John couldn’t believe Kristen was getting Rachel’s hopes up about her getting back together with Brady. He knew they were never going to get back together. Marlena wasn’t sure since Kristen was a good manipulator. John wanted to stop her. Marlena wasn’t sure how they would do that. Brady walked in and found Susan in the room. Brady was about to call Marlena to let her know that Susan was alive when Kristen took off the disguise. Brady wondered why she was dressed that way. She told him that she couldn’t console EJ for losing his mother so she wanted to console him dressed that way. He didn’t think it would work plus it would be a cruel thing to do. She wanted to assure EJ that Susan’s death wasn’t his fault. Brady was surprised that she wanted to do something like that, but he told her it was cruel. Kristen cried and told him that she treated Susan badly. Brady consoled her when John, Rachel and Marlena walked in the townhouse. John and Brady took Rachel to bed. Marlena told Kristen to stop getting Rachel’s hopes up that she was going to marry Brady. John confronted Brady about finding Kristen in his arms. He told John that he was just consoling her. He said he would never fall for her again.

EJ found Nicole drinking at the bar. She apologized for what happened to Susan. He appreciated that and wanted to know if she needed to talk. She told him what happened with Eric. She admitted that things would have been better for her and Eric if Jada wasn’t pregnant. Things were worse now that she doesn’t have the baby. EJ thought that Eric would come around. Nicole knew the lines were crossed and they couldn’t come back from it. EJ was able to relate to that because he crossed the line and it cost his mother her life. They kept drinking when she said that she didn’t have anywhere to go. EJ offered to let her stay in one of his guest rooms. She agreed to stay with him. She stumbled trying to get up. EJ helped her get up. Eric saw them together and glared at them.

Johnny told EJ that he knew what Li had Rolf do. EJ denied it, but eventually admitted to knowing what Rolf did to Stefan. EJ said he knew after the fact. He said he used the information to solidify Stefan’s connection to him and the family. Johnny asked how he would feel if someone erased his love for Sami. EJ said he would thank the person. Johnny said he didn’t believe him. EJ said he knew it wasn’t about love. He said it was about Johnny’s need for revenge over what happened with Ava. Johnny said it started out like that. He apologized for taking Ava’s side since it contributed to Susan’s death. EJ said he didn’t blame him. Johnny said she would still be alive if he had done things differently. EJ said Susan would want them to get past it. Johnny wanted to get past it, but Stefan had a right to know about the brainwashing. EJ asked him not to tell anyone. He said he could lose the company as well as go back to prison. He said he just lost his mother. He asked Johnny not to take anything else from him.

Wendy told Li that she knew he had Rolf brainwash Stefan into forgetting about Gabi. Li pretended to be upset. Wendy said she knew when he was lying. He ended up admitting to what he did. She said this was going to blow up in his face. He said Gabi loved him. He said he didn’t set out to have Stefan brainwashed. He said he thought he could use Stefan as a way to move up the corporate ladder. He said he ended up falling in love with Gabi. Wendy said it wasn’t fair to Gabi. He said he didn’t care if she didn’t approve of what he did. He was only concerned about what she was going to do about it. He said he would lose everything if she said anything. He begged her not to say anything. Jada told Eric she wasn’t pregnant anymore. He thought she had a miscarriage. She said she had an abortion. He asked her why she didn’t tell him. She said it was her body and choice. She said she knew he was excited about the baby. She thought he would talk her out of it. She said it wasn’t easy, but it was the right decision. She said it wasn’t about her punishing him for their relationship ending. She said it had nothing to do with him. He asked what changed her mind. She said she believed they could make it work until she talked to Nicole. She said Nicole helped her realize how much of a struggle it would be to be a single mother and a cop. She said she didn’t want to be tied to a person who didn’t love her. She told him the rest of what Nicole told her. He was upset about it. She said she didn’t know if it was Nicole’s intent, but talking to her helped her decide not to have the baby.

Chanel talked to Allie about her concerns about staying in jail. Shawn brought Sloan in to see her. She let her know that she was going to be her worst nightmare. Allie tried to defend Chanel to Sloan, but she didn’t want to hear it. She didn’t think her mother’s death was accidental. Sloan blamed Chanel for her mother’s death. She also threw up in her face that she had an affair with her father. They go back and forth about what Chanel did. Allie defended Chanel. Sloan told her that it was hard to watch her father drink himself to death. Paulina told Abe she had an idea of how to help Chanel. She wanted him to fire Melinda. He told her that he couldn’t do that because the press was watching him already. He thought Belle would be able to stop Trask from going after Chanel. Belle told Trask that she was holding Chanel without an arraignment. She thought Trask was trying to hold up the case on purpose. Trask told her there was nothing she could do about it. Belle showed her a legal document that proved she could stop her. Belle let her know that Chanel was getting out on bail. Later, Belle let Chanel know that she made bail. Chanel rushed to the office where she saw her mother and Abe. They celebrated the fact that she was out on bail. Trask walked in the room and let them know that she had a warrant for Paulina’s arrest. She wanted Shawn to arrest Paulina for covering Sloan’s mother’s murder. Sloan smirked in the background. Kate brought tea to Jada to help her with her morning sickness. Jada told her about her everything that happened earlier. She let her know that she was getting an abortion. Kate wondered if someone talked her into getting the abortion. Jada didn’t name any names, but she told her about her conversation with Nicole. Jada wanted to be a mother, but not like that. Kate apologized to her for getting hurt. She wanted to know what was next for her. She let Kate know that she was going to focus on her career. Kate told her that she was the same way, but it’s nice to have someone in your life.

Kate hoped they could still be friends. Jada was fine with it. Eric wanted answers from Nicole. He wanted to know if she talked Jada into getting an abortion. Nicole refused to let Jada make her out to be the bad guy about the baby. She was ready to confront Jada, but he said she was too late. He let her know the baby was gone. She told Eric that they didn’t talk about abortion. He let her know she was the last person Jada talked to before she made her decision. He let her know that the pregnancy wasn’t any of her business. She was surprised by his reaction. Nicole told him they were together so it was her business. She wanted to talk to Jada after overhearing them talk on Thanksgiving. She defended her actions, but he felt that she got what she wanted. He told her that she acts impulsively. They continued arguing about it. She admitted that she hoped there wasn’t a baby and asked if he was satisfied. She apologized to him for talking to Jada behind his back. She wasn’t sorry for wishing they could avoid a complication. He knew it was complicated, but he enjoyed the idea of being a father. She brought up the fact that she couldn’t give him children. He was happy raising Holly, but he thought they could raise the baby together. She told him how he excluded her from the Thanksgiving announcement. He told her that she broke his trust by going to Jada behind his back. He was upset that the baby was gone. Nicole wanted to know if he was upset about the baby being gone or her role in it. He told her that it was both. She wanted to know where that left them. He looked at her and admitted that he didn’t know. He walked away from her, and she started to cry.

Johnny and Wendy came back from their trip. They couldn’t believe they were right about Rolf tampering with Stefan’s brain. She was afraid to talk to her brother about it. He wanted to go with her in case Li did something, but she thought they would have a better chance of getting information if they divide and conquer. Gabi and Li talked about Rafe and Nicole. Gabi couldn’t believe Nicole would hurt Rafe more than Ava. Li wondered why Nicole would want to go back to an old relationship when she was with someone else. Gabi thought he was talking about her and Stefan. She said Stefan was her past and he was her future. They kissed until Wendy appeared. Wendy said she needed to talk to him. Li flashed back to ordering Rolf to alter Stefan’s mind. LI wanted Wendy to explain why she wasn’t showing up to work to go off with Johnny. Gabi left to get Li some tea. Wendy asked if he made Rolf inject her and Johnny with the mind altering drug. She told him she and Johnny knew what he and Rolf were up to. EJ talked to Stefan about seeing Ava at the crash site. Stefan said he would be there for him. EJ said he appreciated that.

EJ said he was glad Stefan and Chloe were getting closer. He said he wished Gabi could realize that Chloe was the only woman for Stefan. EJ said Chloe was an improvement over Gabi who only wanted to get the company. Johnny walked in and wanted to know how far EJ was going to go. Stefan left them alone so they could talk about Susan. EJ told Johnny what happened to Susan. Johnny asked if he told Sydney. EJ said he told her, but she was inconsolable. EJ told him about the kidnapping. He said he warned Johnny about her. Johnny cried and remembered how he defended her. EJ told him it wasn’t his fault. They talked about Susan. Johnny said she was the first person to realize he was possessed. EJ said until the devil erased her memory. Johnny brought up how EJ had Rolf do the same to him while he was away. EJ was shocked at the timing of his accusation. Johnny apologized. He said he and Wendy knew what EJ and Rolf did to Stefan. Eric called Nicole. She told him they wouldn’t let Jada’s pregnancy come between. She asked if Jada was keeping the baby. Eric said she was keeping it and wondered why she wouldn’t. Their call was interrupted when someone called Nicole. Nicole and Chloe talked about Nicole’s marriage being over. She told Chloe that she ended her marriage so she could be with Eric. She told Chloe that she advised Jada not to have the baby. Chloe was shocked at her behavior. Nicole said she wouldn’t lose Eric again. Chloe said the baby hasn’t changed the way Eric felt about her. She said Jada wasn’t going to come between Nicole and Eric. Nicole said she wanted to be secure because she knew Eric and Jada would fall in love with the baby once it was born. Nicole said it was best for everyone if Jada didn’t have the baby.

Gwen closed her laptop at the office. Jack came in and wondered why she didn’t want to show her work. She told him she was working on a story about Paulina, but Chad didn’t want her to do it. She said she was waiting to do it until she fact checked everything. She thought it was the story of the year. She wondered what she should do. He said he liked how she wanted to make an ethical decision, but she was going to have to decide on what to do. He said her being determined to be a good reporter made him realize he made the right decision by not hiring Xander. She said she didn’t realize that was an option. He said he felt it was a good idea not to have them together. She told him she and Xander were seeing each other. She said they were just friends. He said he didn’t want her to be hurt again. She said she knew Xander didn’t love her and was committed to Sarah. She said she was happy for Xander. Jack said he was proud of her. He wanted to see her work. He said it was good to help one of his daughters. He told her she could call him dad. Sarah asked Xander if he kidnapped Susan and Bonnie. He said he didn’t. She wanted to know what shady thing his employer wanted him to do. He said they wanted him to say a new drug wasn’t addictive, but it was a lie. He said he didn’t want to be a part of something like that. She said she didn’t want to believe he did it, but if he did, she wanted to know. She said she wanted to look up the company he said he worked for. He told her to look. He panicked when she opened the laptop. She found the website. He was shocked that she found it. She apologized for not believing him. She asked him to forgive her. He said he did. He went to call Gwen and told her about the website. She said she built the website for him.

Chad went to the DiMera mansion. He talked to Tony about coming home early. While they were talking, they talked about EJ and Ava. Tony told him that Ava ran off with Susan after EJ took Tripp. Tony told him not to tell Stephanie. Chad said he wouldn’t say anything. Tony said EJ was getting drunk at the crash site. They left to be with him. EJ yelled out Susan’s name. He heard a noise at the crash site. It turned out to be Ava. He wondered if she was there or if he was drunk. She said she was really there. He said no one could have survived that crash. She said she must be dead and pulled out a gun. She told him he may as well join her. She told him about his need to want to one up her. She said that was what killed Susan. He said he didn’t have a conscience so she couldn’t be that. He said she must really be there. He thought Susan could be alive if she was alive. She said she jumped out of the car before it rolled over, but Susan was in the car when it blew up. She threatened to kill him. They fought over the gun. The gun went off. Chad found EJ against a rock with blood on his head. Tony found EJ’s flask. EJ told them Ava was there and she pulled a gun out on them. He said he wanted to find her. Chad and Tony took EJ away.

EJ went to the crash site to lay flowers on the ground. Rafe showed up and wanted to question him about what happened. He told Rafe what happened. Rafe believed there was more to the story. He warned EJ that he could arrest him for obstructing justice. He decided not to arrest him because he went through enough. EJ appreciated that and handed him the flask he had. Rafe took a sip from the flask. EJ was shocked that Rafe wanted to drink on the job. Rafe told him about him and Nicole getting a divorce. EJ wanted to know if Eric was the reason why they are getting divorced. Rafe confirmed EJ’s suspicions and told him that there was trouble in paradise. Rafe gets called back to work so he wanted EJ to come to the station the next day. EJ wanted to sit there and wallow. Rafe made him promise not to drive. Eric went to see Marlena and told her about the baby. Marlena thought it was good news, but Eric noticed she had hesitation in her voice. She wanted to know if he wanted the baby. He told her that he wanted it. He said he and Jada had to figure out how to co-parent together while he dated Nicole. he hoped Nicole didn’t feel threatened. Marlena advised him to talk to her.

Nicole went to see Jada. Nicole admitted that she overheard Eric talking about the baby. Nicole didn’t want to interrupt by telling everyone that Eric was breaking up with Jada to be with her. Jada told her that she had enough self-respect not to be with him when he’s in love with her. Nicole tried to apologize for what she and Eric did, but Jada didn’t care. She knew Nicole was happy that he got what she wanted. She told Nicole that her fake sympathy was making things worse. Jada talked about their situation. She told her that she was tied to a man who dumped her for his ex-wife. Nicole wanted to know why she would have a baby with Eric when he made her angry. Jada got upset. Nicole told her about the reality of having a baby. She told her everything that was going to happen when she had the baby. She also told Jada that she’s going to be in her life too. Jada wanted her to go because she had to decide if she really wanted to keep the baby. Nicole assured her that she was only trying to help. Jada threw her out. Later, Jada was at the police station. Rafe wanted to know why she was there. She noticed that he wasn’t wearing his ring. He told her that he and Nicole were getting divorced. He said they were breaking up even if Eric and Nicole don’t get together because of her baby. Jada said the baby wouldn’t be an issue. She would have had the baby, but she realized the impact it would have on her life. She decided that she didn’t want to keep the baby.

Rafe told Gabi and Li what happened with Nicole. Gabi trashed Nicole for what she did to him. She told him that she will regret leaving him for Eric. Rafe told her that he threw out Nicole’s pie. She was proud of him. Li was disappointed because they didn’t have pie. Gabi continued to express how upset she was that Nicole was able to live happily with Eric. Rafe told her that it might not happen since Jada’s pregnant. Gabi loved the karma of it all, but Rafe didn’t want to gloat about it. He wanted to focus on happier things. Li wanted him to think about the wedding. Rafe agreed and made a toast. Nicole thought about Eric’s conversation about Jada and the baby. She walked away. Eric let Jada know that he was happy that she decided to keep the baby. She thought they would make it work and wondered how Nicole felt. He thought Nicole would support them. She told him that Nicole was insecure and territorial. She didn’t think Nicole would take the news well. He wanted Jada to trust him. She wanted to go upstairs to pack, but he asked her not to leave.

Nicole ran into Abe and Paulina in the town square. She told them what happened with Eric, Rafe and Jada. Abe told her to let Eric explain what’s going on. He thought she might have misunderstood what she heard. She was certain that she was out, and Jada was in Eric’s life. Abe told her to talk to Eric. Paulina advised her to fight for her man. EJ erased Rafe’s message about making a statement. Marlena showed up at the DiMera mansion and tried to make him feel better about what happened. EJ told her that Johnny didn’t know what happened to Susan yet because he’s out of town. He didn’t know how to tell him because it’s his own fault. He told her what he did to Ava. He blamed Susan’s and Abby’s deaths on himself because he needed control. He said he let down the one person who love him unconditionally. He broke down and started crying. Marlena continued to make him feel better about what happened. She told him that he was the love of her life. He mentioned how she was scared of her own shadow, but she was fierce when it came to her family. They continued to talk about Susan.

Eric told Roman about his situation with Jada, the baby and Nicole. Eric said he wanted to be with Nicole, but they were going to have to have a conversation about how their relationship would work if Jada kept the baby. He said he wanted to be a father, but he supported her right to choose. He said he also understood why she wouldn’t want to have a baby with a man who left her for his ex-wife. Jada was packing her things when Kate came to see her. Jada told her she was moving out because Eric and Nicole were together. She said she was pregnant. Kate told her not to give up on Eric since he and Kate broke up so easily in the past. Jada said Eric made his decision. She said she had to make her decision about the baby. She said if Nicole weren’t a factor, she would be happy to raise a baby with Eric. She said she wasn’t prepared to be a single mother. She thanked Kate for listening. Kate invited her to dinner. She told Jada that it was her life, body and decision. Roman asked Eric if he would want to raise the baby with Jada if Nicole wasn’t in the picture. Eric said he would, but he loved Nicole. He said that was why it was a big mess. Kate showed up and didn’t care for his comment. Jada showed up and said Kate helped her. She said she made her decision about the baby.

Nicole went to Rafe’s house. He wanted to know why she was there. She said she came to get her things. They talked about Ava and EJ. She wanted to make the dessert she promised to make for Thanksgiving. He didn’t want it at first. He agreed to it because of Arianna. He told her he didn’t want to drag out the divorce. He thought they should get lawyers. He said he wouldn’t fight her on it considering she was with Eric. He said they would call it irreconcilable differences. When she finished the pie, she apologized to him. He thought he deserved what happened after what he did to Ava. Nicole said he wished they could be friends the way they were before. He said it wasn’t possible, at least not right now. She said goodbye.

Rolf called Li from Wendy’s phone. Rolf told Li about what happened with Johnny and Li. Rolf said he had them restrained. Rolf wanted to take their vocal chords for an experiment he was working on. Li said he had a better idea. Gabi walked in and heard Li say he wanted Wendy back empty handed. Gabi questioned him about what he was talking about. He lied to her about what he was talking about. He said he wanted Wendy back in Salem. He said when she got back he was going to fire her. Gabi defended Wendy to Li. She said Wendy and Johnny were cute together. Li said Johnny was a spoiled brat. Gabi said he should let them enjoy their vacation. He said there were consequences. Johnny and Wendy woke up in restraints. Rolf showed up and destroyed the recording Johnny made. Rolf got the syringe ready. He said he was giving Johnny the same injection he gave Gabi. He said when they got to Salem, they would have forgotten why they came. Rolf prepared the syringe for Wendy, but Johnny stopped him. Johnny argued with Rolf. Wendy knocked Rolf out from behind. They restrained him on the gurney and threatened to expose what he did to Stefan. They left him in the lab.

While Rafe was at the airstrip, he called an APB out on Ava. Ava drove Susan on a slick road. EJ followed them in his car. Charlie told Ave to drive off a cliff with Susan. EJ went to the edge and yelled out for his mother. Rafe said he called the FBI since a member of the DiMera family was kidnapped by a Vitalli. While he was talking to the FBI, he got a call about the crash. Rafe showed up where EJ was. He stopped EJ from going down to the cliff. The car exploded. EJ wanted to go to his mother. Rafe followed him. Rafe sat with EJ until the rescue team showed up. A firefighter told EJ there was no one way Susan could have survived the fire. Rafe wanted to take him to the police station to get his statement about Susan’s kidnapping. EJ said it wouldn’t bring him back. Rafe wanted to put it on record. EJ said he didn’t want to relive that again. He left.

Justin and Alex found Bonnie in the shed. She told them how she ended up in the shed. They took her to the Kiriakis mansion. Bonnie told Sarah and Maggie what happened to her. Rafe showed up to question Bonnie. She said it was a person in a clown mask wearing a blue suit. She said his build was more of a strongman than a clown. Susan kept talking to Xander. She kept trying to get him to let her go free. She wanted to know where they were going. He said he was taking her home. Charlie kept convincing Ava to kill Susan. He said she could prove that she was a Vitalli. He said she could stick it to EJ. Xander came in the crypt with Susan. Ava pulled Xander to the side and yelled at him about bringing Susan there. She had an idea. She told him while she went to get the money, he would stay behind and kill Susan. He said he didn’t sign up for that. She said they needed to take something from EJ he couldn’t replace. Xander said she lost it. He told Susan that he was taking her home. Ava took off his mask. Susan was shocked.

Ava told Xander that he didn’t have a choice but to do what he needed to do. She gave Xander a gun and left to meet with EJ. Susan begged Xander not to kill her. She said she wouldn’t tell anyone that he was involved. She said she wouldn’t tell EJ either. Xander apologized to her, but the stakes were too high. He said Sarah would never understand this. He said he had to do it. Susan said she wouldn’t say anything. He said Ava would say something if he didn’t do what she wanted. He pointed a gun at her. EJ told Tony that he would do whatever Ava wanted to make sure his mother got home safely. He said he spoke to the banker and the money was ready to go. He said he had to deal with Ava. He pulled out a gun. He said Ava wanted to meet with him at the airfield. EJ told Tony that the gun was for show. Rafe showed up at the DiMera mansion so he could talk to EJ. Tony told him where he was. Ava met with EJ. She told him to give her the money or she would put a bullet in his mother’s head. EJ sent her the money. Once she got the money, she told him she would get Susan’s body back. She told him his mother was dead. He pulled out his gun and threatened her. She told him to pull the trigger. She said she would gladly go to her grave knowing that she beat him. Susan ran in front of them. Susan told him to put the gun down. Ava grabbed Susan with her own gun. Ava dragged Susan to the car.
