[ Both laugh ] Drew’s plane was a chartered flight, and there was someone else onboard connected to lethe unlimited when it went down over the gulf of aden. How long has the wsb been sitting on this? Yeah, I don’t understand. I thought this was supposed to be a thorough investigation back in 2019. How come we’re only hearing about lethe unlimited now? Well, clearly, there was more to this crash than we’d been told, and, you know, this — there has to be a reason for that. Maybe the reason is because drew is still alive. What the hell is going on here?! Now, I paid good money for a romantic trip to st. Lucia, not some — some death plunge. I don’t often give way to terror. This was an exception.

[ Sighs ] What — what is that you’re clutching? Just a little keepsake to remind me of my children. Ah. Perhaps nathan was watching us — over us just now. We seem to be turning around. What? Maybe there’s a problem with the plane. Where’s the pilot? Hello? Hello? H-hello? Nobody’s answering. What the hell’s going on?

I don’t know what to tell you. The wsb had full control of this investigation, which means… if the name the other person onboard was omitted, it was done deliberately. So this mystery passenger could be connected to the wsb? I-I wouldn’t be able to say with any certainty because, um… I have clearance issues.

[ Sighs ] Dante knows that I-I’ve been blocked from several active cases because the bureau believes that I was compromised by peter. Dante: To that end, is it possible that the wsb still doesn’t trust you? I mean, are we sure we can trust that this information is accurate? Chase: Hey, guys. Hey. Hey. [ Chuckles ] I-I think what he means is, is that you’re, you know, you’re well put together, and being a doctor and all, you probably haven’t had a lot of time camping. Hmm. Chase: Maybe not lately. But finn used to camp all the time when he was violet’s age. Are you sure? Oh, yeah. I’ve heard plenty of stories. Our dad used to take him camping year-round. Even in the snow? Finn: Even in the snow. You know, snow is kind of tricky because you have to find the right place to set up your tent, right? Packed snow is a lot better than soft snow, so you have to stomp around the campground so you make it nice and flat, and then you put your tent on top of it. Whoa. Can we go camping in the winter? Only if the car breaks down.

[ Elizabeth laughs ] Chase: Oh, come on. Snow camping sounds like an adventure. Actually, it was. I remember when we were warm in our sleeping bags and the wind was howling outside our tent, I would imagine that we were the sole survivors of an avalanche. Were you scared? No, I knew my dad would protect me. Just like you protect me? Always, sweetheart. That’s a promise. So jordan said cyrus has already targeted someone? Yeah, and apparently, the feds were able to intervene and protect them. I bet it was laura. Yeah, I just got her rsvp to our wedding, and she said she can’t make it, that she’s stuck in D.C. For weeks at a conference. And you don’t — you don’t buy it. No, no, I don’t, because spencer is back in town, and things blew up big time between him and nikolas. When spencer broke his leg, laura dropped her entire life and flew to france. She would be here right now for her grandson. I’ve done my fair share of roughing it. I’d forgotten about that. There’s a lot we don’t know about each other. So you don’t think I trust you to do your job? Where’d that come from? Look, I’ve had conversations with the higher-ups at the bureau, and yes, my integrity took a hit because I sought to protect peter. But I have since assured them that that is no longer the case. You know, the only way that I am going to redeem myself is if I participate in his capture and I take him down. Well, let’s presume now that peter caused drew’s plane crash, right? Yes. So…maybe you raised some red flags by requesting this file. If this info is real… maybe you’ve alerted the person who’s trying to cover this up. But if that were the case, the request alone would have been enough and it would have been denied. Unless they’ve given you what they want you to see. Look, uh… if — if this file has truly been altered, then — then that is a major cover-up. And… that just begs the question why? Okay, the meat’s on marinade. Your dad’s pantry is impressive. We don’t have to get much of anything. Yeah, dad’s a foodie. Thank goodness for that. Your dad’s gonna flip out when he finds you’re making dinner for him. Does he know you cook? I didn’t know I cooked until this summer. I mean, isn’t it strange that I move into a dorm with no kitchen and then I have the sudden urge to cook up a storm? I mean, it’s probably some deep-rooted psychological response to you leaving home, but it’s still good that you’re doing this for him. Yes, well, hopefully, it’s a tasty reminder that I love him and that I’ll always be here for him. I know that he could use the pick-me-up. Any specific reason? Look, my mom and my dad act like it’s all cool around me, but, um, I can tell that things are definitely not cool between the two of them. Okay, martin grey checked out of the hotel — this just days after he asked me about our yearly rate versus our month-to-month. Okay, so you’re telling me laura and martin suddenly leave town? Yeah. That’s not a coincidence. No. I hope they’re okay. Jordan said the feds derailed whatever cyrus had planned. Alright, well, I’m relieved for martin and laura, but what about us?

[ Sighs ] We have to assume that cyrus is gonna make a move against us at some point. He may already be trying. Oh, my god. Okay, first, jax tries to trick me into incriminating myself, and now we’re back to looking over our shoulder because of cyrus? Okay, look, I know this whole thing with jax is painful, but jax is not a threat. Cyrus could be. Okay, what are we gonna do? I’m gonna get to the bottom of it. Sonny: I know it’s — it’s a long shot, but the guy was always so creepy around me, like he had leverage he wanted to spring on me.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah, that’s — that’s peters arrogance. He always thinks that he’s the smartest guy in the room. You know how — how I told you that… not having a past makes you pay more attention to the present? There’s something like I’m feeling, like I’m — I’m listening more and I’m watching more. And peter, just from the beginning, he gave me bad vibes. Scott: Nina?! I-I don’t know what you’re talking about. I-I think the lack of oxygen is already affecting your brain. I really, really trust your intuition, mike, and… I only wish that I would have listened to you about elijah in the first place, but I have learned my lesson and I am listening now. And peter — he is gone, and I couldn’t be happier. I just hope that we don’t spend our first date talking about peter. If I learned anything from lenny’s passing, it’s that there’s no use in wasting time worrying about the future because what’s gonna happen is gonna happen. All we have… is right now. So what do you say we make the best of it? Of course I want to protect you. It’s part of my job as a cop. We both know what I’m talking about, jordan, just like we both know I can handle myself. No question. But it’s still my job to find naomi dreyfus’ killer. It’s not a stretch to think that whoever tried to kill hayden six years ago is connected to whoever did kill naomi. If that’s true, it means I inadvertently covered for this person by pleading guilty, and I have no intentions on letting that stand. Now, you and i can investigate separately, or we can do it together and find the truth that much sooner. Okay, I made these sandwiches so that we can have a picnic by the lake. Oh, we barely got out of there alive when he blew the place up and himself in…2014? Yeah. Victor cassadine was in charge of the wsb at the time. Oh, yeah. That was awful. It was a very dark path for the bureau under his leadership. Yeah. There was… unsanctioned illegal covert activities the whole time. Think about it. Drew was held at crichton-clarke when victor was in charge. They messed with his memory, they programmed him to be their assassin until drew was able to break their programing. So what are you getting at? Maybe the wsb took down drew’s plane.

Here it is. Okay,this is my grandmother’s recipe, so I’m really hoping that I can pull this off. But first, we got to read it, and it’s in cursive writing. Oh, wow! What is it? It’s a stew that lady jane used to make every fall. Look, I know it’s still warm outside, but my dad just loves it. Yeah. And stew shouldn’t be hard, right? Oh, my gosh. The cook time is three hours. We’re gonna be starving by then. We need appetizers, like cheese and crackers. Oh, we got to do better than that. Oh, I remember seeing one that I liked today. Hold on. Let me see if I can find it. Yep. Baked mozzarella with marinara sauce. So we’re gonna need bread for the dipping, spinach, cheese, and sauce. And I have the perfect sauce — the one I got from nixon falls. What? Remember, I was starving, and while you were waiting for your dad to be discharged, I went to find something to eat? This cute lady at the roadhouse gave me this pasta, even though the bar doesn’t serve food, and she gave me the jar of the sauce because I was raving about it. And do you still have this sauce? My mom and I ate half, but I froze the rest. It’s enough for the appetizer. Trina, I don’t need you going through all this trouble. I could just go get sauce from the supermarket. No, no, I don’t mind. The sauce is amazing. And it’s just what we need for tonight. Alright. Trina for the win.

[ Both chuckle ] The wsb is responsible for drew’s plane crash? I don’t know, I think that’s — that’s a bit of a reach, isn’t it? Is it really, though? Because there’s a big gap in this file. That normally indicates a cover-up. Well, if it was a real cover-up, wouldn’t they have just wiped lethe unlimited and this anonymous passenger from the record altogether? Maybe it wasn’t a sanctioned cover up, but it could have been someone from within the bureau. So maybe they didn’t get all of victor’s allies when the wsb cleaned house after his death. Okay, so then it would be someone with enough authority to be able to conceal the identity of this anonymous passenger, but not enough reach to be able to eliminate the records entirely. Someone that could still be working at the bureau and at least was there in 2019. Why is that water so cold? It had all summer to heat up. So cold, so cold. We’re gotta get this fire going. Okay. Chase: You two okay?

[ Groans ]

[ Chuckles ] Yeah, never better. Mom, you were so worried about violet slipping in that you fell in instead. Then daddy tried to help you and he fell in, too. Ha-ha, that was so funny, and your concern is so touching. Thanks for swooping up violet. I’m too polite to gloat, but I find it interesting that the guy just relearning to walk was steadier on the rocks than either of you. Oh, but you’re not gloating. Yeah, no gloating, are you? No, not at all. Why don’t you guys get out of your wet clothes? Aiden, violet, and i can get the fire started. Oh, it’s almost done. We’re still watching the meteor shower, right? [ Door closes ] Alright, brick is checking with all his contacts to see if anybody’s dealing with cyrus or anybody heard any rumors about him coming after us. Okay, and I just got off the phone with devin. Josslyn’s fine. She’s at jax’s house. Okay, good, and I told tony to arrange for more security at the wedding. Where all of our loved ones are going to be… in one place.

Can I just play devil’s advocate? Yeah, please do. So lethe unlimited is a multinational company with varied interests. It has employees all around the globe. What if this anonymous passenger… was just a legitimate coincidence? Well, they do have an office in addis ababa. So what, you’re saying that this anonymous passenger was really a lethe unlimited executive who just happened to grab a seat on that charter flight that peter was sabotaging and just got caught up in it? I don’t know. I guess — I guess it’s possible.

[ Scoffs ] Then why conceal the person’s identity? Rick is a security genius. Between him and the rest of our people, the wedding is gonna be safe. I know. I trust you, okay, but it’s unsettling that cyrus still has allies on the outside. His organization is shattered and in pieces. Where is he finding these people to carry out his revenge?

[ Sighs ] Just right in front of our faces. Cyrus must have aligned himself with one of the five families.

[ Chuckles ] Don’t shoot. I come bearing refreshments — two lemonades and doughnuts from kelly’S. Think of everything. So have you given any thought to my suggestion? You’re right. We can get a lot farther working on this together. For real?

[ Chuckles ] Well, the doughnuts must have sweetened the deal. It didn’t hurt. But yes, let’s do this. It would be a waste of your time trying to track down public information that I can get much quicker. So we can work on this together, but only when I’m off duty. Are you ever off duty? That’s my final offer. Take it or leave it.

[ Sighs ] Fine. I’ll take it. Alright, well, so far, I know naomi was murdered and whoever killed her tried to make it look like a suicide or an accidental O.D. What don’t I know? Just so happens I got new information on naomi’s case just this morning. You okay?

[ Chuckles ] I can hear your teeth chattering over here. I don’t know why I can’t get warm. It’s not like it’s freezing outside. I’m just freezing inside. Mm. Talk about something warm. Maybe power of suggestion will help. Yeah? Yeah. I think I got a place. One of my favorite memories… I was in namibia for a year, just south of the sahara. It’s one of the driest, most remote places on earth. It’S… picture desert as far as the eye can see, but not just any desert. It’s vibrant. It’s warm. Red-colored swirls of sand… culminating in the most beautiful sand dunes you’ve ever seen. Like cascading waves of sand in a burning sun… against a blue sky that seems to stretch forever and ever. And endless horizon. In the late afternoon, all the colors soften to pinks and purples. And a warm breeze engulfs your skin and you feel like… or not.

[ Chuckles ] You’re still shivering. Sounds beautiful. You’re really lucky you got to experience that. I’m still chilled to my bones.

Fair warning — the kitchen is a mess. Oh, don’t worry. I’ll help you clean it up. Now, behold everything you need for your recipe, including the to-die-for sauce! Oh, and I am most appreciative, especially since you’re donating this miraculous sauce for my dinner. Just save me a bite or two so I can have one last dip. God, is it really that good? Trust me, it will change your life. Okay. Vincent novak was here earlier, and he made a point of telling me that he was sending joey out of the country and there would be no more trouble from his family. The novaks are gonna try and make a run for our territory. It wouldn’t be the first time they challenged us. Look, carly, right now, we can’t rule out anything or anyone. Hope you had a nice flight. What have you got for me, mr. Buscema? We’ve been tracing naomi’s movements leading up to her death. She wasn’t lying when she told finn that she’d just returned to the U.S. Passport control confirmed that naomi flew in from paris a day before she came to port charles. Okay, so she flew out of paris. That’s charles de gaulle airport. That’s like saying laguardia or jfk. She could be coming from anywhere. Well, that’s why I’ve requested her flight and ticket info — where it originated, the flight manifest. Maybe knowing where naomi came from can help us figure out why she ended up dead. Alright, so this other passenger was a person of significance, and that’s why their identity was omitted. So we just got to, uh, find out who this other passenger was. And if there’s any connection to victor’s tenure at the wsb. No, guys, maybe it’s simpler than that. Maybe this other passenger had a connection to drew. Mike?

Okay, so now that austin found out edward intended to add his father to the will, what’s next? Well, if the judge rules in austin’s favor, then he might be the deciding vote of who gets control of elq, so it will be up to us to try to convince him that keeping the family business in the family is better. Good luck with that. Yeah. My sentiments exactly. I’m so sorry, brook lynn. After everything you did to put your father in charge of the company, and now you’re back at square one. Not entirely. I still get to keep this baby safe. There’s no bigger payoff than that. Elq is thriving on my watch. I’m a very effective ceo. I’ve guarded the bottom line, protected cash flow. [ Laughs ] Too bad! Thank you so much for doing this. Really. Uh, I appreciate it. Really? Because I kind of got the feeling you two were humoring me. No, not at all. I mean, for some reason, this has been…hard. I mean, not marrying jason. That’s the easy part, but… it just feels really weird, and I don’t know why. I do. It was just so awkward. They were fighting in this weird, passive-aggressive way that I have never seen before. I mean, I know that they had that huge custody battle when I was a toddler. Yeah, but you don’t — you don’t have any memory of that. Oh, zero. All I’ve ever known is the poster couple for divorced parents. I mean, even during the times where my dad was furious at sonny, and I mean steam-coming- out-of-his-ears furious, my mom and dad always still shared a mutual respect for one another. I take it last night wasn’t like that. Uh, they literally couldn’t hide their resentment.

[ Sighs ] And, uh, the only reason I can think of… is because my mom’s marrying you. I’m so sorry, britta. Why? Because you got your heart broken. My heart is still intact, mother. And not by a man you can easily write off. I can tell that you had real feelings for jason, and now you’ve lost him. And that hurts. And I want to help you somehow. Yes, I’m hurt and angry and doing stupid things like making speeches about toothbrush heads that I won’t bother you with the details of. But do I wish that none of it happened?

[ Chuckles ] It stinks that it didn’t last… but that doesn’t make what jason and I had any… less meaningful. Sonny: Morning. Hi. Peter. This is phyllis caulfield. You’re the author. Peter sinclair. Pleasure to meet you. Same here. I’m so sorry to hear about your husband. Nina told me all about him last night. You were with, uh, nina last night? Oh — yeah, I slept at her place. I feel like an idiot. Why? I just had — I had no idea. I mean, I was so… focused on other things. Like saving your little brother’s life? Mm-hmm, amongst other things. You know, willow — she just seemed so loving and supportive. She still is both those things. She’s just not

in love with me anymore. Why didn’t she just tell you? When would’ve been a good time? When I collapsed and was on the brink of death? When I could barely walk and then couldn’t walk? I mean, it was just one thing after another. Okay, okay. What’s michael’s excuse, huh? That’s a pretty crappy thing to do to a buddy. Yeah. And I was pissed off, believe me. But once I thought about it, I mean, michael and willow were married, finn. They’re co-parents to wiley, something I put in motion, by the way. And they fell in love. They wanted to tell me, but there wasn’t really a good time for it. I mean, the timing was downright awful, actually, not because of michael and willow, but… because of peter. I just — I wish it was some trashy affair, you know? Willow lying, running around behind my back, but… it wasn’t like that. And that’s the part that hurts the most. Oh, I can take bailey to the nursery, if you guys want some privacy. Oh, please, bailey better get used to the drama if she’s gonna be in this family. Boy, that’s true. So how’s chase? Hurt. Sad. We both are, but we actually ended up in — well, “good” is the wrong word, but a better place. How very chase of him. Listen, brook lynn, I know you and chase are close, and I just want to say for the record that this was a colossal mess. And it was all my fault. Hey, this isn’t even close to being all your fault. No, I should have told chase the truth a lot sooner than I did. And I hate that I didn’t have the courage to. Michael and I were just having a conversation about this. Oh, don’t worry. No, uh, details were exchanged. Look, sometimes in life, you’re faced with a crazy situation, and no matter what your intentions are, you are forced to live with it. Look, willow, should you have told chase the truth? Yeah, maybe, but when? When he was dying? When he thought he was never gonna walk again? Look, you messed up, but it’s clear that it was out of care and — and kindness, not selfishness. That is very generous. And this is chase we’re talking about. I mean, he — he will find the grace to see it for what it is. Maybe not today, but he will. I’m hopeful for that, too. If we could all be so lucky. What do you mean? No, just, um, chase could have been more volatile, you know? Someone you’re scared how they’re gonna react if you cross them. Oh, you mean like every single member of our family? Yeah, that’s exactly who I was thinking about. It’s one thing to know you’re getting married, to be happy about it, even. And I am. It’s a complete other thing to contemplate spending the rest of your life with someone you didn’t think you’d spend the rest of your life with. You’re right. You’re right. I mean, I need to change my perspective. You know, this is an adjustment, but I’m still marrying jason, still gonna be wonderful, and the wedding will reflect that. It just needs to be significant. But understated. Yes, and that’s where you come in. Okay, well, have you thought about your vows? Do you want to go traditional or do you want to write them yourself? You want me to write jason’s?

[ Chuckles ] Well, why don’t we stick with traditional? I mean, if I have to stand up there and tell the world what jason means to me, we will be there all afternoon.

[ Chuckles ] Okay, traditional it is. This is gonna be a wedding to remember. I have no doubt about that. Typical, right? I finally find the perfect guy, and [Sighs] It turns out he’s bonded for life to someone else. Someone woefully inferior. Maybe. Definitely. Well, carly is a lucky woman.

[ Chuckles ] Thank you for your support. It really means a lot. But while I am pissed off and hurt and… all of the other things, I’m not sorry, mom. And — and that — that feels really good. Because when my other relationships ended, I was left with this feeling of regret, of second-guessing what I did, wishing I’d been different, better. But not this one. And that is something to celebrate. If you say so. I say so.

[ Chuckles ] Come on, lift your glass! There you go. Cheers. I just don’t understand why he has a problem with it. I mean, yes, you are in the business, but you’re a good person. And he knows that, so I don’t understand why he’s acting this way. I mean, unless he’s just flat-out jealous and still in love with my mom and can’t admit it. Okay, just listen for a second. No, just let me get this out, please. Okay. I love my dad with all my heart, but he is just wrong about this. I am so happy that you are marrying my mom. I don’t think that there’s one person on this earth that’s better for her or better to her. And I didn’t always understand that. I mean, at first, I was too young, then you were gone all those years. But when you came back and I saw how happy you made my mom and how she just trusts you and how that makes up for everything else… I don’t know. I just feel so bad that for the first time that I’ve witnessed anyway, my dad’s being a total jerk. I’m so sorry for your loss. I wish I didn’t know that pain, but I do. You’ve lost a child, as well. My daughter. We’ll always wish we could turn back the clock, don’t we? But unfortunately, we can’T. Yes, but how fortunate that we can take solace in other people who understand our pain. How long you staying, peter? Well, that depends. Uh, thanks to nina and her hospitality, I was only gonna be passing through, but now I think I’ll stick around a little while. Willow wouldn’t have an affair. She’s not a cheater. Yeah, I wouldn’t peg her as one, either. So if she’s with michael… that means she loves him. And having been loved by willow before… I know how lucky that makes him. And I can’t even say he’s undeserving. Michael — he’s — he’s a good guy. I know he didn’t set out to hurt me, it just… it happened that way. Wow. You are being way more forgiving about this than I think I could ever be. What choice do I have? Be angry as all hell. I was angry. But now, I’m just… I’m sad. I’m sad for what was. You know, what willow and I had… it’s gone. And I miss it.

[ Sighs ] But in the end, all I want is for willow to be happy. And she is. Okay. You know, you said something about… putting this in motion. When sasha and I lied. So if you could go back and do things different… would you? Speaking of family, can we just discuss for a second how you gave austin the keys to the kingdom? What was I supposed to do, brook lynn? Uh, destroy the evidence, shred it, don’t give it to — basically, anything other than what you did. You do realize there’s another copy of that memo out there, right? And doing something shady will only come back to bite us. You gave austin a leg to stand on, michael. You’re right, I did, and that’s not good. But it also doesn’t prove his case. Really? Yes. All it proves is that grandfather had a conversation with his lawyer. It doesn’t say anything about a will being drafted. It doesn’t say anything about him signing anything. People have wills drawn up all the time with no signature. It means nothing. And you really think the judge will rule in that direction? I don’t know. But I think it’s best to remain transparent. It makes damage control that much easier, and look, I-I know that you care so much about this because you want your father to be the head of elq. And I get that. That’s why when you did all that stuff with bailey and the shares, I stepped aside, and I think it worked. I think that we can retain control of elq. What if we don’t? Look, would that really be the worst thing? I’m sorry, I just — I can’t tell if you’re joking or not. Brook lynn, I hate to admit it, but valentin is a good ceo. He is. Look, we’re all making money. Elq is in the black. And whether or not you like it, I mean, valentin is part of this family now because of bailey, so if austin gets those stocks and he votes valentin in, would it really be the end of the world? Certainly not worth the backlash of doing something unethical. And I get you don’t see things this way because of your father. Michael, you are giving me way too much credit.

[ Gasps ] Maxie! Hi, liesl, britt. When did you get back? Uh, yesterday, and I’ve been nonstop busy ever since. Was your time in texas healing? I’m never gonna fully heal until louise is home and peter is behind bars, but, yes, being with family helped. So did seeing nina. You saw nina? Yeah, I stopped in nixon falls. Deception stuff? Yeah, that, and I’m up to my eyeballs planning jason and carly’s wedding.

Wie bitte? It sounded like you said “jason and carly’s wedding.” Because I did. Have you lost your mind? Your dad loves you, and he’s concerned about you. And I’m not gonna lie, he has every reason to be because the life your mother and I lead is — it’s not a normal life. Oh, that’s one way to put it. So jax is allowed to have a problem with that. But with that being said… I think marrying your mom is the right thing. And nothing your dad does is gonna change my mind or your mom’S. Oh, god, no. I mean, not that my mom has any doubts, but even if she did, the fact that my dad is acting this way would only make her more determined.

If I had to do it all over again, the selfish part of me would say yeah. Because I love willow, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. But the way it turned out… the most important thing happened. Michael and willow got wiley.

[ Sighs ] You made quite a sacrifice. I don’t know about that. Nelle was a horrible person. That custody suit could’ve went a lot of different ways, not a lot of them good. [ Sighs ] Now I get on with the rest of my life. I’m on the mend. I’m feeling stronger every day. That much is clear. I want to get back to work, back to being a detective… brother…. favorite uncle. Violet’s only uncle. Semantics. You know what? That gives me a great idea. You’re assuming I only want to protect my father, and yeah, of course I do. But I also don’t like austin. Period. [ Chuckles ] No, really, you are just such a good addition to the family. And that is not to say that I don’t have huge respect for you as a businessman, because I do. Monica filled me in. Oh, okay. Good. The other thing is, uh… willow and i are together again. I ended my marriage with chase. That’s great. I’m happy — I’m happy for you guys. Thanks. You know, actually, I was, uh, glad when I got your text. And why is that? There’s something I need to ask you. Hi, mom.

[ Sighs ] Josslyn… I’ve been thinking about you all day. Have you? Yes, I feel terrible about what hapned last night. It’s okay. It’s not. It’s not okay. Things got tense with me and your dad, and, I mean, last night was supposed to be about you. It was supposed to be a celebration, and I feel terrible. I just don’t want the disagreement I had with your dad to affect your relationship with him. I don’t want it to affect you at all. Mom — I just want you to let us handle our issue, and you just be the amazing college kid that you are. Mom! What? I already talked to jason. I’m good. You already talked to jason? Yeah, well, it’s just another great thing about you marrying him. For somebody who doesn’t speak a whole lot, he gives really good advice. He does. Not one of us can talk when it comes to being selfish. We have all had our moments. Preach. Hmm. Maxie, if you could do something for me? Anything. Make the wedding beautiful.

[ Chuckles ] I’m on it. I had never planned on having a happily ever after. I think it would be great if jason got one. That much generosity, I can barely handle. One ounce more, and your spine will have turned to pudding. Fine. The wedding can be “nice,” but maybe the band forgets an instrument or there’s a hair in someone’s soup. Mother! Not enough to ruin the day, just a minor hiccup. I’ll see what I can do.

[ Laughs ]

[ Chuckles ] You’re lucky that police officer didn’t realize who I was, despite all those clues you kept feeding him. Who knows? Maybe he filed all those clues away and is checking up on peter sinclair as we speak. Well, let’s hope not, for your sake. One siren in this direction… do not threaten my nephew again. Let’s bring it a little closer to home, then, shall we, nina? You built a nice, little, cozy family for yourself here in nixon falls. It would be such a shame if something were to happen to the widow caulfield, wouldn’t it? Or better yet, your precious mike, god forbid. Oh, you’re bluffing. Maybe. But do you really want to risk it?

[ Door opens ]

But no matter his feelings on the subject, I’m thrilled that you and jason are getting married, and I need you to know that. I do. That’s a perfect segue to our next topic of discussion. Which is…? [ Gasps ] Yay! For you? And you. My maid of honor needs to make a statement. Heck, yeah. Is that a yes? No, because it was never a question. Of course I’ll be your maid of honor. I can’t wait. Aww, yay! Oh, I love you so much. I love you, too. Everything okay? Yes, of course. I was just pitching an idea to nina — a true-crime story about a woman from a small town not unlike nixon falls, actually. And she has to do everything in her power to save the people that she loves. [ Sobbing continues ] Well? Uh, I said understated, remember? Ok, yeah, I-I guess polka dots are a bit much.

[ Laughs ] Um, I’ll find something less ’50s retro. Ok, alright. Can we do this another time? Because I’m meeting josslyn and jax in five minutes for a dinner date. Yes, absolutely. Ok. [ Sighs ] Hey, maxie. Why are you in nixon falls? Oh, no, no, no. The more interesting question is, what is sonny corinthos doing here, alive and well and calling himself “mike”? Peter, I’d rather talk about you. Why don’t we sit?

[ Chair slams ] We obviously have so much catching up to do, nina. That was kevin. He wants to talk about “our plan.” “Our plan”? Sounds ominous. Does he want us to get jobs?

[ Scoffs ] Bite your tongue. My grandmother leaves town for two seconds on mayoral business and all of a sudden kevin thinks that he needs to take her place. I didn’t mind the guy at first, when they first got married, but…it’s not even like he and I really kept that much in touch when I was away at school. I just don’t understand why he’s trying to intervene and take control of my life. Everything’s going to work out, spence. We have a plan, it’s just not the plan kevin thinks we should have. I never asked you to set fire to ava’s car. But now you have an alibi, and daddy dearest must be feeling pretty darn guilty about blaming you for stalking ava. You’ve got him right where you want him, so relax. Enjoy the moonlit pool… and your gorgeous girlfriend. Trina! Carly: You guys are here! Aww. And cameron, thank you so much for joining us. No one knew if you were dead or alive. Let’s just say I was lying low while searching for my precious louise. A search that’s taken me straight to maxie. Maxie, it’s wonderful to see you. How was texas? Agua dulce is always fun. Georgie and james really enjoyed seeing their great aunt. She, of course, spoiled them rotten. Wow. Bailey’s grown so much since I’ve been gone. Hasn’t she? A couple more pounds, she’ll be ready for management at deception.

[ Laughs ] Well, I’d be happy to work for her any day. Um, how is deception? I-I was on my way there right now. I thought I’d go through my accumulated messages. We just came from there. I was showing bailey off to some of the staff. Oh, my god! Is she wearing baby cartullo? You’re going to be so beautiful and stylish when you grow up.

[ Clears throat ] Um, I better go.

[ Chuckles ] Maxie, wait a second. There’s been a development in louise’s case. I have to talk to chase. We can’t leave things like this. Do you want me to come with you? Thanks, but this is between chase and me. Are you proud of yourself? Are there any other lives you’d like to destroy? Brook lynn. No, I mean it. This gatlin-holt creature better scram before we call the cops on him for trespassing. I’m not going anywhere until I get what I came here for.

[ Scoffs ] So if you don’t mind. You know what I mind? You manipulating chase to get this. That’s as underhanded as a person can get. No more underhanded than sleeping with a man’s wife. Trina! Are you here alone? I’m meeting joss and cam after their dinner with joss’s parents. I came a little early to work on an assignment in one of our electives at pcu we’re taking together. How adorable.

[ Laughs ] I’ve never had childhood friends that I’ve known since forever. I just love how close the four of you are. Oh, spencer and I aren’t close. We just met. Trina, don’T. You know that’s a lie. I was actually starting to believe that spencer was behind it all. I mean, the call from ryan chamberlain, the writing on the wall that said, “it ends tonight,” the power outage. And I would not put it past him. But when joss’s bodyguards started talking about getting joss and me off the island on a corinthos boat, I knew that spencer wasn’t pranking us. Well, it turns out that his father was pulling the strings. All to teach spencer a lesson, when he hadn’t even done anything. I mean… I mean, I guess he did throw a gigantic party without permission. Right, but he didn’t stalk ava. I mean, I-it blows my mind that his dad even thought he was capable of that. Yeah, yeah. It’s all kinds of wrong. Anyway, you know, I-I’m really sorry that tony called you. Oh, it’s ok. Yeah. Yeah, better to err on the side of caution and let your mother know what’s going on. I mean, your life, unfortunately, is more dangerous than the other kids your age. Even if… even if what? Well, even if you happen to be preoccupied with — with other things. I… I’ve never let other things, business, get in the way of protecting our daughter or my other kids. You know that. Yeah, dad, I — I really wasn’t in any danger. Yeah, yeah. No, no, no. We know that now. But, you know, it wasn’t that long ago when that novak guy approached you at kelly’s and harassed you, remember? Yes, but josslyn is fine. Mm. Just like I said she was going to be, so we can just let that go.

Don’t listen to this snake. Just let him slither on out of here, back under the rock that he came from. So you took advantage of a complicated situation that you know nothing about. Yes, chase has been through hell, but so has willow. But not that that mattered to you, because all you cared about was finding an opening you could exploit. Chase is a grown man. I don’t think I exploited him at all.

[ Scoffs ] Yeah, right. Look, despite what you think, I’m not some heartless bastard. Look, if I did let my baser instincts guide me, then maybe I do owe chase an apology. Yeah, and how’s that gonna make anything better? Look, all I’m trying to do is right a terrible wrong that was done to my father. My dad was not a perfect guy — far from it — but he was always there for me. He worked really hard to put me through medical school and in return… I watched him die a slow and painful death. Brook lynn: It’s too late. Any sympathy points that you earned for your dad were gone the second that you used chase to — to poke around in edward’s office. It’s a nice sob story, but we’re not buying it. Right, michael?

[ Sighs ] I-I’ll understand if you want to slam the door in my face, but… I would really like to talk to you. What else is there left to say? Besides the million apologies you probably don’t want to hear? The a/c conked out in my car. I could really use a glass of water.

[ Sighs ] I know what you’re probably going to say — that you didn’t start out intending to lie to me. Michael and I had just… realized how much we… cared for one another, and… I had come here to tell you. And then I was so sick that I passed out on the floor, and you took me to the hospital instead. A-and I get why you didn’t break up with me that night, but after that, you had plenty of chances.

[ Sighs ] And you were gonna tell me. The night of my pretend nantucket getaway. But then finn interrupted, saying he had the cure to the… poison that was killing me. And when it didn’t work, I knew I couldn’t tell you. Yeah, but you should have. And you should have turned down my marriage proposal. Chase. I could never say no to you when you needed me. You’re calling me a liar? I just meant you don’t need to cover for me. I told esme that you knew I was in port charles before anyone else. Spence and i have no secrets, trina wasn’t thrilled to find out that “victor” was just an alias and that I’m really spencer cassadine, but thank you for not telling anyone. Aww, treen, what a true friend. She is. I’m lucky to have her. Hey, bae, why don’t you rustle up some truffle fries for us? Are they as good as the ones we had in brussels that one time we sneaked off from midterms? We’ll find out. He’s so sweet, but you already know that.

[ Scoffs ] I really don’t know “spence” that well. It’s just us, now. We can be real with one another. I know you have a crush on my boyfriend. Since my own search for louise wasn’t turning up any results, I was hopeful that maxie might be following some leads. Was she following a lead? No. It’s all the same. I want to be the first one to find my daughter anyway, and when I do… maxie will have a choice —

if she wants to be in our little girl’s life, then she’ll have to share her life with me, as well. But maxie doesn’t even know that you’re following her. No. Once it was safe for me to resurface, I tracked her to texas. But when I arrived, maxie was already leaving. So then I followed her here, to this quaint little town and this quaint little bar… where I found you. And sonny. Maxie’s not here anymore. Yes, I’m aware of that, nina. I was about to follow her when I bumped into sonny — or is it “mike”? See, I’ve told you my story. Now let’s hear yours. Eight months ago, I was washed up in nixon falls with only the clothes on my back and a — and a watch that was engraved with my name on it. You know, and you not only gave me a place to stay, but you gave me a life — you gave me a family. One of them is lenny.

[ Sobbing ] Jax: To josslyn. Carly: To josslyn. Cam: To josslyn.

[ Laughter, cheering ] Speech. Speech. Oh, god. Ok, well, um, thank you guys for embarrassing me in a public setting, but I would not love you as much as I do if you hadn’T. And this in no way is goodbye. I’m still going to be home every weekend with my dirty laundry.

[ Laughs ] And I will be here for the wedding, of course.

[ Chuckles ] Oh, yes, the wedding. That’s right. Have you and jason set a date? Yeah, they did. September 17th. Wow. So soon. Why wait? I could think of a few reasons. Mom? Dad? Mm-hmm? Is there something wrong?

I’m almost certain that peter survived. Um, how is that a development in the search for louise? Peter’s very well-connected. He’s extremely well-financed. How well? Well, he’s faison’s son. He has access to all of his father’s assets and his contacts. If that’s the case, he’s throwing everything he has at finding louise, I think, and there’s a good chance he’s found her. Oh, I doubt that. Why do you say it like that? After I found out that jax and carly covered up the fact that nelle was my daughter, I desperately needed to get away. So… I came to this quaint little town, nixon falls, t-to visit a friend, phyllis — the woman you and sonny keep mentioning. Yeah, and I was just as surprised as you to find mike here. Don’t you mean “sonny,” nina? Come on, no one here except us. No need to use sonny’s alias with me, right? I can him “mike” because he’s “mike” to me. He’s kind and he’s gentle, and he loves the simple life I haven’t thought of him as sonny corinthos in a very long time. And how did this ma– “mike” come to be? He lost his memory when he fell into the river looking for julian jerome. Is the memory loss permanent? I don’t know. All I know, peter, is that he’s happy. And I didn’t tell him the truth because I thought it would ruin everything that he found here. Oh, nina. That’s so very thoughtful of you. I’m sure getting one over on carly corinthos… never even crossed your mind whatsoever when making that decision, did it? Nor the fact thatyou’ve fallen for mike. Your father and i had a little disagreement, but that’s ok, because tonight is about you. Absolutely. So we should order. Are you guys going to be like this all night? Like what? Ok. Uh… why don’t you and cam give jax and I a minute to talk? Just head over to the pool and I’ll call you when it’s safe to come back. Oh, great. Yeah, let’s go. I’ve never seen them act like that before. I mean, they have their fair share of arguments, trust me, but never in front of me or my friends. God, I cannot believe they acted that way in front of you. Joss, you don’t have to hide the messy parts of your life from me. My family’s far from perfect. Still. Joss, it’s me. It’s the boy you pushed into the sandbox when you liked my pail better than yours. The boy who went trick-or-treating with you all three years while you dressed up like a stalk of corn. Oh, cam. Don’t bring that one up. I know you, joss. I know your family. Look, I-I’m sorry that your parents are fighting, but it doesn’t matter to me. You’re so amazing and you make me feel like the luckiest guy in the world. It’s ok, treen, really. I only brought it up because, uh… I don’t want there to be any awkwardness between us. Why do you care if there’s awkwardness between us? Why are you going out of your way to be so nice to someone you think likes your boyfriend? Because you didn’t do anything wrong. I mean, spencer didn’t even tell you he had a girlfriend. And that doesn’t make you mad? You know how guys are. I mean, they’re denser than a redwood forest, and spence is no exception. I’m sure he didn’t mean to lead you on. I’m not into girl-on-girl rivalry. Do you walk on water, too?

[ Laughs ] I love your sense of humor! And you seem like a really nice girl. I’d like to be friends with you. At the very least, I’d like us to get along for spence’s sake. I can tell your friendship means a lot to him.

[ Clears throat ] What did I miss? Just a little girl talk. Willow: I never wanted to hurt you, but that doesn’t change the fact that I did. I gave you hope and then I took it away from you. When all I wanted to do was repay you for everything you’d given me. You talking about wiley? Before wiley. After I gave my baby to brad and lucas, I was so empty — so alone. I-I had no family, no one to turn to, and then in you walked. Detective harrison chase — handsome, intelligent, and above all, kind. Understanding. I thought, “I could build a home with this guy.” My horrible past no longer mattered, just the present and future that I was going to have… with you. And then… then sasha and i staged the affair. I understand where you’re coming from. I know what it’s like to lose a father — I lost my own recently. Sorry to hear that. But family was the most important thing to him, and I am like him in that respect. Family is everything to me, too. I’m not trying to threaten your family, michael. Coming after elq is coming after our family. How is that hurting anybody, brook lynn? By — by getting a few shares of elq? That document proves that edward wanted my father to have those shares. He’s not here — my father — to claim his rightful seat at the table, so I’m — I’m gonna have to do that for him. T-that’s very noble of you, austin. You know what’s not? Using chase. Taking advantage of a very painful situation. Why would I ever let you win by those methods?

I make a desperate play involving your friend chase, who’s not your friend, by the way, and that’s it? No coming back from that?

[ Sighs ] Well, I’m in no position to judge, am I? That’s another thing my father taught me — he could never stand a hypocrite. Michael, what are you doing? Have you lost your mind?! Austin played dirty. He did, but he’s not the only one. Our family has a history of playing dirty, especially when it comes to elq, so it’s time to break the cycle. Thank you. This means a lot to me. Yeah, well, don’t thank me yet. When sasha and I came up with the plan, I knew there was a possibility that I could lose you. I told myself that… it was worth it, no matter how painful, because I knew that it was more important that you and michael got custody of wiley. I know, chase. And then I-I took a step back and I didn’t tell you the truth when I saw how close you and michael had gotten. Then we started spending all this time together, and… it was like it was before. And I felt that if there was a chance for you and me, I should take it. You know, I wanted to take it. You know what really hurts willow? That I — I truly believed that you loved me as much as I loved you. Do you play tennis? It was mandatory at our school. Thankfully, I’m quite good, but spence is addicted. He’ll probably be playing all weekend. While he’s out pursuing athletic glory, can I interest you in a mani/pedi? What time looks good for you? Trina, we have a bunch of start of semester parties and events to go to, so you know what? I don’t think that you’re available this weekend. Oh, that’s right. I’m sorry. I’m totally booked. I hope you’ve known love in your previous life, mike. It’s the greatest gift a human being could ever receive. I’d be lucky to find, uh — what you and lenny had. But you have. [ Laughs ] It’s too late to cover. I saw the way the two of you were looking at each other. Now, let’s just imagine, shall we, what would happen if I told carly corinthos that her husband was alive and well, and being kept secret by you. How fast do you think it would take her to ensure that you would never see that little wiley ever again? Just tell me what you want. There we go. I’ve always known you were a smart woman, nina. Cards on the table, shall we? I found it very difficult, searching for my daughter while being forced off the grid, so I need some shelter and a base of operation. You’re faison’s son. Why don’t you just tap into his former contacts? Because it’d be so much simpler just to have you ask maxie and valentin for me, without raising any red flags. They trust you, and they’ll tell you what they’ve learned. And then you, in turn, will relay it to me so I can find louise first. And if I don’t do it? What did you think was gonna happen when you tried to blackmail me? It wasn’t blackmail. You recorded our conversation on your phone. You tried to get me to admit to criminal activity. I was trying to protect josslyn. We’ve been over this already. If you cared about protecting josslyn, then you would respect the decisions I make for her welfare. What about respecting my decisions? I mean, do you ever once see things from my point of view? I mean, in what world do you think that taking over sonny’s business is safe for our daughter?

[ Whispering ] Keep your voice down. Josslyn doesn’t need saving, and neither do I. You, on the other hand, can learn a lesson in humility. What’s that supposed to mean? What, you’re gonna tell josslyn what I did?

This may not be the proof you need to get a seat at the elq table. Why not? Well, because the lawyer wrote to edward after a conversation about changing his will, but edward never followed through. The will was never changed. But this serves as proof that edward was at least thinking about my father, and I — I’d like to believe that a judge would agree. Good luck, then. Thank you, michael. This would make my father just so happy. Brook lynn: [ Sighs ] Are you happy now? ‘Cause you just cost us elq. I pray every day that my daughter is returned home safe, but I’m done with false leads and dead ends. It’s part of the reason I left town. And I’ll never stop hoping that louise comes home safe, but until that actually happens, um, I need to focus on being my best self for georgie and james. And for me. It’s the only way I’m gonna heal. I don’t want you to take this the wrong way, ok? If you’re not ready to return to work, don’t rush it. Thank you, but I need to keep busy.

[ Chuckles ]

[ Voice breaking ] Even when it’s hard. If you will not help me find my dear louise, know this — james will be a more than adequate replacement. And if you even think about telling maxie, I’ll return the favor and let carly corinthos know that her not-so-dearly-departed husband is here, and exactly who he’s spending his time with. So you have a choice to make, nina. You either help me find my daughter… …or you suffer the consequences. Do I have your word that you won’T… touch james? If I have your word that you will do everything in your power to tell me where louise is. We have a deal. Even if nina and I… look, all she has to do is go to port charles, right? Spend time with her grandson. And then she doesn’t have to come back.

[ Chuckles ] Right? Mm-hmm. Ok. You can always come up with excuses not to go after something because you’re afraid. I can’t tell you the number of people who told me it was “too soon” to marry lenny. He could be deployed at any time. We’d be separated more than we’d be together. But I knew, mike. In my heart, I knew lenny was the one. My only regret is that we didn’t have enough time. I would never do anything to undermine josslyn’s relationship with you. Glad to hear it. But josslyn’s not a little girl anymore, as she keeps telling us, so if you want to stay on your moral high horse, you’re going to lose her all on your own. Is that what you’re hoping for?

[ Scoffs ] No! I always want you to be in josslyn’s life, even if you’re not in mine anymore. We’re always going to be in each other’s lives, carly, because we’re co-parenting josslyn. No, we’re not. Josslyn’s moving out. She’s moving into the dorm, ok? The days of us raising josslyn together are over.

[ Stammers ] Just because she’s going to college doesn’t mean we’re not going to see each other. We’re gonna be at volleyball games, graduation, a wedding, hopefully. Yes. Our paths are always going to cross, and josslyn is always going to connect us. But the days of raising josslyn are over. You and I are going to show up as mother and father, nothing more. You and I shared a beautiful, once-in-a-lifetime love. And then you sacrificed it for wiley and me. I will always love you for that. You know, sasha told me that you would leave me for michael. But I knew that it was worth the risk, because wiley is your life — he’s your whole world, and I couldn’t forgive myself if I did nothing to help you keep him.

You have been one of the mostimportant people in my life. Now you’re just gonna walk away? That’s it? You’ve been one of the most important people in my life. You gave me josslyn, and I’ll always love you for that, but I don’t trust you anymore. And let’s face it, you don’t trust me. Oh, come on. H-how many times have you forgiven sonny? Or h-how many times have jason and sonny forgiven you? I mean, were my actions really that unforgivable? You never used to live in a black and white world. I remember when living in the gray area used to suit you just fine. But you’ve changed, at least when it comes to my actions, and I can’t have someone in my life who’s going to judge me all the time or go behind my back and hurt me. So this is our new reality, and it’s totally on you. So you’re gonna have to find a way to live with it. I’ve been thinking… always dangerous. We’re going to be in port charles for a while, seeing through our plan. Your point? We may as well find something to do. Maybe we should perhaps preempt step-grandpa kevin.
