Days of Our Lives Update

While leaving his room, Eric tells Brady to just text him when Dr. Rolf is done deprogramming Stefan. As he leaves, he runs in to Roman. Roman questions if Eric was talking to someone but Eric claims he was just talking to himself and asks what brought Roman up. Roman says if he hasn’t noticed, the lights were flickering so he came to see what the problem was. Eric suggests they go down and check the circuit breaker. Roman agrees and they walk away together.

Paulina meets Abe in the town square and apologizes for being late, noting that she stopped to check on Roman. Abe asks how he’s doing. Paulina mutters about Roman talking to an urn but then informs Abe that Roman informed her that Steve and John had a chat with Orpheus yesterday. Abe questions if a chat is all and Orpheus is still living. Paulina confirms that he is, but Orpheus told them something that he’s never going to believe.

At the DiMera Mansion, Tony accuses John and Steve of jumping to conclusions that it must’ve been his sister Megan who stole the orchid because Orpheus said it was a DiMera. Anna remarks that stealing the orchid wouldn’t be the worst thing that Megan has done. Tony points out that Megan is not alive as she died in 1985. John and Steve then reveal that Megan Hathaway is very much alive, shocking Tony.

Megan Hathaway stands in the DiMera lab with the three tubes containing Marlena, Kate, and Kayla. The three women open their eyes as Megan declares that the three sleeping beauties are finally awake as she laughs. Megan hopes they enjoyed their naps because now that they are back to the land of the living, there’s a lot of work for them to do…

Abe asks Paulina if Orpheus said which DiMera it was. Paulina says that Orpheus wasn’t specific, just that it was someone in that family. Paulina asks if Abe has any ideas. Nicole then approaches. Abe greets her and says it’s so good to see her. Abe invites Nicole to join them, so she sits down. Abe wishes they could’ve talked to Nicole at the funerals but there were so many people. Paulina comments on them being three special women. Nicole remarks that Marlena and Kayla were, so Paulina guesses that Nicole won’t be missing Kate. Nicole thinks back to fighting Kate in the past and says they had a very complicated relationship, always going at it, but they ended things on decent terms. Nicole then admits that she really will miss Kate.

Eric and Roman finish checking the breakers, so Eric guesses the lights flickering was just a fluke. Roman reveals to Eric that he’s been hearing Kate’s voice through the urn and that Paulina heard her too. Eric asks what Kate said. Roman responds that Kate’s worried about him, John, and Steve. Eric says that makes sense because they’ve been through a lot lately. Eric asks how Roman is doing. Roman thought the funeral might bring closure, but Orpheus dropped a bombshell and claimed to know who stole the orchid.

Anna tells Tony that it does sound like Megan to come back from the dead and not even give her own brother a note. Tony says that’s not the central issue here. Anna talks about Tony making a donation in Megan’s name every year even though he didn’t know she was his sister until after she died. Tony states that he makes that donation because Megan was murdered by Larry Welch, who threw her in to a hot tub. Steve says that’s just what it looked like. John adds that Stefano intervened and secretly kept Megan alive for years in a cryogenic state. Steve explains that Stefano kept Megan on ice until he had someone fix her and now she’s alive. John declares that they have every reason that Megan is the DiMera who took the Orchid and decided that their wives were going to die.

Megan states that she has been closely monitoring the brain activity of Marlena, Kate, and Kayla. Megan notes that just now there was a significant spike in activity and then they all opened their eyes at the same time. She calls it quite a coincidence, but definitely a welcome development because now her plans can finally proceed. Megan pushes a red button that opens the three tubes that the women are laying in. Megan then pulls out a syringe and injects Marlena, causing her to begin to move as Megan laughs.

Tony says it seems John and Steve have made up their minds based off nothing but words from Orpheus. John then reveals that he and Steve saw Megan last summer. Tony questions them not informing him of this. Steve says they had their reasons and she hasn’t changed a bit. Anna questions where they found Megan. Steve explains that it took place Beyond Salem…

Megan injects Kate with the syringe and says it should perk her right up. Marlena sits up and looks around. Marlena identifies Megan, who declares that she is back again. Marlena doesn’t understand as she heard Megan was alive, but questions what she is doing here. Marlena then asks where she is. Megan tells her to try to relax and asks what she last remembers. Marlena recalls being on the roof with John. Megan calls it a very romantic set up with a slideshow of their life together which Marlena flashes back to. Megan remarks that Marlena then had to go spoil the mood by dying, or so they thought.

Eric questions Roman about how Orpheus knows a DiMera took the orchid. Roman explains that Orpheus had some people on the outside do some investigating. Eric questions Orpheus being able to identify them before the police or the ISA. Roman states that John believes Orpheus, but he didn’t say which DiMera it was, so John and Steve are looking in to it. Eric asks if there’s anything he can do. Roman brings up that Nicole has been living at the DiMera Mansion, so it’s possible she’s heard or seen something. Roman suggests that Eric could ask her but Eric doesn’t think that’s a good idea.

Paulina tells Abe and Nicole that she was just getting to know Kate. Paulina asks Nicole about what started the trouble between her and Kate. Nicole says it’s hard to say now. Abe suggests it was when Nicole stole Kate’s husband. Nicole guesses that probably was the first time, but points out that Kate was trying to kill Victor. Nicole adds that Kate hated her before that because she didn’t think she was good enough for her son. Paulina asks what happened afterwards. Nicole responds that Kate changed her tune and paid her $5 million dollars to marry her son. Paulina questions how that came about. Nicole explains that Lucas was trying to get custody of Will and needed to provide a stable home. Paulina jokes that Nicole hit the jackpot. Nicole confirms that she did take the money but calls it the worst mistake of her life because she was engaged to Eric and she’s ashamed to say that she gave him up for the money. Nicole adds that it wasn’t just about the money, but something in her past that she didn’t want to come out. Nicole often thinks about what might have happened if she and Eric did get married back then. Paulina asks how long ago that was. Nicole informs her that it was when she and Eric first met 25 years ago.

John and Steve explain to Anna and Tony that Megan had her henchmen grab them while they were visiting their kids in San Francisco and Seattle. John adds that they were then flown to Caracas where they had their face to face with Megan and she had apparently been using that her base of operations for a long time. Anna questions what she wanted with them. Steve responds that she brainwashed them causing Anna to remark that Megan is Stefano all over again. John adds that she then had them flown to Hong Kong to crash the DiMera Gala and steal the prism. Tony says he knew the prism was stolen but he thought it was a jewel thief or a rival company. Anna talks about knowing it was a mistake for Li to go after the prisms since they caused enough trouble in the 80s when Stefano tried to collect all three of them which led to the plane crash where she, Tony, and nearly half of Salem nearly died. Tony asks if they gave the prism to Megan. John confirms that they did and even with a small army trying to stop her, she still got away. Steve notes that Megan is still out there somewhere and now she has all three prisms.

Marlena asks Megan if she died. Megan says sort of and reveals that while she was in the hospital, she stuck something in to her IV so it appeared that she had died and then she switched the bodies in the morgue and took her away. Marlena questions John and her family thinking that she’s died. Megan confirms that they had a funeral and she hopes it gave them closure. Marlena asks whose body she used. Megan reminds Marlena that Stefano had a whole army of Marlena lookalikes. Megan says that’s why she never throws anything away because you never know when it will come in handy. Megan adds that Marlena actually was at death’s door, so she brought here here to this cryogenic chamber. Marlena guesses it wasn’t done on her behalf. Kayla wakes up, questioning where she is.

Eric tells Roman that he and Nicole aren’t on the best terms and things get tense when they are around each other so he wants to avoid her because they push each others’ buttons. Roman suggests they talk about why they keep pushing each others’ buttons. Eric thought Roman didn’t like talking about feelings. Roman says he’s grown. Roman argues that this is not just an ugly breakup or a casual fling, causing Eric to realize that he and Nicole have been in each other’s lives for 25 years.

Paulina tells Nicole that 25 years is a long time and asks how she and Eric first met. Nicole explains that she was a waitress at the Java Cafe and the day she took his order, he took her heart. Nicole flashes back to that moment. Nicole comments that they were a lot younger then and like different people. Nicole can’t believe it was 25 years ago. Abe calls it quite a milestone. Paulina agrees and says if they had stayed together, it would be their silver anniversary. Nicole recalls that Eric was a photographer back then and he convinced Sami to hire her as a model at Titan which is when they fell in love. Paulina asks if Eric has been a part of her life ever since then. Nicole says that Eric was gone for a long time but when he came back, she was not prepared for it. Nicole remembers Eric returning to Salem and how she was shocked to see he had become a priest.

Eric tells Roman that he and Nicole were kids when they met. Roman acknowledges that Nicole was Eric’s first love. Roman asks when he last saw Nicole. Eric says it was Valentine’s Day at the Bistro as their tables were practically on top of each other. Roman suggests that was a sign while Eric calls it a disaster since he was with Sloan and Nicole was with EJ. Roman asks if he’s getting serious with Sloan. Eric reveals that as of yesterday, they are no longer together. Roman complains about Sloan insulting his chowder while Nicole always has seconds. Roman thinks the fact that it’s always intense between Eric and Nicole is because there’s always something between them. Eric says that is until now because it never works. Roman urges Eric to try again, insisting that he won’t want to look back and realize he wasted a lot of time being right.

Tony asks Steve again why they didn’t tell him all of this. Steve explains that the ISA swore them all to secrecy since it’s still an ongoing investigation and Megan’s mere existence was considered classified information. John declares that they are not staying quiet about this anymore when they think she’s the one who took the orchid. Tony questions why. John asks who knows what her motives are. John says Megan could simply be striking back at her enemies like Stefano. John adds that if Megan took the orchid then she is the one who killed Marlena, Kate, and Kayla, and she’s not going to get away with that.

Megan fills Kayla in on everyone thinking they are dead. Megan notes that she didn’t have a Kayla lookalike in storage so she had to make do. Kayla argues that she needs to let them know they are alive and not let them suffer. Megan questions why and calls it payback for all the years that John and Steve would thwart Stefano. Marlena argues that Megan kidnapped and brainwashed them last summer, asking if that wasn’t enough. Megan complains that they made Stefano’s life Hell and says they tried to bring down a great man. Marlena questions if this is about retribution for Stefano. Megan calls it bigger than that as their so-called deaths are vital to her plans. Kayla asks if Kate also survived. Kate then wakes up and confirms she is there too.

Paulina asks if Nicole was really surprised that Eric became a priest. Nicole calls it a shock but she wasn’t surprised as Eric was always spiritual. Nicole says she told herself that she was happy for him but it got tough when she started working for him. Paulina asks how long it was before she gave in to the forbidden passion. Abe argues that they invited Nicole to breakfast, not an interrogation, but Nicole says it’s okay. Nicole informs Paulina that it didn’t happen like that since Kristen got Eric kicked out of the priesthood. Nicole adds that they then had to work through some things, but once they did, it was heaven.

Eric tells Roman that he’s sorry to throw cold water on his massive plan for his life, but Nicole moved on with EJ. Roman jokes that they won’t last but Eric says that Nicole and EJ have a long history and it looked like they have a new chapter. Roman argues that Nicole might have just wanted him to think that. Eric questions when Roman became team Nicole because he remembers Roman always insisting that he break up with her. Roman says he’s evolved and just wants Eric to be happy, so if Nicole makes him happy, he says to fight for her and get a move on. Roman guarantees that Eric doesn’t want to waste time like he did.

Kate questions everyone thinking they are dead and Megan being Stefano’s daughter. Megan calls Kate the whore who married Stefano. Kate jokes that she hopes they can be friends. Kate sees Megan has inherited Stefano’s penchant for intricate machinations. Marlena says that Megan thought of everything including lookalike bodies for their funerals. Megan talks about how Kate’s was easy because she wanted to be cremated, so she just came up with ashes for her urn and now Roman is talking to the remains of a goat. Megan declares that she loves her work. Kate asks what Megan is going to do to them.

Steve states that finding Megan won’t be easy since the ISA has been conducting an international manhunt since last July and even Hope hasn’t been able to locate her. Tony questions Hope knowing about this too. Steve confirms that Megan tried to have Hope killed. Anna remarks that some things never change because Megan was always jealous of Bo’s love for Hope. John asks Tony if there’s anything from the past that might give him an idea of where Megan might be. Tony says no since he didn’t even know Megan was his sister until after she died. Anna brings up Stefano keeping a box of Megan’s things around. Tony thinks it may be in the attic. John says it’s worth a shot and decides that while Tony is getting that, he’s going to give Shane’s son, Andrew Donovan, a call since he’s the ISA agent heading this whole investigation. John states that Megan had to come out of hiding to take the orchid, so maybe she left them a trail. Steve says he hopes so.

Paulina talks about having a vivid memory of Nicole and Eric at her and Abe’s wedding. Paulina still feels they have too much of a connection to not end up together. Abe agrees. Nicole says not to hold their breath because Eric is with Sloan now. Paulina calls Sloan a vile woman. Nicole assures that she has no doubt in her mind that Eric has moved on, just like she is going to.

Eric gets a text from Brady that Dr. Rolf is taking a break. Eric texts Brady back, asking if he needs anything but Brady says he’s good. Roman comes back and tells Eric that it seems the lights have settled. Eric decides that he will go on a run then. Roman encourages Eric to think about what he said about Nicole as Eric then exits the Pub. Roman remarks that he hopes Eric follows his advice and doesn’t take too long to follow his heart. Roman looks to the urn and declares that he would give anything to have more time with Kate.

Tony and Anna go through the box of Megan’s things that Stefano kept. Tony can’t believe that Megan is still alive and Stefano never said anything. Anna remarks that even dead, Stefano is still full of surprises. Tony wonders if Megan will try to claim her share of DiMera Enterprises, commenting that it would really shake up the balance of power. Anna says there must be some sort of clause that would keep an international fugitive from being an active participant in the company. Tony points out that it didn’t stop Kristen when she made sure that Gabi remained CEO. Anna thinks they really need to change the by laws. Tony agrees to look into it. Anna thinks Tony has something bigger to worry about. Anna brings up that Megan wanted to find the prisms because they cured all sorts of things including Stefano’s brain tumor. Anna wonders if Megan is collecting the prisms again for the same reason. Anna then asks what if Megan is trying to bring Stefano back from the dead, or what if she already has?

Megan tells Kate, Kayla, and Marlena that she’s given them enough to process and says she’s going to give them time to acclimate to their new home. Kayla argues that it’s not their home and she needs to let them go. Megan says it’s not their call. Kate asks why they are here. Marlena then asks if this is about the three prisms which Kate questions. Kayla explains that Megan was after the prisms last summer. Kate is surprised to learn that they knew Megan was alive since then. Megan explains that Hope and the ISA didn’t want anyone to know about her comeback to Earth. Kayla says they are eventually going to find her and then they will be rescued. Megan says she wouldn’t count on that since for 7 months, she’s been one step ahead of Hope, so when they do figure out where she is, it will be too late for the three women. Megan says they are giving her a headache and grabs another syringe as she declares that it’s time for another nap.

Paulina tells Abe that Nicole and Eric have quite the love story. They hope that it’s not over yet. Abe informs Paulina that in two days, it will be two years since they first met. Paulina knows they will still be together and in love in 25 years as they kiss.

Nicole walks to the park and sits on the bench as she thinks back to her and Eric’s wedding. Eric then walks by and they see each other.

John and Steve go to the Brady Pub. Roman asks if they had any luck. Steve informs him that they just talked to Tony and Anna and came up with a theory that they are looking in to and now they are just waiting to hear from the ISA. Roman questions what they have to do with this. John tells Roman to brace himself as they think that the DiMera they are looking for is Megan Hathaway.

Megan injects Kate, Kayla, and Marlena to put them to sleep. Megan calls them a real handful but says that it will all be worth it in the end. Megan declares that they are going to need some rest for what comes next because phase two will begin very shortly…

Anna tells Tony that Stefano had terminal cancer, but wonders if Megan put Stefano on ice, like he did for her and if she found a cure with the prisms. Tony thinks they are letting their imaginations run away from them. Tony adds that Stefano would be in his 90s now and probably couldn’t take the trauma. Tony comments on Dr. Rolf confirming Stefano was dead and putting his memories in a microchip. Tony admits that it’s just not adding up. Anna questions that if not Stefano, who is Megan trying to cure?

Megan leans against a cryogenic chamber and then exits the lab.

Anna enters the living room of the DiMera Mansion and takes the newspaper from Tony. Anna searches the paper and comments on not finding anything about the death of Orpheus. Tony questions why she would think he is dead.

Paulina goes to the Brady Pub and asks Roman to join her for coffee. Roman comments on it not being too busy right now and asks if she’s okay. Paulina says she dropped by to tell him about her problems and says she knows 200 people are thinking of and praying for him. Paulina adds that she came by because she’s worried about him, John, and Steve. Roman tells her to say what’s on her mind. Paulina wants to make sure they didn’t kill Orpheus.

Steve joins John at Marlena’s grave. John thought maybe he could make sense of what Orpheus told them about a DiMera stealing the orchid because the only reason to do that is to make sure that Kate, Kayla, and Marlena died. John declares that they have to find that son of a bitch and make them pay.

Marlena, Kayla, and Kate remain in the afterlife. Kayla tells Kate to lighten up because they are in Heaven but Kate complains that they are not supposed to be here like Jake said.

Jake interrupts Nick playing a video game in the afterlife. Jake tells Nick that he made a mistake and he needs to send Marlena, Kate, and Kayla back to Earth but Nick says no.

Roman questions how Paulina found out about their plan to kill Orpheus. Paulina tells him that she overheard Anna but assures that the secret is safe with her. Paulina worries about word getting out of the death of Orpheus. Roman reveals that John and Steve did not kill him. Paulina is relieved and says she knows he deserved it but it’s not what Kate, Kayla, and Marlena would have wanted. Roman responds that he knows that because Kate told him that.

Kate reminds Kayla and Marlena that Jake told them they are still alive and asks if they aren’t curious if that’s true or not. Marlena explains that they are having a hard time believing that what Jake said is true. Marlena wonders if Jake wasn’t just another Devil’s illusion so she’s not sure they can trust him. Kate questions her not having faith. Marlena knows Kate wants to believe it is true. Marlena questions how they can be alive if they are not on Earth. Kate says all she knows is that none of this makes sense so she’s going to cling to the hope that it’s true. Kayla questions where Jake is now since he proclaimed they are alive but then disappeared with Nick. Marlena suggests they are hashing out their fates, but notes they have another issue at hand. Marlena says John and Steve were out to kill Orpheus and if they succeeded, they have to decide what happens now.

Steve wonders if this is another mind game of Orpheus. John says this time, his gut is telling him it’s no game and he’s telling the truth. Steve remarks that there’s a first time for everything. John says it makes a weird kind of sense that a DiMera would be involved since their thirst for payback didn’t end with Stefano. Steve says they need to find out which one it was and John feels they know exactly where to start.

Anna tells Tony that there is nothing about the death of Orpheus in the news. Tony suggests that’s because he hasn’t died and Anna has transformed her wishful thinking in to delusion. Anna insists that she knows for a fact that Orpheus was scheduled to be murdered in prison. Tony questions how she would know that. Anna then reveals that Roman told her and since he hasn’t called to tell her it didn’t happen, that means it happened. Tony then questions how Roman would know.

Paulina asks Roman if he means Kate told him not to kill Orpheus on her deathbed. Roman then clarifies that she told him from her urn. Roman gets a message that he has a delivery to go sign for in the back. Paulina comments that she has the Pub all to herself then and that she’s all alone with Kate’s urn. Paulina questions Kate communicating with them from the afterlife just when she thought life in Salem couldn’t get any stranger.

Kate believes their husbands returned to their senses just in time. Marlena suggests trying to connect with them again. Kayla suggests Kate try connecting with Roman again since it worked last time. Kate agrees to give it a try as she hopes that Jake talks Nick in to letting them return to Earth.

Jake argues with Nick that the three women are still alive. Nick calls it a minor technicality. Jake stops Nick from playing his video game. Nick tells Jake that Marlena, Kate, and Kayla are going to Hell and there’s nothing he can do about it. Jake argues that he can’t steal the souls of three innocent women because he holds a grudge against one of them. Nick says there are no rules and adds that he despises Will for ruining his life and Marlena is his grandmother and Kayla his aunt, so Will can mourn them for the rest of his life.

Kayla encourages Kate to focus and think about her love for Roman. Marlena adds that they have faith in her. Kate then begins trying to speak to Roman.

Paulina begins hearing Kate’s voice through the urn, calling out to Roman and saying she needs to talk to him. Paulina tries responding and says that Roman stepped out for a moment and asks if she can take a message.

Tony questions Anna telling him that Kate spoke to Roman through her urn to stop the murder plot. Anna brings up Tony’s twin brother coming back from the dead twice. Anna decides she’s going to call the Brady Pub to see if Roman got to Steve and John to stop them from killing Orpheus. Steve and John then arrive and confirm that he did and they did not kill Orpheus. Steve then reveals that now they know it was a DiMera who ultimately killed Kayla, Kate, and Marlena. John adds that they are here to find out which one it was. Tony questions them saying that Orpheus telling them that someone stole the Orchid from Kristen. Anna calls that implausible since it’s not like Kristen to have lax security. Tony asks if they think they had anything to do with it, talking about how much they love Marlena and not having any issue with Kayla and Kate. They explain that they aren’t accusing them or saying it has anything to do with Marlena, Kate, and Kayla as individuals, but it was an act of revenge which runs in the DiMera family. John says they came to ask for their help in figuring out which DiMera it was.

Nick tells Jake not to act like he hasn’t done the same thing, bringing up that Jake and his team snatched Bo Brady’s soul from his body before he was fully dead. Jake responds that was a mistake and they corrected it, so now he’s asking Nick to do the same thing for Kate and her friends. Nick questions Jake caring a great deal for Kate. Jake says he’s not advocating just because he had a relationship with Kate and that this is about right and wrong. Jake tells Nick to think about Julie, the one person who ever saw good in Nick and stuck by him until the end. Jake adds that Julie prays for Nick’s soul every night and lights a candle every year on the anniversary of his death. Nick remarks that Julie always was sentimental. Jake argues that Julie always loved him. Jake asks what he thinks Julie will say when she joins them in Heaven and realizes that even in the afterlife, Nick is a nasty little man and everybody was right about him while she was wrong. Jake asks what he thinks that will do to Julie. Jake guesses Nick doesn’t care what anybody thinks about him, not even Julie.

Kate asks if she’s hearing Paulina which she confirms. Paulina is uncertain about talking to an urn. Kate says she needs to talk to Roman. Paulina mentions that he stepped out and she can go get him but Kate doesn’t know how much time she has, so she needs to get a message to Roman about Orpheus. Paulina confirms that they backed out and Orpheus is still alive. Paulina asks if Kate reached out to ask about Orpheus. Marlena and Kayla urge Kate to tell Paulina about what Jake said about them still being alive. Kate questions them believing it now. Paulina asks if Kate is still there. Kate tells Paulina there’s a message that she needs to get to Roman that will be life changing for all of them.

Tony questions believing Orpheus since they’ve never put any stock in to what he’s said before. Steve reveals that Orpheus told them this after they decided not to kill him. Tony thinks he could be toying with them. John says he’s known Orpheus for years and his gut says he was telling the truth. Steve repeats that it makes sense for a DiMera to be involved. Anna sees his point with some of the things Kristen has done. Tony argues that they always say it’s a DiMera’s fault. Tony tells John and Steve that they can believe what they want but he’s not going to help them in their witch hunt. John says it’s his call. Tony asks them to leave but Steve says they’re not leaving. Steve repeats that it’s Tony’s choice not to help while John warns that if he doesn’t, they will strip the DiMera Mansion right down to it’s foundation.

Jake tells Nick that Julie isn’t wrong about him. Nick argues that you don’t end up where he did from being misunderstood and he really is that bad. Jake says he read Nick’s file about how a terrible thing happened to him and no one seemed to care. Nick acknowledges that he was raped. Jake talks about how Nick did love Gabi. Nick doesn’t want to hear his life recapped. Jake wants Nick to see how one bad decision kept leading to another and he tried to control or own every woman he loved, but the whole time Julie never stopped loving him and would’ve done anything for him without reason. Jake says it’s not too late. Jake tells Nick to do this one good thing and to do it for Julie.

Paulina tells Kate that she has her attention. Kate tries to instruct her to tell Roman that they are all alive but Nick cuts the connection. Paulina complains that she can’t hear her and only heard her say that they are still. Nick tells Kate that calls to earth are not allowed. Kate argues that they have to tell Roman and the others that they are alive. Nick questions them taking Jake at his word. Jake then returns as well. Kate asks if Jake talked Nick in to letting them go home.

Paulina continues trying to get through to Kate and tries knocking on the urn until Roman comes back and asks what’s going on. Paulina tells him that she was talking to Kate and then it was just like she hung up. Paulina doesn’t think it was by choice because Kate was trying to tell her something to tell Roman and she could tell it was something really important and urgent. Paulina says she was in the middle of it until it was like someone or something didn’t want hear to hear the end of the sentence. Paulina says she has no words for this. Roman encourages her to breathe. Paulina states that Kate asked about Orpheus and she told her that Roman stopped John and Steve from killing him which made her real happy. Roman is glad that Paulina was able to tell her that. Roman wonders what Kate was trying to tell him.

Jake asks if Nick is going to tell them or if he should. Nick responds that there was a small slip up so perhaps their souls were harvested slightly prematurely. Marlena realizes that Jake was telling the truth then and questions Nick now admitting that. Kayla asks if he’s going to let them go home. Nick confirms that Jake appealed to his better side which is rare but does exit. Nick then announces that he is letting the women go home which excites them. Nick adds that they shouldn’t remember any of this when they get back to Earth. Marlena says she’s okay with that if she gets to see John and her family. Nick says what happens when their souls go back to their bodies has nothing to do with them, so they could reunite with their family or they could die instantly and end up right back here. Marlena, Kayla, and Kate decide they are willing to take the risk. Jake directs them to walk through the doors and their souls will re-enter their bodies.

After searching the DiMera Mansion, Steve says it seems to him that the only DiMera that lives there that would have a motive is EJ. Tony points out that they just trashed EJ’s room and didn’t find anything. John brings up that Kate knew that Lucas kidnapped Sami but just let EJ twist in the wind. Steve adds that Stefano always said revenge was a dish best served cold. John adds that EJ always listened to Stefano. Tony calls that wild speculation and points out that Kate ultimately exonerated EJ, but also notes that Chad was just as guilty as Kate was. Tony adds that Chad testified against EJ and EJ didn’t even go after him. John notes that Marlena was EJ’s kids’ grandmother while Steve adds that Kayla was their great aunt. John admits that EJ wouldn’t do that to his kids. Anna and Tony talk about how it couldn’t be Johnny or Chad. John then brings up Stefan. Steve calls him definitely sleazy enough. Steve knows no one wants to bring up the past, but Stefan slept with Abigail while knowing she wasn’t in her right mind and that’s pretty damn sleazy. Anna reluctantly agrees but insists that people really can change and says that Stefan has been a lot more decent since coming back to life. John asks if there are any other DiMeras floating around other than the ones covered in Salem. Tony argues that Sydney wouldn’t have a motive while Anna adds that Theo wouldn’t hurt a fly. Steve adds that Steven Hawk would never hurt Kayla. Anna then brings up Peter Blake being as lethal as he is dreamy. John says Peter Blake has no redeeming quality but he also doesn’t have a motive. Tony says they’ve gone through the whole family tree unless they resurrect Stefano or Andre, so it seems they’ve run out of DiMeras. John and Steve then declare there is one DiMera they haven’t talked about yet…

Paulina apologizes to Roman for not hearing what Kate was trying to tell her, but at least she knows Roman stopped Steve and John from killing Orpheus, so now she can really rest in peace. Roman declares that he won’t rest in peace until he finds out who did this to Kate, Kayla, and Marlena. Paulina argues that Orpheus did it with a big assist from Kristen. Roman informs her that Orpheus claims there was another DiMera who stole the orchid from Kristen and that’s what John and Steve are trying to figure out.

Tony questions what John and Steve are getting at when they listed every living member of the family so there are no more DiMeras out there. Anna says that’s unless Steve and John know something that they don’t..

Marlena, Kate, and Kayla leave Heaven while Nick tells Jake that all is well that ends well. Jake states that for the women, it’s not the end, but a new beginning. Jake prays their souls find their way back to Salem and their families. Nick says he does too. Nick admits that what Jake said got to him. Nick tells Jake not to tell anyone since he has an image to maintain. Jake agrees that it will be their secret and thanks him. Nick calls him a worthy opponent and jokes that he looks forward to locking horns or wings again. Nick notes that none of the women thought twice about walking through those doors, so he hopes they don’t wake up to a fate worse than death..

Tony demands to know what John and Steve aren’t telling them. He asks if Stefano had another illegitimate child and who this is. John responds that it’s not new, she’s been around for awhile and tells Tony that it’s his half-sister, Megan Hathaway.

Megan Hathaway stands in the DiMera lab with the three tubes containing Marlena, Kate, and Kayla. The three women open their eyes as Megan declares that the three sleeping beauties are finally awake as she laughs.

Days of Our Lives Update

Wendy remains on the phone with Johnny and says she’s glad the drug vial didn’t belong to EJ, but wonders who it does belong to. Wendy hangs up and then her father, Wei Shin, storms in to the office asking what the hell is wrong with EJ but finds Wendy at the desk. Wendy greets him and says long time no see.

Nicole questions EJ thinking Stefan drugged him and asks what would make him want to do that. EJ says that is the burning question.

Rafe complains about Eric lying to them and getting Dr. Rolf to sign his statement. Rafe guesses Eric is done pretending to be a saint while Jada comments that this is not the Eric she knows. Rafe says now they can finally get Li, so he guesses in the end it will be alright. Jada encourages turning this into an arrest warrant. Rafe tells her to go for it. Jada hopes it will put a smile on his face, noting that she hasn’t seen that in awhile and she misses it.

Li and Gabi shake hands. Li says he’s thrilled that she took him up on his offer for his DiMera shares but not as thrilled as he is that she signed on for six more months of marriage. Li then asks if married couples really shake hands on deals and suggests they seal it with a kiss.

Sloan sits at home, wondering where Eric went. Sloan decides there’s only one way to find out and calls Eric.

Eric brings Dr. Rolf to his room where Brady has Stefan tied to the bed. Stefan complains that he’s refusing to be Dr. Rolf’s guinea pig again. Eric ignores Sloan’s phone call. Brady tells Dr. Rolf that it’s time to finish what he started. Brady declares that Dr. Rolf made Stefan fall in love with Chloe again, so it’s time to undo it. Dr. Rolf responds that he’s sorry but he can’t help him.

Nicole questions EJ thinking that Stefan is drugging him. EJ responds that he’s quite sure of it. Nicole calls that a serious accusation. EJ believes it solves the mystery of him feeling bad and then slipping up during his interview which doesn’t happen to him. EJ declares that this was the reason.

Wei Shin questions why Wendy is in the DiMera office chair. Wendy explains that she is installing antivirus software on Mr. DiMera’s computer. Wei argues that the only protection they need is from incompetence and asks where EJ is. Wendy responds that he’s obviously not here and she just talked to his son, who saw him at home. Wei complains about EJ going AWOL, just like Li who used to be his eyes and ears until he went off to fall in love.

Gabi tells Li that their deal is strictly business. Li says he had to hold on to hope and shows Gabi that it’s all in writing. Gabi signs the papers and declares this means she’s off the market for the next six months. Li adds that it’s part of the deal that she must wear her wedding ring again. Gabi reluctantly agrees to do it so Li puts the ring back on her finger. Li says now people will see that she’s off the market. Gabi doesn’t care and calls it a marriage made in Hell. Gabi declares that nothing matters to her other than getting her shares. Li says the shares belong to her as long as she remains his wife for six months, otherwise they’ll revert back to him. Li then informs Gabi that all that is left now is for her to pack.

Stefan asks if Brady and Eric are satisfied now, calling it a dumb idea to begin with. Brady questions Dr. Rolf saying there’s nothing he can do when he’s done it twice. Dr. Rolf argues that he had state of the art equipment the first time and then had old equipment then went up in flames the second time. Brady asks if Dr. Rolf is saying that Stefan is going to be in love with two women for the rest of his life. Dr. Rolf argues that he’s not a miracle worker. Brady suggests that he become one.

Sloan leaves Eric a message to ask where he went. Sloan then gets an alert on her phone that Dr. Rolf was freed. Sloan questions how the hell that happened as she storms out of her apartment.

Li tells Gabi that if they are going to stay married, they have to live together. Li says it’s a stipulation in the contract. Gabi remarks that she should’ve read it more carefully. Li explains that they have to be living under the same roof if he’s going to have a chance of winning her over and they can’t be at her place because Rafe wouldn’t tolerate it. Gabi warns that Rafe will kick him out on his ass. Li says he will find a place cozy for them and Arianna. Gabi informs him that Arianna is in New Zealand with Will and Sonny just in time to spare her from having to spend time with him. Li guesses that makes things simple. Li says it shouldn’t take long as he has good connections in local real estate. Gabi notes that Rafe won’t be thrilled when he finds out that she’s dealing with him. Gabi brings up the fallout when it gets out that she has his DiMera shares. Li assures that it’s nothing they can’t handle.

Wei complains that Li and EJ are nowhere to be found while millions are being lost. Wendy points out that she is here and says she’s doing fine. Wei responds that he has more things on his mind than stroking her ego. Wei brings up being in New York when word of the stock slide happened, so he came here immediately but he seems to be the only one who cares because no one in charge is greeting him or explaining what the hell is happening. Wendy repeats that she is here. Wei argues that this is a dire situation and asks where Stefan DiMera is. Wendy responds that he’s not here either.

Jada tells Rafe that the judge should have an arrest warrant for Li very soon and then it’s justice for Stefan and Gabi. Sloan arrives, questioning how dare they set her client free. Rafe questions her being a lawyer who wants her client locked up. Sloan argues that as Dr. Rolf’s legal representative, everything has to go through her so she demands answers as to why Rafe set Dr. Rolf free and who paid his bail. Rafe clarifies that Dr. Rolf isn’t out on bail, he’s out period because he signed his confession which was a key element of the original plea agreement. Rafe says he held up his end of the bargain so they held up their end. Sloan calls that impossible as Dr. Rolf couldn’t have signed it. Rafe asks Jada to get Sloan a copy of it. Sloan says not to bother and goes to pull it out of her purse but realizes it’s gone.

Brady complains that Dr. Rolf is supposed to be a genius with no limits. Dr. Rolf repeats that he’s not a miracle worker. Eric argues that Dr. Rolf brought Stefan back from the dead and asks if that’s not a miracle. Brady adds that Dr. Rolf screwed with Stefan’s affections for women and questions why he can’t do it again. Eric asks if he can’t go any further.

Sloan asks Rafe if he knows how much trouble he’s going to be in for accepting stolen materials and using them in an official capacity. Rafe asks if Jada knows what she’s talking about. Jada argues that it can’t be stolen if the person works for her. Sloan responds that Brady doesn’t work for her. Rafe clarifies that she wasn’t talking about Brady but about her paralegal Eric which shocks Sloan. Rafe remarks on it being an interesting relationship they have going. Sloan complains about them treating this like a joke and warns that when she’s done, they won’t be laughing. Sloan then storms out of the police station. Rafe and Jada joke about Sloan being mad.

Eric brings Dr. Rolf downstairs to the Brady Pub to search through equipment for him to use. Dr. Rolf says he saw through their pathetic attempt to appeal to his ego but says this will most likely work. Eric insists that this has to succeed. Dr. Rolf gathers a box of items including a fire extingusiher and then orders clam chowder from Eric as well.

Stefan tells Brady that this is kidnapping and assault. Brady says Stefan can turn him in after, but he’ll be thanking him along with Gabi. Brady knows it feels like he’s the villain but insists that he will be the hero. Stefan calls Brady a selfish son of a bitch who will stop at nothing to get him out of Chloe’s life. Brady assures that Stefan will realize it’s what he wanted all along and he just doesn’t know it yet.

Nicole questions EJ about Stefan drugging him to hurt the company when it’s his livelihood too. Nicole asks why he would do that and how he would get away with it. EJ recalls Stefan offering him coffee this morning, saying he needed caffeine before the interview. EJ remembers feeling fine until it was time for the interview. EJ declares that Stefan set him up to look like a fool. Nicole thought they were fine and that Stefan forgave EJ for staying quiet about what Li and Kristen did to him. EJ guesses that Stefan didn’t actually forgive him and now wants revenge.

Wendy tells Wei that it’s not usually like this. Wei is unsure because of the recent state of affairs. Wei acknowledges that he didn’t greet Wendy properly and ask how she’s doing, but insists that he does care. Wei says that all has to wait until he deals with this and says it all started with Li’s unfortunate obsession with Gabi. Wendy points out that Gabi is actually okay as they have bonded and become friends. Wei remarks that she never did choose her friends wisely. Wei says he’s going to tell Li exactly how disappointingly that he has failed him as he then exits the office. Wendy decides that she is going to warn Li first that their father is on the warpath as she then exits the office.

Gabi says that Li must have thought this through and worked out all the angles. Li calls Gabi his x-factor and says they are always better when they team up which is why he can’t let her go without a fight. Gabi tells him to go find them somewhere to live as she then exits his hotel room.

Nicole tells EJ that he’s talking about a lot of if’s. EJ then remembers the mimosas and how it was the day after Stefan forgave him. EJ talks about Stefan making the mimosas and then leaving, so he and Nicole shared them instead. Nicole says it’s all coming back to her now and realizes that she had the spiked mimosa. Nicole realizes why it hit her like a ton of a bricks and that she can hold her liquor. Nicole declares that Stefan drugged them both.

Stefan tells Brady that they went over in the park that he decides who he loves, not Dr. Rolf and his equipment. Brady talks about trying to put Stefan back together the way he was. Stefan mocks Brady’s relationship history and says he’s been in love with more women than anyone can count. Stefan asks what about what he wants and if he doesn’t get a say. Brady tells Stefan that he can do whatever he wants after this but says he is going to be with Chloe and to Hell with what Stefan wants.

Eric tells Dr. Rolf that he will have his clam chowder after he does his duty. They prepare to head back upstairs when Sloan bursts in to the Pub and calls Eric a son of a bitch.

Rafe tells Jada that there was no doubt before but Sloan was right that Eric stole the confession and brought it here for Dr. Rolf to sign. Jada points out that Sloan initially suspected Brady did it. Rafe talks about Brady being crazy about Chloe. Jada adds that he’s been fighting Stefan for her. They agree that Sloan was right about the fact that Eric broke the law. Rafe states that it was impersonation and interfering with a police investigation, so they might have to get a second warrant. Jada answers a phone call and tells Rafe that Eric will have to wait because the warrant for Li is ready. Rafe decides they will go pay him a visit and exits the station.

Gabi finds Wendy in the town square. Wendy informs Gabi that she’s on her way to Li’s room because their father is in town, looking for someone to take his anger out on, and Li is an easy target.

Li happily talks on the phone about a place to live until his father Wei shows up at his door and he hangs up. Wei complains about Li’s misadventures with Stefan and how the stock took a dive due to EJ’s stupidity and indiscretion. Wei says that with Li out at DiMera, he has no one inside to do damage control. Li calls it a temporary problem and assures that he could be back in the company very soon which Wei questions. Li explains that Dr. Rolf’s confession would give the authorities what they need to come after him, but he has an insurance policy in a great lawyer keeping that from happening so it’s no longer an issue. Li assures that Wei’s worries are unfounded as everything is coming together and he’s even getting things back on track with Gabi. Wei thought she washed her hands of him after the brainwashing. Li reveals that they made a deal, giving him six months of marriage to make her love him again. Wei questions how much this deal is costing him. Li says he knew how to reel her in and reveals that he just signed his DiMera shares away. Wei responds by slapping Li.

Eric tells Sloan that they are busy. Sloan tells Dr. Rolf that Eric can’t be trusted after stealing documents from her. Dr. Rolf argues that Sloan is the one who can’t be trusted and accuses her of never really representing him. Sloan tells him not to be ridiculous and asks if Eric has gotten in to his head. Dr. Rolf says Sloan just served her purpose but now she’s fired. Dr. Rolf then heads back upstairs. Sloan asks Eric how much trouble this puts him in. Eric responds that this doesn’t have to be ugly and that he’s only helping Brady because she refused.

Dr. Rolf returns to Eric’s room with the box full of equipment from the Brady Pub kitchen. Brady questions Dr. Rolf planning on reviving Stefan’s brain with this junk. Dr. Rolf calls it the tools for a scientific breakthrough as he raises an electric whisk mixer.

Nicole calls Stefan a bastard and a dirtbag. EJ gets her anger but points out that she wasn’t Stefan’s target and was just collateral damage. Nicole declares that she will show Stefan collateral damage he’ll never forget. Nicole states that Stefan needs to own up to both of them and wants to go find him but EJ says not so fast.

Wendy tries calling Li but he’s not answering. Gabi guesses Wei got to him before she did. Wendy notes that Wei does not give up easily. Gabi remarks that it must be where Li gets it from. Wendy asks what she means. Wendy then brings up Li and Gabi spending part of Valentine’s Day together and he was feeling quite hopeful afterwards. Wendy asks if he was being too confident. Gabi doesn’t know if this answers her question but reveals that she is not divorcing Li for another six months, surprising Wendy.

Wei questions Li giving up his DiMera Shares when they have incredible power and voting power in order to stay married to a woman that hates him. Li argues that it’s about winning Gabi back and that if they stay married, what’s her’s is his including the shares so he knows what he’s doing. Wei remarks that Li was always overly confident and not very smart. Wei then gets a notification about Dr. Rolf’s release and questions if Li knows what he’s doing.

Sloan questions Eric about digging in to her files to help Brady and betray her. Eric calls that funny because he would say Sloan betrayed Dr. Rolf to protect Li Shin. Sloan says that’s not the point and warns that Eric won’t get away with this. Eric comments that it sounds like a confession and a threat. Eric warns Sloan to be careful if she enjoys having a law license.

Dr. Rolf begins plugging things in while Stefan questions if Brady is really going to let him hook him up with this. Stefan asks what if he fries his brain. Brady thinks they need to trust Dr. Rolf. Stefan complains that these are less than ideal circumstances and brings up his father, Stefano and how he would react to this. Brady argues that Stefan will say anything to stop this but Dr. Rolf needs to fix him. Brady encourages Dr. Rolf to finish the extraordinary work that he started.

Nicole thought EJ wanted to get back at Stefan. EJ assures that he does but not without proof that he’s the one who drugged them. EJ says they have a solid theory but they need to get the vial analyzed to get their confirmation. Nicole asks if they will go after him afterwards. EJ says not yet because they don’t need Stefan to know they are onto him. EJ promises that when he makes his move, Stefan will not see him coming.

Wendy questions if Gabi agreed to the deal only for the shares or if Li actually has a shot with her and what about Stefan. Gabi asks about all the questions. Gabi admits she doesn’t know as a month ago she would’ve said Li burnt all his bridges. Wendy comments that it seems not to be the case. Gabi tells Wendy that Li keeps on showing her that he loves her and only her with all his heart, unlike Stefan. Gabi decides maybe Li is right that they are kindred spirits.

Li tries calling Sloan but it goes to voicemail. Li questions what is going on since Sloan said she had this all under control. Rafe and Jada then show up at the door. Rafe announces it is his great pleasure to once again arrest Li for what he did to Stefan, but this time it’s for keeps.

Stefan begs Dr. Rolf to stop this. Dr. Rolf says he’s sorry but he thinks Stefano would want him put back the way he was. Brady says they are back on track and asks how he can help. Dr. Rolf asks Brady for pictures of Chloe and instructs him to connect his phone to the projector which he does and then displays his photos of Chloe. Brady orders Dr. Rolf to do it now as Dr. Rolf goes to put the grip on Stefan.

Eric tells Sloan that he knows conflict of interest can land her in serious trouble so it seems they are at a standoff where they can both hurt each other. Sloan declares that Eric is only hurting himself because they are through. Sloan remarks that maybe he can crawl back to Nicole, but then says Nicole is already screwing EJ. Sloan calls him a bastard and walks out of the Pub.

Nicole says that EJ said Stefan will never see him coming but it’s never seeing them coming. EJ agrees that two can play at this game.

Days of Our Lives Update

EJ and Nicole finish having sex. Nicole comments on EJ having a lot of energy for not feeling well earlier. EJ says that’s thanks to her as they kiss. EJ assures that he’s feeling better than he did earlier as when he gave that interview earlier, he felt in a complete fog, like he had lost his filter and blurting out whatever came to mind. EJ is glad he’s gotten over that. Nicole asks if there’s something he’s not telling her. EJ admits there is and it’s about Eric.

Rafe questions Eric wanting to see Dr. Rolf and says that’s too damn bad. Eric tells Rafe to put his dislike for him aside for once and argues that Dr. Rolf is allowed visitors like any other prisoner, so he can’t deny him access for no reason. Jada points out that Rafe is the police commissioner so he doesn’t need a reason and what he says goes. Rafe admits that now Eric has him curious as to why he’s so damn eager to see Dr. Rolf.

Stefan questions Brady saying that Chloe is not coming. Brady reveals that he sent Stefan the text about meeting in the park.

Gabi asks Li what the catch is to signing over his DiMera shares to her. Li assures there is no catch and just his Valentine’s Day gift to her. Li adds that after everything he did to her, it’s the least he can do to show her how serious he is about atoning for his sins. Gabi knows how much the shares are worth and how much money means to him. Li says not as much as she does.

Johnny and Wendy inspect the vial that Johnny found on the floor of the DiMera Enterprises Office. Johnny wonders if it’s some kind of drug. Wendy points out there is no label, so she guesses it’s an illegal one. Johnny asks if she’s aware of any projects but Wendy says not one and suggests he just put the vial back where he found it. Johnny says he can’t do that since this is his family company and DiMera has a no tolerance policy on drug use, so if someone is using then they need help. Wendy suggests not jumping to conclusions and sending it to a lab to have it analyzed. Johnny questions what they would say then. Johnny declares that they have to find out without anyone else knowing. Wendy questions investigating it by themselves. Johnny points out that they have before. Wendy feels it will be really hard to figure out who left it since people are in and out of the office all day. Johnny can’t imagine something like that was just laying around unnoticed for long and asks if anyone was in the office when she came in. Wendy says it was just Stefan.

Stefan questions how Brady sent a text from Chloe’s phone. Brady reveals that he used a burner phone to spoof her number. Stefan calls this crazy and questions why Brady had to lure him here. Stefan brings up not speaking to Chloe and asks if she’s okay. Brady says Chloe is fine physically but emotionally not so much because of Stefan. Brady declares that the time has come for Stefan to get Chloe out of his head once and for all.

Eric argues that he doesn’t owe Rafe any explanation. Rafe guesses that Eric blames Dr. Rolf for the virus that led to Marlena’s death but Eric wanting to see a prisoner that he has no relation to makes him think that he has some vigilante justice in mind which is not happening on his watch.

Nicole asks if EJ is seriously lying next to her in bed and thinking about Eric. Nicole jokes that she must have lost her touch. EJ assures that she hasn’t as he kisses her. EJ clarifies that he’s lying next to her while wondering if she is thinking about Eric. EJ reminds her that they said they would take things one step at a time and see where it led, but things heated up quickly after they ran in to Eric and Sloan on Valentine’s Day. EJ wonders if Nicole would still be in his bed right now if that hadn’t happened.

Li tells Gabi to just take his shares. Gabi questions believing that he wants nothing from her in return. Li admits that maybe there is one small thing.

Nicole asks EJ where this is coming from since it’s not like they just fell in to bed out of nowhere. Nicole adds that they would’ve been there sooner if EJ didn’t put the brakes on. EJ says that was because she was drunk but she was blinded with rage over Eric and Sloan’s relationship, just like yesterday. EJ sees it as a common thread. Nicole supposes he’s right that if Eric hadn’t jumped in to Sloan’s bed, then she probably wouldn’t be in EJ’s bed right now.

Eric questions if Rafe isn’t going to let him see Dr. Rolf because of his personal grievances against him. Rafe repeats that he has reasons to have concerns about Eric seeing Dr. Rolf. Eric argues that Rafe is on a power trip but Rafe says he’s doing his job. Rafe declares that the only person he’s required to let see Dr. Rolf is his attorney which he is not. Eric then responds that he’s not Rolf’s attorney, but he works for her.

Stefan tells Brady that his feelings for Chloe are none of his business. Brady responds that they are because Chloe fled town because of him. Brady says Chloe was shaken when Stefan claimed to love Chloe and Gabi. Brady argues that if Stefan truly loves Chloe, he will let her go. Stefan asks if it’s just so Brady can have her. Brady says it’s about not squandering any more time on this but admits it’s also about not screwing things up for he and Chloe, or Stefan.

Gabi calls it a load of crap that Li said there was no catch but now says he wants one small thing. Li supposes it is a catch. Gabi questions what the hell the small thing is. Li asks Gabi to stay married to him.

Wendy asks Johnny if he thinks the vial could belong to Stefan. Johnny notes that Stefan has been a hot mess since Dr. Rolf messed with his brain. Wendy wonders if the vial could belong to Dr. Rolf. Johnny points out that Dr. Rolf is in jail now and Stefan wants nothing to do with him. Johnny says Stefan’s personal life may be a dumpster fire, but he’s been on top of things as CEO at DiMera. Johnny then brings up EJ not feeling well and being so distracted at work, causing the stock price to plummet. Johnny then wonders if it’s possible that EJ could be using drugs.

Nicole worries that she’s upset EJ. EJ admits it doesn’t do much for his ego, knowing that she only moved on with him because she saw Eric move on with Sloan. Nicole assures that’s not the only reason and jokes that if she really wanted to hurt Eric with revenge sex, she would’ve slept with Eric’s brother instead. EJ laughs at how that’s supposed to make him feel better. Nicole explains that she and Brady have a past too, so if she really wanted to inflict maximum damage on Eric then she would be in Brady’s bed. EJ says it sounds like she could be if she wanted to. Nicole says that’s not what she means and she couldn’t be with Brady now even if she wanted to, which she does not. Nicole adds that Brady is in love with her best friend, so she really does hope that Brady and Chloe get to be together and get Stefan out of the picture, so they can finally be happy. Nicole then kisses EJ.

Stefan tells Brady that he’s not the only one confused about his feelings, reminding Brady of how he broke Chloe’s heart with Kristen. Brady argues that he had no choice. Stefan argues that maybe that’s why Chloe left town and that it had nothing to do with him and everything to do with Brady. Brady disagrees, insisting it has everything to do with Stefan. Brady says Stefan’s insanity has made Chloe and Gabi miserable. Stefan argues that this is about Brady being miserable. Brady questions if Stefan really wants to string two women along. Stefan argues that he isn’t since he was completely honest with them. Brady calls Stefan a shallow man who is having trouble deciding which woman he loves more. Brady tells Stefan that Chloe never would have given him a second look if he wasn’t forced to break up with her. Brady declares that Chloe loves him and their relationship was the best that either of them ever had, like Stefan and Gabi’s. Brady knows Stefan loves Gabi, but thinks Gabi is too smart to be hanging on to a guy who loves another woman. Stefan insists that Gabi is going to wait because he is the one true love of her life. Brady warns Stefan that if he keeps this up, he’s going to be the biggest mistake of Gabi’s life, which Brady thinks he already is.

Gabi questions Li saying it was something small and complains that she’s not going to stay married to him after what he did to her and Stefan. Gabi refuses to accept his lousy bribe and says she won’t give up her soul for DiMera shares and a vote on the board because nothing is worth that. Li asks her to hear him out. Gabi questions why he would want to stay in a loveless marriage anyway. Li argues that it’s not loveless because he loves her. Li asks if Gabi didn’t love him when she married him. Gabi clarifies that she loved the man that she thought he was. Li argues that Gabi deserves the DiMera shares and she also deserves a man who loves her and only her. Gabi refuses to discuss this with him. Li points out that she was eager to last night after Stefan called her Chloe and she came running to him to remind herself what it feels like to be truly wanted and cherished. Gabi says she came to talk about their divorce. Li asks why she stayed for dinner then. Gabi tells him to stop blaming Stefan for something that isn’t his fault because after Dr. Rolf is done with him, he’s going to forget all about Chloe. Li asks if she’s sure about that. Li argues that all Dr. Rolf did was reinforce feelings that Stefan already had for Chloe. Li reminds her that Stefan was with Chloe before her. Gabi tells him to stop trying to convince her that Stefan doesn’t love her. Li acknowledges that Stefan does love her, but he loves her more. Gabi argues that he doesn’t know the meaning of love. Li wants to prove to her that he does. Gabi calls that impossible. Li asks Gabi for six months to change her mind about divorcing him.

Rafe asks Eric what the hell he’s talking about. Eric claims that Sloan hired him as a paralegal. Rafe laughs at that and questions his qualifications. Eric says it required a broad skillset. Jada asks when Eric started working with Sloan. Eric says he needed a job after quitting Basic Black and adds that he and Sloan have gotten close. Eric claims the file he has is what he needs Dr. Rolf to look over. Rafe asks to take a look but Eric says he can’t as that would be in violation from his attorney. Eric tells Rafe that he would like to see Dr. Rolf now as his legal representation. Jada warns Rafe that if he denies him, Sloan could have the whole case thrown out and asks if he really wants to take that chance. Eric asks Rafe what it’s going to be. Rafe then brings Eric to the interrogation room to meet with Dr. Rolf and tells him that he has 20 minutes.

Gabi calls Li a disgusting creep and asks if he’s crazy. Li asks her to let him finish his request before she turns him down. Li encourages that his shares can get her foot in at DiMera to get rid of EJ, especially after his recent slip ups. Li argues that the company needs Gabi and he knows she wants to be back in charge at DiMera. Gabi points out that Stefan is already co-CEO, so once they get back together, they will run DiMera and won’t need Li’s shares. Li remarks that is unless Stefan wants to run it with Chloe. Li apologizes and says if Gabi does end up with Stefan, she’d still be in a much better position to run the company with another board vote in her pocket. Li asks Gabi for six months and if after that, she’s still determined to get a divorce, she can keep the shares, get rid of him, and she’ll be free and clear. Li asks if that’s not an offer she can’t refuse.

Brady warns Stefan that Gabi is the least patient person on the planet, so he doesn’t think she will put up with this kind of behavior much longer. Brady asks what woman would. Brady knows Stefan doesn’t want to lose Gabi after everything they’ve been through. Stefan admits that but says he doesn’t want to lose Chloe either. Stefan says he can’t just forget his feelings for Chloe and even if he wanted Dr. Rolf to finish deprogramming him, Rolf is in jail so there’s nothing he can do. Brady tells him not to worry about that because he’s working on that as they speak.

Eric presents Dr. Rolf with the statement he wrote and says he’s still sitting here because he didn’t sign it. Rolf responds that his lawyer advised him not to because she said it would be a terrible mistake since Kristen and Li would come after him. Eric reminds him that Kristen is in prison and he believes his attorney gave him some truly lousy advice. Dr. Rolf questions what he knows about it and how he got his statement. Eric knows Dr. Rolf did his best to save Marlena with the Orchid, so he wants to do something for him in return. Eric reveals that he believes his attorney is also working for Li Shin which means a major conflict of interest and the reason she didn’t want him to sign the statement is because Li would be screwed. Dr. Rolf states that he needs to speak with Sloan. Eric asks if he thinks she’s going to tell him the truth if she’s taking her orders from Li. Eric adds that Melinda had already signed off on his plea deal before he changed his mind which Rolf notes that no one ever told him. Eric tells Dr. Rolf that if he signs the statement, he can have him released immediately.

Wendy asks Johnny if he really thinks EJ might be doing drugs. Johnny says he never seems to have any kind of problem, but he did used to sell drugs years ago which surprises Wendy. Johnny explains that EJ got mixed up with Clyde Weston, who was really bad news. Wendy recognizes Clyde’s name as the man who killed Abigail. Wendy asks if EJ wasn’t a dealer but more of a kingpin. Johnny doesn’t know as he was just a kid and he doesn’t think EJ would ever use, but he doesn’t know for sure. Johnny acknowledges that EJ’s been going through a hard time lately with Sami and Belle, then losing his mother, which could explain some of the behavior he’s been displaying. Wendy asks what he’s going to do. Johnny responds that he’s going to ask him. Wendy questions if he thinks EJ will just tell him the truth point blank. Johnny admits he doesn’t know but declares he’s going to find out one way or another. Johnny tells Wendy to keep this to herself for now and thanks her as he then exits the office.

EJ tells Nicole that he’s not rooting for Brady and Chloe to get back together because that would free up Stefan and Gabi to resume their lives together, which would be an utter disaster for him and DiMera. Nicole feels EJ can handle it as he has before. Nicole thinks Brady and Chloe are destiny. EJ questions if she means like herself and Eric. Nicole admits she used to think that, but the truth is, she thinks her and EJ are more compatible than her and Eric. Nicole points out that EJ accepts her for who she is and doesn’t make her feel guilty. Nicole adds that she’s obviously extremely attracted to him as they kiss. EJ says that what gives him pause is they said they would see where things led and under normal circumstances, casual sex is fine by him, but he doesn’t think that works for them anymore because of their history. EJ says there are feelings that are being reawakened, so if she wants a little fling with no strings then it’s probably best they put an end to this now. Nicole asks if he’s ending things with her. EJ says no and explains that for him, it just can’t be a fling. Nicole agrees that there are feelings because of their history. Nicole suggests they enjoy the ride and see where things go. EJ likes that idea as they continue kissing until they are interrupted by a knock at the door. They quickly get up and put their robes on as EJ answers he door to see Johnny. Johnny sees Nicole and apologizes, saying he’ll come back later but Nicole says it’s okay and he can come in. EJ notes that Johnny seems upset and asks what’s wrong. Johnny then presents the vial and asks if it’s his.

Rafe is on the phone at the police station, arguing that they can’t be serious in telling him to release Dr. Rolf. Rafe says he’ll call back as Eric comes out from the interrogation room. Rafe asks what the hell Eric did as Jada asks what’s going on. Rafe questions Eric getting Dr. Rolf to sign the statement that he’s been refusing to sign which his attorney talked him out of signing. Eric tells Rafe that he’s welcome. Rafe realizes Eric lied to them about working for Sloan and questions what the hell he’s up to.

Stefan questions Brady saying he’s working on it. Stefan reminds him that the last time Dr. Rolf tried to put him back how he was, his equipment malfunctioned and he could feel his brain frying so he was almost a dead man again. Stefan has no intention of repeating that experience. Brady argues that he can’t continue to go on this way. Stefan insists that his feelings for Chloe are real, so he intends to work through them naturally. Brady asks how he plans to do that when Chloe is not even in town. Brady questions his interest in keeping her pinned to him. Stefan says he could ask Brady the same thing because they wouldn’t be in this situation if Brady hadn’t dumped Chloe for Kristen. Stefan tells Brady that whatever his plan is with Dr. Rolf to screw with his mind again, he can forget about it. Stefan says goodbye to Brady and goes to walk away but Brady grabs him from behind in a chokehold and chokes Stefan out.

EJ questions where Johnny found the vial. Johnny says it was on the floor at his office and asks if it’s his. EJ says no and asks what it is. Johnny assumes it’s an illicit substance and says he had to ask after everything that happened at the press conference this morning. Johnny says EJ was off the rails and he knows EJ is going through a hard time after Susan’s death. EJ argues that doesn’t mean he resorted to taking drugs. Nicole points out that Johnny is just worried about him. EJ takes a look at the vial and calls it very strange. EJ knows the terrible harm that drugs can do and he may be far from perfect but he’s noy a hypocrite on this. EJ assures that he’s not using drugs, never has, and never will. Johnny says that’s good and hopes EJ isn’t upset with him for asking. EJ says he did the right thing and he’s glad that Johnny felt he could come to him and ask. EJ insists that he’s telling the truth. Johnny calls it a huge relief.

Brady tells Stefan that he’s sorry as he wanted to do this the easy way, but he’s one stubborn S.O.B. Brady then drags Stefan’s unconscious body away.

Gabi tells Li that she doesn’t trust him and the deal sounds too good to be true, so it’s going to be a hard no from her. Li warns Gabi that his attorney said he could drag this divorce out for years. Gabi thought he wasn’t going to contest it. Li says he won’t go back on his word but there are delicate financial matters in dissolving their marriage which need to be sorted and clarified. Li adds that he could make this last a lot longer than six months, so she has nothing to lose with his proposal unless she’s afraid of opening herself up to him again. Gabi tells Li that there’s nothing he can say or do to keep her in this marriage. Li says then in six months, she’ll be single and rich, and if Dr. Rolf helps Stefan get over Chloe by then, they can live happily ever after.

Rafe frees Dr. Rolf from his handcuffs. Eric tells Rafe that it was a pleasure doing business with him. Eric escorts Dr. Rolf to the door. Rolf says now he will get back to his laboratory but Eric says not so fast. Rafe tells Jada that he can’t believe how Eric came in and lied to them like that. Jada assumes Eric must have had good reason. Rafe questions why she would assume that. Jada knows Rafe hates Eric and says he’s not her favorite person either but they made their peace, so she recommends Rafe do the same. Jada advises Rafe to not let Eric get under his skin but Rafe says it’s too late. Jada says that Eric delivered on getting Dr. Rolf out of jail, so he can deprogram Stefan which is what Gabi has been begging for and now they have hard evidence against Li Shin. Rafe agrees and declares that they should get Li in custody before he can hurt Gabi again.

Li tells Gabi that she has to admit it’s a sweet deal and she’s too good of a business woman to turn it down. Gabi responds that she won’t walk away and agrees to take the deal. Li assures that she won’t regret it. Gabi wants it in writing. Li says six months, the shares, and divorce is all right here but for now he suggests they seal the deal with a handshake which Gabi accepts.

Johnny calls Wendy and informs her that EJ said the vial wasn’t his. Wendy asks if he believed him. Johnny admits that EJ is a first class liar but he is pretty good at reading him and he seemed shocked and genuinely upset that he would even think he was using, so he believes him.

Nicole asks EJ about Johnny finding the vial in the office that EJ shares with Stefan. Nicole asks if EJ thinks Stefan could be taking drugs. EJ then says or else Stefan is drugging him.

Stefan wakes up tied to a bed with Brady at his side. Stefan questions where the hell he is. Brady reveals that he’s in Eric’s room above the Pub and that it wasn’t fun carrying him up the stairs either. Stefan asks what he’s doing here. Brady responds that all his questions are about to be answered as Eric then arrives with Dr. Rolf.

Wendy goes to Li’s hotel room at the Salem Inn and says she just wanted to check on him again as she felt bad about not sticking around when he was bummed about Gabi turning down his Valentine’s Day dinner. Li then reveals that he and Gabi actually ended up having dinner together after all, surprising Wendy.

Gabi meets with Rafe in his office at the police station. Rafe questions Gabi being okay with Arianna moving 8000 miles away to New Zealand. Gabi says it was Arianna’s decision and admits she doesn’t love it, but Arianna will be with her dads and she will come visit when she can. Gabi decides that’s what is best for Arianna and changes the subject back to Dr. Rolf. Gabi adds that the desk sergeant needs to know that she doesn’t need an appointment to see her own brother. Rafe argues that she can’t just storm in and make demands. Rafe informs Gabi that Dr. Rolf did not sign his statement. Gabi thought Melinda was going to put the screws to him. Rafe explains that she tried but his lawyer said not to sign the statement, so he didn’t. Rafe assures that if there was anything else he could do, he’d be doing it. Rafe changes the subject by asking about Gabi’s Valentine’s Day date with Stefan last night. Gabi says next question. Rafe is confused since she was walking on air after Stefan called her. Gabi responds that she ended up flat on her back but not in a good way.

Brady goes to Sloan’s apartment and knocks on her door, saying he’d like to talk to her and asks her to open up. Eric then answers the door without a shirt on, surprising Brady.

Nicole returns home to the DiMera Mansion, saying she doesn’t know why she bothered going in to the office on a day like today. Nicole heads in to the living room and finds Johnny sitting inside, so she asks if he’s okay. Johnny responds that he’s not really after three funerals. Johnny mentions that DiMera stock dropped 20 points today because some sensitive information was leaked thanks to EJ.

At the DiMera Enterprises offices, Stefan questions EJ about going public that they were going to buy a company before it was locked in. EJ acknowledges that he was talking and before he knew what he was doing, he was telling the information. Stefan argues that EJ knew this deal required discretion but now it’s in every business section out there. Stefan questions what EJ was thinking. EJ responds that he honestly has no idea why he said what he said. Stefan flashes back to earlier this morning, where Stefan drugged EJ’s coffee. EJ tells Stefan that he’s so sorry for screwing up and he’s mortified. Stefan tells EJ that their focus now is damage control. EJ still doesn’t understand how he could have let this happen…

Nicole questions Johnny about EJ revealing sensitive information on television when he had to have known how it would affect the stock price. Johnny wonders if it was some kind of strategy. Nicole says it’s not one she’s familiar with. Johnny can’t believe EJ of all people would just blurt that out by mistake. Nicole agrees and notes that last night, EJ said he wasn’t feeling great so she hopes he’s not coming down with something. Johnny wonders if it’s possible EJ didn’t get enough sleep, revealing that he saw Nicole coming out of EJ’s room this morning.

Brady questions Eric slithering off to Sloan’s after the funeral. Eric says he needed to decompress and asks why Brady is here. Brady responds that he needed to talk to Sloan. Sloan then comes out from the back and asks what Brady needs to talk about. Brady brings up Sloan representing Dr. Rolf and says he needs him out of jail and he needs her to get him to sign the statement that says the person responsible for his crimes was Li Shin.

Wendy questions Li having dinner with Gabi as she thought Gabi gave him a hard no. Li responds that she did, but later on, she showed up and accepted his invitation. Wendy asks what changed her mind. Li reveals that her Valentine’s celebration with Stefan went awry after Stefan called her Chloe. Wendy mentions hearing about that when she went to the DiMera Mansion with Johnny to watch a movie and they saw Stefan trying to wipe a stain out of his shirt from Gabi throwing red wine on him before she stormed out. Li is happy that Stefan must have been pretty upset. Wendy points out that Stefan planned an amazing night for them and it got broken up before it got even started. Wendy comments on Li not being broken up about it and points out that he is the reason that Stefan’s plans were a bust.

EJ tells Stefan that he’s right that what’s done is done and now he has to figure out what to do about it. Stefan reminds him that they are in this together. EJ says he made the mess so he has to clean it up and Stefan has every right to be furious. Stefan claims he’s not furious and says if he came off harsh, it was only because he was surprised. Stefan says he’s past it now and ready to move on with his brother to correct course. EJ thanks Stefan for having his back. EJ asks where to start. Stefan suggests EJ talk with public relations on how to spin this and then they will figure out how to move forward. EJ thanks him again and says he can’t tell him how much he appreciates his support. EJ then exits the office. Stefan mutters that EJ will always have his support as long as it involves himself becoming sole CEO of the company. Stefan declares that with a few more doses, EJ will be out on his pompous, disloyal ass. Stefan prepares to drug another drink when Jada walks in to the office.

Wendy questions Li about why Gabi accepted his invitation and what changed her mind. Li responds that Stefan’s brain isn’t functioning properly which he laughs about. Li says that he and Gabi had a wonderful time and it was almost like old times. Wendy brings up Li having Dr. Rolf manipulate Stefan’s mind and reminds him that Stefan isn’t repulsed by Gabi anymore. Li acknowledges that Stefan loves Gabi again but he also loves Chloe. Li states that Gabi stayed because she was pleasantly surprised by him and he thinks she enjoyed being in the company of a man who only has eyes for her. Wendy guesses that’s possible but reminds Li that this is only temporary and that when Dr. Rolf finishes fixing Stefan, Gabi’s going to forget all about Li. Wendy worries that Li is setting himself up for heartbreak. Li responds that Gabi is worth the risk. Li decides that’s enough about him and asks about Wendy’s date with Johnny. Li jokingly asks if they got to enjoy the movie or if they spent the night consoling Stefan.

Stefan hides his vial and asks Jada what he can do for her. Jada responds that she’s here to ask him about his recent assault where he was knocked out, dragged into a basement, and forced to undergo a medical procedure because they are building a case, so she wants to know if he wants to testify against Gabi. Stefan responds that he’s afraid he can’t do that because he’s in love with her. Jada points out that Gabi did have an accomplice in Dr. Rolf. Stefan admits he has mixed feelings towards Dr. Rolf Stefan notes that since he’s been back alive, Dr. Rolf seems to be a bit confused as to where his loyalty lies. Jada asks if Stefan is willing to testify against Dr. Rolf. Jada adds that it would go a long way to putting Dr. Rolf back in prison where he belongs. Stefan agrees to take it under advisement. Jada warns him not to take too long as she exits the office.

Rafe tells Gabi that he’s sorry that her evening with Stefan didn’t end up the way she hoped. Gabi tells him that he should be because it’s his fault for encouraging her to have faith and be positive. Gabi explains that it started out perfectly, things started to heat up, and then Stefan called her Chloe.

Nicole questions Johnny seeing her coming out of EJ’s room. Johnny says he’s sorry as it’s none of his business. Nicole tells him that it’s fine as it was only a matter of time before he found out. Nicole brings up that she and EJ were married before and now that she’s moved in, they have been closer which is all she’s going to say. Johnny jokes that he’s got it figured out.

Sloan tells Brady that she is representing Dr. Rolf to the best of her abilities but there’s not much she can do right now since he is being held without bail. Brady explains that is why he needs him to sign the statement that implicates Li because then he will be free. Eric questions Brady suddenly being so concerned about Dr. Rolf. Brady reminds Eric about Stefan’s deprogramming and says that Chloe freaked out and ran off after finding out that Stefan was in love with her and Gabi. Brady tells Eric that Chloe left town. Eric realizes that’s why he didn’t see her at the funerals and asks if she’s okay. Brady tells him that Nicole said she was, but he doesn’t know since Chloe won’t see him and is completely overwhelmed. Eric questions Chloe leaving town over Stefan’s feelings. Brady says it’s his feelings too. Eric brings up that Dr. Rolf had started the deprogramming as Brady says this is why he needs him to finish the job, so Chloe can come back to him and everything will be fine. Brady repeats that he needs Sloan to convince her client to flip on Li. Sloan responds that she’s sorry but the answer is no.

Nicole asks Johnny about the rest of his night with Wendy. Johnny says it was pretty good and how they got the dinner that Stefan planned for Gabi, so he thinks Wendy had a nice time. Nicole questions him not being sure. Johnny talks about how things in the beginning were so easy and now it’s gotten complicated. Johnny says he’s just trying to convince Wendy that he’s not still hung up on his ex wife.

Wendy tells Li that she and Johnny talked to Stefan for awhile and then he excused himself, so their date went pretty well. Wendy talks about watching Evil Dead 2 and Stefan letting them have his dinner. Li jokes that everybody wins. Wendy decides she should go. Li asks if she has another date with Johnny. Wendy reminds him that she has a job so she should get back to the office. Li brings up seeing that DiMera stock took a nosedive earlier and remarks that things have been going downhill there since he was fired. Wendy then exits the hotel.

Brady questions Sloan saying no, reminding her that Dr. Rolf is sitting in a jail cell and if he signs the statement, he’ll go free. Sloan feels signing it is not in his best interest. Brady questions why the hell not since Melinda made him a deal. Brady asks if she heard what he said about Chloe. Sloan says she can’t base her defense strategy on his love life. Brady repeats that her client would walk. Sloan questions if he’s a lawyer. Brady reminds her that Dr. Rolf was offered freedom. Sloan talks about Melinda loves to pull a bait and switch, so she’s not going to fall for one of her tricks. Brady argues that Melinda just wants the bigger fish and in this case, that’s Li Shin. Sloan says maybe, but that doesn’t mean Dr. Rolf will skate as there are other angles to consider. Sloan then gets a text from Li, saying he needs to see her ASAP. Sloan informs Brady and Eric that she has to go see a client.

Rafe questions Gabi walking out on Stefan because he called her Chloe and then going to see Li Shin. Gabi argues that she didn’t have any other plans. Rafe reminds Gabi that Li asked her to marry him after brainwashing her husband. Gabi points out that technically, Li is her husband. Rafe reminds her that she said not to bring that up and then she went to see him. Gabi complains that she was humiliated by Stefan calling her Chloe, so she wanted someone to make her feel better. Rafe argues that she could have turned to family or a friend instead of Li. Rafe reminds her that Gabi said she wanted nothing to do with Li. Gabi acknowledges that Li hurt her, but complains that he would never have called her another woman’s name. Gabi points out that Li wants her and nobody else. Rafe brings up the lengths that Li has gone to make her feel that way. Rafe understands that Gabi is going through a rough patch right now but she cannot go back to Li Shin. Gabi tells him that she just didn’t want to spend Valentine’s Day alone like Rafe. Rafe then reveals that he wasn’t alone as he was with Jada.

Afetr Jada leaves, Stefan goes back to drugging EJ’s coffee. EJ returns to the office and tells Stefan that public relations has begun spinning. Stefan offers EJ the coffee and says they will start strategizing. EJ is not sure he’s up for this. Stefan encourages that EJ can’t let one mistake ruin his confidence. Stefan tells EJ to drink the coffee but EJ decides that he will go home and clear his head, hoping to have a fresh start tomorrow. Stefan reluctantly agrees as EJ exits. Stefan complains about EJ not drinking the coffee and asks how he is supposed to get the Board to throw EJ out if he won’t take the drug. Stefan throws the now empty vial agaisnt the wall in frustration.

Gabi questions Rafe going on a date with Jada. Rafe argues that it wasn’t a date, just two people having a burger and a beer. Gabi questions doing it on Valentine’s Day. Rafe calls it a coincidence. Gabi wants details. Rafe explains that there isn’t much to tell as he just saw Jada at the Pub and offered to join her, deciding it would be better than sitting at home in front of his TV alone. Gabi says that’s great and asks how it went. Rafe says it was fine and they talked. Gabi questions what they talked about. Rafe jokes that he shouldn’t have said anything. Gabi remarks that she’s happy for him because Jada is way better for him than that skank Nicole. Rafe clarifies that Jada is his friend and colleague, but that’s it. Gabi asks if he’s sure about that.

Nicole comments that Johnny had a lovely Valentine’s Day with Wendy, so she’s sure that’s enough to convince her that he’s over Chanel. Johnny gets a DiMera news alert and says it looks like the PR team is doing damage control as they made a statement about considering many acquisitions. Nicole is glad they are on top of it, but insists that what happened still doesn’t make sense. Johnny asks Nicole about EJ not feeling well last night. Nicole says this morning, he seemed fine so she doesn’t understand how he could make a mistake like that. EJ then comes home and says he doesn’t understand it either. Johnny asks how he’s feeling. EJ claims he’s fine and sees the news traveled fast. Nicole says by tomorrow, it will not be a story. Johnny agrees that the whole thing will blow over. Johnny asks if he can get EJ anything but EJ says he’s just going to go upstairs, change his clothes, and try to forget this day ever happened.

Eric tells Brady that he’s sorry as he doesn’t know why Sloan doesn’t want Dr. Rolf to sign the statement. Brady argues that her explanation made no sense which makes him wonder if it’s even true. Eric asks what that’s supposed to mean. Brady asks if he really thinks it’s in Dr. Rolf’s best interest to stay in jail. Eric points out that Sloan is his lawyer, so it’s her job to do what’s best for him. Brady questions why Sloan would even take the job when Dr. Rolf is broke and says it doesn’t make any sense. Eric says she must have some reason. Brady thinks that reason just texted her and that it was from the client that Sloan is actually working for.

Sloan goes to see Li at his hotel room.

Rafe assures Gabi that there’s nothing going on between he and Jada and there can’t be because he is her boss. Gabi argues that it’s so right and they work well together. Rafe says the conversation is over. Gabi asks if Rafe wouldn’t want something between the two of them. Jada then arrives and asks if it’s a bad time. Rafe says he was just telling Gabi that there’s nothing he can do about Dr. Rolf, so she was just leaving. Gabi remarks that she’s happy to leave the two of them alone as she exits the office.

Nicole joins EJ in his bedroom and says she just wanted to see how he was doing. EJ says he keeps going over everything in his head, asking how he could have made such an enormous error and letting crucial information slip as it’s just not him. Nicole encourages that he just had a bad day. EJ thinks it’s more than that as lately he’s been very distracted. EJ points out that the same thing happened on another deal as well. Nicole suggests it having something to do with recently losing his mother. EJ says maybe, or maybe it has to do with Stefan…

Li offers Sloan a drink but she declines. Sloan notes Li’s good mood and asks if that has anything to do with the reason she is here. Li informs her that it’s imperative that she continues to slow down his divorce because he’s pleased to report that he and Gabi took some very positive steps last night. Sloan tells him not to worry and promises that she’s doing everything she can to make sure Li and Gabi remain husband and wife. Sloan adds that nothing changed as far as Dr. Rolf not signing his statement, so she will continue to advise that he shouldn’t. Li tells her to do so in the strongest terms. Sloan asks if that’s all then. Li then informs her that there is something else that he needs her to do for him.

Brady shares his theory with Eric that Sloan is working with Li Shin, pointing out that Li has the most to gain from Dr. Rolf not signing his statement. Eric calls that a huge ethical violation. Brady asks if Sloan really strikes him as an ethical person. Eric argues that it’s all speculation as they have no evidence that Sloan is working for Li. Brady then notices that Sloan left her purse and starts to go through it. Eric questions what he is doing. Brady responds that he’s looking for evidence. Eric complains that he needs to stop because he’s invading Sloan’s privacy. Brady argues that she left her bag wide open. Eric says that’s not an invitation as there could be sensitive documents in there that are meant to be confidential. Brady then finds the statement that Dr. Rolf was about to sign and shows it to Eric, saying that it would put Li away for life. Brady declares that it’s obvious that Sloan is working for Li and keeping Dr. Rolf from signing that. Brady asks Eric if he’s going to help him divide and conquer.

Jada informs Rafe that she went to see Stefan to talk to him about the case against Dr. Rolf. Rafe asks if Stefan agreed to testify. Jada says he agreed to take it under advisement but she will stay on it because anything they have on Dr. Rolf could push him to flip on Li. Rafe assures that he intends to put Li away, whether Gabi likes it or not. Jada thought Gabi would be thrilled to see Li pay for what he did to her. Rafe thought so too but apparently Gabi has backslid when it comes to Li. Jada questions if Gabi is going back to him. Rafe responds that he’s not sure but admits he’s worried about her.

Gabi goes to see Li at his hotel room and asks what was so important that she had to come over. Li shows her that she left her scarf last night and gives her a belated Valentine’s Day gift with it. Gabi opens the gift and Li reveals that he’s signing his shares in DiMera Enterprises over to her.

Nicole asks why EJ would be distracted by Stefan. EJ responds that he knew Stefan had been brainwashed and said nothing, then when he told Stefan, he forgave him. Nicole says that’s a good thing. EJ points out that he betrayed his very own brother. EJ talks about disappointing Stefan and the company, but Stefan showed him nothing but compassion. EJ thinks the reason he’s been off lately is because he can’t help but feel incredibly guilty.

Wendy goes to the DiMera Enterprises office and finds Stefan inside, who says he just canceled a meeting. Wendy mentions having to install new antivirus software on his computer. Stefan says he was just headed out and tells her to do what she needs to do. Wendy notes him being in a better mood than last night. Stefan informs her that he just got a text from Chloe, wanting to see him, so that’s where he is headed. Wendy asks what about Gabi. Stefan says he loves Gabi, but he loves Chloe too. Stefan adds that Chloe is the one who reached out, so he doesn’t want to keep her waiting as he then exits the office.

Nicole tells EJ that she’s felt a lot of guilt for hurting a lot of people, so she understands what he’s saying about Stefan. Nicole encourages EJ that he can forgive himself and she’s sure that Stefan would want him too. EJ hopes the stockholders can forgive him. Nicole says everybody makes mistakes and adds that EJ is good at raising the price of DiMera stock. Nicole brings up them spending last night together and says it was wonderful. EJ says he’s glad it happened. Nicole feels the same and adds that she would be glad if it happened again as they kiss.

Jada tells Rafe that she will work on putting together everything they have against Li and Dr. Rolf to build an ironclad case against Melinda. Rafe tells her to let him know if she needs any help. Rafe then offers to order some food while they work on it together. Eric then arrives with Dr. Rolf’s statement from Sloan’s purse and says nobody is at the front desk. Rafe asks how they can help him. Eric responds that he’s here to see Dr. Rolf.

Sloan returns home and sees Eric is gone.

Stefan goes to the park to meet Chloe, but finds Brady instead, who informs him that Chloe is not coming.

Gabi questions why Li would give her his DiMera shares. Li says it’s to show her how much he loves her. Gabi calls that a lot of love since they are worth a fortune. Li adds that they would also allow her to vote on any prospective motions. Li calls it just one vote, but they both know how powerful that can be. Gabi doesn’t know what to say and calls it amazing. Gabi asks what the catch is.

Johnny brings Wendy hot chocolate at the DiMera Enterprise office. Johnny then finds the empty vial on the floor that Stefan had tossed and questions what the heck it is.

At the prison, Lucas questions Roman wanting to scrap the plan to kill Orpheus. Lucas reminds Roman that it was his idea and questions why he’s backing out now. Roman responds that Kate told him that he had to call it off which Lucas questions. Roman insists that Kate spoke to him, then clarifies that her urn did.

Anna remains at the Brady Pub with Kate’s urn. Anna asks if Kate only graces Roman with her wisdom and if she doesn’t have any sage advice for her. Anna tries shaking the urn like a magic eight ball. Anna asks the urn if she will get everything she wants for her birthday this year. Anna then guesses it only works for the widower. Anna asks Kate to continue watching over Roman and to let him get to prison in time. Paulina then enters and questions him getting there in time for what.

John questions Orpheus offering to tell he and Steve who is really responsible for the deaths of their wives. Steve calls him a liar and says he’s just trying to delay the inevitable. Orpheus questions Steve’s hurry. Steve responds that he killed his wife, so the sooner he sends him to Hell, the better. Orpheus asks if he’s not curious about if he’s not lying. Orpheus warns that once he’s gone, they’ll never find out who is really to blame for this…

Nick tells Kate, Kayla, and Marlena that it’s time to go to Hell. Nick calls them fools for turning down the get out of Hell free card. Kayla responds that they are sticking together, so it’s all of them or none of them. Nick plans to escort them to Hell but Kate says over her dead body.

Chanel shows up at Allie’s door and says she came to return her key and get the last of her things. Chanel comes in and sees bags packed, so she asks if Allie already packed her stuff up. Allie then reveals that is her stuff, because she is moving to New Zealand.

Anna greets Paulina and comments on the funerals of Kate, Kayla, and Marlena. Paulina calls it a terrible loss of three wonderful women. Anna doesn’t know how Roman got through it, but says he’s always been a strong man. Anna talks about when she and Roman were married. Paulina thinks she’s trying to change the subject on her. Anna asks what she means. Paulina responds that when she walked in, it sounded like Anna was talking to a dead woman.

Kate tells Nick that they are not going to Hell. Nick reminds her that he has their paperwork. Kate tells him to stay away from them. Kate says they can fight him since there is three of them and only one of him. Kayla and Marlena point out that they don’t have any weapons, so they pick up pieces of a broken pot to threaten Nick. Nick says if they want to do this, they will.

Steve continues accusing Orpheus of killing their wives for revenge on them. Orpheus admits that he did poison them but after they got sick, they were treated and survived. John asks how any of that is relevant now. Orpheus says if someone hadn’t stolen the orchid, they would’ve survived the relapse too. Orpheus tells them that if they really want to punish the person who took their wives, then he will tell them who stole the orchid and they can take it from there. Steve questions him suddenly knowing who the Orchid thief is and he’s going to tell them. Orpheus responds that he will if they are interested and he’s not dead.

Chanel questions Allie moving to New Zealand to live. Allie explains that her son Henry is already with Will and Sonny, so she’s just getting her stuff together and her flight leaves tonight which surprises Chanel. Allie tells her that it’s when Will and Sonny were leaving and she wanted to go with them so they can help her with Henry. Allie notes Chanel not saying anything. Chanel questions why Allie is doing this. Allie thinks she can figure it out. Chanel questions Allie moving to another hemisphere because they broke up. Allie responds that there is nothing here for her anymore since they are over and she doesn’t imagine Chanel would want to be working next to her at the Bakery every day after what she did. Allie calls cheating on her with Alex the worst mistake of her life. Allie adds that being in Salem will just remind her constantly of what a fool she is. Chanel disagrees but Allie says she ruined the best relationship she ever had and made a mess of things in Salem, so she thinks it’s best if she makes a go of it somewhere else.

Anna tells Paulina that she was talking to Kate and jokes that it’s not the first conversation she had with an urn, bringing up when she thought she lost Tony forever but it wasn’t him in the urn. Paulina mentions hearing about that. Paulina brings up hearing Anna talking about Roman and sounding worried about him getting to the prison in time. Anna comments on her hearing quite a bit. Paulina says she didn’t mean to eavesdrop, so she doesn’t have to explain anything. Anna says it’s okay and says that Kate is worried about Lucas and is concerned about his sobriety in prison, so she convinced Roman to go there to try some sort of intervention to keep Lucas from falling off the wagon.

Lucas questions Roman saying he heard all this from Kate’s urn. Lucas asks if Roman is drunk now but he assures he’s not and that he knows what he heard. Roman tells Lucas that Kate is trying to save him from doing something that he can’t come back from. Roman believes because he got her son involved, she reached out from beyond the grave to stop them from making a tragic mistake that they will surely regret for the rest of their lives.

Steve asks John if they are going through with this or not. Orpheus thinks John is interested in what he has to say. Orpheus says Steve may hate him for poisoning his wife, but he knows it wasn’t a death sentence as all three women could have lived if they received another dose of the antidote which was denied to them when the Orchid disappeared. Orpheus declares that whoever took the orchid is just as guilty as he is and just as deserving of their wrath.

Nick asks if Marlena, Kate, and Kayla really think they can stop him, reminding them of who he works for. Nick tells them that the deal is done so there’s no use fighting this. Nick declares that if they won’t come on their own, he’ll just have to give them a little push. Nick then uses his powers to force the women through the door. Nick goes to shove them through when suddenly Jake DiMera appears and stops him!

Chanel admits it would be hard to see Allie every day at the Bakery so it is probably best that they don’t work together anymore, but that’s very different from living 8000 miles apart. Allie assumed Chanel would never want to see her again and thought they were done. Chanel confirms they are done as a couple and won’t be living together or working together anymore, but she wouldn’t just write her off forever because she means too much to her. Chanel says she is upset because Allie hurt her but she knows she made the right decision about their relationship. Chanel tells Allie that she still loves her and she always will, but if this is what Allie thinks is best, she doesn’t want to stand in her way either. Chanel declares that if this is what Allie wants, then she should definitely go. Chanel cries that she’s going to miss the hell out of her and says she is her best friend. Allie cries that she’s going to miss her too.

Nick questions what Jake is doing here and says he unfortunately took a little field trip from Heaven. Kate questions Jake making it in to Heaven.

Lucas tells Roman that it doesn’t matter anymore because they can’t get a hold of John and Steve, they aren’t answering their phones and they can’t just storm the infirmary with all the guards around which is why they came up with the ruse of him falling off the wagon. Roman then orders Lucas to pretend right now that he is drunk.

Steve argues that John can’t actually be taking Orpheus at his word. Steve insists that Orpheus doesn’t know anything and is just stalling. Steve asks how Orpheus could know who stole the orchid unless he was pulling the strings. Orpheus assures them that the orchid thief was acting alone. John asks who it was then. Orpheus says he will once Steve puts down the syringe down. Steve complains that enough is enough and the guard could come in at any moment, so if they are going to make Orpheus pay for what he did to their wives, they have to do it now.

Chanel packs her bag. Allie shows them old photo booth photos that she found of them from London. They talk about the time they spent together there. Chanel calls those some of the best days and nights of her life. Allie feels the same. Allie offers Chanel the pictures, saying they are their pictures and memories. Allie then splits them in half so they each have some. Allie suggests maybe someday in time, they will be like that again.

Lucas tells Roman to forget it because it won’t work. Roman asks why not tell the guard he’s feeling lousy again, so they take him right to the infirmary. Lucas argues that the doctor already discharged him. Roman agrees that they’ve gotten all they can out of the bottle of liquor. Lucas says there has to be another way to get back in the infirmary. Roman declares that he’s going to find it because he has to for Kate.

Jake tells Kate that he made his share of bad choices in life but ultimately, the good outweighed the bad, so now he wears white as an angel. Nick says this is none of Jake’s business. Jake says he’s sorry but Nick cheated so he can’t let him take the ladies to Hell under false pretenses. Nick says he might have used trickery but their signatures are valid. Jake argues that they both know this isn’t about the contracts.

Paulina questions Anna saying that Kate told Roman that she was worried about Lucas. Anna says Kate is very protective of her children. Paulina relates to always wanting to protect her kids. Anna then gets a call from the prison and answers the call from Lucas. Anna asks if Roman got to him in time. Lucas responds that Roman wanted him to call her because he thought she might be worried. Anna steps aside and asks if Roman managed to stop John and Steve from killing Orpheus. Lucas informs her that he hasn’t yet, but he’s going to try.

Steve repeats to John that if they are going to do this, they have to do it now. John remarks that they got in here once, so they could easily do it again. Orpheus points out that this is not a standing offer. John orders Orpheus to convince them now that his information is real if he wants them to spare his life. John asks how Orpheus knows who stole the orchid if he wasn’t in on it. Orpheus responds that he did a little digging. Orpheus gets that they want to punish everyone involved, including him, but he’s incarcerated which is quite the punishment. Orpheus adds that the other parties out there are living it up free. John argues that whoever stole the orchid should pay. Steve doesn’t believe Orpheus can tell them anything. Orpheus warns that if he dies, they will never know. Steve decides he can live with that and goes to inject Orpheus with the syringe, but Roman bursts in and grabs Steve, saying he’s sorry but he can’t let him do this.

Paulina tells Anna that she heard her conversation and she doesn’t get why Roman would try to save Orpheus when he’s responsible for the death of three wonderful women. Paulina argues that Orpheus deserves to burn in Hell. Anna explains that Roman felt the same way, but someone got him to change his mind.

Steve tells Roman that it’s insane that he wants to call the whole thing off because he heard Kate whispering from an urn from beyond the grave. Roman says he wouldn’t believe it unless it happened to him but he heard it clear as day. Orpheus sarcastically asks if Kate is settling in ok. Steve argues that Roman could have been confused but Roman insists he knows Kate’s voice. John compares it to Steve telling him that he saw Kayla. John then informs Roman that Orpheus says he knows who stole the orchid. Roman asks who. John says that Orpheus said he would tell them if they agree not to kill him. Steve declares that the problem is, they just lost their leverage.

Kate and Kayla question what Nick and Jake are talking about. Nick argues that Jake is just trying to give them false hope by interfering. Jake talks about just not liking Nick and how Nick tried to bury him alive two years ago. Jake says Nick tried to give him an early death, just like three women. Nick argues that the women are going to Hell and asks Jake to move along. Jake says he can’t do that because they both know that these three ladies are not really dead, which shocks the women.

Chanel thanks Allie and says it means a lot. Chanel tells Allie to send her postcards and to keep in touch. Chanel guesses this is it as they hug. Chanel and Allie say a tearful goodbye to each other as Chanel then exits the apartment.

John frees Orpheus from being tied to the hospital bed and asks what now. Roman declares that will go home and live their lives in honor of their wives while leaving Orpheus caged up like the animal he is. They go to leave but Orpheus says before they go, he wants to offer an olive branch. Roman asks why he would do that. Orpheus says they spared his life, so to prove to them he’s not a monster. Steve asks if he will tell them who stole the orchid. Orpheus responds that he said he’s not a monster but didn’t say he’s a saint. John says they are leaving. Orpheus stops them and says if they stick around, he’s willing to offer them a clue.

Marlena, Kate, and Kayla question Jake about them not being dead. Nick argues that of course they are. Jake reveals that somebody’s body was cremated but it wasn’t Kate’s as it’s not Kate’s ashes in the urn and Marlena and Kayla’s bodies are not in the graves. Jake reveals that Marlena, Kate, and Kayla are still alive.

Allie sits alone with the photos of her and Chanel as she thinks back to her relationship with Chanel as she starts to cry. Allie then takes her bags and leaves her apartment for the final time.

Chanel sits in the park with her half of her and Allie’s photos. Chanel starts to cry as Paulina approaches and asks if this is about Allie. Chanel reveals that Allie is leaving Salem. Paulina then hugs Chanel as she breaks down crying.

Anna has a drink at the Brady Pub with Kate’s urn and says that no matter what happens, Kate tried her hardest. Anna hopes that Roman got to John and Steve in time. Anna guesses that for now, they just have to keep the faith.

John, Steve, and Roman meet with Lucas in the prison visiting room to reveal the only information that Orpheus gave them is that a DiMera stole the orchid, but they don’t know which one.

Kayla and Kate argue that this doesn’t make sense, questioning what they are doing here if they are still alive. Jake explains that Nick took advantage of a bad situation by plucking them from their bodies and trying to steal their souls. Jake tells the ladies that they don’t belong here. Marlena asks where they are if they weren’t buried or cremated.

Kate, Kayla, and Marlena’s bodies lie in tubes inside of a DiMera Enterprises Laboratory.

John and Steve join Lucas in the prison infirmary. They tell him that they’ve disabled the security cameras while Lucas explains how he pretended to be drunk and pass out, so they brought him in to the infirmary. John says now they just have to wait for Orpheus to begin his shift. Steve declares that they are finally going to end Orpheus’ reign of terror.

The prison guard reminds Orpheus that he has a shift in the infirmary. Orpheus says something is tripping him up and questions Lucas being so drunk that he passed out. Orpheus notes that Lucas was acting kind of buzzed when he asked for a second bottle, but he wasn’t gone that long and certainly not long enough for him to get that wasted. Orpheus declares that he smells a rat.

At the Brady Pub, Roman talks to Kate’s urn and declares that before this day is over, Orpheus will pay for what he did to Kate, Kayla, and Marlena, so they will finally be able to rest in peace.

Nick tells Kayla and Kate that John, Roman, and Steve are going to kill Orpheus and the plan is already in motion. Nick calls it poetic that it’s the same day they laid the three women to rest. Kate doesn’t believe that Roman would ever willingly take someone’s life. Nick asks even if it’s to avenge her death. Kate insists that Roman would not because he’s a cop and believes in doing the right thing. Nick points out that was before Orpheus killed his wife, his sister, and the mother of his children so he lost three women that he loves very much. Nick says Roman, Steve, and John are upset, angry, and scared of Orpheus going after the rest of their family. Kate still doesn’t believe it and turns to Kayla. Kayla admits that when Orpheus was first released from prison, Steve did want to eliminate him to protect her and the kids and he did try to talk John in to it. Nick points out that if John listened, they wouldn’t be dead.

The Devil tells Marlena that if she agrees to stay by his side in Hell for eternity, then he will free Kate and Kayla from their contracts, so it’s two souls for the price of one. The Devil asks Marlena if they have a deal. Marlena argues that there has to be recourse and that they are only here because Nick tricked them in to signing their souls. The Devil says if Marlena doesn’t like the deal, she can walk away and he will just enforce the contracts. The Devil admits that he doesn’t like to win by cheating and says Marlena is the one that got away, twice. Marlena says she’ll think about it but The Devil calls it a limited time offer and declares that he needs her answer right now.

Kate questions why they would believe anything Nick says. Nick then turns on a screen, showing Roman, John, and Steve creating their plan to put Orpheus down. Kate argues that is just Steve proposing a crazy idea, so Nick fast forwards it to Roman and John agreeing with Steve’s plan. Kate can’t believe it and asks Kayla what the hell is wrong with Steve.

Roman continues talking to Kate’s urn and says he would give anything to hear her voice one more time. Roman thinks about all the time they lost and wasted. Roman knows nothing they do will be able to bring her, Kayla, or Marlena back, but at least that madman will never be able to hurt anybody they love again. Roman states that it will all be over soon. Anna then enters the Pub. Roman tells her that the Pub is closed. Anna says that’s why she came in the back as she just wanted to see how he’s holding up since she didn’t get to talk to him at the funeral. Roman claims he’s fine. Anna points out that he was talking to the urn when she came in. Roman knows it’s not Kate, but it brings him closer to her and he’s pretty sure Anna understands that. Anna talks about people rolling their eyes at her when she thought Tony was dead, but it brought her comfort. Roman understands that now. Anna says the one thing she doesn’t get, is that he was saying it would all be over soon, so she questions what he meant by that.

Lucas tells John and Steve that Orpheus should be starting his shift any minute now. John tells Lucas that he should get going then but Lucas says he’s not going anywhere. Steve tells Lucas that he’s done his part by getting them in, so he can go back to his cell as there’s no reason for him to get blood on his hands. Lucas argues that Orpheus killed his mom, so he wants to be there to see him take his last breath. John understands but says it would be safer if Lucas lets them handle it. Lucas argues that he’s already in prison so he questions what difference it makes. John says Lucas will be out before long and Allie is going to need him. Steve appreciates his help but says it was their idea so they should see it through. Lucas asks what if something goes wrong and they need backup. John assures that they know what they are doing. The doctor then walks in and questions what is going on in here.

Orpheus asks the guard if he actually saw Lucas take a drink. He admits he didn’t, but he wasn’t there the whole time. Orpheus then checks the trash can and finds the bottle. Orpheus notes that it’s empty and then smells the trash can to confirm that Lucas poured it out. Orpheus declares that Lucas is pretending to be drunk. The guard asks why he would do that. Orpheus says he doesn’t know but he’s obviously playing some type of game, so they’re going to find out what it is.

John claims to the doctor that they were just cleaning up the Infirmary and got sidetracked by Lucas talking to them. The doctor points out that he’s never seen them before. John says they just started a couple weeks ago while Steve says they usually work night shift. The doctor says they shouldn’t interact with the inmates and should go. John says they just have to finish cleaning the room up so the doctor says he won’t get in their way. John and Steve started cleaning while the doctor questions Lucas about his drinking. Steve remarks that Lucas probably just needs to go back to his cell and sleep it off. The doctor says he’ll handle it and begins checking Lucas out. He says he seems fine but does smell of alcohol. Lucas responds that he’s good at sobering up. The doctor advises him not to drink the next time he thinks about it. The doctor then walks Lucas out.

Anna asks Roman what is going to be over soon. Roman claims he meant the funerals but Anna points out those are already over. Roman says he still has to scatter Kate’s ashes, so it won’t truly be done until she’s laid to rest. Anna says she sees what he means and cries that this is so tragic because he and Kate didn’t have nearly enough time together. Roman admits he misses her so much and he hopes that she’s at peace.

Kayla questions Kate blaming Steve. Kate argues that Steve talked Roman in to committing murder, so he could end up in prison for the rest of his life. Nick points out he could also be damning his soul for all eternity. Nick jokes that they will eventually reunite with their husbands in Hell. Kayla argues that won’t happen since Marlena is negotiating with the Devil to let them remain in Heaven. Kate remarks that Roman should be rewarded for getting Orpheus off the Earth. Nick says that’s not how it works and he has other guests to torment, so he will be back when The Devil makes a decision about their eternal souls. Kate can’t believe Roman let Steve talk him in to this. Kayla says she didn’t know and if she had, she would’ve stopped him but now there’s nothing they can do. Kate says unless there is…

Marlena asks how she knows she can trust The Devil to keep up his side of the bargain. The Devil responds that his word does count for something around here. Marlena goes over the deal again. The Devil gives his word that if she agrees to stay with him, he will allow Kate and Kayla to go to Heaven. Marlena then tells The Devil that he’s got a deal and they shake hands. The Devil calls it rare for him to make such a bargain. The Devil says Marlena being with him for all eternity will be enough thanks for him. Marlena asks if she can at least say goodbye to Kate and Kayla. The Devil allows her and then says Nick will escort her down to his neck of the woods. Marlena can’t believe this is happening. The Devil tells her to enjoy her last moments of peace and warns that the next time she sees him, he will be in his true form.

Kate questions how Kayla reached Steve last night. Kayla doesn’t know and calls it sort of an accident which Kate questions. Kayla says she was just thinking about Steve and it just sort of happened. Kate suggests trying that so she can talk to their husbands and talk them out of this terrible idea. Kayla reminds her that Nick said they already closed the hole in the firewall. Kate says that was about Kayla and Steve, so maybe she can still reach Roman. Kayla decides it’s worth a shot. Kate then tries calling out to Roman but Kayla doesn’t think that will work. Kate asks Kayla what she did. Kayla thinks she got lucky because Steve was half asleep when she contacted him, so she sort of just walked in to his dream. Kate says she can’t wait until Roman is sleeping since they are going after Orpheus during the day. Kayla has Kate close her eyes and try picturing Roman. Kayla thinks it’s about concentrating and imagining that her voice is traveling all the way down to Roman. Kayla encourages her to imagine Roman is right in front of her. Kate tries but decides it’s ridiculous. Kayla suggests she try again, so Kate tries speaking through to Roman.

Anna advises Roman to save some of Kate’s ashes for himself when he scatters them and suggests he could put them in a vial around his neck so she would be with him always. Anna knows some may see that as extreme or creepy, but she sees it as romantic. Anna jokes that it’s not like she’s suggesting he snort Kate’s remains like a line of cocaine like Keith Richards with his dad. Anna thinks he should keep a little bit of Kate around so he can talk to her whenever he needs. Roman then starts hearing Kate’s voice calling out to him and asks what the hell.

Orpheus goes to The Infirmary looking for Lucas but finds John and Steve instead.

Roman asks Anna if she heard that then says he’s just exhausted. Anna acknowledges that it’s been a rough morning so she suggests he go lay down. Roman says he would but he’s waiting for a call. Roman then continues hearing Kate’s voice and calls out to her. Roman hears Kate saying she knows what he’s planning with Steve and John and he can’t go through with it. Kate says she understands he’s upset but Orpheus is not worth condemning his soul for eternity so she begs him not to do it. Roman asks Kate where she is. Anna says she’s right there. Roman responds that he can hear Kate talking to him right now.

Kate continues pleading with Roman to hear her. Kate thinks she can feel him. Kayla urges her to keep going and keep focused. Kate asks Roman to promise not to kill Orpheus. Nick interrupts and questions what the hell they are trying to do. Kate then says she lost the connection. Kayla asks what happened. Kate says she couldn’t see Roman but she felt the connection. Nick doesn’t know what just happened but says he’s going to have a strong word with their I.T. department about this. Kate can’t believe she reached Roman. Kate admits she can’t be sure but she knows in her gut that he got the message.

Roman calls out to Kate asking if she can hear him. Anna asks if he’s been drinking. Roman responds that he’s completely sober. Anna says she won’t judge him since he just lost his wife so it’s understandable. Roman insists that he could hear Kate but he can’t hear her anymore. Roman asks if Kate is still there. Anna asks if she had spoken to him before. Roman confirms this is the first time and continues asking if Kate can hear him but there’s no response. Roman states that she’s gone. Anna asks what she said to him. Roman responds that she was trying to stop him from going through with the plan. Anna questions what plan.

Nick thought he made it very clear that they were not allowed to make contact with the living. Kate asks what he’s going to do about it because he can’t send them to Hell without permission from his boss. Nick warns that he can make their lives miserable and jokes that he has Baby Shark on loop and is not afraid to use it. Kate tells him to do his worst because it won’t change the fact that she already contacted Roman. Nick asks what she thinks that accomplished. Kate believes Roman is now convincing Steve and John not to murder Orpheus. Marlena then returns from Hell and questions them saying that John and Steve are going to murder Orpheus. Kayla tells her that they are apparently planning to avenge their deaths. Kate thinks she managed to stop them or at least she hopes so.

Orpheus says he knew Lucas was up to something, though it didn’t occur to him that John and Steve were involved. Steve jokes that they can still surprise him. Orpheus guesses that Lucas faked his blackout to sneak them in which John confirms. Orpheus says it’s not a terrible plan, but he’s glad they are there. Steve questions why that is. Orpheus mentions hearing that today was the funeral for their wives and he felt terrible he couldn’t send his condolences. Steve tells him to cut the crap now. Orpheus continues talking about how it was a tragedy. John holds Steve back from going after Orpheus. Orpheus comments on them both still being devastated by their loss. John calls it a difficult day. Steve adds that he and John have found a way to ease their suffering. Orpheus questions what that is. Steve responds that they are going to watch him die.

Marlena questions Kate feeling like she was reaching Roman. Kate assures she felt a connection. Nick suggests they start thinking about their own souls instead of their husbands. Kate asks about Marlena’s meeting with The Devil. Marlena reveals that she was able to make a deal. Marlena then announces Kate and Kayla are not going to Hell. Kayla hugs Marlena and says she knew she’d come through for them as Kate thanks her. Nick doesn’t understand and asks how that happened. Marlena shows him that The Devil has voided the contracts. Kate asks how Marlena pulled that off. Marlena admits that she had to make a deal. Nick points out that Marlena’s papers aren’t there. Kayla questions what Marlena did. Marlena then explains that in order to guarantee that Kate and Kayla stay in Heaven, she had to agree to spend the rest of eternity in Hell with The Devil.

Anna questions Roman about he, Steve, and John going to kill Orpheus today. Roman tells her to keep her voice down. Anna asks who he thinks is going to hear. Anna agrees that he can’t go through with it. Roman argues that because of Orpheus, he lost three of the most important women in his life. Anna says she’s not saying he doesn’t deserve to burn in Hell, but they can’t be the ones to end his life. Roman argues that they have to stop him from hurting anybody else. Anna points out that Kate doesn’t agree. Roman asks if she believes that he really heard Kate’s voice then. Anna remarks that if you live in this town long enough, there’s not a lot you won’t believe. Anna urges Roman to stop John and Steve from murdering Orpheus.

John and Steve strap Orpheus in to the hospital bed in the infirmary. Orpheus remarks that in some ways, he’s surprised it took them this long to seek revenge as he was beginning to think they didn’t have it in them. John tells him to keep talking as it strengthens their resolve to put an end to him. Orpheus questions how they plan to achieve that. John and Steve explain that they plan to make it look like Orpheus got in to the opioids in the infirmary and got a little carried away, so it looks like an accidental overdose. Orpheus figures they are both too cowardly to claim credit for their handy work. Steve says he’s already taken enough from them, so he won’t take their families and freedom. Orpheus asks what about their immortal souls because taking a life in cold blood is breaking a commandment. Steve thinks in this case, God will understand. Orpheus asks if he’s sure. Orpheus knows he’s going to Hell and asks if he really wants to join him there. Steve then gets a call from Roman. Orpheus asks if there’s a crack in their coalition or if Roman is a weak link and getting cold feet. Steve reminds Orpheus that he killed Roman’s wife, his sister, and the mother of his children, so he’s rock solid. Orpheus questions why he is calling then. John responds that Roman is just anxious to hear that they completed the job. Orpheus says there’s only one way to find out. Steve tells John to just get this over with and they’ll fill Roman in once they are on their way home to their families and Orpheus is in a bodybag.

Roman tells Anna that Steve didn’t answer and John’s phone is going straight to voicemail while they aren’t texting either. Anna urges that Roman has to get to the prison to stop them. Anna warns that killing Orpheus would be playing right in to his hands and he will have won yet again by turning them in to something they are not. Roman agrees that he has to do whatever he can to stop this, so he hurries out of the Pub.

Orpheus tells Steve and John that killing him won’t bring their wives back. Steve feels it will go a long way in evening the score. John adds that this isn’t just about revenge, but being proactive. Steve says they know it’s only a matter of time before he decides they haven’t suffered enough so what’s to keep him from going after their kids or grandkids. John declares this is the only way to ensure he never hurts anybody ever again. John starts searching for a syringe. Steve asks Orpheus if he’s ready for his journey to Hell. Steve brings up that he’s seen Orpheus die before, but this time after what he did to Kayla, he is really going to enjoy watching the life drain out of him.

Marlena explains that The Devil admitted that the contracts couldn’t be enforced because they were obtained through trickery. Nick questions the Devil having a problem with trickery now. Kayla asks about the deal. Marlena says he agreed to cut them a deal if she agreed to accept her fate of an eternity in Hell. Marlena thinks The Devil is just upset because she slipped through his fingers twice. Kate thanks Marlena for her sacrifice and says they will never forget it. Kayla argues that they are not doing this. Kate thinks it’s a done deal. Kayla refuses to let Marlena trade her soul for their souls. Kate doesn’t think they can talk her out of it. Kayla insists that they need to stick together as they are stronger together and can fight this. Nick gets instructions to escort them all to Hell immediately if Marlena backs out of the deal. Kate feels they have no choice but Kayla argues that they do. Kayla declares that they are going to stick together and present themselves as a united front so if one of them goes to Hell, they all go to Hell. Marlena tells Kayla that she appreciates her gesture but she’s okay. Kayla questions her being okay with going to Hell. Marlena responds that she’s at peace with her decision but Kayla is not. Kayla says they cannot let their friend suffer in Hell while they are in Heaven as they wouldn’t be happy. Kate thinks in time, they would adjust but then agrees with Kayla that they are sticking together, so there is no deal. Nick decides he will escort them to Hell then.

Anna remains at the Pub with Kate’s urn. Anna looks at it and then asks if Kate’s there. Anna doesn’t expect her to answer so she says she’ll do the talking. Anna thanks Kate for being Roman’s guardian angel. Anna comments that she didn’t always agree with how Kate lived her life but she thinks deep down that Roman knows what he’s doing is wrong. Anna hopes Roman gets there in time to stop Steve and John from making a huge mistake.

Roman arrives at the prison visiting room where Lucas asks what he’s doing there. Roman asks where Steve and John are. Lucas assumes they are in the infirmary with Orpheus. Roman orders Lucas to take him there because they have to stop them and call this whole thing off.

John loads a syringe full of morphine, saying it should be enough to knock Orpheus out for good. Steve asks to do the honors. John says he won’t have a problem doing it but Steve says it was his idea, so he should do it. Orpheus mocks him making the self sacrifice and warns that he is going to regret this. Steve responds that his only regret is that he didn’t do it sooner, before he poisoned their wives, and now he’s going to pay for what he did. Orpheus stops him and says there’s something he needs to know. Steve is not interested because nothing he can say can change their minds. Orpheus asks if he’s sure about that and what if he was to tell them who is really responsible for the death of their wives…

Days of Our Lives Update

After the funerals, John joins Steve at Kayla’s grave and tells him it was a beautiful service. Steve says so was Marlena’s and Kate’s. They agree that it’s just overwhelming. John thinks half the town showed up as they sure touched a lot of people’s lives. Steve says he lost count of how many times someone told him how much Kayla meant to them and how it doesn’t make sense that she’s gone. John can’t wrap his head around the fact that he’ll never see Marlena on Earth again, just like Steve will never see Kayla. Steve then informs John that he actually saw Kayla last night.

In the afterlife, Kate, Kayla, and Marlena wait around for Nick Fallon. Marlena comments on The Devil going through a lot of trouble to trick them in to signing away their souls. Kayla argues that he owes them a chance to plead their case. Nick then returns, so Marlena asks if they are getting a meeting with The Devil. Nick says it’s not easy to book a face to face with Satan and asks why he should care about three arrogant women.

Will and Sonny walk through the town square together. Will talks about going through three funerals in one day. Sonny hugs him and says at least they got to be around family. Will points out that he’s about to leave them right in the middle of all this suffering. Sonny says he doesn’t have to leave yet but Will reveals that he has to go to New Zealand for the shoot and can’t put it off any longer. Will hates that he has to say goodbye to Sonny again. Sonny responds that he doesn’t have to, because he’s going with him.

Roman is at the Brady Pub, on the phone with Lucas. Roman says he’s sorry that Lucas didn’t get to say goodbye to his mother and that it was a beautiful service. Lucas responds that being stuck in prison has made it a lot harder. Roman knows the timing stinks but says they need to talk about Orpheus. Lucas questions him wanting to put things in to motion today. Roman says if this is going to work, there’s no better time for Lucas to fall off the wagon then the day of his mother’s funeral.

Nick reveals to Kate, Kayla, and Marlena that they have been granted an audience with The Devil.

Will asks Sonny if he’s kidding but Sonny says no. Will says Sonny can’t come to New Zealand but Sonny says he can’t spend another minute away from him, feeling they’ve been separated long enough. Sonny reminds Will that last time they were separated for long, Leo nearly sunk their marriage. Sonny says he’s sorry but he can’t spend another six months away from him as that’s not what they signed up for. Sonny repeats that he’s sorry but he’s along for the ride and there’s nothing Will can do to stop him.

John questions Steve saying he saw Kayla. Steve knows how it sounds but says last night, he was on the couch drifting off when she suddenly came through the door. John calls that a really nice vision but Steve insists that she was flesh and blood. Steve doesn’t know but notes that Kayla said she needed his help because she, Marlena, and Kate had been tricked in to giving their souls away to the Devil. Steve knows it’s crazy but then Tripp came home and Kayla disappeared. Steve says Tripp tried to convince him it was just a dream, but he insists that it was real.

Roman knows Lucas is carrying a burden here and he wishes there was another way. Lucas assures that he will do it for his mom. Roman declares that all three women deserve justice and they are going to get it for them. Allie then enters the Pub and startles Roman. Allie questions if Lucas is on the phone because she thought Roman wasn’t speaking to him after what he did to Sami.

Kate and Kayla ask about the meeting with the Devil but Nick clarifies that Satan only agreed to see Marlena, not Kate and Kayla.

Will loves that Sonny wants to come with him but says he can’t let him pack up and leave Salem. Sonny asks if he’s saying no. Will says it’s not up to him as Victor won’t let him run Titan from New Zealand and Gabi won’t let them take Arianna to the other side of the world. Sonny reveals he already talked to Gabi and persuaded her, noting that it’s also what Arianna wants and there will be frequent visits. Will asks what he’s saying. Sonny tells him that he is what matters to him. Sonny declares that whatever happens, they will figure it out. Sonny tells Will that he loves him and never wants to be separated from him ever again.

Steve tells John that he knows it’s easy to explain away but swears it was not a dream. Steve wishes he could tell him he’s fine but he’s not. Steve cries that he will carry this grief with him for the rest of his life. John reminds him that is why they are going after Orpheus. Steve states that killing Orpheus won’t put a dent in what they’ve lost, but their wives need to be avenged and after last night, he believes that more than ever. John informs Steve that it’s time to hook up with Roman. John declares that now that they have laid the women they love to rest, it’s Orpheus’ turn.

Roman informs Allie that Lucas called to ask about the funeral and he’s sure that he would love to talk to her if she’s up to it. Allie agrees so Roman hands her the phone. Lucas says it’s really good to hear her voice and asks if she’s okay. Allie tells him that Kate’s service was beautiful and she wishes he could’ve been there. Allie mentions that she keeps thinking about how hard it must be for Lucas to be stuck in there with his grief and no outlet for it. Lucas tells her not to worry about him and to lean on the people who love her. Lucas notes that the guard is telling him he has to cut it short so he has to go. Allie says she’ll talk to him soon. Lucas hopes so and tells her to tell Roman that he’s glad they talked. Lucas tells Allie that he loves her more than she’ll ever know and then hangs up. Roman asks Allie if she’s alright. Allie says yes but she heard Roman telling Lucas something about Kate, Kayla, and Marlena deserving justice and that he would get it for them. Allie questions what he meant by that.

Kayla argues that she knew there would be a catch. Marlena feels they have to take their only option which Kayla agrees with. Marlena points out that she’s beaten The Devil twice, so she will meet with him and get their souls back. Nick tells them to stop wasting time and says there is no vote, it’s Marlena or no one. Marlena agrees to go with Nick to see his boss.

Will knows how much running Titan means to Sonny. Sonny points out that Alex is more than willing to step up as he already did before. Sonny assures it’s all under control and he’ll be working remotely. Sonny adds that he and Arianna can do whatever they want. Sonny says the only thing stopping them is Will. Sonny assures that he has everything figured out but for some reason, Will still seems to be against this. Sonny then kisses Will.

Roman tells Allie that everybody is having a rough time these days and it’s double for Lucas. Roman says they all want justice but Lucas feels helpless in prison, so he was just trying to reassure him. Allie says that’s very kind of him considering his feelings towards Lucas. Roman assures that he still has issues with Lucas, but they are family and Kate’s death reminded him of what’s really important. Allie thanks him and hugs him. Allie hopes that what Roman said comes true, that justice is served. Roman says they are working on it. Allie walks away as Steve and John come out from the back. Steve declares that it’s time.

Lucas asks the prison guard where Orpheus is and tells him to find Orpheus because he wants to talk to him ASAP.

John tells Roman that he’s sorry he had to lie to Allie. Roman is just glad she didn’t come in a minute earlier and he could get her off the scent. Steve ask if Roman is still in. Roman assures that he is. John says that’s good because he wants to be able to tell Marlena that her death did not go unavenged.

Nick escorts Marlena down a flight of stairs and directs her to meet with The Devil. Nick then disappears, so Marlena guesses she is on her own. Marlena continues forward and finds The Devil disguised as Doug, who asks if she missed him because he certainly has missed her.

Will asks Sonny if he is really coming to New Zealand. Sonny thinks they deserve it after everything they’ve been through together. Will talks about how he’s always the one leaving and putting pressure on them. Sonny says they make things right when they have to. They agree that what they have is worth everything. Will feels Sonny is making the bigger sacrifice. Sonny says maybe this time, but he’ll have plenty of opportunities in the future which Will promises to do. Will tells Sonny that he loves him. Sonny says he loves him too and can’t wait to tell him that every day in person. Will guesses they have a bunch of people to share the news with then. Allie approaches and asks what news.

Kate tells Kayla that she keeps thinking what if this isn’t real. Kayla says she has to believe this is not a trick and that they are going to have a chance to change their fate. Kayla encourages Kate to have faith as they are in this together. Kate admits she’s grateful she is here with Kayla and Marlena. Nick returns and says he hates the peace and understanding. Nick calls their funerals sappy. Kayla asks how their families are. Nick says they were really sad, especially Steve. Nick then asks Kayla about paying Steve a visit last night.

Steve asks if Lucas is all set on his end. Roman confirms that he went through everything with him and he’s still on board. John worries that bringing booze back in to his life is a dangerous game. Roman assures that they can count on Lucas and asks if they are ready. Steve responds that they were born ready and Orpheus won’t know what hit him.

Orpheus meets with Lucas in prison and says he heard he wanted to speak with him. Lucas asks what took him so long. Orpheus questions what’s wrong with him and if he’s drunk. Lucas responds that he’s not drunk enough and gives him back the now empty whiskey bottle, saying he wants more. Orpheus comments that Lucas drank the bottle awfully fast considering he didn’t want it. Lucas staggers and asks if he has to beg him. Lucas tells Orpheus that today was his mother’s funeral and he missed it. Orpheus says he’s sorry to hear that but Lucas says he’s not because he killed her. Lucas declares that if he’s going to make it through the day, he’s going to need more alcohol. Lucas grabs Orpheus and asks if he’s going to help him or not.

Marlena doesn’t understand how The Devil is Doug. The Devil thought assuming a familiar face might make her more comfortable. He adds that if she saw his real face, her face would just melt away. Marlena wants to stop wasting time. The Devil asks how he can help her.

Allie questions Will and Sonny leaving today just like that. Will says he had the same reaction but now sees how much sense it makes. Allie says she’s going to miss them but admits she’s excited for them. Allie notes that Sonny has so much going on here, so it can’t be easy for him. Sonny says nothing in life ever is. Sonny notes that he kept worrying about the details and then it hit him that being happy is all that really matters, so once he accepted that, everything else falls in to place. Will asks if Allie is okay. Allie then asks what if she and her son Henry come along?

Orpheus tells Lucas that it must hurt missing his mother’s funeral, knowing it’s because he kidnapped his ex-wife. Orpheus tells him to stay put and he’ll be back in a few. Orpheus stops and says he didn’t kill his mother. Orpheus then warns Lucas to stop saying that or they are done. Orpheus then exits the visiting room. Lucas remarks that Orpheus did kill her and today he’s going to pay for it.

Kate questions what Nick is talking about. Kayla pretends not to know but Nick tells Kate that Kayla went solo and didn’t tell her. Kate questions what Kayla did. Nick reveals that Kayla made unauthorized contact with Steve, thinking he could get her out of here. Kate questions how Kayla saw Steve. Nick says Steve may be a miracle worker, but even he isn’t going to get her out of this one.

Steve hopes their wives are looking down on them, knowing that they are doing this for them. Roman wishes he was going with them but John says it’s better to have someone on the outside in case this all goes sideways. Steve assures that it won’t because it can’t and this has to work. Roman encourages that they have justice on their side and three angels in Heaven looking out for them. Roman wishes them luck as Steve and John then exit the Pub. Roman pleads for Lucas not to fail them.

Orpheus returns to Lucas. Orpheus taunts him with the whiskey and says he thinks it’s only fitting and proper that they honor his mother by drinking a toast to her together. Lucas says he drinks alone and doesn’t share. Orpheus tells him not to worry because there’s plenty more. Orpheus then gives Lucas the bottle to go first. Lucas takes the bottle but the guard interrupts and informs Orpheus that he’s late for group therapy. Orpheus remarks that he must have lost track of time. Orpheus leaves the bottle with Lucas and exits. Lucas then puts some of the whiskey on himself and then pours it in the trash.

Marlena argues that The Devil knows exactly why she’s there as she came to challenge the bogus contracts that Nick tricked them in to signing. The Devil says things are different in Hell and they encourage lawlessness. Marlena understands he wants their souls but asks if he can’t get them in the normal way instead of trying to trick them. Marlena argues that The Devil is not some cheap con man, but the most powerful force of evil in the universe. Marlena asks if tricking them makes him feel proud. Marlena thinks it makes him look weak.

Will questions Allie wanting to leave Salem with them. Sonny asks where this is coming from. Allie knows it may seem impulsive but it makes sense to her. Allie talks about thinking of the lives that Marlena, Kayla, and Kate lived without fear or regrets and taking chances. Will asks about everything Allie would be leaving behind. Allie reveals to them that Chanel broke up with her. Will says he’s sorry as he didn’t know that. Sonny calls it Chanel’s loss but Allie says this one is on her. Allie then admits that she slept with Alex because she thought Chanel and Johnny were hooking up, but she was wrong. Will asks Allie if she’s sure it’s over for her and Chanel and if she doesn’t want to stay and fight for her. Allie knows when Chanel has made up her mind, pushing her is the worst thing to do. Allie says she will always love her but she knows they could use the time and space apart. Will asks about her job. Allie points out that she will have to quit since her boss was the person she cheated on. Allie adds that she talked to Lucas, who told her to lean on the people she loves and do whatever is best for her and Henry. Will calls that good advice. Allie notes that she’s a single mom with no job or prospects. Allie states that they buried their grandmothers today, so she could use something positive in their lives. Allie adds that they may never get this opportunity again to recharge and reboot. Allie says there’s no where better than the most beautiful place in the world with her two favorite people. Will asks if she’s sure. Allie says it sounds like Heaven on Earth.

Marlena tells The Devil that Nick and his games are beneath him. The Devil says losing to Marlena twice was a bitter experience and he hates losing. Marlena asks if he doesn’t want to prove once and for all that he’s stronger than her. The Devil talks about taking a difficult path and then declares that he has made his decision.

Kate questions Kayla about contacting Steve. Kayla believes that she did. Kate asks if Steve talked to her and saw her. Kayla says she doesn’t know but she was desperate to let Steve know that she’s okay. Kate asks how Nick could not let her know so that she could’ve talked to Roman or Lucas.

The guard returns to Lucas, who pretends to be drunk and demands to see Orpheus because he needs more. Lucas lunges at the guard and ends up hitting the table, so the guard calls in that they have an inmate down and that he needs assistance to send him to the infirmary.

Will states that he was heading back to New Zealand alone but now they better charter their own flight as they accept Allie coming with them. Allie excitedly hugs Will and Sonny.

Kate asks Nick how she can reach her family. Nick says that had nothing to do with him as Kayla found a way around their fire wall but it’s been plugged up and won’t happen again. Kayla assures that she will keep trying. Nick insists it won’t happen again which is a shame because it looks like there will be some interesting developments today. Kayla questions what he’s talking about. Nick declares that there is murder in the air. Nick then reveals that Steve, John, and Roman are going to avenge their deaths by killing Orpheus today.

Roman says to himself that everything should be starting to come together right about now.

Orpheus returns to the visiting room. The guard comes in after him and questions what was in the booze that he gave Lucas, because he passed out and he had to send him to the infirmary. Orpheus calls Lucas a loser who can’t handle his alcohol.

Lucas gets set up in the infirmary and calls out for his mom, so the nurse goes to get him a doctor. Lucas then jumps up and meets Steve and John at the door.

The Devil tells Marlena that he can’t believe he’s saying this, but he’s willing to tear up the contracts of Kate and Kayla in exchange for Marlena staying by his side for all eternity.

EJ and Nicole arrive at the Bistro and see Eric and Sloan. EJ tells Nicole they can go somewhere else but Nicole insists that she’s fine. Nicole says it’s Valentine’s Day and every place will be busy and she’s starving. EJ asks if she doesn’t mind being in the same room as them. Nicole responds that if Eric can take it, she can, so they get a table for two. Sloan remarks to Eric that this should be fun. Sloan jokes that usually she sees Valentine’s Day as just a commercial ripoff, but this just got a lot more interesting.

Johnny walks through the town square with a bouquet of flowers and then bumps in to Tripp. Tripp guesses the flowers are for Chanel but Johnny reveals that they are actually for Wendy.

Li sits alone in his hotel room and finishes his second glass of wine until there’s a knock at the door. Li hopes it’s Gabi but it’s Wendy. Wendy tells Li that he has to face the reality that he completely blew it with Gabi and it’s over.

Gabi tells Stefan that she loves him while Stefan responds “I love you too, Chloe,” leaving Gabi confused. Gabi asks if he just heard what he said as she can’t believe he just called her Chloe.

Steve is passed out on the couch at home with he and Kayla’s wedding photo nearby. Steve then dreams of seeing Kayla in the room as it is their anniversary.

Nicole complains to EJ about Sloan and Eric grinning at each other. Nicole remarks that she thought Sloan was just rebound sex but now Eric is staring at her like she hung the moon and now they are spending Valentine’s Day together. EJ reminds her that they are too. Nicole argues that they are just celebrating the Italian deal while EJ points out that it’s also the proper dinner date that he promised her. EJ adds that it can be as romantic as he wants it to be as he holds her hand which Eric looks over and sees. Sloan asks Eric what’s wrong. Eric responds that Nicole led him to believe there was nothing romantic going on with EJ, but now she’s holding hands with him and probably sleeping with him too. Sloan calls it sad that it still bothers him.

Johnny knows Tripp thinks something is going on with he and Chanel. Tripp says he owes him no explanation and that he thinks it’s great if he and Wendy worked things out. Tripp asks if he has big plans for tonight. Johnny confirms he’s supposed to meet Wendy in a couple minutes and they are going to see a movie. Tripp apologizes if he screwed up his date with her last night. Tripp explains that Joey called Wendy and told her that he needed her. Tripp adds that he doesn’t know what’s gotten in to Joey but for some reason, he decided to play matchmaker and that he was interested in Wendy. Johnny then asks if Joey’s right.

Wendy asks Li what happened now. Li explains that he asked Gabi to have dinner with him and she turned him down flat. Wendy says she’s sorry. Li questions what she’s doing here on Valentine’s Day and guesses she was checking up on him. Li gets why since he’s lonely, unemployed, and possibly about to go to prison. Wendy suggests that if Li wants Gabi back, he has to start small. Wendy tells him that he should invite her out for coffee and be her friend instead of inviting her over for Valentine’s Day dinner. Li responds that he doesn’t want to just be Gabi’s friend as she is still his wife. Wendy points out that the only guy she wants is her previous husband, Stefan. Li admits that he knows.

Stefan claims he didn’t call Gabi “Chloe” and that he wouldn’t do that but Gabi insists that she heard it. Stefan says that if he did, it’s only because he’s worried about Chloe. Gabi questions him worrying about Chloe when he’s about to take her upstairs to bed and asks why he’s worried about Chloe. Stefan says that Chloe ran out after Dr. Rolf was taken in to custody and he hasn’t heard from her since. Stefan says he left her three messages that she’s ignored and called her earlier. Gabi then questions if Stefan called Chloe before or after he called her.

Steve imagines seeing Kayla but says it can’t be real and he just had too much to drink but she insists that it’s real as they kiss.

Eric tells Sloan that he’s not bothered, he’s just tired of people telling him that he’s not over Nicole. Eric then admits that maybe he’s not. Sloan guesses now he’s afraid that she’s over him. Eric states that he’s the one who divorced Nicole, so she has every right to move on, and he just wishes it wasn’t with that jackass. Nicole tells EJ that Eric could have any woman he wants, so she doesn’t know why he’s settling for Sloan. Nicole then apologizes. EJ tells her that she can go on but Nicole doesn’t want to spend the rest of the evening talking about Eric. Nicole then pours them glasses of champagne and toasts to their first proper dinner date. Eric finishes his glass of wine at the same time.

Li tells Wendy that he doesn’t understand why a woman like Gabi would waste her time on a man that loves somebody else. Wendy relates to trying to believe he loves her more. Li says he wasn’t talking about her and Johnny. Li offers her a glass of wine but Wendy responds that she has plans tonight with Johnny. Li thought they were over. Wendy says it turns out to be a misunderstanding. Li notes that Gabi encouraged her to not give up so easily, that Johnny is a good guy, and that she should fight for him. Li tells her to go ahead and have a wonderful time. Wendy asks if he’s sure he’ll be okay. Li is just glad one of them is having a Happy Valentine’s Day.

Stefan admits to Gabi that he called Chloe before he called her, but only because C comes before G in his contact list. Stefan argues that he’s been through a lot. Gabi calls him unbelievable as she thought he called her over because he made his decision that she’s the one he wanted. Gabi questions if he called her by hitting the wrong button. Stefan insists that he knew what he was doing. Gabi asks if he only called her because Chloe didn’t pick up. Gabi then questions if she would even be here if Chloe did pick up.

Tripp tells Johnny about how he met Wendy last summer and Joey was there. Tripp says that he and Wendy are friends which Johnny questions him more about, but Wendy then arrives. Wendy apologizes for being late as she stopped to check on her brother. Wendy asks if they were talking about her. Tripp says they just ran in to each other and Johnny just told him that they worked things out, so he’s really happy for them. Tripp tells them to have fun tonight. Wendy wishes him a Happy Valentine’s Day. Tripp wishes her the same and walks away. Johnny then gives Wendy his flowers which she calls so sweet of him.

Steve questions his imagination of Kayla, who says she really needs his help because Heaven is not working out.

Nicole asks EJ how long he thinks they have to stay out to give Stefan space for whatever he’s planning. EJ has no idea what Stefan has in mind. Nicole says Stefan is dreaming if he thinks he can keep stringing Chloe and Gabi along. EJ believes he heard Chloe was not returning his calls. Nicole informs EJ that Chloe left town because she had it after Brady lied to her and she thought she had something with Stefan until she found out that he was just programmed to fall for her. The waitress comes by to ask if they are ready to order. Nicole orders the steak that Sloan is having but the waitress informs her that Sloan got the last one, so Nicole asks for a few more minutes to look over the menu. Eric has some of Sloan’s steak and comments that it’s so good. Nicole rolls her eyes and asks why they don’t just take it back to her place. EJ responds that he’s sure they will eventually.

Stefan tells Gabi that he’s not lying and that he really was going to call her. Gabi questions if he was going to call her and Chloe and hope for a threesome. Stefan says no, unless she’s in to that. Gabi then throws her wine on him. Stefan can’t believe what she has done. Gabi says he deserved it and she can’t believe she was going to sleep with him tonight. Stefan begins to remove his wine-stained shirt and tells Gabi not to be upset. Gabi says she’s beyond upset. Gabi tells him about Rafe telling her to focus on the fact that he loves her, but says it’s hard to focus on that when he also loves Chloe. Gabi gathers her things so Stefan questions if she’s really leaving and tries to stop her. Stefan declares that he really does love her. Gabi responds that when he decides that she’s the only woman he loves, he can call her then as she then storms out of the mansion.

Steve continues talking to his vision of Kayla, who tells him about being in a locked room in Heaven and seeing Adrienne but it turned out to be Nick Fallon, who tricked her in to signing away her soul.

Eric and Sloan laugh together while Nicole complains to EJ that the PDA at their table has ruined her appetite. Nicole asks EJ what his excuse is. EJ responds that he just has a headache. Nicole questions him having a headache again and feels his face, which Eric notices. Nicole notes that EJ doesn’t feel like he has a fever. EJ responds that he just feels a bit off. Nicole suggests maybe her hangover was a bug she passed on to him. Nicole wants to check if they have aspirin. EJ says that’s not necessary but Nicole insists that he needs to take something for his headache. Eric realizes he forgot his glasses in the car to read the menu, so he gets up to go get them but realizes he left his keys. Eric turns back around but runs in to Nicole right as she gets up from her table.

Johnny brings Wendy to the DiMera Mansion where they see Stefan cleaning his shirt in the living room. Johnny points out that they have servants for that. Stefan responds that he can handle it himself. Johnny guesses his evening didn’t go very well. Stefan admits that it sucked because Gabi walked out on him.

Li calls for room service but hangs up when Gabi arrives at his door, asking if his dinner invitation was still open. Li says of course it is and invites her inside.

Steve talks to his vision of Kayla about her, Kate, and Marlena signing their souls away. She says somebody needs to help them. Steve says he would do anything but he doesn’t get this because Heaven is not a place of corruption. Kayla wonders if they got sidetracked from Heaven somehow and says whenever she’s in trouble, she turns to him, bringing up how many times he has rescued her. Steve wishes he could’ve saved her this time. His vision of Kayla asks him to help her one last time. Steve tells her to just tell him what to do. Tripp then comes home and finds Steve asleep on the couch. Tripp asks if he’s okay and who he was talking to. Steve responds that Kayla was there. Tripp calls that not possible. Steve insists that Kayla told him that she needed his help because Nick Fallon tricked her in to selling her soul to the Devil. Tripp says it was a dream and he was talking in his sleep. Steve swears that she was there and it was real. Tripp understands he’s thinking about her because today is their wedding anniversary and tomorrow is her funeral. Tripp notes that Steve also had a certain amount of beer and he totally gets it. Steve decides maybe he’s right, but it felt so real.

Eric tells Nicole that he was worried about her after she fainted, but she seems fine today. Nicole assures him it was nothing and asks how he is doing. Eric says he’s fine. Nicole calls that hard to believe since Marlena, Kate, and Kayla’s funeral is tomorrow. Eric would rather not talk about that. Nicole just wanted to say she was thinking about him and his family but tells him to forget it as she sits back down. Nicole realizes she forgot to get EJ’s aspirin. Eric goes back to his table and realizes he forgot his glasses. Sloan tells him to forget about it because she’s had enough of this for tonight and asks if they can just go home. EJ offers to take Nicole home and says they can go out on another proper dinner date another night.

Li is curious why Gabi is there since she made it clear on the phone that she had no interest in seeing him. Gabi claims that she realized they should talk about the divorce. Li thinks back to Sloan telling him there are ways to drag it out. Li tells Gabi that he doesn’t want a divorce, but he knows she does and he loves her enough to want her to be happy, so he will talk to his lawyer to get the ball rolling. Gabi asks if he’s serious. Li responds that he always is. Gabi thanks him. Li says it’s the least he could do.

Johnny questions Stefan calling Gabi “Chloe”. Stefan says he didn’t mean to but he’s clearly still not thinking straight. Johnny and Wendy blame it on Li, Kristen, and EJ. Stefan remarks that he was everybody’s pet project. Wendy mentions hearing Dr. Rolf will be released on bail, so maybe he can undo what he did to him. Johnny encourages that Stefan can go back to the guy he used to be and that he hears that Stefan was totally in love with Gabi back then. Stefan confirms that he was. Wendy adds that his feelings for Chloe are like Dr. Rolf’s idea, so he should be able to make them disappear. Stefan responds that the weird thing is, he’s not sure that he wants him too.

Tripp starts cleaning up which Steve questions, saying that it’s Valentine’s Day so Tripp should be out with some nice girl. Tripp responds that all the nice girls he knows already have a date. Steve asks about Wendy. Tripp questions why he asked about her. Steve says he heard Tripp and Joey talking about her, so he suggests giving her call and asks what he has to lose. Tripp says he’d lose his self respect since she already has plans.

Johnny and Wendy question how someone could want to stay brainwashed. Stefan explains that what Dr. Rolf did only made him show up at Chloe’s door, the rest was him. Stefan says he started talking to Chloe and remembered how much he liked her which was well before he and Gabi were serious. Stefan adds that he and Chloe were getting somewhere which was not Dr. Rolf’s idea and then the truth came out, so he remembered how much he loved Gabi. Johnny comments that Dr. Rolf really messed with his head which Stefan acknowledges. Wendy guesses it must be pretty confusing. Stefan questions who says it’s not possible to have deep feelings for two different people. Wendy remarks that she can only imagine what that’s like while Johnny comments that stringing two women along like that doesn’t seem very manly. EJ and Nicole then come home. Nicole asks if they can join the party while Stefan calls it more of a wake.

Li asks Gabi if she’s had dinner which she admits she hasn’t. Li says he was just about to order room service, but he can order for two. Li then points out that she’s not with Stefan on Valentine’s Day. Gabi responds that she was with him and they were going to make love for the first time in forever. Li asks what happened. Gabi claims nothing. Li says she’s been obsessing over him since finding out he was alive, so he questions what stopped her tonight. Gabi then reveals that Stefan called her Chloe which causes Li to bust out laughing.

Eric brings Sloan home. Sloan calls Valentine’s Day a bust. Eric is sorry they didn’t get to have dessert. Sloan thinks they can still salvage the evening, assuming he still wants to do that. Sloan knows tonight was awkward and tomorrow will be one of the worst days of his life, so she will understand if he just wants to call it an evening, but if he wants to rip off her clothes and forget about everything else in the world, she’s up for that.

EJ and Nicole head upstairs. Nicole says she doesn’t know what was going on downstairs with Stefan but she didn’t want to hang around and find out. EJ says he didn’t either. Nicole adds that there was enough awkwardness for the evening. EJ then informs her that he heard what Eric said to her about her fainting in the park and questions why she didn’t tell him. Nicole calls it just a couple seconds and no big deal. EJ says it is to him. Nicole asks why. EJ brings up that Nicole said she changed her mind about them sleeping together. EJ tells Nicole how lovely and desirable she looks this evening. Nicole reminds him that they’ve been taking it one day at a time for exactly one day now. EJ points out that she didn’t seem so reluctant yesterday but supposes that was the alcohol talking. Nicole doesn’t know why since she only had two drinks. EJ suggests a kiss goodnight which Nicole calls an excellent next step as they then kiss.

Gabi tells Li to stop laughing as it’s not funny. Gabi blames Li for the whole nightmare since he played God with Stefan’s life. Li responds that he did that because he’s crazy about her. Li adds that Dr. Rolf could do whatever he wanted to him and it would never change that he’s crazy in love with him. Li says it makes him sick when Stefan is playing both ends when he could have Gabi all to himself if he wanted which is all Li wants. Li adds that if he ever went a little overboard, that’s why. Li admits maybe he went a lot overboard. Li asks Gabi to stay for dinner, which she agrees to do.

Stefan tells Johnny and Wendy that if they are hungry, the kitchen is cooking dinner for two and he’d hate to see it go to waste. Wendy jokes that they were just going to have popcorn which Stefan questions being dinner. Johnny explains that they are going to be streaming Evil Dead 2. Stefan jokes about Johnny knowing how to treat a woman on Valentine’s Day. Johnny remarks that he seems to be doing better than Stefan did. Stefan tells them to enjoy their night and exits. Johnny tells Wendy that maybe he’s right if she wants to watch something else. Wendy responds that she doesn’t care what they watch as she just wants to be with him.

Eric tells Sloan that he thinks he wants to go to bed. Sloan says she understands. Eric clarifies that he means with her. Eric wants just what she said, to forget about everything else in the world and be with her. Eric and Sloan then start kissing.

EJ tells Nicole that he guesses this is goodnight. Nicole says what the hell and continues kissing EJ. EJ stops her and asks if she’s sure. Nicole says yes, unless he’s not. EJ then opens the door to his bedroom and she pulls him inside as they shut the door.

Tripp brings Steve a drink to restore his electrolyte balance. Steve thanks him and tearfully calls him a good son. Tripp tells his dad that he loves him. Tripp asks if he’s going to get some sleep. Steve says he will eventually and tells Tripp to go ahead as tomorrow is going to be a long, hard day. Tripp says goodnight to Steve and heads to his room. Steve starts to cry and thinks back to his last wedding to Kayla. Steve asks how he’s supposed to let Kayla go. Steve insists that seeing her earlier was just so real and questions where she is. Steve adds that he would go anywhere to help her as he holds their wedding photo. Steve declares that his vow to her remains the same; he will love her until the end of time. Steve wishes Kayla a happy anniversary.

At Basic Black, Brady finds an arrangement of roses for Valentine’s Day sent by Stefan to Chloe. Brady dumps the roses in the trash and drops the card on the floor. Brady then pulls out his phone and calls Chloe. Brady leaves a message, saying he knows he’s left 20 messages since she checked out of the Salem Inn but he’s worried about her and no one he knows has seen or heard from her. Nicole then arrives and reveals that she has.

EJ and Stefan enter the living room of the DiMera Mansion. Stefan praises Nicole for closing an Italian deal for Basic Black and being on fire. EJ says unlike him and remarks that he doesn’t know what’s wrong with him. Stefan comments that EJ lost his train of thought, but thankfully Nicole was there to save them and bring it home. Stefan asks if EJ is alright. EJ says he’s just a bit foggy again but it will pass. Stefan suggests he needs a good stiff drink which he accepts. Stefan then goes to pour EJ a drink and drugs it again.

Gabi joins Rafe in his office at the police station and questions what is taking so long. Gabi complains that she hasn’t heard from anybody and tells Rafe that he needs to release Dr. Rolf now so he can finish fixing Stefan. Rafe reminds her that he’s happy to do that as soon as Dr. Rolf comes through with the goods on Li Shin.

Sloan goes to Li’s hotel room and informs him that Dr. Rolf wrote a long statement, detailing everything Li had done to Stefan, but as their attorney, she convinced him not to sign it and that it was his best chance to avoid being charged. Li remarks that speaking of charges, he got her first bill. Sloan responds that she may be easy, but she’s not cheap. Sloan asks him what’s wrong since she just made the Dr. Rolf problem go away, but he still doesn’t seem happy. Li responds that he is, but now he just wants to know what she’s going to do about his Gabi problem.

Nicole questions Brady trashing the roses and picks up the card to see they were from Stefan. Brady states that Stefan needs to go back to Gabi. Nicole is pretty sure that was the idea of the forced deprogramming she put him through. Brady mentions Anna telling him about that and asks if Gabi really held Stefan prisoner in the DiMera basement which Nicole confirms. Nicole explains that Dr. Rolf showed up to zap Stefan’s brain but his machine broke halfway through the procedure, so Stefan does love Gabi now but he also loves Chloe. Nicole talks about feeling bad for Stefan. Brady continues to argue that Stefan should be with Gabi. Nicole agrees that Brady should be with Chloe and mentions that she even told Stefan that after the procedure. Brady asks Nicole about speaking with Chloe and if she’s okay. Nicole says kind of but she’s freaked out since she’s been on an insane roller coaster caught between Stefan and Brady. Brady brings up that Anna told him that Chloe went to the DiMera Mansion to tell Stefan that they shouldn’t see each other anymore. Nicole confirms that and brings up that once she got there, Stefan’s feelings for Gabi were back and Chloe just had to get out of there. Brady asks Nicole to tell him where Chloe is, but Nicole says she can’t. Brady questions why not so Nicole reveals that Chloe doesn’t want to see him either because she’s still upset about him breaking up with her out of the blue and moving Kristen in. Brady argues that now she knows why he did it but Nicole says that Chloe doesn’t understand why he didn’t confide in her first. Brady complains that he couldn’t because Kristen was blackmailing him. Nicole explains that Chloe still wishes he told her so she could help him and that he trusted her. Brady repeats that Kristen was threatening him with Marlena, Kayla, and Kate’s lives and then they died anyway. Brady admits maybe he should’ve said something, then maybe they would have been saved. Nicole says what happened to the women is not his fault. Brady says all he knows is that they are gone. Brady complains that this tragic set of circumstances and then losing Chloe is all too much. Nicole encourages that he hasn’t lost Chloe and she’s just overwhelmed and needed space. Nicole reminds Brady that she is on his side and she wants him and Chloe to be together. Brady asks what if they are stuck in love limbo indefinitely. Nicole says nobody wants that including Stefan. Nicole declares that sooner or later, Dr. Rolf will finish the procedure and everything will go back to the way it should be; Brady with Chloe and Stefan with Gabi.

Gabi complains to Rafe that this waiting is torture, so he needs to release Dr. Rolf. Rafe tells her to chill while Gabi complains about Stefan having feelings for her and Chloe. Rafe says he feels for her and that’s why he’s trying to get the information on Li. Gabi doesn’t want to be reminded that she’s married to him. Rafe says he’s trying to get the evidence to charge him. Gabi thought Dr. Rolf was writing his statement. Rafe confirms that he did, but then Sloan walked in and somehow kept him from signing it.

Li tells Sloan that Gabi is infatuated with Stefan and hates his guts. Li brings up Gabi wanting a divorce. Sloan reminds him that they can fight that and says she could drag it out in court for months or even years, though it could get expensive. Li assures that money won’t be an issue and tells her to just keep him out of prison and keep him in his marriage. Li says he’ll find a way to get Gabi to forgive him and forget all about Stefan.

Stefan gives EJ his drugged drink and claims he hopes it will get him to shake off the cobwebs. Stefan toasts to always looking after each other and to family. Before they take their drink, Chad walks in and says he wants in on this as well. Chad hugs them and mentions hearing about Stefan’s impromptu session with Dr. Rolf and that he got his feelings for Gabi back when Stefan confirms. Chad is happy that Stefan is back in the right state of mind but admits he still has reservations about Gabi. EJ adds that he does too but their reunion isn’t a done deal yet, because Stefan still has feelings for Chloe. Stefan remarks that there are worse fates than being in love with two beautiful women. Chad is not sure he agrees but says since it’s Valentine’s Day, he will drink to that. Chad says first he needs a drink, so EJ offers him his drink which worries Stefan.

Brady reminds Nicole that it’s Valentine’s Day. Nicole says she promised Chloe that she wouldn’t tell anyone where she is. Brady says he just wants to talk to her but she’s not answering her phone. Brady wants to be able to ask how she’s doing, tell her that he misses her and that he loves her. Nicole promises him that Chloe knows. Nicole reminds him that tomorrow is Marlena’s funeral, so she thinks he should just let this go for now and focus on helping his family get through that. Brady agrees to try and decides he doesn’t want to talk about himself anymore. Brady asks how Nicole is. Nicole says she’s fine and hungry. Nicole mentions closing the Italian deal. Brady questions her about calling in sick yesterday about a weird hangover. Nicole calls it weird because she only had two drinks but felt like she got hit by a trick. Brady tells her that she’s not the only one because Eric is drinking. Nicole says she knows because she ran in to him yesterday and his breath smelled like beer. Brady informs her that Eric invited him to join him which surprises her. Brady assures that he declined but he’s worried that Eric is not in a good place. Nicole points out that he did just lose his mom. Brady says that’s definitely part of it, but he thinks there’s a little more to it. Brady argues that he thinks Eric and Nicole miss each other more than they’ll ever admit. Nicole doubts Eric’s drinking has anything to do with her since he’s moved on and prefers hanging out with Sloan Peterson. Brady asks what about Nicole as he hears she’s been hanging out with EJ. Brady questions what’s going on there and if Nicole has moved on.

EJ decides he doesn’t need the drink right now. Chad asks if he’s okay. EJ says he has a bit of a headache and tells Chad the drink is all his. Stefan interrupts and offers to get Chad a fresh one but EJ says it’s fine as he didn’t touch it. Chad then takes a drink of the drugged drink but spits it back out, noting that it was so strong and asks what he put in it. Stefan guesses it was too much of something. Chad decides he’ll get a club soda and goes to dump out the drink which he calls disgusting.

Rafe tells Gabi that they are lucky that Dr. Rolf isn’t on some DiMera Island and the judge saw that he’s a flight risk, so he denied him bail. Rafe assures Gabi that Dr. Rolf is not leaving the police station until he signs his statement. Gabi points out that his lawyer won’t let him. Rafe feels five minutes with Melinda Trask will make it clear that Dr. Rolf either flips or he’s going away for life. Gabi argues that Melinda can do that after Dr. Rolf wipes Chloe from Stefan’s mind. Rafe says Melinda is gone for the day, so it will be first thing tomorrow. Gabi cries that she needs this done today because it’s Valentine’s Day so she and Stefan need to be together. Rafe encourages her to look on the bright side as not long ago, Stefan couldn’t stand the sight of her and now he’s in love with her. Gabi continues to bring up Chloe. Rafe bets it’s temporary. Gabi asks how he knows and continues complaining about Chloe. Rafe reminds her that Stefan said many times that Gabi was the love of his life. Gabi questions why he isn’t with her then and why they are not together on Valentine’s Day. Gabi worries that Stefan wants Chloe more than her.

Sloan reminds Li that he’s told her multiple times that Gabi hates him. Li acknowledges that she has good reason to. Sloan is curious on what Li’s plan is to turn that hate back in to love.

Jada runs in to Stephanie outside the Brady Pub. They hug as Stephanie thanks her for sending flowers after Kayla’s passing and says it was so thoughtful. Stephanie says she’s been meaning to call her. Jada tells her not to worry as she knows she’s dealing with a lot. Jada asks how she and Steve are doing. Stephanie admits they are all a mess and she doesn’t know how they will get through Kayla’s funeral tomorrow. Jada assures that they are all here for her and her family, tomorrow and always. Stephanie tells her how much she appreciates that and asks how Jada is. Jada says she’s fine and just focused on work. Stephanie mentions hearing that she and Eric broke up. Jada says it’s fine and just wasn’t meant to be. Stephanie asks if Jada is still living above the Pub. Jada says she’s been so busy with work that she hasn’t been able to look for a new place. Jada adds that she and Eric seem to be on different schedules so they haven’t run in to each other much. Eric then approaches and greets them.

Brady asks Nicole again what’s going on with her and EJ. Nicole claims not to know what he means. Brady brings up that they have been married twice and now she’s living in his house, so he was curious if there’s anything romantic going on or if he’s right that she just can’t get Eric out of her head. Nicole says she has a meeting to get to and encourages Brady to hang in there as she’s sure that he and Chloe will get back together before he knows it. Nicole then quickly exits the office.

Stephanie decides she should get going. Jada tells her to call if she needs anything. Stephanie hugs Eric and says she’ll see him tomorrow as she then walks away. Jada tells Eric that she’s sorry about his mom, aunt, and stepmom. Eric thanks her and says he knows she and Kate got close. Jada talks about Kate being there for her. Eric comments that it’s nice to see she’s moved on. Jada mentions that Eric has too since she heard he’s dating Sloan Peterson.

Sloan brings up Li saying he didn’t want a divorce but he felt he had no choice and there was no way to turn this around. Sloan reminds him that she told him to think outside the box, so she assumes he took his advice with his renewed confidence. Sloan asks what his plan is. Li responds that it’s not fully formed yet so he’s open to ideas. Sloan tells him that she can handle the legal side but not the personal issues like love. Sloan states that Valentine’s Day is just another day to her. Li asks for her suggestion since he loves Gabi but she despises him. Sloan sees a man sitting in his hotel room, who is careful and deliberate. Sloan says if there’s one thing she’s learned, if you want to get anything, you have to be aggressive. Sloan advises him to stop worrying about how other people will feel about what he’s going to do and just do it. Li comments that she sounds a lot like Gabi. Li says underneath Gabi’s tough exterior, she’s a huge romantic. Sloan thinks he has found his play. Li agrees that he shouldn’t try to win Gabi back with logic, reason, or the perfect argument to change her mind and he should instead go straight for her heart.

Chad gets club soda and asks what they should toast to next. EJ proposes a toast to Chad’s new beginning with Stephanie which they drink to. Chad says he’s sorry to break up the party but he promised the kids pizza for dinner. Stefan says to send Thomas and Charlotte hugs from their uncles. Chad agrees to and wishes him luck with his situation because he’s going to need it. Chad then exits. Stefan offers EJ another drink to celebrate their victory. EJ thanks him but says he’s going upstairs to shower to try and clear his head. After EJ heads upstairs, Stefan shuts the doors. Stefan tells the portrait of Stefano and tells him that he’s not going to kill EJ, he’s just going to give him a few more doses so that he feels like going off the deep end and then he will be out at DiMera. Stefan declares that he will turn his attention to vengeance tomorrow because tonight is for love as he pulls out his phone..

Rafe reminds Gabi that Stefan said he loved her with all his heart. Gabi confirms that they kissed like they’d never been apart which is why she doesn’t understand why Valentine’s Day is almost over he hasn’t called yet. Rafe bets that Stefan is planning a special surprise for her and that her phone is going to ring any minute. Gabi’s phone then does ring which excites her, but it’s Li. Gabi answers and Li says he’s so glad she picked up. Gabi says she’s not and questions why he is calling her. Li tells her that it’s Valentine’s Day, so a husband is calling to invite his wife over for a romantic dinner. Gabi tells him that he nauseates her so the thought makes her gag. Li suggests they can discuss their divorce then. Gabi tells him there’s nothing to discuss and to just sign the papers, so she can be done with him. Gabi tells Li to lose her number and hangs up. Rafe says he’s sorry but he had a good feeling. Gabi then sees a missed call from Stefan and gets excited that he left a voicemail. Gabi plays the voicemail on speaker and listens to Stefan say it’s Valentine’s Day and he can’t stop thinking about her. Stefan asks her to come see him at the house as he’s counting the minutes until they are together again.

Eric informs Jada that he and Sloan are a casual thing. Eric asks if Jada is seeing anyone. Jada says she’s not really looking to get in to anything right now. Eric says things didn’t work out between them but he wants her to know that he thinks she’s great and whoever she chooses to be with will be a lucky person. Jada tells him to enjoy his night and heads in to the Pub. Eric then pulls out his phone.

Nicole goes to EJ’s room at the DiMera Mansion, looking for him. EJ then comes out from the shower in just a towel. Nicole says she just wanted to check on him since he seemed a little out of it at the office. EJ says he’s fine now as the shower seemed to do the trick. EJ asks if Nicole managed to shake off the last of her nasty hangover. Nicole assures it’s all done now. Nicole decides she will go but EJ reminds her that they agreed he would take her out on a proper dinner when she was feeling better. EJ asks if Nicole is up to it tonight.

Stephanie goes to see Chad at the Horton House and says she got his message, inviting her over so here she is. Chad asks if she’s okay. Stephanie admits that tomorrow is weighing on her but she’s trying not to think about it. Chad hugs her and says he’s here for anything she needs. Stephanie thanks him and says it means a lot. Chad asks if she’d rather be at her home. Stephanie assures that she’s exactly where she wants to be and she’s glad he called. Chad jokes that he was scared she got a better offer for Valentine’s Day. Stephanie asks what could be better than pizza with her new guy and his two adorable kids.

Sloan guesses Gabi is not coming over. Li confirms that she said the thought of having dinner with him makes her physically ill, but he knows underneath, her feelings for him are still there because that passion doesn’t just go away. Sloan guesses there will be no Valentine’s Day reunion then. Li guesses he’ll just waste another day here alone, unless Sloan wants to have dinner with him. Sloan admits she can’t say she’s not tempted, but then she gets a call from Eric, who asks if she has plans tonight. Sloan says possibly but Eric tells her to break those plans because he thinks they should have dinner. Sloan suggests meeting at her place in 30 minutes but Eric says he was thinking a restaurant and invites her to the Bistro. Sloan agrees to see him there and hangs up. Sloan then tells Li that she’s sorry as she has plans tonight, so Li’s going to have to eat dinner on his own. Sloan then exits the room.

Stefan sets up a candle lit dinner at the DiMera Mansion as Gabi then arrives in a red dress.

Rafe is picking up a cheeseburger at the Pub when he sees Jada having a beer, so they decide to sit together.

Nicole questions EJ wanting to go to dinner tonight, reminding him that it is Valentine’s Day. Nicole says a meal with him is kind of a big deal. EJ tells her that what happened at the office today is kind of a big deal, one they wouldn’t have closed without her. Nicole is not sure about that. EJ says he was struggling hard but Nicole came in with confidence and carried them over the finish line, so that’s an achievement worth celebrating. Nicole says that’s nice of him but points out the holiday. EJ tells her the deal was an Italian deal, so they can pretend they are in Rome where it’s February 15, a regular day with zero expectations. Nicole tells EJ to go get dressed and she will change, then they will head out.

Sloan meets Eric at the Bistro. Eric greets her and tells her she looks great as he pulls her chair out. Sloan wants to get straight that she knows it’s Valentine’s Day, but this is not a date, and she only came for the ribeye so he can get rid of the side order of romance.

Stefan tells Gabi that she looks beautiful. Stefan tells her about an opera and hearing a song in his head and heart when he looks at her. Stefan says he’s so happy that she accepted his invitation. Gabi asks why he went through all this trouble if he had any doubts. Stefan says it’s never any trouble to make the woman he loves feel special. Stefan points out that he got their favorite wine.
Gabi can’t believe he remembered. Stefan responds that he remembers everything now. Gabi says there’s nothing more she wants than for that to be true as it’s all she has wanted since he came back. Gabi talks about it not just being sex but their love and magic. Stefan then kisses Gabi.

Chad and Stephanie finish eating pizza. Chad hopes she saved room for dessert as he then calls Thomas and Charlotte in to the room. The kids reveal that they made Stephanie a cookie valentine. Chad says they had been baking all day long. Stephanie calls it so thoughtful and beautiful as she thanks them. Stephanie then informs them that she brought them a Valentine’s surprise too and gives them a box of heart candy. Thomas opens his box to give one to Stephanie. Stephanie offers to share her cookie but Thomas says they had their cookies. Thomas suggests she share her cookie with Chad.

Jada tells Rafe that it’s nice sharing a table with him. Rafe thanks her for letting him join. Rafe and Jada toast to a Happy Valentine’s Day.

Chad jokes about the kids being out like a light after their sugar cookies. Stephanie calls the cookie so special. Chad tells Stephanie how special she is and says it means a lot to her that his kids are so happy around her. Stephanie says she loves being around them too and their dad as they then kiss.

Eric tells Sloan that they don’t have to call this a date, so Sloan asks what they are going to call it. Eric suggests foreplay. EJ and Nicole then arrive at the Bistro and see them.

Brady calls Chloe, leaving another message to let her know that Nicole told him that she’s okay which he’s happy to hear and that Chloe might need some space, so he’s going to respect that and give that to her. Brady adds the he loves her and misses her very much. Brady wishes Chloe a Happy Valentine’s Day and hangs up.

Li pours himself a glass of wine while looking at the other empty glass. Li then imagines if Gabi did show up to be with him on Valentine’s Day. Li finishes his glass of wine and then pours another.

Stefan asks Gabi if they should have dinner but Gabi doesn’t want to waste another minute and suggests they go upstairs which Stefan agrees with. Gabi tells Stefan that she loves him while Stefan responds “I love you too, Chloe,” leaving Gabi confused.

Xander and Gwen ask Jack and Jennifer if they are going to give them the Spectator or will Jennifer be going to prison. Jennifer responds that the answer is no. Jack tries to argue but Jennifer declares that they are not giving them the paper. Jennifer remarks that they can’t comprehend the amount of work and pain that Jack put in to the paper and insists that it’s a good paper that does something important in town. Jennifer refuses to let them slither in and take it from Jack. Gwen mocks Jennifer’s speech and brings up that it was Jennifer, who got high and hit her with her car and then drove off. Gwen calls that cowardly and illegal which means prison time. Gwen adds that as her victim, she thinks Jennifer richly deserves that. Jennifer says that’s something they can both agree on. Jennifer tells Gwen to go ahead and call the cops because she has it coming.

Leo sits in the town square, talking to himself about beginning to write gossip for the Spectator about Alex and Allie at the bar. Leo ends his statement by saying that the Kiriakis brothers have a penchant for breaking hearts. Sonny then walks up and questions what Leo is babbling about now.

Gabi goes for a jog until she comes across Wendy in the park. Gabi questions her not being at work. Wendy says she took an early lunch since things were pretty slow at the office. Gabi asks if that’s the only reason since she looks like she just lost her best friend. Wendy responds that he wasn’t her best friend and that they only knew each other for a couple months. Gabi guesses she’s talking about Johnny DiMera.

Johnny repeats to Paulina that if she’s worried about anyone coming in between Allie and Chanel, it should be Alex because he’s the problem. Johnny brings up Chanel always finding Allie and Alex together and also finding Alex’s underwear at Allie’s home. Johnny argues that stuff like that is messing up between Allie and Chanel, so if anybody is to blame for their problems, it’s Alex.

Allie tells Alex that Chanel cannot know he’s there. Alex suggests if they ignore her, she’ll go away. Chanel then finds her keys and begins to unlock the door while Allie asks Alex what now?

Wendy tells Gabi that after spending all that time together pretending to be a couple, she realized she was feeling things for Johnny and on New Year’s Eve, they kissed. Gabi guesses they faked something for so long that it became real. Wendy says that’s how it seemed, so they decided to start dating but the problem is, he’s still hung up on Chanel.

Paulina tells Johnny that she knows Alex is a bit of a loose cannon but he also makes a convincing scapegoat. Paulina argues that she wants to talk about Johnny and Chanel, but he keeps bringing up Alex, so she thinks he’s trying to blame Alex for something he did. Paulina says Alex may have a habit of showing up where he’s not wanted but there’s more than enough blame to go around. Johnny questions if it’s his fault that he and Chanel walked in on Allie and Alex together at the bar. Paulina says no but it is his fault that he almost kissed Chanel at the hospital and he’s the one that got Chanel all turned around. Paulina declares that Johnny can swear all he wants that it’s Alex’s fault, but it’s his too.

Chanel enters the apartment. Allie claims she was on the phone and apologizes for not letting her in. Chanel says it’s okay as she found her keys in the bottom of her purse. Allie questions what she’s doing here. Chanel responds that she wanted to talk to her about Alex.

Johnny tells Paulina that he gets she is protective of Chanel, but promises that he respects the fact that she is with Allie. Paulina questions how nearly kissing her does that. Johnny admits he went too far, but that’s over now and nothing happened between them. Paulina says Chanel told her that they almost did something they’d both regret. Johnny points out that they didn’t and they stopped. Paulina questions why his focus is on Chanel anyways and argues that if he really wanted to make sure nothing happened, he’d steer clear of her altogether. Paulina reminds Johnny that he and Chanel are divorced, then asks if there’s not another girl he could be chasing after..

Gabi questions if Wendy is just going to give up on Johnny. Wendy argues that she’s facing the reality that Johnny is still very attracted to Chanel, if not in love with her. Gabi argues that is not a reality, but a nagging doubt and not worth throwing in the towel over. Gabi reminds Wendy that she was the one who told her not to give up on Stefan. Wendy calls that different since Johnny isn’t being programmed to go after Chanel. Gabi feels that she was in a similar situation since Stefan was in love with Chloe and she thought it was a lost cause, but Wendy reminded her that she’s not someone who gives up. Wendy feels that no one would ever say that about her, but Gabi says she would. Gabi brings up that when she first met Wendy, she barged in to her hotel room to demand tickets to the DiMera Gala and then when she showed up in Salem, she demanded a promotion. Wendy feels that was no big deal but Gabi insists that it was. Gabi asks what’s different about fighting for a man and fighting for a job. Wendy responds that the job isn’t still in love with his ex wife.

Alex hides under the table while Allie asks Chanel what she wants to say about Alex. Chanel brings up last night when she saw them together and apologizes for what she said. Chanel admits she overreacted. Allie knows how it must have looked. Chanel acknowledges that it wasn’t that a big of a deal and she’s done her fair share. Allie suggests they go for a walk and talk about this. Chanel says she first has to say that she got so upset because of all the crap going on between them and that is on her. Allie disagrees but Chanel insists that she just jumped to the wrong conclusion when she found Alex’s underwear and she should’ve just listened to her since she is her girlfriend and she trusts her. Chanel declares that she wanted to come here and tell her that she believes her that nothing happened between her and Alex.

Leo informs Sonny that he is writing a gossip column. Sonny assumes he got hired by The Intruder but Leo calls himself a respected journalist that wouldn’t stoop to working for a rag like that. Leo then reveals he’s been hired by the Spectator which shocks Sonny.

Jack questions what Jennifer is talking about. Jennifer says she’s talking about finally paying for the crime she committed. Jack argues that this is giving in to blackmail while Gwen argues that Jennifer deserves to go to prison and just admitted it herself. Jack brings up Gwen drugging people and says she shouldn’t be the one talking about people who deserve to be punished. Jack asks about Sarah and how Gwen turned her in to a vegetable. Jennifer remarks that Xander did not exactly trade up. Xander holds Gwen back and acknowledges that Jennifer hates them for a reason. Gwen says if Jennifer is ready to face the music, she’s ready to call the tune. Gwen that calls the police and asks to speak to Rafe, saying it’s quite urgent.

Sonny tells Leo that it doesn’t make sense since The Spectator is a real paper that covers real issues. Sonny asks how delusional Leo is and if he actually got a contract. Leo admits he doesn’t have a contract yet. Sonny tells him not to hold his breath because Jack would never hire him and already turned him down. Leo argues that proves that Jack doesn’t know anything about running a paper and should’ve been forced out long ago. Sonny reminds Leo that Jack owns the paper. Leo says for now which Sonny questions. Leo then reveals to Sonny that Jack is giving the Spectator to his best friend Gwen, who is going to be the new editor-in-chief which shocks Sonny, who can’t believe it. Leo talks about always searching for the perfect words as a journalist and clarifies that it’s more like Gwen is prying the paper from Jack’s cold hands.

Gwen states that she is on hold and gives Jennifer one last chance to change her mind. Jennifer tells Gwen to do her worst. Rafe then answers the call. Gwen says this is urgent but Jack grabs the phone from her and tells Rafe that he’s sorry to bother him and that Gwen just wanted to tell him that he’s doing a great job. Jack hangs up and tells Gwen that she can have the paper which shocks Jennifer.

Paulina tells Johnny that Wendy seems like a really nice girl and very understanding of everything Johnny put her through with Chanel. Johnny confirms that she is and admits he really likes her and for a moment, he thought there was a real shot between them but that was before he blew it all to hell. Paulina says she’s learned in Salem that there is no such thing as blowing it all to Hell, or else she’d be single now. Paulina encourages Johnny to stop moping around and do something if he thinks they have a future. Paulina suggests Johnny find Wendy and tell her that he made a huge mistake.

Wendy tells Gabi that it’s not just Johnny being hung up on Chanel, but that she doesn’t know him very well. Gabi encourages that getting to know each other is the fun part. Wendy asks what if she finds things out about him that aren’t so great. Gabi calls that a negative attitude and says Wendy is expecting the worst. Wendy feels it’s for good reason since Allie said some scary things about Johnny, especially about how he treats women, almost like she was trying to warn her off. Gabi explains that Allie probably also thinks Johnny is hung up on Chanel and is mad at him. Gabi adds that it only matters what Wendy feels. Wendy admits that she likes Johnny, so Gabi tells her that if she wants Johnny then she has to fight for him. Gabi then walks away.

Allie tells Chanel that she’s right that nothing happened that night. Chanel apologizes for thinking that it did and assures that nothing happened between her and Johnny, but admits that Johnny did drive her home that night and for a second, she thought something might happen which Allie questions. Chanel explains that she was just so upset when she saw Allie and Alex together and thought she cheated on her, that she thought if she slept with Johnny, she could pay her back but thankfully she didn’t because Allie means way too much to her to risk losing her. Chanel adds that is why she wants to put all of this behind them and stop all this fighting so they can work this out. Chanel tells Allie that she loves her. Allie says she loves her too. Allie and Chanel then kiss, until Alex’s phone rings in the room.

Jennifer argues that Jack can’t give Gwen the paper and calls it wrong. Jack responds that what’s wrong is Jennifer going to prison. Jennifer complains that Jack spent his whole life building the paper. Jack says they built it and did what they set out to do. Jack cries that it was supposed to be Abigail’s legacy but Abigail is gone, so if giving Gwen the paper means Jennifer keeps her freedom, that’s an even trade to him. Jennifer thanks him. Jennifer asks if Gwen is finally satisfied since she came to Salem in the first place to make Jack suffer. Gwen responds that she just wanted what was hers. Jennifer argues that it was never enough and she had to make everybody else suffer. Jennifer says Gwen did everything she could to destroy Jack’s family and when that wasn’t enough, she took his life’s work. Jennifer asks if that’s finally enough and if Gwen is finally satisfied.

Johnny decides maybe Paulina is right that he just needs to let Wendy know how he feels about her. Johnny worries that he doesn’t know what to say after everything that has happened. Paulina encourages him to call Wendy and say it’s Valentine’s Day and he wants to see her. Paulina decides her work here is done. Paulina tells Johnny to stay away from Chanel as she then walks away. Johnny then pulls out his phone.

Alex stops his phone ringing while Chanel asks Allie if she’s going to answer that. Allie says no and blows it off as robocalls driving her crazy. Chanel then questions if Allie changed her ringtone. Allie claims that she did yesterday and asks who cares about her phone since Chanel is back. Chanel then gets her phone and says she has to check something first. Allie questions if Chanel is really going to call her phone. Chanel then calls Alex and his phone rings again. Chanel tells Allie it was a nice try and then calls out to Alex that he can come out now. Alex then reluctantly emerges from underneath the kitchen table as Chanel remarks that it’s fancy meeting him here.

Sonny questions what Leo means that Gwen pried the paper from Jack’s hands. Leo claims he’s in the middle of something and suggests they catch up later. Sonny stops him and says that’s not going to happen as he demands Leo tell him what happened. Leo asks him to just forget he said anything but Sonny refuses. Sonny declares that Leo is going to tell him what exactly went down between Gwen and Jack. Leo thinks that’s between Gwen and Jack. Sonny states that is between them as he grabs Leo and asks what Gwen did.

Jennifer mocks Gwen not being satisfied as she doesn’t think she ever will be. Xander feels this conversation has stopped being constructive. Jack asks if that’s because he got what he wanted or if he’s just trying to shield Gwen from being so fragile. Xander suggests maybe he’s trying to shield Jennifer from having to point out that none of this would’ve happened if she hadn’t gotten behind the wheel while high as a kite. Xander adds that not only could Gwen have been killed, but many innocent bystanders could have been as well. Jack argues that Jennifer is sorry for that. Xander brings up how Jack wouldn’t even have the paper if he didn’t blackmail it from Leo’s mother and says they can go back and forth on and on about their crimes. Xander doesn’t think they are enjoying their company anymore, so they will get going. Xander hopes they see this not as a door closing, but a window opening. Jack hugs Jennifer and tells Gwen to never call him “dad” again. Xander and Gwen then exit together.

Johnny sits outside the Pub and begins texting Wendy but he can’t figure out what to say. Johnny tells himself to just face the facts that Wendy doesn’t want to see or hear from him and he blew it. Johnny then gets a call from Wendy, who asks him to meet her in the park.

Alex tries to tell Chanel that this is not what she thinks as they got drunk last night, came back here, and he was in bad shape so he crashed in the office like last time. Chanel asks Allie if that’s true, but she admits that it is not. Allie then reveals to Chanel that she and Alex slept together.

Leo tells Sonny that he can’t reveal his sources. Sonny demands Leo tell him what Gwen did but Gwen and Xander arrive and separate them. Xander questions what Sonny thinks he’s doing. Sonny responds that he’s tracking down a story. Gwen warns Sonny that he will find out it’s not wise to attack one of her journalists. Sonny mocks them and questions if Xander is okay with stealing Jack’s newspaper after everything Jack did for them. Gwen argues that Jack gave it to her. Gwen says they are going to celebrate and invites Sonny to be Leo’s plus one but Sonny says he’ll pass. Leo tells Sonny that he doesn’t know what he’s missing. Leo, Gwen, and Xander then head in to the Salem Inn.

Johnny meets Wendy in the park and asks her what’s up. Wendy responds that she was wondering if he had any plans tonight.

Allie tries to explain to Chanel that it wasn’t anything they planned but Chanel screams at them and says they didn’t do anything to avoid it. Alex argues that Allie was just really upset about Chanel and he was a mess over Stephanie, so they thought they could go out for a drink. Alex blames himself. Chanel tells him to go away. Alex asks her not to blame Allie but Chanel yells at him to just go. Alex says he thinks they are great together and he cares about them both as he then leaves the apartment. Allie tells Chanel that Alex was trying to cover for her, but she was drunk and not what she intended to happen as she thought Chanel was going to hook up with Johnny. Chanel responds that she wouldn’t betray her like that but obviously Allie didn’t feel the same. Allie insists that she loves Chanel and only wants to be with her, so she asks if they can just forget this ever happened. Chanel cries that she’s sorry but she just can’t do that.

Wendy thought maybe she and Johnny could do something tonight. Johnny says he’d love to but he thought she changed her mind about him. Wendy responds that she did, but then she changed it back. Johnny points out that it’s Valentine’s Day. Wendy suggests they could see that horror movie but Johnny says that was one night only. Johnny then says it’s streaming, so they could go to his place and watch it together. Wendy says it’s a date.

Xander, Gwen, and Leo go to their room at the Salem Inn. Xander says he will go call for champagne. Leo praises Gwen for pulling it off and says everything is turning up roses. Gwen comments that it would seem that way. Leo encourages that by the time they make their mark on the Spectator, Gwen and Xander will be Salem’s hottest power couple. Gwen guesses they’ll just have to wait and see.

Jennifer tells Jack that she’s so sorry and says it’s all her fault because they could only do this to Jack due to what she had done. Jack responds that he only blames Xander and Gwen. Jennifer acknowledges that Jack tried so hard with Gwen. Jack doesn’t want to talk about them anymore and wants to spend Valentine’s Day with Jennifer. Jack suggests a romantic lunch at the Bistro which Jennifer says she’d like very much. Jack adds that giving Gwen the paper was selfish on his part because he just couldn’t live without Jennifer as they then hug.

Sonny goes home and calls Will, leaving a message to call him back because he will not believe what he just found out. Alex walks in and asks what he just found out. Sonny then informs Alex that Gwen, with the help of Xander, is stealing the Spectator from his uncle Jack and to add insult to injury, they hired Leo to run the gossip column. Alex remarks that it’s just what Salem needs, more dirt. Sonny notes that Alex seems to be in a foul mood. Alex calls that an understatement and says he just got back from Allie and Chanel’s. Sonny jokes that they usually have a lot of fun together, so he asks what happened. Alex responds that he destroyed their relationship.

Allie argues that this can’t be it and that Chanel knows how much she means to her. Allie calls being with her being like nothing she’s ever felt. Allie calls Chanel her best friend and says when Chanel kissed her for the first time, it opened up a new part of her that she didn’t even know she had. Allie cries about coming out to her family and friends and realizing how special it was and how lucky she was. Allie says they have been through so much together and shared so much. Allie repeats that Chanel opened up a new part of her and she loves her so much that it can’t be over between them. Chanel responds that she’s sorry, but it is. Chanel acknowledges that what she said is true, they did share everything and they did love each other, but now they are just hurting each other. Chanel declares that the last thing she ever wants to do is hurt her, so she thinks it’s best if they just end things now before they hurt each other even more. Chanel says goodbye to Allie and exits the apartment. Allie then breaks down crying.

Leo and Gwen sit in their beds in their room at the Salem Inn. Leo complains about how boring the Spectator is and says he can’t wait until Gwen and Xander take it over. Gwen sits nervously as she worries that Xander said he would be there first thing in the morning to talk strategy. Leo suggests Xander is probably just at the gym since working out his body is a full time job. Leo tells her to have a chocolate and relax. Gwen questions where he got the chocolates. Leo claims they were giving them out at the front desk but Gwen reads a card that came with them and realizes that he stole somebody’s chocolates. Leo assures Gwen that Xander will be there. Gwen asks what if he’s wrong and Xander changed his mind to go back to Sarah.

Sarah wakes up in bed with Rex. Rex says he’s been asking himself if there is a more beautiful sight anywhere in the world than a sleeping Sarah Horton and the answer is no. Rex surprises her with a rose and wishes her a Happy Valentine’s Day.

Johnny confronts Xander in the town square and accuses him of murdering his grandmother.

Chanel wakes up at Paulina’s where Paulina is making her famous heart shaped waffles. Paulina wishes Chanel a Happy Valentine’s Day. Chanel recalls Paulina making these every Valentine’s Day in Florida. Paulina figured she would revive them since Chanel is staying here until she and Allie work things out. Chanel informs her that after last night, she may be staying here longer than expected. Paulina asks what happened last night, so Chanel reveals that she almost cheated on Allie.

Allie wakes up in bed alone and complains of a headache. Allie thinks back to being with Alex last night and kissing on the couch. Allie tells herself that maybe it was just a dream but Alex comes out of the bathroom and asks if she has any aspirin. Allie then questions what she has done.

Jack is at home and comments that he’s being blackmailed by his own daughter and friend, questioning what the world has come to. Jennifer then comes home and surprises Jack, joking that she didn’t think she was gone long enough for him to start talking to himself. Jack then excitedly hugs her. Jack questions why she didn’t call him so he could pick her up from the airport. Jennifer wanted to surprise him for Valentine’s Day. Jack can’t wait to celebrate but Jennifer wants to know why he was so upset when she first walked in.

Johnny warns Xander that he’s a DiMera. Xander tells Johnny to get his facts straight because he had nothing to do with what happened to Susan as it was Ava who killed her. Johnny blames Xander for kidnapping Susan along with Bonnie. Johnny hopes it was worth it. Johnny argues that Xander could have turned Ava down but he didn’t because he’s greedy, worthless scum. Johnny remarks that he doesn’t know how a woman like Sarah Horton stays married to him. Xander responds that she can’t and reveals that Sarah is divorcing him, then asks if Johnny is happy now.

Sarah worries that Rex is upset. Rex senses some regret from her. Sarah assures that last night was great and reminded her of what it felt like when they first fell in love, but she’s just coming out of her marriage so she’s not ready to do anything with anyone, anytime soon as far as jumping in to things. Sarah asks if he can understand that. Rex responds that he can sure understand that she used him to get over Xander.

Allie starts freaking out and can’t believe what she and Alex did. Alex gets dressed and tells her that they did it more than once. Alex asks if it was that bad. Allie admits he was amazing so Alex jokingly asks if she wants to do it again but she says no. Allie calls what happened last night monumentally bad. Alex asks why she’s freaking out now when she was all about it last night even though they were both hammered. Alex asks if he misread things. Allie assures that she did want to sleep with him, but she can’t believe that she did this and completely betrayed her girlfriend.

Paulina asks Chanel how many times she has to tell her that she and alcohol don’t mix. Chanel assures that she and Johnny were not drunk. Paulina points out that someone polished off her wine. Chanel reveals that they poured it but did not drink it. Chanel explains that she ran in to Johnny, who invited her to a movie, but she offered to buy him a drink instead and they walked in to the bar to find Allie and Alex Kiriakis.

Allie goes over that first she cheated on Tripp with Chanel and now she’s cheated on Chanel with Alex which makes her a serial cheater. Alex tells her it’s not a big deal. Allie argues that she can’t have meaningless sex like him because she’s in a committed relationship or at least was until last night. Alex says he likes hooking up but saying it’s meaningless is not fair. Alex says the whole mess with Stephanie taught him things and says he’s not casual anymore as he now understands there can be real feelings involved, even love. Allie apologizes and says she’s just furious with herself but is taking out on him. Alex says it’s okay. Allie wishes she could go back in time and change the way she behaved last night, questioning why she got so upset about seeing Chanel with Johnny. Alex points out that Chanel was upset too. Allie points out that Chanel wanted to take her home and work things out, but she was such an unreasonable bitch that Chanel left with Johnny. Alex then tells Allie to look on the bright side; maybe they cheated too which shocks her.

Sarah tells Rex that she didn’t mean to make him feel used but Rex laughs it off and assures that it’s okay as he knew last night was all about rebound sex for her. Rex says he would have to be a complete idiot to think she suddenly fell back in love with him after all this time, but if being with him helps her forget about Xander then he’s happy to be of service.

Leo tells Gwen that there is no way that Xander is with Sarah since she wants nothing to do with him and he is totally in to Gwen now. Leo believes Xander and Gwen will be engaged again in a month. Gwen says that she and Xander slept together once and he made it very clear the next morning that he wasn’t ready to jump in to anything with her. Gwen worries that she scared Xander off by telling him that she loved him before they slept together which Leo calls her first and second mistake.

Xander tells Johnny the sad tale of his marriage coming to an end. Johnny thinks it’s fantastic that Sarah finally got the sense to dump him. Xander is glad his misery could bring him such joy. Johnny remarks that it will bring Sarah joy too when she moves on with someone else and calls Xander a heartless animal. Xander says he has to go but Johnny says they aren’t finished. Johnny reminds him that this conversation started with his role in his grandmother’s death, so it won’t be finished until he’s paid.

Jack reveals to Jennifer that Gwen and Xander are blackmailing him. Jack calls it so awful that it doesn’t seem real but it’s really happening. Jennifer argues that they can’t just hand over the paper as it’s their life’s work. Jack asks what choice they have since they are threatening to go to the police to tell them that Jennifer hit Gwen with her car while she was high on drugs. Jennifer says to let them and then offers to go to the police station herself to make a full confession.

Xander warns Johnny to let him go. Johnny asks if he’s going to kidnap him too. Xander argues that Susan was never supposed to get hurt and that he let her go. Johnny argues that he let her go straight to her death which Xander blames on Ava. Johnny bets that Susan prayed on her way down for herself and for God to have mercy on Xander’s soul because that’s the kind of woman she was. Johnny calls Susan kind, generous, and loving. Johnny shouts that Susan deserved a long life with a peaceful ending but that’s not what she got. Johnny says Xander can deny it or blame Ava all he wants, but he knows damn well the part he played in Susan’s death. Xander says he regrets what he has done. Johnny doesn’t want to hear it but he’s sure that Rafe would be very interested that Xander just confessed. Xander says he’ll just deny it since it’s hearsay. Johnny responds that he recently learned that there are loopholes around those kind of things. Xander tells Johnny that he is truly sorry about Susan. Johnny remarks that people like him don’t feel remorse. Johnny declares that Xander is not sorry, but he will be. Xander then heads in to the Salem Inn.

Paulina questions Chanel almost sleeping with Johnny because she saw Allie doing shots with Alex. Paulina argues that it was more innocent than she thinks. Chanel insists that she knows what she saw and that Allie was in to him. Paulina blames it on the alcohol. Chanel argues that Paulina is just making excuses for Allie. Chanel complains about Allie letting Alex sleep over naked, getting wasted with him, and giving all kinds of signs that she’s in to him but Paulina wants her to think it’s just innocent fun. Paulina says she’s just telling her that she likes Allie and the two of them together, so she doesn’t want Chanel to give up on her until she’s sure that Allie has given her a damn good reason to.

Allie finishes a call with Will and says she’ll be by to pick up Henry later. Alex apologizes for what he said before as he didn’t mean to upset her. Allie asks how he thought she’d feel about the suggestion that her girlfriend slept with her brother. Alex says he knows she was feeling guilty and he just wanted to make her feel better by saying they’d be even. Allie laughs at his logic. Alex admits he’s not a relationship expert, but he does know that Allie and Chanel have something special and he cares about them both, so he’d hate to think he played a part in messing things up for them. Allie says he isn’t a part of the problems they’ve been having and he didn’t betray anyone last night. Allie declares that this is all on her and it’s her mistake to fix. Alex asks what she’s going to do. Allie responds that for starters, she’s going to tell Chanel the truth that she and Alex slept together. Alex argues that the last thing she should do is tell Chanel about them. Allie questions if she should let her find out from somebody else. Alex questions how when nobody knows but them and he would never say anything, so as long as she doesn’t, everything will be fine. Allie disagrees and says she’s been in this situation before when she cheated on Tripp with Chanel and then Johnny told him about it. Allie says in Salem, secrets have a way of coming out. Alex talks about being a player before and finding himself in potentially disastrous situations, so he knows how to keep his mouth shut. Allie questions thinking she should lie to her girlfriend every day and ignore the guilt she feels of sleeping with him behind her back. Allie declares that it’s not right and she won’t do it, so she has to tell her. Allie argues that it’s the only way but Alex disagrees. Alex reminds Allie of how Chanel reacted to finding his underwear when that was innocent and nothing happened but she still freaked out and left. Alex tells her to just imagine how furious Chanel will be if she tells her that they actually did sleep together. Alex worries that Allie might not ever see Chanel again. Alex insists that it’s better for everyone involved if Chanel does not find out about what happened last night.

Paulina tells Chanel to finish telling her about how seeing Allie suck Alex’s lemon almost led her to doing whatever she did. Chanel wants to change the subject but Paulina insists. Chanel tells her that she and Johnny came back here and started reminiscing, so they almost kissed again but Johnny realized it would be a mistake. Paulina comments on Johnny showing some common sense for once. Chanel calls Johnny a decent guy who has been a really good friend to her. Paulina knows she’s been through a lot the last couple months and she will always be here for her, but Allie is her girlfriend and she needs her support. Chanel wishes she had it and she could be there for her too. Paulina tells Chanel that it’s time to stop wishing and she needs to move back in with Allie if she wants to fix things. Paulina instructs Chanel to go handle her business.

Jack tells Jennifer that it’s just a business but Jennifer argues that the paper is a part of who they are and it means nothing to Gwen and Xander. Jennifer doesn’t want to let them take more from them and says it means too much while Jack argues that she means more and she could go to prison. Jennifer argues that maybe it won’t come to that since it was an accident so they could put her on probation or suspend her license. Jack doesn’t want to risk it and says he’ll do anything to protect her including handing over the paper to the daughter he disowned and the son of a bitch that he was foolish to befriend.

Gwen sarcastically thanks Leo for pointing out all the mistakes she made with Xander. Leo says he didn’t mean to be discouraging and that he’s rooting for them. Gwen decides she can’t wait anymore but Leo encourages her to be patient and push her negative thoughts away. Gwen hopes that if she and Xander take over the Spectator, all those long days and nights will bring them closer in every way like it did for Jack and Jennifer. Xander then shows up at the door. Leo greets him as the boss and asks what to call him when he turns in his gossip column. Xander responds that he won’t be calling him anything, because they’re not taking the paper away from Jack.

Rex and Sarah get dressed. Rex asks if she’d be open to having a Valentine’s Day breakfast with him and promises it’s just as friends. Sarah accepts but Rex hopes she doesn’t feel guilty. Sarah insists that she doesn’t and that she and Xander are getting divorced even though she hoped he would change. Rex says people like Xander never do change.

Leo questions Xander saying they’re not taking the paper from Jack which he confirms. Gwen questions his change of heart. Xander explains that he just ran in to Johnny DiMera, who is distraught over the loss of his grandmother and he blames him. Xander notes that Johnny said he’s incapable of feeling remorse. Gwen argues that’s not true which Xander questions, pointing out that he kidnapped an innocent woman for money and now he’s extorting the one true friend he ever had. Leo argues that Jack does not deserve his pity and that he blackmailed the paper away from his mother. Xander tells Leo that he’s sorry but he’ll have to find another way to live out his fantasy as gossip girl. Xander declares that Jack can keep his paper and storms out of the room.

Jennifer and Jack talk about always thinking Abigail would take over the paper one day. Jack declares that as far as he’s concerned, he only ever had one daughter and he lost her, so he’ll be damned if he loses Jennifer too.

Chanel walks through the town square and finds Johnny sitting alone. She asks if he’s okay. Johnny responds that he’s just missing his grandmothers. Chanel says she’s sorry and asks if he needs anything. Johnny says he’s good. Chanel tells him that she’s off to try and hash things out with Allie after Paulina gave her another talking to. Chanel thinks Paulina is right since she really does love Allie and wants to be with her. Chanel thanks Johnny for being the voice of reason last night as she wouldn’t have been able to come back from cheating on Allie and probably would’ve ruined their entire relationship. Johnny wishes her luck. Chanel thanks him and walks away.

Alex asks Allie what she has decided to do about Chanel. Allie decides that she thinks Alex is right which he didn’t expect. Allie says she was adamant about coming clean and she hates lying but she can’t risk the consequences of telling the truth, so she agrees with him that it will be better if what happened last night stays between them.

Xander runs in to Rex and Sarah in the town square. Xander remarks that he thought Rex was working with Doctors Without Borders. Rex informs him that he’s in town to support his family after losing his mother and his aunt. Xander says he’s sorry and guesses Sarah is playing the role of supportive ex-wife by taking him to breakfast. Sarah then responds that breakfast was actually Rex’s idea because they woke up starving after spending the night together.

Leo complains about Xander picking now to grow a conscience and declares that Johnny DiMera has ruined everything. Gwen doesn’t think Xander’s 180 was about Johnny or Susan. Leo asks what she thinks brought it on then. Gwen worries that Xander realized he doesn’t want to be in bed with someone like her. Leo disagrees but Gwen says that what Xander was saying about being incapable of remorse is her influence. Gwen believes that Xander sees her as an evil temptress luring him back to do all the things that he worked so hard to stop doing and the things that make him hate himself the most. Gwen declares that she brings out the worst in Xander, unlike Sarah. Leo argues that Johnny just laid a guilt trip on Xander and he will shake it off. Gwen says all that talk about not wanting to be judged and wanting to be accepted for who he is, is just talk, as what Xander really wants is to be the man that Sarah is proud to be with and that’s why he killed their plan.

Xander tells Sarah that’s not funny and guesses this is her way of getting back at him for sleeping with Gwen but this is beneath her. Sarah and Rex talk about being in bed together and in the shower. Sarah suggests she and Rex go to the Brady Pub for breakfast, so they walk off together. Gwen and Leo then come out of the Salem Inn. Gwen calls out to Xander and asks if everything is alright. Xander responds never better and asks Gwen if she’s ready to go to the Horton House because they have a newspaper to takeover. Gwen thought he changed his mind but Xander says screw that and declares that nice guys finish last as he storms off. Leo encourages Gwen to go, so she follows after him.

Jennifer brings Jack her first ever Spectator byline from the attic. Jack recalls her story about a horse and how he was her editor. Jack comments on what a team they were. Jennifer asks if he’s sure he’s ready to let the paper go.

Johnny walks past the Pub and runs in to Paulina. Paulina warns Johnny to steer clear of her daughter.

Alex tells Allie that he should get going since Valentine’s Day is huge for Titan, so Victor will be blowing up his phone. Allie tells him to have a good day and thanks him for everything. Alex goes to leave but Chanel knocks on the door, calling out that it’s her and she can’t find her keys. Allie worries while Chanel looks through her purse for her keys.

Rex and Sarah have breakfast at the Brady Pub. Rex asks Sarah how it felt to give Xander a taste of his own medicine. Sarah admits it felt really good as they laugh together about it.

Xander and Gwen go to the Horton House. Gwen comments on not knowing Jennifer was in town. Xander guesses Jack filled her in on their proposal. Jennifer accuses them of extorting the paper from them. Gwen asks Jack if he will be handing over the Spectator or if Jennifer will be spending Valentine’s Day in lockup?

Johnny promises Paulina that nothing happened between he and Chanel. Paulina says she knows but that there’s obviously unfinished business between them, so she worries that if they keep having these close encounters then Chanel and Allie are going to be in for a world of hurt. Johnny tells Paulina that she should be more concerned with all the time Allie is spending with Alex because that guy’s the problem, not him.

Chanel continues knocking on the door, saying she knows Allie is in there since she saw her car outside and asks if she’s awake. Allie worries that this can’t be happening while Alex suggests maybe she’ll go away. Chanel then finds her keys and begins to unlock the door while Allie and Alex panic inside.
