General Hospital Character Description: Ava Jerome

GENERAL HOSPITAL – ABC’s “General Hospital” stars Maura West as Ava Jerome. (ABC/Ricky Middlesworth)

Ava Jerome

Ava came to town in 2013 with her daughter, Kiki. She was revealed to be part of the Jerome crime family, which had ruled Port Charles in the 80’s. Her brother, Julian, also came to town.  Ava had a past with both Franco and Silas. She claimed that Franco was the father of Kiki. She’d had an affair with Silas while he was married to Nina, and he was the real father.

Ava was also a cold-blooded murderer when she first arrived, but they toned down that aspect of her character as time went on. Although she is still a strong person and a force to be reckoned with (especially when crossed), she’s no longer a murderer. She tries to be a good person most of the time and has long left the family business.  She had a daughter, Avery, with town mobster Sonny.

Ava owns an art gallery and has friendships with some of the people in town, including Nina, Trina, and Austin. She has suffered a lot, including: the death of Kiki; having been burned in a terrible fire; losing boyfriend Morgan, losing her husband, Nikolas, who cheated on her, and the death of her brother, Julian.

GENERAL HOSPITAL – ABC’s “General Hospital” stars Roger Howarth as Austin Gatlin Holt. (ABC/Craig Sjodin)

Austin Gatlin-Holt

Austin (Roger Howarth) showed up in May, 2021. He was living in Pautauk, where he grew up, and found Maxie about to give birth in the nearby woods. He delivered her child and ended up moving to Port Charles. His parents are the late Jimmy Lee Holt and Charity Gatlin (characters from the show back in the 1980’s).  Although he is a dedicated doctor, he’s a bit of a strange person – quirky – and is not entirely honest. He has used people when it suits his needs and can be a bit sleazy.

Austin has been revealed to be the grandson of Edward Quartermaine (Jimmy Lee was his illegitimate son) and tried to prove that he was an heir to part of the family fortune. In the meantime, Britt hired him at General Hospital.

He is good friends with Maxie, the late Britt, and Ava. He helped Ava cover up Nikolas’ near-death.  His family in Pautauk is involved with the mob.  He is threatened by his cousin Mason.  Not much else is known about him so far.

Legends of Tomorrow Character Profiles

What is everyone like?

Legends of Tomorrow

Ray PalmerRay Palmer Ray is super smart, a science prodigy, and also has a lot of enthusiasm. Although he’s very handsome, he was a lonely and bullied geek growing up. He was a successful inventor who became rich. After his fiance Anna was murdered, he developed a super-powered exoskeleton to fight crime. This is how he became The Atom. His technology allows him to fly, and to shrink or to get larger, as well as to shoot blasts.

Sara LanceSara Lance Sara was thought dead and lost at sea, but she ended up in Nanda Parbat and joined the League of Assassins. She was killed but resurrected, saved via the Lazarus Pit. She is the hero White Canary and is in charge of the Legends since Rip left.

Mick RoryMick Rory Mick was a villain, Heat Wave, along with his friend Leonard Snart (Captain Cold). Mick is a pyromaniac (likes to set fire to things) and thief. Mick was recruited to join the Legion but never considers himself a hero. He was captured by the Time Masters and brainwashed into becoming the Time Master Chronos. Mick eventually broke free of his conditioning and is back to normal (more or less). Although he acts dumbs, it’s clear that he’s pretty smart. He just likes to keep things simple. The death of his best friend affected him deeply. Mick has no powers, just a big powerful gun that shoots flames. Like all of them, he’s good at fighting, too.

Amaya JiveAmaya Jiwe She was part of the Justice Society of America in the 1940’s as Vixen. She chose to join the Legends after she found out that a time traveler killed her lover, Rex. She’s from an African village and was given a magical totem. This gives her the power to call on the power of any animal.

Nate HeywoodNate Heywood Nate is a historian who learned about the Legends and enlisted Oliver Queen to rescued them when they went missing. He’s very enthusiastic and, like Ray, a bit of a geek, despite being so handsome. He was a hemophiliac and almost died, but he was injected by an experimental serum that saved him. It also gave him the super powers to give him an instant metal skin when he needs it. He’s now the superhero Steel.

Leonard SnartLeonard Snart Like Mick, Snart was a criminal. He was the brains of their operation. He developed a cold ray gun that allows him to freeze things and people. He, too, joined the Legends. He was never as gruff or unsocialable as Mick, and eventually, he sacrificed himself to save the Legends when they were fighting Vandal Savage. He’s come back a number of times from the past. His Earth X counterpart, Leo, has joined the team for a little while. This Snart is gay and a much nicer person, who helps people with their feelings.

Zari TomazZari Tomaz She joined the team in 2042, where she was fighting against A.R.G.U.S. Religion had been banned in that future, and she was part of a Muslim family. The Legends rescued her and persuaded her to join their team. She has an amulet similar to Amaya’s, except it lets her control the air. Zari has been hardened by the loss of her family. She presents a gruff exterior, somewhat like Mick, and is very cynical.

GideonGideon Gideon is an advanced computer program, or artificial life form. She’s an interactive consciousness programmed to operate the Waverider (the time machine ship that the Legends use). We mostly just hear Gideon’s voice, but sometimes we see this disembodied head. She is very powerful and has done many amazing things. She’s related to the same Gideon that was developed by Barry Allen in the future and used by Eobard Thawne.

Rip HunterRip Hunter Rip was a Time Master, but when evil Vandal Savage killed his wife and child, he went on a personal mission to stop Vandal and save the world from this evil machinations. This violated the rules set up by the Time Masters, so they tried to hunt him down and kill him. Rip and the Legends ended up stopping the Time Masters and Vandal, but he still lost his wife and child. Rip is basically a hero, but he sometimes acts in his own self interests. He can be very single-minded and sometimes sneaky. He likes to be in control and doesn’t like to let his guard down. He’s a great fighter and can be very ruthless. Sometimes he lets his anger get in the way of his duties. Letting go of his grief has helped him to grow up and become a better person and leader.

Damian DarhkDamien Darhk Damien is a merciless killer with a great sense of humor. Even though he is evil, he also is great at justifying his actions for the greater good (as he sees it). He was once a member of the League of Assassins. He lived a long time, thanks to the Lazarus Pit, and built his power and fortune over centuries. He has obtained magical abilities, due to collecting ancient artifacts. He planned to annihilate the world with nuclear weapons after building himself, his family, and people he thought were important, an unground city to survive the nuclear fallout. He was thwarted by the Green Arrow and his friends and killed. Earlier in time, he teams up with Malcolm Merlyn and Eobard Thawne to control reality, and they do for a time, until the Legends defeat them. Damien was resurrected and teamed up with Gorilla Grodd, and his daughter Nora, and the evil Mallus.

Mallus Mallus is some sort of evil entity that can manipulated time and is feared by everyone. He can possess the bodies of humans and considers himself a God.

Jax JacksonJefferson Jackson “Jax” Jax is a former mechanic who then became a meta-human, part of the hero Firestorm with Martin Stein. He didn’t want to become a Legend, but Martin forced him to go along. Jax forgave him and the men became very close, like father and son.

Martin SteinDr. Martin Stein Martin was a professor of physics who developed Firestorm. He became part of Firestorm as a metahuman when the particle accelerator exploded. Martin knows about a great deal of subjects, including history, and he was invaluable during the Legends missions. However, sometimes his ego would get him into trouble. Brian is his best friend. They have adventures together. Stewie likes to try to kill his mom and also build time machines.

Brian bioBrian is the family dog, but he can speak and is fairly smart (not as smart as he thinks he is). He likes to read (or at least, pretend to read), write and sip Champagne. He dates humans as well as dogs.  He tries to keep Stewie out of trouble. Brian has a big crush on Lois but is also Peter’s best friend (and Stewie’s as well).  He and Quagmire hate each other.

Joe Swanson bioJoe Swanson is Peter’s next door neighbor. He’s in a wheelchair but is also a police officer.  He has an offbeat sense of humor and is usually cheery not matter what. Glenn Quagmire bioGlenn Quagmire is Peter’s other next door neighbor. He’s a pilot who’s obsessed with sex and bedding as many women as he can. Like Brian, he has a huge crush on Lois. He and Brian hate each other. He thinks Brian is a big phony. His favorite sayings are “all right” and “giggity giggity.”

Cleveland bioCleveland Brown lives across the street from Peter. Whenever there’s a terrible thing that happens in the neighborhood, Cleveland’s house is usually destroyed, with him in the bathtub and falling out of the house. He’s a mail carrier. His wife is Loretta, and they have two children. There was a spinoff of his family, “The Cleveland Show.”

Y&R Character Description – Lily Winters

Lily Winters

Lily

Played By Christel Adnana Khalil
Written By Darlene

on April 21, 2013

When Drucilla Winters gave birth to Lily, she let her husband, Neil, believe he was the father.  Neil’s brother, Malcolm Winters took advantage of Drucilla while she was under the influence.  She thought she was making love to Neil.  She became pregnant and Neil never questioned whether or not he was Lily’s father.  Malcolm and Drucilla decided to keep her true paternity a secret.  The marriage fell apart anyway and Drucilla took her young daughter to Paris.

Several years later, Drucilla sent Lily back to Genoa City, where Neil had become an alcoholic.  At first, Lily hated Genoa City until she met a kindred spirit, Colleen Carlton.  The two girls became very close and Neil cleaned up his act, so Lily adjusted to life in America.

As a teen, Lily tried online dating and met Kevin Fisher.  Kevin was a possessive boyfriend and treated Lily badly.  When Colleen tried to warn Lily, Kevin started a fire at Gina’s restaurant intending to kill Colleen, who was inside.  Kevin was Lily’s first lover and she contracted Chlamydia.

Lily and Kevin’s best friend, Daniel Romalotti fell in love.  They eloped after Lily found out that Malcolm was her biological father.  On the paperwork, she listed Malcolm as her father.  Later, she confronted Drucilla and Neil overheard the truth.  Lily assured him that he would always be her dad, but the relationship between Neil and Malcolm never recovered.  The marriage between Daniel and Lily also dissolved once Lily realized she couldn’t trust Daniel and his porn addiction.

Lily caught the eye of local bartender, Cane Ashby.  Neil liked Cane as an employee, but he didn’t approve of a relationship between his little girl and a much older man.  Lily and Cane fought their attraction for each other for awhile but they ultimately gave in.

Lily and Cane broke up briefly because it was thought that he was the father of Chloe Mitchell’s baby, Cordelia.  Billy came forward as the father and Chloe admitted that she and Cane had never actually had sex, she had drugged him and told him they had sex.  Lily and Cane reconciled and they were married.

Cane had done some lying of his own.  He had everyone believing he was the real Chancellor heir, Phillip Chancellor, III.  The real Phillip showed up and the whole truth was uncovered.  Lily forgave Cane for this lie.  He continued to lie throughout their marriage and she continued to forgive him, even after he allowed her to believe he was killed and he was haunting her.

Lily won a war against cancer, but was unable to conceive.  Mackenzie Browning, granddaughter of Katherine Chancellor, agreed to be a surrogate.  She gave birth to twins Matilda (Matty) and Charlie.

Even though Lily has given him no reason to doubt her loyalty to him, Cane is jealous and possessive.  He insists Lily is too kind-hearted to see peoples’ true intentions.

Lily is, in fact, a very loyal wife and friend.  She loves her children very much as well as her job and she does a good job of juggling the two.  While she does tend to see only the good in people, she is a smart and savvy woman who can have it all in spite of all the tragedy she’s endured.

Y&R Character Description – Esther Valentine

Esther Valentine

Esther

Esther Valentine has been a loyal housekeeper and friend to Katherine Chancellor for many years.  For a short time, Esther worked for Nina after being lured away with promises of a better dress code and equal treatment.  Esther soon found out that working for Katherine wasn’t as bad as she thought, and she returned to the Chancellor estate.

Tired of being lonely, Esther had a one-night stand with Tiny and became pregnant.  She named the baby Kate and asked Katherine to be Kate’s godmother.  As a child, Kate was sent off to school.

Again having the need for male companionship, Esther began dating Norman Peterson.  She pretended to be the lady of the Chancellor estate.  Not wanting to embarrass Esther, Katherine and her husband Rex played along.  Rex caught Norman trying to steal from Katherine and confronted him, who was actually an ex-con.  Rex was shot in the process.

Proving that Esther is quick to trust and has bad luck with men, she, once again, became involved with a man who only wanted to get his hands on the Chancellor fortune.  Katherine was kidnapped and presumed dead, leaving Esther financially secure.  Esther and Roger were married, but he turned out to be married to someone else.  Katherine was reunited with her family.

When the time came for the folks at the Chancellor estate to meet Cane’s new bride-to-be, Esther was surprised to see it was her daughter, Kate, who was now going by the name Chloe.  Chloe had a daughter she named Cordelia.

Realizing Esther’s worth, Katherine promoted her from housekeeper to personal assistant, leaving Esther plenty of time to spend with her granddaughter.

Nicholas “Nick” Newman spent most of his life trying to make his father, business mogul Victor Newman, proud; but it always seemed that Victor held the bar higher for his son than his daughters, Victoria and Abby.  Nick realized that he would never make Victor proud and he no longer cared.  He ventured out on his own and discovered his own passion, which had nothing to do with business.  Nick is the owner of Genoa City’s newest nightclub, “The Underground.”

Nick is not only flaky in his professional life but also in matters of the heart.  He married his first love, Sharon, but strayed more than once.  When he found himself expecting a child with his mistress, Phyllis Summers, he divorced Sharon and married Phyllis.  He cheated on Phyllis with Sharon, and they divorced.  He planned to marry Sharon again, but she chose his brother, Adam.  Nick went back to Phyllis but decided he didn’t want to play her games, so he left her and hooked up with her sister, Avery.  It seems Nick may not have inherited his father’s head for business but they both have wandering hearts.

Nick would do anything to protect his family.  In spite of all the hearts he breaks, he feels the need to protect the women in his life, not the least of which is Summer, the child he conceived out of wedlock with Phyllis.  Summer, who became a beautiful young woman, is prone to mischief and makes foolish decisions in spite of warnings from family and friends.  This could be because Nick refuses to let her grow up.

Though Nick can be callous and hypocritical at times, he has a way of making people love him and forget all the horrible things he’s done.  After all, compared to his brother, Adam, in many ways Nick is a saint.

Lauren Fenmore started out as a young singer in a band with Danny Romalotti.  Besides singing, her favorite thing to do was terrorize poor Traci Abbott.  This went on for years until she met local private detective Paul Williams.  They fell in love and married, but their marriage was full of turmoil.  Later, they divorced and Lauren married a doctor named Scott Granger.  They had a baby together, but a psychotic nurse named Sheila Carter switched the babies and took little Scotty as her own.  Lauren eventually reclaimed her son; but, through the years, Sheila has found ways to cause havoc in Lauren’s life.

Lauren is married to attorney Michael Baldwin, making her the sister-in-law of Kevin Fisher and daughter-in-law of Gloria Bardwell.  Lauren and Michael have a son together, Fenmore.  Lauren owns the upscale department store, Fenmore’s, along with her sister Jill.  She is friends with most people in town and is very well liked and respected.  She seldom gets herself into trouble like her younger self did.  She is often the voice of reason when friends or family aren’t thinking clearly.

Lauren and Michael may seem like a couple that could live through anything, and they have for the most part. Sheila has been gone for several years now, but who knows what kind of mayhem can come from her legacy?

He’s worked his way up the ranks at Jabot and he wants to run a company some day. He is not above betraying his relatives in pursuit of that goal; he teamed up with Victor once to take Jabot from Jack, and when Billy was CEO, Kyle exploited Billy’s gambling addiction in hopes of getting him fired. Y&R Character Description – Kevin Fisher

Kevin Fisher

Kevin

Written By Darlene
on March 13, 2013

We met Kevin when he was an internet predator and he gave Lily Winters Chlamydia.  He tried to kill Colleen Carlton.  Later, he threatened Lauren Fenmore.  Still, he was forgiven by most people and became a decent citizen and business owner.

Kevin grew up in an abusive home.  His father, Terrible Tom Fisher, used to lock him in the closet.  Kevin is now claustrophobic.  Long after he changed for the better, a man named Clint took advantage of Kevin’s state of mind and forced him to rob banks dressed as a chipmunk, something Kevin is reminded of often by some Genoa City citizens like Billy Abbott.

Kevin is married to Chloe Mitchell Fisher, who has made some pretty outrageous mistakes herself.  It is this unpredictable behavior that makes them so interesting.  One or both of them is/are usually cooking up some sort of scheme.

Like most people in Genoa City who’ve turned their lives around, Kevin is close to Katherine Chancellor, whose maid, Esther, is Kevin’s mother-in-law.

Michael Baldwin is Kevin’s brother.  He understands Kevin and why he does the things he does, because Michael witnessed the abuse Kevin endured growing up and he, himself, turned his life around after spending some time in prison.

Kevin Fisher is a young man who has walked the line between right and wrong his entire life.  There is something about him, though, that makes us root for him.  Like Kevin says, maybe he brings out the chipmunk in all of us.

Parents: Tom Fisher and Gloria Baldwin
Spouse: Chloe Mitchell
Children: Bella Fisher

Diane Jenkins tried this but ended up falling head over heels for him. However, Jack decided to marry Patti Williams (Paul’s sister) to show his father that he had grown up. He still saw Diane and even slept with her on the day of his wedding to Patti; Jill set it up so that a pregnant Patti would find Jack and Diane together. This caused her to miscarry. After making plans to move out of the house and have another baby, Patti overheard Jack making plans to have a vasectomy.  Patti was so enraged she shot Jack three times, causing him to become paralyzed. He eventually recovered.

Jack and Victor Newman are long time bitter rivals. Jack married Nikki, Victor’s ex and true love. They had a son together, but he was born prematurely and died.

Diane returned to town and she and Jack were engaged, but Victor stole her away and they were married. In order to keep Victor, Diane stole sperm she thought was Victor’s to enable her to have a child. However, it turned out to be Jack’s sperm so they now have a child, Kyle.

Jack began courting Phyllis Summers to spy on Newman, but he fell in love with her and they were married. He stood by her when she went to trial for arson and trying to kill Diane. Y&R Character Description – Devon Hamilton

Devon Hamilton

Devon

Written By Darlene
on January 21, 2013

Devon Hamilton met Lily Winters while doing community service in Genoa City.  Lily befriended him and introduced him to her parents, Neil and Drucilla Winters.  Devon’s mother, Yolanda, was a drug addict and unable to properly take care of her son.  Drucilla convinced Neil they should become Devon’s foster parents.  They also tried to help Yolanda.  That plan seemed to work until Yolanda misinterpreted Neil’s feelings for her and made a pass at him.  Yolanda left town and Neil and Drucilla adopted Devon.

Devon was diagnosed with meningitis and lost his hearing.  He was given cochlear implants to help.  In spite of his hearing impairment, Devon has a love for music and is very talented.

In 2008, Drucilla fell over a cliff during a scuffle with Phyllis Newman.  Her body was never found, but she was presumed dead.

Devon’s Aunt Tyra and her daughter, Ana, came to town and were welcomed by the Winters family.  Ana has a talent for music, like Devon.

Devon’s great aunt revealed that she isn’t really related to Devon at all and Ana is the daughter of Yolanda, making her his sister.  Tyra explained that she took Ana in because Yolanda was unable to care for her.

By this time, Neil was remarried to Karen, but he and Tyra couldn’t ignore their attraction for each other and had an affair.  Devon was witness to this and became very angry.  As Devon and Tyra argued, they succumbed to passion and had sex.  Devon’s girlfriend, Roxanne, walked in on them and broke up with him for a short time, but he convinced her it wouldn’t happen again.

Katherine Chancellor gave Ana a scholarship to go to school for her singing and Tyra decided to join her.  Tyra and Ana left town but not after damage had been done.  Besides the Devon/Roxanne break up, Karen divorced Neil.

In 2011, it was revealed that Devon’s father was none other than Tucker McCall, who once traveled with rock bands on the road.  Yolanda was a groupie who had a relationship with Tucker.  Yolanda wrote Tucker a note, but she never let him meet his son.  Despite all his resources, he never bothered to search for his child.

Upon realizing that Devon was his son, Tucker wanted a relationship with him.  Yolanda came back to town with a new name, Harmony.  Harmony was clean and sober and wanted to bond with Devon and Ana.  Katherine Chancellor, who was Devon’s new grandmother and an alcoholic herself, took Harmony in and helped her stay sober.  Harmony discovered she was still attracted to Neil and this time he reciprocated.

Devon eventually made peace with Harmony and Katherine, but remained skeptical of Tucker, who seemed to care more about business than family.  Harmony left Genoa City to be closer to Ana in spite of her growing relationships with both Devon and Neil.

Devon found the music business to be very slow in Wisconsin, so he joined Neil, Lily, and Lily’s husband Cane to work at Jabot.

on October 26, 2012

Chloe Mitchell came into this world as Kate Valentine, daughter of Katherine Chancellor’s maid, Esther Valentine.  She was sent to boarding school at a young age.  Several years later, Chloe Mitchell arrived in Genoa City to be a fashion coach for Lily Winters, who won the “Fresh Face of Jabot” contest.

When Chloe found out she was pregnant, she tricked Cane Ashby, Lily’s boyfriend, into thinking he was the father by getting him drunk and staging a “morning after” scene.  Cane married Chloe, and we found out that Chloe really was Kate Valentine.  Billy Abbott returned to Genoa City and, knowing he was the real father of Chloe’s baby, let Cane believe Cane was the father.  The truth finally came to light, though, and Cane got back together with Lily while Billy married Chloe.  Chloe had a daughter they named Cordelia (Delia for short), but the marriage was a disaster.  Billy’s heart belonged to Mackenzie Browning.  Chloe and Billy were divorced and she started dating Billy’s nephew, Chance.  Chloe and Chance became engaged but broke up when he could not contain his feelings for Heather Stevens.  To get even and make Chance jealous, Chloe slept with his half-brother, Ronan Malloy.  Chloe talked Kevin Fisher into letting her move in to his apartment.  They became best friends and eventually lovers.  Kevin and Chloe were married with Delia’s blessing.

Chloe and Kevin have had their ups and downs but value their marriage and friendship.  They are involved in a joint business venture with Adam and Chelsea Newman called TagNGrab, a fashion website.

Chloe is a wise-cracking bundle of energy who brings fun amongst all the drama in Genoa City.  She usually acts before she thinks, but she has matured a lot since returning home with a chip on her shoulder.

While Billy Abbott was in Myanmar, he met a bartender/con artist named Chelsea Lawson.  Seeing that Billy was very drunk, Chelsea seduced him.  Months later, she showed up in Genoa City pregnant with Billy’s baby.  She accused Billy of rape but confessed it was a con, not knowing she was being recorded.  When Chelsea gave birth to a baby boy, she gave up her parental rights.  Billy and Victoria named the baby John and are raising him as their own.

Chelsea befriended fellow outcast, Adam Newman.  He resisted her at first, but finally gave in to his feelings and they started a friendship, then romance, then he proposed marriage.  The couple went back to Adam’s childhood home in Kansas.  Adam’s ex-wife, Sharon Newman, followed them there.  On their wedding day, while Adam was in the shower, Sharon called his phone and Chelsea saw, making her feel insecure.  She had no reason to worry.  Adam told Sharon to leave, that he loved Chelsea.  Going back to Genoa City to live their lives, Adam bought Genevieve Atkinson’s mansion, and Chelsea and Adam decided to start a family.  Chelsea became pregnant and, to get away from stress and Newman drama, the couple decided to go on a “babymoon.”  However, on the way to the airport, they were involved in an automobile accident with Adam’s niece, Summer Newman, and Chelsea lost the baby.

Chelsea is the daughter of Jeffrey Bardwell and Anita Lawson.  She got her talent for conning from Anita. Jeffrey wasn’t in Chelsea’s life growing up.  Both Jeffrey and Anita would like a relationship with Chelsea, but she suspects it is because she is a Newman.

Y&R Character Description – Billy Abbott

Billy Abbott

Written By Darlene
on October 23, 2012

Billy Abbott is the son of Jill Abbott Fenmore and the late John Abbott.  He shares the same father with Jack, Ashley, and Traci.  He shares the same mother with Phillip Chancellor III.   When Jill and John divorced, Billy went away to boarding school and returned as a teenager.  His partying days started then, and he found himself in one predicament after another — alcohol, women, and gambling being his major vices.  He left town again when he found out that his marriage to Mackenzie was invalid because they were first cousins.  Years later, as adults, the two reconciled briefly after finding out they are not related after all.

Billy is the father of Cordelia Abbott, a child he conceived with Chloe Mitchell who was little more than a fling.  He also conceived a child with Chelsea Lawson (now Chelsea Newman).  Billy and his current wife, Victoria Newman Abbott, are raising the baby.  They named him John.

Billy has a way of finding trouble wherever he goes and whatever he does, but he loves his family and he has the best of intentions.  He just can’t get past the need to stick it to his father-in-law, Victor Newman.  The two have had a rivalry for years now.  The fact that Billy is an Abbott, brother of Victor’s nemesis, Jack Abbott, coupled with the fact that Billy is married to Victor’s daughter makes him enemy number one, and Victor has done equally evil things to Billy.  Billy also finds it difficult to pass up a juicy story for his magazine, Restless Style, even when it hurts his family.

In spite of his past and oft bad decisions, one can’t help but root for this lovable playboy.  He adores Victoria and dotes on his children.  He’s the apple of his sisters’ eyes and sometimes the voice of reason for his big brother, Jack.

Parents: John Abbott and Jill Foster Abbott
Children: Cordelia, John and Katherine Abbott
Siblings: Jack, Traci and Ashley Abbott (paternal half-siblings), Phillip Chancellor III (maternal half-brother)
Aunts and Uncles: Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (maternal, half), Snapper and Greg Foster (maternal, adoptive)

During one of Victor’s disappearances, he met a kind, gentle blind woman named Hope Adams.  They fell in love and Victor took Hope back to Genoa City and married her.  When Hope found out she was pregnant,  the couple decided she would bring the baby to term in spite of the fact that the baby could inherit Hope’s blindness.  They named the baby Victor Adam Newman Jr.   Eventually, Hope admitted to herself and Victor Sr. that she wasn’t happy in the city and didn’t want to raise her son there.  She divorced Victor and moved back to Kansas where she married Cliff Wilson.  Years later, on her deathbed, Hope summoned both Victors to her bedside.  She told her son that Victor is not just a nice man, but also his father.  After his mother’s death, Vic now going by Adam, moved to Genoa City.  He was not welcomed with open arms as Nick and Victoria held a grudge against him.

Y&R Character Description – Abby

Abby Newman

Abby

Written by Darlene
on October 19, 2012

When Abby’s mother, Ashley Abbott, returned home pregnant after a lengthy vacation, she told everyone she’d gotten pregnant via sperm donation. Brad Carlton married Ashley and claimed the child as his own. Years later, Ashley was diagnosed with breast cancer. Fearing the worst, she made a video for young Abby revealing Abby’s true paternity — Victor Newman. In spite of the fact that Ashley survived the bout with cancer, Abby saw the video. For years, she considered both Brad and Victor her fathers.

Brad died saving Noah Newman from drowning in the lake near the Abbott cabin. Not long after that, Abby’s half-sister, Colleen, drowned in the very same lake. Since then, she has embraced the Newmans and the Newman name.

Abby’s need for attention was the strongest motivation when she developed the “Naked Heiress.” She pulled many outrageous stunts and gained some fame. The Naked Heiress was a passing fad, but Abby’s need for attention did not subside.

Abby sued Victor for enough money to start her own reality show, but when Victoria got involved, Abby lost control of the situation. The lawsuit that Abby, Victoria, and Nick finally won awarded them each half a billion dollars.

Abby disapproved of Ashley’s marriage to Tucker McCall. She staged a meeting between Tucker and Diane Jenkins, hoping her mother would catch the two having an affair. Instead, Abby lost control of her car and ran Tucker down, leaving him in a coma. Ashley tried to take the blame for it, but Tucker knew the truth. He never pressed charges.

Abby became a reporter for Restless Style when her uncle, Billy, was offered the chance to make his magazine of the same name into a gossip television show.

Parents: Victor Newman (Father), Ashley Abbott (Mother) Brad Carlton (Adoptive Father), Children: Unborn baby girl with Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Miscarriage), Siblings: Victoria, Nick and Adam Newman (paternal half siblings), Colleen Carlton* (adoptive paternal half-sister), Aunts and Uncles: Jack, Traci and Billy Abbott, Eric Vanderway (maternal), Matt Miller (paternal), Cousins: Keemo, Kyle, Delia, Johnny** and Katie** Abbott, Theo Vanderway, Colleen Carlton, Nieces and Nephews: Reed Hellstrom, Johnny and Katie Abbott, Cassie, Noah, Summer, Faith, Connor and Christian Newman

*Colleen and Abby shared a father, Brad and their mothers, Ashley and Traci are sisters, so they were siblings and cousins.

**Katie and Johnny are Abby’s niece and nephew through Victoria and cousins through Billy.
