Update written by Dustin

Michael comforted a pregnant Willow, who wasn’t feeling well. Wiley wanted to go sledding, but Willow said that she and Michael had to go to a doctor’s appointment. Wiley said “that’s all you ever do is go to the doctor.” As Carly and Drew walked in, they heard Wiley yell at Willow.

Michael took Wiley upstairs and told him never to speak to his mother that way again. Carly and Drew were there to babysit, and Michael and Willow left for the hospital. Michael instructed Carly and Drew that Wiley’s was in time out for at least 30 minutes.

Drew had stacks of files of men who might be “Josiah,” the man that Drew is looking for.  Carly pretended that it was all like looking for a needle in a haystack.  Drew’s phone rang and he left the room.  Carly continued the search for Josiah.  After flipping through one file, she came across the man Drew was looking for.  She said, “Hello Josiah.”  After glaring at the photograph, Carly was certain that she was looking at Willow’s birth father.  Carly then sneaked the file and the photo into her purse so that Drew would never find it.  Drew entered the room while Carly still had her hand in her purse.  She claimed she was retrieving her lip balm. Drew said that he had thought her lips felt very soft earlier when they shared a kiss. Carly was flattered but she said that she and Drew couldn’t be caught by Wiley in a compromising situation.

Drew returned to the subject of Willow’s parents, and he couldn’t believe that the man who had lost his child had not filed multiple reports and had not come looking for Willow.  He said that if it were him in the same situation, he would move mountains to find his child.

Carly left the room to check on Wiley.  Drew made a call and told the person on the other end,  “I wasn’t able to determine Josiah’s identity, so I’m going to need you to question every Josiah in the area. And do not stop until you find the right one,” Drew said forcefully.

Later, Willow and Michael appeared outside the newborn unit at the hospital. Michael told Willow that he loved her, and that pretty soon they would have a new little girl of their own.  He said they were going to have many more memories and happy times with their new family of four.

In Britt’s office at the hospital, Cody walked in. Britt said she wanted nothing to do with Cody, but agreed to listen to him, after he insisted that he had lied and he had to set things straight. Cody admitted that his intentions toward Britt were not on the up and up when they had first met at the Metro Court pool. Cody admitted that he had known that Faison had once been associated with Leopold and that it was the reason Cody had initially wanted to know Britt. Cody added that he had blackmailed Spinelli into matching Cody and Britt through Society Setups. Britt said that she wasn’t surprised by any of his shady dealings.

Cody hoped that Britt would give him another chance. Britt admitted that a part of her wanted to get back whatever she and Cody had lost, but she kept saying, “I can’t.” Cody demanded that she tell him what was keeping them from being together.

Britt said that she appreciated Cody coming to see her and she began to cry.  She said that it meant a lot to her that he had made the effort, but that it was simply too late for them.  She said, “Goodbye, Cody,” and she walked out of her office.

At the nurses’ station at the hospital, Brook Lynn told Maxie that she wasn’t feeling well and needed to be seen ASAP. On a bench nearby, Maxie asked Brook Lynn about her symptoms. Brook Lynn said that she had lost interest in things she had previously loved, had tightness in her chest and had a general sense of malaise about everything. Brook Lynn added that she also was having random crying spells. “You’re not sick, Brook Lynn. You’re in love,” Maxie said.

Brook Lynn offered no contest regarding being in love with Chase. Brook Lynn said she didn’t know the signs of being in love because she had never been in love before. Brook Lynn wondered if Chase had been in love with her, too. Maxie said that if he wasn’t in love with Brook Lynn he at least cared deeply for her.  “If you really love Chase, you’ve got to win him back,” Maxie said.

At the Metro Court, Sasha told Gladys about how Britt had helped deliver the “miracle baby” at the Quartermaine mansion on Christmas. Sasha thanked Gladys for helping her get through Brando’s death and by stepping up to be her guardian. Chase dropped by to say hello to Sasha, and Gladys told Chase that she caught his performance at the Gingerbread Jam and said she had downloaded the new single that very night. Sasha asked Chase what it was like to be newly famous.

Chase asked how the holidays had been for Sasha. Sasha admitted that her first Christmas without Brando had been a struggle, but she added that she had felt blessed to have been surrounded with friends and family like Sonny, Gladys and Nina.. Chase said that he was also one of Sasha’s friends. Sasha thanked Chase for saying that. Chase offered to be there for Sasha if she ever needed to talk.

Chase added that Sasha seemed to be doing so much better. Chase asked if Sasha’s guardianship would be over soon. Sasha was hopeful that the guardianship would end soon, but she admitted that Gladys had done “such a good job” as a guardian and that it had brought them closer than ever.

Chase was happy for Sasha. Sasha put her hand on Chase’s arm, and said she was always in his corner. “Right back at you,” Chase said, and the two smiled at one another.

After Gladys left, Selina appeared. Selina asked Gladys how she planned to repay the money she owed her. She said that she had dug herself in quite deep and she would have to work herself out. Selina wanted to know when Gladys planned on paying her the money she owes her. Gladys offered Selina a pair of diamond earrings that Sasha had paid for and said they should cover a good portion of the debt. After making a crack about them possibly being cubic zirconia, Selina agreed to grant Gladys a one-time line of credit to help her try to win her way out of the debt she had run up at Selina’s poker game.

Afterwards, Gladys rejoined Sasha at their table. Sasha excuse herself and after Sasha left, a waitress brought the check for Sasha and Gladys’ lunch. Gladys opened her purse, which contained a credit card with Sasha’s name on it. She paid for their meal with the credit card.

Also at the Metro Court, Britt met Selina in the lounge area. She asked Selina if she had everything she needed.  She said that if she had brought everything, she promised that after the following night, Britt would never see Brad again. “You’ve given me your word before, and you’ve gone back on it. How do I know that won’t happen again?” Selina asked. Britt explained that if she were to double cross Selina, then Selina was free to release the information that she had on Britt. Selina then handed Britt a small folder, and she remarked that it contained everything Britt had asked for. Britt opened the folder, and she found a passport and driver’s license under the name Rita Jenkins. “All the documents you need…to disappear,” Selina said.

In a suite at Metro Court, Sonny, Dex, and Frank met a middle-aged man with graying hair named Roman Hume. Dex was intrigued that Roman Hume had come alone to this meeting when even Sonny had brought two guards. Sonny told Roman that no one did business in Port Charles without following his rules. Sonny told him the two rules were discretion (which Mr. Hume had said was an absolute necessity for Pikeman Security Group) and the second rule was that no innocent civilians would be harmed in any way.  Sonny said that if they could agree on those terms then they could do business.  Mr. Hume agreed.

Sonny said that he also needed certain assurances.  Mr. Hume produced a huge briefcase filled with large sums of cash, his movements made Dex nervous and Dex briefly gripped his gun while the contents of the briefcase were revealed. Sonny gave the briefcase to Frank, who left the room. Alone in the room with Sonny, Dex remarked that he had noticed that Roman was ex-military. Sonny asked how Dex had known. Dex replied that he knew ex-military members when he saw them. Sonny remarked that the company Roman worked for, Pikeman, dabbled in military contracts. Dex asked if Pikeman was short for Pikeman Security Group. Sonny was impressed that Dex knew about the company. Dex shared that the company was a group that Dex and his unit had learned to steer clear of. “You worried about me, Dex? Don’t be. We’re gonna get everything under control, and the payoff is gonna be huge. You’ll see,” Sonny told Dex, who seemed unsettled.

Young & The Restless Update

Y&R logo

Update written by Barbara

At Newman Enterprises, Nick is in Victoria’s office telling her all about how well Christian did with his older cousins on Christmas Day at the ranch. Nick gives her props for how she is handling the situation with Johnny and Chelsea. Victor comes into the office, sits down at Victoria’s desk and tells her and Nick that he ran into Adam earlier and the conversation was disheartening. He mentions that the goodwill he and Adam had at the Christmas Day party is gone.

Nick tells Victor that Adam will never change. Victor snaps at Nick, saying that this is coming from someone who has become his brother’s romantic rival. He asks Nick when the hell he is going to stop cavorting around with Sally Spector. Nick becomes frustrated, says that he’s had enough of the conversation and walks out.

After Nick leaves, Victor asks Victoria if she is still attempting to acquire Chancellor-Winters.  Victoria informs him that she no longer has her inside source of information and has lost the element of surprise, along with her leverage.  He also mentions that he wants her to learn how to let things go and step back when situations arise that necessitate it.

At Crimson Lights, Sally is sipping herbal tea while flashing back to her date with Nick and being  sick to her stomach. Adam comes into the coffeehouse and saunters over. He sits down with her, sees that there’s something bothering her and asks what’s wrong.  He asks her since when does she drink herbal tea at this time of day when she has triple espresso for her afternoon pick-me-up.

Chloe comes by to talk with Sally about their fledgling interior design business so Adam excuses himself and gets a coffee to go. Surprisingly, like Adam, Chloe notices that Sally is drinking herbal tea.  Chloe chomps on a huge cinnamon roll that she offers to share with Sally, who turns it down and looks queasy.

As the women start preparing their business proposal for Chancellor-Winters, Chloe becomes concerned, observing that Sally is not feeling well. She wonders if Adam is upsetting her. Sally can’t answer because she has to get and up to run to the bathroom.

At Society, Summer and Phyllis talk about recent happenings in their lives. Phyllis tells Summer that Danny is in town and Summer is thrilled. She says that she hopes he’ll have time for a visit with her.

Phyllis lets Summer know that Daniel has offered her a job, then hesitates to say anything further. Summer can tell that this is because Phyllis has been hoping that Summer will change her mind about firing her. Instead, Summer tells Phyllis she thinks Daniel’s job offer is  a perfect fit for Phyllis, given her computer skills and gaming experience.

Summer says that Daniel’s job offer is great and urges her to go through with her tentative acceptance of it. Phyllis tears up and becomes very emotional, crying about how she has lost her daughter. Summer tries to reassure her this is not the case, but Phyllis isn’t having it. She leaves in a state of distress.

At the Abbott house, Jack, Kyle and Diane strategize about Jeremy and how they can get rid of him. Jack does not like that Diane left the cabin and returned to Genoa City with Kyle, Summer and Harrison. Diane counters that it’s of no matter because they must stop Jeremy. To asuage Jack’s concern, Diane reminds him that she got away from Jeremy once before, so she could do it again if she needed to.

In his suite, Jeremy looks at the briefcase full of cash that Jack left and flips through a roll of bills. His phone rings and it’s Diane. She starts setting a trap by telling him she wants to talk to him, but not over the phone, it has to be in person. Jeremy wants her to come over to his hotel room, but Diane says that it’s too risky, opting for a public place. Jeremy agrees to meet her at Society. Jack is not in favor of this but Diane is confident that Jeremy will take the bait and Kyle says that he thinks his mother will be able to pull it off.

Adam is sitting at the bar in Society when Nick comes in. Nick gives Adam props for doing an excellent job at Newman Media and setting a solid foundation there for Sally. The men share beers and talk about tricky things that are part of being a Newman, with their father feeling he has to put his fingerprint on every part of their lives. Later, Adam goes for a walk in the park and flashes back to his conversation with Victor and how Victor told him that he’s nothing.

Over at Crimson Lights, Sally apologizes to Chloe for having to leave and get to the bathroom. Chloe leans in and asks Sally if she could be … and stops her sentence. Sally knows what Chloe is implying and tells her there is no way she could be.

Diane meets with Jeremy at Society and immediately starts fake flirting with him. Jack lurks near the entrance to the kitchen watching with an expression of grave concern on his face.

When Sally returns to her suite feeling sick, she takes out her phone to look at the calendar, and becomes deep in thought. There’s a knock on the door and it’s Nick arriving for their date. He reminds her that they’re supposed to have drinks. Sally tells him she can’t make it because she’s feeling under the weather.

Jeremy is seated at Society, looking at his phone when Diane comes in and joins him. She tells him she is there to broker a truce and she can do something to settle her debt and wipe the slate clean. Jeremy asks her what that would be, as Jack lurks near the hall leading to the restaurant’s kitchen.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Abe and Paulina exchange Christmas gifts at home. Abe got Paulina a bracelet while she got him cuff links. Paulina grabs her phone and complains that she keeps thinking about Sloan Peterson. Abe encourages that Chanel is free of all charges in Sloan’s mother’s death, so they are both free. Paulina says she couldn’t be more grateful that Chanel is home, but she can’t help feeling like this is a long way from being over. The doorbell then rings and startles Paulina.

Stephanie and Alex kiss on the couch and start to undress until Alex stops and asks if she’s sure she’s ready to take the next step. Stephanie reminds him that they would’ve taken to the bedroom last time if Paulina hadn’t called, but now her phone is on do not disturb and so is she. Stephanie assures that she’s definitely ready and asks if he is.

Will arrives at the Kiriakis Mansion to surprise Sonny for Christmas, but is shocked to find Sonny shirtless with Leo Stark in the room. Sonny questions Will being there. Will remarks that it looks like he wasn’t expecting him. Sonny responds that he thought he was staying in LA. Leo talks about California but Sonny tells him to shut up. Sonny asks Will why he didn’t tell him that he was coming. Will responds that he wanted to surprise him, but didn’t expect to be surprised himself. Will adds that maybe a more accurate word would be horrified.

Xander and Sarah go in to a waiting room at the hospital after finishing the Christmas party for the kids. Sarah comments on Xander being a huge hit with the kids as Santa. Xander says he was glad to put smiles on their faces, especially since they have to spend Christmas in a hospital. Xander plays Santa again and gives Sarah one more Christmas present.

Bonnie sees the folder that Gwen gave Justin and notices that “Rednax” is Xander spelled backwards which she calls a funny coincidence. Justin responds that he doesn’t think it’s funny at all.

Sarah opens her Christmas present which is tickets to Greece. Xander tells her that recruiting Gwen to help him pick out a gift was a bad idea, so he hoped he could redeem himself and they could enjoy the honeymoon that they never got to have. Sarah calls it incredible but questions how he will pay for it. Xander says he always finds a way and reveals that he already talked to Kayla about getting Sarah the week off because he wanted it to be a surprise. Xander notes that Sarah seemed a bit distant today and asks what it is. Sarah responds that she was wondering why he didn’t tell her that Bonnie had accused him of being the clown that kidnapped her.

Justin questions how he never noticed that Rednax was Xander spelled backwards. Bonnie says he’s had a lot going on. Justin argues that this means there is no Rednax and that Xander must have made it up. Bonnie asks why he would do that. Justin turns to Gwen and asks if she has any ideas.

Sonny repeats that he thought Will was staying in LA. Will responds that the studio wanted him to, but he hated the thought of being away from Sonny on Christmas, so he told them that he would work from Salem and do zoom calls, then hopped on a Christmas red eye flight and got here as quick as he could because he kept picturing Sonny alone on Christmas. Leo points out that just a few days ago, he was picturing both of them alone and now they ended up both not alone. Sonny tells Leo that he’s not helping. Will remarks that it’s also not helping that Sonny has his shirt off. Sonny puts on the shirt that Leo got him and says he can explain, so Will says he’s waiting.

Paulina worries that Sloan is at the door to exact her revenge. Abe tells her that they don’t know who it is and encourages her to relax. Paulina doesn’t know why Sloan has her so on edge. Abe assures that he will take care of it. Abe answers the door and it’s Eli with the twins, surprising Abe and Paulina.

Alex tells Stephanie that this is a bit new for him as he got used to being the guy rushing in and sweeping a woman off her feet, but from the moment he met her, she knocked him off his feet. Stephanie asks if that means he’s ready. Alex confirms that he is, so they start to head to her bedroom. Stephanie stops again to ask if Alex has protection. Alex says he didn’t come here expecting this, so he’ll run to the store and be right back. Alex kisses her and says he’ll be back in 10 minutes as he rushes out.

Paulina tells Eli how good it is to see him and that she’s so happy he’s there as well as the twins.

Xander tells Sarah that he didn’t tell her about Bonnie’s crazy theory because it was just a crazy theory. Sarah talks about Bonnie didn’t think it was crazy and how the clown knew her daughter. Xander says a google search would reveal that. Xander thought they moved past this and asks what happened.

Justin asks Gwen about doing research on Rednax for an article for the Spectator. Gwen says everything seemed to check out. Bonnie questions her having no idea that the company was fake. Gwen claims that there was a website and when she called the number, somebody picked up. Justin mentions being to the website too and it looks real, only there are no employee names including the CEO. Gwen calls that strange. Justin says it is, especially since Gwen gave him the name of Maeve Wilson and asks where she found that. Gwen claims she doesn’t remember and says it must have been a public record or that Xander told her. Justin doesn’t think any of that is true. Justin doesn’t think there is a Maeve Wilson and believes that Gwen made it all up to protect Xander.

Sonny says he understands Will is upset. Will questions why he would be upset over coming home to spend Christmas with his husband, only to find him half naked with Leo. Sonny explains that Leo gave him the shirt as a gift, so he was just trying it on. Leo comments on the shirt fitting Sonny good but Sonny and Will both tell him to shut up. Will tells Sonny to make this make sense. Will questions why Leo is giving Sonny a Christmas present and why he is wearing pajamas. Will adds that if he didn’t know better, he’d think Leo spent the night. Sonny then admits that he did.

Stephanie waits for Alex to return, but instead Chad shows up at her door. Chad says she looks flushed and asks if she’s okay. Stephanie says she is and was just cleaning up. Stephanie admits she thought he was Alex. Chad asks if he’s coming over. Stephanie explains that he was already there but stepped out to run an errand. Chad apologizes for not calling first but Stephanie says it’s fine and wishes him a Merry Christmas. Chad gives her a present from Thomas and Charlotte as they wanted to make sure their mom’s cousin got something. Stephanie guesses it’s an Olivia Rodrigo CD from when she helped Charlotte through her nightmares. Stephanie says now she just needs to get a CD player and says to thank the kids for her. Chad wishes her a Merry Christmas. Stephanie acknowledges that today must be so hard for him. Chad admits that it is, but most days are. Stephanie asks how the kids are holding up. Chad thinks they are better than he is. Chad says when the kids saw the presents under the tree, it made him forget for a second that Abigail wasn’t there to share it. Chad says that Abigail was always really good at making the day perfect for them. Stephanie is sure he did that for Thomas and Charlotte too. Stephanie tells him that she’s so sorry and hugs Chad right as Alex returns.

Sarah tells Xander that she did apologize for accusing him of being the clown that kidnapped Bonnie. Xander points out that now it feels like she’s accusing him again. Sarah says she’s sorry and that Bonnie just got in her head. Xander reminds her that Bonnie was seeing clowns everywhere. Sarah admits that Bonnie is suffering from very serious PTSD and she shouldn’t let her get to her. Sarah apologizes again for doubting Xander since she knows how hard he’s worked to become a better man. Sarah declares that he’s been honest with her and she knows he wouldn’t lie to her as she hugs him. Sarah then suggests they go back to their motel so she can give him his Christmas present. They kiss and then Sarah exits to go change out of her costume.

Gwen admits to Justin and Bonnie that Xander did lie about the job. Justin asks if Rednax is not real. Gwen confirms that it is not, that she made the website, and forged his unemployment contract. Justin realizes that’s why Xander was so against him filing a wrongful termination lawsuit. Bonnie questions the whole thing being a cover. Justin asks why she went through all of this. Gwen responds that Xander did this because he was ashamed to let Sarah know that he didn’t have a job. Gwen says she’s sorry but she was just helping a friend and took it a bit too far.

Will tells Sonny that this must be a nightmare. Sonny asks Leo to give them a second. Leo responds that he’ll go change out of his pajamas and give them a chance to catch up. Leo tells Will to try to find some Christmas spirit while he’s gone. After Leo exits, Will tells Sonny to start talking.

Xander changes out of his Santa suit and gets a call from Gwen. Xander answers and wishes her a Merry Christmas. Gwen says she hates to bring him coal on Christmas and says it seems he might end up on the naughty list. Gwen asks if he’s done playing Father Christmas. Xander confirms he is and asks what’s going on. Gwen says they have to figure this out and asks where he’s at. Xander tells her he’s at the hospital but they can meet at the park in ten minutes. Xander asks if he should be worried. Gwen says she’ll see him in ten minutes and hangs up. Xander exits the room and then Sarah comes back around the corner.

Paulina gives Jules and Carver toys as presents for their birthday and says she always keeps toys ready to spoil her grandbabies. Paulina says nothing gives her more joy than seeing their smiles, especially after the month her family had. Paulina wishes the twins a happy birthday. Abe wishes Lani was here to see this.

Chad apologizes to Alex and mentions that Stephanie had said he just went out to get something which Alex confirms. Stephanie covers by saying he went to get candy canes because she was craving them. Alex asks if Chad is alright. Chad claims he’s good and asks to use the restroom to splash water on his face before picking up the kids. Alex then asks Stephanie what he missed.

Sonny explains to Will that it was really sad that Leo had no place to go for Christmas, so he invited him over for dinner and a place to stay. Will questions why Sonny cared if Leo had no place to go since he can’t stand the guy. Sonny argues that it’s Christmas. Will argues that there are limits. Will brings up that Leo put Sonny through Hell, drugged him, and took pictures of him in bed and now he’s trying a new angle to get him to trust him. Sonny insists that Leo is not working an angle. Will asks how he knows that. Will complains that he flew through a blizzard to get here and instead of holding each other and enjoying their holiday, they are fighting because of Leo. Sonny argues that they are fighting because Will isn’t even trying to understand him. Will shouts that what he understands is that Leo is always trying to get between them and that’s what he is doing now. Will doesn’t understand why Sonny doesn’t see that.

Justin and Bonnie sit together in the town square. Bonnie has a drink and says she knows it’s early but jokes that she will need it to get through Christmas dinner with Victor. Bonnie notes that Justin is distracted. Justin says he can’t stop thinking about the story Gwen told them and says it seems like a lot of trouble to go through. Justin points out that Sarah knows who Xander is and married him anyway. Bonnie admits that she doesn’t buy it either. Bonnie says there’s a lot more to it than Gwen is letting on and she thinks she knows where it is.

Xander meets Gwen in the park. Gwen informs him that Bonnie and Justin came to see her and that Bonnie figured out “Rednax” was just Xander spelled backwards. Xander asks what she said. Gwen says she covered for him as best she could and said Xander made up the company because he didn’t want Sarah to know that he didn’t have a job. Xander thanks her but notes that if Justin doesn’t believe her, he won’t let this go. Xander wonders about Justin saying something to Sarah since she still has her suspicions and doubts. Xander then worries about Sarah finding out what he did to Susan and Bonnie. Sarah then appears behind him and announces that she already knows.

Stephanie explains to Alex that Chad came over to give her a gift from the kids and they started talking about Christmas and Abigail. Alex understands the holidays are rough when you lose someone you love. Alex declares that they obviously can’t throw Chad back out in the cold if he’s hurting that bad. Chad comes back in to the room and wishes them a Merry Christmas. Alex stops him and invites him to stick around for a bit but Chad doesn’t want to be a third wheel. Chad tells him about the racing video game that they have been playing and asks Chad to help him figure out how to beat Stephanie. Chad then agrees to stay but jokes that he’s probably going to beat him even worse than Stephanie does.

Paulina finishes a call with Chanel, saying she will see her soon and she loves her. Eli asks how Chanel is. Paulina responds that she’s free. Paulina mentions that Chanel and Allie are at Marlena’s but they will be over soon as they have birthday presents for the twins. Eli jokes that he should’ve brought a trailer just for the gifts. Paulina hopes Eli plans to take the twins to see their other grandmother too. Eli confesses that he took them to see Julie last night. Paulina questions him not coming to her first but then decides he’s here now and that’s all that matters. Abe then asks Eli how Lani is. Eli responds that she’s strong but he knows it’s killing her to not be with family for Christmas. Abe hopes that next year she will be out and they will all be together. Eli says at least Paulina and Chanel aren’t locked up for the holidays as well. Eli asks if that whole nightmare is over. With no response, Eli asks what he’s missing. Abe informs Eli that Sloan has been making threats against Paulina and Chanel. Eli offers to go let Sloan to know whose family she’s messing with.

Sonny doesn’t think Will understands how hard it is for him when he’s gone. Sonny assures that he’d rather spend time with Will than Leo, but Will wasn’t here. Will thought they both agreed that he couldn’t miss out on this opportunity in LA. Sonny stands by that and says he’s so proud of him. Sonny apologizes for not telling Will about this sooner but says it just kind of happened. Will asks what kind of happened. Sonny responds that he and Leo just started hanging out and it wasn’t planned, but they just kept running into each other and they talked about a lot. Sonny thinks he’s come to understand Leo a bit better. Sonny knows Leo comes off as an arrogant jerk who doesn’t care about anyone but himself. Sonny states that Leo has had a really hard life and has made a lot of mistakes, but he’s trying to be a better guy. Will knows Sonny tries to see the best in everyone, but says sometimes you have to see reality. Will declares that Santa Claus doesn’t exist and didn’t suddenly leave Leo a conscience under the tree. Sonny argues that Will always sees the worst in people and complains that when Will walked in, the first thing he thought was that he was cheating on him. Will argues that Sonny did the same thing when he found him in Phoenix with Leo. Sonny shouts that he had reason to think that since Will had already cheated on him once.

Bonnie tells Justin that Gwen’s a good liar, but she doesn’t buy that she went through all that trouble just to make Xander look good to his wife. Justin agrees, so Bonnie thinks Rednax must be a cover for something else. Justin wonders what Xander’s secret is. Bonnie informs Justin that she believes Gwen and Xander are having an affair.

Xander questions what Sarah is doing here. Sarah reveals that she overheard him on the phone, saying he was going to meet Gwen in the park, so she followed him. Xander asks her to let him explain. Sarah tells him to go ahead and start with how he kidnapped Bonnie and Susan or how he lied to her over and over again or how he’s been sneaking around behind her back with Gwen. Xander calls Gwen just a friend. Sarah calls her a friend that helps him lie to his wife and commit felonies. Gwen tries to speak but Sarah tells her to shut her mouth as this is between her and her husband. Xander says this isn’t Gwen’s fault. Sarah questions if he’s seriously defending Gwen right now. Sarah then asks if Gwen put Xander up to this. Sarah asks if Ava recruited Gwen to get Xander to do her dirty work. Xander says that’s not how it happened. Sarah then demands he tell her how it happened and to tell her the truth for the first time in forever.

Paulina tells Eli that he’s not going anywhere. Eli argues that Sloan doesn’t get to push her around. Paulina appreciates him wanting to defend his family but she doesn’t want him going anywhere near Sloan. Abe agrees and points out that everybody is safe, so they don’t want any more trouble than there already is. Eli asks if they are sure they don’t need him. Paulina assures that they need Eli to be a husband to Lani and a father to their grandbabies. Paulina suggests making it a party for the grandbabies’ birthday, so Eli agrees to stay.

Justin questions Bonnie thinking that Xander is sleeping with Gwen behind Sarah’s back. Bonnie responds that in her experience, when a man lies, it’s usually about his pay check or his love life and she thinks Xander is lying about both. Justin hopes that’s not true. Bonnie points out that Rednax is a fake company but Gwen is a real person and she sees the way Gwen looks at Xander. Justin acknowledges that Gwen does seem to still be enamored with Xander. Bonnie suggests that while Xander was telling Sarah that he was going to work at Rednax, he was going to play with Gwen.

Xander explains to Sarah that Ava overheard that he was desperate for cash and he wanted to prove to Sarah that he wasn’t a loser who couldn’t pay his rent. Sarah yells at him to stop and not to make this about her. Sarah asks if Rednax is even real. Xander admits that it’s not. Sarah questions if Ava was his boss all along. Xander confirms that she was. Sarah then asks what Ava hired him to do. Xander reveals that the plan was to kidnap Susan for a simple transaction of EJ paying up and then Susan is free, but there was a complication when Bonnie found Susan, so he panicked and didn’t know what to do. Xander says when he came to his senses, he let them go and Ava swore to him that Susan wasn’t going to get hurt. Sarah points out that Susan went off of a cliff and died in a fiery car crash. Xander says he feels horrible about that but he let Susan go and couldn’t have known that she would get in between EJ and Ava. Sarah argues that if Xander hadn’t kidnapped Susan, she’d still be alive, so her blood is on his hands. Xander tries to say he didn’t mean to but Sarah states that he did it. Sarah declares that Susan is dead and Bonnie is traumatized while Xander lied to her, so everything she thought they had between them is a lie too.

Will can’t believe Sonny would bring up the time he cheated on him. Sonny argues that it wasn’t just a time. Will thought they got past that and it wasn’t an issue for them anymore. Sonny apologizes and complains that Will is accusing him of cheating on him with Leo when clearly Leo is just a lonely guy on Christmas who he’s trying to be a friend to. Will decides that he believes Sonny is just being a good person and nothing is going on with he and Leo. Sonny asks Will to promise that he trusts him as he would never do anything to hurt him or their relationship because he loves him so much. Will responds that he trusts him. Leo opens the door and listens in. Sonny tells Will that he doesn’t want to fight with the man he loves on Christmas or any day. Sonny cries that he’s so glad to see Will and that he’s home. Will says he is too but declares that now that he is home, Leo has to go.

Chad and Alex play the racing video game against each other. Stephanie brings them snacks and watches with a smile.

Paulina, Abe, and Eli sing happy birthday to Jules and Carver. Eli knows their wish for Christmas and their birthday is for their mom to be home. Paulina says that’s what they all wish and pray for.

Leo comes back in and says it’s okay as he’s not one to overstay his welcome. Leo mentions that he’ll be going to the soup kitchen. Leo thanks Sonny for his kindness and generosity. Leo wishes them a Merry Christmas and goes to leave but Sonny stops him and declares that he’s not kicking him out. Will argues that Sonny can’t be seriously falling for Leo’s sad act. Sonny knows he’s playing it up a bit but he invited Leo to stay, so he’s not going to throw him out. Will then declares that if Leo’s not leaving, he will. Sonny says he can’t be serious but Will then walks out.

Bonnie tells Justin that she hates to gossip about Xander after he saved her from the clown, but says it’s obvious to her that Xander and Gwen share a deep dark secret. Justin finds it hard to believe that after all they’ve been through, that Xander would betray Sarah that way. Bonnie asks if he really doesn’t think Xander and Gwen are doing the deed. Justin states that whatever they are keeping from them, he’s worried it’s even worse than an affair.

Xander pleads with Sarah to go on their trip together so they can figure this whole thing out but Sarah refuses to go anywhere with him. Sarah declares that she never wants to see him again. Sarah gives him the trip tickets back and tells him to take Gwen to Greece because they deserve each other. Sarah then storms off.

At Newman Enterprises, Nick tells Victoria about how well Christian did with his older cousins at the Christmas Day gathering and how he was exhausted from all the activity. He also gives props to Victoria for dealing so well with the situation involving Johnny finding out that Chelsea is his bio mom.

Victor lets Nick and Victoria know that he had a conversation with Adam earlier that day, which did not go well because Adam has no desire to return to the family company. Nick says that Adam will never change to which Victor replies that this is coming from someone who is competing with his brother       romance. He adds that Nick needs to stop cavorting around with Sally Spectra. Nick becomes frustrated, tells Victor that if this type of talk continues, he won’t like how things will be between them, and leaves.

Afterward, Victor lets Victoria know that he thinks she’s doing a fantastic job running Newman Enterprises.  He adds that he wants her to learn how to take a step back, take a deep breath

At Crimson Lights, Sally is sipping tea and flashing back to her date with Nick when they sat on the park bench and she started feeling nauseous. Adam comes into the coffeehouse, sees her and saunters over. He notices that she is drinking herbal tea and asks since when does she drink that because she has triple espresso for her afternoon pick-me-up. Adam notices that there’s something off about Sally so he asks her what’s wrong.

After a short while, Chloe comes into the coffeehouse for a business meeting with Sally so Adam excuses himself and gets a coffee to go. Like Adam had, Chloe notices that Sally is drinking herbal tea and wonders why.

Chloe is eating a huge cinnamon roll and when she offers to share it, Sally says no, that she’s fine with just the tea. She also mentions that the aroma is bothering her.

The women get down to work, preparing their business proposal for Chancellor-Winters.

At Society, Summer and Phyllis talk about the latest happenings in their lives.  Phyllis tells Summer that Danny is in town and Summer excitedly says she hopes he’ll have time for a visit with her. When Phyllis mentions to Summer that Daniel has offered her a job with his gaming platform,  mentions that Daniel has offered her a job with his gaming platform for Chancellor-Winters. Phyllis tells her that she has been hoping that Summer would change her mind about firing her and rescind the notice of termination.

Summer says that Daniel’s job offer is a perfect fit for Phyllis and is great, but Phyllis lets her know that she was hoping that she would change her mind about firing her and rescind the notice of termination. Since this isn’t going to happen, Phyllis tears up and gets weepy, telling Summer that she has lost her daughter. Summer tries to assure Phyllis that this is far from the case, but Phyllis isn’t having it. She gets up and leaves the restaurant.

At the Abbott house, Jack tells Diane that she shouldn’t have left the cabin and returned to Genoa City with Kyle, Summer and Harrison. This doesn’t matter to Diane as she says that they must stop Jeremy. Trying to assuage Jack’s concerns, Diane tells him that she got away from Jeremy once before and she can do it again. She wants to set a trap for Jeremy to get rid of him.

In his suite, Jeremy looks at the briefcase full of cash, picks up a roll, and flips through it. His phone rings and it’s Diane. She tells him that she wants to talk with him, but not on the phone. She wants to meet with him in person.

Victor asks Victoria if she is stll trying to acquire Chancellor-Winters. Victoria tells him that she lost her inside source of information about the company, and she has lost leverage.

At Society, Nick sits down at the bar with Adam. Nick gives props to Adam for doing such a good job at Newman Media and laying down a solid foundation for Sally there.

Over at Crimson Lights, Sally apolgizes to Chloe about having left abruptly to use the bathroom. Chloe asks Sally if she could be … and does not complete her sentence. Knowing what Chloe is implying, Sally says it’s not possible.

When Sally returns to her suite, continuing to feel sick, she looks at the calendar on the phone There’s a knock on the door and it’s Nick arriving for their date. He mentions that they’re supposed to have drinks and she cancels, saying she’s feeling under the weather.

At Society, Jeremy is waiting for Diane at a table, doing something on his phone. Diane shows up and he is happy to see her. She tells him she wants to broker a truce, something to settle her debt and wipe the slate clean. Jeremy asks what she has in mind, as Jack lurks in a corner in the hallway leading to the restaurant’s kitchen.

General Hospital Updates

GH logo

Update written by Dustin

Terry walks into Britt’s office and asks what she needs. Britt says that she received a message telling her to meet Terry in her office. Britt says that if this is someone’s idea of a joke she doesn’t have time for it. About that time, Austin bursts in saying that the three need to discuss work. The work of “saving lives.”

In the 10th floor lobby at General Hospital, Brad runs into Maxie, who is working on Britt’s party. Maxie explains that she is the official party planner because she has impeccable taste. Brad explains that Britt asked him to check her impeccable taste because he is a professional party animal.  Maxie is not amused.

Dante, arriving at GH in his dress blues straight from the memorial for Rory, checks on Heather, who is being evaluated for a return to D’Archam Asylum. Heather sees Dante and says, “Hello Detective Dreamboat” and indicates she could help him find the killer if he helps her in turn. Portia arrives to perform the exam for Heather and Dante leaves. Portia explains to Heather that this will be a routine evaluation to determine if she can return to D’Archam. Heather notices Portia’s last name and asks if she’s related to the young lady who was on trial for making a sex tape of her friends. Portia gives a Heather a cold stare. Heather quickly adds that it was “so obvious” that Trina was framed.

At Rice Plaza: Trina, Marshall, Curtis, Robert and Laura exit the public memorial for Rory. Marshall wonders when these killings will end. Spencer and Sam approach the group, and Spencer says, “It ends when we find Esme.” Laura inquires, “Who is “we?” Spencer covers and says he meant we, as in the people of Port Charles. The mayor reminds Spencer it’s important to support Trina, but it’s also important to let the PCPD do their jobs.

Robert receives a phone call from Dante, who says Heather has alluded to the fact that she might be able to help with the Hook killing investigation. Robert excuses himself and tells Dante he is on his way to GH.

Laura is asked for a comment about the Hook killer and the loss of Rory in the line of duty.  She speaks to the reporter and gives him her official quote. As she finishes up, Spencer asks Trina if she has changed her mind about their plan. Trina says absolutely not and they decide to step into the photo with Laura because it will definitely get them some attention in the press. So, Spencer and Trina step into the photo with Laura hoping that Esme will see it and it will drive her out.  The two of them are unaware of the danger they have just put themselves in because Esme is obviously not the Hook killer, as she has been locked away in Wyndemere for quite some time.

Curtis approaches Trina and Spencer and remarks, “That was a nice photo, but what was it really about?” They play innocent.  Laura asks to speak to Spencer alone. After Laura and Spencer walk away, Curtis suggests that Trina continue to hang out with Cam and Josslyn and to always remember how heartless Spencer can be. Trina listens, but she is also aware that she and Spencer have already put their plan into motion with the photograph for The Invader.

Marshall approaches and tells Curtis he will see that Trina gets home. Curtis thanks him and departs to meet Portia. Marshall warns Trina of Spencer and says that he is a liar and can’t be trusted. Trina tells Marshall that he has also lied to his loved ones. She pointedly recalls that some lies are told for the greater good.

Laura asks Spencer what exactly he and Trina are up to. Spencer tells Laura that he is simply trying to live up to the image she has of him as “a good man.” Laura says he is already living up to that image. Laura tells him that he needs to exercise caution with Trina because he has already hurt her once. Spencer says that he will never hurt Trina again and neither will anyone else.

Back at GH, Maxie and Brad try to figure out why this party is so important to Britt. Maxie asks him what he knows.  Brad says that he knows that Britt wants to be remembered as someone other than the person that was crushed by Cody when he parachuted onto the roof of the Metro Court. Maxie recalls that Britt wanted to party like it was 1999, so to speak. She seemed to begin to piece the mystery together in her head.

Mac, in his dress blues, joins Cody who is standing at the windows looking at newborn Britta Noel. Mac tells him he heard he had a hand in the delivery and got the mother and baby to GH. Cody brushes it off, and Mac asks why he always does that.  Cody says, “what?”  Mac says when someone gives you a compliment you act as if you don’t deserve it.  Cody says that is because he doesn’t. Cody wishes that Cody had a good dad growing up. Cody says if he had a dad like Mac, maybe he could have stopped him from making the one decision he will always regret. Dante interrupts them and tells Mac that Heather is claiming to have important information for them regarding the Hook killer.

In Terry’s office, Austin pitches the purchase of a new piece of diagnostic equipment that will cost millions. However, Terry says they can’t afford or approve it themselves. Britt suggests they pitch it to the board and let them decide. Terry senses something is going on with Britt because she is usually very budget conscious. Austin asks Britt if she wants to tell her or should he. But, Britt leaves to plan her birthday party. Terry instructs Austin to remain in the meeting room. She demands that he tell her what is wrong with Britt.

Robert interrupts and says he heard Heather has information for them. Heather says she can help them track down the Hook killer. Robert asks Portia if Heather is clear to go back to D’Archam, and Portia says she can’t find a single reason why she can’t be back in her cell by that evening. Heather offers to tell Robert what she knows if he offers to help her. Mac heads into Heather’s room, where she explains that she’s gotten to know Ryan and can get him to open up. In return, she wants to stay at Spring Ridge. Heather takes them through the myriad of reasons why she wants to stay at Spring Ridge.

Mac and Robert leave. Robert doesn’t trust Heather but he thinks Heather may be their best shot to uncover the identity of the killer.  He mentions to Mac the lack of leads they have on the case.

Later a cop enters and checks to make sure Heather’s cuffs are secure. He gets a news update from The Invader on his phone. At the same time, one of the nurses interrupts him to have the officer sign some papers. He exits but leaves his phone behind. Heather grabs it and reads The Invader article with the photo of Spencer and Trina together with Laura.

Back on the maternity floor, Dante admits to Cody he told Mac about Cody helping to deliver the baby. Dante says he deserved a gold star for it and for connecting him and Sam a few days back. Cody says that’s what friends are for and he wishes he had been a better friend to Britt instead of using her to get a prize that he thought belonged to him. He says that he and Britt made a great team delivering the baby. Dante says maybe 2023 will be their year.

Britt finds Brad and Maxie arguing over the theme of her party. Brad suggests a disco theme, but Maxie will not hear of it. Both of them are being obstinate. Britt tells them that it is her party, and they are both her friends, so they need to get along for her sake. Brad asks why it’s so important they get along. Britt basically says that she won’t always be around and she hopes if they work together on the party it could be something that will bring them together. They question what she meant by the fact that she “won’t always be around” and ask each other where she is going? Anyway, Britt’s efforts are successful as Maxie and Brad agree to work together to make this party a huge success.

Britt returns to her office, and Austin joins her. Austin suspects her party is her way of saying goodbye without having to say goodbye. Britt says, “What if it is?” Austin feels people deserve to know the truth. Britt tells him she’s busy and she doesn’t have much time. He leaves her.

Later, Cody walks in and finds a clearly frustrated and annoyed Britt.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Stephanie is at home on the phone with Kayla. Stephanie thanks her for her necklace and says she misses everybody. Stephanie sends her love and hangs up. Stephanie comments on having a depressing little Christmas tree, until Alex shows up at her door, surprising her with a larger Christmas tree as he wishes her a Merry Christmas.

Leo comes downstairs and in to the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion where he greets Victor. Victor questions what the hell Leo is doing in his house. Leo questions if he hasn’t heard and announces that he lives here now.

Bonnie goes to the hospital and wishes Sarah a Merry Christmas. Sarah asks how Bonnie is. Bonnie assures that she will be okay but Justin convinced her that she should talk to someone about the clown visions she’s been having. Bonnie notes that Marlena agreed to meet her this morning and they just had their first session. Bonnie says it’s just beginning but she feels really good about it. Bonnie then sees a clown in the hospital and worries that it’s happening again.

Gwen goes to Xander’s hotel room. Xander thanks her for coming and hopes he didn’t pull her away from any holiday family festivities. Gwen assures that he saved her from having to go to church with the Hortons, specifically Julie. Gwen asks him what was so urgent. Xander informs her that Sarah is at the hospital, so it’s the perfect opportunity for them to be alone. Gwen questions what for. Xander then presents the lingerie he got for Sarah which catches Gwen by surprise.

Justin goes to the police station to ask Rafe and Jada if Ava has said anything about who her accomplice was. Jada explains that they tried questioning her, but mentally she is completely checked out, so they won’t be getting any answers anytime soon. Justin questions if that’s it and he’ll just never figure out who kidnapped and terrorized his wife. Rafe assures that they are not giving up. Rafe says they are waiting on a forensics report from the warehouse and if anything turns up, they will let him know. Justin thanks them and says this whole ordeal has traumatized Bonnie. Justin worries that Bonnie is starting to feel like she’s losing her mind.

Bonnie confronts the clown in the hospital and says she knows he’s not real and is only a hallucination. Bonnie says she is facing her fears until Sarah comes over and explains that he is Clarence the Christmas Clown, the entertainment for the pediatric patients. Bonnie questions him being real. Clarence tells her to stay away from him and calls her a freak as he walks away. Bonnie decides she’s going to need a few more therapy sessions as Sarah hugs her.

Gwen asks if this is because she told Xander that he owed her one. Xander says it is, but Gwen says he doesn’t have to repay her in this way as she would never ask him to be unfaithful to his wife. Xander clarifies that he’s not suggesting they have sex. Gwen questions the lingerie then. Xander explains that it’s the gift he got Sarah and that Thomas overheard Gwen on the phone saying he owed her, so Gwen told Thomas that she helped him with the gift. Gwen realizes that Thomas told Sarah which Xander confirms. Xander adds that now Sarah thinks that he asked Gwen to pick out some sexy lingerie for her. Gwen remarks that she’d have much better taste. Xander asks if they are on the same page. Gwen says yes but her one request is that they forget the part where she assumed he wanted to have sex with her.

Leo sits with Victor and asks how Christmas mornings work around here and when they open gifts. Victor responds with about an hour after they throw Leo out on his sugar plum ass. Victor calls Henderson to escort Leo out of his house, but Leo reveals that he can’t do that because he is an invited guest. Victor questions by whom. Sonny then walks in and declares he invited Leo.

Stephanie tells Alex that she wasn’t expecting him until tonight, but this is exactly what she needed as they decorate the Christmas tree. Alex figured she might be lonely this morning since her family is out of town. Alex asks if she’s talked to them. Stephanie confirms that she did right before he came. Alex asks how Tripp is. Stephanie says he’s still upset about his mom and he wanted to stay nearby but Steve pointed out it would be a couple days before Ava can even have visitors at Bayview, so it was good that Tripp went to be with Steve, Kayla, and Joey in Seattle. Alex mentions seeing Paulina’s statement about stepping down as Governor, so he thought for sure that she would’ve gone to Seattle. Stephanie responds that it wouldn’t have worked out time-wise since she’s been so busy dealing with the fallout of Paulina’s resignation. Stephanie adds that she’s looking forward to spending Christmas with him and his family. Alex jokes that she might end up rethinking that by the end of the night between Bonnie’s hallucinations and Sonny’s new houseguest as the place is a little more nutty than usual.

Sonny explains to Victor that he was going to tell him last night but he was already asleep when he got home and then this morning, he had to get Arianna ready for Gabi to pick her up. Victor tells him to cut to the chase as to why he invited Leo in to their house. Sonny informs Victor that he told Leo he could stay with them temporarily because he was about to be evicted. Victor questions why that’s his problem. Sonny argues that he couldn’t let Leo spend Christmas Eve alone out in the cold. Victor says that Sonny gave him a warm bed and now it’s time for Leo to scamper back to Hooville. Sonny says that he told Leo that he could stay with them for the holidays. Victor says absolutely not and demands he have Leo removed from the house now or else he’ll call the police to have them do it.

Jada hands Rafe the crime scene analysis and asks if he wants her to stick around to go over it with him. Rafe tells her that her shift is over so she doesn’t have to stay but Jada says she does or else she wouldn’t have an excuse to turn down Kate’s invitation to a Very Brady Christmas lunch. Jada says it was kind of Kate to invite her but with Eric there, it would just be awkward as hell. Rafe understands and decides she can stay and help, joking that she can’t say he never did anything nice for her. Jada points out that Rafe will be paying her double overtime since doesn’t work for free, but says she will return the favor by helping him crack the case of the kidnapping clown.

Gwen is sure that Sarah wasn’t too pleased that she supposedly picked out a sexy nightie for her. Xander confirms it was awkward but it was better than telling the truth since if Sarah ever finds out that he was the kidnapping clown, she’ll never forgive him. Gwen assures that she’ll never say anything and Leo won’t either. Xander asks how she knows. Gwen responds that she trusts Leo and jokes that he enjoyed wearing the muscle suit and wrestling around with Xander a bit too much. Gwen tells Xander that she best get going. Xander thanks her again for everything. Gwen tells him any time. Xander then opens the door for Gwen to leave, right as Justin arrives and asks if he’s interrupting.

Bonnie tells Sarah that she can’t believe she almost punched an innocent clown. Sarah encourages that she didn’t and she was facing her fears. Bonnie worries that therapy won’t be a quick fix. Sarah assures that it’s important to stick with it. Bonnie responds that she’s just tired of being scared all the time, knowing the clown is still out there. Sarah says she’s so sorry that she’s dealing with this. Bonnie talks about how thankful she is that Xander was there to save her from the clown and how it made her feel so bad that she accused him of being the kidnapper which Sarah is surprised to learn. Bonnie says she was sure of it and she was so mean to him about it. Sarah questions why Bonnie thought Xander was her kidnapper.

Justin tells Xander that he can come back another time but Xander says he’s not interrupting anything and that Gwen just came by because he forgot his scarf at the Hortons last night, so she returned it. Xander then asks what Justin is doing there. Justin responds that he stopped by the police station to ask Rafe if he had any more information on who kidnapped Xander and Bonnie but he didn’t have any new information and was awaiting a forensics report from the warehouse. Xander says that’s too bad but thanks Justin for the update. Justin then gives Xander an envelope which he says is a Christmas present and a thanks for rescuing Bonnie. Xander opens it and asks what it is. Justin reveals that he drew up some papers because he’s going to help him sue the pants off Rednax.

Bonnie questions Sarah about Xander not telling her that she went off on him and says that proves what a good guy he is because he probably knew she made a fool of herself. Sarah asks her what happened. Bonnie explains that the night they were both kidnapped, she had run in to Xander earlier in the park and overheard him say the exact words that the Clown said to her and Susan which was “I will not let this situation destroy my life.” Sarah calls that odd and wonders why Xander would be saying that and who he was saying it to. Bonnie adds that she never got the chance to ask as Xander then said to keep your voice down which is another thing the Clown said. Sarah calls that a very strange coincidence. Bonnie says that then she explained to Xander that the Clown texted Justin and Maggie that she was going to see Mimi, which indicated the Clown was someone who knew her, like Xander. Bonnie adds that the clown was also muscular like Xander so it all seemed to fit.

Stephanie tells Alex that she’s glad Bonnie is getting help. Stephanie informs him that she also once suffered from PTSD and it was one of the worst times of her life. Alex asks her what happened. Stephanie reveals to him that EJ DiMera had her kidnapped which shocks Alex. Stephanie explains that when she was dating Philip, she got caught in the feud between the Kiriakis family and the DiMeras. Stephanie says she was held in a morgue. Alex tells her that he’s sorry. Alex says he knew that EJ was a ruthless bastard. Stephanie assures that it was cruel and unjust punishment. Alex brings up EJ being responsible for Tripp’s kidnapping too and wonders why it seems like EJ is making a habit out of messing with her family. Stephanie says he doesn’t know the half of it. Stephanie turns the topic back to the Kiriakis Mansion and asks about Alex saying Sonny has a guest. Alex reveals that Sonny asked Leo Stark to stay with them which shocks her after everything Leo has done to Sonny. Alex remarks that Sonny is a big softie and the opposite of Victor. Alex adds that when Victor finds out, the place is going to be a war zone…

Victor asks if Sonny has completely lost his senses, reminding him that Leo blackmailed him in to marriage and almost destroyed their company with a lawsuit. Sonny responds that he’s well aware of Leo’s past. Victor points out that it was just last year when Leo drugged him and took compromising photos of him in bed to sell to the tabloids. Leo notes that he has apologized to Sonny repeatedly as he feels so terribly guilty about that, especially in light of how incredibly kind and forgiving Sonny has been. Victor doesn’t understand why Sonny would forgive Leo. Sonny argues that he forgave Leo just like many people have forgiven Victor for his transgressions, because he’s genuinely sorry and he’s expressed profound interest in becoming a better person. Sonny is surprised that Victor is so shocked given how many people have forgiven him. Sonny declares that he would now consider he and Leo friends. Victor calls that the stupidest thing he’s ever heard. Victor demands Sonny get rid of Leo now or he’s fired. Sonny questions Victor firing him for giving his friend a place to stay. Victor argues that Sonny calling Leo his friend shows his judgment is impaired. Victor declares that until Sonny comes to his senses, he will just replace him with his brother, Alex. Leo says he will leave but Sonny argues that Victor can’t keep holding his job over his head, especially since Victor begged him to take it but now every time he does something he doesn’t like, he threatens to fire him. Sonny declares that he’s not going to be pushed around anymore. Victor tells him that he can take his righteous indignation and shove it because he’s still out on his ass. Sonny tells Victor to fire him and he doesn’t care. Sonny offers his phone and tells Victor to call Alex to tell him he’s got the job. Sonny declares that he’d rather have his integrity and help out a friend in need than bow down to his ridiculous demands.

Stephanie makes hot chocolate for her and Alex. Alex finishes decorating the tree, so Stephanie declares that it finally feels like Christmas. Alex then gives her a Christmas present of a video game system. Alex explains that Stephanie said she loved playing video games with her brothers back in Seattle and she looked forward to having a tournament with them, but since she couldn’t get back to Seattle, he thought they could have their own tournament. Alex realizes it’s not the most romantic gift, but Stephanie calls it the most thoughtful so it is the most romantic gift that anyone has ever given her as she thanks him.

Xander tells Justin that it’s very kind of him but they talked about this and he doesn’t want to pursue legal action. Justin argues that he was wrongfully terminated for refusing to do something illegal by his boss, so they can’t let this company get away with it. Xander responds that he doesn’t have the money to pay him. Justin says it’s pro-bono after what he did for Bonnie. Justin adds that he could end up with a huge settlement and all of his financial problems would disappear. Xander argues that it would be he said, she said. Justin says he’s worked with less. Justin tells him that all he will need is the full name of his boss before he can file the lawsuit. Xander tells Justin that he doesn’t want to do this. Justin asks why not and if there’s something he’s not telling him. Gwen stops Justin and declares that she will tell him everything.

Sarah asks Bonnie what Xander said when she accused him. Bonnie explains that he vehemently denied it and she was going to tell Justin her theory when she got knocked out from behind. Bonnie says the next thing she knew, she and Xander were both tied up and then the Clown came in which is when she knew Xander was telling the truth because obviously it couldn’t have been him.

Rafe and Jada go over the analysis. Jada notes there isn’t much to go on with no evidence or fingerprints. Rafe notes that it seems like after Bonnie and Xander escaped, the Clown went back there and cleaned up before their guys got there. Rafe then discovers that he might have missed something as forensics found a torn piece of flesh colored polyester fiber which didn’t match anything Bonnie or Xander were wearing. Rafe adds that Bonnie said the clown was wearing a blue suit again, nothing flesh colored. Jada calls it strange.

Stephanie and Alex play a racing video game together. Stephanie wins the game. Alex jokes that he never would’ve bought it for her if he knew she’d be such a monster at it. Stephanie says she’s just competitive. Alex jokes that she had an unfair advantage due to her racing background, so they decide to try a different game.

Victor gives in and tells Sonny to keep his job which surprises him. Victor declares that he changed his mind because he has a heart of gold. Victor tells Sonny that he’s made his decision, so he should just accept it. Sonny decides that it’s accepted and that means Leo can stay. Victor says as long as he’s put in a room far away from he and Maggie. Leo thanks him and says any room is fine, joking that he wants one with a bathroom. Leo gives Victor his word that he will never hurt Sonny again. Victor doesn’t know how Leo expects people to take him seriously while sitting there in pajamas. Victor then asks Sonny how his husband feels about his little sleepover party. Sonny admits he hasn’t told Will yet which Victor says he suspected. Sonny explains that Will decided to stay in LA to work instead of coming home for Christmas, so he doesn’t get a say in this. Victor remarks that if he did, Leo would be out on a park bench while Sonny would have a lot of explaining to do.

Justin asks what Gwen knows about Xander’s situation. Gwen responds that she knows the name of his boss and claims that it’s Maeve Wilson. Justin asks how she knows that. Gwen claims she was going to interview her to do some press for the company but when she found out they were crooked, she ditched the story. Justin asks if he has her contact info. Gwen says she has her e-mail in her research file somewhere. Justin says he has to pick up Bonnie from the hospital and asks if he can come get the info from Gwen after. Gwen says sure. Xander adds that he actually has to get to the hospital too since Sarah has enlisted him to play Santa for the kids in pediatrics. Gwen jokes that she’d love to see that. Xander asks Justin for a ride over there so maybe he can talk him out of the lawsuit on the way. Justin says sure but insists he won’t change his mind. Xander tells Justin to let him grab his costume and then he’ll meet him at the car. Justin tells Gwen that he will see her later and exits. Xander questions Gwen as to what the hell that was all about. Gwen argues that Justin was getting suspicious. Xander understands but questions who she’s going to get to play Maeve Wilson, asking if she’s going to Leo to dress in drag or call his old friend Jackie. Gwen assures him that Maeve Wilson actually exists and is a girl that she went to school with who was a real proper bitch. Xander questions how that’s relevant. Gwen says it’s not as they are going to send Justin on a wild goose chase and Xander will never be found out.

Jada asks Rafe if it’s possible that the fabric is from the clown mask. Rafe says it’s hard to say as all they know is that Susan bought the mask in the town square and it was made of latex. Jada asks if there’s anything else. Rafe notes that forensics also found piece of poly filled padding like the kind used in stuffed animals or pillows. Jada wonders if it could’ve been made at the factory or the warehouse. Rafe says his gut is telling him that this ties back to the kidnapper but he’s just not sure how. Rafe gets a call from Gabi and promises he’s leaving work soon and won’t be late. Rafe hangs up and tells Jada that he will have to pack it in soon because he can’t be late for Christmas lunch. Jada tells Rafe that he can go ahead while she sticks around to work on the file. Rafe suggests Jada come with him instead. Jada doesn’t want to impose but Rafe assures that she wouldn’t be as it’s just Gabi, Li, and Arianna so it’s all very casual. Jada asks if he’s sure. Rafe says she’d be doing him a favor since he wouldn’t be the odd man out. Jada agrees but says she would like to stop somewhere first and she’d like him to come with her.

Justin goes to the hospital to pick up Bonnie. Justin asks if she’s sure she doesn’t want to stick around for the Christmas party. Bonnie assures that she doesn’t want another run-in with Clarence the Clown. Xander arrives dressed as Santa Claus and gives Bonnie a candy cane. Justin wishes Xander good luck with the kids and says he’ll get back to him regarding what they discussed. Justin tells him to have fun as he exits with Bonnie. Sarah asks Xander what that was all about. Xander responds that Justin was just helping him with something and he’ll explain later. Xander and Sarah as Santa and Mrs. Claus then head for the party.

Sonny and Leo eat together in the living room. Leo talks about Sonny going above and beyond by sticking up for him and being willing to lose his job rather than have Victor throw him out. Sonny says it was as much for himself as for Leo as he is sick of Victor pushing him around. Leo calls it totally impressive. Leo then gives Sonny a Christmas present. Sonny argues that Leo is broke so he shouldn’t have got him anything. Leo insists and calls it a small token of his appreciation for letting him stay. Sonny opens the present and it’s a t-shirt that says “Gay as Christmas Morning”. Leo says he saw it in the store window and immediately thought of him. Sonny thanks Leo and says he loves it.

Stephanie and Alex play a dancing rhythm based video game. Alex gives up and jokes that Stephanie must be a professional dancer. Stephanie says she wasn’t but she was a cheerleader in high school. Alex jokes that he gives up at the games because she has all these secret advantages. Alex says he does have some talents as he kisses her.

Rafe and Jada arrive at the hospital. Jada tells Rafe about how her dad used to talk about the hospital Christmas party. Rafe calls it a wonderful tradition. Jada thanks him for coming with her. Xander as Santa speaks to the kids and has Sarah read the Christmas Story to the kids. Rafe, Jada, Xander, and the kids watch and applaud when Sarah finishes.

Stephanie jokes that she knew Alex was good at something. Alex guesses he’s not a total loser. Stephanie calls him a champion kisser. Alex asks for a victory lap as they continue kissing. Alex stops and asks her what’s wrong. Stephanie suggests they move this to her bedroom.

Xander and Sarah pass out presents to the kids. Jada remarks to Rafe that she’s surprised that a man as vain as Xander would willingly cover up his muscles with all that padding. Rafe then comes to a realization about flesh colored filling and the padding. Rafe declares that the kidnapper was wearing a bodysuit under his clothes. Jada asks why which Rafe calls a good question.

Justin and Bonnie go to see Gwen at the Horton house. Gwen gives Justin a folder that she says includes Maeve’s e-mail and all her research into Rednax. Justin thanks Gwen. Justin says he knows Xander is hesitant to pursue the case, but calls it the right thing to do. Bonnie then sees the folder and notices that Rednax is Xander spelled backwards which she calls a coincidence.

Sonny tells Leo that it was really sweet of him to get him the shirt and says he can’t wait to wear it. Leo says it’s the least he could do and suggests Sonny try it on now, adding that if it doesn’t fit then he will return it to get him the right size. Sonny says okay and removes his shirt. Will then walks in to surprise Sonny for Christmas but sees him shirtless with Leo in the room. Will then questions what the hell is going on here.

A tribute video aired to John Aniston (Victor Kiriakis) who passed away on November 11, 2022 as this was his final episode.

Update written by Barbara

At Crimson Lights, Chance comes in too late to help Sharon put together Christmas boxes for Noah to deliver to the local shelter.  When he asks Sharon if there’s anything else he can do, she has him help her with some cleanup, starting with sweeping the floor.

Once they’re both done with their cleaning, Sharon and Chance sit down at a table. She tells him that she misses Rey very much and how she had no idea she would only be spending one Christmas – last year’s – with him as a married couple.  She grieves the family unit she had with Rey and her children, and Chance mentions that his family unit has taken on a shape  he never imagined.

Nate and Elena run into Abby and Dominic  in the hallway outside Devon’s penthouse. Abby realizes that they don’t know about her marriage to Chance being over so she fills them in about the impending divorce. Nate and Elena are shocked and saddened.  While they’re talking, Devon opens the door, saying that he thought he heard them in the hall, all the while glaring at Nate. Abby and  Dom go into Devon’s penthouse for a visit.

Once Nate and Elena are in their penthouse, Nate says that he was thinking about what Abby told them about her and Chance. He also brings up Abby spending Christmas Day with Devon, even for Dom’s sake.  It is apparent that Nate wonders about the timing of Devon and Amanda’s split and Chance and Abby’s breakup. Elena asks if he thinks there’s something going on between Devon and Abby and tells him that he’s jumping to a huge conclusion.

Elena also says that Devon and Amanda’s breakup is none of their business and she doesn’t get why he’s spending the time to speculate about it. Nate says it’s because Devon has gone out of his way to condemn him for being deceitful and duplicitous and wonders if Devon could be described the same way. Elena points out that Nate is trying to turn Devon into a hypocrit. She tells Nate to let it go and try to fix things with his family.

Across the hall in Devon’s apartment, Abby texts Elena about getting the four of them together for a drink at Devon’s.  Abby doesn’t say anything to Devon and Elena doesn’t tell Nate, but the women are optimistic that the men will be on board with it.

Shortly thereafter, Nate and Elena go over to spend time in with Abby and Devon in his penthouse apartment. Things between Nate and Devon start off tensely, but the tension dissipates somewhat when they start talking about old photos and treasured family memories.

At the cabin, Kyle takes Harrison outside to build a snowman. While he’s gone, Summer goes off on Diane about keeping secrets, such as the one Diane pleaded with Kyle not to tell, that being how she actually worked with the authorities to convict Jeremy. Diane is surprised that Kyle told Summer about this. Summer adds that Diane put him in a horrible position, asking him to lie to her like that.

Diane brings up Summer’s mother, Phyllis, who has gone beyond the pale causing trouble for Diane. Phyllis is responsible for Jeremy Stark coming to Genoa City and causing Diane to hide out in the cabin to begin with. Diane tells Summer that she feels for her regarding how Summer has to split her feelings between being loyal to her mother and being supportive of Kyle.

Summer tells Diane not to underestimate her again and to please not put Kyle in a position where he has to choose between his mother and his wife.  Summer adds that there will be a serious problem if Diane inserts herself in a way that causes this to happen again.

When Kyle and Harrison return to the cabin, Kyle gets a call from Jack, who lets him know that  Jeremy claims  he will leave town after he gets the second installment of Jack’s money. Kyle replies that his mother is still in danger.

At the Abbott house, Tucker comes over wearing a Santa hat, bringing presents for the whole Abbott family in a large red sack.  He invites Ashley out to lunch and she accepts. After they’re gone, Traci talks with Jack about how she’s concerned that their family has become unsettled.

Ashley and Tucker arrive at the door to Society, and realize that Abby closed the restaurant for Christmas Day.  However, Ashley tells Tucker that she has a key to the place that Abby gave her in case of emergencies. She says that she doesn’t think Abby would mind if she and Tucker use the kitchen, provided they clean up after themselves.

Tucker and Ashley have fun preparing their meal, then chat and laugh as they eat. Tucker tells her that an opportunnity has presented itself and he has created a business plan for the venture, a brand new company entirely theirs, no ties to Jabot, no ties to the Abbotts. He adds that it would be a dream come true for her.

After leaving Society and arriving at the front door to the Abbott house, Ashley lets Tucker know that she’s not prepared to even consider leaving Jabot, but is flattered by his efforts to lure her away.  Tucker leans in to give Ashley a kiss, she responds, then pulls way, grinning.

When she goes inside, Jack is in the living room and she says that she presumes he saw the close moment between her and Tucker. A frustrated Jack tells her she’s making one mistake after another and Ashley says she wishes he would just trust her for once.

At the cabin, Kyle tells Diane that he brought Summer up to speed on Jack’s news and lets Diane her know it will be a lot harder to get rid of Jeremy than they thought. He adds that if they can’t buy him off then he has another reason to stick around Genoa City.  Diane tells them that she refuses to just sit there and fall apart. She mentions that they need another way to neutralize Jeremy as a threat and she has an idea for how to handle him.

Update written by Dustin

At the Port Charles Police Department, Laura and Jordan assess the state of the city after the previous night’s winter storm.  Jordan reports that although the roads are in terrible shape and the city’s sanitation department will be slow at clearing them, she tells Laura that there have been no reports of serious injuries or casualties.  They both agree that is very good news.

At the Quartermaine’s, Austin helps Brook Lynn clean up the mess created by wrapping paper and boxes from everyone opening their gifts. Brook Lynn says Leo loved Austin’s gift, a video game about marine biology. Olivia jokes that she would thank him but they may never see Leo again. Austin thanks Olivia for letting him stay at the Quartermaine mansion, and she says no one should be alone for Christmas.

Ned pulls Olivia aside and asks if she prepped enough food for another guest. She says there is always room for one more guest. Suddenly Cody appears at the front door shivering and tells her the road in front of the Quartermaine estate is closed and a complete mess, so no one will be getting out until the roads are cleared. Olivia asks what his plans are, and he admits he was supposed to go into town for dinner. Olivia insists he stays.

Ned tells Olivia they don’t have enough food. Olivia says she’ll whip up a lasagna and she’ll cheat on the noodles (she makes the mark of the cross). She runs off to the kitchen. Ned tells Cody that Leo will be happy to see him. Austin says “and just like that I’ve been replaced.” Brook Lynn says that wrangler trumps doctor every time. Austin tells Brook Lynn that she must think he is an awful person. She says no and that she knows what it’s like to tell some white lies when you think it’s for the greater good.

TJ and Molly arrive unexpectedly. They explain they were out caroling when they got stranded. Olivia invites them in and says to make themselves comfortable.

At Nina’s, Britt heads out after opening gifts as she has work, the polar bear plunge, and is meeting Brad at the soup kitchen. Liesl walks her daughter out and tells her she will have many more Christmases so she needs to stop killing herself trying to check everything off of her list. Britt says she knows this will not be her last Christmas but how many will she have left where she is able to care for herself. Liesl suggests she live every day like it’s her first (rather than her last), so she doesn’t lose sight of the magic around her.

Back in Nina’s place, Maxie screams “No,” as she picks up her phone.  Nina asks what is wrong.  Maxie replies that her flight to Portland has been canceled and now she will never be able to see Georgie on Christmas.

In Portland, Spinelli brought Georgie to see Ellie for Christmas. She thanks Spinelli as she missed her last year. Spinelli says she’ll always be Georgie’s third parent. He also thanks her for including Maxie as Georgie will be thrilled. Ellie thinks it won’t just be Georgie who is glad to see her. Spinelli says perhaps she can invite this new guy she’s seeing over too. Later, Maxie video calls them and breaks the news that her flight has been canceled until tomorrow. Georgie responds (in typical brat-like Georgie fashion) by rushing from the room. Spinelli excuses her behavior and says that she really does understand that these things happen.

As soon as Spinelli hangs up the phone, Ellie brings up the fact that she believes that Spinelli has fallen for Maxie again. He says that he did think that having Maxie there in Portland might be a good chance for them to determine if they could be a family again, but then admits that he guesses that it was not meant to be. Ellie tells Spinelli that Christmas is a time for miracles.

Maxie calls Brook Lynn and tells her about the bind she’s in. She hopes one of the planes in the Toronto hangar belongs to ELQ. Brook Lynn tells her she will see what she can do.  Brook Lynn makes a few calls and is able to secure one of the jets; however, she has no way to get Maxie to Toronto. Austin calls Mason and tells him he has been doing his bidding for months without asking for anything, but now he is asking.  He demands that Mason make arrangements to get Maxie from the Port Charles pier to the Toronto airport.

Meanwhile back at the Quartermaine’s, Olivia is stunned when the doorbell rings and she finds a pregnant woman looking like the Virgin Mary standing there. She blurts out, “Holy mother of God!” The woman explains she was part of a live nativity and couldn’t get home because the roads are blocked. She asks if she can stay until a ride-share shows up. Olivia looks at Ned who says, “the more the merrier.”

Back at Nina’s, Maxie gets a call from Brook Lynn telling her the jet is hers, but she must take a boat to Canada. She tells her to go immediately to the pier that arrangements have been made to get her there.

Over at the Quartermaine’s, everyone finishes dinner and Olivia thinks her sauce went over well. Ned notes that it was a very spicy sauce and asks if she thinks that it was a good idea given that they have a pregnant woman as their guest. Olivia says all that spicy food nonsense is just a bunch of old wives tales.  As soon as she gets the words out of her mouth, the woman’s water breaks.

Everyone rushes to help the woman give birth, and Molly points out that T.J. and Austin are doctors. Later, Austin pulls Cody aside and tells him that the baby is breached and it will take a trained OB to deliver the baby successfully.

Sonny finds Sasha working at Brando’s garage. She explains the garage is being sold, and Brando’s 2022 resolution was to finish his bike by 2023. Sonny offers her a hand so that they can get it done quickly and they both can enjoy Christmas dinner.

Britt shows up. She explains her car spun on out the road, and this was the only place she could find open. Sasha says it’s not open, but she is welcome to stay until she can get a ride. Cody calls Britt, Britt actually answers the phone and asks what he wants. He tells her about the woman about to give birth at the Quartermaine’s. Austin takes the phone and tells Britt they need her help, and no car or ambulance can get through the roads. Suddenly, Sasha and Sonny get Brando’s bike to start. Britt looks at it and formulates a plan.

Back at the Quartermaine’s, chaos ensues as everyone wonders what they are going to do if help doesn’t arrive to deliver this baby.  When suddenly the sound of an engine can be heard.  Then like a Christmas miracle, Sasha and Britt step through the patio doors and Britt takes off her helmet ready to get to work delivering the baby.

Britt helps deliver the baby safely, and the woman decides to name the little girl Britta Noel, in honor of the doctor who helped her in her hour of need.

Eventually, Jordan and the Port Charles EMS arrive.  Jordan says she heard there was an emergency at the Quartermaine’s, but she had no idea that T.J. was there. It was a pleasant surprise because she hadn’t thought she would get to see him today. Jordan explains the roads are still hazardous but traffic is slowly starting to move, so T.J. thinks they should get out of the Quartermaine’s hair. Ned suggests that he is sure the roads are still dangerous and it is probably best for everyone to stay put. He suggests that they should all stay at the mansion and celebrate Christmas together.

Scott gets smacked in the head by a snowball as he approaches Elizabeth’s place.  Then he picks up a snowball himself and hurls it back, a full-on snowball fight begins. Inside, Liz looks at a photo of her family, and then another picture of her with Finn and Violet. Cam asks his mom if everything is okay because she’s been quiet about Finn. Cam assures Elizabeth that she can always talk to him.  Elizabeth tells Cam that she knows she can count on him but she assures him she’s fine. She asks if Joss is stopping by, but he says that she is without a car and the roads are still not in the best of conditions.

Scott comes inside and Cam goes out to take his place in the snowball fight. Scott lets Liz know that both he and Laura are worried about her. She admits that she has never spent a Christmas with her parents since she left California, but that for some reason it feels final now.  Scott says that Elizabeth’s father is a fool and that she will always be a Baldwin.

Laura arrives to check on Elizabeth. They share a hug. Elizabeth realizes that instead of focusing on the parents that were never there she should be thankful for the family that has always been there for her.  Elizabeth, Scott and Laura share a hug. Liesl then arrives and does a little dance with mistletoe over her head, and Scott pulls her in for a kiss.

At Nina’s place, Sonny finally makes it for Christmas dinner, carrying a wreath. Nina gives him a big kiss and they share a laugh.

Maxie arrives at the Edmonton, Alberta airport, after the plane she had boarded in Toronto was forced to land because of the weather. She’s told by an attendant that with the severity of the storm, there will be no flights departing from Edmonton until at least the next day.

Maxie calls Spinelli and leaves a message asking why he’s not answering his phone. As she hangs up, Spinelli and Georgie appear. He explains they had intended to fly into Canada in hopes of driving to Port Charles but their flight was also grounded. They can’t believe that they all ended up in the same place on Christmas. They open gifts while eating airport pizza.

Back in Portland, Ellie gets a call from the guy she has just begun dating.  It is Griffin Munroe.

Update written by Joseph

Chad visits Abigail’s grave with flowers and wishes her a Merry Christmas.

Gwen sets the table at home, while on the phone with Leo. Gwen talks about Leo getting a spot at the Kiriakis Mansion. Gwen tells him that she has no details to share since she didn’t have to help Xander out of that jam after all. Gwen adds that she made sure to let Xander know that he still owes her one. Chad’s son Thomas then walks in and questions why he owes her one.

Xander is at home, reading The Intruder article about Ava saying her dead son made her do it. Xander remarks that Ava lost the last of her marbles which he calls a Christmas miracle. Sarah comes out of the bathroom and asks what he said about a Christmas miracle. Xander responds that if he told her, it wouldn’t come true. Sarah says that’s a birthday wish. Xander jokes that he was saying it’d be a miracle if they make it to the party at Doug and Julie’s in time given how much preparing she was doing. Xander tells her that she looks lovely and jokes that they can skip the party and go straight to the afterparty. Sarah gives Xander a Christmas present that she says has to be opened tonight. Xander opens it and it’s his personal Christmas ornament with his name on it to add to the Horton Christmas Tree.

Doug is on the phone with Hope at home as Julie walks in with the box of ornaments. Doug wishes Hope a Merry Christmas and hands the phone to Julie. Julie wishes she was here with them now. Julie says she loves her and hangs up. They note that Hope sounds in good spirits. Julie says Hope is devoted to her skating students but wishes she wasn’t long distance. Julie calls this the first Christmas that they won’t have one child or any of their grandchildren with them as Hope is in Montreal while Ciara and Ben are sailing the ocean with little Bo, and Shawn and Belle went to Africa to be with Claire. Julie feels for Eli being away from Lani and comments on he and the twins being so far away in Maryland. Julie wishes she could see them with her own eyes. Eli then appears with the twins, Carver and Jules, and says he thinks that can be arranged. Julie is thrilled and excitedly rushes to hug Eli as he wishes her a Merry Christmas. Julie asks if Doug knew they were coming. Doug responds that he was sworn to secrecy. Julie says she’s so thrilled and she can’t believe they are really here. Julie asks how Eli managed to cross country from Maryland with the twins all by himself. Eli responds that he’s learned to do a lot of things on his own since Lani went away.

Sarah explains to Xander that the ornament is for the Horton tree. Xander thought that was just for family. Sarah responds that he is family since he is her husband. Xander responds that he doesn’t feel worthy of having an ornament on her family’s tree.

Chad talks at Abigail’s grave about how tonight is her family’s big Christmas tree trimming party. Chad mentions that he will bring the kids tomorrow to wish Abigail a Merry Christmas. Chad vows that he will do his best to make Christmas okay for the kids because that’s what she would want. Chad says some people say it gets easier with time, but he misses her more and not less. Chad adds that he will see to it that the kids will have joy on Christmas because they will be surrounded by a lot of people that loved Abigail. Chad tells Abigail that he will love her forever as he leaves the flowers at her grave. Jennifer then arrives and joins Chad, asking where else she would be. Chad thought Jack was picking her up from the airport. Jennifer says that she knew Jack was on grandpa duty so she took a car service. Chad states that Abigail should be there with them as he hugs Jennifer.

Gwen tells Leo that she will call him back and hangs up. Gwen tells Thomas that she didn’t see or hear him come in. Gwen asks if he shouldn’t be upstairs getting ready for the party. Thomas responds that he’s already ready. Gwen suggests he could help Charlotte get ready too. Thomas tells her that Jack is helping her. Thomas asks Gwen again why Xander owes her. Gwen tells him that it’s impolite to eavesdrop. Thomas comments that he wasn’t eavesdropping, she just talks loud. Thomas asks what she did for Xander. Gwen says she just did him a favor. Thomas asks what kind of favor.

Xander tells Sarah that an ornament with his name doesn’t belong in the hallowed family Christmas tree. Sarah understands he’s heard about how her family is filled with saints but says it’s also filled with sinners. Sarah tells Xander that her dad and her uncle Bill’s rivalry over Laura was so bad that it almost turned deadly. Sarah adds that Julie and her mother fell in love with the same ex-con, Doug. Xander is shocked to learn that Doug was an ex-con. Sarah says she won’t even get started on her cousins as that’s a whole other story. Sarah asks if Xander still thinks he’s not worthy. They are interrupted by a knock at the door, so Xander goes to answer the door.

Jack brings Charlotte in to the living room and tells Eli that it’s so good to see him with the twins. Doug declares that now it’s Christmas time. Jack suggests Charlotte take the twins upstairs to show them her playroom. Julie talks about Lucy the babysitter she has hired. Eli and Jack then take the kids upstairs. Julie and Doug agree that it’s wonderful and Christmas now. Eli comes back and says Jack’s in charge now. Julie asks Eli how he’s really coping. Eli admits it’s been tough. Doug is sure Valerie has been a great help. Eli confirms that he doesn’t know how he wouldn’t have done it without his mother and says the twins love her but she’s no substitute for Lani.

Gwen comments on Thomas being persistent. Thomas says he is curious. Gwen asks if he can keep a secret, so he nods. Gwen then claims that she helped Xander pick out Sarah’s Christmas present but he can’t say anything to anyone because Xander wouldn’t want Sarah to know that he needed help and this has to be their little secret. Jack then walks in and asks what they are conspiring about.

Maggie tells Xander and Sarah that she was on her way to Julie’s and figured she would swing by to see if they needed a lift. Xander thanks her and says that’s very thoughtful of her. Maggie feels like she walked in on something. Xander says they are all fine here but Sarah says they are not. Sarah tells Maggie that Xander is being hard on himself and has reservations about putting his ornament on the Horton family Christmas tree. Maggie tells Xander that Victor got his own ornament when they got married. Xander asks if the Hortons were okay with that. Maggie admits they were not exactly at first as some family members were crazy that Mickey’s widow had taken up with a reformed Greek mobster, but they got over it when they realized how much she and Victor loved each other. Maggie encourages that Xander is also reformed and a wonderful husband to Sarah. Maggie adds that he also rescued Bonnie from the sadistic kidnapping clown. Maggie tells Xander to face that he’s one of the good guys now as she calls him a hero.

Julie acknowledges this is the twins’ first Christmas without Lani. Eli comments that it’s not nearly as sad as what Thomas, Charlotte, and Chad are going through. Eli says the good news is that Lani will be eligible for parole in a year, so he can at least reassure his kids that Lani will be home soon while Chad can’t make that promise to his kids.

Jennifer apologizes to Chad for not being here for him more. Chad tells her that she had to take care of herself and she did that, so now she’s back. Jennifer talks about being back and facing the reality of losing Abigail is different without the crutch of getting high on pills. Jennifer feels less self-centered in her grief but more worried about Chad and how he and the kids are doing. Chad responds that they are managing. Chad admits that focusing on other work things has really helped. Jennifer mentions hearing that he’s working at Stephanie’s PR firm and asks how that’s going. Chad says it’s been a lifeline and praises Stephanie as a great boss and friend. Jennifer says it sounds like they’ve gotten close which Chad confirms. Jennifer mentions getting cold so Chad gives her his jacket and suggests they get going to the house where there will be lots of people who can’t wait to see her. Jennifer says that sounds good. Chad hugs her as Jennifer wishes Abigail a Merry Christmas. Chad and Jennifer then walk away together.

Julie tells Eli that she missed him so much. Eli says the kids are always asking about Doug and Julie. Julie is thrilled he’s here with the twins for Christmas and says she can’t imagine anything that would make this day any better. Chad walks in and asks if she’s sure about that as he brings in Jennifer which thrills Julie even more.

Gwen tells Jack that she and Thomas were just bonding. Jack is glad to hear that and suggests they get ready for more family bonding since Eli and the twins just got there. Gwen says she will meet them out there because she has to check on dessert in the kitchen. Jack then takes Thomas and says they’ll see Gwen soon. Gwen mutters that Thomas is a nosy little brat.

Sarah asks Maggie how Bonnie is doing. Maggie says she’s still suffering from the kidnapping and seeing demented clowns everywhere she looks. Sarah hopes Bonnie goes through with seeing a therapist. Maggie says that Bonnie is alive and well thanks to Xander and that they are all very grateful to him for his bravery. Sarah tells Xander that he has a very important appointment to keep with a certain Christmas tree and she intends to make sure he keeps it. Maggie jokes that he can’t argue with her. Xander admits he can’t fight off both of them.

Jack brings Thomas to the living room where he excitedly runs up to hug Jennifer and wishes her a Merry Christmas. Jennifer asks about Charlotte. Jack tells her that she’s upstairs with Jules and Carver and the babysitter Lucy. Jack asks why Jennifer didn’t let him pick her up at the airport. Jennifer looks to Chad and tells Jack that she had to make a quick stop first. Jack tells Jennifer that he missed her so much as they hug. Chad greets Eli and asks how he’s doing. Eli responds that he’s well and asks how Chad is. Chad says he’s just taking each day as it comes. Eli says that’s all he can do and he knows this Christmas will be tough for him and the kids. Chad says it will be for Eli too. Eli is thankful they have each other and that the kids are surrounded by many people who love them. Eli goes to check on the twins. Julie tells Doug that it’s turning out to be a lovely Christmas after all. Jennifer agrees that there’s nothing like being with family for the holidays as she hugs Thomas. Eli comes back with Charlotte, who joins Jennifer, Thomas, and Jack on the couch. Eli says that Jules and Carver went down for a nap as they wish each other a Merry Christmas. Julie mentions having to get the desserts but Jack informs her that Gwen is already doing that. Julie questions that and states that she and Allie are doing the desserts, so she heads to the kitchen. Eli jokes that Julie is on the warpath while Doug jokes that now it’s officially Christmas.

Julie enters the kitchen and questions what Gwen is doing. Gwen explains that British Christmas pudding is a Christmas tradition in the UK and remarks that she surely has room in her iron stomach for more than donuts. Julie argues that her grandmother created the recipe for those donuts and they are a Horton family legacy passed on through generations. Julie adds that Alice also created this home and warns Gwen to show a little respect. Gwen thinks Julie should show her respect since if it wasn’t for her, Jennifer would be spending the holidays in prison.

Sarah, Maggie, and Xander arrive at the Hortons. Sarah jokes that they were starting the party without them. Sarah and Jennifer hug, saying how good it is to see each other. Maggie wishes Jennifer and Jack a Merry Christmas. Jennifer says it’s so good to be home. Eli jokes that he heard Sarah finally made an honest man out of Xander. Eli welcomes Xander to the family and they shake hands. Xander thanks him and says that means a lot. Xander knows Eli and Lani didn’t always have the highest opinion of him. Eli says that changed after Xander helped rescue the twins from Vivian. Xander says he was glad to help and asks how Lani is doing. Eli says she’s counting down the days but she’ll be home soon. Sarah sends their love to her. Eli says he will tell Lani that Xander has changed his life and is making Sarah a very happy lady.

Julie argues that Gwen can’t be telling the truth and that this has to be another manipulation. Gwen assures it’s not and that she can ask Jennifer if she doesn’t believe her, but it might be stressful for Jennifer to have to relive the accident as she guesses it was quite traumatic for Jennifer to get behind the wheel while high and run down her stepdaughter. Gwen remarks that they wouldn’t want to trigger a relapse for her. Julie stops Gwen and questions what’s in it for her and why she’s keeping it a secret. Julie asks if she plans on blackmailing Jennifer or using it as a get out of jail free card. Gwen explains that she and Jennifer will never be friends but she is her father’s wife and she loves her father which is why she isn’t going to say anything. Gwen then asks Julie if there’s room at her Christmas party for her and her pudding. Julie tells her to go ahead but warns that there will never be room on the Horton Christmas tree for an ornament with her name on it. Gwen doesn’t think she will have much say in the matter but Julie argues that she always will, even if she has to send a directive from the great beyond. Julie then exits the kitchen.

Sarah tells Xander that she’s a bit chilly so she’s going upstairs to grab a sweater. Xander tells her to hurry back and kisses her. Sarah exits the room and runs in to Thomas. Sarah tells him that she hopes he’s having a nice Christmas. Thomas says it’s okay but he misses his mom. Sarah says they all do very much. Thomas mentions Chad saying that Abigail is watching over them from Heaven which Sarah assures that she is. Thomas then tells Sarah that he hopes she likes her present from Xander. Sarah says she’s sure she will. Thomas then adds that Aunt Gwen helped him pick it out which Sarah questions. Thomas then remembers it was supposed to be a secret and that Gwen only told him because he heard her on the phone. Sarah asks what he’s talking about. Thomas tells her that he heard Gwen tell somebody that Xander owed her one. Sarah tells Thomas that she will keep his secret.

Gwen enters the living room and greets Maggie. Gwen wishes Jennifer a Merry Christmas and says she’s glad that she is doing better. Gwen goes over to Xander and asks where Sarah is. Sarah then comes back in to the room and wishes Gwen a Merry Christmas. Gwen says the same to her. Julie announces that it’s time to trim the Horton Christmas Tree. Jennifer asks if Doug is going to sing for them this year and insists that he has to. Jennifer gets everyone to chant for Doug to sing. Doug then sings O Come All Ye Faithful and they all join in. Julie hangs her family’s ornaments. Maggie then hangs the ornaments for herself, Victor, and Mickey. Eli hangs the ornaments for himself, Lani, Jules, and Carver. Sarah brings Xander to the tree where they hang their ornaments as Gwen watches on. Jack and Jennifer hang their ornaments. Chad hangs Abigail’s ornament along with Charlotte and Thomas.

After everyone leaves, Doug tells Julie that she outdid herself. Julie says in spite of all the sadness of the year, she thinks tonight’s party was as lovely as it’s ever been. Doug agrees that Julie managed to lift everyone’s spirits with her generous heart. Julie tells Doug that she loves him so much. Doug tells her the same. Julie suggests they head to bed as they have another big day tomorrow. Doug can’t wait to spend Christmas Day with her. Julie tells him the same as they kiss.

Jennifer comes downstairs as Jack is texting Maggie to make sure she got home safe. Jack asks if the kids are all sleeping which Jennifer confirms they are. Jennifer adds that Eli is in bed too, totally exhausted. Jack says traveling with kids will do that. Jennifer asks if Jack wants to go to sleep too. Jack responds that sleep was not what he had in mind. Jennifer questions doing that in a house full of people. Jack jokes that he can be quiet and show her his stealth moves. They get interrupted by Jennifer’s phone ringing. Jack tells her to ignore it but it’s their son JJ, who called to wish them a Merry Christmas.

Gwen returns to the living room and looks at Xander’s ornament on the tree. Gwen remarks that at least someone will have a Merry Christmas..

Xander and Sarah return home and prepare for bed. Xander hopes Sarah had fun tonight. Sarah responds that she did until a certain point. Xander acknowledges that it was sad too with Abigail gone and Lani not being there, but her family was great and made him feel so welcome like he really belonged. Xander then gives her a Christmas present. Sarah questions him wanting her to open it now. Xander points out that it’s after midnight. Sarah then asks if this is the gift that Gwen helped him pick out for her which Xander questions. Sarah explains that’s what Gwen told Thomas as he apparently overheard Gwen telling someone that Xander owed her one. Xander tells Sarah that ran in to Gwen in the town square while he was shopping and she saw that he had no clue what to get her, so she agreed to help him. Sarah remarks that they’ll see what happens when Xander and Gwen put their heads together then. Sarah opens the present and it’s lingerie, which she questions that being what Gwen helped him pick out for her. Xander tries telling her Merry Christmas but Sarah is not pleased.

Chad returns to the living room and stands at the Christmas tree. Chad looks at Abigail’s ornament and says that he made it through his first Christmas Eve without her and he managed to stay strong for the kids. Chad thinks the kids had some fun. Chad says they are so sweet and brave. Chad mentions getting them some gifts from Abigail with things he thinks she may have gotten them. Chad hopes that helped them. Chad hears Abigail’s voice saying she’s sure it did. Chad then imagines Abigail appearing before him as the angel from the top of tree. Abigail tells Chad that she’s always there and that death won’t come between a love like theirs. Chad tells her that he misses her. Abigail encourages Chad to be strong for himself because there is so much left for him to do and so much joy for him to feel. Abigail declares that she will be with him every step of the way as well as with the kids. Abigail tells Chad to look for her in the kids’ faces. Abigail wishes Chad a Merry Christmas as Chad’s vision of her then disappears. Chad looks back at the tree and sees the angel is back in it’s place atop the tree. Chad wishes Abigail a Merry Christmas.

Update written by Dustin

Brook Lynn was thrilled to see Chase at Rice Plaza and he was clearly dressed to perform the duet with Blaze. She went up on the stage and announced that the performance would start soon. She announced the 1st runner up to the Ugly Sweater competition as Detective Dante Falconieri, just as Dante and Sam arrived.  Sam asked Dante if he had known anything about the competition.  He said no and that he was wearing his favorite sweater and thought it looked nice.

Brook Lynn approached Chase. Chase told her that the CCRB would be revisiting his case in the spring and that he had a sneaking suspicion she had done more than just write the letter. Linc appeared and shouted that Chase and Blaze were supposed to have already performed.  He wanted to know why the event had been delayed. This put an end to Brook Lynn’s conversation with Chase as she was called back to the stage.

Mac and Felicia arrived, and Mac, who was actually wearing an ugly sweater, was angry that he’d missed the judging. Just then, his phone went off, and he said, “Duty calls.” Nina and Sasha were dressed up as Mrs. Claus and an elf, and they greeted Sonny and Donna. Donna handed Nina a gift bag, containing an ornament that she had made.  Nina asked if Sonny had helped her make it.  She admitted that he had helped a little with the glitter. Sasha gave Donna a candy cane and took her to see the reindeer.

Brook Lynn announced the beginning of the performance and Chase and Blaze took the stage. The two performed their new duet, which Blaze said would be dropped that very night. The song got a big round of applause. Mac returned to Felicia and apologetically told her that he had to go. Dante approached and wondered if there had been a break in the case. Mac informed them that the earring that had been found in Rory’s personal belongings had belonged to one of Ryan Chamberlain’s victims from over twenty years ago.  Dante questioned how that could be. Mac said that was what they had to find out.  He requested Dante and Felicia go with him to Spring Ridge.  Dante said goodbye to Sam and the three of them were on their way.

Esme, still locked away in her tower prison, was singing a song about how her father would come to make Nikolas pay (set to the tune of Jingle Bells), when Nikolas arrived upstairs.  Nikolas asked her about her family.  She changed the subject and instead complained about her accommodations.  She said that it was freezing in the north tower, she had to sleep on linens that were half eaten by moths and that she had no one to talk to.  Nikolas, who had clearly been drinking, said that if she wanted to talk he was listening.  Esme remarked that the only reason Nikolas was there was because he had no one else to talk to, because he had driven away everyone else in his life.  Nikolas exited the room and Esme could be heard taunting and laughing at Nikolas.  Later, he returned with fresh linens from downstairs and what appeared to be a book.  Esme flashed a crooked smile, as if she was back to her old scheming self.  But, Nikolas quickly exited the room, locking her away again.

Nina told Sonny she had been thinking a lot about the people who put their lives on the line for the city every day, she specifically mentioned Rory as having brought her thoughts to a place of remembrance. She then mentioned Nathan and Dante. Sonny thought they should light candles for Nathan and for Dante. Nina thought that was a great idea.

Sasha asked Donna what she had requested from Santa for Christmas. Donna said that she had requested Santa to bring Sasha a happy New Year. Sasha said, “your request to Santa was for me?”  Donna replied that it was. Sasha was touched by the depth of Donna’s kindness, and the two then went for cocoa. Donna asked Sasha if they could have extra marshmallows and Sasha agreed.

At Spring Ridge, Mac showed Ryan the earring and demanded information about it. Dante’s patience for Ryan’s games had grown then and he got in Ryan’s face and shouted that a cop was dead and it was time Ryan started talking. Mac ordered Dante to take a walk. When he was gone, Mac said he knew that Ryan and Esme were connected, so Ryan needed to give her up.

On the side of the road, Josslyn was annoyed that she had no cell service. A car approached and pulled off to assist her and she thanked the person for stopping. When the headlights were out of her eyes, she saw it was Dex. She asked how he knew she was there and Dex replied that he had been following her. Josslyn asked what Sonny would do if he knew they were together.  Dex replied, “What would he do if I left you here on the side of the road?”  Josslyn told Dex that she had finally gotten enough bars to call for a tow truck and that there was no need for him to wait with her, as it was freezing.  Dex gave Josslyn his coat. “If I want you to take your clothes off, you’ll know,” she said.

Dex admitted that he liked how direct Josslyn was, and she assured him that she was fully in touch with all her feelings. He challenged her to be fully honest with how she was feeling at that moment and promised to do the same. The two began a back and forth challenge consisting of single word descriptions of how they were feeling. The interaction got more heated and they grew closer until they passionately kissed. She pulled away as the tow truck arrived. Dex apologized for complicating her life, but she told him he should never apologize for her choices. She walked away from Dex, leaving him standing by the car.

At home, Carly left Josslyn a message to text when she left Trina’s. Just then, the doorbell rang, and Carly was ecstatic to see Avery, who was accompanied by Ava. Ava explained that they were on their way to the Gingerbread Jam, and Avery had wanted to visit. Carly offered to prepare hot cocoa and Ava agreed they had just enough time for Avery to have some before they got underway. Ava said she would wait in her car, but Carly wouldn’t hear of it. She mentioned it being Christmas and insisted Ava come inside. Avery opened a gift of walkie-talkies from Carly, and she ran into another room to test them out. There was an awkward silence between Carly and Ava. Carly asked about Nikolas, and the look on Ava’s face turned cold. Carly mentioned trouble in paradise. Ava said, “ironic, isn’t it?  Right after I scoffed at the troubles in your marriage. Karma is a bitch.”

Ava explained what had happened with Nikolas, and Carly was shocked that he’d cheated on Ava, as she’d thought he was smarter than that. Avery’s voice rang through on the walkie-talkie and Ava responded. She thanked Carly for the gift, and Ava did the same. As Ava and Avery made their way to the door, Carly wished them both a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. She pointedly told Ava she hoped the New Year would be a “fresh start” for them all.

At Rice Plaza, Brook Lynn asked Chase if they could work past their disagreements and Chase said no.  Chase said that she had taken away his agency and “played God” with his life.

Later, Chase and Blaze returned to the stage and began singing “Silent Night” as snow began to fall.

A short while later, Josslyn arrived home, and Carly was surprised to see Dex. Josslyn explained that Dex was filling in for Steve and that she’d had car trouble so Dex had given her a ride home. Carly thanked Dex for his help. Josslyn asked Carly if she had started the movie yet?  She said that she hadn’t and that she was just about to start the popcorn.  Carly wished Dex a Merry Christmas and he did the same. Carly then went to the kitchen to make the popcorn for their movie night. Josslyn thanked Dex again, and he looked up and saw the mistletoe hanging over the door. Later, Josslyn and Carly watched their movie and ate popcorn as Dex walked outside in the snow, thinking about his kiss with Josslyn earlier.

At Portia and Curtis’ house, Trina was surprised to see Spencer at the door, as she’d thought he was leaving town. He replied that he’d realized he’d been wrong about having nothing left for him there. He told her if she didn’t want him there to just say the word and he would leave.  “Shoes off,” Trina demanded as she invited him in.  Spencer took his shoes off and entered.  After coming into Trina’s living room, he complimented the slight excessive decorations. She admitted that her family had tried to cheer her up, and she’d played along like it had worked, but it hadn’t. Spencer liked it, he said that your first year in a new home you have to “go big.”  All she wanted was to wake up and realize that the past few days had been a nightmare. Spencer said it would be more like a few years for him, except he still would have returned to Port Charles, as he wouldn’t have met Trina otherwise.

Spencer expressed sincere sympathy for Trina’s loss, and he took responsibility for Rory’s death, since he was the one who had brought Esme to town. He vowed to help catch Esme by luring her out of hiding. Trina didn’t want Spencer to be bait, and she threatened to tell Jordan. She admitted that the idea had potential, but that it was missing one thing. Spencer asked what that was.  Trina replied, “me.”  Spencer refused, as it was too dangerous. However, Trina suggested that Esme wouldn’t be able to handle it if Trina and Spencer pretended to turn to each other after Rory’s death. “Are you in?” she asked, and they shook hands in agreement. She walked him out into the snow. She brushed some off his face, he smiled and then walked away into the snow.

Update written by Dustin

At Alexis’ house, Alexis had quite a few of her clan gathered together, including Molly, T.J., Christina, Sam, Dante and Spencer. Spencer seemed slightly removed from the group both in proximity and in his state of mind. At one point, everyone went to replenish their drinks. Alexis took this opportunity to engage with  Spencer who had wandered over to the Christmas tree. Alexis asks him what was going on, because he seemed a million miles away. Spencer assured Alexis that he was having fun. Alexis pointed out that for a Cassadine, Spencer was a terrible liar. Reluctantly, Spencer admitted that he had a lot on his mind.

“Am I destined to be like my father?” Spencer asked. Alexis wanted to know what Nikolas had done, Spencer chose his words with the utmost care as he explained that he had discovered some things about Nikolas that Spencer feared would make him seem “bad by association.” Spencer assured Alexis that he wanted a life outside of his family — including Victor — but Spencer was unable to find a way out. “How do I escape my own family?” Spencer asked. “You can’t,” Alexis answered. “But, you can survive them,” she added.

“Okay. How?” Spencer asked. Alexis told Spencer that she and her daughters had chartered their own course and had their own lives. Alexis acknowledged that Victor had a special interest in Spencer, and she advised Spencer to exercise extreme caution because of that interest. “Because this band of psychopathic, murdering megalomaniacs are ours. They are our family and always will be,” Alexis said. “So, basically I’m doomed,” Spencer replied. Alexis smiled and urged Spencer to forge his own path. Do the things that made him happy, the things that made him feel alive. Alexis pointed to her daughters as she reminded Spencer that a person’s genetics don’t necessarily dictate their actions. “Find out what makes you feel good,” Alexis said. She encouraged him to figure out what made him happy and to let it be his guide. Alexis promised that there would come a day when he would be able to forget Victor and Nikolas and live his own life free of their influence.

Elsewhere at the party, Sam scolded Dante for checking his phone. Dante confessed that he had was worried about Cody spending Christmas alone. Sam suggested Dante invite Cody to the Gingerbread Jam at Rice Plaza. Dante asked Sam if he had mentioned that she was the greatest yet that day.  She responded by saying “a few times, but it never gets old.” Moments later, Dante received a text message. Sam grew concerned when she noticed his reaction. Dante assured Sam that the Hook hadn’t struck again, but he admitted that he had to leave for a short time to take care of something.

After Dante left, everyone returned to the living room with plates of pie. Spencer explained that he had to leave and he thanked Alexis for the talk.  It had clearly given him a lot to think about.

At Finn’s apartment, Gregory was so glad that he would be spending Christmas with both of his sons and his granddaughter. Chase admitted that he just didn’t feel into Christmas this year and he offered to leave so as not to be a downer on everyone else’s holiday. Gregory and Finn said absolutely not. When Gregory mentioned Chase canceling the performance at Rice Plaza, Chase accused Brook Lynn of putting herself first. Chase confessed that he had no regrets about backing out of the Gingerbread Jam and leaving Brook Lynn to deal with the fallout. Gregory asked Chase if the whole thing was about revenge. Gregory suggested that just because Brook Lynn hadn’t done the right thing didn’t mean that Chase should do the same thing. Gregory reminded Chase that Chase’s badge had been taken away, not Chase’s moral compass, so Gregory encouraged Chase to right a wrong. Before Chase could reply, there was a knock at the door. It was Dante. Dante explained that he had something to tell Chase and he didn’t think it could wait until after Christmas.

Chase stepped into the hallway for privacy. Dante told him that the review board had agreed to take another look at Chase’s case in the spring when the board reconvened. To Chase’s surprise, Dante credited Brook Lynn for the unprecedented decision. Dante told Chase that somehow Brook Lynn had found a way to get her letter to the board.  “Merry Christmas, partner,” Dante said as he departed to return to Alexis’.

Inside, Violet left the room to go to her bedroom. Gregory took an opportunity to tell Finn how proud he was that he hadn’t let the breakup with Elizabeth affect Violet’s holiday. Gregory told Finn that he didn’t mean to pry into his son’s personal relationship, but that he wanted Finn to know how much Violet cared for her Aunt Elizabeth. Finn admitted that Elizabeth would remain a part of Violet’s life but that he believed he had finally learned his lesson. He told his father that he was just not cut out for love and relationships and that he was going to throw himself into his work and give up on love. Gregory pointed out that he had been given Violet as the result of one of those relationships that he had dubbed as a failure.  He asked if Finn would change that. “Not for a minute,” Finn said. Gregory told Finn that he should probably not throw in the towel just yet.

When Chase reentered the apartment, Gregory and Finn asked why Dante had stopped by. “To deliver a Christmas miracle,” Chase said. Shortly after Chase left, and Gregory, Finn, and Violet settled on the sofa with hot chocolate. Finn handed his father a book, and Gregory began to read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.

At Alexis’ house, Sam opened the front door and happily welcomed Dante back. “There’s no place I’d rather be,” Dante said. On the sofa, Molly and T.J. shared a tender kiss.

At Curtis and Portia’s house, Curtis, Marshall, and Josslyn watched as Portia comforted her daughter. Trina pulled away from her mother and tearfully apologized for ruining everyone’s Christmas, but Josslyn insisted that Trina had nothing to be sorry for. Portia agreed, and she made it clear that she wanted Trina to set the tone for the holiday. Curtis reminded Trina that the holidays were all about family. Trina admitted that she was both sad and scared, but she was also grateful to have her family.

Later, Marshall helped Portia set out snacks. Curtis said that he wanted to celebrate the first Christmas in his new home with Portia. He also pointed out that it was his first Christmas with Marshall in a very long time. Curtis handed gifts to both Portia and Marshall. Portia received a gift card to the Metro Court for a spa day, which she loved. Marshall’s gift was impressed by the music collection that he said was like stepping into a “time machine.”

Trina and Josslyn sat in front of the fireplace as Trina expressed concern about the traffic to Rice Plaza. Josslyn promised to take the back roads. Trina opened up to Josslyn about her feelings surrounding Rory’s death and she admitted that Rory might have ended things with her anyway, but now she would never know.  Trina blamed herself for Rory’s death which Josslyn immediately said was not her fault in any way.  Trina said that if she had not become involved with Rory then he would never have gone to that apartment to try and apprehend the Hook killer.  Josslyn made it clear that the only person responsible for Rory’s death was “the monster who killed him.”

Marshall returned the gift-giving sentiment with Curtis, by giving him a special gift. It was a photograph of Marshall, his wife, Thomas, Curtis, and Stella taken during Curtis’ first Christmas. Marshall explained that the picture had always been a family favorite because Stella was a blur in the photograph because she had not allowed enough delay on the timer to capture the image appropriately. Curtis wished his father a merry Christmas.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Ned, Olivia, Michael, and Willow were seated in the living room as they watched Leo and Wiley each open a gift. Drew and Carly stood nearby. Later, Brook Lynn entered the living room. Brook Lynn was surprised that they had decided to open presents, but Olivia explained that the boys had been given only one gift each to open.

Meanwhile, Michael and Willow sat on the floor with Wiley and told him that he would be getting a baby sister. “I can’t wait,” Wiley said.

At the patio doors, Drew and Carly chatted. Carly was very happy to have time to spend with Michael, Willow and Wiley. The conversation turned to Willow when Carly expressed concern about Willow’s pale complexion. Carly worried that the pregnancy was difficult on Willow. Drew agreed, and he admitted that the news that Denise had shared with them didn’t help matters any.

Drew made it clear that he was determined to find Willow’s birth parents. “You are a man on a mission,” Carly said. Carly advised caution before they offer any more theories to Willow and was concerned how coming up empty handed would affect her pregnancy.  Carly, with an obvious agenda, believed they should keep all information to themselves until it could be confirmed.

In the living room, Michael assured Willow that they would spend many more Christmases together. Willow smiled as Michael wrapped his arms around her and Wiley. A short time later, Carly said her goodbyes to everyone, and Drew walked her out. The minute they were alone on the front steps, Drew pulled Carly into his arms for a kiss. Afterwards, he surprised Carly with a gift. A Jacksonville, Florida keychain.

Carly loved the key chain, and she thanked Drew. However, she was curious about the key attached to it. Drew told her that she would find out soon what the key was all about. He went to kiss her again, but Carly playfully pulled away. “Merry Christmas,” Carly said. Drew smiled as she walked away.

On the way to Rice Plaza, Josslyn jerked the steering wheel of her car as another car blared its horn at her. After rebounding from that, she was blinded by oncoming headlights and she slammed on the brakes.

Young & The Restless Update

Update written by Barbara

Seated at the Glam Club with Noah, Sharon, Mariah and Tessa on Christmas Eve, Nick tells them that as excited as Christian is about Christmas, it was easy to get him to sleep. He adds that Christian is a cakewalk compared to Noah at that age.

As Tessa and Mariah get tipsy from champagne, Tessa tells the group that she and Mariah don’t have to be concerned about driving home because she booked a suite downstairs in the hotel as a holiday surprise for Mariah. The two of them look forward to getting comfortable in the cozy robes the hotel provides.

Once inside their suite and relaxing in the big bed, Mariah gives Tessa an ornament to celebrate their first Christmas as a married couple. Tessa mentions that continuing to add ornaments could become a tradition and hopefully they can add one for their baby’s first Christmas next year.

When Mariah and Tessa wake up on Christmas Day, they realize they’re running late and rush over to Crimson Lights to help Sharon pack the holiday presents and food boxes that Noah will bring to the shelters.

A pregnant woman comes into the coffeehouse asking for help. She tells Sharon, Mariah and Tessa that she needs a tow and her phone is dead, and asks if they can help her. When Sharon asks what happened, she tells her that she hit a patch of ice and skidded into a pole.  Her name is Sonia and she is very upset, and a little dazed. Tessa calls a tow truck, but she’s unable to find one that would be able to get to Crimson Lights in a timely manner.

After being introduced to Mariah and Tessa, Sonia recognizes Tessa from her music and one of her songs that’s playing in the coffeehouse. When Mariah and Tessa ask Sonia about being with her family on Christmas, she tells them that she was driving away from her parents because she hasn’t been getting along with them. She mentions that she was supposed to finish college in the spring and then go to grad school but adds she doesn’t know how that will happen.

When Sonia anxiously says that she doesn’t know if she can be the mom that her baby deserves, especially with all the people out there who can’t wait to be parents. Mariah looks at Tessa, who tells Sonia that it’s a really big decision, but she’s sure Sonia will make the right decision for her and her baby. Mariah tells Sonia,”it’s your story to write; nobody else’s”.

Sonia’s water breaks, followed by contractions, and she goes into labor in the coffeehouse. Mariah tries unsuccessfully to get an ambulance over there on time because the roads are almost impassable.

Sharon calls Elena, who is close by and can get to Crimson Lights. Elena delivers Sonia’s  baby girl. The EMTs finally arrive and get Sonia and the baby ready to go to the hospital with her baby.

Having told Mariah and Tessa that she felt that the universe brought her together with them, Sonia says she feels like she can do anything now that she’s holding her daughter.

In their hotel room on Christmas Morning, Mariah is sitting up in the bed looking serious and upset. When Tessa wakes up and they talk for a few minutes, they realize they both had the same intense dream.

Mariah worries that this is an omen that they might not get what they want, whereas Tessa remains optimistic and suggests that Mariah look for the good parts of the dream. She tells Mariah that they’ll be “kickass moms”.

Mariah and Tessa come into Crimson Lights to greet Sharon and Noah. Sharon observes that they they don’t seem to be their usual effervescent selves, but Mariah assures her that they’re fine.

Then, she and Tessa get texts from Delphine, the potential birth mother they’re supposed to meet after New Year’s. Delphine has sent a sonogram of her baby girl, with a message that says to Mariah and Tessa, “We can’t wait to meet you”.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Gabi makes Mexican wedding cookies at home with her daughter Arianna. Li comes in dressed as Santa Claus but Arianna says he is not Santa.

Stefan finishes a call at the DiMera Mansion as Wendy shows up at the front door. Stefan asks what she is doing here.

Kristen walks through the town square with Rachel and runs in to Chloe. Kristen mentions meeting Brady for lunch. Chloe says she’s going to finish Christmas shopping and remarks that her budget is so much bigger this year after her huge promotion when Kristen got fired. Rachel questions if Chloe got her a present, but then says she doesn’t want anything from her. Chloe wishes Rachel a Merry Christmas anyway. Rachel remarks that she won’t have to see Chloe because she’ll be with her real family.

Brady questions Eric saying that they need to kidnap his daughter. Brady says what he is suggesting is insane. Eric responds that what’s insane is Kristen having Marlena, Kate, and Kayla’s lives in her hands. Brady says he wants to end the blackmail as much as he does. Eric repeats that they need to hit Kristen where she lives and says Rachel is key. Eric points out that Kristen has two weaknesses; Brady and Rachel, so they have to beat her at her own game. Brady argues that it’s not a game since Kristen has the serum to save Marlena, Kayla, and Kate, as well as the orchid to make it and it’s the only one that exists on the planet. Eric questions what if Kristen won’t up the ante and ask him to sleep with her or even marry her. Brady says after they get the next dose, he will be free. Eric doesn’t believe it and guarantees that Kristen will say the women need more shots for the rest of their lives. Eric declares that Kristen has too much power and needs to be stopped. Eric argues that they have to do something now.

Kristen tells Rachel that wasn’t nice and that she needs to be nice to everyone, especially on Christmas, even those who tried to steal what belongs to them. Rachel apologizes to Chloe. Kristen remarks that she, Rachel, and Brady are a family again. Rachel says that’s what she wanted most for Christmas. Kristen tells her that wishes do come true. Rachel asks when she will get her whole wish. Kristen tries to tell her they will talk about it later but Rachel points out in front of Chloe that Brady and Kristen aren’t married and don’t even sleep in the same room

Wendy tells Stefan that she came to see Johnny as she heard what happened at his grandmother’s memorial service, so she wanted to see if he was okay. Stefan responds that Johnny hasn’t come down from his room, so he’s assuming that he’s still asleep. Wendy guesses he must be exhausted after everything he’s been through. Wendy asks Stefan to just tell Johnny that she stopped by. Stefan stops her and informs her that he has left her several messages but hasn’t heard back from her. Stefan questions if she’s avoiding him. Wendy claims she’s just been super busy. Stefan asks if she has time to talk now about her little jaunt to Jakarta.

Li tells Arianna that she’s right, he’s not Santa, he’s his helper. Arianna acknowledges him as Li and calls him lame. Arianna tells Gabi that she’s been through this before with her boyfriends putting on a show to try to get her to like them, listing off Chad, Stefan, and Jake. Gabi tells her that she’s being very rude. Arianna informs Li that she’s too old to believe in Santa. Li says he’s a lot older than her and he’s still a believer, but if she’s not, then he guesses he should send all her presents back to the North Pole which causes a look of concern from Arianna.

Roman finds Kate at a table at the Brady Pub and asks her what’s wrong. Kate claims she’s fine but Roman tells her to talk to him. Kate reminds him that it’s the time of year when they had to send her son Philip away. Kate thought he would’ve progressed and released soon but when she called the hospital, they wouldn’t even let her talk to him because he had a major setback. Kate adds that the prison had a viral outbreak so Lucas can’t have any visitors. Kate says it’s bad enough that her kids aren’t with her on Christmas, but being cut off from the ones that need her the most is intolerable. Roman asks what he can do. Kate thanks him but says what matters most on Christmas is being with family. Kate guesses when Will called to say he was staying in California, it was a sign of things to come. Roman encourages that Allie is here so he offers to invite her and Henry over. Kate says she’s busy with Chanel and Paulina. Roman assures that she’d love to see her but Kate says not to do all that and that she just misses her family. Roman and Kate’s son Rex then arrives and surprises Kate, who excitedly greets him with a hug. Kate says this is so great and a surprise as she thought he had to stay in Chicago. Rex explains that he convinced his supervisor that he had more important work to do here as the FDA asked him to provide follow up data on the experimental drug they gave Kate a few months ago, to know that it’s safe. Kate points out that it saved her life. Roman asks what kind of data they are looking for. Rex says it’s just simple blood work. Roman asks if they have to worry about Kate’s health. Rex says it’s just a formality and that he has everything in his bag, so they could just knock it out right now. Kate asks what if she refuses.

Kristen sends Rachel to join her friend at the hot chocolate stand. Chloe questions Kristen about her and Brady being back together but not sleeping in the same room. Kristen claims they are just taking things slow, but getting more intimate each day. Chloe says that’s not the impression she got from Rachel. Kristen informs Chloe that Rachel wasn’t there when Brady planted a kiss on Sister Mary Moira because he thought she was her. Chloe asks if she’s saying that a nun got more action than she ever will. Kristen says that Brady is letting his guard down and it’s clear that he wants her. Kristen adds that she asked Brady what would happen next if it was her that he kissed. Kristen says the heat was off the charts and that they would’ve made love right then on the couch if John hadn’t walked in and ruined everything. Kristen assures that there will be another moment soon as she plans to ring in the New Year in Brady’s bed.

Brady tells Eric that everything he’s saying makes perfect sense except the part where he kidnaps his own daughter. Brady refuses to put Rachel through that kind of trauma. Eric argues that she’ll never know as they will let her believe that he’s going on a fun vacation with Uncle Eric. Eric says Rachel will have fun, Kristen will lose her mind, and then Rachel wil be home and they will have saved lives.

Wendy tells Stefan that they already talked about Jakarta the other day. Stefan feels they need to have their own separate conversation since she works for DiMera. Stefan understands it was Johnny’s idea but states that Wendy agreeing to it was egregiously irresponsible of her. Wendy responds that she knows what she did was wrong and she feels terrible about it. Stefan questions if she thought Li signing off on the expenses would lead to him not finding out how deceptive she had been. Stefan says being young and in love is great but he can’t understand putting her career and professional standing at risk, unless there’s another reason that she was in Jakarta.

Li gives Arianna a luck bracelet and talks about how lucky he will be to marry Gabi and also have Arianna in his life. Arianna acknowledges that she will have three dads and says that is special. Gabi declares that she’s the luckiest person in the world. Arianna hugs Li and thanks him for her gift. Gabi proclaims that this is going to be the best Christmas ever. Arianna plans to wear her bracelet to the wedding and says if it will bring her luck, she will wear it every day. Li brings up that New Year’s weddings are considered lucky in China. Arianna asks if Gabi will change her last name when they get married since Will and Sonny did not. Gabi is not sure and says she needs to think about it. Gabi mentions that Sonny will be there soon to pick her up and asks if she’s packed. Arianna says that she just needs to make sure her new bracelet matches all her outfits and goes to pack. Li tells Gabi that he doesn’t expect her to take his last name. Gabi talks about becoming a DiMera when she married Stefan and staying one when she thought he was dead, but now they are divorced and hate each other’s guts, so she can’t wait to feel like her own person again. Gabi asks how Gabriela Hernandez-Shin sounds. Li calls it perfect as they kiss.

Wendy asks Stefan what else she would have been doing in Jakarta. Johnny then comes downstairs and in to the living room. Johnny asks Wendy what she’s doing there. Wendy tells him that she was worried about him after the explosion. Johnny assures that he’s fine and apologizes for not calling her. Johnny says he’s also sorry that Stefan is giving her the third degree about their trip to Jakarta. Johnny tells Stefan that he was being impulsive and wanted to impress Wendy. Stefan asks if it did impress her. Wendy assures that it did and asks who wouldn’t be impressed. Johnny says now that his stellar first impression has been made, he can promise it won’t happen again. Stefan warns him to see that it doesn’t as he then exits the room.

Rex questions Kate not wanting him to draw her blood. Kate points out that she hasn’t had any setbacks, side effects, or any issues. Rex says that’s why he needs her blood to prove the drug is safe and it will also get the FDA off his back and allow him to keep his medical license. Kate then gives in and agrees to do it.

Chloe tells Kristen that it sounds like a lot of wishful thinking to her. Chloe knows that when it comes to Brady, she is completely deluded. Kristen questions why she cares so much since Chloe moved on from Brady in two seconds. Kristen says she hears things are getting serious with Chloe and Stefan, mentioning that they are jetting off to Miami for the New Year. Chloe questions who told her that. Kristen says it doesn’t matter but if all goes well, maybe this time next year she’ll be her sister in law and they’ll all be at the holiday table. Chloe bets that this time next year, Kristen will be back in prison for her countless felonies. Kristen argues that Brady knows she’s changed and that she makes him incredibly happy. Chloe asks why Brady stood her up for lunch then. Kristen claims he’s just running late. Chloe says she can tell herself that and advises Kristen to keep an eye on her daughter because she’s wandering off. Chloe remarks that given who her mother is, she can’t blame her. Kristen says she takes back what she said to Rachel about being nice on Christmas. Chloe states that she’d rather die than be across the holiday table from her. Kristen says that’s duly noted and walks away.

Brady tells Eric that he’s sorry but he’s not kidnapping his daughter on Christmas. Eric suggests doing it after then but Brady says it’s not happening ever. Eric questions letting Kristen torture him while Marlena, Kayla, and Kate relapse and possibly die. Brady reminds Eric that Kristen said she would supply the additional doses. Eric asks what if she doesn’t. Eric questions how long he’s going to rely on psycho to do the right thing or if he’s finally going to take control of his own life again for all of them. Brady questions who knew Eric could be so ruthless. Eric says he’s gotten nowhere in years, so he’s tired of being the victim and a doormat. Eric brings up Kristen raping and drugging him, so he has no obligation to show any mercy to her and they need to play hard ball. Eric asks if Brady is in or out.

Gabi thanks Li for being amazing with Arianna. Li says his father is not exactly the warm and fuzzy type, so he promised to be different with his children. Gabi mentions that they hadn’t really discussed if he wants kids of his own since she can’t have any more. Li tells her that she, Will, and Sonny are raising an amazing child, so being Arianna’s stepdad is all he needs. Arianna comes back in and asks about the cookies. Li points out that Gabi made some and he made some, so Arianna asks to test them to see which she likes better. Arianna declares that Li’s is the winner.

Johnny asks Wendy if she thinks Stefan is suspicious about why they went to Jakarta. Wendy responds that he’s definitely not happy that they went. Wendy admits she could hardly focus on a word he was saying because she felt so guilty about keeping this secret from him. Johnny says he’s right there with her. Wendy says she wanted to just blurt out that Dr. Rolf brainwashed Stefan in to hating Gabi, but he loves her. Wendy adds that telling Stefan that could change his whole life. Johnny points out that it would ruin EJ and Li’s lives. Wendy brings up that Li is marrying Gabi next week and part of her is excited because Li is so excited, but she can’t stop thinking about how none of this would be happening if Stefan knew how he really felt about Gabi.

Stefan joins Chloe in the town square. Chloe mentions running in to Kristen but says she doesn’t want to waste another minute talking about her.

Eric tells Brady that Kristen plays God with people’s lives and it’s wrong. Brady questions if kidnapping isn’t. Eric says he would only do it if Brady signed off on it. Kristen then comes home with Rachel and asks if they are interrupting.

Rex takes Kate’s blood and says she did great. Rex is grateful she’s doing so well and says he will run the samples to the hospital. Rex tells Kate and Roman that he loves them and exits. Kate asks Roman if he knew Rex was coming home. Roman admits he had no idea. Kate says she couldn’t be more happy. Roman mentions that Caroline always said family love is warmer at Christmas. Kate knows she said she was missing family, but says they have the family they are born in to and the family they chose. Kate is happy that they chose to be together again after all these years. Roman talks about never giving up on Kate and getting married when she was on her deathbed while now they are in it for the long haul as they kiss.

After Arianna leaves, Gabi tells Li that she can get started on wrapping presents. Li wants his reward for winning the cookie tasting contest, so they start kissing until Gabi gets a call from the seamstress about Arianna’s dress for the wedding. Gabi questions her and hangs up, then gets upset about it and storms out.

Stefan gives Chloe her Christmas present since she will be in New York tomorrow. Chloe thought they would wait until they were in Miami. Stefan explains that this one is time sensitive so Chloe opens it and it’s center stage opera tickets to Amahl and the Night Visitors. Chloe questions how he got these when it’s been sold out for months. Stefan calls it Christmas magic. Chloe calls it a wonderful and thoughtful gift, but notes that there are five tickets. Stefan explains that it’s for Chloe, Nancy, Parker, and Joy while the fifth could be for Mike if Nancy wants to take a date or Craig, or if they have plans then Chloe can take him. Chloe questions Stefan not having plans in Salem. Stefan jokes about the dysfunctional DiMeras. Stefan thought they could spend Christmas in New York with her family and then fly down to Miami. Chloe points out that this is his first Christmas since coming back from the dead. Stefan responds that being in the DiMera Mansion after everything that happened at Susan’s memorial service might be a little too much. Stefan adds that if Chloe doesn’t want him tagging along, she can just say the word.

Brady says he and Eric were just discussing their holiday plans. Rachel runs up and hugs Eric, asking him about what he got her for Christmas. Kristen reminds Brady that he was supposed to meet them for lunch. Brady says he got to talking to Eric and lost track of time, but that she could’ve texted him. Kristen informs him that they had an unpleasant interaction with Chloe, so they decided to come home. Kristen tells Brady about Chloe and Stefan going off to Miami for New Year’s. Brady turns and exchanges looks with Eric.

Wendy tells Johnny that they can try to rationalize it but deep down, they know what is happening is wrong. Johnny argues that they agreed to keep quiet because they don’t want to hurt EJ and Li. Wendy is still sick over what they did in brainwashing Stefan. Johnny knows it’s a big secret to keep. Wendy points out that now they are lying by saying they went to Jakarta because they are romantically involved. Wendy says EJ and Li know the truth, but everyone else thinks they are dating. Johnny guesses there’s no reason to pretend any longer and suggests they could fake break up.

Chloe questions Stefan not minding dealing with her crazy family. Stefan says it will be a blast, so Chloe says she would love for him to come to New York with her. Stefan thanks her and says he’s excited to see Parker again. Stefan mentions getting him a gift too which Chloe calls very thoughtful of him. Chloe thanks him and they start kissing right as Gabi and Li walk up and see them.

Kate tells Roman that she had sent all of Rex’s Christmas presents to Chicago. Roman says seeing her healthy is the only gift he needs. Kate insists that everyone needs presents on Christmas and that some special people get to open some on Christmas Eve as she gives Roman an envelope. Kate notes that he has others but this is the big one. Roman opens the envelope which is a trip to Zurich to see Austin, Carrie, and Noah. Kate thought he would be happy. Roman reveals that he loves it, so much that he got her the exact same thing.

Rachel shows Eric the mistletoe that she made at school for Brady and Kristen. Rachel says if they stand under it, they have to kiss. Eric points out that’s only if it’s a real mistletoe. Rachel says nobody told her that, so now she has to go find a real mistletoe and leaves the room. Eric remarks that Kristen sure trained her well. Kristen argues that it’s only natural for a child to want their parents together and claims she hasn’t done anything to encourage it. Eric doesn’t believe that for a second. Kristen asks if Eric doesn’t have enough to deal with in his own love life to be butting in to their love life. Brady clarifies that they do not have a love life. Kristen argues that they are getting closer every day and becoming a family again. Kristen knows family means everything to Brady and he’d never want to do anything to let them down…

Wendy questions Johnny suggesting they fake break up and asks if he means pretending they don’t like each other anymore. Johnny says they’ll have to stage a couple fights to make it believable in front of Allie, Chanel, Stefan, and Gabi. Wendy responds that she doesn’t want to do that and thinks it would be easier to just keep doing what they are doing now. Johnny agrees and then gets Wendy a Christmas present. Wendy feels bad as she didn’t get anything for him. Johnny explains that he was just walking by the other day, saw this, and it reminded her of him. Johnny says most of what he told Stefan was not true, but he is a little impulsive at times and maybe he did want to impress her a little bit. Wendy opens it and it’s a wrap shawl which Johnny helps her put on as they get close.

Stefan and Chloe continue kissing until noticing Gabi and Li walk up. Gabi says they have a wedding attire emergency to attend to. Chloe points out that next time they see them, they will be husband and wife. Li notes that the wedding isn’t until next week. Stefan explains that they are flying to New York tonight and then to Miami. Gabi remarks that it’s too bad they won’t be there to see them become man and wife, but she’s sure there will be plenty of pictures online so they can see what they missed. Chloe congratulates them and says they wish them the best. Gabi and Li then walk off.

Kate tells Roman that great minds think alike and at least their gifts didn’t cancel each other out and shows how much they love each other. Kate decides they will just take two trips to Zurich, Roman likes the idea as they kiss until Rex returns to the Pub. Kate asks Rex if she has a clean bill of health. Rex points out that it’s the holidays so they won’t have the results for a few days. Kate guesses if she has to worry all through Christmas. Rex assures that everything is fine. Roman then calls for egg nog and declares that they have a lot to celebrate so they are starting now.

Brady tells Kristen that she knows he would never let his family down. Kristen remarks that his loyalty is more critically important than they will ever know. Kristen then goes to check on Rachel. Eric asks Brady if he still wants to tell him that Kristen won’t put the screws to him before turning over the orchid and that’s if she does. Eric warns that Kristen is going to have them under her thumb until they do something about it. Brady then hates to admit it but Rachel is the best leverage he’s got, so he has to use it. Eric promises that Rachel will be safe the entire time and assures this will be the best thing for her too. Brady then agrees to do it.

Update written by Barbara

Sitting on a bench sipping coffee, Sally listens as Nick tells her how inquisitive Christian has become about Santa Claus. She opens up about her childhood and what it was like growing up with parents who were carnival workers, traveling from small town to small town, sleeping in tents and basically being nomads. She also tells him that her parents eventually abandoned her and her sister, Coco, and they were raised by their “grams.” She mentions that she is named after her great aunt, Sally, who was a legend in the fashion world.

Nick hangs on her every word and is sad for what Sally experienced. She lets him know that she does not feel sorry for herself because her past made her “scrappy”. As snow begins to fall, Nick puts his arm around her and they kiss.  After taking another sip of her coffee, Sally has an uncomfortable look on her face and says that the coffee isn’t agreeing with her. When Nick goes to throw away their cups, she puts her hands around her stomach.

Billy brings Johnny over to Chelsea’s apartment so Johnny can exchange Christmas gifts with her. Connor comes out of his bedroom, the boys start to talk video gaming, and Johnny offers to help Connor get to the next level of what they’ve been playing.

Adam shows up because he is going out to dinner with Connor and Chelsea. Connor invites Johnny to join them. Billy is hesitant about letting him go so Chelsea suggests that Billy come along.  Billy turns down Chelsea’s invitation, but Johnny says he hopes he can still go since he’s helping Connor master a video game. Billy fine with it and gives permission for Johnny to go out to dinner with Connor, Chelsea and Adam.

While the boys put on their jackets, Adam lets Billy know that he knows his sister well enough to be aware that she will not be on board with letting Johnny spend time with Chelsea.

Turns out Adam is right about Victoria because when Billy tells her that Johnny is going out to dinner with his bio mom, Connor and Adam, she freaks. Billy says he doesn’t see anything harmful about the situation because they agreed to let Johnny take the lead and this is what he wants.

Victoria remains very uneasy, so Billy takes her over to Society, where Johnny is enjoying himself, laughing and having fun with Connor, Chelsea and Adam.

Chelsea invites Billy and Victoria to join them, and Adam pulls up another chair.

At the Abbott house, Daniel stops by with Christmas presents and enjoys spending time with his sister and Kyle.  He asks what they’re doing for the holiday season and all they tell him is that that they’re having a Christmas “adventure” with Harrison.

Daniel opens up about the deal he made with Chancellor-Winters to develop up a gaming platform with the company. When asked about Heather and Lucy, Daniel remains mum about what has happened between them.

Back at his suite, Daniel is unable to concentrate with work on his laptop so he opens the mini bar and gets one of the tiny bottles of alcohol and swigs it down. He sits down on the bed and watches the snow fall outside the window, looking sad and lonely. It doesn’t last long, though because there’s a knock on the door. When Daniel opens it, his father, Danny is standing there and they share a warm embrace.

When Kyle, Summer and Harrison arrive at the cabin, Diane is nowhere to be found. She eventually returns, mentioning that she wanted to go for a walk in the snow. Harrison calls out “DiDi” and races over to her excitedly. Diane is in seventh heaven being able to spend the evening decorating the Christmas tree that Harrison picked out. Kyle tells Harrison that putting a star on the top of the tree is a tradition and a special honor. Harrison is enthused so Kyle lifts him up so he can put the star  on the top of the tree.

Back at Jeremy’s hotel suite, he expresses his anger toward Jack because he thinks that Jack may have led him on a wild goose chase to find Diane. Jack covers and chalks it up to Diane simply being very good at disappearing.

He starts urging Jeremy to take the cash he is offering him, but Jeremy refuses. This causes Jack to double the offer up to a million dollars and promise to get the remainder to Jeremy the day after Christmas. Jeremy appears to capitulate, telling Jack that he will keep the $500,000 and stay in Genoa City long enough to get the other half. Jack makes a point of mentioning the importance of taking the full million and staying out of prison.

After Jack leaves and Jeremy is alone, he grins slyly , while Jack has a look of discomfort as he walks down the hallway to leave the hotel.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

John brings Marlena breakfast in bed and wishes her a Merry Christmas Eve. Marlena thanks him for spoiling her. John notes that she tossed and turned all night. Marlena tells him that last night when the explosion happened at the chapel, she was thinking about Kristen and then she woke up this morning and realized Kristen is living here with them. Marlena remarks that they are all just pretending that everything is fine and normal. Marlena says being Christmas makes it even worse as she doesn’t understand what is going on with Kristen and why Brady is going along with it. John feels like he got a little closer to Kristen when he told her that they got in a big fight. Marlena complains that it didn’t get them anything and she’s not sure how much more of this she can take. John feels the same after having to praise what a big heart she has. John says that made him want to throttle Kristen, so he can only imagine what Brady feels like.

Kristen joins Brady in the living room and holds mistletoe over him but Brady says no. Kristen hoped this would be the start of a Christmas cease fire. Brady responds that Christmas doesn’t take away from the fact that she’s still blackmailing him and she’s threatening the lives of three women. Kristen argues that those three women owe her their lives. Kristen asks why he can’t see it from her point of view. Kristen says she saved them from death but everyone in this house except Rachel treats her like an interloper.

EJ brings Nicole breakfast in bed. Nicole complains about the time and says she should’ve been up already. EJ tells her that he and Holly thought it was best for her to get a good night’s sleep. Nicole points out that it’s Christmas Eve. EJ assures that Holly is having a good time helping with Christmas cookies. Nicole thanks EJ for everything. EJ notes that he heard her cry out in her sleep and asks if she wants to talk about her nightmare. Nicole responds that she doesn’t remember it. EJ asks if it was about Eric.

Eric wakes up in bed with Sloan, who is typing on her laptop next to him. Sloan comments that it’s about time he wakes up. Eric jokes that he’s officially unemployed, so he can sleep in as long as he wants. Sloan tells him that she has coffee and he might need it before she tells him what she just read online. Eric asks her to tell him. Sloan doesn’t know how to break it to him, but informs him of the explosion. Eric reveals that he already knows and that Marlena and Nicole are fine. Sloan questions him just showing up at her doorstep last night and not saying a thing about it. Eric responds that they had other things on their mind.

Abe joins Paulina in the interrogation room at the police station. Paulina shows him a picture from Chanel’s first Christmas but notes that she wasn’t there for Lani’s. Paulina starts to cry but says that won’t help anything. Abe brings her a box of Christmas cookies from Chanel and Allie. Paulina asks why they sent them here when she’ll be out in a couple of hours. Paulina asks about the bail hearing but Abe reveals that there is not going to be one today. Abe says that Melinda stalled so the court adjourned yesterday until after the holidays. Abe knows it’s a disappointment. Paulina calls it not a surprise. Paulina says she has faith in Belle but Melinda is pure evil by making her miss Christmas with her family out of pure spite. Paulina declares that she’s not going to just sit here and do nothing. Paulina brings up Stephanie’s statement announcing that she will not be sworn in as Governor. Abe says it still needs some work but Paulina accuses him of stalling because he doesn’t want her to do it, but says it’s the only way to ensure that Abe remains Mayor and that’s all she wants for Christmas. Abe tells her that she doesn’t have to do any of that. Paulina demands that the statement be put out now and remarks that Sloan is going to have her revenge on her after all.

Sloan asks Eric about Ava blowing up the church to seek revenge on EJ and jokes that she sounds like her type of gal. Eric points out that Ava was willing to risk innocent people dying. Eric mentions that Marlena is fine, but she did tell him that Nicole was hurt. Eric talks about how horrible they can be to each other when they are hurt. Eric brings up that Nicole was horrible to Jada, but when he heard Nicole was hurt, he ran over to the hospital and questions what he was thinking.

Nicole tells EJ that seeing Eric at the hospital last night was unexpected with how they ended things. EJ tells her that Eric was guilty and knows he was wrong as Jada didn’t have an abortion just because Nicole had a conversation with her. EJ tells Nicole not to read too much in to last night. EJ insists that Eric is not pining for her and how quick he jumped in to bed with Sloan should tell her that. Nicole sarcastically thanks him for reminding her. EJ states that Eric has moved on and tells Nicole to just let him.

Brady tells Kristen that Marlena hasn’t thanked her for saving her life because she doesn’t know that she did since they couldn’t tell her because then she would find out that she only did it to get in to his house. Kristen argues that it doesn’t change the fact that Marlena is alive thanks to her. Kristen warns Brady about how he talks to her since Marlena will need another dose to keep her alive and she’s the only person who knows where that life saving orchid is. Rachel then walks in and asks Kristen what an orchid is and why they are life saving.

John tells Marlena that the closest he got to Kristen was right after insisting that she was a good person at heart and she genuinely seemed moved by that, but before he could get any further, she had to go pick up Rachel. Marlena says they can’t afford to lose that momentum. Marlena adds that she thinks things have gotten more urgent which John questions. Marlena explains to John how Sister Mary Moira told her about Brady kissing her because he thought she was Kristen in disguise. Marlena talks about Brady always having feelings for Kristen and now they are living together and raising Rachel together, so she worries that the clock is ticking.

Kristen tells Rachel that orchids are beautiful flowers and some scientists make them in to medicine. Rachel questions why they are arguing about them. Brady says he was just telling Kristen how much he wanted to get one for Christmas and how it could be life changing. Rachel responds that what she wants for Christmas is for Kristen and Brady to get back together forever. Kristen asks what Brady says about that.

EJ points out that Nicole hasn’t touched her breakfast, but says it’s obvious that the church explosion is still weighing on her. EJ thinks she might need something to get her mind off of things and he might have the diversion to do the trick. EJ then pulls out his phone and plays a voicemail from Sister Mary Moira that she left before leaving town, where she blamed EJ bringing Nicole for the church explosion and said that it was God sending a warning. EJ and Nicole laugh about it together. Nicole jokes that being blamed for almost killing everyone was just the distraction she needed as they laugh together.

Sloan tells Eric that she’d be fine if they never spent another minute dwelling on one of his exes but she thinks it’s okay to have compassion for someone who nearly died. Eric says that getting Nicole out of his head is not something he wants, but something he needs. Sloan responds that satisfying his needs has become one of her specialties but she could always use more practice as they start kissing.

Abe thinks Paulina is rushing in to this, pointing out that she still hasn’t talked to Chanel. Abe says Chanel and Allie spent so much time on her campaign. Paulina insists they will understand that this is about protecting Abe, which was part of her vows 6 months ago. Abe still thinks she’s rushing in to this. Paulina loves him for what he’s doing and she wishes there was another way out but there’s not. Paulina asks for Abe’s phone and says she will tell Stephanie herself to release the statement. Abe still thinks that Chanel deserves to hear it before it hits the wires.

Allie and Chanel sit together at home. Chanel comments on not getting a good night’s sleep and says she can’t stop thinking about how much she hates Sloan Peterson for what she did to Paulina. Chanel says it’s Christmas Eve and now Paulina will probably have to spend the entire holiday in jail. Chanel adds that she should be behind bars, not Paulina. Allie suggests they go there, like they did for Thanksgiving when Chanel was arrested. Chanel loves the idea and says they will cook for Paulina as she then kisses Allie.

Brady tells Rachel that he knows it’s what she wants and he wants to make her happy, but she needs to trust that they are doing what they think is best for her as he hugs her.

Chanel and Allie go through cookbooks to plan what to cook for Paulina. Chanel then gets a text from Abe and tells Allie that Sloan Peterson has done it again.

Eric tells Sloan that he can’t believe it’s already Christmas Eve and asks if she has any plans. Sloan responds that she stopped making plans when she lost her parents and her brother lives a million miles away. Eric says he’s sorry and mentions that his mom hosts a great Christmas Eve party at her place and tomorrow, his dad hosts Christmas at the Brady Pub. Eric asks if Sloan is not interested. Sloan asks if that’s really them and reminds him they are keeping this low key. Eric realizes he just invited her home to meet his family and apologizes, saying it’s a force of habit. Sloan thanks him for worrying about her holiday but says she got her Christmas wish this year because Paulina Price is behind bars.

Paulina finishes her call and informs Abe that all major news outlets will have the statement within the hour. Abe worries that it’s going to be a long time before he can make up this sacrifice to her. Paulina says he will do so just by being himself and calls him the most wonderful man she’s ever met. Abe doesn’t want to leave her alone tonight. Abe jokes that he’ll commit a minor crime and they can lock him up in the cell next to her. Abe then gets a call from Belle, who asks to speak to Paulina, so Abe hands her the phone. Paulina is shocked and asks Belle to repeat what she said.

John questions Marlena thinking that Brady still has feelings for Kristen. Marlena calls it a very strong attraction and they know he’s fighting those feelings, but she’s afraid of what might happen if he loses that battle. John decides they are going to have to pivot and come up with a new way to find out what Kristen is hiding. Marlena is afraid that Kristen will see right through them. John points out that Kristen is completely alone and may be anxious to reel Brady back in, but when she’s that isolated, she will take the first friend that comes along.

Kristen tells Rachel that she is going to take her to the town square to look at the Christmas decorations. Rachel asks if Brady will come. Brady says he has to work. Kristen suggests he meet them for lunch afterwards which Brady agrees to. Rachel goes to get her coat to get ready. Kristen tells Brady that he’s breaking Rachel’s heart by not giving her what she wants most in the world. Kristen argues that Brady could stop hating her so much and love his daughter just a little bit more.

Nicole and EJ continue to laugh about Sister Mary Moira’s voicemail. EJ wonders if Ava’s breakdown in the hospital was real as he admits he has his doubts. EJ asks if Nicole has a fix for his guilty feelings. Nicole asks what he feels guilty about. EJ says he put Nicole in harm’s way as his horrible miscalculation about Ava helped lead to yesterday’s disaster. EJ adds that his mother is dead because of how he handled the kidnapping and he almost lost Nicole. EJ states that he couldn’t blame Nicole if she never wanted to speak to him again. Nicole assures it was neither of their faults and 100 percent Ava’s fault. Nicole tells EJ not to beat himself up for it for another minute.

Allie questions Chanel saying that Paulina just gave up on being Governor. Chanel gets that Paulina wanted to protect Abe but complains that the whole thing just seems so unfair and keeps getting worse and worse. Abe then shows up at their door. Chanel says she got his text and can’t believe Paulina is doing this. Abe says he tried to talk her out of it. Chanel knows nobody talks Paulina out of anything. Chanel invites Abe in and says that she and Allie decided to make Paulina a Christmas Eve dinner to take down there. Chanel then questions why Abe isn’t coming in. Abe then steps aside and surprises them by bringing in Paulina. Chanel rushes to her and they excitedly embrace.

Sloan remarks to Eric that she’s sure Paulina is feeling very sorry for herself behind bars this holiday. Sloan wonders if Paulina or Chanel ever thought once about all the holidays they ruined for her. Sloan guesses Eric thinks she should’ve turned the other cheek. Eric feels bad for what she went through. Sloan knows Eric is friends with Paulina so she doesn’t expect him to come fight her battles, but says she just needs to vent every now and then. Eric remembers that Sloan listened to him rant more than once. Sloan suggests changing the subject and asks what they are doing for New Year’s Eve. Sloan then gets a call that upsets her. Sloan thanks them for letting her know and hangs up. Eric asks if everything is okay. Sloan responds that everything is not okay. Sloan says she’s sorry to kick him out like this, but she has to go deal with something right now.

Paulina calls her mom and tells her it’s all over; she and Chanel are free and being extradited. Paulina says she thinks her mom’s prayers did it. Paulina says she has to go but will call her later for a nice long chat. Paulina adds that she will get down on her knees and thank the Lord. Paulina says she loves her and hangs up. Paulina says her mom was so scared for them. Chanel repeats that it’s all over now. Allie asks if they are really free. Paulina confirms that Belle went to London and challenged them over every technical issue she could find and she won. Abe confirms the charges are dismissed and Melinda can’t hold Paulina anymore. Abe declares that this whole nightmare is officially over as they hug.

Marlena suggests to John that they take a step back. Marlena wonders if it’s possible that they overcomplicated this whole thing. Marlena asks what if John told Kristen that they had another terrible fight and their marriage is on the verge of falling apart. John doesn’t think he could pull it off and talks about how hard it was to make Kristen believe that he was upset with her in the first place. John brings up that it’s the holidays and he almost lost Marlena twice this year, so the last thing he wants to do is tell anyone they are fighting even if it’s not true. John tells Marlena that she makes him happy and proud, and like he’s the luckiest man on earth as they kiss.

Brady questions if Kristen is saying he’s a bad dad now and calls her a hypocrite for telling him to put family first, while she plays with Rachel’s grandmother’s health. Brady states that he loves Rachel with his whole heart, but he loves Marlena too and that’s the only reason Kristen is in this house. Rachel comes back in and says she’s ready, then asks if they were still talking about orchids. Kristen leaves with Rachel and then Eric shows up. Brady and Eric wish each other a Merry Christmas. Eric says he wanted to see how Marlena was doing. Brady says she’s okay and that John has been keeping a close eye on her. Eric says that’s great but admits that’s not the only reason he’s here. Eric tells Brady that he meant what he said about Kristen’s blackmail. Eric declares that it’s up to them to put a stop to her which means they have to come up with a plan now.

Kristen brings Rachel to the town square. They look at the Christmas tree, which Rachel says Brady would love. Rachel wishes Brady joined them. Kristen encourages Rachel to never give up on her dreams because they are the most important thing they have.

EJ tells Nicole that she’s right that it’s Christmas Eve, so they don’t need to talk about his guilt. EJ helps Nicole with her food since she has her arm in a sling from the explosion and they end up touching hands and getting close.

Abe, Paulina, Allie, and Chanel have champagne. Paulina announces that she realized being Governor means moving to the capitol and she loves Salem. Paulina declares that Salem is where they belong and they are going to focus on all their many blessings to have a very Merry Christmas.

Nicole tells EJ that she should get ready for the day because she hasn’t even seen Holly and she has to wrap presents and plan surprises, so she has to take a shower. EJ points out what a challenge showering will be with her arm in a sling. EJ jokes that he could give her a hand. Nicole thinks he’s helped enough today and thanks him. EJ jokes that it’s her loss. EJ knows the circumstances for her coming here were not ideal, but he’s happy that she and Holly are here for Christmas because the house needs them to brighten it up which they have done so. EJ then exits the room.

Abe declares that they finally got the Christmas miracle they have all been waiting for. Sloan shows up at the door. Paulina questions what she is doing there. Sloan says they must be enjoying themselves with a holiday toast like nothing happened while two people are dead. Sloan tells Paulina that she may have managed to escape prosecution, but warns that she will pay if it’s the last thing she does.

John kisses Marlena. Marlena thought they were urgently making a plan to get rid of Kristen but John says other things are more urgent as they continue kissing.

Kristen tells Rachel that she knows how much her wish for her and Brady means to her, but she can’t make any promises though she doesn’t want her to give up on them. Kristen says maybe they will both get what they want most someday. Kristen reminds Rachel that until then, nobody is more important to her and Brady than she is. Kristen hugs Rachel.

Brady tells Eric that if he has any good ideas, he’s all ears. Eric talks about seeing a family of three together in the town square on his way over. Eric says they need to hit Kristen where she lives if they plan on getting the orchid back from her. Eric then tells Brady that they need to kidnap his daughter.

Update written by Dustin

At Carly’s house, Dex and Josslyn continued to talk. Cameron texted Josslyn to ask if she was okay. Josslyn ignored the text. Dex apologized for causing problems in their relationship. Josslyn asked what Dex had to be sorry about. She said that she was the problem in her relationship with Cameron, and that she should have already spoken to Cameron about her feelings. Before Dex left, he asked if Josslyn was sorry that they had kissed. She looked at him and smiled, choosing not to answer. “Yeah, me, neither,” Dex said.

At Volonino’s Gym, Sam told Cody that Dante hadn’t come home the previous night. She told Cody that she had communicated with him via text, but that she was concerned about Dante and how he was dealing with Rory’s death, since Dante had been the first person on the scene.

At General Hospital, Mac told Dante that an autopsy report had confirmed that venom had been found in Rory’s bloodstream. Dante said, “So, it’s official.  We have a serial killer on our hands.”

Mac’s phone rang and he was surprised to see that it was Cody.  Cody told Mac that he was with Sam and that she was concerned about how Dante was doing. He asked if Mac knew where Dante was.  Mac said that he was standing right next to him and the two cooked up a plan to get Dante to the gym.

Later, Mac and Dante appeared at the gym, and Dante quickly deduced that Mac and Cody had teamed up to get Dante to the gym. Mac thanked Cody for having helped reunite Dante with Sam. Cody asked how Mac was doing in the aftermath of Rory’s death. Mac said that it was always difficult to lose a brother in the line of duty.  Mac started to leave and Cody said that he wouldn’t bother him anymore and offered to delete Mac’s information from his phone. Mac encouraged Cody to keep his number and to call if Cody ever needed him.

At Charlie’s Pub, Drew confronted Denise about the lies Denise had told regarding the identity of Willow’s birth mother. The whole conversation got very heated and Denise got up to leave, but Carly intervened. Carly made excuses for why Denise had lied. Denise said that the truth is that Harmony, or “Lorraine,” had already had the baby when Harmony had joined the commune years earlier and that Denise had no idea who Willow’s birth mother or father were. Drew wanted to know if that was the case then why had Denise lied in the first place. Denise said that Harmony had been her friend and she was just trying to defend her and her baby from whatever had caused her to run.  Drew questioned what she meant by that statement.  Denise said that Harmony was very jittery and always seemed fearful of something or someone.  This story seemed to match up with the account that Phyllis had given Drew and Alexis previously.  Denise said she did not believe he should continue to investigate Harmony’s past because doing so could expose Willow to the same threat that had made Harmony so fearful.  On her way out of the pub, Denise left a pair of gloves on the table. Carly rushed to return the gloves to Denise outside the pub. Carly handed Denise the gloves, along with a cash payment for Denise’s story.

“Question: were you telling the truth to Drew? Was Lorraine really running from someone?” Carly asked. “She was jumpy around strangers. Always seemed to be looking over her shoulder,” Denise replied.

Also at Charlie’s Pub, Phyllis listened to Nina’s latest drama. Nina recalled that she had gotten into a verbal spat with Willow and Willow had become so upset that she had passed out. Nina told Phyllis that she hoped everything would be okay and that she had no idea that Willow was having such a difficult pregnancy.

Drew approached Phyllis. Drew asked if Phyllis had ever known Harmony to talk about a baby when Phyllis had known Harmony in New York. “Not that I recall,” Phyllis answered.

Carly came back inside from her conversation with Denise. Drew wondered if Harmony had stolen Willow from Willow’s real parents. Drew said now that they knew the story about Willow’s birth mother having died from an overdose was a lie that meant that someone, somewhere was wondering what happened to their little girl.

In the chapel at the hospital, Ava asked Elizabeth how she dared even enter a chapel.  “Aren’t you scared of being struck by lightning?” Ava said.  She promised that Elizabeth and Nikolas didn’t know the meaning of the word pain, but that they  would both be sorry.  Not only will you lose everything you cost me, but by the time I am done, you will have lost so much more,” Ava threatened.

Elizabeth largely stayed quiet as Ava hurled insult after insult until finally Elizabeth had enough.  “Oh, my God, Ava! Shut up! Not everything is about you!” Elizabeth snapped.

Ava mentioned that Nikolas had slept with Esme months earlier, and she was surprised when she discovered that Elizabeth already knew about it. Ava then brought up the baby Elizabeth was carrying. “There’s not going to be a baby!” Elizabeth replied. Elizabeth said that she had miscarried and that Nikolas didn’t know yet. Ava showed no remorse, and in the most cold way possible, she said that she was “sorry” for Elizabeth’s loss. On her way out of the chapel, Ava told Elizabeth not to expect any sympathy from Nikolas, because he only cared for himself and had no regard for others.

After Ava had left, Elizabeth remained in the chapel. She stared at the cross and spoke to herself. “What am I doing?  If the truth is supposed to set me free, then how come it feels like a stone around my neck? But I guess it’s not the truth that’s the problem, is it? Nope. It’s me and the choices I’ve made.” Elizabeth said she had torn her life down over the past few months, piece by piece.  “I lost Finn. I’m helping Nikolas hold a pregnant woman captive because I thought I was keeping everybody else from getting hurt. But now that cop is dead, and I know it can’t be Esme who’s the killer. This isn’t me. I’m a good person, aren’t I?” Elizabeth asked. Elizabeth paused. “Aren’t I?” she asked again.

At Wyndemere, Spencer walked into the living room where Nikolas was sitting. Nikolas told Spencer that they needed to talk. Nikolas recalled having served Ava with divorce papers. Spencer said that he guessed that meant that a reconciliation was right around the corner. Nikolas told Spencer that he had been unfaithful to Ava and there would be no reconciliation. Spencer assumed that Nikolas had been referring to the affair with Esme, and he was shocked to learn that Nikolas was admitting to a separate affair.  Spencer was outraged when Nikolas admitted that it had been Elizabeth.  He said that Elizabeth was practically family and he recalled Elizabeth’s stint in Shady Brook months earlier because she had been taking sleeping pills that altered her memory.  Spencer implied that Nikolas had taken advantage of her and her situation and asked how he would ever be able to face his friend Cameron again.  Spencer called Nikolas disgusting and said that their relationship was through. Spencer said that there was one “positive” thing that would come out of all of this.  He said that he was now determined to be a better man and a better father than Nikolas.

Nikolas told Spencer that he loved him and said that he was already a better man. Spencer left the room.

Nikolas’ phone rang. It was Elizabeth.  She informed Nikolas about her confrontation with Ava and that she had told Ava she had suffered a miscarriage.  She was relieved that she would no longer have to pretend to be pregnant.  “Now I just have to fix all the other mistakes I’ve made,” Elizabeth told Nikolas. “I know this is hard, but we made our choices. There’s no going back,” Nikolas told his best friend.

Later, in the alley behind Charlie’s Pub, Ava told Nina about having confronted Elizabeth. Nina (with great irony) said that she absolutely hated Elizabeth for what she had done. Ava admitted that she actually felt sympathy for both Elizabeth and Nikolas.  She said that she just didn’t believe she could go after them after they had just lost a child, throwing her plans for revenge for both of them up in the air.

Young & The Restless Update

Update written by Barbara

At Jabot, Jack firmly urges Kyle and Summer that when they get the go-ahead word from him, they need to get Harrison up to the cabin and into his grandmother’s arms as soon as they can.  He has a plan for getting Jeremy out of Genoa City and if it goes smoothly, Jeremy will be out of their lives for good.

In Tucker’s suite, with Audra hiding in the bathroom after Ashley knocks on the door, he finds himself scrambling to figure out what to tell Ashley. Thinking fast on his feet, he lies and tells her that he had to take another shower because he had worked out at the hotel gym. He tries to distract her by telling her how wonderful the gym is.

After she turns down his offer to come in for a drink, he encourages her to go upstairs to the Glam Club and gives Audra the all-clear to come out of the bathroom.  She tells Tucker that he seems to be getting what he wants both personally and professionally. He lets her know that she will get the reward she deserves if she continues her association with him.

While they’re waiting to hear from Jack, Summer and Kyle decide to open up one of each other’s Christmas gifts.  Summer feels badly about her fight with her mother and how she had to fire her and Kyle is optimistic that she will be able to get through it.

At the Glam Club, things are strained between Noah and Allie, but after they talk about the situation with Audra and smooth things over, Allie tells him she realizes that he only has eyes for her. They kiss, discuss their families’ Christmas traditions and make plans to spend part of the day together.

Tucker joins Ashley at the club and becomes a sounding board for her to vent about how she and Jack cannot get along at all because of Diane.

Over at Crimson Lights, fresh on the heels of Sharon’s uncomfortable run-in with Tucker, Audra comes in and introduces herself to Sharon.  Sharon is quick to mention that she knows who Audra is from seeing her in the coffeehouse previously and is aware that she and Noah are no longer dating. Audra assures Sharon that she knows Noah has no lingering feelings for her and that she won’t cause any trouble for him and Allie.

Chance comes into Crimson Lights, all amped up about cracking a case regarding a man working at the mall as an elf who was responsible for thefts. Audra is sitting at a table sipping her holiday beverage with an amused look on her face as she listens to his conversation with Sharon about it.

Sharon gets a phone call from Faith in Switzerland and steps onto the patio to answer. Audra warms up to Chance, who joins her at the table, and they have a lighthearted conversation. After awhile, he excuses himself and goes over to Sharon to thank her for her support and good advice.

Jack shows up at Jeremy’s suite with a briefcase that has $500,000 in cash inside. He points out to Jeremy that his is twice the amount of money Diane had on her when Jeremy was arrested.

Jack and Jeremy have a heated exchange about the money, which results in Jack getting up in Jeremy’s face and telling him to name his price.  Jeremy deflects and asks if Jack is involved with Diane. Jack is insistent that the situation is all about his son and his grandson.

Jeremy hesitates on Jack’s money offer and tells him it’s more than just the cash.  He insists on meeting with Diane one more time and negotiating with her because he and Diane are on a questions-answers basis.  He tells Jack that after he gets answers from Diane, he will move on, looks over at the briefcase, and adds “with the money, of course.”

After some back and forth talk, Jack tells Jeremy that he thinks he might know where he can find Diane, but he remains firm and unflinching about Jeremy moving on after meeting with her. He tells him that after he has one last chat with Diane, he must take the money and it’s over, “none of us will ever have to see you again.”

General Hospital Updates

Update written by Dustin

At Volonino’s gym, Chase worked until Brook Lynn showed up. Chase complained to Brook Lynn that his singing career (which has pointedly told her–he doesn’t want) is all she ever wants to talk about.  He mentioned Rory’s death and how he hadn’t been there on the force to show Rory the ropes because of her fantasy of him being a singer.  Brook Lynn admitted that she had written the letter, but that it had been too little, too late.  Chase said that he wasn’t giving up on his career.  Brook Lynn said that he should do the single with Blaze and use the money to finance his efforts to get his badge back. Chase told her that if he needed extra money he would work extra shifts at a regular job.  He told her that they needed space.  Brook Lynn said that she would draw up the paperwork to end their relationship as client and manager and Chase told her to send it certified, they had no reason to see each other again.

Sonny and Nina called out Ava’s name as they rushed into the art gallery, followed by Dex. They were concerned that her door had been unlocked, and Nina wondered where Ava had been the previous evening. Nina said that she had even called Nikolas to see if Ava was at Wyndemere.  Ava admitted that she had stayed at the gallery all night and that Wyndemere was no longer her home. Sonny departed as Nina and Ava continued their conversation.  On their way out, Dex asked if he should arrange protection for Ava, but Sonny said no because issues with Nikolas would take precedence.

Ava claimed that she had been doing paperwork through the night, which had created a sore neck. Nina noticed there was broken glass all over the floor and she helped to clean things up. Nina asked about Nikolas. Ava revealed that Nikolas had served her with divorce papers, and Nina was shocked because she was sure that Ava and Nikolas were on the road to reconciliation. Ava disclosed that Nikolas had not only slept with Elizabeth, but Elizabeth was also pregnant. Nina was floored.

Ava vowed to shed no more tears for Nikolas and that she fully intended to take Nikolas for everything he was worth, thanks to Victor, who wanted to keep family skeletons in the closet. Nina asked Ava if she had lost her mind.  “You do not want to attempt to extort a member of that family,” she said.  But, Ava was undeterred.  She was focused on the task at hand and said that she was leaving to go to the pharmacy to get something for her sore neck.

Josslyn finished her daily run to find Carly just finishing up a phone conversation with Jax. Carly told Josslyn that Jax wanted her to come to Australia.  He thought it was important for her to get out of Port Charles with The Hook still on the loose. Josslyn said that she couldn’t walk out on her life. Carly was concerned about Josslyn’s safety, and she wanted Josslyn to be careful. She gave Josslyn strict orders to remain on the grounds, along with several other rules. She was also worried about Josslyn’s association with Dex.

Carly said that she had faith in Josslyn and that she would always be in her corner. She knew that Josslyn was aware of what life would be like with Dex because of Carly’s relationships with Jason and Sonny. Josslyn apologized for calling Jason an idiot for working for Sonny.  She also told Carly that after what happened the previous night with Spencer that she believed Dex would no longer be an issue.  Carly was shocked to hear that Spencer had been released from Pentonville early.  Josslyn filled her in on Spencer’s release and what had happened at Kelly’s.  The doorbell rang and Carly answered it.  It was Sonny and Dex. Sonny said that he wanted to assign protection to Josslyn and Carly was in full support of that idea.  Carly said that she and Josslyn had a lunch date with Michael and Willow.  Josslyn said she had decided to skip lunch and Sonny asked Dex to stay with Josslyn until he could get someone else as her full time protection.  He told Carly to give Michael and Willow his best wishes.

Outside Carly’s house, Sonny asked his man to send a gender neutral gift to Michael and Willow without a card. Inside the house, Dex thanked Carly for her assistance when he was wounded, and he promised to keep an eye on Josslyn until the new guard arrived. “That’s what I’m afraid of,” Carly remarked as she departed. Josslyn wanted Dex to leave, but he exclaimed that he had his orders. “It’s clear where we stand,” Josslyn insisted. “Aren’t you tired of pretending?” Dex replied. He told her that it was okay to be scared, even though he knew she was tough. He added that she was safe with him. Josslyn began to cry and ran into his arms.

At General Hospital, Michael and Willow were ready for Dr. Navarro to do an ultrasound.  There was some trepidation at whether or not they should find out the sex of the baby and they went back and forth discussing the issue. But, in the end, Willow said go ahead with her ultrasound, since she’d promised to disclose the baby’s gender at lunch.

Dr. Navarro was called to the room and performed the ultrasound. She announced that everything looked good, and they listened to the baby’s heartbeat. She showed Michael and Willow the screen and revealed that they were going to have a baby girl.

Nikolas found Elizabeth at the nurses’ station and demanded they talk. Elizabeth said that she was working and Nikolas insisted that he would wait.  Elizabeth told him that he would have a long wait because she had just started her shift. Nikolas wanted to know if Elizabeth intended to tell the police about his holding Esme against her will. Elizabeth finally agreed to walk to the chapel once she saw that the conversation was going to get incredibly personal.

Elizabeth said that she had only gone along with Nikolas’ plans because they had thought that Esme was The Hook killer. Elizabeth thought she was in too deep and worried that she would be charged as an accomplice. She said she felt trapped. Nikolas suggested that he hire someone else to take over as Esme’s  nurse. Elizabeth said that it wouldn’t matter. Esme would talk, and Elizabeth’s career would be over, even if she escaped jail time. Elizabeth saw no other option but to continue on as Esme’s nurse.  Elizabeth said that they would have to deal with all of the people they had hurt as part of their scheming and that things were about to get very difficult. Nikolas apologized and left, and soon after, Elizabeth headed to the door and found Ava standing in the doorway. “Going somewhere?” Ava asked before adding, “I don’t think so.”

Drew and Alexis met at Charlie’s Pub and sat at a table. Alexis announced that she had done some “digging” for him regarding Willow’s search for her mother and she had discovered after speaking with a local reporter that there was no Joan at the commune and there were certainly no heroin-related deaths in that county. Alexis and Drew were able to surmise from the available information that Denise had falsified the information she had funneled to Drew.

Drew flashed back to Carly saying that Harmony had told her that Nina was Willow’s mother, and Alexis noted that she was glad to have verified the information and uncovered the lies. Alexis added that Harmony had been quite the liar herself. Drew agreed that Harmony had definitely told lies, and Phyllis overheard them as she came to offer a refill on their coffee.

Phyllis asked about the investigation and noted that Harmony (or Lorraine as she had known her) had always kept secrets. Phyllis recalled the day she had run into Harmony at Charlie’s pub and said that the way she spoke to her seemed as though she were trying to rewrite history. She went off to see other customers, and Drew said that he wanted to question Denise again because everything she had told him seemed to be a lie.  Just as Drew made the statement about Denise’s lies, Carly walked in and overheard him.  She looked shocked and realized that Drew was on to the campaign of lies that she had set into motion.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Gwen and Leo meet at the Bistro for a drink. Leo is hopeful that Gwen talked to Jack about getting him a job at the Spectator, but guesses by her look that it didn’t go very well. Gwen tells him that she’s sorry but Jack doesn’t feel like a gossip column is the right fit for the Spectator. Leo guesses drinks are on her then. Gwen questions him already spending all the money she gave him. Leo complains that it was nothing but admits it was a dream to be wrestling around with Xander. Gwen is just glad it went as planned and hopes now Bonnie will stop saying it was Xander who kidnapped her.

Alex, Sonny, Bonnie, and Justin return home from eating at Buddy’s Burgers. Bonnie compliments Justin for remembering her favorite. Justin says she’s had a rough couple of weeks. Sonny says it was the least they could do. Bonnie plays the scratch off from the restaurant and wins free fries. Bonnie declares that the real prize is having a nice dinner with her family. Bonnie thinks the bad times are finally over and just in time for Christmas. Bonnie then starts to imagine the Clown mask on Alex, Sonny, and Justin and tries to ignore it.

At the hospital, Steve is on the phone with Kayla, telling her that he will call with another update as soon as they let him see Tripp again. Steve hangs up as Stephanie arrives and says she heard about the explosion and asks if Tripp is going to be alright. Steve says he thinks so as Sarah is checking on him now. Stephanie questions what Tripp was doing back in Salem. Steve explains that Tripp felt the need to confront EJ about his mother’s death, but it turned out Ava was alive and was the one who set the bomb. Steve remarks that it looks like Ava’s up to her old tricks again and it almost got his son killed.

Sarah tells Tripp that she’ll probably let him go after she gets his blood work and x-rays back. Tripp assures that he feels fine and is only here because Steve insisted. Sarah points out that Tripp inhaled a lot of smoke. Tripp responds that his mom is the one he’s worried about. Sarah understands Ava stopped breathing and Tripp saved her life. Tripp points out that she may have survived the blast but she’s still probably going away for a long time.

After Ava demands Xander get her out or else she’ll tell Sarah that he was her accomplice in the kidnappings of Bonnie and Susan, Xander argues that she can’t be serious. Ava responds that she doesn’t joke around. Xander questions her expecting him to help her escape police custody. Ava remarks that he is her partner in crime and asks who else she’s supposed to turn to. Xander says not him anymore. Xander says goodbye to Ava but Ava warns that she meant what she said, so if he doesn’t help her out, she will tell Sarah everything she knows. Xander argues that Sarah believes in him while the whole town knows what Ava is now. Ava reminds him that she still knows that he kidnapped Susan and Bonnie and how he did it, so once she gives Sarah all the details, she will know that he never changed and he’s still the heartless criminal he always was. Ava declares that Xander will lose Sarah forever.

Bonnie tries to ignore that she sees clown masks. Sonny asks if she’s alright. Bonnie blames the food she had. Justin offers to get her something but Bonnie decides she can get it and hurries out of the room. Alex guesses she’s not alright after all.

Steve tells Stephanie that things could’ve been a lot worse if Tripp hadn’t showed up to confront EJ, since when Ava found out that Tripp was in the church, she went back inside to warn everybody about the bomb which gave them a split second to cover and may have made all the difference. Stephanie asks if anyone else was hurt. Steve tells her that Nicole and Ava were, but he hears both are going to be fine physically. Stephanie comments that it sounds like Ava has really gone over the edge. Steve thinks she has been for awhile but just didn’t let them see it.

Tripp tells Sarah how he tried to get Ava to go to Seattle with him but she wouldn’t hear it. Tripp feels maybe then none of this would’ve happened as he believes he’s the one person who can still get through to Ava. Tripp states that what she did was horrible, but she’s been through so much as she saw Jake get killed and then EJ put all this pressure on her. Tripp asks if he can go check on Ava again but Sarah wants him to stay put until his results are in. Tripp insists that he feels fine but Sarah reminds him that he’s not the doctor today. Tripp asks Sarah to check on Ava and let him know how she is.

Xander complains that Ava has gotten him in to enough trouble as it is. Ava argues that she just offered him a job. Xander says he was desperate for money and he never saw the money. Ava tells him that he botched the job. Xander argues that the job never included murder. Ava says it also didn’t include letting Susan go and he did that. Ava argues that if Susan hadn’t shown up at the airfield, she’d be living it up now on DiMera millions in a tropical paradise. Ava says because of Xander, she had to drive Susan off a cliff to get rid of her. Xander questions blaming him for that. Ava warns that if he doesn’t get her out, she will be blaming him to the cops.

Sonny asks if Bonnie is still seeing clowns. Alex asks what he thinks. Alex tells Justin that he’s really sorry. Justin guesses Bonnie still doesn’t feel safe and is making excuses not to leave the house. Sonny understands her being freaked out after being kidnapped twice. Alex wonders if the guy would really try again after botching it twice and Xander getting a look at him. Justin hopes Xander scared him off for good. Sonny asks if there’s anything they can do to help. Justin suggests they just go out and get a drink since Bonnie is probably embarrassed. Alex says a drink sounds good. Sonny asks if Justin is sure there’s nothing they can do. Justin assures that Bonnie is his wife, so he’s got this and tells them to go have fun. Sonny and Alex then exits the mansion as Justin states that it’s Christmas.

Leo asks Gwen if she’s thought about how she’s going to cash in the favor she did for Xander. Gwen argues that she was just helping a friend out of a jam. Leo says they both know she thinks of Xander as more than a friend and now he owes her in a major way. Leo encourages that this could be Gwen’s ticket back in to Xander’s heart, or at least his bed.

Ava warns Xander that if she goes to prison, she’s taking him with her. Xander argues that she’s handcuffed to a bed and he’s not a magician. Ava brings up that Xander once kidnapped Nicole and kept her in a cage. Ava warns Xander to act fast because once the cops find out she’s okay, they will be there. Xander wishes Ava died in the car crash. Ava mocks the idea of him hurting her feelings. Xander picks up a scalpel from nearby and warns that her feelings are not the only thing he’s capable of hurting.

Steve and Stephanie check on Tripp. Stephanie hugs him and is thankful he’s alright. Steve asks what the verdict is. Tripp responds that Sarah won’t let him leave until his test results come back, but at this time of night, that could take forever. Steve encourages him to be patient. Tripp wants to see Ava. Steve offers to go check on her for him but Tripp says he already asked Sarah to do that. Stephanie guesses it was a real shock to find out that Ava was still alive. Tripp admits he’s still processing it. Steve remarks that it would’ve been better for everyone if she stayed dead this time. Tripp questions how he could say something like that. Steve complains that Ava is the reason why Tripp got kidnapped and Susan is dead. Steve adds that everyone in that church could’ve gotten killed because Ava wanted to get even with EJ. Tripp argues that Ava just isn’t in her right mind. Steve shouts that’s why Tripp needs to stay away from her because she’s completely out of control and dangerous. Steve pleads with Tripp to promise to stay away from Ava from now on.

Ava tells Xander to put the scalpel down because they both know he’s not going to use it. Xander says he wouldn’t be too sure about that. Xander says if he gets rid of Ava, all his problems disappear. Ava argues that he doesn’t have the guts anymore, because if he did, he would’ve killed Susan when she asked him to, so he won’t kill her either. Xander argues that Susan was a decent person while Ava is no better than the cockroaches in his motel, so he’d be doing the world a favor. Ava dares him to go ahead and put her out of his misery then. Sarah then enters the room and questions what Xander is doing there. Xander claims he was just trying to get answers out of Ava, hoping he could get Bonnie and Justin the name of the hired goon she had been using but she’s not talking. Ava says she’s still weighing her options and waiting to see how things shake out around here. Sarah suggests Xander let the police do the interrogating. Xander agrees it was a mistake to come here and says they should go. Sarah tells him that she promised Tripp that she would examine Ava, so she’ll catch up with him later. Xander refuses to leave Sarah alone with Ava after she just tried to blow up a church full of people. Ava asks how much trouble she can cause while chained to a bed. Sarah tells Xander that she will see him later. Xander then reluctantly exits.

Gwen mocks Leo’s idea of her getting a favor from helping Xander. Leo says he’s just pointing out that she scored major points with her ex and Leo believes it totally makes up for drugging his wife. Gwen doesn’t think Xander would agree. Leo encourages that Xander sees Gwen in a new way and they are bonded by this big secret. Gwen argues that it doesn’t change anything since Xander loves Sarah and they are happily married. Gwen says the whole reason Xander worked so hard to cover his tracks is because he can’t bear the thought of losing Sarah. Leo doesn’t think Sarah is right for Xander. Gwen accuses Leo of projecting and says he thinks that if she can get married Xander in to bed, then he can do the same with Sonny, who is also happily married. Leo argues that he told her that he and Sonny are just friends. Gwen tells Leo to admit that he’s mad for Sonny. Sonny and Alex then arrive.

Bonnie comes back to the living room and asks Justin where Alex and Sonny are. Justin tells her that they decided to go out for a drink. Bonnie worries that she ruined their family night. Justin asks about her stomachache. Bonnie says she’ll be fine and goes to drink a glass of water, but she envisions the clown mask on Justin again and drops the glass in shock.

Tripp refuses to abandon Ava again. Stephanie says they know he loves her. Steve argues that Ava has gone way too far and he’s going to end up getting hurt again. Tripp complains that no one will look out for Ava but him so she’s all alone. Steve says Ava did that to herself. Tripp blames EJ pushing her over the edge. Steve says that’s why he needs to stay away from her. Tripp points out that Ava came back to a town where everyone hates her, just for him. Tripp adds that Ava promised she would be different for him and she made good on that promise for a long time. Tripp wants Ava to know that he still loves her no matter what. Stephanie admits that she gets what he’s saying. Steve then agrees that he does too, but he can’t get past the fact that Ava almost got Tripp killed tonight. Steve cries that he can’t lose him again as they hug.

Sarah tells Ava that her vitals are good while Ava begins looking distracted. Sarah mentions that her son is really worried about her and doesn’t understand why she went to such extremes. Ava questions her and says this was all his idea and he wouldn’t leave her alone until she did what he wanted. Sarah asks if she’s blaming Tripp. Ava clarifies that she means her other son, Charlie, and declares that this is all his fault.

Steve calls Kayla and informs her that Tripp got his test results back and the x-rays showed smoke inhalation but no permanent damage and his heart is fine. Steve hopes he can convince Tripp to fly back to Seattle with him and Stephanie tomorrow but he’s not sure he can since Tripp feels he needs to be here for Ava. Steve says he doesn’t like it either but he’ll keep her posted as he hangs up. Stephanie asks if Steve and Kayla were still planning on spending Christmas in Seattle. Steve says as long as he can convince Tripp to come with them. Stephanie says she’s been meaning to talk to him about that because she has to cancel which Steve questions. Stephanie explains that she spent most of the day trying to convince Paulina to not resign as Governor and she said she would sleep on it, but she says she will make her decision tomorrow, so she has to be here for it. Steve feels that sounds like a lousy Christmas and asks if she wants him to stick around. Stephanie says no and tells him to be with Kayla, Joey, and hopefully Tripp. Steve questions letting Stephanie spend Christmas alone. Stephanie feels she’ll be too busy to even know it was Christmas since Paulina is going through a really bad time. Stephanie says she likes Paulina but notes this has been one hell of a day, so she can use a drink. She invites Steve to join her. Steve hates to turn her down but feels he has to stick around in case Tripp needs him. Stephanie figured he’d say that and says she’ll see him at home as they hug. Stephanie then exits the hospital.

Justin sits Bonnie down and asks what is going on. Bonnie claims the glass just fell out of her hand. Justin thinks it’s a little more than that. Justin assures that he would never judge her. Bonnie explains that she thought things were getting better but she keeps seeing the evil clown. Bonnie cries that she wants to be better and questions why this is happening to her. Justin hugs her and tells her it’s okay.

Gwen greets Sonny and asks how long he has been standing there. Sonny says long enough to know they were having an argument. Gwen says that’s nothing new for them. Sonny asks what it was about this time. Leo tells him that Gwen’s father turned down his offer for a gossip column. Gwen and Leo bicker over the Spectator. Sonny tells Leo that he’s really sorry it didn’t work out. Leo says he’s crushed since he doesn’t handle rejection well. Alex mutters that he should be used to it by now. Sonny tells Alex to knock it off since Leo is broke and out of a job. Gwen gets a call from Xander and steps away to answer it. Xander tells her that he needs help. Gwen questions needing help again. Xander says he wouldn’t bother her if it wasn’t important and asks if she can meet him in the town square. Gwen asks what has happened. Xander says he’ll explain when she gets there. Gwen says she’s on her way, so Xander calls her a lifesaver and hangs up.

Sarah questions Ava saying that Charlie told her that she had to get even with EJ. Ava doesn’t know why she ever listened to him since he’s never satisfied and always wants more. Ava says that Charlie made her drive off the road and always makes things worse. Sarah asks if it’s possible that Ava imagined Charlie. Ava insists that he was always there so he must have come back to life. Ava then imagines Charlie appearing in the room and tells Sarah that he’s right behind her and insists that he’s for real but when Sarah looks, she sees Tripp. Tripp tries to get through to Ava, but she sees Charlie and tells him to stop playing games. Tripp argues that she is confused. Ava talks about Charlie trying to trick her in to killing Tripp. Tripp asks Sarah what did this to her. Sarah is not sure and says it could be a delayed effect of the explosion. Tripp tries to get through to Ava that she’s seeing someone who isn’t there. Ava argues that she wants to see Tripp and asks what “Charlie” did to him. Sarah decides she’s going to have to sedate her to calm her down. Ava’s imagination of Charlie urges that Sarah is trying to drug her like her father used to. Ava then screams at Sarah that she will kill her as Sarah sedates her and Tripp watches on in horror.

Gwen meets Xander in the town square. Xander informs her about Ava being alive and how she’s threatening to tell everyone that he kidnapped Bonnie and Susan. Gwen jokes that she’s glad she didn’t put too much effort in to writing her obituary, but admits she did feel guilty since she was once a friend. Xander tells Gwen to focus. Gwen brings up that Kristen blackmailed her in to helping her escape prison, so she does understand. Gwen asks what Xander is going to do. Xander presents bolt cutters and says he can get Ava out of the handcuffs and the hospital, but he is going to need a driver. Xander says he hates asking Gwen to get involved in this mess again, but he’s desperate with no one else to go to. Xander notes that if Ava talks, he’ll lose everything. Gwen reluctantly agrees to help, so Xander thanks her while Gwen comments that he will really owe her one.

Bonnie tells Justin that she feels like a fool because she’s seeing clowns and dropping glasses. Justin encourages her not to be so hard on herself since she’s been through a traumatic experience twice. Bonnie argues that she went to prison for years, so she’s tough and this isn’t like her. Bonnie cries about clowns being scary. Justin informs her that Sarah thinks she might have PTSD, so the worst thing to do is suffer in silence. Bonnie feels it’s too embarrassing but Justin urges her to talk about it and suggests she see Marlena as there’s no shame in seeing a therapist. Justin reminds her that Nancy saw Marlena for a few sessions. Bonnie guesses it couldn’t hurt at this point. Justin decides they will make an appointment after the holiday. Bonnie asks Justin to call for her which he agrees to do. Bonnie cries that she doesn’t know what she’d do without him. Justin says he feels the same and holds her as he assures he’s got this.

Leo remarks that it looks like he’s been ditched by his BFF so he invites Alex and Sonny to join him. Sonny accepts but Alex says no. Sonny argues that it’s one drink. Stephanie then arrives and greets them. Alex says she looks like she could use a drink which she confirms is why she’s there. Stephanie says he would not believe the day she had. Alex wants to hear all about it and walks off with Stephanie. Sonny then sits with Leo and tells him that he’s sorry the Spectator job didn’t pan out but offers to try again to find him something at Titan. Leo says they’ve been over that it won’t work and adds that he is going to have to get creative about his living arrangements since the motel is kicking him out tomorrow for not paying rent on Christmas Eve. Leo admits he spent his last $300 on skincare products. Sonny asks why he doesn’t move in with Gwen. Leo says Chad is there. Sonny asks what he’s going to do then. Leo hopes an angel comes in to this bar but he knows the odds are not high and admits he doesn’t have a plan B yet. Sonny then invites Leo to just come stay with him. Leo questions if Sonny is really inviting him to move in with him. Sonny doesn’t like the idea of Leo staying on a park bench on Christmas. Leo asks what Will thinks about this. Sonny responds that Will is staying in LA for work, so he doesn’t get a say in this. Leo asks about Victor. Sonny says he’ll talk to him and convince him that it’s a big house and that Leo has changed. Leo promises he’ll be good and thanks him. Sonny asks what are friends for.

Ava is wheeled out of her room with Sarah and Tripp. Tripp informs Steve about Ava saying Charlie was telling her to do the things she did, so she’s hearing voices and seeing things. Sarah adds that she’s going to have Ava transferred to Bayview so they can diagnose her. Xander returns to the hospital and asks what’s going on. Ava says this is all his fault, so she’s going to tell everyone what he did.

Stephanie tells Alex that if things had gone slightly different, her brother could have been blown up by a bomb that his mother planted. Alex says no wonder she needed a drink. Stephanie adds that Tripp is still in Ava’s corner and wants to take care of her. Alex relates to that since his mother did crazy things but he still loved her. Stephanie asks if Christmas is hard without her. Alex admits it is a little bit but says it’s really good to be back with Sonny and Justin. Stephanie mentions that her family is supposed to be going to Seattle, so Steve is flying out tomorrow and hopes to convince Tripp to come with him. Alex asks what about her. Stephanie says she has to stay because of work. Alex questions her staying by herself. Stephanie insists that she will survive. Alex says screw that and declares that she’s spending Christmas with him.

Ava envisions Xander as Charlie and yells at him for making her do everything from the kidnapping to the bomb. Sarah explains to Xander that Ava is having hallucinations and psychotic breaks, so she’s having her transferred to Bayview. Xander says that explains a lot. Ava pleads not to make her go there as she doesn’t want to leave Tripp. Tripp tells her that he’s right there and is going with her. Ava cries, repeating that she doesn’t want to go and leave him. Tripp promises it will be okay and they will get her better. Ava cries that she’s scared.

Stephanie asks if Alex is sure his family will be okay with her crashing their holiday. Alex insists the more the merrier. Stephanie points out that he bailed out her Thanksgiving and now her Christmas. Alex is starting to think it’s going to be the best Christmas ever as they kiss.

Leo tells Sonny that this is going to be the best Christmas ever and it’s all because of him. Sonny calls it no big deal. Leo argues that he kept him from spending Christmas alone on a park bench. Leo then hears a bell and tells Sonny that it turns out, he does have a Christmas angel.

Justin is on the phone with Steve, saying he can’t believe Ava is alive and asks if she named her accomplice. Steve says she didn’t. Justin hopes that if she’s in police custody, she will give him up to cut a deal. Steve doesn’t see that happening because Ava has gone off the deep end, so they are moving her to Bayview as they speak. Steve doesn’t think Ava will be in any condition to answer questions any time soon. Justin hoped he would be able to tell Bonnie that this is all over, but now they may never find out who the kidnapper was. Justin hangs up and goes back in to the living room where Bonnie is desperately trying to clean the water that she had spilled.

Sarah announces the ambulance is there and says she will go with Ava. Ava responds that she wants her mom. Tripp tells Sarah that she doesn’t have to and that he will go with her. Steve decides he will walk down with Tripp. Tripp tells Ava that he’s going to get her the help she needs and he will go in the ambulance with her. Ava continues seeing Charlie and asks Tripp to just get her out of here. Ava is then wheeled away with Steve and Tripp. Sarah tells Xander that she can’t believe she’s saying this but she feels bad for Ava. Xander points out that Ava hurt a lot of people. Sarah gets paged so she tells Xander that she will see him at home. Sarah kisses Xander and thanks him again for her birthday surprise as she walks away. Xander then gets a text from Gwen, saying she’s ready to go. Xander responds telling her to abort the mission. Gwen texts back that he still owes her one.

Young & The Restless Update

Update written by Barbara

At Crimson Lights, Sharon has a festive holiday time with Mariah and Tessa. Noah comes by after working at the club, where he had served his father and Sally a special drink on their evening out together. Faith won’t be coming home for the holidays because she was invited to join her roommate and her roommate’s family in Switzerland. Although Sharon is sad, she knows that Faith will have a wonderful time there. Tessa declares that she and Mariah are meeting a pregnant woman after New Year’s about a possible adoption. Mariah moves aside with a seemingly upset expression on her face. When Tessa starts to apologize to Mariah for mentioning it, Mariah explains that she isn’t mad – she’s just worried about getting everybody’s hopes up after what happened the last time.

Chloe goes over to Chelsea’s apartment with Esther’s famous Kringle.  Chloe assures Chelsea that she has not come over to check up on her; she just wants to spend time with her bestie. The two women sit on Chelsea’s couch under throws, sipping tea, chatting and laughing. Chelsea tells Chloe that it’s nice to just talk normally instead of talking about things like therapy. Nonetheless, Chelsea says that she wants to make amends with Chloe.  She says that she’s sorry for blaming her when she saw warning signs and pointed them out to her. Chloe accepts Chelsea’s apology. Chelsea mentions that she needs a complete personal and professional make over and that she plans to get it right this time.

Adam shows up at the Newman ranch with a couple of favors to ask his father. Victor is quick to agree with Adam bringing Connor to the ranch for the family’s holiday celebration, but he is against the second favor Adam asks: bringing Chelsea to the ranch for the festivities. Victor tells him that he does not want Chelsea there. He points out that Chelsea threw a wrench into Victoria’s life by insisting on telling Johnny that she’s his biological mother. However, Adam says that Connor should be with both his parents and mentions that Chelsea had no idea how Johnny would react to finding out that she’s his bio mom. He also lets Victor know that as far as Johnny is concerned, he and Connor have been growing closer since they learned they were brothers.  Adam also jogs Victor’s memory about how he forced Chelsea to fake a breakdown and get institutionalized. Victor replies that it benefited Chelsea since he helped her avoid criminal prosecution. After talking back and forth, Victor finally agrees to let Chelsea visit. Adam expresses his appreciation;  Victor agrees firmly that he should appreciate this.

Later on, Victor tells Nikki about what transpired. Nikki says that Victoria mentioned that Chelsea had been in a bad place, so she’s in favor of Adam spending time at the ranch for the holidays. She says that she knows that Victor wants to bring him “back into the family fold”. Victor says that since Adam was the one who left, he would have to make the first move if he wants back in. Nikki points out that by choosing to be with the family on Christmas, Adam may be taking the first step.

Over at the Glam Club, Sally invites Nick to come to her suite for a nightcap, and he takes her up on her invitation.  In her suite, they talk about Christmas plans, and Sally tells him that she doesn’t want him to feel obligated to include her in the Newman Christmas celebration.  Nick mentions that his family has trust issues regarding Sally and lets her know that Victor had a dossier on her compiled of her time in LA. He also mentions that he did not read it, although she says that she wishes that he had because then she would know if anything from her past is a “dealbreaker”. Nick assures her that he doesn’t want to know about her misdeeds from the past, just some good things.  They sit down on the sofa, and she mentions a few, such as her first pet being a little beagle and how she excelled in acrobatics. Afterward, as they lie in bed, grinning, Nick tells her that he’d be fine with changing his holiday plans for her. Then he tells her that he’ll spend some time with his family and then do something special with her later. Sally thinks that sounds perfect.

Chloe and Chelsea go downstairs to Crimson Lights to join in with the festivities. Chelsea gets a call from Adam, who tells her that Connor begged to spend the night at the ranch and help decorate the barn.  She lets him know that she was looking forward to spending time with Connor, but she’ll be fine alone.  Chelsea turns down Sharon’s offer to include her in putting up holiday decorations at Crimson Lights, saying that she wants to go out and get a little air. Sharon and Chloe exchange worried glances.

Outside, Chelsea is enjoying listening to Christmas carolers when Adam comes by. He lets her know that he spotted her leaving the coffeehouse and wants to join her. When Adam mentions Christmas at the ranch, Chelsea assures him that she still wants to go.  When she mentions how Billy has been spending a lot of time helping her, Adam says all that matters is her recovery – if Billy Abbott can help facilitate that, then he has no problems with it. When she asks how he’s doing in light of his break up with Sally, he tells her that he has moments of self-pity and loneliness but wants to concentrate on what he’s got – a wonderful son with a caring mother.Chelsea takes his   arm and smiles while they listen to the carolers together.

Over at the ranch, Nikki and Victor have a slow, romantic dance.

Update written by Joseph

Tripp rushes up to hug Ava and says he’s so glad to see her. Ava repeats that they have to get out of here. EJ tells Nicole to call the police. Johnny rushes in to the church. EJ assumes this is the mystery woman he was talking about. Johnny confirms that he found her in disguise. EJ guesses she came back to admire her handy work. EJ declares that Ava is going to pay for what he did to his mother and grabs her arm. Tripp tells EJ to get his hands off of her. Ava tells Tripp that she can handle EJ and orders Tripp to just go. Tripp refuses to leave her but she says he has to. Tripp questions what she is talking about. Ava then announces that there is a bomb, shocking everyone in the room. Ava uncovers the bomb underneath the table which is counting down from 6 seconds. Ava screams for Tripp to run and then the bomb explodes.

Eric and Brady hear the explosion from the town square and wonder what that was. Brady suggests it was thunder. Eric wants to get back to the bomb that Brady just dropped. Eric questions what Brady meant by saying Kristen blackmailed him in to breaking up with Chloe and asks what she is holding over his head.

John tells Kristen that if she keeps insisting she’s not a good person, confession is good for the soul. Kristen remarks that it’s too bad there’s not a priest around. John decides she’ll have to settle for the next best thing; an old friend. John asks what is weighing on her conscience and insists that he’s here for her, so she can talk to him.

Steve joins Rafe at the Brady Pub and offers to buy him the next beer. Steve asks if he’s made any progress on building the case against EJ for kidnapping Tripp. Rafe says not yet, but thank God Tripp is safe. Steve points out that he could’ve easily been killed…

EJ, Nicole, Johnny, Marlena, Ava, and Tripp are knocked unconscious in the church after the bomb went off.

Kristen tells John that she spent most of her life on the naughty list but she always felt that she was doing what she did for the right reasons. John acknowledges that she has a big a heart as anyone he knows and sometimes that can lead to inadvertently hurting people. Kristen says what she really wants is a loving family and to be a good mom and devoted wife. Kristen declares that she wants her daughter Rachel to know that she is loved and safe. John responds that is all they want for their kids. Kristen appreciates him saying she has a big heart, but thinks he’s the only person in the world that thinks that. John says they don’t know her like he does. Kristen calls him a good man and says he’s been very kind. John repeats that he’s there for her whenever she wants to talk. Kristen says she appreciates that but she has to head out to pick up Rachel from her after school program. Kristen thanks John for the talk and for understanding as she then exits.

Brady tells Eric that it’s not his life that Kristen is threatening, so Eric asks whose it is. Brady says he said too much already and wants to forget about the conversation but Eric can’t do that. Brady brings up that Eric just quit his job and broke up with Nicole, so he has other things to focus on. Eric argues that this feels like one of those things. Eric says if somebody he cares about is in danger, it’s probably someone he cares about too. Eric asks who Kristen is threatening to hurt. Brady finally reveals that it’s Marlena, Kate, and Kayla, and if he doesn’t do exactly what Kristen wants, then all three of them die.

Tripp and EJ begin waking up in the rubble in pain from the explosion. EJ calls out to Johnny, who then regains consciousness as well. EJ crawls over to Johnny to check on him, who says he is okay. Johnny says the gash on EJ’s head looks pretty bad. EJ says he’s fine but not sure about anyone else. Johnny calls out to Marlena as she then wakes up. They crawl over to Marlena, who asks if anyone is hurt. EJ then asks where Nicole is.

Steve questions Rafe if EJ is just going to walk away free after what he did to his son. Rafe argues that Steve knows how this works as he has to find evidence that EJ was responsible for the kidnapping or that he ordered it and then they will take him down. Rafe assures that he wants to do that as much as he does, maybe more. Steve asks why more. Rafe says he shouldn’t have said that since EJ kidnapped Steve’s son, so it’s not more. Steve asks what he’s talking about and what’s going on. Steve feels this is just as personal to Rafe as it is to him. Rafe admits that it is, as he just found out that EJ is shacking up with his wife.

Johnny tells EJ where Nicole was standing when the blast went off. EJ then locates her as she begins waking up. Nicole complains of her arm hurting but says she’s okay. Tripp begins calling out for his mom. Tripp finds Ava and notes that she is not breathing. Tripp then begins trying to revive her.

Sarah goes to the hospital where Xander and the hospital staff surprise her for her birthday. Sarah can’t believe it and says she’s so touched. Xander presents her with a birthday cake and has her make a wish as she blows out her candle.

John tries calling Marlena but it goes to voicemail. John leaves a message, saying he can’t believe the service is still going so maybe she went to the reception. John says he had a long talk with Kristen and got her to open up a little but she stopped short before revealing what she is hiding. John adds that he thinks even more now that Kristen is holding something over Brady, so now he’s even more determined to find out what it is.

Brady sits with Eric and says he shouldn’t be telling him this but he’s been keeping it inside and it’s been driving him nuts. Brady adds that part of Kristen’s threat was that if he told anyone, all three women would die. Eric asks how. Brady explains that when Orpheus infected Marlena, Kayla, and Kate, Kristen had the orchid to cure them but she threatened to withhold it if he didn’t do exactly what she wanted which was breaking up with Chloe and allowing Kristen to move in with him. Brady says it was the last thing he wanted, but he had no choice as he knows what Kristen is capable of and he wasn’t going to put the three women’s lives at risk.

Rafe thanks Steve for the beer. Steve tells him that he’s sorry about the pending divorce as he knows that has to be tough. Rafe confirms it is and admits it’s a bit humiliating too because he and Nicole were married for like five minutes. Steve argues that he was in love. Rafe calls Nicole the most neurotic, disloyal person on the planet but says it’s all for the best. Steve says he almost sounds convincing. Rafe says he will keep him in the loop on Tripp’s kidnapping and adds that Jada is a good cop, so hopefully she will find something. Steve then gets a call from Kayla, who informs him that Tripp got a flight to Salem and she’s convinced that he’s coming to confront EJ about Ava’s death, which Steve then shares with Rafe.

Marlena joins Tripp and they find a pulse as Ava begins breathing again. Johnny brings up that Ava said she was hard to kill and guesses she was right. Tripp says they need to get Ava to the hospital. EJ asks if Nicole can walk. Nicole says she will try. EJ offers to carry her if not. Nicole then finds her leg is stuck under a beam. EJ and Johnny try to remove it. Tripp joins them and then they look up in worry that the ceiling is about to collapse.

Sarah and Xander eat birthday cake. Xander asks what she wished for. Sarah responds that she wished he would forgive her for accusing him of being the clown that kidnapped Bonnie and Susan because she felt that she hurt him. Xander points out that she already apologized and there’s no reason to. Sarah feels there is because he has worked so hard to make himself a better man, so she shouldn’t doubt that. Sarah says the least she can do is be honest and admit her mistakes like he has. A nurse comes over for Sarah’s help with work. Sarah then notes that Xander looks pale. Xander responds that there is something she needs to know.

With worry about the ceiling coming down, Marlena says they have to move the beam. Nicole tells them to just go but EJ refuses to without her. Johnny says the beam won’t budge.

Eric asks Brady if he and Kristen are really back together. Brady assures that they are not and they are only living in the same place. Brady adds that Kristen knows better than to expect anything more and hasn’t pressed the issue. Eric asks what happens when she does. Eric can’t figure how Kristen has this hold on him and asks why he didn’t kick her out after the women got the antidote. Brady explains that Kristen claims the women are going to need a second dose after New Year’s or they won’t survive. Eric questions believing her. Brady asks how he could take that chance when their lives are at stake. Eric can’t believe Brady has been carrying this secret the entire time. Brady admits it hasn’t been fun holding it inside and says it’s been Hell having to live with Kristen. Brady adds that to top it off, he lost Chloe to Stefan DiMera. Eric asks if he’s going to let Kristen get away with it. Brady says as long as the women’s lives are at stake, she’s going to get away with it. Brady reminds Eric that he has to keep this between them. Eric promises not to tell a soul but says together, they will figure out a way to stop Kristen from hurting him and people they both love.

EJ, Marlena, Johnny, and Tripp manage to remove the beam from Nicole’s leg. EJ, Johnny, and Marlena help Nicole to her feet while Tripp checks on Ava. EJ and Marlena help Nicole out of the building. Tripp asks Johnny for help with Ava, arguing that they can’t leave her there to die. Johnny points out that Susan believed in helping people no matter what, so he agrees to do it in the spirit of Susan Banks. Tripp and Johnny then carry Ava out of the building.

Sarah asks what Xander needs to tell her. Xander starts to tell her but Sarah gets paged that there’s been an explosion at the church and they’ve already brought some people in. Sarah thanks Xander for the birthday party and says she has to go, so she runs off before Xander can tell her anything more.

Brady goes home where John greets him. Brady asks if Kristen is there. John says she went to pick Rachel up from school. John notes Brady’s expression and asks what’s wrong and if there’s something he needs to tell him. Brady informs him that he just saw Eric. John asks how he is. Brady says Eric is not good as he just quit his job at Basic Black and things with Nicole are pretty bad, so he doesn’t want to be anywhere near her now.

Steve tells Rafe that he better get to the DiMera Mansion so Tripp doesn’t get into it with EJ and make things worse. Rafe says he’ll go with him. Rafe then gets a call. Rafe hangs up and informs Steve that Tripp isn’t at the DiMera Mansion, but at the hospital with his mother. Rafe reveals that evidently, Ava Vitali is still alive.

Ava is in a hospital bed. Tripp sits at her side, pleading with her to wake up. Ava then wakes up and they hug as Tripp tells her that she’s okay. Ava is thankful that he’s okay and safe. Ava tells Tripp that she had no idea he would be in the church, so she went back in to get him out. Ava is thankful that she wasn’t too late.

Xander remains sitting at the hospital looking sad. EJ and Johnny arrive. Johnny urges EJ to get checked out since he hasn’t stopped bleeding. EJ insists that he will be fine and needs to be with Nicole.

Sarah checks Nicole out in a hospital room. Sarah says everything checks out and she doesn’t think her arm is broken but she will take some x-rays to be sure. Sarah notes that Nicole is really lucky. Nicole agrees that it could have been a lot worse. Sarah tells Nicole that she’s going to be alright as EJ enters the room and says thank God for that.

John tells Brady that it’s too bad for Eric and Nicole as they’ve had a rough ride. Kristen comes home and says it’s about to get rougher as she just heard that Nicole has leeched onto EJ. Kristen comments on Nicole going from Rafe to Eric to EJ and remarks that some women are just fickle. Brady asks where Rachel is. Kristen says she asked to have a playdate with her friend Amanda, so she couldn’t say no. Kristen asks if that’s okay with Brady. Brady says it’s fine. Kristen suggests they can go pick her up together. Marlena then comes home, covered in dirt from the explosion. John rushes up to hug her and asks what happened to her and what’s going on.

Xander approaches Johnny at the hospital and notes that EJ was sure in a rush, so he asks what happened to him. Johnny informs him that they just came from Susan’s memorial service at St. Luke’s. Xander mentions hearing about an explosion, so he asks if it was a gas leak. Johnny reveals that Ava planted a bomb. Xander argues that Ava is dead. Johnny says that’s what they all thought, until they saw her at the church and she tried to blow them all to kingdom come.

Ava doesn’t know what she would have done if something happened to Tripp. Tripp questions why she would do something like this and put a bomb in a church that could’ve killed innocent people. Rafe and Steve arrive. Rafe says he’d like to know the answer that too. Steve hugs Tripp and checks on him. Tripp starts coughing so Steve wants him checked out but Tripp wants to stay with Ava. Rafe tells him not to worry and assures that Ava is not going anywhere. Rafe then tells Ava that she’s under arrest for five counts of attempted murder and whatever else the district attorney decides to tack on.

Sarah checks out EJ and suggests he follow up with his regular doctor but she doesn’t see any sign of a concussion. EJ jokes that he has a very hard head which Nicole says she can confirm. Sarah says she’ll check on them later and exits the room. EJ asks if Nicole is okay. Nicole says not really. Nicole admits she tried to hide it at the church, but when she was under the beam and thought the roof might fall in, she was so scared. EJ tells her no one is there but them now, so she can show it now. EJ hugs Nicole as Eric then walks in.

Marlena tells John, Brady, and Kristen about the explosion. Marlena says that Johnny went to the hospital with EJ, but he’ll be fine. Kristen argues that EJ shouldn’t have gone in to the church and jokes that she’s surprised he wasn’t struck by lightning. Brady argues that people could have died. John is so glad that Marlena is okay. Kristen comments on John and Marlena already making up. Brady asks what she’s talking about. Kristen talks about how John confided in her that he and Marlena had a fight and he stood up for her when Marlena wanted to kick her out. Kristen tells Marlena not to deny it and complains about Marlena wanting to kick her out in to the cold, days before Christmas. Kristen asks how Brady feels about that.

Eric tells Nicole that Marlena said she was injured, so he rushed over as soon as he could. Nicole says she’s fine and it’s just a sprain. EJ adds that the doctor said she could be discharged. Eric calls that good news. EJ notes that she will still need rest to heal and that’s why she’s coming home with him. EJ thanks Eric for coming as Eric then turns and exits.

Xander asks Johnny is sure that Ava is still alive. Johnny tells him that he can go see for himself as Rafe is there questioning her. Xander is shocked that she’s there at the hospital. Johnny confirms she was caught in the blast. Xander doesn’t get why Ava was anywhere near the bomb if she planted it. Johnny explains that she didn’t know Tripp was going to be in the chapel when the bomb went off, so she found out and tried to get him out, but she was too late.

Rafe handcuffs Ava to the hospital bed. Ava jokes about hearing Nicole moved on already so Rafe is back on the market. Rafe tells her to shut up and reminds her that she has the right to remain silent. Tripp asks if they really have to do this right now when Ava just regained consciousness. Tripp starts coughing again, so Steve worries that he may have smoke inhalation and wants him checked out. Tripp tells Ava that he will be right back as he’s going to be there for her no matter what. Steve and Tripp then exit together. Rafe tells Ava that she managed to cheat death yet again but this time, she’s going to have to live with the consequences of her actions as she’s going away for a very long time. Ava says they’ll see about that.

Kristen asks Brady if he wants the mother of his child to be kicked to the curb and suggests she could stay at the Salem Inn. Brady assures that he wants her here so they can be a family for Christmas. Kristen says that’s what she wants and declares that it’s settled that she is staying. Kristen tells Marlena that she’s so glad she’s still alive to celebrate the holiday with Brady, Rachel, her, and John. Kristen jokes that she believes it will be a joyous time as she exits the room.

Eric stares in the hospital room window at EJ and Nicole. Rafe comes off the elevator and tells Eric that he just heard about Nicole, so he asks how she’s doing. Eric responds that Nicole is doing great as EJ is taking care of her now. Eric then walks away as Rafe looks in through the window and shakes his head, seeing EJ and Nicole laughing together.

Sarah goes over to Johnny and tells him that EJ and Nicole are going to be okay. Johnny thanks her for taking care of them. Johnny notices the balloons and tells Sarah happy birthday. Sarah talks about Xander planning this surprise for her and asks if he’s seen him at all. Johnny says he was right there, but like the rest of them, he was pretty spooked when he found out Ava was still alive.

Xander sneaks in to Ava’s hospital room. Ava remarks that it’s just like old times. Ava brings up how Kristen and Dr. Rolf raised her from the dead and Xander took care of her, so now he’s going to take care of her again. Xander asks what she means. Ava instructs Xander to get her out of the handcuffs and then out of the hospital, warning that if he doesn’t, she’s going to tell Sarah that he was her accomplice in kidnapping Susan and Bonnie.

Kristen questions John telling her that he and Marlena got in a fight about her. John claims it was right in the middle of the town square in front of everybody. Kristen asks if he’s joking but John says that shoppers were stopping and staring because they got so loud. Kristen doesn’t understand why they were fighting about her.

Brady questions Eric saying that he’s quitting his job at Basic Black. Brady argues that Eric had one rough night. Eric says that’s not the reason he’s leaving. Brady asks if it’s the pay or the schedule and offers to fix it. Eric responds that it’s nothing he can fix as he just doesn’t want to work with Nicole. Brady doesn’t understand until Eric reveals that they broke up.

EJ says he can’t imagine where Johnny went since he knows his grandmother’s service is about to start. Marlena mentions seeing Johnny outside and that he said he was looking for a woman which EJ questions.

Johnny finds Ava outside the church and questions how this is possible since they said nobody could have survived that crash. Ava guesses she’s hard to kill. Johnny asks if she’s just been in Salem this whole time. Johnny brings up EJ saying he saw her and then thinking it was a hallucination but he guesses it was real. Johnny asks if this means Susan is alive too but Ava says she’s afraid not. Johnny questions how. Ava explains that she jumped out of the car but Susan did not. Johnny asks what’s going on, why Ava is here and in a disguise.

EJ questions why Johnny would be chasing down some woman. Sister Mary Moira mentions seeing Johnny earlier and says he ran off to go after this woman. EJ argues that whatever it was could have waited until after Susan’s service. EJ wonders where Johnny is and remarks that the clock is ticking, while he is unaware that Ava’s bomb under the table counts down from 53 minutes.

Stefan and Chloe work together at DiMera Enterprises. Stefan tells Chloe that she’s free to go and he will finish up but Chloe says she doesn’t mind staying. Stefan asks if there’s no where else she’d rather be. Chloe tells him about how she and Brady were supposed to be in New York today as he had gotten her tickets to one of her all time favorite operas and they were going to meet her mother for an early dinner, mentioning that she got a new dress and shoes for it. Chloe admits she was really looking forward to it until Brady dumped her for Kristen.

Brady questions Eric about his breakup with Nicole. Eric responds that he’s not sure they were ever back together. Brady remembers Eric being upset the other day when he came to talk to her but he just figured they were having a disagreement. Eric responds that there’s a lot more to it than that. Brady understands things are difficult for them with Jada being pregnant but talks about how Eric was confident that he could co-parent with Jada while being with Nicole, so he questions what the hell happened. Eric says that things changed. Brady gets that it’s complicated and Nicole will be insecure about Eric having a baby with his ex. Brady talks about how Jada will be the mother of Eric’s child but Nicole is the woman he loves. Eric then stops him and reveals that there is no more baby because Nicole talked Jada in to having an abortion.

Nicole guesses the woman Johnny went after must be pretty important. EJ asks if Johnny said anything else. Marlena says all he said to her was that he called out to her but she didn’t turn around, so he didn’t get a chance to talk to her. Sister Mary Moira mentions not seeing any woman. EJ remarks that if any of them were to hallucinate, they’re likely to see someone evil…

Ava claims to Johnny that she’s here to pay respects to Susan and she’s incognito because she didn’t think she’d be welcomed. Johnny is not sure he buys that as he can’t believe she has any interest in honoring Susan considering what she did to her. Ava says she’s truly sorry that Susan became collateral damage in the war between herself and EJ, but argues that it’s a war that EJ started when he tried to make her leave town. Ava says she’s sorry but she couldn’t stand for that and brings up that Johnny couldn’t either.

Sister Mary Moira complains about waiting and says they need to reunite Susan with their lord right away. EJ brings up Johnny. She argues that the kingdom of Heaven is waiting for Susan’s arrival, so she doesn’t want to wait another minute longer, while the bomb counts down from 48 minutes.

Stefan tells Chloe that he’s sorry that Brady ruined her plans for the night. Chloe says it’s okay as he already ruined their entire future and this is just one opera. Stefan understands that Brady hurt her badly, so she’s allowed to be upset, but he was under the impression that she was getting over it. Chloe says she is and knows that Brady only ended things with her and moved Kristen in because it’s what best for Rachel. Chloe argues that Brady could co-parent without moving Kristen in so soon, so it just makes her think that Brady had feelings for Kristen this entire time. Stefan says he’s sorry and comments that it seems to be weighing heavily on her. Stefan promises that by New Year’s, she will have forgotten all about Brady when he takes her off to Miami. Chloe says that sounds pretty damn good as they kiss.

Brady sits with Eric and says he’s sorry as he had no idea what he was dealing with. Brady says Nicole was wrong in talking to Jada, but it sounds like Jada made the decision that was best for her, so he thinks it’s unfair to blame Nicole. Eric argues that Nicole went behind his back and gave Jada this whole speech about how hard single motherhood would be but that doesn’t really matter anymore. Brady questions why they broke up. Eric says they are just different and not good for each other anymore. Eric says they got wrapped up in a forbidden love but came crashing back to Earth and remembered why it didn’t work out. Eric mentions that he and Nicole had another fight this morning after she trailed him to Sloan Peterson’s apartment and railed him for sleeping with Sloan, which Brady is shocked to hear. Eric explains that Sloan offered to take on his case and one thing led to another. Brady asks if he’s sure that’s the path he wants to go down. Eric says he can’t turn back now. Brady acknowledges that Sloan is attractive but brings up her reputation and what she did to Paulina, Chanel, and Abe. Brady questions if Eric really wants to get mixed up with a person like this. Eric calls that really classy coming from a guy who is shacking up with Kristen DiMera.

John tells Kristen that he shouldn’t say anything but Kristen argues that she deserves to know if they are fighting over her. Kristen says it’s obviously on his mind and encourages him to tell her. John then claims that Marlena wants to kick Kristen out of the house, but he’s not okay with that. Kristen questions that since he wasn’t exactly welcoming with open arms. John admits he had his suspicions when she first moved in, but claims he’s softened his stance a little. John explains that the whole idea that she was there to suck Brady back in is all that Marlena sees. John says Marlena gets blinded by her worries about Kristen manipulating Brady. John adds that Marlena doesn’t understand why Brady broke up with Chloe and moved Kristen in, so now Marlena worries that Brady is in danger of falling for Kristen all over again. Kristen asks what John thinks. John responds that he thinks she belongs with her daughter.

Johnny admits to Ava that he was pretty upset when EJ kicked her out, but now he’s starting to think he might have done the right thing. Ava questions what that means. Johnny argues that EJ didn’t start the war, Ava did when she faked her marriage to Jake. Ava thought he understood that. Johnny says he was wrong. Johnny argues that Ava tried to defraud his family while lying and stealing from them. Johnny declares that he was wrong to defend her. Ava questions where this is coming from and brings up how Johnny was as upset as she was when EJ kicked her out. Johnny screams that was before she killed his grandmother.

The priest asks if they should begin but EJ refuses to start the ceremony until Johnny arrives. Tripp then shows up and confronts EJ, calling him the son of a bitch who killed his mom.

Stefan and Chloe kiss until Stefan’s computer goes off with work alerts. Stefan decides he can make it to Susan’s memorial on time. Chloe offers to go with him. Stefan tells her that she doesn’t have to but Chloe says she wants to pay her respects to Susan since she was always kind to her. Stefan says he loves having her by his side so they exit together.

Nicole tells Tripp that EJ didn’t kill Ava as she drove off the road and it was an accident. Tripp argues that EJ was in hot pursuit because he hated Ava and wanted her gone, so he forced her to crash. EJ calls that insane and says he was trying to catch up to them to rescue Susan. Nicole tries to explain and defend EJ but Tripp tells her to save it, because the last person he wants to hear from is the tramp who slept with his mom’s boyfriend behind her back.

Ava tells Johnny that she didn’t kill Susan. Johnny points out that she did kidnap her and asks why she did it. Ava argues that she wasn’t going to let EJ push her around and just run away because he said to. Ava says she needed to hurt EJ as much as he hurt her. Johnny questions her using an innocent woman as a weapon. Ava argues that EJ disrespected her so he needed to pay. Johnny shouts that EJ wired her $30 million dollars, so she got what she wanted and asks why she couldn’t have just left instead of kidnapping Susan. Ava asks why EJ couldn’t have just paid her the money. Johnny says that he did but Ava reveals that first, EJ kidnapped Tripp.

Kristen questions John thinking she belongs with her daughter and asks if he thinks that means she belongs with Brady. John clarifies that he didn’t say that, just that he and Marlena have a fundamental difference of opinion about her. John states that Marlena thinks Kristen is a really bad person, while he does not.

Brady tells Eric that he’s not shacking up with Kristen. Eric points out that he is living with her. Brady argues that he moved her in because it’s best for Rachel and there’s nothing romantic going on as they aren’t even sleeping in the same room. Eric reminds him that it’s exactly how it started last time when Kristen was pregnant and moved in to the Kiriakis Mansion. Eric says that Kristen manipulated him then and wormed her way in to his house and his bed. Brady assures that there is zero chance of Kristen ending up in his bed. Eric asks if he’s still attracted to Kristen. Brady responds that he’s attracted to vodka too but he manages to control himself because he knows the road leads to disaster. Eric argues that it’s only a matter of time before Brady can’t fight it anymore. Brady says he may always be attracted to Kristen but swears he’s not going to go anywhere near her after what she did. Eric questions what he’s talking about and asks what she did to him.

EJ yells at Tripp not to speak to Nicole like that. EJ understands Tripp is dealing with a great deal of pain. Tripp argues that EJ is to blame for all of this and says none of this would have happened if he didn’t order Ava to leave town. EJ argues that if Ava left town, she’d be alive and well, but Ava escalated the situation by kidnapping his mother. Tripp argues that EJ escalated it by kidnapping him, which surprises the rest of the room.

Johnny questions EJ kidnapping Tripp. Ava guesses EJ left that part out and says he was held hostage in Seattle. Johnny asks if he’s alright. Ava confirms that Steve and Kayla rescued him but says who knows what would’ve happened if they hadn’t. Ava argues that she’s not the only one who dragged an innocent person in to this since EJ tried to one up her. Johnny points out that Tripp was freed but Ava still had Susan and EJ would’ve done anything to get her back. Johnny questions why Ava instead drove her off a cliff.

Tripp tells everyone at the church that EJ had him kidnapped. Tripp assumes it’s because he just didn’t want to pay his own mother’s ransom. Nicole thinks back to EJ telling her that he thought he could outsmart Ava and get Susan back without paying the ransom. Tripp points out that EJ isn’t denying it. Tripp calls EJ scum and says he cheaped out on his own mother and bullied his mother, so now they are both dead. Sister Mary Moira says that’s enough and argues that her sister’s soul is hanging in the balance, so she will not listen to another word.

Kristen questions John not thinking she’s a bad person. John says he doesn’t think Marlena does either but her view is colored by their romantic past. John admits he may be biased, but he remembers who Kristen was when he first met her as a social worker. They reminisce about how they did Little League with the kids. John says Kristen made a difference on a lot of people’s lives and that’s not a bad person. Kristen points out that was a long time ago. John says when Kristen first moved in, he didn’t know what his motives were but the longer she’s been here, his concerns have started to fade because he sees the good Kristen that he fell in love with.

Eric asks Brady what Kristen did. Chloe and Stefan walk through the town square and see them. Eric asks Brady again what Kristen did. Chloe tells Stefan they can just go but Stefan confronts Brady and asks him for the tickets to the opera that he was supposed to take Chloe to, so that they can exchange them for another performance and suggests on Valentine’s Day. Eric argues that they were in the middle of something. Stefan accuses Brady of bailing on Chloe and not even remembering, asking if he has any idea how much this night meant to her. Stefan asks if that’s how much Brady cares about Chloe. Brady says he cares about her more than he knows. Stefan says so much that he tossed her aside for Kristen. Brady tells him that’s not what happened. Stefan declares that at least now Chloe is with someone who truly cares about her and treats her like she deserves to be instead of making her feel disposable. Chloe tries to get Stefan to go but Stefan wants to make sure he makes it to the opera. Brady remarks that Stefan can take the DiMera jet and fly the whole company in for a private show. Stefan tells Brady that he really blew it as he had the most wonderful woman on the planet and he threw her aside like garbage while at least now she’s with a real man. Brady then punches Stefan in the face. Chloe asks what the hell is wrong with Brady. Stefan calls Brady out of control just like Eric and says they are both raging jerks who think nothing about assaulting people. Stefan remarks that Eric seems to have calmed down a bit since his stint in jail. Stefan suggests he should call the cops, so they can teach Brady the same lesson. Chloe asks if he really thinks that’s necessary. Brady tells Stefan to go for it and offers him his phone to call the cops.

John talks about the Kristen he knew having a real calling for serving other people including Marlena when she was possessed. John recalls Kristen getting him to see the truth and how they helped Marlena. John calls it ironic that Marlena is so convinced that Kristen has these evil intentions when she is the one who saved Marlena from being possessed. John comments that Kristen was a real friend to Marlena. John says he can’t understand why Marlena can’t find it in her heart to be a friend to Kristen now.

Johnny asks Ava what happened on the road that night, if she lost control of the car or if she crashed it on purpose? Johnny asks if she was going to hurt EJ by killing Susan. Sister Mary Moira comes out from the church and tells Johnny that they were wondering where he went. Johnny apologizes and says he just ran in to an old friend. Sister Mary Moira mocks that getting in the way of the fate of Susan’s soul. Johnny apologizes and hopes he didn’t miss the service. She tells him that EJ refused to start without him and then Tripp stormed in and started yelling at EJ about kidnapping him.

EJ tells Tripp that he’s sorry he’s upset but says they have tolerated this interruption enough. Tripp questions if wanting an explanation for his mother’s death is an annoyance to him. EJ suggests Marlena might be better suited to deal with this. Tripp tells him not to try to pawn him off on Marlena or pacify him with fake sympathy. Tripp declares that they are going to hash this out right here and now. EJ responds that they are going to pay respects to his mother and Tripp is going to get the hell out of here. Tripp then sits down and declares that he’s not going anywhere. The bomb under the table counts down from 13 minutes.

John tells Kristen that he loves Marlena with all of his heart but her lack of care can be frustrating to him. Kristen points out that there was a time when Marlena was willing to try. John remembers when Kristen was pregnant with Rachel and Marlena called it a new beginning for all of them, but clearly it wasn’t. Kristen guesses Marlena still can’t see past her mistakes. John urges that she needs to see how much Kristen loves her daughter and that’s why Brady moved her in. John talks about he and Brady seeing that Kristen is a really good mother and person. Kristen gets emotional and responds that she’s not a good person.

Brady tells Stefan to go ahead and call the cops. Chloe suggests they just go. Stefan brings up that EJ declined to press charges against Eric, so he guesses he can do the same for Brady. Stefan remarks that a jail sentence is temporary compared to the time that Brady will spend regretting letting Chloe go because that’s forever. Stefan and Chloe then walk away. Eric asks Brady if he’s okay. Brady responds that just seeing Chloe with Stefan makes him a little crazy. Eric says he gets it but questions why he gave Chloe up if he loves her so much.

Stefan tells Chloe that he’s sorry about that. Chloe says Brady is the one who should be sorry. Stefan says he shouldn’t have let Brady provoke him like that and that he just hates the way he treated her. Stefan assures that Chloe will make it to the opera with the best seats in the house. Chloe says she can’t wait and notes that Stefan’s bleeding has stopped but he got a little bit of blood on his shirt. Stefan guesses he can’t go to the memorial like that. Chloe thinks it’s probably over by now anyway. Stefan then invites Chloe to join him at the reception at the DiMera Mansion.

After Sister Mary Moira informs Johnny and Ava that Tripp is in the church, Ava begins to panic and decides she has to get in there, so she runs back in to the church.

Marlena tells Tripp that she would like to hear what he’s feeling but this is not the time or place. Tripp knows she means well but says he’s not going anywhere. Tripp questions why he should let EJ grieve for his mother when EJ took his mother from him. EJ then grabs Tripp but Tripp repeats that he’s not leaving. Ava then rushes in and tells Tripp that he needs to come with her right now, shocking both EJ and Tripp.

John asks Kristen what she means by saying she’s not a good person. John says he’s not being judgmental and asks what she did.

Eric reminds Brady that he said Kristen did something and asks what that was. Brady asks him to forget it but Eric refuses since she is living in his mother’s house. Eric demands to know why Kristen is living there since they both know it’s not what is best for Rachel. Eric asks Brady again why he would move that psycho in. Brady then responds that he didn’t have a choice and reveals that Kristen blackmailed him to force him to move her in and to break up with Chloe.

Stefan and Chloe go back to the DiMera Mansion. Stefan wonders what is keeping everyone and says they should’ve been back by now. Chloe says the events can be emotional. Stefan mentions that EJ was adamant about keeping it short since he was the only one scheduled to speak. Chloe suggests maybe they had an unexpected guest…

Young & The Restless Update

Update written by Barbara

At the Abbott house, Kyle returns from his time away sooner than expected, with time to help Summer finish decorating the Christmas tree. Jack and Traci talk about hanging the special Abbott ornaments. Jack, Kyle and Summer make sure that Traci continues to have no idea that Diane is hiding in the family cabin. As Traci leaves to go out for drinks with a friend, she says that she has a feeling that everything is going to be alright. After Traci leaves, Summer urges Kyle and Jack to be careful since they’re leaving to deal with Jeremy.

Summer goes to Jabot and is surprised to find her mother there. Phyllis tells her that she is cleaning out the things from her office. They talk back and forth, with Summer saying that she hopes they can move past what has happened and be a family again.

Phyllis mentions how upset she is about how her daughter fired her as an act of solidarity with Diane, and says that she has no intention to get over it anytime in the near future.  Summer remains steadfast that Phyllis being fired was due to her actions, since she encouraged a dangerous man to come to Genoa City in her attempt to get Diane to leave.

Kyle and Jack arrive at Jeremy’s hotel suite and Kyle knocks on the door. Jeremy gestures for them to come in.  He lets them know that he heard that Diane left Genoa City again and says what a shame he thinks it is. Kyle tries to get at Jeremy but Jack stops him.

He and Kyle stick to their story that Diane left town with nary a word, and has gone who knows where. Jeremy suggests that perhaps they’ve got Diane stashed until he leaves, but Jack steers Jeremy the conversation to money. He urges Jeremy to accept his offer because it’s the closest he’ll get to reimbursement. Jeremy says he won’t make any promises.

Ashley and Tucker are at Crimson Lights where she continues to be leery of Tucker’s motives behind him wanting her to build a new empire. Tucker tells her that he’s only interested in her happiness and thinks she could be a huge success at it.

She asks Tucker why she would need him then and he admits that she wouldn’t, although he thinks they could be good together. Ashley decides to head home but not before thanking Tucker for picnic earlier.

Jack and Kyle return to the Abbott house and tell Summer about having made an offer to Jeremy. Jack says that now they have to wait because Jeremy was open to considering it.

Ashley comes in the front door, and much to the relief of Jack, Kyle and Summer, who are quiet, Ashley says that she’s going upstairs to take a bath.

Once she has left the room, Kyle says that he hates the idea of Diane feeling abandoned on Christmas and that he wants to quietly go back to the cabin. Summer is taken aback that he would do that on Christmas eve at the Abbott house. Kyle tells her and Jack that they didn’t see the tears in his mother’s eyes when he said good bye to her.

At Chelsea’s apartment, she and Billy have movie night, munching on popcorn and watching  “It’s a Wonderful Life.”  She says that although a few scenes will be a challenge for her to see, the overall story is filled with hope about someone realizing the value of life.

There’s a knock on the door and it’s Adam, showing up with gifts for Chelsea and Connor. He hesitates when he sees Billy sitting on the couch. Billy says that he was just going to head out. Once he’s gone, Adam tells Chelsea that he assumes she is not up for the big Newman family gathering. She surprises him by saying that she wants to go and tells him that after talking with Sharon, she wants start trying to live a normal life again.

Phyllis goes to the coffeehouse and slumps to put her head down on the counter. Tucker sees her and remarks that it looks like someone’s having “a hell of a day.” Phyllis tells him that she didn’t ask him and he goes on to suggest that she stop fighting the world so hard because it tends to make you feel better.

Over at Society, Devon and Lily tell Daniel that they are greenlighting his gaming endeavor with Hamilton-Winters. However, Devon is a bit concerned because Daniel doesn’t have his creative team together yet and it takes time with huge undertakings.

Daniel says he wants to announce the gaming platform in March, but Devon thinks this three month timetable is unrealistic.  Daniel questions him, which results in Lily suggesting that they table the discussion for now.

When Daniel realizes Phyllis is available to be hired, he presses her to join his new gaming platform. He says that since Phyllis is a gamer and a high level hacker, he thinks she’s a good fit for his platform. He tells her that he wants her to join him in solidifying his platform he is going to have with Chancellor-Winters.

Downstairs at the coffeehouse, Billy is waiting for Lily. When she gets there, they speak uncomfortably. When Lily mentions the idea of couples counseling, Billy says that she must think he’s going off the rails. Lily tells him this is not the case, rather, she doesn’t think they can handle what’s going on between them on their own. Billy is amenable and says that he will set something up with couples counseling after the holidays. They hold hands across the table.

Back in Jeremy’s hotel suite, he is on the phone with someone about having unfinished business in Genoa City and mentions that he has some “stuff” to take care of on his own.

Update written by Dustin

At Sonny’s penthouse, Nina found a crayon drawing stuffed in the cushions of the couch with the word “MOMMY” written on it.. Sonny came in, and he said that he was glad that Donna and Nina had started to grow close. Nina recalled that Josslyn had stopped by to point out that  Nina was not allowed to spend time with Donna. Nina wondered if spending time with Donna was worth it.

Nina shared that because Nelle had been taken away from her at birth, she had a hole in her heart that she would always try to heal. She said that the more time she spent with Donna the more she was afraid that she was opening her heart to  heartbreak at a later date. Sonny understood, but he didn’t think she had anything to worry about. Nina still insisted that she should keep her distance from Donna. Sonny agreed to Nina’s new terms (despite how much grief he had been put through getting Carly to agree to allow Nina to see Donna in the first place), but he said there was nothing he would like more than for Nina to have a close relationship with Donna.

In a private room of Metro Court, Denise told Carly that Drew no longer had a reason to search for Willow’s birth mother. Carly asked about Willow’s biological father. Denise remarked that the check Carly had given her would only cover one deceased parent and that information on Willow’s father would cost Carly more.

Denise threatened to expose Carly for the lies she had told Drew and Willow. Carly was disgusted, but needed the information so she gave Denise another check. She told Denise that she was an awful person. “It could be worse. I could be paying someone to lie about someone else’s parents being dead. At least I own who I am and what I’m doing. Trust me, your life would be a lot easier if you looked in the mirror and did the same,” Denise told Carly.

At the Metro Court restaurant, Drew shared with Willow’s biological mother had died. Drew encouraged Willow not to give up hope. An upset Willow left to go for some air. Outside on the patio, Willow struggled to control her emotions. Drew found Willow, and he realized she was in tears.  It was at that moment, that Drew connected all the times that Willow had looked pale, when she had passed out, when she had felt faint, when she said she was “just tired.”  “Oh, my God.  You’re sick, aren’t you? He asked.

Willow shared that she had Stage 4 leukemia, and she added that she didn’t know how much time she had unless she could find a family member for a bone marrow donation. Drew hugged Willow and did his best to consoler her.

Willow said that although she was receiving chemotherapy, it wasn’t enough. Drew was sympathetic, and Willow asked Drew to promise that he wouldn’t tell anyone that Willow was sick. “Not even Carly,” Willow emphasized.

Carly told Willow she was sorry that her birth mother was dead. She said that Willow had all the family she needed in Port Charles. Willow thanked Drew, and she left. Afterwards, Carly remarked that she hadn’t realized how important it was for Willow to find her birth parents. “Neither did I,” Drew replied.

At Charlie’s Pub, Alexis and Gregory shared cocktails before Finn arrived at the bar. Alexis asked Gregory to give her a chance to talk privately to Finn, and Gregory agreed. Finn then told Alexis that things between him and Elizabeth were over.

Finn left the pub, and afterwards, Gregory said that his family was in Alexis’ debt. Later, outside Charlie’s, Ava encountered Finn. Ava asked what was on Finn’s mind. He totally ignored her and walked away.

At Wyndemere, Ava wanted to discuss her marriage to Nikolas. Nikolas said that while he wanted Ava to move back in, the timing was wrong because Spencer had just moved back in, as well. Ava said she hoped Nikolas would “press pause” on their plans for divorce. Elizabeth arrived in the foyer.

A surprised Ava wanted to learn from Nikolas why Elizabeth was at Wyndemere and why she had her own set of keys to the castle. Elizabeth made up an excuse about Nikolas having volunteered his family’s history for a school project that Aiden was working on. Ava bid Nikolas goodnight, and she left.

Alone in the living room, Nikolas shared that he and Elizabeth would have to be careful because Spencer had moved back into the mansion. Elizabeth replied that that wasn’t their only concern, and she handed Nikolas the bottle of prenatal vitamins. “Congratulations! You’re gonna be a father again… to my child,” Elizabeth said with a smile.

Elizabeth called her ridiculous plan to tell Finn that the prenatal vitamins he had found at GH and Wyndemere were hers.  She wanted to tell Finn the truth but Nikolas told her that if she did, Finn would send the cops to Spoon Island and she and Nikolas would likely go down for the false imprisonment of Esme.  He warned that this could mean she would be required to serve time away from her boys. Elizabeth couldn’t believe that she had become the kind of person that would go along with Nikolas’ plan.  Nikolas said that sometimes you had to do deplorable things because they were in the interest of the greater good.  Elizabeth said that if that were true that he must sacrifice his relationship with Ava, so that he could concentrate on the task at hand; keeping Esme off the streets.

Update written by Dustin

Sam met Maxie at the café, and Sam questioned Maxie on why they were meeting.  Maxie mentioned that she thought that Sam would be the best possible person to provide her with some well-needed perspective on her current situation. She told Sam about what had transpired between Austin and Spinelli. The lying, the blackmail, the ordering of her and Austin’s compatibility report behind her back and Spinelli’s constant interference in her relationship with Austin. Maxie mentioned that she had trusted Austin when they first met but that trust had faded. Maxie confessed that perhaps Spinelli and Georgie had been right from the beginning and she should have trusted their intuition.  Sam advised Maxie to reassess her entire situation using her own intuition and then proceed accordingly.

Nikolas arrived at the gallery, startling Ava. He told her that he would always love her, and she replied wistfully, “If only that was all it took to fix things.” She invited him to join her for takeout, but he said he would not be staying. He admitted that he was only there to make a special delivery. He handed her an incredibly thick group of papers and a pen. Ava looked at the papers and all the happiness drained for her face.  “Divorce papers?” she snapped.  She believed that something had driven him to go ahead with the divorce and Victor was first in line. After some badgering, he blurted out that he’d had an affair with Elizabeth.

Ava wanted details of the affair, but Nikolas would only tell her that Elizabeth was pregnant. He was determined not to fail another child. He advised her to look at the very generous offer. Ava saw a letter opener on the table and picked it up. She swung at him, but only pinned the papers to the wall. “That’s what I think of your offer,” she murmured. “You could have killed me!” he exclaimed. “Remember that,” she shot back. He apologized, as he’d never wanted to hurt her. “God have mercy on you because you’ll get none from me,” she said coldly, and he left.

Josslyn arrived at Kelly’s with an armful of toys for donation, and Dex offered to help her, but she insisted that she could do it herself. With Spencer acting incredibly rude toward Dex, Dex asked Cameron to cancel his order, and said that he would gladly go to another restaurant. Cameron said that was fine, but Spencer demanded that Dex pay for his order. Dex smugly took out a roll of                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     cash and told Spencer that Sonny paid him well. Spencer punched Dex, who fell on the floor. Dex popped back up, and Spencer dared Dex to punch him.

Cameron separated Spencer and Dex, and Josslyn couldn’t believe that Spencer was already causing problems, freshly out of prison. Spencer explained that Cameron had told him that Dex had put Josslyn in danger, and he yelled at Dex to leave. Josslyn assured Dex that he didn’t have to listen to Spencer. “You have no clue what I do or don’t have to do,” Dex responded, and he left Kelly’s. Cameron didn’t want Spencer to hurt people because of anything he had said. Spencer believed that the attitude of his group of friends had changed in his absence, and he said he didn’t believe he was no longer wanted or needed.  Spencer then stormed out. Cameron suggested that, with all the craziness around them, he and Josslyn go somewhere nice, just the two of them. Josslyn said that sounded really nice but they needed to talk first.

Rory arrived outside at the address of an apartment that he had gained knowledge of by improperly looking through Dante’s filed. He knocked. The door opened when he knocked, so he announced himself and went in. The door slammed shut behind him, and the Hook appeared. From outside the apartment, Dante heard gunshots and called for backup. He announced himself and kicked in the door to the apartment. He found a man bleeding on the floor and checked for a pulse. Just then, Rory emerged, bleeding, from another room. He fell onto the couch and told Dante it had been, “The Hook.”

Trina entered Jordan’s office and asked if she’d seen Rory. Jordan informed Trina that Rory was probably around the station somewhere, as his shift had just ended. Jordan advised Trina to stick around because Rory would love to see Trina. “Not for long,” Trina muttered. She excused herself to go to Kelly’s, and she left. A few minutes later, Jordan’s phone rang, and she learned of Dante’s call for backup.

Jordan arrived at the apartment which was now an official crime scene.  The suspect lay on the floor with what appeared to be at least one gunshot wound to the chest. Dante explained that he had to have just missed the killer, and the woman they suspected could have jumped out the window. Jordan advised an officer to set up a 10 block perimeter to look for the killer. Jordan didn’t think Rory could wait for the ambulance, so Dante and the other officer carried Rory out of the apartment. Jordan put in a call for the medical examiner and crime scene unit to get to the apartment.

At General Hospital, Portia showed Elizabeth some of her options for wedding dresses. However, Portia was unsure about getting married in February, when “the Hook” killer was still on the loose. Elizabeth thought it would give everyone in Port Charles something nice to look forward to. Portia reminded Elizabeth that she and Finn hadn’t yet RSVP’d. Elizabeth said that she would definitely be there, but she couldn’t speak for Finn, as they had ended their relationship.

Gregory ran into Finn at the elevators on the 10th floor of General Hospital, he insisted on taking him to dinner. He knew that Finn hadn’t been doing well, and he told Finn that Violet had also picked up on it. Finn admitted that he and Elizabeth were through. Gregory wondered if Finn wanted to salvage the relationship, but the conversation was interrupted.

Jordan arrived with Rory, Dante, and the other officers, and Portia, Finn, and Elizabeth got Rory onto a stretcher. Dante revealed that they’d need the antivenom, as Rory had been attacked by the Hook.

At Volonino’s gym, Curtis helped Alexis out with the punching bag. He explained that they needed to “establish a winning mindset” before they tried to catch a serial killer. A short while later, Alexis emerged from the locker room after having changed. Curtis told her that the PCPD had been “tight-lipped” with any information about “the Hook” killer, and Alexis wasn’t sure what else they could do.

Dex arrived at the gym, and thought about Josslyn as he beat up the punching bag. Curtis returned a short while later and eyed Dex, deeming him far enough away to talk to Alexis. As Curtis explained that Ryan didn’t think that Esme was the killer, his phone rang, Jordan asked Curtis to pick up Trina and bring her immediately to the GH, as there had been another attack. While he talked to Jordan, Alexis got a text from Gregory that read, “911 at GH.” They ran out, Dex thought about Josslyn more as he worked over the punching bag.

Spencer ran into Trina as he exited Kelly’s. He sarcastically talked about how he wasn’t supposed to stick up for anyone anymore. Whatever he’d done, Trina said she was sure that his heart had been in the right place, and he probably just needed to work on his execution. He figured he could do that the next time he was in town. He revealed that he was leaving as soon as the terms of his prison release were met, as Port Charles was no longer a home. He said, “I’m going to move on, and I’m going to disappoint strangers” instead of the people he loved.

Curtis arrived with news for Trina that he said Cameron and Josslyn needed to hear, also. The three went into Kelly’s, and Curtis informed the kids that they needed to go with him to the hospital immediately, on Jordan’s orders, as she wanted eyes on all four of them. He revealed that there had been another attack. Trina asked who had been attacked, and Curtis reluctantly answered that it was Rory.

At the hospital, Alexis asked Dante if the Hook killer had struck again. Jordan ordered Dante to go get cleaned up, so he left. Jordan stated that an officer was fighting for his life after a cowardly and brutal attack, and she would do anything she could for justice. “I’ll be damned if we lose another one of our own, and you can quote me on that,” she added, and she walked away.

In the operating room, Finn, Portia, and Elizabeth worked on Rory. Finn ordered Elizabeth to administer the antivenom, but she reminded him that it was in short supply. Finn replied that the poison would kill Rory if the injuries didn’t, so she injected the antivenom into the I.V.

Jordan informed Dante that Mac was at the apartment, and Dante offered to see if Mac needed help. But , Jordan refused and said she wanted him to stay at the hospital, as he needed to see things through for Rory’s sake. Trina and Curtis arrived with Josslyn, Cameron and Spencer in tow.  Trina immediately asked how Rory was doing. Portia told her that Rory had lost a lot of blood, and he was bleeding internally. Trina wanted to see him, but Portia added that he was very weak. But moments later Rory was being wheeled to the elevators, and Trina ran over to him. He took his oxygen mask off and groaned that he knew it had been too soon to tell her how he felt about her, but he wasn’t sorry for doing it. “When you know, you know,” he said, and he passed out.
