On the beach, Finn thanks Sheila, his mother, for saving Kelly’s life. Finn expresses gratitude but asks Sheila to keep her distance from him and his family. Sheila visits Deacon and tells him she saved Kelly’s life. Deacon realizes Sheila had wanted to be a positive influence in Finn’s life. At the cliff house, Steffy and Liam discuss their concerns about Sheila’s release and her connection to Finn. Liam worries about Kelly’s safety and believes Finn is vulnerable to Sheila’s influence.

When Finn and Kelly return home, Steffy is shocked to learn that Sheila saved Kelly from drowning at the beach. Steffy is furious with Finn for turning his back on Kelly and allowing Sheila near their daughter. Meanwhile, Liam shares his concerns about Finn with Wyatt at Spencer Publications.

Sloan and Melinda come from the courthouse. Melinda comments on the judge working fast and says she knows today didn’t go as Sloan hoped, but it could be worse. Sloan asks how since Colin was just sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Chanel exits the Bakery and walks through the town square where she runs in to Talia. Chanel asks her what’s wrong. Talia responds that she just left the courthouse and Colin is going to prison for 20 years. Chanel can’t say she’s sorry about that. Talia says she can’t either, so Chanel asks why she’s so upset. Talia cries that when the hearing was over and they were taking Colin away, he looked her straight in the eyes with so much hate and anger, and said that she should be going to prison too because she’s just as guilty as he is. Talia adds that he’s right.

Tripp goes to the hospital and finds Steve, noting that he didn’t know he was back as they hug. Tripp confirms that he and John just got back from LA where they found Jerry Prentiss. Tripp talks about working with Whitley and she always seemed normal but calls it insane that she had Abe kidnapped while pretending to be his wife. Steve states that Abe is alive and safe so that’s all that matters. Tripp asks how Abe is doing. Steve informs him that Abe was discharged today and he’s healthy, but he can’t remember anything about his life. Tripp encourages Steve to stay positive because his memory could start coming back at any time. Steve hopes that it will start coming back as soon as Paulina brings him home.

Paulina brings Abe home and asks if anything looks familiar to him.

Tripp tells Steve that Abe being home with his wife definitely could trigger something. Steve hopes it happens soon or their living arrangement could get awkward. Steve then asks Tripp about living with Wendy. Tripp then reveals that he and Wendy are together now. Steve is shocked since Tripp told him things were over and that Wendy asked him to leave so she could be with Johnny. Tripp explains that Wendy wanted alone time to tell Johnny they were over as she had chosen him.

Wendy pours drinks for her and Li at home. Wendy wants to hear about Li’s date from last night since he hasn’t said a word about it which she hopes means it was awesome and he doesn’t want to jinx it. Wendy asks if it was at least better than his date from Hell with Melinda Trask but Li says no. Wendy asks who it was. Li explains that it was Connie who was irritating, pushy, and not very bright and she didn’t stop talking ever, so he had to call it off. Wendy jokes that he’s 0-2 so he might need a new matchmaker but Li says maybe not as he thinks the matchmaker may have gotten it right the first time.

Melinda tells Sloan that she knows Colin’s case hits her hard, being family. Sloan hoped that she could convince the judge to be lenient but she threw the damn book at Colin. Melinda encourages that she will get through this. Melinda adds that she would invite Sloan out for a drink but she has plans in another date. Sloan asks about Melinda’s last date but Melinda says that didn’t go well as the guy wouldn’t stop talking about his ex as though he couldn’t get over her.

Abe tells Paulina that it’s a very nice apartment. Paulina encourages that he always seemed at home here. Abe responds that he’s sorry but he doesn’t remember it. Paulina understands it might take time and says there will be no pressure from her as she’s all about being patient. Paulina says they are in this together as a team so she will do everything she can to help him relax and settle in. Paulina assures that she knows the memories will start coming back to him, including how he feels about her and how happy they’ve been together.

Eric exits the Brady Pub and runs in to Nicole, who says she was on her way to see Abe and she never thought she’d say that again. Eric calls it great news. Nicole says she has to go so she’ll give Abe a hug from him. Eric adds to tell Paulina that he can get anything they need and bring it to the apartment. Nicole is surprised to learn that Abe was released from the hospital and says she will head to their apartment instead. Eric guesses she didn’t get a chance to see Abe when she was at the hospital earlier. Nicole questions him knowing that she was at the hospital. Eric mentions that Sloan said she ran in to her. Nicole confirms she was there to pick up the test results that EJ had done and says it looks like there is no risk for the baby. Eric mentions Sloan saying she had good news. Nicole still doesn’t understand how Sloan got her test results which Eric questions.

Sloan tells Melinda that her date must have been awful. Sloan talks about how she wasn’t really dating before Eric but she knows it would suck to be sitting with a guy who is hung up on someone else. Melinda then reveals that her date was Alex Kiriakis. Sloan then guesses that Alex wouldn’t shut up about Stephanie Johnson. Melinda states that at least Alex hired a matchmaker so he’s trying to get over her, but confirms there won’t be another date. Sloan asks who the lucky guy is then. Melinda reveals it’s Li Shin.

Wendy questions Li ending up on another date with Melinda. Li explains that they didn’t plan it and just happened to run in to each other at the bar where they were meeting their matches. Wendy asks if he saw Melinda’s date. Li informs her that it was Alex Kiriakis. Wendy jokes that Alex really gets around as she’s heard that Alex has matched up with a lot of women, so she highly doubts he could choose just one.

Steve tells Tripp that he’s happy for him that Wendy chose him. Tripp admits that Steve’s pep talk helped him. Steve encourages him to be confident that he’s a good man and good things will follow. Tripp thanks him. Steve guesses his living situation isn’t so awkward after all. Tripp admits it’s kind of perfect even though he and Wendy aren’t sharing a room yet. Steve encourages him to take it slow, have fun, and get to know each other. Tripp reveals that they tried the other night but Wendy’s brother walked in on them. Tripp adds that Li was bummed after coming home from a date that didn’t go so well. Steve asks who the date was. Tripp reveals that it was Melinda Trask.

Li tells Wendy that after he and Melinda’s dates both went south, they ended up having a bottle of wine and actually had a nice time so maybe it’s a good thing that the matchmaker picked horrible dates for them. Wendy suggests maybe the matchmaker knew exactly what she was doing and that Li and Melinda paired up so well but their date didn’t work out, so she created another shot for them. Li questions the idea of the matchmaker sending them both on dates that she knew wouldn’t go well. Wendy doesn’t think it was a coincidence for Li and Melinda to end up at the same place at the same time. Li supposes it’s possible. Wendy hopes it works out but Li guesses that she doesn’t think it will. Wendy declares that she’s not sure he can trust someone who has already burned him before.

Chanel argues that Colin was not right and that Talia is not as guilty as he is. Talia complains that she did everything Colin asked her to do including breaking into Paulina’s office and drugging the biscuits. Chanel admits that Talia did some terrible things that she has to make up for, but says there’s a reason that Talia was sentenced to community service and not prison. Chanel states that Talia was in an emotionally abusive relationship with a sick and dangerous man, who manipulated her in to doing his dirty work. Talia wishes she was strong enough to say no. Chanel points out that Talia was strong enough on the roof when Colin was going to kill her and Paulina but Talia risked her to life to save them. Talia still feels like a coward. Chanel argues that Colin is the coward and monster, not Talia. Talia thanks her for saying that. Chanel complains that even on his way to prison, Colin is still trying to get in her head. Chanel urges Talia not to let him and to just keep going forward with her therapy and her life, while leaving Colin in the dust. Talia mentions hearing the news about Abe being held hostage by a crazy nurse. Chanel still can’t believe that. Talia remembers going to Whitley’s door while putting up missing persons flyers. Talia tells Chanel that she’s so happy for her and Paulina. Chanel confirms that Abe is doing really well as he has a clean bill of health and now he just needs to get his memory back.

Abe tells Paulina that Theo told him that she’s been up since dawn to get the place ready but says she didn’t have to go through all that trouble. Paulina says she’s thrilled to do whatever she can to make him feel at home because she’s thrilled to have him back. Paulina asks if he’s hungry and says she made all his favorites. Abe says he doesn’t have much of an appetite and mentions having one of Chanel’s bear claws in the hospital. Abe decides maybe later so Paulina says whenever he’s ready and asks what they should do now. Paulina offers to turn on music with a playlist of Abe’s favorite songs or they could watch a movie. Paulina suggests an old romantic movie and then she suddenly kisses Abe. Abe pulls away and asks what the hell is going on. Abe apologizes and explains that he just spent weeks with a woman who kept throwing herself at him. Paulina questions if he’s saying she’s like Whitley when she is his wife. Abe says he knows, but right now when he looks at her, he sees a total stranger. Abe says he’s so sorry. Paulina says she is too and starts to cry as she leaves the room.

Chanel explains to Talia that Paulina hopes Abe’s memory will start to come back when he’s home in a familiar place. Talia hopes that works. Chanel thanks her and says she’s done at the Bakery for the day but she’s going to give Paulina and Abe some space, by taking a long walk. Chanel says she’ll see Talia around and starts to walk away but Talia offers to buy her dinner.

Wendy reminds Li that Melinda tried to record him admitting that he tried to kill Stefan DiMera on their last date. Li says he doesn’t need to be reminded. Wendy knows Tripp said to give Melinda a second chance but says she is just cautioning him. Li says he appreciates that but Melinda’s scheme wouldn’t have worked anyway since he didn’t do it. Wendy assures that she knows that but warns that it’s possible that Melinda didn’t give up after the first try and she’s playing the long game. Li questions thinking this is a ploy. Wendy suggests Melinda is relentless and could have set this up with the matchmaker and used the wine to try to get him talking and then getting him to confess to what she thinks he did. Li repeats that he didn’t do what she thinks he did, so there would be no confession. Wendy states that she knows that but asks if he really wants to get involved with someone who is trying to trick him. Li feels that since he didn’t do it, he has nothing to worry about.

Steve asks Tripp if Li has been killing the mood lately. Tripp says you could say that but he feels for him since his life has been a hot mess lately. Steve understands having Li there is not conducive to romance. Tripp agrees and says he’s been working nights lately so it’s been hard to find alone time. Steve points out that Tripp is not working tonight and he still has his room at he and Kayla’s house, so he suggests Tripp invite Wendy over. Tripp thanks him for the offer but jokes that knowing Steve and Kayla are in the next room wouldn’t be in conducive to romance either. Steve assures that he and Kayla would go elsewhere to let them have the place to themselves.

Nicole explains to Eric that the nurse accidentally gave Sloan her test results, so she knew first because she opened them. Eric notes that Sloan didn’t mention that part, so he just assumed she told her. Nicole guesses that was the mix up and says she only cares about having a healthy baby with no genetic abnormalities on either side. Eric says he’s really happy for her and hopes that he and Sloan have the same good news about their baby. Nicole questions Sloan not getting her test results.

Sloan questions Melinda having another date with Li Shin after she tried to record him confessing to attempted murder and says she thought he hated her now. Melinda explains that he doesn’t as she apologized and they are trying to move past it. Sloan jokes that is almost enough to make her believe in miracles. Melinda points out that having a baby is kind of a miracle. Sloan assures that she is very happy but… Melinda encourages that Sloan has so much to look forward to so she can’t let her brother’s sentence diminish her happiness. Sloan says it’s not that, so Melinda asks what’s going on. Sloan asks if she can tell her something in complete confidence that she cannot tell no matter what. Melinda swears she won’t and asks what it’s about. Sloan reveals that it’s about Nicole.

Eric tells Nicole that Sloan’s test results weren’t ready yet. Nicole feels that’s a little strange and questions why the nurse would give Sloan her results by mistake. Eric guesses it was just part of the mix up. Nicole hopes that they have a happy and healthy baby. Eric thanks her and tells her to give Abe his love. Nicole says she will and walks away.

Melinda asks Sloan what about Nicole. Sloan reminds Melinda that Nicole is pregnant but they get interrupted by Sloan getting a call from Eric, who asks how it went in court. Sloan asks if they can talk about it later and asks what’s up. Eric says he’s at the Pub and there’s something he really wants to talk to her about in person. Sloan says she was just on her way home, so Eric decides he will meet her there and they hang up. Melinda asks Sloan about Nicole being pregnant but Sloan says she’s sorry as she has to go. Melinda argues that she can’t leave her hanging and asks what she was about to tell her. Sloan claims it was nothing and tells Melinda to enjoy her date as she then rushes off.

Chanel questions Talia wanting to take her to dinner. Talia suggests Buddy’s Burger Barn but says they could go somewhere nicer if she wants. Chanel asks if she doesn’t have community service. Talia says she did it this morning before the hearing and she was going home which is Jada’s place, but she’s in the same boat as Chanel since Rafe is there and she wants to give them space. Talia admits to Chanel that she misses her, then says to forget she said anything. Chanel admits that she is actually starving.

Li informs Wendy that he and Melinda have another date tonight, so if she wants to have a romantic night with her boyfriend, it would be a good night. Wendy informs him that she and Tripp have decided to wait. Li jokes that he doesn’t need the details and tells her to have fun with whatever she decides to do tonight. Li tells her not to do anything that he wouldn’t do as he exits the apartment.

Tripp appreciates Steve offering his place for the evening. Steve understands it’s not what he had in mind. Steve then gets a call from Abe which surprises him. Steve answers and asks him what’s going on.

Eric meets Sloan at her apartment and asks how it went today. Sloan informs him that the judge gave Colin 20 years. Eric says he’s so sorry. Sloan admits she’s not surprised since he committed some serious crimes, but she doesn’t want to dwell on it. Sloan asks what Eric wanted to talk to her about. Eric explains that he just ran in to Nicole, who said that Sloan ended up with her test results at the hospital which Sloan confirms that she did. Eric questions how come she didn’t mention that.

Talia is surprised that Chanel agreed to go to dinner with her as she was pretty sure she wouldn’t want to. Chanel responds that holding grudges is exhausting and admits that in the end, Talia did save her life and her mother’s. Chanel then admits she misses Talia too which surprises her. Chanel then reveals that Talia’s replacement at the Bakery sucks. Talia asks if she misses her as an employee then. Chanel confirms that she does and as a friend.

Paulina comes back to Abe and apologizes about before as she was trying to jog his memory and clearly chose the wrong way to do it. Abe says it’s alright. Paulina understands it was too fast for him and apologizes. Steve arrives and informs Paulina that he just got a call from Abe. Abe confirms that he asked Steve to come over. Steve says he’d love to know why Abe wanted to see him and asks what he can do for him. Abe brings up when Steve came by his hospital room with John, he said to call if he needed anything. Abe declares that what he needs is a place to stay which shocks Paulina. Abe says he’s so sorry but he’s just not comfortable here. Steve offers to step outside but Paulina pleads with him to stay and tell Abe that this is his home and where he belongs with her. Paulina understands Abe is frustrated and overwhelmed but insists that if he gives it time, he will remember and that leaving will only set him back. Abe brings up that Steve told him that he was one of his oldest and closest friends, so he assumes that friends can count on each other and right now he needs to count on him for a place to stay. Steve says okay but reminds Abe that he and John assured him that he’s in good hands with Paulina as she is his wife and she loves him. Abe insists so Steve agrees maybe just for now. Paulina reluctantly agrees if that’s what Abe wants which he confirms. Steve tells Paulina that he will call her later and assures that it will all work out. Steve tells her to try not to worry as he wheels Abe out of the apartment as Paulina holds back tears.

Tripp comes home to Wendy, who informs him that Li is out on another date with Melinda. Tripp is surprised as he thought Li said that wasn’t going to happen again. Wendy informs Tripp that they have the place all to themselves. Tripp says maybe for awhile but worries that if Melinda pulls another fast one, Li could come home early again. Wendy supposes that’s possible. Tripp then reveals that he booked them a room at the Salem Inn and thought they could have a nice dinner there and then look at the stars. Wendy agrees to go pack a bag.

Li meets Melinda at the bar. Melinda notes that she ordered their favorite wine. Li thinks back to Wendy’s warnings. Li then says he’s sorry but he can’t stay, claiming he just remembered there is something he has to take care of and rushes out, leaving Melinda confused.

Chanel and Talia have dinner in the town square. Chanel worries as she brings up Abe’s homecoming and says she hopes it’s going well.

Nicole goes to Paulina’s apartment and says she’s sorry to interrupt but Eric told her that she brought Abe home, so she wanted to come see him for herself. Paulina responds that she’s going to have to do it somewhere else because Abe moved out.

Steve brings Abe home with him. Abe apologizes as he knows Paulina is Steve’s friend and that departure was a bit awkward. Steve tells him not to worry and they will get him settled in to the guest room. Abe thanks him for letting him stay. Steve tells him to stay as long as he needs.

Eric questions Sloan not mentioning that she read Nicole’s test results before she did. Sloan calls it a mistake as she asked for her test results and the nurse handed her an envelope. Eric questions not reading the name on it. Sloan asks why she would as that’s the nurse’s job and blames her being anxious about the whole situation and wanting to know their baby was okay. Sloan claims that she assumed the envelope was hers so she opened it up. Sloan then thinks back to reading Nicole’s test results. Sloan argues that Eric said he wanted to talk but this feels like he’s giving her the third degree. Eric says he was just curious. Sloan apologizes and says she’s just upset about her brother. Eric apologizes and says he shouldn’t have brought it up as it was very insensitive of him. Eric tells Sloan that he cares about her. Eric brings up when he was in a dark place and didn’t trust anyone or have hope for anything but Sloan changed all that and now he has trust in her and hope for them and their future. Eric declares that now they are having a baby so they are family as he hugs her.

Say what you will about Judge Bartlett, but she works fast, but slow. I know things didn’t go the way you’d hoped today, but it could be worse. How? My brother was just sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Oh yeah. What’s wrong? I just left the courthouse. Colin, um, he’s going to prison. For 20 years. You know what, I can’t say I’m sorry about that. Yeah, no, no, me neither. Then why are you so upset? Because when the hearing was over, and they were taking him away, he looked me straight in the eyes with so much hate and anger.

And, and then he said, Said, said what? I should be going to prison too. Because I’m just as guilty as he is.

And he’s right.

Dad. Hey, I didn’t know you were back. Hey, buddy. Hey, hey. Yeah, John and I got back from L. A. Where you nabbed the guy who helped that nurse fake Abe’s death. Mm. Definitely a worthwhile trip. You know, I worked with Whitley King. She always seemed perfectly normal. But this entire time, she was holding Abe hostage at her apartment, pretending to be his wife.

That is just… Insane. I know. But, Abe is alive. He’s safe. That’s what matters. Yeah, so, what’s the latest? How’s he doing? I’m happy to report Abe was discharged today. That’s fantastic. It’s a miracle. After everything that man’s been through, he’s healthy as a horse. Except, he can’t remember anything about his life.

Try to stay positive. I mean, that could start coming back to him at any time. Yeah. Well, Paulina should be getting him home just about now. Hopefully, It’ll start coming back to him as soon as he goes through that door.

That’s right, my love. Take it all in. And, um, Abe, you never did answer me. Does it, um, seem like home to you? Does any of it look familiar?

Like sand through the hourglass? So are the days of our lives.

So now that Ave is home with his wife surrounded by reminders of their life together, it could definitely trigger something. It could hopefully sooner rather than later, or their living situation could get a bit awkward. To say the least. Speaking of, How’s it been living with Wendy? Right, uh, I’ve actually been meaning to tell you.

Wendy and I, we’re uh, We’re together now. What? Last time I talked to you, you told me you were sure it was over between you two. You said that she asked you to leave the apartment so she could be alone with Johnny. She did. She did. She wanted some privacy to let him know that it wasn’t happening. So you’re telling me…

Yep. Wendy chose me.

Okay, here you go. Gin and tonic. Isn’t it a little early for happy hour? Well, I finished with work for the day, so I think it’s the perfect time. Besides, I figured a drink or two might get you talking. About what? The metaphors. No, I’m kidding, of course. I want to hear about your date from last night. You haven’t said a word, which I’m hoping means that it was awesome, and you just don’t want to jinx it.

Nope. Well then, please tell me it was at least better than the date from hell you had with Melinda Trask. Nope. Spill, who was this person? Oh, Connie. She was, uh, irritating and pushy and not very bright and didn’t stop talking. Ever. When she started telling me about the time she dressed up as a whoopee cushion for Halloween, I had to call it.

Man, you are 0 for 2. I think you need a new matchmaker. Maybe not. I think she may have gotten it right the first time.

I know Colin’s sentence hits you hard. Um, it’s one thing to lose a case. It’s another when it’s your own family. No, I, I knew there was no chance of acquittal. I just had hoped that I could convince the judge to show him some leniency. Bartlett’s notoriously tough. She threw the damn book at him. 20 years.

With the possibility of parole. Which I know is not much comfort. But, you’ll get through this. And I’d offer to take you for another drink. Non alcoholic, of course. But I have plans. Another date? Yes, ma’am. Oh, so I guess this matchmaker you hired did better the second time around. Ugh, hardly. Uh, the guy wouldn’t shut up about his ex.

I’d try to steer the conversation in another direction. He’d just steer it right back. It’s like he just couldn’t forget about her.

It’s a very, very nice apartment. Oh, well, the decor is more my style than yours. But you… You always seemed at home here. I’m sure I did. But I’m sorry, I…

I’m sorry. I don’t remember. Oh, well, it just might take a little time, that’s all. But there’s no pressure from me, none whatsoever. I’m all about being patient. I appreciate that. Mm hmm. We’re in this together, Abraham. We’re a team, and I’m going, I’m going to do everything I can to help you relax and settle in.

And when you start feeling more comfortable here, I just know the memories will start coming back to you, including how you feel about me. How happy we’ve been together.

Hey. Oh, hey. You, uh, getting something to eat? No, uh, Actually, I’m on my way to see Abe. I never, oh, I never thought I’d say that again. Such great news, right? Yeah. Well, listen, I, I, I gotta go, so I’ll, uh, I’ll give him a hug from you. Hey, do me a favor. Tell Pauline if she needs anything from the pharmacy, the store, whatever.

Just, I can get it for her and bring it by the apartment later. Their apartment? Yeah, I just talked to my dad. He said Abe was released today. Oh, that’s, that’s, that’s wonderful. I’ll head over there instead. I guess you didn’t get a chance to see Abe when you were at the hospital earlier. You knew I was at the hospital?

Sloan said she ran into you. Oh, yes, I was there to pick up the results of the genetic test that EJ had done, and it looks like that there’s no risk to the baby. Someone said you got good news. Yeah. It’s nice to hear that from you. I just still don’t understand how… She got my test results. What? Someone got your test results?

So you’re on a first date and this loser cannot shut up about his ex. Jeez, that must have been… awful. You haven’t had the pleasure? I mean, before Eric, I wasn’t, you know, really dating high, but I totally realized how it would suck to be sitting across from a guy and then realize he’s hung up on someone else.

Yeah, especially this guy. It was Alex Kyriakos. Oh, this just got good. Please, let me just take a shot in the dark here. He wouldn’t shut up about Stephanie Johnson. Bingo! And, you know, but at least he hired a matchmaker. He’s trying to get over her. So I take it there’s not going to be a second date? God, no.

So who’s the, who’s the lucky guy? lation. So, you ended up on another date with Melinda? Well, I mean, we didn’t plan it. I was feeling pretty discouraged, but your pep talk really helped. You see, what’d I tell you? You’re a good young man with a lot to offer.

Be confident in that and good things will follow. Thanks, Dad. So, I guess your living situation isn’t so awkward after all. It’s actually kind of perfect right now. I mean, Wendy and I aren’t sharing a room or anything. Not yet, anyway. Oh. Take it slow. Have fun. Get to know each other. Yeah. Yeah. We, uh, We kind of tried to do that the other night, but Wendy’s brother walked in on us.

Well, that had to be awkward. It was. Yeah. And poor Lee, he was totally bummed. He had come home early from a date that didn’t really go so well. That might even be an understatement. I think it actually was a total disaster. Who was his date? District Attorney Melinda Trask.

After both our dates went south, Melinda and I ended up commiserating over a bottle of wine. We actually had a nice time. So, who knows? Maybe it’s a good thing the matchmaker picked such terrible second dates for us. Or, maybe that matchmaker knew exactly what she was doing. Meaning what? Meaning, she still thinks you and Melinda pair up well.

But since your first date went so badly, she knew she couldn’t convince you to give it another shot, so… She created another shot for you. You mean she sent us both out on second dates she knew ahead of time wouldn’t go well? What, you think it’s a coincidence that both your dates happened at the same place, same time?

I don’t. I think she was creating a rematch. I

s I suppose it’s a possibility. The way I hope it works out. By the look on your face, I’m guessing you don’t think it will. I’m just not sure you can trust someone who’s already burned you before.

Colin was not right. My God, you are not just as guilty as he is. I did everything that he asked me to. I broke into your mom’s office. I sent those threatening messages. I spiked those biscuits. You did some terrible things that you need to make up for. There is no question about that. But there’s a reason why you were sentenced to community service and not prison.

You were in an emotionally abusive relationship with a very sick and dangerous man who manipulated you into doing his dirty work. I just wish that I would have been strong enough to have said no. Well, you were plenty strong up on that roof. He was about to kill me and then my mother, but you, you, you risked your own life to stop him.

I still feel like a coward. You know what a coward is? A coward is the person who was going to make my mother watch while he shot me to death. The person who cracked an innocent man in the head with a rolling pin and then left him on the floor to die. That is a coward and a monster and that, that is not you.

Thank you for saying that. I’m saying it because it’s true. Unlike what Colin said to you in that courtroom today. Even on his way to prison, he is still trying to get inside of your head. Trying to make you feel just as bad about yourself as he does. Don’t let him tell ya. You just keep going forward with your therapy, with your life, and leave him in the dust.

Yeah. Speaking of living life, I heard the news about your stepfather. So this whole time that we thought he was dead, he was being held hostage by a crazy nurse? I still can’t believe it. You know, when I was handing out the missing person flyer, I actually went to that woman’s door. If I would have known that he was inside There’s no way that you could have.

Well, I know you’re happy that he’s alive. And I’m so happy for you and your mom. Thanks. Yeah, yeah, Abe, he, he’s doing really well. You know, he’s got a clean bill of health. Now, now he just needs to get his memory back.

Look, okay, I know Tripp said to give her a second chance. I’m just cautioning you here. I appreciate that, Jing Wen. But Melinda’s little scheme wouldn’t have worked anyway, since I didn’t do it.

Right. I know that. But I’m just saying, for argument’s sake, it’s possible that she didn’t give up after the first try. And she’s, you know, playing the long game. You mean this is some kind of ploy? The woman’s nothing if not relentless. Okay, so what if she set this up with a matchmaker to make sure she’d end up alone with you again?

Then she uses the time to, I don’t know, Soften you up. You did say there was wine involved. So she keeps pouring. You keep talking. And eventually, she tries again to get you to confess to what she’s convinced you did. But since I didn’t do what she’s convinced I did, there’ll be no confession. Right, I know that.

But do you really want to get involved with someone who’s just trying to trick you? Even if that were the case, since I’m innocent, I have nothing to worry about, right?

So, sounds like Lee is really killing the mood over there, huh? Yeah, you could say that. How do I feel for the guy? I mean, his life’s been kind of a hot mess lately. Yeah, but having him live there with you and Wendy is not exactly conducive to romance. No, it is not. Yeah, and I’ve been working tons of overnights lately, and it’s been hard to find some time alone.

Abnormalities on either EJ’s side or mine, which is a huge relief. Nicole, I’m really happy for you. So, here’s hoping that Sloane and I get the same great news about our baby.

Chance: Hi.

Sharon: What’s in the basket?

Chance: Oh, well, I was wondering if you would join me for a little breakfast in the park. Let me serve you for once. I got everything you need in here, fruit, quiche, you name it, I got it.

Sharon: That sounds… wonderful.

Chance: Look, I know you got a busy schedule, but I would love to spend a little bit more time with you before things get crazy with both of us, because seeing you, sharon, is the best part of my day.

Diane: Ah, good morning, my handsome husband.

[ Chuckling ] Wait a minute. Am I dreaming? Did we really get married?

Jack: Oh, it is not a dream. We are husband and wife, mrs. Abbott.

Diane: Mrs. Abbott. I love the sound of that.

Jack: And I love you. Still feel okay about our courthouse wedding? We can do something bigger, more formal later.

Diane: No, yesterday was perfect. And– and yes, we can have a celebration later for our friends and family, a big party. No, I’m– I’m glad that we didn’t wait any longer to make it official. We got engaged for the first time, what, 25 years ago? [ Laughing ] I think we waited long enough.

Jack: And now, I am never gonna let you go. I want one more glorious moment with my beautiful wife before I face the world, and– and almost certain attack from ashley.

Diane: Well, whatever she or anyone else throws our way, we will tackle it as a team. Okay? Isn’t it nice to know where we’ll be tomorrow and next year? Even a decade from now? Together forever.

[ Diane chuckling ]

Ashley: Hi.

Ashley: I’m so happy we decided to spend the night here. I’m so sick of the jack and diane show.

Tucker: Thank god one of us had the genius idea to do a little dress rehearsal for our own wedding night.

Ashley: Yeah.

Tucker: Or should I say undress rehearsal.

Ashley: [ Imitates laughter ] So, guess what?

Tucker: What?

Ashley: I had a major realization this morning.

Tucker: Did you now?

Ashley: I’m done.

Tucker: With?

Ashley: Yeah, I’m done trying to protect jack. I’m done, I– I’ve done everything I can, and he’s too far gone, clearly, from his descent into unholy matrimony.

[ Chuckling ] So, I’m finished. I’m not gonna try to protect him anymore. To hell with that. And it’s gonna be every person for themselves.

Tucker: Oh, give us a hug.

Ashley: Okay. Yeah? Right?

[ Tucker sighing ]

[ Ashley chuckling ] You’ve evolved.

[ Sharon giggling ] Good luck.

[ Sighs ] Well, party of one.

Billy: Congratulations, once again.

Jack: Thank you, billy.

Diane: Yeah, thank you. We couldn’t be happier.

Billy: I hope you don’t mind me, uh, you know, disrupting your first morning as a newly married couple, but it’s time to talk corporate espionage.

Jack: No problem. We have a lifetime of wedded bliss to revel in. Uh, what do you got for us?

Billy: Well, I think I made some progress with ashley. She bought into our award-winning performance, and is fully convinced that I’m furious at you for rushing into the wedding with diane.

Diane: We hardly rushed.

Jack: Well, it– it doesn’t matter when or where we got married, she’s gonna think we rushed it, and it is the end of the world.

Diane: And yet, here we are.

Billy: Either way, it was a step in the right direction in order to get her and tucker to trust me. But it’s not gonna be enough. We need to keep it up. In fact, I think we need to escalate a little bit.

Jack: Whatever it takes to get them to let you into their inner circle. To think of you as a co-conspirator that they are plotting with, whatever they’re plotting for jabot and me.

Billy: Get them to change direction from within.

Diane: We really appreciate your willingness to play spy, billy.

Billy: Hm.

Diane: I– I know how much you love your brother, and how much you care about your father’s company.

Billy: Both those things are true. And if I can get a few extra bonus points for wiping that smirk off of tucker’s face in the end, well, so be it.

Katherine: What was your response to tucker’s offer?

Devon: I said, “no, thank you.” And I told him I’m just fine at jabot, even if he thinks that I don’t belong there. And I also made sure he knows that he can’t just buy my affection by creating some dazzling job for me.

Katherine: Well, I understand why you would question his motives.

Devon: I mean, look, here’s the thing, tucker says he wants me to be happy, but, I mean, you know, given how easily the guy lies, I have figured he’s just trying to use me for something.

Katherine: Well, knowing tucker, that’S… certainly not impossible.

Devon: And yet, you have given him another chance. More than one time. And katherine, I just have to ask you, how come?

Katherine: I would like to believe, despite everything, that, um… tucker is sincere in making amends.

Devon: But how do you know he’s being sincere this time?

Katherine: I don’t know that he is. I just would like to know that he is capable of change.

Devon: I said something that was pretty brutal, to him, and he seemed hurt. I don’t think he was faking it.

Katherine: Darling, the only way we are ever going to know what’s in the heart of that man is if– if we give him a chance to prove himself.

Devon: Or burn us again.

Katherine: All right, you listen to me. Like it or not, tucker is family. And you always… back up your family. No matter– no matter how much they’ve disappointed us.

Tucker: So, you are now, willing to let jack and diane just implode on their own while we focus on our thing?

Ashley: Yes. We’re just gonna sit back, and wait them out, ’cause diane’s just gonna, you know, do her worst at jabot. I know it.

Tucker: Gee, where have i heard that idea before?

Ashley: You were right. There, I said it.

Tucker: Sorry, I– I– I didn’t quite get that. Say it a little louder.

Ashley: Tucker mccall was right.

Tucker: Thank you very much.

Ashley: Yes, and, uh, diane will make a mess of things, because she has no idea what she’s doing, and then, we swoop in, we scoop up jabot’s best assets, we fold them into our own growing empire, and we save jabot.

Tucker: Right, because we can’t save jack.

Ashley: Exactly.

Tucker: Best way to preserve your father’s legacy is just to let her blow it.

Ashley: Yes.

Summer: Uh, I heard that you two got married. Congratulations.

Jack: Thank you.

Diane: Yeah, thanks, summer.

Jack: Yeah, it was a short, civil ceremony, but we’re gonna have a big, flashy celebration in the fall. We’d like you to be part of that.

Summer: Of course.

Jack: So, how’re you doing?

Summer: Uh, I’m hanging in there. I’m focusing on work. And you know that I brought chelsea on as creative director of marchetti.

Jack: Yes, I had heard that. I think it’s an excellent hire. She’s a very talented woman. She had a unique perspective on her chelsea by jabot designs years ago. I have every faith in your vision for marchetti. I cannot wait to see what the two of you accomplish together.

Summer: Thanks. Um, so, I was over at the house earlier seeing harrison, and he– he mentioned that kyle’s on a trip?

Diane: I’m surprised kyle didn’t tell you. He’s– he’s in new york on business.

Summer: With audra.

Jack: I believe so, yeah.

[ Exhaling sharply ]

Summer: What a surprise.

Jack: Well, she is his boss at newman media.

Summer: That’s not all she is.

Diane: What are you saying, summer?

Summer: They’re sleeping together.

Jack: Oh, honey, you shouldn’t assume that.

Summer: No, I’m not assuming. Kyle freely admitted it. He ditched jabot, he ditched me, and now I guess, he has everything that he wants. Sorry, um, I gotta go. I’m gonna talk to pr about announcing, um, chelsea’s hiring. I’ll– I’ll catch up with y’all later.

[ Jack sighing ]

Jack: I still have my concerns.

Billy: Yeah? Why is that? Because you don’t think I can pull it off, jack?

Jack: No. Not at all. I don’t like putting you in an untenable situation. Billy, I admire how you have turned your life around. But disrupting a company and pretending to fail? That could stigmatize you in the business world at large.

Billy: Okay, well, I’m not worried about my reputation or what the public thinks about me, okay? Especially, not when it comes to protecting our family. Our father’s legacy. Jabot’s legacy.

Jack: Dad would be very proud of you for stepping up like this.

Billy: Well, it’s not like I’m falling back into my old ways, right? I’m doing what’s necessary to make sure that this doesn’t get out of hand.

Jack: You do realize, once we start this, there is no turning back.

Billy: Yeah, hi. Uh, this is billy abbott. I’m wondering if my sister, ashley, is there by chance? The dining room. And she’s there now? No, no, that’s fine. Thank you. I will, uh– I’ll come by. You as well. Thank you.

Tucker: Can I just have one piece of toast with my coffee? Thank you very much. So, what do you make of billy’s growing disillusionment with his older brother? Can that be useful to us?

Ashley: I don’t know. He was absolutely furious with him though, wasn’t he?

Tucker: Yeah.

Ashley: Enough to betray jack? Is that what you’re hinting at?

Tucker: Just looking at all the angles.

Ashley: Billy’s capable of it. He and jack have gone head to head on several issues over the years. Do you think we should lead him along, and see where it goes?

Tucker: Can he be led along? Or is he still more of a “looking out for number one” type guy.

Ashley: Well, he has been, but I think he’s definitely in a different headspace now. Can you imagine how great it would be if he was on our side, tucker? How helpful that would be? It would be incredible.

Tucker: I know, so, let’s begin the grand persuasion.

Ashley: Hm. Good idea. Billy. Join us.

Chance: Thanks.

Summer: Here you are again.

Chance: Wow, this is getting weird.

Summer: Picnic? Seems kind of elaborate for one person.

Chance: Yeah. It was supposed to be for two, but didn’t really work out. Hey, you hungry?

Summer: Uh, I don’t really have much of an appetite. But I– I guess, I could sit with you while you eat.

Chance: You free right now?

Summer: I actually, just had a meeting canceled, so, yeah.

Chance: Well, great. Grab a coffee, come with me. You know that feeling of having to rewash

Chance: Yeah?

Summer: So, audra and kyle are on a trip together.

Chance: Hm. That just sounds like normal newman media business, right? That makes sense.

Summer: Thank you for trying to be nice, but you and I both know that my husband, and yeah, he’s still my husband, is sleeping with audra.

[ Scoffs ]

Chance: I’m sorry.

Summer: Learning about this trip, it– it hit me hard.

Chance: Yeah, I can imagine.

Summer: I guess, I can’t pretend like it’s a casual thing anymore. I mean, they’re together at work, they’re together after work, it’s just like kyle and i used to be, you know? And I– I don’t– I don’t even know why I care. I mean, kyle, he just dropped me. Like it was nothing to him. So, why– why can’t I let it go? When am I gonna get to a better place, like where you are?

[ Sighing ]

Chance: Summer, I– I don’t think grief has a timetable like that. And make no mistake, that is what you’re feeling. You’re grieving the end of your marriage. And not just that, you’re grieving what you thought your life was gonna be like.

Summer: So different from this.

Chance: Yeah. Exactly. That’s why it stings. You know, I dreamed that abby and dominic and i would do all these things, right? Vacations, anniversaries, celebrations. Growing old together. None of that’s gonna happen. And so, I had to grieve this future that I imagined before I could move on. So, you’ll get there.

Summer: I’ve lost kyle before, you know? But this, it feels different. It’s just, like, every time I think that I’m inching a little bit closer to being able to… let it go, I–

Chance: It slips away, right?

Summer: Yeah.

Chance: You’re back at the beginning.

Summer: Maybe, what I need is closure.

Chance: Well, personally, I don’t think closure is a thing. I mean, every time you see kyle, all these– all this stuff is just gonna come rushing back. You know, the good, the bad.

Summer: Oh, great. Something to look forward to.

[ Chance chuckling ]

Chance: Well, maybe, it’ll be different for you, but that’s how it is for me. Hurts less each time. I can’t avoid seeing abby. This is genoa city. Plus, we’re doing the co-parenting thing, so, just like you, you’re gonna see kyle if you wanna be part of harrison’s life.

Summer: Well, of course, I’m gonna be a part of harrison’s life. I’m not giving that up.

Chance: So, what if kyle showed up right now, and said he forgives you? Then what?

[ Scoffs ]

Summer: I don’t– I don’t think that we could get back to where we were. Too much has changed.

Diane: What is kyle thinking? He has to know that he’s causing more problems for himself with summer.

Jack: I’m not sure kyle is doing much thinking these days.

Diane: Aren’t you worried about what he’s doing?

Jack: Of course I am. I have watched kyle and summer overcome so many things. I thought they would overcome this, too, eventually, but– well, given this, even if kyle can manage to forgive summer, I– I don’t know if there’s gonna be a chance for them to salvage their relationship now.

Diane: This just breaks my heart. I mean, we have found such happiness, and yet our son is making an utter mess of his life. I wish there was something we could do to help him.

Jack: You know what, I share that wish. But this is something only kyle can fix. Look, I think this dalliance with audra charles is an escape. A– a way to run from the pain. A– a means for staying numb and not thinking about anything for as long as he possibly can. I know something about this. I’ve been there.

[ Sighing ]

Diane: So, we’re worried about kyle and we have to watch our backs with your sister. This is… some way to start a marriage.

Jack: This marriage is the one thing that is going right. It is our happiness that gives me the confidence to believe we can solve this and anything else. Personally or professionally. Together.

Diane: Hmm.

Billy: What, you didn’t like what mrs. Martinez made for breakfast this morning?

Ashley: Mm-hm. We needed a break from the newlyweds.

Tucker: I’m late for my meeting with dom and devon, so I’m gonna go.

Ashley: Okay.

Tucker: I’ll see you later.

Ashley: Okay, bye. Give dominic a kiss for me.

Tucker: I will. William.

Billy: Tuck.

Ashley: So? How you doing? How are you feeling about our brother today?

[ Billy chuckling ] I don’t suppose you had any inclination to reach out to him after what happened last night?

Billy: No. Uh, no, I avoided them at all cost, which was, uh, lucky for me. Thought about it all night, couldn’t sleep, so I came here to get a workout, maybe shake off the stress, you know?

Ashley: I can’t think about anything else. Billy, I’m at my wit’s end. I mean, something has to be done and it has to happen fast. Don’t you agree?

Billy: Are you still planning to take legal action and get your assets out of jabot?

[ Ashley chuckling ]

Ashley: Oh, absolutely. And you do know that diane will be gunning for your job, right?

Billy: Yeah, I’ve thought about that. Why stop at the chief talent officer position when you can have the co-ceo position?

Ashley: Exactly. So, queen diane will be sitting right next to king jack, and they’ll be reigning over everything, and our father’s home, our father’s company, and jack’s letting it happen.

Billy: What if we don’t let it happen? I mean, I’ve tried, but I don’t– I mean, how do we talk sense into him?

Ashley: Oh, I don’t even think that’s possible anymore, frankly. And you know that he’s gonna be, you know, out to spite me. Probably you, too, after what happened last night.

Billy: So, what does that mean for jabot?

Ashley: What do you think? I mean, it puts the company in a very precarious situation, don’t you think? I mean, unless jack opens his eyes and sees diane for who she really is, I think jabot is destined to fail. And then our father’s once vibrant, expansive, global company is gonna crash and burn, and we’re not gonna have anything to leave our children, our grandchildren, and the whole thing is incredibly depressing.

Billy: I hate what jack is doing. I’m not a big fan of diane’s, but I’m not about to give up on jabot. So, you tell me, do you have any plans on how to save ourselves from this? Before it gets out of hand?

Ashley: I have an idea. I’m not sure how you’re gonna feel about it.

Billy: Try me.

Ashley: Well, you’re still there. And you have the inside track. How far are you willing to go to protect what’s ours? You can’t leave without cuddles.

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Chance: All right, that’s a good start. You’re accepting the reality of the situation. Reconciliation with kyle is not gonna happen. You said it out loud. It’s a big step. And I know it’s not easy.

Summer: I know that you know.

[ Summer sighing ]

Chance: Oh, check it out. There is an american goldfinch right there, you see it?

Summer: What?

Chance: An american goldfinch, the bird. Look, right there. Look at that tree. I bet you he flies by again. It’s black and yellow, that’s how you know it’s a male.

Summer: Are you a bird watcher or something?

Chance: I know a little. I got my bird study badge when I was in the scouts.

[ Chuckling ]

Summer: Wait, everybody calls you a boy scout but you actually were one.

Chance: Ah, yeah. Yeah, I was. You know, my mom, she didn’t really have a traditional upbringing, so she wanted me to try all the normal kids activities.

Summer: Hm.

Chance: Yeah.

Summer: I get that. Uh, my mom had me go to summer camp. And then she and I, we were actually in a mother-daughter scout-like organization.

Chance: No way. With, like, uniforms and badges and the whole getup?

Summer: Yeah.

Chance: Phyllis?

Summer: [ Laughing ] Yes.

Chance: Wow.

Summer: We were– we were called, um, the sunflower girls, and, yeah, uh, we– we went to a few meetings, we made, uh, beaded jewelry, and we made smores over fire, and it– it didn’t last that long though ’cause it’s like you said, not very phyllis-like.

Chance: [ Chuckling ] Yeah. Hey! Hey! I, uh– I thought you had a meeting.

Sharon: Well, you went to so much trouble, I felt bad turning you down for a picnic, so I told adam that we had to push our meeting back. Um, I came back here to try to catch you, but I see that summer has taken my place.

Tucker: I tell ya, that kid gets cuter by the day.

[ Devon chuckling]

Devon: He could just be the cutest little ring bearer this town’s ever seen.

Tucker: Really?

Devon: Hey. Maybe. We’ll see.

[ Tucker gasping ]

[ Groaning ]

Tucker: Well, I just gotta tell you, yet again, devon, how honored I am that you agreed to be my best man. Um… I don’t think I can come up the words to express it.

[ Chuckles ]

Devon: Well, hey, I’m– I’m very happy that things are working out for you, and abby and i are both very happy for you and ashley. Wish you guys the best.

Tucker: Thanks.

Devon: But I gotta say that abby’s not too thrilled with her mom right now.

Tucker: Oh, wow. Abby more upset with her mom than she is with me.

Devon: Yeah.

Tucker: Who saw this day coming?

Devon: It just– it seems like ashley’s determined to tear down jabot just ’cause of how much she hates diane, and doesn’t care about who she hurts in the process.

Tucker: No, that’s not quite true. You know how much jabot means to ashley. She’s just concerned that jack and diane are gonna do irreparable harm to the company and to themselves. To jack. And I think– I hope, that I have dissuaded ashley from pursuing her more, uh, aggressive plans, and instead concentrate on the wedding, and our new venture together, kind of thing.

Devon: Yeah. It’s crazy ’cause it sounds like you’re the logical, clear-headed one in the relationship, man.

Tucker: I know, who would’ve thunk, right?

Devon: Yeah.

Tucker: Yeah. And she won’t say it, but I think this feud with jack’s really breaking her heart. So, I’m gonna do whatever I can to spare her any more pain.

Devon: Well, I don’t see how abby can find any fault in that.

Ashley: You are in the perfect position to expose diane. She can’t be trusted. Now, I’ve always known that, and I’m incredibly grateful that you know that, too. Now that she is firmly ensconced in jabot’s executive suite, it’s only a matter of time before she shows everybody who she really is.

Billy: Go on.

Ashley: And with a little bit of prodding…

Billy: By me.

Ashley: Yes. She’s going to mess everything up because, billy, she doesn’t know what the hell she’s doing on her mad quest for power. And ultimately, everybody will see how she’s hurting our father’s company.

Billy: So, you want me to push her buttons?

Ashley: In ways that I have never been able to. I’ve seen it clearly. You can fix everything. That can lead to skin and saves me money? I’m starting to like downy.

Summer: I– I’m gonna get going. Chance made this beautiful picnic for you, sharon, so you should enjoy it.

Sharon: Uh, no, summer, don’t be silly. Why don’t you stay? I’m sure that chance’s idea of a meal for two was based on his hearty appetite, so I’m sure there’s enough food to go around.

[ Summer chuckling ]

Summer: Um, nah, I gotta get to work anyway, so. Thanks.

Chance: Yeah.

Sharon: How is she doing?

Chance: Oh, well, you know how tough the end of a marriage can be. She’s a strong woman, though. She’ll be all right. Anyways, have a seat. Welcome. Jump on in. What do we got? I got everything. I got, you know, some quiche…

Devon: Yeah, I do need to confess, though, that abby and I both thought that you were the one pushing ashley to go to war with jack.

Tucker: Don’t worry about that. I totally understand why you would, given my past.

Devon: Yeah.

Tucker: But, now it’s not the case.

Devon: Yeah, I know that. Abby believes that now, too. She has a completely different opinion about it and she thinks her mom is the one who’s behind going after jack and the company.

Tucker: Hm.

Devon: And she’s kind of freaked out about it ’cause you know how much she loves her mother and her family.

Tucker: Oh, yeah. But she really shouldn’t worry because there’s nothing too nefarious about any of ashley’s intentions. She just doesn’t trust diane. Neither do I, frankly. She wants to save jack and preserve the sterling legacy of jabot and all that.

Devon: Well, maybe ashley just needs to make that clear to abby. ‘Cause I don’t honestly think ashley realizes how an abbott sibling battle could have consequences that go way past just business.

Tucker: Okay. I’ll do whatever I can. Ashley and abby should not be at odds right now. Especially now.

Ashley: I did not handle things well. I admit it. I mean, I was angry, and I– I let my resentment get the best of me. But even after what happened last night, you and jack and diane are still on better terms than– than I am, for sure.

Billy: So you– you want me to spy on them for you and nudge diane to the dark side?

Ashley: No, I’m not asking you to spy, billy, and very little nudging. I mean, maybe a gentle push until diane shows her true agenda. The company falters, it’s– it’s weakened, and then we move in and we acquire jabot, and we save our father’s company. You and i save our father’s company. Okay? It’s for the good of jabot, don’t you see that?

Billy: Ashley–

Ashley: We’re talking about our father’s legacy. Okay? You could be the hero of the family. Do you get that?

Billy: Yeah. I get it, okay? I understand preserving our family’s legacy, but what you’re asking me to do right now…

[ Sighing ] I’m gonna have to think about it.

Jack: So, you feeling any better?

Diane: About finding a new director of marketing? Yes. About our son making a mess of his life? No.

[ Knocking on door ]

Summer: Hey. Sorry to interrupt again.

Jack: No, not at all. Come on in.

Summer: I thought that you might wanna see a hard copy of the press release announcing chelsea’s hiring.

Jack: Yeah. This is– this is great. Thank you. Hey. You all right?

Summer: No. [ Chuckles ] But I will be.

Diane: Let us know if there’s anything we can do.

Summer: I think that I’m just starting to accept that it’s over between me and kyle. There’s no going back to what we had, and if he can move on, so can I. So, that’s what I’m gonna do now. Thanks.

[ Jack sighing ] Trelegy for copd.

Sharon: Summer needs a friend right now. It’s nice that you could be there for her.

Chance: Yeah, you know, I’m still getting to know her. I can just relate to what she’s going through. But enough about summer. I wanna focus on you.

Sharon: Oh, yeah?

Chance: Yeah. I am very happy you were able to join me today. Hope I didn’t put too much pressure on you. I know getting this company up and running is priority number one, and I do not wanna get in the way.

Sharon: Seeing you is the best part of my day, too. My life is expanding in ways that I could’ve never anticipated. But I can’t let business get in the way of what matters most.

Chance: Like this blueberry.

[ Chuckling ]

Tucker: I’m back. I said hello to our grandson.

Ashley: Thank you. Did you have fun?

Tucker: Yeah. The kid’s got one hell of a playroom. I think I could go over there every day and not play with the same toy twice.

Ashley: Hm.

Tucker: So, what did billy have to say?

Ashley: Yeah. Well, he didn’t agree to help us. I mean, not verbatim, but I think he’s leaning that way. And can you imagine how wonderful it would be if he did? We could actually save jabot. I mean, we could. And maybe, maybe even jack. I mean, well, listen, it might not be too late. That’s– that’s all I’m saying, okay? That’s it.

Tucker: Yes. Whatever you say, my dear. I– I am still most interested in what we are creating together. That’s the destination that I– I care about. How we get there doesn’t matter to me. But we have some more urgent matters to discuss.

Ashley: What?

Tucker: You need to make things right with abby.

Ashley: What are you talking about? Things are pretty good with abby. I mean, you know–

Tucker: Yeah, you know.

Ashley: What?

Tucker: But what we’re planning, right? Uh, no matter how we spin it, no matter how we go about it, could come between the two of you, so I just think we need to do whatever it takes to prevent that from happening.

Jack: Hey.

Billy: Hey. I got some news.

Jack: About ashley?

Billy: Our sister asked me to join her version of our plan. She wants me to be a trojan horse here in jabot in order to push you to become greedy and controlling so you would then see her for who she really is.

Jack: My god.

Billy: The master plan, as far as I see it, is to allow diane to damage jabot.

Jack: Wait, damage it how?

Billy: Her ambitions. Her bad decisions. Her words, not mine. My role in the whole thing is to basically allow it to happen. To let jabot fall, not so far that it actually harms the reputation, but enough for tucker and ashley to come in and rake the assets, the employees. Ashley and tucker’s new company, simply “ashley,” I think it’s named, would then take control. Swallow up jabot. This is our sister’s plan to protect our father’s legacy. It’s a power play if I’ve ever seen one.

Diane: So, this is all about me? Ashley has hated me since the first day I set foot in this building decades ago. But you know what, don’t get angry. This is a good thing.

Jack: A good thing?

Diane: Yes. She and tucker clearly trust billy enough to include him in their plans. We just need to figure out how to use that to our advantage.

Tracy continues to pressure Brook Lynn to give her information about Deception. Brook Lynn tells Tracy that since Sasha’s scandal the only thing keeping the company afloat right now are sales of the Deceptor and she isn’t going to betray her friends to help Tracy ruin the company.

Dante brings Eddie home after a night of singing and drinking. Eddie argues with Olivia after she tells him he is too old to stay out all night drinking. Eddie continues to bond with Leo who seems to be the only person who can get through to him. Leo tells Eddie he made Olivia cry, so Eddie softens toward Olivia and he agrees to have breakfast with her and Leo.

Chase questions Sonny about Gordon Stevens death and he tells Chase to talk to his lawyer.

Martin visits Cyrus at the hospital and Cyrus tells Martin he has given him access to his trust fund so he can give away all his money. Cyrus explains to Martin that he had a near death experience and the Lord has given him a job to do. Cyrus tells Martin to use the money to set up a rehabilitation program for the inmates at Pentonville.

Laura asks Valentin to go back to Port Charles because Anna and Charlotte need him. Laura and Kevin head to Cassidine Island to search for Nikolas.

Sam calls Carly to tell her she called Pentonville to ask when she and Scout could visit Drew but was told he couldn’t have visitors because he is in solitary confinement.

Nikki forces Nate to be honest with her about his future with Victoria and Newman Enterprises. Nate admits to Nikki that he isn’t in love with Victoria, but they are not putting labels on their relationship. Nate also tells Nikki that his dream is to work side by side with Victoria at Newman Enterprises. Nikki warns Nate that if he hurts Victoria he will be gone from her life and the company so fast his head will spin.

Chloe doesn’t want to work at Newman Enterprises with Victor as her boss, so if Sally takes the job she will do it on her own. Sally tells Adam she is still grieving baby Ava, but she is trying to move on with her life. Adam tells Sally he isn’t at the point where he can talk about his grief yet.

Adam gives Phyllis leverage on Tucker. Adam tells Phyllis Tucker covered up a scandal that involved a famous singer and several underage girls. Phyllis tells Tucker that if he brings Carson back to testify on her behalf she will keep her mouth shut about the singer.

Christine tells Phyllis that if she pleads guilty at trial, and accepts her sentence, she will consider not bringing charges against Summer for helping her.

Steffy: What do you mean sheila saved kelly’s life? What was she doing anywhere near her?

Finn: I was– I was distracted. I was on a phone call with my nurse about my patient and that’s when– that’s when kelly–

Steffy: Was pulled out into the ocean? She almost drowned?

Finn: Yeah. That’s when I made the biggest mistake of my life and I took my eyes off her. She was screaming my name and then–

Steffy: Oh, my god.

Finn: Then that’s when sheila ran into the water and thank god for my mom because sheila saved kelly’s life.

Wyatt: I can’t believe that you showed steffy a video of finn hugging his psychopathic birth mother and she didn’t even blink an eye?

Liam: No, she blinked. There– there was blinking.

Wyatt: So, you’re–

Liam: I’m saying instinctively, she’s gonna wanna defend her husband, right? So, now I– I– I don’t know what to do.

Wyatt: Well, there’s gotta be a way to convince her that– that finn can’t be trusted. I mean, he clearly has a connection to that lunatic.

Liam: I know, but steffy wants to trust him. She wants to give him the benefit of the doubt. Now…

[ Liam chuckling ] Finn is gonna find out I’m not so generous.

Sheila: Oh.

Deacon: Here. You okay? It’s hot.

Sheila: Thank you. Ooh. Yeah, I think I’m just a little bit in shock.

Deacon: Well, you did something pretty amazing today. You saved steffy’s daughter.

Sheila: It all happened so fast and I… I didn’t even think. I just knew I had to act.

Deacon: Thank god you did because it doesn’t always end this way when it comes to kids and water. This could’ve been a very different story if you hadn’t been there.

Sheila: You know, finn, he… he only looked away for a minute. He was horrified when– when he saw what happened.

Deacon: Horrified, but grateful to you, his mother, for being there.

[ Sheila chuckling ]

Sheila: He has to know, right? I mean, he really has to know how much I love him and that I would do anything for him and his family.

Deacon: You know who you are? You are a hero. Truly. There’s no other word to describe it.

[ Sheila chuckling ]

Sheila: I did what anybody would’ve done.

Deacon: I don’t know about that. It was pretty selfless. I mean, you could’ve been pulled out of that undertow too. You may have just pulled off a miracle. Come up with a way to prove to finn that you deserve to be in his life.

Sheila: That’s– that’s not what I was trying to do. All I was thinking about was kelly and her safety and that precious, little girl, she’s a part of finn’s family, which means she’s part of my family too. I– I treasure them. Steffy and hayes too. They mean everything in the world to me. I’ve been given a second chance at freedom. I– I can– I can do this. I know I can be a– a good force in– in finn’s life. I can make that happen.

Wyatt: Sheila’s not gonna give up. I’m telling you, bro. She’s– she’s gonna keep coming and coming after steffy and finn and those kids and– and everyone knows about her twisted, insatiable need to be loved.

Liam: Yeah, and right now, she wants that love from finn.

Wyatt: Yeah. I mean, you– you gotta do something about this. I’m serious.

Liam: I intend to do something– okay, first of all, steffy can’t turn a blind eye forever, right? Secondly, what finn did was messed up and not normal and I’m not just gonna let it go because steffy asked me too. I mean, this could put all of them in danger, including my daughter.

Steffy: My baby could’ve drowned. Oh, my– oh, my god. I think I might be sick.

Finn: I know. It makes me sick too. And look, I just– I turned my back for a second.

Steffy: You never, ever turn your back on a child at the water! You know that!

Finn: I know that, I know that, and it was– it was stupid and– and– and it was careless, right? But you need to believe me, honey. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if anything happened to her, but nothing did happen to her, steffy. Look, she’s safe, okay? She’s all right and she’s in her room.

Steffy: Because of sheila.

Finn: Yes. And look, I know how you feel about my mother, rightfully so, but look, she saved kelly today. How can I not be anything but grateful for that? So maybe, you should just cut her some slack. Martial arts is my passion.

Deacon: I could– I could only imagine how finn felt seeing kelly out there in the water helpless.

Sheila: If anything had happened to her, he never would have forgiven himself.

Deacon: You were there.

Sheila: Yeah. He called me “mom.”

Deacon: What?

Sheila: Yeah, when he– when he thanked me for saving kelly’s life, he called me mom. Yeah, after everything, I just… I never thought that my heart could– could ever feel this full.

Deacon: I remember– I remember the moment that I finally felt that hope acknowledged and accepted me. It’s incredible, isn’t it?

Sheila: That love. I mean, kelly even asked him if I was his really his mother and finn told her yes, that I was his mother. That’s a moment that I am never gonna forget. I, suddenly– the past, all the terrible mistakes I made, they just didn’t matter. I was– I was just a mom. That’s it. I wasn’t a monster and I wasn’t feared. I was just a mother and that’s all I’ve ever wanted to be.

Liam: I understand steffy’s desire to defend her husband. She doesn’t wanna think that finn is vulnerable to somebody as– as sick and twisted and dangerous as sheila, but even when I showed her the video of them hugging, she still kinda, like, made excuses for him.

Wyatt: Okay, well then, you gotta keep trying, man. The stakes are way too high right now.

Liam: We agree. I’m gonna– I’m gonna keep trying. I can’t trust finn right now just as a stepfather. Like, I don’t care if he’s married to steffy.

Wyatt: Right. And– and that– that has nothing to do with this, right? 100%?

Liam: The– what?

Wyatt: The fact that finn and steffy are married and that you might be having feelings for her again.

Liam: I’m not trying to undermine steffy’s marriage. Yes, of course, I– I care about her. I’m always gonna look out for her, want her to be safe, but this is about my daughter living under that roof, right? And if finn is putting her at risk, I’m not backing down.

Steffy: You want me to cut sheila some slack?

Finn: I know you’re horrified about what could’ve happened and I am too. It’s terrifying thinking about kelly–

Steffy: Kelly drowning all alone?

Finn: Look, I’m never gonna be able to get those screams out of my mind and I am sorry. Steffy, I am so sorry.

Steffy: I know you are.

Finn: I am. I’m sorry, but we just– we need to keep reminding ourselves that kelly, she is all right and the fact that sheila was there was a miracle. I mean, she’s– she’s a hero.

Steffy: A hero?

Finn: I mean, yeah, if we’re being realistic.

Steffy: Realistic? Because of sheila, kelly almost lost her mother. Hayes almost lost both of his parents. Sheila, your hero, was willing to let us die after shooting us. Have you forgotten?

Finn: No, I haven’t– I– all I care about at this point is that kelly is here. She’s with us. We can still hold her. We can read her a bedtime story tonight. What could have happened, didn’T. Sheila prevented it. Okay, today, sheila saved a life. Hey, it’s me…your skin.

So she kidnapped herself a new husband? Marlena thinks she had a break with reality. And yet she was able to function here as a nurse. Crazy, huh? Yeah. So you really think she had this break? Or did she decide that a stint in Bayview would be easier than doing a hard time in prison? Marlena says she’s not faking it.

Well, you know what? I don’t care how traumatized her crazy nurse king was. The fact is, she had the wherewithal to kidnap Abe and make his friends and family believe that he was dead. She replaced his world with a world full of lies. And worst of all, she might have cost Abe the chance to ever remember who he is.

You need to remember your life here, Abe. I just know it. When you get home, and you see Mama, something is gonna happen. And you are going to remember how much you love her. I sincerely hope you’re right. And if I’m wrong? Well, let me tell you something about your wife. There is no quit in Paulina Price. So she will move heaven and earth to make you remember.

He had access to your file, which is when he obviously could have read it. The timing feels too convenient. How so? Maybe it’s somebody who’s currently in the wsb who released all that information to make her look bad. They want her out. She’s a good agent and they don’t want her looking around. Well, that explains a lot. Yes. Yeah. I-I’m starting up an lgbtqia+ youth center here in port charles. The idea is to provide temporary housing. Why do you ask? Oh, nina was telling me about it. Nina? Oh, yeah. She brags about you all the time. She thinks the work that you’re doing is amazing. I-I-I didn’t know she felt that way. For what it’s worth, nina and your dad are really proud of you, and I think what you’re doing is great. I mean, all the lives that you’re gonna touch and save? But nothing like you’re capable of. The night I held you hostage, there was a moment where I-I-i thought I was going to die. And, uh… I was gonna take you with me so I didn’t have to be alone. You told me weeks ago what might happen to you — the cramping, the slurred speech, the muscle imbalance. I’ve already seen evidence of those things. I know you have. No matter how hard you try to cover this up, your body is starting to betray you. So how much longer do you think you can hide this? I’m right, aren’t I? Only thing we know for sure is that gun that was used should have been locked up at a wsb facility in berlin. And the only people with access to it would be inside the agency. Okay, well, there we have it, then. It’s got to be an inside job. Yeah. Whoever, they knew victor had your file. Maybe they’re even the ones who gave it to him. They knew once the file was released that anna would be disgraced and arrested. Well, they got one part right. I was certainly disgraced. Yeah, but you weren’t arrested. You got out in front of it. You resigned from the wsb. I was forced to. Be that as it may, you’re walking around free. I-I don’t know if looking over your shoulder every five minutes is free. Right, but that explains the shot at you. Whoever it is considers you a threat. They either took the shot themselves or hired someone else to do it. Did what themselves? Take a shot at anna?

Be honest. How are you feeling about all this? Do you really want to be a father? Yes or no? More than anything, yes. Do you want the child to have your dna? Baby, I would love our child no matter what, and you and I will make the best parents any kid could ask for, regardless of their dna. I know that you would love our child no matter what, but you didn’t answer my question. Do you want our child to have your dna? Would that be my preference to have our child be biologically mine? Yes, I’d like that. And — and how soon down the road are you thinking? A year, two, maybe three? I’m ready now. I’m ready now. I am, too, to all of it. I-I want a baby. My symptoms have gotten more frequent and they’re getting more severe, which makes whatever time I have left that much more precious before chase and finn find out I have als. Gregory, you have one son who’s a doctor and you have one son that’s a detective. How long do you think it’s gonna be before they figure it out? But right now, they look at me, they still see their dad, not someone whose terrible decline is looming on the horizon, wondering if my end is near. But I just want to enjoy what little time I have left with them without them worrying about it getting cut short. I-I was quick to judge you, and I turned my back on you when instead, I should have been reaching out to you and trying to help you, so that leaves a lot of room for me to do better. Abby: If you’ll excuse me, one second. This isn’t good for you, mom. You have to let it go.

Ashley: I’m trying. It’s not that simple.

Abby: Uncle jack and diane, they’re already married. There’s nothing you can do about it now.

Ashley: Well, there’s a lot that I plan to do about it, abby.

Abby: Why?

Ashley: Oh, my god, we have gone over this.

Abby: I guess, I just– I don’t understand why them marrying each other is such a big deal to you.

Ashley: Are you really that naive?

Abby: I guess I am. So, please enlighten me.

Ashley: Well, jack and diane’s decision to get married today was not some madcap romp to the courthouse so those two crazy kids could tie the knot. It was a bullet aimed directly at me.

Abby: Okay, but they have been engaged since the gala and so much has happened since then. None of this is about you–

Ashley: Abby, please. They were trying to make a point. Well, point taken. I’m gonna show them they can’t shoot me down so easily.

Daniel: Hey.

Lily: Hi. I have a surprise for you. Hurry up.

Chance: Hey.

Summer: Oh, hi.

Chance: We seem to keep uh, meeting like this.

Summer: I know, are you following me or something?

Chance: Uh, no, just getting some coffee.

Summer: Sorry, dumb question I guess.

Chance: It’s all good.

Summer: It’s been a long day. Thank you.

Chance: Yeah, I can tell. You know, I’m happy to listen if you want to talk.

Summer: Uh, I– I don’t, actually.

Chance: Okay. Does that mean you don’t wanna talk to me or you don’t want to talk to a cop?

Summer: Well, it’s kind of the same thing, isn’t it?

Chance: I can tell something’s bothering you. And whatever it is, I’m guessing it has to do with phyllis.

Adam: Phyllis. What a surprise. Um…

Phyllis: Housewarming gift.

Adam: What? Okay. Um, you shouldn’t have.

Phyllis: I know.

Adam: Come in. Okay. Well, since you already have the job if you want it and you’re not exactly a housewarming gift type, to what else do I owe the pleasure?

Phyllis: Wow, adam. You know me so well.

Adam: Well, I could say the same to you.

Phyllis: Well, think of this housewarming gift as a, um, symbol of our future collaboration.

Adam: A symbol?

Phyllis: Mm-hmm, yeah. A symbol sort of, you know, prickly and never dies like you. Or bitter resentment.

Adam: Whose?

Phyllis: Yours. Towards certain members of your family. Um, in particular… nick. Listen, let’s just cut to the chase. How was nick when you told him that I might be working with you? Was he okay with it or was it like a grenade that blew up in his face? To 50 years with my best friend.

[ Phyllis laughing ]

Phyllis: So, it’s a dead issue?

Adam: No, their reaction was more at me not running it by them. When they thought about it, they came on board.

Phyllis: Just like that?

Adam: Phyllis, why don’t you have a seat?

Phyllis: Okay.

Adam: You know, I did have to do a little singing, a little dancing.

Phyllis: To convince them to work with someone like me?

Adam: Well, someone who has skills and experience of tremendous value to the company.

Phyllis: At a reasonable price.

Adam: No, I also told them that you need to turn your life around for summer and daniel. And nick paid particular attention to that part. I think that’s what ultimately sealed the deal. He wants things to be okay with you and your kids.

Phyllis: Wow, that’s very nice. I appreciate that. Hey, listen, um… I really want this to work. With as little chaos and– and drama as possible.

[ Adam laughing ]

Adam: Are you being serious?

Phyllis: Yeah, I’m being serious. You know I’ve had enough of that to last a lifetime.

Adam: I– I understand, but the four of us, we have a long history of stirring up conflict. So, if you’re looking for peace, calm, and serenity, I can’t guarantee that.

Phyllis: Hey, well, I’m going to do my part to keep the waters calm, so.

Adam: Fair enough. You know, I actually believe you. And I actually believe that the right people are in the right positions and this crazy idea just might work. So, why don’t we just get to the point?

Phyllis: I thought I had.

Adam: Phyllis, you told me on the phone that you have conditions for taking this job. Now, you have already brought me the cactus, you’ve asked about nick. So, what is the real, real reason that you’re here?

Phyllis: I need you to find something to take tucker mccall down.

Abby: When will this war end, mom?

Ashley: When somebody wins. And it’s gonna be me.

Abby: But the family loses, then we all lose.

Devon: Yeah, I think that abby’s right because lily and I went through something similar recently, as you guys know. And we said a lot of things that hurt and became public knowledge. And then by the time we made up and came back together, we realized that it was a mistake to fight in the first place.

Tucker: Maybe that’s not quite a fair comparison.

Devon: Why not?

Tucker: Well, because neither you nor lily introduced the kind of chaos into chancellor-winters that jack is into jabot by pushing diane into it. And despite his claims that he’s pursuing love, that’s just bs. It’s nothing but a willful disruption of the family business, nothing more.

Ashley: Exactly, that woman is going to destroy everything we have spent years building.

Abby: Okay, so if jabot is your biggest worry, then why did you walk away?

Ashley: I couldn’t stay there. I couldn’t watch while jack let diane burn jabot to the ground.

Abby: So, you left the family company to start a competing business with someone that uncle jack doesn’t like or trust. How is that any better? If you really want to protect the abbott family business legacy, then stay at the company. Fight the battle from the inside.

[ Daniel humming ]

Lily: Surprise! [ Laughing ]

Daniel: Yeah, surprise. What is all this?

Lily: This is relaxation. I thought I could help take your mind off your mom’s troubles for a while.

Daniel: Yeah, but, um–

Lily: Yeah, and I know how much you love doing art and that you go to this very special place when you are. So, that’s what we’re gonna do.

Daniel: We’re gonna draw?

Lily: Yes, you’re gonna draw. Still life with fruit bowl.

[ Lily chuckling ]

Summer: Chance, I would love to be able to talk to you about this, but–

Chance: I’m a cop and your mom’s on trial for murder. Yeah. But, you know what? You have confided in me before and that didn’t go anywhere else.

Summer: I know. But the thing is I don’t trust my instincts anymore ’cause I keep on screwing things up, so I think I’m just gonna sit with this one, miserably.

Chance: I’ll make you a deal. You shoot me straight. Tell me everything on your mind and I will sit here and I will stay, and as long as it doesn’t involve any kind of future crimes, I will be here for you, as your friend.

[ Summer chuckling ]

Summer: I would really love to believe that chance, I would.

Chance: You can trust me. You have my word.

Summer: I think that my mom is not being completely honest with me and daniel.

Chance: Why do you think that?

Summer: It’s just a feeling that I get. Plus, knowing her and how she operates.

Chance: Well, fair enough. What do you think she’s hiding?

Summer: I don’t know, but it’s big. Even bigger than the charges that she’s facing right now.

Chance: Well, you don’t get much bigger than murder.

Summer: Maybe not bigger then. Maybe, it’s just more complicated. But whatever it is, I’m just afraid that it’s gonna make this whole nightmare even worse, if that’s even possible.

Chance: Have you tried talking to her?

Summer: Yeah, but she’s on this redemption tour with me and daniel, so she doesn’t want to drag us into her problems and she keeps on apologizing and–

Chance: Oh, I’m sure that’s genuine.

Summer: Sure, might be. But it doesn’t answer the question of what’s really going on. And I’m actually starting to get worried that christine is gonna look at me as an accessory too. And I just feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. And the hard place is actually looking a lot like prison. Type 2 diabetes?

Daniel: It’s a nice idea.

Lily: I mean, yeah, I thought so.

Daniel: A little odd maybe.

Lily: Odd?

Daniel: Yeah, I… [ Sighs ] I don’t really see how drawing a bowl of fruit is gonna ease my mind all that much.

Lily: Well, I mean, you won’t know until you try. It could be a good distraction.

Daniel: This just isn’t speaking to me.

Lily: Oh, it’s not speaking to you? [ Laughing ] Okay, um, I mean, what about– what about these flowers?

Daniel: Oh, definitely not.

[ Lily laughing ]

Lily: Wow, someone’s picky. Okay, you know what? If still life is not working for you, I do have another idea. I’ll be back.

Abby: You know, I’m starting to think you want diane to bring jabot down, just to prove that you’re right.

Ashley: You know what, abby? That’s a terrible thing to say to me.

Abby: I’m sorry. That’s just the feeling that I get.

Ashley: You can’t tell me that you trust diane any more than I do. Even billy’s had enough. He’s come around to my side of things.

Abby: That’s the thing, okay? I don’t want to pick sides between you and uncle jack. There should be no sides.

Devon: Okay. Hey, I have an idea. There’s a wedding coming up soon, right?

Tucker: Yes.

Abby: Yes, yes, thank you. I love you.

Devon: I love you. How about we put a pin in all the family drama and we focus on something a little more positive?

Tucker: Yes. Let’s, uh, plan a wedding. Yes?

Ashley: Okay.

Devon: Yeah.

Tucker: Okay.

Abby: Yeah.

Chance: I can talk to christine.

Summer: I’m– I’m not asking you to do that.

Chance: You don’t have to. And I think I can convince her to leave you alone.

Summer: How?

Chance: Well, by appealing to her sense of fairness. You know, I think everyone can agree that you’ve been through more than enough since the gala. And I think I can convince christine that any actions that were taken to help your mother were taken under extreme duress. Plus, I don’t think she has a really strong case against you.

Summer: You don’t?

Chance: Mm-mm.

Summer: Even given everything I knew and when I knew them?

Chance: I mean, what witnesses would she have that could testify that you helped your mother while she was on the run?

Summer: Kyle.

Chance: Oh. And you think he’d be willing to take it that far?

Summer: Yeah, I think he’d be all too willing.

Chance: Hm. Okay, well, then I can make the argument that kyle has his own agenda. You know, he’s mad about what his mother went through, which he has every right to be. But, summer, you have been through hell too. And I would say enough is enough.

Summer: I wish that you were the D.A.

[ Both chuckling ]

Chance: Yeah, that is, uh, well above my pay grade.

Summer: Hey, thank you for talking me off the ledge just a little.

Chance: Oh, just a little? That’s all?

Summer: Well, I’m still not out of the woods yet. I mean, kyle is still so angry at me. There’s no telling how far he would go to make me pay and whatever happened to me, I would deserve it.

Chance: Stop. No, you don’T.

Summer: I do.

Chance: No, you don’t, summer. Period. Look, summer, I have been around a lot of people who have been in jeopardy, right? A lot of people who have been in the middle of a conflict just like this. And just like you, they acted impulsively. They were unable to even imagine the consequences. Summer, you were trying to protect your mother. That is human nature. So, people might not approve of it, but they should at least understand the instinct. And anyone who doesn’t, I tell you, they are just flat-out heartless.

Adam: I have to hand it to you, phyllis. When it comes to laying waste to your enemies, you are in a class by yourself.

Phyllis: Hey, don’t sell yourself short.

Adam: Well, compliment accepted. But in this case, I would advise against it.

Phyllis: Why?

Adam: You’re facing very serious criminal charges.

Phyllis: I’m innocent.

Adam: Right, which is all the more reason to act like a model citizen until the trial is over.

Phyllis: Hey, this isn’t just about vengeance on tucker mccall. It– it’s a necessity.

Adam: Why?

Phyllis: It just is.

Adam: Okay, I get it. He has something that you want. Would you care to share that?

Phyllis: Hey, can you just trust that I know what I’m doing, without any questions asked?

Adam: Normally, I would say yes. You know, we’ve given each other the benefit of the doubt over the years. But in this case, I can’T.

Phyllis: You can’t? Since when have you understood the concept of caution?

Adam: I am under victor’s microscope. Not to mention nick’s and sharon’s, okay? I need this new company to work and that means I can’t get involved in any shady enterprises with our ace chief technical officer. So, I’m afraid the answer is no, phyllis. I don’t want any part of this. Postmenopausal women with hr+ her2-

Phyllis: Well, this is completely unexpected. Um, not to mention disappointing.

Adam: Okay, I get disappointing, but unexpected? Really?

Phyllis: Yeah, since when have you marched to your family’s tune? When did that happen?

Adam: I’m looking out for my future.

Phyllis: Then you understand, so am I.

Adam: Yes, but at the moment, I am free and clear of any obstacles and I intend to keep it that way, particularly when they’re not mine.

Phyllis: Uh, since when have you walked the straight and narrow where your family is concerned? In particular, your father and nick? Do I need to remind you that you stirred the family pot, even when you were on good terms with your family?

Adam: Well, people can change.

Phyllis: Yeah, but that’s ordinary people. That’s not you. What’s going on? What is your game now?

Adam: You keep forgetting, I’m not the one with the problem. I’m not the one asking for a favor. Because so far, all you’ve asked me to do, phyllis, is trust you and that’s a big ask these days.

Phyllis: What do you want?

Adam: I want you to tell me why you need to take down tucker mccall and what he has on you. And why does it need to happen right now?

Abby: Peace?

Ashley: What is it?

Abby: Well, it is everything I’ve been putting together for your wedding. I’ve been wanting to go over it with you, but we keep getting distracted. So, can we do it now, please?

Ashley: Of course.

Abby: Thank you.

Ashley: Let’s go. Excuse me, honey.

Tucker: God.

[ Devon chuckling ] Thank you so much.

Devon: For what?

Tucker: For changing the subject. All this jack and diane business. Man, it’s got her down in the dumps. It’s got me down in the dumps. It’s really nice to have her focused on something more positive. At least, temporarily.

Devon: Oh, yeah. I’m happy I can help, but I feel like we’re gonna need a referee at this wedding to keep the abbotts from tearing each other apart.

Tucker: No, you have my word. It will be a war-free zone. Okay?

Devon: Right.

Tucker: And I’ve already said it, but thanks again for letting us have it here.

Devon: Yeah, absolutely. This is– this is always gonna be katherine’s house no matter who lives here. So, it’s our family home, and you belong here as much as anybody does.

Tucker: Oh, thank you. Um…

[ Chuckling ] I got another favor to ask you. It’s kind of a big one.

Devon: Is it?

Tucker: Yeah. Would you do me the honor of being my best man?

Summer: I really want to believe that what I did for my mom can be forgiven, or at least, understood. I mean, kyle crossed the line too. So, if I deserve to be forgiven, does that mean that he does too?

Chance: I obviously can’t answer that.

Summer: No, I know. It just pisses me off how easily he moved on. I mean, one minute, we’re fighting, and the next minute, he’s in bed with audra.

Chance: If you’re looking for advice on forgiving a spouse for sleeping with someone else, I’m not the right guy.

Summer: Oh, my god, chance. I am so sorry.

Chance: No, it’s fine.

Summer: No, I wasn’t even thinking about you and abby, I–

Chance: Summer, it’s fine. Really. Look, our marriage, it was dying. I didn’t know it then, but I know it now. We weren’t meant to go the distance. So, I sympathize with you. I know exactly how you’re feeling because I have been there.

Summer: That’s the thing. I really thought that kyle and i were meant to go the distance. We’ve overcome so many problems in the past. But maybe– maybe, that’s it. Maybe one couple can only handle so many problems before there’s just no… fixing it again.

[ Summer sighing ] I want to be where you are. Accepting, forgiving. Seriously, chance, how– how did you do it?

Chance: I don’t know, time… distance, work. Sometimes, a little too much work. My friends and family wouldn’t let me stay in that dark place. And it’s not just one thing that’s just gonna fix your life like that. Which means, there’s not one thing that can break it either.

Lily: So, since my bowl of fruit wasn’t inspiring for you… you can draw me instead.

Daniel: I don’t think I could ever do you justice.

Chance: Well, she’s in a tough spot. There’s no doubt there.

Summer: I love her and I’M… so glad that she’s home. I want her to be safe. But I really did think that when she got back here, that kyle and i would have a chance to heal. That’s just not how it turned out. I– I don’t know how to accept it and move on. I don’T.

Chance: I’ll tell you how. You just take it one day at a time. Sometimes, one hour at a time, all right? But you’re gonna get there. I know it.

Summer: It’s hard. I feel like I’ve got a million things in my head and I can’t even focus on any of them.

Chance: Well, summer, maybe it’s time you let your mom deal with her life and you focus on yours.

Phyllis: You, of all people, should understand why I am reluctant to give you any personal information about myself. You know, something that you could possibly hold over my head.

Adam: Well, knowledge is power.

Phyllis: That you use as a sledgehammer, so…

Adam: Okay. Okay, well, feel free to find somebody else to help you dismantle tucker mccall. I mean, again, I don’t even know why you’re asking for help, phyllis. God knows, you have the resources to get this done on your own.

Phyllis: Yeah, but you so generously pointed out that I need to keep my nose clean for my kids, for my family, for your business partners.

Adam: Oh, I get it, okay. So, when you say you need help, what you’re really saying is you need someone else to do the dirty work, and take the risk.

Phyllis: No.

Adam: Which makes it a lot less appealing.

Phyllis: Of course, of course, of course. But you don’t even need to get your hands dirty. I mean, I just need some information on tucker. That’s all I need, you know? Like there’s got to be some dirt on him when he was running mccall and you own that company now.

Adam: Yeah, that’s true. I do own the company.

Phyllis: All right, so, didn’t you do a deep dive?

Adam: Of course, I did a deep dive. I mean, there’s not much there though. You know, poor management is not gonna help your cause.

Phyllis: How deep did you go?

Adam: How damaging do you need it to be?

Phyllis: This is the thing. I’m not trying to destroy him. I just need the means to do it.

Adam: You want the sword hanging over his head?

Phyllis: Yes.

Adam: Well, then, that can only mean one thing. That what he has over you, it’s life or death.

Abby: Obviously, the catering is taken care of. Society is going to do all of that, but we do need to know how many people you’re inviting. Do you have a head count yet?

Ashley: Um, no, not exactly. But, we want it to be small.

Abby: Small? Okay, so are you thinking like, 5 people, 50 people?

Ashley: We haven’t really talked about that quite yet.

Abby: Okay, um, do you have a date yet?

Ashley: Date? Oh.

Abby: A date. For your wedding.

Ashley: Oh, no. Not– not yet, no.

Abby: Okay, well, that’s– that’s a really good place to start.

Ashley: Yeah, well, you know, we’re gonna figure it out for sure. What?

[ Abby sighing ]

Abby: Do you even care about this wedding?

Ashley: What kind of a question is that? Of course, I do.

Abby: Because I’m starting to get the feeling that you marrying tucker is the exact same thing you’re accusing uncle jack of. A way to get back at your enemies.

Tucker: Listen, I know it’s a big ask and if you decide to turn me down, I totally understand. It’s just that when I was thinking about the wedding and– and who I would like to have up there with me… there was only one answer. But you know, think about it.

Devon: Well, hey, I don’t need any time to think about it. I– I have my answer for you. With new scope squeez mouthwash concentrate,

Lily: Wow, that’s nice.

Daniel: Mm-hmm. Thank you.

Lily: I mean, you have potential.

Daniel: It’s kind of hard to miss when you have such a perfect subject.

[ Lily chuckling ]

Lily: Okay, it’s your turn. So, do you wanna take your own clothes off? Or do you want me to take them off?

Daniel: Hm, I think you can take them off.

Lily: I think that’s a good choice. [ Laughing ] Oh, wait, wait, wait, hold on, hold on, hold on. I have to draw you. I have to draw you, remember? Hold on, hold on. Okay. Okay. This is gonna be good. All right. Hold on. Oh, gosh. Oh. Yep. Mm-hm. Mm-hm. This is definitely, harder than it looks.

[ Daniel chuckles ] Okay, smiling, yes. Muscles, okay. [ Chuckles ] What do you think?

Daniel: I think that is worthy of a prize.

[ Lily chuckling ]

Phyllis: You know what? I’m gonna make you a deal.

Adam: Mm-hmm. This is gonna be really interesting.

Phyllis: I’m gonna work for you for free. For six months. Then, after that, my rate kicks in.

Adam: That’s very generous of you.

Phyllis: Yeah, yeah. It is, it is. Considering my rate, it is.

Adam: I thought you were very desperate for the money?

Phyllis: I’m very desperate to stay out of prison.

Adam: You know, I think I figured this out.

Phyllis: What did you figure out, adam?

Adam: You and tucker, and what he has on you. You know, I always thought this, um, emt guy, it was a little too coincidental that he just comes out of a very safe nowhere to save your ass. So, what’s the story, phyllis? Was he lying? Was he paid off? Or did tucker pay him off and that’s the hold he has over you?

Phyllis: What if it was?

[ Adam sighing ]

Adam: Well, if it’s true… it changes… everything.

Abby: Am I right, mom? Is this wedding just another way to get under uncle jack’s skin?

Ashley: No, you’re not right. And please don’t compare us to that sham of a marriage.

Abby: Really? Because uncle jack and diane, they seem in love. They do, and I highly doubt that they are spending their evening thinking about ways to bring you down.

Ashley: Don’t bet on that.

Abby: I offered to have this wedding here, I did, and I wanted to. But if this is just another way for you to get back at uncle jack, I want no part of it. You can take it somewhere else.

Devon: Tucker, I would be honored to be your best man.

Tucker: Ah. Thank you, devon. That just means the world to me. Thank you.

Devon: Yeah, I– listen, I believe you when you say that you’ve changed and I believe that the love that you and ashley have is the real deal. So, let’s do this.

Tucker: Fantastic. Well, you have no idea how nervous I was to ask you.

Devon: Oh, yeah?

Tucker: Yeah.

Devon: Tucker mccall gets nervous?

Tucker: Yes, he does.

Devon: Does he?

Tucker: Yeah, ’cause you know, there have been times in the past few months I felt like I had just hit a wall in trying to earn your trust back and your respect. I know I’m not 100% there. That’s fine. But having you as my best man, it just feels like a big step forward for us. All right.

Abby: You know, I think my instincts were wrong about tucker. He’s not pushing this feud between my mom and uncle. She is. And if she pushes too far, there’ll be no coming back.

Summer: I know that at some point, I am gonna have to set some stronger boundaries with my mom. I mean, at least, if I want to live a sane, somewhat normal life. But it’s not gonna be easy.

Chance: Well, of course. It’s your mother and you love her.

Summer: At what cost though, right? I think that I’m finally, realizing that she’s not gonna change, ever. So, I– I’ve got to be the one that finds a better way.

Chance: You’re gonna figure it out. I got no doubt in my mind. And if you ever want to talk, I will be here to listen.

Summer: Thank you. I really needed to get all of that stuff out.

Chance: Yeah, and look at that, you didn’t once admit to anything sounding like a future crime.

[ Both chuckling ]

Summer: So, this really was all friend-to-friend, right? Not friend to cop?

Chance: Friend to friend.

Daniel: Wait.

Lily: What?

Daniel: Don’t move. I want to draw you just like this.

[ Lily chuckling ] Thank you.

Lily: You’re welcome.

Adam: So, tucker mccall… literally, has your freedom in his hands.

[ Phyllis sighing ]

Phyllis: Yes. And if I go to prison, you know, that’s really bad for you, because then, I can’t work for you. And you know there’s no one better.

[ Adam laughing ]

Adam: You know, phyllis, I have always admired your ability to, um, keep playing poker even though you’ve just revealed you have a pretty lousy hand.

Phyllis: Are you gonna help me?

Adam: I have to think about it.

Nicole was upset when a nurse told her another nurse gave her test results to someone she thought was Nicole. The nurse said she would give her another copy. Sloan panicked over what she could do about Nicole’s test results. She felt she had no choice but to change the test results. She went to the lobby and heard Nicole ask the nurse for her test results. Sloan said she got the test results by mistake when she was looking for her own results. She said she opened it without looking at it. She gave Nicole the envelope. Nicole was happy when she found out her child didn’t have genetic issues. Eric told Roman and Kate about the baby. Roman wasn’t happy about it because he doesn’t like Sloan. He said he blamed her for what happened to Abe. He said he couldn’t get past it. He said he was happy he was going to be a grandfather again. Eric was upset about Roman’s reaction, but Kate tried to make things better between them. Sloan showed up. Roman invited her to join them in a toast. Sloan told Eric that she didn’t go see Colin. She said she went to the hospital to get the genetic test results for the baby. She said the results weren’t ready yet. She said she got Nicole’s results and her baby was fine.

Leo stopped the wedding. He told Gwen that he couldn’t let her marry Dimitri. Gabi was upset. Gwen wanted Leo to talk to her about what he is feeling. He gave his blessing after Dimitri said he wouldn’t hurt Gwen. He reminded Leo about the inheritance. The ceremonies continued. Both couples got married. Kristen comforted Leo. Gwen went to confront Leo, but Dimitri tried to fix things between them. Kristen and EJ talked about their family unity. Rafe and Jada congratulated Gabi. Gabi said she was happy to be married to Stefan. Rafe congratulated EJ on the baby. Rafe and Jada decided to leave the wedding to spend some time alone. Stefan thanked EJ for being his best man. Gabi asked if there could be a fresh start between them. Dimitri confronted Leo about interrupting the wedding. Leo said he felt guilty. Dimitri said he would take care of Gwen. He said they were going to be rich. Gwen showed up when they were about to kiss. They told her they were planning a surprise. They told her Dimitri was taking her to Iceland for their honeymoon. Nicole told EJ about the situation with the test results. She said the baby was fine. While Kristen was talking to Dimitri, she got a call to come to court for Rachel’s custody.

John and Marlena reunited with each other. They talked about Abe. Marlena told John that Abe may never get his memory back. Steve and Kayla reunited and talked about Abe too. Steve was upset with Whitley until Kayla calmed him down and told him about her break with reality. Theo and Paulina got the place ready for Abe to come home. He told her that he was told that he had to go back to South Africa, but he didn’t want to do it. Paulina told him that he should go. She would call him if there were any changes. He finally agreed and they went to the hospital. John and Steve went to see Abe at the hospital. They told him who they were and about their friendships with him. Marlena and Kayla talked about Abe’s condition and how they feel like Paulina’s pushing him too hard. Paulina arrived to get Abe. They talked to her about their concerns. Paulina assured them that she would be patient with Abe. Theo arrived and told Abe that he had to go back to work. Abe understood and hugged him before he left.

Kristen apologized to the judge for being late. She let the judge know she was at a double wedding. The judge understood and thanked her for coming in on short notice. The judge told Kristen, Brady and Belle that she had concerns about the custody arrangement. She said that her concerns were with Brady and not Kristen. Brady lashed out at the judge. He apologized for his behavior, but it didn’t seem to matter to the judge. The judge made her decision. She granted Kristen full custody of Rachel. Brady was devastated by the judge’s decision. Brady attempted to reason with Kristen about the arrangement. She wanted to follow the judge’s orders and wanted him to do the same. She said that he could see Rachel, but his visits must be supervised. Later, Brady went home and looked at a picture of Rachel. He told John and Marlena what happened in court. Kirsten went back to the judge’s chambers to check the final order and saw Belle. Belle let her know that Brady wasn’t the only one who lost that day. She told her that Rachel lost too.

Alexis tells Gregory that Tracy called her to ask her if he was sick. Alexis tells Gregory she told Tracy he wasn’t sick. Alexis thinks Gregory should tell his family about his ALS soon before they find out on their own. Gregory promises that he will tell Chase and Finn about his illness soon but for now he wants to enjoy his life while he is physically able.

Molly and TJ decide to have a baby using a surrogate service because Kristina is busy with the Youth Center. Molly also thinks Kristina understands everything that is involved with being a surrogate.

Anna decides that someone in the WSB is trying to kill her so her plan to make herself bait to draw out the shooter won’t work. Anna tells Dante that if she needs him she will call him.

Drew continues to try and save Cyrus by performing CPR on him. Cyrus has a near death experience where he talks to Laura and she persuades him he still has time to become a good person not just pretend to be one. Drew is able to revive Cyrus and he is rushed to the hospital. Drew is taken to solitary confinement since he got into a fight because he was defending Cyrus from the inmates who were bullying him.

Ashley wants Billy to push Diane’s buttons until her greed and ambition negatively impacts Jabot. Ashley and Tucker come in and make Jabot part of simply Ashley. Billy tells Ashley that he will think about being part of their plan. Billy then goes to tell Jack and Diane Ashley and Tucker’s plan. Diane thinks they can use Ashley’s plan to their advantage.

Finn: You saved her. Mom, you saved kelly’s life. Thank you. Mom, thank you so much.

Steffy: Finn’s not getting back to me. Straight to voicemail again. Yeah, the service can be a little spotty down at the beach.

Liam: Yeah.

Steffy: I know you wanted to spend the day with kelly, and she was excited to have her daddy daughter date, too.

Liam: Well, yeah, I mean, I figured I– I could maybe steal her away for a little bit. Just with everything going on, I feel like that’s more important than ever, you know. Maybe we go to venice, maybe we’d ride some bikes, check out the street art, visit that, uh, the ice cream shop. You know, the one on abbot kinney.

Steffy: Yeah, yeah. You know our girl.

Liam: Yeah.

Steffy: I– I am sorry that this is taking longer than I expected. Finn knows that you guys have plans.

Liam: I mean, it’s fine. It’s just– well, normally it would be fine, but–

[ Liam sighing ] Listen, I’ve always trusted finn to watch kelly. Like, you know that. Like, I’ve never had a problem with him taking her, but– but now, I don’t know, it feels a little different. Like, having seen him get all cozy with sheila, I just– now, I don’t feel like I can trust his judgment and if I can’t trust his judgment, how can I trust him to protect kelly from sheila? It’s like a whole thing.

Deacon: Okay. [ Sighing ]

Sheila: I’m going to see my son because somehow, some way, I’m going to convince him that– that I can be a positive force in his life. And his family’S.

Deacon: It’s going to take a miracle to make that happen.

[ Deacon sighing ]

Steffy: I still can’t believe sheila has been released.

Liam: I know. Tell me about it. Honestly, I’m still– I’m still just processing that. Like, I really thought that uld be put away for life, and now it’s like, oh, yeah, everything that my dad worked so hard for months to accomplish just backfired.

Steffy: Yeah, I’m surprised the court didn’t warn us that this was even an option.

Liam: I know.

Steffy: Sheila shot me. She shot her own son. It’s crazy that they’re just letting her loose.

Liam: Yeah, and now we’re right back to, you know, security guards at the house, security guards at work, cameras everywhere.

Steffy: I can’t– I really– I really can’t do it. I– I can’t talk about sheila anymore. We all know how dangerous she is. I just can’t think of her just taking over my entire life.

Liam: No, I– I understand, and– and– and I agree. We can’t do that, right? We can’t let, like, our whole existence become about sheila. It’s just– I just wish– I just wish I knew that– that–

Steffy: Kelly is safe. I know. I know.

Liam: Yeah, because– ’cause sheila’s not rational. Right? She’s not logical. She’s like, we have to treat her like a wild animal. And– and she’s proven over and over again how dangerous she is. And now what, she just– she just walks the streets, like, as she pleases?

Steffy: Liam, I promise you, nothing is going to happen to kelly, okay? I love my children and I will do whatever it takes to keep them safe.

Liam: I know you will. You’re an incredible mother. I trust you implicitly. That is not the issue. My issue right now is this– this thing going on with finn, whatever it is.

Steffy: Finn is a loving, attentive father. He loves kelly as if she were his own.

Liam: I–

Steffy: He wants to protect her as much as I do.

Liam: I know, I’m saying that is what I did believe. And now, after seeing him embrace sheila, I mean, he’s clear– he clearly has some feelings about his mom that he’s not dealing with and I worry that it could impact his judgment right now. I don’t know what’s going on with him. Maybe it’s just biological. Maybe there’s something inside of him that he can’t– it doesn’t ma– whatever the explanation is, I, as kelly’s dad, can’t in good conscience put my trust in him. Right? What’s my number one job? It’s to take care of kelly and her mother. I love kelly. I also love you. That’s not going to change, steffy.

Sheila: You don’t need to thank me. I’m just glad that I was here. But kelly is A… just precious little girl.

Finn: Yeah, she is. And I am… I am incredibly grateful, more than you will ever know. But you need to keep your distance. And I can’t see you.

Sheila: I’m just glad you’re okay. But next time you’re next to the water, you be very careful, sweetheart.

Kelly: Thank you again. Four delicious pieces of chocolate.

[ Phone buzzing ]

Steffy: You need to take that?

Liam: It’s the office. Honestly, I’m not going– I’m not going to worry about it. If it’s that important, wyatt’ll take care of it.

Steffy: Hey.

Liam: Yeah?

Steffy: Kelly’s fine. I know you’re concerned about finn being vulnerable to sheila, but you–

Liam: Well, there– well, there isn’t really a but here. I mean, sheila is a murderous psychopath. She’s a murderous psychopath who happens to be obsessed with my daughter’s stepfather. And you– you know firsthand what she’s capable of.

Steffy: Yeah, I– I do. And I don’t– I don’t want to think about it. She almost took finn away from me and my family. She cost– she cost me years apart from my mother. I’m done thinking about it.

Liam: Okay, well, then you– but then you understand why I’m so concerned.

Steffy: Okay, but we are talking about my husband. And yes, I– I did see finn embracing sheila in that video, but I do have to believe in him. I have to believe that there is some kind of explanation, because he has only been loyal and loving to me. I hate the thought of it. I hate– I hated watching that, but that doesn’t mean he’s not going to protect us.

Liam: You know what I keep thinking about lately? Is the day kelly was born… I mean, oh… there was so much leading up to it, you know? So much preparation and classes and– and planning and thinking and dreaming. And then– and then, it’s like the minute she arrived, nothing prepared us for that. I mean, it’s like the minute I actually held her in my arms, I knew that my life would never be the same again. I just– I don’t think I blinked for the rest of the day, I just stared, just kept staring in awe, knowing that nothing else mattered. Knowing that I just had to do everything I could to make sure she was happy and… safe. And not just her. Her and her mother. That’s part of it. You’re part of it. My job is to protect you, too. That doesn’t change. I know what I saw, steffy. And my gut– I’m sorry. My gut is telling me that for whatever reason, finn is– is vulnerable to sheila. And I can’t let you and kelly be the price for that.

[ Phone buzzing ]

[ Liam sighs ] What?

Steffy: It’s– it’s fine. Why don’t you just take care of whatever you have to? You’ve been waiting long enough. And I’ll text you once finn and kelly get back here, okay?

Liam: Well, can you text me just when you hear back from finn at all? Just so I– just so I know– I know that everything’s okay?

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, of course.

Liam: Okay.

Steffy: Liam, I can’t explain why finn embraced sheila, but I trust my husband and I know he will not put the children or me at risk. He knows what sheila is capable of, okay? But I really appreciate it. That you’re so concerned about us.

Liam: Always.

[ Knocking on door ]

Deacon: Working.

[ Knocking on door ]

Sheila: Come on. Deacon, open up. It’s– it’s me.

[ Deacon sighs ]

Deacon: Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Don’t be stupid. You’re gonna do it. You’re gonna do it. Great.

Sheila: Now, you lock the door?

Deacon: What– what happened to you? I thought you went to see finn.

Sheila: I did. And you won’t believe what happened. I saved kelly’s life.

Steffy: Finn, where are you?

[ Steffy sighing ] Finally. You two were gone a long time. Hi, sweetheart. Did you have fun at the beach?

Kelly: Something happened, mommy. Something really scary.

Steffy: Oh, really? What happened?

Kelly: I almost drowned.

Liam: If finn really is

vulnerable to his birth mother,

then you need to know that.

Steffy: No.

No, no, no, no,

this does not make–

it does not make any sense.

I can’t explain this video, but

there is no way finn would put

me or our family in jeopardy.

Wyatt: Hey.

Liam: Hi.

Wyatt: What are you doing here? I thought you were taking the rest of the afternoon off to be with kelly.

Liam: Uh, yeah, I was. I am. I am. Hopefully.

Wyatt: I was, I am, hopefully?

Liam: Finn took kelly to the beach and they’re still not back yet.

Wyatt: Ah. Am I sensing a bit of jealousy?

Liam: No, it’s not jealousy. You know that I have good reasons for being concerned about finn right now.

Wyatt: Oh, no, that’s totally true. I feel the same way about seeing that video of finn hugging that she-devil. So, how’d it go?

Liam: What?

Wyatt: You telling steffy about finn hugging his mom.

Liam: Ah.

Wyatt: You did tell her, right?

Liam: Um, yeah, I told her.

Wyatt: Okay, good, ’cause there’s no way that she could accept finn letting sheila anywhere near her or the kids after hearing that, right?

Deacon: So you– you ran in and you pulled kelly from the surf? How the hell did this even happen?

Sheila: That’s– I went– I went to the hospital, and I– I saw finn and kelly leaving and I followed them. They didn’t even know that I was– I was watching. And they went– they went to the beach. And they went surfing. And– and after surfing, they were playing in the sand. And finn must have got a really important phone call because he stepped away a little bit. And I kept an eye on– on kelly because she went down to the water’s edge with her bucket. Before you knew it, she got swept away. She got swept under. And I– I went– I went in after her.

Deacon: God, she– she’s okay, right?

Sheila: Yeah, she’s fine.

Deacon: I mean, sheila, if you hadn’t been there… you saved steffy’s daughter’s life.

Steffy: Oh, my god. Sweetheart, are you okay?

Finn: Kelly’s okay. I– I checked her out. She’s okay.

Kelly: I’m all right, mommy. The ocean took my bucket. I tried to get it, but got sucked in.

Steffy: Oh, my goodness. Oh, I’m so sorry. That must have been so scary. Thank god finn was with you.

Kelly: Finn’s mom saved me.

Steffy: Li was there?

Kelly: Not, li. Sheila. Postmenopausal women with hr+ her2-

Deacon: Wow, I’m– I’m stunned. I mean, I– thank god you didn’t listen to me about stalking finn because if you had, things could have ended very differently for that little girl.

Sheila: Oh, I can’t even think about that. That’s just too horrible. Wha– what’s really important is– is kelly is safe.

Deacon: I mean, I– look, I’ll admit it. I thought you were crazy– misguided for thinking that you could somehow convince finn that you deserve to be in his life, but sheila, sheila, you– you may have just pulled off the impossible today.

Wyatt: Seriously, bro. I mean, did steffy totally lose it after hearing about finn hugging his psycho bio mom?

Liam: Well, look, okay, so, you know, predictably, she wasn’t thrilled to find out that– that finn was hugging sheila outside the judge’s chambers, but she still– she didn’t react the way I did, for example.

Wyatt: What? What do you mean? Why not?

Liam: Well, you know, finn’s her husband. She wants to believe him. She wants to– she wants to think that he would never let any harm come to her or the kids. Now, obviously, I don’t share that bias, so yours truly doesn’t trust the guy now.

Steffy: Sheila? Sheila saved you?

Finn: Hey, look, I can explain.

Kelly: Can I go take a shower?

Steffy: Yes, of course you can. Oh, I’m so sorry that you had to go through that.

Kelly: It’s all right, mommy. I’m okay. I love you, too.

Steffy: I love you. What the hell happened?

Finn: Uh, kelly was fine. We were surfing, we built a sandcastle and, um… I had an important work call about a patient and I… put my earbuds in and I couldn’t hear very well. I had bad reception and I was trying to shield myself from the wind and I turned my back on her for just, like, a moment.

Steffy: You never turn your back on a child at the beach!

Finn: Look, it just– it happened so fast that– and then, I suddenly just– I heard…

Kelly: Help, finn! Help!

Finn: …I heard her crying for help and I rushed in immediately, and I– and I got her, okay? And then, that’s just– that’s– that’s when I saw her.

Steffy: Sheila.

Finn: Yeah. I mean, I was stunned, just as you are, but in that moment, it didn’t matter, okay? Kelly was safe. Yes, she got to her first, but I took her from sheila and I– I got her to the shore to make sure she was okay.

Steffy: Okay? Okay? My god, I could have lost my daughter. She could have drowned. What the hell were you thinking? You never turn your back on a child at the beach.

Finn: I know, okay? I’m sorry. I– I’m sorry.

Steffy: What the hell was sheila even doing there?

Finn: I don’t know. Okay? Honestly, I don’t know. She was just– she was there, but thank god she was… because if– because if she wasn’t, may– I mean, she saved her life. My mother saved kelly’s life.

Marlena is at home on the phone with Sami, questioning all she has to say about Eric having a baby with Sloan is that at least it’s not Nicole. Marlena knows that Sami doesn’t know Sloan but says she feels like she is bad news. Marlena doesn’t want Eric to end up in the same situation that Brady is in with Kristen. Marlena encourages Sami to call him and says she has to go as John comes home. John greets her with a kiss and says he missed her. John talks about their trip to LA working miracles since they got Abe back now.

Steve joins Kayla at the hospital and they talk about being happy to see each other. Steve can’t believe he’s going to see Abe again. Kayla talks about her sense of relief when she saw Abe wheeled off the elevator. Steve asks how Abe is doing. Kayla responds that he’s being released from the hospital today, so he finally gets to go home.

Paulina decorates her home with Theo to welcome Abe home. Paulina wants everything to be perfect for Abe and says she can’t remember being so happy now that Abe is alive and finally coming home.

Abe remains in his hospital bed, looking at he and Paulina’s wedding photo. Chanel arrives and is excited to see him as she brings him his favorite bear claws from the bakery. Abe responds that he remembers Chanel, which excites her.

Brady and Belle sit at the courthouse and talk about what Abe went through. Brady wonders where Kristen is. Belle assures that she’ll be there. Brady hopes Kristen misses the meeting so they can keep everything as it is. Belle tells Brady to just accept that Kristen negotiated this rotten deal. Kristen then arrives. Brady points out that she’s late. Kristen explains that she was at a wedding when she got the call and questions if there’s a problem since she and Brady both signed the request for shared custody. The judge then arrives and thanks them for appearing on such short notice. Kristen responds that she’d do anything for their daughter. The judge is glad to hear because Rachel’s best interest is her priority. The judge says she looked over the request. Kristen insists that she and Brady want shared custody now and signed the papers but the judge responds that she can’t approve them.

Paulina sets snacks up and talks about wanting to have everything Abe likes in case it triggers any memories. Theo brings up Abe not knowing who he and Lani were. Paulina doesn’t care how long it takes as she is not giving up.

Chanel hugs Abe and says Paulina will be so happy that he recognizes her. Abe remembers Chanel visiting him after his surgery and how she showed him pictures on her phone. Chanel recalls being Abe being really confused and Whitley taking advantage of him, but says that’s all over now and doesn’t matter because he recognizes her. Abe clarifies that he recognizes her only because she visited him after his surgery, but not before. Abe states that’s where all his memories start. Abe adds that Chanel seems like a very nice young woman but he’s very sorry.

Kristen doesn’t see what the problem is and argues that Brady has already agreed to shared custody. The judge then reveals that her concern is with Brady. Belle argues that Brady is a devoted father. The judge explains that it’s Brady’s actions that give her pause after he was recently arrested for aggravated assault against Kristen. Belle calls that a misunderstanding. The judge then asks if Brady pointed a gun at Kristen in the presence of their child.

Paulina says everything is ready for Abe to come home, expect for herself. Theo assures that she’s perfect as she is and points out everything Paulina did for Abe. Theo says that Abe loved Paulina for her heart. Paulina thanks Theo for always being a comfort to them. Paulina encourages that Abe will remember how proud he is of Theo as she hugs him.

Chanel hopes Abe doesn’t feel too pressured by everyone wanting him to remember. Chanel recalls being told that he drowned and what that did to everyone who loves him. Chanel encourages that Paulina is making sure that everything is ready for Abe to come home to her. Abe doesn’t want anyone to go through this trouble over him. Chanel encourages that Paulina is crazy in love with him. Abe responds that he’s been told by a lot of people that he loves her just as much and what he would give to feel that love now.

Kayla tells Steve about Abe not remembering anything at all from before his surgery. Steve talks about Abe not recognizing any of them. Kayla explains that Marlena thinks it’s an emotional block and she tried hypnosis but it didn’t work. Kayla knows Abe is frustrated as he wants to remember.

Marlena tells John about how the hypnosis didn’t work with Abe. John suggests just giving it more time but at least Abe will be surrounded by people who love him. Marlena says everyone will have to be patient and accept reality that it may not be a matter of time as Abe may never get his memory back.

Brady tells the judge that the police report is correct but there are extenuating circumstances. The judge can’t think of any circumstance that would make that okay to do in front of their child. Brady explains that he didn’t know Rachel was in the room or where she was at all because he got a call that she disappeared from camp and he knew that Kristen was behind that, so he was desperate to make her tell him the truth. The judge questions doing that with a gun. Brady responds that he’s learned through experience that you can’t reason with Kristen. Belle points out that Kristen is not pressing charges. The judges argues that this isn’t the first time Brady has committed a crime involving his daughter as he had her kidnapped last year. Belle argues that no charges were ever brought against him then. Brady explains how Marlena and two other women came down with a mysterious virus while Kristen was the only one who knew where the orchid was that could save their lives. The judge questions believing that. Brady insists it’s the truth and that the only way was to scare Kristen in to saving Marlena’s life while the judge complains that he used his daughter to do it.

John tells Marlena that he heard Colin Bedford is in court today. John mentions bringing Whitley’s accomplice Jerry back from LA, so he is at the police department now. John says at least Jerry confessed to everything. Marlena asks about him being an actor. John explains that is why Whitley used him, because she wanted to pass him off as Theo.

Theo finishes a call with JJ as Paulina finishes straightening up. Paulina asks what time Theo’s flight is leaving. Theo then reveals that he just cancelled his flight so he can be there to help her with Abe but Paulina refuses. Paulina says she loves having him but he needs to go back to South Africa to finish the deal for his company. Theo complains that it doesn’t feel right going back on the same day that Abe is getting out of the hospital. Paulina promises that as soon as Abe starts to remember, she will call him and he will make it clear that he wants Theo to live his life fully, even if it’s a thousand miles away because they are always in each others’ hearts.

Steve and Kayla talk about Jerry posing as Theo. Steve hopes Melinda throws the book at Jerry. Kayla says at least Jerry told them that Abe was alive and where he was, so that the police could get to Whitley’s apartment in time. Steve asks about Whitley. Kayla explains that she had a traumatic event last year when her husband died suddenly from carbon monoxide poison and she hasn’t been able to handle it. Steve questions if Whitley kidnapped a new husband. Kayla mentions that Marlena thinks Whitley had a break with reality. Steve questions Whitley being able to function as a nurse. Steve wonders if Whitley really did or if she just decided Bayview would be easier than hard time in prison. Kayla notes that Marlena insists that Whitley’s not faking it. Steve doesn’t care how traumatized or crazy Whitley was, since she kidnapped Abe and made his friends and family believe that he was dead and replaced his world with a world full of lies. Steve declares that worst of all, Whitley may have cost Abe the chance to ever remember who he is.

Chanel encourages Abe that he’s going to remember as she believes when he sees Paulina, he will remember how much he loves her. Abe hopes that she’s right. Chanel assures that there is no quit in Paulina, so she will move Heaven and Earth to make him remember or she’ll make him fall in love with her all over again. Chanel then exits the room. Abe continues looking at he and Paulina’s wedding photo. John and Steve then arrive. They tell Abe that it’s so good to see him. Steve brings up Abe going home today. John guesses Abe doesn’t know who the hell they are, so they introduce themselves. John explains that the three of them have been good friends for a very long time. Steve repeats that they are so happy to see him as they hug Abe. John adds that they would’ve been there last night but they just got back from LA where they tracked down Jerry Prentiss for pretending to be Theo. John explains that Jerry is the one who told everyone that he saw Abe fall in to the water and that planted the evidence at the docks so that Whitley could convince everyone that Abe was dead. Abe realizes that Marlena found him because of them. Steve says they knew something was bogus. John assures that Abe has a lot more life to live. Steve says they are blessed to have been a part of that life and will be for years to come. John jokes that they are going to annoy and frustrate him by doing their damndest to remind Abe until he remembers just how much he means to them.

Kayla talks to Marlena at the hospital about hoping John and Steve trying to get Abe to remember. Marlena asks if she’s sure Abe is okay to go home today. Kayla responds that there is no reason to keep him as outside of his memory loss, his head wound is healed, the drugs that Whitley gave him are out of his system, and he’s physically okay. Kayla asks if Marlena is concerned about Abe’s mental health. Marlena says they all want Abe to remember them, but he doesn’t, so she’s sure that must be causing some pressure. Marlena is afraid that if Abe feels pressure, he won’t know where to turn for support.

Abe bets that John and Steve could tell him a lot about his life. They assure that they can and will when he’s ready to hear it. John says Abe is safe here and surrounded by people who love and respect him. John brings up that Abe once told him that rest is a weapon, so they are going to let him rest. Steve reminds Abe that their numbers are in his phone, so he can call if he needs anything at all. John says they will catch up when he gets settled in at home, assuring that he’s in good hands with Paulina.

Theo tells Paulina that he wants to spend time with Abe. Paulina encourages that he will, but for now he needs to go back to South Africa to handle business. Paulina promises to call Theo the minute that Abe starts to remember and then he can come back. Theo asks if she’s sure about this. Paulina assures that she doesn’t do self doubt. Paulina suggests that they go to the hospital so Theo can say goodbye and she can finally bring her man home.

Brady tells the judge that Rachel was never in any jeopardy as she was actually with her uncle Eric. The judge complains that Brady has a pattern of using his daughter against Kristen. Brady argues that is actually Kristen’s pattern and asks if she has looked in to her background. The judge assures that she has and that her criminal background was unsettling, but since getting her pardon, her record is clean. Brady complains that Kristen took Rachel from camp and hid her in the attic of the DiMera Mansion. Kristen claims that she had no idea she was there. The judge argues that it seems reasonable that Rachel was hiding from Brady. Brady calls that ridiculous and insane. The judge talks about interviewing Rachel and her love for her mother is unwavering which has convinced her that her ruling is in Rachel’s best interest. The judge then announces that she is awarding full custody of Rachel to Kristen, exciting Kristen. Brady argues that this can’t be happening and complains that Kristen is going to turn Rachel against him. Brady insists that Kristen hasn’t changed a bit and will make Rachel’s life miserable. The judge brings up Brady bring implicated in the apparent homicide of Philip Kiriakis. The judge adds that children Rachel’s age are usually awarded to their mothers and that the rulings against Kristen need to be corrected. Belle asks if Rachel said she only wanted to live with Kristen and that she wanted nothing to do with Brady. The judge says that her behavior speaks for itself, bringing up how she has tried to get to her mother including taking a rideshare to prison in an attempt to evade Brady’s control. The judge declares that her ruling stands and will take effect immediately. She asks Brady to please deliver Rachel to Kristen by tomorrow and then exits. Brady reminds Kristen that they came for shared custody. Kristen says that’s only because she wouldn’t press charges against him for threatening her with a gun. Brady argues that she knows Rachel loves him and needs him. Kristen knows what it feels like to be kept from their daughter. Brady asks her to tell the judge. Kristen says she also knows what it felt like to watch Brady try to replace her in Rachel’s life with Chloe. Brady argues that he didn’t do that. Kristen says they don’t agree on much but they do agree on what’s best for Rachel. Kristen adds that she listened to the judge lay the case against Brady and she had to agree with her so she will abide by her ruling and hopes Brady will too. Kristen tells Brady not to worry as he will see his daughter but his visits will have to be supervised. Kristen then exits the courthouse, leaving Brady in disbelief.

Abe remains in his hospital bed and thinks back to Paulina, Theo, and Kayla visiting him but not remembering who they are. Theo arrives to visit him. Abe apologizes for not remembering him or anyone else. Theo encourages that he will but reveals that he came to say goodbye. Theo wishes he could stay longer but he owns a small company and they are in the middle of big negotiations, so his partner says he has to be there. Theo assures that he’s only a phone call away so he will fly back. Abe thanks him. Theo asks if he would mind if he hugged him which Abe allows. Theo calls Abe the best father he could ever have. Abe admits to Theo that he’s scared as he’s been told that he has a full life with a loving wife, children, grandchildren, and good friends but he’s afraid that he might never remember that life.

Kayla asks if Marlena thinks she should keep Abe in the hospital longer. Marlena admits that wouldn’t change anything. Kayla suggests they could protect Abe from the pressures of the people that love him. Marlena thinks he’ll have a better chance of getting his memory back at home but they’ll have to manage expectations and not put too much pressure on Abe. Kayla isn’t sure Paulina can do that. Marlena thinks Paulina’s love will be good for Abe, but patience is not Paulina’s strong suit. Paulina then arrives at the hospital and announces that she’s here to take her husband home. Kayla asks Marlena to handle it. Paulina tells Marlena that she’s so excited to take Abe home, then stops and asks why she looks sad. Marlena reminds Abe that they don’t have any guarantees that Abe will get his memory back. Paulina insists that she can make Abe remember as she is determined. Marlena doesn’t want to discourage her from her task, but reminds her that patience is a way to get what you want. Paulina promises to be patient and determined and that she will have her Abe back.

Theo calls this the first time that Abe has ever said he was scared. Theo relates to feeling scared a lot growing up but Abe helped him so much and told him there’s nothing wrong with being afraid but not to let it stop you from living. Abe jokes about being capable of a bit of wisdom. Abe says if it helped him, then he’s proud of both of them. Theo says he has to go but he will call him all the time which Abe says he will look forward to. Theo then exits the room. Paulina enters and thinks back to Marlena’s words about patience. Paulina then asks Abe how he feels about blowing this joint. Abe responds that he would like that very much.

Theo and Chanel walk through the town square. Chanel offers to drive him to the airport but Theo says he already got a car service and reminds her that she has a Bakery to run. They talk about visiting Abe this morning. Theo mentions that he told Abe to call him any time, but he doesn’t think he will, so he asks Chanel to let him know if Abe needs him. Chanel tells him not to worry too much because Paulina will take real good care of him.

Kayla talks to Steve about how Marlena says the best way to help Abe is to not pressure him to remember. Kayla asks Steve about seeing Abe. Steve admits that it was hard but he got a few glimpses of the old Abe. Steve declares that Abe is alive, so their prayers have been answered.

Paulina brings Abe home and asks if anything looks familiar to him.

Brady sits at home with a photo of Rachel. John and Marlena come home and ask what’s wrong. Brady reveals that the judge awarded full custody of Rachel to Kristen which shocks them.

Belle remains at the courthouse as Kristen returns and asks for the ruling that awards her custody. Belle confirms that she will get her own copy. Kristen can’t believe that she won and Brady lost. Belle responds that any decent mother would know that Brady isn’t the only one who lost today, as Rachel did too, big time. Belle then exits.

The double wedding at the DiMera Mansion begins. The justice of the peace asks if anyone has any reason that either couple should not be wed. Gabi questions leaving that part in. Leo then interrupts and announces that he has something to say.

At the Brady Pub, Eric is on the phone with Sami, complaining that he told her that he and Sloan are having a baby and he’s happy about it but all Sami had to say was “at least Nicole is not the mother.” Eric then hangs up as Kate and Roman arrive. Kate and Roman announce that Abe has been cleared to come home so they were helping Paulina set things up. Kate notes that Abe does still have amnesia so he doesn’t remember who they are. Roman adds that they are going to do everything they can to make sure Abe remembers. Eric says he’ll do everything he can to help and then informs them that he has good news to share as well. Eric then announces that he’s going to be a dad.

Nicole questions the nurse saying her test results were already picked up when she didn’t pick them up. The nurse asks for her ID. Nicole argues that there was obviously a mistake as she shows her ID. Nicole questions the nurse losing her test results and asks what the hell happened to her test results.

Sloan talks to herself in the hospital room about how Nicole is having Eric’s baby. Sloan states that as soon as Nicole sees the results, she’s going to realize the truth and it will all blow up in her face.

EJ sits next to Kristen and calls this an unexpected turn of events. Dimitri and Gwen question what Leo is doing. Leo thinks back to having sex with Dimitri. Leo then tells Gwen that he’s sorry but he can’t let her marry this man.

Roman and Kate ask Eric if he’s sure. Eric confirms that he and Sloan got a test. Eric adds that they are happy about it and he hopes they are too. Roman questions Sloan not being here when he told them the news. Eric assures that she wanted to be but she had something to take care of.

Sloan tells herself not to panic and that Eric is the father of her baby too, so this doesn’t mean they are going to lose him but then wonders if it does.

The nurse asks Nicole if it’s possible the father picked up the results. Nicole says no because he’s at a wedding. The nurse apologizes but offers to print out another copy for her.

EJ comments that Nicole is missing all the fun and wonders what is keeping her. Gwen questions what Leo is doing and complains about Leo not being consistent. Gabi interrupts and argues that she didn’t want a double wedding in the first place or this psycho drama. Gabi declares that she and Stefan are getting married right here and now. Gwen asks Leo to just tell her what’s wrong.

Nicole thanks the nurse but argues that printing out a copy doesn’t explain what happened to the original results because they are kind of private. The nurse offers to track down her colleague to find out what happened while Nicole warns that the father is EJ DiMera. Nicole then pulls out her phone.

EJ tells Kristen that he’s going to call Nicole because something must be wrong. Leo apologizes to Gabi. Gwen tells Leo to talk to her. Leo says Gwen is his only friend. Dimitri urges Leo to trust Gwen and promises not to hurt her. Dimitri adds that Leo will always be a part of Gwen’s life so they are stuck with each other and he hopes one day they can be friends. Gabi wants to get on with this. Dimitri adds that this marriage will enrich all their lives. Gwen tells Leo that his blessing means so much to her. Leo then gives in and gives his blessing. Gwen thanks him and says that means a lot. Gabi calls for the wedding to now proceed.

EJ calls Nicole and asks if she’s sure that she doesn’t want him to come to the hospital. Nicole thanks him but says there’s no point as she remarks that she’s sure it will get straightened out soon or else she’s going to kill someone.

Roman tells Eric that this is certainly unexpected. Eric reveals that it was actually planned. Kate apologizes and says she’s just surprised. Eric argues that it’s not a pleasant surprise as he expected them to congratulate him. Roman assures that he’s thrilled to be a grandfather again and that he’s happy for Eric because he knows he always wanted to be a father, but admits that Sloan is not his favorite person because she terrorized Paulina and Chanel, then gave her playbook to her demented brother who is the reason that his best friend Abe doesn’t know who the hell he is. Roman apologizes as he thought Eric was just having a fling with Sloan and now having a baby is a hell of a commitment. Roman questions what the hell changed.

Sloan complains to herself that her nightmare is coming true that Eric is going to find out that he’s having her baby and Nicole’s, then he will leave her for Nicole. Sloan declares that there is only one thing she can do…

The double wedding continues. Stefan and Gabi say I do as they exchange their rings. Gwen and Dimitri then exchange rings as well as Leo watches on. The two couples are then pronounced husbands and wives. Leo rolls his eyes as Dimitri kisses Gwen. Stefan then kisses Gabi.

Eric knows Roman and Kate don’t approve of he and Sloan and that they are doing this for the wrong reasons. Eric brings up how not that long ago, Roman had to welcome EJ DiMera in to the family and says they can’t forget Lucas kidnapping Sami. Kate calls that fair and admits that not long ago, she encouraged Eric and Sloan to have a baby which Roman questions. Kate explains that she encouraged them that life is short and to seize the day, so she would be a hypocrite to express disapproval. Kate assures Eric that she’s really happy for him. Eric responds that he really appreciates that, but unfortunately his father doesn’t feel the same way. Roman stops him and acknowledges that his mother always said every child is a new blessing. Kate encourages that the baby will be loved, cherished, and spoiled. Roman then congratulates Eric and his child, who he says will have the best father that any kid could ever ask for. Roman then hugs Eric as Kate congratulates him.

The nurse returns to Nicole and informs her that her colleague claimed that she gave the test results to Nicole Walker. Nicole argues that she didn’t because she is Nicole Walker and questions who the hell she gave it to. Sloan then comes over and reveals it was her.

Eric thanks Roman for coming around. Roman credits Kate for being happy for him and for remembering his mother’s words. Roman admits he had misgivings at first but he knows that it’s obviously something Eric wants very badly, so he wants it for him, especially since he knows how disappointed Eric was when Jada terminated her pregnancy. Eric assures that he and Sloan’s decision had nothing to do with that or with EJ having Nicole’s child. Eric says it’s been a hard year for him and Sloan has been through it all. Kate asks if Jada knows about the baby. Eric confirms that she does and that she took the news very well as they have both moved on.

Jada comments to Rafe that Leo really likes attention. Rafe jokes that by Salem’s standards, the wedding was relatively drama free. Gwen questions Leo not giving her a heads up and why he interrupted the wedding. Leo says that he’s going to leave but Dimitri says no and that Leo did what he thought was right. Dimitri adds that it would kill him to know they stopped being friends because of him. EJ asks Kristen how long she thinks Stefan and Gabi will last. Kristen suggests six months while EJ says he’s trying to be a supportive brother which Kristen jokes is no fun. EJ assumes Kristen gave Gabi her necklace. Kristen admits she loaned it so EJ jokes that he’s not the only one trying to play nice then. Kristen says she was just feeling charitable after the news of sharing custody of Rachel. Kristen adds that she also wants Gabi to see her as a friend and not an enemy. EJ reminds Kristen that she said the same thing about Megan and how that turned out. Rafe tells Gabi that she looks beautiful and jokes about her yelling at Leo. Jada says overall the wedding was beautiful which Gabi agrees with. Gabi says whatever was up with Leo doesn’t matter because all she remembers is saying I do as she and Stefan kiss. Rafe and Jada walk on. Rafe pats EJ on the back, accidentally causing him to spill his champagne. Rafe stops and apologizes then congratulates EJ as he heard that he’s having a baby. Rafe asks if Nicole is coming back so he can congratulate her in person. EJ thanks him and says he hopes so as he then walks away. Jada asks Rafe about wanting to congratulate Nicole. Rafe says he is taking the high road. Rafe then points out that Nicole is not there, so he decides they can go ahead and take off. Jada agrees that Gabi won’t mind as she and Rafe exit the mansion.

Nicole questions why Sloan has her test results. Sloan responds that she and Eric are having genetic testing done as well, so she came to get her results and that the nurse must have given her Nicole’s by mistake. Nicole complains that it’s open. Sloan claims that she’s been having anxiety and didn’t even look at the envelope to check the name. Nicole then reads the test results and says thank God as it says there are no genetic anomalies and she can’t wait to tell EJ that their baby is fine. Sloan thinks back to changing the test results so that there is no mention of EJ not being a match for Nicole’s baby. The nurse guesses she doesn’t have to print another copy after all.

EJ congratulates Stefan and Gabi. Stefan thanks EJ for standing up for him and says it means a lot. Gabi says she’s very happy about joining the family again. Gabi knows EJ doesn’t feel the same way but suggests they have a fresh start which EJ says he would like. Leo asks Gwen about throwing her bouquet. Gwen points out that there are two bouquets and two single women, so she should just give hers to Jada. Gwen goes to look for Jada while Dimitri comes over to Leo and tells him that they need to talk. Dimitri takes Leo out of the room. Gwen asks Kristen if she has seen Jada. Kristen thinks Jada and Rafe snuck out. Gwen then tosses the bouquet to Kristen then since she’s the one single woman left. Kristen wonders if Leo’s feelings for Dimitri have been put to bed. Gwen responds that Dimitri has been really great at smoothing things out with Leo. Gwen then wonders where they went.

Sloan tells the nurses that they figured everything out with the test results and decides to walk Nicole out of the hospital.

Kristen tells EJ about Gwen giving her the bouquet since she’s the only single woman in attendance, so she hopes Nicole didn’t have her heart set on being the next bride. EJ notes that she hasn’t mentioned it, but who knows.

Dimitri questions Leo about interrupting the wedding. Leo complains about his conscience getting the best of him. Dimitri insists that Gwen will be fine and that he will inherit millions of dollars, so the three of them will live happily ever after. Leo remarks that Dimitri gets to have his cake and eat it too. Dimitri shares a piece of his cake with Leo. They almost kiss until Gwen comes out and asks what’s going on here.

Rafe and Jada go to the Pub. Kate comments on them looking fabulous. Rafe responds that they just came from Gabi’s wedding. Kate asks if Jada caught the bouquet. Jada responds that they didn’t throw them. Kate questions saying they, so Rafe explains that it turned in to a double wedding at the last second as Dimitri married Gwen. Kate jokes that sounds like a marriage made in Heaven. Rafe says they didn’t mean to interrupt. Kate tells them to enjoy the rest of their evening. Roman says it was good to see them as they head upstairs. Kate comments on Rafe and Jada making an adorable couple. Eric acknowledges that Jada looks happy which Kate agrees with. Roman then asks Eric how far along Sloan is. Eric says it’s just a few weeks. Roman is surprised that they are telling people so early. Kate asks why not since Sloan is young and healthy, so she’s sure it will be smooth sailing. Sloan then enters the Pub.

Gwen questions what Leo and Dimitri were whispering about. Leo claims it was her surprise. Gwen talks about how now that they are married, she can finally know what it is and asks what the surprise is. Nicole comes home and says that’s perfect timing because she loves surprises, so she asks what it is.

Stefan suggests he and Gabi take their party upstairs. Gabi points out that it’s their wedding reception. Stefan says no one will miss them which Gabi agrees with so they exit.

Nicole apologizes for being nosy. Dimitri says they will all know soon enough and that he was just asking Leo for his advice on their honeymoon and that Gwen has always wanted to go to Iceland. Gwen is touched that he remembered and says Dimitri is so thoughtful and generous. Gwen hugs Dimitri which Nicole and Leo take as their cue to leave, so they head back in to the living room. EJ greets Nicole and jokes that he was about to send out a search party. Nicole confirms that she got the test results and explains that they were delayed because the nurse accidentally gave them to Sloan Peterson.

Eric greets Sloan as Roman invites her over since they are toasting the new baby. Eric assures they are happy for them. Roman offers to get Sloan a burger or a drink but she declines. Eric asks Sloan about seeing her brother but she admits she never went and says there’s something she needs to tell him.

Rafe brings Jada back to her room and thanks her for coming with him today. Jada thanks him for having her and admits she had a really nice time. Jada invites Rafe to come in which he accepts.

Eric asks Sloan what it is. Sloan reveals that she lied to him about going to see her brother because she was feeling really anxious after her nightmare this morning and felt like something might be wrong with the baby, so she went to the hospital to see if the test results were in. Eric questions why she didn’t tell him as he would’ve gone with her. Sloan says she knew he was having lunch with Roman and Kate and she didn’t want him to worry too. Eric thought the doctor said it would take a few days. Sloan confirms the results weren’t ready but says she’s feeling a lot better now. Sloan informs Eric that she ran in to Nicole while there and that they put a rush on her results and found out nothing was wrong. Eric says that’s great for Nicole and EJ. Sloan claims that hearing Nicole get good news made her feel better about their baby and she realizes everything is going to be okay now as Eric hugs her.

Nicole shows EJ the test results and says it’s good news. Nicole admits it’s been hard to believe that everything is going to be okay, but now it’s starting to seem real that they are going to have a baby, which she calls their perfect little miracle. EJ declares that now they can stop worrying as they kiss.

Outside the living room, Kristen congratulates Dimitri and reminds him not to forget her when he gets his inheritance after his birthday. Kristen jokes about him not changing his name to Dimitri DiMera. Kristen then gets a phone call and questions why the judge would want to see her. Kristen is told it’s about Rachel’s custody and says she’ll be right there.

Outside, Leo tells Gwen that he’s already feeling bereft of her. Gwen tells him to stop the melodrama as they are only three miles apart. They talk about missing each other. Dimitri comes out and says he’s sure they will see plenty of Leo and have him over all the time. Leo jokes about not minding more time at the DiMera Mansion if they have more champagne in the basement. Gwen heads back inside to get him some water. Dimitri pats Leo on the butt as they follow back in.

Stefan carries Gabi to their room where he has the bed covered in rose petals. Gabi questions when and how he did that. Stefan responds that he has his ways. Gabi calls it so romantic and thanks him. Stefan tells Gabi that he loves her with all his heart, mind, body, and soul as they kiss.

Brooke and Ridge discuss the threat posed by Sheila, who is now free. Carter informs them that Finn and Steffy refuse to testify against her, leaving them with little evidence to take any action. Ridge is determined to protect his daughter and suggests remarrying Brooke.

Later, Finn and Kelly are at the beach, and Sheila saves Kelly from drowning. Finn thanks Sheila, acknowledging her as his birth mother. Meanwhile, Liam expresses concern about Finn’s relationship with Sheila and worries about the safety of Steffy and their daughter, Kelly. Steffy defends Finn but is troubled by his connection to Sheila and insists she trusts him not to let Sheila back into their lives.
