Elena: Your blood pressure is concerning and so is the pain. We’re gonna do everything that we can to get you more comfortable soon. What else can you tell me about your symptoms?

Sally: Um, my head is killing me and I’m nauseous and I have double vision.

Adam: And, uh, don’t forget about your breath, your oxygen intake.

Sally: Yeah. I’m having trouble catching my breath.

Elena: And has your ob-gyn put you on an anti-hypertensive protocol for preeclampsia?

Sally: Yes. And she told me to take it easy.

[ Sally groaning in pain ]

Adam: Sally. Sally.

[ Sally groaning in pain ]

Elena: Just breathe. Deep breaths. I told cameron to go to hell. What if he hurts faith or worse?

Nick: We’re not gonna let that happen, all right? We gotta stay positive.

Sharon: She has to be okay. She has to be okay, nick.

Elena: It’s an anticonvulsive medication to help lower your blood pressure.

Sally: Is it safe for the baby?

Elena: Yes, it’s safe for both you and the baby, but there is something else.

Sally: What?

Elena: We’re concerned about the severity of your symptoms. They could indicate the possibility of hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes or a low platelet count. And all of these things can be life-threatening to both you and the baby. So with that said, there is a chance that we may have to induce labor. So I didn’t think I needed swiffer.

Sally: It’s way too early for labor. The baby isn’t ready.

Elena: Sally, this is our most viable option. The longer we wait, the higher the risk for you and the baby.

Adam: Whatever the doctor says.

Elena: Adam, can you please excuse us? I’m gonna give sally a quick exam.

Sally: Can you please just call nick and tell him that I’m here and ask him to come?

Adam: I will call him. Just focus on taking care of yourself and our little girl.

Sally: Okay. God, you had no idea what you were getting yourself into when you told him you’d look out for me.

Adam: He didn’t need to ask, sally. I would’ve been here right by your side no matter what.

Sally: You’re the best.

Adam: Just trying to be a good co-parent.

Sally: Am I allowed to be scared now?

Adam: Just a little. Only ’cause the relief will be that much more profound. I’m not going anywhere. I’m gonna be– I’m gonna be right here, okay?

[ Adam sighing ] Just… let them be okay. They don’t deserve this. Do what you want with me, but just leave them alone.

[ Phone ringing ]

Victor: Son, what’s going on?

Adam: Have you spoken to nick? I’ve been trying to get in touch with him.

Victor: He’s dealing with that slime ball cameron kirsten. Why are you looking for him?

Adam: Look, if you talk to him, tell him to give me a call. I don’t care how late it is.

Victor: Wait a minute, son. Is there something wrong with sally and the baby?

Adam: I gotta go.

Elena: Adam.

Adam: How’s sally?

Elena: Situation’s taken a turn.

Adam: What does that mean?

Elena: Sally is unconscious.

Adam: What! What happened?

Elena: The medication isn’t working. Her blood pressure’s too high and she’s at an extreme risk for placental abruption. That is when the placenta separates itself from the inner wall of the uterus. It can be fatal to both her and the baby.

Adam: Fatal?

Elena: Adam, there is no easy way to say this, but if we are to save the baby, we need to take her now. But there is a chance that we could lose sally during the procedure. So I need you to make a choice. Do we save the baby or do we save the mother?

Cameron: You little bitch!

Faith: Is that my mother’s?

Cameron: Faith, you are trying my patience.

Faith: And you’re crazy.

Cameron: What did you say to me? What did you say to me? Don’t you ever say that again. You understand me?

Faith: What is it you expect to get from this? Why are you doing it?

Cameron: It’s destiny, fate, kismet. It doesn’t happen like it does in a book or a movie. Where– where– where it all just comes together in one some kind of a big, big cosmic event. In real life, you’ve gotta– you’ve gotta grab it and you hold it. And the more hopeless it becomes, the harder you work. All I’m doing here is I’m manifesting my destiny and sharon’s because she has forgotten what we mean to each other. Nick, nick got in her head and he turned her against me. And now I need to remind her of how much she loves me.

Faith: I know the men that my mother has loved. You are not one of them. You never will be. If you love her, why are you trying to take her away from her happiness? The life that she has.

[ Rustling ]

Cameron: Sounds like showtime.

Adam: What? You want me to choose between sally and our baby? I can’t make that decision.

Elena: I understand how difficult this choice is. This is where we are.

Adam: Come on. There– there has to be something that you can do. I mean, can’t you– you– you delay the c-section? You could stabilize sally and– and our baby.

Elena: I wish that were the case, but the baby is in distress. And if the placenta removes itself from the uterus, sally could hemorrhage and bleed to death.

Adam: And you want me to decide this right now? Right now, who lives and who dies? No, I can’t do that, okay?

Elena: I am so sorry, but time is of the essence.

[ Adam exhaling ]

Adam: Can I have a few minutes with sally, please? Please.

Elena: Two minutes.

[ Adam sighing ]

Adam: You know, I still remember the first time that I knew for sure that you were gonna turn my life upside down in the best way possible.

Elena: Adam, it’s time. We have to move sally to the or. Have you made a decision? Adam, if you’re not able to make this call, the doctors will.

Adam: Wait!

Victor: Nick? Sharon?

Nikki: My god, what happened here?

Victor: I just got a call from adam. He was rather distraught. He was looking for nicholas and couldn’t get an answer. So, I came by to see if there’s a problem. Obviously, there is.

Nikki: Why was he trying to get ahold of nicholas?

Victor: I bet you it has to do with sally and the baby.

Nikki: Well, the fact that nicholas didn’t respond is concerning.

Victor: And that has to do with cameron kirsten, I bet you. I bet you, okay?

Nikki: Look at this place. What on earth? This. Oh, my god. Victor.

Victor: Son, as soon as you get this message, call me back. I wanna know where the hell you are.

Sharon: Oh, my god. Faith!

Faith: Mom, be careful. Cameron was just here. He’s gotta be close.

Sharon: Or he ran like the coward that he is. Let’s get you out of here. Are you okay? Did he hurt you? Did he touch you in any way?

Faith: I’m okay. But he’s next level insane.

Adam: How is sally? Is she okay?

Elena: It was touch and go, but we got through the worst of it. I was able to stabilize her.

Adam: And, uh, our baby?

Elena: Adam… there was no way to save them both. I’m so sorry.

Victor: Why wasn’t I informed when nicholas and sharon left the premises?

Guard: They went with the rescue team and detective chancellor. With the police involved I didn’t think it was necessary.

Victor: You answer to me. You don’t answer to my son. You don’t answer to the damn cops! You keep me apprised.

Guard: I’m sorry.

Victor: Get the hell out of here. You’re fired! Now!

Nikki: Victor, it’s the sewer system. He’s taken them down there again. No, no, no, no, no, no. Where are you going?

Victor: To look for my son and my granddaughter.

Sharon: Cameron, please, we can resolve this, okay?

Faith: Don’t hurt her.

I’m gonna blow faith into pieces or I’m gonna slit sharon’s throat and we can watch her bleed out. It’s your call. My a1c was up here; now, it’s down with rybelsus.

Sally: You’re here.

Adam: Hey, I told you I wasn’t going anywhere.

Adam: Oh, you had me worried. I even prayed. Well, sort of, but it’s, um, it’s gonna be okay, sally.

Sally: The baby… how is she?

Cameron: Sharon or faith? What’s it gonna be?

Nick: You son of a bitch!

Cameron: Yeah, I am a son of a bitch. But so are you. You took everything from me. My life, my freedom, the woman I love and you lost nothing. You just kept living your life. The golden little rich boy. Well, guess what? I’m tired of losing, nick. It’s your turn. You got 30 seconds and I swear to god I’ll kill them both.

Nick: You hurt either one of them and I promise you, you will not leave this room alive.

Cameron: Oh, come on, man. You don’t think I know how this ends? I’m not walking outta here. But I swear, I am gonna destroy your life before I go. Say a name, nick. Come on, boy. The clock is ticking. Say a name! Say a name or I swear to god I will kill them both! Five, four–

[ Groaning ] God! You bitch!

Chance: Get on the ground! Cameron, get your hands up and on the ground!

Cameron: Sharon.

[ Groaning ] Ow.

Billy: That’s from traci? “Calling a family meeting. No excuses.” You get the same thing?

Adam: Do you need the doctor?

Victoria: I stood my ground with my family and I told them that nick is dealing with too much to focus on work right now. Between sally’s pregnancy and the situation with cameron, I mean there’s no way that he can give his job the attention that it needs. And they said–

Nate: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let me stop you right there. Are you sure you should share what they said with me?

Victoria: I am in charge of what happens at newman enterprises. And besides, this directly involves you, since you’re the one that I hope to lean on.

Billy: Can I grab an earl grey to go, and one of those brownies, please? Thank you.

[ Phone ringing ]

Adam: Hey.

Chelsea: Hey. I’m sorry to call so late. Is this a bad time?

Adam: I’m with sally and she’s sleeping, finally. What’s going on?

Chelsea: I’m not sure. Um, there’s nothing we can do about it tonight, but tomorrow I think we should find someone professional for connor to talk to.

Adam: I thought that he’d improved.

Chelsea: Well, so did I, but lately, I don’t know, he’s been so moody and distant and I’m worried about him. I’d feel a lot better if we could get him some outside help.

Adam: Absolutely. I’ll call you in the morning and we’ll get him the best child psychologist in the state.

Chelsea: Great. Thank you. And I hope everything’s okay with sally.

Adam: Me too.

[ Chelsea sighing ]

Billy: Some earl grey for you and a little something for connor.

Chelsea: You’re the best. But you know, you can take off. There’s no reason for connor to ignore both of us. I can face this rejection on my own.

[ Chelsea sighing ]

Sally: Was that nick?

Adam: No, it was chelsea, calling about connor.

Sally: Is something wrong?

Adam: It’s– it’s nothing for you to worry about. Did I wake you? I was– I was trying to keep my voice down.

Sally: No, no, it’s not you. I’m just too freaked out about nick. I can’t sleep. I– I– I have to get out of this room.

Adam: You’re not going anywhere. get in here?

Cameron: I knew nick would have the whole place surrounded with daddy’s security, so I found a workaround.

Sharon: I was on my way to meet you at the motel like you’d asked.

Cameron: I saved you a trip.

Sharon: Where is faith?

Cameron: You know, this is the first time we’ve been alone in a very long time. I mean without your ex-husband barging in. You’re as beautiful as the day we met. Time hasn’t touched you. Me, on the other hand, I might be a little harder to recognize. I’m– I’m going for recently incarcerated, but still ruggedly handsome.

Sharon: I would recognize you anywhere.

Cameron: Well, I’ll take that as a compliment. I’ve thought about you more than you can imagine. You actually became a part of me. Always with me, here. Just like I’m a part of you.

Sharon: Tell me where faith is.

Cameron: She’s fine, for now. What happens next… that’s up to you. When it comes to your hair, ingredients matter.

Sally: Okay, you can’t keep me here. I’m starving and I need something to eat.

Adam: Okay, well it’s late. What are you in the mood for? And don’t say a burger and fries with hot sauce, okay, because that can’t be doctor recommended. I’ll run out. I’ll get you something healthy. Or you know what, better yet, I’m gonna order you something. I’m gonna have it delivered.

Sally: Look, I’m tired of room service, okay? I’m not on bed rest. The doctor just said I need to take it easy. I can still go out and eat something.

Adam: Okay, be honest. This isn’t about just being hungry.

Sally: I know nick told you something about whatever this guy cameron is trying to pull. That is why you’re watching me like a hawk. Admit it.

Adam: Yes, he asked me to look out for you, but I already do that. So, I’m glad to get his stamp of approval so he won’t barge in here and accuse me of anything.

Sally: Okay, you’re dodging the cameron question, which is making me even more nervous.

Adam: Look, nick, told us that cameron was causing trouble. And he did, he got nick arrested for assault and battery. He already called and told us this. This isn’t news.

Sally: Okay, but this is not what I’m talking about. Something else happened, I know it. That is why nick asked to talk to you. He would not have asked if it wasn’t bad.

Adam: Sally, he was just worried about you, okay? We’re still brothers and we’re both concerned about you and the baby. And if he was to call me again, I would give him my honest opinion: You’re hangry. So, you better tell me what you want to eat or order it yourself because it can’t be healthy to get riled up like this.

Sally: Okay, you know what?

Adam: I’m supposed to be keeping you calm, sally.

Sally: Stop treating me like a child, okay? I’m going out, with or without you.

Adam: Sally.

Sally: You can’t stop me!

Adam: Fine, but you might want to put your shoes on.

Sally: Please. Just tell me if there’s something that I need to know about nick because I cannot stand not knowing and it is making me think the worst.

Sharon: What do you want, cameron? You have my daughter. You’ve sent chance and nick and victor’s security team all over town. Clearly, that was to get me alone. So, here we are. What are you really after?

Cameron: I want the same thing I’ve always wanted, you.

Sharon: Well, here I am. You have my full attention. Let’s talk.

Cameron: Ah, I kinda want a little more than a conversation, sharon.

Sharon: Tell me what it will take then to get faith back.

Cameron: It’s simple. Leave with me tonight, agree to spend the rest of your life with me and faith comes home.

Sharon: You remember the last time that you insisted that we run off together? That didn’t end well.

Cameron: A little worse for me than it did for you, but don’t worry, I don’t blame you for that. I know it wasn’t your fault. Nah, I blame nick. I blame nick, 100%. He just had to stick his nose into our business. But, thankfully, he’s not here tonight. It’s just us. And I know you’ll make the right choice this time. And I know you’ll mean it.

Sharon: You seem so confident. What makes you think that I would do that?

Cameron: Because I wouldn’t feel this connection unless something in you felt it too.

Sharon: Okay, let’s say that that’s true, that we are feeling each other’s feelings, then you would know that you have put me in an impossible situation. You have my daughter. That picture you sent me, you would know that that terrifies me. I can’t be free to think about us unless I know that she’s okay.

Cameron: You need to trust me. I would never hurt your daughter unless I had to.

Sharon: As much as I want to trust you, I cannot consider your request unless I see for myself that faith is all right.

Cameron: You know what? Stop it. I know what you’re doing. I know you’re a therapist now. So, you’re gonna try to get inside my head, you’re gonna try to figure out what I’m thinking and then you’re gonna try to manipulate those thoughts. First of all, good luck with that. Secondly, you wanna know what I’m thinking? Don’t look here, look here. Look into my heart.

Sharon: Why don’t you look into my heart? And you will see that it is full of love and concern for my daughter. It is too full to focus on you.

Cameron: You know what? That’s a load of crap. I may not have a fancy degree, but I know you better than you know yourself. So, how about I tell you what I see when I look into your heart? I see a woman who has resigned herself to being alone. Because every man she has ever known has let her down. Nick, jack, adam, rey. They all let you down and none of them ever loved you the way that I do. Even after you rejected me, landed me in jail, I still wanted you more than anything that I’ve ever wanted in my life. And 20 years in prison didn’t change that. That’s how pure my love is. I tried to let you go, but no other woman was you.

Sharon: I heard about one of those women. You beat her, didn’t you? Just like you beat me. Abuse isn’t love. Hitting someone isn’t love.

Cameron: I don’t know. Maybe… I think I feel things more deeply than other people do and then I act accordingly.

Sharon: How can kidnapping my daughter be love?

Cameron: It was a wake-up call, sharon! Taking faith is the only way I knew to get your attention. To make you realize that deep down you inside, you feel our connection too. And you know what? No amount of shrink talk is ever gonna make me think that we don’t belong together. Because this, this is real and this is unstoppable.

Nate: I’m honored that you’d want to lean on me.

Victoria: Why do you sound surprised?

Nate: Well, you do have nikki and victor is clearly never out of the picture.

Victoria: But it’s you that I want. We’ve been working so well together. You just have this fresh energy and this passion.

Nate: I’m glad you think so. So, is nick definitely taking a leave of absence? Because your parents sounded like they were against it.

Victoria: No, they understand that nick has too much on his plate right now. That he needs to step back while this crisis is dealt with. They just don’t want to call it an official leave of absence, but that’s what it will be. And my mom and I are gonna have to take over nick’s responsibilities, so I’m gonna need you to back me up. Unless… if you’re not up for it, then–

Nate: Of course I am. I’m here to support you however you need.

Victoria: That’s why I know you’re gonna do great. Because you’re ambitious. I know you’re gonna put in the hard work and you’re gonna reap the benefits. You’re exactly what newman needs. What I need.

Nate: That’s all true, but you forgot to mention that I would support you because I respect and admire you. And I care about you. My attraction to you is as mental and emotional as it is physical. I hope you know that.

Victoria: Well, let’s just say, it’s unlikely that audra and I are gonna become best friends any time soon. I’m fine with that. She needs to have her full focus on newman media, especially because adam has delusions of coming after his old company using mccall.

Nate: I’ve been thinking about that. I think we should be proactive.

Victoria: I couldn’t agree with you more.

Nate: Instead of waiting to play defense against a mccall attack…

Victoria: We make sure that mccall never gets strong enough for adam to make that move in the first place.

Adam: Are you trying to blackmail me into taking you out?

Sally: I am not above it.

Adam: Look, I swear I have nothing to tell you about nick.

Sally: Look, the whole reason that nick asked for you to watch out for me is so that I do not get stressed out, but keeping me cooped up in here is totally stressing me out.

Adam: I am doing what’s best for you and the baby. You’re not going to win this argument.

Sally: Please. Okay, nick is out there protecting sharon and faith from some psycho and you are the one who told me that he has a bad temper and he reacts with his fists. So, if you really want me to relax, you will let me out of here so I don’t have to think about that. I will sleep for ten hours if you do.

Adam: You– you– you’re impossible.

Sally: You’re not gonna win this.

[ Adam sighing ]

Adam: Twelve hours and you don’t leave my sight.

Sally: Eleven. And you’re buying dinner. Excuse me.

Adam: Where do you think you’re going?

Sally: Now what?

Adam: I don’t care what you say. You’re not going out without these.

Chelsea: Connor, what are you doing here?

Cameron: Oh, please. You expect me to believe that you’re satisfied slinging coffee and pastries for genoa city’s brain dead elite? Having to listen to their never-ending problems?

Cameron: You’re better than that. You know it and I know it. You come with me, you will never have to make another mocha latte or listen to some sad sack drone on about their– their unresolved trauma.

Sharon: I’m listening to you right now, aren’t I? Trying to figure out what brought you to this point? Why you think we have a future?

Cameron: You brought me here. Our connection brought me here. Why can’t you accept that? Sharon, my sole purpose in life right now is to make you happy and I will never ever let you down the way that nick has over and over again.

Sharon: Nick has nothing to do with this.

Cameron: Ah, come on. I– I– I think the therapist might need a little bit of therapy. Now, I know it’s hard for you to trust a man after you’ve been let down so many times, but honey, nick is the problem. He’s the reason for your unhappiness.

Cameron: Okay, you know what? I am tired of talking about other people. First, it was nick, then it’s faith. There’s only two people here that I want to talk about and that’s you and me. And if those other people are too distracting, then trust me, I will remove the distraction. – You like that bone?

Nate: So, you want to hear my thoughts on mccall?

Victoria: Right now, that’s all I want.

Nate: Well, I’ve been looking at the company and I think we should go after their biggest weaknesses first. I’ve made a list of the divisions I think we can take a run at.

Victoria: Yeah, that all looks great. I think we should put audra on that. It will give her a set of targets to keep her hungry mind busy. But uh, you missed their biggest achilles heel.

Nate: Really? I thought my analysis was thorough.

Victoria: Of the divisions, sure, but adam is their weakest link.

Nate: Right, right, adam. And I’m sure you have the inside track on getting the upper hand there.

Sally: I want every dish on here, but all I can hear is my doctor warning me about my blood pressure or nick reminding me about heartburn.

Adam: Well, I’m sure we can find something acceptable. I mean, how about a caesar salad with chicken?

Sally: I can’t have the dressing, raw eggs.

Adam: Really? I did not know that. Then, a house salad.

[ Sally sighing ]

Sally: That sounds boring, so it’s probably fine.

Adam: No texts or calls from nick?

Sally: No, and I’m dying to call him, but I know that I can’t bother him on whatever secret mission he’s on, so I guess tonight is all me about wanting things that I can’t have. Do you know how much that stinks?

Adam: I have some idea, yes. Look, I’m sure that we can find something appetizing for both you and the baby. So, let’s figure it out. What is she craving?

Sally: Anything with hot sauce.

Adam: Well, what does that say about her? Other than the fact she’s like her mother.

Sally: This little girl is spicy and we should be terrified of her.

Adam: Well, I’m not easily scared. But as long as she has the best of you and my mother, she will be perfect.

Sally: I wish you would stop doing that.

Adam: Doing what?

Sally: Implying that she becomes nothing like you. Look, I want her to inherit the best of her entire family tree and that includes you and me, and hope and my great aunt sally and my gramps and coco and nick and victoria and maybe even victor.

Adam: Nah.

Sally: No.

Adam: No.

Sharon: Threatening my daughter’s life, how is that love? You prove to me that you care about me. Take me to faith.

Cameron: That is enough! Sharon, I am telling you. You just stop– just stop pushing me. How dare you? How dare you treat me like this when I’m standing in front of you opening a vein!

Sharon: Nick and chance will be here any minute. Victor’s security team is crawling all over this property. There’s no way out for you.

Cameron: Nick’s not coming. I called him from upstairs just after he left. I told him he had 20 minutes to get to where faith was if he wanted to save her. So, I wouldn’t expect him to show up any time soon to rescue you. I think he understood the urgency.

Sharon: What if he doesn’t get there in time?

Cameron: Well, let’s hope he doesn’t let you down again. Now, as for your other threats, I think we both know they’re empty. Right now, chance is going through that garage, and half of victor’s team is probably on their way to stake out the motel and the other half is with nick.

Sharon: And that suitcase? You left that in your hotel room for us to find then? You knew that we would and we’d find the deed to that abandoned garage and we would assume that faith was there.

Cameron: I was worried it was a little too obvious, but anyway, obvious or not, chance would have to follow that lead, so it was a win-win strategy.

Sharon: And the message for me to meet you in the motel room?

Cameron: I knew that chance or nick would insist on going with you with the backup. So, they’d have to leave early to get it all set up.

Sharon: Leaving me alone in the house. You’ve had this in the works for a long time.

Cameron: Months. So, you said I was trapped, but the truth is, there’s no way out of this for you.

Sharon: I’ll do whatever you want, cameron. I’ll do whatever you want. Just please let faith go. Let faith go. That’s me before dawn powerwash.

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue. And we’re done.

Elena: Well, isn’t this cozy?

Nate: Hello, elena.

Elena: I guess at least you’re not keeping it a secret anymore.

Nate: I hope you don’t plan on making a scene like you did in L.A.

Elena: Right. Because it was my fault things turned ugly.

Nate: Look, if you want to talk to me, in private–

Elena: I don’T. But that scene in L.A. That you were talking about, that was back when I was naive enough to love you, trust you and even respect you. I guess I learned that lesson the hard way. You know, I always thought you were intelligent, but here you are falling for two users in a row. First, ashland, and now his best man.

Victoria: I don’t see the similarity.

Elena: Yeah, I guess that is your blind spot. But I can see it clearly. They are both happy to be with you as long as they get what they want, but once they don’t, you better watch out.

Connor: I know that I’ve been a jerk to you too. And johnny. I’m sorry.

Billy: Connor, you don’t have to worry about that, okay? I understand and johnny understands. You’ve got a lot on your plate right now. Sometimes, we get overwhelmed and we get a short fuse. It happens to the best of us.

Chelsea: No one is angry with you. We’re just worried. Do you understand the difference?

Connor: Yeah.

Chelsea: Okay. So can you talk to us? Can you tell us what’s going on?

Billy: Does this mood have anything to do with the baby? Yeah.

Connor: I’m sorry about how I’ve been acting, but you don’t have to worry about me anymore. I’m getting used to the idea that dad and sally are having a baby, that I’ll have a sister.

Chelsea: Well honey, it’s a lot to deal with. I mean, these are some grownup feelings you’re having. But the good thing is you don’t have to go through it alone.

Connor: I know, I’ve got you.

Chelsea: Of course you do, but not just me. You know, there might be times that you might want to vent about me or vent about your dad and that’s okay. You’re allowed to do that. So, your dad and I are thinking, maybe it’s time for you to talk to a therapist like I do. So we can find you somebody tomorrow, a professional to talk to.

Connor: No. I don’t need to talk to anyone else. I just need you.

Chelsea: Oh.

[ Chelsea exhaling ] Sweetheart.

Adam: Hey, I wanted to ask you, have you given any more thought to baby names?

Sally: Yeah, only every waking minute.

Adam: Well, not to overstep, but I was wondering if you might consider the name hope.

Sally: That would mean a lot to you, wouldn’t it?

Adam: It would. But no pressure. And you know, not a first name. Maybe a middle name?

Sally: It’s beautiful. And I think we should absolutely add it to the list. But I don’t really wanna choose just yet. I don’t know, call it superstition, but would you mind if maybe we waited to have this discussion closer to the due date?

Adam: Mm-hmm. Sure. But it’s going to sneak up on us faster than we know.

Sally: I know and I… I’m terrified.

Adam: What– what part?

Sally: All of it.

Adam: You know, I really wish that I could convince you that you are going to be a wonderful mother. This kid is blessed. Even with nick in the picture.

Sally: Very funny.

[ Sally grunting ]

Adam: What– what is it? What is it?

Sally: Oh, I don’t know.

[ Sally panting ]

Cameron: I’ll let faith go as soon as we’re far away from genoa city.

Sharon: Okay, you win, cameron. I’ll go with you. Because I need my daughter to be safe. But you– you have to promise me that she will be okay.

Cameron: And you have to trust me. I would never hurt your child.

Sharon: All right then. Where are we going?

Cameron: It’s a surprise.

Sharon: How about a hint so that I know what to pack?

Cameron: And ruin the fun? You don’t have to pack anything. We’re starting over. I’ll buy you all new things.

Nick: She’s not going anywhere with you. You get your hands off her!

Sharon: Nick!

[ Nick grunting ] Nick! Nick!

[ Punches thudding ] Even when I was with the people I love,

Sharon: Nick, stop! Stop it! He’s not worth it! I’ll just do what he says. Just get off of him.

Nick: Just go and get help.

[ Cameron shouting ]

Cameron: Get up. Get up.

[ Both grunting ]

Sharon: Help! Security! We need help! Help! Nick.

Cameron: We need to go.

Sharon: You go to hell.

Cameron: I warned you. I have your child. I have your child, sharon!

Sharon: Nick! Oh, my gosh, nick. Are you okay? Are you okay? Come, wake up.

Nick: We get him?

Sharon: Cameron got away, he said he has faith.

Nick: What?

Sharon: He’s got, faith. He says he’s got faith.

Nick: Where– where’d he go?

Sharon: He’s upstairs.

Nick: Okay.

Nate: Elena, please–

Victoria: Nate, uh, I can handle this. Look, I don’t want to argue, I really don’T. You’re saying hurtful things because you’ve been hurt, but trust me, in time, the pain will fade and then maybe you won’t feel the need to verbally assault people in public.

[ Elena chuckling ]

Elena: Whoa. I think you’ve been a newman princess for far too long if you think that was an assault. Those were just facts.

Nate: Don’t do this.

Elena: Good for you, nate. Finally protecting something. You know, I’m glad the two of you are together because I can already see the future. You are gonna use each other up and then burn each other down to the ground. It’s gonna really be fun to watch. Enjoy your evening.

Connor: Thanks for the brownie.

Billy: You are very welcome.

Chelsea: The way he devoured that, you’d think I didn’t feed this kid dinner.

Connor: I’m ready to go to bed now.

Billy: Bed? Geez, I should’ve gotten you something with a little less sugar.

Connor: It won’t keep me up.

Chelsea: That’s true actually. I saw him eat a whole bag of halloween candy once and he went straight to bed. Okay, come on. I’ll go up with you.

Connor: I can go myself. And yes, I’ll brush and floss.

Billy: Impressive. Do me a favor. Talk to johnny about that oral hygiene thing. He just fights me on it every night.

Connor: Sure. If you want, but I doubt hell listen to me. Goodnight. Love you.

Chelsea: I love you. Why am I more worried now than ever?

Adam: Let’s get you to the hospital, okay? Do you think that you can walk?

Sally: Oh, I don’t know.

Adam: Come, come, come.

[ Sally panting ]

Sally: What? Oh, what’s happening?

Adam: It’s okay, all right. We’ve got this. We’re gonna get help and everything is gonna be okay. I promise. Come on.

Sally: Okay.

[ Sally grunting ]

Adam: Come on. It’s okay.

Nick: Cameron got away.

Sharon: What? How is that possible? He ran upstairs. I’ve been down here the whole time. He didn’t get past me.

Nick: It’s crazy, it’s like he disappeared, but then I figured it out. The bastard made a hole in the closet of noah’s old room.

Sharon: What?

Nick: It’s how he got in, sharon. He came in through the walls.

Sharon: He was covered in dirt when he got here. Oh, my god.

Nick: He must have tunneled under the house. That’s how he evaded ranch security. It’s how he came in and poisoned the cat and placed the bug and got you alone.

Sharon: And now he got away. Oh, my gosh, he could be anywhere right now.

Nick: I know. We’re gonna find him.

Sharon: You didn’t see the look on his face. He knows that I despise him. He knows that his perfect plan didn’t work and he said that he has faith. He’s headed to her right now. We have got to stop him!

Nate: I’m sorry for elena’s behavior. It was out of line and frankly, not like her.

Victoria: Don’t apologize, okay? I– I meant what I said. I get it, elena’s hurt.

Nate: It doesn’t mean she has to treat you like that. It’s me she hates.

Victoria: I don’t take it personally, I don’T. I mean, she thought that the two of you had something real and now she knows that that’s not true. I’ve been through that. It’s– it’s like a punch in the gut.

Nate: It’s my fault. I should’ve broken things off earlier.

Victoria: Well, just think of it this way. Now, she’s free to find the right person.

Nate: I hope so. I do wish that for her. Because I know what that feels like now. I’m exactly where I want to be.

Adam: Elena! Thank god. Can you uh– can you help us?

Elena: Hey. What’s going on?

Adam: Uh, we were at society when her pain came on. It was sudden.

Elena: Okay, sally what are your symptoms?

Sally: I just have a headache and this pain in my right side.

Elena: Okay, have you ever felt that before?

Sally: No, just my headaches.

Adam: And her– her O.B. Said that she was at risk for preeclampsia and ordered her to rest.

Elena: Okay. Let’s get you to have a seat and we’re gonna get you admitted okay?

Sally: Oh, god! Oh, what is happening? I’m afraid it’s my– oh, it’s my baby. Please help me.

Elena: Okay, I’m gonna go get a triage nurse. Excuse me.

Sharon: He has faith, nick. He has our baby.

Nick: We’re gonna get her back, all right? It’s gonna be okay. We’ll get her home safe and sound.

Sharon: He… he… he wants to meet me at the motel. Same room. Midnight.

Nick: That is not happening. I will go in your place.

Sharon: He wants me alone. I have to go, nick. It’s the only way.

Nick: Why would I ever allow you to go and meet up with him on your own?

Sharon: Because this.

Lily: Hey. What’s going on?

Daniel: Oh, nothing. Just sitting here trying to enjoy an adult beverage and contemplating life’s mysteries.

Lily: Okay, well you sounded really upset on the phone. Is everything okay? Is it– is it phyllis?

Daniel: It’s always phyllis.

Lily: What happened? I mean, I knew you were afraid that she was gonna get arrested. Did she get arrested?

Daniel: No. Not yet. But I am afraid that the next time I see my mom or my sister, they’ll both be behind bars.

Summer: Oh. I thought I heard kyle come in.

Diane: No, just me.

Summer: Uh, well, I’m sure that he’s already told you, but I… I want you to hear it from me too. It’s– it’s true. I’ve known that my mom is alive for… a while now, so. Go ahead. Let me have it. I know that you want to.

Diane: I’ve already forgiven you.

Kyle: All of the times that you ran off without an explanation, and lame ones at best, you were going to see phyllis, weren’t you? When were you going to tell me what you’ve been hiding? What the hell, summer? You lied about something that directly affected all of our lives for months. How could you do that? You could have cleared my mother’s name and set her free. You could have gotten her out of that god awful place, but instead, you decided to sit back and do nothing!

Summer: Kyle, you gotta believe me. I was trying to figure out how to keep both of our moms out of prison. I only kept quiet to buy time. To bring my mom home safely. That’s it.

Kyle: No, I am sorry, summer. I can’t accept your justifications. You were only thinking about you and your mother.

Summer: No, I was– I was trying to do what was right for everyone.

Kyle: No, stop, stop, stop. You have to own up to your actions here. You weren’t just sitting back and watching my mother suffer. You watched me suffer.

Summer: I was suffering lying to you, kyle. It was torture for me.

Kyle: No, and you were so damn good at it. You lied repeatedly to my face!

Audra: Is that seat taken? Want to get him involved.

Nick: I’m gonna go this motel and rip cameron apart with my bare hands.

Sharon: Nick, we need to think this through. This is cameron. You know how careful we need to be.

Nick: This psychopath has kidnapped our daughter. She is bound and gagged and probably terrified out of her mind. I need to go and pound him into the ground until he gives us our daughter back alive and well!

Sharon: You cannot go charging over there like a bull in a china shop! You might put faith in more danger!

[ Door knocking ]

Victor: Sharon, this is victor.

Nick: You’re right. I’m not going to go alone. I’ll get dad’s security team to back me up.

Sharon: I thought you didn’t want to get him involved.

Nick: We need all the help we can get. Dad, I’m glad you’re here.

Victor: What happened?

Nick: I need your help.

Victor: With what?

Nick: Cameron has faith.

Victor: What?

Nick: Let me see the phone.

Victor: How did this happen? With all the security I provided, how did this happen?

Nick: We’ll worry about that later. Right now, we need to focus on getting faith back. Will your security team provide me with some backup?

Victor: Of course. I’ll get you an army to get her back. How the hell did this happen?

Sharon: Okay, stop it, the both of you. You cannot go storming over there all fired up for battle. That could be the most dangerous thing you would do. Do– you read his message. I need to be the one to go. I have got to be the one to face cameron. Alone. Gala.

Kyle:

Audra: Kyle, right? Audra charles. We met at the gala.

Kyle: Uh, yeah. You’re the one who found my phone. Thanks again.

Audra: Yeah, I wasn’t sure if you’d remember, considering everything.

Kyle: Seems like a lifetime ago.

Audra: Yeah, I can imagine your memories of that night are pretty difficult given what happened to your wife’s mother, or should I say, didn’t happen. Rumors of her demise were greatly exaggerated. I guess it depends on what rumors you want to believe.

Kyle: Mm. Well, I would normally advise you not to believe any rumors, but… in this case, they might all be true.

[ Nick sighing ]

Audra: So, phyllis summers faked the whole thing and is actually alive?

Kyle: I’m sorry, audra. You seem very nice, but I’m not in the business of discussing my personal life with total strangers.

Audra: Oh. I get it. Though, in my experience, sometimes it’s a total stranger you most need to talk to. Their perspective is so much clearer. It’s not prejudiced with preconceived notions about a person or a situation. It’s no judgement. It’s kind of like with bartenders, you know? People will tell them everything because they’re just there to innocently listen.

Kyle: Well, that’s very kind of you, but I think I’m just gonna–

Audra: I promise I’m a very good listener.

Summer: Uh, maybe you haven’t heard the whole story.

Diane: Are you trying to talk me out of forgiving you?

Summer: No. I just think that once you know everything, you might regret your decision.

Diane: Why don’t you tell me the whole story? What is it that you think I don’t know about yet?

Summer: Look, I know that keeping this secret has really hurt kyle and you, of course. I could have gotten the charges against you dropped way sooner, but I didn’T. Instead, I ch– chose to protect my mom at your expense.

Diane: I’m well aware of that.

Summer: And what? You’re– you’re okay with what I did?

Diane: No. No, no, no. No. You let me sit in jail with my life hanging in the balance over utterly false charges. I am not okay with that. But, I do understand why you did it.

Summer: You do.

Diane: Yes. I realize that you were put into an impossible situation with no easy solution. Trust me, summer. I’m not playing games here. This is how I feel and I’ll even take it a step further. I’m going to do everything in my power to convince kyle to forgive you too.

Summer: You would do that? After everything that has happened? Wow. Thanks, diane.

Diane: Oh, no thanks necessary. I really– I really can’t stand to see you and kyle torn apart over this, and god knows you shouldn’t be blamed for something that was clearly not your fault.

Summer: It’s all my fault. I’m responsible.

Diane: Well, yes, but we all know that phyllis manipulated you into keeping you quiet. I mean, it was her psychotic plan that caused all this trouble in the first place, so if anyone is to blame–

Summer: Okay, hold on, diane. Please, please, do not turn this into an attack against my mom.

Nick: There’s no way I’m letting you face this bastard on your own.

Victor: Sharon, think about it for a moment. This is too dangerous. He may be setting a trap for you.

Sharon: I don’t doubt that it is a trap.

Nick: Wait, you realize that, but you’re still willing to walk right into his web?

Sharon: He has faith and we have no idea where. It terrifies me to think what he might do to her. He might have somebody else watching her, just waiting for a word to do her harm and I know that he’s thought this through. Every angle. He’ll have taken precaution.

Nick: Then we do the same.

Sharon: He’s methodical in his madness and we cannot take that risk with faith’s life.

Nick: Still, I just– I cannot fathom the idea of you being alone with him.

Victor: I agree with nicholas, but if you do– I think it’s an insane idea, but if you do, you’ve got to arm yourself.

Sharon: That could be the trigger that sets him off. We have to got to be careful not to push him to go to a more dangerous place. He’s already delusional enough to think that I might fall in love with him. Nick, isn’t that what he said to you?

Nick: Yeah, and I actually think that he believed it.

Sharon: All right. If that’s the case, and he is that delusional to think that we could be together and we have some future together, cameron is not planning on hurting me, but that wouldn’t be true of anybody else who goes after him… which means that I am the only one who has the power to control the situation.

Daniel: Right?

Lily: Thank you.

Daniel: Honestly, I don’t know what to do. Summer’s desperate to keep mom out of prison and she’s willing to go to any lengths necessary.

Lily: Well, it sounds like summer. And your mom.

Daniel: Right? The problem is, summer wants me to help her do it.

Lily: Do what? Try and keep your mom out of prison? I mean, you can’t turn back time. What’s done is done.

Daniel: Exactly. Meanwhile, mom wants me to do whatever it takes to keep summer out of it.

Lily: Well, how are you supposed to do that?

Daniel: I don’t know. I don’t know. Maybe she’ll finally do the right thing.

[ Lily chuckling ]

Lily: Well, why would she start now?

Daniel: It’s a good point. Especially if it means turning herself in. I can’t see that happening. In fact, it’s the opposite.

Lily: What do you mean?

Daniel: Mom is on the run again. So, even if I wanted to turn her in, I can’t now.

[ Lily sighing ]

Lily: Daniel, I’m really sorry you’re stuck in the middle of this.

Daniel: Hm.

Lily: But to be honest with you, as someone who’s actually been to prison, it might not hurt for phyllis to do some time.

Diane: Summer, I’m not attacking phyllis. I just think it’s clear who’s to blame for the nightmare we’ve all been going through.

Summer: I agree. It is clear. This was all a part of stark’s master plan. He’s the one who started all of this trouble to begin with.

Diane: Well, I guess, technically, that’s true.

Summer: You know what? If you wanna go all the way back to try to place blame, how did we even hear stark’s name in the first place? I think it was you that brought him into our lives, diane.

Diane: Oh, wait a minute. I’m not the one who invited him to town.

Summer: But you’re the one who had history with him. You’re the one that burned him. Everything is unintended consequences.

Diane: Unintended consequences? Summer. Summer, we’re getting way off track here. Yes, this plan was the work of jeremy stark, but he could not have faked phyllis’ death without her full participation and it is naive to think that your mother is somehow innocent in all of this.

Summer: No, my mom didn’t do any of this on her own. She was coerced and threatened and maybe even blackmailed into doing what she did.

Diane: Is that what phyllis is telling you? That she was blackmailed into that performance at the gala?

Summer: Diane, you were the one who brought stark to town and maybe you didn’t commit murder, but you’re not innocent and I’m not ever gonna let myself forget that.

[ Diane sighing ]

Nick: All right, sharon. All right. If you insist with on meeting with cameron alone, you’re gonna take some precautions.

Sharon: Like what?

Nick: First, you’re gonna go in there with some backup and that includes me.

Sharon: He said to come alone, nick. Cameron said.

Nick: No. We will keep our distance so we don’t alert cameron. Your team can manage that, right, dad?

Victor: One second. I just found the number of a special ops guy whose specialty is rescue missions.

Nick: All right. Set it up. Let’s go.

Victor: I’ll call him right now.

Nick: Thanks, dad.

Victor: Sharon… thank you. You’re risking your life to save my granddaughter. I’ll never forget it.

Nick: Takes a lot of courage to do what you’re doing. I still hate this plan, but cameron is crazy. He’s already in your head, he’s got our daughter’s life in his hands. He knows where you’re most vulnerable.

Sharon: Of course I’m vulnerable where my child is concerned. I’m so afraid for her right now, I could scream. I know first hand what cameron is capable of. It’s taken everything inside of me not to fall apart. And the thought of facing him again? Makes me sick to my stomach, but I don’t have time for that, nick.

[ Sniffling ] Our baby doesn’t have time.

Audra: Something like tha

Audra: Thank you.

Kyle: So… you wanna be my bartender, audra?

Audra: Something like that.

Kyle: Well, I have simone over there, who is an actual bartender and she makes the perfect old fashioned and I have to say, she’s probably a much more innocent listener than you are.

Audra: Oh. What are you getting at, hm?

Kyle: I’m just a little weary. I don’t know what you’re really after.

Audra: You don’t think it’s possible that I’m just a sounding board? Someone you can talk to who won’t judge?

Kyle: Hm. I get the feeling I should keep my guard up around you. From what I’ve heard, you have ambitions.

Audra: Oh, wow, kyle. Some people say that my ambitions are my best quality.

Kyle: Well, that may be, but I don’t know if I can confide in an ultra achiever like yourself. I’ve heard you’ll do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Audra: Hm. You heard things about me? I’m flattered. But you’re right. I do consider myself an achiever. I’ve successfully made a mark for myself wherever I’ve gone.

Kyle: Including with my brother-in-law, noah newman.

Audra: Brother-in-law.

Kyle: Hm.

Audra: Right. Uh… that’s all in the past now. You know, he’s moved on and found happiness and I moved on as well.

Kyle: But have you found happiness?

Audra: Have you? Hm. You look like you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.

Kyle: How about this? I finish my drink and you talk while I listen?

Audra: I’m game. What do you want me to talk about? Look, I am well versed in a variety of topics. Some important and weighty, and some just downright ridiculous.

[ Kyle laughing ]

Kyle: Well, how about you tell me more about yourself?

Audra: Okay.

Kyle: How did you end up here in genoa city?

Audra: Since you asked, um, I came here working for tucker mccall until I zigged to a brief stint with chancellor-winters. And then, I zagged to newman media where I found my true self working with nate hastings. I think I found my home there.

Kyle: So, ultra achiever, where do you go from newman media?

Audra: Well, I’m happy where I’m at, but I’ll see what opportunities present themselves. Ambition is not a dirty word to me, kyle.

[ Kyle chuckling ] In fact, you know, I think, um, some people are afraid of their own desires. It’s like… they’re ashamed to admit how badly they want something.

Kyle: Are you sure we’re still talking about jobs?

Audra: Mm. You tell me.

Mariah: Thank you so much. Hi, summer. You know, I was actually hoping to run into you. I was wondering if you got the bouquet that tessa and I sent? The flowers for phyllis’ memorial?

Summer: Yeah. They were beautiful, thanks.

Mariah: So, what do you do now? Now, do you just send all those flowers back to people? Because it was all a big lie? Or… what happens?

Summer: Mariah, I really just wanted to get some chamomile tea without all the attitude, so if I could just do that, please.

Mariah: Oh, yeah. No, I can’t see that happening, but you can take this with your chamomile. What in the hell were you thinking?

Summer: I’m not in the mood for this right now.

Mariah: You know, I’ve never had an especially high opinion of you, but even I was surprised that you could keep phyllis’ secret, knowing how deeply it would affect diane and kyle.

Summer: You know what? What would you have done if sharon was the one that needed protecting? Especially after you went the trauma of thinking that you lost her forever? Yeah, it’s really easy to judge when you haven’t been through it yourself.

Mariah: I suppose if sharon had been the one that I thought I lost forever, then yes, I would do anything to keep her safe and close.

Summer: Okay. Exactly. That’s– that’s exactly what I did. I’m glad that you see my point of view.

Mariah: I– I can see it, but I still do not agree with what you did.

Summer: Can I ask you a question? And depending on the answer, I might ask you a favor.

Nick: We are going to get faith back. I promise you that. She’s gonna be fine.

Sharon: I know she will. She has to be. Nothing will happen to her and we’ll have her home in no time, right?

[ Door knocking ]

Nick: Who’s there?

Chance: Chance. Hey.

Nick: Hey.

Chance: What’s wrong? Did something happen?

Sharon: It’s faith.

Nick: Cameron has her.

Sharon: He’s demanding that I meet him at the motel we met at years ago and to come alone.

[ Chance exhaling ]

Chance: Okay. Thank you for not keeping this from me. You guys can’t handle this on your own.

Nick: We have to find her.

Sharon: Our poor baby. She must be terrified. Please tell me you can help us find her.

Chance: I did find something at the athletic club. Kirsten left behind a satchel with some papers inside of it, one of which was a deed to some property on the outskirts of town.

Nick: What kind of property?

Chance: It’s an old, abandoned garage off birchwood.

Sharon: And he owns the building?

Chance: According to the deed.

Nick: Which means that he has had this plan in the works for quite a while. And that property is very close to the motel where he wants to meet up with sharon.

Sharon: So, what do you think? Is that where he’s keeping faith?

Daniel: So, you think

Daniel: So, you think my mother should go to jail?

Lily: I just think that it might benefit phyllis to have some time alone to face the consequences of her actions and realize how much she’s hurt the people she loves.

Daniel: You’ve seen the inside of a cell, but she could be looking at decades.

Lily: I know. I know that my experience was short, but it changed my life. It gave me a completely different perspective on things.

Daniel: Yeah, lily, but prison. I mean, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, much less my own mother.

Lily: I know, I know. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying it’s amazing, right? Like, obviously it’s hard. I mean, there were days that I wasn’t sure I was gonna make it through, but I did and I came out a better person for it.

Daniel: You were kind of an okay person before that.

Lily: Look. I know that my experience is the exception to the rule, okay? I know that not everyone comes out of prison saying, you know, “oh, that was amazing. I learned so much.” But I did. And you know what? It might be good for phyllis to get a different perspective on things. To see women who are facing struggles much harder than she is, right? Far harder than “I’m living in a town with somebody that I hate.”

[ Daniel sighing ]

Mariah: So, you wanna ask me for a favor. What kind?

Summer: Uh, I assume that kyle has vented to you about how upset he is with me.

Mariah: Mm-hmm. For the record, he was far more gracious than I would’ve been were I in his shoes.

Summer: That’s nice to hear that he’s not publicly trashing me, but I know that privately, he is livid.

Mariah: Are you about to ask me what I think?

Summer: I’m not gonna speculate what goes on in your head.

Mariah: I hope you’re not expecting me to take phyllis’ side in all of this because actually, I encouraged kyle to go to the police with everything that he knows, so.

Summer: No, I don’t– I don’t expect that. I just want to know if… if you’re on my side, mine and kyle’s as a couple.

Mariah: Ooh.

Summer: Mariah, do you still believe all of those loving and supportive things that you said at our vow renewal? Do you believe that we belong together?

Mariah: I see where you’re going with this. You want me to convince kyle to forgive you. Are you serious, summer? I mean, you’ve– you’ve gotta be kidding me. Are you willing to take accountability for any of your actions? That’s actually incredible impressive.

[ Summer exhaling ]

Summer: This was a mistake. I should not have tried to talk to you. Obviously, you’re never gonna see me any differently than how you always have.

Kyle: Thanks, audra.

Audra: For what? I don’t remember doing anything.

Kyle: For giving me something else to think about other than my own problems for a little while.

Audra: You certainly pulled a fast one. I have to admire that.

Kyle: How so?

Audra: Well, you got me talking about myself when I was trying to get you to do the same. Maybe next time.

Kyle: Maybe.

Audra: But, if I was able to cheer you up, even a little bit, I’ll consider the night a success.

Kyle: Well, then. Congratulations. Have a good rest of your night.

Audra: And you do the same.

Sharon: Right there. There’s a pile of tires. That’s where she is. He’s keeping her there. It’s the garage on birchwood.

Nick: Where’d you say you found that bag at cameron’s?

Chance: In his room, behind the sofa. Why? What are you thinking?

Nick: It’s too convenient. It’s too easy.

Sharon: Another trap?

Nick: It’s possible, but somebody does need to go to check this place out, just in case faith is there.

Chance: I’m on it. I’ll take a small team with me. You two need to stay put, okay? Do not go to that motel. It’s too dangerous and you don’t know what he has waiting in there for you. I sent that picture to myself. I’ll let you know what I find.

Sharon: Thanks, chance.

Nick: Yes. We appreciate everything we’re doing to find our girl.

Sharon: What if she’s not there?

Nick: And if you don’t show up like cameron demanded?

Sharon: We can’t take the chance that something happens to our daughter.

Nick: I agree.

Sharon: Are you thinking what I’m thinking?

Nick: Oh, we’re going to that motel. To be this uny

Mariah: No. No, no, no. No, you’re not– you’re not gonna do that to me, okay? You’re not gonna turn this around on me and paint me to be this unyielding and stubborn person who doesn’t cut people a break. That’s not me.

Summer: Come on, mariah. You’ve been stubborn and unyielding since the day I met you.

Mariah: Summer, I will be the first person to admit that you have matured in a lot of ways. For one, you and kyle, you were both so happy before all of this. And for another, I really admire what an amazing mother you are to harrison.

Summer: Thanks for that.

Mariah: But as much as you’ve grown up, you’re still your mother’s daughter. You still have that same streak of selfish recklessness and I’m sorry, but I don’t know that you’re ever gonna be able to convince me that you are good enough for kyle.

Summer: Wow. You know, you really shouldn’t agree to officiate a vow renewal if you truly despite the bride that much.

Mariah: No, no, I didn’t say that. I don’t despise you, summer, and I was truly hoping that your marriage would work out.

Summer: What are you saying? That it’s not gonna work out? That my marriage is over?

Mariah: Summer, oh… my goodness. You really need to take a very hard look at what you have done. You have deceived kyle. You chose your mother over everyone else. You left his mother sitting in a jail cell. You’ve hurt them both so much.

[ Summer sighing ]

Summer: I guess I can forget that favor.

Mariah: Yeah, but I will– I will give you a different one.

Summer: What’s that?

Mariah: Advice. Just give kyle the time that he needs. After what you did, it is going to take a lot to earn his forgiveness, as it should be. And I don’t know if you will ever be able to earn his trust again. And you would have no one to blame for that but yourself.

[ Mariah sighing ]

Nick: We should head to the motel. If chance calls and says they have faith, then we’ll come right back home. But if not? We stick to our original plan. We go. Dad’s security team and I will be right behind you. Then, we go in there and we take cameron out and we bring our daughter home alive.

Sharon: We have to do this. We have no other choice, right?

Nick: No, we don’t, but I want you to take one more precaution. If you’re gonna face cameron alone, I don’t want you to go in there completely unarmed.

Summer: Hi. You’re home.

Nick: All right. This’ll work.

Sharon: A knife? Nick, I can’t meet cameron wielding that in my hand.

Nick: That’s why we’re gonna keep it hidden and tape it to your leg.

Sharon: My leg?

Nick: Yes, sharon. You need something to defend yourself with.

Sharon: You’re right. I guess I do need something in case he snaps and loses it again.

Nick: It’s not gonna come to that, all right? This is just a precaution. It’s a last resort. My dad’s security team and i will be there. He’s not gonna lay a finger on you. Have a seat. Now, hold that right there. All right. How’s that feel?

Sharon: FinE.

Nick: It’s not too uncomfortable?

Sharon: No, it’s fine. I’m prepared to do whatever it takes to get our baby back.

Daniel: I appreciate your opinion on the situation and with all due respect, I have taken everything you’ve said to heart, but whatever does happen, I really hope it doesn’t come down to prison for my mom or my sister.

Lily: Yeah, no, you’re… you’re right. You’re right. I mean, honestly, I– I actually hope so too. I just– maybe… maybe I was just rationalizing in case it does come to that.

Daniel: Mm. Sure. And if it does, you can always point back to this conversation and say, “ah, remember. There are advantages to being a prisoner.”

Lily: I’m really sorry.

Daniel: Don’t apologize. It’s actually kind of thoughtful, in a perverse sort of way.

Lily: Oh, god.

[ Daniel sighing heavily ] Is there anything I can do to help? Honestly, just name it.

Daniel: No. No. I’m at a loss trying to figure out what I can even do. It just feels like the whole situation is spiraling out of control. Today, I went to my brother-in-law to try and convince him to not to give up on summer, but even kyle wouldn’t listen to me, you know. Just… the whole situation just seems uncertain. For all of us.

Summer: You– you should’ve seen harrison tonight. He was so cute. I was reading him bumpy the camel and he kept on stopping me so that he could read it to me. He’s heard that story so many times, he knows it by heart.

Kyle: Sorry I missed that.

Summer: You know, that kind of memorization, it’s the first step to reading, so we should guide him in that direction. I could buy him so beginner reading books.

Kyle: That’s a good idea.

Summer: Kyle, I’ve been thinking a lot and I have a lot of things I wanna say. Could we talk now?

[ Kyle sighing ]

Kyle: Not tonight.

Nick: I believe in you.

Sharon: And I believe that you will be my back up and make sure that nothing happens.

Nick: Absolutely.

Sharon: Okay, I have to think about how I’m gonna handle him. Maybe I could just get him to tell me where faith is, but if he seems tense or angry, I’m just gonna remain calm and strong and try not to get emotional.

Nick: All right. I’m gonna run up to the main house and talk to dad and the security team. Just make sure they know they have to do everything as discreetly as possible. We’ll leave from the back service exit. Meet me behind the house in ten minutes.

[ Sharon sighing ]

Cameron: Hi, sharon.

[ Sharon gasping ]

Cameron: Everybody’s gone. It’s just you and me.

Although there’s no official police statement that Faith has been kidnapped, a hysterical and horrified Sharon knows it in her heart. Chance, who is guarding Sharon, tries to give her some hope, but a colleague calls Chance with the news that Faith was not on the flight back to college. Sharon is completely devastated at the thought of Cameron having Faith and is unaware that Nick’s been arrested.

Nikki and Victor, who also don’t know about the kidnapping, talk about how to deal with Cameron, and also how to deal with Nate. Victoria’s idea of Nick taking a leave of absence because he’s in jail is unacceptable to Victor and Nikki. Nikki asks Victoria if she would give Nick’s job to Nate. Victoria says that if Nick left the company permanently, she would consider giving the Chief Operating Office job to Nate. Later, Victor witnesses Nate and Audra scheming about how Nick’s leave of absence could be an opening that Nate could take advantage of; Audra could then take Nate’s job at Newman media, which is her current goal. Nate and Audra raise their glasses to the plan while Victor looks on.

A furious Nick regretfully acknowledges to Micheal that the police arresting him is Cameron’s plan to get him out of the way so that Cameron can get to Sharon. Micheal says that Cameron anticipated Nick’s fury and used it against him when he stormed into Cameron’s hotel room and punched the wall. Michael reassures an imprisoned Nick that Sharon and Faith are safe, with so many people protecting them.

Phyllis contacts Summer and adamantly forbids her from doing anything else to get Phyllis back to town. She also urges Daniel to protect Summer. Summer informs Michael about her plan to get Phyllis back to town. Michael vehemently disagrees, but later acknowledges that the EMT could be a critical part of the puzzle. He thinks it’s a long shot to find him and get him to co-operate but that Summer should not act on her own. Summer appeals to Grandpa Victor to help her. Victor is hesitant, but agrees after Summer puts on her best pleading puppy dog eyes that he can’t refuse.

Jack: I love september. Always have. Back to school, leaves on the trees changing, fire in the hearth.

Diane: And now, we’ll have another reason to adore autumn.

Jack: Our wedding.

Diane: Yes. But, do you think kyle and summer will have resolved their problems by then?

Jack: Well, they have managed to weather a number of challenges in the past and survived.

Diane: Yeah. Every hurt leaves a scar.

Jack: Yeah, but that scar tissue is sturdy stuff. It’ll make them stronger. It’ll make them champions. Don’t worry. Look, they– they’re not kids. They can solve their own problems. You and I have to focus on each other. I wanna lavish you with all the love you deserve.

Diane: Hmm. And tonight, you’re all mine all night.

Jack: Just us.

Diane: It’s a deal.

Jack: Oh, damn.

Billy: Hey, there. Just the woman I was looking for.

Chelsea: Ah. Well, if you’re looking for the confused, exhausted type. I’m your girl.

Billy: Well, I was just about to get myself something sweet. I’ll grab you an espresso. I’m looking forward to the movie night. Been looking forward to it all week. You’ll fall asleep on my shoulder and connor and i will keep it down.

Chelsea: Well, that’s the problem. Connor.

Billy: What is the problem?

Chelsea: He’s announced he’s not coming out of his room.

Billy: What?

Chelsea: Yeah. Not for a movie. Not for a trip around the world. Not even for the latest sneakers.

Billy: No movie?

[ Chelsea exhaling ]

Chelsea: No nothing.

Sally: Actually, I’m not.

Adam: I was, uh, talking to the other lady in the room. Wait ’til you see what I’ve got for you. Your old dad’s here to expand your palate. But in order for you to taste the world, you need to eat.

Sally: [ Grunts ] How can I? Nick was just arrested for assaulting that maniac.

Adam: Wha– cameron? Uh, well, that tracks.

Sally: Wait, you’re not surprised?

Adam: Uh, nick can be a punch first, ask questions when you get around to it kinda guy. But you know that already.

Sally: What do I know?

Adam: The whole story. What happened with ashland. And the news article you refused to run in newman media’s publication.

Sally: Well, yeah, I know that.

Adam: Yeah. I’m just saying that nick can be his own worst enemy, even when when there’s a hint of danger surrounding someone he loves, he can take it to an extreme.

Sharon: You promised me that faith would be safe. You swore to me!

Chance: We are doing everything that we can to find her, sharon. I promise.

Sharon: Great. Call me when you find something.

Chance: Whoa! Whoa! Where are you going? Where are you going? Stop. Stop.

Sharon: To find my child!

Chance: We have people out there doing their jobs. Let them do their jobs.

Sharon: No, I have to go. I have to go. I have to go.

Chance: Listen to me. Listen to me, before you go. I cannot imagine how terrified you are right now. And yes, faith does need you, but she needs you to be smart.

Sharon: I know. I know. I am. I am.

Chance: Okay, take a breath. All right? Think about this. What happens if you run out there without a clue what’s going on and no backup?

Sharon: I put myself in danger.

Chance: Let me do my job. Okay? Trust me.

[ Door opens ]

[ Nick sighing ]

Nick: I just made bail. What’s going on?

Sharon: It’s faith. He took her. He took our baby.

Nick: How’d he get his hands on her?

Chance: Look, I know you’re upset but I have no idea.

Nick: Tell me what happened.

Chance: We are trying to piece this together still, man.

Nick: I told you from the beginning, these battery charges were a setup. He knew I would die before I would ever allow him to touch a hair on faith’s head.

Sharon: Nick, it doesn’t matter! We have to find her now!

Nick: How did he even know where she would be?

Chance: I mean, he’s gotta have someone on the inside.

Nick: You think my family had something to do with this?

Chance: Who had access to that information? Who knew she was on that flight?

Sharon: No one. I booked that flight myself today. No one on the outside knew anything about it.

Nick: It was cameron. He was here. He poisoned the cat.

Sharon: You said that he never came into this house, but that cat, remember, never went outside. It was in here the whole time until faith found him dead on the doorstep.

Nick: I know what you did! You hear me? I know what you did. You had me set up so you can grab my kid because you’re not man enough to come out here and face me! So you hurt a defenseless kid and hurt her cat. I will find you. Do you hear me? I’m going to find you! And when I do, there’s not gonna be enough left of you for the cops to arrest. Do you hear me? Are you still listening?

Sharon: Oh, my god. You wanted my attention. You got it. You bring my daughter home, you bastard. You bring her back home!

Jack: Champagne’s on us. Enjoy.

Diane: Yes. We should toast to true love. The kind that never dies.

Ashley: Ugh. So morbid. Sounds like a rotting corpse dragging itself out of the cemetery. You know what I mean?

Diane: No. No. And no one ever does. And yet everyone continues to listen to your opinions.

Tucker: Ugh. How about we switch to a fun little rose from 2000? It’s a little bouncy for my taste, but can’t have everything.

Jack: Some of us can.

Diane: Yeah.

Ashley: I think that’s a great idea, honey. So, we haven’t decided what to toast to.

Tucker: Righting old wrongs.

Jack: Wow. There’s a cherry toast. How about rekindling old flames?

[ Ashley laughing ]

Diane: Hmm.

Ashley: Oh!

Jack: What? What’s so amusing?

Ashley: Oh, well, kinda reminds me when diane burnt down the pool house.

[ Chuckling ] Seriously, she did that to trap a man. I mean, who does that? Well, diane does because she’ll do anything to get what she wants. Right, jack?

Jack: Why would you bring–

Diane: No, no, no. Let’s not let anything spoil our celebration. To the abundance of love that’s found its way into the abbott family. May we all be so lucky.

Jack: Oh, I like that.

Diane: Hmm.

Sally: This is an entirely different case than what went down with ashland.

Adam: Show your work.

Sally: Well, he protected his sister from a mad man.

Adam: He protected sharon from a lunatic.

Sally: Who shouldn’t even be out on the streets after all of the crimes he’s committed. And ashland fell. That was an accident.

Adam: And after a round in the ring with nick, what befell cameron was probably a left hook.

Sally: Is this a conversation you really wanna be having with a woman whose borderline pre-eclampsia?

Adam: It is all part of the plan to get you to expose and expunge those sticky feelings so we can get to the candy coated core. Lighthearted topics. Eating, for instance.

Sally: I’m still not hungry.

Adam: Okay. Okay. Then we will simply sit here in silence. No, that’s too awkward. Um, we could, let’s see. Let’s see. Ooh, we could listen to an audiobook.

Sally: Oh, that’s fun.

Adam: Well, not me and you. Me and the kid. Ah-ha! Sun tzu’s art of war or machiavelli’s the prince.

Sally: Wow.

Adam: Well, she’s gotta learn somehow. I want our girl to be ready like a warrior.

Sally: Well, she’s ours, so she has no choice.

Adam: Grow up watching her old man work day and night to build mccall from bones to something valuable.

Sally: Why are you working so hard? It’s not like you have to prove anything to yourself or anyone else.

Adam: Well, I’m doing it all for the love of a girl who potentially could be the greatest love of my life.

Sally: Adam–

Adam: Some as of yet, unnamed beauty, who has a mind for business and a heart as big as a kansas cornfield.

Sally: So what’s the plan? Polish mccall until it sparkles, and then you pass it along to connor and the unnamed beauty?

Adam: Ooh, this is the best part. Is once I make it a contender again, I’m gonna take back what’s mine. Newman media.

Sharon: He was here. He found a way into my home. Took my daughter. He took my sense of security. He knows our plans. He knows our fears. And– and we thought we were being so careful.

Chance: With a guy like this it doesn’t matter how cautious you are. He’s probably been planning this for a long time now.

Sharon: He knows what we’re doing. He knows why. And– and we have no information. We still have no idea what he wants.

Nick: I know what he wants. He told me when I confronted him at the athletic club.

Chance: What’d he say?

Nick: He wants sharon. He thinks that he and her belong together and that he’s gonna make her fall in love with him again.

Sharon: I was never in love with him! He is deranged, okay?

Nick: But if he wants sharon–

Chance: He took faith as leverage.

Nick: She’s the bait.

Chance: To get you to him.

[ Chance sighing ] Dispatch. Yeah. Make sure we got cars in between here and the airport, okay? Thank you. All right. I issued an apb on officer swift’s vehicle and a bolo on cameron. We’ll see what that does.

Sharon: Where could he be keeping her? Where is he keeping her?

Chance: Well, if he wants you, he knows he has to be close, right? I mean, he’s still gotta be in the area.

Nick: What should we do?

Chance: Stay put. He’s gonna try to contact you and set up a time and a place to meet, okay?

Sharon: Okay. Where will you be?

Chance: I’m gonna leave some guys on the property, but I wanna go check out his room at the athletic club, see if he left anything behind that might tell us where he is now or what he’s gonna do next.

Sharon: Chance, please find our faith. Find her.

[ Sharon sobbing ] (Wheezing)

Tucker: I don’t know. What do you think of this rose?

Ashley: Oh, it’s delightful, honey.

Tucker: All right. Maybe we should serve it at the wedding.

Diane: Don’t stop there. Why don’t you buy the vineyard, become vintners and move far, far away?

Ashley: Oh, we can’t do that. We love genoa city too much, don’t we?

Tucker: Yeah.

Ashley: We love it here. Could never move. Although, we could probably do some modifications on the house.

Jack: Wait, my house?

Ashley: Our house. Because sometimes it’s a little inconvenient to run into certain people when you just wanna grab a quick snack from the kitchen.

Diane: Certain people?

Ashley: Yeah. I don’t wanna point fingers, but–

Diane: Yeah. Well, what do you propose we do about it? What? Build a wall down the center of the house?

Ashley: How stupid is that building a wall? Come on. No. I mean, a fence would do perfectly fine.

Tucker: Yes.

Jack: Don’t be absurd.

Tucker: No. An electric fence.

Ashley: Right.

Tucker: You know what though? The increase in the utility bill makes it impractical.

Ashley: We can’t afford that.

Diane: When will you two stop acting so childish?

Ashley: Oh, maybe when your bus leaves the station out of town.

Jack: Could we just have one evening that doesn’t involve sniping and bickering?

Both: She started it.

Jack: Well, apparently not.

Diane: How can you say this started with me? You’re the one who moved tucker into the house. You’re– you’re the one who started this asinine wedding charade.

Ashley: Why is my wedding asinine and yours is perfectly normal?

Diane: Because you’re about to marry that ass.

Tucker: Wow. Are you gonna let her talk to me like that?

Ashley: Well, she’s not really talking to you. She’s talking about you. And no, I’m not. You know, I could throw this perfectly beautiful glass of rose in your face, but that would be a waste of a very expensive glass. But still I’m somehow tempted to maybe just–

Tucker: Can we get a less expensive rose?

Diane: Oh, really, ashley? I dare you. I dare you.

Ashley: You dare me?

Jack: Calm down!

Abby: What fresh hell is this?

Chelsea: I left a message for sharon. She still hasn’t gotten back to me.

Billy: Well, devil’s advocate, kids go through things. We know that.

Chelsea: Yeah. This just feels different, billy. What if it’s the start of something hereditary, that connor’s gonna have to struggle with his entire life?

Billy: That’s possible, okay? That– that could be true, but we don’t know yet. Okay? So one step at a time. Yeah? I’ll go talk to him.

Chelsea: Oh. Uh, just, uh, I don’t know if that’s a good idea.

Billy: Hmm. I can handle a moody teenager. I was one not that long ago.

Chelsea: Hmm… it’s kinda long ago.

Billy: Okay. Watch yourself. Uh, look, we get along well. Let me go talk to him. And who knows? This might be about some girl he doesn’t wanna talk to his mom about.

Chelsea: That kid would talk to me.

Billy: Let me go upstairs. See what I can do.

Chelsea: You’re quite confident.

Billy: I got this.

Chelsea: Good luck.

[ Chelsea sighing ]

Nick: I should have been there. I should have been with faith.

Sharon: Nick, you can not blame yourself.

Nick: I should have driven her to the airport.

Sharon: Well, then he would’ve gotten both of you. Or waited until she was alone someplace else and taken her then. This is not your fault, okay? She had a police escort and that maniac still managed to take her.

Nick: I cannot stop thinking about how bad I’m gonna hurt this guy.

Sharon: All right. Well, we need to focus on the problem. We need to wait for a phone call or some other kind of communication from him.

[ Nick sighing ]

[ Phone ringing ]

Sally: Nick, are you all right?

Nick: Better now that I get to hear your voice.

Sally: It’s really sweet of you to say. Please tell me everything. What’s going on?

Nick: Well, I got outta jail, so things are working themselves out.

Sally: Are you being vague for medical reasons?

Nick: What do you mean?

Sally: It’s like there’s something going on and you don’t wanna tell me. Look, I’m– I’m fine. I’m– I am serenity itself.

Nick: Well, I intend to keep it that way.

Sally: Do you know why I was so good at newman media? Because I suffer from fomo. Chronic fear of missing out. I need to know things.

Nick: Well, you’re gonna have to get used to taking a backseat for the next few months. Listen, can you do me a favor? Can you put adam on the phone? I need to talk to him and promise me that you’re gonna take care of yourself until I get there and do it for you.

Sally: I can’t wait. And same to you.

[ Sally sighing ] And for the record, I hate being left in the dark.

Adam: Anyone that’s spent 20 seconds with you will know that. Before you ask, she’s fine. I’ll make sure she eats her veggies. How are things?

Nick: Is this on speaker phone?

Adam: Of course not.

Nick: All right. I need you to pretend like you’re not hearing bad news and definitely keep this to yourself.

Adam: I can do that.

Nick: Cameron has faith. He took my little girl.

Adam: I see. Um, what now?

Nick: I’mma take care of this. That’s what’s now.

Adam: Well, don’t worry about sally. I will take care of her, um, while you handle that issue.

Nick: Thank you.

Adam: Mm-hmm. What are brothers for? Do what you have to do.

Nick: Oh, I will. Count on that.

Diane: You have been attacking me since I came back to genoa city.

Ashley: Who asked you to come back, diane?

Abby: Okay. Wait, wait. Stop. Just stop whatever this is.

Jack: Hey. Look who’s here.

Diane: Hi, honey.

Tucker: Just in time

Abby: For what? World war iii?

Jack: Actually, we were celebrating.

Abby: Oh, is that what you call this? Because it looks like you were trying to resolve this great wedding conflict by attempting to smash each other’s heads in.

Diane: Oh, no. There’s no conflict. Your uncle jack and I were just mulling over the idea of a september wedding.

Ashley: [ Fake coughing ] Oh, no, not september.

Tucker: Yeah, we had our eyes set on august.

Ashley: Yeah. ‘Cause we just, we can’t wait.

Jack: Please put an end to this ruse. You could save face and walk away from the whole thing.

Abby: I think what uncle jack is trying to say is that august just seems so soon.

Tucker: Well, I would marry her tomorrow if she’d have me.

Ashley: Isn’t it tremendous news, jackie? I mean, really, isn’t it? We have a couple months here of just, oh, it’s just gonna be filled with planning and fittings and all the excitement that goes into new beginnings.

Tucker: Oh, I can’t wait.

Ashley: Yeah. Me neither. I can’t wait. I mean, really it’s more than just a wedding though, don’t you think tucker? It’s more of like a wedding experience.

Tucker: Experience.

Ashley: Yeah. And I think– I mean, I hope that the people on your guest list aren’t wedding-ed out after all the events that we have planned. I mean, it’s truly an extravaganza.

Tucker: Extravaganza. Truly.

Diane: Jack, why don’t we find a table closer to the music?

Jack: Excellent idea.

Ashley: Bye.

Abby: You’re children, you know that, right? Worse than children.

Billy: It could have gone better. At least, now I know my sense of humor works better on his mother.

Chelsea: What happened?

Billy: Well, um, I did my best and, uh, he wasn’t really having it. He used homework as an excuse, asked me to shut the door while I was on the other side of it. But he was very polite about it.

Chelsea: What do you think this is?

Billy: I don’t know.

Chelsea: I don’t think this is just the usual dark cloud that’s gonna blow over. I really don’T. I mean, why would it? Between my genetics and adam’s weird self-loathing, me against the world thing, I mean, it’s no wonder this kid wants to lock himself in his bedroom.

Billy: Okay. I’ve known you for a long time. You’ve been many things, but licensed physician, not one.

Chelsea: I’m his mom.

Billy: I know. I get it. And as a parent, you think you know all the right answers. Best thing you can do is love him, continue to support him, and know that sometimes, a professional is the best person to ask about stuff like this.

Chelsea: Yeah, you’re right. You’re right. I’m just gonna tell him, “listen, if you, you know, sprained your ankle, you’d go see a doctor. Depending on your unique genetic makeup, some of us are more prone to sprained ankles than the rest of the world.”

Billy: Look, the best thing he can do to take care of himself is allow the people that love him to help him.

Chelsea: And if sharon can’t help, I will find someone who can.

Billy: Sounds like a plan.

Sharon: You know, when faith was born, they told me she didn’t make it. That never felt right to me. Sometimes, I could feel her out there, like my missing part needing me.

Nick: Then, she was in your arms like cassie predicted.

Sharon: Someone’s been looking out for her. She has a guardian angel.

Nick: She does. Everything about that girl is a miracle

Sharon: From the very beginning. And that’s not gonna end now. Type 2 diabetes?

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue. I used to pre-rinse dishes cause my old detergent

Adam: Well, look who, uh, had an appetite after all?

Sally: Oh, it was so good. Where’s it from?

Adam: What?

Sally: Where’s it from? Where’s it from?

Adam: I’m not telling. Don’t look at the address on the receipt. Okay? Guy’s gotta keep a secret. What if I go in there one night and you’ve made it yours and nick’s new favorite spot?

Sally: Well, it was delicious.

Adam: That’s what new york tastes like to me. Stumbling home after a late night, passing all the closed shops and empty taxis, having a grilled cheese while the city comes alive again.

Sally: The grilled cheese is perfect. And that story was distracting in all the right ways. And it’s a good thing that you like late nights and early mornings because I have news. This one is a free spirit.

Adam: Well, I am glad to entertain.

Sally: Just which stomach churning event are you distracting me from? My blood pressure and the baby, or this thing with the guy from nick and sharon’s past and just how serious is it?

Nick: Yes, faith is a miracle. You know what else she is? She’s your daughter. That means she’s a fighter and a survivor. Wherever she is, she’s gonna be okay. She’s gonna come back to us.

Sharon: She still has so much she needs to experience, nick.

Nick: I know that. And she knows she has two parents who will move heaven and earth to bring her back home. Our daughter is made of steel. Do not shed a tear for her. If anything, you feel pity for the bastard who made the mistake of messing with our girl.

Sharon: I wish I had a slice of her strength right now.

Nick: Sharon, that is what’s keeping her going. She knows that she is front and center in your mind. That connection that you have, that love that you have is so strong and real. I need you to dig deep and access that part of your connection. That is what is going to keep her alive.

Sharon: Yeah?

Nick: Yes. We need the sharon that kicked cancer’s ass. That helped our daughter through that terrible car accident and got her through rehab and the kidney transplant.

Sharon: She was so brave then.

Nick: Then and now. We need the mom who studied day and night to get that degree. One I know she sometimes feels like she’s not using. But sharon, it is time for you to do the most important thing you’ve done in a long time. Find our little girl. Get inside his head.

Sharon: I can’t, nick.

Nick: Yes, you can. Yes, you can. You can do this. You know how he thinks. Just take yourself out of the picture, all right? This is just another case study in one of your textbooks. It is suspect versus survivor. Tell me what he’s gonna do next.

Sharon: He’ll play mind games. He’ll try to get inside of her head and get her to believe his lies. That’s what he did with me and he will try the same with her. We’ve gotta find her, nick, before it’s too late.

Jack: I am so sorry. You do not deserve any of this abuse that ashley is heaping on you.

Diane: Oh, your sister doesn’t scare me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go to the ladies. Be right back.

Abby: Uncle jack, what’s going on?

Jack: What’s going on? I am in love about to marry the woman I am meant for. Everything else–

Abby: Could be devastating.

Jack: Okay, abby, what is it you wanna say?

Abby: What is going on with my mom’s behavior? It’s crazy. I mean, she’s saying she’s doing all of this because she’s trying to protect you and jabot from diane’s diabolical designs, but doesn’t it bother you?

Jack: Tell me this. Do you think your mother really wants to expel me from jabot or she just wants me to think that’s what she’s doing?

Abby: Either way, all of this is troublesome. I mean, arguing in public, all of it.

Jack: Well, I’m a man in love. What trouble is it to me? Tucker is exploiting your mother. He’s taking advantage of her. He’s manipulating her. Whether he’s doing it for fun or for profit, I don’t know. But he’s the one who needs the talking to.

Abby: You think so too?

Jack: Oh, if there is some master plan to take over at jabot, tucker is the engineer. And any talk that your mother is making this move to protect the company from diane, that is garbage. This is a power grab. Pure and simple.

Abby: Uncle jack, I–

Jack: It breaks my heart that she is even considering it, but I am unruffled because even if tucker, god forbid marries her, he will never get his hands on jabot. I told myself I was ok with my moderate

Adam: I am not certain I understand your question. Are you asking me if nick and sharon past is a threat or the guy from their past is a threat to you?

Sally: Okay, now I’m confused. Although that’s probably what you were going for, wasn’t it? Look, just answer me this one question. Should I be worried about nick and sharon’s past?

Adam: No.

Sally: Should I be worried about the guy?

Adam: That’s two questions.

Sally: Okay. Adam, look, what are you saying?

Adam: You are not supposed to be worried about anything right now. You know nick would never let anything happen to you.

Sally: There’s something you’re not telling me, I know it. But I am more tired than curious, so I’m just gonna go rest my eyes.

Adam: I support that wholeheartedly. Here, let me help get in there. All cozy and calm while you dream of– of– where is your happy place these days?

Sally: Oh, well, going over color palettes for the job at chancellor-winters.

Adam: You know, the idea is to relax, keep your blood pressure low.

Sally: Is your happy place on a beach, on an island? Or is it taking your private elevator up to the top floor of your building, saying, “good morning, to your assistant and sitting behind your custom made desk?

Adam: You got a point. Go wherever you’re happy. But you have to do it from this room and this bed.

Sally: Mm, wild horses could not drag me away.

Adam: Good. Because I would lose my job.

Sally: Well, you always have mccall.

Adam: Hmm. Oh, that’s just a shiny toy that’s, um, nowhere near what I really want.

Sally: And what is it that you really want?

[ Adam sighing ]

Adam: Everything.

Sally: Adam, wait, can you do me a favor?

Adam: Anything.

Sally: Will you wake me when nick calls?

Adam: I promise.

Billy: Look, I know this is tough. No parent wants to see their kids struggle, whether it’s a math equation or emotions.

Chelsea: If this were algebra, I’d just hire a tutor.

Billy: There’s no shame in getting help. We know that. And connor is a bright, smart, funny kid. He loves life and he adores his mother. He’s just got some things swirling around in his head right now and it’s clouding his vision. And we’ll do everything we can to make sure that he gets clearheaded again.

Chelsea: Back to the real connor.

Billy: Exactly.

Chelsea: Date night for single parents is supposed to be a lot more fun than this. I promise I’ll make it up to you.

Billy: Any night I get with you is as good as it gets.

[ Abby sighing ]

Abby: Are you so bored now that you don’t have your own company to run that your new hobby is sowing discord?

Tucker: No, abby, the only thing that would leave me bereft is if I were to lose your mother.

Abby: What do you want from diane and uncle jack?

[ Tucker sighing ]

Tucker: Peace. Sincerely. I was hoping to find our own little corner of the world and start something new with your mom.

Abby: Or that could just be something you’re saying to cover your true motives. Do you really think my mom would start over again with you? Of course not. She’s not gonna walk away from her family’s business and you know that. This is just putting you in the perfect position to snatch jabot and make it seem like my mom’s idea.

Tucker: I see. The real thing is that you just don’t trust me.

Abby: No, I don’T.

Tucker: Okay. I’m gonna make her happy, abby.

Abby: You’re gonna break her heart. You always do.

Tucker: You know, abby, I sure hope you’re not teaching that grandson of mine that people can’t change. Hey.

Ashley: Uh-oh. What did I miss?

Abby: Oh, nothing. You know, just a round of getting to know your mom’s former and future husband.

Ashley: Who’s winning?

Abby: I’m not sure yet.

[ Abby scoffing ] I’m gonna pull over and stretch my legs.

AbbO.

Abby: Well, I– I have to go. I have a beautiful little boy to rush home to.

Ashley: Okay.

Jack: Family.

Diane: Where would we be without them?

Ashley: I can think of a few places you’d fit right in.

Abby: Okay. Stop.

Ashley: Sorry.

Abby: Seriously? You’re adults. Act your age. Respect the people around you. Now I am gonna go cuddle the most handsome man in town and I will see you guys later.

Jack: Bye, abby.

Diane: Bye.

Ashley: Very good. Um, I think maybe I wanna go cuddle the handsomest man in town too.

Diane: I think that’s the next thing on my to-do list.

Jack: I think we should get started on that. Do you think we could do what abby asked? Act our age and show a little respect toward each other.

Ashley: Anyway, let’s go.

[ Phone pinging ]

Sharon: No!

Nick: Sharon?

Sharon: No!

Nick: What is it?

Sharon: [ Sobbing ] My baby. Oh, my god, my baby. How could he do this to me? How could he do this?

Nick: When I get my hands on him–

[ Phone pinging ]

Sharon: What? What is it now?

Nick: “Join me where our old love died and a new love can be born. Come alone. Same motel, same room. Some things you can never forget.”

Sharon: It’s the motel room. The motel room where I killed him. I thought I killed him all those years ago, nick. Oh, my god! Oh, my god!

[ Sobbing ]

Daniel: I understand how urgent this is, but there is a right way and a wrong way to clear mom.

Summer: Okay. What would be so wrong with finding a witness that saw the whole thing?

Daniel: It’s a fake witness. One who could make matters worse 20 different ways.

Summer: What about my idea to find, um, the emt? Carson. He– he saw what stark did.

Daniel: He’s also a fugitive. He was a part of the plot. He’s not a credible witness. He’d be lying under oath, which means he’d be tacking another felony onto his record. Look, say that you did, by some miracle, convince this guy to do what you’re asking for some huge sum of money. Carson would hold that over your head for the rest of your life. He’d continue to extort you. You’d never be rid of him. Not to mention the fact that he might invent details that– that contradict mom’s story. I just think that the whole plan isn’t realistic.

Summer: Okay. You’re just throwing out worst case scenarios. This actually could work.

Daniel: Summer.

Summer: No, we need to find carson. We need to at least talk to him. All he has to do is tell the police that he saw mom act in self-defense.

Daniel: Oh, that’s all he has to do, huh?

Summer: Stark paid him to be an accomplice, so clearly, he can be bought. So, what, I– I find him, I give him a big bag of money and he says what I want him to say.

[ Daniel scoffs, sighs ]

Victor: I don’t care how damn busy you are. I wanna know what judge is responsible for today’s arraignments. Exactly. Get back to me. All right? Don’t give me a– what? Get to it.

Nikki: How is that going?

[ Victor groans in frustration ]

Victor: All I know is that I want our son out of that jail cell. He doesn’t belong there.

Nikki: As soon as cameron showed up in town, I think everybody expected this. I mean, there was bound to be a showdown.

Victor: Of course there was bound to be a showdown. Question is how to resolve it.

Nikki: I think we need to let michael do what he does best. He will get nicholas out as soon as possible. In the meantime, have there been any cameron sightings?

Victor: Uh-uh. And if that punk knows what’s good for him, he won’t show up anywhere near this house or our family.

Nikki: We’ve done what we can. Michael will keep us updated. So, in the meantime, why don’t we focus on our work and let him focus on his?

Victor: I know you’re trying to distract me. Good idea, too. There’s some business I want to discuss with you.

Nikki: Oh, the anderson deal. I have it right here.

Victor: No. I wanna talk to you about nate hastings. How’s he doing?

Nikki: You mean since he has started seeing victoria?

Victor: No, overall.

Nikki: I have to say, very well. He has made good decisions for newman media.

Victor: Good to know.

Nikki: I understand you’ve taken him under your wing.

Nate: My day was productive. Yours?

Victoria: Mine was… it was extremely productive.

Nate: Really?

Victoria: Yeah.

Nate: Why do you suppose that is?

Victoria: I don’t know. For some odd reason, I was just filled with energy.

Nate: Mm.

Victoria: Maybe it was that private meeting that we squeezed in before we went to the office.

Nate: Oh, you mean upstairs in the newman corporate suite?

[ Laughing ] You know, come to think of it, I was pretty invigorated myself afterward.

Victoria: I think we got a lot accomplished upstairs.

Nate: An amazing amount.

Victoria: We you usually do, though.

[ Nate chuckling ]

[ Phone chiming ]

Victoria: Oh, I’m sorry. I meant to turn my phone off.

Nate: No, go ahead. It’s fine.

Victoria: Sure?

Nate: Problem?

Victoria: Oh, my– my brother got arrested.

Nate: Oh, boy. What’s adam done now?

Victoria: No, not– not adam. Nicholas.

Nate: Are you serious?

Victoria: Yeah. Look, sadly we’re gonna have to cut this short. Excuse me. Can I please get the check?

Faith: I don’t understand how this can happen. That cameron kirsten freak is a criminal who killed a cat and dad is sitting in jail?

Sharon: Michael is a very sharp attorney. He will get your father out of there and out of trouble. Though it may take some time.

Faith: How much time? I never would’ve agreed to leave town if I’d known that you’d be alone.

[ Knocking on door ]

Chance: It’s chance.

Faith: How could you arrest my father?

Michael: Hey. How you doing? You hanging in there?

Nick: How do you think I’m doing? Kirsten is lying. These charges are a joke. It’s a setup to get me out of the way so I can’t protect sharon and faith. He’s obviously planning something, which means you have to get me out here now!

Michael: I appreciate the urgency, but you’re not gonna be arraigned ’til later today. And frankly, seeing how wound up you are right now, this might be the safest place for you. When migraine strikes, you’re faced with a choice.

Daniel: No, no, no, no, no. Look, we have broken enough laws already trying to help mom. Let’s not add any more to the list. People have gone to prison for a lot less. You wind up in a cell, how are you gonna help mom do anything?

Summer: I’m just thinking how mom would think. This is how she would approach things.

Daniel: Yeah? How’s that working out for her? She has screwed up her life beyond recognition. I mean, even she would tell you not to do this. It’s– it’s– it’s crazy, one, and it wouldn’t work.

Summer: You know what? If that’s your attitude, fine. I don’t need your help.

Nick: What do you mean you think it’s safer for me in here? Are you kidding me?

Michael: Nick! Nick, I am on your side.

Nick: Are you sure about that, michael?

Michael: I know exactly what I’m dealing with. All right? If you’ll recall, I was the first to hear about cameron, how vicious he is. Years ago, sharon told me what happened in denver before she admitted it to anyone else. The man is a disgusting pig, but he’s not stupid. In fact, he’s got you all figured out. You didn’t even touch him, and where are you? In jail. Out of commission. Because cameron anticipated that you’d come for him and he used it like a judo move against you. Pretty damn elegant if you ask me. Now, you are gonna stay in here for an hour or so and calm down while we wait for your arraignment. In the meantime, chance is with sharon, looking out for her. I mean, her own private special forces expert. I’ll even check on her, too, on my way.

Nick: Just make sure that sharon is safe and you keep cameron kirsten away from faith.

Michael: I give you my word. Between chance and me and victor’s security team, there’s gonna be a whole lot of people watching over them.

Nick: And I’m grateful for that, believe me. But I’m afraid that cameron is planning something, and once he puts it in motion, there may be no stopping it.

Chance: Cameron kirsten filed a complaint against your father. His face was beaten. And nick did admit to going to his hotel room, and his hands were bruised, so I had to follow the law.

Faith: Dad punched the wall. It is his word against cameron’S.

Chance: Well, the truth has a way of coming out in court.

Faith: Well, it needs to come out now. Dad shouldn’t be in jail. He shouldn’t have to deal with any of this. And he should be here with mom.

Chance: I understand that this guy is a creep, and that’s why I’m here. Since nick can’t be with you, I’m here to protect you.

Sharon: You are such a wonderful young woman. And I promise you, we will all be together again soon. But if you’re going to catch your flight, you better scoot.

Chance: I have a plainclothes officer outside in an unmarked car. His name’s officer swift. He’s gonna drive you to the airport and escort you to the gate. I’m gonna stay here with your mother so all bases are covered.

Faith: I hate leaving you with this guy in town.

Sharon: I am not afraid of him. And I do not want you worrying about me. You text me from your seat before you take off. Promise me.

Faith: I will.

Sharon: All right. Give me a hug. Okay. Remember to drink water. Stay hydrated. Those planes are very dry.

Faith: [ Chuckling ] Okay. Hydrate. Got it.

Chance: Come on. I’ll walk you out.

[ Kissing ]

Faith: I love you. Bye.

Sharon: I love you. Safe flighT. And we’re done.

Sharon: I really appreciate you coming by. But shouldn’t you be out there looking for cameron?

Chance: Well, I got my team and victor’s guys on high alert. I’m gonna stay put, if that’s okay? I’m sure as hell not gonna leave you here alone. Plus i told nick I’d look after you. So, just feel free to ignore me and go back to business.

Sharon: Well, I can’t just putter around you like you’re the furniture.

Chance: Ah, sure you can. I’ll blend right in. You’ll be mistaking me for an old ottoman in no time.

Sharon: [ Laughing ] Somehow I doubt that.

Chance: It’s nice to hear you laugh again.

Sharon: Well… you’re a positive influence. And not just on me. I appreciate you being so reassuring with faith. These past few days have been tough on her.

Chance: Yeah, she’s a good kid.

Sharon: Now that she’s off to college, the time I have with her is really precious. You know, a few short years from now she’ll be graduated and off on her own, and– and then I’m really gonna miss her.

Chance: Well, I can tell how much you two love each other. I doubt she’ll end up very far away from home.

Sharon: I hope not. Having to send her away like this is agonizing. It’s one of the reasons why I’m so angry with cameron. You know, I want this house to be a haven for faith.

Chance: Yeah, I understand that. I kinda wanted something similar at my place for dominic. Didn’t really work out for me.

Sharon: Well, it’s tough when you’re trying to keep your kids safe.

[ Knocking ]

Chance: It’s okay.

[ Phone ringing ]

Summer: Mom.

Phyllis: Hey, I’m glad you picked up.

Summer: I’m glad that we got you out of there when we did. Kyle brought chance straight to your room.

Phyllis: Yeah, that was a good call. I’m sure they’re still looking for me.

Summer: Yeah. Everybody wants to know where you’re hiding and they think that I’m keeping the secret.

Phyllis: Well, that’s why I’m not letting you know. Not that I can’t trust you.

Summer: It’s my own fault that kyle found you in the first place and I– I’m gonna make it up to you.

Phyllis: What? You have nothing to make up. Are you kidding me?

Summer: No, I’m gonna– I’m gonna find that emt that was in on the plan with you and stark– carson. I’m gonna find him and I’m gonna make him go to the police and say that he saw stark attack you and that you had to defend yourself.

Phyllis: No, you are absolutely not going to do that, summer.

Summer: Mom–

Phyllis: No, I mean it, summer. If anyone’s gonna find the emt, it’s gonna be me. You got it? He broke so many laws. I’m sure he’s very far from genoa city right now.

Phyllis: Summer, I mean it. No! I’m gonna take care of this on my own now. Okay? I’m gonna come up with a plan. Please trust me. I don’t wanna pull you and daniel into any of this mess anymore. What I want you to do is go to kyle and work on your relationship. Fix it. Okay?

Summer: I don’t even know if that’s possible.

Phyllis: Anything is possible. Go try. All right, super girl? Listen, I have so much to make up for. I can’t have your marriage on my conscience.

Victoria: Hi. So–

Nikki: Hi, guys.

Victor: Oh, hey.

Victoria: What’s the latest? Is nick okay? I’m assuming that cameron is behind this.

Nikki: Yeah. Who else? As far as we have heard–

Victor: Your brother is being arraigned momentarily. Michael baldwin will call as soon as he’s finished with the hearing.

Nikki: We’re confident he’ll be released on bail.

Victoria: [ Scoffs ] As usual, nick couldn’t help himself. He had to take matters into his own hands. You know this isn’t gonna reflect well for the company.

Victor: Nicholas denies he attacked the man.

Nikki: You know, that is such classic cameron. It’s all based on his twisted vendetta against your brother and sharon.

Victoria: I don’t doubt that’s an element. But we all know how aggressive nick can be when he’s protecting the people that he loves.

Victor: And if you recall, that helped you a great deal, didn’t it? Anyway, michael baldwin will, I’m sure, solve the problem. He owes me one.

Nikki: I trust him implicitly.

Nate: Michael is one of the best.

Victoria: On a personal note, I sympathize. Cameron is a horrible excuse for a human being. But as ceo, I have to be practical. Nick and sharon helped to put him away for murder. All it’s gonna take is a reporter with an ax to grind, to connect the dots in other areas. And that, dad, is the last kind of publicity that we need.

Victor: What are you talking about?

Victoria: Until this conflict is resolved and he clears his name, I’m gonna ask nick to take a leave of absence. Ladies…

Nikki: A leave of absence?

Victor: What are you talking about?

Nate: Uh, clearly this is a family matter, so I’ll excuse myself, if you don’t mind.

Victor: Thank you, nate.

Nate: I’ll talk to you later.

Victoria: Yeah.

[ Nate clearing throat ] Nick has one priority right now: Protecting his family.

Victor: As he protected you from ashland locke.

Victoria: Exactly. We don’t wanna draw attention to nick taking the law into his own hands. It’s the right solution for both him and for the company.

Victor: Sweetheart, it isn’t your call to make.

Victoria: Well, what do you think, mom? How do you feel about nick trying to deal with work while getting himself out of this legal trouble, while protecting faith and sharon at the same time?

Nikki: I agree with your father. I mean, yes, he needs to focus on his family, keep them safe. I’m happy to cover for him, but I don’t think we should call it a formal leave of absence. That would just raise more questions.

Victor: Just personal time off. End of story. No one else’s business.

Victoria: Okay. Well, you can call it whatever you wanna call it, but I want nick to be free to focus his energies where they belong right now.

Phyllis: I’m gonna do things on my own now, summer. Okay? I made a mistake. I put you in a horrible position. But I’m going to take care of everything now. All right?

Summer: But, mom, I can help you. The only thing that I wanna do right now is bring you home. And if getting carson to cooperate is what it takes–

Phyllis: No! Summer, I mean it. This is non-negotiable. You got it? Drop it.

Summer: [ Scoffs ] Fine. You win. What are you gonna do now?

Phyllis: Um, I’m not quite sure, but you don’t need to worry about me. You know me. I’m gonna come up with something. But what I want you to do is go to your husband. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be okay.

[ Sighing ]

Sharon: Nick must be climbing the walls in there.

Michael: No, he’s just anxious to have this arraignment over and done with.

[ Sharon sighing ]

Sharon: I thought that this nightmare was behind us, michael, a long time ago, when cameron got sent to prison.

Michael: Look, this time, you went straight to the authorities. You did the smart thing.

Sharon: I remember you begging me last time. “Tell nick, go to the police. Don’t try to handle this maniac on your own.” But I… I was just too terrified. I couldn’t bring myself to do it.

Michael: We’ve handled everything correctly this time. And I’m– I’m here to help.

Sharon: And we are eternally grateful.

[ Whispering ] I think I lost my mind last time. And… I– I cannot have that kind of violence or cruelty in my life again. And I will be damn sure that faith never experiences anything like that.

Michael: Um, detective, I don’t wanna alarm you, but, um… uh, nick thinks that cameron is up to something. And I’m afraid I have to agree.

Chance: Yeah, I think so, too. Now that he’s got nick out of the way, feels like he might make a move soon. All’s quiet on the ranch so far, though.

Sharon: Yes. If you think he’ll abide.

Michael: Well, if he doesn’t, he’ll be cooling his heels in a jail cell somewhere. Now, let me head into town. I will set it in motion. There’s not really very much left I can do here right now.

Sharon: Okay. It’s going to be another long evening and a sleepless night.

Chance: Well, don’t worry. I’ll be here, so you can rest. Tomorrow may be tense.

[ Phone ringing ]

Michael: Oh, I’m sorry. I should take this. Summer, what’s up?

Summer: I’m at society. Can you meet me? It’s about my mom.

Michael: Your mom? Um… uh, uh, I’ve got some time before nick’s arraignment. I can be there in 20.

Summer: Okay. I’ll see– wait, nick’s what?

Daniel: Oh, you’re worried about summer? What did she tell you? Her ridiculous plan?

Phyllis: Yeah, she did. And I told her in the strongest possible terms not to pursue it. I was adamant, but I’m afraid she’s just gonna do what she wants anyway.

Daniel: Yeah. You’re probably right.

Phyllis: Okay, so, listen. This emt guy, his name is carson. He’s really sketchy. And not only that, he was really, really scared, which is not a good sign. I mean, he stole two bodies from the morgue. He faked two deaths, and then he lied to the police. He’s probably long gone by now, I’m sure.

Daniel: You’re sure or you hope?

Phyllis: I don’t know. But listen, daniel, if she confronts him with the truth and he knows that now his cover is blown, who knows what he’s gonna do. That just can’t happen. You have to make sure she doesn’t do this. Please. We don’t wanna mess with this guy.

Daniel: I tried to talk her out of it, but no such luck.

Phyllis: Well, you have to try again. Whatever it takes, daniel, you have to. Please. I gotta go.

Daniel: Hey, hey, wait, wait. Mom. Where are you? Does summer know?

Phyllis: No, she doesn’t know. And you’re not gonna know either. I’m gonna take care of myself from now on. I’m gonna come up with a plan. I’ll be fine. I need you and your sister to back away from this. I’m gonna keep you safe from now on.

Michael: Summer.

Summer: What’s going on with my dad?

Michael: Um, he ran into some trouble. It’ll be taken care of in… hold, 45 minutes.

Summer: But he’s in jail?

Michael: Well, for now. Talk to him when– when he gets out. He’ll tell you what happened. You both will have a good laugh over it.

Summer: Oh, god. My dad is in jail. My mom is on the run.

[ Chuckling ] What is happening in my life? What–

Michael: Summer, I’m taking care of your dad. It’s just a big misunderstanding. Really. Don’t worry about him. Now, tell me what’s happening with phyllis. Have you seen her?

Summer: Yeah, I have. And I– I– I think that she’s nearby, but she– she won’t tell me where she is.

Michael: Good. SmarT.

Summer: I have a plan to bring her home safely.

Michael: [ Grunts ] And you need my help?

Summer: I need you to help me find the emt that stark paid to help with the whole faking mom’s death thing. Carson.

Michael: Yeah. I know who he is. The guy’s a crook. What could you possibly want with him?

Summer: I wanna convince him to be a witness. Say that he saw stark abusing my mom. Say that she had to act in self-defense. And then we can get her off the hook for murder, at least. And I will pay for it. You don’t have to worry about that part.

Michael: Okay. Okay. Look, everything you just said, we are not going to do.

Summer: I’m trying–

Michael: No way, no how.

Summer: I’m trying to find a solution.

Michael: Yeah. Well, you would be committing serious crimes with a wanted man to aid and abet another fugitive. I mean, we’re talking about fraud, obstruction, witness tampering, conspiracy to suborn perjury– that’s just the beginning. Look, n– the answer is no. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Have I made myself clear?

Summer: Okay, you sound like my mom and daniel.

Michael: Yeah. Well, then listen to all three of us tell you to forget this unworkable scheme.

Summer: Michael, you’re supposed to be my mom’s oldest and dearest friend. Do you not think that we owe it to her to help her try to come home without a prison sentence?

Michael: Sweetheart, you know my history. I’ve been there. I’m not breaking the law. I’m not doing for phyllis. I’m not doing it for anyone. And I’m not encouraging you to do so.

Summer: So, what, then? She’s just– she’s just doomed? I’m– I’m not ever gonna see my mom again? And I– if she gets caught, she’s gonna spend the rest of her life in prison.

Michael: All right, all right, all right, you might wanna take that down a notch. Because hysteria really doesn’t work with me. No, I– I am, I am grateful that you brought up this carson character. I don’t want you anywhere near him. But he could be a critical piece of this puzzle.

Summer: Wait. Seriously?

Michael: Yeah. He could legitimately testify that stark was the mastermind behind phyllis’s fake death, and about his darker tendencies, which may have caused phyllis to kill him in– in– in self-defense.

Summer: So, you do think that he could help with her case?

Michael: Potentially. It’s a long shot. We have to locate him, we have to convince him to return to the jurisdiction and– and expose himself to possible arrest.

Summer: But there’s hope. That’s what– that’s what matters. There’s hope.

Michael: Only if you swear not to make any moves on your own, or to get your hopes up too high. Then– then I will do everything I can to follow up on this angle.

Summer: It has to work. She has to come home.

Victoria: My concern is for nick and the company. Nate has nothing to do with this.

Nikki: Well, let me ask you this. If nicholas were to walk away from newman for whatever reason, would you consider elevating nate to that position?

Nate: Nick’s dealing with some serious issues that require his full attention.

Audra: Hmm.

Nate: Victoria’s gonna ask him to take a leave of absence.

Audra: Creating an opening you could take advantage of.

Nate: Even if it’s temporary, it will give me a chance to show what I’m capable of at that level, without nick around constantly breathing down my neck.

Audra: Mm. And bring me one step closer to running newman media.

[ Nate chuckles ]

Nate: Here’s to us. Advancing our plan.

Audra: [ Laughs ] I’ll drink to that.

Kyle: Summer’s not here.

Daniel: Actually, I came here to talk to you.

Kyle: Why?

Daniel: Because I’m worried about her. She’s desperate. She’s trying to come up with ways to help mom that are risky. They– they don’t make any sense. And she’s not gonna listen to me but she might– she might listen to you. I mean, that is if you’re willing to talk to her. Are you? Can you forgive her just a little bit?

Victor: Michael baldwin, why aren’t you getting my son out of jail?

Michael: Oh, well, I’m headed to the arraignment right after this meeting.

Summer: Hi.

Victor: Hello, sweetheart.

Summer: Thank you for coming, grandpa.

Victor: Yep. Thank you. So, what is this all about?

Summer: Um… we need your resources to, um, help track someone down. Carson, the emt from the night of the gala. We think that he could help my mom’s case, but we need to find him first.

Victor: So, you want my investigator to find a criminal to help another criminal, your mother? And by the way, you, mr. Baldwin, you left my employ to help diane jenkins, against my wishes.

Michael: Well, it was proven she was innocent. So, I did the right thing. That should pardon some of my sins.

Victor: How would that pardon phyllis’ sins? Why should I lift a finger for a woman who has caused so much hell and stress for my granddaughter?

Chance: So, rey and I pull up on the scene, right? It’s this possible burglary in process. Apparently what happened was this couple was walking into their house with groceries. The husband was telling the wife a joke, and after he hit the punchline, they heard somebody laugh upstairs.

Sharon: [ Gasps ] Oh, my gosh. No. How creepy.

Chance: Yeah. So, they drop their groceries, they run outside, they call the cops, right? Rey and I get there. We go upstairs and we find nothing but an open window and nothing stolen.

Sharon: Oh, too bad you didn’t catch the guy, but…

Chance: Yeah.

Sharon: At least nobody got hurt.

Chance: True. True. But the– the lesson here is, right, if you’re a burglar, don’t laugh.

[ Both laughing ] Come on. Come on. What’s up? Something wrong?

Sharon: Faith. She should have texted me by now to let me know she’s okay.

Victoria: Mom, I’m not trying to push nicholas out of the family company, if that’s what you’re asking. I love working with him. I do. I– would I prefer it if he kept his opinions about my personal life to himself? Of course, I would. But other than that, I love having him here working alongside us.

Nikki: Well, that’s very interesting, but you didn’t answer my question.

Victoria: Okay, then. Let me be more direct. If nick came to me and told me that he was leaving newman enterprises permanently, then yes. I would consider having nate take over as coo.

Kyle: Look, I don’t want to talk about this.

Daniel: Oh, I’m sure you don’T.

Kyle: I’ve got no problem with you. Okay? You’ve been decent through all of this. But this whole thing with summer lying and pretending not to know where phyllis was while framing my mom, it’s just too much.

Daniel: Hey, listen, man, I was furious with her, too. But when I spoke with her earlier, she was so stressed out. She’s not thinking straight. And I hate to say it, but when she feels like she has her back up against a wall, she’s a lot like our mother. And I’m worried that she’s gonna do something reckless thinking that it’s gonna help her.

Kyle: Daniel, as upset as I am with summer, I still love her. And the last thing I want is to see her hurt. But as far as you asking me to step in, I think you’re expecting too much.

Daniel: Why?

Kyle: Because it wouldn’t do any good. The way things are between summer and me, it’s pretty obvious my wife doesn’t give a damn what I say or do anymore.

Summer: Grandpa, this is my mom that we’re talking about. And I love her. And I know that you love me. Gosh, I just want her to be able to come home without a murder charge hanging over her head.

Michael: Victor, however this turns out, phyllis is not gonna be going home to a bed of roses. She has a lot of consequences to face for her actions. And so does carson. He has committed a multitude of crimes that he’ll have to answer for, which doesn’t make him the most credible witness, but at the moment, he’s all that phyllis has got.

Summer: Look, I’m not over what she did. Not at all. She made me and daniel suffer so much. But after thinking that my mom was gone forever, I just want her back home.

Victor: I understand how you feel, my darling. But every fiber of my body is against the notion of bringing phyllis back into this town. I mean, after all she has done, all the damage she has done to so many people, and most of all, to you.

Summer: Does that mean that–

Victor: Well, if you look at me like that, I’ll help you find carson.

[ Exhales in relief ]

Chance: Anything?

Sharon: No.

Chance: Maybe the flight got delayed.

Sharon: Faith would’ve said that to me. She would’ve told me that, too.

Chance: Look, we’ll give her a ring. See if she– see what the deal is. Call her.

[ Phone ringing ]

Sharon: Straight to voicemail.

Chance: Okay. Well, it could be airplane mode, right?

Sharon: No. Faith, she promised me, she promised she would check in. She wouldn’t neglect to do so.

Chance: Let me call swift, see what the deal is. Hold on.

[ Phone ringing ] It’s voicemail.

[ Sharon sniffling ] Oh, my god.

Chance: Hold on. Hold on.

Sharon: Chance!

Chance: Hold on, hold on. Give me a second.

[ Phone ringing ] Yeah. Hey, this is detective chancellor, genoa city pd. I need to know if a faith newman is on the passenger manifest for trans-global airlines flight 875. Yeah, I was scheduled to, uh– to leave genoa city a half hour ago. Yes. I’ll hold.

Sharon: I just– I don’t like this. I don’t like this one bit, chance. I don’t like this.

Chance: All right. Thank you.

[ Faith crying ] The flight took off. Faith wasn’t on board.

Sharon: No! No! No! [ Sobbing ] Chance!

Nikki: Your assistant told me you were covering for sharon.

Nick: Yeah. I’m just checking on a few things and I’m gonna get the staff up to speed, then I’m gonna head out to the ranch and check on sharon and faith.

Nikki: Have you calmed down since you went at it with your father?

Nick: Went at it, mom? Hardly. I’m just sick of dad’s fixation with sally. Not with cameron in town and making all these threats. Right now, sharon’s making sure that faith gets out of town herself and I think it’s breaking sharon’s heart.

Nikki: Honey, you really need to do something about that hand. It could be broken.

Nick: Will you leave me alone about my hand, mom?

[ Nick sighs ]

[ Cameron groans ]

Cameron: It– it’s kind of sweet how protective you are of your ex-wife. A little sad because she no longer wants or loves you, but super sweet.

Nick: You are gonna stay away from sharon and faith, and you will be gone by the morning

Cameron: Or what?

Nick: You don’t wanna find out.

[ Cameron chuckles ]

Abby: Oh, my gosh. Did you see dominic with that little hand drum?

Devon: I did.

[ Abby laughing ] It’s actually starting to sound like music.

Abby: Almost. Yeah. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.

Devon: Did you see that picture that tucker sent earlier of dominic in class waving his little wand around, trying out conducting? It’s the cutest thing in the world.

Abby: So cute. I think we might be a little bit biased though.

Devon: Oh, well. Definitely biased for sure.

Abby: I don’t know, I just, I can’t stop wondering.

Devon: Hm.

Abby: Tucker hasn’t missed a single music class and that is not easy on the eardrums. I mean, is he really just trying to prove to our family that he wants to be a part of all of this? Or is this some sort of angle that he’s using? Look, I know. I know it feels like I’m being negative and I should just be grateful that he’s doting on his grandson, but.

Devon: I know. He’s– he’s tucker and he is not the most trustworthy guy in the world.

Abby: Especially where my mom is concerned.

Devon: Yeah. Well, maybe it’s time that I put my plan into action.

Ashley: Right?

Tucker: Right.

Ashley: Cheers to us.

Tucker: Yes.

Ashley: Hmm. We have to tell abby and devon about our engagement before they hear about it from somebody else, okay?

Tucker: Okay. How about, “hey, abby and devon, we’re engaged. For real this time.”

Ashley: They’re not gonna be happy about it.

Tucker: Who cares?

Ashley: Well, I care. They were very upset when they found out you were moving in with me. Remember that?

[ Phone chiming ] Oh.

Tucker: Ah! Speak of the devil.

Ashley: Wow.

Tucker: Talk about timing.

Ashley: “Society in 30. Early dinner with devon and me. My treat.” Is that what you got?

Tucker: That’s what I got.

Ashley: Oh.

Tucker: That forces the issue, doesn’t it?

Ashley: Yes. Do we accept?

Tucker: What do we have to lose?

Ashley: The timing is interesting though, don’t you think? Is this a coincidence?

Tucker: It could be that they found out about the engagement and wanna stop the wedding. But it’s not up to them, is it?

Ashley: I can’t take any more fighting, honestly. There’s so much on my plate with this jack and diane thing. I can’t take it.

Tucker: Well, okay. What are you gonna do if they do object? You gonna put the wedding on hold indefinitely?

Jack: Hmm. A preemptive promotion, huh?

Diane: Well, you can’t deny that kicking me up the corporate ladder would send a powerful message to ashley and tucker.

Jack: It might also set off world war iii.

Diane: Well, your sister is to blame for that. What? Threatening to oust you from jabot as long as I’m in the picture?

Jack: Have you given any thought to what position might be suitable?

Diane: Well, my number one requirement is I wanna work closely with my fiancé.

Jack: Ooh, I like that.

Diane: Hmm. But since you asked, I understand that our chief talent officer is set to retire at the end of the month.

Jack: Ha! That’s right. Brenda is retiring. Any key hires go through her desk.

Diane: Yes. It’s a key position. And I know that hr has been interviewing possible candidates, but they’ve yet to fill the position. I would like to throw my hat in the ring if you think that–

Jack: You had me at your fiancé. And yeah, the more I think about it, the more that’s a perfect job for you. I can’t think of anyone shrewder at reading people.

Diane: So you’ll recommend me?

Jack: After everything you have been through in the last few months, feeling like you had no future, I want you to dream big. And yes, I can make this happen.

Diane: Good. Hmm.

Summer: Thanks for meeting me.

Daniel: Uh, how bad did it get after kyle saw mom in the hotel room? I mean, I stayed with her for a little while after I was half expecting to hear sirens and have a swat team show up at the door.

Summer: Well, keep listening.

Daniel: Are you saying kyle turned her in?

Summer: He found out that I knew where she was all this time and that I didn’t say anything.

Daniel: Oh, god. Summer, I’m sorry. I didn’t know.

Summer: I don’t know how we come back from this, but honestly, the only thing that I could think about in that moment was saving mom. So she and I did the only thing that we could.

Chance: All right. Hotel security’s gonna pull the surveillance footage for me.

Kyle: Oh, it’s not like they’ll find anything. Phyllis knows all about cameras and how to avoid ’em. It’s not like she was on her own either.

Chance: You know that’s twice now, man. You’ve come pretty close to incriminating your wife. Is there something you wanna tell me?

Kyle: I hate this. That’s what I wanna tell you.

Chance: Yeah, you’re in a, uh, tough spot, man. I get it.

Kyle: Okay. If there was any other way, but the truth has to come out. Summer has known where phyllis was for weeks. I can only assume she helped her escape. If your moderate to severe crohn’s disease

Ashley: We can’t be sure if abby and devon even know that we’re engaged, so let’s just cross that bridge when we get to it.

Tucker: Let’S. Very reasonable.

Ashley: Yeah. Then again, knowing abby, if she knew, she would definitely voice her opinion because she’s not shy, if you haven’t noticed.

Tucker: I have. So, you think this is just a coincidence? Just a friendly invitation for the four of us to get together?

Ashley: Maybe. We had a nice time when the four of us ended up at neil’s lounge, right? Wasn’t that kind of okay? Wasn’t it, right? It sounds like fun, maybe, to do this.

Tucker: Hey, and I love fun things, man. I love ’em a lot more than things that aren’t fun.

Ashley: Me too.

Tucker: I know.

Ashley: Okay. Here we go. Oh, “we…”

Tucker: “We–”

Ashley: “…Would be delighted.”

Tucker: “We’d be delighted.” Ugh! That’s brilliant.

Ashley: Mm-hmm.

Tucker: You know, it’s possible they won’t believe a word of it, or at least they’ll be suspicious.

Ashley: Yeah. Or both. Because we did tell them about, you know, the fact that we were considering a fake engagement purely for shock value.

Tucker: Yeah.

Ashley: I think the best thing to do is just be open and honest about both motives, right?

Tucker: Mm-hmm.

Ashley: You know that us being married just strengthens us in case diane becomes a problem at jabot. Although that has to be private information, you can’t tell anybody.

Tucker: Devil’s advocate though. Are we being, uh, unfair to abby by putting her in the middle of all this and making her keep up our pretense with the rest of the family?

Ashley: Honestly, she’s gonna wind up there anyway if diane getting kicked out of jabot becomes an issue with the board. Thankfully, my daughter’s very adept at straddling the fence because she’s both an abbott and a newman. But you know what? Honestly, she’s very much her own person, so she’s not gonna just blindly follow my lead. I guess tonight, we’re gonna find out whether or not I have her support, huh?

Tucker: Yes, we are.

Ashley: Okay. Fingers crossed.

Tucker: Fingers crossed.

Devon: All right. Louise is all settled in with dominic.

Abby: Excellent.

Devon: Yeah. Um, hey, you know that the original plan was just for me to spend one-on-one time with tucker to find out where his head’s at with your mom, right?

Abby: Yeah, but it won’t hurt to have some backup, right? I mean, you shouldn’t have to subject yourself to that all alone.

Devon: No. I mean, it’s not torture to hang out with the guy. He’s got a couple good qualities.

Abby: Okay. If you say so.

Devon: It’s true. The hard part comes when he shows his true colors and then you have to question everything he says or does.

Abby: Yes, that part would be torture, having to second guess everything your father says. But tonight, you won’t have to be doing it alone. I will be there. You will have a second pair of eyes and ears to zero in on tucker. We won’t let him slip anything past us.

Daniel: So mom’s a fugitive again out there racking up more crimes. What the hell is wrong with her?

Summer: She offered to turn herself in to save my marriage, but I told her no.

Daniel: Why would you do that?

Summer: Because she needs more time to figure this out.

Daniel: Summer, that was a mistake. We need to be handling this out in the open, not encouraging her to run and hide from the cops. I mean, it’s just making things worse for all of us.

Summer: I wasn’t about to let her sacrifice her freedom for my– chance.

Daniel: Chance at what?

Chance: I’m done playing games. Where’s phyllis?

Nick: Sorry, mom. I– I don’t mean to snap at you. I’m not upset with you. I’m just frustrated.

Nikki: It’s okay. So, did punching the wall solve anything?

Nick: You know, I think you’ve asked me that like a hundred times since I was six.

Nikki: And I’ll keep asking you that until you give me the right answer.

Nick: I don’t know. I don’t know if punching the wall solved anything, but it may have bought us some time.

Nikki: Is there an update? Is cameron still in town?

Nick: I haven’t heard anything, mom, so I have to assume he is still here.

Nikki: And you will let the police and your father’s security team deal with it, right?

Nick: Yeah. Whatever works.

Nikki: Darling, I understand that you’re worried. You wanna protect your family, but please don’t forget how dangerous it got last time.

Nick: Mom–

Nikki: Cameron kirsten is an animal. He needs to be handled by professionals. If he can hurt you, he will, and he will be trying to do major damage.

Cameron: Genoa city P.D.? I’d like to report an assault. Around here, we like to keep things simple and honest.

Ashley: You’re very relaxed.

Tucker: I’m very relaxed.

Ashley: They’re here.

Tucker: Uh-oh.

Abby: Hi. Oh, thank you.

Tucker: Hi. How you doing?

Abby: Hi. How are you?

Devon: Hey, you two.

Abby: Mom!

Devon: What’s going on?

Tucker: Hey, son. How’re you?

Abby: You look beautiful.

Ashley: Oh, my gosh.

Abby: Hi.

Devon: Hi, ashley. How are you?

Ashley: Good. Really good to see you.

Devon: You look beautiful.

Ashley: Oh, thank you.

Abby: Thank you.

Devon: Yeah.

Ashley: Woo!

Abby: Woo! Well, um, thank you for sending that picture of dominic at his music class.

Tucker: Oh, yeah. Yeah.

Devon: Boy’s a natural

Tucker: Yeah. And not only at the drums. Did you see the footage of him conducting?

Abby: I loved it. Yeah.

Tucker: He’s a natural born leader, so it’s in the genes.

Ashley: Right. Yeah.

[ All laughing ]

Abby: Oh, well, um, let me just tell you, the chef has outdone herself this evening. Um, there is a duck and scallop special that is out of this world.

Tucker: A duck and scallop together special. So it’s like a duck stuff– stuffed with scallops?

Abby: Or separately, you know. However you like it.

Tucker: Okay.

Devon: Should we get wine for the table or you guys want cocktails? What do you think?

Tucker: Yes.

Abby: Oh, why limit ourselves?

Devon: That’s why I love you.

Abby: Ooh.

Ashley: Okay. Stop. Anyway, we were both so happy that you invited us now because we have such great news.

Devon: Really?

Ashley: Yeah.

Abby: Mm-hmm.

Ashley: We’re getting married.

[ Tucker chuckling nervously ]

Tucker: Don’t everyone talk at once.

Devon: Yeah. No. I– I don’t know if we believe you, that’s all.

[ Laughing ]

Abby: I mean, is– is this real or is this for–

Tucker: It’s–

Abby: Diane and uncle jack’s benefit?

Tucker: It’s very real. And the wedding is going to happen very soon.

Ashley: Yeah.

Diane: How about to new opportunities?

Jack: How about to our new life together with lots of opportunities?

Diane: Hmm. No matter what ashley says.

[ Both laughing ]

Kyle: Where’s summer? Is she here? I need to talk to her.

Jack: No, I haven’t seen her.

Diane: Neither have I.

Jack: Hey, what’s wrong? What’s going on?

Kyle: I can handle it.

Jack: Kyle! Kyle! You can’t expect us to sit back when you’re this upset. What’s going on?

Diane: Yeah, we’re here for you. What is it?

Kyle: Okay. I wish I didn’t have to tell you this, but I can’t keep it to myself any longer.

Daniel: I have no idea where our mother is.

Chance: You sure about that?

Daniel: You wanna hook me up to a lie detector?

Chance: What about you?

Summer: I don’t know where she is either.

Chance: Okay. Well, I know she’s been laying low at the athletic club. She’s not there anymore. And I bet you’re the one that hustled her outta there. It’s a big mistake, summer.

Summer: Daniel, will you give me and chance some privacy?

Daniel: No. No, I don’t think I wanna do that. We agreed that we were in this together, remember?

Summer: Look, I don’t wanna drag you any deeper into this. Please.

Daniel: Listen to her. Give her a fair shake.

Chance: As long as she’s honest.

Daniel: Call me.

Summer: I really thought you were on my side there for a second.

Chance: No, I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, but now I know you’ve been lying to me this whole time. We had an agreement. You knew that I would be as fair as the law would allow.

Summer: That’s the catch though, right? “As the law would allow.” I don’t regret any of my actions. Stark forced my mom to do everything that she did, but there– there’s no way to prove it because he is dead now. Chance, she’s in an impossible position. How can the law help her now?

Chance: There is always a way.

Summer: How? Tell me.

Chance: Summer, I can’t do anything if you don’t tell me the truth. We were supposed to be helping each other, all right? We had a relationship built on trust and right now, you don’t trust me and I sure as hell don’t trust you. Ultomiris is for adults with generalized myasthenia gravis

Summer: Once kyle found us, mom knew that she wasn’t safe anymore and she took off the minute that he left. She could be anywhere by now.

Chance: Summer, by refusing to cooperate, you know you’re making this so much harder on phyllis and yourself? You do realize I could arrest you right now, right? Yeah. False statements, obstruction, aiding and abetting a murder suspect.

Summer: Do what you have to do, but I still can’t tell you where my mom is because I don’t know.

Chance: [ Chuckling ] You are playing a dangerous game right now.

Summer: This is not a game to me. You wanna know where she is? Give me a guarantee that she won’t be arrested.

Chance: I can’t do that. Especially now that you’ve admitted you know more than what you’re saying. You’re taking a big risk withholding information like this, I hope you know that.

[ Phone ringing ] Chancellor. Yeah. Thanks. Um, I’m on it.

Summer: Was that about my mom?

Chance: You really expect me to tell you after you’ve given me nothing?

Kyle: Phyllis has been hiding out in a suite at the athletic club.

Diane: What?

Jack: I’m calling the police right now.

Kyle: No, I already did. Chance and I went there. She’s gone.

Diane: How did you know where she was?

Kyle: Summer led me right to her.

Jack: Wait. Summer knew where she was?

Kyle: Has for a while.

Diane: Are you serious?

Jack: She has been lying to us this whole time?

Kyle: She begged me not to tell anybody, but I’m not giving phyllis a free pass. This has to end.

Diane: Yes, it does.

Kyle: Summer has been betraying all of us for weeks. Summer not only knew phyllis was alive, she’s known where she was long before any of us found out.

[ Diane scoffing ]

Abby: How are we supposed to know that this is real? Because it– it feels fake. I mean, are we just supposed to take his word for it?

Devon: Yeah. ‘Cause we’ve been through this before too. And you– you know that marriage is a sacred thing, right?

Tucker: Yes. Of course, I know that. And I’m making a lifelong commitment.

Abby: Hmm. Yeah. Well, meanwhile, my mom is just sticking it to diane.

Ashley: Okay. Just hold on a second, abby. All right? As tucker said, there are real, real feelings here.

Abby: Oh, yeah. Like vindictiveness, hatred, irrational fear. Those are all real feelings. But this is really about diane, right?

Tucker: Well, your mother is right to have her suspicions about diane’s motives.

Ashley: Yes, I am. I’m very right. She’s a danger to our family and to our family’s company.

Devon: How is she dangerous? She’s on trial for murder, right?

Tucker: You guys didn’t hear?

Ashley: Oh, boy.

Devon: Hear what?

Abby: Hear what?

[ Tucker laughing ]

Ashley: Phyllis faked her death. She did.

Devon: What?

Ashley: She faked her death and she’s still somewhere, I don’t know, wandering around.

Tucker: No one knows where. And the police have proof that she’s alive and so they’ve dropped the charges against diane.

Ashley: Yeah.

Devon: What are you talking about?

Abby: Wait, are– are you serious right now?

Devon: There’s no way that happened.

Ashley: Yes, it happened. I mean, it’s fantastic that phyllis is alive, obviously, but now, diane is so full of herself. I mean, jack doesn’t think she can do anything wrong, so she’s more of a threat than ever before.

Chance: You don’t hear too well, do you?

Nick: Excuse me?

Chance: Nick, I told you not to take matters into your own hands when it came to kirsten. I thought you knew how important that was.

Nick: What the hell are you talking about?

Chance: Did you go to this guy’s hotel room, nick?

Nick: Yes, chance. I did. To talk to him.

Chance: There wasn’t an altercation?

Nick: What are you getting at?

Chance: Let me spell it out for you, man. Cameron kirsten has filed a complaint. He would like to press charges against you for battery.

[]

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue.

Devon: Huh. So, now that diane has been proven innocent, you guys just want torment her?

Ashley: I’m trying to protect my family’s company, devon.

Abby: That’s a terrible reason to plan a wedding.

Tucker: Ashley and I know better than either of you what diane is capable of, so.

Ashley: Exactly. She wormed her way into a job at jabot when nobody wanted to hire her. I know what she’s gonna do next. She’s gonna convince my brother to bring her on somewhere in senior management, and she will use that position to wreak havoc within the company.

Abby: Honestly, mom, what can diane really do with uncle jack and billy in charge?

Devon: Yeah. I mean, she doesn’t really have any business experience, so how would she cover her tracks?

Abby: Unless there’s something that we’re missing?

Ashley: We wanted to share this information with you because obviously we want– we want you to know what’s going on in our lives. Please keep it private. Please. If this becomes an issue with the board, I’m hoping that I can count on your support, abby.

Abby: Support? What’s going before the board?

Ashley: I’m hiring tucker to be a part of our senior management team. And I’m also floating the idea of removing jack as ceo.

[ Abby exhaling ]

Abby: I knew it. I knew you were behind this. You are using my mom all over again.

[ Summer sighing ]

Daniel: Hey, where is our favorite detective?

Summer: I was trying to plead my case with him.

Daniel: Any luck?

Summer: I thought that maybe I was getting somewhere, but then he got this phone call and he shot me a look, and then he just walked off.

Daniel: Did he say what the phone call was about?

Summer: I’m guessing it was a lead about mom and he took off after her.

Daniel: This is exactly what we don’t need. Mom getting scared and skipping town because she’s afraid she’s not gonna be treated fairly.

Summer: Well, it’s probably exactly what happened. Daniel, we might not ever see our mom again.

Daniel: No, do not go there. We are not gonna let that happen.

Nick: Cameron’s a liar and an opportunist.

Chance: And yet you charged into his room and you let him have it. You played right into his hands.

Nick: Let him have what? I showed up. I gave him a piece of my mind and told him he had to leave town.

Chance: You assaulted him, nick.

Nick: You wanna know what happened or not?

Chance: Look, I have to take you in. I have to read you your rights.

Nick: What are you talking about? Sharon and I told you what kind of guy he is. He framed sharon for murdering her ex-boyfriend. He is a psychopath.

Chance: That doesn’t make it okay for you to go beat the hell out of him.

Nick: I didn’t do that. I did not hit him.

Chance: Then what was said? What happened?

Nick: I told him he had to stay away from everyone in my family and that he had to leave town. That’s it. He has done nothing but terrorize sharon and stalk my daughter. He killed her cat. Was i supposed to just let that go?

Chance: You were supposed to let me handle it.

Nick: Well, you didn’t handle it, chance. You should heard him with all this crazy talk. He said he was gonna try and seduce sharon.

Chance: Is that when you hit him?

Nick: Who’s not listening now?

Chance: I know what you said, nick, but I have been told otherwise.

Nick: This is the truth.

Chance: Nick, we have been here before, man. We’ve been here. I gave you the benefit of the doubt when ashland was killed. I can’t do that again.

Nick: I was just making a point, all right? But clearly, he is not leaving town. This is his next desperate move.

Cameron: Detective chancellor.

Chance: Kirsten.

Cameron: Wait. You’re just gonna stand here like chatting with my assailant? Or maybe you wanna arrest him at some point, huh?

Abby: All this talk that you are a changed man was just a pack of lies.

Devon: Yeah, man. Are you– this is– you’re trying to pull a stunt like this? Really?

Abby: How are you not disgusted by this selfish, manipulative man?

Ashley: It’s not easy. However, you’re wrong about him. He’s had nothing to do with my plan for jabot. If anything, he’s tried to talk me out of it on many, many occasions.

Devon: Really?

Abby: Is this you talking or him?

Tucker: She’s telling the truth. I have been pushing her to walk away from jabot and leave it to the abbotts, start something new with me, but if this is what she wants, I’m all in.

Ashley: It’s true. And if anybody’s using anyone, it’s me. Tucker says he loves me. He wants a real marriage. Listen, I wanna protect my family’s company, so don’t blame him, okay? I’m the one that made this call.

Chance: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.

Nick: Let me look at you. Whoever did that to you, I’d sure like to shake his hand.

Cameron: Like you don’t know who did this to me.

Nick: You’re a liar. I never touched you.

Cameron: You didn’t touch me? Look at my face. Look at his knuckles.

Chance: Okay. All right. Let me see your hands.

[ Nick chuckling ] Yeah, it’s pretty banged up, nick.

Nick: This didn’t happen from punching him.

Chance: How’d it happen?

Nick: Like I said, he was running his mouth, so I hit the wall out of frustration.

Cameron: That’s true. He hit the wall with his first punch, but the next three after that? Look at this. What? Do I need any more proof?

Abby: I, uh, please forgive me. I didn’t realize.

Ashley: You didn’t ask. You just assumed.

Tucker: Well, you can understand why she would jump to the worst possible conclusion with me. I’ve given her lots of reason to doubt me and–

Ashley: That’s true.

Tucker: And my intentions over the years. So if I were in her shoes, I’d do the same. Both of you.

Devon: Well, let me say that I’m sorry I misjudged you as well.

Tucker: No apology necessary.

Abby: Look, I’m happy that you’re not on board with my mom’s whole fixation with diane, but I’m not happy that you’re trying to tempt her away from jabot. That’s her legacy. She earned it.

Ashley: I agree with that. And I’m not planning on going anywhere. And I’m not planning on letting jack hand over the keys to the kingdom to diane. And that’s why I’m very happy I– I’ve got this man’s support.

Kyle: Summer shut me out. She was in so much pain, or so I thought, and I pleaded for her to let me help, but she lied and lied and lied some more. She could not have hurt me more if she had stabbed me in the heart. So tell me, how am I supposed to get past that?

Jack: How long did you wait before you called the police?

Kyle: Until the initial shock wore off. Then I knew what I had to do. I had to tell them, even though summer is now in trouble, all caught up in phyllis’s mess.

Jack: You– you did the right thing. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but she had to know there were consequences. And then she broke your heart. This is inexcusable.

Diane: You’re– you’re right. But try to see this from summer’s point of view. How can we blame her for protecting her mother?

Kyle: After what phyllis has done? After what they’ve both done? How– how can you be so understanding?

Diane: No, I– I understand what summer did. Phyllis, not at all. Think about it. She put her children in a terrible position. Forcing them to lie to people they love.

Kyle: No– no one forced summer to lie to me.

Diane: Phyllis did. She knew that summer would do anything she could to protect her mother. Summer didn’t have a choice. All right, all right, kyle. Kyle, think about it. What if the situation was reversed and you had to choose between phyllis and your own mother? Who would you protect?

The thought of getting screened

Devon: All right. Should, uh, we get round two?

Abby: He means drinks, uh, not fighting.

Tucker: Yeah, I think it’s time we said our goodbyes.

Ashley: Yeah.

Abby: Really?

Tucker: YeaH.

Abby: I mean, ’cause we haven’t even gotten our food yet.

Ashley: I know, but we’ve given you so much to absorb in such a short period of time. A lot of stuff.

Tucker: Yeah. Next time. We’ll go somewhere with dominic and we will stay away from wedding talk and business talk and we’ll keep it nice and neutral.

Ashley: Yeah.

Devon: Okay. That’s a good idea probably.

Tucker: All right.

Devon: Yeah. Thanks.

Abby: I, um, I’d like to talk about this more with you. I mean, in private. I don’t wanna fight. I just wanna understand.

Ashley: Of course. And– and I love you. And thank you for the cocktails. And thank you for listening.

Abby: You’re welcome. I love you.

Tucker: Talk to you later.

Devon: Good one. Yeah.

Abby: Good night.

Tucker: Yeah. Good night. Thank you for the invitation.

Ashley: Bye-bye.

Devon: See you, guys.

Abby: Oof! Okay.

[ Devon laughing ]

Abby: Whose idea was this again? Oh, never mind. That’s right. It was mine.

Devon: Yeah. It did not go the way we thought, did it?

Abby: Those two baffle me.

Devon: Oh, me too.

Abby: I– I don’t know who I’m more worried about. Your dad using my mom or my mom using him.

Diane: I am not condoning what summer did, obviously, but we shouldn’t judge her too harshly. She must have been scared to death.

Jack: You’re holding summer blameless? She could have told us at any time, saved us a world of torment.

Diane: And phyllis could have prevented this whole thing months ago. I guarantee that any torment that we’ve been feeling, summer has suffered twice as much. She’s not the villain here. She’s as much of a victim as any of us. I am trying to empathize with what our daughter-in-law has been going through.

Jack: Well, you are a better person than I am.

Diane: Well, first of all, no, I’m not, but summer must have been overwhelmed by the circumstances. Circumstances that her mother created to save her own skin. If we should blame anyone, it’s phyllis. Kyle, I am so sorry. My– my heart aches for you because you have been badly hurt, but so has your wife at the hands of her own mother and that is really unfair. I– I– I think summer deserves our compassion and our forgiveness.

Kyle: You are… amazing.

Diane: Don’t say that. I’m not. I just know that you and summer have something that is really special and I– I don’t wanna see you toss your marriage aside just because her mother is a destructive narcissist. Kyle, I’m not even sure you realize how valuable and– and unique your relationship is, but I just, I don’t want you to lose someone who truly loves you.

Kyle: I– I just don’t know if I can turn the other cheek. There’s been too many lies and too many days of watching her suffer and blaming myself for not being what she needed. Summer didn’t just choose phyllis over you. She– she chose a lie over our marriage. How am I supposed to get past that?

Daniel: Okay. Okay. Let’s just take a breath here and decide our next move.

Summer: I can’t even think about that right now. I might have just lost my mom and my husband.

Daniel: I can’t do anything for you and kyle, but if we put our heads together, maybe we can figure out a way to help mom.

Summer: Everything that we have tried so far has completely failed.

Daniel: So we try again and we keep trying until we find something that works.

Summer: Daniel, she is facing murder charges and there is absolutely no way to prove that it was self-defense. Unless… what if there was a witness? Somebody that saw everything that went down between her and stark that night. Who– who is willing to corroborate her story that– that it was self-defense?

Daniel: Summer, there are no witnesses. Nobody else was there. You know that.

Summer: Yeah, but the police don’T. We’re the only ones who have actually talked to her. There’s a lot of details that the cops don’t know about and stark isn’t around to refute them.

Daniel: This does not sound very feasible.

Summer: Just listen to me. What if– what if– what if there was someone who was willing to come forward for the right price? Who– who is willing to swear that they saw everything?

Chance: Nick, you admitted that you went to the guy’s hotel room. You exchanged words. Your hand is beaten up. His face is beaten up. I have to take you in, man. I’m sorry.

Nick: Fine. I’ll go to the station when I’m ready. I’m gonna go to the ranch first and make sure that sharon and faith are safe.

Chance: No, I will make sure they’re safe, okay? I have to take you, man. Once you go through booking, make sure you call victor, get him on the phone.

Cameron: Sounds like somebody’s getting special treatment ’cause they got a special last name.

Chance: Shut up. Come oN. Come on. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to hire a lawyer and have one present with you while you are being questioned. If you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you. Come on, come on, come on.

Sally: [ Groaning ] Ah!

Adam: What– what is it?

Nick does his best to protect Sharon from Cameron. Sharon keeps a level head and insists that she and Nick will not make the same mistakes as they did with him the first time he terrorized her. She said it’s time to let Victor and Nikki know Cameron is back. She also notes that she and Nick need the resources Victor can provide in order to get protection from Cameron. Nick is hesitant, knowing that his dad’s help comes with strings, but Sharon insists on seeking Victor’s help. Victor vows to do everything he could to keep Sharon safe and posted a guard outside Sharon’s home; also, he’ll have security patrolling the ranch 24/7.

Nick and Sharon learn that Cameron stole the clothing of a security guard at Newman Towers, including ID. Cameron wore the uniform to his hotel room, but then he took it off and placed it in a trash bag.

Ashley and Tucker have a drink. Ashley is upset by the thought of Diane further insinuating herself into Jack’s life. Ashley insists she has to be around to protect Jabot from Diane’s suspected goal to gain respectability, money and power.

Tucker, frustrated with Ashley’s worries about Diane, offers to take Ashley on a romantic vacation – anywhere she chooses. However, Ashley insists she has to stay and keep an eye on Diane. Sshe spoke to the Board of Directors about her suspicions, unbeknownst to Jack. Ashley wants to get the board on her side to keep Diane out of an executive position. Tucker notes it’s going to be difficult to get the board to oust Jack. Ashley wants to enlist Tucker’s help to take down Diane, whom Ashley expects will worm her way into an executive position.

Diane and Jack dance at the club, savoring Diane’s freedom. Diane wants them to walk down the aisle together. Jack loves the idea. Diane wants Summer to be her matron of honor, to prove to Summer that she is important and loved. She also wants the wedding day to prove Phyllis has no power over the family. Diane credits Jack for the happiness they share and Jack happily says he could not be more excited about their future and wants to discuss a wedding date. Diane says she wants a small but elegant wedding and for Harrison to be the ring bearer. Jack agrees.

Kyle follows Summer to the hotel where Phyllis is staying. Kyle insists on their going to the police station, so that Phyllis can turn herself in. Phyllis looks a bit defiantly at Kyle but apologizes for what she’s done. She says she wants to make amends for what she did to Diane and admits that she does need to be punished. Before the police get involved, she wants the chance to clear her name. She claims that she returned to do the right thing, just like Diane did. Phyllis compares her actions to Diane’s, saying that both women returned because they could not be away from their children.

Phyllis speaks privately with Daniel. He can’t believe what Phyllis put her children through. Phyllis promises to never again be separated from her family.

Phyllis explains to Kyle that she resented Diane because she had everything Phyllis wanted and that she wanted Diane to be hurt. Jeremy Stark convinced her to go along with his plan to frame Diane for Phyllis’ murder. She claims that Stark took advantage of both she and Diane and the only way out for Phyllis was to hurt Jeremy. Kyle responds angrily that she killed Jeremy. Phyllis argues that she had to defend herself. Kyle points out skeptically that it’s Phyllis’ word against a dead man’s. She notes that her life is now in Kyle’s hands. She swears to Kyle she will make everything right. He finally agrees to not go to the police for now. He then turns his attention to Summer and asks her how long she’s known that Phyllis was alive.

Sally: Hello, stranger.

Nick: I’m sorry that I’ve been out of touch, but I can explain.

Sally: Oh, I hope you don’t think we have to be joined at the hip. But what’s going on?

Nick: I had my hands full of something that’s not nearly as fun as being here with you. But I’m here now, and I want to hear everything. How’s baby girl? Is she still doing somersaults in there?

Sally: Actually, things could be better.

[ Footsteps approaching ]

Faith: I thought I smelled you baking something. What’s going on?

Sharon: I’m cleaning and baking.

Faith: To distract yourself from current events?

Sharon: It had to be done. Now is as good a time as any. Are you in the mood for some cookies or some croquet? How are your roommates doing?

Faith: Completely freaked out for me. Sad for borgnine. He didn’t deserve that. And they’re worried about you.

Sharon: Me? Why?

Faith: When the mom who sends the best care packages is in trouble, the ladies at five west give a damn.

Sharon: Are you worried?

Faith: I mean, it does kind of feel like we’re living in a horror movie. Dead cat and a stalker? Just don’t go in the basement.

Sharon: That’s not going to happen, okay? We’re going to sort this out.

[ Slamming on door ]

Faith: What the– mom.

Sharon: Are you expecting anyone?

Faith: You?

Sharon: No.

[ Lock rattling ]

Summer: Thank you for meeting me.

Chance: Yeah, I had a few minutes. I’m assuming this is about phyllis?

Summer: Have you heard anything yet?

Chance: Summer, you’ll be the third or fourth person to know.

Summer: What would it take to call off the all-points bulletin?

Chance: Already told you. Bring her in.

Summer: Treating her like she’s a threat to public safety, it’s giving the wrong–

Chance: Look, she killed a man, summer.

Summer: Not by choice. It was kill or be killed.

Chance: All right, well, we need to hear the full story from her. Now, if that’s all you have to talk about, I got a lot of stuff to do.

Summer: No, wait. I– I’m just– I’m trying to picture it in my head so that I can manage my expectations.

Chance: For what?

Summer: My mom’s return. I mean, I didn’t think that it was possible for so long.

Chance: Yeah. You, uh– you got lucky.

Summer: I got lucky?

[ Chuckles ] You want to know how I got so lucky? Especially, considering the fact that stark could have killed my mom and nobody would have looked for her because he’d already faked her death? I got lucky because my mom was smart enough to save herself. I’m just saying that a woman like that who can do that, who can save herself when no one else is going to, that woman, she doesn’t deserve to come home to a prison cell.

Phyllis: You have to call me back, supergirl. Even if it’s bad news, please call me back.

[ Sighs ] Because now that kyle knows where I am… oh. My future is in kyle’s hands.

Diane: I meant what I said. For every aspect of planning a wedding, there are too many choices. I give up.

Jack: So, you’re okay with exchanging vows in a cow pasture?

Diane: [ Laughs ] With goats and hens as our guests? I don’t know. They might be better behaved than some.

Kyle: Wedding planning? I’m going to get as far away from here as possible.

Jack: Seems like only yesterday that you were planning your own vow renewal ceremony.

Diane: Ah, I loved that setting. It was so romantic, until tucker landed a helicopter in the backyard. Oh, we wanted to ask harrison to be our ring bearer.

Kyle: I’m sure he would love that, but he was our ring bearer.

Jack: Is that a problem?

Kyle: Dad, if I were you, I would do the exact opposite of what summer and I did. I think our vow renewal ceremony was bad luck. Everything was going along just fine, and then…

[ Snaps fingers ] Cursed.

Jack: Hey, hey. What’s gotten into you? Why are you talking like this?

Diane: Because of summer? You two are such a team. Is she still sleeping in the pool house?

Kyle: We have a lot going on.

Diane: I know, I know, and I’m really sorry about that.

Kyle: Anyway, I– I– this should be a happy time for y’all and I don’t wanna bring you down.

Diane: Kyle, you know that parents can’t be happy unless their children are. Even an adult child.

[ Sighs ] This is all because of phyllis, who is out there somewhere. Am I wrong?

Kyle: Yeah, I’d better go.

Jack: Hey, you want some company?

Kyle: Yeah, I’m just gonna go to work. I have to solve a few problems there.

Diane: Kyle. We love you.

[ Door shuts closed ]

[ Lock rattling ]

[ Lock rattling ]

Mariah: Knock, knock. Is anybody home? Guess who forgot their key.

[ Sharon sighs in relief ]

Sharon: Mariah.

Mariah: Hey! I’m so, so sorry. I forgot my key at home and I didn’t think that I would be interrupting a croquet match?

Sharon: Um, I was just cleaning out a closet.

Mariah: Mom, if you were really that scared, you should have called the police.

Faith: Next time, say something sooner, so we don’t have to panic.

Mariah: I’m sorry–

Faith: You know that cameron is still out there.

Mariah: I know, I know. I– I wasn’t thinking.

Sharon: This just has us all on edge, which is why I want to apologize for what I’m about to say.

Faith: What?

Sharon: Faith, I think it’s time you leave.

Nick: I’m so sorry I wasn’t here.

Sally: You have a life.

Nick: You’re a big part of that life.

Sally: And I want to hear all about it.

Nick: It’s not a contest. Ladies first. What’s going on?

Sally: Don’t be alarmed. Doctor says we are not in the danger zone yet.

Nick: Already not liking this conversation.

Sally: What exactly do you know about pre-eclampsia?

Nick: Unfortunately, a lot. I’ve been down this road. Elevated blood pressure in pregnancies can lead to complications.

Sally: Yeah, well, um, I don’t have it… yet. And as long as I keep my blood pressure down, and maybe, get, I don’t know, approved for some prenatal yoga classes, then…

Nick: You sure you’re okay?

Sally: Yeah. Yeah, and I’m gonna keep it that way, you know? Very, very peaceful. Very calm. If I could just meditate this headache away.

Nick: Did you tell your doctor about that?

Sally: Yes, yeah. They said it could be from my medication, so I’m just going to grit my teeth and bear it.

Nick: You’re just gonna tough it out.

Sally: For now, yeah.

Nick: What can I do? What do you need from me?

Sally: Just you being here makes me feel better. I’ve told you this before, but you’re like magic.

Nick: I wish that trick worked in every other part of my life.

Sally: What fire were you putting out whenever I was trying to track you down?

Nick: Trying to figure out what will stress you more. Knowing or not knowing.

Sally: [ Sighs ] Okay. Cards on the table. All of ’em.

Nick: Okay. Several years ago, sharon and i put away a very bad man, but now he’s back and he is dangerous. (Tap, tap)

Faith: You want me to leave? I can’t abandon you. That’s against family policy. Tell her, mariah.

Mariah: You’re going to have to give me the updated terms, ’cause I don’t really know what rule she’s breaking.

Faith: Times get tough, we stick together.

Sharon: If anything happened to you, do you think I’d be able to forgive myself?

Faith: But I can protect myself.

Sharon: He knows who you are, where to find you. He knows how much you mean to me.

Mariah: You’re her achilles heel.

Sharon: He knows that I would do anything for you and he is evil enough to use that against me.

Mariah: And as a newly minted member of the mom club, mom’s gonna be a lot stronger knowing that you’re safe.

Faith: But– no. Don’t you see?

Sharon: I’ll be fine.

Faith: You won’t because you’ll be alone.

Sharon: What are you talking about?

Faith: If I leave, who is going to protect you? How the heck did he get past security? And what if it happens again? We don’t have rey anymore, mom. Mariah’s busy with the baby. Who’s gonna be here to play croquet? Or hold your hand when you’re scared, huh?

Sharon: I will be fine.

Faith: You always say that.

Sharon: That’s because it’s always true. Besides, I have nick, your grandparents, and the security team here is actually quite top tier.

Faith: But he got past them anyways, which means cameron is really that dangerous.

Sharon: I love that you want to protect me, but that’s not your job.

Mariah: Sorry, kid.

Sharon: I want you someplace safe, okay? So I don’t have to worry about you.

Faith: You can’t just push me away like that. This is so not fair.

Sharon: Faith, do this for me.

Faith: I will go, but I’m not happy about it. When I text, I want answers immediately, or I’m calling emergency numbers and I’m on the next plane back.

Sharon: Well, thanks for the warning.

Faith: And the second that psycho is back behind bars, I’m coming home. I mean it.

Sharon: Yeah.

Summer: It was self-defense. He coerced her into doing everything she did. I mean– chance, you know my mom, she’s not a criminal. She was doing what she had to do to survive.

Chance: Like I said, it would help to hear all of this from phyllis.

Summer: Why don’t you interview nate hastings and elena dawson? I mean, they were there. They were at the gala, they examined my mom, and they said, in their medical opinions, she was in distress. I mean, that’s gotta mean something, right?

Chance: Just gonna help explain some things–

Summer: He drugged her! He gave something to her that affected her physically and mentally. I mean, how else would he have gotten her to go along with this scheme?

Chance: You don’t know that for a fact.

Summer: But it’s possible. Shadow of a doubt, it could help strengthen her case.

Chance: Look, the only thing that we found in her system was the poison, that’s it.

Summer: Well, did they check for an agent that could have affected her brain? Did they check for that?

Chance: Summer, there is no evidence to back up phyllis’ side of the story, none.

[ Summer sighs ] We don’t even have her word, all we have is hearsay.

Summer: Chance, she’s been through enough, I just want her to be able to come home.

Chance: You do know that any actions you take could result in you being treated as an accessory?

Summer: I don’t scare easily anymore. The only thing that really scares me is the idea of losing my mom forever because I’ve been through that once, and that was enough.

Chance: Look, summer, in the eyes of the law–

Summer: Oh, you mean, in the eyes of christine. ‘Cause she’s the problem, right? She’s got a vendetta against my mom.

Chance: This case has nothing to do with personal grievances.

Summer: Are you new here?

[ Chance chuckles ]

Chance: Okay, so you don’t think she can be fair?

Summer: I think that christine has the opportunity to publicly humiliate my mom. Sure, justice might be blind, but our enemies don’t forget. And that’s when you’re– you’re supposed to be able to turn to your friends, and I– chance, I’m just asking you is there anything that you can do?

[ Chance sighs ]

Nick: So, I gave the guy a very strongly-worded suggestion that he leave town immediately. We will see how brave he is.

Sally: Did this suggestion have anything to do with your knuckles?

[ Nick sighs ]

Nick: Nobody got hurt. And I can take care of myself. Right now, I’m more concerned about you. Are those tears in your eyes?

Sally: It’s just the cat. And your hand. Gosh, this is the saddest thing I’ve ever heard.

Nick: I probably shouldn’t have brought up the cat.

Sally: I mean, who does that? Seriously, the poor thing was so defenseless, I– god, what a monster.

Nick: The cat was just a message letting us know that he can get to us whenever he wants.

Sally: Well, that guy better hope that I never see him.

Nick: Listen to me, sally. If you do see him, you run. You call the police, okay? You don’t talk to him, you don’t even catch him looking at you.

Sally: Okay, well, what does he look like?

[ Sally sighs ]

Nick: Here.

Sally: Oh, my god. I know him.

Nick: You recognize him? You saw him? Where?

Sally: In the park. I met him. Oh, my god.

Nick: I need you to tell me everything cameron said or did. Did he say or do anything that made you feel threatened?

Sally: No. He couldn’t have been nicer. You’re the one that’s scaring me.

Nick: I’m sorry. It’s just, if you knew this guy the way I do–

Sally: He was like, two feet away from me.

Nick: This face?

Sally: Yes. Absolutely.

Nick: Tell me everything.

Sally: Okay, well, I was walking through the park when I got dizzy, double vision.

Nick: Right.

Sally: And then, a man, this man, just came up to me–

Nick: Son of a bitch!

Sally: And he asked me if I was okay, and I– I told him that I had someone else to call.

Nick: Then you called me?

Sally: Yeah, and then, he stayed with me until help came.

Nick: That guy?

Sally: Yeah. He was nice.

Nick: He’s not nice, sally. He’s not. All right, cameron kirsten is dangerous as hell.

Sally: Okay, well, he couldn’t possibly know that you and I are together.

Nick: He is thorough. He is making his way into sharon’s inner circle. I mean, he showed himself to you and to faith.

Sally: Okay, okay, but there’s no way that this guy could’ve staged to be my knight in shining armor. I mean, he was in the right place at the right time. It was a coincidence. It wasn’t some targeted strike.

Nick: How can you be sure of that?

Sally: First of all, no one could have possibly known that I was gonna get dizzy. Not even me. And I have also staged a few accidental meet and greets in the past, I know what it looks like, I know what it takes. This was not choreographed. He had no idea who I was.

Nick: Well, we need to make sure it stays that way.

Diane: Here you go.

Jack: Thank you. Kyle’s right, you know.

Diane: About the curse of vow renewals?

Jack: No, we need to get back to the business of planning our wedding.

Diane: [ Sighs ] Did you get the feeling that there’s more going on with him than he’s telling us?

Jack: Kyle is a grown man entitled to keep the details of his marriage to himself.

Diane: Yes, but how can we help him if don’t know what the problem is?

Jack: By staying out of it.

[ Si

Diane: This is all phyllis’ fault.

Jack: Look, all we can do is be here for kyle when he needs us. In the meantime, we have other problems brewing.

[ Twig snaps ]

Mariah: I kickbox and I know how to use my pepper spray.

Kyle: At the same time? I’m scared.

Mariah: Oh, kyle.

[ Laughs ] It’s you.

Kyle: What was that warning for? Everything all right?

Mariah: No, it wasn’t– it wasn’t a warning, it was– listing my special skills. You know, like you do at the end of a resume. I juggle, I waterski, I speak french.

Kyle: None of which is true.

Mariah: Like you don’t lie on your resume, kyle?

Kyle: Oh, in terms of special skills, I got you beat. I know how to marry the woman of my dreams and turn her into the invisible woman with a heart of stone.

[ Mariah laughs ]

Mariah: I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry, I don’t mean to laugh, it’s just– you look awful. Like you’ve been sleeping on the wrong side of the bed.

Kyle: God, that’s odd, ’cause I’ve had the whole bed to myself.

Mariah: I– what can I say? Grief is– is rough.

Kyle: It’s true. But summer stopped grieving a long time ago.

Mariah: Kyle, it’s been three months. Her mother just died.

Kyle: Mariah, can you keep a secret?

Mariah: Why would you ask me that? You know I can’t keep a secret.

Kyle: Well, you have to keep this one.

Mariah: Um, okay. Yes, I can do that for you. So, what’s happening?

Kyle: It feels like everything’s happening. And what I do next will change the course of my and summer’s lives.

[ Door clicks open ]

Phyllis: Hi. Oh, gosh. I’ve been texting you like a crazy person.

Summer: Well, I have been busy.

Phyllis: I should think so after kyle showing up here.

Summer: I have bad news.

Phyllis: All right. How bad?

Summer: Everything is about to hit the fan.

Phyllis: Everything everything? Okay. You told kyle the whole truth, didn’t you? ( )

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue. And we’re done.

Sally: You look like you need to go.

Nick: I really do. I have to check on sharon and faith. If I leave you here alone, will you be okay?

Sally: Um, yes. Yeah, yeah. I will be extra careful and I already have the voice assistant programmed on my phone. All I have to do is– hold on, watch this. Call nick.

[ Phone ringing ]

Nick: I mean, extra points for ingenuity. I’m not kidding. If you see this man again, you treat him like he is poison, okay?

Sally: Okay. But the same goes for you. Please don’t get into any more fist fights. Even if it is just an innocent wall.

Nick: I’ve called in backup. The right people are on alert. My dad’s security team, gcpd, they’re on this. Cameron kirsten’s time is up.

Kyle: So that’s what’s been going on. What do you think I should do?

Mariah: No, you– you can’t ask me to do that.

Kyle: You’re still my best friend.

Mariah: And as such, I’m obligated to tell you the truth.

Kyle: That’s what I want.

Mariah: No, I– I don’t think that’s actually what you want because if I tell you the truth, it could put our friendship at risk and I– I just can’t risk that.

Kyle: What could you possibly say that would ruin–

Mariah: I have tried very hard because you love her to see the good in summer and accept her. That’s what friends do. But friends also speak up when they see trouble. I don’t trust summer. I never have. I don’t know if I ever will. There. I said it. I’m sorry.

Kyle: You should have seen us in italy. We were so happy.

Mariah: But now you’re here in her natural habitat where she’s surrounded by people who encourage and normalize her bad behavior. I know that you love her, I do, and love is amazing, but the truth is, she chose her mother over you, kyle. She knew phyllis was alive and let your mother get blamed for phyllis’ murder. I– I mean, to me, that is reprehensible. And if you hate me for saying all of this, then you know what? So be it. I love you enough to risk losing you by telling you what’s in my heart. Which is more than I can say for your wife.

Summer: We left here, we went home, he started piecing everything together and I– I had to come clean. I didn’t have a choice.

Phyllis: Okay. Full disclosure, right? Okay. How’heak

Summer: It was horrible. And the insults that he was hurling at me, I mean…

Phyllis: Oh, summer, I’m so sorry–

Summer: No.

Phyllis: I’m so heartbroken over this. I’m so sorry.

Summer: He’s right though. He’s right about all of it. I mean, I– I chose you over everyone. I chose you over his mom and over him.

[ Scoffs ]

Phyllis: I’m sick about this. I really am.

[ Summer sighs ] I want to fix it. I’m sorry. Um, this is all my fault.

Summer: Yeah, it absolutely is, but you know what? We actually don’t have time for that right now because we need to go.

Phyllis: Why? What’s wrong?

Summer: Kyle is furious, mom. You’re no longer safe here. We need to leave.

Diane: I can’t believe a woman as brilliant and confident as ashley is rushing to marry that conman, tucker. And you really think it’s all part of a scheme to take over jabot?

Jack: All signs seem to point that way.

Diane: Well, should i look for another job to try and avoid a family war?

Jack: You aren’t going anywhere. Billy and I are working on figuring this out.

Diane: Well, I’m sure tucker is using ashley’s unfounded fears about her place in the company to provoke her. You know, maybe this was part of his plan all along when he wanted me to gather info about jabot. Maybe it’s part of his long game, something he’s been planning for months or years even?

Jack: Billy and i still don’t know who’s behind this, right now is how do we stop them?

Nick: Hey. I heard you had an eventful few hours?

Adam: [ Sighs ] Uh, yeah. That little girl is keeping me on my toes. Since I can’t watch her 24 hours a day yet, I bought this from the pharmacy. It’s a blood pressure monitor. Doctor said sally might not even need it, but I figured better safe.

Nick: Yeah, it’s good thinking.

Adam: Well, my girl deserves the best. Uh, when I said my girl, I meant the baby.

Nick: Yeah, I know who you were talking about.

Adam: You think I overstepped?

Nick: No, I think that’ll make sally feel better, so it’s smart.

>>Dam: Sure. Sure.

Nick: Hey, before you go, I have a favor to ask.

Adam: Okay.

Nick: I need you to look out for sally for me. I used to pre-rinse dishes cause my old detergent

Mariah: Summer chose her mother over you, okay? And the way that they’re always so busy, it’s like they’re– they’re plotting or scheming and that’s amazing. When that energy is– is focused towards merchandising and marketing, but it is awful when it’s towards friends and family.

Kyle: I’ve known summer for so long. I thought I knew what she was capable of.

Mariah: Summer is her mother’s daughter.

Kyle: That’s easy to say, but you don’t know her like I–

Mariah: I know you and we wouldn’t be sitting here having this conversation if she didn’t break your heart past healing. Kyle, summer has changed you in the following ways–

Kyle: Oh, stop it.

Mariah: No. You need an intervention. Summer is– is going to be summer, but if you’re okay with the lying and the manipulation and always being put in second for the rest of your life then I… I’m going to have to figure out a way not to be friends with you.

Kyle: What? You can’t do that. I– are you serious?

Mariah: No. Yes. Look, I– bottom line, I have a kid now. I cannot be around all of that recklessness. I just can’T.

Kyle: You think I want that for harrison? Full time chaos?

Mariah: You’re choosing it.

Kyle: She’s his mother.

Mariah: Okay. I’m very new at this whole parenting thing, so grain of salt, but at its most basic level, we are supposed to protect our kids, right? Keep them out of harm’s way.

Kyle: Of course.

Mariah: So, if phyllis and summer can do what they did to you and your mother and pretty much everyone else in town, they’re dangerous.

Kyle: What am i supposed to do, mariah?

Mariah: You know what, kyle. And I am so, so sorry.

Adam: What the hell is cameron even doing here? Hey, if he’s looking to cause trouble for anybody, you may need to do something–

Nick: If sharon told you about this guy, I’m sure she said that making smart decisions is not his strong suit.

Adam: I don’t even understand why they would let this guy on the street, so he can continue to torment sharon and hurt other people?

Nick: We are dealing with it, but until he’s out of town and no longer a threat–

Adam: I will look after sally and the baby. No problem.

Nick: I appreciate it. Thank you. And keep me posted if there are any problems.

Adam: Well, what is a problem is that you have now brought this chaos to sally’s door because it’s the last thing that she needs right now.

Nick: He is attacking the margins of sharon’s life, all right? From what I know, he doesn’t know who sally is or how she’s connected to me.

Adam: Yeah, and yet you are asking me to look out for her after you warned me to stay away. So that means you are worried and not just about the pregnancy, you’re worried about this freak.

Nick: We don’t even know if sally figures into his plans, but there’s no harm in being extra careful, right?

Adam: You know what I find telling, nick? Is during this time of crisis, two women in your life need attention and care and which one you’re choosing to focus on.

Nick: You gonna look after sally or not?

Adam: I already told you that I would.

Nick: Then, we’re done here.

Adam: Mm-hmm.

Phyllis: Did kyle use those words? Did he say he was going to the police?

Summer: No.

Phyllis: No? Okay then. Good.

Summer: I haven’t talked to him since our fight though. There’s no reason he wouldn’t go to the police.

Phyllis: Except because he loves you.

Summer: How do i sneak you out of here?

Phyllis: Um, I don’t know. What does it look like on the outside? I mean, what are my chances of getting caught?

Summer: I talked to chance–

Phyllis: You talked to chance?

Summer: It’s not good, mom.

Phyllis: You talked to chance? Wow. Really? You talked to chance? And you’re getting tips from the police about your fugitive mom?

Summer: I was taking countermeasures, yes.

Phyllis: Okay, well, that’s smart. Devious too. I don’t know whether to be proud or cry, quite honestly.

Summer: Mom, are you ready to run?

Phyllis: What if I’m not?

Summer: How can you not be ready?

Phyllis: I’ve been hoping for the best all this time. Maybe I should prepare for the worst, summer. Maybe I should put an end to this and let chance arrest me.

Kyle: Hey, chance. You got a minute?

Chance: Actually, I don’T. I came to tell you exactly what I told your wife. There have been zero credible sightings of phyllis.

Kyle: Until now.

Chance: Who has seen her now?

Kyle: I have.

Chance: You know where she is?

Kyle: Follow me. And we’re done.

Summer: Grab your stuff, put on a wig, you’re not turning yourself in.

Phyllis: Okay, summer, hear me out. Just hear me out, okay? I call chance and I tell him where I am. And I’ll say, I wanted to keep on running but you fought me every step of the way.

Summer: That’s not what I want.

Phyllis: No, but everybody wins. Don’t you see that? Everyone. I mean, chance arrests a big fish, he gets a promotion, he gets accommodation. Kyle’s parents see you as the perfect daughter-in-law who sacrificed everything.

Summer: No, no.

Phyllis: It’s the only way out.

Summer: Mom, we have not struggled to keep you out of prison for this long just to give up now.

Phyllis: I want to give you your life back. You deserve to have your life back. A life that you love so much.

[ Sighs ]

Summer: You would really do that for me?

Phyllis: I’d do anything for you. Anything. Let’s do this.

Jack: This family has been through enough. If there is any way to cut off ashley’s coup attempt before it happens, I want to know about it.

Diane: And her biggest fear is that I’ll have a more powerful role at jabot.

Jack: Seems to be.

[ Diane sighs ]

Diane: Then, why don’t we scare the hell out of her? Promote me. Think about it. This way, we’d show them that the playing field is level and we are ready for battle. She doesn’t have the numbers or the support. She needs to know now before things get heated that we are ready to fight. We want peace, but we’re prepared for war.

Sally: What is that?

Adam: I– uh, I was walking through the pharmacy and I saw a blood pressure cuff.

Sally: And you thought of me? That is so depressing.

Adam: Well, I– I hope that you never need it. Too. Thank you.

Adam: If the next few months are as uneventful as I predict, just donate it to a worthy cause.

Sally: I will do that. It’s the worst gift ever, by the way.

Adam: Well, you’re gonna have to get used to putting on a lot of fake smiles for all the boring gifts from now on ’cause the baby will get all the good ones.

Sally: As it should be. Shouldn’t you be somewhere doing something?

Adam: The truth?

Sally: It’s always a good option.

Adam: I’m exactly where I need to be.

Sally: Hm. Did someone suggest you keep a watchful eye?

Adam: If nick and i are working together, you know it’s for a special cause.

Nick: You okay? Is it faith?

Sharon: Yeah. She’s leaving. I’m sending her away.

Nick: That’s smart. Just until we get this guy back in prison.

Sharon: I know, but–

Nick: You hate it that he’s got any power over you and you’re gonna miss your daughter like crazy. Or maybe this is dragging up some bad memories that you haven’t fully dealt with yet?

Sharon: I’m sorry.

Nick: No, sharon, don’T. Don’t apologize. I know where cameron is. I tracked him down. He’s at the athletic club.

Sharon: What happened?

Nick: I just, uh, let him know that we’re watching him and what will happen if he tries anything else.

Sharon: Do you think you got through to him?

Nick: I hope so. But I’m glad faith is taking off. Just in case this dirtbag tries to press his luck.

[ Banging on door ]

Chance: Gcpd, open up.

[ Knocking on door ] Phyllis, police. Phyllis? Are you sure–

Kyle: She was here.

Chance: Well, another dead end.

Kyle: No. Somebody tipped her off and helped her take off in a hurry. My wife. If you find summer, you’ll find phyllis.

Diane persuades Jack to promote her to chief talent officer at Jabot.

Kyle tells Jack everything Summer has done to help Phyllis and Diane tries to persuade Kyle that Summer was trying to protect her mother and she can’t be blamed for what she has done. Kyle tells Jack and Diane he isn’t sure he can forgive Summer.

Summer tells Daniel she plans to pay someone to say that they saw Phyllis kill Jeremy Stark and that she did it in self-defense.

Sharon sends Faith back to college to keep her safe from Cameron Kirsten.

Nick tells Sally about Cameron and shows her a picture of him so she can stay away from him. Sally tells Nick she met Cameron when she had her dizzy spell at the park. Nick tells Adam that Cameron is stalking Sharon again. Nick asks Adam to take care of Sally for him.

Summer tells Phyllis everything is about to hit the fan, so Phyllis decides to turn herself in to the police.

Kyle has a long talk with Mariah and he tells her everything that is going on with Summer and Phyllis. Kyle later finds Chance and takes him to Phyllis’s room at the Athletic Club, but the room is empty. Kyle tells Chance to look for Summer and he will find Phyllis.

Jack tells Diane that he and Billy think Ashley wants to marry Tucker so Tucker can be on the board of directors of Jabot. Diane suggests Jack give her a promotion so she can help him and Billy fight Tucker and Ashley.

Adam tells Victor that he wants to get rid of the music division of McCall Unlimited and concentrate on the streaming divisions of the company. Adam tells Victor he is going after Newman Media and Victor is upset about it but Adam is going to do it anyway.

Faith finds Borgnine dead by the front door of Sharon’s house. Sharon calls Chance and Nick and tells them that she knows Cameron is trying to warn her that he is coming after her. Chance takes the cat to the lab to determine a cause of death. Chance later tells Sharon and Nick that the cat was poisoned. Sharon tells Nick she thinks Cameron came inside the house because the cat has been in the house all day. Nick tells Sharon he is going to find Cameron and put an end to this once and for all.

Kyle finally figures out that Summer knew her mother was alive and lied to him to protect Phyllis. Kyle is most upset that Summer let Diane stay in jail and didn’t tell the truth. Kyle tells Summer he isn’t sure if he can forgive her and walks out of the house.

Nate: Is it wrong that I get excited when our podcast numbers come in? I know you’re not a fan.

Victoria: Actually, I’ve been listening to it on the treadmill. Yeah. Figured if you were so hot on it, then maybe it was something worth checking out.

Nate: Oh, okay. Um, and?

Victoria: And, well, that true crime series that you recommended is intense. I can see why it attracts so many listeners.

Nate: People can’t get enough of it. The ad sales are a major revenue stream.

Victoria: Well, you can’t argue that. Maybe we should reinvest some of that money into the genre and build on a good thing we have here.

Nate: Already on it.

Victoria: Of course you are. What are you smiling about?

Nate: Victor’s inviting me for drinks.

Victoria: Alone?

Nate: Uh, it just says sometime soon. Doesn’t sound pressing. What’s your best guess?

Audra: I think I know. I just saw victor at the athletic club. We were talking about you.

Billy: So then I said, “I quit, I’m out of here. I’m gonna sell my car, buy a motorcycle and hit the road and see where it takes me.” Then, guess what he said to me back?

Chelsea: Uh-huh.

Billy: Yeah? What did he say? What did you think?

Chelsea: What– what were you saying?

Billy: Nothing vaguely interesting, that’s pretty obvious.

Chelsea: I’m sorry.

Billy: It’s all right.

Chelsea: They released the numbers for the soft rollout for my game last week. You know how omegasphere was quietly testing the waters of their products?

Billy: Oh, yeah. I’m very aware. I’m actually playing and I’m doing pretty well. My– my emotional intelligence rating went from needs improvement to vaguely self-aware.

Chelsea: Hm. So, you’re the one who’s playing.

Billy: Oh, come on. Can’t be that bad.

Chelsea: I have the lowest user numbers for my game. It’s a dud.

Billy: It’s not a dud. It just– it takes time to find an audience. It’s gonna be all right. You know, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. How about I take you out for dinner? We can get your mind off of things?

Chelsea: You don’t have to do that.

Billy: It’s not exactly a chore. I’d like to.

Chelsea: Well, it doesn’t mean you should.

Nikki: Hi, darling.

Victor: Hello, sweetheart.

Nikki: Listen.

Victor: There we go.

Nikki: I just checked on sharon and faith and I am beyond upset. That human garbage poisoned faith’s cat and left it on the porch for her to find. She is devastated.

Victor: I’m well aware of it.

Nikki: That man has got to stop terrorizing our family.

Victor: Sweetheart, cameron kirsten will be taken care of.

Nikki: By whom? Because nicholas is not answering his phone and I’m worried he’s going to take matters into his own hand again.

Daniel: I don’t know how much longer I can take this.

Lily: Take what?

Daniel: I can’t say.

Lily: Daniel, how can I help you if I don’t know what’s going on?

Daniel: Things with my mom and my sister are about to explode and I am worried about the fallout.

Nick: Open up, cameron! I know you’re in there.

Cameron: Hi, nick. Took you long enough to find me.

Nick: You wanted to be found? Here I am.

Cameron: Now what? You gonna come in here and you’re gonna teach me a lesson? Boy, you are painfully predictable. We’re done.

Lily: Okay, what is going on with summer and phyllis and why are you worried?

Daniel: I haven’t been completely honest because I don’t want to risk implicating you.

Lily: Okay, this sounds serious.

Daniel: It is.

[ Phone chiming ] I have a meeting I have to get to, but I’m gonna postpone it because I wanna hear what’s going on.

Daniel: No, no, no. Don’T. I’ve got some place I need to be too. Um… why don’t we meet up later and I’ll tell you everything?

Lily: Are you sure? You just said things are gonna explode.

Daniel: It’s better this way. I’d rather just text you when I’m free.

[ Lily sighing ]

Lily: Okay, I mean, it’s gonna be hard to concentrate on anything else, but I’m here for you, okay?

Billy: Did I do something wrong?

Chelsea: No. No. You have been as sweet and attentive and– and as loving as always.

Billy: Then why don’t you let me take you out for dinner?

Chelsea: Because you’re doing it for the wrong reasons.

Billy: But you do have to eat, don’t you?

Chelsea: It’s not what I mean.

Billy: Okay, well, I guess I don’t follow then.

Chelsea: You’re–

[ Chelsea sighing ] You’re trying to distract me from my worries. Keep me from thinking about what’s bothering me. You wanna save me. You wanna be my hero again.

Billy: I promise you, I will keep my cape at home. Hey, it’s just dinner.

Chelsea: Dr. Malone and I, we’ve been talking about us.

Billy: I thought we got the green light from her on us, you know, as long as we took our time and kept our eyes wide open.

Chelsea: Well, we’ve been talking about how we initially bonded. You saved me, literally. There’s no way around that.

Billy: Is that a bad thing?

Chelsea: No. But maybe, because of that, you feel like you have to keep saving me and I would never want you to feel that way. I’m– I’m doing well. I’m doing great, actually, but if I’m not, I never want you to feel like it’s because of something you did or didn’t do.

Billy: So, I’m not helping? I don’T…

Chelsea: You’ve been amazing, but it’s not your job to fix me. And even there’s a tiny part of you that feels like it is, we have to talk about it and figure out how to handle it.

Victoria: So, you think that you have better insights than I do as to why my father wants to have a drink with nate?

Audra: Oh, not at all. Um, it’s not a competition. I just, uh, thought I had an explanation and it would be valuable to share it.

Victoria: Please do.

Audra: Well, I spoke with victor after you two headed up to the corporate suite at the athletic club. You know, to go over those figures.

Victoria: Yes, I remember.

Audra: Well, victor seemed really interested in your working relationship. You know, he was quizzing me about it, and of course, I went out of my way to sing nate’s praises as a great boss.

Victoria: As well you should.

Audra: Yeah, well, we were talking, you two came downstairs and left together. That’s when he got really interested. You know, I talked up how inspiring the both of you are as leaders, how in sync you are, so I’m sure that’s why he wants to meet with nate. After the glowing report he got from me, I’m sure he wants to congratulate you on earning your employee’s respect. He probably wants to give you a bonus.

Victoria: Wow, you really do know how to read a situation, don’t you? That’s exactly right. That’s exactly the kind of effusive praise and gesture that my father is known for.

Nate: Thanks for putting in a good word.

Audra: Anytime.

[ Nate sighing ]

Nate: That was audra’s not so subtle way of saying victor saw us coming down the stairs and leave the athletic club together.

Victoria: Yeah, no kidding. So, what if he did?

Nate: Well, it does shed a new light on the timing of his drink offer.

Victoria: How so?

Nate: Does victor really want to sit down with the ceo of newman media, or is this a test of the new guy in his daughter’s life?

Victoria: Being tested by my father isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I think that means that he is taking you seriously. In my book, that’s a good sign.

Victor: So, in other words, you’re worried nicholas will go too far with this cameron kirsten slimeball?

Nikki: Yes, I am. He’s done it in the past and I– I know he’s working with chance and our security team to find him, but I also know his history with that maniac.

Victor: Sweetheart.

Nikki: He will do anything to protect sharon and faith.

Victor: A man must do what he feels he has to do to protect his family, that’s all.

Nikki: Yes, but you and i both know what instincts he’s having right now and after what cameron did to that poor cat, if nicholas finds him, he’s gonna lead with his fists–

Victor: Good.

Nikki: Not his head.

Victor: I’ll be there to back him up, if need be.

[ Nikki sighing ]

Nick: You wipe that smug look off your face, you coward. You’re terrorizing a mother and her daughter. You killed an innocent animal. What’s the matter with you? How’d they ever let you out of prison?

Cameron: I don’t know, man. The justice system, it’s a mystery, right? As far as killing innocent animals, I– I got no idea what you’re gassing on about. I’m here for one reason and one reason only, sharon.

Nick: Oh, you’re gonna stay away from her.

Cameron: Hm, not your call. You’re not married anymore. She’s fair game.

Nick: Are you insane? She despises you.

Cameron: I can change that. I think she’s warming up to me already. You’re in my personal space, nick.

Nick: You shut your mouth. Here’s how this is gonna play out. See, I told the police and newman security exactly who you are and what you’re capable of. If you so much as smile at sharon or faith, they’re gonna haul your ass back to prison before you can say “parole violation.”

Cameron: Empty threat. You got no grounds.

Nick: Your track record is grounds enough.

Cameron: I did my time. I’m reformed and I’ve got the parole board’s stamp of approval to prove it.

Nick: Sharon is not the same woman she was all those years ago when you manipulated her. She’s stronger, more confident and fearless now.

Cameron: Just as beautiful as the day I met her. And you are not gonna get between us this time. I promise you that. What are you gonna do? You gonna hit me? Because I got a legal right to defend myself, nick, so you go ahead. You take your best shot. Do it. Do it. Hit me!

Nick: Yeah, next time, it’ll be for real.

[ Cameron laughing ]

Chelsea: I’ve upset you.

Billy: No, it’s okay. It’s all good.

Chelsea: It’s my fault. We should’ve had this conversation sooner.

Billy: So now we’re having a conversation on how to handle the situation. Let me ask you honestly. Um, do you feel like I have a need to play hero?

Chelsea: It’s not an indictment. I’m not saying you’re doing anything wrong.

Billy: But you’re talking about it with your therapist, so it’s bothering you, right? Or it’s bothering her.

Chelsea: I think you are wonderful and I adore you, but yeah, I think it bothers me a little bit that your instinct, if something’s bothering me, is to distract me.

Billy: It’s not– I mean, do you blame me for wanting to see you smile?

Chelsea: Yeah, but you can’t stop me from ever having an unhappy thought.

Billy: I feel like that’s a very natural thing, you know. I care about you, so I want to see you joyful. I want to see you happy.

Chelsea: Of course, but it’s not realistic to expect that all the time and you have to trust me that if I’m having an unpleasant thought, I can handle it, and if I can’t handle it, I’ll talk to you about it.

Billy: Okay, well, um, I gotta be honest, that does kind of bother me a little bit.

Chelsea: Do you wanna discuss it?

Billy: I do, but, um, look, I’m not dodging. I’m really not. I have to go meet victoria. We gotta talk about the kids, so, uh… can we just pick this up later?

Chelsea: Of course.

Billy: Okay. Bye. Hey.

Daniel: Hey.

Chelsea: Hey.

Daniel: Hey. [ Sighing ] Sorry I’m late. Been a hell of a day already.

Chelsea: I think I know the reason. It’s me, isn’t it. My game is a flop.

Nate: I should be getting back to my office.

Victoria: Well, before you do that, let’s strategize about this drink that you’re gonna be having with my father.

Nate: Well, I was thinking rye, neat.

[ Victoria laughing ]

Victoria: Let’s figure out what it is he wants and what your approach will be.

Nate: I appreciate your offer, but I’ve been through a lot over the years with victor newman. I’m not worried about a little one-on-one time with him.

Victoria: Well, you know, plenty of men would be unnerved by an invite from victor newman.

Nate: I’m not your ordinary guy.

Victoria: No, you are not and it is undeniable sexy how this doesn’t throw you, not even in the least.

Nate: Mm. I’m finding that few things intimidate me lately. It makes the possibilities seem endless. And I have you to thank for that.

Lily: Well, no, I don’t care if the gaming bloggers want stats now, they’ll get them when I saw say so. Okay. Hi.

Billy: Hi.

Lily: Um, I haven’t seen you, since, uh…

Billy: Since our very awkward double date?

Lily: Yes. That was interesting with the kids, too.

Billy: Yeah, that was weird, even by my standards.

[ Lily chuckling ]

Lily: It was fine though, I mean, once we all loosened up.

Billy: Yeah. So, how are you and– and daniel doing?

Lily: Uh… slow and steady. How are you and chelsea?

Billy: Same-ish. Maybe a little bit more wobbly than steady.

Lily: I mean, I don’t want to pry, but is– is everything okay?

Billy: Yeah, everything’s fine. You know, I just spent most of my life waiting for other people to solve my problems and now, I’m swinging in the other direction.

Lily: Right. Fixing problems you haven’t been asked to.

Billy: Problems, situations, people.

Lily: Well, I am happy that you’re thinking about it.

Billy: Yeah, not sure I would have if certain people didn’t bring it to my attention.

Lily: Now, you just gotta find that balance between saving the world and falling apart.

Billy: Seems easy, huh?

[ Lily laughing ]

Lily: One of the hardest balancing acts I know.

Billy: Something to aspire to.

Cameron: You’re gonna wanna to get some ice on that, sport. That’s gonna leave a bruise.

Nick: You’re gonna check out of this hotel and you’ll be gone in the morning.

Cameron: You’re not hearing me, nick. You’re gonna have to drag me out of here in a bag! I got no intention of leaving. I got things to do, women to seduce. And guess what? I’m free to do that. I have broken no law and I haven’t hurt anyone or anything, be it human, feline or inanimate.

Nick: You have been harassing sharon since you got here.

Cameron: Oh, come on, man. I– I’ve seen her once in the coffee shop and you were there for most of it.

Nick: Which is why I know exactly what your intentions are.

Cameron: Hey, you know what? It– it’s kind of sweet how protective you are of your ex-wife. A little sad because she no longer wants or loves you, but super sweet.

Nick: You are going to stay away from sharon and faith and you will be gone by the morning.

Cameron: Or what?

Nick: You don’t want to find out. My a1c was up here; now, it’s down with rybelsus.

Victoria: Well, I would like to continue this discussion, but I have a meeting.

Nate: Oh, anything I should tag along for?

Victoria: Unfortunately, no. It’s personal, it’s not business.

Nate: And here I thought I was both.

Victoria: Aw, you very much are. I won’t be long, I promise. And feel free to use the office. Knowing that you’re waiting for me here will give me an excellent reason to hurry back.

Audra: Well, well. You don’t seem to be wasting any time, are you?

Nate: What do you want, audra?

Audra: Well, just to admire how you operate. The fact that you and victoria ever get any work done is impressive.

Daniel: I promise that my poor mood has nothing to do with your game. It will find its audience, I am not worried. I mean, I’m dealing with some other stuff and its personal, it’s not professional.

Chelsea: Of course. You’re still grieving the loss of your mom. And here I am making it about myself. I’m so sorry for– for projecting my insecurities onto you.

Daniel: Don’t apologize. Look, you just launched your baby out into the world. Of course you’re gonna be feeling vulnerable.

Chelsea: It’s crazy, right? How a game can make you feel so protective? How things like user reports can make you feel so vulnerable and insecure?

Daniel: Mm, I’ve seen the numbers from the soft launch. They’re not through the roof.

Chelsea: Yeah. That’s putting it nicely.

Daniel: Mm-hmm. But we are getting good word of mouth on social media.

Chelsea: You are?

Daniel: We are. Yeah, it’s like our mental health consultant said, people, they are more willing to talk about their emotional struggles online, and it seems like they are seeking guidance outside of traditional avenues. We’re poised to be that.

Chelsea: How can you tell?

Daniel: I was monitoring this discussion thread this morning and people were already pointing to your game as a positive tool for dealing with anxiety.

Chelsea: Really?

Daniel: Mm-hmm.

Chelsea: Huh. Is it ironic that I’ve been too anxious to look?

Daniel: I totally get that. Um, besides, you know, people online, they can be vicious, but take a look at this.

Chelsea: “This game has helped me practice how I talk to my mom about how upset it makes me when she yells at me.” Hm.

Daniel: You know what that means?

Chelsea: It means we’re actually helping people.

Daniel: We are actually helping people and that is worth a hell of a lot more than numbers.

Billy: Hi.

Victoria: Hi. Thanks for meeting me.

Billy: Of course. You said this is about the kids. Is everybody okay?

Victoria: Oh, yeah. Everybody’s fine. Um, well, we were talking at breakfast and uh, the kids are both very excited about camp.

Billy: Yeah. I’m trying not to take it personal that they can’t wait to get away from us for a whole summer.

Victoria: Well, you should brace yourself because johnny brought up boarding school.

Billy: And I hope you assured him that we don’t plan on sending him this year.

Victoria: Oh, no, not exactly. He wants to go. At first, I thought he was kidding, but uh, he’s not, and then katie got all excited about the idea, so I told them that I would talk to you about it.

Billy: So, today’s the day I find out that nobody actually needs me anymore.

Victoria: What? Where’s that coming from?

Billy: Don’t worry about it. Um, look, you know how I feel about boarding school.

Victoria: Oh, yeah. You hate it.

Billy: Yeah. My own personal experience wasn’t exactly warm and fuzzy.

Victoria: Well, this is about johnny and katie, billy. It’s not about you.

Billy: You’re right. You’re right. And if this is what they want and we visit often, then I’m not gonna say no.

Victoria: So, is that a yes?

Billy: It’s a reluctant one, but I guess this is, you know, good continuity from last year and it is a great place for both their passions.

Victoria: Yes, yes. That is exactly how I feel. Johnny would be able to continue the coding classes that he loves and our daughter has straight as, so she can spend all of her free time horseback riding.

Billy: And you’ve really thought about this. Where’s all this enthusiasm coming from?

Victoria: Well, it’s what the kids want.

Billy: You sure this doesn’t have anything to do with your budding relationship with nate? When you really need to sleep.

Announcer: The young and the restless will continue. Sweet pillows of softness!

Victoria: I hope that you’re not implying that I wanna ship the kids off because it would give me more time to date because you are way too smart to say something so stupid, billy.

Billy: That’s never stopped me before. But you’re right, it’s none of my business.

Victoria: Was that supposed to be an apology?

Billy: Vic, I know that you would never put some guy above our kids and I’m sorry, that was a jerk thing to say.

Victoria: Yes, it was. Where did that come from?

Billy: I don’t know.

[ Billy chuckling ] You know, earlier today, I got chastised for doing something that I thought was the right thing to do and now, I’m taking it out on you.

Victoria: Me seeing nate isn’t gonna be a problem for us, right? Because I’m not sending the kids away, I’m just letting them gO. Those are two very different things. You know, I– I wanna give them the best and if that includes some new school adventure, even though it breaks my heart because I’m not gonna see them every day, I wanna give them that.

Billy: No, you’re right. And it is gonna be hard, but it’s the right thing to do for them.

Victoria: And where did this come from? That nobody needs you anymore? I mean, the kids need both of us, just in different ways.

Billy: Now, I feel really bad because you’re being so nice and I was an ass.

Victoria: Look, holding on to the kids just because it makes us feel better to have them around isn’t gonna do them any good. We have to give them space, and then, we’re their safety net if they ever need us.

Daniel: Chelsea, this game, it was never about zombies or unicorns. It’s about finding real solutions to human problems. That means seeing things from a new perspective. You know, real change? It’s hard. You have to trust, you have to commit, it takes time and it can be scary.

Chelsea: I can attest to that.

Daniel: Yeah. You’re a living, breathing example. I mean, you’ve taken all your pain and all your struggles and you’ve turned it into something positive. Omegasphere.

[ Chelsea laughing ]

Chelsea: Omegasphere.

Daniel: I hope you’re proud of what you’ve accomplished.

Chelsea: Well, I’m getting there, thanks to you. I mean, you should be proud too, you know. You took a chance on me when not many people would have. You’re a good guy who wants to do good things.

Nick: Your security team’s tip was right. Cameron was at the athletic club. He needs to be watched 24/7.

Victor: How did you know that?

Nick: I went and, uh, confronted him there.

Nikki: Oh, my god. This is exactly what I was worried about.

Victor: Did you touch him?

Nick: No, sir. Not a hair on his head.

Victor: There, you see.

Nikki: Oh, my god. Your knuckles.

Nick: The wall wasn’t so lucky.

Victor: Right cross? Uh-huh. Well then, he got lucky.

Nick: I’m sure I got his attention.

Nikki: Yeah, and maybe a broken hand.

Nick: I’m fine, mom.

[ Phone ringing ]

Nikki: It’s the office. I have to take this. Please promise me you won’t do anything rash until I deal with this.

Victor: Okay, there, sweetheart.

Nick: What happened to that security guard who had his uniform stolen?

Victor: That loser? Stuffed in a closet. Stripped down to his underwear, for heaven’s sake. I fired his ass.

Nick: Good.

[ Phone chiming ]

Victor: Oh. I spoke with nate hastings about having a drink with him. Um… okay.

Nick: So, our family is dealing with a stalker, but you have time to go and socialize with an opportunist?

Victor: You’re saying that whilst being involved with an opportunist?

Nick: What does that mean?

Victor: Sally spectra is a noose drawn around your neck. Don’t you see it? Especially now that she’s pregnant with your brother’s child.

Nick: You have no idea what you’re talking about, all right? Cameron’s a threat to our family right now, but you’re wasting time taking shots at the mother of your next grandkid.

Victor: And cameron kirsten will be dealt with. Sally spectra, from now on, will be part of our lives. Ever wonder why kit kats are so delightfully crispy?

[ Daniel sighing ]

Lily: Hi. Oh, wow.

Daniel: Do you have any idea how much I appreciate you?

Lily: I mean, that hug gave me an idea, but I feel like something else is going on.

Daniel: I met with chelsea, talked about the early response to her game.

Lily: Oh, god. I know. I meant to call her and tell her not to look at downloads or active player numbers and just focus on the good the game is doing.

Daniel: I told her the same thing, but I bet she would appreciate hearing it from you too.

Lily: Yeah. I’ll call her, for sure, but hey, what is going on with phyllis and summer and why have you been keeping it from me?

[ Daniel sighing ]

Daniel: As much as I want to be completely honest with you, telling you compromises both of us, so if you don’t want anything to do with it, I’ll just keep it to myself.

Lily: Hey, whatever it is, it’s okay. You can tell me.

Daniel: My mother is hiding out at a room at the athletic club. Cops could be at her door at any second.

Chelsea: Okay, well, it’s definitely not what I wanted to hear, but thank you for letting me know. Bye.

Billy: What happened?

[ Chelsea sighing ]

Chelsea: That was connor’s teacher. He, apparently, is not raising his hand in class and he’s keeping to himself during free time. She thinks he’s shutting down.

Billy: Mm.

Chelsea: I thought he was pulling himself out of this mood. Apparently, it’s just gotten worse.

Billy: Well, I’m dying to figure out a way to fix this, or at least, distract you from being worried, but I won’T.

Chelsea: Thank you.

Billy: Instead, I will ask you, do you need advice? Reassurance? Or just someone to vent to?

Chelsea: You have given me enough reassurance just by making it clear you trust me to handle this on my own.

Billy: I’m learning. It’s an imperfect process.

Chelsea: Right? We’re doing our best. It’s all we can do. So, I think I’m just gonna talk to connor tonight and try to get through to him and maybe some ice cream will help.

Billy: Now that is a good idea.

Chelsea: Uh-huh. One step at a time, right? One day at a time. Thank you for helping.

Billy: I don’t feel like I did anything.

Chelsea: You listened. And now, let me return the favor. What can I do for you?

Nate: You might want to work on your discretion. You shouldn’t talk about your bosses at the office like that.

Audra: Uh, you and I have an agreement. I didn’t think I needed to pretend like I don’t know what’s going on.

Nate: You don’t, with me, but you might want to back off with being so blatant with victoria.

Audra: Well, I think she enjoys a sparring partner. If she respects me as someone who will speak her mind, I’ll be well positioned to take over when she promotes you.

[ Nate chuckling ]

Nate: I appreciate your positive thinking about my ascendance, as well as your own.

Audra: Like I said, we’re in this together.

Nate: By the way, I used the information you shared about the tech team’s video production capabilities to impress victoria with an idea I had for newman’s real estate division.

Audra: Clever. Making newman media useful to newman enterprises. Oh, and I looked at those upcoming negotiations with our ad buyer you– you mentioned and I was able to work some magic.

Nate: So, our mutual aid club is working.

Audra: Which is why I wanna get back to what I walked in on earlier: Victor’s drink invitation. He’s on to you.

Nate: We’re not concerned.

Audra: Well, he may not mind your relationship, but you don’t want him thinking that, you know, you are slacking on the job and encouraging victoria to do the same.

Nate: Victor doesn’t strike me as a clock watcher. He’s a man about results, not hours behind a desk.

Audra: Hm. If you say so.

Nate: Now, nick newman, on the other hand…

Audra: Yeah, he could definitely be an issue. You know, it’s clear he considers you a threat and that is not a man who will back off easily.

Nick: What is your real issue with sally? Because dad, this goes far beyond the protective father thing.

Victor: It’s very simple. You’re wasting your time and energy. You have other things to worry about.

Nick: Dad, you are the one who is fixated on this pregnant woman who has done nothing to you. You need to be focused on the threat that cameron poses.

Victor: And I am, and I will deal with that bastard, but you forget about sally spectra. You start paying attention to sharon and faith, who really need you. I’m here for the dunkin’ run, campaign, commercial.

Billy: What makes you think that I need something?

Chelsea: I can see the concern in your eyes.

Billy: I guess I’m a little knocked off my game. You know, it’s– it’s bad enough that the kids are gonna be gone at summer camp all– all summer, but… now victoria told me that the kids want to go to boarding school next fall and I’m sad and I’m confused because they don’t need me in the same way anymore.

Chelsea: Billy, that is hard. I’m sorry. And I wish I could fix it for you, but–

Billy: But you won’T.

Chelsea: No, but I will ask you a question that a very wise friend recently asked me. Do you want advice? Reassurance? Or just to vent?

Billy: Definitely the last two, with a double scoop of chocolate chip mint ice cream.

Chelsea: Oh, my treat.

Billy: Mm.

Chelsea: Let’s go talk.

Victoria: Oh, hi. I’m glad you’re still here.

Nate: Then, why do you sound on edge?

[ Victoria sighing ]

Victoria: Well, my meeting was with billy and, um, we almost got into an argument. Well, we worked it out, but he made a jab that kinda got under my skin.

Nate: Why do I suspect it was about me?

Victoria: Well, it wasn’t about you, specifically. It was more the idea of us. I think that what we have is confusing to people. They can’t categorize it, so they– they don’t understand it.

Nate: They’re not wrong.

Victoria: What do you mean by that?

Nate: To some, it might look like we’re just colleagues with benefits.

Victoria: I consider you much more than that.

Nate: So, maybe we make it official. How about I take you on a date? And not another one of our working meetings.

Victoria: Are you serious? Like, cocktails and dinner?

Nate: Maybe even dessert and dancing.

Victoria: All right. You’re on.

Nick: You know, you just don’t understand my relationship with sally. That’s fine. Just keep it to yourself, all right? I’ve had it up to here with your judgment.

Victor: Really?

Nick: Yes, sir. Excuse me. I’ve got a lot to do.

Nikki: What happened?

Victor: Hi, sweetheart. Um… to put it simply, our son is… spread too thin. He has a lot of things to deal with.

Nikki: Well, we both agree on that. I just don’t want his temper to get him into trouble.

Cameron: Jimmy, hey. Got a job for you. This one’s gonna require a face-to-face. Bring your right hook, you’re gonna need it.

[ Cameron breathing deeply ]
