Victor: So audra, your push to convince us to merge newman media with adam’s company was at his request?

Audra: Yes, to do whatever it takes to convince you to approve it.

Nikki: What’s his leverage?

Audra: He managed to get his hands on some evidence of a cover-up I perpetuated for tucker while I was at mccall. Either I do what adam says to make this merger happen or he exposes what he’s got. It could destroy me.

Nikki: And there it is. Now that you are finally laying all of your cards out on the table, why don’t you tell us where nate fits into all of this?

Victoria: Have you talked to audra recently?

Nate: Uh, not in the last few hours. Why?

Victoria: Hm. It seems that she met with my mom and she pitched the same idea that you had.

Nate: Oh, uh, which idea is that?

Victoria: Oh, to merge adam’s company with newman media. How about that for a coincidental?

Nate: Huh. How about that?

Victoria: Nate, please. You can’t possibly think that I would be so naive.

Nate: I’m not sure what you’re trying to imply.

Victoria: I’m not trying to imply anything, I’m saying it. Audra is savvy enough to know that this merger would probably not be in her best interest and would most likely lead to her demotion and you and I both know that she is not going to be so willing to give up her top spot at newman media that easily. Look, you and I know each other too well for this. Just tell me what you and audra are up to.

[ Phone ringing ]

Adam: Hey, pop. Welcome back. Was your trip productive?

Victor: We’ll discuss it when I see you at the ranch. Now.

Sally: Oh. Happy housewarming. It’s better late than never. Or is this a bad time?

Ashley: So, let’s hear it. What’s this really about?

Jack: It’s called a wedding gift.

Ashley: No strings attached?

Jack: I’m giving you everything you wanted. All of the assets from the company you built in paris, a buyout of your interest in jabot. Everything except the original patents and those that you developed on your own are yours to keep.

Ashley: So then, I would just separate from the company and that’s it.

Jack: Which is precisely what you said you wanted when you first broached the idea of starting a new company with tucker. Has that changed? And if so, why? You love rich, delicious ice cream.

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Abby: We have so many appetizers in the kitchen if you’d like to check those out.

Ashley: Thanks, honey. In a minute. I’ll tell you what’s changed, your attitude.

Jack: I’m not sure what you mean by that.

Ashley: I always wanted my company back. As you recall a few weeks ago, you offered it to me along with my patents and then you changed your mind. You did a 180 and you rescinded your offer. So, is that what you’re doing right now, jack? You’re doing a little bait and switch on the worst possible day, my wedding day?

Jack: What this is, what this is supposed to be is a generous gesture on my part and hopefully, a genuine effort to end the war between us.

Tucker: All right, jack, on behalf of ashley and myself, I would like to thank you for that–

Ashley: Wait a second. What are you doing?

Tucker: I’m taking this deal before he snatches it away so we can get back to celebrating our wedding. I don’t know if you recall, we stood right there a few minutes ago and exchanged vows. And the sooner we get this jabot crap over with, the sooner we can spend our first night together as husband and wife or our second, first night, whatever.

[ Kyle sighing ]

Diane: Kyle?

Kyle: Night, mom. I’m out of here.

Diane: You just got here. You’re half an hour late and you’re leaving already.

Kyle: You know, to be honest, I’m sorry I even came. I hate that I interrupted a wonderful night with audra to step into this mess. Enjoy the reception.

Diane: Please. Please stay. This is family.

Kyle: Yeah. Where’s norman rockwell when you need him, mom?

Diane: Look, I know what you’re doing. You’re in a lot of pain and you’re trying to drown it with an affair that will end up being meaningless. I mean, trust me, you’re going to regret this.

Kyle: You know what, mom? Not tonight.

Nate: I did have a brief conversation with audra about this possible merger. I was pointing out what a powerhouse we could build by combining two companies that would be redundant on their own. I don’t know, I guess she caught on to my excitement about it and thought if she made a successful pitch to nikki, she’d end up with a higher position in the bigger company. I’m telling you, victoria, this merger makes too much sense not to happen.

Victoria: I’m sorry, but we both know that audra is a lot smarter than that. There’s no way that she would have a chance of winning in that situation. Especially not with adam and nick and sharon involved. And why would she push so hard for something that would jeopardize the executive position that she’s already in?

Nate: I can’t answer that.

Victoria: I think you can. I think there’s something you’re not telling me. Now, I’d like to think that you and I would never play games with one another. I really hope that I’m not wrong.

Sally: Wow. Very nice.

Adam: Thank you.

Sally: Yeah, down to earth suits you. I meant that as a compliment. Really, I– I– I like it. Good for you.

Adam: Well, thanks. I am liking it too. Have you heard from nick?

Sally: Yeah. Uh, he is finally flying back first thing in the morning.

Adam: Mm, finally is right. I’m sure you two are looking forward to seeing each other again. Look, I would uh, love to stick around and uh, offer you a drink, but I was just heading out to the ranch. I’ve been summoned by his majesty.

Sally: Oh, he’s back from europe?

Adam: Mm-hmm.

Sally: Okay. Well, perfect, I will join you.

Adam: Why on earth would you do that?

Sally: So I can tell him face to face that I am accepting his offer to head up his new design company.

Adam: Uh, I would probably wait on that. I could tell from his tone that he’s intending to rip into me about something.

Sally: Well, even better. I’ll give him the good news and I’ll soften him up for you.

Adam: I appreciate that, I do. But I think it’s better if I face him alone and he gets whatever this is out of his system. Also, I don’t want to steal your thunder. So, uh, why don’t you just stay here? Make yourself a drink. Why don’t you order some dinner?

Sally: Are you sure?

Adam: This isn’t a ploy, I promise. Besides, I’m sure you’re getting sick of the G.C.A.C. Room service menu.

Sally: Well, yeah, I can’t argue with that.

Adam: Well, good. Then, it’s settled. Why don’t you make yourself at home, get comfortable? It shouldn’t take too long. And actually, there is something that I would like to talk to you about when I get back.

Audra: Please don’t blame nate for this. I told him that adam has me backed into a corner. There was absolutely no intent on his part to be malicious or– or manipulative. He was just trying to protect me and help me get out of my bad situation. That’s why he claimed that the merger idea was his. I honestly thought that I could work this out on my own, but I just managed to dig myself in deeper by trying. I should’ve come to you immediately and alerted you to what was going on. And I apologize. You have no idea how much I value newman media and my position there. And I’ll certainly never take for granted the opportunity that the two of you and victoria and nate have given me. Which is why I finally come to you for advice. Ughh!

Nate: You’re right. I owe you the truth.

Victoria: Yes, you do.

Nate: Your brother is blackmailing audra over something she did to help keep tucker out of trouble. Adam’s price, make the merger happen with newman media.

Victoria: Oh, of course.

Nate: I agreed to help audra to protect newman and most importantly, you from adam’s threat that if he didn’t get what he wanted–

Victoria: His precious newman media.

Nate: Yes, he’d go public with the scandal. Which would reflect badly on newman media, compliments of its current C.E.O., Audra charles.

Victoria: Unbelievable.

Nate: I was sure you’d only approve of it if it made sense for newman enterprises. But you made it clear that you didn’t feel it was the right move to make, so I dropped the issue.

Victoria: Well, I can’t say that any of this surprises me. It’s classic adam. So, just how serious is the situation?

Victor: Audra, let me clarify how this works. You tell us everything, then I will decide whether we help you.

Audra: That seems fair.

Victor: All right, let’s hear it.

Audra: There was a very popular singer that was signed to one of tucker’s, uh, labels. And while on tour he, um, he entertained himself by– by sleeping with underage girls.

Nikki: Oh, dear god.

Audra: The mccall pr department found out, but the tour was making so much money that they decided to sit on the evidence, uh, until it ended. And then, the tour was over and the singer was arrested. Tucker was off on one of his sabbaticals, so he had no idea what was going on until after the fact. And then he immediately fired the people in pr who participated in the cover-up.

Nikki: Good. So, what’s the problem?

Audra: Well, the problem is, then tucker put me in charge of erasing every single trace of the cover-up. He wanted to make it seem as if it never happened.

Victor: And you cooperated?

Audra: I was following my boss’s orders. But yes, I cooperated.

Nikki: So, how did adam find out about this?

Audra: Well, I kept tucker um, up to date through an anonymous email account I created, which unfortunately went to his spam folder, so he never saw the messages.

Victor: So, when adam took over mccall, he found those email exchanges, right?

Nikki: And realized he could use them to his advantage.

Audra: If I facilitate the merger, adam keeps his mouth shut. And if I don’t–

Nikki: Then, he exposes you. We get that.

Audra: I didn’t know what to do, so I confessed the whole thing to nate because I knew that I could trust him. And then he offered to help, uh, convince victoria to go through with the merger, but only because he really believes that the move would benefit newman enterprises.

Nikki: And then, you pitched the idea to me.

Audra: Yeah. I was certain you were the one person on earth who could convince your husband. It was deceitful of me. And I am so sorry, mrs. Newman. I, um, I was frightened, I felt trapped and I didn’t think things through. But I promise you, if you let me survive this nightmare at newman, nothing like this will ever, ever happen again.

Victor: No, it won’T.

Adam: Sorry, I’m a little late. I got… held up.

Victor: Did you really think you were gonna get away with this?

Jack: Ashley, please hear me out. It was my understanding that we reached a detente with abby earlier and diane and I have made the effort to come to your wedding, even though we don’t believe in it.

Ashley: That’s not helping, jack.

Jack: But I have given you the freedom you wanted from jabot, along with all of the stuff you brought from paris the last time you left us. So, I ask you and I really want to know, what more can I do? What more do you want?

Ashley: You’re right. I haven’t handled that well and I apologize to you, I apologize to everybody. I’m sorry. I appreciate the wedding gift. Thank you very much. And I’m also grateful that the two of you came today. I know that wasn’t easy. I appreciate it.

Diane: Oh, well, thank you. We appreciate the invite and um, ashley, congratulations on your new life and your new business.

Ashley: Thank you.

Diane: Jack and I are both so relieved that you won’t have to worry about jabot anymore. Trust me, your father’s company will be in good hands.

[ Billy chuckling ]

Billy: You’re kidding, right? I mean, you gotta be kidding. Ashley, as your brother, trust me, take the offer because with diane involved, the family, the company, all of it, it’s gonna go to hell.

Jack: What is it with you? You can’t go five minutes without making some snide comment to piss me off. What is it? Insecurity? Jealousy? Just bad habits?

Billy: Do I have to pick one, jack? You know what? Why don’t you stop gaslighting our sister, you sanctimonious ass–

Tucker: I’m sorry. Would you please shut up? This is supposed to be our evening. Ashley’s and mine, not yours. And I’ll be damned if anything is going to let you ruin it. If this isn’t where you wanna spend your evening, take it somewhere else. Or you know what? Let’s you and I take it somewhere else. My apologies.

Ashley: No, it’s– we’re not going anywhere. Oh with cirkul, your water is deliciously flavored at the turn of a dial, with zero sugar and zero calories. And cirkul has over 40 flavors, so your water can be as unique as you are. Try cirkul at drinkcirkul.Com pepcid complete works fast and lasts

Ashley: No, after all the trouble that devon and abby have gone to for this wedding, we’re not going anywhere.

Abby: Mom, it really wasn’t any trouble. We just wanted you to have a special celebration.

Devon: Yeah. And listen, my dad is right. This is supposed to be his and ashley’s day, okay? It’s not an opportunity for you guys to come together and take shots at each other.

Traci: And as I recall, the two of you promised a truce tonight. I was standing right there when you promised it and I am embarrassed to say I fell for it. So, if you could just put this all aside and we could enjoy this lovely party.

Jack: I think maybe it’s time for us to leave. I sincerely hope you can enjoy and trust this wedding gift.

Abby: Uncle jack, uncle jack. Please, you really don’t have to go.

Jack: I do have to go and I apologize. I had no idea my wedding gift would backfire quite so spectacularly.

Diane: Good night.

[ Abby sighing ]

Devon: Yeah.

Ashley: So, do we know how to throw a party or what?

Tucker: Wedding of the century.

Ashley: Yeah. Billy, I’m sorry. Uh, what jack said, did it hurt you?

Billy: No, it’s okay. There’s no need to apologize. I’ve got thick skin. I’m an abbott, okay? So, mr. And mrs., Congratulations. I wish you nothing but the best.

Tucker: Thanks.

Ashley: Yeah, bye.

Billy: Shall we?

Tucker: Bye.

Ashley: Okay. Well, no problem. More champagne for us, right?

Tucker: I’ll drink to that. See what I did there?

Ashley: That’s good. So, anybody want some cake?

Tucker: I want some cake.

Ashley: Okay, let’s get cake. Yeah.

Abby: Well, that’s not exactly how I pictured this evening going.

Devon: Well, considering the, uh, the guest list, we probably should have.

Adam: Relax, I’m not gonna insult your intelligence by pretending that I don’t know what this is about.

Victor: Good.

Adam: I assume that you filled them in on, um…

Audra: Everything.

Nikki: And she does mean everything, adam.

Adam: Well, I’m sorry to disappoint the three of you, but I won’t deny any bit of it. I saw an opportunity and I took advantage of it to try to get something that I wanted. Call it genetic. Have to say, I’m a little disappointed in you though. I didn’t think that you were a coward.

Audra: What other choice did you leave me? You had to know I’d look for an escape route the minute you tried to blackmail me. You know, you demanded that I go along with a plan that would probably cost me my job if I pulled it off. So, of course, I looked for an alternate solution.

Adam: Well, you never know what I might have offered you, so now you will never know–

Victor: Enough! You shut up and listen now.

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

What can you do

with sensitive skin?

[ Sally exhaling ]

[ Sally sighing ]

Victor: Ms. Charles, I want you to know that I appreciate the fact that you came forward and told me and nikki everything you know. And I admire the fact that you managed to get out from under our son’s grip.

Audra: I just hope that my hesitation doesn’t jeopardize my position at newman media.

Victor: No, it won’T.

Audra: You have no idea how much that means to me, mr. Newman.

Victor: Now, if you don’t mind, I’d like a few moments alone with my son.

Audra: Of course. Thank you both so much for your time and understanding.

[ Kyle sighing ]

Victor: Son, how dare you go behind my back like this, I mean blackmail. Come on, boy.

Adam: You made your fortune by doing the same kind of thing, probably more times than you can count.

Victor: But I’m not talking about me. I’m talking about you and your constant defiance.

Adam: Come on, dad, don’t take it so personally.

Victor: It is very personal to me, son. I’ve given you one opportunity after the other. One lucrative opportunity after the other, including this last one.

Adam: This last one?

Victor: Yeah.

Adam: Well, then you hired nicholas to watch over me and make sure that I play well with others.

Victor: But you need someone to look over you.

Adam: I don’T.

Victor: This was a case in point.

Adam: I don’T.

Victor: Is your hostility towards me so deep that you don’t mind being duplicitous with your own family, with your own father?

Nikki: And let me tell you something. I have begged your father to stop hoping for you to change because I don’t believe you can and you just keep proving me right.

Victor: Listen to me carefully now. This mccall disaster cannot go public. So whatever evidence you’re holding over audra charles, you’ve got to eliminate it.

Adam: Anything else?

Victor: Yes, son. I don’t know how much longer I can do this. Your constant defiance is getting on my nerves. I can’t do it anymore.

Adam: Well then, don’T.

Victor: Listen to me. I should fire your ass because of this, but I won’T. I can’t because I just acquired a lot of capital from europe to finance your company! I’m not gonna lose those damn investors because of you! You’re hanging by a thread.

Nate: Victoria, please don’t be too hard on audra when you talk to her. I’m sure she was just scared for you to find out what she did for tucker in the past.

Victoria: You know, I have to admit, I’m a little conflicted by all of this. On one hand, I admire her willingness to protect her employer, but on the other hand, covering up a heinous crime committed by one of the company’s singers–

Nate: No, no, she didn’t cover up the crime. She covered up the actions of the pr department. It was after the fact and he’d already been arrested. Yes, the actions of the pr team were heinous. If word got out, it would have tanked mccall unlimited.

Victoria: So, what audra did was done solely to keep mccall safe moving forward.

Nate: Exactly. And frankly, I– I– I think she should get a pass for that. The real problem, as I see it is adam’s relentless determination to take back newman media.

Victoria: You know, I’m not forgetting that you and I discussed sabotaging mccall unlimited to keep adam from doing any damage to newman enterprises. But of course, that was before my father brought it under the newman umbrella.

Nate: The problem isn’t the company, it isn’t audra. It’s adam and you’ve known that all along. I think it’s time to finally push your brother off the cliff. (Geri) I smoked and I have copd.

Nikki: Victor, how much longer are you going to put up with adam’s outrageous, disrespectful behavior?

Victor: You saw his face when he left. I think I got through to him.

Nikki: There’s no such thing when it comes to adam.

Victor: Time will tell.

Nikki: Yes, it will. And that’s what I’m worried about. Darling, it just… it breaks my heart when I see you so angry because I know how much hurt is lying right beneath it. And I know how much you want to hear him say, “thanks, dad.” But you’re never going to hear it. Not because you don’t deserve it, but because when it comes to adam, enough is never enough.

Adam: You stayed.

Sally: You asked me to.

Victoria: Well.

Audra: Hi.

Victoria: Hi. You seem very pleased.

Audra: I am uh, very. Thanks to a friend’s advice, I dodged a very dangerous bullet.

Victoria: How interesting. I would love to hear all about it. First thing in the morning. In fact, I insist. It seems like you and I have several things to discuss.

Jack: To us, for surviving an evening we were both dreading.

Diane: Ugh. No kidding.

Jack: I hated watching ashley marry that jackass, but I’m still shocked at her reluctance to accept my very generous gift.

Traci: That’s what shocked you, jack? Really? Our sister had every reason to behave the way she did. – Look mom! – Wow!

Nate: Victoria could tell I was holding something back from her, so I filled her in on what’s going on. I’m done keeping secrets.

Audra: Good. I’m glad. I just came clean with victor and nikki, so it’s all out in the open. I know firsthand what a relief that is. Oh, and I’m sure you want to meet with me in the morning to assess what this threat means for newman media. Look, I can promise you right now that that threat has been neutralized and so has adam. He no longer has any power over me, thanks to your father.

Sally: Let me guess, things did not go well with your father. What happened?

[ Adam sighing ]

Adam: It’s not worth talking about. Wow, you unpacked some of my boxes. Thank you. You didn’t need to do that.

Sally: Well, I didn’t just do it for you, I did it for me ’cause I got bored. But I’m really glad I did because in the process I came across these. I can’t believe you held on to these. Why did you do that?

Adam: I wanted to remind myself that once, whether I deserved it or not, I was happy. And I didn’t want to forget what that felt like.

[ Knock on door ]

Kyle: Hey, hey.

Audra: Hey, hey.

Kyle: So, how did it go?

[ Audra sighing ]

Audra: You, mr. Abbott, are a genius.

Kyle: Oh, yes. But let’s not talk it to death.

Billy: Hey, I’m sorry about everything, okay? The way everything turned out tonight. That was a little intense and uh, I really wish you weren’t exposed to that full-on abbott family meltdown.

Chelsea: That’s not actually what upset me the most. I know that performance of yours was for the sake of this trojan horse scheme thing you got going on with jack and diane, but I haven’t seen you like that in years. Not since johnny was born. And frankly, it made me shudder.

Billy: Well, if you bought that act, then hopefully, ashley and tucker did too. Look, that’s all that was, okay? It was just an act, I promise you. It’s nothing you need to worry about.

Traci: Why wouldn’t ashley be a little reluctant to accept your generous offer, jack? She doesn’t trust you. She doesn’t trust either one of you. And think about it, why would she?

Jack: I told ashley and I am telling you, that gift came from my heart with no strings attached.

Diane: It was what she wanted, traci. Jack truly thought she’d be pleased.

Traci: Really? After everything we’ve been through. After everything that happened the last time where ashley had to practically flee to paris, leaving jack and jabot flailing to keep from falling apart. Now, she’s supposed to believe that you’re just gonna hand it all back to her, with no agenda? That same non-agenda you’ve got billy wrapped up in the middle of, right? What the hell are you two up to? Because get ready, whatever it is, you are about to rip this family apart again.

Tucker: Wow, I can’t believe we actually did it. I am, at this very moment, without a doubt, the luckiest, happiest man in the world. To the most exquisite woman on the face of the earth.

Ashley: And, um, to the most, um…

Tucker: No, that’s right. That’s it. I’m– I’m the most.

Ashley: You are the most.

Tucker: I love you. Let’s dance. We never had our first dance.

Ashley: Okay. You know what?

Tucker: What?

Ashley: I still can’t believe I’m saying this. I love you too.

Then we didn’t stay together

but I know

Tucker: Then, nothing else matters.

We’ll stay together

soon as you come home

and this time

it’ll be forever

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Thank you very much. We appreciate it. Hey, david, I’m going to send you what I have from the courthouse. No, I-I’m not going to be back till after lunch. Okay. Talk to you later. Hi. Missed you this morning at the editorial board meeting. Yeah. Sorry about that, but I have a very good reason. I got an on-the-record quote from judge wright for your op-ed piece this weekend. Great, thanks.

[ Sighs ] What brings you down to the pool? A little lunchtime swim? God forbid. No, I have a lunch date.

[ Chuckles ] Interesting. Me, too. Oh, put the flowers on that table. On it. And then the p late of cheese and crackers beside it. Mm-hmm. And make sure there’s nice napkins on the table, too.

[ Scoffs ] How nice?

[ Chuckles ] Tj, come on. Today’s important. We need to make a good first impression. I know, but will nicer napkins really make a difference?

[ Sighs ] I know I’m getting carried away. I just want everything to be perfect. Because today could be the day we meet the woman who will be carrying our child.

[ Chuckles softly ] 19. Good. One more. One more. One more. One more. Come on.[ Breathing heavily ] And…20. Let’s take a break.

[ Breathing heavily ] I don’t need one. I know. I know you might not, but I do. I’m not used to new clients starting at this pace. Most clients start a little slower.

[ Breathing heavily ] Roy, you know I’m not most people. Yeah, I know. You are wearing me out.

[ Chuckles ]

[ Exhales deeply ] Brook lynn! Hi. I’m so glad I ran into you. Oh, yeah? What’s up? Well, I called ferncliff for an update on sasha, and they wouldn’t tell me anything. But they did tell me that she can no longer have visitors? I’m really concerned. Fortunately, you’re right to be concerned. What does that mean? Well, when I saw her the other day, she was in pretty bad shape. I’m actually really worried about her.

[ Sighs ] Oh, sonny. I need an update, please, on our daughter. Our daughter who is currently being cared for by the nanny from hell. Good morning, ava. Okay, fine. Good morning. Please, sonny, I’m — I’m worried. I can’t stand the thought of avery in the hands of that criminal. Ava, you need to relax. I have it all under control. Avery: Hi, gabe. Hey. How was your first day at camp, avery? I loved it. Yeah. What’d you do? Well — I’m sure avery could tell you all about it for hours, but we know you’re working, right? So, we’ll leave you to your job.

Boss, it’s me. Yeah. I followed betty and avery back to your penthouse from day camp. Okay. I do not want you to let avery out of your sight for one second. You let betty go into the penthouse, do what she needs to do, then you go ahead and go about your business. We need to let her think that she’s, you know, working hard and she’s outsmarting us. Copy that. What do you say, avery? That was a big first day at camp. Why don’t you go up to your room and take a nap? Naps are for babies. I’m gonna watch tv. Hi. Looks like you’re working really hard. Doing what I can. Focusing on my upper body. You know, the part that still functions. Trina said that you two spoke.

[ Sighs ] And she said you had a really, really good conversation. As a matter of fact, I believe she called it a breakthrough.

[ Scoffs ] I wouldn’t go that far. Did she say breakthrough? She did. I think she’s finally getting used to the fact that, you know, she has two dads. Did trina actually say that? No, no. But that was my… interpretation.

[ Sighs ] But she was really happy about the conversation that you had, a-and it inspired me. And I was hoping that you and I… that we could have a similar conversation. Trina and I don’t have the same issues you and I do. I know that, curtis. So how would we do that? By starting over. She’s coming up. No, no, no. Hold on a second. I liked the other shirt better. Kidding. Kidding. Hey, you look perfect. Really?

[ Inhales, exhales deeply ] Thank you.

[ Knock on door ] Ready? Here we go. Surrogate candidate number one. Okay. Hi. Hi. Andrea gates. Thomas? Yes. Uh, you can call me tj. Please, come in. Hi, andrea. This is molly. Molly lansing-davis. So nice to meet you. What happened to your foot? Oh, just an embarrassing fall when I missed some steps on some stairs in ridiculous high heels. Ouch. [ Chuckles ] The — the boot will be long gone before a baby would arrive. Would you like something to drink? We have water. Flat or sparkling? I’m fine, thank you.

[ Chuckles ] Shall we sit? Yeah. Sorry if we seem a bit nervous. You’re our first surrogacy candidate we’re meeting with. I understand that this could be an awkward situation. You’re inviting a complete stranger into your home, and you’re going to start asking some very personal questions. Right, but before we get to the personal questions, let me tell you a little about us. I’m a doctor at G.H. Molly is an attorney working in the da’s office. So our child will be taken care of financially. And when it comes to family, we both have lots of loved ones in town who will love and help us raise our baby. Oh, that’s terrific. I’m married to a great guy, ben. Uh, and we have one child, randy. Um, I recently lost my job — cutbacks — so we’re just trying to supplement our incomes. So are there any significant health issues in your family history? Not much. Um… my maternal grandfather died of lung cancer, but he was a heavy smoker. He died my senior year of high school. Watching him suffer like that — I’ve never had a single cigarette in my life. If it works out that you’re our surrogate, how would you feel about us attending doctor’s appointments so we could watch the baby’s progress? Oh [Chuckles] It never occurred to me that both of you wouldn’t be at every single doctor’s appointment. I have no idea why I said it was a lunch date. It’s clearly not a date. It’s work related. There she is now. Alexis, gregory, it’s nice to see you. Are you joining us for lunch? No. No, I’m, uh… …having lunch with family. Enjoy your meal. I can’t believe this is happening to sasha. I-I mean, if she’s in such bad shape, I don’t get this “no visitors” policy. I mean, wouldn’t it help sasha to know that people are there to support her? You would think. But when I saw her the other day, she was really upset and incoherent. I mean, it was really painful to watch. It was like she was having a complete break with reality. I just don’t get it. I don’t — I don’t get it. She was doing so great. This doesn’t make any sense. Well [Sighs] Let’s just hope that she’s getting the help that she deserves. If you’ll excuse me, my lunch companion is here. Oh, yeah.

[ Softly ] Hi. Brook lynn, nice to see you. I thought chase would be arriving with you for our lunch. Yes. He just texted me that he’s going to be late. So, um, for now, it looks like it’s just the two of us.

I don’t know how you can be so calm knowing that our daughter is with that dangerous woman. Avery is never going to be alone with betty. Dex has been tailing her, you know, all day. Gabe is outside the door. Dex is going to let her go in the penthouse and try to look for things. And then, he’s going to go in and make his presence known. Okay. Okay. I’ll just — I’ll feel so much better when this is over. I will, too, but in the meantime, gabe and — and dex are gonna make sure that avery is safe. And we’re just going to wait for betty to find what I planted for her. I’m so sorry that chase is gonna be late. Um, you know how super dedicated he is to his work. Oh, no, no. No need to apologize. It’s nice to see chase so happy being a detective again. I’m really proud of the work he does. Oh, me, too. Besides, this gives us a chance to get to know each other better. I know that your passion is in the music business, but you run social media for deception. Mm-hmm. So, tell me, what did you study in college? Uh…

[ Chuckles nervously ] So, uh, what’s the purpose of this lunch, alexis? What are you trying to figure out about me this time?

[ Chuckles ] Esme, I understand that, because of your experiences with other cassadines, that you find it hard to trust me. What I can tell you is that I’ve been very upfront about the reasons that I hired you, and other than that, I have no agenda.

[ Exhales sharply ] You can understand why I’m a little suspicious. I can, but it’s a beautiful day, and I didn’t want to have another salad at my desk. So, you just invited me here because you wanted to get out of the office? That, and I believe that an employer needs to let their employee know when they’re doing a good job. You, esme, as of late, have been doing a good job. So, thank you for digging in and trying harder. You really mean that? Well, if you don’t have any other questions, I just want to assure you that I’ve thought about this a lot, and if I was ever gonna be a surrogate, now kind of feels like the perfect time. My child’s just a baby, so he won’t remember it or think he’s having a little brother or sister. That’s very sensitive of you. Thank you. Well, it was nice to meet you. We’ll be in touch. I’ll walk you out. It was very nice to meet you, andrea. You, too. Thank you.

[ Door closes ] I liked her…

[ Chuckles ] …A lot. Me, too.

[ Both inhale deeply ] Okay. Phew. Ready for number two? Number one is going to be hard to beat. It’s too much. I can’t do it. What’s too much? You and me.

[ Sighs ] I’m trying to adapt to a life in a wheelchair. Okay? Trina and I are starting to figure things out, and [Breathes deeply] I can’t deal with a relationship on top of all of that. I understand where you’re coming from, curtis, I really do, but you don’t have to learn to live life in a wheelchair all by yourself. You have people. You have people to lean on. I’m here. I’m right here for you. And so is trina. Okay, star patient. Ready to continue with round 2?

Me, in my experience,we are the sum of our parts. Which means what? It means that people may forgive you, but they’re not going to forget what you’ve done. Now, you’ve had a very high-profile, very negative past. And I understand you may not remember that version of you, but others will, and they will be slow to trust you. Great pep talk. Pep talks have chapters. That chapter was about your past. The next chapter is about an opportunity that awaits you. In business, people have to prove themselves day after day. And every day is an opportunity for you now to change the image of what you were before into someone that somebody can trust. Do you see what I’m saying? Now, you got off to a spectacularly bad beginning. But you now seem to have turned a corner and are able to handle this job. Thank you. Um, I think that I can. The inner workings of the invader actually really interest me. I mean, all the moving parts, and how, when a story drops, everything can just change on a dime. I mean, that’s really exciting. But can I ask you a question? Depends what the question is. It’s about your job as editor. Um, spencer told me that this is actually a second career for you. That you used to be a big-shot lawyer. Do you ever miss your old life? What did I study in college? Uh, well, I did go to pcu for a year, but it didn’t really work out. Oh, that’s too bad. I’m sure it’s my being a professor all those years has made me biased. Have you thought about going back to complete your degree? Uh, college was never really my thing. Let’s just say I had a pretty unconventional childhood. My parents split when I was pretty young, and, um, I went back and forth a lot between brooklyn and upstate new york, so… yeah, no, I would imagine that, uh, living with a single mom versus life in a posh family mansion would be challenging for a little girl. Yes. Especially with two extremely different extended families — the cerullos and the quartermaines. I mean, the cerullos are — are loving and loud and artsy, and the quartermaines are intense and loud and, um, business-centric. Yes, I know. I’ve met your grandmother. Right. My grandmother really, uh, gets under your skin, huh? Well, I have to say, I’ve never seen somebody get under my grandmother’s skin the way that you have. You really push my grandmother’s buttons.

[ Exhales sharply ] Hello. You must be chelsea brennan. That’s me. I’m divorced, though my ex and i do a pretty good job co-parenting our two kids. I’m in good health, and I’ll be honest, I’m doing this to get ahead financially. Although I do love being pregnant, and my kids bring me so much joy. How was your second pregnancy different than your first one? I was so nervous and anxious during my first pregnancy. Every rumble, every bump, I was afraid that it wasn’t normal because I’d never been pregnant before. But with baby number two, it was so easy. I was like, I know what this feeling means now. Would you be open to reading to our baby while you’re pregnant, or listening to certain music? Oh, my gosh. Yes. That’s — that’s a total yes.

[ Chuckles ] During both pregnancies, I read to the babies, and I played music for them — everything from classical to classic rock. I’m a big aerosmith fan.

[ Chuckles ] I love baseball, and both my pregnancies were during the summer, so we watched a lot of baseball. Do you follow any special dietary plan when you’re pregnant? I don’t normally eat red meat. Fish and chicken, mostly. But I went with what the baby was craving. Baby number one was really into chicken [Chuckles] But baby number two wasn’t so much into meat. I got most of my protein from tofu. Full disclosure, I don’t think I’ll ever eat tofu again.

[ All laughing ] Hi, I’m — I’m portia. I’m curtis’ wife. I’m roy. Nice to meet you, portia. Nice to meet you, too. I was wondering if it’s okay if I stay and watch the rest of the session? I want to see how I can help curtis. Uh, stephanie, could you please take curtis over to the bands and get him started on his stretching exercises? Thank you. Curtis looks like he’s doing really, really well. So, what can I do to help? I’ve been working with people with spinal cord injuries for a lot of years. It’s an emotional experience as well as a physical one. So I have to ask — what exactly do you think you can do for curtis? Well, your grandmother definitely pushes my buttons.

[ Laughs ] Well, my grandmother has never shied away from conflict. If anything, she actually runs towards it. And I know for people who aren’t used to that, it could be a lot, but she can be very loving. I mean, not in your typical grandmother way. I mean, she’s not the type of grandmother who’s gonna sit back and knit or bake you cookies, if you know what I mean.

[ Laughs ] I do. But, um, if I could say one thing about tracy quartermaine, it is that if she really loves you, she will always have your back. Okay, but what does that mean in actuality? Why do you need tracy to have your back? I am so sorry I’m late. Work held me up. Oh, no, of course. It’s all good. Um, hey, we know how important your job is to you, especially all those months away from it. Anything you can talk about? Well, I can’t go into details, but I am actually working on several different cases.

[ Inhales deeply ] I hope you found something to talk about. We did. We’ve been discussing the importance of an education. Yes, I 100% agree with that.

[ Chuckles ] Whoever betty is working for is very determined to find out about my deal with pikeman. So what I did is I put out some false information that betty’s going to find. Right? And then she’s going to take that false information right back to her boss. And then we’re going to figure out who she’s working for. It’s what you call cutting the snake off at the head. Okay, well, that sounds great, but really, what I need, what I really need is nikolas’s body back. Avery, I think if you weren’t so tired, you wouldn’t be fighting me on this. You really need to rest and take a nap. No, I want to watch cartoons. Alright, then. If you won’t nap, will you watch them on your tablet using headphones? How much longer before you go inside? I’ll give it a few more minutes. Should give betty plenty of time to start looking around.

[ Footsteps approach ] Hey, gabe, dex. Everything alright? Everything’s fine, ms. — Ah, nina. I left a few things. I’m — I can’t let you go inside.

Yes, I miss being a lawyer very much. I miss standing up in front of a judge, in front of a jury and advocating for people’s rights. Having said that, I think that I’ve done a reasonably good job in turning the invader into something more positive. Are there any similarities? Hmm. That’s a very good question. Yes, actually, yes. In all legal cases, facts are important, right? So is the presentation equally important. I need to make sure that a judge and a jury think that the facts I’m presenting are interesting and important. So that’s the same when you’re dealing with stories in a newspaper — headlines have to be authentic, but we also have — have to grab the attention of the reader. Was that how you turned the paper around? Spencer told me that the invader used to be sort of a trash newspaper, but now it’s a well-regarded news source. That’s very nice to hear. And speaking of my favorite nephew, how is it cohabitating with him now that laura and kevin aren’t there to referee you? Thank you for ordering for me. You always know what I want. Well, you seem to like everything, so you make it easy. I have a question. Go for it, dad. Have you two discussed your future together? Dad! What? What? I-I didn’t pester brook lynn while we were waiting on you. I held off until you were both here. I’m going to run to the ladies’ room. If you’ll excuse me.Mm-hmm. Thank you for that, dad. What did I say that was so wrong? Life is short. You need to have a plan. We haven’t been a couple for very long. Okay, but have you talked about the future? I mean, how do you know you two want the same things? Have you discussed having kids? Where you want to live? If you’re going to get married? No. No. And definitely no. No, you don’t want to get married, or no, you haven’t talked about it? We haven’t talked about it because we’re not there yet. I don’t understand. Why are you in such a rush? Okay. Candidate number three. Pamela reed. She’s a single mom.

[ Knock on door ] Hello. Hi. I’m pamela. Please come in. Hi, pamela. I’m molly. Nice to meet you. Wow. We’ve read your file, but we’d like to hear in your own words. Why do you want to be a surrogate? Well, I’m a single mom. My son’s school age. So the pregnancy will be manageable. I work from home as a translator, so it’s not physically demanding. But to be perfectly honest, my son’s father is not in the picture, so the extra money would be a big help for us. What is your overall diet like? Honestly, it’s just based on what I can afford. But if you guys want me to eat healthier foods, I’d totally be down for that as long as you picked up the tab. I’m a doctor, so it’s important we know your medical history. Do you have any serious medical conditions that run in your family? Well, my grandpa died of prostate cancer. I remember his doctor told us that every man, if they live long enough, would eventually get it. He lived to be 87. Who is your current ob-gyn, and do you know which hospital they’re affiliated with? Oh, I just go to the free clinic to save money. But if you guys are picking up my hospital bills, I’ll go to any fancy general hospital doctor you want. Also, for how many months after I deliver will you continue picking up my doctor’s bills until my body goes back to normal? Like I’ve said before, avery is never going to be alone with betty. I know you’re nervous, and I get that. But you got to trust that I’m handling this. Nothing can happen to her, sonny. Nothing’s going to happen. I-I said that already. Okay. And what about nikolas’s body, you know, with his body still out there? I mean, who knows? Maybe their plan ends up with me in prison. Ava. Focus. Austin and mason are working for some mysterious boss. They’re probably the ones that have the body. So you want to get the body back? We have to figure out who we’re dealing with. What do you mean you can’t let me in? I practically live here. I totally understand that. And under normal circumstances, I would let you right in. But we can’T. Boss’s orders. Boss’s orders? Are you saying that sonny instructed you not to let me in? Not you specifically. We can’t let anyone in. Well, I’m not just anyone. I’m his fiancéE. And I’m sorry. This is unbelievable. It’s showtime. What do you think you’re doing?

Hi, dex. I was just looking for some art supplies for avery. But on second thought, maybe she’d be better off with a nap. You said I didn’t have to take a nap. Yeah. As you can see, I have my hands full. Maybe it would be better if we didn’t have any more interruptions. Oh, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to bother anyone. Bye, avery. Bye, dex.

[ Door closes ] Betty doesn’t want to be disturbed. You’re right. I-I’m sorry. No rush. As long as you’re happy. I am happier than I have been in my entire life. I can’t say how pleased I am to hear that. Hear what? Uh, chase was just telling me how happy he is. This guy is always happy. Has he always been that way? Nothing ever seems to get him down. You’re right. I was worried when laura told me that she and kevin were going to go search for nikolas. They were such a good buffer between me and spencer. But, you know, things are actually turning out better than I expected with him. That’s good. Yeah. I mean, we’re really finding our rhythm together. He loves ace and he sings to him and he never complains about changing a diaper. And he always finds a way to make ace laugh, which makes me laugh and… but of course, I can’t wait for laura and kevin to get back. They’ve been so good to me. But, you know, it is kind of funny how things work out. I mean, you only offered me this job as a favor to laura so that I would stay in town with ace, but… turns out I’m really enjoying this job. Alright, then. Just keep doing a good job and it’ll be a win for everyone. Thanks, pamela. We’ll let you know as soon as we decide. Nice meeting you. What do you think? I guess curtis didn’t tell you that I’m not only his wife, but I’m also a doctor. And I just want to help my husband as much as I can. Of course you do. But you have to remember that curtis’s life has taken a very unexpected turn, one he didn’t see coming. He has to figure this out for himself. I know. I know that. I just want to be there for my husband every step of the way. I know it’s going to take some time. Curtis is at the point in his recovery where accepting any help, including from his doctors, is going to be very difficult for him. A real struggle. You inserting yourself into his recovery could do more harm than good. You’re going to have to be very patient with curtis as he figures this out. You have to work on his timetable. Not yours. Sonny: What are you doing here? Well, the better question, sonny, is why wasn’t I allowed into our home? What’s going on at the penthouse?

May I join you? Please. Have a seat. Thanks. How was lunch? Ah. Fantastic. Brook lynn is very special, and she makes my son so happy. I think they’re starting to get serious. That’s nice to hear. What else is going on? Oh, so you saw that, me struggling with the check? I did. Fortunately for me, they were so wrapped up in each other, they didn’t seem to notice. I’m sorry, gregory. It’s getting worse, alexis. I think I’m running out of time. I think it’s safe to say we both liked pamela the least. Yeah. She seems so focused on the money. I get the feeling that no matter what contract we offered her, she’d keep finding reasons to come back for more. Agreed. We both like andrea and chelsea. Let’s go with andrea. I have a really good feeling about her and know that we have a backup in chelsea. Tj, this is really happening. It could be. It’s an important first step. Okay, curtis, so much of your strength is going to come from your arms, so let’s do a few reps using your arms to lift your body straight up. Alright? I can do that. I can do that. Alright. Let’s see. You got this. That’s it. Push. Push. Come on. There you go. Oh, that’s good. That’s good. Another one. Come on. You can do it. Push. Uh-huh. Come on. Everything’s fine. There’s nothing to worry about. I-I promise. Really? That’s true? What are you doing here? I’m here to talk to sonny about avery, that’s all. But I’ll go. I’ll let you two talk. No, no. Sonny, w hy wouldn’t the guardslet me into the penthouse? And why is ava acting so squirrelly? It’s best you don’t know. Sonny, we had a talk about this. Yes. Nina, I’m an open book, but there are some things that you should not know for your own safety. Now, I’m protecting my family. That’s all I can tell you. And I hope — I hope that’s enough. Well, I guess I don’t have a choice, do I? But I got to tell you this before I go. This just makes me feel like another one of your employees, sonny.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Can you believe it? We’re on our honeymoon and in Iceland. Although it’s, um, it’s not very icy. It’s actually quite green. Yeah, it’s incredible.

Okay, I’ve got two things planned for us today. First thing is we are going to go on a hike in the Eldron Lava Fields. And then after that… A soak in the hot springs. Uh, hopefully we don’t mix those two up. Yeah, that would be quite problematic, wouldn’t it? Um, right, so anyway, it’s um, now quite high tourist season, so we best get a move on.

The concierge has gotten us tickets, but I think it’s best to just get ahead of the crowds.

Dmitri? Why don’t you look? All that excited. Is something wrong?

You got me a plane ticket to Iceland? Keep scrolling. Your hotel reservation’s in there too. Oh, my darling. Is there something else that you’d prefer to do today?

Good morning, Nate. Oh, hey. Ah, so you’re binging more episodes of Body and Soul, huh? Fun studying up. This episode was… Interrupted by one of my press conferences when I was mayor. Oh, so you’re trying to ease back into the swing of things, huh? I’m not easing back in. I’m jumping into the deep end. Getting ready for my, my first press conference.

Back as mayor of Salem.

Oh, I know you’re worried about your bakery closing, Janelle, but your mama’s gonna set things right. Mama, I appreciate whatever it is that you’re planning, but I actually wasn’t thinking about that right now. Oh? Well, what’s on your mind? I saw Talia last night. And? She told me she has feelings for me.

Yeah, that’s great. Um, I’m actually in a bit of a rush this morning, so… Right, okay. Uh, talk soon then. Johnny! Hey. Talia. I’m really glad that I ran into you. Awesome. Well, I am actually in a bit of a rush this morning, so, uh… Oh, yeah. I heard you just say that on the phone. Um, but this won’t take long. I really need to talk to you.

About Chanel. What about Chanel?

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

Tell you what about Chanel.

I don’t think that we have to put a label on it, but I do think that if you have romantic feelings for Chanel, you need to acknowledge that. Be honest with yourself. I

have romantic feelings for Chanel. The last time, um, you saw me, you expressed your concern about me hurting Chanel. And I just want to let you know that I’m not going to do that.

And, uh, these feelings that Taya has for you… You’re sure they’re not the pretend kind that she had for you before? Mama, please, let’s not start this right now. You know, you can’t blame me for wondering. I mean, look at that girl. What did she put you through? I know what she put me through, Mama, but Talia says that her feelings are real this time.

And she said that even though her intentions before were to get close to me so that she could… Break my heart that she actually did start to feel something and that’s why she did what she did to stop calling from hurting us. Mama, you’re not saying anything. Well, now I’m very protective of you and okay, if I’m being honest.

I would rather see you involved with someone who hasn’t hurt you the way she has. I mean, look what she’s put you through, like I said. But, you know, you know what? Okay, now that I think about it, maybe I’m getting ahead of myself. What do you mean? Well, you said that Talia was interested in you romantically.

And, well, we started talking about it yesterday and, well… You never did really tell me how you feel about her.

And pause it. Well, uh, we finally got him situated at our place. I think he finally started to relax. I felt like I was really making some progress with him, but… But? But what? But that relaxation is over. He has decided to go back to being the mayor of Salem, and I tell you, I don’t think he’s ready.

So you called a press conference? Why isn’t the press banging down my door for a statement? Well, I didn’t call it. Deputy Mayor Clint Rawlins did, and I’m going to crash it. And announce his demotion and my triumphant return.

Sweetie, I don’t care what we do. As long as we do it together. I feel the same.

You know what? We don’t need to go to the lava fields. We could just stay here and see if we can make something else erupt. Well that is an enticing suggestion. But, uh, we are here.

In Iceland, we should probably go check out the sights, right? Enjoy all the wonderful things this beautiful city of Reykjavik has to offer. Yeah, okay. Yeah, I suppose. Mm hmm. So why don’t you head down and check in with the concierge? You can get those tickets, and I’ll put myself together and meet you in the lobby.

Okay, yeah. Fine. Plus, we do have tonight, don’t we? We could always give that bed a good workout. Indeed we do. Right, well I will see you in a bit I

guess Leo had another attack of conscience. I forgot your key, sweetie.

Look, I know that I’ve hurt her in the past. Pretty recent past, I tell ya. Yes, okay. Look, I just want her to be happy.

I can’t even believe I’m about to say this, but I think I might still have feelings for Chanel. What kind of feelings? I don’t know. Romantic feelings, maybe? Well, okay. That’s one thing we have in common. Johnny, I know you care about Chanel. Like, a lot. So this probably means me and you are probably never gonna be friends.

Seeing, you know, what I, um… Anyways… I just hope moving forward that we can at least be civil with one another. So, um, here. Take it. It’s a gesture toward future civility. And it’s just how you like it. You remember? Yeah, from when we used to come into the bakery. And it’s how I like it too.

Okay. To start. Thank you.

I’m not really sure how I feel about Talia. It’s complicated. Uh, I mean, it’s like I said before, like, I think that I can get past what she did to me and that she and I could be friends. Just friends? Well, when Talia told me how she felt. My heart, it did skip a beat, but, but my head is nowhere near ready to trust her again.

Well, you know, you just need to take the time, Chanel. That girl has put you through a lot, like I said. Though it’s completely understandable that you’re not willing to rush into anything. Thanks, Mama. I’m so glad we can talk like this. Oh, always, baby girl. And how about you? I know it was really hard for you, Abe moving out, at least for a while.

Oh, it was, and it still is. Oh, but I just have to wait. I just have to be patient. And I’m trying. Oh. I’m trying. I know, I know you are. Mama, and, and trust me, Ava’s gonna come around and, and when he does, when he, when he remembers who you are, I, I just wanna be there to see the look on his face. Well, that moment can’t come soon enough.

Look, I understand Abe wanted to get back to work, especially if it means that he can help Chanel with a bakery. But the job of mayor whew. That comes with a lot of pressure. Yeah. And on top of all that, uh, uh, there’s the press. Exactly. I mean, this whole story with Whitley King is huge. And the press have just been clamoring to get a glimpse of Abe.

And I just feel like if he jumps into the spotlight too soon, he’s gonna get burned.

I don’t remember The particulars of our friendship. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but I, I don’t believe it entails seeking your permission for every decision I’ve made in life. You’re not wrong, my friend. And Abe Carver always was his own man. And that’s obviously still the case. But buddy, Kayla and I have been talking about your intentions to go back to work.

And respectfully, we both think it’s a bit too soon. I mean, a week ago, you didn’t know your wife’s name. And let me tell you something, the press is not going to have the kindness or the patience to allow you to flip through those flashcards you’ve been studying before answering their questions.

I hate to say this, man,

but… What? Well, go ahead. Go ahead, say it. I think you’re going to crash and burn. They’ll rip you apart. And I bet they’ll have no qualms about cutting into today’s episode of body and soul to make sure everyone sees it.

Get in here before someone

sees you. I thought you I almost didn’t. You booked me on a connecting flight. You should know by now, Leo Stark only does non stops. Oh, my sincerest apologies. Now what the hell are you wearing? This is my snow jacket. It’s Iceland honey, though I haven’t seen a single cube of ice since my last gin and tonic on the plane the second plane It’s August.

Yo, I knew that. I also knew that it was speedo season You know, it’s hard for me to say what I missed most about you your idiosyncratic wit

It’s not hard for me to say what I miss most ah check that it is hard

Now, as much as I would love to continue our favorite subject, you really cannot stay. What? Why not? You don’t have to worry about our little Gwenny. I was lurking in the hall. I saw her take off. She looked like she was dressed to go climb Mount Everest. Mount Everest is in Nepal, and Gwen was just headed down to the lobby.

She really could be back any second now. You have to

Dimitri, are you just talking to someone

like. Could have sworn I heard voices in the hall.

Oh yeah, well, uh, I was on my phone. Uh, Ian Konu? Gesundheit. No, uh, Ian Konu is wife in Icelandic. I was playing it on the app. Wow, I am impressed. Thank you. While you were away, I was brushing up on my Icelandic. I want to be able to properly introduce you to the locals. Make sure that everyone knows that I am a happy newlywed.

And that you are taken. Gosh. That is just so very sweet of you, Dimitri. How do you say husband in Icelandic? If we run into any hot, young Icelanders, I want to tell them very emphatically that you are mine. Well, let’s see. Um, hmm. Uh, I can, um, uh, I can mail… God, that’s a mouthful, isn’t it? How about I just let you do all the Icelandic talking?

Okay. So, are you ready to go? Actually, I am so sorry, darling, but, um, I’m afraid I had some of that Icelandic… yogurt, and, well, I don’t know how to say this delicately, but, um, I’m Oh. Oh, dear. Is your tummy bothering you? Mm hmm. Oh, gosh. Well, yes, you are a bit flush, aren’t you? You weren’t this hot and warm when I left to go to the lobby, am I?

That’s what has come on quite suddenly. But I would hate for you to miss the lava fields. You’ve been waiting so long to see them. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. So you go. I’ll sit this one out and spend some time in bed, and hopefully I’ll feel a little better and join you for the hot springs later.

No way! No, I am your wife, your devoted wife, and I am going to nurse you back to health. I mean… For heaven’s sake, Dimitri, darling, we are on our honeymoon. And there’s nowhere else I would rather be

than with you and my husband.

Hi, Steve. Hey, Paulina. Ah, there he is. Ah. Ready to go, Abraham? Paulina. Hmm? Abe’s having second thoughts about this. Oh? Abraham, are you? I am not. Having second thoughts, please. Allow me to speak for myself. Remember what we talked about? Yes. I remember, but I didn’t change my mind. You’re not ready for the same.

Since when are you the arbiter of what I am or am not ready for? He’s a grown man, Steve. And I think that we need to respect that Abraham is capable of making his own decisions. And that that is the best way to help him start to become the man that he was. And the man that he will be again. Amen. Okay, so I’ll just help you into your chair and we can go.

Uh, no. As mayor, I need to be a man who stands on his own two feet.

Alright. Here we go. You alright? Oh,

well, now shall we go and kick Clint Rawlings to the curb? Yes, I’ll be right by your side. Good luck, buddy. Thank you.

I’m sorry we got interrupted the other day. Do you have, uh, time to… Finish our talk right now? I do. Come sit down. Okay. Fantastic.

I’m assuming… Did you want to talk about your feelings for Chanel? Have you had any chance to clarify those feelings? I have. Yeah. And I am now 100% sure that I have feelings for her, and I want her back in my life. As more than just a friend. I see. What I’m not. What I’m not sure about is what I should do about these feelings, you know, whether or not I should even act on them.

Is this a bad time? I was just about to go for a run. Clear my head. I mean, you can go do that. I can come back another time, it’s no big deal. No, no, no, it’s fine. Come in. I’m not in any rush.

So, uh, what’s going on?

It’s about what I said yesterday. Um, about me having feelings for you. I take it back.

And so, I knew I had feelings for Chanel. I just didn’t realize how deep they were until I heard she was thinking about becoming friends with Talia again. I see. I don’t know, it’s like, I just, I feel like I want to protect her. You know, and maybe that’s just me trying to play knight in Shining Armor, like in some black and white movie, trying to be the bogey to her B’Kal.

And maybe that’s just because I,

I don’t know, because I, I, lately I’ve been Chanel’s go to. You know, whenever she needs a shoulder to cry on. And that’s been nice. Makes me feel… Important. But more than that, you know,

When Chanel and I were married in Italy, That was real. And then it all just… Ended so abruptly and horribly. I know.

But Grandma, before it did, it was amazing. You know, the way that Chanel and I looked at each other at San Carlo, the Four Fountains, that was like we just, we, we, we walked right into a movie. You know, but it also felt real. More real than any moment I’ve ever had in my life.

Have you told Chanel about that?

No. No, I haven’t. Why not?

You take it back. So, you don’t have feelings for me?

Look, I, I shouldn’t have put you on the spot like that. It wasn’t fair. My feelings for you are, um, are my problem, not yours. And, um, I really don’t want to ruin any chance of us having a real friendship. So please, just forget that I said anything and act like I never said anything. Please.

Well, what if I don’t want to forget it?

Okay, my darling, what can I get you? Would you like some, um, crackers or, or club soda? Please, Gwen, I don’t want you to worry about me. Just go off and enjoy yourself, and then you can come back and nurse me right back to health. No, Demetri, I said I’m not going to leave your side. But I want you to. Honestly, it would only make it worse for you to be here, okay?

Hovering over me when I know you could be out there enjoying Iceland. I really want you to do that. I mean it Gwen, I mean it Gwen, please, please. It would, it would lift my spirits to know that at least one of us was out there taking advantage of being in this beautiful country. Are you

sure? Oh, I’m sure. But, uh, you should be alright here, all alone. Yes, of course I will. Like I said, I’ll be happy knowing that you are off having fun. Right, well, since you’ve, um… Obviously not giving me a choice. Then, um, I suppose I’ll just see you later then. Yes. Can’t wait. Yeah.

Have fun.

Bye bye.

God, I thought I was going to be stuck in there forever. So, how do you say, take me, you glacier of a man, and ravish me in this bed? Nice, Lampic. Hmm. I’m not sure there’s a good translation for that. So I guess I’ll just have to show you. Ahem.

Thank you all so much for coming. As you know, I’m Acting Mayor Clint Rawlings, and I’ve called you all here to announce my plans for the rest of my administration’s term. That won’t be necessary, Deputy Mayor Rawlings.

The man came to make a speech, and now he’s speechless. Abe Carver, ladies and gentlemen. It’s good to see you out of bed and back on your feet. I appreciate you showing up to support me, but shouldn’t you be resting, Abe? I know you’ve been through a lot and still have a long recovery ahead of you. I know you’d prefer for me to stay in bed.

But that’s over. And as we all are eager to hear what might be your agenda, I have an announcement to make. As of this moment, I am returning to my full duties as mayor of Salem. And my first official act will be to reopen my stepdaughter’s bakery.

I don’t know, I guess the reason I haven’t told Chanel how I feel yet is because I just, I, I, I… I don’t know if it’s the right time right now for that. And why is that? Grandma, she’s been through so much already. And now she’s dealing with the bakery being closed again. Not to mention I just made a pretty serious play for Wendy Shen.

And lost. I might not look very good if I just move on to someone else so quickly, you know? And then there’s my sister. I just went to New Zealand to visit her and things were great between us. But she and I were, you know, at each other’s throats for quite a while over Chanel. And even though she’s moved on and happy with someone else, I just, I don’t, I don’t know if I want to put Chanel between the two of us again.

Well, it sounds to me like you’re concerned about other people having feelings, having thoughts about it. It doesn’t matter. All that matters is how you feel about it, how you think about it. Like it’s, it’s always, always a risk to open up to somebody about your feelings, expose yourself and. Never being sure if they feel the same way about you.

But I can tell you, it is worth the risk.

And you are a courageous young man. I know you can handle whatever happens. Yeah,

you’re, you’re pretty good at this. Then give me a rave review. I will. Thank you. I’m gonna tell her how I feel. Yeah. Good. Let me know what happens. I will.

Like, you don’t have to say that, you know. Just to be nice. That’s not why I’m saying it.

So that means there’s a chance? Look, you caught me really off guard with all of this. But, I would be lying to you, and to myself, if I said that I didn’t feel something for you too. I mean when, when we kissed and we almost slept together, I really wanted to be with you.

I was just confused. Cause, you know, that’s what I want to do, you know, to just shout the whole world and be with you. Yeah, well, um, the whole world doesn’t really do a good job of staying.

Shut out. No. It doesn’t. Slum. What Your stepdaughter poisoned half this town. And that was not her doing, my baby girl, was a victim of a crime. And you, you abused the power of this town’s bureaucracy to carry out a personal vendetta. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. You weren’t wrong. But I don’t want to answer this out in public.

I only have one thing to say. Mr. Rawlings. I want your resignation on my desk by the end of this day. With all due respect, sir, it would be a dereliction of my duty to the citizens of Fair Salem. I cannot, in good conscience, let a man without the benefit of his full faculties take this office. I am more than capable of executing the duties of mayor of this town.

I’m sorry, Mr. Carver. But your judgment before your very painful and debilitating brain injury was questionable at best. Perhaps you don’t remember. So allow me to enlighten you. You appointed Commissioner Ray Fernandez, a man who admitted to having a sexually inappropriate relationship with one of his subordinates, an act which opened our city up to significant legal exposure.

You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Both of you.

Hi.

What’s wrong? I tried, sweetness. I did everything I could to keep Abe from making a big mistake. Mr. Rawlings, you’re telling me I should be ashamed of my daughter? Hmm. Paulina Price Carver has always put her own interests over the well being of the people of Salem. Dating back to her arrival in our fair city.

Upon which, she concocted a scheme to raise this very historic square we are all standing in. And now… In an effort to give favor to her daughter, she has turned a blind eye to said daughter’s negligence in creating a public health hazard and dragged her poor husband from his sickbed to advance her own agenda.

Ooh, you son of a How dare you.

I am not sick. I have fully recovered from my attack. Is that so? Then you won’t mind taking a few questions from the press. Mr. Carver, has your memory returned? Do you really think that you’re fit for office? How do you respond to the accusations about the attempts to reopen Sweet Bits Bakery?

I think that we just melted whatever ice was left in Iceland. Hell no! Now they’ll just have to call it land from now on. Or they could call it water land. You could be my Kevin Costner. Oh, this is perfect. Here we are. Together. On your honeymoon. With my best friend. Okay, I think I feel some of that ice coming back.

Damn it! Dimitri! On the way here, I kept telling myself, at the airport, on the plane, the second airport, the second plane, the third plane, the cab, the lobby, the hallway, on my way up here, I just kept saying, Leo, you cannot do this! You can’t do it to yourself! You can’t do it to Gwenny! I’m gonna open the door.

And there you are. And here we are. But I cannot go on like this. I can’t.

I checked. There is a flight, a direct flight, a cargo plane, so I will be in the cold, cold cargo hold with whatever it is they export from this place. Sugar cubes? I don’t know. So, it’s a good thing I have my parka.

What was that for? To shut you up. Well, it’s gonna take a lot more than that to shut me up.

I don’t know what happens next, but whatever it is, we need to take it slow. Yeah, no, I totally agree.

I should go.

Um, maybe we should hang out sometime.

There’s a free concert at the park tonight. Japanese takeout jobs. Yeah, it’d be kinda cool. Yeah. You wanna go? Um, I’d love to. So I guess this is a date? Yes. It’s a date. Neither are…

ferments? Perfect.

Mayor Carver, can you tell us who you plan to appoint as your new deputy if Clint Rollins honors your request to resign? Well, uh, I, I, I’m not sure as of yet. Can you give some names of candidates? Well, I, I, I’m afraid that I, I’m afraid he doesn’t know the name of any of the people who work in his administration.

Is that true? Can you tell us if you plan to uphold the temporary appointment of Sean Brady as police commissioner or are there other candidates from inside the department you might consider? Well, I, I, I’ll have to get back to you on that once I’ve had a chance to review. Has there been any improvement at all in your long term memory?

I am perfectly, mentally, and physically capable of performing this job as mayor of this town. Um, Mr. Carver, uh, can you name all the members of the city council? Or any of the members of the city council? Not one? Anybody, Mr. Carver? Um, how about the aldermen or other commissioners? How about your own daughter?

I hope Abe isn’t being barraged by questions right now. I don’t know how he can handle it. Well, you know what, maybe he changed his mind and he backed out. Hey. Hey. Hi. Abe went through with it. Yeah. Yeah. I was just, uh, checking on social media. Well, what did they say? Mayor Abe Carver made his first public appearance today, and his return to the spotlight is turning out to be something he wishes he could forget.

What’s your hurry? Granted, your heart’s set on these lava fields, the biggest in the world. She’ll be gone for hours. And then you can hide in your room and she’ll never know. Dimitri, don’t make this any harder, okay? Well, at least kiss me goodbye.

If I kiss you again, I’m not going to leave. Okay, fine, fine. At least tell me I’ll see you later.

Fine. You’ll see me later.

Ridge: You know what I love even more than your company?

Eric: What’s that?

Ridge: Your wine. Nice, expensive, very good.

Eric: Yeah. It is, it is.

Ridge: Cheers.

Eric: I’m glad we have some left.

Steffy: Granddad, please tell donna she didn’t have to go through all that trouble getting the kids all the toys and clothes. Oh, my gosh. She has great taste though.

Eric: She does.

Steffy: They’re going through the pile right now, they’re in heaven.

Eric: She loves this. I mean, she loves having you here with the kids. She loves it as much as I do.

Steffy: Well, I’m really grateful to both of you for opening up your home to me and the children.

Eric: No, it’s your home. It’s your home, too. For as long as you need.

Ridge: Thank you, dad. Their safety is the most important thing right now.

Eric: I agree. It’s– it’s so alarming that sheila’s a free woman again. I can’t believe it. We’ve increased the security around forrester and we doubled it around the house here, so.

Steffy: Okay.

Eric: I just can’t believe that you– you don’t feel safe in your own home, safe and secure. With finn.

Finn: Either panel come back yet? He’s still tachy? Okay, um…

[ Knocking on door ] …Just order another ct scan to be safe. Okay. Thank you. Hey.

Rj: Hey.

Finn: Thanks for, uh, thanks for coming.

Rj: Yeah. Yeah, no problem. I’m still trying to just understand everything that’s going on, you know?

Finn: Yeah. I’ll just say, I should never have taken my eyes off kelly.

Rj: Can’t imagine. Hey, but thank god she’s okay.

Finn: Yeah.

Rj: Yeah.

Finn: Yeah, I agree.

Rj: So, um, what’s up? Why do you– why did you want to see me?

Finn: I need your help with steffy.

Wyatt: And there it is! The contract dad agreed upon, after months of negotiation, it is finally done. And I gotta say, that’s gotta be one of our better deals this year.

Liam: Yeah, no, it’s good. It’s, like– it’s really good. I mean, no wonder dad was so happy on the phone.

[ Chuckling ]

Wyatt: Yeah, money has that effect on him. Um… [ Clears throat ] You know what else made him happy?

Liam: What?

Wyatt: Is you finally opening up to him.

[ Laughing ]

Liam: Yeah, well, you know, he hasn’t missed much, just hope and me getting divorced and his granddaughter almost drowning and–

Wyatt: Yeah, steffy, uh, separating from finn, right?

Rj: You need my help with steffy?

Finn: I just… I’ve been so lost since she moved out with the kids and… I mean, there’s no stopping her.

Rj: I’m sorry, finn.

Finn: Yeah, but you know, your sister, when she makes up her mind, she makes up her mind, but this is all just… it’s just starting to settle in now, you know? My family’s separated and I miss them more than anything. And look, I take responsibility for the things that happened with sheila, but the thing is, steffy never would have moved out if it weren’t for liam.

Liam: I mean, am I– am I allowed to say I’m proud of steffy? Just for– you know, just for– for, you know, taking kelly and hayes and heading over to eric’s ’cause I know that couldn’t have been easy, but it was the right thing.

Wyatt: Yeah. Yeah, for their safety.

Liam: For their safety, exactly.

Wyatt: And, I mean, it could possibly give you another shot at steffy in the future.

Steffy: I hate taking kelly and hayes out of their home, away from finn.

Eric: You had no choice.

Ridge: No. We have to do what’s best for our kids, always.

Steffy: You’re right.

Taylor: Steffy? Ridge. Eric. Hi. Hi, baby.

Steffy: Mom.

Eric: Hi.

Steffy: You– you came home?

Taylor: Yes. What, you think a conference is more important than you? Not a chance. Oh, honey, I am– I am so sorry to hear about everything that happened.

I have type 2 diabetes,

but I manage it well.

Rj: Yeah, yeah. You– you mentioned this before that you think liam’s the reason why steffy left. I don’t understand why though.

Finn: Do you know about the hearing yet?

Rj: Well, yeah. I know that sheila got let off.

Finn: No, about what happened after.

Rj: No, what?

Finn: After the hearing, once sheila was released, we embraced.

Rj: You what? Finn, why would you do that?

Finn: Look, I– I don’t know. It– sheila saw me and hugged me and something came over me and this connection with my birth mother.

[ Scoffs ]

Rj: Okay, uh, well, what did steffy say when you told her you did that?

Finn: See, that’s when liam comes in. Because I didn’t get a chance to tell her, he beat me to it.

Rj: He– I don’t understand, how did he–

Finn: Apparently, he followed me outside the judge’s chambers and decided to record me hugging sheila.

Rj: No.

Finn: Yeah. And liam couldn’t wait to run to steffy to show it to her.

Wyatt: Look, I’m not trying to give you a hard time here, bro.

Liam: Look, this is– this is you not trying to give me a hard time, that’s what this is?

Wyatt: Come on, you know me better than that. I would never…

Liam: Yes, you would.

Wyatt: …Ever…

Liam: Yes, you would.

Wyatt: Yes, I would. Yeah. No, I’m just trying to get you to– to be honest with yourself, man. Like, you even said yourself, leaving steffy was one of the biggest mistakes of your life, right?

Liam: Yeah, I mean, it was.

Wyatt: There you go. And I’m proud of you for being able to admit that. But you could possibly rectify that mistake now that steffy’s away from finn and currently living at eric’S.

[ All laughing ]

Steffy: I can’t wait to try them! Kelly and hayes are baking muffins with donna in the kitchen. Mom, I really appreciate you being here. You didn’t have to come back so soon. I already kind of filled you in on everything when we talked.

Taylor: Okay, well, I wanted to come back. I’m your mom. You’re hurting right now, you need support, and I’m here.

Steffy: Thank you.

Taylor: Mm-hmm.

Steffy: I just want to make sure I’m being smart for the children. Making the right decisions.

Taylor: I know, honey, it’s a lot, this is all a lot. This is all a– a big shock, really, you know? You living here with eric.

Ridge: Well, they’re where they need to be.

Eric: I absolutely agree with that.

Ridge: You made the right choice coming here.

Taylor: And– and you don’t think that you should, you know, maybe get back home and try to work things out with finn? Host says the key is under the bizanguita cactus.

Rj: You’re treating this like it’s nothing. This isn’t nothing. You embraced sheila, you were sympathizing with her.

Finn: Hold on, we hugged, okay? I wasn’t sympathizing with her. Liam surreptitiously took that video on his phone and did he confront me about it? No, he immediately ran to steffy claiming he was looking out for the kids and herself.

Rj: Well, maybe that’s it, maybe he was just being protective.

Finn: Protective? Rj, my kids don’t need to be protected from me! I would never let anything happen to them, I love them more than my own life.

Rj: I realize that, okay? I’m just saying, do you really think right now liam is trying to sabotage your marriage?

Finn: I don’t think that, I know that. And I’m not going to let that little twerp get away with it.

Wyatt: Uh, for the record, I’m– I’m not telling you to bulldoze steffy’s marriage here, right? I’m not– I’m not– that’s not what I’m saying.

Liam: I know. I know that. I know that’s not what you’re saying.

Wyatt: Okay, good because i don’t want to be blamed for this whole rivalry that’s about to happen between you and finn.

Liam: Trust me, if it does happen, it ain’t going to be on you.

[ Laughs ]

Wyatt: No, I’m just– you know, looking at the situation, this– this– like, this– this whole thing is kind of aligning pretty perfectly for you, especially if you’re looking at another chance with steffy.

Liam: Yeah, only because finn’s being an idiot and not protecting his family.

Wyatt: Yeah, but come on, dude, you got to admit here, like, I think you’re still in love with steffy and you want a life with her again.

Ridge: Well, even dad didn’t want to hear this conversation.

Taylor: No.

Ridge: You chased him away.

Taylor: Oh, stop it, I did not, he’s just– he’s just giving us some privacy.

Ridge: Privacy for what? This is a conversation I would have with anybody. The kids are where they need to be.

Taylor: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, I’m just saying that I don’t know that steffy’s making the best choice packing up the kids and leaving her husband.

Ridge: Well, and I’m just saying that finn has a lot of things he needs to work through before she goes back there. You saw the security outside the house, right? It’s good, it’s safe here. They don’t have that at the cliff house. You know what they have at the cliff house? The possibility of crazy sheila popping out. It’s dangerous.

Taylor: No, I understand that. I– I do, but finn’s not gonna let anything happen to steffy and the kids.

Ridge: He already has! He hugged that crazy woman outside the courtroom. The cliff house is not an option.

Taylor: You know, I am– I am just advocating for our daughter’s marriage, okay? Finn messed up bad. I know that. But you know, steffy– steffy has a wonderful, devoted husband who loves her and only her… for better or worse. Postmenopausal women with hr+ her2-

Taylor: I’m telling you right now, I don’t think it’s a good idea for the kids to be away from– no!

Finn: Steffy, please don’t–

please don’t walk

out that door, okay?

I’m sorry for what happened

at the beach today with kelly.

You know how much I love you,

you know how much

I love our family.

Steffy: Of course I do,

but this is killing me.

I– I can’t live like this,

I can’t trust that you’ll keep

sheila away from us.

Finn: Nothing is more

important to me

than you and our children.

I love you.

You have to believe that.

Please, steffy.

Don’t take the kids, okay?

Don’t– don’T.

I’m begging you,

please don’t walk out the door.

Ridge: What if I beef up security here? It’s not what we’re talking about–

Taylor: Ridge, you know– you know that– that steffy and our grandkids are my first priority.

Ridge: Sure, but you have a funny way of showing that.

Taylor: Okay, come on. That is not nice.

Ridge: You know what’s not nice?

Taylor: What?

Ridge: Sending steffy and the kids back to the cliff house when you know that sheila’s sniffing around.

Taylor: Wait a second. Finn said that he would not speak to sheila ever again.

Ridge: Finn said that?

Taylor: Oh, don’t do this right now. You know what? This is something that steffy and finn need to work through. It’s very simple.

Ridge: There’s nothing simple when that woman is involved.

Steffy: Can you please not argue over me please?

Both: We’re not arguing.

Ridge: Just trying to explain to your mom, your beautiful mother, why she’s wrong. No, and that’s– I’m sorry.

Taylor: Mm-hmm.

Ridge: Trying to explain to you why I’m right. Better. Listen. The last thing I want is for your marriage to fall apart. I know you love him, I know he loves you, but you gotta keep an open mind because what are you gonna do for the next I don’t know how many years? Just keep looking over your shoulder to see if sheila’s going to pop into your house or whatever? You can’T. She could be there at any moment.

Finn: Look, just the– the fact that liam would secretly record me hugging sheila and then run to steffy acting like he’s just some big hero?

Rj: Maybe he’s just worried, all right? Kelly’s his daughter, he’s got a right to be protective, finn.

Finn: He told me he loves her, rj, and that they share this incredible history.

Rj: Seriously?

Finn: Seriously. I’m not making this up. Okay, liam’s after my wife and he’s using this sheila situation to his advantage.

Rj: Well, I mean, steffy’s already freaked out that sheila’s freed though.

Finn: Look, rj, before I met your sister… uh, my life was– was– was pretty great. I had finished med school, I had gotten my dream job, I was helping people, I– I had accomplished pretty much everything I’d wanted to. Okay? And then one day… this incredible, beautiful, intelligent woman came into my hospital and I knew in a second that my life had just begun. Steffy’s it for me and I would do anything to keep her happy and to make sure she felt loves and to keep her safe. And that’s why it just… it just breaks my heart that she doesn’t feel safe here because of sheila. And I– I promised that I wouldn’t have anything to do with her and… I just– I screwed up, man, and I broke her trust and I’ve apologized and I’ve begged her to come home because it’s the only way to prove to her that I can protect my family. But she says that she can’t do that and I know that sheila is a– is a big reason for that, but I’m telling you, it’s liam, too.

Liam: I mean, you– you– you– you’re– you’re right.

Wyatt: I’m sorry, what?

Liam: You’re–

Wyatt: What’d you just say?

Liam: You’re right.

Wyatt: Did you just say I was right?

Liam: Mm. I didn’t say–

Wyatt: Did you just say I was right?

Liam: Yes, you’re right, you’re– [ Groans ]

Wyatt: It sounds so good.

Liam: Yes, you’re right, I’m still very much in love with steffy and I always will be and I told her as much.

Wyatt: Yeah.

Liam: Not only did I tell her, I made little to no effort to hide it from finn either. Yes, I kissed steffy. Yes, I– I meant it. But I should not have done that. I mean, I– I was caught up, man, a lot of big, confusing feelings and the last thing that I want to do is interfere in somebody else’s marriage, much less steffy’S.

Wyatt: I know, but liam, that’s– you just said it. There were really intense emotions going on there, especially after what happened with hope, but remember, that all happened before finn and kelly went to the beach, that all happened before he decided to hug it out with that psycho.

Liam: Yeah, that’s true. The situation has definitely changed recently.

Wyatt: Exactly.

Liam: So, look, steffy’s, you know, she’s moved out, she’s over at eric’s, she’s doing her absolute best to hold it together just for the kids’ sake, which proves how incredible she is. Why did I– why did I ever let her slip through my fingers? My god, just… she can’t stay with finn. The way that he’s acting lately, I mean, he’s– he’s become a danger to steffy and the kids.

Finn: Look, steffy and i have overcome so much together and it’s only made us stronger. I almost lost your sister once and I’m not gonna go through that again. There’s no way I’m letting liam make a play for my wife.

Liam: Here’s what I do know.

Wyatt: Hm?

Liam: I’ve only got one life to live and I want to live it with steffy and my daughter.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Gwen and Dimitri are on their honeymoon in Iceland. Gwen talks about how incredible it is while Dimitri looks less enthused as he texts Leo, asking where he is and why he’s not answering his texts. Gwen tells Dimitri that she has two things planned for them today, a hike and then a soak in the hot springs. Gwen suggests they get moving since it’s high tourist season so they can get ahead of the crowds. Gwen questions why he doesn’t look that excited and asks if something is wrong. Dimitri thinks back to being with Leo. Gwen asks if there’s something else he would prefer to do today.

Abe watches Body & Soul as Steve walks in. Abe explains that he’s studying because this episode was interrupted by one of his press conferences as mayor. Steve asks if he’s easing himself back in but Abe reveals he’s jumping in to the deep end as he’s preparing for his first press conference back as Mayor of Salem.

Chanel sits at home with a coffee as Paulina walks in and says she knows she’s worried about the Bakery closing, but she’s going to set things right. Chanel appreciates whatever she’s planning but says she actually wasn’t thinking about that right now. Paulina asks what’s on her mind then. Chanel responds that she saw Talia last night and she told her that she has feelings for her.

Talia exits the Brady Pub and runs in to Johnny, who is finishing a phone call. Talia says she’s really glad she ran in to him. Johnny says he’s in a bit of a rush but Talia assures it won’t take long and that she really needs to talk to him about Chanel. Johnny asks what about Chanel. Talia thinks back to her therapy with Marlena, encouraging her to acknowledge her romantic feelings for Chanel. Talia then tells Johnny that the last time he saw her, he expressed her concern about her hurting Chanel and she just wanted to let him know that she’s not going to do that.

Paulina questions if Chanel is sure Talia’s feelings aren’t the pretend kind she had before. Chanel doesn’t want to start this but Paulina brings up what Talia put her through. Chanel notes that Talia says her feelings are real this time, even though she intended before to break her heart but she actually started to feel something and that’s why she stopped Colin from hurting them. Paulina says she’s very protective of her and admits she would rather see Chanel with someone who hasn’t hurt her like Talia has. Paulina then decides maybe she’s getting ahead of herself. Paulina brings up that when they started talking about it, Chanel never said how she feels about Talia.

At the hospital, Kayla meets with Marlena, who asks how Abe is. Kayla says they finally got him situated at their place and he had begun to relax but that’s over as he decided to go back to being the Mayor of Salem and she doesn’t think he’s ready.

Steve questions Abe calling a press conference and why the press isn’t banging down the door for a statement. Abe reveals that acting Mayor Rawlings called the press conference, so he’s going to crash it and announce his triumphant return.

Dimitri tells Gwen that he doesn’t care what they do as long as they do it together. Gwen says she feels the same and decides they could just stay in. Dimitri calls that enticing but decides they should check out the sights while they are in Iceland. Dimitri tells Gwen to go check in and get their tickets, then he will meet her in the lobby. Gwen jokes about giving the bed a workout tonight as she kisses him. Gwen says she will see him in a bit then and exits. Dimitri then checks his phone and guesses Leo had another attack of conscience. Leo then shows up at the door.

Talia tells Johnny that she knows she’s hurt Chanel in the past but she just wants her to be happy. Johnny thinks back to telling Marlena that he might still have romantic feelings for Chanel. Johnny then tells Talia that’s one thing they have in common. Talia knows he cares about Chanel a lot, so this probably means they will never be friends but she hopes moving forward, they can at least be civil with one another. Talia offers him a coffee as a peace offering. Johnny is surprised she remembered how he likes his coffee. Talia recalls him coming in to the Bakery and says it’s how she likes it too. Johnny calls it a start and thanks her as Talia then walks away.

Chanel tells Paulina that she’s not really sure how she feels about Talia as it’s complicated. Chanel thinks she can get past what Talia did to her and they could be friends. Paulina questions if it’s just friends. Chanel says when Talia told her how she felt, her heart did skip a beat, but her head is nowhere near ready to trust her again. Paulina encourages Chanel to take her time since Talia has put her through a lot, so it’s completely understandable that she’s not willing to rush in to anything. Chanel thanks her and says she’s glad they can talk like this. Chanel asks about Paulina with Abe moving out. Paulina says it’s still hard but she just has to wait and be patient which she’s trying to do. Chanel encourages that Abe will come around and remember who she is. Paulina says that moment can’t come soon enough.

Marlena understands Abe wanting to get back to work, especially if he can help Chanel with the Bakery, but worries that the job of Mayor come with a lot of pressure. Kayla adds that there’s the press on top of that and the story with Whitley King is huge, so the press have been clamoring for a glimpse of Abe. Kayla worries that if Abe jumps in to the spotlight too soon, he will get burned.

Abe tells Steve that he doesn’t remember the particulars of their friendship, but he doesn’t believe it entails seeking his permission for every decision he makes in life. Steve admits he’s not wrong and that Abe always was his own man which is still the case. Steve states that he and Kayla have been talking about Abe’s intentions of going back to work and they both think it’s too soon. Steve brings up that a week ago, Abe didn’t remember his wife’s name and the press won’t have patience in waiting for him to answer their questions. Steve says he hates to say this, but he thinks Abe is going to crash and burn and the press will rip him apart. Steve adds that they’ll cut in to today’s episode of Body and Soul to make sure everyone sees it.

Dimitri brings Leo inside and kisses him, expressing how glad he is that he came. Leo complains about the flight while Dimitri questions Leo wearing his snow outfit when it’s August. They kiss until Dimitri tells Leo that he’d love to continue but Leo can’t stay. Leo talks about seeing Gwen head out. Dimitri worries that she could be back any second. They then hear Gwen’s key card, so Dimitri sends Leo to hide. Gwen then walks in and questions if Dimitri was talking to someone as she could’ve sworn she heard voices. Dimitri claims he was on his phone with an app to learn Icelandic. Gwen calls it very sweet of him. Leo listens in as he hides in the bathroom. Gwen asks Dimitri if he’s ready to go. Dimitri then claims that he’s having some issues after eating yogurt. Gwen feels that he is warm. Dimitri says he’d hate for Gwen to miss out on a once in a lifetime opportunity, so he says she can go and he’ll spend time in bed to get better, then he’ll join her at the Hot Springs later but Gwen says no way. Gwen says she is his devoted wife, so she will nurse him back to health. Gwen reminds him that they are on their honeymoon, so there’s nowhere else she’d rather be than with her husband as Leo remains listening in.

Paulina goes to Steve’s to see Abe and asks if he’s ready to go. Steve informs Paulina that Abe is having second thoughts about this. Abe denies that and says he can speak for himself. Steve reminds Abe of what they talked about. Abe says it didn’t change his mind. Steve insists that Abe is not ready for this. Abe questions Steve deciding that. Paulina argues that Abe is a grown man, so they need to respect that Abe can make his own decisions which will help him start to be the man he was. Paulina says she will help Abe in to his wheelchair and then they can go but Abe declares that as Mayor, he needs to stand on his own two feet. Abe then stands up and suggests they go kick Mayor Rawlings to the curb. Paulina says she’ll be right by his side. Steve wishes Abe luck. Abe and Paulina then exit together.

Johnny goes to see Marlena and asks if she has time to finish their talk since they got interrupted. Marlena says she does and tells him to sit down. Marlena assumes he wants to talk about his feelings for Chanel and asks if he’s had a chance to clarify those feelings. Johnny confirms he’s 100% sure that he has feelings for Chanel and that he wants her back in his life as more than just a friend, but he’s not sure whether or not he should act on these feelings.

Chanel looks at a photo of Abe and Paulina at home. Chanel then goes to leave right as Talia shows up at the door. Talia asks if it’s a bad time. Chanel says she was just about to go for a run to clear her head. Talia offers to come back another time but Chanel says she’s in no rush and invites her in. Chanel asks her what’s going on. Talia says it’s about what she said yesterday about having feelings for her. Talia decides she’s taking it back.

Johnny tells Marlena that he knew he had feelings for Chanel, but he didn’t realize how deep they were until he heard she was considering becoming friends with Talia again. Johnny feels like he wants to protect Chanel and maybe that’s just him wanting to play knight in shining armor. Johnny talks about being Chanel’s go-to when she needs a shoulder to cry on and says that’s been nice and makes him feel important. Johnny brings up when he and Chanel were married in Italy. Johnny says that was real and then it all just ended so abruptly and horribly, but before that it was amazing. Johnny declares that it felt more real than any moment he’s ever had in his life. Marlena asks if he’s told Chanel about that. Johnny admits he hasn’t, so Marlena asks why not.

Chanel questions Talia taking back what she said and asks if she doesn’t have feelings for her then. Talia says she shouldn’t have put her on the spot like that as it wasn’t fair. Talia adds that her feelings for Chanel are her problem, not Chanel’s, and she doesn’t want to ruin their chance at a real friendship. Talia asks Chanel to forget she ever said anything. Chanel asks what if she doesn’t want to forget it.

Leo continues listening in as Gwen asks what she can get Dimitri. Dimitri doesn’t want her to worry about him and urges her to go off and enjoy herself. Gwen refuses to leave his side but Dimitri wants her to and says it will only make him feel worse if she’s not out there enjoying Iceland. Dimitri claims it will lift his spirits to know at least one of them was enjoying the beautiful country. Gwen asks if he’s sure and worries about him being alone. Dimitri repeats that he’ll be happy knowing she’s having fun. Gwen decides he’s not giving her a choice, so she supposes she will just seem later then. Dimitri tells her to have fun as Gwen then exits. Leo comes out and jokes that he thought he’d be stuck in there forever. Leo then tells Dimitri to take him in bed.

Mayor Clint Rawlings begins his press conference in the town square. He says he has called them here to announce plans for the rest of his term, but Abe interrupts and declares that won’t be necessary. Paulina jokes that Rawlings came to make a speech, but now he’s speechless. Rawlings remarks that it’s good to see Abe back on his feet and he appreciates him showing up to support him, but thinks he should still be resting and has a long recovery ahead of him. Abe knows he’d prefer that he stay in bed but declares that’s over. Abe adds that they are all eager to hear what might be Rawlings’ agenda, he has an announcement to make. Abe then announces that as of this moment, he is returning to his full duties as Mayor of Salem, and his first official act will be to reopen his stepdaughter’s Bakery.

Johnny guesses he hasn’t told Chanel how he feels yet is because he doesn’t know if it’s the right time. Marlena asks why that is. Johnny brings up that Chanel has been through so much already and is now dealing with the Bakery being closed again. Johnny adds that he just made a serious play for Wendy Shin and lost, so it might not look good to move on so quickly. Johnny brings up that he just went to New Zealand to visit Allie and things were great between them, but they were at each others’ throats for quite awhile over Chanel. Johnny states that even though Allie has moved on and is happy with someone else, he doesn’t know if he wants to put Chanel between them again. Marlena feels he is concerned about other people having feelings or thoughts but all that matters is how Johnny feels and thinks about it. Marlena adds that it’s always a risk to open up to somebody about your feelings and not being sure they feel the same way, but assures that it’s worth the risk. Marlena calls Johnny a courageous young man so she knows he can handle whatever happens. Johnny thanks her and jokes that she’s pretty good at this. Johnny decides that he’s going to tell Chanel how he feels. Marlena tells him to let her know what happens. Johnny agrees to do so as he then exits the office.

Talia tells Chanel that she doesn’t have to say that to be nice. Chanel says that’s not why she’s saying it. Talia asks if that means there’s a chance. Chanel admits Talia caught her really off guard with all this, but she’d be lying if she said she didn’t feel something for her too. Chanel brings up when they kissed and almost slept together. Chanel admits she really wanted to be with her. Talia says she was just confused but that’s what she wanted too. Talia asks what they do now.

Mayor Rawlings argues that he was morally justified and had every legal right to close the Bakery because Chanel poisoned half the town. Paulina shouts that it was not her doing and that Chanel was a victim of a crime and that Rawlings used his power to carry out a personal vendetta. Abe says Paulina isn’t wrong but he doesn’t want to hash this out in public. Abe informs Rawlings that he wants his resignation on his desk by the end of the day. Rawlings responds that he cannot in good conscience let a man without his full faculties take office. Abe argues that he’s more than capable of executing his duties as Mayor. Rawlings argues that Abe’s judgment before his injury was questionable at best and perhaps he doesn’t remember. Rawlings reminds Abe that he appointed Rafe, who admitted to having a sexual relationship with a subordinate. Rawlings remarks that they should both be ashamed of themselves.

Kayla goes home to Steve and asks him what’s wrong. Steve responds that he did everything he could to keep Abe from making a big mistake.

Paulina questions Mayor Rawlings saying she should be ashamed of herself. Rawlings remarks that Paulina has always put her own interests over the people of Salem and brings up when she first came to town with a scheme to destroy the town square and claims that she is now turning a blind eye to Chanel’s negligence and is dragging her sick husband out of bed. Abe confronts Rawlings and declares that he is not sick and has fully recovered. Rawlings remarks that Abe won’t mind taking some questions from the press then. Members of the press begin asking if Abe got his memory back, if he thinks he’s fit for office, and how he responds to the accusations about attempts to open the Bakery.

Dimitri and Leo lay in bed after having sex. Dimitri calls this perfect while Leo points out that he’s on his honeymoon with his best friend. Leo says on the way, he kept telling himself that he cannot do this to himself or to Gwen. Leo insists that he cannot go on like this. Leo mentions that there’s a direct flight back to Salem. Dimitri kisses him and says that was to shut him up. Leo jokes that it will take a lot more than that to shut him up as they continue kissing.

Chanel tells Talia that she doesn’t know what happens next but they need to take it slow. Talia agrees and decides she should go. Talia suggests they should hang out some time. Chanel mentions a free concert at the park tonight and invites Talia. Talia say she would love to. Johnny arrives outside the door right as he hears Chanel and Talia agreeing that it’s a date. Johnny then walks away disappointed.

The press asks Abe who he intends to name as deputy mayor if Rawlings resigns. Abe responds that he’s not sure yet. The press asks for names of candidates. Rawlings remarks that Abe doesn’t know the name of any of the people who work in his administration. Another member of the press asks about Shawn as police commissioner. Abe says he’ll get back to him on that. Another member asks if there’s been any improvement on his long term memory. Abe insists that he’s perfectly capable of being Mayor. A member of the press asks if Abe can name any of the members of the city council or even his own daughter, but Abe remains silent.

Steve hopes Abe isn’t being barraged by questions as he doesn’t know how he can handle it. Marlena arrives. Kayla tells her that Abe went through with it. Marlena responds that she was just checking on social media. Kayla asks what they said. Marlena reads an article that Abe’s return to the spotlight has turned out to be something he wishes he could forget.

Dimitri questions Leo’s hurry to leave when Gwen will be gone for hours and then he can hide in his own room and she’ll never know. Leo tells Dimitri not to make this any harder. Dimitri tells Leo to at least kiss him goodbye. Leo responds that if he kisses him again, he’s not going to leave. Dimitri asks if he will at least see him later which Leo agrees to. Leo then opens the door to leave right as Gwen returns, shocked to see him.

Audra: Hello, tucker.

Tucker: Hello.

Audra: Devon.

Devon: Hey, audra.

Audra: Hey.

Devon: That is abby. Excuse me for a second.

Tucker: Sure. Hi.

Audra: Hi. I understand you’re getting married today. Congratulations.

Tucker: Thank you very much. I’m hoping you stopped by to give me that special wedding gift we talked about.

Audra: The shipment is delayed, but, um, it’s on its way.

Tucker: That’s not what I wanted to hear.

Audra: It’s just a delay, tucker, okay? The gift will arrive.

Tucker: When?

Audra: I’m working on it.

Tucker: Okay. Time is not my friend at this point.

Audra: I won’t let you down.

Tucker: Good. Because I’m not gonna let anything or anyone spoil this day.

Audra: Oh. Okay. Good luck.

Tucker: All right.

[ Tucker scoffing ]

[ Tucker sighing ]

Audra: Hey. I thought you took the afternoon off to go to your aunt’s wedding.

Kyle: I did. Then, I remembered I never really liked the circus. And I really don’t like the idea of my aunt marrying tucker mccall, so.

Audra: So, here you are.

Kyle: Here I am.

Audra: Hm. Mind if I join you?

Kyle: I was hoping you would. See? I feel better already.

[ Audra chuckling ] Mm. Something wrong?

Diane: Mm. Still surprised you agreed to go to ashley and tucker’s wedding.

Jack: It’s all a part of the game, right?

Diane: Yeah, I know, but it seems risky. You and ashley haven’t exactly made peace.

Jack: Well, that’s all the more reason to string things along. We don’t know what ashley and tucker are going to do with this new company of theirs and how it’s going to affect jabot. What?

Diane: Ah, nothing, it’s probably just wishful thinking.

Jack: No, no, no, wait, wait, wait, I wanna hear.

Diane: Well, what if ashley is sincere about letting you buy her out and walking away from jabot?

Jack: Not a chance.

Diane: No, but it’s possible, isn’t it? I mean, I could understand ashley wanting to just turn down the noise and walk away. I know. I’ve been there.

Jack: I could entertain that thought if tucker was no part of this picture. He has poisoned her against me, against the family. Believe me, the idea of my sister exchanging vows with that bastard makes me sick to my stomach, but we have to keep our guard up. We have to pretend everything is fine.

Traci: Let’s see.

[ Traci grunting ]

Abby: Aunt traci, you have moved those flowers three times already.

[ Both chuckling ]

Traci: Well, they’re just not exactly right yet.

Abby: I think they look perfect just where they are.

Traci: You sure?

Abby: Yes. This place looks beautiful, all because of your help.

[ Traci chuckling ]

Traci: Well, it was my pleasure. And you know how I love a good wedding.

[ Both chuckling ] Honey, of all the love stories that I’ve written or read or been a part of, the one thing they all have in common is hope. That this will be the moment we’ll start a beautiful new life, so it has to be perfect.

Abby: Well, I wish I shared your optimism about this particular love story, if it even is one.

Traci: I know you have your doubts. Oh, it’s ashley! Ashley! Hi! I’m so glad I get to see you. Hi! Before I have to go home and change clothes.

Ashley: Yeah.

Traci: So, are you ready for your big day?

Ashley: Yeah.

Traci: Good.

Ashley: I’m as ready as I’m ever going to be.

Traci: You look a little nervous.

Ashley: Do I?

Traci: A little.

Ashley: Oh.

Traci: But it’s good nerves. It’s good. It’s, you know, bride to be butterflies.

Ashley: Yeah.

Traci: Okay, anyway, all right, I love you both, I’ll see you in a little while. Okay. Bye, honey.

Ashley: Okay.

Abby: Aunt traci’s right. You do look a little anxious.

Ashley: Well, maybe, but that’s silly, right? I mean, this isn’t my first wedding, so…

[ Both chuckling ]

Abby: Which either means that you’re very excited or terrified. Mom, you don’t have to go through with this if you’re not ready.

The thought of getting screened

Announcer: Additional sponsorship provided by…

Ashley: Abby, I am marrying tucker because I love him. And I’m excited about our future because this time, we’re gonna get it right.

Abby: You have no idea how badly I want that to be true, mom.

Ashley: It is true.

Abby: I am just so scared that he’s going to break your a honeyI will kill him before I ever let that happen.

Abby: Not if I do it first.

[ Both chuckling ]

Victor: Tucker mccall. So, you got your greedy hands on ashley again, huh?

Tucker: Yeah.

Victor: Yeah.

Tucker: Yeah. I know you’ve always carried a deep fondness for ashley. Maybe you should give her a little more credit this time.

Victor: For marrying you? You serious?

Tucker: Well, how about just accounting for the fact that, uh, she’s a woman who knows what she wants and therefore, who she loves.

Victor: You’re not fooling anyone. You know what you are? You’re a third-rate con artist. Not half as clever as you think you are. And ashley is taking you for a ride.

Tucker: Hm.

Victor: She’s going through with the sham wedding to get back at jack and diane.

[ Victor and tucker chuckling ]

Kyle: It’s just us. You know, you can tell me anything.

Audra: And I keep telling you, kyle, there’s nothing to say. It’s just been a long, difficult day, that’s all.

Kyle: So, run it by me.

Audra: Kyle.

Kyle: Maybe I can help.

[ Audra sighing ]

Audra: Look, it’s personal, okay? It’s just something that happened a long time ago that I’m trying to resolve and it just hasn’t been easy.

Kyle: Okay, what is it?

Audra: Hm, well, there are just certain things about me I rather you didn’t know.

Kyle: Okay, so you have a semi-sketchy past. I do too. We’ve established that and I’m not here to judge you.

Audra: Would be nice to have someone to confide in who wouldn’t expect anything in return.

Kyle: Oh, I’m that someone.

Audra: But at the same time, knowledge is power and I’m not sure I’m ready to give you that kind of hold over me.

Kyle: Oh. What do I have to do to prove my trustworthiness?

Audra: Let’s go upstairs.

Diane: I’m just not sure how billy fits into all of this. If ashley is walking away from jabot with only a buyout, then we don’t need him to be our inside man anymore. He can stop pretending to hate us.

Jack: I don’t know.

Diane: Well, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if we called it off. It’s gotta be tough being torn between his brother and sister.

Jack: Are you really that worried about billy?

Diane: Oh, I just think it’s a lot to ask from him. Especially when it’s not his problem.

Jack: It’s his family company. He wants to play a role.

Diane: Yes, but if there’s nothing more to fight over–

Jack: That’s if we’re to believe that ashley is being honest. I don’t think she is. Look, she’s not gonna change her mind that quickly and with tucker whispering in her ear, who knows what they have planned for us? No, I think we need billy on our side now more than ever.

Billy: Hi.

Chelsea: Hi.

Billy: How are you?

Chelsea: I’m good. Sorry I’m a little late.

Billy: You’re right on time and you look absolutely stunning.

Chelsea: Wow, you look very handsome.

Billy: Hm. That’s the suit.

[ Chelsea laughing ] Thank you very much for agreeing to be my date tonight. Means a lot to me.

Chelsea: Thank you for asking me. Not gonna lie, I’m a little bit nervous.

Billy: Yeah?

Chelsea: Yeah.

Billy: What are you nervous about?

Chelsea: Oh, you know, it’s your family. There’s a lot of drama going on between jack and ashley.

Billy: Yeah, that’s a typical abbott family bash.

Chelsea: You know what I mean.

Billy: Yeah, I do. Look, tonight might turn out to be a pretty long night, so if you want to turn around and skip the whole thing, I’m not gonna hold it against you.

Chelsea: Not gonna happen.

[ Billy chuckling ]

Billy: Good.

[ Chelsea chuckling ] Because I’m gonna need your help keeping me from being me.

Chelsea: What do you mean by that?

Billy: Nothing. No big deal. Just thinking out loud.Chelsea: Thinking about what?

[ Billy sighing ]

Billy: The whole situation with jabot. I mean, you know how I agreed to help jack and diane get on the inside of tucker and ashley to figure out what they’re up to? Pretending to be mad at jack, so I can gain ashley’s trust, that sort of thing?

Chelsea: Yeah.

Billy: Well, turns out the joke might be on me. Some luxury creams just sit on top of skin. I am in love with mixtiles. You just pull the adhesive off the back and stick it to any surface, and there’s no damage to your walls. Go to mixtiles.Com and pick sizing, filters and it really makes it fit the decor of your home. Order now and get up to 50% off. (Rebecca) this can’t be real.

Chelsea: So, what happened?

Billy: What happened is I did my job so well that ashley offered me the top spot at jabot if I roll over on jack.

Chelsea: Wow.

Billy: Yeah. Quite the family, huh?

Chelsea: What did you say?

Billy: What I should’ve said is, “go to hell.” But I didn’T. I didn’t say anything. Which I’m assuming means ashley thinks that I’m thinking about it, which, I guess, is all part of the plan.

Chelsea: So, are you thinking about it?

Billy: It’s tempting. And that’s the rub. Ultimately, I want to do what’s right for jabot. But every crooked bone in my body wants to take the opportunity that’s there and not care who I hurt or betray. That instinct to beat the house is still in me. And it scares the hell out of me.

Chelsea: But you didn’t take ashley up on her offer. That’s good.

Billy: No, I haven’t talked to her since.

Chelsea: Don’t you see that as progress?

Billy: I see that as me fighting like hell not to be a greedy bastard.

Chelsea: Well, the way I see it, uh, you were offered something from your sister. Something you’ve always coveted. Something you felt you deserved, but the price was too high.

Billy: I haven’t turned her down yet.

Chelsea: But you’re talking to me about it first. So, no matter how you spin it, that is a positive thing.

Billy: So, you’re saying I’ve evolved?

Chelsea: I think you’re getting there. That is impressive. I’m proud of you. You know, even if you’re not going to be proud of yourself, I will be proud for both of us. I have an idea. Why don’t we ditch the wedding and go do something else?

Billy: As tempting as that is, I can’T.

Chelsea: You know you’re gonna be caught between both sides here, right?

Billy: Yeah, I know. And I can do that for one night. I love my sister. Whether this marriage is real or not, I’m going to be there to support her. And thanks to you, I won’t do anything stupid.

Chelsea: You don’t give yourself enough credit.

Billy: Hm. Back at you. You deserve credit too. I’m feeling a lot better about the situation thanks to you.

Chelsea: After everything you’ve done for me, it’s the least I can do for you.

Diane: So, we leave the plan with billy as is.

Jack: I think that’s our best shot right now.

Diane: You’re probably right. There’s just a part of me though, the wishful thinking part that wants to think that ashley wants to stop fighting out of sheer exhaustion, if nothing else. And god knows I feel the same way.

Jack: I know and I know it hasn’t been easy for you, and I did not want to start our marriage this way, but ashley’s left us no choice.

Diane: I know. I just want it to be over.

Jack: I know. And it will be soon, I promise. In fact, I have one more card up my sleeve that might actually get us there.

[ Door clicks open ] Hey!

Diane: Hello! Hi!

Traci: Hello. Uh, wow! It looks like it’s time for me to get ready for the wedding.

Jack: How are things at the chancellor family mansion?

Traci: If you’re asking about ashley, she’s a little nervous. She’s maybe more nervous than I’ve ever seen her.

Jack: Well, that seems appropriate when you’re about to make the biggest mistake of your life.

Traci: Oh, stop. You promised. I’m– these are good nerves. These are bride-to-be nerves. Our sister is genuinely excited and happy, and we should be happy for her. I mean, who knows? Maybe this really is her time.

Abby: Hi!

Ashley: Hi, honey. You look pretty.

Abby: Thanks. Dominic is so sad that he has the sniffles and he can’t be the ring bearer.

Ashley: Aw. My sweet grandson.

Abby: So, uh, this truce with uncle jack.

Ashley: What about it?

Abby: Is it real?

Ashley: Abby, honestly.

Abby: I’m just asking because it all happened so quickly and nothing really changed between the two of you, so–

Ashley: I don’t want anything to ruin this day, please.

Abby: And you love tucker, and you forgive him because there’s many reasons not to.

Ashley: We’re not the same people we used to be. We’ve actually grown and changed. And this was always meant to be. It’s just taken us a little longer to get here.

Abby: Wow, well, it sounds like one of aunt traci’s love stories, if you take out all the conventional parts.

[ Both laughing ]

Ashley: Well, there’s nothing conventional about tucker and me, that’s for sure. And I wouldn’t have it any other way, so…

Devon: This is work, gentlemen. Will the two of you be all right if I step away?

Tucker: I think so. We’re just having a meeting of the minds, aren’t we, victor?

Victor: We will be fine, devon.

Devon: Sure.

Tucker: Yeah.

Devon: Okay. Excuse me.

Tucker: I understand your skepticism, victor, it’s– I get it, it’s, uh… but you’re wrong this time, actually, you know. She does love me and I love her. Sticking it to– to diane and jack is icing on the wedding cake.

Victor: You’re forgetting who you’re talking to. I know that you and ashley bought a company in europe.

[ Tucker scoffing ] As the foundation for a new business.

Tucker: Wow. Man, you never cease to amaze me. We thought we had a tight lid on that one. Not even jack knows about it.

Victor: And he’s not even a silent partner in it.

Tucker: Mm-mm. Score one for you.

Victor: So… I’ve known ashley for a while. She’s not going to sever ties with jabot. She simply is doing this in order to wrest control away from jack. You’re just along for the ride.

Tucker: Yeah. You might be right. On the other hand, you might be wrong,

[ Victor chuckling ] But I got a wedding–

Victor: You’re talking in riddles. Be careful, son.

Tucker: Meet you outside.

Devon: Sure. Inez, let me ask you, With cirkul, your water is deliciously flavored at the turn of a dial, with zero sugar and zero calories. And cirkul has over 40 flavors, so your water can be as unique as you are. Try cirkul at drinkcirkul.Com if you’re still having bladder leaks,

[ Kyle chuckling ]

Kyle: So, tell me. Is this how you handle all your trust issues?

Audra: No. This is chemistry.

Kyle: Oh. Ooh.

Audra: The trust issues sadly remain.

Kyle: Well, I’ll make it easy for you. You can tell me as much or as little about this problem you have.

Audra: Well, I– I covered up a little problem for tucker when we worked together and sadly, it’s come back to bite me.

Kyle: How so?

Audra: This person who knows about it is holding a hammer over my head to convince victoria and her father that a certain merger is advantageous to newman enterprises. But if I pull it off, I– I risk losing my own job and possibly, yours too.

Kyle: Hm. Have you figured out what you’re gonna do about it?

Audra: I mean, somehow, i need to de-weaponize the threat, but every time I think I have the right answer, it’s– it’s just the wrong one. And, look, I admit, I am the first one to admit that I like a little drama in my life, you know, to keep things interesting, but this is a big mess, even for me.

Kyle: Hey. It might help if you tell me who or what this threat is.

Audra: Adam newman.

[ Kyle sighing ]

Abby: Mom, you look stunning.

Ashley: Oh, thanks. Oh, thank you for everything else.

Abby: Even the third degree about tucker.

Ashley: Yeah, even the third degree.

Abby: Well, enough of all that, it is time for the traditions.

Ashley: What do you mean, “traditions”?

Abby: You know, something old, something borrowed, something blue.

Ashley: No, no. Please, we don’t have to do that. This is not my first rodeo.

Abby: Come on. I want to do it. I love traditions.

Ashley: Ugh. Okay.

Abby: Okay, now… do you remember this?

Ashley: Of course I remember that. I gave that to you on your 10th birthday. We were in paris together.

Abby: It was my very first piece of real jewelry. I felt so grown up. And then, we went and had lunch at a little cafe, and you took me to the louvre for the very first time and I saw the mona lisa. It’s a day that I will never forget.

Ashley: I love this. Thank you. So, this is borrowed, right?

Abby: Mm-hmm.

Ashley: What’s that? That looks kind of old. So, that’s the old thing?

Abby: Mm-hmm.

Ashley: Oh!

[ Both laughing ] It’s my baby book. That’s very funny. Where did you find this?

Abby: It was in a box with some of dina’s things. I’ve been waiting to give it to you on a special occasion and I think this qualifies.

Ashley: You know what? Looking at this, I can almost hear my mother’s voice. I wish she was here.

Abby: Me too.

[ Ashley sighing ]

Ashley: This is not good for my makeup, however. Thank you. So, what do we do about the blue? We need a blue thing, right?

Abby: Why, your dress, of course.

Ashley: That’s right. Perfect.

Abby: Yes.

Ashley: Honey, I love you so much. You’ve always been my perfect, eternal love and you always will be. Bringing you into the world and watching you grow into this magnificent woman has been the blessing of my life. I love you.

Abby: I love you.

[ Ashley sighing ]

Devon: All right.

Tucker: All right.

Devon: You okay?

Tucker: I don’t know. I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time. It’s kind of hard to believe it’s finally here.

Devon: Yeah, well…

Tucker: Hey. Hey.

Billy: Hey.

Tucker: Oh, hey, man.

Billy: Hey, hi.

Tucker: Hi, chelsea.

Abby: The bride is areTucker: Oh, fantastic. I gotta tell you, the place looks absolutely beautiful, abby. Thank you so much.

Abby: I would do anything for my mom.

Ashley: Abby!

Abby: Excuse me. You look beautiful.

Ashley: Thank you. Is everybody here? You ready?

Abby: Uh, everyone except for uncle jack, diane and aunt traci.

Ashley: Do you think jack’s backing out?

Abby: No, no, no. Aunt traci would never let that happen. I think we should just give it another minute.

Ashley: No, I’m not going to let jack hold up my wedding. Absolutely not. And traci, I feel bad, but she’s going to have to understand. We’re going to get married, with or without them. We just have to.

Abby: Are you sure?

Ashley: Yes, I’m sure. I don’t want to wait. Let’s just go.

Abby: Uh, okay.

Ashley: ‘Kay?

Abby: Yeah. Uh, everyone, take your places. It’s time.

[ Mouthing ] Go.

Ashley: All right.

Abby: You’re beautiful. You ready?

Ashley: Yeah.

[ Door rattling open ]

Jack: Sorry, we’re late. Uh, did we miss anything? More shopping?

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

What can you do

with sensitive skin?

Victor: Hi, sweetheart.

Nikki: Hey.

Victor: I guess it’s really happening. Ashley is going through with the sham wedding to tucker mccall.

Nikki: She’s obviously still smitten with him, but let’s forget about that right now. We have bigger problems.

Victor: What do you mean, “bigger problems?”

Nikki: Their names are nate and audra.

Kyle: Yeah, I might have figured it was adam. Once you mentioned newman enterprises, I started connecting the dots. What– what does he have on you?

Audra: I’d rather not go into the details, so.

Kyle: Okay. Then, what, specifically, is he asking you to do?

Audra: Oh, you know, nothing much. Just convince the newmans to merge his new company with newman media.

Kyle: Ah, I see what you mean.

Audra: You know, it’s a vendetta move and the newmans know it. And that’s why it’s proving impossible to get them on board. Victoria hates adam and victor wants adam to focus solely on his new company and I’m stuck in the middle.

Kyle: So, when does adam want all this to happen?

Audra: Sooner rather than later. And I’ve just been– I’ve been racking my brain trying to find something else to give him, but this is all he wants.

Kyle: You know… there is another way to play this.

Jack: Well, I, uh– I hope we didn’t hold anything up.

Ashley: Not at all. We were gonna do it without you.

Traci: Ashley, you look beautiful.

Ashley: Thanks, trace.

Jack: Shall we?

Diane: Yeah, sorry.

Ashley: Let’s begin… again.

[ “Wedding march” playing ]

[ Music stopping ]

Minister: Dearly beloved. My a1c was up here; now, it’s down with rybelsus.

Minister: And now, the happy couple will exchange their personal vows.

Tucker: Did you prepare a vow?

Ashley: No.

Tucker: Neither did I.

Ashley: What are we gonna do?

Tucker: I guess, we’re just going to wing it.

Ashley: Okay, well, that’s the story of us, isn’t it? We’re always winging it.

Tucker: All right, then, it reminds me the first time we did this and I just woken up from a coma.

[ Both chuckling ]

Ashley: Had you right where I wanted you.

Tucker: Right. So basically, you just took advantage of me.

Ashley: Well, you made it easy. You were a proper bastard.

Tucker: Yeah. Proper bastard. I think she wanted to have that embroidered on my toe.

[ Ashley laughing forcefully ]

Ashley: I hated you so much.

Tucker: Right back at you.

Ashley: Okay. Why are we doing this?

Tucker: I have no idea. You tell me.

Ashley: Well, you are impossible, but I guess, I’m doing this because I think you understand me probably more than anybody ever has, you know, and um… I know that you love me, every part of me. And I’m excited because I know it’s going to be fun. [ Laughs ] It’s going to be a lot of laughs, I think, a lot of, well, love. Sorry. You know. I think we’re ready for each other, tucker. I know that we have gone through hell to get here, but I’m glad we did. I love you. Okay, now, you go.

Tucker: [ Laughs ] Oh, man. That’s tough to follow.

Ashley: Well, just try. Say something.

Tucker: Um, well, so often, you don’t know what’s missing in your life until it’s gone. And, uh, I spent a lot of timerying pretend that you didn’t matter to me. I had to travel halfway across the world in order to do that because… being near you and… seeing you would just remind me always of what I– what I had lost. But you know, you can’t ever escape yourself. And for some reason, at night, you know, it’s always the worst. You wake up and– and the truth just kinda slaps you across the face. It was always you. Ashley, the one that got away. And I feel like this is a miracle.

Ashley: Yeah.

Tucker: And it’s a miracle because I get to try again and do it right. I never stopped loving you. I’ll always love you.

Ashley: Okay.

Tucker: That’s all I got.

[ Laughing ]

Minister: Well then, by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.

Ashley: Wait, hold on a second.

[ All laughing ]

[ All applauding ]

Abby: Hey, that was beautiful.

Ashley: Okay.

Devon: Congratulations.

Abby: Welcome to the family.

Tucker: Thank you very much, abby. Thanks a lot. Oo

Devon: Hi, dad.

Tucker: How did I do?

Devon: I think you killed it.

Tucker: Oh, thank you, son.

Devon: Did a good job.

Tucker: Thanks for everything.

Traci: Oh, ashley. Just be happy, okay?

Ashley: I am.

Traci: Okay. [ Laughing ]

Chelsea: Congratulations.

Ashley: Thank you. Thank you so much for coming.

Billy: Wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

Ashley: Thanks. Jack. Come on. You can do it. You’ve come this far. Wish me happiness, and, uh, welcome tucker into the family.

Jack: Well, I am here with my wife. Why don’t we let her congratulate you first and I’ll follow suit.

Victor: So, what’s the issue with nate and audra?

Nikki: Well, they each pitched adam’s idea that adustus and newman media are redundant and should merge.

Victor: I thought we had put that issue on hold.

Nikki: I guess they didn’t get the memo.

Victor: When did this happen?

Nikki: Right after you left for germany, which is no coincidence. Nate said that he wanted to bring victoria and me on board before approaching you with it. Audra came to me separately, but clearly, they had compared notes.

Victor: Uh-huh. Question is, to what purpose?

Nikki: Well, it’s not hard to figure out nate’s motivation. He wants to impress you with his ambition, but I don’t understand what audra would get out of a merger. I mean, she has to know that she wouldn’t be given the top position at the bigger company, so why would she push for something that would clearly demote her?

Victor: Who benefits the most?

Nikki: Adam.

Victor: You got it.

Kyle: So, interesting plan?

Audra: I like the way your mind works. I’m actually a little upset I didn’t think about it myself.

Kyle: Oh, you’ll get over it.

Audra: I already have. I think it’s brilliant.

Kyle: Hm. It’ll put power and protection on your side from someone who’s been in your position and won’t judge you for it.

Audra: A win-win.

Kyle: Exactly.

Audra: I’m gonna set the plan in motion asap. But first, you deserve a reward for being so damn smart.

Kyle: Mm-hmm.

Trelegy for copd.

[ Phone chiming ]

Victor: Well, now, speak of the devil.

Nikki: Which one?

Victor: Audra is here to see me. You can let her in. What’s wrong?

Nikki: She didn’t listen to a word I said. I told her the idea was dead and to drop it.

Victor: I’m still curious to see what she has to say. Hello, audra.

Audra: Uh, good evening, mr. And mrs. Newman. I’m so sorry for interrupting your night. I didn’t expect to see you here. And if you think this little chat with victor is going to change anyone’s mind, you are mistaken.

Audra: I’m not trying to do that.

Victor: So, you didn’t come here to try to convince me to merge the two companies.

Audra: It is about the merger, but I need to explain why I’ve been trying to convince you to do it. Your son, adam, has my back against the wall and I don’t know what to do about it.

Diane: I, um, wish you all the best.

Ashley: Thanks.

Diane: Sure.

Devon: All right, everybody. I think that it’s, uh, time for the toasts. Whoever wants to grab some champagne. Thank you, baby.

Jack: All right, thank you.

Devon: We got two more. Who am I missing? Who am I missing? There you go.

Billy: Thank you very much.

Abby: Got one?

Devon: Yeah. And I will, uh– I’ll go ahead, and kick things off.

Abby: Yeah.

Devon: I just want to say congratulations to the newlyweds here. I wish you both a very long and happy life together. And I also want to say thank you on behalf of abby and myself for making the holidays so much easier on us since we don’t have to choose between which grandparents to celebrate with.

Ashley: You’re welcome.

Devon: Thank you. Cheers.

Abby: Cheers.

Tucker: And I would like to toast… my lovely new bride. I’m so looking forward to spending the rest of my life and my career with her. We are going to be partners in the truest sense of the word. I love you. And here’s to ashley.

Ashley: Oh, thank you, honey, I love you too.

Devon: Cheers.

[ Glasses clinking ]

Chelsea: How are you doing?

Billy: I’m good. I see things clear now. Don’t worry. I’m not going to make any mistakes.

Kyle: Um, sorry, I’m late. Looks like I’m really late.

[ Traci laughing ]

Diane: So, what is this ace up your sleeve you’ve been teasing me with?

Jack: Well, you’ll know soon enough. Ash!

Ashley: What’s this?

Jack: My wedding gift to you.

Ashley: You’re giving me my company’s assets back?

Jack: To let you know the war between us is over. And that I wish you success.

Ashley: Hm, what’s the catch?

Dante: What are you doing, Ma? You don’t have people to do this for you?

Olivia: Yes, I do, but doing it myself keeps me busy. Keeps me from constantly worrying.

Dante: Mm. About Ned?

Olivia: [ Sighs ] I miss him. Leaving him at the PCPD last night, letting Sonny sign him out, I mean, it just — it felt all kinds of wrong.

Dante: Come on. What are you gonna do? He didn’t want to come with us. Sonny’s got him. You know, he’ll be fine.

Olivia: [ Sighs ] I know. And I know that I can trust Sonny. I just, uh… I got to come to terms with the fact… that I’ve lost my husband.

Dante: W-what are you saying? You’re gonna give up on Ned?

Sonny: Selina, no, you listen to me. You — you can’t go over there conducting business without letting me know first. Do you understand what I’m saying? Are we clear? Hold on. W-where are you going?

Ned: Um, I need some coffee.

Sonny: We have coffee here. I’ll just have Graciella make you a fresh —

Ned: No. No, thanks. I need some space.

[ Door closes ]

Carly: I cannot believe you had your phone turned off.

Josslyn: I know. I’m so, so sorry.

Carly: I mean, what if there had been an emergency? What if Michael and Willow needed you? What if Donna needed you?

Josslyn: I know. I know. I woke up this morning to all of your texts and your voicemails, and I freaked out. I can’t stop thinking about how I left you at the PCPD overnight.

Carly: It’s not your fault, I guess. I mean, I’m the one that got in a bar fight.

Josslyn: Yeah. Do you want to tell me about that? I mean, what were you doing at The Highsider?

Dex: Hey, boss. Betty’s on her way up.

Sonny: Alright. I want you to listen, right? Stay out of sight.

Betty: I’m here to see Mr. Corinthos.

Sonny: Hey, Betty. Come on in.

Betty: Good morning, Mr. Corinthos.

Sonny: Good morning to you, too. I appreciate you coming by before you went to Wyndemere and pick up, uh, Avery.

Betty: It’s my pleasure.

Sonny: Yeah.

Betty: Whatever you need me to do to make your and Miss Jerome’s life easier.

Sonny: I appreciate that.

Betty: I hope everything is alright with Avery, or with me.

Sonny: Oh, everything’s great with Avery. She, uh, you know, so far, so good. She seems to be getting along with you real well, right?

Betty: I’m so happy to hear that. She’s adorable. And we’ve been having fun.

Sonny: Good. Good. ‘Cause there’s, uh, been a change of plans.

[ Radio chatter ]

Valentin: The fire department and the police have wrapped things up. I passed along your appreciation for doing what they could to save your townhouse.

Anna: [ Sniffles ]

Valentin: Anna. Anna, I think we should go.

Anna: Yeah. [ Clears throat ] We should go. [ Sighs ] There’s nothing left here. Nothing left of my life.

Betty: What’s changed, Mr. Corinthos?

Sonny: You’re taking Avery to camp today, right?

Betty: Yes, that was my plan. I’m picking up Avery at Wyndemere for Miss Jerome this morning, then I’ll take her to day camp.

Sonny: What time does camp finish?

Betty: 3:00.

Sonny: Oh.

Betty: A-and then I’ll bring her back here, if that’s okay with you.

Sonny: You’re gonna stay with her till it’s finished.

Betty: Yes, I’m planning to. Unless you or Miss Jerome need me to do something for you?

Sonny: No, no, you stay — you stay with Avery. I-I — look, I — I have something I gotta do. I got a business meeting that I can’t miss. I won’t be back here till after 5:00. So you stay with Avery here for a couple of hours. Can — can you do that for me?

Betty: Of course. That won’t be a problem at all. I really look forward to the time I get to spend with Avery. She’s such a sweetheart.

Sonny: So you’re clear on what, uh, Ava needs you to do, right?

Betty: Yes.

Sonny: You know what’s funny? I was, uh, worried to change nannies because Avery’s s– she’s so, you know, attached to Pilar. But you seem so nice and sweet, and… Avery seems to be taken with you.

Betty: I know how hard change can be for a child, so I’m really glad to hear that Avery is adjusting well.

Sonny: I’ll see you around 5:00, right?

Betty: Thank you, Mr. Corinthos.

Sonny: Okay.

Mason: Hey, Cuz.

Austin: Why are you always here?!

Mason: Good morning to you, too.

Austin: I do not want you here. Why — wha– what do you want this time?

Mason: You know, one of the reasons the boss paid for your medical school was so you’d be available to us. And right now, I’m — I’m in need.

Austin: No, you’re not. Y– I patched you up last night. It’s not a serious injury. There was no need for you to come back.

Mason: Tell that to my headache. Alright? Look, I just need something for the pain, and I’m still seeing double from when that blonde conked me last night.

Carly: Well, it all started when I went to The Metro Court to see Olivia.

Josslyn: How was that? I know you two have been having a hard time.

Carly: Mm. It was weird. Olivia is in my old office.

Josslyn: Oh, that’s tough. I’m sorry. Well, at least Nina didn’t take advantage of that opportunity to steal that again.

Carly: Yeah.  Well, Olivia said she would never let that happen. But, man, I miss The Metro Court. I miss my staff. I miss the day-to-day problems and all the excitement that comes with it. I miss the guests. God, it made me more determined than ever to get my hotel back. And I will.

Josslyn: I have no doubt.

Carly: Anyway… Olivia and I were just hanging out and were reminiscing about the day we met. And, I don’t know, she’s going through so much with Ned, and I’m so worried about Drew that we needed a distraction, so we went to The Highsider.

Josslyn: Did you find your distraction before the cops showed up?

Carly: [ Sighs ] Things got really crazy really quickly. But believe it or not, it wasn’t our fault.

Olivia: Of course I haven’t given up on Ned. H-how could I? He’s Leo’s father.

Dante: You can’t just do it for Leo, Ma.

Olivia: I know. Dante, I am doing this for our family. For Leo’s sake as much as mine. I-I have to figure out who Eddie is now. I-I-I-I-I don’t know what’s going on in that head of his. He may never go back to being Ned.

Dante: Wow. I mean, do you think you can accept that?

Olivia: I don’t know. It kind of freaks me out, honestly. I mean, ’cause I look at him and I expect to see Ned, and all I see is Eddie. He’s all Eddie now. I feel like Ned has completely disappeared, and — and — and I have to figure out a way of living with that… so that — so that he’s not fighting against me and I’m not always trying to control him.

Dante: Well, you don’t —

[ Cellphone ringing ]

Dante: Uh, it’s the station, Ma. Sorry. I got —

Olivia: No, no, no. Don’t apologize. Take it, take it, take it.

Dante: Alright. Yeah, what’s up? What happened? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, th– I’m on my way. Yeah. There was a fire at Anna’s townhome last night.

Olivia: Oh, my god. Is everyone okay?

Dante: I don’t know. I don’t know. I’ll let you know, okay?

Olivia: Yeah, yeah, yeah. You have to.

Dante: I’ll see you.

Olivia: Uh, um, honey… thank you for rescuing me last night.

Dante: [ Scoffs ] Come on. Good luck with, uh, Eddie.

Olivia: Thanks.

Valentin: I shouldn’t have gone to ELQ last night.

Anna: What are you doing? You can’t… blame yourself for this.

Valentin: I should have been here with you.

Anna: You didn’t know this was going to happen. You got a business to run. You can’t babysit me all the time.

Valentin: This could have ended so badly. You could have been upstairs asleep in your bed.

Anna: Well, I wasn’t. I went for a run, thank God.

Valentin: Yeah, we got lucky.

Anna: I don’t know.

Valentin: Why? What does that mean?

Anna: I don’t know if the arsonist was… outside waiting for me to leave… or they assumed I was asleep upstairs.

Valentin: Well, let’s hope it’s the former. I don’t much like the sound of the second one. This whole thing started when my father outed your past as a double agent, and it looks like he got what he wanted. Someone’s made you a target of their revenge.

Sonny: I want all eyes on Betty, especially when she’s with Avery.

Dex: Absolutely.

Sonny: Is this from Brick?

Dex: Yeah. It arrived this morning. What is it?

Sonny: A special present for Betty. There’s a lot of information on this flash drive. Fabricated by, um, Brick. None of it accurate. And Betty is gonna find it.

Dex: Okay, how do we make sure she gets her hands on it?

Sonny: Well, knowing she’s gonna be here with Avery for a few hours, she’s not gonna resist searching the place. And she’s gonna be pleasantly surprised what she finds on my computer. False Pikeman data. [ Laughs ]

Dex: And then what?

Sonny: She’s gonna bring it to Mason and Austin… and they’re gonna bring it to… whoever they work for.

Carly: So, when we got to The Highsider, Ned was there, and I wanted to find out for myself if he really lost his memory and believed he was Eddie.

Josslyn: Did he remember turning you into the S.E.C.?

Carly: No, but Olivia gave me some alone time with him, and that’s when some guy came up to her, and he wouldn’t take no for an answer, and he kept grabbing her.

Josslyn: Ew. And that’s when you stepped in?

Carly: No, Ned jumped in before I could, and that’s when the fight started.

Josslyn: Okay. I don’t understand. Why — why were you, Olivia, and Ned arrested when someone else started it?

Carly: I don’t know. I don’t know. I guess when the cops showed up, the guy must have snuck out the back. And Olivia was really upset about that, and she got a little aggressive with one of the cops, and that’s when we got arrested.

Josslyn: Oh, okay. Never a dull moment. Mom, I’m so sorry for leaving you there all night. I really feel so bad.

Carly: That’s okay. Really. I mean, to be honest, I could have left earlier if I let Sonny sign me out.

Josslyn: Oh, well, why didn’t you? I mean, I thought you were all, “Let’s forgive and forget,” when it comes to him. I mean, so much so that you have Dex secretly watching him and reporting back to Michael. I mean, I don’t understand. If you care about him, then… why wouldn’t you let him help you?

Anna: Victor put a target on my back. He’s probably smiling up from whatever hell he’s in.

Valentin: Even from beyond the grave, he won’t stop inflicting damage.

Anna: [ Sighs ] Yeah. Naively, I thought his motive was to get me kicked out of the WSB. But I think it was a lot bigger than that. I hurt — I hurt a lot of people.

Valentin: You paid for that.

Anna: I don’t know. People suffered because of what I did. Can’t deny that. [ Exhales deeply ] People died. And who did they leave behind? Children. Lovers. How did it affect them? One life touches a lot of people, and someone out there wants me to pay for what I did. And honestly, I-I don’t blame them for wanting that.

Valentin: Okay, stop. Don’t say that. You don’t deserve any of this.

Anna: Really?

Valentin: Whoever is after you, whatever they think they’ve lost, it does not justify revenge.

Anna: Since when? Since when?

Olivia: Hey. Surprised to see you here this [chuckles] morning. Same outfit you had on at the bar last night, huh?

Ned: [ Laughs ] Yeah, I don’t have too many changes of clothes over at Sonny’s, but I’m glad you’re here.

Olivia: Why? What’s — what’s going on?

Ned: I wanted to see you. But I didn’t want to run the risk of going to the house and bumping into Tracy.

Olivia: Oh, yeah. She can be a lot to take first thing in the morning.

Ned: I can only imagine. So, how are you doing after last night?

Olivia: I’m okay. Better than I would have been if you hadn’t, uh, stepped in and defended me against that creep. So thank you for that. Thank you.

Ned: Don’t mention it.

Olivia: How are you?

Ned: Uh, I’m okay.

Olivia: Yeah, that guy, uh, really landed a couple of good punches on you. He hit you pretty hard.

Ned: Yeah, yeah. Well… delivered a-a mean roundhouse, but, you know, I’m definitely feeling it this morning.

[ Both chuckle ]

Olivia: Oh, you know what? Why don’t you let me get you some ice from the bar?

Ned: No, no, Olivia, I’m fine. I really am. I’m — I’m — I’m — I’m good. I’m just, uh, glad that you’re okay.

Olivia: I’m glad you’re okay, too.

Ned: Well, I should get going.

Olivia: Eddie. Wait.

Carly: Watching out for Sonny and making sure his businesses are stable is very different than accepting help from him.

Josslyn: Why? I mean, why is it different? I don’t understand.

Carly: Joss, we’ve talked about this. Sonny has got to stay strong. If he loses power, we’re no longer safe.

Josslyn: But you’re not married anymore, so why would that affect you?

Carly: Okay. I agree. In a normal situation, it shouldn’t affect me. But I already told you this. Because of who Sonny is, we’re all affected. [ Sighs ] If Sonny is weak, then his kids and everyone around him are targets. That includes Donna, Avery, Michael, you, Dante. Me. Especially me.

Josslyn: I just don’t like that you have to protect him.

Carly: I get that. But you need to understand this is the way things are, and Sonny and I will always be connected.

Josslyn: So that’s why you want Dex and Michael working together, to protect him? Help him?

Carly: Yes, exactly.

Josslyn: Is that the only reason?

Sonny: Ava got herself in a complicated situation. She is being blackmailed by Austin’s cousin, Mason. I’m not gonna bore you with the details.

Dex: Understood. But do you think Austin is in on the blackmailing?

Sonny: Well… [chuckles] Ava doesn’t think so, but I’m not 100% sure that Austin is innocent in all this. So I had Brick run intel on Austin, Mason, and Betty. They’re from Pautauk. Mason and Austin are cousins. Betty used to work for Mason’s family trucking company. It was sold out a couple of years ago. You know, it’s unknown who bought it out, but it was purchased through a shell company. No criminal record.

Dex: Okay, so Mason blackmailed Ava into hiring Betty to be Avery’s new nanny, giving her access to you and the penthouse?

Sonny: Yeah. So, here’s the thing. Betty doesn’t know that Ava came clean with me. And Ava thinks that Mason and Austin are working for somebody else.

Dex: Any idea who?

Sonny: Somebody who wants information on my Pikeman deal.

Mason: You gonna give me something for this headache, or what?

Austin: Oh, no, no. No, no, no, no, no, no. This is not a clubhouse, okay? I’m actually a doctor. I actually have patients to see. So you guys are gonna have to have your little treehouse meeting some other place.

Betty: I got business to discuss with both of you.

Mason: Look, you might be the fancy doctor with the medical degree and all, but you’re just an employee like the rest of us. You do as the boss tells you. Speaking of which, Betty, do you have good news for us?

Betty: Better than good. I’m taking Sonny’s daughter to day camp this morning, then back to his penthouse. Sonny will be away at a business meeting, which should give me two hours to search for some information on Pikeman.

Mason: See? Didn’t I tell you it was worth it to get Betty in there?

Anna: You understand this, though, because you wanted revenge on me for years.

Valentin: Then I realized it was your sister, Alex, that wronged me all along.

Anna: Right. But revenge feels like the answer. That’s my point. But it’s not. You know, I-I-I-it feels… like it’s going to take away the pain. But sometimes, it really just magnifies the whole thing.

Valentin: It certainly did with me.

Anna: Right. Someone out there is hurting. Maybe because of the decisions I made. And putting a target on my back, burning my house down makes what they’re doing seem righteous because of the things I did in my past. Hi.

Dante: Anna, I am so sorry.

Anna: I know. Thanks.

Dante: I’m glad you’re not hurt. Valentin.

Valentin: Dante.

Dante: So, I know my timing literally could not be worse, but if you’re feeling up to it, I could use a statement.

Anna: Protocol. Yeah, I get it.

Dante: I can give you a lift down to the station.

Anna: Yeah, that would be great.

Valentin: I’ll go with you.

Anna: No, no, it’s — it’s okay. I can handle this on my own.

Valentin: Why?

Anna: I’ll see you later.

Sonny: I had Brick fill this flash drive with all kinds of false data.

Dex: Will it be convincing enough?

Sonny: Well, you know what? Brick is the best at what he does. Mason a-and Betty, uh… are gonna think it’s the real deal and they’re gonna go deliver it to their boss.

Dex: Okay. How does feeding them false information help you?

Sonny: Well, Brick i-installed sophisticated tracking software. So, whoever has access to this flash drive is gonna allow Brick entry into their records and network. Once I find out who these Pautauk yahoos are reporting to… …I’m gonna take care of them and their boss.

Dex: So, we gotta make sure Betty finds that flash drive.

Sonny: No, I gotta make sure that — that she doesn’t know that I’m leading her to it.

Dex: What’s the plan?

Sonny: I’m gonna take Donna over to Carly’s. And since there’s not gonna be anybody here when Betty brings Avery from the camp… …you’re gonna handle what happens next.

Austin: Oh, this is so great. Betty having access to Sonny’s penthouse, a couple of hours there by herself. She can gather up all the information she can find, pass it on to the boss, and then, my favorite part — you two both gone, out of mine and Ava’s life for good.

Mason: [ Chuckles ] You know, for a person who went to medical school and became a doctor, you’re pretty dumb. Please. Why on earth would I ever let you go, when I still have use for you?

Austin: How did I know you were gonna say that?

Mason: Because you delivered the grand prize. Ava and her little kid. Oh, that gave the boss major leverage on Sonny.

Austin: I never delivered Ava. The last thing I wanted was Ava involved in this, and I definitely didn’t want her young child involved.

Betty:  Too late for that.

Mason: [ Chuckles ] Right? Listen, I know you. Play the hero for Ava all you want, but in the end, you’re still about yourself.

Carly: I know my stance with Sonny is confusing and hypocritical.

Josslyn: Yeah.

Carly: But our lives are intertwined, and — and that’s a fact, Josslyn.

Josslyn: I understand that.

Carly: And we share a child, you know, one we love and adore. And all our other kids — there’s you and Michael and Dante and Kristina. And Morgan. The loss of a child… we’ll be bonded over that forever, you know? There is so much that Sonny and I share.

Josslyn: I know that. It still doesn’t mean that — that this isn’t impossible for you.

Carly: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, it’s hard. It’s hard. But, you kn– we’re moving forward in our relationships. Sonny’s gonna marry Nina. I’m with Drew. I mean, I’m just focusing on the future. That’s all I can do.

Josslyn: I just… I don’t know how you’re doing that. I don’t know how you’re doing that with him.

Carly: Because I have to. I don’t have a choice. This is where we are. And being in a never-ending war with Sonny is not productive. And it’s not healthy.

Josslyn: I don’t think that this is healthy for you. I don’t think he’s healthy for any of us.

Carly: Alright. I know everything that has happened. And everything that we’ve been through. But at the end of the day, Sonny is still family. And we can’t forget that.

Ned: Is this another pitch to get me into therapy or bond with the Quartermaines? Because if it is, save your breath.

Olivia: On the contrary, it’s the opposite of that. I know that it took me a little while to get my head around this, but I realize it now. You are not Ned anymore. You’re Eddie.

Ned: I’m surprised to hear you say that.

Olivia: Yeah. As much as I would like to wrestle you to the ground and force you back to being Ned, I cannot do that. You… you’re not him anymore.

Ned: No, I’m not.

Olivia: You’ve changed. And you’ve got to be true to how you feel and who you are now. You’re not — you’re not hurting anybody by living as Eddie. So…

Ned: I’m hurting you. And I’m sorry. And I’m sorry for hurting Leo and Brook Lynn and even Tracy. But if I’m being honest with myself, I have to live as me — Eddie. ‘Cause that’s all I know how to be.

Olivia: And I gotta respect that.

Dante: According to the fire chief’s report, um, the physical evidence found at your house indicates that it was arson. Some kind of flammable liquid was ignited. You weren’t at the house when it happened, right?

Anna: No, I’d gone for this short run. I just needed to clear my head. You know?

Dante: You didn’t see anything or anyone suspicious, right?

Anna: No.

Dante: I was at your house around 10:30 last night, and you had told me that Valentin went to ELQ.

Anna: Right. There was a water main break and it was threatening the mainframe computer.

Dante: Hm. Uh, what time did he come back?

Anna: Oh, he didn’t come back to my house last night.

Dante: And what, so Valentin — what, he spent the night at ELQ?

Anna: I don’t know. I… I didn’t see him till this morning.

Dante: What time did he go over to ELQ?

Anna: I’m not sure of the exact time. I mean, obviously it was… before you turned up. What are you getting at?

Dante: Uh, Anna, I’m just… covering all the bases. You know how this works.

Anna: I do.

Dante: Uh, excuse me. I’m just gonna make a quick call. I’ll be right back. Hey, it’s Falconeri. Can we pull the security footage from the ELQ parking lot from last night? We’re trying to find out when Valentin Cassadine’s car arrived at the parking lot and if it ever left. Oh, and — and report this back to me only, please. Thanks. Okay. Let’s find out who had motive for that fire.

Carly: Thanks for saving me a trip and bringing her here so I didn’t have to go all the way over to your place.

Sonny: I’ll take any time I can with her. You have raised a very, uh, smart and independent young lady.

Carly: We both have. Yeah. And she couldn’t stop telling me about how much fun she had at your sleepover last night. So…

Sonny: Yeah, we — we had a great time. What about you?

Carly: What about me?

Sonny: Did you enjoy your time in jail?

Carly: No, I didn’t.

Sonny: Then why didn’t you let me sign you out? Was it your pride?

Ned: [ Sighs ] Thank you for respecting me. I get that this is really hard on you.

Olivia: Yeah. It hasn’t been easy…[chuckles] That’s for sure.

Ned: And I want to apologize for disappearing on you yesterday. You were being really nice and supportive and listening to me play my music. And when you went off to get me something to drink, I snuck off. And I’m sorry for not letting you know that I was leaving.

Olivia: Thank you for saying that. I-I-I-I mean, I know that this hasn’t been easy on you, either. And I — [chuckles] I was afraid that, uh — that maybe you left because, you know, I was smothering you or — or hovering.

Ned: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It really — it had nothing to do with you. I was actually, uh, kind of freaking out thinking about what Tracy had said, you know, about wanting to have me committed.

Olivia: Did you not believe me when I said I would never let that happen?

Ned: Yeah, but I was just afraid that Tracy might have changed your mind. She’s a force of nature.

Olivia: Yeah.

Dante: Okay, so last night when I was at your house, we were talking about who would want you dead and if there’s any connection between Pikeman and the sudden power shift at the WSB.

Anna: You know, something about this fire just feels different to me.

Dante: What do you mean?

Anna: Well, um, I don’t think the WSB or Pikeman had anything to do with it. Starting a fire is just too sloppy for the bureau. Like, if a trained agent wanted to kill me, they had ample opportunity to do it when I went for my run. A sniper could have easily taken me out.

Dante: Like they tried to at The Metro Court pool.

Anna: Right. Or I-I could have been hit by a car. You know as well as I do that there are people over at The Bureau that would take the fall for that, make it look like an accident. Those are their tactics. We both know that’s how they would have got it done. If I was a priority, I’d be dead by now, right? They’re not gonna start a fire in an empty house.

Dante: Okay, so you’re ready to take the WSB off the table as a — as a suspect?

Anna: I don’t know. I don’t know. But to me, my gut… this just feels like revenge, plain and simple.

Anna:  Once The Sun got hold of the story that I had, at one point, been a traitor, you know, they made it public knowledge. And — and it’s true. Some people lost their lives because of a few decisions that I made. I think there is someone out there that I hurt, and they want payback.

Dante: Look, I-I think maybe you’ve been carrying this guilt around with you for a long time, and m-maybe it’s messing with your head a little bit, clouding your thoughts.

Anna: I know. Yeah, I mean, there was a lot of processing going on, but my thoughts are clear.

Dante: Okay, then maybe you have to see that there is someone within the WSB that could be out to get rid of you.

Anna: I told you, starting a fire — that’s too sloppy for The Bureau.

Dante: But it’s deliberately sloppy, right? I mean, if someone in the WSB wanted to make it look like they wanted to get rid of you, they wouldn’t follow procedure, right?  They — they would — they would cover their tracks. And in what better way than setting your house on fire to get revenge, to send a message?

Anna: I mean, it could be anyone within that community.

Dante: Right. But that’s what I mean. That’s what makes this so dangerous. Look, you know better than anyone all about intelligence and espionage. You build something up, make it look like something else.

Anna: Right. Yeah, I used that strategy in a few black ops missions.

Dante: Me, too. Create an illusion. Make something look spontaneous, but truly taking tons of planning and logistics to pull it off.

Anna: Right.

Dante: What?

Anna: Logistics?

Dante: Yeah. I mean, goes hand in hand with trying to keep your enemy off your trail, right?

Anna: I think I’ve told you everything about the fire, okay? I’m — I’m kind of tired, and right now, I’m homeless, so I’ve got to get over to Metro Court and book a room.

Dante: Well… [stammers] Let me call my mom. She can get you a room.

Anna: No, that’s okay. Thanks. I appreciate it. Um…I got some things to take care of first.

Dante: Hey, um, thanks for coming in.

Anna: Right.

Dante: I’m really sorry for everything that’s happening to you.

Anna: I know. Thank you.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Dante: Yeah. What do you got? Valentin’s car… never made it to the ELQ parking lot? You sure about that?

Ned: Come on, Olivia. Admit it. You think Tracy’s right. I am crazy, and I belong in a loony bin.

Olivia: I never think Tracy’s right, so let’s just get that straight. But you did conk your head pretty hard when you fell there at the pool, and so maybe my knee-jerk reaction was to think that maybe you knocked something loose. But that’s not what I think anymore.

Ned: Thank you for the reassurance. Because I am not that CEO business guy that you say I was, and I’m never going to be.

Olivia: I see that now, and I know that it’s taking me some time to get my head around that, but… I accept that you’re someone else now.

Ned: I’m Eddie Maine.

Olivia: I know, Eddie. And even if I thought that one good jolt of electroshock therapy would — would bring my husband back to me, I could never do that to you.

Ned: Thank you.

Olivia: And another thing — I would never have you committed for being someone new, and — and I give you my word on that. And my word is gold.

Ned: Is that so?

Olivia: Yeah. I’m a Bensonhurst girl. I always keep my word.

Carly: This isn’t about pride, Sonny.

Sonny: All I’m saying is you didn’t have to stay at the PCPD. I was willing to sign you out.

Carly: I can’t let you be my safety net anymore.

Sonny: We’re always gonna be there for each other, Carly.

Carly: And I get that. And throughout the years, no matter where we were with each other, you have always been there to bail me out. And that means more to me than you will ever know. But I can’t let you do it anymore.

Sonny: But last night was different ’cause I didn’t go there to get you, I was there to sign Ned out.

Carly: But I got myself in this situation.

Sonny: Because you were protecting Olivia.

Carly: It doesn’t matter. I’m the one that has to get myself out.

Sonny: But I — if you need me, I’m there.

Carly: Sonny.

Sonny: Okay, I get it. You’re independent. The whole thing. Yeah.

Carly: I’ve always been independent. I just got to the point where I was depending on you for everything, and I have to take care of myself now.

Sonny: Alright. You don’t need my help.

Carly: Yeah. Glad we cleared that up.

Sonny: Good. ‘Cause at the moment, I go– I got — I got a lot going on.

Austin: [ Sighs ] You got me. I am — I’m — I’m all about myself. But, Mason, who isn’t? Right? I-I really want a life for myself. I want a life where I’m not constantly looking over my shoulder. I want a life where you’re never in my office ever again.

Mason: Sadly, it doesn’t work like that.

Betty: As entertaining as this is, I better head to Wyndemere. I want to pick up little Avery and not be late. Ava can breathe fire when she wants to.

Mason: Yeah, go. But please, bring us something on Pikeman from Sonny’s for the boss, okay?

Betty: I don’t plan on leaving there empty-handed.

Mason: That’s my girl.

Austin: One down, one to go.

[ Door closes ]

Mason: Well, we’re not finished.

Austin: W-why does the boss want info on Sonny and Pikeman anyway?

Mason: Honestly, I have no idea. But you know him. He’s not one to explain himself to anyone. But if he wants it, he’s gonna get it.

On the next “General Hospital” —

Curtis (to Portia): It’s too much. I can’t do it.

Molly (to TJ): Here we go. Surrogate candidate number one.

Alexis (to Gregory): I have a lunch date.

Gregory: Me, too.

Chase: Why are you in such a rush?

Brook Lynn (to Nina): Fortunately, you’re right to be concerned.

Dex: I can’t let you go inside.

Sonny (to Ava): This is what you’d call cutting the snake off at the head.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

What the hell? Till death do you part from Doug and Julie Williams. You’re hilarious, Julie.

Good, you’re here. Working late tonight, yeah. Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be on your honeymoon? I should be on my honeymoon, definitely, but it’s kind of difficult to enjoy my newly wedded bliss when the man who tried to kill me is roaming free. So the question is, Melinda… When are you and the newly appointed police commissioner going to do something about it?

So, did Rafe and Jada give you a hard time about being the new commissioner? No, no they didn’t. They actually, they um, need a quick exit upstairs. Anyway, what did Kristen have to say? Oh, well, she was concerned that Rachel and Brady were M. I. A. But, my brother finally arrived and dropped Rachel off at that incident, of course.

Mm, stud. It boggles my mind how he lost custody of her. He must be going out of his mind. Yeah, he is. My dad called too. He’s really worried about Brady’s reaction and just hoping to hell he doesn’t do something rash.

What the same.

What is it? Sander, uh, there’s something I have to tell you.

What is it? Something wrong? I just spoke with the manager at the airfield. Um, Uncle Vic’s plane. Is it delayed? No, it’s not delayed. It’s missing.

What do you mean missing? How could it be missing? The Titan jet was scheduled to arrive an hour ago. But it never landed. What was the last communication from the pilot? No one can reach him. Air traffic control is checking the radar. So far, nothing. No sign of them. How can that be? How can that possi possibly be?

Oh God. Do you think Victor’s plane crashed?

Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

What are you doing here, Lee? I heard you and Stefan finally got hitched. So, um… Brought you a gift. What is it, a bomb? Of course it’s not. You know I would never hurt you. No, just my husband. I told you already, Cabby. But I’ll, I’ll say it again. I had nothing to do with Harris Michael’s attempt on Stefan’s life.

That was Megan Drop the act, Lee. Stefan and I both know that you were involved. And sometime in the not so distant future, we are gonna prove it.

Seven, you know damned well I did my best to put Lee Shin behind bars. But Harris Michaels pointed the finger at Megan DiMera. He says he remembers her and Rolf plotting your death, but not Lee. As far as Michaels is concerned, Lee had zero part in it. Right, except we both know that that is not true. Lee was acting very suspiciously that night.

Kept insisting that his sister Wendy not go to the party because he knew something was going to happen. But where is the proof? Proof? What proof? Everything he did was proof! Stefan, I need a smoking gun. Without it, my hands are tied. Right. Okay, I get that. I do. It’s just…

Is it the lack of evidence? Is that the only reason you’re not going after Lee? Or is it because you’re dating him?

Whoops.

Well, I’m sorry that I left you in here with Jada and Rafe during that. Very awkward moment. Yeah, don’t worry about it. I mean, at least it didn’t go on too long. Yeah, Molly would have come back in sooner, but I ran into Chloe outside. And she had big news. Really? What is it? Your cousin Xander popped the question.

Oh. Wait, hold on, wait, no, he, wait, he proposed? Yep, and apparently it took her by surprise.

Oh no, right? Oh. No, not exactly. Well, she didn’t say yes either, but she did say that she was gonna take time to mull it over. Belle, what in the hell is wrong with her? I mean, no, he’s a menace. He’s a would be killer. I mean, he shot your mother and your brother. Believe me, I told her all of those things. But then Chloe just insisted that, you know, Xander regrets all his past mistakes.

And he’s so remorseful. And he’s a changed man. Ugh. Not to mention, she also said that whether or not she accepts his proposal, that if I want to keep being her friend, I have to accept that Xander is a part of her life. Look, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. Hey, I wasn’t thinking. I just feel the pull between us all the time and I And what, Brady?

We are not together anymore. I know. I’m with Xander. I know, I know you’re with Xander. I ran into Xander and he told me that he proposed to you. He did, yes. He also told me that you haven’t answered him yet, which means to me, there’s still a possibility that I can talk you out of marrying that creep.

Maggie, we shouldn’t jump to conclusions. Look, that’s right. Maybe the plan’s just delayed. You know, for all we know, he could be on his way home as we speak. Well, why can’t they contact the plane? Or he, or locate it? Well, the whole thing’s a little tricky, seeing as Uncle Vic never filed a flight plan. Why?

Why didn’t he? Because he went to visit Bo in an undisclosed location, and he didn’t want to leave a paper trail. In case Megan DeMera was keeping tabs on him. Do you know where Moe is? No, he didn’t say. And, in fact, he didn’t even call me the whole time he was gone. Just to be on the safe side, he said. You know what, uh, I know this is a long shot, but maybe, maybe he’ll pick up.

Moose.

I have to say, that’s disappointing to hear. I was hoping that since now you’re happily married, we could let bygones be bygones. Maybe even be friends. Friends? Like, people who tag each other in photos, who meet up for Sunday brunch? Are you kidding me? Why would I trust you? Well, for one thing, you got married and I didn’t try to stop the wedding.

Or murder the groom. That’s a start. I don’t know what kind of game you’re playing, but I’m having a hard time believing the Mr. Nice Guy act, so you can shove that olive branch where the sun don’t shine and leave me and my husband alone. Oh, I got the message loud and clear when you showed up at my home and proceeded to point a gun in my face.

Oh, I’m glad you finally got the message! Honestly, Gabby, the last thing I want to do is interfere with your happiness. Yeah? Well, the only way I’ll know for sure that you won’t try is when you wake up every single morning to the sound of a nightstick rattling across the bars of your lonely little cell.

I can assure you, that’s not going to happen. Oh, yeah? Why is that? Is it because you’re screwing the DA? How did you know I was seeing Lee? Are you spying on me? No, no. No, I took the more economical route, and I picked up the latest issue of The Spectator, and I read Lady Whistleblower’s Column. Apparently, you and Lee have been seen canoodling all around town.

Oh, I would hardly call it canoodling. I mean, we were set up on a blind date, and believe me, neither one of us were thrilled. That first date was a dumpster fire. Really? What happened? You know what? None of, none of my business. No, no, no, it’s okay. I don’t mind telling you that I tried to trick him into Confessing on tape and we figured it out.

He stormed off Wow so You mentioned a second ago first date. Does that mean there’s a second? Unintentionally, yes, and to my surprise that turned out pretty well So well, in fact, that we planned another. But he skedaddled on me before that even began. And I haven’t heard from him since. Hmm. Believe me when I tell you, you are much better off.

I suppose so. Although, I have to say it was rather nice having my feelings returned for once. Melinda, you know, I think the world of you. Please, spare me. I am in no mood for a pity party. And to answer your not in the least bit inappropriate question from before, no, I am not letting Lee off the hook because, uh, he likes Scandinavian crime dramas as much as I do.

Believe me, there’s no conflict of interest. Great. Then let’s talk about how you’re going to put that psychopath behind bars.

Okay, I’m sorry, but that was way out of line. Xander is not a creep. No, he’s not. You’re right. He’s a man of integrity and extreme character, but he’s also a guy who left you in the clutches of a dangerous drug lord. He also shot me and left me to die. He also shot Marlena at her wedding. I don’t think creep actually describes him.

Okay, okay, I get it. Xander has done some terrible things in the past. He has, but… Guess what? So have I. And so have you, for that matter. What he did to Bonnie and Susan, that doesn’t even categorize as the past, Chloe. And he is filled with regret about that. I’m sure he tosses and turns every night about it.

I have felt his regret firsthand, and trust me, it is genuine. Well, look, I know that he can be stubborn, and arrogant, and impulsive. But I’ve also gotten to know a man who is kind and gentle and who listens. Are you in love with him? I don’t want to be having this conversation with you, Brady. No, it’s a simple question, and the fact that you can’t give me a straight answer means, to me, that whatever you think you have with Xander, it can’t hold a candle to what we once had.

What we once had, it crashed and burned in a pretty spectacular fashion. No, no, no, no, not for me. Not for me. And our chemistry is still there. I feel it. It is palpable. And I know you feel it too. Brady, I can, I can… And even when we just kissed, it was still there. You felt it. It’s always there. It’s always gonna be there.

Chloe Lane, I love you. I’m pretty sure you love me too, so all that’s left to do is for you to tell this guy who has conned his way into making you believe that he has changed and doesn’t deserve one more tender moment with you, much less a lifetime. Just tell him to take a hike, and please, for the love of God, come back to me.

Straight to voicemail. Wait, isn’t it possible that he’s still with Bo and Hope? I mean… Maybe there is an improvement in Bo’s condition, and he just wants to spend more time with his son. Yeah, maybe. Bo might even come out of his coma. Wouldn’t that be something? That would be fantastic. Do you have any way to get a hold of Hope?

Unfortunately, no, I don’t. I don’t have her burner phone number. I know somebody who does, though. Oh, yes. Anyway, enough about everybody else’s drama because we are here to celebrate your big promotion. And my stomach is growling, so maybe we can order. Yeah, yeah, come on, let’s take a look.

Oh, oh, it’s Maggie. I bet this is about Granddad’s homecoming dinner. I, I sort of blew it off. Hey, uh, Maggie, I’m really sorry I couldn’t make it to dinner tonight. Sean! Listen to me. I need you to call your mother right away. Why? What’s going on? Victor, um, is missing.

Well, are you or aren’t you? Not that it’s any of your business. Not to mention, it’s rather crass to inquire about other people’s sex lives. But no, I am not screwing Melinda Trask. Okay, first of all, it’s kind of ironic having a guy who plots murder calling someone crass for asking about their sex life.

Second of all, according to Lady Whistleblower, you’re at the very least canoodling with her. Who uses the word canoodle anymore? Okay, well, are you not romancing the district attorney? Why am I even surprised? Do you think that you’re so good in the sack that she’s just gonna forget to prosecute you? Is that what it is?

You know, that’s not the worst idea. I mean… You never filed any complaints in that department. I was being polite. I didn’t want to bruise your ego. I know that’s not true. But in all seriousness, Gabby, my relationship with Melinda Trask has nothing to do with you or Stefan. I’m just a heartbroken guy trying to move on.

I mean, the whole reason I got a matchmaker in the first place was so that you and I, we don’t have to do this sort of contentious thing anymore. I’m only trying to Okay, spare me your TED talk on your emotional resilience or whatever. I don’t care about your life, so stay the hell out of mine!

Look, I would love to see justice prevail, but again, without evidence, there’s not much I can do. Come on, Melinda. You’re a shark. Where are your fangs? Sharks don’t have fangs. Okay, your teeth. Your long, pointy, sharp teeth. Listen, I know you. And I know the brilliant, resourceful, talented attorney that you are.

I do. And I know that you can find a way to get a conviction even without the solid evidence. You just have to be creative. I am sorry, Stephan, but I am not breaking the law to help you. I’m not asking you to break the law. I’m asking you to do whatever you can within the law to put Lee away in a place where he will not come after me or Gabby ever again.

Has he threatened you lately? No, but I’m sure the news of our recent nuptials will push him over the edge. And I don’t want to spend the rest of our lives looking over our shoulders waiting for the other shoe to drop. Melinda, you don’t want to go to my funeral, do you? That depends. Will it be on a weekend?

Or a weekday?

Hey, Mom, it’s me. Listen, please give me a call back as soon as you get this. Poor Maggie, she must be so worried. Yeah, listen, I, there’s no reason to panic yet. I mean, there’s a million reasons why Victor’s plane could be missing. Okay, yeah, we’ll just keep thinking positively. Yeah, yeah, I just hope that my mom has some answers so I can put Maggie’s mind at ease.

That’s probably her right now. Mom?

Brady, come, come on. We both agreed that our relationship is… It’s over. It’s done. We’re good. We had so many obstacles and nothing has changed about that. Um, it’s not exactly true, Chloe. It’s heartbroken as I am that I lost custody of my daughter. Rachel’s living with Kristen now. So. What are you suggesting?

That you’d date me behind your daughter’s back? My God, Brady, if she found out that you’d kept that a secret, she’d feel so betrayed. She’d feel betrayed no matter what! Well, we maybe met, or… Maybe she would just realize that her father is in love with this wonderful woman, and she’d realize how wonderful you are in time.

And maybe she would even be happy for, for me and us together. That could happen. Brady, you… You are living in a fantasy land. And to be honest, even if Rachel wasn’t a factor, I have moved on with Xander. God,

really? Yeah, really. And you know I will always care about you. But, right now, the man I want to be with is Xander.

Please let Victor be with Bowen, Hope. Please. I’m sure Shawn will call back any minute and let us know. In the meantime, Maggie, why don’t you sit down on the couch and just try and relax?

You know, this is not how I envisioned this night going. It was supposed to be a joyful reunion with all of our family. I mean, sure, I knew there was a more than a decent chance that, that that dinner could turn out to be a big shouting match, but… Ending with Victor throwing his napkin on the table and storming out.

But I was so hopeful. Well, I would have been sorely disappointed if Uncle Vic didn’t call me an idiot at least a couple more times before it was all over. Same here. I was kinda hoping maybe he’d picked up a few new barbs across the pond, you know? I’ve actually come to enjoy his insults. Kind of makes me feel part of the family.

Well, rest assured that there will be plenty of insults to go around once Uncle Vic returns. Especially when he finds out how worried we were for absolutely no reason. Oh my God, we’re not going to hear the end of it. Oh, great. Sean, did you talk to your mom? Uh, I did. Is Victor still with her? Uh, no. No, he’s not.

Oh. Um, well, does she know if Victor’s flight took off late? Um, actually, it’s, um, it’s the opposite. Uh, Victor took off early. As in, um, three days ago. Oh,

beautiful. Who’s that from? My brother, Dario. Wow. Well, that is much nicer than the… 1970s microwave that my long lost cousin sent us. Complete with the meatloaf and frozen peas setting. Ugh. Yeah, well, I’m sorry to report that I donated it to the garbage truck. I’m glad you found a nice home for it. And hey, it’s like someone else, who was very thoughtful, dropped off another one.

Oh, my God. What? Stefan, you need to get rid of that right now.

Ugh, Leo Stark, that guspy little weasel. You know what, I’m gonna take that whistle from him and shove it so far. Melinda. Hi. I’m so glad I ran into you. You are? The way you dashed out of here yesterday, I thought you might be training for the Olympics. Though I do wonder, is being a total jackass considered a sport?

Okay, I get it. I deserve that. But please, let me explain. You don’t have to. I get it. You’re not that into me. I read the book. Actually, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

I don’t get it. If Uncle Vic left three days ago, where has he been all this time? Hope doesn’t know. She, uh, she was sure he was headed home. However, as far as I’m aware, he was, he was always due to return today. So, Victor’s been missing not just one evening, but three whole days? I’m sorry. That’s not helping.

It’s alright. It’s true. It is possible. He probably made a stop somewhere. Well, he probably found a Scotch and a crafts table in Monaco. Even so, wouldn’t he let Maggie know? I mean, I, I understand Victor being tight lipped about Poe’s location with good reason. But if he were flying somewhere, wouldn’t he at least put a quarter in a payphone and give Maggie a head heads?

I’m sorry. I’m making everyone just worry more. I’m… Lonnie. Actually, I couldn’t be more worried than I am right now. It is getting more and more strange, isn’t it? I know what I’ll do. I’ll call Shane at the ISA. Maybe he can find us some answers.

So let me get this straight. Victor left your mom three days ago. Did he say he was coming straight home? I mean, she just assumed that was the case. She said that he was, he was being vague about his plans. And did she say anything else? Anything that would indicate where Victor might have been going? No, no.

She just, she said that he… That he was very, he seemed very distracted. It’s like something was, something was weighing on him. And did she ask him about it? No, no. She said that she, she didn’t want to pry. Interesting. Well, it makes me wonder then, if maybe that had something to do with his disappearance.

Shane said he’ll look into it, but not to expect any answers anytime soon. Well, I guess then there’s no sense in everyone hanging around here. I got it. Mind staying? Keeping you company? No, no, I second that. I’m staying right here with you, Wanda. No, you should both go. I mean, honestly, I have Justin and, and Bonnie here, and I’m all right, really.

You should, you should go, both. You sure? Yeah, yeah, I’m sure. We’ll keep everyone updated, I promise. Hey, I’m sure this is all just a big misunderstanding, yeah?

Uncle Vic’s gonna walk through that door any moment now, I know it. I hope you’re right. Oh, um, earlier you said you had something to tell me. What was it?

Exactly. Are you saying, Chloe, I mean, are you really gonna, are you gonna marry Xander? Marry him? I, I haven’t decided that yet, but… All I know is that we are in a committed relationship, and for now, all I’m willing to offer you is friendship.

Well, um, I guess I’m gonna have to understand, you know what, I’ll try to understand this. Thank you. So, no more impulsive kisses? Aria’s about how you want me to come back to you. I’ll tell you what, I’ll do, I’ll do you one even better. I promise you’re not gonna find me outside your room at 2 in the morning holding a boombox over my head in a trench coat, alright?

If Xander

is what you want, I will try to

accept it. Thank you.

Hey. Friends? Yeah. Friends.

Um, gosh. I don’t remember what I was going to say. Oh, we were just talking about how I’d proposed to Chloe, and I was going on about how I’d moved on, since Sarah had too. I’m just thrown by Sarah’s pregnancy, and her determination to keep it from Xander. My God! He has a right to know that he’s going to be a father.

Um, you know what? It really wasn’t important. We can talk about it some other time. Of course. And please, just let me know as soon as you hear anything about Victor, yeah? Oh, I will. Promise.

Okay, wait, maybe, maybe my grandpa just needed some time to himself before he returned home. I mean, I mean, if his visit with my father had him shaken, which I’m sure that it did, then maybe, maybe he just needed some time to regroup, right? But he’d have to know that Maggie would worry. I mean, if he needed alone time, he, he should have found a way to get in touch with her.

Yeah, well, he’s never been known to be considerate of other people’s feelings. Not even his loved ones. I mean, you, you saw how he blamed me for what happened to my dad. Even though he knew you were already hurting. Yeah, and I haven’t spoken to him for months because of that very reason. But,

I mean, what if, what if something did happen to him? But if something happened to him, I would feel terrible. I mean, what if I never get the chance to work things out with her? Listen, Melinda, before we met up yesterday, I had a long talk with my sister, and she insisted that I couldn’t trust you. What? Why?

Uh, because you secretly tried to get a recorded confession out of me. I, I apologize for that. So, Wendy thought it was possible that you were… Playing some sort of long game. Trying to get close to me, to ensnare me. I’m afraid that once that got into my head, I couldn’t get it out. So, when we met up, I fled, and I admit, it was cowardly, and I’m sorry.

Honestly, uh, I’d like to just wipe this lake clean, get us back on track. So I take it you’re not worried anymore that I’m playing the long game, trying to ensnare you. No, I’m not. Besides, I’m an innocent man. Which means I have nothing to fear from you. Right? Listen, I know you. And I know the brilliant, resourceful, talented attorney that you are.

I do. And I know that you can find a way to get a conviction even without the solid evidence. You just have to be creative. Of course, you have nothing to fear. You see, um, the more we’ve gotten to know each other, the more that I believe in your innocence. But I totally understand if you’d have trouble trusting me.

So I have to ask, are you sure you want to give this another go? rancing the district attorney? I mean, why are you even surprised? Do you think that you’re so good on the side that she’s just going to forget to prosecute you? Is that what it is?

There’s nothing I’d like more.

I can’t believe Lee would have the gall to show up here like that. He said he wanted a fresh start, to be friends. But I know behind the BS talk of a detente is an ulterior motive. Probably wants us to lower our guard so he can drop a bomb on us, maybe even a literal one. Lee may be a homicidal maniac, but he’s not stupid.

He knows that if he gift wrapped a bomb and gave it to us, it’d be traced back to him. Yeah, well, I’d still feel better if you got rid of that thing. What? You’re not at all the least bit curious as to what might be in here? Oh, yeah. Yeah, let’s give in to our curiosity, and then all of a sudden you hear a big, loud bang.

Pull back to see the house in flames, smoke billowing out into the evening sky. Gabby, there’s not a bomb in this box.

See? Tick, tick, tick. You see? I knew it was a bomb. I am still not convinced. Listen, here’s a thought. Let’s just open. Okay, but just in case. I love you and I’ll see you in the afterlife. Ah. See? Would you look at that? It is just a harmless little clock. Okay. Well, it may not be a bond per se, but Li once told me that in Chinese culture, giving a clock as a gift is bad luck.

Really? Yes, really! Essentially, it’s wishing someone dead.

So the word normalcy. Total invention. Coined by Warren G. Harding, 1920. I’ll remember that next time I’m on Jeopardy.

You know, I like this.

That makes both of us.

So I have to address the elephant in the room. I suppose you heard by now that Gabby and Stefan tied the knot. You must have been pretty bummed about that. Yeah, if I’m being honest… There’s a kick in the gut. But, it helps to have a fascinating, gorgeous woman sitting across from me. Well, thank you. And uh, how about you?

I assume there’s still some lingering feelings for Stefan. Stefan who?

I’d like to propose a toast. To us. We may have gone off to a bumpy start. But something tells me we’re going to get it right this time. Actually, let me amend that. Um, to us. And to starting over. And if I may add something. I promise. No more hidden agendas.

As soon as Uncle Vic gets home, we’re gonna have that dinner. And in addition to that, we are all going to make a much bigger effort to get along. Speaking of dinner, Maggie, you must be starving. Why don’t I have Henderson warm up that chicken marsala from the other night? Well, the truth is, I… I don’t have much of an appetite.

In fact, I think I’m gonna go and lie down. Listen, if I somehow manage to fall asleep, you wake me the moment you hear anything, won’t you? Of course. Okay. But I have a feeling by tomorrow morning, Uncle Vic will have marched right through that door.

Why don’t I help you settle in upstairs? No. No, it’s okay, Bonnie. I’m fine. Are you sure? I’m sure.

It’s gonna be okay. Okay. Okay.

Dad, I didn’t want to say anything in front of Monty Mack, but This whole thing does not seem very good at all. Honestly, I don’t know what to think. Right. So I guess now we just… Wait. And pray. Try and stay positive. I will. I will. I’m, uh, I’m gonna go take off, so, um, just please keep me posted if you hear anything at all, all right?

I’ll let you know. Thanks, man. I’ll talk to you in a bit. Good night, Bonnie. Good night, sweetheart.

Honey, this waiting is so hard for you, I know. And Maggie, too. You know, I gotta go check on her, okay?

Shane?

Hello?

Well, I better get the hell out of here before I embarrass myself any further. Well, if you can’t embarrass yourself in front of your friends, what good are they?

Oh, wow. Let me guess. This knight in shining armor rode in to talk you out of accepting my marriage proposal. Actually, you’re right. I tried. You’ll be happy to know. That I failed. Miserably. I’ll see myself out. Wait, wait, wait. There’s, uh, Something you should know. About Victor. Oh, yeah, right. That was, that was the homecoming dinner.

No, that wasn’t one. He’s missing.

Hey, don’t go there. Okay, we don’t even know if anything’s even wrong. So really, there is no sense in torturing yourself over what ifs. Yeah, yeah, you’re right. You’re right. I’m sure Victor’s fine and he’s probably gonna be home any minute. When he is, he and I can sit down and we’ll repair our relationship.

You know, it’s, it’s moments like these when it makes you remember what’s important. Yeah. Instant perspective, right? Yeah. Yeah, exactly. I just hope that we get some answers

soon.

Thank you, Shane. Let me know if you hear anything else. What do you say?

The Coast Guard found wreckage from the Titan jet. It appears to have hung down over the Mediterranean. Oh, my God. What about Victor? No word yet on any survivors. Oh, honey. Oh, honey.

Oh, my God.

[ Relaxing music ]

Finn: Steffy, I’ll make this up to you. And to Kelly, okay? I just– I want us to be a family again. So just, can you please forgive me? Can you forgive me and come home?

[ Liam sighing ]

Liam: Honestly, being a dad I think is the best part of my life. Once in a while, I reflect on how fortunate I am, and even when I’m not with you, I just keep you right here. It’s easy.

Steffy: We feel the same way about you.

Liam: It’s been nice. It’s been really, really nice to spend this time here with you guys. Kelly, daughter of mine, do you know how lucky you are? Do you know what a totally cool, totally loving, totally responsible mother you have? Do you even– do you even know?

[ Liam sighing ]

Brooke: Mm.

Ridge: How do you do that?

Brooke: What?

Ridge: One kiss and all my troubles just melt away.

Brooke: Well, I thought you could use a pick me up.

Ridge: Yeah, you have no idea.

Brooke: So, how was it? I know you went to see Finn earlier.

Ridge: Yeah, I did. How could someone so smart be so reckless with my granddaughter? What happened to him?

Brooke: It is awful, what happened to Kelly, but at least she is okay.

Ridge: She’s okay because of Sheila. I thought we had this woman out of our lives for good, locked up and now– now, she’s back in it. I don’t blame Steffy for taking the kids and leaving, and I made sure Finn knew that as well.

Brooke: So, what did Finn say? I know he’s all about his family.

Ridge: He is. He takes responsibility for what happened with Kelly, but… he doesn’t think Sheila is responsible for what’s happening in his life and in his marriage. He thinks it’s Liam.

Wyatt: Rushmore. It’s today’s puzzle. It’s what you’re doing, aren’t you?

Liam: Oh, uh, no. No, I was actually just checking on Kelly.

Wyatt: Oh. How is my little niece doing?

Liam: Uh, you know, so far so good, although… can’t be too careful with you-know-who on the loose, so.

Wyatt: I still can’t believe that psychopath was out there playing Malibu lifeguard.

Liam: No, let’s– let’s– let’s be honest about this. She was stalking her dear son. And I told Finn, like dude, this is– this is enough. You gotta keep Sheila away from Steffy and the kids.

Wyatt: Wait, you talked to Finn? When?

Liam: Oh, my– I didn’t tell you. No, yeah. He– he paid me a visit. Uh, I am– I am officially on notice now. I am not to interfere in his and Steffy’s marriage.

Finn: This isn’t how it’s supposed to be, after everything that we’ve been through, so please, let’s just go home and we can work on this together. ‘Cause I– I can’t take being apart from you any longer. And look, I understand why you did what you did. I screwed up, but I will never let Sheila near us, Steffy. Tell me that you believe me. Tell me that you’re gonna go get the kids and you’re gonna come home and we can just be a family again.

Brooke: So, after breaking his promise to Steffy and allowing Sheila back into their lives, he blames Liam for the problems in his marriage. Can’t he see that Sheila is the one causing all the problems?

Ridge: Yes, but he also thinks that Liam is undermining his marriage. That he wants to be with her again. That’s why I went to see Liam today.

Brooke: You went to see Liam?

Ridge: I did.

Brooke: Oh.

Ridge: And we talked and we agreed on a lot of things. Steffy taking the kids and getting out of there was the right thing to do because being with Finn was just too dangerous.

Brooke: I think I know why Finn is so upset with Liam. Why he’s blaming him for the separation from Steffy. It’s because Liam is the one who showed Steffy the video of Finn and Sheila hugging outside the judge’s chambers.

Ridge: I’m sure that’s part of it, but there’s more. Um… Finn thinks that Liam is still in love with Steffy, and he’s not wrong.

Wyatt: Okay, back up here. Finn told you not to interfere in his marriage? When? He came by here?

Liam: Yeah, I mean, if you’re implying what I think you are, no punches were thrown.

Wyatt: Ah, damn it.

Liam: Although, honestly, the guy, he really– he wanted to deck me, I could tell. And if I’m being honest, I had to show some restraint too.

Wyatt: Dude, I don’t blame you. I would’ve laid the guy out after what the guy did to Kelly.

Liam: Well, yeah. I mean, it’s his stupidity that almost got my daughter killed.

Wyatt: 100%. I mean, what kind of idiot turns his back on a child at the beach?

Liam: That’s– that’s the thing. Like, you would think, if he were gonna visit me for anything, maybe it would be to apologize for that? But no, it’s just– the whole thing was just stay away from Steffy.

Finn: Look. Everything will be okay, all right? I’ll go pack up the kids’ things and when they come back, we can just go straight home. I’ll– I’ll reach out to– to security, we’ll get more surveillance. When I’m done, our home will be safer than Fort Knox. But most importantly, Steffy, look. I promise you, I will never contact or communicate with Sheila ever again. I just– I love you so much. I will do whatever it takes to bring our family home.

Brooke: Wow. So Liam is in love with Steffy. He actually admitted that to you?

Ridge: I had to find out how he feels about my daughter. The whole world is upside down right now.

Brooke: Completely! The last thing Steffy needs is for Liam to enter her world.

Ridge: I don’t think that’s what he’s trying to do. He’s not trying to interfere in the marriage at all.

Brooke: But…

Ridge: But, he’s also not gonna deny how he feels about Steffy. And I know this is hard for you to hear because of Hope and–

Brooke: Yeah, it’s– it’s all very hard for me to hear.

Ridge: But the bottom line is… Liam loves Steffy.

Wyatt: Stay away from Steffy? Like that’s gonna happen. She’s the mother of your child.

Liam: Exactly. That’s the– I mean, Steffy and I are always gonna be connected through Kelly, which is why I’m not– I’m not going anywhere. But– but Finn’s not wrong that Steffy and I have a history. I don’t think he understands how deep that history runs though and– and–

Wyatt: Right.

Liam: I did tell him that.

Wyatt: You did? To his face?

Liam: Yeah, to his face. Listen, I– you know, when I think about just everything. You know, everything that’s happened, I– obviously, I love Hope, I love the life that we created together, but if I’m being honest with myself… the biggest mistake of my life was walking away from Steffy.

Steffy: Finn, I want you to know how much the kids and I miss you. And I also want you to know that I– I hear you. I do. But this is an extremely difficult situation. Every time I close my eyes, I’m haunted by the thought of Kelly just being swept up by the undertow.

Finn: I know. I know and I– it haunts me too, but Steffy, look. Kelly, she’s okay, right? She’s happy, she’s healthy and she’s surrounded by love and that’s– that’s– honey, that’s all that matters.

Steffy: She’s alive, Finn. Oh, she’s alive because of… Sheila. Because of your birth mother. Ever since our wedding date, she’s been like this dark cloud hanging over us, just causing misery and madness. Even before, when she terrorized my family.

Finn: I know, okay? And I’m sorry for all of that.

Steffy: God, I just– I can’t do it. I can’t– I can’t– I can’t get this image of you hugging Sheila outside the judge’s chambers office. I– I– I just, I can’t. And it just proves that Sheila’s gonna be– she’s gonna be in your life forever. I love you, Finn. I love you so much, but I didn’t want this. I didn’t want to take the kids and come here. I’m sorry. No, I’m sorry. What you’re asking, it’s– I can’t do it. I can’t come home. I can’t put our children in that dangerous environment. I won’t.

Ridge: I know you’re worried about Hope.

Brooke: Yes, and I know you’re worried about your daughter.

Ridge: It’s crazy, right? It’s so ironic that both of our daughters are struggling with their marriages.

Brooke: Despite the fact that Hope and Liam signed divorce papers, I keep hoping that they’re going to find their way through this somehow. But Hope always told me that she felt that Steffy was like the third member of their marriage, and now you’re telling me that Liam has always loved Steffy, so I guess Hope was right all along.

Ridge: No, what I’m telling you is that we can help our kids and that the two of us can do anything together.

Brooke: Oh.

Ridge: And I’m telling you how grateful I am to have my Logan back.

[ Brooke chuckling ]

Ridge: Looking through that keyhole in Rome, I saw my future. It was so crazy. It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

Ridge: Brooke!

Brooke: Ridge.

Ridge: I found you. I don’t wanna spend another day without you.

Ridge: What a waste of money, though. Going all the way to Rome while my destiny was right here in front of me the whole time.

Brooke: Yeah.

Liam: I want you to know that I know I was a fool to let you go, and– and if I ever got a chance at a do over, I wouldn’t make that mistake again. I don’t think I’d ever let you go again.

Steffy: Hi, sweetheart. Did you have fun at the beach?

Kelly: Something happened, Mommy. Something really scary.

Steffy: Oh, really? What happened?

Kelly: I almost drowned.

Steffy: What?

Kelly: Finn’s mom saved me.

Steffy: Li was there?

Kelly: Not Li. Sheila.

Finn: My mother saved Kelly’s life!

Liam: I’m telling you, Finn and Sheila were physically embracing each other. At this point, you don’t know that you can trust Finn to keep you and Kelly and Hayes safe from Sheila.

🎵🎶 I look into the distance and see a great beyond there’s a home with so much promise whose dreams are all but gone not sure how we lost it though some might say just let it be ’cause our lives are meant for someone else and you were never meant for me but I just can’t accept defeat ’cause what we’ve shared ’til now is not complete it should have been forever 🎵🎶

Finn: It’s me! I found you!

🎵🎶 It should have been forever you and me together but you weren’t meant for me so to think the end is near only makes me want you here ’cause I know that we belong but I just can’t accept defeat ’cause what we’ve shared ’til now is not complete to think the end is near only makes me want you here ’cause I know that we belong  🎵🎶

Primetime TV Review: Superfan

TV Review!

“Superfan” Review on by Eva 8/14/2023

Superfan is hosted by Nate Burleson (CBS Morning) and Keltie Knight (E! News correspondent).

The first episode featured Superfans of rapper and actor LL Cool J. The contestants play several different trivia games that test how much they know about LL Cool J and, after each round, one contestant is eliminated. The final round has two contestants, and the winner of the show is chosen by the home audience via Twitter voting. The winner of the show gets a day with LL Cool J in which they get backstage passes to his concert, exclusive concert merchandise, and access to one of his recording sessions. The show will feature different stars over seven of the remainder of its eight-episode first season.

In my opinion the show has a lot of problems, the major one is its too boring and slow. The show would be much better if they would just play trivia games to eliminate contestants and get rid of the Twitter vote at the end, there is no need for it.

The other problem is they have two hosts. This game show doesn’t need two hosts. If you have insomnia this show will put you to sleep. The only thing that I like about this show is that the star that is featured in the episode sings a song.

I give this show a 2 out of 5 you can watch the show on CBS or stream it on Paramount+.

Justin says they are checking the radar but there is no sign of them. Maggie questions how this could be possible and asks if Justin thinks the plane crashed.

Gabi asks what Li is doing at the DiMera Mansion. Li responds that he heard she and Stefan got married, so he brought her a gift. Gabi asks if it’s a bomb. Li says he would never hurt her and repeats that he had nothing to do with Harris Michaels’ attempt on Stefan’s life. Gabi tells him to cut the act as she and Stefan both know he was involved and that they are going to prove it.

Melinda reminds Stefan that she did her best to put Li behind bars but Harris Michaels pointed the finger at Megan as he said he remembered her and Dr. Rolf plotting his death, but not Li. Stefan argues that they both know it’s not true since Li was acting very suspiciously that night and insisting that Wendy not to go their party, because he knew something was going to happen. Melinda questions where the proof is and says without a smoking gun, her hands are tied. Stefan says he gets it and questions the lack of evidence being the only reason she’s not going after Li or if it’s because she’s dating him.

Belle apologizes to Shawn for leaving him with Jada and Rafe during that very awkward moment. Shawn says not to worry about it as it didn’t last long. Belle explains that she would’ve come back in sooner but she ran in to Chloe outside, who had big news. Belle announces that Xander proposed to Chloe which shocks Shawn, who hopes that she didn’t say yes. Belle informs him that Chloe said she is taking time to mull it over. Shawn asks what in the hell is wrong with her. Shawn complains that Xander is a menace and a would-be killer. Belle assures that she told her all those things but Chloe insisted that Xander regrets all his past mistakes and is a changed man. Belle adds that Chloe also said if she wants to keep being her friend, she has to accept Xander as part of her life.

Brady apologizes to Chloe and says he wasn’t thinking as he just feels the pull between them all the time. Chloe reminds him that they are not together anymore and she’s with Xander now. Brady mentions running in to Xander, who told him that he proposed to her which Chloe confirms. Brady adds that he also said Chloe didn’t answer him, so he takes that to mean there’s a possibility he can talk her out of marrying that creep.

Justin tells Maggie that they shouldn’t jump to conclusions. Alex encourages that the plane could just be delayed. Maggie questions being unable to locate the plane. Justin notes it being tricky since Victor didn’t file a flight plan. Bonnie questions why he didn’t. Maggie explains that Victor went to visit Bo in an undisclosed location, so he didn’t want to leave a paper trail in case Megan was keeping tabs on Bo. Maggie adds that Victor never told her where Bo is and didn’t call her while he was gone in order to be on the safe side. Maggie knows it’s a long shot but tries calling Victor.

Li tells Gabi that he’s disappointed as he hoped now that she’s happily married, maybe they could be friends. Gabi asks if he’s kidding and asks why she would trust him. Li points out that she got married and he didn’t try to stop the wedding or murder the groom, so he thinks that’s a start. Gabi questions his nice guy act and tells him to take his olive branch and shove it, then he can leave her and her husband alone. Li responds that he got that message loud and clear when she showed up at his home and waved a gun in his face. Li says the last thing he wants to do is interfere with her happiiness. Gabi says she’ll only know for sure that he won’t try when he’s locked up in prison. Li assures that won’t happen. Gabi asks if that’s because he’s screwing the district attorney.

Melinda questions Stefan knowing that she’s seeing Li and asks if he’s spying on her. Stefan reveals that he read it in Leo’s column in the Spectator. Melinda clarifies that they were set up on a blind date and they were not thrilled. Melinda calls their first date a dumpster fire. Stefan asks what happened so Melinda reveals that she tried to trick Li in to confessing on tape, but he figured it out and stormed off. Stefan points out that Melinda said first date, so he asks if there was a second. Melinda admits it was unexpected but it went well and they planned another but he left before that even began, and she hasn’t heard from him since. Stefan insists that she’s much better off. Melinda remarks that it was rather nice having her feelings returned for once. Stefan assures that he thinks the world of her. Melinda says she’s in no mood for a pity party and she is not letting Li off the hook so there is no conflict of interest. Stefan wants to talk about how she’s going to put that psychopath behind bars then.

Chloe tells Brady that he’s way out of line calling Xander a creep. Brady brings up Xander leaving Chloe with a dangrous drug lord, shooting him and leaving him to die, as well as shooting Marlena at her wedding. Chloe acknowledges that Xander has done some terrible things in the past, but they have too. Brady argues that what he did to Susan and Bonnie isn’t in the past. Chloe insists that she has felt Xander’s regret first hand and she knows it’s genuine. Chloe knows Xander can be stubborn, arrogant, and impulsive but she’s also got to know him as kind and gentle. Brady asks if Chloe is in love with Xander. Chloe doesn’t want to have this conversation with him. Brady calls it a simple question and Chloe not giving him a straight answer tells him that what she has with Xander can’t hold a candle to what they once had. Chloe complains that what they had crashed and burned in spectacular fashion. Brady argues that their chemistry is still there and always will be. Brady tells Chloe that he loves her and he’s pretty sure she loves him too, so all that’s left to do is for her to tell Xander to take a hike and come back to him.

Maggie tried calling Victor but it went straight to voicemail. Xander suggests maybe he’s still with Bo and Hope. Bonnie asks if there’s any way to get a hold of Hope. Maggie says she doesn’t have her burner phone’s number, but she knows somebody who does.

Belle tells Shawn that’s enough about everybody else’s drama since they are here to celebrate Shawn’s big promotion. Shawn then gets a call from Maggie and bets it’s about Victor’s homecoming dinner which he sort of blew off. Shawn answers the call and says he’s sorry he couldn’t make it to dinner tonight. Maggie says she needs him to call Hope right away. Shawn asks what’s going on. Maggie informs him that Victor is missing.

Li tells Gabi that it’s crass to inquire about other people’s sex lives, but says he is not screwing Melinda Trask. Gabi brings up Leo’s column in the Spectator and asks if he’s romancing the district attorney or not and if he thinks he’ll be so good in the sack that Melinda will forget to prosecute him. Li jokes that’s not a bad idea and that Gabi never had any complaints in that department. Gabi remarks that she was being polite because she didn’t want to bruise his ego. Li knows that’s not true but says his relationship with Melinda has nothing to do with Gabi or Stefan. Li states that he’s just a heartbroken guy trying to move on and that he got a matchmaker so they don’t have to do this whole thing anymore. Gabi doesn’t care about his life and tells him to stay out of her life as she slams the door in his face.

Melinda tells Stefan that she would love to see justice prevail but without evidence, there’s not much she can do. Stefan argues that she’s a shark and he knows how brilliant, resourceful, and talented she is. Stefan believes she can get the conviction without the evidence and she just has to be creative. Melinda responds that she’s not breaking the law to help him. Stefan responds that he’s asking her to do whatever she can within the law to lock Li up so he can never come after he or Gabi again. Melinda questions if Li has threatened them lately. Stefan says no but he’s sure the news of their wedding will push him over the edge and he doesn’t want to spend the rest of their lives looking over their shoulder. Stefan asks if Melinda wants to go to his funeral. Melinda jokes that it depends if it’s on a weekend or weekday.

Shawn calls Hope and leaves a message to get back to him. Belle worries about Maggie. Shawn encourages that there’s no reason to panic yet as there are plenty of reasons Victor’s plane could be missing. Belle agrees with thinking positively. Shawn hopes that Hope has some answers so he can put Maggie’s mind at ease. Shawn then gets a call and assumes it’s Hope.

Chloe reminds Brady that they both agreed their relationship is over and done. Chloe says they are good and they had so many obstacles which nothing has changed. Brady points out that Rachel is living with Kristen now. Chloe asks if he’s suggesting he take her behind his daughter’s back. Chloe insists that Rachel would feel so betrayed. Brady would suggest that Rachel would realize he’s in love and even be happy for them. Chloe feels he’s living in a fantasy land. Chloe adds that even if Rachel wasn’t a factor, she has moved on with Xander. Chloe says she will always care about Brady, but right now, the man she wants to be with is Xander.

Maggie prays for Victor to be with Bo and Hope. Justin assures that Shawn will call back any minute to let them know. Justin encourages Maggie to try to relax. Maggie says this is not how she envisioned this night going as it was supposed to be a joyful reunion with all of their family. Maggie knew the dinner could turn in to a big shouting match ending with Victor storming out, but she was so hopeful. Alex jokes that he would be disappointed if Victor didn’t call him an idiot a few more times. Xander relates and Bonnie jokes that she came to enjoy Victor’s insults as it made her feel like part of the family. Justin encourages that there will be plenty of insults to go around when Victor returns, especially when he finds out they were worried for no reason. Maggie then gets a call back from Shawn and asks if Victor is still with Hope. Shawn reveals that he is not. Maggie asks if Hope knew if Victor’s flight took off late. Shawn responds that it’s actually the opposite and that Victor took off early, three days ago.

Stefan goes home to Gabi, who resumed opening their wedding gifts. Stefan mentions finding another gift at the door, which Gabi says he needs to get rid of right now.

Li finds Melinda at the bar and says he’s so glad he ran in to her. Melinda jokes about him dashing out on their last date. Li asks to explain but Melinda assumes he’s just not that in to her. Li states that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Alex questions where Victor has been if he left three days ago. Maggie says Hope didn’t know and assumed he was headed home. Bonnie questions Victor being missing for three whole days. Justin guesses he made a stop somewhere. Bonnie questions not letting Maggie know if he was flying somewhere. Bonnie then apologizes for making everyone worry more. Maggie responds that she couldn’t be more worried than she is now. Justin decides to call Shane at the ISA as maybe he can find them some answers.

Belle questions Shawn about Victor leaving Hope three days ago. Shawn says that Hope said Victor was being vague about his plans, so she just assumed he was heading home. Shawn adds that Hope said Victor seemed distracted, like something was weighing on him. Belle wonders if that had something to do with his disappearance.

Justin says that Shane said he’d look into it, but not to expect any answers anytime soon. Maggie doesn’t think there’s any reason for everyone to stick around then. Alex and Xander both offer to stick around but Maggie assures that she’ll be alright with Bonnie and Justin, so they should go. Maggie promises to keep everyone up to date. Xander encourages that it’s just a misunderstanding and that Victor will be home any moment. Maggie hopes he’s right. Xander remembers that Maggie said she had something to tell him earlier, so he asks what it was.

Brady questions is Chloe is really going to marry Xander. Chloe responds that she hasn’t decided that yet, but they are in a committed relationship, so for now, she’s only willing to offer Brady friendship. Brady agrees to try to understand this. Chloe thanks him and says no more impulsive kisses or wanting her to come back to him. Brady promises she won’t find him outside her room at 2 AM. Brady declares that if Xander is what she wants, he will try to accept that. Chloe thanks him as they shake hands and agree to be friends.

Maggie claims to Xander that she doesn’t remember what she was going to say. Xander reminds her that he was talking about marrying Chloe and moving on like Sarah had. Maggie thinks back to talking to Bonnie about Xander having a right to know that he’s going to be a father. Maggie then claims to Xander that it wasn’t important and they can talk about it some other time. Xander tells her to let her know as soon as she hears anything about Victor. Maggie promises to do so as Xander hugs her.

Shawn suggests maybe Victor just needed time to himself before returning home. Belle says he would have to know that Maggie would worry. Shawn notes that Victor has never been known to be considerate of other peoples’ feelings. Shawn points out that Victor blamed him for what happened to Bo and he hasn’t spoken to him for months because of that. Shawn wonders if something happened to Victor and says he would feel terrible, worrying about if he never gets a chance to work things out with him.

Li explains to Melinda that before they met up the last time, he had a long talk with his sister Wendy, who convinced him that he couldn’t trust her after she tried to record him. Li admits that got in to his head and he couldn’t get it out, so when they met up, he fled. Li admits it was cowardly and he’s sorry. Li says he’d like to wipe the slate clean and get back on track. Melinda asks if he’s not worried anymore that she’s trying to ensnare him. Li confirms he’s not and repeats that he’s an innocent man which means he has nothing to fear from her. Melinda thinks back to Stefan urging her to convict Li. Melinda then tells Li that he has nothing to fear as the more they’ve gotten to know each other, the more she believes in his innocence but she understands if he’d have trouble believing her. Melinda asks if Li is sure he wants to give this another go. Li thinks back to his argument with Gabi earlier and then responds that there’s nothing he would like more.

Stefan can’t believe Li would show up like that. Gabi explains that Li wanted a fresh start and to be friends, but says that Li probably wanted to drop a bomb on them. Stefan says Li wouldn’t be stupid enough to gift wrap a bomb to them, knowing it would be traced back to him. Gabi still wants Stefan to get rid of it. Stefan questions if she’s not the least bit curious as to what might be in it. Gabi mocks the idea of giving in to their curiosity and then see the house in flames. Stefan assures there’s not a bomb in the box. Stefan then shakes it and they begin to hear ticking inside the box. Gabi argues that it’s a bomb but Stefan is still not convinced. Stefan opens the gift and it’s a clock. Gabi brings up that Li once told her that in Chinese culture, giving a clock as a gift is bad luck and is essentially wishing someone dead.

Melinda and Li talk about enjoying their date. Melinda brings up Stefan and Gabi’s wedding, guessing he must be a bit bummed by that. Li admits that it was a kick in the gut but says it helps to have a fascinating, gorgeous woman sitting across from him. Li asks if Melinda still has some lingering feelings for Stefan, but Melinda asks Stefan who? Li then toasts to them getting it right this time and starting over. Melinda promises no more hidden agendas.

Xander tells Maggie that as soon as Victor gets home, they will have that dinner and will make a much bigger effort to get along. Bonnie points out that Maggie must be starving but Maggie says she doesn’t have much of an appetite and is going to lay down. Maggie asks them to wake her up if they hear anything. Justin feels by tomorrow morning, Victor will have come home. Bonnie offers to help Maggie settle in upstairs but she insists that she’s fine. Bonnie hugs Maggie and tells her it will be okay. Maggie then heads upstairs. Alex tells Justin that he didn’t want to say anything in front of Maggie, but this whole thing doesn’t sound very good at all. Justin admits he doesn’t know what to think. Alex guesses now they just wait. Justin encourages him to pray and try to stay positive. Alex says to keep him posted as they hug. Alex then exits. Bonnie knows waiting is so hard for Justin and says she will go check on Maggie but Justin gets a call back from Shane.

Brady tells Chloe that he better get out of here before he embarrasses himself further. Xander then comes home and guesses Brady rode in to talk Chloe out of accepting his marriage proposal. Brady admits that he tried but that Xander will be happy to know that he failed miserably. Brady says he’ll see himself out but Xander says there’s something he should know about Victor. Brady asks about the homecoming dinner but Xander reveals there wasn’t one as Victor is missing.

Belle encourages Shawn not to go there because they don’t even know if something’s wrong, so there’s no point in torturing himself. Shawn agrees that Victor could be home any minute and when he is, they can sit down and repair their relationship. Shawn says moments like this make you realize what’s important. Shawn hopes they get some answers soon.

Justin thanks Shane and says to let him know if he hears anything else as they hang up. Bonnie asks what he said. Justin informs her that the coast guard found wreckage from the Titan jet which appears to have gone down over the Mediterranean. Bonnie asks about Victor. Justin says there’s no word on any survivors. Bonnie hugs Justin as they are in disbelief.

Recap written by Terry

Ashley and Tucker were married. A doubtful Abby walked her mother down the aisle. Earlier she noticed Ashley looked deep in thought and told Ashley she did not have to go through with the wedding. Ashley chalked it up to a bride’s nerves. Once she and Tucker were married, Jack presented Ashley with documents that returned her own company’s assets back to her. Jack said he wanted to do so to end the war between them.

Tucker appeared eager to marry Ashley again, but earlier Victor told Tucker that Ashley was marrying Tucker to get control of Jabot from Jack and that Tucker was just along for the ride. Tucker responded that Victor may be right or he may be wrong.

Victor said he knew about the company Tucker and Ashley bought in Europe and it could be a foundation for a new business. Tucker remarked that he thought he and Ashley had kept that a well concealed secret.

That evening at the ranch Victor and Nikki discussed the motives of Audra and Nate,  who were both promoting the merger of Newman Media with Adustus. Nikki informed Victor that Audra visited her and Nikki suspected Audra is planning something with Nate. Audra later joined Nikki and Victor at the ranch and said she wanted to explain why she is promoting the merger.  The visit raised suspicion, and Victor later told Nikki that Adam is behind Audra’s and Nate’s desire to have Adustus and Newman Media merge.

Earlier, Audra and Kyle formed a plan to get Audra out from under Adam’s control. Audra told Kyle about the top secret mess she had to clean up for Tucker, but now Adam Newman knew about it and was blackmailing her. Adam wants Newman Media back and even though she would lose her job if the merger was successful, Audra had to do Adam’s bidding.

Sharon: Oh, my gosh. Thank you for bringing aria by. I swear she has gotten bigger since the last time I saw her.

Mariah: Since yesterday?

Sharon: Well, babies change quickly.

Tessa: If you’re trying to imply that you want to see aria every day, message received.

Mariah: The only way to get her to settle down is by driving her around now. So, once she was conked out, we figured we would risk it and come grab a cup of coffee, and also, check in on you.

Tessa: But everyone needs to stay quiet, so she’ll stay asleep.

*****************************

Mariah: That is a very good point. I mean, Sharon and Nick, great. Sharon, nick and Adam? Maybe not so great. And once upon a time, Adam was obsessed with Sharon and now I guess it– it’s sally, but who knows what’s next for that guy?

[ Both laughing ] But on the flip side, how stressful and uncomfortable is it gonna get at Jabot?

Tessa: Hmm. I know that you want to look at every angle, assess every risk, but you’re not gonna have complete information to make this decision. You’re gonna have to trust your judgment. What do you think will give you the best chance at success and happiness?

Best Lines provided by Eva

Adam: It feels like a mistake because she brings out the best part of me. I mean, isn’t that a good thing? That I want to be a better person? Isn’t that what everybody wants me to do?

Sharon: Adam, you see yourself as this dark and broken person, but you know, you’re a better man than you were and Sally had nothing to do with that. She saw that in you. Sally is with Nick now. She’s recovering from her terrible loss with his support. Now, there is support for you too, if you want to take it, but hanging on to a love that has no chance is only gonna hurt you more.

Adam: Sally and I, we belong together. What we shared, it was real and it was powerful. The only reason that she’s even with Nick is because she thinks he’s a safer choice. It’s not because they’re actually in love, Sharon.

Sharon: That sounds like wishful thinking. You don’t get to decide what’s in Sally’s heart or in Nick’s.

Adam: [ Scoffing ] Sharon, the whole town knows that Nick still loves you. You’re his one true love. I mean, if– if he would just see that and embrace it, everything would just fall into place.

Sharon: Okay, what is that supposed to mean?

Adam: What are you talking about? Am I wrong?

Sharon: Um, if this is the way that you see Nicholas and me, how are we supposed to work together? This company means a lot to me, Adam. It’s very important. I am ready to create something extraordinary and I would like to do so with you and Nick, but maybe we do need to reconsider things because frankly, we have all been through hell recently. All three of us and Nick and I are ready to move forward. How about you?

*****””””*****************************************

Adam:  sorry. That was my mistake. I actually should have never pushed you into talking about what is bothering you. You are entitled to your feelings. But if that ends up impacting this partnership, it is going to be a problem. It’s time to move forward and focus on our own lives.

[ Adam sighing ]

Sally: I don’t get it. Why aren’t you as excited about this as I am?

Chloe: Um, because I’m not new in town. Because I have actual brain cells that are connected. Because this is victor Newman that we’re talking about.

Sally: Exactly. Victor Newman has offered us a contract to head up a whole new design division at Newman Enterprises. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Chloe: So, you think accepting an offer from victor is a good idea, but letting nick back us with no strings attached isn’t?

Sally: Okay, Chloe, we’ve already been over this. My relationship with nick is far too important to let money get involved. It will muddy things and I’m not willing to run that risk. But this thing with victor, it’s clean.

************************************

Nikki: I trust my son’s instincts, and they are telling him that you have a hidden agenda. Now, if that turns out to be true, consider yourself forewarned. It will never come to fruition.

Nate: You have my word, Nikki.

Nikki: Newman enterprises has survived much more dangerous threats than any self-serving game plan that you could come up with. Actually, it’s very simple. The house always wins. Am I making myself clear?

Nate: Crystal.

Nikki: I’ll tell you what. I have a quick meeting outside of the office. Why don’t you meet me at the athletic club? With Victoria in Madrid, it’s a perfect opportunity for us to sit down, just the two of us, and you can tell me how you see your future at Newman
