Jack talked to Xander about having an affair with Kate. Xander thought Jennifer would understand why he did it. Jack said he should have told her from the start. Jennifer told Abby that she and Jack always broke up when they got together. Jake confronted Gwen about making it look as if he gave Abby the bracelet that was meant for Kate. He said Chad thought he was having an affair with Abby. She was happy about it. He wanted to know what Abby did to her to make her so upset. Brady caught Sarah looking at a laptop. He wanted to know what she was doing. She said she was downloading a file on her laptop. Xander told Jack that he gave him advice on how to get with Sarah. Jack said they were happy. Xander said they broke up again. Abby wanted to know if Jennifer was giving up on Jack. Jennifer told her about the hourglass he gave her. She said he told her he would wait for her forever. Abby said it was true. Jennifer thought Jack was still sleeping with her. Abby said they weren’t having an affair. Jennifer said she had reason to believe he was. Kate told Chad that Jake and Abby weren’t having an affair. He told her he gave her a bracelet. Kate said Jake said the gift was for Abby. Chad said everyone knew it wasn’t for Gwen. He said Jake was sneaking around with Abby. He said Jake was sleeping with someone in the house. He knew it wasn’t Gwen so it had to be Abby. Kate said she had to tell him something. Gwen told Jake that she didn’t have a problem with Abby. She said Abby has been good to her. He wanted her to give him the bracelet. She said she couldn’t give it to Kate now because everyone saw her wearing it. He said she was the reason why Chad hated him. He roughed her up until she decided to give him the bracelet. Kate told Chad that she promised him that she would watch out for Jake. She said he wasn’t up to something. She said she has gotten to know him. Chad didn’t want her to defend him. He wanted her to be on his side. She said she was on his side. She said she didn’t want to jeopardize their relationship.

Jennifer told Abby that Kate made it seem as if she was seeing someone who lived in the mansion. She told her that Julie called her friend and he said Kate could have been with a person named Jack. She said when she and Jack went to see Julie’s friend, he didn’t recognize Jack from the picture. Abby said she was wrong. Jennifer asked who the person could be if it wasn’t Jack. Abby said she knew who it was. Jack wanted to know why Xander and Sarah broke up. Xander said it was because of Philip. Xander didn’t want to get into the details. Jack said he was using him and Sarah as inspiration. Xander told him not to give up on Jennifer. Jennifer realized that Abby thought Kate was sleeping with Jake. Jennifer thought Kate was too old for him. Abby said it made sense. She told Jennifer that Chad thought she was sleeping with Jake. Chad went to see Gwen. Jennifer wanted to know why Chad thought she was having an affair. Abby said it was a long story. Jennifer asked if he accused her of sleeping with Jake. Abby said he did. Jennifer asked if he apologized. Abby said he did, but it was awkward between them. Jennifer told her to tell him what she figured out before it was too late. John wanted Steve to accept the fact that the test results proved Tripp raped Allie. Steve let him know he couldn’t do what he wanted so John was about to leave Kayla’s office. Steve stopped him to let him know he might have evidence that proved Tripp didn’t do it. Steve shared his theory with him about Tripp’s relative raping Allie. John thought he needed to stop drinking. He believed the theory was worth checking out. Steve reminded him how they’ve taken cases with less evidence and they still checked it out. John agreed to help him. They talked about the case and Steve thought he knew who the person was who raped Allie. John liked his theory and hoped they would be on the right path to finding Allie’s rapist. Kate and Will talked about Tripp raping Allie. Kate felt he should have been in jail for what he did to Allie. She didn’t want to see him because she was afraid of what she would do to him when she saw him. Tripp walked by them so Will had to hold her back to keep her from going after him. Will told him to stay away from his family. She wanted Tripp to leave Salem. Tripp walked away from them to pass out flyers. He tried to call his mother again. Steve arrived and let him know how he and John were going to try to clear his name. He told Tripp how they had a suspect who they thought was a relative of his.

Claire arrived at Charlie’s place as he put the gag on Ava’s mouth. She called out to him and he panicked when she called him. He wondered how she knew where he lived. He told her how he wasn’t feeling well and didn’t want her to get sick too. She wanted to make sure he was okay. He told her how he needed a few minutes to clean up and put Ava in another room. After he hid Ava, he let her in his place. Claire noticed how sweaty he was and he said he had a fever. She thought he was trying to blow her off. He assured her that he would never do that to her. Claire heard a noise while she was in Charlie’s apartment. Ava ended up knocking something over in the other room. Charlie lied and said it was a pipe. He walked her to the door so she could leave.After Claire left, Ava wanted to know what Charlie was going to do to her. She wanted to know if he would kill her. He told her how he wasn’t a murderer. He wasn’t sure what he was going to do with her. Lucas went to Marlena’s townhouse. He told her how he threatened Tripp with a pair of scissors. He said he was going to stab him, but Rafe showed up and stopped him from doing. She couldn’t believe he did it. He wanted to know if she told Allie the same thing when she tried to shoot him. She had no idea Allie tried to shoot Tripp. He approved of what Allie tried to do to Tripp. Marlena told him how Allie could have gone to prison for what she did.

Marlena told John about the gift Steve gave them. He didn’t care about the gift. He was upset with Steve because he defended Tripp. Marlena wanted him to see it from Steve’s point of view. She reminded him how their kids have done some bad things, but they didn’t turn their backs on them. She thought Steve’s gift was a peace offering. She hoped he would see it that way. Steve went to Kayla’s office and told her how he wanted to clear Tripp’s name. He told her about his conversation with Allie. He mentioned how she remembered the rape and saw a hand. She didn’t say for a fact it was Tripp’s hand. He asked her if it was possible that someone else broke in her place and attacked her. Kayla told him how the DNA test matched him. He thought someone related to Tripp assaulted Allie. Kayla wasn’t completely sure, but thought it was possible. John showed up at Kayla’s office with his gift. Steve thought he was giving it back. John wanted to have a drink with his friend. Allie went to see Marlena. She told her about her conversation with Sami. She said Sami wished she could hold her. Allie wished she could too. Marlena assured her how she was there for her. Rafe looked at Ava’s file when Nicole showed up at the station. Nicole saw Ava’s file so he told her about Tripp’s theory about that. Rafe thought Ava left town. Nicole wasn’t sure if Ava would have done that since she found Tripp. She suggested he look for her because it was Christmas.

Tripp left a message for Ava. He wanted her to call him. He opened the door and saw Lucas. He wanted him to pay for raping Allie. Tripp denied raping her. Lucas let him know he would have shot him between his legs if he had a gun. Tripp told him how Allie tried to do that to him. Tripp wanted Lucas to leave. Lucas was about to go when he grabbed a pair of scissors. He was determined to make him pay for what he did. Rafe walked in the apartment and saw Lucas trying to kill Tripp. He took the scissors from Lucas. He wanted Rafe to arrest Tripp. Rafe wanted to, but the rape didn’t happen in Salem. Rafe told him to leave. Charlie tried to feed Ava, but she didn’t care for the food. His phone rang, but he ignored the call. She wondered if it was his girlfriend. He told her how he saw Allie, but she didn’t recognize him. He told her how she thought he looked familiar. Ava warned him that it was a matter of time before she recognized him. She advised him to confess to what he did. He said she never cared about him. He thought she cared about Tripp. She told him how Tripp wasn’t guilty. He reminded her how she was the only one who knew that. He wasn’t able to let her go now. He put her gag back on her mouth. He got a shock when Claire knocked on his door.

Abe surprised Lani and Eli by flying Valerie in to see them. Lani had another contraction. She let Kayla know she didn’t feel strong enough to give birth. Kayla joked with her that humans would die off if men were the ones who got pregnant. She encouraged Lani and said she would be able to do it. Eli was with Lani while she was dealing with her contractions. She eventually gave birth to a boy and a girl. Eli and Lani talked about what happened when she gave birth to David. They felt he was watching over them. Tripp let Steve know he was worried about Ava. Steve thought she might have skipped town. Tripp believed there was more to it than just skipping town. He let Steve know how he found Christmas cards and realized Ava sent him cards every year. She wrote how she wanted to be reunited with him. Tripp didn’t think she would have left since she wanted to be with him. Steve wasn’t sure about it, but kept his opinion to himself. Joey went to see Roman. They started talking about Tripp briefly and decided to change the subject. Stephanie called to check on her brother. He talked to her about visiting her soon. Steve arrived to see if he would dress as Santa at the hospital. He turned down the offer. Lucas arrived at the pub with Allie and things between Steve and Lucas were uncomfortable.

Roman had a video call with Sami. He wanted Allie and Lucas to talk to her too. They were having a good conversation when Roman blurted out Henry’s conception. Sami wanted to know what happened. Allie admitted she was raped in London. Sami realized she didn’t say anything because she would make it about her. Sami would love Henry regardless of how he was conceived. Rafe ended up being the person at Nicole’s door. She was hoping Eric was there. Eric called her to let her know he couldn’t come home. He said he was stranded in Ethiopia. After she talked to Eric, she invited Rafe to eat with her. She hoped things would get better for him with Hope. She assured him that someone was out there who would want him. Doug invited Eli to the house for the tree ornament ceremony. Eli wasn’t in a celebratory mood. Doug demanded he be in the mood. He let him know Lani wouldn’t be there. Eli finally agreed to go to the party. Julie did the same thing with Lani. She invited her to the Horton tree trimming party. She wanted to stay home. Julie told her that Eli wouldn’t be there. She refused to take no for an answer. Ben stared at Ciara’s picture when Claire showed up at his new place. She gave him the ornament from Ciara. The ornament had his name on it. She wanted him to go with her to the Horton house to put the ornament on the tree. He didn’t want to intrude on the family. Claire told him how he wasn’t intruding because he was family. He finally agreed to go with her.

The family gathered at the Horton house. Jack gave Jennifer an hourglass. He wanted to turn back time, but he would wait for her. He refused to give up on them. Lani and Eli were at the house. They weren’t happy to see each other. Julie wanted him to talk to Lani. He went over to her to talk. He apologized for losing his temper. She wasn’t happy about the way he handled things, but she knew he was trying to do. He hoped they could get through the rough patch. Jennifer let Julie know how Jack wasn’t with Kate. Julie wanted to know if she could forgive Jack. After Julie talked to Jennifer, she met up with Doug. They ended up seeing Eli and Lani kissing. They were happy they made up. The family started trimming the tree. Ben couldn’t hang his ornament and left. Julie gave Lani her ornament, and she went into labor. Ben came back to the house after everyone went to the hospital. He found Claire cleaning up. He apologized for not being able to hang his ornament. Claire understood how he felt. She knew he wanted to be with Ciara. Charlie told Ava that she was going to be alone for Christmas. Allie asked Nicole if she was going to be at Marlena’s for Christmas. Nicole said she had a couple of things to do first. Allie wanted to know what she had to do. Nicole said Eric was coming home. Nicole said she wanted to spend time with him. Allie understood. Someone was at the door. Nicole thought it was Eric and answered it. It turned out to be Will. Ava was surprised that Charlie was doing this to her. He said he was taking a page out of her book. He said if someone was a threat to her, she would take care of them. She said she wasn’t a threat to him. He said she was going to tell everyone that he was a rapist. She said Tripp wasn’t going to be charged so she didn’t have to say anything. Charlie said she was still thinking about Tripp. He said she only wasn’t going to say anything because Tripp wasn’t in danger. She said that wasn’t true. She told him that they could celebrate Christmas together. He made her think that he wanted to spend Christmas together. He told her that he was too old for that. He left her to watch television by herself. Will apologized to Allie for lying to her. She told him not to do it because no one knew better than her about Sami and her plans. Allie said Sami got what she wanted since she’s raising her baby. Shawn and Belle got married at John and Marlena’s place. Sami called while Marlena was performing the ceremony.

Belle told Marlena not to answer the phone to Sami. Marlena said she thought she would want to tell her about the wedding. Belle said she wouldn’t tell Sami that she was getting married after what she did with Jan. Shawn told her not to stress because they were getting married. Belle apologized. Marlena turned off her phone and finished the ceremony. Will and Allie showed up when the ceremony was over. Claire introduced Allie to Charlie. Charlie was nervous when he met her. Ava was able to get her wrists out of the ropes. Allie asked Charlie if she knew him from somewhere. He said she didn’t. She said he looked familiar. Charlie said he had to leave because he was sick. Sarah told Philip that she was talking to Sarah. He apologized to her for kissing her. She told him that she wasn’t ready to be in a relationship. He told her he liked her before he left. Brady went to see Kristen. He told her they could focus on their future together. He wanted her to tell him what she saw for their future. She told him what she saw. He gave her a gift from Rachel. She told him how Chad didn’t forget what happened when she was with Stefan. She said Chad needed to be reassured of her fidelity. Jack advised her to give him what he needed to feel secure. They talked about his problems with Jennifer. She wanted him to fight for Jennifer. Gwen overheard Chad talking to himself about Abby and Jake’s conversation. Chad wanted to know what they meant by not wanting him to be more suspicious than he already was. Gwen asked why he didn’t confront Abby about it. He didn’t want to make things worse. Chad and Gwen continued to talk and he thanked her for her help. She said they were under the mistletoe. While they were standing around, Tony and Anna showed up. Chad was happy to see them. Tony wanted to visit Kristen in prison. When Chad and Tony left, Anna wanted to get to know Gwen.

Rolf went to see Kristen. He gave her a present. It was a picture of her with Stefano and Chad. Rolf wanted her to tell Chad that he had a gift for him too. When Rolf left, Chad and Tony showed up. She was happy to see them. Chad noticed the picture. She said Rolf had one for him too. Lucas and Jennifer talked about what was going on with Allie. They shifted gears and talked about her problems with Jack. He asked her if she was going to work things out with Jack. She said she didn’t think so because Jack was still sleeping with Kate. Lucas didn’t believe they were. Jennifer told him about Julie’s friend seeing Kate check in a hotel with a man whose name started with a J. Lucas said he would ask Kate about it. Jennifer had an idea. They ran into Saul, Julie’s friend, in the town square. They asked him if Kate checked into a hotel with a man named Jack. Saul said that sounded right. Lucas showed him a picture of Jack, but Saul didn’t know who he was. Jennifer was relieved to know Jack wasn’t the one with Kate.

Charlie begged Ava not to tell Tripp the truth. He wanted her to keep quiet so they would both be protected. She told him how she couldn’t do it. Tripp was outside of the door and wanted her to open the door. She went to the door so Charlie picked up a vase and hit her with it. Jennifer told Julie about her suspicions of Jack and Kate being together. Julie assured her how Jack loved her. She didn’t know what to think because she didn’t know he would sleep with Kate. Jake wanted to go out in public with Kate. She wasn’t ready for that. Kate let her know how Jennifer overheard her making plans with him and thought she was going to be with Jack. She didn’t want to tell her the truth because it’s bad enough Gwen knew the truth. Gwen sent Jake a text pretending to be Abby. Chad walked in the room and she asked him why he assumed Jake was with Abby. He explained what happened. She pretended to care about their relationship and tried to convince him they would work things out. Steve talked to Allie. He let her know that he believed her as well as Tripp. She told him how he couldn’t have it both ways. He wanted to hear her side of the story. She was willing to tell it to prove Tripp was a liar. Charlie couldn’t believe he hit her. Tripp tried to get inside, but Charlie wanted him to go away. Julie called the DiMera mansion and Gwen answered the phone. She made it seem like Jack and Kate were together. Chad came back in the room and admitted how he couldn’t find Jake and Abby.

She wasn’t sure, but the DNA test proved she was the father so she didn’t know who else touched her. He appreciated her talking to him and apologized for what happened. Chad went to the garage to find Abby and Jake together. He saw how the garage was empty. Gwen showed up there too. Chad asked her not to tell Abby he was there looking for her. Julie told Jennifer how she talked to her friend at the Salem Inn and he said Kate was there with someone. He told Julie how the guy’s name started with a “J.” Tripp told Steve what happened when he went to Ava’s place. They were headed back to her place. Charlie was happy Ava was still alive. He had to convince her not to say anything. Ava started moaning and scared him. Allie talked to Kate about going through with the lawsuit. She told her how she talked to Steve about it. She said he made her question something. Steve and Tripp went in Ava’s apartment, but she wasn’t there. Charlie had her tied up in his apartment.

Tripp wanted to get to know Ava and didn’t want Steve to talk him out of getting closer to her. Steve said he wouldn’t talk him out of it. Steve said he was worried about him. Steve said she was a damaged person. He wanted people to give her a chance and not write her off. Steve reminded him that she was linked to the mob. Steve asked him not to underestimate what she could do. Tripp ended up leaving. Allie showed up and Steve wanted to talk to her. Ava and Charlie argued about Tripp. She reminded him they were brothers. She said they were both her sons. She said he wasn’t Steve’s son, but he shared enough DNA with Tripp to mess with the paternity test. Charlie denied raping Allie, but she didn’t believe him. He knew she believed Tripp because he’s Steve’s son. He said he went running whenever she needed him. She said she loved her sons equally, but he didn’t believe her.

Charlie told Ava that he wanted a relationship with her. He said that was why he wanted to work with her. He said she sent him to look out for Tripp. She demanded he admit he raped Allie. He finally admitted he raped. She couldn’t believe he would force himself on a woman. He didn’t mean to hurt Allie. He messed up and felt bad about it. He asked Ava not to tell anyone what he did. She said she wouldn’t sacrifice Tripp’s reputation for him. She said Tripp’s name needed to be cleared. He told her things were going the way he wanted them to. He said this was her chance to make it up to him. He said she owed up. While he was asking her not to say anything, Tripp arrived. Philip ran into Victor at home. Victor asked him about Sarah. Philip pretended to act as if he didn’t know what he was talking about, but Victor knew he was using Sarah to get to Xander. Victor wanted him to stop feeling threatened by Xander. Philip said he wasn’t threatened by Xander. Philip said Xander wasn’t the reason why he was doing what he was doing. He said he was there for Titan and wanted to protect the family legacy. Philip was about to tell Victor something when Maggie came in the room and told them Ava was alive. Victor said he was happy they never had any deals with her so they weren’t targets. When Maggie left, Victor asked what Philip was going to tell him. Philip told him he could run the business. Victor said he was glad to have him back.

Charlie went to see Ava. She told him how Tripp was accused of raping Allie. He said he heard about it from his girlfriend. He told her how it was okay because he wasn’t being charged. She was upset because people were still going to accuse him of being a rapist. Shawn ran into Ben at the cemetery and they talked about how they saw Ciara. Charlie apologized for the way his comment sounded to Ava. She told him how her son was being accused of rape. He explained that Claire told him how the case was dropped. She let him know that he knew everything because was the one who raped Allie.

Nicole went to see Rafe at the station. She told him what happened with Eric. He let her know how he and Hope were getting close again just before he left town. He said she left town. Nicole heard how she left before Ciara’s funeral. Rafe told her how he saw Hope and they ended things. He understood because she was hoping Ciara would be found. Allie talked to Claire about pulling a gun on Tripp. Claire was shocked to hear that. Claire thought she might hurt her case because she tried to shoot Tripp. Claire thought it would come up in court. Charlie told Ava he didn’t know Allie so he couldn’t have raped her. She let him know how he was in London at the time watching Tripp. He said that didn’t prove he raped her. She said the DNA test was proof he raped her. Ava let Charlie know how Allie had a boy because of what happened to her and he was in London when the boy was conceived. She wanted to know if he had an explanation why Tripp’s DNA matched her son. Charlie said it was because he raped her. Ava told Charlie how Tripp denied being with Allie. He wanted to know how he could explain the DNA. She said he couldn’t explain it but she could do it. Rafe advised Nicole to talk to Eric about how much she missed him. She didn’t want to stop him from helping people. Shawn and Ben continued to talk about losing Ciara. Ava told Charlie that they shared DNA because they are brothers.

Xander and Sarah realized that Philip was working with Ava. Philip went to see Ava and she wasn’t happy about it. Kayla and Steve were excited that Joey was back in town. Allie went to Belle to talk to her about the case against Tripp. Belle wanted to help and she said that she could. She told her that she wanted to sue him for everything he had. Philip wanted to make sure Ava didn’t reveal their connection to each other since she came forward about being alive. She didn’t want to ruin her relationship with Tripp so she didn’t want him to know Philip was laundering money from Titan for her. Joey was excited to see Tripp, but Kayla didn’t seem thrilled about it at all. Allie wasn’t sure if Belle would represent her because Sami was why Jan was in town. Joey wanted Tripp stay for dinner, but he told him Kayla didn’t want him there because of him. Xander told Sarah about Kristen and Ava’s connection.

Philip told Ava about an intern spying on him. He told her how he convinced him to convince Xander he was on his side. Xander didn’t want Sarah to stay involved in his plan. She wasn’t afraid to help her, but he told her how she was a sociopath. Xander wasn’t sure why Ava was in town unless it had something to do with Steve. Joey noticed the tension between Tripp and Kayla and wanted details. Kayla informed Tripp he could tell him since Steve was there to back him up. Tripp told him how Allie accused him of rape. He talked to him about the DNA test claiming he was the father. Kayla interrupted him and said it proved he was the father. Allie wanted to know what he would get if she sued Tripp. Belle talked to her about the options. Belle wondered if she wanted to go through with the case. Belle warned Allie that Tripp’s lawyers were going to destroy her in court. Joey wanted Tripp to know that he believed he was innocent. He told Kayla that he wanted Tripp to stay and have dinner with them. Sarah told Xander how Philip saw her coming from the Inn and how he kissed her. Xander wanted to kill him, but she told him how he was trying to get him fired. Ava wanted Philip to continue laundering the money or her collection partners would be brutal. Ava wanted him to go because she didn’t want Tripp seeing them together. Ava wanted to know why the person she called wouldn’t answer the phone. Allie refused to back down to Tripp and his lawyers. She wanted to pursue the case.

Jennifer heard Kate’s call and thought she wanted to meet Jack. She confronted Kate about the phone call. She told Jennifer how she wasn’t talking to Jack. Gwen apologized to Jack for the way she spoke to him at the park. Tripp went to see Ava at the station. He assured her that Rafe had to arrest her, but Kayla would come through for them. She didn’t think Kayla would help her. Steve wanted to know if Kayla was going to the station to talk to Trask about Ava. Kayla felt like Ava was more concerned about herself than she was about Joey. He decided to go to the station to see what he could do to help Ava. Gwen was trying to get info out of Jack. He told her how things didn’t go well with Jennifer. Steve went to the station and heard Ava talking about Kayla. He told her to stop doing it. She thought Kayla chose Allie’s side instead of Tripp’s side. Kayla showed up after all and said she needed a lawyer. She brought Justin and Trask with her. Trask said she didn’t have the authority to just release a convicted criminal. Jennifer continued to grill Kate until Bonnie showed up. Jack continued to tell Gwen about Jennifer when Kate showed up. He left so they talked. Kate put her on notice about not being able to trust her. She didn’t want Gwen telling about her being with Jake. She said she would keep her mouth shut about it.

Jennifer talked to Bonnie about what happened with Kate. They changed the subject and talked about Justin. Bonnie hoped she could make Justin feel better about losing Adrienne. Kate and Gwen continued to talk about whether she would tell about her affair with Jake. Gwen kept saying that she wouldn’t say anything. Kate wanted to know what she wanted in return for her silence. Gwen said could keep Jake. Kate suspected that she wanted Chad instead of Jake. Trask didn’t want to overturn Joey’s conviction at first. Kayla and Ava talked her into it. Steve was about to let Tripp know that he had to move out. Jack walked in the room and saw Kate. He didn’t feel comfortable being in the same room as her now that Jennifer knew the truth. Gwen went to see Jennifer with pictures from the kids. Ava was upset about Steve and Kayla throwing Tripp out. She called Kayla out for not believing Tripp after what she did for Joey. She wanted him to stay with her. Steve wasn’t happy about that idea and Kayla wanted to talk about it some more. Tripp was fine with living with Ava. Gwen made it seem to Jennifer like Jack and Kate were still together. Jack talked to Kate about working things out with Jennifer. She warned him about Gwen. He wanted to know what she meant, but she didn’t say anything.

Jennifer saw Gwen having a fit at the park. Gwen talked about destroying Abby and turned around to see Jennifer standing there. Gwen was about to explain herself, but Jennifer didn’t hear what she said. She was concerned about her fit because she took care of her grandkids. Kayla went home and asked Steve if he threw Tripp out. He tried to explain but Ava walked out of the room. Chad asked Abby if she had an affair with Jake. He let her know how it wouldn’t be the first time she slept with one of his brothers. Abby was shocked that he threw that up in her face. She told him how she had an illness and wouldn’t have hurt him. Jack walked in and wondered what happened. Nicole ran into Tripp and couldn’t believe he didn’t go near his son. Tripp wanted to know if it was okay for Allie to point a gun at him. Kayla demanded an explanation from Steve about Ava being alive. He told her Rolf was why she was alive. Kayla couldn’t believe she allowed Joey to be in prison for four years. Gwen told Jennifer how she was upset about what Jack did and how Abby forgave him. Abby had to excuse herself so Jack asked Chad what happened. Chad told him how he accused Abby of cheating on him. Nicole went back and forth with Tripp about Allie. Kayla choked Ava and Steve tried to stop her. She couldn’t believe he needed to have Ava arrested. He tried to explain, but she was too upset to listen. Ava let her know that she could file attempted murder charges against her.

Jack wanted answers from Chad about what happened with Abby. He told him how he kicked her while she was down. Jack blamed himself for Chad accusing Abby of sleeping with Jake. Gwen implied that Jack could still be sleeping with Kate. Jennifer ended up using the bat herself. Ava tried to convince Kayla to drop the kidnapping charges against her and she would help Joey. She wanted Kayla to think about her offer. Nicole talked to Tripp about Ava. He was surprised that she was the only person who didn’t badmouth his mother. She mentioned how she did bad things too. She couldn’t judge Ava because of her actions. He said that she judged him and she let him know he wouldn’t own up to what he did. Kayla couldn’t believe Steve allowed Ava in their house. He explained how he wanted to watch her. Chad apologized to Abby for what he said to her. She said she would forgive him, but she needed to some space from him. He walked off and Gwen showed up. She wanted to know what happened. Abby told her how Chad accused her of sleeping with Jake. Jack found Jennifer and asked her if she was picking up young men. He wanted to make things better between them. Tripp showed up and found out Kayla knew about Ava. Ava came out and said it’s up to her whether Joey would be able to get out of prison.

Jennifer ended up with a hangover after hanging out with Bonnie. She told Julie about her night with Bonnie. She wanted to get back at Jack for what he did to Kate. She liked how the guy she was with seemed interested in her. Jack was with Justin and hoped Jennifer didn’t do anything with the guy. Bonnie made it sound like something happened with the guys she and Jennifer met. Jack was shocked until Bonnie let him know she was joking with him. Chad showed up at the garage to see Jake so Kate hid from him. Chad noticed the bed and realized he wasn’t alone. Rafe was surprised when Abe asked him to be the commissioner again. Abe mentioned how Hope wasn’t ready to be back on the force when left. Rafe said he tracked Hope down and talked to her. She didn’t just want to be back on the force. Jack lost his appetite and left the pub. Justin couldn’t believe what Bonnie did to Jack. Abby talked to Gwen and let her know how Gabi left town. She was surprised Gabi didn’t pick things up with Jake. She also told her how she didn’t think Gabi was the one who drugged her. Gwen thought she did, but Abby wanted to confront her about it. Gwen thought she would have lied, but Abby would have known. Gwen wondered who would have done it since Abby was so sweet. Chad thought Jake was with Gabi, but he said he wasn’t with her.

Rafe continued to talk to Abe about what happened when he found Hope. He told him how Hope wasn’t interested in a relationship right now because she wanted to focus on finding Ciara. Abe couldn’t believe Rafe wasn’t willing to wait for her. Hope would wait, but he knew she didn’t want to come back to Salem or be with him. Abe thought he should try, but he didn’t think it would change. Chad remembered how Jake was with Gabi before she left town so he wanted to know what happened. He told him how he broke up with Gabi because of Gwen. Gwen thought things were probably weird at the Spectator because of what happened with her parents. Jack arrived while they were talking. Gwen told him how Abby wasn’t to blame for what happened at the party. He let her know how he apologized to her. Jack hugged Abby and Gwen wasn’t happy about it. Chad found it hard to believe that Jake would get back together with Gwen. Rafe agreed to be the commissioner. Abe told him how Ava was alive. Bonnie didn’t understand why she didn’t hear from Justin. He told her why he didn’t call her. She was willing to be with two people, but he didn’t want to share her. She admitted that she didn’t do anything with the guy she met. After Chad left, Jake wondered if Kate thought he believed what he said. She didn’t think he believed him. She wasn’t sure if they should be together anymore. He wanted to know why she cared so much about what Jack thought. Chad thought about finding Abby’s scarf at the garage and how she was with Jake. He asked her if she was sleeping with Jake.

Allie told Nicole about what she did to Tripp. Nicole was glad that she didn’t go through with shooting him. She wanted to know who stopped her. Allie told her it was his mother. Philip was surprised to see Chloe. They talked and she let him know that she would be working for Nicole. He told her about Xander and how he was after him. Ava asked Tripp not to tell Steve how she’s alive. He told her how Steve stood by his side and couldn’t keep it from him. Steve walked in the room and saw Ava. He wished she was still dead. Nicole told Allie about Allie. Steve couldn’t believe Ava had the nerve to show up in Salem. She told Steve he should be glad she was back and he knew she meant Joey. Xander read the info that Sarah got from Philip’s computer. He was convinced he could bring Philip down with the info. Chloe wanted to know what happened between Philip and Mimi since he dumped her for her. He started to explain what happened. He said he was afraid to get hurt by her and went with Mimi. He told her how he was gambling with Mimi and things got out of hand. Nicole was going to call the police on Ava, but Allie stopped her. She said the police would find out what she did and she didn’t want to go to jail instead of Tripp. Roman, Abe, and Kayla talked about Steve and Tripp. She wanted Tripp out of her place because she couldn’t look at him.

Ava told Steve that Joey tried to kill her and he said he paid for his crime. Steve wanted to take her out of his place, but Tripp wanted him to be careful with her. Ava wanted to talk about things before they did anything. Nicole called Abe and asked him to come over so she could talk to him. Ava was willing to help get Joey out of prison as long as she didn’t go too. Steve wanted to know how he would be able to get Joey out without the police knowing she was alive. She warned him that she had the resources to retaliate against him. Tripp told Steve he was glad she was back because she saved him from Allie. Nicole told Abe about Ava being back. She didn’t want him to go to the police and he wanted to know why. Allie told him that she would go to jail if he said something. Nicole tried to defend Allie and said she didn’t mean to shoot Tripp, but she said she wanted to shoot him. Ava told Steve how she had the gun Allie used when she tried to shoot Tripp. Steve couldn’t believe she happened to be there when it happened. Ava told him that they could both stand by Tripp’s side. Abe agreed not to say anything for now.

Philip told Sarah he was going to work, but she suggested he work from home so he could avoid seeing Xander. Philip called Ava and left his briefcase on the desk. Sarah went in the briefcase and got his laptop. She downloaded files to a flash drive. When Philip came back, he asked her what she was doing with his laptop. She lied and said she was getting things ready for the charity. Kayla and Steve got in an argument over Tripp moving out. Steve said he wanted to support Tripp. She said she only saw a rapist whenever she looked at Tripp. She told him how it bothered her too. He didn’t want to abandon his son after letting him know that he supported him. She said she hated doing this to him, but there was no other choice. He told her he was being stubborn and put her through a lot. He finally agreed to do what he wanted.

Ava took the gun from Allie and pointed it at her. Tripp stood in front of Allie and asked Ava not to shoot her. He said she could go to jail. He didn’t want to lose her again. She put the gun down. She told Allie not to bother Tripp again. Allie agreed to leave him alone. She asked for the gun back because it was her grandmother’s. Ava told her to leave. Allie ran out. Tripp wanted to know how Ava was still alive. She said Rolf brought her back to life. She wanted to find him, but she didn’t want to get caught. She couldn’t let anyone know she was alive, but she was glad he knew. He didn’t know if he would be able to keep the secret since Joey was in prison for killing her. She didn’t care about the person who tried to kill her. She wanted him to keep her secret so they could reconnect. He told her Allie knew the truth too. Ava didn’t think Allie would go to the police because of what she did. He wanted to tell Steve because he has stood by him. Steve walked in and was surprised to see Ava. Allie went home and told Nicole what she did to Tripp. Allie told her that she put a gun on him. She told Nicole that his mother stopped her from shooting him. Nicole thought it was impossible because Ava was dead. Allie said she wasn’t dead anymore.
