Brady noticed that Nicole was wearing the same outfit she had on the day before. She told him that she told Rafe that she wanted to be with Eric. She also let Brady know that Jada was pregnant. She told him what happened when she found out about the baby. She told him that she hadn’t spoken to Eric since she found out the news. Brady told her to call Eric, but she felt like he would do the right thing and stay with Jada. Eric looked at Jada’s number while he was at the pub. Rafe showed up and saw Eric there. He gave him Nicole’s laptop because he thought she would need it. Eric told him that she wasn’t there. He apologized to Rafe, but he didn’t want to hear it. Rafe wondered why Nicole didn’t stay with him. Eric told him that Jada was pregnant. Rafe wondered what Eric was going to do about it. Jada walked in the pub to get her stuff. Rafe wondered if she needed help. He didn’t want her to keep lifting heavy things. Jada was upset with Eric for telling Rafe about her condition. She told him that he could have Nicole because she didn’t want anything to do with him. Eric told her that they were in it together now. Rafe left them alone to talk. Eric said that he would support any decision she made. She was surprised to hear him say that because he used to be a priest. He told her that he left the priesthood twice. He couldn’t make demands. He let her know that he always wanted a child. He told her that she would be able to count on him for support. She wanted to know where that left him and Nicole.

Nicole told Brady that she couldn’t ask Eric to turn his back on the one thing he wanted his entire life. Brady reminded her that he wanted her too. He felt like they deserved happiness. He hoped they would find it together. She thanked him for being her best friend. She hugged him just as Rafe walked in the room. He threw her laptop on the table and made a dig about her moving on from Eric so fast. She explained what she was doing with Brady. Rafe felt like she was trying to keep her options open. He told her that she could never come running back to him. Gabi and Stefan had a heated exchange at DiMera Enterprises. Chloe entered the room and saw them together. Gabi was surprised to find out that Li gave Chloe a promotion. Stefan implied that Li was hiding stuff from her. Gabi gets her wedding invitation proofs and shows them off. Stefan noticed their wedding date was on New Year’s Eve. She wanted to know if that bothered him. He thought she wanted more time to plan her wedding. Stefan reminded her that she just told him that she loved him. They talked about when he first arrived in Salem. She wanted to know if he moved on with Chloe. They proved he did so Gabi walked out. Stefan assured her that he had nothing but contempt for Gabi. Chloe wondered if he was sure about that. He said she was the only woman for him. He kissed her.

Chad showed Stephanie the article about Paulina in the paper. She wanted to do damage control. He let her know what the reporters were saying about the Price women. Stephanie wanted to blame Trask and say that she had an axe to grind. She remembered how Trask went after Lani. Chad thought they could get the Spectator to help them. He realized that Jack was out of town and said that Gwen would be the one who could help them. Gwen wanted to get a comment from Chanel, but she wasn’t at the bakery. She ran into Sonny and wanted his comment. He refused to give her one and walked off. Sloane was more than willing to talk to Gwen. She told her that she didn’t want her comment since she was the reason she got arrested. Sloane told her that she was the one who turned in the file over to Trask. She let her know that she would email her a copy of the file. She wanted everyone to know that Paulina had two murderers for children. Later, Gwen was reading the email when Chad showed up. She was surprised by the email. Chad told her the allegations weren’t proven. Gwen didn’t care about that. She thought the file looked legit. He asked her not to do Sloane’s dirty work. Gwen agreed not to publish the story. She wanted to tell the story she wanted to tell. She wanted to go after Sloane and Trask.

Allie left a voicemail for Rafe so she could see Chanel. Alex showed up at the apartment and thought she needed a hug. She told him that her girlfriend was arrested, and she couldn’t see her. She wanted to know how the police got the evidence. Alex said he tried to steal the file from Sloane. Rafe texted Allie to let her know she could see Chanel. Trask wanted to know if Chanel was ready to confess to her crime. Belle came in the room and reminded her that Chanel’s crime happened in the UK. She told Trask that the crime was out of her jurisdiction. Trask has permission to question Chanel on their behalf. Chanel wasn’t going to answer any questions until the arraignment. Trask was prepared to ask Paulina if she wanted to answer why she covered up a crime. Chanel didn’t want her mother to pay for something she did. Trask showed Chanel a picture of a woman named Martha Bedford. Chanel recognized the woman. Trask had a copy of the incident report that she signed. Trask wondered if that was a signed confession that she murdered Martha. Belle said the interview was done. Trask was about to leave and Belle followed her out. Allie showed up and wanted to see Chanel. Allie knew Chanel would never kill anyone. Chanel told her that she was wrong because she did kill someone.

Kayla walked in on Steve comforting Ava. Ava said she was counting on him. She ended up leaving. He told Kayla about Tripp being kidnapped. She said she didn’t understand why EJ would kidnap Tripp. She thought Ava might have done something to him. She thought Ava was hiding something from Steve. He said he would deal with it later. He said he had to go to Seattle. She told him to get two seats because she was going with him. He told her not to go, but she refused to listen. Tony told EJ to pay Ava the ransom. EJ thought his actions made his mother safe. He called Ava and told her not to ignore him. She showed up at the mansion. They threatened each other and made demands on each other. She told him she could have someone shoot Susan. He grabbed her by the throat. Tony took him off of her. EJ told her to leave. She told him to get the money because she was running out of patience. When she left, Tony told him to pay the ransom before something happened. Eric and Jada were shocked that she was pregnant. Jada asked Sarah if the test could be wrong. Sarah said they weren’t. She said she would run the test again. She left them alone to talk.

Jada told Eric she saw him kissing Nicole. Jada said she knew Nicole had strong feelings for him, but she didn’t realize he had feelings for her too. He told her he was in denial for a while. He said he thought he and Nicole were done when he got with Jada. She said she didn’t know what she was going to do about the pregnancy. She said it wasn’t his problem. He said he wanted to make the decisions together. He said he wanted to be there for her. She agreed to what he wanted, but she wanted him to leave. Rafe was furious with Nicole. He said she still had feelings for Eric before they got married. She said there was nothing she wanted more than to be his wife. She said that was before she knew Eric left the priesthood. Rafe said she used him to get over Eric. She said she did. She apologized to him. He told her to leave, but she refused to leave until he understood that she thought she was over Eric and thought she could have a life with him. She told him she meant her wedding vows. She said she wanted them to be the last ones she said. He asked her when wedding vows mean anything to her. He told her marriage was a game to her. He told her to ask Victor, Lucas and EJ. He reminded her that she cheated on Xander. He told her she got what she wanted which was all that mattered to her. She gave him back his ring. She told him she didn’t deserve the ring or him. She said she did everything wrong and he did everything right. He said there was something he didn’t do right. He wasn’t Eric. She left. She ran into Eric. She told him that she and Rafe were over. He told her Jada was pregnant.

Bonnie went to the shed so Xander panicked. He put on the clown costume to go out to the shed. Bonnie tried to free Susan. Bonnie tried to fend him off, but he was too strong for her. He tied her up. Xander walked out. Bonnie tried to scream for help. She wasn’t too worried because Maggie knew she was there. She knew Maggie would get them help. She realized that she brought her phone, but she lost it somewhere. Xander went back to the mansion. Victor got in digs about him. Sarah was paged so Maggie said there would only be four of them for dinner. Maggie got up to look for Bonnie. Victor said it was too dark and suggested Xander look for her. Xander asked Maggie if she got a text. She found out that Bonnie had to rush to Mimi. Xander said he walked out so they were celebrating alone. Xander went back to the shed to show Bonnie the text he sent on her behalf. She realized that if he sent a text about Mimi, then he knew her. He put the gag back on her mouth. Ava couldn’t get in touch with Tripp so she let EJ know that she would kill him if something happened to Tripp. Charlie thought it was funny that EJ thought he got the best of her. She saw that coming. EJ texted her and told her to release Susan. She was going to call Xander, but Charlie stopped her. He told her that EJ was being ruthless and thought she should be the same way.

Jada showed up at Basic Black and saw Eric and Nicole making out. She cried and walked away. Eric pulled away from Nicole and thought they lost their heads. Nicole said her feelings were the same as when they got married. They wanted to admit their feelings for each other, but they weren’t available. He said his feelings for her aren’t the same as his feelings for Nicole. He knew that Jada knew that. He reminded Nicole that she was married. Nicole said she loved Rafe, but she only married him to get over him. He blamed himself for what happened between them. She said she never stopped loving him. She was willing to accept it if he didn’t want to be with her. She knew she had to end her relationship with Rafe. Eric kissed her again. He’s going to do the right thing by Jada because his heart belongs to someone else. They promised not to mess things up this time. Jada met with Rafe. She told him that she saw Eric and Nicole together. He let her know that he just saw Nicole and talked to her about the photo shoot. Jada stood up and fainted in Rafe’s arms. Ava called Steve and told him about Tripp. Steve called what EJ did overkill and wanted to know what she did. She said she didn’t do anything. He didn’t believe her. He wanted to go confront EJ. She begged him to find Tripp instead. Rafe called Eric and told him about Jada. He arrived at the hospital. He talked to Sarah about Jada. Sarah told him that Jada probably had low sugar. She told him that they drew blood so they should know. Rafe talked to Nicole. He apologized for making a big deal out of nothing. She told him that he was right and that she wanted to be with Eric. Eric checked on Jada and she was cold him. He wanted to know what was wrong. Jada was about to respond when Sarah arrived. Sarah wanted to talk to Jada alone, but she wanted Eric to be there. Sarah handed her the test results. Jada was shocked that she was pregnant.

Chad saw Sloan and saw her celebrating. He said she didn’t have a reason to celebrate since she didn’t have any reason to blackmail Paulina since Stephanie took the file. Sloan said she stole the file back thanks to Leo. Chad asked her how much she wanted in order to get it back. Sloan said Paulina would get what was coming to her. She said Paulina had no one to blame but him and Stephanie. She said she went to Trask about it. Chad hurried up and made a call. At the Bistro, Stephanie thanked Alex for getting the file. He said if that was all it took to get a date with her, he would do it all over again. She said it might be time for her to rethink her reason for not wanting to date him. He was happy to hear that. She ignored her phone when Chad called. Chad interrupted their date to tell them about Sloan. Alex wondered how Leo got in Paulina’s safe. Alex wanted to confront Leo. He was at the Bistro with Sonny. Chad and Stephanie stopped Alex from going after Leo. Stephanie asked Leo if Sloan was in Paulina’s office. Leo said she was in the office. He said he opened the safe in front of Sloan. He said he didn’t help her. He said he was distracted when he counted the money.

Stephanie told Alex that she had to get to work. She said she had to take a rain check. Chad left with her. Abe took Paulina to her office. He said he knew the reporters would ask her questions she didn’t have the answers to. He wondered if she did have the answers. She told him Sloan was blackmailing her over Chanel. She said the file was missing from her safe. She said she wanted to see Chanel. He wanted to come up with a plan first. He asked her what Chanel did. She told him what happened. He couldn’t believe she was holding on to that for so long. Paulina apologized for keeping it from him. He said he understood why she did it. He said he would do anything to help. Belle was at the police station with Trask when Shawn brought Chanel in. Belle told Chanel not to say anything. Shawn took Chanel to booking. Allie showed up and told Belle that Chanel was arrested for murder. When Shawn came back, he told Belle and Allie that Chanel was with Trask. Allie asked him to help Chanel. Belle went to the interrogation room. She interrupted Trask’s questions and asked Chanel if she wanted a lawyer. Chanel said she did. Belle told Trask that the interrogation was over. Trask left them alone. Chanel told her about the blackmail file. Belle said she didn’t need to know everything now. She said she wanted to look over the evidence. Allie told Trask that Chanel wasn’t a murderer. Trask said Chanel was keeping a big secret, but it was going to come out soon.

Sarah found Eric looking through his phone at pictures of the photo shoot. She told him that Xander was working late. They talked about her house call with Rachel. He wondered if that was difficult for her. She said she would never get over what happened. She knew he blamed Xander for what happened. He admitted that he did blame him. She credited Eric for why she was able to see the good in Xander. He wanted to try and forgive Xander because he’s her husband. She let him know that Xander has changed. Nicole checked out the photos when Rafe showed up. She didn’t know what was going on with the election. He told her that she was busy being Eric’s model. He wished she told him about what she was doing. He didn’t want to hear about it from Jada. She let him know that it was a spur of the moment thing. He was upset at seeing her in photos with her ex-husband. She let him know that it was Alex’s idea for them to pose together. He wanted her to admit that she had feelings for Eric. She assured him that nothing was going on between them. He thought she was trying to gaslight him. He didn’t think what was between Nicole and Eric was over. She told him that Eric was the past and he’s her future. He heard her, but he felt like she was trying to convince herself. She wanted to talk at home, but he didn’t think they had a reason to talk. Eric showed up so Rafe left the room. Eric wanted to go after him to explain things, but she’s tired of fighting her feelings for him. She didn’t want to keep pretending that she’s not jealous of his relationship with Jada. He said he was trying to do the right thing and not respect her marriage. He says he always ends up with her. He pulled her into a kiss.

EJ was upset that Ava wouldn’t answer her phone. Ava thought it was funny that EJ wouldn’t stop calling her. Charlie tells her that he’s proud of her. Xander went to check on Susan in the shed. She didn’t want the food he was giving her. He walked out of the shed and called Ava. He warned her that he would let Susan go if she didn’t give him the money she owes him. EJ let Tony know that Ava had Susan kidnapped. Ava called him and demanded 20 million dollars. After he wired the money, she would let him know where to find Susan. Charlie was proud that she pulled it off. Tony offered to help EJ move money around to save Susan. He assured Tony that he didn’t have to do that. EJ let her know that he will pay the ransom. Bonnie told Maggie that Chanel was arrested for murder. They also talked about what’s going on between Xander and Victor. Maggie said it was her anniversary, but she couldn’t celebrate it because of the family feuding. Bonnie was determined to get the family together. Xander told Susan that she would be going home. She was happy but wondered how he could live with himself. She noticed his ring and wondered how his family would feel about what he’s doing. She tried to call out to his wife so she could put a stop to what he’s doing. EJ was on the phone and wanted the person to let him know when the plan was done. Tony thought he was paying Ava. He said he wasn’t calling about that. Ava got a picture of Tripp being bound and gagged.

Chad caught Stephanie covering up Paulina’s opponent’s poster with Paulina’s. Stephanie said it was an impulse. She said she wanted to make sure Paulina won. He said he had no doubt Paulina would win. He wanted to take Stephanie out for dinner to celebrate if Paulina won. She said she already had plans with Alex. Chad wondered why she changed her mind. She said she wanted to thank him for the file which saved her job. He said going out to dinner with Alex would make him think she wanted to be with him. She said her opinion about Alex changed. She said she was going to dinner with an open mind. She said Chad was the reason why she wanted to open up to someone again since he wasn’t interested. He wanted to know who said he wasn’t interested. She told him how she heard him talking to Alex about it. He said he didn’t know how to answer Alex’s questions about his feelings for her. He blurted it out. He said he wanted to see where the attraction would take them. He said he was still grieving Abby. He said he wasn’t ready to see anyone seriously. He said he didn’t know if he would ever be. He said he was glad she was ready to date again even if it was Alex. Abe met Paulina in her office. They checked the polls and saw they were leading. Leo came in and said Paulina had messages from the governor and Sloan. Abe wondered why Sloan kept bothering Paulina. Paulina said Sloan wanted a job as her lawyer, but she couldn’t take no for an answer.

When Abe left, Leo admitted to Paulina that Sloan was still bothering him for the money he owed her. He asked Paulina for an advance in his salary. Paulina agreed to give him the money. She got an alert about a meeting and had to give him the money later. Sloan showed up at the Kiriakis mansion and accused him of taking her file. He said he didn’t take it. She didn’t believe him. She walked out of the mansion. Sonny asked him about the file Alex said he stole it for Stephanie. Sloan went to Paulina’s office. She saw Leo. He told her she would have her money. She said she would send in her associates. He was afraid and went in Paulina’s safe. He thought she wouldn’t mind. Sloan noticed the blackmail file in the safe. Abe and Paulina found out they won the election. He said that he was grateful that he was elected, but he was stepping down as mayor to support his wife. Paulina thanked her family and everyone who helped her. While everyone was celebrating Paulina’s victory, Shawn showed up to arrest Chanel on suspicion of murder.

Chloe stops herself from kissing Stefan. He told her Brady wasn’t wasting time moving on from her so she could move on from him. She agreed with him. When he got closer to her, she asked him how it would look to HR if they started dating each other. He said they were on equal ground at work. All they had to do was let HR know about it. He said he was ready to let the world know how he felt about her. He asked if she was ready. She said she didn’t care what people thought. She asked if his feelings for her were real or if someone put them there. He said Gabi believed Rolf’s hands were clean. He said he believed it too. He said he was confused about things lately, but he wasn’t confused about her. He said he wanted to take his second chance at life with her. He wants to make her forget about Brady. He wanted to take her wherever she wanted to go. She agreed to go with her. Wendy and Johnny hoped that finding Ned (the pilot) would lead them to Rolf. Johnny wanted to call Tony and ask him about Ned. She said Tony could be in on it with EJ. Johnny thought she was right. He said Anna had a soft spot for him. EJ talked to Tony about Stefan being brainwashed. Tony was furious. EJ told him not to tell anyone. He said he couldn’t tell Anna. EJ said they were protecting Stefano’s legacy. Tony wasn’t sure how to feel.

Anna went to Allie’s apartment to meet Johnny and Wendy. They told her about Stefan being brainwashed. Anna said she knew what it was like to be manipulated so she called Ned. She told him Tony died and she needed to bring Rolf back from the dead. Ned said he was in Jakarta. After Anna left, got online and made it look as if the jet was being serviced so no one would see where they took it. Ava and Charlie talked about their plan. Xander texted her and told her he had Susan. Charlie told Ava to make her demands to EJ. She said EJ couldn’t know she was behind it. She said she wouldn’t see Tripp again if she had to go on the run. Charlie said the Johnsons were Tripp’s family now. He said he was all Ava had. He told her to make sure EJ knew she was behind what was going on. He said once they get the money from EJ, they could take Henry somewhere where no one would find him. She liked the idea. Xander put Susan in the garden shed. He tied her to a chair and put a sack over her head. She asked him to take it off. He put on a clown mask before he took off the sack. He left the shed and called Ava. He told her to get their money. He went back to Susan. She said he wasn’t evil. She said he was sad. She said she didn’t think he wanted to do this. He said what he wanted wasn’t relevant. He said no one would get hurt as long as EJ did what he was supposed to do. Ava called EJ. She told him Susan was being taken care of. She said if he did what he was supposed to, he would have his mother back in one piece.

Ava packed a bag with the stuff she needed to go through with her plan. She ignored texts from Tripp. She was about to text him back when Charlie appeared to her. He wanted to convince her not to change her mind about going through with her plan to get EJ. Ava wasn’t sure she could do that to Susan. He assured her that nothing would happen to Susan. He reminded her that she already hired Xander to do the job. Brady confronted Kristen about Chloe getting a promotion. She told him that she didn’t do it, but she thought it would be good for them. He thought she could fix it so Chloe could change positions, but he wouldn’t stop loving her. They got into an argument until Rachel stopped it. She guilted them into stopping by telling them about her stomach hurting. Kristen was worried about her so she wanted to call the doctor. Brady told her that Sarah was her doctor. Sarah showed up to check on Rachel. After Sarah left, Brady wanted to check on Rachel. She was glad they weren’t fighting anymore. Stefan wanted to know why Wendy was talking about him. She lied to him about why she was talking about him. She mentioned his resurrection and they talked about Gabi. She let him know that she would hate to see her brother get hurt. She wanted to know if he would ever fall for Gabi again. He wasn’t sure what made his feelings for Gabi change. He told her that Rolf didn’t do anything to change his feelings. He said he was over her. Wendy wanted to know if there was someone else. Chloe walked in while they were talking.

Chloe told Stefan about her promotion. She was happy to get away from Brady. She said she was miserable about the situation. He held her to try to make her feel better. She wanted to forget about Brady so he tried to make her forget. He kissed her. EJ wanted to know what Susan and Johnny were talking about. Susan told him that Johnny missed Ava. Johnny played along and told him about being played by Ava. EJ left to make a phone call. Johnny thanked Susan for covering for him. Wendy texted Johnny because she wanted to talk to him. She sensed danger and wanted him to be careful. Johnny left to meet with Wendy. EJ came back so Susan warned him about her bad feeling. He wondered if Johnny asked her to choose sides. She told him that she wouldn’t do that. Wendy showed Johnny the list of former pilots Li requested. Johnny recognized a name on the list. He remembered the name because Kristen hired him to kidnap two women. EJ and Li knew they could be bribed so they wondered if they could get to Rolf that way. Xander met with Ava at the crypt. She wanted him to grab Susan. He said he didn’t have a plan yet. Ava had a plan and gave him the bag. Later, Xander approached Susan at the DiMera mansion. He grabbed her and took her out of the mansion.
