Update written by Joseph

Ava calls Harris and apologizes for missing dinner last night as she knows she told him that she had the night off, but Gil called her in at the last minute to go over the books. Harris knows it’s hard to make plans when running a restaurant. Ava says she has a little free time today, so she thought maybe they could sneak away to grab a drink before dinner. Harris thinks he can make that work and says he’ll pick her up at her apartment at 5 which Ava says is perfect. Harris says he’ll see her later and they hang up. Gil then shows up at Ava’s door.

At the Kiriakis Mansion, Xander reminds Sarah that they are due in court soon. Sarah admits she totally forgot and asks how she can leave her daughter now or think about any of that stuff. Sarah declares that they have to postpone again as there is no other way. Xander asks what if he just drops the case? Sarah asks what he means and if he’s being serious. Xander points out that her daughter was taken from her today and it was unbearable, so the last thing he wants is to take her away from her again.

Maggie tells Konstantin that the way he has watched over them, he’s been like an angel sent from Heaven. Konstantin then grabs Maggie and kisses her. Maggie pushes him off and questions what on earth he is doing.

Theresa calls Konstantin and it goes straight to voicemail. She leaves a message, saying she’s calling to make sure that he took Victoria safely back to Sarah and that if the whole thing blows up, he damn well better keep her name out of it as no one can ever find out what she did, right as Brady appears in the doorway and questions what she did now.

Sarah asks if Xander is really willing to drop the custody case. Xander knows he said he was willing to go to war and he meant it at the time, but their daughter was kidnapped and he thought he might never see her again which put things in to perspective for him. Xander doesn’t want to go through that again or put Sarah through that. Sarah admits that’s the last thing she thought he would say, especially since she accused him of taking Victoria and that she was taken on her watch. Sarah thought he would use that against her. Xander says he wouldn’t do that and he hopes that she knows what happened wasn’t her fault. Xander declares that whoever took their daughter is to blame.

Konstantin apologizes to Maggie and says he shouldn’t have done that as he asks if they can forget this ever happened.

Theresa questions Brady listening in on people’s private conversations. Brady points out that the office is a pretty public place to have a private conversation. Theresa remarks that a gentleman would have the decency to make his presence known. Brady argues that she hasn’t changed. Brady says he was trying to convince Alex not to hire her because he was sure she would do something to undermine the company but then he thought maybe he was overreacting, and then he overhears her saying something is going to blow up in her face. Brady asks Theresa what’s going on and what she did. Theresa then tells Brady that she slept with Alex.

Gil tells Ava that he has a rather delicate matter to discuss that he thought was best not to discuss at the restaurant. Ava asks what he wants. Gil says he wants a key to the Salem PD evidence room. Ava questions why. Gil responds that apparently, one of their lower level dealers got arrested last night and he knows not to flip, but if the cops poke around, it could broaden the investigation so the evidence needs to disappear. Ava questions why he’s coming to her with this and how she’s supposed to get it. Gil tells her from her detective boyfriend.

Rafe meets Harris at the Brady Pub. Harris assumes he’s been busy with the kidnapping and asks if there’s any leads on who took Sarah Horton’s baby. Rafe says there’s nothing yet and he was actually going to put Harris and Jada on it but Jada is at Leo’s arraignment this morning. Harris wishes Jada told him that she was going after them alone because he hates that Leo and Dimitri got the drop on her. Rafe feels the same but notes that Jada is tough and he tried to get her to take off work. Harris asks if there’s anything he can do in the meantime. Rafe says the reason he asked him to lunch is because he wants Harris to find out who murdered Li Shin. Rafe explains that EJ had Gabi charged for murder, but he doesn’t believe for a second that she stabbed Li. Harris responds that Rafe knows Gabi better than he does, so he believes him, but notes that it will be tricky since Gabi’s prints are on the murder weapon and Li named her as his killer right before he died. Rafe says he knows all that but Harris was there at the scene and saw how much blood was there. Rafe notes that Li was barely conscious so asks if he even knew what he was saying. Rafe adds that the person who stabbed Li could have been wearing gloves which leaves lots of room and he feels there’s no reason they can’t continue the investigation on the DL. Paulina then comes over and says that there is.

Ava questions if Gil is crazy for wanting her to steal Harris’ key to the evidence room and asks if he won’t notice it’s missing. Gil says that’s not his problem and suggests Ava just convince Harris that he lost it. Gil questions Ava looking so damn skeptical. Ava responds that she’s done everything he’s asked so far but he can’t involve Harris and doesn’t think this is a good idea, pointing out that Harris is a detective so he could figure out she took it which leads to all sorts of questions. Ava adds that if Harris figures out what is going on here, it could ruin the whole operation. Gil admits she makes a good point but warns that he’s still going to have to go back to Clyde and tell him that she refused to do what he asked.

Xander tells Sarah that he will call Sloan and tell her that he’s dropping the suit with no need for Eric to testify. Sarah questions if he’s really serious about this. Xander assures that he is and admits he never believed that she was an unfit mother and he was just angry that she lied to him about the baby, but he understands why she did it. Xander acknowledges that he’s done terrible things and made bad decisions, but he knows now he can’t fix a bad decision with another, especially when he never really wanted to sue her for custody. Sarah asks what he really wants then. Xander says he wants the two of them to raise Victoria together. Sarah says she wants that too.

Konstantin apologizes to Maggie again and says he doesn’t know what came over him. Maggie calls it just an error of judgment and says it’s already forgotten. Konstantin calls her very kind but says he’s not sure he deserves it since he’s taking advantage of her grief. Maggie calls him a good man but Konstantin says he’s disgusting and that he disgraced Victor. Konstantin declares there’s only one way he can make this right and that is by leaving to go back to Greece.

Brady questions Theresa sleeping with Alex. Theresa reveals it happened in Greece, reminding him of the night that she wanted to stay in Brady’s room but he went off on her. Theresa informs him that after Brady left, Alex tried to make her feel better and he did as they slept together. Brady can’t say he’s surprised. Theresa says she didn’t want anyone to know about it and that she and Alex agreed to keep it between them since they are working together now, so she doesn’t want it out there that she slept with the boss. Brady says he can totally understand that. Brady questions who Theresa was talking to on the phone if she wanted to keep it a secret. Theresa claims that she was talking to her cousin, Stephanie, because she had to tell someone and she knew that she would keep it between them. Brady asks if they just slept together the one time since they are living together now. Theresa assures they have separate bedrooms and it only happened that one time. Theresa asks why he’s so interested and if he’s jealous.

Maggie tells Konstantin that there’s no reason for him to leave and that she doesn’t want him to because she likes having him there. Konstantin calls that very kind of her but says he’s had the feeling that he’s worn out his welcome. Konstantin thinks back to overhearing Sarah complaining to Maggie about him. Konstantin tells Maggie that he needs to pack and exits the room.

Xander questions Sarah wanting them to raise Victoria together which she confirms. Sarah admits that deep down, she knew he’d be the most wonderful father but she was just so upset with him for what he had done. Sarah says the more people told her to let go of the anger, the more she dug her heels in because she’s stubborn which they joke about. Xander talks about meeting his match with her. Xander tells her that he’s truly sorry that he let it go this far. Sarah responds that she is too as she takes his hand and they get close.

Paulina tells Rafe to drop this immediately because they have made an arrest and her new district attorney is prosecuting her, so if it gets out that Rafe is still running an investigation behind his back then it will look bad for his department and her office. Rafe apologizes to Paulina but says she of all people should understand since a member of his family has been falsely accused of murder and he needs to fix it. Paulina warns him to check himself and questions if he’s bringing up her personal history in this. Paulina calls that highly inappropriate and reminds Rafe that he works for her. Rafe apologizes. Paulina states that she likes him and feels for him but warns that if he doesn’t drop this, she will be forced to hire a new police commissioner who will listen to orders. Paulina points out that she already hired Harris at his recommendation and doesn’t want to have to fire both of them for going behind her back, especially when there’s a new case that needs their attention. Rafe asks what it is. Paulina informs them that there’s been an increase in drug trafficking and rumors of a new cartel setting up shop somewhere in town, so she needs both of them to find out who is behind it.

Gil warns Ava that Clyde won’t be happy to hear that he didn’t get that key. Ava thought they agreed they didn’t want to give Harris any reason to start asking question. Gil says they don’t but he doesn’t know if Clyde will see it that way and he will have no choice but to tell him that Ava refused to get the key, so there’s no telling how Clyde will react as he could be mellow or he could ask him to pull the trigger on her son. Gil then suggests he might be persuaded not to mention her disobedience to Clyde if she does a little something for him in return.

Brady assures Theresa that he’s not jealous and his only reaction is that it won’t last between her and Alex. Brady asks why he would be jealous. Alex then enters the office and asks if everything is alright in here.

Konstantin goes to his room and listens to his voicemail from Theresa. Konstantin declares that no one is going to hear it from him and calls himself an idiot for getting in Maggie’s good graces by returning the baby but then ruining it by kissing Maggie. Konstantin questions why he would take such a risk but admits it’s still possible this gamble will pay off.

Xander and Sarah almost kiss but Maggie returns to the room and interrupts. Maggie asks how Victoria is doing. Sarah says she’s great and never better, because she and Xander have decided to drop the custody case which surprises Maggie. Sarah explains that after everything that happened, they decided to work things out amicably. Maggie calls that wonderful news and just what she wanted for them both. Maggie is sorry it took a kidnapping to make it happen. Xander jokes that they would’ve preferred to skip that part too. Sarah admits it woke them up since all that matters is that Victoria is safe and home where she belongs, thanks to Konstantin. Konstantin then comes in. Sarah tells him tha they were just talking about how grateful they are to him. Konstantin declares that he came to say goodbye because he is leaving Salem.

Rafe tells Paulina that he’ll be happy to lead an investigation on the recent arrests since the last thing Salem needs is more drugs on the streets. Paulina agrees and says she’ll be in touch later in the week. Paulina warns that this better be the last she hears about the case against Gabi because she’s given her final word on that subject. Paulina then exits the Pub. Harris tells Rafe that he’s sorry about that. Rafe says that Paulina is right that what he asked Harris to do is completely against protocol. Harris says that may be but he feels for Rafe, so if he wants him to pursue other suspects in Li’s death, he will.

Gil acknowledges that Ava is a very attractive woman and says he can tell that she likes attention. Ava argues that she’s not there for his attention. Gil brings up Harris but Ava tells him not to talk about him. Gil grabs Ava and tells her that this is not optional. Ava tries to push him off and escape but he grabs hold of her and says this doesn’t have to be unpleasant and that they are so alike. Gil says they could be really good if she just gives them a chance. Ava says she hasn’t thought about it like that and maybe he’s right that they have more in common than they thought. Ava tells him that maybe they can be more than business associates. Gil suggests combining business and pleasure. Gil starts kissing her but she pushes him off and pulls a gun out, asking who is playing now. Gil asks what the hell she thinks she’s doing. Ava calls it pretty obvious that she’s making sure he doesn’t rape her. Gil argues that he’s not a rapist. Ava tells him that when he says it’s not optional and she’s trying to run away, he’s a rapist. Gil asks if she’s going to shoot him now. Ava says that depends on whether or not he makes a move. Ava warns him to go ahead and test her to see how much she wants to blow him away. Gil doesn’t believe she would do that. Ava asks if he’s sure about that. Gil points out that if she shoots him, Tripp is dead.

Rafe thanks Harris for the offer but says he can’t ask him to jeopardize his job or the entire department. Harris asks what he’s going to do then. Rafe says he does have a lot of faith in Belle, so he’s just going to have to believe in her. Rafe notes that Belle has gone against EJ before so he’ll just have to have faith that she can beat him at his own game. Harris tells Rafe that if he changes his mind, he can just say the word. Rafe appreciates that but admits that Paulina is right that it wouldn’t look good if he went behind EJ’s back and that they do need to get drugs off the street. Rafe mentions arresting a dealer last night and feels there are more out there. Rafe tells Harris to start investigating that which he agrees to do. Harris adds that he knows Rafe took a chance on hiring him, so he will do whatever it takes to earn his position. Harris then exits the Pub.

Brady tells Alex that everything is fine. Alex says they need to talk strategy about bringing Basic Black under Titan because it’s huge for them and he wants to time it perfectly. Brady says he’s due in court for Sarah because he’s been asked to testify against Xander since he led him to believe his baby was dead, so he doesn’t think Xander is fit to be a parent. Alex then points out that Sarah did the same thing to Xander and if Chloe didn’t overhear, Xander would’ve never found out the truth and would’ve lost out on something that’s rightfully his. Theresa sarcastically remarks that it would’ve been terrible.

Sarah questions why Konstantin is leaving. Konstantin says he believes the time has come for him to go. Maggie says she tried to convince him to stay. Konstantin says she’s been far too generous already so he must get going. Sarah stops him and brings up that Maggie was planning on asking him to stay through Christmas and she admits that she told Maggie that she didn’t think it was a good idea because she was worried that Maggie was getting too dependent on him. Maggie calls that silly since she’s perfectly capable of taking care of herself. Sarah points out that the truth is that they all depended on Konstantin today and he came through which Xander agrees with. Sarah says that Konstantin risked himself for their family, so she thinks asking him to stay through Christmas is the least they can do. Maggie agrees unless Konstantin has to get back to Greece and his family. Konstantin admits there’s no reason for him to hurry back, so he would be grateful to stay with them. Maggie calls that wonderful and says they are happy to have him. Konstantin says he’s very happy to know that he will be spending the holidays with all of them, adding that with Victor gone, they are practically the only family he has. Konstantin then goes to unpack his bags.

Brady gets a call and informs Alex and Theresa that he will have time to strategize after all since Justin informed him that Xander apparently dropped the custody case. Theresa questions why he would do that. Brady reveals that apparently their baby was kidnapped today, but she was found safe and sound. Alex calls that insane, asking what kind of maniac steals a newborn baby. Brady notes that whoever it was got away. Alex hopes they find him and nail his ass to the wall.

Konstantin returns to his room and says that worked out perfectly. Maggie comes in and tells him to make himself at home. Konstantin tells her that he’s very happy to stay through Christmas, but he’s not so sure that this is what Maggie wants and asks if Sarah put her on the spot. Maggie says not at all and that she’s delighted he is staying.

Sarah tells Xander that she just got off the phone with Justin, who was surprised. Sarah is glad they convinced Konstantin to stay. Xander acknowledges the bad blood between them but says they definitely owe him after today. Victoria wakes up so Sarah says it sounds like someone needs some attention and then asks Xander if he’d like to do the honors. Sarah knows he held her when she was born but asks if he wants to get better acquainted. Xander says he does and picks up Victoria. Xander declares that he’s so looking forward to getting to know her, but he already loves her with all his heart.

Ava warns Gil to stop there or she will end him. Gil doesn’t think she will. Harris then knocks on the door and says he knows he’s a little early. Harris then hears a gun shot and bursts in to see that Ava has shot Gil in the chest.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Chad walks through the town square and makes a phone call, saying he knows he’s the last person they expected to hear from, but he needs their help. It is revealed that Chad called Gwen, who is in Alamainia. Gwen responds that Chad must be really desperate if he’s calling her since he hates her. Chad states that hate is a strong word. Gwen says this must be a really big ask and what he needs. Chad responds that he wants something that only she can give him.

Stephanie questions Everett saying that she really gets around. Everett apologizes and calls it a stupid blurt as he didn’t mean for it to sound disparaging. Everett guesses it’s just weird for him to hear about her dating other people. Stephanie reminds him that she thought he ghosted her. Everett blames the coma. Stephanie says she’s very sorry that happened to him and she’s relieved that he’s okay. Everett wishes he was okay before she started dating all these other guys. Stephanie tells him that her relationship with Alex was very brief and not that serious. Everett questions why that is since Alex is an attractive guy with an inheritance so he’s a catch. Everett then asks Stephanie why she dumped Alex.

Alex is on a call at Titan, saying that Maggie is not in charge anymore so he wants to see the sales figures for the last six months of Bella Magazine and mentions hiring Theresa Donovan so he wants to set revenue goals. Brady arrives and tells Alex that he came to accept his offer to bring Basic Black to Titan if he’s still interested. Alex assures that he is as they hug.

Xander finds Sarah at the hospital and says he knows what she’s up to as he questions what she’s trying to pull now. Sarah notes that he sounds upset. Xander confirms that he is as he just found out she’s calling Brady to testify against him in court. Sarah asks if Xander can call Eric to testify, why can’t she call Eric’s brother. Sarah then tells Xander that he should know that she will do anything to protect her daughter.

Theresa sneaks in to the Kiriakis Mansion to join Konstantin in the living room. Theresa doesn’t think this is a good idea but Konstantin doesn’t care. Konstantin tells Theresa that she made her bed and now she knows what she has to do. Konstantin then instructs Theresa to take baby Victoria. Theresa questions taking her where. Konstantin tells her somewhere that Sarah can’t find her. Theresa argues that there has to be a better way because she doesn’t steal babies, especially not Maggie’s granddaughter. Konstantin pulls out his phone and threatens to call Alex to tell him that Theresa has been lying to him. Theresa stops him and tells him not to make that call. Konstantin asks if she can kidnap a kid then. Theresa comments on Konstantin just wanting his hands on Maggie’s money. Konstantin complains about Victor leaving him out of his will and feels he’s now taking what he deserves. Konstantin says he’s not going back to Greece empty-handed and he must win Maggie over. Theresa questions how he will win her over by stealing Sarah’s baby. Konstantin tells Theresa to just play her part and then Alex will never find out the truth that he is not Victor’s son and that Xander is.

Xander argues that Victoria is not just Sarah’s daughter, she’s their daughter. Sarah regrets making her with him. Sarah says that Xander will get to spin his side of things by dragging Eric in to court which will open the door for Brady to talk about Xander’s behavior towards his family and all the misery he has caused in Salem. Sarah says if he thinks he has a case to make her look like an unfit parent, he can wait until the judge gets a load of him.

Chad tells Gwen that he knows he judged her harshly for what she did to Abigail and what she did to his family was personal but this call is strictly business. Gwen says she’s listening. Chad mentions hearing she hasn’t had the best luck squeezing money out of the Von Leuschners. Gwen says it’s an ongoing enterprise. Chad guesses she could use some cash and declares that he’s willing to give her a whole stack of it in exchange for her half of the Spectator.

Stephanie thought Everett said it was weird to hear about her dating other people, so she questions why he’s asking about her relationship with Alex. Stephanie jokes that he must be trying to take over Leo’s column. Everett says it’s strictly off the record and it may be hard to hear about her dating other guys, but admits part of him is curious about what her life has been like since they parted ways. Stephanie gives in and tells Everett that she only got involved with Alex because Everett had disappeared and she was desperate to feel wanted and desirable. Stephanie notes that they didn’t last very long because Alex was a player and when she decided they were done, he had a little trouble letting go. Everett asks if that’s why Alex was saying Chad was jealous. Stephanie admits it was really awkward for awhile. Everett asks if that’s how it is now with them. Stephanie doesn’t want to go there but Everett says it’s obvious that Chad was threatened by Alex’s inability to let go, so maybe that’s how Chad perceives him now. Everett adds that unlike Stephanie and Alex, they were seriously involved so he has to assume that Chad is even more threatened by him.

Gwen doesn’t get why Chad would approach her to buy part of the Spectator when Xander is local to him. Chad says he has his reasons. Gwen guesses that Xander turned him down. Chad asks Gwen for her price. Gwen says she’s not there yet since she stabbed her father in the back to get her stake in the Spectator, so just selling it for quick cash is like adding insult to injury. Chad points out that she could tell Jack that she’s selling to Abigail’s husband. Gwen asks if this is about honoring Abigail’s legacy. Chad says that’s part of it. Gwen questions there being more which Chad confirms. Chad explains that the offers has more to do with the new editor-in-chief.

Stephanie tells Everett that he said he didn’t want her to be uncomfortable but then he keeps bringing up Chad and how he’s jealous or threatened. Everett says he’s just concerned about her because there seems to be a pattern of possessive behavior with Chad that she is not willing to acknowledge. Everett says he doesn’t want to make things harder for her but sometimes, it can be helpful to get an outsider’s objective point of view. Stephanie mocks the idea of him being objective. Everett admits he may be a tiny bit biased, but he cares about her and might have insights that are worthwhile for her to hear. Stephanie agrees to hear them but bets that she’s way off base.

Xander argues with Sarah that what happened with he and Brady is irrelevant to their case. Sarah argues that Xander trying to pass off Brady and Kristen’s baby as hers is very relevant, shows his lack of character, and was a crime. Xander knows she’ll never understand that he did that to spare her the pain of losing a child. Sarah remarks that now he’s here to cause her that same pain again. Xander calls it a totally different situation. Sarah complains that there’s always rationalizing with him and why he does the worst things, but he let Brady believe that his baby was dead and let him grieve. Sarah declares that once the judge hears all this, there is no way that Xander or his lawyer will be able to convince anyone that he should be anywhere near their child.

Brady tells Alex that he’s glad the offer still stands. Alex talks about Brady being kind enough to bring him on board with Basic Black when Maggie cut him loose, so he feels he kind of owes it to him. Alex adds that there may be one issue as he reveals that he put Theresa in charge of Bella Magazine and asks if that’s going to be a problem for Brady.

Theresa picks up baby Victoria and hopes by the time she wakes up, this nightmare will be over. Maggie returns and sees her from behind, questioning what she is doing. Theresa then runs out of the mansion with the baby. Maggie looks down and sees Konstantin on the floor. Konstantin pretends to wake up and asks what happened. Maggie shouts that someone just took her granddaughter and questions who would do such a thing.

Gwen assumes Chad considers Everett a problem which Chad confirms. Chad explains that he recently moved to Salem and he’s also Stephanie’s ex. Chad notes that Everett swears they are old news but he just hired her to do PR for the paper. Gwen guesses that Chad wants Everett out of the way. Chad responds that he’s willing to pay a whole lot of money to make sure that he is. Chad states that now Gwen knows his motivation and asks if they can make a deal.

Everett tells Stephanie that he would like to say he’s not trying to insult Chad at all, he just thinks Chad is being unfair by asking her to be patient with him while he sorts out his feelings for his late wife, when he’s the one who asked her to move in with him and his kids while at the same time, having an issue with Stephanie being friends with her exes. Everett feels it’s the Chad show and all about his dead wife and his problems with the other men in her life. Everett argues that they both know to have a healthy relationship, there has to be a take and give which he says their relationship had. Everett declares that in this relationship, she’s doing all the giving and Chad is doing all the taking. Stephanie tells Everett that he’s wrong. Everett asks if she’s really sure about that.

Brady questions Alex putting Theresa in charge of Bella, arguing that he can’t trust her. Alex says he knows her reputation but feels he needs someone like her on his team. Brady guesses he’s looking for an ally. Brady tells Alex that if you turn your back on Theresa for a second, you’re at your own peril.

Maggie helps Konstantin up as he claims he was hit in the back of the head. Maggie says she didn’t see their face. Konstantin tells Maggie to call for help while he goes after them. Maggie argues that he’s in no condition but Konstantin says not to worry about him as he exits.

Sarah tells Xander that Brady can tell the judge about the time Xander shot him and also about Xander kidnapping Nicole and Holly. Sarah then gets a call from Maggie, who tells her that Victoria is gone. Sarah asks what she means. Maggie explains that she came in to the study and someone was taking her and that Konstantin went after them. Sarah tells Maggie to call police and says she’s on her way as she hangs up. Sarah then stops and accuses Xander of doing this which he questions. Sarah tells Xander that Victoria is gone and accuses Xander of setting it up so that she looks like an unfit mother. Xander insists that he didn’t and calls that insane. Xander tells Sarah that she can hate him but they have to get to the house as their daughter needs them. Sarah agrees and they rush out of the hospital together.

Gwen tells Chad that if he called her yesterday, she would’ve told him that the Spectator was her link to her father and Salem and she would never consider severing that link, but this morning, she read an article by Everett about the romance between Leo and Dimitri. Chad guesses it didn’t move her. Gwen says she lost her lunch over it and remarks that Everett is a skilled writer to portray Leo in such a positive light. Gwen states that the timing works in Chad’s favor. Gwen tells Chad to make her an offer that isn’t insulting and the Spectator will be his.

Everett tells Stephanie that he’s glad to be wrong in this case. She asks if he’s sure. Everett says he’d much prefer to think her relationship with Chad is making her happy. Stephanie responds that she likes talking to Everett, but she doesn’t want their talks to always go down the hole of what’s not working in her relationship with Chad because that’s not fair to him. Stephanie calls Chad an amazing guy and says no relationship is just black and white. Stephanie adds that Everett has only been hearing about the bad stuff when she vents. Chad then walks in and questions what she’s venting about.

Sarah and Xander go to the Kiriakis Mansion and ask Maggie about what happened. Maggie explains that when she came back, Konstantin was unconscious on the floor while someone in a hoodie was taking Victoria but she doesn’t know who as she never saw their face. Maggie adds that they must have been strong enough to knock out Konstantin with the fireplace poker. Maggie blames herself and says she should’ve never left the room and waited until Sarah got back to bring flowers to Victor, then maybe this horrible person wouldn’t have gotten away. Sarah starts to cry as Xander goes over and hugs her. Sarah questions who would take their little girl.

Alex thinks Brady might be exaggerating a little bit. Brady thinks he’s understating if anything and can’t believe he isn’t getting through to Alex on this. Brady stops and questions if Alex is in love with Theresa. Alex says no and insists they are just friends. Brady suggests that Alex keep a close eye on his friend. Alex assures that he can handle himself. Brady adds that it’s not just about Alex anymore as he’s Victor’s heir and the face of the company now. Brady warns that if Alex decides to get in bed with Theresa, that increases her ability to wreak havoc on a whole new level.

Theresa sits in the park with baby Victoria, promising that she’ll be home soon. Theresa talks about it being a beautiful day and how she used to take Tate to the park. Konstantin rushes up to her and says he needs the baby now. Theresa calls him a sick son of a bitch while he calls her the monster who kidnapped Sarah’s baby. Theresa argues that it’s only so Konstantin can reap the benefits of returning her. Konstantin demands the baby. Theresa remarks that the baby is just a prop in Konstantin’s scheme to get Maggie’s money. Konstantin argues that they each have their own cash cow to milk as he demands the baby be handed over. Theresa then slowly hands over baby Victoria. Konstantin declares that he needs one more thing and asks Theresa to punch him in the face so that it looks like he fought to get the baby back which she then does.

Stephanie jokingly asks Chad what she doesn’t vent about. Chad doubts anything she could do could drive Everett away. Everett talks about Stephanie being a great person and an extremely gifted publicist, noting how she spun things to make Leo a positive character. Everett admits PR is not his thing which is why he has Stephanie on his team. Everett remarks that he hopes Chad doesn’t mind him stealing Stephanie away to do some work for her.

Brady guesses everything he said about Theresa fell on deaf ears. Alex says he listened and appreciates Brady looking out for him. Brady understands finding things out the hard way and tells Alex not to come crying to him when Theresa screws him over and makes his life miserable. Theresa then appears at the office and asks if someone said her name.

Maggie questions why the police aren’t here yet as Sarah cries that she doesn’t understand this and questions where her daughter is or if someone hurt her. Xander promises that she will be alright and he will see to it that their daughter is brought home safely. Xander decides he’s going to make good on his promise. Konstantin then returns with baby Victoria and says the child needs her mother as he brings her back to Sarah.

Brady tells Theresa that if she came in earlier, she would’ve heard more than just her name. Alex says he’s very glad they are both there and informs Theresa that Brady is bringing Basic Black back to Titan. Alex notes that there will be a lot of overlapping with Bella, so he will need them to play nice and asks if that can happen. Theresa says she doesn’t mind working with anyone. Brady says the same, pointing out that if they can co-parent a teenager, they can make this happen. Alex is glad and says he will get the lawyers to make things official, adding that Theresa has a file on his desk for HR. Alex jokes that he knows they are both excited to get to work together. Alex then takes Brady out of the office. Theresa complains about Konstantin and remarks that the baby better be home and safe with her mother.

Xander finishes a call with the police and says they will be sending detectives over to get statements, especially Konstantin’s. Konstantin claims it all happened so fast that he doesn’t know how much help he will be and that he didn’t get a good look at their face. Sarah points out that he chased the person and caught them. Maggie asks what they wanted and why they came here. Konstantin responds that they wanted to ransom her granddaughter. He says he doesn’t want to frighten her but notes that as Victor’s widow, she’s a target and needs to increase her security which she agrees to do. Maggie insists that she’s taking Konstantin upstairs to treat his wounds. Xander tells Konstantin that they will never be friends, but he’s grateful that he saved their little girl. Sarah adds that she is too. Sarah declares that she’ll never forget that he brought Victoria back to them as she hugs Konstantin.

Chad thanks Everett for asking him how he feels about him working with Stephanie. Chad admits he didn’t react that well at first but he thinks Stephanie is a total pro and he’s lucky to have her. Stephanie thanks him for saying that. Chad admits that he was annoyed by trying to turn Leo in to a folk hero but says that must be how good he is and that he’ll be good for the paper. Chad adds that it means a lot to him because the Spectator is really important to him and his family. Everett says he appreciates Chad being cool with all of this. Chad states that it’s just about boundaries which three adults should be able to understand. Chad asks if they understand each other. Everett shakes his hand and says definitely.

Theresa calls Konstantin and it goes straight to voicemail. She leaves a message, saying she’s calling to make sure that he took Victoria safely back to Sarah and that if the whole thing blows up, he damn well better keep her name out of it right as Brady appears in the doorway.

Maggie takes care of Konstantin and says she wanted to show his appreciation for the man who saved her granddaughter, calling him a hero. Maggie points out that he didn’t stop for a second to think about himself and then brought back Victoria. Maggie doesn’t know where to begin to thank him. Konstantin says she has welcomed him in to her home which is more than enough. Maggie says the way Konstantin has watched over them, he’s been like an angel sent from Heaven. Konstantin then grabs Maggie and kisses her.

Sarah tells Xander that she never felt more helpless in her life, then Konstantin walked in with their daughter in his arms. Xander calls it a miracle. Xander then gets a text from Sloan that they are due in court soon. Sarah admits she totally forgot and asks how she can leave her daughter now or think about any of that stuff. Sarah declares that they have to postpone again as there is no other way. Xander asks what if he just drops the case?

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Alex is working out at home as Theresa walks in. Alex apologizes if he disturbed her but she says he’s not at all.

Chad and Stephanie eat at the Brady Pub. Chad comments on her not eating much but Stephanie says she’s not that hungry. Chad opens his tablet and asks if Stephanie saw the crazy editorial that her ex wrote about Leo. Chad comments that he knows Everett is new in town and doesn’t know Leo’s story but figured he would’ve asked questions before writing something like this, questioning what kind of idiot would come up with the idea of making Leo Stark a folk hero. Stephanie then reveals it was her idea.

Everett goes over his article on Leo for the Spectator while at the office with Xander. Xander calls Sarah and asks how Maggie is doing today. Sarah responds that she’s much better. Xander is glad but assumes that means they are moving forward with the custody hearing with no more postponements which Sarah confirms. Sarah then questions why he’s really calling and if he considered what she said yesterday about his flawed legal strategy. Sarah asks if Xander is waving the white flag or if he’s actually reckless enough to have Eric testify that she’s an unfit parent.

Steve finds Konstantin in the town square. Konstantin mentions picking up breakfast for Maggie. Steve comments on hearing about a big store sale and reveals that he knows Konstantin purchased the tablecloth there and questions why he lied.

Alex tells Theresa that he should hop in the shower, but first asks if she’s thought any more about her offer. Theresa thanks him for giving her the night to think about it. Theresa then tells Alex that she would love to run Bella Magazine again, but their living working situation could get really messy. Alex points out that they are just roommates and friends. Theresa remarks that they were friends with benefits. Alex thinks they are mature enough to figure it out and asks if working at Bella will be strange or awkward for her. Theresa assures it won’t be and that she wants the job. Alex then congratulates her on the job and hugs her.

Chad apologizes to Stephanie for calling her an idiot then and questions the article on Leo being her idea. Stephanie says she didn’t suggest the love story angle but calls it brilliant. Chad questions why it would be a good idea to defend Leo of all people. Stephanie questions Chad not knowing and says the majority of Spectator readers loved Leo’s gossip column, so they miss him. Stephanie says the last thing they want readers to do is blame the new editor or lose interest. Stephanie knows Chad is upset not about Leo, but about Everett. Chad asks how he’s supposed to feel when the first thing Everett does after moving to town is hire her to represent him. Chad adds that every time he turns around, Stephanie and Everett are together, reminiscing about the good old days and talking about their relationship problems. Stephanie responds that she doesn’t know what he wants from her. Chad declares that for starters, she could’ve said no to taking Everett on as a client.

Everett pulls out his phone and starts to text Stephanie but puts the phone down.

Xander tells Sarah that she can’t honestly believe he’s going to stop fighting for her daughter. Sarah argues that she thought he’d want to save face rather than risk being humiliated because Eric is a hostile witness, who is more likely to say something bad about Xander than her. Sarah adds that Xander’s argument that she’s a bad parent because she lied about her baby to Eric is the height of hypocrisy when Xander was part of that lie. Xander brings up Sarah lying to him about his baby being the whole start of this. Sarah says none of that matters now. Xander says it matters to him and says she wasn’t being reasonable. Sarah responds that she doesn’t want him in her life or Victoria’s. Xander guesses he will see her in court then and hangs up. Sarah tosses her phone as Maggie walks in and guesses it was Xander. Sarah complains that Xander is impossible for going ahead with this sham of a custody hearing. Maggie asks what she can do. Sarah asks her to watch Victoria for her since she got called in for an early shift at the hospital and then she has to go to court. Maggie assures that she would be delighted to watch her granddaughter. Sarah hopes Maggie didn’t have plans. Maggie says she was going to go Christmas shopping but she can do that anytime and hopefully with Sarah and Victoria. Maggie adds that she could also use some help in getting something for Konstantin. Sarah questions if Konstantin is planning to stay through Christmas.

Konstantin asks Steve what he’s lying about. Steve explains that Konstantin gave Maggie a tablecloth that he claimed came from Victor and that he had it flown in from Greece, but he found the price tag, proving that he lied. Konstantin then admits that he lied so Steve questions why. Konstantin claims that Maggie was having a terrible day, missing Victor, so he wanted to lift her spirits. Konstantin adds that it was too late to have something shipped from Greece by the time he found out about their anniversary, so he admits to telling a white lie. Konstantin says he didn’t feel good about it but after seeing how excited Maggie was when she saw the tablecloth, it was all worth it. Konstantin asks Steve not to tell Maggie. Steve agrees not to because he doesn’t want to upset her but warns that it better not be a pattern of hurting her. Konstantin assures that he would never because Victor was so important to him and so is his widow. Konstantin adds that Maggie is very lucky to have friends like Steve as he then walks away.

Xander tells Everett that he saw he turned off comments on his Leo Stark article, but congratulates him on views skyrocketing in the last 24 hours. Xander says he apparently made the right decision in hiring him. Xander talks about Everett following his ex to a new town and taking this job. Everett notes that he was in a coma for a year and says he’s happy to have a job. Xander brings up finding out that their long term viability is in question. Everett admits he was surprised to learn about the paper’s recent financial woes, but he’s glad he had the good sense to hire the best PR firm in town as Stephanie really delivered big time.

Stephanie questions Chad telling her that she should’ve turned down a potentially lucrative client because he doesn’t like that they used to date. Chad says she can do whatever she wants but he thinks that there are other PR firms that Everett could’ve hired and a thousand other towns he could’ve moved to, so he questions not thinking there is an ulterior motive. Stephanie remarks that it couldn’t possibly be about the quality of her work. Chad says he knows she’s the best. Stephanie responds that Everett knows it too and he’s comfortable with her, but obviously Chad is uncomfortable working on this project so she’s happy to keep their projects separate. Stephanie accuses Chad of being jealous. Chad feels that’s what Stephanie wants and that she’s using Everett to pressure him in to making a commitment. Stephanie argues that he doesn’t know her at all then because he’s dead wrong. Stephanie doesn’t want someone who has to have their hand forced and wants someone who loves her. Chad responds that he does love her but decides to end the conversation before saying something he regrets. Chad tells her to enjoy her breakfast and exits the Pub.

Theresa asks Alex when she can start. Alex says he just has to call the board. Theresa talks about being ready and having so many ideas. Theresa tells Alex that it feels so good to know that someone finally believes in her again.

Steve goes to see John, who shows him the family tree gift he got from the kids for his anniversary. John says it’s so nice after not knowing his past to now be able to look at the family tree and reflect on everything he and Marlena have built. Steve says he has a lot to be proud of. John says Steve does too and suggests they take their wives out this weekend as things are kind of quiet on the Black Patch front. Steve says it’s funny he mentions that because he thinks they need to investigate Maggie’s new friend.

Maggie tells Sarah that she doesn’t know what Konstantin’s plans are for the holidays but he’s welcome to stay and talks about how he’s gotten her so many gifts since he arrived. Maggie tells Sarah about the tablecloth that Konstantin said he had shipped from Greece which Sarah calls very kind of him. Maggie says that’s why she wants to repay his kindness. Konstantin comes to the mansion and listens from outside the room as Sarah remarks that letting Konstantin stay here is pretty generous. Maggie then asks Sarah if she has a problem with Konstantin. Sarah says no but points out that Maggie just lost Victor and is getting awfully close to Konstantin and she thinks it’s a little too fast. Konstantin continues listening in as Maggie questions where this is coming from. Sarah talks about Konstantin being a stranger before Victor died and now he’s living with them. Sarah says it’s great that he brought her comfort but he has a life to get back to in Greece. Sarah adds that Konstantin is showering Maggie with gifts. Maggie asks what’s wrong with that. Sarah is starting to feel like maybe he wants something in return from her. Maggie questions if she thinks Konstantin is trying to get her in bed. Sarah says it’s not that. Maggie appreciates her concern but says Konstantin is not a stranger since Victor grew up with him and out of respect for Victor, she will extend the hospitality that Victor would want for his friend. Sarah talks about how Victor was savvy and careful with his friends and warns that maybe Maggie should be too. Maggie tells Sarah to mind her own business.

Steve tells John about busting Konstantin about lying over the tablecloth. Steve talks about how Victor died, Maggie inherited half of the estate, and suddenly this guy that they’ve barely heard of shows up and makes himself indispensable to Maggie. John asks if Steve thinks he’s just after Maggie’s money. Steve feels it sounds like a headline to him.

Everett goes to the Brady Pub and runs in to Stephanie. Everett says he was going to text her but it’s better to say in person. She asks if something’s wrong. Everett says no and thanks her because Xander was thrilled with the editorial. Everett tells her that her strategy was brilliant. Stephanie remarks that she’s glad someone thinks so.

Chad goes to the Spectator office. Xander asks if there’s something he can help him with. Chad asks if his new editor-in-chief is around. Xander tells him that Everett just went out for a coffee. Chad says that’s good because he hoped to speak to Xander alone. Xander asks what this is about. Chad then asks how Xander would like to sell him his half of the Spectator.

Theresa calls her mom Kimberly and informs her that she’s going to be running Bella Magazine again as Alex Kiriakis put her in charge because he knows she did a really good job. Theresa tells her that they are not sleeping together but they are roommates and he’s her boss. Theresa acknowledges that Alex is quite attractive and admits she likes him a lot. Theresa then hangs up as Konstantin arrives at the door. Theresa questions what the hell he’s doing here as he barely missed Alex. Konstantin assures that he waited until he saw Alex leave and tells her not to worry because this will be his last visit which she questions. Konstantin declares that he was thinking about telling Alex that he’s not Victor’s son and that Theresa has been lying to him all this time.

Everett asks Stephanie what idiot could possibly find an issue with her PR strategy. Stephanie says she doesn’t want to debate who is and isn’t an idiot. Everett assumes it’s Chad that took issue with the editorial. Stephanie explains that it’s personal for him because he has a long and sordid history with Leo Stark. Everett asks if Chad can’t bear to read anything nice about Leo. Stephanie admits she wasn’t a huge fan of Leo but a large part of the readers loved him. Everett asks what Chad’s problem is then since he works for her firm and should know that part of the job is putting personal feelings aside to do what’s best for the client, the company, and more importantly for Stephanie.

Xander questions Chad wanting to buy him out of his interest in the Spectator and asks why. Chad says that the Spectator was Jack and Jennifer’s baby and was important to Abigail. Chad says it would’ve been Abigail’s and some day would’ve been their children’s. Chad adds that keeping it in the family would be nice and that the Hortons and Deverauxs are not thrilled with the direction the paper is taking. Xander points out that Gwen and Leo are gone now, so he’s determined to restore dignity to the paper. Chad didn’t think so based on the editorial he read this morning. Xander says that was meant to be provocative and that he told Everett to make this a place for real journalism. Xander hopes that if he did sell to Chad, he would keep Everett on. Chad asks why that would matter to him. Xander states that he promised to give Everett a fair shake. Chad questions Xander always being a man of his word. Xander thinks Chad doesn’t care about the paper or Abigail’s legacy, but that he wants to get rid of Everett because he hired his girlfriend and he doesn’t like it.

Sarah tells Maggie that she didn’t mean to overstep and she was just trying to be helpful, bringing up when Maggie gave her unsolicited advice about Xander. Maggie acknowledges that Sarah often did the opposite and now they are going head to head in court. Maggie says she has learned to let Sarah make her own decisions and tells Sarah to let her make up her own mind about Konstantin.

John tells Steve that as devil’s advocate, they are private investigators so they see the worst in humanity all day. John suggests maybe Konstantin is just fond of Maggie. Steve responds that he’s fond of Maggie too but he didn’t abandon his life and move in with her. John points out that Konstantin did help out Alex and Brady in Greece. Steve questions John giving Konstantin the benefit of the doubt when he’s never met him. John brings up Konstantin being fond of Victor for loaning him the money for his restaurant. Steve argues that they’ve only heard that story from Konstantin and they know the shady dealings that Victor had over the years. John agrees that they only have Konstantin’s word and admits that it would be nice if they could hear it from Victor, then suggests maybe they can.

Theresa questions why the hell Konstantin would tell Alex the truth when this is his plan too and asks if he doesn’t want his inheritance. Konstantin argues that he’s not a young man so by the time she gets with Alex, he could be as dead as Victor. Theresa questions why he would want to expose the truth to the world, pointing out that they would wind up with nothing. Konstantin argues that she will be with nothing, but he will have Maggie’s half of the Kiriakis fortune.

Alex goes to the Brady Pub and runs in to Stephanie. Alex notes that he hasn’t seen her in forever. Stephanie jokes that he’s busy running the world and mentions seeing his new roommate Theresa in the lobby, noting that she’s glad Theresa stuck around Salem. Stephanie then introduces Alex to Everett. Everett acknowledges Alex as the long lost son of Victor and CEO of Titan. Stephanie notes that Everett is the new editor-in-chief at the Spectator and that he’s new in town. Alex asks how Everett knew that Theresa was Stephanie’s cousin. Stephanie informs Alex that they used to hang out back in Seattle. Everett remarks that it’s one way to put it. Alex then realizes Everett is the guy that Stephanie said ghosted him. Everett jokes that his reputation precedes him.

Chad questions why it matters to Xander why he wants to buy the paper. Chad hands Xander his offer and says it’s way above market value. Xander responds that he cares about more than just money these days as he’s currently in the process of trying to win custody of his daughter. Chad questions him suing Sarah for custody. Xander explains that he feels having a job and a steady income will help him in the eyes of a judge, so he’s not willing to risk that for anything and declines Chad’s offer.

Sarah tells Maggie that she’s right that she can choose who she wants to spend time with and she’s sure that she wouldn’t let herself be taken advantage of. Maggie says certainly not by Konstantin because she knows he’s a good man. Sarah says if she says so and then decides she doesn’t want to argue. Maggie knows this isn’t going to be an easy day for Sarah and that it will painful for her to face Xander in court. Sarah states that it’s what she has to do to keep her daughter safe. Sarah says she should get going and tells Maggie that she loves her. Sarah thanks her for babysitting. Maggie assures they will be fine. Sarah talks about Victoria being a great napper so Maggie will get plenty of peace and quiet.

Theresa tells Konstantin that she knew he was after Maggie’s money. Konstantin remarks that at least one of them is making progress. Theresa says that stops now because she’s not going to let him take advantage of Maggie. Konstantin asks if she’s threatening him. Theresa asks why she wouldn’t threaten him after he came in threatening her. Theresa adds that Maggie has been very good to her and was a friend to her when she had a drug problem, so she’s practically family. Konstantin complains that he’s merely being kind to a lonely widow. Theresa argues that Maggie is still grieving Victor as they were madly in love. Konstantin assures that he’s very aware. Theresa argues that he thinks she’s taking too long with Alex but it might be years before Maggie is ready to move on. Konstantin is not so sure and says they’ve been growing quite close, but notes that he heard Sarah trying to turn Maggie against him as she suspects he’s up to something. Konstantin says that’s where Theresa comes in because he knows what he needs to do to earn Sarah’s trust and keep Maggie’s. Konstantin declares that Theresa is going to help him if she doesn’t want him to tell Alex everything.

Maggie watches over baby Victoria. Konstantin comes in with flowers and says he loves to see her smile. Maggie comments that he always knows the right kind of flowers to bring her but says it’s too much. Maggie mentions that she was talking to Sarah about all the gifts he gave her already and says she cannot accept the flowers. Konstantin then says the flowers aren’t for her, but for Victor, as he thought she might want to go visit with him in the mausoleum since she was so busy yesterday. Maggie mentions that Henderson is off today and she is babysitting. Konstantin offers to look after the baby while Maggie is out there. Maggie feels that’s a lot to ask. Konstantin says he’s no expert but points out that Victoria is sound asleep and Maggie will be nearby if they need anything, though he doubts they will.

Steve asks John what the plan is and if he’s going to hire Susan Banks to try to get answers out of Victor’s ghost. John brings up the last time Steve was in Greece and how he dug up all sorts of things about Victor’s life that they never knew. John suggests they do more digging, ask some friends and do research on Konstantin. Steve asks if he wants to go to Greece to investigate Konstantin. John asks why not get the full story.

Everett tells Alex about his coma. Alex tells him it was great to meet him and he has to get to the office. Alex then jokes with Everett that he knows from experience that Chad doesn’t like Stephanie spending time with her ex. Alex then exits. Everett questions that experience so Stephanie informs him that before she got with Chad, she dated Alex. Everett jokes that Stephanie really gets around.

Chad walks through the town square and makes a phone call, saying he knows he’s the last person he expected to hear from, but he needs their help.

Xander finds Sarah at the hospital and says he knows what she’s up to as he questions what she’s trying to pull now.

Update written by Joseph

Holly starts to light up a joint in the living room of the DiMera Mansion, saying she could really use this, but stops when Johnny walks in. Holly says she didn’t know he was home. Johnny tells her that he just got back and that as he came in, he saw Tate leaving, looking pretty upset. Holly informs him that they sort of got in a fight over the fact that Tate had the nerve to make a move on him while her mom is missing. Johnny agrees that sounds inappropriate but questions her mom missing. Holly explains that EJ was on the phone with Nicole when the line went dead and he thinks she was in an accident.

In the hospital, Nicole tells EJ that she doesn’t understand since Dimitri was supposed to bring her baby to the hospital and questions where they are. EJ admits that he doesn’t know as he’s spoken to several staff and security but no one has seen Dimitri or the baby. EJ adds that he spoke to an officer and they are putting out an APB. Nicole complains about not hearing an amber alert when their baby is being held by a psychotic criminal. Nicole remarks that God only knows what Dimitri has planned.

Dimitri tells Leo that he’s out of his damn mind if he thinks he’s leaving without him. Leo tells him that he has to because he’s in police custody. Dimitri reminds him that not long ago, he was in police custody and Leo helped him escape. Leo argues that was different since he was in a hospital bed while he’s surrounded by cops. Dimitri suggests hiring him a damn good lawyer.

Sloan informs Eric that the baby they were wanting to adopt was born tonight. Eric can’t believe it’s happening so soon. Sloan asks if he’s having second thoughts. Eric says of course not and that he’s elated as he can’t wait to meet their son as they kiss and hug.

Melinda is in her room with Nicole’s baby. Melinda tells the baby that she knows he misses Nicole but promises that Sloan will love him like her own and he’ll be with his real dad soon too. Melinda states that the baby, Eric, and Sloan will be one big happy family, as long as they can pull off this crazy ass plan.

Leo tells Dimitri that they don’t have money for a lawyer. Dimitri tells him not to worry as he’s going to figure it all out. Leo argues that there’s no time for that since Dr. Rolf is leaving on the submarine. Dimitri says that can wait but Leo insists that Dimitri has to leave Salem immediately. Dimitri declares that he’s not going to do that because Leo is the love of his life and he’s not going to let him rot in prison. Dimitri tells him to sit tight while he goes to get him help.

EJ tells Nicole that he knows Dimitri can be a duplicitous son of a bitch but he does not believe he will harm the baby, especially if he plans to use him as a bargaining chip. Nicole argues that she can’t just stay here and not do anything as she starts trying to get out of the hospital bed. EJ reminds her that she was just in a car accident. Nicole insists that she’s fine and tells EJ to just help her get dressed. EJ urges Nicole to rest and hugs her as she breaks down crying. Nicole questions how she can rest when she knows their baby is missing. Nicole cries that their baby needs them.

Eric tells Sloan that they have to get diapers, formula, and a car seat along with the things he’s already bought. Sloan encourages that he’s going to be an amazing father and that they’ve got this. Eric is glad to see she’s so confident. Sloan feels like everything is falling in to place and once Melinda makes the arrangements, they will finally have the family they’ve been dreaming of.

Melinda watches over the baby until there’s a knock at the door. Melinda says it’s showtime as she answers the door to see Dr. Pierce. Dr. Pierce admits he was not thrilled to get her call since after his case was resolved, he hoped to never see her again. Melinda asks if he’s still holding a grudge because she tried to put him behind bars. Dr. Pierce says he’s just drawing boundaries but thankfully Sloan proved he was innocent. Melinda argues that they both know he was guilty of insurance fraud. Dr. Pierce asks if that’s why he’s here. Melinda says he’s here because of what he did for money and she’s hoping for an encore performance.

Rafe returns to the interrogation room and asks Leo if he got ahold of his lawyer. Leo claims his brilliant legal team is being assembled as they speak. Leo asks if he has something to read until then. Rafe says no but he hopes Leo has assembled a brilliant legal team because he’s going to need it since he’s in such serious trouble. Rafe talks about Leo assaulting a police officer. Leo argues that he did not touch Jada. Rafe admits that Leo’s boyfriend did it and says it’s hard to keep track of who did what to whom, but it’d be a real shame if Leo went down for Dimitri’s crimes but when he’s convicted, he will spend a long time in prison. Leo tells Rafe that he’s wasting his time because he’s not going to turn on Dimitri. Rafe asks even if it’s the only way to save his own ass. Leo calls Dimitri his ride or die and admits he’s betrayed a lot of people in his life but he won’t betray Dimitri. Rafe tells Leo to suit himself as it’s his own funeral.

EJ agrees with Nicole that they’ve waited long enough and decides it’s time to light a fire under Rafe and his cops. EJ calls the police station, asking to speak with Rafe immediately. EJ is informed that Rafe is busy, so EJ says he’ll be right there. EJ hangs up and informs Nicole that Leo was just arrested so if anyone knows where Dimitri is, it’s him. Nicole wants to go with him but EJ says time is of the essence and it will be quicker if he goes alone. EJ says he’ll call her if he finds anything out and promises he won’t stop until their baby is back in her arms where he belongs. EJ kisses Nicole and tells her to just rest as he then exits.

Holly explains to Johnny that she remembered that she and Nicole share locations and then Eric and EJ both took off after she told them and she hasn’t heard from them. Holly sees she missed a text from Eric and finds out that Nicole really was in an accident and she had the baby. Johnny asks if the baby is okay. Holly says she doesn’t know as Eric just said that EJ took her to the hospital. Johnny says they need to get to the hospital then so he and Holly rush out.

Eric asks Sloan if Melinda told her how the birth went. Sloan tells him that Melinda said everything went smoothly and that the baby is healthy with nothing to worry about. Eric realizes that their baby and Nicole’s baby were born on the same day. Sloan pretends to be shocked to learn that Nicole gave birth. Eric says that’s what he was going to tell her when he got home. Sloan says she’s happy for them and that Nicole must be over the moon. Eric explains to her that she would be but Nicole was in a car accident with Leo and Dimitri. Sloan asks if they are okay. Eric says that Dimitri took the baby to the hospital, so EJ and Nicole should be with the baby now. Sloan thinks back to Dimitri showing up there with the baby. Sloan remarks that it sounds like everything worked out in the end.

Dr. Pierce tells Melinda that he only agreed to come because she told him that Sloan needed his help and he owes her one but he had no idea he was being summoned to do something unethical. He worries that this feels like a trap. Melinda informs him that she’s no longer the district attorney so she’s no longer interested in putting him behind bars. Melinda states that she and Sloan need a favor that requires a little coloring outside the lines. Dr. Pierce asks why he would do this. Melinda offers a sizable donation to his bank account. Dr. Pierce turns her down and says he’s going home but Melinda stops him and presents him with an amount number that changes his mind. Dr. Pierce then checks out the baby and says he is healthy and he doesn’t see any issues. He thought that was all but Melinda says there’s more to it than that. Melinda reveals that she needs him to change his diagnosis since he gave the baby a clean bill of health, but she needs the parents to believe otherwise and for him to deliver the very bad news.

Nicole checks the TV and complains there’s nothing on the news about Dimitri and her baby. Johnny arrives with Holly, who rushes up to hug Nicole. Nicole says she’s so happy she’s there. Holly asks her about the car accident. Nicole says two fugitives ran her off the road. Johnny asks how badly she was hurt. Nicole responds that the doctors said she’d make a full recovery but she went in to premature labor and had the baby. Holly notes that Eric mentioned that. Nicole informs them that they have a baby brother. Johnny asks if the baby is with EJ. Nicole reveals that the baby is missing and they can’t find him.

Sloan tells Eric that Nicole must be terrified. Eric confirms that she was but she did what any mother to do to make sure her baby survived. Sloan says she can imagine since she would already do anything in the world to protect their son. Sloan then gets a call from Dimitri and tells Eric that it’s a client so it might take awhile. Eric decides he will go see his mom and tell her the good news then and he exits. Sloan asks what Dimitri wants. Dimitri wants her help as he informs her that Leo has been arrested, so he needs her to get him out of trouble.

Leo tells Rafe that he’s wasting his time as he has nothing more to say without his attorney present. Leo then brings up Dimitri being accused of trying to murder Gabi, but now Gabi has been arrested for real, actual murder. Leo asks if that clears the slate. Rafe asks if he’s serious. Leo takes that as a no. EJ then bursts in to the room and grabs Leo, asking what his boyfriend did with his baby.

Eric goes to see Marlena and informs her that the baby they are going to adopt was born tonight and is healthy. Marlena hugs him and says she’s so happy for him as it’s what he always wanted, now he’ll be a father any day now.

Sloan tells Dimitri that this isn’t a good time and she can’t help him or Leo. Dimitri reminds her that she represented Leo before. Sloan complains about how she had to play a game of cat and mouse to get paid. Dimitri promises it won’t be like that this time and that he will get her a lot of money. Sloan says no. Dimitri tells her that he loves Leo deeply and he cannot leave town without him unless he knows that someone is looking out for him. Dimitri complains that Leo is in a world of trouble and doesn’t deserve it. Dimitri swears that Leo is a good man. Sloan responds that Leo is right that Dimitri should leave town. Sloan says she’ll get Leo acquitted and then he can join him in a land far away from Salem.

EJ demands answers from Leo until Rafe backs him off and tells him to calm down. EJ wants answers, asking what Dimitri has done with his child. Rafe asks what EJ is talking about. EJ explains that Leo and Dimitri ran Nicole off the road, causing her to go in to premature labor. Leo argues that he helped deliver the baby. EJ tells Rafe that Dimitri left with the baby to take him to the hospital, only they never appeared which Leo questions. EJ tells Leo not to act like he doesn’t know, believing they devised this whole plot. Leo insists there was no plot so EJ screams at him, asking where his son is and why Dimitri has not returned. Leo assures that Dimitri would never kidnap a baby and swears this must be a misunderstanding. EJ warns that if Leo doesn’t tell him where Dimitri is, he will live to regret it.

Johnny doesn’t understand why Dimitri wouldn’t bring the baby to the hospital. Nicole responds that she’s not sure but she and EJ think he may be using the baby as leverage to get out of his legal troubles. Holly asks how he could use an innocent baby like that. Johnny swears he’ll kill Dimitri if he hurts the baby. Holly asks how they can help. Nicole suggests one of them text EJ for an update since her phone didn’t survive the car crash which Johnny agrees to do. Holly talks about how Nicole must have been so scared on the side of the road. Nicole says the baby came out like a fighter as Holly assures that he will be fine.

Dr. Pierce tells Melinda no because if he does what she asks, he could lose his medical license and it’s way too risky. Melinda argues that with great risk comes great reward and they will reward him greatly. Dr. Pierce asks what happens when the parents ask to see the baby. Melinda says he can figure something out. Dr. Pierce argues that this is incredibly cruel and the parents will be devastated. Melinda says she doesn’t feel great about it, but he’ll be making another couple very happy.

Leo swears that he doesn’t know where Dimitri is. EJ asks what his game is then and if he’s using his son as a bargaining chip or ransom. Leo insists it’s neither. Rafe asks EJ to let him handle this. EJ tells Rafe that they are talking about his son and he’s the district attorney, so he has every right to question him. Sloan then arrives and says actually he doesn’t, because her client has nothing left to say. EJ questions Sloan representing Leo. Sloan asks them to leave so she can speak to her client in private. Rafe and EJ then exit the room. Leo asks Sloan if Dimitri called her which she confirms. Leo asks if he mentioned anything about Nicole’s baby since he was supposed to bring him to the hospital but EJ says they never showed. Sloan claims that Dimitri mentioned nothing about the baby.

Melinda holds the baby and talks about him being healthy and how his new mom, Sloan, will be so pleased. Melinda says she meant what she said to Dr. Pierce as she does feel kind of bad for what they are doing to Nicole, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the benefit of the child. Melinda mentions having to do that for her own little girl, Haley. Melinda cries about having to give her to her parents to raise and calls it the hardest thing she ever had to do as it broke her heart, but she did it because she knew that was what’s best for her. Melinda adds that she knows this is what’s best for the baby. Melinda calls Eric and Sloan good people and says they will be amazing parents.

Eric tells Marlena that first, he was skeptical because Melinda was helping arrange the adoption but she really came through. Marlena is so happy because Eric has wanted this for so long and it’s finally going to work out this time. Eric notes that he just hopes things work out for Nicole too. Marlena asks why he says that.

EJ returns to the hospital where Nicole asks if Leo told him where Dimitri is. EJ informs her that Leo swears he doesn’t know where Dimitri is and admits that Leo seemed perplexed as to why Dimitri didn’t show up at the hospital. EJ adds that Leo is of no use to them now since he’s lawyered up now. Nicole asks what they are going to do. EJ mentions that Rafe says he’s on the case but he’s going to have to find their son himself and promises not to stop until he does. Johnny decides he’s going with him. Dr. Pierce then enters the room and introduces himself to Nicole, saying he has news about her baby. EJ says he’s the father and asks where he is. Dr. Pierce claims that earlier tonight, a man showed up with a newborn in his arms that he said belonged to Nicole. Nicole guesses that Dimitri did the right thing after all. EJ argues that it doesn’t make sense since he was there and was told that no baby was ever brought in. Dr. Pierce guesses there was a mix up since word never got back to him. Nicole asks where her son is then. Dr. Pierce suggests talking in private but EJ says it’s fine as everyone here is family. Nicole asks what’s going on as she knows her baby was born prematurely. Nicole asks if her baby is okay. Dr. Pierce responds that he’s sorry but her son didn’t make it, leaving Johnny, Holly, EJ, and Nicole in shock.

Dimitri calls Dr. Rolf about holding the submarine but is told that it’s now or never. Dimitri says he will head to the docks then and asks Rolf not to leave without him as he hangs up. Dimitri says goodbye Leo and that he loves him.

Leo asks Sloan if Dimitri left town and is gone. Sloan says she believes so. Leo calls that a relief. Sloan says it’s too late tonight to get him arraigned but she will do her best to get him out of this predicament. Sloan then gets a call from Melinda and says she can’t talk long as she’s in a meeting with a client. Melinda informs Sloan that Dr. Pierce agreed to help them and is delivering the very upsetting news to EJ and Nicole as they speak.

Nicole argues that it’s not possible because her baby was perfectly fine when Dimitri left with him. Dr. Pierce brings up the car accident causing her to go in to labor and says it appears the infant sustained internal injuries in the crash. Dr. Pierce reveals the blanket that the baby was wrapped in. Nicole breaks down crying as she confirms the blanket was the one Dimitri wrapped him in. Nicole cries that this can’t be happening. Dr. Pierce understands it’s a lot to process and says he will give them privacy. He says he’s terribly sorry for their loss as he exits the room. Holly hugs Nicole as she cries. Johnny tells EJ that he’s so sorry and asks if there’s anything he can do. EJ asks Johnny to take Holly outside to give them space. Holly tells Nicole that she loves her and exits with Johnny. EJ hugs Nicole. Nicole cries that this can’t be happening and asks EJ to tell her it’s not real.

Eric informs Marlena about what happened to Nicole. Marlena comments on her being through such an ordeal. Eric hopes that the worst is behind her. Eric then gets a call from Holly and asks how Nicole and the baby are. Holly informs Eric of the news that the baby didn’t make it. Eric is shocked and says he’s so sorry. Marlena asks him what happened.

Nicole tells EJ that the doctor has to be wrong. Nicole talks about how she was just telling Holly how strong their son is and that he’s a fighter. EJ breaks down crying as well as Nicole repeats that it can’t be true, asking how it can end this way after everything they’ve been through to keep the baby healthy. Nicole argues that she took all the vitamins and medications. Nicole cries that she took care of herself because she knew how risky the pregnancy was, so she doesn’t understand. Nicole states that she and EJ have lost two babies before they were born, but this one made it. Nicole says it would be so unfair and breaks down crying as EJ hugs her.

Rafe goes back to Jada’s hospital room but finds she has gone and wonders she went after he told her to stay put.

Leo walks through the park looking to meet Dimitri but instead Jada finds Leo. Jada says she was just on her way to search for them, but Leo saved her the trouble by loitering right by the hospital. Jada suggests picking up where they left off and pulls out handcuffs.

Tate and Holly go to the DiMera Mansion. Holly hoped Nicole would be home by now. Tate encourages her to stay positive. Holly worries that Nicole could be anywhere as Tate hugs her. EJ comes home and asks if there’s any sign of Nicole. Holly responds that she hasn’t heard from her but she thinks she knows where she’s at.

Eric asks Nicole if the accident brought on the labor. Nicole thinks back to arguing with Leo and Dimitri. Nicole confirms that she had the baby right there. Eric asks where the baby is. Nicole responds that Dimitri has him which Eric questions. Nicole tells Eric that she had a beautiful baby boy and repeats that Dimitri has him now.

Sloan tells Melinda that she doesn’t understand that she won’t be able to live with herself if she doesn’t do this. Sloan declares that Eric has a baby about to be born and she loves him too much to keep that from him, since she can never give him one. Melinda comments on Sloan making up her mind. Sloan declares that she has to do it now so she’s going to find Eric to tell him the truth. Sloan then opens the door to leave right as Dimitri arrives, with Nicole’s baby in his arms. Sloan recognizes Dimitri. Dimitri recognizes Sloan as one of Salem’s top attorneys and says that’s a very good thing because he needs her help. Sloan questions what he needs her help with. Melinda asks who’s baby it is. Dimitri worries about Melinda being the district attorney but Melinda clarifies that she’s not any longer but she is still an officer of the court like Sloan. Melinda asks again who’s child he has. Dimitri then reveals that the baby belongs to his uncle, EJ DiMera, shocking Melinda and Sloan.

EJ questions Holly knowing where Nicole is. Holly explains the phone tracker she used and shows it to him. EJ asks why he is just now hearing about this and yells at Holly for withholding valuable information.

Eric encourages Nicole to stay with him. Nicole says she’s trying but she’s sleepy. Eric asks if Dimitri said where he was taking the baby. Nicole says to the hospital to get checked out. Eric questions why he didn’t take her with him. Nicole explains that he was scared to move her. Nicole notices Eric’s reaction and asks him what’s wrong. Nicole guesses that Eric doesn’t trust Dimitri. Eric tries to keep her calm. Nicole adds that Leo delivered the baby and stayed with her but he’s the one who told Dimitri to take her son to the hospital.

Leo tries to tell Jada this was a misunderstanding but Jada argues that Dimitri physically assaulted her and then they stole her car to flee the scene. Jada orders Leo to put his hands behind his back. Leo asks if they can talk this through but Jada refuses. Jada warns that she’s losing patience. Leo complains that she’s bossy and controlling like his mother. Leo then tries to run away but runs in to Rafe.

Paulina walks through the town square and runs in to Stefan, who asks for a word with her. Paulina asks how she may help him. Stefan responds that she can fire her new district attorney.

Tate argues that Holly wasn’t withholding anything and she apologized. EJ asks if Tate is why Holly is not out checking the location. Tate explains that his uncle told him to wait and let him check it out. Holly then reveals to EJ that Eric is out looking for Nicole as they speak.

Eric says he’s glad Leo stepped up for Nicole and her baby. Nicole admits it was kind and caring but he’s still a fugitive of justice and they are both out there. Nicole cries about letting Dimitri to take her little boy and worries about him using him for leverage. Eric says he’s calling Rafe to let him know as Nicole worries.

Rafe and Jada bring Leo to the police station and handcuff him to the table in the interrogation room. Leo swears that Dimitri would not have gone through with killing Jada because he has a good heart. Jada calls Dimitri a hardened criminal. Leo argues that she just doesn’t know him like he does and he just goes after what he wants. Leo praises Dimitri as a boyfriend. Rafe says they don’t give a damn and just want to know where he is. Jada warns that it’s a very serious situation and that Leo is in serious trouble if he doesn’t cooperate as he will be severely punished. Jada adds that Rafe is giving him a chance and asks if he’s going to tell them where Dimitri is or take the fall for him.

Melinda and Sloan question why Dimitri has EJ and Nicole’s baby. Dimitri explains that he and Leo got in an accident with Nicole. Dimitri adds that she was conscious and they delivered the baby, then he left to get the baby help. Melinda questions why he didn’t go directly to the hospital. Dimitri says he did but he couldn’t risk the cops recognizing him. Sloan questions why he came here instead. Dimitri notes that Leo said Sloan can get people out of sticky situations. Sloan says nothing like this. Sloan notes that Dimitri is on the run from the cops with a baby from one of the most prominent families in the state, so she questions what he thinks she can do for him. Dimitri admits he doesn’t know and that Leo just gave her his address. Dimitri says they need to find a doctor and he and Leo need to get out of town. Melinda tells him they understand which he questions. Melinda states that Dimitri was trying to do the most responsible thing in a very difficult and complicated situation. Melinda tells him to calm down because he’s come to the right place.

Paulina questions why she should fire EJ when she just appointed him district attorney. Stefan complains about EJ prosecuting his wife. Paulina argues that Gabi murdered her ex-husband in cold blood. Stefan argues that Gabi is innocent and that EJ is using the office she gave him to get revenge on him and the woman he loves.

Holly questions why they haven’t heard from someone by now since EJ has been gone long enough to find the location. Tate encourages that Eric probably already found Nicole and that she’s fine. Holly hopes he’s right.

Eric tries calling Rafe but it won’t go through. Nicole tells him there’s no cell service as Dimitri and Leo couldn’t call an ambulance either. Nicole cries about being scared and worries about Dimitri not getting her baby the help he needs. Eric tells Nicole that he’s here now and promises that Nicole and her baby boy will get the help they need. EJ then arrives and questions hearing that he has a son.

Rafe asks if Leo is going to turn Dimitri in or go to prison. Leo complains that they should be the heroes in this saga because they rescued a woman and her innocent newborn baby which he delivered. Rafe and Jada question what he is talking about as Rafe suggests he start talking.

Dimitri questions Melinda saying they will help with the baby. Melinda is sure that she and Sloan can think of a way to do that. Melinda tells him to just give them the baby and they’ll take it from there. Dimitri calls that great news and tells them how much he appreciates it. Dimitri says goodbye to the baby and hands him over to Sloan. Dimitri then rushes out of the apartment before Sloan can stop him. Sloan then asks Melinda for her phone so she can call the police. Melinda tells her to take a breath and figure out what they need to do first. Sloan questions what they are figuring out. Sloan says if they don’t call the police, they at least need to call the hospital because Nicole wasn’t due for weeks, so the baby is premature. Sloan asks which car they should take but Melinda asks her to chill out. Sloan argues that they don’t have time to chill. Sloan talks about the baby being tiny and fragile. Sloan says the baby is their responsibility now and he needs them. Melinda agrees that the baby needs Sloan and tells her that the baby could be the answer to her prayers.

Holly tells Tate that she’s so glad he’s there with her as she doesn’t know if she could get through this without him. Tate assures that he’s always there for her. Tate brings up earlier when they hugged and asks if something was about to happen between them before EJ walked in, like a kiss.

EJ asks if Nicole is alright and says he was so worried. Nicole says she will be. EJ says he’ll make sure that she is and asks about the baby boy. Nicole confirms they have a son. EJ asks where he is and what she’s not telling him. EJ asks for someone to say something and questions what the hell happened out here and where his son is as Nicole starts to cry.

Leo explains to Jada and Rafe that he and Dimitri got in to a car accident with Nicole and there was no cell service to call an ambulance. Rafe realizes that’s why Nicole didn’t get in touch with EJ. Leo adds that Nicole went in to labor and he delivered her baby which is why they should be cutting them some slack. Jada asks where Nicole and her baby are now. Leo responds that last he knew, Nicole was still at the crash site. Rafe questions leaving her and the baby there alone. Leo clarifies that Eric showed up, so he left her with him. Jada asks about the baby. Leo mentions that Nicole was concerned because the baby was premature. Rafe figures Eric will take care of them but Leo says he doesn’t have to because Dimitri took the baby to the hospital before he left, so he believes Dimitri is still there now looking after the baby..

Sloan tells Melinda that she can’t seriously be thinking about her keeping Nicole’s baby. Melinda asks why not. Sloan says she must be joking but realizes Melinda is serious. Melinda calls it a sign that Dimitri showed up with that baby right after her adoption fell through. Melinda points out that if the adoption went as planned, she would be presenting Eric with a baby right now and this baby is Eric’s actual son. Sloan argues that it’s Eric and Nicole’s son, not her son. Melinda points out that they are the only ones who know that. Sloan brings up Dimitri and that he will remember leaving the baby with them. Melinda reminds her that Dimitri is desperate to skip town with Leo. Melinda declares that Dimitri and Leo are leaving Salem for good, so if Sloan decides to keep the baby and raise him with Eric, no one will ever be the wiser..

Paulina asks Stefan how he and Gabi cost EJ his old job. Stefan doesn’t want to get in to the particulars and knows how incredible it all sounds, but insists that EJ is trying to railroad Gabi by denying her bond and having her sent to prison while awaiting trial. Stefan questions what kind of court system Paulina is allowing in this town. Paulina rejects his implication. Stefan apologizes for questioning his leadership but he just wants Gabi to get a fair shake and he sincerely doubts that can happen while EJ is in office. Paulina appreciates what he’s going through and relates but argues that if she intervenes, it could be looked at as the mayor getting involved in a murder investigation to aid her police commissioner’s sister. Stefan asks if she won’t help out Gabi because she’s afraid of how it will make her look politically. Paulina responds that she’s sorry but her hands are tied.

Rafe finishes a phone call and tells Jada that there’s unfortunately no sign of her car yet and they have no way to track it. Jada figures Dimitri probably ditched it and hopes that they have better luck finding Nicole and her baby. Leo assures that Nicole and the baby have to be okay. Rafe says for he and Dimitri’s sake, they better be. Leo calls the baby the cutest human he’s ever seen and asks if he can make his one phone call now. Jada tells him to make it count as she and Rafe exit the room. Leo then calls Dimitri, who says he was so worried and asks where the hell he is. Leo reveals that he got himself arrested.

Tate tells Holly that he could be totally wrong, but he kind of felt like they were going to kiss. Holly asks if he’s seriously thinking about trying to get some while her pregnant mother is missing. Holly complains that she thought he was trying to comfort her as a friend. Tate apologizes and tries to explain. Holly shouts that she heard he was some wannabe player but calls this beyond gross. Tate tells her that she doesn’t understand but Holly tells him to leave now.

EJ questions what the hell they are still doing here if Dimitri took the baby to the hospital. Eric stops EJ and says they can’t move Nicole because she could still have internal injuries. Nicole says she doesn’t give a damn as she needs to get to her baby and she feels fine. EJ thanks Eric for waiting with her but says he can take it from here. EJ tells Eric to go home and look after his wife while he attends to his. EJ then helps Nicole up.

Melinda argues that Sloan wanted to give Eric a son and here he is. Sloan points out the flaw in her plan is that Dimitri told Nicole that he was going to take her son to the hospital, so she’s going to be looking for him with EJ’s help. Melinda asks what if there’s no baby for the DiMeras to find and suggests saying Dimitri took the baby to the ER but it didn’t survive. Melinda goes over how Nicole’s baby was born premature after a horrendous accident and Nicole has a long history of not being able to carry a baby to term, so this could be another in the long list of maternal tragedies for Nicole. Sloan admits she can’t stand Nicole but says she wouldn’t wish that on her worst enemy, so she doesn’t think she could do that even to Nicole. Melinda tells Sloan to stop thinking about Nicole and to think about the baby. Melinda asks if Sloan really wants Eric’s baby to be raised by EJ DiMera, who she calls a monster. Sloan asks how they would pull something like this off. Melinda reminds her of the money they were going to use to fund her private adoption and says she’ll use it to pay off a shady doctor to say Nicole’s baby died while he checks the baby out to make sure he’s okay. Sloan asks if she just happens to have a corrupt doctor on speed dial. Melinda brings up a guy that Sloan defended for insurance fraud that she prosecuted. Melinda says Sloan defended him brilliantly so he got off with a slap on the wrist and even maintained his doctor’s license at the hospital. Melinda thinks he would be thrilled to provide something unorthodox, complete with a death certificate for Nicole’s baby and a couple days later, she’ll show back up with Sloan’s adopted baby. Sloan questions her just coming up with all that. Melinda responds that she does her best thinking under pressure. Melinda declares that she promised Sloan a baby and she doesn’t renege on promises, especially not to one of the only friends she has in the world. Sloan asks if she really thinks they can get away with this. Melinda states that she knows they can and calls it the miracle that Sloan has been waiting for, so she just has to decide if she wants to receive it or not.

Tate repeats to Holly that he’s really sorry and says he hopes her mom is okay as he then exits the DiMera Mansion.

Paulina tells Stefan goodnight but Stefan stops her and says he’s not done talking to her. Paulina warns him to remove his hand from her arm, so he does and apologizes. Stefan says he’s just making sure there’s nothing else he can do to help change her position like a sizable donation to her next campaign. Paulina questions if he’s trying to bribe a public official. Stefan says he’s trying to get her to see reason. Paulina decides that she will act like this conversation never happened. Stefan warns that she’s making a mistake that she might live to regret. Paulina asks if he’s going from bribery to threats and remarks that he really is a DiMera. Stefan responds that so is EJ and unfortunately for her, she just backed the wrong DiMera. Stefan then storms off.

EJ joins Nicole in her hospital room. She asks if he found out anything. EJ says he’s afraid not as he checked the ER and there’s been no sign of Dimitri or their baby. Nicole questions where they can be. EJ promises they will find out where that bastard has taken their baby and he will soon be in her arms. EJ hugs Nicole as she cries.

Dimitri questions Leo getting arrested and says this is very bad. Dimitri adds that the submarine is departing any minute. Leo tells him to save himself which he questions. Leo tells Dimitri that he has to go without him.

Eric goes home. Sloan hugs him and says she’s so glad he’s home. Eric apologizes for being late and says he got tied up. Sloan says it’s okay and asks if he saw his dad. Eric tells her that a lot has happened. Sloan says he can tell her about his day later but she wants to share her amazing news. Sloan informs Eric that she heard back from Melinda and their baby boy was born tonight.

Melinda holds Nicole’s baby with her and says all will be fine because Sloan made the right decision so the baby will be home with his new mom and dad very soon.

Rafe finds Jada in the motel where Leo and Dimitri were and notes that she didn’t say she was hurt. Jada questions what he’s doing there instead of out looking for Dimitri and Leo. Rafe explains that he was a block away when he got her call and he has Harris out scouring the area for her car. Rafe asks if Jada is okay. Jada responds that she’s not because her suspects got away and they need to be stopped.

Leo warns Dimitri that he’s driving too fast as the roads are slick. Dimitri declares that he’s not missing the submarine. Leo argues that they’ll definitely miss it if they get into an accident..

EJ goes home to the DiMera Mansion and calls Nicole, telling her that he just got home and asks where she is. Nicole tells him that she’s driving and on her way to him. Nicole tells EJ that she loves him and she is so happy that she’s having this baby with him.

Leo warns Dimitri that he’s sliding in to the other lane. Dimitri says he can’t control it.

Nicole tells EJ that she’ll be home soon but then gets in a car crash, causing EJ to panic.

Tate goes to the Brady Pub and runs in to Eric, who tells him that Roman is upstairs. Tate mentions hearing about Eric’s wedding and calls it great news. Eric then informs Tate that they are adopting a baby as well, maybe as soon as tonight. Tate asks when he gets to meet the kid. Eric jokes that he has to meet his baby first.

Melinda tells Sloan that she’s so sorry but she lost the baby. Sloan asks if this is a joke and tells Melinda that this is unacceptable. Sloan questions what Melinda means.

Leo and Dimitri check on each other after the car crash and both say they are okay. Dimitri says the other car came out of nowhere. Leo blames Dimitri for driving like a maniac and points out the other car is up against the guardrail. Leo says they can’t just leave because whoever is in the other car is hurt, so they need to check on them and make sure they are okay. Dimitri tries to stop him but Leo gets out of the car, so Dimitri reluctantly follows him. They approach the other car. Leo calls out to them and then sees that it’s Nicole, passed out against the airbag inside.

EJ tries calling Nicole back but it goes to voicemail. EJ asks where she is and what happened as he tells her to call him back. Holly walks in and asks why Nicole would need help. EJ tells her that Nicole is on her way back, but the phone went dead. Holly asks if that’s all. EJ admits that he thought he heard a crash so Holly starts to panic. Holly tries calling but it goes to voicemail. EJ tells Holly that he will find Nicole and call her as soon as he does. Holly questions him leaving and argues that he doesn’t even know where she’s at. EJ promises to find her one way or another. Holly tries to go with him but EJ tells her to stay by the phone just in case and promises to call her. EJ then exits the mansion.

Jada tells Rafe that she can’t believe she’s saying this but she doesn’t think she’d be alive if it wasn’t for Leo Stark as Dimitri had her dead to rights with a gun against her head. Jada tells Rafe that he needs to be out there to finish the search but Rafe says no and that he’s driving her to the hospital. Jada tells Rafe that she’ll find her way there but she can’t weigh him down. Rafe orders her to go to the hospital. Jada claims she’s fine and tries to walk but falls in to Rafe’s arms. Rafe asks if she’s going to start listening to him now.

Melinda knows it’s terribly disappointing but tells Sloan that she can’t reverse this. Sloan questions how she lost the baby. Melinda asks her to just let it go but Sloan refuses, arguing that Melinda said it was a done deal and told her that she and Eric were going to be parents, but now they are not. Sloan demands Melinda explain to her how the hell this happened.

Eric tells Tate that he can barely believe it and that all they know is that it’s a baby boy due any day now, so they are just hoping it’s healthy.

Leo and Dimitri wonder if Nicole is dead. Dimitri says they have to go while Leo argues that Nicole is Dimitri’s uncle’s wife and complains that Dimitri is being heartless and cold. Leo says he doesn’t want to get caught either but they did this and Nicole could be dying because of them. Dimitri asks if he wants to stand there until they get arrested. Nicole then begins regaining consciousness, shocking them as Leo exclaims that she’s alive.

Rafe brings Jada to the hospital and asks how she’s feeling. Jada says her head is fine but her ego took the real blow as she can’t believe they stole her car. Rafe says now they get to add grand theft auto to their list of charges. Jada complains that if she had been driving a department vehicle, they could track their location. Rafe tells her not to beat herself up about it. Rafe assures that they will find them. Jada just wishes she was the one handcuffing them. Rafe wonders where the doctor is as he worries that Jada needs medical attention. Rafe decides he will go find the doctor and adds that they have everyone available looking for Dimitri and Leo, so they will turn up and they will nail them

Leo and Dimitri get Nicole out of the car and check on her. Leo states that she’s hurt. Nicole asks where she is and what happened. Dimitri says he’ll call 911 and leave it to the pros but he can’t get a signal. Leo argues that they can’t just leave her there while she’s suffering. Dimitri argues that they can’t go to jail either. Leo says to figure out how badly Nicole is injured. Dimitri questions Leo suddenly being unselfish now. Dimitri warns that once Dr. Rolf’s submarine leaves, it’s gone and there is no lawyer that could get them out of this.

Melinda tells Sloan that the lawyer is not to blame nor the other family, but the baby’s mother decided to pull the plug. Sloan asks if she wanted to keep the baby. Melinda asks her not to make her do this but Sloan asks her to tell her. Melinda then reveals it’s because of Sloan, at the last minute, the mother wanted to know who would be raising her child. Sloan asks what she found out about her. Melinda responds that she just found out enough.

Eric tells Tate that it was good to see him but he has to get home to Sloan. Eric adds to keep him posted on how things go. Holly then arrives looking upset. Tate asks her what’s going on. Holly responds that she thinks something has happened to her mom.

Nicole complains that it hurts so much. Leo asks what to do and tells Dimitri that they need to get her to the hospital. Dimitri reminds him that it’s not their car and that the cops are looking for it. Leo says they have to do something. Dimitri suggests they go look for cell service so they can call for help back. Leo question wanting to leave Nicole there and says they can’t. Dimitri insists they have to and calls it Nicole’s best chance of survival. Leo complains about abandoning her while she’s writhing in pain. Dimitri says they can’t move her again as she could have internal bleeding. Leo tries asking Nicole where it hurts. Nicole calls them morons for driving her off the road. Leo apologizes and blames Dimitri. Leo says they have been praying that she’s okay. Nicole asks if she looks okay and then begins to worry about her baby. Leo insists that her baby will be fine. Nicole declares that the baby is coming.

Rafe talks on the phone about getting Jada to the hospital and how she was more focused on taking Dimitri and Leo down. Rafe says they’ll send more units as they bound to show up eventually. EJ arrives at the hospital and rushes up to Rafe, telling him that he needs his help because something has happened to Nicole.

Nicole complains about her contractions and asks for help. Leo tells her they are here to help. Dimitri questions how they got in to this. Leo blames his speeding and says now they have to help her. Leo wants to get her to the hospital but Nicole says they won’t make it. Nicole declares that the baby is coming and Leo has to deliver it.

Sloan guesses her reputation cost them the baby. Melinda responds that the mother is a very moral person apparently. Sloan tries to suggests flying to meet her and showing the real her. Melinda promises to find her another baby. Sloan argues that could take years and asks what the hell she’s supposed to tell Eric since he’s out telling his family the good news and buying diapers. Melinda suggests telling Eric that the mother got cold feet and decided to keep the baby. Melinda urges Sloan to trust that she will find her another baby even if it takes awhile. Sloan complains that she doesn’t have a while as she told her already that she doesn’t want Eric to have to wait another day to be a father. Sloan argues that she’s running in to roadblocks while Eric’s baby is out there, waiting to be born. Sloan declares that Eric needs to know. Melinda questions what she is saying. Sloan responds that it’s time to tell Eric the truth about his child.

Holly tells Eric and Tate that EJ said he would go find Nicole but she couldn’t just stay home and not do anything. Holly explains that EJ thought he heard a crash as she was on her way home but there’s five routes she could’ve been on. Tate brings up a phone tracker so Holly decides to check it. Holly finds Nicole’s location and shows Eric.

Leo tries to help Nicole through labor. Nicole worries that EJ needs to be there and that someone needs to catch the baby. Leo points out that he’s holding her hand while Dimitri isn’t doing anything. Dimitri complains that Leo is the one who insists on being there in the first place. Nicole says she needs to push. Leo tries to tell himself not to faint. Leo declares that he will pretend to be a doctor. Nicole repeats that the baby is coming as Leo encourages her. Dimitri joins Leo’s side as Nicole begins pushing the baby out.

Rafe tells EJ that he took some units off another operation to keep their eyes out for Nicole. EJ questions that being it. Rafe responds that there isn’t much they can do. EJ argues that she was in an accident and could be injured or worse. Rafe tells EJ that he has two fugitives on the loose who are armed and dangerous with a detective in the hospital. Rafe assures that he is worried about Nicole too. EJ complains about Rafe’s attitude. Rafe says he’ll call him if he hears something and walks away.

Melinda tells Sloan that she’s not being rational and that she cannot tell Eric the truth about Nicole’s baby. Sloan responds that she has to because she’s stuck. Melinda calls it a little setback. Sloan argues that a woman she’s never met before found out so much crap about her that she wouldn’t let her have the baby, so she’s radioactive. Sloan talks about trying to keep up ever since Nicole got pregnant and goes over everything she did. Melinda encourages that Sloan is so close to the finish line. Sloan remarks that she can’t keep making things worse with yet another lie. Melinda tries to calm her down but Sloan declares that she’s done. Sloan states that Eric wants to be a father more than anything in the world and that’s already happening any day now, so he needs to know it. Melinda warns Sloan to think about what happens next because Eric will walk out on her and she will be alone.

Holly sees that the last time Nicole’s location was updated was 45 minutes ago and begins to panic. Eric says he’s heading out. Holly wants to go with but Eric tells her to stay in case someone calls. Tate decides to stay as well. Holly hugs Eric as he promises to find her mom. Eric then rushes out of the Pub.

Nicole gives birth to a baby boy as Leo and Dimitri watch over in happiness. Nicole calls her baby a little miracle. Dimitri still can’t believe they just did that. Leo calls it the first time in his life that he felt important, like he had a purpose in bringing the baby in to the world. Dimitri says they certainly did their part, especially Leo. Dimitri says now they just have to pray that Dr. Rolf hasn’t left without them. Nicole says she needs them to get them to the hospital. Leo says it’s too risky and they don’t know how bad her injuries are so they don’t want to move her again. Nicole says they have to. Leo agrees that the baby needs to see a doctor and be checked out. Leo decides he will wait with Nicole until an ambulance comes and tells Dimitri to take the baby to the hospital. Dimitri argues that they cannot split up but Leo says it’s the only way. Leo tells Dimitri that he’ll meet him in the park behind the hospital after the ambulance arrives. Leo talks about the karma they are building by helping Nicole and the baby so the world will owe them. Dimitri calls him crazy and kisses him, but agrees to do it. Leo praises Nicole and says he has new found respect for her but he knows that she knows he’s right that the baby needs to be checked out. Nicole responds that she can’t let her baby go. Leo gives his word that he’ll be back in her arms before she knows it. Leo points out that they’ve come this far together and he wants her baby to be okay. Leo says he has feelings after helping her give birth. Leo promises Nicole that it’s going to be okay, so Nicole hands over her baby to Leo. Leo advises Dimitri to drive so carefully as he hands the baby to him. Dimitri then takest he baby to the car while Leo encourages Nicole that it’s going to be okay and he’s going to take care of her.

Rafe goes back to check on Jada after she saw the doctor. Rafe says he told her it wasn’t something minor. Jada complains about a CT scan and having to stay overnight for observation. Rafe says he’s in favor of that and that he’s going to ask the doctor if she needs anything special. Jada wants to be released but Rafe says she is stuck here as he exits the room.

EJ talks on the phone, questioning there being no reports of an accident. EJ notes that no accident victims have been brought in to the hospital in the last hour, so he tells them to get out and do their job. Rafe comes back by so EJ tells him to put more resources on the ground and do something. Rafe calls EJ an entitled bastard and says he was just with a wounded detective, who was held with a gun to her head, so he’s focused on the son of a bitch that did this. Dimitri arrives at the hospital with the baby and sees them as Rafe tells EJ that when he finds them, they’re going to wish they were never born. Dimitri then runs in the opposite direction with the baby. EJ argues that Rafe just doesn’t want to help him or Nicole and only cares about saving his sister from a murder charge. Rafe says he’ll let that pass because EJ is obviously very upset about Nicole, but warns that if he says it again, he’ll have to prosecute him for assault charges. EJ declares that he will find Nicole himself and storms off. Rafe then gets a phone call.

Sloan tells Melinda that telling Eric the truth doesn’t mean she’ll lose him and clarify that she won’t tell the whole truth as she believes she can sell the DNA test results as a mix up at the lab. Melinda calls that delusional. Sloan argues that Nicole is married now, so things are different, and Eric would actually get to know his child. Sloan adds that Eric could be entitled to partial custody while she could help Eric raise his child. Melinda questions if that’s her fantasy. Sloan says she at least wouldn’t have to live with the guilt. Melinda tells Sloan to let go of the guilt and not settle. Melinda warns that Sloan will either be screwing up her life or she can stick to it and have it all without risking everything. Melinda asks what’s it going to be.

Eric finds Nicole and Leo and asks if Nicole is alright. Leo says he thinks so. Eric questions why Nicole was off the road since there’s no other car and asks if she lost control. Leo responds that he’s going to let Nicole fill him in on all that and claims he’s late for a date as he then runs away. Eric says he will call an ambulance. Nicole tells him that something else happened other than the accident. Nicole then reveals that she had the baby.

Tate and Holly go to the DiMera Mansion. Holly hoped Nicole would be home by now. Tate encourages her to stay positive. Holly worries that Nicole could be anywhere as Tate hugs her.

Rafe goes back to Jada’s hospital room but finds she has gone and wonders she went.

Leo walks through the park looking to meet Dimitri but instead Jada finds Leo.

Eric asks Nicole if the accident brought on the labor and she had the baby right there which she confirms. Eric asks where the baby is.

EJ runs in to Chad in the town square. Chad comments that he’s surprised to see him out and about on his first day as Salem’s new district attorney. EJ responds that he actually had a very satisfying first day since he just finished shipping Gabi off to prison which is what she deserves for her role in ousting him from DiMera. Chad jokes that he thought it was for killing Li Shin. EJ says that too. EJ adds that even if it doesn’t get him his CEO position back, it was exceedingly gratifying to separate Stefan and Gabi. EJ then asks Chad how things are going between he and Stephanie.

Stephanie sits at home, talking on the phone with Kayla about how stunned she was that Everett showed up in Salem. Stephanie says that she’s glad he recovered but she made it clear that she’s with Chad now and she has no trouble setting boundaries. Everett then shows up at her door and greets her by saying “Morning, Gorgeous.”

At the Brady Pub, Roman gives Nicole two orders of clam chowder to go. Nicole thanks him as Roman questions when EJ became a fan of Brady home cooking. Nicole clarifies that it’s for her and she’s eating for two. Roman says in that case, it’s on the house and calls it his wedding gift. Roman then calls it quite a coincidence that Nicole and Eric both got married on the same day. Nicole is shocked to learn that Eric got married too.

Eric and Sloan kiss at home. Sloan tells Eric that she can’t believe she’s officially Mrs. Eric Brady. Eric says he’s the lucky one as they continue kissing. Eric notes that the pizza will be there any minute. There’s a knock on the door and Melinda says she intercepted the delivery so she could also deliver an important message. Melinda congratulates them and announces they are having a baby. Eric and Sloan are thrilled as Sloan calls it the best news. Eric says they have so many questions. Nicole recalls having a lovely conversation with Eric and telling him that she was getting married to EJ that day but Eric didn’t say anything about marrying Sloan. Nicole finds it kind of weird for Eric not to tell her. Roman says from what he understands, it was a spontaneous decision. Nicole asks if Roman is telling her that Eric rushed out to marry Sloan after she told him that she was marrying EJ.

Chad tells EJ that things with Stephanie are okay and that Stephanie is sorry for missing EJ and Nicole’s wedding. EJ assumes that their problems have been resolved then and asks about Chad’s difficulty moving on from Abigail. Chad admits they are actually not resolved which EJ says he’s sorry to hear. Chad adds that there’s now a new problem as a guy from Stephanie’s past showed up, who is someone that she was deeply involved with in a serious relationship. EJ asks Chad if he thinks this other guy has the potential of getting in between them. Chad wishes he could say no but with his issues around his devotion to Abigail, he unfortunately does think it’s possible.

Stephanie hangs up and asks Everett what he’s doing there. Everett explains that he came to bring her daily dose of pumpkin spice latte. Stephanie calls that nice of him but says he can’t just show up at her and Chad’s door unannounced. Everett says he gets that and admits he also had a question that is business related. Everett feels like he just walked in to a barrel of snakes and he really needs her help.

Leo complains that this is just like his nightmare. Dimitri questions how Jada found them. Jada reveals that someone saw them buying snacks at the convenience store. Jada orders them both to get on the ground now. Dimitri asks what if they don’t?

Chad explains to EJ that Everett is from Seattle and he and Stephanie were dating seriously for awhile until he got hit by a car and was in a coma. EJ assumes he fully recovered from his injuries and just showed up in Salem. Chad confirms that is the case and that Everett was hoping to pick up where he and Stephanie left off.

Everett tells Stephanie that he doesn’t mean to burden her but he doesn’t have anyone else to vent to. Everett worries that he bit off more than he can chew with this editor-in-chief job because the Spectator seems to be in huge trouble. Everett talks about how he has people banging on his door and department managers threatening to quit like it’s a sinking ship. Stephanie admits she heard rumors but she didn’t realize it was that bad. Everett calls it a shame because he heard that the Spectator was a Salem institution under Jack and Jennifer but he understands that recent events have given that reputation a black eye. Stephanie explains that the paper was stolen by Gwen and is now being run by Xander Cook, a known criminal. Everett wishes he knew that before taking the gig. Stephanie agrees that it sounds like a mess. Everett adds that he just found out that the paper’s star gossip columnist is on the run with a would-be murderer.

Dimitri suggests he and Leo both charge Jada. Jada pulls her gun and warns them to try. Leo says he doesn’t want to be shot while Dimitri argues that he’s not going back to prison. Jada says he has no choice and says she has backup on the way after they got away on Halloween. Leo talks about how clever they were dressed as ghosts. Dimitri mocks Jada as being amateur then. Jada warns him to stop talking because she’s bringing them both in, dead or alive.

Roman tells Nicole that he thought Eric’s wedding was a little too fast too, but guesses there’s no reason to wait if you know who you want to be with. Roman adds that Nicole and EJ didn’t exactly have a long engagement either. Nicole points out that she and EJ have also been married twice. Roman says regardless, he’s just glad that Nicole and Eric are friendly with each other. Roman talks about Nicole needing to be stress free for the baby. Nicole says it will be a challenge since the baby is coming in a few weeks. Nicole adds that another thing that she and EJ have in common with Sloan and Eric is that they are going to have a baby too, assuming the adoption process going smoothly.

Eric tells Sloan that they’ve got to make calls and they have to get a stroller, a crib, and a car seat. Eric adds that he has to baby proof the whole place. Sloan says they have to pick a name too. Eric says he’s going shopping for a baby boy. Eric asks if Sloan wants to come too but she doesn’t want to leave Melinda. Eric tells Sloan and Melinda to share the pizza and he will be back soon. Eric hugs Melinda and thanks her for making this happen as he then excitedly exits. Sloan then notices Melinda’s expression and asks what’s wrong. Melinda admits there is something she didn’t want to say in front of Eric. Sloan asks if there’s a problem with their baby or complications with the pregnancy. Melinda says it’s nothing like that but there are other complications as the baby was promised to someone else since another family had a contract. Melinda points out that there is always a way to break a contract. Sloan questions what Melinda has done now. Melinda responds that she hasn’t done it yet because she was waiting for her approval, but she will have to pay off the other family’s lawyer. Sloan worries about the family finding them and fighting for custody, noting that Eric will never be okay with this. Melinda argues that Eric never has to know as it’s not like Sloan doesn’t have other secrets from her husband.

Nicole exits the Pub and runs in to Eric. Nicole calls it a coincidence as she was just talking about him. Nicole notices Eric is carrying a box for a wooden baby gym. Eric then informs her that a baby boy was found for he and Sloan to adopt, so he’ll be coming home soon.

Everett tells Stephanie that it’s obvious that the Spectator has a massive PR problem and that’s why he’s here, because he knows she is just the woman to fix it. Stephanie says she’s flattered but as much as she would love to help, her plate is already full. Everett admits he’s desperate and doesn’t know what to do if the paper goes belly up. Everett says it’s not her problem but he has to start paying his medical bills from the accident. Stephanie then agrees to take the job, as long as he promises to be respectful of their relationship and respect her boundaries. Everett agrees to do that and says he respects that she’s in a relationship now. Everett hopes that things are going better with her and Chad as he asks if they have worked out their problems.

EJ asks Chad if Everett is still interested in Stephanie. Chad says it’s obvious by the way he was looking at her and that he introduced himself initially as her boyfriend. Chad thinks Everett was trying to push him aside and stake his claim. EJ asks how Stephanie reacted. Chad says that she was quiet so he has no idea what she was thinking, but when he first saw them in the park, they were hugging and she forgot to tell him about Everett stopping by the apartment the night before. EJ guesses that isn’t like her which Chad confirms. Chad worries that Stephanie is stepping back from their relationship. Chad says he doesn’t know what to think and jokes that he doesn’t want EJ’s advice after things blew up in his face with Alex. EJ informs Chad that he was thinking he should try a maybe less direct approach. EJ points out that Chad said Everett is using his job as a reason to hang around and asks what if the Spectator came under new ownership and Everett was relieved of his position. Chad asks if EJ is saying that he should buy the Spectator.

Jada orders Leo and Dimitri to put their hands where she can see them and pulls out handcuffs. Jada demands Leo handcuff Dimitri. Leo questions why he should help her. Jada reminds him that he doesn’t want to get shot. Dimitri then charges Jada and her gun goes off.

Melinda assures Sloan that the attorney is going to convince the other family that the adoption fell through. Melinda adds that they won’t have details so they’ll both have plausible deniability. Melinda says they will have to compensate the lawyer. Sloan says she’d pay anything to have a baby but she doesn’t feel great about taking a baby that’s supposed to go to someone. Melinda notes that she told the lawyer that she had to run everything by Sloan first, but he also said they have to work quickly and that he’s waiting for her call. Melinda adds that if Sloan wants, she will tell him that she doesn’t want to do it but warns that she and Eric might have to wait a very long time for another chance at being loving parents of a beautiful baby boy.

Nicole can’t believe Melinda found Eric and Sloan a baby so fast as she heard adoption can be very complicated and sometimes take years. Eric says they feel very fortunate and asks how Nicole is feeling. Nicole responds that she’d say she feels fortunate but that doesn’t even cover it after all the disappointments and heartbreaks she’s been through. Nicole says with her baby due in just a couple weeks, she feels like it’s a miracle. Eric asks if she knows if she’s having a boy or girl. Nicole tells him that they wanted to be surprised. Nicole adds that Eric and Sloan getting married right after she told him about her and EJ was also a surprise. Eric admits that running off to get married was a reaction to hearing about Nicole and EJ.

EJ tells Chad that it’s an open secret that the Spectator is in trouble as Xander is more concerned with his custody battle and he’s also low on funds after being cut out of Victor’s will. EJ thinks Chad should make a generous and anonymous offer and that Xander would jump at it, then Chad could fire Everett, forcing him to seek work elsewhere while Stephanie wouldn’t know.

Stephanie tells Everett that she and Chad have issues like all couples but that is her personal life and if they do this, it’s strictly business. Everett says he gets it and how he feels about her hasn’t changed, but he will respect her boundaries. Stephanie tells him that her relationship with Chad will be off limits for discussion. Everett apologizes for asking if they worked things out as that was out of line. Everett decides her problems are not his business and suggests they start fixing his problems. Stephanie suggests they start by talking about Leo Stark.

Dimitri steals Jada’s gun and says he doesn’t believe Jada has backup coming or else, they’d already be there. Jada warns that someone will have heard the gun go off. Leo worries that they need to get out of there. Dimitri tells Jada that she made a horrible mistake as now they are going to take her hostage. Dimitri demands Jada’s car keys which she turns over to Leo. Leo asks Dimitri if they even have room to take her with them. Dimitri admits there’s not but they can’t just leave her since she knows they are getting away. Dimitri guesses they only have one choice and declares they are going to have to kill her. Jada says he doesn’t need to do this. Dimitri orders her to turn around with her hands on her head. Leo tells Dimitri that he agrees with Jada but Dimitri insists there’s no other option. Leo reminds Dimitri that he’s not a killer anymore and that he loves him. Leo warns Dimitri that if he does this and gets caught, they will take his life and he’ll have no reason to live. Dimitri then hits Jada in the back of the head with the gun, knocking her out. Dimitri tells Leo to grab his bags and they run out of the room.

Everett tells Stephanie that he thinks the biggest problem is Leo and that they should put out a statement, distancing themselves from a crazy criminal. Stephanie says that’s why he needs her, because that’s exactly what he should not do.

Chad tells EJ that buying the Spectator is an interesting idea. EJ calls it a bold choice that he should consider. Chad wonders if maybe he’s overreacting. Chad assures that he trusts Stephanie as she’s never had a problem setting boundaries. Chad adds that maybe Everett will respect their relationship and stay away from her so that he doesn’t piss her off. Chad tells EJ that he has to go and walks away. EJ questions Chad trusting that boundaries will be respected after Everett blurted out that he was Stephanie’s boyfriend and calls that a serious case of wishful thinking.

Nicole questions EJ rushing in to marrying Sloan as a reaction to her marrying EJ. Eric admits that he did because it was a little tough for him to hear that Nicole was about to become EJ’s wife, so he thought it was time for him to do something bold and get married. Eric tells Nicole that they’ve pretended not to have feelings for each other for a long time, but they always will. Nicole admits that he’s right. Nicole congratulates Eric on his marriage and his new baby. Eric congratulates Nicole on her marriage to EJ and says he really does look forward to meeting her baby. Eric then heads in to the Pub while Nicole walks away.

Sloan tells Melinda that she doesn’t want to wait, she wants the baby as she doesn’t want Eric to have to wait another day to be a father. Melinda encourages that she made the right choice and when she sees Eric holding their son, the guilt she feels will disappear. Sloan hopes she’s right. Melinda points out that Sloan has kept Eric from knowing that Nicole is carrying his child and now she’s just making up for it. Sloan agrees and instructs Melinda to call the lawyer as they will do anything they can to make the baby boy their own.

Roman greets Eric at the Pub. Eric shows Roman the box for his wooden baby gym and informs him that they found a baby to adopt which means they will bringing home his new grandson any day now. Roman hugs him and congratulates him.

Sloan tells Melinda that she can’t wait to meet her son. Melinda assures that it will be wonderful. Melinda then calls the lawyer but is surprised by what she’s told. Melinda questions it being final, then says she understands and that there’s no reason for them to talk again as she hangs up. Sloan asks what happened. Melinda responds that she’s so sorry but she’s afraid she’s lost the baby.

Dimitri and Leo go driving. Leo gets a text from Dr. Rolf that the submarine is leaving soon, with or without them. Dimitri assures that he will get them there in time.

Stephanie and Everett go over the numbers for Leo’s gossip column in the Spectator and how people see Leo as a folk hero rather than a criminal. Everett feels editorials is out of his wheelhouse as he’s a newspaper man. Stephanie points out that he’s also a businessman now and to stay in business, he will have to keep people reading. Stephanie talks about his online readers driving his ad revenue, so he will have to give them what they want. Everett points out that Leo really is a criminal. Stephanie says he can’t think of it that way and that he’ll need to put out a statement backing Leo the way his fans see him, as someone sympathetic who would do anything for love. Everett says he gets that and can relate to that. Chad then comes home. Stephanie greets him. Everett says he was just leaving. Stephanie explains that Everett was just over because SJPR is going to do some PR work for the Spectator. Everett tells Stephanie that he’s so grateful for her help and he’ll see her tomorrow as he then exits.

Jada regains consciousness in the motel and grabs her phone to call Rafe. Jada says she needs his help as she found Dimitri and Leo but they got the drop on her and she thinks they took her car.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Leo and Dimitri have coffee in their motel room. They joke about the photos they took in a photo booth in the town square on Halloween while they were dressed as ghosts. Leo says the photos will always remind them of what they did for love. Dimitri shows Leo the paper and says it turns out Gabi spent the night in jail after being arrested for murdering Li Shin.

Tripp sits at home, reading the article on Gabi’s arrest. Wendy comes in, so Tripp asks how she’s feeling. Wendy mentions not going in to work. Tripp guesses it must be complicated with her boss being Gabi’s brother.

At the police station, Jada informs Rafe that someone said they saw Leo and Dimitri but they don’t believe it. Rafe asks about the forensics reports on the knife. Jada confirms that Gabi’s prints were found on it as expected but those were not the only ones found.

Stefan joins Gabi in the interrogation room and encourages that she’s innocent and Belle is the best attorney, so there’s no way that she will let her get convicted. Gabi knows Belle is doing the best she can, but she doesn’t think that’s going to be enough with EJ as the district attorney. Gabi says when EJ came in, she knew she was screwed.

EJ sits at home with his tablet and reads the article on Gabi’s arrest then swipes over to another article title “Newly Appointed D.A. Out For Blood”. EJ remarks that Gabi should’ve thought twice before crossing him. Belle arrives and tells EJ that she’s come to talk to the new D.A. EJ asks how she’s holding up since he’s heard Shawn left Salem and he knows how upsetting that must be for her. Belle says she’s fine and that she actually came to talk business as she reveals she will be representing Gabi.

Stefan tells Gabi not to be thinking about EJ right now. Gabi asks how she can not since if EJ wants to extract revenge, he has a sure way of getting it. Stefan argues that EJ is bound by the law’s limits, so to convict Gabi, he will need proof beyond doubt and since Gabi didn’t kill Li, there’s no proof that she did. Stefan assures Gabi that Rafe and the police will find who really killed Li.

Rafe asks Jada about someone else’s prints being on the knife. Jada confirms the report showed someone’s hands larger than Gabi’s but then realizes it was just Li’s prints. Jada recalls Wendy’s statement saying she saw Li with the knife earlier that night while cooking dinner, so they didn’t find any other prints. Rafe worries that it’s not looking good for Gabi.

Leo reads the article and talks about how juicy the Gabi story is. Leo talks about how this could’ve been in his gossip column, but he’s forced to watch from the sidelines. Dimitri blames himself for them being in this mess and he’s so sorry for that. Leo talks about how now Gabi is facing years in prison. Dimitri points out that they are fugitives. Leo continues reading that Gabi led Li to believe she had been kidnapped with the help of Dr. Rolf, which gives them an idea. Leo declares that Dr. Rolf is in Salem so they are saved. Dimitri is not sure it’s a one way ticket out since Dr. Rolf is a wanted man so he believes he’d already be gone. Leo admits he’s probably right. Dr. Rolf then knocks on their door, surprising them.

Gabi asks Stefan about Melinda Trask but Stefan doesn’t think she’d be a suspect. Rafe enters so Gabi and Stefan ask if there is any news or other suspects. Rafe informs them that they just got the forensics report back on the knife, but so far nothing has cleared Gabi. Gabi talks about how she was supposed to visit Arianna. Stefan talks about still having a lot to go through. Rafe assures they are still trying to figure out exactly what happened but unfortunately there is still no strong suspect for the murder of Li.

EJ tells Belle that he did hear Gabi has retained her, but feels this case is open and shut as Gabi is obviously guilty. Belle says she won’t take his word for it. EJ insists that he’s just trying to save her from investing in a total waste of time because of the mountains of evidence stacked against Gabi. EJ believes no jury would vote not guilty and regardless of evidence, he will prosecute any defendant to the fullest extent of the law. Belle says she’s not here to discuss his professional duties. EJ asks why she came and then jokingly asks if she brought a wedding present. Belle say she’s here to discuss his grudge against Gabi.

Wendy tells Tripp that Rafe is a good man, but he does love his sister so he’s going to do everything he can to clear her even though she looks mighty guilty. Wendy recalls seeing Gabi standing over Li’s body with the knife in her hand. Tripp is sorry she had to see that. Wendy talks about hoping Li would make it at the hospital. Wendy remembers that she hasn’t told her father and still needs to call him, but it’s the middle of the night in Hong Kong so maybe she should wait. Tripp knows it’s the last thing she wants to do, but it’s only a matter of time before it’s all over the news and social media so she doesn’t want him to find out that way. Wendy asks how to tell him. Tripp says she doesn’t have to do it alone as he’s there. Wendy then calls her father and says she has something important to tell him. Wendy says it’s not about her new job, but about Li. Wendy yells at him to just listen to her. Wendy apologizes and cries that she’s feeling a bit overwhelmed. Wendy then hands the phone to Tripp. Tripp informs Wei Shin that he hates to be the bearer of awful news, but his son Li has died.

Stefan tells Gabi that just because there was no evidence found on the murder weapon doesn’t mean there’s no evidence out there as the killer had to leave something behind. Rafe assures that they are working on it. Gabi worries that the evidence won’t matter as long as EJ is prosecuting her because he will do everything he can to punish her for what they did to him. Stefan says that’s why they cannot give up and that Belle seems to believe they can use EJ’s vendetta against him and make a case for a conflict of interest to have the charges dropped and the case dismissed. Stefan says that’s why Belle didn’t come with him, because she’s talking to EJ now.

EJ questions Belle thinking he’s prosecuting Gabi out of a personal grudge. Belle mentions talking to Stefan and Gabi and finding out that they have all of the DiMera shares, so she thinks EJ is using his new position to extract revenge which makes a mockery of their judicial system and pisses her off. EJ tells her that Paulina offered him the position long before he knew that Gabi was arrested. EJ asks how Belle explains the compelling evidence against Gabi which Belle questions. EJ goes over Wendy seeing Gabi standing over Li with the bloody knife while Wendy and Tripp both heard Gabi and Stefan talking about getting rid of it. Belle asks if that’s it. EJ thinks that’s quite enough. Belle says it would be if it wasn’t completely circumstantial and totally refutable because Gabi told her that Li had already been stabbed when she found him and that she took the knife out of him in an effort to save his life. EJ laughs at that and says maybe next time Gabi casually walks in on a murder victim, she should call the police right away because that was a mistake. Belle calls it hardly a smoking gun. Belle knows that EJ is no idiot and that they both know he doesn’t have enough evidence for a murder conviction. Belle warns EJ about being completely embarrassed in his first case and suggests he just drop the charges.

Dimitri and Leo are excited to see Dr. Rolf, who says he got word that they were trying to track him down. Dimitri assumes he’s not sticking around Salem for long, so he’d like him to take them with him when he leaves, assuring that Megan will take care of the accommodations. Dr. Rolf brings up that Megan was very disappointed that Dimitri lost his inheritance as she had comforted herself with the fact that she’d be set up for life since she was counting on Dimitri to claim the fortune, only for him to bungle the entire operation by falling in love. Dimitri asks if that means Dr. Rolf won’t be helping them. Dr. Rolf repeats that Megan was not too happy when Dimitri lost his claim to the fortune, but despite her disappointment, he is her son, so she is willing to help. Leo expresses his relief. Dimitri is glad to know he can always count on his mother. Dr. Rolf responds that Megan would do anything for her family and Dimitri is family to her. Dimitri adds that Leo is family to him, but Dr. Rolf says not to Megan. Leo questions what he’s trying to say. Dr. Rolf reveals that Megan would be happy to help Dimitri but only if he does not bring Leo.

Belle joins Stefan and Gabi in the interrogation room. Belle says Rafe just filled her in and tells Gabi that she’s so sorry as she wished for better news. Gabi asks what happened with EJ. Stefan asks if she had any success talking sense in to EJ. Belle says she tried but he refused to drop the charges. Gabi is not surprised since EJ has her where he wants her. Stefan calls it a setback. Stefan says they are going to go to her arraignment, pay her bail, so she can come home and spend the night in their bed with him. Belle responds that it might not be possible since EJ made it clear that he’s going to ask the judge to deny her bail. Gabi asks why he would do that. Belle thinks that EJ will make the case that she’s a flight risk since the family owns the DiMera Jet. Belle states that EJ is on a mission and has every intention of throwing the book at her.

Tripp tells Wei Shin that Wendy will be in touch and that he’s so sorry for his loss as he then hangs up. Wendy thanks Tripp and says it just hurts and she couldn’t say it. Tripp tells her that her father knows now and that’s all that matters. Wendy asks how he took it. Tripp says he seemed pretty stoic. Wendy says that’s her father, never showing his feelings, not even if his son has died. Tripp isn’t sure he was feeling anything as he sounded more like he was in shock and couldn’t believe what happened. Wendy relates to that feeling. Tripp hugs her as she cries.

Dimitri tells Dr. Rolf that he will have to find another seat because he and Leo are a package deal. Dr. Rolf says he’s sorry but Megan was clear in her instructions to only bring Dimitri so she’d be very displeased at the sight of Leo. Dimitri says he’ll deal with his mother and instructs Dr. Rolf to make sure the submarine is ready and waiting. Dr. Rolf then exits. Leo tells Dimitri that may have been the most romantic thing he’s ever seen. Dimitri says Leo is leaving Salem behind for him, so it’s the least he could do. Dimitri asks if Leo is sure he wants to do this because it’s not just leaving Salem behind, but leaving his whole life forever. Leo acknowledges that there will be things he will miss but declares that his future is with Dimitri, where ever that may be as they kiss.

Jada goes to Wendy and Tripp’s apartment. Jada says she’s sorry to bother Wendy as she knows she’s been through a lot but she had a few questions and points to clarify. Jada brings up when Wendy came home from work, Li was holding the knife. Wendy confirms he was making dinner. Jada asks what kind of mood he was in. Wendy admits that Li was really upset about Gabi tricking him out of his DiMera shares. Jada questions if he was emotionally unstable. Wendy thinks that’s appropriate given the circumstances. Jada says she’s trying to get an idea of his state of mind. Wendy questions if Jada is suggesting that Li killed himself to frame Gabi. Jada says she just wants a clear picture of the facts. Wendy argues that she’s just trying to clear Gabi and asks if this has something to do with the fact that Jada is seeing Gabi’s brother. Jada promises that she wants to find Li’s killer and bring them to justice, whoever it is. Jada then gets a phone call and says she’ll head there now.

Gabi, Stefan, and Belle return to the police station from court as Gabi complains about the judge accepting EJ’s request to deny bail. Belle says they can try another judge while Stefan adds that they will file an appeal and fight this with everything they have. EJ walks in and jokes that he never gets tired of the country’s glorious legal system. Stefan grabs EJ by the throat and argues that Gabi didn’t do this and he knows it. EJ laughs it off and says Stefan isn’t as enamored with the legal system as he is. EJ remarks that he told Stefan that he would make them pay. Rafe arrives and gets in between them to separate them. EJ thanks Rafe and then mockingly wishes Gabi luck in prison as he exits.

Tripp makes herbal tea for Wendy. Wendy admits it probably wasn’t the best idea to go off on one of her new bosses and worries that she could end up with the shortest career in the Salem police department history. Tripp then gets an alert that Gabi has been denied bail which pleases Wendy.

Rafe tells Gabi that she is going to be transferred to prison and he doesn’t know how long she will be there until the trial. Rafe promises to find out who did this and that Gabi won’t be punished for a crime that she did not commit. Gabi thanks him and says Salem is lucky to have a man as honorable as him as commissioner. Rafe states that he’s doing his job but he’s doing it as her brother. Rafe hugs Gabi and encourages that she’ll be out of there before she knows it. Rafe then exits.

Belle finds EJ in the park and says she just wanted to let him know that she’s going to appeal the judge’s decision. EJ says he wouldn’t expect anything less. Belle hopes that EJ is proud of himself for doing irreparable damage to his relationship with his brother which EJ mocks. EJ reminds Belle that Stefan attacked him. Belle says she’s not talking about what happened at the station but what EJ just did in the court room. EJ asks if she means making sure an alleged murder isn’t walking the streets of Salem. Belle argues that he can hide behind his new title, but they know he’s using it to weaponize against Stefan and Gabi. Belle warns EJ that he can bask in the moment but it won’t last because he knows Stefan will retaliate. Belle declares that EJ may have just won the battle but the war has just begun as she walks away.

Gabi calls Arianna from the police station, insisting that she is innocent and Belle is going to prove that. Gabi cries that as soon as she’s free, she’s going to come see her. Gabi says she loves her and misses her and to say hi to Will and Sonny as she then hangs up. Stefan comes over and informs Gabi that transport is waiting for her outside. Stefan adds that Rafe is going with her but he wanted to give them a moment alone. Stefan asks if Gabi talked to Arianna. Gabi confirms that she told her everything and she’s being very brave. Gabi cries that she doesn’t feel very brave right now. Stefan encourages her not to focus on that but that she’s innocent and this will be over soon. Stefan calls Gabi the strongest, bravest, fiercest, and most bad ass woman he knows so prison has nothing on her. Gabi cries about getting Stefan back after he was dead for four years so she can handle this little vacation. Stefan insists that she’ll be back home before she knows it and this is just a little detour. Stefan kisses Gabi goodbye and tells her that he loves her. Gabi says she loves him and tells him to never forget that. A cop then escorts Gabi out of the police station.

Dimitri and Leo pack their bags. Dimitri jokes about all the conditioner Leo is bringing. Dimitri gets a text that their sub is waiting. Leo and Dimitri then go to leave right as Jada arrives at the door.

Roman comments that he’s glad he could brighten someone’s day since he just had to break the news to Will and Arianna. Kayla asks what news is that. Roman questions if they haven’t heard and then reveals that Gabi was arrested, surprising Kayla and Steve. Roman thought Tripp would’ve told them for sure. Steve informs him that the unplugged last night and asks what the hell Gabi did this time. Roman turns over his tablet, showing the article that says “Gabriella DiMera Arrested in Ex-Husband’s Stabbing Death”, and calls it murder one.

Eric goes to see Brady, who says he wasn’t expecting him the day after his wedding. Eric responds that Sloan is sleeping in and he told Brady that he’d be there for their parents’ anniversary gift but the question is where are they?

John joins Marlena in bed with body cream and massage lotion. John wishes Marlena a Happy Anniversary as they kiss.

Sarah joins Maggie in the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion and hugs her. Sarah knows it has to be a tough day as it’s her first anniversary without Victor. Konstantin listens in from outside the door.

Theresa has a nightmare about Alex finding out that he’s not really Victor’s son and that she forged the letter. Alex wakes her up and asks what she’s doing out on the couch. Theresa guesses she fell asleep watching TV. Alex offers to make breakfast but Theresa says she’ll just get something at Sweet Bits Bakery. Alex asks if she’s okay as she seems freaked out. Theresa responds that she’s fine and just had some weird dreams all night. Alex says he’s sorry and he would’ve let her sleep but Theresa declares that she’s never been so glad to wake up in all her life.

John hopes Marlena is not disappointed. Marlena says she just feels lucky that they are celebrating their anniversary together, so she’s not letting him out of her sight. John talks about not knowing if they’d get a chance to do this again when being gone for months but here they are and they kiss.

Konstantin listens in as Sarah asks Maggie how many years it would’ve been. Maggie tells her 13. Konstantin smiles and walks away after hearing that. Sarah tells Maggie that she didn’t realize. Maggie says it went by too fast and asks if she’s sure she doesn’t want her to go to court with her today. Sarah doesn’t want to add any more stress to this day for her. Sarah adds that she knows Maggie was hoping that she and Xander could work out some sort of custody agreement and she doesn’t want to disappoint her, but that’s just not going to happen. Maggie warns Sarah to be prepared that she could lose her daughter forever. Maggie apologizes for sounding so harsh. Sarah assures that she knows and that Maggie wished she could make things work with Xander in a civilized way, but last time she gave Xander a second chance is when she found out he was suing for full custody. Sarah declares that there is only one option and adds that Konstantin even agrees. Maggie questions her discussing this with him. Sarah explains that Konstantin knows Xander and when she heard what Xander did to him, it strengthened her resolve. Sarah insists to Maggie that this is the right thing to do and tells her to just trust her. Steve and Kayla then arrive and greet them. Maggie says it’s so good to see them. Kayla tells Sarah that she meant to call her as HR is sending over an e-mail today and mentions that she’s so happy Sarah is coming back to work. Maggie questions Sarah going back to work so soon. Sarah notes that it’s only part time. Maggie asks if she’s sure she’s ready for this. Sarah responds that she has to be so she can show the judge that she can provide for her daughter on her own. Sarah’s daughter Victoria then starts crying so Sarah says she has to go feed her. Sarah tells Kayla that she will send the paperwork back when she gets it and exits the room. Kayla apologizes to Maggie as she thought she knew. Maggie says that Sarah obviously didn’t want her to know because she knows she would worry. Maggie doesn’t think Sarah is totally facing the gravity of this custody battle. Kayla mentions knowing that this day is tough already for Maggie. Maggie asks if everybody knows that it was her wedding anniversary. Steve responds that it’s why they are here.

John and Marlena continue kissing in bed.

Brady informs Eric that John and Marlena are in their room, so he doesn’t know how much longer Eric wants to wait around. Eric says the gift is from all of them so Brady shouldn’t be the only one there waiting. Eric adds that Sloan has court anyway so he’s letting her sleep in. Brady asks about a proper honeymoon. Eric says they haven’t really discussed that. Brady brings up EJ and Nicole getting married and asks if that had anything to do with the suddenness of their ceremony. Eric points out that he and Sloan had been engaged for months. Brady says that’s not what he asked. Eric asks why he would pick the same day as EJ and Nicole and have the same anniversary as well as the day before Marlena and John’s. Brady points out that it’s also Maggie and Victor’s and jokes that it seems to be the season to get married.

Maggie thanks Kayla and Steve for the scones from the Pub. Kayla says they just wanted her to know they were thinking of her. Maggie calls it so kind and says she’s gotten so many lovely gifts lately. Steve points out the portrait of Victor. Maggie asks what he thinks. Steve calls it big but an excellent rendering. Maggie says she loves it and explains that it was a gift from Victor’s old friend, Konstantin.

Theresa runs in to Konstantin in the town square. Theresa thought he was leaving town. Konstantin responds that Maggie asked him to stay as she enjoys his company. Theresa comments that Maggie has a big heart so she hopes he’s not taking advantage. Konstantin says he came to get a gift to show his appreciation. Theresa feels Konstantin is staying to keep an eye on her. Konstantin asks how things are going with Theresa and Alex. Theresa responds that she’s bringing him breakfast now. Konstantin hopes she’s not moving too slow. Theresa assures that Konstantin will get his cut while Alex and Xander will never be the wiser. Konstantin remarks that they better not be and walks away. Xander then approaches and greets Theresa.

John and Marlena come out from their room, surprised to see Eric and Brady in the living room. Eric informs them that they have an anniversary gift for them. Marlena says that they didn’t have to do that and that she should be giving Eric a wedding present but they haven’t had time to shop yet. Eric responds that Marlena officiating the wedding was the best present she could give. John congratulates Eric and hopes that he and Sloan have as many years of happiness as he and Marlena have had.

Maggie explains to Steve and Kayla that Konstantin brought her an old family photo album to look through and had stories about every photo. Maggie says it brought her comfort as there was so much she didn’t know. Konstantin then enters with a gift and says he didn’t know she was entertaining guests. Maggie introduces Konstantin to Kayla and Steve. Konstantin asks Steve about working for Victor at one point and says that Victor called Steve one of his most reliable men back in the day and a friend of Bo’s. Konstantin says it’s a pleasure to finally meet him and acknowledge Kayla as Caroline’s daughter. Konstantin says he never met Caroline but saw a picture of her and calls Kayla as beautiful as she was which Kayla says is kind of him.

Xander questions why Theresa was talking to Konstantin. Theresa claims that he was just asking for directions. Xander says that Konstantin has practically moved in with Maggie and he thought Theresa was tight with Maggie. Xander remarks that it looked like she’s tight with Konstantin too. Theresa asks if he’s calling her a liar. Theresa says she doesn’t have time for this as Alex’s breakfast is getting cold. Xander mocks Theresa waiting on Alex hand and foot in hopes that he will beg her to marry him. Theresa remarks that Xander is just jealous that he’s not Victor’s long lost heir and son as she walks away. Xander then runs in to Sarah, who has Victoria in her stroller.

Brady tells John and Marlena that Belle wanted to be there but she’s dealing with the Gabi mess. Brady wishes Belle hadn’t taken that case since Gabi’s been playing dangerous games with people lately. Brady explains how Gabi and Stefan tried to use him to get Kristen’s DiMera shares but pulled the rug out from under him. Brady brings up that Marlena warned him and he should’ve listened. Marlena encourages Brady not to hold himself responsible. Marlena says she’s more concerned about Arianna since she was excited about coming home but she doesn’t know how she’s going to feel about finding out her mother went to jail. Eric says with everything going on, maybe they should do this another time when everyone is more celebratory. Marlena says she didn’t mean to spoil things and insists that they came all this way so they will celebrate. Marlena and John then open the gift which is a family tree. Eric and Brady explain that they did their research and the gift for this particular anniversary is wood. Brady calls it their way of telling them that they love them. Eric and Brady point out that the family tree includes all of them. Marlena calls it wonderful and thanks them. Brady says that they’ve always told them that family is everything and it is. John points out that they are going to have to add Sloan to it. Brady explains that they decided to leave out significant others, joking that no one needs to have Kristen and Theresa on the tree.

Theresa brings Alex his chocolate croissants and Alex stares her down as they then have the same exchange from Theresa’s nightmare where Theresa asks if something is wrong and Alex responds that he just got a call from the head of HR, who told him some very interesting information, so Theresa asks what that has to do with her.

Xander talks to his daughter Victoria. Xander knows Sarah said she wanted to see him in court, but his offer still stands to talk this out over tea. Sarah then asks if they can postpone the court hearing today. Xander asks if she’s having second thoughts. Sarah clarifies that it’s Sarah and Victor’s wedding anniversary so she doesn’t want her to worry about all of this. Xander asks how Maggie’s doing. Sarah says she’s as well as could be expected and thanks him for asking, noting that it means a lot to her. Xander comments that the only thing he and Victor had in common was adoring Maggie so he would never object to postponing the hearing on her account.

Konstantin tells Maggie that lace represents the 13th anniversary so he had a friend ship him a tablecloth that Victor loved. Maggie says she’s touched and will put it on the table. Maggie invites Steve and Kayla to join them for the scones they brought which Kayla agrees with. Kayla asks if Justin can join them since they haven’t seen him since he found out Alex wasn’t his son. Maggie says Justin isn’t home but she will tell him that they were thinking of him. Maggie goes to get the table setup and Konstantin goes with her. Kayla comments that Konstantin is quite the charmer. Steve says that’s one word for it but he’s calling bull. Kayla insists he’s a nice guy and that Maggie seems to really like him but Steve remains unsure. Kayla points out that there was one thing, noting that she spent a lot of time with Bo and never saw any lace tablecloths. Steve responds that’s because Konstantin is lying through his teeth.

After Eric leaves, Marlena comments to on Eric coming over the night after his wedding. John asks if she thinks something is wrong. Marlena assures that Eric seemed very happy with Sloan and about the baby. John asks how Brady is doing with Theresa back in town. Brady says he’s doing as well as he could expect. Marlena asks if Theresa will be staying in town now that Tate is there as well. Brady says probably because she’s moving on and moving in with Alex Kiriakis. John is shocked as he didn’t even know they knew each other. Brady responds that they didn’t but Theresa didn’t waste any time to zero in on Alex at Victor’s funeral after he made it clear they had no future. John asks if he thinks Theresa is after Alex’s money. Marlena questions how Theresa could have known Alex was going to come in to money. Brady says she couldn’t have and suggests it could be dumb luck or just that she has a way of sniffing out money. Brady declares that regardless, she has her hooks in pretty tight now.

Alex brings up Theresa working for Titan before and Victor putting her in charge of Bella Magazine for awhile. Theresa confirms that he did and she was sad when it went out of publication. Alex assures it wasn’t his idea and he fought for it, so now that he’s in charge, he’s looking to revive it. Alex notes that they don’t have a publisher anymore so he asks how Theresa would like the job.

Kayla questions Steve thinking Konstantin is a liar. Steve states that the tablecloth is not from Victor’s villa in Greece and reveals the tag was still on it, showing it was from the bargain basement at 70% off. Kayla can’t believe he didn’t take the tag off and asks why he would lie about something like this. Steve wonders what big things Konstantin could be covering up. Kayla believes Maggie would see through that and suggests he’s trying to make Maggie’s day easier so maybe she’s just going along with it.

Sarah tells Xander that it means so much to her and thanks him. Xander says he’d do anything for Maggie and repeats that he’s not looking for some big court fight with Sarah as he’d much rather talk it out over tea. Sarah says at times like these, she wishes they could but every time that she lets her guard down with him, something else happens. Eric then approaches and reveals that he just got served with a subpoena to testify against Sarah in the custody case.

Theresa tells Alex that she doesn’t know what to say as she’s flattered but asks if he’s sure this is what he wants since they have never worked together before. Alex jokes that they can carpool. Alex brings up that Theresa has run her own company for years and he knows she’s been winding down, so he thinks it’s the perfect time for her to take advantage of this opportunity to move on. Theresa asks why her since he doesn’t need her income to pay rent. Alex thinks she would be happy and says her reputation isn’t sterling but neither is his. Alex talks about it being a cut throat business so he wants a shark alongside her. Alex adds that a lot of people at Titan are still loyal to Maggie and think that he doesn’t deserve the job but he won’t have to question Theresa being loyal because he knows she has his back…

Sarah questions Eric testifying against her in court. Eric responds that he won’t have a choice and will have to testify that she lied about their baby to establish her pattern of deceit. Sarah asks Xander how could he. Xander argues that this was all Sloan’s idea. Eric tells him not to put it off on her as he knows that Xander told Sloan to go for the juggular. Eric says this has Xander all over it and guesses he left out the part he played in Sarah’s lie. Eric warns that he’ll tell Sloan all the details so this won’t be the home run that Xander thought it would be as he storms off. Sarah complains that this is exactly what she was talking about in regards to Xander stabbing her in the back. Sarah tells Xander that he can come after her all he wants, but warns that he better be prepared for what she’s going to dish out in court as she then walks away.

Kayla and Steve return to the Pub where Kayla forgot her wallet. Kayla tells Roman that they just came from Maggie’s. Roman asks how she is. Steve says she loved the scones but mentions the bargain basement tablecloth. Roman guesses he doesn’t want to know and goes back to work. Kayla doesn’t think they should start spreading rumors about Konstantin’s motives just yet. Kayla says that if what Steve thinks is true, the first person they should talk about it with is Maggie. Steve decides he wants to find out everything he can about Konstantin first and believes it’s a case for Black Patch.

Maggie tells Konstantin that Steve and Kayla were certainly charmed by him. Konstantin says he was by them as well since they seem like wonderful people. Maggie calls them great friends to her for a very long time. They are glad they stayed for tea. Maggie tells Konstantin that she’s glad he’s there and she doesn’t know how to thank him as he took a difficult day for her and made it special. She hugs him as Konstantin looks up at the portrait of Victor with a smile.

Brady tells John and Marlena that he has to get to work. Marlena hugs him and thanks him for the gift. Brady tells them he loves them and then exits. John calls it a thoughtful gift but he can’t think of how they came up with wood because he thought the anniversary gift was candy. Marlena thinks they are both wrong because she read it was their iron anniversary and presents John with golf clubs, thinking they could take up golf when they retire. John jokes with her and tells her that he’d like to officially say Happy Anniversary. Marlena wishes him a happy anniversary as they kiss.
