Nina: Definitely. And the truth is, I actually have a meeting myself. And no, it’s not with Sonny. Alright. Go have fun.

Esme: Not even friendship? Does that mean Trina’s out of your life?

Spencer: If she is, will you be happy? You finally got what you wanted.

Esme: How can you say that? If you’re hurt, I’m hurting for you, Spence. But given the pain Trina’s inflicted on your two closest friends, maybe it’s better this way.

Spencer: Better for who?

Esme: Oh, my god. She finally did it, didn’t she? She actually has you believing I’m the one who made that awful video.

Carly: So, um…

Drew: So?

Carly: So… I’m so, so sorry that I completely and utterly ruined your plan. Had I had any idea that —

Drew: Why?

Carly: Why what? Why am I sorry?

Drew: No, no, no. No, I mean, most people that would have come up and figured out what was going on would have, I don’t know, they would have made an anonymous call to the cops, but you, you just stormed up to confront it head-on.

Carly: Well, yeah. I-I thought you were about to pitch that guy over the bridge and commit murder. That’s why I didn’t start filming right away. I mean, I didn’t want to capture that. Can you imagine? I mean, you facing a jury, trying to explain? “I was conditioned. It wasn’t my fault.”

Drew: “The tarot card made me do it” isn’t a good defense? I don’t get it.

Drew: You’d be at my trial?

Carly: Yeah, of course I would.

Willow: You want to leave for Paris now?

Michael: As soon as humanly possible, yes.

Willow: Uh, but there’s so much to do, so much to plan.

Michael: Well, you know, all you need is your passport, and thanks to your mom, you have one of those, right? And you know what? We’ll just — we’ll just throw some necessities in a suitcase, and as for the rest, the Parisian shops are calling our names.

Willow: Yes. But what about Wiley?

Michael: Who’s Wiley? Our son. Yes, I-I-I-I got it. Okay, well, yes, look, Monica, she offered to watch him. She insisted, actually.

Willow: But that was before she had her hands full planning Jason’s memorial.

Michael: Right. I’d ask my mom, but her life’s kind of crazy right now, though, so…

Esme: I can’t believe you’re buying into Trina’s pathetic attempt to deflect suspicion onto me. I mean, this is ridiculous. When I left a little while ago, everything was fine. Trina pays you one visit and now you throw this baseless accusation in my face?

Spencer: Cameron doesn’t think that it’s baseless.

Esme: And who cares what Cameron thinks?

Spencer: I do! He told me to trust my gut.

Esme: And to not trust me? I mean, open your eyes, Spence. Cam’s always had it out for me.

Spencer: No, not always. In fact, he was on your side until you —

Esme: Until what? U-until I somehow taped him and his girlfriend having sex when I was miles away with you? Do you hear yourself?

Spencer: You managed to torch Ava’s car without being there.

Esme: I did that for you.

Spencer: So did you — you do this for me, too?

Esme: They succeeded. Your friends set out to turn you against me, and they finally made it happen.

Spencer: They didn’t do anything, Esme. They didn’t have to. Not if you did it all for them.

Dante: Alright, so we know Drew was part of this operation Demeter at some point.

Sam: Yeah. And our chances at uncovering it are basically zero.

Dante: Right, ’cause he was a seal and, uh, it was probably some black op we’ll never get near.

Sam: Yeah, but I — maybe Spinelli could get near it.

Dante: Sam…

Sam: Demeter. You know he has his ways, but… I know. I’m not allowed to ask him for help anymore.

Dante: [ Chuckles ] You’re a real piece of work, you know that?

Sam: Yeah, I do know that, but I also know that I’m right, and I think it’s a mistake not to utilize Spinelli just because your ego can’t take it.

Sam: Yeah.

Dante: [ Exhales deeply ] [ Clears throat ] You’re right.

Carly: Do you think I would let you go on trial for a murder you committed against your will with no one in your corner? No way. The next call I would make would be to Diane.

Drew: Oh.

Drew: Call Diane.

Carly: No, call me. I’ll call Diane. I mean, you’re a nice guy and all. [ Laughs ]

Carly: No!

Drew: Oh, okay.

Carly: No, I got it. I got it. If it makes you feel better, it’s a very short list. I mean, there were only three people in the world who could call Diane and no matter what she was doing or where she was, she would pick up the phone.

Drew: Hmm.

Carly: Now there are only two.

Drew: You and Sonny.

Carly: Yeah.

Drew: I still can’t believe that your first impulse wasn’t to run, but — but instead, you just jump right into the mix.

Carly: Well, yeah, it’s pretty on-brand for me. [ Laughs ]

Drew: None of the other stuff even crossed your mind?

Carly: Like what?

Drew: Like your kids, your work, your life, all the stuff that you told me not to jeopardize? For all you knew, I could have thrown you over the side next.

Carly: Oh. I-I didn’t even think about that, but if I had, I — no, I don’t believe you would have thrown me over the bridge, conditioned or not.

Drew: I’d really like to believe that. But that’s what’s… so disorienting is, when it is the right tarot card, there — there is no choice, there’s no — there’s no conscious decision to do or don’t. I just wake up and it’s done, and I literally… I don’t remember anything.

Carly: That’s so scary.

Drew: It’s terrifying.

Shawn: It’s been a while since I’ve seen the guy, but when you’re as notorious as Bucky was, you’re not easily forgotten. And this isn’t news to you, is it?

Alexis: No, Harmony told me about the forger.

Shawn: Oh, I see. So she made you an accessory after the fact.

Alexis: I advised her not to do it, but at the end of the day, Harmony did what she was gonna do, and she did it for her daughter. So is there anything you wouldn’t do for T.J.?

Shawn: Okay, see, now you’re just playing dirty.

Alexis: Is there?

Shawn: [ Sighs ] Ask yourself this, Alexis — are you sure Harmony was thinking about Willow? Or was she just thinking about herself?

Harmony: You and I are virtual strangers. I’ve learned the hard way to guard against people who want to involve me in their own personal problems.

Nina: Fair enough. And yes, I don’t blame you for being cautious, but in this particular case, my problem could also be your problem.

Harmony: You want something.

Nina: I only want what you want, I would imagine — to spend time with your precious grandchild. Or does Michael and Willow, do they make you feel welcome when you’re around Wiley?

Harmony: I get to see him from time to time, if and when it’s convenient for them.

Nina: And what if I told you that we could change that?

Harmony: What do you mean?

Nina: What if you never had to beg or grovel to see Wiley? What if we got his parents to put him first and give us what’s rightfully ours?

Michael: We agreed that Nina gets nowhere near our son. Or has that changed?

Willow: No, no, Nina forfeited her right to be in Wiley’s life, as far as we’re concerned. The courts may have a different opinion.

Michael: The only right that Nina has is a right to file a petition. Let her take her best shot, ’cause we know we’re doing what’s best for Wiley.

Willow: Didn’t we agree that that’s being surrounded by people who love him with no ulterior motive?

Michael: Of course. Could that list maybe include my mom? Look, I know she’s had her issues. Believe me, no one knows that better than I do, but… she’s trying so hard to make up for her mistakes, which is more than we can say for Nina, right?

Jordan: Careful now. Sounds like you’re more interested in selling a story than protecting two innocent kids.

Smoltz: Who says they’re innocent?

TJ: What is going on?

Jordan: That’s what I’m trying to figure out. If what Mr. Smoltz here says is true —

Michael: Despite your mom’s sincere remorse, it’s just — it’s hard for me to leave what she did to you in the past.

Esme: Would it even matter? After all this time together, everything we’ve been through, I can’t believe our history isn’t enough.

Spencer: Yes, of course I do. Where were your friends then? You didn’t have any. The poor, little rich kid, all alone until I came along. And then when you returned to Port Charles and threw that big welcome home party, who wrote up that guest list, huh? Who made sure every single person on it would fly in? You think they came all this way because they liked you? Please. They used you because your last name is Cassadine. All of them, except for me, because I saw the real you, Spence. Your heart, your mind, your endless potential. Sure, you were just a boy, but… I fell for you knowing one day, you’d be a man. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe I was fooling myself this entire time.

Carly: Okay, let’s be practical about this.

Drew: Your specialty.

Carly: Hey.

Drew: I’m kidding!

Carly: Alright, you know what tarot cards work on you, right?

Drew: The chariot puts me under. The tower brings me out.

Carly: And you know what words need to be used?

Drew: “You’re active” and “stand down.”

Carly: Okay, so besides you and me, who else knows the whole sequence at this point?

Drew: Um, I mean, I think a lot of people know that the conditioning is tied to the tarot cards, but…only Jason and Britt knew the actual sequence.

Carly: Well, I mean, look, I’ve had my mixed feelings about Britt in the past, but she would never use it against you. And I — well, I almost certainly wouldn’t.

Drew: I’m sorry, “almost certainly”?

Carly: Yeah, now that I think about it, I should invest in a tarot deck. I mean, just in case.

Drew: And why would you do that?

Carly: You never know when it may come in handy. You know, when Nina’s really driving me crazy.

Drew: Oh, my god.

Carly: I don’t want to wipe her off the map or anything, but maybe — maybe there’s a fire at the Crimson printing facility. No one’s hurt or anything like that, but the magazine fails and Nina has to leave town. I don’t want you to make the mistake that I’m above that, because I’m not.

Drew: Yeah, you are.

Carly: No!

Drew: Look, you despise Nina, but not for one second do I think that you would take away my free will just to mess with her.

Carly: No. I wouldn’t.

Dante: I was wrong. We should have called Spinelli instead of letting my, uh…

Sam: Ego.

Dante: …Ego, yeah, get in the way, and then maybe we wouldn’t be in this position.

Sam: You know, as much as I like to be right…

Dante: Thanks. That’s nice.

Sam: …You’re wrong.

Dante: I just finished telling you I was wrong.

Sam: No, I’m talking about being in this position. It has absolutely nothing to do with you or who put a microphone on Drew, and everything to do with Carly. The plan went sideways. It was not your fault. You are actually doing a really great job.

Dante: Ooh. Wait. Can you — can you say that again?

Sam: Again?

Dante: Mm-hmm.

Sam: I said you are doing a really great… job.

Carly: When you said take away your free will, that really… really made me think.

Drew: About?

Carly: The worst mistakes I’ve made in my entire life are when I went along with someone else’s choice, when I didn’t make it my choice.

Drew: Hmm.

Carly: You know? I mean, I loved Jason for a million reasons, but one that stands out to me is that Jason never did anything that he didn’t choose to do. I mean, he did a ton of things he didn’t want to do, but Jason was the ultimate proponent for free will. I don’t know, I guess that makes this a little easier sometimes, you know? I’m so angry I want to scream at the universe, but… no one made Jason go to that island. He chose it, just like he chose everything else.

Drew: That’s why you two were so close, ’cause you’re the same that way.

Carly: Yeah.

Drew: It’s true, in the end, you just say what you want, everybody else be damned. Jason clearly didn’t have a problem with it.

Carly: Oh. [ Laughs ] He had a problem with it sometimes. A lot of times. You know, that’s why, um… I think as much as it hurt, I had to end things with Sonny. I mean, it was the right thing to do. I mean, it got to the point where I was making myself small every day. I was lying every day, not just to the kids, but him, the world, myself. I mean, I was… I was swallowing so much resentment and anger, I was choking on it.

Drew: You made a choice and you broke free.

Carly: I mean, it’s gonna take a little while before I’m really okay.

Drew: Mm.

Carly: I mean, I miss Avery so much, it hurts. But I didn’t have a choice. Not one I could live with.

Esme: This is what I get for being by your side when everyone else, including your own father, was against you. I won’t be making that mistake again.

Spencer: You know what you mean to me, okay? I haven’t forgotten all that you’ve done for me.

Esme: It sure seems like it. It’s like you’re willing to believe everyone except me.

Spencer: I just want to understand what happened. Someone made that video and sent it out to the entire school. You blame Trina.

Esme: Because she did it!

Spencer: Everyone else blames you! So either everyone’s wrong and you’re right… who am I supposed to believe?

Esme: Me. You’re supposed to believe me, because that’s what love is, Spence, putting one person before everyone else. Either you can do that or you can’t!

Michael: So, yes, we do need to figure out your mom’s place in Wiley’s life. But can we do it on the way to the airport or, you know, on the plane or any of the amazing cafes we’re gonna be eating at? Look, I just — I just want you to myself in the city of lights.

Willow: We still need to figure out who’s watching Wiley.

Michael: Okay, I-I-I will call my grandmother, give her first choice. In the car.

Willow: Let’s get out of here.

Michael: Alright.

Smoltz: Excuse me, Mr. Corinthos?

Michael: Do I know you?

Smoltz: The name’s Smoltz. You must have seen my work in the invader. Do you have any comment on the video?

Michael: Look, we’re in a hurry, so you can contact my office. So you have no comment about your family’s latest brush with scandal? My family is well-versed in so-called scandals, Mr. Smoltz, so…we’re practically immune.

Smoltz: Ah, okay. Hmm. Even when it comes to your sister Josslyn?

Michael: What about Josslyn?

Spencer: I have always put you first — ahead of my family, ahead of my friends, ahead of everyone.

Esme: Then why are we fighting? Look, I know you like Trina and want to believe she’s innocent, but…maybe she did you a favor.

Carly: I do? I love when I do that.

Drew: [ Chuckles ] There is an upside for me coming back and having missed out a couple of years of my life.

Drew: Yeah. I’ve got a completely clear slate. Like, I’m free to… set my own priorities, to — to trust my own instincts, to fill up my life in a way that seems best to me. And yeah, of course, I’ve got obligations, Scout being number one, but it’s not like I’m in a situation where…I’ve made a promise that I can’t keep, or — or — or I’m trapped, emotionally or physically.

Carly: You’re free.

Drew: And I’ve been grateful for that. I mean, I’ve been grateful to be home, but I feel like I’ve been focused more on — on the loss instead of the freedom.

Carly: I think you need to shift your focus.

Drew: I think you’re right. Just let go of… whatever.

Carly: [ Laughs ]

Drew: All the time I’ve lost or dreams I’ve had, just put it down. It’s just gonna… free up so much space to start over.

Carly: Amen to that.

Nina: Legally, grandparents are guaranteed access to their grandchildren, in the state of New York, at least.

Harmony: Even if I wanted to fight for those rights, I wouldn’t be able to afford a lawyer.

Nina: But you wouldn’t have to, because I already have legal representation. But see, that’s not even my point. Yeah, we could come out swinging and we’d probably succeed, but a long, contentious legal battle is not in Wiley’s best interests or in ours.

Harmony: I agree. So what’s the alternative to going to court?

Nina: Okay, separately, we’re in a weak position, right? But together, we can present a united front. I have Michael’s father in my corner, and you have the woman that Michael loves in yours.

Harmony: Willow.

Nina: Yes. So I could put in a good word for you, and you could do the same for me on your end. It could work.

Michael: Something happen to Josslyn? Was she admitted to G.H.? What?

Smoltz: No, nothing like that. Okay, then start talking, because my patience is running thin.

Willow: You know what? Let’s go home. We’ll figure it all out from there, okay?

Michael: No, I’m not going anywhere until he tells me what’s going on.

Smoltz: You really don’t know? Wow. I thought it’d spread like wildfire.

Smoltz: I was hoping you could tell me that. The video has blown up on social media, but so far, no one is taking credit, which makes me wonder, was this their plan?

Michael: A-are you insinuating that my sister purposely leaked that video?

Smoltz: [ Scoffs ] Well… maybe she wanted the whole world to rate her performance. She is quite the athlete.

[ Smoltz groans ]

Alexis: Nothing has changed since you told me you might be heading to San Francisco. I loved when you were staying at the house. I love working with you.

Shawn: Well, so do I.

Alexis: So you know how much you mean to me.

Shawn: I think so.

Alexis: Yeah, I don’t think I would have survived Pentonville without you. I’m — I’m gainfully employed because of you.

Shawn: I’m not looking for gratitude.

Alexis: I know you’re not.

Shawn: I asked if you’re ready, if you wanted to give us another try. I never got your answer.

Alexis: The answer is no. And there are a hundred reasons for that. We’re — we’re different people. I’m still mourning Neil. The timing is bad, and the most salient point is that we had our chance, and it didn’t work, and to go back and — and think that there’s gonna be some magic redo, it’s just… you deserve better than that. We both do.

Spencer: You’re taking what I wrote out of context.

Esme: Am I?

Spencer: Yes. I was referring to the passion that Trina and i share for art history. Don’t try to take it and turn it into something else just to justify what you have done.

Esme: I’m turning it into something else?

Spencer: Yeah.

Esme: You do that every time you choose to believe Trina over me, to trust her over me, to have your little stolen moments with her when you could be spending time with me. And by the way, what makes you think you know her so well anyway?

Spencer: No, of course not. You want to know why? ‘Cause Trina’s not like that.

Esme: But I am.

Spencer: Did I say that?

Esme: I’m capable of anything, right? Nothing’s too low, but Trina, innocent Trina can do no wrong.

Spencer: You’re overreacting.

Esme: No, I am finally calling you out with the truth. You want boring and basic? Have at it, Spence.

Carly: Have you talked to Monica?

Drew: We’ve been ships passing lately. Why?

Carly: She’s decided to have Jason legally declared dead.

Drew: Hmm. I guess it makes sense from a legal standpoint.

Carly: Yeah.

Drew: You don’t think she’d have a memorial for Jason, do you? Because he would absolutely hate that.

Carly: Totally hate it. A bunch of people sitting around saying nice things about him? Oh, my gosh. But he’d tolerate it, because it’s Monica, and he’d want to make her happy.

Drew: You’re right. You’re right. He would.

Carly: Okay, you have to do me a favor.

Drew: Name it.

Carly: We have to make a pact. If — if there is a memorial and we are forced to sit there and listen to people talk about Jason who never really knew him, you have to catch my eye. Seriously, if it looks like I’m about to stand up and say something, if we’re sitting next to each other, you have to kick me.

Drew: Okay, what if I’m not?

Carly: Well, you’re just gonna have to give me a signal or something. You’ll have to pull your ear. You’re gonna have to blink a couple times. Whatever. You just have to stop me.

Drew: How about this? How about… [ Inhales deeply ]

Carly: Take a breath and count to 10.

Drew: Is that good?

Carly: That’s perfect.

Drew: [ Sighs ] Four days.

Carly: Four days, what?

Drew: The amount of time that we were on Cassadine Island, giving me a chance to know Jason as my brother. It just came down to four days, and now I’m left grieving all the things that we’ll never get a chance to do.

Carly: Drew, I’m so sorry.

Drew: What am I even talking about? I mean, that — that’s nothing compared to what you’re going through.

Carly: No. Yeah, I have this big, gaping hole in my life that’s never gonna be filled. But I have Jason in my heart. The way he was, the way I knew him, really knew him. I just have to realize that everyone has their own version of Jason, and I have to let them have it.

Drew: You will. ‘Cause it doesn’t matter what their version is. You knew who Jason was, for real.

Carly: What a gift.

Harmony: I would love to be involved in Wiley’s life, and not just the birthdays and holidays.

Nina: Yeah, you just want to be involved.

Harmony: Don’t you?

Nina: Yeah. More than anything. You’re lucky you got that with Willow. I never got that with my own daughter. I never even knew who she was until it was already too late.

Harmony: That must have been crushing.

Nina: It’s a kind of loss that you never get over. You just… you learn to live with.

Harmony: I wish there were something I could do. Well, there is something that you can do. Well, not that you owe me anything, of course. Just to be able to be close to my daughter’s child, that would mean the world to me. And I truly believe that would make a difference to Wiley.

Michael: Say another word about my sister, I dare you.

Victor: Hmm, I see we’re dispensing with the pleasantries.

Drew: Mm, I think I made it pretty clear what I think about you.

Victor: Yet here you stand. Are you alone?

Drew: Why? You got something up your sleeve? As usual?

Sam: Yeah, what about you?

Dante: Yeah. I don’t understand, w-we — we — we heard Drew fine when we did a sound check earlier.

Sam: Do you want to go over the checklist again?

Dante: Well, yeah, the wireless transmitter is functioning. The firmware is current.

Sam: Okay, well, what about the software on your tablet? Is that —

Dante: I updated it this morning. You can’t hear anything that’s going on?

Sam: No. And if I can’t hear Drew, he can’t hear us.

Dante: That means he’s on his own with Victor.

Portia: Oh. Oh! Oh my, God, Jordan. [ Laughs ] I’m so, so sorry. I — God, I should be watching where I’m going.

Jordan: You and me both.

Portia: Is everything okay?

Jordan: Yes, yeah, I’m just here for a checkup. But I feel pretty good.

Portia: Well, good, that’s — that’s what we like to hear. [ Chuckles ]

Jordan: Yeah. I should be checking in soon.

Portia: Okay. Jordan, um, do you… have time to answer just — just — just one question? Something’s been weighing on my mind.

Jordan: Sure.

Portia: Do you consider Spencer Cassadine… dangerous?

Spencer: [ Chuckling ] Trina, you must be psychic. I was just thinking about you.

Trina: I’ve been thinking about you, too.

Spencer: I was hoping you’d visit.

Trina: Life’s been hectic.

Spencer: I heard about the sex tape.

Trina: It’s been rough on Cam, but I can’t even begin to describe what Joss is going through.

Spencer: What about you? I know that you and Joss are best friends. Her pain must be your pain.

Trina: Which is why I’m here.

Spencer: So your first visit isn’t a social call.

Trina: This isn’t a social call. And this isn’t just my first visit. It’s also my last.

Britt: Carly, hi. Hey, you okay?

Carly: Hey. I’m fine.

Britt: Uh, hey, I thought we made peace on Valentine’s Day. Or was that just a temporary truce?

Carly: Oh, God — no, no, we’re fine. We’re good. I — it’s just, um, a lot going on.

Britt: Jason.

Carly: What about Jason?

Britt: Oh, uh, I’m sorry. I thought you knew.

Carly: Thought I knew what?

Britt: Uh… [ Sighs ] Monica’s decided to have Jason legally declared dead.

[ Knock on door ]

Sonny: Okay.

Sonny: [ Exhales sharply ] You want to know if I — if I talked to Michael. Am I right?

Nina: Yeah, uh, you’re right. Did you?

Sonny Yeah, Michael and Willow.

Nina: Well, I guess I’m too late, then. I was having second thoughts.

Sonny: Why?

Nina: I just didn’t want to cause you any more trouble, Sonny. So, how’d it go?

Sonny: Michael and Willow don’t want anything to — you know, they don’t want you to see, uh, Wiley. End of — end of discussion.

Nina: Okay, okay. Well, thanks, at least, for trying. Um, I will call Martin Grey, and I will tell him to start the paperwork.

[ Tray Crashing ]

Nina: Oh!

Sonny: I told you I’d fix it! And I will!

Jordan: If you’re asking for my personal opinion of Spencer, I haven’t really formed one.

Portia: Okay, and your professional one?

Jordan: Not so much an opinion as facts. Spencer Cassadine is a convicted felon, currently serving a custodial sentence at Spring Ridge. He’s never been charged with a violent infraction.

Portia: He admitted to stalking, harassing, damaging property. That sounds like someone that’s capable of violence.

Jordan: If you mean setting Ava Jerome’s car on fire, Spencer had an alibi.

Portia: Yes. Oh, yes, I know. Which brings me straight to his girlfriend, Esme Prince. Why exactly wasn’t she charged?

Jordan: That’s complicated, but may I ask — why all the questions about Spencer and Esme?

[ Elevator bell dings ]

Portia: Well, I-I need to know the risks involved for someone that’s in their lives.

Jordan: Is this about Trina?

Curtis: What happened to Trina?

Spencer: This is your first and last visit… because I’m getting out soon?

Trina: No, it’s because of your girlfriend. As long as Esme’s in your life… I can’t be.

Spencer: [ Clears throat ]

Trina: [ Sighs ]

Spencer: I want to discuss this with you, but right now is not a good time.

Trina: When is a good time, Spencer? Joss and Cam told me you avoided this conversation at the cabin, too.

Trina: [ Sighs ]

Spencer: I’m not avoiding the conversation… but Esme is here, okay? She interns at Spring Ridge for her psychology class.

Trina: You’re never gonna change. Will you, Spencer?

Spencer: What is that supposed to mean?

Trina: It means no matter how many horrible things Esme does, you keep trying to make her happy. It’s been very apparent that you make Esme the priority since she first got here. Correction — since she first showed herself. Who knows how long you and Esme have been lurking around Port Charles, planting creepy gifts for children to find?

Spencer: That is not — I made some horrible mistakes. That’s why I’m here — to pay for them.

Trina: Esme should be the one paying! She’s the one who torched a car! She’s taking a step back and letting you take the fall, and you’re obviously okay with that. Just like you’re okay with the fact that Esme taped Joss and Cam having sex and showed it to the entire world.

Spencer: Trina, no, you’ve got it all wrong!

Trina: No, I’ve got it all right! Which is why I’m giving you this. Take it. I don’t want it anymore.

Dante: I-I don’t understand — the wi-fi signal is garbage. I checked it yesterday, and it was totally fine.

Sam: I knew I should have called Spinelli. No, we —

Dante: We don’t need Spinelli. I just need some time so I can figure this out.

Sam: We don’t have any time. Maybe you should just — I don’t know — move the van. We have to leave. Find a new spot.

Dante: “Leaf.” Leaf, you’re right. Sam, oh, my God. Like, it rained, and the wet leaves are interfering with the wi-fi signal. That’s it.

Sam: Oh, my God, why didn’t I think of that?

Dante: Well, gotta move the van a few feet.

Sam: Okay.

Dante: We’ll have sound loud and clear.

Sam: Hurry up! We need to know what’s going on between Victor and Drew on that bridge.

Drew: You said you wanted to discuss ELQ. What difference does it make if I came alone? Actually, what difference does it make if we have this conversation in private?

Victor: Well, as I said, we’re here to discuss sensitive financial matters.

Drew: Well, if you didn’t want an audience for that, why’d you bring your attack dog? Yeah, I surveil the area before I come out in the open. It’s a reflex — you know, all that Navy SEAL training is pretty ingrained.

Victor: [ Scoffs ] All right, Johann, he’s onto you. You might as well join us. There are those in town who might mistake my motives.

Drew: Oh, I don’t think any of us are mistaken.

Victor: Johann here is my insurance policy.

Johann: That card is going to allow you to access Drew Cain’s old memories?

Victor: Huh. There’s only one way to find out. I’ll have to lure Drew to some secluded location and then activate the conditioning.

Johann: Drew figured out what you were doing. You denied it once. You try that again, there’ll be no denying it.

Victor: You make an excellent point. Oh, it’d be a terrible waste, but if the conditioning of Drew doesn’t work this time, he’ll just have to be eliminated.

Drew: Your henchman may be here to protect you, but if this meeting goes sideways… who’s gonna protect him?

Britt: It’s not a done deal. Monica has to petition the court, and the judge might make her wait the full seven years before declaring Jason legally dead.

Carly: I don’t understand — Jason’s only been missing three months. Why is Monica doing this now?

Britt: You’ll have to ask her, but I think she feels Jason’s kids need closure.

Carly: And she told you?

Britt: Only because I was on Cassadine island when Jason was killed. She might need me to provide a statement for her declaration.

Carly: Will you?

Britt: Yes, of course. Whatever Monica needs.

Carly: I guess it’s official, right? I have to live the rest of my life without my best friend.

Sonny: I’m so– I-I didn’t mean to yell. I-it just — and —

Nina: I mean, we can just talk about this another time, okay?

Sonny: You’re not leaving, are you?

Nina: No, I am. I have to get out of here, Sonny.

Sonny: Well, I’m not gonna hurt you. I’m not —

Nina: No — well, how do I know that? You’re obviously drunk.

Sonny: No. No, no, no —

Nina: Aren’t you?! And you’re angry. So how do I know what you’re going to do?

Sonny: Because I’m not — I’m not angry. I j– I’ve — I’ve had — I’ve had a couple of — of bad days. Can you just come in? Let me —

Nina: Listen. I don’t know w-what is going on in your life. I want to help you — I do — but I can’t put myself at risk.

Sonny: You know me! I would not do —

Nina: No! I knew Mike!

Sonny: You’re right. Mike would have never scared you like that.

Nina: I-I-I shouldn’t have said that.

Sonny: No, hey, you were being honest. You miss Mike. So do I.

Nina: You miss Mike? What — what part?

Sonny: Mike wasn’t very complicated. Helps that he had no history. Mike didn’t have a best friend who was buried… …in rubble in a tunnel. Never recovered his body, and now he’s being declared legally dead.

Nina: I didn’t know.

Sonny: Mike didn’t have a wife… who left him, and a son who blames him for the breakup of his f-family. Mike didn’t have a stepfather… [ Crying softly ] …Who used to get drunk. Beat his mother. Deke was an animal. I never wanted to be anything like him. And now, I can see Deke reflected in your eyes.

Jordan: Why all the questions? Were Spencer and Esme threatening her?

Portia: No! No, no, no, no. I — you know what? I shouldn’t have brought it up. Trina, she wouldn’t even appreciate me meddling in her life, anyway, so —

Curtis: No, it’s not meddling to show concern. In fact, if you’re worried, maybe — maybe Jordan can help.

Jordan: I can at least look into Spencer and Esme.

Portia:  You know what? Please don’t do that. It’s just that Trina is dealing with some, um — some friend drama right now.

Curtis: Okay, but she’s doing okay in classes? Still enjoying her art courses?

Portia: Yes. Yes. [ Chuckles ]

Curtis: Okay.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Jordan: Alright. They’ve actually pushed my appointment back 30 minutes, so I’m gonna grab a bite in the cafeteria and come back later.

Curtis: Um, is this about your kidney?

Jordan: It’s routine. Everything’s fine. Portia, please reach out if you need my help.

Portia: Thank you.

Spencer: I’m not taking that book, Trina. You love Richard Molyneaux’s work.

Trina: I did. “Did”?

Spencer: What does that mean? What changed?

Trina: My perspective — about a lot of things. Starting with the fact that I accepted the book under false pretenses. I thought we were friends.

Spencer: Aren’t we?

Trina: Friends have each other’s backs, no matter what the cost.

Spencer: I would do anything for you.

Trina: Except stop asking me to lie for you, like I did to Joss and Cam and your dad for weeks by not telling them that you were in Port Charles before you were. And you swore that you were sorry and that you would never put me in that position again — until the other day at the cemetery, when you asked me to lie to the police commissioner for you. Which is bad on you, but worse on me, because I did it.

Spencer: But — but it all worked out.

Trina: But what if it hadn’t? What if I had gotten caught? You committed the crime, but your family has enough money to buy you out of trouble. Uncle Victor would have been there with the fix. But my future, my dreams? Everything that I have worked so hard for, I’ve put on the line to cover for you. And all you can do is get me a book? Well, no thanks. You want to prove that you care? Leave your girlfriend.

Spencer:  You want me to break up with Esme? For you?

Trina: I want you to leave Esme because she’s responsible for filming Cam and Joss.

Spencer: Esme says that you are.

Trina: And you believe her?

Spencer: No. No, I don’t. You would never hurt Joss and Cam that way. You would never tape something so private and personal, much less post it.

Trina: You know deep down that she would… and did. And yet, you still choose to be with her. And that’s not something I can respect.

Spencer: I told you, it’s yours.

Trina: Fine. Bye, Spencer. Good luck with life.

Spencer: Trina— Trina, please. Don’t walk out on me. If you do, I’ll always wonder.

Trina: Wonder what?

Britt: Accepting Jason’s death is hard.

Carly: I’m just trying… to adjust to a world without him, where I can’t turn to him, or… I mean, there are so many times when I forget that he’s gone, when I feel like he’s still here. And then I have to remember all over again. [ Scoffs ] I feel like declaring him dead is like giving up on him. Is that right?

Britt: We have to let him go, Carly.

Carly: Really? Have you? I mean, come on — you’re telling me that I have to move on, but you’re not.

Britt: It’s a process. [ Sighs ] I mean, we have to accept that what we shared with Jason are now just memories.

Carly: Okay, let’s be honest, okay? What — what you had with Jason was a memory before he even went to Greece.

Dante: Well? Anything?

Sam: [ Chuckles ] I will never doubt you again.

Dante: Oh, I think I, uh, should have that in writing, notarized.

Sam: Drew, if you can hear me, cough.

Drew: [ Coughs ]

Sam: Okay, now, hopefully, Victor or shows him the tarot card.

Dante: And puts us back in business.

Victor: Nothing’s going sideways, Drew. We’re just here for a friendly, informative meeting.

Drew: Oh, well, that sounds lovely. Let’s get to it, then, shall we? You said you wanted to discuss Valentin’s ELQ shares? Now what?

Victor: When I called, you were adamant about not meeting with me. Yet, here you are, all eager to hear news about voting shares.

Drew: ELQ is my daughter’s birthright. What concerns Scout concerns me.

Victor: Oh, Valentin is in charge of the company. Brook Lynn deceived my son in the worst way imaginable just to get hold of his shares. I wonder what other schemes the Quartermaines are hatching to get back control of ELQ.

Drew: W– do you really think, if I knew, I would tell you? What is that? Another tarot card? What, did you go and buy a whole deck from the local fortune teller?

Victor: [ Chuckling ] Oh, no. Ah, this isn’t just any old tarot card, Drew. This is the card. The one Peter August used to control you. You are active.

Drew: Reporting for duty.

Johann: You did it, boss.

Victor: Well, so it seems. But… we have to be sure. Throw Johann over the side of the bridge.

Sonny: I never want anybody I care about… [ Breathing deeply ] …To be afraid of me. You forgive me, Nina? [ Sighs ]

Nina: Yeah, I-I can forgive you. But, Sonny, this isn’t the first time that you lashed out in anger.

Sonny: I know — I grabbed you. And then I hurt you. I know that.

Nina: Yeah, you did. [ Sighs ]

Sonny: Just — I have no excuses, Nina.

Nina: Well… you had to say goodbye to your friend Jason, and on top of everything that’s happening with your family, so that must be very painful.

Sonny: It’s very pai– You know what? Ever since I have come home, I have — e-everybody that I love is just slipping through my fingers. And I — and this is not helping.

Nina: Yeah. You know what, Sonny? You’re right. It’s really good of you to recognize that that doesn’t help you.

Sonny: Please don’t — don’t tell me that. I just — I’m just — listen, ever since I-I-I’ve been taking my bipolar medication, I’ve been able to drink in moderation.

Nina: What changed?

Sonny: Ever since I’ve come home… …I’ve been drinking a lot.

Nina: What are you gonna do about it?

Britt: Whatever — I thought you’d want to know Monica’s plans.

Carly: Britt. I’m sorry. I-I had no right to say that to you. I had no right to take my anger and grief out on you. I am sorry. It’s just… [ Sighs ] I’m going through a lot right now. And, um, you know, hearing about Jason didn’t help.

Britt: I’m sorry to hear about your divorce. I’m — I’m sure things have not been easy.

Carly: No, uh, for any of us. I… Josslyn’s going through something really difficult, and, um, I don’t know how to help her. And it would be a time for me… to turn to Jason.

Britt: Yeah, Jason always had a way of making challenges seem easy to face.

Carly: [ Voice breaking ] I can’t tell you… how many times I go to call him, you know? Or, you know, a-a-a guy will come to the bar at the metro court in a black t-shirt, and… [ Chuckles ] This just feels so final.

Jordan: Carly, I’m so sorry about Jason.

Carly: Thank you. I’m gonna go. Sorry.

Jordan: [ Sighs ] Hurts like hell, doesn’t it? When you’re forced to accept the person you love is never coming back?

Britt: Let’s talk about happier news. I heard you got a clean bill of health?

Jordan: I did. And while I would have never chosen to go through it, my kidney scare was an important reminder — life’s not promised to everybody.

Britt: Don’t I know it.

Sam: Victor just ordered Drew to kill Johann.

Johann: Boss, don’t! No!

Dante: You gotta tell Drew to abort.

Sam: What do you mean? And blow his cover? No, we’ve gotta see how this plays out.

Dante: We — we don’t have time, Sam.

Sam: We have to give him time. He’s gonna be able to sell this.

Dante: Look, I’m a cop. I can’t let this get out of hand, even if it is bringing down Victor Cassadine.

Sam: It’s not gonna come to that. Come on, we– we’re not gonna have another shot at this. I trust Drew. You have to trust me on this.

[ Both grunting ]

Johann: Boss! Help me!

Portia: So now Esme is blaming Trina for filming Cameron and Josslyn and putting it on the internet.

Curtis: That’s insane — Trina would never do that.

Portia: Well, of course she wouldn’t. She doesn’t have a malicious bone in her body.

Curtis: No, she — she — she’s kind. She’s generous. She’s just like her mother, which means she’s strong. And she can stand up to Esme.

Portia: I know, but I can’t help wanting to protect her. I want to put the smackdown on Esme. That’s exactly what I want to do. [ Sighs ] But I suppose that’s a bad idea. [ Sighs ]

Curtis: Sadly, yes. [ Sighs ]

Portia: [ Chuckles ]

Curtis: [ Chuckles ]

Portia: Oh, there was, um, some good news that I wanted to share with you. I told Trina about our plans to buy the beach house. And she seemed really excited about it.

Curtis: “Seemed”?

Portia: I told you — she’s distracted. This whole friends’ drama thing — it’s — it’s taking its toll on her.

Curtis: And you?

Portia: Me? I-I’m fine.

Curtis: What was done to Cameron and Josslyn was inexcusable. And Esme blaming Trina — it’s despicable. But I know you, and I know there’s something on your mind. What is it?

Portia: Trina’s inexplicable attachment to this Cassadine kid.

Spencer: I’ll always wonder… …what you thought of the book.

Trina: It was inspiring, but I also felt let down.

Spencer: Why?

Trina: Richard Molyneaux was one of the reasons I got into modernism. Even though Joss thinks his art is just a bunch of squiggles, which is what most people see.

Spencer: But you saw beyond that. You saw behind the squiggles. That is your talent, Trina — to understand true art. T

Trina: The book allowed me to see pieces I had never seen before, and it was amazing. I felt closer to the artist.

Spencer:  But?

Trina: But the book also provided professional criticism — really insightful stuff that exposed the artist’s limitations.

Spencer: You once told me that… frailty is what makes us human. Isn’t there beauty in someone’s imperfections?

Trina: There can be — only if someone recognizes those imperfections… and chooses to live up to their potential.

Spencer: What if a person wants to do better and just needs more time? It must seem so simple from the outside. All someone needs to do in order to live a better life is to make different choices — better choices. But if it were really that easy, wouldn’t the whole world be full of happy, fulfilled people?

[ Line rings ]

Sonny: Clearly, I can’t drink like I used to. I guess it just acts differently now with the medication.

Nina: You know, Sonny, does the reason really matter? The — it seems to me like the important thing is that you cannot drink to — to prop yourself up or to dull your pain.

Sonny: Yeah, my stepdad… he used to just… escape to the bottom of a whiskey bottle, and then… …that wasn’t enough.

Nina: You’re not your stepdad.

Sonny: Like you said, I can’t, y– you know, keep using liquor… …as an excuse. Here, you — you can drink it. Just drink a little bit. Do you want it?

Nina: No. No, thank you, Sonny. [ Sighs lightly ] But is it — is it gonna be enough later? I mean, it’s not like Michael and Willow’s rejection is gonna be the last piece of bad news that you ever get.

Sonny: I can’t keep using booze as a crutch. I can’t do it anymore. And I promise you, I won’t… I will never hurt you again.

Nina: I want to believe you, but that’s easier said than done. Can you dump the contents of this decanter in the sink?

Sonny: There’s a first time for everything.

Portia: Trina was in here, twisting herself in knots, defending Spencer.

Portia: Yeah, but, see, that’s the problem. Ever since Trina befriended Spencer, she’s had to deal with all of his lies. His vendetta against Ava, who just happens to be Trina’s mentor. Plus, Trina’s own conflict — exposing him as the stalker. I-I-I — no. Spencer doesn’t deserve Trina’s loyalty — that’s it.

Curtis: And I’m sure having Esme in his life… uh, you know, makes Trina’s friendship with Spencer even more fraught.

Portia: Before Spencer and Esme came into Trina’s life, she was never self-conscious. She never second-guessed her choices. I just wish that she would leave him alone and just move on.

Sam: Operation Demeter.

Dante: Yeah, I guess it’s, um, something to go on.

Sam: And hopefully helps us stop Victor.

Carly: Before he realizes what hit him.

Spencer: Esme, don’t.

Esme: Don’t what? Call Trina out? Trina, next time you have a fight with a friend, tell them to their face. Don’t tape them having sex and upload it.

Trina: I’m not gonna stand here and listen to this.

Spencer:  It was. Apparently, Trina doesn’t want anything from me.

Esme: Not even friendship? Does that mean… Trina is out of your life?

Portia: Spencer and Esme are trouble. That’s it, plain and simple.

Curtis: Oh, I’m sure they are. Um, and I’m sure you’re right — just like my Aunt Stella was right about some of the knuckleheads that she tried to warn me off when I was about Trina’s age.

Portia: Yeah, but I bet aunt stella wasn’t shy about letting you know what her opinion was, right?

Curtis: But I didn’t listen. No, I stayed close to those same knuckleheads, and I didn’t care how much it dragged me down.

Portia: Because you didn’t want to admit that Stella might know better than you.

Curtis: And after some — after many hard knocks… I learned that Aunt Stella was right. And I changed my class of friends.

Portia: Message received, Curtis. Thank you, um… okay, okay, okay. So, I’m going to — I’m gonna keep my opinions to myself, and I am going to allow Trina to make her own decisions.

Curtis: Sounds good. But why do you look so worried?

Portia: Call it mother’s intuition. I-I-I don’t know, I just — I’m afraid that Trina’s in some trouble. And I just hope I can protect her before it’s too late.

Elizabeth: Jake. Grandma Monica said you were in here and that you ran out of your appointment with Dr. Massey.

[ Door closes ]

Elizabeth: What’s going on?

Cameron: If I didn’t set up the camera and leak it, there’s only two other people that could’ve — the girl you’re crushing on or your girlfriend.

Trina: Oh. Well, that is a great house. And I’m sure you and Curtis will be happy there.

Portia: Okay. What’s wrong? I thought we talked about this. I thought you were okay with me and Curtis moving in together.

Trina: I am. It’s just… there’s been a lot on my mind.

Portia: Okay. Well, why don’t you tell me all about it?

Adam: Josslyn?

Josslyn: Adam. Hi. Thanks for meeting me.

Adam: Absolutely. You know, I kind of couldn’t believe it when you asked me to study with you.

Josslyn: Why?

Adam: We’ve just never hung out outside of class before.

Josslyn: Oh. Well, now we are. Yeah. Okay. So, the midterm — it’s right around the corner. And it seems like you really know what you’re doing.

Adam: Oh, I do.

Josslyn: Great. So I thought that we could maybe start by just quizzing each other.

Adam: Cool. I’ve actually been thinking a lot about chemistry lately.

Josslyn: Oh. Is that so? Yeah. Ever since I saw you — I saw you naked, I just…

[ Indistinct conversations ]

Carly: Cameron! I need to talk to you.

Cameron: Sure.

Carly: Josslyn told me what happened.

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

[ Gun cocks ]

[ Gunshot ]

Victor: Threatening you, Mr. Cain? That would be a very foolish mistake. Fortunately, we’re both intelligent men.

Drew: Get to the point.

Victor: I don’t think I have to remind you that my son Valentin is CEO of ELQ. I want to talk to you about your voting shares.

Drew: I’m listening.

Victor: This is really something I’d need to talk to you about face-to-face. Why don’t we meet, um, say, pier 54 in an hour?

Drew: No deal. You want to meet with me, I choose the location.

Victor: Alright. Where?

Drew: There’s a footbridge over Blackstone Canyon. If you want to talk with me, that’s the only place I will meet.

Victor: Fine.

Drew: (on phone) Victor took the bait. I’m meeting him in one hour.

Finn: It’s your story to tell, not mine.

Jake: I don’t need to see Dr. Massey, and I didn’t put that portrait on the mantel, and I can prove it.

Elizabeth: Okay.

Jake: I was at the library when it happened, and, you know, I-I was on the computers that I had to sign up to use. So you can check that I was there and not at home doing crazy things to freak you out.

Elizabeth: Well, that’s great.

Finn: Mystery solved, then.

Elizabeth: But w-why would you need to use the library computers instead of the one at home?

Jake: I…didn’t want you to know what I was doing.

Elizabeth: Why? What were you doing?

Jake: You’re gonna be mad.

Elizabeth: Well, maybe I will, but maybe I won’t.

Jake: You will.

Elizabeth: Well, I’m not happy that you were hiding things from me, but the only way to fix that is by telling me the truth. Honey, it’s really important that we’re honest with each other.

Jake: I was talking to Grandma Carolyn and Grandpa Jeff.

Carly: It is beyond horrible that such a private moment was recorded and sent out to the world.

Cameron: And I’m so sorry that Josslyn has to go through this, but, Mrs. Corinthos, I swear I had no idea that we were being recorded, and I would never do that to her.

Carly:  No, of course you wouldn’t. I don’t blame you. I’m angry for both you and Josslyn.

Cameron: [ Exhales deeply ] Thank you. Um, how is Josslyn?

Carly: You haven’t talked to her?

Cameron: I mean, we’ve texted a little bit, but, um… I feel like she’s kind of avoiding me.

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

Carly: Talk to her. You guys really need each other right now.

Josslyn: What the hell did you just say to me?

Adam: Oh. I saw the video. I just — I didn’t really think you were the type, Josslyn.

Josslyn: What type?

Adam: You know, to post something like that.

Josslyn: Well, Adam, you would be correct, because I didn’t post it.

Adam: Well, so who did? The — was it the guy in the video? Is he — is he your boyfriend?

Josslyn: No! I mean yes, he’s my boyfriend. But he didn’t record it, much less post it.

Adam: Look, I really don’t know why you’re getting all, like, whatever. I’m just — I’m just trying to pay you a compliment. I thought you looked —

Josslyn: Oh. Oh, I don’t — I thought you looked hot! I don’t give a damn what you think. In fact, the only thing I would like is for you to get the hell out of here.

Esme: Is that really what you think of me? That I’m somehow behind that sex video of Joss and Cam? I thought you knew me better than that.

Spencer: Of course I do. And just so you know — I told Cam that you couldn’t have done it.

Esme: No doubt Cam had some magical explanation for how I could have shot that video. Why is it so impossible for them to admit the truth? It was Trina. She had access. She had motive.

Spencer: Did she?

Esme: Stop covering for her. Trina was jealous of Josslyn ending up with Cam, jealous that everyone else was coupled up while she had no one. I’m telling you, Spence. Trina has everybody snowed.

Spencer: Well, whoever did this, it’s making Joss and Cam’s life hell.

Esme: I suppose I should be more forgiving, considering what they’re going through.

Spencer: No need. I set Cameron straight. I’m sure that he’s gonna do the same with Josslyn.

Esme: Thank you for defending me, Spence. Mm-hmm. You really are my knight in shining armor. [ Down-tempo music plays ] By the way, uh, I ran into your dad and Ava.

Spencer: Hopefully with Ava’s new car.

Esme: It was actually very nice. They were talking about their whole, um, vow renewal thing.

Spencer: Can we talk about something else? Have the woodchucks started spring training?

Esme: This is important. Fine. I know your father wanted to talk to you about this, but you and I don’t keep secrets, so… your father and Ava have decided to have their ceremony with just family.

Spencer: And what does that have to do with me?

Esme: They’re waiting until after your release. Your father really wants you to attend. I know it would mean the world to him. Spence, are you even listening to me?

Spencer: Yeah. Sorry. Um… it’s just… do you really think that Trina made that video?

Esme: Unbelievable.

Kurt: You have nowhere to go.

Felicia: Heads up!

Kurt: [ Grunts ] [ Grunts ] [ Moans ]

Josslyn: I said get out.

Adam: This is a public place. Why do I have to leave?

Cameron: Josslyn. Hey, are you okay? I-if you don’t want me to be here, I can — I can —

Trina: Someone recorded Joss and Cam’s first time and sent it to the whole campus.

Portia: Everyone at PCU?

Trina: So far. I don’t know who else they sent it to.

Portia: Oh, my god. Poor Joss and Cameron. I-I can’t even imagine what they’re feeling right now.

Trina: Neither can I. I haven’t reached out to either of them since everything happened.

Portia: Honey, why not?

Trina: I don’t know what to say! Joss didn’t come back to the dorm after everything happened. She’s been staying with her mom. And I haven’t heard from Cam either. I didn’t know if they wanted space, so I thought maybe I should let them reach out to me or maybe I should reach out to them. But now it’s weird because I waited too long to contact them.

Portia: Honey, I-I get that. I really do. But I think Josslyn really needs her best friend right now.

Trina: I thought so, too. But on top of everything… Esme accused me of being the one that recorded the sex tape.

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

Spencer: [ Exhales deeply ] I’m sorry I brought up Trina again. You’re just gonna sit there? I thought that you got here early so that we could talk.

Esme: Not that you’ve asked, but I’ve had a totally awful day. First, Carly Corinthos attacks me, then you basically accuse me —

Spencer: Wait. Back up. Joss’ mom attacked you?

Esme: She was completely out of control. If your father hadn’t been there, I don’t know what would have happened.

Spencer: Father intervened?

Esme: Yeah. He was actually pretty great. I could see the father you described from your childhood, the caring man that stood by you. He saved me from Carly and Josslyn.

Spencer: I know that Joss’ mom has a temper, but… Carly did that?

Carly: Okay. Can you please tell Dr. Collins to call me ASAP? I really need to talk to him. Thank you.

Drew: Hey.

Carly: Hey.

Drew: You okay?

Carly:  Uh, no. No, I’m not okay. Josslyn is hurting, and I have no idea how to help her.

Elizabeth: You were talking to my parents? How?

Jake: I know you don’t like talking about Grandma and Grandpa and when you were younger.

Elizabeth: I don’t talk about them because we don’t stay in touch. How did they contact you?

Jake: They posted a message on my wall when they found out my dad died.

Elizabeth: Well — well, that was m-months ago. Did they ask you to keep it a secret? Then why did you?

Finn: Jake was, um… Jake was worried you’d be angry.

Elizabeth: [ Sighs ] I’m — I’m not angry, Jake. But I really want to know — what did my parents want?

Anna: You’re in a lot of trouble, trying to kill a WSB agent.

Kurt:  I thought you were a burglar.

Anna: Kurt Markovic. So, according to this schedule, you were the safety inspector on the day of the cable car accident.

Kurt: I was.

Anna: A lot of people died that day.

Kurt: Not because of me.

Anna: Well…

Kurt: must have been sabotage.

Anna: Well, yes, it was. But if you weren’t involved, why did you try to shoot me?

Kurt: I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Felicia: Why do people say that? It’s as good as a confession.

Anna: Yeah. She has a point. So, that day, the cable car’s departure was delayed. Why?

Kurt: Delays happen. Should be in the record.

Anna: Well, it isn’t. Were you instructed to hold a car until a certain person was onboard and it was vital that that individual was in a specific car because you had sabotaged it?

Officer: It might be his co-worker’s.

Anna: What? Well, there’s one way to find out. [ Cellphone beeps ] Why is it necessary for you to have two phones?

[ Dramatic music plays ]

Portia: Oh, hell no. Who does Esme think she is?

Trina: I just wanted to slap her.

Portia: And I wish you had! And I know. Violence is never the answer. But with this Esme, I’m done. I’ve had it.

Trina: I know, right?! I just wish Spencer could see Esme for who she truly is.

Portia: Spencer makes his own choices, and they’re usually very bad choices, which is why he is now serving time in prison.

Trina: Only for 30 days.

Portia: Trina.

Trina: Okay. Spencer has done some stupid stuff.

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

Portia: Terrorizing his stepmother, terrorizing his stepsister — a child. No, no, no. Honey, that’s more than stupid. That’s spoiled.

Trina: I told him that.

Portia: It’s entitled.

Trina: I told him that, too.

Portia: And frankly, it’s criminal.

Trina: I’ll let the prison sentence say that for me.

Portia: While Esme sets fire to Ava’s car and leaves a memento of Ava’s dead daughter by the wreckage?

Trina: Esme said that was Spencer’s idea.

Portia: And you believe what Esme says?

Trina: I don’t think anyone can believe that.

Portia: Which is exactly my point. Honey, if after all of that Spencer can’t see who Esme really is… I don’t think he ever will.

Trina: I just can’t help it. Spencer still has the potential to be a good guy —

Portia: Oh, my god.

Trina: Or at least sort of a good guy! He just needs to get away from Esme. Esme brings out the worst in him, and I can’t stand it.

Portia: Then don’t.

Trina: What do you mean, don’t?

Portia: Exactly what I said. Don’t. Walk away. Honey, I need you to trust me, okay? The further that you get away from Spencer and Esme, the better off you’re gonna be.

Eileen: Why are we meeting here?

Victor: For my convenience. You said you had information. What is it?

Eileen: Mayor Collins thinks Luke Spencer was murdered, and I’m pretty sure she thinks you’re behind it.

Carly: I was just hoping that I could, you know, talk to Kevin in between patients so I could get some advice on how to help Josslyn.

Drew: Is — is there anything I can do?

Carly: You haven’t heard anything about a video going around, right?

Drew: A video? No.

Carly: Oh, thank God. Maybe it hasn’t gotten any further than PCU.

Drew: What does some video have to do with Josslyn?

Carly: The only thing I can say is that someone managed… to record a very private moment and sent it to the entire campus.

Drew: [ Sighs ] My God. That would be awful for anyone. But a teenager…

Carly: I know. She’s — she’s in so much pain, and I don’t know what to do to help her.

Drew: What about Spinelli?

Carly: He’s already taken down all the public posts of the video, and he set up a program to keep doing the same if any more go up.

Drew: Okay. Good. He’s a genius like that.

Carly: He is, but as far as Josslyn’s concerned, the damage is done. I mean, she thinks every single person on campus has seen the video.

Drew: Do you have any idea who did it?

Carly: Oh, yeah. I know who did it. There’s no proof… but there will be.

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

Spencer: Joss’ mom grabbed you so hard that she left bruises. What the hell?

Esme: Carly was scary, and Josslyn just stood there, loving every second.

Spencer: That’s insane.

Esme: Exactly my point. I have told you and told you. Maybe now you’ll finally believe me. Josslyn hates me. And now her little minions, Trina and Cam, hate me too. She’s sicced her mother on me. Spence… …I am only in Port Charles because of you. Everything I did, I did for you, and I keep getting attacked for it.

Spencer: I’m so sorry. Don’t worry. I’m gonna be out of here soon, and we can be together.

Esme: That’s all I ever wanted.

Anna: Thank you. So, my team has managed to find evidence that you did sabotage that cable car. It won’t take them long to connect you directly to it. Doesn’t look good for you. So, is this how you received all your instructions — from this burner phone?

Kurt: You keep going on about these lives, as if they matter. One cable car is nothing compared to the lives that will be lost.

Anna: What lives?

Kurt: These people, these so-called victims — they are casualties. They’re collateral damage!

Anna: Is that how you’re gonna end up — collateral damage?

Kurt: I know exactly how I will end up. I am a soldier for a noble cause, a cause for which I am willing to give my life! [ Grunts ]

[ Dramatic music plays ]

Anna: Oh, God! No! Stop! Stop!

Jake: What do you mean, what did Grandpa Jeff and Grandma Carolyn want? To get to know me. Is that so hard to believe?

Elizabeth: No! N-no, of course not. I’m — I’m just surprised to hear that you’ve been talking to them for months and you didn’t say anything.

Jake: Because I knew you’d freak out, just like you’re doing right now.

Elizabeth: I’m not freaking out.

Jake: Yes, you are.

Elizabeth: There’s — there’s no need to freak out. No — no one’s freaking out, right? Um, I think your mom just, uh, wants to understand.

Jake: What’s there to understand?

Finn: Uh, well, maybe — maybe you want to tell her what you and your grandparents talk about, just show her it’s no big deal.

Jake: We just talk about… you know, stuff — like — like school and my art. Why can’t I talk to my grandparents?

Finn: You know you can always talk to Scott.

Jake: Yeah. Scott’s great. But, you know, he doesn’t care about art. I mean, he acts like he does. He tries. But he doesn’t really understand what I’m talking about.

Elizabeth: [ Scoffs ] And your grandparents do?

Jake: Yes.

Elizabeth: Okay.

Jake: Mom, do you really hate them so much, you want me to hate them, too?

Spencer: Samuel snuck me out so that I could visit my mom’s grave on the anniversary of her death.

Esme: That was risky.

Spencer: I know. But it was important.

Esme: Of course. I know how much you missed visiting your mother’s grave while you were at school. But that’s over and done now, right? No one knows you left Spring Ridge.

Spencer: It wasn’t quite that simple. I almost got caught — by police Commissioner Ashford, of all people.

Esme: Oh, my god. Spence!

Spencer: It was close. If Trina hadn’t… covered…

Esme: Trina.

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

Cameron: [ Sighs ] That does sound better.

Josslyn: He seemed like such a nice guy. And then his attitude completely shifted. Everyone feels like they’re entitled to me now.

Cameron: It’s these random people on the internet, messaging me like we’re bros.

Josslyn: Oh, yeah. I’m getting messages from guys I barely know or don’t know at all, asking me to hook up. Like this video was some sort of invitation. Cam, my mom’s telling me not to hide. But how am I supposed to go back to class after knowing what these people think of me? Maybe I should just transfer.

Cameron: No. No way. You love PCU. You’re not gonna be alone. I’ll be right by your side.

Drew: You and Joss are as close and as strong as any mother and daughter — hell, as any parent/child can possibly be. She is so lucky to have you in her corner.

Carly: Thank you. I always feel better after talking to you.

Drew: Good. Just wish I could do more.

Carly: Oh, you listening, it means so much to me. I was, uh…freaking out. You know, I really felt alone.

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

Drew: [ Sighs ] I’m sorry.

Carly: I thought that was a bond that would never break.

Drew: Mm.

[ Cellphone ringing ]

Carly: Wow. [ Laughing ] You’re so busy.

Drew: Yeah. Well, I… just working on something.

Carly: Oh. Are you taking an active role at aurora again?

Drew: That’s not what this is. No.

Carly: Oh. Well, it’s not business business. Is it personal business?

Drew: It’s — um, it’s kind of a need-to-know situation. I think it’s probably better that you don’t know. But the moment I can say anything, I-I will.

Carly: It’s that kind of business? Peter’s dead. Victor’s alive.

Drew: I should get going.

Carly: No, no, no, no. You do realize how dangerous Victor is?

Drew: Y– I can be pretty dangerous myself, Carly.

Carly: Drew, you’re back in Scout’s life. Don’t do anything that will take you away from your daughter again.

Eileen: I interrupted an unscheduled meeting Mayor Collins was having with D.A. Scorpio, detective Dante Falconeri, and Samantha McCall.

Victor: All people she’s known for decades.

Eileen: She put false information on her official calendar, and when I pressed her on it and explained to her that she put me in a compromised position, she confided in me that they all think Luke Spencer was murdered, and the mayor thinks she knows who’s behind it.

Victor: Did she mention me by name?

Eileen: She did not. But if they look into Luke’s death…

Victor: Anna Devane and Felicia Scorpio are doing just that. I’ve taken care of them. I just didn’t realize Laura was involved as well.

Felicia: What the hell is wrong with people?

Anna: Cyanide capsule. I didn’t think people used those now. I guess the autopsy will show more.

Felicia: I can understand dying for a cause, but for Victor Cassadine, when all he had to do was answer a few questions?

Anna: I-I do understand him wanting to end it here rather than face Victor, because he would have ended up dead anyway.

Felicia: Well, even so, run away! Make Victor work for it. Don’t just do it yourself.

Anna: You heard him. He was proud to die for a cause.

Felicia: Have any idea what that might have been?

Anna: Oh, I don’t have a clue.

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

Felicia: Find anything? Secret messages? Extremist browser history?

Anna: No.

Felicia: Culty stuff on social media?

Anna: There’s just one number programmed into — into this phone. And it is the same one that he used on his personal phone.

Felicia: Victor? I don’t know. Let’s find out.

[ Line ringing ]

[ Ringing continues ]

Cameron: I hate that there’s people on the internet critiquing my technique.

Josslyn: I’m sorry.

Cameron: And — and then one of Jake’s friends sends him the video.

Josslyn: Oh, my god. I think there’s laws against that. If there’s not, then…

Cameron: Well, um, looks like we’re famous. Has this been happening all day?

Josslyn: No, actually. Maybe it’s because we’re more recognizable when we’re together.

Cameron: Well, then maybe… we shouldn’t hang out in public together.

Spencer: Trina just happened to be there.

Esme: Did someone else in her family fake their death just to get away from her?

Spencer: It was for some class. Anyway, it was just a coincidence.

Esme: So in addition to Samuel, Trina knows you snuck out of here.

Spencer: And she was not happy to see me. Is that right? She tore into me for being entitled, for thinking the rules don’t apply to me. Yeah, she was mad.

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

Esme: So…Trina lied to the police commissioner to cover for you.

Spencer: I guess, technically.

Esme: Trina really put herself on the line for you.

Spencer: She’s a good friend.

Esme: I’ll say.

Trina: I can’t walk away from my friends.

Portia: Esme is your friend?

Trina: Oh, hell no. But Spencer —

Portia: Spencer keeps making one bad decision after another, including the one to keep dating Esme. Now, honey, I know you’re an adult. I know you can make your own decisions. But I can’t see one single reason why you would want to keep toxic people like Spencer and Esme in your life.

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

Elizabeth: Jake, I don’t want you to hate anyone. Let’s just talk about your grandparents later.

Jake: Oh, great. Can’t wait.

Elizabeth: Right now, I need you to go apologize to Dr. Massey for running out on your appointment.

Jake: Alright. Fine.

Finn: Hey, look. I know your parents wouldn’t have been your first choice, but obviously he’s just looking for some sense of connection, someone that understands his interests.

Elizabeth: I don’t blame Jake for any of this. But for my parents to pull an end run by going straight to him? That is unacceptable.

Felicia: Pick up, Victor. Pick up.

[ Line ringing ]

Eileen: Guten tag. How may I assist you? Hello? Guten tag. With whom am I speaking?

[ Dramatic music plays ]

Victor: Mm.

Felicia: I guess Kurt’s contact was one of Victor’s minions and not the man himself.

Anna: I don’t know. Or Kurt told Victor that we were here and not to pick up. Either way, our trip to Austria is no longer secret. And now that the WSB is officially involved, we’re gonna have to answer some questions.

Felicia: Okay. So what’s the next step?

Anna: The WSB will probably try to trace that call. Won’t lead anywhere.

Felicia: So we still can’t tie Victor to Luke’s death.

Anna: No. Not yet.

Victor: Give me that.

Eileen: [ Exhales sharply ]

Victor: Kurt obviously failed to take care of Anna and Felicia.

Eileen: Will he talk?

Victor: That remains to be seen.

Eileen: What are you going to do about agent Devane and Felicia Scorpio?

Victor: I have a plan b — someone they’ll never see coming.

Drew: Look, I know…that Victor is up to something. I am simply gonna find out what it is. No heroics, just fact finding.

Carly: Okay. Here’s an idea. Why don’t you let Anna and the WSB handle it?

Drew: Because I’m gonna handle it. And — and I am gonna be careful. I… I promise I’ll be careful.

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

Carly: That’s what Jason used to say.

Josslyn: Is that what you want –for us to not be seen together?

Cameron: No. But if it will make things easier for you —

Josslyn: it won’t. Who cares if people recognize us?

Cameron: Then I guess the solution is that we just stay in more.

Josslyn: Yeah. I wouldn’t mind that.

Cameron: Me neither.

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

Cameron: We’ll get through this together.

Josslyn: Damn right.

Esme: I need to get to work. Please don’t do anything else that could get you in trouble.

Spencer: My days of making trouble for myself are over. From now on…

Esme: You’ll only make trouble for everyone else. I mean it, Spence. You’re all I have. As long as you’re in here, I have no one.

Spencer: It won’t be long now. We can count the days.

Esme: Oh, I am.

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

Spencer: Of course, it has, um, occurred to me that Esme could have done this.

Cameron: Great. Can you ask her about it?

Spencer: Then I realized that we were gone, so she couldn’t have done it.

Cameron: Right, ’cause she couldn’t figure out how to set up a timer or a motion sensor or simply leave the camera running. Spencer, she didn’t have to be there. I get you’re trying to save what you have with Esme, but don’t lose the people you care about in the process.

Trina: Spencer?

[ Down-tempo music plays ]

Elizabeth: My father asked Terry to get a message to me, and she shut it down, and I’ve been radio silent ever since. That should have been the end of it. But instead of accepting that, they went straight to Jake. That is not okay.

Finn: You’re right. You’re right. I mean, you’re absolutely right. They should respect your boundaries. On the other hand, there’s a — there’s another pressing matter here.

Elizabeth: Yeah, I know. Jake.

Finn: And although he kept something from you…

Elizabeth: He didn’t shred my dress. He didn’t put the portrait in the house.

Finn: Which is all good news.

Elizabeth: Yes, and I am incredibly relieved.

Finn: Yes.

Elizabeth: But if it wasn’t him, we’re back to square one. And I have no idea who’s doing this to me.

Anna: We’ll meet you back at the Bureau and we’ll debrief there, yeah?

Agent: Of course, Agent Devane.

Anna: Thank you.

Felicia: Where are we with all this? Anywhere?

Anna: I don’t know. The one thing we know for certain is that Kurt sabotaged Luke’s cable car.

Felicia: And crazy Kurt died for his cause without telling us who he was working with.

Anna: WSB is gonna trace his movements over the last few months and just see where that leads.

Felicia: Do you think he might have met with Victor?

Anna: I don’t know. One of his men, probably. Like Johann.

Felicia: I just wish we could tie this all to Victor soon.

Anna: Yeah. What we have learned that’s important is this whole thing — that Kurt was willing to die for a cause.

Felicia: But we don’t even know what the cause is. For a man who wouldn’t shut up, Kurt wasn’t very specific.

Anna: Yeah. It does mean that whatever Victor is involved with, it’s a whole lot bigger than just a personal vendetta against Luke.

[ Dramatic music plays ]

Ava: I’m so glad we’re doing this. It’s been ages since we’ve met for lunch somewhere other than the Metro Court.

Nina: Yeah, it’s really nice to be away from the office.

Ava: And it’s, um, much less likely that you… thank you.

Waiter: There you are.

Ava: …Run into Carly here.

Nina: Thank you.

Ava: Oh, uh, hey, by the way, I — I heard from Nikolas that you haven’t followed up with Martin Grey about filing for visitation.

Nina: Yeah, because I’m hopeful that I won’t need Martin to make sure that I have a place in my grandson’s life. I’d like to hold scorched-earth tactics in reserve.

Ava: Oh, Nina, you’re not… you’re not naive enough to believe that the Corinthos family might do the right thing?

Nina: Ava, I assure you that I am not naive. I just… I have someone else advocating for me now.

Willow: [ Clears throat ] Is that what I think it is? One shiny, new passport in all its glory? I’m so glad I paid extra to have it expedited. And now that my big exam’s over and I have a break…

Michael: Alright, well, I will make some calls, and then, Paris, here we come.

Sonny: Oh, sorry to interrupt. The housekeeper let me in.

Michael: Well, you almost never drop by. What’s going on?

Sonny: We need to get on the same page about Nina.

[Voice over] The role of Dr. Monica Quartermaine is temporarily being played by Holly Kaplan.

Monica: Dr. Finn.

Finn: Yes?

Monica: I’m so glad I ran into you.

Finn: Always a pleasure, Dr. Quartermaine.

Monica: It’s been so long since I’ve had the department heads at my house for dinner, so I’m going to set something up this week, and you’ll all get an e-mail about it.

Finn: Okay.

Monica: We can all let off some steam and then get to know each other better outside of the hospital. And, of course, significant others are welcome, so you can invite Elizabeth.

Finn: Oh, well, thank you for the invitation, Dr. Quartermaine, but I would be attending solo. Elizabeth and I have decided to hit pause on our relationship.

Elizabeth: [ Groans ] Stupid machine.

Drew: Easy, there.

Elizabeth: Oh, hi. [ Chuckles nervously ] I’m so frustrated. This — I put my money in, and it’s just stuck.

Drew: Ahh.

[ Elizabeth sighs ]

[ Bag falls ]

Elizabeth: Oh. Thank you. [ Chuckles ] Wish I could learn that trick.

Drew: Navy seal training.

Elizabeth: Oh.

[ Both chuckle ]

Drew: Hey, you want to talk about it?

Elizabeth: [ Groans ] All the pain and suffering we’ve been going through because of Peter? Yeah, well, it finally caught up to my family.

Victor: Johann, good news. Seems that Drew Cain may actually be able to give us access to what we’ve been searching for after all.

Johann: How’s that possible?

Victor: This was amongst the items found on Peter’s dead body. In life, he managed to prevent me from gaining access to Drew’s memories, but in death, he has so graciously given me a way to get everything I so badly need.

Eileen: Laura?

Laura: Eileen, hi.

Eileen: It’s funny running into you here. Your official calendar said you had a meeting with the state’s chamber of commerce.

Laura: Oh, yeah, right. That got rescheduled. I’m just grabbing a quick lunch. See you back at City Hall.

Eileen: Mm-hmm.

Victor: Well?

Eileen: You’ve got a problem.

Victor: Tell me something I don’t know. What is it this time?

Eileen: Sam McCall, Robert Scorpio, and Laura Collins are getting too close.

Laura: Just ran into my Deputy Mayor out there. Hope I didn’t keep anybody waiting.

Dante: Oh, no, Sam and I just got here.

Robert: Well, at last we are all assembled — the group that are going to take out Victor Cassadine.

Felicia: Is all this subterfuge really necessary?

Anna: Uh, yes. I mean, we have to be careful that none of Victor’s associates are hanging around, keeping watch on this place. Thankfully, when I spoke with Frisco, he didn’t ask too many questions.

Felicia: He never did.

Anna: On the books, it just says that we’re spending the next few hours being debriefed by the Bureau about all the circumstances surrounding Peter’s death.

Felicia: Transportation bureau’s office looks like it’s going to be closing for the night soon.

Anna: Oh, yeah, you’re right. Can’t waste a moment. We really need to find proof that Luke didn’t die in a random accident — he was murdered.

[ Door opens ]

[ Conversing in German ]

Clerk One: There you are. It’s not like you to be late.

Clerk Two: Ja, ja.

Clerk One: My shift’s over.

Clerk Two: Gut.

Clerk One: I’ll see you in the morning.

Clerk Two: Bis morgen.

Clerk One: Good night.

Clerk Two: Tschuss

[ Door opens ]

[ Felicia crying ]

Anna: Guten abend.

Clerk Two: (Speaking German) We will be closing soon.

Anna: Okay. Um, I’m — I’m so sorry that this is last minute, but, uh, I’m wondering if you could help us with, um, a really important matter.

[ Crying continues ]

Johann: That card is going to allow you to access Drew Cain’s old memories?

Victor: Huh. There’s only one way to find out. I’ll have to lure Drew to some secluded location and then activate the conditioning.

Johann: You tried that before, and it didn’t work out.

Victor: That’s because I was misled by Peter with the wrong tarot card.

Johann: Drew figured out what you were doing. You denied it once. You try that again, there’ll be no denying it.

Victor: You make an excellent point. Oh, it’d be a terrible waste, but if the conditioning of Drew doesn’t work this time, he’ll just have to be eliminated.

Drew: I’m so sorry to hear that your family is suffering, Elizabeth. Do you want to talk about it?

Elizabeth: [ Chuckles ] You don’t need me to unload all my baggage. I’m sure you’ve got enough going on in your life. I mean, Peter took two years from you that you can’t get back.

Drew: Hey, I am always here for you and for your family. I hope you know that.

Elizabeth: Alright. Some really strange things have been happening recently. And they all relate to Franco. At first, I thought it was his mom, but it turns out she was hospitalized at the time, and now, as much as I don’t want to admit it, all signs are starting to point to Jake.

Monica: I am very sorry to hear about you and Elizabeth. I always liked you two as a couple.

Finn: So did I. Maybe someday, but Elizabeth decided now wasn’t the right time to pursue something.

Monica: Well, it’s none of my business, but please know that I always rooted for both of you. I’m very fond of you, and I always had a soft spot for Elizabeth in my heart. I’ve known her since she was a teenager, and she was my daughter Emily’s best friend. And she’s the mother of my grandson, Jake. And my connection to her family goes back even further, because way back in the day, I was married to her father.

Finn: You were married to Jeff Webber?

Monica: Oh, yes. Even though it seems like a lifetime ago.

Finn: Huh.

Monica: But it certainly didn’t end well. Neither of us were faithful. But I know Jeff’s lived a life of service as a doctor to the underserved all around the world. But still, it just breaks my heart that he doesn’t have a relationship with Elizabeth or his grandsons. I always wondered what happened there, but then, I guess you never know what really goes on in families, do you?

Finn: Judging by my own difficult family history, no. No, you don’t.

[ Elevator bell dings ]

Michael: Look, Willow and I are already on the same page regarding Nina.

Willow: I assume this is about Wiley.

Sonny: Yeah, I know you and Nina got into it the other day.

Willow: Is that how Nina described it? Nina thought I didn’t know what happened between the two of you. She tried to exploit my ignorance to get a visit with Wiley, and I made it clear that wasn’t going to happen.

Sonny: Okay, see, that’s the thing. You gotta keep my private life out of this.

Michael: Dad, come on, this isn’t about you. This is about Nina. She lied to us over and over again. We don’t trust her.

Sonny: Do I have to remind you that grandparents have rights in the state of New York and Wiley and Nina are blood family, Michael?

Michael: Yeah, look, Nina has a right to go before a judge and petition for the right to see Wiley, and there’s no guarantee that that petition will work, especially since Willow and I have a right to argue against visitation. Then it’s up to a judge to decide.

Sonny: Okay, what if I can get Nina to back off and not file that motion in court to begin with?

Michael: W-w-why — why would she do that?

Sonny: Because I believe I can convince Nina to not do that, and then we all get what we want.

Ava: Did you fire Martin and hire a different lawyer?

Nina: No, my current plan is to try to avoid going to court.

Ava: How?

Nina: Well… Sonny offered to talk to Michael and Willow, to try to get them to see the wisdom in lowering the temperature on all of this — you know, get them to see that they’re better off not having a court ruling on this matter.

Ava: I see.

Nina: Hey, what — what does that mean?

Ava: Nothing. I… I just don’t want you to have false hope.

Nina: Sonny seems convinced it’s going to work.

Ava: Mmm. Sonny thought a lot of his recent plans were gonna work, though, right?

Nina: Well, it’s not his fault that Carly was combative and unreasonable.

Ava: Carly is always combative and unreasonable. It’s a little late for Sonny to complain about that now. But — but that doesn’t even matter, does it? Because they’re divorced and… Sonny is going to bat for you.

Nina: He is just trying to find an equitable solution.

Ava: Hmm. He’s trying to impress you. I’ve known Sonny for a long time, and the man cannot be without a woman. He’s one of those. And now that Carly is out of the way, y-you have your opening to get in there and get what you want. Right? I mean, correct me if I’m wrong, but you do want Sonny. Don’t you?

Felicia: [ Sobbing ]

Anna: There we go. Okay. Yes, you just sit there. Uh, I’m so sorry. Do you, by any chance, speak English? Because my German is a bit rubbish.

Clerk Two: Uh, I’ll do my best.

Anna: Oh, perfect. Thank you. I’m an attorney, and I’m representing the Randolph Forsythe estate.

[ Felicia sobbing loudly ]

Anna: And, um, this is his widow. And Felicia has been led to believe that her late husband was a passenger onboard that cable car that had that tragic accident back in December. Uh, yes. Unfortunately, the investigators were unable to find any evidence to prove that Randolph was indeed onboard. And, you know, as you can imagine, that’s left the estate in flux and…

Felicia: [ Sobbing continues ]

Anna: So, uh, what I was hoping was that maybe we could have a look at the evidence, just to see if we can find some actual proof that he was indeed a passenger.

Clerk Two: Oh, I’m not authorized to let anyone see the records, outside of government officials.

Felicia: I told you that this would be a waste of time! This issue will never end!   [ Loudly sobbing ]

Anna: Herr Forsythe… [ Speaking German ] Mr. Forsythe told my client that he was in Austria, but I have reason to believe he’s alive and ran off with his mistress instead. If my client see proof her husband wasn’t on board, she can move on with her life.

Felicia: [ Sobbing ]

Anna: [ Speaking German ] Please help me give her some closure.

Clerk: But I can’t allow you access to the computers.

Anna: [ Sighs ]

Clerk Two: But… I’ll let you see the hard copies.

Felicia: [ Gasps ] Yes! That will work! Oh, yes! Thank you, kind sir. A thousand thank yous. Yes!

Laura: So Victor took the bait? He thinks he has the tarot card that’s going to activate Drew’s conditioning?

Sam: Yeah. He thinks that Peter had it on him when he died.

Dante: He thinks he’s got the key. He’s going to reach out to Drew.

Robert: Um, bit unorthodox, don’t you think?

Dante: Yeah, I thought so at first, too, but I think it’s going to work.

Laura: Is anyone concerned that he might actually be able to activate Drew?

Dante: Not with that card, but we’re going to be monitoring the situation in real time. And Drew’s aware, he’s in the loop. He knows what’s going on. Hopefully, we get something incriminating out of Victor.

Robert: Children, this is insanely convoluted. You realize that? I mean, it’s clever, but, wsht!

Laura: Well, hopefully, it leads us somewhere, because I still can’t fully understand how these things are connected. If Luke was killed for the Ice Princess diamond, what does that have to do with Drew’s past?

Nina: It’s not as simple as wanting Sonny or not.

Ava: Well, I hope you’re not worried about the fallout from Sonny’s family, ’cause that ship has certainly sailed.

Nina: Yeah, I know that, trust me. No, it’s not about that.

Ava: Then what are you waiting for?

Nina: The Mike that I fell in love with in Nixon Falls is very much who Sonny is now, but recently, I’ve been confronted with a side of Sonny that I… I-I don’t really know.

Ava: What? What? How so?

Nina: Well, I went to his penthouse the other night, and I… Ava, sometimes I just don’t recognize him, and it makes me wonder if I’m just repeating my self-destructive patterns

Sonny: I don’t think that Nina will file a legal motion if you allow her to see Wiley from time to time.

Michael: We don’t want that.

Sonny: [ Sighs ] Didn’t I say, Michael, that Nina and Wiley are blood related? Right? If — if… you get the courts involved, they could rule against you, and then the courts are going to dictate Nina’s visitation time. All you got to do is let her see Wiley from time to time, and you’re going to be dictating the terms.

Michael: Willow and I, we don’t think it’s healthy for Nina to be in Wiley’s life. So what — what do we gain by, uh, playing along?

Willow: I know you have feelings for Nina, but to be perfectly honest, I don’t trust her. Even if Michael and I agree to a compromise, there’s a strong chance Nina will still file a legal claim.

Sonny: You don’t trust her? I trust her.

Michael: See, that — that right there is a problem, because you shouldn’t trust Nina.

Drew: Do you really think Jake is behind the incidents?

Elizabeth: Well, I don’t want to. But you were there when he first came home, after he’d been kidnapped by Helena. There was a darkness about him. And do you remember what happened in my old home, when Sam was trapped in the basement?

Drew: Now, that was an accident, and we proved it. And Jake was able to recover from what happened on Cassadine Island because he had you to help him. He had a family that he could count on. Right? So if Jake is struggling, I know — I know — that you have the strength to help him through that again.

Monica: Jake, what’s going on?

Finn: Do you have an appointment? Does your mom know where you are?

Monica: Jake, talk to me. You know you can tell me anything.

Finn: Monica, do you mind if, um, Jake and I have a moment alone?

Monica: He’s, my grandson.

Finn: No, I realize that, yeah, but, um… there might be some things that, uh, you don’t want to, you know, disclose to your grandmother, you know?

Monica: Okay, Jake, let’s swap spots.

Finn: Where’s your mom? I mean, does she know where you are?

Jake: No. You can’t make me go back there.

Finn: Jake…

[ Door closes ]

Finn: Okay.

Jake: I had an appointment with Dr. Massey. I told her I had to use the bathroom, and then I made a run for it.

Finn: You made a run for it? Okay. So why’d you take off? What was that all about?

Jake: It’s — whatever. Just forget it.

Finn: No, I can’t forget about it. You know, I mean, we’ve got rules here. If you don’t go back to Dr. Massey’s office soon, then she’s gonna call hospital security. I mean, there’s a whole procedure for when a child goes missing.

Jake: I’m not a child.

Finn: I-I realize that. I meant when a minor goes missing. As a matter of fact, I could get fired if I don’t call this in, so unless you can give me a good reason why I don’t take you back…

Jake: I’m not going back there. I’m tired of being accused of setting Franco’s studio on fire.

Elizabeth: Thank you for your support. I needed to hear that.

Drew: Ah.

Elizabeth: Here.

Monica: Elizabeth. Sorry to interrupt you, but I just saw Jake down on the first floor. It seems like he skipped out on his doctor’s appointment.

Elizabeth: What? Oh, I need to go find him.

Monica: No, he’s okay. He’s with Finn. And they wanted, you know, to have their privacy. But, you know, maybe Jake will open up to Finn. But can I ask you something? What is going on with my grandson?

Elizabeth: I made him an appointment with Dr. Massey. He’s going through something.

Monica: Of course, that’s understandable. He’s lost his — his stepfather and his dad all in the same year. That’d be hard for anyone.

Elizabeth: Yeah, um… I think we might also be dealing with some behavioral issues.

Monica: I’m sorry to hear that. Losing Franco and then Jason, it’s just too much.

Michael: You can’t let go of your feelings for Nina. That’s why you trust her. N-not because she’s trustworthy. I mean, come on, she lied to your wife and your kids for almost a year about you being alive. Now, that should be a major red flag, but I don’t understand why it’s not.

Sonny: What you don’t understand is I already confronted that issue, Michael. I’m just trying to take down the temperature here. That’s all.

Willow: I appreciate your intentions. But we are past the point where turning down the temperature will do any good.

Sonny: Alright. Well, you know what? It was a mistake to even come here.

Michael: You’re right, it is, because, once again, you’re choosing Nina’s interests over your family.

Ava: I thought we’d already addressed this. Or are you slipping back into “poor me” territory?

Nina: No.

Ava: You wanted Sonny. You took him. What, you’re gonna have a crisis of conscience about it now?

Nina: It’s not about that, Ava. [ Sighs ] Sonny, he’s just dealing with some issues right now, and I-I think it’s wise for me to just stay away from him until it’s settled.

Ava: Okay. But it’s okay that he goes to bat for you, though? Alright, what — what are these… issues that you’re talking about?

[ Door closes ]

Victor: My dear Ava. Ah! Looking as a ravishing, as always.

Ava: Ah, Uncle Victor, you’re too kind. D-do you know my friend, Nina reeves?

Victor: My wayward son’s ex-wife. Oh, it’s such a shame you and Valentin couldn’t make things work.

Nina: Well, sadly, I couldn’t trust him. I see now where he has inherited that trait.

[ Conversing in German ]

Clerk One: Did you see my phone in the office?

Clerk Two: Ah, ah. Bitte. There are two women inside. An American, and a Brit. I know they’re not authorized, but one of them had family in December’s accident.

Clerk One: Describe them; what do they look like?

Felicia: Okay, so the recordkeeper is still gone. What exactly are we looking for?

Anna: Gosh, I-I-i don’t know, really. Just some kind of inconsistency that can lead us somewhere.

Felicia: Mm.

Anna: You were really hamming it up with the whole grieving widow thing back there.

Felicia: Oh, I’m sorry. I was so nervous. I’m so out of practice with the whole undercover stuff. Was it too much?

Anna: Well, I’m just grateful that you were playing an American, ’cause god knows what you would do with an accent.

Felicia: Oh, stop. You know, since the Floating Rib is gone, maybe I could get back into the PI game. What do you think? That enthusiastic, huh?

Ann: No, I might have found something that can prove that the cable car crash was no accident.

Elizabeth: It’s no wonder he wasn’t ready for me to start dating again.

Monica: I suspect the circumstances surrounding Jason’s death haven’t helped.

Drew: Which means we’re all kind of in a state of flux.

Monica: Elizabeth, do you need me to stick around?

Elizabeth: Oh, no, thank you, but I’m okay. I’m going to be okay.

Drew: I’ll see you at home, okay?

Monica: Take care, Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: Okay. And you don’t need to stick around, either.

Drew: Come on. It’s what family’s for.

Finn: Why do you think Dr. Massey believes you burned down Franco’s art studio?

Jake: You believe it, too. So does my mom. That’s why I had to go see Dr. Massey. I already know the drill. I’ve been in and out of therapy since I was 8 years old. Ever since what happened to me, I… no wonder people think I’m crazy.

Finn: Jake, no one believes that.

Jake: Well, clearly, my mom and Dr. Massey are still thinking I’m disturbed like I was when I was a kid. That’s why she’s asking me all these leading questions, like was I really at a friend’s house the night the studio burned? Or why was I at the library when a picture of my mom showed up at the house?

Finn: Okay, well, maybe there’s another way to look at this. I mean… people are acknowledging that you’ve been through a lot this past year. You were close with Franco. And not only did you lose him, but you lost your dad as well.

Jake: My mom lost Franco, too. So why would I want to torture her like that? I want her to be happy.

Finn: Even if it means she’s maybe moving on from Franco?

Dante: Could we, you know, maybe be complicating this in a certain way? I mean, look, the Ice Princess is worth the GDP of a small country. Maybe Victor’s literally just after the money.

Sam: I mean, it certainly motivates a lot of people, but…

Robert: Laura and I dealt with Victor back in the day. [ Scoffs ] The guy’s a playboy.

Laura: [ Chuckles ] Uh, yeah. He was that. He liked the finer things in life. I would say that he was mostly motivated by lust and greed. Although, you know, lately, I have noticed that he seems to like to play God. The Ice Princess diamond, Luke’s death, and… something that Drew’s supposed to remember. They add up to something.

Eileen: Mayor Collins? Is there something going on that I should know about?

Ava: Nina, you’re talking to a member of my family.

Victor: Oh, that’s all right. There’s really no escaping my less-than-reputable past, which is why I intend to make amends in the future by giving back to the world.

Nina: Through what, charity?

Victor: Something like that.

Nina: For Valentin’s sake, I hope that’s the truth.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Victor: Oh, excuse me. I’m afraid I have to take this. Uh… [ Ringing continues ] I’ll see you soon, my dear Ava.

Ava: Yes, indeed. I so look forward to it.

Nina: What the hell was all that about?

Felicia: You have my full attention. What did you find?

Anna: Okay, so this is the schedule of the day of the accident. Okay, and now, the cable car in question was supposed to leave the dock, right here, at 9:15 A.M., But it didn’t actually leave until 9:27 A.M.

Felicia: Well, that’s not unusual, right? I mean, delays happen all the time with public transportation. Subways usually have a schedule, but everyone knows they bear little resemblance to reality.

Anna: Right, but this is Austria, okay, and that’s a 12-minute delay, and it should be noted in the records, but it isn’t. There’s nothing here. There’s no engine trouble. There’s no weather issues, no staffing issues.

Felicia: Maybe the car was deliberately held back until Luke arrived to ensure he was on it.

Anna: That’s what I’m thinking. And as we both know, Luke spencer was never punctual a day in his life, so it’s as good a theory as any.

Victor: [ Speaking to Clerk One ] Yes, Kurt. What do you want?

Kurt: We have a situation. There are two women in the records room looking for information about the crash.

Victor: Two women, you say? By any chance, is one of them an American blonde, and the other a British brunette?

Kurt: That’s exactly how my colleague described them. Do you know who they are?

Victor: Yeah, I’m afraid I do. The Brit is a senior WSB agent. I knew she was in the area. I just wasn’t aware she was there to investigate the crash.

Kurt: She’s in the records room right now. I was working inspection the day of the crash. She could uncover the truth.

Victor: Yeah, well, she won’t, will she? Because you’re going to handle it. How? By any means necessary.

Anna: Okay, I’m going to review the rest of these records, starting with trying to find who was inspecting the cable cars that morning. And then I’m gonna photograph the pertinent ones so that I can have a look at them when we’re back home.

Felicia: Mm. Sounds like it’s going to take some time. We’re going to need to make sure that nice man doesn’t come back here anytime soon. Maybe I can charm him into going on a coffee run to buy some time.

Anna: Okay, thank you.

Felicia: Mm-hmm.

Anna: Um, you know what? Just take it easy with the whole handkerchief thing.

Laura: Eileen. I’m just, uh, catching up with my friends, that’s all.

Eileen: A senior detective on the PCPD and the district attorney?

Dante: Whoa, whoa. Laura was my mother-in-law, and I still consider her like family.

Robert: Laura and I, we go back decades.

[ Ashby chuckles ]

Eileen: You all can say whatever you want, but the mayor’s official duties and calendar is a matter of public record. [ Sighs ] Frankly, this isn’t the first time I’ve caught you in a white lie like this.

Laura: Eileen! I-I think there’s been a misunderstanding. I mean, surely I’m entitled to a social life, right? To spend time with my friends?

Eileen: I still have some more questions.

Laura: Do I have to remind you that you work for me and not the other way around?

Eileen: I know that you are my boss, but the Government Oversight Committee has been breathing down this office’s neck ever since former Mayor Lomax resigned in disgrace. If there is any discrepancy on your public schedule, you need to correct it. Let your constituents know you’re meeting with other public officials, personal matter or not.

Laura: I can’t do that.

Eileen: Why not?

Sonny: That’s not what’s happening here, Michael. I’ve never chosen Nina over my family.

Michael: So then why didn’t you just tell us the truth about what happened in Nixon Falls? Or why — why — why didn’t you warn me that you weren’t going to testify against Nina, that you wanted to protect her from the consequences of what she did?

Sonny: Okay, I’m gonna give it to you straight, because you like to hear one side.

Michael: Okay.

Sonny: When I came home from Nixon Falls… I found my wife had married my best friend. I had to wrap my head around that. And then my best friend, Jason, dies, and just like you thought that you had lost me, I was trying to keep my family together and not make a-a bad situation worse. Yes, it didn’t work out the way I hoped. I wanted to tell you and the whole family the truth on my terms. Didn’t happen. You got to remember something. I’m your father. I’m always going to do what’s best for you, and that’s what I’m trying to do right now. Don’t you ever forget that.

Elizabeth: I really do appreciate you looking out for me and my family, but I can handle whatever’s going on with Jake.

Drew: I have no doubt about that. I’m just saying that, maybe while you’re taking care of the boys, I can look out for you.

Elizabeth: I just wish I had caught on to Jake’s behavior sooner. You know, I was so focused on figuring out if I was ready to date. I don’t — I don’t think I paid enough attention to my boys’ feelings.

Drew: No, Elizabeth, I know you. I know that you always put your boys first. I’m sure that you came to a decision that was very well-informed that the boys were ready.

Elizabeth: Mm, you might be giving me too much credit. Not possible. I’m as susceptible to tunnel vision as anyone else. I only see what I want. You’re a perfect example.

Drew: Me?

Elizabeth: I believed you were Jason, and I didn’t tell anyone.

Drew: That was ancient history, Elizabeth. You were in a bad emotional place at the time, a-and you came out the other side, which is why I know for sure that you’ve got the strength to help Jake through whatever’s going on with him. If that’s even what’s really happening.

Jake: You actually think I did all those things just because I didn’t like you dating my mom? I already told you I was okay with that. As long as you’re good to my mom, we have no problems.

Finn: I believe you, Jake. I really do. But, you know, the — the police, they, uh, told your mom that whoever put the painting in the living room, they didn’t break in, you know? They had access to the brownstone. And it’s not like anyone actually saw you in the library that morning. Unless there’s some other reason you don’t want to tell anyone what you were really doing that day.

Ava: I don’t have any idea what you’re talking about.

Nina: Are you kidding me? That charm offense that you were giving Valentin’s father? Ew! I mean, what was going on there? And do not tell me nothing, ’cause, clearly, you have something up your sleeve.

Ava: Mm. It’s just that the Cassadines are a complicated bunch, and it’s best for everybody if we all get along.

Nina: Is that your polite way of saying that I should just butt out?

Ava: Emphasis on polite. Just like I will butt out of your relationship with Sonny. But not before telling you that I know that Sonny is advocating for you with Willow and Michael because he’s in love with you.

Nina: Well, I’m not sure I want that on my conscience.

Michael: You want to do what’s best for me? Then respect the decision that Willow and I have made for our son.

Sonny: Why would you want to use your son to punish Nina?

Willow: This is not about punishing Nina. This is about what’s appropriate for Wiley. You’re an adult, Sonny. If Nina lies to you or twists the facts, you can handle it — or not. But Wiley is a child, and Nina’s already confused him enough.

Monica: Sonny. This is certainly a surprise.

Sonny: Hi, Monica. I was just — I was just leaving.

Monica: Well, since you’re here, uh, there’s something you should know. All three of you. I was doing some serious thinking on my way home about the ambiguity surrounding Jason’s death. This is not good, for his children to be living inside this limbo. I’m going to petition the court to have Jason legally declared dead.

Jake: I better get back to Dr. Massey. I don’t want to get you in trouble.

Finn: No, don’t worry about me. This is about you. Can someone actually corroborate what you were doing that morning?

Jake: Forget it.

Finn: No, I’m not going to forget it. Come on, Jake. Tell me the truth.

Jake: I can’t tell you!

Finn: Why? Why can’t you tell me the truth?

Jake: If my mom finds out what I did, she’ll never forgive me.

Elizabeth: Thanks for the pep talk.

Drew: My shoulder is at your service whenever you need it.

Elizabeth: Mm.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Drew: Showtime.

Eileen: I’m liable for having seen you. I can’t pretend that I didn’t.

Laura: I’m sorry, Eileen. I didn’t realize that I might be putting you in a difficult position. I can’t tell you everything, but, uh, you are my deputy, so I — I guess you do deserve to know something about what’s going on with me.

Robert: Uh, Luara? You sure?

Laura: It’s going to be all right. I have reason to believe that my ex-husband Luke spencer may have been murdered.

Eileen: What?!

Laura: I am working on this in my own time. This is my lunch hour. Now, I have just taken a big step in trusting you. I’m asking you to do the same for me. Can you give me the space I need to work on this situation? Because it needs to be kept separate from our office. Can you do that?

Eileen: Yes. Understood. We can touch base later.

Laura: Thank you, Eileen. Now, where were we?

Drew: What do you want, Victor?

Victor: Mr. Cain. I’m sorry, we seem to have got off on the wrong foot.

Drew: Yeah, two years in a cell, that’s a pretty bad start.

Victor: Yeah, well, Peter was responsible. Peter’s dead. But I’m calling you on a different matter entirely. But it’s important we meet in person.

Elizabeth (to Jake): The only way to fix that is by telling me the truth.

Portia (to Trina): I have some exiting news.

Victor (on phone): That would be a very foolish mistake.

Carly (to Drew): There’s no proof, but there will be.

Spencer: Process of elimination. Trina passed out. Esme and I were already gone. The only person left who could have made that video is you.

Cameron: No. You are insane. You think that I secretly filmed Joss and I having sex and then e-mailed it to everyone at PCU? You think I’m twisted enough to do that?

Spencer: No, I don’t.

Cameron: Thank you.

Spencer: I think that you’re a jerk who wanted a memento of his first time but was too reckless to protect the footage.

Cameron: Oh, go to hell, Spencer. You don’t think I know what you’re doing? It’s not gonna work. You can’t drag me down with you.

Esme: I haven’t ruined anyone’s life, but… …I do feel guilty.

Carly: Really? What for?

Esme: I’m not sure what Josslyn’s told you, but I-I certainly couldn’t blame you. I only wish that I had the closeness that you and your mom share.

Carly: Can you just spit it out, Esme?

Esme: At the cabin, I brought up some things that were very painful for Trina, and I truly regret that. But how could I have ever imagined that she would lash out by betraying her best friend?

Carly: You’re seriously gonna try and pin this video incident on Trina?

Esme: Well, there’s no other explanation.

Carly: Yeah, there is, and she’s standing right in front of me. When I was your age, I was angry at the world and I thought I was owed. And that’s how I know — hurt people hurt people. You need to get some help. And soon. Because if you don’t, the mothers of the people you hurt, they’re not gonna keep it so civil.

Esme: Mrs. Corinthos — it is still Corinthos, isn’t it?

Carly: [ Scoffs ]

Esme: I’m not sure what Josslyn told you, but I certainly can’t blame her, given how confused she must be. I mean, I can’t even imagine the epic humiliation you must be feeling. But it’s not my fault you were pris en flagrant délit.

Josslyn: Oh, I’m sorry. Is that French for “set up by a complete psycho”?

Carly: You did this, and you need to own it.

Esme: But I didn’t!

Carly: And if you don’t own it, I’m gonna find proof. I know that you think you’ve covered your tracks, but I have resources you’ve never even dreamed of. And when I have that proof, I will make you very, very sorry.

Esme: I understand you’re going through a difficult time right now, but your anger is misplaced. I mean… unless you think that I’m also responsible for the infidelity that destroyed your marriage. I wouldn’t worry. Your bed won’t be cold for long, Mrs. Corinthos. Like mother, like daughter.

Carly: You are missing with the wrong people! You hear me?!

Esme: Aah! [Sobbing] Ow! You’re hurting me!

Brook Lynn: I had a million things running through my head, okay? And being in Port Charles without bailey was… [ Sighs ]

Chase: Must have been unbearable.

Brad: I have to. Because the alternative is being trapped by my mistakes.

Brad: Mr. Ashford, what would you say to a joint business venture, one that can benefit us both?

Curtis: I would say thank you for thinking of me, but my plate is full.

Selina: Without hearing the details? That would be premature.

Curtis: Ms. Wu, no disrespect to you, but The Savoy is a legitimate business, and all my dealings are above-board.

Selina: What I’m proposing is legal and profitable.

Curtis: No offense, but, uh, I don’t need money.

Selina: If you were to allow me the use of The Savoy twice a month, it could pay off in ways beyond monetary gain.

Curtis: Use of my club. For what?

Selina: A private social event.

Spencer: That’s low, Cam, accusing Tina.

Cameron: I’m not accusing Trina.

Spencer: Or Esme. Insinuating that I feel something…

Cameron: [ Scoffs ]

Spencer: …Other than friendship for Trina…

Cameron: Please! Anyone with ears and eyes can tell you your feelings for Trina is what set this whole thing in motion.

Spencer: How do you figure?

Cameron: You made your girlfriend feel so threatened and so jealous that she had to take it out on your friends in the most humiliating way she knew how to.

Spencer: How do you explain that Esme and I were miles away from the cabin when that footage was taken?

Cameron: Have you heard of a little thing called technology? When you plug in a video camera or a phone and press record, it will keep recording even after you leave a room or a cabin. Take your pick.

Spencer: It’s a nice theory, Cameron, but it’s not proof.

Cameron:  You know what else is a nice theory? You want it to be me. Because if it isn’t me, then it’s Esme.

Spencer: Mm-hmm. How do I know that you’re not just trying to make Esme look bad?

Cameron: Oh, like she needs my help looking bad? She’s your girlfriend! You know what she’s capable of! Look. Spencer. I swear on the memory of Franco, on my brothers, everything I care about, including Josslyn… I did not do this.

Spencer: Okay. You made your point.

Cameron: Why would I? That footage being out there, it’s humiliating. But it’s — it’s not just my pride that this cost me. This could cost me Josslyn.

Carly: I’m sorry that I overdid it. Alright? But, oh, God, when Esme started running her mouth, I just — I couldn’t take it. And I barely touched her.

Josslyn: Well, that’s not really the point.

Carly: No. It wasn’t my place. You’re an adult now. I’m still getting used to that. But, man, she pissed me off.

Josslyn: Yeah. Tell me about it. She’s the worst.

Carly: I’m sorry if I embarrassed you.

Josslyn: You know, after everything that’s happened, I think I’m pretty much immune to embarrassment. I just hope that Esme doesn’t try to blame you for something.

[ Knock on door ]

Nickolas: Esme, uh, the PA said she’s done examining you. Okay to come in?

Esme: It’s fine.

[ Door opens ]

[ Telephone ringing, indistinct conversations in distance ]

Nikolas: How are you doing?

Esme: Still aches. I’m getting a prescription for pain.

Nikolas: Will you need an x-ray?

Esme: I thought Carly might have sprained my arm, but by some miracle it’s just bruised.

Nikolas: No wonder you’re in pain. Carly should know better than to handle you like that.

Esme: Actually, I sort of admire her. Josslyn’s lucky to have a mom who defends her, even though they’ve got it all wrong.

Nikolas: Have what all wrong?

Esme: Haven’t you heard? I’m the resident scapegoat in Port Charles.

Nikolas: Well, it’s not as though you haven’t done a few deeply regrettable things.

Esme: I take full responsibility for all of my mistakes, which is why this hurts so much. I mean, even after Spence confessed, his friends still accuse me of pulling the strings. Like Spence was a puppet instead of his own man.

Nikolas: We all know that’s not true.

Esme: When I apologize, they tell me I’m…insincere. When I try to make peace, I’m being manipulative. And now they’re accusing me of leaking Joss’ little sex tape. They’re convinced all the trouble between Josslyn, Cameron, and Trina over the last few months is because of me.

Nikolas: And are they right?

Curtis: What kind of private event?

Selina: High-stakes poker.

Curtis: Absolutely not. Ms. Wu, there is no way I’m gonna allow illegal gambling in my nightclub.

Selina: It wouldn’t be illegal, nor would it be just any Friday-night card game. We’re talking exclusive no-limits hold’em where reputable players are vetted to ensure they meet the minimum bankroll and a buy-in of no less than $20,000.

Curtis: Why my place?

Selina: Why not? It’s chic and popular.

Curtis: I’m quite sure The Savoy is not the only nightclub in town with a back room.

Selina: Well, those other places don’t have you, Mr. Ashford. You’re a well-respected man known for your integrity and with ties to the police commissioner.

Curtis: Oh. I see. So you want to exploit my relationships.

Selina: Not exploit. Capitalize. I would never ask you to persuade your ex-wife to look the other way. It — be no reason to. But your standards and boundaries will put the players at ease.

Curtis: So what’s in it for me besides the money?

Selina: Well, since financial gain is not a motivating factor with you, perhaps this will be — the players are from a myriad of backgrounds, from the music industry to real estate and tech. I have many connections.

Curtis: I’m quite aware of your “connections.”

Selina: If you’re concerned about these unsavory characters occupying your establishment, you needn’t worry. The players are legitimate businessmen like yourself.

Curtis: And you?

Selina: I won’t be present. I’ve delegated family to manage the games.

Curtis: Family? Would that be “family” with a capital “f”?

Selina: [ Chuckles ] An actual relation of mine. The person I have in mind is as far from a boss as you can imagine.

Brad: Ahh.

Britt: Bradley… has anyone been giving you trouble since you’ve been out?

Brad: [ Scoffs ] With you as my BFF/bodyguard, who would dare?

Britt: [ Laughs ] Well, I can think of at least one person — Aunt Selina. She has not been shy about her displeasure with our friendship.

Brad: So? I am a grown-ass man, and she’s… still out of town.

Britt: You know what? Why don’t we go somewhere more casual, low-key?

Brad: Oh. What did you have in mind? Someplace with peanut shells on the floor?

Britt: [ Chuckles ] At least at some dive we don’t have to worry about one of Aunt Selina’s minions spotting you and reporting back.

Brad: Good point. No. Screw it. We’ll be careful… next time. Okay? Today we risk it all. Because today… we are celebrating.

Britt: Oh! Great! What are we celebrating? What obscure pagan holiday have you found to justify our inebriation this time?

Brad: We are celebrating… …my new job!

Britt: [ Laughs ]

Chase: Well, at least you’re consistent.

Brook Lynn: What did I mess up now?

Chase: Oh, it was this time last year that you returned to Port Charles with that fake baby bump.

Brook Lynn: [ Exhales sharply ] Really? I didn’t even realize. How did you know?

Chase: I pay attention.

Brook Lynn: Right.

Chase: So what is it about this time of year that makes you want to leave or brings you back?

Brook Lynn: You.

Chase: Me?

Brook Lynn: You, like, everybody. The collective. Like, my dad and Maxie and Leo. It was really nice visiting Brooklyn, but Port Charles is where I belong.

Chase: I’m glad.

Brook Lynn: I’m glad you’re glad.

Chase: Oh, uh, speaking of where things belong… you left a few things at the house, and Violet spent the night the other night and found… this.

Brook Lynn: What are you doing with that? That’s private.

Brook Lynn: Tell me you did not read this.

Chase: Uh, Violet was flipping through it, so I checked it out a little bit, but…

Brook Lynn: I don’t show my songbook to anyone.

Chase: Okay. Um, it’s not like it’s a diary. It’s —

Brook Lynn: It’s the closest thing I have to one. [ Sighs ]

Chase: Okay. I-I’m sorry. I-I didn’t mean to invade your privacy. How long have you been writing songs?

Brook Lynn: Doesn’t matter. It’s not like they’re any good.

Chase: Yes, they are.

Brook Lynn: [ Scoffs ]

Chase: They’re very good.

Brook Lynn: You don’t have to say that.

Chase: No, I-I know I don’t have to, but here I am saying it. Look, and I might not know much about songwriting…

Brook Lynn: Clearly.

Chase: …But I do know good lyrics and a good melody. I actually… sang one of them.

Brook Lynn: You sang one of my songs? That was meant for someone el– [ Sighs ]

Chase: They were meant for you to sing.

Carly: So, you ready for some blueberry pancakes?

Josslyn: [Voice breaking] I’m sorry. I lost my appetite. I have to go.

Carly: Come here. Come here. That video… it was meant to hurt you and throw you off balance. It was meant to torture you.

Josslyn: Mission accomplished.

Carly: Yeah, for now. And right now you get to feel your feelings. You get to scream and cry as loud as you want and let it move through your system.

Josslyn: Well, assuming that happens, when will all of this pain and this humiliation go away?

Carly: Eventually.

Josslyn: Great. [ Sighs ]

Carly: Hey. When’s the last time you talked to Cam?

Josslyn: Yesterday.

Carly: That’s not like him to be M.I.A. You guys need to be a united front right now.

Josslyn: No, it’s not his fault. I turned my phone off. I…needed time.

Carly: I get that. What about Trina? I mean, Esme’s trying to pin this whole video thing on her. You need to rally around her, too. You know that. Baby, eventually, none of this is gonna matter. People won’t remember. And hiding and running isn’t gonna make that happen any faster.

Cameron: Joss says she knows I wouldn’t do this, but… there’s a hesitation. It’s like she can’t trust me anymore because she doesn’t trust people anymore, and I’m just worried that all this — this trauma and humiliation will make her not want to be with me.

Spencer: I wouldn’t worry. Joss is made of stronger stuff than that.

Cameron: I know. But we’ve both been receiving some weird and creepy messages.

Spencer: Like what?

Cameron: Well, there’s random people congratulating me. And there’s some people critiquing my technique. But for Joss, it’s so much worse. It’s — they’re calling her… well, you can imagine what they’re calling her.

Spencer: Yeah.

Cameron: My first time was broadcast to the world. Do you really think I wanted that?

Spencer: No. I know you didn’t. I’m sorry. I should never have accused you. You’re right. I do know you better than that.

Cameron: Thank you. I’m sorry for shoving your rap sheet in your face.

Spencer: Yeah, man. You’re really awful. I can’t even believe that I wanted you to stop by.

Cameron: Well, then I guess I should be going.

Spencer: Hey, hold up. Now that we’ve, uh, established that you’re not some predatory creep, you want to split this cupcake?

Esme: Spence and I weren’t anywhere near the cabin when it all went down, but they’re still blaming me.

Nikolas: That doesn’t seem fair. But you have to admit, your track record hasn’t been great since you showed up here.

Esme:  Yes. I’ve made mistakes — for Spence. When he asked. I’ve tried to convince Joss and Cam and Trina that I’ve grown since then, but they won’t let me move on!

Nikolas: I know firsthand… what it’s like to have people think the worst of you. But you don’t seem the type that’s easily defeated. Yes, you know, having a colorful past, it makes it harder to prove yourself. But that doesn’t mean you stop trying.

Esme: Thanks. You’re right, Mr. Cassadine. It’s just been so hard… being on my own while Spence is in prison.

Nikolas: He’s only gonna be gone a month. He’ll be out in no time.

Esme: Still… I feel like the time he’s in there, people still judge me.

Nikolas: Maybe you feel that way because the people around you haven’t been supportive. My family and I could definitely do better on that front. Tell me, Esme. Be honest. Have we made it harder for you?

Britt: So, when did you land this gainful employment?

Brad: I haven’t started yet.

Britt: What does it entail?

Brad: You tell me. I need to keep busy, do some good. Can you get me a job at G.H.?

Britt: [ Chuckles ] Uh, wow. That is a tall order.

Brad: You know my qualifications.

Britt: No, it has nothing to do with that. I-I could lobby for H.R. To look past your criminal record.

Brad: But…?

Getting coworkers, and especially Lucas’ friends, to accept that you’re coming back? I mean, it would — it wouldn’t be easy.

Brad: No, I — I get it. [ Chuckles ] And I don’t want to put you in a bad position. It’s just that I’M… really scared. I’m living off my Aunt Selina right now. What if she decides to trade on my dependence? I can barely sleep at night from the… last task she assigned me.

Britt: Okay. Fine. I’ll — I’ll go to bat for you.

Brad: You will?

Britt: Of course. But just remember, I am not sole chief of staff. I can’t do anything without Terry’s approval.

Brad: [ Chuckles ] Not a problem. There’s nothing you can’t sell.

Britt: [ Laughs ] I’ll sell if you’ll buy. This bottle is empty.

Both: Waiter!

Selina: As host, you would oversee my nephew, who in turn will oversee the games.

Curtis: Your nephew? Brad Cooper?

Selina: I see you’re familiar with my nephew’s history. I assure you Bradley has turned over a new leaf, and I will be keeping him on a tight leash.

Curtis: Okay. So how does this work? Because it’s illegal to profit off of this without a gaming license.

Selina: It’s illegal to profit off the promotion of the games or to collect any part of the pot. But this could still be a winning proposition for me. High rollers are grateful for creditable venues to play, and gratitude is a currency in my line of business.

Curtis: I appreciate your interest, okay? But my plate is full.

Selina: Let me stop you right there, Mr. Ashford, before you make a mistake you’ll live to regret.

Curtis: You know, for a minute there, it sounded like you might be threatening me.

Selina: Not at all. I’m merely making a plea for you not to act in haste.

Curtis: Or I’ll live to regret it.

Selina: Mr. Ashford, my grandfather was from the old country. He was fond of his proverbs, often told the story of a man who was down on his luck and prayed for prosperity. This man discovered a money tree and took it home. He watered it and nurtured it for many days and many nights, but no money grew. Eventually, his wife grew disgusted with him and the tree and demanded that he remove it from the house. But the man persisted. Before long, he realized the tree provided seeds, which he planted. The tree never grew money, but the man grew a fortune, cultivating and selling the trees themselves.

Curtis: I appreciate the story, but I’m not sure how it applies in this situation.

Selina: If you don’t open your mind to possibility, you’ll never know what you can grow. Take some time. Mull it over. I’m confident you’ll move forward with my proposition. Then you’ll discover… I can be a very valuable friend to have.

Brook Lynn: I was writing these songs for my album when that psycho Nelle cut my throat. Lot of good these songs will do me now. Maybe I should just trash ’em.

Chase: Don’t you dare.

Brook Lynn: What? Why not? What’s the point?

Chase: Look, a singing career… might be over, but — but a songwriting career is still possible.

Brook Lynn: It’s a pipe dream.

Chase: [ Scoffs ]

Chase: {singing} I was two minutes late / I stood and watched it fly away / in the days sitting next to you / You said that you would miss yours, too / Oh, whoa

Brook Lynn: [ Chuckles ]

Chase: {singing} It feels like the sky is fallin’ / shattered like a vase / I’m starting to think I’m falling into place / feels like the sky is crashing / crashing over me / I’m starting to think / I’m falling into place

Brook Lynn: Wow.

Chase: Look, and — and I’m — it’s probably not much with me singing it, but do you believe me now? You are incredibly talented.

Brook Lynn: [ Exhales sharply ] Go on. No, really. I-I could use a boost.

Chase: Okay. On — on top of being incredibly talented, you, Brook Lynn, are compassionate. You’re brave. You’re funny. You’re beautiful. And did I mention that you were funny?

[ Both chuckle ]

Brook Lynn: Out of all those compliments, that’s the one you repeat?

Chase: See? I rest my case. If you ever need reminding… just how great you are… …you know where to find me.

Brook Lynn: Thanks. And, um… just for the record, I really miss my friend.

Spencer: Have you heard from Trina? I’ve been trying to text her.

Cameron: Phones are allowed in here?

Spencer: Of course not. I am not now, nor have I ever been in possession of a phone, but I know that this must be killing Trina. She cares a lot about you two.

Cameron: Joss and I, we’ve been so busy with putting out fires, we haven’t been able to reach out to her yet.

Spencer: You should. As long as you don’t suspect her. Because I know that it wasn’t her.

Cameron: We both know that. Your girlfriend disagrees.

Spencer: Esme doesn’t know what I do. Trina didn’t send any text when that video hit.

Cameron: How could you know that?

Trina: Do not make this about me! I’m not the one who snuck out of country club jail so I could tool around some old cemetery.

Spencer: I just know that Trina wouldn’t do that.

Cameron: Right. So that only leaves one option.

Spencer: It wasn’t Esme.

Cameron: That’s the best you can do? Spencer, you saw what happened when we all went to that cabin. She was stirring the pot. She was upsetting Trina. She’s jealous of the bond that you and Trina have.

Spencer: I told you. Trina and I —

Cameron: Are “just friends.”  Yeah, sure. But what if Esme wasn’t in the picture? Would you be more? Spencer, can you really tell me that you’ve never suspected that Esme is behind this sex tape?

Esme: Spence’s grandmother, your mom, has shown me a lot of grace taking me in while Spence is away.

Nikolas: My mother can be pretty tough. I’ve been on the other end of that more than I can count.

Esme: No tougher than anyone else in the family. And I’ve earned it.

Nikolas: Well, I’m part of your new family, too. If you ever need to talk… I appreciate it. And I’d like to return the favor by giving you something that you want more than anything in the world.

Josslyn: You’re right. I have to stop hiding.

[ Cellphone chiming rapidly ]

Josslyn: Oh, God.

Carly: Josslyn, don’t read those.

Josslyn: Oh, God. There’s so many messages! They’re vile!

Carly: Let me see.

Josslyn: Mom, I’m gonna have to delete everything.

Carly: You’ve got to be kidding me. What happened to you and Cam wasn’t just invasive and cruel. It was criminal. And the viper who’s responsible… is gonna pay.

Chase: I should leave you to get settled in. It must feel good to be home.

Brook Lynn: Well, the beach house felt like home, too.

Chase: Same. I’m really gonna miss it. Especially…

Brook Lynn: Especially?

Chase: Um…especially the…sound of the water, falling asleep.

Brook Lynn: Right.

Chase: What will you miss?

Brook Lynn: I will tell you what I won’t miss. Sand. I hate it. It’s the worst. In my hair, in my clothes, in my notebook.

Chase: Well, you should – you should write a song about it. I’m sure you could tweak the words you just said and turn it into a really big hit. And when you do…I’ll be happy to sing it for you. I’ll see you around.

Brook Lynn: Hey, Chase. Smell you later.

Chase: [ Chuckles ]

Man: Curtis Ashford?

Curtis: That’s me.

Man: Sign here, please.

Curtis: Thank you. “To our growing friendship and shared good fortune.” “Selina Wu.”

Britt: As for your other problem.

Brad: What problem?

Britt: Your love life.

Brad: What love life?

Britt: [ Chuckles ] I happen to have a membership to a super-exclusive matchmaking service. All you have to do is fill out the questionnaire, and your cold nights may be a thing of the past.

Brad: Are you re-gifting me your mother’s Christmas present to you? Hey, I certainly won’t look a re-gift horse in the mouth. And with the right match, I might not need that job after all.

Britt: Dream big.

Brad: [ Chuckles ] Until then… we have each other, and for that, I am so, so grateful. Champagne for my real friends, real pain for my sham friends.

[ Glasses clink]

[ Both chuckle ]

Britt: That’s silly. [ Laughs ] That’s funny.

[ Both laugh ]

Spencer: Of course, it has, um, occurred to me that Esme could have done this.

Cameron: Great. Can you ask her about it?

Spencer: Then I realized that we were gone, so she couldn’t have done it.

Cameron: Right, ’cause she couldn’t figure out how to set up a timer or a motion sensor or simply leave the camera running. Spencer, she didn’t have to be there. I get you’re trying to save what you have with Esme, but don’t lose the people you care about in the process.

Esme: I know it would mean the world to you to have Spence at your vow-renewal ceremony.

Nikolas: It would mean the world. Ava wants him there, too.

Esme: I’m sure.

Nikolas: And we both want you there, of course.

Esme: I’ll make sure Spence is there, and I’ll do everything I can to help you restore your relationship with your son. I mean, Spence may be angry, but he still loves you, and I know he misses the closeness you used to have.

Nikolas: Thank you, Esme.

Esme: No. Thank you, Mr. Cassadine. For accepting me and for having my back with Carly before. And, um, for this talk.

Nikolas: Call me Nickolas.

Josslyn: Crime or no crime, my life is destroyed.

Carly: Oh, baby. I know it feels that way, but that’s not the truth.

Josslyn: Okay. Well, I need to go wash up. Excuse me.

Carly: [ Sighs ] God. Diane, it’s Carly. I need to see you as soon as possible. It’s about Josslyn.

Anna (to Felicia): I might have found something.

Robert (to Dante): This is insanely convoluted.

Elizabeth (to Drew): All signs are starting to point to Jake.

Laura: So Victor took the bait.

Victor (to his henchman): There’s only one way to find out.

Michael (to Willow): That right there is a problem!

Ava (to Nina): You do want Sonny, don’t you?

Sonny: We all get what we want.
