There was a flashback to Tom and Alice’s first year of marriage. Maggie told Doug and Julie that Holly was okay. while they were talking, they talked about the Horton house. Maggie wanted to know if they were still going to the house. John, Marlena, Roman, and Kate talked about the fire at the Horton house. They wondered how the fire started. Doug, Julie, and Maggie were in the Horton house. They were all shocked at how the house looked. Leo asked Chad how he was holding up. Chad said he was doing his best. Leo said the kids were lucky to have him. Chad said the fire was his fault. He said he agreed to let the story run in the paper. Leo said Everett wrote the story. Chad said he approved of it. Leo said he did what he had to do. Chad said he felt as if he let his family down. Roman and John told Kate about the Horton house being in danger in 1986, While they were talking, they brought up Paulina having a heart attack. Roman talked about his partnership with Abe on the force. He said Tom and Alice being there for everyone. John shared a memory of Alice. Roman shared a memory about Alice. Lucas was dressed as a firefighter and showed up at the Horton house. He said he would never forget how the Hortons welcomed him as a Horton. Lucas flashed back to Alice welcoming him in the family. Lucas told Julie, Doug, and Maggie that no one could know he was at the house.

Leo told Chad to stop blaming himself for what happened. Chad appreciated what Leo said. There was a flashback of Tom and Alice while she was pregnant. They talked about getting another place. Alice was insecure about her looks. Tom told her she was beautiful. Maggie asked if Lucas escaped from prison. Lucas said he wasn’t. Julie wanted to know why they couldn’t say they saw him. Lucas said if anyone knew he was there, he would be in trouble. Julie and Maggie agreed not to say anything. Julie had a flashback of Alice. Roman and Kate showed up at the Horton house. Julie and Maggie told them about Tom’s chair. Lucas showed up. While they were talking, Roman and Kate said Clyde was after Lucas. John and Marlena showed up at the Horton house. Marlena reminisced about Tom welcoming her at the hospital. Maggie said Marlena treated Mickey. Marlena flashed back to talking to Tom and Alice about Mickey. Maggie told Marlena they were grateful that she helped Mickey. There was a flashback of Tom finding out Alice was pregnant with their fifth child. Julie and Doug told Leo and Maggie about the Horton family tree. John and Marlena found the Christmas ornaments. There was a flashback of Alice and Tom talking about the ornaments. While Thomas was playing by the chimney, a time capsule fell to the floor. There was a flashback to Tom and Alice getting the Horton house. Leo went to the Spectator and wrote a story about Hortons.

Brady and Marlena talked about John and his behavior. Marlena said Brady was acting like John. She said she knew he had a lot going on. Marlena said he was worried about Tate. She said she was concerned about him and wondered if she should be. Brady said she should be worried about him. Alex walked into the apartment and found Theresa packing. She told him she didn’t want to stay with someone who didn’t want her. Stefan walked Ava home. She told him she was taking a shower and then going back to the hospital. Stefan told her to stay away from Harris. Ava wanted to know why she should stay away from Harris. Stefan said they were supposed to be together and wondered how it would look to Clyde if she kept visiting Harris. Ava agreed not to see him. She said Tripp could be her eyes and ears. Brady told Marlena what happened with Kristen and Rachel. Marlena told him Rachel would love him no matter what he was going through with Kristen. She said he couldn’t fight in front of Rachel. He said he couldn’t help it because she drove him crazy. Alex told Theresa that he went to a meeting about dating people who were addicts and thought they were moving too fast. Theresa thought he was saying she was too much to handle. He said she had a child. She wanted him to say he had commitment problems or admit he didn’t want to be with her. Sloan talked to Melinda about Eric and how he hasn’t been there for her. Melinda said Eric loved her. Sloan said she has been playing second fiddle to Jude. Ava tried reaching out to Tripp, but he didn’t answer. She said something could happen to Harris without her there. Stefan said Harris wouldn’t know she was there. Ava said she would know he was there. She blamed herself for why Harris was shot. Stefan said it wasn’t her fault. Ava said it felt like it was. She vowed to kill the person who shot Harris.

Marlena told Brady she could help him with his problems with Rachel. Brady said he wanted to focus on seeing his son. He said he was relieved that he could see his son. Brady didn’t want to dump his problems on her. Marlena said his problems are never a burden to her. Brady told her about the letters Tate wrote to him and Theresa. He said his letter from Tate was cold because he hasn’t been in his life. Marlena said Tate was feeling distressed and treated unfairly. She said Tate was making him the scapegoat. Brady said that was the problem. Marlena said Sami did the same thing. She said she let Sami do that because she wanted to show that she would be there for her. When Theresa was about to leave, Alex proposed to her. Theresa was upset when he proposed because he didn’t mean it. Alex told her he didn’t want her to get high again. Theresa didn’t care what he had to say and left the apartment. Theresa showed up at John and Marlena’s apartment. She said she didn’t have anywhere else to go. While Theresa and Brady were talking, Marlena said she could stay with them. Ava was upset that Stefan thought Harris could die. Stefan apologized to her. She was upset that Tripp didn’t respond to her. Brady asked Theresa what happened with Alex. She said Alex didn’t want to propose to her. Brady said he didn’t realize they were that close. Theresa said she was, but he wasn’t. Brady asked if she loved Alex. Marlena went to see Alex. Alex said he was calling Theresa. Marlena said Theresa was at her house. She said she thought he would want someone to talk to. Alex said he wanted to talk to her. Melinda and Sloan talked about Li and how Melinda ruined it. She warned Sloan not to ruin what she had with Eric. Brady asked if Theresa loved Alex. She asked why else would she marry him. Brady said Alex was coming into a lot of money. He thought that had something to do with her motivation. She said that was crass and was upset about him accusing her of being a gold digger. Brady apologized to her for the accusation. Alex told Marlena what happened when Theresa found the ring and left him. Marlena said Theresa was hurt and embarrassed. Alex said he cared about Theresa. He told her about the meeting he went to. Alex told her he admitted to not being sure if he was ready to commit to being a stepfather. Melinda advised Sloan to be supportive of Eric and Jude. Sloan said she wasn’t Jude’s mother. Melinda warned her their lives would be ruined if anyone found out what they did. While Brady and Theresa were talking, he said he would always be there for him. Ava got a call from the hospital about Tripp not showing up.

EJ and Nicole celebrated her and Holly being home. Rafe talked to Goldman about the shooting. Jada came in and gave her back her gun and badge. Goldman said she was happy to be back in the field. When Goldman left, Jada gave Rafe a gift. Leo asked Everett about the fire at the Horton house. He asked Everett why the fire started. Leo told Everett he didn’t have plans. Everett told him he had plans. Leo guessed he had a date with Stephanie. Everett told him they were going on a double date. Rafe liked Jada’s gift. He gave her a gift as well. She enjoyed her gift. Nicole thanked EJ for bringing her and Holly back home. He said he did it because he missed her. She said Holly was breathing on her own and her wonderful husband made it happen. Jada and Rafe talked about meeting Stephanie’s boyfriend. Rafe told her he met Stephanie’s boyfriend while he was doing a story for the paper. Jada said her ex was a reporter.

While Alex and Theresa were out, she searched around to see if he hid the ring. He asked her if she was going to visit Tate with Brady. She said she was excited to see him. Theresa said Tate would be excited about Holly breathing on her own. Alex said he was sure she would have good news to share with him. Theresa said she hoped so. Nicole and EJ talked about what has been happening in Salem. EJ told her Harris’ shooting was tied to the person who sold Holly the drugs. Stephanie met Jada and Rafe at the pub. Jada asked where Stephanie’s boyfriend was. Stephanie said he was on his way there. Jada said she couldn’t wait to see him. EJ gave Nicole a healing bowl to put in Holly’s room. Nicole loved her gift. When Alex went in his pocket, Theresa thought he was giving her the ring. Theresa wanted him to propose to her. She said her answer was yes. Jada said she has to go to the bathroom. Everett showed up when Jada left. Nicole told EJ that Holly had to get better. Theresa told Alex that she saw the ring. She apologized for ruining the surprise. Alex said she got it wrong. Theresa was upset that he wasn’t proposing to her. He wanted to talk, but she walked out of the restaurant. When Jada came back from the bathroom, she called Everett Bobby.

John said he downloaded the pictures Johnny had. He wanted to look at the pictures under different circumstances. Theresa was excited about Alex proposing to her. He wanted to take her for a walk. While Abe and Paulina were talking, Johnny and Chanel showed up. Paulina wanted to know what was going on. Johnny and Chanel told her they were getting married. Steve talked to Kayla and Stephanie about the first time they got married. There was a flashback of their wedding. Paulina asked if Johnny and Chanel were getting married in her room. Johnny said they were. Paulina was excited about them getting married. Stephanie asked Steve and Kayla if they were married four times. Steve and Kayla told her they were. Stephanie said she gathered pictures from their weddings. While they were looking at the pictures, they flashed back to another wedding. While Alex and Theresa went on their walk, they ran into John and Marlena. Marlena asked if they wanted to join them. Alex said they didn’t want to intrude. He agreed to join them because they didn’t have any plans.

Abe officiated Johnny and Chanel’s wedding. John and Marlena talked to Alex and Theresa about their romance. Theresa asked what the secret of staying madly in love. John said it was trust, respect and staying romantic. Marlena and John told them about the hospital Valentine’s Day dance. There was a flashback of the dance. Theresa pulled Marlena away from the table. She told Marlena that Alex was going to propose to her. Theresa told her about finding the ring and why she thought he was going to propose to her. Marlena told her she didn’t know if Alex was proposing to her. She asked if Theresa wanted to get things with her son in order before making a life change. Theresa said she would tell Alex they would have a long engagement. She said she didn’t want to upset him by saying no to his proposal. Alex told John that he felt pressured to be romantic the way John was with Marlena. John told him to be honest with himself and Theresa. Alex agreed that he had to be honest with himself and Theresa. Chad, Julie, Doug, and the kids went to the Kiriakis mansion. Maggie tried to calm Julie down. Julie questioned why the house burned down. Chad said it was his fault. Goldman, Rafe, and Jada talked about Harris and how he was doing. Jada told Rafe what was going on with Lucas. Wendy showed up at the police station. Jada wanted her to scrub traffic cam footage. Wendy wanted to talk to Jada and Rafe for a minute. Maggie asked Chad how the fire could be his fault. Chad said he got a call from an unknown number. He told them what the caller said. Chad said it was a payback for writing a story about the drug ring. He said Clyde threatened him. Julie was upset that he didn’t pull the story. Wendy told Rafe and Jada that Ava admitted she was in danger and didn’t want her and Tripp involved. She said Ava said she couldn’t trust the cops. Wendy said she thought Stefan was involved. Rafe appreciated Wendy talking to them. He asked her to be their ears. Wendy said she felt weird spying on her boyfriend’s brother. Jada tried to convince her to do it. Wendy agreed to do it. Rafe said no one else would know what information she gave them. Stefan tried to comfort Ava about Harris. He wanted to know why she slept with him if she loved Harris. Ava couldn’t believe he asked her that. Julie told Chad he should have said something about Clyde’s threat. Maggie told Chad that it wasn’t his fault. Julie told him it wasn’t his fault. Chad said he wanted to make Clyde pay for what he did to Abby and the kids. Julie asked if he was sure Clyde was the one who called. Chad said he wasn’t sure but wondered who else it could be. He said the number was blocked but it could be unblocked. Chad wanted to give the police his phone to see what they could do. Goldman said she found a cell phone. Rafe told Wendy to check the phone. When Wendy left, Jada wanted to know what happened at the pub. Kayla told Ava and Stefan about Harris’ condition. She said they had to remove the bullet. Ava asked if Harris was going to be okay. Kayla said he lost of lot of blood. She said they would know when they performed surgery.

Julie was upset that the fire ruined her family’s legacy. Maggie said the fire didn’t take away the memories. Kayla said Harris would do better than most because he was in excellent shape. She said Ava’s quick thinking was why Harris stood a fighting chance. Rafe couldn’t believe Harris was keeping Lucas safe at the pub. He said they had to do whatever they could to find Harris’ killer. Rafe believed Clyde was behind it. Jada hoped the phone could tell them something. She said Lucas was safe for now, but they had to get him out of the pub. While they were talking, Chad showed up. Jada asked if everyone was okay. Chad said everyone got out. Rafe asked if he knew how the fire started. Chad said it was Clyde. He told them about the phone call. Chad said Clyde threatened him because of the story. He said he thought Clyde was getting revenge because of the story. Rafe said if Clyde was responsible that made three incidents. Chad wanted to know what the was talking about. Rafe said it was confidential, but he promised to take him down. Chad wanted the police to nail Clyde. Ava told Stefan they had to end what they were doing after tonight. Stefan said they didn’t have a choice. He said they saw what happened to Harris. Ava threatened to make Clyde pay if anything happened to Harris. Stefan said she couldn’t show up at the prison and kill him. He said to let it go. She asked if he expected them to let Clyde hurt the people they loved. Rafe and Jada talked about Clyde and wondered how the mole knew what was going on. Wendy came in and told them about the numbers she found on the burner phone. Goldman showed up with the search warrant. Jada asked her if she was okay. Goldman said she overdid it at the gym. Ava asked Kayla about Harris. Kayla said they removed the bullet, but he had a collapsed gun. While they were talking, Ava asked to see him. Kayla said she could see him for a few minutes. Ava went to see Harris. She wanted to tell him she loved him.

Alex and Theresa talked about their plans for Valentine’s Day. He didn’t want to do anything, but she said it was her favorite holiday. Tripp and Wendy met with Ava to talk about walking in on her and Stefan. He apologized to Ava for the way he acted. Tripp said Stefan wouldn’t be his first choice for her, but he was going to accept it. Ava was happy that they respected her choice. Kate questioned Lucas for walking around in the dark. He told her she worried too much about him. Julie told Thomas and Charlotte a story about the Horton family. Ava told Wendy and Tripp that Stephanie did a good job helping the Bistro do better. Tripp brought up the drug problem in Salem. Ava said she had a feeling things were going to get better soon. Harris showed up at the pub and asked why Lucas was in there. He made Lucas go upstairs. Alex asked Theresa about her meeting. She said it was good. When she told him Brady was there, he wanted to know why. Harris told Lucas he could have been seen in the pub. Lucas asked if he was getting anywhere. Harris asked if he could hang on for a little while longer.

Alex asked Theresa about Brady being at the meeting. She said he showed up out of the blue. He asked if Brady followed her. She said Brady didn’t know she was going to be there. Theresa said Brady needed the meeting the way she did. Alex asked if she got the support she needed. Theresa said she did. He asked if she was going to another meeting. She said she did and thought he should have read about needed meetings. The meetings helped her feel better. He asked if she was going to meetings for the rest of her life. She said most likely because she had to be vigilant every day. Theresa asked if he would except that about her. Wendy and Tripp told Ava about the treasure hunt they’re doing on Valentine’s Day. Harris told Lucas that the police was doing the best they could. He said the article in the Spectator helped. Lucas said he was the unknown source. Kate was upset that he talked to the press. Lucas said Chad and Everett weren’t going to tell who their source was. Theresa told Alex her recovery was important to her. She said she had to be strong for her son because she felt like she let her son down. Alex said she was a good mother. Theresa said she was a lucky mother because Tate was a good kid. Kate told Lucas she didn’t want him risking his life when she just got him back. Lucas said it was worth it if she saved one life. When Chad and Julie left the living room, a masked person broke in the house. A person with a gun was in the pub. When Harris left the pub, someone shot him. The person with the gun in the pub shot at Kate and Lucas. The person in the Horton house poured gasoline in it and lit it on fire.

EJ told Stefan that the Salem PD made a drug bust last night. He thought Stefan was involved in the drug bust. Chanel wondered if Paulina got her test results when she and Abe were being quiet. Marlena wanted to know what was going on with John since he’s going through a lot with Brady and Tate. He said Brady and Tate were going through more than he was. Marlena said he got home late last night. She asked him about his client. Ava and Harris met to talk about the drug bust. While they were talking, she flashed back to telling him that Clyde was blackmailing her and Stefan. Harris told Ava he wasn’t going to stop until Clyde paid for what he did. EJ told Stefan that the police wasn’t going to stop until everyone was taken down. He said he wondered if Stefan was going to be the next one arrested for drugs. John told Marlena the meeting was a waste of time. She asked what happened. He said the person never showed up. She thought the client should have told him he wasn’t coming. While John was talking, he started staring into space. Paulina told Chanel that the test showed her nodules got bigger which meant the cancer was more aggressive than they thought. She said she had to get the surgery sooner. When Chanel asked when the surgery was, Johnny showed up. Stefan told EJ that he didn’t help him when he told him about the drugs. EJ said he couldn’t help him because he was going through things in his life. Stefan asked how his reputation would look like. EJ thought he would be the one on top by putting him in jail. Harris told Ava to give him time to get Clyde. Marlena asked if John was okay. He said he wondered if the past ever stayed in the past. She asked what was going on with him. He said Steve was talking about the old times which made him start thinking about the past.

Paulina told Chanel and Johnny when her surgery was. Chanel and Johnny agreed to be there for her. Stefan asked EJ if he was screwed without his help. EJ told him he might have been able to help him if he was CEO of DiMera. He reminded him that he and Gabi stole it from him. Stefan said he offered to give it back to him. EJ said it was too little too late. He was excited about what was happening with Stefan. Marlena told John everything would be okay. Harris told Ava about the drug dealer getting killed. He said they had to move forward. She thought about kissing Stefan. Harris wanted to know what was wrong. She said she made one bad decision after the next. He said to give herself a break. She said he would bail after he found out the mess she made. He said he wasn’t going anywhere. When he walked away, Stefan called Ava. He wanted to talk to her. She said she was with Harris. He said he needed to speak to her and wanted her to meet him at his place. She said she would be there. John asked Marlena how she knew to make him feel better. Marlena complimented him on being the best. She said she loved him the way he was. EJ went to the police station and asked Harris about the drug raid. Harris told him one of the cops killed the dealer in self-defense. Ava went to the DiMera mansion. Stefan asked what the police told her. She told him about the drug bust. Stefan said Harris may know what happened between them last night. While Paulina, Chanel, and Johnny were talking about the wedding, Paulina got a call from the hospital telling her the surgery was on Valentine’s Day. Harris told EJ continued to talk about making Clyde and everyone else involved with the drug bust pay. Ava said Harris didn’t know what happened between them even though people were supposed to think they did. She said Clyde’s henchman was shot at the bust. Stefan said he knew about it. Ava said Clyde was going to be on a warpath. Stefan wanted to know what they were going to do. Chanel and Johnny told Paulina they weren’t getting married without her. Ava told Stefan she had a plan to get them out of their situation with Clyde. Stefan said not to do anything without telling him. She told him to trust her. Harris and EJ continued to talk about Clyde and the drug bust. EJ told Harris to do what he had to do if Stefan was involved. He said Stefan could go in a cell next to Clyde.

Alex ran into Kristen. Kristen mentioned Theresa slipped up. Alex was upset that Brady told her about Theresa. Kristen told him Brady was going to be a part of her life and Theresa’s. Alex said Brady was worried about Tate. Kristen said it wasn’t just about Tate. She asked if he was sure that nothing else was going on between them. Harris was upset that a cop shot the dealer connected to Clyde. When Rafe showed up, Harris told him they needed the dealer. Harris said it was there shot at Clyde. Chad and Everett showed up at the scene. Rafe wanted to know why they were there. Chad said they were getting information. Rafe said the bust wasn’t known and wondered how they got there so fast. Harris told him why he told them about the drug bust. Rafe was upset about him telling them about the deal. While they were talking about it, Chad said they still had to print the story. Rafe gave in and did the interview with Everett. Alex and Kristen continued to argue over Brady. Jada asked one of the cops about Goldman. He told Jada about what happened when she shot the dealer. Chad and Everett went to see Clyde. Clyde wanted to know who Everett was. Alex asked Kristen if she ever thought about getting back together with Brady. She said that ship sailed. He told her to try and get him back.

Rafe told Harris he didn’t like being surprised by the press being at the drug bust. Harris said he had to do it. While they were talking, Harris said Lucas was staying with him. Rafe said he didn’t think that was a smart idea. Chad told Clyde who Everett was and why they were there. Everett told Clyde that he was having a horrible day. Clyde wanted to know what he was talking about. Everett told him about the raid. Chad asked if Clyde had eyes and ears everywhere. Clyde didn’t answer him. Chad told him about the drug raid. He asked Clyde if he knew about it. Everett told Clyde the police got seven kilos of drugs. Clyde said he didn’t know what they were talking about. Chad and Everett told him the police got a couple of million dollars’ worth of drugs. While they were talking, Clyde’s phone started to ring. Chad and Everett said Clyde wasn’t supposed to have a phone. They wanted him to answer the phone. Kristen wanted Alex to admit that he wanted her to be back with Brady to get him out of the way. Alex said he wanted Brady to stay away from Theresa. Kristen warned him that his relationship with Theresa would be over if Brady wasn’t distracted from Theresa. She said she could help him. Jada talked to Goldman about shooting the perp. She told her about shooting someone in Seattle. Rafe came in and told Goldman she did the right thing. Jada told her she wasn’t alone. Clyde wanted to know what Chad and Everett wanted. They told him they wanted to give him a chance to tell his story. Clyde said he was an innocent man. He said he has been a model prisoner ever since he killed Abby. Chad tried to attack Clyde when he provoked him. Everett stopped Chad from going after Clyde. Clyde wanted to know why they were there. Chad said he wanted to see his face when he found out he lost his money. He said he was going to take great satisfaction of exposing Clyde’s drug reign. Kristen told Alex that she would agree to keep Brady away from Theresa. They realized they had to work together to stay on top of it. Alex offered Kristen a job at Titan. She said she would consider it. He told her to offer Brady more visitation rights so it would give her and Brady a chance to bond. Clyde told Chad and Everett to forget what they learned. Chad asked if he was threatening them. Clyde said it was a warning. Chad and Everett told him he was going to pay for what he did. Clyde left them alone. Harris wanted Goldman to go over what happened during the drug bust. He told Rafe they had to get Clyde in a different way. Harris said Clyde was going to want someone to pay when he found out what happened.

Konstantin wanted to know what the pawn card meant. Maggie asked Konstantin about going to dinner with her. He said he didn’t want to go because Xander wasn’t his biggest fan. Stefan wanted to have dinner with Ava. Stephanie went to see Everett. She overheard him saying he was picking Chad up at six in the morning. Stephanie wanted to know where they were going. Brady talked to Marlena about being a bad parent to his children. Theresa showed up so he could sign papers for Tate. They talked about what was going on with Tate. Konstantin agreed to go with Maggie. She said he was going to be in her life. He wanted to know what she meant by that. She said it was time to leave. Stephanie wanted to know where Everett and Chad were going. Everett said they were working on a story. When she was about to leave, he asked if she had any plans. He wanted her to stay with him. While Ava and Stefan were talking to each other, they decided they were friends. Brady asked Theresa how she was doing. Marlena and John wanted to give them time to talk. Theresa asked Brady if they knew she got high.

Xander tried to leave the apartment when Maggie and Konstantin showed up. Maggie convinced Xander to stay. When Maggie left to find Sarah and Victoria, Xander told Konstantin not to hurt Maggie. Konstantin told him that he cared for Maggie and would never hurt her. He said he wasn’t the man he thought he was. Everett and Stephanie reminisced about the past. While they were talking, he told her he meant what he said about loving her. Theresa said she was okay with Brady telling his parents that she got high. They talked about John and Marlena’s relationship. While they were talking about John and Marlena, they talked about their own relationship. Brady said he wished her luck with her relationship. Chad and Everett talked about the drugs and how it was affecting the city. Harris talked to Lucas about the case not going the way he thought it would. He told Lucas he was safe. Lucas said he wished he could believe that. He was afraid Clyde was going to find him and kill him. Theresa needed help with her work. Alex offered to help her, but when Brady showed up, she asked for his help. When Theresa left, Alex was upset about Brady helping her. Theresa was ready to get back to work when she came back. Brady told Theresa what she needed to do. Harris told Lucas to trust that he would do his part. When Harris left, Lucas called Chad. Chad wanted to know where he was. Lucas said he was in Salem. Chad asked if he escaped. Lucas said he didn’t. He said he needed him to meet him at Harris’ place. When Chad got off the phone, he told Everett that they needed to go meet an important person. Brady continued to help Theresa. He told her not to let the stress get to her. She said she was trying not to let it get to her. Harris ran into Marlena at the hospital. He told her how he went to see a perp in the drug case, but it didn’t go as planned. She asked if he wanted to talk about it because she had time. He said he wanted to talk. Lucas didn’t expect Chad to bring Everett with him. Chad said they were working together. Lucas said he had a story for them. Alex ran into Maggie. Maggie said she was worried about Theresa because she seemed guarded. Alex said he was trying his best to be there for her. Maggie said she didn’t think he could. He wanted to know what she meant. She said it took a lot of patience and maturity. He asked if she thought he couldn’t handle it. She said it took a lot of patience and maturity that he didn’t have. Leo showed up at Eric and Sloan’s apartment. He said the baby looked like Eric. Melinda showed up at the apartment. She asked if Sloan got her texts. Sloan said she didn’t. Maggie suggested he find an addict support group so he could support her. Theresa thanked Brady for helping her. They talked about Tate and how he was a good kid who took after them. Lucas told Chad and Everett that he got a beatdown for helping Harris with the drug investigation. Everett asked if he knew who was behind it. Lucas said Clyde was behind it. Harris talked to Marlena about kids getting hooked on drugs. He mentioned Holly being affected by the drugs. Marlena said Holly was in Italy getting the help she needed. While Harris was talking, he brought up Ava being with Stefan. Marlena asked if he still had feelings for Ava. He said he did but he didn’t expect her to move on with Stefan. Harris left Marlena’s office. Eric asked if Leo was Jude”s godfather. Sloan said Leo was joking about Leo being the godfather. Leo asked about the christening. Eric said he wanted to wait until Nicole got back. Melinda was shocked he wanted to wait for her. Eric said Nicole was excited and would want to be at the christening. Melinda didn’t think they needed to wait for Nicole. Harris showed up while Luas was telling Chad and Everett about the drugs. Sloan agreed to wait to have the christening. When Eric and Leo left, Melinda asked Sloan why Leo was in the apartment. Sloan said to torture her. She confessed to not being cut out for motherhood. While they were talking, Melinda warned her not to tell the truth about the baby because they would go to prison. Harris asked Lucas if he wanted to get killed. Lucas said that wasn’t going to happen. Harris said Chad and Everett could tell where he was. Chad said Clyde killed his wife, so he didn’t care about him. Harris wanted them to hold off on the story. He offered to give them a scoop to hold off on the story.

Leo caught Stephanie coming out of Everett’s room. She questioned why he was there. He said he lived in the building. She said it wasn’t his business why she was there, but he thought it was. Johnny told Stefan he was engaged. Stefan didn’t care about his engagement when he couldn’t be with his wife. Johnny asked him if he was with Ava. Stefan told him to mind his business. Stephanie continued to let Leo know what went on with Everett was none of his business. She threatened to get him fired if he continued to pry. He agreed to let it go. When she walked away, he went to Everett’s door. Paulina went to the hospital so Sarah could check on her. When Sarah examined her, she said the lump was still the same. Sarah said she would make sure she could get checked out as soon as possible. Steve talked to Kayla about Konstantin. He said he and John didn’t trust him, and Maggie shouldn’t either. Steve said Konstantin’s history with Victor wasn’t right. Kayla said Maggie was taken with Konstantin at first. Steve said Maggie was still taken with him. He said whenever he and John try to tell Maggie about Konstantin, she shuts them down. Steve said Konstantin was a con man. Kayla thought he should try to sleep. Ava and Wendy talked about Wendy’s relationship with Tripp. Wendy was upset when Ava thought she was using Tripp as a support system. Leo went to see Everett. He asked Everett about Stephanie. Everett took Leo away from his room so they could talk.

Sarah was able to get Paulina an examination room so she could get checked out. She tried to get Paulina to call Chanel so she could support her. Johnny told Stefan that he didn’t know Ava was going to set him off. Stefan told Johnny to stay out of his business. Johnny reminded him about kissing Ava. Stefan told him he would understand things better when he grew up. Wendy wanted to know why Ava was insulting her. Ava said she was being protective of her son. Wendy said she loved Tripp, and he loved her. She said they were going to be together. While they were talking, Wendy noticed Harris calling Ava. Wendy asked if she was in love with Harris or Stefan or both. Stefan told Johnny that he didn’t have a right to judge him. Johnny said he wasn’t judging him. He said he openly kissed Ava in front of his family. Johnny wanted to know why he was doing this to Gabi if he loved her. Stefan said he vowed to be faithful to Gabi. He said he was worried sick about when she was getting out of Statesville. Johnny asked why he was doing this. Stefan said Ava was a beautiful woman and he is alone. Johnny said he hoped he could live with what he was doing. Stefan said he hoped he could too. Leo and Everett talked about Stephanie. Everett said he and Stephanie talked. When Leo jokingly flirted with him, Everett wondered if he used humor to compensate for problems in his life. Chanel and Johnny showed up to be there for Paulina. Johnny called Ava and warned her to stop talking to Harris. While they were talking, he wondered if she was with Harris. They argued over having to flirt with each other.

Jada asked Stephanie if she was swearing off men. Stephanie said she was swearing off men. Rafe said he sensed hesitation. Stephanie said it was hard because she worked with two of her exes. Jada and Rafe wanted to know who they were. They knew about Chad, but not the other one. Stephanie said it was someone she dated in Seattle. While Everett was working on a story, he thought of Stephanie. Alex talked to Marlena about Theresa relapsing. He told her that he and Brady took care of Theresa. Alex said he wanted to help, but he was in the way. He told her about Theresa planning to leave town to visit her mother. Alex said he talked Theresa into staying because he couldn’t let her leave. Kayla told Theresa that Kim talked to her about slipping and was disappointed about her not coming to California. She asked why Theresa decided not to go back. When Rafe walked away from the table, Jada told Stephanie that he was nothing like her lying, cheating boyfriend. Alex told Marlena he wanted Theresa to stay because they were alike. Theresa told Kayla Alex begged her to stay in town because they should be together. She told Kayla that she kissed Brady, but when Alex persuaded her to stay, she realized he was what she needed. Kayla asked if she loved Alex. Theresa said she did love him. She asked if Kayla approved of it. Kayla said she didn’t know him that well, but he was capable of change if he met the right woman. Theresa said when she first got together with Alex, she was using him to get over Brady. She said she didn’t think she would develop real feelings for him. Theresa said she felt guilty because she destroys people’s lives without thinking about it. She said she was ashamed of what she did because he deserved better. Kayla asked what she did.

Marlena asked if Alex was in love. Alex said it was new for him. She told him feelings were subjective. He said he should act on his feelings for Theresa. Alex asked if he should propose to Theresa. Marlena said the feelings were new for him, but he needed to take it slowly. Alex thought he could lose her if he waited. Stephanie asked Jada if her marriage ended because of her ex cheating on her. Jada said that was the main reason. She said she checked the charges on his account and found a ring. Jada said when he found out they had a horrible fight and knew it was over. When Rafe came back to the table, he wanted to know what he missed. Jada said she was talking about her ex. Everett called Stephanie to ask if he could email a story to her. She said she wouldn’t get to it until the morning because she was out with friends and asked him to join them. He agreed to join them. Marlena asked Alex if he told Theresa how he felt. Alex said he didn’t. Marlena said he wouldn’t know how she felt about him since he didn’t ask. He agreed not to rush to marry Theresa. Marlena said the best thing for him to do for Theresa is there for her. Kayla asked what Theresa did to feel guilty. She asked if it was about her past mistakes. Theresa said it was about her past mistakes. Kayla asked if she suffered enough. She said one of the steps in the 12-Step program is making amends. Kayla asked if there was anyone, she needed to make amends with. Theresa said she needed to make amends. When Everett went to the pub, he saw Jada and left. He sent Stephanie a text to let her know he couldn’t make it. When Stephanie left the pub, she called Everett. He asked her if she could come by his apartment so he could talk to her. He said it couldn’t wait.

Rafe told Jada and Harris that they were going to question Ava and Stefan about the drug connection. Harris said questioning Clyde would be the better option. Jada wanted to know why. Harris said he had a run in with Clyde and had an update. Rafe asked if Clyde threatened him. Jada was shocked that he was open about his attack on Lucas. Harris said they were going to win the fight and take him down. Alex told Theresa that he felt like it was his fault that she was leaving. He said he shouldn’t have accused her of having feelings for Brady. Alex said she and Brady had a bond over Tate. He was afraid that her old feelings for Brady would resurface. Theresa said they didn’t. She said when she came back to Salem, she thought they would get back together, but things changed. Theresa said meeting Alex changed everything. She said she hasn’t forgiven herself for kissing Brady. That was why she had to leave town. Alex said leaving town wasn’t going to make things with Tate better. He asked her to stay with him so he could help her. Eric and Sloan talked about his new business. He let her know Leo was his client. Harris told Rafe about Lucas’ attack. When Harris took a phone call, Rafe asked Jada why she didn’t come over. She said she was exhausted and went to sleep. He wanted to know why she lied to him.

Theresa told Alex she had a flight. Alex told her he was going through a lot and didn’t know who he was. She thought about her scheme to make him think he was Victor’s son. Theresa said there was something he should know. Sloan was shocked that Leo was Eric’s client. Leo showed up at the apartment. Sloan asked Eric if she would stay for the photoshoot. When Eric left to get something, Sloan asked what Leo was up to. Leo said he wanted to make her squirm. He said he would drag her down if she didn’t do what he wanted. Theresa said Alex wasn’t the one to blame for how she felt. She said she made a mess of things. When he tried to comfort her, she didn’t want him to do it. She said she kept letting people down. Theresa said everyone was better off without her. Alex said he made terrible decisions. He said he treated Justin badly because he wasn’t his biological father. Alex said he was flawed and wanted to work on himself. He wanted to show her how much she meant to him. Rafe told Jada that she pulled Theresa’s phone records. He asked if she could explain. She told him what happened with Theresa. Jada apologized for not telling him about it. Harris told them he had news about Lucas. He said Lucas was being moved to a new location for his safety. Sloan asked why he was doing that to her when she was doing everything he wanted. He told her not to play the victim when she was the one who stole a good woman’s baby. She threatened to take him down if he sold her out. When Eric got back, Sloan said she had to leave. Rafe wanted to know why Harris couldn’t tell him about Lucas. Harris thought he should keep it to himself since they didn’t know who was listening. Rafe said they still had a dirty cop.

Paulina was nervous about her test results. Everett told Chad about the footage of the drug dealers. Chad looked at the footage. Everett said he was surprised his brothers weren’t there. Ava and Stefan talked about business being bad because of the raid. She said she got Stephanie to help them. Xander told Sarah that he was going to be a better person because of her and Victoria. Sarah was glad to hear it. Paulina got a message that the results were ready. Chad said he didn’t expect his brothers to be involved. Everett wondered if they were covering up something. He wanted to find out what was going on. Ava and Stefan wanted to know how to get the customers to forget about the raid. Stephanie let them know what she was going to do to help them. Paulina told Abe and Chanel that she expected to get the diagnosis she got. She said she was ready to do whatever she had to do to get cured. Abe said he and Chanel would do whatever they had to do to help her. Paulina said she was scared about the symptoms she had. She said she hoped it wasn’t cancer. Knowing she had cancer made her feel stronger since she had her husband and daughter by her side.

Chanel talked to Sarah about Paulina’s cancer diagnosis. Sarah asked if there was anything she could do. Chanel asked her to talk to Paulina about cancer. Sarah agreed to talk to her. Chad and Everett talked to Xander about the Spectator. Xander wanted to know what was going on. Chad told him about Stephanie’s idea. Xander didn’t want to do the Scavenger Hunt. He asked them about money missing from the account. Everett said he used the money. Leo walked in while they were talking. Stephanie talked to Ava and Stefan about her relationship with Chad. She let them know she and Chad were on good terms. Stefan said he was going to talk to Chad. When Stefan left, Stephanie asked if Ava and Stefan were a couple. Ava said they were. Sarah talked to Paulina about her diagnosis. Paulina said she was reading articles about cancer and how it affects people. She said had to get surgery. Sarah said she had to get surgery, but she could live without a thyroid. She said there might be complications. Paulina wanted to know what the complications were. While Ava and Stephanie were talking, Harris came up. Stephanie told her the night with Harris was a mistake. She said she had too much to drink, but nothing happened. Ava thought she must not have been a good kisser. Stephanie said Harris was a good guy. Ava said she was seeing someone behind Harris’ back. Stephanie reminded her that Stefan was married. Ava said his wife was in prison. Stephanie told her what happened was none of her business. Ava said what happened between Stephanie and Harris was none of her business. Stephanie said she wasn’t interested in Harris. Sarah told Paulina that her tumor didn’t spread anywhere else. She said Paulina’s symptoms were normal. Paulina asked about the survival rate. Sarah said the survival rate was 95 percent. She asked if she had any more questions. Paulina asked her to be her doctor. Stefan asked Chad not to do a story about the raid in the Bistro. He said any information about it would ruin the restaurant. Stefan continued to convince Chad not to publish anything about the Bistro. He told Xander, Everett, and Leo that Stefan wanted them to kill the story about the Bistro. Xander and Everett didn’t understand why he didn’t want to write about the raid. Everett and Chad argued over Chad’s decision.
