If the only way to find my biological parents is by talking to harmony’s old commune friends, I can save you the time and trouble, because that’s going to be a dead end. All right. Open your mouth. The night that we met… when sonny ordered you to attack that paparazzi and I recorded the whole thing and I threatened to take it to the cops, sonny took off. He just left you there. Then he decides, with zero evidence, that you are the one going around and attacking people with a hook. He ties you up, he leaves you in a freezer, and he has some freak threaten to torture you with knives. Then he orders you to do something — god knows what — and you get shot in the process, and you can’t even call him for help. There is no way that sonny is paying you enough to go through all of that. I’d accuse you of being blindly, stupidly loyal… but, dex, I know that you’re not stupid. So, tell me.

[ Thermometer beeps ]

[ Scoffs softly ] What is it? Why have you been risking so much for sonny? You want me to stay away from your sister? Look, I hate lying to josslyn, but, yeah, she can’t know that you work for me. All I can tell you is… …I have my reasons.

[ Scoffs softly ] Your temperature is 104. If my mom is not back soon with the antibiotics, we have to take you to the hospital. Jeff: I’m sorry you feel that way, lizzie. My name is elizabeth, and I’m only stating true facts. God, you wreak havoc on everybody’s lives. You cheated on mom more than once — hayden is living proof. You’re the reason reiko betrayed finn. The reason I argued with her at the top of those stairs. If you hadn’t met her, who knows? She’d probably still be alive. And she and finn might still be married. [ Cellphone chimes ]

In my experience, people who live in communes frequently change their names. They consider themselves to be free spirits who have a firm distrust of outsiders. Okay. Yeah, no, I get that. I do. I mean, obviously the people that used to live in that community have a fundamental distrust for law enforcement and for government in general. But, I mean, I’m not a cop. I’m not — I don’t work for the government. I’ll show up with a reporter from aurora, right? And then we can frame the questions as part of a human-interest story. And then we use the company’s publications to get the story out there. Somebody gave birth to you, and odds are that they had help, right? So somebody’s got to know something. You almost make me feel like this can actually happen. Mm. Almost. Every riddle has an answer. It’s about being thorough and reaching as many people as you can. Hopefully… as soon as possible. There was this guy in my unit — he loved the dawgs. He talked about them nonstop, had the whole roster memorized. It was just infectious, you know? He get so excited every game day, I couldn’t help but cheer them on, too. You guys stay in touch? Uh, no. No, he, uh, he died. Kia. “Killed in action”? Yeah. I’m sorry. Yeah, uh, me, too. Um… anyway, I, uh, I still root for the bulldogs. He’s not around to cheer them on anymore, so I do it for him. I want to go to a game in person someday. He always said the game-days were just I-incredible — the stadium is packed, and when the team runs out, they play “baba o’riley.” That is the weirdest name for a song. Okay. Um, you need to hydrate. All right, dex. I need you just sit up and drink this for me, okay?

[ Groans ] Or you’re gonna need my help. All right. Come here. Sit up.

[ Knock on door ]

I don’t expect you to forgive us. I don’t expect you to even understand what we did, though I’d be incredibly grateful if you did. But please believe me.

[ Sighs ] Every choice we made, as flawed and as misguided as they were, those choices were based on unconditional love for you. You’re a parent now, elizabeth. You love each of your sons in a unique way. Just as I loved you and sarah with all my heart. But honestly… the child I felt I had the most kinship with was you. Me? Why? Because I’m screwed up like you? Because you go your own way. You’re not afraid to take chances. The way I see it…

He’s had a really high fever for over a day now. I mean, how long do you think until it breaks? They’re strong antibiotics. My guess is the fever will break in the morning.

[ Sighs ] I hope you’re right.

[ Sighs ] You seem like you want to find your biological parents really quickly. Of course. I-I-I hope it’s sooner than later. Yeah, no. And I — I get that, but just — just to be clear, I mean, these things take time. Yeah. No, I’m just — I’m a little anxious to finally know the truth. Harmony wasn ‘t perfect by anystretch of the imagination… mm. …But still, there was some comfort in knowing that she was my mom. And now that I know she wasn’t, I just feel a bit unmoored. Hey. I thought olivia wanted leo to go back to the main house for dinner. Well, I called her and told her that he would be delayed. So, uh, leo found a cellphone, but it’s dead. So we have to charge it and find out who it belongs to. And leo wanted to stick around till the mystery was solved. So, leo, if you were a charger, where would you be? Hmm. Well, I would be made of aluminum and silicone, so… maybe upstairs.

[ Chuckles ]

[ Chuckles ] Yeah, sorry. I seem overzealous. I just — I went back and forth deciding if I wanted to find my biological family. And now that I’ve made up my mind, I — stop right there, willow. I know exactly why you’re in such a hurry. The only thing between carly and me is donna. I know. I know. Right. But… wouldn’t it be awkward if she started dating someone that you know? All right, do me a favor — order for me? I want a big steak, okay?

You know the call that you gotearlier that took you away? Yeah. That’s all taken care of? Yeah, all sorted out. The quartermaines embraced me as one of their own. I’m just hoping it’s gonna be the same case when you find your relatives. Yeah, that would — that would be ideal. But I also know that my biological relatives may not be as welcoming as the quartermaines. But…that’s okay.

[ Sighs ] Oh. I ran into esme prince on pier 55. She didn’t attack you, did she? No. No, but I went to call 911, and she tried to grab my phone, and I fell and hit my head. They just checked me in for observation — mild concussion, but, really, I think they were just being overly cautious. Better safe than sorry. Yeah. Yeah. I’m the last person to defend esme, because I think she’s a maniac. But honestly, I don’t think she meant for me to fall. I’m really glad you weren’t hurt. I wish reiko hadn’t been. Me, too.

[ Sighs ] I hate that my dad showed up without warning. The last thing I wanted was for him to cause you more pain. It’s okay. I mean, it wouldn’t have been my first choice to…talk to your dad today, but in a strange way, it may have helped.

[ Cellphone ringing ] Did it feel good to punch him in the face? Maybe. I’m mean, I don’t feel good about it now, but… so, uh… what about my, um… …my role in what happened with reiko? [ Scoffs ] Spencer’s in jail. She has no support system here. She has to be getting desperate. I mean, it’s only a matter of time, right? Things will go back to normal. This is not a time for you to let your guard down. We both know how dangerous esme is. And she’s not the only threat to your “normal.” Yeah, so, scout’s friend on her swim team — this renee — she comes back from vacation with her family from the caribbean, and she magically goes from brunette to blonde, right? So now, naturally… willow: Thank you. …Scout wants to go blonde, and I have no idea how to do it, so I ask renee’s mom. I’m like, you know, “what do we do? How do you do that?” And she’s like, “oh, no, no, no. It’s natural.” It’s just from being on the beach and out in the sun. [ Cellphone ringing ] In the short amount of time we’ve been together, we’ve had a pretty spotty track record, and most of that has been on me. I mean, I-I kept you at arm’s length. I-I attacked your brother. I didn’t get help when I needed. I — and then I lied to you. And now you know that reiko fell when she was having an argument with me, which is how she caught the disease that killed her.

[ Voice breaking ] It’s just — it’s — it’s just too much for one relationship to withstand. It’s — it’s too much for you to possibly forget.

[ Breathes deeply ] Neither one of us will ever forget what we’ve been through. But that doesn’t mean we still don’t have anything to talk about.

[ Cellphone ringing ] I think it’s time that maybe we put this all down on the — the table.

[ Ringing continues ] I’m sorry. I-I have to answer this.

[ Sighs ] I’m right in the middle of something. Why do you keep calling me?

I want you to know that I will use every resource I have to get you some answers. I know that you will do everything that you can, but I also understand that this is a secret decades in the making, and I will not blame you if you hit a blank wall. I’m pretty confident I’m gonna get some results, okay? Because someone out there knows the truth about who you really are. Do you know anything about dex? I know that he was in the military. And when you’re going up against a liar like esme… you don’t think I could have pulled it off? I was not going to risk esme finding out.

[ Scoffs ] Deceiving you was the best thing for you, trina. You sound just like curtis. He also does what he thinks is best for me, but it’s just like — I have a lot to apologize for, trina, but protecting you — I’m not going to apologize for that. Spencer… I don’t fault your motives. [ Knock on door ] Come in. Mr. Corinthos. You just saved me a trip. Last time I talked to spencer, I told him I didn’t want to be friends. I’m not sure I can take that back. Not sure if I want to. You know, that little mea culpa of yours could have sent you to prison for life if valentin hadn’t gotten it away from ava. Now, fortunately, your ridiculous romantic gesture won’t be coming back to haunt us. And neither will esme prince. May she rest in peace. Okay, guys. You can take him.

I’m so grateful to you, nina, for all the trouble you’ve gone to. I-it’s no trouble at all. You thought of everything, right? Like brando’s favorite drink. Beer. Root beer.

[ Chuckles ] But most importantly, he had a big heart. To brando. To never be forgotten.

[ Glasses and bottles clink ] Why aren’t you at the hospital? Then I couldn’t be here to let you in. Huh. You know what I mean. Look at yourself. You’re covered in bruises from what sonny did to you. Yeah, I’m a little sore. A little? Okay. I-I hurt everywhere. Especially my wrists. It could have been a lot worse if you hadn’t shown up. Never really got the chance to thank you for rescuing me, did I? Well, it looks like the divorce papers are all ready to go. There’s a receipt inside the envelope that proves I submitted them to the court. I want you to keep that. I don’t need a receipt. I take you at your word that they’ll be filed. Now we just need a court to sign off… and, um, we’ll officially be divorced. I’d feel better if you held onto the receipt. It’s something you can show portia since I botched things the first time around. Right. Jordan, this is what doesn’t make sense to me. You’re one of the most organized people I’ve ever known, so it just doesn’t add up that you would misplace the original papers. What can I say? Nobody’s perfect. I think I proved that during our marriage, right? Jordan, it takes two people to make a marriage and two people to mess it up. Now, let’s be honest — I think we both know that our marriage was over long before we signed those papers. Maybe for you. But not for me. Physically, you are recovering just fine. But as your doctor, it’s my job to treat the whole patient. And, ava, I want you to take care of yourself. To be honest, I-I’m — I’m a little bit worried about your well-being. Trina told me that you closed your gallery, and I know that that was far more than just a business to you. Well, actually, that — that’s your fiancé’s fault, really.

[ Chuckles ]

[ Chuckles ] How is that exactly? Uh, curtis came to see me, and he told me that he was worried about trina working in the gallery with some serial slasher roaming around. And — and he was right. As much as I hated that I won’t be working with trina for now, I… I have to do whatever I can to protect her from any future repeat attack, right? Yeah, and I think you did the right thing. I think you did the right thing for trina and for you. But I need you to know that working at your gallery was far more than just a job to trina. And I never got to thank you for arranging the fellowship at the chuck for her. Well, that — that was curtis’ idea, actually. I just made a couple of phone calls and gave trina a sterling recommendation, which she earned. Yeah, I just feel badly that — that trina seems to resent curtis for setting that in motion. She said she already has one protective father looking out for her. Right. Okay, well, if there isn’t anything else, I really have spent more than my fair share of time at G.H. Lately. Okay. There is just — just one more thing. I-I just want you to make sure that you are focusing on keeping yourself out of harm’s way, okay? A-and since the gallery is off limits, at least you know you’re gonna be safe at wyndemere, right? Esme is lying in the bottom of the harbor, courtesy of your wife. And no one need be any the wiser. Despite your ridiculous attempt to take the blame for the murder in order to woo ava. So you just proceed with this divorce as planned… and no more confessions in the name of love. Are we clear on that? Nikolas: “I, nikolas cassadine… of sound mind and body do hereby acknowledge and confess that I, and I alone, am responsible for the disappearance of esme prince. I know this because I killed her.” The means? My own two hands. Victor: Nikolas. You always were a poor judge of women and a — a fool for their charms. So I want you to tell me the truth. What else does ava got on you? Esme: Bad for you, oz. But good for me.

[ Sighs ] This won’t get me through today. Wyndemere… here I come.

I am no longer living at wyndemere. I’m happy that nina has offered me a place to stay, stay with her. I’m grateful for that. And plus there’s the added benefit of knowing that sonny’s looking out for nina, so… which means that he’ll be looking out for you. Yeah, well, you know, as avery’s mother, sonny does want to keep me safe. Well, good. You know, I’m glad that you have someplace — someplace to go, but, um… but what? Ava, you know I have no love for nikolas or his son spencer. But I do know that you’re still in love with your husband, even after everything that’s happened. And I just hope, for your sake, that you really finally leave nikolas and never look back. I gotta say, I’m surprised to hear you say that. But I’m with portia now. I know. All I’m saying is, is I never made it a secret about how I felt. I was ready to fight for our marriage if you had been. I couldn’T. By that point, there was too much damage — too much damage for me to even try again. Too many secrets. Too many lies. I’m a former cop. I know that some of the deception comes with the job. But not all of it. No. Not all of it. And you’re a man who values honesty above everything else in relationships. According to the coroner, he was likely attacked by the same woman with a hook. They weren’t able to identify him, but I recognized him right away. Because he’d been a patient here not that long ago. [ Elevator bell dings ] Oz haggerty? Wai– ava. Ava? Don’t you think we should talk about this? No. I-I have to go. You just don’t get it. It’s not about what ava has on me or what I have on her.

[ Scoffs ] Well, tell that to the young lady ava pushed over the parapet. Ava swears that it was an accident. Well, fine. Say that I, uh — say I believe here. Do you really think the police would? Or a jury? Ava had just discovered you had slept with your son’s girlfriend. She was out for revenge on esme. And to frame you for the crime… would be an act of love. Ava didn’t twist my arm. And she was brilliant in defending trina the best way she possibly could. And now oz haggerty? It was his testimony saying that he sold the black-market phone to esme prince and not trina that proved trina’s innocence. Yes, at first glance, your theory makes sense that there’s a pattern, but what about brando corbin? Is there a connection to trina that I’m not aware about? He’s the only exception. Trina barely knew brando. Unless… unless what? Unless brando wasn’t the attacker’s real target. Josslyn jacks had just been in that same alley outside charlie’S. Josslyn is connected to trina. Josslyn: Well, just so you know, next time sonny turns against you, do not wait for me to come rescue you. There might not be a next time. Yes. There will be. Sonny will betray you, just like he’s betrayed everybody else. And I just really hope you can see the man he really is before it’s too late for you.

And if you hadn’t been able to call the police first, who knows what esme would have done? But she didn’T. I mean, we should just be thankful I only ended up with a bump on my head and leave it at that. Yeah, I know, but who knows… who knows that it would have ended there? Y-yeah. I do– I don’t know. I… you see, I think esme’s hiding on spoon island. And now that I’ve been there… I’m even more convinced I’m on the right track. You remember how we first met? It was ages ago. Decades. But I can still see it… as if it was yesterday. I was hiking the cascade mountains. A regular nature girl on a journey to find a place for myself outside the rigid confines of middle class society. That’S… when I smelled smoke coming from a cabin in the middle of nowhere. And there you were… chopping wood with a hatchet. The blade gleamed in the moonlight. You always were… handy with a blade.

[ Sighs ] Such a shame to lose this hand. It was… so talented… …in so many ways. I said… “my name is hazel.” You said you were richard. We were both playing the same game. We’d found each other. Well, I’m here to pick up donna… and it was my understanding that you’re not allowed anywhere near my little sister. Well, I’m happy to tell you that that information is outdated. Really? Yes. Sonny and carly, they reached a new understanding, and I had the best day with donna. So much fun. She’s in the kitchen with pilar having an early supper. Okay. The family man is too busy obstructing justice or doing whatever it is he does to spend time with his youngest child. So he leaves her with the girlfriend. Lucky donna. She’s still too young to understand where she ranks on sonny’s list of priorities. Sonny is on his way home right now, and I know that he would love to see his daughter and kiss her before you take her back to carly. So… you wait a little while. I could take it… if you can. I didn’t go to josslyn for help. Okay, I never meant for her to be involved. But she was involved. What happened? I c– I can’T. I can’T. Okay, you know what? You can lie to me later. What? Let me see. No, I-I-I don’t lie to you. Okay. You can “refuse to answer me” later. Let me see your side. It’s just a crease. “It’s just a crease”?! No internal bleeding. No bullet to remove. I don’t know if josslyn saved my life, but she definitely saved my freedom. And people know I work for you, boss. If she had called an ambulance or — or called the cops, you would have been investigated at the very least. Dex, what’s your point? Just say it. Josslyn did me a favor, and I am grateful. But that’s as far as it goes. Good. Because I spent today cleaning up the mess you left behind when you were driving that transfer van to pentonville. I was concerned that somebody could have identified you as the driver of the van, so I made sure that nobody is going to identify you. I appreciate that, boss. And I promise you, I will learn from my mistakes. I believe that you mean that when you say it… …but like my old man used to say… …some mistakes are too big to make.

Sonny: You’re probably standing there thinking, “you know, I’ve done such a solid job. Why is sonny so hard on me?” Something like that. It’s because when I was about your age, I-I-I was in debt… …to a guy named joe scully, and I would have done anything to pay him back. Anything? Yeah, anything. Joe wanted me to do a job. I was young, inexperienced. I did the job. I left a trail that could have led straight back to me. Even worse, could have led straight from me to joe. Obviously, you’re still in the game. So what happened? What saved you? I had a guardian angel. He took it upon himself to clean up after me. That’s lucky. Yeah, well, luck is only gonna get you so far in life. In this business… …you have to have brains. You have to trust your instincts. I have both. Okay, think of this as a crossroads in your life. Y-you’re the one who’s gonna have to make that call. You got to figure out… what you’re gonna hold on to, what you’re gonna let go, what matters, what doesn’t matter. Oh, I can wait until donna is done eating, because we both know that pilar cooked that meal, you didn’T. But let’s be clear — the second that she’s done, we’re leaving, whether sonny’s back or not. Josslyn, why don’t we just go to our separate corners until the referee rings the bell for round two? Round two? What, like a fight? Why would I want to fight you, nina? I’m so grateful. Well, your idea of gratitude leaves a lot to be desired. No, really. You did what no one else ever could. You took sonny away from my mom, and you set her free. Now donna, I do feel a little bit sorry for, but in the end, I know she’s better off. I mean, she doesn’t have to grow up listening to her mom defend the indefensible like I did. See, I watched my mom turn herself inside out for sonny. But she doesn’t have to do that anymore. She can live her life the way she wants to, and she has never had a better time. So, really, nina, thank you. Out of all of sonny’s many girlfriends, you just may be my favorite. You make it sound like I’m the latest in a long line. You said it, not me. Spencer: What can I say? When your grandmother is the mayor and your great uncle is victor cassadine, you can pretty much get yourself out of anything. Rory: What, you’re saying that the mayor pulled strings to get you an early release? When you have family connections, the one golden rule is never advertise who did what. Though I will say that my uncle cyrus did look out for me while I was inside. Cyrus? As in cyrus renault? Happily that unfortunate family tie came to an end the second spencer walked out of the pentonville gates. Well, we will let you get back to your dinner. It was good seeing you. Spencer, spencer, that was — that was very graciously done, but you’re making one mistake. What’s that? You’re a cassadine. Cassadines never quite. So, what’d you find on spoon island? It’s more what I didn’t find when I went to wyndemere. You went to the house? Yeah, I sort of thought, you know, nik might cooperate, help me look for esme. But he kind of played the big shot and supposedly had some of the staff search the property. Even if they did look, they weren’t gonna find esme. Then you walked away empty-handed. Of course, nik said he was just looking out for your best interest, but I wasn’t buying it. Why not? Well, you know, his lips were moving. Remember how we used to bundle together in the cabin… on those cold winter nights… when the wolves howled outside the window? We’d howl right back at them because that’s what we were — a couple of timber wolves too wild for all those poor, pathetic sheep out there. You’re in there, aren’t you? You might have everybody else fooled… …but I know you… …inside and out. You’re not really paralyzed, are you? This is just your way of controlling the situation, getting everyone lulled into a false sense of security, and that’s when you’re gonna strike. I know that I’m getting to you, because after all… …I’m your hazel… …and I can affect you… in ways… that nobody else can. You left me… without so much as a goodbye. You broke my heart. I don’t think you’ve ever been hurt as badly. But that can be arranged.

You know, I get the sense that nik’s only willing to cooperate when he’s in charge. Sounds like him. Hm. Maybe. What do you mean? I mean… I have a feeling nikolas is hiding something.

[ Gasps ] It speaks! I knew my mountain man was in there… just waiting to break free. And you just might live to regret that. Or not. Ooh. Naughty boy. I know you wouldn’t hurt me. Since when did you ever mind a little pain?

You know, I actually began to question if this ever happened at all. You seemed too good to be true and then just disappeared without a trace. I actually wondered if I’d imagined the whole thing. [ Inhales deeply ] Come on. Sit down. We said we were gonna celebrate your first night of freedom from pentonville, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do. [ Clears throat ] Trina, may I join you? Spencer, what are you doing? I have a question for you. Can we start over? I still say your gratitude sounds a lot like resentment. I’m guessing that you talked to your mother about what happened between us today. My mom never mentions you. Then you don’t know. Y-your mother and I, we were at willow’s, and willow fainted. Willow fainted? Is she okay? Does michael know? Well, I would imagine by now he does. What happened? And… and how were you involved? [ Exhales sharply ] Only you would pick a fight with a pregnant woman. I did not pick a fight with willow. I did not do that. Okay? My point is, josslyn, that even for a split second, your mother and i were able to put our differences aside and help willow. And if we were able to do that, why can’t you and i do the same thing? My mom makes her own choices, and so do I. Even though I am grateful you took sonny off her hands, it does not mean that I like you. It did not take sonny off anyone’s hands. I fell in love with him. How romantic. Okay, the only part of that that I regret is keeping the truth from everyone. And you might not understand this… …but I kept the truth from myself. I came to care for someone when everything else was telling me it was wrong. Damn. What? Oh, this, it wasn’t supposed to happen.

When I came to, there was no sign of the second prisoner. Oh, god. I guess I’m just worried about you. You don’t need to be. There’s nothing to worry about. You know, I’m fine. Yeah? Yeah. Look, I know that rift with michael is kind of weighing on you. It’s been going on a long time. This thing with anna, brando getting murdered, ava and diane attacked, that’s a lot of stuff. [ Glass crunches ] That’s strange. Why would this…

The test results I was getting today weren’t about the pregnancy. They’re about my cancer. How long have you known? Maybe a week after I found out I was pregnant. Tj is the first one who suspected it. I am so sorry I kept this from you. It has been the hardest decision I have ever had to live with in my life. I’m so sorry, willow. I’m so sorry. What’s it to me? Honestly, I don’t know. I mean, mac rushed out of here looking upset. So he may not be my dad, but I-I-I still care. He got some unsettling news about one of our good friends. Really? I’m so sorry. Are they going to be okay or…? Well, I think that’s very kind of you to ask, but it’s clear that you were ambivalent at best at becoming a part of our family. So I can only imagine that now you might feel guilty since mac had his hopes up. From what it sounds like, probably not worthy of being mac’s son, so he’s probably better off without me. I don’t even remember a jeff webber. All I know is that my dad and reiko were having an affair. My dad had a history of cheating on my mom. My wife and I were happy. I know. I decided against it until we reached the second trimester. Willow, why? Tj, I was hoping I didn’t have to get into this personal matter. But willow is the mother of my grandchildren, and my son is involved, even though we’re not on good terms. Also, you know, molly. I was hoping that the tj I knew would not jeopardize all this. Sonny, can we just — can we stop, please? This is a huge misunderstanding. Nina confronted both me and willow separately about this, and we both made it extremely clear that we are not having an affair. But she does not want to believe that. Now she’s dragged you into it. And I don’t — you don’t what? Say it. Say it, tj. Sonny, you’ve always been there for me. Right. And I respect you. Right. But nina’s hell-bent on causing trouble for michael and willow, and she does not care how much trouble that’s going to cause for you, too. The security guard is on his way to gh. Oh, good. He’s in good condition. No injuries except for the bump on his head. Okay. And what’d he say? Well, he was blacked out until the paramedics arrived. Once they got him conscious, I asked him a few questions, but his memory was still pretty foggy. Did he know how the crash happened? Transport was supposed to stop at pentonville first, d’archam second. Driver drove right past the exit for pentonville. So the driver was the plant. That’s what the guard thought. Tried to stop the driver. That’s when the van spun out of control. So this whole thing was organized to spring one of the prisoners. And I can only imagine that anna is the one who was able to sort something like that out. Well, she certainly has enough contacts to call on for support to stay on the run. Ah, anna’s going to give us a real run for our money. What? Still nothing. We got to wait here for a minute. We can’t risk running into the police and getting pulled over. That’s a good strategy. Thank you. Not even an ounce of modesty anywhere. I’m good at this stuff. I — lucky me. You think dex is going to be all right? I think dex is going to be fine. Even if the guard realizes he was a plant, he won’t be able to id him. Besides, sonny will take care of dex. Thank you for taking care of me. Always. I like taking care of you. [ Breathes shakily ] I can’t explain it, but my life is out of control right now. How can I help? It’ll be okay. I promise.

[ Groans ] This is from our boathouse. Ah, you should have killed me when you had the chance, esme. You made a mistake. I did my own research in addition to what all the doctors here told me. If I were to start chemotherapy in the first trimester, that would put our baby at great risk. If I could wait to start chemo until the second trimester, that would give our baby the best chance of survival. And you– you’ve been living with this all by yourself for all these months. Willow, that must have been so hard on you. No. I wasn’t totally alone. The doctors here have been supportive, and tj has been a great friend. But the decision to delay chemotherapy has come with a cost. What do you mean? Dr. Randolph just told me that… the test results confirmed my leukemia is now stage iv. Stage iv. Oh, my god, willow. Okay. Okay, what’s next? I start chemo right away. But because of the advanced stage, terry also wants to look into a bone marrow transplant. You know what’s really good for a stiff neck? If you’re about to offer me a massage, no, thanks. I was going to say muscle relaxers. And I happen to know a great doctor here. This is to say thanks. For what? Standing by me through all my “maury” drama. It’s just a latte. It’s not poison. Don’t do that. Stop trying to avoid what’s really going on here. I am so sorry that I waited so long to tell you. But I swear to you, michael, even if you hadn’t walked in when you did, I was going to tell you today. I believe you. I just — do you want to know why I didn’t tell you before? Look, willow, we’re, uh — we’re a team. And we built a life together. With wiley. And if…I said or did anything that made you think that I wouldn’t support you or I wouldn’t be able to handle what you’re going through — no, no, no, no. No, it’s not that. When I heard the diagnosis and what chemo would mean for our unborn child, and the doctors here, all of them — britt, terry, tj — they all wanted me to start chemo immediately. I really struggled with it. Deep in my heart, I knew I-I… I couldn’t face losing another baby. Not after jonah. And I-I knew that wasn’t fair to wiley, that the worst case would be that the leukemia progressed and I didn’t recover, but I convinced myself that it wouldn’t do much harm to delay treatment by a few weeks.

[ Sighs ] I felt like it was the best choice for me, for our entire family. Okay. I just want to make one thing very clear. This was always your choice. And I support that today, and I — and I would have supported that then. I just wanted us to enjoy our time together with wiley before things got too hard. Spare us all some heartache. Especially if… I don’t have much time left. Which I might not. I appreciate you, you know, warning me about nina, but I know her really well, and I believe her heart is in the right place. Okay, but what — what possible good can come from telling michael that willow and i are having an affair? Trust me, that is the absolute last thing she needs right now. I saw you two together. It seemed like something was going on. I even said something to michael. Sonny, you have known me practically my entire life. Is that what you think about me? That I’m a cheater? I’m not — I’m not hearing you deny it. Sonny, I promise you that willow and i are not romantically involved. I give you my word — that is not happening. Something is happening, tj. I know it. We do not believe that they are armed, but heather webber should be considered dangerous. The other woman, anna devane, she is a fugitive, but she is not a threat. Thank you. All right. I’ve notified the highway patrol, although they don’t have much to go on because the guard didn’t give them much of a description of the driver. We don’t know if anna and heather are on foot or in a vehicle. I think chances of us getting a lead tonight are slim. Excuse me, mac. What do you think’s going on here? I think you’re hiding behind sugary coffee so you don’t have to deal with your feelings about mac not being your father. Well, you can’t blame me for wondering what it would be like to be a part of a close-knit family. For a few seconds there, I thought maybe I wouldn’t be alone in this world. Yeah, I — I get that. Even though my mother drives me crazy, I don’t know what I would do without her. Well, taub may have been a son of a bitch, but he’s my dad, and that is that. I’ve been alone pretty much my whole life. Looking out for just me has served me well so far. Who knows? Maybe you dodged a bullet. Family is a curse. From now on, we’re a team, okay? Okay, wait a minute. Heather webber is with — with anna? I guess there was a problem with the vehicle that was supposed to take heather to d’archam, so they threw her in with anna, and the plan was to drop anna at pentonville and then take heather to d’archam. But they didn’t make it that far. There was an accident, and the van crashed. And I’m here on the scene right now. What caused the accident? I don’t know, sonny. There was some sort of struggle. But there was only a guard here when we got here. He was the only one with the vehicle. He was injured and taken to gh. Any idea what happened? No. Not yet, but I’m going to figure it out. Do not let anybody off of the island. That hook-wielding psychopath was in the house. And I will be damned if I let her get away.
