Jake wakes up in bed with Gabi, who is sitting up with her laptop. Jake comments that it’s too early to be working. Gabi responds that it’s not for Philip, who is already writing an e-mail which she can see after installing the key logger on his computer. Gabi sees that Philip is writing a confidential e-mail to Titan’s general council. Gabi reads the e-mail but Philip stops typing right before saying what the issue is.

Philip is interrupted from typing his e-mail as Kate enters the Titan office and says they need to talk. Philip mentions that he told his assistant that he was not to be disturbed. Kate declares that she didn’t think it applied to his mother and that she’s here to stop him from making a terrible mistake.

Chloe joins Brady at the Basic Black office. Chloe asks what the emergency is. Brady informs her that the DiMera Jet is waiting for them because he’s wisking her away.

Rafe gets up from bed and greets Ava in the kitchen. Rafe asks Ava about breakfast but Ava remarks that she decided not to make breakfast in case he had plans with Nicole.

Nicole goes to the Brady Pub. Roman says they aren’t open yet. Nicole informs him that she came to see him and she’s sorry it took this long but she hasn’t been in the mood to see people. Nicole feels terrible that the party he hosted for her and Eric turned out to be such a disaster as she’s truly sorry. Roman responds that she should be.

Rafe tells Ava that he’s very sorry for missing dinner the other night as he should’ve called her to let her know that he was stopping by Nicole’s. Rafe adds that Nicole is Ava’s friend too and she’s going through a really rough time, so he assumed that she would be okay with it and she wouldn’t want her to be alone. Ava says that’s why she offered to bring dinner but Rafe told her not to. Rafe says Nicole said she didn’t want company. Ava questions her being company and he’s not. Rafe says that’s not what he meant. Ava tells him to start explaining because it sounds to her like he thinks he’s the only person on the planet who can help Nicole. Rafe clarifies that Nicole said she didn’t want a lot of people around as she’s depressed and could barely get out of bed. Ava mocks that. Rafe says that Nicole is hurting. Ava asks if that surprises him. Rafe says he would expect Nicole to be depressed given the circumstances. Ava argues that Nicole chose to cheat on her husband with Xander, so it’s her own fault that her marriage is over.

Roman talks about Eric coming all the way back from Africa to surprise Nicole for their anniversary, only to find out in public that she slept with another man that they both hate. Roman states that Eric was completely humiliated. Nicole says she made a terrible mistake that she will regret for the rest of her life, but she’s not the only one to blame here. Nicole argues that Sami wanted to blow up her life so she had Xander march in and give that announcement, without giving a damn about how much she hurt her brother.

Brady informs Chloe that he’s taking her to New York because a new distributor wants a face to face meeting today. Chloe asks why she has to go. Brady says that it’s because she works for him and is part of the company. Brady adds that Chloe can also see Parker and her parents. Brady wants to go get her bag and get on the jet. Chloe is not so sure if Philip would approve of them jetting off to New York together.

Philip asks Kate if this is about him dating Chloe. Kate says it’s about Jake and argues that he can’t bring him on board at Titan because he’s an untrustworthy jerk who will eventually stab him in the back. Philip understands that Kate is cynical when it comes to Jake, but he doesn’t fear that. Philip adds that Jake’s own family got rid of him with Kate casting the deciding vote, so he’s trusting that Jake is still so angry that he’ll be all in with helping he and Gabi crush DiMera. Kate reminds him that she works for DiMera. Philip says they both know she’ll be working just as hard at crushing them and may the best company win. Kate is afraid that Philip is becoming dangerously naïve as she doesn’t think he has completely thought what it means to get in bed with Gabi and Jake.

Gabi wonders why Philip stopped typing his e-mail. Jake suggests he could’ve gotten a phone call. Gabi complains that she needs to see the e-mail and what the issue is. Gabi wonders if Philip is in trouble again since not long ago, he was laundering money through Titan for his gambling debts. Gabi asks what if he’s doing it again and this is exactly what they need to get him out of Titan. Jake hopes she’s right but suggests there is something else they could do to pass the time. Gabi doesn’t want to miss anything important. Jake points out that the computer will still record if Philip starts typing again, so they don’t have to stare at the screen. Gabi gives in as she and Jake kiss in bed.

Rafe tells Ava that’s a harsh way to talk about her friend. Ava says that Nicole is her friend, but it doesn’t change the fact that she broke her vows. Rafe argues that she didn’t deserve to have it broadcast at her anniversary party. Ava argues that Nicole took a risk and knew that Eric might find out somehow. Rafe wants to put it in to context and brings up the night it happened being when Nicole got a call from Eric, saying he was extending his stay in Africa again. Rafe adds that Nicole was devastated, got drunk, and wasn’t thinking clearly then Xander took advantage of it. Ava questions Nicole getting a pass for cheating. Rafe clarifies that he’s not saying it’s okay, just that he understands it. Rafe adds that if they would’ve been there for her, it would’ve never happened. Ava questions it being their fault. Rafe says he’s just kicking himself for silencing his phone as he wishes he would’ve got Nicole’s call. Ava asks if he wishes that, so he could’ve slept with her instead.

Nicole tells Roman that Xander didn’t just decide to tell the whole world about what happened between them and she knows he didn’t do it for free. Roman questions if she has proof that Sami paid him off. Nicole says no but Sami hounded her for weeks afterwards and told her that she would do whatever it took to expose her. Nicole adds that Belle is convinced that Sami set this whole thing up. Roman says it pains him to hear that Sami would hurt her brother like that. Nicole guesses he isn’t surprised though. Nicole says that ever since she and Eric got married, Sami has been on a mission to break them up. Roman says that either way, she still cheated on Eric, a wonderful and honest man. Roman argues that she knows what a decent, kind, loving man Eric is so he questions how the hell she could hurt him like that.

After Gabi and Jake have sex, she tells him it was great as usual and then goes back to her laptop. Gabi says she’s just sticking to their plan to take over the world because she hates what Jake’s family did to him when he was doing such a good job. Gabi declares that she will teach them that messing with them was the biggest mistake they ever made and when Philip is gone, she will generate more money than he ever could for Titan. Gabi notes that the key stroke is not the only thing to get them in since Jake needs to have a really good follow up interview so that Philip hires him. Jake says he better shower and not be late.

Philip tells Kate that Gabi Chic just had it’s best quarter ever and Gabi has repeatedly said they have a great working relationship. Kate argues that it’s all part of Gabi’s plan which he questions. Kate talks about Gabi lulling him in to a false sense of security and then she’ll convince him to hire Jake because he’d be so useful in accomplishing their mutual goals, but the whole time they will be working behind his back to bring him down. Philip calls her paranoid. Kate warns that he can’t underestimate Gabi. Philip tells her not to underestimate him. Philip admits that when he started this job, he made some stupid mistakes that put his family and company at risk. Philip promises that there is no scenario where he or Victor would allow Titan to be run by a pair of DiMeras. Kate knows how much it means to him that Victor gave him a second chance, but warns that he can’t be comfortable because if Victor is ever convinced that there is someone else who can do his job better than he can, he will have him out in a heartbeat. Philip assures that he will keep his eyes on Gabi and Jake, but he’s the one using them. Kate says if he just needs information about DiMera, there’s better ways to get it, like from his girlfriend Chloe.

Brady asks Chloe why Philip would have a problem with her taking a business trip. Chloe brings up Philip being sensitive about them spending time together. Brady asks what he’s whining about now. Chloe reminds Brady about Nicole and Eric’s anniversary party and how she went after Brady to make sure things didn’t get ugly with Xander, but she left Philip hanging at the Pub by himself and he got worried about what they might do together alone. Brady remarks that it would be Philip’s problem, not theirs.

Philip questions Kate suggesting he pump Chloe for information on DiMera. Philip says he would never use her like that and she would never betray Nicole. Kate argues that if he turns on the Philip charm, she’ll tell him everything but he refuses. Philip admits that he did try to get Chloe to jump ship but she turned him down. Kate asks if he thought she’d be an asset to Titan or did he just want to get her away from Brady. Philip declares that he lost her to Brady once and he won’t lose her again, adding that she assured him that he’s the one she wants to be with. Kate remarks that Jake assured her too and look how that turned out.

Nicole tells Roman that she’s a little confused about his lack of understanding because she remembers Roman telling her it was wrong of Eric to leave her alone for so long and that if he wasn’t careful, it could drive her in to someone else’s arms. Roman acknowledges that Eric shouldn’t have stayed away as long as he did and he did feel that if another good man pursued Nicole during that time, he could understand she could be vulnerable, but they both know that is a far cry from what happened between her and Xander. Nicole apologizes. Roman tells her that she should’ve come clean with Eric right away since if she was honest from the beginning, she could’ve spared all of them a lot of pain.

Rafe can’t believe Ava just said that. Ava claims it just slipped out. Rafe argues that she keeps twisting everything he says. Rafe clarifies that if he answered Nicole’s call, she wouldn’t have ended up with Xander. Ava argues that if he answered her call that day, he would’ve bailed on their date and very possibly would’ve ended up in bed with Nicole. Rafe declares that never would’ve happened because he’s involved with Ava. Ava says to never say never. Rafe argues that they have been over this so many times and he’s told her that he does not have feelings for Nicole. Ava admits she didn’t believe him then either. Rafe notes that they obviously have a big problem. Ava says maybe it was wrong to suggest that he would’ve slept with Nicole while she was still married, but her marriage is over, so she wants Rafe to be honest with her and himself about who he really wants to be with. Rafe repeats that he does not have feelings for Nicole and she is his friend. Ava argues that she’s the friend he dreams about, drops everything for, and is always on his mind. Ava says it’s obvious he cares very deeply for her. Rafe admits that he does, but that does not mean he has desires. Ava yells at Rafe to just admit that he wants to sleep with Nicole right as Gabi and Jake come out from the bedroom. Gabi apologizes at it sounded like they interrupted a very personal conversation. Rafe claims it’s nothing but Gabi says it doesn’t sound like nothing. Jake mentions missing breakfast which Gabi is offended by but Jake suggests they just hurry up and go. Gabi apologizes again but reminds Ava that she did try to warn her as she and Jake exit. Rafe asks Ava what exactly Gabi warned her about. Ava admits it was his feelings for Nicole.

Nicole tells Roman that she tried to come clean with Eric and even wrote him an e-mail confessing to everything she did, but she couldn’t bring herself to send it to him. Roman wishes she had, so she could’ve taken care of this in private and Eric wouldn’t have been humiliated in front of everybody he knows. Nicole says the regret over hurting him is killing her and she hates herself for what she did, but there’s nothing she can do to change it. Nicole adds that before Eric left, they did talk and had it out and he acknowledged that it was wrong of him to put their life on hold. Roman questions her blaming him. Nicole insists that she would never, but as far as their marriage falling apart, they realized it was inevitable since as much as they love each other, they are just different people who are better off apart. Roman tells Nicole that it’s a nice little story, but she doesn’t get to put a nice little ribbon on this. Nicole just wanted him to know that they parted peacefully. Roman knows Eric is a good man, who is kind and forgiving. Roman warns that Eric will live with the pain she caused because he never loved anyone the way he loved her. Roman declares that no matter what his parting words were, he will never be the same and there will be many moments in the coming years where he will think of her and that pain will still be there and he’ll tell himself that maybe he just wasn’t good enough for her. Nicole cries that Roman is right and she’s a terrible person, who destroyed Eric and their marriage, so she deserves to live in misery for the rest of her life.

Philip tells Kate that he’s sorry she was hurt but she has to stop comparing his relationship with Chloe to what happened between her and Jake. Kate argues that he is her son so she will never stop trying to protect him. Philip says he doesn’t need protection from Chloe. Kate declares that Chloe has hurt him so many times, so she’s not going to let that happen again. Kate asks if her feelings for Brady are just going to magically disappear when they work with each other every day. Philip says Chloe comes home to him every night and it’s great as he can feel their connection getting deeper every day. Philip states that it’s only a matter of time before she is really, truly his. Kate goes with whatever he says and reminds him not to forget what she said about Jake. Kate warns that if Philip hires Jake, he will regret it. Kate tells Philip that she loves him and she’s just looking out for him as they hug. Kate then exits the office.

Chloe tells Brady that she and Philip are in a relationship, so she needs to take his feelings in to account. Brady calls his feelings pathetic. Chloe feels it’s just respect and courtesy. Brady asks what’s wrong with going on a business trip with her boss. Chloe suggests she can go with Nicole. Brady argues that she doesn’t deal with the client directly and he’s expecting to see him. Chloe suggests he go with Nicole then. Brady asks why she’s fighting him on this as he thought she would jump at the chance to see her family in New York. Chloe is confused as first he says it’s about business, then he’s saying he can see her family, so she asks what difference it makes who goes as long as they make the meeting, unless he wants her to go with him so they can spend time together alone. Brady asks why he would need to be alone with her when he’s alone with her all the time at the office. Chloe says an overnight trip to New York is kind of different. Brady gets a call from Nicole, saying she’s not coming in to the office today. Brady says it’s okay as he and Chloe got her covered. Brady asks if there is anything they can do to help. Nicole says she really needs some space right now and is going to take the rest of the week off. Brady assures that the’s there if she needs him as they hang up. Gabi then approaches Nicole outside the Pub and asks if she’s okay. Nicole responds that she’s not and she’s not sure she ever will be. Gabi says she’s sorry as she heard about what happened at her anniversary party. Nicole says she’s the one who should be sorry since Roman made it clear that she’s the one who brought this hell onto herself and Eric. Gabi acknowledges that Roman can be a little judgy. Nicole knows Roman thinks she’s a monster and the rest of the town does too. Gabi says not everyone, and definitely not Rafe.

Rafe questions Ava ever listening to anything Gabi has to say. Ava says normally she doesn’t since she’s always been hostile to her, but the other day, Gabi kept insisting that Rafe had feelings for Nicole while she kept saying that they are just friends. Rafe says that’s the truth. Ava asks if it is, since Gabi, who knows him better than anyone, seems to think that the only reason Rafe and Nicole weren’t romantic with each other was because she was married, but she’s single now. Ava adds that Gabi thinks maybe they will decide to take it to the next level. Rafe says that’s just Gabi being Gabi and playing mind games with her. Rafe can’t believe Ava fell for that. Ava guesses she’s just clueless and gullible.

Jake goes to the Titan office for his interview with Philip. Philip says he needs to decide today about hiring him. Jake sensed the first interview went well but he’s happy to clear up any questions or concerns. Philip informs him that Kate was just there, trying very hard to persuade him not to hire him. Jake says that’s for very personal reasons. Philip brings up that Kate had a valid point in suggesting that Jake is a trojan horse as Kate thinks that Gabi wants to get Jake in the door, so they can team up and take him down. Philip asks if Kate’s right about that. Jake claims Kate is reaching and is just trying to hurt him as much as she can, since he hurt her. Philip agrees that her perspective is clouded by their break-up, but she is a very savvy business woman so he can’t just dismiss her theory. Jake brings up that everything he knows about the corporate world, Kate taught him. Jake declares that DiMera kicked him out and now he’s going to destroy them since he has the skills, the knowledge, and more motivation than he can imagine which is why Kate doesn’t want him working for Titan and also why Philip should hire him.

Brady informs Chloe that Nicole is going to be out for the week and he told her they would cover for her. Brady adds that he feels bad for her because she’s really hurting. Chloe suggests she should go find her but Brady mentions that she said she wanted space, so they should respect that. Brady adds that it also means Nicole can’t go to New York, so he and Chloe have no choice but to go together.

Nicole tells Gabi that Rafe is a wonderful friend and always finds a way to be there for her when she needs him. Nicole says she was a mess the other night when Rafe came over and he was so understanding and supportive. Gabi states that Rafe hates seeing her in pain. Nicole says after they talked, she told Rafe that he could go but he stayed and made her macaroni and cheese. Nicole admits it was very kind of him but he could’ve been home enjoying a wonderful meal with Ava, so she felt really guilty. Gabi remarks that if Rafe stayed with her, it’s because he wanted to. Nicole repeats that Rafe is a wonderful friend, but he has his own life so she’s not going to get in the way of that. Gabi tells her that Rafe lives to take care of the people he cares about. Gabi mentions that she just left Rafe at home and bets that Nicole is still on his mind. Gabi thinks Rafe would be grateful if Nicole went over there and leaned on him right now. Nicole is unsure but Gabi points out that it would save Rafe from having to come find her. Gabi encourages Nicole to go see Rafe so she walks away.

Rafe tells Ava that he never said she was gullible, just that she shouldn’t listen to a word that Gabi says since she doesn’t like her, so she’s messing with her. Ava says she doesn’t like Gabi either since she’s been trying to get her out since she moved in, but maybe Gabi is speaking the truth. Ava tells Rafe that she’s been watching him and Nicole for months, the looks they share, and the moments she’s walked in on. Ava brings up walking in to Nicole’s place and seeing Rafe holding Nicole in his arms. Rafe argues that he was comforting her. Ava calls Rafe the most honorable man she’s ever known, but thinks because of that he feels obligated to stay with her. Rafe insists that’s not true. Ava says he can continue to deny it but it’s not doing either of them any favors for him to continue to deny how he feels about Nicole. Ava then storms out of the house.

Philip tells Jake that he likes his confidence, but he can’t be too careful as he worked very hard to regain Victor’s trust. Philip declares that he can’t hire someone who plans to undermine him. Jake asks what his gut tells him. Philip says he was inclined to give him a shot but then Kate showed up. Jake appreciates his consideration, but if he’s going to put more stock in his mother’s opinion than his own instincts, then they have nothing further to talk about. Jake thanks Philip for his time and exits the office.

Brady tells Chloe that he will tell the pilot that they are on their way. Chloe asks why he really wants to take this trip with her.

Gabi finds Ava eating alone in the town square and remarks that breakfast at home must not have been very satisfying. Ava tells her to go away. Gabi feels that’s what Rafe wants Ava to do, now that Nicole is so available.

Nicole goes to Rafe’s house.

Xander goes to shower but Gwen shows up at his door. Xander asks what he can do for her. Gwen responds that she came to say she’s sorry.

Eli and Lani go to Paulina’s with their twins to meet Lani’s grandmother, Olivia. Olivia tells Eli that it’s great to finally meet him. Eli gives her flowers, so Olivia compliments his manners and tells Lani that she got the total package. They joke about what Paulina said when she met Eli so Olivia wants to know. Eli tells her that Paulina said he looked like a tall glass of chocolate milk. Olivia remarks that Paulina couldn’t help herself because she’s never met a line she wouldn’t cross.

Abe finds Paulina in the town square at the Horton Town Square plaque. Abe mentions the plaque being back where it belongs. Paulina informs him that Julie was just there and they buried the hatchet by agreeing to start over with a clean slate. Abe brings up that Lani told him they did the same. Paulina says she’s so grateful for that as she then asks what about her and Abe.

Tripp and Allie lay in bed together. Tripp then tells Allie that he loves her. Allie responds that she doesn’t know what to say.

At Julie’s Place, Chanel kisses Johnny. Johnny says he didn’t see that coming, but he’s glad it did. Chanel jokes that now everyone is looking at them. Johnny suggests they go somewhere more private.

Tripp says he didn’t mean to put Allie on the spot and she doesn’t have to say it back just because he did. Tripp adds that it felt right in the moment but it’s okay if she doesn’t feel the same way. Allie assures that she cares about him a lot, but she doesn’t know if she’s ready to say those words yet. Allie apologizes but Tripp says she has nothing to be sorry about and he doesn’t want to force anything. Tripp wants to just forget it ever happened but Allie wants him to understand why she didn’t say those words.

Johnny asks Chanel if he pushed it too far and says he was hoping that kiss wouldn’t be the last one. Chanel assures that she doesn’t get uncomfortable and agrees to get out of here and go to his place. Johnny calls for the check right away.

Xander asks Gwen what she’s sorry for. Gwen says she just heard he spent the night in jail and that couldn’t have been pleasant. Xander says it goes with the territory. Gwen tells him that he didn’t have to confess to Jack. Xander feels he did because Jack was on the brink of finding out she lied about her miscarriage. Gwen admits that she probably would’ve come clean in a few more moments. Xander notes that then she would’ve lost her father after spending her whole life without him and he only lost one night. Gwen argues that she can’t let him to go to prison for protecting her. Xander tells her it’s alright but Gwen says she should go to the police to tell them the truth. Xander tells her that she doesn’t have to confess because he’s not going to prison, since EJ DiMera agreed to represent him. Xander assumes Gwen knows EJ. Gwen confirms she knows his reputation but hasn’t actually met him. Xander assures that EJ is beyond capable and utterly ruthless, plus he already got him released on bail so he’s sure he will make all the charges go away. Gwen asks if he’s sure. Xander responds that he better, because he just spent a million dollars to retain him.

Paulina tells Abe that she knows how badly she hurt him, so she’d love the chance to make it up to him if he lets her. Abe mentions encouraging Lani to forgive her, so he’d by a hypocrite not to try. Paulina asks if they can start over too. Abe admits it might not be easy, but he would like to try, as they then kiss. Paulina tells Abe how much this means to her. Abe responds that he tried so hard to stay mad at her, but he can’t deny how he feels when he’s around her. Abe says it would be such a relief to get past the secrets and lies. Paulina agrees but Abe notes that she doesn’t look relieved.

Abe and Lani talk to Olivia about their babies. Olivia is sorry she wasn’t there for the wedding or the Christening. They assure that they know she wasn’t well enough to travel, but they are happy she is better. Olivia calls it a true blessing. Lani brings up Olivia saying she came to Salem to get a few things straight with Paulina, but didn’t say what those things were. Olivia flashes back to telling Paulina not to tell Lani that she is her mother. Lani asks Olivia what it was about.

Allie tells Tripp that she’s never said “I love you” to anyone she’s been with before, so it’s kind of a big deal. Tripp agrees. Allie asks if he’s said it before. Tripp admits he has, but it’s always a serious step. Tripp asks if she’s ever had a serious boyfriend. Allie says she dated a couple guys in Europe, but nothing like this. Allie tells Tripp that she loves being with him so much, but maybe she’s scared of saying something too soon or maybe it’s the trauma she went through last year, but she’s just not ready. Allie knows she’s saying too much, but she doesn’t want to hurt him, though she worries that she has hurt him.

Olivia tells Lani that when she found out Paulina was seeing Abe, she thought it was a very bad idea. Olivia argues that Paulina is choosing her sister’s ex out of all the men. Lani says they had a connection right away. Olivia cites the bible and says it’s wrong. Eli points out that Lani was unsure at first too. Lani admits she was weirded out at first, but she got over it. Lani adds that Abe and Tamara were never married and were over a long time ago. Olivia feels there could still be feelings. Lani says that Tamara is not worried about it, so she asks why Olivia is. Olivia guesses she’s just old fashioned.

Abe asks Paulina what’s wrong. Paulina claims that she was just thinking that the only thing good about breaking up is getting back together. Paulina adds that she would invite him over, but her mom is there. Abe mentions that Lani and Eli took the kids to see her. Paulina suggests going to Abe’s place then. Abe says that is tempting, but he wouldn’t mind meeting her mom since he’s heard so much about her. Paulina is unsure and says that Olivia is a handful with a lot of opinions about her, him, and Tamara. Abe assures that he’s not afraid of her opinions as he just wants her to know how much her daughter means to him. Abe says they just have to be open to the whole family if they are going to have a chance to make this work. Paulina says he always knows what to say, so she agrees to go see her mom and they walk off together.

Tripp assures Allie that it’s okay, as long as they are together and their relationship is moving in the right direction. Tripp adds that she never has to explain herself to him. Tripp gets a text from Kayla that he needs to get back to the hospital so he gets out of bed to go get dressed.

Johnny brings Chanel to the DiMera Mansion. Chanel jokes that he said his family had a big house, but didn’t say it was a mansion. Johnny then takes Chanel upstairs to his room, where they start kissing and undressing until Chanel stops and says they can’t do this. Johnny apologizes as he thought she wanted this. Chanel says she does but asks if he has protection. Johnny says he does and looks through his bag but can’t find it. Johnny says he’ll run to the pharmacy and he’ll be back in 20 minutes. Chanel stops him and says maybe they should just hang out for awhile. Chanel realizes maybe she was rushing things and not for the right reasons. Johnny tells her that he gets it and guesses it’s because of the girl she was telling him about earlier.

Allie goes to John and Marlena’s and thanks Marlena for watching Henry. Marlena says she enjoys it and mentions that Henry is in the other room with John, playing with building blocks, so she will go get him for her. Allie stops her and asks if they can talk first. Marlena says of course, so they sit down together. Marlena asks what’s going on. Allie responds that it’s Tripp. Marlena asks if there’s a problem. Allie says no as he’s great, but he just told her that he loves her. Marlena questions if that upset her. Allie explains that it upset her because she couldn’t say it back to him.

Tripp goes to Kayla’s office at the hospital. Kayla tells him that he’s not on staff tonight. Tripp says if anyone asks, she called him in. Kayla asks why she’s being used as the excuse. Tripp informs Kayla that he told Allie that he had to go back to the hospital because things were going really well with them and they had a great day, so he went for it and told her that he loved her, but she didn’t say it back. Tripp questions what he was thinking in saying it without knowing she was ready. Tripp worries that now he may have ruined everything.

Abe and Paulina go to Paulina’s apartment. Abe greets Eli, Lani, the twins, and Olivia. Olivia says there’s no introduction necessary since Tamara showed her his picture a long time ago so she’d know him anywhere. Abe tells her it’s lovely to meet her and he’s very glad to have her in Salem as he’s heard so much about her. Abe assumes she knows his history with her other daughter. Olivia says that’s one way of putting it. Abe says that he and Tamara were together many years ago and they share Lani, but he wants her to know that he very much cares for Paulina. Olivia thought they had broken up. Paulina informs her that they just got back together, which surprises Lani as well. Eli congratulates them and says that’s great. Olivia questions them being okay with this. Lani says if they want to be together, but Olivia calls it a terrible mistake and adds that Paulina knows why. Lani questions why. Abe assumes it’s about the lies that Paulina told them about Price Town. Abe assures that he has forgiven Paulina about everything and they have agreed to start fresh. Paulina declares they are all good so Olivia can give her blessing.

Gwen can’t believe Xander gave up a million dollars just to protect her and she doesn’t know what to say. Xander says she doesn’t have to feel guilty as she didn’t ask him to be the fall guy. Gwen points out that he needed that money. Xander admits he didn’t work hard for it and there’s always another opportunity around the corner. Gwen knows that he really struggled to gain respect. Xander says money and respect are not the same. Xander then suggests maybe he is growing as a person. Gwen doesn’t know how to thank him as no one has ever done something so selfless for her before. Xander doesn’t think he’s ever done anything so selfless for someone before, so maybe they are both just exploring new territory. Gwen notes that he did all of this for her. Gwen takes his hand and thanks him as they then end up kissing. They continue kissing on to the bed.

Tripp tells Kayla that after everything Allie has been through, the last thing she needs is someone pressuring her. Kayla feels he was just being honest about his feelings. Tripp feels that he put her in such an awkward position. Tripp notes that Allie said it was fine but he could tell she was uncomfortable. Kayla is sure that she didn’t want to hurt his feelings and probably just needs time. Tripp worries that she might take time and realize she will never love him back.

Marlena asks Allie about her caring for Tripp. Allie assures that he’s the best guy she’s ever been with and they have fun together and he’s so good with Henry. Marlena notes they weren’t having any problems before he said he loved her. Allie says she just heard those three words and froze. Marlena asks if she had any doubts before that. Allie reveals that she did have a dream that shook her up a bit where she was in bed with Tripp, but Chanel was there too.

Chanel asks if Johnny always analyzes the girls he wants to sleep with. Johnny says she wanted to talk and he can’t help but wonder if maybe the reason that she kissed him and came to his bedroom is the same reason that she pulled back. Johnny guesses she’s not over this girl. Chanel questions if he’s saying that she’s using him to get her out of her system, so Johnny asks if she is.

Kayla tells Tripp that trauma recovery is rarely a straight line, but the fact that Allie can have a healthy relationship and be close to him is a huge step and a testament to how supportive and patient he’s been, but triggers can happen anytime as she knows from experience. Tripp asks what if it’s not about the trauma or Charlie. Kayla asks if he’s afraid that her feelings aren’t as strong for him as his are for her. Tripp adds that he’s also afraid it might be because of someone else.

Johnny asks Chanel if it’s about the girl. Chanel says no and yes. Chanel admits maybe she was trying to prove something to herself, but she really does like him too. Johnny is glad to hear that. Chanel says she just needs to accept that the girl is with someone else, so she has no choice but to get over her. Johnny jokes that she knows where to find him if he can ever help her with that. Chanel says she has to go and catch her grandma before she heads back to Florida. They then kiss each other goodnight.

Eli takes pictures of Olivia and Lani with the babies and says he’ll text everyone the pictures. Lani notes that the twins are getting fussy, so they are going to pass on dinner and head home. Olivia assures that they understand. Olivia tells Eli that it was good to meet him. Eli asks her to come back and see them soon. Lani says it was so good to see her. Olivia calls her babies a true miracle and says she’s so proud of her. Lani says goodbye to Abe and Paulina as she and Eli then take the babies and exit. Olivia jokes that she misses them already. Paulina invites Abe to stay for dinner but Abe thinks he should let her and Olivia have some mother-daughter time. Abe adds that they have all the time in the world. Abe tells Olivia that it was wonderful to meet her and tells Paulina that he will see her tomorrow as he then exits the apartment. Paulina then tells Olivia to get that damn frown off her face.

Allie reminds Marlena that Chanel is the girl that she told her about that had kissed her. Allie adds that it’s not just the dream that is making her wonder. Marlena asks what else is making her wonder. Allie informs Marlena that Chanel met a guy that she likes and she felt a little jealous. Allie adds that she and Tripp almost walked in on Chanel’s date but she panicked and made Tripp leave, but she’s not sure why. Marlena suggests she didn’t want to see Chanel with someone else. Allie says if she still has feelings for Chanel, she wants to get past them because she wants to be with Tripp and to be able to say that she loves him back. Allie says in a perfect world, Chanel would be in love with her new guy and she’d be in love with Tripp and everyone would just be happy. Marlena states that sometimes, things aren’t that neat and tidy because feelings are messy. Marlena says telling someone that you love them is very powerful, so she shouldn’t rush in to that, especially if she’s confused about it. Marlena thinks Allie should sort out her feelings before moving forward with Tripp. Allie agrees and thanks her for talking to her about this. Marlena hugs her and assures she’s always here for her. Marlena then goes to get Henry for her.

Chanel and Johnny continue kissing until she says she has to go. Johnny tells her to text him. Chanel suggests maybe she’ll stop by and surprise him some night. Johnny assures that next time he will be prepared as Chanel then exits.

Xander and Gwen lay in bed together. Xander jokes that was well worth a million dollars as they kiss. Xander suggests they could have champagne to celebrate his release from jail but Gwen worries that it would be bad luck to celebrate before EJ gets the charges dropped. Xander asks if there’s anything else he can do for her and suggests making love again as they continue kissing in bed.

Kayla asks Tripp if he means Allie’s friend that she had a thing for which Tripp confirms. Kayla thought she put those feelings aside. Tripp says that Allie says he’s the only one she wants to be with. Kayla asks if he’s doubting her. Tripp says he shouldn’t as they’ve been spending so much time together and she’s never given him a reason to question her. Tripp adds that he can’t help but wonder if maybe she hasn’t put those feelings aside completely and if that’s why she couldn’t bring herself to say she loves him.

Allie gets a call from Chanel, who tells her that she and her mom signed the rest of the paper work for the bakery so they are all set. Chanel adds that it’s been a good day as she even ran in to that guy again and had a drink at Julie’s Place. Allie reveals that she and Tripp ran in to her mom outside. Chanel asks why they didn’t come in as she could’ve introduced them. Allie says they didn’t want to get in the way. Allie asks if she had fun. Chanel says it was cool and that he’s a lot of fun. Allie tells her that she’s happy for her. Chanel says she has to go home to say goodbye to her grandma so they hang up.

Eli and Lani go home and put the twins to sleep. Eli comments that Olivia is a trip and they can see where Paulina gets it from. Lani calls it nice having the family all together today. Eli remarks that it seems every time someone arrives, someone leaves. Lani knows Abe will really miss Theo, but she is happy that he and Paulina are back together, because she hated the thought of him being lonely. Eli says he knew they would work it out, but he’s surprised that Lani came around, though he’s glad that she did. Lani is happy they finally have all the lies and secrets behind them…

Paulina tells Olivia that Abe wanted to give them alone time but she thinks he was just done with Olivia’s nonsense because she was rude to him. Olivia responds that she can’t hide her true feelings. Paulina argues that it’s not about her. Olivia says it’s about her family and warns Paulina that she’s playing with fire. Paulina declares that if she wants to be with Abe, she can’t stop her. Olivia argues that Paulina is fooling herself if she thinks she can tell Abe the truth, because if Lani finds out the truth, she’ll never forgive her and neither will Abe. Olivia adds that Paulina just got Abe back, but if he finds out the truth, he will kick her to the curb so fast. Paulina assures that she hears her and she’s right. Olivia wants Paulina to promise her. Paulina knows that if she told Lani that she’s her mother, then she and Abe would never forgive her for lying all these years, so if she wants Lani and Abe in her life then she will have to take her secret to the grave.

Xander waits in the interrogation room at the police station until EJ enters, surprising him. Xander notes that it’s been ages and asks what EJ is doing here, joking about a possible Nashville reunion. Xander adds that he looks well since he’s seen him last. EJ says that word on the street is that Xander got himself into legal trouble, so he’s here to offer his services.

Johnny and Chanel sit together at Julie’s Place. Johnny asks her to tell him all about her Sweet Bits Bakery. Chanel talks about baking ever since she can remember and she’s great at it, so she calls it a lifelong dream come true. Johnny congratulates her and says he can’t wait to try her sweets. Chanel thanks him and says she’s really excited about it. Chanel adds that the best part is, she gets to work with her BFF. Johnny then asks who her BFF is.

Allie goes to the hospital to see Tripp. She jokes about bothering him at work then suggests they hang out after he gets off, unless he has other plans. Tripp assures he has no plans. Allie then surprises Tripp by informing him that Ben and Ciara got remarried.

Ben goes home with Ciara. Ben complains about being unable to carry her over the threshold because he’s on crutches. Ciara suggests they walk in together as equal partners which Ben agrees with. Ben welcomes her home as they kiss.

Jack and Julie inform Gwen at home that Xander is in jail, which shocks her. Jack explains that he called the police while Xander was packing and then Shawn caught him in the town square, so he’s been there all night. Gwen asks when he was going to tell her. Jack says he didn’t want to upset her. Julie tells Jack that he invited a murderer in to their house and questions him being surprised that he went again and murdered somebody on their sofa. Jack points out that Xander didn’t murder Dr. Snyder, as he died of medical causes, but he did dump the body to try to cover up their connection. Julie questions what connection a criminal and a doctor could have in common. Jack reveals to her that they were running an illegal drug ring and that Xander roped Gwen in to it, but she was just an innocent victim.

Xander doesn’t understand since EJ is running DiMera. EJ reminds him that he’s still an attorney with a valid law license. Xander assumed EJ would still be upset with him. EJ asks if he means because he tried to murder his wife. Xander says that’s allegedly. EJ then declares that he’s not upset that Xander tried to kill Sami and Lucas, but that he didn’t finish the job.

Ben complains about having to be in a small apartment above a repair shop but Ciara assures that she loves it here and it’s perfect. Ben tells her to feel free to make any changes. Ciara jokes about Ben liking things in a particular way. Ben tells Ciara that the only thing he can’t lose ever again is her as they kiss. Ben reminds her that last time they got married, they didn’t even get to enjoy their wedding night so he thinks they should make up for lost time. Ciara agrees as they continue kissing.

Tripp tells Allie that it’s great that Ciara and Ben are back together. Allie adds that Ciara and Claire made up right before Claire left town. Tripp is surprised to learn that Claire left town as Allie informs him that she went to South Africa to work with Theo and JJ. Tripp calls that a big change. Allie notes that she seems really excited so she’s happy for her. Tripp guesses that she must be bummed about her cousin leaving town right after her mom took off. Allie admits it’s bittersweet, but she knows Claire will do great in South Africa. Allie adds that things just evened out with her family because her twin brother Johnny is back in town.

Chanel explains to Johnny that she met her BFF back in her London partying days, but they are both mature and serious business women now. Chanel says she’s the best and that Johnny will love her. Johnny asks if she has a name but they get interrupted by Paulina arriving. Paulina says she’s so glad that she ran in to her. Chanel introduces Johnny to Paulina. Johnny jokes that he sees where Chanel gets her good looks. Chanel asks if Paulina has something to go do right now. Paulina asks if she’s interrupting. Chanel says yes but Johnny says no. Paulina asks if they are on a date. Chanel says no, but Johnny says yes.

Xander questions EJ saying that he wishes he had killed Sami. EJ asks if he can blame him since she was screwing around behind his back. Xander says he knew it and that was his idea. Xander informs EJ that he was the one who first suspected that Sami and Lucas hooked up and put the idea in Nicole’s head. EJ says that the truth all came out in the end and Sami is no longer in the picture. EJ adds that’s enough about the past as he wants to talk about Xander’s future. EJ points out that he’s in desperate need of a lawyer, so he’s willing to represent him on the condition that Xander gives him back the 1 million dollars that Sami gave him to expose Nicole.

Tripp asks if Allie knew her brother was coming. Allie says she had no idea and he just showed up in the town square. Tripp asks what the occasion is. Allie tells him that it’s money of course as he came to hit up his parents for financing for his new film project, but Sami isn’t here and EJ shot him down because he wants Johnny to work at DiMera and that did not go over well. Tripp asks if Johnny is going back to Italy then. Allie admits that she doesn’t know since he didn’t say, but she’s going to do everything in her power to convince him to stay. Allie says she hasn’t seen him in forever and they have so much to catch up on. Allie adds that she didn’t even get a chance to tell him about the bakery. Tripp then gets an idea and suggests setting Johnny up with Chanel.

Johnny tells Paulina that the confusion is all his fault because he’s completely captivated by her beautiful daughter and may have gotten ahead of himself in thinking this was a date. Paulina remarks that Chanel could do a lot worse than him and has. Johnny invites Paulina to join them so she sits at the table. Johnny says he can’t wait to hear all the details. Paulina says she respects Chanel’s privacy so it’s up to her. Chanel then informs Johnny that she was recently married to a criminal but it was nothing, over and done with, just a mistake. Johnny says that’s good news if it means he has a shot. Paulina thinks that Chanel should give Johnny a chance, unless she’s still doing the girl thing. Johnny then asks what girl thing.

Julie asks how Jack could possibly believe that Gwen is innocent, because from day one, every word out of her mouth has been lies. Jack argues that people are capable of change and Gwen has been through a lot including a great loss. Gwen says he doesn’t have to defend her but Jack feels he does. Jack brings up Xander confessing and admitting to dragging Gwen in to this mess, so he deserves all the blame. Jack asks why Xander would lie and deliberately incriminate himself. Julie suggests it could be to protect Gwen.

Xander asks EJ why Sami would give him a million dollars. EJ reveals that Sami told him all about it, so he doesn’t care that Xander thinks he earned it. EJ says the money is his and he wants it back. Xander asks what if he already spent it. EJ informs him that he’ll always be two steps ahead of him and that he knows Xander had the money when he was arrested it and that it’s being held in evidence because they think it could be connected to his drug operation. Xander argues that a million dollars is an expensive attorney fee. EJ asks if it’s worth the price of his freedom. Xander says he could hire another attorney for way less. EJ reminds him that he’s two steps ahead. EJ declares that Xander is in a world of trouble and he’s the only one who could help him.

Ben and Ciara continue kissing in bed. Ciara talks about fun this will be all day every day on their honeymoon. Ciara asks where he wants to go. Ben says where ever will make her happy. Ciara talks about dreaming of their future when Vincent held her captive and that gave her hope until she could see him again. Ciara tells him that one of the dreams was about their honeymoon, so Ben asks her to tell him about it. Ciara flashes back to dreaming of planning their honeymoon. Ben tells her that he thinks they had the same dream.

Allie questions Tripp wanting to set Johnny up with Chanel. Tripp knows it’s a crazy idea and he doesn’t even know Johnny or if he has a girlfriend. Allie says he doesn’t, but he did say he was interested in someone. Allie adds that when she was with Chanel, she was messaging a guy and she seemed pretty in to him. Tripp guesses his plan was lame. Allie says not necessarily but asks if Tripp wants to go get food. They agree on Julie’s Place and exit the hospital.

Johnny asks Chanel what the girl thing is about. Chanel reveals that she’s sexually fluid. Paulina clarifies that it means she’s in to boys and girls and everything in between. Paulina adds that she only knows about one girl so far but she has no problem with it and assumes Johnny doesn’t either. Johnny says of course not and mentions having a brother who is gay. Paulina asks if Johnny is fluid too. Johnny assures that he’s 100% in to women, one in particular.

Jack argues that Xander would never throw himself under the bus for Gwen when they barely even like each other. Julie then reveals to him that she walked in on Xander and Gwen having sex on the sofa about a month ago. Jack turns to Gwen and asks if that’s true. Gwen calls a momentary lapse of judgment and says they started fighting immediately after, so Xander would never lift a finger to help her. Jack agrees that Xander has only ever been out for himself, so he’d never take the blame if he didn’t have to. Julie calls Xander a stupid, self serving bastard but she still smells something suspicious here. Julie says she doesn’t have time to discuss who is the rotten egg, because today is the day that Tom and Alice’s plaque is being put back in the Horton Town Square, so she wants to be there to make sure it goes smoothly. Julie then brings up if Tom and Alice knew what was going on under their roof as she walks out of the house.

Xander tells EJ that he’s aware of the severity of his situation, but he’ll just hire Justin and get the family discount. EJ asks when Justin last won a case. Xander admits that’s a fair point and brings up that he just lost a custody case to Sami and she’s not even a lawyer. EJ tells Xander that if he wants to avoid prison, he’s going to need someone who can pull strings and someone with considerable influence, which would be him.

Gwen thanks Jack again for defending her even though she doesn’t deserve it after everything she has done. Jack argues that she’s worked really hard to turn things around so all that other stuff is in the past and in this case, she did nothing wrong as it was all on Xander. Gwen knows Xander betrayed him, but she did too and he found it in his heart to give her a second chance, so maybe Xander deserves one too. Jack doesn’t understand since Xander put her in a terrible position and brought all this on her, so he questions why she’s defending him.

Xander tells EJ that the case against him isn’t that strong. EJ reminds him that he confessed to two witnesses and a third can place him with Dr. Snyder. EJ warns that prosecutors will want to make an example out of him, so he’s screwed. Xander questions how his involvement changes things. EJ says it’s his name since his father nurtured ties with a number of judges and top men in the justice department, so all he has to do is pick up the phone. EJ can guarantee Xander walks free, but he wants what is his in exchange. Xander argues that if gives back all that money, he’ll be back to being broke again with no job, no place to stay, and no prospects. Xander thinks EJ can’t allow that to happen. EJ declares that he’s just lost his patience so he can enjoy living the rest of his life in a cell with Clyde Weston. EJ then gets up to leave but Xander stops him.

Chanel tells Paulina that it’s time to go now. Paulina says she can tell her all her about date when she gets home which Chanel questions. Paulina assumed since they worked things, out that she would move back home. Paulina adds that her grandmother wants to see her. Chanel can’t believe Olivia is in town and well enough to travel. Paulina says she’d be surprised what she’s capable of but she would love to see her. Chanel then agrees to move back in and tells her to go. Paulina tells Johnny that she hopes to see him again real soon as she exits Julie’s Place. Johnny then asks Chanel about the girl she’s in to.

As she leaves Julie’s Place, Paulina runs in to Tripp and Allie. Paulina jokes with Allie about teaching Chanel some manners since she just told her to get lost. Allie is surprised to learn Chanel is inside. Allie thought things were fine with them now. Paulina says they are and she even convinced Chanel to move back in. Allie asks why Chanel would tell her to get lost then. Paulina reveals that Chanel is on a date, so Allie wonders who she is with.

Ben tells Ciara about all of his wild dreams of their future too and one of them was just like she had where they were packing for a tropical honeymoon. Ben calls it incredible and asks what else she dreamed. Ciara mentions a dream where she was pregnant. Ben says he had that dream too and in his dream, she gave birth to a boy. Ciara had the same dream as she mentions they named their son Bo, after her dad. Ben tells Ciara that he loves her and they acknowledge that they are really connected as they kiss.

Chanel tells Johnny that the girl is none of his business and assures that she’s not his competition. Johnny brings up Chanel saying that she liked someone who liked someone else and guesses that’s the girl, which Chanel admits. Chanel assures that he has nothing to worry about as they are just friends. Johnny asks if it’s the same girl who is her business partner.

Paulina tells Allie and Tripp that Chanel is with a very charming boy and she thinks they just met, but she approves. Paulina says she has business to take care of in the town square, so she will see them later and walks away. Tripp guesses this is their chance to meet Chanel’s new mystery man. Allie suggests they give Chanel some privacy after her mom just interrupted her date. Tripp agrees and asks where they go instead. Allie suggests they spend some time alone. Tripp agrees and they walk away.

Gwen tells Jack that she’s been in Xander’s shoes and knows what it’s like to be so desperate. Jack feels there is no excuse and declares that he will never forgive Xander for putting her in danger. Gwen argues that she never felt in danger. Jack complains that she could’ve gone to jail and worries that he could’ve lost his daughter when he just found her. Jack hopes she knows that he loves her. Gwen responds that she loves him too as Jack hugs her.

Xander tells EJ that he’s open to half of the million. EJ says that will be half of a life sentence. Xander argues that he has to come out with something. EJ says he’ll get his freedom. EJ reminds Xander that DiMera owns Basic Black so he has the power to reinstate him. Xander asks if he would do that. EJ admits that there’s no love lost between he and Brady, so it will be extremely enjoyable to push his buttons. EJ asks if they have a deal. EJ hands Xander the contract and tells him that all he has to do is sign the contract to pay him a million dollars for his services. EJ guarantees Xander won’t see jail time and that he will get bail so he can walk out in 15 minutes. EJ asks if they have a deal.

Xander returns to his room at the Salem Inn and remarks that at least the place won’t cost him a million a night and has a private shower. Xander goes to shower but Gwen shows up at his door.

Julie sits at the Horton Town Square plaque in the town square. Paulina appears and says Julie’s grandparents are back where they belong and she’s relieved to see it. Julie feels all is right with the world again. Paulina apologizes again for causing all that trouble. Julie says she appreciates that. Paulina informs Julie that Lani reached out yesterday and agreed to give her another chance so they can start over. Paulina thought maybe she and Julie could do the same. Julie admits that she would like that, so they shake hands.

Chanel admits to Johnny that the girl she was interested in is her BFF and the girl working with her on the bakery. Johnny asks if that’s going to be weird. Chanel assures that it’s fine and she’s not at all hung up on her. Chanel asks how she could be when she has this cute boy in front of her. Chanel then kisses Johnny.

Tripp and Allie lay in bed together. Allie comments that she’s never been so happy ever. Tripp then tells Allie that he loves her.

Ben gets up and gets dressed then gives Ciara the shirt that he gave her. Ciara can’t believe he still had it. Ben then asks what’s a wedding without a first dance as he turns on music on his phone. Ciara then gets up so they dance together. Ciara tells him how happy that she is in this moment. Ben says he feels the exact same way as they kiss.

Belle goes to see Nicole at the Basic Black office and says she needs to discuss a legal matter. Nicole asks her to talk to Brady about it because she’s not in the best mood. Belle clarifies that it’s not business related, as she’s here on behalf of Eric for their divorce.

Johnny then comes up and surprises Allie. Allie gets up and excitedly hugs him, calling him her adorable older brother. Johnny says it’s great to see her too as Allie exclaims that she’s so happy he’s home.

Claire is surprised to see Ciara at her house. Ciara responds that she came straight to the cabin to see her. Claire mentions that Shawn told her that she got her memory back and she’s so happy for her. Claire says she would say she’s sorry for helping Ben kidnap her but she’s not because she truly believes she and Ben are meant to be together. Claire adds that she is sorry that Ben took her to the cabin because that could’ve been traumatic for her, so she understands if Ciara hates her. Ciara assures that she doesn’t hate her at all and is actually incredibly grateful, because without her she would’ve never remembered how much she loved Ben.

Ben returns home to his room on crutches. He looks at he and Ciara’s wedding photo with a smile, then reaches into his drawer for their wedding rings as he says “let’s do this”.

Allie questions Johnny not telling her that he was in town. Johnny jokes that he thought she would know through twin telepathy and he thought she liked surprises. Allie says she would’ve liked to welcome him home. Johnny says it’s the same old with EJ. Allie introduces Johnny to her son Henry and can’t believe it’s the first time that he’s meeting him. Johnny tells Allie that he’s so sorry for what Charlie did to her.

Ben goes to John and Marlena’s. They question what happened to put him on crutches. Ben says it’s nothing and that Ciara did it, right before she got her memory back which excites them. John mentions Belle calling last night with the good news. Ben still can’t believe it. Marlena says she’s so excited for them and she’s never seen Ben so happy. Ben confirms that he’s happier than he ever thought he would be again. Ben tells Marlena that they did it and he got her back.

Claire asks if Ciara is happy that she remembered her life with Ben because she wasn’t sure. Ciara knows she resisted it. Ciara acknowledges that Claire was brave and spent a night in jail so that Ben could have alone time with her. Claire feels she was selfish as she was hoping Ciara would remember their friendship too. Ciara confirms that she knows how much she loves her too. Ciara says it all came back to her and she’s so sorry for being horrible to her. Claire understands it’s not her fault as she was stuck in the past. Ciara tells her that she remembers now that they are in a good place and she forgave her for everything. Ciara declares that she wants them to be best friends again like they used to be. Claire responds that she would love nothing more as they hug. Shawn walks in and says it’s about time.

Nicole tells Belle that was fast. Belle says that Eric said he didn’t want to drag anything down and that nothing is being contested. Belle tells Nicole that if she signs, everything will go smoother for the both of them but advises that she should have a lawyer look at it first. Nicole says she doesn’t have a lawyer as she was trying to block it all out. Belle acknowledges that divorce is a painful process. Nicole thanks her for being diplomatic but says that she cheated on Belle’s brother with the worst person on the planet so she probably hates her. Belle says she’s the last person to judge anyone’s marriage. Belle adds that Eric did say he feels responsible too. Nicole reminds Belle that Sami also had a part of this. Belle says she figured Sami had a part in this but knows that Nicole got her back since Sami and EJ’s marriage is over now too. Belle feels that Sami probably got what she deserved because payback is a bitch. EJ then arrives and says that so is Sami.

Johnny tells Allie that he’s sorry for saying anything. Allie admits it’s painful to be reminded of how Henry came to be. Johnny apologizes for bringing up Charlie at all. Allie says it’s something that she has to learn to deal with, especially as Henry grows up since at some point, he will need to know who his father was. Johnny is sure that when the time comes, she will handle it like a pro. Johnny tells Allie that he’s proud of her for being such a great mom and moving past what happened. Allie thanks him and says it means a lot. Allie says that’s not enough about her life as she wants him to tell her everything about his life.

EJ tells Belle that he’s sorry for calling Sami a bitch. Belle acknowledges that she loves her sister but there’s a reason that everyone calls her Hurricane Sami, because she blows in, destroys everything, and then leaves a mess for everyone to clean up. Nicole asks if Sami asked Belle to do that this time. Belle says surprisingly no and that she got a text from Sami last night, saying she was leaving town because she needed time alone. EJ hopes Sami stays away forever. Belle says she has to run. Nicole tells her that she will get the paper work back to her as soon as she can. Belle tells them goodbye and exits the office. EJ asks Nicole about the paper work but Nicole says it’s none of his business. EJ reminds her that he’s CEO of her parent company. Nicole assures that it has nothing to do with Basic Black as it’s personal. Nicole asks EJ how she can help him. EJ responds that she already has helped him by telling him the truth about Sami and Lucas. EJ adds that his marriage was a farce and declares that thanks to her, he’s ended it and he’s very grateful.

Shawn tells Ciara and Claire how great it is to see them as best friends again. Shawn suggests a celebratory lunch. Ciara says she would love to but she has to go meet Ben at John and Marlena’s. Ciara hugs Claire and Shawn as she then exits. Shawn tells Claire that it seems like everything is back to normal again. Claire says not exactly because she didn’t want to say anything in front of Ciara since she was so happy. Belle then walks in and asks what’s going on. Shawn says it seems like Claire has something to tell them. Claire then announces to her parents that she is leaving Salem.

Allie asks Johnny what the latest is. Johnny informs her that he’s working on a new project, an independent film and he’s looking for investors. Allie calls that amazing. Johnny thanks her since some people think it’s a joke. Allie guesses he means his dad. Johnny confirms that EJ told him that no son of his would waste his time on something so frivolous. Johnny adds that EJ won’t happen, but he figured he’d ask Sami to back him but it looks like he just missed her. Johnny mentions hearing about EJ and Sami and calls it a mess. Allie says she went to see EJ to try to remind him of how much Sami loves him but he shut her down. Johnny thanks her for trying and asks where Sami is anyways. Allie admits that she’s not sure and she was worried but she got a text last night to let them know she was fine. Allie guesses that she just needed to get out of town. Johnny decides he’ll give her a call but Allie points out that Sami said she needed alone time. They agree that’s not like her at all. Allie relates to feeling overwhelmed and needing space, noting that Sami’s life was completely blown apart.

Nicole assumes that EJ spoke with Sami. EJ confirms that he told Sami that he never wants to see her again. Nicole guesses that must have been painful. EJ says not at all and it may be callous, but he feels liberated from living under the delusion that his wife still loved him. EJ adds that if Nicole didn’t give him the letter, he would’ve continued on clueless and Sami would’ve taken her dirty little secret to the grave. EJ says that Sami and Lucas might have continued their affair behind his back so he assures Nicole that he’s very happy the truth is out. Nicole says that’s a crock and he knows it.

Belle and Shawn question Claire moving to South Africa. Claire explains that she will be working for Theo and JJ. Belle asks if they just out of nowhere offered her a job. Claire informs them that their social media guy quit out of nowhere so she volunteered to step in because she lives for social media and she’s familiar with their brand. Claire thinks it will be fun and challenging so she’s really excited about it. Shawn admits that it does sound like a good fit but he doesn’t understand since she and Ciara just became friends again, which surprises Belle. Shawn adds that he walked in and they were hugging which was beautiful. Shawn reminds Claire that she waited a long time for that and he thought she would want more. Belle says they all do. Shawn asks if she can’t do the job remotely. Claire assures that she has to go to South Africa with Theo and she has to go today.

Ciara joins Ben at John and Marlena’s. Marlena says they are so thrilled for the both of them. Ciara thanks Marlena for all the love and support she’s given Ben, since she was there for him when she couldn’t be. Marlena says it was her pleasure. Ciara knows Ben wanted to express his gratitude in person, but he should get home to rest his ankle. Ben says not yet as there is one thing he has to do first. Ben then hands his crutches to Marlena and gets down on one knee. Ben knows the last time he did this, he said it would be the only time, but he thanks God that he gets to do it again. Ben then proposes to Ciara. Ciara asks where he got the ring. Ben admits he swiped it from her purse when she wasn’t looking. Ciara says yes to his proposal so Ben puts the ring on her finger and they kiss. Ben tells Ciara that he loves her so much and reveals that Marlena agreed to do the ceremony. Ciara asks if they should go home and pick a date to start planning but Ben thought they could do it right now. Marlena agrees to whatever time they like. Ben asks Ciara if they want it right now. Ciara says they definitely do as they kiss.

Claire thought Shawn and Belle would be happy for her. Belle assures that they are as it could be a great opportunity but it’s a lot to take in. Shawn says they know how much she cares about Theo and how bad she feels that he was hurt. Shawn asks if she’s sure she’s not doing this out of guilt. Claire says she’s very sure that it’s time for her to commit to something she really cares about, and for once she doesn’t mean a guy or a beauty contest. Claire calls this a real job. Belle points out that it’s halfway around the world. Claire points out that Belle moved halfway around the world for work too which she admits. Belle asks if she’s really ready. Claire acknowledges that she used to be scared to be on her own and she’d worry about controlling her insecurities and jealousy, but she doesn’t feel like that anymore. Claire feels confident and making peace with Ciara has given her even more courage. Claire declares that she really wants to do this so she asks her parents to support her. Shawn says of course they can. Belle adds that they believe in her. Claire hugs them as they cry. Shawn says they will miss her. Claire wants to say goodbye to Marlena and John because this is all happening so quickly. Belle decides they will go with her. Shawn says they want to spend every second they can with her until she leaves.

EJ questions Nicole thinking his happiness is a crock. Nicole says she knows EJ as she was married to him and he hid how he really felt back then. EJ goes over it coming to his attention that his wife is a lying slut and he expressed relief at knowing the truth and ending his marriage, so he questions how that’s hiding how he really feels. Nicole says that’s not what she meant. EJ goes over Sami cheating on him, repeatedly with a man who never stopped lusting after her. EJ says that whore is done making a fool out of him and asks if that’s still hiding how he really feels. Nicole understands he’s angry but feels underneath that anger is pain. EJ says that’s enough of their session. Nicole thinks he’s deflecting or dodging because he thinks admitting that he’s suffering would make people see him as weak. EJ argues that he spent the last several years suffering and never tried to hide it. Nicole says he can’t hide the physical pain but he always hid emotional suffering behind his rage. Nicole adds that EJ seems like a very strong person on the outside but she knows there is pain inside. Nicole knows EJ would do anything to not have to deal with it, which she relates to. Nicole tells EJ that he should deal with it and face it head on, because if he doesn’t then it just might eat him up alive.

Ben asks John to be their witness. John says hell yeah so Ben decides they have everything they need. Ciara asks if they should meet at the church but Marlena says they can do it right here as she’s ready whenever they are. Ben and Ciara declare that they are ready so John says to get the show on the road. Claire, Belle, and Shawn arrive. Ciara says she is so happy they are here because she and Ben have some amazing news. Claire responds that she does too. Ben tells Claire to go first. Claire announces that she’s moving to South Africa to work for Theo and JJ. Ciara asks why she didn’t tell her earlier. Claire says she was so happy that she didn’t want to ruin the moment, but now it’s time for her to say goodbye. Marlena comes back in and questions goodbye. Belle explains that Claire is moving to South Africa. Claire says she got an amazing job opportunity. John doesn’t like that and asks when she’s leaving. Claire reveals soon as she packs her bags which surprises them. Ciara points out that she just got her back. Claire says she will miss them all so much, but she knows this is the right choice for her. Shawn agrees it’s definitely a positive choice so they support her all the way. John agrees but asks what he’s going to do without her. Claire says it’s not forever and not that far away. Marlena says they will visit. Claire apologizes to suddenly dump this on them and wishes there was a way to make this easier. Ciara says there is and asks Claire to take care of Theo for her because she feels horrible for hurting him and it would be really good for him to have a friend like her around. Ciara adds that she was thinking Claire could finally be her maid of honor. Claire says she would love that but doesn’t know if she would be able to fly back for the wedding. Ciara reveals there’s no need for that because they are getting married right now which Claire can’t believe. Ben says they are serious and would love for them all to stay. Belle says they would be honored as it’s so exciting. Ciara says Claire is already her BFF as she agrees to be her maid of honor and they hug.

Allie tells Johnny that he’s just as stubborn as EJ and there’s no way he can make him do something he doesn’t want to do. Allie wants to talk about what really matters; his love life. Johnny asks who says he has one. Allie knows he’s leaving a trail of broken hearts throughout Europe and asks if there’s anyone special. Johnny says he doesn’t have a girlfriend but he did just meet someone that he’s definitely interested in getting to know better. Allie asks who she is but then gets a call from Ben. Johnny freaks out, knowing Ben as the necktie killer and argues that he killed three people and strangled their brother. Allie assures he’s not like that anymore and tells him to just chill. Allie answers the call and it’s Ciara, who says she had to call from Ben’s phone because Allie still has her phone. Allie says she’s sorry about that. Ciara tells her it’s all fine and wonderful as things all turned out for the best. Allie mentions that Lucas told her that she got her memory back which Ciara confirms. Ciara says she will tell her all about that later but she needs her phone back so she asks her to come to Marlena’s to give it to her. Allie says she’ll be right over and hangs up. Johnny questions if Allie is going to see Ben. Allie tells him that was Ciara which confuses Johnny. Allie says she doesn’t have time to explain right now but they will catch up later because she wants to hear all about his girl. Johnny says there’s not much to tell at least yet. Allie jokes that regardless, she needs to let her know that she’s in big trouble.

EJ tells Nicole that what’s important to him is the company. EJ declares that the subject of his now defunct marriage is closed, so he’s turning his attention to DiMera. Nicole says she tried. EJ informs Nicole that his son Johnny is back in town, so he asked him to come work for him but Johnny asked him for money to finance his independent film instead of embracing his legacy. EJ suggests Nicole talk to Johnny since she was his stepmother and he was always fond of her. EJ wants her to tell him that this is a wonderful place to work. EJ believes that Nicole’s charms could do the trick. Nicole questions if EJ is trying to pimp her out to his son.

Johnny sees the coming soon sign for Sweet Bits Bakery and wonders what the heck a Sweet Bit is. Chanel then approaches and tells him not to knock it until he tries it.

Allie goes to John and Marlena’s with Henry and asks if they are having a family reunion. Ciara informs her that it’s actually a wedding. Allie is surprised and realizes that’s why Ciara needed her phone. Ben asks her to stay for the wedding. Allie asks if she should go home and change or find someone to watch Henry but they say no. Ciara jokes that the dress code is last minute anyways. Ben adds that they are getting married because of Allie and Claire going out on a limb to help him, so he thanks them both. Claire hopes Allie doesn’t think she’s taking her place as maid of honor. Allie assures that she’s just happy Claire and Ciara are friends again and that Ciara and Ben are back together as it just feels like everything is the way it’s supposed to be. Ben declares that everyone is here so they can get this party started.

EJ tells Nicole that he would never pimp her out to anyone and just thought that she’d have better luck with Johnny than he’s had. Nicole says she’s not interested in coming between he and his son. Nicole predicts that if EJ keeps telling Johnny not to pursue his dream, he will defy him and go after it with a vengeance. EJ admits he shouldn’t have asked her to get involved and says that he’s learned if he wants something done right, he has to do it himself. EJ declares that one way or another, he will get Johnny to come around.

Chanel informs Johnny that Sweet Bits Bakery is her bakery. Johnny jokes that he’d love to sample some of her sweet bits. Chanel notes that it’s not open yet so she suggests they have lunch first.

Marlena begins the wedding ceremony of Ben and Ciara, noting that Ben asked her to keep it short and sweet. Ben says with all due respect, they can get it on with it. Ciara agrees, noting that she remembers everything they said to each other last time. Ciara says when people are as connected as they are, they can get through anything. Ciara states that Ben never gave up on her. Ben says he never will and reminds Ciara that her love fixed him. Ben states that he was shattered while they were apart, but even on his darkest days, he felt her love and that gave him hope that she would one day come back to him and he would be whole again, then it happened. Ben declares that they are together again and he’s completely healed, except his ankle. Ben tells Marlena to take them home so Marlena continues the ceremony. Ciara and Ben say I do and then exchange the rings. Marlena then pronounces Ben and Ciara as husband and wife, so they kiss as everyone applauds.

Allie has a dream about being in bed with both Tripp and Chanel. She then wakes up in bed with Tripp and turns off her alarm.

Chanel is in the town square looking at her Sweet Bits Bakery Coming Soon sign. She sits down at a table with her coffee and her phone. Chanel sees she has a text from Johnny and smiles as they start texting back and forth.

EJ sits inthe living room of the DiMera Mansion. EJ looks to the portrait of Stefano and declares that he’s going to bring Johnny around to the way they do things and he will soon learn that he’s the one in charge around here. Chad walks in and says he better not be talking about him. EJ clarifies that he was talking about Johnny because his prodigal son has come home.

Theo goes to the Brady Pub and meets with Claire. Claire thanks him for coming and offers him a coffee but Theo declines, saying he doesn’t have much time. Theo asks her what’s up. Claire says she wanted to say she’s so sorry that he was hurt by what happened at his wedding. Theo asks if she’s serious right now and complains about how Claire helped Ben kidnap Ciara and then put on her wedding dress so he would be left there standing, alone and humiliated like a total idiot.

Ben and Ciara wake up in bed together at the cabin. Ben tells her that this finally wasn’t a dream that she came back to him and they are back together as they start kissing. They talk about being hungry so Ciara gets up to check what they have. Ciara asks why he’s looking at her like that. Ben says he’s just admiring how beautiful she is. Ciara questions if that’s really all he’s thinking about. Ben asks what else he should be thinking about. Ciara brings up that since they have been apart, Ben hasn’t been with anyone while she was with Theo, so she is assuming that Ben is wondering if she and Theo slept together.

EJ informs Chad that Johnny spent the night in the bedroom recently vacated by Gabi and Jake. Chad mentions just talking to Johnny on video chat a week ago and he didn’t say he was coming. EJ suspects he thought the element of surprise would work in his favor. Chad asks what he wanted. EJ tells him that every child wants money from their parent. EJ tells Chad how Johnny wants to make his own film and is convinced it’s his calling, but he told him no because they are trying to build back their family legacy so he doesn’t have spare cash to throw around. EJ adds that Johnny didn’t react well since he expects everyone to support him and whatever his latest obsession is. EJ recalls when Johnny was able to persuade him in the past but says he no longer falls prey to his gift. EJ admits that Johnny is market savvy so he knows he would be an outstanding addition to the company. Chad tells him to offer him a job then. EJ explains that he did last night but Johnny turned it down and stormed out, outraged and insulted. EJ remarks that Johnny is never interested in any idea that comes from him which Chad relates to as a parent. EJ says he’s always been the annoying father or absent father but Johnny has enormous respect for Chad, so he suggests Chad could be the one to persuade Johnny to join the family business. Chad admits maybe he could, but asks what’s in it for him.

Chanel and Johnny continue texting back and forth. They joke about Johnny sending her shirtless selfies.

Tripp asks Allie what’s wrong. Allie says it’s nothing and she just thought Henry would be up before the alarm so now she’s late. Tripp guesses that Allie is worried about Chanel. Allie feels that she ditched her last night and doesn’t want her thinking that she did it again. Tripp says she better get going then and mentions that he has to go as well since Kayla is assigning him a new advisor today because of Dr. Snyder’s death. Allie tells Tripp that he can shower while she gets Henry prepared. Tripp suggests they shower together while Henry’s asleep so they get out of bed.

Claire tells Theo that he’s her friend and she loves him so much, but Ben is also her friend and she also loves him. Claire acknowledges that she hurt Theo for Ben and Ciara. Claire admits that she also did it for herself because she was desperate for Ciara to remember the rest of her life, including the part where she didn’t hate her anymore and forgave her. Theo sarcastically congratulates Claire on doing it as now Ciara remembers that Ben is the true love of her life and he was just good buddy Theo, destined to forever live in the friend zone. Claire knows she can’t make it easier for him which Theo agrees with. Claire starts to leave but Theo credits her for trying to warn him and acknowledges that if Ciara didn’t remember her life with Ben now, it would’ve happened later. Theo admits that he was bound to get hurt sooner or later and it was just a question of when, which he always knew.

Ben admits to Ciara that he’s curious but he didn’t want to ask her as he felt it wasn’t really his business. Ciara thinks that he should know so she informs him that she and Theo did not sleep together. Ben excitedly admits that’s a relief. Ciara explains that they were going to wait until after the wedding, but now she’s thinking it was her old self telling her new self that she’s not ready to sleep with anyone but Ben. Ciara is glad that she waited, because Ben waited for her and was faithful, even when she left him for another man and even when he thought she was dead. Ben stops and informs her that he actually has a confession to make.

Tripp rushes to his meeting with Kayla at the hospital. Tripp asks if he was late. Kayla says only by two minutes and guesses he was hung up at Allie’s. Kayla notes that she and Steve noticed he didn’t come home last night and he wasn’t working the night shift. Kayla jokes about giving him a hard time and says she’s so glad things are going well for he and Allie. Tripp talks about Allie being a great person and how he enjoys spending time with Henry. Kayla says it warms her heart after the tough year Allie had. Kayla recalls advising Tripp to take it slow since Allie was a rape survivor and says it was clear that Tripp knew what to do. Tripp says it did help talking to Kayla as he did exactly what she advised and now everything has worked out really well. Tripp adds that there’s only one problem. Kayla asks what that could be.

Chanel and Johnny continue texting. Johnny mentions that he owes her a drink after last night. Chanel tells him that her BFF is there so she has to go. Chanel puts her phone away as Allie arrives in the town square with Henry, apologizing for being late. Chanel says she was keeping busy by talking with a friend.

EJ tells Chad that they are family so he asks why there has to be something in it for him. Chad argues that it’s obvious that EJ is trying to consolidate power so that his children will inherit the CEO mantle when they are gone. Chad questions why he would be on board with that when he was maintaining the family legacy while EJ wanted nothing to do with the company, so that one day Thomas and Charlotte would take over if they chose to. EJ argues that they are still children. Chad tells EJ that if he wants Johnny to have 15 years seniority on them, then he’s going to need some concessions to protect his interests. Johnny then walks in and greets Chad. Johnny sits down and asks what’s up.

Claire thanks Theo for understanding why she felt she needed to help Ben. Claire adds that it was because she knew what he and Ciara had. Theo tells her that he gets it and it’s okay as he knows she didn’t want to hurt him. Theo tells her that he will be okay. Claire asks if he’s given any thought to what he wants to do next. Theo reveals he’s hopping on the first flight back to South Africa because work is a mess. Claire asks what happened. Theo says their social media expert quit yesterday, three days before the launch of their new service, so he has no idea how to find a replacement for him in time. Claire then suggests herself.

Ben tells Ciara that he and Claire kissed while they were lonely and missing Ciara but it was a mistake and he pulled away right away because he knew he could never be with anyone else. Ben tells Ciara that he’s sorry. Ciara tells him that he has nothing to be sorry for. Ben doesn’t want her to blame Claire either as she has always had their back and is on their side, being an amazing friend to both of them. Ciara acknowledges that she’s been a terrible friend to Claire. Ben understands that last she remembered was being set on fire. Ciara says she used to only remember the bad things, but now she remembers the good things like when Claire helped her find Ben after Eve kidnapped him. Ciara talks about Claire ruining her wedding to Theo and even got arrested for it for all the right reasons. Ciara decides she has to go find her and thank her for that. Ben stops her and tells her that she can’t go.

Johnny hugs Chad as they greet each other but Johnny turns down hugging EJ. Johnny tells Chad that EJ refused to help him get his career off the ground. EJ argues that it’s not a career. Johnny complains that everyone was encouraging when Will went off to Hollywood to be a screen writer. EJ reminds him that Will crashed and burned in Hollywood but says that was different because Johnny is his son. Johnny declines following in EJ’s footsteps. EJ questions where all of this anger is coming from. Johnny brings up EJ cancelling all of his credit cards without telling him in order to get leverage over him. EJ responds that Johnny was overspending. Johnny wants a chance to defend himself but says it’s too late because he was already with somebody last night when his card got declined and he was mortified. EJ suggests Johnny earn his own keep and argues that he’s offering him an opportunity that most people would only dream of. Johnny repeats that he does not want to work for him. EJ then suggests Chad mentor Johnny and asks if Chad would be thrilled to have Johnny on his team.

Tripp tells Kayla that yesterday he had no idea where Allie was until he found out she and Claire were detained at the police station for helping Ben. Tripp talks about being so worried as he saw Allie being taken to jail but she showed up at the hospital as soon as she was released and he realized she’s really important to him. Tripp declares that he thinks he’s falling in love with Allie. Kayla asks why that’s a problem. Tripp worries that he’s falling so hard so fast and that she might not be as in to him. Kayla asks if he has reason to think that. Tripp says no since Allie says she only wants him. Kayla recalls Tripp saying he thought there could be someone else but then he also said it was nothing. Tripp acknowledges that there is someone who has feelings for Allie but they are friends and it’s nothing more than that, at least not to Allie.

Allie wants to make sure that Chanel didn’t feel like she blew her off last night. Chanel tells her it’s fine. Allie knows it’s always a little weird between her, Chanel, and Tripp so she never wants her to feel like a third wheel. Chanel insists it’s all good and suggests there could be a fourth wheel now since she met somebody at Julie’s Place. Chanel says they turned out to have a lot in common which Allie asks about.

Chad responds that he’s sure that Johnny would be a huge asset at DiMera, but he thinks Johnny should be able to make his own decisions and follow his passions. Johnny thanks Chad and suggests that DiMera could make a killing by making their own media production division. Chad can tell he’s put a lot of thought in to that and mentions EJ saying Johnny had a keen business sense. EJ says that’s not at all what he had in mind but Chad thinks Johnny’s ideas are worth considering.

Kayla asks Tripp if he’s worried that this person close to Allie is going to come between them. Tripp says not really so Kayla asks what the problem is. Tripp says it just complicates things and asks if she has any advice. Kayla thinks it’s important to maintain friendships outside of a romantic relationship. Tripp assures he’s going to stay cool about this and he just hopes they can figure out a way to coexist as friends.

Chanel tells Allie that she and this guy have parental issues in common and he’s cute. Allie can’t wait to meet him. Chanel says they just had one drink and exchanged contact info. Chanel tells her about him messaging her first thing this morning. Allie takes Chanel’s phone to see the picture that she got.

Ciara reminds Ben that they have to get his ankle looked at. Ben calls it just a sprain. Ciara points out that they don’t have food. Ben reminds her that even if they wanted to leave, they can’t because the limo won’t start. Ben regrets not thinking more when Shawn left them here. Ciara states that Ben is a mechanic and she is Bo Brady’s daughter so she thinks they can get the engine going in no time. Ben agrees that they can fix anything together and they kiss. They hold hands and Ben says it’s just like old times.

Theo questions Claire wanting to come work for he and JJ in South Africa. Claire thinks everyone would agree that she’s always been a social media expert and praises Theo’s work. Claire says she’s practically an influencer and her music has been stalling recently so she’s been trying to figure out what’s next. Claire worries that she’s getting ahead of herself but tells Theo that she is interested even if he’s not. Theo asks why he wouldn’t be since she has the ability to attract an audience. Theo adds that it’s a huge plus that she would be up to speed on the job so quickly, but asks if she’s able to start right away. Claire guesses she can’t work from here. Theo confirms that she would have to go back to South Africa with him today. Claire points out that nothing is really keeping her here in Salem. Theo asks about her family. Claire says she can visit and she wants to travel the world like when she was a kid. Claire adds that she’ll have to talk to her family before she fully commits. Theo is excited and says it sounds great. Theo admits he was dreading the long flight back home all by himself. Theo says he’ll make it happen tonight and thanks Claire for being willing to do this. Claire thanks him for letting her. Theo says he’s going to say goodbye to his family so she can let him know ASAP. Theo adds that he’s really glad they are still friends. Claire feels the same as Theo exits the Pub.

Tripp tells Kayla that he wants to tell Allie how he feels but he doesn’t want to feel like he’s staking his claim. Tripp asks if he should just wait. Kayla advises him to follow his instincts and she thinks he will know when the time is right. Kayla tells Tripp that love is always a risk, but if he doesn’t put his heart out there then he’ll never know.

Allie wants to see the picture but Chanel says it’s gone now. Allie asks to at least let her know his name as maybe she knows him..

EJ repeats that they don’t have money to spend on frivolous things so the answer again is no. Johnny argues that EJ is just pissed that Sami cheated on him, so he’s taking it out on him. EJ denies that. Johnny declares that it doesn’t matter as he’ll find somebody else to support his dreams, or he’ll just do it himself to pursue his passion. EJ mocks that this is Johnny’s 300th passion. Johnny yells at him not to belittle his talents and drive. Johnny declares that he’s going to make it and he will never work for DiMera. Johnny thanks Chad for treating him with some respect as he then walks out of the room. EJ questions Chad encouraging Johnny. Chad reminds EJ that they hadn’t come to terms on what’s in it for him. EJ questions his family loyalty. Chad reminds EJ that just weeks ago, he solicited his support to oust Jake and then tried to screw him over by inserting himself as sole CEO. EJ calls that a misunderstanding that they worked through. Chad says they did but warns him not to try it again. EJ states that he has work to do, so he will see him at the office. EJ then exits the room.

Tripp tells Kayla that he has two options; tell Allie that he loves her or don’t. Kayla says she’s sorry as she knows how hard this is, but if he does tell Allie then she hopes it goes his way. Tripp thanks her and says he hopes next time he comes to her for advice on someone’s heart, it’s not his.

Chanel asks Allie what makes her thinks the knows this guy. Allie reminds her that she’s a Horton and a Brady, so if she doesn’t know him then someone in her family probably does. Chanel gets a text from her mom, reminding her that she has to go to the bank to sign papers for the bakery. Chanel says she’ll see her later and walks away. Allie calls out to her that she never even told her the guy’s name. Johnny then comes up and surprises Allie. Allie gets up and excitedly hugs him.

Theo goes to the DiMera Mansion and greets Chad. Chad tells him that he’s sorry he couldn’t make it to the wedding and asks how it was. Theo informs him that he didn’t miss much as it turns out that he’s heading back to South Africa alone because Ciara and Ben are back together. Chad tells him that he’s so sorry. Theo asks for a game of chess before he goes. Chad jokes that he won’t let him win this time as they sit down to play.

Claire goes home and calls out for her parents but instead finds Ciara waiting inside.

Ben returns home to his room on crutches. He looks at he and Ciara’s wedding photo with a smile, then reaches into his drawer for their wedding rings.

Abe goes to Eli and Lani’s apartment where Eli answers the door. Abe says he’s sorry for not calling first and just dropping by. Eli assures that he’s always welcome here. Eli asks how Theo is. Abe states that Theo is upset but he’s tough so he’ll be okay. Abe adds that Theo knew Ciara might remember being in love with Ben, so it’s not like he was blindsided. Eli asks where Theo is now. Abe says he turned in early but he knew Lani would be worried so he came to update her and asks where she is. Eli informs Abe that Lani went to go see Pauliina.

Lani tells Paulina that she’s willing to let go of the past and start fresh, but they need a clean slate with no more secrets and lies. Lani asks if Paulina can promise her that. Olivia assures that Lani can count on her aunt Paulina to be honest with her. Olivia is sure Lani is anxious to get back to her babies. Paulina says she can speak for herself and it’s time that she did. Paulina informs Lani that she has something she needs to tell her so Lani asks what it is and tells her to go on and say it.

Marlena comes home as John is finishing a call with Belle. Marlena tells John that she’s so glad to be home. John hugs her and kisses her and says he’s sorry she had to work so late. Marlena asks what Belle had to say. John informs her that the good news is that Allie and Claire were released from police custody with all charges dropped as Ciara has been found and she regained her memory as well as reunited with Ben which makes Marlena happy. Marlena asks about the bad news. John reveals that according to Belle, Sami’s marriage is over.

EJ has a drink in the living room until he’s startled by the entrance of the DiMera Tunnels suddenly opening. EJ turns around and is surprised to see he and Sami’s son Johnny, now in his mid-20s, emerge from the tunnels. EJ hugs him and calls it a wonderful surprise but asks what he’s doing here and why he’s coming out of the wall. Johnny says the door was locked so he figured he’d use the tunnels which was his favorite part of the house. EJ asks what he’s doing in Salem. Johnny asks if a son needs a reason to visit his parents. Johnny adds that he was hoping to surprise Sami and asks if she’s around.

Marlena questions EJ and Sami breaking up and says that Sami must be devastated, especially after she fought so hard to hold that family together. Marlena asks what happened. John reminds Marlena of how she felt there may have been something more going on between Sami and Lucas. John confirms that they apparently got together briefly and then EJ found out and was furious, so that was the end of that. Marlena asks if Belle told him that. John explains that Belle had a business meeting with EJ, who couldn’t stop talking about Sami’s infidelity. John asks what Marlena thinks. Marlena thinks they have been through so much and they always manage to find their way back together. John states that this time could be a bit different since EJ threw Sami out of the mansion and they have no idea where she could be. Marlena wonders why they haven’t heard from Sami and suggests she could be with Allie, now that she’s released and no longer in prison.

Allie finds Tripp at the hospital. Tripp hugs her and asks when she got released as he was just about to head to the police station. Allie says it was just a while ago and he’s her first stop. Tripp says he was going nuts thinking about her in jail but now she’s here. Tripp and Allie kiss as Chanel arrives at the hospital and sees them. Chanel comes over and greets them, joking that she’s always interrupting them. Allie says it’s fine and hugs her, saying she’s glad to see her. Chanel mentions hearing that Allie got released so she wanted to make sure she was okay. Allie thanks them both for coming to the police station earlier. Chanel says they couldn’t do anything then but suggests now the three of them have dinner to celebrate Allie being free. Chanel adds that Allie can then sign the documents for the bakery. Allie wishes she could but she has to go to Marlena’s as she’s worried about Sami and could use her help. Allie asks Tripp to come with her which he agrees to. Allie tells Chanel that she’s sorry. Chanel tells her to do what she has to do. Allie offers to sign the documents now so Chanel hands them to her. Allie signs them and hands them back to Chanel. Allie tells Chanel that she will talk to her tomorrow as she and Tripp then exit together.

Marlena can’t believe Sami and Lucas as she doesn’t understand Sami doing anything to put her marriage to EJ in jeopardy. John thinks Sami really regrets it and mentions that EJ told Belle that Sami refused to give up after he kicked her out of the mansion, so she was going to see Gabi to ask permission to stay in the house.

Johnny questions EJ about Sami cheating on him. EJ confirms that she did with Lucas, so he threw her out. Johnny tells EJ that he’s sorry for both of them. EJ says he’s sorry for him too as he knows it can’t be easy to hear. Johnny argues that EJ and Sami have one of those love for the ages thing, so he asks why Sami isn’t here banging down the door and making a scene to remind him of that. Johnny asks where Sami is and if she’s at Marlena’s. EJ responds that she could be there, or with Lucas, or on the moon for all he knows. Johnny questions him really having no idea. EJ assures that he doesn’t give a damn. Johnny calls that harsh. EJ apologizes since Sami is his mother, so he won’t speak of her. EJ suggests they celebrate Johnny’s return and offers him a drink. EJ asks what Johnny has been up to. Johnny responds that he’s actually looking for investors for his movie and he’s giving EJ first crack at it.

Eli finishes putting the babies to sleep and goes back to Abe. Abe can’t believe Lani went to see Paulina since last they spoke, she was done with her. Abe asks what changed. Eli explains that they talked and Lani realized that she needed to forgive Paulina for her own sake as much as anything else. Abe feels that Eli guided her to that conclusion. Eli says he might have helped a little bit but Lani would’ve got there on her own, since as mad as she was at Paulina, Paulina is family and that’s something you can’t replace.

Paulina starts to tell Lani what she needs to tell her but Olivia interrupts and asks Lani to get her some more tea and something to eat so Lani heads to the kitchen. Olivia warns Paulina that if she thinks she’s going to tell Lani that she’s her mother, she’s got another thing coming.

Allie and Tripp go to John and Marlena’s. They hug Allie, telling her that they are so glad to see her and relieved. Allie says the hardest part was being away from Henry. Marlena offers them food or a drink but Allie says she was hoping Sami would be there. Marlena responds that she’s not. Allie brings up the situation between Sami and EJ and she has been unable to get a hold of Sami. Marlena informs them that they know about the situation from Belle. Allie says he was just with Lucas and he hasn’t seen Sami, while EJ doesn’t know where she is either.

EJ questions Johnny looking for investors for a movie. EJ didn’t know he was interested in filmmaking. Johnny talks about hitting up art theaters the last couple of years and seeing film revivals of the classics. Johnny says he was really inspired by what he saw, so he made a couple of short films on his phone and he thinks he might be really good at it. Johnny is sure he has a long way to go, but he feels like he’s meant to do this, so he asks if EJ wants to invest in his son’s future. EJ suggests Johnny come work for him instead.

Abe is glad that Eli was able to get through to Lani, as he tried more than once but she wasn’t having it. Eli jokes about how Lani can be stubborn. Abe understands how hurt Lani was by Paulina and says they all were, but Paulina has apologized repeatedly and even helped them find Ciara, so she’s obviously trying to make amends. Eli comments that it sounds like he’s pretty close to forgiving Paulina himself.

Paulina tells Olivia that she heard that Lani said she was willing to forgive her if she is honest with her, so she has to tell her the truth. Olivia disagrees and argues that Paulina is only doing this for herself because it might make her feel better to let Lani know that she’s her mother, but Lani would be losing the only mother she’s ever known. Lani comes back with Olivia’s tea, so she thanks her. Lani then asks Paulina what she needed to tell her.

Chanel stands alone in the town square and thinks back to kissing Allie on the 4th of July. Chanel asks what is wrong with her and tells herself to get over it already.

Marlena questions Allie saying that Sami never came back from Gabi’s. Allie adds that she went to Gabi, who said she never even saw Sami. Tripp asks if Sami could have taken off to cool down. Marlena and Allie insist that Sami never gives up. Allie wonders if Sami may have gotten in an accident. Marlena says they would’ve heard it about it by now. John suggests maybe EJ wasn’t telling the truth. Allie asks what he means. John explains that Belle said EJ was furious and he has never been one to let people cross him and get away with it. Allie asks what he’s saying and if he thinks EJ could’ve hurt Sami.

Johnny questions EJ wanting him to work for him. EJ says the company is his legacy and they could turn DiMera into a true family business again. EJ tells him how proud Stefano would be to have them back where they belong. EJ talks about how Stefano loved him. Johnny argues that he’s not going to suit up and punch a clock every day. Johnny gets how DiMera is so important to him and how passionate he is, but that’s how he feels about making movies. EJ calls it fooling around on his phone. Johnny argues that legitimate directors make movies on their phones. EJ doesn’t know how legit they are if he hasn’t heard of them. EJ asks if they are just people he met while bumming around in Europe. EJ declares that there is no way in hell that his son is going to waste his time on something so frivolous. Johnny shouts that the movie is important to him but he doesn’t expect EJ to care because he never has cared about what he wanted or needed. Johnny complains that it’s all about EJ’s ego, turning him in to someone to defer to him to make him feel powerful. Johnny says to hell with that and declares he doesn’t need EJ’s money, so he’ll just ask Sami. EJ wishes him luck finding her as Johnny storms out.

Abe tells Eli that as hurt and angry as he was at Paulina, he’s seen her kindness and generosity and now that he knows more about her history, he understands why she acted the way she has. Eli asks if he’s ready to forgive her. Abe admits he’d like nothing more than to repair his relationship with Paulina, but he’s reluctant because of how angry Lani is. Eli says that with any luck, Lani is on her way to forgiving Paulina right now, so then Abe and Paulina can reconcile.

Paulina claims to Lani that she just wanted to promise to her that she will never lie to her again. Lani tells Paulina that she forgives her and agrees to start over as they hug. Paulina insists that Lani won’t be sorry because she’s learned her lesson and she will never stop trying to make up for all the times she let her down. Lani says all she has to do is be honest with her. Paulina says she will get exactly that from this moment forward. Olivia remarks that there’s no need to be so dramatic. Lani tells Paulina that Abe told her why money and being in control is so important to her. Paulina is surprised that Abe told her about Ray. Paulina admits being trapped in an abusive relationship for so long forced her to make some difficult choices. Olivia interrupts and says that’s all in the past while what matters now is that they have found the love again. Olivia adds that after her trip, she needs to rest. Lani hugs her and says she loves her. Lani can’t wait for Olivia to meet Eli and their babies. Lani asks how long she’s staying. Olivia jokes that it depends on how long she has to keep her eye on Paulina.

Marlena is sure that if EJ knows where Sami is, John will find out. Marlena is also sure that Sami knows they are concerned about her. Allie just hopes she is okay. Marlena says that Sami has a way of taking care of herself, so she has to assume that she just prefers to be alone right now to sort out what has happened. Henry wakes up crying so Marlena decides to take him to the bedroom. Tripp tells Allie that he agrees that it’s too soon to worry about Sami. Allie points out that Sami didn’t even come to the police station when she got arrested and it’s so not like her to just disappear like this. Tripp admits that he doesn’t know Sami as well but he thinks that Sami might just need time by herself to recharge. Allie guesses she will just have to believe that Sami could call, text, or show up at any moment. Tripp encourages her to stay positive. Tripp suggests they go get dinner for takeout and go home with Henry. Allie stops and asks if he thinks they should’ve gotten dinner with Chanel. Tripp thinks she understood why they couldn’t. Allie doesn’t want Chanel to think that she was blowing her off because she looked sad. Tripp is sure that Chanel was disappointed and that she’s probably still not over her feelings for her. Allie says it makes things weird for her because she’s afraid of saying or doing something that gives Chanel the wrong idea about thinking there’s something between them. Allie wishes it was like the old days where she and Chanel just had fun and good times. Tripp encourages that they will get there again and that maybe Chanel will meet somebody new to get over her.

Johnny goes to Julie’s Place for a drink and meets Chanel at the bar. They both comment on having a bad day as Johnny sits with her. Chanel asks what happened to Johnny. Johnny says it was a fight with his dad over money. Chanel relates to that with her mom. Johnny says it sounds like they have something in common.

John goes to the DiMera Mansion to confront EJ about Sami. EJ is not in the mood to discuss Sami. John says he’s well aware of the situation after Belle told him, so he can only assume what EJ is going through, but right now he and Marlena are very concerned about Sami because they haven’t heard a word from her since this whole thing went down. EJ tells him that last he knew, Sami went to go see Gabi to ask permission to stay in the house. John informs him that Allie talked to Gabi and Sami never showed up. EJ guesses that Sami changed her mind and realized that staying here in these circumstances would be extremely awkward or unbearable. John wonders why she wouldn’t come see him and Marlena or Allie instead of going AWOL, because it’s not like Sami to give up without a fight. EJ suggests she knew it was a losing battle. John can understand why Sami wouldn’t contact EJ but not them. John asks EJ if he’s sure that he doesn’t have any idea where Sami could be right now. EJ questions what John is insinuating. John says he’s not insinuating anything but they were upset and tempers get hot. EJ asks if he thinks that he killed her and buried her in the tunnels. John argues that he’s just trying to figure out where the hell Sami is. EJ thinks that John is accusing him of withholding information or suggesting that he did something terrible to her, but that’s not the case. EJ explains that Sami cheated on him, so he told her to get out and that their marriage was over which was the last he saw of her and the last he hopes to see of her again. EJ tells John to take his concerns and accusations and get the hell out. John then exits the mansion. EJ finishes his drink and then throws the glass, smashing it.

Johnny asks Chanel about her bad day. Chanel doesn’t want to talk about it. Johnny comments that she looks like she just lost her best friend. Chanel says not exactly but she had a relationship end before it really started. Johnny says that’s terrible but asks if that means she’s single. Chanel jokes about him cutting right to the chase. Johnny asks why waste time with a beautiful girl next to him. Johnny offers to buy her a drink which she accepts.

Lani goes home and hugs Abe as she asks how Theo is. Abe admits he’s struggling and will be for awhile, but he knows he has his family. Abe asks Lani how things went with Paulina. Lani reveals that her grandmother, Olivia, is in town. Eli is surprised as he thought she wasn’t well enough to travel. Lani responds that she’s apparently doing much better.

Paulina asks if Olivia is satisfied. Olivia says she is with Paulina keeping her mouth shut. Olivia asks if Paulina is going to sit and sulk all night. Paulina complains about looking in her daughter’s eyes with her not knowing that she’s her mother. Paulina wanted so badly to tell her after all these years of suffering and longing, but she feels like she let her down. Olivia encourages that she’s doing the right thing because if she told the truth, Lani would not only be losing her mother, but losing her father too.

Eli asks Lani how it went with Paulina. Lani confirms that she took his advice and forgave her for everything so they can start fresh with a clean slate and no more lies or secrets, which she promised. Abe knows that wasn’t easy but he’s very proud of her. Lani praises Eli and Abe, adding that they know how much family means to her which she wants to show to her babies by setting the example. Abe tells Lani that he loves her as they hug.

Olivia asks Paulina how she thinks Lani would feel if she finds out that Abe is not her father. Paulina imagines that she wouldn’t be too pleased with her. Olivia adds that Abe wouldn’t be either. Olivia tells Paulina that she loves her, but it’s best to let sleeping dogs lie.

Marlena comes back from putting Henry to sleep which Allie thanks her for. John returns so they ask if he talked to EJ or if he knows where Sami is. John informs them that EJ is sticking to his story that last he saw Sami, she was heading to Gabi’s, and EJ wasn’t too happy when he suggested he was lying. Tripp asks if John believes him. John says it’s tough to tell with EJ. Allie says that still doesn’t explain why Sami hasn’t texted or called. Allie and Marlena then both get a text from Sami, saying she’s sure everyone knows what’s happened between her and EJ and she appreciates their concerns but she’s not up to answering calls or texts. It reads that she wants to fight for her marriage but knows it would just make things worse, so the best thing would be to be alone to figure things out. The message finishes saying that if they don’t hear from her for awhile, she loves them. John guesses that settles it. Marlena remarks that at least they know she’s safe…

EJ looks to the portrait of Stefano and asks what they are going to do about Johnny.

Johnny’s credit card is declined which he calls embarrassing. Chanel tells him that at least they didn’t cut up his card like her mom did. Johnny complains about his dad cutting him off. Chanel tells him it’s all good as she’s got this. Johnny doesn’t want to let her do that but Chanel says he doesn’t have much choice. Johnny thanks her and asks if he can at least have her name, so he knows who he is in debt to. Chanel tells him her name, so he says it’s nice to meet her. Johnny puts his number in Chanel’s phone as they continue their drinks.

Gabi goes home while on the phone with Jake, encouraging that he will win Philip over. Gabi adds that once they are in at Titan, they will push Philip out and take over the whole company. Gabi wishes Jake luck in his interview and says she’ll see him at home to celebrate. Gabi hangs up and then drops her purse. When she reaches down to get it, she finds Sami’s necklace which she had dropped when she got kidnapped.

At the DiMera Mansion, EJ lights Kristen’s letter on fire and tosses it in to the fireplace. EJ looks at the portrait of Stefano and declares that unlike the Phoenix, his marriage to Sami will not be rising from the ashes.

Nicole sits in bed crying. She removes her wedding ring and says goodbye Eric as she has to find a way to let him go, even if it kills her. Rafe then enters Nicole’s room.

Eli tells Lani that he’s sorry as he knows how hurtful that can be. Lani says she’s tried to figure out who Paulina is, but she just can’t as she does not know who she really is. Eli points out that she is still her aunt. Lani says there is just something about the way Paulina acts around her that never quite added up. Lani doesn’t know what it is but declares that she’s done trying to figure it out.

Paulina complains about her mother Olivia coming to town to talk her in to leaving but it won’t be that easy as she has some things to say too. Olivia responds that they wouldn’t have anything to talk about if Paulina just kept her promise. Paulina wishes she never made that promise. Olivia reminds Paulina that she promised her sister that she would stay away from her daughter. Paulina then reveals that they both know Lani is not really Tamara’s daughter, but Paulina’s daughter! Olivia tells her to take that back now but Paulina says it’s the truth. Paulina adds that Lani may have grown up thinking she was just her aunt, but she is her mother.

Lani calls Theo and tells him to hang in there and that she and Eli love him very much. Lani encourages that he will get through this and she will see him soon as she hangs up. Eli asks how Theo is doing. Lani says he’s really well considering as he’s not angry or bitter. Eli suggests Lani follow his example. Lani questions Eli thinking she should forgive Paulina. Eli thinks it’s time. Lani brings up everything Paulina put her through and what she did to her family. Lani questions why Paulina deserves forgiveness. Eli encourages Lani to do it for herself, not Paulina.

Paulina questions Olivia pretending she doesn’t remember her giving birth to Lani. Olivia assures that she remembers it very well. Paulina says she loved her as soon as she was born but then she had to give her up to her sister. Olivia points out that they didn’t have a choice. Olivia says she’ll never know what Paulina saw in that horrible man. Paulina responds that Ray wasn’t always horrible but Olivia insists that he was just hiding it and then when he showed his true colors, she hid it too by denying his abuse. Olivia said she saw her bruises and heard her crying. Paulina recalls being ashamed as Ray got more violent and admits she was afraid he was going to kill her. Olivia is glad she finally came to her and Tamara about it so they could do something. Paulina knew if she let Ray know about the pregnancy, he would never let her go. Paulina talks about Olivia knowing what to do and how she’ll never forget the moment she told her that she had to give the baby to Tamara. Olivia says she knew Lani would be safe with her. Paulina notes that Tamara agreed to raise Lani as her own and she knows it wasn’t easy. Olivia says they all made sacrifices and that Paulina promised to never tell Lani and to keep her distance. Paulina swears that she tried but she missed her every day and not being in her life was killing her. Olivia asks if that’s why she planned to take her to Paris. Paulina admits that she just wanted to spend alone time with her daughter. Olivia mentions that she couldn’t let her take her. Paulina talks about Lani being so excited for the trip and she had to just stand her up with no excuse. Paulina says that image has never left her of Lani thinking she abandoned her.

Eli tells Lani that he cares about her, not Paulina or her feelings, and he can see that this is tearing Lani apart so he thinks she would be happier if she found a way to make peace. Lani says it’s not like she wants to be mad at her. Lani guesses she can try to forgive her but she needs some questions answered. Lani wonders why Paulina has been so hot and cold for her entire life. Eli suggests she just ask her. Lani says he makes it sound so easy. Eli urges her to demand answers. Lani asks what if she doesn’t like the answers she gives. Eli says at least she will be able to move on.

Chad arrives at the DiMera Mansion and informs EJ that he and Kate just got back from New York with the new DiMera contracts signed, sealed, and delivered. Chad asks EJ if he wants to have dinner to celebrate but EJ says maybe another time. Chad asks if EJ has plans with Sami and jokes that she can come too. EJ then informs Chad that the backstabbing bitch is gone and she isn’t coming back.

Gabi goes in to her house and asks Ava if the necklace is hers but Ava says it’s not. Gabi jokes that it could belong to Rafe’s secret girlfriend.

Rafe tells Nicole that he knows three’s a crowd but he brought a friend as he gives her Duke the teddy bear. Nicole thanks him and says it’s exactly what she needed today. Rafe mentions going to her office to find her but he found Duke under the desk. Rafe brings up Nicole calling in sick. Nicole didn’t think she could face the day today. Rafe tells her that Holly let him in while reading a book. Nicole cries that she’s trying so hard to keep it together in front of Holly, but she knows her mom is sad. Rafe tells her it’s okay to be sad. Nicole doesn’t want Holly to worry about her as she wants to be there for her. Nicole asks how a mother can hide from her kid that she is so heartbroken. Rafe hugs Nicole as she breaks down crying.

Lucas visits Allie in the interrogation room at the police station. Allie is shocked to learn that Lucas and Sami slept together recently. Allie questions how EJ found out. Lucas explains that Kristen figured it out and wrote EJ a letter. Lucas adds that Sami tried to burn the letter, but he took it out of the fireplace and threw it away. Allie asks why. Lucas calls it a long story but explains that Philip thought he was doing him a favor by making EJ see the letter, so he took the letter out and gave it to Nicole because Nicole wanted to pay Sami back for exposing her one night stand with Xander and then Nicole gave the letter to EJ. Allie questions getting all of that and says she kind of got it but she’s still confused as to why Philip would think he’s doing Lucas a favor by wrecking Sami and EJ’s marriage. Lucas claims not to know and guesses that Philip thought if EJ saw the letter, he would dump Sami and she’d be on the market again. Allie asks if he’s saying he wants to get back with her. Lucas responds that he’s not saying anything but Sami blames him for EJ reading the letter and that’s it. Lucas declares that Sami wants to rebuild her marriage so it doesn’t matter how he feels. Lucas then gets a text from Belle so Allie asks how the district attorney meeting went. Lucas reads the charges are dropped and that Allie is free to go. Allie is excited and hugs Lucas, mentioning that she has to pick up Henry from Roman. Allie tells Lucas that she’s sorry about him and Sami as she exits the room.

EJ informs Chad of Sami sleeping with Lucas. Chad is surprised as he thought they were over years ago. EJ says apparently not. Chad tells EJ that he’s sorry and he knows he’s angry. Chad suggests when EJ cools down, maybe he can find it in his heart to forgive Sami. EJ asks if he means the way he’s hoping Abigail will forgive him. Chad says that has nothing to do with this. EJ points out that Chad did cheat on his wife, so Chad retorts that EJ’s wife cheated on him. Chad says he’s not making an excuse for either of them betraying their vows, but he thinks both of their marriages are worth fighting for. EJ is not sure that Sami would agree. EJ tells him that before she left, she insisted that she was going to ask Gabi to let her stay in the house and swore that she wouldn’t let him push her away, but then she never came back. Chad asks if he thinks she just changed her mind and gave up, pointing out that it doesn’t sound like Sami. EJ suggests maybe she went crawling back to Lucas. EJ declares that he doesn’t know and doesn’t care but Chad says they both know that’s not true. EJ apologizes to Chad for taking this out on him. Chad says it’s fine as he can take it. EJ knows about Chad and Gwen and the circumstances of his infidelity. Chad asks if he doesn’t think there was any with Sami. EJ responds that as far as he knows, all it took was Lucas offering he a shoulder to cry on.

Ava knows Gabi is trying to get under her skin but assures that Rafe doesn’t have a secret girlfriend and that she has his full attention. Gabi says as long as she’s secure in her relationship. Ava says that she is and asks if they are done here. Gabi says she’s just trying to figure out how the necklace ended up outside of their house. Ava suggests it could belong to Jake’s secret girlfriend since he’s more likely to have another woman. Gabi argues that Jake doesn’t want a sleazy side piece. Ava remarks that he already has the sleazy main dish but maybe he’s tired of slumming. Gabi questions Ava talking to her about class. Ava comments that the necklace looks like it could belong to Kate and asks what if Jake is sneaking around with Kate behind Gabi’s back like he and Gabi did behind Kate’s. Gabi assures that Jake is done with the old folks home and that they are solid. Gabi tells Ava that she can deflect all she wants but she’s pretty sure the necklace belongs to someone that Rafe is really in to, like Nicole.

Rafe holds Nicole as she cries. Nicole apologizes and says she’s sure there is something else he would rather be doing. Rafe assures that he’s right where he wants to be.

Olivia argues that Paulina went behind Tamara’s back to plan the Paris trip and that Tamara was furious when she found out. Paulina mentions that Tamara called Olivia up to force her to cancel the trip. Olivia blames Paulina for breaking their deal while Paulina complains that she wouldn’t even let her explain. Olivia says she understood that she missed her daughter, but she could only have one mom. Olivia states that Tamara was Lani’s mother in every way that counted but Paulina kept trying to make it about her despite their agreement and says she is still doing it. Paulina asks if she thinks she never should’ve come to Salem. Olivia argues that Paulina could’ve visited for the Christening and then moved on. Paulina argues that she wanted to be around the babies because they are her grandchildren. Olivia says she feels for her, but she has to think about Lani. Paulina says Lani is all she thinks about. Olivia asks what she thinks it will do to Lani to find out the truth, that her whole life was a lie. Lani then arrives knocking on the door and calling for Paulina, saying she wants to talk. Olivia tells Paulina not to answer so Lani will go away and think she’s sleeping. Paulina questions leaving her daughter hanging just like she did years ago. Olivia argues that it’s not the same. Paulina declares that she’s sorry but she can’t do that. Olivia asks her to think about it before opening the door. Paulina answers the door to see Lani. Lani is then surprised to see her grandma Olivia inside. Lani hugs her, asking what she’s doing in Salem.

Ava tells Gabi that Rafe and Nicole are just friends. Gabi asks if she’s sure about that since Rafe has always had a soft spot for Nicole. Ava says Rafe is a good person. Gabi feels like Nicole was the one that got away since she was married to Eric while Rafe was with Hope. Gabi remarks that she always thought if Nicole was single like she is now, they would find their way to each other.

Nicole talks to Rafe about trying to stuff the pain down and keeping herself involved in other people’s business which is why she went so hard at Sami. Nicole says now that it’s done, she feels the full weight of losing Eric crashing down on her. Rafe guesses she’s finally accepting that it’s over. Nicole says she pretended for so long that she could make it work but she can’t keep fooling herself as they are too different and want different things. Nicole cries that accepting it isn’t easy because when she thought about her future, she and Eric were together watching Holly grow but now he’s gone and she has a whole life to live without him. Nicole doesn’t know what’s next. Rafe encourages that she will figure it out. Rafe adds that Nicole is not alone because he’s here to help with whatever she needs.

Chad questions EJ saying that Sami told him she wasn’t giving up on their marriage and then just disappeared. Chad asks if he doesn’t think it’s strange that Sami would go down without a fight. EJ says he’s tired of trying to work Sami out. EJ declares that he’s through with her and that subject is closed just like that. EJ says he learned from Stefano how to focus on what’s in front of you. Chad argues that Stefano was obsessed with Sami’s mother for decades. EJ points out that he never let the business falter which is why he’s turning his full attention to his role as CEO of DiMera. Chad reminds him that’s co-CEO and adds that he’s been thinking of their next move. Chad suggests they discuss it over dinner. EJ says he looks forward to it as Chad exits the room. EJ turns to Stefano’s portrait and says that Stefano was right about Sami. EJ declares that in love and in business, sometimes you have to cut your losses even if it means cutting some throats. Allie then walks in with Henry. EJ says he didn’t hear her come in. Allie points out that he was talking to the picture of his dad. EJ admits he does that sometimes. EJ notes that Henry is fast asleep and makes sure that Allie didn’t hear what he was saying. Allie gets that EJ misses Stefano. EJ says he’s very glad to see her as he heard she was in custody. Allie explains that Ciara was found so Belle was able to get the charges dropped which EJ is happy to hear. EJ adds that Ben and Ciara are finally going to get their happily ever after. Allie says that’s true but it sounds like EJ and Sami might not.

Gabi puts on the necklace she found which Ava questions. Gabi remarks that the old Ava would wipe another woman off the face of the earth. Ava insists that Nicole is her friend and just got her heart broken by Eric, so she’s not interested in Rafe or any other man. Gabi says she was almost convinced but she doesn’t think even Ava believes that. Gabi then walks out of the room.

Rafe knows Nicole feels like she’s drowning right now but he calls her the strongest woman he knows. Rafe praises her as a mother, friend, and business woman which has nothing to do with Eric or any man who would be lucky enough to be by her side. Nicole thanks him. Rafe says he’s just saying it because it’s true. Rafe calls her a force of nature and he knows she’s at a low point right now but she can only go up from here. Rafe says it starts with the first step which Nicole agrees with. Nicole gets out of bed so Rafe points out that she already has both feet back on the ground. Nicole decides she will go brush her teeth and jokes that she might even wash her face. Rafe encourages that she’s no longer at rock bottom as Nicole goes to the bathroom. Rafe comments that he told Duke they could put a smile on her face. Rafe then gets a call from Ava, who tells him about cooking dinner and asks if he will be home soon. Rafe says not for awhile so Ava offers to bring a plate to the police station. Rafe reveals that he’s actually at Nicole’s.

Lani tells Olivia that it’s so good to see her. Lani thought she wasn’t well enough to travel and asks why she came now. Olivia says she’s feeling better and she had to come see Paulina to get a couple of things straight. Paulina asks if Lani came to talk about Theo and if he got Ciara back. Lani informs her that they did find Ciara but they won’t be getting married as Ciara went back to Ben. Lani adds that Theo is pretty upset but he will be okay. Paulina says she’s sorry but she’s glad Ciara is safe. Paulina asks what Lani came to talk about. Lani declares that she came to offer her forgiveness for everything, which Olivia calls very gracious of her. Lani says that Eli helped her see that she needs to let it all go because holding onto the anger is not good for her or her babies. Paulina acknowledges that she disappointed her and that it’s not the first time. Lani remarks that Paulina has been disappointing her for her whole life. Paulina apologizes and says she’ll never stop being sorry for that or trying to make it up to her. Paulina declares that she will do whatever it takes. Lani tells her that she just wants one thing from her. Lani asks Paulina to promise to never lie to her ever again about anything.

Allie informs EJ that Lucas told her everything and she’s sorry. Allie asks if he’s sure it’s over. EJ confirms there is no coming back from this. Allie acknowledges how selfish Sami can be but also how much she loves EJ. Allie brings up how Sami went all over the world looking for him when everyone else thought he was dead. EJ says he’s grateful for that and always will be, but things have changed since then. Allie adds that Lucas said Sami is going to fight for their marriage and if there’s one thing Sami does, it’s fight. Allie knows Sami screwed up but asks if EJ is sure he can’t give her another chance. EJ says even if he was open to it, Sami’s not around and he has no idea where she went. EJ tells her that the last time he saw her, she was vowing to do whatever it took to change his mind and she was on her way to ask Gabi if she could stay in the house but then she never came back. Allie argues that it doesn’t make sense. EJ asks when anything Sami does makes sense.

Ava asks Rafe what he’s doing at Nicole’s. Rafe explains that she’s having a hard time with her split from Eric and he stopped by her office on the way home and found out she called in sick. Ava asks if Rafe went to check on her. Rafe states that she really needs a friend right now. Ava offers to come over since she’s her friend too. Ava suggests she bring dinner but Rafe doesn’t think Nicole wants anyone making a fuss. Rafe says he’s got this and asks Ava to save him some leftovers for when he gets home. Rafe adds that he’s sorry she went through all the trouble. Ava tells Rafe that she will see him when he gets home so Rafe hangs up. Ava then takes her dinner that she made and dumps it in the trash can. Gabi comes back in and asks Ava if Rafe had other plans. Gabi remarks that she’s sure it was fun for a little while but she can’t be too surprised that a guy like Rafe has already lost his taste for Ava. Gabi declares that it’s only a matter of time before Nicole has Rafe eating out of her hand.

Rafe tells Nicole that she needs to eat. Nicole says she’s not hungry. Rafe encourages her to try his world famous mac and cheese. Nicole says maybe later. Rafe adds that Holly helped make it and jokes about her not eating the mac and cheese that her daughter made especially for her. Nicole then gives in and eats, admitting that it’s actually pretty good. Nicole gives Rafe a bite and he agrees that it’s amazing. Rafe then takes the bowl and they joke over him not giving it back.

Allie goes to see Gabi and asks if she has seen Sami. Gabi tells her that she hasn’t and that she didn’t come over to talk to her about staying at the DiMera Mansion which Allie finds strange. Gabi asks if she’s asked EJ. Allie tells her that EJ has no idea where she is.

EJ has a drink in the living room until he’s startled by the entrance of the DiMera Tunnels suddenly opening.

Lani tells Paulina that she’s willing to let go of the past and start fresh, but they need a clean slate with no more secrets and lies. Lani asks if Paulina can promise her that. Olivia assures that Lani can count on her aunt Paulina to be honest with her. Olivia is sure Lani is anxious to get back to her babies. Paulina says she can speak for herself and it’s time that she did. Paulina informs Lani that she has something she needs to tell her.

Jack tells Gwen that after everything she’s done to he and his family, she owes him the truth. Gwen starts to tell him but Xander interrupts and says Jack has it all backwards. Xander declares that he wasn’t helping Gwen out of a jam, but she was helping him. Jack says now he really doesn’t know what’s going on. Gwen admits she doesn’t know either and tries to continue her explanation but Xander claims that Dr. Snyder was his business partner and he figured out a way to make drugs from the hospital, while he handled distribution. Xander tells Jack that the one who was dealing was him, not Gwen.

Ciara and Ben lay in bed in the cabin, telling each other that they love one another until Shawn and Theo burst in. Ciara gets up and tells Shawn that she’s fine. Theo tells her that he was going crazy worrying about her as he hugs her.

Lani tells Abe that they don’t even know if the tip Paulina got was legit since people will say anything to get that reward money so Shawn and Theo could be on a wild goose chase. Eli arrives at the Pub and reveals that it was not. Eli informs Lani that Shawn just radioed in and stated that he and Theo are at the cabin in the woods where they found the limo that Ben took Ciara in. Lani says that’s great. Eli guesses that they are probably rescuing Ciara now. Abe points out that it’s thanks to Paulina.

Paulina looks at a photo of her and Lani and says that maybe someday Lani will forgive her. There’s a knock at the door so Paulina hopes it’s Lani. Paulina answers the door and asks what the hell they are doing there as she is surprised by her mother, who questions that being how Paulina greets her.

Theo asks Ciara if she’s alright and mentions being worried that Ben hurt her. Ciara assures that she is fine. Shawn sees he gets no cell service here so he goes to go radio in. Theo questions what the hell is wrong with Ben, kidnapping Ciara on her wedding day. Ben responds that he had to make her remember him. Theo argues that you can’t make someone remember just because you want them to. Theo says that Ciara doesn’t remember him and can’t even figure out why she was ever with him. Ciara explains to Theo that Ben did take her against her will and she was furious, but she didn’t come home because Ben fell and hurt his ankle. Ciara acknowledges the cabin as where Ben took her after her motorcycle accident and where they got to know each other. Ciara then reveals to Theo that being here brought her memory back. Ciara confirms that she remembers how much she loves Ben.

Lani is glad that the tip was right and that Ciara is safe, but argues that they would’ve tracked her down without Paulina butting in and throwing her money around. Lani complains that Paulina is trying to buy their forgiveness, otherwise she wouldn’t have lifted a finger to help Ciara. Abe thinks Paulina was genuinely trying to help Theo and points out that she saved the police some time which he is grateful for. Lani complains that Paulina wins again and says this is what she does. Lani asks why Abe can’t see it. Abe says he’s aware of what Paulina did to Lani in the past but suggest it’s possible that now she’s trying to make it up to her.

Paulina apologizes for disrespecting her mother, Olivia, and says she’s just surprised to see her as she didn’t think she had her address. Olivia reveals that she got it from her assistant, Mary, and says she was so kind and helpful by even booking her plane ticket. Paulina claims that she didn’t know she was well enough to travel. Olivia says she’s not but she had to get here after talking to her sister. Paulina asks what Tamara said. Olivia tells her to invite her in first. Paulina then does, so her mom enters Paulina’s room 227.

Gwen says she can explain but Xander claims that Gwen didn’t know she was delivering drugs, as the envelopes he gave her were sealed and he just told her where to take them. Jack doesn’t understand. Xander says he tricked her by telling her they were documents for a business deal. Xander tells Jack to take it out on him, not Gwen, because she didn’t know what he was having her do.

Olivia calls Paulina’s apartment fancy. Paulina is glad she likes it but Olivia points out that she didn’t say she liked it. Paulina tells her that she can fly back to Miami, but Olivia refuses to go anywhere until she tells her what she’s doing here. Paulina claims not to know what she means. Olivia says she knows exactly what she means, because her sister is furious with her, and she doesn’t blame her. She adds that Tamara wants Paulina far away from Lani, and she does too.

Lani tells Abe that she just doesn’t want Paulina to hurt him again. Eli adds that Lani is just really worried about that and she knows what Paulina can do better than Abe does. Abe says he’s a big boy and can take care of himself. Lani tells Abe that she warned him when Paulina starts making fancy promises.

Theo argues that Ciara doesn’t love Ben and accuses Ben of brainwashing her. Shawn comes back in so Theo demands he arrest Ben and get him away from Ciara. Ciara assures that she’s not brainwashed. Ciara says she blocked out of a huge chunk of time but not because of Ben. Ciara explains that Ben knew she would be happier when she got her memory back and he was right. Theo questions Ciara loving Ben and not him. Ciara asks to talk to Theo alone for a minute. Shawn tells Ben that they can step outside but Ben says he can’t because he busted his ankle yesterday. Ciara says it’s fine and that she and Theo will go outside, so they exit the cabin. Shawn tells Ben that he knows he loves Ciara but questions what if his plan didn’t work out here. Ben says that didn’t happen. Shawn warns that he’s lucky it didn’t. Shawn adds that Claire and Allie spent the last night in jail which shocks Ben. Shawn explains that there were two cops and the mayor at the wedding and that Allie and Claire confessed to helping Ben trick Ciara. Shawn says he gave them a chance to make statements but they refused. Ben can’t believe it. Shawn informs him that the district attorney pressed charges, so he had to arrest his own daughter and his cousin. Shawn states that yesterday was not exactly a good day. Ben apologizes as he never told Allie and Claire to keep quiet and he thought they were the ones that gave him up so Shawn could find them. Shawn informs Ben that they are still sitting there in the cell. Ben argues that the charges have to be dropped as he talked them in to this so he takes full responsibility for it. Shawn calls it a cute trick getting Claire to walk down the aisle with the veil on. Ben apologizes and says he didn’t want to trick Ciara but it was the only way he could do it. Ben adds that he would do it all over again because it worked and she remember how much she loves him now. Ben states that Ciara belongs with him. Shawn agrees but says it’s sad that a good guy like Theo had to get torn to shreds in the process.

Outside, Ciara tells Theo how sorry she is. Theo says it’s not her, it’s Ben. Ciara says it is her. Ciara talks about waking up in the hospital confused and scared while Theo made her feel safe again. Ciara feels like she used him. Theo says it didn’t feel that way to him as he liked taking care of her and Ben was acting crazy. Ciara says that she was Ben’s wife and he loved her so he was afraid that he lost her. Ciara adds that she loves Ben too as she remembers now. Theo questions how she can love a guy who killed three people. Ciara says he was insane then and will never forgive himself for it. Ciara declares that she loves Ben for the man he was before he got sick and the man he became after getting better. Ciara tells Theo that she loves him too. Theo questions what Ben did to make her remember. Ciara explains that Ben gave her a fortune cookie. Ciara adds that Marlena told Ben that small things could trigger big memories and that’s what happened. Ciara says all her memories and feelings came rushing back. Ciara tells Theo that he’s the last person in the world that she’d ever want to hurt and she wishes it didn’t have to be this way. Theo guesses he knew that she would remember some day but he thought he could make her love him enough that it wouldn’t matter. Ciara cries that she’s so sorry as she removes her engagement ring and hands it back to Theo.

Eli informs Abe and Lani that Shawn radioed in, confirming that he and Theo are with Ciara and Ben and that Ciara is fine. Abe wonders how Theo is. Lani wonders what this means for Theo and Ciara’s wedding.

Paulina tells Olivia that she loves Lani. Olivia argues that Lani loves Eli but Paulina’s love for Lani didn’t stop her from trying to bulldoze the town square that Eli’s family built. Paulina argues that she made a mistake and is trying to make up for it now. Paulina insists that Lani and Abe are going to come around. Olivia refers to Abe as her sister’s man. Paulina argues that Tamara and Abe were over a long time ago. Olivia reminds Paulina that she made a promise to Tamara a long time ago and she broke that promise, so she’s here to stop her before she breaks anything else. Paulina complains that Tamara could talk to her herself if she had a problem but Olivia says that she told her she would talk to her. Olivia orders Paulina to pack up and move back home because she had no business coming to this town in the first place.

Eli notes that Shawn didn’t give him any other details. Eli tells Lani that they need to get home because the babysitter can’t stay late today. Abe tells them to go ahead while he will try to reach Shawn because he wants to know what’s going on at the cabin. Lani asks Abe to let her know how Theo is. Abe agrees to do so as Lani and Eli exit the Pub.

Theo recalls the day he picked the ring out and says he was so happy, thinking that he was going to marry the woman he loves and his best friend. Ciara encourages that Theo will find a woman the way he deserves to be loved. Theo says right now, he can’t imagine loving anyone other than Ciara. Ciara understands. Theo tells her to tell Shawn that he will meet him in the car. Ciara stops him and asks if she can at least give him a hug. Theo says maybe some day, but now now, as he then walks away. Ciara heads back in to the cabin. Ben asks how Theo is doing. Ciara asks how he thinks and tells Shawn that Theo is waiting for him in the car. Ciara tells Shawn not to just drop Theo off anywhere no matter what he says and to make sure he goes to Abe’s or Lani’s. Shawn agrees not to leave him alone. Shawn assumes that Ciara is not pressing charges after yesterday. Ciara admits she wasn’t really kidnapped as it was more of an intervention, but she never wants to be apart from Ben ever again. Shawn knows how much they love each other and says he’s really happy for them both. Ciara thanks him. Ben asks what’s going to happen with Claire and Allie. Shawn says that since Ciara was never kidnapped, the charges will be dropped. Ciara questions what charges. Shawn decides he will let Ben explain that to her. Shawn offers to call an EMT for Ben’s ankle but Ben says it won’t be necessary. Ben thanks him but says it’s starting to feel better already. Shawn says goodbye to them and exits the cabin. Ben tells Ciara that the worst is now over as he kisses her.

Xander tells Jack that he just owned up to pushing drugs and dumping a body so he asks what doesn’t add up. Jack says the timeline doesn’t add up if he started pushing drugs after he lost his job at Titan, because that was before he moved in here. Jack points out that Dr. Snyder’s body was found in the lake on July 4 and questions if he was still dealing drugs after Snyder died despite getting a job at Basic Black. Xander claims that once you are in, it’s hard to get out. Jack turns to Gwen and brings up Tripp seeing her and Dr. Snyder arguing at the beginning of June. Gwen claims not to remember. Jack says that Gwen was deeply involved by then and still involved when Snyder died at the beginning of July. Gwen looks to Xander behind Jack and he nods, so Gwen says that’s right. Jack turns back to Xander and complains that he let Xander live here rent free and he repaid him by duping his daughter into a drug ring. Jack argues that Gwen was still suffering from the loss of her baby. Xander says he didn’t know that but Jack says he didn’t care. Jack tells Xander to get his things and get the hell out because he disgusts him. Jack then storms out of the room.

Ciara tells Ben that she feels so bad about Theo because he was there for her when she needed him and this is how she repays him. Ben points out that she didn’t plan to hurt him and they were both just a victim of circumstance. Ciara brings up the look on Theo’s face when she told him and how he was heartbroken. Ben relates to how bad Theo’s hurting because that’s how bad he felt when he lost her. Ben adds that Theo has a great family to take care of him. Ciara responds that he will need them now more than ever.

Abe exits the Pub and calls Lani to tell her that he just talked to Shawn and it’s not good news, as he’s bringing Theo back alone and Ciara is staying at the cabin with Ben. Abe says he’s waiting for Theo now. Lani says to tell him how sorry she is and give him a hug for her. Abe hangs up as Shawn arrives with Theo. Abe thanks Shawn and says he will take it from here. Shawn then walks off and Abe hugs Theo as he cries.

Lani informs Eli that Ciara is back with Ben while Theo is all alone. Lani hopes their twins don’t ever have to go through anything like this. Eli says they can solve their babies’ problems but then they have to send them out in to the world. Lani compliments Eli on putting the babies down for their naps. Eli mentions that he read them a Madeline book and asks why she looks sad. Lani responds that she’s just thinking about Theo. Eli notes that she had the same look when he mentioned the book and when she mentioned the trip to Paris to Abe, so he asks what that was about. Lani tells him that she just remembered being a young girl and finding out her favorite aunt was not who she pretended to be.

Paulina argues that her mother can’t tell her where to go and where not to go since she had every right to come here for Lani’s babies being christened. Olivia argues that it was not her place. Lani asks whose place it was then and points out that Tamara was not there. Olivia says she was on tour and she knows it so that’s not fair. Paulina asks about what happened to her and if that was fair. Olivia says they aren’t talking about that now. Paulina suggests they should and put it all out on the table.

Gwen asks if Xander has gone completely mad by convincing her father that he’s totally responsible for her crimes. Xander tells her that Jack wanted to know why she went along with the drug deal with Dr. Snyder and he knew she couldn’t explain that to him without admitting that Snyder was blackmailing her and then Jack would want to know what he had on her. Xander brings up if Jack ever finds out that Gwen lied about Abigail being responsible for her miscarriage. Gwen knows Jack wouldn’t want any part of her but she doesn’t understand why Xander covered for her. Xander states that it’s better for him to lose a friend than her lose a father. Gwen questions him doing this to help her. Xander says that he’s doing it to help Jack as he’s never had a friend like him. Jack comes back to the room so Xander apologizes and says he deserves better. Jack suggests Xander should be apologizing to Gwen. Xander apologizes to Gwen for including her in his scheme and says he took advantage of her and Jack’s friendship. Xander declares that they will both be better off without him in the mix. Xander hopes that Gwen appreciates what a good lad Jack is and says she’s very lucky to have a father like him. Xander then takes his bag and exits the house.

Abe sits with Theo outside the Pub. Theo states that as soon as he heard Ciara got her memory back, he knew it was over for them. Theo always knew it could turn out like this. Abe knows he was hoping that it wouldn’t. Theo acknowledges that Abe tried to warn him and talk him in to calling it off but he didn’t listen. Theo declares that if he’s hurting now, he did it to himself.

Ben holds Ciara in bed and asks if it’s wrong for him to be this happy. Ciara says no and that everyone always talks about what she’s been through, but asks what about what Ben went through being kidnapped by Vincent and then thinking she was dead for months until he finally found her but she turned on him. Ben understands that she didn’t remember him. Ciara says that Ben actually got to watch her plan to spend the rest of her life with Theo but he still never gave up on her and finally reached her. Ben assures that he was never going to give up on her no matter how long it took. Ciara is thankful for that. Ben states that they have been through Hell together. Ben says when he couldn’t find her, he could feel her reaching out to him and that’s what kept him going. Ciara says knowing that he was out there and believing that he was looking for her kept her going. Ben declares that they are meant to be together as they kiss. Ciara asks about his ankle but Ben ignores it and continues kissing her. They begin to undress each other and make love in the bed. Ciara tells Ben to never let her go again. Ben responds that he won’t as she is his forever and he is hers.

Gwen sits alone at home and thinks back to kissing Xander. Jack then comes back in with a cup of tea for her. Jack brings up when he tells Julie that he kicked Xander out of the house. Jack can’t believe Xander as he really thought he developed a decent side, but he was wrong. Jack declares that Xander uses everyone he meets and can’t stop himself. Gwen thinks Xander got mixed up with Dr. Snyder out of desperation and says desperation has made her do things that she’s not proud of. Jack says that Xander risked Gwen’s life to make money so he can’t forgive that. Gwen points out that the drug dealing stopped when Dr. Snyder died so she hopes this whole business is over. Jack hopes so but notes that actions do tend to have consequences.

Xander walks through the town square and runs in to Shawn. Shawn says he was just looking for him and informs him that he’s under arrest as he then handcuffs Xander.

Abe tells Theo that when his mother died, he began to learn about something called the Tincture of Time. Theo doesn’t know what a tincture is. Abe explains that it’s a remedy as the passage of time began to make his pain bearable. Abe learned that he could smile when he thought of her instead of getting choked up. Theo argues that this isn’t like mom as there was nothing they could do for her while this didn’t have to happen, but he made it happen. Abe encourages that it’s not his fault. Abe says that Ciara turned to him when she lost her memory because they always shared a special bond. Theo complains that it wasn’t love for her. Abe says he took a leap of faith and gave his whole heart to someone which is never a mistake, even if the person doesn’t love you back. Abe assures Theo that he will find true love someday and he will know the minute it happens. Theo asks what he’s supposed to do until then. Abe tells him to lean on he and Lani because that’s what families are for, to help when things get really bad. Abe hugs Theo as he cries.

Lani tells Eli about how she sat with all her clothes for her trip to Paris but Paulina never showed up. Eli can’t imagine her going through something like that as a kid but he knows it hurt. Eli asks if Paulina ever told her why she did it. Lani says no as she didn’t see her for a really long time after that and when she did, she never mentioned it as if she forgot the promise she made to her. Lani says it’s fine and she was over it until all this Price Town scam brought all the feelings back. Lani complains that Paulina puts on this charm and makes you feel like the most important person in the world, but then she gets what she wants and it’s like you didn’t even exist. Eli tells her that he’s sorry as he knows how hurtful that can be. Lani says she’s tried to figure out who Paulina is, but she just can’t as she does not know who she really is.

Paulina complains about Olivia coming to town to talk her in to leaving but it won’t be that easy as she has some things to say too. Olivia responds that they wouldn’t have anything to talk about if Paulina just kept her promise. Paulina wishes she never made that promise. Olivia reminds Paulina that she promised her sister that she would stay away from her daughter. Paulina then reveals that they both know Lani is not really Tamara’s daughter, but Paulina’s daughter!

Gwen sits at home reading her tablet and laughs. Xander walks in and questions what she’s laughing about. Gwen responds that she’s reading The Intruder. Xander asks if there’s any news about Dr. Snyder. Gwen says no, but there is about Xander as he’s topped her front page story. Xander asks what she’s talking about. Gwen shows him the headline, which reads “The Happy Home-Wrecker: Ex-Titan CEO Destroys Marriage”.

Theo questions if Paulina found Ciara. Paulina clarifies that she thinks she might have found her but doesn’t have all the information yet. Paulina explains that a woman called and thinks she has a lead. Theo questions why they didn’t call the police. Paulina says she wants the reward money. Theo notes that it sounds pretty shady. Paulina admits it might be, but it might be Theo’s only chance to find Ciara.

Ciara says goodbye to Ben and gets up to leave but she has a memory. Ben asks what’s going on. Ciara claims it’s nothing but her memories continue rushing back. Ben guesses that she’s remembering right now. Ciara denies it so Ben asks what’s wrong then. Ciara claims it’s nothing and she has to go. Ben stops her and tells her not to fight it because he knows she can feel it. Ciara stops and remembers Ben proposing to her with a fortune cookie. Ciara then turns back to Ben and says “Oh my God”. Ben asks what it is. Ciara declares that she remembers.

Lani mocks Abe asking why she won’t let Paulina make amends, like she’s the one being unreasonable. Abe asks if she’s implying that he is. Lani asks if he caught Ciara’s amnesia. Lani reminds him that Paulina came for a Christening and stayed to make a killing while lying all along the way so they wouldn’t notice her boundless greed. Lani doesn’t know how Abe can get over the hypocrisy. Lani adds that worst of all is that Paulina used Abe’s spotless reputation and decades of service to this town to broker the deal and didn’t even care what happened to him. Abe disagrees but admits that Paulina lied and planned something terrible but she didn’t go through with what she planned and she is sorry. Lani argues that Paulina is always sorry when she’s been found out, so now she will spend time vowing to make a change, but she’s known her for her entire life and she never changes.

Paulina informs Theo that the woman is texting her bank account information and as soon as she transfers the money, she will call with what she knows. Theo worries that it’s a scam. Paulina agrees but says she’s willing to take the chance because she cares about Theo and Abe. Theo thanks her but feels they need to get the police involved. Paulina worries that would scare the woman off. Theo suggests calling Shawn since he wants to find Ciara as much as he does and he would know whether or not they can trust this woman.

Ben asks what Ciara is remembering. Ciara recalls being outside the town square on the bench and she opened up a fortune cookie which said “Will you marry me?”. Ben asks her what happened next. Ciara says that Ben asked her to marry him.

Jack goes to see Steve. Steve thanks him for coming while Jack notes that Steve sounded grumpy on the phone. Jack guesses that whatever it is, is not good news. Steve informs him that he’s been checking out the late Dr. Snyder and Kayla and Tripp were right that he was a total sleazebag. Jack knows Steve thought he was stealing pills from the hospital and selling them on the street. Steve confirms that he has proof that Dr. Snyder had been running his side business for six months. Jack asks why Steve needed to meet with him. Steve responds that it looks like Jack’s daughter Gwen was involved.

Xander laughs at the headline while Gwen jokes about what he did. Xander asks if he should’ve been more discreet like her. Gwen asks how drunk Nicole was when she slept with him. Xander says that two lonely people reached out to each other for a human connection. Xander tells her not to cheapen the memory. Gwen realizes that he blackmailed Nicole to get his job. Gwen asks if he understands this is now on his personal record and that he can’t be trusted so he’s never going to get another job again. Gwen calls his behavior insanely stupid and destructive. Gwen asks if his moment of fame worth it. Xander responds that she has no idea how worth it that it was.

Shawn goes to see Paulina and Theo, questioning this woman wanting the reward money first and not contacting the cops directly. Paulina thinks the woman might be scared of her screwing her out of the money. Shawn brings up how Paulina tried to screw the city out of it’s own town square. Theo insists that this could be a lead. Shawn adds that it also could be a set up. Shawn says he wasted enough time on a stakeout at the DiMeras which he thinks could’ve been set up by Ben. Paulina gets a text from the woman with her bank account information and says if she doesn’t get the money within the next ten minutes then the deal is off. Paulina declares that it’s now or never.

Ben asks Ciara if she remembers what happened next. Ciara flashes back and then tells Ben that he wanted to get down on one knee but it wasn’t easy because he was hurt. Ben says that’s right because he got beaten up but nothing was going to stop him from proposing to her. Ciara’s memory of the proposal continues and she remembers saying yes. Ben brings up her fortune that says “Yes” and says he should’ve known the universe would come through for them. Ciara asks if he didn’t mess with the fortune. Ben says he didn’t have to. Ben declares that no matter the circumstances or odds, fate is always going to bring them back together.

Xander informs Gwen that Sami paid him a million dollars to out Nicole. He adds that she had to use some to pay his bail after he got arrested which he blames Gwen for. Gwen says it’s not her fault as she didn’t tell him to shove a cop. Xander says he wouldn’t have if she didn’t throw him under the bus. Gwen admits she panicked. Xander knew it was a risk since Julie might have identified Dr. Snyder as the man on the couch. Gwen says they already told Julie that was Xander’s friend, so she had to tell Eli the same thing. Xander complains that now Eli is pressuring him to name his so called friend. Gwen asks if the police have contacted him since his arrest. Xander says they are too busy searching for Ciara, but sooner or later they will be back and demanding answer so he won’t be able to put them off much longer. Gwen thinks they might not have to do as she may have just come up with a solution.

Abe doesn’t understand since Lani was so happy to have Paulina in Salem before all this went down. Lani says maybe she was as she hadn’t seen her in a really long time and it was nice to have family at the Christening, but she forgot how Paulina operates and that there is always a grand entrance. Lani declares that in the end, Paulina is just always going to let you down. Abe asks how so. Lani talks about how Paulina was in and out of the picture while growing up. Lani says Paulina would bring her presents and shopping trips but she would also make her promises about places they would go and then she would disappear without explanation. Abe says that must have hurt. Lani declares that one time, Paulina just about broke her heart.

Shawn says he wants to find Ciara too but Paulina might be throwing $100,000 down the drain. Theo asks what if the woman is telling the truth and this could be their only chance to find Ciara. Theo complains that Ciara is alone with Ben. Paulina asks if Ben would hurt her since she thought he loved her. Theo argues that if Ciara rejects him, he could snap and asks if Ben even took his medication. Paulina asks what he’s talking about. Theo explains that Ben killed three woman and was known as The Necktie Killer, so he’s on medication to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Paulina questions Hope letting him marry Ciara. Paulina doesn’t care if she gets scammed or not as she wants to do whatever she can to get Ciara back. Paulina sends the woman the money and says now they just wait.

Ciara still doesn’t know if she buys fate. Ben says if she remembered everything that happened between them, she would. Ben asks if she remembers anything else. Ciara recalls that Ben asked her to marry him and she said yes, but maybe that’s only because he told her about it at the hospital. Ben suggests they keep going and asks what happened next. Ciara remembers helping him up and they kissed. Ciara has more memories start flooding back. Ciara then grabs Ben and kisses him as all of her memories continue coming back. Ciara tells Ben that she remembers everything. Ben thanks God. Ciara recalls Ben taking care of her in the cabin, their first kiss, their first time making love, and their wedding. Ciara declares that mostly, she remembers how much she loves him. Ben responds that he loves her. Ben can’t believe this is really happening as he felt so much time had passed that he wasn’t sure this day would ever come. Ciara points out that Ben never stopped fighting. Ciara realizes she was horrible to him and said awful things to him. Ciara says she was cruel and tried to deliberately marry Theo on their wedding anniversary. Ciara then remembers Theo.

Theo points out that the woman is not calling. Shawn believes it was a mistake. Paulina notes that it was an unknown number. Theo offers to try to trace it but Shawn says there is no point as they got conned and there’s nothing they can do about it. Paulina then gets a call from the woman and asks what she knows.

Lani tells Abe that when she was a kid, she loved the Madeline books so she wanted to go to Paris more than anything. Abe wishes he knew her then. Lani talks about how she used to beg her mom all the time to go to Paris for their summer vacation but they couldn’t afford it. Lani says that year Paulina came for Christmas and she’s great at getting people to tell her their dreams. Lani adds that right before she left that night, Paulina whispered to her that next summer they are going to go to Paris. Lani talks about getting letters from her that would make her dream even better as they were going to visit the Eiffel Tower and fancy restaurants. Abe guesses it was a disaster waiting to happen. Lani says she never told her mom, but she told all the girls at school and they got to laugh at her when school started since everyone knew that Paulina never showed up and she didn’t get to go to Paris, so she was a fool to believe her.

Jack tells Steve that he really thought Gwen was trying to change her life but now he has to face the fact that you never know what’s real with Gwen. Jack asks if he’s taken this to the police. Steve says not yet as he wanted to give him a heads up first. Jack asks Steve to hold off for now until he talks to Gwen to try and get the straight story. Jack doesn’t get it since Gwen’s mother was a drug addict, who died of a drug overdose, so he questions why she would get involved with a drug dealer.

Gwen tells Xander that all he has to do is hire someone who looks like Dr. Snyder and get him to tell Julie that he was the one on the couch. Xander asks why he has to make the hire. Gwen reminds him that she doesn’t have any money or a job. Xander suggests she get a job. Gwen says she hasn’t found one that matches her skillset yet. Xander remarks that she’s skilled at drugging people and seducing CEOs, but points out how she had to convince Chad that his wife was cheating on him and get him drunk. Gwen reminds Xander that he couldn’t stop himself from kissing her. Xander argues that she threw herself at him. Gwen says she doesn’t even like him that much. Xander says he doesn’t like her either but says once he kissed her, she got completely carried away but admits they both did. Xander thinks they should get carried away again.

Abe asks Lani if Paulina ever said why she didn’t show up. Lani says that Paulina finally told her mom about the trip and blamed it on some business committment she had and then the next time she saw her, it was like it never happened. Abe asks if she ever talked to her about it. Lani says she just let it go and moved on. Lani adds that it’s been a really long time since she even thought about that incident, but now that she’s talking about it, all those feelings are coming back up. Lani really doesn’t want Abe and Theo to get hurt the way she did all those years ago, so that’s why she thinks it’s best if they have absolutely nothing to do with Paulina.

Paulina tells the woman on the phone that she’s an angel, but warns her about sending her on a wild goose chase. Paulina hangs up and informs Shawn and Theo that the woman says she saw a limo on route 17, heading towards Mammoth Falls. Shawn realizes that he knows that Ben took Ciara to the cabin.

Ben holds Ciara as she says she can’t marry Theo now and it’s going to kill him. Ben says that Theo knew he was taking a risk and that she could get her memory back. Ciara says she told Theo over and over again that she wouldn’t, and he’s in love with her. Ciara says she loves Theo too, but as a friend. Ben tells Ciara that Theo was going to marry her, knowing that she still loved him so he knew he was taking a risk. Ciara repeats that she assured Theo over and over that it wouldn’t happen. Ciara declares that she has to find Theo and tell him in person. Ben tells Ciara that she can’t leave right now as he just got her back and can’t lose her all over again. Ciara assures that it will never happen again. Ben points out that the nearest phone is miles away. Ciara says that’s why she has to leave now while it’s still daylight. Ben asks if she has to. Ciara adds that it’s not just for Theo’s sake, but Ben’s too so someone can look at his ankle. Ben says his ankle stopped hurting as soon as she started to remember. Ben asks Ciara to let him hold her a little bit longer as he kisses her.

Xander and Gwen almost kiss but Jack comes home and questions what’s going on. Xander says nothing but Jack says that’s bull. Jack reveals that he just talked to Steve, who Kayla asked to look in to what Dr. Snyder had been up to since she thought he’d been stealing drugs from the hospital and selling them on the street. Gwen claims that she can’t imagine him doing anything like that. Jack then informs Gwen that Steve said she was running Dr. Snyder’s delivery service.

Abe tells Lani that he’s not trying to minimize how much Paulina hurt her, but if she never talked to her about it then maybe Paulina thinks she didn’t want to talk about it. Abe adds that there may be things she doesn’t know. Lani remarks that Abe has really fallen hard for Paulina. Abe states that the Paulina he knows screwed up big time but admitted it and tried to make amends. Lani argues that it’s only when she got found out. Abe points out that the town square is still standing, Chanel is still going to open her bakery, and she put up a great deal of money to help Theo find Ciara. Lani complains that it’s always about money with her. Abe asks if that’s so hard to understand about what that man did to her. Lani is unaware and asks what man. Abe assumed that she knew so Lani questions what it is.

Ben and Ciara lay in bed together. Ciara says this is so nice as they haven’t been like this in over a year. Ben recalls everyone thinking she had died in the car explosion. Ciara never thought she would make it out of that glass cage but Ben found her. Ben says in a way, she found him as it was his dreams that helped him know she was still alive. Ciara says she actually remembers those vivid dreams now. They talk about the dream where they were Romeo & Juliet. Ben says that’s the one that made him know she was definitely alive. Ciara points out that Romeo & Juliet didn’t get a happy ending. Ben assures that the universe will see to it that they do. Ciara understands people thinking their psychic connection is crazy but they both know it’s true. Ben agrees as they kiss.

Gwen tells Jack that’s ridiculous as she would never be involved with drugs, especially after what she went through with her mother. Jack says that’s what he thought but then Dr. Snyder’s dealer identified Gwen as the delivery person. Gwen claims there must be some sort of a mistake. Jack asks if Julie was mistaken too when she identified Xander’s drunk friend on the couch as Dr. Snyder. Xander comments that his friend does kind of look like Snyder. Gwen argues that a drug dealer can’t be trusted. Jack yells at her to stop lying to him. Jack says he brought her in to his home and defended her, telling everyone that she had changed and trusted her but she was just playing him. Gwen cries that it’s not true. Jack warns her not to use words like true and trust because she doesn’t know what they mean. Jack acknowledges that Gwen found a great cover and wrapped herself up here but then she and her doctor teamed up to sell drugs. Gwen tells Jack that it wasn’t like that. Jack asks if she’s admitting that she was working with Dr. Snyder. Gwen then admits that she was. Gwen asks Jack to let her explain. Jack asks if Gwen kept drugs in this house. Gwen admits that she did. Jack points out that she put Julie, Doug, and him at incredible risk but she doesn’t think about other people. Gwen cries that he doesn’t understand. Jack says he finally does. Jack declares that her partner in crime dropped dead and she knew someone would walk in so she got Xander to help her. Jack remarks that she’s good at getting men to do what she wants. Jack guesses they took Dr. Snyder’s body and dumped it in the lake. Xander thinks back to Gwen crying about Jack finding out and the possibility of losing her father. Jack tells Gwen that after everything she’s done to he and his family, she owes him the truth. Gwen starts to tell him but Xander interrupts and says Jack has it all backwards. Xander declares that he wasn’t helping Gwen out of a jam, but she was helping him.

Paulina looks at a photo of her and Lani and says that maybe someday Lani will forgive her. There’s a knock at the door so Paulina hopes it’s Lani. Paulina answers the door and asks what the hell they are doing there.

Abe finishes telling Lani about Paulina’s past relationship. Lani tells Abe that it’s awful as she never knew anything about that. Abe says that’s why money is so important to Paulina. Lani argues that this reward will only make things worse. Abe then gets a text that Theo and Shawn are on their way to the cabin as they think Ben might have taken Ciara there. Lani asks how they figured that out. Abe informs her that someone called Paulina thanks to the reward she offered so they can make sure Ciara is okay.

Ben and Ciara remain in bed. Ben can’t believe this is happening as there were moments when he almost gave up. Ciara acknowledges that she didn’t make it easy on him and asks how she could do that. Ben says they have an excuse to have another wedding, minus the bomb, and this time a honeymoon. Ciara says that sounds wonderful. Ciara tells Ben that she loves him so much as they kiss until Shawn and Theo burst in to the cabin.
