he wasn’t? Why are you asking these questions? You know why, Poppy. [heavy music plays] I will never be able to excuse all those things I did years ago, but I am grateful for the blessing you see in Finn. Of course I do. He’s my son in every sense of the word. Li, I can’t imagine the pain you must have felt thinking that I’d had an affair with Poppy and that Luna was my daughter. ♪ ♪ You know, I’ve come to realize that my mom is a compulsive liar. I mean, I don’t even think she realizes when she’s doing it. I’m not trying to justify all the terrible things I’ve done, okay? I take full responsibility for my actions– Well, that right there is something your mother’s never done. And what happened to you was traumatizing. Don’t discount that. Yes, you have to take responsibility for your actions. But you can also resent what contributed to them. My mom refused to tell me what I deserved to know. I mean, if you’re gonna rip me away from any kind of family, any kind of stability, I deserve to know why. And you know what? Now that we’re being honest and everything, I still don’t think the truth is even out. I feel it in my gut that Tom Starr is not my father. I don’t believe it. Isn’t this crazy? After all these years, and I’m still searching for who my father really is. [edgy music plays] ♪ ♪

I need answers.

Finn, please. Back when you came to stay with us– That was a long time ago. I know exactly how long ago that was. Li and Jack needed help, and I needed a place to land, Finn. I was lost. And I came home one night, and I went out my window onto the roof. That was my favorite place to think. But…

You weren’t alone.

No. Someone else was there. And we talked until the sun came up. And we watched the fog lift up and reveal the city like it was magic. And I had never been able to talk like that with anyone ’cause it was…it was so easy. And safe. I knew who you were. I just–I… you know, you weren’t around a lot growing up. And I was gone as soon as I had my driver’s license and my GED. And I could be a free spirit. But nothing in life is free, and I was just going from– from town to town… …looking for–I don’t know what I was looking for. Just…a connection. A place to belong. But that’s not freedom. And most of the time, I was just lonely. And so you came to stay with us. You had started college. You were smart and handsome, and you had your whole world ahead of you. God, how many hours did we spend on the roof? A lot. And that place–that was ours. To laugh… to confide in one another. To love. And then one night, we-we couldn’t help ourselves, and we went into your room… Yeah. You, um… …you were my first, and that was an incredible connection and there was nothing wrong with it–I’m adopted. And of age. But in retrospect, as the years went by, I realized how wrong that was. But…yeah. You changed my life. Finn, you changed mine. And that’s my concern. How did I change it, Poppy? What exactly did I do to impact your life? Finn, that was a long time ago, and we agreed that we wouldn’t speak of this, that it was just something for us to remember, something beautiful that only we shared. Yeah, well, I have a terrible feeling. Because when you told me that you were pregnant, you swore it couldn’t be mine, that it was impossible, but… then you were gone.

It was time.

I barely saw Luna after she was born. Why? You need to tell me. You need to tell me the truth, if there is any chance– any chance at all– that Luna could be my daughter. You need to give it to me straight, Poppy–the truth. Am I Luna’s father? [intense music plays] ♪ ♪

Thank you. Wasn’t exactly a saint. Played a little loose with the wedding vows. But her sister? Come on. Well, I was hardly a saint myself. Sure, you had your fun. But there’s a difference. I know you, Poppy. There’s no way you would have betrayed Li. Tom Starr… my father? No. Oh, I just…I love this. I-I can’t believe it. Really. You two are back together. It’s just…

[sighs]

It’s pretty awesome. Is that what you’re trying to say? Yeah. Yeah. It-it’s wonderful. I mean, you two share such a– a beautiful history and an epic romance. I’m sorry. I just keep thinking about Jack and Li… like, knowing that you two are back together and I get to go home to my devoted husband… like, you are living proof that you are able to find your way back to each other, and the immense joy that brings me. How much you care about Finn.

[chuckles] You are such a good wife. Instead of thinking about yourself and all the things that are going right for you, you’re thinking about your husband and how he could be hurting. You have a very good relationship. Thank you. TAYLOR: You know what? If anyone can manifest Li and Jack getting back together, it would be you. She’s a very good matchmaker.

STEFFY: Okay, yeah. I may have experience in that department, especially with one couple in particular. So maybe you’re-you’re right. Maybe I should expand and work on a new couple. There it is. That should be your anniversary gift to Finn.

[laughs] Oh, my goodness.

TAYLOR: Right. As much as I love your faith in me, I-I just don’t think I could work that kind of magic. They have way too much baggage. Maybe you’re right. Maybe it’s too late for them. Yeah. The Nozawa family has been through a lot. But maybe they’ve been through the worst of it. And even if Li and Jack don’t find their way back to each other, maybe the future will be better for all of them. You have been a great sister to Li–you really have. Maybe now that she knows that nothing happened between us and that her…irrational theory about you getting pregnant with Luna in her own damn home is completely insane, I’m guessing she’s gonna do a complete 180… and that she is going to go out of her way to show her appreciation for you… considering that you have done nothing to justify her treatment of you. LI: I’ve shocked you, haven’t I? Stunned you by what I’ve been saying. I mean, it’s definitely a lot to process.

You must think I’m horrible.

What? No. What I said about your aunt, that she could do such a thing. Betray me so horribly. [soft, dramatic music plays] STEFFY: I do hope things get better for Finn and his family. I mean, they deserve a break, after everything they’ve been through. Well, if Li and her sister are talking again, that’s a good start. Yeah. It’s definitely a step in the right direction. Though, I-I don’t know what they really need to overcome. And Finn doesn’t know the history? Mm-mm, no. He doesn’t talk about it much. But I know it confuses him. He doesn’t like that Li is… is really harsh towards Poppy. Well, I’m sure it wasn’t always that way. I mean, otherwise, why would Li ever allow Poppy to live with her back when Finn was starting college? I mean, they must have been friendly then. My theory–that’s when something happened. If Li’s been bottling it up for so many years, chances are you’ll never know. You’re being awfully quiet. Am I? I think I know why. I’m just… overwhelmed by everything. No. It’s more than that. You’re uncomfortable with everything I’m saying. Because you’ve always been so modest. And humble. But you really should take a lot of credit. I’m sorry. Credit for what? For being such a huge help back in the day. When you were living with us, when you were helping out, and I was working so many hours getting my law firm together. Li was at the hospital for days on end. What would we have done without you? I mean, you were always so available for Finn. Well, Finn would have been fine. I hardly d– Finn was completely self-sufficient. He had started college. I know he wasn’t a boy anymore. But you were there for him. Completely. [soft trilling notes] What you said earlier… that I should have come talk to you about it, that you would have set me straight? Yeah? Didn’t occur to me to burden you at the time with such crazy thoughts, but… maybe you’re right. Maybe I should have come talk to you. I mean, you and Penelope were so close. If anyone would have picked up on inappropriate behavior, it would have been you. I could have reassured you that she was definitely not messing around with Dad. One more thing for me to feel bad about.

What’s that?

How I treated my sister. Shunning her, basically. Made it hard for you to have any kind of meaningful relationship with either her or Luna. And that’s a shame, because Penelope cared about you. Let’s just face it. You were adored and embraced by everyone in the family. You were never treated “less than” because you were adopted. But the relationship you developed with Penelope was particularly special. A bond that ran deep. A connection I certainly was never able to have with her. She really opened up and let you in. Something I took away from you. I can only imagine how you feel finding out why. Knowing all these years I thought she betrayed me in the worst way possible with the man I loved in my own home. [heavy music plays] I realize I should probably let go of my hopes to see Finn’s parents reunited, but… I just want Finn’s happiness so much. No one deserves it more than him. You know what? Even if he’d like to see his parents back together, his true happiness lies with you, Kelly, and Hayes– his wife and his amazing children. ♪ ♪ Li chose to assume the worst. To mistreat you… judge every move you made, always calling you out, shame you about Luna’s father. Poppy, I owe you an apology. I was always so caught up in my work that I never took the time to come to your defense.

Jack, it’s okay.

No. It isn’t. Li had no right treating you like that. She was always calling you terrible names. I do wish she would have been more understanding, but… it’s not like I gave her a reason to. [small laugh] I mean, she wasn’t wrong about my drug use or my, um… penchant for men. [small laugh] So do you know? Know what? I don’t mean to pry… but now that it’s been proven that Tom Starr is not Luna’s father… …do you know who is? [heavy music plays] ♪ ♪ LUNA: See, this is why I never ask about my father. It makes you so uncomfortable. -I’m not lying to you, baby. -Well, you’re not being completely honest with me either. Well, I’m telling you the truth, the same thing I say every time you bring this up– I am your mother. I’m an independent woman, and I’m your only parent. I tried to be everything that you need. Yeah, there are times that we struggled. But you were always safe and secure and loved beyond measure. You’re the reason for every decision that I’ve made ever since I learned that I was pregnant with you. I love with all of my being. Please tell me that’s enough. I’m sorry for dropping all of this on you. I’m not trying to make you my therapist.

[laughs]

I just have so many regrets, how I mistreated your father and Penelope. Only you weren’t exactly wrong about Dad. You were just wrong about who he was cheating with. Yeah. He has earned my anger. But Penelope? I didn’t fully appreciate her. She filled in when I couldn’t. I was logging in so many hours, I just… arrogantly assumed she’d step up, take care of things. And I’m just now finally realizing how I should forever be thankful to her. For looking out for you so closely. [moody music plays] ♪ ♪ You know your mother’s right. Finn’s happiness is defined by his home, by the world he’s creating. And that includes you, sweetheart. [moody music plays] I’m not trying to interrogate you. There’s no judgement here. I just thought, you know… Bill Spencer’s not the father and Tom Starr’s not the father, and Li ruled me out as the father, even though we knew that wasn’t possible. That, uh, well, all right, you were adventurous back then. I mean, there can’t be that many candidates, can there? [Luna chuckling] All right. Who is it? I’m a person you can tell. All right. You know what? Never mind. I will stop asking questions about Luna’s paternity. Just know that I’m a person you can trust and that I’m here for you. If you ever do wanna open up… …you just open up about that man out there, Luna’s father. LUNA: I couldn’t have asked for a better childhood, but I have questions. You know, I could get answers on my own–I could get -a test or something. -No, Luna, please. Please don’t! -Just don’t. -Mom, what are you hiding from me? -Please don’t pursue this. -LUNA: Why? Out of respect for your mother. Why? Is my–is my father that horrible or something? What, is it-is it shameful or embarrassing? Mom, whatever it is, whatever you’re hiding, you can tell me. You’ve got this all wrong. You’ve lost it, Li– jabbing me twice. You’re lucky that’s all I did. Well, Jack is right. You are being ridiculous. And paranoid. All these years, my suspicions about the two of you– now it’s come down to this. The paternity test will prove you were sleeping together. [sighs] Li, For God’s sakes. Jack, it’s bad enough you cheated on me with Sheila. But to cheat on me with my own sister… -Li, that is not what ha– -Oh, save it, Penelope. You and Jack created a love child. It’s time we all face the sordid truth. JACK: So come on. It’s negative. You’re not… you’re not Luna’s father. I’m not proud of how I hounded Penelope, coming at her with a paternity test because I was so certain she was sleeping with my husband. Those tests proving Bill wasn’t the father, that Tom wasn’t either. I was so convinced it was Jack. But I was wrong. Now I don’t know who it is. Maybe we’ll never know who was Luna’s father. Maybe the-the test you ran on Tom’s liver was a false negative and maybe you should run it again. No, son. It was conclusive. Leaving us with more questions than answers. There’s a man out there who fathered Luna.

[knocking]

Dr. Finnegan?

Yes.

Your hit and run patient– his condition’s worsened. I really think– I’ll be right there.

I’m sorry, son.

No, hey, it’s okay.

[softly] Okay. LI: Tests proving Bill wasn’t the father, that Tom wasn’t either. I was so convinced, certain it was Jack. But I was wrong. Now I have no idea who it was. I was so convinced. Maybe we’ll never know who is Luna’s father. …certain it was Jack. [overlapping] …so convinced…never know… But I was wrong. Who is Luna’s father? Who is Luna’s father? No idea who it was. Did you convince the CEO? Hope and Brooke are merely an obstacle–that’s it. Yeah. It’s gonna be difficult, especially with Hope in Carter’s ear. A real uphill battle, if you ask me. Well, I’m ready for it. I’m not gonna lie. I’m surprised by Steffy’s willingness to be here, to answer to us. Yes. But looking at it from Steffy’s perspective, it does make sense. She’s clearly thought about the impact it would have on the company, what it would look like if there wasn’t a Forrester on the executive team. Okay. While that is a good point, what about the decisions that she made before she left– vetoing your ideas, insulting you and your line, firing me? She makes rash decisions based on personal feelings. You’re right–not to mention the choice words she had for us

before she left.

Exactly. Now, I have too much class to repeat the names that she called me here, but she did accuse me of manipulating Carter into turning against the Forresters. They’re trying to figure out my motive. Why go back there after what they pulled? They also might be wary about what you might be willing to pull. I understand your concerns, but I have to believe that I convinced them. Like, this is my chance to undo what they have done, play them at their own twisted game. We cannot go down like this. And it’s no secret how she feels about me, about the three of us. Exactly. So does she want this for the reasons she’s saying– to uphold Forrester name, to protect her investments– or is it a ploy, a way to exact revenge? Can she be trusted? I’m not entirely sure. So you’re saying we shouldn’t take her up on her offer? No. That’s not what I’m saying at all. I’m saying I think we should give her a chance to prove herself…and maybe she will convince the others to return as well. You mean Ridge. Mom, look, I understand that this has been a difficult time for you and your relationship. I really do, I get that, but… does that warrant inviting the trouble back in? Honey, we can’t exactly bar Steffy from the building. We need to give her a shot.

Really. We need to give her a chance here. Carter, you are the manager of the LLC. There’s nothing that she can do about that. [phone rings] It’s Carter. Carter? We discussed your proposal. And? We’d like you to come to Forrester. O-of course. I’ll-I’ll be there shortly. They wanna see me. ♪ ♪ You don’t need to bring Luna up. Even if you’re not gonna admit it, I know it affected you, thinking you had a daughter, my half-sister. And then just as quickly, she wasn’t. It’s in the past. Sure. But you were pretty psyched about having a daughter. I-I was…

before I knew the truth.

Right. And, thankfully, that’s not the case. I mean, could you imagine having to manage all that right now? [laughs] It’s enough having to manage my youngest, most inquisitive son. Seriously, you don’t need to bring her up. I don’t ever need to think of Luna again. [moody music plays] ♪ ♪ Steffy should be here soon. Are you really on board to give her a chance? Hope, I need to know what you’re thinking. I…said my piece, how I feel. I don’t think this is the best decision for the Forrester Creations that you envisioned. But… this decision does rest with you. And I trust you. If their answer was no, they wouldn’t ask to see me. That’s true, but please be careful, all right? Look, it could be some kind of a trap, all right? Now, look, you’re smart, all right? But I-but I’m… I’m leery of what these traitors might have up their sleeves. I’m gonna go in with my eyes wide open. I’ll be cautious. And Brooke, you’ve warred with her over the years, and I can only imagine how you feel about me– well, besides what you said to my face. Now here you are… wanting to return to Forrester.

CARTER: Mm. I was reminded today that I don’t wanna run a company that beats people down. That’s part of the reason why I did what I did. STEFFY: Well, like you said, it’s been… a very difficult situation. Extremely upsetting. Do I like it? No. But I’m pragmatic. And Forrester is far too important to me personally and financially to just simply walk away. I understand who has the power, who has control. And there’s nothing I can do about it. However, I do feel as though my contributions can make this company stronger. As co-CEO, I’ve had to make some tough decisions, decisions that were not always popular, but they needed to be made. Even my mom? Yes. I can’t wait for the lawyers to sort this out. I need to be here to protect my family legacy and my investments. So…do we have a deal? Steffy has a plan, of course. I don’t know what it is. But I’m assuming it’s to get control of the company, right? From the inside? She hasn’t asked for your help, right?

No. You think she will?

She hasn’t told us much.

What do we know? Steffy’s shrewd, she can’t be intimidated, and she will try to get the company away from Hope and Carter. First things first. She has to get back to work. Hey, don’t mess with that. I’m sorry. It’s just a little uncomfortable. Yeah. I believe you–Department of Corrections might not. That’s another reason why I’m glad I’m serving my time here instead of jail. She insisted we do another test because she thought your mother was up to something. But I was two steps ahead of everyone. I bought a fake test result on the dark web and when no one was looking, I switched the results. And no one saw. I mean no one, not even my Aunt Li, the big-time doctor. And when the results came back positive, you accepted it, no questions asked. The real surprise was seeing how happy you were. But it was a fabrication, a lie. Well, there’s no point in lying now. Or ever again. You got it? No more secrets, no more lies. Tom Starr is your father. April, I’m not trying to be cryptic. To be honest with you, I don’t know what this man’s tissue’s gonna tell me. But it’s important to you. Yeah. Could be. Well, then I’m glad I could help. You have. There’s just one more thing. I would like you to retrieve a blood sample for me. I can look up the storage number. Well, if it’s stored at the hospital, then I can find it by patient name. Hmm. Should still be there. Well, then it’s no problem, Dr. Finnegan. What was the name? Nozawa. Luna Nozawa. Steffy will do everything she can to get this company back in our hands. If she can get back into the company, yes. Yeah, convincing Carter is one thing, but the way that Brooke and Hope feel about her… Not a lot of trust there. No, but she knew this was gonna be an uphill battle, and she’s ready for it. Well, she’s definitely gonna be catching them off-guard.

That’s for sure.

Ha. She is the last person they’d expect to see at the door. Oh, my God, I wish I could text her right now, but… But no, but you can’t text her. She’s setting a trap right now. What are you doing texting people? It’s gonna take a lot more than that. Brooke, Hope, Carter– they’re all smart people. And wary. It’s gonna take a lot to fool them. Mm-hmm. But if anyone can do it, it’s Steffy. Forrester’s not the same company you left. Not a family business anymore. No. That mom and pop attitude served you well for a long time, but…we’re doing something new. And it’s working. We’re implementing the ideas that you and your father vetoed.

Hope for the Future is back.

CARTER: And we’re expanding the luxury brand…might even be creating a fragrance with the top nose of Paris. Wow. Seems like everything’s falling into place. I’d say so. We just needed the naysayers to stop holding us back. About that. I’ve actually had time to think about your expansion plan. I’m beginning to see its merits and possibilities. Oh. Now you’re all for it. I’m for helping Forrester compete. Just like that. As president, my primary function would be to help Carter implement his ideas. Especially with this new fragrance line. You wanna put our name on the bottle, shouldn’t you have a Forrester backing it? Ivy has jewelry. Zende is working with Hope. You say that the buyers are with you, but I’m sure they have questions, unspoken concerns. Bring me back and I guarantee you no one will be asking how the Forresters feel about this takeover. ♪ ♪ There’s so much damage surrounding your paternity. I did that. The idea of Tom Starr being my father just pushed me over the edge. I lost it, and I hate knowing that I did all those terrible things.

Dad, honestly, I don’t know what she cares about anymore other than enabling her thieving daughter or maybe being a CEO of a very successful fashion house. She jumped on that pretty quick, didn’t she? She came over here telling me it’s all for me, it’s all for us. Well, I’m not buying any of that. I don’t know what they’re trying to do over there, but you know what, she’s on the wrong ship. ‘Cause when this is all over, there’s not gonna be a spot for her anymore. Well, this is quite the whiplash. I still hate what you did. That hasn’t changed. But you still wanna work with us. Well, I’m a realist. You know that about me. I’m not about rosy projections or wishful thinking. That is true. Look, my grandfather and my father said that they’re not gonna step foot in this building. They can rail on about retribution and lawsuits, but I need to look out for the good of the company and my family’s financial future. So I am willing to swallow my pride to make sure this company doesn’t tank. Nothing is tanking–it’s quite the opposite, actually. And I’ll make sure it stays that way. If Carter makes you president. Yes. Steffy, I appreciate your offer and your reasoning. I didn’t want your family to leave. I asked you all to stay on. So is that a yes? We need time to talk. We’ll get back to you soon. Luna, I wanna be really clear about what’s happening here. I’m giving you a chance to improve yourself. But what you did by faking that paternity test and… well beyond that… so crossed a line. Now listen to me. And any ideas you have, any goal of becoming a Spencer– that isn’t gonna happen. [clattering] Dr. Finnegan, the blood sample and everything else you requested. Was it stored properly? According to the paperwork, it’s still viable. There is some information about the donor, Luna Nozawa. Hmm. I think this will provide even more. What about Tom Starr’s liver? We’re certain it’s still viable?

Not as a transplant.

But it could yield reliable genetic results.

Excellent. Thank you, April. Now I have everything I need to determine if Tom Starr was Luna’s father. So what are you thinking, Carter?

Same here. I mean, it’s a ploy, right? It has to be. Steffy wanting to come back to the company? Agreeing to take orders from us? Surprising, but she does have a point.

About her investments?

About her legacy. Mm. Well, that wasn’t a factor when she walked out with Eric and Ridge. Well, maybe she’s been hearing the buzz around here, around the jewelry line, Daphne Rose being spotted in the building. So you think she regrets leaving? Well, I think that’s clear. I just can’t decide if she really wants to help us. I think we need to be cautious. I agree. There’s a lot on the line. And right now, the only people I’m sure I can trust are in this room. We should have heard from Steffy by now, right? Maybe they’re working out a deal. Or they shut her down and she’s afraid to tell us.

TAYLOR: Steffy.

RIDGE: Steffy.

Hey, did you talk to Carter?

BOTH: What’d he say? I spoke to Hope. I spoke to Carter. Brooke was there too. Well, they must have been shocked to see you. Yeah, shocked and suspicious. I told you they’d be on their guard. Well, I was prepared for that. I told them that I was angry and hurt and I hated what they did to Dad and Granddad, but I-I hate to see Forrester go under, so I…I offered to come back. In what capacity?

President.

Not CEO? That isn’t… No. There’s no way Brooke would give me that position. Look, I said I would do everything in my power to help them out, I would implement their ideas, and I would answer to them if I have to.

You really said that?

They’re traitors. They’re not stupid. They know you. Well, I didn’t pretend to be anything else–I kept it real. A Forrester on the executive team–it gives them legitimacy. It puts the buyers at ease. It keeps the company strong and stable. It’s an asset to our company. I’m not about to walk away and destroy it.

That does sound like you.

So? What’d they say? They-they gonna take you back?

Not yet.

But they didn’t say no. Well, I think they need some time to think it over, but… I got the impression they’re leaning toward yes. I think there’s a chance that this could work out. And once I’m in there and they welcome me back, I can set my plan in motion. They’ll be so busy keeping an eye on me, they’ll never know what hit ’em. While she may have made a good pitch, it does beg the question… why is Steffy being so accommodating and accepting? Hope and Carter did this to us, and I’m gonna make them pay for stealing our company. It’s only a matter of time before Forrester Creations is ours again.
