THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

[ Grunts ] Please take me to port charles airport, international terminal.

[ Cellphone chimes ] P-phyllis — phyllis. Don’t worry. I’m gonna find her. Hold on. When you say “partner in crime,” are you talking about detective first grade dante falconeri?

[ Chuckles ] I still can’t wrap my head around that cop part. This guy’s mom sent him to summer camp in order to keep him away from trouble, and he got in a lot more while he was there. That was because of you. Right, right. Yeah, I’m — I’m the one who led you astray. Mm-hmm. You were the innocent one. Mm-hmm. You guys have known each other that long? We met when we were, uh, what, uh, 12? 13? 12. I came home from school one day. My mom had a bag packed, and she told me I was going to camp for the summer. I was gonna stay out of trouble and get into nature.

[ Chuckles ] And you were the bad influence that corrupted dante. Oh, I’m a bad influence, but so was he back in the day. Cam, hey. Hey. Wow. Two shifts? Kelly’s, now here? Well, you know, with everything going on with my mom, I figured I could use the extra work. Hey, wait. Can we please talk about what’s going on between us? I can’t believe we stayed out for so long. I guess that means we were having a good time.

[ Chuckles ] I guess so. Uh… thanks for buying everything at the pool and for dinner and for ice cream. I’ll pay you back for everything. Oh, forget it. Thank you for introducing me to that amazing food truck. Right? I only found out about it because it goes by pcu on certain days. Another testament of your incredible taste. Good art, good food. I can’t wait to see what else you introduce me to, trina robinson. Whatever you have to say, I promise to listen. Can I please go first? I’ve had a lot of time to think about what you said to me. How I take you for granted. How trina gets under my skin. But I evade every time you call me out on it. And I realized you’re right. And you deserve some answers. D-don’t tell me you’ve hired a divorce lawyer already. No. But I was ready to give up on our marriage. I was, too. I drew a line in the sand and I was ready to walk away. Thankfully, I realized that… was the very last thing I want to do. We can find our way back from this, can’t we?

I wouldn’t say cody corrupted me, but he definitely roped me into going along with some of his more, um… harebrained schemes. Uh-huh. Like you didn’t have any suggestions. Well, I know it wasn’t my choice

or my idea to take the canoe out to the middle of the lake and tip it over on purpose.

[ Laughs ] Yeah. Ah! We — we — we — so we pretended that we were drowning, right? Mm. And we were screaming, like, “help, help!” Until the prettiest cit could come over. That’s a — that’s a counselor-in-training. Yeah. Uh, so she swam over and “rescued” us.

[ Laughs ] Oh, no. And, oh, man, she was mad. She was. We got banned from the beach for the rest of the summer. Then you stole all the camp director’s cigarettes out of his cabin. That’s right, I did. And why did I do that? Do you remember? I dared him to. Yeah, that’s right.

[ Laughs ] And the only reason we got busted in the end is because this guy here smoked every cigarette in the pack… ooh. …And ended up puking all over the place.

[ Laughing ] Gross. Nothing like a little adrenaline rush to let you know you’re alive. It’s like jumping out of a plane and crash landing on an unsuspecting woman. Ah. Talk about mad. And pretty. Now that I’m thinking about it, she actually reminds me of that cit.

[ Chuckles ] Still, if she hadn’t been there, that would have been a perfect landing. Yeah, instead of a potential negligence lawsuit. Oof. Look at you. Former renegade embracing the straight-and-narrow path to a humdrum life. I don’t know if staring down the barrel of a loaded gun is as dangerous as jumping out of a plane. But I don’t know if it’s humdrum. Mm-hmm, okay. Alright, you know that I’m messing with you, right? I’m gonna get you another round for that dinner you’re gonna buy me.

[ Chuckles ]

[ Groans ] You okay? Yeah. No, um… that tumble just fired up some old injuries. I’m good. Yeah, it’s, uh — little pain just lets you know you’re alive, right? Yeah. Why haven’t you mentioned cody before? I don’t know. We — we saw each other every summer at camp, had a hell of a time, but then, uh, we lost touch after I stopped going. That’s too bad. He seems like a good guy. Yeah, he’s a good guy. Good at getting in trouble. I feel like we should be able to tell each other anything by now. You know, unless this is something bigger. I mean, do you feel like we need time or something? No, no, I-I don’t want that. Do you? Well, I don’t know what else to do. There’s clearly something going on. I will not lose joss because you can’t keep your head in the game. Do whatever it takes at this point. I don’t care. Confess to trina. Suck it up to esme. Just make it happen tonight, or I will. You’re right. Um, there’s something that I should tell you. Okay. Isn’t that… the creep who tried to hit on me when I thought we were just study buddies? Hi, josslyn. I-I’m sorry, I really need — I’m sorry to interrupt. I really need to talk to you. I was hoping that trina would get here before I left. She’s actually supposed to be back by now, but she has been working a lot, just dealing with everything hanging over her head. Not saying that I blame her at all. I just wish that there was something that I could do to make things okay for her. We will. Can you give her a big hug from her dad? I sure will. She’s still a daddy’s girl. Don’t worry.

[ Chuckles ] Sweetheart, who’s your friend? Nikolas, we had a fight. You know, big deal.

[ Exhales sharply ] So do most couples. I just had to remember everything that we’ve shared. How we have survived, despite everybody’s predictions to the contrary, because we love each other, we understand each other. It’s gonna take a hell of a lot more than an argument to sever that bond. To be fair, it… it was more than one argument. There are things between us… …that aren’t easily resolved. Nothing between us has been easy. It hasn’t stopped us yet. When you walked away from me, from us, I thought it was over. Yeah, I thought so, too. But, nikolas, it’s because we’re — we’re stubborn, passionate people. And when we’re at odds, you know, things can get really ugly, but when we’re together, we are unbeatable. And that’s our problem, right? W-we stopped working as a team. We — we started to let our own agendas drive us and we forgot to protect this life that we’ve created together, and that life is remarkable. It’s beautiful. It’s utterly our own. And I am n ot gonna let spencerand esme tear it down. Okay. I am so sorry. I’m so sorry for how bad things have gotten between you and me. I’m so sorry for the way that I treated you earlier. Will you please forgive me? Can you track down nina reeves for me? She — yeah, she’s not returning my phone calls or — I’m texting, nothing. Yeah. I’m just — I’m just afraid that she’s not in a great state of mind, and she may do something that she’s gonna regret. Thank you for, uh, making that stop. I left my passport in the office. Okay. Oh, wait. We have to make another stop before you drive me to the airport.

to port charles’ finest. Oh. That means you, dante. And to, uh… unexpected reunions. No wedding ring. You’re not married? Free as a bird. No kids? Nope.

[ Chuckles ] No one special in your life? You ask a lot of questions. Well, sam is a, uh, private investigator.

[ Chuckles ] It’s an occupational hazard. Yeah, it’s like jumping out of a plane and landing on the top of a building. Sort of like skydiving. Is that what you do for a living or is it your side hustle? Actually, uh, for a long time, I was a stunt horseback rider. No kidding. That’s, uh — that’s cool, man. Cody was always really good with horses. I grew up around them, and as soon as I could move out west, I did, d,started working on ranches. That’s where I learned about stunt riding. But after a few too many tumbles, I had to hang up my saddle. Now I make a living doing a bunch of short-term gigs. Wait, isn’t dropping out of the sky really hard on your back? Yeah. Probably gonna have to quit that, too. So how long have you two been together? Oh, you want to take that one? Yeah. We’re coming up on a year. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Year? That’s a good amount of time. How, uh — how’d you meet? Uh… sam’s been a family friend for a lot of years. My ex-husband was best friends with his dad. Whoa. You found your father? I remember you wanting to know who he was. Yeah. I, uh… I got to know my father a little more than 10 years ago. Dante, I mean, this is significant. Tell me — tell me what the — tell me about him. He’s a businessman here in port charles. What’s his business? Corinthos coffee. Wait a minute. Your dad is sonny corinthos? Brick, talk to me. A plane ticket. Where? Damn it. Milan? How soon? Alright, I’m on it. If I were you, adam, I’d get the hell out of here. Hey, it’s fine. Let’s just see what he has to say. Can we do this in private? You’re joking. It’s fine. You’ve got a minute. Be right there. One wrong word and you’re in the pool. I’m pretty good at it. I’ve been too afraid to talk to you at school. But I saw you come in tonight, and I — well, I figured it was now or never. For what? An apology. As convenient as it would be to blame everything on — on spencer and esme, we’ve struggled with trust and honesty from the beginning, and I — I take my responsibility in that. Ava: I know that we have. Oh! We have legitimate issues to work through. I know that. But despite those issues, nikolas, there’s so much love here. There’s — there’s a kinship, even. And there’s — there’s certainly no denying our attraction, right? Surely those things can see us through. So what do you say? Are you still in this with me? I appreciate your acknowledgment that you’ve treated me badly, but… it’s not that simple, spence. I know.

I’ve messed everything up. But I’m trying to work it out. I want to be the man that you deserve. But in order to get there, I may need a second or third or even fourth chance. And I don’t even know which one I’m on now.

[ Chuckles ] Just believe that… I’m trying to do better by you. I need a bit more than “I’m trying,” because from where I’m standing, it doesn’t look like you’re trying very hard, except maybe to justify your behavior. I have been willing to stand by your side no matter what, and I haven’t gotten anything close to that from you. I deserve better.

I’m with you. Always and forever.

[ Inhales sharply ] So “always and forever” lasted all of 4 seconds. I’m sorry, I — you just surprised me. Right, and your instinct was to recoil. That’s not very reassuring, you know. I’m as in love with you as ever. I wanted to grab you in my arms so many times, I had to restrain myself. We came so close to the edge, to giving up on each other. I-I think it might take a little time for things to feel normal between us again. You know, there is still one giant thing between us, and if we really want to move forward… we have to settle it once and for all. You talked to my father about me? Among other things. He saw my suitcase, and I’m afraid I accidentally broke the news to him about ava’s offer for us to move out of wyndemere in exchange for an allowance from your trust fund. One thing led to another, and I told him we fought. I was on the verge of walking out on you. What did my father say to make you stay? He cares about you and he doesn’t want to see you hurt, so he talked me down. He gave me a new perspective on relationships. It was a lot for me to take in, but made me realize I have to be honest about what I need from you. I know that our relationship has been rocky. I’ve been in a bad head space ever since I was in spring ridge, but I’m ready to do whatever it takes to make this work between us. Do you really mean that? So, are you sure I can’t get you anything to drink or…? Uh, no, ma’am. I’m fine. Good. Dad, weren’t you supposed to be leaving? You know what? I think I remember you. Weren’t you, um — you were at the courthouse at trina’s arraignment, right? Uh, yes, ma’am. That was the first day I officially met trina. He brought me a soda when I was in the interrogation room.

[ Chuckles ] Well, that’s an interesting story.

[ Chuckles ] Mm-hmm. Uh, mr. Taggert, I heard how you and commissioner ashford took down cyrus renault. Great work. You think? I broke the law. I had to convince my ex-wife and daughter I was dead for nearly six months. Which I had a problem with at first. But then I realized that you were just doing what you felt like you had to do. Sounded like you did what you needed to in order to protect your family and community. I admire that. Can I ask you a question, rory? You like breaking rules? I mean, is that the real reason you’re hanging out with my daughter? You want to apologize? I do. I’m sorry. I was a total jerk. I had no — no right to say the things that I said to you. No, you didn’T. So why did you? I’m ashamed to say it now, but… all I saw was a hot girl in a video. I didn’t think about what it felt like for you to have your privacy violated. But then I read your article in the invader. Reading about what you went through, that was seriously messed up, and it made me check myself. If someone did that to my sister, I would be furious. I’m really sorry. And I’m sorry I made it w– I made it worse for you. Thank you. And…I accept your apology. Great. Should we hug it out or something? Remember the pool? Yeah, don’t push it.

[ Chuckles ] I’m guessing you know the namesonny corinthos. I hear he knows how to roast a mean bean. Any chance I could get a hook up on some free coffee? Some thing s never change. Alwayslooking for an angle, huh? Well, hey, it’s — it’s not what you know. It’s who you know. Mm-hmm. So what are you getting up to tonight? Want to raise some ruckus and honor the old times? Um, you know what? I got a — I got an early morning. Right, yeah. Got to keep those bad guys off the street. Yeah, and get my kid to school. Look at you, man. Dad with a great job, cool girlfriend.

[ Chuckles ] I didn’t think you had it in you. I’m really happy for you, honestly. Looks like you grew up to have a full life. Thanks, man. It seems like you got the life you wanted too. Yeah, more or less. I’m really glad we had this chance to catch up, even if it’s just for one night. Yeah. You know, we’re having dinner at my place tomorrow. Why don’t you come by? I was worried about you. I-I called you. I texted you. You didn’t return any of my calls. I just — I put my phone on silent. I just was not in the mood to talk to anyone. I heard the judge rejected your petition to see wiley. I’m sorry. You’re not upset at how I let scott go after michael? I don’t like to see michael in pain, but it doesn’t mean I can’t feel for you. Well, I won’t be hurting michael or willow anymore. I’m headed to the airport as soon as I find — this? Oh. No, sonny, please. Nina, nina — I’m already running late. Can you give it to — there is a car waiting for me. Too bad, nina. I’m not letting you go.

[ Sighs ]

you wanted to give us space to work on our marriage, my offer to spencer wasn’t only so he and esme would move out. It was for us, too. You wanted to give us space to work on our marriage, but it hurts that my son chose his money over his relationship with me. Darling, I mean no disrespect. In spencer’s eyes, you did exactly the same thing. Tell you what. As a gesture of good faith and to show you that I am committed to our marriage, I won’t make spencer choose. Yeah, if you

renege,he’ll be furious. No, no, no, I-I’ll still give him the money on the condition that he remains here. Of course, I’ll still have to put up with esme. No, not necessarily. Spencer and esme might be breaking up. She seems to think so. Oh, maybe that’s why he was looking for her. Maybe she’s already gone. This calls for a toast. Things are looking up already. I mean it with all my heart, esme. I want us to make it. Can you please accept my apology? Please. Come on. I love you, spence. And I want to make our relationship work. So, yes, I forgive you. I hope this can be a new beginning for us. I want that, too. I’m ready for all this drama to be a thing in the past. The best part is… I know you really mean that. This isn’t an interrogation. It’s a fair question. Sir, I’m actually a by-the-book guy, which is why I looked it up, and there is no rule stating that I’m not allowed to be friends with trina while she awaits trial. You’re a rookie, right? There’s something you need to understand, son, about law enforcement — there’s written rules and there’s unwritten rules. Yes, sir. I take that seriously. Just like I take seriously our oath and motto — to protect and serve. It’s why I was drawn to the job. And I’m not violating the oath or motto by hanging out with trina. And if someone has a problem with that, that’s on them, not me. So what do you like to do in your spare time, officer cabrera? Uh, well, trina has been teaching me about art. She’s got a great eye. Oh, okay.

[ Chuckles ] Trina: I keep telling him that art is subjective, but I guess I’ve just been around it more. Hey, no false modesty. Own it, lady. Okay. [ Chuckles ] I guess I am pretty good at it. But I like to keep active, play sports, swim, work out when I can. The job keeps me pretty busy, and the whole work-life balance can be pretty tough. Right. You let me know when you get that figured out.

[ Chuckles ] I will. But, you know, right now, I’m just trying to remind myself to make more time for things that I enjoy. Cody: I appreciate the offer, but I got to hit the road tomorrow. No way, you’re only here for the day? Yeah. Life in the gig economy. My next job’s in the finger lakes area. But port charles seems like a nice town. It is. It’s too bad you can’t stay a little longer and get to know the place. I never get too comfy in one place. Got to pay the bills. Are you looking for a job long-term? I don’t know. I mean, since I quit riding, kind of just go wherever the wind blows. But, I mean, I’m open for the right opportunity. Why do you ask? Because I might know of a job that could be a good fit for you, if, of course, you’re interested. I can’t stay here. I can’T. I hate losing you, leaving you, but I can’t keep doing this. My mistakes have already cost you everything, and they have finally caught up with me. But I meant what I said on the stand. I forgive you for what you did to me. Thank you. That means everything. But that doesn’t change the fact that I lost… wiley. My grandson. My flesh and blood. The last link that I will ever have to my daughter. You don’t know that for sure, nina. Sonny, michael and willow will not let me see wiley after everything that happened in court today. Michael and willow can’t keep you from seeing your grandson forever, nina. Can’t they? No, they — they c– they can. I mean, they — they will not let that little boy see anything redeemable in me. I mean, willow accused me of being exactly like nelle. And — and I said terrible things. I have a habit of just lashing out when I feel cornered. I missed my chance of — of getting what my mother stole from me. I won’t know nelle. And now I won’t know her son. Nina — nina — and the only thing I have left of them is… is that necklace, sonny. Just give it to me, please. Just give it to me so I can go. It hurts too much to stay here. Please. Do me a favor before you leave. Let me ask you one thing. How do you think wiley is gonna feel when he finds out you gave up on him?

Ids spend a lot of timeat their grandmother’S. They have stables and horses. They just got a new horse, and they’re actually looking for another handler. Mm. So old money? New?

[ Chuckles ] Come on, does it matter? You said that you worked on ranches. Does that mean you have experience in managing and grooming horses? Yeah, sure. I mean, when I was a kid, my family tended to some horses that were on an estate near the camp. I helped out. Actually, I even took over for a couple years before I headed out west. Hey, that sounds great. I mean, I can’t promise you anything, but at least dante and I could get you a foot in the door. Yeah. You know, sam, I think that — that is a good idea. I just don’t think it’s the right one for cody here. I mean, never too comfy in one place, right? Hey. Hey. Everything okay? Mm-hmm, yeah. I was, uh, telling josslyn that I read your article in the invader and how sorry I was that everything went down the way it did. You guys are really brave. I, um… appreciate you both. Cool. Thanks. He legit? Actually, yes. He apologized and he told me that when he read the article, he changed, you know? We changed his perspective. Hmm. Look, it’s just more validation that we made the right decision by agreeing to do the article. Yeah. Guess we did. I’m glad you’re finally getting some closure. Mm. No, I wouldn’t say that. I’m not gonna get any closure on any of this until esme gets exactly what she deserves. Ah, spencer, I’m so glad you’re here. I have some news. I’ve decided to amend our agreement. Oh, you’re giving me full control of my trust fund.

[ Laughs ] No, no. I’m still gonna give you allowance like we agreed, except you won’t be moving out. You’ll — you’ll stay here and work things out with your father. You want me to stay here? Yes. And, well, it seems that the timing has worked out perfectly. N-nikolas, uh, he told me what happened. And, uh, what was that, exactly? Well, I — I understand that you and spencer have been having some difficulties and are looking to take a break. Now, I’m not gonna insult your intelligence by telling you I’m sorry to hear that. I’m sure you’ll land on your feet, find some other family to terrorize. Long as it’s not mine. Oh, that’s where you’re wrong, ava. Spence and i worked everything out. He stays, I stay. Does that alter your terms? I’m not giving up on wiley. I’m fighting to stay in his life, sonny. Up until now, nina. You had one setback, and you’re gonna — you’re just gonna throw in the towel? Because I can’t sit on the sidelines and watch that little boy play out the rest of his life without me, knowing that his family poisoned his mind against me. It just hurts too much. If you run away, he’s gonna believe the lies. Wiley’s gonna grow up, he’s gonna want to know his mother and her family. He’s gonna seek you out. Maybe he’ll — he’ll even want a relationship with you when he finds out how great you are. I just don’t see that happening. Well, you know what? We don’t know the future. But one thing I can tell you right now is you’re not gonna have a relationship with wiley if you’re not here. I just feel hopeless, sonny. So, what, you’re gonna just run — you’re gonna run, right? Because that’s what you do. That’s your pattern. You got to break that pattern. Otherwise, wiley is gonna keep believing all the lies that everybody keeps telling him. What if it’s too late? That’s your fear talking, nina. Remember what you said to me? The only way you’re gonna make it up to wiley is to prove to him how much you love him. Now, you believed that then and you believe it now. I don’t know what I believe. Stay here. You have — you have a life here. And you could have one with wiley, but you’re never gonna know if you run away.

Thanks for the offer, sam, but I don’t think that’s the right gig for me. Ever since we were kids, this guy has had adventure in his veins. He’s right. Dante’s always had my number. My break’s about over. I should probably head back. Oh, okay, but you were gonna tell me something before adam interrupted me. Right. You know, it’s not really important. It can wait. Really? Because I can’t shake the feeling that you’re hiding something from me. No, no, no, I — look, I’m sorry. I’m probably giving off, like, really weird vibes. I-I’m just really worried about my mom. Okay. Yeah, you’re right. I’m sorry. Just know that you can tell me anything. Okay? Joss, I love you. I love you, too. The most important thing to me is that nikolas and spencer work out their problems. And so if the two of you are back on track, then…it seems like you’ll be sticking around. That is if spencerdecides to stay. The decision is his. I’ll support whatever you decide, son. Seems like a win-win to me. How could I refuse such a generous offer? Well, then it’s settled. And as a welcome-home gift, I’ll wire you your first payment. Thanks. I’ll come, too.

[ Door closes ] I thought they’d never leave. Are you really okay with esme staying here? I’m committed to my marriage, just like I’m committed to you and your father moving forward. If that means I have to put up with esme, I will do my best to tolerate her. So help me. You didn’t say anything to ava? She doesn’t suspect? No. And listen, what happened between us can never happen again. We are both back together with our partners and we have another shot at making things work. I think it’s best if ava and spencer never find out what happened. I totally agree. Ava and spence never have to find out. It’s been nice meeting you, dr. Robinson, mr. Taggert. Unfortunately, I have an early morning tomorrow. It was nice meeting you, too, rory. Actually, I was just leaving, so I’ll walk you out. Mm-hmm. I’ll see you soon, trina. Okay. See you soon.

[ Door closes ]

[ Giggles ]

[ Chuckles ] Um…okay. Wait a second. He was nice. He was cute, too. Okay, mom — no, I’m just saying. I-I don’t know. I picked up a little, I don’t know, connection. Like you said, he’s a nice person. And I barely know him. Okay, whatever you say.

[ Squeals ]

[ Both laugh ] Okay. I’ll stay in port charles. For wiley. You’re making the right choice. And I’ll watch that sweet little boy become a stranger to me. Or even worse… afraid of me because of what his family has said about me. I’m not sure how I’m gonna handle that. Well, you’re not gonna handle that alone. ‘Cause you got me and you got phyllis and family and friends. We’re here for you, okay? That’s a good thing. Every step of the way. Because I don’t know how I’m gonna watch wiley grow up without me. Or how I’m gonna live without that little boy.

Britt? What the hell just happened? Now that’s an entrance. Hello, port charles! Whew! That was cute. Yeah? No. Can someone get me out of this pool? Someone’s coming. Mom, what is it? As long as it’s not bad news. Oh, my god. It’s true. Nina is willow’s mother. Michael: Mom? You okay?

[ Exhales deeply ]

[ Sighs ] Oh, that look on your face better not be disappointment. No, I’m — I’m always happy to see you. You know that. But you’d be happier if nina was here. Did she come by here? Not today. Yeah, ’cause I called her, sent texts, and then she didn’t get back to me. You’re worried about the hearing? I just — I just think she would have, you know, told me if the judge, you know, ruled. Well, maybe it’s still going on. You could head over there and offer your support. I already did that, and, uh, I just made it worse. I’m fine. Fine. You sure? Yeah. I’m just trying to decompress from the day.

[ Sighs ] Tell me about it. Hey. Hey. So how’d it go? We won. Nina’s petition was denied. And she has no one to blame but herself. Well, congratulations. It really does feel like a victory, doesn’t it? I mean, after everything she put us through, all that crap she spewed on the stand, it’s over. Nina can never stake claim to our family again. Oh. I can’t believe you beat me again. You know, maybe we should just play a different game. Like what? I don’t know. I’m just throwing this out there — volleyball? No way. Why not? You’re too good. Oh, finally, a little respect.

[ Both laugh ]

[ Cellphone chimes ] Ah, who could that be? Um, cameron? You guessed it. He texts a lot. This is esme’s jacket. Esme? Spencer. Spencer: Esme? That’s weird. This door is never locked. Who would have done that?

Ohh!

[ Grunts ] Don’t worry about me. Britt, are —

[ Grunts ] Are you okay? Do I look like I’m okay? Dante, feel free to arrest that guy at any time. Involving the law seems a little bit extreme. He could have killed me! Don’t be dramatic. I’m sorry? He’s obviously part of the entertainment. He was just doing a really cool stunt. I, for one, am thoroughly entertained. Arrest him. Uh, okay. First things first. Dude, can you get out of the pool, please? Yeah, yeah. Just give me a sec. I’m a little tied up here. Yeah, well, then get on getting un-tied-up. Yeah, working on it.

[ Straps jingling ] Okay, man, come on. Out of the pool. I’ll give you five seconds. Let’s go. Here, I’ll count. Five, four, three, two — alright, okay! Alright. Okay, there, there. It’s official. I’m completely free. Not for long. Cody. Dante? Whoa. I don’t believe this. Look, if there’s one thing we’ve learned, nina is not gonna disappear quietly into the sunset. Yeah, well, she took her best shot, and she lost. So can we please stop talking about nina and go home and celebrate with wiley?

[ Sighs ] If only it were that simple. Why isn’t it? Hey, michael, I was hoping to talk to you. Can I steal you for a sec? Sure. If this is about the hearing… uh, yes and no. Um… it’s mostly about elq. That hearing sounds like a nightmare. Yep, it was. Maybe it’s naive of me, but… things seemed simpler back in nixon falls, didn’t they? When you had a problem with a neighbor, you worked it out across the fence. Over a nice, cold beer at the tan-O.

[ Chuckles ] And families duked it out at thanksgiving, not in court. And lawyers get their fees, and everybody walks away like they lost, even when they won. That must have been excruciating, standing up for nina, knowing what it would do with your relationship to your son. Yeah, it was really bad. Be honest, though — if you could go back and do it all over again, would you make a different choice? Esme. You in there? Guess not.

[ Breathlessly ] Ava. What are you, uh — hi. Hello. W-what exactly were you doing in there?

Here you go. Oh, thanks. Really, brad? What? He looks cold. I’m sorry about getting you all wet, but in my defense, I was told that the pool was gonna be clear.

[ Scoffs ] Well, it wasn’T. Yeah, I see that now.

[ Sighs ] What the hell are you doing here, man? I was working. As a skydiver? When I have to, yeah. A jack of all trades. Exactly. What about you? Where did dante falconeri end up? Besides port charles. Okay, this little catch-up of y’all’s is really cute, but can you go ahead and arrest him now? Get out of town. You’re a cop? Guilty as charged. You, an officer of the law? Dante, I swear, if you don’t do something —

[ Chuckles ] That is hilarious. Well… how about now?

[ Chuckles ] Funny now or, uh…

[Claps shoulder] Not so much? Hey. So, how are you feeling after all this? Um, mainly relieved. I just can’t wait to move forward, get on with our lives. It got pretty intense with nina. How fully did I lose it? I’ve never seen you that angry. I don’t think I’ve ever been that angry. I mean, for us to go through what we did and then have nina come begging after the fact — like, really, nina? Now? After having her lawyer say in open court that michael was violent toward women, that nelle, a psychotic murderer, was cowering in the shadows with her baby because she was scared of him? Why would I ever let her near my child after she did that to wiley’s father? Look, I’m not gonna tell you what to do when it comes to your dad. I’m not gonna tell you what to do when it comes to anything, for that matter. If you want to take sonny down, that is your call. Okay. But I can’t have you distracted, michael. I mean, this is a high-risk business venture, okay? You and I, we’ve got to be present. We’ve got to be focused with this, and if whatever’s going on with your dad gets in the way of that, then I’m gonna have a problem with it. Alright. I heard you. I’d like you to know where I’m coming from. Fair enough. Nina lie d to my familyfor six months. She carried on a romance with sonny in nixon falls while we grieved a man we thought was dead. I understand that. She also came and visited wiley under false pretenses. She took advantage of our willingness to give her a second chance. That is why we fought this petition. Nina’s a bad influence and not a person we wanted in wiley’s life. And as his parents, that is our choice to make. I couldn’t agree more with that. Thank you. Sonny disagrees, and today, he got on the stand, and he testified on nina’s behalf. Uh — it doesn’t surprise me at all that you’re furious about this. But michael, you — you’ve had this campaign against your dad way before today’s hearing. You’re right. Would I change anything? I kept asking myself that when I walked out of the courtroom. And? No, I wouldn’T. And I know that probably makes me look like a traitor, especially in michael’s eyes. But I see it as, you know, being true to what I believe. Did you say that in your testimony? I just said that I-I thought that wiley deserves to have more love, not less, and people should put him first. And even if you make mistakes, you should, you know, learn by them and then lead by example. No one’s perfect. Amen to that. And that includes me. But I’m not gonna apologize for who I am. I’m not gonna sit back and watch a loving grandmother be cut out of her grandson’s life. It’s wrong. Wow. Nina means that much to you? Wiley means that much to me. And I just hope that he — he grows up. And I just want him to be not just michael’s son or my grandson. I want him to be his own man. You know, wiley, you are so lucky that you don’t have a girlfriend who drives you crazy. I have a girlfriend. Who? You. Oh. And do I drive you crazy? Not today. Oh, not today. Good to know. You know what else I know? What? You’re gonna be a real heartbreaker when you grow up. What’s a heartbreaker? Actually, wiley, I have an idea. Do you want to take a little trip? Where? You’ll see. Come on, let’s clean up.

[ Doorbell rings ] What the hell? You did not have to come all the way out here. Based on your text, clearly I did. What happened with esme? Everything was going great, I swear. I cut a deal with ava to get esme and me out of the house, and in exchange, I was going to get access to my trust fund. Plus, it would have the added benefit of giving me and esme more time together. It was a win-win-win. Okay, that’s perfect. Shows esme that you care. Where’d it go wrong? Esme started tearing into trina. I couldn’t help it. I lost my cool, and I took off. Where? I went for a ride to clear my mind. Oh, I’m assuming on horseback, because…you’re you. I realized that I messed up, so I came back to try to talk things out, and now she’s gone. Esme’s left the island? I don’t know. Her suitcase is right there, and I can’t find her. It’s like she vanished. Is spencer with you? I thought I heard his voice. Oh, you did.

[ Door closes ] He’s looking for esme. Have you seen her? Esme? Yes. No, I haven’T. You seem nervous, nikolas. I’m just — I’m getting my bearings. I was…doing some reading, and then I fell asleep. With the door locked? Was it locked? Mm-hmm. The wind must have blown it shut, locking it by accident. Well, that must have been some nap. Your hair’s all mussed up, and you missed a button. Should we go downstairs? No, no. Let’s — let’s stay, okay? It’s quiet here and private. Perfect for what I have to say.

[ Sighs ] I think you made your feelings pretty clear when you threatened to walk out. Yeah. Nikolas, about that.

[ Quiet clatter ] Wha– what was that?

You’re messing with me, right? No, man. Reckless endangerment. You could have actually hurt someone. Me. That someone is me. Dude, this is a legit gig. Alright, if you have an issue, take it up with the people who hired me. Officer: Need a hand, detective? Uh, no. Thanks, officer. Thanks for the cuffs, though. Yeah, thanks. I know you want to get in there. But I can’T. Just a few more weeks. What? Can we sit down and talk? So, I’m just curious about the job description. Did it say “party crasher” or what? Well, I was supposed to parachute into the pool, make a big splash — literally. But then — what is your name? It’s britt. But then britt here was smack in the middle of my landing zone. Spinelli: I mean, it’s kind of a brilliant marketing strategy, if you ask me. You know, a singles event with eligible men literally raining from the sky. I mean, not — not that I took any pleasure in how it transpired. And of course, the chief concern is that you’re okay, yes? I’m fine. See? She’s fine. But I could have drowned. So off to jail you go now. Bye-bye.

[ Claps hands ] Come on, man. You’re not really doing this, are you? Nina is certifiable. In one breath, it’s, “please take pity on me. You’re wonderful parents.” And then in the next, it’s, “just kidding. Michael is a woman and child abuser.” Yeah, she’s a piece of work, that’s for sure.

[ Sighs ] And I am just done. She’d better not show up or try to contact us. The judge made her decision. It’s over. I couldn’t agree more. And all that matters now is wiley and giving him the best childhood as possible. That is 100% the plan. I knew sonny was different after nixon falls. But the first time I realized I didn’t know who he is anymore was at nina’s trial when he defended her. A few weeks later, he slept with her. And a few weeks after that, sonny and my mom were divorced. And you are furious on your mom’s behalf. No, no, I’m furious myself for all the years wasted believing in sonny, believing in his honor, his loyalty, his love. But I see sonny for exactly what he is now. He’s a criminal with a long line of luck. This is where his luck ends, and I’m going to see to it. Okay, well, that’s where I step in, alright? ‘Cause I know what’s going on. Dante told me that you plan to use elq to go after sonny. And you don’t want any part of that? No, I don’t want any part of that. Look, I’m not just some guy that you work with, right? You got to remember, I’m your uncle. And yes, obviously, I want to protect elq, but way more than that, I want to protect you. I’m good, thank you. Just — just hear me out, please. Look, honestly? I mean, sonny and I have never really been all that close, even when I thought I was jason, and I agree with you. I agree that he’s acted badly, and I am going to stop short of saying that he failed his family, because this is a complicated — this is a tricky situation. That is exactly what he did. Well, a lot of people close to you don’t feel the same way. So the harder that you push sonny, the harder it’s going to be for dante, for christina, and especially for avery and for donna. I mean, they’re too young to be able to grapple with all this. Loving my siblings and propping sonny up are two very different things. I’m not asking you to prop sonny up. That is what we do every time we pretend that sonny is a legit coffee importer. Look, I’m not a gangster. I’m not going to go in guns blazing. I’m a businessman, and I’m a better one than he is. I’m gonna outmaneuver sonny. And I’m gonna do it without elq. Are you sure about that? I’m not gonna let my issues with my father get in the way of our business together. So you keep them separate, right? Because our company and everybody that depends on us can’t be used in some way to punish sonny. Understood. I don’t need to read a transcript to know your heart’s in the right place. I saw it for myself in nixon falls, the way you stood up to elijah when he was trying to take advantage of us, how you treated us like family. When lenny got sick… you are family. Hell, you almost died when you pulled nina and me from that fire. Make sure you tell wiley that one day. I have a feeling that you’ll get a chance to tell him that yourself.

[ Telephone rings ] Charlie’s pub. Yes, that’s me. Oh, hi, mr. Baldwin. No, she hasn’t come in. I see. Yes, of course I will. Bye. Scott? Nina lost.

[ Sighs ] I cannot believe that you let esme get inside your head again. I do not need a lecture, okay? Not today. It was bad enough seeing trina with officer what’s-his-face at the gallery. Trina was with rory? There was nothing going on, but I didn’t love it. And then to come home and have esme rip into her — look, trina does not need you defending her honor. She can take care of herself. I know that. Clearly, you don’T. Meanwhile, my brothers are very upset with my mom being away, and joss goes into combat mode every time I suggest that you’re not evil incarnate. I’m sorry. I know that this is rough on you. Look, I don’t need your sympathy, okay, spencer? What I need you to do is expose your girlfriend already. It — it must have been the bats! Bats? This is the time of afternoon that they come out. We should be grateful — they eat all of the insects.

[ Chuckles ] Well, I’ll be sure to send a thank-you note. Bats. Vermin with wings. Now, will you join me downstairs? In a minute. Nikolas, I need to apologize. I’m sorry that I threatened to walk out on you. I didn’t mean it. I’m — I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have done that.

Amantha, might you be ableto persuade your beau that there’s no need for such drastic measures? What? I agree. Let muscles off with a warning. Or a good spanking. Dante: Okay, sorry, the law’s the law. But, uh, let’s go. I’ll do you the favor of not arresting you in front of an audience, okay? Wait. I’m coming with you. Okay. This your girlfriend? Yeah. Sam, cody. Cody, sam. Ah. The pleasure’s all mine. And we’re out of here. Let’s go. Britt: Enjoy lock-up. So much for finding true love, huh? Yeah. Happily ever after is hard to come by. Makes me wonder. What? Maybe it’s better to just quit while you’re ahead. You know, save yourself the agony. It’s definitely a smart play. Unfortunately, finn was always the smart one in the family. Hey. Everything okay? Willow: Everything’s great. Everything turned out the way it was meant to for everyone involved. You ready to go home? So ready. Mommy, daddy! Oh! Hey, buddy. Wiley, what are you doing here? I brought him. I figured that you’d want to see him. I hope that’s okay. More than okay. Thank you. You know what? You are a sight for sore eyes. Why are your eyes sore? They’re not.

[ Laughter ] Yeah, michael. Come on, man. What gives? Stop. I heard the news. I’m sorry. Um… can you call me and text me, and I’ll be right there.

[ Exhales deeply ] Do me a favor. If she comes here, just let me know, will you? Where are you going? I’m gonna find her. You’re worried. So am I. But possibly, nina may not want to be found. Maybe the point is for her to be alone right now… mm-hmm. …To process, to grieve, to scream. Last time she was this angry, she went straight to nixon falls. But doesn’t that prove my point? I need to be with her.

[ Sighs ] You don’t even know where to start, sonny. That’s where you’re wrong.

[ Door closes ] Aren’t you gonna say something? I thought it was over. Th at you were gonna give up on us. No, I — I guess I was thinking about it. But then I went to the firing range to blow off some steam, and I ran into your mother. And laura told me that you asked her to write a letter of recommendation to the adams day school for avery. Yeah, I-I knew my mother would be happy to help. Turns out she knows the headmistress. Yeah. That’s what she said. So the letter’s already sent, and she has a call in to the director of admissions. And that’s great. I mean, I’d — I’d really like avery to go to adams. But hearing what you did without making a big fuss or wanting any credit, it was a real wake-up call for me. It reminded me how thoughtful and generous you can be. After my anger cooled down, I was able to hear your mother’s sage advice. Are you sure it wasn’t a lecture?

[ Chuckles ] Maybe a little bit of both. But it got me thinking, and not that we don’t have real issues to work through, because we do. But I have never been a quitter, and I do not intend to start being one now. Do you?

Okay, so you’re notsome world-famous physician like your brother, but you’re smart in other ways. How so? Like knowing when to step in and save me from blowing it with valentin. You sacrificed so much, chase, to protect bailey from peter. Yeah, but not necessarily smart. Heroic, then. Maybe I was wrong. About? The whole “quitting while you’re ahead” thing. Maybe it’s the exact opposite. You know, you need to jump in more, think less. I can do that. Yeah? Yeah. In fact, I’m gonna make the leap right now. I will do everything I can, brook lynn, to help you get your music back. Here you go. More coffee? I assure you, it is the best way through. And you know what? I-I have a prediction. What’s that? That one day, we’ll look back on the events of today and have only fond memories. Oh, yeah, I will.

[ Scoffs ] Don’t go getting any ideas. He is all mine. For a second, I thought you were actually gonna haul me in. Oh, well, for a second there, I actually was gonna haul you in. A tip, if I may? Hit me. Well, next time you decide to jump out of an airplane for money, make sure you don’t jump into a pool, public or private. Noted. Hmm. You know, you’re really lucky that dante had an extra change of clothes in his car. Hmm. Yeah. Gracias, compadre. Mm. Well, you’re welcome, but I want them back. Yeah. Bummer. So that, uh, britt woman. She’s something else, huh? Well, that’S… one way to put it.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah. Yeah, you should be thanking us. Actually, we, uh — we saved you from her wrath. Alright, well, I’ll pay you back by letting you buy me dinner. Oh, cool. Yeah. All that commotion’s really got me starving. Hey, uh, phyllis. Hi. I just wanted you to meet a friend of mine, cody. Hi. Nice to meet you, cody. You too. Hey, uh, everything okay? Nina? Did you have fun with aunt josslyn? We played a game, and I won. You did? Actually, I demand a rematch. Thank you so much for taking care of him while we were… indisposed. Yeah. Yes, of course, anytime. Is everything good? What were you doing here? Well, you weren’t the only one playing a game. Your mommy and daddy won, too.

[ Gasps ] You did? We did. Oh, thank god. Oh, I’m so happy that… you know, the game worked out the way we hoped. So are we. You’re right. I can’t keep ping-ponging from esme to trina and then back again. If I’m gonna make this work, I need to show esme that I am all in. It just drove me crazy seeing trina at the gallery with that cop. Spencer, I’m gonna say something, and I need you to hear me. I’m going back to take care of jake and aiden, but I will not — I repeat, I will not lose joss because you can’t keep your head in the game. Do whatever it takes at this point, okay? I don’t care. Confess to trina. Suck it up to esme. Just make it happen tonight. Or I will. What brought on this change of heart? I just told you. Right. My mother and a letter of recommendation. And me. Why didn’t you tell me this before? Before what? Before we came so close to losing what we have. Well, I’m telling you now. That’s got to count for something. It counts for everything. And yes, we — we still have issues, and of course we need to discuss them. But — but not here. Come with me. You won’t regret it. Oh, how wrong you are, nikolas. Ava will regret it.

[ Scoffs ] And so will you.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You have the hots for parachute guy? Not that I blame you, but those weren’t the vibes I was getting. I’m interested, but only to the extent that he completely proved my point. I mean, what’s better evidence that true love is a total lie than some cynical attempt to try to sell it with stunts? There was nothing cynical about it. Yeah, what’s wrong with a little romance? And bonus if it’s wrapped in a package as drool-worthy as candy’S. Cody. Whatever. His name could be elmer for all I care. Okay. I’m going to sue him for assaulting me. Okay, I think “assault” is a bit of a stretch. Even if I have to sue him for every stitch of clothing he’s not wearing. Everything copacetic? Uh, yeah, just, uh… just some family stuff. Well, let me know if I can help. So, who are you? Cody bell. We met at the pool? Um, I know, I know. Just an hour ago, I didn’t even know you existed, and now you and dante seem to be picking up right where you left off.

[ Chuckles ] Well, you know how it is when you’re friends from childhood — you’re…literally growing up together. And getting in trouble together. Yeah, that too. Maybe I do think too much. You do. I should start seizing the moment more. Yeah, there’s no time like the present.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

[ Sighs ] It’s my brother. He’s having a tough time with everything going on with elizabeth. You should go be with him. Really? Really. Okay, uh… okay. Thanks. Uh, yeah. Um, and tomorrow, it’ll be all about you and me and getting the goods on linc. Right. And — and once we do, we can use it to get your music back. I’ll see you tomorrow. Can’t wait. Me either. So, that was quite a splashdown. Brad: I’ll say. Britt: Oh, you would. Hey, he can splash into my bath any day. Actually, technically, a tub, as it were, is — is indoors, so you can’t really splash down into it. Carly: Hey, can I get a hug goodbye? Of course she can. Oh! [ Smooches ] I love you so much. You always remember that, okay? I will.

[ Laughter ] Alright, alright. Well, I’ll walk with you guys out. Talk later? Yes, yes, yes. And I’m so happy for you guys. Congratulations. Thank you. Congratulations, guys. I’ll see you later. See ya. Goodbye.

[ Sighs ]

[ Laughs ] So — what was that little head nod? Was that — was that about the dna results, or was that because willow doesn’t know yet? It was the results. I heard from the lab. And? Nina’s not willow’s mother. Wow. I guess that’s for the best. Yeah. Oh, yeah, especially after the hearing. I mean, it was brutal. Michael did tell me a little bit about it. Sonny testified for nina? Oh, that was the least of it. And the whole ordeal happened because of nina, because of her selfishness and because she has entitlement issues. And poor willow. Willow is just exhausted and she’s angry, and she wants nina as far away from her family as possible. So it would have been awful if nina ended up being her mom. Yeah. Yeah. But she’s not. Thank god. I wonder why harmony said that she was. Harmony was a troubled woman. But it doesn’t matter where willow came from. It matters who she is today and how much she loves michael and wiley and the life they have to look forward to. Spencer: Finally. Where have you been? Around. I’ve been looking everywhere for you. Esme, there’s something that I need to tell you. That’s funny. There’s something I have to tell you, too. Nikolas, you’re acting strangely. What is going on? Hey! You’re scaring me. Spit it out. There’s something you need to know.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

hey. Ahh! Finally. Where have you been? Uh, deception. I got stuck on a call with home and heart. I thought maybe you had an attack of common sense and decided to skip this ordeal. What — what ordeal? Looks like everyone’s having a good time. Look closer. Britt, what’s the problem? Simple. I don’t know what I’m doing here. Uh, staying open to possibilities? If you’d only just put yourself out there, you would have guys falling all over you. Is that even what I want? Well, you’ll never know unless you try. Come on, britt. We’ve both been through hell, and we deserve some good karma. What’s better karma than donating to a worthy cause while sipping cocktails by the pool? I will give you that one. These drinks are delicious. Hm. Okay, um, you just need to follow my lead. Forget the past and look to the future.

[ Scoffs ] I’m looking forward, and I like what I see. Maxie: Hi. Austin: This is for you. Thank you. Hey. So glad you made it. Thanks. Mm. Are you okay? Better all the time. Brad is coming with my next drink. Sorry that took so long. Ooh.

[ Sighs ] I know you don’t like austin for maxie. Yes, that’s — that’s exactly it. You know, maxie is the — is the mother of my child. I’ll — I’ll always be protective of her. Uh, drew, drew, drew, come — come join us. Hey. Spinelli, look at you. Hey. Aw. You look amazing. You look so good. Sam, goes without saying that you look even better. Thank you. That’s always nice to hear. It’s the truth. It’s so wonderful to see you. I-I-I can’t wait to hear about everything you’ve got going on. I swear, I’m not mad at you. Okay, I-I’m not mad at you anymore. We both got a little heated. Yeah, we definitely need to clear the air. You first. You first.

[ Clears throat ] Okay, I’ll go first. Great. I’m listening. Judge foster said she didn’t need a lot of time to prepare her ruling, scott. Is that good or bad? I don’t know, but we’ll know shortly.

The role of michael corinthos is temporarily being played by robert adamson.

Why weren’t there any closing arguments? Because, my dear, this is a hearing, not a trial. Apparently, judge foster heard everything she needed to make a decision. How much damage do you think scott did with that rewrite of what happened with claudia? I’m not gonna speculate. We’re just gonna have to wait for the judge to come back. Michael, where’s your mother? She said that she had an errand she needed to do. Well, must be really important. Otherwise, you know she’d be here. Well, no one thought the judge was gonna come back with a decision so fast, but I better text her. I’m sure she wouldn’t want to miss this.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

[ Sighs ] Come on. Hello, ava. Why am I not surprised to find you at a shooting range? Same reason I’m not surprised to see you here. It’s probably a good idea, brushing up on your gun skills, given the company you’re currently keeping.

[ Chuckles ] I don’t have any idea what you’re talking about. Oh, that wasn’t you dining out with victor cassadine at the metro court? Funny. I don’t remember seeing you there. I wasn’t there, but I have sources. Apparently, you were getting pretty cozy. Planning on upgrading from nikolas to victor? Is that the plan? I’ll tell you something. Your father is certainly a lot more charming than you are. Anna: Oh, I wouldn’t say that. Valentin’s had his moments. I’m gonna go for a ride. We can talk about this after. Walk out that door, and I may not be here when you get back. No such luck.

[ Gasps ] I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. I’m not.

Bailiff: All rise.

[ Door closes ] Please be seated. It is the opinion of this court that parents have the right to determine who is a part of their child’s life, just as they are responsible for anything that affects their child. However, the law in new york state is very clear. It allows a biological grandparent, such as ms. Reeves, to petition to see their grandchild. That law is why we’re here today and the only reason I allowed this circus to go on as long as it has. The law gives ms. Reeves the right to be heard, regardless of the merits of her case. I’ve heard both arguments, for and against visitation. The respondent party has proven that the petitioner’s presence in wiley corinthos’ life would be detrimental. I hereby deny the petitioner, nina reeves, visitation with the minor child.

[ Gavel bangs ] Oh, thank god. We won.

[ Sighs ] I’m so sorry, britt. Somebody bumped into me. I know. Don’t use this as an excuse to leave. No harm. [ Chuckles ] Just get me another cocktail. You have great reflexes. She’s like a panther. Okay, we’re gonna sit down and let you two singles mingle. Mingle.

[ Sighs ] Here. Take mine. None of it spilled. And they’re the right price — free. Thanks.

[ Sighs ] Wow, y-you got to admit, there are some hot guys here. A-and did I tell you how sexy you look in that outfit? Easy, brad. I might think you’re trying to boost my confidence. Hello, there. Didn’t you say you didn’t need a singles mixer? That you’re already seeing someone? It looks like that’s not gonna work out. Like, what do you mean? You — you — you said you guys have great chemistry. We did, but he just got a job offer in chicago. He tried to turn it down, but I told him not to. The opportunity’s just too good. Oh, uh, excuse me. Hi. I’m just gonna take this whole tray drinks. Oh, no. We need them! Oh. Look what you did. It’s okay. Anna, I’m here, as you requested. Can’t wait to see what you’ve got planned. I think you’re gonna like it. Well, anna, I would warn you not to trust him, but something tells me you wouldn’t listen. Did ava say something? Do you care? I do not. I was a little worried you were gonna stand me up.

[ Gunshots in distance ] What, you were afraid that I was gonna pay you back for all the times you disappeared on me? I have a bad habit of doing that. I’m sorry to be such a disappointment. Can I take your invitation to join you here as a sign you’re willing to give me a second chance? A second chance? I-I think that you’re on about 99 at this point. Yet here we are. Yet here we are.

[ Gunshots continues ] Choose your weapon. Oh. Am I going to need to defend myself? So, drew, sam tells me that you’re gonna be serving as scout’s swim coach. Now, okay, I-I-I know you were a navy seal, but how good of a swimmer actually are you? And a-are — are you certified to coach? And are there gonna be other kids there that are around scout’s age? And, I mean, I assume the quartermaines are gonna be heating the pool, right?

[ Chuckles ] Well, um, scout’s in the 7-and-8 group on the country club team. I’m just a volunteer coach. You know, I just pitch in when the staff there ask me to help. But I-I just want to make it fun. I don’t want it to feel like it’s olympic training. Sure. Dante: Hey, guys. Hey. I’m sorry I disappeared on you. Oh, it’s forgiven. Do you want a drink? Ooh, yeah, a-allow me. No, I-I’m good, spinelli, actually. Thanks. Uh… can I talk to you for a minute, actually? Sure. Spinelli, what’s going on? Mm? Why are you so desperate to get away from me? Oh, perish the thought. No, stop. You’re dodging my questions. What’s going on? I can admit I may have gone too far asking for your help to go after linc. You mean when you asked me to entrap linc and risk getting thrown off the force for good? Yes, that. I-it wasn’t a good idea to ask a cop, even one on suspension, to do something potentially… catastrophic. …Not strictly legal. It’s just, you’ve helped me so much in the past. I-I guess I got carried away. But you also overreacted. We can agree on that, right? Okay. Sure. Great. So we’re good, then. You do realize you never actually said you were sorry. I’m sorry. Now can we move on? I have one more thing to say about that. Of course you do. I’ve decided I’m gonna help you take linc down, after all.

So, what happened?

[ Slurping ] Brad? Hmm? You should go talk to that really hot waiter over there. Where? Are you sure it’s not gonna work with this guy? I mean, you seemed so happy about him. I’m disappointed, but it’s okay. I’m not buying it. I mean, we both know quality men are few and far between. Chet and I met by accident, we texted a lot, but we only went on one follow-up date. We weren’t officially a couple.

[ Sighs ] Love sucks. I’m definitely not talking about love. Chet and I had potential, that’s all. And I’m just sorry we’re not gonna see where that leads. This is what happens. Life offers you something, then snatches it away. And bailey and i played peekaboo this morning. Ah, I love what a happy baby she is. It’s kind of incredible considering the first year of her life was such a roller coaster. And here I am again, rambling on about my kids. I’m so sorry. No, don’t be. I-I love when you talk about your kids. You kind of light up. It’s really beautiful on you. Probably in her room, waiting for me to come looking for her.

[ Clears throat ] You changed your mind? You — you want to help me with linc? Yeah. You made me apologize to you. That’s because you needed to.

[ Scoffs ] You’re right. I did. And I accept your apology. So let’s go get that slimeball. Is there a problem? Well, that depends. Are you backing michael’s vendetta? What are you talking about? Michael says he’s gonna dismantle everything sonny’s built. I think it’s pretty unlikely michael’s gonna start firebombing sonny’s warehouse. Yeah, of course not. So, wait. I’m — I’m sorry. What does this have to do with me? Michael’s gonna use elq to target sonny. Judge foster: Mr. Baldwin, your mischaracterization of michael corinthos bordered on slander. The court is perfectly capable of reading and comprehending a criminal record. Your distortion wasted the court’s time, tried its patience, and did your client no favors. As far as the court’s concerned, this matter is closed. Court’s adjourned. We did it. It’s over.

[ Chuckling ] Oh. Oh. It was a legitimate argument. I mean, if she’d just listened… nina, listen, I’m sorry. I-I-I gave it my best shot. Michael, willow, I’m so happy for you both. Carly, what’s wrong? Willow. Michael. Please. Please reconsider. A walther ppk? It’s a classic. Yeah. How about you? Oh, I have my own. Obviously. It is a classic. Okay, so let’s decide on the rules for this little shooting competition. Whoever gets the cleanest set of kills wins. What are the stakes? Um, if you win, I’ll have dinner with you. And if you win? I don’t know. Not sure. Have to see. What if it’s a draw? It won’t be. Okay, well, you’re using your own weapon. I’ve never used this one before. You have an unfair advantage. Want me to give you a little time to practice? Yeah? Does that seem fair? That sounds fair. Okay.

[ Gun cocks ] Okay. What? That’s it? One shot? I mean, that’s your idea of practice? I only need one. You should know that about me. Once I get a feel for it, I always hit my target.

Se don’t cut meout of wiley’s life completely. You knew the risks when you took this case to court. Your petition was denied. There’s nothing left to say. I know that, legally, I have no rights to see wiley. I’m at your mercy. Oh, now you’re asking for mercy? After you had scott try to destroy michael’s reputation? Listen, I’ll take anything. Supervised visitation.

[ Scoffs ] I-I’ll come over to your house. You both can be there the entire time. Why would I ever let wiley spend time with a woman who had her lawyer tell lies about his father on the stand? All you proved today, nina, is that you will say anything, do anything to get your way. And when it doesn’t work out, then you start crying.

Then you claim you didn’t mean it or you were misunderstood. You are the one who pushed the issue by taking this to court. There is no going back now.

[ Breathing heavily ] Willow, are you okay? Michael and i are wiley’s parents, and like the judge said, it is up to us to decide what is best for him. And we do not think you can be trusted with him. It is really that simple. You can’t change this. I love wiley, and he loves me. Wiley doesn’t know any better. That’s why we are protecting him from you. Come on, nina. Let’s get out of here. Nina should really sue baldwin for malpractice. I mean, they never really had a case, and that stunt he pulled by attacking you, that totally alienated the judge. All the matters now is that it’s over. The judge found in our favor, thanks to you, diane. I agree. I didn’t want this hearing, but I am so glad it’s now legally settled. Thank yourselves. Michael, for the most part, you held up beautifully under scott’s attack. And, willow, you were nothing short of brilliant on the stand. I was fighting for wiley to make sure nina won’t have the chance to hurt our son. Why aren’t you texting me back, esme? Oh, I get it. You want me to beg. Well, that’s not gonna happen.

[ Door opens ] Ava: Nikolas! Oh, it’s you. Obviously. Have you seen your father? Thank you. You’ve always been so considerate with me.

[ Sighs ] I can’t believe that just happened. Are you alright? I mean, I knew michael was planning on cutting sonny out of his life, but I had absolutely no idea that he wanted to use elq resources to — to take him down. Are you sure? Mm. Well, michael told me he’s gonna take sonny down. He didn’t say he was gonna use elq to do it, but call it an educated guess. Look, I-I get michael’s anger towards sonny. I mean, his dad chose the woman who kept him away from his family for months over michael’s own mother. Look, if it’s a legitimate deal that benefits elq but also damages sonny, I can’t stand in michael’s way. But with that said, I would never do anything to weaken elq. Does michael know that? Whoo! It’s june, and I was hoping to get out and hike a little bit soon, and I wondered if maybe you want to come with me sometime. Yeah, absolutely. Just as long as it’s not in pautuck. I’m not ready to go back there yet. I’m sorry. I know you love the woods there. I do, but we’ll find a place here in port charles, someplace that’s new for both of us. Okay. Deal. Yeah? Yeah. Great.

[ Giggles ] Britt:

[ Giggles mockingly ] Great, great. Is there a problem, britt? No. No. By all means, do your thing. Just explain something to me first. What are you two even doing at a singles mixer? This is also a charity fundraiser. Oh, my god. I’m officially a charity case?

[ Laughs ] I’m excited you’re on board. Not so fast. I have conditions. I will keep an eye on linc, see what I can dig up. I’ll see if he’s involved in any illegal activity, but I’m not gonna set linc up in any way. I would never ask you to do that. That’s exactly what you said. Okay, fine. That — that was before. We’re moving on now. Any help that you offer is appreciated. I’m not gonna lie. I was pretty nervous going after linc myself. Now you don’t have to. Not on my watch. You’re the best. Thank you.

[ Gunshots ] How did you do? I held my own. How did you do? Eh, well. I don’t know. It’s less of a challenge when the target isn’t moving. I don’t buy that. Unlike you, who just seems so very hard to pin down.

[ Gunshots in distance ] I meant what I said. I’M… I’m ready to stay put for a while. But you’ve always liked a moving target, haven’t you? So is that even gonna work for you? Oh, it — it depends… if there’s anything to stay put for. There will be. I promise you. Okay. Shall we see who won? I think I already know the answer to that. Hold, please. No, no. I-I just — I’m just gonna grab this one, okay. Okay, okay. Cheers. Thank you.

[ Chuckles ]

[ Chuckling ] Okay, britt. Do you think you should slow down? The drinks help me mingle. I’m not here for charity.

I’m here because I’m single so why am I talking to the two of you? I am still gonna be your friend after this. Why don’t we just leave them to it? Come on. I don’t know. I’ll keep an eye on britt. We both will. Okay. I’m fine.[ Chuckling ] Okay. Alright, wingman, wingwoman, let’s find me someone. Okay. Too short. Ooh, still lives with his parents. Uh, um, had — oh, had his teeth whitened too many times. And no. Just — just no. Too many freckles. Well, thank you for the heads up. I mean, I know firsthand how easy it is to let anger consume you, and…michael doesn’t deserve that. I agree. I’ll talk to him. Hey, nina, I got to sign some court documents. Should I call liesl? I don’t want to talk to anyone. I just can’t believe it’s over. I know. Listen, it was a hard loss. I thought for sure we were gonna win. But maybe I just convinced myself of that because I couldn’t bear the thought of losing wiley forever. Well — well, maybe michael and — and willow, they’ll reconsider. I’ve got to go. Aw.

[ Sighs ] I’m still waiting, spinelli. Okay, okay, I…cannot lie to you.

[ Exhales sharply ] Yes, something is going on. But I-I’m just not — I’m not ready to talk about my new…thing just yet. Okay, just promise me you’re not in danger. Oh, no, no. Heaven forfend. It’s not anything like that. I-I promise. Can we just — we just leave it at that for now? Look at that one in that hideous shirt.

[ Laughs ] Oh, that sounds like there’s a problem. Britt, you may want to lower your voice. You’re getting a little loud. And obnoxious. What are you saying, terry? Am I causing a scene? Not yet, but you are well on your way.

[ Groans ] Well, that won’t do. Oh.

[ Glass clinking ] It’s not loud enough.

[ Sighs ] You know, we keep talking around something, and I don’t want to ignore it anymore. Me, neither.

[ Britt whistling loudly ] What’s that? Listen up, everyone! I’m gonna blow your minds. Get ready. I have no idea where my father is, though there is this hot new invention called texting. You should try it sometime. Yeah, I-I am. He’s just — he’s not responding to me. I wouldn’t, either, if I saw your name. Never mind. I’ll find him myself. Wait. Ava, we need to talk. I just tried that. It didn’t really work for me. Esme and i are moving out. Oh, good. Yes, I saw esme’s suitcase in the foyer. Uh-huh. Well, our deal is that we move out, and I get access to my trust fund. Mm, mnh. Our deal is that I give you a weekly allowance. So is there something else? Well, we’re not moving back in with my grandmother and kevin. I’m sure laura will be very happy to hear that. We plan on staying in a five-star hotel, at least for a while.

[ Laughs ] That’s what you’re gonna do with your money? Well, I don’t think that’s very wise, but you do you. Well, I’m gonna need my first payout to book the room. Mm, not gonna happen. We have a deal. You’re still here. No, you don’t get any money until you and your girlfriend are really, truly, totally, completely out. Hey, we’re going. Not until you have a new place to stay. What? You don’t trust me?

[ Chuckles ] God, no. And I trust esme even less. I can’t believe we did that. I’m so sorry. I-I never expected that to happen.

[ Sighs ] Are you okay? I’m great. If I’m being totally honest, I’ve been fighting these feelings for a while. Have you been struggling, too? I’m sorry. I just — I feel like I took advantage of you. Oh, you did not take advantage of me. If anything, you saved me. I’ve been so lonely and sad. Spence has been so cold to me, and you’ve been so kind and caring. It was nice to feel close to someone again. To feel safe in your strong arms. And I’m sorry that spence wasn’t the man I thought he was, and I’m sorry that your marriage is over, but I can’t say that I’m anything but glad that we found each other. Esme, what we did is wrong. Spencer is my son. And spence and i are finished. To be clear, that was his choice, not mine. Going forward, spence has no say in what I do. Spencer will never forgive me for this. Spence… never has to know.

What are you saying, esme? For both our sakes, spence should never find out. It’ll be our secret. Is that what you want? Even though spence has made it perfectly clear he doesn’t give a damn what I do, I… the last thing I want is to cause trouble for you. I mean, I just couldn’t resist you. You’ve been so good to me. So, now that it’s all over, how you feeling? You alright? Well, this whole thing has been draining. Nina has put us through so much. But now that it’s over, I am pretty sure I will sleep well tonight. Thank you for everything, diane.

[ Chuckles ] Yes. I-I don’t know how you do it. Nothing ever seems to rattle you. Well, that’s — that’s not entirely true, but thank you for the compliment, michael. But that’s my job — to not lose my cool. And nina gave me so much to work with. And now you two have a legal ruling. If she comes anywhere near wiley, you can have her arrested. Ugh, well, let’s hope it doesn’t come to that, but it’s good to know we have that protection. I so love it when the good guys win. Enjoy your victory. Hi. Hi. Thank you so much, diane. My pleasure, carly. And bonus points to you for holding it together during sonny’s testimony. Yeah, well, anything for wiley. Of course. Of course you’d feel that way. But I have some idea of what that cost you. Well done.

[ Exhales slowly ] Hey. Glad you were able to make it back in time for the verdict. But now we have to go celebrate.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah, I definitely agree. Justice was served. What about you, willow? Any second thoughts? No. [ Chuckles ] Why would I? I know tha t you were the onewho struggled the most with denying nina contact with wiley. Oh, n-not anymore.

[ Scoffs ] I see nina very clearly now. No, I’m thrilled that wiley is protected legally. We never have to see that awful woman again. Mom, what is that? What are we all doing here? Supporting a charity?! I don’t think so. Do something. I am. We are shelling out our hard-earned money on the search for love. We are suckers. Save your money and get a pet, okay? Everybody wants to find their special someone. And once you care for them, they leave you. N-n-not every time. You just have to find the right one. Oh, yes, the mythical right one. The one who will complete your life. The one who will stand by you to hell and back, who will trust you more than you trust yourself. You and the one will always have paris, right?! Wrong! Okay? Haven’t you seen how the movie ends? She flies away with the other guy, because it’s just a sappy movie. There is no right one. Uh, what the hell is going on right now? I need a drink.

[ Airplane engine roaring ] Is that…? H-have faith. Your time will come. Cupid will loosehis arrow — oh, duck and cover, people! Those suckers hurt, okay? You know, port charles is the anti-cupid, okay? No, actually, ’cause it’s a place, not a person. But cupid’s not a person, either. It’s just a chubby baby thing. Britt, I think you made your point. Let’s get you something to eat, okay? No, these people have to understand.

[ Roaring continues ] Oh, my god. There is no love. There’s no love in port charles, okay? All the good ones are taken — or dead.

[ Roaring gets louder ] If you’re looking for love in port charles, you might as well wait for someone to fall out of the sky. Uh, britt! What?! Man: Look out below! Terry: Oh, my god! Britt! Woman: No! Oh, no, no, no! Britt, britt! Look out!

[ Sighs ] Sorry, michael. Oh, my god, it’s true. Nina’s willow’s mother. Michael: Mom?

[ Britt screaming ] Britt?

[ Breathing heavily ] What the hell just happened? Now, that’s an interesting. Hello, port charles! Hoo!

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

[ Indistinct conversations ] Wow. Quite the scene. Very… tacky.Fancy. Oh. Thank you. Sure. Cheers. Because he used all of his cash.

[ Chuckles ] Uh… cash meaning… u-um, let me give you my card. Oh, uh — hey, spinelli. Oh. Dr. Gatlin-holt. Hmm. I thought you said this was a charity benefit. It is. Looks more like a meat market. Well, the — the invitation I n clearly stated that this afternoon’s events were, first and foremost, a fundraiser. Huh. How do you account for everyone having great hair and sparkling white teeth? Merely the icing on the cake. Um, is — is maxie accompanying you, or… perhaps is she attending solo? Maxie and I were supposed to come together, but she got stuck at work. Thanks for inviting me to this. Hey!

[ Chuckles ] How’d you hear about it? How did you not? Whoever does the pr for society setups stopped only at skywriting. Yeah, you’re not kidding. Everyone who’s anyone is here. Should make for an interesting party. Scott grossly distorted your history. No one is gonna believe a word that he said. Least of all wiley. No, I-I can explain away fiction, but… today made me realize that one day, wiley’s gonna have to face the bad parts of my past, and nelle’s and — and even harmony’S. And I’m just — I’m just thinking, like… will wiley ever forgive any of us? Do you ever miss?

[ Chuckles ] Hi.

[ Chuckles ] Hi. Well, you know what they say. Practice the way you play. What are you practicing for? Not what, laura. Who. Looks like we’re both having a bad day. I, uh, didn’t hear you come in. Is spencer with you? He was. But then he left me. Again.

[ Sighs ] Guess we’re both on our own. You want me to move to chicago? Of course not. But this isn’t about what I want. What if it is? If you’re as interested as I am in seeing where this goes, I should stick around, right? The judge just ordered a recess, aunt liesl. Yeah. You won’t believe — I think I can meet you, though, for a quick cup of coffee.

[ Chuckles ] You’re not going anywhere. Listen, aunt liesl, something came up, so I’m not gonna be able to meet you after all. I’ll call you after the hearing. Let go of me, little girl. Nina, I will if you will. What do you want? I want you to give up the pretense that you’re a loving grandmother who only wants what’s best for wiley. That is all I want. Then why did you let scott attack wiley’s father on the stand?

excuse me for a second. Okay. Another new outfit, spinelli? Or are you just here to impress the ladies? I only aim to impress you, fair samantha. Beverage? Sure. Look, I could only say this to another quartermaine. Drew: Uh-oh. It actually feels really good… so, uh, what’s going on with you and brook lynn these days? You on? Off? It’s unclear. Oh. Even to me. Mm. Are you available to help out a former partner? I may need an emissary. At your service. I happen to speak fluent blqlq you should go mix. Mingle. Have fun. You trying to get rid of me? I’m trying to get you to seize the opportunity to find some good investors for aurora. Careful. You’re gonna live down the cliché that quartermaines eat, sleep, and drink business. Well, what can I say? I learned at my father’s knee.

[ Both laugh ] Hey, has ned spoken to you about the offer that michael and I made him? Actually, our — our paths have not crossed since the last time my dad turned down your C.O.O. Offer. Hmm. Look, if you and michael want my dad involved, this aurora-elq merger has to happen. So you better flash your smile. Actually, there is a woman at the bar, and she keeps glancing your way. She’s carrying the newest cartullo bag. Ah. I’m sure she’ll be good for a few hundred shares. Yeah. That’s not how it works. Michael, someday, wiley is gonna discover that his parents are flawed, just like you did with sonny. No, I never want wiley to see me the same way that I see sonny. I hate that sonny brought you to this point, but it’s not gonna be the same with wiley. I’m not the one who wanted to take this to court. You and michael forced my hand. Nobody forced your lawyer to say that michael is violent toward women and a baby thief. Scott just presented the facts. So it’s the fact that nelle was protecting wiley when she put a dead baby, my dead baby, in michael’s arms, and told him his son was dead? What’s the point of a pool party if nobody’s swimming? Uh, taking a wild guess here, but maybe no one wants to ruin their hair and makeup?

[ Scoffs ] Hey, I’m gonna need your help tonight. Ready and able for wing man duty. No, I-I meant keeping my glass filled. I can only survive this party in a state of cheerful oblivion.

[ Chuckles ] Uh, you’ll want to stay sober for him. Britt, brad, hey, guys. Hi. You here for the fundraiser, for the singles mixer, or both? Uh… both. Um, the company behind this is the matchmaking service my mother signed me up for. I thought the name sounded familiar. So I guess you’re feeling a little bit more optimistic. I’m optimistic about free cocktails.

[ Laughs ] Um, as for the rest, jury’s still out on. Aw. That sounds serious. What’s going on, ava? I’m just blowing off steam. Okay, but who’s got you so steamed up that you’re here at the firing range? Is it esme? Spencer? Nikolas? Do I have to choose just one? Do you have a favorite? Your son. So things aren’t any better between the two of you?

[ Gunshots in distance ] Nikolas knows that we need time alone, just the two of us, to work on our marriage. But he resents my efforts to make that happen. Do you think maybe it has something to do with your house guests? Mm, oh, I would love to blame everything on spencer and esme, but, really, they’re just a symptom. And what’s the disease? Hope I didn’t cause trouble earlier when I told you that ava had asked me and spence to move out of wyndemere in exchange for her giving him control of his trust fund. An allowance from his trust fund. I take it you and ava talked? You could say that. You argued. And I’m to blame. Can you forgive me? I thought you already knew about the arrangement and had approved. Spencer and my failure to communicate is not your fault, esme. And neither is the fact that he didn’t tell me himself. Well, don’t take it too personally. Spence only seems to communicate with trina these days. I assumed spencer and trina didn’t have much of a friendship anymore. Oh, they keep running into each other. It’s like port charles has a population of two. Sorry my son isn’t more considerate. But word of advice? Pick your battles. There’s no battle. The fighting is over. And…so is my relationship with your son.

Excuse me. Austin. Is maxie here? Uh, she’s stuck at work. She’ll be here soon. Just wanted to thank her for inviting me to bailey’s 1st birthday party. Right. Yeah. So you and brook lynn will be attending together? I can’t speak for brook lynn, but I’ll be there. Right. Can’t speak for brook lynn. So you two haven’t gotten off that roller coaster yet. Perfect timing. I’m so glad you’re here! Oh, really? Why? Well, because you’re my friend and my step-sibling. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah, I guess we are. It’s good to see you, too. Yeah, and, um, I need a favor. Damn it, I knew it. I knew it. How many people have you asked already? I’m still adjusting to the new look. It’s not a crime to overhaul my — my threads. I mean, and besides, sartorial splendor is underrated in these modern times. Yeah, but not underpriced. Wait, does this mean you’re ready to move on from ellie? Well, I mean, if I was contemplating a new romance, I could do worse than sign up for society setups and their proven track record. You know, you and nikolas both come into this marriage with your fair share of baggage. Just wondering if maybe the root of the issue is not really in the here and now but more in the past? The truth is, I fought my feelings for nikolas tooth and nail because I knew that I couldn’t trust him. But I thought you worked through that. Yeah, I thought so, too. Now I wonder, did we fall in love because we — we solved our trust issues or despite them? You and spencer broke up? In every way that matters. Spence made his choice, and it’s not me. He’s young. You both are. However bad things seem now… are you sure you can’t ride out this particular rough patch? Mm. It depends. How do you know when it’s time to give up? Wish I knew. I like you, chet. A lot. And I’ve enjoyed getting to kalso a lot.

I aut to get one of t don’t turn down this amazing job opportunity for me. What if we don’t work out, and you regret not taking the job and moving to chicago? What if I regret missing out on my chance with you? If a train doesn’t stop in your station, it’s not your train. I have no idea what that means.

[ Chuckles ] What’s meant to be won’t pass us by. But right now, this job opportunity is waiting. I just hate ending us before we’ve really begun. Today was hard. We knew it would be. But you were amazing on that stand, and there’s no way the judge is gonna grant nina’s petition. I mean, I wish I shared your optimism. You wondering when the judge is gonna finish tearing into scott? That, and I was just wondering if I have enough time to run a quick errand. Willow: Nelle made me believe my son was alive. She used my little boy, my newborn son, as a prop in her sick manipulation. You have to understand, nelle was abused by her father. No, you stop! You stop trying to rehabilitate nelle. She was irredeemable. No, she was a product of her upbringing, willow. If she hadn’t been stolen from me, then — what? You could have made all the difference in nelle’s life? Steered her off the path she was on? How would that work, nina? You were in a coma until nelle was in her 20s. Exactly. I didn’t have a chance to help her. No. You may not have raised nelle, but it’s obvious she inherited your nature. So you’re implying that people are born bad? Look at your mother. Now look at yourself and then nelle. I’m saying the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

Well, if we can’t escape our dna, you must be terrified, willow. Too bad — hello, michael. Too bad harmony’s not here to tell you who or what your real mother was. Hey. Not worth it, not worth it. Haven’t you done enough damage, nina? Oh, shut up! No, I will not. Nina doesn’t care what damage she does. She’s ripped this family apart. She’s not done yet. Distorting michael’s past and weaponizing it against him, when all michael’s done is love and protect his son in a way nelle never did. I never told anyone that you and michael weren’t great parents. No, right, you had your lawyer do it for you. You are so disingenuous, nina. You pretend to care when the reality is you never treated me well, starting from when I was charlotte’s teacher. I thought we were past that. No, i got past that. Despite your attacks on me, I gave you multiple chances when I learned that you were nelle’s mother. And how did you thank me? By exploiting my generosity and trying to manipulate me. You are not worthy of wiley. That’s not your decision to make. Well, whatever the judge rules, wiley is my son. And his childhood will be different from mine. I wasn’t protected, but wiley will be. I would never hurt that little boy. So you keep saying. But you already have. And I will lay down my life before I ever let it happen again. I commend you for your bravery. It’s hard putting yourself out there.

[ Scoffs ] Yeah, as my mother puts it, time is not on my side. Why would she say that? Oh. You know, any way to find fault.

[ Chuckles ] You know, now that my mom is paired off, she sees my singledom as a failing. Hmm. Hmm. Refills, anyone? I’m on it. Yes. I’ll take one. So, drew, how about you? On the prowl or here for a good cause? I’m not much of a prowler. Never have been. Brook lynn wanted to check out the party. Besides, it’s always great to support a good cause. Yeah, brook lynn and i have our off days, but this is one of them. I don’t know. Maybe we’re a lost cause. Is that why you’re at a singles’ event? Alright, brook lynn, what’s the favor? I have a linc issue. Why didn’t you talk to chase about it? Wait, did you ask him to do something illegal or unethical? Alright, you know what? I don’t want to know, I don’t think. Look, I thought he would be supportive. He has been supportive. Isn’t that how he got suspended from the force in the first place? He helped you out in a big way. Why don’t you cut the kid some slack? Wait, since when have you been a fan of matchmaking? Um, well, p-professional help can be more reliable than certainly my judgment. Uh, remember, I-I chose ellie, and in the end, our lives diverged because we wanted different things at different times. But perhaps… with proper vetting, I could be matched with someone whose life fits more in with mine. Yeah, but now you have a new look, which is different from your old look, which is different from the look that I’m used to you having. Uh, what’s going on, spinelli? You know what? Maybe the why doesn’t even matter. The fact is, our marriage isn’t working. Nikolas can be unfailingly generous when he wants to be, when the — the gift is something that he wants to give. But if it’s something that matters to me? He’s oblivious. You know, this may not be the right time for me to bring this up, but I-I just wanted you to know that I sent in my letter of recommendation to the adams day school. You — you wrote a letter for avery? Yeah, I did, because, well, I know the headmistress. And I also put in a call to the head of admissions. Looking forward to meeting with her to talk to her about avery. Laura, I-I don’t know how to thank you. No, no, don’t thank me. Thank nikolas, because he was the one who told me that you wanted to get avery in there. And he suggested that you write the letter? He did. And I was very happy to do it. I think it’s a great idea. I think it’s a terrific school, and avery is a terrific kid. You know, I-I mentioned the application to nikolas, and I didn’t think he was paying any attention. Mm. Well, it’s nice that he was able to pleasantly surprise you for once. Is this where you tell me not to give up too soon? Esme: Are you considering giving up on your marriage? That’s private. I only ask because… I could use advice. I mean, I’m not very experienced. Spence is my first real relationship. All I know is that we don’t bring out the best in each other anymore. We don’t put one another first the way we used to. Yeah, nobody wants to feel like a consolation prize. I deserve better. And so do you. Your wife should put you first. Or…set you free to find someone who will.

So, how much do you just hate unwanted advice? On a scale of 1 to 10? Here it is anyway. Aren’t you and brook lynn just tired of this dance? This is just how chase and I roll. One day, we’re besties, and the next, we’re not speaking. But it always blows over. Okay, yeah, sure. You know, until one day, it doesn’T. Look at you, mr. Pessimist. Look, chase is a patient guy. But everyone has their breaking point, right? There will be a day where you push him too far and he doesn’t come running when you call him. Ava… do you still love nikolas? Love isn’t always enough. Well, that’s true. But where there’s love, there’s hope.

[ Gunshots in distance ] And you know something? You have been so generous with nikolas, encouraging him to reconcile with his son. But the thing is, he’s not that good at finding the balance. He isn’t, so, you know, do you think you could be just a little more patient? And give him — give him just the time he needs to work on the two most important relationships in his life. I would give nikolas all the time in the world if he was actually working on our marriage. But he’s not. And he doesn’t even acknowledge that I deserve better. He’s not asking me to be patient. He’s asking me to keep my head down and shut up and face east.

[ Sighs ] I’d rather not discuss my marriage. Oh, of — of course. I was only trying to be a good friend to you like you’ve been to me. Can you forgive me? How can I help you? Do you need one of the maids to help you pack? Thanks, but, uh, I’ve already finished packing. Not that I know where I’m going. You’re cold.

[ Clears throat ] Old houses get drafty. Wyndemere isn’t old and drafty. It’s stately and formidable. Like the cassadines themselves. I was proud to be associated with this family, even for a little while. You know, it’s possible that, with time and — and distance, that you and spencer will find your way back to one another. Even if we could get past the mistrust, the neglect, the dishonesty, something else has changed between us, and it’s a deal breaker. What’s that? Our attraction. Spence doesn’t want to make love to me anymore. Esme — and that hurts. But I don’t have to tell you that. Spence and I aren’t the only ones in this house sleeping apart. Let’s talk about these new beginnings. Director of mental health outreach. Sounds like you’re gonna have your hands full. Well, the facility has some innovative programs that do a lot of good. And you’re already thinking of ways to make them even better. To be honest, I haven’t been this excited in a long time. Present company excluded. Hey, you’re entitled to feel excited about this opportunity. Isn’t there any way I can take this job and still see you? What are your feelings on long-distance relationships? I’m not opposed, but this job is gonna require all your energy and attention. You won’t even have time to date all those midwestern women who will be flinging themselves at you. And if this job isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and those midwestern women can’t compare to you? Then there are planes from chicago to port charles every day. But the way I got the job — your sister may have applied for the job in your name, but you got it based on your experience and credentials. All you have to decide is if you want it. And I think we both know the answer to that. I respect that you’re looking out for wiley. But don’t you understand? I’m doing the same thing. Then drop the petition. Accept that your forced presence in wiley’s life is self-serving, not to mention a constant reminder of a mother he will thankfully never know. You really want what’s best for wiley? Then give him a different lineage, a new legacy. I can’t do that.

[ Scoffs ] It’s ironic that you wear those heart pendants when you are heartless.

[ Willow sighs ] Hey. Are you okay? It’s okay, mom. I-I got this. Alright. You have a errand to run, right? I do. I do, and I wouldn’t leave if it wasn’t very important. I will be back. You stay strong. I am so sorry I lost my cool. Hey, no, hey, hey. I couldn’t be more proud of you. And wiley couldn’t ask for a more protective mother. Well, that could’ve gone worse. What, really? Judge skinned me alive. She’s gonna put my hide on her wall like a trophy. I’m so sorry. You’re not the only one who got flayed, though. Willow went after me like a mama bear. You’re not changing your mind, are you?

[ Door opens ] Bailiff: All rise. Be seated. Ms. Miller? Thank you, your honor. I would like to call willow tait to the stand.

ooh. Hi. Thank you.

[ Indistinct conversations ] The more I look around, the more I wonder, what am I doing here? Come on. You’re supporting a great cause. If that was the reason, I would have stayed home and written a check. Okay, so you’re stepping out of your comfort zone a little bit. Right? You’re giving society setups another try. Really, though, why bother? Everyone knows I’m hopeless at dating. Who’s everyone? Maxie. My mother. Spencer. Spencer? What does spencer cassadine have to do with this event?

[ Sighs ] The point is, this is a colossal waste of time. Hey. Thank you. You never answered my question. What’s going on? Samantha, I-I truly respect your sleuthing instincts. But isn’t your docket full? I mean, I know you’re looking into victor — s-spinelli, no. I always have room for you. So whatever you’re hiding, spill.

[ Sighs ] Ms. Tait, would you please state your relationship to wiley corinthos? I am wiley’s mother. And would you tell the court why you believe the petitioner’s request for visitation should be denied? Ms. Reeves does not have my son’s best interests at heart. Are you saying that ms. Reeves doesn’t love wiley? I believe that she does — on her terms, as she defines love. What worries me is that nina — ms. Reeves — feels she has a right to wiley. But I don’t believe sharing dna automatically entitles you to a familial relationship. Could you be a bit more specific? Nina kept wiley from his grandfather for months. She played an active role in breaking up the marriage of wiley’s grandparents. Today, at this hearing, she directed her attorney to attack the character of wiley’s father by grossly distorting a tragedy. And she did all of this without thinking of the cost to my son. As a mother, there is nothing I won’t do to protect my child, and that includes putting his best interests ahead of my own. And everyone worthy of being in his life should feel the same. I love my son, but I know who he is, and I know that he puts pride ahead of all other emotions. We’re both proud. Not very conducive to compromise. Ooh. That makes marriage tough, but not impossible.

[ Laughs ] You have any words of advice? Well, you know, the myth that marriage is 50/50 and that responsibilities are shared equally? Mm, I wish. Yeah, I think it’s more of a give-and-take thing. You know, one — one partner falters and the other one steps up, and — and vice versa. You know, I think that kevin and i have a really good relationship, but it’s not without its troubles. Really? Oh, yeah, for sure. I mean, we both have really, really tough jobs that — that take up a lot of our time. So we often feel like we don’t have enough time for each other. So we have to work on shutting the world out and, you know, making time to focus on each other. That’s exactly what I want. But nikolas won’t reciprocate. And so what am I supposed to do, just hold on indefinitely while I feel like I’m selling myself short?

[ Gunshots in distance ] Only you can decide that, ava. But I’ll tell you — I’ll ask you the same question that I’m going to ask my son. Would you rather be right, or would you rather be happy? Never forget that you, nikolas cassadine, are a powerful, attractive man in his prime. I admire the way you care for your family, and… while you’re trying to make ava and spence happy, you’re losing yourself. What is it you want? What is it you need? Respect. Peace. Faith. Ava should give you all of that. And more. The woman lucky enough to be in your life shouldn’t hesitate to strip herself down to the studs and give you everything she has. Everything you need. I would.

So, will it be difficult to decipher the dna results? No. Sometimes there are mutations in the markers, but the report should draw a clear conclusion based on probability. Okay. Thank you. Please confine your answers to your counsel or myself. Mr. Baldwin, cross? What? Enough.

[ Sighs ] No further questions, your honor. Have you both presented your arguments? Yes, your honor. Yes, your honor. I’ll be ready to issue my ruling within the hour. All rise. About my sister — amy only wants what’s best for you. And so do I. I’ll call the recruiter. Congratulations. If you don’t have a date next valentine’s day — you’ll be my first call. There’s nothing to spill. Just enjoy the festivities. Hold up. Nice try, spinelli, but you’re not getting off that easy. What’s going on? How annoyed are you with me, on a scale of one to really ticked off? Funny. I was about to ask you the same thing. Okay, this is pointless. I’m going to my room and going to bed.

[ Grunts ] Since when are you a quitter? You survived your demented half-brother, cassadine island, but you can’t handle an extra hour of mingling?

[ Scoffs ] That’s something my mother would say. Well, liesl’s a sharp lady. When she signed you up for this, maybe she was onto something. Society setups has got a great track record. There’s a lot of people here. Not all of them are gonna interest you, but someone might. You pack it in now, you go home, you may never know what you missed. Half an hour, not a minute more. Ava, I just have to say that… I’ve noticed that since my son’s been with you, he has grown enormously as a father, as a husband, and as a man. And as his mother, all I want is for him to be happy and to live his best life. And I guess I just always felt like he could have that with you. That’s what I wanted. I w– I wanted to live my best life with him. That doesn’t have to change, then. It doesn’T. You know, if you and nikolas want to reclaim your happiness, you can. I think it’s worth fighting for. I, uh, should be going. I told you before, you’re welcome in my home. Spence wants his trust fund back. You said it was over with spencer. What do you want? To belong. Then stay. I wish you meant that, but I know you’re just being kind. Nobody is choosing me. That’s not true. Isn’t it? Even my own boyfriend doesn’t want me. I want you. Here. Now. Prove it.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

(missing first 6 minutes-we’ll have to run it again)

Where is all of this coming from? You and spencer have always been thick as thieves. What can I say? Times change. People change. Meaning? Meaning… your son came here asking for a favor, just like you are. When he didn’t get what he wanted, he retaliated by saying some incredibly unkind things to me. Bang-up job you’re doing, raising that one. Yes. I’ve made a lot of mistakes with spencer.

[ Scoffs ] I mean, this might be a wild guess, but the whole “pretending to be dead” thing might have really messed him up a little. Not that either of you have any excuse for your entitled behavior. So you know what, mr. Cassadine? You can shove that big, fat donation up — is there a problem here? Let me get this round. If you’ll allow. Oh, yes, of course. Thank you, uncle victor. I had no idea you were back in town. Yes. My, uh, business overseas has been concluded. You missed a lot while you were gone. Then you must catch me up. Well, for starters, they found luke spencer’s killer. I imagine that’s quite a weight off your shoulders. Ah. Thanks for checking in. Alas, I am far from okay, but I’m managing. Some days, managing counts as a win. Exactly. I-I keep trying to tell myself that this title ix report is just that — a report. It’s not like a-a ruling in the court of law. Yeah, all this title ix stuff is a little new to me. Oh. You never had your university investigate you for a misconduct? No, but that’s probably because I didn’t go. Oh! Oh, my god. Um… foot, meet mouth. Hey, it was my choice. After I saw how much debt had to be taken on, I realized that there were other, better ways to achieve the life I wanted. So I started taking classes to try and figure out how to get from where I was to where I wanted to be, you know, find a passion. But nothing really spoke to me until one day, I saw the pcpd doing an outreach program, and, well, that did speak to me. I realized I could make a difference, maybe help right some wrongs. Right. And how’s that working out for you so far? Well, I’m still pretty new, but the first wrong I plan on righting is what’s happening to you. I can’t believe ava finally convinced your father to kick us out. No one is kicking us out. In fact, ava agreed to give me an allowance from my trust fund. What’s the catch? No catch. I get $10,000 a week. Really? Although we do have to move out. But, spence, uh — this place has just been so stifling, hasn’t it? Almost as much as ava’s stranglehold on my purse strings, but now you and I are both going to be free from both my father and ava, which is exactly what we’ve always wanted. Right? You’re early. I just need a few minutes, and then lunch at kelly’S. Yeah. Take as much time as you need. Are you okay, chet? You seem preoccupied. Yeah. No, it’s, uh — something sort of crazy just happened. Recruiter for the veterans hospital called this morning. They’re looking for somebody to be the director of their mental health outreach. I remember that one. You showed me the job listing a couple weeks ago, right? Yeah. But I was pretty sure I wasn’t qualified for that position. Stop doubting yourself. You worked as a medic. You volunteer. I’m sure you’d be perfect. And I’m proud of you for applying. That’s the thing. I didn’t apply. Somebody submitted my info to the recruiter. Two years ago, I was on a bridge. It collapsed. I suffered head trauma. I — I lost my memory. I was carried downriver to a small town named nixon falls. I was there a few months. Nina found me. And she knew that I had been missing and that I was presumed dead. She didn’t tell anyone that I was alive. So your son, michael, and his girlfriend, willow, the parents of wiley, they believe that nina is responsible for keeping you from your family. Nina… was responsible. But she, uh — she wasn’t the only one. Well, who else? I was.

Somebody applied for you?How would that even work? Well, the hospital goes through a recruiter who reached out to me. I just don’t know how the recruiter got my info. Maybe it was someone you served with or something you helped. A lot of people love you, chet. Well, I wouldn’t go that far. But the guys I served with were close. Maybe it was one of them. I don’t think they’d do this without telling me. Right. Well, we may never know, but let’s focus on the now. Did you get the job or not? I did. Ahh! That’s wonderful. When do you start? A few days from now. That’s fast. Yeah. And it’s in chicago. Chicago. Oh. I forgot about that part. Well, I’d hate for you to leave port charles. Yeah, me, too. Then again, we did talk all the time when you were overseas. And chicago’s, what, like a two-hour flight? That’s nothing. I guess. What’s the matter, chet? This is good news, right? Well, it’s — it’s supposed to be, but… I’m sort of seeing somebody here. Well, this is the first I’m hearing about it. Who’s the lucky lady? Dr. Randolph, I am so glad you’re here. This magnanimous donor is not listening to me. Perhaps a tag team will get through to him. What can I do for you, mr. Cassadine? I am just trying to get some information on elizabeth. That’s all. You know we can’t release medical information without a patient’s consent. Yes, I understand that. But as a friend of the patient, without revealing any confidential information, I can assure you that elizabeth herself will be able to catch you up soon. Thank you, dr. Randolph. I can live with that. You see how easy that was? Dr. Randolph is elizabeth’s friend. I am not. Are you anybody’s friend? Don’t come back here unless you’re injured or dying. Hope to see you soon. Okay. Clearly, that wasn’t entirely about nikolas. What is going on with you? Of course this is what I wanted. Then let’s get packing. But moving out of wyndemere, I mean, that’ll be complicated. Uh… we haven’t shared a room since before you went to prison. If we got our own place, does that mean… you’re ready to share a bed with me again? I’m thinking that we should get a place with two bedrooms. At least. $10k a week may not be quartermaine money, but it will keep us in style.

[ Chuckles ] Sounds perfect. So, all of the craziness happening at your house, that was your mom. Yeah. I mean, not consciously, but the medication was making her sleepwalk. Does anybody know why? I mean, not the medication, of course. I get that. But I mean why she was doing the specific things that she was doing? We don’t know. And I am terrified that my mom will not get better until we find out. Scott: So you’re saying that you’re responsible. Could you enlighten the court as to what you mean? Your honor, if opposing counsel continues to chew the scenery, I will order him a side of hollandaise. Mr. Baldwin, in the interest of everyone’s time, just let your witness answer the question. Mr. Corinthos, be my guest. I was living in — in nixon falls for months before nina found me. I did not know who I was. And before too long, I stopped trying to find out. By the time nina arrived in nixon falls, I had decided… I didn’t want to know who I used to be.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

(missing first half hour or so-we’ll have to transcribe it by hand)

She said she had something to say to me, but then brook lynn showed up and ushered her right out of the room. Weren’t you curious? I was heading into surgery. I was a little preoccupied. But I’m curious now.

[ Monitor beeping ] So, gladys is running around town with brook lynn’s corporate credit card and spending it in decidedly un-corporate ways. She treated me to drinks, plural, at the savoy. She must like you. And then she let slip that she thinks that brook lynn is pulling a scam on you.

I thought your mom would be home from the savoy a lot later than this. Well, it seems like she will be. Someone’s just using the driveway to turn around. Oh. [ Sighs ] You okay? You seem a little off. Too many pretzels, I guess. Joss, we — we didn’t have any pretzels. We don’t have to do this. No, I’m good. You sure? Yeah. Yeah, it’ll pass. Besides, don’t you want to? Well, of course I want to, but only if you do. A-and to be honest, it seems like you don’T. I will have n’neka get you a bottle of champagne. Go ahead. You deserve it. What the hell. I’d love some. Mmm. Alright.

[ Monitors beeping ] What else did gladys tell you? Nothing really. Nothing at all. She did ask me if I wanted to have a drink with her at the metro court, but, you know, I’m in the middle of my shift, so I called her a bunch of times, but she hasn’t called me back. She hasn’t returned my calls. You think brook lynn got to her? Yeah, I do. I think that’s what happened. I think brook lynn either terrified that poor woman or is paying her off to keep her mouth shut. Anyway, I hope that you have more luck with gladys than I had. I don’t need luck. Please tell me I’m having a nightmare. I remember you. Well, you should. You arrested me. Brook lynn’s music producer. Ex-music producer and a total sexist and skeezy sleaze. Now, is that any way to talk to an old friend? What are you doing here? I’d hoped you’d been dumped on a toxic waste site.

[ Scoffs ] I’m here to see the show, of course. The one on the stage, not on the floor. Okay, we don’t want a disturbance, but… if you come within ten feet of brook lynn again, you’re gonna be out on the street. Okay. There’s no need to manhandle me. I know when I’m not wanted. It’s good to see you again, brook lynn. Sonny corinthos is changing his rules, and for me?

[ Sighs ] I didn’t bring phyllis in to run charlie’s to have you stay away from her. Phyllis doesn’t know it yet, but she belongs in port charles. She could see whoever she wants to see. Even if that means you’re going to have to breathe the same air as me? Okay, nina, understand me, okay? I’m gonna tell you again. Stay away from carly. And you respect michael’s wishes when it comes to wiley. I will, I promise. I know you said that you could change the rules at any time. I just never thought it would be this soon. And in my favor. Oh. I’m doing this for phyllis. It it — if the change happens to work for you, so be it.

I know that the wsb knows more than they’re letting on to the public. What’s that supposed to mean? Well, I know that they captured a man during that assault on that compound in crete. You mean the — the one nikolas owns? Used to own. Anyway, this man that they captured, he claims to have a lead on peter august. Well, if that’s true, why is nobody telling me? I mean, I-I’m running around here like a — a chicken with no head? I don’t know. I don’t know anything. I don’t know much. I just know that this — this — the man in question, he’s demanding a — a heck of a lot in exchange for cooperation. How bad could this guy be? Well, apparently, he’s committed many crimes and acts of espionage going back decades, and the wsb, they want to prosecute him. They don’t want to cut him a deal. Oh, ava. Come on. You — you gotta help me, okay? Liesl’s life, it — it’s at stake here. Please. Who’s this guy? Oh, scott. It’s nikolas’s uncle. It’s victor cassadine. Oh, god! Ava, f or crying out loud. Now this all makes sense. That’s why nikolas didn’t help me out — ’cause he was protecting his uncle. And that’s why you didn’t help me, ’cause you were protecting your husband. Hey! You’re not drunk at all, are you? You just came in here, and you tricked me so I would spill my guts. Yeah, I did. To get the truth.

[ Scoffs ] Well, get out of here! You cretin! You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Well, I’ll tell you this, ava, though — if the shoe was on the other foot, I would do exactly what you’re doing. Okay? So, isn’t life and love all grand? I just feel so dumb. Why? Because I was the one pushing for this, and now I’m the one hitting the brakes. You’re allowed to change your mind. I know. I just don’t want to disappoint you. Joss, this is supposed to be about the two of us. Not just me. Do I want to have sex with you? Yeah, more than anything. But sex wasn’t even on the agenda this morning until, you know, it was suddenly put there. I know. Maybe it’s being at college or being around esme, who doesn’t miss an opportunity to remind me of how advanced she is. And it’s embarrassing to admit this, but you know how competitive I am, and I think a part of me just wanted to keep up. And the other part of me just wanted to get it out of the way so it wouldn’t take up all this space in my head. Well, you shouldn’t have to think about it that way. This is not a volleyball game that you have to win. I know. And I truly don’t want my first time to be about something between me and esme or about every other girl at pcu having sex. I want it to be about you and me. And I just want it to be right. Sorry, I’m late. Hi, hi. Hi. Uh, did i miss anything? No, nothing yet. I’m just glad you made it. Is everything okay? Yeah. Curtis: Everyone, can I please get your attention? Tonight is a very special night here at the savoy. So thank you all for being here. Now, it is my privilege in my honor to present, fresh from his sold-out summer tour, phideaux. Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls all you citizens of the world come on do what you will oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh oh oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh come on and do what you will welcome to reality we hope you stay this is your choice and you’re all okay mired in a binary of good and bad give it up for everything you ever had ladies and gentlemen boys and girls welcome to reality the natural world there’s a war in heaven there’s a war in rome there’s a war much closer than you even know there’s a war in heaven there’s a war in rome doesn’t matter whose side you’re on when you come home welcome to reality it’s all we know keep your grip onto this rock and don’t let go oh-oh-oh oh-oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh oh, don’t let go oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

Hey, chase. I noticed mr. Brown was bothering brook lynn. Does she even know that guy? He was her music producer. They have a history. Brook lynn and the guy got into it, and I ended up arresting them both. Really? Excuse me. Brook lynn, right? Yeah. Hey. Hi. You know, I’m sorry that linc brown guy was bothering you. I would be happy to refund the cost of your ticket to make it up to you. Thanks. That’s sweet of you, curtis. But, uh, linc wasn’t bothering me. I was just surprised to see him. Thought he knew better than to show his face in port charles again. Quartermaines run him out of town? Just one quartermaine — my dad. Well, if he gets in your face again, you let me know. I was afraid that if we didn’t do it, you’d be upset and you’d dump me.

[ Scoffs ] Joss, like that’s gonna happen? Well, it’s not like you couldn’t find someone else. I mean, the girls would be lining up. Okay, “a”, that’s just not true. And “b”, the only girl I want is you. I mean, I’ve waited years to hold your hands. I could wait a little bit longer for sex. Look, however long it takes, I know it’ll be worth it. If you had enough, we could sneak out at any time. Are you kidding? Why do you look so surprised? I was just concerned that all this might be too much for you. I know this isn’t an easy birthday. It’s not. But you’re making it special for me. H-hey. Sorry, I’m late, but for good reason — I have a line on liesl. What?! Did you — did you take it to anna? Anna devane is the last person I would take anything to. Scott, please. Just don’t go to liesl’s rescue like britt did — on your own. Okay, we all want to find her. You’ve got to put wsb in the loop. I intend to go to the wsb, but when you do, you can’t make any mistakes. You know, like when you go to sonny corinthos. So how’d it go with phyllis? Did she agree to manage charlie’s? On a trial basis. It was — that’s her decision, not mine. But that’s great, right? I mean, I know how important phyllis is to you. Well, it’s the right decision, and she’s gonna be a terrific manager. Great. We’ve never hung out at charlie’S. Well, I mean, julian jerome didn’t exactly make it appealing. Yeah, that’s true. But julian is gone and phyllis is running the place, so there’s our excuse to get to know charlie’s better. So, I — I can’t help liesl tonight. So let’s strategize about your trial. I think the best defense is a good offense. We’ve got to get sonny and michael to back off. Okay, do you have something in mind? Well, the only thing you have in common with that family is you have a legitimate claim. Mmm — mnh-mnh. Wiley’s out of bounds. No, no, no, listen. Now that nelle’s gone, you have legal rights for your grandson, and you’ve got to use those legal rights, and you’ve got to push them, push them to get sonny to back off. No, but I’m not going to use my grandson. And, scott, you’re looking at this the wrong way. Michael is the one that got the llantano county D.A. To press charges on me, not sonny. Eh, michael — michael, he takes his cues from don vito. Well, maybe the pre-nixon falls don vito, but not the man that sonny is now.

[ Scoffs ] The band is amazing, and so is this night. I’ve been doing a little table-hopping, and everybody’s having a wonderful time. Great. Except you. What’s wrong? Linc brown, the band’s producer. Chase had him arrested a while back, and ned quartermaine ran him out of town. Why? Some– something he had against brook lynn quartermaine. You know, I’m beginning to think that his appearance here wasn’t a coincidence. So you think he deliberately came here to help you out when your original band canceled? I’m thinking someone put him up to it. What do you want? What do I want? For the information on brook lynn and gladys, you must want something. No, no, no, no, we’re good on that. I mean, I can kind of tell from the way we’re talking that brook lynn may soon find herself in the hottest corner of hell. That’s enough for you, is it? Yeah, brook lynn’s misery would be my joy. I mean, if you’re feeling extra generous and you want to show some appreciation, right after you give brook lynn what’s coming to her, just tell her, “austin says hi.” Give brook lynn my regards.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

(Missing first half or so-we’ll run it again)

I need a little more context. I can help you take back your life how? Linc not only owns the rights to my songs, he’s turning them into trash, cheap imitations of what they were meant to be. To hell with linc. Write new songs. Better songs. Oh, sure, ’cause it’s totally that easy. You make it look that way. I don’t want to start over from scratch, chase. I want my old songs. I poured my heart and soul into them, and I’m not giving up until I get them back. Hi. I’m so grateful you’re here. I told you I’d be here, nina. I know. I know you did. It’s just, the looks that you’re getting from michael and willow. Maybe — maybe it’s best if you go. Because if you take my side today, sonny, you could be burning the last bridge that connects you with your son. Nina, there’s too much at stake. No, sonny — I’m not leaving.

[ Sighs ] You’re right about the stakes. Everything else can wait. When can we go see elizabeth? As soon as your daddy says it’s okay. In the meantime, have at it.

[ Chuckles ]

[ Sighs ] Grandpa, put that down and come play with me. Your wish is my command. Uncle chase taught me. He’s really good. Yeah, well, who do you think taught uncle chase?

[ Chuckles ] Watch and learn.

[ Thunk ] Oh! Oh. Did I hit someone? It’s a good thing I’m not a lawyer anymore. I might be tempted to sue.

[ Chuckles ] Laura: I am so sorry I wasn’t able to be here sooner. Tell me, how’s your mother? I — I don’t know. She’s in there right now with finn and kevin, but at least she’s not talking about ghosts anymore. That’s a good thing. But is the reality any better? I mean, all the weird stuff that was happening? How scared we all were? That was just mom stalking herself this whole time? Finn: There’s nothing to be afraid of anymore. Except for me. That’s not true. Yes, it is, and you know it. Finn, I started a fire that could have burned down a building, a whole block. I landed chase in the hospital. Who’s next? My boys? Violet? I’m a threat to everyone I care about. That’s why I have to go away. And stay away.

[ Groans ] Dad. Dad — it’s me. It’s your son.

[ Sighs, chuckles ] It’s your son, curtis. I wasn’t dreaming. No. It was you. It’s me. It’s your son. Hang on, okay? No, no, no. Get me out of here. No, let me go. No, hang on. I’m gonna go get a doctor, okay? No, don’t leave. Don’t leave me. Okay. Hold on. How long — how long was I out?

[ Sighs ] Ever since you, um… ever since you got jumped in that alley. You mean —

[ Chuckles ] — You mean ever since you came out of nowhere and you beat those guys’ butts? No. No, no, no. Don’t you? T.J.’S the real hero. If he weren’t there, it could have been a whole lot worse. You both are my heroes. My son. My son and my grandson. And to think I might have — might have lost you both. I’m not going anywhere. And neither are you. Hey. Hey, mom. Thanks for coming. Hey, where else would I be? You know, it’s —

[ Clears throat ] It’s not too late. Can we just try to settle this between us, please? After you threw harmony in my face? Wow. That’s nice. No thanks. You two, don’t engage. Okay. Okay. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come over here. No fraternizing with the enemy. This is war. I told you that if we want to win, there’s only one way to play this thing. Are you in? So you’re in? Wherever it leads? We’re in. All or nothing. Elizabeth, yo-you need more time

Who care about you, not less. And if I hurt them? You won’t! You don’t know that. What if I can’t stop myself next time and I don’t just rip up one of violet’s drawings? I burned down franco’s art studio. Who’s to say that I’m not going to do that to my own house?

[ Door opens ] Elizabeth? Laura. Hi, honey. Oh, sweetheart. I know you’re scared, but trust me, it will be okay if you just face whatever it is that’s wrong and deal with it. Can we agree on that? Oh, I’d listen to her if I were you. I always do. Just don’t know how to do this. And that’s why you have all of us to help you. No, I mean, what if the resources here at gh just don’t cut it? Well, then we’ll find the place that will. A place where you feel safe, where you can get the care you need. Do you hear that? You’re gonna have to let me go. It’s the only way I can find my way back. I don’t know what’s worse, the watered-down lyrics or the generic techno beat that any 12-year-old can produce on an app, and probably did. The techno beat, hands down. You’re right. So what’s the plan?

[ Sighs ] Are you gonna sue linc to get your songs back? I know an attorney who specializes in intellectual property. She helped my dad with one of his academic papers. Unfortunately, that’s not an option. I spoke to diane miller a few years back, and the contract is airtight. Okay, but that was a long time ago. I double checked this morning, okay? I can’t sue linc, so I need a plan B. And that’s where I come in? I did a lot of soul searching. And it would have been easy to — to blame you like I did the first time you walked out, but… when I looked in the mirror, I didn’t see a scared little boy anymore, holding his brother’s hand. I saw a grown man who was so bound and determined to get answers that I essentially drove you away. Curtis, this — this wasn’t your fault. I was — I wasn’t able to — I couldn’t — couldn’t be honest with you, or myself, so it was easier for me to run away again. I’m not gonna lie. I do have questions. I’m sure you do.

[ Sighs ] But whether or not I get answers, I just want you to come home to your family. You know, no strings, no conditions, just… a chance to start fresh for all of us, you know? Yeah. I really hope you want that, too. Sorry, I was trying to make violet’s frisbee boomerang. Ah. Didn’t quite work out as planned. Well, you might want to work on that. I will.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah. Thanks. Um, honey, here. Why don’t you go show off your — whoa — your bubble-blowing skills. Here you go. Uh, so, alexis, why don’t we start over? What brings you to the park today? I was just finishing up a tai chi class down at the duck pond. Oh! I’ve always wanted to try tai chi. The movements look so beautiful. Therapeutic.

[ Laughing ] Yeah, well, I can use all the therapy I can get. I don’t know if finn told you, but it’s been quite the year. My son’s not much of a talker, you may have noticed. Oh, he would enjoy the tai chi then, because the silence is deafening.

[ Chuckles ] Is this your way of expressing your opinions these days? You’re a reader? I am. Can’t quite say I’m a fan. Nina, nice work getting sonny here today. I didn’t do anything. Wait a minute, what are you talking about? If I — if I get him up on that stand, he’s not gonna be in your corner? Scott, don’t put sonny in that position.

[ Groans ] Come on, nina. You told me to do what I needed to do, so let me do it. Bailiff: All rise. The honorable judge foster presiding.

Ase presentyour petitioner’s request. Oh, gladly, your honor. My client, nina reeves, the mother of the late nelle benson-jerome, is seeking visitation of her grandson, wiley corinthos, as permitted in new york state law. I am presenting a precedent in the abercrombie and higgins case — your honor.

[ Clears throat ] As the court is well aware, there are numerous other precedents to deny visitation, and my clients are very eager to explain to you why that should be the case. Ms. Miller, you’ll have your turn. I read the petition, but I’d like to hear your client’s request in her words. Ms. Reeves, would you please come forward? Bailiff: Do you solemnly state that the evidence given in this matter will be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? I do. I guess I just assumed that as a professor of history and journalism, that you might approve of the changes that I made at

the invader. Unless, of course, it’s my inexperience that’s giving you pause. Experience doesn’t equal talent. Agreed. Look at dickens or hemingway. They both started as journalists in their teens. Something to aspire to. I’d suggest you aim smaller. Like maybe your local coverage, specifically your feature on nina reeves. See, I find that interesting, because I was very proud of that story. I thought it was very truthful and unbiased. Was it? Did you prefer

the invader the way it was before? Tabloid fodder, opting for the sensational? At least as a reader, you knew where you stood. No offense, but it seems to me you want your journalism both ways. You want us to send mom away? No, it’s not what I want. But if it’s what she needs to get better, then, yes, we’ll do it. Thank you for being realistic. My love. I’m a danger right now to myself and everyone around me. It’s just not safe for us to be together right now. Mom, you — you would never hurt us. We just don’t know that for sure. I know it’s — it’s awful and it’s scary, and it makes me feel so out of control. But it’s the truth. And I just love you so much. Love you too, mom. I refuse to let whatever it is that’s doing this to me harm you or your brothers. It’s just not an option. Finn? I need you to have my back on this. I have your back. Always. I just don’t see the benefit of hiding you away from the people who can help you. I know how hard this is, finn, I do. I really do. But right now, we all have to do what’s best for elizabeth. Do you know what you’re setting yourself up for? Oh, I do. I ran away not once, but twice. Who’s to say the next time I feel the walls closing in on me, I won’t lace up my sneakers yet again? Because there won’t be any walls, at least not between you and me. There’s nothing that you can say that’s gonna scare me off or turn me against you. You’re my father, marshall ashford, flesh and blood. Nothing comes between us unless we let it. Granddad! Hey, you’re awake. Awake? Boy, would you — you know it’s gonna take more than a couple of muggers to get the better of an ashford. Damn straight.

[ Laughing ] Oh, lord. And you better be thanking him, too. Aunt stella, what are you doing here? I’m taking care of my family, since it’s obvious that you guys need me. How? Portia told me what happened, and I jumped on the first flight out. Do you know how lucky you are this wasn’t worse? What, luck? No luck was needed. I had my son and my grandson by my side.

[ Laughter ] Well, ms. Reeves, could you tell the court why we’re here today? We’re here today because wiley’s my grandson and I love him. It’s really that simple. So how well did you know nelle benson? Not — not really well. She, um, worked with me briefly in different capacities. Nelle, she was a troubled soul. She, um, made countless mistakes and damaged a lot of lives, but no life was more damaged than my daughter’S. Well, when did you find out, in fact, that she was your daughter? I didn’t know that nelle was my daughter until after she died, and that’s when I realized that wiley was my grandson, all that I had left of nelle in this world. Did you get to see him? I did. And how was that? It was great. It was great. Love at first sight, at least for me. And how — how did wiley feel about your visits? Well, lucky for me, wiley made it really easy. He has such a warm, inviting spirit. We did these block houses, and we — we colored together, we’ve read together. Every minute that I get to spend with that little boy was a precious gift. So what happened? Why did his parents just cut you off? Because they decided that I was a bad influence on wiley. I’m not perfect. I’m not claiming to be perfect. I’m far from it, actually. But I am — I am this. I’m a good grandmother, and I love him. And he loves me. It’s that simple. He is my family, and no matter how much you want to, you can never change that.

On board with this plan. Where would you even go? Shadybrook. It’s perfect. It’s excellent. It’s close. It’s comfortable. Wait, they’re not gonna lock her up in some padded cell or something? No.No, it’s not that kind of a place. Well, what kind of place is it? She could expect a week or two of intensive conversation and exploration, and then hopefully, she can transition right into outpatient care. Laura: How does that sound? I’m more concerned with what you think. I want to do this with your support. You really think this is what’s best for you? Yes. Okay. Let’s give it a shot. I’ll — I’ll take you there, and I’ll come visit you as often as I can. No, you won’T. I won’t? You can’T. I have to do this on my own. I was thinking, since you have two weeks left on your suspension, maybe you could shadow linc. Catch him doing something shady that we could use to get my music back. What do you say? I say you’re crazy. Three strangers to three amigos. Wow, when did this happen? I’m just trying to convince marshall to come back to port charles with us. Is that even a question? Apparently. Marshall ashford, do you think I flew all this way to let you go back to a loner life? Some people like to be alone,

stella. You are not one of them. But you’d be a fool if you don’t grab this chance with both hands. Is it okay if i take a look at the patient? Yeah, please. We’ll get out of your way. It won’t take long. Thank you. Did marshall ever explain why he left to begin with this time? I really didn’t want to push him. But T.J. May have answers based on what he found in marshall’s room. T.J.: These aren’t for high blood pressure. They’re antipsychotic medication. But you knew that already, didn’t you? If by “both sides,” you mean telling the truth and turning a profit, guilty as charged. You see, I’m not a professor that sits in an ivory tower. I am editor in chief of a paper, so I have to tell stories about real people with real problems. So you think I don’t know anything about real life? Is that it? No, that’s not what I said. I-I — you just used dickens and hemingway as examples. So this is, in fact, the 21st century. I’m competing with 24-hour news cycles. I’m competing with social media. I’m competing with instant, and I mean instant, information. And I admire you for that. See, I’m not getting that impression. But isn’t there a danger in trying to mix titillation with telling the truth? It seems to me, in the long run, you end up accomplishing neither. If you bothered to read the latest article, which clearly, you did not, you would see that I bent over backwards to be objective and not take cheap shots at either party, like your ex, jackie templeton. We’re talking about your journalistic integrity, not hers. Grandpa, I don’t think you’re playing nice. Ms. Reeves, are you wiley’s only grandparent? Nina: No. No? Well, can you tell us who else is? Relevance, your honor? I’ll t my client is being denied access to her grandson. It seems like there’s a standard for her and another for everybody else. Judge foster: I’ll allow it. Please answer the question, ms. Reeves. Wiley has two other grandparents who are here in the courthouse, carly corinthos and sonny corinthos. Oh, so, sonny corinthos can see his grandson any time he wants, but you’ve been deemed a bad influence? Objection. Withdrawn. So is that it? I mean, as far as grandparents go? No, wiley had another grandmother, harmony miller, but she recently passed away. Harmony miller, who killed neil byrne and his brother and attempted to kill two other people? That’s correct. So she was able to see him and you’re not? Wow. Okay, ms. Reeves, we’re done. If it please the court, I have a few questions for the petitioner.

you have testifiedthat you did not know nelle was your daughter until after her death. Nina: That’s right. Did anyone else know that she was your daughter before you? Yes. Carly corinthos and jasper jacks. And did they know that she was your daughter before her death? Well, carly claimed that she didn’t know that nelle was my daughter before she died, but I have my doubts. You have your doubts, yeah. I bet that’s probably upsetting, huh? To find out that I had a daughter only after she died? Yeah, it’s upsetting. I can imagine you would regret all the time you weren’t allowed to spend with your daughter. Of course I did. If I would have known — what? I’m sorry. If you had known that nelle was your daughter, what? I’m just saying things would have been different. How so? Well, I could have raised her. I could have given her the love that she deserved to have, and then nelle wouldn’t have turned out the way she did, and none of this would have been set in motion. Ms. Reeves, you’ll correct me if I am wrong, but weren’t you in a coma from prior to your daughter’s birth until she was in her 20s? Yeah. Yeah. So this regret, this, “oh, I could have parented her, I could have raised her,” this is all just some delusional, twisted fantasy. Scott: Objection, your honor! I don’t hear a question in there, do you? How’s this for a question? Isn’t this petition of yours an act of revenge? Objection. Leading the witness. I’ll rephrase. Isn’t this petition of yours yet another act of revenge? You really don’t have wiley’s best interests at heart at all, do you? You know, maybe we should give you two some privacy. I’ll call shadybrook. Okay. Come on, let’s go.

[ Door closes ] I mean, I’m not second guessing your decision. You sure about that? Okay, if I am, it’s because I feel like I’m part of this, too. I know you are. I mean, at the very least, my — my presence in your life has played a part in bringing on this… crisis? Sure, let’s go with that.

[ Chuckles ] But don’t you see? That’s why you can’t be a part of this. You were so convinced that there was someone out there trying to split us up, and I was equally convinced that it was franco’s ghost. We were both really wrong.

[ Chuckles ] Is it me? Is there something buried deep down that feels threatened by my feelings for you? As scary as this is, and as much as I really want you to hold my hand through all of this, you just can’T. Because I have to do this on my own. I thought you were on my side. I am. Well, obviously not. Brook lynn, do you have any idea how many laws you’re asking me to break?

[ Scoffs ] One, we don’t have a warrant. Two, you’re talking about blackmail here. And four — you were on three. Yes, three, yes, I’m suspended, but I’m still a cop. But not for long if I take part in this highly unethical plan of yours. Oh, so now I’m unethical? Well, yeah, in this moment. You’re asking me to coerce a suspect into committing a crime. It’s called entrapment. I don’t care what it’s called, chase. I can’t just sit back and do nothing. And I get that. No, you don’t! These songs are my babies, and I will not let someone take them away from me. Babies? Yes. I created them. I nurtured them. I cried when they failed. And I celebrated when they were genius. That’s how much they mean to me. That explains it. What? You’re not just mourning your songs, you’re mourning bailey. Auntie, there’s a story here. It started about 40 years ago, when marshall left home. And if he still has a prescription for these kind of meds, the story continues to this day. I know you want answers, and you deserve them. Yes, there’s a story. But like I said, it is not mine to tell. How’s he doing? It looks like a concussion, but I’d like to run a few more scans before considering discharge. If you’re concerned that he’ll be alone the next few days — don’t worry. He won’t be. Sweetheart, you know, sometimes you go to the playground and you get on one end of the seesaw — and somebody gets on the other end of the seesaw. And then they lift you up in the air, but then they don’t let you down? I don’t like that. Exactly. And then you get upset and then they get upset. And then you end up arguing over a silly seesaw. Is that what you guys were being? A silly? Yes. I apologize for my criticism. Do you retract it? No. No retraction necessary. I have an idea. Why don’t you put your money where your mouth is? Why don’t you state your opinion in print on the record? Unless, of course, you’re all talk. Your honor, this i s characterassassination at its worst. Get to where you’re going and fast, counsel, or drop the line of questioning altogether. Your honor, her character is the sole reason we are here today. But of course, absolutely. Ms. Reeves, are you familiar with the series of articles in the invader? Yes, I — I skimmed it. You skimmed it? So then you know that in addition to other details of your very full and rich life, it speaks of the time you spent in a little town called nixon falls. Now, is that portion of the story a lie? Like I said, I skimmed it. Right, you only skimmed it. Okay, how’s this? Is it a lie to say that while you were in nixon falls, you ran into wiley’s grandfather, sonny corinthos, when everyone else presumed him dead? That’s true. Right. And did you keep the knowledge from mr. Corinthos that he was presumed dead, while at the same time keeping the knowledge that he was very much alive from his wife, from his family, including precious little wiley, knowing the pain and suffering it would cause? Your honor. Badgering. Sustained. At — at that moment, I wasn’t thinking about the pain and suffering. No, of course you weren’T. You were just thinking about revenge, getting back at carly corinthos because she possibly kept the secret of nelle’s existence from you. And isn’t it that same revenge that is driving you today?

You’re right, elizabeth. Mm, god, I love it when you say that.

[ Chuckles ] I got to admit, I’m not real crazy about the idea of letting go. Me neither. But in this case, I guess I have to, or I might impede your recovery, and I-I wouldn’t want that. Thank you. Would it be okay if I said I’m really gonna miss you? I’m gonna miss you. But you heard kevin. It might only be a few weeks. Yeah, sure. Back in no time. Yeah, good as new. I liked the old version. Then good as old. Even better. You’re all set. So kevin and i will drive you over. Okay. Right? Just get better, mom, okay? I will make sure that jake and aiden stay in line while you’re away. I know you will. I’ve never been more proud of you than I am right now. We’re proud of you, too. We all are. Are you inviting me to submit something for publication?

The invader welcomes all kinds of opinions. Unless you’re afraid to hear back from the readers. Grandpa’s not afraid of anything.

[ Cellphone chimes ] Is that daddy? Are we going to aunt elizabeth? Let’s do it. Well, give my best to finn and elizabeth. I will. Okay, got it? You forgot. No thanks. Have a good one, alexis. You, too. I’ll go ahead and sign off on those tests. Thank you. I’ve been less than honest about a lot of things. It’s time, marshall. Time to let go of the past. You know what? I think it can wait. What matters now is getting you better. No, no. I appreciate that, but stella is spot-on. Curtis, you deserved an explanation a long, long time ago. I wasn’t able to get it right with tommy, but I can get it right with you. What happened in nixon falls was much more complicated than you’re making it. Not really. You either lied or you didn’T. Which is it? I — I lied. Who hasn’t lied in here? It doesn’t make me a bad grandmother. I love wiley. How can I prove to wiley how much I love him if I’m shut out of his life? How can I prove it not just by my words, but by my actions? With all due respect, ms. Reeves, you had that chance, and you threw it in the garbage. No further questions. You may step down. Well, I think you did it. Let’s hope. Well, that’s the end of that. Is anyone else prepared to speak for or against the petition? Get me on the stand. No, sonny. No. You don’t have to do this. Yes, I do.

daddy! Hello, you. How’s your mom doing? She’s going to a place where they can give her the care that she needs. How long will she be gone? Uh… aunt elizabeth will be home as soon as she feels better. I hope that’s soon. Me, too, sweetheart. Me, too. Elizabeth: Hi, baby girl. Aunt elizabeth! Hi. Oh. If you want, you can take this with you. Oh, thank you so much. You hang on to it, and we’ll play when I get back. Okay. Deal? Deal. Hug for the road? Oh, I love you. And you don’t think you’re getting out of another one. I wouldn’t want to. I love you. I love you, too. I’ll give you a hug, but I’m not saying goodbye. It’s a “see you later.” I’ll see you later. Not if I see you first. Tell my boys I love them and that I’ll be home as soon as I can, okay? You got it. You ready for those scans? Careful now. You got precious cargo there. Once he gets the all clear, mr. Ashford can head home. You know what? That’s exactly where I’m going — home. With my family. This has nothing to do with bailey. No? No. It’s about me taking my life back, everything I’ve worked for. So are you gonna help me or not? I’m sorry, brook lynn. I can’T.

[ Scoffs ] Then I’ll do it myself. Mr. Baldwin, if you and your client have no more witnesses to call… your honor, we have one more witness to call. Sonny corinthos to the stand.

dante: Hey. Hey. What’s up? How you doing? Good. Took the liberty of getting you a coffee. Well, you know you can’t go wrong with a cup of corinthos coffee. Oh, I didn’t get you corinthos coffee.

[ Laughs ] Wanted to see if you were gonna go to the hearing on, uh, nina’s petition to see wiley. Yeah, I’m going. You are? Good. You sound surprised. Well, I — I am surprised that I thought maybe you wouldn’t go, but… you know, he won’t admit it, but michael will appreciate having your support. I’m gonna be at the hearing, but I’m gonna be testifying on nina’s behalf, not michael. Brook lynn: There has to be a way out of this. Just think of some sneaky lawyer move and call me back.

[ Sighs ]

[ Sighs ] Bad news? Why can’t contracts be written in plain english? I mean, do lawyers take classes about how to make things as confusing as possible? Can I help?

[ Scoffs ] Morning. Morning. Oh, the petition hearing’s today, huh? Yeah, yeah. This hearing is our best chance to keep nina away from wiley. I can’t tell what you’re thinking. Are you nervous? Determined? All of the above? Sounds like

you’re the nervous one.

[ Sighs ] I just hate that this has become a court battle. I was hoping for a compromise. Oh, well, we’re way past compromising. That awful feature in the invader, that proves that willow and michael aren’t pulling any punches. Well, maxie, I have a few punches I can throw myself.

[Yawning] Can we get lattes instead? It’s a little early for yoga. It’s never too early for yoga. You were totally on board when I asked you. That was before last night. I didn’t get to sleep until, like, early this morning. Ooh. Hot date?

[ Scoffs ] No. Running an errand for my aunt. What kind of errands? Delivering paperwork. I’m not a drug mule. I didn’t say you were. You didn’t have to. You looked it.

[ Sighs ] Namaste. Namaste.

[ Laughs ] Well, that was helpful.

[Laughing] I know. Sorry. I’m sorry. You know, I wanted to take a private class because — I don’t know — I thought it would make me feel better. I’m going to court today, and I really wanted to be centered so I didn’t do something that I would regret. Oh. Thank you.

[ Sighs ] Any news? Hey, T. Thanks. Yeah, um, the doctor’s examining marshall right now, says there hasn’t been any changes since last night. Look, why don’t you join molly back at the hotel and get some rest? I’ll call you if I hear anything. And if I said the same thing to you? Never mind.

[ Scoffs ]

[ Indistinct conversations ] So I know that, um, hipaa prevents dr. Yuan from telling me anything about marshall’s condition. But you’re a doctor. Couldn’t he tell you from one doctor to another? I’m not

marshall’s doctor. All I know is what I observed when granddad and i were mugged — that knife cut very close to a major artery in marshall’s arm and that blow to his head was severe. Oh. Well, I know that, uh, when dr. Yuan asked about marshall’s medication last night, it let me know how very little I know about my dad. I mean, we had gotten close, but… marshall still hasn’t let me into his life. I did use marshall’s motel keycard last night. We had to go through his personal effects to look for his blood-pressure medication. And? I found something I wasn’t expecting. Hey, your text was cryptic, as usual. How’s elizabeth? Wait. Why’s she even here? Situation’s complicated. Terry’s in there with her right now. I… I think I know who’s been harassing elizabeth. Not all your tests are in yet.

[ Zipper glides ] Getting back into bed might not be the worst idea in the world. I’m fine. [ Sighs ] Call me with my scan results.

[ Device beeps ] Oh, your blood work is normal.

[ Scoffs ] There’s nothing “normal” about having no memory of leaving laura’s place and going to mine or cutting up the drawing that violet gave me. Am I losing my mind? I didn’t win the lawsuit, but everybody knows I wrote that song.

So, elizabeth was sleepwalking? Apparently. She was completely unresponsive when cam and i found her at her place. She was tearing up a photo that violet had drawn for her. I’ve heard some pretty extreme stories of sleepwalkers doing some wild stuff. Mm-hmm. I guess that would explain the fire in franco’s art studio. Yeah, the portrait on the mantel, the — the wedding ring in the locker.

[ Elevator bell dings ] You said that someone slashed her wedding dress. That someone was elizabeth? Uh, excuse me. Sorry. I couldn’t help but overhear. But maybe I could shed some light on elizabeth’s behavior. By all means.

[ Sighs ] People have been known to carry on entire conversations, take a walk, even drive a car while technically asleep. I’m going to go speak to elizabeth now and see if we can’t uncover some underlying cause. Kevin, please tell her I’m here waiting for her if she needs me. Of course. Thank you. How long does elizabeth have to stay here? I only — I only brought her in for tests just to see if there’s not a physical reason for her behavior. I mean, she — she’s free to go at any time. “Physical reason”? Wait. You mean like a brain tumor? Yeah, it’s a — it’s a — it’s a remote possibility. I’m — I’m hoping it’s just the sleep medication she’s been taking. Terry: Elizabeth wants to see you. Okay. Why aren’t you in bed? Do all you doctors give out unwanted advice from the same medical texts? You’ve been a nurse long enough to know the answer to that. I’m gonna tell you what I told kevin and terry — I’m fine. I bet they believed you as much as I do. The blood work is normal. And kevin thinks it might be my sleeping pills that are responsible for my sleepwalking, along with everything else that’s gone along with it. Okay, well, that’s — that’s good news, right? Yes, and I’m praying it stays the same, but I’m not gonna feel better until I know for sure. Okay, well, at least we know you and the boys aren’t in any danger. I hope not. I know not. If you are the one behind all this, you would never seriously hurt someone. Tell that to chase. So you’re determined. Good. Thank you for your support, maxie. You’re family. But are you sure going for the jugular is a good move? I’ve known michael a long time, and he’s a decent guy. Until he isn’T. I-I’m just s-saying, nina, you can’t escalate your way to a compromise. I have been trying to compromise, but it’s obvious that michael and willow, they don’t respect my rights as wiley’s grandmother. You know, I’m not gonna walk away from nelle’s little boy. And sonny doesn’t think that I should walk away, either. You’re gonna testify against your own son? No, I’m not testifying

against michael. I’m supporting nina’s right to be part of wiley’s life. That’s great. Michael’s not gonna see it that way. Michael doesn’t want any part of me. You know that. So why shouldn’t I stand up for a woman who just wants to see her grandson? You honestly don’t see the problem with that? Do you think michael’s being reasonable? Do you honestly believe that nina would hurt wiley? She loves that boy. Hmm. Maybe. But you could say she already hurt wiley by leading us all to believe that you were dead.

[ Sighs ] Michael has every right to protect his son from her lies. You know, nina’s already apologized a thousand times over. Michael is angry ’cause his mother divorced me… mm-hmm. …And he blames me, so he’s going to retaliate by punishing nina. Yeah. Like father, like son. Hey, if you want, I could watch wiley while you guys are in court. Wiley would love a visit from his uncle drew. He’s in the playroom with the nanny, and then josslyn’s taking him to the park later. Okay. Oh, well, good luck today, guys, not that you need it. Nina should just save herself the drama and quit now. Nina loves drama. She’s cast herself as the victim, and she can’t wait to play it out in front of the judge. Yeah, she’s determined to drag this out to the bitter end. Yeah, well, some people just prey on the innocent and vulnerable.

[ Sighs ] What’s this? Another family meeting I wasn’t invited to? The hearing for nina’s petition to spend time with wiley is today. Yeah, you know, uh, we should go. Michael, wait. I’m sorry. Nina has done enough harm to your family. I hope you win. Thank you. Good luck, guys. Brook lynn: Bye. That was nice, dad. We q’s, we gotta stick together. Hm. We certainly do. Hi, stacey. Are we early? Uh, a little bit. Veronica’s teaching the next class. Good luck. Thank you. Carly: I was just leaving. Carly. Do you have a second? What do you want? Well, obviously the hearing on nina’s petition to see wiley is today. I’m not discussing my grandson with you, brad. Uh, brad, why don’t we do some stretching before class? Look, I-I know I have no right to love wiley, but I do. And I will always regret having hurt him and lucas. That’s great. Keep on regretting and keep your distance. Look, uh, michael respects your opinion. Maybe you can suggest he work things out with nina without involving the court. Why would I do that? For wiley. He doesn’t deserve more turmoil in his life. More turmoil. The turmoil began with you, okay? Get out of my way. Hey, no — not yet. At least hear him out, carly. Please stay out of it, britt. Excuse me. What happened with michael and aj could happen all over again with wiley. Doctor, is my father okay? Has he regained consciousness? Mr. Ashford’s condition is stable, but he’s weak from heavy blood loss. What did the mri and the cat scan show? Unfortunately, mr. Ashford hadn’t designated either of you as his medical proxy. Right. All I can tell you is that his results were encouraging. Okay. Why is he still unconscious? Head injuries are tricky. Sometimes the body shuts down to give the brain time to heal. And what are the possibilities of any lingering aftereffects? It depends on the patient. Wait. What are we talking about, aftereffects? Uh, memory loss, reduced cognition, partial paralysis. But marshall’s tough. You know, he could wake up and be completely fine. Can we go see him? Well, the nurse is with your father now. She’ll let you know when you can go in. Right, right, right. I’m sorry. I have to go. I assure you, marshall is getting the best care possible. Thank you. Uncle, I’m sorry. I just gave you the worst case scenario. There’s no reason marshall should have any of those aftereffects. I can’t even worry about that right now, tj. You got to tell me what you discovered in marshall’s motel room. His medication. It’s not what we thought. This isn’t for his heart? It’s an antipsychotic.

Lly think that wewere meeting behind your back? No. I was joking.

[ Glass thuds ] You’re still opposed to the aurora/elq merger. Yes. Because I believe I am the right choice to lead elq after we get rid of valentin. I’m trying to be as tactful as possible here, ned. You have no media experience. So you throw me a bone and make me C.O.O.? You don’t want that position, that’s fine. Make me a counteroffer. I mean, anything other than ceo.

[ Scoffs ] You and michael are in no position to offer me anything. Every time this family needed me at elq, I stepped up! I have a longer history with this company than you or even michael. You know what? You’re right. I did miss a few board meetings while I was being held prisoner by peter august. Well, you certainly didn’t race back to the company after you were freed. Enough! What is it with this family?! Does everything need to be a death cage match? Marshall is on an antipsychotic? So when he collapsed back in january, that wasn’t because of his heart? It could have been. Some antipsychotics can cause heart issues. After the attack, marshall might have switched to a different prescription. Why would someone be on medications like this? Many reasons. There’s no way to know marshall’s actual diagnosis. Unless marshall wakes up and tells us himself.

[ Knocking, door opens ] Going somewhere? Yeah, well, I don’t do well laying down. Chase, I am so sorry for giving you a concussion. Hey, I can’t be mad when you weren’t even aware of what you were doing.

[ Sighs ] Oh. You’re a much better person than I am. But I’m not retracting my apology. I can’t ever imagine wanting to hurt you. Your test results are in. First of all, I w– I was ready to stand up for michael despite feeling like, you know, nina has every right to see her grandson. And as you know, I went over there. He rejected me, everything that I stand for. Am I supposed to sit back andjust, like, you know, take it? Do you hear yourself right now? You’re proving my point. What’s your point? That michael is too much like you — lashing out at nina. Alright. So you agree h-he’s being unreasonable?

[ Sighs ] I think you both need to grow up before you lose each other forever. Wait. Bobbie threw a drink in your face? Did you throw one back? No, but I wanted to slap her, but sonny — he stopped me. And that’s actually a really good thing, ’cause I don’t want to give michael and willow any more ammunition against me. So sonny looked after you? Yeah, he’s on my side. Are you thinking there’s a chance for you and sonny? Wait a minute. You can go if you want to go, but don’t do that on my account. Because, for me… you being around… is not trouble. I think so, even though his entire family hates me. Maxie: Well, I am sorry about his family. Yeah, I feel horrible about how bad it’s gotten, but I’m not going to apologize for caring for sonny. And he cares about me, too. He even offered to testify on my behalf. -Oh, I — -wait. Did I hear that right? My father’s gonna be a character witness for you?

Ou’re certain my mriis completely normal? I would never lie to you about this, biz. Okay. So there’s no physical reason for my sleepwalking? Not according to the tests we’ve run so far. What about the sleeping pills? How long have you been taking them?

[ Sighs ] I don’t know. I-I got them after franco was killed, and then my schedule got really crazy. And I would take one in the morning after I worked a night shift. The pills could affect your behavior. I’m gonna order more tests. Kevin. Hm?

[ Door opens and closes ] Could my actions be the result of just medication, or is there a deeper problem behind all of this? What are you talking about? You and sonny kept aj away from michael for years. And when aj came back to port charles, michael was an adult and wanted a relationship with his father. Okay. Brad, don’t go there. I can’t even explain to you how many ways you have this wrong. I was in prison, carly. You know why? Yeah, because you tried to pass michael’s son off as your own. Because the truth always comes out. And when wiley finds out that nina is also his grandmother, he’s going to want a relationship with her and feel that he was cheated and robbed of that while he was growing up. Or…when wiley is an adult and he’s able to comprehend all the damage nina did to various members of his family, he’s gonna be grateful that he doesn’t have her hovering over him, demanding that he love her like the narcissist that she is. Okay. Need to put my bag away. You need to get better friends, britt, because he’s an idiot.

[ Scoffs ] He can be… but right now he kind of has a point. Testifying for nina crosses the line, dad. You’re the one who told me that michael’s not only cutting me out of his life, but he’s actively working on taking me down. What am I supposed to say to michael? “It’s okay, mike. Go ahead. Thank you.”

[ Chuckles ] No. Well, I mean — well, okay, I’m telling you back off a little bit. Let him cool down. Oh… he sees his job as protecting wiley and willow. Okay? Like it or not, nina has a history of questionable behavior. Willow just found out that harmony killed neil and brendon byrne to prevent the secret that she wasn’t willow’s biological mother from coming out. I mean, michael, he’s circling the wagons, man. He’s — he’s reacting to everything. Everything is a threat to him right now. I’m not a threat. I’m his father. Well, then act like it. Wait until nina’s petition is resolved and things die down. What if I don’t? Then you run the risk of losing wiley and michael for good. After the way you’ve been treating him, sonny’s decided that he’s done supporting you. -I see. -Maxie: Okay. Alright. Does it really have to be like this? We’re all adults here. Can’t we just act like it? The only one not acting like an adult is nelle’s mother. You have no place in wiley’s life. Regardless of what you thought of my daughter, wiley is my family. And we all know how important that is, right? I mean, there’s no limit to the number of people who can love a child. I say the more the merrier. Now, if felicia hadn’t killed peter, was he going to be part of bailey’s life? Isn’t the main thing to get valentin out as ceo? What does it matter who — who replaces him? You’re right. You’re right. I mean, we should just focus on getting rid of valentin. I need to get changed for work. Okay. Hey.

[ Sighs ] I love your passion. Look, we’re family. We should be fighting together, not against one another. I couldn’t agree more. I really couldn’T. But I get the feeling that there’s more to this than just elq. What’s going on?

[ Sighs ] Is it that contract? Because maybe we can figure it out together. My producer’s back in town. And that’s not a good thing? That’s correct. While you were gone, he followed me back to port charles. You look up the word “sleazy” in the dictionary, you will find a picture of linc’s face. What did he do? He started this whole mess, in a way. I was just so desperate to get rid of him that valentin bought out my contract in exchange for my elq shares. Oh, that’s how he became ceo. Yeah. Lucy coe, she cast the tie-breaking vote. And I’m guessing that’s the contract in question? Yes. It was the most reckless, short-sighted thing I have ever done, was to sign that contract. And now linc claims to own all my “intellectual property” that was created under contract with him. All your songs? Yes. He even has demos of my songs, so it’s not even like I could claim that they were written when I wasn’t under contract with him. I just — I don’t see a way out of this. The court sent — the court sent marshall to a psychiatric facility after he was arrested from that protest. When I confronted marshall about the truth, he refused to talk about his diagnosis. Can someone take these meds for decades and then still consider themselves cured? With the right medication. Many people diagnosed with mental illness can manage their symptoms and still live quality lives. I just don’t understand why marshall would abandon his family and let tommy and me think that he was dead. With mom’s approval. It can — can take time to settle on the right medication. Maybe marshall was volatile. Not to mention the stigma attached to mental illness. It wasn’t nearly understood back then as it is today. Yeah. Right.

[ Curtain opens ] Mr. Ashford, you can see your father now. Thank you. I’ll be right here. Thanks, T.

[ Sighs ]

[ Monitor beeping ] Marshall ashford. The more I get to know you… the more questions I have.

Did you speak to a lawyer?

[ Sighs ] Yeah. He’s looking for a loophole. And you say this guy is, like, super sleazy? He’s most-wanted on metoo’s list. Sue him for sexual harassment. That’ll void the contract. Yeah, um, I sort of punched him a couple times. Look, linc, he pushes my buttons. I was really hoping I would never have to deal with this creep again. Easier said than done if he owns all your songs.

[ Sighs ] I guess I’m just gonna have to live with this. Look, you can move on in the sense that you just write more music, music that won’t fall under the contract. I’ve already done that. And I do have a really great job at deception, which I’m pretty good at, if I do say so myself. Yeah. So what if linc owns some of my past? Well, shouldn’t own any part of you — past, present, or future.

[ Cellphone beeps ]

[ Scoffs ] Speak of the devil. Literally. That’s him? That’s linc? He sent me an e-mail.

[ Sighs ] The next time you find yourself agreeing with brad, don’T. Nina is my cousin. I want her to be able to see wiley. That said, I understand she caused you and your family a lot of pain. I also understand that simply saying, “oh, gosh, I feel bad about that, let’s all move on,” changes exactly nothing. Nina’s not gonna give up. In her mind, wiley is all she has. Well, that’s too damn bad. It’s not wiley’s job to fill the void in nina’s life. Okay, true, but what happens when wiley gets older and nina goes to him with her tale of woe? “I wanted to see you, but your mother and father wouldn’t let me.” Oh, come on. Wiley is smart. He’s not gonna fall for nina’s hysteria. Really? A rebellious teenager. You think he’s gonna be okay with the truth? Sometimes you have to make hard decisions to protect your kids.

[ Scoffs ] So that’s it? There’s no option b? There’s nothing else to — to fix this situation? Hey, hey. Just think about it for one second. If michael goes too far with nina and then it turns out that nina really is willow’s mother? I mean, you know willow. It’ll change things for her, whether she wants it to or not. I’m certainly not gonna say anything right now. I mean, can you imagine if nina turns out to be willow’s mother? That’s going to be a huge problem for michael and willow. And what if the whole thing turns out to not be true? I would have set a hideous chain of events in motion for no reason. Okay. What if it is true? What if the dna test proves that what harmony said is absolutely legit? What are you gonna do? There has to be some way for michael, willow, and nina to see things differently. I’m sorry. Are you really comparing nina to peter? Only from a legal perspective. But if peter had lived, he would have legal standing as bailey’s father, just like nina has legal standing as wiley’s grandmother, because of a biological relationship, but shared dna doesn’t always make a family. Look, willow is wiley’s mother, period. Like harmony was willow’s mother? Uh, nina?

[ Cellphone rings ] Excuse me. Hello? I believed my entire life that harmony was my mother. Knowing the truth now does not change my childhood memories. What about the people that your mother stole you from, willow? What about your biological parents?

[ Laughs ] Of course, I don’t want to lose michael and wiley, but michael… has already made it clear that that’s already happened. Okay. You said you hadn’t seen michael this angry since he got custody of avery. Mm-hmm. And you were convinced that you were gonna lose him then, right, and you didn’T. Mm-hmm. Underneath all that anger, michael loves you just as much as you love him. Think about that before you get on the stand on nina’s behalf.

And put a rush on it. Thanks.

Dr. Randolph, will you be able to figure out what’s wrong with elizabeth?

As a doctor, I can’t comment, but as her friend, I sure as hell hope so. There could be an emotional source to your sleepwalking, something in your subconscious that wants to get out.

It already got out. I set fire to franco’s art studio, I attacked chase, I could’ve stabbed cameron with those scissors.

No. We already talked about this. There’s no way you’d harm your children.

I don’t know what to believe anymore!

You assume that I was stolen, but what if I was given away? What if my biological parents didn’t want me or couldn’t keep me?

I have no idea what happened. And neither do you. You just wanted to wound me because I wasn’t saying what you wanted to hear. Michael: And when you don’t get your way, you go straight for the jugular. What a wonderful role model you’d make for wiley.

[ Chuckles ] Oh, you guys are great. You just push and you push and you push until I react, and then you stand back and you act all superior. Well, I got news for you. That gutter you pushed me into, you belong right there with me. Did we push you into letting my father’s family believe that he was dead? Tell me — tell me. How were we responsible for that? Oh, my god! How many times are you gonna say that? I said I am sorry! I regret that decision! But — but is this about wiley or about hurting me? It’s about protecting our son. Maxie: Sorry for interrupting. That was the nurse at james’ pre-k that called. Is he okay? Yeah, uh, I — I need to pick him up. He has a fever. Oh. The poor guy. I’m so sorry. Um, could you guys excuse us for a second? Nina, if you want to see your grandson again, stay away from michael and willow. You’re making it worse.

[ Stammers ] He sold one of my songs. I thought he was lying about shopping it around. But, I mean, that’s good, right? People will still be able to hear your music. There’s a link to the demo.

[ Dance music plays ]

Circles and in circles

don’t bring me around,

I wanna live

[ Scoffs ]

[ Music stops ] This isn’t my song. It’s a crime! I got to be honest, it didn’t really sound like something that you’d write. Those lyrics are my soul! He murdered them! Uh, I mean, as a — as a songwriter, you do have to get used to other people putting their spin on your words and your music. Yeah, that’s fine. That’s what singers do. They — they — they take your song and — and — and put their own interpretation on it while understanding the intention of the lyrics, not turning it into some trash! Sounds like you can’t give up. Sounds like you got to fight this guy. Damn straight I do. What are you up to? I need your help. This is why you thought it was better for your sons to believe you were dead?

[ Monitor beeping ] You really thought we cared about that? I can tell you right now… [Sighs] …I would have rather grown up with my father than without. Even if you were struggling, you shouldn’t have let your pride drive you away from your family. Alright. That’s not fair because I don’t know what you were going through when you made the decision to leave. I do know you wanted to protect tommy and me. Marshall, when you kept quiet, when you turned up in my life after 40 years, it was like… it was like you wanted me to distrust you, like you wanted me to think the worst of you when all you had to do was tell me the truth. Did I give you a reason to have so little faith in me? Was I too quick to anger? Was I unwilling to hear you out? But… you weren’t willing to talk. Maybe I wasn’t willing to hear, but it can’t end there. You have to wake up. You just have to.

[ Sighs ] Where’s carly? Relax. She’s done torturing you for the day. Where did you get the courage to confront her? Uh, I guess I learned a thing or two from aunt selina. I can’t tell if that’s a good or a bad thing. It sounds like she’s keeping you pretty busy. Aside from the late hours, how’s the job going? Surprisingly…okay. I kind of like the work, and my aunt’s a fair boss. And demanding.

[ Laughs ] Nothing I can’t handle. So, if I haven’t thanked you for encouraging me to take the job… thanks. Everything turned out pretty well in the end, huh? Where’s brook lynn? Hm. She tore out of here on a mission. And that mission is? Something you probably should hear from her. Then I’ll speak with her later. What about us, ned? Do we speak now or we speak later? How about not at all, if I’m not made the next ceo. You, michael, me, we — we gotta figure out something that’s gonna make you happy. You already know my answer to that. Alright, I need to get to the office, since I’m the only quartermaine who actually works at elq. Thanks for coming. Hey. What’s going on? Did linc show up again? Did he harass you? Not in person. What does that mean? It means I’m taking my life back, and you’re gonna help me. I never want to close my eyes again. Well, you’ll have to sleep sometime. And when I do, what happens? You gonna tie me to the bed, sedate me? May I just, um — now that elizabeth is — is aware of the sleepwalking, is there a chance that will deter it? Well, I can’t make any promises, but until we know the root cause, there’s always a chance it’ll happen again. Yeah. That’s what I think, too. So I’ve made a decision. I’m going to protect my family. I don’t care what issues you may have.

[ Monitor beeping ] I just want you back in my life. Please. Please, dad. Give me the chance to make it up to you. But I can only do that if you come back to us. Just open your eyes. Please. Please.

[ Mumbles ] Hey, no. Marshall, I’m here. It’s me. It’s curtis. It’s your son. Dad. It’s your son. It’s your son. For god’s sake, michael, I’m not going to hurt her. Just — just leave us alone. No, not until you hear me out. Willow, I think I went a little bit too far earlier. I’m really sorry that you lost your mom. Even though she had her faults, she was still your mom, and it’s still painful. Save your breath. The judge won’t be fooled by your fake remorse. Okay. Let me ask you this. Are you and michael so perfect you’ve never made a mistake? Hm. See, uh, nina, you — you’ve lied or misled us repeatedly. That is not a mistake. That is a pattern of behavior, one that we want to protect wiley from. Regardless on how it affects the rest of your family?!

Transcript provided by and proofread by Suzanne

Sonny: Don’t — don’t worry about that. Just do me a favor, will you?

Nina: Sonny, what are we doing here?

Sonny: What do you mean?

Carly: Mom, can you please stop glaring? Don’t give them the satisfaction.

Bobbie: Ugh, I hate the way Sonny is parading around with Nina. I mean, where is his sense of shame? He was actually holding her hand a minute ago.

Carly: Okay, if it doesn’t affect Donna, I don’t care.

Bobbie: Well, you know, you may be over it, but I’m not. I think it’s high time I gave them both a piece of my mind.

Finn: Hey, here’s your new place mat, here’s your crayons, and you can draw anything you want, okay? Listen, I have your new playlist right here. What do you think?

Violet: Daddy, I love this song.

Finn: Yeah? That’s great. I think she’s sufficiently distracted. I really don’t want to scare her.

Gregory: With talk of ghosts? Because Elizabeth thinks Franco is haunting her?

Finn: No. I think Violet was on to something. The only person present at every incident was Elizabeth.

Gregory: Yes, because someone is harassing her.

Finn: What if that someone is… Elizabeth herself?

Taggert: Well, I appreciate the invitation because I can certainly use the company.

Portia: So Trina’s Title IX report has got you worried, too, huh?

Taggert: Hell, yeah.

Portia: Do you think that it’s going to have any impact on Trina’s criminal trial?

Taggert: Well, there wouldn’t be a criminal trial in the first place if it wasn’t for our esteemed commissioner.

TJ: Look, you’ve already got our wallets and our phones. Isn’t that enough?

Thief: There must be something valuable in that case. Hand it over.

Marshall: Listen, just take it. Come on. Take it.

TJ: You’re not taking this.

Michael: Well, I hope you get this out of your system before you’re 16.

Wiley: Daddy, 16 is old.

Michael: Wow. Thanks, buddy.

Willow: [ Chuckles ]

Michael: Appreciate that. Hey, how you feeling?

Willow: Epiphany warned me that nursing school would be hard, but, wow, I am just exhausted.

Michael: Yeah, I’m glad you didn’t stick it out for Leo’s birthday party. I mean, you were missed, but there was plenty of people there to celebrate.

Willow: Did Leo have a good time?

Michael: He did, yeah. How are you? Were you able to get some some rest?

Willow: I tried to take a nap, but I just couldn’t fall sleep.

Wiley: Mommy, I could read you a bedtime story. That always makes me fall asleep.

Willow: Oh. You know what? How about Daddy and I read you a story since it’s way past your bedtime?

Michael: Actually, I was hoping to spend a little extra time with him tonight.

Willow: How about two bedtime stories and we all snuggle together? How does that sound?

Wiley: And a bedtime snack.

Willow: [ Laughs ]

Michael: Our son drives a hard bargain.

Willow: Deal.

Wiley: Yes!

Willow: [ Laughs ]

Carly: Please sit down. I told you, I don’t want to give them the satisfaction.

Bobbie: I am your mother, and I have the right to be indignant on your behalf.

Carly: I understand that, and I love you for it, but can we keep the indignation between us, please?

Bobbie: Okay, fine. But you better buckle up, ’cause I have something to say to you, and you’re not going to like it.

Sonny: We’re just two people trying to, you know, wipe out our troubles for a little while. Nothing wrong with that.

Nina: Definitely seems like Bobbie disagrees. And now that The Invader has reminded everyone, the whole world of my many transgressions, I’m sure there are plenty of people who have opinions about seeing us together.

Sonny: People can think all they want. They don’t — don’t know us. They don’t know what we’ve been through.

Nina: I don’t care about people. I care about you. But I can’t ignore the fact that I caused you a lot of trouble, Sonny, and it’s time that I do something about that.

Sonny: Like what?

Gregory: You think Elizabeth is stalking herself? That’s absurd.

Finn: I don’t know. It fits the facts. I mean, this person keeps getting to Elizabeth without leaving a trace — at her home, at the hospital, at her room at The Metro Court.

Gregory: There has to be another explanation.

Finn: I mean, of course, she would have access to her room at The Metro Court and her home and Franco’s art studio, which would explain how someone got in and out without getting caught. I mean, the only real hole in the theory is she wasn’t at home when the portrait was placed on the mantel. Then again, if I remember correctly, no one saw Elizabeth sleeping at G.H. that night. I mean… I mean, is it possible that she went home and placed the painting there herself?

Gregory: There’s an even bigger hole in your theory, and… [ Sighs ] You’ve told me so many times what a devoted and loving mom Elizabeth is to her three sons. Why would she torment herself, let alone her boys?

Cam: [ Sighs ] Mom?

Taggert: Jordan.

Jordan: Taggert. It’s good to see you… I think.

Taggert: What gives? The Jordan I knew was committed to justice being served.

Jordan: Hi, Portia.

Portia: Jordan.

Jordan: I can assure you my commitment to justice remains as strong as ever.

Taggert: Oh, yeah, really? Then why is my daughter still facing a trial when it’s obvious she’s being framed?

Jordan: You know I can’t comment on ongoing investigations.

Taggert: Oh, I am well aware of the evidence you have against Trina.

Jordan: You are?

Taggert:  I worked at the PCPD for a long time. I still got connections. What I don’t understand is why you are sitting on your hands, letting Trina take the fall instead of going and finding the real criminal.

[ Men grunting ]

Marshall: Ah! Ah!

TJ: Granddad!

Thief #1: You okay, man?

Thief #2: I’m fine. Hope that was worth dying for.

TJ: Marshall.

TJ: Grandpa, hey. Hey, it’s TJ. Can you hear me? Call 911.

Portia: Let’s give your former partner some credit. She knows who Trina is, just like we do.

Jordan: I’m still keeping my eye on Trina’s case, even though it’s now in the DA’s hands.

Taggert: Well, thank you for whatever you may or may not be doing.

Jordan: Then you may or may not be welcome.

Portia: Jordan, did you hear about the Title IX report that PCU released earlier today?

Jordan: I haven’t seen it yet, but I assume a copy went straight to the DA’s office.

Portia: Well, Trina received it, and she’s interpreting it as bad news. She’s concerned if she’s found responsible, she’s going to be expelled. Do you think that it makes it more likely for her to be found guilty in the criminal trial?

Carly: What am I not going to like?

Bobbie: You’re putting up a great front, but there’s no point in torturing yourself. Let’s leave.

Carly: No. I didn’t do anything wrong. I’m not going anywhere. Come on, would you have let Lucy Coe run you out of every club?

Bobbie: Honey, I’m not suggesting you leave a place every time you see Nina, but in this one instance, you don’t need the extra stress. You have nothing to prove.

Carly: You’re right. I don’t. I’m still not going anywhere.

Nina: So, the way I see it is you have been suffering the consequences of my bad choices. Sonny, you almost died saving me from a fire that Peter set. Then when you got your memory back, you came back to a family that moved on from you, a wife that married your best friend, and then your marriage ended, and now you have a feud with your son because of me. Me being here with you, it’s not a good idea. So, for once, I’m going to make it easy on you. Think about you and go.

Sonny: Okay, no, wait a minute. You can go if you want to go…

Nina: [ Sighs ]

Sonny: …But don’t do that on my account, because, for me… you being around… is not trouble.

Finn: You’re right, Dad. Elizabeth is an incredible mother.

Gregory: Then why would she create a situation where it didn’t feel safe to live with her kids?

Finn: She’s had trouble sleeping. Her doctor even gave her a prescription.

Gregory: Yeah, so?

Finn: People react differently. You know, sleep aids have made people do lots of things. Sleepwalking, for one. I mean, maybe that’s why she doesn’t remember any of these incidents. I have to go talk to Elizabeth. Can you look after Violet for a minute?

Gregory: Yeah, of course. But, Finn, I — I want you to be careful. If your theory is right and Elizabeth is responsible, whether consciously or unconsciously, that means she attacked Chase. Who knows what else she could be capable of?

Finn: Okay. Hey. Sweetheart, I’m so sorry. I, uh — I need to go take care of something.

Violet: But, Daddy, you didn’t have your dessert yet.

Finn: I know. Maybe you can bring me something to go. Okay? And I’m going to see you at home later.

Violet: Are you going to see Aunt Elizabeth?

Finn: Yes, I am.

Violet: Tell her I’m making her another drawing.

Finn: I will. I love you, sweetheart.

Violet: Bye.

Finn: Bye. Bye, Dad.

Cam: Yeah. Mom? It’s me. I’m home. Okay, Mom… you’re starting to freak me out a little bit. Are you okay? What are you — what are you doing?

Jordan: I have good news for Trina. The judge won’t even allow the Title IX report to be entered into evidence because it’s prejudicial.

Portia: Well, that’s good news.

Taggert: Nothing’s guaranteed.

Jordan: No, but you have to have faith.

Taggert: [Scoffs] Well, that’s in short supply these days.

Portia: You’ll have to forgive Taggert. He’s hurting right now. But he knows that you support Trina, and he’s very grateful. As am I. So do you want to join me? Have a seat? Have a drink? I mean, if you’re not on the clock.

Jordan: I am definitely off-duty.

Portia: Okay.

Jordan: I just came to blow off some steam.

Portia: By yourself? Wow.

Jordan: I know Curtis is out of town. I just don’t want any unsavory characters thinking they could take advantage.

Portia: Are you saying that Curtis’ business is being threatened?

Molly: My god. TJ, what happened? When you guys didn’t come to the club, I came looking for you, and I saw the lights.

TJ: We — we were… [ Breathes deeply ] We were cutting through an alley. Marshall said it was a back way to get into the club. And, all of a sudden, we were stopped by some muggers who had knives. And we gave them our phones, we gave them our wallets, and they got greedy. They wanted Marshall’s clarinet case.

Curtis: Wait. Wait, wait, wait. All of this because he didn’t want to let go of his clarinet case?

TJ: No, he did. It was — I know how important that clarinet is to him. So when I saw him handing over the case, I reached for it, and then we started struggling.

Curtis: Okay, T. Alright? You were brave. They’re taking him to New York Methodist.

TJ: Let’s go. Let’s go.

Finn: Cam, what’s going on?

Cameron: I don’t know. I-I came home a little while ago, and she was just cutting that paper, and she wouldn’t say anything. I don’t know what to do.

Finn: Hey. Elizabeth, it’s me. Can — can you hear me?

Cameron: What’s wrong with her? Why won’t she say anything?

Finn: It’s okay. Hey. Can you give me those scissors? Okay. No. No, no. It’s okay. I promise you no one’s going to hurt you, okay? No one’s going to hurt you. It’s okay.

Elizabeth: Finn?

Finn: Mm-hmm.

Elizabeth: What’s happening? Wait, I’m home? How did I get here?

Michael: Wiley went to sleep very early tonight.

Willow: I wonder why. Could it be that someone kept him up an hour past his bedtime, playing trucks?

Michael: Yeah, I know, I know. It’s best to get him on a regular routine. It’s just, I don’t know, we were having so much fun. It was… I felt bad calling it a night, because…

Willow: What if that all changes tomorrow? I am really stressed about the hearing. What reasonable grandmother wouldn’t want contact with her grandchild? And Nina is really good at convincing people that she’s reasonable.

Michael: You know, worrying ourselves into the ground isn’t going to do Wiley any good. Diane has repeatedly told me that we have a strong case.

Willow: But a strong case is not a slam dunk. What if you’re both wrong and Nina wins?

Sonny: Taggert, enjoying your night?

Taggert: Not even a little.

Sonny: I know what’s going on with Trina.

Taggert: My daughter had nothing to do with what happened with your stepdaughter.

Sonny: I know that.

Taggert: You do?

Sonny: Yeah. I mean, Joss just spends a lot of time with Trina, and I know that your daughter is a great person. She would never do what she’s being accused of.

Bobbie: If I want to have a conversation with you, should I start sending you texts?

Carly: Aw, sorry. I’m sorry. I’m just really distracted right now.

Bobbie: Okay, well, is this about those test results from G.H.? ‘Cause I thought you were going to forget about that till tomorrow morning.

Carly: Yeah.

Sonny: What — what are you — test results? Are you sick?

Carly: It’s nothing.

Sonny: Test results from G.H.? What are you…? Are you sick? What’s going on?

Bobbie: I think you two could use a minute, so I’ll be back.

Carly: Mom.

Sonny: Alright, does this have anything to do with when you were attacked by Harmony?

Carly: I appreciate your concern, but my life has nothing to do with you anymore.

Sonny: Yeah, but you’re Donna’s mother, so —

Carly: And if this affected her, I would tell you.

Sonny: Okay, you can’t brush this off that easy, ’cause I know when you’re hiding something.

Bobbie: Hey, Nina. Enjoying your evening?

Nina: Considering that the visitation hearing is tomorrow, Bobbie, it’s probably best if we don’t speak tonight.

Bobbie: If you listen to what I have to say, there won’t be a hearing tomorrow.

Willow: What if we are forced to let Nina see Wiley? She’s so — she’s so needy. She wants Wiley to love her. She wants him to console her over the loss of Nelle. It’s not really about Wiley at all. And I’m afraid of the lesson he might take from that, that his needs don’t matter. I know, as Wiley he grows up, he’ll have to handle challenges and deal with people who are out for themselves, but I want him to know that his family is always a place where he can feel loved and protected.

Michael: He will. We will block Nina’s petition, I promise.

Willow: When I found out about Harmony’s lies, it made me stop and reassess what family means. You and Wiley matter more to me than anything. I will always fight for you.

Michael: And I will be right by your side. No matter what Nina throws at us tomorrow, in the future, we are going to hit her back twice as hard.

Willow: Is it messed up that hearing you say that makes me love you even more?

Michael: No, no, no, not at all. Hearing how protective you are and wanting to keep our family safe, that makes me love you even more.

Willow: Seems we’re a perfect match.

Michael: 1,000%.

Jordan: I don’t think Curtis is in any trouble. I’m just being overly cautious.

Portia: I know you still care about Curtis.

Jordan: Oh, no, no, it’s not like that.

Portia: No, no, no, I didn’t mean it in that way. I just meant that you’re always going to be family to Curtis, and I respect that. I’m glad you have his back.

Jordan: Have you heard from him?

Portia: Well, he texted me when he got to Brooklyn, but I haven’t heard anything since.

Jordan: Yeah, I haven’t had any updates from TJ, either. I wonder if they found Marshall yet.

Portia: I just hope when they do, they are able to heal the wounds between Curtis and his dad.

TJ: This is on me, okay? I don’t know what I was thinking, grabbing for that case.

Molly: No, honey, you were being mugged. You were acting on instinct because you know how important that clarinet is to Marshall.

Curtis: TJ, you were incredibly brave. You were protecting his most prized possession. Trust me, you did right by Marshall. Doc, is my father okay?

Doctor: He lost a lot of blood, but he’s stable now. We’re going to take him for a CT scan and an MRI to rule out a traumatic brain injury. Before we do, is there anything about Marshall’s medical history that we should know? Any medications or any allergies?

Curtis: Um, I know that he was taking blood-pressure medication. I’m not sure which one or how much dosage.

TJ: Yeah, I don’t — I don’t know, either.

Curtis: Marshall just recently came back into our family, so we don’t know much about his medical history.

Doctor: Thanks.

TJ: There’s still so many things we don’t know about Marshall. I thought now that we found him, we would… we still have a chance, but what if he doesn’t wake up?

Curtis: TJ.

TJ: What?

Curtis: TJ, I know you’re a doctor, and your first impulse is to think worst-case scenario, but please do not allow yourself to go there, okay? We came all this way to find Marshall. We can’t just give up on him.

Violet: Did daddy leave because Aunt Elizabeth is in trouble?

Gregory: Your Aunt Elizabeth is going to be okay, and she wouldn’t want you to worry about her, and neither would your daddy, okay?

Violet: Okay.

Gregory: Okay. Are you going to show me your new drawing? Oh, that is beautiful.

Violet: It’s you, and me, and Aunt Elizabeth, and Daddy, and Uncle Chase at a tea party.

Gregory: [ Chuckles ]

Violet: Maybe Aunt Elizabeth will feel better if we throw her a tea party. That always makes me feel better.

Gregory: Eh, sometimes grown-up problems are a little more complicated than that.

Violet: I wish I never have grown-up problems.

Gregory: [ Chuckles ] Trust me, sweetheart, if I could keep you this age, I would.

Violet: Can I ask you something, Grandpa?

Gregory: Yeah. Anything.

Violet: Are you going to finish that brownie?

Finn: Hey, what’s the last thing you remember?

Elizabeth: I was lying down at Laura’s. Did Kevin and Laura bring me here?

Finn: Called over to Laura’s ’cause I wanted to come back and talk to you. I wanted to apologize to you, and, uh, Laura told me you had snuck out, so I came looking for you here first.

Elizabeth: I don’t remember any of that. Did — did you pick me up and drive me here?

Cam: No. I-I-I’ve been crashing at Ian’s dorm. I-I-I came back here to get my laptop, and I-I found you sitting here. I tried talking to you, but you kept on ignoring me like you were in a trance.

Elizabeth: What was I doing?

Cam: You were cutting up that — that picture.

Elizabeth: Violet gave this to me. Why would I destroy it? Why don’t I remember any of this?

Finn: Would you like to go back to Laura and Kevin’s, and we can talk about this in the morning?

Elizabeth: Finn… I don’t know why I came here or what I was doing. If you know what’s going on, you need to tell me.

Cam: Yeah, I agree with my mom. If you have any idea of what’s happening right now, we need to hear it.

Finn: I think that maybe the… person we’ve been looking for, the person responsible for intruding on your life… is you.

Cam: I’m sorry. You’re saying that my mom has been harassing my family? That’s just — that’s just not possible. She wouldn’t do that.

Finn: Cam, please. I’m sorry. I know how upsetting this is. I do. What you have to understand is, your mom, she wasn’t conscious of any of the things she was doing, alright? I think it was — it was a form of sleepwalking. It’s the only thing that explains how someone kept getting in and out without leaving any evidence. Your mom was present for almost every intrusion.

Elizabeth: No, no, no. It’s impossible. There’s no way I would just forget doing all of those things.

Finn: Just tonight, sweetheart, you lost track of time. You don’t remember leaving Laura’s. You don’t remember coming here. You don’t remember cutting up Violet’s drawing. And when Cam and I found you here, you wouldn’t respond to either one of us. Would you agree, Cam?

Cam: Yes, but — yes. I kept on trying to talk to you, but you ignored me like I wasn’t even there.

Finn: Let me ask you something. If Cam and I hadn’t found you and you’d come out of it on your own, what would you have thought had happened?

Elizabeth: I don’t know. I don’t know. If what you’re saying is true, then I’m the one who stashed my ring? I’m the one who slashed my dress that I wore when I married Franco? I put the portrait he did of me up here? How would I even get it? Did I set fire to Franco’s studio? Am I the one who hit Chase over the head? What’s happening to me?

Finn: It’s okay. It’s okay. [ Sighs ] It’s going to be okay.

TJ: I want to update my mom, but I don’t want to worry her until we have definitive answers.

Curtis: Um, TJ, did you and Marshall get to talk much before the mugging?

TJ: Yeah, he seemed reluctant to come back to Port Charles. He also said that he did you and my dad a favor when he left all those years ago.

Curtis: Yeah, well, he wasn’t the only one.

TJ: Wait, Uncle, you agree with him?

Curtis: Not me. My mom.

Molly: Curtis, how do you know that?

Curtis: Aunt Stella told me that she knew all along that Marshall was alive.

TJ: No way.

Curtis: According to Aunt Stella, it was Marshall’s idea to disappear from us after he was arrested. And the strange thing is, Mom agreed with it.

TJ: That doesn’t make any sense. Why?

Curtis: Aunt Stella said that that has to come from Marshall. Believe me, T, I had all the same questions and then some. Now we just got to hope that Marshall will tell us what he’s been hiding.

Nurse: Are you Marshall Ashford’s family?

Curtis: Yes. Is my father okay?

Taggert: Hey, I’m, uh, going to take off.

Portia: Oh, okay, Marcus. Um… we’re going to help Trina through this, no matter what comes her way.

Jordan: Taggert, Trina’s a fantastic young woman. I do not want to see her hurt. So are we good?

Taggert: You and me, we go way back, so — and you’ve certainly proved yourself to be true to my family. So whatever it is you’re doing, I trust you.

Jordan: I know Trina’s in a difficult situation, but she sure does have an amazing support system around her. Joss and Cam stood by her. And then, of course, there’s you, and Curtis and Taggert.

Portia: Taggert has always been such a devoted father.

Portia: I need to tell Trina the truth. The truth about her father.

Portia: Jordan? Something on your mind?

Jordan: You. And the things you said that day we were almost killed.

Carly: Whatever I’m doing, whatever tests I had run, you lost the right to know about it.

Sonny: Well, just because we’re divorced didn’t change the fact that we were partners for years, and if you’re sick or hurt, I want to know about it. Not just because of the kids, but because I care about you. I sent you a voicemail after you got attacked by Harmony. Did you get that?

Carly: I did. I’m sorry I didn’t respond.

Sonny: No, I know things are different, but, um, you know, I’ll always be here for you. You know that.

Carly: I’m not sick. I’m not hurt.

Sonny: Well, what’s this G.H. test results? Why is it so important?

Bobbie: Call off your petition before it blows up in your face.

Nina: I’m not discussing this with you, Bobbie. We’re going before a judge tomorrow.

Bobbie: Wait a minute. Do you — do you really think those articles in The Invader are going to be the end of it? Michael will keep coming for you.

Nina: Let him. Can’t say anything worse than he has already.

Bobbie: You know, I was the first one to see through Nelle. Did you know that? I pegged her as a gold-digging psycho the first time my daughter let her through the door. And now I see where she got it. Now, it’s true. You’re more polished than Nelle, but you’re just as entitled and just greedy about helping yourself to things that don’t belong to you — other people’s husbands, other people’s children.

Nina: You’re hardly Mother Teresa yourself, Bobbie. I know all about your messy, sordid past, all the way back to when you manipulated Laura and Scott ’cause you wanted Scott for yourself. And let’s not forget about all the people you lied to. Oh, and this little nugget — all the husbands that you cheated on.

Bobbie: I haven’t wrecked any homes lately, unlike you, who helped yourself to Sonny. Not that you care what it did to Carly. But what about Avery and Donna? You don’t care about two little girls who lost their family. Oh, no, no. You’d rather walk around and wring your hands over Nelle and make excuses for her laundry list of crimes.

Nina: Yeah, I was robbed of the chance to help my daughter, to help Nelle. But you got a second chance with your daughter, didn’t you? Still, Carly turned out to be every bit as twisted as her prostitute mother. Oh, you didn’t think I knew about that part of your shady past? Yeah, fortunately for me, Scott likes to talk.

Bobbie: If I were younger, I’d toss a pitcher of margaritas all over you.

Nina: Oh, but now you’re older and wiser.

Bobbie: Young at heart. Only a bit wiser.

Nina: [ Gasps ]

Jordan: Memory’s a funny thing, isn’t it? I hadn’t thought about our near-death experience in ages, but then, all of a sudden, I’m hearing your voice talking about telling Trina the truth about her father.

Portia: Well, personally, I like to keep close encounters with death locked deep in my psyche. [ Chuckles ] But thank you for the reminder.

Jordan: I’ll keep my mouth shut next time. Though, I have to wonder, did you ever tell Trina whatever you thought she should know about Taggert?

Portia: I just know that I was deprived of oxygen, as were you, and I clearly wasn’t thinking straight. And, of course, any conversation that I would have with Trina about her father, he would be included.

Jordan: That makes sense. Just don’t keep it inside forever. We only need to look at Marshall to see how secrets within families can fester.

Portia: I still think there’s time for Curtis and Marshall to make things right.

Jordan: If they give themselves that chance.

Portia: Curtis will. He always does what’s right by his family.

Nurse: We’re bringing Mr. Ashford back from his tests. These are his effects.

Curtis: I’ll take these. Is it possible for us to go see Marshall?

Nurse: He can only have one visitor at a time.

TJ: You go, Uncle Curtis.

Curtis: Thanks, T.

TJ: Marshall’s clarinet. Oh, no, it must still be in the alley. I have to go back to get it.

Molly: No. Hey, no, you don’t. Look. I, um — I scooped these up, even though some of the pieces have been damaged a little bit.

TJ: Now we just need Marshall to wake up.

[ Monitor beeping ]

Curtis: [ Sighs ] [ Sighs ]

Violet: Will you keep this safe for me?

Gregory: I’ll guard it with my life.

Violet: If it makes you feel better, you can hold my hand.

Elizabeth: Why am I doing these horrible things? What’s wrong with me?

Finn: I don’t know. But I promise you, we’re going to find out.

Willow: You’re really not worried about Nina’s visitation hearing tomorrow?

Michael: I mean, of course I am. [ Sighs ] Just knowing that we have each other, we’ll find a way to make everything okay.

Willow: I love you.

Michael: And I love you.

Nina: You’re going to pay for this, Bobbie. And I’ll tell you when — you’re going to pay tomorrow, when I get legal visitation rights with Wiley.

Sonny: Okay, hey, hey, hey, hey hey, hey.

Carly: Come on, Mom. Back off. Back off.

Sonny: Come here. Come here.

Carly: Let’s go, Mom.

Sonny: Okay. That’s enough.

Nina: [ Sighs ] Thank you.

Sonny: What happened?

Nina: Well, let’s just say it was a painful reminder of how important it is that I am granted legal visitation rights with Wiley.

Carly: Are you okay?

Bobbie: Oh, yeah. You know, I knew I should be the bigger person, but I just couldn’t stop myself.

Carly: [ Chuckles ] Way to go, Mom.

Bobbie: [ Chuckles ] Oh, I’m surprised you’re not mad at me.

Carly: Are you kidding? I loved it. That is the least of what Nina deserves.

Bobbie: I hope you give her hell tomorrow at the hearing.

Carly: I intend to.

On the next “General Hospital” —

TJ (to Curtis): I found something I wasn’t expecting.

Brook Lynn: I don’t see a way out of this.

Finn (to Chase): I think I know who’s been harassing Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: Am I losing my mind?

Britt:  There’s nothing else to fix this situation.

Nina (to Maxie): I have a few punches I can throw myself.

Dante (to Sonny): Think about that before you get on the stand on Nina’s behalf.

Carly arrived at the hospital and asked if the results of her DNA test were ready yet, but she was told that they weren’t. A concerned Bobbie approached and wondered what test results Carly was waiting on. Carly assured her mother that the results could wait, the test wasn’t that important. Bobbie and Carly talked about the hearing that was scheduled for the next day, and Carly hoped for justice. Bobbie wondered what Carly would do if the judge ruled in favor of Nina. Carly vowed to do whatever she needed to do to protect her family. She told Bobbie that she didn’t want to talk about it anymore, and she suggested that they  focus on something else. She took Bobbie’s hand, and they left.

Stella entered a conference room at the hospital and found Portia and Epiphany. The medical professionals were glad to see that Stella seemed herself again after her panic attack. Stella assumed that Curtis had told Portia about her part in Marshall’s 40-year absence, and Portia assured Stella that Curtis understood that Stella had needed to keep the secret. Portia made a comment to Epiphany about being a doctor soon, and Stella was delighted to hear that Epiphany was going to medical school. Portia realized that, since they were off the clock, they should be out enjoying themselves. She suggested that they go to the Savoy and drink for free.

Nina sat down at the Savoy and ordered a martini from the bartender in order to take her mind off of the hearing the next day. A man approached Nina and recognized her as the “mafia home-wrecker,” and she threatened to have a bouncer kick the man out. Sonny arrived and asked if there was a problem. The suddenly terrified man apologized to Nina, put his drink down, and ran out. She thanked Sonny for defending her honor, but she insisted that she could take care of herself.

Nina and Sonny began to talk about Michael, and Sonny thought that things wouldn’t be all right between him and his son for a long time. He told Nina that he refused to let Michael tear down everything he’d spent his life building. Just then, Epiphany, Portia, and Stella arrived and greeted Sonny, and he introduced Nina. Nina advised the women not to believe everything they’d read about her. The women wished Sonny and Nina a good evening and then headed to their waiting table.

Nina wondered what Sonny was going to do about Michael. Sonny revealed that Michael wanting nothing to do with him left him free to support Nina at the hearing. Just then, Carly and Bobbie arrived and glared when they spotted Sonny and Nina.

In Brooklyn, Marshall entered the bar T.J. and Molly were in, and they were thrilled to see him. T.J. wanted to let Curtis know that he’d found Marshall, but Marshall told him not to. Molly sensed that the two needed some time one on one, so she went ahead to the jazz club. When she was gone, Marshall divulged that there had been too much damage done for him to go home and that everyone was better off without him. T.J. shot back that Marshall had never stuck around long enough to find out.

Marshall thought that T.J.’s father would be proud of him at that moment. Without deciding anything, Marshall figured that they shouldn’t keep Molly waiting, and they left the bar. Outside, Marshall took them down an alley that led to the stage door. Just then, two men approached and demanded that Marshall and T.J. place their wallets and phones on the ground. The two complied. One of the men spotted the clarinet case and wanted that, too, but T.J. refused. One of the men took out a knife and growled, “Don’t make me ask again.”

Finn arrived at Laura’s to check on Elizabeth, and Laura mentioned that Elizabeth hadn’t talked any more about ghosts. Kevin entered the room to join the conversation as Elizabeth descended the stairs. She accused them of thinking that she was losing her mind, but Finn insisted that no one thought she was crazy. Just then, glass shattered, and they turned and saw a broken flower vase on the floor. Kevin explained that it had been an accident waiting to happen on the bookshelf, but Elizabeth thought it was Franco again.

Finn insisted that he was always on Elizabeth’s side. If he really was, Elizabeth challenged him to join her the next time she met with Chelsea. Kevin and Laura wanted to give the two privacy to talk, but Elizabeth said that if anyone should leave, it was Finn. He tried to convince her that she was playing right into the culprit’s hands, but she didn’t want to hear it, so he left. She called Chelsea but got her voicemail. Laura suggested that everyone would feel better after a good night’s sleep, so Elizabeth went upstairs.

As Kevin and Laura cleaned up the broken vase a few minutes later, they wished that they could help Elizabeth. Laura asked Kevin to lock up for her while she checked on Elizabeth. She went upstairs, and Kevin went to the door, only to find it ajar. Laura returned downstairs and revealed that Elizabeth was gone. A few minutes later, Kevin told Laura that the security guard hadn’t seen Elizabeth at the entrance, so she could have used the service entrance in the basement. Laura wondered where Elizabeth would go at that time of night.

At Kelly’s, Violet was drawing a picture as Gregory talked to her about youth. She showed him the picture of Gregory and Chase, and she explained that it went with another one of Finn, Elizabeth, her boys, and Violet. Violet observed that Finn was late meeting them again, and Gregory figured Finn had encountered an emergency at the hospital.

A clearly upset Finn arrived and revealed that he was late because he’d gone to visit Elizabeth. As Violet ordered a hot fudge sundae, Finn muttered to Gregory that he was losing Elizabeth. A few minutes later, Violet ate her ice cream with her headphones on. Finn told Gregory about the medium and how he couldn’t get through to Elizabeth. He conceded that there had never been evidence of anyone being there when anything had happened, but Violet took her headphones off and reminded Finn that Elizabeth had always been there.

Elizabeth arrived at home. She saw the picture Violet had drawn of the family. She picked it up and ripped Finn and Violet out of the picture.

At the Port Charles Elementary school fair, Leo read his poem to rave reviews after focusing his eyes solely on Chase. Chase made a deal with Leo that if he performed his poem that Chase would sing later at his birthday party. Which Chase did, keeping up his end of the bargain. But it wasn’t all fun and happiness as Michael continued his refusal to speak to Sonny.  Willow tried to speak cordially to Sonny and did her best to keep the peace.

Felicia and Anna had lunch at the Metro Court Gardens where Anna told her friend how Valentin had come to her house, kissed her, and then ghosted her. Just then, Valentin happened by and when Anna took a phone call, Felicia gave him the third degree and warned him not to hurt Anna.

Anna later returned to the table and said the WSB now believes that Jennifer killed Luke. The three of them agreed that there was no way Jennifer could pull off a well-coordinated hit like that on her own.  They agreed the entire situation reeked of Victor Cassadine. That made Felicia and Anna think of the mysterious French captain (who in reality is Valentin). When Valentin soon suggested he and Anna share the wine he brought over weeks ago, Anna said she and Felicia had already finished the wine. Anna said, “I told you it wouldn’t wait.”

Back at the fair, Drew and Michael offered Ned the Chief Operations Officer position at ELQ, but he said he had to think about it.  Ned then took a phone call from Valentin and they had a secret meeting on site to discuss the merger.  Valentin told Ned that when Michael and Drew had control of ELQ they would cut him out of any and all major strategy decisions.  He urged Ned to join forces with him to preserve his place in the company.

Update written by Dustin

At the Metro Court spa, Carly took Josslyn for a mother-daughter outing. Josslyn was dismayed that Nina had chosen to go the legal route with regard to Wiley, and she scoffed at Nina’s claim to visitation rights. Carly recalled how often she had wiped tears away from Avery and Donna’s faces when they’d believed that Sonny had been dead.

Carly said that Nina had kept Sonny to herself for nine months while the rest of his family had been collateral damage. “What kind of mother would I be if I didn’t insist that Nina suffer the consequences for what she did to our family?” Carly asked.

Josslyn said that Carly was justified in trying to shield Wiley from Nina, no matter how far Carly had to go.

At the hospital, T.J. told Jordan that he wanted to file a missing persons report with regard to Marshall. Jordan told T.J. that it was possible Marshall didn’t want to be found and that Marshall wasn’t considered missing because he’d left Port Charles of his own free will. T.J. brought Jordan the musical instrument that Marshall had sent and discovered a receipt from a music shop in Brooklyn. Jordan encouraged T.J. to reach out to the store owner to see if he might know where Marshall was. T.J. said that he’d secured some time off from work, and he announced that he’d head to Brooklyn to find Marshall. Jordan told T.J. to follow his heart, and she promised to help square any concerns that Curtis might have about T.J. reuniting with Marshall.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Ned told Olivia that he’d meet her and Leo at the elementary school fair for Leo’s poem after he tended to some business with ELQ. Brook Lynn gave Leo a warm hug, and a displeased Olivia told Ned that he should concentrate on the things he had and be grateful for them.

After Olivia left with Leo, Brook Lynn asked Ned to take Olivia’s advice and to be grateful. Brook Lynn asked why merging ELQ with Aurora was a bad thing, and Ned asserted that Michael and Drew had already spoken to Brook Lynn and gotten her on their side. Brook Lynn admitted that she’d spoken to Michael, but she wasn’t on anyone’s side except the family’s. Brook Lynn surmised that getting rid of Valentin made the merger worth it. Ned worried that Michael and Drew were planning a future that didn’t include him, but Brook Lynn urged Ned not to do something he would regret. Brook Lynn told Ned that the day was all about Leo, and she encouraged Ned to not let business get in the way. Ned agreed and left with Brook Lynn.

At Kelly’s Diner, Valentin knew the Quartermaines were trying to oust him as CEO and wanted to know what Martin planned to do about it. Martin said that Valentin’s month-long absence from town had given the Quartermaines time to plot Valentin’s exodus, and Martin added that Valentin wouldn’t have a chance if the family stayed a united front. Valentin said that a united front had never been able to hold up a united front for long.

Valentin admitted that he needed to find a way to bring a member of the Quartermaines over to his side. Martin scoffed at the idea that a Quartermaine would ever side with Valentin, but Valentin asked Martin who would benefit the most. Valentin guessed that the answer to his question was Ned.

At the elementary school fair, Sonny and Drew arrived for their daughters’ talent activities and greeted one another. Sonny and Drew spoke of Sonny’s icy relationship with Michael, and Sonny told Drew that Michael felt embarrassed by what the Corinthos name stood for. Sonny expressed his regret that things had deteriorated between him and Michael. “By the time Wiley is old enough to ask questions about his grandfather, I’m going to be a distant memory,” Sonny said.

Drew said that he hated to see bad blood between Sonny and Michael, and he asked if there was anything he could do to help things. Sonny asked how Drew thought he could help, and Drew offered to get Sonny and Michael together and serve as a mediator without taking sides. Sonny said that Michael was building walls around his family to keep Sonny out, and Michael wouldn’t listen to reason. Drew told Sonny that walls didn’t last forever and that things could change.

Drew confided to Sonny that he and Michael were working on a merger with ELQ, and he said that he could perhaps broker peace. Sonny wanted to know if Valentin was likely to retaliate against Michael. Drew assured Sonny that Drew and Michael could handle themselves, but Sonny said he wouldn’t allow Michael to go up against someone like Valentin without backup. “I want in,” Sonny said.

Drew told Sonny that as much as their friendship meant to him, his answer was no. Sonny said that Michael was lucky to have Drew on his side, but he added that if Michael let a family disagreement escalate to something more, he would need all the luck he could get.

At the gatehouse at the Quartermaine mansion, Dante told Willow that the lab results had confirmed that Harmony wasn’t Willow’s biological mother. Sam came to lend emotional support to Willow and invited Willow to join her at the elementary school fair to take Willow’s mind off Harmony.

After Sam and Willow left, Michael asked Dante why he’d really come to the mansion, and he surmised that it hadn’t just been to see Willow. Dante said that Michael and Sonny needed to get in a room and hash out their differences. Michael said that Sonny had abandoned his family, but Dante didn’t believe that. Dante said that no one was perfect. Dante later accused Michael of behaving just like Sonny, and Michael exploded on Dante and said he was nothing like Sonny. Dante asked why Michael couldn’t leave their dad out of things.

“It’s not enough that I have to rise to the top, Sonny has to fall. I’m going to take everything from him. Every shred of legitimacy that he has. And the next time the PCPD comes calling, he’s not going to have anywhere to hide,” Michael told Dante about Sonny.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Ned asked Drew to call off the plan to merge ELQ and Aurora. Drew tried to explain that it was in the companies’ best interests to merge because it would dilute Valentin’s shares. But, Ned still felt he could be left out in the cold if the merger went through.

Alone with Michael, Ned said that he’d sacrificed a lot for ELQ and admitted he felt he was about to be “put out to pasture.” Michael assured Ned that no one was trying to drive him out. Michael promised that he would be active in discussions about how to move forward. Michael asked Ned to not worry so much. “Anything for the family,” Ned said.

At the gatehouse of the Quartermaine mansion, Willow reeled from the shock that Harmony was dead and had never been Willow’s birth mother. Alexis stopped by to visit Willow and said that Harmony had approached her for help in getting Willow a fake birth certificate. Alexis said she felt bad for keeping the truth about Harmony from Willow, but she said that it wasn’t her place to tell a friend’s secret. Alexis recalled that Harmony had told her that a woman on a commune in Colorado named Joan had given birth to Willow and then disappeared. Willow asked if Alexis thought that any of Harmony’s story had been true.

Alexis recalled that the more time had passed, the more Harmony’s story hadn’t added up. Alexis told Willow that she’d encouraged Harmony to tell the truth several times. Alexis added that Harmony’s relationship with Willow had to have meant the world to Harmony if she’d been willing to kill to keep Willow’s identity a secret. Willow then mentioned her father and wondered if he’d known of Harmony’s lies.

At Charlie’s Pub, Carly asked how it was that Nina always managed to consider herself the victim in every situation that Nina caused. Nina tried to tell Carly that they both wanted peace, and she asked Carly to sit with her.

Nina asked how Willow was doing and asked Carly to send Nina’s condolences to Willow. Carly refused and called Nina out for only pretending to care about Willow. Nina asked if Michael and Willow had told Wiley that Harmony had died. Nina said that Wiley shouldn’t feel abandoned. Carly told Nina that Wiley was too young to process that type of information. Carly accused Nina of not putting Wiley first.

Nina claimed she loved Wiley and deserved to be in his life, and just then, Phyllis walked in the door. Nina excused herself, and Phyllis invited Carly to join her at the bar. Carly said she’d wanted to see how Phyllis had been since the robbery. Phyllis said that Carly was always welcome at Charlie’s. The two mentioned Nina, and Phyllis said that it was hard not to care about someone who’d been helpless and in a coma as Nina had been many years before.

Phyllis revealed that she hadn’t been with Nina at the time Nina had given birth and that Madeline Reeves had later given the baby to Phyllis to deliver to the child’s adoptive parents. Carly asked if Phyllis knew if anyone had been present when Nelle had been born. Phyllis wondered why Carly would ask, and Carly claimed that Nelle had been on her mind lately.

Nina returned to the main room at Charlie’s and thanked Phyllis for being a friend. As she did, Nina put a glass of wine that she’d been sipping on a table as Carly stared at the glass. When Nina left, Carly got up and put a napkin around the glass to slip into her purse. Carly looked up and was startled by Drew.

At Kelly’s Diner, Josslyn yelled for Esme to leave. When Cameron refused to take sides, Trina and Josslyn accused Esme of manipulation and both said that Cameron’s refusal to take sides was as bad as taking Esme’s side. Esme left but made a point to compliment Cameron on being a gentleman and for having a heart.

Josslyn told Cameron that she’d seen the way Esme had touched Cameron before she’d left and that it had been Esme’s way of saying to Josslyn that Cameron didn’t mind Esme touching him. Cameron didn’t see it that way and insisted that in time, Trina would understand Cameron’s actions. Cameron told Josslyn that he had to get back to work, and he gave Josslyn a hug.

At the Jerome art gallery, Trina told Ava that she needed Ava’s help. Trina said she needed to prove that Esme was responsible for the sex tape and to make Esme pay for it. Trina surmised that Esme was a true schemer, just like Ava, and added that Ava was the only person Trina knew that could “out-scheme” Esme. Ava was flattered by Trina’s faith in her.

Ava told Trina that Spencer knew Trina to be a wonderful person, and Ava asked Trina to take advantage of Spencer’s feelings. Ava suggested that Trina set a trap and goad Esme into making a mistake. Ava thought that if Trina put on the right act around Spencer, it would drive Esme crazy. Ava said that if Trina stuck to the plan, Esme would lash out just enough to incriminate herself. Trina then confessed there was something that could help her. “Something I’ve been keeping to myself. But before I tell you what it is, this is a last resort,” Trina said.

At Wyndemere, Spencer went through an old box of Esme’s and found a prescription bottle. Spencer discovered the bottle contained pills but had no label. Spencer slipped the bottle into his shirt pocket to take for testing and wondered what else Esme had hidden. Spencer continued to look through the box of Esme’s things when he found Maggie’s letter to Esme. Spencer read the letter as Esme sneaked into the room and watched Spencer from behind the door.

Esme yelled at Spencer for having gone through her personal things. Spencer confessed that he’d read the letter Maggie had written Esme, and he wanted to know why there was an entire box full of letters from Maggie when Esme claimed to have thrown them away. Esme wanted to know why Spencer had gone through her private things. “When you found that box, exactly what did you think you’d find?” Esme asked.

Spencer claimed he didn’t know what he’d been looking for, but he wanted to know Esme more. Esme said that if she and Spencer were going to get back to being the couple they’d once been, they both needed to be completely transparent with each other. Spencer readily agreed.

“Why don’t we start with this? Why did Maggie write, ‘No good can come from you having contact with your father’?” Spencer asked Esme.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

excuse me. Hi. We spoke earlier. Yes, I remember. Okay. Are there any updates? Have the dna test results came back? I’m sorry. Your test results aren’t ready yet. How long does it take? Carly. Hey. Hey. What tests are you waiting for? Hey, n’neka. Hey. If you’re looking for the boss, he’s not here tonight. Yeah. Curtis told me that he was gone to go look for his dad. However, given the challenging day I have ahead of me tomorrow, I was thinking about one of your signature martinis. You got it. And if you can throw a little forgetfulness on the side, that would be great. I know you. “Mafia home-wrecker.” Does that make you the new mob boss lady? Keep talking, buddy. I can have the bouncer here in five seconds. Sonny: Hey, buddy. You got a problem with the lady? ‘Cause if you got a problem with the lady, you got a problem with me. Is it okay if a former colleague pops in to say hello? Stella, come on in.

[ Chuckles ] I think I will. It’s good to see you, epiphany. Likewise. And I’m glad to see that you are not showing any ill effects from your recent panic attack.

[ Sighs ] What do you think, dr. Robinson? Should I be going to church twice a week to thank god? Well, I don’t think that’s necessary. I mean, unless you got a thing for the preacher.

[ Laughter ] But as far as your panic attack, you certainly seem like yourself again. I’m glad to hear that, since it’s not like I can wish my troubles away. But then, I’m sure curtis told you what was going on. Yeah. Yeah, he told me everything. Really? Everything? Tj: Granddad? How’d you know we were here? Old man purdee at the music shop. He told me I could find you two here. It is so good to see you, mr. Ashford. Tj and I came all this way just to find you. Yeah. Yeah. So I see. Wait, are you — are you sorry we’re here? Did we come all this way for nothing? Gregory: You take after your dad, sweetheart. When finn was a boy, he always had his nose in some book. You’re funny, grandpa. Everyone knows you can’t draw with your nose.

[ Chuckles ] You’re so much smarter than I am. The wisdom of youth. What’s “youth,” grandpa? It’s everything you are, sweetheart. And everything old guys like me long to be. Oh, finn, hi. Come in. Hi. Thank you. I won’t stay long. I promise. I’m meeting violet and my dad. I just — I want to stop by and make sure elizabeth’s okay. She’s still up in her room, hopefully sleeping. Okay. H-has — has she said anything more about… ghosts? Uh-huh. No, not at all. Good. That’s — that’s good. Yeah. Finn, hi. Hey. I, uh, wouldn’t assume that elizabeth is any less convinced franco’s spirit spoke to her. Through that phony medium, chelsea lam? Yeah. I share your doubts. However, to elizabeth, chelsea is the key to contacting franco. You know, I understand grief. I do. I — I think I understand it better than most, but I am — I’m afraid I’m having a hard time understanding why she wants to believe that franco’s ghost is — is trying to communicate with her. Maybe it’s because I trust the dead more than I trust the living right now.

Mom, I’m fine. Then why are you having tests run? Just a precaution. I mean, I’m fine. If there was something going on, I would definitely tell you. I mean, I’m not going anywhere. Good. Because after I read that article about nina’s petition for visitation in the invader? Wow. Wiley’s gonna need you more than ever. I know. I read the first part of that feature this morning. Yeah, but, you know, I think it’s really a good thing for people to know who nina reeves really is and what she’s capable of. And if it helps michael and willow at the hearing tomorrow and kills nina’s attempt at visitation with wiley, even better. Couldn’t agree more. Anything that keeps nina away from wiley is a good thing. But as your mother, I can’t help but warn you. Be careful what you wish for. Now that you know the lady’s with me, you got something to say to her? No, mr. Corinthos. I… yes, mr. Corinthos. I — I’m sorry. I know that you were close to your late sister, and that irene kept nothing from you. Then you understand how I couldn’t violate her trust, even after we lost her. Stella, curtis understands why you did what you did. Why don’t you let him worry about healing all of those old family wounds? Isn’t that right, nurse johnson? Whatever you say, doctor. Well, you know what? It won’t be long before you’re the one asking all the questions and they start calling you

dr. Johnson.

[ Both laugh ] Epiphany, you’re studying to be a doctor? Mm-hmm. I had no idea. Well, I missed my chance once to be a doctor, and I thought it was time to give it another shot. Well, good for you. I mean, what good is living if we can’t dream — and dream big?

[ Laughs ] Stella, you remind me of someone I used to know. It’s good to see you both, but, uh… I got to ask, how’d you know where to look? Well, tj may be a doctor, but he clearly inherited his mother’s detective skills. I found a repair receipt from a few months ago in your clarinet case, and we figured that was as good a lead as any. So I called the shop, spoke to mr. Purdee, who agreed to speak with me if I bought him dinner. So, you know the rest.

[ Chuckles ] Man! You two are a regular sherlock holmes and dr. Watson.

[ Chuckles ] Curtis know you here? Absolutely. We have had enough secrets, don’t you think? Molly: You know what? Why don’t I go call curtis right now and let him know that we found — no, no, no. Molly, don’t do that. Whatever went down between you and uncle curtis, once we get back home, we can clear the air and talk it all out. I’m sorry, tj, but mnh-mnh. That’s not gonna happen. Finn: We care about you. You can trust us. I mean, that’s why you sent jake and aiden to live here in the first place. Because you trust laura and you trust kevin, right? Why were you all down here whispering? Because I thought you were still asleep, and I didn’t want to wake you. Or maybe it’s because if I truly believe that I was speaking to franco last night through chelsea, then I must be losing my mind? No one was whispering, and no one thinks you’re crazy. So if I’m not crazy to think that chelsea can communicate with the dead, then I’m what, a credulous fool? Somehow, that seems even worse. Nobody thinks you’re a fool for wanting to believe that someone you loved and lost isn’t gone forever. But he isn’t, though. He isn’t, really. He lives on in your heart, in the hearts of your sons, and in the memories that you shared with him in the house you live in. These memories make us human, and it’s only natural for us to want to believe that there’s something beyond this material world. Just be careful about people who try to convince you to trust the dead more than you trust the living. You have friends. You can trust them. You have family. You can trust them. You have me. You can trust me.

[ Glass shatters ] That guy is probably halfway to buffalo by now. He’d better be, if he has any sense. Mm. As gallant as that was, sonny, thank you, but you don’t need to defend my honor. I can take care of myself. I have the battle scars to prove it. Yeah, I know. I’ve seen them. N’neka: Here you go. One signature martini. Yeah, can — one scotch rocks. Oh, no, no. Can I get a club soda on the rocks? Of course. Thank you. You’re sticking to your resolve. I’m impressed. Well, you know, and I’m impressed with you, how you can come in here holding your head up high after that hatchet job in the invader. Yeah, um… let’s not talk about that. And let’s not talk about the hearing tomorrow either. I mean, there are realities in my life, but we don’t have to focus in on them. No, we don’t have to focus on them. What do you want to talk about? I’m sure we can think of something.

Okay, mom. I’m listening. Why do I need to be careful about what I wish for? I mean, how could the invader article be anything but good for wiley? I mean, if it helps ensure that nina has no part in wiley’s life, that’s a win/win. Well, I just can’t help worry that that article could have unintended consequences. Like what? Sonny can’t resist a damsel in distress.

[ Scoffs ] So what — ah, what if that article brings out the knight in shining armor in your ex, and it helps to draw nina and sonny back together again? What if it does? Oh, honey, come on. Don’t pretend you don’t see where this is heading. Mom — if nina keeps finding ways to end up in sonny’s arms, there’s no chance the two of you are ever gonna get back together. That ship sailed, for good. Honey, this is your mother you’re talking to. That ship hasn’t even left the dock. Avery.

[ Both laugh ] She danced in the dance class, and I gotta tell you, I know I’m biased, but it was, like, the biggest hit of the festival. Aww. I’m not joking. Yeah. No, no, there’s no bias there. I’m sure she was. So, wait, you said that leo recited a poem? So all the quartermaines were there? Yeah. Michael and willow, they were there. I know how painful it is, this whole situation with michael. We don’t have to talk about it. No, no. I want to get it off my chest. I mean, things got tense with michael, but dante was there to be the peacekeeper. Oh, that’s good. Good for dante. So things are okay with you and michael? Well, you know what? After — after that article about you and everything I’ve learned since, I don’t think it’s gonna be okay with michael for a long time. I sure would love to hear more about your plans for a future in medicine, but I don’t want to keep you from your duties. Oh, I’m actually off the clock. Oh. Well, so am I. Ooh. So, wait. What are we doing sitting here in this conference room? We should be out painting the town red. Uh, dr. Robinson, does curtis know you trying to step out on him?

[ Laughter ] Okay. I say good for you. You need to keep that man on his toes. No! In no way am I saying we’d go out looking for trouble. But what’s wrong with three beautiful, smart women going out, enjoying a night on the town? Hmm. You had me at “beautiful.”

[ Laughter ] And I need a night off studying for the mcats, and I can be out of these scrubs in a minute. Alright. So where we going? Oh, we’re going to curtis’ club. We’re drinking for free tonight. Oh, okay! Cheers to that! Yeah.

[ Laughter ] Let’s do it. Trouble! I don’t understand what’s stopping you from coming home with us. It’s not like there’s something keeping you here. Or, wait — or is there? You know what? I think you two could use some one-on-one time. Tj, I’m gonna head to that jazz club that we saw around the corner. Okay. I’ll see both of you there later, okay? Marshall… I don’t think you understand how important you are to tj. We had plans to go to miami and just lie on a beach together, and he gave that up just to come find you. Don’t you ever, ever give that one up. I never will. But that goes for you, too. And I think if you are honest with yourself, you don’t want me to go, either. Tj. Tj, grandson, I appreciate — I appreciate the kind words. I really do. But too much damage has been done. So many misunderstandings, so many. So many regrets. So many hard feelings. Everywhere I go, I leave a path of destruction in my wake. Yes, I do. Everybody’s better off without me. And I’m better off alone. No. I don’t — I don’t know how you can even feel that way. You have never stuck around long enough to find out. Grandpa, look what I made. Oh, that’s beautiful, violet. Grandpa, you’re holding it upside down. I knew that. I was just teasing you. Oh, that’s even better.

[ Chuckles ] Oh, wh-what’s wrong? It goes with the one I made for aunt elizabeth. It was a picture of our family. Daddy, aunt elizabeth, jake, aiden, cameron, and me. And this one? That’s you and uncle chase. Of course. Now I see that. So now elizabeth will have all of us together, right? You’re learning.

[ Chuckles ] Elizabeth: See that? Franco’s spirit is angry because the three of you don’t believe he’s real. But there could also be, um, a simple explanation. I mean, the vase could have just fallen off the shelf. It didn’t just fall, laura. We don’t live in earthquake country. It was pushed. Yes, it was pushed — by the books. It could be because I didn’t lean them against the shelf the right way. Laura: Ohh. But it was an accident just waiting to happen. Right. Right. So there’s an explanation. No. No. I’m gonna call chelsea right now to prove to you that franco is reaching out to me.

Oh, my opinion of your ex-husband hasn’t changed. And to be clear, I’m not urging the two of you to get back together, but I’m a realist. And I don’t think it would be easy for anyone to kiss a lifetime of memories goodbye, the good or the bad. Sonny already did that. Mom, he was a different man when he came back from nixon falls. I mean, I tried hard to save my marriage and to hold on to what we had, but when sonny slept with nina, it just confirmed what I already knew. There was nothing left to save. And does it hurt? Yes, absolutely. But you know what would hurt more? Turning a blind eye to sonny’s fascination for nina and tying myself up in knots trying to stay with sonny when he doesn’t value me or our family. That’s why I filed for divorce. That’s why I didn’t fight for assets. Because fighting with sonny keeps me tied to him, and I just want to be free. And if nina helps herself to sonny, that won’t bother you? Sonny’s a grown man. He can do what he chooses. Wiley’s a different story. Nina is a bottomless pit of need, and she needs to believe that nelle was redeemable. And if nina has access to wiley’s life, she’s going to fill his little head with distortions and outright lies. I am glad that michael and willow are fighting her petition. I would be worried if they weren’T. And there’s no part of you that wants to get back at nina? I would love to say that I was over it, but I will never be over what nina did. Never. Dante warned me about something. It’s not so much what he said, it’s what he didn’t say. What do you mean? About michael? Yeah, he said it wasn’t just a difference of opinion or another family dust-up. He said michael’s not just trying to cut me out of his life, he’s literally trying to take me down. Sonny, no. Yeah. That’s horrible. I am so sorry. No, nina. You know I love michael and I’ll always love michael, but I got other family I got to take care of. I have a business that I’m proud of, with, like, people counting on me. I am not gonna let michael tear down everything that I’ve spent my lifetime building up. Do you think I’m wrong? Epiphany: Sonny corinthos! Now, you know this is the place to be when you see that he’s here.

[ Laughter ] I’m sorry if that sounded like a dig. I did not say that to insult you. I said it because it’s the truth. You gave me your clarinet as a way to say goodbye, but I don’t want something to remember you by. I want you. I won’t let you walk out on me like you did my uncle and my dad 40 years ago. Did you ever stop to think that maybe I did them a favor? A favor? Leaving two little boys to believe their father was dead? No, I don’t think you did them a favor. I mean, I get it. You know, as little boys, there wasn’t much they could do, but once they grew up, they could have helped you clear your name, maybe address the reasons why you got remanded in the first place. Curtis told you about that? All curtis told me was that you went to a protest and things went wrong, that you got arrested and you ended up in a mental institution instead of prison.

[ Groans ] But as a doctor and as your grandson, I’m not going to invade your privacy. I’m not gonna try to second-guess the past. I’m just here to say that I’m your family, that I’m your family and you’re mine, and you always will be. Just don’t walk out on your family again. Elizabeth. Please, wait. Just hear me out. Okay. I’m listening. But what are you gonna say that you haven’t already said? Well, I guess I haven’t been doing a very good job, because if I haven’t made it clear, I am always on your side. If that’s true, just be with me. The next time chelsea comes to my house to contact franco’s spirit, be with me. I don’t think that chelsea’s contacting anyone’s spirit. Listen, I know a lot of strange occurrences have happened, alright? And it’s frustrating not being able to figure out who’s responsible for them, but I don’t think we can just jump to the supernatural to explain everything, either. Elizabeth, I believe everything finn’s saying. I encourage you to listen to him. In fact, I think this might be a good chance for you to talk through things privately. No, no. If anyone’s going to leave, it’s finn. If you can’t see what’s really going on, then I don’t want you here.

[ Scoffs ] I am seeing what’s happening. Are you? Hmm? Because I think someone’s trying to keep us apart, trying to separate you from me, separate you from the boys, separate you from violet. They’re trying to break down the foundation of a life we were trying to build together, and you’re playing right into their hands! I really… don’t want to hear any more from you. You don’t have to.

Nina is her own worst enemy. It’s all spelled out in the invader exactly who the real nina reeves is. All the damage she’s caused, all the crimes she’s committed. Not one word is untrue. That feature was thoroughly vetted. Reading it should change a lot of people’s minds about her. Including the judge presiding at the visitation hearing? That’s right. And if justice is served, nina will get the same visitation rights that nelle had. None. We can only hope.

But nina is wiley’s biological grandmother. That might be a deciding factor for some judge. So have you thought about what you’re gonna do if nina pulls another rabbit out of her hat and the judge rules in her favor? Stella! Epiphany and dr. Robinson, wow. It’s always good to see you, sonny. Thank you. So you guys all know nina reeves? -Yeah. -Yeah. Nina, hello. Hi, ladies. I’m sure that you have read the invader. All I have to say is, don’t believe everything you see in the paper. Okay, um… you two have a good evening.

[ Portia chuckles awkwardly ] You know what I love about you is that you don’t back down, you don’t apologize. Uh, it seems like we have that in common. Sonny, before, I believe you were gonna ask me what I think about you pushing back against michael. Yeah, you never gave me an answer. Here’s my answer. You’re not wrong. So, how’s trina doing? Oh, she’s putting on a brave face, you know, but she’s worried about the trial. We all are. And on top of that, pcu filed a title ix report. And I read it. It’s not good.

[ Sighs ] I’m so sorry to hear that. Me, too. Trina is a fine young woman. Anyone who knows her knows she’s innocent. Thank you. Oh, well, wait, we haven’t ordered yet. These are courtesy of mr. Corinthos. Ohh. Oh! Well, will you please tell him that we say thanks?

[ Laughter ] Portia, where is trina tonight? Oh, she’s with josslyn. And with curtis out of town, if I were home, I would just be stuck thinking about what’s happening with trina and the injustice that my daughter is going through.

[ Sighs ] But you know what? We came out here to enjoy ourselves, right? Yes. Okay. So let’s make a toast. Oh. Okay. Let’s toast to epiphany nailing her mcats. Oh, amen to that! Now, this is the real deal. Yeah! Alright, we clink.

[ Laughter ] Mm-mm. Mm. Ahh! Mmm! So, epiphany… what gave you the courage to pursue your dream? Oh, well, I had a — a little push from a friend. Or didn’t he tell you? Who? Your brother-in-law, marshall. Whaaat?

[ Chuckles ] You know, if tommy were here, he’d be awfully proud of his son right about now. Almost as proud as I am. Well, I appreciate the sentiment, but there’s such a thing as too much pride. And it seems to me that you’re too proud to admit that you need us as much as we need you. Man, go on and get your girl. Alright? You shouldn’t keep molly waiting. Well, molly’s expecting both of us, so you are not getting out of it. Let’s head on over to the club. And who knows? Maybe the spirit will move you to sit in on a session and show us how good you used to be. What you mean, “used to be”?

[ Chuckles ] Talk is cheap. Okay. I know when you’re on the losing end of an argument. Let’s do this. Come on, chelsea, pick up.

[ Sighs ] Stupid voicemail. You know, it’s getting kind of late, and you’ve been through a lot today. What do you say we all just go to bed? Good idea. After a good night’s sleep, the whole world will look different. You mean I’ll be different? No longer delusional? No one said you were delusional. But there is such a thing as the power of suggestion. Maybe you’re right. Maybe, in the morning, everything will look different. Good night. Night. Good night.

[ Sighs ] I just wish that I could find the right words to help her. I know. Now, that’s a good metaphor for the evening.

[ Groans ] Do you remember where the broom and dustpan is? Yeah, I’ll help you. Where’s daddy? He’s late again. Well, you know, he’s a doctor, honey. Sometimes emergencies come up. Daddy! Hi, sweetheart. Oh, my goodness. You have no idea how badly I needed that hug. Hamilton, we were about to give up on you. I’m sorry. I stopped by laura and kevin’S. How’s elizabeth? Daddy? Hmm? I want to show you my picture. Oh, I want to see it. Oh, that is beautiful. Look at that. It’s — that’s your granddad, and that’s your uncle chase. See? He got it the right way.

[ Laughs ] Miss waitress? Mm-hmm? May I please have a hot fudge sundae with lots of chocolate, please? That bad, huh? Thank you. I’m losing her, dad.

Hoping the judge realizes that it’s in wiley’s best interest to keep nina out of his life. But if the judge rules in nina’s favor, I’ll do what I need to do to protect my family. Oh. Which means what? I don’t want to talk about this anymore. I don’T. The hearing is tomorrow. I will deal with it then. Right now, I want to focus on something else. So, want to come along? Sure, I’d love to join. But what about the test results that you’re waiting for? They’re not urgent. I can wait till tomorrow. Come on. Well, I just want you to know that your understanding and belief in me means more than you know. ‘Cause I gotta tell you, I was starting to feel like it — it was sonny corinthos against the whole world, you know? My money’s on you. But, regarding michael, what are you going to do to push back against him, sonny? I know that you love him, and I know you’re not gonna resort to intimidation and threats. Respect is very important to me. Michael has now crossed that line with me and with you. I was gonna attend tomorrow’s hearing so I can be there for michael and willow. But did you change your mind? No, I’m not — I’m still going to go. But because michael doesn’t want anything to do with me, he made that clear — he doesn’t want my support — that means I’m free to support you. Marshall and I had a little something going on, or so I thought, until he said goodbye. Have you heard from him? You can tell her. Curtis went to look for marshall. Jordan told me that tj has gone searching, too, so hopefully they can find him and convince him to come back home. If only it were that easy. Marshall made a big mistake 40 years ago, but he has something that most people never get — a second chance to make it right.

[ Trumpet playing in distance ] Hey, hey, follow me. You see this alley? It leads right to the stage door of the club. Well, can I get in that way? Yeah, man. Sure. The guy at the door knows me from way back in the day. Always lets me in. No cover, no minimum. Ooh. Ahh.

[ Laughs ] Look at you. Always working an angle, huh? Hey, mind your elders. Come on. Alright. Alright. You heard me. I’m just playing.

[ Both laugh ] You took the words right out of my mouth, old man. Hey, guys, we don’t want any trouble. Put your wallets on the ground. Cellphones, too. Nice and easy. Hey, tj, we just gonna do what they say. There you go. See that? All easy. It’s all good. What’s in the case? Oh, this — this thing? This is nothing but an old clarinet, man. Some nerd will buy that. We’ll take that, too. The hell you will. Of course this had to fall right when elizabeth was here. I know. You know, I don’t know which is harder to believe — that she’s been haunted by franco’s ghost, or that someone is willing to exploit her grief to try and drive her away from finn?

[ Glass rattles ] You know, I think elizabeth isn’t the only one who needs a good night’s sleep. I’m sure you’re right.

[ Chuckling ] Oh! You know, will you lock up for me tonight? I just want to check on her one more time. Sure. Go ahead. How’s that? Yeah?

[ Exhales sharply ] For lack of a better word, the medium conducted a — a seance, and that only reinforced elizabeth’s belief that franco’s ghost is trying to reach out to her from beyond the grave.

[ Sighs ] But you’re convinced that it’s someone very much alive who’s trying to come between the two of you? Whoever it is, they know elizabeth well. Maybe even better than she knows herself.

[ Sighs ] Well, as you know, I-I spent my life in the classroom. We teach that the history of the world is one long arc from superstition to science. Culture goes from fear of the unknown to finding the courage to ask the tough questions, no matter where they may lead. That’s certainly what I grew up believing. That’s what, in many ways, led me to becoming a doctor. But… what good is all that knowledge, dad, if I can’t use it to free elizabeth from the hold this person has over her? Laura: Kevin?

[ Footsteps approaching ] Kevin? Elizabeth is not in her room. She’s gone.

I don’t know, sonny. I’ve been pretty adamant about not wanting you to choose between michael and me. That’s the thing. You’re not making me do anything. Last time I was on the witness stand, scott baldwin, he’s the one who forced me to say that I had feelings for you. Yeah, and that cost you your marriage. And this could cost you your son. Okay. Let’s just be clear. I’m not discounting anything you did. You remember what I said to you at that graveyard, right? I’ll never forget it. Okay. So I was the one that was supposed to have suffered because of your actions. Why can’t I take charge and tell my story with my words? I admire your attitude, epiphany, and hopefully marshall wises up and decides to come home.

[ Chuckles ] And who knows? Maybe you two could have a fresh start?

[ Laughter ] I know you two mean well, but I am not waitg for prince charming. My life is full enough as it is. And if marshall wants to find out if there’s room for someone else, well, then, he knows where to find me. If marshall ashford doesn’t know what he’s missing, he’s a damn fool.

[ Laughter ]

[ Glasses clink ] Grandson, this is just an old clarinet. We gonna give them what they want. It’s not just a clarinet. It’s your passion, your livelihood. It’s what kept you going all these years you might have given up. I’m touched. Now hand it over. Don’t make us ask again. I checked every room. She is nowhere to be found. The security guard’s been at the front entrance all night. She didn’t go through there. Now, I suppose she could have taken the elevator to the basement and gone out through the service entrance. Oh, kevin, this is nothing like her. And where would she be going at this hour of the night? Come on, dad. How do i convince elizabeth she isn’t being haunted by franco’s ghost? Nothing I say gets through to her. In her defense, there’s — there’s no evidence, there’s no forced entry, no fingerprints. Every time something strange happened, no one was ever there. That’s not true, daddy. What do you mean, sweetheart? Aunt elizabeth was there.
