[ Ringing continues ] Cody? Yeah. Um… hi. What can I do for you? Uh, listen, I’m — I’m sorry to bug you. I just still have your number in my phone from when we thought I might be your son. [ Chuckles softly ] You’re not kidding. I didn’t know what to do. I just froze. She didn’t hesitate. We both came together and helped willow. And thank god she’s gonna be okay. I know you and willow have had your differences, but I know you don’t wish her any harm. No. Of course not. Even carly admitted that.

[ Scoffs ] Wonders never cease. Yeah, but…

But we know that harmony wasn’t willow’s birth mother. A dna test proved that. So… so back then, did — did they claim that willow was theirs? Lorraine and doug told everyone that their friend joan had given them the baby to raise. But that was before they joined friends for peace and love. S-so you never met willow’s biological mother? No, I didn’T. So why did you lie to me? Like I said, lorraine was my friend. I wanted to protect her and protect whoever that baby grew up to be. What do you mean, protect? How much sense does that make? You are not responsible for esme’s actions. That’s exactly what grandmother said. So it must be true, if you two agree. Your grandmother tried calling me. I’m helping nikolas hold a pregnant woman captive because I thought I was keeping everybody else from getting hurt. But now that cop is dead, and I know it can’t be esme who’s the killer. [ Sighs deeply ] So harmony had willow when she arrived in colorado, and denise really thought that harmony was running from something or someone? What if harmony stole willow from her parents? You think harmony kidnapped willow? Well, if denise is telling the truth. It sure sounds like harmony thought that someone was trying to track her down. Yeah. So, where does that leave us? Well, either way — either way, we know that the story about willow’s birth mom od’ing — that’s a lie. Which means it’s possible that somebody could be out there… somewhere wondering what happened to her little girl.

I spoke to the lab. Pending the postmortem, they ran rory’s bloodwork. Finn: And? They found trace amounts of snake venom. Which means that potentially, esme is at it again. No, that’s impossible.

Elizabeth, why do you thinkesme prince can’t be the hook killer? I just don’T. And I mean, cameron — cameron, come here for a minute, please. He doesn’t think it could be her either. Cameron: That’s true. Spencer: Commissioner, cam said that esme struggled with his mother. That doesn’t remotely prove that esme stabbed and killed a bunch of people. And, uh, cameron’s not the only one who believes that. Elizabeth: She had her chance to kill me and she didn’t, so doesn’t that mean she might not be the killer? I wouldn’t be so sure. Mayor collins. Jordan. We’re so sorry. Thank you. Officer cabrera was only a rookie, but he was well-respected, and I saw a very long and bright future ahead for him. It’s just awful. Laura. Yeah? What kind of judge wouldn’t be affected by that? Yeah, well, unfortunately for you, elizabeth baldwin saw esme alive and well. Now, granted, no one knows where she is right now, but according to your timeline, nikolas confessed to killing someone who’s not actually dead. And that raises a whole host of questions. Mainly, why would nikolas confess to a crime he didn’t commit? Well, I guess the obvious answer is that he is trying to protect you, because he believed you had tried to kill esme. Esme and I were struggling over a letter, and she just did a little flip off the parapet. I had nothing to do with it. It was an accident. Yeah, well, when a court finds out that just moments before that struggle, you had found out that esme had had sex with your husband, who’s gonna believe it was an accident, hmm? But if I open pandora’s box, who knows what’s gonna come out? If you want to risk the spotlight being shown on your duplicitous family. Ha. Alright. I’ll bite. What do you want? This is what nikolas offered me as a settlement. Whoa. My nephew is very generous.

[ Laughs ] Not nearly generous enough, in my opinion. Now, if you want an amicable divorce, you’re gonna need to sweeten the pot exponentially. Oh, but I just want to get lost in us. Do you know what I mean? Just pretend that the whole rest of the world has gone away. It’s just us. But if lucy really is in danger, you know. Well, I haven’t chosen this location completely at random. Oh. You mean that we’re living in this drafty old windmill in the middle of winter on purpose? A drafty old windmill not far from amsterdam, which is one of the diamond capitals of the world, where I just so happen to know a certain diamond dealer who’s not all that particular when it comes to choosing his clients. I take it that he wouldn’t be above doing business with victor. My father likes collecting things. I think with the right amount of persuasion… and a great deal of money, I’m sure. He might be able to tell us where lucy is. Oh, my god. That’s amazing. What are we waiting for? No, no, no, we can’t be too eager. That would send up a red flag. We have to appear aloof. And I-it’s — [Sighs] It’s heartbreaking. And I don’t know rory’s family. I don’t know his parents, but I can’t imagine what they’re going through right now. Honey, he was so young. He had so much more life left to give. I know. It’s just not fair.

[ Crying ] Dante, make sure that earring goes down to forensics in case it turns out to be a lead. There could be dna or fingerprints on it. Will do. Hey. I tried to pray, but I didn’t know what to say. You will. It’s too late. I had the chance to say what rory wanted me to say. So I looked up arrests of exotic animal smugglers for the last 10 years. We got about five hits in the port charles area. Okay. Well, can you get on as soon as possible? Yeah, will do. It’s been two months since oz haggerty was killed. The hook’s letter basically said, stay out of her way, and you’ll be fine. Could this mean that she’s done? It could. Or it could mean she’s nice and rested and ready for her next victim.

much as I’d like to believethe attacks are over, serial killers rarely stop on their own. This is the longest break so far. Yeah. The lead-up to haggerty’s killing was two weeks. This has been longer than that. Isn’t that good news? Well, no one dying is good news, but it’s premature to think the killer is done. She could have been arrested for another crime or left town for some reason. Well, whoever she is and wherever she is, she’s got to be stopped and brought to justice. He helped joss get ava to the hospital. He was also at charlie’s the night that brando got attacked. And he was at brando’s garage when diane miller got attacked, so… seems like a pattern to me. Sonny saw a pattern, too. That’s why he had him…detained. Detained him how? I don’t have all the details, nor do I want them. But sonny got dex out of police custody, and then dex just vanished. Josslyn figure that sonny was behind it, and, um…she went to pozzulo’s to look for him. Well, obviously, she found him. He’s sitting or… standing right there. Yeah, well, it’s more complicated than that. The guy who was questioning dex was not listening to josslyn. She had to call michael for backup. And then that’s when things got pretty heated, dangerous. That’s ridiculous. Sonny would never let any of his people hurt josslyn. All I know is that it was a major confrontation. If joss was mad at sonny before, it’s on a whole nother level now. Joss is upset because her mom and sonny split up, and now sonny has moved on to nina. So I sympathize, but sonny has always been more than decent to josslyn. It — it’s — it’s not about that. Whatever happened at pozzulo’s, whatever sonny did to dex, josslyn hates him for that. Alright. I don’t understand. Did something happen to britt? Obrecht: She’ll never have children. Aunt liesl, she could change her mind about that. When britta’s gone, there’ll be nothing. Why do you keep talking about britt leaving? It’s not my story to tell. That may be true, but it’s obviously tearing you up. You have to let it out.

Well, obviously, this dex is manipulating her. If joss is mad at sonny, then she’s going to jump on anything that makes him look bad. And dex knows that, and he’s using it. Does anyone work here? But I was wrong because at the end of his life, there were flashes of his old se– of his old self. And then when his memory loss started setting in and his — his defenses were — were going away… …I saw another side to my father. We were so honest with each other at that time. More honest than we’ve — we’ve ever been before he even got sick. Alzheimer’s takes a lot. But at the end, those times we had… …they were a gift.

I mean, I don’t know, and it doesn’t matter, ’cause now we have this. Dr. Gatlin-holt, I — I implore you, one last time, please do not force my hand like this. Yeah, I don’t think I have a choice, because you and everybody else in this town have been whispering in maxie’s ear, telling her to cut bait. Wait. This isn’t about insecurity? Then, years later, I happened to witness joan’s passing — drug overdose in a flophouse. Alright. What about the father? What about him? What about him? You were supposed to tell drew that both of the baby’s parents were dead. This payment only covers one imaginary dead parent. You want two in the grave? Now, that’s gonna cost you.

[ Laughs ] I’m sorry, um… it’s just… you have no idea… how important this was to me, how much I was counting on it. But I guess this hail mary isn’t going to happen, is it? Drew: Your body is going through so much right now. I know — I know it’s got to be so hard. Who told you? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey. Are you okay? Yeah. Oh, no. I woke you up. I’m so sorry.

[ Chuckles ] This — this baby is active. Wears me out. Yeah. You do look a little pale. Oh, my god. You are sick. Aren’t you? Well, I-I wasn’t suggesting that I move back in. Though I assume that you’d be open to that idea. Am I wrong? No, no — of course I want you to move back in. Uh-huh. No, it’s just — I-I just don’t want to rush things. Mm. In fact, I was — I was just telling spencer that I would prefer that he move back in because he wanted to, not because he had to. Spencer’s back? Yes. And that’s why I think it would be best for you to keep your distance from him, at least until we sort things out. That could take some time. And then there’s the whole problem of victor, which I guess leaves us in a state of limbo. And maybe you’re done waiting, but I’m just hoping that you’d be willing to press pause for now.

[ Footsteps approach ] Finn? Son. Huh? Hey, uh, sorry. I just — I zoned out there for a minute. I-I was just thinking about, uh… you look practically frozen. Where’s your coat? Did you leave it in the car? I don’t know. I just — I was walking, and… you know what? It turns out I really am hungry. Would you mind flagging down the waitress and getting us something to eat, and I can catch up with my friend? One mixed appetizer platter coming up. Neither of us fell for that. Yeah, well, I’m not a very good liar. I’m a truth teller. I try to be. And you have the truth written all over your face. So what’s going on? I took your advice and I followed up with elizabeth. And? And things are over for us. Who the hell are you to lecture me about integrity? All this talk about being honest with maxie? You’re the one who ran that data set to protect yourself.

[ Scoffs ] Dr. Gatlin-holt — you know what? You’re absolutely right. Huh. Where you going? To reset my moral compass. I allowed myself to falter, but thankfully, you — you [Chuckles] Reminded me of the man that I truly am — one who would never betray maxie, even if it cost me my company, my freedom, or anything else.

[ Door opens ]

[ Stammers ] I mean, I get that spinelli’s your friend, but — my best friend, the father of my eldest, my person, and the last time spinelli had bad vibes from someone was peter. Okay, but comparing austin and peter? No, no, I know austin is not peter. But after everything I’ve been through, it’s hard for me to trust, britt. Most importantly, it’s hard for me to trust my own judgment. Spinelli, give it back. What? I can’t give it back. It was never in your possession in the first place. Well, hand it over now, then. [ Chuckles ] Sorry to interrupt. Um, aiden is doing a-a family tree project, and nikolas was kind enough to let me go through some of laura’s stuff. So he gave you the keys to the castle. Literally. [ Elizabeth sighs ] Hey, spencer is upstairs. He might be moving back in. We have to be careful. Yeah, that’s not our only problem. Finn found those. Apparently, he saw the same bottle here at wyndemere. He started asking a whole bunch of questions, wanted to send the cops over, but I stopped him.

[ Sighs ] How?

[ Chuckles ] Congratulations. You’re gonna be a father again. To my child. I’m sorry that things didn’t work out with you and elizabeth. Are you sure it’s over? Does this have to do with what happened with jeff? Well, a lot more went down. But it’s not my place. You know, for an addict such as yourself, it wouldn’t be surprising if you thought about having a drink tonight. Why don’t you pass me a spoon? Here. Thank you. Okay, you know you can tell me anything, right? I did have such a nice time playing with donna. Yeah.

[ Both chuckle ] Josslyn, she stopped by, and she made it very clear that she thinks that this, you and me, is just only temporary, and then my head started spinning, and I started to wonder if all this pain and agony that we have to go through to be in this relationship — if it would be worth it if we didn’t survive. The only thing we can do is move forward. Carly has, right? Yeah, yeah. Okay, so? I-I totally get that. And then I see the blocks, and then I… I see this “mommy” picture, and then I start to think about what it will mean if I get closer to donna. How so? It’s really awkward for me to talk about, because I feel like it stops me from moving forward. But you know this — the reality is, I am a woman whose baby was stolen from me, a daughter who was kept from me her entire life. So I have this big hole that will never go away inside of my heart that I always keep trying to fill. And the more time that I spend with donna… …the more I’m afraid that the lines could be blurred. We agreed on a fee for you to tell drew some story about how both parents were dead so there would be no one else for him to go looking for. The terms changed. I’m not made of money. That’s a shame. Maybe I should call drew and tell him what’s going on. Or I could find that nice young woman that he’s lying to on your behalf. Or… you could pay me what I’m worth, and I’ll think about calling drew back and telling him that I remember who this girl’s papa is and how the whole family moved on to the great beyond. [ Scoffs ] What makes you think — my son. Oscar. He was sick, too. Is it…? It’s leukemia. I’m so sorry. What do the doctors say? I’m in stage iv.

[ Sighs ] So, yeah, it’s pretty aggressive, and unless I can find a family member or a close enough match for a bone marrow donation… …I don’t know.

Did you tell finn thatyou’re pregnant with my kid? I panicked. I had to think on my feet, and I had to explain why I ordered prenatal vitamins that weren’t for a patient. Well, why didn’t you tell him that you were pregnant with his child? I had to keep him away from this place! And it explains why I’ve been here and why I keep coming back.

And we haven’t slept together! Oh, my god. How are we gonna get through this? I mean, it’s not like you can fake a pregnancy for months. No, no. I-I would never do that to my boys. Willow… why didn’t you say anything as soon as you found out? Chemotherapy could… hurt the baby during the first trimester, so I made up my mind to wait. I figured it couldn’t get that much worse, right? Well, stage iv. What’s the prognosis now? I’m getting chemo, but it’s not enough. I need a bone marrow transplant, and the best chance for a match is with a family member, but I don’t have any. Does — does michael know? Yeah, he does now. He immediately forgave me for keeping it a secret. He’s been wonderful and supportive. Yeah. No surprise there. The only other people who know are tj and my doctors. If we had known, we could have helped. I want to shield wiley from this for as long as possible, and the quartermaines and carly, god love them, but they wear their hearts on their sleeves. Could you imagine if brook lynn or olivia found out? One look at them, and wiley would know something is wrong. Promise me. For three years, someone I thought I loved was lying to me and doing really shady things behind my back. Yeah, things.

Things. I didn’t — I did a thing. Okay, how do I know that? See, with peter, I kept overlooking all these tiny red flags. I own that. But you threatening to hurt spinelli, my best friend in the whole world, georgie’s father? That is a huge red flag. Willow: Please. You cannot say anything to anyone about my diagnosis. Willow, I — I just — I want to give wiley a few more weeks of happiness. And, frankly, i need a few weeks of happiness before everyone starts treating me like a sick person. I get it. So I understand why she rejected me. Because she’s finally found someone with the courage to confess that he loves her. It’s not too late, spencer. Tell her how you feel. It is too late.
