Days of Our Lives Update

Li Shin returns home from Hong Kong and goes over how all he comes back to are bills and his divorce papers. Megan then shows up at his door. Li acknowledges her as the person who stole that crystal from him. Megan argues that it was never really his to begin with. Li tries to shut the door on her but Megan says not so fast as they have important business to discuss.

Gabi joins Stefan in the living room of the DiMera Mansion. Gabi announces that her divorce from Li is final so she is a single woman. Stefan says not for long as he hears wedding bells in their future. Gabi can’t wait to be his wife again as they kiss. Gabi comments on them as Salem’s power couple. EJ walks in and says he wouldn’t be so sure about that.

Eric runs in to Nicole in the town square. Eric asks if there’s any news on Abe. Nicole says no as Sloan’s brother continues to deny any involvement in Abe’s disappearance. Eric points out that Sloan believes him and so does Rafe. Nicole states that she will keep praying that they find Abe soon. Nicole starts to walk away but Eric stops her and asks how everything is going. Nicole assumes he’s talking about the pregnancy. Nicole mentions that her and EJ have a meeting tomorrow with a specialist for high risk pregnancies. Eric hopes everything works out.

At the Spectator, Chloe complains that Leo doesn’t know what he’s talking about because Xander and Sarah are over for good and there is no reason to think that would change.

Bonnie tells herself that she can keep Sarah’s pregnancy a secret easily but she’ll just have to stay away from Xander. Xander then enters the room and asks if he heard his name, startling Bonnie. Bonnie claims that she just heard him coming and asks him to stay the hell away from her. Xander tells her not to freak out, then says he knows exactly why this is happening. Bonnie questions who told him. Xander guesses she’s still afraid of him because he held her captive a killer clown. Bonnie claims that is why she freaked out when she saw him. Xander guesses she probably had flashbacks. Bonnie says that is so far in the past and she’s forgiven him, understanding that he was only driven to do that because he wanted to provide for Sarah. Bonnie talks about Xander and Sarah being divorced and that Sarah is gone, never coming back, and they are never getting back together. Bonnie claims she meant well which Xander questions her doing by reminding him how much Sarah hates him. Bonnie argues that Sarah doesn’t hate him, then claims she wouldn’t know, but encourages that it could change. Bonnie tries to leave but Xander stops her and questions why she ran away when he walked in if she’s not afraid of him anymore and has forgiven him.

Nicole tells Eric that there are no guarantees but a lot has changed since she had Holly including the treatment of high risk pregnancies like hers. Eric hopes she gets really good news tomorrow because after everything she’s been through, she really deserves this. Nicole is unsure but is happy that she gets to be a mom again. Nicole tells Eric to take care of himself and walks away.

EJ pours a drink while Stefan comments on it being early and questions him not heading to the office. EJ says he’d like to unwind first after an intense morning. EJ talks about doing a lot of research to find a specialist for Nicole and he’s flying one in tomorrow, who will hopefully tell them that Nicole will be able to carry their child to term. Stefan and Gabi say they hope it works out for them. Gabi then remarks that by the time the baby is born, EJ should be free to be a stay at home dad. EJ argues that his days will be anything but free because he will be making sure that his son or daughter inherits the legacy of his father’s company, so he will be doing everything possible to stop them from leaving it in ruins. Stefan argues that he doesn’t have the votes to stop them. EJ points out that they don’t have the votes to stop him. Gabi points out that they have each other and Kristen. EJ knows they believe they have secured Kristen’s support, but she tends to turn on a dime. EJ adds that he’s secured their other sister’s support, so while they may have Kristen for the time being, he has Megan’s.

Megan assumes that Li still has eyes and ears at DiMera, which he confirms. Megan acknowledges that he must be aware of the power struggle brewing then. Li calls it hard to miss and assumes she is here representing EJ’s interest. Megan responds that she is here representing her own interest. Megan comments that EJ is a sweet boy but when it comes to being ruthless and cut throat, he doesn’t bat in her league. Li reminds her that he’s out at DiMera. Megan notes that he still has a vote. Li informs her that he promised it to Gabi. Megan points out that Gabi has pledged her love to another man, so she questions why Li would allow someone who used and betrayed him to keep him from getting what he wants.

Nicole goes to see Chloe at the Spectator. Chloe hugs her and says she’s missed her as they’ve barely spoken since she left Basic Black. Nicole blames herself for not being better at keeping in touch. Chloe asks how she is and how it’s been teaming up with EJ. Nicole responds that life in general has been pretty eventful. Chloe asks what’s been going on with her. Nicole reveals that she’s pregnant which shocks Chloe.

Eric sits alone in the Brady Pub with a drink until Sloan joins him. Eric asks about her meeting with Melinda. Sloan informs him that it was a disaster as Colin is refusing to plead guilty and Melinda is out for blood. Sloan adds that Colin is facing a lot of time in prison because of what he did to Paulina on the rooftop and there’s nothing she can really do to help him. Sloan knows what Colin did was unspeakable to Abe, Paulina, and Chanel, but he’s still her family and the only family she has left. Eric encourages that she has him and he’s here for her as he hugs her.

Bonnie continues to explain herself to Xander and claims it’s because she was getting sick and didn’t want to get him sick. Xander says he was actually looking for Maggie and asks if she’s around. Bonnie thinks she’s upstairs. Xander then gets a news alert on his phone and says “wow, she’s pregnant”. Bonnie is confused and questions her telling him that she’s pregnant. Xander explains that he just got a news alert on his phone, then stops and questions who she thought was pregnant.

Sloan tells Eric that she wishes she could’ve helped Colin if she had known what was going on. Eric points out that she’s here now and he’s damn lucky to have her in his corner. Sloan responds that she’s lucky to have Eric in her corner and kisses him. They hug as Sloan thinks back to using her own cheek swab instead of Eric’s to fake the paternity test.

Xander asks Bonnie again who she thought he meant was pregnant. Bonnie claims it was the same person he’s talking about. Xander questions how she knew Nicole was pregnant when Leo’s column just posted. Bonnie claims to be a premium subscriber to Leo’s Lady Whistleblower column, so she gets the hot gossip before the general public. Xander tells her it was great catching up but he should go find Maggie. Bonnie asks what he has to talk to Maggie about. Xander says it’s nothing juicy, just that Maggie offered him Alex’s position at Titan, but he’s going to turn it down. Bonnie is surprised as she bets that job pays big bucks. Xander confirms that it does and as much as he loves Maggie, being his own boss at the Spectator means so much to him and he doesn’t want to sabotage what’s happening between he and Chloe. Bonnie can’t believe Xander and Chloe are an item. Xander responds that they are somewhat involved. Bonnie angrily questions what that means and exactly how involved they are, leaving Xander confused.

Chloe questions Nicole cheating on EJ with Eric. Nicole explains that it was a one night stand while they were under the influence of the hallucinogenic biscuits, so she didn’t know who the father was but she had a paternity test done and found out that EJ is the father. Nicole calls it a relief, but now her biggest concern is if she can carry the baby to term. Chloe tells Nicole that she’s there if she needs her again. Nicole thanks her but says there have been a lot of advancements and treatments in high risk pregnancies, so they are going to see a specialist tomorrow to see if she can carry the baby herself. Chloe prays that she gets good news. Chloe asks if EJ is happy. Nicole confirms that he’s over the moon. Chloe then asks if Nicole is in love with EJ. Nicole responds that EJ has been so good to her. Chloe points out that does not answer her question. Nicole states that’s the best answer she has right now. Chloe knows Nicole said she was relieved that EJ is the father since they are dating and Eric is now dating Sloan. Nicole stops her and insists that she does not wish that Eric was the father. Chloe comments on her protesting too much.

Sloan tells Eric that when she walked in, it looked like he had something weighing on him. Sloan says he has been there for her, so she wants to be there for him too since they are partners. Eric informs her that he ran in to Nicole in the town square. Eric says maybe they shouldn’t talk about it, but Sloan says it’s okay and he doesn’t have to hide his feelings from her as she knows how disappointed he is and that he wishes he was the father of Nicole’s baby.

Stefan tells EJ that he wouldn’t put much stock in Megan and calls her a homicidal maniac. EJ questions not seeing Kristen the same way. Gabi interrupts and points out that they’ve seen Megan and Kristen with their heads together and they worked together to get out of prison, so she questions thinking that they are going to vote separately. Stefan admits she has a point and suggests maybe he and EJ should bury the hatchet. EJ questions Stefan suggesting they form an alliance. Stefan suggests doing so before their sisters take both of them down.

Megan tells Li that she knows what it’s like to be slighted, rejected, and to lose the love of your life to someone unworthy which makes it all the more painful. Li questions her considering her brother unworthy. Megan calls him her half brother from the loathsome Vivian Alamain, who she calls a total psycho. Li asks if she’s assuming that him losing Gabi to Stefan and his animosity towards them would motivate him to become entangled in her taking over the company. Li tells her it’s not going to happen because when it comes to being ruthless and cut throat, he doesn’t bat in her league either. Megan tells him not to be so modest as Kristen did fill her in on his machinations to take over DiMera Enterprises and how he seduced Gabi, brainwashed Stefan, and would’ve pulled the plug on Stefan if Kristen hadn’t stopped him. Megan suggests perhaps the next time that Stefan is on death’s door, he won’t be quite so lucky. Li questions if she is seriously considering killing her own brother. Megan responds that Stefano was a master chess player. Li says that doesn’t answer his question. Megan tells Li that she sees both of her brothers as kings, slow moving pieces who can only move one step in every direction while she sees herself as a queen, free to move around the board in any direction she chooses. Li points out that there’s another queen on the board. Megan says she has been watching Gabi’s moves very closely and she’s an emotional queen that is hot headed and high strung, who might be easily knocked off her pins by the elimination of her king. Megan says that is why she came to him. Megan brings up that the thought of Hope with the man that she loves leads her to homicidal impulses. Megan points out that Li sits here in his sister’s modest apartment with no job and no love. Megan asks if she can assume that he might be feeling burned, humiliated, and aching for retribution.

EJ reminds Stefan and Gabi that Kristen is obsessed with Brady, so he doubts they are in any position to make any major moves. Gabi argues that women are excellent multi-taskers. EJ responds that the only woman he’s concerned about is Gabi. EJ feels if he was foolish enough to trust Stefan again, he knows it would only be a matter of time before he throws him over to secure Gabi his share of power. Stefan admits that they have made no secret of their aspirations, but maybe it’s time the three of them think about their life balance. Gabi brings up that she and Stefan are getting married while Stefan points out that EJ has a new baby on the way. Stefan suggests there is more than enough money and power to go around DiMera, so if the three of them can co-exist against their mutual enemies, then maybe they can start the next chapter of their lives with a modicum of harmony. Stefan asks what EJ says.

Eric tells Sloan that it’s not about Nicole, but he really wanted to be a father. Eric says between Jada’s pregnancy termination and now this, maybe fate is just trying to tell him it’s not in the cards for him. Sloan doesn’t believe in fate or destiny. Sloan asks why it isn’t in the cards for him to have a kid. Sloan feels it just hasn’t happened but it doesn’t mean it can’t. Sloan then asks why doesn’t Eric have a baby with her.

Nicole tells Chloe that she’s protesting because it’s insensitive to think she would rather have Eric be the father. Nicole asks what good it would do to wish otherwise. Chloe agrees and apologizes. Nicole says she’s sorry too as she knows Chloe didn’t mean to upset her. Chloe admits she was being insensitive and not thinking. Nicole states that Eric and Sloan are together, while she and EJ are together. Nicole says she’s so grateful that EJ is the father of her baby, adding that he’s been so sweet to her and patient. Nicole declares that they are committed to each other and the baby. Chloe says she’s happy for both of them and praying that everything works out. Nicole thanks her and asks what about Chloe as she never imagined her working at the Spectator. Chloe explains that Xander offered her the job and doesn’t really take no for an answer. Nicole questions Chloe and Xander working together and living together. Nicole hopes there’s not something going on between them.

Bonnie demands an answer from Xander on how involved he and Chloe are. Xander questions why she cares. Bonnie claims she’s just curious. Xander responds that he’s not the type to kiss and tell. Bonnie questions them kissing and tells him to spill since the cat’s out of the bag. Xander admits that he and Chloe kissed two or three times, but only once where he didn’t get slapped. Bonnie continues to question him but Xander says he’s already shared too much. Xander doesn’t understand why Bonnie is so interested in how many times he’s kissed Chloe or any other woman. Xander asks Bonnie what’s going on. Bonnie tells Xander that he’s making a huge mistake and needs to stop kissing Chloe immediately, because of Sarah. Xander reminds her that he and Sarah are divorced. Bonnie says that’s beside the point and warns that if he gets serious with Chloe, it will hurt Sarah’s feelings. Xander insists that Sarah doesn’t give a damn what he does as she’s too busy with Rex. Bonnie says that’s what she thought too until she saw Sarah and her condition in Chicago when she went to visit Mimi. Xander questions Bonnie saying her condition. Bonnie tries to cover and claims that Sarah is looking very slim and hasn’t let herself go. Xander says it’s always a treat catching up with Bonnie but he really should go find Maggie. Xander adds that his relationship with Chloe is none of her concern and Sarah is in the past, so there is no reason for either of them to give a damn what the other is doing. Xander then exits the room. Bonnie remarks that he may think that now, but after Sarah has the baby, they both are going to feel very differently.

Nicole questions Chloe kissing Xander. Chloe says it happened three times and the first two times, she slapped him. Nicole can’t believe this. Chloe knows Xander has a history. Nicole reminds her of Xander leaving her in the arms of a ruthless Mexican drug cartel. Nicole brings up Xander locking her in a shark cage and ruining her relationship and marriage with Eric. Nicole thought if anyone hated Xander as much as she does, it’s Chloe. Chloe insists that people can change and the more time she’s spent with him, she’s discovered that he has his charms.

Eric tells Sloan that he doesn’t know what to say. Sloan guesses it was bit audacious of her to suggest they have a child together when they haven’t even been together that long, but they do love each other and are committed. Sloan asks why she can’t be the one to give him the child he always wanted. Eric says it’s not something they just decide in the wake of what happened with Nicole. Sloan says this has nothing to do with Nicole and is about them. Sloan brings up that she’s lost her parents and her brother is about to go away for a very long tiem. Sloan knows family is important to Eric and says it is to her too. Sloan talks about letting things get twisted for the wrong reasons but she’s done with all the anger and hatred because of Eric’s kindness, patience, and love. Sloan wants to give Eric something that he always wanted and asks him to let her do that for him. Eric doesn’t know because it feels so sudden. Sloan says it was sudden for EJ too but he’s over the moon about it. Sloan thinks Eric deserves everything in the world including his own baby on the way. Sloan asks if EJ gets to be a father, why shouldn’t Eric?

EJ tells Stefan that he’s not interested in his alliance, but says he and Gabi can turn in their letters of resignation if they want to go work on their lives. EJ then declares may the best DiMera win as he exits the room.

Li tells Megan that Gabi did love him once. Megan points out that if something terrible happened to Stefan then Gabi could turn to him for comfort. Li responds that he moved on from Gabi as he had to. Megan questions if he would turn down the opportunity to get Gabi back and get back at Stefan at the same time. Megan tells Li to think about it because the next move in her little game could very possibly be his.

Bonnie calls Justin and tells him that she almost totally blew it. Bonnie says she talked her way out of it by pretending to be sick, but then starts sneezing and worries that she really is getting sick. Bonnie declares that God is punishing her for lying.

Nicole questions Chloe saying that Xander has his charms and what the hell that means. Chloe responds that Xander is kind, makes her laugh, and is a really good cook. Nicole argues that Xander is the lowest of lows. Chloe says not anymore. Nicole feels she isn’t thinking straight. Nicole calls Xander a horrible human being on the rotten side. Xander then arrives and comments on Nicole saying how she really feels. Xander tells Chloe not to listen to Nicole because she’s just full of sour grapes since she had a shot with him and blew it. Nicole yells at him for being full of stupid arrogance. Xander kisses Chloe and remarks that Nicole’s loss is her gain. Nicole tells Chloe that if she’s not going to slap Xander again, to allow her..

Sloan asks Eric if they should start trying. Eric responds that he loves her but this isn’t something they need to rush in to because of the timing. Sloan understands he’s still getting over a big disappointment. Sloan says whenever he is ready to become a father, he knows where to find her. Eric says he’ll keep that in mind and she will definitely be the first to know as they hug.

Stefan and Gabi go to their room. Gabi complains that EJ made a huge mistake and calls him a pompous ass. Stefan says they tried, but they aren’t the only ones that EJ needs to worry about taking him down.

Megan returns to the DiMera Mansion and gets a call from Li, who declares that he’s in on taking Stefan down by any means necessary. Megan calls that a wise decision and remarks that with his help, she’s sure that her brother is not long for this world, which EJ overhears behind her as he comes back to the room.

Days of Our Lives Update

Chad calls Stephanie and asks if she’s still preparing for the zoom meeting. Stephanie confirms that she thinks they are all ready to go and asks if he is on his way. Chad informs her that he’s actually not going to be able to make it. Stephanie asks if everything is okay. Chad tells her that he just has something he needs to take care of and he’s sorry. Stephanie offers to drop by his place after to fill him in. Chad doesn’t know if he’ll be free but says he’ll let her know. Stephanie says she will talk to him later then. Chad says goodbye and hangs up. Chad then goes to visit Abigail’s grave.

Bonnie is at the Kiriakis Mansion while on the phone with Sarah, assuring that she will keep her secret and won’t tell another living soul that she is pregnant with Xander’s baby. Bonnie hangs up and comments on Sarah being so wound up. Justin enters and is excited to see she’s home. Bonnie kisses him and says she missed him. Justin asks her to tell him everything about her trip to Chicago.

Chloe joins Xander at the Spectator office and delivers a major ad buy which impresses Xander, who says he told her she would be great at the job. Xander asks if she’s glad she didn’t quit now. Chloe admits today’s been a really great day and she thinks it’s because Gwen is not around.

Dimitri arrives at Gwen’s room but is shocked when Leo answers the door. Leo tries to pretend not to know him. Dimtiri brings up what happened in Phoenix and says it changed the course of his life. Leo jokes that he remembers him as Agent Kyle Graham and tries to shut the door but Dimitri stops him and says they have unfinished business, so he’s not going anywhere until it’s finally settled. Leo asks if he did something to offend him. Dimitri walks in and asks if stolen jewels ring a bell. Leo claims not really but then acknowledges when he swapped out the priceless emerald for a phony. Leo blows it off as a silly prank while Dimitri argues that it ruined everything for him. Leo apologizes and says he didn’t realize his prank was going to ruin his plans for world domination. Dimitri argues that it wasn’t about world domination but the money as he cost him a fortune. Dimitri grabs Leo and declares that now he’s going to make him pay.

Chloe asks Xander where Gwen is anyway. Xander responds that she apparently has some exclusive interview with Dimitri. Chloe comments on hearing he’s a dirtbag. Xander hopes it will drive their numbers and comments that at least it keeps Gwen out of Chloe’s hair for today. Chloe decides she should get back to work. Xander suggests she take a break so they can spend some time together. Chloe asks if they should keep things professional at the office. Xander agrees but says he can’t stop thinking about last night and specifically their kiss. Chloe admits she can’t either. Maggie then walks in and asks if she’s interrupting. Chloe says not at all as Xander asks what brings her by. Maggie says she’ll get right to the point and mentions having to let Alex go. Maggie then reveals that she would like to offer Alex’s job to Xander.

Alex goes to see Stephanie. She asks what he’s doing there. Alex asks if it’s a bad time or if Chad is there but Stephanie informs him that he’s not. Alex says he just wanted to come by and give her the good news that he’s officially employed again. Stephanie says that’s great, assuming that Maggie took him back. Alex confirms that Maggie did offer to rehire him, but he turned her down.

Chad lays roses at Abigail’s grave and says he can’t believe it’s been a year since they lost her. Chad talks about how it feels like just yesterday they were happy together, raising their kids and talking about having another baby. Chad says he could picture exactly what their lives would be like. Chad comments that sometimes it feels like he never lost her. Chad then hears a noise that startles him and he calls out to Abigail but it was Julie arriving with flowers. Julie says if Chad wants his privacy, she’ll come back later but Chad insists that she stay. Julie places her flowers at Abigail’s grave. They talk about Thomas and Charlotte visiting Jack and Jennifer in Boston. Chad blames himself for the kids acting out lately. Chad feels they know it’s the anniversary of their mother’s passing coming up. Julie encourages that Abigail is watching over him. Chad says he hopes so and wonders what she would think of him and Stephanie.

Stephanie questions Alex turning Maggie down and asks how he’s employed again then. Alex reveals that he took a job at DiMera which Stephanie questions. Alex explains that his cousin Brady offered him a position at Basic Black, so he took it. Stephanie comments that he’s working for the competition then and questions how Maggie feels about that.

Xander questions Maggie wanting him to work at Titan again. Maggie points out that she’s floated the idea before so it can’t be a surprise. Xander feels that Victor would never approve but Maggie says it’s not up to Victor and the only person that needs to be on board is him, so she asks Xander what he says.

Bonnie shows Justin pictures of her granddaughter Emily. Justin asks about Sarah. Bonnie questions why on earth he would ask her about Sarah. Justin explains that Sarah lives in Chicago and works with Rex, so he figures Rex must have mentioned her. Bonnie admits she saw Sarah, so Justin asks how she is. Bonnie says she’s good, claiming that she’s exactly the same and hasn’t changed a bit. Bonnie gets nervous and gets up to get water. Justin asks what’s going on with her. Bonnie says it’s nothing but Justin notes her being nervous, so he asks if there’s something wrong.

Leo asks Dimitri not to hurt him and offers to help him with whatever he wants. Dimitri responds that he only wants revenge. Leo then screams for Gwen to help him. Gwen comes out from the bathroom and questions what is going on. Leo tells her that Dimitri is trying to kill him. Gwen tells Dimitri to let him go but Dimitri says this is none of her concern. Gwen says it is as she reveals that Leo is her best friend. Dimitri asks if Gwen has any idea what Leo did to him. Gwen says no and she doesn’t care. Gwen threatens to call the police. Dimitri argues that she doesn’t understand. Gwen asks Dimitri if he wants to go back to prison or not.

Stephanie questions Alex not being worried about how Maggie and Victor feel. Alex says hell no after how they treated him. Alex argues that he and Brady would both still be working at Titan if it wasn’t for Victor’s decisions and remarks that if Maggie is such a good CEO, she won’t mind a little healthy competition. Alex says he just wanted to tell her the good news, but he should probably get going before Chad shows up and finds them together and he doesn’t want to piss Chad off. Stephanie responds that she doesn’t think Chad is showing up today as she’s pretty sure he’s with Abigail.

Chad tells Julie that he and Stephanie have been seeing each other for awhile now. Julie says she likes Stephanie, calls her a lovely person and notes that she’s wonderful with his children. Julie adds that Chad always seems happier when they are together. Chad admits that he is, but he still sometimes feels guilty for being with someone other than Abigail. Julie understands that he will always feel Abigail’s presence in his heart, but she thinks Abigail would want him to make room in his heart for someone else because she would want him to be happy. Chad tells Julie that after they found out Clyde killed Abigail, he came to her grave and he saw her and she told him to move on. Julie guesses that must have been comforting. Chad says it may have just been wishful thinking and hearing what he wanted to hear.

Bonnie tells Justin that nothing is wrong with her at all. Justin asks if she’s sure because she seems to be acting strange. Bonnie blames it on jet lag. Justin points out that she drove and they are in the same time zone. Justin can tell something is really upsetting her so he asks her what is going on. Bonnie states that Justin is her husband but also an attorney, so she gives him a dollar to be her attorney and says now they have attorney-client privilege. Justin questions if she did something illegal. Bonnie says of course not but she has a secret and her tongue’s going to explode if she doesn’t tell somebody. Justin asks her what it is. Bonnie then reveals that Sarah is pregnant with Xander’s baby.

Xander asks Maggie if Sarah won’t be upset if she hires him. Maggie says she might be but she knows she’s fond of him. Maggie admits part of her hopes Sarah will forgive Xander and come home someday. Xander doesn’t see that happening and says he’s not sure he’s ready to abandon the newspaper yet. Maggie thought he was already taking a step back because it was so awkward working with Gwen. Xander says it has been awkward as hell, but certain things about the job have improved recently. Maggie tells Xander to take some time to think about it, but notes that she does need to replace Alex soon and she hopes it’s with him. Xander says he’ll get back to her as soon as possible. Maggie hugs Chloe and says it was good to see her, adding that she loved her birthday gift from Chloe’s son Parker. Maggie reminds Xander to think about it as she exits the office. Xander tells Chloe that was unexpected. Chloe says Maggie obviously thinks very highly of him. Xander says he feels the same about her, but he’d be crazy to go back to work at Titan. Chloe asks why he didn’t just say no then. Xander says he didn’t want to be rude but Chloe suggests maybe deep down, he actually wants the job.

Gwen asks Dimitri to call a truce with Leo or she’s going to call the police. Dimitri then gets a text from Megan, reminding him that marrying Gwen is the key to unlocking his fortune. Dimitri then tells Gwen there is no need to call the police and apologizes to Leo for manhandling him. Leo says he has to get to work and calls Gwen a lifesaver as he exits. Gwen tells Dimitri that she knows Leo is a lot, but he has a good heart and he makes her laugh. Gwen asks if Dimitri is still willing to do the interview. Dimitri says of course. Gwen says she made a lunch reservation at the Bistro but Dimitri asks why not just do it here where it could be a lot more intimate.

Stephanie tells Alex that Chad was being very vague about his plans, but she figured it had to be important if he was blowing off a client meeting and then it hit her that today is the one year anniversary of Abigail’s death, so she’s sure that Chad just needed some time to process that. Alex asks why he wouldn’t just say that. Stephanie guesses it’s just something he has to deal with on his own. Alex is sure it’s still very painful for him. Stephanie asks how it couldn’t be. Alex adds that one thing he noticed is that Chad still wears his wedding ring. Stephanie admits she noticed that too. Stephanie says they haven’t talked about it but she totally understands that it must be hard to let go. Alex is surprised she’s so chill about all of this and living in Abigail’s shadow. Alex then apologizes, saying it came out wrong. Alex remarks that she somehow has to share Chad with Abigail’s memory. Alex calls her a strong person, so he knows she can handle it, and that Chad is really lucky to have her. Alex calls her understanding, caring, and says she doesn’t pressure Chad about anything. Stephanie thanks him and says that was kind and insightful. Alex credits Marlena’s therapy. Alex says he really does hope that Chad is okay.

Julie tells Chad that she knows it seems impossible that he actually saw Abigail, but maybe he did. Julie says they’ll never know, but she knows whether Chad imagined her or not, she knows Abigail would want him to get on with his life. Chad says he knows that sometimes, but other times he has an overwhelming feeling of guilt, like he’s betraying her. Chad says maybe he made up his vision of Abigail to give himself permission to be with Stephanie. Chad notes that it’s only been one year. Julie stops him and tells him that there is no timetable for grief and no right or wrong way to mourn. Julie calls guilt corrosive and says it will steal all of his happiness if he lets it. Julie tells Chad that he deserves to be loved and to have happiness for himself and for his children too, so they can see their father living a full life. Chad agrees. Julie points out that Chad is still wearing his wedding ring and says it’s none of her business but asks if wearing it is holding him back from moving on. Chad admits that maybe it is but he hasn’t been able to bring himself to take it off because he’s afraid that if he does, it will make it final and he’ll really let her go. Julie encourages that Abigail will never be gone as she will always be with him in his heart and no ring will prove that to him. Julie thinks Chad feels guilt because he’s here and Abigail’s not. Julie says life is a gift, so they should treasure every bit of it that they get because it’s brief and limited for all of them. Julie urges Chad to forgive himself for finding love again and wanting to move in to the future. Julie tells Chad to be thankful for all the moments.

Gwen tells Dimitri that she thinks it’s best that they keep things strictly professional. Dimitri claims he wasn’t thinking otherwise, just that restaurants are crowded and noisy, so he thought the interview might be better here so they are not disturbed. Gwen supposes he has a point. Dimitri offers to order room service so he can make up for getting off on the wrong foot with a fresh start. Gwen thanks him for lunch and for the interview. Dimitri states that normally, he detests interviews but for some reason, he’s looking forward to this one as something tells him that they are going to get along. Dimitri then calls to order room service.

Xander admits to Chloe that part of him would just love to go back to Titan as he used to dream about being part of the family business and finally feel like he belonged. Xander adds that it would be so satisfying to go back and rub it in Victor’s face by showing him that he made a mistake by not believing in him. Chloe jokes that she could see why that would be satisfying. Chloe guesses that Xander is taking the job then. Xander responds that he’s actually going to turn it down because as much as he enjoys spending time with Maggie, he enjoys spending time with Chloe much more. Chloe points out that they already live together. Xander feels it would be unfair if he abandoned Chloe at the job and left her with Gwen. Xander guesses he’s staying for her as they kiss.

Justin questions how on earth Sarah could be pregnant with Xander’s baby when she left town months ago. Bonnie explains that she was pregnant before she left but didn’t tell anybody, because she thinks Xander is a dangerous criminal and is trying to protect her unborn child. Justin understands since Xander did hold Bonnie and Susan hostage. Bonnie points out that did lead to Susan’s death. Justin questions why Sarah told her if she didn’t want anyone to know. Bonnie explains that she ran in to her and it’s kind of hard to hide her pregnancy at this stage. Bonnie adds that she tried to convince her that Rex was the father but she didn’t believe it, so Sarah finally confessed but begged her not to tell anyone. Bonnie complains that it was such a huge secret that she had to tell someone. Justin says he understands. Bonnie reminds him that this has to stay between them as no one, not even Maggie, can know that she’s pregnant. Maggie then comes home and asks who is pregnant and why she’s not allowed to know. Bonnie says it’s not just her, but no one can know, because she wants to keep it a secret. Maggie asks who, so Bonnie claims it’s her daughter Mimi that is pregnant and she doesn’t want people knowing until she’s through her first trimester. Maggie agrees not to say a word but calls it wonderful news and says Bonnie must be thrilled. Maggie admits she’s a little jealous, because she would love to be a grandmother again. Maggie then exits the room.

Xander and Chloe kiss in the office until Leo walks in and interrupts them. Leo says he just came for his paycheck. Xander hands it to him. Leo thanks him and asks if Xander is busy or if he has time to talk about his next column. Xander says he’s busy, so Leo will have to wait because someone else needs an answer from him ASAP. Xander then exits. Leo remarks on that being Chloe’s idea of platonic and calls it interesting. Chloe asks him not to say anything to Gwen because she hates her enough as it is. Leo says that Gwen has been over Xander for ages and is having lunch with a hot new hunk as they speak.

Gwen tells Dimitri that most of their readers view him as a James Bond type villain who threatens to obliterate entire cities to get what he wanted. Gwen knows that’s part of his story but she’d like to move beyond that and learn about the real Dimitri Von Leuschner. Dimitri asks what she would like to know. Gwen suggests starting at the beginning and asks what his childhood was like. Dimitri explains that he was an only child, raised mostly by his mother. Dimitri says he loves his mother dearly but she can be quite needy as she went through a lot before he was born. Dimitri says it sometimes felt like he was the adult in the relationship. Gwen says she knows what that’s like and asks about his father. Dimtiri says they didn’t have much of a relationship because he was always off on business and when he was home, he was cold, distant, and not much of a father figure. Dimitri remarks that he may as well have been absent from his life altogether. Gwen says it sounds like an awfully lonely childhood. Dimitri supposes it was but says he grew up with great wealth and is aware of how lucky he was, but looking back, he would’ve traded it all in for a modicum of unconditional love, if that even exists. Gwen thinks it does. Dimitri comments that she’s less of a cynic than he is then. Dimitri says when you’re deprived of love, it starts to eat away at you and to cope with it, he developed sort of a “me against the world” mentality and he’s never been able to shake it. Dimitri supposes that mentality has driven many of his less prudent life choices, like using weapons of mass destruction to bend governments to his will. Dimitri adds that in prison, you spend a lot of time with yourself, alone with just your thoughts and start to wonder how you hit rock bottom. Dimitri states that he realized his need for power and money was all born from the lifelong desire just to be loved. Dimitri tells Gwen to feel free to scoff as he realizes how wildly cliché that sounds if she thinks he sounds like a self-pitying narcissist. Gwen says she doesn’t and that she relates to it.

Julie tells Chad that she should get going, but she hopes he takes her advice to heart. Chad says he will and he appreciates everything she said. Chad calls her so wise and caring, noting that she really helped him. Julie says anytime he wants to talk, she’s always around. Julie tells Chad that she loves him. Chad says he loves her too as Julie then walks away. Chad sits down at Abigail’s grave and removes his wedding ring. Chad says he wants Abigail to know that when he saw her that day, he meant what he said, that he will love her forever as he then puts the ring in his pocket.

Chad goes to see Stephanie, who says she didn’t think she’d be seeing him today. Chad says he just wanted to come apologize for missing the meeting today. Stephanie says it’s okay. Chad says the truth is he went to go see Abigail. Stephanie says that’s what she thought. Chad apologizes for not telling her. Stephanie says he doesn’t owe her an apology. Chad kisses her and asks how the meeting was. Stephanie says it really good and they just finished right before he got there. Stephanie adds that the client wants to see the numbers he crunched. Chad says he has them and pulls them out of his bag. Stephanie notices Chad is no longer wearing his wedding ring. Stephanie then tells Chad that they will get to work as they sit together.

Gwen asks Dimitri if he’s still looking for that perfect love. Dimitri supposes that he is. Gwen asks if there’s anyone special that he fancies. Dimitri says sadly, no. Gwen asks if there ever has been. Dimitri admits there was someone that he thought was perfect for him, but he kept getting hurt until he finally had to walk away. Dimitri thinks Gwen might know what that feels like. Dimitri admits that last night, he overheard her speaking to Kristen and that she said she wanted to put someone named Xander behind her so she could start over with someone new. Dimitri apologizes for eavesdropping but says he’s secretly glad that he did because it made him realize they have a connection of sorts. Gwen tells him that it’s true that since hearing his story, she thinks it’s quite uncanny how much they have in common.

Chloe questions Leo about Gwen being on a date when she thought she was interviewing Dimitri. Leo confirms that she is, but one thing could lead to another. Chloe hopes he’s right because if Gwen is happy and moves on then she’s less of a problem for her and Xander. Leo says even if Gwen is out of the picture, what about Sarah Horton. Chloe asks what about her since she and Xander were over long ago and she doesn’t even live here anymore. Leo points out that even still, her spectre still loomed large over Gwen’s relationship with Xander. Leo remarks that Gwen always played second fiddle to Xander’s beloved Sarah and asks who’s to say that won’t happen to Chloe too. Chloe calls that ridiculous and assures that Sarah and Xander are done for good. Leo says if she says so and then exits.

Bonnie asks Justin if he thinks Maggie bought her story. Justin says they can hope so and jokes that she might need to let Mimi know that she needs to get pregnant right away. Bonnie says it’s all she could think of and that it’s all Justin’s fault anyway which he questions. Bonnie remarks that she was a much better liar before she met him and now she’s out of practice. Justin takes that as a compliment. Bonnie calls it a blessing and a curse because now she feels guilty about lying when she never used to. Bonnie brings up Maggie saying she can’t wait to be a grandmother again. Justin says that Sarah will eventually have to tell Maggie and she can’t keep the secret forever. Bonnie thinks Sarah just needs time to figure it out. Justin says she better do that soon because he’s not sure how much longer Bonnie can last with the secret. Bonnie insists that Justin is the only one she’s going to tell. Justin kisses her and says he has a client to meet as he then exits. Bonnie tells herself that she can keep Sarah’s pregnancy a secret easily but she’ll just have to stay away from Xander. Xander then enters the room.

Days of Our Lives Update

Dimitri sits in the living room of the DiMera Mansion in his robe as Megan walks in and comments on him not being dressed yet. Dimitri remarks that he doesn’t have a set schedule. Megan reminds him about having lunch with Gwen but Dimitri responds that he’s not going.

Gwen is on the phone, confirming her reservation for lunch with Dimitri. Leo enters the room. Gwen tells him that everything is set for her interview with Dimitri and declares that it will be the Spectator’s scoop of the century. Leo remarks that while everything is coming up roses for her, his life is over.

Roman and Kate eat together at the Brady Pub. Roman finishes a call with Jada and informs Kate that they have no new leads. Kate doesn’t get how the mayor can just vanish. Kate asks about Colin. Roman says he was just bluffing when he said he knew where Abe was. Kate asks if they are sure. Roman explains that Sloan is Colin’s lawyer and sister and she said he doesn’t know anything. Kate says she wouldn’t believe anything from either of them. Roman points out that Colin is in a lot of trouble, so if he knew something, he’d say so. Kate doesn’t understand since Abe couldn’t have gotten out of the hospital on his own so someone had to have helped him and someone must have seen him. Roman says that’s what he keeps telling himself.

Paulina talks on the phone to Julie, assuring that she’s back in her hospital bed and she doesn’t need to come as she is fine, or she will be when they find out who really took Abe and where he is. Nurse Whitley then enters Paulina’s room. She says she’ll come back after her call but Paulina stops her and says she needs to talk to her.

Abe watches Body & Soul tapes at Whitley’s until Rafe knocks on the door. Abe pauses the tape and tries to get up but cannot.

Roman tells Kate that he can’t just sit around, so he’s going to talk to John and Steve to offer his help. Kate hugs Roman as she tells him to be careful and to bring Abe home. Harris Michaels then enters the Pub and greets them. Roman mentions hearing that he was in town. Kate asks if he came for an early lunch. Harris says he came to see if they’ve heard anything from Megan Hathaway. Kate says she hasn’t heard anything since she came by the other day. Roman notes that Steve said that’s the reason Harris is back. Harris felt keeping an eye on Megan was the least he could do. Harris guesses that Roman would prefer he stay away and mind his own business.

Megan reminds Dimitri that it’s not long before he turns 40. Dimitri assures that he’s aware and reveals he was reading over the will and noted that Megan left out some details like the fact that he has to remain married for at least a year and if it turns out that his marriage was under false pretenses, then he loses every penny of the inheritance. Megan encourages him to just turn on the charm and asks if it would be so bad. Dimitri complains that he just got out of prison and wanted to have fun which might be hard if he’s playing the part of the devoted husband.

Gwen asks Leo why he thinks his life is over. Leo reveals that he went to see his mother in prison and he honestly doesn’t know why. Gwen argues that he loathes her with good reason so she questions what possessed him to go see her. Leo explains that he mentioned his mother to Jada while she was grilling him and it made him realize that he hadn’t been to visit her once since she went to prison. Leo says that his mother ranted about why he’s a worthless human being that nobody could ever possibly love.

Paulina tells Julie that she will call her back and hangs up. Whitley asks what she can do for her. Paulina tells Whitley that she knows who she is and that she saw her taking care of Abe in the hospital, so she wanted to thank her for everything she did for Abe. Whitley says she’s just a nurse and that’s what they do. Paulina says most people credit the doctors for saving lives but the nurses do it around the clock. Paulina comments that she doesn’t know what Abe would’ve done without Whitley.

Rafe continues knocking on the door and asks if Whitley is there. Abe recognizes his voice. Rafe says it’s important that he talk to her. Abe thinks back to Whitley instructing him not to answer the door, especially if the cops show up.

Harris guesses that Roman probably hates him. Roman says he wouldn’t go that far. Roman says he may have hated what went down between Harris, Hope, and Bo, but he is in his debt because Harris stuck his neck out to save Kate from Megan and Dimitri. Roman declares that for that, he will always owe him as he and Harris shake hands.

Megan tells Dimitri that inheriting a vast fortune is worth being married for a year to a woman he doesn’t love. Dimitri asks if he really needs the fortune when it looks like they are doing pretty well. Megan remarks that the DiMera Mansion is a pool for sharks since they have to share the DiMera fortune with Tony, EJ, Stefan, Kristen, Chad, and any other illegitimate child that shows up. Megan adds that every one of them want the fortune for themselves, but none of them can touch the Von Leuschner fortune as that is all theirs. Megan calls it part of the plan when she married his father as he’ll be sharing the money with her.

Gwen asks Leo why he should believe a single word that his mom says. Leo suggests that it’s true that nobody has ever loved him. Gwen asks what about her. Leo says she is his friend but when it comes to lovers, none of them have ever stuck around. Leo complains that every guy he ever goes for is either married, straight, or using him for his American citizenship. Leo declares that maybe his mother was right.

Whitley tells Paulina that it was an honor to take care of Abe but claims she was just doing her job. She says it was a joy to take care of the mayor but she’s so sorry about everything that happened to him and that his attacker may have kidnapped him. Paulina says it turns out that Colin wasn’t responsible for Abe’s disappearance. Whitley asks how the police know. Paulina says they just know and that there are no other suspects. Paulina cries that she has no idea where her husband is, how he is, or if she’ll ever see him again. Whitley hugs Paulina as she cries.

Rafe continues knocking at Whitley’s door, asking if anyone is there. With no answer, Rafe gives up and walks away.

Roman tells Harris that he was just going to help John and Steve with Abe. Harris wishes him luck with that. Roman tells Kate that he will call her with any information and kisses her goodbye as he exits. Kate and Harris sit down together. Harris talks about figuring his life out now that he’s in Salem. Kate asks what that means. Harris explains that he’s staying at his parents old place and doesn’t know how long he can stay there, so if he’s going to get his own place then he will have to figure out a job. Kate says she might be able to help him with that. Harris asks how so. Kate informs him that she would happily pay him to get rid of Megan Hathaway.

Megan asks Dimitri if he’s listening to her. Dimitri assures that he is and admits he’s not relishing having to share the fortune with all the DiMeras. Dimitri continues to complain about having to marry a woman that he just met. Megan argues that she sacrificed so much for him over the years and this is his chance to pay her back.

Gwen and Leo talk about being friends for 17 years. Gwen says she knows him really well, so she knows that everything his mother said about him is not true. Leo says that’s easy for her to say when she’s not her mother. Gwen talks about how her mother convinced her that her father didn’t care if she lived or died. Gwen declares that anything their mothers have said about them is absolute rubbish. Leo tells Gwen that he loves her and says they both need handsome strangers to show up one day and sweep them off their feet.

Dimitri asks Megan how he should repay her. Megan tells him to go upstairs, get dressed, have lunch with Gwen and turn on the charm. Megan encourages that the sooner he proposes, the sooner they get all that money. Dimitri remarks that she never sacrifices her own dignity as he exits and heads upstairs. Megan turns around as Kristen entered through the side door and questions what her plans are for all that money.

Whitley encourages Paulina not to worry about Abe and says he’s going to be fine. Paulina argues that she can’t possibly know that. Whitley talks about her faith getting her through so much. Rafe then enters so Paulina asks if there’s news on Abe but Rafe says there’s not. Rafe reveals that he’s here to talk to nurse Whitley.

Abe guesses it must be the guy who attacked him, pretending to be a cop at the door. Abe hopes he’s gone but says if not, he has to defend himself. Abe gets a headache and guesses he has to wait until Paulina comes home. Abe then resumes Whitley’s tape of Body and Soul.

Gwen tells Leo that handsome strangers only show up in romance novels, so they may be setting them up too high. Leo insists that he believes true love is out there for both of them and that he envisions them having great romantic futures. Leo then says if neither of them find a man, they can just marry each other.

Megan accuses Kristen of eavesdropping but Kristen says Megan’s voice carries and she heard it all the way out in the garden. Kristen says she already knows about Megan’s plan to take over the world and how she’s going to use the Von Leuschner money.

Harris asks Kate if she wants him to get rid of Megan by convincing her to leave town or by taking it a step further. Kate says she doesn’t need him to play games with her as he’s not going to make her feel guilty. Kate reminds him that Megan tried to kill her and then stuck her brainwashed henchman on her. Kate adds that if Bo didn’t have a last second change of heart, she would be dead right now. Kate says Harris can imagine how she feels about Megan coming to Salem and putting down roots. Kate adds that Harris obviously thinks Megan is up to something or he wouldn’t be keeping an eye on her. Harris asks if Kate thinks Megan is going to try to kill her again. Kate responds that she doesn’t want to wait and see so she wants to have her neutralized first. Harris asks Kate to tell him exactly what she wants. Kate thinks he knows what she wants. Kate states that it’s not just about her life since Megan had plans for Marlena and Kayla. Harris asks if she should consult with them about her plan. Kate says that would be a waste of time as neither of them have the killer instinct. Kate declares that she’s the only one ruthless enough to take care of the situation.

Abe continues watching Body and Soul.

Whitley questions Rafe wanting to talk to her. Rafe informs her that he just came from her apartment and there was no one there, so he came here. Rafe adds that he also left her a message yesterday but she didn’t call him back. Whitley claims she had her phone turned off and asks what she can do for him. Rafe states that it seems as though she may have been the last person to see Abe before he disappeared.

Harris questions Kate having the killer instinct but wanting him to do the killing. Kate points out that it’s not like he hasn’t done it before. Harris reminds her that he was brainwashed. Kate feels he still has it in him since he’s a navy SEAL with advanced combat training. Harris argues that Megan is evil but isn’t exactly an armed combatant. Kate feels she’s not exactly a frail flower. Kate reminds Harris that Megan tried to ruin his life and almost cost him his freedom. Kate says they both know what Megan is capable of and that sooner or later, she will be back at it. Harris admits that could be a problem. Kate points out that his problem is money and she has loads of it. Harris questions why pay him instead of somebody else. Harris points out that Roman was a cop and would love the chance to get even with Megan. Kate states that she loves Roman but her take on morality is situational while his is absolute. Kate brings up that Roman stopped John and Steve from killing Orpheus, who is a monster, so there’s no chance that she could convince him to kill a woman like Megan, which means she’s left with Harris.

Kristen tells Megan that she’s done some far out stuff, but never a plan to take over the world. Kristen asks Megan how she’s going to do it, but Dimitri returns to the room after getting dressed up. Dimitri questions how he’s going to convince Gwen to marry him. Kristen can’t believe he’s really going to do that. Megan is sure he has his ways to charm women. Dimitri points out that his goal has never been marriage. Dimitri suggests just telling Gwen why but Megan reminds him of the clause that says he must be sincere in his intentions. Kristen questions the clause but Megan tells her to shut up. Megan tells Dimitri that it might not be difficult since Gwen is desperate for a new man in her life. Kristen brings up that Xander used and abused Gwen, so Megan says she is primed and ready. Megan then hands Dimitri a folder that has everything he needs to know on Gwen, referring to her as her future daughter in law as Dimtiri then exits.

Gwen jokes with Leo that she’ll expect a giant engagement ring from him. Leo says he’s not kidding and suggests they should consider tying the knot. Leo thinks they could make a killing on gifts at the bridal party but Gwen points out that nobody likes them enough to spend a single penny on gifts. Gwen says she has to finish getting ready to make it to her interview on time. Leo decides he will stay there and watch Body and Soul. Gwen says he can tell her what happens next when she gets back. Leo adds that Gwen might not want to mention his name to Dimtiri, since they have a past and he threatened to kill him over the Alamainian Peacock. Gwen is surprised that was Dimtiri but then says her lips will be sealed.

Paulina complains that nobody told her that Whitley was the last person to see Abe, not even Whitley herself. Whitley questions if she’s being accused of something. Rafe says no but she was working the floor when Abe regained consciousness and then shortly after, he disappeared while assigned as one of her patients. Whitley says she has a lot of patients. Rafe encourages her to think back to the day and asks if there was anyone suspicious around. Whitley says there was nothing like that. Rafe asks if she remembers taking care of Abe. She recalls checking on Abe and Abe imagining that she was Paulina. Whitley then tells Rafe that she remembers it well, but says there was something.

Abe continues watching Body and Soul where the two actresses in the show are fighting over a man who had amnesia.

Kristen asks Megan if her plan is already in motion. Megan doesn’t answer so Kristen believes she’s having doubts about her plan. Megan says she underestimates her. Kristen feels Megan underestimates the amount of enemies she’s made in this town, so if she wants them to bend to her will, she will need an army on her side. Megan agrees and says every army needs a commander. Kristen says it sounds like she has someone in mind. Megan says it’s one who recently arrived in Salem.

Kate asks Harris if they have a deal. Harris states that whatever Megan did to him, he can never be a hitman. Kate remarks that Harris is clearly back on the side of the angels, but she’s not. Harris apologizes but says she will have to find someone else. Kate warns Harris to keep his guard up because Megan could come after him or Hope. Harris agrees and admits he doesn’t like to be backed in to a corner. Kate suggests Harris just give it some thought as she thinks he will realize she’s telling the truth and then he’ll come around.

Dimitri arrives at Gwen’s room but is shocked when Leo answers the door.

Whitley recalls going to check Abe’s vitals and he woke up very confused. Whitley says she told him he would be fine and then she went to notify his doctor of his condition. Whitley claims that she did not see Abe again after that. Rafe asks if no one was hanging around outside of his room. Whitley says no and that Colin was handcuffed to his bed. Whitley claims she wishes she could be more of a help. Rafe thanks her for her time. Whitley tells Paulina to just ring her bell if she needs anything and says that Abe is in her prayers.

Abe pauses off the tape of Body and Soul, going over how one of the characters had amnesia and left one woman for another. Abe then resumes the tape. The recording was then interrupted by a press conference from Abe’s 2008 mayoral campaign. Abe is shocked as he sees himself and realizes that he is the Mayor.

Days of Our Lives Update

Tripp comes out from his bedroom and greets Wendy, who tells him that coffee is ready. Tripp asks if she ever heard from Johnny. Wendy confirms that she did not last night or today. Tripp calls it strange and goes over how Johnny said he was on his way with takeout but then calls and says he’s with Chanel. Tripp wonders if Johnny is still with Chanel.

Johnny and Chanel walk through the town square. Johnny comments that he’s had six cups of coffee and still feels like the walking dead. Chanel apologizes and can’t believe the police kept them all night to give their statements. Chanel adds that Johnny didn’t even see what happened with Colin since he was downstairs the whole time. Johnny recalls seeing Colin hauled out and having to repeat it 600 times. Chanel feels they should’ve let him go home and get some sleep. Johnny didn’t want her to go through all that by herself and assures that it was no big deal. Johnny adds that he’s willing to do anything he can to make sure that psycho gets put away for a very long time.

Talia wakes up from a nightmare about Colin coming after her.

Colin is handcuffed to the table in the interrogation room as Paulina storms in and asks where her husband is. Rafe follows her in and questions what she’s doing as he thought she was still at the hospital. Paulina tells Rafe that he should be questioning Colin instead of her. Paulina demands that Colin tell her where her husband is right now.

Nurse Whitley listens to her voicemail from Rafe as Abe sleeps. Abe has a dream about Paulina and then wakes up in a panic as Whitley greets him.

Wendy tells Tripp that she hasn’t heard from Johnny but there could be a million reasons why he didn’t call. Tripp questions Johnny spending the entire night with his ex wife and having a million reasons that he couldn’t text her. Wendy says she’s not happy about it and he better have a good explanation, but she jumped to conclusions about the whole crazy biscuits deal and she was wrong, so this time she is giving Johnny the benefit of the doubt. Tripp says he understands, but it’s not a good look for him to keep ghosting her. Wendy remarks that trashing Johnny just to score points isn’t such a good look for Tripp either.

Johnny asks if Chanel is okay because her hands are shaking. Chanel blames the coffee. Johnny acknowledges that she had a really close call last night and hasn’t had time to process it until just now. Johnny tells her that he’s really sorry. Chanel says it’s not his fault. Johnny feels he never should’ve let her go up to Talia’s room by herself because she could’ve been hurt or worse. Chanel argues that he didn’t know Colin was up there. Chanel can’t believe that Talia had the nerve to defend Colin to her. Johnny points out that she then gave her the badge and basically turned Colin in. Johnny guesses that Talia was terrified to say anything bad about Colin because she knew he was right there. Chanel argues that Talia loved Colin and did everything he told her to do. Johnny acknowledges that included Talia giving up her job as a doctor, moving to a town she didn’t know, and terrorizing people that she never even met. Johnny states that he must have had some hold over her. Chanel questions if he’s defending Talia. Johnny points out that Talia did just go off on a building to protect Paulina, so she must feel terrible about what she did. Chanel argues that it doesn’t change the fact that Talia betrayed her in the worst possible way. Chanel declares that she will never forgive Talia.

Jada joins Talia in her room. Jada hoped she would sleep in but Talia tells her about the nightmare she had that Colin came back for her. Jada says she’s sorry but Colin is locked up now, so he can’t hurt her or anyone else. Jada adds that she won’t let Colin lay another finger on her again. Jada encourages Talia to rest as she’s been up all night. Talia points out that Jada has too. Talia doesn’t want to close her eyes again. Talia asks if Colin is still refusing to talk. Jada says it seems so. Talia asks if she really thinks Colin kidnapped Abe since he didn’t say anything to her. Talia notes that Colin escaped from the hospital at the exact same time that Abe disappeared. Talia doesn’t know who else it could be if not Colin.

Whitley tells Abe that he was tossing and turning all night, so she asks if everything is alright. Abe tells her that he had a strange dream about Paulina, but she didn’t look like her.

Paulina yells at Colin to stop staring at her and say something. Rafe explains that Colin has been exercising his fifth amendment rights since he got here and asks Paulina to step out. Paulina argues that she knows Rafe has to go by due process but she can just strangle the truth out of him. Sloan walks in and questions what the hell is going on here as no one should be talking to her client without his lawyer present. Paulina calls Colin a murderous kidnapping psychopath. Sloan responds that Colin has nothing to do with Abe’s disappearance. Colin then speaks up and claims that he does know where Abe is and if they let him out, he will take them to him.

Tripp apologizes to Wendy for what he said about Johnny and admits he was being a jerk. Tripp says he just doesn’t like seeing Wendy hurt, but if she’s not upset about it then he has no right to be. Wendy clarifies that she didn’t say she wasn’t upset, just that she hopes Johnny has a good explanation. Tripp remarks that he’s a fool if he doesn’t. Tripp points out that Wendy had three guys fighting over her, so if he was Johnny, he wouldn’t take her patience for granted. Wendy decides she should get to work. Tripp points out that she didn’t have breakfast but Wendy says she’s not hungry. Tripp encourages her to sit down and have breakfast. Wendy jokes that he doesn’t have to keep cooking for her because he feels sorry for her. Tripp says he doesn’t and if there’s anyone he feels sorry for, it’s Johnny if he doesn’t step up his game. Tripp then decides he won’t be a jerk about it and will give Johnny the benefit of the doubt like Wendy is.

Johnny decides that if Chanel is sure she’s alright, he should probably go find Wendy and explain why he disappeared last night as he didn’t text her since his phone died. Chanel agrees that Wendy is probably worried and encourages him to go now. Johnny says he’s on his way and tells Chanel to take care as he’ll see her around. Johnny starts to leave but Chanel gets a call from Julie, who tells her that Paulina went missing from the hospital.

Rafe questions Colin knowing where Abe is but he can’t tell them and he has to take them to him. Colin claims that they won’t find him without him. Sloan tells Colin not to say another word and then tells Rafe and Paulina that she needs a moment with her client. Paulina argues to let him finish because her husband’s life is at stake. Rafe reminds Paulina that they have to follow the law. Rafe orders Paulina to leave so they don’t get the case thrown out. Rafe then exits with Paulina. Sloan shuts the door and questions what the hell Colin is doing since he told her last night that he didn’t know anything about Abe’s disappearance. Sloan questions why he would confess to the cops if he did have something to do with it. Colin responds that he didn’t confess, he just said that he knew where Abe was. Sloan asks Colin one more time for the truth as to if he knows where Abe is.

Whitley asks what Abe means that she didn’t look like herself. Abe explains that in his dream, it was her but it wasn’t. She asks what he thinks that means. Abe says she looked different and wasn’t dressed like a nurse. Whitley blows it off as just a dream and says she will go make him sausage and eggs for breakfast. Abe stops her and shouts that he hates sausage. Whitley tries to argue that he’s just forgotten but Abe insists that he has not forgotten hating sausage.

Wendy and Tripp eat breakfast. Wendy guesses she was hungry. Wendy brings up Tripp saying earlier that she had three guys fighting over her and says she’s totally not used to that. Wendy brings up that her father used to tell her that she would never get married if she didn’t wear makeup or stop dressing in comfortable clothes. Tripp encourages that she is beautiful just the way she is. Wendy calls Tripp such a good guy and says she feels kind of guilty that she’s indecisive. Wendy hopes he knows that she’s totally cool with him seeing other people too. Tripp responds that he doesn’t want to see other people. Wendy goes over that Tripp is handsome, smart, and nice, calling him a total catch that could have anyone he wants. Tripp says he won’t test that theory because the only person he wants is her as they kiss.

Chanel thanks Julie and says she’ll be in touch as she hangs up. Johnny sits back down and questions Paulina missing. Chanel explains that Julie said Paulina left the hospital against doctor’s orders and Julie thought she went back to her apartment but she wasn’t there. Chanel worries about where she could be. Johnny encourages her to breathe and decides he’s going to help her find Paulina. Chanel reminds him that Wendy is waiting for him but Johnny states that this is more important. Chanel doesn’t even know where to start looking. Johnny responds that he has an idea.

Paulina complains that it’s been long enough and she wants to go back in to the interrogation room. Rafe reminds her that they have to follow the law and they don’t even know if Colin is telling the truth. Paulina argues that he is their number one suspect, questioning who else would take Abe. Paulina says she has lots of enemies, but Abe doesn’t. Rafe gets a call from Chanel, who tells him about Paulina going missing from the hospital this morning and she’s really worried about her. Rafe informs Chanel that Paulina is right here at the police station as she came to confront Colin, but she didn’t tell him that she left the hospital against medical advice. Rafe then asks Chanel to come take her back to the hospital, so Chanel says she’ll be right there and hangs up. Rafe informs Paulina that Chanel is on her way, but Paulina refuses to go anywhere until she finds out what Colin knows about where Abe is.

Whitley asks Abe what he would like instead for breakfast. Abe suggests toast and tea. Whitley asks about his headache. Abe says it’s dropping a bit and asks her to turn on the TV but Whitley says the news is too upsetting and screen time should be limited while he recovers. Abe questions if she is his mother or his wife. Whitley blames his concussion. Abe grabs the remote and turns the TV on himself.

Jada checks on Talia and asks if she needs any meds. Talia asks her to stop worrying about her as she’s caused Jada enough trouble already. Talia is surprised Jada even let her stay here. Jada says she’s her sister and she loves her. Jada questions what Colin did to her to make her feel so bad about herself. Talia responds that Colin did nothing but Jada argues that he messed with her mind. Talia says that’s because she let him. Jada points out that Talia turned him in and should be proud of herself as even the newspaper is calling her a hero which she thinks will help her case. Talia cries that she’s not a hero. Talia admits she was scared of Colin as he was furious with her. Talia says for a second, she thought maybe he would forgive her for turning on him and she felt so relieved. Talia reveals that she almost really went away with him and asks what is wrong with her. Jada says there’s nothing wrong with her. Talia knows she did the right thing by giving Chanel the badge, but she constantly hears Colin’s voice in her head. Talia breaks down crying that she betrayed him.

Colin admits to Sloan that he doesn’t know where Abe is, but argues that the cops don’t need to know that because if he can get them to agree to let him take them to Abe, then he’s sure he can escape. Sloan questions making things worse for himself and worries that if he tries to escape again, he could end up dead. Sloan calls Colin selfish, pointing out that he’s the only family she has left. Sloan says if Colin pleads guilty, she can at least try for a plea deal. Sloan adds that there will be prison time. Colin blames Talia but Sloan says he might not have trashed Paulina’s office or drugged the biscuits, but she can’t get him off for what he did on the roof and assaulting a cop. Sloan is relieved that Colin didn’t actually kidnap the mayor, but says he has to admit to everything he’s done. Colin doesn’t want to go to prison, but Sloan says there is no choice so she asks what it will be.

Tripp and Wendy continue kissing until there’s a knock at the door. Wendy answers to see Johnny with breakfast. Wendy informs him that she already ate. Johnny comes in and sees that Tripp is back. Wendy informs Johnny that Tripp flew in last night and made her breakfast as well as tacos for dinner last night since Johnny never showed up because he was too busy with Chanel. Johnny says he can explain. Wendy questions if he can explain why he didn’t even call. Johnny says he couldn’t because he was stuck at the police station all night. Tripp doubts there was no cell signal at the police station and points out that they also have landlines. Johnny asks to talk to Wendy alone for a second. Tripp agrees to go take a shower but Wendy says no, arguing that Tripp lives here so Johnny can’t tell him what to do or where to go. Tripp tells Wendy not to worry and that it’s fine as he heads to his room. Johnny pleads with Wendy to let him explain this. Wendy tells him to explain what he was doing at the police station.

Jada argues that Talia didn’t betray anyone. Talia brings up that Colin never hurt her physically. Jada argues that emotionally abusive relationships turn physical almost all the time and she sees it almost every day. Jada thinks Talia should see a therapist and help figure out what happened and why. Jada mentions that Marlena is apparently the best. Talia questions why it would matter to work through her feelings if she’s going to prison anyway. Jada asks why she’s giving up so easily and encourages her to be the strong woman she knows. Talia argues that it was all just an act. Talia talks about putting a lot of pressure on herself because she didn’t think she would measure up and that’s the only reason that she succeeded at anything. Jada argues that Talia is bright, hard working, and not someone who gives up. Jada apologizes for not knowing that she was hurting and suffering. Jada asks what it would hurt to talk to Marlena. Jada asks Talia to do it for her, so she agrees to as they hug.

Whitley unplugs the cable so that Abe can’t watch TV, then claims the cable must be out because she didn’t pay the bill. Whitley talks about not making enough, so Abe asks if he doesn’t have a job and she tells him that he’s retired. Whitley makes up a story that Abe owned an ice cream shop which he calls a vague memory. Whitley says she will go pick up a shift at work and mentions that Chanel is busy at her bakery. Whitley encourages that even though the cable is out, he can watch her recordings of 15 years of Body & Soul.

Rafe reminds Paulina that she was hospitalized for hypertension. Paulina claims she’s fine now. Rafe questions why she left the hospital. Paulina explains that Chanel went to get her dinner, but then she texted her that something came up and then she saw on the news that Chanel was involved in the arrest of Colin and no one even told her. Rafe assures that Chanel was never in danger and they still have not established a definite connection between Abe’s disappearance and Colin. Paulina argues that he just admitted it. Rafe repeats that they don’t know if he’s telling the truth yet. Sloan comes out of the interrogation room and announces that Colin was mistaken and doesn’t know anything about Abe’s disappearance. Rafe takes it that Colin was lying then. Paulina suggests he could be lying now and this could be one of Sloan’s tactics. Sloan insists that she was very clear that Colin had to be straight with her so she could use any information to his advantage, so she’s certain that he doesn’t know where Abe is. Sloan calls that the God’s honest truth.

Johnny tells Wendy that he’s really sorry because the last thing he meant to do was let her down. Johnny questions her not saying anything. Wendy responds that she understands he witnessed a crime and had to make a statement, but she doesn’t understand why he didn’t let her know. Johnny admits that he should have, but they were questioning him for quite awhile and by the time he had a chance, his phone had died. Wendy questions Johnny not asking to use someone else’s phone. Johnny wishes he would have, but admits he was a little distracted by all the drama. Johnny says he feels terrible and he knows no apology will make up for how he stood her up. Johnny asks if there’s any other way he can make it up to her and offers to take her out to dinner, anywhere she wants to go.

Chanel gets Paulina back in her hospital bed. Paulina complains that she’s scared since she doesn’t know where or how Abe is. Chanel encourages her to rest and says it has to be okay.

Jada joins Rafe at the police station where Rafe informs her that Colin said he knew where Abe was but then recanted it. Rafe feels if Colin knew where Abe was, he’d give him up. Rafe adds that Nurse Whitley is their only potential witness left but they don’t even know if she saw anything and she still hasn’t returned his call. Rafe hoped that Jada could follow up with her and says he knows they were going to go together, but now he has to deal with charging Colin. Jada says if he doesn’t mind, she has a personal interest in seeing this Colin case through, so she asks if they can switch. Rafe agrees and says he will follow up with Nurse Whitley.

Whitley tells Abe about her collection of 15 years of Body & Soul recordings. She tells him that she’s going to work and will lock the door. She brings up the man who attacked him still being out there and that he was impersonating a cop, so it’s very important that Abe not answer the door, especially if the cops show up. Whitley says she’ll see him soon, kisses him on the cheek, and then exits.

Talia arrives at the hospital and comes across Chanel.

Tripp comes out of the shower as Wendy agrees to dinner at the Bistro with Johnny. Johnny says it’s a date and then questions if Tripp walks around the apartment in just a towel. Tripp reminds him that he lives here. Tripp then says that if Johnny can’t make it tonight or has another emergency with Chanel, he’s making stir fry which he knows is Wendy’s favorite. Tripp then heads back to his room.

Chanel tries to walk away but Talia stops her and asks if they’ve found Abe. Chanel says no, because first Colin said he knew where Abe was and then said he didn’t. Talia states that Colin is not her boyfriend anymore. Chanel tells her to just stay the hell away from her and Paulina. Chanel questions what Talia is even doing there. Talia explains that she came to make an appointment with Marlena because Jada thought it would be a good idea to talk about why she did the things she did for Colin. Talia tells Chanel that she’s sorry about everything but she doesn’t know what else to say anymore as she then walks away.

Jada finishes a call and tells Sloan that Melinda is on her way. Jada questions if Sloan couldn’t convince Colin to plead guilty. Sloan admits she tried but he’s not having it. Jada says that’s too bad as Melinda is going to throw the book at him, especially for all the transgressions after the initial crime. Jada brings up that Colin escaped police custody, tried to kidnap her sister, and lied while being interrogated. Sloan is well aware of the charges against her brother but he’s her brother and she loves him. Sloan remarks that she imagines Jada feels the same about her sister. Jada argues that Colin manipulated her while Sloan argues that they were in a consensual relationship and that Talia was a willing participant. Jada responds that Talia takes responsibility for what she did. Sloan says that Colin does too and that he hasn’t been quite the same since their parents died. Jada warns her about trying the insanity defense while Sloan tells her not to dare try to tell her how to defend her client. Sloan adds that Jada should stop worrying so much about Colin and start finding Abe as he seems to have been displaced on her watch.

Abe watches Body & Soul until Rafe knocks on the door.

Paulina talks on the phone to Julie, assuring that she’s back in her hospital bed and she doesn’t need to come as she is fine, or she will be when they find out who really took Abe and where he is. Nurse Whitley then enters Paulina’s room.

Days of Our Lives Update

Johnny is at the DiMera Mansion, on the phone with Wendy. Johnny suggests they have dinner at the Pub but Wendy jokes about avoiding another run in with Leo. Johnny decides he can pickup takeout and meet her at her place, so they can avoid anyone else. After they hang up, Tripp returns home and surprises Wendy.

At the police station, Rafe complains about not finding anything on Colin yet. Jada points out that they don’t even know if Colin is still in Salem. Rafe suggests going over everything they know so far. Jada talks about Abe waking up and not recognizing Chanel, so she went to go find a doctor. Rafe worries that was long enough for Colin to take Abe out of the hospital. Jada points out that Abe was suffering memory loss and wouldn’t have even recognized Colin dressed as a cop. Rafe worries that Abe might not even know the danger he’s in.

Whitley, the nurse pretending to be Paulina, tells Abe that she is going to cook them a delicious homecooked meal. Abe responds that this just doesn’t seem like his home or the least bit familiar, so he’s just not sure. Abe questions if she is sure that she’s his wife.

Chanel checks on Paulina in the hospital. Paulina complains that she needs the cops to find Abe. Chanel encourages her to breathe and stay positive so her blood pressure doesn’t spike again. Chanel suggests Paulina eat to keep up her strength. Julie arrives and agrees, saying that she knows Abe would want the woman he loves to take care of herself. Chanel asks Julie to stay with Paulina while she goes to get her a burger from the Pub. Chanel then exits. Julie tells Paulina that she came as soon as she heard she was in the hospital. Paulina complains that she’s tense because Abe was kidnapped by a maniac and it’s all her fault. Julie encourages that nothing will happen to Abe because he’s a survivor and he can handle Colin.

Colin grabs Talia in her room and covers her mouth, telling her that she cannot scream. Colin lets her go, so Talia asks what he wants. Colin responds that he needs to settle the score.

Wendy asks what Tripp is doing here. Tripp reminds her that he lives here. Wendy says she just wasn’t expecting him and asks how Joey is. Tripp says he’s doing well and been out of the hospital for 6 weeks, so he’s starting to get around on his own. Wendy figured it would be a lot longer considering how bad he broke his leg. Wendy asks if Joey was okay with Tripp leaving. Tripp confirms that Joey was with his girlfriend and the doctors gave him the all clear. Tripp adds that Joey was ready to have his place back and he had a pretty important reason to come home. Wendy asks what. Tripp says it was her.

Chanel goes to the Brady Pub and runs in to Johnny, who says he heard about Abe being kidnapped and he’s so sorry. Johnny asks how Paulina is holding up. Chanel informs him that she was just admitted to the hospital for hypertension. Chanel cries that Paulina was already having panic attacks because of Sloan and now because of Abe being kidnapped, they are both scared. Johnny hugs Chanel and assures that Abe will be okay as the cops are not going to rest until they bring him home. Chanel mentions that Julie is staying with Paulina while she picks up food. Johnny mentions that he also came to pick up food for he and Wendy. Chanel asks how that’s going. Johnny says so far so good as long as he can get Leo to leave them alone. Chanel hopes things work out for them because she really wants him to be happy. Chanel then gets a text from the district attorney’s office that Talia was released on bail which shocks them. Chanel remarks that she bets the bitch is right upstairs.

Talia begs Colin not to hurt her. Colin argues that she pushed him off a building. Talia cries that she was just trying to keep him from doing something that he would regret. Colin remarks that he only regrets that she got in his way because he wanted Chanel and Paulina dead, but instead they almost ended up like that. Colin declares that he’s so very disappointed in Talia. Colin says they almost had everything they wanted but then she betrayed him to save that worthless, homicidal whore.

Rafe tells Jada that he just checked in with the officers, who are going over the hospital security footage. Jada says she wouldn’t be surprised if he avoided the cameras. Rafe insists that someone had to have seen him sneak Abe out of there. Jada looks over the file and asks what about Whitley King.

Whitley insists to Abe that she is his wife, reminding him that Chanel showed him their wedding photo at the hospital. Abe remains uncertain and says this just doesn’t feel right. Whitley encourages that soon, his memory will come back. She calls it par for the course with what he’s been through and promises that soon, everything will start feeling normal again. Abe agrees to give it time.

Julie tells Paulina that Abe would not want her blaming herself for all of this. Paulina insists that she is to blame, because if Abe didn’t marry her, he would have never been anywhere near Colin. Paulina points out that it’s the second time that Abe has been brutally attacked because of her secrets and lies. Julie blames herself for the T.R. situation since she’s the one who told Abe to find Paulina that night, to tell her that he wanted her back. Paulina argues that Julie couldn’t have known. Julie says the same that Paulina couldn’t have known what Colin would pull. Julie urges her to stop blaming herself. Julie praises Paulina as smart, pretty, and loyal with more love in her heart than anyone she has met. Julie calls her a blessing to everyone in her life and says that Abe and Chanel treasure her more than she knows. Julie tells her again to stop blaming herself. Paulina thanks her and doesn’t know how she would get through this without her. Julie assures that she’s not going anywhere and any minute now, the police will catch a break.

Rafe and Jada talk about Whitley being on duty on Abe’s floor that night so it’s possible she saw something. Rafe decides they should find out and makes a phone call to the hospital to get Whitley’s contact information.

Whitley tells Abe that she’s going to get dinner ready and heads to the kitchen. Abe decides to turn on the TV and sees the news reports an update on the search for Colin Bedford.

Colin argues that Talia ruined the plan for that stupid skank. Talia argues that she didn’t do it for Chanel, but to keep him from life in prison or the death penalty. Colin complains that no one would’ve known where he was if Talia didn’t bring Jada to the roof. Talia cries that she was terrified for him and that pushing him off the roof was an accident as she was trying to get the gun from him. Talia points out that he can’t think she would’ve wanted to go off the roof. Talia reminds Colin that every cop in Salem is looking for him, so she asks why he’s still in Salem and in Jada’s room of all places. Talia asks why he didn’t just run. Colin says not without the woman he loves.

Chanel wants to go upstairs and confront Talia but Johnny stops her and tells her to take it easy. Chanel questions how to do that when Talia is free and her psycho boyfriend is doing God knows what to Abe. Johnny says Talia is not free, just out on bail, and insists that she will pay for what she did. Chanel complains about Talia pretending to be her friend and trying to get her to fall for her just so she could ruin her life. Chanel asks how she could let this happen and says she feels like such a fool. Johnny responds that Chanel is nobody’s fool. Chanel remarks that if she wasn’t so clueless, maybe she could’ve stopped Colin before he hurt Abe. Chanel insists on going to confront Abe. Johnny tells her no but Chanel argues that Talia could know where Colin took Abe. Johnny asks if she really thinks Talia would give him up if she knew. Chanel responds that she doesn’t know but she owes it to Abe to try. Johnny says fine but he’s coming with her.

Wendy texts Johnny, asking when he is coming over. Tripp unpacks his bags and says he’ll straighten up later but right now he’s starving. Tripp offers to cook but Wendy says she actually has dinner plans as Johnny is bringing over takeout. Tripp questions her still hanging out with Johnny and jokes that he figured Johnny moved on but says that’s too bad. Tripp says it’s fine that Johnny is still around as he respects Wendy keeping her options open, but he wants to make sure that she has no problem in making the right choice very soon. Wendy comments that Tripp seems different in a good way with more confidence. Tripp responds that being away gave him time to think about how much he missed her and what he wanted to change when he got back. Tripp feels in the past, he didn’t assert himself enough with women he cared about as he was too insecure and ended up politely stepping aside with all these regrets. Tripp decides he’s not going to do that anymore and will make sure his intentions are known right from the start. Tripp says that he will be respectful, but also assertive as he declares that he intends to be Wendy’s man.

Chanel tells Johnny that it’s not a good idea for him to come upstairs with her. Johnny argues that she’s not going alone as Talia could try something. Chanel insists that Talia is not going to hurt her. Johnny gets Wendy’s text and tells her that he will be there soon. Chanel insists that she needs to go confront Talia alone because she’ll be more likely to tell her where Abe is if she doesn’t feel threatened or ambushed and time is running out. Johnny gives in but decides he’s going to wait right here and if Chanel doesn’t come back soon, he’s coming up to get her. Chanel accepts that and thanks him as she then heads upstairs.

Rafe is on the phone, trying to get Whitley’s contact information and asks them to please help him out on this. Rafe thanks them and hangs up, informing Jada that he got Whitley’s contact information. Jada decides they will find out what she knows about Abe’s disappearance.

Abe watches the news report on Colin going missing, but Whitley comes back and turns off the TV before they can mention Abe’s disappearance. Abe questions what she did that for. Whitley says she heard them talking about the man who attacked him and they don’t need to relive those grisly details. Abe argues that he does so he might be able to recover some of his memories. Whitley feels those memories are better left forgotten. Abe complains that he doesn’t even know why this man attacked him or what he did to him. Whitley says they don’t need to talk about this right now. Abe shouts that he wants to talk about it and asks her to tell him what happened. Whitley then gets a phone call from Rafe. Abe questions her not answering it.

Talia questions Colin saying he stayed for her. Colin responds that he needs her and can’t imagine his life without her, which is why they are going to leave Salem together. Talia pulls back so Colin questions if she doesn’t want to come with him. Talia says she does but she just needs to pack a bag first. Colin argues that she can get whatever she needs on the road. Talia stops to ask Colin where Abe is. Colin asks what the hell she’s talking about. Chanel then knocks on the door, yelling that she knows Talia is in there and demanding that she open the door.

Paulina gets a text from Melinda that Talia has been let go and made bail. Julie doesn’t see how that’s possible when it’s a fact that Talia worked for Colin, ransacked Paulina’s office, and poisoned half of Salem. Julie questions how they could do that. Paulina doubts Talia will ever help Colin again since she risked her own life to help her and Chanel on the roof. Julie is glad they are alright. Paulina wishes she could say the same for Abe. Paulina talks about seeing the rage in Colin’s eyes when he held her captive. Paulina worries that Colin is taking it out on Abe and punishing her by making sure her husband never comes home. Paulina starts to panic, saying it can’t end this way. Julie encourages that it’s not going to end as her love story with Abe has many more chapters. Julie then brings up that it’s about time for their first wedding anniversary. Paulina admits it slipped her mind. Julie encourages that in a short time, she will be holding Abe in her arms again and they will celebrating their first wedding anniversary while all of Salem will be celebrating Juneteenth.

Abe asks Whitley who is calling. She claims that it says potential spam and ignores it. Whitley then goes back to the kitchen to continue preparing dinner.

Rafe’s call goes to voicemail and leaves a message for Whitley, saying he needs to speak to her right away about the abduction of Abe and asks her to call him back as soon as possible. Rafe tells Jada that they will just have to wait for her to call them back. Jada then suggests they could visit her in person.

Wendy thinks Tripp has made his intentions pretty clear and remembers what he said to her before she left Seattle. Tripp responds that he doesn’t plan to be passive anymore and he plans to sweep her off her feet to make her forget all about Johnny and all other men, if he’s still in the running. Wendy assures that he is. Tripp tells Wendy that she can go ahead and wait for Johnny and his lukewarm takeout, but when she’s ready for something a lot more appetizing, she knows where to find him. Tripp then heads to his room.

Chanel continues pounding on Talia’s door. Colin remarks that it looks like he has a second chance with her after all. Talia stops him and warns that he can’t shoot Chanel because the place is full of people that will hear it. Talia encourages that they still have a chance to get out of here, but if he kills Chanel, then they will both end up in prison. Talia asks Colin to let her talk to Chanel, so she can get her to go away and then they can both leave and go far away together. Talia tells Colin to trust that she can handle Chanel. Colin tells her to make it quick as he goes to hide in the bathroom. Talia then answers the door and tells Chanel that it’s not a good time. Chanel says that’s too bad as she’s going to make time for what she has to say. Chanel brings up everything Talia has done to her. Talia tells her to give it a rest already and to stop playing victim all the time. Talia argues that Chanel brought all of this on herself when she seduced a man and killed his wife. Colin listens in from behind the door. Chanel responds that it’s not how it went down no matter what her deranged boyfriend told her. Chanel questions what the hell Colin did with Abe. Talia says she doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Chanel accuses her of lying and says she knows he told her. Talia claims that she hasn’t seen or spoken to Colin since they got taken to the hospital. Chanel informs her that Abe was also in the hospital, getting brain surgery since Colin bashed him over thead with a rolling pin, and then when he woke up, Colin kidnapped him, so she needs her to tell her where he is. Talia responds that she can’t tell her anything that she doesn’t know. Chanel argues that Talia knows what Colin’s doing is wrong and that’s why she saved her life on the roof. Talia claims that her life means nothing and that she did it for Colin, so he wouldn’t get a murder charge like what Chanel did to his mother. Chanel calls her a damn liar. Talia doesn’t care what she believes but tells her that she has to leave now as she hurries her out the door. Talia tells Chanel to leave and not come back. Talia then slips Chanel the police badge from Colin’s stolen uniform and whispers for her to help her as she shuts the door.

Tripp cooks dinner as Wendy comes in and says something smells great. Tripp says not half as great as she looks. Tripp asks where her date is as he thought he was supposed to be here by now. Wendy says he was, so she assumes that he’s on his way. Tripp tells Wendy not to worry as when Johnny shows up late, he’ll take his delicious tacos to his room to enjoy all by himself, or she could cancel on Johnny and eat with him.

Johnny waits at the Pub as Chanel comes back downstairs. Johnny asks her what’s wrong. Chanel responds that she thinks Colin is up there. Johnny asks if she saw him. Chanel explains that she saw Talia and she claimed to know nothing about Abe and that she hasn’t seen Colin, but as she was being forced out by her, she mouthed “help me” and slipped her the police badge in to her hand. Johnny states that it’s a real police badge and realizes that Colin stole a cop’s uniform. Johnny decides he’s calling Rafe.

Whitley brings Abe dinner and says she’s going to make the bed, so they can turn in right after supper. Abe stops her and says he can’t go to bed with her.

Jada tells Rafe that they have nurse Whitley’s address, so she suggests they go over there and see what she knows. Rafe then gets a call from Johnny, who tells him that he needs to get to the Brady Pub right away as he’s there with Chanel and they think Colin is upstairs with Talia. Rafe says he’s on his way and hangs up. Rafe informs Jada that Johnny and Chanel are at the Pub and they think Talia might be there with Colin.

Colin comes out from hiding as Talia says she told him that she could get rid of Chanel. Colin remarks that it’s good to see her head back in the game as he was thinking she had gone soft on him. Talia kisses Colin and says she would never. Colin says when the heat dies down, he’ll sneak back in to town to finish the job on Chanel and Paulina. Talia says they should probably get going. Colin thought she wanted to pack a bag but Talia decides he was right that she can get stuff on the road. Colin then turns around and notices the police badge is missing. Colin questions where it is, saying he put it right on the table. Talia claims not to know what he’s talking about. Colin tells her to stop lying to him as he grabs her and accuses her of giving it to Chanel.

Chanel complains about the cops taking so long. Johnny says that Rafe said he was on his way. Chanel says he needs to hurry. Johnny gets a call from Wendy and says he totally forgot about her. Johnny answers the call as Wendy asks where he is as she thought he was on his way. Johnny informs her that something came up and he’s with Chanel which Wendy questions. Johnny explains that they ran in to each other at the Pub. Rafe and Jada then arrive. Johnny tells Wendy that he has to go and hangs up. Chanel explains to Rafe and Jada what happened with Talia and shows them the badge. Jada says she has to get up there. Rafe tells Johnny and Chanel to stay there as he and Jada head upstairs.

Tripp asks Wendy if everything is okay. Wendy responds that Johnny is not coming because he’s with Chanel. Tripp asks if she’s okay. Wendy says she’s fine and she’s suddenly so in the mood for tacos.

Talia cries that Colin is hurting her. Colin says it’s nothing compared to what he’ll do to her if she doesn’t find the badge. Rafe and Jada approach the door. Talia tries to say maybe it fell under the table but Colin grabs her and pulls his gun out, telling her to give it up and calling her a backstabbing bitch. Colin declares that he knows what Talia has done and now he’s going to make her pay for it. Rafe and Jada burst in with their guns drawn as Colin grabs Talia at gunpoint. Jada tells Colin that it’s over while Rafe demands he let Talia go now. Colin lets Talia go and she runs to Jada’s arms. Rafe forces Colin to drop his gun and then arrests him.

Paulina tells Julie that if she knew Chanel would take this long getting burgers, she would’ve settled for the hospital food. Julie talks about how easily distracted kids can get these days. Paulina hopes that’s all it is and she didn’t have another run in with Talia or Colin as she doesn’t know how much more trauma her family can take.

Abe tells Whitley that he wouldn’t feel comfortable sharing a bed with her when he doesn’t remember who she is. Whitley offers to pull the sofa out in to a bed which Abe says he would appreciate. She calls it only temporary as they have the whole rest of their lives together.

Xander cooks egg sandwiches for he and Chloe. Xander encourages her to try it and she admits it’s really good. Xander says it pairs nicely with the champagne. Xander talks about Scottish people inventing things which Chloe jokes with him about. Xander then kisses Chloe. Chloe responds by slapping him.

At the police station, Rafe is on the phone saying he wants all hands on deck and this to be his top priority. Rafe hangs up as Talia comes in with Belle. Rafe asks how the arraignment went. Talia responds that she made bail. Rafe states that Jada will be relieved. Belle notes that it helps that Talia showed great remorse and agreed to testify against Colin. Rafe points out that will all be moot if they can’t find Colin. Talia questions what he means. Rafe reveals to them that Colin has escaped.

Leo argues that Jada can’t put him in jail when he’s an innocent civilian who hasn’t done anything wrong. Jada responds that he had contact with a known fugitive and didn’t tell the police. Leo admits he was scared and shows Jada what Colin did to his phone, saying he was afraid he would do the same thing to him if he ratted him out. Jada asks if Leo’s sure he didn’t want to just write about it in his column. Leo insists and pleads with her not to put him in jail. Jada responds that it won’t come to that as long as he tells her every detail about his run in with Colin. Leo agrees to do that but asks if she can keep his name out of it because he does not need another target on his back. Jada questions him saying another target. Leo responds that Colin is not the only evil European out to get him because a couple summers ago, he may have incurred the wrath of one of Salem’s newest bad boys in Dimitri Von Leuschner.

Kristen tells Megan that she has to agree with Dimitri as she is preparing for a custody fight and showing up with her nephew on her arm won’t win her brownie points with the judge. Megan calls them pathetic. Dimitri says there are plenty of fish in the sea. Megan feels most of them are not suitable for him to marry. Megan declares that if they are not keeping it in the family, they have to find someone very special for him to marry. Gwen then walks in and says she’s looking for Dimitri. Dimitri introduces himself as Gwen mentions being the editor in chief of the Spectator. Dimitri takes it that she’s a reporter. Kristen calls Gwen her friend but guesses she’s here on business. Gwen admits she’s here for the scoop on Dimitri as he’s causing quite the stir and she’s sure her readers would love to know more about him. Megan remarks that it seems she has come to the right place. Megan asks Kristen to introduce her to Gwen, so she does. Megan asks how they know each other. Kristen asks if Gwen wants to tell her. Gwen jokes that Kristen blackmailed her into escaping police custody. Kristen responds that she returned the favor by helping Gwen out of a jam or two, including getting her a pardon when they were in prison together. Dimitri asks what brought Gwen to prison. Gwen explains that her sister Abigail was being a bit of trouble and she perceived her to be quite a threat, so she sort of shipped her off to a deserted island but she was eventually rescued and found out that Gwen was responsible. Dimitri guesses that was a trying time for her. Gwen says she will always regret doing that to Abigail but says that’s enough about her. Gwen then asks about Dimitri, saying she’s been following his story and finds it fascinating so she would love to get an interview with him. Dimitri responds that he’s sorry but he’s not interested in doing press but Megan encourages him not to be so hasty.

Jada asks Leo what happened after Colin broke his phone. Leo says he just walked away and he didn’t follow him since he had a gun. Jada asks if there is anything else she should know. Leo swears that’s everything. Jada thanks him for his time. Leo stops her and says he answered all of her questions, so he thinks it’s only fair that she answers some of his questions about her sister, Talia Hunter.

Talia questions Colin taking Abe hostage. Rafe clarifies that they don’t know for sure but it’s a hell of a coincidence. Talia worries that Paulina and Chanel must be freaking out and asks if there are any leads. Rafe responds that Jada is interviewing a potential witness as they speak.

Xander can’t believe Chloe slapped him again. Chloe can’t believe Xander kissed her again and points out that Gwen’s not here to witness so it wasn’t for her benefit. Xander explains that he felt a vibe between them and thought maybe she felt it too but asks if he was wrong. Chloe admits that he was not completely off base. Xander asks if she felt a spark too then. Chloe says maybe and then admits that she did feel it and not just tonight, but ever since they moved in together there has been something between them. Xander is happy that he’s not going mad but asks why Chloe doesn’t seem thrilled since she said she’s moving on from Brady. Chloe acknowledges that she and Brady don’t have a future together, but she hates that she is attracted to Xander.

Belle encourages Talia that Colin’s escape has no bearing on her situation as her bail has been granted so she’s free to go and just needs to be very careful. Talia can’t believe all of this is happening and asks what Colin was thinking. Belle hopes that the police will find him and Abe will come back safe and sound. Talia prays that she’s right and thanks Belle for all of her help. Belle tells Talia not to hesitate to call if she needs anything. Belle then exits the station. Talia asks Rafe if there’s any word but he says not yet. Rafe asks if Talia has any idea where Colin might be going. Talia says no and suggests he could go back to New York but he doesn’t have any friends there to speak of. Rafe tells Talia to think about it and let him know if she comes up with anything. Talia then stops Rafe and says she owes him an apology.

Jada asks what questions Leo has about her sister. Leo asks how things are looking for her since she was arrested for being Colin’s partner in crime. Jada argues that she wasn’t his partner in crime and didn’t kill anyone. Leo points out that Talia did trash Paulina’s office and drug the biscuits so he wouldn’t say her hands are clean in all of this. Jada blames Colin being extremely manipulative. Leo argues that it’s not like Talia didn’t have a choice as Colin didn’t have a gun to her head. Jada responds that it’s easy to say when you’re not being abused. Leo questions if Jada is saying that Talia was trapped in an abusive relationship and if he can quote her on that.

Dimitri says he’s suffering from jet lag so this is the last thing he needs. Megan argues that DiMeras don’t do jet lag and says this isn’t just any reporter since Gwen is a friend of Kristen’s, so she sure she has no agenda. Gwen insists that she just wants to get Dimitri’s story out there as there are already some rumors out there so she’d like to give him a chance to put a stop to them. Dimitri responds that he doesn’t give a damn what people think so they can let the rumor mill churn. Gwen asks if he’s sure that’s wise and he wouldn’t like to think about it. Dimitri thanks Gwen for the opportunity but repeats that his answer is no. Megan asks for a private word with Dimitri, so they step out of the room together. Megan tells Dimitri that he does not want to miss this golden opportunity as it’s not about PR, but about making Gwen the future Mrs. Von Leuschner.

Gwen congratulates Kristen on her immunity deal and calls it very impressive how she keeps pulling rabbits out of her hat. Kristen responds that it’s all thanks to Megan this time. Gwen asks if Kristen has made an ally then. Kristen says maybe. Gwen asks if she doesn’t trust Megan. Kristen says of course not because she’s a DiMera. Gwen remarks that her son is too and he seems a bit feisty. Gwen notes that she’s quite feisty herself too and she’s very determined to get that interview, so she’s going to do everything in her power to make that happen.

Dimitri argues that Megan can’t be serious about wanting him to marry Gwen. Megan points out that he rejected her other idea. Dimitri questions just marrying the first stranger to walk in off the street. Megan feels Gwen is hardly a stranger since she and Kristen were prison mates. Dimitri calls it even worse that she’s a felon. Megan argues that Gwen’s crimes are child’s play compared to what they have done. Dimitri says the point is he should be in love with the person he’s going to marry. Megan says that’s a luxury they don’t have time for, reminding him that if he wants the Von Leuschner fortune then he has to be married by the time he turns 40 which is fast approaching. Megan orders Dimitri to forget about love and to go convince Gwen to marry him as soon as possible.

Jada tells Leo this interview is over. Leo asks if she doesn’t want her sister’s side of the story to be told, especially since she was being abused. Jada says she shouldn’t have told him that. Leo relates it to his father being physically abusive. Jada notes this was more like emotional abuse. Leo says he can relate to that too as his mother was the queen of all sorts of emotional abuse and blackmail. Jada appreciates his empathy, but says she can’t continue this conversation as she needs to focus on finding Abe and Colin. Leo says it’s his journalistic responsibility to print what she has already given him. Jada understands she can’t stop him from printing what he’s going to print, but as someone who has been abused, she would hope he would have some understanding of what Talia is going through. Jada hopes Leo has a heart and keeps her sister’s name out of his column. Jada then exits.

Rafe questions why Talia feels she owes him an apology. Talia reminds him that he went to the hospital because of her and he spent so much time and energy looking for the person responsible. Talia says that if she came forward sooner, things might not have gotten so bad, so she’s really sorry. Rafe appreciates her apology and respects her taking responsibility for her actions. Rafe wishes he could say the same about Colin. Talia says that all this time, she thought Colin was the victim because of what happened to his parents and that’s how she kept rationalizing what he was asking her to do for him. Talia swears that she never thought Colin was this dangerous or that he would hurt anybody. Rafe believes that Colin hid it pretty well. Talia feels really bad that she dragged her sister in to all of this. Talia knows it’s really bad for Jada that she’s caught up in this huge scandal. Rafe encourages that Jada cares about her and loves her which is why she hired the best damn lawyer she could find. Rafe advises Talia to do whatever the hell Belle tells her to do to make it up to Jada.

Belle goes home where she is surprised to see Shawn has returned home. They hug as Belle questions why he didn’t tell her that he was coming home. Shawn says things just sort of happened. Belle questions if Shawn has been drinking. Shawn admits he has but says not nearly enough as he takes another drink of a beer. Belle asks what’s going on and if something happened with his dad. Shawn responds that Bo is still in a coma and nothing has changed. Belle questions why he’s guzzling all of this beer then. Shawn says it’s because he shot his dad and put him in a coma. Belle repeats that it was an accident and everyone knows that, encouraging Shawn to stop torturing himself. Shawn argues that accident or not, Bo is holding on by a thread and Hope is a wreck, doing everything she can to stay positive. Shawn talks about having to see Hope suffering every day, knowing that he can’t help her. Shawn feels he just made things worse and that’s why he came home. Belle insists that Hope doesn’t blame him for what happened. Shawn says maybe not consciously. Shawn adds that after they got Bo situated, he felt it was best to make himself scarce and that’s why he came home. Belle encourages that Bo has a team of world class doctors and maybe they will find a way to bring him back to them. Shawn hopes Megan doesn’t find out where Bo is at because Hope has enough on her plate as it is. Belle then reveals that Megan is actually back in Salem and staying at the DiMera Mansion. Shawn is shocked and declares he’s going to give that bitch a piece of his mind.

Dimitri tells Megan that he knows there’s a time crunch but he’s not turning 40 tomorrow, so he’d like to explore his options. Megan questions what options since he isn’t seeing anyone and his last romantic encounter with Billie Reed was all an act. Dimitri questions Megan not seeing how crazy this is. Megan insists that the inheritance money is rightfully his. Megan adds that she has big plans that require significant funding, so he needs to put a ring on Gwen’s finger. Dimitri questions why Gwen when he’s known her for two minutes. Megan points out that Gwen is successful, smart, and beautiful, asking what more he needs to know. Dimitri mocks the idea of getting married, pointing out that he doesn’t even know if Gwen is single. Megan notes that she didn’t see a ring, so as far as she’s concerned, she’s fair game. Megan then orders Dimitri to get back in there and sweep Gwen off her feet.

Kristen comments on Gwen taking her reporter job very seriously. Gwen feels she has a knack for it and that she got it from her dad. Kristen remarks that it’s too bad she couldn’t bond with Jack over it, considering she did steal the paper from him and Jennifer. Gwen argues that Jack and Jennifer have another paper in Boston and they’re just fine. Kristen asks Gwen how it is working with her ex. Gwen calls that the least enjoyable part, especially considering the fact that he’s insisted on bringing in Chloe. Kristen calls Chloe a third rate singer and notes that her daughter calls Chloe the evil one. Kristen mentions that her daughter told her that Chloe and Xander were playing house together and then she saw them cozying up together yesterday. Gwen says that Xander said nothing romantic is going on between them, but she thinks it’s just a matter of time before they have a romp in the hay. Kristen is relieved that Chloe has finally detached herself from Brady. Kristen says she does feel bad for Gwen, but offers to give her some pro tips if she wants to get back at Chloe, if she wants to get back with Xander. Gwen responds that she appreciates it but that’s literally the last thing she wants. Gwen declares that she’s decided it’s time to hop off the Xander merry go round since it’s not serving her anymore, given his very fickle nature. Gwen states that she needs to put that behind her, move on with her life, and maybe find someone new as Dimitri and Megan return to the room.

Xander doesn’t understand why Chloe would be upset about having feelings for him. Chloe responds that it’s because he’s him. Chloe brings up Xander leaving her in the clutches of a Mexican drug lord, shooting Brady, locking Nicole in a shark cage, and being the clown who kidnapped Susan and Bonnie. Xander asks why Chloe has feelings for him if he’s so bloody awful. Chloe admits that she’s seen another side of him as a human being. Chloe says she could tell he meant it when he expressed his remorse over Susan’s death. Chloe guesses he does have a heart, acknowledging that he went to bat for her with Gwen, got her a job, and has been really kind to her including making dinner. Xander asks if Chloe is saying she might actually like him after all. Xander suggests she stop fighting her feelings and just give in to what her heart desires. Chloe calls it a really bad idea, noting that they live together and they work together so it could get really complicated really fast. Xander argues that they don’t have to commit to anything and just take it day by day to see where it goes, especially since she’s still getting over Brady. Chloe asks if Xander is really over Sarah. Xander assures that he is, noting that he still has feelings for her but he knows that ship has sailed. Chloe realizes she’s been involved with half of Xander’s relatives; Brady, Philip, Deimos, and Daniel, joking that she should swear off all Kiriakis men since it never seems to work out. Xander says he’s the best of the bunch and she’s never been with him. Xander encourages Chloe and suggest they kiss again to see how she feels. Chloe asks if he wants to risk getting slapped again. Xander says he’s willing to take his chance as they kiss.

Leo works on typing up his article about Colin and Talia, saying the readers may think they know everything about their tale of revenge but he has uncovered their latest and juiciest details yet. Leo types up Talia being a victim of emotional abuse at the hands of Colin and calls it a twisted relationship. Leo then decides he hates having a conscience and deletes what he typed.

Jada goes to the police station and tells Talia that she’s so happy that she made bail. Talia mentions hearing about Colin and asks if Leo was any help. Jada says not really and informs Rafe that when Leo ran in to Colin, he was still wearing the cop uniform and there was no sign of Abe. Rafe guesses they are back to square one. Talia tells them that she’s so sorry. Jada tells her not to worry as they won’t stop until they find them. Talia asks if there is anything she can do to help. Rafe advises her to go lock her door and let the police handle this. Jada agrees, noting that Colin is probably very upset about Talia turning on him, so she needs to be very careful. Rafe decides that he will have an officer give her a ride home, so she thanks him. Jada instructs Talia to call her right away if she hears anything from Colin as she hugs her.

Megan apologizes for the delay and announces that Dimitri has decided to do Gwen’s interview, which he confirms. Dimitri repeats that he is worn out from his travels, so he wants to schedule it for another time which Gwen agrees to. Megan suggests they chat over dinner tomorrow. Gwen asks to do it over lunch as she’s anxious to get the story out. Megan says they will get her contact information from Kristen and settle on the details. Gwen says she looks forward to hearing Dimitri’s story. Megan is so glad this worked out and says something tells her this lunch will be an exciting opportunity for both of them.

Belle stops Shawn and demands he give her his keys because he’s in no condition to drive and confronting Megan won’t change anything. Shawn argues that his dad is fighting for his life because of that bitch since she messed with his head and she deserves to have to answer for that. Belle says there is nothing they can do right now, so Shawn reluctantly hands over his keys. Shawn supposes as much as he would like to, he can’t place the blame squarely on Megan’s shoulders because he’s the one that pulled the trigger. Belle asks Shawn to stop drinking and come to bed. Shawn points out that he has two beers left. Belle thinks he would feel better if he got some sleep but Shawn refuses and asks her to leave him the hell alone.

After kissing, Chloe tells Xander that it was nice. Xander jokes that he hoped for more but Chloe says he’ll have to settle for nice for now. Xander says at least he didn’t get slapped this time, so that’s progress. Chloe tells him not to push it, so Xander says he won’t kiss her again even though he really wants to. Xander asks Chloe what they should do now. Chloe suggests getting back to their dinner.

Shawn apologizes to Belle for snapping at her, but says he just wants to be left alone. Belle argues that he’s drunk and not thinking straight, so the last thing he needs is to be alone. Shawn insists that he’s fine and she’s got his keys so he’s not going anywhere. Shawn tells Belle to just go to bed. Belle says she will wait up for him and that she loves him as she then heads to the bedroom.

Megan asks Kristen for any ideas on where Dimitri and Gwen can meet for lunch tomorrow. Kristen senses Megan believes that she found Dimitri a wife. Megan confirms that she believes Gwen will be a suitable means to an end. Kristen mocks that being romantic. Megan declares that what’s most important to them is that Dimitri inherits what is rightfully his and if it turns out to be a love match, so much the better.

Gwen returns home to the Salem Inn where Leo asks how it went with Dimitri. Gwen responds that he offered to give her an exclusive interview at lunch tomorrow. Leo asks how she managed to score such a hot story. Gwen guesses it was her magic. Leo laments that he’s got nothing for his column, pointing out that he had something great but someone had to go and guilt him out of it.

Jada asks Rafe why she would say anything to Leo, much less that Talia is in an abusive relationship. Rafe understands Leo is relentless and Jada was obviously upset. Jada worries that Leo is going to print every word that she said. Rafe encourages that if it ends up in his column, they will deal with it. Jada thanks him. Rafe says if she wants to go be with her sister, he will understand. Jada says she will go later but right now, the best way to help Talia is to find Colin, otherwise Talia could go down for everything that Colin made her do. Rafe promises that is not going to happen.

Talia returns home to her room and locks the door. Talia comments that she could use a long, hot shower. Talia then finds the police badge from the uniform that Colin stole, on the floor of her room. Talia then tries to run but is grabbed from behind.

Chloe comes home where Xander is waiting with a bottle of champagne to celebrate her first day at her new job. Chloe storms in, grabs the bottle and takes a drink. Xander asks if it didn’t go well. Chloe responds that it’s all because of Gwen.

Gwen is in her room at the Salem Inn, typing up a hiring ad for the Spectator. Leo bursts in and tells Gwen that he needs her help because there’s a psycho on the loose and he has him in his sights.

Dimitri enters the DiMera Mansion, surprising Megan as they hug. Megan declares that Dimitri is now home where he belongs. Kristen remarks that another prodigal son is just what the family needed.

At the hospital, Nicole tells EJ and Eric that this is not some sick competition. Nicole complains that it’s about a child’s life, so she needs them to be kind to each other and to her. Nicole cries that it breaks her heart that something she’s been longing for so long could end painfully, so she needs them to help her through this regardless of the results and who the father is. Nicole asks if they can do that for her. Kayla comes over and announces that she has the results. Nicole asks if they can go somewhere private. Kayla says she would love to but she’s in the middle of an emergency. Eric asks if it has to do with Colin Bedford. Kayla responds that it’s a lot more than that because Abe has disappeared from his recovery room and the police think the two are connected.

Sloan is at her apartment, wondering where Colin is and what he’s up to now. Jada arrives, so Sloan questions what she wants. Jada reveals a search warrant. Sloan asks if she thinks she would be dumb enough to hide Colin in her own apartment. Jada says maybe not, but if she’s helping him then she might can find something. Sloan insists that she’s not, but questions thinking she’d be dumb enough to leave clues laying around if she was. Sloan remarks that the police department might be better off hiring officers that aren’t so easily overpowered by a guy who just fell off a roof. Jada tells Sloan that the mayor is missing and demands that she tell her now if she knows anything, warning that things will not go well for her or brother otherwise.

Gwen asks Leo to be more specific. Leo tells her that it’s Colin Bedford. Gwen thinks that makes no sense and that he’s being paranoid as she asks why Colin is out to get him. Leo explains that he lost his phone, so he flagged down a cop to help but it turned out to be Colin. Gwen questions Colin posing as a cop. Leo adds that now Colin knows that he knows, so he worries about Colin showing up at the door.

Megan asks Dimitri what took him so long to show up. Dimitri responds that the US Government were less than thrilled to grant them immunity so they made sure to make his customs process arduous. Megan is just glad he’s here now, where he belongs. Megan asks Dimitri if he remembers his aunt Kristen. Dimitri asks how he could forget, recalling the last time he saw Kristen in Amsterdam where she pointed a gun at his crotch. Kristen points out that she didn’t know he was her nephew at the time and thought he was just a pesky ISA agent with Billie Reed. Megan suggests letting bygones be bygones, especially if they are going to be married which Kristen and Dimitri both question.

Xander doesn’t get why Chloe would quit her job at the newspaper and asks what Gwen did. Chloe explains that Gwen rolled out the unwelcome mat in so many awful ways that she lost count. Chloe tells Xander that Gwen tried to make her office be a broom closet and then she was texting her every 45 minutes with an unreachable sales goal, setting her up to fail. Chloe knows Xander stuck his neck out for her to get the job but she won’t take that treatment from anyone. Xander apologizes as he had no idea that Gwen would treat her like this. Chloe understands that he tried. Xander responds that the problem is Chloe did not try and asks her not to quit yet. Xander points out that if Chloe quits, Gwen wins.

Gwen tells Leo that no one is coming to murder him. Leo complains that he’s not as optimistic. Gwen argues that Colin is on the run from the police, so Leo is the least of his problems. Leo worries that Colin thinks he might talk to the police and complains that Colin is legit scary. Leo talks about how hot Colin is as well. Gwen encourages that he has nothing to worry about and suggests he focus on something else, like his next column. Leo insists that he’s not writing about Colin since that’s what got him riled up in the first place. Gwen informs Leo that she actually needs him to find some dirt on somebody else.

Dimitri questions Megan already trying to marry him off and to his aunt at that. Kristen questions making this outrageous suggestion without consulting her first. Megan responds that she was confident they would go along with it, noting that they are not related by blood and it’s hardly breaking ground for the DiMeras. Megan brings up Kristen marrying Tony because it was Stefano’s wish and she saw the wisdom in it. Megan toasts to their upcoming marriage.

Sloan asks Jada about conflict of interest, since she has family mixed up in this as well. Jada argues that Talia would have had nothing to do with this if it wasn’t for Colin. Sloan points out that Talia was the one actually committing the crimes that Colin is accused of. Sloan tells Jada to finish up her search and get out already, remarking that she has enough on her mind with her boyfriend’s ex being pregnant which catches Jada’s attention. Sloan asks if Jada didn’t know and then informs her that Nicole is knocked up and the baby might be Eric’s.

Eric asks if Nicole is okay. Nicole worries about Abe. EJ encourages that they will find him and offers to volunteer a security team to help the search. Nicole asks if there are any leads. Kayla says not yet but she needs to get to her office for an update. Kayla says she’s sorry she can’t stay but she’ll be around if she needs her as she hugs Nicole. Nicole thanks Kayla for bringing the test. Kayla then walks away, leaving Nicole in between EJ and Eric with the test results.

Gwen shows Leo a photo of Dimitri, who he recognizes. Gwen explains that Dimitri is not only free, but has deep roots in Salem and reveals that he’s a Dimitri as he’s Megan Hathaway’s son. Gwen adds that Dimitri’s plane has just landed in Salem, so she wants Leo to find out why he’s here and what he wants. Leo responds that it sounds great but she’ll have to get someone else to cover it because he’s already got one psycho after him and doesn’t need another.

Dimitri tells Megan that he understands he and Kristen are not blood related but they are also not a good match and brings up their age difference. Megan thinks they could be highly compatible if they gave it a shot as they are both charming and charismatic. Megan suggests Dimitri proposes for practical reasons. Kristen asks for an explanation. Megan reveals that she recently found out there is a sizable amount of Von Leuschner that Dimitri is in line to collect, but there are strings as it specifies that Dimitri must be married before he’s 40 and he’s now 39. Dimitri questions why he’s never heard of this trust. Megan says she hasn’t either until now because some members of his extended family are hoping he won’t make the deadline, but the money is his if he acts. Dimitri asks how much money they are talking. Megan calls it more than enough to kickstart their plans as she and Kristen want to take over the world and she assumes that Dimitri is in.

Jada questions Sloan about Eric and Nicole, arguing that they aren’t even seeing each other and Nicole is with EJ now. Sloan confirms that but remarks that if Nicole is pregnant with Eric’s baby then Jada can blame her sister for that. Jada questions what Talia has to do with it. Sloan explains that Eric and Nicole had the drugged biscuits and while under the influence, they forgot all about her, EJ, and birth control. Jada calls that unfortunate for everyone involved. Sloan says it must bring up painful memories for Jada too since she and Eric would still be together if she hadn’t gotten that abortion and they could be singing to their baby but instead, Eric might finally get to be a father, just with someone else.

Eric tells Nicole that if she wants to wait on the test results until there’s an update on Abe, he will understand. EJ tells Eric to can the fake sympathy as he wants answers just as bad as he does. EJ feels it’s better to get it over with now and then once they have the answer, Nicole can focus on bringing Abe home. Eric questions if it is all about Abe while EJ asks if Nicole is tired of Eric buzzing around. Nicole stops them and asks them to just let her do this. Nicole then opens the envelope and reads the test results. EJ asks what it says. Nicole announces that Eric is not a match. EJ excitedly declares that he knew the child was his and calls it a miracle as he kisses Nicole. Eric congratulates them. EJ tells Eric that he’s sure it stings a bit but in the long run, it’s best for everyone involved as they don’t have to go through the awkwardness of Eric and Nicole raising a baby while Nicole is with him and Sloan is spared the pain of Eric raising a child with another woman. EJ feels that everyone is a winner today. Eric guesses that’s it and wishes them the best of luck with everything. Nicole thanks Eric as he then walks away. EJ excitedly hugs Nicole and calls this a gift that changes everything. Eric slowly exits through the elevator.

Sloan tells Jada that she told her she wouldn’t find anything. Sloan suggests if Jada wants to grill somebody, she can go see Leo Stark. Jada asks why she would do that. Sloan reveals that Leo said he ran in to Colin earlier today. Jada questions why she didn’t tell her that when she got there. Sloan responds that it’s not her job to help Jada do her job. Jada argues that Sloan withheld vital information in an ongoing case. Sloan tells Jada to go ahead if she wants to arrest her for being an accessory because she would love nothing more than to sue for false arrest. Jada warns that Sloan is not off the hook yet as she then walks out of the apartment.

Xander tells Chloe that he knows Gwen can be difficult at times, but asks her not to close the door on this opportunity. Xander encourages that Gwen is only bullying her because she didn’t get her way. Xander knows Chloe can overcome this. Chloe acknowledges standing up to bullies since high school. Xander says the only way to beat a bully is to prove they won’t break her. Xander tells Chloe that he’ll be there and needs Chloe to fight. Chloe says maybe she doesn’t want to fight and she’s just tired. Xander encourages that it’s only been one day. Chloe feels it will be this way every day and asks why she should subject herself to that. Xander asks her to do it for him. Xander explains that he and Gwen are locked in a battle of wills, so if Chloe leaves, he’ll be on his own against her. Chloe points out that Xander used to love Gwen. Xander says now Gwen lives to antagonize him, so if Chloe leaves, she will use that as proof that he was wrong and it will be one battle after another. Xander jokes that it will also turn him in to a miserable roommate. Chloe then agrees to stay at the job and give it another try. Xander promises that she won’t regret it. Chloe suggests pouring them some of the champagne now. Xander offers to go out instead and get whatever she wants. Chloe says she’d rather stay in, put her feet up, and watch a movie so she asks if they can just order in. Xander says absolutely not since she is sacrificing herself for his sanity, so she deserves better. Xander declares that he will prepare a feast. Xander then pours champagne to toast to Chloe’s ultimate victory and Gwen’s inevitable defeat.

Gwen can’t believe Leo would pass on such a juicy story. Leo reminds her that he’s the one who switched the emerald on the Alamanian Peacock, preventing Dimitri’s plan to take over the world. Gwen thinks their history makes Leo perfect for the job. Leo feels Dimitri probably wants him dead for foiling his plans and repeats that he doesn’t need another psycho wanting his head on the wall. Gwen decides she’ll have to find somebody else then to cover the greatest and largest story of the year. Gwen brings up a Pulitzer prize and possible book deal coming out of it. Gwen says it has all the elements of a breakaway hit and imagines it could be a 7 figure deal. Gwen says she understands his trepidation and doesn’t want him to put himself in any danger. Leo starts to express interest but still says no, asking what good all that money would be if he’s too dead to spend it, so he tells Gwen to find someone else to cover it. Gwen decides if you want something done, you have to do it yourself. Gwen declares that she will write the article and if something comes of it, she won’t share any of it with him. Gwen jokes with Leo to lock the door because he never knows who might be coming. Gwen then exits and Leo rushes to lock the door.

Kristen questions Megan’s plan to finance their mutual ambitions. Megan explains that if they keep it in the family, they can get the money quickly and save time trying to find Dimitri a suitable partner while not having the risk of it turning out to be a gold digger. Megan declares that opportunity is knocking and they must answer.

Eric goes to Sloan’s apartment and asks if there’s any news on Colin. Sloan says no but he did just miss Jada and her search warrant which was a complete waste of time since she didn’t find anything. Eric asks if she heard about Abe. Sloan confirms she has but says that Colin is desperate though not a monster or stupid enough to put a target on his back like that. Sloan asks how Eric heard about it and if it’s on the news. Eric says no and explains that he was at the hospital when Kayla told him. Sloan asks what he was doing at the hospital. Eric informs her that Nicole got the results back from the DNA test and he’s not there. Eric tells Sloan that she doesn’t have to pretend she’s not happy. Sloan can’t deny that’s what she was hoping to hear, but she knows how much he wanted to be a father and she can see that he’s hurting. Eric decides it’s not the right time and guesses that’s probably for the best.

EJ excitedly tells Nicole that it’s truly happening that they are having a baby together. EJ says he felt all along that it was his baby as they kiss. EJ asks Nicole if they are to share the news or keep it to themselves. Nicole thinks they should wait. EJ asks if she’s worried about her history. Nicole doesn’t want to be negative but also doesn’t want to forget there’s a really good chance that she can’t carry the baby to term. EJ understands that she’s dealt with this disappointment twice before but encourages her not to let the past dictate the future. EJ declares that the first step is getting her the best care possible and there is no time to waste as they walk off together.

Xander cooks egg sandwiches for he and Chloe. Xander encourages her to try it and she admits it’s really good. Xander says it pairs nicely with the champagne. Xander talks about Scottish people inventing things which Chloe jokes with him about. Xander then kisses Chloe.

Megan talks to Dimitri and Kristen about their wedding. Dimitri admits that Megan has thought this all through but says his answer is no. Megan asks Kristen to make the right choice and persuade Dimitri that this is the best choice they have. Kristen says she has to agree with Dimitri as she is preparing for a custody fight and showing up with her nephew on her arm won’t win her brownie points with the judge. Megan calls them pathetic. Dimitri says there are plenty of fish in the sea. Megan feels most of them are not suitable for him to marry. Megan declares that if they are not keeping it in the family, they have to find someone very special for him to marry. Gwen then walks in and says she’s looking for Dimitri.

Leo remains looking at Dimitri’s photo and says maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to get up close and personal with that. Leo wishes Dimitri was homosexual instead of homicidal. There’s then a knock at the door which startles Leo, causing him to worry that it’s the other homicidal maniac but it’s Jada. Leo asks what he can do for her. Jada says she understands that he had a run in with Colin Bedford. Leo confirms that he did and says it was just brief small talk. Leo swears that he doesn’t know anything. Jada thinks he does and demands him tell everything about his encounter from start to finish, unless he’d like to spend the night in a jail cell.

Kayla is on the phone in her office, saying she will put out a statement about Colin’s possible involvement in Abe’s disappearance in about an hour and says to send any press inquiries to the administrator’s office. She hangs up as EJ and Nicole enter. EJ informs Kayla that they are both doing very well after getting the news they were hoping for. Kayla says she’s glad that is the case and asks how she can help. Nicole admits they are concerned about her medical history and if she can carry the baby to term since the scar tissue on her uterus has created issues. Kayla knows she’s had her struggles. EJ wonders if there has been advances in technology or anything that will improve their chances. Kayla says she’s not a fertility doctor but she can give them a referral. EJ says they will remain optimistic. Kayla says she has to go make a statement to the board about the Abe situation but she wants to talk to Nicole and she will get them the number to the specialist. Kayla adds that she is in their corner as she exits. EJ promises Nicole that he will move Heaven and Earth to get them a successful outcome and that she will bring their baby to term. Nicole agrees to pray for that. EJ tells Nicole that he loves her and kisses her.

Sloan tells Eric that she hates seeing him in pain. Eric appreciates her saying that. Eric says he’s happy being here with her and looks forward to their future together. Eric tells Sloan that he loves her. Sloan responds that she loves him as they hug. Sloan then thinks back to the night of the cheek swab, revealing that she told herself she couldn’t risk losing Eric to Nicole if the baby is his, so she used the cheek swab on herself and not Eric which caused the DNA test to not be a match. Sloan then tells Eric that he’s all she ever wanted.

Days of Our Lives Update

Steve returns home from Greece while on the phone with Hope. Steve asks about Bo and the new rehab facility. Steve tells Hope that if she needs anything, to just let him know and he’ll take care of it. Steve tells her not to worry about Megan Hathaway because there’s no way she’s going to find her. Steve says he and Kayla are praying for Bo and are there in spirit. Steve says they’ll talk soon as they hang up. Steve then answers his door to see Harris Michaels has arrived.

Megan joins Kristen in the living room of the DiMera Mansion. Megan pours a drink as Kristen talks about taking the edge off. Stefan and Gabi walk in. Stefan says he’d love a celebratory drink. Megan and Kristen question what this is all about as Gabi shuts the doors and says they’d prefer the servants don’t overhear. Stefan then announces they are plotting the demise of EJ.

Nicole joins EJ in his bedroom. They kiss and say they missed each other. EJ says he just got back awhile ago and he looked all over for her but he couldn’t find her, so he questions where she has been. Nicole reveals that she left the office early to go to the hospital. EJ asks if everything is alright.

At the Brady Pub, Eric informs Marlena that Nicole is pregnant and the baby could be his. Eric adds that Nicole is at the hospital now, getting a paternity test so they are going to find out if he’s the father.

Nicole tells EJ that everything is alright. EJ asks why she was at the hospital. Nicole reveals that she was giving Kayla a blood sample. EJ assumes it’s because of her menopause treatment but Nicole admits that she’s not entering menopause. EJ doesn’t understand how Kayla could make such an error. Nicole reveals that she lied to EJ. Nicole then announces that she missed her period, not because of menopause, but because she’s pregnant.

Steve questions what Harris is doing there. Harris asks if he can come in, which Steve reluctantly allows. Steve tells Harris that he can save the explanation because Shawn already told him that Harris was following them to Salem to keep an eye on Megan, but there are a lot of people already doing that job including he and John, who are private investigators, qualified to keep an eye on people. Steve tells Harris that his help is not needed here and he’d just be one more person that he doesn’t trust to keep an eye on. Steve declares that if Harris really wants to help, he’ll turn around and leave Salem.

Megan questions Stefan proposing the demise of EJ. Stefan clarifies that it’s not literal but more of a consequential fall from grace. Kristen guesses they need their help to oust EJ from DiMera Enterprises. Megan asks what’s in it for them. Gabi responds that they will both play major, noteworthy roles in the company’s future. Gabi says they have ideas to share and hands them each a paper.

Marlena tells Eric that now it all makes sense why Nicole lied about their being a viral outbreak in the hospital as the cheek swabs were not for the virus, but to help determine paternity. Eric agrees that sums it up. Marlena asks how Sloan found out. Eric informs her that Sloan saw Nicole’s pre natal vitamins at the hospital and then Nicole begged Sloan not to tell anyone. Eric adds that Sloan agreed to help Nicole find out the paternity. Marlena questions if Nicole was ever going to tell him the truth. Eric explains that Nicole was hoping to get the results of the paternity test before saying anything to he or EJ. Marlena is surprised to learn that EJ didn’t know Nicole was pregnant either.

EJ is shocked to learn that Nicole is pregnant and says he doesn’t understand why she wouldn’t tell him, but then EJ stops and guesses the baby is not his.

Harris acknowledges that Steve has every reason not to trust him and that’s why he was his first stop in Salem which Steve calls an interesting choice. Harris tells Steve that he respects him but says he’s not going anywhere and thinks he can be a help here. Harris brings up that he’s from Salem and went to high school here, so it’s the closest thing he has to home. Harris adds that they are on the same side but they don’t have to be friends. Harris asks if they can put aside their differences to work together to make sure Megan doesn’t hurt Hope again. Harris offers a handshake to Steve.

Stefan explains that once they vote EJ out, Megan and Kristen will both take on very prominent roles with the company. Kristen calls the details vague as Gabi says they want them to be free to do what they want in the company. Megan worries that the 30 year gap in her resume might make the board think it’s nepotism. Gabi and Stefan call them both miracle workers that have brought people back from the dead. Megan asks if it’s not just because they need their votes. Stefan admits there is that but puts over their determination and ruthlessness. Kristen asks if they just want them to do the dirty work, but Gabi says that’s not what they are saying at all. Stefan encourages them to read the proposal and see what happens. Megan agrees to take it under advisement. Stefan says they will see them later as he and Gabi exit the room. Kristen asks what Megan makes of this. Megan takes the proposal and tosses it in to the fireplace, asking Kristen if she has a match.

EJ asks Nicole if her baby is his. Nicole admits that she does not know. EJ says that’s because it might be Eric’s. EJ goes over how Nicole didn’t tell him about sleeping with Eric, then apologized and swore she would never lie to him again, only to go to great lengths to not tell him that she’s pregnant. Nicole apologizes and says she would’ve told him sooner, but she couldn’t get a paternity test until she was 7 weeks along and she didn’t want him to hear the news like this. EJ questions why he is hearing it now then. Nicole reveals it’s because Eric found out.

Eric tells Marlena that Sloan is hoping the baby isn’t his since they are in a relationship. Marlena asks how Eric feels about all of this. Eric calls it so sudden, that he hasn’t had time to process it. Eric adds that they don’t even know if the baby is his, if Nicole can carry the baby to term, or how EJ will react to finding out if he’s not the father. Eric calls the situation complicated. Marlena states that they know how EJ would react, but points out that Eric didn’t answer her question. Marlena asks Eric again how he feels about the idea of Nicole carrying his child. Eric admits that part of him is hoping the baby is his.

Before Steve can answer Harris, Kayla comes home. Kayla greets him and notes that he didn’t tell her that he was coming home as he hugs her. Steve says he wanted to surprise her. Steve informs Kayla that Harris was just telling him that he is moving back to Salem and wants to help keep an eye on Megan Hathaway, but he told him that they have enough cops, detectives, and spies in the family. Kayla responds that she thinks they could use all the help they could get.

Eric tells Marlena that it feels wrong saying he wants the baby to be his. Marlena feels there’s no right or wrong as this is about his feelings and he has to respect those, especially after what happened with Jada. Eric feels he shouldn’t be thinking it and says the last thing Sloan needs to hear after everything with her brother is that he’s having a baby with another woman. Marlena points out that it’s not just another woman, but a woman that he still has some feelings for.

EJ can’t believe he didn’t realize what was going on sooner. EJ says that’s why Nicole didn’t drink champagne, why she said his proposal didn’t feel like the right timing, and why she couldn’t say she loved him. Nicole cries that she felt guilty for not telling him the truth while EJ argues that she might be carrying another man’s baby. EJ states that Nicole wants to keep her options open because she wouldn’t want to be with him if Eric is the father, asking if she would want Eric back.

Stefan massages Gabi’s feet in their bedroom. Stefan talks about how they have to come up with something for Megan and Kristen to do that keeps them feeling useful but also keeps them out of their way. Gabi feels that Megan is lukewarm about the proposal and will be tough to crack. Gabi says that Kristen is too focused on getting her family back together while Megan is too obsessed with someone that’s in a coma to run things. Stefan talks about how the board would question Megan just walking in to run things while encouraging that Gabi will be the best CEO. Stefan declares that they have the backing of management so there is no way in hell that Megan will be running anything. Gabi worries about Megan having an ego and wanting world domination.

Megan asks Kristen if she really thinks they are going to put their leverage behind measly jobs at Gabi Chic which she calls a waste of considerable talent. Kristen agrees that they should be running DiMera, not their baby brothers and certainly not Gabi. Megan states that her ambitions extend far beyond running DiMera. Megan declares that she deserves so much more. Kristen asks her to be more specific. Megan states that Stefan was a grand puppet master and the whole world feared him. Megan says all of his other offspring have had their shot at emulating him, so now it’s her turn. Kristen questions Megan wanting to be her father’s daughter. Megan responds that she is her father’s daughter. Megan declares that just like the Phoenix, Megan DiMera is rising again.

Stefan tells Gabi that Megan doesn’t hold a candle to her as they kiss. They talk about how they can’t wait to get married and how lucky they are. Stefan encourages that they can have it all as Salem’s power couple. Stefan declares they are unstoppable as a team as they continue kissing in bed.

Kristen asks if Megan is aspiring to take over the world. Megan feels she’s not being delusional as she is dead serious. Megan says she will start with Salem. Kristen calls that a very expensive undertaking and she doesn’t hold the purse strings to DiMera like Stefano did. Megan responds that she won’t be needing DiMera money because she has another plan.

Kayla tells Steve about Abe missing and the psychopath that attacked him has escaped police custody and is out there somewhere, impersonating a cop. Steve asks if Colin took Abe. Kayla says that’s the theory as they have nothing else to go on. Steve asks what he can do to help. Kayla thinks they need more man power as Jada is being pulled in all different directions because her sister was arrested for being in cahoots with Colin. Kayla says that Abe is relatively stable, but he had a serious head injury so she worries he won’t get the care he needs. Steve encourages Kayla to eat but Kayla says she just came to pick up a few things as she needs to get back to the hospital to brief the board. Kayla gets a text that the test results that she’s been waiting on are in. Steve asks if she’s okay. Kayla responds that she will be now that he’s back and kisses him.

Eric tells Marlena that he told Sloan that he loves her. Marlena feels he wouldn’t say it if he didn’t mean it. Eric assures that he did mean it in the moment. Marlena suggests maybe he didn’t mean an undying kind of love. Marlena talks about knowing how much Eric wants a family and encourages that he’ll be a spectacular father. Marlena asks if Eric wants to raise the baby with Nicole, while she’s still with EJ, or if he’s thinking the two of them could reunite and raise the baby together.

Nicole tells EJ that this is not about her wanting to go back to Eric or keeping her options open. EJ questions what it is about then. Nicole responds that she was desperately hoping to tell him that they were having a baby together, so he wouldn’t have to deal with the uncertainty and anxiety that has consumed her for the last few weeks, especially since there’s a good chance she won’t be able to carry the pregnancy to term. EJ asks if she’s spoken to a doctor yet and encourages that there have been medical advances since she was last pregnant. Nicole says she hasn’t made an appointment with a specialist because she’s been taking everything one step at a time. EJ asks how Eric found out. Nicole explains that Sloan told him as she found out by accident. EJ then questions who else knew before he did. Nicole admits that she confided in Anna, who accidentally told Tony. EJ complains that he feels like such a fool. Nicole argues that it was only going to be one more day because she had the test run and they will find out soon. EJ asks how that’s possible without a sample from he and Eric. Nicole informs him that they only needed one of them and admits that she was going to swab his cheek while he was sleeping but he went out of town, so Sloan got one from Eric. Nicole then gets a call from Kayla, who informs her that she has her test results.

Stefan and Gabi lay in bed together. Gabi says she wants to be in bed with him all day on their honeymoon. Stefan asks how long it will take to plan the wedding of her dreams because he’s already waited four years. Gabi asks if he thinks they could afford to get away from DiMera right now. Stefan admits that taking over DiMera is important to him, but marrying her is everything and most important. Gabi points out that they don’t even have the divorce decree yet. Stefan encourages that could happen any day now, but questions why he feels like Gabi is looking for reasons to put off the wedding.

Kristen asks Megan what her get rich quick scheme is. Megan responds that she will find out soon enough. Kristen asks if she doesn’t trust her. Megan says that Kristen will have all the details when the time is right, but she wants to make sure everything is in place first for when Bo regains consciousness. Megan states that Stefano called Marlena his queen of the night and now Bo will be her’s. Kristen stops her and questions what her role is in all of this. Megan assures that it will be a vital one. Megan argues that they both know that Kristen won’t have the time to dedicate to this project like she does due to having a young child, but insists that she very much needs her as she is paramount to all of this. Kristen declares that she will not be sidelined and she’s going to want something from Megan in return.

Nicole asks Kayla if they can meet now. Kayla says she will see her at the hospital. EJ questions not giving the results over the phone. Nicole asks EJ to come with her to hear the results when she does. Nicole says she’s been agonizing over this for weeks and now that EJ finally knows, she hoped they could go through it together no matter what. EJ knows he’s been harsh with her over this but assures that nothing would make him happier than having a child with her. Nicole thanks him and says that means so much to her. EJ asks if they should go, but Nicole says there’s one thing she has to do first.

Eric asks Marlena what the point is of all these hypothetical questions since it won’t mean anything if he’s not the baby’s father. Marlena disagrees and thinks he needs to be honest about his feelings, regardless of the test. Marlena adds that if Eric still harbors idea of he and Nicole getting back together, he needs to look at that. Eric then gets a text from Nicole, asking him to meet her at the hospital. Eric guesses this is the moment of truth.

Gabi assures Stefan that she wants to marry him as soon as possible, but guesses she’s a little gun shy after her last marriage turned in to a farce. Stefan promises this time will be perfect and that he’s grateful every day for this second chance. Gabi brings up that their first wedding was on July 31 so if they do that again, they’ll only have one anniversary to remember. Stefan points out that’s only 8 weeks away and asks if she’s sure that will be enough time. Gabi declares that she will make it an event to remember and for all the right reasons this time.

Megan asks Kristen what her one condition is. Kristen brings up Brady having full custody of Rachel and keeping her away from her at all costs. Kristen says she’s asked several lawyers to revisit the case but they all refused and she’s tired of hearing no. Kristen wants Megan’s nefarious plans to include her getting full custody of Rachel for good this time. Megan calls that pedestrian and asks if she considered kidnapping. Kristen brings up that Megan has moved heaven and earth to be with her son. Megan admits she’s concerned about Dimitri since he was meant to come straight back to Salem after their immunity deal, but she hasn’t heard from him. Megan notes that if Dimitri doesn’t want to be found, he won’t be, and she knows that the Alamain family are desperate to get him back in custody. Dimitri then walks in and announces that her son is right here.

Steve tells Harris that it’s like all the villains decided to cause trouble at the same time. Steve adds that he doesn’t have any more time for Harris as he has to get a hold of John, so they can get out there and find Abe. Harris says he’d really like to help if he can. Steve thanks him but says they are good. Harris asks if he’s sure, questioning who can keep an eye on Megan 24/7 while they are out looking for Abe. Steve assures that they’ve got this so Harris says he hears the message and agrees to go. Harris tells Steve that if he changes his mind, his offer still stands, as he then exits.

Nicole and EJ are at the hospital. Nicole questions if EJ is alright as he paces. EJ complains about not understanding why Nicole felt the need to summon Eric. Nicole explains that she promised to tell him when the results came in and she wants to do this one time to have it over with. Eric then arrives at the hospital. Nicole informs him that Kayla will be meeting them soon. EJ comments on Eric only having sex with Nicole one time recently while he and Nicole are living together and enjoying each other. Nicole yells at EJ to stop and says this is not some sick competition. Nicole complains that it’s about a child’s life, so she needs them to be kind to each other and to her. Nicole cries that it breaks her heart that something she’s been longing for so long could end painfully, so she needs them to help her through this regardless of the results and who the father is. Nicole asks if they can do that for her.

Days of Our Lives Update

Chanel brings Paulina to Abe’s room and tells her not to worry as she’s sure when Abe sees her, it will all come back. They then discover that Abe is gone so Paulina questions where the hell her husband is. Paulina begins to panic while Chanel encourages her that he must have just been taken for tests and she goes to check.

The nurse pretending to be Paulina wheels Abe through the hospital and tells him not to worry because she’s going to get him out of here now as they wait on the elevator. She claims to Abe that she is Paulina and promises to get him out of the hospital and far away from anyone who wants to hurt him.

Sloan goes to Colin’s hospital room and finds the cop handcuffed to the bed. She questions who the hell he is and where her brother is. He informs her that the suspect got away which shocks Sloan.

Colin escapes the hospital dressed as a cop. He walks through the park where Leo rushes up and says he needs the officer’s help.

Marlena finds Kayla at the Brady Pub. Kayla says she was checking on Roman and Kate. Marlena mentions that she was going to do the same thing. Kayla informs her that Will called Kate so they are on a video chat. Kayla and Marlena decide to have coffee. Marlena asks Kayla about the viral outbreak at the hospital but Kayla doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Marlena explains that Eric called her about seeing Abe and wanted to know about the viral outbreak on the 10th floor. Kayla says she would be the first to know, so where ever Eric got his information, they were misinformed. Marlena informs Kayla that it came from Nicole, so either she is misinformed or she lied about it and she can’t think of why Nicole would do that.

Nicole prepares to leave the DiMera Mansion and opens the door right as Eric arrives. Nicole questions what he’s doing there. Eric says they need to talk but Nicole says it’s not a good time as she was on her way out. Eric reveals that he knows she was going to meet Sloan and that he knows she’s pregnant. Eric and Nicole head in to the living room. Nicole questions what he’s talking about and why he would say she’s pregnant. Eric asks her to stop lying to his face and explains that he confronted Sloan until she told him what the swab was for. Nicole complains that she knew Sloan couldn’t keep the secret.

Sloan argues with the cop that he had one simple job and screwed it up. Rafe enters, so Sloan asks if they found Colin but Rafe says not yet. Rafe sends the cop to go get dressed so they can go try and find the prisoner that he let get away. Sloan questions Rafe as to how he could let this happen. Sloan remarks that she knew the Salem PD was inept. Rafe argues that her psycho brother turned the gun on one of his officers and that Sloan could’ve stopped this a long time ago. Rafe asks if Colin has contacted Sloan. She says no but Rafe points out that she said that last time when she was lying to protect him. Rafe warns that Colin is out there alone and desperate with every cop in Salem hunting him down, so he is going to need some help and there’s only two people that he would contact. Rafe says one of them is being arraigned for her part and the other is Sloan. Sloan insists that Colin won’t contact her because he knows she would turn him in immediately. Sloan declares that the last thing she wants is her brother running around Salem loose.

Colin asks Leo what the problem is. Leo says that someone stole his phone. Colin says he doesn’t have time for this. Leo argues that his phone is his life and he has his contacts, his anonymous sources, and photos. Colin says he’s kind of in a rush and tries to leave but Leo stops him and says he just realized who he is and calls him a very naughty boy. Colin flashes back to knocking out Abe at the Bakery.

Abe asks the nurse where they are going. She responds that the man who attacked him is nearby, so they have to get him out of here. She then wheels Abe onto the elevator. Chanel comes around the corner, wondering where the hell Abe is.

Paulina remains in Abe’s hospital room, telling herself not to cry because Abe needs her to be strong. Chanel comes back and informs Paulina that Abe was not scheduled for any tests, so he should be here. Paulina complains that obviously he’s not and wonders where he is.

Marlena tells Kayla that a viral outbreak is a strange thing to lie about, explaining that Eric ran in to Nicole at the hospital while she had a rapid test kit. Kayla recalls telling Nicole that she would need a cheek swab for her paternity test. Kayla assures Marlena that she would be the first to know about a viral outbreak. Marlena wonders why Nicole would make up such a crazy story.

Eric tells Nicole that in Sloan’s defense, he found out about her bogus story from Marlena when he called her to ask if he needed a test to visit Abe because of the viral outbreak but she had no idea what he was talking about, so he confronted Sloan. Nicole bets Sloan couldn’t wait to spill the beans. Eric says he had to pull it out of her and she said that Nicole begged her not to tell him. Nicole complains that Sloan never should’ve known and it was a total fluke that she found out. Eric talks about Nicole making up stories for weeks and realizes what test he heard her talking to Kayla on the phone about when she told him that she was in early menopause. Nicole says she thought she was, so she took a blood test and found out she was pregnant which was shocking and overwhelming. Eric questions why she didn’t just tell him when he promised she could trust him, but she lied right to his face. Nicole says if it makes him feel any better, she lied to EJ too and he doesn’t know that she’s pregnant or that she doesn’t know which one of them is the father.

Colin tells Leo that they don’t know each other so he may have mixed up with someone else. Leo assures that he never forgets a face and he knows exactly who he is.

Rafe calls for the entire hospital staff to work with his officers to have the hospital on lockdown and to be advised that Colin stole an officer’s uniform and is armed and dangerous. Sloan warns about one of the cops getting trigger happy with her brother. Rafe tells Sloan not to threaten him because Colin could’ve cooperated but instead, chose to do this and made things much worse. Paulina and Chanel come over. Paulina says they need to talk to Rafe. Rafe says it will have to wait but Paulina refuses and informs him that Abe is missing.

The nurse brings Abe to her home.

Kayla suggests Marlena talk to Nicole. Marlena wonders if it has anything to do with Nicole’s secret as she was in the nurses station the other day and Nicole was talking to Sloan of all people. Marlena adds that when Sloan walked away, Nicole said she couldn’t stand her but she overheard Sloan say she would keep Nicole’s secret.

Nicole complains that she should’ve known Sloan would tell Eric or that the secret would come out another way because that’s what secrets do and no one knows that better than her. Nicole thought if she could control it, she could minimize the damage because she doesn’t want to hurt anyone. Eric says he’s sorry if he upset her. Nicole questions why he’s apologizing and says he has every right to be angry, so he doesn’t need to be nice to her. Nicole cries that she’s not upset about what he said, but because once again her life is a giant hot mess. Eric gives her a water while Nicole repeats that he does not need to be nice to her. Nicole states that they slept together once while drugged out of their minds and they agreed that it was a mistake. Nicole asks why she would tell him that she’s pregnant. Eric says he might be the father but Nicole says he might not be, so she didn’t see the point in telling him or EJ until she was sure and she doesn’t need them hovering over her or trying to kill each other. Nicole cries that she knows how much Eric wants to be a father and that having a child of his own has been a dream of his. Nicole brings up how devastated Eric was with Sarah and Jada, so she didn’t want to put him through that again or get his hopes up only to find out he’s not the father. Nicole says she does not want to break his heart but the truth is, she still might. Eric asks what she means. Nicole points out that the chances of her carrying the baby to term are practically zero, so if Eric is the father and she miscarries again, she will be making him experience the agony of yet another loss. Eric argues that a miscarriage would not be her fault and he would never blame her for it. Eric encourages that there have been medical advances to help her eliminate the risk and that Kayla could recommend a fertility doctor to help map out whatever she needs to do. Nicole says she just can’t think about planning the pregnancy until she knows who got her pregnant. Nicole cries that she’s sorry she’s such a wreck. Eric tells her not to apologize and that they are friends. Eric then asks her what is next. Nicole responds that she needed to be 7 weeks along to have the paternity test which she is today, but she couldn’t get a swab from EJ. Eric points out that she has his. Nicole says if she can use it, Kayla will take her blood and compare his DNA to the baby’s, so they will know if it’s EJ’s or his.

Abe questions this being where they live which the nurse allows him to believe. Abe looks around and sees the room is surrounded by stuffed animal cats as well as pictures and statues of cats as he questions what’s with all the cats. The nurse questions him not remembering and says that she’s allergic to cats so she’s a crazy stuffed cat lady. Abe says that definitely does not ring a bell. She introduces Abe to the stuffed cats which she names Tasha, Masha, and Sasha and another that she claims Abe named as Cheesecake but Abe does not remember. She has Abe hold the stuffed animal but it causes Abe to sneeze. Abe blames the dust while the nurse claims she has been by Abe’s side since he was attacked so she didn’t have time to come home and clean. She mentions a house keeper named Whitley, so Abe questions who that is.

Paulina doesn’t care what else Rafe has going on and says he needs to find her husband. Rafe asks her to calm down and says if Abe is not in his room, they probably pulled him out for tests. Chanel informs him that she already talked to the nurses and they said he’s not scheduled for any tests. Paulina complains that Abe is missing and declares she’s going to look for him, so Rafe better do the same. Paulina tells Sloan to get out of her way, but Sloan says she needs to talk with Rafe about her brother. Rafe informs Paulina that there’s something he needs to tell her about Colin. Paulina says she was there when Rafe sent the cop to his room, so she assumes they have him locked up in a cage now but Rafe reveals they don’t which Paulina questions. Rafe explains that they had him in custody, but then he escaped.

Leo tells Colin that he definitely recognizes him and why he doesn’t want him to. Leo believes that Colin is an adult entertainer, but he says he has no idea what he’s talking about. Leo claims he saw him at his friend’s bachelorette party a few weeks ago and he thought it was a cop costume, but now sees it’s real. Colin insists that it wasn’t him. Leo says maybe not but he definitely knows him from somewhere. Leo then asks if he was in the gym at the Salem Inn, working out without a towel, but Colin says he’s wrong again. Leo decides maybe he does forget a face. Colin says they are done here but Leo stops him. Colin warns him to get his hands off of him. Leo questions Colin’s accent, but then realizes who he is.

The nurse tells Abe about Whitley, who they have come clean once a month. Abe says he doesn’t remember her either. The nurse says he’s just been through so much and says that she will get him in bed so he can rest, but Abe says he doesn’t want to rest as he has to figure out what’s happening. She tells him that she is his wife and a nurse, so he should listen to her when she tells him to rest. Abe suggests calling Chanel first which she questions.

Paulina questions Rafe letting Colin get away. Rafe says they are checking security cameras and they are going to find him. Chanel asks about Abe. Paulina argues that it can’t be a coincidence that Abe and Colin both went missing from the same place at the same time and questions if that evil man took her husband. Rafe admits that is possible. Paulina warns Sloan about having anything to do with this. Sloan swears that she didn’t and she just wants to help the police find her brother. Paulina says they don’t need her help. Rafe points out that if Colin does have Abe, they can’t be far. Paulina declares that Colin is a homicidal maniac and anyone who is with him is in terrible danger.

Leo realizes Colin is Sloan’s brother and says he’s late for an appointment so he tries to run but Colin stops him and questions if he’s going to tell the police that he ran in to him. Leo says he wouldn’t say a word. Leo mentions being a reporter but never paying attention to the real news. Leo talks about Gwen talking about him. Leo calls Colin a fascinating man and says now he has a chance to tell his side of the story. Leo encourages that Colin can give him an exclusive interview and say all the things he’s wanted to say for years about Chanel and Paulina. Leo promises people will listen and asks what he says.

Eric starts talking about if the baby is his but Nicole says she doesn’t want to talk about it. Nicole states that she is with EJ now, Eric is with Sloan, and they have moved on, so there is no reason to talk about this until they know that there is anything to talk about. Eric asks her to tell him as soon as she gets the results which she agrees to do. Nicole thanks him for the cheek swab. Eric then exits the mansion as Nicole holds back tears.

Marlena guesses she shouldn’t fret about it since regardless how she feels about Sloan, Eric wants to see where the relationship goes and she is going to support him. Kayla gets a call from Nicole, who informs her that she has the sample needed for the paternity test. Kayla says she will meet her at the hospital and will see her soon as they hang up.

The nurse questions Abe saying Chanel. Abe says he’s the one with memory problems and says he’s talking about her daughter. The nurse questions why he wants to talk to her now. Abe says that Chanel was with her when he woke up and he didn’t recognize them, which he knows upset her, so he’d like to reassure her since they left the hospital before he had the chance. The nurse claims she will call Chanel now. She pretends to call Chanel.

Rafe and Chanel lay Paulina in a hospital bed and encourage her to breathe. Paulina questions how she can just lie in a bed while her husband could be in the clutches of a mad man. Paulina asks why she’s in this bed anyway. Chanel explains that her blood pressure and heart rate were up, so they wanted to admit her to make sure she is okay. Rafe reminds Paulina that they don’t even know for sure that Colin has Abe and that Abe is tough and will fight. Paulina questions how Abe is supposed to fight when he just had brain surgery. Chanel assures that Abe loves her so much and that will make him strong enough to do whatever it takes to get back to her. Paulina hopes she’s right but warns that this is the second head injury Abe has had in the past year, so she’s not even sure he knows who he is. Rafe asks why she would say that. Chanel explains that when Abe woke up, he didn’t recognize her or Paulina, where he was, and didn’t even remember that he had been attacked. Paulina worries that it’s possible that Abe doesn’t even know he’s in danger…

The nurse pretends to be telling Chanel on the phone that Abe is home with her and everything is fine. She then tells Abe that Chanel is not angry and is glad that she called. She says they were all just worried that Colin was going to hurt him again.

Leo tells Colin that he will just grab his notebook to write everything down. Leo reaches in to his bag and then finds his phone, realizing it wasn’t stolen after all. Leo then begins recording his interview with Colin by asking how he responds to allegations that he’s an unhinged psychopath. Colin then grabs Leo’s phone, slams it down, and steps on it. Colin says he can confirm that and pushes past Leo as he walks away.

Eric walks past the Brady Pub and gets a call from Sloan. Eric says he was about to call her as he just got an alert that Colin broke out of the hospital. Sloan says she just came from there. Eric asks what happened. Sloan explains that he overpowered the cop assigned to his transfer and now he’s gone. Eric guesses he couldn’t have gone far. Sloan says she doesn’t know but she hopes they catch him before anyone else gets hurt. Sloan then asks what Eric did with the cheek swab. Eric informs her that he gave it to Nicole and she’s bringing to Kayla, then they will all know.

Nicole arrives at the hospital and thanks Kayla for meeting her. Kayla knows how anxious she is for answers. Nicole gives Kayla the cheek swab and says she never thought she’d be in this position at this stage of her life, pregnant and not knowing who the father is. Nicole asks if this will take awhile. Kayla says it shouldn’t as she should take her blood, compare it with the DNA sample and get back to her as soon as possible. Nicole declares the waiting will finally be over as they walk off together.

Sloan walks past Leo, who asks her for a comment on her brother’s escape. Sloan asks if he got the news alert on his phone. Leo explains that he got it in his face as Colin was just there, dressed like a cop. Sloan questions where he went. Leo asks how he should know and says he’s just glad he’s gone because Colin is seriously scary and he was lucky to escape with his life. As Sloan walks away, Leo shouts for her to tell her brother that he owes him a phone.

Kayla finds Rafe at the hospital and questions him about the hospital being on lockdown. Rafe explains that Colin escaped and Abe has gone missing. Kayla asks if he thinks Colin kidnapped Abe. Rafe says they don’t know for sure, but it’s possible. Kayla worries about Abe being so vulnerable and asks how she can help. Rafe says to just be ready when they find him.

Paulina encourages having positive thoughts. Chanel assures that she’s there for her and Abe will be there too, very soon.

The nurse continues showing Abe the stuffed animal cats as he’s left confused.

Paulina tells Chanel that she always makes things better and encourages her to be strong, brave, and optimistic that Abe is okay.

Abe tells the nurse that he wishes he could say any of this looks familiar, but it doesn’t. She encourages that everything will come back in time but until then, she will take good care of him.

Eric enters the Brady Pub and greets Marlena, who says she just checked on Roman and Kate who are making up for lost time. Eric asks if she has a minute to talk as he has some news that might be big. Eric reveals to Marlena that he just found out Nicole is pregnant and it could be his.

Nicole joins EJ in his bedroom. They kiss and say they missed each other. EJ says he just got back awhile ago and he looked all over for her but he couldn’t find her, so he questions where she has been.
