Alex, I was just coming up with a story for you. Well, for Arrow, whom I now think of as you. But then thanks to me, Arrow’s far more interesting.

But Arrow, let’s say, is just a little more dramatic. He’s more dynamic.

[Stephanie laughs] I mean, Regan is coming on to be an obstacle between Arrow and Faith, right?

Right, and they’re supposed to be the super couple.

Right, which means that you’ll– you’ll likely get some blowback for being the spoiler in their relationship.

[clears throat] Well, I guess that would mean that I’m doing my job, right? I mean, the viewers are supposed to be rooting against me.

Yeah, that’s a really good way of looking at it. And hey, if anything gets uncomfortable, just let me know, OK?

Thank you, but I have pretty thick skin, so.

Good, good. And hey, soap fans are the best. They are loyal and passionate. They really get invested in the characters’ lives. But, uh, all you have to do is remind yourself that none of this is real. I mean, it’s not like you’re actually breaking up a relationship, right?

What happened? You two were pretty hot and heavy.

Well, that’s the problem, Leo. Kate found out about that and she threatened to fire us if we continued to be hot and heavy. Obviously, it’s not a good look for the show’s publicist to be sleeping with one of the actors.

I get that. I guess that goes for the writers, too.

[suspenseful jazz music] I’m kidding! I would never sleep with a cast member. Or anyone else I worked with. I’ve learned that lesson.

Yeah, I’m sure.

I’m serious. I have. I need to find a nice guy who’s not in the business. He has to be gay, of course. You know anybody like that?

Actually, it was at the hospital.

The hospital?

Yeah, I had arrested someone and, uh, they got knocked out.

You knocked her out?

Well, the suspect grabbed for Jada’s gun and it went off and I was on the phone with her at the time and the line went dead.

You thought she was shot. How awful.

Yeah. Yeah, but as you can see– you can see she is OK. She is OK. And it made me realize that I am the luckiest man in the world and I never want to spend a day…

[smooches] Without you.

And after everything that went wrong with Sonny and Darius and Craig, I thought my luck had changed. I really thought I found Mr. Right with Dimitri.

He ripped my heart right out of my chest and stomped all over it.

Ah. I know the feeling, man. It sucks.

[scoffs] Yeah, OK.

Except that’s not what I want anymore. You know, I had my fair share of fun. A lot of it. Trust me. Anyway, you know, you find something special, and you realize that’s all that matters. Your priorities start to change and all of a sudden, it all gets snatched away from you right when everything’s starting to feel right.

Right. I forgot about your five-minute marriage to Theresa. She really messed you up, huh?

[Jada sighs] Oh, man, next thing you knew, I was down on one knee in the nurses station.

[Javi chuckles]

Yeah, and we were surrounded by everyone in the hospital.

Oh, really? You drew a crowd?

Yeah.

And when I said yes, they all, like, broke out in applause.

Oh, that must have been a moment.

It was pretty great. Yeah.

Well, what are we waiting around here for? Let’s go celebrate.

You know, that sounds like so much fun. So I think I am going to take a quick shower and change.

Yeah, no problem. Gabi and I will get a head start on the drinks while you guys get ready.

[Joy clears throat] The producers almost fired them both.

I am serious here, Joy. You’ve got a big opportunity. I don’t want you to blow it. So that means you will not sleep with the cast or the crew or anyone on the set. Is that understood?

[Joy scoffs]

[soft upbeat music]

Look, Chanel, I– I did a stupid thing. OK? I–I don’t know why… I even let myself believe that you would cheat on me. But my jealousy, it just– it got the better of me as you know all too well. And I wasn’t thinking straight, OK? But I do know– I know that it’s going to take work for us to get past this.

[both chuckle]

No, um, actually, I’m a writer.

Really?

You know, I’ve always thought that was a sexy profession.

Yeah. You know, men in smoky, dark corners, sharing their innermost thoughts with the world. Smart, creative guys are my weakness.

Well, it’s not exactly like that. But mostly.

I just thought you didn’t want to be with me anymore. I mean, you did say it was a mistake every time we slept together.

Well, I think it’s so wonderful that you’re all going to be working together. I mean, since Joy is so new at this, it’s great to be among friends. Right, Joy?

Right. They’ve all been very welcoming.

Oh, and Johnny, I know that since Joy is so new at this and that you’re the director, um, I was hoping that you might be able to show her a little special attention.

Mother, I’m sure they want to be alone. Don’t need us crashing their date night.

Oh, no, no, it’s not really a date night. We’re having breakfast for dinner. We pretty much order every dairy, meat, and bread product on the menu.

Wait, Vivian’s the perp?

Yeah, she waltzed right back into Salem and made my job a whole lot easier.

How are you holding up?

Well, I’m alive.

And thank God for that. Chad, I can’t imagine what you’re going through. Is there anything that you or the kids need?

No, nothing. Yeah, just taking time to process everything.

I’m just grateful that I never let Thomas or Charlotte think that their mother was alive. I mean, to get her back, just to lose her all over again.

[clears throat] It would have been devastating.

Like it was for you, I’m sure.

Yeah. Well, thank God I never told them.

This woman, Cat Greene, who posed as Abigail, she had us all fooled, Chad.

Yeah, but… I mean, you know, it was more than that, EJ. I mean, I married the woman. And I was going to spend the rest of my life with her because I– I so desperately wanted to believe it. And the whole time, her and her brother just wanted to kill me and take my money.

You can rest assured that I’m going to use every resource at my disposal as District Attorney to make sure those two pay for what they did to you.

It’s so creepy, man. And Chad thinks that I had something to do with it. He’s clearly just desperate to get his wife’s body back.
