Which is where your body’s immune system mistakenly creates antibodies that attack your healthy tissues. And that can also cause blood clots in your arteries and your veins. Is that why I passed out? Most likely. And we think that that’s probably what caused the miscarriage. But you need to know that there are effective treatments.

What do you mean? Well, your dad had the idea to fly to Italy and elope. So we would have asked Sydney to be our witness and possibly Sammy. What, uh, what stopped you guys? I mean, aside from the fact that my mom might, you know, not give you her blessing. That’s not the reason. Actually, your cousin Dimitri took the family jet to Iceland for his honeymoon.

After everything she did to Chanel, how could, how could she be trusted again? Yeah, I don’t get it either, but bottom line is, I missed my chance and now I have to move on.

Hey, maybe Wendy’s brother can set me up with his matchmaker. Matchmaker? You don’t need a matchmaker. And why are you giving up so easily on Chanel? Unless I checked, you are a DiMera. I don’t know. Oh, you didn’t know. I thought everyone did. But we are in a relationship. We originally moved in together for convenience sake.

But then things just kind of progressed. Wow. And I’m sure your ex Brady is handling that with infinite maturity and restraint. Am I right?

It’s her crazy theory that I’m trying to destroy the company to get back at you.

Are you? Trust me, Titan is in very good hands. Sierra is just upset because I denied some of her business proposals, that’s all. So she ran to Grandpa with a silly accusation just because I didn’t give her a gold star. Sierra never said a word to me. I’m monitoring your business decisions, Peggy. Not only are they unsound, they’re reckless.

Based on what? Well, for starter, you substantially overpaid for a company that couldn’t possibly be integrated into Titan. No, that’s your opinion. No, that’s fact.

Also, you got your revenge against Xander when I handed you the company. That wasn’t enough for you. You had to get revenge against me as well. By imploding the company that I built from the ground up. God, was there ever a man that was… More enthralled with his own power. He pitted us all against each other.

Because he thought that that was bringing out our competitive spirit. Instincts. To make us better at business. Make us tougher. Make us more ruthless. We all hated it. But we all fell in line. Because… All we really wanted to do was please that man. Because…

We loved him.

Brady definitely didn’t take it well when he found out that Xander proposed. Xander

proposed to you? You’re not wearing a ring. Yeah, um, I told him I needed some time to think about it. Because of your feelings for Brady. Well, that’s part of it. But Xander only proposed after he found out that Gwen is marrying Dimitri and that Sarah is back with Rex. What? Rex never mentioned to me that they were involved again.

Oh, well, apparently they are, but my point is I’m just trying to get a handle on Xander’s feelings and mine. Oh, my relationship with Brady ended so abruptly, and, and honestly, there’s Philip. Philip? Yeah. He and I had gotten so close before he died, and then, hearing about Victor’s passing, it just, it brought back a flood of memories.

All the good times that he and I had together, and how, you know, we truly loved each other once. Kate, I can’t imagine how much you miss him. And the thought of losing a child, I, I just could not imagine that.

Why would Philip fake his own death? And he also framed Brady for the murder. But trust me, Victor, he was not in his right mind when he did it. She was a trollop, Chloe Lane. She, she, she drove him to this. I mean, he believes it. Everything he’s done he’s failed at. He believes that no one loves him. I’m afraid he really thinks that life is not worth living.

And then my assignment was to bring him the pawn. Who turned out to be John. A human being. That Victor won in some demented competition. And the poor dude was covered in bandages. He had no memory. Makes me sick to think about what I did back then. You were just a kid. No baby, I was old enough to make my own choices.

And I chose to take orders and money from a crime boss. That made me a criminal too. Victor Kiriakis was a very powerful man. He was intimidating, frightening.

Also, the whole thing was seductive. Yeah. Boy, was I in deep. But I finally realized I had to get out, no matter what it cost me. You give me some proof. Some absolute proof that Kayla’s not hurt. That she’s alright. And I’ll look for that key 24 hours a day for you. I’ll find it. I can’t do that.

That is not the reason that I don’t want to tell Philip. And he’s not that fragile anymore. Then why? Because if he finds out that his father’s dead, he’s going to come back to Salem. And then he’ll end up under arrest.

Look, I understand that you want to hold people accountable to the law, but, uh, this department, I mean, our resources are limited here, so don’t you think that we should focus on something with higher priorities? I’m the victim of a crime. That’s not a priority for you, Commissioner? Um, it’s a personal matter, and it’s one that I don’t think the police should be involved with.

Apparently, Abe Carver isn’t the only one with memory issues around here. You do remember who put you in this chair. He could organize a recall, but the general election’s less than two months away, so he’s probably just gonna run against you to try to get the power back that way, but either way, he’s gonna make your life very difficult, and Abe’s already been through so much.

I just don’t want to see you get hurt again. Neither do I. Your health has to be the priority. Once you start to remember, we can reconsider our options. Well, who knows when that will ever happen. Well, we do know engaging in any kind of very nasty, very public fight with that creep won’t help. Well, I can’t just sit back while Rollins tramples all over my constituents rights.

I, I… I have to try to do something. Well, not if it means putting your reputation and your recovery at risk. You know, I think that there might be a way to stop Rawlings without doing that.

Look, Philip faked his death, and then he framed Brady for it. Okay? If he had stayed in Salem, he would have either ended up in Statesville or Bayview. And either one, he would not have survived it. Even if he’s not locked up, I’m going to have to worry about Brady. I would have to, I would be worrying that Brady wouldn’t try to kill him for what he did to him. Look, I understand that you want to hold people accountable to the law, but, uh, this department, I mean, our resources are limited here, so don’t you think that we should focus on something higher priorities? I’m the victim of a crime. That’s not a priority for you, Commissioner? Um, it’s a personal matter, and it’s one that I don’t think the police should be involved with.

Apparently, Abe Carver isn’t the only one with memory issues around here. You do remember who put you in this chair. And I told you that I couldn’t accept the job, but then you said… That I would be unemployed if I didn’t. And now you serve at the pleasure of the mayor.

Unfortunately, there is. I mean, you’ve already seen how he’s used the media as a weapon, and… I think he could use the video from the press conference to stir up support and maybe showcase Abe’s memory loss and make him look unfit for office. To what end? He could organize a recall, but the general election’s less than two months away, so he’s probably just gonna run against you to try to get the power back that way, but either way he’s gonna make your life very difficult, and Abe’s already been through so much.

I just don’t want to see you get hurt again. Neither do I. Your health has to be the priority. Once you start to remember, we can reconsider our options. Well, who knows when that will ever happen. Well, we do know engaging in any kind of very nasty, very public fight with that creep won’t help. Well, I can’t just sit back while Rawlings tramples all over my constituents rights.

I have to try to do something. Well, not if it means putting your reputation and your recovery at risk. You know, I think that there might be a way to stop Rollings without doing that.

Look, Philip fate, his death, and then he framed Brady for it, okay? If he had stayed in Salem, he would’ve either ended up in Statesville or Bayview in either one. He would not have survived it. So, You and Victor sent him to a private psychiatric facility overseas to get him the help he needs. And to avoid arrest.

I mean, frankly, he was there avoiding police just as much as he was healing. Roman, if he comes back here, he’s going to be facing a serious prison term. He could beat those charges. Plead not guilty by reason of mental illness.

Even if he’s not locked up, I’m going to have to worry about Brady. I would have to, I would be worrying that Brady wouldn’t try to kill him for what he did to him. Brady is not going to murder anyone. Oh really? Don’t be so sure. Two weeks ago he lost custody of Rachel because he pulled a gun on Kristen.

Look, you are gonna have, well, Phillip, sometime you can’t hide this from him forever. I mean, Victor’s death is international news. Well, actually I have an arrangement, a facility, and they will keep him insulate. Sooner or later he is gonna find out, kid how? I mean now that that victor’s dead. Only you and I know.

And Rex and Lucas and, well, I did confide in Paulina. So you did say that Phillip is stronger now? Yes, but that’s just the problem. If he finds out that Victor’s dead, he’s going to insist on being with this fella. Not if you explain to him why he can’t. What? You can’t be serious. Can you believe it? We’re on our honeymoon and in Iceland. Although it’s, um, it’s not very icy. It’s actually quite green. Yeah, it’s incredible.

Okay, I’ve got two things planned for us today. First thing is we are going to go on a hike in the Eldron Lava Fields. And then after that… A soak in the hot springs. Uh, hopefully we don’t mix those two up. Yeah, that would be quite problematic, wouldn’t it? Um, right, so anyway, it’s um, now quite high tourist season, so we best get a move on.

The concierge has gotten us tickets, but I think it’s best to just get ahead of the crowds.

Dmitri? Why don’t you look? All that excited. Is something wrong?

You got me a plane ticket to Iceland? Keep scrolling. Your hotel reservation’s in there too. Oh, my darling. Is there something else that you’d prefer to do today?

I don’t think that we have to put a label on it, but I do think that if you have romantic feelings for Chanel, you need to acknowledge that. Be honest with yourself. I

I’m not really sure how I feel about Talia. It’s complicated. Uh, I mean, it’s like I said before, like, I think that I can get past what she did to me and that she and I could be friends. Just friends? Well, when Talia told me how she felt. My heart, it did skip a beat, but, but my head is nowhere near ready to trust her again.

Well, you know, you just need to take the time, Chanel. That girl has put you through a lot, like I said. Though it’s completely understandable that you’re not willing to rush into anything. But that’s over. And as we all are eager to hear what might be your agenda, I have an announcement to make. As of this moment, I am returning to my full duties as mayor of Salem. And my first official act will be to reopen my stepdaughter’s bakery.

I don’t know, I guess the reason I haven’t told Chanel how I feel yet is because I just, I, I, I… I don’t know if it’s the right time right now for that. And why is that? Grandma, she’s been through so much already. And now she’s dealing with the bakery being closed again. Not to mention I just made a pretty serious play for Wendy Shen.

And lost. I might not look very good if I just move on to someone else so quickly, you know? And then there’s my sister. I just went to New Zealand to visit her and things were great between us. Well, it sounds to me like you’re concerned about other people having feelings, having thoughts about it. It doesn’t matter. All that matters is how you feel about it, how you think about it. Like it’s, it’s always, always a risk to open up to somebody about your feelings, expose yourself and. Never being sure if they feel the same way about you.

I am perfectly, mentally, and physically capable of performing this job as mayor of this town. Um, Mr. Carver, uh, can you name all the members of the city council?
