Paulina thanked Harris for his role in tackling the drug ring. He let her know that he brought someone in for questioning. She empathized with the problem. Paulina told him that she saw Holly in the hospital. He let her know that he had an idea on how to fix the problem. Harris said he would share it once it panned out. Everett met with Chad at the paper. They talked about their meeting with the mayor. Everett told Chad that Stephanie was trying to target younger readers. Chad told him that he saw him kissing Stephanie on New Year’s Eve. He assured him that it wasn’t serious. They got carried away. Chad and Everett left to see Paulina. They showed up at Paulina’s office to talk about the MLK celebration in Salem. She looked forward to the celebration. Chad asked her about the drug crisis. She started talking about it and began coughing. Everett wanted to postpone the meeting,but she insisted they keep going. Chad and Everett took care of her. After they left, Paulina called to find out about her results. The doctor’s assistant informed her that she had to be present. Harris met with Roman and Kate at the Town Square. He wondered if he could talk to her alone. Roman wanted him to talk to Kate in front of him. Harris wanted to talk about Lucas. Kate thought something happened to him. Harris assured her that he was okay. He got a tip that the dealer is at Statesville. She didn’t understand why Lucas would be involved in drugs. Harris told her that Lucas was a model citizen. He didn’t have anything to do with it. Harris thought Lucas could help him bring down the person involved in the drug trafficking. They continued to talk about Lucas’ involvement in his plan.

After Harris left, Kate talked to Roman about his plan. Roman was confident that Lucas could handle it. Kate was worried that if something went wrong, Lucas could die. Roman didn’t think Lucas would get caught. He felt like Lucas would be home with his kids and grandchildren soon. Kate called Harris to let him know that she would take him to Statesville to see Lucas. Theresa and Alex let Rafe know that Tate was attacked even though he was in isolation. Rafe didn’t know it happened. He thought one of the guards made a mistake. Brady blamed EJ for what happened. He thought it was a mistake to charge Tate as an adult. Rafe wanted to go to the prison. Theresa wanted Alex to call Justin, but he showed up on his own. He had news and wanted to talk in the interrogation room. Justin told them that Tate’s bail was denied. He said that Tate’s expulsion and guilty plea didn’t help his case. Alex interrupted him and said EJ wasn’t to blame for what happened to Tate. He said Justin was responsible. Rafe returned and told everyone that Tate was place in a newer cell with cameras. He assured them that Tate wouldn’t be in danger anymore. After Rafe left, Alex made snide comments about Justin. Justin knew what he was trying to say. Alex didn’t want Justin to represent Tate from the beginning. Justin defended his actions to him. Alex didn’t think he worked hard enough. Justin wanted to file a motion to get removed from the case. Alex thought it was a good idea. Brady wanted Justin to help, but he refused to get berated by his son. Justin walked out of the interrogation room. Brady wondered what Alex was thinking. Alex said he would get his lawyer to take over the case.

Tate panicked when he tried to find Holly. He found her on the ground. She was having a seizure when he saw her. He took her pills when the police showed up. Tate put the pills in his pocket while they took care of Holly. Brady interrupted Alex and Theresa while they were making out because he couldn’t find Tate. He searched for Tate. Tate texted Brady because he needed help at the docks. Brady rushed to get to him. Nicole and EJ rang in the new year by making love. She felt it was what she needed to fell better. Nicole thought talking to Marlena about her feelings helped her. She was grateful for what she had in life. EJ and Holly were enough for her. He believed it would be a good year. Stefan thanked everyone for being at the Bistro. He started a toast to an engaged couple when he heard police sirens. Ava approached him to let him know that Holly OD’d on the loading dock. Theresa panicked because she didn’t know where Tate was. People crowded around the docks while the paramedics helped Holly. Brady arrived at the docks, so Tate filled him in about what happened to Holly. He showed Brady the bag Holly had with her. An officer told Tate that he would take the bag from him. Rafe and Harris arrived and wanted to question Tate. He told them it belonged to Holly. Rafe was shocked and called Nicole. Paulina told Abe about her condition. She assured him that she could beat it. He believed she could do it. Harris questioned Ava about what happened. Stefan got involved when he started grilling her. Harris started questioning him too. They denied seeing drugs getting sold in Salem. Harris walked away from them.

Tate and Brady rushed to the hospital to check on Holly. They found out she was being treated in the trauma room. Tate was afraid that he was in trouble. Nicole arrived at the hospital and wanted to see Holly. Tripp tried to help Holly when Nicole went in the trauma room. The nurse tried to make her leave. After he worked on her, Tripp told Nicole that Holly was stable but she was in a coma. She needed to be on a ventilator. Alex and Theresa arrived at the hospital. She hugged Tate. Tate lashed at her when she asked him if he was okay. Brady consoled him. Alex asked Theresa if Tate was checked out. She wondered if he thought Tate was tested. Theresa was shocked that he thought Tate was using drugs. Alex wondered how she didn’t think he was involved. Theresa assured him that Tate didn’t do drugs. Alex wasn’t sure about that. She wasn’t thrilled with what he said and wanted him to go home. After Alex left, Theresa asked Tate if he was using drugs. Rafe showed up to question Tate. He advised Tate about getting a lawyer. Brady didn’t think Tate needed a lawyer because he’s innocent. Tate wanted to talk to Rafe alone. Tripp pulled Rafe aside. He let him know that it wasn’t looking good for Holly. Stefan assured Ava that what happened to Holly wasn’t their fault. She wasn’t convinced it wasn’t there fault. Stefan didn’t like it, but Clyde had them over a barrel. Tripp told Rafe that Holly didn’t have much brain activity. He confirmed that she was in a coma because of the drugs. Rafe wanted to question Tate again. He explained what happened even telling him that she had the pills in her had. EJ arrived and said that Tate was wrong. Holly didn’t do drugs.

Nicole was nervous about her first therapy session with Marlena since she is Eric’s mother. Marlena reminded her of doctor-patient confidentiality. She asked Nicole about her feelings regarding losing the baby. Nicole said the hardest thing about losing the baby was the urge she felt. She said she felt the urge to nurse the baby. Nicole wondered if the urge to love him would ever go away. She admitted that she considered having an abortion when she found out she was pregnant. When she found out Eric was the potential father she decided not to do that to him. Nicole admitted that she loved EJ, but she still loved Eric. In her heart, she wanted the baby to be Eric’s. If the baby was Eric’s she hoped they would get back together. She said she and EJ have grown closer after losing the baby. He treated her with kindness after she kidnapped Jude. She decided to focus on Holly and give her a stable life. Marlena hoped the session went well for Nicole. Nicole said it did and wanted to see her again. She was optimistic about her recovery. Chanel and Paulina met with Kayla. Paulina said she wanted to get back to normal. She wanted answers about her condition. Kayla said she understood her situation. She said she needed an accurate diagnosis before she prescribed her medication. Kayla said the test results indicated Paulina’s body wasn’t allowing her thyroid gland to work the way it should. She said this condition happenes to women over 50.

Paulina asked why she needed a biopsy if the condition was common. Kayla said even though the condition was common, it could still be thyroid cancer. She said she wanted to rule it out. Paulina was apprehensive about doing the test, but Chanel said they should do it so they would understand what was going on. She agreed to take the test. Kayla scheduled the biopsy. Johnny showed up at the hospital. He found out about Paulina’s biopsy. She asked him about his cancer. He told her about his experience having a prosthetic eye as a child. Johnny said it was a difficult experience especially for his parents since he was too young to understand what was going on. Paulina was confident she didn’t have cancer. She said she would be around for a long time. Johnny assured Chanel that everything would be okay. When they met with Kayla again, she said the report showed Paulina showed similarities to cancer cells. While Eric, Sloan, and Jude were spending time together at the park, Leo showed up. When Leo talked about his new place, Eric told him to leave them alone. Leo said Sloan was his lawyer so he had a right to talk to her. Eric left so they could have privacy. Sloan confronted Leo about his spending habits. Leo said he controlled her spending habits until she gave the baby back to its real parents. Sloan said she and Eric were the real parents. Leo said she wasn’t the real parent. He said he was going to go back to the paper for a steady income. Leo left to go shopping. When Eric came back, he told Sloan her credit card declined. She said she missed a payment. Eric said they had a child now so he needed to make a career change. Konstantin was kidnapped while in the park. The kidnappers took him to an unknown location. His abductors turned out to be John and Steve. Steve reminded him that he was supposed to leave town and stop seeing Maggie. Konstantin explained that he tried to leave, but he had an accident with his foot which made it difficult to leave. He wanted to know why Steve was harassing him. Steve said it was simple. He wanted Konstantin to leave Salem. Konstantin said he wasn’t leaving. Steve said they had connections with the ISA and would make it happen. John and Steve took him back to the park and warned him that he had a week to leave or else. Konstantin said he saw John’s eyes before. Steve and John told Konstantin that they would have to take serious action if he didn’t stay away from Maggie.

Harris ran into Stefan and Ava while they were waiting for a shipment. They said their reservations weren’t for an hour. Harris told them he was investigating suspicious activities. He told Ava he didn’t appreciate being lied to. Harris wanted to talk to her, but she refused to talk to him. He thought she lied to him about their break up. Harris accused her of being in a relationship with Stefan. She said she wasn’t in love with Stefan, but they were dating. Ava said Stefan reminded her of Jake. When Ava got a reminder about a dinner date with Tripp, she apologized for lying to him. Ava said he was a great guy and would always remember him. Harris warned Stefan not to mess with Ava. Stefan reminded him about Gabi being in prison. Holly went to see Tate so she could apologize for using him to get closer to Johnny. She said she regretted treating him the way she did. Holly said she got drunk earlier and called Johnny while he was with Chanel. She realized she and Johnny weren’t meant to be together. Tate said he threw her gift out but got it out of the garbage. She loved the gift and wanted to go out. He agreed to go out with her. While Rafe and Jada were in bed, they talked about Gabi. He promised to find Li’s killer. Jada reminded him that it was Christmas. She said he needed to be in a good place when he saw Gabi. They decided to play a trivia Christmas game. After the game, Rafe said he hoped Gabi would be home for Christmas.

Ava had a dream that Harris arrested her. He showed up to give her a Christmas gift he bought for her before they broke up. She appreciated the necklace, but Harris shouldn’t have wasted money. He put the necklace on her. She told him they couldn’t do this. He didn’t understand why she pushed him away. She lied and blamed it on his wandering eye. He let her know he only wanted to be with her. She said he was busy with work and asked about the drug ring. He said he wouldn’t stop until the person responsible paid for what they did. She gave him back the necklace, but he told her to keep it. He said he wasn’t giving up without a fight. At the hospital, Chanel tried to stop Paulina from leaving. Kayla came into the room. Paulina told Kayla about her symptoms. Chanel said Paulina had a lump on her neck. Paulina asked if it was cancer. Kayla told her she had a thyroid nodule. She told Paulina the vast majority of nodules were benign. Paulina was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. The treatment required a daily thyroid hormone pill. Kayla scheduled blood work and gave Paulina a referral for a biopsy. Chanel thanked Kayla for her help. Kayla asked her to read The Christmas Story, but Paulina offered to read the story. Eric and Sloan spent time together. They thought it was the best Christmas ever. Things got worse when Eric wanted to put Jude in the outfit Nicole bought for him. Nicole and EJ returned home from their trip. She felt guilty about not spending time with Holly on her birthday. EJ reassured her that Holly understood. She left to check on Holly. Stefan showed up and told EJ he was at the prison infirmary with Gabi. He said Gabi’s injury was a message from Clyde. Clyde wanted him to run the drug business. Stefan told EJ what was going on with Ava and the drug business. He asked EJ for his help. EJ wanted to help bring Clyde down but didn’t want Nicole subjected to more than what she was going through. Since he’s the D.A. now, he couldn’t and wouldn’t help him. EJ warned him about getting in trouble. He said on the bright side, Stefan could end up in prison next to Gabi. EJ walked away from him. Holly checked her phone and was relieved she didn’t send Johnny the text declaring her love for him. She was horrified that she called him. Nicole came into her room and apologized for missing her birthday. She smelled alcohol on Holly. Nicole asked if Holly was drinking. Holly said she had scotch because she was bored and sad over the baby and Johnny. Holly didn’t want to talk about it. Nicole let her know she loved her and suggested they get some air. While they were out, Holly confessed to liking Johnny. She said she couldn’t remember if she confessed her feelings to Johnny. Nicole reminded her that Johnny saw her as a little sister. Holly said she knew, but she loved him. Nicole told her it was infatuation, not love. When Nicole spotted Eric and Jude, she pulled Holly away. Eric stopped them from leaving. He wished Holly a happy birthday and Merry Christmas. Nicole apologized to him. He said he knew she wouldn’t hurt the baby. She let him know about her therapy sessions with Marlena. He was happy to hear it. Nicole told him about Holly’s drinking. Although he didn’t accept her drinking, he suggested getting something to eat. Sloan didn’t like the smell of Leo. He said it was from being at a shelter, which was changing thanks to her. He said she was placing a roof over his head to keep his mouth shut about Jude. She told him she could barely afford her apartment and was supporting a child. Leo didn’t believe her and said she was setting him up at the Salem Inn if she wanted to keep her son.

Alex and Xander ran into each other at the pub. Xander made fun of Alex for Bella not doing well. He said Alex shouldn’t have put Theresa in charge. While defending Theresa, Alex wondered why he would take advice from the person his father hired to mow the lawn. Xander tried to make peace by suggesting they break bread at Maggie’s Christmas gathering. Alex said they would break more than bread if he kept starting with him. Konstantin was upset about Theresa thinking she could walk away without consequences. He decided to call her. When Theresa’s phone rang, she saw Konstantin’s name. She ignored the call and hugged Andrew. Andrew told her Shane gave him Victor’s case. He said he saw Theresa’s face in one of the enhanced pictures. Theresa lied about Konstantin wanting to impress Maggie. She said he came up with the save the baby idea. Theresa said she wanted to help because Maggie was lonely. Andrew believed her because it sounded like something she would do. He said it made her an accomplice to kidnapping. Konstantin showed up and overheard Maggie talking to Sarah about Victor. Maggie told Sarah how sad she was. Sarah asked if Konstantin moving out made her feel lonely. Maggie said he had nothing to do with it. It was time for him to go because he put her family at risk. Sarah said she didn’t want her unhappy.

Jada complained to Rafe about not solving the Victoria kidnapping before Christmas. Rafe reminded her that Victoria was at home. He wanted her to let him know if she was moving in with him. Jada told him about Stephanie breaking up with Chad. It reminded Jada of her marriage breaking up. She said she moved too fast with Bobby. Jada didn’t know Bobby as well as she thought she did. They started to resent each other. They haven’t seen or heard from each other since then. She said running into Eric was another reminder that she moved too fast. When Sarah and Maggie finished talking, Maggie ran into Alex. Konstantin continued to listen to her conversation. Maggie told Alex how upset she was that Bella outweighed the ad revenues. Alex said it was a one time start up cost. She ripped into him for putting money in a dying commodity and for putting Theresa in charge. Theresa apologized to Andrew and wanted to know what he was going to do. He said he would tell John and Steve he couldn’t enhance the kidnapper’s face. She felt relieved. He told her what she was going to do. Jada told Rafe she wanted to take things slowly and do the right thing. He thought he could have avoided some of his pain if he did the same thing. Rafe wanted her to set the pace for them. He said he loved her and wanted her to let him know when she was ready. Alex told Maggie it would be better if he and Theresa didn’t show for Christmas given the way Maggie felt about him. Maggie tried to convince him to come. She said Justin missed him. Alex didn’t want anyone to have a bad time so he declined. Andrew warned Theresa to do the right thing and stay away from Konstantin. He told her he wasn’t covering up for her anymore.

Sarah talked to Marlena about Xander. She told Marlena that she was afraid of making a mistake with Xander. Although she and Xander make great co-parents, she’s concerned about her daughter. She didn’t want to make the same mistake again. Marlena suggested she stay in the moment and enjoy watching Victoria grow up. John and Xander ran into each other at the hospital. Xander asked John for advice since he and Marlena had a successful marriage. John told him he wasn’t a good person, but he believed people had the ability to change. He encouraged Xander to change for his daughter. When Sarah showed up, Xander suggested he walk her and Victoria home. She agreed to do it. Johnny and Holly spent time together. While they were talking, Tate sent her a text asking if they were going out. She let him know she had other plans. Holly asked Johnny if he wanted to order out. He said he had plans with Chanel. After he told her his plans, she suggested he and Chanel go out another night. He didn’t agree with her and told her to go out with Tate. She said boys like Tate had one thing in mind so she wanted a mature man. When Johnny left to take a shower, she texted Tate and told him her plans changed and they should have dinner together.

Chanel asked Paulina about her opinion on her dress. Paulina said she was happy for her but hoped she wasn’t moving too fast with Johnny. Chanel said Johnny planned a surprise for her. She asked Paulina if Abe got his memory back. Paulina said he didn’t but she invited him over for Christmas. Chanel said she would invite Johnny over too. She said Eli, Lani, and the twins were coming too. Paulina said she had bad news. She said she talked to Eli. He said Lani’s release was delayed because of paperwork. Chanel decided to call Johnny and tell him they were ordering out instead of going out. She didn’t want to leave Paulina alone. EJ told Nicole he was happy to see her feeling better after giving Eric and Sloan a gift. She said she felt like she was coning out of her darkness and needed to be grateful for Holly. She said she wished Holly would hang around kids her own age. EJ said Johnny told him something was going on between Holly and Tate. When they went home, Johnny told them they got a package. The package came from the funeral home. Nicole wanted to open it but EJ didn’t think it was a good idea. Despite his objections, she opened the package. They found their baby’s ashes. She said whenever she feels better something makes her feel worse. He suggested they lay their son to rest. It might give them closure. He wanted to arrange the funeral service and have their son in the DiMera mausoleum. She said she wanted it to be just the two of them and wanted to spread his ashes. Holly and Tate were about to go out when she spotted Johnny and Chanel going to the Bistro. Holly suggested they go to the Bistro. Chanel was surprised to see Holly and Tate at the Bistro. She told Johnny she thought she was wrong about Holly being interested in him but now she wasn’t sure. Johnny suggested they forget about Holly and Tate and have a good time. Tate realized why Holly wanted to go to the Bistro. He accused her of using him. She said she didn’t know Johnny was going to be there. Tate said he was done playing games. He said Johnny would never see her the way she saw him. Tate walked out leaving Holly alone. She saw Johnny and Chanel kissing.

Eric questioned Sloan about the lawyer saying the adoption didn’t go through. Leo tried to convince Nicole that her baby was alive. Lucas confronted Dimitri for kidnapping Kate. Melinda and Paulina got in an argument. Paulina reminded Melinda that she didn’t have a job. Melinda said she had a job as an adoption attorney. She said she found a baby for Sloan and Eric to adopt. Paulina said she was happy for Eric but felt sorry for the baby for having Sloan as a mother. While Nicole and Leo were talking, she was upset. EJ showed up while they were talking. Leo said he was trying to tell them something but they told him to leave. EJ tried to comfort Nicole but she wanted to take a walk. Leo snuck back in the mansion through a secret entrance. EJ was upset when he saw Leo. He threatened to call the police on Leo. Leo tried to stop him by telling him his baby was alive. EJ punched him and said he didn’t want to hear his lies. Eric asked Sloan why the attorney would say the adoption didn’t go through when they had their son. Sloan said she hasn’t been completely honest with him about the adoption. She said the first baby fell through because the mother found out about her history. Sloan said Melinda was able to find another baby, but she didn’t want to say anything until she was positive it would work out. She said she felt guilty that she was the reason why the first adoption didn’t go through.

Eric understood Sloan’s explanation. He said the first mother was wrong about her. Later on, Sloan wanted to see Melinda. She told Melinda about the call from the adoption attorney and that Dimitri was blackmailing her with the truth. Sloan said he would stay quiet because she did what he wanted, but she was still concerned. Melinda thought to use a contact she had in the DOJ to get Dimitri transferred to a different prison where he would be in solitary confinement. When Sloan started to feel better, Leo showed up. He told her she needed to let him in. Lucas continued berating Dimitri for kidnapping his mother. Dimitri told him Kate was rescued and never injured. Lucas said he wished he was there to see him get arrested. Dimitri said he wasn’t caught. He said he turned himself in. Lucas asked why he would have done that. Dimitri said he did it for love. Lucas ripped into Dimitri for causing Nicole’s baby to die. Dimitri said he didn’t know what he was talking about. Kate showed up while they were arguing. Dimitri left so they could talk. Kate told Lucas not to get in trouble. Lucas said he has become good friends with the warden. Eric took Jude to the park. Nicole saw them together. Eric was about to leave when she told him he didn’t have to. She said she accepted that the baby wasn’t hers because the DNA test was conclusive. They sat on a bench and talked. She told him EJ suggested they have another baby. Eric said he didn’t think it was a bad idea. She said she couldn’t risk losing another child. While they were talking, EJ showed up. Eric took the baby and left. EJ comforted Nicole.

Holly and Johnny talked about Nicole. Tate tried to stall Chanel, but she told him she wanted to go back to Johnny. He tried to stall her by asking her about the oven. She told him to fill out the application and promised to tell him about the oven if he got the job. When she left, he texted Holly to let her know about Chanel. Johnny told Holly he needed her help. He told her his wedding anniversary with Chanel was coming up. He wanted her help to plan something special for Chanel. Holly agreed to help him. When Chanel came back to the pub, Johnny got a call from Sydney. He walked away so he could take the call. Chanel told Holly she wanted to talk to her. She wanted to talk about Holly’s crush on Johnny. Holly denied having a crush on him. She lied and said she had a crush on Tate but his father won’t let him date. When Johnny came back, Tate showed up. Holly told Tate that she was telling Chanel that she had a crush on him and how they couldn’t date. Tate said they could date because he didn’t care what his father thought. Darius went to see Dimitri. Dimitri didn’t recognize him until Darius explained how they met. Darius said he wanted to help him escape to get revenge on Leo. Dimitri said he knew he was married to Leo but didn’t have the full details. Darius told him what happened. Dimitri apologized that he got hurt but Leo changed. He said he and Leo loved each other. Darius tried to convince Dimitri to dress in drag so he could escape and leave Leo holding the back for all the charges.

Sloan told EJ that Dimitri would turn himself in in exchange for the charges against Leo getting dropped. She said Dimitri wouldn’t plead guilty to murder and told him he wouldn’t make the charges stick. EJ agreed to the deal and left to get the paperwork. Leo didn’t feel comfortable letting Dimitri sacrifice himself for him. She tried to convince him to go along with it when Eric called and had to leave. EJ came back with the paperwork. Leo signed the paperwork. After he signed the paperwork, Dimitri walked into the interrogation room to turn himself in. At the hospital, Nicole thought the DNA results would prove Eric and Sloan’s baby was hers, She apologized for not considering his feelings. Nicole said she knew how important it was for him to be a father. He said it was fine. She got upset when she realized he did the test to humor her. He explained to her that this was nothing more than her grief making her imagine things. She said he didn’t see the baby when it was born. Nicole said she knew her child better than anyone and knew he adopted her son. It upset him when she accused Sloan of taking her baby. Nicole reminded him that she stole a baby and knew how it was to do it. He wanted to check on the DNA results. She said she would watch the baby, but he said he would take him. Eric called Sloan and told her about the test. Sloan went to the hospital and walked into the office Nicole was in. Nicole told her when the results would be ready. She said everyone would know the truth. When Eric came back, Sloan said she never consented to the test on their son and didn’t want it done. He said it was too late and held up the envelope with the results in it.

Tate talked to Brady about Holly. He said he tried to make her feel better but she ghosted him. Brady advised him not to give up on her. He said she could use a friend to lean on as long as she respects her boundaries. He suggested that Tate bring her pie. Chanel talked to Paulina about Holly’s crush on Johnny. She didn’t want Holly going after her man. Johnny called Chanel and told her he was going to be with Holly for Thanksgiving because she was upset about the baby. Chanel told him she understood. When Chad came home, he and Stephanie talked. Chad went to take a shower. While he was gone, his phone rang. she saw Gwen’s name on his phone. When he came out of the shower, she asked him about Gwen’s number being on his phone. He lied to her about why she was on the phone. When Stephanie left the room, Gwen called him. He told her the contracts were signed. The money was going to be transferred by the next day. He thanked her for selling half the Spectator. He asked her to keep quiet about it. He said he didn’t want Stephanie to find out he was doing this to get Everett out of their lives.

Chad and Stephanie went to the Horton House for dinner. They saw Everett in the house. Julie told them she invited Everett to dinner. Chad asked her if she knew him. Everett thought they knew each other in a previous life. He told them about the story he wanted to write. Stephanie asked Chad and Everett to check the turkey. She talked to Julie about her past with Everett. Abe, Paulina, and Chanel ate dinner. When they were finished, Chanel showed him pictures of Lani, Eli and the twins. He was upset that he didn’t remember them. Chanel apologized to him. She said she didn’t mean to upset him. When Chanel left to clean up, Abe and Paulina spent time together. She told him she was tempted to kiss him. She said she knew the mistake she made the last time. She was determined to be grateful for what she has. He said he wanted to kiss her. Johnny and Holly spent time together until Tate showed up. Johnny decided to go see Chanel since Holly wouldn’t be alone. When Johnny left, Holly told him she would forgive him for being an idiot if he helped her break up Johnny and Chanel. Tate told her Johnny was too old for her. He agreed to help her. He said he wanted to see her happy. She said would be happy when Johnny saw that Chanel was wrong for him.

Nicole talked to EJ at the hospital. She wanted to know why there wasn’t much done for her baby. He tried to calm her down but it didn’t do any good. Leo tried to convince Dimitri to get on the submarine. Dimitri didn’t want to leave him behind. When Leo got off the phone, Rafe warned Leo that he was going to pay for what Dimitri did. Leo said he wasn’t going to betray Dimitri. EJ told Nicole that he was going to light a fire under Rafe to find their baby. He got a call telling him Leo was arrested. He was going to find out what was going on with the baby. Melinda talked to Dr. Pierce so he could check the baby. Sloan and Eric talked about their baby. She assured him the baby was healthy. He said he realized that their baby was born on the same day as Nicole. Sloan pretended to be shocked that Nicole’s baby was born. He said Nicole and EJ should be with the baby. She flashed back to Dimitri telling her and Melinda about Nicole’s baby. Dr. Pierce told Melinda he only met with her because of Sloan. He said he didn’t meet with her to do something unethical. She bribed him to help her. After he checked the baby, he said the baby was okay. She wanted him to deliver bad news to the parents of the baby. Dimitri called Sloan. He told her Leo was arrested. He wanted her to help Leo. Leo told Rafe that he wasn’t going to say anything against Dimitri. He wondered if Dimitri was cleared of his charges since Gabi was arrested for Li’s murder. When Rafe didn’t answer Leo assumed Dimitri wasn’t clear. EJ showed up and wanted to know where his baby was. Sloan told Dimitri that Leo tried to stiff her the last time she represented him. He told her Leo was a good man who didn’t deserve what was happening to him. She agreed to help Leo.

EJ told Rafe that Dimitri took his baby. Leo said it was a misunderstanding. EJ threatened Leo if he didn’t tell him where his baby was. Dr. Pierce refused to do what Melinda wanted. He said he could lose his license. She said he would figure out a way to do it. He said the parents would be devastated. She said she didn’t feel good about it. She said he would be making another couple happy. Leo said he didn’t know where Dimitri was. EJ asked if Dimitri was holding his baby for ransom. Rafe said he would handle it. EJ said he was the D.A. and had every right to question Leo. Sloan said he didn’t. She said she wanted to speak to her client in private. Rafe and EJ left so they could talk. Leo asked if Dimitri mentioned Nicole’s baby. Sloan said he never mentioned it. Melinda told the baby that Sloan was going to be happy. She said she felt bad about what she was doing to Nicole. She talked about what happened with Haley and how she had to give her up. Dr. Pierce went to Nicole and EJ. He said a man showed up at the hospital earlier that night. EJ said the baby was brought to the hospital. She wanted to know what was going on. She asked if her baby was okay. Dr. Pierce said her baby died. Leo asked if Dimitri left town. Sloan said she believed so. He was relieved. She said was going to do her best to get him out of his predicament. Melinda called Sloan and told her Dr. Pierce agreed to help them. Nicole said it wasn’t possible for her baby to be dead. She said it was fine when Dimitri had him. Dr. Pierce said the baby died because of injuries during the crash. He gave her a blanket. She said Dimitri wrapped the baby in the blanket. Nicole broke down in EJ’s arms. He comforted her over the loss of the baby.

EJ said he wasn’t going to let them get away with this. They said there was nothing he could do about it. Gabi told him to make sure his office was cleaned out because anything he left was getting thrown out. EJ said his next move was going to stop them. When he left, Stefan called a shareholder meeting. Gabi wanted to go with him but he said he would handle it. Nicole and Chad talked about the wedding. She wanted to know what happened to Stephanie. He told her about his argument with Stephanie. He said he loved Stephanie but he couldn’t picture marrying anyone but Abby. Nicole said she understood. She said she had trouble letting go of Eric even though it wasn’t the same thing. She gave him advice about the uncertainties of life. Nicole gave him advice about Abby wanting him to be happy. He said he believed her. He said he was going  to find Stephanie and make things right with her. EJ told Nicole that Stefan and Gabi were taking control over DiMera. He got a notification that the shareholders voted him out. Nicole said they would do everything they could to make it work, but for now she wanted to celebrate their wedding night.

Stephanie and Everett ran into each other at the Square. He said he was staying in Salem. Everett said he had a job at the Salem Spectator. His purpose wasn’t to cause her trouble. He wondered how her boyfriend reacted to the news of him being in town. She said she hadn’t told him yet. Everett thought that was interesting. She said she didn’t have a chance to tell him. She talked to him about the issues she had with Chad. Chad showed up and saw them together. Eric went home and told Sloan that he wanted to marry her that day. He convinced her it was a good idea. When he left so she could get ready, she told herself there was nothing Nicole could do to ruin it. Eric went to see Marlena and asked her to marry him and Sloan. She agreed to marry them. Roman showed up for the wedding. When Sloan showed up, they wanted to start the wedding. Brady showed up at the apartment. Eric asked him to be his best man. Li was upset about Gabi tricking him. He talked about getting revenge. Wendy walked in and saw him holding a knife. He lied and said he was making dinner. They talked about Marlena helping him. He told her what Gabi did to him. Wendy was upset about what she did. He said he was going to let go of it. She said she had plans with Tripp but she wanted to cancel them. Li told her not to do it. Later on, Li was shown on the floor with a stab wound in his back. Stefan came in the apartment and found Gabi holding a knife with blood on it.

She said she probably wouldn’t be marrying EJ. She told him EJ was the father of her baby. She said she was going to have a healthy baby. It was a sign they belonged together. She said she loved EJ. Eric said he was happy for her if she was happy. She asked about the adoption. He said he and Sloan were going through with the adoption. She said she was happy for him if he was happy. They walked away from each other. Eric went to see Marlena so he could talk. He told her Nicole was getting married to EJ that day. She said she could tell he was emotional. She asked if he would have gotten back together with Nicole if her baby was his. He said he would have. She asked him about Sloan. He told her he was happy with Sloan, but he still loved Nicole. She told him to be sure of what he wants before he made a commitment with Sloan. Stefan met with Rolf in the park. He said he needed Rolf’s help to blackmail Li. Rolf wanted to know why he should help. Stefan reminded him that he helped Megan and Li try to kill him. Rolf said he kept him alive for years and never got a thank you. Stefan thanked him. He said Stefano would support what he was doing. He said he was blackmailing Li to sign over his shares which would give him control of DiMera. Rolf agreed to do it for Stefano.

Li went to look for Gabi. When he was about to leave, Rolf was at the door. Li wanted to know why he was in Salem. Rolf said Megan sent him there. Li said he didn’t have time for this because Gabi was kidnapped. He said he had to save her. Rolf said Megan was the one who kidnapped Gabi. She was using Gabi to get Li’s shares in DiMera. Rolf reminded him that he helped Megan kill Stefan. Li admitted to what he did. He said he was wrong to do it. He said he was working on getting over Gabi. Rolf didn’t believe it would work. Li was shocked when Gabi came out. She said she wasn’t kidnapped. Li didn’t understand why she did it until Stefan showed up. Stefan played the recording of Li admitting to his role in trying to kill him. They told Li to sign over his rights to them. Li agreed to sign them his shares. He threw them out of the apartment and vowed to get revenge on them. Johnny asked why Holly didn’t want to see their parents getting married. She said she would never get the man of her dreams. Johnny wanted to know who it was. She said it was EJ. They talked about it for a little bit before she told him she was okay with the wedding. When Chad showed up at the mansion, EJ and Nicole got married. Stefan and Gabi showed up at the wedding. Gabi made a toast to the couple. EJ wanted to know why they were there. Marlena said his issues with his old girlfriend were why he was desperate to hold on to Gabi. He said she was right. He said he would get over Gabi with her help. He said he was going to continue having sessions with her. Gabi and Stefan talked about the plan to blackmail Li. She wondered if he was hesitating the way he did with Kristen. He said he wasn’t because Li tried to have him killed. They said they needed to get the evidence that Li was involved in his attempted murder. He said he secured an asset that would help them get what they want. Stefan left to pick up the asset. She called Li and told him she was kidnapped. While Johnny and Hope were talking, EJ and Nicole wanted to talk to them. They told Johnny and Holly they were getting married. Holly wasn’t happy about it. EJ and Johnny left the room so Nicole could talk to Holly. Holly thought about Johnny telling her he couldn’t be with her because they were step-siblings. She told Nicole she didn’t think it was a good idea that she marry EJ. Nicole wanted to know why. Holly lied and said she wanted him to be with Eric.

Eric was shocked that he was interested in Holly. Eric said he and Holly were close when he was married to Holly. Tate said she was interested in an older man. Johnny interrupted them before Tate could tell who the person was. Tate went back to work. Johnny told Eric that Nicole and EJ were getting married. While Eric was in the Square, he thought about Johnny telling him Nicole and EJ were getting married. EJ went to Chad to tell him he and Nicole were getting married. EJ invited him to the wedding. She said that was true unless he planned on doing something illegal or harmful to anyone else in the future. He said he had no intention of doing that. He just wanted to get over Gabi. EJ told Nicole that Stefan and Gabby got Kristen’s shares. Nicole wondered if that meant Stefan and Gabi controlled the business. He said they didn’t. He said they had to get one more shareholder on their side and that would be it. She was worried about bringing a baby into that family when she and the baby weren’t a priority to him. He said Stefano always put family first. He promised to do better. She said she wanted to believe him, but she wasn’t sure. She said they were supposed to get married but it didn’t happen because of his revenge plot against Ava. He said they would get married the day after Halloween. Chad talked to Kate about his fight with Stephanie. He told her that he and Stephanie weren’t on the same page about marriage. He said Stephanie wanted to get married but he didn’t. He said their fight was about Abby. He questioned if he moved on too soon. He questioned if Stephanie wanted to marry him because she wanted to or because she was afraid of being ghosted again. He said he wasn’t giving up on her. When Everett left, Chad came home. He asked if she wanted to talk. She said they have talked enough. Stefan and Gabi were at the Square. Gabi edited the recording of Rachel. She told Stefan she didn’t feel good about it. She said she would be devastated if anyone accused her of abusing Arianna. He said what they were doing was terrible, but they didn’t have a choice if they wanted the shares. He said no one would ever see the video as long as Kristen does what they want. She said they also had to betray Brady to get what they wanted. He said he felt worse about that, but they didn’t have a choice. They wanted to move quickly with the plan so EJ wouldn’t get Kristen’s shares before they did. EJ and Kristen walked at the square. He told her he was concerned Stefan and Gabi would come after her the way they did Dimitri to get control of their shares. He said she should give them to him so he could protect them. She was suspicious and said she would have to think about it. Stefan called Kristen and asked her to meet him and Gabi at home. When she got there, they told her to sign her shares over to them. She laughed at them until they showed her the recording of Rachel saying her mother gave her a black eye and the video of her saying she would discipline her daughter anyway she wanted. She realized they set her up. She yelled at them but she didn’t back down.

Stefan and Gabi told Kristen they would give the video to Brady if she didn’t sign over her shares. Kristen said she was calling their bluff. She was going to take her chances with the judge. She said she didn’t want to risk losing Rachel. She signed the paper. Stefan told her she had to convince Peter to sign over his shares. When they left, EJ showed up. Kristen told him what happened. Marlena asked Brady about his deal with Gabi and Stefan. He told her they were setting Kristen up to look like she abused Rachel physically. He said he agreed to help them. She said what he was doing was wrong. He said he didn’t care. He said he wanted his daughter back no matter what he had to do. She tried to talk him out of it, but he refused to change his mind. She had to leave to go to the hospital. After she left, Gabi and Stefan showed up. They told Brady they deleted the videos because they made a deal with Kristen. He was upset that they double crossed him, but they didn’t care. Chad asked Stephanie if Steve was right about her wanting to get married. She said she did want to get married, but he wasn’t ready. She said she lied so she wouldn’t pressure him. He wasn’t happy that she lied to him. They argued over his feelings for her and Abby. She said she tried to get Sarah to tell him the truth but she was Sarah’s mother and had to respect her decision. He said he understood and apologized to her for yelling at her especially now. She said it has been hard, but Konstantin has been there for her. He said he was glad that Konstantin was there for her. He said Konstantin doesn’t like him. He said he was there for her too. She said she hoped for the baby’s sake he and Sarah got along. Konstantin was talking to Theresa on the phone when Sarah walked in and heard him mention Xander’s name. He got off the phone and talked to Sarah. She wanted to know what he was talking about on the phone. He lied and told her he was telling someone in Greece about the things Xander has done. He said they all knew his reputation and didn’t like him. She talked to him about the custody case. He said he supported her. She said she was trying to look like the perfect parent for her daughter. She said she knew how to do it. She wanted the nanny to put Victoria down for a nap, but he offered to do it. She handed him the baby and left. He insulted Victor to the baby. He said he was going to get all of Victor’s money.

When Maggie went home, Konstantin gave her a portrait of Victor. She loved the portrait. He put it on the mantle. She left to fix her makeup. Konstantin told Victor’s portrait that he was going to steal all of his wife’s money. Marlena, Steve and Kayla put Halloween bags together at the pub. Kate brought Thomas and Charlotte to the pub. Kayla pulled Steve to the side and told him to leave Chad alone about marrying Stephanie. She told him about Chad and Stephanie’s conversation. Chad and Stephanie showed up at the pub. Kristen told Gabi she was having lunch with EJ. Gabi was upset that Kristen was getting closer to EJ. Stefan was playing 20 Questions with Rachel. He said he found a way for her to get tickets to see Taylor Swift. He said she had to enter a costume contest. He said Gabi would help her with a winning idea. When Kristen left, Gabi told Stefan they had to step up their plan. Rachel came back in the room. Stefan left Gabi and Rachel to put Rachel’s costume on. Gabi did her makeup. She gave Rachel a black eye and a cut on her lip. She made a recording saying Kristen gave her the injuries. Brady talked to Marlena about Tate. He thought Tate was trying to get fired. Marlena said it was good that he was holding Tate accountable. He admitted that he was over parenting Tate to make up for losing Rachel. He said that might be changing because he had a chance to get custody. He told her about Gabi’s offer to help him get custody. Marlena was skeptical of it working, She wondered if Gabi and Stefan had an ulterior motive. Brady said he didn’t care. He said he wanted his daughter back. She wondered if they were doing something illegal. He said he didn’t care if they were. He said Kristen played dirty so he had to as well. She asked if there was a way they could co-parent Rachel, but he said there wasn’t. Stefan showed up after Marlena left. Stefan wanted to make sure Brady was in on the plan. Brady said he was. They buried their grudge. Brady asked what he needed him to do. Stefan told him to intercept Kristen on her way to the Bistro and start a fight with her. Brady agreed to do it.

Kristen thought about her conversation with Brady in the courtroom after she got custody. Marlena ran into her. She told Kristen she had a goodie bag for her. Kristen didn’t want it. Ava and Gil argued in the town square. Harris and Jada showed up. They wondered if something was wrong. Ava said she was fine. Harris asked about the guy she was with. She said he was the new owner of the Bistro and her new boss. Gil was surprised to find out Harris and Jada were cops. He said he was giving Ava a tour of the kitchen. Harris was suspicious. When Ava and Gil left, Harris told Jada that something was off about Gil. He asked her what she thought about it. She said he was being overprotective. He admitted that he might be overprotective. Gil questioned Ava about her relationship with Harris. She said they were close. She said it would be suspicious if she cut ties with him now. She said if he wanted her she was stuck with Harris too. He said her connection to Harris and the police department might help them get information about the police department. Brady saw Kristen at the Bistro. He started a fight with her about Rachel’s grades. He yelled at her for making Rachel do extra work. Kristen said she did it as a consequence for Rachel not doing her homework. He yelled at her until she told him she could punish her daughter any way she felt fit. She didn’t notice Stefan recording them.

She said she regretted keeping him in the dark about their daughter. She begged him to forgive her. She said it felt justified at the time. He struggled to understand her perspective. He said he loved her. She said she wanted him to be a part of Victoria’s life. She was interrupted when the phone rang. Justin told her Xander planned on filing for full custody of Victoria. Clyde read in the paper that Susan was alive. He read that Edmund didn’t know who sent Susan to him. He said he was the one who did it and the police would never find out. Lucas showed up and asked why he was talking to himself. Lucas reminded him that it was Abby’s birthday. He reminded Clyde that he murdered Abby in cold blood. Clyde said he didn’t intend to kill Abby. He said he was defending himself. Lucas wondered how he was able to live with himself. He said Clyde didn’t deserve to be alive. Clyde reminded him of the crimes he committed. He warned Lucas about making threats. Ava and Harris kissed each other. He told her he wanted to do that for a long time. She said she felt the same way. She said she tried to deny that she had romantic feelings for him. They both believe their feelings were more than platonic. She said they should put everything on hold until they get their lives back together. She said she doesn’t have any money and didn’t know what kind of job she could get. He said this is her chance to get a fresh start. He asked what she liked to do. She said she loved to cook. He said she could feed people for a living. She asked what he was going to do. He said Kate suggested that he become a cop. He said he had to talk to Rafe to see what he thought about it. She said he shouldn’t use her as a reference. She said she wasn’t Rafe’s favorite person.

Constantine went to see Maggie. Chloe went to see Brady to tell him she was leaving town. Philip told Belle that he was leaving town with Chloe. He said she and Shawn can visit him. She said Shawn cheated on her. Chloe told Brady that she was leaving town with Philip. Belle told Philip that Shawn cheated on her with Talia. Philip asked if she and Shawn were going to work things out. She said they weren’t going to work things out. She said she thought her marriage was over. Shawn asked Talia if she was there to see Jada. She said she was there to see him because Belle knew about them. She asked where things stood between them. He said he thought this might be Belle’s breaking point. Justin went to see Alex. Alex told him that he loved him and was grateful to him and his brothers. Justin was glad to hear it. He told Alex he loved him. Justin asked him about Maggie and taking her spot at Titan. Alex said he was Victor’s heir. Justin asked if he was going to take the mansion. Constantine told Maggie that Victor loved and cherished her. She said she appreciated him telling her that. She wanted to know why he was there. Talia apologized to Shawn for what he was going through. She thought that time would help it. She said she hated the fact that she was the reason why his marriage was over. He said his marriage was over before their affair. Belle told Philip that Shawn’s affair was her karma. She said people would say she got what she deserved. Philip said she didn’t deserve what happened to her. He told her to try and save her marriage. He said they have been through too much together. She agreed to try and save her marriage. Brady asked if Chloe was giving Philip another chance. She said they were going to New York together and they might get back together. She said Philip still loved her and she had unresolved feelings for him. He said he wanted her to be happy. He let her know that she was his first love and he would never get over her. Constantine gave Maggie a photo album with pictures of Victor in it.

Alex told Justin that he was making it seem as if he kicked Maggie to the curb. He said he offered Maggie a job. He said he was Victor’s heir. He said he would never do anything to hurt Maggie. He said he wouldn’t kick Maggie out since the mansion is half hers. He asked Justin if he believed him. He said he did. Alex said he wasn’t going to change. He was just trying to come to terms with it. Kate was upset with Philip for getting involved with Chloe. Brady told Chloe that he understood why their relationship didn’t work. He said Kristen and Rachel did everything to break them up. Chloe said she didn’t regret being with him. She told him she was grateful for their relationship. She said he would always be in her heart. Talia told Shawn that they both made bad decisions that night. She said he was a great guy. She said everyone knew it except for him. Belle showed up while Shawn and Talia were talking. Belle told Talia that she needed to talk to Shawn. Shawn said Talia came to apologize. Belle said she wanted to talk about their marriage. She said she was hurt by what he did. She said she wanted to put what happened behind them and save their marriage. Brady told Chloe that he wanted her to have the best life. He thought Philip must be on the right track if she was willing to forgive him. Kate reminded Philip of the things Chloe has done to him. She thought Chloe would bring him down again. He said Chloe wasn’t the reason why he did what he did. He said he wasn’t running off with Chloe. He said it was two friends with a history going away together. Kate told him to call off the trip before it was too late. Justin asked Alex if he was moving back to the mansion. Alex said he would think about it. Justin said he was proud of him for not letting the money get to his head. Alex asked if Justin would let him know if he ever let the money get to his head. Kate tried to convince Philip that Chloe was rebounding with him to get over Xander. Philip said Chloe wasn’t rebounding with him. Kate said she was worried about him because of everything he has gone through. He said he could have ended up in prison or Bayview if it weren’t for her and Victor. She said they did what they did because they loved him. He said he loved her too. Shawn told Belle he was surprised by her reaction. She said if they put in the time they could get through this. She said they need to get through this. He said he was glad that she wanted to work on their marriage, but he wasn’t going to be there. He said he was going to an outpatient rehab near Bo’s rehab. He said he would be near Ciara. She said she would put in a leave of absence. He said he wasn’t going to be gone for a little while. He said he needed to do it without her. He said he was going to be focused on their marriage instead of himself. She asked if he couldn’t fix himself with her there. He said he couldn’t focus if she was there. He said he needed time away to work on his problems if they were going to work on their marriage. He said he hoped she understood. She said she didn’t like it but she got it. She said she didn’t know how he could lean on his mother and sister and not her.

Maggie told Justin that he and Bonnie could move back to the Kiriakis mansion. She told him Alex kicked her out of Titan. Stephanie went to Titan and told who she thought was Vivian that she quit. When Alex turned around, she was shocked that he was there. Bonnie and Kayla talked about Victor’s will. Bonnie told her Maggie was taken care of in the will and kicked Vivian out. She also told her Alex was Victor’s son. Alex told Stephanie that Victor left everything to him and Maggie. Stephanie wondered what happened with the rest of the family. He said Victor was his father. Maggie and Justin talked about Alex. She told him Alex told her the board would vote her out. She said Alex offered her a job but she didn’t take it. Justin said he couldn’t believe Alex would do that. He also couldn’t believe Victor would do this to them. Brady, Theresa and Tate came home from California. Kate told Chad that Sarah and Rex lied about the baby being Rex’s. She said Sarah and Rex were keeping Xander away from the baby. She was upset that she was stuck with a daughter-in-law she didn’t like. Kayla was shocked that Victor was Alex’s father. She couldn’t believe Victor would do that to Justin. Maggie told Justin that Victor probably kept Alex’s paternity a secret because he thought Justin would be a better father. Alex told Stephanie that Justin was her cousin and Sonny wasn’t his brother. Stephanie said it didn’t have to change anything. She asked if Victor’s will gave him control of Titan. Alex said not necessarily. He said Maggie said Victor would have given him the company sooner if he wanted him to run it. Stephanie asked if that was true. Alex said he wasn’t sure. He said he probably thought the money would make up for not being there for him as his father. Brady and Tate argued over him getting expelled in school. They argued over Tate getting a job.

Chad talked to Kate about Stephanie. He said he and Stephanie weren’t together that long. Kate asked if he wanted to marry her. Stephanie tried to convince Alex to appreciate the money and power he has. She assumed he wouldn’t be living near her anymore. He said he didn’t feel comfortable living with Maggie right now. He told her she could quit the company if she wanted to. She said she didn’t want to quit. Justin asked Maggie if Alex wanted to move back in the mansion. She said he liked where he was. Justin said he wouldn’t come back to the mansion either if Bonnie didn’t want to move in. Maggie told him the mansion was his family home. She said Victor would have wanted him there. She said Alex was still his son. She reminded him about what happened when Mickey found Mike wasn’t his son. She said Mickey and Mike went through drama at first but loved each other. Brady and Theresa took Tate to the pub.Tate didn’t want to work there. Bonnie told Brady that Victor changed the will. She said Vivian didn’t get anything. She said half the money went to Maggie and the other half to the son no one knew he had. Kate tried to convince Chad to make a commitment with Stephanie. Stephanie showed up while they were talking. Justin appreciated Maggie talking to him about Mickey and Mike. She thought things would work out between Justin and Alex. Brady couldn’t believe Alex was Victor’s son. Kayla told Victor there was a letter with the will. Theresa flashed back to opening the briefcase Shane gave to her with Victor’s will in it. She left the pub so she could take care of something. She went to see Alex.

Philip and Rex talked about Victor’s will. They talked about Maggie throwing Vivian out. Philip said he couldn’t stand Vivian. Rex said Xander refused to stay away from the baby. Philip said he understood why Sarah wanted to keep the baby away from Xander. He wondered if she still had feelings for Xander. Rex said she only felt disgust for Xander. He said unless Susan came back from the dead, Sarah would never let Xander be in her or the baby’s life. Rex said Chloe overhearing them talking complicated things, but he wasn’t blaming her. He asked if Chloe overheard Philip say he loved her. Philip said she took it well. He said she told him her feelings for him came back when she saw him again. Rex said he always thought he and Chloe were meant to be together. Philip agreed with him. Philip said he lost his way and never wanted to do it again. Rex wondered what that meant for him and Chloe. Philip said he was going to let her decide who she was going to be with. When Philip left, Kate showed up to talk about Rex’s relationship with Sarah. Rex said he didn’t want to hear what she had to say. He got a text from Xander saying he wanted to talk. He left to find Xander. EJ met with Bronson at the DiMera mansion. He said he had a new job for Bronson. He said he wanted him to kill Ava since the last person didn’t do it. Bronson said he would do it but he needed to know where she was. EJ said he had people working on finding her. He had something else for him to do. He wanted him to kill Xander for helping Ava kill his mother. Bronson asked if it was smart since the Salem PD suspected him of sending the hitwoman after Ava. EJ wasn’t worried about that. He said they were going to frame Rex since he hated Xander. He said he had no feelings for Rex either way so he was expendable. Bronson agreed to do the job.

Chloe talked to her mother on the phone when Xander came home. She wondered where he was. He said he slept at the office so he could figure things out. He said he planned to sue Sarah for custody. He wanted her to be by his side. He apologized to her for not being able to go to New York right now. He said he loved her and wanted to marry her. She told him she didn’t want to marry him anymore. She told him she still had feelings for Philip. She said she loved him but they were in love with other people. She said they were using their relationship to hide from it. He told her he didn’t want to be with Sarah. Chloe said he was just angry now but when he calmed down he would change his mind. She said she was going to spend one more night in the room before she moved out. She gave him back the ring. They kissed before she went in her room. She packed her bags and told him goodbye. Bronson showed up dressed as a worker from the gas company. He told Xander there was a gas leak reported. He asked if he could come in and check it. Xander let him come in and check it. Bronson pulled out a gun when someone knocked on the door. It was Rex. Xander wanted to know what Rex wanted. Chloe and Philip met each other. She told him she wanted to tell him in person that she was leaving Salem. Ava asked Susan to send a psychic message to anyone who could get them out. Susan got an image of Edmund holding a gun on Rafe and Tripp. Ava panicked and asked Harris to do something to save her son. Harris tried to break the chains holding him. Susan wanted Ava to pray with her that the chains would open. The chains ended up breaking. Edmund put a gun to Rafe and Tripp. He said if he let them search his house, they would find his guests. Tripp asked who his guests were. Edmund said Ava and Harris were his guests. Edmund was shocked to find out Tripp was Ava’s son. Rafe tried to stop him from shooting Tripp. Edmund said he would shoot him too. Harris showed up and stopped Edmund from shooting them. Harris and Edmund fought over the gun. Harris got the gun from Edmund. Rafe asked Harris for the gun. Harris gave it to him. Harris took Tripp to free Ava.
