Brad persuades Britt to give Cody a second date despite the fact that Maxie doesn’t think he is a good person anymore. Brad tells Britt if she wants Cody, she should just go get him.

Curtis thinks Jordan lost the divorce papers on purpose because she still has feelings for him and Portia asks Curtis if Jordan had been honest with him and not kept so many secrets would Curtis still be married to her.

Jordan tells Sonny that she thinks the hook attacker is targeting people that are connected to him and she wonders which of his enemies could want to target the people around him. Dante suspects Dex because he happened to be in close proximity when both attacks happened.

Sasha and Gladys both plead with Brando to wake up because they need him. Brando awakens when Sasha talks to him. Portia tells Sonny that Brando’s prognosis is cautiously optimistic and advises him to pray because prayer helps but, she also tells him to be prepared for the worst.

Lily tries to persuade Devon to allow Nate to work on his ideas and let him fail because that is the only way he will learn.

Devon doesn’t want to take the company public and he is upset that Lily agrees with Jill.

Nate talks to Victoria and tells her that Jill wants to take Chancellor Winters public and that Lily agrees with Jill about the idea, but Billy and Devon don’t want to do it. Nate tells Victoria that he thinks Jill and Lily will be able to persuade Billy and Devon to take the company public. Nate tells Victoria that when the IPO happens he will be her man inside Chancellor Winters giving her information so she can buy controlling shares in the company so she can take over Chancellor Winters, and when she does, he wants to be CEO of the company. Victoria is stunned that Nate wants to betray his family in this way.

Sally tells Nick that she needs to concentrate on her job and Nick is willing to step aside until she decides how she feels about Adam. Sally and Nick decide to go back to work but instead they end up in Sally’s hotel room where they have sex…again. Sally and Nick get dressed and about to go back to work when Adam arrives and wonders why Nick is in Sally’s hotel room.

Carly sees the mother of her best friend when she was sixteen years old. Carly’s best friend’s nickname was Carly and her mother is upset that Carly is using her deceased daughter’s nickname. The woman is also upset that Carly slept with her husband when he was forty and Carly was sixteen years old. The woman also blames Carly for the car accident that caused the death of her daughter since her daughter was so upset that Carly slept with her father that she got in a car and had an accident. The woman tells Carly to get on a plane and leave Jacksonville because she never belonged there.

Nikolas asks Ava to give him another chance because he still loves her and believes they are soul mates.

TJ tells Sasha that the hook broke one of Brando’s ribs, and the piece of bone from his rib punctured his lung. TJ later tells Sasha that they had to stop the surgery until they stabilize Brando’s blood pressure.

Jordan interviews Gladys and Sasha about what happened before Brando was attacked, and Gladys tells Jordan that Josslyn was talking to Dex before she left Charlie’s pub. Rory talks to Josslyn who tells him Dex left his glasses and she wanted to catch up to him to return his, glasses. Josslyn tells Rory she didn’t see anyone in the alley when she left the pub. Michael tells Dex to stay away from Josslyn but that will be hard to do since Sonny wants Dex to discreetly keep an eye on Josslyn while the hook attacker is on the loose.

Nikki is nervous about her trip to Los Angeles to talk to Deacon but, she is determined to go to Los Angeles to see if Deacon has any dirt on Diane that she can use to get Diane out of town.

Carly’s flight to Aruba has to land in Florida because of a storm and Carly leaves her phone on the plane and isn’t allowed to go back and get it since they have already been moved. Carly is told later that the flight has been cancelled due to the storms, but she has to spend the night in Jacksonville. Drew calls Carly twice and his call goes to voice mail so, he thinks she is on the plane to Aruba.

Dante tells Jordan that a large hook used for fishing is missing from the Quartermaine stables. Jordan tells Dante that the hospital report says Ava was attacked with, an object similar to a hook so, they deduce it is the fishing hook.

Nik tells Ava that he is a rat for sleeping with Esme, but he would never kill her because he loves her very much.

Kristina sees something moving in the alley outside Charlie’s pub, and she sees someone swinging the hook and attacking Brandon, but she can’t see the face of the attacker because it is raining. Brandon is rushed to the hospital and Sasha pleads with Brandon not to leave her because she loves him and needs him very much. Brandon gets to the hospital and is taken to surgery.

Sonny tells Ava and Nikolas that Brandon was attacked with a hook.

Devon and Nate finally get everything out in the open, but it only makes the rift between them worse.

Lily and Billy try to mediate between Devon and Nate but Nate is tired of banging his head against the wall so he quits his job, at Chancellor Winters. Lily tells Devon that she agrees with Jill and she wants to take Chancellor Winters public and she is determined to persuade Devon this is the right decision for the company.

Adam interrupts a conversation between Victor and Jack and Victor tells Adam that he is done with him and wishes him luck with his life. Victor is upset that Adam broke away from the family that he goes to his home gym and hits the heavy boxing bag for a long time.

Nick and Sally have sex in Sally’s office and Adam almost catches them together, but he leaves when Sally doesn’t answer him when he calls her name and he tries to open her office door and it is locked. Nick and Sally go to dinner because they are hungry after all the physical activity. They see Adam and they have an awkward dinner together. Nick takes Sally back to her place and tells her goodnight and Adam sees Nick leaving Sally’s door and wonders what is going on between Nick and Sally.

Jordan promises to sign the divorce papers, as soon as, his lawyer can get the papers ready. Aunt Stella thanks Jordan for covering for her about the divorce papers. Curtis doesn’t believe Jordan’s story about the papers and wants to find out the truth.

Elizabeth tells Ava that she wasn’t with Nikolas the entire time at the Quartermaine picnic, so Ava decides to have a talk with Nikolas.

Sasha signs the papers for Brandon to be her legal guardian..

Carly is on the plane on the way to her seminar and the flight attendant tells everyone to fasten their seat belts and brace for impact.

Brandon is outside Charlie’s pub when he is attacked by someone holding a hook.

Primetime TV Review: Monarch

“Monarch” Review on by Eva 9/13/2022

I decided to watch Monarch after I saw some video clips of the show which made me think that it was going to be a nighttime soap opera. While I really enjoy daytime soaps, I also enjoy nighttime soaps if they are good and Monarch is very good.

The show centers around the first family of country music the Roman family, which seems like a family who is living the American dream, but behind closed doors everyone in the family is hiding secrets.

The Matriarch of the family is Dottie Roman (Susan Sarandon) who is facing a battle with cancer and how she handles that battle with cancer will leave a lasting impact on her family especially her daughter Nicolette “Nicky” Roman. Dottie’s husband Albie Roman (Trace Atkins) loves his wife, children, and singing but he hates the business side of the music industry. Albie and Dottie will do whatever they have to do to protect their family image as the first family of country music.

The show premiered its first episode on Sunday, September 11, 2022, but will debut in its regular time slot on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 9 PM Eastern time 8 PM Central time on Fox.

If you missed the first episode it is worth going to ABC.com or Hulu to watch it. This show is full of twists and turns that keep viewers guessing what will happen next and gives you the classic soap staple the cliff hanger. The first episode is full of classic country song covers, but the show also plans to have original country songs in it.

I give this show 5 out of 5 stars and I will be watching it every week.

Victor warns Jack that he made a mistake hiring Adam to work at Jabot because Adam only took the job to get under his skin and make him mad. Victor tells Jack that once Adam realizes that he isn’t bothered by him working at Jabot, he will get bored and leave Jabot. Jack believes that Adam will do a good job at Jabot and it will be a healthy change for Adam.

Chance and Chelsea are feeling bored and restless so they both go to Crimson Lights to have decaf tea and Chance teaches Chelsea some relaxation exercises to do when she feels restless and anxious.

Abby has a bad dream in which Chance chooses his job over his family and later she tells Chance something feels off with their relationship. Chance assures Abby that things are fine between them and she doesn’t need to worry about their relationship.

Diane interrupts a some alone time between Summer and Kyle when she tells them she thinks Phyllis planted a file that contains a contract from a Marchetti vendor which is charging a very high amount for their product. Diane thinks that Phyllis planted the file on her computer to make it look like she is accepting kickbacks from the vendor. Summer later tells Kyle that she thinks Diane put the file on her own computer, so that they would think Phyllis planted the file.

Nikki tells Victoria she is going to Los Angeles to see if Deacon Sharpe has any dirt on Diane that she can use to make Diane leave Genoa City.

Nick and Sally bond because they both feel lost at the moment and like they are pretending like everything is okay. Sally tells Nick that he is a good person that was protecting his sister when he accidentally killed Ashland.

Jack: When I first came to you, you claimed you wanted nothing to do with that reporter. But that wasn’t true, was it? Because you conveniently omitted the fact that you convinced her to use Diane as her subject.

Phyllis: I was just messing with Diane. It’s fun to do. And, honestly, she was sitting right here. If I wanted to create problems, I would have been more discreet. And it’s Diane’s own fault. She was sucking up to Talia, sucking up to an investigative journalist. If she didn’t want the heat, she shouldn’t have run into the kitchen, quite honestly.

Jack: She shouldn’t have to protect herself. No one deserves to be dragged through the mud like that.

Phyllis: Oh god, I cannot understand why you are so mad about this article. All of it has been published before. All of it. And it’s not like it wasn’t true. It’s all true. But yet again, I’m the one under suspicion for all the horrible things that Diane has done and that were published in that piece.

Felicia and Maxie try to persuade Mac to do some research and find out if Cody is his son. Mac is scared to find out the truth because he is worried that Cody could disrupt the peace in their family, so he decides not to find out the truth.

Sonny warns Victor not to do anything to Ava or he will answer to him.

Sonny also wonders if Victor or Nikolas had anything to do with Esme’s disappearance.

Ava tells Trina about Spencer’s plan to get Esme to admit she posted the video so she wouldn’t go to jail. Ava also tells Trina that Spencer has had feelings for her for a long time, but he didn’t admit them because he was afraid Esme would hurt her. Trina rushes to the police station to say goodbye to Spencer but Spencer is already at Pentonville.

Victor wants Sally fired and he wants Nick to be the CEO of Newman Media, but Nick thinks Sally is doing a great job as CEO
Newman Media.

Nate tells Elena he has already started preparations for a music festival without consulting Devon or Lily. Elena doesn’t think this is a good idea and asks him to talk to Lily before making any further preparations for the festival. Nate talks to Billy about his idea since Lily is in a meeting.

Jill asks everyone including Devon who is with Amanda while her mother is sick.

Billy likes Nate’s idea and starts telling everyone on the video call about it so Nate tells everyone what he has been working on, and Devon is upset because Nate once again did this without him. Jill also likes the idea and asks Lily what she thinks about it. Lily tells Nate that she wants to look at everything Nate has done so far and they will discuss it when Devon returns to Genoa City.

Jill tells everyone that she wants to take Chancellor Winters public because the company is doing so well.

Adam, once again, apologizes to Sally for hurting her and Sally forgives him because she knew who he was when she fell in love with him. Adam tells Sally that she was the only woman with whom he didn’t have to pretend to be someone he isn’t and that is why he fell in love with her. Sally tells Adam that now that they have told each other the truth they can be friends. Adam tells Sally he wants to be more then friends with her. Sally gets a text message from Chloe telling her she has an emergency at work and Adam wonders if she has to leave right now.

Jill tells everyone at the meeting that taking the company public is a bold move just like Nate’s music festival idea. Everyone thinks that they should think about it. Jill asks Nate his opinion and he tells Jill that he will leave the opinions to the people with more experience. Nate walks out of the meeting and calls someone to cancel the preparations for the music festival. Elena arrives at the office and Nate tells her she was right…working with family was a bad idea so he has decided to leave the company.

Tessa has her first photo shoot for Marchetti and she is nervous, at first, but does a great job once Mariah gives her a pep talk to calm her nerves.

Kyle doesn’t like that Adam arrives to watch the photo shoot and tells him he has no business being at the photo shoot. Kyle tells Adam that the family only agreed to let him have the job because they love and respect Jack. Kyle tells Adam not to do anything to disappoint Jack or make him regret his decision to hire him.

Adam and Diane talk about their similar job problems. Diane encourages Adam to prove to the Abbott’s that Jack made the right decision by hiring him to be Co-CEO.

Nate follows Imani’s advice and does something big to prove himself to Devon. Nate calls someone and tells the person on the phone that Chancellor Winters has decided to start its own music festival.

Elena confronts Imani and tells her she knows that she has been flirting with Nate and encouraging him to make business decisions without consulting Devon and Lily. Elena tells Imani to stop encouraging Nate because it could cause a rift between him and his family.

Billy decides to set up a swimming play date for Johnny (now played by Paxton Mishkind) and Connor which makes Chelsea happy.

Nikki heads to Los Angeles to talk to Deacon Shsrpe hoping that he will give her some juicy details about Diane that will help Talia persuade her editor to write some more articles about Diane.

Billy gets upset when Jack suggests that he isn’t happy being COO of Chancellor Winters and that he is just doing it to make Lily and Jill happy. Billy also gets upset with Jack when Jack tells him that he is jealous of the relationship he has with Adam.

Chelsea opens up to Adam about the fact that she feels adrift without direction and wants to take Connor with her to visit her mother in Minnesota. Adam tells Chelsea she can’t take Connor with her because he starts school in a few days. Chelsea tells Adam that the only good thing that came out of their relationship was Connor and other than that she wishes she had never met him

Sally overhears the end of the argument and she and Adam talk about Chelsea. Sally tells Adam she can understand Chelsea because not having family close by can isolate you and mess with your head. Chelsea goes by Society and has two drinks and has a mini meltdown in front of Abby telling her everything that has gone wrong in her life. Abby asks Chance to drive Chelsea home and Chelsea thanks Chance for listening to her and understanding how she feels right now.

Spencer asks Trina to give back the letter he wrote to her since she told him they are not friends, anymore. Spencer apologizes to Trina for bringing Esme into her life and tells her he wishes things had been different in their relationship. Spencer later burns the letter he wrote to Trina because he wants her to be happy.

Aunt Stella remembers taking Curtis and Jordan’s divorce papers when Curtis and Portia ask her to officiate their wedding. Aunt Stella tells Curtis to check if his divorce is final before he gets married.

Jordan talks to Trina and finds out she had a DNA test for a project in high school about her family. TJ reminds Jordan that Aunt Stella went on a website to find her family and discovered that she had a close relative in Port Charles before she found her cousin who lives in London.

Willow has a nightmare that Nelle kills Michael and Carly and takes Wiley with her. Nina also imagines a conversation with Nelle while visiting her grave on the anniversary of her death. Willow and Carly arrive at the cemetery and they have an argument with Nina. Carly tells Nina that she is just like Nelle thinking she is a victim of circumstance never taking responsibility for her actions.

Adam and Victor argue because Victor is upset that Adam is now Co-CEO at Jabot Victor thinks that Adam is making a mistake by working at Jabot and not working at Newman Media. Adam tries to explain to Victor that he is breaking ties with the Newmans because he thinks it is the healthy thing for him to do. Adam reminds Victor that his mother Hope took him to live in Kansas so he wouldn’t fall into the trap of being a Newman and now he understands her decision.

Chelsea tells Adam she wants to go visit her mother and take Connor with her. Imani (temporarily being played by Demise Boute) continues to advise Nate to do something big for Chancellor Winters so Devon will have no choice but to notice his idea.

Mariah and Tessa decide to ask Christine if she can be their adoption attorney.

Nick, Sharon, Mariah, and Tessa give Faith one last hug before she goes off to college.

Lily wonders if Billy regrets giving up his podcasts but he assures her he feels he made the right decision.
