THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Thought I might find you here.

Happy Thanksgiving, honey. Same to you. Mom.

Come in. Thank you.

Is that new? Oh no, that was, uh, that was a, a gift from Susan Banks. I was, I was just thinking about her. I heard the news and I’m sorry. I know you two were close. Well, I’m sorry that I couldn’t host today. I just didn’t really feel like it. But did you have a nice time at the pub? I did. . And I wanted to share some news that I’m very thankful for.

Oh, I’m gonna be a dad.

If you’re looking for Eric, he’s out. Actually, uh, I came here to see you

Leftovers for you and Zander. Thank you, mom. I was hoping you would join us for dinner. Yes. So was I, but Xander wasn’t feeling well. I thought he might rally, but he stayed in bed all day. Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. Um, so where is he?

Here you are. You sure we’re right? Yes. I told you Jack in New York with Jennifer and Chad’s taken the children out there to be with them for the holiday from the old bat and her husband have been asleep for hours.

God, you look terrible. I feel terrible. Look quite, I dunno what I’m gonna do. I feel like my whole life is gonna go up and smoke. Okay. Look, we’ll just let’s calm down and, and just tell me the whole story. Yeah.

Like sands through the hourglass. So are the days of our lives.

Eric, I know how much you’ve always wanted a child of your own. It’s just, it’s wonderful news. I heard that you heard what? The hesitation No, I, I wasn’t. I, I didn’t. It’s okay. . I know what you’re thinking. Really? What am I thinking? Jada and I hardly know each other, and it probably wasn’t planned, which is all true.

But she did decide to keep the baby. Oh, and And you’re fine with that decision. It is complicated, but, but Kate of all people helped her with her decision and, uh, not that I know what Kate said to her. Okay. But, uh, uh, darling, you said it was complicated. What does that mean because of Nicole?

It’s been a long day, Nicole, and I’m pretty tired, so Yeah, of course. You’re tired. You’re, you’re in your first trimester and not to mention the triptofen. It looks like you were really having a nice Thanksgiving dinner. How would you know that? I stopped by earlier and I saw y’all sitting around the table sharing what you were grateful for, and I couldn’t help.

But over here at Eric say that you two were gonna raise the baby together. So if you were there, why didn’t you say anything? I didn’t wanna interrupt. So you just left. Well, I, I was afraid that I would spoil the heartwarming moment by bringing up the fact that Eric broke up with you a few days ago to be with me.

I went by your place, Steph said you’d gone out. Since you’ve been ignoring my calls, I figured I’d try and track you down. Well done Hernandez, putting those crack detective skills to work

I’m gonna need that statement about how my mother and Ava Lata wound up crashing through that guardrail and perishing and a raging in front.

You already know most of it. When I met up with Ava to pay the ransom, she lied and said my mother was dead. But then she turned up at the stra. Susan did

that. Psychotic bitch grabbed her and dragged her off a gunpoint. I pursued in my. He was swerved hard and

it’s just never meant to lead Jada on, of course, not. That isn’t who you are, mom. Jada saw Nicole and I kiss him. That’s why she decided that she wanted to end our relationship. Oh, how do you feel about that? I understand. I don’t blame her. I mean, but that doesn’t mean I’m walking away from my responsibility and I never told her what I thought she should do about the p.

Do you want the baby? Of course I do. I mean, people do it all the time, right? Co-parenting without living together, I mean, we just gotta figure a way to make it work together. Nicole and I can be together and that’s what we want. It’s just TA and I have to figure out how to raise this child. I just hope Nicole understands that and she’s okay about it.

So you’re here to what? Give me hell for ruining your little happily ever after. With Eric? No, Jada. I’m not here to give you hell. I I’m here to fight. To what? To make sure I understand that my co-parenting with Eric will never lead to anything else to make sure that we’ll be very business-like about it.

Well, let me be clear, Nicole. I have enough self-respect to not want to be with a man who’s in love with someone. And Eric knows that. I see. I’m assuming his intentions towards you haven’t changed, but you allowed to take that up with him. Dude, I, I’m so sorry. Eric and I never meant for this to happen. We never meant for you or RA to get hurt.

Oh, please just shut the hell. Excuse me. You heard me?

Why do I get the feeling? Because you’re still not telling me the whole story. I know. Detective White dude.

Well, this feels extreme. Even for Ava. I would ever drove her this far. I’ve got a hunch that it was more than some deal she made with you to leave town.

Who knows what drives a lunatic like Angel Vital. I guess I should say drove.

You’re hindering my investigation. Ej, I could arrest you for obstructing justice.

I won’t. Not after everything that you’ve been.

I appreciate that.

I see you’ve heard the news about Ava and Susie, the car wreck. Yeah, the spectators all over it. Right. You’re reporting. I went horribly wrong. How so? Oh, first that nosy body, Bonnie Keaker, she stumbled onto the shed, Ross Hole in Susan and Justin came home and I knew it was just a matter of time until he figured out that Bonnie was missing and they found both her and Susan.

I just, I should have taken that as a sign and ended the whole thing. Asco. But you wanted your payday. Yeah, exactly. So I managed to move Susan right before they rescued Bonnie. Well, so much for that. And Bonnie, she’s, she’s all right. Is she? It’s all right. As she Good, I suppose. But obviously Susan wasn’t Neely as lucky.

Uh, Xander went out to get some air. Hopefully he’ll be back soon and maybe then he’ll finally feel like eating something. Well, there were a lot of leftovers. No one, um, had much of an appetite tonight. How come? Oh, you know, the drama with Bonnie, I mean, I mean, thank God she’s all right. But you saw how upset she got when Rafe was questioning her.

Let me guess. Victor got on her case and ruined Thanksgiving dinner. Listen, as soon as we sat down to the table, poor Bonnie started having these flashbacks of this creepy clown holding her hostage and she got startled by the cork popping and, and her wine glass knocked into the gravy boat and it was just, oh God, it was downhill from there.

Or Bonnie, do the police have any leads on Ava’s accomplice? , as far as I know, all they have is Bonnie’s description of a muscle bound man and a clown mask. Blue business suit,

a blue business suit

kind of like this one.

What you offered. I didn’t expect you to take it. Commissioner Dudley do right? Drinking on the job,

Oh, what can I say? He’s spent a hell of a week. Rough one, huh? Yeah. I mean, obviously nothing compared to what you were going through, but

Nicole and I are getting divorced.

I’m sorry to hear that.

What thought? Considering how much you hate the two of us, he’d be gloating right now. I guess I’m not in the gloating mood.

So what happened? Wait, let me guess. It has something to do with Samantha’s twin brother.

And then I thought I’d come to terms with, uh, becoming a. And then there was a heartbreaking loss of McKenzie. I mean, I know I have nieces and nephews and, and Holly, it’s kind of where I feel that fate has intervened. It’s not too much to hope that all things can work out. Right, right. No, of course not.

You, you said that you’re hoping that Nicole will understand. So I guess you haven’t yet told her that Jada is pregnant and wants to keep the baby. No, I haven’t. And I know it’s a sensitive subject. Of course it’s because you, because you in a call want her to have a baby together. Yeah. And as you know, Nicole can’t have children cuz she can’t care to turn.

I just hope she didn’t feel threatened by this. How dare you? How dare I tell you? I’m sorry, . You’re not sorry. You got exactly what you wanted. So don’t pretend to feel bad for me or that you even care about me because you’re fake sympathy. It just makes it all worse. I’m sorry. I.

Imagine you’re me. I’m new to Salem. I meet this guy. He’s divorced. I’m divorced. His ex-wife seems to be happily remarried. This guy and I, we go on a few dates and we click, we have real chemistry. I be sure it moves, moves pretty fast. I’m, I’m living next door to him. We see each other every day, but. From what I can tell, he, he really likes me and I definitely like him, and so I, I think everything’s great.

But then all of a sudden, his, his, his ex-wife keeps coming around, keeps finding reasons to show up at his door. She even gives him a job. And she swears, she swears that there’s nothing going on between them. And then one day I show up at his office to pay him a visit, and I, I see him locking lifts with his ex, and then later that day, I find out that I’m pregnant with his baby.

So at the same time that he’s, he’s cutting me loose. I find out that I’m tied to this man for the rest of my life.

Really angry. Why the hell wouldn’t I be? Well, I would be too. So I, I, I hope you don’t mind me asking if this is how you feel, if this is how this guy makes you feel, then why would you wanna have a baby that ties you to him forever?

So many times I could have ended it. Greedy, cowardly. Look, Ava can be extremely scary. She’s insane. You know, she was operating outta the Dara crypt. I walked in there yesterday and I caught her talking to the walls. Goodness just got worse from there. And she finally lost it and ordered me to kill Susan.

What? What did you say? I refused, of course, but I was about to take Susan back up to the house when Ava ripped my mask off in front of Susan to give me more, I. In other words, if you didn’t kill Susan, Evan would know what you’d done. Sarah would know. In the end, I just,

I couldn’t bring myself to disappoint her yet again, and I, and I just, I let Susan, then what happened? I. Somehow Ava got Susan back and apparently the ransom handoff went bad. They got into a car chasing, driving off a cliff.

Zander, Zander. This is not your fault. You tried to save Susan. You, you helped her escape. You were not the one behind the wheel of that car. Of course, it was my fault. Agreeing to snatch Susan in the first place. If I hadn’t, Susan would still be alive.

So what are you talking to him about? That’s Sanders suit, his blue suit. Well, surely you don’t think that, I don’t know, mom. I mean, a lot of things are starting to add. Such as last night, Xander told me that he quit his job because his boss asked him to do something that was very wrong. So what was it? He was vague, but he did say that his boss was a woman.

Oh, come on. You don’t think the Xander is working for Ava mom? This sickness came on suddenly, as soon as he heard that Susan and Ava had died. You know that I love Xander and I, I want to believe in him, but he was under a lot of pressure to get this job, and he is the type of person that Ava would hire to do something like this.

Xander’s, not that man anymore. I didn’t think so either. Share why All the suspicion all of a sudden, because it, it doesn’t feel right. And an ethical boss feeling ill after hearing about a terrible tragedy. That doesn’t sound so strange to me. Okay. Then what about the fact that the kidnapper was keeping Bonnie and Susan in the Kiki shed?

Which is where Xander worked when he was the gardener. He knows the grounds. He knows how to get around unnoticed. And remember that Victor said that he had never heard of the company that Xander claimed he worked for. It was a startup, or maybe it doesn’t exist. Maybe Xander made up this job because he was working for Ava Vitali.

Yes, Cole and I are getting divorced because of Eric.

How’d you know? Now the two of them were destined to be together. Everyone knew,

it seemed like every time those two separated, they always ended up finding a way. Come back to each other.

I once thought Samantha and I had that kind of connection. Clearly I was mistaken.

Well, I’m not sure how unbreakable Nicole and Eric’s connection is. Seems like there’s already trouble in paradise.

Eric, this baby complicates things between you and Cole. I think you have to address this with her honey, and I think you’ve gotta do that very soon. Oh, mom, that’s where I was heading next actually. Good, good. Look, this will be. A difficult conversation to have and it could get complicated, but you know what?

You and Nicole have been through so much together and you love each other, so I, I just know you’ll find a way to work this out together.

I cannot believe you just asked me that. Well, it’s, it’s a legitimate. Look, Jada, I know you’re resentful of me. That’s putting it wildly, and I, I, I don’t blame you. I’m just trying to give you some perspective here. Okay. Look, I have been a single mother for years and believe me, my daughter was a surprise and I love her with my whole heart.

But you, you don’t wanna go into parenting with a negative attitude. I cannot ask for your perspective. Okay, that’s fine. I just wish someone had warned me. I’m sorry. Warned, this is the wrong word. I wish someone had painted a realistic picture of motherhood for me. What the hell is that supposed to mean?

It means it’s true what they say about babies. They change your life forever and you need to decide. Before it’s too late. If you’re ready for this change. If, if this is something that you really want, I mean, for example, have you even considered how this would affect your career? Brave told me that I can take leave anytime I want.

Okay, that’s wonderful. But how much of that leave will be paid? And not to mention before you have the baby, you’ll be sitting behind a desk for a. And for an ambitious young detective, that’s gotta be a big setback. Okay? Enough. And when you do go back to work, you’re gonna be exhausted and torn and, and crying all the time, and not just because of your hormones.

It’s guilt. It’s guilt because you love your job and you love your baby, and you try to put your whole heart into both and it’s impossible. And it, and it leaves you feeling bitter and, and not to mention depressed. And yes. We’ll be there for you a hundred percent, but even with that support, Jayda is, is the hardest thing I have ever done.

And of course, I’m, I’m gonna be in Eric’s life now, which means I’m gonna be in yours meant I am just trying to figure out a way to, to work this out, get. I am trying to help Jada. I’m just trying to help get out.

I am going to keep telling you this until you hear me. Zander, this was not your fault. Okay? Ava promised that Susan would not get hurt. Yeah, and I was stupid enough to believe her. I, I know Ava. Ava, and I think that when she hired you, she was telling the truth. This was supposed to be a simple kidnapping, but like you said, it took a horrible turn.

And if you would’ve known how this would’ve turned out, you never would’ve taken that job. You know, when I let Susan go, I, and I thought there’s a good chance she’d run straight to the cops and tell them that you were the one who took her. I almost confessed to Sarah, but then I remembered when Susan.

Begging for her life, she swore to keep her mask shut. But I thought, what if life, by some miracle, she doesn’t say anything. So you didn’t tell Sarah?

I just told her I quit my job and then I saw the news and I got my miracle. Susan will never say anything. Ever again. You didn’t want Susan to die and you did not kill her. Ah, but I, I terrorized her. I, I grabbed her, I drugged her. I tied her up. I I’m not a changed man, Gwen, and the same worthless piece of garbage I’ve always been.

Hi, Hey. That’s not true. Your intentions were good and honorable. This was about you being a supportive husband, a provider. I thing I’ve ever provided Sarah with his pain. I should just tell the truth. No, no. I have to. I This is no choice. No. Yeah. Hell, you don’t have a choice of snow. But Eva is dead and Susan is dead.

Bonnie never saw your face and I’m certainly not gonna bloody say anything. What do you mean that

I could have given you up the other night? I didn’t. I. Even after everything we’ve been through,

like I said to you before, Xander, I still care about you.

I understand you probably better than anyone. Which, um, I’m pretty sure is why you are here.

You trusted me with your secret, and I promise you is.

Sarah. Hmm, darling, when Zander first got his job at the pharmaceutical company, I was skeptical of his honesty at first because he, he wasn’t giving you any details. But now, now what? You, you think I should just believe him no matter what? I think then in this case, you. Letting your imagination run wild.

Xander has a blue suit, so do a million other men. I know. I know. No Lava Vitali was in the mafia. Okay. I’m sure she had a dozen. Muscle bowel enforcers on her payroll.

Honey, I’ve been married to a change man for a very long time, as you know, in spite of what I said to you the other day, which now I regret because. I never like it when people plant seeds of doubt with me regarding Victor’s behavior, artist honesty.

Anyway, the key is truth. To trust that your husband is being honest with you, unless you have overwhelming evidence to the contrary, you think that Xander’s being honest? Yeah, I think Xander loves you more than anything, and now that he has you. I don’t think he’d do anything to risk losing you again.

And now I need to get home to Victor . Okay. Thank you for the food. Oh, you are most welcome. Yeah. And everything is gonna be all right, sweetheart. I promise.

Have you, I love you more

travel and Paradise between St. Eric and her ex-wife to tell, yeah. Excuse me.

Yeah. Colin, what’s up? All right, I’ll be right there. Well, I’ve gotta head back to the station. Sure. I can’t persuade you to come with me. Maybe tomorrow. Definitely tomorrow fine. Okay. But tonight I’m going to sit here with my single malt and wallow just. Promise me you won’t get buying the wheel. My driver’s parked just down there.

All good. Good. And uh, be careful. It’s a blind turn right? Don’t wanna end up like my mother.

No.

What are you doing here? I didn’t draw a holiday shift. I wanted to catch up on some paperwork and, uh, clear my head. You okay? Yeah, it’s just, it’s been a day. Yeah. I hear ya. You’re not wearing your wedding ring. Yeah. Well, Nicole and I talked earlier. We had divorced. I’m sorry. Just figured no point in dragging it out now, even if.

Nicole doesn’t end up going back to her cuz of your pregnancy. My pregnancy will not be an issue.

Nicole. Hey, my God. Oh, I’m, oh, I’m so happy to see you. I was just trying to call you to see if we can meet up. I’m sorry I didn’t call sooner. Yeah. Uh, same. I just wanted to tell you. Jed has decided to have the baby. Oh yeah. But it won’t change anything between us. Ah, are you sure?

I know it’s alive and it’s all happening at once, but we can handle it. We always have whatever life throws at us, we always find a way to make it work. . Listen, Jada and I, our relationship is over and we’re gonna co-parent, and that’s it. I love you and only you,

I promise it’s gonna be okay.

Have you made a decision about the.

I have,

I was gonna go through with a pregnancy until I’ve had time to think about it, to consider what my life would really. Be like, if I did

and I realized,

realized what?

I can’t do it after all.

You feeling better? I, I am. Yeah. The fresh air me good. Good. I’m glad you were out in the cold for such a long time. You must be freezing. Not as bad as I thought. . , something smells good. What better than sweaty gym socks, that’s for sure. Yes. Mom brought us a bunch of leftovers so we can dig in if you have your appetite back.

Uh, I do, and I am starving. Just let me unpack this really quick. Before the cockroaches or any though, why is it right and I will just move your blue suit so we have somewhere to sit, something wrong with. I was just, uh, thinking that maybe over dinner you could tell me if you were the clown that kidnapped Bonnie and Susan.

That’s strange that happened.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Alex, what’s on this? Well, what does it look like?

You said there was a work emergency. There is. It’s Thanksgiving and you have been working way too hard and you promised me a second date, so this is it.

Okay, so, um, just, uh, pop it in the oven for 45 minutes and then let it cool before you serve. Oh, and, um, there’s homemade whipped cream in the fridge if you lift a bowl in there.

Thank you. The least I could do. So enjoy your dinner.

I guess this is goodbye.

Judah and I talked earlier and very thankful, very happy to announce that she has decided to have the. And she and I are looking forward to raising our child together.

Should I go help Kate and your dad with the dishes? Oh no. They got it covered. It’s just not my style to sit around and not help. Yeah. Well, you have an excuse. I do. Um, you’re pregnant. That . Yeah, that, well, it’s a little early to be playing that card, don’t you think? Especially considering that I’m still taking down bad guys as a badass police detective.

That’s a good point. But to be honest, I think it was my dad and Kate’s way of giving us some time to talk. Yeah, I, I picked up on that too. Good. So you can sit back and relax. Can I serve you another piece of. Now that I can do myself, you know, I just, I want to tell you how much I appreciate it, and I’m glad you stayed for Thanksgiving dinner.

I hope it wasn’t too awkward. It was a little but mostly nice. Much better than being alone on the holidays.

Ej, it’s Ray Fernandez. Sorry to bother you again. I know this is a difficult time, but it’s very important I get the full story of what transpired between you and Ava Vitale. I’d like to set up a time for you to come down to the station and give your statement. Or I can come to you, whatever would

like sand through the hourglass. So are the days of our lives.

Allow me. Thank you. You’re welcome. I know your parents are in Seattle with Trip. Can’t have you spending Thanksgiving all alone. Oh God. I feel so awful for Trip. Yeah, me too. Well, I hope you haven’t eaten already. Just a granola bar from the vending machine at the police station. Hmm. How’s Chanel doing?

She’s hanging in there. Abe was able to pull some strings so he and Allie and Polly know were able to have Thanksgiving dinner with her. Good. I’m glad. Speaking of Thanksgiving dinner, didn’t you already eat with your family? Yeah, but you know, it was kind of a hot mess. Bonnie’s still a bit traumatized over Ava and Susan, and she just keeps going on and on about how easily she could have been killed, but she wasn’t.

Thanks to you and your dad.

Ej

hi. Excuse me for interrupting a. Harold thought it might be all right if I came in. I,

I just wanna offer you my condolences. You and Johnny, um, Johnny’s out of town. I, I haven’t spoken with him yet. Oh, so he doesn’t know about Susan. I don’t think so, and I have no idea how I’m going to tell him, especially since this is all my fault.

So what can I expect from a Hernandez family? Thanksgiving? Well, it’s just gonna be me, you, and rave. So I think this is gonna be low key. Low key’s. Good. Right. No drama for a change. Hey Lee, can I get you a beer? Well, actually, Lee brought a really nice bottle of wine. Oh, we can have that for dinner. Yeah, I take a beer.

All right, J, you know what? Sure, why not. All right. Three beers coming up. Hey, thanks for inviting me. Yeah, man. Of course you know you’re gonna be family soon. Oh man. Oh my God. Where’s la? Is she in her room? Oh, she stayed over at Sunny’s after the parade. Oh, all right. I made her favorite cornbread with Jala.

Oh, um, sorry. She, uh, was talking with Holly about this cheesy Christmas movie they wanted to watch. I told her it was okay.

You upset? No, no, no. That’s just, uh, yeah. Nicole and Holly we’re here. Wouldn’t even be an issue. And they’re not here. You know why? Because Nicole is a ridiculously fickle person who doesn’t appreciate the amazing husband that she. Nicole ruined everything. I swear to you, one day she’s going to realize what an idiot she was for leaving you for Eric Brady.

She’s gonna regret the hell out.

Another benefit to being pregnant. . What is, oh, you’re eating for two. It’s almost like you got a free license to use as much as you want. , listen, pregnant or. I do not need permission for that.

What? Nothing. It’s, you know, I’m just really happy. I’m really happy you decide to keep the baby. I promise you, jd. I’m gonna be there for a kid. A hundred. I’m calling to be a good dad. I know. You’ll, and you said the other day that you already wanted to be a father. I, I did. Just never thought it was gonna happen.

You know, my life went different directions and I became a priest in a different kind of father . Right. And after you left the priesthood, oh, I just didn’t think it was in my cards.

What about you? You always wanna be a mom. My ex-husband and I, we discussed it, but we were so busy with our careers that we decided to put it off. Hmm. Which I’m glad we did because our marriage didn’t last. Sure we could have co-parented like you and I are going to do, but you would’ve been really complicated.

Hey, you were not gonna make this work. You believe that, right? Yeah, I do. But, but why? One? I just can’t help but wonder how Nicole’s gonna feel about this. I mean, what is she gonna say when she finds out that I decided to keep this baby?

Hey, Nicole, Helen. Hey, happy Thanksgiving. Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving. . Uh, how’s, uh, how’s Chanel? Did they let her out for the holiday or No, the bail didn’t come through in time. Oh, no, I, I’m so sorry you didn’t get to see her. Well, actually we did. Mm-hmm. , uh, all and my wonderful husband here made a Thanksgiving feast and they let us share with Chanel at the station.

Oh, I’m so glad to hear that. I’m sure she was so grateful. Well, uh, how about you and Holly? What’d you do for Thanksgiving? Well, she had dinner with Maggie and her family, and. Supposed to host a gathering with Rafe, but you know, we’re getting divorced now. Yeah. So sorry to hear about that. Yeah. I hate hurting him.

I was over at his place packing my things and it was, it was pretty tense. I bet it was. But, He let me help out by baking my mom’s pumpkin pie for his family. Well, nobody made a better pie than Faye Walker’s . Oh, again, now you didn’t let me finish. Nobody except my wife and my stepdaughter. That is the same.

Well, since you missed out on Thanksgiving dinner, I’m, Hey, well we grab a table and dig her to some leftovers. Uh, Melia. Are you sure? Yeah, of course. We sure. It’ll give us a chance to catch up and give me a chance to, uh, have a little bit more stuffing . . Well, that sounds lovely. Thank you. . Yes,

I wasn’t exactly a hero. I literally just walked in the shed with my dad and we found Bonnie. Well, you didn’t know what you were walking. , that freak in the clown mask could’ve been there. I wish he was. I think half of Salem bought out those Halloween masks. I, who knows if they’re ever gonna find the guy.

Well, if an Insane clown Posse breaks in here, I’m confident you’d protect me. Oh, definitely. You kidding me? I’m not letting any bozo. Get my girl . Anyway, let’s eat. . Wait, are you telling me that the Kriyas Klan doesn’t start with a clam chowder, appetizer? Something tells me you’re more a Cornish game hens than be blank gravy.

Okay. Whoa, you’re, you’re forgetting that I grew up in Adrian’s house. Me and my brother, we used to fight over these bad boys right there. Stephanie Johnson. You are about to indulge on a rare culinary delicacy. Grandma Joe’s stuffing muffin. Oh, you know about Grandma Joe stuffing muffins . Yes. We’ve eaten them only every year.

I thought I was about to blow your mind now, Alex, you did blow my mind. I thought I was going to spend tonight alone eating a microwave frozen Turkey dinner, but now my Thanksgiving is truly complete.

Mm-hmm. . Mm-hmm. . Mm-hmm. . Mm-hmm. . Oh.

How could you possibly be responsible for Susan’s death? I mean, for what I understand Ava kidnapped her and then drove the car off the road. She did all that to retaliate against. punished me for what I did to her. What did you do? I found out that her and my brother’s marriage wasn’t real. She faked the whole thing as part of some scheme with Gabby Hernandez, and so I exposed her, took back all her shaz of the mirror and left it with nothing.

Well, she, she can’t possibly blame you for that.

She was committing fraud. I thought I didn’t stop there.

I bashed her from Salem.

Johnny was starting to develop feelings for Ava and I didn’t want her anywhere near my son, so I threatened her in prison. If she ever returned. Needless to say she didn’t comply. She came back and kidnapped Susan.

She demanded a huge ransom and I arrogantly thought I could out maneuver out. All I did was provoke her father, and now my mother is dead.

Ej, please don’t blame yourself for this. How can I? Huh. My ego, my vindictiveness, my absolute refusal to relinquish control is what got my mother killed. Just like it. Got advocate or killed. Oh, no. No. I thought I could handle ply on my own.

Was fighting my time to get my revenge. And Abigail is dead because of it, and it so easily Could have been your daughter. Yes, bill told me. But there’s no way that, that you’re responsible for what, what Clive did or what Ava did. I am responsible for my own action.

I should have told Chad right away that Clyde threatened our family, but instead of sharing what I knew, trusting my own brother so that we could work together to neutralize the threat, I was prideful and selfish. Now, Chad is a widower with. I didn’t speak up with Eva. I didn’t listen. Tony begged me, begged me to pay the ransom, but once again, I knew best both times it was all about me and two innocent women paid the price.

Tony warned me. Warned me that Ava was dangerous and unpredictable, but I, I had to show her I had to win,

declare Czech mint, so while I was running around playing stupid games. My mother was locked up somewhere. Scared out of her mind. You did the very best you could. No. No, I didn’t. I let down the one person who loved me unconditionally my entire life. I could have saved her, but I didn’t.

I didn’t. Ej ej, you’re right about part of that. Your mother loved you unconditionally. She would never wanna see you punishing yourself like this. She wouldn’t, she wouldn’t wanna see it happen,

maybe. Alright. But I was a terrible son.

She deserves so much better.

Cook did a good job with these. Mm-hmm. , maybe a little bit too much sage, but, Hmm. Tasted great to me. Hmm. Well, I have a very sophisticated tongue pal. I mean, palate, . I’m in palate. I bet you too. Hmm. There’s one left. Come on. I know you want it. . I, I couldn’t possibly have another bite. I think you can. Okay.

You ready? You are not feeding me, Alex. All right, fine.

I am all about respecting your boundaries. Ah, go. My God, he’s a GOs mcal. Oh my God. Hmm hmm. So I’m assuming Nicole is spending Thanksgiving with. I don’t know. She didn’t say what her plans were when she was here earlier. Wait, Nicole was here earlier. Why? Yeah. She came to pack up some of her things and, and she made a pumpkin pie.

Oh, I love pumpkin pie. You came, hold on a second. So she, she dumps you for another man and then she thinks that baking is gonna make it all better. You, you should have shoved that pie right in. Actually, after she left, I did throw it in the trash. Good. Oh wait. Um, there’s no pie. All right. Look, I am not exactly Nicole’s biggest fan right now, but she, I mean, she was just trying to help.

She feels guilty. Well, she should feel guilty. She should be consumed with. You, you’re with me, right, Lee? Look, she took your heart. She broke it into a million pieces and where she’s gonna live, happily ever after. With Eric, maybe not,

you know, call. She understands how much I’ve wanted a child. She’ll be okay with it. Are you sure about that? The man she’s in love with is having a baby with another woman. How could that not be hard? Well, I never said it was gonna be easy, but I will make it clear that it’s, she’s not gonna affect our relationship.

She’ll definitely be supportive if you say so. You’re doubting that, look, I’m not trying to throw shade, but real talk. The Nicole Walker that I’ve seen is incredibly insecure and territorial. There is no way she’s gonna take this news and.

You’re not eating much. I know. It can’t be the food. Ah, no. Everything’s delicious. Something wrong.

It’s just that, uh, before I, I ran into you, I had gotten some upsetting news. What happened? I don’t know if you know, but Jada Hunter is pregnant with Eric’s baby. Oh, good. Gravy. We hadn’t heard. She found out around the same time Eric ended things with her to be with me. Oh, now that’s some unfortunate timing.

Yeah, I, she wasn’t sure if she was going to keep it, and then I walked in and overheard her and Eric telling Kate and Roman they were gonna have the baby and they. Raise this child together. That’s a big decision. I mean, it kind of ties them together in a certain way. Yeah, it sure does. Oh, well, honey. Well, but what does Eric say about your relationship?

Nothing. I mean, I, I ran outta there before he saw me, but it seemed pretty clear Eric’s gonna dump me and stay with Jada and the baby.

I must have been a great disappointment to my. She worked so hard to mold me into a good person. What all she got was an egotistical, ruthless son of a bitch. No, I can tell you for a fact you were never a disappointment to your mother. You were the love of her life. She was so proud of you. She would talk about.

How charming you were. What a good son. What a good father. I think she was a bit biased. Yeah. . Only because she loved you. So

you know, from the day you were born, you were the center of her life. You,

you were Elvis. You are a beloved son.

You know, it was funny. Um, mother was often scared of a very unha, but when it came to protecting her family, she was fearless. Well, You never wanna underestimate the mother’s love for her child. Jada is pregnant with Eric’s baby. She is. I love it. Nicole and the kids what she deserves. Gabby, come on. You can’t tell me he doesn’t warm your heart.

That karma gives her a swift kick in the ass. There is a baby involved. This is a tough situation for. or hear me out, this could be a great situation for Jada. Maybe her and Eric will finally get together again, and that will leave Nicole with no one, which actually warms my heart to no end. Gabby, I know you’re trying to be supportive of your brother, but I, I’m not so sure this is helping.

I, I, I might the only one seeing the bigger picture here. Okay, cool. What are you doing? I am going to send Jada and Eric. Hey, baby. No, no, no. You are not. Why not? No. Well, for one thing, you don’t send baby gifts until around when the baby is born like a baby shower. Is that not true? Oh, I guess, yeah, I guess it is.

Yeah. And for another thing, we are not gonna gloat. Okay. Why think about Nicole. I mean, it’s Thanksgiving right now. Okay? I do not wanna be thinking about my soon-to-be ex-wife. Can we just focus on happier things? Yeah, yeah. Like our upcoming wedding. Yes, exactly like your upcoming wedding. That’s fine. I’d rather talk about us anyway.

I’m glad to hear it. Ted. You know what, I actually, I wanna make a toast. It’s my little sister and her fiance. I’m really happy for you two. Well to love and to laughter forever sa sad Salu salo.

I really thought Eric and I were finally gonna be together and put all our troubles behind us. Mm. Honey, I’m so sorry. Oh, what a miss. Yeah, especially because. Always wanted children so much, and we all know how old fashioned he is, so I think he feels he owes it to the baby to be with a mother. Plus, he and Sammy came from a broken home and we all know how messed up she is, and he just doesn’t want the baby to turn into another.

Sammy, you know, you need to talk to Eric about this. Yeah. Well, I would’ve liked to have had this discussion before he and Jada told the world that she was carrying his baby. I do agree with you. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. My Eric needs a, a chance to explain, Ben, maybe he misunderstood. Oh, no, I understood.

And like I said, it’s crystal clear. I’m out and Jada and the baby are in.

Now I’m gonna talk to Nicole. I honestly believe that we’re not gonna have a problem with her. Is this like a faith thing? No, it’s just, you know, once I talk to her, I’ll make sure she knows that she has nothing to worry about that. You gotta trust me on this. Okay. I trust you. Thank you. Are you sure you don’t want any help cleaning up?

Oh, no, I got it. Well, in that case, I think I should probably head upstairs and finish packing. Whoa. Whoa. What’s the. Well, I know I said I would stay until the end of the month, but now I’m thinking I should probably move out tomorrow since I have the date off. Well, you know what I’ve been thinking now that you’ve decided to have the baby, maybe you should move out.

After all.

I don’t get it. Why shouldn’t I move out? Well, You know, I mean, if it’s okay with you, I, I just wanna be involved with this pregnancy as much as I can. I mean, I could take your doctor appointments or, or, or, or birthing classes, just whatever. I mean, it’ll be a lot easier if you were close by. It’s not like I’m moving out of the state.

You can still be involved even if I’m not living down the hall. Yeah, I know. But what if you have a late night craving? I could, you know, I could come to the kitchen. And you know you’re gonna just need a lot more help once the baby comes again. What about Nicole? I never said that we weren’t gonna have to figure things out, but by the baby’s sake, we’re just gonna have to put our best foot forward.

Well, you know, I can, and I know you can. . Nicole doesn’t even know that we decided to keep this baby. Yeah, but I’m gonna talk to her soon. I’m, you saw how wonderful it went with my dad and Kay. Right. That’s a little different. That’s the point is, is that a baby can bring people together. Just, you know what?

Let’s just give it a chance. Let’s take it step by step.

Okay. I’ll stay for now.

Go. You know, I think you should go back over to the pub and talk to Eric. What? I just can’t crash his family’s Thanksgiving dinner. They’d be glad to see. What, what am I supposed to say? Oh, I overheard you telling your dad you’re done with me. And you know, besides, he should be reaching out to me. I’m the one who.

Handed my marriage to be with him. Okay. Now that part I agree with. This is all Eric. Now is not the time to stand on pride. Maybe not, but the boy’s going to break up with her then he is going to have to make the first step. We have no idea if that’s what Eric is planning,

you should go and talk to him. Abraham, me, you. Yeah, you, you know, you’re basically his uncle. What would I say? Well, you can start off by telling him, he’s being a big dummy. I don’t think that’s my place. Why not? I mean, Nicole’s like a throw to you, right? Yes. Yes, she is. And while I would view almost anything for you, I just don’t think I should interfere in this.

Yeah, I understand. Well, I don’t, you are not going to put Eric in his place then. I will.

That was quite possibly the best Turkey dinner I have ever had. Wow. Even without the gilet and gravy. Thank you for doing this. It was amazing. It’s my pleasure. Did you save room for dessert? I really couldn’t eat another. Really, may I present an alternative? Mm-hmm. , go for it.

I know this was probably an unconventional second date. Probably not what you had in mind, right? But I promise you, I’m going to up my game next time. Bungee jumping skydiving , Alex? Yes. It was perfect.

You and my mother had quite an unlikely friendship.

She was so warm and compassionate, and her enthusiasm was contagious. She suddenly did idolize. Her beloved, Dr. Marena, Evan. Hmm. She made me a gift when I got married. She made a doll that looked exactly like me. . Oh, certainly does sound like Mother , but she went to such trouble for it. I mean, she even made a, a minia.

Dress of the gown that I was wearing when John and I got married in 1999.

I think it was the most touching gift I had ever been given.

I wish told her there’s a lot. I wish I told her.

Well, certainly I inherited many qualities from my father, my ambition, my temper, but if I have any good in me at all, it came from my mother.

She was the best.

I have to tell. That was a lot better than pumpkin pie. Mm-hmm. , how about a second? Don’t mind if I do.

Oh, then I should be just about ready. You guys can go sit at the table. Are you sure you don’t wanna. Well, no. Come on man. What kind of host would I be if I made you guys clean up? Okay, well then we’ll see you in there. Alright? Okay. I get that there’s no pie, but does that mean there’s no dessert at all?

Come on.

Thank you so much. Mm-hmm. , Paulina for wanting to help but Abe’s right. I, I, I really should deal with Eric on my own su. Abe . Thank you for dinner. . I’m sorry that he’s such a donor. You are not a Don . You were a bit of a donor. , what’s your title? Why don’t you come over without place and have some coffee?

Thank you. I just think I wanna be alone for a little while. Okay, honey. But you know, if you need anything, anything at all, don’t hesitate to call. Thank you so much for saying that, especially with everything that Chanel’s going. And Paulina, I’ll be praying for her. Come on. Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Oh, what’s her? One less piece of advice. Now. I still think Eric is making a big mistake if he stays with Jada out of some sense of obligation. But honey, if you love him, then you can’t just sit. And let ’em slip away. You two have been through too much for you to give up without a fight.

I know I said I was going to unpack, but I think I could use a nap first. Oh, yeah. It sounds like a good plan. You need to rest. So are you going to see Nicole? I will. I just, I’d stop by and see my mom first. Tell her about the good news with the baby and all. She just lost a dear friend. I was just hoping I could help lift her spirits.

Interview with Dennie Gordon, director of “Last Light” on Peacock by Suzanne 8/30/22

I don’t often speak to directors (or writers, for that matter), so it was great to speak to this amazing woman. Her bio (below) is very impressive. I really enjoyed speaking with her. You can watch “Last Light” here!

MORE INFO:

Dennie Gordon, director of "Last Light" on PeacockDennie Gordon has been a trailblazing female director her entire career; spanning the worlds of feature films, television series, mini-series and branded content. Her range of genre busting entertainment spans an unusual spectrum of comedy and drama. After being one of the first women to graduate from Yale’s School of Drama with an MFA in Directing, Gordon first gained recognition when “A Hard Rain” was chosen by Showtime’s Discovery Program. Thanks to Steven Spielberg, a rough cut of her film attracted the attention of George Lucas who donated the film’s mix at Skywalker Ranch. “A Hard Rain” , which Gordon also wrote, went on to win dramatic awards at the British Short Film Festival and the Hampton’s Film Festival. This film also caught the eye of David E. Kelley who enlisted Gordon to helm multiple episodes of his television series including “Goliath”, (where she was Co EP) “Picket Fences”, “Chicago Hope”, “Ally McBeal”, and “The Practice”. Gordon has directed over 100 hours of network television including such critically acclaimed series as “Legion”, which was on many critic’s lists as a top 10 show of 2017, with the “astounding direction of Dennie Gordon and her twisted visionary imagery taking the X-Men universe to a whole new level”. Her other work includes “Bloodline”, “Rectify Empire”, “Kingdom”, “Power”, “Hell on Wheels”, “Grace & Frankie”, “The Office”, “30 Rock”, Aaron Sorkin’s “Sports Night”, and HBO’s “Tracey Takes On”, for which Gordon won the DGA Comedy Award. Gordon directed the comedy cult hit “Joe Dirt” starring David Spade, and Christopher Walken, and “What A Girl Wants” starring Oscar Winner Colin Firth, Dame Eileen Atkins, and Jonathan Pryce. Gordon was the first American woman to direct a film for the domestic Chinese market, called “My Lucky Star”. The 2013 film starred Oscar nominee Zhang Ziyi and Wang Leehom and was filmed in China and Singapore in the summer of 2012. “My Lucky Star” was the number one film in China for 4 weeks on 5000 screens.

Gordon is a sought after commercial director having completed campaigns for Honda, Toyota, Tsingtao beer and Xcel Energy as well as campaigns with Jimmy Fallon, Betty White, Adam Devine and Don Cheadle. It was very nice to speak with Amber. She’s such an accomplished actor. All three women I spoke with on this junket were really kind – and complimentary to their fellow actors, directors and crew. You should check out the miniseries because Amber has a great role in it. All the characters are outstanding. You can watch it here!

Joanne Froggatt of "Last Light" on Peacock

Interview with Joanne Froggatt of “Last Light” on Peacock by Suzanne 8/30/22

It was great to interview Joanne. I’ve admired her work for years in British shows like “Robin Hood,” “Liar” and “Angela Black.”  Of course, she’s most well known for “Downton Abbey,” but I never saw that one.  She couldn’t have been nicer in our interview, as you’ll see. She does her usual great job in Peacock’s “Last Light,” which is a thriller. You can watch it here!

How to Watch Days of Our Lives on Peacock!

Steve and Roman looking at a laptop

HOW TO WATCH DAYS ON PEACOCK TV! by Suzanne

Friday, September 9 is the last date that “Days of Our Lives” will air on NBC! We’re sure you’ve already heard this by now. It’s moving to PeacockTV! It will start airing there Sept. 12.

Feeling lost? Don’t worry, we’re all in this same boat!  Most of us didn’t grow up with streaming technology and streaming TV shows.  We’re here to help you. We know – you just want to keep watching your favorite soap, but you’re not sure how this all works.

First, you might find your answers here in this article about streaming. Go read that first! Don’t worry if it’s still confusing.

PeacockTV is a streaming service owned by NBC/Universal. They also own NBC, Syfy, USA Network, E! Telemundo and other cable networks.  PeacockTV is neither a broadcast network like NBC, nor is it a cable network like the others. It’s online only; AKA streaming.  That means you must have some kind of internet in order to access it. Now, you may have that internet already and not realize it. If you’re on Facebook, do email, or get Netflix on your SmartTV, then you probably already have it.

If you’re completely confused about all of this, I would recommend that you find someone you know that is tech-savvy (possibly a son, daughter, nephew, niece or grandchild, or whomever you call when you have computer or electronic problems) and get them to set it up for you. It will save you a lot of hassle and headaches.

PeacockTV is just another streaming service, like Netflix, HULU, Amazon Prime, Paramount+, Disney+ and others.  These services are only accessible via the internet, but they’re a lot more so than they used to be.  Did you know that people over 50 are the fastest-growing audience for streaming services? So you’re not alone.

Now, you may decide that it’s too expensive to have a streaming service. That’s up to you, of course. You may also consider getting rid of your cable or satellite and just having a few streaming services. Some of them, like HULU and YouTube, have live TV… not just movies and TV shows that you can watch any time. Also, a lot of services are doing bundling now to make them cheaper, so you might want to go to Google and research what options you have.

At any rate, “Days of Our Lives” is moving to PeacockTV as of Sept. 12 and will no longer be available on NBC at all.  The upside is that you will probably be able to watch it sooner than you could before. Most TV shows on streaming drop in the early morning.  Also, you can watch them at any time after that – no more having to use your DVR, DVD recorder or VCR if you want to keep a copy for later. Lastly, you can watch many older Days episodes as well as thousands of other shows.

There are three different choices for Peacock services: Free, Premium and Premium Plus. Unfortunately, you can’t watch Days on the Free plan.  The whole reason they’re moving it to PeacockTV is because they can no longer afford to air it for free. (More on that below.)  You can only watch it by subscribing to the Premium service, which is $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year if you pay ahead of time.  The second one is cheaper.  If you get Premium Plus, you will have no commercials. There are other benefits as well, so click on the link to see the options.

However, if you sign up in September, 2022, as a new member, you can get the premium service for only $1.99 a month or just $19.99 for a year. Great deal!

The easiest way to sign up is on a computer, if you have one. Go to  https://www.peacocktv.com and put in your email address to sign up for the free service.  From there, you can check it out and see how it works. OR you can scroll down and click on the purple boxes for Premium or Plus. This will take you to a page with a form to fill out. Once you’ve created your account, you’ll need to give them a credit card for the payment.

If you don’t have a computer, then you can use your phone or tablet. Simply download the Peacock app; once it’s installed, open it and register there the same way as described above.  If you have an Android device, then you can find apps in the Play Store. If you have an Apple iPhone or iPad, then your apps are in iTunes. (Again, you can get help from someone if you don’t know how to do this)  Android has help, and so does Apple. Your cell phone provider may also be of help. For instance, if your phone is with Verizon, you can phone Verizon technical support for help.

If you want to watch Peacock on your TV, then you’ll need a Smart TV or some external device that attaches to your TV, such as a ROKU or Firestick. These are pretty cheap. You can find them very cheap at Wal-Mart or Amazon.

I have a ROKU, and it’s very easy to connect to your TV. I’ve heard that the Firestick is also very easy. With both of these devices, you can watch many streaming channels, not just PeacockTV (and there are many free ones as well).

If you have a computer, you can also hook it up to your TV using an HDMI cable or by using a Google Chromecast device to stream from your computer to your TV. An HDMI cable is pretty cheap. If your laptop doesn’t have an HDMI port, you may need to get an adapter.

Once you have it hooked up, and you’re watching PeacockTV, do a search for “Days of Our Lives” if it’s not already showing up near the top. When you’re there in the Days section, Click on “My Stuff” and then you’ll always have it there in that list, easy to access.

If you need any help, you go to their help page.  If you can’t find what you need there, go to this page for live chat or to send them a message. Feel free to contact us if you need further help!

If you already have the free Peacock plan, then you need to upgrade.  There should be a link on the Peacock app or site on your device that says “account” or if you’re on a computer, go to https://www.peacocktv.com/account/plans Click on “change or cancel plans.” It should be obvious from there…. if you’re on the free version, you might have to add your credit card in order to upgrade.

There are many rumors flying around the internet about this move. NBC/Universal is not trying to be “greedy.” They have a business to run, like anyone else. They’re in the TV business. Whenever they air a TV show, they have pay for it by getting money from sponsors (commercials). If the show’s ratings are too low, then they can’t get money from the sponsors. Their local affiliates will not want to air low-rated shows, either. If they can get more money by airing local shows or re-runs, they will. By moving Days to Peacock, they’re trying to save it rather than cancel it. They’re well aware that it has a long history and millions of fans worldwide. However, right now barely over a million people actually watch it every day. (It’s not just Days that has low ratings – all the daytime soaps are doing poorly in the ratings)  They’re hoping that moving it to Peacock will bring more subscribers and more viewers to the show.  Boycotting NBC or sending them nasty letters will not do any good (even if that makes you feel good).

I’m sure that the network is sad that they will lose some viewers because some won’t be able to watch Days any more because they can’t afford the extra fee or because they don’t have dependable internet. They didn’t have a choice, though, to keep it on NBC… it was this or cancel it. They’re a business and must sometimes make these tough decisions.  It’s not fair, we know…but it’s not fair to expect them to keep losing money, either.

The show will be available on the W Network and other places in Canada. Click on the link to see the details. For other countries, Google it to find out!

Days Opinion Article 6/12/22

Opinion Article

Chad, Abigail, Thomas and Charlotte in "Days of Our Lives" on Peacock

Another storyline has gone wrong on “Days of Our Lives.” With so many tragedies and heartbreak in our society now, we look for a soap opera to brighten up our day and bring us some happiness when we’re watching. The murder of Abigail Dimera just makes us think about children losing a mother, growing up without a mother and having hardship in their life. No matter how rich the DiMeras are, this will be a tragedy for Thomas and Charlotte. I believe you do not break up a very strong couple whom we have seen grown up on the show. I do know the actress, Marci Miller wanted out, but that does not mean that the writers had to really bounce her out by murdering her character. Destroying the lives of Jennifer and Jack and her brother JJ, whom adored her is reprehensible. This is not romantic, fun or interesting.

Days has to come back to family togetherness and characters that are bringing joy to the show. I do agree some episodes are interesting, like Paulina covering for Lani in the shooting of TR, and Belle and EJ having a love affair. But these are good episodes without murdering any of the characters. A note to the writers: please bring more family episodes that can make your viewers smile, to bring joy and lighten up problems that most viewers are facing in real love.

Primetime TV Review: Girls5eva

TV Review!

“Girls5eva” Review on by Eva 5/17/2021

I thought this show sounded interesting so I thought I would watch it. A one-hit wonder girl group from the 90’s makes a brief come back because famous rapper Lil Stinker decides to use a part of their song in one of his rap songs. The ladies get the group back together to do the Tonight Show because Jimmy Fallon thinks its a good idea for the ladies to sing back-up for Lil Stinker ( Jeremiah Craft) when he appears on the show. The appearance goes well and since the ladies haven’t done much since the group split ip, they decide to make a comeback because people still want to hear them sing.

The cast includes Sara Bareilles (Dawn Solano), Paula Pell (Gloria Mcmanus), Renee Elise Goldsberry (Wickie Roy) and Busy Phillips (Summer Dutkowsky) have great chemistry together and really seem like good friends who have not seen each other in a long time and are trying to reconnect with each other. What I enjoyed most about the show where cameos by people like Jimmy Fallon and Dolly Parton will appear in a future episode. The show also has great music which sounds like it comes from the 90’s but is written for the show.

I think this show is a bit corny and uses the F Bomb when it really doesn’t need to do so. The show is already funny so useless profanity isn’t needed in the show. I think if you grew up in the 90’s, you will love the show but if you didn’t grow up in the 90’s the show won’t make any sense to you.

I give this show a 4 out of 5 stars. It is worth watching if you just want to watch some good mindless television. You can binge all eight episodes on the weekend or watch them one at a time when you need a break from the stress of life.

MORE INFORMATION:

Peacock Original comedy GIRLS5EVA will premiere Thursday, May 6. All eight episodes will drop at once on Peacock.

· When a one-hit-wonder girl group from the 90’s gets sampled by a young rapper, its members reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot. They may be grown women balancing spouses, kids, jobs, debt, aging parents, and shoulder pain, but can’t they also be Girls5eva?

· The series stars Grammy(R) Award-winner and Tony(R) and Emmy(R) Award-nominated singer Sara Bareilles, Grammy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Renée Elise Goldsberry, Emmy(R) winning “Saturday Night Live” mainstay and comedy icon Paula Pell, and New York Times Best-Selling author, actor, activist, writer and host Busy Philipps.

· Meredith Scardino serves as creator and executive producer for the series. Jeff Richmond, Tina Fey (Little Stranger, Inc.), Robert Carlock (Bevel Gears), David Miner (3 Arts Entertainment), Eric Gurian (Little Stranger) also serve as executive producers. Girls5eva is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Interview with Miguel Chavez

TV Interview!

Miguel Chavez of "A.P. Bio" on Peacock

Interview with Miguel Chavez of “A.P. Bio” on Peacock by Suzanne 10/6/20

This was a fun interview. Miguel interviewed me first before I interviewed him! He seems very nice and we had a great time.

Suzanne:   So, take us back to the beginning to when you auditioned for your role of Eduardo on AP Bio. How did that go?

Miguel:   Yes. So, the audition process was very typical to how an actor goes out for a role. My agent, my manager, emailed me the the audition notification. I got the sides for – if you really I don’t know what sides are, sides are the material that you’re given to prepare for the audition. And I went into Wendy O’Brien casting. Wendy O’Brien is the casting director; she’s a very, very lovely woman. And when I auditioned for the show, my first thought looking, researching the show was, “Oh, I can see myself in the role of this show.”So, for better or for worse, I could see myself being with a bunch of dorks. And what ended up happening, was I auditioned, and I felt like I did good. I felt like I understood the humor that they were going for, and I let it go. You know, you’ve auditioned so many times, you just have to let it go. So, that’s what I did. Like a day later, two days later, I get the message from my reps that I am strongly pinned for the roll, which means that I’m like the number one pick. On the Thursday of the week of my audition – I auditioned on a Tuesday – Thursday of that week, I find out that I got the part. And I was excited, nervous. It’s just a really bizarre feeling when you get a job finally. And then Friday, I go to my first table read with the whole cast and crew as member of the show.

Suzanne:   That’s cool. And you came in during the second season, right?

Miguel:   Yes, I did. I came in during the second season of AP Bio. I was a little nervous, because the cast knew each other, but you know what? They were really kind.

Suzanne:   So, did it kind of feel like going to a new school?

Miguel:   Yeah, actually. That’s a great question. It really felt like going to a new school. You want to be liked; you want to be respected. You want to keep your job, but fortunately, I’ve had enough life happen to me where I could keep things in perspective. And what mattered to me most was serving the story, serving my crew, and just being professional on set.

Suzanne:   Great. So, they made you feel welcome.

Miguel:   They did, and Barbara Stoll, our producer, works very hard to create a very safe environment on set.

Suzanne:   Oh, good, good. And I see that you’re from Rancho Cucamonga. I used to live in Riverside for a while.

Miguel:   You did? No you didn’t.

Suzanne:   No I did for about eight years. We went to a Quakes game in Rancho Cucamonga once.

Miguel:   That’s amazing.

Suzanne:   Is that where you grew up?

Miguel:   Yes, that is where I grew up. As a matter of fact, I’m staying in Rancho right now during this quarantine.

Suzanne:   Okay, that’s cool. Did you go to Quakes games when you’re growing up?

Miguel:   You know what, maybe I went to one, but my family was never much of a baseball family. So, we didn’t go to a Quakes – I should go though. I would like to before I leave Rancho,  just to experience more of my local hometown stuff.

Suzanne:   Right. Well, when when we were in Riverside, they had – I can’t remember the name. Oh, first we had the Red Wave, and then it was the Riverside Pilots. So, we would sometimes go to their other games, like Lake Arrowhead and all that. It was right down the street from us. So, it was something to do.

Suzanne:   So, you’re living in Rancho Cucamonga right now because of the pandemic, or do you have another place?

Miguel:   That is correct. Yeah. You know what, being in LA was was the plan, but this pandemic happened. So, I just moved back in with my folks during this pandemic.

Suzanne:   Yeah, might as well. Right?

Miguel:   Might as well. A lot of people are doing it. I mean, you know, pandemics happen.

Suzanne:   So, how is Eduardo different from you?

Miguel:   Eduardo, I like to think, well, Eduardo dresses way differently from me. He dresses like he’s a grandpa, you know, with corduroy pants, like a button down dress shirt and a sweater vest. So, that’s how he dresses. His sense of style isn’t really there. So, I like to think mine is slightly better than his. We’re both really similar. He’s just like an extreme version of me, like he’s super awkward. I’m not super awkward, but I can be awkward. He’s super nervous around girls. I can get nervous, but not as much as Eduardo. But we’re both very kind people, and we both have our friend’s back.

Suzanne:   Cool. And have you heard yet whether there’s gonna be a season four?

Miguel:   You know what, I am just a mere actor on the show. I have not heard yet. I’ve heard the reviews for season three are really great, and our show does show numbers in regards to streaming views. However, I haven’t heard anything.

Suzanne:   Okay. I read quite a few reviews, and they were pretty much all positive. The ones that I read.

Miguel:   Yeah, there were really positive reviews.

Suzanne:   If someone hasn’t watched all of season three yet, which episode would you tell them to watch that features Eduardo the most?

Miguel:   That’s a great question. The episode that I would recommend people watch the most is an episode where my character and my best friend – because all my episodes, pretty much the thing about me in the show, it’s more of me and my best friend doing things, and my duo, best friend is Victor (Jacob Houston) in the show, and getting into shenanigans is our issue. So, I would recommend what people watch, is “Get Hoppy.” That’s a really fun episode from season three.

Suzanne:   Okay. I just watched the first two before your call, and I was grimacing when you had the throwing star stuck in your leg. I was like,”Ooh.”

Miguel:   Oh, that’s funny. So many things happen on set you forget about them, but yeah, pretty much our props guy, David Hect, he runs props on my show, and he’s a wonderful man. He just strapped a belt to my leg, and he attached a shooting star to it, or whatever it’s called. And that’s how they did it.

Suzanne:   I was very glad when she pulled it out that it didn’t have blood gushing out. But that would be a very different show.

Miguel:   That’s that’s like off brand, like HBO, and we’re not actually that way.

Suzanne:   That’s right. And do you have any other projects that you were working on either before or after the pandemic started?

Miguel:   I’m just writing. Right now I have my writing partner. Michael Goldenberg and I are just writing a workplace comedy about tour guides at a studio. I used to be a tour guide at Paramount Pictures, so we know that world pretty well.

Suzanne:   Paramount, I haven’t been to that one. I grew up when Universal was the big one that everybody went to. Before it had all the rides and everything, it was just a studio tour. Then I think I went to Warner Brothers, because we were near there or somebody wanted to go. I’ll have to check Paramount out. Do they still have a tour?

Miguel:   Yeah, I think you’d really like it. It’s a really lovely tour, and the tour guides are a bunch of sweethearts, and you get a really good experience. It really gives you the classical field of Hollywood, Hollywood what it used to be.

Suzanne:   Well, they say, ‘Write what you know,” so sounds like you’re doing that.

Miguel:   Yeah, so I know a lot about that life.

Suzanne:   What do you think that you want to get involved in, in the future? As far as acting, directing, writing, what else?

Miguel:   You know, there’s so many things I want to do, and this is a very crazy industry I’m in. What I try to tell myself, is just to let my career blossom in front of me and just be pleasantly surprised by the roles I get. And now I just try to do that. I mean, I would love to play I don’t know, the detective in this or that, but I mean, there’s just so much that’s out of my control that I just have to have a sense of surrender when I go out for roles. Fortunately, I get to play roles that are different from me and that surprise me. I didn’t think I’d get cast as Eduardo, but in retrospect, I should know my work, and he’s been a lot of fun to play.

Suzanne:   Good. And so what have you been doing to keep busy during the pandemic?

Miguel:   You know, a lot of exercise. Yeah, I built the gym in my garage and just a lot of exercise. I’ve never had so much structure, so just exercising every day and reading a lot of books.

Suzanne:   What are you reading right now?

Miguel:   Right now I’m reading The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. I’m rereading that book.

Suzanne:   Oh, rereading. Yeah, I [read] that a long time ago. I should reread that one of these days.

Miguel:   Yeah. What about you? Do you like to read?

Suzanne:   I do, but I haven’t had much time to read. I have a Kindle, and it’s got about a thousand books on it I haven’t read. I read a lot in the past, but yeah, I need to get back to it. Yeah, I read I read some magazines, mostly.

Miguel:   Which ones?

Suzanne:   Well, my site covers a lot of daytime as well as primetime, so I read Soap Opera Digest, Entertainment Weekly, Vanity Fair, and Good Housekeeping, which I got for like, ten bucks for a year.  They keep sending it to me, and I’m like, “Okay, it’s only ten bucks, whatever.” That’s how they get you.

Miguel:   Good Housekeeping, yeah I should read that one.

Suzanne:   Yeah, it’s mostly what they would call a women’s magazine. It’s like recipes and makeup and you know, stuff like that.

Miguel:   Yeah, that’s funny. Who knows, maybe I’ll get something out of it.

Suzanne:   You never know. Well go to the dentist or something. You’ll probably find a copy there.

Miguel:   That’s hilarious. Now that you mention it, I do recall seeing those there at those places.

Suzanne:   So, what talents do you have besides acting and writing?

Miguel:   You know what, before I started working as an actor, I was a stunt man. I went to stunt school for a year, just to do something with my life and learn new skills. So, I was doing stunt training, so I know how to fall and how to get my butt kicked in class, just that type of work. However, now, depending on the stunt, I’d probably have a stunt man do some of my stunts, that way I don’t get hurt on set.

Suzanne:   Right. They take a lot of risks.

Miguel:   Oh, yeah, your life is dangerous, like one time I was on set. I was a stunt man on this non-union film, and I fell on cement like fifteen times at least, ten to fifteen times. My body felt really fatigued the next day.

Suzanne:   Well, it’s good that you work out so much. So, even if you did do it, you might not hurt yourself so much.

Miguel:   Yeah. I mean, you spend a lot of your time in classes learning how to fall. It’s crazy; it’s absolutely crazy.

Suzanne:   Yeah. And is there anything else that you’d like to tell your fans about you or the show?

Miguel:   You know, it’s a show that is funny. It’s not really that dark, and it’s easy to watch with your friends and family. So if you want to find something to watch that will make you laugh and smile during these crazy times, watch AP Bio season three.

Suzanne:   All right, great. Thank you so much for the call. I really appreciate it.

Miguel:   Likewise, thank you so much for having me.

Suzanne:   All right. Talk to you later.

Miguel:   Bye.

Suzanne:   Bye.

Here is the audio version of it.

“Intelligence” on Peacock Review by Eva 7/19/2020

NBC’s entry into the streaming service market, Peacock, made its debut, and in order to see the original shows exclusively airing on the service you have to pay for either a subscription with ads or one without ads. Some shows, like the new “Cleopatra in Space,” require that you pay for ads if you want to see them at all.

The first show that interested me from their original shows is the David Schwimmer-fronted “Intelligence”.  Schwimmer plays Jerry Bernstein, the NSA liaison to a London-based cybersecurity firm.

Schwimmer is funny as a guy who acts like he has it all together, but the truth is, he has no idea what he’s doing and is very nervous about his new job.  He really wants to make a good a good impression on his British co-workers.  I like the comedic chemistry between Schwimmer’s character Jerry, and his boss Christine Clark (Sylvestra Le Touzel).

I wanted to watch this show because I have missed watching David Schwimmer in a comedy, and there are really funny parts of the show.  However, in the end,  I don’t think its funny enough because the British and American comedy styles just don’t mix well for me.  I might watch a few more episodes just to see if future ones are better.  If you’re struggling with what to expect, mix the British version of “The Office” with the American version and add a little of “Get Smart”.  I give this a 3 out of 5 stars, hoping it will improve.

This show is for mature audiences because it has several major bad words that are not needed.  I really don’t think that a comedy show needs the F bomb used several times.

Intelligence is a workplace comedy set in the UK’s Government Communications Headquarters – a kind of weedier, geekier, more bureaucratic version of MI5 and MI6, where they tackle international and domestic Cyber Crime from a desktop. When a pompous maverick NSA agent Jerry Bernstein (David Schwimmer, American Crime Story, Friends, Band of Brothers) comes over from the U.S. to join the team, he enlists an inept and tactless computer analyst Joseph (Nick Mohammed, The Martian, Ted Lasso, Christopher Robin) in a power grab that threatens to disrupt the team’s ability to combat cyber terrorism.Produced by Expectation, Intelligence is created and written by Nick Mohammed. Mohammed also serves as Executive Producer with Nerys Evans (Catastrophe, In My Skin) for Expectation, David Schwimmer, and Morwenna Gordon (Urban Myths, Code 404) for Sky. Curious George

“Curious George” on Peacock, Review by Eva 7/19/2020

The Peacock streaming service has created an original series about the lovable monkey Curious George.  The show is perfect for your preschoolers because it is about a curious monkey named George who loves to help friends and strangers.  However, his curiosity gets him in some unique situations.  George is a very smart monkey and always figures out a way to get out of the problems that his curiosity causes for him and his friends.

I love this show because it teaches children to be kind to other people and how to solve problems.  The episodes are short and fun to watch as well.  I give this show 5 out of 5 stars

Primetime TV Review: “The Capture”

TV Review!

The Capture poster

“The Capture” on Peacock, Review by Eva 7/19/2020

This Peacock six episode mini-series that originally aired in Britain is a fast-paced, exciting thriller that makes the viewer question what they see and if you can trust video to really show the truth.  Callum Turner stars as Shaun Emery, whose conviction of murder is overturned when his lawyer Hannah Roberts (Laura Haddock) proves that what you see on video isn’t exactly what happened in the situation.  Shaun doesn’t have time to enjoy his freedom because Hannah is kidnapped and Shaun is once more put in jail because of video evidence.  The question for the audience becomes, Did Shaun kidnap Hannah, or did someone else do it?”

This show is interesting to watch if you love mysteries. Each episode gives you clues to help you find the real culprit.  The only thing I don’t like is that it is rated for mature audiences because it uses the F word way too much.  I wish “The Capture” was a bit longer than six episodes, but this show is a stand-out for Peacock.  I give the show 5 out of 5 stars

More Information:

  • trailer: The Capture
  • Press Release: The Capture
The Capture is a conspiracy thriller that looks at a troubling world of fake news and the extraordinary capabilities of the intelligence services. When soldier Shaun Emery’s (Callum Turner, War & Peace, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald) conviction for a murder in Afghanistan is overturned due to flawed video evidence, he returns to life as a free man with his young daughter.
