Interview with Lisa Berry, Rainbow Sun Francks, Henderson Wade and Humberly González of “Fallen Angels Murder Club” movies on Lifetime by Suzanne 3/22/22

It was great to have a Zoom press call with these actors. “Fallen Angels Murder Club: Friends to Die For” airs Saturday, 4/2 and “Fallen Angels Murder Club: Heroes and Felons” airs next Saturday, 4/9.  The movies star singer/actress Toni Braxton, who was not in attendance.  Eddie Cibrian also stars in the first movie (SPOILER: I believe he’s the murder victim). I really wanted to ask Rainbow a question, but unfortunately, he arrived late and had to leave early. It was kind of amusing because when the conference started, he was on the subway, which we could see from his video.  Then he was in his apartment for awhile, and then he was gone again!  The main reason I wanted to speak with him because he was so great in “Stargate: Atlantis.” However, I was even happier to speak with Lisa Berry, who is the second lead in the series, and the others. She starred as Billie in “Supernatural,” so it was really great to interview her. I hope you can enjoy both movies, which are murder mysteries. More details about them below.

Here’s our interview with Lisa! We’ll have more videos soon as well as the transcript…

[ Door opens ]

Diane: You came back.

Jack: I have no desire to be here. But it’s pretty obvious you’re not gonna let this go till you say what you have to say. Say it.

Diane: I know you’re angry and confused —

Jack: No, I’m a lot more than angry.

Diane: But there’s a reason for all of it.

Jack: A reason you dragged my grieving granddaughter into your little game? By the way, that’s over. She is off limits. This is between you and me. No one else. No one.

Phyllis: Hey, jack. It’s me. Um, I just wanted to know how you were doing. Um…you know, I know it’s pretty emotional for you, getting together with allie. Um…I just know it’s complicated. You know, there’s a lot going on. So, anyway, um, I just wanted you to know that I am here for you. Whatever you need, I am here for you. You can call anytime. And I really mean that — anytime, um, day or night. Don’t even worry about the time difference. Um, okay, I’ll talk to you later.

[ Cellphone thuds ]

Diane: My contact with allie was never about deception. It was about reaching out. Trying to give you back something that you didn’t even know you’d lost.

Jack: I hope you don’t expect her to thank you.

Diane: But what about you? I know you’re grateful.

Jack: Oh, is that what you want? A thank-you? Thank you, diane. Are we done here?

Diane: I’m trying to make amends.

Jack: To me. Not to the people you hurt. The people you used and exploited. The people accused of your murder. All you left in your wake was heartache and fear and anger. Some of us got over it. Others? Like kyle? You stole from him something he can never get back. [ Gasps ]

Jack: Can I get you anything at all?

Kyle: Yeah. My mom.

Jack: Look, I know you didn’t want to talk about it on the plane.

Kyle: Talking won’t bring her back.

Jack: Try to remember something, okay?

Kyle: Okay, what?

Jack: Your mother loved you more than anything in the world. You were her whole life, the best part of her, she used to say. And there is nothing she wouldn’t have done for you.

Jack: Your tore that little boy’s heart out. And for that, I will never forgive you.

Diane: You may not forgive me, but maybe, if you listen, you’ll finally understand.

Lauren: Hi.

Phyllis: Hey! How are you doing?

Lauren: Uh, I’m good, except that I need a massage, or maybe even a manicure, anything that the escape club could cook up to help me forget about the outside world.

Phyllis: Are you okay?

Lauren: I’m, uh — I’m going through something. Um, but I just — I need to relax.

Phyllis: Oh, alright. Well, I’ll book a massage for you if that’s what you want, but I have a better idea.

Lauren: Oh?

Phyllis: Yeah.

Lauren: I’m open to anything.

Phyllis: Want to talk to a friend?

Lauren: I would love to talk to my friend, but I don’t want to interfere in your work.

Phyllis: Oh, you’re not doing that. I could use a chat.

Jack: Well, you wanted this, so let’s hear it. Tell me why you shredded genoa city and our son’s life.

Diane: [ Sighs ] If there had been another way —

Jack: Than faking your own death? Oh, I guess there was no other option.

Diane: You’re right. I did enormous damage, with too many threats, and just as many schemes. I mean, victor hated me by then. And nikki and phyllis, tucker, ashley — I had wronged them all, one way or another. The walls were closing in, and so I made a plan. I would fake my own death and take kyle far away. Only none of it happened as planned. I mean, everyone was angry. Everyone wanted me gone. I mean, in the end, I was just desperation and panic. And I needed help, and [Sighs] Deacon sharpe gave it to me.

Jack: Oh, dear god.

Diane: A corpse from the morgue created the illusion. And limiting the people who saw me dead was key. And paying off anyone who could reveal the truth completed the effect. But when it was time, I couldn’t meet up with kyle. I knew that we would never outrun you, and I just — I — I couldn’t do that to him.

[ Voice breaking ] Having the world hate me was hard. But leaving kyle was soul-crushing, jack. I was so broken and I felt so worthless. And…well, then I just convinced myself that he was better off without me. You know, my — my only solace was he had a father who would love and protect him. Jack, I knew you would do whatever you could for him. And he was safe and loved with you. And I had nothing, and I had no one. And so I came west.

Jack: You ran away.

Diane: I did.

Jack: You didn’t take responsibility. You didn’t face the people that you abused.

Diane: Everybody wanted me gone, jack. I mean, I was truly hated, and — and, in time, I hated myself. I mean, all the self-loathing and — and the guilt and the shame. And [Exhales sharply] I thought, “why not? You know, the whole world thinks you’re dead. Why don’t you just give them what they want?”

Jack: So it was self-pity that motivated you, not caring about anyone else.

Diane: Fair enough. So, I — [ Chuckles ] I finally went to therapy. And I had to look at what I had done and why I had done it. And it took me years to come to terms with who I’d been, but who I wanted to be. But always, always, I held kyle in my heart. Any glimpse I saw of him on the internet — I mean, those were moments of pure joy. He was so beautiful and smart and strong. And, jack, it was obvious. You had made him into such a wonderful man. He’s got college, a career, maybe some heartbreak. But now he’s in milan with a wife and child. Jack, we’re grandparents.

Jack: We are nothing. You are kyle’s late mother. That’s what you chose.

Diane: Yes, and for many years that was the kindest thing I could do for him. I mean, to not burden him with my chaos. And — and — and, what, going back, admitting to him that I’d faked my death? I mean, how could I do that to him? How could I just upturn his life again?

Jack: Exactly. It is the one decent thing you did in this whole marvelous journey of self-discovery. Good for you. Congratulations. But we both know there’s more. What is it you want, diane? Attention? Absolution? Money? All three? Just tell me what you’re after so we can be done with this.

[Music: Sung by craig robinson]

Lauren: So, when michael retired from the da’s office, it was, you know, so we could spend more time together.

Phyllis: Mm.

Lauren: So he could have this quieter, simpler life.

Phyllis: And he worked for victor newman. Wow.

Lauren: [ Laughs ] Right. Exactly my reaction. Um, so he said not to worry, it’s not gonna interfere with our time together and he’s gonna make his own hours. And it’s not gonna be dangerous or risky.

Phyllis: What does victor have him doing?

Lauren: I can’t exactly get into specifics.

Phyllis: Ah.

Lauren: But let’s just say that a very routine assignment was anything but that. I went days without hearing from him.

Phyllis: Really? So he thinks it’s a wild adventure, and you’re just worried sick, right?

Lauren: Right. That’s why I’m so frustrated. How do I fight it? Do I just accept this new unpredictable lifestyle of his?

Phyllis: I mean, why is it that the thing that we love about someone is also the thing that just drives us crazy and makes us worry about them?

Lauren: [ Chuckles ]

Diane: You have no good memories of us? None at all? Because I do. From the very beginning. Of course I had my heart broken more than once. But it was worth it just to be in your life.

Jack: That was decades ago, diane. If you’re still holding on to that, I can’t help you. There was far more bad than good. Mountains of bad.

Jack: Diane, I don’t know what part of your little 12-step program I am.

Diane: As I said, I was passing through town. I happened to run into a man i was engaged to once, and i decided to speak from the heart.

Jack: Well, if you’re expecting the same thing from me, sorry. I’ve been there and done that.

Diane: No regrets?

Jack: None.

Diane: You mentioned you were talking about me this morning.

Jack: Yeah. To phyllis. She found an old set of plans you drew up for our dream house.

Diane: And you kept them all this time? How sweet.

Jack: I tore them this morning.

Diane: Oh.

Jack: I told phyllis all about our little “fiasco.” How while you were drawing up those plans, you were also starting a relationship with victor newman. How our entire relationship was a waste of time.

Diane: Ouch. That hurts.

Jack: You’re looking prosperous. Obviously, you’re doing well.

Diane: Yes, I am, thank you.

Jack: Good. I hate to kick someone while they’re down.

Diane: [ Scoffs ] Someplace you need to be?

Jack: Yep.

[ Dishware clatters ]

Diane: Do you have any parting words for an old flame?

Jack: As a matter of fact, I do. I’ve come to realize over time that victor newman did me a favor. Taking you off my hands. In fact, it’s the only nice thing he’s ever done for me. Goodbye, diane. Have a nice life.

Diane: Maybe we were too much alike. But the spark was addictive. Well, for me at least. And there was love.

Diane: [ Exhales sharply ] I can’t believe it.

Jack: What, something wrong?

Diane: It’s — it’s — oh, my gosh. Oh.

[ Sighs ] It’s a beautiful diamond engagement ring.

Jack: I love you. Please say you’ll be my bride. Here. Let’s see what a little champagne will do to add sparkle to a diamond. Here. Say you’ll be my wife. Make me the happiest man on the planet.

Diane: I loved you, jack. And I know there was a time that you loved me, too.

Jack: That died before you did. There’s no whipping up nostalgia. There’s no “good old times.” Any warm or even neutral feelings I had for you are gone. Obliterated by this latest stunt.

Diane: Stunt? I brought allie into your life. And more importantly, I brought kyle into this world. No matter what, that connects us. And I know that means something to you, too.

Lauren: And why do I feel like we’re not talking about michael anymore? Are you worried about jack?

Phyllis: Why do you think I’m worried about jack?

Lauren: Because I’ve heard you talk about him for months, and whatever’s going on with him must be pretty significant. And don’t deny it. You said you needed to talk to a friend as much as I did.

Phyllis: Well, it’s not a big deal. Really. I wasn’t worried about him. But now I’m wondering if i should be.

Jack: Yes, bringing kyle into this world is the one good thing you ever did. What about now, diane? Keemo. Allie. The mysterious texts. Hell, you bought this entire house just to talk to me. Think about that. Think about how absurd that sounds. The money, the time. The pretense. Does that sounds normal to you?

Diane: My thought was, it’s time. I have faced my mistakes. I’ve accepted the past, and i have done the work. The old diane truly is dead. And it is time to make amends.

Jack: I’m afraid there’s more than just me.

Diane: Yes, there are many others.

Jack: Yes. Who have gotten on with their lives without knowing you are a changed woman.

Diane: When keemo died, you lost any chance at being part of his life. And then I guided you to allie. The granddaughter you would have never have known otherwise. Because I know that family means the world to you, jack. Just as it does to me. [ Sighs ] So, all I’m asking is —

Jack: You want me to help you connect to kyle.

Jack: And there it is. The demand.

Diane: A request. That you of all people should understand. How could I not want to reconnect with my son?

Jack: You just said yourself you are toxic!

Diane: In the past, yes. Absolutely. But not now.

Jack: Now? You manipulated allie. You deceived me. Sent me mysterious texts so I’d find my son’s obituary. In what world is that reformed?!

Diane: I protected kyle by leaving. I did what was best for his sake. But he’s a grown man now. He’s a father. He — he knows how deep a parent’s love goes. Jack, he’s in a better place to understand my love for him. And I’m in a better, stronger place. I could be a healthy presence in his life. Oh, come on. You can’t tell me you don’t remember those moments when we’d look at that little boy and we marveled at how perfect anything could be.

Jack: I remember a lot, diane. I remember how hard you worked to keep my son from me. Shipping him off to switzerland, changing his name so I couldn’t find him. Timothy, wasn’t it?

Diane: Okay, that was when i was spinning out, and I regret every moment. But I have changed.

Jack: So you’ve said.

Diane: So have you jack, so don’t pretend it’s not possible. You were so cold and — and callous in the past. You were using people. Vindictive. Focused on revenge. But you’re not that person anymore. So why is it so impossible to believe that the same thing couldn’t happen for me?

Lauren: Jack is my friend, too. If there’s something to worry about, I would like to know.

Phyllis: Well, it’s not my news to share.

[ Footsteps passing ] He’s in los angeles dealing with something from his past. Oh, I shouldn’t have said that! Why’d I say that? It’s not my news to share. Don’t be concerned. I encouraged him to go.

Lauren: Alright, so then why are you stressing out about it? Are — are you having second thoughts?

Phyllis: Well, no, I’m not. I just — I’m worried about him. I — I should have gone with him. I’m worried about him facing this alone.

Diane: Kyle is my son.

Jack: You said yourself he’s a grown man. He has built a wonderful life with his family. You think I’m gonna let you destroy that? Poison his life in italy? No. Never. So you go back to your new and improved life. I’ll go back to genoa city and forget this ever happened.

Diane: But you won’T. You can’T. That’s not the man you are, jack. You love kyle with your whole heart. And half of him is me.

Jack: He grieved, diane.

Diane: [ Exhales sharply ]

Jack: Cried himself to sleep night after night. His mother died. She was killed. He was lost, confused. Heartbroken. He had his mother ripped from his life. I know this because I was there. I held him. I tried to comfort him by telling him it wouldn’t always hurt so much, that I would always be there to protect him. Why would I stop doing that now?!

Diane: Our son needs me in his life. He deserves his mother.

Jack: A real mother. Not you.

Diane: [ Scoffs ]

Jack: And you sure as hell don’t deserve him.

Diane: [ Sighs ]

Jack: Goodbye, diane.

[ Door opens ]

Diane: [ Breathes deeply ]

[ Exhales heavily ] Charmin ultra soft has so much cushiony softness,

“The young and the restless”

will continue. Be ready for whatever life throws your way.

Jack: You’re not really worried that I have feelings for diane jenkins?

Phyllis: No, because I know you’re in love with me.

Jack: That’s right. Body and soul.

Phyllis: Yet you chose to get involved with this woman again and again?

Jack: My history with diane goes way back. I met her when she was a model at jabot. Hell, I should’ve learned my lesson then and gotten her the hell out of my life.

Phyllis: But you didn’T.

Jack: No, I didn’T. She came back into town, and I got sucked right back in. And that, of course, is when i got my comeuppance from victor newman. Actually, I should be thanking the mustache. He did finally get diane out of my life once and for all.

Phyllis: And victor got his own comeuppance.

Jack: Oh, you mean the ugly divorce. Yeah. The final blow came when diane found out that, uh, the baby she was carrying wasn’t victor’s, as she had insisted it was.

Phyllis: That’s when she split out of town.

Jack: Yep. Any trace of diane jenkins is out of my life forever.

Jack: Diane’s son kyle… is my child.

Phyllis: How?

Jack: You know the circumstances surrounding how she got pregnant.

Phyllis: Yeah, I do. I know that she stole sperm from a reproductive lab.

Jack: Okay, what — what — what you don’t is that a couple of years ago I had a testicular cancer scare. My doctor suggested as a precaution, I leave a sample at robertson reproduction labs. It turns out now that victor’s swimmers were switched with mine. And the mystery father is yours truly.

Phyllis: Nikki is responsible for the switch.

Jack: Nikki is not responsible for this.

Phyllis: Yes. Right. Right.

Jack: Nikki never even met the man that switched the samples.

Phyllis: So, what are you telling me? It’s a coincidence?

Jack: Yes. Yes.

Phyllis: Bull. It’s not a coincidence. Give me a break. Nikki is responsible for this. Or maybe diane. I mean, we both know that she has a thing for you. Somebody is responsible for this, jack.

Jack: Listen to me. Nikki would never do anything consciously to mess me up.

Phyllis: What about diane?

Jack: Diane — if she had known, why would she leave the country for a year? Why would she go through the public humiliation she went through with victor? She could have come to me. You and I weren’t together then. Besides, I’ve seen diane. She’s as messed up by all this as I am.

Phyllis: Oh, I’m sure she is. Oh, I’m sure she’s so messed up. Jack, this is absolutely unbelievable.

Jack: Phyllis, I need desperately for you to understand this.

Phyllis: Oh, god. You know what? Yeah, I understand all of this. But you know what I don’t understand, is if you and diane just found out about this, what is she gonna do? Just give up her kid to you and me and go merrily back to milan? Is that the story?

Jack: Not exactly.

Phyllis: Not exactly. Right. Wow. There’s that phrase again. Don’t you tell me that you’re thinking of going to court over this. Don’t you dare tell me you’re thinking of making diane stay in genoa city so we can share custody with and her and have this bitch in our life 24/7. Don’t you dare tell me you’re thinking of that.

[ Cellphone pings ]

Lauren: Thank you. You know, I’m sure jack appreciates your willingness to support him and your opinions.

Phyllis: Well, I don’t know about that. You know, I think he’s tired of my opinions.

Lauren: [ Laughs ]

Phyllis: And I’m sort of walking the line of being a friend and meddling.

Lauren: Yeah, but based on what you’ve said to me, I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

Phyllis: Yeah. Listen, this is no big deal compared to what you’re going through with michael. And it’s fine. Jack and I are friends, and it’ll be fine. It’s just — [ Stammers ] I’ve been calling him and he’s not answering and he usually answers and it just makes me anxious.

Lauren: I get that.

Phyllis: Yeah.

Lauren: But I’m sure he can handle whatever’s going on in los angeles. He’s a very capable man, just like michael.

Phyllis: Yeah, he is. He just has this big, amazing heart. And it’s a good thing. But it can cause him to get blind-sided in the worst way.

Diane: Why don’t you sit on the couch with kyle between us? We’ll play with some of your old toys, and that’ll keep him happy.

Jack: Okay.

Diane: That’s right.

Jack: There we go.

Diane: Look, sweetie. This was daddy’S.

Jack: What do you think of that?

Diane: He likes it. I know you don’t trust me, jack. You’ve made that very clear. But still, seeing you and kyle together like this makes me wish that there could be a better solution to this mess. In fact, it makes me certain that there must be a better way. He deserves that.

Jack: I had a great time.

Kyle: Me, too.

Jack: I’m really proud of you, son. You have no idea. You’ve turned into a great kid. And I know that wasn’t my doing.

Diane: Oh, don’t be so sure.

Jack: Don’t forget our deal.

Kyle: I won’T.

Diane: What “deal”?

Kyle: The next time a father/son event comes up… dad wants to be there.

Diane: Well, I hope he is.

Diane: [ Sighs ] And tonight’s winning numbers are 18,

[ Cellphone ringing ]

Phyllis: Oh, it’s jack!

Lauren: Excellent timing. He could tell you were thinking of him.

Phyllis: Yes. Yeah. I’ll be right back. Hey, jack! What is going on? Um, I tried to call. I’ve been worried. I’ve left messages.

Jack: Yeah, I got them. I appreciate all of them.

Phyllis: Okay. Are you okay?

Jack: I’ve been spending some time with allie.

Phyllis: Oh. And how is that time going?

Jack: You know, I’ll tell you all about it when I get back.

Phyllis: There’s something going on. I can hear it in your voice.

Jack: I’ll handle it.

Phyllis: Okay, now it’s worse.

Jack: I’ll be back as soon as I can.

Phyllis: Okay. I’ll be here.

Jack: Don’t worry. Hi.

Allie: Hi. Thanks. So, how did it go? With diane?

Jack: Listen to me. Diane is not your problem. Forget about her. Forget you ever even met her.

Allie: She’ll be living in my dad’s house.

Jack: [ Sighs ]

Allie: Which she only bought to go through me to get to you. God, it feels so wrong. Like a violation.

Jack: I am so sorry.

Allie: It’s not your fault.

Jack: No, I still responsible. Diane wants to be near kyle, and that’s the last place she should be.

Allie: She abandoned her son when he was a child who needed her. But after all this time, she wants him back.

Jack: Well, that’s not gonna happen. And I told her to stay away from you from now on.

Allie: But will she stay away from you?

Jack: I can handle diane.

[ Breathes deeply ] What? What — what does that look mean?

Allie: [ Laughs ] Nothing. Nothing. It’s just… you know, I can see some of my dad in you. He gets pretty fierce when he gets protective.

Jack: He was like that, was he?

Allie: Very much so. I would need to tell him to tone it down sometimes.

Jack: I’d like to learn more about how keemo — how hao was as a father.

Allie: I have stories. But the thing is…

Jack: Go ahead.

Allie: I’d like to learn about you, too. You and your family.

Jack: It’s your family, too. Yeah, that’s great. What do you want to talk about first? Uh, your great aunts? Your cousins? Your uncle kyle who’s pretty close to your age?

Allie: This is surreal.

Jack: Yeah, it really is. And so much better than I ever expected.

Lauren: Do you feel better now that you’ve spoken to jack?

Phyllis: No. I feel worse. Something’s wrong.

Lauren: What did he say?

Phyllis: He didn’t say anything. It was the tone of his voice. I’ve heard that tone before.

Lauren: Hmm. So this is about his past.

Phyllis: [ Sighs ] Oh, yeah. It has to do with his family.

Lauren: Ah, the most important thing to him.

Phyllis: Yeah. I mean, it’s where all of his emotional scars come from, going all the way back to dina.

Lauren: Yeah, but you don’t ever get over the abandonment of a parent. I can certainly relate. I have had a really hard time with my mom.

Phyllis: You know, I heard that when dina first came into town to rebuild a relationship with her adult kids, right, that traci and ashley were very cautious about their feelings, you know? They weren’t very vulnerable.

Lauren: I knew the family back then, and that’s exactly how I remember it.

Phyllis: But it wasn’t like that with jack, you know? He — he let her in, you know, only to get the rug ripped out from under him time and time again.

Lauren: But, you know, that’s jack, you know? He has that capacity for love and forgiveness.

Phyllis: Yeah, he gets hurt over again and again. I’m guilty of that. I’ve hurt him a lot. I just stick the knife in and twist it.

Lauren: But you two are beyond that now.

Phyllis: Yeah. Yeah. I feel that we are. I mean, that’s why I’m very, very careful with him, you know? He means a lot to me. And, um, I never want to hurt him again. Uh, I could never do that to him.

Diane: Are you telling me that —

Jack: The two of you can move in temporarily until you’re able to decide which job to take. I am hoping, yes, in appreciation for my generosity, you might not move halfway around the world.

Diane: Have you spoken to anyone else about this?

Jack: Any family? No. No. I haven’t talked to my father yet.

Diane: So, you think he’ll agree?

Jack: Look, I’ll see to it that this works out. At any rate, you’ll be staying at the pool house.

Diane: The pool house?

Jack: It’s perfectly comfortable.

Diane: It’s not exactly a home.

Jack: Hey, it’s right next to the home.

Diane: No, still, that’s not what I had in mind.

Jack: Diane, given the circumstances, I thought it best for everyone concerned to keep a little distance between you and phyllis.

Diane: I knew that’s what this was about.

Jack: What the devil did you expect?

Diane: [ Scoffs ]

Jack: Look, I want this to work out. I am not gonna roll over my wife like some bulldozer. I have to take — no, i want to take her feelings into consideration.

Diane: Which means what? Sticking your son and me in some outbuilding so she won’t make waves? Well, thanks a lot, jack, for nothing!

[ Footsteps departing ]

Diane: [ Sighs ] I’m amber, I’ve lost 128 pounds with golo,

Jack: Oh, yeah. Breakfast is the great abbott family tradition. Best way to start any day. No matter how busy all of us are, we always make time for cinnamon rolls and bacon.

Allie: [ Chuckling ] Oh, wow. Thank you. That sounds amazing. I guess as an only child, I kind of missed out on that kind of thing.

Jack: Well, I never knew what it was like to grow up in a small family.

Allie: Oh, I got plenty of attention. Whenever I needed my dad, he was always there for me.

Jack: Your dad loved you very much.

Allie: [ Chuckles ] Even when I didn’t want him around.

Jack: A little too attentive sometimes?

Allie: Believe it or not, I was a mathlete. I know. Totally uncool. And having him show up to give me a one-man standing ovation at all our school competitions was just downright embarrassing.

[ Laughs ]

Lauren: You really think this situation in los angeles is going to lead to jack getting hurt?

Phyllis: Well, after that phone call, I’m just convinced that something is wrong. I don’t know what it is, but something is wrong. I mean, I spoke to him earlier, and he was fine. And then I spoke to somebody else who’s worried about jack’s situation, and that stirred up all these protective feelings that I have. And then that phone call that i just had with him, it was totally different. He had a totally different vibe than he had before. So, something has happened in between those two calls.

Lauren: I know. I know. You’re concerned about him.

[ Sighs ] Right now michael is home resting and recovering because he won’t let this thing go and he’s not gonna stop until he’s righted a wrong. So…I completely understand. You love him, and you don’t want to see him hurt. It’s as simple as that.

Diane: [ Breathes deeply ]

Next week on

“the young and the restless”…

Nikki: To have michael held captive in a foreign country? How can he do that to someone?

Victor: He’s not gonna get away with it.

Billy: Victoria, I need to talk to you…now.

Diane: Phyllis. I didn’t know you were in town.

Phyllis: I didn’t know you were alive. I have a lot of nausea, <

Sonny: Good to see you, Brick.

Brick: Good to see you. How you doing, man?

Sonny: How’d you get here so fast from L.A.?

Brick: Ah. I know a guy who knows a guy who’s got a jet fueled and ready at LAX. When you call, I’m here. How you doing, man? How can I help you?

Sonny: There’s, uh — there’s been a void in my life too long that I’ve been trying to fill, but…

Brick: Someone used to fill that void.

Sonny: Yeah. Jason.

Man: Been a long time, Ms. Davis.

Alexis: It’s you.

Man: You remember.

Alexis: Oh, I never forget a face. Especially when it belongs to the man who blamed me for his brother’s death.

Harmony: [ Sighs ]

Nina: Hey. Hi. So, how did it go with Michael and Willow? You saw them, right?

Harmony: Yeah. Yeah, I did.

Nina: A-and? Did — did you tell them that it’s in Wiley’s best interests to let him visit with me?

Harmony: I said all that and more.

Nina: Great. And…?

Harmony: [ Sighs ]

Nina: Come on, Harmony. Don’t leave me in suspense. What did Michael and Willow say?

Harmony: Not what you wanted to hear.

Nikolas: [ Sighs ] There’s nothing to be afraid of. You’re safe.

Esme: This place is extraordinary. I mean, even the name sounds grand. Wyndemere.

Spencer: It’s not like you haven’t been here before.

Esme: Not for months. It’s good to be back.

Nikolas: Well, most importantly, you’re safe from Sonny and his goons here.

Spencer: And what about the lady of the house? When are you gonna loop Ava in?

[ Door closes ]

Judge Young: Ms. Robinson, there are two counts against you. How do you plead? Ms. Robinson?

Scott: Your honor —

Trina: I-I got this. Your honor… I plead not guilty.

Brick: The sun’s going down. Perfect time to raise a glass to our gone but never forgotten friend. Yeah. What happened to the bar? No single malt, aged 12 years in a sherry cask?

Sonny: Ah, I’m taking a break from the hard stuff. But the bar’s loaded, if you want to go and help yourself.

Brick: Wither thou goest, I will go.

Sonny: [ Laughs ] I was hoping you’d say that.

[ Both chuckle ]

Brick: So, how can I help you fill that void? You up for an adventure? San Juan, Hong Kong? Marrakesh?

Sonny: No, not adventure. Monica has declared Jason legally dead, so we’re all gonna be going to the memorial service.

Brick: May he rest in peace.

Sonny: Maybe Jason can, but I can’t. You remember… uh, Selina Wu?

Brick: I do.

Sonny: Right.

Brick: Formidable lady. She causing you trouble?

Sonny: She’s been giving me advice. Um, I’ve heard it many times.

Brick: What advice is this, exactly?

Sonny: I can’t run the business alone anymore, Brick. I need somebody else to step up and fill that hole that Jason left behind.

Brick: I accept.

Alexis: Brendan, isn’t it?

Brendan: It is.

Alexis: Last time we saw each other was at Neil’s funeral. Not a very pleasant occasion, for many reasons.

Brendan: This is a celebration of Neil’s life. You stripped him of everything he considered worth living for. I do not want this service tainted with your presence. You’re not welcome.

Alexis: You made your feelings crystal clear. And if it’s any consolation, that moment was devastating to me and sent me into my own personal hell.

Brendan: I heard you lost your law license, hit the booze pretty hard, and didn’t stop until you attacked a cop and went to prison.

Alexis: Mm. Very flattered that you’ve kept up with my life. What do you want?

Nina: Listen, Willow just told you what she thought Michael wanted to hear. You know what you need to do? Get her alone.

Harmony: [ Sighs ]

Nina: She’ll change her mind and let me see Wiley.

Harmony: No, I’m sorry, Nina. Willow does not think it’s in Wiley’s best interest to have contact with you.

Nina: So Michael and Willow want a fight, do they? They’ll get a fight. Especially after my run-in with Carly earlier.

Harmony: What happened?

Nina: Well, I foolishly tried to talk to Carly about reaching a compromise with Wiley, but she wasn’t having it.

Harmony: Is she not just going through a rough patch, right? She got divorced from Sonny.

Nina: Carly filed for that divorce. She pushed it through basically overnight. She threw away Sonny with both hands.

Harmony: Just give her some time. Let, you know, Carly lick her wounds, give her time to heal.

Nina: If that ever happens. And then what, Harmony? Wiley will be in college, asking, “who’s Nina?” And he’ll never know who his birth mother is. If only I knew that Nelle was my daughter before she died. I could have saved her from herself. [ Voice breaking ] I know I could’ve. And I wouldn’t have to be begging for a chance to get to know my grandson or for him to know me.

Nikolas: I’ll wait to tell Ava when she gets home. Right now, she’s at your friend Trina’s hearing.

Spencer: Right. That was today.

Esme: Do you wish you were there?

[ Liquid pouring ]

Spencer: I’m the last person that Trina wants to see.

Esme: I didn’t ask what Trina wants.

Nikolas: Esme, do you want to drop your bags off in your bedroom? It’s the same one you were in last time you were here.

Spencer: Father, you can’t stop Esme from bringing up Trina. She’s obsessed.

Esme: Don’t I have reason to be? I mean, it doesn’t matter that there’s evidence that Trina posted that video of Joss and Cam. Sonny corinthos still believes it was me.

Nikolas: Which is why you’re at Wyndemere. It’s Spencer’s home. And it’s safe.

Esme: Is any place really safe from Sonny Corinthos?

Spencer: Uncle Sonny will do anything and everything to protect his family.

Esme: Protect them from me, you mean.

Spencer: I didn’t say that.

Esme: Oh, I didn’t have to. I’ll take my bags up.

Nikolas: Why are you treating Esme this way when you invited her to stay here?

Spencer: I’m sorry, father, but she really pushes my buttons. The way that I’ve been known to push other people’s. By the way, is there a bomb shelter on the island?

Nikolas: Why?

Spencer: Because I’d like to be inside it when you tell Ava that Esme and I have moved in.

Scott: Stick with me, kid. They’ll be sorry they tried to railroad you.

ADA Arden: Your honor, this was a premeditated act that required a significant amount of planning. The defendant specifically targeted her friends with the intent to cause harm. The state asks that bail be set at $250,000.

Scott: Your honor, my client is a freshman in college. She’s not Lizzie Borden. She has ties to the community. She is innocent until proven guilty. She should be released without bond.

ADA Arden: If the defendant is released without posting significant bail and has access to a computer, she has the capacity to do significant harm. Who knows who else she’s taped?

Scott: You know, why don’t you save that for your closing statement, if you can get that far?

Judge Young: That will be enough, Mr. Baldwin. Ms. Arden, there is no indication that the defendant poses a threat to the community. Therefore, the defendant is released without bond.

[ Gavel bangs ]

Judge Young: Ms. Robinson, you’re free to go, pending a trial date to be determined.

Bailiff: Court is adjourned.

Portia: Oh, honey, I have never been prouder of you.

Trina: Thanks.

Portia: Good job. Oh!

Curtis: Trina, you were great. You did great.

Ava: May I?

Trina: Thank you so much for coming.

Ava: Oh, Trina, I’m just so proud of you for proclaiming your innocence.

Portia: And now we prove it, whatever it takes.

Trina: You too, Webber.

Cameron: [ Chuckles ]

Brendan: I was in pain, and I wasn’t ready to face my brother’s failings. So I lashed out at you, blamed you for his death.

Alexis: Is that an apology?

Brendan: It is.

Alexis: I wish that I knew about Neil’s addiction. I maybe could have helped. But he hid it from me, so I had no clue.

Brendan: Well, you’ve suffered enough. But look at you now — brand-new career, off the booze, respected, productive member of your community.

Alexis: Well, thank you for the compliment. You were really hostile to me at Neil’s funeral. So what is it with the sudden attitude adjustment?

Brendan: Oh, I’ve had some bad luck myself. Failed marriage, failed business. It’s taught me humility.

Alexis: And the need to make amends?

Brendan: Well, as two people who loved Neil, I hoped we could come to an understanding.

Harmony: I’m sorry, Nina, that nothing can bring back Wiley’s birth mother. But you have to know that Willow loves that little boy like he’s her own flesh and blood. And if you give it some time, maybe she can convince Michael to let you see your grandson.

Nina: How much time? This is the same woman that you told me who doesn’t think that I’m good for Wiley. I remember when she was “Ms. Tait,” and she taught my former stepdaughter Charlotte. I didn’t like her then. I should have trusted my instincts.

Harmony: Willow is highly principled.

Nina: Oh, please. I mean, she tells me that she’s going to help me. And then the next moment, she pulls a 180 and then sides with Michael. She doesn’t have a backbone. She only pretends that she’s compassionate. That “weeping Willow” is no oak.

Harmony: Just because she’s gentle doesn’t mean she’s weak.

Nina: I’m so sorry. I know that she’s your daughter. I’m just frustrated.

Nina: I mean, look how she has treated you, right? She’s barely spoken to you since you got out of prison.

Harmony: Things are much better between us now.

Nina: Oh, until Michael shuts her down. And then what’s gonna happen? She is incapable of standing up to the man or Carly. I’d be better off to ask a stranger for help.

Harmony: Willow is no stranger! And she’s just as strong as her mother!

Nina: No, no, no, no. No, she’s never gonna be as strong as you, Harmony. You’ve overcome a lot, and you turned your life around. Willow would be lucky to have even one drop of your courage.

Harmony: [ Voice breaking ] I’m sorry. I forgot I have an appointment. I have to go.

Sonny: Was that a serious offer? ‘Cause I could use your areas of expertise.

Brick: Oh, I can definitely help with the logistics, business support, definitely cybersecurity. But you’ll need to bring in somebody else as a facilitator.

Sonny: I trust you with my life.

Brick: Trust goes both ways. You know that.

Sonny: So, Jason used to do the day-to-day.

Brick: Mm-hmm.

Sonny: But since he passed, I got to deal with the other families and try to figure out who targeted my stepdaughter.

Brick: You mean the tape of her and her boyfriend?

Sonny: You saw the tape?

Brick: Hell, no. But I saw people seeing it. And I got to tell you, it took every bit of self-control I could muster for me not to take every one of them out. Please tell me you found out who did this.

Sonny: I know who’s responsible. I don’t have proof yet.

Brick: [ Sighs ]

Sonny: But I put them on notice.

Ava: Well, congratulations. You’ve got one courageous client.

Scott: Yeah, tell me about it, but she’s got a big fight ahead. Oh, hey, counselor, get used to the judge seeing things my way.

ADA Arden: Cybercrimes are insidious. The law’s still catching up. The fact is, whatever goes on the internet lives there forever. And your client taped her friends without their knowledge and put it up for the whole world to see.

Scott: Hey, Molly, tell your boss here —

Molly: You can address me as ADA Lansing-Davis.

Scott: Ohh, brother, okay. But y-you don’t really believe that Trina did it.

Molly: I believe that DA Scorpio offered a generous plea bargain. And it was your obligation, as Trina’s attorney, to advise her to take it.

ADA Arden: My associate’s right. You should have taken the deal. But you didn’t, so we’re going to trial. I’m gonna take a stand for everyone who’s ever had an intimate picture or video weaponized against them. Your client may have thought it was no big deal, but she was mistaken. And she’ll go to prison for the full term.

Trina: Thank you for being here, for standing by me.

Josslyn: That’s what friends do.

Trina: You took back the narrative when you told your story to the invader. Your courage made me realize that I don’t need to give in to cyberbullies, to Esme. The world needs to know I’m not the one who hurt you.

Scott: Okay, so, listen, we got to talk strategy.

Portia: Now? I-I mean, is that really necessary? Trina’s already been through so much today.

Scott: That ADA is out for blood.

Curtis: The judge hasn’t even set a trial date yet.

Trina: Honestly, I just want to take a long, hot bath.

Scott: Okay. You can do that. Tomorrow, we got a lot of work to do.

Trina: Thanks.

Curtis: Okay, I noticed that there were reporters outside in the corridor, and they’re gonna want a statement, which I don’t think any of us should be making.

Ava: Oh, I know my way around this courthouse. We can exit this way.

Portia: [ Chuckles ] Let’s go home.

Trina: [ Chuckles ]

Portia: Bye.

Cameron: Joss?

Josslyn: If this were my mom, she would walk out of this courtroom with her head held high.

Cameron: But you’re not your mom, okay? You have nothing to prove.

Josslyn: Yeah, only to myself.

Smoltz: Hey, hold up. Hold up.

Cameron: No, you’re too late. Trina went out the back.

Smoltz: Oh, it’s not Trina Robinson I want, Mr. Webber. It’s you and your girlfriend.

Josslyn: [ Scoffs ] We already told our story to the invader. Read it yourself, if you can afford the paywall.

Smoltz: I did read it.

Cameron: Well, if you did read it, then you would know we have nothing else to say.

Smoltz: I know Alexis Davis stole my scoop and cut me out of the story.

Cameron: Oh, boo-hoo. Life’s unfair.

Smoltz: What — well, what about your friend Trina, huh? Your story did some good. But what about your friend?

Josslyn: What about Trina?

Smoltz: Did she do it? Did she film you two and then post it?

Josslyn: [ Scoffs ]

Cameron: Hell, no.

Smoltz: How can you be so sure? Do you know who’s responsible? Oh, you do know. You just can’t prove it.

Josslyn: What do you want, Mr. Smoltz?

Smoltz: An exclusive. Tell me everything you know, stuff you didn’t say in the interview. And I’ll help you get the goods on whoever set up your friend. Sound good?

[ Footsteps approaching ]

Ava: You! Get the hell away from them!

Portia: Welcome home. [ Chuckles ]

[ Door closes ]

Portia: So, tell me. What do you think?

Trina: I mean, I liked it when it belonged to Joss’s dad. I like it even better now that it’s yours.

[ Both laugh ]

Trina: A safe harbor.

Curtis: Good memories?

Trina: Yeah. I mean, six months ago, our biggest problem was opening a jar of Sonny’s marinara sauce. [ Sighs ] Now everything’s changed.

Curtis: Well, now, you heard what the lawyer said. We’re gonna fight this.

Portia: We’re gonna fight this, and we’re gonna win.

Trina: I told Joss and Cam that their courage gave me courage. But your support helped me out a lot, too.

Curtis: Well, um, we can do a lot more than offer moral support. I could, um, find evidence to exonerate you. I haven’t forgotten how to find clues in dumpsters and garbage cans.

Portia: [ Chuckles ] Let’s just hope that it doesn’t come to that.

Trina: Yeah. I hate to admit it, but Spencer’s right. On one hand, there are tons of people who believe in me.

Curtis: And, uh — and on the other hand?

Trina: There’s evidence that proves I did it. Esme made sure of that.

Nikolas: Ava’s well aware of Sonny’s methods when he feels someone has crossed him or his family. She’ll understand the need to protect Esme.

Spencer: But will she understand why I’m sitting across from her at breakfast? [ Sniffles ]

Nikolas: Yeah. This isn’t a permanent arrangement. You know, if Trina is found guilty, even Sonny will have to accept the verdict and back off.

Spencer: Even if Uncle Sonny does, I don’t think that Ava will, because Ava loves Trina like a daughter, and she would happily throw Esme to the wolves if it means that Trina goes free.

Nikolas: And if Esme is carrying your child? Ava might not like it. She’ll make peace with it.

Spencer: And if Esme isn’t pregnant?

Nikolas: It’s all the more reason for you to find out.

Brick: So little Spencer has a girlfriend.

Sonny: Yeah, he’s not little anymore.

Brick: You always — you’ve always liked this kid.

Sonny: I still do, but not — not his company.

Brick: You’re convinced this Esme Prince is behind the video. Are you sure Spencer didn’t help her?

Sonny: Well, you know, Spencer’s done some terrible things, but he’s known Josslyn since they were in kindergarten.

Brick: Yeah.

Sonny: And, uh, Cameron I-is… part of his extended family, I think his — I think his hands are clean.

Brick: So the girlfriend is operating behind his back.

Sonny: Yeah. If we can prove that Trina is innocent and Esme is — is guilty, it won’t be just justice for Josslyn and Cameron. It will be a way for Spencer… to dump this girlfriend.

Brick: I know you’ve got your own people on it, but as always, if you need me…

Sonny: Yeah, I need you.

Brick: Then I’m on it. But in the meantime…

Sonny: What is on your mind?

Brick: You’re always running around here looking out for everybody else. Who’s looking out for you?

Scott: Ah, hiya, Nina. What do you want? Uh, I-I’m very busy. I got a young woman that needs my help, unlike you.

Nina: Uh, okay, whatever. Listen, I am sorry. I thought we could avoid going to court.

Scott: Oh, you thought you might get, uh, Wiley’s parents, somebody to intercede with them, like Sonny? But he threw you to the wolves, didn’t he?

Nina: No, this has nothing to do with Sonny. It’s just my go-between, she couldn’t really do anything because Willow is so besotted with Michael, she won’t stand up to him or Carly.

Scott: Well, why would she? Her mother couldn’t even stand up to a snake-oil salesman.

Nina: Okay.

Scott: Shiloh.

Nina: Alright, you’re not making this easy for me, are you? So can we just — can we sit down?

Scott: W-why should I? I mean, I kept you out of prison, and you turn your nose up to my legal expertise. So if you want my help now… I-I’m gonna have to hear you say it.

Alexis: I assume this understanding comes at a price?

Brendan: I wouldn’t put it that way.

Alexis: Oh, well, then how would you put it?

Brendan: You couldn’t have risen from the ashes, shall we say, without help. Is it wrong of me to want the same thing?

Alexis: I don’t know. It depends on what you mean by “help.” Forgiveness? Friendship?

Brendan: My brother lost his life by getting involved with a self-destructive alcoholic.

Alexis: There it is. There it is. I was wondering how long you were gonna keep up the “Mr. Nice guy” act. There’s the door. Move toward it and don’t look back.

Brendan: My brother was never a rich man, and funerals are expensive. You can deny it all you want, but you contributed to Neil’s death. You need to make things right.

Alexis: I will never stop wondering what happened to Neil, how he became an addict and how that addiction took his life. And I will tell you, I’m not at all satisfied that that’s the truth. But I will not be browbeaten into paying for his brother’s mistakes. And there’s nothing you can say that’s gonna change my mind.

Brendan: Are you sure about that?

Alexis: You need to leave.

Brendan: I’m not leaving until I get what I want.

Harmony: Oh, Alexis, am I early?

Alexis: No, actually. You’re right on time. Brendan was just leaving.

Harmony: Hey, Harmony miller.

Brendan: Brendan Byrne, Neil’s brother. Harmony miller. Why do I know that name? Have we met before?

Harmony: No, no, I don’t think so. You might have seen me on TV in, uh, connection with an organization called Dawn of Day. I was pretty notorious back then.

Brendan: Well, that must be it.

Alexis: Harmony and I were just leaving, Brendan, so if you don’t mind…

Brendan: Of course. I’ll send you my contact information. If you see an opportunity you think I might be right for, just let me know. Ms. Miller.

Harmony: What was that all about?

Alexis: [ Sighs ] I don’t know, but it was scary.

Sonny: You don’t have to worry about me. I spent all those months in Nixon Falls. If I can survive that, I can survive anything.

Brick: But you weren’t alone.

Sonny: You talking about Nina?

Brick: Uh, yeah. She must be one hell of a lady to come between you and Carly.

Sonny: You still have something for my wife?

Brick: [ Chuckles ] Don’t you mean ex-wife? I just admire your taste. But you gave up Carly. I hope this new lady’s worth it.

Scott: Thank you.

Nina: Okay. You need to hear me say it. [ Clears throat ] [ Lowered voice ] I made a mistake.

Scott: What?

Nina: [ Normal voice ] I made a mistake, okay? Alright, I shouldn’t have pinned all my hopes on Willow’s compassion.

Scott: [ Sighs ]

Nina: Do you feel better?

Scott: You know, maybe you ought to hire Martin Grey. You know, that folksy, down-home charm, I-I-it works with a few judges.

Nina: I don’t need folksy, down-home charm. I need a fighter, a killer that’ll leave his opponents bloody on the field.

Scott: Ohh. That’s me. However, I’m a little busy right now with Trina Robinson.

Nina: Scott, I need your help, and I’m willing to put you on retainer immediately.

Scott: Before I take your money, I need to know that you’re gonna fight for Wiley. No matter what, you’re gonna fight. And if that means kicking Sonny to the curb, then you’re gonna do that.

Portia: What do you think?

Trina: It’s a great room. Thank you.

Portia: I made it up just like your old room. You probably want to get rid of all of those stuffed animals. You’ve probably outgrown them.

Trina: No. No, no, never. But, I mean, I’m still looking forward to returning to my dorms whenever this nightmare ends and I prove my innocence. Then this place will be yours.

Portia: This is your home, too. You hear me? And you don’t have to be brave. We’re all in this together.

Curtis: All of us.

Portia: Come here.

Josslyn: What part of “no way” do you not understand?

Cameron: Just give it up, man.

Ava: [ Scoffs ] A “journalist” like Mr. Smoltz won’t stop until you slam the door in his face — or, better yet, on his writing hand.

Smoltz: Excuse me, Ms. Jerome, haven’t you heard of the First Amendment?

Ava: Yeah, comes right before the Second.

Smoltz: Oh, that sounds like a threat.

Ava: I was hoping it would.

Cameron: Ms. Jerome, Joss and I, we can handle this.

Josslyn: We’re not interested in boosting your career.

Cameron: In other words, get lost.

Smoltz: Fine. Your loss. And your friend Trina’s.

[ Door slams ]

Josslyn: This wasn’t your fight.

Ava: Well, no, on the contrary. Avery would never forgive me if I didn’t stand up for her sister.

Cameron: That guy had one thing right. Trina’s in deep trouble until we can prove she’s innocent.

Josslyn: And Esme’s guilty.

Esme: I just got an alert on my phone. Trina pled not guilty.

Spencer: I hope she can prove it.

Esme: Even if she tries to accuse me instead? When I might be carrying your child?

Spencer: Let’s find out. Why haven’t you taken that home pregnancy test yet?

Esme: I’m scared, okay?

Spencer: I get it, Esme. But are you scared that you’re pregnant or that you’re not?

Harmony: I assume Brendan was here talking about his brother. Is that what caused all the tension when I walked in?

Alexis: That was really weird. He shows up all sympathetic, not at all like the guy that heaped all this abuse on me at Neil’s funeral.

Harmony: Has something changed?

Alexis: Yeah, he thought this “Mr. Nice guy” act would convince me to help bail him out of his troubles. And when I refused, he went from Jekyll to Hyde. He thinks I owe him for causing Neil’s relapse that caused his death.

Harmony: Well [Sighs] It was a good thing that I walked in when I did. Just stay away from Neil’s brother. The farther the better, Alexis.

Ava: Don’t lose any sleep over Esme. The truth will come out, and Trina will be vindicated.

Cameron: You sound confident.

Josslyn: Yeah, Esme has skated so far, Ava.

Ava: I have spoken to someone who has an interest in seeing that Esme is punished for targeting the two of you.

Cameron: And who’s that?

Ava: I know it’s difficult for you to trust me. This time, you’re gonna have to. Esme is gonna get what’s coming to her.

Esme: I want you with me when I take the test. But I don’t need a test to tell me what I really want.

Spencer: Which is?

Esme: You. I want to be with you. But do you want to be with me?

Spencer: Esme —

Esme: N-no, no. Don’t answer that now. Just ask yourself this. With or without the baby, does my being here work to your advantage?

Spencer: How?

Esme: By driving a wedge between your father and Ava. I mean, isn’t that what you wanted all along?

Sonny: I’m taking it day to day, my friend.

Brick: Hm.

Sonny: Uh, as far as me and Nina, I can’t read into the future. But I will say this. [ Sighs ] That the connection we had in Nixon Falls… …was real.

Brick: Sonny, I know you. When you want something, you go for it and you usually get it.

🎵 But peace, peace, peace / and loyalty is needed

Nina: Oh. [ Laughs ]

Brick: You’re thinking about her right now, aren’t you?

Sonny: Can we get back to the matter at hand?

Brick: Ah, the future. [ Sighs ] Without Jason. That’s something we can work on. But a future without love, with all due respect, my brother, that’s not for you.

Nina: Sonny knows that I am not gonna force him to pick sides.

Scott: Yeah, but, uh, Carly and Michael and Willow will. So if Sonny has to choose…

Nina: He’s gonna do what’s best for his family. And I’m going to do what’s best for mine.

Scott: Are you willing to lose lover boy?

Nina: I won’t lose him if he’s the man that I knew at Nixon Falls and the man that I see in Port Charles.

Scott: What makes you think that you can just have it all?

Nina: I’m gonna have my grandson in my life, Scott, and I’m going to have the man that changed my life for the better.

Scott: Well, I’m sorry, but nobody gets it all. Nobody.

Nina: There’s always a first.

Sonny: Let’s, um, regroup after Jason’s memorial service. In the meantime, are you willing to take on more managerial responsibilities?

Brick: I’ll head the search for the facilitator to take on some of Jason’s other skill sets. Don’t worry about that.

Sonny: Okay. I got one more job for you.

Brick: Yeah.

Sonny: I want you to find out how Esme prince engineered that video.

Brick: I’m on that. No problem.

Sonny: Alright, you want a drink to seal the deal? Sparkling water.

Brick: [ Chuckles ] And to think I thought I always admired you, Sonny.

Sonny: Not anymore?

Brick: More than ever.

[ Glasses clink ]

Scott: Michael is out to win, okay? And Diane Miller, she’s a tough cookie. She will dig up whatever she can.

Nina: I understand.

Scott: Okay, then is there anything I need to know before I file this petition?

Nina: No, I mean, don’t faint, but I think my life is pretty much an open book at this point.

Scott: Really? No little secrets in your diary, skeletons in the closet?

Nina: No. I mean, Wiley is the only thing left of my daughter in this world. And I owe it to Nelle to be in his life. Whether Michael or saint Willow like it or not.

Scott: Okay, then hang your hat with me. You won’t regret it.

Nina: I hope not.

Alexis: Anyway, you never did say what brought you by.

Harmony: Oh, it’s nothing important. It can wait. You know what? I’m gonna cook dinner for you tonight. I’m gonna make something soothing.

Alexis: Good. I can use something soothing. Having his brother here reminds me how horrible Neil’s death was. And I-I really can’t help wonder if that addiction is the thing that caused his death. Ah, shoot. I forgot my phone.

Brendan: I knew that name was familiar.

Trina: It’s one thing to plead not guilty, but now I have to live with that decision. That ADA is obviously out to get me. I couldn’t believe what she said — $250,000 bail.

Curtis: Um, well, honey, I do believe that she was just grandstanding. You know. Uh, the judge ignored her recommendation.

Trina: This time, but she thinks I’m guilty. And Scott said she’s out for blood. What if she convinces the jury that I am guilty?

Portia: That’s not going to happen. And instead of dwelling on it, why don’t you go on upstairs and take that nice long, hot bath that you were talking about earlier? It’ll make you feel better.

Trina: Okay. You talked me into it.

Portia: [ Chuckles ] Good. [ Voice breaking ] I don’t know how long I can keep this up. What if Trina’s right? We have no idea what’s gonna happen. I don’t know what I’m gonna do.

Curtis: Trina has a lot of people by her side, okay? And that daughter of yours, she has more courage than anyone I know.

Portia: And I don’t disagree with you. I-I-I do. I have faith in my daughter. Just not in the world.

Curtis: Baby…

Portia: [ Sniffles ]

Curtis: …As long as we have faith in each other, we can’t lose.

Cameron: Ready to go home?

Josslyn: Actually, I think I want to go back to the dorm. What?

Cameron: It’s just Trina isn’t the only one being brave.

Josslyn: Oh, I’m not being brave. I just want things to go back to normal, if that’s even possible.

Cameron: And I will try to help make that happen.

Josslyn: Thank you.

Cameron: Come on, let’s go.

Josslyn: Actually, can we go out the front?

Cameron: Are you sure?

Josslyn: Yeah. I mean, if I can face a bunch of people on campus, I can face a couple reporters outside. It’s hard to believe that Trina’s gonna come back here and fight for her innocence.

Cameron: It doesn’t matter what Ava says. This is going to be tough.

Josslyn: Yeah, which is why we need to help Trina. We — we need to help find a piece of evidence that Esme framed her.

Cameron: Okay, but how do we pull that off?

Josslyn: [ Sighs ] By proving that Esme can be in two places at once. Well, come on. [ Sighs ]

Ava: Nikolas, my sweet! Where are you?

Esme: He’s upstairs.

On the next “General Hospital” —

Female child (to Brook Lynn): How’s your baby?

Finn (to Elizabeth): I’m right here, by your side, no matter what happens.

Gregory (to Chase): So good to see you, son.

Brad (to Terry): And I was just hoping that … you might still believe in second chances.

Britt (to Selina): And why would I do that?

Ava (to Nikolas): What’s it gonna be?

Spencer (to Esme): It’s time to take that pregnancy test.

Sheila: I tried, steffy. I really did.

Steffy: Let go of me.

Sheila: No. You let go of the idea that you have any say in this. You think I’m not welcome? You think I’m not going to have a place in my son’s life? My grandson’s? You think again.

Taylor: Thomas… I wish he’d ease up a bit.

Ridge: Honestly, I like the fact that our kids don’t hide their feelings.

Taylor: You do?

Ridge: Yeah.

Taylor: Hey, you know, they’re– they’re going to be fine, no matter what happens. You shouldn’t let any of that influence you. Their happiness doesn’t hinge on us being a couple.

Ridge: I like to pretend that it does.

Taylor: Oh, they’re just trying to heal the past. That’s all. I just– I wish thomas would focus on his future and maybe his own love life and stop focusing on ours.

Ridge: You mean like steffy.

[ Taylor chuckles ] Because she’s got the house and… husband, beautiful kids, and a lot of work here, but still finds time to meddle in our lives.

Taylor: I’m so proud of her.

Ridge: You’re proud of her for meddling?

[ Taylor chuckles ]

Taylor: No, for who she’s become. I mean, she has accomplished so much… not just here at forrester, but in her– in her life, in her– in her family. I was worried about her for a long time, ridge. She was stuck in that cycle with liam. The same one she watched growing up with me and you for so long. Still watching–

Ridge: Here we go.

Taylor: Well, it’s true. It sticks. She watched it as a little girl and then she got into it. The same thing with liam. I’m not worried about her anymore. She found finn.

Ridge: I– I couldn’t have found a better husband for her. You know, he’s perfect. Almost perfect, if it weren’t for his mother.

Finn: Come on, steffy, text me back. Il giardino? What are you doing there?

Nurse: Hey, finn, finally discharged the broken ankle. He swears he’ll never ski again.

Finn: Is– is dr. Becker still on?

Nurse: Yeah, scheduled all night.

Finn: Okay, just give him my apologies, but I need him to cover me for a while.

Nurse: What?

Finn: It’s important, okay? I’ll come back as soon as I can.

Taylor: Finn can’t choose where he came from. You know, sheila– sheila gave birth to him, she isn’t his mom, like li is.

Ridge: I know. Doesn’t make it any less disturbing that she likes to hang out and spend time with finn. And spend time with our grandson.

Taylor: I understand that. But if, you know, she truly changed,

Ridge: What do you– what do you– what? “If she truly changed,” you really believe that?

Taylor: You know, I– yes– no. But I’d like to. For finn’s sake.

Ridge: Okay, now it all makes sense. That’s why you invited her over for christmas eve. Well, no, I did that for finn, I just…

[ Sighs ] You know. I’m cautious any time we have interaction, my guard is always up. I can promise you that.

Ridge: All right. Because this– this reformed sheila, it’s not a real thing. She’s incapable of being a good person, she’s incapable of being a normal person. She’s as dangerous now as she’s always been.

Steffy: I– I don’t want to fight with you, sheila.

Sheila: No. Me neither, I– I don’t want anyone to get hurt. You know what I want? I want my son’s wife to accept me. To love me. Allow me in, please.

Steffy: Never!

Sheila: Steffy.

Steffy: No, you’re never going to be accepted. Never loved. Not by me. And certainly not by finn. Not anymore. Hi, my name is cherrie.

Ridge: You said you have these communications with sheila. How often does that happen?

Taylor: Well, that’s the thing, ridge, she’s– she just– she just shows up at my office, unannounced, and– and she wants to talk.

Ridge: She shows up at your office and she wants to talk. About what? What are you– she must have an ulterior motive. She must have something like that, right?

Taylor: See, that’s the thing. I don’t know, ridge. I– I know that she seems really happy about us, about the possibility of you and I getting back together.

Ridge: Stop. Wait, wait, wait. She seemed happy?

Taylor: No, she–

Ridge: Sheila doesn’t seem happy about anything because she’s a mean, nasty woman. She’s selfish.

Taylor: What could it be? Could– could sheila benefit from us being together for any reason? No, right? So what is it? So I’m thinking, and I was– maybe it’s because she shot me, and maybe she feels guilty and…. it’s absolving her guilt from–

Ridge: Why don’t you listen to anything I say? Why?

Taylor: What are you– I’m listening.

Ridge: She’s not- she’s not– she doesn’t feel guilt for anything. She likes causing pain. You know this. She thrives on it.

Taylor: She does, and she did. But she wants to change. And, you know, I’m a psychiatrist. It’s what I do. So I want to see people change. I believe that people can, ridge.

Ridge: I know.

Taylor: I mean, even sheila.

Ridge: You believe in a lot of things, don’t you? And you should. Maybe… unicorns and… gold at the end of the rainbow. I like it, but when you believe in sheila, you got to be very, very careful, you got to promise me that.

Taylor: I promise, ridge. But not around unicorns–

Ridge: Can we just be serious for a second?

Taylor: I am serious. Unicorns are harmless.

Ridge: It’s not a joke!

Taylor: I’m not trying to make a joke about it, ridge. I know that sheila is dangerous. I know better than anyone, okay? I know firsthand what she’s capable of. Not only that, but she’s finn’s birth mother. We share a grandson. I’m on high alert.

Finn: Il giardino? Why won’t you text me back?

Sheila: I’ve disappointed

you enough, son.

And I promise, you are never

going to hear anything

about me that would

let you down again.

Steffy: Brooke’s new year’s

eve, the booze, kissing deacon,

inviting deacon into

my father’s bed?

That was all set in

motion by your mother.

Finn: You’re evil, mom. You’re never going to change. Getting brooke drunk. You just better stay away from my wife.

Sheila: You know I can’t let you say anything–

Steffy: No, don’t you dare. Don’t you take one more step!

Sheila: You need to know what happened. What I did to brooke.

Steffy: Finn already knows.

Sheila: Then I’ll just explain it to him.

Steffy: You don’t have to explain it to him, you’re never going to see him again.

Sheila: We can keep this between us, just the few of us that know, we can put this behind us. Let your parents get back together again. If you feel like we need to say something later down the line, then fine. After taylor and ridge are married and brooke has moved on. We’ll just wait.

Steffy: No, I’m– I’m not letting my parents start a life together based on a lie.

Sheila: Would you stop being so high and mighty? Just think about what you’re going to be giving up. I did this for you… for your family. This is the best chance that you have.

Steffy: No, you’re a liar. You did this for yourself. You did this because brooke put her foot down about hayes being in your life.

Sheila: Well, that was just an added bonus. But what difference does it make? Because the outcome is the same. Ridge left brooke for your mother.

Steffy: And I’m supposed to be thanking you? You psychopath, you set this all in motion. You know who I should be thanking? Brooke. Who stood up to you!

Sheila: Whoa, whoa, whoa, now all of a sudden you’re team brooke?

Steffy: I’m on anyone’s team but yours. Anyone who’s willing to join me to get you away from finn and my son!

Sheila: The losing team. No one… is ever going to keep me away from finn and hayes. Not even you… steffy.

Why hide your skin if dupixent

Taylor: You know, I’m sure it bothers steffy on some level. Finn.. being a part of sheila, sheila being a part of hayes’ life.

Ridge: I’m not– you know, I know she thought about walking away from it. And nobody would have blamed her. But she didn’t, because she sees finn for who he is. You said before, he’s not just his dna, he’s a good guy.

Taylor: He really is a good guy. And I’m just so happy. Steffy– steffy’s so fulfilled, you know? With everything. I’m just– I’m so happy for her.

Ridge: So am I.

Taylor: You know what, I– I actually– I think it’s just going to get better and better. I can see it, ridge, I– I do. She has this great career. She has a great business partner. She has a– a loving family, her children are wonderful and– and she and finn, oh, they’re such a great team together. They really are. A doctor and a fashion designer? What a great match.

[ Laughs ]

Ridge: Okay.

Taylor: I’m just so happy. I mean, this is everything I’ve ever wanted for her, ridge. Everything.

Steffy: I feel bad for finn. He thought this was all a misunderstanding, that I was wrong about you. But once he hears what you’ve been saying… how you’ve been talking to me, he’s going to hate you as much as I do.

Sheila: Why? Why do you have to fight me? Why can’t you just accept me and care for me the way I want–

Steffy: I don’t want anything to do with you, sheila! Knowing that you’re thinking about me, my family, that is my worst nightmare. You– you’re– you’re sick. You’re unhinged. You shot my mother. Maybe she can forgive you, but I can’T. Now, you need to stay away from us. You should be behind bars.

Sheila: I served my time.

Steffy: It didn’t do you any good. You didn’t come out a better person. You just fell back into your old ways. You hurt people to get what you want. You hurt brooke to have access to finn and hayes. Access you’re never going to have.

Sheila: Because you say so?

Steffy: That’s right. Finn is my husband, hayes is my son, I’m in control.

Steffy: So know when to give up.

Sheila: Never.

Steffy: Everyone’s going to know what you did, sheila. Everyone’s going to know the truth.

Sheila: Oh, it’s not going to happen. Steffy, I can stop you.

Steffy: From going to my father? Not a chance.

Sheila: I will… if I have to. You know what it’s like, you’re a mother, you’d do the same. Finn means everything to me. I love him more than life itself. You’d do it. You do anything in your power to protect that relationship with your child.

Steffy: That’s what you don’t get, sheila. You don’t have a relationship. Not with finn. Not with hayes. You’re never gonna see them again.

[ Echoing ] You’ll never see

them again. Never.

You’ll never see them again.

Again.

Never again.

Never again.

Never again.

Never.

[ Gunshot ]

Sheila: No! No! When tough pain hits,

Ridge: You talked about steffy having a good business partner in me, but the truth is, she is ready to run this company on her own.

Taylor: Oh, come on, like– you and your dad will be roaming these halls ’til the day you die.

Ridge: Maybe even after. I mean, why not? My mom’s got the house covered. Maybe we should be haunting these– these little hallways here.

Taylor: Yeah, you’re good at ghosting. So…

Ridge: Oh, here we go again.

Taylor: What? My point is this. It’s time for steffy to take over. I know she can do it. It’s a nice feeling. She is one hell of a leader.

Taylor: Yeah, she’s– she’s one hell of a woman, isn’t she? She has the strongest spirit. She really does. She’s gone through so much and she– she always rises to the top. Never fails. I am– I am just so proud of her and for the life that she’s creating. Our girl, our girl, her future is so bright.

Ridge: I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Steffy: Finn! Finn! Oh, my god! Oh my god! There’s so much blood! Finn! Oh my god!

Sheila: God, what’ve I done?

Steffy: Finn, talk to me, please talk to me.

Sheila: I didn’t see him. I didn’t know he was here.

Steffy: God, finn, can you hear me, please? Please, finn! Finn! Finn, ple– please, breathe, baby, breathe. Breathe. Oh, god, please, please, breath.

[ Finn gasping ] Oh! Oh! Oh, oh, baby. Oh, my god. Finn! Finn! I’m gonna get you help, okay?

Finn: What– what happened?

Steffy: I’m gonna get you help.

[ Finn mumbles ]

Steffy: Oh, god, oh, god. You need to call for help, sheila! You need to call now!

Finn: Stay here with me. Just be– stay here with me.

Steffy: Hang in there, okay? Hang in there. We got you. We got you, okay? I got you.

Finn: I love you.

Steffy: Baby, I love you. You’re gonna get through this. Okay? You’re gonna get through this. So blessed to have… to have you… and make sure… make sure hayes…

[ Breathless mumbling ] Our life is… I love– I love you, steffy. I’ll always, always-

Steffy: I love you.

Finn: I’m gonna love you for–

Steffy: No, no, no! No, finn! No! No, no, no, no, no, finn! No, no, finn, no, no. I need you. I need you. Hayes needs you, he needs his daddy! No! No!

[ Steffy sobbing ]

Sheila: Finn, baby!

Steffy: Your only son.

Sheila: I didn’t know– I didn’t know he was here.

Steffy: You were going to kill me. You’re a monster! You’re going to prison for the rest of life.

Sheila: You put your phone down.

[ Key tapping ] Put the phone down! Don’t do it, steffy. Don’t you dare!

[ Steffy sobbing ] Because this is my secret.

Recap written by Christine

Phyllis was at the hotel. She called Jack and left a message letting him know she was there for him. Lauren came needing an Escape Club session to relax. Phyllis offered a listening ear, and Lauren accepted. She gave Phyllis a vague rundown about Michael’s job with Victor. She said she went days without hearing from Michael. Phyllis assumed Michael saw it as an adventure. Lauren said exactly. She asked if she was just supposed to accept this unpredictable lifestyle. Phyllis wondered why the thing you loved about someone was also the thing that drove you crazy and made you worry about them. Lauren felt like they weren’t talking about Michael anymore. She asked if Phyllis was worried about Jack. Phyllis wasn’t worried before, but now she was wondering if she should be.

Lauren wanted to know what was going on with her friend, Jack. Phyllis said it wasn’t her news to share. She added that he was in LA dealing with something from his past. She was worried about him facing this alone. Lauren was sure Jack appreciated Phyllis’s support and opinion. Phyllis thought Jack was tired of her opinion. Phyllis felt like she was walking the line between being a friend and meddling. Phyllis said that this wasn’t anything as concerning as what Lauren and Michael were going through. Phyllis was worried though because Jack usually returned her calls, and he wasn’t this time. She said Jack had an amazing heart, and sometimes it could cause him to be blindsided in the worst way.

Jack returned to Diane’s house in LA, after she sent a text asking him to come back. He didn’t want to be there, but he thought it was obvious that she wasn’t going to let this go until she said what she had to say. He was unhappy she’d dragged his grieving granddaughter into her little game. He made it clear that Allie was off-limits. Diane said she’d tried to give Jack something he didn’t know he lost. She knew he was grateful. He angrily thanked her and said they were done here. She was trying to make amends. He said she wasn’t trying to make amends to the people she hurt. He told her she stole something from Kyle that she could never give back. Jack flashed back to comforting a young Kyle after Diane’s supposed death. “You tore that little boy’s heart out and for that, I will never forgive you,” Jack told Diane. Diane replied that Jack might not forgive her, but she thought he might be able to understand.

Tell me why you shredded Genoa City and our son’s life” Jack demanded. Diane felt there was no other way. She’d pulled so many schemes back then. Victor hated her at that point, and she’d wronged Nikki, Phyllis, Tucker and Ashley. Her plan had been to fake her own death and take Kyle far away, but things didn’t go as planned. Everyone had been angry and wanted her gone. She’d been panicked, and Deacon came to her aid. “Oh dear God,” Jack sighed. A corpse from the morgue helped the illusion, and she paid off everyone who could reveal the truth. But when it was time, she couldn’t meet up with Kyle, because she knew they couldn’t outrun Jack, and she couldn’t do that to their son. She cried that having the world hate her was hard, but it crushed her to lose Kyle. She was broken and she felt worthless, and she convinced herself that Kyle was better off without her. She knew Jack would love Kyle and keep him safe. She went west. Jack snapped that Diane ran away and didn’t take responsibility and face the people she abused. She said everyone hated her, and in time, she hated herself. The self-loathing, guilt and the shame made her decide that, since the world wanted her dead, she should give them what they wanted. Jack accused Diane of doing this out of self-pity. Diane sought therapy, and she worked through it over the years. She always held Kyle in her heart, and she read about him on the internet, and she said it was obvious that Jack made him into a wonderful man. She knew that Kyle was in Milan with a wife and child. “Jack, we’re grandparents,” Diane said. “We are nothing. You are Kyle’s late mother. That’s what you chose,” Jack said. Diane had stayed away because she couldn’t upturn Kyle’s life again. Jack thought that was the one decent thing Diane did in this journey of self discovery. He said they both knew she wanted something else, and he asked what it was – attention, absolution, money? He wanted to know what she was after so they could be done with this.

Diane asked if Jack didn’t have any good memories of them. She did. She had her heart broken more than once, but it was worth it, just to be in his life. He said that was decades ago, and if she was still holding onto that, he couldn’t help her. It was far more bad than good, in his opinon. There was a flashback to Jack and Diane. He told her that Phyllis found some plans Diane drew up for a dream house Diane and Jack were going to live in. Diane was touched Jack kept them. Jack said he ripped them up this morning. He’d then told Phyllis that when Diane was with him, she was also getting romantically involved with Victor Newman. Jack considered his entire relationship with Diane to be a waste of time. “I’ve come to realize over time that Victor Newman did me a favor taking you off my hands,” Jack had said.

In the present, Diane said she and Jack may have been too much alike. The spark was addictive, for her, at least, and she said there was love. She flashed back to the time Jack put a diamond engagement ring in her glass of champagne. He proposed and asked her to make him the happiest man on the planet. “I loved you Jack. And I know there was a time that you loved me too,” Diane told Jack, in the present. Jack told Diane that love died before she’d faked her death. He said to stop whipping up nostalgia. Any warm or any neutral feelings he had for her were obliterated by this latest stunt. She said she brought Allie into his life, and more importantly, she brought Kyle into this world. She told Jack that they were connected. Jack felt that having Kyle was the one good thing Diane ever did. He thought it was absurd that she’d purchased this entire house just to talk to him. He asked if that sounded normal to her. She said she’d done the work – the old Diane was dead, and it was time for her to make amends. He noted that there were other people she’d hurt. She knew there were others. She said when Keemo died, Jack lost any chance at being part of his son’s life, then she guided him to Allie. She knew family meant the world to him, just as it did to her. He realized she wanted him to help her connect to Kyle.

Jack wasn’t surprised Diane had a demand. Diane said it was a request that Jack, of all people could understand. He reminded her she’d admitted to being toxic. She said that was the past. He pointed out that she recently manipulated Allie, deceived him, and sent mysterious texts so he’d find his son’s obituary. She said she protected Kyle by leaving, but he was a grown man, a father who understood how deep a parent’s love went. She said Kyle was in a better place to understand her love, and she was in a better place, and she could be a healthy presence in Kyle’s life. She reminded him about the time they’d admiring their boy. He remembered how she shipped Kyle off to Switzerland and changed his name to Timothy to hide him from Jack. Diane regretted that, but she’d changed. She told him he’d changed too, so he shouldn’t pretend it wasn’t possible. She reminded him that he’d been cold and callous, vengeful and a user, but he’d changed, so why couldn’t he believe she could too?

Diane said Kyle was her son. Jack said Kyle was a grown man who’d built a wonderful life, and he wouldn’t let Diane poison it. Jack said he was going to go home and forget this ever happened. Diane said Jack wasn’t the kind of man who could do that. She said he loved Kyle with his whole heart, and Kyle was half her. Jack said Kyle grieved for Diane, and Jack held and comforted and protected him. He wasn’t going to stop protecting Kyle now. Diane yelled that Kyle needed his mother. Jack coldly said Kyle needed a real mother, not Diane. He said she didn’t deserve Kyle, and he left.

Jack went to the outdoor cafe and texted Allie asking to meet. While he waited for a response, he had a flashback to an old memory. He was with Phyllis, and he was trying to convince her that he didn’t have feelings for Diane. Jack had said he should be thanking Victor for getting Diane out of his life. Phyllis and Jack discussed the fact that Victor and Diane got divorced after everyone learned that the baby Diane was carrying wasn’t Victor’s, as Diane had insisted it was. Diane had left town after the news came out. Jack ripped up the blueprints for the house Diane had designed. There was another flashback. Jack informed Phyllis that he was the father of Diane’s child. Phyllis asked how this could be. She knew Diane got pregnant using sperm she stole from a reproductive lab. Jack explained that, after his testicular cancer scare, he’d donated sperm and had it frozen and stored in the lab. Phyllis was was distraught. It turned out that Victor’s sperm sample was switched with Jack’s, and now Jack was the father.

Phyllis blamed Nikki for switching Jack and Victor’s samples. Jack said it wasn’t Nikki. He told Phyllis that Nikki never met the man who switched the samples. He thought the switch was a coincidence. Phyllis didn’t believe it. She said it was either Nikki, or Diane, since Diane had a thing for Jack. Jack was sure Nikki wouldn’t do anything like that to him. He didn’t think it was Diane, because if she’d known the truth about her baby’s father, she would’ve just come to Jack instead of leaving town in disgrace for a year. He pointed out that he and Phyllis weren’t together when Diane found out Victor wasn’t the baby’s father. Jack said Diane was just as messed up by this as he was. Phyllis didn’t think Diane was actually upset about this. Phyllis demanded to know what Diane was planning to do – give the baby to Jack and Phyllis, then go back to her life in Milan? “Not exactly,” Jack admitted. “Don’t you dare tell me that you’re thinking of making Diane stay in Genoa City so we can share custody with her and have this bitch in our lives 24/7,” Phyllis replied.

In the present, Jack called Phyllis and said he met with Allie. He promised to share the details , when he got back. She could tell in his voice something was going on. He told her not to worry. Allie arrived, Jack ended the call. Allie asked what was going on with Diane. He told her forget about Diane. Allie didn’t like Diane living in her dad’s house – one she only bought to get to Jack. Jack was so sorry. Allie didn’t blame him, but he felt responsible. Allie said Diane abandoned her son when he needed her, and now she wanted him back. Jack said that wasn’t going to happen. He added that he told Diane to stay away from Allie. Allie asked if Diane would stay away from Jack. He was adamant that he could handle Diane. Allie smiled. The way Jack said that reminded her of how fierce Keemo could be when he got protective. Allie said she’d have to tell her dad to tone it down sometimes. Jack wanted to hear how Keemo – Hao was as a father. Allie had a lot of stories. She also wanted to know about Jack and his family. Jack said they were Allie’s family too. He asked who she wanted to hear about first – her great aunts, her cousins, her uncle Kyle, who was pretty close to her age. This was surreal for Allie. He said it was so much better than he ever expected. Jack told Allie about Abbott family breakfasts. Allie said as an only child, she got plenty of attention. Her dad was always there for her, but she was embarrassed when Keemo would come and give her a standing ovation at her mathlete competitions. She smiled at the memory.

Phyllis felt worse after talking to Jack, because she could tell something was wrong. Lauren asked what this was about. Phyllis said it was about Jack’s family, which was the source of all his emotional scars, all the way back to Dina. Lauren knew you didn’t get over being abandoned by a parent. Lauren could relate, because she’d had a really had time with her mom. Phyllis heard that when Dina first came to town to reconnect with her adult kids, Traci and Ashley were very guarded, but Jack let Dina in, only to get the rug ripped out from under him time and time again. Lauren knew the family back then, and she said that was accurate. She said Jack had that capacity for love and forgiveness. Phyllis said she’d hurt Jack a lot. Lauren said Phyllis and Jack were beyond that now. Phyllis agreed. She was careful with Jack because she didn’t want to hurt him again. Phyllis was convinced something was wrong in LA. Earlier when she spoke to Jack, he was fine. Then Phyllis spoke with someone else who was worried about Jack, and that stirred up Phyllis’s protective feelings. And Jack sounded off in this new call, and she knew something happened. Lauren said Michael was at home resting, and he wasn’t going to stop until he’d righted a wrong. Lauren understood Phyllis loved Jack and didn’t want to see him hurt.

Back at her place, Diane flashed back to bringing a toddler-aged Kyle to visit Jack. Diane knew Jack didn’t trust her, but seeing him with Kyle made her wish there could be a better solution. Diane had another flashback. In this one, Kyle was school aged, and Diane had brought him for another visit with Jack. Jack ruffled his son’s hair and said he was proud of him. “You’ve turned into a great kid and I know that wasn’t my doing,” Jack said. Diane smiled and implied that Jack deserved credit too. Kyle told Diane that Jack wanted to be there for his next father/son event. Diane hoped that would happen.

Diane remembered Jack letting her move into the Abbott estate. He made it clear that this was temporary. He didn’t want her to move halfway around the world. She asked what his father thought of it, and he said he’d make sure she could stay. Diane was pleased until Jack said she’d be living at the pool house and not the mansion He thought, under the circumstances, they should keep distance between Diane and Phyllis. Phyllis and Jack were married, so he wanted to consider her feelings. Diane grumbled that Jack was sticking her and his son into some out building so Phyllis wouldn’t be upset. “Thanks a lot Jack. For nothing,” she spat.

In the present, Diane looked at a recent picture of Kyle on her phone and cried.

Update written by Joseph

Gabi comes home to find Jake packing his things. Jake says he’ll see her around or hopefully never. Gabi stops him and asks if they are really going to end things like this.

Nicole walks past the Brady Pub and calls Rafe, leaving a message about how Abe is having a rough time so she hoped they could invite him to dinner. Nicole tells him to call back when he gets a chance and she loves him as she hangs up. Ava then appears and says she loves her too, then jokes that she wasn’t talking to her.

Paulina asks Rafe how the drug dealer overdosed if he didn’t use drugs. Rafe says that is the million dollar question. TR suggests he was looking for a quick exit after shooting a cop. Rafe points out that he had a gun which would be a bit quicker. TR jokes it’d be a lot less enjoyable. Rafe says that Lani thinks it was an accidental overdose but that seems unlikely since he had no priors. TR suggests maybe he thought it would calm him down. Rafe says that something just doesn’t sit right with him. Paulina argues that they know he overdosed and asks if it really matters why since he shot Eli, unless Rafe is suggesting that he didn’t.

Lani thanks Chanel for the flowers. Chanel knows Eli can’t enjoy them but she figured it brightens up the room. Chanel comments that Paulina said Lani has been here 24/7. Chanel asks how she can help. Lani thanks her but says they have it covered as Paulina has been all over it including cleaning her apartment. Lani adds that everyone has been really supportive as even TR came to see Eli. Chanel asks if that’s something she wanted. Lani responds that she’ll take all the support she can get right now. Chanel points out that just a few weeks ago, everyone was acting like TR was the Devil himself…

Allie goes to the DiMera Mansion and tells Johnny to turn around and face her. Devil Johnny remains turned away with his yellow eyes and says he’s busy. Allie asks what the problem is and if he can’t look her in the eye. Johnny yells at her to go away. Allie then declares she will make him turn around and grabs his shoulder.

Rafe tells Paulina that he’s not suggesting someone else shot Eli. TR questions what he is suggesting then. Rafe says something just doesn’t feel right. Paulina sees how determined Rafe is and says Eli is lucky to have him on the case. Rafe calls Eli a good friend, so he owes it to him to find out the whole story as to why he was in the park and why he got shot. Paulina believes Rafe will uncover the truth.

Lani tells Chanel that TR swears he’s a changed man. Chanel asks if she believes him. Lani admits she was skeptical at first because Paulina has awful stories from the past, but he’s gone through treatment and therapy, so even Paulina admits he’s a changed man. Chanel says she never would have guessed TR was who Paulina was running from for half of her life as he seems really nice. Chanel reveals that TR did her and Allie a huge favor by allowing them out of their contracts in Johnny’s movie. Chanel says there is no way she could work with Johnny now and she can’t believe that she thought he loved her.

Johnny hides his devil eyes as he turns around and asks Allie what is so important that they have to talk about it right now. Allie complains that he told Tripp that she and Chanel are together and asks why he would do that. Johnny argues that he didn’t know it was a secret since they were all over each other in the town square. Allie says it’s not a secret, but she wanted to tell Tripp herself. Johnny claims he hadn’t realized that she hadn’t told him yet. Allie argues that Johnny knew that she hadn’t told Tripp about her and Chanel when she accepted his proposal. Johnny asks if it’s his fault that she cheated on Tripp. Allie says she owns that, but lately it’s like Johnny is enjoying watching her life apart and doing everything possible to make sure that happens. Allie asks him why.

Gabi tells Jake that she’s so sorry for how she treated him as she truly believed that he betrayed her first. Jake complains that she didn’t think to ask him about it or give him the benefit of the doubt. Gabi asks how she was supposed to know that the Devil morphed in to him. Jake says it’s about how she handled it as instead of asking him about it, she lied and plotted with Johnny then single handedly destroyed their relationship, his career, and his future. Gabi cries that she regrets all of that and wants to figure out a way to fix it. Jake shouts that there is no fixing it since them falling apart so quickly made him realize that the fundamental problem was that Gabi always wanted him to be Stefan, but he never will be. Gabi disagrees but Jake declares that all he will ever be to her is a pale imitation of his twin brother. Gabi says that’s not true. Jake questions why she won’t take off her necklace with Stefan’s ring on it then. Gabi calls it honoring his memory. Jake tells Gabi that they are broken and there’s no fixing them. Gabi asks where he will stay. Jake says he will go to his old place over the garage because it’s available, cheap, and all he can afford thanks to her. Jake then walks out of the house.

Ava questions Nicole and Rafe already being at the I love you stage but points out they’ve been hiding their feelings for a long time. Nicole tells Ava that she’s sorry. Ava doesn’t believe her. Nicole says she’s about as sorry as Ava is for setting Rafe up for a crime he didn’t commit. Nicole tells Ava that her revenge plot wasn’t clever enough since Rafe is now free of all charges. Nicole asks what Ava is going to do with all her pent up anger. Ava guesses she’ll just have to wait and find out. Nicole tells Ava to stop and just come at her if she’s going to. Nicole wants her to have the guts to do it to her face. Ava says okay and then slaps Nicole. Ava asks if she regrets telling her tor bring it to her face now. Nicole is glad that the gloves are coming off and then responds by slapping Ava. Jake rushes up to break up the fight.

Paulina tells Rafe that Lani said Eli wasn’t even working on this case when he got shot. Rafe confirms that and tells TR that he just spoke to Beth about that because Eli was interviewing Beth right before the shooting, so he thought she could provide some insight as to why Eli suddenly left the station and went to the park but she said that Eli only said he had to take care of something. TR says that’s too bad. Rafe says he will keep on digging. Paulina says they don’t want to keep Rafe if he has work to do. Rafe says he does. Paulina thanks Rafe for the update. TR claims it was nice meeting him. Rafe brings up that Lani saying TR has changed, so he hopes that she’s right for her sake. Rafe then exits.

Lani asks if Chanel is still hurting over Johnny. Chanel assures that she doesn’t have feelings for him anymore but she can’t get over how wrong she was about him. Chanel says Allie is pretty much done with him too. Lani asks what happened with Tripp since he seemed upset when she came in. Chanel confirms that he’s pretty angry with her so Lani asks what happened. Chanel reveals that Johnny took it upon himself to tell Tripp that she and Allie are a couple now, surprising Lani.

Johnny tells Allie that he thought Tripp had a right to know what they were doing behind his back. Allie argues that she’s his sister. Johnny says he will still call her out on doing bad stuff. Allie agrees that Tripp had a right to know but says she was going to break it to him gently. Johnny asks when she was going to. Allie argues that this is not his business. Johnny says it is because Chanel is still his wife and she’s cheating on him with his twin sister. Allie argues that his marriage is over because he threw it away. Johnny brings up how that makes him look. Allie hopes it’s humiliating for him after how he dumped Chanel in front of her entire family. Johnny argues that Allie always said he’s a jerk and a player. Allie wishes Chanel listened. Johnny says Allie got what she wants in Chanel so he asks what she wants from him. Allie wants to know what happened to the brother that she loved her whole life.

Sonny goes to see Gabi, who answers the door in tears as she hugs him. Gabi thanks him for stopping by. Sonny asks if she’s okay. Gabi says she will be and invites him in. Sonny gives her a bracelet from Arianna and assures that Arianna and Will will be back. Gabi cries that it’s Jake.

Jake asks if Ava and Nicole are trying to kill each other and they say yes. Ava argues that Nicole told her that she could hit her. Nicole says not exactly. Ava remarks that Nicole already cheated with her boyfriend, so she doesn’t get to hit her back. Nicole argues that she tried to be her friend but now it’s every woman for herself. Nicole tells Ava to think again if she thinks she can get between her and Rafe. Nicole storms off as Ava starts to say what she would’ve done in the old days. Jake asks Ava about Nicole and Rafe. Ava confirms they slept together months ago and have been lying to her this whole time. Ava says Rafe finally had the decency to break up with her and now he and Nicole are in love. Jake tells Ava that he’s sorry. Ava brings up that Gabi will be over the moon since Rafe finally got rid of her. Jake informs Ava that he and Gabi broke up. Ava questions what happened. Jake points out that Ava’s cheek looks like it’s going to bruise. Ava asks if he’s avoiding the subject. Jake suggests they go inside and find her some ice and they can swap war stories over a drink. Ava agrees that she could definitely use a drink.

Lani questions Chanel and Allie seeing each other. Chanel admits it’s pretty new. Lani says she just always thought Allie was straight. Chanel says Allie identifies as bisexual and maybe she is too but she’s never done the whole label thing. Lani asks how this happened. Chanel explains that there has always been feelings but Allie was with Tripp and she was with Johnny and now that they are both single, they figured they would explore their feelings and see what happens. Chanel says so far so good. Lani asks if she’s totally over Johnny. Chanel admits she’s still hurt by what he did as she really did love him, but he’s just not the guy that she thought she married.

Johnny says according to Allie, he was always an insensitive jerk. Allie argues that he was a player but he wasn’t cruel as she always thought he had a heart. Allie wants to know why Johnny is acting like such a jerk. Allie acknowledges that they fought a lot but she always felt a connection. Allie sometimes felt like she could read his mind but now that connection is gone. Allie asks Johnny where the brother she loves is. Devil Johnny turns away again as Johnny’s voice inside of him tries to tell Allie that he’s here but the Devil won’t let him out.

TR tells Paulina that Rafe is wasting his time since they already have their man and asks who cares why he overdosed. Paulina thinks everyone just wants to know for sure what happened to Eli. TR gets a text and says there is a crisis with the movie so he has to go put out a fire. TR says he hates leaving Paulina alone with the kids. Paulina assures she can handle it. TR tells her that she can call him any time. TR says he never got to be with Lani growing up, but he does want to be there for their grandchildren. TR adds that he likes spending time with them and with her. TR says he was going to give her a goodbye hug, but he would never touch her without her permission. Paulina says that she is a hugger so TR hugs her.

Rafe goes to his office and finishes a call with Abe, saying he’ll let him know what he finds out and he will be in touch. Nicole arrives, so Rafe goes to kiss her but Nicole mentions her face being sore after a run in with Ava.

Jake and Ava sit together in the Brady Pub. Ava asks him what happened with he and Gabi. Jake asks how much time she has. Ava says it can’t be that complicated. Jake informs Ava that the Devil impersonated him so that Gabi would think he betrayed her and he thinks Gabi is still in love with Stefan. Ava acknowledges that it’s pretty complicated. Jake assures that they are done and he just picked up the last of his stuff. Ava comments on Rafe not changing the locks yet. Ava knows she should probably be sad but she would rather buy him a bottle of champagne and congratulate him for finally getting away from Gabi.

Gabi explains to Sonny that Jake thinks she only fell in love with him because he reminded her of Stefan. Gabi admits that when she first met Jake, she thought he was Stefan and desperately wanted him to be. Sonny feels that is understandable. Gabi assures that she really fell in love with Jake for who he was or at least she thought she did. Gabi admits that the minute she thought Jake betrayed her, she turned on him so fast, so maybe she didn’t fall in love with him for who he really was and maybe she was just waiting for him to let her down.

Allie asks Johnny if something is wrong. Johnny’s voice inside continues trying to get out. Allie questions why Johnny is acting like this and why he married Chanel if he didn’t love her. Johnny’s voice inside says he did love her, but Devil Johnny tells Allie that he just knew it would get to her. Allie asks if he married Chanel just to hurt her. Johnny jokes about how he used to take her toys when they were kids. Allie calls him a grown man now and says this is so not normal. Johnny’s voice inside continues trying to tell her it’s not him. Allie then declares that she knows what’s going on here.

Jake tells Ava that he’s staying at his old place over the garage since Ben and Ciara moved out. Jake asks where Ava is staying. Ava says she’s just been lying low. Jake recalls Ava being wanted by the police. Ava argues that they have nothing on her but she was staying a motel and only came out when she heard Rafe was out of jail. Jake asks if they will get back together. Ava assures they are through and adds that Rafe is convinced that she set him up on those charges for cheating on her. Jake asks if Ava did it.

Rafe asks Nicole if she came to press charges. Nicole says no and that she just came to see him. Nicole acknowledges that she dared Ava to hit her and came at her just as hard. Rafe tells her that she can’t be doing that. Nicole knows she should’ve controlled herself but it’s driving her crazy to not know what Ava is going to do next. Rafe tells her to call him next time. Nicole informs him that she did call Rafe earlier and left a message. Rafe remembers he turned his phone off and meant to call her but he was working on Eli’s case. Nicole though they knew who shot Eli. Rafe says they do but there are unanswered questions.

Lani hopes Chanel and Allie will be happy together. Chanel thanks her. Lani gets an alert that Eli is scheduled for tests so they will be kicked out soon by a nurse. Chanel asks if Lani needs anything. Lani says she’s going to duck out and go see the kids while she has a chance. Lani thanks her for the flowers. Chanel says she’s sorry she’s going through this. Lani responds that the only person who needs to be sorry is the criminal who shot her husband in cold blood.

Beth goes to see TR at his hotel room and says she got his message as she asks what’s going on. TR mentions hearing that she went to visit the police commissioner. Beth confirms that she signed her statement and didn’t tell him that TR was a drug user or about the abuse. TR says he knows because Rafe would’ve mentioned if she had. TR adds that he needs to make sure Beth will continue to keep her mouth shut because he’s asking a lot of questions about Eli’s shooting. Beth asks why he cares since he said he had nothing to do with that. TR argues that they can’t trust police, so he needs to know that he can count on her or things could dicey for the both of them..

Johnny questions Allie saying she knows what’s really going on. Allie says Johnny is saying all these horrible things but underneath it all she can still feel the real him. Johnny’s voice inside tries to get through to Allie. Allie senses Johnny is trying to push her away because there is something going on and he doesn’t want him to know. Johnny continues fighting from inside. Allie asks what is going on and if he’s alright.

Jake asks Ava if he would recognize the guys that accused Rafe from back in the day. Ava says of course not because no one uses their real names. Ava adds that she didn’t say it was her that set up Rafe. Jake points out that she didn’t say it wasn’t her either. Ava says if she told him it was her, he’d become an accessory and she’d never do that to him when she knows how hard he’s been working to put his life of crime behind him. Jake toasts to them being former business associates, now trying to walk the straight and narrow.

Nicole talks to Rafe about Eli looking up TR before he went to the park. Rafe talks about TR claiming that he’s turned his life around which is backed up by Beth and now Paulina and Lani think it might be true. Nicole says in her experience, it’s rare that guys like that change their stripes.

Beth feels like TR is threatening her. TR says he’s just pointing out the opportunity costs and she still wants to be in his movie. Beth informs him that she had a really great meeting with Johnny. TR asks what she told Johnny about him. Beth says she stuck to the story but Johnny was asking a lot of questions about how she got hired because apparently, he has final say on all casting, so he wanted to know why TR hired her without his input. TR asks what she said. Beth recalls telling Johnny that she agreed to keep quiet about TR’s past. Beth claims to TR that Johnny assumed she traded sexual favors for the spot and that she didn’t correct him. TR hopes she’s telling the truth because if Paulina finds out he’s not as reformed as he said, the whole film could go to Hell..

Allie asks if Johnny is alright. Devil Johnny claims he’s fine but Johnny’s voice inside says he’s not. Johnny’s voice inside calls for Allie to help him. Devil Johnny screams for him to shut up. Allie argues but Johnny responds that he wasn’t talking to her so Allie frantically asks who the hell he’s talking to then.

Sonny asks if Gabi is feeling okay. Gabi says she’s been better. Sonny tells her to get in bed and he’ll make her some tea. Gabi thanks him but doesn’t think tea will do the trick. Sonny encourages that he’s seen her rally and she will get over Jake. Gabi responds that it’s not just Jake but Kate told her that she’s doomed to be alone because she’s ousted everybody at DiMera that cared for her and she’s not wrong. Sonny tells her to never listen to Kate and that she’s not alone as she has Arianna, Will, Rafe, and himself.

Jake asks Ava where she’s going now. Ava confirms she’s staying in Salem because her son is here. Jake asks if she will get her own place. Ava is not really sure as she can’t have Tripp seeing her dig in to her inheritance to pay rent. Jake asks about staying with Tripp. Ava reminds Jake that Tripp lives with Steve and Kayla. Jake tells Ava that it’s not much, but she’s welcome to stay at his place while she figures things out. Ava doesn’t think he means it but Jake says she’d be doing a favor by helping out with rent or keeping the fridge stocked with beer. Ava points out that she’s a pretty good cook too and acknowledges that she doesn’t have many other options. Ava asks if he’s sure as they toast their beers together.

Nicole is sure that Rafe will figure out the whole story of Eli’s shooting. Rafe wishes he knew why Eli left that day and how he ended up facing the drug dealer that shot him. Nicole asks if he can’t find any witnesses. Rafe says not so far, so at this point Eli is the only one who knows what really happened.

TR tells Beth that he’s had to move some money around to cover some debts. Beth asks what Paulina has to do with that, unless he’s trying to get back with her because she’s rich. Beth asks if that’s how he will finance his film. TR warns her to keep her mouth shut because Paulina needs to believe that he’s a totally changed man. Beth realizes that’s so he can get his hands on her money.

Lani returns home where Paulina asks how she’s doing. Lani responds that she’s hanging in there and she hoped the kids behaved for her. Paulina says they tired themselves out and now are sleeping. Lani asks if Abe left. Paulina reveals that TR was there when Abe arrived and he didn’t react well and didn’t stay long. Lani notes that Abe is convinced that TR is bad news. Paulina understands but says it really does seem like TR has changed and he reminds her of the sweet guy she knew years ago before the drugs made him angry and abusive. Paulina talks about how good TR was with the babies. Lani acknowledges that it was nice of him to come by and help out. Paulina comments that TR could not have been more of a gentleman…

Chanel calls Allie, wondering where she is.

Allie questions Johnny as to what is going on. Johnny says it’s nothing and he’s fine. Devil Johnny tells her to get out and leave him alone while Johnny’s voice inside begs Allie for help. Allie asks what is happening to him as she wants to help him and she loves him. Johnny yells at her to leave him alone. Allie wants to take him to the hospital but Johnny transforms in to the Devil and screams at Allie to leave him alone.

Michael: That’s the advantage of this, considering the fact that i haven’t had a decent meal in weeks.

Lauren: Oh, the lobster enchiladas look good. Why don’t we start with those and a bottle of Society’s best wine and work our way through the menu.

Victor:  That’s a wonderful idea.

Michael: [ Chuckles ]

Victor: Let’s go for it. Be my guest.

Lauren: And all the wine in the world is not gonna erase the fact that Michael’s life was in danger and you, my friend, weren’t honest with me.

Victor: Now, your continued loyalty will be very well rewarded, okay?

Lauren: Unh-unh — continued?

Billy: Are you worried that you’re with a man that can’t keep a secret?

Lily: You can keep a secret.

Billy: Yeah, well, I’m having a really hard time with this one.

Lily: Okay, then tell me.

Billy: This really needs to stay between us for now.

Lily: Okay. [ Chuckles ] What’s up?

Billy: You know we always thought Ashland Locke was a back-stabbing piece of trash?

Lily: Yeah.

Billy: Well, it turns out he’s worse than that.

Lily: How is that possible? I mean, he stood by while his best friend died and lived under his name for decades and stole an inheritance and lied and cheated his way through most business deals.

Billy: And do you remember how he had cancer and went to Peru for a miracle treatment?

Lily: Yeah.

Billy: He lied about it all.

Lily: Which part?

Billy: All of it. He never had cancer. Didn’t go get a cure. He was never sick in the first place.

Lily: Wait, are you saying that he pretended that he had cancer?

Abby: Wow.

Ashland: Mm-hmm.

Abby: That’s amazing. That’s miraculous, even.

Ashland: Yes. And how’s your little miracle, um, Dominique?

Abby: Dominic.

Ashland: Yes, Dominic. He must be getting bigger every day.

General Hospital Updates

GH logo

Update written by Dustin

Carly and Sam arrive at yoga class.  Carly thanks Sam for dragging her out of the house.  Sam says at least it wasn’t kicking and screaming.  Sam says maybe they will actually find some serenity there.  At that point Maxie and Nina walk in and Carly replies, “So much for that.”  Maxie asks Nina if she wants to take a different class and Nina says that she will not be scared off, not by Carly and not by anyone else.  Carly tells Sam the same, she says she is not going to let Nina run her out.  Carly also tells Sam that Alexis was a huge help with the situation with Josslyn and Cameron.  Nina, seeing an opening, tells Maxie she is going to try to talk to Carly about the visitation situation with Wiley.  Maxie counsels against making such a move and says that it will end badly.  But, Nina is undeterred and asks Carly if she can speak with her about Wiley. Carly looks at Nina like she could throttle her right there in the yoga studio. Nina makes her wishes known and Carly shuts her down, telling her it is her own fault she is in the situation she’s in.  Nina is upset and decides to leave the yoga class, Maxie follows. Sam tells Carly that at least now they will have some peace.  Carly tells Sam that she could kill Nina for having the gall to even speak to her about Wiley.

Alexis and the writer of the story about Josslyn and Cameron celebrate the fact that it has gone viral. Harmony drops by Alexis’ office and apologizes for the string of lies she has told lately.  Alexis tells her that she has got to be honest from now on. Harmony says that she is so glad that Alexis’ troubles are in her past.  Alexis says why do I have the feeling that yours are not. Harmony has another flashback about being in Alexis’ bedroom and injecting Neil.. Harmony tells Alexis that she has decided to help Nina with her visitation problems. Alexis reminds Harmony that she has strongly advised her against getting involved there. But, Harmony is determined.

Harmony leaves the office and Diane arrives.  Diane tells Alexis her plan about getting Smoltz to drop the charges against Michael. However, Alexis doesn’t feel that this particular plan will work and tells Diane to come up with another one.  “I always do,” Diane says and she leaves Alexis’ office.

At the courthouse, Scott goes over what Trina can expect from the court proceedings.  He tells her that the Assistant District Attorney will announce the charges and whether or not they plan to seek a plea agreement.  Trina says and my plea is not guilty.  Scott agrees.  However, the ADA that Scott was hoping to be handling the case (Christina) is not lead Assistant District Attorney on this case.  It is Assistant District Attorney Arden and it is clear that Scott has a long history with the prosecutor by his reaction when she walks into the courtroom.  Assistant District Attorney Arden offers Trina a plea bargain if she pleads guilty to a misdemeanor, the prosecutor’s office will withdraw the felony charge and Trina will likely get no jail time and three years probation.  Scott points out that there is no guarantee that the judge will not sentence Trina to jail time and tells the prosecutor to shove the deal.

At the Metro Court, Michael and Willow meet with Diane and discuss how they do not want Michael’s arrest to provide Nina with ammunition to use to her advantage.  Diane says that it definitely will play into Nina’s hands.  But, she announces that she has a plan to make it all go away.  She excuses herself to go see Alexis. Michael apologizes to Willow for all the trouble he has put their family through.  Willow says that Michael was just defending their family and that is one of the things that she finds very attractive about Michael.  Michael asks her if there are more things that she finds attractive and Willow asks him how much time he has. Michael takes Willow’s hand, holds it softly and says, “for you…….forever.”

At Charlie’s, Esme lays it on thick for Nikolas and Spencer.  She declares how scary it was being threatened and attacked mercilessly by Sonny (none of which actually happened).  Spencer tells Esme that he went to the PCPD where he told Trina that he believes Esme. Esme becomes sick and runs to the restroom.  Nikolas tells Spencer he needs to be more gentle with Trina, especially with her possibly being pregnant.  Spencer inquire how Nikolas knows that and Nikolas tells him that Victor told him.  Spencer asks Nikolas if he and Esme can both move back into Wyndemere while they figure out their issues.  Nikolas does want Spencer to find out definitively if Esme is pregnant and he likes the idea of them being under the same roof but having plenty of space.  Nikolas agrees that Spencer and Esme can move into Wyndemere.

Trina is allowed to step outside the courtroom for some fresh air while being escorted by a bailiff.  Josslyn and Cameron arrive outside right as Trina is going to a break.  Trina asks what they are doing there.  Cameron says that nothing is more important than their friend.

The three of them are called back into the courtroom as Judge Oliver Young enters and begins reviewing the facts of the case.  He reads the charges and asks Trina how she will plead.  Trina looks uncertain what she will do.

Update written by Joseph

Lani sits at Eli’s bedside in the hospital and prays for God to bring her husband back and not to give up on him. Abe joins Lani and they hug. Abe asks if there’s any chance. Lani says no and cries that Eli is her entire world. Lani asks what she’s going to do if she loses him.

Rafe brings Beth to his office at the police station to sign her statement. Beth asks if there is a problem. Rafe says he’s reviewing everything and notes that the case is close to him, so he wants to make sure he gets it right for Eli. Beth is sorry for what happened to Eli. Rafe goes over Beth’s statement that Eli left during their meeting. Rafe asks if she has no idea why he left or where he was going.

Paulina babysits Jules and Carver. TR shows up. Paulina tells him it’s not a good time. TR informs her that Lani told him that she was watching the kids, so he thought she could use a little help.

Johnny finds Tripp in the town square. Tripp tries to walk away. Johnny jokes about their ex-girlfriends owning the bakery and having devil’s food cupcakes. Johnny points out that Allie and Chanel aren’t at the bakery, so they’re probably off somewhere making passionate love.

Chanel thanks Allie for letting her stay over. Allie assures that she loves having her here. Chanel points out that they work together all day and now they’re sleeping together all night, so she asks if she’s sick of her yet. Allie insists that she’s not. Allie and Chanel kiss each other until Nicole comes home and greets them. Chanel and Allie respond that it is a really good morning.

Beth informs Rafe that Eli only said he had something to do and he’d be back soon. Rafe goes over that Beth met with Eli to provide background information on TR Coates. Beth assures her and TR’s relationship is over now. Rafe notes that it also says during the time they were together, TR was never under the influence of drugs or physically abusive which Beth claims is correct. Rafe then hands her the statement and she signs it. Beth asks how Eli is doing. Rafe informs her that he’s still in a coma. Beth says that’s awful and she feels so bad for his wife. Rafe mentions being on his way to the hospital to see Lani now.

Abe encourages Lani that Eli is young and strong with so many reasons to fight his way back. Lani remarks that not everyone is so optimistic. Lani informs Abe that Valerie had to fly back to DC for work. Lani argues that Valerie wouldn’t have left if she thought Eli was going to wake up soon, so seeing her leave made this all so much more real to her. Lani tells Abe that they have to face that this could go on for a really long time. Abe urges her not to lose hope. Lani cries that she’s trying but it’s like no matter what choice she makes, someone is being neglected. Lani talks about the kids needing their mother but everything inside of her says she should be by Eli’s side in hopes that he will come back to her. Abe suggests agreeing with her heart. Lani says that Valerie was watching the kids and now Paulina is, but she can’t expect her to watch two babies full time. Lani cries that she needs a nanny but she feels like getting one is admitting to herself that Eli is never coming back. Abe assures that he would be happy to pitch in and help whenever she needs and so would Julie, as they are all here for her. Lani thanks him and says she feels really blessed to have so much support but taking care of twins is a lot for one person. Abe suggests maybe Paulina could use some help.

Paulina questions TR thinking he could help when he doesn’t know the first thing about babies. TR reveals that he bought the deluxe toddler package with toys, stuffed animals, and pacifiers. Paulina gives in to accept his help.

Tripp tells Johnny that he’s not getting to him. Johnny says he’s surprised. Tripp asks why since he already knows Chanel and Allie slept together since Johnny couldn’t wait to tell him on Valentine’s Day right after he proposed. Johnny claims that he just thought Tripp had a right to know that Allie was having sexual relations with his wife, behind Tripp’s back. Tripp argues that it happened one time. Johnny responds that as usual, Tripp is the last to know. Johnny declares that it’s not one time but like all the time, as he reveals that Allie and Chanel are a couple now.

Allie says good morning to Nicole as well. Nicole offers coffee but Chanel says she’s on her way out to see Lani at the hospital. Nicole sends her love. Chanel and Allie kiss goodbye as Chanel then exits. Nicole offers Allie some coffee. Allie thinks first they should talk about the elephant in the room. Allie informs Nicole that she and Chanel are obviously now a couple and asks if Nicole is not happy about it. Nicole responds that she’s wondering if this could possibly just be a rebound. Allie assures that it’s not. Nicole says she’s not judging her but points out that Tripp just called off the engagement. Allie knows it seems fast but says it’s really not because she was in denial about her feelings for so long. Allie knew she was attracted to Chanel but also to men and she didn’t know what that meant until Will helped her figure out that it means she’s bisexual. Allie says she’s still learning a ton but this feels right to her. Allie understands what she had with Tripp was real but so is what she has with Chanel. Allie declares that she and Chanel care about each other and want to be together as a couple. Nicole says she wants to support her and she’s there if she needs to talk about anything. Allie thanks her and says that means so much. Nicole asks if she and Chanel are out in the open. Allie says not exactly as they are not keeping it secret but she’s nervous about going public because Tripp doesn’t know yet.

Tripp calls it amazing how Johnny spends so much time gossiping and spreading false rumors. Johnny assures that it’s true as he saw Allie and Chanel all over each other in the town square and when he said they made a cute couple, they didn’t deny it. Tripp says he has to get to work. Johnny tells him that he can ask at the Bakery because he found out that Chanel and Allie spent the night together at Nicole’s place. Johnny jokes that’s the same bed that Allie and Tripp used to share. Johnny guesses he doesn’t need to clue him in anymore since Tripp said he doesn’t care. Johnny then sits down as Tripp walks away.

Rafe joins Lani in Eli’s hospital room. Rafe tells Lani that he’s so sorry this happened and that he couldn’t be there for her. Lani understands he was in jail for something he didn’t do. Rafe declares that he’s out now, so he’s going to do everything in his power to get to the bottom of this.

TR and Paulina get the twins to sleep. TR tells her that he doesn’t know anything about babies but he’s going to learn since Carver and Jules are his grandchildren too, so he wants to be there for them and get to know them. TR adds that he wants to prove to Paulina that she can trust him. Abe then arrives and is shocked to see TR answer the door.

Allie tells Nicole that Tripp doesn’t know but she knows he’s going to find out eventually. Allie guesses that Nicole thinks she should tell him, but she hates the idea of hurting him again. Nicole knows it would be hard, but if she were Tripp, she’d want to hear it from her.

Tripp runs in to Chanel at the hospital. Chanel tells him that she’s here to see Lani and says she should get going. Tripp remarks that he’s surprised she could tear herself away from her new girlfriend.

Beth goes to the DiMera Mansion and meets Johnny. Beth informs him that she’s the new Celeste in his movie and she had to tell him how she thinks the script is incredible, original, and fresh. Beth says she’s never been this excited about a project before and she’d love to get Johnny’s take on her character. Johnny calls Celeste is a kick ass character and her idiot soon to be ex-wife gave up the role. Beth calls it her gain. Johnny notes that she has a good look and he likes how bold she is, seeking him out and asking for his input. Beth wants to give him her best. Johnny hopes she gets the chance but reveals that she doesn’t have the role locked up yet. Beth argues that TR told her himself that she did. Johnny wonders why he would do that when he knows that Johnny has the final say on casting.

Abe tells Paulina that Lani told him that she would be watching the kids, so he thought she might need some help and he brought supplies from home. Paulina calls that very thoughtful of him and thanks him. Abe mentions dolls that Jules loves. Paulina reveals that TR brought supplies as well. TR knows how Abe feels about him but explains that Lani wanted to stay at the hospital with Eli, so he thought he’d come spend some time with his grandkids. Abe asks to speak to Paulina in private. TR steps away to check his e-mails. Abe tells Paulina that she may think it’s none of his business, but having TR here is a damn big mistake.

Rafe informs Lani that he’s been taking statements, reviewing evidence, and conducting interviews as he has questions about what happened in the park that day. Lani says they know what happened because she and Shawn were there. Rafe is not sure it’s as simple as it seems as he thinks there might be more to the story.

Chanel questions what Tripp is talking about. Tripp tells her to cut the crap as Johnny told him that she and Allie are together. Tripp tells her not to bother denying it since Johnny said he saw them getting it on in the town square and he knows she spent the night at Nicole’s. Chanel complains that Johnny has a big mouth. Chanel tells Tripp that this is not how they wanted him to find out. Tripp says he doesn’t care and tell her not to flatter herself. Chanel responds that she and Allie care about him a lot. Tripp recalls Chanel telling him that her and Allie was a one time thing. Chanel says that she had no idea they would end up together. Tripp argues that Chanel wanted Allie from day one and just couldn’t let them be happy. Tripp accuses Chanel of going after Johnny just to get under Allie’s skin. Chanel insists that she loved Johnny but he broke her heart. Tripp says if that’s true, it sucks for her, but he doesn’t think it is true because she sure got over Johnny quick.

Johnny guesses TR didn’t mention that detail when he offered Beth the part, which she confirms. Johnny calls that weird since he told Chanel and says that’s why Chanel came running to him to beg him to recast her because she knew that without his approval, she wasn’t getting out of her contract. Beth asks what he told her. Johnny explains that he agreed to cut Chanel loose if she dropped her lawsuit against him, but before she could get back to him, TR went ahead and signed Beth. Beth suggests they just got their wires crossed. Johnny disagrees, arguing that TR is a veteran producer and knew damn well that he didn’t have the authority to give Beth that role without his approval. Johnny wonders why he would do that and asks if she can shed any light on that.

Paulina agrees that it is none of Abe’s business. Abe brings up her history with TR and questions why the hell she would let him be around her and the twins. TR comes back over and says he knows they are talking about him so they can just get it out there. Abe tells TR that he doesn’t want him around Paulina, Lani, or his grandchildren. TR argues that he’s not the man he used to be and he’s trying to show them that. TR assures Abe that Paulina has nothing to fear from him. Paulina tells Abe that she’s fine and he can go. Abe says he’ll call her later just to make sure all is well as he then exits. TR points out that Abe does not like him. Paulina says he’s just being protective but TR suggests Abe is jealous.

Lani tells Rafe they can go over everything, starting with why Eli went to the park. Rafe says he will have to keep digging on that. Rafe brings up a theory that Eli sees Frank the drug dealer shooting up and went to arrest him and they fought over the gun, then Eli got shot. Lani asks why Frank wouldn’t run if that’s true. Rafe says that brings him to theory #2 that Eli sees Frank dealing drugs and goes to arrest him then they fought over the gun, then Eli got shot and Frank panicked about shooting a cop and overdosed to kill himself. Lani asks why he wouldn’t use the gun. Rafe suggests it could have been an accidental overdose but every scenario brings more questions than answers. Rafe adds that there are no witnesses or security footage. Lani declares that Eli is the only one who knows what happened that day. Lani prays that Eli will wake up and tell them what happened. Rafe says he’s going to try and find out more about the dealer. Rafe tells Lani to hang in there and he’s there if she needs anything. Rafe hugs her and says they will talk soon as he then exits the room.

Tripp argues that Chanel and Allie could have told him the truth at any point. Chanel says she’s sorry but Tripp doesn’t believe her. Tripp complains that he was stupid enough to believe that it was only two innocent kisses between Allie and Chanel or that Allie left Chanel’s house after comforting her that night. Tripp brings up how he came to check on Chanel after her break up and says she must have been laughing at him inside. Chanel says that’s not true and understands he’s upset. Chanel blames Johnny but Tripp remarks that at least Johnny told him the truth, which is more than Chanel and Allie have ever done. Tripp then storms off.

Johnny asks Beth why TR would go out on a limb for her. Beth explains that they have history and he knows her work, so he thought she’d be right for the role. Johnny argues that he knows how these things work in Hollywood and guesses she wanted the role while TR wanted something in return. Johnny remarks that if TR gave her the role in exchange for sexual favors, that could blow up in his face and that won’t happen because this is his big shot and no one will get in the way of that. Beth insists that she would never. Johnny argues that her word is not enough for him to stake his entire career on. Johnny tells Beth that he’s sorry but they are going to have to start looking for another actress. Beth swears that she didn’t sleep with TR and all she did was agree to keep quiet about his past. Johnny then turns and asks what past.

Paulina tells TR that Abe is not jealous because there’s nothing to be jealous of. Paulina assures there’s nothing going on between them and less than nothing between her and Abe. Paulina explains that Abe doesn’t know if he can trust her again, so there’s no hope for the future. TR says he’s sorry to hear that. TR knows he has a lot of work to do to earn her trust again and he intends to do it by proving himself through his actions a little more each day. TR tells Paulina that he wants to be a part of her life and he wants another chance to show her how good they can be together. TR declares that he’s never giving up on her. Paulina comments that he always was a sweet talker but the rest of it, she’s not so sure about. TR doesn’t blame her, but he hopes over time that she will see that he’s sincere and give him another chance.

Johnny asks Beth what happened in TR’s past and what he wants her to keep quiet about. Beth says it’s just some things she knows about him but it’s not important and she shouldn’t have said anything. Johnny tells her that secrets have a way of coming out but Beth says this one is dead and buried. Johnny asks who else knows about it. Beth says no one and that’s how she’s going to keep it. Beth tells Johnny that he can’t say anything to TR about this because she can’t lose this role. Johnny thinks he gets the picture now. Beth asks if he’s not firing her then. Johnny says no and that he will be in touch. Johnny says he looks forward to working with her as Beth then exits.

Tripp checks on Eli and tells Lani that there’s no changes but that means he’s stable so that’s something positive to hold on to. Tripp asks how Lani is doing and when she last slept or ate. Lani says she doesn’t even remember. Tripp encourages her to take care of herself too. Tripp offers to get her a sandwich and coffee on his break. Lani admits that would be great and thanks him. Lani adds that Paulina was right when she said Tripp was a great doctor.

Allie walks through the town square and gets a call from Chanel, who is crying at the hospital. Allie asks what’s wrong and if something happened to Eli. Chanel informs Allie that she ran in to Tripp and he knows they are a couple because Johnny told him and Tripp is not taking it well. Chanel cries that it’s like Johnny can’t help but make it worse and worse for them. Chanel says she needs to pull herself together to be there for Lani. Allie tells Chanel to call her after she sees Lani. Allie hangs up and declares that she knows who she has to see.

Abe runs in to Nicole outside the Brady Pub and tells her about what happened earlier. Nicole says she’s sorry as she knows seeing TR with his grandkids must have been uncomfortable. Abe admits he’s really worried about Paulina as he doesn’t like her spending time with TR. Nicole asks about TR saying he’s changed. Abe reveals that his ex-girlfriend Beth backs him up, claiming that TR never used drugs or laid a hand on her while they were together. Nicole asks if Abe believes that. Abe acknowledges that TR is saying and doing all the right things, but he just doesn’t trust him. Nicole reminds Abe of how abusive her father was and how he told everyone he changed but he didn’t and it’s rare that guys like that do. Abe says that’s what has him concerned but he doesn’t have the right to say anything since he’s not in Paulina’s life anymore. Abe decides he better get going and tells her it’s so good to see her as they hug. Nicole tells him to take care of himself.

TR holds Paulina’s hand until they are interrupted by a knock at the door and Rafe arrives. Rafe asks if Paulina has a minute. Paulina says to keep it down because the twins are sleeping. Paulina introduces TR to Rafe. Rafe reveals that he was just reinstated as police commissioner which Paulina calls wonderful. TR steps away while Paulina asks what she can do for Rafe. Rafe says that Lani said Abe was here, so he was hoping to talk to him about Eli’s shooting. Paulina informs him that he just missed Abe. Paulina talks about how glad she is that Rafe is back on the job and on this case. Paulina talks about being relieved that the low life junkie that shot Eli is dead. Rafe then reveals that Frank wasn’t a junkie as he just got off the phone with a reliable source, who said Frank didn’t use drugs and he only sold them. Rafe is now wondering how the hell Frank died of a massive overdose as TR looks on with worry.

Chanel enters Eli’s hospital room with flowers but sees Tripp and says she’ll come back. Lani asks her to stay and Tripp says he was just leaving. Chanel gives her flowers to Lani and says she’s so sorry. Tripp glares at Chanel and walks out of the room.

Devil Johnny says to Stefano’s portrait that everybody has a dirty little secret and he can’t wait to find out what TR’s is, so he can use it against him, just like he used Allie’s secret against her. Allie walks in and yells that she knows what Johnny did. She calls him a son of a bitch and tells him to turn around and face her.

Young & The Restless Update

Y&R logo

Recap written by Christine

Victor treated Lauren and Michael to lunch at Society. He said it was the least he could do after Michael spent time in that Peruvian prison. Lauren said all the wine in the world wouldn’t erase the fact that Michael’s life had been in danger, and Victor was dishonest with her. Victor appreciated Michael’s continued loyalty. Lauren made it clear that Michael was quitting. Michael said Ashland had him locked up, not Victor. Michael was personally involved in this fight, and he wasn’t walking away. Lauren was concerned because Michael just said Ashland was still a threat. Victor promised his protection, and Lauren countered that he didn’t keep Michael safe before. Michael said it wasn’t the worst prison he’d ever been in. Lauren didn’t think that was funny. Victor said Michael’s next assignment would be local. Victor wanted Michael to look at the Newman Locke merger contract and find a loophole they could use to get Ashland out of the company. Michael asked where things stood with Victoria and Ashland. Victor said Victoria knew everything, and she had a plan that she wouldn’t disclose. Sadly, Victoria was still in love with Ashland, so Victor wasn’t going to leave this in her hands. Victor said Ashland needed to be dealt with swiftly and severely.

After Victor left, Michael kept ordering wine, and Lauren asked if he was trying to get her drunk. The thought had crossed her mind. She said she wasn’t going to change her mind about him working for Victor. He tried to charm her into being okay with it. She said he had no idea how hard it was for her, not knowing he was okay. She informed him that he’d be spending the rest of his life making it up to her. He agreed. He said he was fine and safe. She wanted him to stay that way. She reminded him he retired because he wanted to spend more time with her. He said he’d be so attentive that she’d be begging him for a restraining order. He felt he had to see this case through, for himself, not Victor. He was adamant that Ashland needed to be held accountable for keeping him and Lauren apart and making her worry. When Michael was locked up, he thought of three things – coming home to his gorgeous wife, celebrating with his family, and making sure Ashland reaped what he’d sown.

At Crimson Lights, Billy swore Lily to secrecy, then he told her everything Victoria confided in him about Ashland faking his illness. Lily was appalled Ashland pretended to have cancer. She saw it as an insult to cancer sufferers and their loved ones. Billy said that Victoria and Ashland’s conversation ended in hugs and kisses. Nikki and Nick came in, and Billy asked if they’d heard from Victoria. Lily shared that Billy filled her in. Nikki knew that Lily understood. Lily said she wouldn’t say a word, though she had choice ones for Locke. Billy didn’t want to butt in, he was just hoping Victoria ended things with Ashland.

Nick and Nikki said Victoria was being tight-lipped. Nikki thought Victoria needed time to come to terms with who Ashland really was. Nick said they had to get Ashland out of Victoria’s life immediately. Billy agreed and added that Victoria might not be thinking logically. Lily noted that Victoria made tough decisions every day. Nikki agreed and said this was in Victoria’s hands. Nikki had to leave.

Nick asked what Billy’s thoughts were. Billy had legal thoughts, and illegal ones. Nick said no one in the family had been able to get Victoria to see reason, so against his better judgment, he was turning to Billy. Nick thought Billy was the best one to try and get through to Victoria. Billy said Victor would love Billy saving the day. Nick said Billy could gloat all he wanted once Victoria was safe. If Billy did this, Nick would never forget it. Billy didn’t think he was the right guy for this. He’d talked to Victoria about Ashland, when Nick was there, and she’d walked away. Nick thought that the fact that Victoria confided in Billy earlier, when they were alone, was significant. She hadn’t opened up to anyone else in the family about her anger. Lily thought Nikki was right when she said Victoria should take the lead. Nick said time was of the essence, and he thought Billy was their best shot.

Lily and Billy were alone. He could see she didn’t like the idea of him getting involved. She didn’t want him making an enemy of Ashland. “He’s despised me for a long time, and I’m still standing,” Billy replied. He promised Lily that she’d be safe. He said that Ashland was more dangerous than they thought, and he didn’t want Ashland near Johnny and Katie. Billy was going to talk to Victoria one more time. Lily grudgingly agreed. He promised he’d fix this. He thanked her and said he loved her, then they kissed.

Victoria and Ashland were in her office. She had some loose ends to tie up at the office, and she asked him to go home and pack their bags and grab something from Society for the flight. He had a feeling she was trying to get rid of him, but she said she just had everything under control. He was hoping to hear her say she loved him and that they were okay. She said they were fantastic, but they might not be if they didn’t get on the jet. He didn’t think her response was the most enthusiastic. She wanted to make a pact to believe each other, and he accepted. He couldn’t wait to get her to Italy, all to himself. “Maybe we’ll just never come back,” he said. He went into the hall and closed the door, and he let out a big exhale.

Sally went to Adam’s office and told him to tell her what the fire was, and they’d figure it out together. She asked what the latest was on Victoria and the big bad wolf. Adam didn’t know, since he’d been out of the loop since Victoria’s ill-fated intervention. He said his family only wanted him around when he was useful, and when they didn’t need him anymore, he was out in the cold. Sally suggested there was nothing new to report. Adam was naturally suspicious of the Newmans, especially his dad. He said she’d pick up on the subtleties as she spent more time with them. She replied that there was nothing subtle about Adam and Victor’s dynamic.

Sally shifted gears and brought up Newman Locke. Adam said Newman Locke would face consequences from what Ashland did, especially if Victoria stood by him. He thought there would definitely be a change at the top. Sally said it could be Adam. He said she’d be right there with him. She said that if they were going to pull this off, they had to be proactive. He decided to reach out to his father, to find out what was going on, then he’d make a plan of his own. Victor showed up and wanted a moment alone with Adam. Adam said he’d already told Sally everything. Victor said this was about family, not business, but Adam said it was about both. Victor relented and let Sally stay.

Victor said Victoria claimed she had a plan, but she wouldn’t share what it was. “You don’t believe her, do you?,” Adam asked. “I mean, I didn’t realize that Billy was pretending to be a lush, and she wanted me fired, now she’s gonna put the whole future of the company at risk,” Adam said. He asked if they were supposed to sit by and let Victoria bury them deeper. Victor said the company was as important to Victoria as it was to the rest of them. Adam thought Victoria was going to try to protect her public image, and maybe even her marriage. Adam asked if Victor could really trust Victoria to do what was right for Newman. Victor wished Adam would stop vilifying his sister, who was the victim in all this. Adam said Victoria ignored the warning signs and made Ashland co-CEO. Victoria called Victor and asked him to come to her office and bring Adam.

Victoria gathered her parents and brothers at her office. She said she and Ashland were leaving for Tuscany. Victor wanted to know Victoria’s plan, since the fate of the company depended on it. Victoria didn’t want to say. Nikki had the utmost respect for Victoria, but this plan was ill advised. Victoria asked Nikki to trust her. Victoria said that while Victoria was gallivanting around Tuscany, he was appointing Adam the temporary CEO of Newman Enterprises. “No, I don’t need a replacement,” Victoria said. She apologized for the misunderstanding and clarified that she could handle running things from Italy. Victor said there was no misunderstanding – he wanted Adam running things while Victoria was gone.

Nate was shocked to run into Ashland at Society. he thought Ashland would’ve left town. Ashland said he’d been dealing with baseless rumors his entire life. “For God’s sake, give it up,” Nate replied. Ashland said there was nothing he could say or do to convince Nate of the truth. Nate had seen the evidence. Ashland was sorry he’d lost Nate’s trust and friendship. As someone who’d once considered Ashland a friend and defended him, Nate had advice. He told Ashland to stop lying and tell Victoria the truth and to do the right thing for once in his life.

Who the hell are you,” Jack demanded of “Taylor.” He, Taylor and Allie were at Keemo’s old house in LA. “You know me, Jack. You know exactly who I am,” “Taylor” replied. Jack turned to Allie and asked if she was part of this. Allie had no idea what was going on. She asked Taylor if she knew Jack and if that was why she bought the house. “Her name isn’t Taylor. Her name is Diane Jenkins. And she shouldn’t be here. That woman died. That woman was buried, and believe it or not, she was mourned,” Jack replied. Diane was happy to see Jack again. She’d imagined this moment for a very long time. Allie wanted Jack to explain what he meant when he said Diane was dead. Diane stated that that a huge part of her died in Genoa City – she was lost and desperate, and so much hate and anger was directed toward her. Jack sarcastically said that Diane had been an innocent bystander. Diane admitted that she caused the trouble in her life. She’d had a vision of escaping and starting over, but it didn’t go as planned. Jack snarled that Diane left nothing but destruction, anger and upset, and she only thought about herself. Diane said she thought so much about Jack and Kyle. Allie was distraught about having been dragged into all this. Jack told Allie to forget she ever met Diane, a vengeful and vicious woman. “Her fight is with me!,” he yelled. Diane didn’t bring Jack here for a fight. She wanted to apologize. Allie confronted Diane about lying to her, coming into Keemo’s house with a fake name, acting like a guardian angel. “My father died, and you waited to exploit him and me,” Allie cried. Jack said everything Diane did was for Diane’s benefit. He said there was no forgiveness and no understanding.

Diane admitted she made mistakes, but she said she’d changed. Jack yelled that everything Diane did she did on purpose. At least when Diane was dead, he knew she couldn’t hurt anyone ever again. He said now she was dragging his granddaughter into this. Diane explained that she reached out to Allie for Jack and gave him back a piece of Keemo. Allie was disgusted Diane handed her over like some kind of prize. Diane saw it as a gift to Allie and to Jack. Allie thought Diane was evil, and she didn’t want to be involved in this. She was going to leave. Diane didn’t want Allie to take this out on Jack. Allie looked back at Jack, then she left. Jack called Diane poison, and he left too.

Allie and Jack went back to the outdoor cafe. He thanked her for agreeing to meet him. She swore she had no idea who Diane was, or what she wanted. Taylor – Diane had just seemed like this kind woman who bought Keemo’s house. Allie never thought of herself as dumb, or naive. Jack didn’t want Allie to let this shake her self confidence – Diane had conned people older and supposedly wiser than Allie. Allie asked what Jack meant when he said he thought Diane was dead. Jack said there was a memorial service, with her young son grieving in the front pew. People who knew the truth about Diane had tried to find something kind to say for her son’s sake. Allie thought that it was awful for Diane to turn her back on her own son and walk away. She asked how Jack knew Diane. “The child she walked away from was our son,” Jack revealed.

Allie was stunned Diane was Jack’s wife. Jack clarified that he and Diane were never married. He said the situation was complicated, but he considered Kyle one of the greatest gifts of his life. It had been hard on Jack to see Kyle grieving and struggling. Allie asked when this happened. Jack said Kyle was a child at the time, and now he was a man with a wife and son. Jack said a wound like that never went away, though. Allie understood. She digested the fact that Kyle spent all these years thinking his mother was dead. Jack said Kyle thought his mother had been the victim of a gruesome murder. Jack said all Diane’s lies had been exposed after her “death,” and people Kyle cared about were implicated, and it was all a lie. Jack continually told Kyle that Diane loved him more than anything. Jack wondered what kind of mother let her child suffer like that. Jack was so sorry Allie got dragged into all this. Allie didn’t understand what Diane thought would happen. She said Diane pretended to die and abandoned her son. Allie wondered why Diane decided to come back now. Jack guessed Diane thought she could manipulate her way into forgiveness. Jack was sure that no one in Genoa City would ever forgive or forget what happened. Jack told Allie that getting to know her was a blessing, and he didn’t want anything to get in the way.

Back at the house, Diane looked upset. She texted Jack and asked him to come back, because there was more to say.

Jack received the text and told Allie about it. She asked what he was going to do. He wanted to ignore the text and pretend Diane didn’t exist, but he guessed it was too late for that.

SORRY, THE ENDING IS MISSING; WE’LL HAVE TO PUT IT UP NEXT WEEK

Victor: No, thank you, I know this menu by heart. Thank you. So this is my treat. It’s the least I can do for the hardships you must have endured in that peruvian prison.

Lauren: The very least.

Michael: I intend on taking full advantage of this, considering the fact that i haven’t had a decent meal in weeks.

[ Chuckles ] No. No, no, no. Good luck finding his replacement.

Michael: Victor didn’t have me locked up. That was ashland. He’s giving me a very personal reason to bring him down. I’m not walking away from this fight. Not now.

Lily: Two coffees, please. Thank you.

Billy: Hey.

Lily: Hey.

Ashland: [ Sighs ]

Victoria: I will be ready to go to tuscany as soon as I tie up a few loose ends.

Ashland: Yeah, you do realize that there’s nothing you can’t do from cruising altitude, right?

Victoria: [ Chuckles ] Yes, but it won’t take me long.

Ashland: Well, how can i help?

Victoria: You know how you could help? You could run home and you could throw a few of our things in a bag and make sure that everything’s locked up tight, and maybe you could stop off and get us some food for the flight. You wouldn’t mind running by society, would you?

Ashland: Why do I get the feeling you’re trying to get rid of me?

Victoria: [ Laughs ] No, not at all.

Ashland: Well, then there must be something I can do around here to lighten the load.

Victoria: I have everything under control. I’ll be ready before you know it.

Ashland: Music to my ears. You know what else I love the sound of?

Victoria: What?

Ashland: You telling me that you love me and that we’re okay.

Sally: Okay. Tell me where the fire is, and we will put it out together. What is the latest in the sordid tale of princess victoria and the big, bad wolf?

Adam: I would not know. My father hasn’t said anything to me since victoria’s ill-fated intervention. My family only wants me around when I can be useful, and when they have decided they don’t need me anymore, I’m left out in the cold.

Sally: Or maybe there’s just nothing new to report.

Adam: Mm, possibly. But I am naturally suspicious when it comes to the newmans, especially my dad. You’ll pick up on all the subtleties as you spend more time with us.

Sally: [ Chuckles ] Hate to break it to you, but there is nothing subtle about you and your dad’s unique dynamic.

Lily: God, why would ashland make up such a horrible story?

Billy: Because he assumed correctly that if he told everyone he was dying from cancer, he would seem harmless and vulnerable. Not the kind of guy that was about to steal his new wife’s corporation.

Lily: So he was just lying about everything — the doctor appointments, the chemo side effects.

Billy: All of it.

Lily: My god, it’s — what an insult to anyone who has had cancer or loves someone who’s survived it.

Billy: Yeah. He’s a bad man.

Lily: I can’t even imagine how victoria must be feeling.

Billy: Well, that’s the thing, neither can I.

Lily: What do you mean?

Billy: [ Sighs ] When she was telling me about ashland, she was very hurt and furious, and I thought the next time that they were face-to-face she was gonna rip him to shreds.

Lily: Well, what changed your mind?

Billy: When they did have that conversation, there was no fighting, nothing. It ended in hugs and kisses. He has a way of getting to her. Maybe I can get answers from them.

Nikki: Oh.

Billy: Is there any word from victoria?

Lily: Billy told me what’s going on.

Nikki: I assumed that he would. I know you understand.

Lily: Don’t worry, I won’t say a word, although I do have some choice ones for locke.

Billy: Look, I don’t want to butt in, I just want to hear that victoria’s doing the right thing and she told ashland exactly how she feels about him. Do not tell me that she is forgiving that son of a bitch.

Jack: Who the hell are you?

Taylor: You know me, jack. You know exactly who I am.

Jack: Were you part of this?

Allie: I don’t even know what

this is. Wait, I don’t understand — you guys know each other? Taylor, is this why you bought my —

Jack: Her name isn’t taylor. Her name is diane jenkins, and she shouldn’t be here. That woman died. That woman was buried. And believe it or not, she was mourned.

Taylor: It’s good to see you again, jack. I’ve…I’ve imagined this moment for a very long time.

Allie: You — what do you mean, jack, she was dead?

Taylor: And it was true in a way. A huge part of me died in genoa city. I was so lost and so desperate, and all this anger and hatred directed towards me.

Jack: And you had nothing to do with that. You were just an innocent bystander, right?

Taylor: It was the darkest time in my life, and, yes, it was my doing. I just had this vision of escaping, of starting over, only none of it went as I planned, and it — it took me a very long time to come to terms with how i failed.

Jack: You left nothing but destruction behind. Anger. And upset. All you could think about was yourself.

Taylor: No, that’s not true. If you knew how much I thought about you and kyle —

Allie: No, stop, stop it. I don’t know what you dragged me into — fake names and deaths.

Jack: Allie, allie, look at me. Look at me. Forget you ever met this woman. Wipe her out of your mind. She is nothing but vengeful and vicious, and her fight is with me.

Taylor: Jack, I didn’t bring you here for a fight. I did all this so I could explain, so I could — so i could show you how sorry I am for all the pain I caused.

Allie: No, you lied to me. You came into my father’s house with a fake name, acting — acting like some guardian angel, trying to give me advice. My father died, and you waited to exploit him and me?

Jack: It’s all she knows. It’s who she is to her core. Everything she does is for her benefit. There is no forgiveness, diane. There is no understanding, and if you thought otherwise, that was your mistake.

Lauren: I’m sorry, michael, but did or did you not just finish telling me how dangerous locke was and that he’s capable of anything? And based on everything that you’ve said, he’s still a threat to us.

Victor: No, I promise both of you that neither one of you will be in danger, okay?

Lauren: Well, no offense, but your protection did not keep michael safe in peru or bring him home. He had to rescue himself.

Victor: Lauren, I’m very sorry my team didn’t get to him first, but they were awfully close.

Michael: As prisons go, I’ve been in worse, so…

Lauren: [ Chuckles ] So not amused.

Michael: Yeah, I could tell because that’s — that’s her “that’s not funny” face.

Lauren: Yeah, this — this comes with a side of “don’t even think about going in for a second serving of locke.”

Victor: I want to rest assured that michael’s next assignment will not require him to leave this zip code.

Michael: Totally local?

Victor: Yeah, right here in genoa city.

Michael: Okay. What is it?

Victor: I need you to take a close look at the locke/newman enterprises merger contract. I want you to find any loophole, any clause that allows us to kick that bastard to the curb.

Michael: Alright, but before I start, I need to know something. Where do things stand between victoria and her husband?

Victoria: We’re fine.

[ Sighs ] We’re fantastic, even. But we might not be if we don’t get on that jet.

Ashland: Not the most enthusiastic response, but I’ll take it.

Victoria: Let’s make a pact. I believe you and you believe me.

Ashland: You know I do.

Victoria: Then trust me when I say this is all gonna work out.

Ashland: Okay. I think italy is gonna be great for us, and I cannot wait to get you there alone all to myself. And who knows? Maybe we’ll just never come back.

[ Exhales sharply ] If you have advanced non-small cell lung cancer,

Nick: I wish I could tell everybody what they want to hear, but victoria’s being very tight-lipped about what she’s gonna do about ashland.

Nikki: We do know she’s determined to do it on her own.

Billy: Well, I really hope this plan is legit because, from what we saw, it was not the messy break-up I was expecting.

Nikki: I think victoria needs to take some time to come to terms with who ashland really is.

Nick: We don’t have time for that. We have to get this guy out of her life immediately.

Billy: I agree with nick. She may not be thinking logically.

Lily: Victoria makes tough decisions every day. I think she can handle this.

Nikki: Lily’s right. This is victoria’s problem to solve. She doesn’t need any of us hovering around her. It’s in her hands now.

Adam: My dynamics with my father lack subtlety? Ouch.

Sally: [ Chuckles ] Okay, let’s just put that aside for a second. Focus less on the parent and more on the parent company.

Adam: Um…that is all I’ve been able to think about ever since we last discussed this. There is going to be consequences for newman/locke, given what ashland did. Especially if victoria stands by him.

Sally: Well, no one could’ve seen this coming, at least not so soon after the marriage the merger. It leaves the whole company on shaky ground. But do you know what this calls for?

Adam: A strong leader, because there’s definitely gonna be a change at the top.

Sally: And it could be you if you play your cards right.

Adam: And if that happens, you will be right there with me.

Sally: Good. ‘Cause I like it here.

Adam: Well, you’re creative. Always think five steps ahead.

Sally: Well, if we’re gonna pull this off, we have to be proactive.

Adam: You mean buck the family tradition of letting victoria spiral out of control and drag the company down with her?

Sally: Even if you don’t know what’s going on in the inner sanctum, that shouldn’t stop you from making moves.

Adam: Well, nothing can. And no one will. Okay? I’m beginning to see this whole thing very clearly.

Sally: Hmm. Well, what will you do first?

Adam: Reach out to my father, because if I want to be in the loop, I need to put myself there. And I need to make plan of my own.

Sally: Well, I already know that it’s going to be incredible.

Taylor: I was that person. I did those things, all of those mistakes, but that is not who i am now.

Jack: Those weren’t mistakes. You know damn well everything you did you did on purpose. I can’t believe you can stand there and try to explain yourself.

Taylor: I know it’s a lot to take in, jack.

Jack: All you left behind was damage. At least when you were dead, i knew you couldn’t hurt anyone ever again.

Taylor: [ Scoffs ]

Jack: Now you’re back, and, what, you’re dragging my granddaughter into this?

Taylor: I reached out to allie for you. I made this possible. Jack, I gave you back a piece of your heart, a piece of keemo.

Allie: Oh, my god. It’s like I’m not even here. You got what you wanted, which was to hand me over like some sort of prize.

Taylor: No, a gift. A gift for both of you.

Allie: He’s right. You are evil. I don’t know you, and I don’t want any part of this.

Jack: Wait, wait, allie.

Taylor: Allie, please. Please, please. I’m sorry I deceived you. But jack is such a good man. Please don’t take this out on him. Please don’t lose what you just found. P–

[ Exhales sharply ]

Jack: You are and have always been poison. Why give your family just any eggs

Nikki: Alright, I have to run. Please contact me if you hear anything.

Nick: You have my word.

Nikki: Thanks. Good to see you, lily.

Lily: You too.

Nikki: Billy.

Nick: So what are you thinking?

Billy: You want the legal thoughts or the illegal thoughts?

Lily: He’s — he’s kidding. There’s nothing illegal.

Billy: How the hell do we stop ashland? How do we stop victoria from going back to him?

Nick: Listen, billy, nobody in our family has been able to get victoria to see reason. So, against my better judgment, I think our best plan of attack here is to turn to you.

Billy: Me? Why?

Nick: I hate admitting it, but I think you’re the best person to try and get through to her. So would you consider having a conversation with her?

Billy: Your father would love that, huh? Billy boy abbott the screw-up saving the day.

Nick: You can gloat all you want once victoria is safe. I only care about her safety, so if you do this favor for me, i promise you I will never, ever forget it.

Victor: By the way, victoria is fully aware of everything that ashland locke has done.

Lauren: Oh, then where are the sirens and the helicopters? Because if he had tried that with me…

Victor: She claims she has a plan of her own to deal with him.

Lauren: You sound skeptical.

Victor: For good reason. She didn’t explain to us what her plan was. She asked us to just trust her.

Michael: Sounds like you’re not quite ready to do that.

Victor: What you’ve got to know is that, tragically and sadly, my daughter is very much in love with that bastard, okay? He has a strong hold on her.

Lauren: Then you’re not going to leave it entirely in victoria’s hands, right?

Victor: No. Ashland locke needs to be dealt with swiftly and severely.

Michael: It’s the only way.

Lauren: [ Sighs ] Looks like we’re gonna need another bottle of wine.

Jack: Thank you for agreeing to meet me. If you wanted to cut me completely out of your life, i wouldn’t blame you. Listen. Diane was aiming for me, and you got caught in the crossfire.

Allie: You know that I had no idea, right? I didn’t know who she was or — or what she wanted. I mean, taylor — diane was just this nice woman who — who bought my father’s house and then gave me advice.

[ Scoffs ] She seemed kind and understanding. I have never thought of myself as dumb or —

Jack: Wait, wait, wait, don’t let her undermine your self-confidence. She has conned older and supposedly wiser people than you.

Allie: What did you both mean you thought she was dead?

Jack: Actually dead. Complete with memorial service, with her young son grieving in the front pew. Where people who knew who and what diane was tried, for his sake, to find something kind to say about a woman they knew was pure destruction.

Allie: [ Sighs ] That’s awful. To turn your back on your son and then just — just walk away. How do you even know this woman?

Jack: The child she walked away from was our son. What’s the #1 retinol brand

“The young and the restless”

will continue.

Allie: That woman is your wife?

Jack: Diane and I were never married. When I say it’s complicated, you have no idea, but kyle was — kyle is one of the greatest gifts of my life, and to see him struggle, to see him in pain, to see him grieving with confusion…

Allie: When did this happen?

Jack: He was just a kid. He’s a man now. He’s a husband, a father, but a wound like that —

Allie: I bet it never goes away.

Jack: No, it never goes away.

Allie: All these years, he thought she was dead.

Jack: Not just dead, murdered in gruesome fashion. All of her lies exposed, people kyle cared about implicated, and it was all a lie. And I defended her. How many times did I tell him, “your mother loved you more than anything”? What kind of mother lets her child suffer like that?

Michael: Oh, andy, more wine.

Lauren: Are you trying to get me drunk?

Michael: The thought has crossed my mind.

Lauren: [ Chuckles ] Well, victor certainly knows how to spoil someone after inflicting untold damage, pain, and worry. It doesn’t matter how many bottles of wine we have, I am not gonna change my mind about you working for him.

Michael: What if I tried one of my tried-and-true methods of convincing you to make a 180 by sweeping you off your feet and dancing with you until you feel better about me staying on?

Lauren: No, no, no, no, you are not gonna litigate your way through this. You have no idea how hard that was for me. Not being able to talk to you, to not know if you were okay.

Michael: I’m so sorry.

Lauren: You’re gonna spend the rest of your life making that up to me.

Michael: Absolutely. And I’m fine. I’m home safe.

Lauren: Yes, and I want you to stay that way. Do you remember why you decided to leave the da’s office? Because you wanted to enjoy the fruits of your labor. You wanted to spend more time together.

Michael: I intend to make up for every moment we have been kept apart. I will be so annoyingly attentive that you will be begging, you will be begging for a restraining order.

Lauren: That is impossible.

[ Chuckles ]

Michael: A challenge — i like that. But for now…I need to see this through.

Lauren: For victor.

Michael: For me. Ashland locke is the person who kept us apart. Ashland locke is the person who made you worry, and it’s time someone held him accountable.

Lauren: But why does it have to be you?

Michael: When I was locked away and wasn’t sure how things would turn out, I thought of three things — coming home to my gorgeous wife, celebrating with my family, and seeing to it that locke reaps everything he’s sown.

Billy: I am as worried about victoria as you are, but I’m not the right guy. I talked to her about ashland already. You were standing right there. She walked away from both of us.

Nick: But before that, when you two were alone, you said that she had opened up to you, that she talked about ashland and what he had done to her and how hurt she was.

Billy: Yeah, and I just don’t think that there’s anything else that I can say to push her in the right direction.

Nick: Billy, the fact that she confided in you is very significant. She hasn’t shared her anger about locke to anyone in the family. She showed a lot of faith in you. She might be more open to what you have to say to her.

Lily: I think nikki was right when she said to let victoria take the lead. I mean, this is her fight.

Nick: I get your concerns, lily, but time is of the essence here. And I still think you are our best shot. So what do you say? Will you talk to victoria, just one last time?

Adam: I have a vision for newman/locke that I think will surprise all my detractors. Dad.

Victor: I want to bring you up to date about what’s going on, okay?& I’m sure your coo wouldn’t mind giving us some privacy.

Adam: Oh, that actually won’t be necessary. I’ve told her everything.

Victor: Son, this is none of her business. It’s about family.

Adam: Well, it’s about both, actually.& Victoria’s choice in men affects newman media.

Victor: Alright, you can stay.

Adam: So what is the latest?

Victor: Well, victoria claims she knows how to handle things and she has a plan.

Adam: Has she told you what this mysterious plan is?

Victor: No, not exactly.

Adam: I mean, you don’t believe her, do you? I mean, I didn’t realize that billy was pretending to be a lush, and she wanted me fired. Now she’s gonna put the whole future of the company at risk, and what are we supposed to do, just sit by and let her bury us deeper?

Victor: This company is as important to her as it is to all of us.

Adam: I suspect that she will try to protect her public image, maybe even her marriage. She’ll think about how she’ll be perceived, how the company will be perceived if the news ever got out. But we have to look out for our reputation. Now, given everything you stand to lose, do you really think you can trust victoria to do what’s right for newman?

Victor: I will handle things. Okay?

Adam: How?

Victor: I wish you would stop vilifying your sister. She’s the victim in this.

Adam: She was warned more times than one. She knew who locke was. Even before she let him sign the contract to be co-ceo, there were warning signs and she ignored them. And now she needs to be stopped.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Victor: I will take care of things, okay? It’s your sister. Yes, honey.

Victoria: I’m glad I reached you. I’d like you to meet me in my office. And bring adam.

Victor: Alright. We’ll be over there. Your sister wants to see us. Let’s go.

It’s the most wonderful

time of the year,

Jack: I am so sorry you were dragged into all this.

Allie: I don’t understand what she thinks will happen. She pretended to die. That was her choice. And then she abandoned her son and let people think she was murdered. And of all the times she could’ve come back, she chooses now?

Jack: I guess she thought she could manipulate her way into forgiveness. I don’t — I don’t know. I do know this. Anyone in genoa city who knew her…will never forgive. They will never forget.

Nate: You’re the last person I expected to see around here. I assumed you’d leave town.

Ashland: Why would I do that? I have no reason to flee. I have been dealing with baseless rumors my entire life.

Nate: Baseless rumors. Are you still trying to convince me that’s all this is? You’re the poor, misunderstood victim of your powerful enemies.

Ashland: Yeah.

Nate: For god’s sake, give it up.

Billy: You don’t have to tell me, I know that you don’t think it’s a good idea that I talk to victoria about ashland.

Lily: No, I hate it.

Billy: What do you think could happen?

Lily: Um, I don’t know, ashland adds you to his growing list of enemies.

Billy: Well, he’s despised me for a long time, and I’m still standing.

Lily: Why don’t you let someone else fight this battle?

Billy: Look, lily, first of all, I’m not gonna let anything happen to you. But ashland is more dangerous than we even thought, and the stakes are even higher. And I don’t want him anywhere near johnny or katie. So I think it’s the right thing to do. I’ve got to try one more time to get through to victoria.

Lily: Okay.

Billy: Hey. I’ll fix this before you know it. Thank you. I love you.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Adam: Happy to see the gang’s all here. Hopefully that means there’s some good news to share.

Nikki: Nicholas and I haven’t heard a word yet.

Nick: Vick wouldn’t tell us what’s going on until you arrived.

Victoria: Because I only want to say this once, and once I’ve given you my decision, I hope that you’ll abide by it and respect it.

Adam: Oh, this can’t be good.

Victoria: Ashland is leaving for tuscany tonight, and I’ll be joining him.

Nikki: What? You have got to be kidding.

Nick: You can’t be serious.

Victoria: I told him that we need to distance ourselves from the barrage of attacks that are consistently coming from my family.

Victor: So you do have a plan? Why don’t you tell us what it is? Because the fate of this company and the family depends on your next move. For copd,

Ashland: You know what, nate? Believe what you want.

[ Sighs ] There is obviously nothing I can say or do to convince you of the truth.

Nate: I know the facts. I’ve seen the evidence. Do you really think you can make this all go away by pretending none of it’s real?

Ashland: I am truly sorry that I’ve lost your trust and your friendship.

Nate: Do you really mean that?

Ashland: Yes, I do.

Nate: Well, if our friendship really meant something to you, then take this last bit of advice from someone who defended you, who enjoyed your company. Stop lying. Tell victoria the truth. Don’t let her live with this conflict and suspicion she must have. For once in your life, do the right thing.

Victoria: Is that a request, dad, or a demand?

Victor: How about both?

Nick: Why are you still shutting us out?

Victoria: I’m just simply trying to handle things my own way.

Sam: [ Sigh ]

Carly: Thanks for dragging me here.

Sam: Oh, well, at least it wasn’t kicking and screaming.

Carly: Almost. But I really needed to come, you know, so I could just clear my mind.

Sam: Good.

Carly: So.

Sam: Hopefully you can have some serenity in here.

Carly: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, hope so. Well, so much for that.

Esme: I keep playing it over and over in my head. If you and Victor hadn’t shown up when you did, who knows what Sonny would have done to me.

Spencer: I still can’t believe that my uncle had you kidnapped.

Esme: Really? Because here I was betting you thought I deserved it.

Scott: So, here’s what happens today. You enter your plea. The ADA will recommend bail. Of course, I will argue against that as to why you should be free. Then the judge will decide whether or not there is bail and how much.

Trina: And my plea is “not guilty.”

Scott: Bingo.

Portia: Sounds easy enough, right?

Curtis: You’ll be out of here before you know it.

Female Reporter: Well.

Alexis: Well, we’re trending. I mean, I knew this would do well locally, but the wires picked it up and it has gone national. I mean, it’s huge.

Female reporter: [ Chuckles ]

Josslyn: Did you see the article?

Cameron: It’s hard not to. I feel like it’s everywhere.

Josslyn: Yeah. That’s probably ‘cause it is. How do you feel about that?

Willow: We just do not want this to escalate.

Michael: Uh, yeah, for a lot of reasons. The main one being that my family had enough to deal with right now. Their focus should be on Josslyn. But I know we’re just worried that the charges could hurt us if Nina petitions for visitation.

Diane: Oh, they can. And they will.

Nina: [ Sighs ]

Maxie: Do you want to take a different class?

Nina: No.

Maxie: Are you sure?

Nina: I won’t be scared off, Maxie. Not by Carly or anyone else. Come on.

Maxie: Okay.

Carly: I hate that I run into Nina everywhere I go. It’s like that game at the carnival when you whack the mole and it pops up in another hole.

Sam: Okay, Okay. Look, we can leave if you want–

Carly: Oh, hell, no. I’m not leaving. I’m staying right here.

Sam: Really?

Carly: I’m not gonna let that bitch run me out of here.

Spencer: Of course I don’t think that you deserve to be kidnapped.

Esme: I don’t know. Your track record of siding with other people lately over me lately is pretty strong.

Spencer: I love my Uncle Sonny, but do I always condone his actions? No.

Esme: [ Sighing ] He was so angry, and…threatening.

Nikolas: Well, considering he believes you took that video of Josslyn and Cameron, I’m not surprised.

Esme: What else has to happen for people to believe it wasn’t me? The police made an arrest.

Nikolas: Have you heard the latest?

Spencer: I went to see Trina at the PCPD.

Esme: [ Scoffs ] Of course you did. So while I was being hauled off by some goon to face the wrath of your beloved uncle, you were professing your undying devotion to Trina?

Spencer: Actually, that’s not what—

Esme: No, no, no. That’s just great, Spence. I hope you two are very happy tog–

Spencer: Esme.

Esme: What?!

Spencer: If you’d let me get a word in, you’d know I told Trina that I believe you.

Molly: Curtis. Hi.

Curtis: Molly. Hey. I, um—I was wondering if you were gonna be the ADA on this case.

Molly: Well, I’m–I’m working under ADA Arden, but yes.

Curtis: Mm.

Molly: I hope this isn’t too awkward, me prosecuting Portia’s daughter.

Curtis: No, you, uh – you’re doing your job. I get it.

Molly: Between you and me, I was surprised when I found out Trina was the defendant. She seems like such a good person.

Curtis: She is. That’s why I have faith that justice will prevail. I’m gonna get back in there. Good seeing you.

Molly: Yeah, of course. You too.

Curtis: Alright.

Molly: [ Sighs ]

Scott: So, I, uh, heard that there’s a possible plea deal coming. I spoke to my man in the DA’s office, but nothing’s been decided yet. Oh, damn.

ADA Arden: Mr. Baldwin.

Scott: Mr. Arden. Uh, what’s going on? I though Ms. Lansing-Davis was prosecuting this case.

ADA Arden: Yes, I’m sure you were counting on that. Molly is second chair on this trial. I’ll be prosecuting. Unless your client chooses to take the deal I’m about to offer.

[ Dramatic music ]

Nina: Hey! Why do you keep staring at them?

Maxie: Do you feel it? You could cut the tension in here with a knife. I’m very thankful we don’t have any of those, by the way, because the last thing we need right now are weapons.

Nina: Would you please try and relax?

Maxie: Well, that’s the idea. But this is beyond cringey.

Nina: For who?

Maxie: Me.

Nina: Oh, I am so sorry, Maxie. I’ve often thought about how difficult this is for you.

Maxie: Point taken. Okay. Change of topic.

Nina: Please.

Maxie: How is visitation going with Wiley? I’ve been so busy with the Deception IPO that I think I’ve lost track of what’s going on.

Nina: Well, my goal is to avoid involving the courts.

Maxie: Oh, so Michael and Willow are letting you visit with Wiley?

Nina: Not quite, but I may have found someone who can change that.

Alexis: Hi.

Harmony: HI. I hope you don’t mind that I just dropped by. Things felt a little unsettled this morning.

Alexis: Yeah, when you forgot to tell me that you had already been in my house indoctrinating my daughter.

Harmony: Yeah. Alexis, I’m so sorry for what I did to Kristina and—and for not telling you. Especially after you’ve been so kind to let me into your home. So, uh…if you want me to leave…

Alexis: I understand that your past has been problematic. But in the present, you need to be forthright from now on, okay?

Harmony: Okay.

Alexis: Because that way, it’s fine. You can stay in the house until you find someplace that’s right for you.

Harmony: I hope it won’t take that long. And as soon as I save up for a deposit, I’m gonna be out of your hair, I promise. Thank you.

Alexis: It’s a good thing I’m feeling generous today.

Harmony: [ Sighs ] I take it the article was a success?

Alexis: Actually, it was. I think I might be finding my groove back in my second act. I haven’t felt this good since before I fell off the wagon.

Harmony: I’m just so happy that, you know, it seems like your troubles are a thing of the past. Finally.

Alexis: And why do I have the feeling that yours aren’t?

Michael: I was defending my sister. Right? Do you really think a judge is gonna hold that against me?

Diane: Depends on the judge. But worrying about it at this juncture is premature. Nina has yet to file a petition for visitation.

Michael: I just – I want to be prepared in case she does.

Diane: Okay. Um…Nina’s counsel could use the assault charge to argue that Nina will provide a more stabilizing influence for Wiley.

Michael: What?

Diane: Considering that you are prone to punching reporters and defense attorneys.

Willow: Scott never pressed charges for that.

Michael: Right, and look, we – we have piles of evidence that proves that Nina is – is anything but stable.

Diane: Okay. Could also use it to impugn your character – casting Nina in an even more sympathetic light.

Michael: My character?

Diane: Mm-hmm.

Michael: Okay, Nina let everybody believe that my father was dead. What – What rational person would have sympathy for her after that?

Diane: Michael, Willow. This is all moot.

Willow: It is?

Diane: Mm-hmm. Because I have a plan to make it all go away.

Carly: [ Sighs ] It’s not working. Every time I close my eyes, I see Josslyn’s face.

Sam: You know, after you showed me that article, I reread it. And I am super impressed with Joss and Cam’s bravery.

Carly: Right? Me too. Yeah. And a lot of credit goes to your mom. Yeah, I mean, that article really struck a chord with people. It’s trending everywhere.

Sam: Is that a good thing?

Carly: Yes and no. I mean, it’s great because it’s telling Joss and Cam’s side of the story, but…

Sam: But so many people are reading Joss and Cam’s side of the story.

Carly: Yeah. I mean, it’s just shining a bigger spotlight on Josslyn and Cam, so when are they gonna be able to get back to their normal lives?

Sam: Have you talked to Joss about it?

Carly: She was asleep when I left for work this morning, but she texted me and she sounds great. She sounds strong.

Sam: Wow. Like mother, like daughter.

Carly: [ Chuckles ]

Sam: She’s gonna be okay, Carly.

Carly: She is.

Cameron: Is it just me, or does it feel like we’re living under a microscope?

Josslyn: Oh, it’s not just you. My phone’s been blowing up.

Cameron: Reporters asking for follow-up statements?

Josslyn: Oh, yeah. And I think I’ve decided to never leave the house again. Not until this whole thing dies down.

Cameron: I could say “I told you so”…

Josslyn: Oh, but you won’t?

Cameron: Look. This is exactly why I didn’t want to do the interview.

Josslyn: No, I still think that the good outweighs the bad. Oh, how’d that thing at school go? Did you get the issue resolved with the registrar?

Cameron: Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it was — it was weird to be back in public.

Josslyn: Yeah, I bet.

Cameron: All those people whispering and staring.

Josslyn: Oh, I made myself stop reading all comments on social media. It’s insane. I mean, after all of our transparency, people still think that they know our experience better than we do. It’s messed up.

Cameron: Yeah. There was a few good moments, though. Yeah, this, um — this girl came up to me on campus.

Josslyn: What girl? I need a name.

Cameron: [ Chuckles ] No, she — she said that she admired us for speaking out. Apparently, that makes me a feminist.

Josslyn: I did see a handful of comments saying they respected us for calling attention to the issue. Some women even said that they might want to share their stories.

Cameron: That’s really cool.

Josslyn: Yeah. [ Sighs ]

Cameron: So, I guess… …I’m not huge on the extra attention that we’ve been getting. But in the end, I think we made the right decision.

Josslyn: Well, I think it’s my turn to say “I told you so.”

Cameron: It’s still hard, okay?

Josslyn: Yes, I know. I know. But maybe if we just focus on the specks of positive and we try to ignore all or most of the negative, you know, things will get easier.

Cameron: Mm. I’m game.

Josslyn: I mean, now that the article’s out, there’s nothing really to brace ourselves for. You know? We took a lot of control back.

Cameron: [ Inhales deeply ] This will not define us for the rest of our lives.

Josslyn: We won’t let it.

Diane: We should try offering something to Smoltz in exchange for dropping the charges.

Michael: Like?

Diane: Like you or someone close to you providing information for one of his stories.

Michael: Yeah, I mean, I’d be down for that. Mm-hmm. As long as the piece isn’t damaging to my family.

Diane: Well, of course not. So, let me brainstorm with Alexis. We’ll see what bait we can dangle to Smoltz. I’ll be in touch.

Michael: Thanks, Diane. Look, I’m sorry.

Willow: Why?

Michael: [ Sighs ] For jeopardizing our ability to block Nina from Wiley.

Willow: You don’t know that, Michael.

Michael: Well, it’s a pretty good assumption.

Willow: And even if you have, there’s zero reason to apologize. I love that you stood up for Josslyn. The fact that you’re protective of your family is one of the things that made me fall for you.

Michael: One of the things? You’re saying there’s — there’s — there’s more?

Willow: Many.

Michael: Oh, yeah? I’d — I’d love to hear.

Willow: Oh, what, like a list?

Michael: Whatever form suits you.

Willow: Okay. How much time do you have?

Michael: For you? Forever.

Harmony: I’m gonna go see Willow and Michael, and I’ve been thinking a lot about Nina’s request.

Alexis: To — to convince Michael and Willow to allow her visitation.

Harmony: Yeah. I’ve decided to help her.

Alexis: And I advised you not to do that. So why — why are you entertaining that?

Harmony: [ Sighs ] I don’t know. I just — I… I just felt bad for Nina. She’s had so much loss, and — and if I can help her by being kind, I mean, shouldn’t I?

Alexis: That’s very generous. Not smart, but generous.

Harmony: [ Sighs ] I just don’t want Willow to hate me.

Alexis: Willow is not gonna hate you. She’s not gonna like it, but she’s not gonna hate you. This is not gonna tank your relationship with her.

Harmony: I hope you’re right.

Alexis: You need to have some faith in your daughter.

Harmony: Mm. Thanks for listening.

Alexis: Anytime.

Harmony: And, Alexis… I’m really happy for you that you’ve got your life back on track. It must feel good.

Alexis: It does. It feels really good.

Esme: I…didn’t think you had it in you to stand up to Trina. And I’m glad you did, but I can’t forget all the horrible things you said, Spence.

Nikolas: It’s been a rough day. Maybe you should save this conversation for later, when everyone’s had a chance to regroup.

Esme: It’s no use, Mr. Cassadine. No matter how much time Spence takes, he’s made it clear that he’ll always believe the worst in me. Excuse me. I feel sick. Um…

Nikolas: You should try being a little gentler, given that she might be pregnant.

Spencer: How did you know that?

Nikolas: Victor told me. He’s worried about you — and Esme.

Spencer: You seem pretty concerned about Esme, too.

Nikolas: I’m more worried about you. Whatever else is between us, you’re my son, and I want to help you.

Spencer: Esme insisted that she was innocent. Swore that Trina wasn’t who she seemed. For so long, I trusted Esme over everyone else. I don’t know why I didn’t this time.

Nikolas: Well, that’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? You’ve developed feelings for Trina.

Scott: Well, let’s hear it. What’s the deal you have for my client?

Ada Arden: If Ms. Robinson pleads guilty to the misdemeanor charge of cyber sexual harassment, we’ll drop the felony charge of unlawful surveillance and we’ll recommend to the judge three years of probation with a fine of $1,000. This way, Trina avoids jail time.

Curtis: Um, there’s no guarantee that the judge won’t decide to give Trina jail time anyway.

ADA Arden: That’s the risk you take.

Trina: What do you think?

Scott: I think that the DA’s office can take this deal and shove it.

Molly: Trina, it’s a good deal. If you’re convicted of a felony, you could spend time in a higher-security prison. Not to mention, you’ll lose certain civil rights.

Scott: Okay. Okay. Now I need to confer with my client.

ADA Arden: Do it fast. DA Scorpio is being overly generous with this offer. It won’t be on the table for long.

Portia: Yeah, I don’t know about this. If Trina pleads guilty, it’s gonna be on her record for the rest of her life. And let’s not forget, she’s innocent. She did not do what she’s being accused of doing. Mr. Baldwin, that has to count for something, right?

Curtis: Of course it does.

Scott: Trina, it’s your decision. What do you want to do?

Trina: If I take the plea deal, I may not have to go to jail.

Portia: “May” — may being the operative word. I don’t like it. I don’t like it at all.

Curtis: I don’t like it, either. On the other hand, if the judge does sentence you to jail time, it would be a minimum-security prison.

Portia: Where she’ll be serving time for a crime that she didn’t do.

Curtis: I know.

Scott: Well, u-unfortunately, that’s not the way it works. She could be spending a year in Pentonville.

Portia: No. No. No way.

Trina: But if I plead not guilty and I’m found guilty for a felony, that’s even more jail time.

Scott: Well, that could be 2 to 5 years and/or probation, but time likely served in Pentonville.

Trina: Why’d you say to shove the deal?

Scott: Well, because that’s the way prosecutors work. They want to get a conviction. They don’t want to go to trial. It costs too much money and time, and they don’t know how the outcome is gonna be, so they start tacking on all these other charges. Then they present this shiny deal and it looks good in comparison. Now, I’ve seen all the evidence, and it’s not airtight, and I can almost guarantee you that the jury will come back with a “not guilty.”

Trina: “Almost.”

Scott: Well, that’s the rub, kid.

Curtis: Look, Trina. Let’s not think about this in terms of guarantees, okay? I want you to think about what you feel comfortable with and the outcome that you can live with.

Cameron: I can’t believe they found the phone in Trina’s backpack.

Josslyn: I don’t care what they found, because Trina would never do that to us. But I know somebody who would.

Cameron: Esme.

Josslyn: She’s good. She’s good. I’ll give her that. She framed Trina perfectly. Oh, I could — I could literally kill her.

Cameron: Please don’t. I cannot bear to have you serving jail time.

Josslyn: Can you imagine how scared Trina must be? She’s all by herself. She’s accused of something she didn’t do. The look on her face when they arrested her — I-I can’t get it out of my head, Cam.

Cameron: Isn’t her arraignment today? We should go.

Josslyn: Are — are you sure? I mean, there’ll be reporters everywhere.

Cameron: We can deal with that. Our friend is more important.

Josslyn: I’ll drive.

Willow: [ Yawns ]

Michael: I saw that.

Willow: Sorry. I was up late studying. [ Sighs ]

Michael: [ Groans lightly ] Come on. Are you, um — are you okay? If you need to go to get checked out, we can always reschedule with your mom.

Willow: [ Chuckles ] The only medicine I need is more iced tea.

Michael: Uh, and food.

Willow: Don’t worry. I learned my lesson. No more skipping meals for this girl. I am taking much better care of myself.

Michael: Okay, well, good, because I don’t know what I’d do if anything happened to you, so don’t make me find out.

Willow: I won’t. Hey, mom.

Harmony: Hi, sweetheart. Mm! Hey, Michael.

Michael: Hey. Look, I, uh — I just wanted to thank you for helping Willow out the other night. I-I’m grateful you were able to help her when I couldn’t.

Harmony: Yeah, of course. I would do anything for my daughter.

Sam: I’m in fear of Scout growing up.

Carly: It’s hard, right? I mean, you want to teach them to be mindful of all the dangers in the world, but at the same time, you want to encourage them to be open and fearless. It’s just… [ Sighs ]

Sam: I know, talk about walking a tightrope.

Carly: Totally.

Sam: I want Scout to be smart with her choices, but I don’t want to scare her.

Carly: You would think with all the progress that we’ve made, we wouldn’t have to worry about that. But just ask Josslyn. I mean, it’s like society has found new ways to be cruel.

Sam: Oh, well, if Scout can be half as tough as Joss… then I’ll be a happy mom.

Carly: Hey, you don’t have anything to worry about. And you’re a great mom.

Maxie: You asked Harmony to help you with Wiley?

Nina: Yeah. I mean, she’s Willow’s mother.

Maxie: Yeah, and from what I understand, not on the best terms with her.

Nina: No, but that’s changing. It is. Harmony and Willow are working on repairing their relationship.

Maxie: Okay, do you really think Harmony lobbying on your behalf is the best idea? It seems a bit risky to ask her to go against her own kid.

Nina: Yeah, Maxie, I’ve thought about all of that. But I am running out of options. If Harmony doesn’t come through for me, then I’m afraid my only choice is go the legal route.

Nikolas: You’re going through really complicated stuff. I mean, have you even had a chance to process what a pregnancy would mean?

Spencer: It means I would be a father. We do not know if Esme is even pregnant yet, okay? So…

Nikolas: Well, this is what I know. Esme is afraid and alone, and when I drove her back from Sonny’s office, she was shaking the whole time. And that can’t be good for a baby.

Spencer: If there is a baby. God, there’s just been so much hurt and distrust between us, right?

Nikolas: Yeah, I understand that, okay? And I’m not — I’m not even saying that you two should get back together. But I do think you need to find a way to navigate this.

Spencer: I’m open to suggestions.

Diane: The article was phenomenal. I’m so proud of Josslyn.

Alexis: And Cameron.

Diane: And you. Nicely done, Ms. Editor-in-Chief.

Alexis: It was a labor of love.

Diane: I can tell.

Alexis: Did you come all the way over here to tell me how great I am? I’m not complaining.

Diane: No. Actually, I need your help. You got a minute for your bestie?

Trina: Am I allowed to go to the hallway? Just to clear my mind for a minute.

Curtis: Can she go stretch her legs for a minute?

Officer: Yeah, I’ll take her.

Portia: Oh, okay. Come on, sweetie.

Trina: Um, I love you, and I appreciate you so much for being here, but…

Portia: You just — you want to be alone right now?

Trina: Or as alone as I can be.

Officer: It’ll be like I’m invisible.

Trina: Is that okay with you?

Portia: Of course. Whatever you need.

Trina: Okay. Thank you.

Portia: What is going on right now? Plea deals, prison time? The only thing Trina should have to worry about as a freshman is where she’s going to spring break. Not dealing with all this.

Curtis: I know. But everything will be fine because she has you. And I am absolutely here for you in any way you need me.

Portia: I love you.

Curtis: I love you, too, baby. We got this.

Josslyn: Trina!

Cameron: Hey, do you need some extra company?

Trina: What are you guys doing here?

Josslyn: Where else would we be?

Trina: I just thought you guys want to keep a low profile.

Cameron: Not today.

Willow: I keep telling myself there’s no reason to worry since Nina hasn’t filed a petition yet. But it’s hard not to.

Harmony: Well, do you think maybe Nina’s changed her mind about taking you to court? That she’s realized that being at odds with you is just not the best strategy?

Michael: Well, I’m not counting on it. Nina feels that it’s the only way to see Wiley. It’s just a matter of time.

Harmony: It’s so awful thinking about him in the middle of all this, his family fighting over him.

Willow: We hate it, too. And of course, we’ll shield him as much as possible.

Harmony: Yeah, but, you know, he’s growing up. He’s picking up on everything now.

Willow: Basically a human sponge.

Harmony: Who, if Nina is awarded visitation, he’s gonna be the one to feel the resentment between the people that he loves.

Michael: Yeah, well, that’s just, uh, something we’ll have to deal with as it comes.

Harmony: Or… or not, maybe. Listen, like, what — what if you granted Nina informal visitation and you could control the terms, and — and Wiley would be protected from all that fighting? What?

Michael: I don’t know. It sounds like you want Nina to see Wiley.

Willow: Do you?

Instructor: Okay, class is gonna start in just a few minutes, so make sure you have enough water. It’s gonna get hot in here.

Carly: Yeah.

Sam: Okay.

[ Laughter ]

Nina: Carly, uh… I-I heard about what Josslyn’s going through, and I’m really sorry. It’s horrible, but the good news is, Josslyn is tough, so if anyone can handle it, she can.

Maxie: That wasn’t terrible.

Nina: It was not terrible, was it? Hey, maybe there’s another way, huh? I haven’t tried talking to Carly about Wiley again.

Maxie: There’s a reason for that.

Nina: Well, I know my odds are not great, but for Wiley’s sake, I have to try to keep it out of the courts, right? I mean, what kind of grandmother would I be if I didn’t try everything?

Maxie: Okay. Just be careful. Everything is still so raw for Carly. You don’t want to make things worse.

Nina: Oh, and can things get worse?

Maxie: Yes.

Nina: Here I go.

Maxie: This is a bad idea.

Nina: Uh, Carly… wish me luck.

Maxie: No. Abort. Abort.

Nina: I’d like to talk to you about Wiley.

Trina: So, taking the deal and pleading guilty is probably my best chance of avoiding jail time.

Josslyn: But you’re not guilty.

Trina: I know. A-and the thought of saying I did this awful thing when I didn’t is just… and not to mention, a guilty verdict will be on my record forever.

Cameron: But if pleading guilty prevents you from doing any jail time, the people that matter know that you’re innocent.

Josslyn: I get that line of thinking. Okay, playing it safe.

Cameron: But you disagree?

Josslyn: Yeah. I think you should fight it.

Trina: Really?

Josslyn: Trina, you didn’t do it. And I’ll testify to that.

Cameron: Me, as well.

Trina: Thank you. But I-I don’t know how that’ll counter the evidence.

Josslyn: Planted evidence.

Trina: It’s still enough to convince some people. And if those people are on the jury…

Josslyn: Well, we’re here for you. Okay? No matter what you decide.

Officer: Time to head back in.

Cameron: You got this.

Bailiff: All rise. The honorable Judge Oliver young presiding.

Spencer: How are you feeling?

Esme: You don’t have to act like you care.

Spencer: I do care. I want to make sure you’re okay.

Esme: My stomach’s not feeling so great. Um, I think I’ll just head back to my room at Kely’s. And hopefully this time, no one grabs me and shoves me in a car.

Nikolas: Sonny won’t bother you anymore.

Esme: You don’t know that. I-I mean, it’s not like he doesn’t have access to the rooms. His ex-mother-in-law owns the building. If Sonny wants me, he can get to me at any time.

Spencer: Father, would it be alright if Esme stayed at Wyndemere? I’ll move in, too.

Esme: Really? You would do that?

Spencer: That way, you won’t be alone. And we can figure out next steps. If you give the okay.

Diane: This is about your reporter, Smoltz.

Alexis: Smoltz is not my reporter.

Diane: Well, Smoltz does freelance for the invader, yes?

Alexis: From time to time.

Diane: I’m trying to entice him to drop the charges against Michael.

Alexis: Yeah, he came running over here to report about that incident.

Diane: Personally, I think Michael was justified.

Alexis: I’m sure he was.

Diane: Except he did punch the man, and he did it right in front of the police commissioner.

Alexis: So Michael’s best chances are, then, if the charges get dropped.

Diane: Precisely. So I’m thinking, is there something, is there some bait that we can dangle in front of Smoltz? Perhaps a juicy story for which either Michael or one of the Quartermaines could be the source.

Alexis: What I can tell you about our little friend is he’s got a big, huge ego and he’s very greedy. And he hates me because I rejected his version of Josslyn and Cameron’s story and gave it to a responsible reporter to handle it appropriately.

Diane: For which Josslyn and Cameron and their respective families, I’m sure, are eternally grateful.

Alexis: It’s also very unlikely that I can convince Smoltz of anything. I’m sorry.

Diane: Don’t be. Your instinct to deny that bottom-feeder the story was spot-on. I will simply have to think of a different strategy.

Alexis: You always do.

Diane: [ Chuckles ]

Harmony: I was just thinking about what’s best for the whole family, you know? No long, drawn-out court battle for you, and Wiley would just get another grandmother who loves him.

Willow: I’m sorry. I’m con– I’m confused. [ Scoffs ] You know the pain Nina inflicted on Wiley. On Wiley’s entire extended family.

Harmony: I understand.

Michael: I don’t — I don’t think you do, Harmony, ’cause how could you ever trust Nina again? Not only because of what she pulled with my father, but the things that she said to Wiley.

Willow: Mom, did Nina ask you to lobby on her behalf?

Harmony: Y-yes. Yeah. Nina approached me and asked me —

Willow: A-and you agreed?

Michael: I don’t believe this.

Willow: To try and co-opt my own mother…

Michael: Yeah, nothing’s too low for Nina, she’s proven that.

Willow: Did she actually think it would work? Did you?

Harmony: Oh, my loyalty is to you, Willow, not Nina.

Michael: That’s kind of questionable at this point.

Harmony: I’m sorry if you guys think that I acted otherwise. I just — she just — Nina got me thinking, you know, that what would be in the best interest for Wiley is that if you could just settle this amongst yourselves, that’s all.

Willow: I know what this is really about.

Carly: I am not chatting with you about my grandson…

Nina: Our grandson.

Carly: …As if you didn’t throw a huge grenade in our life.

Nina: Well, Carly, I was hoping that we could maybe work together when necessary, like we did with Gladys when she was upset about Sasha and Brando.

Carly: That was a very special circumstance.

Nina: No, it wasn’t that different than this. We found a way to coexist, right? Due to our shared concern for Sasha. Can’t we do the same for Wiley?

Carly: No.

Nina: We can’t put our personal problems aside for that little boy? Why not?

Carly: Oh. [ Scoffs ] Well, let’s see. Because Sasha’s life wasn’t turned upside down because you kept her grandfather from her family. So save your concern, because you didn’t have any when you lied to Sonny or when you made a scene at his funeral or when you told Wiley that Nelle was his real mommy. So stop, Nina. Leave me and my family alone.

Nina: You can’t deny that we share a grandson.

Carly: Oh, the way you denied that Sonny had a wife and children?

Nina: Wiley is the only part of my daughter left out there in the world. You will not keep me from him. I will be in his life. And I am sorry if you and Michael have a problem with that.

Carly: Oh, my god, look at you! You are such the victim. Acting as if Michael and I are the issue, that we did this. You did this to yourself.

Judge Young: The defendant will rise. One count of cyber sexual harassment. One count of unlawful surveillance in the second degree. How does the defendant plead?

Nikolas: There’s certainly more security at Wyndemere than my mother’s, let alone Kelly’s. And… you feel safe there? Give the two of you a chance to figure things out with both proximity and space, should you need it.

Spencer: So, is that a yes?

Esme: Wait, I… I need to make sure that this is actually what you want, because if you’re not comfortable —

Spencer: It was my idea, remember? I wouldn’t have offered if I didn’t want to.

Esme: Okay.

Nikolas: [ Chuckles ] All eyes on me, huh?

Spencer: It is your home.

Nikolas: And I’m happy to share it. I think it’s what’s best for both of you right now.

Esme: Then it’s settled. Spence and I will move in.

Carly: You could have had a role in Wiley’s life. But at every turn, you made choices that put you at odds with Wiley’s family. So if you’re looking for someone to blame, go find a mirror.

Nina: It’s not about blame, Carly. It’s about this little boy. And nothing and no one will stop me from fighting for him.

Carly: Do you hear yourself? I mean, you’re not talking about Wiley like he’s a person with emotions and needs. You’re not even thinking about what’s best for Wiley. This is about you and your need to stay connected to your dead daughter. And you want to use Wiley to make you happy. You don’t give a damn about how it affects him. I do.

Nina: I’m leaving.

Maxie: Okay. I knew this was going to happen.

Carly: I hate her. I hate her. And I’m trying not to engage, but I hate Nina.

Sam: Stop. First of all, Nina is the one who engaged. You stuck up for yourself, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Carly: Yeah. Thank you.

Sam: And as an added bonus, you got Nina to leave. Now we get to breathe and relax and enjoy ourselves.

Carly: Huh. Well, that is a plus.

Willow: You have sympathy for Nina. And I get it. I’m sure it hits close to home, makes you think of all the time we lost.

Harmony: Yeah. Yes, it does. Um, you know, being separated from your child — I wouldn’t — I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

Michael: But I mean, you — you do understand, though, that this situation is — is different.

Willow: I have thought about Nina’s perspective, mom, from pretty much every possible angle, but our first concern is what’s best for Wiley.

Michael: Yeah, and Nina isn’t it. But we — we can’t — we can’t reach an agreement with her.

Harmony: Understood. Truly. I won’t bring it up again. I’m sorry.

Willow: Don’t be. I had compassion for Nina, too. Once upon a time, at least.

Michael: Well, must be genetic. Chuckles ]

Unknown Man: Been a long time, Ms. Davis.

Alexis: It’s you.

On the next “General Hospital” —

Spencer (to Esme): Why haven’t you taken that home pregnancy test yet?

Ava (to Joss and Cam): I know it’s difficult for you to trust me, but this time you’re gonna have to.

Scott: I’m gonna have to hear you say it.

Alexis: Oh, I never forget a face.

Nina (to Harmony): Michael and Willow want a fight, they’ll get a fight.

Brick (to Sonny): My brother, that’s not for you.

Trina: I plead…

Lani: Please, god, bring my husband back. I know he’s fighting as hard as he can, but he needs your help. So please don’t give up on him. Our children need him and I need him. Please.

[Monitor beeping]

Abe: Hey, sweethearT.

Lani: Hey.

Abe: Any change?

[Monitor beeping]

Lani: Eli is my entire world. What am I gonna do if I lose him?

Rafe: Thank you for coming in, ms. Howard.

Beth: Uh, you said you need me to sign my statement?

Rafe: Yes. Before you do, I just wanna go over a few things.

Beth: Is there a problem?

Rafe: No. I’m reviewing everything. The grants are two of my best detectives. They’re also personal friends of mine, so this is close to me and I want to make sure I get it right, for eli.

Beth: I’m so sorry about what happened to him.

Rafe: YeaH. So it says here in your statement that you came in to meet with detective grant and during that meeting, he left.

Beth: That’s right.

Rafe: But you have no idea why he left or where he was going? Is that accurate?

Paulina: [Scoffs] Jules and carver grant, it’s time to go to sleep. Uh-uh, don’t look at me like that, girlfriend, I just fed you. Oh!

[Knock at door] Oh, come in, it’s open. Uh! It is not a good time.

Tr: I stopped by the hospital earlier to visit lani. She said that you were watching the kids.

Paulina: And?

Tr: I thought you could use a little helP.

Johnny: What’s up, doc? You know, just because our exes own that bakery doesn’t mean we can’t partake. I mean, these devil food… cupcakes are to die foR. You should get some before they run ouT.

Tripp: I’ll pass.

Johnny: If you’re worried about running into allie, she’s not in there. Neither is chaneL. They’re probably off somewhere, making passionate love.

Chanel: Thanks for letting me stay over.

Allie: You do not have to thank me, dupree. I love having your here.

Chanel: Are you sure you’re not sick of me?

Allie: Are you sure you’re not fishing for compliments?

Chanel: We’re working together all day and now we’re sleeping together all night. That is a legit question.

Allie: I’m not sick of you. Are you sick of me?

Chanel: Hmm. Let me see if I can answer that.

[Door opens]

Nicole: Oh. Good morninG.

Allie: It is a good morning.

Chanel: Really good.

Male announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the “days of our lives.”

[Soft orchestration]

Beth: All detective grant said was that he had something to do and he’d be back soon.

Rafe: Mm-hmM. And the reason you met with him was to provide background information on tr coates with whom you have a relationship.

Beth: Had. In the past. It’s over now.

Rafe: Okay. Got you. It also says during that time, while you were together, he never was under the influence of drugs or was physically abusivE. Is that correct?

Beth: Yes.

Rafe: Okay. All right, well, just sign on the x there at the bottom, please.

Beth: How is detective grant?

Rafe: He’s still in a coma.

Beth: That’s awful. I feel so bad for his wife.

Rafe: Yeah, me too. In fact, i’m on my way to the hospital to see her right noW.

Abe: Eli is young. He’s strong. He has so many reasons to fight his way back.

Lani: Not everyone is so optimistic, dad.

Abe: What do you mean?

Lani: I just said goodbye to valerie. She had had to fly back to dc for work.

Abe: That must’ve been very difficult for her. But she’s a doctor.

Lani: Exactly. And she left. She wouldn’t have done that if she thought eli was gonna wake up soon. And seeing her leave, it made all this so much more real for me. We have to face it, dad. This can go on for a really long time.

Abe: Sweetheart, you can’t lose hope.

LanI: I’m trying. But it’s like no matter what choice I make, someone is being neglected.

Abe: What do you mean?

LanI: Obviously, the kids, they need their mother and I miss them so much, but everything inside of me says that I should be here by his side and that if I just hold his hand and tell him how much I love him that he will come back to me.

Abe: If that’s what your heart is telling you, then this is right where you need to be.

Lani: And what about child care? Valerie was at the house with jules and carver and now paulina is there.

Abe: Okay, so you’re covereD.

Lani: For now. But I can’t expect her to watch two babies full-time, dad. I need a nanny, but I feel like if I get one, I am admitting to myself that eli is never coming back.

Abe: Sweetheart, sweetheart, sweetheart. You’re admitting nothing. You’re just simply looking out after your needs until we get through this. Sweetheart, you don’t have to hire anyone. I–I would be happy, I would be happy to pitch in and help you whenever you need me. And so would julie. We’re all here for you.

Lani: Thank you, dad. I feel really blessed to have so much support. But taking care of twins, dad, is a lot for one person.

Abe: And you said that paulina is there with them? Well, maybe she can use some help.

Paula: On what planet do you think that you can help? You don’t know the first thing about babies.

Tr: But the woman at the store sure did.

Paulina: What store?

Tr: Where I bought the deluxe toddler package. Toys, stuffed animals, pacifierS. You name it. There’s gotta be something in here you can usE. Like maybe right now?

[Babies fussing]

Paulina: Okay, fine.

Tripp: Now, if you’re trying to get to me, johnny, you’re not.

Johnny: Really? I’m surprised.

Tripp: Why? I already know allie and chanel slept together because you just couldn’t wait to tell me, on valentine’s day, no less, and right after I’d just proposed to your sister.

Johnny: Look, tripp, I just– I thought you had a right to know that allie’s been having sexual relations with my wife behind your back.

Tripp: It happened one time.

Johnny: Ooh, man. As usual, you’re the last to know.

Tripp: Know what?

Tripp: It’s not one time. It’s, like, all the time. Allie and chanel are a couple now.

Allie: What we meant to say is good morning to you too, nicole.

Nicole: [Chuckles] Well, thank you, allie. Chanel, it’s good to see you.

Chanel: SamE.

Nicole: So who wants some coffee?

Chanel: Oh, thank you, but I’m actually on my way out. I’m gonna go see my sister at the hospital.

Nicole: Oh, please give lani my love.

Chanel: I will. Later, horton.

Allie: Bye.

Chanel: Bye.

Nicole: Would you like some coffee?

Allie: [Chuckles] I’d love somE. But I think first we should talk about the elephant in the room.

[Clears throat] Um, obviously, chanel and I are a couple now.

Nicole: I can see that.

Allie: Are you not happy about it?

Nicole: Well, it’s just– I’m wondering–

Allie: Wondering what?

Nicole: Allie, could this possibly just be a rebound thing?

Allie: It is definitely not a rebound thing.

Nicole: Okay. You know I’m not judging you. But tripp, he did just call off the engagement.

Allie: And now I’m with chanel. I know it seems fast, but it’s really not.

Nicole: Okay.

Allie: Because I was in denial about my feelings for so lonG.

Nicole: Your feelings for chanel?

Allie: Yeah. I mean, I know i was attracted to her, but I also know that I’m attracted to meN. And I didn’t know what that meant. And then I talked to will and he helped me figure out that it means that I am bi…sexual.

Nicole: Oh, honey. I know what bi means.

Allie: Sorry. I’m just learning a ton still myself, so–

Nicole: And this feels right to you?

Allie: Yeah. And I understand now that what I had with tripp was real and so is what I have with chanel. I care about her and she cares about me and we want to be together. As a couple.

Nicole: Well, then I fully support you. And I know that you have a lot to process, so if you need to talk about anything, I am herE.

Allie: Thank you. That means so much.

Nicole: So you and chanel? Are you out in the open?

Allie: Um, not exactly.

Nicole: Okay. So you’re keeping it a secret?

Allie: No, no. But I’m just a little nervous about going public because tripp doesn’t know yet.

Tripp: It is amazing someone who spends so much time gossiping and spreading false rumors has time to make a movie.

Johnny: No, it’s not a rumor. It’s true. Yeah, I saw allie and chanel here in the square. They were all over each other. And when I said they made a cute couple, they didn’t deny it.

Tripp: I have to get to worK.

Johnny: If you don’t believe me, you can ask linda in the bakery. I got out of her that challie spent last night together at nicole’s place. That’s the same bed that you and allie used to share, right? Well, I guess I don’t need to waste any time waiting for you to thank me for cluing you iN. Because like you said, you don’t care, right?

[Sighs and exhales deeply]

[Monitor beeping]

Lani: Hi.

[Delicate music]

Rafe: Oh, man.

Lani: [Exhales deeply]

Rafe: I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry that this happened. And that I couldn’t be there for you.

Lani: It’s okay, rafe. You were in jail for something you didn’t dO.

Rafe: YeaH. Well, I’m out now. And I’m gonna do everything in my power to get to the bottom of this.

Tr: Listen to that.

Paulina: What?

Tr: The peaceful quiet of sleeping kids.

Paulina: [Chuckles] These two are perfect angels.

Tr: Mm.

Tr: Like you said, I don’t know anything about babies, but I wanna learn. After all, carver and jules are my grandkids, too. I wanna be around for them, get to know them. But even more than that, I wanna prove to you that you can trust mE.

[Knock at door] You stay. I’ll get that.

Nicole: So tripp doesn’t know about you and chanel?

Allie: Well, we’re not exactly blasting it all over social media. But I know he’s gonna find out eventually. You think I should tell him?

Nicole: What do you think?

Allie: I think I hate the idea of hurting him agaiN.

Nicole: It’s gonna be hard, but if i were tripp, I would wanna hear it from you.

Chanel: I, um, here to see lani. Eli’s in a coma.

Tripp: I’m aware. I work here.

Chanel: Right. Uh–well–uh– I should get going. I really need to go be there for my sister.

Tripp: Surprised you can tear yourself away from your new girlfriend.

Beth: So you’re johnny dimera.

Johnny: The one and only. And you are?

Beth: Beth howard, aka the new celeste perrault. I’m sorry to drop by unannounced, but I just had to tell you in person I think this script is just incredible. I mean, so original, so fresh, with a nod to kubrick and hitchcock?

Johnny: [Chuckles] Two of my biggest influences. Wow, beth, you really know your stuff.

Beth: I’ve been doing this a while. But I have never been this excited about a project before. If you have time, I’d love to get your take on the character.

Johnny: My take is that celeste parrault is a kick-ass character that my idiot soon-to-be-ex-wife gave up. Her loss.

Beth: My gain. [Chuckles]

Johnny: Hmm. You do have a good looK. And I like how bold you are, seeking me out, asking for my input.

Beth: I wanna give you my best.

Johnny: And I hope you get the chance.

Beth: Sorry?

Johnny: Well, you don’t have the role locked up yet.

Beth: What? Tr told me himself that I did.

Johnny: Wonder why he would do that when he knows that I have final say on casting.

Abe: Well, lani told me that you’d be watching the kids and I thought that you might need some help. And I also brought some supplies from home.

Paulina: Well, that was very thoughtful of you. Thank you.

Abe: Jules loves these little dolls.

Paulina: Uh, tr, he brought over some supplies as well.

Tr: Great minds. Look, mr. Mayor, I know how you feel about me, but I visited lani earlier at the hospital and she said that she wanted to spend as much time as possible with eli so i thought I would come by here to help and spend some time with my grandkidS.

Abe: May I speak to you, please? In private.

Tr: I have some emails that need my attention.

Abe: You know, you may think this is none of my business, but having that man here, it’s a damn big mistake.

Rafe: I’ve been reading statements, reviewing evidence, and conducting interviews. I’ve had some questions about what happened in the park that day.

Lani: We know what happened. Shawn and I were there.

Rafe: Yeah, but I’m not sure it’s as simple as it seems. I think there might be more to this story.

Chanel: My girlfriend? What are you talking about?

Tripp: Cut the crap, chanel. Johnny told me you and allie are together now.

Chanel: He did what?

Tripp: Yeah, don’t bother denying it, okay? He said he saw you two getting it on in the square and he knows you spent the night at nicole’S.

Chanel: GiovannI has a big mouth.

Tripp: Of course. Of course, blame the messenger.

Chanel: Okay, look, for what it’s worth, this is not how we wanted you to find out.

Tripp: You think I care? Don’t flatter yourself.

Chanel: Well, allie and i care about you a lot.

Tripp: Please. I remember you, when you came running over here after I called off the engagement. Saying, “what allie and i did was a one-time thing. She wants you, tripp, not me. Can’t you just get find it in your heart to forgive her?” What a crock.

Chanel: I had no idea we would end up together.

Tripp: Right. Right, you’ve only been dangling yourself in front of allie from day one. Making sure she can never get you out of her head. I mean, you just couldn’t let us be happy, could you? I think you only went after her brother just to get under her skin.

Chanel: I did not! I was in love with johnny and he broke my heart!

Tripp: Well, if that’s true, that sucks for you. But I don’t think it is. Because you sure got over him quick.

Johnny: I take it tr didn’t mention that little detail when he offered you the part?

Beth: No, he did not.

Johnny: Weird. Because he told chanel and that’s why she came running to me, begging me to recast her. Because she knew that without my approval, she wasn’t getting out of her contracT.

Beth: And what did you tell her?

Johnny: I said I’d cut her loose if she dropped the lawsuit that she had against me. Before she could get back to me, tr went ahead and signed you.

Beth: Well, maybe you guys just got your wires crosseD.

Johnny: [Scoffing chuckle] No, I don’t think so. But tr is a veteran producer. He knew damn well that he didn’t have the authority to give you that role without my approval. So it makes me wondeR. Why would he do that? Could you shed any light on that?

Paulina: You’re right, abe. It is none of your business.

Abe: You know, I know your history with that man. And why the hell would you let him be around you and the twins?

Tr: Excuse me. I know you two are talking about me, so let’s just get it out there.

Abe: Like i told you, when you showed up at the hospital after eli had been shot, I don’t want you around paulina, my daughter, or my grandchildren.

Paulina: Abe, pleasE.

Tr: No, no, no, it’s okay. I can tell you a thousand times that i’m not the man that I used to be. But you’ll never believe that until I show you and that’s all I’m trying to do. And I want to assure you as I have assured paulina, she has nothing to fear from me.

Paulina: Abe, I’m fine. Really, really. You can go. And thank you for the supplies.

Abe: I’ll call you later. Just to make sure all is well.

[Soft dramatic music]

Tr: Mayor carver does not like me.

Paulina: He’s just being protective.

Tr: Oh, is that what you think?

Paulina: Well, what else could it be?

Tr: Maybe he’s jealous. Let’s go over everything. First question, why did elI go to that park?

Rafe: I don’t know. I need to keep digging on that. Obviously, we know he was there, right? So theory number one, eli’s going through the park, he sees that frank guy, sees him shooting up, right? So he goes to arrest him. Struggle ensues, they end up fighting for the gun, and elI gets shot.

Lani: If that’s true, why wouldn’t frank just run?

Rafe: Okay, yeah. So that brings me to theory number two, right? ElI’s going through the park, sees the frank guy, he’s dealing, so he goes to arrest him. Again, they start fighting, gun goes off, guy thinks that he’s killed a cop, he panics, shoots up, ods.

Lani: In other words, he killed himself.

Rafe: Right.

Lani: Why not use the gun?

Rafe: Well, maybe it was an accidental overdose.

Lani: He just wanted to calm his nerves and ended up doing too much?

Rafe: I don’t knoW. See, every time I come up with a new scenario, I just have more questions than I have answerS. And we have no witnesses.

LanI: Security footage?

Rafe: No. Not in that section of the park. I mean, that’s why the dealers and junkies go there.

Lani: Eli is the only one who knows what happened that day. I pray every minute of every day that he will wake up and tell us what happeneD.

Rafe: Yeah. Listen, in the meantime, I’m gonna try and find out more about the dealer, okay? You hang in there, all right?

LanI: Hmm. I’ll do my best.

Rafe: You betteR. And, listen, you need anything, anything at all, I’m here, okay?

Lani: Thank you, rafe.

Rafe: Okay. We’ll talk soon. All right, kid?

Lani: Yeah.

[Downbeat music]

Tripp: You and allie could’ve told me the truth at any point. From the moment I met you to the moment I asked her to marry mE.

Chanel: I’m sorry.

Tripp: No, you’re not. You’re probably psyched. I mean, “stupid, naive tripp. He actually bought it when we said we’re just friends? Wow, if he’ll believe that, he’ll believe anything.”

Chanel: We did not think that!

Tripp: How could you not? I was stupid enough to believe you when you said it was just two innocent kisses. And I was stupid enough to believe allie when she said she’d left your place after comforting you the night of the reception. And when i came to you to check on you after your breakup, you must’ve been laughing at me inside.

Chanel: No, that’s not true! Look, I understand you’re upset after finding out in the worst possible way, okay? Johnny never should’ve opened his big, fat mouth!

Tripp: At least he told me the truth. Which is more than you and allie have ever done.

Johnny: So why would tr go out on a limb for you?

Beth: We have history. He knows me, knows my work, and he thought I’d be right for the role.

Johnny: Oh, come on, beth. I know how these things go in hollywood. Woman of a certain age, work isn’t as easy to come by as it used to be. You wanted to play celeste, tr wanted something in return–

Beth: Are you implying that–

Johnny: If he gave you this role in exchange for sexual favors, that could blow up in my face. And that is not gonna happen because this, this is my big shot, and no one’s gonna get in the way of that.

Beth: I wouldn’T. I would never. You have to believe me.

Johnny: Why? Because you say so? Look, I’m sorry, but your word is not enough for me to stake my entire career on. I’m sorrY. We’re gonna have to start looking for another actress.

Beth: I didn’t sleep with tr. I swear. All I did was agree to keep quiet about his past.

[Shrill tones]

Johnny: What past?

Paulina: Abe is not jealous.

[Scoffs] There’s nothing to be jealous of. First of all, there’s nothing going on between you and me. And less than nothing going on between me and abe.

Tr: He couldn’t forgive you for lying to him?

Paulina: That’s the sad parT. He did forgive me. He doesn’t know if he can ever trust me again. So there’s no hope for the future.

Tr: I’m sorry to hear that. As i have said, I know I have a lot of work to do to win your trust again. And I intend to do it. Prove myself through my actions, a little more each day. Because I want to be a part of your life, paulina. I want another chance to show you how good we can be together. However long it takes, no matter I have to do, I’m not giving up. I’m never giving up on you. A sweet-talker, ray. Lots of pretty words. Just the rest of it I’m not so sure about.

Tr: I don’t blame you. But I hope over time you’ll see that I’m sincere… and give me another chance.

Johnny: What happened in tr’s past? What does he want you to keep quiet about?

Beth: Just some things I know about hiM.

Johnny: Like what?

Beth: It’s not important. I shouldn’t have even said anything.

Johnny: Now, didn’t anyone ever tell you that secrets have a way of coming out?

Beth: Not this one. This is dead and burieD.

Johnny: Who else knows about it besides you and tr?

Beth: No onE. And that’s how I’m gonna keep it. Look, you can’t say anything to tr about this. Please. I can’t lose this role.

Johnny: I think I get the picture now.

Beth: So you’re not firing me?

Johnny: No, nO. I’ll be in touch. I look forward to working with you.

[Eerie tense music]

Lani: Any changes?

Tripp: No, but don’t be discouraged by that. It means he’s stable. Something positive to hold on to.

[Monitor beeping]

Lani: [Sighs] And how are you doing, lani? When’s the last time you slept or got something to eat?

Lani: Honestly, I don’t know. I don’t even remembeR.

Tripp: It’s important to take care of ourselves, too. Maybe on my break, how about I go down and get you a sandwich? Maybe some coffee?

Lani: [Chuckles] That’d be great. Thank you, tripp. Paulina said you were a great doctoR. She was righT.

[Phone rings]

Allie: Hey, dupree.

Chanel: Hey. [Sniffles]

Allie: What’s wrong?

Chanel: I’m at the hospital.

Allie: Did something happen to eli?

Chanel: No, I– I haven’t been to his room yet.

Allie: Okay, then what is it?

Chanel: I ran into tripp. He knows we’re a couplE.

Allie: You told him?

Chanel: Johnny beat me to it.

Allie: Are you serious?

Chanel: Yes. And tripp is not taking it welL.

Allie: Well, yeah, no, of course not. Damn johnny for telling him!

Chanel: I just–i– it’s like johnny just– he can’t but make it worse and worse for us. But okay, I need to pull myself together. And I need to be there for my sister.

Allie: Okay, call me after you see her.

Chanel: I will.

Allie: [Sighs] And I know I have to see.

Nicole: I am so sorry, abe. I mean, seeing this tr guy with your grandkids must’ve been terribly uncomfortable.

Abe: I’m really worried about paulina. I don’t like her spending time with this guy.

Nicole: And this guy who says he’s changed now, right?

Abe: His ex-girlfriend backs him up. She says that he never used drugs and he never laid a hand on her when they were together.

Nicole: Do you believe that?

Abe: I don’t know. And he’s saying and doing all the right things. I–I just don’t trust him.

Nicole: You remember how abusive my father was, right?

Abe: Hmm.

Nicole: And he told everyone that he had changed, but he didn’T. And it is rare that guys like that do.

Abe: Yeah, well, that’s what’s got me concerned. Unfortunately, i don’t have the right to say anything since I’m not in paulina’s life anymore. You know what? I had– oh, I had better get going. It’s so good to see you again.

Nicole: AW. You too, abe. You take care of yourself, okay?

Abe: Yeah, I will.

[Knock at door]

Paulina: [Inhales deeply] Door’s open, come in.

Rafe: Oh, hey, paulina. Sorry to bother yoU. You got a minute?

Paulina: Oh, no. Of course, of course. But keep it down please, okay? Because the twins, they’re asleep.

Rafe: Oh.

Paulina: This is, um–

Tr: Tr coates. Paulina’s ex.

Rafe: Oh. Pleasure to meet you. Rafe hernandez, salem pd.

Tr: Pleasure, officer.

Rafe: Actually, it’s commissioneR. Yep, I was just reinstated.

Paulina: Oh! That’s wonderful!

Tr: [Chuckles] Excuse me.

[Baby babbling]

Paulina: So what can i do for you?

Rafe: Well, lanI said that abe was here so I was hoping to talk to him about eli’s shooting.

Paulina: Oh, you just missed him.

Rafe: Oh.

Paulina: And can I tell you how glad i am that you are back on the job and on this case? Oh, I know you are as relieved as I am that lowlife junkie that shot my son-in-law, he’s dead.

Rafe: Thing is, he wasn’t a junkie.

Paulina: What?

Rafe: Yeah, i just got off the phone with a reliable source who says he didn’t use drugs, he only sold theM. So now, I’m wondering how the hell he died of a massive overdose.

Chanel: I’ll come back.

Lani: No, stay.

Tripp: I was just leaving.

Chanel: I’m so sorry.

[Monitor beeping]

Demon johnny: As you always knew, stefano, everyone’s got a dirty, little secret. And I can’t wait to find out what mr. Coates’ iS… so i can use it against him. Just like I used allie’s secret against her. Huh. Poor thing.

Allie: I know what you did! Did you hear what I said? Turn around and face me, you son of a bitch!

Transcript provided by Suzanne

Steffy: You haven’t changed, sheila.

Sheila: Brooke is the one that hasn’t changed. Boozing it up with deacon, cheating on your father the first opportunity she had.

Steffy: Because of you. This chance at a relationship with finn, with hayes, it’s over. It is never gonna happen now that I have proof that you’re still the same manipulative sociopath you have always been. Targeting brooke like that?

Sheila: You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Steffy: Oh, stop denying it, sheila! Stop denying it. I know how sick you are, how far you’re willing to go. I know what you did to brooke.

Hope: Well, I, um, tried to stop by the house earlier, but you weren’t home.

Brooke: I went to the office to see ridge.

Hope: Oh. And, uh, how did that go? Any progress?

Brooke: He says that he misses me. He’s concerned.

Liam: Of course he’s concerned. That goes along with loving you.

Brooke: He may care about me, but doesn’t mean he’s gonna get past what happened. I betrayed his trust. Now I have to deal with the consequences, whatever they may be.

Thomas: That’s an odd way to put it.

Taylor: What?

Thomas: That there is nothing I wouldn’t do to get you and dad back together.

Taylor: Okay, when you say it like that, it does sound a little weird. Honey, I just– I know how much this means to you and steffy. I know how much you wanna see your father and me back together.

Thomas: And that’s what you want too, right?

Hope: Mom, whether ridge forgives you or not, you have to forgive yourself and move on.

Brooke: That’s what ridge said. He said I need to stop torturing myself and stop living in the past.

Liam: He’s right about that much. Self-flagellating isn’t gonna help anyone.

Brooke: You think I like being stuck like this? I don’T. Constantly wondering what happened to me, why I let ridge slip away.

Hope: [Scoffs] But you haven’T. Not yet.

Brooke: He doesn’t live here anymore, does he? He seems happier over at steffy’S. And who can blame him? I think he feels safer with taylor.

Hope: Well, that might be a temporary situation, because, mom, I mean, at the end of the day, you are still married to him. And unless that changes, you still have a chance.

Ridge: Ah, good. You’re still here.

Thomas: I will be till I finish this sketch.

Ridge: I was talking to the pretty one.

Taylor: Well, then you were talking to thomas.

[Laughs] I’m gonna head out so you guys can work.

Ridge: Wait, wait, wait. Without answering the question? I mean, I overheard you guys.

Thomas: Yeah, mom. Answer the question.

Taylor: Oh!

Ridge: I–I was only kidding.

Taylor: The question. Do I wanna get back together with this guy? What do you think?

Sheila: If I did anything to brooke–

Steffy: If?

Sheila: I’m not saying that I did, but–

Steffy: I overheard thomas talking to you on the phone. Talking about he couldn’t take it–the little secret he was keeping? How you switched the labels on brooke’s bottle. She thought she was drinking non-alcoholic champagne, but you made sure it was the real stuff. No wonder she turned to vodka. She was drunk because of you.

Sheila: Okay. Fine. It’s true. I did it. I’m the one that got brooke to drink, and it’s a damn good thing that I did. You should be on your knees, steffy, thanking me profusely. Because of me, I’m the one that got your father away from brooke. And yet here you stand, lashing out at me, judging me, telling me I will have no place in my son’s life? No! If anything, I just solidified my place in his life, in yours. Don’t tell me… this isn’t what you’ve always wanted. Because we know it’s exactly what you’ve wanted. You’re welcome.

[Sfx: Chicken clucking] Everyone wants to be the cadbury bunny. Cause only he brings delicious cadbury creme eggs. While others may keep trying…

[Sfx: Chicken clucking]

Brooke: I’m not giving up. I know ridge is extremely hurt. But I also know that he still wants to be with me.

Hope: There you go. So have faith in that.

Liam: Yeah. That is what’s gonna get you through, just knowing that you belong together.

Brooke: We do. I pleaded for him to come home.

Hope: And what did he say?

Brooke: Uh, nothing much really. But I could tell he was quite torn about it. For now, he’s staying put, living with steffy and taylor. Steffy is harassing ridge at home, and thomas is harassing ridge at the office. They’re doing everything they possibly can to keep ridge and me apart.

Taylor: Okay. Um, I think–I think everyone knows how I feel. As a matter of fact, I think I’ve been too honest about where I stand on wanting a happy life with your father. But I’ve–I’ve also told steffy and thomas that I think it’s really important that– that you just heal right now, and you don’t know any pressure from anyone. Do you feel pressure from me?

Ridge: I don’T.

Taylor: A little bit?

Ridge: Mm-mmm.

Taylor: No? From the kids?

Ridge: No. Not at all. A thousand times a day maybe.

Thomas: Okay. All right. Maybe we’re a little vocal.

Taylor: A little? A “lottle.”

Thomas: [Laughs]

Ridge: A lottle? Really? A lottle? Yes. With rapid fire.

Taylor: Yes.

Ridge: A lottle.

Taylor: Yes.

Ridge: Wow.

Taylor: So see, thomas, th–this is what it is. I– you have to ease up on all of this. You can’t put any more pressure on us, okay? Seriously, you can’T. ‘Cause we don’t know what’s gonna happen. Your dad could go back to brooke at any time.

Thomas: I know.

Taylor: Do you, though?

Thomas: Yes. Yes. If–if… you and dad decide to make a go of it, and I’m pretty sure that you will, then… he has to want to be with you as much as you wanna be with him and not because steffy and i just said that you guys should be together.

Ridge: Pretty insightful.

Taylor: It is.

Thomas: Well, it’s true.

Taylor: Yes, it’s very true. So, you’re promising us, right? No more parent trap. You won’t do or say anything that could interfere with your dad’s decision about his marriage to brooke.

Steffy: You think I should be thanking you?

Sheila: You wanna see your parents together, don’t you? That’s what’s happening, isn’t it? Is it because of something that–that you or thomas did? No. It’s because of me. Because I took the initiative while you all set around watching your father waste his life away on a drunken slut.

Steffy: You mean alcoholic in recovery who hadn’t been tempted to drink in years until you tricked her to do it.

Sheila: I allowed her the ability to have what she really wanted. I allowed her to stop suppressing her desire to drink, to cheat. And it’s a good thing that I did. Because of brooke’s little slipup, your father is living at your house with your mother. A woman that he has always admired. And it won’t be long before they’re back together again. That’s what I want, steffy. I want that for both of them. I want that for you and thomas, for the children. You deserve to have your family reunited.

Steffy: Why do you even care?

Sheila: Because you’re my family too. I know–I know that you don’T… like to hear that and that you have a hard time dealing with that, but you’ll be able to one day. You’ll be able to accept me the same way that your mother has. She probably hasn’t said anything, but… she’s so wonderful. By giving me… a chance, believing that I’ve changed.

Steffy: No, you haven’T. What you did to brooke proves it. You’re just as dangerous. You are just as manipulative. You will never have a place in our lives. I’m putting an end to this.

Sheila: To what?

Steffy: You. No more stopping by my mom’s office. No more secret meetings with thomas. You’re done, sheila. I never wanna see your face… not ever again. I’m amber, I’ve lost 128 pounds with golo, taking release. I have literally tried everything. I was on the verge of getting gastric bypass surgery, and I saw the golo commercial, and it was the last thing I tried ’cause it worked. (Vo) can you spot the cinnamojis in your bowl? Brooke: Bridget, you didn’t have to call and check on me. I know it’s late in new york.

Bridget: Actually, I just wanted to let you know I’m back in L.A. I’m working out of university hospital for a while to help with restructuring and shortages.

Brooke: Oh, that’s wonderful. It’ll be good to see you.

Bridget: You too. You hanging in there, mom?

Brooke: Yes. Thank you, sweetheart.

Woman: [Speaking on P.A.]

Bridget: Sorry, mom. They’re paging me. I’m gonna have to go.

Brooke: Oh, okay. You go. And just please stop by soon.

Bridget: I will. I promise. Love you, mom.

Brooke: I love you too, sweetheart. Bye, bridget.

[Sighs] Well, your sister’s in town.

Hope: [Gasps] Yes! That means I have backup now. Look, mom, what thomas and steffy do doesn’t even matter. The only thing that matters is ridge’s love for you.

Brooke: What if that’s not enough?

Hope: It is.

Brooke: Even if there’s an outside force working against us?

Liam: Outside force. What are you, uh– what are you referring to?

Brooke: [ Sighs ] I–I don’t know. It’s just this feeling I’m getting, and I can’t shake it. I told eric and ridge about it too.

Hope: What, is it like a feeling like someone’s working against you?

Brooke: [Sighs] I don’t know. Something or someone. Just…this feeling that I’m getting. It’s like ridge and I are up against more than we realize.

Sheila: You don’t know what you’re talking about.

Steffy: Oh, I do. And when my mother finds out what you’ve done, she’ll say the exact same thing. That kindness–

Sheila: No, you can’t say anything to taylor. You can’t tell anyone why brooke drank.

Steffy: You think I don’t wanna show everyone what a lying, manipulative person you are?

Sheila: Just think of your mom. She wants another chance with ridge after years of standing on the sidelines watching him pursue a pathetic destiny with brooke.

Steffy: Years you took away. You took her away. And now you think you can spike a few drinks and all is forgiven? You really are insane.

Sheila: You want to see them back together again, and thomas does too.

Steffy: How long has he been involved?

Sheila: What?

Steffy: Thomas. Did he help you?

Sheila: No. No, he just found out about it recently. And I told him the same thing I’m telling you right now. Your family can be whole again.

Sheila: You just need to keep quiet. So please, steffy, think of your mother’s happiness and your father’s too. Doesn’t he deserve to be free of brooke?

Steffy: He does, but not like this– not being manipulated into it.

Sheila: Does it really matter?

Steffy: If my parents wanna be back together, it’s because they wanna be back together, not because you did something wrong and sick.

Sheila: I exposed brooke, that’s all.

Steffy: You exposed yourself for the dangerous person that you are. Everyone’s gonna know the truth.

Sheila: No.

Steffy: Any interest of finn having a relationship with you, that you could actually–

Sheila: Just stop, steffy!

Steffy: You are never having a relationship with finn. Never.

Sheila: That is not your decision to make.

Steffy: He is my husband.

Sheila: He is my son. And I’m warning you, don’t do anything to come between finn and me. Not a damn thing! Do you hear me? You keep your mouth shut. Taylor: What is it, thomas? What’s–what’s wrong?

Ridge: Is there something you wanna tell us?

Thomas: Well, uh, that you–you still have feelings for mom, which I wasn’t sure about, but, obviously, you do, right?

Ridge: Yeah. What– yeah, of course I do.

Thomas: Yeah.

Ridge: What are you–

Thomas: And I know that you’re still married to brooke. But when I see you two together, I see amazing potential. I see two people that could build an incredibly wonderful life together, and it just seems meant to be.

Hope: Not sure I’m following. Are you suggesting that thomas and steffy are somehow manipulating all of this?

Brooke: It’s just– it’s this overwhelming feeling that I keep getting, that I’m–I’m missing something, that there’s a– a bigger explanation to all of this.

Steffy: You’re warning me? Or do you mean threatening? Because if that’s how you speak to finn’s wife, the mother of his child, how do you expect to make inroads with him?

Sheila: Oh, but that’s just it. You tell me I can’t– I won’t be a part of his life, and yet it’s like you’re baiting me, trying to get me to do things.

Steffy: Show that you haven’t changed? Yeah, whatever works.

Sheila: Just have a little understanding, please. You’ve never given me a chance since I came back to town. You won’t even consider that I might have good intentions, even though your mother was open to that possibility, the one person, out of everyone, who had the right to doubt that I’m reformed.

Steffy: You’re not reformed, sheila. You purposely got an alcoholic to drink.

Sheila: What would you have done? Hmm? Go ahead, steffy. Why don’t you tell me? What would you have done… if you had brooke in your face telling you that she was never going to let you be a part of your son’s life? I couldn’T… let her get in the way, and I won’t let you either.

Steffy: So this is a threat.

Sheila: I didn’t want it to be this way. But finn’s my only hope. He’s the one child that… I could have a future with, a life with. A life that I could have had with you too. I really wanted that, steffy. An opportunity to love you.

Steffy: Who would ever want that from you? Being loved by you is a curse– a curse that finn will never have to know. I will make sure of it. I will make him realize that you’re still a criminal. You’re still as dangerous as ever. You will never be part of our lives. Do you hear me?

Sheila: No! If one of us isn’t meant to be in finn’s life, it’s gonna be you, steffy. You.
