So I’m gonna ask you. What’s stopping him? Liesl, I’m, uh — I’m incredibly grateful for your kindness. It just feels like there’s another reason why you’re doing this. Is michael right? If what you’ve told me really is true and I did jump off of that high tower at wyndemere, I can only imagine that I was pretty desperate, and I certainly couldn’t have been thinking about the baby by doing something so dangerous. We may never know. But when you surfaced, you seemed to have left the old esme behind you. In a way, you’ve been given a blank slate, a fresh start. It’s up to you what you do with it. I could not have said that better myself.

What do you want?To keep playing me so you can take my baby away from me? You have a lot on your plate now that you’re returning to spring ridge. Yeah, well, the difference is, now I know what you didn’t tell me. What is she talking about? I’m gonna let the two of you work this out, but I hope you both can put aside your own needs for the sake of that baby.

[ Door opens, closes ] I do not know what elizabeth told you, but I think that you would be making a huge mistake if you try to take the baby to prison with you. You need to correct your word choice. It’s not the baby. It’s my baby — mine, not yours, and definitely not your father’s, now that I know that he locked me up as his prisoner and threw away the key. I’m sorry. You’re right. This is your business. Gregory, don’t you think that it would feel better if you could talk to someone that cares about you? I mean, that’s what friends are for. And if it turns out that you can be the donor, I will be forever in your debt. But it’s impossible for me to put aside everything nina has done to me and — and michael and wiley, for that matter. I know how much you love nina, a-and I would never tell you not to. Just as I can’t expect you to love her, I understand that. But if you do get a second chance at life, ask yourself this. Do you want to spend it denying someone who’s been waiting her whole life to love you? I don’t think nina loves me personally, I think that she loves the idea of having a daughter. I-in fact, before she found out that she was my mother, she couldn’t stand me. And so the sudden about-face just feels like it’s a lot more about nina than it is about me.

[ Sighs ] That, um — that could describe me… and the way I raised britta. Her childhood was about me, my desperate need to impress her father, my desire to mold her into the daughter that I desired. It was not until those last few years of britta’s life that I realized how wrong I’d been. I apologized to my daughter, and she mercifully forgave me. In those last years

[Chuckles] Britta and I became not only mother and daughter, but… friends. I can only wish the same for you and nina — despite nina’s shortcomings. The next round of tests is all set. Dr. Obrecht, if you want to come with me? I promise to update both of you as soon as I can. Willow: Thank you.

[ Sighs ]

[ Door closes ] Okay. Let’s go home. I know that I have said it before that I’m — that I’m through with nikolas, but I truly mean it this time. Honestly, I hope that I’ve seen the last of him. Like I said, I don’t like nikolas, but it’s amazing that you have come to the same conclusion. But it seemed to me that you were more afraid of nikolas returning than you were of staring down ryan chamberlain. Did nikolas threaten you? You can tell me. Ava? He didn’t threaten me. He threatened avery. I — I only said that ‘cau

closer than ever to chase and finn. I am. But my boys have enough going on in their lives without worrying about me. That’s what families do.

[ Sighs ] That’s what friends do. I mean, if — if chase and finn — alexis. If you’re the friend you say you are, you’ll do as I ask. Gregory. I am your friend. I am very sorry for whatever is going on with you. And I’m sorry that I upset you. But I’m not sorry for being concerned.

[ Scoffs ] Yeah. Well , I did some checking, and there is nothing to prevent esme prince from taking the baby to spring ridge for the short term. Oh, my god. [ Sighs ] You know, I understand her desire to keep her baby close to her. It’s just that, you know, given her history, this is very complicated. What are spencer’s chances of being able to gain custody of his little brother? I’ve spoken to spencer about this. You know, michael corinthos was able to get custody of his little sister, avery. And michael and spencer are very similar in terms of resources, so there is precedent. However, that said, it would be so much better if spencer could get esme to cooperate. Is that what elizabeth told you? That you were my father’s prisoner? As if you didn’t know. I swear, this was all new information to me. Though, it would explain why you went missing for so long. I am curious, though, even if it is true. How would elizabeth know? Never mind how she knows. You’ll find out soon enough. And so will the judge. And there will be no way that they’ll take my baby away from me. Oh. But if you truly care about your son the way that I think that you do, you don’t want him to be raised in a prison. You want him to be with a family who loves him very dearly. My son’s name is ace, and I don’t need lessons in love from you. Look, I mean, you talk a good game just like nikolas did, but you are no better than your father. It is because I love my son that I won’t let you anywhere near him.

[ Elevator dings ]

[ Indistinct chatter ] Oh, you can run, but you can’t hide. I don’t have time for this. I have to go home to my boys. I do admire your maternal instinct. Is that what prompted you to throw in with my nephew to help him keep esme prisoner, hmm? Oh, I have plenty of evidence proving that you helped nikolas keep esme captive. And I will send that to the authorities unless you tell me where I might find him. What makes you think I know? Hm. If that’s the way you want to play it. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. No, victor, I’m warning you. And in very short time, your so-called evidence will be worthless. And you’ll have no power over me. But best of luck in finding nikolas. What do you mean he’s threatening our daughter? I — I just mean he — he — he threatened to take avery away from me, which is ridiculous, right? He has zero standing in court. It’s an empty threat meant to wound me. And it did, but don’t give it a second thought. Really. Nikolas is gone. He’s left port charles. He’s probably left the country. Ava. It’s one thing to threaten me or you, but if he threatens our daughter in any way, I will find him. I don’t care where he’s hiding. Sonny, just — would you please just go? Willow records a video for Michael to watch after the wedding. Sasha arrives to help Willow with the arrangements for the wedding. Willow asks Sasha to get rid of the half heart necklace Nina gave to her. Liesl tells Nina that she got tested to be a possible bone marrow donor for Willow. Liesl and Nina anxiously wait for the test results and hope that Liesl will be a match for Willow.

Elizabeth feels badly for telling the police that Nikolas held Esme hostage even though Scott was able to get her immunity from prosecution. Scott tells Liesl what Elizabeth did and Liesl wants to have a talk with her.

Curtis tries to persuade Trina to have a DNA test but Trina tells Curtis that she doesn’t need to have a DNA test because Taggert will always be her father. Curtis tells Trina he understands how she feels and if she ever changes her mind she should let him know.

Dante arrives with a search warrant and a search team to see if he can find clues to Nikolas’ whereabouts because he wants to arrest him for holding Esame hostage.

Austin and Ava worry when Dante calls them down to the tack room and they watch as Dante gets ready for open the tack room closet with a crowbar.

Anna continues to haunt Deputy Mayor Ashby and bursts in on a cell phone call to tell her she is next
and remind her that she killed her. Deputy Mayor Ashby tells Victor that she doesn’t want to work for him but Victor tells her that she has no choice. Deputy Mayor Ashby later calls Victor that Esme has escaped from Spring Ridge. Victor tells Spencer who rushes to find Trina.

Jordan finds Mac and he is taken to the hospital. The Warden of Spring Ridge tells Laura and Jordan that Ryan killed a guard and escaped with Heather and Esme. Dante calls Jordan and tells her nanny Maggie helped Esme find out that Ryan was her father and Esme came to town searching for him. Trina tells Curtis and Taggert that Portia isn’t sure which one of them is her father. Taggert isn’t mad with Portia and he assures Trina no matter what happens he will always be her father. Curtis is hurt and angry with Portia because she never toild him that he could be Tina’s father. Curtis wonders why Portia didn’t tell him this two years ago. Portia tells Curtis that Trina was grieving Taggert because they thought he was dead and she didn’t want to take her father away from her.

Ryan calls Mac and tells him Felicia is with him and if he sees a cop Felicia will die.

Laura tells Jordan that she thinks she knows where Ryan might be.

Austin is in the stables waiting for Ava and he feels someone behind him and he sees a hook go up.

Esme’s nanny Maggie tells Dante and Sam that Esme”s father is Ryan Chamberlain and she didn’t want to talk to them at first because she thought Ryan had sent them to keep her quiet. Ryan, Heather, and Esme escape Spring Ridge although Esme is frightened because she doesn’t remember Ryan is her father even when he tells her he is her father. Mac runs into the escapees while he is on his way to Spring Ridge to take Heather back to Darkham. Ryan hits Mac over the head and knocks him out.

Heather drives the RV to Ava’s house because Ryan wants to see her. Ava and Austin are about to leave to take Nikolas’ body to the Pine Barons when Felicia arrives to talk to Ava. Ava tells Austin she will meet him at the stables, when she finishes talking with the person who is at the door. Felicia tells Ava that she thinks Ryan is the mastermind behind the hook killings he just has someone else doing the footwork. Felicia thinks that she and Ava could get Ryan to reveal the identity of his accomplice. Ava agrees to go with Felicia to Spring Ridge to talk to Ryan tomorrow. Ava opens the door so Felicia leaves and the ladies are surprised to see Ryan standing there.

Portia tells Trina doesn’t know if Curtis or Taggert is her biological father because she never thought it was important to find out the truth. Trina is mad that her mother kept such important information from her for her entire life. Trina is about to leave the room because she doesn’t know who her mother is anymore but when she opens the door to leave, Curtis, Marshall, and Taggert are standing there.

Trina and Spencer talk to Aunt Stella who tells them she didn’t go to the wedding because she didn’t want to keep another secret from Curtis. Stella tells Trina that Portia is keeping a secret from her and Curtis that she needs to tell them. Trina and Spencer return to the reception and Trina wants some answers from Portia.

Sam questions the owner of the bed and breakfast where she and Dante are staying and the lady tells her that the bar maid is named Margaret and she used to work in America as a nanny. Maggie steals the money from the cash register at the pub and she is about to leave the pub to take the train out of the village but when she opens the door to leave Dante is there to talk to her.

Heather leads Esme to the door that leads to the outside of Spring Ridge but a guard wants to take them back inside the prison but Ryan stabs the guard with the knife Heather gave him earlier and then he tells Esme it’s time for a road trip.

Sasha tells Brook Lynn that she and Chase are just friends and don’t have a romantic relationship. Brook Lynn tells Sasha she is leaving Deception because she wants to become a music manager. Chase overhears Brook Lynn tell Sasha she doesn’t have feelings for Chase anymore and that she wants to concentrate on her new career.

Alexis calls PCU and the Dean tells her that Gregory hasn’t worked for the school since last semester. Alexis asks Gregory why he lied to her since she thought they were friends.

Molly tells Kristina and Sam that the pregnancy test Kristina found is hers but she hasn’t taken it yet. Molly tells her sisters that she is worried about how TJ will react to the news, but she does want to have a baby with him. Molly calls TJ to tell him she might be pregnant.

Spencer is ready to take his baby brother home to Laura’s house, but Diane arrives at the hospital to tell him that he can’t take the baby anywhere.

Anna and Felicia scare Deputy Mayor into confessing that she helped frame Anna for shooting Lucy. Felicia records the confession and tells Deputy Mayor Ashby that if she doesn’t help them take down Victor they will release the confession to the press and ruin her career. Deputy Mayor Ashby agrees to help them bring down Victor.

Charlotte texted me to let me know that all the furniture arrived and it’s been set up. I ordered diapers, baby formula, parenting books. Grandmother, I’m really trying here. I know, sweetheart. I know you are. And I couldn’t be more proud of you, really. It’s just that… I don’t know. It’s just that you’re not this baby’s parent. You’re his brother. dean jeffries told me that gregory has not worked for or taught a class at pcu all semester. I don’t understand. Neither do I. Even his sons think he’s working at the university. So he’s keeping things even from them? It doesn’t make any sense. I know him. Maybe not as well as you thought. We have become very good friends, actually. And do you know when you were stabbed, he didn’t leave the hospital, even after I insisted that he go? Well, that was — that was very kind of him, but, honey, what kind of a friendship do you think you’re building if apparently he can’t even be honest with you? Normally, I would agree with you on this, but there is something else at play here.

[ Cellphone chimes ] Oh, honey, I have to deal with this. Go. Tread carefully with gregory. No more investing in this friendship until you have fully evaluated the situation. And clearly, I connected dots that should never have been connected, so I’m sorry. I have obviously stirred some things up. It’s okay. Break-ups can be confusing.

Chase tells Dante that he wants to prove that Linc is harassing his female singers so Linc can be put in jail for his crimes. Dante tells Chase to let him know if he needs his help with Linc and he also warns him it could jeopardize his reinstatement into the Police Department.

Chase goes to the hospital to have his shoulder looked at since he hurt it during his work out. Chase is surprised to see his dad at the hospital too. Laura asks Deputy Mayor Ashby to identify Anna’s body and Eileen gets scared when the lights go out in the morgue and she sees Anna alive and she tells herself this is not happening because Anna is dead.

[ Sighs ] So good to see you. How’s your mom? Oh, she’s hanging in there. Ryan really put my mom and mac through the wringer. Well, look on the bright side. Ryan is dead, and heather is going away until she rots. I say good riddance to lunatics. I’m still reeling from all of this, though. Not only was heather the hook the entire time, but her last victim was austin. I know. Have you talked to him? No, no, I left a message, but I didn’t want to push. I hear you. It’s hard to know where that line is with an ex. Mm-kay, now we’re talking about you and chase. Am I right? Whew! Oh, what’s the matter? You hurt your shoulder? I told you to take it easy. What’d that punching bag ever do to you, anyway? I was overcompensating. Oh, yeah? For what? I’m sick of being in limbo. I want to be a cop again. Honestly, it’s probably just, like, a touch of that bug that’s going around, but I haven’t seen my sisters in ages, and there is no way I am missing this brunch.

Well, he may have given you crucial information, but it was your deductive reasoning that unmasked the hook. It was a major get. One you should be proud of. The glory is not all mine. I couldn’t have done it without you. Look, man, I know you hate not being on the force — especially after a big operation like the one on spoon island. They caught the hook, ryan chamberlain is dead, esme prince has been recaptured, and where was I? Yeah, well, look, I missed out on all that, too, man. Well, because you were in england with sam working on another case. Yeah, we were tracking down esme prince’s nanny. How’d that — what’d you find out? She told us that ryan chamberlain was esme’s biological father. See, you just — you’re proving my point. That was good work, by the way. Yeah, and it’s work you can do, too, when you get reinstated. If I get reinstated. I have every reason to believe that the board is going to see your merits and they’re going to reinstate you. We’re still a long way off. Aw, would you have some faith, man? I’ll try. In the meantime, there’s another bad guy I can take down. Brook lynn: It has been a challenge navigating my professional relationship with chase now that we’re no longer dating. But on the bright side, soon enough, we will no longer have a professional relationship, and he will be free of me completely. Did he fire you as his manager? Music was never chase’s dream. It was mine. He loves police work, and he’s probably going to be reinstated as a police officer in the next few months. How do you feel about that? It makes him happy, and I’m happy for him. That’s great. How do you really feel? I’m actually happy for him, maxie. Look, chase, he deserves to follow his passion. Yeah, so do you. And I am. In fact, aside from the ones he already sold, linc gave me back my catalog. That’s great news. Yeah. So, you know, I can shop those around, build my slate of artists. Hmm. Or rather, I-I should say, what the french authorities believe are anna’s remains. My condolences. Thank you. I hope this gives you and anna’s loved ones the closure that you need. When will the body arrive? It’s already here. Anna’s body is down in the morgue. And I am the one who is supposed to identify it.

Spitballing, bouncing theories off each other. That’s what led to my eureka moment with heather. After that, it was just a question of me confirming my hunch. I might’ve helped get the wheels turning, but this — could you — this — this was all you. Just take the win. I mean, come on. We’re good together. So why bust it all up? Suddenly, I’m sensing a return to a subject we put to bed. I just don’t understand why pcu won’t let you work at the invader. I told you, conflict of interest. I know, conflict of interest, and I’m telling you that I have researched six publications, and all of them have actual professors working in their editorial department. So why is pcu setting a different standard for their faculty, specifically you? Alexis, why can’t you just let this go? I’m going to stop linc brown, end his career as a music manager, maybe get him charged, just for good measure. Maybe you should remember that he’s one of the reasons you were suspended in the first place. You add harassment to the assault, you’re not going to get back on the force. Brown gets handsy with his clients, and I mean really handsy. He is abusive, he’s controlling, he’s manipulative, and that’s all that we know about. There’s probably so much more. I knew the guy was a sleaze, but I didn’t know he was doing that. Yeah, that’S… that’s no good, and he needs to be stopped. Why don’t i have a chat with him, then? No, it won’t do anything. Well, how is that not going to — how are you going to do good by working for him? How’s that going to stop his behavior? Proximity gives me opportunity. Sooner or later, he is going to slip up in a way that is verifiable. Right. Okay. And when he does, you better be far, far away from him. I take it you are referring to chase. Chase and I are over. He has made that more than abundantly clear. In fact, I think he’s moved on. Chase is interested in someone else? Who? Sasha. Sasha… are you sure? Not “sure” sure, but they’ve certainly been spending a lot more time together lately. Okay, well, they’re friends, and I’m sure they’re just being supportive. How sure? Like 98% sure. You need to talk to sasha. Why? Whatever’s going on between them, it’s none of my business. Look, chase and I are over. I may not have him, but I have my music back. Yeah. You still don’t seem that pleased. Because it came with strings. I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement. What’s wrong with that? Well, one of my main goals when I started was to nail linc to the wall, you know, for sexual harassment and coercion and all the other sleazy stuff he does. And you persuaded chase to help you. I did. And he was totally into it. So when he finds out I signed an nda and can no longer speak publicly about what linc did to me, he could think that I prioritized my career over doing what’s right. I don’t think the nda is going to be your problem. You need to check with a lawyer, but there’s this little thing called the speak out act. An nda can prevent you from talking about work product, like intellectual property. Lyrics, contracts, deals. Exactly. But any contract that restricts your ability to talk about how you’ve been treated, like misconduct in the workplace or sexual harassment, those can’t be enforced anymore. You should look into it. I will. But that still doesn’t change what I did. Chase is understanding. I am sure he will forgive you. What does chase need to forgive you for? So, exactly how offended should I be that the pleasure of my company just wasn’t enough for us to meet? Your company in itself is reward enough. Oh, stop. Go on. I wanted to bring you up to speed, given some recent events. Yes. You mean heather webber being identified as the person who stabbed me with a hook? Well, she’s confessed, which means we’re removed from the problem of having a trial. Which means I don’t have to testify. How nice. ‘Cause, believe me, I was not looking forward to reliving that. You know, it’s interesting. I put my clients on the stand every day, but, boy, it’s different — when you’re the one that’s attacked. I get it. Yes, well, of course you would. I mean, you yourself were the victim of an attack recently. Shouldn’t one of ms. Devane’s actual relatives make the identification? Well, it’s just that, um, well, her daughter lives all the way across the country. But what about D.A. Scorpio? They were married. Yes, they were. It’s just that, uh, well, the french authorities have made it clear that, um, well, the body, there’s been some decomposition, so… I’m sure you can understand why I wouldn’t want to expose one of her loved ones to a visual like that, unless that was absolutely necessary. Of course. So, unfortunately, it’s my duty as a city official to assist the gendarmerie.

[ Sighs ] But, so help me, I have been here for hours, and I just can’t do it. Oh. You need support. I need you to do it.

Telling meto look the other way while linc manhandles his female clients. No, I am not, but what i am telling you to do is maybe report him. I don’t know. I know it’s difficult, but maybe see if you can convince some of these women to come forward. You know as well as I do, these types of allegations are hard to prove. Either everyone comes forward or no one does. Okay, I get direct involvement, but for you — for you, it’s a bad idea. Why? These women endure this because they think that if they don’t, linc will end their music career. I don’t care if my music career ends. In fact, I can’t wait. I am the perfect person to take him down. Okay, but you know how this works. You take him down, he’s liable to take you down with him. And then what happens? The ccrb gets wind of your little one-man operation, and there goes your chances of reinstatement. I-I know there are risks, but I don’t feel right about leaving these women in linc’s orbit to do this alone. No, and nor should you. That’s admirable. But, just to be clear, are we talking women plural or one woman in particular? Is everything okay with you and chase? Nothing major. Just music-business stuff. Well, I admire you, brook lynn. The way you’re juggling two careers? I crumbled under the pressure of just one. What? No, you didn’T. What you went through was not a reflection of your capability or professionalism. Don’t sell yourself short. Oh, you know what? I think I left my phone in my coat pocket, which is really strange of me, but it happened. So you two, uh, talk amongst yourselves. I think it’s so incredible what you’ve done with chase’s music career. Thank you. Are you thinking of taking on other clients? Actually, it’s probably time to explore new horizons. The question is, why are you willing to let this go? I know my limits. The only limits you have are the limits that pcu has shackled you with. You should just quit.

[ Scoffs ] Alexis.

[ Sighs ] You find journalism gratifying, yes? Well, certainly more than I thought. And when you were practicing law, if someone told you you should quit and run the invader or just be on the staff…? I’d refuse. Because being an attorney was your first love, was it not?

[ Sighs ] It was. And teaching is yours. Now, this may sound flowery, or probably just plain pretentious, but I really feel that the knowledge I’ve imparted is my bequest to a better world. Okay, that’s lovely. And if anyone should understand how painful it is to give up a career that you’ve poured your heart and soul into… I get it. Besides, just because I’m not officially working here doesn’t mean that we can’t continue to collaborate. As you said yourself, why bust up a good thing? What are you thinking? I’m thinking there must be a way to build on the momentum of this story. And my ideas are yours, free of charge. Who’s ready for a toast? You rarely call on me for assistance, and you’re often dismissive of my efforts. Oh. Okay, I’ll admit, I was short with you when you were talking to warden brewster about the spring ridge escape. You clearly did not want me there. Yeah. And it wasn’t the first time that you actively kept me out of the loop when it was important that I stay informed. But being informed is not necessarily being involved, eileen. Okay. [ Sighs ] I’ll admit it. I have been keeping you at arm’s length. May I ask why?

I think I owe you an apology. Yeah, well, I let my personal sensitivities cloud my judgment, you know? But then I realized that we don’t have to be adversaries, do we? It’s just that, you know — it’s just that you’re such a strong administrator, and you will be a great successor when I decide not to seek reelection, but it’s just that I need to know that I can count on you when it matters. Understood. I will go to the morgue and make the identification. Eileen, I can’t tell you how grateful I am to you for this, really. That you would step up in this way is something that I will never forget.

It’s tough to make many moves under this guardianship, but I’m starting to think about my own future. And does that future include anyone else? For a guy who’s wanted to be a cop longer than he can remember, it didn’t feel good to lose my purpose. And what about singing? That’s a paycheck, not a purpose. Look, I want to help people, and if I can’t do it as a cop, I’mma do it this way. Dr. Kevin collins would lend a unique point of view to a think piece. Kevin is not only ryan’s brother, he’s his twin and his victim. To share your exact dna with someone who’s both your physiological and moral opposite? It’s a great angle. I like it. You know, it’s not every day I find out that I might be a father. And I’m sure it’s a first for you to find out that you might have a dad you never knew. Here you go, dante. Ada lansing got a judge to sign off on a search warrant. Gives the pcpd complete discretion to search every inch of spoon island. Great.Is out there, we’re gonna find him. And with elizabeth baldwin’s testimony, he’ll be going away to prison for a very long time. Elizabeth, why aren’t you smiling? We got a really good deal. What’s gonna happen to nikolas? Well, he’ll be charged with a boatload of crimes. Because I incriminated him. Well, would you rather he incriminated you? And all you did was tell the truth. I mean, nikolas sucked you in to this whole esme thing. He thought she was the killer. But when you found out she wasn’t, you guys were in over your head. And I convinced the da’s office to, you know, make that deal for immunity. Still, I have to live with what I did. Yes, but you didn’t know that esme wasn’t the killer for a long time. Tell that to the woman you love — britt’s mom.

[ Gasps ] Dr. Obrecht. What — what brings you to the hospital? I’m a patient, awaiting test results. Ah. What kind of tests? That’s between me and the lab… and my darling scott once he gets here. Can’t imagine what’s keeping him. Finn? What do you know that I don’t? Yeah, my daughter needs a donor for a bone-marrow transplant. And there are people out there that can help. They — all they have to do is register to become a donor. And with crimson’s demographics, we can reach the under-35-year-olds, people with millions more stem cells to offer. Right, and so the cops are gonna be here soon, and they’re gonna be looking for evidence to corroborate her story. Right. But they’re gonna be looking for corroborative evidence in the north tower, not in the closet of a tack room. Only this time they’re gonna be looking for nikolas. And that puts the entire island at play. Doc… you know what we have to do.

[ Indistinct conversations in distance ] Uh, I can’t really offer you much to eat. But I think there’s an energy drink in the mini fridge and a bag of chips. I didn’t come here to eat. Yes, to live out her days in a padded cell. The police wasted precious time searching for esme prince when heather was the hook killer all along. A lot of people thought esme was the killer for a long time, not just the police. No one could have known otherwise. Oh, please. Someone must have known the killer wasn’t esme and looked the other way! And because of them…

…mein britta’s no more. When my story goes public, I-I don’t know how I’m ever gonna face liesl again. Yeah, um, liesl will be upset. Very upset. But if — if I can convince the da’s office, I can also reason with liesl. H-how do you reason with somebody who’s lost a child? Well, listen. All I want is a key to heather webber’s padded cell. That or five minutes alone with whoever hid esme all that time. What — what makes you so sure someone was hiding her? Esme was pregnant. [ Line ringing ]

The cops may not, but victor would. And if I were to run now, I would have to run without my child. Ryan chamberlain has already taken one daughter from me, and I will die before I lose the other. [ Exhales sharply ]

Witness at the absolute horrible year you had last year, from being accused of a crime that you didn’t commit and its subsequent trial… to rory’s death. And that’s not to mention the fear of knowing that the hook killer was targeting people you were close to. But, honey, through it all, you had your family — your mom and your dad. Now, I know — I’m aware that right now it probably feels like your family is up for grabs. And you’d only be human to… resent my presence in your life. I don’t resent you, curtis. You’ve always been wonderful to me. I mean, sure, you might have been a little pushy at times, but that was before we established boundaries. But those boundaries, they have a really big hole in them right now. And the odds are they’re only gonna get wider unless we answer one big question once and for all. You’re saying… we need to know what our dna says about us? If you’re here to see dr. Gatlin-holt, you just missed him. Is he off for a test? No. No. He checked himself out. So soon? Did you approve of that or…? No, absolutely not. But he’s a doctor. And you know the saying — they make the worst patients? Since I’m here, I may as well pay a visit to esme, see if giving birth has jarred her memory. Jordan, can esme wait? Sure. Why? Austin’s room is empty, and we can talk without being disturbed. I’m really glad that I did it. I got to put a face on brando’s murderer. And it gave me a chance to finally release all the pent-up anger that I’ve been keeping in check. It also made me realize something. What’s that? When liam died and then brando did… I thought that there could be nothing worse than death. But I was wrong. I loved liam. I loved brando.

[ Voice breaking ] And I love you. And I realized that if someone goes through life having never experienced love, never having anything to lose… that would be the worst thing that can happen. I understand your pain. I do. I miss britt, too. But even if you could prove that someone knew that esme wasn’t the killer… it’s not gonna bring britt back. No. But it would give me great pleasure to give that person pain.

[ Sighs ] Nina, does my honesty upset you? No, no. It doesn’t — I’m — no. I just — I-I took a call from crimson. We’re gonna do a campaign for stem-cell donors. Don’t worry. I’m not fooling myself. I understand it might be too late. But if we can save other lives, then… nina, my nina, it — it may not be too late. I know a possible donor. What? Oh, my god. Who?! Liesl was asking about you. And maybe you want to ask yourself — what would nik have done to esme and that baby if you would’ve just walked away? Um

[Clears throat] Everythingseems to be in order. Okay. Uh, you two want to start with the main house and you two do the outlying buildings? Dante, is this really necessary? Heather is in custody, and ryan’s in the morgue. Right. No, this doesn’t have anything to do with what happened here last night. We got eyewitness testimony that esme prince was being held here against her will after you moved out. So we can’t go anywhere until we find some proof or at least a clue as to where nikolas is hiding.

Is where we’re gonna haveto agree to disagree because… I don’t need a dna test. I know all I need to know about my family — the good and the bad. I know how you feel. You know… when marshall came back into my life… I shut that door right in his face. After 40 years, the last thing I needed was some dude coming into my life claiming to be my father. All those years without him, I had learned to be strong, almost — almost unbreakable. And then I realized — who am I kidding? A piece of me was missing. I didn’t even realize that until I looked — until I looked him in the face and I saw a part of me looking back. I’m glad for you and marshall. I really like him. But it’s not the same thing for me.

[ Sighs ] You grew up

without a dad. I grew up with a dad. A dad who was always there for me. I understand that. I understand all of it. I bet you think that even asking the question of, “who is my biological father?” — I bet you feel like you’re betraying taggert. This isn’t easy for me to say… but there’s something that you need to know. Okay, but before you do, full disclosure — curtis came to me earlier today and told me what happened at your wedding reception. You tried to warn me. And I just want you to know that you were right. I kept telling myself that I was trying to protect my daughter… …protect my whole family. Um, but in reality, the only one that I was protecting was myself. I didn’t want to face the fact that dr. Portia robinson, who had risen to the top of her profession and respected by her peers and loved by the people who mattered the most…

[ Sniffles ] …Is so very far from perfect. In fact, I’m a coward. That’s simply not true. Well, we checked out amelia, and then wiley decided to take a nap. Shh! I got to take advantage of all the quiet. [ Chuckles ] We’re trying to decide between orchids and roses. Why not both? And that’s why you’re a ceo.

[ Laughter ] Yeah, I’m also a dad, not that amelia seems to really care. Is our daughter giving you a hard time? She’s just — she’s not going back to sleep. It’s that damn mobile above her bed. She’s fascinated with it. She can’t stop staring at it. Can you move it? Uh, no, she’ll just start crying if I do that. Sounds like amelia needs a dose of her mommy. Do you want me to go with you? If it turns out that I’m a match and I can save willow’s life… when carly’s silence almost killed her… that will be sweet revenge. That’s my girl. Ava: My god. Well, that certainly explains why nikolas vanished into thin air. If he got the sense that elizabeth was gonna confess to the police… well, she couldn’t do that without implicating him, right? He — he must have felt like the walls were closing in and must have run. Ava, I’m so sorry. That must have been agonizing, realizing that the man that you thought you knew inside and out was capable of keeping that poor pregnant girl prisoner.

[ Chuckles ] Take it easy. Let’s not go overboard. Esme is no saint, but no one deserves to be locked in a tower! Dante: Tower? Who said anything about the tower?

Oh, well, I’m just saying. Um, I’m just remembering that over the last few months, nikolas said that the north tower was completely off-limits to everybody, even the staff. So it makes sense. Where else could he have been hiding esme? Right? Yeah, we checked out the tower once already. Yeah, it had been painted and cleaned and looked like nikolas was trying to cover his tracks.

[ Cellphone ringing ] We could check it out again.

[ Police radio chatter ] Hi. Uh, falconeri. Alright. No. Don’t touch anything. I’ll be right there. Was something found? Uh, I don’t know yet. I’m not trying to be selfish about this. I know it’s complicated for everyone. And — and I’m sure my dad has some questions of his own. I mean… I mean, is it fair to leave him in the dark? Wondering if or when the truth may actually come — come out? Say, if there’s, like, some random medical emergency. Right. Is it fair to taggert? And — and let me just say, I do like the guy. But the only thing that matters to me is that I love my dad and I know my dad loves me. And, honey, I don’t want that to change, okay? But if there’s one thing this family has learned… oh. Okay. I know how that sentence ends. It’s the not knowing that will cause the real damage. Trina, I’m not gonna lie.I do want to know the truth. But I’m not gonna push. Okay? It’s your call.

[ Sighs ] So what do you want to do? Wait a minute. You’ve been warning me to come clean to curtis for months. And now you’re defending me? I’m not defending you. Just saying you’re not a coward. You had valid reasons for keeping your secret. Yes, you were protecting yourself, but I also know you were protecting trina and taggert.

[ Sniffles ] Even curtis, in a way. You’re a good person who puts your family first. Even though I chose to ignore all of your warnings. You had reasons to doubt my motives. In your place, I might have doubted them, too, but believe it or not, I was trying to spare you the kind of pain that you’re dealing with now. I know that. But what I don’t know — what I can’t seem to figure out is, how do I make the situation better? If there was anything I could do to give you more time with willow, I would do it in a heartbeat. Because I know how you feel. There is not a day that goes by when I don’t wish that I could hold liam in my arms again… or get a glimpse of brando and that epic smile…

[ Chuckles ] …Even if he’s just changing a tire at his garage. I’m sorry. Maybe I-I should’vechecked in with you more often. Oh, don’t be. We all suffer our burdens. And most days, I manage to put one foot in front of the other. It’s almost like I’m dancing with brando. Speaking of dancing, willow wants to dance at the wedding. I mean, the — the cops are just questioning anybody and everybody on the whereabouts of nikolas. And what can angelic elizabeth tell the police about nikolas cassadine’s nefarious dealings? Well, you know, they’re old friends. Well, at least before — before what? Okay. You know what? There’s more important things to worry about, aunt liesl, like the test results. You know, if there’s one positive that came out of all this, it’S… it’s how you handled this ordeal. You know, there might have been a time when I thought, you know, maybe you needed to lean on someone. But I didn’t do you justice. Maybe you’re right. Maybe I should take avery and run. You know, they practically gave me a medal for my part in taking ryan down, but if they find out what happened to nikolas, they won’t need to reinstate the death penalty because victor will make sure that I am dead.

Well, because elizabeth helped him, even though they knew that esme… was not the hook killer. I am so grateful to you for everything that you’ve done for me… and respecting my choice to come forward. And even though I’m incredibly nervous about the fallout to come… I know I can face it. Because it’s a million times better than living in fear, waiting to be exposed. I respect the choice you made, and whatever comes, I’ll be with you all the way. Thank you. And now I’m actually just excited to get back to work.

Liesl slaps Elizabeth and tells her she will reap what she has sown. Liesl is also upset with Scott because he helped Elizabeth get an immunity deal so, as far as she is concerned, Britt’s blood is on his hands as well.

Finn promises to support Elizabeth whenever she needs him and he is learning to respect her boundaries. ,

TJ tells Liesl she is a bone marrow match for Willow. Nina calls Michael who shares the happy news with Willow.

Austin and Ava are shocked when Dante opens the tack room closet, and Nikolas’ body isn’t in there. Dante finds Nikolas watch. Ava tells Austin she checked for a pulse after she hit him on the head with the statue and she is sure he didn’t have a pulse. Mason calls someone on the phone and tells the person on the phone that Nikolas is fine, and he is on life support and then the audience sees Nikolas hooked up to the life support machine.

[ Sighs ] Yes? Ask the A.D. For a warrant for a record search, check to see if mr. Cassadine purchased a burner phone in the months before february 7th. It’s possible he’s been planning his disappearance for a while.

[ Receiver clicks ] Shouldn’t you be at the airport? When’s your flight to tuscany? There’ll be no honeymoon in tuscany. At least not for portia and me.

[ Door opens ] Josslyn: Hey. I’m so glad you’re here. Hey. Did you hear? Heather webber is the hook killer? And she’s esme’s mom?! And ryan chamberlain is her dad. I mean, if she hadn’t caused so much damage, I’d feel bad for her. No wonder she is the way that she is. I know, right? Well, aren’t you relieved that it’s all over? Sure. One horror story ends… and another one begins. Why didn’t elizabeth come forward sooner? Well, you’ll understand once you hear her story. Now, I advised her to be quiet.

[ Scoffs ] You had her sit on information that could help us in a multiple-homicide investigation? My job is to protect my client. At whatever cost. We’re waiting for the A.D.A. To show up. Portia wanted to talk to her in private. Look, I can tell that none of this is a surprise to you, so why don’t I just skip to the end? Trina robinson might be my daughter. I’ll keep you posted. Bye. Did the D.A. You change his mind about the immunity deal? No, no, no. We — we are good here. The A.D.A. Is gonna come in and take down the details of what happened with nikolas and esme. Ryan manipulated everything. And he was somehow able to manipulate me into killing nikolas! I mean, not that it was intentional. You know it was an accident, but accident or not, it would not have happened if not for ryan. You’re giving the guy a little too much credit, don’t you? I mean, he was a psychopath, but he wasn’t psychic. Maybe a little of both? I keep thinking about something that ryan told me in the woods last night. He said that — that he and I were the same. That’s ridiculous. But it’s why he always felt so connected to me. Right? I mean, for the last two years, he was able to destroy my life from afar because of this connection that he felt. R-ryan was a master string puller, a-and he was able to — to manipulate me. And nikolas is dead because of it. Spencer, esme would have found her way to your father, whether you had helped her or not. But i did help her. I came back to port charles determined to ruin my father’s life. And I remember that esme would whisper in my ear… and she would tell me that my anger was justified… …and noble. Your anger towards your father is justified. Spencer, when your dad came back, I was thrilled. But when I found out that he chose to stay away from us for three years and let us believe that he was dead… yes. …I was angry, I felt betrayed. Yes. [ Beep ] This is assistant district attorney lansing-davis. In the room with me are detective falconeri, elizabeth baldwin, and her attorney, scott baldwin. Elizabeth, uh, I assume you know where esme prince was hiding. Oh, she wasn’t hiding. Esme was imprisoned by nikolas cassadine.

You and I, we don’t knoweach other very well, but when I saw you that night at the stables at wyndemere, what I saw was a woman who had been pushed to the edge. Pushed to the edge by people like ryan chamberlain. Pushed to the edge by people like your ex-husband. Ryan convinced esme to work with spencer to gaslight me, to seduce my husband, to separate me from the people who loved me. Ryan got exactly what he wanted. I will pay the price for the rest of my life. Only if they find nikolas’ body. Ava, what I hear you saying is that you’re done. So be done. Don’t let ryan win. Don’t let yourself be ryan chamberlain’s last victim. It all started the night I ran into esme on pier 55. This was the night of november 11th? You saw esme on the pier, called 911, and then you were found unconscious? Yes. Yeah. After I hit my head, I was — I was confused and disoriented. And nikolas was standing over me, asking me to trust him. And after that, I lost consciousness and woke up at G.H. I did not tell commissioner ashford that I had seen nikolas on the pier. Why not?

[ Sighs ] Because he was my friend and he asked for my help. Later, I got angry. Like, why did he put me in that position? Why did he leave me on the pier? So I went to wyndemere to confront him, and that’s when I found out that esme was there and pregnant with his child. And at the time, we both thought that she was the hook killer and dangerous. Nikolas was terrified that she was going to hurt his unborn child, and that’s why he was keeping her there against her will, to protect his baby and to keep her from killing anybody else. Except that esme wasn’t the one doing the killings. You came here looking for a fight, didn’t you? No, not a fight. Answers. I’m entitled to that. Look. I might be trina’s father, okay? Don’t you think that’s an important thing to know? I don’t know if you are or not, and neither does portia. When we spoke, I begged her to come clean. I reminded her of how my dishonesty broke up our marriage, but she wouldn’t budge. She said it was her business and none of mine. So what was i supposed to do? Wait. How many times did you talk to portia? Jordan. How long have you known trina might be my daughter? I can’t imagine how much it must hurt to know that your mom has kept that secret from you. And even though it was wrong… …you’ve just got to know that your mom loves you. And your dad loves you, too. Yeah. I know. And I know that you might not want to be around your mom right now, and I completely understand that. But she is your family, for better or for worse. Right now, it feels incredibly for worse. I’m so sorry. I wish that there was something I could do to make things better. I wish you could do, too. I love you and I support you and I have your back. I just wish I was there when you found this out. It’s okay. I wasn’t alone. I was with spencer. I don’t know what I would have done if I wasn’t with him. I’ve been trying so hard…

[ Clears throat ] …Trying to take responsibility for my actions… trying to build a stable home for my baby brother, trying to be a better man than my father. And now I learn that I’m the reason that my father is gone because I let myself be manipulated by a psychopath.

[ Baby cooing ] But you pulled yourself back from the brink, spencer. You recognized that it was esme who framed trina, and then you broke up with her. You even managed to make some sort of peace with ava. In my book, that makes you a good person… yes, and maybe even one day a great person. Thank you. Spencer, you don’t have to just stop blaming yourself. You need to stop feeling sorry for yourself. Yes, because we can’t go back in the past and change what happened. The best we can do is learn from it. Okay. So what will I learn from this? Think before you act. Examine your motives. Take responsibility for what you did wrong, but also what you did right, spencer. That’s how wisdom is acquired. And wisdom takes time. But right here, right now, there is an innocent baby boy who desperately needs our help. I can’t wait to hold my little grandson. To sing him songs… read him stories. And how do you expect that will happen? Well, you and the baby will be transferred back to spring ridge, and in the state of new york, you can keep the baby up to 18 months. I checked. And so I’ll get transferred back there, too. And how will you do that? I’m pretty good at working the system. And then we’ll all be together. You’ll protect your baby. And I’ll protect you. That’s been my plan. That’s what this whole thing was for, esme. So that we could finally be together. I will be… …an excellent grandmother. I promise you. Never. What? This is the last time that you will see me, and I promise you, you will never, ever get anywhere near my baby.

Spencer was there for me last night, and it was at my lowest time. Well, I still think he’s a jerk, but he has a way with words. Not just words. What does that mean? Spencer and I kissed.

[ Chuckles ] When exactly did it cross your mind that I might be trina’s father? About two years ago. Two — it was the night that portia and I got trapped in that basement. I was semiconscious from the leaking gas, and portia thought I was passed out. She thought we were dying. She mentioned trina’s father. Sounded like she had a question over paternity. I asked her about it later, and she brushed me off. Then a few months ago, I overheard her on the phone ordering genetic tests for trina. And it was around the same time that you were being tested for schizophrenia markers. Again, I asked portia about it. She told me to back off, and so I did. Did you? Or did you tell aunt stella, hoping she would use that information to blow up my wedding? Okay, stella figured it out all on her own and brought what she suspected to me. I had no choice but to confirm her suspicions. Of course you did! If I had any desire to interfere in your relationship, I would have said something months ago. Curtis… you have every right to your anger and pain, but you have no right to say anybody set out to hurt you — not portia and definitely not me. What was nikolas’ intention after esme gave birth? He said that he was gonna take care of the baby himself. Meanwhile, esme was insisting that she wasn’t the hook killer, but of course I didn’t believe her, not after all the horrible things that she had already done. Yeah, like recording her son having sex with his girlfriend and then posting it on a website, framing trina robinson. Yeah, scott, we know. Okay. Thank you. Please, continue. Well, once esme was locked up at wyndemere, the killings stopped. Until… cabrera was slashed with a hook. Heather webber killed the exotic animals dealer, as well. I told nikolas that we had to let esme go, that because of our actions police were focusing on her instead of the real killer. But he insisted that he was only gonna keep her until she gave birth. And then I started to fear that her life was in danger, but before I could do anything, she jumped from the tower. It’s a miracle she and the baby survived. Officers, please come get her out of here. No, esme. Please. Just let me stay. Whatever you want, I’ll do it! You have killed people. Do you even understand that? People who hurt you! I was only ever trying to protect you! Like any good mother would. Yeah, you think a good mother is protective? That’s what you think? Well, y-yeah. You know what? I think that you’re right. I think that a good mother protects her child. Yeah. And I’m going to protect my child by keeping him the hell away from you. No! Esme! All I wanted was to be a mother to you. My father is dead. And as far as I’m concerned, my mother is dead, too. No! Esme… I was convinced that once she had been found, nikolas and I were about to get caught. But then uncle victor swooped in to protect nikolas by destroying any evidence of esme’s imprisonment in the north tower. And you have no information on nikolas cassadine’s current whereabouts? Fighting with your ex-wife about who knew what and when? Shouldn’t you be talking to portia? I have. And? I don’t know what happened, you know? One minute, I was this happy, newly married man, and the next minute I’m canceling my honeymoon and picking up the pieces of my life. Have you spoken to trina yet?

[ Sighs ] Trina does not want to talk to me. She’s already accused me of trying to replace her dad. Maybe she’s right. I grew to care about that young lady so much. I looked forward to her coming home from college, hearing about her classes and her art projects, wanting to keep her safe when the hook killer was still out there. [ Breathing heavily ] Esme? Is everything okay? Where’s heather? Heather is in custody. She’s at the police station. Look, please don’t let her take my baby away.

Anyway, you’re the one who ultimately killed ryan. The world’s a better place now that ryan chamberlain is dead. Well, we agree on something. So, are — are you done? I still have a few more questions. Why don’t we start with why dr. Gatlin-holt was on spoon island in the first place? Good morning, commissioner. Da scorpio. Big congratulations on catching heather webber. I can go to the public now and assure them they’re safe, that the hook killer has been caught, and she’s going away for good. My people have already made progress. Ah. Dante: Commissioner? Oh, hey, robert. Good, you’re here. Heather’s ready to make a statement. Oh, hey, hey, hey. Hold on there, mr. Da. [ Exhales deeply ] I wonder if joss knows about everything that’s happened. Sonny was in my life for a very long time. Not as a father — I had one, obviously — but as a step-father. And we were family. He was good to you. He was. When I was little, before I knew about his business. Sonny still considers you family. It’s one of the reasons he thinks I’m not good enough for you. Like he has the right to judge anyone! After what he’s done? He’s had you beaten and tortured and you’re one person. Sonny’s hurt so many people, I can’t even count. Where does he get off thinking he’s better than anybody else? I mean, the hypocrisy of it all. So does that mean you want me to see this through? To make sure sonny goes to prison? What do you mean your f ather’s gone? What — what are you talking about? Gone for good? Sonny, I — I don’t know what to think anymore. I really don’T. I mean, how can someone just walk out on their child? I don’t even mean me at this point. You really think that my dad could turn his back on… an innocent baby? Well, obviously, because he’s still breathing. Unlike that doctor on new year’s eve. Britt westbourne. Was she your intended target? No. No. She appeared out of nowhere and then decided to play hero. And again josslyn jacks escaped. But they were none of them innocent. Everyone stood between me and protecting my little girl. Okay, let’s talk about officer cabrera. A keepsake from one of ryan’s victims was found on rory’s person. How did it get there? Have you heard from nikolas? No, I have not. And I don’t expect to. Things between us have gone too far. I’ve accepted that I’ve lost nikolas for good. Ryan has destroyed my life again. At least it’s for the last time. I have you to thank for that. I’m only sorry that I didn’t kill the bastard myself. After everything that ryan has put you through, killing him would be self-defense under any circumstances. You’ll never know how much ryan has taken from me. I know the breakup really hurt you, but you guys have been friends your entire lives. I feel like that kind of makes it worse. Are you hoping that maybe you guys can be friends again someday? I don’t know, mom. What josslyn did… she’s not the person I thought. Maybe she never was. [ Scoffs ] And this mystery person wants to take sonny down. It’s the whole reason I’m here. How close are you? I don’t have any solid evidence yet, but sonny is about to get involved with people in arms trafficking. The plan is for me to get evidence to my real boss, who will turn it over to the feds. Well, my first instinct is to say do it. No one’s forcing sonny to break the law, and you would just be reporting on what he’s doing. True.

[ Sighs ] But if this goes wrong and if you get caught, this lands on you, not on your mystery boss. What happens if you call the whole thing off? I mean, do you — do you have to work for sonny for real? I’d have to. Because sonny’s not just gonna let you walk away. Heather and ryan want my baby for themselves. They were talking about all of these plans and — heather is locked up. Yeah, for now. She has a revolving door in and out of spring ridge, and ryan is just — ryan is dead. I’m sorry, sweetheart. Well, cabrera surprised me, and we tussled a bit, and then in the struggle, he managed to grab one of the trophies off the chain. And I didn’t realize it till I got back to spring ridge. So you’re confessing to murdering six people and attacking four others? No, it was five, not six. Brando, oz haggerty, venom guy, rory cabrera, and dr. Britt… whatever you said her name was. What about corrections officer williams? He was stabbed to death when you and ryan and esme escaped spring ridge. I didn’t kill him. That was ryan! He stabbed williams. He planned the escape. He forced me and esme to go with him. You — you can’t pin this on me. I have bent over backwards convincing sonny that I want to work for him. I can’t just “change my mind” and tell him I’m not really cut out for this, not without him getting suspicious. If sonny had any idea that you were working against him… he’d kill me. Yes, you’re right. He would. So he can never know. So either I keep working for sonny… or I have to leave port charles. She found it.

[ Scoffs ] I just could never in a million years predict that she would hurt me the way that she did. Makes me feel like I never knew her at all. It always hurts when someone you love lets you down, but it doesn’t negate everything the two of you had. I mean, people make mistakes all the time, cameron. Big ones. And all you can do is come clean and deal with the consequences. Are we still talking about me and joss, mom? My client got…involved in a crime that was already in progress, and they would like to make things right and testify against the real perpetrator. Say more.

[ Sighs ] I need to hear the deal. For what? I need more information. Well, what can I say? My client is a good person. They’re not a criminal. They got mixed up in some bad business. It’s odd how something can come as a total shock and at the same time make perfect sense. Yeah, that’s right. I think we all felt that way… totally. …When we found out. Right. So is that it or…? No, not quite. Um… spencer, esme and ryan, they, um — they knew who they were to each other. Okay. For how long? Since esme got to port charles? Since before you met her. Spencer, ryan sent esme to that school in france to get close to you.

[ Scoffs and chuckles ] You’re saying that ryan sent his daughter to france to wha– to what? Seduce me in some long game to break up you and my fa– that’s pretty good, ava. Well… that’s good. Think about it, though. Whose idea was it to come to port charles and “stalk” me? Was it yours? Or was it esme’s? I spoke with ava. I’m about to question esme prince. Check her answers against what heather told us. I think once I talk to esme, we’ll have a much clearer picture about what happened on spoon island. I don’t know where my son is. But he came to see me at spring ridge to get me to sign my rights to the baby over. Why isn’t he here now? I wish I knew, esme. Hello? Esme. Laura. Heather led us out of the prison. Whose idea was it to escape? I’m not sure. I think heather and ryan were planning it together. But heather was the one who knew her way out of spring ridge. Dante: We know you and ryan were working together. You’d been planning this escape for months. No. No, no, no. I didn’t even know that ryan could walk and talk until esme showed up at spring ridge. No — he never even told me. He didn’t tell me that he could — you got to believe me. He showed me that he’d been faking his condition only when she showed up. And it was just because he wanted my help getting her out! Which you were more than happy to provide. Hardly! Ryan terrified me! I had to do what he said! Well, ryan isn’t saying anything. He’s dead. Esme was always going on and on about how you pushed me out of my father’s life. And she said that I should push back. She encouraged me to get revenge. Did you ever ask yourself… why she cared so much? I was no one to her. The two of you, you had the kind of life that teenagers dream of. You had europe at your fingertips. Wouldn’t living your best life have been the best revenge? No, apparently not. Esme was determined to get me back here. Because ryan ordered her to do all of that. And — and look what happened. Nikolas and I are divorced. And you and your father are more estranged than ever. It was ryan. Ryan played us all.

[ Groans ] All that misery because ryan couldn’t stand me being with someone else. Oh, my god. I cannot believe I was so blind. We all were. We were all blind… and used and manipulated. Heather’s escaped from tons of facilities, and every time I met with her, I felt like she was gloating. Like — like she knew something that I didn’T. No, no, no. Don’t do that. That’s heather’s M.O. She likes to torment people who she thinks have wronged her. It’s ironic we both ended up on her hit list, huh? You know what? I’m too tired for irony. I just want to shower off the past 48 hours. Do you want company? You know, now that you mention it, there’s this spot, like right — like there on my back that I can’t reach. Okay, I got it. I got it.

They wasted months when they could’ve worked towards a reconciliation. Must be tearing you up, watching nina go through this. All nina wants is to be a mother. Nina’s not perfect. I’m not perfect. Nobody’s perfect. But she wants the best for willow. She was evenxcited to donate her bone marrow for transplant. That was so generous and loving. Not that I’d expect anything less. But willow doesn’t want to see her mother. Nina’s never even held her granddaughter. I want to fix that. Willow’s condition is terminal, nina. She made a decision about how she wanted to spend whatever time that she’s got left. I understand that. It’s her right. But? But… drew, she has two small children who need her, who shouldn’t have to grow up without their mother. So if there’s a chance of prolonging her life, being here at the hospital just until we find another donor — she should take that chance. I mean, she should be here at the hospital. I mean, did anyone tell her that? She was aware that she had the option to stay at the hospital. She chose not to. She chose to go home. But by — by leaving, she’s not acting against any medical advice. Did michael and willow get a second opinion or a third opinion? I mean, can you just tell me this? What exactly did the specialist recommend? There’s nothing else they can do. Michael and willow accepted that. They made the decision together. With carly’s input, no doubt.

Look, when the merchandise arrives at pier 55, wee going to need trucks ready to deliver it to the warehouse. We’ll store it for 48 hours, and then we’ll deliver it to pikeman’s buyers. Look, this is heavy ordnance, so we’re gonna need six trucks. Make sure the mechanic’s checked them in advance. If anything breaks down, we’re all doing federal time. What’s pikeman? And how can it land you in federal prison? So sasha gained access to heather by claiming to be her lawyer. What?! You — you didn’t you didn’t tell the — I didn’t want to bust her, okay? I-I mean… I didn’t want to get in any more trouble than she’s already been in. You know?

[ Sighs ] She’s — she’s a nice lady. She’s been through hell. And now she’s just putting her life back together, and then… from what I read about heather webber, she’s gonna run through her like a buzzsaw through tissue paper. And then you — you blackmailed spinelli to set you up with britt for society setups. And you do have a sealed juvenile arrest record. I am the model citizen. But ever since britt died, you have… showed that you obviously cared about her a lot. And I really appreciate you showing concern for sasha. What I’m trying to say is, okay, maybe I misjudged you. You didn’T. I only have the vaguest memory of ryan chamberlain dragging me and my daughter away from spring ridge. Ryan is terrifying. Every time I was with him, I would lose time for hours afterwards. Sometimes I really think he was trying to hypnotize me. Hey, bennet. Is heather webber in with the lawyer? Interrogation 1. I think wiley’s too young to understand the concept of death, and it’s okay if you didn’t want to tell him your first morning home. I’ve been reading all the literature about it. I know we have to explain this to him. But when I think about actually saying the words, my mind goes blank. How do I tell my little boy that I’m going to leave him forever and it didn’t have to be that way? I’m working on the pikeman shipment in order to get evidence against sonny. Are you a cop? And so that’s why I blackmailed spinelli into setting me up with her. And it worked for a minute. How so? Well, you know I was with britt when she opened up peter aust’s safe deposit box. We found the necklace. Yeah, I’m sure you felt like you hit the jackpot in vegas. Eh, for about two seconds. In retrospect, I wish we never found it. Why? That necklace was the beginning of the end for me and britt. I don’t know. Maybe it was fate. Fate? I have heard that that necklace is cursed, just like the diamond it came from. I was up all nig researching heather’s past. She is a kidnapper, a murderer, a vicious maniac. She should never have been given life without parole. Truthfully, she should have been given the death penalty 30 years ago. But heather repeatedly exploits her mental illness. She gets herself committed rather than going to prison then somehow regains her release, either by escape or by manipulating the legal system. You’re right. I mean, there are a lot of loopholes in the system, and heather’s been pretty masterful in working her way through them. Well, this time will be different. This time, I will be a witness for the prosecution, and I’m gonna take you down for good.

Well, that’s not the same thing. She owed willow the truth. She didn’t owe you anything. Wow. You’re just as righteous and unfeeling as carly. I see it now. And when payback comes, you’ll be just as deserving. Nina went to the hospital to try to visit willow. Willow’s not at the hospital. I-I brought her home this morning. What do you…? So there’s no hope for treatment? We’re still waiting for a donor. But we’re running out of time. Well, then it’s important, michael, for willow and nina to connect. [ Cellphone chimes ] Only in reference to the necklace, but no specifics, why? Well, at one time, it was the world’s largest uncut diamond, and it belonged to my grandfather, mikkos cassadine. I had heard that you were related to the cassadines somehow. I’ve never been a particularly superstitious person, but once I found out that the diamond in britt’s necklace was part of the ice princess, I was like, “no way.” I saw all these flashing lights, and it was just like — ooh, chills up my spine. Nothing but misery has ever come out of that diamond.

[ Scoffs ] I wish that I could blame all my failures on some cursed diamond, but I only have myself to blame for all the mistakes I made with britt. I let my greed get the better of me. Now, that is very big of you to admit. Shocker, right?

[ Chuckles ] But greed… gets the best of me over and over and over. Yeah, greed has caused me to make a lot of bad decisions. And then guess what? I just stopped. How? I guess I have realized that there were more valuable things to chase. If I could figure that out, you could figure that out, too. Here’s hoping. Yeah. Thanks for the coffee, sam. Of course. I was with brando in charlie’s in his last moments, before he went to follow josslyn jacks into that alley where you callously, brutally murdered him. I-I don’t even know anyone named brando.

[ Chuckles ] The jury will know him. I will tell them. I was eating pie when he left. Our last kiss tasted like cherries. I will testify to brando’s frame of mind, to his courage, his kindness. I will make the jury feel the terrible injustice of my husband’s murder. Your poor, pitiful lunatic act won’t stand a chance against my grieving widow. And I won’t stop in the courtroom. I will go on podcasts, talk shows, anyone who will give me a platform, and I will crusade about the loopholes in the legal system that allowed a psychopath like you to rampage through port charles when you should have been stopped decades ago! Willow says she knows they have to tell Wiley she is going to die, but she doesn’t know how. Dex tells Joss he was hired to get evidence to take Sonny down. She asks who his employer is. Michael asks if Sonny is there about Nina. Cody tells Sam about finding the necklace with Britt. Sasha says she is going to take Heather down for good.

Willow doesn’t want to leave her family. Carly comforts her. Nina says Drew is just as unfeeling as Carly and just as deserving of payback. Michael says Willow gets to decide who she spends her remaining time with. Sonny tells him he is done trying to reach him and what happens next is on him. Dex tells Joss he can’t tell her who hired him, but he will quit if she wants him to. Sam tells Cody that he can change like she did. Cody leaves and looks at Mac’s phone number on his phone. Sasha says she is going to do whatever it takes to make sure Heather is found guilty on all counts. Heather tells Dante she is ready to confess.

Dante and Sam get home and discuss their flight. Cody pays a ticket at the PCPD and see Heather. Sasha shows up and asks to see Heather. Joss wakes up in bed with Dex, they kiss. Brook Lynn congratulates Sonny on his new granddaughter. He asks Brook Lynn to help him. Drew is at the hospital finishing up Willow’s paperwork. Nina overhears him say Willow is gone. Willow gets home with Michael and Wiley and Carly is waiting for them with Amelia.

Sonny tells Brook Lynn that him and Michael are still fighting. Brook Lynn feels bad for him. He asks her to help him find a way to convince Willow to see Nina. Willow is holding Amelia while her and Michael talk to Wiley about being a big brother. Carly helps clean up. Michael thanks her for her help. Drew explains to Nina that Willow went home. Nina questions why she left the hospital. Drew tells her that there is nothing they can do for her without a bone marrow donor and Willow wanted to be home with her family. Nina asks if Willow is giving up. Joss and Dex snuggle in bed and talk about spending the night together for the first time and making their relationship more. Sam and Dante kiss on the couch and talk about what happened with Ryan and Heather on Spoon Island. Sam wants to take a shower and Dante offers to join her. Sasha pretends to be Heather’s lawyer. Cody questions if she knows what she is doing. Sasha says Heather killed her husband and she is going to get justice.

Carly tells Michael and Willow that Amelia is sleeping and Wiley asks Willow why she is always tired. Sonny tells Brook Lynn that Nina just wants to be a mother but Willow doesn’t want to see her and he wants to fix that. Drew explains that Willow is terminal and she made her decision. Nina says she should try to prolong her life as long as she can. Drew tells her she chose to go home. Nina wants to know what the specialist recommended and Drew tells her Michael and Willow made the decision together. Nina believes Carly had input too. Cody shows up at Sam and Dante’s penthouse to tell Dante Sasha is in trouble and needs his help. Sasha pretends to be Heather’s lawyer and asks to talk to her alone when the officer brings her in. Heather asks if she is her lawyer. Heather says she forgets days at a time.

Willow tells Wiley she still needs to rest for a while. He promises to play quietly. Michael says he doesn’t have to and he will take him to make pizza with Olivia and Leo. After they leave Willow cries about how hard it is and Carly comforts her. Nina thinks Carly loves having Willow somewhere she has no access to her. Drew tells her that is not true. Nina says she can’t believe Drew is ok with Carly lying to him for months. Dex brings breakfast back for Joss and his phone rings. The call is about the Pikeman shipment. Joss overhears him. He sees her when he turns around. She asks what Pikeman is and how it can land him in prison? Cody tells Dante that Sasha pretended to be Heather’s lawyer to get access to her. He says he didn’t rat her out because he didn’t want her to get in trouble. He asks Dante to help her without exposing her. After Dante leaves Sam asks why Cody cares so much about Sasha.

Michael see Sonny and Brook Lynn talking and asks Sonny what he wants to talk to him about. Dex tells Joss the less she knows the better. Joss tells him she doesn’t want to pretend like her mother did with Sonny. He tells her that he won’t be in jail, Sonny will. Willow wonders if being home when she is so weak is good for her kids. Carly tells her they love having her there. Willow asks how much longer they can lie to Wiley about her illness. Drew tells Nina he isn’t ok with what Carly did but they are connected through Michael and Willow and family. Nina says they seem very close. Drew says the family is rallying around Willow. Nina says she is Willow’s family too and she can’t be near her because Carly ruined any chance she had to have a relationship with her child. Drew tells her he is sorry Willow doesn’t want to see her and he knows it is painful but she has no one else to blame but herself. Sam gives Cody a cup of coffee. He is surprised she didn’t kick him out. She tells him he has changed since Britt died and she may have misjudged him. Heather tells Sasha she has vague memories of Ryan dragging her and Esme from Spring Ridge. Dante shows up and Sasha tells him Heather is going to fake insanity to get away with the Hook killings.

Willow says they should have told Wiley she was going to die soon. Carly says it is a hard conversation to have with a child and Wiley is too young to understand the concept of death. Willow says she knows they have to tell him, but she doesn’t know how. Dex tells Joss he is working to get evidence to take Sonny down. She asks if he is a cop, and he says no. She wonders if anything he told her is true. He tells her it is, but he left things out. He tells her he was hired to get information on Sonny. She asks who his employer is. Brook Lynn tells Sonny and Michael that family can hurt you the worst and can save you. She leaves and Sonny says she is right. Michael asks if Sonny is there about Nina. Cody tells Sam about finding the necklace with Britt. Sasha says Heather should have gotten the death penalty but she exploits her mental illness. Dante agrees Heather is good at finding the loopholes. Sasha says she is going to take Heather down for good.

Carly tells Willow she fought as hard as she could. Willow says she could have started treatment but it would have killed the baby. She convinced herself she could have a healthy baby and beat leukemia and was only half right. She worries she put Amelia over Wiley. Carly tells her she made the best choice for herself as a mother. She says she did the best she could for both of her children. Willow says she is afraid. She doesn’t want to leave her kids and Michael. Carly hugs her. Drew tells Nina she alienated Willow herself. She says everything changed when she found out Willow was her daughter. He tells her that she changed but Willow hasn’t. Nina blames Carly for not telling them sooner. Drew says she owed Willow the truth but didn’t owe Nina anything. She says he is just as unfeeling as Carly and just as deserving of payback. Michael tells Sonny he brought Willow home and they are still waiting for a donor. Sonny tells him he has to convince Willow to see Nina. Michael says he can’t do that. He takes ownership of his actions, and she says he can change like she did. Cody leaves and looks at Mac’s phone number on his phone. Sasha tells Heather her act is compelling but she is compelling to and the jury will hear her. Sasha says she is going to do whatever it takes to make sure Heather is found guilty on all counts. Dante tells Sasha she has to leave. Heather tells Dante she is ready to confess.

Esme staggers into Wyndemere and says that she is in labor. Portia is on the phone with her brother and assures him that she is fine. After she hangs up there is a knock on her door, it’s Taggert. Finn brings Liz home and offers to hang out with her. She tells him he doesn’t have to worry about her. Felicia tries to assure Austin that Mac will keep Ava safe. Spencer, Trina and Alexis discuss Ryan being Esme’s father. An officer tells Jordan that there were shots fired on the island. They call for paramedics for Esme. Kevin says her contractions are coming fast. Ava holds Ryan at gunpoint and pulls the trigger but the gun is empty. Ryan says she is not done with him yet.

Finn compliments Liz’s wedding toast and says it sounded like a goodbye. Scott shows up to finish their conversation from earlier. Taggert and Portia discuss Trina. Spencer tells Alexis about tricking Esme into thinking he knew who her mother was when he was trying to help Trina. Alexis tells them Heather is the Hook killer. Kevin says they can’t wait for the paramedics, the baby is coming now. Felicia continues to assure Austin and tells him how lucky he is that he is stable and going to be ok. They discuss his friendship with Ava. Ryan approaches Ava but she pushes him away. He runs at her but is shot by Mac.

Finn takes a call from the hospital and Liz tells Scott she doesn’t want Finn involved. Finn has to leave but asks her to not make any rash decisions. After he leaves Scott wants to get started but Liz tells him she has already made her decision. Mac checks Ryan and he is still alive but passes out. Jordan shows up and Mac comforts Ava. Jordan checks on Ryan and says he is dead. She asks what happened. Mac tells her he fired the kill shot when Ryan was attacking Ava. Ava asks why he covered for her. He promises her that Ryan’s reign of terror is over. Alexis explains how she figured out the Hook killer was Heather. Spencer is worried about the baby. Laura assures Esme that Kevin will take care of her. Esme says she doesn’t want Heather there. Laura tells the officer to take Heather away. Heather tells her that she is her mother. Esme is not happy to hear that news.

Taggert and Portia discuss her affair with Curtis and their marriage. He asks her if she thought he would have loved Trina less if she wasn’t his. He says she should have told him from the start. Trina runs to Ava when she gets off the launch. She tells them Ryan is dead. Spencer asks about Esme but the officer says Ava has to go to GH immediately. Spencer tells Trina to go with Ava. Felicia asks why Austin was at Spoon Island that night. He thinks about their deal to move Nik’s body. He is worried about the police finding the body. Finn comes in to check on him. Ryan is zipped into a body bag. Jordan assures Mac that he is a good cop and he did the right thing. Jordan wonders what role Esme had in everything that happened. Heather promises Esme they will never be apart. Esme demands to know if Heather is really her mother. Laura tells her that the evidence suggests that she is. Esme vows Heather will never be near her or the baby again. The office drags Heather out of the room as Esme cries and Laura comforts her.

Laura and Kevin coach Esme through her labor. Laura promises to stay with her and help her through it. Taggert says if Portia had told him the truth he would have been mad but he would have listened to her explanation. He is mad she didn’t give him the chance to show that Trina means more to him than DNA. Portia asks if Trina wants to know who her real father is. Taggert says they didn’t discuss it, but he is Trina’s father, period. Finn asks Austin what happened at Wyndemere. When Ava gets to the hospital, she tells Felicia Mac is ok and Ryan is dead. Liz and Scott discuss what Liz and Nik did to Esme. She asks if he can get her a deal. Alexis tells Spencer Laura is on the island. He hears Heather say Esme is in labor. Heather tells Spencer he was next. Spencer tells Jordan he needs to go to Wyndemere. Kevin and the paramedic tell Esme its time, and she delivers the baby. She asks if the baby is ok.

Portia assures Taggert he will always be Trina’s father. He tells her they both made mistakes with Trina and Portia helped Trina forgive him and they are a family no matter what. Trina asks Ava if she ok and tells her to not feel guilty about Ryan being dead. Ava remembers her conversation with Ryan. Trina offers to try and find Nik for her. Laura says Esme will be in the hospital under police custody but will not be separated from her child. Spencer arrives and Laura tells him he has a little brother.

Mac tells Kevin Ryan is dead and he killed him. Kevin asks to see him. Portia thanks Taggert for being so generous with her. He tells her he will make sure Trina is ok and that she is very forgiving. Portia is worried she lost her forever. Trina and Ava talk about the Hook killer being caught. Alexis asks Finn about Austin. She asks about his friend in legal trouble. He says it’s out of his hands. Liz says she can’t live with the guilt and has to worry about her boys. Scott tells her that they need her. Liz says she hopes he can keep her out of prison. He promises to do everything he can. Mac takes Kevin to Ryan’s body. He unzips the bag to be sure. Felicia shows up and comforts Kevin as they look at Ryan’s body. Kevin hopes he is at peace. Spencer tells Esme the baby looks like a Cassadine. She tells him she knows he isn’t the father. She tells him she isn’t the person she was before, and she loves the baby and will do anything for him. She asks Spencer to tell Nik about the baby. He says he doesn’t know how to reach him either. Ava wants to talk to Austin, but the nurse says he needs his rest and won’t let her in.

If esme is ryan’s daughter, then he sees her as a possession, someone that belongs to him. It’s like an extension of himself. And we know that he’s obsessed with ava. He’ll do anything to hold her. I can’t wait here helplessly while ryan does his worst. We have got to make some kind of a move.

[ Grunting, breathing heavily ] Esme.

[ Crying ] -What? -Esme? Oh. Oh. Oh. Esme, keep your hands where I can see them. I can’T. It hurts. Oh, are you hurt? No, I’m in labor, I’m in labor, I’m in labor.

[ Gasping ] I’d appreciate it if you didn’t say anything to mama and daddy just yet. I want things to, um, you know, calm down just a little bit first. No, zeke, no, I don’t want you to come back. [ Sighs ] Thank you for the coffee and the ride home. It’s quiet here without the boys. Mm-hmm.

[ Chuckles ] You, um, want a little company? We could watch a movie or play a little backgammon. You know I don’t play backgammon.

Any word? Well, nothing so far. But the team searching the island for ryan all know that she’s still out there. She has a gun.

[ Monitor beeping ] I’m a little worried that the cops are going to mistake her for a threat and shoot at her. Try not to assume the worst. Mac is leading the team. He’ll make sure that ava’s safe. I thought esme’s parents were dead. Her adoptive parents are, but her nanny implied that her biological father was still alive, which would explain why she was so eager to volunteer at spring ridge and why she was so fascinated by ryan chamberlain. She’s known he was her father the whole time. But she couldn’t have known that heather webber was her mother. That’s one thing that I am absolutely sure of. She did not fake her desperation to find her mother. The baby’s coming? I’ll be here for the delivery. -Quiet. -Do you think she’s faking? Jordan: Looks pretty real to me. Let’s not chance it. I’m going to call for paramedics. Commissioner, we have reports of shots fired. Where? Northwest corner, spoon island woods. Ava and ryan. Maybe. Okay, I need you to take custody of the prisoner. You sure, commissioner? There’s a lot of woods to cover. Heather webber is the hook killer. I need to know she’s not going anywhere. Officer, you’re with me, and, bennet, call for paramedics. Copy that. Miss prince appears to be in labor. Dispatch, this is detective bennet. I need a medical transport dispatched immediately to spoon island, main house. A woman is in labor. My god, what is happening out there?

[ Crying ] I think it’s best to focus on what’s happening here. The contractions are coming fast.

[ Screams ] Oh.

[ Gun clicks ]

You got me. I’m worried about you. You seemed to be enjoying the wedding, but your toast… you don’t like it? I told you it was beautiful, but it sounded wistful. Your celebration of portia and curtis’s beginning sounded a little bit like an ending for you.

[ Doorbell rings ] Oh, hi, elizabeth. Swung by, took a chance after the wedding. Yeah, well, here I am. What are you doing here? We have unfinished business, wouldn’t you say? Nice sweatshirt. It was a gift from trina. She gave one to curtis, too. She said we could wear it on the plane to our honeymoon. Sounds like trina. She’s thoughtful that way. Yeah, she is. And you can go ahead and say it. What can I say, portia? The trina is generous, giving, and loving, and that I don’t deserve her. Don’t worry. I feel the same way. When trina was still standing trial, I dangled the possibility of finding esme’s mother if she would exonerate trina, and she genuinely considered it. And she would not have done that if she had known that her mother was just a few miles away at d’archam. That must have been some bluff on your part. I was doing whatever I could to help you. I wonder how esme feels about heather seeking retribution in her name. Oh, you don’t know. Heather webber is not just esme’s mother. She’s the hook killer. Help her, for god’s sake. Keep back. Do you feel pain here? It’s more like pressure. Oh, god, here it comes again. We can’t wait for the paramedics.

I’ll do the paperwork without complaint. Chamberlain made felicia’s life hell. He would’ve killed her tonight. Felicia and ava both. That’s a big win for the community. Heather webber’s crimes ensure she will never see the light of day again, but there’s still esme prince and what role, if any, she had in what played out tonight. And whether she’ll spend the night in a cell or a maternity ward. We’ve finally been reunited. We will never be parted again. This way. Wait, is this true? Would I lie to you?

Well, why aren’t you screaming at me? Why aren’t you yelling at me? Because I know that you have every right to. Because I would like to think that I’ve grown in time, that I can — that I can put myself in your shoes, that I can understand what you did and why you did it. But understanding it doesn’t make it hurt any less. Damn it, portia! So I wish you would’ve given me the chance to show you that my bond with trina is a lot more than dna. I mean, ever since she was born, in every way that counts, she was my daughter, but because you were dishonest, she is now questioning that.

[ Crying ] Which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. But all I’ve done is make it worse.

How’s austin? He’s — he’s doing okay. They ruled out the poison, and the wound isn’t what we feared. How are you doing? I’m good, I’m fine, physically. But jordan and mac, they wanted me to come here and get checked out, so — which was a good idea. Mac is okay? Yeah. What about ryan? Did he get away? Of course you’re trina’s dad. You raised that girl. You’ve always been there for her. Not always. I let her think I was dead, lied to her, thinking I was protecting her, but that deception hurt her. You’re not the only one who makes mistakes, portia. We both screwed up, thinking we’re doing the right thing at the right time. Trina’s the most important thing to both of us. You got that right. You got that. I remember how mad she was, how she didn’t want anything to do with me, but you just kept chipping away at her defenses… …encouraged her to hear me out. Aw, I can’t believe you let nikolas talk you into that cockamamie plan. And where is he now? He’s just somewhere, and he left you holding the bag? If you can’t help me, I’ll understand, but I can’t live with this guilt, and I have to mitigate the damage to the boys. Yeah, elizabeth, you’ve got to be there for the boys. I know. I’ve let them down so much lately. The only stability they have in their lives is cameron, and he’s just too young to shoulder all this responsibility. Yeah, and how is going to prison going to help them? Well, that’s what I’m hoping you can prevent. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No problem. Walk in the park for me. Okay, I know I’m asking a lot, but you’re practically the boys’ grandfather and the closest thing I have to a dad. Elizabeth, I will do everything in my power to get you out of this mess. At least it’s the end of a long nightmare for you. But he was still your brother. I hope you find the peace you never could in this life… …brother. He’s beautiful, isn’t he?

[ Baby crying ] He looks like a cassadine. Nikolas told me the truth. You’re not the father of my son, he is. Right. I just thought that since — the person I used to be sounds pretty messy. It’s no wonder you didn’t know who the father was. I’m not that person anymore, spencer, I promise you. I love your little brother, and I would do anything for him. I’ll come and check on you after you’re settled in in the hospital, but get some rest tonight, okay? Thank you. And stay warm. And, um, spencer, can you tell your father about the baby? I don’t know how to reach him. That makes two of us.

[ Door closes ] I’m sorry. Dr. Gatlin-holt is about to be moved. You’ll have to see him in the morning. But I need to talk to him. Well, he needs his rest. We’re here today to set the record straight about dupuytren’s contracture. Surgery is not your only treatment option.

Alexis asks Finn about Austin and his friend in legal trouble. Liz says she hopes Scott can keep her out of prison. Felicia comforts Kevin as they look at Ryan’s body. Esme tells Spencer she knows he isn’t the baby’s father. She asks him to tell Nik about the baby. Ava wants to talk to Austin, but the nurse won’t let her.

Spencer and Trina kiss in the gallery and she asks him to not stop. Curtis goes to the Savoy to drink. He sends the bartender home but she makes a call to someone to come to the Savoy. Alexis tells Laura and Kevin that Heather is the Hook killer. Ava tells Felicia they should leave. Heather tells her she should stay so she can find out everything Ryan did and tells her Ryan had help destroying her life. Ryan tells Esme he wants to help her. She tells him the baby is coming and he says they have to get back to the house.

Curtis flashes back to talking to Trina about his house rules and sharing desert as he drinks. His father shows up and tells him to stop drinking. Spencer and Trina kiss and talk about how long they have wanted each other. She starts to unbutton his shirt and he stops her and says she means to much to him so he won’t. She asks why not. Alexis tells Laura and Kevin that Heather had access to the typewriter that typed the letter that was sent to her. Kevin says the breakout was a family affair. Alexis asks what she is missing. Ryan tries to assure Esme that he is on her side and will help her and he is the only person who can and she has to trust him. Austin tries to get up and Heather apologizes for hooking him. Ava demands to know what Ryan did and who helped him.

Marshall asks Curtis to tell him what is going on. Curtis says he doesn’t want to talk about it. Marshall says he isn’t leaving until they talk. Alexis is surprised to find out Ryan is Esme’s father. They figure out Heather must be her mother. Esme says she is not going anywhere with Ryan. He tells her they were close before she lost her memory. Heather tells Ava she has the chance to end it with Ryan and gives her the gun. Felicia tells her to shoot Heather but Ava says she has to stop Ryan.

Curtis tells Marshall about him potentially being Trina’s father. Spencer asks Trina if she is sure that it’s what she wants. She says yes and asks if he does and he tells her that he does but not in an empty art gallery when she is hurting. He offers to take her home, but she is not ready to go home. He asks where he can take her. Kevin tells Alexis that Esme’s amnesia is real. Laura says she thinks before the amnesia Esme was entitled and elitist, but underneath was a wounded little girl. Kevin says he thinks Ryan used her and with no memory she could be an innocent accessory. Alexis says she can believe Esme is unwilling but not innocent. Mac and Jordan get into Wyndemere and Mac is reunited with Felicia who tells them what happened and that Ava went after Ryan. Heather is arrested. Austin tells Jordan that Heather is the one who hooked him. Heather says there was no venom on the hook she used on Austin. Heather tells them that Ryan is Esme’s father. Ryan tries to reason with Esme, but she screams for help. Ava comes out of the bushes with the gun and tells Ryan to get away from Esme or she will blow his head off.

Curtis tells Marshall Stella found out and Jordan knew as well. Marshall doesn’t believe Stella would know but wouldn’t tell Curtis. Curtis tells him she thought Trina needed to hear it from Portia. Curtis doesn’t understand how she could have kept the secret for so long. Marshall explains how he kept his secret. Trina asks Spencer to take her to where he is staying. He suggests her dorm room but she says no. She says she needs a place she can yell and be alone with her thoughts. He says he knows a place that will work. Laura updates Kevin and Alexis on what Mac told her. Laura and Kevin head to Spoon Island. Alexis calls someone to report the breaking news. Mac and Felicia argue about her going back to the mainland while he hunts for Ryan. Austin asks her to come with him and she agrees. Ryan asks Av how she got the gun. She realizes Esme is in labor. She is shocked when she finds out Esme is Ryan’s daughter. Ava realizes Ryan was behind everything that happened. She tells Ryan she will kill him if he comes closer.

Curtis says Marshall was protecting his family and Portia was protecting herself. Marshall says Portia was scared like he was. Curtis says some things are unforgiveable. Felicia tells Alexis she can’t interview Austin until he has been treated at the hospital. She tries to get more information from Felicia but she leaves to go to the hospital with Austin. Spencer and Trina show up on the docks. He tells Alexis he was going to take Trina there to spend the night with Ava. Alexis tells them Esme is on the island and she is not alone. Laura and Kevin get to Wyndemere and offer any help they can give. Kevin tells them Heather is Esme’s mother. Ryan tries to calm Ava down, but she calls him out for everything he did to hurt her. Ryan turns around and sees Esme has escaped.

Ryan says they need to find Esme and Ava shoots him as he tries to walk away. Ava admits to killing Nikolas because of what Ryan did. Marshall says he knows Curtis is hurting but he was able to forgive him so he can forgive Portia too. Spencer is worried about Esme and the baby being Ryan and Heather’s hostage. Alexis tells him she is their daughter. Esme staggers into the house and Laura hugs her. Heather looks on jealously. Ryan tells Ava they will find Esme and get away and Ava pulls the trigger again.

[ Exhales deeply ] Hey! It’s n’neka down at the savoy. Um, I don’t exactly know what’s happening, but you really need to get down here…like now. Jordan’s on her way over to wyndemere. What’s going on in wyndemere? Off the record? Fine. A hostage situation. Does this have anything to do with the three that escaped spring ridge? Why do you ask? Well, it’s why I wanted to talk to the commissioner. All the victims were linked to trina robinson. Yeah, we know that already. And esme prince. That list was compiled to avenge esme prince. We suspected something like that, but we didn’t have any concrete proof. Kevin: Do you? Do you know why the hook would avenge esme? I don’t know why. But I know who. You know? Are you sure about that? Who is it? It’s heather webber. Felicia, I think the best idea is for us to leave the island, and we will send help back for austin. You know, actually… now that I think about it, ava… you might want to hang back. And why would I want to do that? To finally end this unholy obsession between you and ryan once and for all. That obsession is one-sided. Thank you very much. And I will let the authorities deal with ryan — again. Let’s go, felicia. But aren’t you even the least bit curious to hear everything that ryan did to try to get you back? Not particularly, no. And how he’s responsible, really, for destroying your life in the process? Because when you do, I assure you… you’re gonna want to take care of ryan yourself. Ava, let’s go. I’m listening. How exactly did a man locked up in prison destroy my life? Isn’t it obvious yet? And while I hope this doesn’t compromise the friendship that we decided to try out, I’ll understand if it does. Two steps forward, one step back is still progress. Fork? Fork. Yes. [ Glass thuds ] Do you have any idea how long I’ve wanted this? I wanted it, too. Even when… hm. …Everyone told me to stay away. Heather webber is the hook killer? How can that be? She was locked up. Laura, she was locked up shortly and she just broke out. What makes you think she hasn’t broken out on a regular basis? Actually, you’re right. She has broken out of other facilities before. And there’s more. You know that letter that the hook killer presumably wrote? -Yes. -I remember a reference about avenging someone the killer cares about. It was written on an old-school typewriter with a very specific keystroke. So I called d’archam. And guess who had access to that exact same machine. That explains why they all broke out together. It was a family affair. You two clearly know something that I don’t know. So what — what am I missing here? We broke out of prison. It’s probably that stress that sent you into labor. But the good news is the contractions are just beginning. That means there’s plenty of time before the baby comes. Why should I… believe you? Because I’m a doctor. And I’m also your dad. Which is why I couldn’t let you stay in jail. We’re a team, you and me. And a damn good one.

[ Chuckles ] Just ask nikolas.

[ Groans ] Okay. Alright. Alright. No need to panic. Everything is proceeding normally. Nothing about this is normal! I have to get out of here.
