Ned: Well, I just wanted to follow up with you about the plan to merge ELQ and Aurora.

Esme: My tentacles? Wow, Joss. At least my claws would have been sharp, but tentacles?

Josslyn: They’re slimy.

Trina: And they suck.

Esme: I know you guys don’t believe this, but I do have feelings.

Trina: Oh, we know.

Josslyn: Jealousy, possessiveness. Now get lost. And next time you think about talking to my boyfriend, don’t. Because you have one of your own.

Esme: Cam, do you want me to go? See? Cam can make his own decisions. So you’re just gonna have to get over the fact that Cam and Spence are on my side.

Nina: I didn’t want this fight, Ava, but now that I’m in it, I’m gonna come out guns blazing and Carly’s gonna hope to God that she’s not in the line of fire.

Carly: How is it that you manage to see yourself as the victim in situations that you’ve caused?

Nina: You, Michael, and Willow backed me into a corner about Wiley. I had no choice but to fight.

Carly: You always have choices, and you always make the wrong ones.

Nina: I did everything I could to avoid a court battle. Carly, Michael and Willow forced my hand. And what is this smear campaign that you’re doing about me in the press?

Carly: Oh, what about the feature isn’t true? I mean, if anything is even a little inaccurate, I’ll ask them to retract it myself. And you? She forced you into labor and then she stole your baby. How is it you’re friends now?

Ava: People change.

Nina: All I asked, ever, was a little time with my grandson. Not even a lot. And if you just took five seconds to stop and think about it, Carly, you’d see that we want the same thing.

Carly: Yeah? What’s that?

Willow: How messed up is it that I’m so sad about Harmony? I don’t even know how I wound up with her, if I was stolen, if…my birth parents gave me away. All I know is that Harmony carted me around all over the country from commune to ashram to cult. [ Scoffs ] And now I’m sad that she’s gone?

Michael: I mean, hey, she’s the only mother you ever knew. Of course you’re gonna be sad.

Willow: [ Sighs ] And now I have to go to the PCPD and provide a DNA sample so they can verify Harmony’s motive for killing Neil Byrne and his brother. It is… [ Exhales sharply ] It’s too much.

Michael: Okay, just don’t — don’t worry about the DNA test, okay? I-I can run interference.

Willow: You sure?

Michael: Yeah. I mean, if the — the brother-to-brother appeal with Dante doesn’t work, then there’s always Diane.

[ Knock on door ]

Michael: Hey, Alexis. What brings you by?

Alexis: Hey, I can certainly understand why this might not be a good time, but I was hoping to speak to Willow… about Harmony.

Cameron: I-I’m not choosing sides here, but if I did, I’d have to side with Joss and Trina.

Trina: Not choosing a side is the same as backing the bad guy.

Esme: Why would I confess to something that I didn’t do?

Josslyn: See? You haven’t changed. As for feelings, the only ones you have are for yourself.

Esme: Whatever, Joss. Your issues with me say way more about you than they ever will about me.

Trina: 50% deflection, 50% deception, and 100% shady.

Esme: You two enjoy feeling superior. Thanks for comforting me, Cam. It’s nice to know someone around here still has a heart.

Josslyn: What the hell was that?

Cameron: It’s not what it looks like.

Josslyn: Oh, and — and now you’re texting someone.

Cameron: Look, just give me a second and I’ll explain.

Josslyn: Cameron! Who at this moment could you possibly be texting that is more important than me and Trina?

Carly: You say that like you didn’t cause any of it?

Carly: Boy, that’s your favorite word.

Nina: And I’ve hurt a lot of people because, Carly, I was hurting.

Carly: And let me guess — this is where you blame me again?

Nina: No. I understand that… Willow and Michael, they make their own decisions, but they really respect your opinion.

Ava: You know, it’s, uh — it’s getting late, so I’m gonna run. Uh, unless…you ladies need a referee?

Nina: No, we’ll be fine.

Carly: Goodbye, Ava.

Nina: Carly. Sit with me. Please.

Carly: I only have a minute. I’m here to check on Phyllis. I want to see how she’s doing since the robbery.

Nina: I assume you heard that from Sonny.

Carly: No. I have my own sources. But if you’re wondering if I talk to Sonny, the answer’s yes.

Michael: Um, you know, there’s some things I got to take care of at the house, so I’ll leave you to it.

Willow: So…

Alexis: I am just now realizing I only planned what I was going to say through the introduction. So now we’re past that.

Willow: Okay, then. I’ll start.

Alexis: Oh, please.

Willow: Turns out Harmony was… capable of terrible things. But that’s not all she was. And for the time you had a friendship, I choose to believe that it was real. And I’m… glad she had you.

Alexis: I was grateful to have her as a friend, too. She came along when I really needed one. The tragedy is that she knew how to fake being a good person so well.

Willow: Well, I can’t believe it was all fake.

Alexis: I guess we’ll never know. Seems neither of us really knew her, did we?

Trina: Like super in denial weird. And by weird, I mean, like…

Josslyn: Esme made a sex tape of us and shared it with the world.

Trina: And I may be going to prison for it.

Josslyn: And you’re over here, like la, la, la, giving Spencer his job back?

Cameron: That was a business decision.

Josslyn: Hugging Esme? Was that a business decision?

Cameron: I didn’t hug her. She hugged me.

Josslyn: Cam, that is the second time I have seen her with her arms wrapped around you. Learn how to dodge.

Cameron: What do you want me to do? Do you want me to leap out of the way or slide across the counter?

Josslyn: Why are you making excuses to comfort her?

Trina: Okay, guys, we need to chill out.

Josslyn: Why?

Trina: Because! Arguing like this, this is what Esme wants.

Josslyn: She probably saw us heading over here and then ran like crazy to beat us just so we could walk in on her hugging Cam.

Trina: Okay, Cam, please help us understand. [ Sighs ] I get why you gave Spencer back his job, but…

Josslyn: I don’t.

Trina: …But why are you supporting someone who ruined all of our lives, yours included?

Cameron: I’m just… I’m trying to do the right thing.

Josslyn: No. The right thing would be to stay as far away from Esme and Spencer as possible.

Trina: I gotta go.

Josslyn: You do?

Trina: Yeah. Homework.

Josslyn: Okay. Before you go…

Trina: Thanks. Remember — play nice. Listen to each other. Don’t let Esme win.

Cameron: I won’t.

Josslyn: Did you see that? Why would you hurt Trina that way?

Drew: Sorry to keep you waiting. Not a problem. I’m on my way to meet Sam. We’re gonna discuss Scout’s summer schedule.

Ned: Oh, so you have to rush out? I do, but I’m hoping to put your mind at ease first.

Ned: Well, I think you know what my concerns are.

Drew: I believe I do, Ned, and like I said, my ELQ shares are gonna revert back to me very soon. Valentin will no longer have majority, but he’s still gonna own a lot of shares, so our position is in order to protect us from future takeovers, the best possible situation is for Aurora and ELQ to merge. That way Valentin’s remaining shares will be even more diluted.

Ned: And what will the leadership structure be in this new company?

Drew: Yeah. I really think that we should wait for Michael to talk about this.

Michael: Here I am. Talk about what? You two think merging ELQ and Aurora is the best strategy to keep ELQ in the family. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, if that merger goes through… I’m out in the cold.

Nina: Carly, I know that you and Sonny will always be in each other’s lives, but Sonny is not who we need to talk about right now.

Carly: You got that right.

Nina: How’s Willow?

Carly: She’s grieving… and heartbroken.

Nina: Yeah. Please send her my condolences.

Carly: No. Don’t do that. Don’t pretend to be concerned about Willow when you were just ranting about how she’s the one who forced you to fight with my family.

Nina: I’m concerned about Wiley, and Willow is Wiley’s mother. So in turn, I’m concerned about Willow.

Carly: Yeah, well, fortunately, Wiley’s too young to understand what’s going on.

Nina: Yeah. But did they tell him that his grandmother died? That grandma Harmony is gone?

Carly: When and if they tell him, that will be up to Willow and Michael.

Nina: No, I understand it’s up to Willow and Michael, Carly, but you don’t want that little boy to feel like he was abandoned by his grandmother. I don’t think it’s fair to keep this from him.

Carly: Are you kidding me? Wiley is too young to process that kind of information. Kind of like when you told him that Willow wasn’t his real mommy. How you hand someone that kind of information can do more harm than good.

Nina: Well, lies can do harm, too.

Carly: Boy, yours sure did, huh?

Nina: Alright, Carly [Clears throat] Whether Wiley knows about his grandmother dying or not, you know, he lost her. She is no longer in his life. Is it really fair for this little boy to lose another grandmother, too?

Carly: You’re not doing this for Wiley. You’re doing this for yourself because you can’t see past your own selfishness to do what’s best for him.

Josslyn: Trina is about to be tried for a felony, one that Esme set her up for, blowing up all of our lives in the process. It is us versus her.

Cameron: Look, Joss, the last thing that I want to do is hurt either you or Trina.

Josslyn: Then what are you doing comforting the enemy?

Cameron: Look, I told you. It’s not like that.

Josslyn: I don’t care who hugged who… but, Cam, you cannot give Esme a literal shoulder to cry on knowing who she is and what she’s done.

Cameron: Okay, look. She came in here looking for Spencer. When I told her that he wasn’t here, she got all upset. What was I supposed to do?

Josslyn: Walk away. Let her wallow in the misery that she’s created.

Cameron: Look, I know what Esme has done, alright? But I’m sorry, Joss. I-I can’t be that heartless. I’m not wired like that.

Josslyn: Unlike me?

Ava: So, come on. Tell me what’s going on. You said it’s important.

Trina: Well… I just saw Esme at Kelly’s… …crying crocodile tears on Cameron’s shoulder, and he was actually comforting her.

Ava: After everything that little demon has done to you? How dare he?

Trina: Well, he did say she just threw herself in his arms and he just froze.

Ava: Uh-huh. Still, though, it’s a major violation of your friendship. I hope you let him have it.

Trina: But that’s what Esme would want, right? To — to drive a wedge between the three of us?

Ava: Yeah. You’re smart. That’s a good point.

Trina: I mean, it just hurt me so much to see Cam and Esme like that. I could never tell him not to be nice to someone.

Ava: Why not? This is Esme we’re talking about. Why should anybody be nice to her?

Trina: It’s just that every time I see her, it’s like she’s just rubbing it in my face that she’s ruining my life and getting away with it.

Ava: What do you mean every time? H-how often do you see her?

Trina: I mean, she just came here the other night to see Spencer.

Ava: [ Scoffs ] So, Spencer is having little rendezvous with his girlfriend in my gallery when he’s supposed to be making restitution?

Trina: Oh, no. He was definitely surprised to see her. But don’t worry. I kicked her out.

Ava: [ Laughs ] Yeah, you did! Good for you. And as for Cameron, you have every right to feel betrayed.

Trina: Thanks, Ava. You’ve had my back through all of this, and I really appreciate it.

Ava: Of course!

Trina: That’s why I needed to meet. I need your help.

Michael: We’re keeping all of our options open in regards to leadership. Everything — everything’s in the early stages still.

Ned: Realistically, how much would this merger actually dilute Valentin’s shares? Aurora and ELQ are hardly on the same scale.

Drew: Okay, well, we’re in the process of bulking up Aurora so that it will be as much of a merger of equals as possible, Ned.

Ned: Oh. It seems as though the two of you have given this a lot of thought for something that’s still in the early stages.

Drew: I mean, since we both run Aurora, we’ve had the opportunity to discuss this a little bit more, that’s all.

Ned: So I shouldn’t read anything into the fact that I wasn’t a part of any of these discussions?

Willow: Michael started to suspect something was up when there was no record of my birth certificate. When Harmony miraculously obtained a copy… I didn’t ask questions.

Alexis: When you lost your copy, Harmony came to me for help.

Willow: Wait. Does this mean… you’ve known she wasn’t my mother?

Alexis: I have.

Willow: For how long?

Alexis: I…

Willow: No, no. You know what? It — it’s okay. It didn’t matter.

Alexis: E-except it does. You must be so angry. I-I should have said something.

Willow: Well, no, of — of course I’m — I’m angry, but as for you telling me, it wasn’t your place. That was Harmony’s responsibility.

Alexis: I tried to get her to, but she was afraid to lose you. She told me a woman on the commune in Colorado named Joan gave birth to you and then disappeared. And the leader gave you to Harmony for her and your father to raise. They were so worried that Joan would come back for you, they left the commune.

Willow: And do you think any of that story is true?

Nina: I love Wiley, and I deserve to be in his life.

Carly: Loving someone doesn’t entitle you to anything.

Nina: Well, he’s my family. And despite your best effort to discredit me, the judge is gonna see the truth.

Phyllis: Carly. Nina. What a lovely surprise to see you both… together.

Carly: Nina and I are done. I actually I came here to see you.

Phyllis: Then why don’t you join me at the bar while I tend to some business? Nina, will you be sticking around?

Nina: Um…I just — I just need a minute. Excuse me.

Carly: I honestly didn’t come here to get into it with Nina. Okay?

Phyllis: Oh, I believe it. Then what does bring you by?

Carly: You know, it’s been a few weeks since the attempted robbery. I just wanted to check on you, see how you were doing.

Phyllis: Oh, I’m doing well. It’s kind of you to take an interest. Just so you know, you’re always welcome here.

Carly: Thank you. And I don’t…expect you to choose between me and Nina. I mean, I know you’re always gonna protect her.

Phyllis: Well, that’s an instinct that never goes away. Nina was pregnant, in a coma. When someone is as helpless as she was… it’s hard not to care.

Carly: And you got roped into Madeline’s lies… lies that set Nina on a path to destruction.

Trina: Proving my innocence in court isn’t gonna cut it anymore. I need to prove that Esme did this… and make her pay for it.

Ava: I’m in. What can I do?

Trina: Well, Esme is obviously a master schemer. I mean, she blows up your car and now she’s living with you.

Ava: Mm. Don’t remind me.

Trina: When it comes to scheming, I’m clearly out of my depth. But you, on the other hand, are not. In fact, you’re the only person I know that can out-scheme Esme. No offense.

Ava: Eh. None taken. In fact, I’m flattered by your faith in me.

Trina: So tell me — what should I do?

Spencer: Esme? What’s up?

Esme: What are you doing, going through my personal things?

Spencer: I was looking for my sunglasses.

Esme: In a shoe box?!

Spencer: While I was searching, I saw that box, and I thought that it was strange that you had kept shoes that were so out of season.

Esme: You think you know me so well.

Spencer: Don’t I?!

Esme: So, what were you doing? H-h-hoping to borrow dated heels?!

Spencer: I saw the letters… from your nanny Maggie. You told me that you lost contact with her. So why is there an entire box full of her letters?

Cameron: Joss, you’re not heartless. You have one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know. It’s just that you can really hold a grudge.

Josslyn: Only when people deserve it. Like Esme.

Cameron: I’m angry at Esme, too.

Josslyn: Really? Because you seem to be in a very forgiving place with her.

Cameron: Look. I haven’t forgiven Esme for anything. It’s just that… your anger is very fierce, but it’s also proactive. You can’t look at Esme without wanting to start a fight.

Josslyn: My friends and my family are the most important things in the world to me. So when someone hurts them, I can’t just forgive them. Is that so wrong?

Cameron: No. I-I-I think it’s great.

Josslyn: You do?

Cameron: Your ride-or-die loyalty is one of the things I love most about you. And I-I like to think that I’m just that loyal. I just don’t express it in the same way.

Drew: I give you my word, Ned. Michael and my proximity at Aurora is the only reason we’ve had these discussions at all.

Michael: Yeah. Look, when — when it comes time to discuss leadership, you will be informed.

Ned: Informed? Look, Michael, up until a few days ago, I was under the assumption that when we got ELQ back from Valentin that I would be the CEO.

Michael: Yes. Yes, I know.

Ned: So if I’m to have a commensurate position in this new company, I feel like I should be a part of all the discussions.

Michael: I agree, and — and we’ll make sure that you are. It’s just… it’s not that simple.

Alexis: As time went on, Harmony’s story didn’t hold up. Then Brendon showed up in town… and you know the rest.

Willow: There’s still so much we’re not sure about.

Alexis: When Harmony first confided in me, I encouraged her to tell you the truth several times.

Willow: Why didn’t she?

Alexis: S-she was worried you would never forgive her. And if she was willing to kill to keep it a secret, well, suffice it to say, your relationship meant a lot to her.

Willow: I’ve been… leaving room in my mind for the possibility that… none of this is true, that… Harmony had some kind of [Inhales sharply] Break with reality, but… now hearing you talk about how much trouble she went through to hide the truth, it’s — it’s really sinking in. Harmony was lying to me my whole life. I feel like I’ve lost my mother twice. Not to mention my father. Oh, my god. My father. I wonder if he knew what Harmony did.

Phyllis: Madeline kept a lot of secrets. I wish I’d been more discerning.

Carly: Well, I’m sure it brought Nina some comfort knowing that you were there when her baby was welcomed into the world.

Phyllis: Actually, I wasn’t at the birth.

Carly: Oh. I thought you were —

Phyllis: By the time I got to work, the baby had already been born. That’s when Madeline gave the baby to me… to send me to deliver her to her adoptive parents.

Carly: Oh. So you weren’t there when Nelle was born. Do you know who was?

Phyllis: No, I don’t. Why do you ask?

Carly: Nina is petitioning to visit Wiley, so, you know, uh, Nelle’s been on my mind lately.

Phyllis: I didn’t realize it at the time, but there was a huge inheritance at stake. That’s why Madeline gave Nina’s baby away and tried to make sure she couldn’t be traced.

Carly: Well, seems like you’re the only person who knew what was going on because Madeline roped you into it.

Phyllis: The one silver lining is that Nina did eventually find out the truth, even if it was too late.

Carly: Yeah. She blames me for that every chance she gets.

Phyllis: I know better than to try and sway you, but just so you know, I’m rooting for Nina to be able to know her grandson.

Carly: I figured.

Phyllis: Excuse me. Are you alright?

Nina: Yeah, I’m fine. It’s just — I think I’m gonna [Sniffles] I’m gonna go home. It’s gonna be a rough few days, and I… I need to get my head on straight.

Drew: I’m not sure that we can offer you a position commensurate to CEO.

Ned: I see.

Michael: Look, when this merger happens —

Drew: if it even happens.

Michael: Yes. Close to 50% of the company’s assets will be media-based, and that’s not something ELQ has ever had much of a stake in.

[ Cellphone beeps ]

Drew: Look, Ned, we’ve got plenty of time to work this out. All the details, okay? I’m so sorry. I really do have to get going.

Ned: Of course. Yeah. We’ll talk later.

Drew: Hey, trust me. You’re gonna be happy.

Michael: I can tell you’re, uh… pretty uneasy about all this.

Ned: What was your first clue? Michael… can I be honest with you?

Michael: Yeah, of course.

Ned: I have sacrificed a lot for this company. You and I have worked very hard together to regain control of ELQ from Valentin. And now we’re about to get ELQ back, and I feel like I’m being put out to pasture. So just tell me the truth. Am I?

Josslyn: I love everything about you, Cam, and I am so lucky to have you as a boyfriend, and I’m so lucky that you’re such a nice person. But Esme uses nice people, like with that hug.

Cameron: I-I just don’t think that she ran all the way here just so you could catch her.

Josslyn: Okay, maybe not. But the way that she touched your shoulder before leaving, that’s her way of telling me, “Joss, your boyfriend doesn’t mind when I touch him, and there’s nothing that you can do about it.”

Cameron: That’s just not how I see it.

Josslyn: Okay, well, how about Trina’s face before she left? Is being nice to Esme worth that?

Cameron: I just think given some time, Trina will understand where I’m coming from.

Ava: Now, you know your mother would have my head if she knew I was advising you like this.

Trina: If it was about anyone else, maybe. But since it’s Esme, I’m sure she’ll look the other way.

Ava: Mm. I hope so. You know, I do have one idea, but I don’t think you’re gonna like it.

Trina: Try me.

Ava: Well, Esme is a jealous, possessive psychopath. And Spencer — I mean, the one good thing about Spencer is that he knows what a wonderful person you are. I mean, he basically threw her over.

Trina: Except he didn’t. Not really.

Ava: Eh, except he did. That’s why Esme went after you. So take advantage of that jealousy. Goad her into making a mistake and trap her.

Trina: So you’re saying I should make a play for Spencer?

Ava: I mean, nothing overt. Just when you know that Esme is there and she can see a little sigh here and a little tear there, and a “oh, no, nothing’s wrong.” Before you know it, Spencer’s arms will be around you and — and hers will be around his throat.

Trina: [ Sighs ] No. Spencer is back with Esme. He’s not gonna respond to me flirting with him.

Ava: Spencer loves your attention! He will fall for it. And it’ll push Esme just far enough over the edge that she’ll lash out and incriminate herself.

Trina: It’s tempting.

Ava: But?

Trina: [ Chuckles ] I don’t think I can take it that far.

Ava: Hey, Trina, not to put too fine a point on it, but you’re in serious trouble here. I mean, don’t you want to do whatever you can to avoid a trial?

Trina: There is something that could help. Something… that I’ve been keeping to myself. But before I tell you what it is, this is a last resort.

Ava: Understood. What is it?

Esme: I kept all of Maggie’s old letters. Congratulations, Spence. You’ve uncovered my deep, dark secret. I’m sentimental. But please don’t tell anybody! I beg of you!

Spencer: Who would believe me?

Esme: Okay, your turn. Why are you in my room violating my privacy when you’re supposed to be on a grocery run for Kelly’s?

Spencer: I blow off work all the time. You, on the other hand, told me that you lost touch with Maggie long before you met me. But that letter directly indicates otherwise.

Esme: Oh, my god. So I reached out to Maggie a couple of times over the years. Why am I the one being interrogated when you’re the one who’s going through my stuff? I thought we were rebuilding our relationship.

Spencer: Esme, we are.

Esme: Really? Because it feels like you still don’t trust me.

Spencer: I feel like it’s the other way around.

Esme: Wait, what?

Spencer: Well, it’s just that lately I’ve been feeling like you don’t trust me.

Esme: Of course I trust you! Though you’re giving me plenty of reasons not to.

Spencer: Such as?

Esme: Going through my things. When you found that box, exactly what did you think you’d find inside?

Spencer: Esme, honestly, I don’t know what I was looking for. I just feel that I don’t know you as well as I thought. And I wanted to find out what I didn’t know.

Esme: Why not just ask me? I mean, we used to talk about everything. If we’re gonna get bach to what we had, then we need to be honest about everything. Completely transparent.

Spencer: I agree. Why don’t we start with this? [ Clears throat ] Why did Maggie write, “No good from you having contact with your father?”

Trina: If I use what I know, there’ll be collateral damage. I don’t want anyone getting hurt except Esme.

Ava: So this secret weapon…it could set you free?

Trina: It’s not a slam dunk, but it might be my best shot. And I’ll use it if I have to. I’d just rather not.

Ava: So you don’t want to flirt with Spencer, and you don’t want to use this ace in the hole because somebody else might get hurt.

Trina: Yeah.

Ava: Hmm

Trina: [ Sighs ] I may be an even worse schemer than I thought.

Ava: Hmm. You’re pretty terrible at it. But you know what? I’m proud of you for that.

Josslyn: It’s just… this is about our different approaches to conflict, right?

Ned: I sense a “but.”

Michael: Look, objectively, this merger is the best option to ensure that our family maintains control of ELQ again.

TJ: To find grandpa and bring him back?

Carly: I cost Nina her daughter? Have you forgotten your big plan to pass Sasha off as Nina’s daughter? Have you forgotten how hurt she was? Hell, I almost felt sorry for Nina at the time.

Valentin: I’ve never claimed to be perfect.

Carly: And you were the one who met with Nina’s mother, right? If you would have told Nina the truth at the start, I’m sure your search would have led to Nelle. In my opinion, I think it was a gift. You spared Nina the nightmare of trying to be a mother to Nelle, who was broken and dangerous. But I doubt Nina feels that way. So, if you ask me, if anyone’s responsible for costing Nina a relationship with her daughter, it’s you.

Cameron: Now that you’ve learned how to bus tables, where are we with Esme? Have you dug anything up?

Spencer: You know, these things, they have to be finessed. It takes time.

Cameron: Look. I have been covering for you and lying to Joss. I need to know that the hell that I’ve been catching is worth it. I mean, is this plan to exonerate Trina even working?

Spencer: As much as I wish I could say yes, I… I haven’t found anything yet. I haven’t — I haven’t uncovered anything about Esme.

Cameron: And I thought you were the master of stealth. You used to be good at sneaking around.

Spencer: I know, I know. But Esme is brilliant at covering her tracks. Even her secrets have secrets.

Terry: How was your trip back?

Chet: Are you as nervous as I am?

Terry: Oh. [ Laughs ] You first.

Chet: After you. Okay. Is this how it’s gonna be like all night?

Terry: We did better texting. Maybe we should pull out our phones?

Chet: Well, then we’d be looking down all evening. I wouldn’t be able to look into those beautiful eyes.

Terry: [ Chuckles ]

Chet: Was that cheesy?

Terry: But effective.

Valentin: Carly, it would be nice if we didn’t have to litigate the past.

Carly: Great. But you started it.

Valentin: I am just suggesting it would benefit everyone if you and Nina were to set aside your differences.

Carly: “Differences.” Is that what we’re calling it?

Valentin: I’m not defending the choices that Nina’s made. I am simply appealing to your compassionate side.

Carly: What makes you think that I would have one ounce of compassion for Nina?

Valentin: Because you have everything Nina’s ever wanted.

Carly: Really? Last I checked, she has my husband.

Ava: I have nothing against you playing hardball where your grandson is concerned. But you’re gonna go after Willow? Now? Didn’t her mom just die?

Nina: Yeah, um, I don’t mean to sound callous. I really don’t. What I meant by that was I’m just ready to fight. I don’t have a choice. Willow and Michael, they shot at me first.

Ava: Oh, so, was that first shot the feature in the invader or the charges in Pennsylvania?

Nina: [ Stammers ] How do you know about the feature?

Ava: Well, that reporter — the Smoltz? Smeltz? Wha– he reached out to me for comment.

Nina: Why would he reach out to you about my petition for visitation with Wiley?

Ava: Oh, no, Nina. No, it wasn’t about Wiley. It was about Avery… and how she was born.

Cameron: I mean, Esme’s good at covering her tracks? Couldn’t see that one coming. Duh.

Spencer: Nice. How’d you get into college with such a rudimentary vocabulary?

Cameron: How do you function with such lackluster critical-thinking skills? Maybe I was wrong to trust you that you can handle Esme. You’ve been in over your head this entire time.

Spencer: Not always. Just recently. I’ve been trying to get her to trust me so that she’ll confess, but I don’t think that I’m giving her everything that she wants.

Cameron: What more could she want?

Spencer: Intimacy.

Cameron: Wait. So you’re saying “Mr. I’m gonna give you sex advice that I don’t want” —

Spencer: Yes, bro. That’s what I’m saying. My girlfriend wants to have sex with me, and I’m running out of ways to avoid it.

Esme: “Spencer seems to be good for you. Don’t let him go. I’m also relieved to hear that you aren’t pursuing a relationship with your biological father.”

[ Boxes thumping ]

Esme: “You are smart and industrious. Use those gifts for good, Esme. Continue to focus on school and Spencer. Most of all, be happy. Love, Maggie.” Don’t worry, Maggie. I intend to be happy.

Josslyn: Trina, enjoying the view of Officer Invisible?

Trina: Officer Cabrera.

Josslyn: Right. I wonder what he’s doing here.

Trina: Um… probably just taking a yoga class. I-I mean, he was obviously here before us.

Josslyn: Hmm. Okay, well, you know, I just want to make sure that you’re comfortable, you know, being around him and everything. The police, they’re still investigating and they’re trying to prove that you did something you didn’t do.

Trina: [ Scoffs ] No. Officer Cabrera’s not like that.

Josslyn: Yeah, I guess. I mean, he seemed okay that day at the courthouse. Not so much when arresting Cameron.

Trina: And Spencer.

Josslyn: Oh, he can arrest Spencer any day of the week and twice on Sundays. I just want to make sure that he’s not harassing you.

Trina: No, he isn’t. I mean, I nearly pepper-sprayed him at the gallery, but he was cool about it.

Josslyn: What?

Trina: I mean, he told me the reason why he arrested Cam is because Commissioner Ashford wants everything by the book. And because he’s a rookie. I guess he…overcompensated.

Josslyn: I guess. And Cam did completely lose his head with Spencer.

Trina: Don’t act like you didn’t love when your man came to your defense.

Josslyn: Okay. It was hot.

[ Both chuckle ]

Trina: TMI.

Josslyn: But it looks like I’m not the only one who recognizes hotness. Looks like Officer Cabrera is not so invisible anymore.

Curtis: I have no plans to go after Marshall. The man wants to be gone. That’s his prerogative.

TJ: You can’t mean that.

Curtis: I can. And I do. Why would I go against his wishes?

TJ: Well, you didn’t have any problems going against his wishes before.

Curtis: Okay. Sound like you have something you want to say.

TJ: You know I respect you, Uncle Curtis, and I realize that he’s your father, not mine.

Curtis: TJ, okay. If you’re gonna go in on me about the methods I used, Portia already did and so did your mom.

TJ: No, it’s not only your methods. It’s the fact that since — since — since Marshall let it be known who he was, you have called all the shots. You even asked me to steer clear, and at first, I complied.

Curtis: Just trying to protect my family.

TJ: You have always been the head of this family, and I respect that. But now that you know the truth, was it worth losing the one chance you had with your father?

Terry: Your trip sounded like a success.

Chet: Yeah, it was. We were able to do a lot of good for the vets.

Terry: Was it hard going back?

Chet: At first. Working with the wounded veterans always brings me right into that place — in pain, uncertain of the future. But one of the guys came up to me and told me that seeing me thrive after my injuries, it showed him what was possible. So because of guys like him, I keep going back.

Terry: That’s incredible. How affirming.

Chet: Yeah. For them and for me. I’m not gonna lie. They’ll have to clear some hurdles, have to believe in themselves, not give up, and do the work. But they can clear those hurdles.

Terry: Like you have.

Chet: Yeah, well, it’s still not that easy. In fact… can I make a confession?

Cameron: So, you’re saying that you and Esme have not had sex since Spring Ridge?

Spencer: I’ve been trying to string her along, but I don’t want to have sex with her, especially not after she framed and betrayed my best friends.

Cameron: Dude.

Spencer: But I can’t get her to open up. I don’t know. It must be the lack of sex, right?

Cameron: You think?! I mean, the way you guys were all over each other before? Did you at least search her stuff?

Spencer: I’ve been trying to, but she’s always around. At first, it was because she was hiding from Uncle Sonny, but now she basically times leaving the house with whenever I’m going to work or the gallery. I mean, I can’t shake her. If I’m — if I’m sneezing, Esme’s there to say, “gesundheit.”

Cameron: Well, then, we’re out of options. If you can’t search her belongings and she won’t confess, that only leaves one choice.

Spencer: Don’t say it, dude.

Cameron: You have to tell Joss and Trina the truth.

Rory: How’s it going? You guys here for the next class? I was in the previous one, but I wanted to stretch out a little more.

Josslyn: We came early. We were hoping that you would come say hi.

Rory: Is it safe or are you armed again?

Josslyn: Just with good looks, intelligence, and charm. Trina is the full package.

Trina: I-I didn’t know you were into yoga. Or are you here on an assignment?

Rory: Uh, off duty, ma’am. It’s my day off. In fact, I spent the afternoon at The Chuck.

Trina: Oh. Having lunch on the front steps or…?

Rory: Uh, no, I actually went inside this time.

Trina: Hm! I rented one of those audio guides, but it wasn’t as good as the Jerome Gallery. I couldn’t ask questions.

Josslyn: Oh, well, next time, ask Trina. She is an expert.

Trina: Hardly an expert. I mean, Officer Cabrera couldn’t even really seek out my opinion on art, not while I’m facing a trial.

Josslyn: Why not? He’s not your arresting officer. Okay. Um, I’m gonna just — I’m gonna put our bags away.

Trina: I’m — I’m sorry about that.

Rory: Oh. Don’t be. Your friend’s right.

Valentin: Even if we were to put Sonny in Nina’s column of assets, look at everything she doesn’t have. She doesn’t have children. She has no relationship with her grandchild. She has a few friends, but nothing like the roots in the community that you have. Even her office space is at your mercy.

Carly: I’m happy to let Nina out of her lease at Crimson. I’m sure she can afford the penalty. She has no problem coming up with the money to buy herself out of all of her legal difficulties. And she has defenders like you who trip over themselves running to her rescue every time she chips a fingernail. Nina’s no victim!

Valentin: Carly, Nina has been exploited by almost everyone who has ever claimed to care for her. And before you say anything, yes, I’m including myself on that list. The least I can do is come to her defense.

Carly: Who hasn’t been exploited?

Valentin: I get that. And I’m not minimizing what has happened to you. But you’re strong. And you have a huge heart. Can you really tell me there’s no part of you that… feels for Nina?

Nina: Don’t know why that reporter would dredge all that up again. T-this is Michael, Willow, and Carly’s doing. Do you see now what I am dealing with?

Ava: In all fairness, Nina… it is public record. Everything you did. The forced labor… kidnapping Avery, taking her to Canada.

Nina: Please. I was a different person.

Ava: Yeah, that’s right. You were. I’m just warning you that Diane Miller is definitely gonna bring it up in court and that the judge will likely find it kind of pertinent.

Nina: Yeah, I was just — I w-wasn’t in my right mind. Um… I’ve worked a lot on myself, you know? So what did you tell the reporter?

Ava: Nothing. I didn’t tell him anything. I’m not gonna talk. The only time I’m gonna talk is in court if I’m called to testify on your behalf.

Nina: Thank you. Yeah, because Wiley lost a grandmother last night. He can’t lose another one.

Ava: What about Wiley’s grandfather? Is Sonny still hands-off?

Nina: Yeah, I made it very clear to Scott that he is not to question Sonny on the stand.

Ava: Well, that’s not really what I meant. The last time we talked, you said that you were trying to resist temptation when it comes to Sonny. So how’s that going?

Carly: Nina’s been hurt badly? So what? Many of us have endured trauma. Carrying on isn’t a miracle. It’s called life.

Valentin: And you are fortunate. You have multiple safety nets. You have your mother, your brother, your children, your friends. Nina really only has three people that she can count on. She’s got Phyllis. She’s got Wiley —

Carly: Sonny.

Valentin: That is a relationship that is very important to her.

Carly: Right. Who Sonny chooses to love is his business. It’s not Wiley’s job to be Nina’s emotional support.

Valentin: Phyllis is highly protective of Nina. Do you really think that she would give her that loyalty if Nina didn’t deserve it?

Carly: Phyllis nursed Nina when she was in a coma and pregnant, right? Was Phyllis there when Nina gave birth?

Valentin: Why on earth would you need to know that?

Nina: There’s nothing going on with me and Sonny.

Ava: Nothing? Nothing at all?

Nina: We danced.

Ava: Is that a euphemism?

Nina: Would you st– why is your mind always in the gutter?

Ava: I know. I can’t help it. I’m just being coy. And tell me, are you and Sonny an item or what?

Nina: Mnh! Hey, Amy. How you doing?

Amy: Oh, hi. I’m terrible, thanks. And you?

Nina: Oh. I’m sorry to hear about that.

Amy: All I wanted was a day off. Is that a crime?

Ava: I’m not sure we’re the ones to arbitrate what constitutes a crime.

Nina: Well, I hope the rest of your day goes better, and you just let me know if there’s anything I can do, okay?

Amy: I’m so glad you asked.

Chet: On valentine’s day, I knew you hadn’t clocked my prosthetic legs, and I should have told you that evening, but I chose not to because we were having such a nice time. Instead, I chose to tell you through text, which was nerve-racking and a bit dishonest.

Terry: I didn’t feel it was dishonest. Why didn’t you tell me that night? Did you think I’d be turned off?

Chet: It’s happened before.

Terry: I’m sorry some people are like that. I wasn’t turned off. If anything, I was in awe of your bravery. And I understand why you’d want to hold back disclosing deeply personal matters at first. After all, we barely knew each other’s names. We didn’t know we’d keep in touch like we have or form any kind of… relationship.

Chet: Were you nervous when you told me?

Terry: Terrified. That’s how I knew I really liked you. I’ve worked hard to be proud of who I am and the many challenges I’ve navigated to live my truth, truly be who I’m meant to be. But I have to admit, I would have been devastated if you decided dating a trans woman was a deal breaker.

Chet: Missing out on you would have been my loss.

Terry: And mine, if I had rejected you because you don’t have the legs you were born with.

Chet: Well, I know our situations aren’t the same. I don’t have to worry about violence against me or actual laws being passed to curtail my rights. But I do worry about not being seen.

Terry: It’s everything, right? All people want is to be seen for their individual inherent beauty and dignity.

Chet: And be accepted.

Terry: And loved. If it’s in the cards.

Rory: If you would have been with me at the chuck, I might have understood what I was looking at.

Trina: Well, first of all, I told you, art is subjective. And, secondly, that’s what docents are for.

Rory: And, third of all, I have no idea what a docent is.

Trina: [ Chuckles ]

Rory: Um, but you were partially right before. As an officer, I’m not allowed to socialize with anyone who’s the subject of an active investigation.

Trina: Well, then maybe you shouldn’t be talking to me in public.

Rory: Well, there’s no rule against me bumping into you, which is what happened. Besides, when you beat those charges…

Trina: If I beat them.

Rory: You will.

Cameron: Sometimes it takes a village to bring down a lying snake. Trina and Joss can help us.

Spencer: No offense, but your girlfriend’s a hothead. She can’t stand Esme.

Cameron: Neither can anyone else.

Spencer: Okay, but my point is that if Esme pushes the right buttons, Joss is gonna come out swinging and blow everything up. Look, I know I can do this. I just need more time.

Cameron: We don’t have time. Okay? With each passing day, Trina’s trial date comes closer, and without another suspect, the worse it’ll look for her.

Spencer: Hey, no one wants to help Trina more than me.

Cameron: There’s got to be a loose end out there. Somewhere there’s physical evidence linking Esme to the crime and incriminates her. You just have to find it.

Spencer: When? Esme and I are always together.

Cameron: I don’t see her now.

Spencer: She went to a yoga class. Trust that in about an hour she’s gonna walk through that door just in time for me to finish my shift.

Cameron: Well, then go. I will stall Esme.

Curtis: It’s true — Marshall suddenly appearing into my life, it, um, raised a lot of feelings.

TJ: And I can understand that. But going against his wishes and investigating his past, that didn’t only affect you.

Curtis: T, I had to investigate. I had to know if he was bringing danger to you, to Aunt Stella, to Portia, to all the people I love.

TJ: So you actively investigate until you find something?

Curtis: I had to know.

TJ: Okay. And now that you do know… what did it cost you? Was it worth it? Because it wasn’t worth it to me. I was just getting to know my grandfather, and he left town without saying a word to me.

Curtis: Well, goodbyes aren’t his strong suit.

TJ: Marshall had his faults, but he was making an effort. He was making an effort with you. He was making an effort with me… Epiphany, Stella, even Portia and Trina.

Curtis: I know.

TJ: So I, for one, I’m gonna miss him.

Curtis: I know.

TJ: And I know you didn’t talk to me about it, but did you consult with Stella before investigating his past?

Curtis: Aunt Stella found out that I was digging into Marshall’s past, and she asked me to leave it alone.

TJ: Uncle, I wish you would have listened to stella because now we have all lost our contact with him.

Curtis: But, T, you don’t get it. This was Marshall’s choice.

TJ: No, no. You made a unilateral decision to protect us without our buy-in. That is your choice, and now we just — we just have to live with it.

Terry: Tell me about your job at the gym.

Chet: Well, it’s not saving lives like you are, but it’s pretty cool watching people come in and work on themselves, getting stronger, surpassing expectations.

Terry: Must be so gratifying helping people achieve their personal goal.

Chet: It is.

Terry: [ Chuckles ]

Chet: It’s also a constant reminder for me to keep setting my own.

Terry: What’s your biggest goal?

Chet: Right now, it’s impressing you. How am I doing?

Ava: It does seem like a bit of an overreach.

Amy: Or how to store patient files?

Nina: Well, that part seems to be in her purview.

Amy: I’m sick of it. She’s singling me out. I deserve respect, too.

Nina: Yes! Well, how would Man Landers advise?

Amy: [ Laughing ] Oh, my god. I haven’t given professional advice in years.

Nina: No, but, Amy, you still have the insight, wisdom, and wit. Come on. What would Man Landers advise two women who were having friction at work?

Amy: I’d start by telling the innocent woman to get a drink. The stronger, the better. [ Chuckles ]

Ava: Nice try. But at least the woman she’s at odds with is at work. I wonder what Man Landers would advise when the conflict is at home.

Nina: Uh-oh. I have a feeling you’re speaking about yourself. What other woman do you have friction with?

Ava: Oh, she’s not a woman. No, no, no. This is a treacherous teenaged she-devil.

Rory: My saying that you’ll beat those charges doesn’t undermine my objectivity as an officer of the law.

Trina: Of course not, Officer Cabrera.

Trina: I thought that was only if I called you.

Trina: Oh, my God. Could you be more obvious?

Josslyn: I was just speeding things along. It’s pretty clear that you guys are into each other.

Trina: The guy’s a cop, Joss. He’s friendly. But that’s as far as it goes.

Josslyn: Maybe I can ask Dante if he’s single.

Trina: Don’t you dare.

Josslyn: Why not? Trina, there are worse people to crush on.

Trina: Like Spencer? Are you trying to hook me up with Rory to keep me away from Spencer?

Josslyn: “Rory,” huh? Look, I just want you to be with somebody who’s worthy of you, one who isn’t needy and selfish and entitled, one who is unattached and can reciprocate your feelings.

Trina: You don’t have to worry. I kicked Spencer and Esme out of the gallery just the other night.

Josslyn: What? Why were they even there?

Trina: Spencer was there to work on his restitution. And, of course, Esme followed him like a creepy, jealous parasite.

Valentin: Why are you asking about the day Nina gave birth?

Carly: Because it occurs to me that Phyllis may have a soft spot for Nina because she feels guilty about the role she played in giving Nina’s baby away.

Valentin: And you think guilt is the only thing that motivates loyalty?

Carly: It’s the way Nina motivated Harmony to talk to Michael and Willow about visitation with Wiley.

Valentin: And why did Harmony feel guilty where Nina was concerned?

Carly: Harmony felt guilty about many things. It makes sense that she would try to redeem herself any way she could.

Valentin: And why does Sonny feel guilty?

Carly: You got me there. Sonny spent months lying to me, so I have no idea why he’s so fascinated with Nina. Maybe it’s Stockholm Syndrome.

Esme: Hi! Cameron! Is, uh, Spence around?

Cameron: Uh, no. Actually, he, um… our supplier forgot to get enough milk this morning, so I sent him on a grocery run.

Esme: Do you think it’ll be long? There’s something I can’t wait to tell him.

Cameron: I mean, it’ll take as long as it takes, but would you like to order something in the meantime while you wait?

Josslyn: Why? Because he’s all about truth and justice? Right? Well, Esme is all about lying and criminal behavior. And he has resources.

Trina: Okay, I’m going to stop you right there. It’s not fair to put Rory in that position.

Rory: Good night, ladies.

Trina: I’m not going to ask him to help. Esme has ruined enough lives as it is.

Joss: Okay, well, I don’t really feel like doing yoga anymore. So do you want to go get a milkshake?

Trina: Yeah. Sure. Let’s get out of here.

Josslyn: I need something to take my mind off of everything that’s happened. I mean, Trina, you’ve been arrested, Cam and I are on shaky ground, and this sex tape is gonna follow us around forever. I mean, what if future employers do an internet search on me and that pops up?

Trina: Wha– I thought that hacker guy took it off.

Josslyn: Yeah, but you never know.

Trina: I know what we’re up against. I just don’t know what to do about it except… learn to live with it.

Josslyn: No. That is the last thing that we should do. Esme set us both up. She violated my privacy and she stole a very intimate moment of mine and framed you for it. Esme brought this fight to us, and now we’re gonna take it to her.

Trina: How?

Josslyn: She made a mistake. I don’t know what or when, but there has to be evidence out there that proves that she’s guilty, and we’re gonna find it. And when we do, Esme prince is going to prison where she belongs.

Cameron: Look, I think that we need to clear the air.

Esme: [ Sighs ] I don’t want to do this. I know that you and Joss believe I’m a terrible person.

Cameron: And I know I said things… but you need to understand. Trina is Josslyn’s best friend, and Joss is my girlfriend.

Esme: I get it. You’ll always have Joss’ back, even when she’s wrong. And I just wish I had a boyfriend who was as loyal as you are.

Cameron: W-what are you talking about? You’re all Spencer thinks about.

Esme: Then why did he waffle on my innocence even after Trina made those crazy accusations that aren’t even true?

Cameron: This whole situation is complicated, a-and Spencer’s been all over the place. I mean, he even went as far to accuse me, Trina, and Joss being in on it all together. That’s why we got into that fight.

Esme: Really? Spence accused all of you? I-I mean, it’s absolute rubbish. I know that you and Joss would never.

Cameron: Look, the point is that Spencer’s got your back. Don’t turn away from him now. Don’t sweat it. Alright? This will all work out for the best.

Ava: When is she ever appropriate? She’s ingratiating herself with Nikolas. Nikolas is so desperate to seem like a hero in Spencer’s eyes that he’s — he’s blind to her manipulations. And I tell you what. It’s taking a toll.

Nina: Ohh. And — and Nikolas doesn’t recognize how unhappy you are?

Ava: He does. He knows now, now that I’ve canceled our vow-renewal ceremony.

Nina: Oh. I’m sorry, Ava.

Ava: Ehh. Just never have a stepson. Although, you know, if — if you were to ever marry Sonny, you’d have two stepsons and you’d have three stepdaughters. And I would love that. Can you just picture Carly having to pick up donna from you?

Nina: I think we’re getting a little ahead of ourselves.

Ava: Maybe you should. I mean, it’s possible, right? And you’re going pretty hard on Michael and Willow. Someday they could be family, too.

Nina: I don’t care. I’m coming at Michael and Willow with everything I got.

Curtis: So, I thought Marshall was, uh — I thought he was on the run from a dangerous criminal element.

TJ: So then he wasn’t?

Curtis: No. He never ran afoul of the mob. And he was never in witness protection.

TJ: Alright. So t-then what happened?

Curtis: He was arrested in a protest that got out of control. And instead of being sentenced to prison, the judge remanded him to a mental facility.

TJ: How long was he there? What’s his diagnosis?

Curtis: The records I had access to didn’t say. And, you know, Marshall wasn’t about to tell me.

TJ: There is a lot of stigma attached to mental illness, and for a man Marshall’s age, it’s even worse. Uncle, it’s no surprise he took off. He feels you violated his privacy.

Curtis: Hey. I’m not gonna apologize for trying to protect us.

TJ: And I am not asking you to apologize. I respect your choice. I just hope that you will respect mine.

Curtis: Which is?

TJ: I’m not ready to give up on Marshall. I intend to find him and bring him back.

Chet: I know G.H. Has tons of people, but you might know her.

Terry: A name would help. And while we’re at it, I suppose we should get around to our last names. I’m dr. Terry Randolph.

Chet: Yeah, we covered a lot of ground but skipped the basics. Dr. Randolph, I’m Chet Driscoll.

Terry: Driscoll. And your sister is…

Chet: Same last name. Amy Driscoll. Do you know her?

Amy: [ Softly ] No.

Ava: If you go after Carly’s son, she will rip your throat out.

Nina: Well, he’s still walking around, isn’t he? He’s still alive. She let my daughter fall to her death. She could have saved her. She’s not gonna take away my grandson, too. I didn’t want this fight, Ava. But now that I’m in it, I’m gonna come out guns blazing. And Carly better hope to God that she’s not in the line of fire.

Sonny: Wow, you don’t waste any time, do you? I just saw you this morning.

Dex: You said to come by your office — you might have more work for me, so why wait?

Sonny: Frank, can you wait outside?

Frank: Yes, sir.

Dex: I brought my résumé.

[ Door closes ]

Brando: Where’s TJ? They should have the C results by now.

Sasha: Maybe he got caught up with another patient. I’m sure the CT will be fine. All I have is a headache and some jangled nerves. We shouldn’t even have bothered him.

Brando: You had a major shock last night. I’m tracking TJ down.

TJ: Sorry for the wait. There was a backup in radiology.

Sasha: Will I live?

TJ: Your CT looked fine, but do you want me to give you something for the headaches?

Curtis: Um, I was hoping to speak with TJ, but he’s been working these 24-hour shifts. It’s kind of hard to get a hold of him.

Jordan: One thing you can say about my son, he’s no slacker.

Curtis: No, he isn’t.

Jordan: So what do you want to talk to TJ about? Sorry. None of my business. I guess old habits die hard.

Nina: Um, no, thank you. I think I see the person that I’m looking for. Thank you so much.

Scott: Oh!

Nina: Ohh!

Scott: [ Exhales sharply ]

Willow: It’s not true.

Dante: I’m sorry, Willow, but the evidence we have that says you are not Harmony’s biological daughter was taken from Dr. Byrne’s notes — what’s left of them, anyway.

Michael: “What’s left”?

Carly: Harmony burned most of them. I found a remaining sheet of notes and a file folder that Harmony missed.

Dante: So what we have are partial records of Dr. Byrne’s therapy sessions with Harmony.

Michael: If it’s only a partial record, then maybe you misunderstood Dr. Byrne’s notes.

Carly: Harmony told me. She said that you weren’t her biological daughter.

Michael: I mean… that might explain why your mom attacked my mom and Alexis, so no one else would know the truth.

Dante: Sorry, Willow. I know you’ve got questions. And you know what? The PCPD will do our best to make sure you get answers.

Michael: Willow?

Willow: It’s a lie.

Sonny: I don’t rely on résumés. Chet already said all kinds of nice things about you, and I know you can handle yourself by the way you dealt with those fighters that were supposed to be sparring, but they ended up fighting.

Dex: Does that mean I have a job?

Sonny: I’ve got to get to know you better before I decide whether you’re the right fit for one of my businesses.

Dex: Coffee. Import/export.

Sonny: The most important thing is trust, especially in my business. I’ve got to know if I can trust you. If that’s a problem, we stop right now.

TJ: Tell you what — I’ll write down an over-the-counter, non-habit-forming medication. That should take care of the headaches.

Valentin: It has. I was on my way out and saw you sitting here, having a heck of a time with that memory card.

Valentin: What have we here? It’s the face of Deception.

Jordan: If I run into TJ, I’ll tell him you’re looking for him.

Curtis: Jordan, wait. It is about Marshall.

Jordan: What about him?

Curtis: TJ likes the guy. Says he wants to get to know his grandfather.

Jordan: TJ has a big heart and is very forgiving. Marshall’s absence for all these years hasn’t hurt him like it has you.

Curtis: I know, but still, there are some things that TJ is entitled to know.

Jordan: Such as?

Curtis: Such as who and what Marshall really is.

Scott: Oh, for crying out loud, Nina. Come on, get lost.

Nina: No, I’m not gonna get lost, Scott. You’re supposed to be preparing to fight for my right to be part of my grandson’s life, not getting a manicure.

Scott: Well, now, judges like well-manicured lawyers — not to mention your Aunt Liesl. She likes when my nails are clipped and polished and ready for action.

Nina: The state of your cuticles is not a high priority right now, Scott, since I got the advanced copy of the five-part series The Invader is going to run on me soon.

Scott: Yeah, I got it, too.

Nina: You got it?

Scott: Yes.

Nina: And so why are you so calm? They’re out to sabotage me even before I step foot in a courtroom.

Scott: Who’s “they”?

Nina: Michael and Willow. Who else?

Michael: This is a lot to process, okay? Dante could come back later —

Willow: Neil Byrne lost his medical license. He had a drug problem. Who’s to say he didn’t make up lies about my mother, create his own fantasy, blaming her for some imaginary adoption? The man was obviously delusional.

Dante: Okay, Willow, as I said earlier, the PCPD is not going to accept anything without further proof. But you have to ask yourself, why else would Harmony kill her psychiatrist and his brother if not to keep her secret protected?

Willow: I don’t know. But you want to know what I do know? My mother loved me. Maybe she wasn’t always the best mom, but whatever her crimes, she loved me as only a mother can love her child, especially now, before she…

Michael: No, no. [ Sighs ] My mom said that Harmony admitted the truth to her. She wouldn’t lie.

Carly: She said it to me again — well, to Alexis and me — on Rana Point. That’s why she attacked us. She was so desperate to keep her secret, and when it started coming out, she just lost it.

Michael: Maybe that’s what drove Harmony into the middle of the road without looking. She was focused on finding you, to tell you what she did and to seek forgiveness.

Willow: That’s what you were talking about in the chapel.

Carly: Yeah. I knew it would be a shock. I just wanted to give you a little time. That’s why I didn’t want to tell you last night. I didn’t tell Michael either.

Willow: I didn’t lose my mother last night. She was never mine in the first place.

Dex: Chet warned me you might tear up the résumé. He said you play by your own rules.

Sonny: But you brought the résumé anyway.

Dex: I’d rather be over-prepared than show up lacking.

Sonny: I like your philosophy. If — and that’s a big if — I have room for you in one of my businesses, then I need to know that you’re going to be able to take orders and follow them. No going rogue, and never think that you know better than me. Are we clear?

Dex: Crystal. I just need a chance to prove myself.

Sonny: What do you think we’re doing? I know you’re tough. You already proved that to me this morning. But being tough can only get you so far. Smart is the better way.

Brando: Everything okay?

TJ: Sasha’s CT didn’t indicate any serious injury, but there’s no reason for her to live with residual pain. So I recommended a painkiller.

Brando: Yeah, I noticed the script.

Sasha: It’s over the counter and non-habit-forming.

Brando: [ Scoffs ] Okay. Thanks for your help.

TJ: Any time.

Sasha: Now, if you two don’t mind, I would love to freshen up before I get back to work as the Face of Deception.

TJ: Of course.

Sasha: Thanks, Dr. Ashford.

TJ: Yeah.

Brando: Pick you up later?

Sasha: Yeah, of course. Yeah. [ Exhales deeply ]

Sasha: What the hell are you doing here?

Felty: I saw your husband and doctor leaving. I thought I should check up on you. Missing something? I know just how you feel.

Valentin: I didn’t think that Sasha was capable of taking a bad picture.

Gladys: [ Sighs ] It’s not Sasha. It’s the creepy paparazzo who wouldn’t leave her alone.

Valentin: And how did you get your hands on his photos?

Gladys: How do you think?

Valentin: These were taken last night, I assume before Harmony Miller was run down.

Gladys: It was an accident.

Valentin: Well, you know that and I know that, but in the wrong hands, these photos tell a decidedly different story. Look.

Jordan: I thought you made peace with Marshall’s past.

Curtis: Easier said than done. After you refused to dig up my father’s sealed arrest records —

Jordan: I gave you my reasons why I wouldn’t help you with that.

Curtis: And I understood. Look, I wasn’t happy about it, but then I realized that I was putting you in an impossible situation.

Jordan: You found someone else to help you.

Curtis: Certain information came my way.

Jordan: What kind?

Curtis: The kind that you wouldn’t release to me.

Jordan: And how exactly did you manage that when I said no?

Scott: Your case is going to be decided in court, not on the pages of The Invader, so I suggest that you just chill out and get yourself a manicure.

Nina: The byline belongs to this guy, Grant Smoltz, and he’s half reporter, half pit bull, and, Scott, he’s painting me as this vengeful, homewrecking vixen out to get Wiley’s other grandmother, saint Carly.

Scott: Well, there’s nothing I can do about Smoltz and his slander, because everything that was said, is, you know, public record.

Nina: No. You don’t think that the judge is going to read that article and deny my petition for visitation? Do you really think that? I mean, out of the two grandmothers, who do you think the judge is going to have more sympathy for?

Scott: Well, you know what? There are two grandmothers involved in this, and one of them just died. So, Harmony Miller, compared to you — I mean, you’re like Mother Teresa.

Nina: So what are you thinking?

Scott: Harmony Miller is a suspect in two murders. She assaulted Carly and Alexis, and she’s dead. So I’m sure that Willow is all over the map right now and so is Michael.

Nina: And?

Scott: Well, we go to their barracuda lawyer and we say it behooves them to just drop this whole invader thing. Otherwise, we go to court and let the judge decide whose behavior is better, yours or a double murderer’s.

Diane: Nice try, counselor. But on behalf of my clients, the answer is, we will see you in court.

Willow: It makes A… scary kind of sense… and explains so much. Harmony isn’t my biological mother. Is that why she couldn’t find my birth certificate, why there was no official record of its existence?

Dante: Well, according to Alexis, that birth certificate never did exist. What Harmony gave you was forged.

Willow: Forged?

Carly: When you were a baby, Harmony took you from somebody else and claimed you as her own.

Willow: So I was kidnapped? Oh, my god. What else don’t I know?

Michael: Look, let’s take a break.

Willow: No, no! We cannot stop now. Everything I ever thought about my childhood is a lie. I have to know the truth.

Dex: I never went to college, Mr. Corinthos, but I served two tours. I have combat experience. I can handle myself under pressure when everything’s on the line.

Sonny: I appreciate the ability to handle trouble, but I don’t want my employees looking for trouble.

Dex: I kept my nose clean at the gym. I only mixed it up when I had to.

Sonny: Chet told me that, yeah.

Dex: If you keep your cool, you don’t have to mix it up. But if there’s no choice, I act quickly and make sure I’m the last man standing.

Sonny: I like your attitude, but attitude can only get you so far. Sooner or later, you’re gonna have to back it up.

Sasha: Get out.

Felty: What are you gonna do, scream for help? Or scream for one of those little pills you were about to swallow before I took your picture?

Sasha: Those pills are for migraines, like the one you gave me when you refused to leave me alone.

Felty: Those capsules are distinctive, and they’re not for migraines. They’re not pillow mints, either.

Sasha: You know what, if you hadn’t chased after me, I wouldn’t —

Felty: You wouldn’t have turned Harmony Miller into roadkill?

Sasha: [ Gasps ] You are disgusting! I hadn’t taken anything.

Felty: Only because I surprised you.

Sasha: [ Scoffs ]

Felty: Okay, listen, beauty. Far be it from me to spoil the Face of Deception. I just want my memory card. Those pictures are my bread and butter.

Sasha: Mine too.

Felty: Well, then, I’ll delete the ones I have of you and the spilled pills. I’ll even forget I ever saw them.

Sasha: [ Laughing ] Okay. I’m supposed to believe you?

Felty: Mm-hmm. Believe this. I have connections. I can get you what you need.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Felty: I just sent you my number. Give me a call, sooner rather than later. It’ll be our little secret.

Gladys: My daughter-in-law is grieving the loss of her baby. The doctor prescribed medication to help her cope.

Valentin: Well, I’m sympathetic. The loss of her child was tragic. Um… but she does have a public history of drug abuse, which was covered on “Good Morning America,” no less. So her with medication would raise red flags. She’s my business partner. She’s the ace of the company, and she’s the brand ambassador, so she represents a huge part of my investment.

Gladys: I couldn’t trust Sasha more if she was my own flesh and blood daughter. Now, if you’ll excuse me.

Jordan: How did you get your hands on your father’s sealed arrest records? You know what? Never mind. I don’t want to force you to tell the truth or compel you to lie. Both are bad.

Curtis: Very interesting. You seem to care more about how I found out about Marshall’s past, but not what I found out.

Jordan: Damn it, Curtis. I care about you.

Nina: Diane, if you would just listen —

Scott: Alright, Nina, Nina, Nina. Quiet, quiet, quiet. Diane, we know that your BFF’s roommate just died under very mysterious circumstances.

Diane: I think you’re talking about Alexis’s houseguest, not roommate, Harmony Miller.

Scott: AKA Willow Tate’s mommy. Now, if they want to really play hardball, we’ll make sure that the judge knows that one of the grandmas is a murderer.

Diane: You knock yourself out, counselor, because you see, Harmony Miller was not biologically related to Wiley, therefore had no standing. Therefore, it’s a nonstarter. I’m actually a little surprised at how fuzzy you are as counselor for the petitioner on this particular legal question at issue. You see, the only reason why your client has any standing to bring a petition at all is because she’s the biological grandmother. And the biological mother, convicted murderer and kidnapper Nelle Benson, is dead. It’s a technicality. It’s a loophole. But my clients are well within their rights to argue against visitation. And if you [Chuckles] care about that little boy the way you say you do, you will drop this claim before the invader article goes national.

Sonny: Your service is impressive. And I saw what you can do at the gym. But there are other factors that I need to consider.

Dex: If you hire me, you’ll see what I bring.

[ Knock on door ]

Brando: Oh, you’re in a meeting. I’ll wait outside.

Sonny: No, the meeting’s over. Brando, Dex. Dex, Brando. Dex is gonna be at the bar. He’s going to have an espresso. He’s gonna wait.

Dex: Thank you, Mr. Corinthos. I appreciate your time.

Sonny: Close the door.

[ Door closes ]

Sonny: So, what? I heard about the accident. What — how’s Sasha?

Brando: Physically, she’s fine. Emotionally, you know… I mean, she just — she just began to deal with losing Liam, and then — then this happened, man.

Sonny: Must be tough. But you’re helping her cope, right?

Brando: I’m trying. I’m trying. Sasha thinks she needs to be strong for me, but I can’t seem to get through her defenses. That’s why I’m here. I’m hoping — I’m hoping you know what to do.

Sasha: When I said I wanted to meet, I thought it would be at the office. It’s a little early for happy hour. We’re still on the clock. [ Sighs ] You still have it.

Curtis: I get it. You don’t want me to get so caught up in Marshall’s past that I cross the line.

Jordan: If that happened, I wouldn’t be able to look the other way.

Jordan: Alright, then. Was it worth whatever price you paid to find out what you wanted to know about Marshall?

Scott: Yeah, so let me put it to you simply, okay? If you go ahead with Smoltz’s hatchet job, it is open season on Harmony.

Diane: And make Willow yet another innocent victim of Harmony? Please, by all means, be my guest.

Nina: Oh, Willow Tate is hardly an innocent victim. She refuses to stand up to Michael over and over again. She cut me out of Wiley’s life without batting an eyelash.

Diane: Perhaps your attorney has neglected to tell you this — big surprise — but Michael and Willow are Wiley’s parents, and it is their legal obligation, not to mention their moral and sacred duty, to do what they feel is in the best interest of that child while you, Ms. Reeves, have a documented and provable history of emotional and mental instability. If you would like to avoid further embarrassment, further public humiliation, withdraw that claim.

Nina: Diane, let me make this perfectly clear. If Willow and Michael insist on dragging me through the mud, I’ll return the favor and drag them right along with me.

Carly: Willow, I think Dante’s right. There’s a lot of questions that need to be answered.

Dante: First off, I’d like you to take a DNA test. That way, we can rule out any blood relation between you and Harmony.

Michael: That makes sense, but Willow’s already been through the wringer. Can’t that wait for a little bit?

Dante: Well, it can, Michael, but look, if you want answers to these questions, which it seems like you really do, the sooner you take this test, the better.

Willow: Michael’s right. I, um… I need time to digest everything I’ve learned.

Dante: Okay. I guess I’ll check back in tomorrow. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Carly: I’m going to take off, too. Yeah. Hey.

Michael You gonna be okay?

Carly: Yeah. Yeah. Been a crazy day. Stay strong for Willow.

Michael: Yeah.

Carly: Yeah. You know what? The answers will come when you’re ready. I told Harmony that I would protect you, and I will.

Dex: Mr. Corinthos is famous for his coffee and his loyalty. You’ve got to admire both.

Brando: I’m sorry for imposing. You have enough troubles without my adding to them.

Sonny: No, listen, you can always come to me. Lesson number one — when you’re family, your troubles are my troubles.

Brando: And vice versa.

Sonny: Absolutely.

Brando: What’s lesson number two?

Sonny: If you love someone, don’t wait for them to come to you. Sasha’s in pain. Let her know that you’re not scared, that you’re not looking for a way out.

Brando: I’m there for the good and the bad, just like I said in my marriage vows.

Sonny: Absolutely. Putting her first, you cannot go wrong. I know she’s going to say to you, “Look, I’m okay.” And you got to trust that, you got to respect her. But… if there are any warning signs, do not ignore that.

Brando: I’ll make sure that she knows, if she falls, I will catch her.

Sonny: You do that, you can’t go wrong.

Curtis: I ran into your mom by accident, but I wanted to talk to you about your grandfather.

Dante: Oh, hey, Jordan. Uh, I just came from seeing Willow Tate.

Jordan: And?

Dante: I tried to break the news to her gently.

Jordan: Did she agree to give you a DNA sample to confirm she’s not Harmony Miller’s biological daughter?

Dante: No. I got some pushback from Michael.

Jordan: I don’t blame them. Willow needs time to grieve. Give her a night to process, see if she and Michael are more open to it tomorrow. In the meantime, I have a more pressing job for you.

Dante: What’s more pressing than proving that Harmony wasn’t Willow’s birth mother?

Jordan: Finding out who was.

Scott: I’m sure it’s not going to come down to mutually assured destruction. Will it, Diane?

Diane: If Nina wants a fight to the bitter end, so be it.

Scott: Hmm.

Diane: I’m going to find a new nail salon.

Nina: Diane, just wait one second. Wiley, he needs all of his family, right? Now more than ever. And I understand that Willow’s whole world has shattered, I do. But don’t punish that little boy because of Willow’s pain.

Diane: Nina, you seem to think that depriving Wiley of your presence would be a punishment. Court may not agree with you.

Scott: Ahh. Don’t let her get to you.

Nina: You’re right. She is a barracuda. But whatever Michael is paying her to drive me out of Wiley’s life, it’s just a waste of his money.

Scott: Okay, so it sounds to me it’s all-out war.

Nina: It’s war. It is.

Scott: Okay. Alright, good. Then you’ve changed your mind.

Nina: About what?

Scott: Sonny. You’ve got to let me put him up on the stand.

Michael: Sounds like Harmony wanted my mom to protect you from the truth about all the lines that she crossed.

Willow: Harmony was probably delirious. Most end-of-life patients are. She couldn’t prevent the truth from coming out. But now that I know she wasn’t my birth mother…

Wiley: Mommy!

Melanie: Someone missed his mommy.

Willow: Not half as much as his mommy missed him.

Valentin: I was hoping that Drew Cain would wait a little longer to take an interest in ELQ. Your girlfriend has promised to vote to support me as CEO, but her vote only counts as a tiebreak, so I am afraid that my days are numbered.

Carly: Bad news?

Valentin: Oh, it’s just business. It’s nothing life-threatening.

Carly: Hmm.

Valentin: I heard about Harmony Miller’s incident. Glad you weren’t harmed.

Carly: Thank you.

Valentin: I imagine Willow Tate is pretty badly shaken.

Carly: Now, why would you care about that?

Valentin: Well, Willow was my daughter’s third grade teacher, and after a rocky start, she was actually pretty good for her.

Carly: That doesn’t surprise me. Willow’s a wonderful person.

Valentin: Yeah, who is now grieving her mother and facing a prolonged court battle with Nina. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Carly: And Nina got to you.

Valentin: Imagine if we could get our priorities straight, Carly. And you could lead the way by making peace with Nina.

Brando: You learn anything more about that attempted robbery at Charlie’s?

Sonny: That’s not your concern. You take care of Sasha. I’ll take care of everything else.

TJ: Marshall’s. I know. This is also from him.

Curtis: [ Sighs ] “I wanted to leave you a gift, but all I have to offer is this gift of music. Like you said about surgery, it’s part of one great, unfinished symphony. Your loving grandfather.”

TJ: Do you know what he means?

Curtis: It means your grandfather left town because of me.

Dante: To find Willow’s birth mother, I need to start with Harmony Miller.

Jordan: Dig up anything you can find on Harmony’s background before she came to Port Charles. Somewhere out there, a mother is missing her daughter.

Nina: No, nothing has changed. Just leave Sonny out of it. But Michael — Michael is fair game.

Scott: Only Michael?

Nina: No. And Willow. Willow also. Because she has the keys to unlocking the door that’s blocking my access to my grandson. What is — what is that saying? When someone looks like they’re too good to be true —

Scott: They’re usually not.

Nina: There must be something about Willow Tate that we can uncover, Scott. And I want you to keep digging until you find it.

Carly: So, what is it about Nina that makes otherwise rational men come to her defense?

Valentin: When does the hurting stop? When do we stop attacking one another and get on with our lives?

Carly: You should ask Nina that question. She kept Sonny from his family for nine months, and then she slept with him. Now she’s petitioning the court to allow her to visit my grandson.

Valentin: Well, he’s her grandson, as well. And from her perspective, you cost her a daughter, so… why don’t we just end this?

Willow: No, no. They’re — they’re happy tears, sweetie, because I am sitting here with you and Daddy, the two most important men in my life.

Michael: Hey, bud. I think that Annabel II really, really misses you. So why don’t you go back to the house with Melanie, and your Mommy and I will meet you and Annabel there very soon, okay?

Wiley: Promise?

Michael: Promise.

Willow: Wiley’s lucky. He’s young. Barely knew his grandma Harmony. Whatever pain he might feel about never seeing her again will heal.

Michael: And, um… and yours?

Willow: I don’t know. [ Sniffles ] I just keep asking myself the same question — if Harmony isn’t my birth mother… who is?

Chet: Good to see you, Mr. Corinthos. Thank you again for the time off.

Sonny: How’d the trip to the Middle East go?

Chet: Oh, [Sighs] It was, uh — it was incredible. I wasn’t really sure how I’d feel being back in the country, but bringing those supplies to the nonprofit and sharing my story with the other wounded vets — I don’t know — it gave me a sense of closure I didn’t realize I needed.

Sonny: I’m glad the trip made a difference. You — you’re helping a lot of people.

Chet: Yeah, well, I tried.

And I’m also glad you’re back.

Yeah, well, I’m glad to be back. Turns out, I have a lot to look forward to now that I’m home.

Terry: What’s more date-worthy, biz — red or sparkly?

Elizabeth: Is this why you insisted I come with you — color consultation?

Terry: Uh, we needed a girls’ outing. You’ve been working too much.

Elizabeth: I’m trying to save up so Cameron can live in the dorms instead of semi-permanently crashing with friends. Getting my nails done is not a luxury I can afford.

Terry: No worries. It’s my treat.

Elizabeth: And normally I wouldn’t worry, except you never want anyone to come with you to the nail salon. This is your meditative time.

Terry: Well, after meditating on it, I’ve decided it’s time for a new tradition.

Elizabeth: Terry, what’s really going on? Uh…you know, there’s paraffin treatments in there.

Terry: [ Sighs ] Fine. Alright. I do have something to confess, and you’re not gonna like it.

Britt: Heard it was a rough night.

TJ: I lost my first patient.

Britt: Always tough.

TJ: She wasn’t exactly a stranger. I mean, Harmony miller may have been bad news, but telling her daughter, “So sorry. We — we did everything we could” — it was… it was worse than I could ever imagine.

Britt: And did you? Do everything you could?

TJ: And we did.

Britt: Then you’re good.

TJ: Doesn’t feel that way.

Britt: [ Sighs ] Nothing prepares you for that first one.

Brook Lynn: I’m so sorry about Willow’s mom.

Michael: Thanks. I’ll, uh — I’ll tell Willow when she wakes up.

Chase: [ Gasps ] Oh, it’s, uh, May the 4th.

Brook Lynn: Last I checked. Did you forget?

Chase: Oh, it’s just we got those tickets ages ago and, uh… I have another commitment.

Brook Lynn: [ Scoffs ] Like what, a date?

Chase: Yes, actually. And I’m pretty sure her dad doesn’t let her watch PG movies. I’ll talk to you later.

Violet: Pink or purple?

Michael: Yeah, Willow was so exhausted last night. I was, uh — I was worried she was gonna be too upset to sleep, but she sat on the bed to take her shoes off. By the time I turned back around, she was already asleep with her clothes still on.

Carly: Well, it’s a good thing that Willow’s getting some rest. She’s gonna need her strength with what’s to come.

Chet: How’d my temporary replacement do?

Sonny: Uh, Dex? Um, I-I only met him briefly. He’s — you know, he seemed capable.

Chet: Good. Well, I took a chance on him because he’s a fellow vet and he had experience in gym management, so I just…

Sonny: Yeah.

Chet: I just hope he met your expectations.

Sonny: Well, the — the transition was seamless. And the staff, no complaints.

Chet: Well, as long as he wasn’t better at my job than I am.

Sonny: No, no danger to that.[ Laughs ]

Dante: Hey, Chet.

Chet: Hey.

Dante: Good to see you back, man.

Chet: Yeah, thanks.

Sonny: You’re here early. I am, yeah.

Dante: I, uh — I left you a message.

Sonny: Ah, well, I was gonna call you. What’s up?

Dante; You haven’t heard?

Chet: Uh, first day. I’m going to go take care of the handoff.

Sonny: Yeah. What’s going on?

Dante: Carly and Alexis were attacked last night.

Chase: Ooh, it’s so hard to choose.

Violet: Last time, you wore pink.

Chase: Right, because I thought you preferred purple. I do, but when it’s on my head, I can’t see it. That’s why daddy usually picks purple.

Chase: Oh. Speaking of, your dad called me this morning, and he said he’s so excited to see you tonight, and then he blew you a big kiss, like this. Mwah!

Violet: [ Giggles ] You’re gonna have to call him back so you can blow him a kiss from me.

Chase: Or you could do it yourself.

Violet: That’s true.

Chase: Do you know what else is true? With your dad away, we could spend the whole day together. What do you want to do?

Violet: Tea party.

Chase: That’s an option. Or we could take a walk in the park, see the ducks in the lake.

Violet: Hm. Tea party.

Chase: Or we could go to the aquarium. I bet they have purple fish and all the sea creatures there.

Violet: Tea par-ty.

Chase: That’s three tea parties in less than 24 hours, Violet.

Violet: You can never have too many tea parties.

Chase: Noted.

Terry: Today’s mani-pedi is actually being underwritten by a generous benefactor, one who’s concerned about the amount of stress you’ve been under.

Elizabeth: Ah. Okay, thank you for telling me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go kill Finn.

Terry: Hey, hey, hey. Can you kill him after you get your nails done? You need this.

Elizabeth: One afternoon is not going to make me forget everything that’s going on.

Terry: And what exactly is “everything”? You’ve been tired, irritable. And the fact that Finn asked me to take you on this little outing only confirms that things are bigger than you’ve told me.

Elizabeth: I can handle it.

Terry: Right, so who done it, then, hmm? Who slashed your dress and stashed your wedding ring in your locker? Who burned down Franco’s studio, took his portrait of you, and left it at your house? If you’re handling it, you must know, then.

Elizabeth: I don’t enjoy you when you’re like this.

Terry: And yet you should be used to it by now. Come on. Enough with the silence and pretense. You’re telling me everything.

Elizabeth: Okay. Okay.

Terry: And don’t forget, I’ve known you longer than anyone, so don’t even think about holding back, because I’ll know.

TJ: Patients I’ll lose in the future? [ Sighs ] Can’t wait.

[ Cup taps lightly ]

Britt: How are you doing?

Amy: Dr. Westbourne! Hi, Dr. Ashford. Dr. Westbourne.

Britt: Hi, Nurse Driscoll. Is there something I can do for you?

Amy: Yes, at least I hope so. I agreed to work a double, but I’m not feeling well, so I was hoping…

Britt: Did you check with Epiphany?

Amy: She said it’s okay with her if it’s okay with you. And I just conducted my final patient rounds, and the beds on the floor and in the er are at below half capacity.

Britt: Okay, off you go. [ Chuckles ] Feel better. [ Sighs ] Okay. Where were we?

TJ: Uh, how — how am I doing? Y-you know, I did — I did everything I could to save my patient, and I still lost her, so I feel — I-I feel helpless, useless, defeated. You know, part of me wants to scream and — and throw my coffee against the wall. I just…

Britt: Well, TJ, you are a doctor, and this is a hospital. There are plenty of fantastic places to scream if you muffle the noise. [ Chuckles ]

TJ: [ Sighs ]

Britt: Try a few and pick your favorite.

TJ: I’ll do that. Thank you.

Dante: Uh, Carly and Alexis, they’re at home recovering, but, you know, they’re — they’re pretty rattled.

Sonny: Harmony — where is she now?

Dante: She’s dead.

Sonny: Dead? How?

Dante: She tried to make a getaway on foot and a car hit her. That’s all I can tell you right now.

Sonny: Okay. I gotta call Carly.

Dante: What’s the matter?

Sonny: No, it’s just — there was just a time when Carly would — would have called me for something like this, or the hospital would have contacted me as next of kin. But now that, you know, in the eyes of the law, we’re not family anymore, so…

Dante: Well, you know, families aren’t made and broken with emergency contact information.

Sonny: But they’re all — it’s family. There should always be, you know, trust. Care. I’m always gonna care for Carly the rest of my life. But now, you know, she just doesn’t want anything to do with me.

Carly: Keep that up, you’re going to wear a groove in the floor.

Michael: Yeah, I know, I’m just — I’m just still reeling about what happened. I mean, Willow was just starting to regain trust with Harmony, and now she has to deal with this?

Wiley: What about grandma Harmony?

Michael: Um…

Carly: What color do you want to color the car?

Wiley: Uh, blue.

Carly: Blue it is. Get going, alright? Um… you’re going to have to watch it.

Michael: I know. It’s — I-I just — I-I don’t understand what led Harmony to do what she did at Rana Point. I don’t, but… the police are investigating. That means this is gonna go public. Yeah. And the press is going to jump all over it. I know. I managed to stall Aurora’s digital press, but I can’t control all media. Eventually, this is going to come out, and I just don’t know how to protect Willow from the fallout.

Chase: [ Clears throat ] [ British accent ] Why, Lady Honeycutt, I do believe these are the finest scones I’ve ever had the good fortune to nibble on.

Violet: Why, thank you.

[ Knock on door ]

Chase: [ Normal voice ] Whoever you are, I owe you.

[ Lightsabers activate ]

Brook Lynn: [Laughing] May the 4th be with you.

Chase: I know, I know.

Brook Lynn: Ah! Tell me, young Skywalker, is that a Jedi tiara or a Sith tiara, hmm?

Violet: Uncle Chase is Princess Brandywine.

Chase: Ah. Yes, uh… Lady Honeycutt speaks the truth. [ British accent ] I am Princess Brandywine.

Elizabeth: So now the boys and I are living apart. Aiden’s discussing Ouija boards with Lucy Coe, and I can’t even escape this menace in a hotel room. And that brings us to now.

Terry: Oh, my god, biz. I can’t believe you’ve been dealing with all this. You should have told me.

Elizabeth: [ Sighs ] I mean, the police are on the case, and Finn’s been really supportive. What more could you have done besides worry?

Terry: Offer my support? Someone to vent to? My home?

Elizabeth: Finn offered his home as well, but whatever this is, it followed me to the metro court. I don’t want it following me to your house.

Terry: Wait, “whatever” this is? Don’t you mean “whoever”?

Elizabeth: Aiden believes it’s franco’s ghost. And do you actually think he’s right? That you’re being stalked by franco’s ghost?

[ Door opens, closes ]

Elizabeth: Amy.

Dante: Look, you won’t know if Carly wants you to check in with her unless you reach out.

Sonny: Someone tries to kill Carly — she doesn’t reach out to me? Same thing with Michael? That sends a message. They don’t want anything to do with me.

Dante: What message? What do you — maybe they’re just catching their breath…

Sonny: Okay.

Dante: …Right now.

Sonny: Alright.

Dante: Come on.

Sonny: No, I’m just saying.

Dante: Look, last night was a crazy night. Alexis and Carly were still being treated when Harmony was brought in. I mean, it — we’re all still just trying to pick up the pieces of what happened. And then Michael, he was worried a-about Carly and Willow and maybe just too distracted to contact you, even if he thought about it. Even if he wanted to. I don’t know.

Sonny: Michael didn’t want to, but that’s his choice.

Dante: [ Sighs ] I guess so.

Sonny: Yeah.

Dante: You taking care of yourself?

Sonny: Uh… of course I am.

Dante: You lost your best friend, your wife, and now son.

Sonny: Thanks for reminding me.

Dante: Well, I’m not trying to remind you — I’m just trying to make you see that you’re getting more and more isolated, and sometimes, when that happens, we both know you can get vulnerable.

Michael: There’s just one thing I don’t understand about all this.

Carly: Just one?

Michael: As crazy as what, uh, Harm– actually, let’s — let’s go over here. As crazy as what Harmony did at Rana Point, I mean, what pushed her that far? I mean, she seemed like she was in a good place. She was rebuilding with Willow. And what she tried to do, it — it — it was so outrageous that it was guaranteed to fail — I mean, thank God, but she must’ve known that. So why jeopardize her relationship with Willow?

Carly: And this little guy.

Michael: Exactly. She was obviously desperate, and then… [ Scoffs ] I probably didn’t help that.

Sonny: You saying I’m vulnerable or my business is vulnerable? What are you — I don’t — I’m not sure what you’re trying to say.

Dante: Well, I can’t speak to your business for obvious reasons, but as your son right now, I’m just saying that I’m concerned. I don’t want you to start drinking again or get off your meds.

Sonny: Well, you’re not wrong, and I appreciate your concern.

Dante: Okay.

Sonny: But I got it handled.

Dante: On the drinking or the meds?

Sonny: Both.

Dante: Alright. [ Clears throat ] What about the loneliness? You got that handled, too?

Sonny: You know, let me just say this — you don’t have to worry about me. [ Breathing sharply ]

Dante: Alright. Good enough. I gotta go to the Quartermaines’ and talk to Willow, alright?

Sonny: Alright.

Dante: See you around.

Sonny: Alright, see you later.

TJ: I almost wish I could compartmentalize my emotions.

Britt: No chief wants robots populating their staff.

TJ: You don’t want doctors lined up outside the call room, taking turns having a good cry, right?

Britt: I don’t know. Sounds pretty good to me.

[ Telephones ringing in distance ]

Britt: It wasn’t that long ago I had to deliver devastating news to new parents.

TJ: Brando and Sasha?

Britt: [ Sighs ] Feeling too much and feeling too little, both have their drawbacks. But given the choice, I want medical professionals who treat patients using their heart as well as their head.

TJ: My — my favorite professor always said that good doctoring comes from good listening, and good listening can’t always be taught.

Britt: It’s also not billable.

TJ: [ Chuckles ] Yeah.

Britt: The trick is to combine compassion with efficient care.

TJ: You make that sound really easy.

Britt: Oh, no, it — it’s not. [ Laughs ] But it is doable. Tell me, TJ, what kind of doctor do you want to be?

Terry: Because, to the best of my knowledge, you’re supposed to be at the hospital.

Amy: Dr. Ashford lost his first patient last night. I was working with him. We couldn’t save her. It got to me.

Terry: I’m sorry to hear that.

Amy: Thank you.

Terry: And I have my job to do.

Amy: Well, I don’t like the way you’re doing it, and I’m probably not the only one.

Terry: Which is why staff are given the opportunity to evaluate hospital leadership quarterly.

Amy: Well, I may forgo that and march straight to Monica.

Terry: Knock yourself out, Amy. We’re done.

Elizabeth: Hey, Amy, I understand that you’re upset, but let’s all just take a deep breath, you guys.

Terry: It’s fine, Elizabeth. Amy’s entitled to her anger.

Amy: Oh, gee, thank you.

Terry: You’re also entitled to file a formal complaint with the board. What you’re not entitled to do is try to ruin my day off.

Brook Lynn: Are you kidding? All the good lightsabers are gone by the end of April. My dad actually got these a while back for Rocco and Leo. Since you couldn’t go to “Star Wars,” I thought I’d bring “Star Wars” to you.

[ Lightsabers whirring ]

Chase: I glad you remembered.

Brook Lynn: Of course I remembered.

Chase: Why “of course”? Well, it’s a very important day in this galaxy, and it’s really important to you.

Violet: Uncle Chase, come sword fight with me.

Brook Lynn: You heard the princess.

Chase: Hey, that is mine. Well… okay, Violet, first of all, this is called a lightsaber, and it is the ancient and sacred weapon of the warriors known as the Jedi. Wah!

[ Lightsabers bleeping ]

Michael: I was always so guarded with Harmony, and she felt it. You know, maybe if I was more accepting, she would have been honest.

Carly: Stop that. No one made Harmony do what she did. She made the choice to hurt people.

[ Knock on door ]

Michael: [ Sighs ] Hey, Dante.

Dante: Hey, everybody.

Wiley: Hi, Uncle Dante.

[ Door closes ]

Dante: Hey, pal, how you doing?

Carly: So, are you here to see Willow?

Dante: Yeah. Is she resting? If so, I can come back another time.

Carly: Oh.

Michael: Hey, bud, your mom’s awake. She could use a hug.

Carly: Willow, what can we do for you?

Willow: Hugs help.

Carly: Well, then I’m next in line. [ Chuckles ]

Willow: Aww.

Carly: Oh, I’m so sorry. Alright, why don’t I take this little guy up to the main house, alright? And I’ll be right back. Come on. Let’s go get some yummy snacks in the big house.

Chet: Mr. Corinthos, if you have a minute, Dex would like to say goodbye. It’s his, uh, last day here.

Dex: Thank you for the opportunity, Mr. Corinthos. I hope my work was satisfactory.

Sonny: Listen, if — if I ever need anybody to replace Chet, I’ll give you a call. What’s next for you?

Dex: Not sure. Ideally, I’d love to stay on here in some other capacity.

Chet: Well, I wish we had a more permanent position for you at the gym, but we’re fully staffed.

Dex: Till something opens up, I’m — I’m more than happy to scrub floors, fix equipment, wash towels. I mean, no job is too big or small. I’m just asking for a chance.

Elizabeth: Since when is there friction between you and Amy?

Terry: I’ve had to call her out a few times. Nurse Driscoll thinks it’s personal, but it really isn’t. I shouldn’t lose my temper. It’s unprofessional. And even worse, it causes frown lines.

Elizabeth: Well, then, let’s talk about something that makes you smile, like your secret “lovah.”

Terry: Uh, he is not my “lovah.” And it’s not a secret, I just don’t want to jinx it.

Elizabeth: [ Sighs ] If not his name, give me something.

Terry: He’s funny and handsome, a real gentleman, and he looks great in a t-shirt. [ Chuckles ]

Elizabeth: Go on.

Terry: I met him a few months ago. We had a drink on Valentine’s, and then he had to leave town.

Elizabeth: Oh, well, that’s not a good sign.

Terry: We kept in touch. And, my god, Biz, the man gives great text.

Elizabeth: Oh, gee. Sounds like you’re in trouble.

Terry: [ Laughs ] Hey, speaking of trouble, are you gonna be okay at the hotel tonight?

[ Water bubbling ]

Elizabeth: I just forgot to latch the door. It’s not gonna happen again.

Terry: Did you at least call hotel security?

Elizabeth: [ Sighs ] Hotel security, the police, and nothing seems to help. I don’t know, maybe nothing can.

Terry: The ghost theory.

Elizabeth: I know you’re a woman of science, and so am I. But at this point, I’m willing to try everything.

Terry: Whatever eases your mind.

Elizabeth: Great. So will you go someplace with me later this week?

Terry: Can you be more specific?

Elizabeth: Why? You already trust me. You don’t need to know.

Terry: Unfortunately, that’s true.

Elizabeth: Great. But right now, I need to get back to work, and you need to prep for your hot date.

Terry: Mm. [ Chuckles ]

Chase: I miss it.

Brook Lynn: It’s just a few more weeks. [ Clears throat ] You hear that, Violet? Your Uncle Chase is gonna be back to saving the galaxy very soon, just like Luke — Luke…

Chase: Skywalker?

Brook Lynn: Right. Skywalker. How could I forget?

Chase: It’s too bad we’re not going to the movie tonight. You could use a refresher.

Brook Lynn: Well, maybe we can have a private screening someday soon.

TJ: I want to be the kind of doctor that — that people are happy to see again. And I want them to trust me, to know that I will move heaven and earth for them. And — and to be the kind of doctor that can provide solace when healing is impossible.

Britt: And how’s that going for you so far?

TJ: I did all I could to save Harmony. But when I had to break the news to her daughter last night, every bit of confidence, all of my training went out the window, and I felt completely out of my depth.

Britt: Well, Dr. Ashford, congratulations. You’re still human. [ Chuckles ] But you can’t tell when the losses are gonna hit. You could go a whole year without one.

TJ: Mm.

Britt: And then you could have three in one hour.

TJ: Damn.

Britt: You may need to learn not to internalize every loss. I mean, that is — that takes a toll.

TJ: What do you suggest?

Britt: Self-care. I-I know it’s an overused, crunchy granola term these days, but the whole concept of putting an oxygen mask on first on an airplane — you have to take care of you first. I know it sounds selfish, but it’s the first step in helping others.

TJ: I-I will remember that, but do you have any recommendations or suggestions for self-care?

Britt: Uh, I mean, find something that brings you peace. For some people, it’s exercise and therapy — for others, it’s a hobby or spending time with loved ones. You’ve been here all night, right?

TJ: And I still have all day.

Britt: While you were worrying about Willow’s family, have you had time to check in on your own? How’s Molly doing after her mom was attacked?

TJ: I spoke with her briefly, and — and she’s upset, of course, but, you know, she’s Molly.

Britt: I don’t know what that means.

[ Both laugh ]

TJ: Okay. Not only is she holding it together, but she’s holding everyone together.

Britt: That sounds rough. It’s a lot. You’ve had a rough night. Just say the word, and I can have you covered.

TJ: You mean…?

Britt: I mean, I’m saying you can go home. [ Laughs ] This is the time, TJ, in the beginning of your career where you have to determine what matters most to you and make it a priority. Otherwise, you can count on having many more dark, lonely nights of the soul. [ Sighs ]

Willow: Thank you. But please just tell me why my mother tried to kill Carly and Alexis last night.

Carly: At Alexis’s house, I found papers that implicated Harmony in a crime, and to stop me from exposing it, Harmony attacked me and drugged me.

Willow: I know all that. What I don’t know is why. What was my mother trying to hide?

Dante: Harmony had killed before.

Violet: Thank you for making my tea party such a delightful occasion.

Brook Lynn: Mm.

Violet: I’m gonna go clean this up now. Don’t have any fun without me.

Chase: [ Laughs ]

Brook Lynn: [ Chuckles ] Aww, Violet wanted to clean up by herself? I’ll never be able to raise a kid who’s half as well-mannered as her.

Chase: Are you kidding me? You’re gonna be a great mom.

Brook Lynn: I don’t know.

Chase: I’ve seen you in action, remember?

Brook Lynn: [ Sighs ]

Chase: Uh, how’s Leo? Is he feeling any better about his upcoming performance?

Brook Lynn: He’s still nervous, but you definitely helped.

Chase: I think we helped. We make a good team.

Brook Lynn: But there’s only so much we could do. I mean, drama therapy is definitely helping, but stage fright is very, very real.

Chase: Even when you’re not the one performing?

Brook Lynn: [ Sighs ]

Chase: Have you written any songs lately?

Brook Lynn: Nope. [ Scoffs ]

Chase: You are a gifted songwriter, Brook Lynn.

Terry: [ Scoffs ] And it sucks that Amy had a rough night, but it doesn’t excuse the way she spoke to me.

Britt: I’ll address it with her.

Terry: I was just going to have Epiphany talk to her.

Britt: I—I’d like a shot at it. Use the carrot instead of the stick. It’s–it’s a thing I’m trying.

Dante: The body of Brendon Byrne surfaced off pier 54. We have evidence that Harmony murdered him.

Willow: But why would my mother kill Brendon Byrne? Did he have a connection to Dawn of Day and Shiloh?

Dante: Well, the only connection we are aware of is that he was Dr. Neil Byrne’s brother, whom Harmony also murdered.

Michael: Hold on, are — are you saying that Harmony murdered a man to conceal that she killed his brother and then tried to kill my mom and Alexis to cover?

Dante: That’s what I’m saying.

Willow: I’m sorry. That — that can’t be right. My mother had her faults, but she was kind, compassionate. She was not a murderer.

Dante: Uh, Willow… Harmony committed a crime years ago, and she went to great lengths to hide it.

Willow: Having to do with her past?

Dante: Having to do with her past… and yours.

TJ: I took your advice. I called Molly, and she wants to curl up on the couch, watch “Star Wars,” and eat vegan pizza.

Britt: Sounds like the perfect way to recharge.

TJ: So I would like to take you up on your offer, if that’s okay.

Britt: Go. Leave. Be with your domestic partner.

TJ: Awesome. I just need to tie up a few things, and I’ll be on my way.

Britt: Okay. I will hold down the fort. Enjoy that vegan pizza. And, TJ, May the 4th be with you. Besides, it’s not like I have anyone waiting for me tonight. [ Sighs ]

[ Footsteps approaching ]

Brook Lynn: That’s a really great idea. Leo can practice his poem for Violet.

Brook Lynn: [ Laughs ]

Chase: In terms of softball and describing how softball works.

Brook Lynn: Alright.

Violet: As long as we can bring the lightsabers.

Willow: So this crime my mom committed all those years ago, it was referenced in the papers you found?

Carly: They were session notes from dr. Byrne, who was apparently Harmony’s psychiatrist. And in the notes, dr. Byrne wrote that Harmony revealed a secret to him.

Willow: And what was the secret?

Carly: Uh, Willow…

Dante: Carly, I’m going to stop you before you go any further. Willow, I’m obligated to tell you that, uh, we have yet to verify these and other details, but having said that, we have no reason to doubt the veracity of the comments Dr. Byrne made that, uh, Harmony confessed to doing.

Willow: Thank you, Dante. I understand. Now, can somebody please just tell me?

Dante: Harmony was not your biological mother.

Harmony: She was…one of two. My Willow, she had another half.

Carly: Had another half? Was Willow a twin?

Harmony: Nelle…

Carly: Nelle? Oh my God.

Anna: We used to be facing down deadly assassins. Now we’re fighting over what to watch on tv.

Michael: Yeah. It’s on the outskirts of the city, and, uh, there is this huge, beautiful park right next to it. So we gotta go there. You know, it sounds like it rivals Central Park.

Willow: Then you know who would love it? Wiley.

Michael: Oh, yeah. Well, only if there’s dogs, because nothing is cool in Wiley’s world unless there’s dogs.

Willow: Right.

[ Elevator bell dings ]

Sasha: Willow. Uh, we’d like to wait with you, but—but if you don’t want us here, then we can—

Willow: No, no, of course I want you here. Yeah.

Sasha: Okay.

Willow: My mom’s awake, so that’s something.

Sasha: She is? That means that there’s hope, right?

Michael: There’s always hope.

Felicia: Well, it’s such a beautiful night. Why don’t we go, like, take a look at the stars?

Felicia: Is that the big dipper or the little dipper? I never can tell.

Mac: We just enjoyed being around Bailey so much. You know, it’s all the fun and none of the responsibility.

Robert: Except to keep the child safe and unharmed while the mother’s gone.

Mac: You know what I’m saying.

Robert: Yeah, I know what you mean. Being a granddad is great. Play with the kid, hand it back, go to bed.

Mac: Unless you don’t.

Robert: Uh, I’m not following.

Mac: What if… instead of the granddad, you’re the actual dad? What if you do the parenthood thing all over again?

Felicia: No! I’m not pregnant.

Anna: Oh, because for a second there, I thought —

Felicia: I think Mac wants a baby.

Robert: Will you stop talking in riddles and just get to the point?

Mac: I think Felicia wants a baby.

Valentin: [ Chuckles ] Thanks.

Nina: Wherever you’ve been, it looks good on you, Valentin. So, are you fully recovered? Back to your old self?

Valentin: Hope not. I’d like to think I’ve done some growing.

Nina: I’d like to think that, too. About me. Not about you. Well, maybe a little about you, too. How’s Charlotte?

Valentin: She’s wonderful.

Nina: Yeah. She seems like she’s really enjoying boarding school.

Valentin: You’ve been in touch with her?

Nina: Yeah, I’ve talked to her. And I have to admit, I was a little surprised. I didn’t think you had it in you to part with your little girl.

Valentin: It wasn’t easy. After peter abducted Charlotte, I wanted her far away from Port Charles and Victor.

Nina: Yeah, but wasn’t Victor the one that dropped her off at school? I’m only saying that because Charlotte made it a point to say she wished it had been you.

Valentin: I was laid up recuperating. I figured, at the very least, I could trust Victor with the drop off.

Nina: Don’t forget about me. I’m always here. Especially when it comes to Charlotte.

Valentin: I like that. And I’ll keep that in mind.

Sonny: Lenny?

Lenny: That’s right.

Sonny: This is the firehouse where I used to dance with Nina.

Lenny: Sure is. And once again, your wardrobe is lacking. Good thing I came prepared. It’s yours. Might as well take it. Oh. Perfect fit.

Sonny: [ Chuckles ] This is not real. I-I-I can’t be here. Is this…?

Lenny: Oop, oop. Give me one good reason.

Sonny: First of all, you’re dead, Lenny.

Lenny: Look who’s talking. When you crawled out of that river, weren’t you a goner? A funeral thrown for you back home and everything?

Sonny: Yeah, that was different.

Lenny: All depends on how you look at it. And it looks to me like you could use a stiff one. What’s your poison these days, Mike?

Sonny: Club soda.

Lenny: Come again?

Sonny: Oh, things have changed since the last time I saw you.

Lenny: Good thing I’ve got nothing but time. Why don’t you start from the beginning, when you went back to Port Charles?

Michael: We wouldn’t be anywhere else.

Brando: And if there’s anything that we can do, at all…

Willow: Trust me, you’re doing it.

Carly: I get it. I really do. I was raised by my adoptive mother, but it wasn’t kept a secret. Harmony, the longer you take to say it out loud, the harder it’s going to be to say it.

Harmony: If I had just been brave enough, it wouldn’t have gone this far.

Carly: You mean with Neil?

Harmony: No. If I had just told the truth… there would have been more time. Things would have been different, but now it’s gone too far. And Willow isn’t safe with her. And now Willow… can never know.

Anna: Look, Bailey is the most adorable little baby, and I can completely understand Mac wishing to have one exactly like her, but —

Felicia: maybe it’s more than just wishing.

Anna: You think he’s serious about having another child?

Felicia: I don’t know.

Anna: Or adopting one?

Felicia: I mean, we haven’t gotten that far yet, and I’m not even sure what he’s saying. I’m — I’m just — I’m getting this vibe.

Anna: What about your vibe?

Felicia: What?

Anna: Well, I mean, Mac may want to raise another child, but do you want to, really?

Robert: Okay. Now, have we got that all out of our system?

Mac: Thank you.

Robert: Good. Because it’s my turn. I got a story. This is about an old man who becomes a father. Except he thinks that the diaper that needs changing is his own.

Mac: Ha-ha.

Robert: Hey, seriously. I’ll never forget the fact that you raised my little girl at a time that I couldn’t.

Mac: Helping to raise Robin was one of the ultimate joys of my life, and I will always think of Maxie and Georgie as mine. But Felicia and I, we never — we never were able to bring up a kid together.

Robert: W-wait, wait. This isn’t just Felicia? You want this, too?

Sonny: I still can’t believe that Carly and I are divorced. I thought we would last, you know, until…

Lenny: “until death do us part”?

Sonny: [ Chuckles ]

Lenny: Mm. Take it from me — death is easy compared to divorce. Phyllis can still put flowers on my grave, think of me when they’re playing our song, remember the two of us at our best, and not our worst.

Sonny: I envy her that.

Lenny: You have kids? How are they taking it?

Sonny: Well, uh, they’re young. Donna and Avery, you know, they’re a bit confused, but they miss Carly. But Carly’s really good at seeing them as much as possible.

Lenny: They’ll be all right.

Sonny: My son, who’s having a big problem with it, he’s grown up, but it’s — it’s put a strain on our relationship.

Lenny: What’s his name?

Sonny: Michael.

Lenny: Michael. I like that name. Is he in the “family business”?

Sonny: He wanted to be at some point, but I — I shut it down. And now, forget about it. He don’t even… he don’t even want any part of me or my life.

Lenny: Don’t give up on him. That’s an order.

Sonny: No, I would never give up on my son. But… he’s given up on me.

Lenny: What, just because you’re not with his mother anymore?

Sonny: That’s part of it.

Lenny: And what’s the other part?

Sonny: Nina.

Nina: [ Laughs ] Really?

Valentin: She’s already made the equestrian team. You should ask her about it next time you talk to her.

Nina: Oh, I definitely will. And I am truly impressed. I mean, I’m sure that the competition was fierce. An elite European boarding school?

Valentin: An elite European boarding school where the students not only ride, but they have their own string of expensive horses.

Nina: Fancy. Exactly my point. And she rode one of the horses at the school and she still made the team! Your daughter is a very talented rider, a true competitor.

Valentin: No argument there.

Nina: Okay. Now out with it.

Valentin: Out with what?

Nina: How badly do you miss her?

Valentin: Desperately. I miss her desperately.

Nina: Oh. Is there, like, a parents’ weekend or something like that coming up?

Valentin: I don’t know. I hope so. I’ll have to check the, uh, school website.

Nina: And it must have been really hard for you after everything that happened with Bailey.

Valentin: Yeah, I loved her.

Nina: I know you did.

Valentin: But I’ve come to appreciate that Brook Lynn did what she had to do. It was the right thing to protect Maxie’s daughter from Peter.

Nina: But it’s painful. I can see it in your eyes. You know that I know what it’s like to lose a child. But it’s even more painful when it turns out that she was never yours.

Sasha: [ Sniffles ]

[ Pill case snaps shut ]

Sasha: Do you even realize… if you would have taken one of these and they found it in your system? No. You have been given a second chance. Don’t blow it.

Sasha: [ Inhales sharply ]

[ Toilet flushes ]

[ Knock on door ]

Brando: Sasha? You okay?

[ Knock on door ]

Sasha: Yeah. I’ll be right there.

Willow: God, I’m just so aware of it now.

Michael: Of what?

Willow: All the time I kept my mom at arm’s length. Not that she didn’t deserve to be, though it was always more about protecting myself than it was about punishing my mom.

Michael: No, Willow, you had every right to want to distance yourself.

Willow: But now it’s just staring me in the face. My mom could be dying, and I can, like, feel it on my heart, all the time I could have spent with her, all the things I could have said to her. I know I made the right decision for myself back then.

Michael But you still wish you could get that time back.

Willow: So much.

Carly: Who can never know? Willow can never know that she’s adopted?

Harmony: She loves too much, too hard. She’s obsessive and possessive. She’ll try to take her away from Michael. She — she’s dangerous.

Carly: Are you talking about Willow’s biological mother? Do you know who she is?

Harmony: She’s… she’s bad for Willow, and Willow knows it. She hates her.

Carly: Willow knows this person?

Harmony: She was… one of two. My Willow, she had another half.

Carly: Had another half? Was Willow a twin?

Harmony: Nelle…

Carly: Nelle? Oh, my god. Nina is Willow’s biological mother?

Harmony: [ Strained ] You need to protect her. Nina’s love will smother her. Please, Carly.

[ Monitors alarming ]

Harmony: Please.

Carly: We’ll take care of her, I promise you. Willow will be okay; I promise you that.

Harmony: [ Hyperventilating ]

[ Monitors alarming ]

TJ: Carly, move. Ms. Miller? No pulse.

Amy: Pads are ready.

TJ: Charge.

[ Paddles whine ]

Nurse: Charging loaded.

TJ: Clear.

[ Monitors continue alarming ]

TJ: One, two, three, four… five, six, seven, eight…

Amy: I’m going to get the ambu bag ready.

Valentin: You know I will always regret what I’ve done to you — using Sasha to manipulate your emotions to win your heart back.

Nina: Well, the irony is, you already had my heart.

Valentin: I know.

Nina: But now I can see that your intentions were good.

Valentin: You can?

Nina: Yeah. You just wanted to give me the… the one thing that I was missing in my life. It’s a beautiful sentiment.

Valentin: Poorly executed.

Nina: Oh, poorly executed.

Valentin: And, ironically, Nelle was in town the whole time.

Nina: It’s crazy, right? I-I still can’t believe that Nelle was my daughter and everything that played out after that — that I discovered that Carly kept the truth from me, and that she had a hand in Nelle’s death. It set a chain of events in motion that continues to this day.

Valentin: Sonny Corinthos… is he a link in that chain?

Lenny: Hallelujah! You finally got up the gumption to tell Nina how you feel about her.

Sonny: Well, let me tell you something. I don’t know what we are. We’re — Nina and I are just kind of like a slow dance for now.

Lenny: Oh, you and your slow dances. They’re nice and all, but what do they get you?

Sonny: Take it easy, there, Lenny.

Lenny: Or what? I’ll bust a blood vessel? Uh, been there, done that.

Sonny: [ Laughs ]

Lenny: Yeah? You listen up. If you keep waiting for the right moment, next thing you know, you’ll be turning up daisies like yours truly.

Sonny: You know, I always appreciated you and Phyllis’ love. I mean, it was real, honest. Not always perfect, but it was tough…

Lenny: Mm-hmm.

Sonny: …Like you can go through anything in life. What’s — what’s the secret?

Lenny: No secret. You just try to give more than you get, that’s all. And if you both do that, you can’t lose.

Sonny: Well, you know who gave me a gift? Nina.

[ Telephones ringing in distance ]

Brando: Hi. This hospital holds painful memories. But if there’s good news tonight…

Sasha: I know. It’s a beginning.

[ Footsteps approaching ]

Michael: Mom?

Carly: You need to get back to the ICU.

Felicia: I’m not sure how I feel about raising a child at this stage of my life. I mean, let’s face it, I’m a grandmother of three.

Anna: Oh, yes. But don’t let that be the thing to stop you. You’re very young at heart, and in all the ways that count.

Felicia: Well, thank you for saying that.

Anna: I mean it. [ Sighs ] Gosh. If this really is something that you and Mac both want…

Felicia: Well, that’s just it. I’m not sure. I don’t know.

Anna: Uh, don’t you think this is a conversation you should be having with your husband?

Felicia: Ya think?

Anna: Yeah.

Felicia: [ Sighs ] Mac and I have shared so many adventures. Raising a child together isn’t one of them.

Anna: Whatever you decide, I’ll always be in your corner.

Felicia: Thank you. Well, maybe it’s all in my head. A kid? That’s probably the last thing Mac wants. [ Laughs ]

Mac: Maybe I’ve got it all wrong. Maybe the last thing Felicia wants is a baby.

Robert: Well, there’s one way to find out. Let’s go and ask her. Come on.

Mac: What?! No, don’t. You better not, I swear. If you say anything —

Robert: What are you gonna do? [ Laughs ]

Robert: Ladies. What’s it like out there?

Nina: What Sonny and I had, that was in Nixon Falls. Now that we’re back in Port Charles, he has a life, he has a family, he has responsibilities, and so do I.

Valentin: Sounds very sensible and thought out, and I don’t believe a word of it.

Nina: Excuse me?

Valentin: The tone of your voice changes when you mention his name.

Nina: D-don’t tell me that you’re jealous. [ Chuckles ]

Valentin: When you say his name, there is a notable change in the tone of your voice, and that tells me that you’re more than just two people living separate lives.

Nina: And I’m sure you’re going to tell me your opinion on all this.

Valentin: [ Sighs ] Whatever happens — maybe you get everything you want, maybe it comes crashing down — I want you to know… you can count on me.

Nina: I’ll keep that in mind.

Sasha: I really thought that Willow’s mom was going to be okay, that she was going to make it.

Brando: Hey, we don’t know anything yet, okay? M-maybe she’s gone into surgery, she’s taken a turn for the worse and —

Sasha: Or I could have killed her.

Brando: Hey, it was an accident. Listen to me. Willow knows that. Everyone knows that.

Sasha: Why is this happening?

Willow: Oh, my god. She’s gone, isn’t she?

TJ: We did everything we could. Willow, w-we did everything we could. I’m so sorry.

Willow: [ Crying ]

Felicia: [ Sighs ]

Mac: Felicia…

Felicia: Shh! Don’t say anything, otherwise it won’t come true.

Robert: To Mac and Felicia.

Anna: May they get everything they wish for.

Robert: Hmm. May the person who gets the remote get everything they want.

TJ: It’s — it’s a good thing you’re here. Willow’s gonna need her friends now more than ever.

Willow: I need you to know that I forgive you and I love you… so much more than you probably ever realized. Do you remember our picnic in that meadow in Colorado? When you braided my hair, you put all those wildflowers in it. [ Sniffles ] I don’t know if I’ve ever felt so beautiful or free. There were good memories, too, okay? Filled with magic, laughter… love. Those are the ones I’ll tell Wiley about. You hold on tight to them, Mom. I will, too. [ Crying ]

Harmony: You have to protect her. Nina’s love will smother her. Please, Carly. Please.

Carly: It’s okay. We got her. Willow is going to be okay.

Nina: Yeah, and Aunt Liesl, she actually just got a better offer, and I wasn’t ready to go home yet.

Nina: Yeah, me, too. But, actually, I’m surprised that you did.

Willow: My mom woke up, so I take it as a good sign.

Willow: Dr. Ashford’s in with her now, taking her off the respirator, so she must be getting stronger. Maybe I won’t lose my mother after all. How is she?

Maxie: I want to see you tomorrow.

Austin: Good.

Maxie: But Georgie and James, they have activities, and I need to bake or throw myself at the mercy of Eckert’s for four dozen cupcakes, which will most likely clean them out.

Austin: Maxie, it’s okay. If you don’t want to hang out tomorrow night, that’s — just say so.

Maxie: I do want to hang out tomorrow night. I do not want to ask my parents to babysit two nights in a row. And I don’t want to have you over and run the risk of my kids having a meltdown on you.

Austin: Okay, you don’t need to convince me of anything, really, but it does sound like you’re trying to convince yourself a little bit.

Maxie: Of what?

Austin: Well, that, you’re busy, that you’re too busy. But it’s okay. Maybe just, you know, two nights in a row is too much too soon.

[ Phone clatters ]

Elizabeth: What was that?

Finn: It’s okay. It’s okay.

Elizabeth: Oh. [ Chuckles ]

Finn: You just knocked something over. You knocked over your phone.

Elizabeth: I’m sorry. I got a little carried away. [ Chuckles ]

Finn: It’s alright. I like when you get carried away. I’m all for it.

Elizabeth: Being here with you, not thinking about the house or being scared, it feels really nice.

Finn: I’m glad you feel safe here.

Elizabeth: ‘Cause I’m with you.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Elizabeth: Oh. I’m sorry.

[ Both chuckle ]

Elizabeth: It’s Cameron. Just be a second. Hold on. Hi. Yeah, I’m okay. Finn’s here, so you don’t have to worry about me.

Maxie: Maybe you’re right. Going out two nights in a row doesn’t seem like that big of a deal. Or at least it wasn’t before I had kids. I’m not going to say, “I’m a different person now,” but I am still me. I’m just me with a lot less free time.

Austin: I get it.

Maxie: Really?

Austin: [ Chuckles ] No, not — not — not really, but… okay, what I’m about to say — I am in no way equating medical school with being a parent. Okay. But, you know, medical school’s really time-consuming, and everybody tells you that, you know, and you think you understand that, but you don’t at all until you’re in the middle of it, and then you realize that it’s been weeks since you had a minute to yourself so you could lay down in the grass and look at the sky. Time-wasting becomes a memory and spontaneity a thing of the past.

Maxie: Very perceptive.

Austin: Thanks. I’m super smart.

Maxie: [ Chuckles ] And very true. I used to be a spontaneous person. Probably too impulsive. It got me into trouble a few times.

Austin: I’ll bet. You miss that?

Maxie: Certain aspects of it. But I wouldn’t trade the life I have now for that in a million years. And something like going out one night and having a really good time just so I could do it again the next night? That doesn’t seem practical.

Austin: Mm-hmm.

Maxie: And that defines the difference. Now, when I think about going out, I have to figure out if it’s practical or not.

Austin: Right. Maxie, if this were just about time management, that would not be a problem. That’s okay. But it does seem to me like you’re just looking for an excuse to push me away.

Lucy: I will forgive you your long, long absences if you promise to greet me like this every time you return.

Martin: Well, I would’ve been back a lot sooner, if at all possible.

Lucy: [ Chuckles ] So, how’s your mom?

Martin: Mother’s fine. Could we not discuss her while we’re naked?

Lucy: [ Chuckles ] Point taken.

Lucy: Did I tell you how much I really, really, really missed you?

Martin: Oh, I think you just did, and the feeling’s mutual. But I am sorry that I missed your big deception IPO launch.

Lucy: Oh, me, too, because it was an amazing experience. It would’ve been a lot better if you had been there. You know, I just was not sure how lucrative the IPO was going to be.

Martin: Oh, yes, you were.

Lucy: Yes, I was.

[ Both laugh ]

Lucy: And it was so glorious to be proven right. And you know what the other best part is?

Martin: Mm?

Lucy: Well, besides oodles and oodles of nice cash.

Martin: There is that.

Lucy: We can stop hiding our relationship.

Martin: I don’t think Valentin would be any more open to the idea of me being seen with his wildly successful business partner.

Lucy: Who cares? Fire him as a client. You don’t need him. I am very rich.

Martin: Why, Lucy Coe, are you suggesting that I become a kept man?

TJ: Your mother is breathing on her own. She’s — she’s getting supplemental oxygen, and she’s in and out of consciousness, which is to be expected. Your mom is still in critical condition. We had to cut her surgery short because she’s hypotensive. So hopefully she improves through the night, and we can go back in tomorrow and complete the surgery.

Willow: Can I see her?

Michael: It might help Harmony to hear Willow’s voice again.

TJ: That’s true. I never doubt the power of a mother’s love, so you can go in alone. And, Willow, it’s vital that your mom remains calm because any stress could cause a setback that — that she might not recover from.

TJ: That’s got to make this even harder for her. I understand having a difficult relative that you’re not sure about letting into your life completely. You and Willow both have my sympathy.

Michael: How do you do that? How do you — how do you genuinely care about someone who tried to kill Molly’s mom?

TJ: First of all, I took an oath about doing no harm, but beyond that, it comes down to humanity. People who do bad things, people who we don’t like, are still people. So it’s not my job to judge, Michael. It’s my job to heal. And if I ever cross that line, it’s time to put down my stethoscope.

Michael: I’m guessing my mom told you as much as she told me, that she went to Alexis’ house, Harmony was there, they got into a fight, and then Harmony — Harmony drugged her.

Willow: [ Scoffs ] But why?

Michael: I don’t know.

Willow: Well, your mom does.

Michael: [ Sighs ] Yes, and she’ll tell you, okay? She will. But Willow, knowing right now, whatever it is, it’s not going to change anything. We just — we have to wait. And I get it. Waiting is torture, but… sometimes it’s best not to know, at least in the short term. That way you can just focus on what’s right in front of you, and that is that Harmony’s in critical condition, and that’s scary, right, but she’s made it this far, she loves you, and she’s going to get through this. Maybe that is all that matters.

Harmony: [ Weakly ] Willow.

Carly: Willow’s here. She just stepped out, but I can text her.

Harmony: No, I need to… I have to…

Sonny: Well, actually, I’m just taking in the sights, and they’re incredibly beautiful. You look good.

Nina: Oh, I think they only work in Nixon Falls, although they’re a lot more comfortable than these heels.

Michael: Look, I’m sorry. I was completely out of line. No, just Willow — Willow’s a wreck. I saw my mom briefly in the E.R., But I… couldn’t say anything to her. And then I explain to my son why Willow and I won’t be home to tuck him in tonight. Kept asking me why, and I can’t — I can’t — I can’t say why. How — how — I can’t explain what’s going on with both his grandmothers.

Britt: And helplessness is not a trait you’re comfortable with.

Michael: No, but still, I shouldn’t have — shouldn’t have lashed out like that.

Britt: It’s frustrating waiting for answers, I know.

Doctor: Dr. Westbourne. Dr. Ashford and i need to consult with you.

Britt: Will you excuse me?

Sam: I don’t understand how she can befriend you after everything you’ve done for her. Mm. She seeking some sort of an absolution?

Alexis: If so, she’s not getting it from me. I won’t let her deflect blame either. I want Harmony to fully understand the extent of her destruction.

Sam: You want closure.

Alexis: Which I might never get if Harmony doesn’t survive.

Britt: We need to find Willow now.

Michael: She’s in the chapel.

Alexis: Excuse me. Do you have an update on Harmony miller?

Sam: Mom.

Alexis: Is she out of surgery?

Britt: Ms. Miller’s family will be notified first. We’ll let you know.

Sam: Uh, okay. The hell with this. Um, excuse me, doctor. I just saw you with dr. Westbourne. I’m Harmony Miller’s niece. This is her sister. Is she out of surgery?

Doctor: She is.

Sam: She is? Oh, thank goodness. Would you happen to know what room she’s in?

Carly: Your mother attacked me and Alexis.

Willow: Wait. Oh, my — are — are you okay?

Carly: Yes, I’m fine.

Willow: What — no, no, no. What ha– what happened?

Carly: We are both fine.

Willow: Why would my mom attack you?

Carly: I was at Alexis’s house. Harmony was there. We got into a fight, and Harmony stuck me with a syringe and she drugged me.

Willow: My — my mother drugged you? W-what were you fighting about?

Carly: I discovered a secret that Harmony wanted to keep.

Willow: What would be so bad that my mom would attack you?

Carly: I know you have a lot of questions. Starting with how Harmony ended up on Rana Point. She drove us there in my SUV. I don’t know what happened because I was unconscious, but when I woke up, I could hear Harmony and Alexis arguing. And when I climbed out of the trunk, Harmony was about to attack Alexis.

Willow: Oh, my god. That is… I don’t understand.

Carly: I was able to stop Harmony, but when she heard Alexis calling 911, she took off for the woods and she must have found the road, and that’s where she jumped in front of Sasha’s car.

Willow: But why did my mom attack you in the first place? What secret was she trying to keep? Whatever it is, I can handle it. I promise.

[ Door opens ]

Michael: Hey.

Carly: Hey.

Michael: Willow, there’s an update on your mom.

Carly: Um, this can wait, alright? I’m going to give you some privacy.

Willow: How is she?

Britt: Harmony made it through surgery. She did, however, suffer several substantial injuries. She’s been admitted to the ICU.

Willow: What’s wrong with her?

Britt: She had significant internal bleeding, as well as damage to multiple organs. The surgical team did all they could, but your mom became severely hypotensive and they had to stop operating. For now, we will continue to stabilize her while evaluating the extent of her injuries.

Michael: Will she need further surgery?

Britt: That’s still being determined.

Willow: Can I see her?

Britt: She’s unconscious, but she’s allowed visitors.

Willow: Thank you. All this time in nursing school and my mind is…blank. What does this mean?

Michael: It’s still touch and go.

Willow: So now it’s up to my mom to survive.

Alexis: [ Sighs ] This seems wrong. What if Harmony’s not even awake?

Sam: Then we stay until she opens her eyes.

Finn: Violet and I spent the whole afternoon at the nail salon. I actually got a nice lavender high gloss, but it didn’t go with my shoes. Violet, however, is over the moon, in between her Uncle Chase staying with her and her new manicure, she barely acknowledged my departure.

Elizabeth: Staying with her? You make it sound like he’s moved in.

Finn: Yes, temporarily. I booked the room next to you.

Elizabeth: Finn! The whole point of staying here was so that I’d feel safe and away from whoever’s stalking me. I don’t want you upending your life for me. I’ll be fine.

Finn: Mm. You know, Elizabeth, you’re, um… you’re always brave for everyone else. It’s… it’s okay to admit you need someone, too. It’s kind of why I’m here. I… and because I owe you.

Elizabeth: For what?

Finn: Where to start? When I thought I killed Peter August, when I was working myself into the ground to find a cure for Chase, I wasn’t the easiest person to be around during all that. And you showed me nothing but kindness and you were supportive. And it’s the least I can do to thank you.

Spinelli: I’m just, uh, working on a new business venture.

Spinelli: It’s still in the planning stages, but, you know, when I’m ready to launch, you’ll be the first to know.

Sonny: Well, you know, it looks like you got a lot going on in your life.

Spinelli: I honestly don’t know what you mean, Mr. Corinthos.

Sonny: Well, I mean, a new business venture, maybe even a new woman.

Nina: What the hell was that? You completely ignored Sonny.

Liesl: The man threatened mein Scott.

Nina: Because Scott provoked him.

Liesl: So Scott was asking for it?

Nina: Oh, Liesl. You know about Scott and Sonny’s history and their tempers. Sonny won’t hurt Scott again as long as your boyfriend doesn’t go around looking for trouble.

Liesl: I don’t care who seeks out whom. If something happens to Scott, Sonny Corinthos will feel my wrath.

Nina: What? You mean you’re gonna take on Sonny? That’s a good one.

Liesl: Mob hits and gunfights will be pleasant memories compared to my vengeance.

Felicia: Mm-hmm. You were a father to them in every way that counted. I was and I still am very grateful for that. But surely you wish that you would have had a child of your own, one we could have raised together?

Mac: That would have been nice.

Alexis: This is ridiculous. How am I supposed to talk to you while you’re like this? I wanted to tell you how absolutely furious I am with you. Furious doesn’t even begin to cover it. I never asked for your friendship, but you came along when I needed it most. And I valued our friendship, stood up for you when everyone told me to dump you. Now I learn your friendship was just a way to clear your conscience about killing Neil. I saw glimpses of a good person in you, Harmony. Was any of it even real? Maybe you could have had a different life. You could have had a relationship with Willow based on honesty.

Sonny: Well, maybe not new, but rediscovered, ’cause I saw the way you were looking at Maxie when she walked out with her boyfriend.

Austin: Eh, it was pretty good.

Maxie: Hey, the way you downed that foie gras, I think you thought it was more that pretty good.

Austin: Okay, so here’s the thing. Like, my — my life so far, my tastes have run towards the can of beans and hot dog over an open fire kind of thing. Turns out… goose liver is delicious.

Mac: Well, Maxie’s always had expensive taste.

Felicia: Well, there’s nothing wrong with enjoying the finer things in life.

Mac: All I’m saying is it’s a good thing Maxie’s company went public so she can pay for those finer things.

Maxie: Hey, it’s better than when I used to run up your credit card in high school, right?

Mac: [ Laughs ] Yeah, well, we can all laugh about it now, but wait till it’s your turn. I mean, you know, it may seem like years off, but blink, and before you know it, your own kids will be running up their own extracurricular shopping.

Liesl: I told you not to date the cat man. If you want an attentive person, find someone with a ferret.

Elizabeth: At first it sounded like a completely different voice. Almost otherworldly. Obviously, I misheard him. It was a really long day.

Elizabeth: I am not sleeping, I’m stressed, I…

Finn: But?

Elizabeth: But between Aiden’s Ouija board and hearing Lucy talk about her beliefs, I don’t know what to think anymore, other than I’m completely losing it.

Finn: No. No, I… I can’t imagine anyone else handling this as well as you have. These occurrences would have broken a weaker person. I mean… I already knew you were strong, but I’m… kind of in awe of you.

Elizabeth: I don’t feel strong. Or awesome.

Carly: A secret about Willow. And before you ask, I need to tell Willow first. I’m just debating whether I tell her tonight, because she’s got a hell of a lot going on right now.

Michael: Look, mom, you don’t have to protect Willow. She’s strong, and she deserves to know the secret that her mother was willing to kill for.

[ Monitor beeping ]

Willow: If you don’t come back to me, we’ll never know if we can sort this out. I have so many things I didn’t get to say to you. We have a lifetime of things left to say to each other. Please, mom, give us that chance, I’m begging you.

[ Sobbing ]

Carly: No, Mom, I’m fine. I’m fine. In fact, they discharged me. No, no. I’m going to wait around to see if Harmony is alright. You know, for Willow’s sake. Her whole world has been turned upside down tonight.

Michael: I texted Josslyn. She’s on her way, so I’m not going anywhere. Unless you — unless you want to be alone.

Willow: No, no. I want you here. I want you here with me. [ Sighs ] What was my mother doing walking down a road at night in the woods by herself? It doesn’t make any sense.

Michael: I don’t know. Hopefully — hopefully, we’ll know more soon.

Willow: My mom and I just started getting close. If she doesn’t make it, I will never forgive myself for pushing her away.

Sasha: [ Breathing heavily ]

Gladys: There you are. Oh, God, you bolted so fast, your shoes left skid marks.

Sasha: Willow didn’t see me, did she?

Gladys: No, no, no, no. Poor thing is a mess. Michael’s taking her to the chapel, or at least they were going in that direction. And it’s probably gonna be a while before the doctors have anything to tell her about her mom. Unless, of course… oh, unless — unless it’s not as bad as we thought. Okay, okay. Let’s get you to a chair. You need to — you’re gonna be okay.

Sasha: No.

Brando: Sasha.

Sasha: No, I need to get out of here.

Brando: It’s okay. I got you.

Sasha: No, Brando. No, it’s not okay. I might’ve killed Willow’s mother.

Nikolas: I shouldn’t have taken for granted that you’d be coming home.

Ava: Are you wooing me?

Nikolas: What if I am? I mean, dinner may be a bust, but there’s still plenty of time for dessert.

Ava: It’s not gonna work. Why not? I have made my position clear. As long as Esme is here —

Nikolas: Esme isn’t here.

Ava: Since when?

Nikolas: My mother stopped by earlier. She got Sonny to give his word that no harm will come to Esme. And now Esme can go back to the mainland, and you and I can devote all of our time to each other.

Spencer: Trina, things with Esme, they’re complicated.

Trina: Except they’re not. Would you like me to explain to you what’s going on here?

Spencer: Sure. What do you think is going on?

Trina: You’re keeping me on the hook. I let myself believe that you can be a better person, and now you miss that feeling, so you’re trying to reel me in to your orbit.

Spencer: No, Trina, that is not —

Trina: Okay, then that’s the only explanation I can come up with as to why you’re giving me so many mixed signals.

Spencer: I’m not giving you mixed signals. I’m not.

Trina: Oh, really? Then what was that jealous act with Rory?

Spencer: I am not jealous of that guy.

Trina: So what? It doesn’t matter if you’re jealous or not. You made the choice. Deal with it. Just remember that you threw away our friendship for some psycho girlfriend.

Esme: I’m not the psycho, Trina. You are.

Josslyn: Mom.

Carly: Josslyn, what are you doing here?

Josslyn: Michael said that you were in the E.R. Are you — are you okay?

Carly: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m fine. I’m fine, sweetie. I am.

Josslyn: Okay. He said that Willow’s mom got in a car accident. Were you involved?

Carly: No. No, I was not there when Harmony was hit by a car.

Josslyn: Oh, my god, I’ve been freaking out the whole way here. If anything was to happen to you —

Carly: Oh, but it didn’t, okay? It didn’t.

Josslyn: I’m glad you’re okay. Wait, so what were you doing in the E.R.?

Willow: You would think at a time like this, it would be really easy to focus on the good times. But for me and my mom, there’s no good that isn’t touched by the bad. It’s impossible to separate the two.

Michael: Willow, you’re strong enough to forgive her. To see that she genuinely wanted to make up for A… [ Sighs ] A lifetime of… well, I don’t have to tell you.

Willow: I’ve accepted that my mom allowed horrible things to happen to me because Shiloh manipulated her. And even though it took me a long time to forgive her, she never gave up on me. For the first time in a very long time, I started to feel my mother’s love. I’m not ready to be without it again.

Brando: Can you tell me what happened?

Sasha: What happened is that Willow’s mom is fighting for her life, and it’s all my fault.

Gladys: It’s not all your fault.

Brando: How about we, um… how about we start from the beginning?

Sasha: This photographer, a paparazzi guy, he kept taking pictures of me at the Metro Court.

Gladys: Oh, she’s underselling it, Brando. This jerk was harassing her.

Sasha: It was just — it was too much, so we left. And the next thing I knew, this guy was chasing us down in his car. He was right behind me, flashing his high beams, and I couldn’t see anything.

Gladys: Yeah, and then this woman ran right out into the middle of the road.

Sasha: Ohh.

Gladys: [ Sighs ]

Sasha: I tried to swerve, Brando, but there wasn’t time.

Brando: Look, it’s — it’s — it’s okay. You didn’t do anything wrong. Alright? This was an accident.

Gladys: That is what I’ve been saying. If that sleaze ball hadn’t have been coming after us, we wouldn’t have been driving that fast down that stretch of road. We ought to sue him. So should Willow. Or Michael — he’s got lawyers.

Brando: What I don’t understand is why the photographer was chasing you.

Gladys: He had a reason.

Carly: And Harmony had a needle, and she managed to inject me.

Josslyn: Oh, god. What? Mom.

Carly: I know. I was in the back of my SUV when I woke up, and I could hear Alexis and Harmony arguing. And then when I got out of the car, we were parked on Rana Point. And I-I jumped Harmony and we fought and Harmony took off running when she heard Alexis calling 911.

Josslyn: Is Alexis okay?

Carly: Yeah. Yeah, she’s okay. Sam took her home earlier. I mean, Alexis is okay, but Harmony jumped in front of a car, and I saw her when they brought her to the hospital.

Josslyn: Oh, my god.

Carly: I know. I mean, Alexis and I, we weren’t there when Harmony was hit. I don’t know when she was hit because we didn’t chase after her. We stayed and we waited for the cops. And the paramedics brought us here.

Josslyn: Okay. Um…sorry, I’m confused. Why did Harmony attack you in the first place?

Carly: You’re not burning tax documents. These are notes from a therapy session with Dr. Neil Byrne.

Harmony: What?

Carly: What? “Harmony suffers from intense guilt about the child.”

Harmony: Those are private. Give them to me.

Carly: “Harmony rationalizes keeping the child.”

Harmony: This is all lies. Neil Byrne was a drug addict. Give it to me.

Carly: No. This is what you meant about Willow not being yours. That’s what you’re doing here, right? You’re burning papers that prove that Willow isn’t your biological daughter.

Carly: Because I — I found out something that Harmony was desperately trying to keep secret. Something Willow does not know.

Michael: You know, one thing I know about your mom is she is a fighter. There’s nothing she won’t do to find her way back to you.

Willow: When I escaped from Dawn of Day, I would tell myself that I didn’t need a mother. And at the time, I was — I was right. But when my mom turned against Shiloh, she began to change, to make amends. And more and more, she became the mother she should have been all along.

Michael: She tried, no question.

Willow: I finally understand why some women say they will always need their mother. Because right now… I need mine.

Brando: What reason did the photographer have for chasing you?

Gladys: I stole his memory card.

Brando: You did what? Why would you do that?

Gladys: Well, he wouldn’t stop taking pictures of Sasha, even though every last one of us told him to knock it off. Sasha was getting extremely upset, and I wasn’t about to let some parasite with a camera exploit my daughter-in-law.

Brando: Good on you, mom.

Sasha: Willow is not gonna care about any of that. All that matters is that I hit her mother with my car and she might die.

Brando: Honey, like I said, it was a terrible accident. You didn’t mean to do this. Willow will understand.

Sasha: What if Harmony doesn’t make it? Willow will never forgive me. No, I will never forgive myself.

Brando: Hey, hey, hey, hey. We don’t have any control over that, okay? So let’s not worry about “what ifs.” Right now, you just need to tell Willow what happened.

Glady: Does she? Willow has enough on her plate. Sasha’s a wreck. Can’t it wait?

Sasha: No. No, it can’t. The whole reason I came here is because Willow deserves to hear the truth from me. But I don’t think I can face her.

Brando: Alright. There is no right or wrong here.

Gladys; Mm. I don’t know if I’d put it like that.

Sasha: [ Sobs ]

Brando: Sasha, hey, whatever you choose to do, I am behind you 100%. But if you want to tell Willow right now… you are the strongest person I know, so I know you can do this.

Sasha: Let’s go.

Brando: Okay.

Trina: I’m the psycho? Says the girl who was lurking in the shadows for who knows how long.

Spencer: Esme, what are you doing here?

Esme: It’s bad enough that you have half of Port Charles blaming me for Josslyn and Cam’s sad little sex tape.

Trina: Oh, only half? I better step up my game.

Esme: Even though all of the evidence points to you, your lies got me kidnapped by Sonny Corinthos.

Spencer: Which is why you’re supposed to be back at Wyndemere right now.

Esme: That’s what I came here to tell you. Your grandmother — the mayor — personally intervened on my behalf. She forced Sonny to back down. I’m safe now.

Spencer: That’s great, Esme.

Trina: I call it a tragic waste of cement.

Esme: Thank God Trina didn’t manage to poison everyone against me. You know, how does it feel, Trina, knowing people finally see through your good girl act?

Ava: Why did Sonny back down?

Nikolas: My mother didn’t explain Sonny’s rationale, but she told Esme while I was present, so she is aware that the threat is over.

Ava: So when is she moving out? Nikolas.

Nikolas: The thing is —

Ava: Oh, come on!

Nikolas: [ Sighs ]

Ava: Tell me you’re not letting her stay.

Nikolas: No, Esme is definitely not staying. We just haven’t set a date for her to move out yet.

Ava: We have a staff! They can pack up her stuff. They can put it on the launch. They can have it waiting for her on the pier tonight.

Nikolas: Esme is not going to wait for a launch to bring her back from town and find her luggage waiting.

Ava: Wait. So Esme went to the mainland?

Nikolas: To tell Spencer the good news.

Ava: The good news is that she can stay there.

Nikolas: Well, there’s the matter of how she’ll support herself.

Ava: The girl has a trust fund.

Nikolas: No, she’s only given a pittance for an allowance.

Ava: Nikolas, she was sent to school in Paris. Her life has not exactly been the stuff of dickens.

Nikolas: I promise you, Ava, Esme will be leaving Wyndemere and Spoon Island soon.

Ava: She better.

Nikolas: And the best part is, once she’s gone, all of our problems go with her.

Ava: Oh, Nikolas. My sweet, beautiful husband. No. They don’t.

Nikolas: The root of all of our problems is that I invited Esme to move in without consulting you.

Ava: The roots go far deeper than that, my love.

Nikolas: Before I invited Esme to stay here, we were planning to renew our vows. Are you telling me you weren’t happy?

Ava: I was. But when you told Spencer and Esme they could move in, it made me realize that I’ve been ignoring some very real issues.

Nikolas: Such as? Start from the top. What is our biggest issue?

Ava: The fact that I don’t trust you. Don’t look so surprised. You don’t trust me either.

Nikolas: This isn’t about trust. This is about the fact that I chose my son. That’s what you really have an issue with, isn’t it?

Spencer: That is enough. Let’s go!

Esme: No! Spence, I’m not gonna stand for it anymore. Mark my words, Trina. The next time you lie about me, there will be consequences.

Trina: You talk a good game, Esme. But know this. I see you. And soon, one day, everyone is going to see you for who you are — a needy, entitled psychopath who hurts everyone around them and wonders where they went. You are going to be all alone with no one left to fool. Except maybe that idiot. Now… I’m gonna put this away. And when I come back, you will not be here. The gallery is closed, Esme. You’re trespassing.

Carly: Harmony’s still in surgery. I mean, they don’t think she’s gonna make it.

Josslyn: Mom, you seem pretty worried about someone who just tried to kill you.

Carly: I’m worried about Willow. I mean, she has so much on her mind right now. Maybe I should just wait to tell her. But Jordan knows, and the last thing I want is for Willow to find out in the course of an investigation. But Jordan went home. So they’re probably not gonna question Willow tonight. So maybe I just wait.

Josslyn: Yeah. I mean, that’s — that’s one way to look at it.

Carly: Okay, what’s the other way?

Josslyn: Mom, I mean, can telling Willow tonight really make things much worse?

Carly: [ Sighs ]

Willow: Right now… I need answers. And I think I’m feeling strong enough to get them.

Michael: Okay, then. Well, Joss should be here, so let’s go look for her and my mom and see if we can get an update on Harmony.

Michael: I’m guessing you — you heard about Harmony.

Brando: Uh…we’re aware of what happened.

Willow: We were just about to go check and see how my mom is doing.

Sasha: I’m sorry. I know this is a terrible time, but I need to talk to you. Alone.

Willow: Um, sure. Yeah. Michael?

Michael: Yeah, I’ll go check on your mom.

Willow: Okay. I’ll meet you there.

Michael: Alright.

Sasha: Thank you for being here.

Brando: Where else would I be? You got this, okay?

Willow: So what do you need to talk about?

Michael: I saw my mom in the E.R. Before. I just texted Joss to see if they’re still there.

Brando: What was your mom doing in the E.R. In the first place?

Michael: I don’t know. She still hasn’t told me, but she seemed okay, so I just — just been focused on Willow.

Brando: Rough night all around. Well, keep me posted about Carly. I’m gonna stay here and wait for Sasha.

Michael: Sounds good.

Smoltz: Well, well, well, if it isn’t the husband of the Face of Deception. My sources tell me your wife ran down a pedestrian tonight. Any comment?

Josslyn: I am so sorry that all of this has happened, but I know that you’re gonna make the best choice for Willow.

Carly: I appreciate your vote of confidence.

Carly: Gladys. What are you doing here?

Gladys: Uh…

Carly: Are Sasha and Brando okay?

Gladys: Physically, yes. I’m fine, too.

Carly: [ Chuckles ] I can see that.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Josslyn: I have to take this.

Carly: Okay.

Gladys: Has there been any word about how Harmony’s doing? Is she gonna pull through?

Carly: I don’t know. I don’t know. Why do you ask?

Gladys: Because I care deeply about the suffering of others. You might want to look into it sometime. Also, um…Sasha’s the one that ran her over.

Carly: Oh, my God.

Gladys: Yeah. Believe me, I know. I was in the car with her.

Carly: Where is Sasha now?

Gladys: Brando took her to see Willow. And I’m dreading what’s gonna happen when Sasha tells her.

Willow: So how did you find out about my mom? Did — did Carly call you?

Sasha: No, no, I — I know because, um… this is so hard to say. Um… okay. Gladys and I were driving down this — this back road. I was driving, and… this guy was chasing us. It’s not important why. The point is that he was flashing his high beams in my rearview. And, um…it was blinding, and I… I couldn’t see anything. The road was dark, and, um… and then out of nowhere… someone ran right in front my car. And I couldn’t see who it was until I got out to help, and, um… I’m so sorry, Willow. It was your mother.

Esme: Trina is not the one getting to me. Why is it that every time I see you, you’re having some kind of moment?

Spencer: What moment? We didn’t say anything that I wouldn’t have said in front of you.

Spencer: Not jealous. Annoyed. When I got here, she was talking to the cop who arrested me.

Esme: Why?

Spencer: This whole sex tape mess has the media harassing her.

Smoltz: Sure. About this pedestrian getting run down?

Brando: No comment.

Smoltz: Suit yourself. It’s better if I get a quote directly from Sasha Gilmore herself — or what did my source call her? Oh, yeah. “The face of Collision.”

Brando: You stay away from my wife.

Smoltz: Hey, I have rights under the first amendment, buddy.

Brando: Mr. Smoltz, is it?

Smoltz: Yeah.

Brando: I, uh — I fought for the U.S. Military to protect your rights, so I’m well aware of what they are. Now, the first amendment, that only protects you from government censorship. Michael, you run a media company. Do I have that right?

Michael: You sure do.

Brando: That’s what I thought. So… Mr. Smoltz…

Smoltz: Yeah?

Brando: Tell me, do I look like the government?

Smoltz: Uh…

Brando: Simple question.

Smoltz: No.

Brando: That’s right. Which means the first amendment won’t protect you if I catch you so much as breathing the same air as my wife. I will personally make sure that you are incapable of writing any story ever again. I doubt the journalism world would miss you. Not that they’d be able to find you if they did. Understood?

Sasha: It was an accident, I swear. I’m so sorry, Willow. I would do anything, I would give anything to make it so that this didn’t happen, okay? I… is there anything that I can do for you? I — sounds so stupid. Of course there’s nothing. But I’m here for you if you need anything, okay? I’m — I’m sure I’m the last person you want to see right now, so I’m just gonna go.

Willow: Sasha, wait. Were you with Carly and Alexis?

Sasha: What?

Willow: Carly and Alexis were with my mom before the accident.

Sasha: No, no, I was coming from the Metro Court.

Willow: Okay. I’m going to ask you a question, and it might seem a little strange. Okay, but I just need you to think. Did it seem like… seem like my mom… jumped in front of your car… on purpose?

Sasha: [ Stammers ] I don’t — I don’t know. It — it happened so fast, and… I felt more like she just didn’t see me. Look, I-I — I know that you and Harmony haven’t had the easiest relationship, but — but from what it looked like, you guys were making amends, and I’m… I am so sorry that this happened now because of me. Carly: Well, as long as I’ve known her, Sasha has weathered crisis after crisis, and she’s come back tougher every time.

Gladys: That was before. Since my grandson died, Sasha has been an open wound. If she killed her friend’s mother, what’s that gonna do to her?

Carly: We’re gonna get her through it. Okay? That’s what we’re gonna do.

Gladys: You — Carly, you didn’t see her with the photographer. I mean, she’s dealt with paparazzi before, right? She knows how to handle them even when they’re being jerks. But tonight, no, it’s like she was a different person. Panicked. Desperate. And the way she snapped… uh…excuse me. I…was going somewhere.

Carly: Okay.

Josslyn: Is everything okay with Sasha and Brando?

Carly: I… you know, I just need a hug. I need a hug.

Josslyn: Oh, mom. Are you sure you’re okay?

Carly: Yeah. It’s just been a night, you know? I mean, so much devastation and… [ Sighs ] I want you to know that I love you and I’m so grateful that I have you. My girl.

Ava: Spencer and I will never be each other’s favorite people. He’s your son. And I meant it when I said that I would keep my issues with him out of our relationship. Esme, though, was never part of that agreement.

Nikolas: As long as Esme is important Spencer, she is part of that agreement.

Ava: Oh, as long as Esme remains a threat to Trina, no, she’s not. But this isn’t about Spencer and Esme. This is about you and me.

Nikolas: You’re right. This is about our marriage and our partnership. And I should have consulted you before inviting Esme to stay here. But when you had a problem with Esme, you ran to Sonny instead of consulting me.

Ava: “Consulting” you? What was there to consult you about? Honestly. You — you were giving that horrid little monster the benefit of the doubt while she was framing Trina for something even her so-called victims know she didn’t do.

Nikolas: So you’re determined to punish me?

Ava: Not without good reason.

Nikolas: And these mysterious plans of yours tonight, did they involve exploring the possibility of divorce?

Ava: No, of course not. That ship sailed weeks ago.

Nikolas: When was this?

Ava: The day you invited Esme into our home.

Nikolas: So you can stand there, you can go on and on…

Ava: On and on?

Nikolas: …About not trusting me, but how am I supposed to trust you when you always have one foot out of the door?

Ava: You want me to stop straddling the threshold, Nikolas? Then stop pushing me away.

Nikolas: You know, at least give me a head’s up. Should I be expecting divorce papers soon?

Ava: Not yet. I decided I couldn’t go through with it.

Nikolas: Why? When we can’t trust each other because of our toxic, manipulative marriage?

Esme: Hey, you’re not the problem, Spence. When I think of how close Trina came to destroying us —

Nikolas: Don’t think about Trina.

Esme: I can’t help it. That conniving little witch drove a wedge between us. Know what I want? A front-row seat at her trial so I can see her face when they lock her away. I cannot wait for everyone she’s fooled to finally see what a back-stabbing snake she really is.

Brando: She’s devastated, man. It’s traumatizing enough to be in an accident like that, but what she’s really having trouble with is hurting Willow.

Michael: Well, as terrible as all this is, I mean, it’ll help Willow to have some answers.

Brando: Yeah. That’s what Sasha and i are hoping.

Michael: Sasha might not have the whole story, but I got a feeling my mom does.

[ Elevator bell dings ]

Josslyn: Are you gonna talk to Willow now or later?

Carly: What do you think?

Josslyn: Hmm. Well, if it were me, I’d probably want to know right away, but I understand if you think it’s piling too much on Willow.

Carly: You don’t?

Josslyn: No, I do. But, mom, I mean, there’s never gonna be a good time.

Esme: Are you still defending Trina?

Spencer: No! For god’s sake, Esme, I do not care about Trina. I care about you.

Esme: Then why?

Spencer: Because all of this anger that you’re holding in for her, it can’t be good for you. Look at you. You’re tied up in knots. You’re scowling. Your forehead’s all scrunched up. [ Chuckles ] I’m serious. All this stress that you’re carrying around, just let it go.

Esme: [ Sighs ] I’ll try. It’s just that I hate that Trina’s getting away with everything.

Spencer: How do you think I feel? But you and Trina getting in each other’s face, that is making it worse.

Esme: So what am I supposed to do? She’s walking around free, blaming me.

Spencer: Esme.

Esme: [ Sighs ]

Spencer: Look at me. Do you trust me?

Esme: Of course.

Spencer: Then trust me when I say this. This is all gonna be over soon. And when it is, you and Trina will never have to see each other ever again.

Ava: Mm. No, no, no. We can’t do this.

Nikolas: We can.

Ava: No! We can’t. Our problems aren’t gonna go away if we keep distracting ourselves with sex.

Nikolas: This isn’t a diversion. This is you and me expressing our love. We do love each other, right?

Ava: Yeah, we do.

Nikolas: Okay, then what are we doing? Sure. We have problems. We can fix them.

Ava: We can’t — we can’t fix them with sex.

Nikolas: Just tell me what I need to do to make things good between us, and I will do it.

Ava: I don’t know.

Nikolas: Well, then, while we’re figuring it out, let me prove to you that you can trust me.

Ava: Trust is earned. It’s built over time. And if you think that you can fix everything with one or two grand gestures, Nikolas, I’m sorry… you can’t.

Nikolas: [ Sighs ]

Sasha: Willow, I wish that I could make this all okay. But all I can say is that it was a horrible, senseless accident.

Willow: But what was my mother doing there in the first place? Why was my mom in the woods stumbling into the road?

Carly: I can answer that. Sasha, can I have a minute with Willow? I need to talk to her alone.

Finn (to Elizabeth): I might be able to help you with the last part.

Austin (to Maxie): If you don’t want to hang out tomorrow night, all you gotta do is say so.

Spinelli: You’ll be the first to know.

Nina (to Sonny): Looking for someone?

Carly (to Willow): You’re gonna have to prepare yourself.

Britt (to Michael): We need to find Willow, now.
