After Maggie tells Xander and Sarah that Bonnie went to the gardening shed, Xander gets worried and questions what the hell she’s doing down there.

Bonnie goes to the gardening shed and finds Susan tied up and gagged. Bonnie questions who did this to her.

Ava reveals that she was sent a photo of Tripp tied up and gagged while held at gunpoint with a message from EJ that says “You took my mother, I took your son.”

Steve is on the phone with Kayla at the Brady Pub. Steve talks about Kayla working late. Steve mentions Roman telling him all about his new fishing rod. Steve tells Kayla that he’s just going to have a beer and head home as they hang up. Steve then sees Rafe at a table and greets him, noting he hasn’t seen him in a long time. Steve offers to join Rafe but Rafe doesn’t think he’d be very good company. Steve asks what’s going on. Rafe says nothing good.

Eric and Nicole kiss in the Basic Black office as Jada shows up in the doorway and sees them.

Bonnie works on untying Susan, who at first thinks she is Adrienne before realizing that she’s Justin’s new wife, Bonnie. Bonnie says she just found her on coincidence while Susan insists the Lord sent her as he works in mysterious ways. Bonnie asks Susan who did this to her. Susan tells her it was a bad clown.

Ava tries calling Tripp but it goes to voicemail. Her vision of Charlie guesses EJ wasn’t kidding. Ava declares that EJ’s going to find out that he messed with the wrong Vitali. Ava calls EJ and leaves a message, warning that if he lays a finger on her son, she will kill him. Charlie remarks that it’s nice to see Ava cares about one of her sons. Ava questions Charlie complaining when EJ could kill Tripp. Charlie responds that he thinks EJ definitely bested her and she had it coming.

Steve asks Rafe if he’s not jumping the gun since Eric took pictures of Nicole for work and that doesn’t mean something is going on. Rafe insists that there is. Rafe says it’s not just the photoshoots and that ever since Eric came back to town, there’s been this pull between he and Nicole. Steve asks if he’s sure he’s not just being possessive. Rafe talks about how he keeps finding them in each others’ arms and there’s always an excuse. Steve understands why it’s not ideal for his wife to be working with her ex but that doesn’t mean the explanations aren’t true since they are good friends. Rafe believes that Eric and Nicole are and will always continue to be more than friends. Rafe talks about Eric and Nicole’s messy divorce and how Eric took off then came back and Nicole hired him so they could work together and be together because they never stopped loving each other.

Jada walks away in tears after seeing Eric and Nicole kissing before they see her. Eric stops and asks what they are doing. Nicole responds that it’s what they’ve been wanting to do for months.

Charlie remarks that it looks like Tripp isn’t getting out of this anytime soon as Ava gets a text from EJ, telling her to release Susan and he will release Tripp. Charlie points out that EJ doesn’t waste any time. Ava says she has to call Xander but Charlie tells her that she doesn’t want to do that.

Maggie offers drinks while they wait for Bonnie. Xander gets a text and says it’s an emergency at work so he has to go call in and rushes out. Maggie questions an emergency at this time of night while Sarah says who knows what it could be but calls it a good sign that they need him.

Susan tells Bonnie about the clown being in disguise so she couldn’t tell who the kidnapper was. Bonnie asks why someone would want to kidnap her. Susan says she doesn’t know but the man has a boss. Susan questions where they are. Bonnie tells her that they are at the Kiriakis garden shed. Susan questions why she’s down here at this time of night. Bonnie explains that she came to get lanterns for Maggie and Victor’s anniversary. Bonnie struggles with trying to untie Susan as Xander then returns in the clown mask and startles them.

Steve asks Rafe if he’s spoken to Nicole about this pull between her and Eric. Rafe confirms that he did tonight and she denied it but she just doesn’t want to admit it. Rafe states that Nicole doesn’t want to feel this way, but she just does. Steve knows it’s hard but suggests Rafe just trust her. Rafe calls that great advice and admits it’s exactly what he said to Jada. Steve asks if Jada thinks Eric and Nicole are pulled. Rafe responds that she certainly gives every indication that she believes that, because every time she sees Eric and Nicole together, she finds a way to tell him all about it. Steve asks if he thinks Jada is serious about Eric. Rafe responds that he doesn’t know. Rafe doesn’t know her that well but he thinks Jada thinks it’s serious since she always talks about Eric being God’s gift to the world. Rafe remarks that he’s pretty sure Eric feels that way. Steve notes that Jada has a tough exterior but she is young with a new job in a new town. Steve and Rafe hope this thing doesn’t end in tears.

Eric tells Nicole that they haven’t been fighting this for months and they just lost their heads for a moment. Nicole argues that she didn’t and she kissed him because she wanted to and she’s wanted to for awhile now, every time she’s seen him and every time she fights it, it gets stronger. Nicole tells Eric that she wants him and she thinks he wants her too. Eric reminds her that they were married so they will always be attracted to one another. Nicole calls this more than an attraction and says she feels the same about him now as she did when they were married. Nicole questions if Eric can honestly say there’s not a lot more to it. Eric brings up the day that Nicole and Rafe got married and Eric was at her doorstep when they got home. Eric reveals that he was there because he wanted to tell her how he felt about her. Eric says after Abe and Paulina’s wedding, it seemed like they should just talk but then he found out Nicole and Rafe got married, so he felt his feelings didn’t matter anymore. Nicole says that’s not true. Eric calls it fine that she’s with Rafe and he’s with Jada. Nicole argues that Eric and Jada is not what they have and insists that Jada knows that. Eric questions if she’s saying that he should break up with Jada and she should break up with Rafe to just let the chips fall where they may. Eric points out that he and Jada haven’t made any promises and are just getting to know each other, but Nicole is married and that really matters.

Steve tells Rafe that he’s not saying he’s right or wrong, but he thinks he needs to tell Nicole how he’s feeling. Rafe says he did. Steve argues that Rafe asked Nicole how she’s feeling but he needs to tell her what he just told him. Rafe admits that’s not the advice he expected from him. Steve talks about the ups and downs that he and Kayla have had over the years. Steve knows you can’t solve a problem by ignoring it. Rafe says point taken so Steve suggest changing the subject by talking abuot the Cubs. Jada then enters the Pub so they greet her. Steve asks if she’s okay. Jada says she has some work things to go over with Rafe, so Steve decides to leave them to it. Steve tells Rafe to hang in there and says goodnight to Jada as he then exits the Pub. Jada sits down, so Rafe asks her what’s going on.

Charlie questions if Ava is going to let EJ get away with this and give up $20 million. Ava responds that she doesn’t care about the money, she only cares about Tripp. Charlie argues that EJ is bluffing and isn’t going to hurt Tripp. Charlie warns that if Ava gives Susan up, she gives up any leverage she has. Ava asks what she is supposed to do then. Charlie instructs her to do nothing. Ava asks what if he’s wrong and EJ does hurt Tripp. Charlie argues that this is how EJ wants her to react. Ava argues that this is her son they are talking about. Charlie talks about how Ava kidnapped EJ’s mother but he didn’t fall apart, he regrouped and went for the juggular because he’s ruthless. Charlie tells Ava that is how she needs to be now and they both know she’s up for that. Charlie asks if Ava is going to beat EJ at his own game or cave like a house of cards.

Xander in the clown mask orders Bonnie to get away from Susan. Bonnie refuses and grabs a rake to fend him off. Xander warns that she doesn’t want him to lose his temper.

Victor joins Maggie and Sarah in the living room. Maggie tells Victor that Xander has a brand new job. Sarah explains to Victor how Xander got a job as an executive with a pharmaceutical start up company “Rednax” and how he’s in charge of upper management. Victor questions why he’s never heard of it.

Xander ties up Bonnie, who complains that this isn’t going to work. Xander then puts a gag on Bonnie and orders her to shut up.

Ava decides she’s going to call someone who can make this all go away. Ava calls Steve and says she needs to see him as it’s an emergency. Charlie remarks that now she’s playing the game.

Rafe asks Jada if something is going on at the station. Jada says not exactly. Rafe notes that something is bothering her. Jada responds that she just saw Eric and Nicole at Basic Black. Rafe mentions being there when Eric showed up. Rafe explains that he went to talk to Nicole about the pictures that Jada told him about and it turned in to another big fight. Jada says she’s sorry. Rafe says it turns out that he was all ticked off about Nicole modeling for Eric but it only got better from there as it turns out Nicole was going to be in pictures with Eric on the cover of Bella Magazine which shocks Jada. Jada says no wonder they got in a big fight. Jada says that she’s tired. Rafe comments that she obviously feels the same way he does about this whole thing. They get up from the table but then Jada faints in to Rafe’s arms.

Nicole tells Eric that she and Rafe have been fighting so much lately and she hates it because she knows the kind of man Rafe is and he just wants to know the truth. Nicole says part of Rafe knows that she’s keeping something from him. Nicole cries that the last thing she wants to do is hurt Rafe since she does love him and it should be a good marriage, but it’s not. Nicole complains that Rafe was so right that she married him so that she could forget about Eric and calls that a horrible thing to do to him. Nicole admits that Rafe deserves so much better. Eric brings up the way he treated her when they were married and questions what kind of man would marry her and then run for the hills. Eric says he lives with regret and he’s sorry. Nicole remarks that they really screwed things up but after all that, she still loves him and thinks she always will. Nicole says she had to say this to him, but if he doesn’t want to be with her, it will hurt but she’ll accept it. Nicole declares that no matter what, she needs to end things with Rafe because it’s not fair to treat him as a consolation prize. Nicole cries that every time she looks at Rafe, all she can think about is being with Eric. Eric responds by kissing Nicole and hugs her as she cries.

Bonnie manages to get the gag off and starts screaming for help. Susan argues that no one can hear her. Bonnie brings up that Maggie knew she was coming down here so sooner or later, someone’s going to find them.

Victor remarks that Rednax sounds made up to him. Sarah questions him never hearing of it. Xander walks in and asks how he could have when it’s a start up. Victor comments that 90% of start-ups fail. Maggie tells him to stop that now. Victor then adds that most of those failures didn’t have Xander Cook in key management. Xander remarks that it’s his faith in him that keeps him going. Xander wishes Maggie a Happy Anniversary. Sarah asks Xander about the emergency. Xander says it’s all taken care of. Sarah then gets a message from the hospital and says now it’s her turn. Xander argues that it’s her day off. Sarah points out that the hospital is really understaffed. Sarah wishes Maggie and Victor a Happy Anniversary and apologizes as she exits. Maggie decides it will just be the four of them for dinner then. Xander suggests just calling the whole thing off but Maggie insists that Victor and Xander are going to have dinner and work out their differences. Victor declares let the healing begin. Maggie wonders what’s keeping Bonnie and says she should’ve been back by now. Victor jokes that maybe she’s been abducted by aliens. Maggie decides she’s going to go look for Bonnie.

Ava goes to see Steve at his home and thanks him for seeing her. Steve questions what’s going on. Steve mentions that Tripp told him that EJ forced her to leave town. Ava responds that he did but she came back because she doesn’t like being pushed around. Ava adds that EJ found out that she broke the deal. Steve asks if he threatened to send her to prison. Ava reveals that it’s much worse than that as she shows Steve the photo of Tripp tied up at gunpoint.

Nicole asks Eric if she should go. Eric says no. Nicole tells him that he knows what that means if she stays. Eric thinks they both know what it means. Nicole asks about Jada. Eric says it’s like her and Rafe, he has to do the right thing as he can’t stay with Jada when his heart belongs to someone else. Nicole says as angry as she was with him, she never stopped loving him. Eric kisses her. They promise this time they are not going to screw it up. They kiss until Eric gets a call from Rafe. Eric answers and asks what’s going on. Rafe tells Eric that he’s at the hospital and he has to get down there because it’s Jada.

Steve talks to Joey on the phone and claims everything is fine and he just wanted to check in with him. Steve hangs up and informs Ava that Tripp told Joey that he was going camping. Steve notes that it looks like the picture is in Tripp’s apartment in Seattle, so he doesn’t think EJ would take him much further than that. Steve argues that it doesn’t make sense if EJ is just mad at her for coming back to town and says kidnapping Tripp is overkill and way too risky. Steve questions what Ava did. Ava says nothing. Steve says he doesn’t believe her but he doesn’t have time to drag it out of her. Steve declares that he’s going to get EJ to release Tripp and then he’s going to shove his teeth down his throat. Ava stops Steve and says he cannot go talk to EJ. Steve questions why the hell not.

Bonnie screams for help and then remembers she had her phone, but guesses it fell out of her pocket.

Maggie wonders if Bonnie fell and decides she’s going to check on her but Victor says no because it’s dark out and suggests Xander go instead. Xander then points out that Maggie’s phone just went off so Maggie checks her phone and sees a text from Bonnie’s phone, claiming something came up with Mimi so she’s on her way to Chicago. Maggie says at least they know she’s alright. Maggie declares that it looks like it will just be the three of them. Xander says absolutely not since it’s their anniversary and he’d just be a third wheel. Maggie disagrees and Victor asks him to stay but Xander tells them to have a nice, romantic dinner. Xander says he and Sarah will be in touch soon to set something up. Maggie stops Xander and suggests Victor congratulate Xander on his new job, so he does. Xander thanks Victor and tells him to have a lovely dinner. Maggie decides to walk Xander out. Maggie comments that at least he broke the ice. Xander thanks her for trying. Maggie assures that Victor will come around and says even if the night didn’t turn out as planned, things are starting to look up for he and Sarah.

Eric arrives at the hospital and asks Rafe about Jada. Rafe informs him that Sarah is examining her now and explains that they were at the Pub talking and she just fainted. Sarah comes out and tells them that Jada is much better as she’s alert and talking. Eric questions why Jada fainted. Sarah guesses it’s low blood sugar since Jada said she hadn’t eaten today but they took samples and should have answers soon. Eric asks if he can see her so Sarah agrees to take Eric to Jada’s hospital room. Nicole then arrives and sees Rafe.

Maggie and Victor sit together. Victor admits he’s not disappointed since he wants her all to himself on their anniversary. Victor calls marrying her the best thing to ever happen to him. Victor declares that they are lucky which Maggie agrees with.

Xander puts his clown mask back on and returns to the gardening shed to check on Susan and Bonnie. Bonnie reminds Xander that people know she’s there. Xander informs her that it turns out that she sent Maggie a text that she’s been called away on a family emergency as he shows her the text he sent from her phone. Bonnie asks if he’s going to keep them there forever. Xander responds that as soon as Susan’s son pays up, they’ll both be out of here and hopefully that will be any moment now. Bonnie shouts that he’s not going to get away with this and warns that it’s so stupid of him to mess with the DiMeras and now the Kiriakis family will come after him so his life is going to suck in more ways than he can imagine. Bonnie then questions how he knows about Mimi and realizes he knows her. Xander puts the gag back over her mouth and tells her to shut up.

Steve questions why Ava doesn’t want him to talk to EJ. Ava says that EJ is furious with her and vindictive, so if he finds out that she told him, who knows what he will do to Tripp. Steve questions what she’s not telling him and calls her a liar. Ava asks what it matters why or how this happened. Ava pleads with Steve to just go find Tripp. Ava calls Tripp a good guy just like him and says he doesn’t deserve this. Steve says of course he’s going to find their son and bring him back safe. Ava hugs Steve and thanks him.

Nicole tells Rafe that she was still with Eric in the office when he called and she just wanted to see if Jada was doing alright. Rafe says that Sarah said it was just low blood sugar and Eric is in with her now.

Eric sits with Jada and asks if he can get her anything but she says she’s fine. Eric mentions that it’s a good thing Rafe was there when Jada fainted. Eric then asks if something is wrong.

Rafe takes Nicole to a waiting room at the hospital. Nicole asks him what’s going on. Rafe says he wanted some privacy to say he’s sorry about before as he was making a big deal out of nothing since the cover shoot is just work. Nicole then admits that Rafe was right that it’s more than that. Rafe tells her to just say it. Nicole cries that she wants to be with Eric.

Jada tells Eric that before she went to see Rafe, she went somewhere else. Sarah comes back in to the room and interrupts them. Sarah notes that the lab hasn’t finished the full blood work yet but she got some preliminary reports and thinks she knows why she fainted. Jada asks what it is. Sarah tells Eric that she thinks she should talk to Jada in private but Jada says it’s okay as she wants him here. Sarah then hands Jada a folder. Jada opens it up and is shocked as she then announces she is pregnant.

Nicole is on her computer as Basic Black and gets an e-mail from Alex, containing her and Eric’s modeling photos together.

Eric is at the Brady Pub, looking at he and Nicole’s modeling photos on his phone when Sarah walks in and asks if he’s playing a game on his cell phone. Eric says it was nothing important and just a work e-mail. Eric asks if Xander will be joining her for dinner but Sarah says no as he is working late at his new job..

Xander puts on the clown mask and enters the shed where Susan remains tied up and gagged.

At the DiMera Mansion, EJ calls Ava and yells for her to answer the phone.

Ava remains in the DiMera Crypt and laughs that EJ won’t stop calling so he must be terrified for his mother. Ava’s vision of Charlie appears and says that’s good because he wants EJ to suffer the same pain that he made Ava feel. Ava ignores the call as Charlie says he’s so proud of her.

Tony enters the living room and informs EJ that he was able to get in touch with the designer of the crystal heart that Susan accidentally broke and they are having a new one made, so it’s safe for Susan to come out of hiding. EJ then reveals that Susan isn’t hiding, she’s been kidnapped.

Xander offers Susan a sandwich for dinner but she says she doesn’t want it and wants to be let go. Xander says he’s sorry but he can’t do that. Susan argues that EJ will give anything he wants. Xander responds that he wants Susan back with her son just as much but she has to be patient. Susan complains that he’s not the one tied up and sitting with gardening tools and horse manure. Xander apologizes for the setting. Susan questions why he’s doing this to her and argues that clowns are supposed to bring happiness and joy, not fear and sorrow. Susan says he should be ashamed of himself and asks what kind of miserable person does such a thing.

Eric brings Sarah a drink and asks her about Xander’s new job. Sarah claims he was hired by a pharmaceutical company called “Rednax” full time and she’s very proud of him because he worked really hard to get the job. Sarah admits they really need the money. Eric didn’t realize things were tight. Sarah explains that Xander racked up quite the bill at the Salem Inn while she’s still just working part time at the hospital until they can confirm she’s no longer suffering from what Kristen did to her. Eric tells her that he’s sorry that things have been tough. Sarah says it’s okay and that she and Xander will land on their feet. Sarah adds that there are perks of working part time since she gets to do house calls. Sarah mentions just getting back from one at Brady’s as Rachel had a stomachache from Halloween candy. Eric asks how it was for her seeing Rachel. Sarah admits that she doesn’t think she’ll ever recover from losing her. Eric admits it’s hard for him too. Sarah knows he’s thinking that they have Xander to blame for it which Eric confirms.

Nicole continues looking through the modeling photos until Rafe arrives with sushi for dinner. Nicole shuts her laptop and kisses him as she asks about his night. Rafe says it’s been crazy since the election. Nicole asks why as she hasn’t heard since she’s been swamped and dealing with marketing. Rafe says it’s that and also her new role which she questions. Rafe reveals that he heard she’s moonlighting as Eric’s top model.

Bonnie rushes in to the Kiriakis Mansion and asks Maggie if she heard about Paulina Price. Maggie says she heard Paulina got elected Governor but Bonnie says that’s old news and she means what happened after the election. Bonnie then informs Maggie that Chanel was arrested for murder which Maggie calls awful. Maggie worries that Paulina must be beside herself. Bonnie calls it a mother’s worst nightmare.

Eric apologizes to Sarah since Xander is her husband now and mentions that he’s the one who encouraged her to forgive Xander. Sarah understands Eric still being angry with him. Sarah acknowledges that what Xander did hurt them both very deeply and she didn’t think she’d ever get past it. Eric is glad she did for her sake. Sarah credits Eric for her being able to let go of the pain and anger since he helped her see the kind of man that Xander is capable of and now she’s very proud to call him her husband…

Susan asks if the clown is proud of his actions and questions what’s in this for him and why he’s doing this to her. Xander then storms out of the shed and removes the mask in frustration. Xander then calls Ava. Charlie tells Ava not to answer his call either and remarks that all these men keep trying to tell her what to do. Ava says that includes Charlie and she makes her own decisions, so she answers the call. Xander questions what took her so long to answer. Ava tells him to relax. Xander asks how much longer he has to hold on to Susan. Ava says just a little while longer. Xander complains that Susan is scared and hungry. Ava says that’s not her problem. Xander argues that Ava said this would be quick and easy. Ava tells him to just calm down and stay the course. Xander says he has a life and a future. Xander warns that if Ava doesn’t finish this, he will. Xander orders Ava to get him his money or he will let Susan go and then hangs up.

EJ tells Tony that Susan tried to warn him that someone was after him and he thought it was just Johnny being angry that he sent Ava away. EJ complains that Ava has been lying in wait to get her revenge ever since he proved that she wasn’t married to Jake. EJ adds that he should’ve locked Ava up in prison when he had the chance and now Susan is the one paying the price.

Nicole guesses Rafe is upset that she got pulled in to the Bella photoshoot. Rafe explains that he just would have liked to have heard about it from her instead of one of his detectives. Nicole argues that Jada has an agenda because she’s dating Eric. Rafe says that Jada did nothing wrong and this is just another example of a lack of communication between them. Nicole says she was going to tell him so Rafe asks why she didn’t. Nicole says it just happened as something happened to one of their models and Alex asked her to step in but she agrees she should’ve told him first and now there is something that he wants her to hear from her. Nicole decides there is something she wants to show him. Nicole then opens her laptop and reveals the modeling photos of her and Eric. Rafe questions what the hell this is and why he’s looking at a picture of his wife draped all over her ex-husband. Nicole explains that this was Alex’s idea and that at first it was going to be with Brady but Alex thought it would be better with Eric. Rafe questions why it would be better. Nicole says that according to Alex, she didn’t have any chemistry with Brady. Rafe argues that Alex saw chemistry between her and Eric just like everyone in this damn town. Rafe tells Nicole to just stop trying to hide the fact that she and Eric still have feelings for each other.

Eric calls Sarah an inspiration and an example of forgiveness and perseverance. Eric says that Sarah never stopped loving Xander after all she’s been through. Sarah asks Eric how it’s going with Jada. Eric states that it’s early but he likes being around her and thinks she would say the same. Sarah says enjoying your partner’s company is important and jokes that it could come in handy if you’re ever sharing a roach infested motel room. Eric admits he still has a little anger towards Xander but he’s working very hard to find forgiveness for him. Eric talks about spending a lifetime preaching forgiveness. Sarah promises that Xander has truly changed and is not the same man that let them believe another couple’s baby belonged to them. Sarah declares that she knows Xander will never do something that terrible again..

Xander puts the clown mask back on and enters the shed to tell Susan that she should be going home soon. Susan is excited and asks if he got in touch with EJ. Xander tells her not to worry about the details. Susan asks how he lives with himself and remarks that his mother must be so disappointed in him. Xander responds that his mother is a drunken trainwreck so he doesn’t give a damn what she thinks. Susan asks if he has a wife and how she would feel about her man being a dirty low down kidnapper..

Bonnie tells Maggie that she can’t believe Xander made Sarah move to a flea bag motel because Victor called him a loser. Maggie says that Xander is a proud man. Bonnie argues that she puts up with Victor being mean to her all the time because of the mansion. Maggie jokes about how stubborn Kiriakis men can be. Bonnie apologizes for ragging on her husband. Maggie knows she puts up with a lot from Victor. Maggie then mentions it’s her anniversary today as she married Victor 11 years ago today. Bonnie congratulates her and asks what they are doing to celebrate. Maggie responds that they are just going to be together. Bonnie questions not doing anything with family. Maggie points out that she can’t see Sarah and Xander because of Xander’s ridiculous quarrel with Victor. Bonnie argues that’s not right and that they need to make up and move on. Maggie says they can’t because they won’t even talk to each other. Bonnie suggests letting her handle this. Maggie calls that sweet of her to care. Maggie questions if she really thinks she can fix this. Bonnie says she knows she can and declares that she will get this family back on track.

Tony asks EJ if Ava made a ransom demand. EJ says not yet as she told him to wait for further instruction. Tony suggests getting the police involved but EJ doesn’t think that’s a good idea. Tony thinks they could use the police’s resources and adds that Rafe would be more than willing to help after what Ava did to him. EJ agrees that maybe he should bring Rafe in to this. EJ then gets a call from Ava, who tells him that Susan is fine for now. Ava asks if EJ is ready to hear her demands. EJ questions her taking so long to get back to him. Ava advises him to watch his tone if he ever wants his kids to see their grandmother again. EJ warns that if she does anything to harm Susan, there will be no safe place for her to hide from him. Tony suggests EJ not antagonize Ava. Ava reminds EJ that he’s in no position to make any threats as she’s the one calling the shots. EJ asks what Ava wants. Ava says in exchange for the safe return of his mother, he’s going to give her 20 million dollars.

Susan guesses that Xander does have a wife since he turned away. Xander brings up being warned that she’s psychic but he doesn’t believe in all that. Susan insists that the universe blessed her with the gift of second sight. Xander asks if that’s how she knew he was married. Susan then points out that he’s wearing his wedding ring.

Sarah gets a call from Bonnie and asks if everything is okay with Maggie and Victor. Bonnie says not exactly so Sarah asks what’s wrong. Bonnie tells Sarah that Maggie isn’t in a right state which she questions. Bonnie brings up today being Maggie and Victor’s wedding anniversary. Sarah admits she totally forgot. Bonnie figured it could’ve slipped her mind with all the fighting between Xander and Victor. Sarah is surprised Maggie told her about that. Bonnie says they live in the same house so it’s kind of hard to miss. Bonnie declares that tonight they are all going to put that behind them and invites Sarah and Xander over for dinner. Sarah points out that she was just about to order dinner at the Pub and Xander is working late. Bonnie argues that she can eat at the Pub any day and declares that tonight, they are eating with family. Bonnie states that it’s time the Kiriakis family gather under one roof and Maggie and Victor’s anniversary is the perfect time to do it. Bonnie says she’ll see her later and hangs up. Eric comes over and asks if Sarah decided what she wants. Sarah responds that there’s been a change of plans and it looks like she’s going to be playing referee all night.

Nicole tells Rafe that it was just a photoshoot. Rafe responds that he knows what it was. Nicole is not sure he does since he’s assuming that she and Eric wanted to be on the cover and they did not. Nicole repeats that this was Alex’s idea and he insisted. Rafe wishes Nicole would respect him enough to not try to gaslight him. Rafe complains that she’s acting like he’s not seeing what’s right in front of him. Nicole asks him to just listen to her as she tells him that she and Eric were told to act like they were attracted to each other and that’s what they did. Nicole calls modeling like acting and says she was playing a role while these are just pictures. Rafe argues that it’s pictures of his wife looking like she wants to tear the clothes off her ex-husband. Nicole knew doing the photoshoot was a bad idea and says she should’ve trusted her instinct. Rafe asks why she didn’t then. Nicole responds that Alex wouldn’t take no for an answer and admits she got caught up in the excitement of modeling again. Rafe says this isn’t even about the pictures, it’s about them and their marriage. Rafe states that the stupid photoshoot just forces them to face the real issue. Nicole argues that there is no issue. Rafe needs Nicole to be honest with him and herself. Rafe asks if the thing between her and Eric ever really went away. Nicole asks how many times she has to tell him that Eric is in her past and Rafe is her present and future. Nicole states that she has a husband and Eric has a girlfriend while there is nothing romantic between them anymore. Nicole says they are friends that work together but that’s it. Rafe responds that he hears her but it sounds to him like she’s not just trying to convince him, but trying to convince herself.

Bonnie asks Maggie about dinner. Maggie questions what this is all about. Bonnie announces she’s throwing a dinner party for her anniversary and Sarah and Xander will be attending which excites Maggie. Bonnie says she told her that she could pull it off. Maggie calls it wonderful and says Bonnie really is a miracle worker. Maggie asks how she did it. Bonnie explains that she told Sarah how much the occasion meant to her and Sarah agreed to convince Xander. Maggie says she’s so impressed. Maggie asks if Justin will be attending. Bonnie says no because he’s in Arizona visiting his sons, but when Xander and Victor are reunited, it will give the family that much more to celebrate when they are all back together. Maggie just hopes they behave themselves. Bonnie hugs her and tells her not to worry about a thing. Bonnie declares that she’s going to get the Kiriakis family back on track.

Xander admits to Susan that he is married but tells her to leave his wife out of this. Susan says she can’t do that and threatens to send her a psychic message that she needs her. Xander says that’s enough but then his phone rings so Susan declares that it worked.

EJ asks Ava if she really thinks he’s going to let her steal more money from his family than she already has. Ava questions if he values money more than his mother’s life. EJ responds that his mother is priceless to him. Ava tells him to prove it then. Ava says if EJ pays the 20 million, he’ll get his mom back and they can all move on with their lives. Ava adds that he should be grateful that she’s not asking for more. EJ agrees to give her the money and asks how they do this and where they meet for the exchange. Ava refuses to risk having his hired goons take her out. Ava orders EJ to wire the funds to an offshore account and once she sees the money has been transferred, she will tell him where he can find Susan. Ava then hangs up. Ava’s vision of Charlie tells her that he’s never been more proud of her and he’s never loved her more.

Xander puts the gag back on Susan and steps out of the shed to remove the clown mask and answers the phone. Sarah comments on him finally answering and jokes that she was about to have to send out a search party. Xander claims that he’s still stuck at the office and that they really wanted him to hit the ground running. Sarah informs Xander that Bonnie wants them to come to the Kiriakis Mansion for dinner for Victor and Maggie’s anniversary. Sarah adds that she knows Xander is still upset with Victor but Bonnie said that Maggie is really bummed about the rift in the family so it would really mean a lot to them. Sarah pleads with Xander to come. Xander agrees to come since it’s for Maggie. Sarah asks how far he is from the Kiriakis Mansion. Xander admits he’s not far at all so Sarah says she will see him there and hangs up.

Maggie tells Bonnie that she will go upstairs and change and check on Victor. Maggie thanks Bonnie and says it means a lot. Bonnie says it’s her pleasure. Bonnie then brings up when she and Justin were first dating and Maggie had her over for dinner. Bonnie recalls seeing two charming stainless steel lanterns and felt that they would make the perfect centerpiece for an 11th anniversary. Maggie calls that a lovely idea and says she keeps the lanterns in the back in the gardening shed. Bonnie decides she will go check there now…

Ava tells Charlie that it’s done and there’s no turning back now. Charlie remarks that he kind of wishes she made EJ sweat a little longer, but he’s happy for her as pretty soon, she’ll be swimming in cash and she can go back to being the power player she was always meant to be. Charlie asks if Ava is happy she listened to her good son as they hug.

Tony asks how fast EJ needs to come up with the money and offers to help by moving investments around if he’d like. EJ thanks Tony for the offer but says that won’t be necessary. Tony asks if EJ is going to pay Ava. EJ responds that he’s going to do whatever it takes to bring his mother home.

Nicole understands why Rafe is upset and why he reacted the way he did to the pictures. Nicole suggests they go home and talk about it. Rafe thinks they just did and questions what more there is to say. Eric then walks in asking if Nicole saw the photos but then stops and says he didn’t mean to interrupt. Rafe stops him and says he was just leaving. Nicole says they both were about to head home but Rafe declares he’s going to get a beer alone. Rafe adds that he’s sure Nicole and Eric have a lot of catching up to do over their incredible photoshoot. Eric tries to explain but Rafe says he’s not interested in what he has to say and storms out. Nicole calls out to Rafe, leaving her frustrated. Eric offers to go talk to Rafe but Nicole says that will only make things worse. Eric asks if she told Rafe it’s not what he thinks. Nicole says of course she did, but he’s not stupid. Eric asks what she means. Nicole tells him that Rafe sees what’s going on and everyone does.

Sarah joins Xander at the Kiriakis Mansion and asks about his first day at work. Xander calls it interesting and says they’ll talk about it when they get home as they kiss. Maggie then comes in and says she is so pleased they are both there. Sarah and Xander hug her and wish her a happy anniversary. Sarah asks where everyone else is. Maggie responds that Justin is in Arizona and Victor hasn’t come down yet. Xander asks about Bonnie. Maggie informs him that Bonnie was heading out to the gardening shed, giving Xander a look of worry.

Bonnie goes to the gardening shed and finds Susan tied up and gagged.

EJ makes a call, saying to let him know when it’s taken care of. Tony asks if he wired the money to Ava’s account. EJ says not exactly, so Tony questions what that means.

Ava’s phone goes off, so she assumes that’s EJ letting her know that he made the transfer. Charlie notes that didn’t take long and says that’s the respect she commands when she listens to him. Ava then picks up her phone and begins to panic. Charlie asks what’s wrong. Ava then reveals that she was sent a photo of Tripp tied up and gagged while held at gunpoint.

Eric asks what Nicole is saying. Nicole brings up Alex, Chloe, and Rafe, and says everyone sees the connection between them and that they can’t deny the chemistry is still there both in the photos and when they are in the same room together. Eric tells her they don’t have to do this right now while emotions are high. Eric suggests not saying anything they wished they wouldn’t have said. Nicole asks if he means like something honest. Nicole asks if Eric is tired of fighting it because she is. Nicole admits she’s been fighting it since the day Eric came back to town, lying to herself, and pretending that she’s over him and not jealous of he and Jada. Eric argues that he was trying to do the right thing, give her space, and respect her marriage. Eric says he started seeing somebody but no matter what, he always finds himself where he started in the same place with her. Eric and Nicole then start kissing.

Leo and Sonny go out to dinner. Sonny admits he’s having second thoughts but Leo promises it will be a fun and memorable night. Sonny jokes that he wants to make sure Leo actually brought his wallet for when the check comes. Leo tells Sonny to prepare to have his shallow misconceptions about him shattered because he got an advance on his pay check. Alex arrives which scares Leo, who questions if Sonny brought Alex as some sort of threat since Alex has had it in for him since the night Sonny was stabbed. Alex tells Leo to relax as he didn’t come for him, but for Stephanie.

Chad goes to the Brady Pub and finds Sloan, who asks where his partner in crime is. Chad asks if she means his partner in crime fighting. Chad tells Sloan that despite her best efforts, their client won and is out celebrating while Sloan is drowning her sorrows with a martini. Sloan informs Chad that she is the one celebrating. Chad points out that she lost, but Sloan responds that he is way behind the times.

Melinda Trask is at the police station, happily looking over the file on Paulina that Sloan had. Belle arrives looking for Shawn. Melinda informs her that he should be back soon as she just sent him out with an arrest warrant which he should be serving right about now.

Shawn then reveals that Chanel is under arrest for suspicion of murder and handcuffs her, shocking Paulina, Allie, and Abe. Allie argues that there must be some kind of mistake but Shawn assures there is not. Paulina encourages Chanel that it will be okay while Abe questions what this is all about. Shawn admits he doesn’t know as it was Melinda’s idea and she put her up to this. Shawn reads Chanel her rights as members of the media come over to question Paulina about if this is true and if she has any comments.

Chad tells Sloan that she can’t spin this defeat since she has nothing left to blackmail Paulina without the original file. Sloan comments on what Alex did with it and says she didn’t realize Alex was moonlighting for SJ PR. Chad responds that they are friends. Sloan states that Alex stole her file, so she stole it right back from him which Chad questions. Sloan reveals that thanks to Leo, she got access to Paulina’s safe and the information that rightly belonged to her.

Leo claims to Alex that he knows he’s not mad at him anymore. Alex responds that he doesn’t think about him at all, especially when he has much more pleasant things to dwell on as Stephanie joins him. Leo jokes that he would invite them to join them but he and Sonny have lots to talk about which Sonny disagrees with. Leo and Sonny then go to their table. Leo complains that Alex could show more respect since he’s a key member of their new Governor’s team and believes he’s made himself invaluable to her.

Melinda suggests Belle record the news tonight because Shawn is bound to be all over the coverage. Belle questions who Shawn went to arrest. Melinda is glad she asked because camera crews are going to be there documenting Paulina’s election win, but they are also going to witness her very first scandal. Belle questions this being about Paulina. Melinda guesses Paulina won’t make it to inauguration day before having to resign. Belle questions what she sent Shawn to arrest Paulina for. Melinda responds that Paulina is not the suspect, but she’s gone to great lengths to cover up the heinous crimes of her daughter…

Paulina demands the handcuffs be removed from Chanel and calls this an outrage. Chanel questions what is happening. Paulina tells her not to worry. Abe tells Paulina not to interfere. Allie argues that there’s no way. Paulina gets questions from the media about Chanel’s arrest. Paulina calls this a mistake and a travesty. Paulina promises Chanel that it will all be okay. Shawn escorts Chanel to the police station. Allie goes with them as media follows behind while Abe holds Paulina back.

Sonny toasts to Paulina winning the election and then questions Leo’s sudden lousy mood. Leo responds that Alex’s snarky comment hurt his feelings. Sonny jokingly questions Leo having feelings. Leo knows he screwed up in the past but says he’s doing his damndest to make it up to the people he’s hurt and become a productive citizen of Salem while Alex treats him like the gum on the bottom of his shoe. Sonny argues that he can’t blame Alex for being curious as to why Leo invited him out. Leo reminds Sonny that if he hadn’t identified Clyde as his attacker, he’d be in prison right now. Sonny is glad the right person was punished but says Leo didn’t have to take him out to dinner. Leo says he wanted to and brings up their history, pointing out that they used to be married and that’s a big deal. Sonny reminds him that he blackmailed him so saying they were married makes him queasy. Leo complains that he only blackmailed him after he and Will thought they killed him and rolled his body up in a rug to dispose of him. Sonny shouts that none of that would have happened if he wouldn’t have gone after he and Will in the first place. Stephanie asks Alex if things are getting intense over there. Alex says he’s not sure Sonny even knows why he’s here. Stephanie asks if it’s not a date. Alex assures it’s not and that Sonny and Will are solid. Alex suggests they ignore them and focus on their big night. Stephanie says hearing the election results felt even better than she thought it would. Alex encourages that she made that happen. Stephanie thanks Alex again for getting that file from Sloan as she knows he felt like he was betraying her. Alex responds that if that’s all it took to get a date with Stephanie, he’d do it all over again. Alex then apologizes and takes that back, saying he won’t come on too strong or push way too hard, noting that calling this a date would be presumptuous. Stephanie says maybe but asks what if it is a date.

Sloan asks if Chad still thinks she’s bluffing. Sloan tells Chad not to come crying to her when all hell breaks loose which should be any moment now. Chad sits with her and offers to buy the file back from her and tells her to name her price. Sloan can’t blame him for thinking Paulina could buy her way out of this but says they used someone she cared about to humiliate her, so she was forced to up the stakes. Chad questions what she is talking about. Sloan declares that Paulina is about to get what’s coming to her and she will have no one to blame but Chad and Stephanie.

Abe and Paulina go back to her office as Abe calls security to escort the media away from Paulina’s door. Paulina questions him dragging her in here when he knows Chanel needs her. Abe says he had to get her away from the reporters and says he’s as worried about Chanel as she is, but this story is about her as the new Governor and those reporters are going to ask questions that she doesn’t have the answers for or maybe she does.

Belle questions what Melinda is arresting Chanel for. Melinda doesn’t think she’s ever had an easier time getting a judge to sign off on a warrant. Shawn arrives with Chanel in handcuffs. Melinda tells him nice work and asks how it went. Shawn responds that she knows exactly how it went. Shawn adds that he has officers out front trying to keep the reporters at bay. Melinda jokes about hoping the cameras caught his good side and asks if Chanel knows why she is here. Belle advises Chanel that she doesn’t have to say anything. Melinda suggests taking Chanel to booking so they can start questioning her. Belle asks Shawn what’s going on. Shawn responds that he doesn’t know all the details but he will fill her in later as he then escorts Chanel away.

Leo asks Sonny if they can start over. Sonny suggests they just call for the check and leave. Leo stops him and says he didn’t want to fight. Leo is sure there are things they both regret but they also have had fun which Sonny disagrees with. Leo remarks that it’s never been boring which Sonny reluctantly agrees with. Leo just wants them to get along. Sonny argues that Leo always has an ulterior motive and an angle. Sonny adds that if Leo’s looking for another sugar daddy, his wedding ring means a lot to him. Leo questions Sonny thinking that he asked him out to seduce him and take his money. Sonny clarifies that he’s not thinking that. Leo says he’s beyond hurt and insulted. Leo adds that he doesn’t need a sugar daddy since he has a great job now and he just wants friendship which Sonny questions. Leo admits that he doesn’t have very many friends, specifically not one gay male friend. Sonny questions him wanting him to be the one. Leo calls him funny and popular, so he may not have any idea of what it’s like to be lonely but it sucks.

Abe questions what Paulina is not telling him. Paulina knows he’s thinking that she’s keeping yet another secret from him but she really believed that she had this under control. Abe wants to help her but he can’t unless he knows what this is and they have no time to waste if Chanel is going to be charged with murder. Paulina explains that she was being blackmailed for something Chanel did when she was younger and she had to pay up or the police would find out the truth, so she hired Stephanie to handle it. Paulina adds that the proof was in a file and Stephanie got it back for her so the blackmail was over and she thought Chanel was safe. Paulina notes that she put the file somewhere where no one could get it so she doesn’t understand how this got out of control. Abe questions who was blackmailing her. Paulina responds that it was Sloan Peterson.

Chad questions what Sloan did. Sloan says it was what she was threatening to do from the very beginning if she didn’t get what she asked for. Chad asks if she went to the cops. Sloan responds that she did even better as Melinda Trask was very interested in the contents of that file. Chad pulls out his phone and calls Stephanie.

Alex asks if Stephanie would be willing to date since up until now, everything she said has been pretty much the opposite. Stephanie says she had her reasons, but maybe it’s time to rethink those reasons. Alex calls that the best news he’s heard all year long. Stephanie then gets a call from Chad. Alex asks if she needs to take it and offers to give her some privacy but Stephanie decides no since she is here with him and silences her notifications. Stephanie declares that the election is over, so she deserves a night without alerts as work is done and right now, she has something more important to focus on when Alex toasts to.

Allie goes to the police station and asks Belle if she saw Chanel. Belle confirms that Shawn just brought her in. Allie says she tried to follow but had to fight through the reporters. Allie asks if Chanel is locked up already. Belle says she’s still in the station and just got taken down for booking. Allie worries that Chanel must be so scared and there’s nothing she can do to help. Belle asks if Allie knows what this is about. Allie says no as Paulina had just finished her victory speech and everything was great but then Shawn showed up and said Chanel was under arrest on charges of murder. Belle is shocked and asks how that can be.

Chanel has her mugshot taken.

Chad’s phone goes off as Sloan remarks that it sounds like he’s getting a lot of notifications and sarcastically asks if there’s something in the news. Chad tries calling Stephanie and wonders why she isn’t picking up. Sloan guesses Stephanie is busy. Chad remembers that he knows where she is and exits the Pub as Sloan wishes him luck because he’s going to need it.

Paulina checks her safe and finds out the file is gone. Paulina doesn’t know how Sloan did it but she somehow got in to her safe and stole back the evidence. Abe questions how Sloan got the evidence in the first place. Paulina explains that she was representing some mystery client but wouldn’t tell her who it was. Abe questions having the evidence just sitting in the safe. Paulina explains that she planned to shred everything but she hasn’t had a moment alone since getting her hands on it. Paulina realizes that Melinda Trask has the file now and she hates her ever since she strong-armed her in to giving Lani a plea deal. Paulina cries that Melinda is taking it out on Chanel and she needs to go see her daughter. Abe stops her and says until they have a plan, they need to keep their distance from the reporters. Paulina complains that they can’t just sit here and do nothing. Abe reminds her that they can’t do anything to help Chanel until they have a plan and until Paulina tells him what Chanel did.

Chad finds Stephanie and questions her ignoring his calls. Alex points out that they are in the middle of something here. Chad apologizes for interrupting but tells Stephanie that she needs to check her phone. Stephanie questions what’s going on and is then shocked when she looks at her phone. On the other side of the room, Sonny questions Leo being serious about wanting a friend. Leo asks why he would joke about that. Sonny responds that everything is a joke to him and that he enjoys nothing more than making someone look like an idiot. Leo asks if that’s how he sees him. Leo says being funny is his greatest talent and admits he scandalizes people by being outrageous because it keeps them at a distance but all it gets him is somebody thinking he’s pulling a prank when trying to reveal a piece of his heart. Sonny apologizes. Leo acknowledges that it’s his own fault for acting like a clown but he didn’t expect Sonny to be like everybody else. Stephanie asks Chad when this happened. Chad says it was right after Paulina gave her victory speech. Stephanie questions how it happened. Chad says he’s still trying to sort that out but he just ran in to Sloan, who was happy to tell him what she did as she got the documents back and used them. Alex questions how Sloan got the documents out of Paulina’s safe. Chad looks up and sees Leo across the room. Chad points at Leo and reveals that Sloan said he helped. Alex then gets up and goes over to grab Leo, questioning what he did.

Allie tells Belle that she wants to help Chanel so bad but she doesn’t know who to call and has never felt so helpless. Belle encourages that it will be okay and she’ll help in any way she can. Shawn returns and informs them that Melinda has Chanel in the interrogation room because she wants to do the initial questioning. Allie worries about Chanel being by herself. Belle says this is what Melinda does as she wants Chanel to be scared and desperate so that she will say whatever to get out. Allie pleads with Shawn to help Chanel.

Melinda sits in the interrogation room with Chanel and tells her that the truth is her only way through this. Belle interrupts. Melinda tells Belle that she’s not allowed to be in here. Belle asks Chanel if she wants her to be her lawyer. Chanel says yes, so Belle declares that this interrogation is over. Melinda warns Chanel to think twice about that and questions putting her fate in Belle’s hands. Melinda adds that it’s not too late to change her mind. Chanel confirms that Belle is her lawyer now. Belle asks for a few minutes to confer with her client, so Melinda angrily exits the room. Belle sits with Chanel and tells her that Allie was afraid of Chanel being in here alone, but assures that she’s not alone anymore.

Melinda tells Shawn to get to writing up the arrest report. Allie questions why Melinda is doing this. Melinda respond that she’s just doing her job and tells Allie that if she knows anything, she can help by giving a statement. Melinda claims she’s just trying to be helpful. Melinda adds that Chanel isn’t doing herself any favors by having Belle take over and claims that she’s just trying to get to the truth. Allie argues that she doesn’t know anything and even if she did, she wouldn’t tell her. Allie declares that her girlfriend is not a murderer. Melinda calls that misplaced loyalty and argues that Chanel has been keeping a very big secret from her and everyone, but that’s all going to come out now.

Sonny tries to tell Alex to take it easy but Alex demands Leo tell him what he did and who he is working for. Alex tells him to admit what he did but Leo says he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Chad comes over and tells Alex to let him go as Stephanie adds that it’s okay, so Alex lets him go. Leo tells Sonny that he wasn’t being paranoid before. Stephanie asks Leo if Sloan came to Paulina’s office today. Leo admits that she did because he owes her some money but questions what his business with Sloan has to do with them. Chad responds that it doesn’t except when his business is stabbing their friends in the back.

Abe can’t believe Chanel has been carrying this burden around for so long and Paulina has too. Paulina apologizes for keeping this from him and asks him not to hate her for lying to him yet again. Abe assures that he could never hate her and he gets why she kept this hidden as it wasn’t her secret to tell. Paulina is surprised that he understands. Abe tells her that he will do everything he can to help her and Chanel. Paulina thanks him and hugs him.

Belle tells Chanel that Melinda is going to want to sit with her and ask a lot of tough questions, but she’ll be there with her to make sure she doesn’t say anything to hurt herself. Chanel thanks her. Belle brings up that Allie was surprised by her arrest and asks if it was a surprise to Chanel or if she saw it coming. Chanel responds that she thought it was all over and that Paulina was helping make it go away. Chanel explains that she had the file that Melinda now has. Belle questions what’s in the file. Chanel asks if she is supposed to tell her everything but Belle decides it’s probably better if she doesn’t give her the details since the police still have to show her what they have, so it’s probably better if she sees it without any preconceived notions. Chanel cries that if they have that file, then they have everything they need. Belle asks if Chanel has seen what’s in the file. Chanel confirms that Paulina showed her a copy. Belle reminds Chanel that in a court of law, it’s not always about the truth but about what they can prove is true.

Leo questions what documents and what it has to do with Chanel. Stephanie asks him to just tell them what happened when Sloan was in the office. Leo questions why this is important. Sonny tells Leo to just tell them everything. Leo argues that he already told them that Sloan showed up because she wanted money. Chad asks if he gave it to her. Leo says it wasn’t that simple and explains that he didn’t have any cash while Paulina promised him an advance and he wanted to get rid of Sloan. Stephanie and Alex question Leo opening Paulina’s safe in front of Sloan. Leo asks how else he was supposed to get the money out and notes that the combination was there, insisting that he closed it right back up but Alex says obviously not. Chad reveals that Sloan says Leo helped her which Leo denies. Chad asks if he turned his back for even a second but Leo says no. Leo then stops and comes to a realization, so Sonny tells him to answer the question. Leo then he admits he may have turned his back. Stephanie tells him to do better than that. Leo explains that he had to count the money and admits staying focused isn’t his strong suit. Alex then declares that Leo just destroyed his boss’s career and her daughter’s life.

Abe finishes a call and informs Paulina that most of the reporters have cleared out and advises her not to say anything for now. Paulina feels she needs to get to the police station. Abe suggests they call there and check in to see if Allie knows what’s going on. Paulina agrees that’s a good idea and calls Allie. Allie tells her that she’s at the police station and asks where she is. Paulina responds that she’s in her office, trying to avoid the press. Paulina asks how Chanel is and if she’s seen her. Allie says she hasn’t as she is in the interrogation room. Paulina worries about Chanel being all alone in there but Allie informs her that Belle is with her and taking the case which Paulina is thankful for. Paulina tells Allie to tell Chanel to hold on if she sees her, because she’s coming as she then hangs up.

Belle tells Chanel that for now, she just stays quiet and let her do all the talking. Belle gets a text from Allie, saying she’s outside the room and that Paulina is on her way. Chanel can’t believe this happened on her election night. Belle says they obviously planned it that way. Melinda returns to the room and reminds that she still has questions that need to be answered. Belle says that will have to wait as she still has to see the evidence. Melinda says if she wants to stall, that’s fine, but notes that it’s too late for arraignment and also too late for a bail hearing which means Chanel will be staying in lock up for the night. Shawn enters the room, so Melinda asks him to escort Chanel down to her quarters for the evening. Belle encourages that it will be okay as Shawn will keep her safe and she’ll have her out in the morning. Melinda reminds Shawn to handcuff Chanel before taking her out, since she is a murder suspect.

Leo questions that he really got Chanel in trouble. Sonny confirms that it looks bad. Leo complains that Alex seems to think he did it on purpose. Sonny asks if he did. Leo assures that he would never do anything to Paulina or Chanel and if Sloan stole something from the safe, she did it while he wasn’t looking. Leo asks if Sonny believes him. Sonny says God help him, but he does.

Paulina complains that she can’t stay here any longer and needs to be with her daughter. Abe agrees to do his best to shield her from the reporters and asks if she’s ready for this. Paulina responds that she has to be and they will get through this together. Abe opens the door to leave right as Sloan arrives.

Stephanie says now they know that Sloan used Leo to get the file. Alex questions if they are sure Leo isn’t working for Sloan. Chad admits they don’t know but should probably get started on this right away. Stephanie agrees and apologizes to Alex for having to go since her phone is going to explode if she doesn’t at least put out a statement and she needs to find Paulina. Alex understands. Stephanie assures they will do this again. Alex says he would like that a lot. Chad and Stephanie then exit.

Sloan congratulates Paulina and Abe on winning hard fought elections, but she wonders at what price. Paulina questions what she’s doing here. Abe asks if she came to gloat. Sloan tells Paulina that it would’ve been so much cheaper if Paulina just paid her what she asked, but now the whole world is going to know what Chanel did and how Paulina covered it up. Paulina calls Sloan a miserable, heartless cow and declares that she has to go see her daughter. Paulina and Abe then exit together.

Shawn brings Chanel out of the interrogation room followed by Belle and Melinda. Allie hugs Chanel and tells her she’s so sorry while Melinda orders Allie not to touch the prisoner. Belle argues that she’s not a prisoner. Melinda calls their contact inappropriate. Allie tells Chanel that she’s here for whatever she needs and she loves her. Melinda then orders Shawn to take her away. Allie hugs Belle as she cries.

Days of Our Lives Update

Doug and Julie sit together in the town square, talking about their productive day. Doug announces they have performed their civic duty and voted while Julie mentions they celebrated with a shopping spree. Doug says now they are here for lunch. Shawn approaches. Julie encourages him to vote now. Shawn responds that he will later but he’s actually here to see Julie. Shawn says this is awkward but he needs to look in her bag because she’s been accused of shoplifting.

Stephanie walks past the Brady Pub and sees a “Timmons For Governor” sign. Stephanie then grabs a nearby Vote for Paulina sign and goes to cover up the Timmons sign when Chad walks by and questions what she’s doing. Stephanie admits it was a bad impulse but explains that after she almost torpedoed Paulina’s whole campaign, she wants to do everything she can to make sure that she wins.

Abe joins Paulina in her office. Paulina admits she’s had butterflies all morning and is a nervous wreck. Abe encourages that she ran an excellent campaign and did it without any major missteps or scandals which he notes is pretty lucky. Paulina responds that he has no idea..

Alex teaches Sonny yoga at the Kiriakis Mansion. Sonny complains that he hates it while Alex urges him to stop being so negative. Sloan then walks in and remarks that being a dog comes natural to Alex as she kicks him over and calls him a sneaky son of a bitch.

Abe sees that has a pretty good lead on his opponent in the early results and asks about Paulina’s race. Paulina calls in Leo for an update, who reveals that current polls have her slightly ahead. Leo adds that he also checked her phone messages and there’s messages from her sister Tammy, Governor Mitchell, and three messages from Sloan Peterson.

Alex asks Sloan what’s going on. She tells him not to play dumb as she knows he took the file. Alex claims to not know what she’s talking about. Sloan argues that it had to be him since no one else has been in her apartment. Sloan screams at him, questioning why he would betray her like this when she thought they were friends.

Chad tells Stephanie not to worry about Paulina and encourages that she has this in the bag. Chad invites Stephanie to dinner to celebrate after Paulina wins. Stephanie says that’s really sweet but reveals that she already has plans to go out with Alex tonight.

Julie questions Shawn about someone accusing her of shoplifting. Shawn knows it’s crazy but says the cashier claims she left without paying and says he’ll just look in the bag to prove them wrong. Julie understands he’s just doing his job and tells him to go ahead. Shawn looks inside her bag at a fur coat as Julie instructs Doug to show the receipt but Doug reveals that he thought Julie paid for it.

Allie comes home to find Chanel cleaning up Henry’s toys. Allie tells Chanel about things at the Bakery going great and everyone having the rest of the day off to vote. Chanel mentions putting Henry to sleep a few minutes ago. Chanel tells Allie that Stephanie got upcoming questions in advance for media that she will have to do as Paulina’s daughter. Allie points out that she just realized Chanel is going to be a public figure, joking that her girlfriend is going to be famous. Chanel responds that her mom has to get elected first.

Abe questions Paulina as to why Sloan keeps pestering her. Paulina claims that Sloan asked her for a job and won’t take no for an answer. Abe says he has to check in with his campaign manager, so he will meet Paulina at the Pub after and they can go vote together. Abe exits as Paulina asks Leo what’s next on the agenda. Leo asks if she wants him to set up calls for those messages but Paulina says she will get to those later, except for the ones from Sloan as she can kick rocks.

Alex tells Sloan to calm down but she screams that she will not calm down when she has been lied to and betrayed. Sloan complains that she was so stupid as it was obviously when he blindfolded her and handcuffed her to the bed. Alex argues that she saw him leave her apartment. Sloan remembers his aunt happening to come to her house and guesses he passed the file off to her. Sonny questions Alex getting Maggie involved in this. Alex denies it and claims Sloan has it all wrong. Sloan insists that she’s right and tells Alex that she hopes it was worth it because he can say goodbye to the best sex he ever had as she storms out of the mansion.

Chad questions if Alex asked Stephanie out but she clarifies that she asked him which Chad calls a plot twist. Chad asks why she had a change of heart. Stephanie responds that Alex saved Paulina’s campaign and their jobs by taking that file from Sloan, so she wanted to show her gratitude. Stephanie asks if Chad disapproves. Chad thinks she could’ve just sent him a thank you card since taking him out to dinner will make Alex think that she’s interested in him and that he might have a shot. Stephanie then admits that maybe she is.

Allie looks over the questions Chanel has from the media and notes that some of them are very personal like asking about her role in Henry’s life or if she has plans to get married and have children of her own. Chanel blows it off that she wouldn’t give those answers to strangers. Allie then asks about giving the answers to her.

Leo complains to Paulina that Sloan is still harassing him and threatening to send in her enforcers if he doesn’t pay her legal fees. Paulina calls Sloan trash. Leo asks if there’s any way he could get an advance in pay to get Sloan off his back. Paulina says that no one deserves to be in Sloan’s clutches so she agrees to give him an advance. Leo thanks her and asks how soon he can get it. Paulina responds that she happens to have some extra cash in her safe and adds that there’s also something else in there that she needs to dispose of discretely. Leo offers to shred it for her but Paulina says she will handle it herself. Paulina opens her drawer to look for her safe combination but gets an alert that it’s time for her interview, so she tells Leo they will have to do this later. Paulina gives him her word that she will not forget because no one deserves to ever have to be tethered to Sloan.

Sonny asks Alex if Sloan was telling the truth about him stealing from her. Alex says he wouldn’t call it stealing but admits he took the file. Sonny asks what was in it. Alex admits he has no clue. Sonny argues that it makes no sense that he stole something without even knowing what was in it. Alex asks Sonny to keep this between them as he reveals that Stephanie asked him to see the file. Sonny asks why but Alex says the less he knows, the better. Alex adds that Stephanie seemed very grateful. Sonny questions Alex committing a crime just to score points. Alex explains that Stephanie was scared and upset and he hated seeing her like that but admits the side benefit is that she does seem a bit warmer towards him and that she asked him out to dinner tonight. Sonny asks if this is a date then but Alex is not so sure about that.

Chad questions Stephanie about if this is a date then. Stephanie clarifies that she has come to realize that Alex isn’t the jerk that she thought he was since he tainted his relationship with Sloan just to help her out. Chad points out that doesn’t answer his question. Stephanie states that she has changed her opinion of Alex but clarifies that she isn’t considering this a date but just that she has an open mind. Chad bets Alex is thrilled. Stephanie points out that Alex would have Chad to thank for it. Chad questions what he did. Stephanie explains that after her ex, she shut down emotionally and wasn’t going to let anyone hurt her like that again but after spending time with Chad and getting to know him better, she decided to put herself out there again. Stephanie adds that it’s because Chad isn’t interested. Chad stops her and questions who said he wasn’t interested. Stephanie responds that he did.

Shawn walks Julie back through the town square after fixing things at the shop. Julie is mortified that the shopkeeper thought she shoplifted intentionally. Doug jokes that it wouldn’t be the first time. Julie brings up an incident that Doug was referring to back when she was a teenager. Shawn assures he’s not judging her. Julie talks about how it was a similar item back then and they threatened to book her when Tom and Mickey came to her rescue as she flashes back to that time. Doug points out that it was over 50 years ago. Julie confirms that was 57 years ago to this very day.

Allie tells Chanel to start with the marriage question. Chanel says considering what happened with Johnny and her, she’s in no rush to tie the knot anytime soon but that doesn’t mean she can’t see them getting married eventually. Allie agrees and says she loves being with her while they both acknowledge they’ve only been dating for three months so they are cool with taking things slowly. Allie then asks Chanel about children. Chanel says she loves helping her raise Henry but asks if Allie wants more children. Allie says as bad as things got between her and Johnny growing up, the good times made up for it, so she thinks having a sibling can be really good for a kid. Chanel admits it can be lonely as an only child and she can only imagine what it would’ve been like to grow up with Lani, so she is open to the idea of more kids. Allie jokes how a couple years ago they were partying their way through London without a care in the world and now they are talking about their future like adults. Chanel responds that she wouldn’t have it any other way as they kiss.

Chad asks Stephanie when he said he wasn’t interested. Stephanie reveals that she happened to walk in when he made it pretty clear to Alex that there would never be anything between them. Chad says he didn’t realize and apologizes. Stephanie tells him that she likes knowing where things stand. Chad argues that he needs to explain that Alex accused him of having feelings for her and it made him feel uncomfortable and he didn’t know how to respond, so he just blurted that out. Stephanie asks if he’s saying he didn’t mean what he said.

Alex explains to Sonny that Stephanie said she wanted to thank him for helping her out but says if nothing else, at least now she doesn’t think he’s complete scum and maybe she’ll give them a chance. Sonny reminds him not to push it. Alex knows he has to play it cool and admits he shouldn’t have hounded her before and should’ve backed off. Alex says maybe now, the universe has intervened to bring them closer together. Sonny is glad that Stephanie is finally giving him a chance. Alex thanks him and assures he’s not going to blow it this time.

Sloan goes to Paulina’s office and tells Leo that she’s here to see Paulina since she’s not returning her calls. Leo informs her that Paulina is not there and assures her that he’ll have her money soon. Leo swears he’ll have it tomorrow but Sloan says that doesn’t work for her. Sloan guesses she’ll just have to send her associates and warns that they can be there in ten minutes. Leo then decides he can get her money now and finds Paulina’s safe combination in her drawer. Leo then opens the safe and removes a briefcase, noting that he’s sure Paulina wouldn’t mind him taking care of it himself. Sloan then looks over in to the safe and sees the file that Alex stole from her and smiles…

Shawn joins Doug and Julie for lunch. Abe arrives and greets them. Julie presumes he’s on his way to being re-elected as mayor. Abe admits it’s looking pretty good but it’s not over yet and adds that he may not have the job for very long. Abe announces that if Paulina wins her election, he will be stepping down as Mayor and moving to the capitol with her. Doug calls that quite a gesture. Paulina then joins them. Julie mentions that they just heard the news that Paulina may be taking Abe away. Paulina says maybe not as she just heard some very troubling news.

Sonny goes back to doing yoga until Leo walks in and startles him. Sonny questions what he’s doing here. Leo tells him to get dressed because he’s here to take him to dinner to celebrate his new job. Sonny didn’t think he was serious about that. Leo adds that they can also celebrate Sonny for keeping him out of prison and tells Sonny to let him take him out for a night on the town. Leo promises that he won’t regret it.

Chad tells Stephanie that there’s obviously an attraction between them and part of him thinks it would be really nice to pursue that and to see where it goes. Stephanie asks about the other part that he’s obviously listening to. Chad admits he’s still grieving Abigail, so he’s not ready to start seeing anyone in a serious way and he doesn’t know when or if he ever will be. Chad says he may have overstated things to Alex, he doesn’t want her to sit around, waiting and hoping. Stephanie appreciates his honesty. Chad is really glad that she wants to start dating again though, even if Alex wouldn’t be his first choice, but he supports her because that’s what friends do. They then decide to get to work.

Julie asks Paulina about the troubling news. Paulina responds that she may be overreacting but the owner of the Salem Inn said she didn’t vote for her and that a lot of the other local business owners didn’t either because apparently they are still angry about the whole Price Town business and are claiming that she’s just a shill for big business. Paulina worries that it could really hurt her chances. Stephanie and Chad approach. Stephanie tells Paulina that she anticipated something like this, so she already has a rebuttal and just needs her approval. Shawn asks if there’s anything else they can do to help. Stephanie encourages them to go vote.

Later that night….

Paulina, Abe, Stephanie, Chad, Allie, Chanel, and Leo are all at Paulina’s office. Paulina finishes a call with Lani and hands the phone over to Abe, who talks about it being a big day. Paulina asks Stephanie about the damage control. Stephanie thinks they were able to turn things around for the voters. Paulina remarks that Abe was just congratulating her on avoiding any missteps. Chad thinks Price Town ranks pretty low compared to some of the other things in Salem. Abe announces that they just called the race and he won as everyone cheers.

Alex gets dressed at the Kiriakis Mansion when Sonny comes in also dressed up. Alex questions where he’s going. Sonny admits that he’s going out to dinner with Leo Stark. Alex is shocked and questions why. Sonny complains that he’s been cooped up in the house ever since getting out of the hospital and decided he needed a night out, even if it is with Leo. Alex asks how Will feels about him going to dinner with another man. Sonny argues that it’s not another man, it’s Leo Stark. Alex reminds him that Leo is his ex-husband. Sonny argues that Leo just wants to thank him for clearing him of the murder and to celebrate his new job. Alex points out that celebrating is festive which is more than just a friendly dinner to him. Sonny disagrees and insists that it’s just a meal and a much needed change of scenery for him and he’s not looking for romance. Sonny tells Alex not to compare him going out with Stephanie to he and Leo. Alex hopes that by the end of the night, he will have swept Stephanie off her feet.

Stephanie watches the polls and worries that they might not have a definitive answer tonight. Stephanie then stops and says they are calling it. Stephanie announces that Paulina won and they all celebrate.

Abe and Paulina head to the town square for their speech. Abe says he is honored that the people of Salem have continued to support him and find him worthy of serving another term as mayor. Abe then announces he regrets to inform them that he intends to step down and hand the reigns to his very capable deputy mayor. Abe clarifies that he does not make this decision lightly but his wife Paulina Price has just been elected their new Governor. Chad, Stephanie, Leo, Allie, and Chanel all applaud with the audience. Abe believes it’s his duty to support Paulina to the best of his abilities, so he will be moving with her to the state capitol. Abe adds that it will be his pleasure to turn the microphone over to Paulina. Paulina thanks them for the warm welcome and talks about how blessed she feels to be taking on such an important role. Paulina adds that she wouldn’t have been here without her support team, starting with her incredible campaign staff and her amazing husband, Abe and her wonderful daughters, Lani and Chanel. Paulina brings Chanel up to the podium with her and declares that there is nothing more important than family.

Julie goes home and looks at her family photos along the fireplace mantle. Doug calls her over to the couch with a cake to jokingly wish a happy 57th anniversary to her life of crime as they kiss.

Paulina talks about fighting heart and soul when she commits to something, so she looks forward to dedicating her heart and soul to the good people of this state. Sonny arrives and congratulates Leo. Leo can’t believe he is now the executive director to the Governor of the State, joking that it makes him an A list gay and that means they can book a table as Leo takes Sonny and they walk away. Alex arrives to take Stephanie out. Stephanie goes over to Chad and tells him that Paulina just gave her the rest of the night off so that means Chad is free. Chad says he’s glad he could help. Alex tells Stephanie that they are just in time for their reservation at the Bistro. Stephanie thanks Chad again for his help, noting that she couldn’t even have done it without him. Stephanie then walks off with Alex.

Sloan sits in the Brady Pub, having a drink as she reads an article about Paulina winning the election. Sloan remarks that Paulina can enjoy her victory while she can.

Paulina calls this one of the best days of her life. Abe feels the same. Chanel says they are about to have a great celebration with champagne. Shawn then comes over. Paulina asks if something is wrong. Shawn reveals that he needs Chanel to come to the police station with him because he has a warrant for her arrest. Allie asks if this is some kind of joke but Shawn confirms it is not. Shawn then reveals that Chanel is under arrest for suspicion of murder and handcuffs her, shocking Paulina, Allie, and Abe.

At DiMera Enterprises, Stefan kisses Chloe until she pulls away and says maybe they shouldn’t do this, bringing up that she knows she’s not over Brady so she feels it’s unfair to Stefan. Stefan asks what about being fair to herself. Stefan reminds Chloe that Brady has already moved on with his life and is back together with Kristen. Chloe argues that he’s not back with Kristen. Stefan points out that Brady chose to move Kristen back in to his home and declares that Brady isn’t wasting any time going after what he wants, so he questions why Chloe should.

Wendy tells Johnny that she still can’t wrap her head around how Dr. Rolf could brainwash Stefan in to being in love with Chloe and just forgetting about Gabi. Johnny says it’s what Dr. Rolf does as a mad scientist. Wendy says she’s big on science and guesses she’s also a hopeless romantic so she finds it crazy that someone could manipulate someone’s feelings like that. Johnny calls it no more crazy than Stefan rising from the dead after four years. Wendy declares that if they can find Ned Granger, maybe he can lead them to Dr. Rolf. Johnny adds that then Dr. Rolf can tell them if EJ and Li messed with Stefan’s head. Wendy responds that if they did, Johnny would have his payback for what EJ did to Ava.

In the DiMera Crypt Ava’s vision of Charlie encourages her to keep her eye on the prize and that she’s going to get revenge on EJ DiMera. Ava agrees that EJ deserves to pay for thinking he could banish her from Salem. Ava declares that if all goes according to plan, Xander should be grabbing EJ’s mother right now.

Anna and Tony return home to the DiMera Mansion from Zurick. Anna complains about the flight and orders Tony to fire the pilot. They decide they need a drink and head in to the living room where Anna is shocked to find the crystal heart trinket that Tony got her for her birthday is smashed on the floor. Tony says he will replace it but Anna calls it a one of a kind item so there can never be another.

Xander drags Susan out of the DiMera Mansion.

Ava and her vision of Charlie joke in the Crypt about how EJ is going to be freaking out when he can’t find his mom. Charlie remarks that he can’t wait until EJ finds out that Ava was behind the kidnapping. Ava then immediately stops laughing and questions what the hell he’s talking about. Ava states that EJ can never find out it was her. Charlie asks why the hell not.

Stefan apologizes to Chloe and says he doesn’t mean to push. Chloe says it’s okay as he asked a valid question. Chloe asks what she is doing since she and Brady are over and he’s clearly moved on. Chloe declares that she thinks she is ready to move on as well. Chloe then reminds Stefan that they worked together and she just got a promotion. Stefan points out that he didn’t promote her and he’s not her boss so they are two employees of equal stature and if they start dating, they just have to let HR know first. Stefan declares that he’s ready to go public with how he feels and asks if Chloe is.

Wendy asks Johnny how they can find Ned Granger. Johnny brings up that Tony used to fly with him all the time, so he thinks Tony could point them in the right direction. Wendy questions calling Tony and worries that he could tell EJ what they are up to. Johnny admits that Tony did vote for EJ to become CEO again and that if EJ did something to Stefan, Tony could already know about it or even be in on it. Wendy asks if Tony flew with Ned alone. Johnny brings up Anna being with him, so Wendy points out that Anna would definitely know Ned too. Johnny acknowledges that Anna also has a soft spot for him.

Anna cries to Tony that the gift meant so much to her. Tony offers to call the artist to see if he can do anything about it. EJ walks in and announces that dinner will be ready shortly. Anna informs him that she lost her appetite after the horrible flight and then coming home to find her crystal heart shattered. Tony encourages that they will find a way to get it fixed. Tony asks what is for dinner. EJ informs him that Susan asked cook to prepare catfish nuggets. Tony asks if Susan is joining them. EJ says he thought so but she seems to have disappeared. EJ asks if Anna or Tony know where Susan has gone.

Ava gets a text from Xander that it’s done. Charlie tells Ava that now she can call EJ to make him beg to get his mother back. Ava repeats that EJ can never find out that she’s behind this because if he does, she will be on the run for the rest of her life and she will never see Tripp again. Charlie gets upset and asks so what. Ava asks what he means because she needs Tripp in her life. Ava calls Tripp her son who is alive and he needs her close to him which is why he asked her to move to Seattle. Charlie argues that Tripp did that out of pity and that the Johnsons are Tripp’s family now. Charlie declares that Ava has nothing and no one, except him. Ava asks what about her grandson, Henry. Ava doesn’t think she could handle never seeing Henry again. Charlie tells her that she won’t have to then because they’ll take his son with them.

Sarah goes to the Kiriakis Mansion and returns Maggie’s check to her, saying that she and Xander can not accept her money. Maggie didn’t think Sarah was going to tell Xander about it. Sarah explains that it fell out of her planner when Xander used it to kill a roach. Maggie offers cash instead but Sarah says she can’t because Xander was really hurt when he found out she accepted the money because he thought it meant she didn’t believe in him. Sarah insists they will be fine. Maggie argues that Xander is struggling and there is no shame in accepting help. Maggie asks Sarah to let her take some of the weight off Xander’s shoulders…

Xander brings Susan’s unconscious body in to the Kiriakis summer shed and confirms that she’s still alive.

EJ mentions going to check on dinner and he can’t imagine where Susan went off to. Tony praises the catfish nuggets. Anna then gets a call from Johnny, who says he needs her help with something but Tony and EJ can’t know about it. Anna questions why. Johnny informs her that he’s at Allie’s place and asks her to come now because he really needs her and he knows his favorite aunt will come through for him. Anna says she’ll be there as soon as she can and hangs up. Tony asks who was on the phone. Anna claims it was the artist who made the sculpture as she texted him and he called her right away. Tony asks if he can fix it. Anna says he doesn’t know as he’ll have to see it and told her to come over. Anna asks if he minds. Tony says not at all since he knows how important it is to her. EJ asks if he should put a hold on dinner then. Anna tells them to just eat without her as she’s still a little queasy from the flight so she will wait to eat. Anna adds that she hopes EJ’s mother shows up soon as she exits.

Xander talks about bad memories of working as Victor’s gardener in the shed and now he’s ended up back here to try to change his fortunes. Xander says he’s sorry Susan had to get mixed up in this and when she wakes up, it will all seem like a bad dream. Susan then begins to wake up.

Sarah informs Maggie that Xander is at a second interview for a job that he says could be very lucrative. Maggie says that’s wonderful and asks what the job is. Sarah admits that he didn’t say. Maggie says she adores Xander but given his history, she asks if Sarah is concerned that he left her in the dark.

Xander ties Susan up to a chair as she wakes up. Xander then puts a sack over her head. Susan wakes up and begins to panic about being blind and paralyzed as she can’t see or move. Susan complains that she can’t breathe and needs the sack off of her head.

EJ calls Susan but it goes to voicemail. Tony encourages EJ not to worry since Susan hasn’t been gone that long and maybe she just went for a walk. EJ supposes it’s possible and suggests they take the time to talk to get his mind off Susan. EJ adds that there is something important he wants to talk to him about regarding their brother, Stefan.

Ava questions Charlie wanting her to take Henry and rip him away from his mother. Charlie reminds her that he is Henry’s father and he would be safe, loved, and cherished. He urges Ava not to lose her edge and reminds her how good it feels to be bad. Charlie asks when the world has been fair to Ava. Charlie states that everyone is always getting what they want while Ava is always left in the dust. Charlie brings up EJ threatening to throw her in prison if she didn’t disappear and questions her wanting to show mercy by giving him Susan back right away or letting someone anonymous take credit. Charlie insists that Ava needs to show EJ the hurt that happens when she is messed with. Ava then decides Charlie is right and declares that EJ needs to pay and he will know that she was behind it. Charlie urges her to unleash the hate so that EJ gets what he deserves and in the end, she will get revenge and enough money that they can take Henry and disappear where they will never find them. Charlie tells Ava that he and Henry are the only family she needs.

Anna goes to see Johnny, who introduces her to Wendy. Anna asks what the big secret that he is keeping from Tony and EJ. Johnny explains that they think that EJ and Li may have ordered Dr. Rolf to brainwash Stefan to make him think he hates Gabi and loves Chloe which Anna questions.

Chloe tells Stefan that she’s not afraid to go public and isn’t afraid of being judged as she doesn’t care what people think. Chloe questions if this is how Stefan really feels as she’s been wondering if these feelings for her are genuine or if someone else put them there. Stefan questions her hearing the rumors. Chloe responds that she knows that Gabi thought Dr. Rolf brainwashed her and that what he’s feeling now is something Rolf programmed in to his head. Stefan admits the possibility crossed his mind but Gabi went to ask Dr. Rolf if he did anything to his brain and he said no. Stefan adds that Gabi believes that Dr. Rolf’s hands are clean and so does he.

Tony questions EJ having Dr. Rolf brainwash Stefan. EJ clarifies that Li Shin did it and Kristen went along for the ride. Tony notes that EJ apparently did too and questions him expecting him to support him in this. Tony understands he has to be ruthless and calculating to get ahead in business. EJ argues that they both know Stefan is better off without Gabi. Tony argues that it’s not his call to make. EJ notes Tony’s disapproval but declares that what’s done is done. EJ stops Tony and tells him that he can’t tell anyone about this including Anna.

Anna questions Johnny thinking EJ did this to take back control of the family business. Wendy adds that Li would also benefit from Stefan not having feelings for Gabi. Johnny notes that it’s possibly Tony is involved too since he’s tight with EJ but Anna assures that Tony could never keep a secret from her. Anna asks why she’s here since Johnny said he needed something. Wendy explains that Dr. Rolf is missing and they think Li used a former DiMera pilot to fly him to an undisclosed location. Johnny adds that if they can find the pilot, they can find Dr. Rolf to confront him and they think it might be Ned Granger. Anna remembers Ned being the lowlife that helped Gwen and Ava kidnap Abigail. Johnny says that’s why it makes sense that he’d be involved and they just need help finding him. Anna brings up Stefano going to great lengths to keep her and Tony apart, so if his sons are doing the same, it needs to be stopped. Anna then agrees to reach out to Ned. Wendy wonders if Ned will talk. Anna assures that she can count on it.

Sarah tells Maggie not to insinuate that Xander’s job must be something shady because he didn’t give her the specifics. Maggie brings up that Sarah said herself that Xander brought up diamond smuggling as a possibility. Sarah admits that she thought it was strange that Xander wouldn’t give her the details so she asked if she should be worried, but he said he’s a changed man. Maggie relates it to Victor and responds that old ways are really tough to shake. Sarah says that’s where they come in and remind their men of everything they’d have to lose. Maggie says she loves Xander and believes he wants to stay on the right path but proving he can provide for them and getting them out of the motel is a lot of pressure. Sarah asks Maggie not to worry and promises that Xander is only interested in honest work. Maggie suggests Sarah call Xander then and ask him how his second interview went.

Xander removes the sack from Susan’s head and she says she feels much better. She then looks up to see Xander is wearing her clown mask from Halloween and declares that she’s been abducted by an evil clown.

Anna calls Ned and says she understands his clients rely on his discretion but this is a matter of utmost urgency as she needs to locate Dr. Rolf right away. Ned asks why it’s so urgent. Anna claims that it’s for Tony as he was sick and now he’s dead, so if anyone can bring him back, she knows it’s Dr. Rolf but they are running out of time. Anna mentions still being upset with Ned over what he did to Abigail but she understands that he eventually did the right thing by telling Tony and Chad where she was, so now she needs him to do the right thing by telling her where he flew Dr. Rolf. Anna thanks him and says she’s so grateful as she hangs up. Anna then reveals to Johnny and Wendy that Dr. Rolf is in Jakarta.

Stefan asks if Chloe is still worried that Dr. Rolf put these feelings in his head. Chloe knows it’s a buzzkill but says she just doesn’t know what to think right now. Stefan acknowledges being confused about a lot of things since coming back but one thing he hasn’t been confused about is her. Stefan knows he hurt her when he cheated on her with Gabi and he’s sorry, but he’s over her and they just filed for divorce. Stefan says that Gabi is moving ahead with Li while he has a second chance at life and love, so he wants Chloe to take that chance with him. Stefan wants to make Chloe forget about Brady and suggests they leave town tonight and go anywhere she wants to go. Chloe admits that sounds exciting but reminds him that she just started a new job and can’t just take off. Stefan argues that they can make it a business trip since they have offices all over the world. Stefan assures they won’t put anybody’s job at risk. Stefan pleads with Chloe to follow her heart and say yes. Chloe then says yes which excites Stefan. Stefan tells her to pack her bags and he will prepare the DiMera Jet then they will be on their way.

EJ encourages Tony that it’s possible Stefan already had doubts about Gabi and feelings for Chloe and that Dr. Rolf just intensified them. Tony argues that it doesn’t give anyone the right to decide who should love whom. EJ argues that it’s not just about love but about legacy. EJ says that Gabi was destroying Stefano’s company when they have an obligation to protect it and if a few peoples’ feelings get hurt along the way, so be it. EJ asks if he’s right or wrong. Tony responds that he’s conflicted which EJ calls progress.

Susan thought she loved clowns but decides they are scary. Xander explains that he’s not a real clown and he found the mask in her bag. Susan calls him a thief and says she doesn’t want it back because as soon as she put it on, she had a premonition that someone was out to get EJ. Susan asks if that’s what this is about. Susan’s phone rings so she tells him that he can answer it if he wants but Xander ignores the call. She questions why he didn’t answer. Xander responds that he’s busy. Susan threatens to scream if he touches her. Xander responds that no one will hear her because she’s in a very special soundproof room. Xander says he’s going to step out for a moment and warns her to behave herself. After Xander exits, Susan remarks that it looks like a regular old summer garden shed.

Ava talks to Jake’s plaque in the DiMera Crypt about opening her heart to him and how maybe things would be different if he were here, but he’s gone. Ava declares that now she has to do what she has to do. Ava then gets a call from Xander and asks if he has Susan. Xander confirms that he does and asks when they get the ransom money. Ava responds that they will get it when she decides. Xander declares that he’s done babysitting Susan and demands that Ava call EJ and get their money now.

After Anna leaves, Johnny tells Wendy that it looks like they are headed to Jakarta and finds out that the first flight out isn’t until tomorrow at noon. Wendy looks on her laptop and points out that the DiMera Jet is available. Johnny worries that if someone tries to use it while they’re gone, then they will know where they are. Wendy reveals that she just switched the plane’s status to unavailable so Johnny declares they are heading to Jakarta.

Stefan makes a call and is told that the DiMera Jet is being serviced so he decides he can just book them two first class plane tickets but Chloe takes it as a sign they should slow things down. Chloe knows she said she wanted to go and she feels bad for suddenly changing her mind but she couldn’t help but feel ambivalent about moving so quickly. Chloe apologizes and hopes he understands. Stefan assures that they will go as fast or as slow as she wants.

Xander puts the clown mask back on and returns to the shed. Susan demands to be let go but Xander says he can’t do that. Susan questions what he wants and who he is. Xander responds that he’s just an evil clown doing his job.

Sarah tries calling Xander but he doesn’t answer which she takes as a good sign. Maggie invites Sarah to stay for dinner and if Xander gets the job, they can celebrate. Sarah points out that Xander won’t be breaking bread with Victor anytime soon but soon they will be able to show everyone that they are doing great back on their feet as Xander will get this job and be making the big bucks soon..

Susan calls Xander a sad clown instead of an evil clown because she can read people and she can just tell that he doesn’t want to be doing this. Xander responds that all that matters is that her son cooperates. Xander declares that as long as EJ does what he’s told, nobody is going to get hurt.

EJ searches the DiMera Mansion for Susan, wondering where she could have gone. EJ then gets a call from Ava, who asks if he’s wondering where his mother is. EJ questions what she did to her. Ava tells him to relax as she’s fine and being well taken care of for the moment. EJ warns Ava not to hurt Susan. Ava responds that she is calling the shots now because she has his mother and if he does exactly what she tells him, then maybe she will return her to him in one piece.

Sarah searches her motel room for more roaches and ends up tossing the can of bug spray across the room right as Xander comes home.

Kristen puts a photo of her and Brady on the mantle at John and Marlena’s. Brady walks in and accuses her of being behind Chloe quitting her job at Basic Black to go to DiMera Headquarters.

Stefan walks in to the DiMera office as Wendy finishes her phone call with Johnny. Wendy says she didn’t hear him come in. Stefan responds that he heard her say his name and questions who she is. Wendy introduces herself as Li’s sister and says it’s nice to meet him. Stefan questions who she was talking to about him and why.

At the DiMera Mansion, Susan tells EJ that Johnny told her something that he didn’t want her to tell him and claims she is the most honest person and she doesn’t like to keep secrets between them so she’s going to tell EJ what Johnny said. Johnny tells her to go ahead and get it over with. Susan claims that Johnny is just sick from everything that has been going on the past week. Susan blames it on Johnny missing Ava.

Ava hides out in the DiMera Crypt with a bag, rope, a gun, chloroform and a rag. Ava puts the rope in to the bag and then gets a text from Tripp, asking if she’s sure she doesn’t want to come to Seattle. Tripp then sends another text saying he’s worried about her and asks where she’s staying and if she has enough money. Ava ignores it and puts the towel and bottle in the bag, then gets a third text from Tripp, pointing out that she said there was nothing left for her in Salem, so he doesn’t get why she’s still there. Ava then picks up the gun when she gets another text from Tripp, saying he hopes that she’s not doing something she’s going to regret. Ava holds the gun in one hand and her phone in the other as Tripp sends another text, offering to buy her a plane ticket to Seattle. Ava then puts the gun down and starts to respond to Tripp, but her dead son Charlie reappears and tells her to not even think about it.

Xander tells Sarah that he’ll get some more roach spray when he goes out and hopes it will be the last can they need. Sarah asks if that means the job interview went well. Xander responds that he did connect with one prospect that seems promising which excites Sarah, who says she can’t wait to hear all about it.

Kristen claims to Brady that she doesn’t keep up with Chloe anymore. Brady questions her having no idea that Li offered Chloe a job at DiMera. Kristen claims she doesn’t and questions if he thinks Li is lying to him. Brady says he feels when Chloe has a sudden change, that Kristen orchestrated it. Kristen claims to barely know Li Shin and questions why he would take orders from her. Kristen says that Li reports to EJ and EJ fired her. Brady questions her expecting him to believe that she just stopped pulling the strings because she’s living here now. Brady argues that Kristen is the only one that benefits from Chloe quitting Basic Black. Kristen suggests that Chloe could have decided a job at DiMera was a step up and suggests Brady could be supportive. Brady remarks that he’s surprised Li would offer Chloe any sort of position since her personnel file would be full of bad reviews from Kristen. Kristen says maybe Li doesn’t care about her opinion or he thought that Chloe would do a better job if she wasn’t so distracted by Brady. Brady remarks that he moved Kristen in but he hasn’t moved on because he loves Chloe more than he ever has. Kristen comments that he’ll get some perspective now. Kristen claims she didn’t get Chloe the job, but she does think it’s a very positive change for all three of them.

Stefan questions Wendy again as to why she said his name. Wendy claims that she was updating their electronic records and his file jumped out at her as problematic because according to their HR records, he is dead. Stefan says he’s been running in to that a lot lately. Wendy asks what it feels like to be him and says it must be weird to wake up and suddenly realized you missed four years of your life. Stefan responds that it’s good to be alive but admits that it hasn’t been easy. Wendy says she can imagine since his wife has his job and is engaged to her brother. Stefan responds that Gabi doesn’t have that job anymore and as far as he’s concerned, Li can have her. Wendy calls Gabi interesting to her and says it’s impressive that she has a prison record but became CEO of DiMera. Wendy guesses Gabi must be really smart and notes that she’s also beautiful. Stefan admits that Gabi used to impress him too, but not anymore. Stefan adds that he kind of hates to think about their time together. Wendy states that she would hate to see her brother get hurt. Wendy asks if Stefan would mind telling her what happened to make him hate her. Wendy points out that he must have loved Gabi once and asks if he’s sure he will never love her again.

EJ questions Johnny telling Susan that he still has feelings for Ava. Johnny claims he didn’t realize it until he was talking to Susan about it as she has a way of knowing things you don’t want to admit. Susan tells EJ that he should know by now that not much gets past her. Johnny knows he told EJ that he was over it and that Ava lying about her marriage to Jake was low. EJ points out that it was also illegal. EJ calls Ava a master manipulator and talks about how Ava and Gabi cooked up this phony marriage after Jake died. EJ adds that Ava made Johnny an ally with her sad story about her dead husband. EJ encourages Johnny that being taken in by a woman doesn’t make him weak, it makes him human. Susan adds that Johnny will get over it. EJ agrees and declares that Ava will never step foot in this town again.

Ava questions what her vision of Charlie is doing here. Charlie questions her about Tripp still wanting her to move in with him and says that’s not the life she wants. Ava responds that she misses her son. Charlie argues that he’s her son too and he’s right here. Charlie asks if Ava wants her revenge against EJ. Charlie orders Ava to put the gun in the bag and stop thinking about wimping out. Ava responds that she’s not sure she can.

Xander tells Sarah that he would hate to jinx the job by talking about it before it’s a sure thing. Sarah asks if he can’t tell her anything about it. Xander responds that it makes good use of some of his skills and it could pay really well. Sarah asks if she shouldn’t be worried about him not telling her the details. Xander insists he’s a changed man. They then get interrupted by another roach. Xander grabs Sarah’s planner book to smash it and when he does, it pops open, revealing the check that Maggie gave Sarah. Xander questions why Maggie wrote her a check.

Stefan tells Wendy that he doesn’t even know her but she’s asking him to talk about something so personal. Wendy hoped he could put her mind at ease about her brother getting hurt. Wendy mentions hearing that Stefan and Gabi were really in love, so she questions what made him change his mind about her. Stefan admits that he doesn’t remember. They sit together as Stefan assumes that she’s heard all the rumors about how and why he’s back. Wendy mentions Dr. Rolf. Stefan jokes that people don’t seem to die in his family and it’s more like they get deactivated and put in cold storage until they’re useful again. Stefan adds that Gabi was convinced that Dr. Rolf did something to erase his feelings for her, but Rolf swears that he did no such thing and Gabi bought it, so that works for him and he guesses he stopped loving her on his own. Wendy admits she’s not reassured. Stefan tells Wendy that Gabi is his past and he’s very much looking forward to his future. Wendy asks if there’s someone else. Stefan says he might say that. Chloe then walks in and Stefan declares there she is.

Brady states that he broke up with Chloe and let Kristen move in because if he hadn’t, she would’ve let Marlena, Kate, and Kayla die. Brady says that’s the kind of woman she’s always going to be. Brady adds that Kristen can fix it so that Chloe changes jobs, but she’s not going to change the way he feels because he loves Chloe and always will. Kristen points out that he used to say those same words to her. Kristen blames Victor letting her believe that her little girl was dead. Brady reminds Kristen that whatever woman he loved before, he doesn’t know if she ever existed. Kristen warns Brady that she has the means to keep Marlena, Kate, and Kayla alive. Brady responds that it’s the only reason she’s living in this house. Kristen argues that Rachel likes them being a family and she wants them to be a happy one. Brady argues that’s never going to happen and questions her not understanding that. Kristen tells him that Chloe will be better off as she’s accepted reality even though he hasn’t. Kristen adds that now Brady can focus on them. Brady complains that Kristen blackmailed her way in to the house and he’s never going to change how he feels. Rachel then walks in and questions why they are fighting again.

EJ gets a call and steps out to answer it. Johnny then thanks Susan for not telling EJ what they were really talking about. Susan complains that she doesn’t like lying to her only son, but if he did do something terrible to his brother then she thinks the truth should come out. Johnny asks if Susan has any vibes about him being on the right track. Susan says the spirits only tell her what they want her to know. Susan hopes that EJ had nothing to do with the scrambling of Stefan’s brain. Susan reminds Johnny that he’s going to have to prove it in front of God and everyone else if he did.

Sarah informs Xander that Maggie came to see her this morning and offered a little money to hold them over. Xander reminds her that he told her he would get them out of this and asks if she has any faith in him. Sarah assures that she does and offers to tell Maggie no if he doesn’t want to take the money but Xander stops her.

Charlie questions Ava’s doubts. Ava brings up that Jake hated EJ so she’s sure he wouldn’t mind her going after him, but not like this. Ava notes that Susan was Jake’s aunt. Charlie insists nothing will happen to Susan and they will just hold her for a big ransom to hit EJ’s wallet. Charlie urges Ava to be her authentic self; an evil bitch. Charlie reminds Ava that she already hired Xander, so there’s no turning back now.

Stefan introduces Chloe to Wendy. Stefan asks Wendy to give them a minute so he can speak to Chloe in private, so Wendy exits. Stefan tells Chloe that he stopped by the Salem Inn to see her but she already left, so he asks what she’s doing here. Chloe reveals that Li offered her a job here and she accepted it which Stefan says is great and congratulates her. Chloe hopes it works out. Stefan admits he’s surprised since he thought she loved her job at Basic Black. Chloe responds that she does, but she can’t spend that much time with Brady anymore so she had to get out of that office.

Kristen claims to Rachel that she and Brady weren’t fighting. Rachel says it sounded like they were. Brady explains that sometimes adults just have to raise their voices when talking about important things. Rachel responds that she doesn’t like it and that it makes her tummy hurt. Rachel says it’s been hurting all day which Brady questions. Kristen checks her and notes she’s feeling kind of feverish. Kristen worries that it could be her appendix and says they should get her to the emergency room.

Xander apologizes to Sarah for being an ass. Xander says he loves Maggie but hates that she thinks he can’t take care of her. Sarah assures that Maggie was just trying to help. Xander declares that he won’t live off Maggie or Sarah but he’s just stressed about the job falling through like all the others. Sarah says she has a good feeling about it but asks if it’s anything illegal. Xander then gets a text from Ava, ordering him to meet her in the DiMera crypt now. Xander claims to Sarah that they want him back for a second interview. Sarah is excited for him and then rips up Maggie’s check to prove her faith in him. Sarah kisses Xander and tells him to go turn on the charm. Xander agrees to do his best.

Susan argues that Johnny can’t prove anything that didn’t happen. Johnny declares that if EJ did do something to Stefan, he’s going to find out what it was. Johnny then gets a text from Wendy, saying she has new info and tells him to meet her at Allie’s apartment. Johnny tells Susan that he might be onto something. Susan warns him to be careful as she is sensing some danger in the house. Johnny thanks Susan again for covering for him as he exits the mansion. EJ comes back in and asks where Johnny is. Susan responds that he had to go some place. EJ asks her if something is wrong. Susan states that somebody just knocked over someone else’s grave.

Ava tells her vision of Charlie that Xander is on his way. Charlie encourages that she’s doing the right thing.

EJ tells Susan that he’s sorry her premonitions have been worrying her. Susan says sometimes her gifts just feel like a heavy load. EJ adds that he knows when she’s not being honest with him. EJ questions if she and Johnny were really talking about Ava when he walked in on them with their heads together.

Johnny goes to see Wendy at Allie’s. Johnny tells her that first he has to tell her that Susan knows what they are doing. Johnny tells her not to worry since Susan doesn’t know anything about her and promised not to tell EJ anything. Wendy asks if he’s sure he can trust her. Johnny responds that Susan might be a little weird, but she doesn’t break a promise. Johnny asks Wendy what she got. Wendy responds that she talked to Stefan after he just walked in to the conference room and she got him talking about he and Gabi. Wendy informs Johnny that Stefan said he has no idea why he stopped loving Gabi. Johnny guesses Dr. Rolf did something to him. Wendy notes that Stefan said Gabi thought the same thing but that Dr. Rolf swore he didn’t. Johnny bets that they got rid of Rolf because Gabi started sniffing around. Wendy brings up that if Li flew Dr. Rolf out of town, he wouldn’t fly him commercial so it seemed logical that he would use the DiMera jet, but she found out that Li hasn’t booked the jet in months. Johnny asks if he came over just for her to tell him that they hit a dead end. Wendy says no and reveals that she also found out that Li requested a list of former DiMera pilots which seemed suspicious to her. Wendy then presents the list of pilots to Johnny and offers to start running background checks to see what they can find. Johnny takes a look and tells Wendy that he doesn’t think she’ll have to do that.

Brady feels Rachel is a little warm but doesn’t think she has a fever. Brady asks if she needs to throw up from too much Halloween candy. Brady suggests Rachel lie down on the couch for a bit and assures that she’ll be okay. Kristen brings up Rachel having a bone marrow transplant so she thinks she should get checked out. Brady asks if she’s questioning his parenting skills. Kristen insists that she’s not but doesn’t know what she would do if anything happened to Rachel. Brady notes that Rachel also gets motion sickness so he doesn’t want to put her in a car while she’s nauseous. Kristen wishes doctors made house calls. Brady brings up that Sarah Horton might. Kristen declares that if Sarah is willing to come, she would be forever in her debt.

Xander meets Ava in the DiMera crypt and comments on that being an interesting place to meet. Ava points out that Xander is on the DiMera property and Susan happens to be in the mansion right now. Xander questions if Ava is asking him to grab her tonight. Ava confirms that she’s asking him to grab Susan right now.

Stefan comments that Chloe doesn’t seem too happy about her new job. Chloe admits she’s kind of miserable about it. Stefan knows it must hurt but encourages that she’s doing the right thing. Chloe knows Brady cares about her and maybe even still loves her, but she doesn’t understand moving Kristen in and she never will. Stefan tells her that he’s so sorry. Chloe brings up all the plans that they made for their future and now she knows those plans will not happen, so she decided not seeing Brady was better than seeing him under these circumstances. Stefan is glad she’s taking care of herself. Chloe cries that she just wishes it didn’t hurt so much. Stefan encourages that things are going to get better as he hugs her.

Sarah goes to check on Rachel and encourages that she just needs more fruit and vegetables and less candy. Rachel complains that she likes candy but agrees to have less. Brady notes that Rachel’s also been under a lot of stress the last couple of months which Sarah notes can also cause a stomachache. Kristen states that situation has been taken care of and handled. Brady asks if there’s no emergency. Sarah confirms it’s not her appendix. Brady thanks Sarah for coming over. Sarah says she’s always happy to see Rachel. Sarah brings Rachel a pair of sunglasses with flashing lights which she says she loves. Sarah thinks she’ll be feeling better soon. Sarah encourages trying water and then moving on to tea and other drinks. Brady thanks Sarah. Sarah exits and Kristen steps out with her, offering to pay her for her time and trouble. Sarah responds that she was happy to do it for Brady and Rachel. Kristen knows it couldn’t have been easy. Sarah admits she likes taking care of Rachel and always will. Kristen asks Sarah to send her a bill, saying it’s the least she can do. Sarah asks if she means after kidnapping her and nearly ruining her life. Sarah responds that she doesn’t want her money. Kristen points out that Xander isn’t working. Sarah tells her that Xander has a job interview right now, so they are fine, as she then walks away.

Johnny points out the name Ned Granger as one he recognizes on the list of pilots as he did a lot of under the table work for his family and Kristen used him to kidnap two women. Wendy jokes that she thought her family was weird. Johnny feels he should’ve thought of Ned before. Wendy questions why he’s not in prison. Johnny explains that Chad made a deal with him to keep him out of prison in exchange for the information on where Abigail was. Johnny feels that Li and EJ would know they could bribe Ned so they would hire him to do it.

Susan doesn’t like EJ calling her a liar. EJ says that’s not what he’s doing but Johnny is quite good at convincing people to do what he wants. EJ suspects that Johnny is still angry at him regardless of what he says. EJ questions if Johnny asked Susan to choose sides between them. Susan insists that he didn’t and if he did, she wouldn’t do it because she loves them both and wants what’s best for them.

Xander complains that Ava can’t ask him to grab Susan right now as he doesn’t have a plan or know who is in the house. Ava responds that she made the plan and she knows who is in the house and how it operates. Ava declares that this has to happen now or someone is going to get cold feet. Xander argues that there has to be an easier way to get money out of EJ than kidnapping his mother under his nose. Xander asks her to find out when Susan leaves the house. Ava doesn’t know how long Susan plans to stay and points out that they could both use that ransom money sooner than later. Ava shows Xander the bag with everything he needs. Xander questions the chloroform. Ava tells him that he knows how to use it and tells him to just not get caught. Ava then instructs Xander to be kind and not hurt Susan since she is someone’s mother and grandmother. Xander hopes soon this will all be over.

Wendy asks Johnny if he thinks Ned Granger will lead them to Dr. Rolf. Johnny hopes so because if they can find Dr. Rolf, they’ll be able to prove that EJ and Li did brainwash Stefan.

Chloe tells Stefan that she can’t stop thinking about Brady and wishes she could forget about him for just a few minutes. Stefan suggests he can help with that as he then kisses Chloe.

Rachel mentions being sort of hungry which Brady and Kristen encourage is a good thing. Rachel comments that she’s glad they aren’t fighting anymore. Kristen assures her that they both love her very much. Brady tells Rachel that she’ll never have to worry about them. Kristen then puts her hand on Brady’s as they hug Rachel.

Ava’s vision of Charlie reappears and tells her to calm down, encouraging that if anyone knows how to pull off a kidnapping, it’s her. Charlie knows he never made Ava proud but says right now, she is his pride and joy.

Xander sneaks outside while Susan and EJ talk in the living room about having dinner. EJ heads to the kitchen while Xander sneaks in as Susan talks about danger. Xander then grabs Susan with the chloroformed rag over her face. Susan grabs a glass trinket off the table but drops it and it smashes on the floor as she passes out and Xander drags her away.

Eric questions Alex wanting him to model with Nicole. Alex doesn’t know why he didn’t think of it sooner. Alex says the energy in the photos Eric took of Nicole is one thing, but seeing it in person makes him feel the camera will eat it up. Nicole is not so sure but Alex says he is. Alex states that Brady was fine but the chemistry was lukewarm while Nicole and Eric will be blazing hot together.

Chloe brings up Brady saying that he still cares about her. Brady confirms that he does. Chloe says that moving Kristen in as soon as they break up was a funny way of showing it. Chloe notes that Brady said “if there was any other way” and questions what he was talking about. They get interrupted as Li arrives and says he’s glad he found them. Brady asks what’s going on and if there’s a problem at corporate. Li responds that it’s more like an opportunity and reveals that he came to speak to Chloe.

Gabi sits in the town square as a waitress from the bakery brings her wedding cake samples out. Gabi mentions that she will wait for Li but then Stefan approaches.

Wendy tells Johnny on the phone that she overheard Li telling Kristen that he shipped Dr. Rolf out of the country and she didn’t sound happy about it. Wendy adds that Kristen sounded convinced that Li was working with EJ so they are on the right track. Johnny guesses they just need to figure out where Li sent Dr. Rolf. Wendy wonders if she can find something in the papers that Li left but then EJ walks in to the office and questions if Wendy needs some help.

Stefan tells Gabi that he’s looking for Chloe as he’s hoping to take her to lunch. Stefan notes that she wasn’t at her room, so he’s assuming she’s at the office today. Gabi questions why he’s sharing this with her. Stefan asks Gabi about the wedding cakes.

Li tells Chloe that corporate has been very impressed by her work at Basic Black. Chloe says that’s nice to hear. Li adds that ever since she took over, sales and profits have taken over. Brady calls Chloe the best. Li reveals that they would like her to use that talent and expertise in a broader way, so he’s come to offer Chloe a job at DiMera. Li assures that they have a large pool of qualified applicants to fill Chloe’s role at Basic Black if she accepts his offer. Chloe says she wasn’t expecting this, so she doesn’t know what to say. Brady then asks Li if Kristen put him up to this.

EJ introduces himself to Wendy. Wendy responds that she knows who he is. Johnny questions EJ being there as Wendy hangs up. Wendy apologizes and introduces herself to EJ. EJ says he’s heard so much about her and hopes he wasn’t interrupting her conversation. Wendy says he wasn’t so EJ questions who she was talking to.

Li tells Brady that Kristen DiMera doesn’t order him to do anything. Brady argues that Kristen has been dying to get he and Chloe away from one another and although Chloe does deserve a promotion, this has Kristen written all over it and is her style. Li responds that even if that was the case, Kristen no longer has a position at the company. Chloe questions Kristen not working at DiMera anymore. Li reveals that EJ relieved Kristen of her duties, so he assures that they are offering Chloe this job on her own merit.

Alex asks Eric and Nicole if they are going to model for the cover. Nicole doesn’t think it’s such a good idea. Alex asks why not and brings up the photos Eric took of her. Alex remarks that when Eric and Nicole are together, it’s magic. Eric questions who would take the photos if he’s in front of the camera. Alex says he will as he has a ridiculously good eye. Nicole questions if he even has experience doing a photoshoot like this. Alex says he was an intern after college. Eric guesses he won’t want to spend money on a reshoot if this doesn’t work. Alex says this might not be the finished product and they can do test shots. Alex adds that if it works out like he thinks it will, they might have a whole campaign and calls it proof of concept. Alex tells Eric that first they have to get him in to wardrobe.

Chloe asks Li what exactly the job he’s offering her is. Alex comes out from the office and says he needs Brady. Brady responds that he’s been rethinking the modeling and he doesn’t want to be on the cover. Alex says that’s good because he’s replacing him and just has to get him out of the suit. Alex takes Brady and says he’ll explain on the way.

Gabi tells Stefan that these cake samples are for her wedding. Stefan thought the couples make the decision together. Gabi says that Li had something to take care of but he’ll be there any minute. Stefan remarks that sure he will. Gabi questions him not believing her. Stefan asks why she cares. Gabi calls it annoying and tells him to say what he needs to say. Stefan says he’s just curious what Li’s priorities are is all. Gabi tells him that Li understands they need to do this right away because they want to get married as soon as possible. Stefan questions the rush. Gabi responds that there’s no reason to wait now that Stefan’s feelings for her are buried and gone.

Wendy claims to EJ that she was just talking to a work friend on the phone from back home and hopes he doesn’t mind that she was making a personal call on company time. EJ says that’s fine and understands that employees have their own lives. EJ points out that it’s in the middle of the night in Hong Kong. Wendy reminds him that she was stationed in Alaska and she’s very happy to be here in DiMera HQ now. EJ understands why she’d be so eager to move on. EJ then reveals that he overheard that she’s curious about Li’s papers and asks if there’s something specific that she was looking for.

Johnny talks to the portrait of Stefano and admits he’s worried about EJ walking in on Wendy since EJ can be intimidating. Johnny knows Stefano wouldn’t approve of what he’s doing but if EJ and Li did something to Stefan, they shouldn’t get away with it. Johnny brings up Stefan carrying Stefano’s name and he always said that nothing is more important than family and family should never turn on each other. Susan walks in and says she couldn’t agree with him more. Johnny guesses she heard him talking to Stefano just now. Susan says there’s nothing to be ashamed of as she talks to plenty of her relations that have passed on. Susan tells Johnny there’s no reason not to talk to his granddad if it helps, but warns him not to listen to a word Stefano says because he was mean. Johnny points out that he doesn’t actually talk back. Susan compares it to the spirits talking to her. Johnny tells Susan that it’s nice to have her back in Salem as he missed her. Susan touches Johnny but then jumps back and says her bad connection just got cleared as the spirits just sent her a message loud and clear. Susan then questions if Johnny really is out to get EJ.

Wendy tells EJ that she wasn’t looking for anything specific in Li’s papers and says she’s just trying to drag him in to the 21st century. Wendy jokes about trying to get Li in to the digital age but he’s too loyal to their father to make that leap. EJ mentions hearing that Wei Shin likes the older way of doing things. Wendy says she’s given up on trying to change his ways and talks about how Li is his father’s son in many ways. EJ guesses Wendy is trying to help Li get more organized. Wendy jokes that it’s one of her first missions in Salem. Wendy adds that it must be a huge security risk to have all this confidential information just lying around. EJ says it sounds like Li is lucky to have her here. EJ adds that she has no need to worry about the company’s security because Li’s papers are all in the building and only people with clearance have access to the executive floor. EJ remarks that they have no reason to suspect anyone including Li’s very own sister.

Li tells Chloe that he’s not trying to pressure her and he knows the offer must seem sudden. Chloe didn’t realize she was even on his radar. Li explains that since the change in leadership, he and EJ have been trying to re-evaluate their entire structure and rebuild a team of superstars. Chloe says she’s flattered but feels there’s enough people just as qualified. Li believes in fresh voices and thinks Chloe could bring a new energy to the entire DiMera team, noting that he wouldn’t have made the offer if he didn’t think so. Chloe questions this coming from Li and EJ alone. Li insists that Kristen has nothing to do with the company anymore. Chloe clarifies that wasn’t who she was talking about. Li realizes she’s asking about Stefan. Li states that he’s aware of Stefan’s romantic interest in her and admits that it’s one he is happy to encourage which Chloe questions. Li explains that he believes in honesty and he would be lying if he said he wouldn’t want to see Stefan involved with someone who isn’t Gabi. Li adds that he’s not proud of the impulse but when his fiancée’s husband comes back from the dead, he can get insecure. Chloe points out that she isn’t going to work at DiMera and then suddenly be with Stefan. Li says it’s none of his business either way and calls it just a fringe benefit. Li assures her that this offer is about business and Stefan knows nothing about it.

Stefan asks if this means Gabi can finally accept that he doesn’t love her anymore. Gabi confirms that she got tired of banging her head against the wall, hoping that he would remember his feelings for her. Gabi informs him that she charged in to Dr. Rolf’s lab and demanded he tell her what he did to make Stefan stop loving her. Stefan questions what he said. Gabi responds that Dr. Rolf said that he saved Stefan’s life but did nothing to make him hate her. Stefan questions Gabi believing Dr. Rolf. Gabi asks why she wouldn’t since he has no reason to lie to her. Stefan says there’s none that he can think of. Stefan is glad she found Dr. Rolf since now she knows that he did nothing to influence his feelings and maybe she can move on from the past and go their separate ways. Gabi agrees and says they don’t ever have to see each other again. Stefan tries to take a cake sample but Gabi questions what the hell he is doing. Stefan argues that he’s hungry and thought she could use an outside opinion. Gabi responds that she doesn’t care about his opinion on anything as this is for her and her groom. Stefan remarks that he was her groom once and she denied him his rightful cake. Stefan recalls that they didn’t even have a wedding reception and that she kicked him out as soon as they were married like it was just a way for her to get revenge on him. Stefan argues that Gabi likes to pretend that they had this grand love story but there was no love involved. Stefan declares that their wedding day was completely meaningless. Gabi says that’s not true.

Eric tells Nicole that Alex seems pretty determined for them to take these pictures and asks if she’s okay with this. Nicole admits she’s not at all and notes that she hasn’t even told Rafe that Eric took pictures of her before and now they’re going to be on the cover of Bella together. Eric points out that they don’t have to do anything they don’t want to do. Eric adds that the last thing he wants is to cause trouble for her and Rafe. Eric tells Nicole to just say the word and he will tell Alex to find another way to recreate his magic.

Johnny tells Susan that he already told her that he wasn’t the clown outside that EJ saw. Susan says she believes him but she knows he’s up to something and wishes he would tell her what it is. Johnny claims not to know what she’s talking about. Susan tells Johnny that she loves him but she loves EJ just as much and she doesn’t want Johnny to hurt EJ. Johnny argues that he’s not doing anything to him while EJ is the one who did something wrong.

Wendy agrees with EJ that Li’s papers are completely secure in this office but she is a detail oriented person and thinks Li won’t work as efficiently if he’s stuck to all the papers. EJ compliments her work ethic and says he’s sure they will be seeing a lot more of each other. Wendy says she hopes so. EJ says it was lovely meeting her and welcomes aboard. EJ tells her to ask if she needs anything. Wendy stops him and asks if she could access the records for the DiMera Jet. EJ asks what for. Wendy explains that she promised to put all of Li’s expense reports on the accounting server. Wendy says Li’s expense reports are less than detailed so she wanted to cross reference with the DiMera jet reports. EJ asks if this is something that accounting is asking for. Wendy claims they’ve apparently been wanting to for awhile but haven’t considering Li’s position. Wendy adds that she could install a new algorithm for future data. EJ says he would be more than happy to get her in to the system.

Susan questions Johnny telling her that EJ brainwashed his own brother. Johnny clarifies that he’s not 100% sure but all the evidence points in that direction. Susan questions why he would do that to his own flesh and blood. Johnny points out that EJ barely knows Stefan and as important as family is to him, his legacy means more. Johnny brings up that EJ did everything he could to push Gabi out and take DiMera back, but if Stefan came back on Gabi’s side, they would have more than enough shares and EJ would be left out. Susan questions EJ having Dr. Rolf tinker with Stefan’s brain so that he would stop loving Gabi. Johnny declares that if it’s true, Stefan and Gabi have a right to know. Susan thought Gabi was marrying Li. Johnny says that’s because Gabi thinks Stefan despises her. Susan says that’s terrible if Gabi and Stefan still love each other. Susan declares that they can’t let Gabi marry the wrong guy because love is God’s greatest gift so they can’t let anyone stand in the way of that. Johnny asks if Susan agrees then that he needs to take down EJ for Stefan and Gabi. Susan stops him and asks if he’s telling her that he is doing all of this because he feels so strongly about Gabi and Stefan’s love. Johnny asks why else he would do it. Susan guesses he’s doing it for revenge because EJ kicked Ava out on the street. Susan adds that she knows Johnny said he was going to make EJ pay for it.

Stefan asks if Gabi is admitting that marrying him was an act of revenge. Gabi goes along with it and brings up that he framed her for Andre’s murder. Stefan questions her wanting him to believe that their wedding meant something to her. Gabi says it did. Stefan asks how he’s supposed to believe that. Gabi asks why they are doing this and why it matters. Stefan says he just wants to know. Gabi talks about wanting revenge for what he did to her while she was in prison and says that duping him in to marriage was a good way to ruin his life, but she is the one who ended up duped. Stefan asks how so. Gabi questions again why they are doing this. Stefan calls it closure but points out that nobody is forcing her to answer. Gabi admits that she started to have feelings for him while plotting against him and she didn’t want to admit it. Gabi says she fell in love with him but still hated him for what he did because of his obsession with Abigail’s alter “Gabby”. Gabi brings up how she got viciously beaten in prison and now can’t have any more children. Stefan tells her that he’s sorry. Gabi repeats that she wanted to get back at him which he deserved but she was fighting back real feelings. Gabi talks about the wedding planning and fantasizing it being real. Gabi tells him about the wedding cake she had. Stefan points out it being like one on her sample platter and takes a bite. Stefan says it’s good and then asks if Gabi wants to try. Gabi takes a bite and he asks what she thinks. Gabi calls it even better than she remembers it.

Li asks Chloe if she’s ready to turn the page and start the next chapter of her life by joining them at DiMera Corporate. Brady returns so Li jokes about not having a meeting like this in the hallway. Alex thanks Brady again for the suit and promises he won’t regret it as he declares that this is exactly what Bella and Basic Black need.

Eric tells Nicole that this is her last chance if she wants to tell Alex that they want to bail on the photoshoot. Alex comes back in and asks if they are ready. Alex then guesses they don’t want to do it. Eric admits they have concerns. Alex insists the cover will be killer and says they both have inspirational stories which is exactly what they need to revitalize Bella and Basic Black. Alex asks if they want to make history or what. Nicole then agrees to do shoot the cover.

Chloe tells Li that she’s loved working at Basic Black and she’s really proud of what she’s accomplished and with Brady. Brady notes that they make a good team. Chloe states that they did, but she thinks she’s ready for something new. Chloe appreciates the offer and tells Li that she’s going to take it. Chloe doesn’t know exactly what the job is but she’ll take it. Li calls that wonderful news and says they are happy to have her. Li says he’s running late but his office will be in touch to start the process. Li congratulates Chloe and then walks away. Brady then asks if Chloe is sure about this.

Wendy goes over the DiMera Jet reports and sees the last time Li used it was months ago, before Dr. Rolf left town, unless she’s missing something. Wendy then finds an inquiry where Li had requested the names of all the pilots who have left the company in the last five years and wonders why he would do that. Wendy then goes to the phone and calls the travel department. Wendy explains that she’s going over travel records for Li and is cross referencing other documents, so she asks them to send over the list of former pilots that Li requested. Wendy thanks them and hangs up.

Li arrives in the town square and finds Gabi with Stefan. Li asks if he’s interrupting. Stefan remarks that it’s about time he got there. Li questions what is going on. Stefan responds that Li’s bride has been patiently waiting for him to try all these delicious looking cakes. Li apologizes for being late as his meeting took longer than he thought. Gabi says it’s okay as she was just getting started. Stefan advises not going for the hazelnut because it might start out great, but the after taste is bitter, as he then walks away.

Alex takes photos of Nicole and Eric. Alex praises that they look incredible and make his job easy. Alex then instructs Nicole to look in to Eric’s eyes as he continues taking photos. Alex calls it hot and says it’s magic.

Brady questions Chloe really leaving Basic Black. Chloe guesses she is and admits this isn’t how she saw her day going. Chloe points out that they’ll both still be apart of the DiMera Universe. Brady says she won’t be here. Chloe says it’s probably better considering the current situation. Chloe adds that Li assured her that Stefan had nothing to do with this. Chloe decides she should pack up her things. Brady tells her that he never wanted it to be like this. Chloe starts to cry and questions what he’s talking about since he’s the one who broke up with her and then moved Kristen in to his home. Chloe questions him saying he cares about her and acting like he wants her to stay. Chloe asks what Brady is trying to say or not say to her. Brady says it’s nothing and congratulates her on her new job because she absolutely deserves it. Chloe then walks away, leaving Brady frustrated.

Gabi and Li taste their wedding cake samples. Li likes one of the vanilla and Gabi agrees, saying extra sweet is just what she wants.

Wendy gets the pilot list from travel. Wendy calls Johnny and leaves a message to call her back when he gets this because she got the list of former DiMera pilots so if she can identify which one Li used, then she can track down exactly where Li sent Dr. Rolf. Wendy declares that they will then be one step closer to finding out if EJ and Li did something to Stefan. Wendy hangs up right as Stefan walks in and asks if someone said his name.

Johnny tells Susan that EJ might have done something really wrong and ruined peoples’ lives so it’s a good thing that he’s trying to figure out if that’s true or not. Susan argues that it’s a big if and that Johnny just admitted that EJ might not be guilty. Johnny insists that he’s getting closer to proving it. Johnny adds that Susan can’t say anything about this. Susan questions him asking her to lie to her own son. Johnny says it’s really important and asks Susan to promise she will keep her mouth shut. EJ then walks in and questions keeping her mouth shut about what.

Johnny and Wendy get close, then Johnny decides they should get her to work at DiMera Enterprises if they are going to find out if Li and EJ brainwashed Stefan. Johnny feels they deserve to be punished. Wendy points out that they don’t know what they did. Johnny reminds her that’s what they are trying to figure out. Johnny asks her what’s bothering her. Wendy brings up that she started all this to get leverage over Li to force him to give her a job, but now she has the job. Johnny asks if she wants to back out but Wendy says no as she still wants to know what Li is capable of. Johnny points out that he doesn’t need to find out about EJ because he already knows what he’s capable of, but he needs to prove what he did to Stefan so that he can bring him down. Wendy says that’s where they differ since Johnny hates EJ for what he did, but she still loves her brother Li as they are still family.

Li is at DiMera Enterprises, on the phone with his father, talking about giving Wendy a promotion. Li understands any mistakes Wendy makes is on him. Li thanks him for his input and hangs up as Kristen arrives. Kristen says she heard the end of his conversation and says if he’s handing out promotions, maybe he wouldn’t mind giving one to Chloe.

Chloe is at Basic Black, on the phone with her mom and says she understands why Brady felt he had to break up with her but she’ll never understand him moving Kristen in to John and Marlena’s house. Chloe remarks that Brady lets that bitch walk all over him, right as Brady arrives at the office.

Rafe and Gabi have coffee in the town square. Gabi tells him about Stefan trick or treating with Chloe in the town square which Rafe notes must have been awkward. Gabi adds that Stefan reminded her again that he wants nothing to do with her and says that’s fine because as far as she’s concerned, she’s with Li and they are very happy and going to get married. Rafe jokes about that being great like marriages solve everything. Gabi asks if he’s having problems with Nicole. Rafe wishes Nicole was as determined to stay away from Eric as Gabi is to move on from Stefan.

Eric and Jada have coffee in bed together. Eric suggests they call in sick but Jada says she can’t since Shawn is away and she and Rafe are working on a big investigation. Jada adds that it’s only Eric’s second day back at Basic Black so he can’t let Nicole regret bringing him back. Nicole then arrives at the door and is greeted by Jada while Eric goes to put some clothes on. Nicole says she needs to speak to Eric as something has come up. Eric comes out in his robe and questions why Nicole didn’t call. Nicole responds that she tried three times but he didn’t pick up. Eric notes that he had his phone on silent and asks what’s wrong. Nicole says she doesn’t know but they have been summoned by the editorial team at Bella as apparently there’s a problem, but she doesn’t know what it is and they want them at Titan ASAP. Eric goes back to get dressed. Nicole tells Jada that she’s sorry to interrupt but Jada says she’s not.

Gabi questions Rafe about he and Nicole still fighting about Eric since she thought they worked things out. Rafe says they did and he told her that she should work with Eric so now he has to put his money where his mouth is. Gabi encourages that the fight could’ve been a good thing. Gabi then points out Wendy and Johnny walking by and comments that she didn’t even know they knew each other.

Johnny asks Wendy if she’s sure she’s okay with spying on EJ and Li while trying to make a good impression at DiMera. Johnny clarifies that he doesn’t want her to do anything she doesn’t want to do. Wendy assures that she wants to do this. Johnny advises her to be careful since EJ is always suspicious and he doesn’t want anyone finding out what they are up to. Gabi approaches and greets Wendy as she questions what they are up to.

Li tells Kristen that Chloe is doing a great job at Basic Black but he doesn’t see why he should give her a promotion. Kristen points out that the promotion would get her out of Basic Black and she wants Chloe here at DiMera, as far away from Brady as possible.

Chloe tells her mom that she will call her back and hangs up. Chloe asks Brady how much of that he heard. Brady says enough to know that she doesn’t think that highly of him but asks why she would. Chloe says she thinks highly of him as her boss and shouldn’t have been making personal calls at the office, so she’s sorry. Chloe says she has so much to do and mentions that the Bella issue is almost ready to hit the internet so she has to get exclusive previews to fashion influencers. Brady tells Chloe that this is not how he wanted this to happen. Chloe says he told her the reasons before and she doesn’t need to hear them at work. Brady repeats that it’s not what he wanted. Chloe declares that it’s what Kristen wanted and what Kristen wants, she gets. Chloe brings up how Brady was like a puppet on a string in the town square. Brady brings up Chloe being with Stefan and says he keeps thinking about what Stefan did to Abigail and points out that Chloe is vulnerable. Chloe cuts him off and questions where he gets off saying this to her.

Li apologizes to Kristen but says he can’t help her as he doesn’t have a single position available. Kristen asks if Wendy just happened to get the last opening in the entire organization. Li says she is a brilliant IT expert and they need that, not a fashion consultant. Li then questions why Kristen is asking him to promote her instead of just doing it herself. Kristen informs him that EJ fired her because she backed Gabi over him. Li tells her that she’s out of luck then. Kristen brings up that Stefano told her never to rely on luck when threats work so much better. Kristen warns Li to give Chloe that promotion or else she’s going to tell Gabi that he brainwashed Stefan in to loathing her.

Johnny tells Gabi that he and Wendy aren’t up to anything. Gabi questions how Johnny even knows Wendy since she just got here. Wendy tells Gabi that she can ask her about her personal life. Gabi guesses it’s just a coincidence that they know each other. Rafe comes over and greets Johnny. Johnny introduces Rafe to Wendy and calls Rafe his favorite ex-stepdad. Rafe points out that it looks like he and Wendy will be related soon. Johnny points out that Rafe is the police commissioner so that could come in handy. Gabi questions again how Johnny and Wendy know each other. Johnny says that his cousin Joey met her in Seattle. Gabi recalls Wendy taking Joey and Tripp as her two dates in Hong Kong. Johnny questions that but Wendy says it’s a long story. Johnny adds that when Joey told him that Wendy was coming to town, he offered to show her around. Wendy points out that Johnny even got her a place to stay which Gabi says is so nice of him. Johnny says he was just glad to help. Rafe says he has to get going down to the police station and says it was good to see them. Rafe welcomes Wendy to Salem and walks away. Wendy adds that she should get going too so she’s not late for her first day at work. Wendy thanks Gabi again for pushing Li to get her the job as she then walks away. Johnny tells Gabi that it was good to see her but Gabi stops him and says she’s not done with him.

Nicole and Eric go to see Alex at the Titan office. Alex thanks them for coming on short notice. Nicole remarks that his e-mail made it sound like they had no choice. Eric questions if he was unhappy with the photos. Nicole explains that something came up with the model, so she had to stand in. Alex thinks there’s been a miscommunication here because he loves the photos and thinks they are exactly what Bella needs, so much that he wants to put Nicole on the cover.

Jada joins Rafe in the interrogation room at the police station. Rafe talks about preparing for his interrogations. Jada notes that he doesn’t look a bit nervous. Rafe asks why he would be. Jada points out that he’s going to be questioning one of the kingpins of the drug business and he’ll have two of the highest paid lawyers that drug money can buy. Jada gives him a summary file in a folder and then yawns, so Rafe questions if she didn’t get her coffee this morning. Jada informs him that Eric brought her a cup but she didn’t get to drink it because Nicole dropped by.

Nicole questions Alex wanting her to be on the cover of Bella. Alex says he was blown away by the photos that Eric took of her and calls it a game changer. Alex mentions Nicole being one of the biggest models but Nicole says that was years ago. Alex says not if this is any indication as he shows them his tablet. Nicole blows it off as great lighting, luck, and an amazing photographer. Eric states that Nicole is being modest. Alex remarks that it’s like she’s making love to the camera which she laughs off. Alex says he can feel the tension in the photos and it’s electric. Alex comments that whatever they have, they bring out something special in each other.

Chloe tells Brady that he has nothing to say about her personal life. Brady says he’s just worried. Chloe asks if he’s worried that losing him as rendered her incompetent to live her own life. Chloe tells Brady to think twice about warning her about Stefan when he just moved a kidnapping, murdering sociopath in to his home. Brady knows it seems that way. Chloe asks if he’s finally going to tell her what the hell is going on.

Li tells Kristen not to get all moral with him since she was part of brainwashing Stefan from the beginning. Kristen argues that it was against her better judgment and that Li preyed on her devotion to Brady. Kristen says she did it to protect her family while Li did it to get power and control of her family’s company. Li says the fact remains that they both wanted Stefan to be with Chloe. Kristen laughs off that he still does while now that she has Brady back in her life, Chloe is no longer a threat to her. Li asks how she thinks Brady will take it when he finds out what she did. Kristen responds that Brady knows she’d do anything to keep her family in tact so it wouldn’t change anything between them, but that’s not true for him and Gabi. Kristen asks how Li thinks Gabi will take it that he used her husband as a lab animal and made him hate her in the process.

Johnny asks Gabi if there’s a problem. Gabi is not buying what Johnny and Wendy are selling, so she questions what they are really up to.

Li goes over Kristen managing to break up Brady and Chloe while now they are living together with their daughter and she wants him to move Chloe out of Basic Black in to DiMera. Li says she doesn’t sound like she believes that Chloe is no longer a threat, since she’s pretty desperate to get her away from Brady. Li questions if Kristen’s hold over Brady is not quite as strong as she hoped it would be. Kristen argues that it takes time to rebuild a relationship and they are just getting started, so she doesn’t want him to get distracted at work. Li feels the need to remind her that DiMera Enterprises is a business, not couples therapy. Kristen laughs at that and calls him a hypocrite. Kristen asks how he would feel if Gabi just found herself working side by side with Stefan. Kristen declares that if Li doesn’t want to help her, she’ll go straight to Dr. Rolf and order him to undo Stefan’s programming. Wendy arrives but stops at the door and listens in as Li tells Kristen that won’t be possible because he made sure that Dr. Rolf is long gone.

Chloe tells Brady that she’s waiting for him to say what he has to say. Brady tells Chloe to understand if there was any other way but they are interrupted as Alex arrives with Eric and Nicole. Alex says he’s glad they are both here. Brady questions what he’s doing there. Alex announces that he’s here to put their rag tag business and his magazine back on the map.

Johnny tells Gabi that Wendy is new in town so he’s just showing her around. Gabi argues that it must be a highly personal tour and remarks that she saw them and it didn’t look like they were talking about dry cleaning. Johnny then admits that Gabi got him and there’s more to it.

Kristen questions what Li has done with Dr. Rolf. Li tells her that’s none of her concern. Kristen pushes him and disagrees. Li tells her that a member of her family has been apprised as to why he had to get Dr. Rolf out of the country so soon and that’s EJ. Kristen guesses Li and EJ are in cahoots now. Wendy decides she needs to record this and reaches in to her purse to grab her phone, but she drops her phone. Kristen hears it and questions what that was. As Wendy gets down to pick up her phone, Li and Kristen come out from the room. Li questions what Wendy is doing.

Jada hopes she didn’t come across petty by telling him that Nicole came by this morning since it was business and something about the shots that Eric took of Nicole for the Bella magazine. Rafe comments that Nicole gave up modeling years ago. Jada explains that the model they hired didn’t show up so Nicole filled in. Jada adds that Eric said the shots were great, so maybe Nicole is heading back to the runway.

Brady questions what Alex is talking about. Alex responds that they have an incredible opportunity to launch Bella Magazine in to the next generation while also creating buzz for Basic Black’s next collection. Brady says it sounds good and asks how to do that. Eric says by putting Nicole on the cover of Bella in Basic Black contour. Chloe calls it a great idea while Nicole says not to encourage him. Brady asks if Alex has talked to Victor about this because he kind of hates Nicole. Nicole says she asked Alex the same question. Alex reminds them that he’s in charge of Titan, not Victor, at least until Sonny recovers. Alex declares that if he wants to put Nicole on the cover, there’s not a damn thing Victor can say about it.

Gabi says she knew it and asks what’s going on between Johnny and Wendy. Johnny claims that he’s just hitting on her in a charming and subtle way. Gabi is unsure since they seemed intense and remarks that Wendy is not his type. Johnny argues that she’s smart and gorgeous which seems like his type. Gabi acknowledges that he went from Chanel to her to Ava, so she guesses he doesn’t really have a type. Johnny responds that he likes what he likes. Gabi questions him pursuing Li’s sister now. Johnny says he’s exploring possibilities. Gabi responds that she just doesn’t want to see either of them get hurt. Johnny says he doesn’t want to see Gabi get hurt either. Gabi questions what that’s supposed to mean and how she could get hurt.

Wendy tells Li and Kristen that she was trying to take a selfie on her first day of work and dropped her phone. Li introduces Wendy to Kristen. Kristen welcomes her to DiMera Enterprises. Wendy says she looks forward to working for her but Kristen clarifies that it won’t be for her because EJ canned her. Wendy says she’s sorry to hear that. Kristen tells her that she still has her shares and remarks that Wendy’s brother is more loyal than her brother. Kristen adds that what she admires most about Li is that he’s always mindful of where he’s loyal.

Alex talks about how magazines have been struggling to remain relevant for years so they have to break the internet, which is why resurrecting one of Bella’s biggest models from it’s heyday could do just that. Nicole comments that she wasn’t dead, she just stopped modeling. Alex says that was a mistake and the latest photoshoot proves it. Alex adds that he doesn’t know what is going on but Eric’s photos bring out the best in her and he wants the rest of the world to see it. Eric decides if they are going to do another photoshoot, he needs to start setting up. Chloe goes to get makeup, hair, and wardrobe. Alex compliments Brady’s suit, which Brady explains is part of Basic Black’s upcoming line and that the designer suggested he wear it around the office to get feedback. Alex calls it killer and decides they are going to use it in the shoot with Brady. Alex compares it to Vogue having couples on the cover. Brady responds that he’s not a model. Alex says he is if he wants his collection on the cover. Nicole suggests letting Eric take a couple of test shots and agrees that this could give Basic Black a boost. Brady then gives in and agrees to do it.

Wendy decides to get to her office and start settling in. Wendy tells Kristen again that it was nice to meet her. Kristen wishes her luck with her new job as Wendy exits. Kristen asks Li where they were. Li tells Kristen that he’s not telling her where Dr. Rolf is. Kristen threatens to go tell Gabi and Stefan everything she knows, noting that they are already suspicious and so is Chloe. Kristen brings up that Marlena has reversed Dr. Rolf’s programming on more than one occasion, so she’s sure that she’ll be happy to help Stefan recover his passion for Gabi and then the two of them will run DiMera instead of him.

Gabi and Johnny sit together in the town square as she questions Johnny not wanting to see her get hurt. Johnny says he just feels kind of responsible for everything that happened with her and Jake. Gabi blames the Devil. Gabi adds that she did care for Jake, but they were never right for each other. Johnny points out that she and Stefan were though. Gabi says they thought so but he changed his mind. Johnny asks if that doesn’t seem weird to her to have such a drastic change. Gabi agrees that it was so weird that she thought Dr. Rolf did something to him but he didn’t. Johnny informs her that he thought the same thing. Gabi says she was so sure so she confronted Dr. Rolf, but he told her that he did nothing to Stefan other than bring him back from the dead. Johnny questions her just taking Dr. Rolf’s word for it. Gabi admits she’s never done that before but for some reason, she felt he was telling her the truth. Gabi declares that it doesn’t matter because if Stefan wants to be with Chloe, he can have her since she is with Li and they are in love and going to be married. Gabi adds that now nothing is going to stand in the way of her happiness.

Li tells Kristen that he will offer Chloe the promotion and asks if she’s happy now. Kristen responds that she’s over the moon and he will be too. Kristen declares that it won’t be long before Chloe is out of Brady’s life and once she is with Stefan, Li and Gabi can live happily ever after. Gabi calls Li and tells him that it’s almost time to audition the wedding cakes at the Bakery, so she wanted to make sure he was on his way. Li responds that he’s sorry but a personal matter came up at work that he has to take care of but he’ll be there as soon as he can. Gabi tells him to keep her posted as they hang up. Kristen then orders Li to go to Basic Black and offer Chloe her dream job. Kristen and Li then exit the room. After they walk away, Wendy sneaks back up to the door and calls Johnny. Johnny asks if she found anything out. Wendy responds that she sure did and she thinks they were right.

Jada apologizes to Rafe as she can tell that it’s bothering him that Nicole is modeling again for Eric. Jada admits she’s not thrilled about it either since Eric told her that’s how they got together all those years ago. Rafe says it’s not so much that she’s modeling, but that she didn’t tell him about it. Rafe wonders if she thought he would act like a jerk since he did when she told him that she hired Eric. Jada says that married people fight. Rafe says he learned that he has to trust Nicole. Jada adds that she has to trust Eric. Rafe calls it great that they figured this all out, so they can get back to work now.

Eric takes photos of Brady and Nicole for Bella Magazine. Alex gives instruction and reminds them that he’s in charge. Brady gets irritated by having to model and steps out of the room. Alex questions where he’s going as Chloe goes out after him. Brady tells Chloe that he’s going to get out of here. Chloe says that’s fine but questions what he was trying to tell her before Alex barged in.

Eric and Nicole exchange looks from across the office. Alex looks at them both and declares that’s it. Alex decides that Eric is the one that needs to be in the suit and model with Nicole.
