Daytime Soap Opera Short Recaps

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl
Gabi ran into Jada as she was about to move out of the house. Jada said it was the last place she wanted to be. Gabi said she understood and wished she and Rafe could have worked things out. Jada said whenever she tried to talk to Rafe, things got worse. She told Gabi that she took off the engagement ring and told her about the argument. Gabi assured Jada that she would help her and suggested that Jada move on with her life. Changing the subject, Jada asked how things were going with JJ. Gabi said she and JJ haven’t seen each other much lately. While they were talking, flowers were delivered to Gabi from JJ. Doug III was looking at Doug’s song book when JJ walked in and wanted to see it. JJ asked Doug about the cabin. Doug told him that he ran into Holly and Tate. JJ wondered if it was uncomfortable for him. JJ realized Doug wasn’t happy about Holly being with Tate. Doug said he wasn’t happy because he likes her. JJ empathized and suggested he talk to someone other than Holly about his feelings. Doug said he appreciated the advice and was wrong about JJ not liking him. JJ said he was keeping an eye out for him because of Jennifer. He said she thought he might have taken the necklace, but he didn’t think he took it. When Doug was about the confess, JJ got interrupted by Gabi calling to invite him over.
Abe and Paulina celebrated Valentine’s Day. While they were celebrating, EJ showed up to talk about Jada. He said he was a concerned citizen who wanted to clean the mess now that Rafe was commissioner. Paulina couldn’t believe EJ and told him to leave. EJ said Belle wouldn’t be able to prosecute Jada if she had to. Paulina said she was confident in Belle and Rafe. EJ continued to plead his case until Abe wanted to take over. Abe told EJ that everything was about him. He said he was going to throw EJ out. Before EJ left, he told Paulina that she knew he was right. Arnold ran into Belle at the Small Bar. He told her that he needed a break after cleaning up the mess Jada caused when she stole his job. When Belle tried to defend Jada, Arnold told her that she stole EJ’s job. Belle wanted to know what was going on. He said he was being a good cop. Belle said he should have followed his gut and should know Jada better. Arnold tried to comfort her about Shawn and kissed her. Belle pushed him away and said it would never happen in or out of the office. Abe and Paulina talked about what EJ told them. Paulina wondered if EJ could be right until she realized how desperate he sounded. Abe said they would know soon enough. Paulina said EJ would never get the DA job. Belle went to the DiMera mansion and told EJ what “Rafe” did to her. EJ threatened to kill him. When EJ was going to confront him, she said she took care of it. Jada went to the Salem Inn to tell Rafe that she was moving out of his house. Arnold told her they could get in the bed. She couldn’t believe his nerve. When he insulted her, she told him off and said she was sorry she ever met him.

Daytime Soap Opera Short Recaps

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl
Leo and Javi celebrated Valentine’s Day at the Salem Inn. Javi opened up to Leo about coming out to his parents. His mother was okay with it, but his mother was a different story. Steve and Kayla also celebrated the day. Kayla couldn’t believe that Steve let her think he forgot about the day. He had another surprise in store for her. He had wine and cheese ready for her. Steve informed her that Stephanie helped him plan the surprise. It led to a conversation about Stephanie and Alex. Steve didn’t like the idea of Alex being a player. Kayla thought he changed. Steve remembered what happened during their relationship. While they were strolling down memory lane, Tripp texted Steve. He was worried about his mother because no one had heard from her since she left for Hong Kong. Kayla thought Ava wanted to get away from Brady and Kristen’s drama. Steve wasn’t sure and thought something was wrong. He wanted to figure it out for Tripp. Tate told Johnny and Chanel that Sophia’s mother was okay with them putting the baby up for adoption. They just had to find the right couple. Johnny and Chanel offered to adopt the baby. Chanel explained that they wanted a baby, but it’s too risky for her to get pregnant right now. Johnny thought it was fate. He told Tate that he could tell Amy that the baby would be with family since they were cousins. Tate told them how they couldn’t find a couple Amy would approve of. He warned them that they had to have good Christian values before she would agree to let them adopt the baby. Tate was willing to talk it over with Sophia. Tate wanted to meet with Holly at the Horton cabin. He didn’t like how she was waiting for him alone at the cabin. Later Johnny and Chanel went home to talk about the adoption. She wondered if they were doing the right thing by adopting Tate and Sophia’s baby. Chanel thought they were setting themselves up for disappointment. She wasn’t sure if Amy would approve of them being the baby’s parents. What if they didn’t have enough Christian values? Johnny reminded her that she went to church with her mother. Chanel still went to church from time to time. He assured her that she had good values.
Holly prepared herself for her date with Tate by wearing a negligee. She admired herself in the mirror when she got a surprise. Doug showed up at the cabin. He turned away so she could put on a robe. Doug let her know that Julie sent him on an errand. He didn’t expect her to be there. Holly told Doug that Tate was going to make dinner for her and was supposed to be there a while ago. He realized they were going to have a special night together. Doug told her about why he was there. He explained he was getting a book his grandfather gave Julie. While they were talking, Doug admitted that he developed feelings for her. He was embarrassed since she had a boyfriend. Doug thought they could act like he didn’t say it, but she didn’t think she could do that. Tate arrived and apologized for being late. He noticed Doug and didn’t expect to see him there. Doug apologized for interrupting and told him about the book. After Doug left, Holly wanted to know what kept him from arriving at the cabin. He told her about Johnny and Chanel wanting to adopt the baby. Holly wanted to know if it would be strange for him and Sophia to be that close to their baby. He felt like they would work it out. Tate promised that nothing would come between them again.

Days of Our Lives Update

Update written by Joseph
Tate tells Holly that he should get to making her that dinner he keeps promising her. They talk about how they will be taking their clothes off, so Tate takes his shirt off since Holly was already in her night gown. They talk about how they can’t wait to be together as they kiss.
Doug III sits in the living room of the Horton house with the book of poems as JJ walks in and asks what he’s reading. Doug III shows JJ the song that Doug wrote for Julie. JJ says it’s great and he can’t believe he’s never seen or heard it before. Doug III explains that Julie left it at the Horton Cabin so he went to get it for her, but by the time he got back, Julie was already asleep. JJ asks if it was his first time at the cabin. Doug III confirms that it was. JJ asks if it made it back before dark since it can get kind of spooky there by yourself. Doug III then reveals that he wasn’t alone as he ran in to Holly.
Gabi goes home and looks at JJ’s name in her phone but puts it down and pours a glass of wine. Jada comes out from the bedroom so Gabi offers her wine but Jada says she’s good and is actually going out. Gabi notices Jada’s bag packed, so Jada confirms it’s the last of her things and then she will be officially moved out.
Abe and Paulina have Valentine’s Day dinner at home. Paulina talks about how happy she is that Chanel is moving back in with Johnny and that they are getting back on track. Paulina then notices Abe’s unhappiness and apologizes for going about Chanel and Johnny while not asking how Abe is doing after Body and Soul as she can’t imagine how difficult it must have been for him to give it up. Abe confirms it was hard and says he will always be proud of the work they did, but it was the right decision. Paulina says if there is one bright side, it’s that she gets quality time alone with him. Abe agrees to drink to that. They then get interrupted by a knock at the door. Abe answers the door to see EJ.
Belle sits at the bar. She calls Marlena, leaving a message that she’s just checking in and knows she’s missing John today but she knows he’s doing everything he can to get back to them. Belle says she just stopped for a quick drink before she comes home from work and doesn’t know how long she will be, so she tells her not to wait up as she hangs up. Arnold then approaches and acknowledges Belle as the new district attorney and asks if she minds if he joins her. Arnold drinks a beer and says he needed that. Belle asks if it was a tough day. Arnold talks about how he can’t believe there’s so many criminals in this town. Belle points out Rafe has been on the force for years and questions him just now realizing that. Arnold blames the coma that Rafe was in and says it’s just taking a while to get back in the swing of things, especially after the train wreck Jada left at the police station after stealing his job, so it’s no surprise. Belle tells him that Jada did not set out to steal his job. He questions Belle being on team backstabber and remarks that she pulled the exact same stunt with EJ.
EJ wishes Paulina and Abe a happy Valentine’s Day and brings a rose as an apology for interrupting their evening, but there’s a matter that he thought Paulina would want to discuss in private and in person. Paulina asks what he wants. EJ responds that he’s here to talk about Jada Hunter.
Gabi asks if Jada is sure she has to move out. Jada says she’s beyond sure as this is the last place she wants to be. Gabi says she understands but was hoping that she and Rafe could still work things out. Jada says she might have agreed a few days ago, but now every conversation she has with “Rafe’ just gets worse. Jada adds that she even returned her engagement ring last night. Gabi asks what he said this time to get her so worked up. Jada responds that she tried to talk to “Rafe” about EJ setting her up, but he told her to just let it go which shocks Gabi. Jada complains that “Rafe’s” feelings for her magically vanished and he’s now aligned himself with EJ, who he supposedly despises. Jada adds that Shawn thinks maybe the coma altered “Rafe’s” personality somehow, but thinking about it makes her head hurt. Gabi tells Jada that she’s so sorry and asks if there’s anything she can do. Jada says at this point, she just wants all of this to be over with. Jada declares that after Bobby, she can’t go through this again, so she thinks it’s time that she just get over it and move on.
Paulina asks EJ what about Jada. EJ says Paulina has a crisis on her hands and that they all knew from the beginning that putting Jada in Rafe’s job was a huge misstep and now she replaced Jada with Rafe. Paulina complains that she doesn’t need a former district attorney to tell her how to do her job. EJ says he’s merely a concerned citizen. Abe asks what he’s concerned about, pointing out that not long ago his concern nearly ousted Paulina as Mayor. EJ says he just wants to help the good people of Salem, bringing up that he was district attorney and at the time, he was working alongside Rafe. EJ points out that Paulina gave Rafe his job back, so he asks her to give him his back too.
Belle asks “Rafe” what stunt she supposedly pulled on EJ. Arnold responds that she stole his job. Belle denies that and says Paulina offered it to her, so she just accepted it. Arnold talks about Jada orchestrating the whole thing. Belle says that Jada was trying to protect the department from EJ’s corruption while Arnold argues that Jada wanted a district attorney who would look the other way while she did whatever she wanted. Belle questions “Rafe” believing that and asks what is going on.
Gabi can’t imagine what this must be like for Jada since she and Rafe seemed like a great couple until recently. Jada says she’s just thankful that he showed his true colors before they officially got married. Gabi calls it Rafe’s loss and assures Jada that she deserves the best. Jada says Gabi does too and asks how things are going with her and JJ. Gabi responds that’s a very good question.
JJ asks Doug III if Holly was just hanging out at the Horton cabin. Doug III says she was waiting on her boyfriend Tate. JJ asks if he and Tate are friends. Doug III says not exactly and explains that Tate and Holly were meeting for a romantic Valentine’s Day. JJ imagines Doug III is not too happy about that.
Tate and Holly have spaghetti dinner together that Tate made which Holly praises. Tate brings up dessert, but Holly was hoping they could skip dessert and go straight to something else as they begin kissing. Tate comments on Holly being so beautiful. Holly asks if he’s ready. Tate says he is and Holly says the same, so they kiss on to the bed. Tate asks if she’s sure. Holly assures that she’s on the pill and that nothing is going to go wrong as it will be perfect.
Doug III tells JJ that it was just awkward as he basically barged in on their Valentine’s Day plans and then he just made it worse by letting it slip and blurting out that he has feelings for Holly. JJ relates to being in a similar situation a few times before. Doug III asks to get out of this. JJ says it depends on what Holly said. Doug III says she didn’t get a chance to say anything because Tate walked in and he got the hell out of there. Doug III says he knows she’s in a serious relationship and he has no intention of coming between Holly and Tate, but he doesn’t know what to do about these feelings. JJ thinks talking about his feelings to someone other than Holly might help, so he offers an ear any time he needs to talk. Doug III thanks him and says he was glad he was wrong about him which JJ questions. Doug III explains that ever since he got to Salem, he felt like JJ wasn’t too sure about him but repeats that he was glad he was wrong. JJ informs him that he actually wasn’t wrong. JJ admits he feels a little weird telling him but guesses he deserves to know that he’s sort of been keeping his eye on him which Doug III questions. JJ reveals that Jennifer thought he might have been the one who stole Julie’s necklace.
Gabi informs Jada that she actually hasn’t seen much of JJ lately and she’s been meaning to call him but she knows he’s been busy with his new job at the police department so she didn’t want to bother. Jada argues that it’s Valentine’s Day so JJ should make time. Gabi then receives a delivery of flowers at the door which are from JJ. Jada remarks that’s what real boyfriends do. Gabi says she’s sorry but Jada encourages her to be happy as she’s glad that at least one of them is having a good Valentine’s Day.
Paulina tells EJ that he has some nerve. Abe tells EJ that this discussion may seem urgent to him but they can postpone it. Paulina says it’s alright as she already has an answer and tells EJ no way in Hell. EJ questions if she really wants Belle to continue as district attorney when she was hand picked by Jada before her history of law breaking was uncovered. EJ asks what happens when Jada’s case goes to trial and if she really thinks Belle will be prepared to prosecute. Paulina responds that she has complete faith in Belle. EJ points out that she also had complete faith in Jada. Paulina insists that Jada’s case will be thoroughly investigated without bias which EJ laughs at. Paulina says she’s very confident that Belle and Rafe will follow the evidence where it leads. EJ guesses justice will never be served.
Arnold tells Belle that nothing is going on and he just believes the evidence like cops are supposed to do. Belle thinks any cop with sense would know Jada would never do the things that she’s accused of. Belle argues that Jada is a hard worker, really good cop and friend. Arnold argues that she doesn’t know Jada that well and hasn’t seen her go after something she really wanted. Belle repeats that Jada is a hard worker and says maybe she had her eye on the commissioner job a few years ago, but they gave it to Shawn instead. Arnold thinks she was a little more than disappointed. Arnold brings up hearing that Belle and Shawn broke things off, so he just wanted to say sorry as he knows that has to be tough, especially on a day like today. Belle says she hasn’t given it much thought. Arnold guesses she’s playing it tough and tells her there’s no need to hold back, pointing out that Belle is all alone on the most romantic night of the year so there’s no shame in wanting a little masculine comfort. Arnold then grabs Belle and kisses her.
Tate and Holly lay in bed after having sex. Holly tells him that it was everything she dreamed it would be and more. Tate says it was the same for him. Holly knows it took a long time for them to get there, but she’s so happy her first time was with him as it wouldn’t have been the same with anyone else. Tate apologizes and wishes he would’ve waited. Holly says it’s okay as she’s just glad they get to be together in this moment. Tate jokes that it looks like he got there just in time, since when he first walked in, it kind of seemed like Doug III was about to make a move on her.
Doug III questions JJ about Jennifer thinking he stole Julie’s necklace. JJ says a lot of them did and that’s why he asked why he was in jail. JJ assures that he doesn’t think that anymore as he’s seen how he is with Julie and how much he cares about her, so he doesn’t think Doug III is capable of doing something like that to his family. Doug III starts to say there’s something he should tell him but JJ gets a call from Gabi, who says she just got his flowers and she can’t believe he remembered lilies are her favorite. JJ apologizes for being last minute since he just got off work and asks if she wants to go get a drink. Gabi invites him over since she has the place to herself and a bottle of wine. JJ says he’ll be right over as they hang up. Gabi invites Jada to stay but Jada tells her to enjoy her nice romantic Valentine’s evening with JJ. Jada says she has a very early start tomorrow anyway. Gabi tells Jada that Rafe may be her brother and they may not legally be related, but regardless, she’s on her side no matter what happens. Jada thanks her and says it means a lot. Gabi tells her not to be a stranger as they hug.
Abe asks Paulina to let him handle this. Abe then tells EJ that he’s got some nerve showing up here tonight. EJ says he’s terribly sorry to ruin their evening. Abe argues that EJ is pretending this is all about justice when it’s really all about him first, going back to when EJ ran against him for Mayor. EJ accuses Abe of making it all about himself now. Abe responds that he has a very capable wife, but this is his home too and he will take great pleasure in tossing EJ out of it. Abe tells EJ to go. EJ remarks that Paulina knows he’s right about Belle and wishes them a happy Valentine’s Day as he then exits.
Belle pushes Arnold off and asks what the hell he is doing. Arnold asks if he missed something as he thought he was catching a vibe. Belle says not from her. Arnold says he thought since they were both newly single. Belle says that doesn’t give him the right to hit on her. Belle tells “Rafe’ that will never happen again and that they will keep things professional both in and out of the office forever. Belle walks away, wondering what is going on with him.
Holly questions Tate thinking Doug III seemed interested in her. Tate says it’s the vibe he gets off and the way he looks at her, so he thinks has a thing for her. Holly thinks back to Doug III confessing his feelings to her.
Doug III sits back down with the book of poems and imagines Holly returning his feelings. He tells himself to get a grip as she doesn’t feel that way about him.
JJ joins Gabi at her home. JJ apologizes for not being more in touch lately since he knows they’ve both been really busy for the past few weeks, but he doesn’t want her to get the wrong idea that it’s a reflection of how he feels about them at all. Gabi asks how JJ does feel about them. JJ responds that he feels very lucky to be here with her tonight. Gabi says she feels lucky too.
Abe tells Paulina that he’s glad they got rid of their third wheel. Paulina complains that she really hates EJ. Abe asks if she thinks EJ had a point about Belle. Paulina argues that EJ was just trying to save himself, but feels he seemed kind of desperate this time to get his job back. Paulina says EJ fishing around is likely a sign that he’s been up to no good, so the question is what did he do this time.
EJ goes home to the DiMera Mansion while on the phone with Kristen, saying he hopes her mother can handle both Ava and Rafe. EJ says with her history, it doesn’t inspire confidence but they have to come up with a plan because Ava and Rafe can’t stay locked up forever. EJ then hangs up as Belle arrives. EJ wasn’t expecting to see her tonight. Belle complains to EJ about Rafe and calls him a colossal jerk. EJ asks what happened. Belle explains that she was enjoying a drink alone at the bar when “Rafe” came over and without warning, he made a pass at her and kissed her. EJ declares he’s going to kill him.
Jada runs into “Rafe in the hallway. Jada informs him that she’s all cleared out of his house so there is no evidence left of their shared life together and it’s all his now. “Rafe” asks where she’s moving to. Jada says it’s none of his business but Stephanie will be letting her stay on her couch until she finds her own place. Arnold remarks that he has a big comfy bed inside and she’s more than welcome to share it.
Paulina assures Abe that she won’t be giving EJ his job back and making that mistake again. Abe apologizes if he stepped on her toes by telling EJ off. Paulina calls it the best Valentine’s Day gift she could ask for as they kiss.
Belle tells EJ that she doesn’t need him to rush off and fight her battles for her as she handled it. Belle thinks it’s very sweet that EJ wants to stand up for her but he doesn’t have to. EJ points out Belle thinking he’s sweet and says he does want to stand up for her because he cares about her. EJ adds that he also doesn’t like the idea of someone else kissing her on Valentine’s Day as they then kiss.
Jada asks “Rafe” if he’s serious right now and asks if she didn’t make herself clear when she threw her ring at him and slapped him. “Rafe” remarks that he was just trying to give her a place to stay and she doesn’t have to be such a bitch about it. Jada calls him a bigger ass than she realized and declares that she’s sorry she ever met him as she storms off.
Gabi tells JJ that they could order in and watch a movie as they begin kissing.
Tate tells Holly that he’s sorry for bringing it up but Holly says it’s good that they talk about these things. Holly assures that Doug III is just a friend so he has nothing to worry about. Tate says he won’t worry then and says he has good news and bad news. Tate says the good news is that they still have the dessert while the bad news is they should have it now if they want to catch the last ferry home. Holly suggests they skip dessert as they continue kissing.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!
[romantic music]
[sighs] I think, uh– I think I should probably make that dinner I keep promising you before we get too carried away.
Mm-hmm, yeah, that sounds like a good idea. [laughter] And I’ll be right there to help you. I should just change first because this outfit’s a little– you know.
No, no, no, no, no, no, uh-uh, no, no. I promised you that I would make you dinner, and I intend to keep that promise. So don’t even think for a second about trying to help me, OK?
OK. Understood, Chef Black. Second of all?
Second of all, why would we bother putting on more clothes when we’re only gonna be taking them off?
Well, it’s just–
Hey, if you’re feeling self-conscious about only being half-dressed, then… I guess I’ll just have to join you.
Oh. [laughs]
I can’t wait to be with you tonight.
Neither can I. [wistful music]
Hey, Doug. Whatcha reading?
Oh, hey, JJ. Just looking at this song that Grandpa Doug wrote for Julie.
Can I see?
Yeah. Wow, this is–this is great. I can’t believe I’ve never seen this before. Or heard the song, for that matter.
Well, the book I found it in was left behind at the Horton Cabin about a year ago. I went to go get it for Julie, but by the time I got back, she was already in bed. So I figured I’ll just give it to her tomorrow morning.
That’s nice of you to go get it for her, though. Was that your first time over at the Horton Cabin?
Sure was, yeah.
Did you manage to get back before dark? I know things can get a little spooky when you’re up there by yourself.
Well, actually, it wasn’t just me. I also ran into Holly Jonas. [suspenseful sting]
Jada, hi. Sorry, I didn’t realize that you were home. Can I pour you a glass of wine?
Oh, thanks, but I’m good. I’m actually heading out.
Oh. Is this–
Yeah. This is the last of it. [sighs] And then I’ll be officially moved out.
Ooh, Abe, I can’t tell you how glad I am that Chanel is moving back in with Johnny, oh. Not that I was put out by, you know, being her host here, of course, oh, but I’m just so– so happy to see the two of them finally get back on track. Mm. Oh. Oh, Abe, I’m so sorry. Here I am, chattering on about Johnny and Chanel, and I haven’t even taken a moment to check in on you about “Body & Soul.” Oh, I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been to give it up.
Yeah. It was hard. You know I’m always– I will always be proud of the work we did.
Mm.
And it was the right decision.
Well, I must say, if there is one bright side to “Body & Soul” leaving town, it’s that I get to spend some quality time alone with my handsome husband.
[chuckles] Well, you know what? I will drink to that.
Mm-hmm.
Mm. [knock on door] Oh, apparently, I spoke too soon.
All right. [groans] Yeah, OK. [tense music]
Hi, Mom, it’s me. I’m just checking in. I know you’re probably missing Dad today, and trust me, we all are. But I know he’s doing everything he can to get back to us because he misses us, too. Anyway, I just stopped to get a quick drink on my way home from work, and I don’t really know when I’m gonna be home. So if you get this before I see you, just don’t wait up for me, OK? I love you. Bye.
Well, well, well, if it isn’t the new Ms. Salem DA.
[clears throat]
Mind if I join you?
[soft orchestration] announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the “Days of Our Lives.”
[soft dramatic music]
Ah. I needed that.
Tough day?
I tell you, I cannot believe there are so many damn criminals in this town. I mean, give a guy a break. They’re nearly killing me.
You’ve been on the force for years. You’re just now realizing there’s a problematic workload?
Yeah, well, you know, it– listen, a coma, it can really do a number on a guy. And it definitely did a number on me. So it’s just taking a while to get back into the swing of things.
Right.
Yeah, especially after that train wreck that Jada left at the police department, and, you know, after she stole my job. So, yeah, no surprise that I’m feeling a little bit overwhelmed.
You know that Jada didn’t set out to steal your job, right?
Oh. I get it. OK. Team backstabber, huh? Mm-hmm. Well, you know what? It’s no surprise, considering that, uh, you pulled the exact same stunt with EJ.
[scoffs]
Madam Mayor, I, uh, hope I’m not interrupting.
Do you have any idea what day this is?
I do, actually. Happy Valentine’s Day to you both. I hope you’ll accept this as a token of my sincerest apologies for interrupting your evening. However, I thought you might want to discuss this matter privately and in person.
Uh, what matter? [scoffs] What do you want?
I’m here to talk to you about Jada Hunter.
Are you sure you have to move out?
Beyond sure. This is the last place that I want to be right now. No offense.
No, I completely understand. I guess I was just hoping that if Rafe were to come home, the two of you could still–
Work things out? Yeah. You know, if this was a few days ago, I might have agreed with you. But now, every conversation I have with that man, it just gets worse every time. I even returned the engagement ring last night. I mean, “return” is a bit generous. I pretty much tossed it at him.
If you don’t mind my asking, what did he say this time to get you so worked up?
I tried to talk to him about EJ setting me up. And you know what he said? He told me that I should just let it go.
What? He said that?
I know, right? I mean, not only did his feelings for me just magically vanish, he has now allied himself with EJ– EJ DiMera, of all people, a man that he supposedly despises.
I don’t get that.
Yeah. Shawn, he thinks that maybe his coma possibly altered his personality somehow, but I don’t know. Just thinking about this just makes my head hurt.
Jada… I’m so sorry. If there’s anything that I can do…
You know, at this point, to be honest, I just want this–just all of this to be over with. You know, after Bobby, I can’t go through this again. I can’t. So it’s–I think it’s time that I just move on. Get over it. Move on.
Jada Hunter.
What about her?
[clears throat] Put simply, you have a crisis on your hands. Now, we all knew from the very beginning you putting Jada in Rafe’s job was a huge misstep.
Oh, please.
You’ve already had to eat crow and suspend her. And to make matters worse, you replaced her with Rafe Hernandez, the very man you had her replace just a few months earlier.
I do not need a former district attorney to tell me how to do my job.
I’m merely a concerned citizen.
Concerned about what, exactly? You know, not too long ago, your concern nearly ousted Paulina as mayor.
I have no desire to retread that line of events. Believe me. I simply want to help the good people of Salem the best way I know how.
[chuckles] And how’s that?
Well, as you so kindly pointed out, I formerly served this great city as district attorney. And at the time, I was working alongside the current police commissioner, Rafe Hernandez.
So?
So you gave him his job back. How about giving me mine back, too?
What stunt did I supposedly pull on EJ?
Not supposedly. You stole his job.
I did not steal his job. Paulina offered it to me. I just accepted it.
OK, I think you mean Paulina and Jada. And from what I understand, Jada orchestrated the whole thing. You know why?
Yes, because she was trying to protect the department from EJ’s corruption.
No, no, because she wanted a DA that would kowtow to her, one that would look the other way so she could have the free rein to do whatever it was that she wanted.
Oh, come on, Rafe. You don’t really believe that, do you?
Well, you know, all the pieces, they do fit together nicely, wouldn’t you agree?
No. I would not agree. And I don’t think you do either. So why don’t you tell me what is going on?
I can’t imagine what this must be like for you. You and Rafe really seemed like such a great couple up until recently.
It’s fine, honestly. I’m just thankful that he showed me his true colors before we officially got married.
Well, it’s my brother’s loss. You deserve the best. I hope you know that.
Thanks. So do you. [clears throat] Speaking of, how are things going with you and JJ?
[sighs] That is a very good question.
Holly was up there, huh? I suppose she got the key from Maggie. Was she just hanging out, or…
Uh, she was waiting on her boyfriend, Tate Black.
You and Tate friends?
Not exactly. He and Holly were apparently planning to meet at the cabin for some sort of romantic Valentine’s Day rendezvous.
Mm-hmm. Unless I’m imagining things, I’d say you’re not too happy about that, are you?
Mm, that was amazing.
Yeah?
Seriously, I could eat it every day for the rest of my life. What’s it called again?
It’s spaghetti Bolognese.
Ah, very fancy.
I mean, it’s just spaghetti with red sauce, but it is one of my best dishes.
And how many dishes are we talking exactly?
OK, you don’t have to call me out like that.
I’m just wondering. [laughter]
However, I am a little bit out of my comfort zone when it comes to dessert. So I did go with the store-bought option this time. So I hope that’s OK.
Actually, I was kind of hoping we could skip dessert and go straight to something else. [sultry music]
Wow. You look– I don’t even have the words.
Then don’t use any words.
[gentle music]
You are so beautiful.
Finally found those words, huh?
[laughs]
So are you ready?
Yeah. You?
Yeah.
[sultry music]
You sure that you feel safe about this?
Yeah. I’m on the pill.
OK. Great.
Don’t worry, Tate. Nothing’s gonna go wrong. It’s gonna be perfect.
Well, it–it was just awkward, that’s all. I basically barged in on their romantic getaway. And then I made it even worse by–
By what?
Well, we were standing there looking at these romantic poems, and I just– I sort of let it slip that I have feelings for her.
Let it slip?
I basically just blurted it out. Man, it was so embarrassing.
No, hey, don’t sweat it. I’ve–I’ve been in basically the same situation you are right now.
Really?
A few times, actually.
OK, well, then, tell me, how do I get out of this?
Well, it depends. What’d Holly say?
Well, she didn’t really get a chance to say anything, because Tate walked in a minute later, and then I got the hell out of there. And look, I know that she is in a serious relationship, and I have absolutely no intention of getting between her and Tate. But I just– man, I don’t know what to do about these feelings.
Well, I think talking about them with someone other than Holly certainly helps. So anytime you need an ear, just– just let me know.
Well, thanks, man. I appreciate that. You know, I’m glad I was wrong about you.
What do you mean?
Well, ever since I came to Salem, I just– I had this feeling like you weren’t too sure about me.
In what way?
I don’t know, just, like, odd, I guess. But like I said, I’m glad I was wrong.
Actually, you weren’t wrong.
Huh?
I, uh– I feel a little weird telling you this, but I guess you deserve to know. I’ve, uh, sort of been keeping my eye on you.
You have? Why?
Well, to be honest, my mom thought you might have been the one who stole Julie’s necklace. [dramatic music]
I actually haven’t seen very much of JJ recently. I keep meaning to call him, but I know he’s been busy with his new job at Salem PD, and so I doubt he has any free time to spare. And it’s fine.
But it’s Valentine’s Day. It should be on him to make a little time. [knock on door]
Oh.
Hi. I have a delivery for Gabi Hernandez.
That’s me. Oh. [laughs] Aww. Thank you so much.
Have a great day.
Yeah, you too.
Mm. These are lovely. [sniffs] From JJ?
Yeah.
See? That’s what real boyfriends do.
Jada, I’m sorry. I, um–
No, no, no, please, don’t be. You should be happy. And you know what? I am glad that at least one of us is having a good Valentine’s Day.
Oh, you have got some nerve.
EJ, as urgent as this discussion may seem to you, why don’t we postpone it until, oh–
Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, Abraham. It’s all right, all right? I already have an answer for him, and that answer is no way in hell.
Mm, do you really want Belle Black to continue in the position of district attorney, the woman handpicked by Jada Hunter before her history of lawbreaking was uncovered?
Ah–
What– what happens when Jada’s case goes to trial? Do you really think Belle will be prepared to prosecute?
I have complete faith in Belle Black.
Just like you had complete faith in Jada Hunter, right?
Jada Hunter’s case will be investigated thoroughly, intensively, and without bias.
[laughs] OK, OK.
I’m very confident that Belle Black and Rafe, for that matter, they will follow the evidence wherever it leads.
Hmm, so, uh, in other words, justice will never be served. OK. [tense music]
Nothing is going on. I just believe the evidence, that’s all. In fact, isn’t that what cops are supposed to do? Follow evidence?
And their intuition. I mean, I think any other cop with any sense would know that Jada would never do the thing she’s been accused of. I mean, Jada would never break rules to get ahead. She’s not ambitious like that. She’s just a–a hard worker and an honest cop and a really good friend.
Not ambitious? Not–wow, OK. You don’t really know Jada that well. You have never seen her go after something that she really wanted, something that she wouldn’t be denied?
I mean, like I said, she’s a hard worker. And, yeah, maybe she had her eye on the commissioner job a few years ago, but they gave it to Shawn instead.
Uh-huh. Yep. And, uh, how did little Ms. Hunter seem when she didn’t get it?
She was disappointed.
Mm.
Why wouldn’t she be?
OK. Well, I think that she was a little bit more than disappointed.
[scoffs]
Listen, I… you know, I heard that you and Shawn broke things off a few weeks ago, speaking of which, and, uh, I just want to say sorry. I know that’s got to be tough, especially on a day like today.
Suppose so. To be honest, I haven’t given it much thought.
Yeah. OK. You’re playing it tough. It’s good for you. But, you know, there’s no need to hold back on my account. Here you are. You’re all alone on the most romantic night of the year. You know, just– there’s no shame in wanting a little masculine comfort.
[gentle music]
[sighs]
[laughs]
Well, that was–
You don’t have the words?
Actually, I do have the words. That was everything I dreamed it would be, and more.
It was the same for me.
[sighs] God, I know it took a long time for us to get here, but I’m just so happy my first time was with you. It wouldn’t have been the same with anyone else. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to, like, bring up–
Uh, no, no, it’s OK. I’m sorry. I wish I would have waited.
It’s OK. We don’t have to talk about it. I’m just glad we get to be together now, in this moment.
I agree. By the looks of things, I’d say I got here just in time tonight, huh?
What do you mean?
I just– I don’t know. When I first walked in on you and Doug, it just kind of seemed like he was about to make a move on you. [tense music] – Your mom thought I stole Julie’s necklace?
A lot of us did, actually. You remember that’s– that’s why I–
Why you asked me why I was in jail.
Yeah. Look, man, if it makes you feel better, and honestly, I hope it does, I don’t think that anymore. I’ve seen how you are with Julie, how much you care about her. And frankly, I really don’t think you’re capable of doing something like that to your family. Not back then, certainly not now.
JJ, I should probably tell you– [phone ringing]
Hold that thought. Hey.
Hey yourself. I just got your flowers. I can’t believe you remembered that lilies are my favorite.
Of course I remembered. And, hey, I’m so sorry. This is last minute. I just got off work, but would you want to go grab a drink somewhere?
How about here?
Your place?
Well, I kind of have the place to myself, more or less. And I have a bottle of wine with your name on it.
Well, then, how can I refuse? I’ll be right over.
Great. I’ll see you in a bit then. Bye. [soft music]
So he’s coming over?
Is that all right? I know you said you were on your way out, but if you wanted to stay, maybe the three of us could–
It’s fine, Gabi. Really, it’s fine. You and JJ enjoy your nice romantic Valentine’s evening alone. Besides, I have a very early start tomorrow.
Well, in that case, I just wanted to say, you know, Rafe may be my brother, and I know you and I may not legally be related. But regardless of all of that, I’m on your side on this 100%. No matter what happens.
Thank you, Gabi. That means a lot.
And don’t be a stranger, OK?
I won’t. I promise.
Paulina, do you mind if I handle this?
By all means.
EJ… [clears throat] You have some nerve showing up here tonight.
Oh, yes. I am terribly sorry for ruining your evening. How awful of me not to realize that the very fabric of our legal framework ranked lower on the list than, uh, good eating.
See, that’s the issue right there, pretending that this, all this, is about justice and community, when in reality, it’s all about you.
I beg your pardon?
EJ DiMera first, going all the way back to when you ran against me for mayor.
Now who’s the one making it all about themselves?
[scoffs] You know, I have a– I have a very capable wife. But this is my home, too. And I will take great pleasure in tossing you out of it. Now go. [soft dramatic music]
Fine. But self-serving or not, Madam Mayor, you know I’m right about Belle. Happy Valentine’s Day.
What the hell are you doing?
Sorry, what– did I miss something here? I thought I was catching a vibe.
Uh, not from me, you weren’t.
OK, well, all right. I just thought, you know, since I’m newly single, you’re newly single.
[scoffs] Well, that just gives you the right to hit on me like that?
All right, lady, take it easy.
No, you know what? You listen to me. That will never, ever happen again. And you and I will keep things professional between us, both in the office and out of the office, forever. [scoffs] What is going on with him?
You think Doug seemed like he was interested in me? [scoffs]
Yeah. It’s just, like, the vibe he gives off, the way he looks at you, like– just telling you, Holly, I think he has a thing for you.
I hope someone writes you a little inscription in a book like my grandfather did for Julie. “When I first saw you, that’s when I knew the truth. “You are the most beautiful, wonderful thing I’ve ever seen. And that’s all I ever need to know.”
Wow. Talk about big feelings. That’s pretty romantic.
Yeah, it is. And I feel the same way about you. [tender music]
When you came over on Christmas Eve, the moment I saw you, I just– I don’t know how to describe it. My heart skipped a beat.
I had no idea.
I’m such an idiot. I shouldn’t have said anything. You have a boyfriend. Can we just rewind five minutes and pretend that this never happened?
Actually, I don’t think I can, because I feel the same way about you.
Get a grip on it, Williams. She doesn’t feel that way about you. [somber music]
See? Now you get to enjoy them, too. And not only do they look beautiful, mm, but they smell amazing, too.
I smell something a little more. I’m gonna take a wild guess and say coconut.
Good guess.
Yeah?
Yeah. It’s one of our new scents at Gabi Chic. We were testing them out in the office today.
Well, if my vote counts, I’d definitely say it’s a winner. And listen, I’m– I’m sorry I haven’t been more in touch lately. I know we’ve both been really busy the past few weeks. But I, uh, don’t want you to get the wrong idea. It’s not a reflection of how I feel about you, about us. Not at all.
And how do you feel about us?
I feel very, very lucky to be here with you tonight.
I feel lucky, too.
Oh.
Mm.
Mm.
Well, I’m glad we got rid of our third wheel.
Oh, don’t remind me. Oh, lord in heaven. [shudders] Ooh, I really do hate that EJ DiMera. [imitates choking]
Do you think he had a point, though, about Belle?
Oh, of course not. He was just trying to save his own privileged hide, exactly like you said. Although…
Although what?
He really did seem kind of desperate this time, you know, to get the DA job back. I mean, if a man like EJ DiMera is fishing around for power over the prosecution, then it’s likely a sign that he’s been up to no good. Now, the question is, what did he do this time? [tense music]
Well, I just hope that your mother can handle looking after both Ava and Rafe. But given their history, she doesn’t exactly inspire confidence, now, does she? [sighs] But we don’t really have much choice in the matter. Yes, you’re right. I agree. We need to come up with a long-term plan. Those two can’t stay locked up in your family’s summer home forever. [doorbell rings] I’ve got to go. We’ll talk more about this when you get back from work. [sighs] Belle. I wasn’t expecting to see you tonight.
Yes, well, I thought you ought to know that your newfound friend Rafe has one hell of a nerve.
He’s not my friend.
Oh, he is such a colossal jerk.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Calm down. Tell me what happened.
OK. I was at Small Bar, trying to enjoy a drink, alone, when he came over and started badgering me with a bunch of talk about Jada and the mayor. And then he just, like– he leaned in, and without any warning, he just–
What? Tell me.
He made a pass at me. He kissed me.
I’m going to kill him. [tense music]

First of all, cut it out with the Jadacakes crap.
Well, come on. What, you still angry about what happened yesterday?
Second of all, FYI, I am all cleared out of your house. Any shred of evidence of our shared life together has either been moved out, torn up, or thrown out. It’s all yours now.
All mine, huh? Huh. So where exactly are you moving?
Not that it’s any of your business–
Yeah?
But Stephanie is letting me crash on her couch for a few days until I find a place of my own.
All right. Well, you can have a new place right away if you play your cards right.
What?
I got a big comfy bed right inside. You’re more than welcome to share it.
You know, whatever EJ is up to, I’m sure we’ll know soon enough.
Mm. Yeah, well, he and the rest of the people in Salem can rest assured I will not be giving him that DA job back– no way, no how. Oh, I won’t be making that mistake again.
[chuckle] Yeah, you know, sweetheart, I am, um– I’m sorry if I stepped on your toes when I told him off.
Oh, are you kidding? My big bad husband standing up to big bad EJ DiMera? [both chuckle] Well, it’s the best Valentine’s Day gift a girl could ask for.
Oh.
My heart is still beating a mile a minute just thinking about it.
Oh, well, maybe we should have a glass of wine just to calm you down.
Mm-mm! Mm-mm, I don’t want to calm down. I would rather get fired up for my hot husband.
Well, I do think that could be arranged. [chuckles]
[grunts]
Wait, wait, wait. Where are you going?
You said Rafe was at Small Bar, right?
OK, I don’t need you to rush off and fight my battles for me–I handled it.
Look, I’m sorry, Belle, but I’m afraid you don’t understand–
No, I understand just fine. And I think it’s very sweet that you want to stand up for me, but you don’t have to. Not in this instance, anyway.
You think I’m sweet, do you?
I suppose that’s what I said.
[sighs] Well, I mean, you’re certainly right about one thing. I do want to stand up for you, but not because I don’t think you can handle yourself, but because I care about you, Belle.
See? Sweet.
[chuckles] I also don’t like the idea of someone else kissing you on Valentine’s Day.
Oh, no? Who should it be, then?
Oh, well, let me show you.
Are you serious right now? Did I not make myself clear last night when I threw my ring at you and slapped you across the face? Or do you need a reminder?
Hey, I am just trying to help you out by giving you a place to stay, OK? You don’t have to be such a bitch about it.
You know what? You are an even bigger ass than I realized. I am sorry I ever met you.

So?
So what were you thinking? We could, uh, order in, watch a movie, or, uh…
Do this? [tender music]
I’m sorry. That was a stupid thing to bring up.
No, it’s OK. It’s good we talk about these things. And for the record, Doug is just a friend, nothing more. So you don’t have anything to worry about, OK?
OK. Then I won’t worry. All right. I have good news, and I also have bad news. The good news is, uh, we still have that delicious dessert that I bought for us. The bad news is if we want to eat it, we should probably grab it now before we have to catch the last ferry home.
Whew, well, if that’s the case, I say let’s skip the dessert. [both giggle]

[soft music plays] I missed you. Well, let’s help you with that hand, right? Stop the bleeding before it gets worse. Here. You know I had to do this, right? No, I don’t know that. Then know I didn’t want it to affect our friendship. Ridge. What are you doing here? I’m extending congratulations. Right. Is everything good? Silk? Hey! Oh, I’m glad you’re here. I wanted to go over a few things–are you busy? Oh, yeah. Hmm. I’m trying to be. Not really getting much done. Well, can I help? I mean, not that you need it. Honey, what’s wrong? I just feel like a fish out of water. Oh, come on! You’ve got this. You were in this position years ago. I know–it’s just different. It’s really different. Well, I understand it’s a balancing act. I mean, you’re trying to be CEO and at the same time you’re trying to get the company back into the hands of Eric, Ridge, and Steffy. I mean, that’s not an easy feat. And not letting on to anyone in the process. Don’t get me wrong. I’m really happy for Forrester after today’s launch and Ivy and Electra. But… But it’s really weighing on you… taking the CEO position. Isn’t it, sis? Brooke’s energy today is way off. I wouldn’t read too much into her vibe, Zende. Brooke only cares about herself and anyone with the last name Logan. Okay, just to play devil’s advocate, let’s just say Brooke is discovering her conscience. And it would be a good thing, no? Yeah, good. But highly unlikely. But what if she is? Then she should convince Hope that the takeover was wrong. Don’t hold your breath. And what would be the point anyway? Hope has her claws so deep in this takeover, she’s never, ever gonna let go. Hope has everything she’s ever wanted– clout, money, control, a powerful man under her spell. She’s not gonna give up without a fight, and Brooke is not gonna turn her back on her daughter. No. But maybe she can appeal to Hope’s sense of
virtue and decency.
Mom. This is Hope we’re talking about–she’s a traitor. She used Carter to seize control of Forrester and put it in the hands of the Logans. Like, I love your optimism, I really do, but I know Brooke is jumping for joy right now, just like Hope. ZENDE: You’d be surprised. I think Brooke is more bothered than any of us realize. I can’t imagine the stress you’re feeling, having to keep your true intentions from Hope and Carter. It’s your first big launch as CEO. I mean, that had to feel good on some level, right? Yeah. I am proud of all the hard work that you and everybody have put into the launch, especially Ivy and Electra. I mean, their designs were beautiful. Oh. It was so cute to see Will. He was so excited for Electra. I mean, her success, the start of her career. I just wish that she had enjoyed it more. She was pretty subdued. Well, to be honest, everyone was. Except for Hope. I mean, she was ready to celebrate. It’s just…the way that Ridge’s position was taken from him. He deserves to be here. He should be leading the company. And Ridge and I should be together. [somber music plays] What happened here? It’s-it’s nothing, just, um, broken glass.
Why are you here?
Why am I here? In my old office? To look at my stuff. Couch, my rug, my desk– all that stuff belonged to me, my dad, my daughter… before you got into my best friend’s head and had him steal the company for you. [edgy music plays] Hope needs allies, people supporting her new regime. Well, she has Carter and Brooke. Carter, yes. Brooke, though… You really think Brooke is feeling the weight
of this takeover.
I have no doubt. Ha. Yeah. Because Dad dumped her. [laughs] I think it’s a little bit more than that, Steffy. Well, how could she not feel guilty if she cares about Eric and Ridge as much as she claims? Well, Dad’s supposed to be her destiny, her one and only. Instead, she sides against him and goes along with her daughter’s seditious coup. And is awarded with a promotion to CEO. If people only knew how crazy things were behind the scenes… morale could not be lower. Well, we’ll rev it back up once we get control back. And I’ll do anything I can to help. I just hate seeing your family going through this. Yeah, me too. All’s not lost. Silver lining in all of this– you and Dad are back together. Brooke finally showed her true colors, and she’s no longer in Dad’s life. I know you hate that Ridge isn’t here. I mean, I-I feel the same way. It’s just not the same without him. We’ve launched countless lines through the years, and he’s been here for every single one of them except this one. Well, it took a team to make this all happen. Ridge was a part of that. Yes, until he was forced out by Hope and Carter. [sighs] I mean, you are right. I-it is different. I mean, normally, it would be a big celebration. There would be champagne flowing and speeches. But the room was almost silent. I mean, even Carter seemed very reserved. I’m sure he was relieved that it did so well. Yeah, I mean, Hope was definitely ready to party, but no one else was. Aside from maybe my son. I mean, he was pretty pumped, but what else is new? He was happy for his girlfriend.
Mm-hmm.
And she and Ivy
should be thrilled.
Well, they are Forresters, so I’m sure they feel caught in the middle. I mean, that’s understandable. But my gut tells me that this takeover is troubling Carter as much as it is you. I mean, I know you’re worried about Ridge, but… what’s going on with Carter? CARTER: Hope didn’t get in my head. I’m not brainwashed. Carter can think for himself. Why did you come here, Ridge, to pick a fight? Because you should know that Carter still has love for you. He’s got a strange way of showing it. So do you. This has been incredibly difficult for him. And whether your ego will allow you to admit it or not, I know this has been hard for you as well. In spite of what you may believe, we actually never wanted you to leave.
Okay.
CARTER: It’s true. I didn’t want to do any of this without you. Yes. So you and Eric are welcome to return at any time, just like Steffy did. Only you should know that the, uh, power structure will remain intact. Oh. So I would answer to you. [tense music plays] I know Carter as well as anybody– at least I thought I did.
He is hard to read these days.
Yeah, he is. I mean, I just never thought that he would be into this power grab. And the jewelry drop–I mean, that’s a turning point for the company. I would think that he would be more fired up. It’s a huge moment in his career. Yeah. I think it was. But [sighs] this dream of expanding Forrester and the changing of the guard, if that’s what you wanna call it– I mean, Carter’s the one who put this all in motion. With Hope’s help. Whoa! Okay. That’s-that’s new, you saying that. [huffs] Well, she did play a part in it. Well, you’ve been so adamant about her not having any influence over Carter. I mean, are-are you now agreeing with Ridge and Steffy that Hope manipulated him into snagging power for the Logans? She’s not vindictive or calculating. No. Of course not. She thought she was doing what was best–she really did. But you still wish that none of this had taken place. It’s just caused a lot of strain and division. And I understand where Hope and Carter were coming from–I do. It’s just… Ridge didn’t deserve this. He didn’t deserve to have his company taken away from him. Zende promised he and Daphne would check in if anything crazy’s happening at the office.
Like some wild partying?
You heard Zende. The only one who’s celebrating is Hope. That’s just…sad. Clearly, your father’s passion and leadership is sorely missed. I wonder where Dad went. Have you spoken to him? I haven’t. Not since he left. Where could he have gone? Do you think he went to Forrester? Forrester Creations. Our name is all over this building. No one is saying otherwise. So you gotta understand that this is all gonna blow up in your face eventually, right? You say you love this man. Does he…look loved to you? He looks like the guilt is just eating him up from the inside. Because he betrayed his family. Wow. You’re one to talk. Betrayal? Really? When you’ve used and abused my mother for years. It’s like clockwork with you. The minute your ego is bruised, you run straight to Taylor. When someone does something you disagree with,
you throw your little tantrum.
Ridge: Disagree with? Like stealing my company from me? Yeah. I don’t agree with that. And I don’t agree with your mother’s part in this. You know, you should be thanking us, because Forrester Creations became a toxic workplace thanks to you and your daughter.
Oh, we did that?
Yes, you. The man who called me a bitch. The man whose daughter throws around the word slut when we all know her past. So, yes, my mother and I are through with being your scapegoat. You got it all fixed? It’s all working, yeah?
It’s all fine?
Well I’d say the jewelry launch
went exceptionally well.
The jewelry launch had nothing to do with you. You’re running my family’s business. HOPE: Oh, right, there it is. Your family’s business. You love to lord that over us, don’t you? Have you forgotten that we were once a part of that family? I once called you…father. You were married to my mother. How do you think that makes her feel, to have you constantly ignore her contributions when she helped you build this company alongside Stephanie and Eric? Her contributions were never ignored. Does she know that? Do you think she feels valued by you? Or has she just been run down, her self-esteem stolen because you’re too insecure of a man to stand by a powerful woman? You know, I have to thank you, really, for running to Taylor so quickly because it’s going to show my mom who you truly are. So, yes, Forrester Creations has entered a new era, one of fairness and equality, and it is being run by this very capable, talented, kind man. Carter Walton and his first launch was a smashing success, and I know that the fragrance line will be the same. This is the future of Forrester Creations, Ridge. And nothing and no one– not even you– is going to stop it. You don’t wear the crown at all, do you? Ill-gotten gains. [heavy music plays] [mellow instrumentals] You know, your father said that he wanted to clear his head and have some time alone. I’m not sure he’d feel so inclined to go rushing over to Forrester. He hasn’t set foot in the building since the pity-party rebellion. [sighs] He wants to be there so badly, Steffy. He misses the energy, his office. As it stands right now, he would hate going back. It is the Hope and Carter show, and they make sure no one forgets it, Mom. Like, I literally feel ill every time I drive on the property. Mm. Be over soon, sweetheart. Oh, I know. Even if I die trying. I’m not gonna let this continue. Whether the lawyers figure out some kind of technicality, Daphne works her magic, or Carter finally realizes he’s being duped by Hope, I’m not gonna let this continue–I can’t. I have to believe that ultimately Carter will listen to his inner voice. Mom, I am praying you’re right. Well, not just for the company’s sake. Ridge has really felt the loss of that friendship. [sighs] You know he hasn’t seen him since he walked out. Maybe it’s time. Maybe your father can get through to Carter. [softly] Hey. You okay? [exhales] [whispering] We can’t let them ruin what we have. [somber music plays] Ridge.
What are you doing here?
I can’t walk around my own company? What, you gonna have me arrested? What? Just come talk to me. Was that Ridge with Brooke? It’s nice to see you, Ridge. Forrester isn’t the same without you and Eric around here. Well, we’d still be here if it weren’t for your daughter. I understand your frustration. I don’t think you do. Yeah, I do. I mean, this has been hard on me too. The only reason I took the CEO position was to get through to Carter. And I believe that’s what’s happening. Nobody knows that. I’m just trying to keep up the façade around here. But, of course, if you wanna step in and take the position, I would gladly step down. Would you? Yes, I would. [laughs] You think I’m power hungry, I want to cling on to the job? No. No. I just wanna maintain some normalcy around here. Nothing normal about any of this. Well, that’s right. That’s true. There is nothing normal about this. [sighs] Forrester may have changed, but I haven’t. I’m still the same person that you fell in love with, that you supported and that you believed in all these years. I’m still your Logan. I’m just asking you to come home. Just come back to me. Doug III goes to the Horton Cabin and is surprised to find Holly inside.
Sophia thanks Amy again for changing her mind about the adoption. Amy admits that she made a persuasive argument and saw how scared she and Tate were when they thought something was wrong with the baby, so she realized they weren’t just being selfish teenagers. Amy assures that her feelings about this do matter to her, so she will do her best to respect her decision as they hug.
At the hospital, Tate texts Holly that he’s running late but he’s on his way. Tate then sees Johnny and Chanel. Johnny asks what he’s doing there. Tate tells them about Sophia having abdominal pain but it turned out to be nothing serious. They talk about being relieved. Tate mentions Sophia’s mom driving them. Johnny asks about the tension. Interview with Sara Garcia of “The Hunting Party” on NBC by Suzanne 2/14/25
This was fun, but short. It was nice to speak to Sara, whom I interviewed (in a group) 2 years ago for the family drama “Ride” on Hallmark. This new series is quite a different show, about a team of FBI agents that chase down serial killers that have escaped from a high-tech prison. She plays the army tech person that helps the field agents. It sounds a bit far-fetched, but it’s got a wonderful cast and solid action. It seems a little bit like “The Blacklist” crossed with “Criminal Minds,” but it’s got its own original take.
MORE INFO: Official Site Trailer

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!
[suspenseful jazzy music]
[mumbles] I can’t– I believe they wouldn’t let me back on set. Like I was really going to make off with Kassanndra’s duvet cover. I have standards. When you get pink slipped, you stick to office supplies. [stolen supplies clatter]
[knock at door] [gasps] The cops.
It was not an admission of guilt. Those are all from the gift shop downstairs.
The gift shop? Did you buy me something?
Uh, sure. How do you feel about a high-end stapler? Boy, am I glad to see you.
[sighs] Well, I know you had a rough day, so I just wanted to stop by and give you a kiss.
Well, I’m not going to say no to that. [tender music]
Happy Valentine’s Day.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you.
[Steve sighs]
[chuckles] Happy Valentine’s Day, sweetness. And happy anniversary.
I cannot believe that you let me think that you forgot.
I wanted to surprise you, baby.
Surprise me?
Yeah.
This is more like a trick.
Oh, OK. Yeah. And I know you were mad. But you did say you forgive me.
Mm, mm, mm. No, no, no, no, no. I said I guess I could forgive you. [Steve scoffs] which means that I am still miffed. And I’m not really, really quite there yet.
OK. I get it.
Mm-hmm. So I think that you have to figure out how you’re going to make it up to me.
[sighs] Right.
Mm-hmm. And how are you going to do that? [suspenseful jazzy music]
I’m not telling.
Oh. [Steve chuckles] Another surprise, huh?
[chuckling] Yes.
You always just love keeping me in suspense. Don’t you?
I do. [Kayla inhales deeply]
I wouldn’t want you to change anything.
[sighs] Don’t make that face. [sighs] [tense cymbal roll] [suspenseful music]
Holly?
Doug? Uh– [Holly gasps]
Mrs. Choi is finally on board with us putting the baby up for adoption. So all we have to do is find the right couple. [soft tender music]
Maybe you just did.
Wait. I’m sorry. What are you talking about?
We’re talking about us. What if Johnny and I adopted your baby?
[soft orchestration] announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the “Days of Our Lives.”
[tender music]
Are you–are you serious?
Well, we’ve been talking about having a baby. We actually just came from an appointment with Aunt Kayla.
Yeah, and she said that it’s pretty risky for me to get pregnant right now for both me and the baby.
So sorry.
Yeah. Thanks. It was kind of a blow. But Johnny and I were just sitting here talking about how we both really want to be parents.
And discussing our options.
And then you showed up and you’re looking for someone to adopt your baby.
And it kind of just feels like it’s meant to be, you know?
Doug, what are you doing here?
Julie asked me to run an errand for her. I-I didn’t expect you to be here. [Holly sighs] But you obviously weren’t expecting me either.
Yeah, well, it’s Valentine’s Day. Tate was going to make me dinner. He was supposed to be here, like, an hour ago.
Ah. Well, it looks like you have quite the night planned.
[scoffs] This? No, I–I was just trying it on. I–
Oh, no, no. I didn’t mean–
I was going to take it off before he even got here, so–
I just– I just meant that, uh… you look nice. [soft dramatic music]
Well, this was very, very sweet.
Well, I figured that you need a palate cleanser from your crummy day before we head out. [Leo gasps]
I forgot to make dinner reservations for tonight. With, you know, with all the work drama.
Hey, that is totally OK. You just lost your dream job. You get a lot of leeway right now.
Oh, yeah?
Mm-hmm.
How much leeway?
One month anger, one month self-pity. But then by Memorial Day weekend, I’m going to need you back because we have that trip to Provincetown, remember?
Yeah, all right. It’s a deal. I did plan ahead and I got you something, though.
[snaps fingers] Oh, no, no, no, no, no. You first. [Leo chuckles] It is just a little something that we sell at Gabi Chic.
All right. Let’s see.
“If you don’t have anything nice to say, come sit by me.”
I saw it and I thought of you.
It’s right on the money. And it’s so thoughtful. Thank you.
Well, it goes both ways. Whatever you’re feeling, you come sit by me and share it.
You’re not going to go running for the hills?
I am not going anywhere. [tender music] [soft dramatic music]
There. What do you think?
It’s perfect. If I do say so myself.
[chuckles] Well, I hope I was half as successful with your little gifty.
From Saxton’s?
Mm-hmm.
Leo, this is gorgeous.
Well, I have exquisite taste.
Well, thank you. But this must have cost a fortune.
[sighs] I was making head writer money at the time.
Well, let’s return it.
For store credit? No. No. I wanted to do something nice for you while I could.
I’m sorry. I can’t believe that the network didn’t bring you along when they picked the show up.
Yeah. It’s their loss, though. I am choosing to view this as a positive for me. My future is wide open. Even if dinner reservations are not.
Hey, that is totally OK. I wouldn’t mind just ordering room service and turning on the TV and seeing who wins.
Oh, yes, yes. The “Drag Race” semi-finals, of course. You know, I know it’s a holiday and all, but I was worried about not watching them live.
“Drag Race”? No, no. [laughing] I’m talking about the big game. [suspenseful jazzy music]
What big game?
Uh, you said you were helping Julie run an errand? Is there anything I can help you find or–
Right. So I can get out of your hair.
I did not say that.
You didn’t have to. [Holly chuckles softly] As soon as I find this book, I’ll be on my way.
Which book are you looking for?
A book that my grandfather gave to Julie for Valentine’s Day one year. She thinks she left it here last April during that blizzard.
Mm. Yeah, I remember. That was nuts. Well, feel free to look around.
Sweet. Thanks. And that didn’t take long at all. Here it is.
Let me guess. A book of love poems.
Ding-ding.
[chuckling] Seriously? I was joking. Wow, that’s really sweet.
Yeah. Julie said my grandfather wrote a song just for her and stuck it inside this book.
[sighs] Aw. They were something else. God, I hope I’m that head over heels in love when I’m their age.
I know. Way everyone tells it, my grandfather was a hopeless romantic. [Holly chuckles] [soft dramatic music] Guess we have that in common.
Wow. You’re right, it does kind of seem like it is meant to be. Are you two sure about this?
Yeah. I mean, it makes sense, right? Like, you could tell Mrs. Choi that the baby’s going to stay in the family since you and I are cousins.
Yeah. Or are we coming on too strong? Or, you know, maybe this is a little too close for comfort for you two. Or, I don’t know, maybe you have somebody else already in mind.
No, no, no, no, no, no. Sophia and I have searched high and low for a couple that her mom would approve of. And we’ve had no luck.
Has she already shot down a few people?
Not exactly, but her family’s religious, so that’s definitely a factor. We thought this couple from her mom’s church was on board, but they backed out.
So she won’t let anyone adopt the baby who isn’t a part of her church or doesn’t practice the same faith as her?
I don’t exactly know what her parameters are, but the only way we could convince her to let the baby be put up for adoption was if it was by a couple with good Christian values.
Hmm. Good Christian values, huh? [soft tense music]
[imitates flying sound] Thank you.
I hope you don’t mind, baby. It’s not very fancy.
Mind? Are you kidding me? This is my favorite thing in the whole world.
Yeah?
Being with the man of my dreams with a big glass of wine. It’s heaven.
You’re heaven.
Mm, yeah? [Steve smooches] Oh, are you crazy? Is that my favorite brie?
Yeah. The one that’s always sold out.
Have I not taught you anything? You always lead with the brie.
Oh, OK. [Kayla sighs] Well, you can thank Stephanie, too, because she helped me track it down for tonight.
Oh. [somber music]
What’s the matter, baby?
Mm. Just reminds me of what my mother used to always say. You’re only as happy as your least happy child. I mean, Stephanie should be out having a special night with a guy on her Valentine’s Day, not helping her parents wine and dine each other.
Well, how do you know she’s not?
Well, I mean, I do know that there was something brewing with her and Alex Kiriakis again. And I didn’t want to pry. But she did say that they were having trouble trying to make it work.
Well, I suggest you should pry more often because it’s the only way we can get our kids to tell us anything.
[scoffs] What do you mean?
Stephanie told me that she and Alex worked it out. As a matter of fact, they’re having dinner tonight.
Hmm. Hmm. [soft jazzy music playing]
Sorry to keep you waiting.
Mm. Well, you are worth the wait.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
Color me shocked, but I had no idea there was a big game, let alone one that you’d be interested in watching.
It’s the Longhorns game. Sorry, sometimes I forget that I’m not in Texas anymore. [Javi chuckles]
Is that football?
If it were Thanksgiving, maybe. [laughs] It’s basketball season. My dad and I used to watch every Longhorns game. You didn’t grow up watching sports?
Not if I could help it. But if I had to, I was way more interested in the cheerleaders. No, no, no. I’m totally gold star. I just cared more about the choreography than the actual games.
See, I actually did care about the games, especially during March Madness. My father and I used to fill out our own brackets and then we place bets to see who can beat each other. And if I won, I’d get 10 bucks. And then if I’d lose, I’d have to, you know, clean out the garage. [both chuckle]
How did that shake out?
The garage was spotless. [laughter] But I didn’t care. Watching the games with my dad, hearing him yell at the TV, I felt close to him. [sentimental music] Which is why I was worried telling him that I was gay and it would change everything, which is why I waited as long as I could.
And what did he say when you told him?
He said, that’s nice, son, but you still have to clean the garage. [laughter]
My god, it must have been such a relief.
It was. And nothing changed between us. When I told my mom, that was a whole other story. Nothing was ever the same between us again. [somber music]
A first date on Valentine’s Day?
Well, I wouldn’t exactly call it a first date. But yeah, looks like they might be diving right into the deep end.
Well, you know what? I’m really happy for Stephanie. I mean, I know how worried she was that it couldn’t work out with Alex because of Joy Wesley.
Well, apparently he was finally able to end things with her.
Well, I’m sorry for her. But after everything that Alex and Stephanie have been through, I think they need a second chance. Wouldn’t you agree?
Listen. I’m happy she’s happy. But Alex? Look, I know I sound old-school, but he’s a notorious player.
I have heard that he has mellowed over the years.
I just don’t want to see her get hurt again.
I know. Listen, I would be lying if I said that I am completely on board with the two of them getting back together. But they’re young. And how do you grow older and wiser if you don’t make some mistakes?
Yeah, well considering all the times we foolishly broke up… I guess we must be really wise.
[chuckling] Right. Oh, yeah, our wisdom is infinite. No, I’m just saying that look at us. We overcame our issues. And it made us stronger and better, right? I just hope the same thing happens for them.
Just wait. [tender music]
Mm.
Ah.
Montrachet.
A ’93.
[gasps] Is that a good year?
Oh, a very good year, according to my mother.
Ooh. [soft jazzy music playing] [glasses clink]
Mm.
Mm?
That is incredible. I mean, but then again, I’d be happy with 2 Buck Chuck. I’m not much of a wine expert.
I wouldn’t say I’m an expert either, but my mother did insist that I learn about all of the best French vintages. One summer as a kid, she took me all over the country. We must have hit every single vineyard this place has to offer. It was like a field trip.
Well, I hope not a grade-school trip.
Mm. High school, technically. But they’re a little bit more permissive there. Although I know my father wouldn’t have been thrilled.
Oh, wow. Where did Justin think that you and your mom were going all over France?
Euro Disney.
[laughs] No.
Mm-hmm. Yep, he said, just make sure you take him to the Louvre. That’s it. You take him to the Louvre is what he said. You make sure he gets his culture.
Wow. Well, you certainly got that.
I did, yeah. So we went to the Louvre, obviously.
Mm-hmm.
Then we hit all the best restaurants. My mother, she would order these six-course tasting menus.
Wow. Not a bad way to spend vacation.
Yeah. Beat getting a lifeguard job, that’s for sure. [both chuckle] I think my mother just– she viewed it as her duty as a parent to show me the finer things in life. Although, time to time, I do wish she had a little bit more of a conventional approach to her parenting.
But there were upsides, too.
Mm.
And I’m not just talking about how this wine didn’t come out of a box. Without her, you wouldn’t be who you are today.
Mm, I guess– I guess not.
We wouldn’t be here together. So for that, I’m grateful. I’m grateful for her, too.
Me, too. [glasses clink]
Listen, I still have to talk to Sophia. Can we get back to you two?
Yeah. No, yeah, of course. Do you need a ride somewhere?
No, no, no. I’m all set. I was supposed to meet Holly at the Horton cabin over an hour ago.
Oh. Big plans for Valentine’s Day?
You know, something like that. [Chanel laughs] But thank you so much. I mean, this could be really, really amazing. Not just for me and Sophia, but for you two and the baby. You two would be really great parents. [soft dramatic music]
Thanks, Tate. That means a lot.
I’m sorry that I have to rush out. The cell service at the cabin sucks and Holly’s probably wondering where I am. And I just hate the idea of her sitting there all alone. [suspenseful music]
Any good ones in there?
They’re all pretty romantic. And earnest. It’s pretty amazing that someone can write about how deeply in love they are and not feel self-conscious about it.
Yeah. Well, maybe that’s why people write poems. They put into words the things they can’t say in real life.
Yeah. Maybe.
Do you have a favorite?
Yeah, this one stood out to me. “Ode on a Grecian Urn.”
“Beauty is truth, truth, beauty. That is all ye know on Earth and all ye need to know.”
Wow. [Holly chuckles] So you’re not some poetry novice.
It’s just one of my favorites. [soft upbeat music]
Then I hope someone writes you a little inscription in a book like my grandfather did for Julie.
[peaceful music] [whistle blows on TV]
Now, why did that just happen?
The ref is calling a penalty ’cause the other team was traveling.
Right. That’s bad?
[chuckles] Yes, that’s bad.
You know, rules aside, I get why you like this game. Bunch of sweaty men running up and down the court wearing those cute, little shorts. Maybe next Valentine’s Day, I’ll get you a pair of those. [tender music] You know, not to jump ahead to next year. I know that this is new.
Sounds like a plan.
I’d better start thinking about what to get you next year, too.
Mm. This brie is so good. [both chuckle] I can’t stop eating it. You know, don’t even bother ordering dinner.
I’m not. It’s a text from Tripp.
Oh. Something wrong?
No, he’s just wondering if I’ve heard anything more about his mother.
Still no word on Ava, huh?
Well, not since she told Brady that she was going to Hong Kong. She left him a voicemail right after that. I sent that out to have it analyzed. Might be a dead end. [somber music]
You know, do you think maybe it’s possible that she just wanted to extract herself from Kristen and Brady’s drama?
And use Wendy and Tripp as an excuse? Yeah, I’ve considered that. But that would be the best-case scenario. Worst case, something is really wrong. So I need to get to the bottom of it for Tripp.
Course you do. Because you are a good dad.
You know I’d do anything for my kids.
Yeah, I do.
So that was kind of, um… [chuckles] Unreal.
Yeah. I mean, we went to the hospital hoping I could get pregnant, and we came home possibly adopting a baby.
Yeah, listen, I, um, I hope it was OK that I suggested that to Tate. I just–when we both looked at each other, it felt like we were… absolutely on the same page.
Oh, yes. Yes, we were, 100%. But I think we kind of just blurted it out. And now that the adrenaline is starting to wear off, um, I’m wondering, should we really do this? Should we really adopt Tate and Sophia’s baby? [soft dramatic music]
Doug, I–
I’m sorry. I–I can’t believe I just said that.
Yeah, I can’t believe it either.
When you came over on Christmas Eve, the moment I saw you, I just– I don’t know how to describe it. My heart just skipped a beat.
I had no idea.
I’m such an idiot. Oh, man. I shouldn’t have said anything. You have a boyfriend. Can we just please rewind five minutes and just act like that never happened?
Actually… I don’t think I can.
Oh, I’m so, so sorry I’m late. But you are never going to guess who– I just ran into. Unexpectedly. [tense music]
Tate, you’re here.
Yeah, sure am. So’s Doug. [soft tense music]
Uh, Doug didn’t know we had plans today.
No, I, uh, I didn’t mean to crash. Julie just asked me to come pick up this book for her. And now that I have it, I should probably get going and let you guys enjoy the rest of your Valentine’s Day. So I’m going to take off. And you guys have fun. [Tate sighs]
Are you OK?
What? Yeah. No–uh, yeah. I just was spooked, like, twice today when you came in. And then when Doug came in, I practically jumped out of my skin. Anyway, what took you so long? Was the grocery store, like, packed or what?
Yeah, it was actually my second time there today, after I went to the hospital. Sophia had a little bit of a scare.
Oh, my god. Is she OK?
Yeah, everything’s fine. But that’s not the only good news. I might have found the perfect couple to adopt the baby. [tender music]
Is this about Tate and me, you know, being related? Because if that’s too weird, I totally get it.
No, no, no, no. It’s not about that. OK? If the baby were Tate’s or some random stranger’s, I would love any child that we brought home. And I know you would, too.
Yeah? So what do you think? [Chanel sighs]
It’s just that I’m worried that we may be setting ourselves up for another big disappointment. You know, if, you know, what Tate is saying about Mrs. Choi is true, then she seems very intense. And I don’t know. Would she really be willing to cut all ties with his baby, or is she going to be looking over our shoulders for the rest of our lives?
Yeah. Yeah, I mean, that certainly could complicate things.
And that’s ifshe even approves of us. I mean, she would want us to have good Christian values.
And?
Well, I’m just– I’m wondering, do we have those? [soft jazzy music playing]
What?
Nothing.
I just think it’s funny you went with the burger at a place that’s known for its filet.
Oh. Well, they’re also known for their burger.
Mm.
They make it with three kinds of cheese.
Mm?
You’d know that. If you weren’t so snobby.
Me? Snobby?
You spent your summers wine-tasting.
Ah.
In French vineyards.
Touché. [Stephanie chuckles]
You know, your mother’s not the only one who cultured their kids.
Mm.
My mom taught me how to make a great burger.
Dr. Johnson, a burger expert?
Mm. She is a Brady, after all.
Mm.
But don’t get her started on chowder.
Mm.
She’ll never admit any are as good as my Uncle Roman’s. [Alex chuckles]
So does that make you a gastropub connoisseur too?
Eh.
Eh?
I, uh, I had to catch up on a lot of family lore when I moved to Salem.
Mm, right. I keep forgetting that you didn’t grow up here either.
Mm-mm. No, my mom raised me in LA.
Mm.
She was working a lot. So she didn’t exactly take me on tours of wineries.
Mm-hmm.
Like you were doing. But, uh, we did go to Magic Mountain a bunch, though.
Nice. I’ve never been.
[gasps] And you claim to know the finer things in life?
Mm.
Oh, my god. We used to go once a month.
Wow.
Yeah, she would tell her colleagues not to page her unless it was an absolute emergency. And she was very clear about what constituted one.
Mm. [soft jazzy music playing]
It was us against the world.
Was it hard? Growing up without your dad? [soft dramatic music]
Hmm.
My mom went out of her way to make sure I knew how loved I was. And how much my dad was loving me from afar. Growing up, I– I always felt like he was watching out for me. [chuckles softly] It was nice.
But of course, nothing compares to having him in my life for real. And to be here with the whole family in Salem.
[sighs] Still, I, um… I wouldn’t change a thing about how I grew up, either.
That’s because those experiences made you who you are.
Exactly.
Exactly. I’m grateful that your journey brought you here too.
Ah, so much for the wine. [Steve chuckles]
There’s a bottle of white in the fridge.
You always come prepared, don’t you?
Mm.
Mm.
Oh, but wait a minute. Before we open the wine, I got something for you.
[gasps] You didn’t.
Mm-hmm.
You didn’t get me a gift, did you? After all this?
Sure I did, baby.
Well, good, because I got you a gift, too.
Oh.
Yup-up-up-pew! together: Happy anniversary! [Kayla chuckles]
No way. Did you?
Did you?
We’re so simpatico.
[chuckling] Oh, baby, come on. Yeah, swap. Wow.
Wow. [crowd cheering on TV]
Why’d they just pass to him? There’s like a million guys guarding him! – Tira la pelota! Come on! Yes! Yes! Yes! Shoot it! Shoot it! Shoot it! Yes! Yes!
Ah! We just took the lead!
We?
Yeah, “we.” Got a problem with that? [tender music]
Not in the slightest.
God, that was sexy.
Oh, you still thinking about all those men in shorts?
No, dum-dum. I’m talking about you. Seeing this side of you, feeling very, very close to you right now.
[soft dramatic music]
Mm, I think the game is back on.
What game? How about… we play a little one-on-one instead?
[Steve chuckles]
Oh, my goodness! Two tickets to Chicago Cubs opening day.
Can you believe it? My wife got me the same thing. [both chuckle]
Well, doesn’t she know you well?
Oh, she does. I love you.
I love you.
Mm.
Lucky.
Hey.
Hmm?
So what are we going to do with the two extra tickets?
Well, we could ask Stephanie and Alex to go with us.
OK. Now let’s celebrate.
Mm.
[soft jazzy music playing]
That looks amazing.
Really?
Mm-hmm.
Because this place is really known for their crème brûlée.
Oh, my god. [laughs]
Don’t let me hold you up. Take a bite.
No, no. After you.
[gasps] So chivalry isn’t dead.
Mm-mm.
Mm, how about we both take a bite at the same time on the count of three? Ready?
Ready.
One…
Two…
Three.
Mm-hmm.
Mm. Oh, my god.
What? [Alex chuckles]
Got a little–
Oh. Did I get it?
Not quite. [Stephanie chuckles] Here.
Much better.
Mm. [Stephanie laughs]
Look, no offense to Mrs. Choi, OK? But I don’t think sharing the same faith as her automatically makes somebody a better parent.
I know, I know. But it’s important to her. And she seems to be the one with the deciding vote.
Well, didn’t you grow up going to church every Sunday with your mom?
Yeah, I did. And I still go with her from time to time. Well, on Easter Sunday at least. [Johnny chuckles]
Well, that’s one point in our favor.
Yeah. [sighs] You know, I mean, I try to be kind to everyone and help the less fortunate. And so even if we’re not practicing one particular faith, I mean, we’re still good people, right?
Look, Chanel. I happen to think you are a very good person, maybe even the best person. All right? And whatever happens with Sophia’s mother, we will deal with it, all right? Together. I love you, Chanel.
I love you, too, John. [tender music]
I tried to give them every option to back out, but they’re serious. Johnny and Chanel want to adopt the baby.
Wow. [chuckles softly] I mean, are you sure it’s not going to be weird for you and Sophia still being that close to the kid?
No, no. We’ll make it work. Especially if they’re the best option for Mrs. Choi.
Yeah. Yeah, I guess.
Hey, I know what you’re thinking. But even if the baby stays in Salem, Sophia and I won’t be its parents anymore. So we’re not going to be bound together forever. You would be my priority. And our relationship with Sophia or anyone else, it’s not going to come between us again. [soft dramatic music]
Hey, Julie. I found the book. [somber music]
I’m such an idiot. Oh, man. I shouldn’t have said anything. You have a boyfriend. Can we just please rewind five minutes and just act like that never happened?
Actually, I don’t think I can.
Well, that would be really amazing if it all works out.
Yeah, I hope it does. [Tate inhales deeply] I don’t want to think about the baby anymore tonight. This night is supposed to be about us. Happy Valentine’s Day, Holly.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Tate.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!
Elizabeth presented Anna with evidence implicating Cyrus in multiple deaths, prompting Anna to consider obtaining a warrant for his arrest. Meanwhile, Cyrus prepared syringes filled with Digitalis and learned that Elizabeth was at home. At the police station, Sasha kissed Jason to support their fabricated story about him being her baby’s father, a gesture witnessed by Mac, who was visibly upset.
