On July 29, 2024, Ava confided in John that Sonny had been neglecting his bipolar medication, leading to increased volatility. John saw this as an opportunity to provoke Sonny into a public outburst that could be used against him.

At the courthouse, John antagonized Sonny by discussing sensitive topics, nearly provoking Sonny into physical retaliation. Michael intervened, preventing the situation from escalating further.

Recap written by Michele and Cheryl

Holly refused to go to Paris with Nicole. Nicole informed her that if they stayed in town, EJ would make her life with Eric miserable. Holly supported them going, but she didn’t want to leave Salem. Nicole thought it was because of Tate. Eric ran into Justin at the pub. He let him know that he heard about the wedding. Justin realized they both been through a lot. Eric talked to him about EJ, and his divorce from Sloan. He offered to help Eric with the paperwork. Eric wished Nicole’s divorce was that easy. Theresa arrived at the Kiriakis mansion to approach Alex and Brady. She wanted to take responsibility for what she did. Alex yelled at her for destroying his life. He wondered what explanation she could have for ruining his life. Theresa thought she was doing him a favor. She never wanted him to get hurt. Theresa said she loved him. Alex told her that she didn’t know anything about love. He thought she was a con artist who just wanted his money. Alex never wanted to see her again. He decided to get an annulment. It would be like their marriage never happened, and he wished that could happen with their relationship. Theresa started crying when he walked out the room. Brady thought that went well. Xander told Maggie that Theresa was the one who kidnapped Victoria. He was upset that Victor only acknowledged him when he died. Maggie knew he was hurt, but she thought Victor would have told him at some point. Xander reminded her that Victor still treated him like dirt. He couldn’t believe he would do that to his son.

Fiona felt like Xander needed to get used to his new reality before he got married. Sarah informed her that they were in love for years. She told her that she and Victoria give him the stability he needs. Fiona was looking out for her son even though she doesn’t have the right. Sarah wondered why she abandoned him. She told Sarah something offscreen that shocked her. Fiona didn’t think he would want to hear it from her. She thought he could take it better if Sarah told him. Maggie thought Victor was hard on Xander because he reminded him of himself. All Xander wanted was for Victor to be proud of him. Maggie told him that Victor loved him and that was why he gave him half his fortune. Xander thought he did it out of guilt. Maggie was about to leave the apartment when Sarah arrived home. Sarah told Xander that she invited Fiona to their future wedding. He asked her why he would want her there. Sarah told him that Fiona had a nervous breakdown and was admitted into an institution. She worked hard to get sober. Sarah continued to tell Xander about Fiona’s story. He didn’t believe a word Fiona said. Sarah said she believed her. Alex ran into Justin. He knew he acted pompous when he thought he was Victor’s son. Alex felt bad that he forgot about the decent man who raised him. He hoped Justin could forgive him. Justin hoped Alex could forgive him too. Justin wanted to rebuild their relationship. They forgave each other. Holly told Nicole that Tate was at lacrosse camp, and she wouldn’t see him. Nicole wondered where she would go. Maggie approached them and offered to let Holly stay with her. Holly remembered that Theresa lived at the mansion and hated her. Maggie didn’t think that would be a problem anymore. Holly and Nicole said goodbye to each other. Brady told Theresa that he was disappointed in her. She told him that she did that because he rejected her. He admitted that he wanted her, but he was in denial. Brady thought they had a chance when they hooked up, but she jumped ship. She didn’t want to get hurt again. Theresa admitted that she loved him and always would. He loved her too, but her actions proved they were wrong for each other. Brady said goodbye to her. Maggie walked in the room and confronted Theresa about kidnapping Victoria. Theresa cried over what she did. She asked Maggie for one more favor. Theresa wanted her to drive her to the police station so she could turn herself in to the police. She wanted her to go with her so she wouldn’t change her mind.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

[soft dramatic music]

[sighs]

Wow. Quiet this morning?

Yeah. Well, your teenage grandson has yet to emerge from his bedroom, which means the daily debate of whether he can have his AirPods on at the breakfast table is gonna have to be postponed.

Well, maybe he’s just sleeping in.

[chuckles] He’s trying to sleep the day away so he can avoid the consequences of what he did last night.

Yeah. Well, it’s a shame about the prom, wasn’t it? Especially with Tate and Holly.

Yeah. It was very disastrous, especially when Theresa decided to drag Holly home from the hotel.

Yeah. I’m not sure that was necessary.

No. I–I– I think her anger was justified. We have–we told Tate from the very beginning, you are not allowed to see Holly Jonas, and he decided on his own to go ahead and defy us and– doesn’t happen all the time, but Theresa and I, we are of one mind about this. [soft dramatic music]

Hmm.

Oh, no. I–I– I know that face, and I know that “hmm.” And that’s when you’re keeping your own counsel, right?

You know me too well.

[chuckles] Hmm. You wanna to tell me what you think?

Only if you want to hear it.

Hey, a lot of people in this town pay big bucks for your insight, and one of the perks I get for living here is that I get it for free, so–

I’m wondering, uh, if your reaction has less to do with what Tate did and more to do with how you feel about his mother.

Wow. I’m surprised to see you up and about so early.

Hey, Bonnie.

Ooh. I figured you’d be sleeping in after prom night. How was chaperoning?

Oh, it was great, if you consider walking in in the nick of time to stop two kids from having sex together in a hotel room.

Oh, boy.

Yeah. “Oh, boy” is right. We caught Tate and Holly at the Good Old Salem Inn.

I thought those two weren’t supposed to be–

To be seeing each other? Yeah, no. They weren’t. We found out Tate has been sneaking around with that neurotic little liar, even after everything she did to try and ruin his life.

Oh. So I take it last night was a total disaster for everyone, then.

Not everyone. Mm.

Oh.

One thing went very right last night. [intriguing music]

Good morning, my love.

Oh! Good morning.

Hmm. What’s all this?

These are our wedding invitations. They just came from the printer.

Ah, yes.

Aren’t they beautiful?

They are. And may I just say how grateful I am that, unlike the most recent disastrous “almost” wedding we all had to endure, that you and I are gonna have a perfect wedding.

Definitely.

Especially for your mother’s sake, after everything she went through.

Yeah. That was quite an ordeal, that “almost” wedding to that miserable cretin.

That now-dead miserable cretin.

Thank God my mom laid a trap for that con man.

Yeah. Thank God.

[sighs] All right. No more talk about that vile SOB and the “almost” wedding. Let’s just focus on our upcoming nuptials.

Whatever you say, my beautiful bride. [gentle music]

Next time you want to visit me, do me a favor–just don’t. [somber music] Fine, Mother. I won’t. I will never visit you again. In fact, I never want to see you again. In fact, you can burn in–

no, you can’t, because you’re still my mother, And as sad as it is, I still want you to love me. I want that so bad.

Hey. You okay? [soft dramatic music]

[gulping] Mm. Oops.

[laughs] Oh, it’s you.

You look like you got some bad news.

It’s my mother.

Is she a patient here?

No, nothing like that. She’s in prison.

Oh. I’m sorry.

I just came from visiting her– to finally tell her that she has been wrong about me my entire life. I’m not a loser. I am lovable.

[sighs] I thought it was going to be this… Cathartic moment, this triumphant vindication. It turns out it was anything but. [soft chuckle] I don’t know why I’m surprised that that woman still has this uncanny knack to make me feel… utterly worthless and miserable.

[moans, winces]

Chanel, are you okay?

[deep breathing] Huh?

Chanel.

Are you okay?

Chanel, baby, what’s wrong?

It’s okay. I’m fine. I– [scream]

Oh! Chanel! Baby, what is it? What? [suspenseful music] [soft orchestration] announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the “Days of Our Lives.”

There is nothing going on with Theresa and me. As a matter of fact, just the other day we– we talked about how we just need to focus on co-parenting Tate.

Well, I assume there was some reason you needed to talk.

Yeah. Uh, there–there was. Something happened.

Something?

[sighs] Yes. Look, we’d been getting closer because of what we’ve had to go through with Tate and, uh, there was um– a moment. We had a moment.

A moment?

Yeah.

That was all?

Yeah. I know it was just a moment. It was only a moment because right after the moment, Theresa said, “I want to be with Alex.” [soft dramatic music]

Mm. And, Brady, look at me. What do you want?

That is a big rock.

It’s beautiful, isn’t it?

Oh, it is. Looks like you spent a huge chunk of Victor’s money on it.

Well, Theresa’s worth it.

Aw.

[soft chuckle] When did all this happen? I mean, the proposal. That’s–

Yeah.

Sorry.

No, no. It’s last night. [phone ringing]

Oh. Oh, that’s my dad. I texted him earlier. I want to tell him the good news, so I’ll be right back, okay?

Okay. [sighs]

So have you told your father?

Actually I did have a bit of a conversation with him right before I popped the question.

I mean Justin.

So should I start licking?

Excuse me?

I was talking about the invitations, obviously– the envelopes, specifically.

Yes, right. [chuckles] No. I’m taking these to my mom’s house because she has the entire family’s addresses in this very old handwritten, very battered book. And Bonnie said that she would help me stuff the envelopes, so–

[snarls]

You get to stay here with our very adorable teeny tiny.

Oh. Well, that would be an honor and a privilege.

She’s very lucky to have such a great dad.

I’m the lucky one. Hey, say hi to your mom for me.

I actually shall.

Oh, did I mention the chat I had with her yesterday?

Mm-mm.

I was just telling her how much I hated Konstantin for everything he did to her and Uncle Vic and Victoria and everything. And, I have to say, her response– it threw me.

What’d she say?

Oh, she was telling me that I was a lot like Victor, and that maybe because he saw so much of himself in me, that’s why he was so hard on me.

Oh, God. I slobbered all over you.

No. It’s okay. Here.

You’re being very nice. Thank you.

Well, I have been told I have an excellent bedside manner.

You’re a doctor.

Is it the stethoscope that gave it away? Mark Greene.

Leo Stark. Wait a minute. Dr. Mark Greene, like on “ER.”

I guess having that name and watching that show made me think there was no choice but to go into medicine.

Oh, boy. So you are all that, and you’re a doctor. I had a doctor boyfriend once. He was much older, and he was married to a woman. TMI. Sorry.

No. It’s okay.

Look, I may have slobbered on you, but I want you to know I was not drooling or anything. I mean, since you told me the other day that you’re not gay.

Did I say that?

Yeah, you did. Why? Is it not true?

Maybe we should get you to a hospital. And I’ll– I’ll call Dr. Greene.

No, no, no. We don’t need to do that. I think it’s just bad– [hisses] Cramps.

Could it be indigestion? Johnny, do you have any of those oyster crackers on you?

Yeah, yeah. They’re in– there in Chanel’s bag.

Oh.

[panting] It’s fine. I–I think it’s fine now.

Oh, no. You just keep these close by just in case. Oh. Oh, I remember when I was pregnant with you. My tummy did all kind of loop-de-loops all day long. When Abe gets back from the pub with the food, you’ll feel better.

Yeah. Yeah. I’m in the mood for a burger.

Mm-hmm. I made sure that he ordered extra pickles. Oh, you don’t even have to wait for those. I have a whole jar in the kitchen.

[screams loudly]

Okay, okay. No. Oh. That’s it. We’re getting you to the hospital. Come on.

Oh.

Come on. Come on. [dramatic music]

Oh, my goodness. Oh.

I don’t think my feelings really matter here.

Brady, your feelings always matter.

Well, look. Theresa–Theresa chose Alex. I accepted it, and I’m moving on, and I’d love to change the subject, actually.

Okay. I’m sorry to bring up a topic that’s uncomfortable for you to talk about.

Oh. I appreciate your concern, I really do. It’s just times out of I– I absolutely value your input, but this particular subject, just not right now.

Understood. All right. Well, I am going to go and talk to the people that pay me the big bucks.

You’re worth every penny.

Thanks. I’m always on your side, you know.

I know you are, and I thank you for that. [intriguing music]

[sighs]

Actually, no. I have not had the chance to tell Justin about my engagement to Theresa.

Why not? You know what? Call him right now.

I–I don’t think that’s news that he wants to hear right now.

Why wouldn’t it be?

Well, Justin and I had a bit of a disagreement about my relationship with Theresa.

Oh. I assume that’s because he knows that you found your fiancée, before she was your fiancée, in bed with Brady.

Right. Yeah. And Justin seems to believe that that actually meant something to Theresa– being with Brady, I mean.

Why? Do you think it didn’t–

Oh, I know it didn’t, Bonnie, because I had the conversation with Theresa. And she only did it to make me jealous.

Oh, honey. Look, this might be the pot calling the kettle black, but when a woman is trying to manipulate a man’s feelings, it means she’s really trying to manipulate a man’s feelings.

Okay. Well, Bonnie, I don’t want to have the same talk with you that I just had with Justin.

Honey, he cares about you. He doesn’t want to see you get hurt.

And that’s very kind, but I’m a big boy now.

And you were once Justin’s little boy. Look, I know he’s not your biological father, but that doesn’t change the fact that he has this big love for you in his heart. He is protective of you, and so am I.

Okay. I don’t need protection from Theresa.

Are you so sure about that? Honey, we both know she doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to relationships. And now, honey, you’re not only super hot, you’re also super rich, so come on. Don’t you think you could do better?

[soft chuckle] Really? [clears throat] [soft tense music]

Baby, I know that you’ve been struggling with the fact that you and Victor weren’t close when he died. You know that, deep down, he did love you.

Way deep down.

No. You did get along. What about when he made you CEO of Titan?

Oh. Only to undermine and replace me with Philip? I mean, I suppose we got along when he needed my help with Kristen’s baby– passing her off as your daughter.

Yeah. You only did that because you couldn’t stand the thought of me losing Mickey. And I know how much you’ve regretted that.

Oh, God. And I still do. It’s unthinkable to me now, trying to replace one child with another. I mean, no one could ever replace our precious girl.

No. No, never. And I thank God that I finally came to my senses and told you that Victoria is yours.

Oh, Sarah. When we were together back then, as happy as I was, I was just so worried the whole time that the other shoe was gonna drop. And as close as I felt to Victor back then, I– part of me knew that he was just using me to do his dirty work. So yeah, maybe he did see a bit of himself in me. That’s why he had me do all the terrible things he didn’t want to admit that he was capable of.

You know that that’s not true.

Then why? [soft dramatic music] Why, when he had his last chance to really show me how he felt…

why didn’t he leave me in his will?

You said you weren’t gay. Maybe you’re bi? Bi-curious? Had a crazy night in college?

Hey. We need help. Dr. Greene.

What’s going on?

[moan] I’m having cramps. [breathing sharply] Really, really bad cramps.

Doctor, you need to help my baby.

I’m going to.

she’s been in a lot of pain, and it seems to come and go, but it feels like it’s getting worse.

Okay. Let’s get you into another room and take a look, okay?

[moans] [screams]

Oh!

Oh. So how is it now?

It’s–it’s still pretty bad, but it comes and goes, like Johnny said.

Miss Price, uh, I need you to step outside for a few minutes.

Wh–what? No. I’m staying– I’m staying right here. I’m not going to leave her here alone.

I am here, Paulina, okay?

Mama, please, please.

Oh. Okay, okay, okay, okay. I’ll be right outside the whole time. You holler if you need me. [soft dramatic music]

[winces, moans]

Let’s see how your baby’s doing, okay?

Okay. Okay. [moans] I have– I was trying to hold it together in front of my mom, ’cause I don’t want to worry her, but– but something is happening to me, Doctor. I’m scared. I’m really, really scared.

Hey, hey. I’m here. I’m here, okay? Everything is gonna be fine, I promise.

[breathing heavily]

Oh, Dr. Evans.

Oh, Leo. Do we have an appointment?

No, not today. And I swear, I didn’t know you were gonna be here. I absolutely respect your ” I can only help you maintain your fragile grip on your sanity during scheduled times” policy.

Leo, it’s all right.

No, it’s not. We have an appointment scheduled tomorrow. I can find a way to white knuckle it until then. [soft dramatic music]

Okay, fine. I’ve got a few minutes before my next patient arrives.

Really? Are you sure?

I’m sure, I’m sure. Let’s do this.

Theresa. I meant to tell you how good you look today.

Oh, really?

Yeah.

Huh. I meant to tell you how embarrassed you look right now. Anyone want to tell me why it’s suddenly okay for Bonnie to trash-talk me behind my back?

Well, it’s nothing I wouldn’t say to your face.

Aw.

Justin has some concerns, that’s all, about you–

About you and me being together, and I just told Bonnie that whatever concerns they may have, I trust you wholeheartedly. And I’m committed to spending the rest of my life with you.

Thank you, Alex.

Of course.

[sighs] But you, Bonnie, I don’t understand the sudden . If I recall, it was just recently you were very supportive of my involvement with Alex.

Well, yeah. That was before I had the discussion of your involvement with him with my husband.

Oh. I see. Great. Okay. So Justin has turned you against me.

No. He’s just protective of his son. I mean, Alex. I–[inhales] You know, on a happier note, wedding bells will be ringing throughout this house for lots of people. In fact, Sarah’s on her way over so I can help her send out her wedding invites.

Oh. That won’t take too long. [soft chuckle] I just meant that it’s probably a really short list since Xander doesn’t really have many friends. [chuckles]

[sarcastic chuckle] Yeah. Well, on his side, it might be a little light, but I’m sure a few of us won’t mind moving over just to fill the void. Besides, I want to rub elbows with the mother of the groom.

What?

Yes. Sarah has her heart set on inviting Xander’s mother to the wedding.

Well, it’s not like you were singled out to be excluded from Victor’s will. He didn’t leave anyone a penny except for my mom and Alex. And he only left Alex something to make up for the fact that he never acknowledged him as a son.

Right. I understand that I’m not the only person my uncle snubbed, but I don’t know. It really was his last chance to show me that I meant something to him, and I– I can’t believe I’m wasting time grieving the love lost to that old fool. [soft dramatic music]

Well, I do hope that Victoria and I can make up for the things that Victor didn’t give you.

That is a wonderful start.

Is it?

Mm.

We’re gonna have to finish this later, though.

I’ll hold you to that.

Yeah. I really do have to go. But before I do, are you sure that you don’t want to take another shot at trying to find your mom?

That number I gave you from my mom– that was the last one I had for her. I told you that. You know, so maybe let’s just take– take this as fate’s way of saying it’s best I don’t find her.

Look, I– I know that you and your mom have had issues, but I– don’t you–

But you’re super-duper eager for her to be at the wedding. I get it. And it’s understandable that– you want Victoria to know her grandmother. [soft dramatic music]

I just– I don’t want you to be saddled with the same regret that you have about Victor and not mending fences before you lost him.

Maybe there is one other way we could reach my mom.

I thought that Xander lost touch with his mother.

Oh, yeah, he did. That’s why Sarah is trying to, you know, get them to get back in touch, mend fences, if you will. That’s why she wants to invite her to the wedding.

Are they sure that’s a good idea? both: Why wouldn’t it be?

I–I don’t know. I just–[chuckles] heard that she’s a raging alcoholic. I mean, do they want someone like that around their kid?

You know, just because someone has a substance abuse problem, they shouldn’t be shunned. Maybe she’s changed, like you.

Mm.

Mm. Of course, yeah. You’re right. But, you know, I’m kind of concerned for Sarah. You know, what if this woman just shows up and causes a huge scene?

[laugh] Oh, honey. We’re kind of used to scenes around here, especially at weddings, right?

Mm.

Right.

[chuckles]

Theresa, you seem awfully concerned about Xander’s mom showing up in Salem. Something you want to tell us?

[crying] So I went to see my monster of a mother this morning.

You went to the prison?

Isn’t that what you told me to do, so I can quiet her nasty voice that’s been echoing in my head all these years?

Yes, but I meant that would be something that we would work on here in therapy.

Oh. I thought it would be wise to go and do it in person, you know, face to face.

Oh. I guess I didn’t go too well, huh?

No, it didn’t go well. It was a disaster, a calamity, a catastrophe, and a dumpster fire all rolled up into one.

What did she say?

She brought out all her greatest hits. Said I was worthless, unlovable, a degenerate… And that I deserved all of the misery that had befallen me. Befallen, is that a word?

That’s a word. That must have been so hard for you to hear.

[sighs] [somber music] I should have expected it, but still, under the heading of “hope springs eternal,” I guess I hoped that she would take me into her arms and tell me that she had a major epiphany, and that I was the greatest gift God had ever given her. Though, she is a shameless heathen. She never would have invoked God.

You know, just because your mother said those things does not mean they’re true.

Then why does it feel that way when she says them?

Leo. [gentle acoustic music] As children, we depend on our parents just to thrive. If they tell us things, then we believe it, because contradicting anything would– I don’t know–would just jeopardize our own existence. You’re no longer a child. You’re no longer dependent on your mother, so there’s no reason to give her the power over you.

Right. No reason.

Right. You can do anything you like. You can be yourself, you can be proud of yourself, you can even love yourself.

[sighs] Yeah. I’m not a little boy who needs his nose wiped anymore. I can wipe my own nose. I am my own man. [chuckles] And that hunky doctor seemed to think I was worth talking to.

What hunky doctor is that?

[breathing shakily]

I’m just gonna do a quick ultrasound, see if we can figure out what’s going on.

Okay.

Here. [monitor beeping] Felicity’s stuffie.

Yeah. Hey. Everything is gonna be okay, all right? My love, Dr. Greene is taking good care of you and of our little one too.

Okay. [suspenseful music]

Dr. Greene?

I’m very sorry, Chanel. I’m afraid you’ve had a miscarriage.

[gasps]

[gasps] Wait. A miscarriage?

I– I don’t understand. We were just here. You said everything was fine.

Everything did look fine, but that changed, obviously.

So those soft markers that you were telling us about, is that what caused this?

A spontaneous loss like this can happen for any number of reasons, and it’s not unusual. I’m sure this is cold comfort right now, but in pregnancies ends in miscarriage. [somber music]

I’m gonna send a– I’m gonna send a specialist in to examine you, see if I can get you any more answers. Again, Chanel, Johnny, I’m so sorry for your loss.

[sobbing]

So I met this totally gorgeous doctor the other day. But at the time I didn’t know he was a doctor, just this handsome guy out for a run, and he was thirsty. And I happened to have a glass of water to give to him. And it looks like what goes around comes around, because today he found me at the nurse’s station a complete wreck. He took me into his muscular arms, and he comforted me. And he gave me this. Who said chivalry is dead?

Leo, you just met this man.

Oh, Dr. Evans, don’t worry. I’m not getting my hopes up for a romance or anything like that. He told me he wasn’t gay.

I see.

But then he acted surprised when I reminded him that he said that. Do you think maybe he is gay?

Well, I don’t know.

Well, maybe you know him, and maybe you’ve gotten something of a vibe from him–Dr. Mark Greene?

Mark Greene? I’ve heard the name, but I don’t think that I’ve met him.

Maybe you’ve heard some chat about him over at the water cooler?

Well, if there were any chat at the water cooler…

Mm-hmm?

I wouldn’t repeat it–

No.

Nor would I speculate about it.

Okay. Fine. Well, whether he’s gay or not, he and I had a moment, a lovely moment. [chuckles]

I’m so glad to hear that for you, but you don’t know anything about this man, no information at all about him. So I–I think you shouldn’t read too much into this. Leo.

Hmm.

I wouldn’t like to see you get hurt.

Thank you. Unlike my mother, who lives to see me hurt. In fact, I feel like that’s been her goal since I was born, and I will bet she is in her cell right now, gloating over how bad she made me feel this morning.

Why don’t we talk about that during our next session?

Oh, no. Are we out of time?

I’m afraid we are.

All right. So tomorrow, I guess, we can figure out why it is I want love from my horrible mother, who referred to me as a miserable dead loss. She actually called me that.

Leo, you are a very worthwhile human being. I’m especially impressed with your desire to get to know yourself, understand your history, and come to terms with the, well, emotionally abusive mother you had– and your father, from what you told me.

Yes, both of them. Okay. So tomorrow, we will work on getting me to embrace the fact that I am a worthwhile person, as you say.

Yes, we will do that.

Great. Then I will see you tomorrow for our actual session.

I will see you tomorrow. [gentle music]

I’m not so much concerned about Xander’s mother, per se. But look. After what happened here with Konstantin, I think we all need to be a little bit wary about just inviting long-lost family and friends to come over out of the blue.

Okay, I get it. Yeah. But you’re not gonna have to worry about Xander’s mother showing up. The number he had for her wasn’t hers anymore. They just don’t know even how to track her down.

Mm.

Oh. [clicks tongue] That’s too bad.

Mm. Well, at least you don’t have to worry about any surprise guests showing up at our wedding. I’ve already found all my long-lost relatives.

[chuckles]

Yeah. Let’s hope that’s true.

It is true for sure. Anyway, I have to get to work.

Okay.

Bye.

Bye.

Bye, Bonnie.

Oh. Bye, honey.

Bye.

[chuckles] [tense music]

[sighs] God.

Got it. Hey. You can expect that invitation in the mail. [chuckles, sighs] That long shot paid off.

Who was that?

My mom’s sister, Aunt Maisie. They never got along, so I just didn’t think my mom would be in contact with her.

But she was?

Apparently. Yeah. My mom hit her up for money a few months ago.

Are you kidding?

No. But she didn’t have my mom’s phone number, but she did have her address.

[gasps] [soft dramatic music]

[sighs] [tense music]

[breathing heavily]

Brady.

Hey.

Hey. Man, I’m sorry to hear about last night.

What happened last night?

Uh, the prom?

The prom. Yeah, yeah. I’m sure Theresa told you that we found Tate and Holly in a hotel room–

Mm.

And then Theresa dragged Holly out of said a hotel room. It was–it was lots of fun.

Mm. Especially for the kids, I’m sure.

I’m actually surprised Theresa didn’t call me and let me know what EJ and Nicole’s reaction was to the whole thing.

Well, she was kind of busy last night, partly my fault.

Why is that your fault?

I proposed. [solemn guitar music] Theresa and I are engaged.

Bonnie, thank you so much for offering to help.

Oh, honey.

Addressing these invites is gonna be a lot easier with both of us doing it.

I am so happy to assist, and your mom already gave me her address book.

Okay. Well, we just have to add one more address to it.

Okay. Whose would that be?

Xander’s mom.

[sighs] Ooh! – I know. We managed to track her down after all.

Oh. [chuckles]

I’m very excited. [laughter]

It’s exciting. Okay. Let’s see.

Hey, little one. Did you hear all that? Apparently there’s a chance now that you’re gonna meet your Grandma Cook. Oh, look at that big smile. You’re excited about it, huh? [soft tense music] I’m afraid that makes one of us.

Part of being a doctor, I know, delivering bad news, but to tell these two that they lost their baby, and so soon after I told them everything was fine. You always know the right thing to say. Same here. See you tonight. [phone beeps]

[clears throat]

Oh. Hey, Leo.

Dr. Greene, I was hoping I’d run into you so I could return your hankie.

Forget it. Keep it.

Thanks. I’m sorry to hear you had to deliver bad news. So was that a friend on the phone? A significant other? I’m sorry. That’s none of my business.

No. It’s okay. It was my girlfriend, actually.

Girlfriend, right, of course. [melancholic music]

I better get going. Excuse me.

Okay.

[sighs] Well, that answers that.

[sobbing]

Oh. Dr. Greene said I could come back in. Well, what happened? [dramatic music]

We lost the baby.

What?

[sobbing]

Oh, no. Oh, my God. Oh, oh. How–how did that happen?

It happened because of what you did. This is all your fault.

Ridge: So, zende got delayed. He’ll be here shortly, he says.

Brooke: Okay. If you change your mind and you want somebody else to do this, just let me…

Ridge: What are you doing? We talked about this.

Brooke: Well, it’s just…

Ridge: It’s just what? You’re gonna blow them away the same way you blew ’em away when you first did this campaign.

Brooke: You do wonders for my ego, mr. Forrester.

Ridge: I have every confidence in you.

Brooke: Mwah.

Hope: Oh, my gosh. Is that the…

Ridge: The original bed from the original campaign? No, it’s not, but it’s very close.

Steffy: Yeah, we retired the original one. Too many miles on it.

Poppy: Are you sure you have to go?

Bill: Mm. [Chuckles] When you kiss me like that, I’m not sure of anything.

Poppy: You know, we could just crawl back into bed and…

Bill: Yeah?

Poppy: …Pick up where we left off last night.

Bill: That’s very tempting.

Poppy: I just want to be close to you, bill. Especially after…

Bill: After what?

Poppy: After katie coming over here and drilling me, asking question after question, saying how determined she is to get answers. I know you two were married and you share a child, but… it was really unnerving.

Bill: You have to trust me. In my case, probably well deserved. But I have been on the receiving end of katie’s third degrees. I understand that you’re feeling a bit unnerved. Listen to me. You have nothing to worry about with my ex-wife. Katie’s harmless.

Katie: Wow. No wonder bill was at that festival. It’s one breakout act after another. And some new bands, too.

[Gasps] Oh, my gosh. He was there. Tom starr was playing at the festival.

Hope: Well, I’m so excited for you, mom. It has been too long.

Ridge: I agree. And so do all her fans all around the world. They’ve been clamoring for something like this for a long time.

Steffy: Brooke and her infamous red teddy sprawled out on that infamous brass bed.

Brooke: Hmm. My sprawling days are over, steffy. But I do still have that red teddy. You could even ask your father.

[Phone chimes]

Ridge: Trust me, she has it. Okay, zende’s gonna be here very soon. You’re gonna rock this photo shoot.

Brooke: Thanks, honey.

Ridge: Uh-huh.

Brooke: Your father has a lot of faith in me.

Hope: Well, we all do. You’re going to be fabulous, mom. Won’t she, steffy?

[Bill whistles]

Bill: Jam-packed today. Think you can squeeze me in?

Deacon: Oh, they just keep on coming, don’t they? What do you want, spencer?

Bill: Health department hasn’t shut you down yet? I mean, rats are one thing. You got a couple of dead bodies in here and you’re still open?

Deacon: For your information, the authorities and the health department have checked us out and il giardino is clean.

Bill: Well, clearly, word hasn’t gotten out yet.

Deacon: Well, when it does, we’ll be back up and running, but it’s not gonna be the same.

Bill: I imagine not. You got two employees that croaked in here.

Deacon: They were more than that. They were my friends.

Bill: Well, I hate to say it, but being your friend seems to be hazardous to one’s health. I mean, you got two mysterious deaths in here from drug overdoses just a few days apart. Cops come up with anything yet?

Deacon: All I get from them is “the investigation is ongoing.”

Bill: So nothing.

Deacon: I just keep going over in my head. What if it wasn’t really an overdose?

Bill: The toxicology reports came back, right?

Deacon: Yeah. No, it did. It confirmed that they both od’D. But what it didn’t say is how it happened or why it happened. It doesn’t even say if tom and hollis realized it. What if they were targeted? You know, what if somebody actually specifically wanted to kill tom and hollis, but they made it look like an overdose, when in reality, it was a murder? I mean, if that’s how it went down, bill, that means somebody else is still out there, and they may be ready to strike again.

[Birds chirping]

Katie: Hello, poppy.

[Poppy gasps]

Poppy: Katie. What are you doing here?

Katie: Oh. You’re not happy to see me?

Poppy: After last time? The things you said?

Katie: Well, I had questions, and you weren’t very forthcoming, so I didn’t have any choice.

Poppy: Well, what is that supposed to mean?

Katie: I said I was gonna learn everything about you, and it turns out I have learned something absolutely fascinating. You see, I did a little research on that music festival where you and bill met, that fateful night that brought the two of you, um, together. And as it happens, there was someone else at that festival. Someone on the stage. Tom starr. This powerful im

Hope: Well, it’s no secret

Hope: Well, it’s no secret that you’re not exactly thrilled about my mom being front and center again.

Steffy: I just don’t think we should be going down this road again.

Ridge: Okay, let’s take it easy, you guys, please.

Hope: No, ridge, it’s fine. I’m just curious as to why steffy feels this way.

Steffy: Brooke has been in the spotlight for years as the face of brooke’s bedroom line.

Hope: Very successful years.

Steffy: Absolutely. That’s true. But I–

Brooke: Okay, but… I am older now. Maybe I shouldn’t try to recreate this magic.

Ridge: Don’t do this. You look as amazing as ever.

Hope: I agree.

Ridge: Which is exactly why you’re gonna make this powerful impact on women of all ages all over the world.

Hope: And that’s why it is so important, not just for brooke’s bedroom, but to also show that true beauty doesn’t fade with age.

Ridge: Right. And anyone can see that.

Brooke: Oh, thank you for the vote of confidence.

Finn: Hey. Pam said you’d be backstage.

Steffy: Oh, finn, you have no idea how glad I am to see you.

Bill: Well, you’ve got a lot on your plate, deacon. No pun intended.

Deacon: Tell me about it. The restaurant’s in the skids. I gotta do something, something to bring the customers back, let them know that it’s safe to be here. But the truth of it is, I just don’t have it in me right now. All I can think about is the senseless way that tom and hollis died.

[Phone dinging] I gotta take this. Excuse me.

Justin: Dollar bill. Just the man I was looking for.

Bill: Well, we gotta stop meeting like this or people are gonna talk.

Justin: Yeah. Yeah. So, did you get the tickets I sent over? Astros. Dodgers. In houston. All accommodations taken care of. Now the box just may happen to be next to howard, who just may be wanting to put his stations back online unless there is a media titan who, in my opinion, can structure m&a’s better than anyone else and can strike a deal while taking in the old ball game.

[Both chuckle]

Bill: Listen, justin, I– I’m just really glad that we were able to work through our issues.

Justin: Yeah.

Bill: All right? And we made the impossible possible. It’s good to have you back with us.

Justin: We did. Good to be back. Good to be back, man.

Deacon: Justin.

Justin: Hey.

Deacon: What are you doing here?

Bill: Oh, we’re just, uh, talking–talking some ball here. I was just talking to deacon about these mysterious deaths that have taken place right here in il giardino.

Deacon: You were here that night. I saw you.

Justin: Yeah. Um… so, how are you holding up?

Deacon: Well, I’m just trying to get to the bottom of this whole thing. By the way, did I mention to you that I, uh–I checked the security cameras from before. There was a power outage the night that hollis died.

Bill: You think that’s significant?

Deacon: Maybe. Maybe not. Could just be a coincidence.

Bill: Well, if you’re thinking foul play was involved, I would suggest you look no further than your wifey.

Deacon: Police took sheila in for questioning. They released her. My bride had nothing to do with it, but somebody could have. The question is who.

Katie: Tom starr performed that night at the music festival. Well, he also recently overdosed at il giardino, a restaurant that you and bill frequent often.

Poppy: Well, what are you getting at?

Katie: Well, I just think it’s awfully coincidental, don’t you? I mean, the same guy that performed before you and bill at a music festival in san francisco also performed at il giardino.

Poppy: I guess so. And, yeah, now that you mentioned it, I do recall that tom starr did perform at that festival. But, um, why are you bringing it up?

Katie: Well, that was the same night where you claim luna was conceived.

Poppy: I’m not claiming it, katie. It’s the truth.

Katie: And bill’s the father. That’s your story and you’re sticking to it? Force factor total beets is the number one

Steffy: Yeah, you. Oh, my gosh. My favo

Finn: For you.

Steffy: Thank you. Oh, my gosh. My favorite latte. You are the sweetest.

Finn: Well, I figured you could use a little pick-me-up. You said it might be a long day for you.

Steffy: Yeah, it’s been a long day. I needed this.

Finn: I got you.

Bill: Oh, deacon, my man, you must be an awfully trusting guy.

Deacon: She was my wife. Of course I trust her.

[Bill chuckles]

Justin: I’m not sure how smart that is, considering her track record.

Deacon: Well, she’s not the same woman anymore.

[Bill laughs]

Bill: Okay, if you say so.

Deacon: Listen. I know that you both hate sheila’s guts, but don’t come into my restaurant and badmouth my wife, okay? I don’t do that to you. I don’t show contempt for the new woman in your life.

Bill: Are you referring to poppy?

Deacon: Let me ask you something. How would you feel if I started taking potshots at her, talking about her past and trashing it?

[Bill laughs]

Bill: Wait a second. Is this clown trying to compare poppy to sheila carter? Are you? ‘Cause if so, you must have spent just way too much time pounding out those license plates in prison and it somehow diminished your mental capacity.

Justin: Come on, deacon. Those two women are polar opposites in every way.

Deacon: Look, if poppy makes you happy, bill, that’s terrific. Just don’t come in here talking about the woman who makes me happy.

Justin: Okay. We’re gonna change the subject.

Bill: No, no, no, no, no, no. Not so fast. I wanna make something crystal clear for the convict, all right? You’re right. Poppy does make me happy. And she has given me a beautiful daughter that I am thrilled with. And having both of those women in my life makes me a very lucky man.

Deacon: Just like I’m a lucky man to have sheila in mine.

Bill: Well, there’s one big difference, though. You hooked up with a known murderer. I didn’T.

Poppy: I don’t appreciate what you’re implying, katie.

Katie: I’m just asking some questions, just looking for some answers. I’m trying so hard to understand why you waited 20 years to do a paternity test. It doesn’t make any sense.

Poppy: Okay, well, not that it’s any of your business, but bill never reached out after that night and I was hurt.

Katie: But you did know his history. Spencer publications. The fact that he was rich and powerful.

Poppy: No, I did not. Because despite what my sister li loves to tell everyone, I am not now nor have I ever been a gold digger. So, yeah, it took me a long time to build up the nerve to do a paternity test.

Katie: And to let the world know that luna is bill’s daughter.

Poppy: It’s true, katie.

Katie: A daughter who was conceived on the same night that tom starr was performing. Tom starr, who worked at il giardino and mysteriously died of a drug overdose.

Poppy: What are you getting at?

Katie: I just want to know if you and tom starr had a relationship. Was he your lover?

Ridge: Look at me.

[Brooke sighs] You’re gonna prove to women all over the world that beauty is timeless. You’re not getting older. You’re just getting better. Look at you. You look as great as you did 20 years ago. No, you don’T. You don’T. You look better than you did 20 years ago.

Brooke: Ridge.

Ridge: That gorgeous smile and that twinkle in your eye and the way you–you have that zest for adventure. You love life. And you’re mine. You’re my logan. I love you.

[Steffy sighs]

Finn: What’S…

Steffy: In case you haven’t guessed, I’m not too excited that this shoot is featuring brooke.

Finn: Yeah, I kind of picked up on that.

Steffy: You know who’s excited about it? Hope. She’s loving every minute that her mother’s in the spotlight.

Hope: I find you attractive. And I would be lying if I said I didn’t think about you and what it would be like to be with you.

Ridge: I gave your mom a final pep talk, and I think I got through to her.

Brooke: He’s relentless.

Hope: Oh, well, that’s because he knows what I know, which is that you are going to be awesome. Seriously, mom, you’re going to rock this. And I am so, so proud of you.

[Brooke laughs]

Brooke: Oh! Thank you, sweetie.

Deacon: I think I got a pretty good idea about how you two feel about sheila, but she had nothing to do with what happened to tom and hollis. And if she did, she’d be behind bars right now. But if there is more to this…

Justin: And what do you mean, more?

Deacon: Murder, justin. Cold-blooded, premeditated murder.

Poppy: All right, well, I don’t know what you’re trying to insinuate, katie, but, you know, this is…

Katie: I’m just pointing out some coincidental facts. The same night, an epic night that happened all those years ago that you’ve never been able to forget. That night that luna was conceived, tom starr just happened to be performing. Tom starr, who mysteriously overdosed at il giardino, a restaurant that you and bill go to quite often. I mean, did you know that tom worked there? Did you ever see him?

Tom: Luna needs to know who her real dad is.

Poppy: She does know her real dad–bill spencer.

Tom: No, that’s a lie. You trapped that poor sucker. And worse, you’re lying to our daughter.

Poppy: For the last time, she is not your daughter. The paternity test proved it.

Tom: Bull, poppy. Listen, I’ve kept my distance, but it’s time for luna to know the truth.

Katie: You seem really uneasy with this questioning about tom. Why is that, poppy?

Poppy: This is just the most absurd line of questioning I have ever heard. What are you trying to do, link me to that poor man’s death?

Katie: Well, I wasn’t gonna say anything, but since you brought it up. His overdose. Did you have anything to do with it? Are you a liar? A gold digger? Are you a murderer?

Poppy: All right, just stop it, okay? Just stop it. Stop with these absurd accusations.

Katie: Or you’ll do what? Huh? You’ll do what?

Here’s a look at what’s ahead.

Man: Have you checked your pockets?

Steffy: Where’s my passport?

Brooke: Monaco, here we come.

Katie: It doesn’t make sense. I don’t trust her.

Bill: What are you talking about?

Poppy: Tom was claiming to be luna’s father.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Holly joins Tate at the Horton Cabin on Smith Island and they kiss. They talk about missing each other as Tate shows her that he made her lunch and got her flowers. Tate asks about her trip over. Holly says that Nicole took Jude to work and then she took the ferry to the island and that no one knows she’s there. Holly then gets a call from Nicole.

EJ is on the phone at the DiMera Mansion, saying he told them that he’s working from home and he needs the case files delivered immediately. EJ hangs up as Eric then storms in and demands that EJ sign his divorce papers.

Alex sits in the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion, looking up at the portrait of Victor. Sarah comes in and asks how he’s doing. Alex asks how she thinks as he just found out his whole life was a lie, again.

Theresa goes to the airport and hears the plane will begin boarding in five minutes. Theresa turns around and runs in to Xander, who asks if she’s going somewhere.

Brady wakes up in a room at the Salem Inn to see Fiona, who tells him that they had quite the night last night. Brady says he’s sorry as he was pretty drunk last night. Fiona says she was too as they had several martinis and Brady was drinking even before she came to his table. Brady guesses that explains why he doesn’t recall coming back to the Salem Inn. Fiona explains that it’s her room and Brady said he didn’t want to go home in his condition which Brady calls his one good decision. Brady then asks Fiona if they slept together. Fiona responds that they certainly did.

Theresa questions how Xander found her. Xander knew she would try to skulk out of town after what she did and questions where she’s going. Theresa asks what he wants. Xander wants answers. Theresa says she said everything she had to say at the wedding. Xander says it wasn’t enough as he wants to know why she changed the name in the letter to deny him his birthright. Xander asks if she really hates him that much. Theresa says she does and then some.

Tate suggests Holly ignore the call but Holly says she tried but Nicole was calling the entire time she was on the ferry so she might get paranoid and try to come find her. Holly then answers the call. Nicole asks where she is as she’s been trying to reach her for an hour. Holly claims she’s working a lunch shift at the Bistro. Nicole thought she was working dinners but Holly says she’s covering for someone. Nicole says she’s sorry to bother her at work. Holly asks if something is up. Nicole says she needs to see her after work. Holly asks if everything is good. Nicole declares that they need to find a new place to leave ASAP because she doesn’t want to be anywhere near EJ.

EJ mocks Eric working as Nicole’s courier. Eric asks if he’s going to sign the divorce papers or not. EJ asks what he’s so angry about. Eric says about a million things, starting with EJ stealing his son. EJ remarks that Eric brought the boy over himself and said that he was his. Eric argues that’s what Sloan said but EJ knew that was a lie because he helped her get away with it. EJ argues that Sloan is fully capable of making her own decisions, even bad ones like marrying Eric. Eric yells at him to shut up and talks about EJ accepting Jude when he brought him over, knowing that he was suffering. Eric declares that now EJ is the one who is going to suffer.

Alex pours a drink as Sarah asks what the worst part is. Alex calls that an excellent question since there’s so many good choices. Alex talks about feeling stupid for not realizing that Theresa had been lying to him this entire time or the fact that he treated Justin the way that he did. Alex guesses the worst might be just not being who he thought he was. Sarah remembers how confusing for him when he thought Victor was his dad. Alex says putting aside the money and the CEO position, it was thinking that Victor lied to him for his entire life. Alex talks about trying to embrace his new identity to honor Victor’s legacy but it turned out none of that was true either, so suddenly his entire life is turned upside down again. Sarah knows he doesn’t care but says that Xander is feeling the same way.

Xander questions if Theresa’s answer is that she hated him so much. Theresa admits that’s not the only reason she did it. Xander argues that it always has to be about her since she saw the opportunity to steal from him, give it to Alex, and she could still enjoy the spoils. Xander says Theresa made Alex the heir and then her husband and the truth may never have come out if Bonnie didn’t mail the invitation to Fiona. Theresa cries that it did come out and now it’s all come crashing down. Xander then hears on the intercom that Theresa’s plane is leaving for New York. Theresa asks if they are done since she really needs to go. Xander asks if Alex is annulled the marriage or if she even cares since his net worth has dropped so significantly. Xander hopes she doesn’t think she will get away with this, pointing out that Konstantin is dead so she’s the only one left to take the fall. Xander then realizes that Konstantin was her accomplice but she was his too when she kidnapped his baby.

Brady asks Fiona again if they slept together. Fiona clarifies that they shared the bed but that’s all. Fiona says she had a very good time with him at the Pub and has no complaints. Brady wishes it wasn’t such a blur and points out that he doesn’t even know her last name. Fiona then reveals it’s Cook. Brady hopes that’s no relation to Xander. Fiona informs Brady that Xander is her son, causing Brady to spit out his water in shock.

Nicole mentions going to check out an apartment. Holly asks Nicole if she can’t just go by herself. Nicole responds that she can but Holly is going to be living there too, so she wants her to have a say in it. Nicole says she’s asking her for help starting a new life together and asks her not to argue with her on this. Holly tells her that she’s working a double today. Nicole apologizes and says she’s just really stressed out as she’s trying to make a clean break from EJ but he’s refusing to sign the divorce papers. Holly admits she didn’t know that. Nicole adds that things at work are crazy, so it’s something she really wants them to do together as she kind of needs it right now. Holly then agrees to meet her between shifts so they can look at a few places together. Nicole says that’s great and agrees to pick her up as soon as she finishes at work. Holly hangs up and tells Tate that she has to go meet Nicole to look at a few apartments, but she doesn’t have to go until before her actual dinner shift covering for Sophia. Tate says he’s sorry about that since it was the only way to stop Sophia from telling on them. Holly calls it a small price to pay for them to be together as they kiss.

EJ tells Eric that Sloan is the one who started all of this and asks why he doesn’t take it up with her. Eric says that’s because EJ helped her get away with it. EJ thinks he’s mistaken. Eric brings up when Sloan came over and begged Nicole to forgive her. EJ says he remembers Sloan attacking him. Eric argues that Sloan is half his size but still managed to get away. EJ argues that she had the element of surprise. Eric tells him to save it for the police because he’s going to prison. EJ responds that he’s the district attorney, so he’d like to point out that you generally need proof to charge someone with a crime and he has none. Eric says not yet, but he will get locked up and pay for what he did. EJ says he’d like to see him try. Eric tells EJ to be a real man and sign the divorce papers. EJ says no. Eric asks why not and if he thinks Nicole is actually going to forgive him. Eric tells EJ that Nicole is never going to come back to him. EJ says perhaps, but she’s never getting away from either. EJ then tears the divorce papers up. Eric asks if he really thinks he can stop a divorce by tearing up a copy. EJ says maybe not but he can certainly delay it. Eric asks why he’d want to. EJ says it would make their lives Hell and it’s already working. Eric calls him a piece of garbage. EJ warns Eric not to antagonize him or he might prosecute Marlena for assault after she came over and slapped him. Eric says that’s the least of what he deserves. EJ remarks that they’ll see when Marlena is sitting in a jail cell. Eric argues that no judge will send Marlena to jail for slapping him. EJ responds that he was just using that as an example because he can hurt Eric in all sorts of ways which Eric questions. EJ then says he’s curious if Holly knows that Eric killed her father.

Holly and Tate have lunch together in the Horton Cabin and talk about the freedom of not having to worry about someone bursting in on them. Tate talks about Aaron agreeing to pretend to be him at lacrosse camp and Sophia keeping her mouth shut, they should have at least a month together. Holly asks if he’s not worried about his mom figuring out he’s not at camp. Tate says he’s not because he thinks Theresa is married to Alex now and rich, so she’s probably off on some insane honeymoon somewhere…

Alex tells Sarah that she’s right that he doesn’t care what Xander is feeling because he’s about to get everything he ever wanted, so he questions what Xander has to be upset about. Sarah argues that Alex just talked about his life being turned upside down and feels for Xander, it’s worse which Alex questions. Sarah complains that Alex knows Victor always treated Xander like the hired help or an embarrassment to the Kiriakis name, unworthy and unwanted. Alex remarks that maybe that’s because it’s true. Sarah responds that he sounds a lot like Theresa.

Theresa tells Alex that it’s insane and asks why she would take his child. Xander argues that she was helping her partner in crime get back in Maggie’s good graces. Theresa calls that a tremendous story but untrue. Xander says she’s slipping as her lies are not believable anymore. Xander remarks that it’s a good thing his mom showed up to expose her as the fraud she is.

Brady questions Fiona being Xander’s mother and can’t believe he slept in the same bed with her. Brady tells Fiona that he and her son have history and he thought she was out of the picture. Fiona explains they were out of touch but out of the blue, she was invited to his wedding. Brady questions if she was there. Fiona says she showed up late while Brady says he was there, but left early. Fiona tells Brady that he missed quite the show since thanks to her, Xander found out he had been tricked out of his birthright which Brady questions. Fiona asks if Brady knows who Victor Kiriakis was. Brady informs her that Victor was his grandfather. Fiona supposes the secret is out now and reveals that Xander is Victor’s long lost son which Brady questions. Fiona says it’s true and that Victor left half of everything in his estate to Xander. Brady tells her that was Alex and how it was revealed in a letter written by Anjelica. Fiona says it turned out that Anjelica didn’t write that letter, she did. Brady asks what the hell she’s talking about. Fiona explains that she’s the one who had an affair with Victor resulting in a child and someone tampered with her signature in the letter. Brady asks who would do that. Fiona says apparently Alex’s bride which shocks Brady.

Theresa tells Xander that she’s done with this conversation. Xander brings up Konstantin going on and on about how he was still in the dark about something and he was about to reveal who his accomplice was but Theresa elbowed him in the gut. Xander adds that Konstantin used his last breath to say there was still an enemy in their midst. Theresa claims that was because Konstantin knew she forged the letter and that it had nothing to do with the kidnapping. Xander grabs her by the arm and declares he’s taking her to the police station.

Alex tells Sarah that a pen is all it took to change one name to another and all of their lives are never the same. Sarah tells Alex that she’s really sorry as he didn’t deserve that. Alex says it’s not her fault, but thanks her and admits it’s not Xander’s fault either. Alex says if anything, he should be thanking them for inviting Xander’s mother to the wedding because if she never showed up, they may have never known the truth.

Fiona tells Brady that Theresa forged the letter, depriving Xander of his rightful inheritance. Brady questions what she was thinking. Fiona says it seems there was bad blood between them and that Theresa wanted Alex to be the heir. Brady says he suspected that Theresa went through the briefcase but he just assumed that she read the letter and found out that Alex was the heir. Fiona states that she made him the heir and then questions how Brady knows Theresa. Brady then reveals that she is his ex-wife and the mother of his son. Fiona calls it a small world. Brady welcomes her to Salem and says he has to get going. Fiona says it was nice spending time with him. Brady wishes he could say the same but he doesn’t remember. Fiona asks him not to say anything about this since she’s not supposed to be drinking. Brady says he’s not either and agrees not to say anything. Fiona suggests maybe they can do this again sometime. Brady says maybe as he gathers his things and exits.

Theresa tells Xander to get his hands off of her and threatens to scream for security to come take him down. Xander lets her go. Theresa tells him that he can think whatever he wants of her but claims she had nothing to do with the kidnapping. Xander warns that she’s not going to get away with this. Theresa compares it to Xander kidnapping Bonnie and Susan. Xander responds that he’s admitted to all of his crimes, but it’s good that she knows how dangerous he can be and that was before he had unlimited resources. Xander tells her that she can get on the plane and fly to the ends of the Earth, but no matter where she runs, she can’t hide from him. Xander then storms off.

EJ knows how much Holly cares about Eric and she’s aware that a drunk driver killed her father, but he wonders how she will feel when she finds out that drunk driver was Eric. Eric questions if he really wants to do that to her. EJ says no, but he does want to do it to Eric. Eric asks even if that means ruining her relationship with her mother because they know she would blame Nicole for keeping that from her. EJ questions why that’s his problem. Eric says as much as EJ hates him or even Nicole, Holly has never done a thing to him. EJ responds that he’s not the one who killed her father. Eric asks if he really wants to cause Holly that much more pain after all she’s been through. EJ then agrees not to tell Holly that Eric is a drunken murderer and that he will instead focus on tormenting him and Nicole by tying Nicole up in court for years and make Eric testify to the fact that Nicole cheated on him with Eric. Eric argues that they were drugged. EJ asks about the night Eric kissed her after gallantly bringing her home from the bar. Eric declares he’s done with him. EJ stops him to warn him that he’s still married to Sloan, which Eric questions. EJ claims he forgot to file his divorce papers as it just slipped his mind. Eric tells EJ to enjoy his pathetic, lonely life. EJ responds that he’ll send him his bill as Eric storms out of the mansion.

Holly asks Tate if Theresa is a billionaire now. Tate says she’s married to one which Holly calls basically the same thing. Tate says he never thought about it that way and compares it to Nicole marrying EJ. Holly says even if that were the case, she doubts Nicole would think it’s worth it. Tate asks about Holly getting along with EJ. Holly says she did before he lied to them about Jude and now Nicole is leaving him but EJ is refusing to divorce her. Tate questions if you can do that and calls it kind of shady. Holly asks if Tate likes Alex. Tate says he seems like a good guy and thinks Theresa even loves him. Holly comments that he’s definitely hot for an older guy. Holly says maybe if Theresa gets her happily ever after, she will stop trying to ruin theirs. Tate promises that she won’t be ruining anything today as they kiss until Holly says she has to go so she can get to the Bistro before Nicole does. Tate asks for a few more minutes as they continue kissing. Holly worries that if she doesn’t go now, she’ll never leave. Holly then agrees to stay for five more minutes as they continue kissing.

Eric goes to the Spectator office and tells Nicole how much it brightens his day to see her and Jude. Nicole asks if he had a rough day. Eric informs her that he went to see EJ. Nicole questions why. Eric says he tried to talk him in to signing the divorce papers but he has no shame and tore them up. Eric adds that EJ said he was going to make their lives a living Hell and then threatened to go after Marlena for slapping him and that he was going to tell Holly that he was the driver that killed Daniel but he talked him out of that, so EJ said he would drag out the divorce for years. Nicole tells Eric that she’s so sorry. Eric says it’s not her fault. Eric adds that EJ also informed him that he and Sloan are still married because he forgot to file the divorce papers. Nicole calls EJ a son of a bitch and asks what they do now. Eric asks what if they left Salem, suggesting he could still take the job in Paris so they could get far away from EJ and start a new life with Holly and Jude. Eric asks what she thinks.

Xander goes to the DiMera Mansion and asks EJ about being district attorney. EJ points out that this is not his office but Xander says this can’t wait. Xander wants Theresa charged with kidnapping his daughter and declares that she needs to be locked up for what she did to him and Sarah.

Sarah goes to Fiona’s hotel room which Fiona calls a surprise. Sarah calls the last 24 hours one big surprise. Fiona agrees and asks if she can help her with something. Sarah says she just wanted to come talk to her about everything. Fiona asks if she’s angry with her, mentioning that Xander is ignoring her calls. Sarah says that Xander is pretty overwhelmed with everything, but she comes with an invitation which Fiona questions. Sarah explains that they still plan to get married once everything settles down and it will just be something small at the Kiriakis Mansion, so they’d love it if she was there. Fiona is not sure that’s a good idea.

Brady goes to the Kiriakis Mansion where Alex is sitting in the living room, facing the portrait of Victor. Brady tells Alex that he heard the news. Alex thought he was at the wedding. Brady says he left early which Alex calls the right decision. Brady says it’s crazy and shocking as he can’t believe Theresa did this to him. Alex tells him to join the club. Brady asks where she is. Alex responds that Theresa packed up her stuff and left.

Theresa paces at the airport as the final call is made to board the plane to New York.

Sarah knows Xander was really harsh with Fiona but she thinks once Xander absorbs everything and calms down, he will want her at the wedding. Fiona clarifies that’s not what she meant by it being a bad idea so Sarah asks what she meant. Fiona says it’s not that she’s unsure that her son wants her at his wedding, but she’s not so sure that Xander should be getting married at all.

EJ tells Xander that it looks like Theresa is up to her old tricks. Xander asks if he will issue a warrant for her arrest then. EJ admits he’d love to let Theresa walk because of how much it would bother Nicole, but he has to uphold the law, so he will issue an arrest warrant immediately. Xander thanks EJ and then exits the mansion. EJ remarks that if only punishing Nicole were that easy.

Nicole walks to the town square and calls Eric, telling him that Holly is about to meet her there and thanks him for wishing her luck as she feels she’s going to need it. Nicole hangs up as Holly arrives and asks where their first apartment is to look at, mentioning she’d love to live by the water. Nicole responds that she was actually thinking farther and asks Holly what she thinks about Paris. Nicole explains that Eric invited her to come to Paris with him and she thought maybe it would be good for all of them but Holly declares there’s no way in Hell she’s leaving Salem and storms off.

Tate reads online in an article about what happened at the double wedding with the wrong heir being named and questions what Theresa has done.

Brady tells Alex that he can’t say he’s shocked that Theresa took off because it’s what she does in making a mess, then leaving everyone else to clean it up. Brady wouldn’t be surprised if Theresa got the hell out of dodge for good, but Theresa then walks in and tells Brady he’s wrong.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Stephanie and Jada agree that it’s possible that “Everett” isn’t really Everett. Stephanie doesn’t get why Bobby would pretend to be Everett but then realizes it got him out of Bayview.

At the hospital, Bobby as “Everett” tells Kayla that it’s none of her business then apologizes for sounding rude. He talks about dealing with a serious mental illness and trying to get his life back on track while working under a new boss, so it’s been a really stressful time. He tells Kayla that worrying about Stephanie’s feelings just isn’t his top priority right now and apologizes again. He remarks that first he sounded rude and now he sounds insensitive. He repeats that he has to focus on his mental health and tells Kayla that he needs to get to a therapy appointment as he walks away.

Paulina is at home finishing a call. Abe walks in and asks what that was all about. Paulina complains that Everett has called her office four times looking for a statement on Rafe’s stabbing and when she finally got a chance to call back, he was unavailable. Abe encourages her to take it easy since “Everett” just got out of Bayview. Paulina says she just doesn’t need a reporter wasting her time when she’s dealing with a police commissioner in a coma. Paulina adds that she has not one single lead as to who put Rafe in a coma and that she also needs to appoint an interim police commissioner while Rafe is out. Abe asks who she is thinking of. Paulina calls Jada the best possible candidate so far but with Rafe in a coma, she imagines Jada wants to spend any free time at her bedside.

Connie sneaks in to Rafe’s hospital room and reaches towards his machines but Gabi walks in and questions what she is doing in there. Connie says that she saw the news about Rafe and the stabbing and she’s sorry to intrude but she feels so terrible about what happened to him. Gabi questions her knowing Rafe. Connie says she doesn’t personally but feels like she does because all the citizens of Salem feel grateful to Rafe for keeping their streets safe. Connie claims that she can’t believe someone would stab Rafe and that she came to visit him to see if she could help. Gabi tells Connie to cut the crap and tell her why she’s really there.

Abe is sure Paulina is right that Jada is focusing on Rafe and his recovery. Paulina says that Jada might want to put as much overtime on the job as she can to nail the bastard who attacked Rafe. Paulina says she plans on reaching out to Jada right before her appointment with Kayla. Abe encourages Paulina to take deep breaths so she doesn’t get another lecture on her blood pressure. Paulina says she’s not worried as she hasn’t felt this good in years, so she’s sure she will get an excellent report.

Stephanie brings up Marlena releasing “Everett” from Bayview. Jada says she was there and he was very convincing, so there was no way to think it wasn’t him. Jada suggests maybe he’s just a really good actor. Stephanie wonders why he’d be faking it now and what has changed. Jada thinks she has an idea.

Bobby goes to Marlena’s office which is empty and tells himself that being Everett is stressing him out and he’s not sure how much longer he can keep it up. Marlena then comes in and asks if he was talking to someone. He says just himself and jokes that it’s the first sign of insanity.

Connie tells Gabi that she got her and she’s not here because of Rafe, but because of Gabi.

Kate goes to see Abe, who says he’s eager to hear how things went in LA. Kate responds that it wrapped up a little sooner than she thought. Kate explains that the producers loved their proposal and thought the financials were solid and they were eager to continue the show but say they don’t have the means. Kate then reveals that they gave a resounding yes and announces that Body and Soul is now theirs as they excitedly hug.

Kayla sets Paulina up in a hospital room for her check up. Paulina asks if there’s any updates on Rafe but Kayla says unfortunately no. Kayla asks how Paulina is feeling. Paulina says physically she’s never been better. Kayla tells her that her test results are all excellent, but she does have one concern.

Gabi questions Connie saying she’s there because of her. Connie reminds her that she asked for her resume as Gabi Chic, so she wanted to bring her a hard copy and came up with some ideas for the business. Gabi questions Connie coming to her comatose brother’s hospital room, hoping to run in to her to give her a resume. Gabi argues that sounds nuts and tells Connie that this is getting creepy. Gabi adds that she never saw her until the other day but now every time she turns around, there she is. Gabi tells Connie that she does not have time for a stalker and tells her to leave now. Connie responds that she’s sorry but she can’t do that.

“Everett” asks Marlena if they can end their appointment early today. Marlena questions why they would do that. He claims to be really busy and that he has so much to do that his head is spinning. Marlena brings up that when he was released from Bayview, he assured that he was 100% dedicated to his recovery. He claims that he is but his stress level feels like it will impede his recovery more if he stays instead of just going home to deal with stuff and get his life in order. Marlena knows his job is important to him and his relationship with Stephanie is important, but says they have to agree that his treatment takes precedence. He respond that at least Stephanie won’t be an issue anymore because he broke up with her.

Stephanie and Jada wonder why Bobby was so eager to get out of Bayview. Jada talks about only visiting him because Stephanie asked her to. Stephanie asks about Bobby wanting to rekindle their relationship. Jada confirms that Bobby was coming on very strong and it felt the same in Rafe’s room which felt very strange because Everett never wanted anything to do with her. Stephanie says if it’s really Bobby, that would explain why he dumped her and let Jada know right away. Jada remembers being with Bobby when Everett supposedly re-emerged and it wasn’t until she was questioning him about Li Shin’s murder. They realize that if he’s still really Bobby, that means he knows who really killed Li Shin and he’s pretending to be Everett to cover up the truth.

Abe tells Kate that this is incredible and says he felt like he was mourning Body and Soul when it was cancelled. Kate stops him and says there is one major issue that could make the whole deal unravel.

Paulina tells Kayla that she’s had so many things wrong with her this year and asks if this is nothing major because she doesn’t think she can take any more bad news. Kayla tells her the good news is that they caught this before it turned in to bad news, so that makes it not that big of a deal. Kayla reveals that her cholesterol is moderately elevated. Paulina mentions her mother dealing with that and she’s now 93. Kayla brings up Paulina’s medical history. Paulina knows elevated bad cholesterol increases chances of a heart attack or stroke. Kayla says they need to get that level down, so Paulina asks how to do that. Kayla talks to her about a low fat diet. Paulina tells Kayla that she is not taking any meds.

Gabi questions Connie not leaving and threatens to call security. Connie explains that she won’t leave because Gabi needs her which she questions. Connie asks when Gabi last slept or ate, arguing that she has so much on her plate with Gabi Chic and getting her life back in order while now having to spend every free moment with Rafe. Connie says she can relieve her of that burden by being her assistant, adding that she’s offering her services for free as it would be her honor to serve her. Gabi repeats that she doesn’t have the time for this. Connie asks her to just think about it and goes to get Gabi some coffee.

Marlena questions “Everett” breaking up with Stephanie as she thought rekindling their relationship was one of the main reasons he wanted to be out of Bayview. He says that it was and he really likes Stephanie, but when he got out, he felt overwhelmed with work and therapy. He claims it didn’t feel fair to Stephanie to make her wait around until he’s mentally healthy. He adds that after their last session, he feels like he’s starting to feel some of Bobby’s feelings. Marlena notes that could be a sign of progress. He talks about being reluctant to face everything that happened in his past but now he thinks he’s ready and asks Marlena to hypnotize him again.

Stephanie wonders why Bobby would bring up Li Shin’s murder to her and then not tell her anything about it. Jada knows it’s strange and says Bobby was stringing her along until she threatened him with never seeing her again. Stephanie wonders if Bobby could have had something to do with Li’s murder. Jada doesn’t know and says at one point, she thought Bobby could never hurt a fly but she also thought he’d never be a liar. Jada then gets a call from the police station and instructs them not to give Everett Lynch anything on the investigation of Rafe’s stabbing or any leads either. Jada is shocked to learn that he called three times. Jada says she will handle it and hangs up, wondering what the hell is going on with him. Stephanie goes over Bobby being desperate to get Jada back and if he thinks that Rafe is the only thing standing in his way, maybe he’s also desperate to know the status of Rafe’s stabbing. Jada then wonders if Bobby could’ve been the one who did it.

Abe asks Kate what the problem is. Kate says they were always concerned about getting the original cast to relocate to Salem. Abe mentions recasting some of the minor characters. Kate informs him that the three main characters are impossible to relocate as two of them are contracted to other projects in LA while another is married to a makeup artist there. Abe asks why they can’t just fly them out when they need them. Kate says they don’t have the budget for that. Abe argues that the three female leads are iconic and the fans have loved them for decades, so it wouldn’t be Body and Soul without them.

Stephanie knows it sounds crazy to think that Bobby stabbed Rafe. They agree that it’s a huge leap, but Jada points out that the timing does check out since Rafe got stabbed after Bobby was released from Bayview. Jada adds that there are no other obvious suspects here. Stephanie remember seeing Bobby at his hotel room that day, so she could be his alibi. Jada asks if she remembers what time it was. Stephanie checks her phone and sees that Marlena called her at 3:07, so she was there in about 10 or 12 minutes. Jada notes that was after she found Rafe at the cemetery since she called the ambulance at 2:24, so if Bobby does have an alibi, it’s definitely not Stephanie.

Marlena begins hypnotizing “Everett” and says they will begin with the good memories of his mother. He recalls asking why his mom let him hurt him. Marlena questions who. He tells Marlena that he sees his father with the big belt buckle and screams for his dad to stop.

Gabi sits at Rafe’s side and wonders if he can hear her. Gabi recalls when they had breakfast the other day and praises him as her brother. Gabi pleads with Rafe to wake up so he can help identify who did this and they can wipe that scum off the Earth.

Connie goes to get Gabi’s coffee at the hospital and calls her a diva bitch, complaining that after she finds a way to get rid of Rafe, Gabi is going to pay for what she did to Li Shin.

Kayla questions Paulina not wanting to take medication. Paulina says she already takes pills for blood pressure and her thyroid so she wants no more. Kayla asks what if it’s not a pill and the benefits outweigh the risks. Paulina hates feeling like she’s crumbling inside as she thought her health problems were over. Kayla encourages with these measures, they will be over for quite some time. Paulina apologizes for being grumpy and complaining when not many people have been as lucky as she has. Kayla notes that she is important to a lot of people and loved by so many. Paulina asks her not to tell Abe about her giving her a hard time about the medication because he will lecture her. Kayla thinks that Abe would be proud of her for contemplating this. Paulina feels that Abe has been so preoccupied with Body and Soul that he hardly notices her, but at least it gives him something to do other than moaning about it being cancelled.

Abe tells Kate that he guesses their only answer is to recast the show. Kate questions doing that and says they don’t want to be a pale imitation of the show, unless they reimagine the entire thing. Kate suggests calling it the next generation and setting it in the future but Abe says that wouldn’t be his show. Kate knows it’s a lot and that casting is only part of it as they need directors, writers, and crew. Kate says they have a big learning curve ahead of them.

Connie brings Gabi her coffee and says she hopes Rafe wakes up soon so he can go back to work and maybe he can catch his own assailant. Connie tells Gabi that she’s her gal if she needs anything else. Gabi thanks her. Gabi then tells Connie that she looked at her ideas and was kind of blown away. Gabi adds that her resume is very impressive. Gabi admits that she could use someone like her right now on a trial basis. Connie declares that she will prove her worth to her and she can’t wait to get started.

Jada and Stephanie talk about Bobby possibly stabbing Rafe. Stephanie remembers that Bobby was getting out of the shower when she showed up and maybe he was getting rid of evidence. Jada then remembers that Bobby was reading a murder mystery in Bayview. Jada says it’s all speculation but she’s had stranger theories turn out to be true. Stephanie questions how to figure out if it is true.

Marlena brings “Everett” out of hypnosis and tells him that he’s safe as she asks him what happened. He says he just hasn’t remembered that until now. He tells Marlena that his father Robert Stein terrorized him and that must be why Bobby came out that day to protect him and stayed until now. He says now that he remembers everything, he doesn’t need Bobby to protect him anymore. He says he has Bobby’s memories and feelings, like he’s a complete person now. He says he should’ve done this months ago like Marlena encouraged him to but he was too scared. He calls it incredible and doesn’t know how he can ever thank Marlena, calling her a miracle worker.

Paulina runs in to Gabi at the hospital and says she’s so sorry for what she’s going through. Gabi says she just came from seeing Rafe and there’s no change. Paulina assures that they are all praying for him and they will find whoever did this to him. Paulina promises that justice will be served.

Abe admits he has a big learning curve while Kate has television experience. Kate says she doesn’t with a scripted show. Abe jokes that he makes up for his lack of experience with a lot of enthusiasm. Abe suggests they hold off on casting and declares that Kate should play one of the roles. Kate says not to look at her since she’s just a producer and points out that even if she agreed, he’d still have two more roles to recast. Abe responds that he knows exactly who should play those roles too.

Kayla goes to Marlena’s office and says she wants to talk to her about Everett Lynch as she had an encounter with him this morning that left her quite troubled. Marlena mentions her session with him also left her troubled. Marlena says it went well but almost too well as he appeared to have a major breakthrough that she wouldn’t have expected for some time. Kayla asks if she thinks he’s putting on an act. Marlena doesn’t know and talks about him being so intelligent and clever to take drastic measures to secure his self preservation. Marlena says if the session was not as it seemed, then she thinks she made a serious mistake in releasing him from Bayview.

Bobby appears in Rafe’s hospital room and says he’s sorry as he never meant for this to happen to him. Bobby says he knew Connie was a wacko but if he knew she was going to try to kill him, he would’ve stopped her. Bobby says as a reporter, he should’ve asked more questions. Bobby adds that he never wanted Rafe to die, he just wanted him out of the way so he could have Jada all to himself.

Jada wants to bring Bobby in for questioning but says she will have to handle it very delicately. Jada instructs Stephanie not to say anything to anyone because the last thing they need is for someone else to know that they think Everett is Bobby and that he might be the one who stabbed Rafe, as Connie appears around the corner.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

Ah, good morning, Mother.

Oh. Good morning. Did you sleep well?

Did I sleep well? [laughs] So much better than Statesville. So much better than the monastery and that Podunk motel room in Montana. No, this was amazing. It was like the Ritz, which is nice.

Good.

Yeah. Although I did hear someone crying last night, I think. Maybe I dreamt it.

Uh, no, that would be Ava. Roman just told me that Harris broke her heart, left town. Apparently, he’s following a lead on Megan Hathaway.

Wow. I hope he finds her.

[chuckles] Well, knowing Megan, he has a better chance of finding Amelia Earhart.

Yeah. I guess you’re right about that. I just wish that I had a chance to say goodbye and thank him, you know, for making the moves to get me out of jail finally.

Yeah. Well, he took long enough. I mean, I forgive him now because I have my son back.

Yeah. Yeah, you do. But not for long.

Oh, Chad. Thank God! You didn’t come home last night. I was so worried about you.

I’m sorry. I’m sorry.

Well, where’d you go?

Well, I went to Salem PD, and they said that Clyde had been shipped off to Supermax. So I drove all the way out to this, you know, citadel of a–of a prison.

Why would you want to do that? [tense music]

[chuckles] Look what I found. [chuckles] Jules left her little blankie.

[laughs] Well, this must be Carver’s.

Oh, well, I just have to put them both in the mail.

Yeah. Or we would have a good excuse for asking Eli and Lani to bring those twins back here for a visit.

[chuckles] I like the way you think.

[laughs]

I can’t believe it, Abraham. I just said goodbye to one daughter, and I’m about to say goodbye to my Chanel, and yet another grandbaby growing up thousands of miles away.

Well, you know, Johnny and Chanel might be back here before you know it. Oh, and besides, you are going to be plenty busy.

What do you mean by that? [soft music] “Radioactive Mayor Victoria says recall effort fails.”

[laughs] Congratulations, Mrs. Mayor.

Can you believe my grandma knitted us little baby booties?

Marlena Evans, a woman of many talents. You had any room in your suitcase for them? Because I can’t fit another thing.

What? Really? They’re going to take up like square inches. Okay, we’ll put them in mine.

Mm-hmm.

That’s–

That’s what I thought.

Hey there, Chanel, Johnny.

Dr. Green.

Chanel, how are you feeling today?

Uh, fine. The morning sickness is nearly gone, and I already made an appointment with my OB at UCLA.

Excellent. Did the tech come by?

Yeah. She just gave us a bunch of ultrasound pictures.

Everything looks good, right, Doctor?

Overall, the baby appears to be developing normally, but there is one concern I’d like to discuss. [tense music]

[sighs] Come on, Leo. Remember who you are. You are strong. You are resilient. You’ve got this. You better buckle up, Mom, because I have a lot to say to you, and you are gonna sit there, and you are gonna listen. I am not unlovable. I am not worthless. Oh, don’t give me that look. You know which one. It’s the same one you gave me when–

When you spilled my Mai Tai in the Poconos. [chuckles] Or was it a green martini? You were always a little clumsy, kiddo. [tense music]

Mother.

[soft orchestration] announcer: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the “Days of Our Lives.”

Leo, Leo, Leo. It’s been a while. To what do I owe the– well, I won’t say pleasure, but– hey, what you got here? What’s that? A script?

Just some notes, Mom.

Ah.

You know, we can’t all go through life just unfiltered, shooting from the hip like you.

Oh, listen to you. You’re one to talk. Do you remember when you were yapping at that lady in that little, tiny teacup ride? You almost had us thrown out of that. What was that place called?

Super Duper Funland?

Yeah.

I was a kid, Mom. And that lady’s halitosis was ruining everything. I was just brave enough to take a stand.

Oh, is that why you’re here, take a stand?

If you must know, I started therapy. And Dr. Evans says that I have to confront my childhood traumas.

Oh, please. You don’t have anything better to do than listen to that new age quack?

Dr. Evans is not a new age quack. She’s a top-notch therapist. And how do you deal, Mom? You just scream at your ex-husband into a payphone? [soft dramatic music]

I may be in a federal penitentiary, but I am still your mother, and you will treat me with respect. Therapy. [chuckles] Why don’t you just man up for once in your life and–

Damn it, Mom.

You may be an underachiever, an also-ran, and you may, I don’t know, have consider– well, you do cut kind of a sad, lonely figure, but you are not crazy. So why on God’s green earth do you need therapy?

Because of you.

What’s your concern, Doctor?

Well, today’s ultrasound, it showed two soft markers, as they’re called. And they may very well mean nothing, but they could be indicators for a congenital abnormality. So I’m going to refer you to a genetic counselor in Los Angeles, run some further tests.

These soft markers, could they be from radiation exposure?

Well, your exposure was brief, and the levels were relatively low. But there’s no way to know for sure. [soft dramatic music]

Radioactive Mayor. What kind of nickname is that? I sound like one of those characters out of a superhero movie with all the CGI.

You know, now it’s all going to blow over that we– we know that Concerned Citizens has been revealed to be EJ DiMera.

And a handful of folks that he paid off to sign his damn petition. Ooh, you know, Abe, it still galls me that I had to reinstate that two-timing EJ DiMera to make this go away, oh, especially since I promised Melinda the job as long as she wanted it.

Did you offer her something else?

Yeah, yeah. And she took it as an insult, told me to take the job and shove it. Oh, and, you know, now I do– I desperately need a head of sanitation.

You have another candidate in mind?

No. No, I don’t. You know, and with the market so tight right now–

Well, you know, I may know someone who’s interested.

Really? Who?

Me. [tense music]

Jack, I didn’t realize you were here still.

Oh, he decided to spend the night.

Yes. Yes. I’m driving back to Boston later this morning.

Great. Well, I’m glad– I’m glad we get to say goodbye now.

Just a minute. Before we say goodbye, let’s just back up a second. Why would you want to see Weston again? He’s told you everything you want to know, hasn’t he? [dramatic music]

I hope you didn’t go after Clyde with some revenge plot in mind.

I did. You know, I found him in Montana, and– and I pulled the tri– I was gonna pull the trigger, and I didn’t, ultimately, because that’s–you know, Abigail wouldn’t have wanted that, so–

No, she wouldn’t have wanted that. She would have wanted you to think of Thomas and Charlotte and how much they need their dad right now. So as much as I want Clyde to rot in hell, I’m really glad you didn’t make that choice. Well, I better get going. I will see you soon.

Yep.

Okay?

Okay.

Julie, I love you.

Love you too.

See you soon.

Jack, wait. [soft dramatic music]

So, Doctor, you’re saying that if something is wrong with our baby, it could be from radiation exposure?

We can’t rule it out at this point.

I just want to say, as the older brother of someone with Down syndrome, I wouldn’t be where I am today without my sister. She’s brought so much into my life. She’s the kindest person I know.

And she’s also an excellent baker. I’m gonna miss Felicity a lot.

I know she was hoping to say goodbye to you.

I know. I was hoping the same, but it’s just been such a whirlwind. But you know what? Our flight isn’t until later tonight. So I’m gonna text her and see if she can meet up with us. I think it would do my heart a lot of good.

Yeah, mine too.

You want to be my head of sanitation?

I know the job. Town obviously has a need.

Oh, here I thought you were enjoying retirement. But, Abraham, do you really want to be my subordinate?

Well, if that means spending more time with you, absolutely.

Oh, yeah, well, you know, I would love that too. But the only thing I’d be concerned about is it’ll be viewed as nepotism. [soft dramatic music]

Is that you’re really concerned about?

Well, what does that mean?

It means I get the feeling that you really don’t want me working for you.

Lucas, I just spent months fighting to get you home. And now you’re going to pack up and go to Phoenix?

You know I want to– I want to go to Phoenix to be with Will and Allie. You know that. And you know that I miss my grandkids. You know I miss my kids, and I just have to make amends for what I did to Sammy. You know, I’m surprised that they’re even speaking to me at all.

What do you mean? Of course they’re speaking to you. They know exactly what their mother did, how she tormented you. I mean, basically, she drove you to do what you did. Of course, she doesn’t beat herself up. You know, she always gets a pass.

Oh, two wrongs don’t make a right, doesn’t justify my behavior.

[sighs] That’s true. I mean, I can’t just blame Sammy, I guess. There’s someone else I could blame, though.

Who?

You’re looking at her. [mellow country music playing]

Oh, yeah, sure. Let’s blame Mommy. That’s original.

I’m not blaming you.

Then what are you doing? Oh, I get it. You came all the way here to make me feel guilty. Well, that was a waste of time and good gas money.

Listen to me, Mother. The last time I was here, you told me I was an utterly worthless human being whom no one could ever love.

Well, and you agreed with me.

Because you gaslit me my entire life. Do you remember telling me that I had the voice of an angel, that I was destined, destined for stardom?

What are you talking about?

Of course you don’t remember. I entered a talent show at school. And in front of the entire auditorium, I’m singing my little heart out thinking that, because of you, that I’m a younger, cuter Billy Joel, the piano boy, as you put it.

Oh. [laughs] The piano boy. I have no memory of this.

Not surprising. Then right in the middle of “New York State of Mind,” I see pens, pencils, all sorts of things being hurled my way on stage because, it turns out, I cannot sing worth a lick. You lied to me.

Oh! Oh, kiddo. If that actually happened– [sighs] And I’m highly skeptical, maybe it was good for you. You know, character building. You know, I read about someone who was mercilessly bullied, Gene Hackman. Look how he turned out.

I am not going to sit here and take any of this. Do you hear me? I am going to say what I came here to say, and you are going to listen to me. [tense music]

You expect me to sit here and listen to your whining and moaning and blaming all of your inadequacies on me? Tell me, Leo, how many times have you come to visit your mother in all of these years? Twice. Not even so much as a birthday card.

You don’t like birthday cards.

Not the mushy, gushy ones.

You don’t like the funny ones either.

Anything would have been better than nothing. You selfish little ingrate. And now you show up once in a blue moon and, of course, it’s all about you and your imaginary childhood traumas.

I didn’t imagine it, any of it. The way I feel and what I’ve been through has meaning. I have meaning.

I don’t want to hear it! Guard!

I am not worthless. I am not unlovable. I am Leo Stark.

Oh, God! Here we go again.

I am Matthew Cooper. I am whoever you wanted me to be. My whole life, I did as you said, because all little Matty ever craved was your love. And it has taken me this long to realize there was nothing I could do or be that was ever enough for you.

Yada, yada, yada.

Nobody was ever enough for you. That’s why you had no friends. The people you thought were your friends, you just used them and manipulated them to get what you wanted, just like you did with your own son.

Oh, God, the self-pity.

You let me believe that I was John Black’s son just so you could get your hands on him. Did it ever occur to you how that might have affected me? He was the closest thing I ever had to a parent, to someone who loved me for who I was. And then when all was said and done, he hated me too.

[screams] Guard, take me back to my cell, please!

But I learned a lot from you, Mother– to lie, to cheat, to hide who I really was, to keep everything superficial and betray the few people who truly cared about me. But most of all, I learned that you never should have been a mother in the first place.

Not to a dead loss like you. May I see that? Please?

My script?

Your script. Yeah. Yeah, your script. [moans] [wails]

How is it your fault that I went crazy and kidnapped my ex?

Well, maybe it’s in your DNA. You know, I– I’ve been thinking about Philip and the extremes that he went to to hold on to Chloe. And I’m thinking maybe you both could have inherited this particular form of madness from me.

But you never did anything like that. You never did anything like what Philip and I did.

No, not for a man. But for my kids, I certainly did.

Mom, you’re protective and you’re overbearing, that’s true. But you’re fiercely loyal, and you’ve always been there for us. That’s all that matters.

You have always done the same for your kids.

That’s right. That’s why I have to see them now. You know, I miss them very much.

And they miss you. I know they do because every time I talk to them, they ask about you. They really do miss you a lot. And you know I’m gonna give you my blessing to go to Arizona and see them as long as you promise to come back.

I will.

Again.

[clears throat]

I’m gonna miss you. I missed you so much. [sighs] I am so grateful that you’re free.

I am beyond grateful. I will never take my freedom for granted again. [mellow country music]

What is it?

I want you to have this. [chuckles] I have tried everything known to man to open it. I have failed. And I got to thinking about Jennifer. Well, she spent her teenage years in this house. She was so close to Alice and Tom, her grandparents. And, well, she’s a clever girl. So maybe she has the magic touch.

She just may.

So will you take it to her?

I will.

[chuckles] Don’t drop it.

Oh, precious cargo. I got it.

Yeah. Oh, Jack, you’re the precious cargo. You mean so much to all of us. Please come back soon, will you?

I will.

And bring Jennifer.

I certainly will.

[laughs] [somber music]

Buh-bye.

Love you.

Love you too. Chad, I love you both.

We love you. And give our love to Jennifer, please.

Jeez, I thought you were about to tell him.

I’m not gonna tell him anything. Besides, I don’t really have anything to say, not yet.

I know. I really hoped that we were going to have some good news before he left. But, you know, now I wonder if we’re ever gonna know at all.

You’re right. You’re right, Abraham. I don’t love the idea of you being my new head of sanitation. But it’s not for the reason you think.

Why?

Well, you’re vastly overqualified for the job. You know that. But that’s not why. I would love to work alongside you, Abraham. The keyword being “alongside,” as equals. I–I don’t want to be your boss.

Oh, I understand.

Really? Really?

Yeah. I mean, the last thing I want to do is make you uncomfortable.

Oh. [laughs] Oh. I appreciate that. [laughs] Oh, and, you know, something else will come along. You’ll see.

Well, I’ll be patient.

Mm-hmm. [chuckles] Hey, oh, too bad you don’t have the skillset to take over a certain bakery that I have up for lease. Ha.

Well, maybe– maybe Chanel could give me a crash course.

Yeah, yeah, but, you know, it’ll have to be by Zoom, unfortunately.

[chuckles] [gentle music]

Are you okay?

[sighs] Well, I thought I was. I thought I was at peace with leaving everything behind.

You’re not, though.

Not what?

You’re not leaving everything behind. You’re gonna– you’re gonna open up a Sweet Bits in California. You can start with an LA location, and then you can branch off into–

I know, I know, but it’s not that. It’s–[sighs]

Then what is it?

Well, it’s just that I– I really convinced myself that everything was gonna be okay with our baby, even though I knew that there could be risks and even though, you know, everyone tried gently to tell me that I was being naive.

Chanel, are you saying that you’ve changed your mind about the pregnancy?

It’s just that it suddenly just feels so real. You know? And we weren’t planning to start a family this soon. And I just–like what if I’m not ready to be a mother? Felicity! Hi.

Hi, Chanel. Hi, Johnny.

Hi.

Are you okay, Chanel?

Yeah, yeah. I’m fine. Thank you for asking.

Are you sure?

Well, I guess I’m just– I’m having mixed emotions. You know, part of me is feeling really excited to be moving to California, and then another part of me is just feeling really sad to leave Salem.

I’m sad too. I’m going to miss you a lot.

I’m going to miss you too, Felicity.

Will you write to me?

Yeah, of course I will.

You promise?

I promise.

I love you, Chanel.

I love you too, Felicity. [tender music]

Ah. You know, Sweet Bits is a special place. I’m gonna miss it.

Me too. But I plan on being the first customer in line at the LA location as soon as Chanel opens it. [chuckles] Oh, my stomach is growling just thinking about it.

Oh, you know what? Speaking of that, I thought that I would swing by the pub and pick up some takeout.

Oh, well, could you pick up something for Chanel and Johnny too?

Oh, of course. Chanel still on that cheeseburger and extra pickles kick?

At least this week. Who knows what’s next? [laughs] Oh, Abe, I am gonna miss that child. Oh. Johnny too.

[chuckles] Well, at least we’re going to have each other close by and right here, same apartment.

Thank God for that.

[laughs] [tender music]

You’re not giving up, are you?

I’m just–just frustrated. I mean, you know, I can’t believe they shipped Clyde off so fast, you know, before I could even talk to him. It just–

I know. Rafe said he wanted to talk to Clyde too, some of the information he thought he might have about getting Gabi out of jail. Well, do you think Rafe could intercede for you?

Oh, the feds already know that Clyde could have information on a missing person. They said no exceptions. Look, Julie, I know that there’s such a slim chance that Abigail could be alive. But I mean, now that Clyde gave us this information, I just– I can’t rest until I get some answers.

Of course not. I feel exactly the same way. I’m with you in this all the way.

I know. So… I mean, if we’re gonna find out who this woman in this video is–

Yeah. We’re gonna have to do it without the help of the big jailbird.

Yeah.

What sanctimonious psychobabble. I am not to blame for your degenerate lifestyle. It is not my fault you are the way you are.

What do you mean by that, Mother? Gay?

Single, friendless, disloyal, unloving, unloved. I miss anything?

No, that covers it.

And if that quack, Marlena Evans, think you were going to fix all of your problems by filling me with guilt, then you have wasted a lot of money on your therapy, not to mention my time. [tense music]

I came here to get some things off my chest. This was for me, not you.

Did it work? Feel better?

There’s only one other time I can recall where I poured my heart out to you. Do you remember?

Why would I want to?

It was the first time Dad hit me. I had gotten a B on some exam. And the irony was he never even looked at my grades, let alone cared about them. But for some reason, that B really pissed him off. [soft dramatic music]

He hit me so hard.

I begged you to make him stop. And do you remember what you said to me? You told me to suck it up, to be a man. So that’s what I did. Nine years old. I didn’t say a word.

And when I finally killed him to protect both of us, you blamed me for all of it. He was the villain. You were the villain.

You were my mother. You were supposed to protect me. That was your job, your one job. And you didn’t do it. You never did it. [breathes sharply] [sighs]

Are you gonna say anything?

I am at a loss, actually. And bored, if you must know.

[sighs] I guess it was expecting too much to hear you say “I’m sorry” or “I wish things were different.” Certainly shouldn’t have expected an “I love you.”

The next time you decide to come visit, just don’t.

I won’t.

I have something for you.

Oh, okay.

My big brother gave this for me when I was little. And it’s my favorite stuffed animal.

Oh, sweetheart, I can’t. I can’t take that.

Yes, you can. It’s time for it to have a new home.

Are you sure?

I want your baby to have it.

Just promise that you’ll take care of it.

We will.

Yes. And we promise that he or she will too.

Well, okay, I have to go home now. Bye, Chanel. Bye, Johnny.

Bye, Felicity. [gentle music] We will talk very soon, okay?

Please.

Bye.

I forgot I told her that we were having a baby.

Well, it was very sweet of her to give this to you.

Oh, Johnny.

What?

Sometimes, I feel like I– I forced this on you, you know, going through with this– this pregnancy.

Whoa, what? No, you did not force anything on me, okay?

Yeah, but when I decided that I wanted to have the baby, I didn’t really leave any room for disagreement.

Okay, look, I will admit it took me a little while to warm up to the idea. But now that I’ve seen those ultrasound pictures, I am completely on board. Okay?

And the test results, they didn’t change anything for you?

No. Not at all. Did they–[clears throat] Did they change anything for you?

No, no. It’s just I– I’ve been thinking, you know, a child can be born perfectly healthy and you still never know what could happen down the road.

Right.

Like take Theo, for example. You know, Abe and Lexie, I’m sure that they were so worried when they found out that he was autistic. But look at him, he’s just a wonderful guy. And Felicity, she’s an amazing person. And her family, they’re so blessed to have her.

And so are we– blessed to have each other and to have this baby on the way.

Yeah.

I love you, Johnny.

I love you too. And I promise you that whatever life throws at us, we will get through together.

I’ve watched this video a thousand times– sped up, slowed down, zoomed in, zoomed out. And still, I just, you know, I go back and forth between definitely Abigail’s alive and– and, you know, she’s definitely not alive. There’s no possible way she could be alive. [doorbell rings]

Doorbell. I’ll get it. I’ll get it.

Oh. [laughs] Look, look, look, look, look, look.

Hey.

Hey, man. What are you doing?

Ah, you know, hanging out.

[laughs] Big news. Drum roll. The rest of his sentence has been officially commuted.

What?

Yeah.

What?

Yeah.

[grunts] Congratulations.

Thanks, man. I appreciate it. I appreciate it. I just actually came to say goodbye.

Goodbye?

Yeah. I got to get to Phoenix. I got to check in on Will and Ali. It won’t be for that long.

Well, I hope not.

No, no, no.

Okay, well, the kids are gonna be thrilled to see you.

Yeah.

Man, I’m so happy.

Thanks, dude. What’s going on here? What do you guys got?

It’s all right. It’s all right, as long as he doesn’t tell Jack or Jennifer.

Yeah. You got to keep it quiet.

Yeah, I won’t say anything to anybody. Just tell me what’s going on. [suspenseful music]

There’s a video. It might possibly be proof that… Abigail is still alive.

Oh, wait until Dr. Evans gets a load of that Hindenburg disaster of a visit. Oh, that’s right, she doesn’t take walk-ins. [sighs] [soft dramatic music] [phone beeps] Hi. This is Leo Stark. I need to see Dr. Evans ASAP. Tomorrow? No, no, I’m here now. This is an emergency. No, I’m not thinking of harming myself. This is about my sociopathic nightmare of– Okay. Okay. I will be here tomorrow. [phone beeps] [soft dramatic music] “The next time you want to come and visit me, just don’t.”

I won’t. I won’t come visit you again, Mother. In fact, I never want to see you again. In fact, you can burn in– oh, no, no, you can’t… because you’re my mother.

And as sad–as sad as it is, I still want you to love me. I want that so bad. [crying]

Hey, are you okay?

So what do you think?

I think Clyde’s playing mind games with you. I just don’t see, you know, how this– this video shows that this is Abigail. I really don’t. But I know you need to find out your own truth, you know. So you think about having the photos enhanced anyway?

That’s what I was gonna do next.

All right. I mean, we all wish that it were true. We all wish that this could be Abigail, but–

We all wish it, more than anything in the world. [somber music]

Hello, Kate.

Hey. Hi, Abe. You’re here for breakfast?

No, no. I’m here to pick up takeout for Chanel and Johnny. They are leaving town later today.

Really? I don’t know, I think that’s going around. So is Lucas. I mean, he’s leaving town. He’s going to go to Arizona and visit Will and Ari.

Oh, they’re living there now?

Yeah. Yeah. I mean, he says he’s coming back, you know. But in a way, I think maybe the universe is trying to give me a heads up that I need to stop obsessing over my children and get on with my life. Maybe even get a job.

[laughs] You know, there’s a lot of that going on. I–I had a similar thought earlier.

Yeah?

Mm.

We used to have a lot of fun working in that Mayor’s Office, didn’t we? You know, do you ever think about going into business again, maybe partnering up?

What kind of business?

I don’t know. I haven’t really– really haven’t thought about that yet.

Well, when you do, let me know.

You can be sure I will. Anyway, I’m gonna put an order in because we don’t want to keep a pregnant woman waiting, do we?

[chuckles]

So how was the appointment?

It was–

Everything’s fine.

Oh. Well, I’m glad to hear that. Oh, give me a hug. Give me a hug, you two. Oh. Oh, and you know what? I hope you brought your appetites with you because I just sent Abraham on a mission to the pub. He’ll be back any minute.

Well, I must be hungry because my stomach is growling.

[chuckles] Oh.

Are you okay?

What’s wrong? What’s wrong, baby?

Yeah. Yeah, I’m fine. I just–[winces] Ahh!

Oh!

Transcript provided by Suzanne

Hope: Mom, I’m really happy for you. You’ve defined beauty in the past with brooke’s bedroom, and I’m excited to see you do it again.

Brooke: Well, thank you, honey. It’s still all sinking in.

Hope: Well, look, I do understand maybe some of the hesitancy. Just please don’t allow one of those reasons to be steffy.

Brooke: [Sighs] She’s not going to be very happy when she hears the news.

Ridge: Steffy, you more than anyone knows how short life could be. Holding on to past grudges… come on.

Steffy: Look, I know how much you love me, and I want to do what’s best for us, but I can’t just forget what the logans have done.

Ridge: [Sighs] And I’m not asking that, I… brooke is a sticking point. I get it. Please, remember that it was me. I left you. I left your mom. It was me. Be upset with me, but I love brooke. I have for a long time. She’s my person. And the logans and the forresters aren’t at odds anymore. We’re one big family. Maybe not happy, but we’re a family. Crazy family, your kids, hope’s kids, all of us. I know what this feud is you’re holding on to. Even your grandma let it go. Her and brooke, they were great friends in the end. What a waste of time. They could have been so close for so long. So let’s not do this. Let’s not repeat history. I’m hoping, I’m really hoping you’re gonna… come on board with all of it. I’m going ahead with brooke with bedroom line. And this whole social media blitz, it’S… it’s gonna drop when brooke and I are in monte carlo.

Steffy: What? Brooke’s coming to monte carlo?

Poppy: I just can’t shake off how upset I am.

Luna: Mom, don’t give katie this much power over you. Like, look, I understand that us coming into bill’s life is a big adjustment, but if katie can’t handle that, then that’s on her.

Poppy: Okay, yes. Okay, you’re right. You’re right. And there is so much to be grateful for. And I know how much you are loving your life right now. I am. Well, you know, I–I loved our life before, too, but this just feels… I don’t know, like, complete. I finally have a father. And… it’s not just any father. It’s bill spencer, and… he’s welcomed us with open arms.

Poppy: Of course he has. And, you know, bill is really lucky to have a daughter like you. I know that I am.

Luna: This is a really special moment for us right now.

Poppy: I love our life, and I’m not gonna let anyone ruin it.

Bill: Well, I love our life as well. And I agree. No one is going to ruin it.

Li: Katie, are you accusing me if I somehow mishandled bill and luna’s paternity test?

Katie: Oh, no, no, no. I–I don’t mean to suggest that. I’m just wondering if there’s any chance that the test could be incorrect.

Poppy: Um, bill, I was just being a little dramatic. I–I really didn’t–

Bill: No, I agree. You never have to hide your feelings from me. No secrets.

Li: So you’re not implying I made an error with the paternity test, but you’re still asking if it could be wrong?

Katie: Please, don’t take this personally. I–I don’t have your expertise, but I’M… I’m sure these tests have false results from time to time, and I’m just wondering if, uh… it might not be correct.

Li: My sister’s really alarmed you, huh?

Katie: Yes. Yes, she has. I keep on getting these weird vibes from her, like she’s hiding something. So… maybe the results aren’t right.

Li: No, katie, the paternity test is correct. Bill is luna’s father.

Hope: Look, if steffy is not thrilled about the relaunch of the bedroom line, then… you know, that’s on her. We–we should be celebrating. We shouldn’t be worrying about her reaction. And besides, I know ridge cannot wait to get started.

Brooke: Honestly, I think he just enjoys me trying on lingerie for him.

Hope: Mom, I–

Brooke: Okay, I’m kidding. Okay? This is gonna be very exciting, going to the global fashion summit and relaunching brooke’s bedroom officially.

Hope: Hmm. Well, maybe it doesn’t have to be just business. I mean, it could be a little bit of a romantic getaway for you and ridge. It might be just what you need.

Brooke: I totally agree.

Hope: Wait, but, uh… isn’t steffy going, too?

Brooke: [Sighs, laughs]

Steffy: You want brooke to come to monte carlo?

Ridge: Yeah, I think brooke coming is going to help relaunch the bedroom line.

Steffy: But, dad, I… I thought it was just going to be the two of us. Moving forward withnode-positive breast cancer.

Poppy: I’m sorry. I… I didn’t want to sound insecure or worried.

Bill: About what we have being ruined? I would never let that happen. This is important to me, too. I mean, it has literally changed my world. And having a daughter… especially one as remarkable as luna… has made me a different man. I never expected it. But now that I have it, I don’t want to let it go.

Katie: So these paternity tests are–are never faulty? There’s–there’s never any room for error?

Li: It depends who administers them. As you know, I ran the test myself, taking out any room for error.

Katie: Because you suspected poppy of the same thing I did, that she might alter the results in her favor. Because you know that she might do something as treacherous as lying and trapping bill into believing that he’s luna’s father.

Li: I owe bill my life after he saved me. But I also care about my niece enough to not see her be hurt. So I took charge, making sure there was no room for doubt or uncertainty. And there wasn’t, katie. The paternity test was correct.

Hope: Things are going well. I mean, the logans and the forresters could finally be working together in harmony. But then it just seems like steffy wants to keep the feud alive and well, and if she goes to monte carlo, then–

Brooke: She is definitely planning on coming. I heard her talking about it.

Hope: Oh, and I can’t imagine that she would bow out gracefully to let you and ridge have a romantic getaway alone.

Steffy: I was really looking forward to our trip to monte carlo. I thought it was just gonna be the two of us.

Ridge: [Sighs] I’m still looking forward to it. It’s gonna be the two of us. We just added brooke because she’s–she’s back now.

Steffy: Yeah, but our company’s presence, it goes way beyond brooke’s bedroom line. Our company is not just a lingerie company.

Ridge: I know that. But we create beauty, and we… make women feel like they’re desired. And that’s where the bedroom line comes in because… at forrester, it doesn’t matter if you’re 20 or 40 or 80 or even 100 years old. Being beautiful, that never goes away. Monte carlo is the right location and brooke is the right spokesperson, and… I’m hoping you can support that. Type 2 diabetes?

Poppy: You’re not the only one who sees the world differently. You’ve changed my life, too. I’ve always been fiercely protective. I mean, especially when it comes to luna. From the day she was born, I just held her so incredibly close to me. So for me to share her or to not be the only parent, it’s a huge deal. You say that we changed your life. You’ve changed our lives in more ways than you can possibly imagine.

Luna: I’m just so grateful that you’re my father.

Li: Believe me, I understand how difficult this must be for you, katie, seeing your ex-husband with another woman.

Katie: He was bound to move on sooner or later. I mean, honestly, that’s what I wanted for him.

Li: But still, it’s to see him with a new family in the same home where you raised your son. Uh… it must be challenging.

Katie: It is. But it’s not so much the new family. I mean, we would have made that work. It’s more the… this territorial vibe I’m getting from your sister. I mean, just, something seems off.

Li: Something always feels off when it comes to penelope. That’s why I stormed over to bill’s and demanded I administer the paternity test. It just felt like she was up to something. But I was wrong, katie. She wasn’t lying. Bill is, without a shadow of a doubt, luna’s father.

Hope: You know, I hate that we can’t just enjoy your accomplishments, that we have to worry about steffy and her constant disapproval.

Brooke: It’s not all her fault, hope. There’s a history of conflict between our families, especially her mother and me.

Hope: Okay, well, don’t you think it’s about time she got over it? Her dad is a grown man. He made a choice. He wants to be with you, and he picked you to be the face of the relaunch of one of the most successful lines at forrester creations. This is your time. It is well deserved. So you and ridge, you are going to go to monte carlo. And, yes, steffy will be there, too.

Brooke: Glaring at me the whole time.

Hope: Okay, fine. Let her glare. If steffy wants to have a pity party, fine. We will let her. But you… promise me that you will enjoy this trip with ridge, and please do not let steffy come between you.

Steffy: You want me to support this?

Ridge: Yes. It’s an empowering message for women of all ages.

Steffy: I support the empowerment of women.

Ridge: Just not brooke.

Steffy: I know brooke, and she doesn’t really care about empowering women. This is about her. She wants all the attention. She’s good at it. She manipulated you with a lingerie line.

Ridge: Oh, is she? I’m played that easily?

Steffy: Yeah, I think so.

Ridge: She didn’t even want this. I had to convince her to do the bedroom line. You were there.

Steffy: Fine. Fine. Okay. If you want to revamp the line, and you want brooke as the spokesperson… okay, fine. Let’s do it. But please, let’s just not have her come to monte carlo.

Ridge: Steffy–

Steffy: No. When was the last time you and I had actual time together without kids, without our significant others? Like, I feel like life is pulling us in so many different directions, and I was really looking forward to this, dad.

Ridge: I’m still looking forward to it. We were doing it.

Steffy: Yeah, but brooke is tagging along with us now.

Ridge: Because it’s better for business.

Steffy: I personally think it’s gonna be a huge flop.

Ridge: I don’t agree.

Steffy: Well, that sucks, because as co-ceo’s, we need to support each other in these big decisions.

Ridge: And we also need to have each other’s backs and maybe give each other the benefit of the doubt. Look, we’re gonna have a photo shoot here, and it’s gonna be all beautiful models. We’ll do all that. But in monte carlo, it’s gonna be brooke. ‘Cause she’s just better at selling this stuff than anybody else. And I promise you, we’ll–we’ll have time. The two of us will find time just for us, okay? Promise you. Come here. I love you.

Steffy: And I love you. And I love you.

Ok y’all we got ten orders

coming in.. big orders!

Bill: So now that we’re alone, there’s something I want to talk to you about. My spencey senses are tingling.

Poppy: Your spencey senses?

Bill: Mm-hmm. I’m feeling like you’re stressed, uptight.

Poppy: I mean, yeah. I mean, I guess I have been a little on edge recently.

Bill: Why?

Poppy: [Sighs] I had a run in with katie earlier.

Bill: What did she say?

Poppy: She had questions about me. Questions that she’s going to get the answers to.

Bill: And what do you suppose that means?

Poppy: I have no idea. You know, I am sick and tired of this. And first my sister questions my character and integrity, and now your ex-wife. I–I’m sorry.

Bill: It’s all right. No, no, no. Don’t apologize. And don’t worry about katie. She thinks she’s protecting me. Katie’s harmless.

Katie: I know you’re hiding something, poppy, and I’m gonna find out what.

Ridge: [Grunts]

Brooke: Ah. Something’s gotten into you.

Ridge: Just keep thinking about you in that lingerie.

Brooke: Oh, is that so?

Ridge: Yeah. Oh, I know. I was gonna ask you. Can you put that on again? ‘Cause I think it needs an adjustment, just… professional stuff, obviously.

Brooke: Obviously. Tonight.

Ridge: Tonight, huh? You can have such an impact on so many women all over the world.

Brooke: I’m really flattered. I am. You have a way of making me feel beautiful and sexy.

Ridge: ‘Cause you are beautiful and sexy.

Brooke: I just can’t help but be a little bit concerned, self-conscious. And what’s really weighing on me is steffy.

Ridge: Steffy?

Brooke: I don’t want to come between you and your daughter.

Steffy: This isn’t a good time, hope.

Hope: Ooh. Could this mood maybe have something to do with your father and my mother? I heard the good news about the bedroom line. Really excited about the photo shoot. And the social media drop to coincide with the global fashion summit in monte carlo. I think putting my mom front and center is really going to be great for the company.

Steffy: Are you trying to get rise out of me?

Hope: Why would I want to do that? Like, my mother and I care about this company. You’re the only one who doesn’t seem excited about her return. She deserves this, steffy. And this opportunity means a lot to her.

Steffy: Yeah. My father used to be my co-ceo. That’s not the case anymore. Brooke’s in the middle. We were supposed to go to… monte carlo together and now brooke’s tagging along. My father and I, we used to have a really good bond, but… clearly things are changing.

Hope: I… I… understand.

Steffy: Please don’t try to patronize me.

Hope: I’m not, actually. I would be hurt if I expected to, you know, share an experience with my father only for that to be given to someone else. But I do think this issue is maybe bigger than us. And your problems are my problems. I think this comes down to our parents’ happiness. They’ve been through so much over the years. There’s so many ups and downs. And now I feel like they’re… they’re finally where they need to be. They finally found their footing and so I don’t think we should stand in the way of that. I think… we need to support them.

Steffy: Support… brooke? Never.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

  – Oh, my God.   Do you think it’s possible?   – That Everett isn’t really Everett?   Yeah, I do.   – But I don’t get it.   Why would Bobby be pretending to be Everett?   How could that possibly benefit him?

[sighs] Never mind. Dumb question.   It got him out of Bayview.

Yeah, exactly.

[eerie music]

You’re absolutely right, Dr. Johnson.   It is none of your business.

[tense music]   Gosh, um,   that sounded rude, didn’t it?

Yeah. Yeah, it did.   – Look, I’m– I’m really sorry.   I’m dealing with, like, a–   a pretty serious mental illness.   I’m just trying to get my life back on track.   And on top of it all, I’m working under a new boss.

[sighs]   It’s just been a really stressful time.

Yeah, I’m sure–   I’m sure it is.

Well, it’s, like, more than you can imagine.   So, to be frank, worrying about Stephanie’s feelings   just isn’t my top priority right now.

Got it.

Sorry, again.

Damn. First I sounded rude.   Now I sound insensitive.   But I suppose you understand   I have to focus on my mental health.   – Course.   – Now, if you’ll excuse me, I–   I need to get to a therapy appointment.   – Right.   – Uh-huh.   Well, you know, when he calls, you need to tell him that–   never mind. I’ll tell him myself.   Ugh.

Now what’s going on? What’s that all about?

Ugh.   Everett Lynch– he’s the editor of “The Spectator.”   Ugh.   The man has called my office four times   this morning, harassing me for a quote about   the police commissioner stabbing.   And the minute– the minute I finally   get some time to call the man back,   he’s out till after lunch.

Well, just take it easy on him.   He’s just released from Bayview.   – And how is that my problem?   Honestly, Abe, Abe, I just–   I don’t want some needy reporter   wasting my time when I am dealing   with a police commissioner who is in a coma and not–   not one single lead as to who put him there.   Not to mention, I still need to appoint   an interim police commissioner, you know,   while Rafe’s recovering.

Well, well, who’s on your mind?   I mean, who are you thinking of?   – Jada Hunter.   She’s the best, best candidate so far.   But the man she loves, he’s fighting for his life.   So I imagine that any free time she has,   she wants to spend at his bedside.

[somber music]

What are you doing in here?

– Well, I just–   I saw the news about Commissioner Hernandez   and the stabbing.   It’s just awful.   And I’m sorry to intrude, but I just feel terrible   about what’s happened to him.   – You know Rafe?   – Well, not personally, but I feel as though I do.   I mean, we, all of us in Salem,   we owe him such a debt of gratitude, don’t we?   For keeping the streets safe–   more or less safe, anyway.   Um, I just– well, I can’t believe   that someone would be so cruel and brazen enough   to– to stab the commissioner.   And I wanted to come visit him to see if I could help.

Why don’t you cut the crap and tell me   why you’re really here?

[dramatic music]

[soft orchestration]   announcer: Like sands through the hourglass,   so are the “Days of Our Lives.”

– Well, you know, I’m sure you’re right   that Jada is focusing on Rafe, his recovery.   – Mm-hmm, yeah.   But on the other hand, come to think of it,   she just might want to put as much overtime on the job   as she can so she can nail the bastard who attacked him.   I guess I’ll find out today.   I plan on reaching out to her right after   my appointment with Kayla.

All right.   Before your appointment,   take a couple of deep breaths   because you don’t want to get another lecture   on your blood pressure.

Well, I’m not worried.   I haven’t felt this good in years.

[chuckles]   I’m sure I’ll receive an excellent report.

[bright jazz music]

Well, Marlena never would have released Everett,   would she, if she thought there was   a chance he was faking it?

Oh, no.   And I was there when Everett emerged,   and he was very convincing.   I mean, there was no way to think that, you know,   that that wasn’t him.   I don’t know.   Who knows?   Maybe the guy is just a really good actor.

Yeah, maybe.

[eerie music]   But if he is faking it, why now?   What’s changed?

I think I have an idea.

Damn.   This being Everett thing is stressing me out.   Not sure how much longer I can keep it up.

Hello.

Hey, Dr. Evans.

I didn’t mean to startle you.

Oh, no, not at all.   Not at all.

Were you talking to someone?

Just myself.

Oh, OK.

First sign of insanity, right?

[laughter]

OK. You got me.   I’m not here because of Rafe.

Uh-huh.   So why are you really here?

Because of you.

[dramatic music]

Ah-ha, welcome back.

Hey, hey.

Welcome back.

Thank you.   Is this a good time?

Oh, yes, it’s a good time.   I’m just eager to hear how things went in LA.

Well, um, it wrapped up a little sooner than I thought.

Oh.

Yeah.   I mean, the producers, they– they loved our proposal.   You know, they thought the financials were solid,   especially with Chad involved,   and they’re really eager to see the show continue,   but unfortunately, they don’t have the means,   and they also appreciated that you were a loyal fan   and would be a good steward of the show.

Uh-huh.   But?

There’s no buts.

No buts?   Wait a minute.   They didn’t say no?

They did not.   In fact, they said a resounding yes.   We got the rights.   “Body and Soul” is ours, Abe!

[laughter]

[bright music]

Oh, man.

Paulina?

Oh, hello, Kayla.   Just give me one second.

[muttering]   Oh, sorry about that.   It’s a madhouse at City Hall.

Oh, I can imagine.

So any updates on   Commissioner Hernandez’s condition?

Unfortunately, no.   But, uh, how are you feeling?

Physically?   Never better.

Well, I’m glad to hear that.   Um, I got the results of your thyroid panel,   and they are excellent.   Your TSAs, your T, your T, everything   is in optimal ranges.   And your tumor panel, well, there’s–   there’s no markers whatsoever.   They’re undetectable.   – Oh, praise the Lord. Oh.   – I do have one concern, though.

[tense music]   – What do you mean, you’re here because of me?

Well, the last time I ran into you,   you asked me to send my résumé, remember,   for a job at Gabi Chic, assuming you’re still   reviving the brand with DiMera.   – Yes, that is happening.   Actually, I just signed the paperwork to make it official,   but that doesn’t– – Oh, wow, congratulations.   – Thanks.   But that doesn’t explain why you’re here   in my brother’s hospital room.

Well, as I was saying, I sent my résumé   that you requested, but then you didn’t respond.   So I wanted to bring you a hard copy in person.   I have one right here.   And I also took the liberty of coming up with some ideas   for the business.

[chuckles]   So let me get this straight.   You came to my comatose brother’s hospital room   hoping to run into me to hand-deliver a résumé?

[dramatic music]   You know that sounds nuts, right?   – Well, I’d hardly say nuts. – No.

Listen to me.   Look, I know you said you’re a Gabi stan,   but this is getting creepy.   I never even laid eyes on you until the other day,   and now every time I turn around,   there you freaking are.   I guess you think it’s flattering,   but I do not have the time for a stalker in my life.   I need you to leave now.   – I’m sorry. I can’t do that.

Look, uh, I know this is, like,   a -or-so-minute appointment, but, um,   do you think that we could end things a little early today?

[soft dramatic music]

Why would we do that?

I just– because I’m–   I’m really busy.   I have so much to do.   Um, my head’s just spinning.   You know?

When you were released from Bayview,   you assured me that you were %   dedicated to your recovery.

I am.   I absolutely am.   Um, I just– my stress level is at that point   that it honestly feels like it will impede my recovery more   if I stay here rather than it would if I just, you know,   went home and– and dealt with stuff   and just got my life in order.

I know your job is important to you,   and I know your relationship with Stephanie   is important to you.

But– but we just–   I don’t know.   We have to agree that– that your treatment   takes precedence.

Yeah.   Well, at least Stephanie won’t be an issue anymore.

Why not?

Oh, I broke up with her.

Why do you think Bobby was suddenly so eager   to get out of Bayview?

I don’t know.   I mean, I didn’t see him for weeks   after he was admitted.   As you know, I only went to go visit him   after you asked me to.   I mean, he didn’t seem to care that he hadn’t seen me.   I don’t know.   Maybe it was like something like out of sight,   out of mind thing.

Right.   But you said when you finally–   when he finally did see you, he was–   he was acting like he wanted to rekindle your relationship.

Oh, yes.   He was coming on very strong–   flirtatious, even.   And even in Rafe’s room, he was doing the same thing.   He offered me a shoulder to cry on,   which I found very strange and confusing.   I mean, Everett never wanted anything to do with me.

Mm-hmm, that’s true.   But Bobby only had eyes for you.

Yeah.   – So if Everett really is Bobby,   that would explain why he dumped me   and let you know right away that he was unattached.   –

[sighs] Who knows?

[eerie music]   Wait a minute.   – What?

I was with Bobby when Everett, you know,   supposedly re-emerged,   and it wasn’t until I was questioning him   about Li Shin’s murder, and I started, like,   to follow up with questions, and he seemed really thrown.   Yeah, he– he later said that he had no memory   of talking to me about Li Shin’s murder.   And then Marlena said that that made sense   because Everett wouldn’t have any memories   of what Bobby witnessed.   – But oh, my God, if he’s still Bobby–

Then that means he really knows who killed Li Shin,   and he’s pretending to be Everett   so he can cover up the truth.

[dramatic music]   –

[laughter] This is incredible.

Yes, it is.   But, um–   – You know– you know, when “Body and Soul” was canceled,   it was like I was in a– a state of mourning   for these characters, and–

[soft dramatic music]   What’s that look on your face for?   I– I thought you said “Body and Soul” was ours.

Well, yes. It is.   But, well, there’s one major issue   that could make the whole deal just kind of unravel.

Oh, Kayla, I’ve had so many things wrong with me this year.   So, please, tell me this is nothing major.   I don’t– I don’t think I can take any more bad news.

OK, how about this?   The good news is that we caught this   before it turned into bad news,   and that makes it not that big a deal.

OK. All right. All right.   Then, well, what is it then?

It’s your cholesterol.   It’s moderately elevated.   And of concern is the LDL-C, which is also   known as the bad cholesterol.

Oh, I know LDL-C.   Big Mama’s been dealing with it for years.

Well, she’s been doing a good job managing it.   Look at her good health at her age.   What is she? She’s in her s?

She is .

There you go.   Mm-hmm.   Well, I would say that you have longevity genes, then.

Mm-hmm.

Lucky you.   But given your medical history–

I know, I know.   Elevated bad cholesterol increases your risk   for a heart attack or a stroke.

That’s very good, yes, correct.   And so we need to get that level down.   All right?

Yes, yes, OK.   But– you know, I know I can google it, of course,   but how do we do that?

Well, you start with a low-fat diet.   I brought you a brochure. You can read all about it.   And exercise, and there are medications.   Have you heard of statins? – Of course.   Of course. I’ve heard about statins.   Big Mama, she takes them every day.   But forget it.   I’m not taking any meds.   No way.

[soft dramatic music]

You won’t leave.

No.

OK, then I guess it’s time to call security.

Now, there’s no need for that.   What I was trying to say is I won’t leave   because you need me.

I beg your pardon?

Think about it.   When was the last time that you–   you slept or you ate?   You have so much on your plate right now.   You’re trying to get your business back on its feet.   You’re trying to get your life back in order   after all those months in prison.   And now you have to spend every free moment you have   here with your poor brother.   I can relieve you of that burden.   I could be your assistant.

I am in the middle of interviewing assistants.

Oh, well, I would offer my services for free.

For free? What’s the catch?

Well, there is no catch.   I told you, you’re my ultimate role model.   It would be my honor to serve you.   – Look, I really don’t have the time for this.

– Well, before you say no, just think about it.   I’m gonna go get you some coffee.   How do you like it, honey?

Half cup, extra hot, extra foam.

[sighs] You–   you broke up with Stephanie.   Why?   I mean, I thought that rekindling your relationship   with her was one of the main reasons   you wanted to be out– out of Bayview, wasn’t it?   – It was. It was.   And I– I really like Stephanie.   She’s a great person, you know?   But when I got out, I just–   I felt, um, overwhelmed, you know?

Like, I have so much going on at work,   and there’s– there’s therapy to focus on, obviously.

Ultimately, it just– it didn’t–   it didn’t seem fair to Stephanie, I guess,   to make her just, like, wait around until I’m–   until I’m mentally healthy.   You know?   Just didn’t seem fair.   And also, uh–

[nervous laugh] Sorry.   – Also? Also what?   – Also, I, um–   I was telling Jada this earlier,   but after my last session with you,   I do feel like I’m starting   to feel some of Bobby’s feelings.

– Really? – Yeah, really.   I just feel, um, I don’t know–   tougher, stronger.   That’s good, right?   – That could be a sign of progress.

Progress?   Yeah.   Yeah, progress, um, speaking of which,   I know that I’ve been really reluctant to–   to face everything that happened in my past, you know?   But you said that I need to deal with it   in order to get better, right?   I think I’m ready, Dr. Evans.   I think I’m finally ready.

Would you hypnotize me again?

If Bobby really does know something about   Li Shin’s murder, why would he bring it up to you   and then not tell you anything about it?   It doesn’t make any sense.

I know.   I know. It’s so strange, right?   But like I said earlier, he was stringing me along   up until I gave him an ultimatum, OK?   I told him that if he didn’t tell me everything   he knew, that he was never gonna see me again.

You don’t think he had anything to do   with Li Shin’s murder, do you?

Who knows?   You know, at one point, I thought that Bobby   could never hurt a fly.   But on the other hand, I also thought that   he would never be a liar either.   –

[chuckles]

[phone rings]

Oh, it’s the station.   Excuse me.   Yeah, Harry?

[eerie music]   No, do not give Everett Lynch any specifics   on the investigation of Rafe’s stabbing   and do not give him any leads either.   What?   He called three times?   No, no, no, no, no.   I can handle it.   OK, thanks.

[phone beeps]   What the hell is going on with him?

OK. Jada, um, I’m no detective here,   but just– just follow my thinking just for a second.

OK.

OK.   So Bobby’s desperate to get you back, right?   – Mm-hmm.   – And if he thinks that Rafe is the only thing   standing in his way, maybe he’s also desperate   to know the status of the investigation   into Rafe’s stabbing because–

Oh, my God.   Could he be the one who did it?

[dramatic music]

So what’s the problem?   – So you know how we were always concerned   about being able to get the original cast   to relocate to Salem, right?   – Well, we discussed that we could   recast some of the minor characters   with local actors. – Yeah.   Well, the producers told me that the three actresses   who play Cassandra, Charmaine, and Lorna   are not going to be able to come out here.   It’s impossible.   Um, two of them have contracted to other projects,   and another one is married to a makeup artist   who’s doing a show in LA,   and she just doesn’t want to relocate.   – Well, you know, why can’t we just fly them   out here when we need them?

Well, Abe, we don’t have the budget for that.   – Well, they’re the three female leads.   I mean, they’re– they’re iconic.   The– the fans have loved them for decades.   It– it wouldn’t be “Body and Soul” without them.

[soft dramatic music]

– I know it sounds crazy to think that–   that Bobby stabbed Rafe.   I mean, it’s a huge leap, right?   – Yeah, no, no.   Huge, huge leap.

[ominous music]   But–   – But what?   – I mean, the timing does kind of check out.   Rafe got stabbed after Bobby was released from Bayview.   I mean, granted, yeah, police officers   do have enemies, but, I mean,   there’s no obvious suspects here.   – Oh, man. Oh, wait a minute.   I– I did see Everett at his hotel room that day.   So depending on what time Rafe was stabbed,   it’s possible that I could– I could be Bobby’s alibi.   – Do you remember what time you went to the Salem Inn?   – Um, let me think.   I– I was at the hospital with my mom   when Marlena called, and she said that he was released,   and then I went over there straight away.   – Mm-hmm.   – Um, let’s see.   Yeah, she called me at :, and I was over there   in about  or  minutes.   – OK. Um, OK.   That was after I found Rafe in the cemetery.   Um, let me see.   Yeah, I called the ambulance at :,   nearly an hour before you saw him.   So that means that if Bobby does have an alibi,   you’re definitely not it.

Everett, let’s–   let’s start with the good memories, OK?   The ones you– you told me about the other day,   you know, your–   your mother.

Can you picture her?   – Yeah.

How old are you?

I had, uh, just had my fourth birthday.

And do you remember what you told me?

I said, um–   I said, “Why did you do it, Mom?”   – Do what?   – Why did you let him hurt me?   – Who?

Tell me who.

My father.   I, uh–   I see him with his big belt,   the big belt buckle.   I see him coming toward me.   No! Dad! No!   Stop!   Stop, dad! Stop!

[intense music]

Hey, Rafe.   I wonder if you can hear me.   I hope so.

[tender music]

I’ve been thinking so much about   when we had breakfast the other day.

You asked me about my life.   You were so sweet, caring.   Selfish me, I barely even asked you about yours.

Did I even tell you that I love you,   or how proud I am that you’re my brother?   ‘Cause I am.

You’re so kind and funny and sweet.

And you always believed in me, no matter how much   of a jerk I’ve been or how much I’ve disappointed you.

[sighs]

Please, please wake up, Rafe,   so you can help us   find out who did this to you,   and I can wipe that scum right off the face of the Earth.

– She drives me insane–   half-caf, extra hot, extra foam– diva bitch.   After I find a way to off her brother   so he can’t finger me,   that woman’s going to pay for what she did to Li Shin.

[spits]

[dramatic music]   – You don’t want to take medication?

Oh, Lord, I already take   the thyroid pills and the blood pressure.   No more, please.   – What if I told you that it’s not a pill   and the safety profiles really are excellent on this?   And I– it’s my opinion that the benefits   outweigh the risks.   – Ugh.

What is it?   – I just–   I just hate feeling like I’m crumbling from the inside out,   you know?   I thought my health problems were over.   – Well, I think if you take these preventative measures,   they will be over for quite some time.

Mm?   – Yeah.   – Well, if you put it that way, it’s–   Kayla, and I’m sorry I’m being so grumpy about this, you know,   and self-pitying.   I mean, how dare I complain, right?   I mean, not many people have been nearly   as lucky as I have been, you know, health-wise   or in every other way.   – You are lucky.   And you are important to a lot of people and loved by so many.   – Well, that’s kind of you to say.   And please don’t tell my husband about the hard time   I’ve been giving you about taking this medication,   please, because if you do, I’m sure he will lecture me.   – My lips are sealed.   But I think that he would really be proud of you   for contemplating this.   – Eh, I suppose.   But he’s been so preoccupied lately   about securing the rights to his soap opera   that sometimes he barely even notices me.   But, you know, at least gives him–   gives him something to do, you know,   instead of just moaning about it being canceled.

Well, I guess the only answer is to recast the show.   – What? All three leads at once?   What do you– you don’t want us to be   a pale imitation of the show.

Oh, no, yeah, no, we don’t.

Unless we reimagine the entire thing.   I don’t know.   Maybe “Body and Soul: the Next Generation,”   set it in the future somewhere or something like that?   – Then it wouldn’t be my show.

[soft dramatic music]   – OK, look, I understand that.   I really do.   We just have so much to talk about.   I mean, it’s really–   it can get daunting.   And casting is only part of it.   We need a casting director.   We need directors. We need writers.   We need crew.   We need craft services.

Craft services?   What’s that? – OK.   We have a big learning curve ahead of us.

Thank you, Connie.

Can I get you anything else?

I’m good.

Well, I sure hope your brother wakes up soon   so he can get back to work.   Hey, maybe he’ll catch his own assailant.   Wouldn’t that be something?   In the meantime, if you need anything at all,   anything– admin, errands, aura readings–   I’m your gal, morning, noon, or night.

Aura readings. Got it. Thank you.

All right, then.

Wait.   Before you go, I should tell you   that I took a look at your ideas.   – You did?   – Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much,   but I was kind of blown away.   – You were?   – Yeah, and your résumé is very impressive.   – Well, thank you.   – Truth is, I could actually use   someone like you right now–   on a trial basis, of course.

I am pinching myself.   Oh, I will prove my worth to you, Gabi DiMera.   I can’t wait to get started.   – OK, when you were in Bobby’s room,   you didn’t see any signs of blood or anything   like that, right?   Never mind.   You wouldn’t have kept that to yourself.   – No, I wouldn’t have.   But come to think of it, he was getting out   of the shower when I showed up.

[eerie music]   I just– I thought that he was cleaning up   after leaving Bayview,   but what if he was getting rid of evidence?   Or have I been reading way too many murder mysteries?   – Oh, my God.   Speaking of murder mysteries,   Bobby was reading one in Bayview.

He was? – Yeah.   And it’s obviously all speculation right now,   but I’ve had stranger theories turn out to be true.   – So how do we figure out if it is true?

– Three, two, one.   Everett, open your eyes.

[sobbing]   – Look at me.   Look at me.   You’re OK.   It’s safe.   You’re right here.   Tell me what happened.   –

[breathing heavily]   Sorry.   I haven’t remembered that until now.

[somber music]   My father, Robert Stein, he, uh–   he terrorized me.

And that must be why–   that must be why Bobby came out that day, to–   to protect me, and stayed until now.

– What do you mean, stayed until now?   – Well, I mean, now that   I remember everything,   I don’t need him to protect me anymore, do I?   I– I have his memories, you know, and his–   his feelings.

[laughs]   It’s like, um–   it’s like I’m a complete person now.

[laughs]   I mean, I should have done this months ago.   You– you encouraged me to, didn’t you?   But I was–   I was too scared.

[sighs]   But I should have listened to you   the first time because…

[sighs]   This is incredible.   I feel incredible, seriously.

[dramatic music]   I don’t know how I can ever thank you, Dr. Evans.

You’re a miracle worker.

[soft dramatic music]

Hello. Hello, Gabi.   – Mayor Price.   – Oh, I’m just–   I’m so sorry for what you’re going through.   – Thanks.   – You– did you just come from seeing your brother?   – I did. No change.

Oh, well, I’m praying for him.   All of us in Salem are.   And we will find whoever did this to him.   Justice will be served, I promise you that.   – Thank you.   – Uh, well, I do have a big learning curve   ahead of me. – No, we both do.   – But you have television experience.   – Oh, not on a scripted show, I don’t.   – Well, I may not have the experience,   but I make up for that with a lot of enthusiasm.

[laughter]   You know, I think we should hold off   on casting just for a minute.   And besides that, I know exactly   who should play Lorna DeLorean.

No, no, no, no, no.   Don’t look at me because I’m a producer, not an actor.   And even if I was tempted to play the part,   you would still have two more roles to cast.   – Ah, but I know exactly who should play   those roles too.

– Yeah?   – Got a minute? – I’m on a break.   I’m all yours. – Thank you.   I just wanted to talk to you about Everett Lynch.   I– I had an encounter with him this morning,   and it really left me quite troubled.   – Yeah, well, I just had a session with him   that also left me rather troubled.   – Right. He was on his way to see you.   Did– it didn’t go well?

No, I would say that it went well.   It went almost too well.

What do you mean?   – He appeared to have a major breakthrough,   one that I wouldn’t have expected for some time.   – Do you think he’s putting on an act?   –

[sighs] I don’t know exactly.   You know, he’s so intelligent,   and– and he’s so clever,   and he’s able to, I don’t know, take drastic measures   to secure his own self-preservation.

Anyway, if the session today was not as it seemed,   then I think I made a serious mistake   in releasing him from Bayview.

[eerie music]

[sighs]   Sorry, Commish.

I never meant for this to happen to you.   I mean, I knew Connie was kind of a wacko.   If I’d known she was gonna try to kill you,   I would have stopped her.

I’m a reporter.   I should have asked more questions.

See, I never meant for you to die.   I just wanted you out of the way…   so I could have Jada all to myself.

– I’d like to bring Bobby in for questioning,   but I’m gonna have to handle it very delicately.   In the meantime, don’t say anything about this to anyone.   – Of course not.

I mean, the last thing we need is for someone else   to know that we think that Everett is Bobby   and that he might be the one who stabbed Rafe.

[Brooke sighs]

Hope: You’re back.

Brooke: Yeah. We got sidetracked earlier talking about sheila. I still can’t believe that the police released her. It’s kind of sickening, actually. Anyway, I want to talk to you about something else.

Hope: Okay.

Brooke: Ridge and me.

Ridge: Sheila may still be a suspect.

Steffy: But they let her go.

Ridge: Because they couldn’t hold her.

Steffy: Finn says it’s lack of motive. But two people die at il giardino a couple days apart. Like, there’s no coincidence here.

Ridge: No, probably not, but they couldn’t prove anything.

Steffy: Okay, so if it’s not sheila, then who could have done it?

Poppy: You have questions about me?

Katie: Quite a few.

Poppy: Well, unfortunately, katie, you and I don’t know each other very well.

Katie: Yeah, I’m not sure bill knows you very well either. I’m gonna get the answers that I’m looking for, poppy. I won’t stop until I do. ‘Cause I don’t think bill has any idea what he’s gotten himself into.

Li: Bill. This is a surprise.

Bill: Well, I’m nothing if not full of surprises. I kept thinking I would run into you somewhere, li. You’ve been laying low?

Li: No. Just busy.

Bill: Well, I wanted to come by and thank you for everything. Running the paternity test, making sure it was done correctly. I’m so damn happy to have luna as my daughter.

Li: I was glad to help.

Li: You’re exactly the kind of father my niece deserves, bill.

Bill: I love luna very much.

Li: So do I. You’ll be a good influence in her life.

[Bill chuckles]

Bill: Well, she’s already been very impactful on mine. I, uh–I feel–I don’t know– just somehow different, as a man, as a father.

[Chuckles] Liam says I’m becoming a “girl dad.”

[Li laughs] All I know is I want to keep my family close. That’s more important to me than ever. Spencers stick together. We have each other’s backs. Now, it may be a bit old-fashioned wanting to bring my people together. But now that luna and poppy are family, that means that you are as well.

Li: Bill, you don’t know what that means to me.

Katie: You can make this a whole lot easier. Just tell me what I want to know.

Poppy: Katie, my relationship with bill has nothing to do with you.

Katie: Well, he is my son’s father, and he’s a big part of my life. So if you suspected that bill could be luna’s father, I’ll ask again. Why did you wait over 20 years to let the truth come out?

Brooke: You know about monte carlo, the global fashion summit.

Hope: Yes. It’s going to be quite the event.

Brooke: Yes. Ridge is planning a big splash. He wants me to help announce that I’m going to be the face of the bedroom line once again. Well, not just the face. I mean, it is lingerie, after all.

Hope: This is fantastic. Oh, my gosh.

Brooke: Yeah.

Hope: Wait. You don’t–you don’t agree?

Steffy: Ugh. I can’T. I don’t want to talk about sheila anymore.

Ridge: Well, then let’s not. No more sheila. Done.

Steffy: I didn’t mean to snap like that.

Ridge: It’s okay. Move past it. Let’s talk about something else.

Steffy: Yeah. I actually want to talk to you about something work-related.

Ridge: Work-related? Okay, good. Yes. Let’s talk couture.

Steffy: Dad, why would you make brooke the spokesperson for the bedroom line? (America ferrera) yoplait is america’s favorite

Li: You’ve already done so much for me–saving my life.

Bill: I did what anybody would.

Li: Not true, but I appreciate your attempt at modesty, even though it’s not really your style.

Bill: I was just in the right place at the right time, that’s all.

Li: You brought a complete stranger into your home, bill.

Bill: Well, you’re not a stranger anymore. You’re my daughter’s aunt.

Li: I’m so relieved luna’s father is such a good man. I owe you so much.

Bill: Then you wouldn’t mind doing me a favor. I know that you and your sister have had your issues in the past, but I would really like it if you and poppy got along.

[Li scoffs]

Li: Just a little favor, huh?

Bill: Would it hurt to try?

Li: We’ve never been able to do it before.

Bill: You never had me before.

Li: So this is you pulling people together, being old-fashioned.

[Bill chuckles]

Bill: I meant what I said about family being important to me. If there’s anything that I can do to help you and your sister heal your differences, you can count on me. You’re one of us now.

Poppy: Bill understands why I couldn’t say anything.

Katie: But you didn’t just keep it from bill. You kept the secret from your daughter for her entire life.

Poppy: Luna is happy, katie. Everyone’s happy. Everyone’s happy except you.

Katie: I just think it’s odd. You know, you’ve had this secret. You’ve kept it for over 20 years. You refused to tell your daughter who her father is. You denied it when bill asked you if it could be him, and then out of nowhere, you– you what? You change your mind. You get a paternity test done after all this time, time that luna could have known her father, time that bill could have spent with his daughter.

Poppy: It was time that I needed.

Katie: But why? For what? No. No. Something doesn’t add up here, and I’m gonna find out what it is.

Hope: Well, you can’t be surprised. I mean, ridge has wanted to revamp the bedroom line for a while now.

Brooke: I just didn’t picture myself as the spokesperson.

Hope: Oh, why not? It’s your line.

Brooke: It was a long time ago.

Hope: Well, I think it is a great idea. I think of the message you would be sending about timeless beauty and that a woman can feel confident and sexy at every age. I think it’s exciting.

Brooke: Well, I am flattered. And everything ridge was saying was so sweet. I am interested. But am I the right fit for that demographic? Lingerie.

Hope: Well, you wear it, don’t you?

Brooke: Yes.

Hope: And you are as gorgeous as ever.

[Brooke laughs]

Brooke: Honey, that is so sweet. I appreciate your support. Really, I do. I’m not fishing for compliments. I’m just having qualms about wearing lingerie in front of a camera.

Hope: Well, I think anyone would be nervous about that. But, mom, I mean, you say it makes you feel sexy and confident, and maybe that could be a way for you to help other women feel sexy and confident, too. I’m just saying, think about it. You can always tell ridge no. I personally am hoping you will say yes.

Brooke: I already did.

Hope: Wha–oh, my god!

[Both laughing] Congratulations.

Brooke: Oh, thank you.

Steffy: I was here, dad. I was here when you pitched this to brooke. I saw the video. You wanted her to be the spokesperson.

Ridge: I know. I know you weren’t thrilled about it.

Steffy: Of course I’m not thrilled about it. I’m co-ceo. You need to consult me on these things.

Ridge: I did consult you. I told you we’re gonna retool the line. I told you that.

Steffy: Okay. Bringing brooke on, that’s not a relaunch, dad. That’s a flashback. And honestly, that’s something I really don’t want to flashback to.

Ridge: Oh, so this isn’t about business at all. This is about family history.

Steffy: No, it is about business, okay? I’m asking you from a business standpoint, why brooke? Like, there are so many beautiful models in this building. There are so many celebrities who would sign on. Why brooke?

Ridge: She is more beautiful than she ever was, and everyone around the world loves her. That’s why.

Steffy: You unilaterally brought brooke into the executive team, and I had zero say. You want to push brooke to be the lead model? The line is already profitable. I’m sorry, dad. I think you are making a huge mistake. When you purchase a pair of bombas socks,

Bill: There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you, li.

Li: I owe you far more than you owe me.

Bill: You’ve helped give me a daughter. You’re under the spencer umbrella now.

Bill: What’s going on?

Li: I’m sorry. I’m just–I’m just so relieved my niece has you in her life. The way you’re so proud and happy to be her father. That’s what a family should look like. I think of mine and…[Sighs] All the grueling hours I put in, all the hard work, all the years. Then my… marriage was destroyed by a lie. Sheila’s affair with my husband. A secret he kept for decades.

Bill: Jack let you down. I won’T. Ask my boys. Family is my priority. Now I have a daughter… due in large part to you.

Li: Bill, you saved my life. That’s the least I could do to repay you.

Ridge: Putting brooke front and center will send an empowering message to women all over the world.

Steffy: You’re not doing this to expand the demographic. You want to do this for brooke. I mean everything. It’s brooke, brooke, brooke.

Hope: I can’t believe you already said yes.

Brooke: I got swept up in the moment. Ridge was saying all these wonderful things about me, and he got me revved up about the idea and saying what a difference I could make.

Hope: Wow. That’s because you will.

Brooke: He is launching a global campaign. How could I possibly say no?

Hope: Oh, my gosh. It’s so exciting, mom. I mean, it will be amazing. You will be amazing. I am beyond thrilled for you, mom. Really I am. Just try not to overthink it, okay? Just be your wonderful self.

Brooke: Oh. Thank you, sweetheart.

Poppy: Who is she to question me like that? The nerve coming into my home, ask me questions. “I’m gonna find the answers. I’ve got questions.”

Luna: Mom? Hi. What’s wrong?

Poppy: It is nothing for you to worry about, sweetheart.

Luna: Okay. But you seem upset. So what happened?

Poppy: I just had another run-in with bill’s ex-wife.

[Knocking]

Katie: Hey.

Li: Katie. Hi.

Katie: Hi. Um, do you have a minute?

Li: Sure. Come on in. What can I do for you?

Katie: I just came from bill’s, and I had another unpleasant experience with your sister, and I was wondering if you could help me with it.

[Instructor] Hold it! Hold it!

Luna: What happened with katie?

Poppy: Oh, that infuriating woman. Just so judgmental and just sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong.

Luna: Oh, my goD. What did she say to you?

Poppy: It doesn’t matter, okay? It’s nothing for you to worry about. You just enjoy this new life that you’re sharing with bill.

Luna: I am. And I love it, mom.

Poppy: I do, too. And I will do whatever it takes to keep it.

Li: You want me to help you with penelope?

Katie: I understand the two of you aren’t close.

Li: We haven’t been for a while.

Katie: Can I ask you about that?

Li: It’s no secret. I don’t like the way she’s lived her life. She refuses to try to make it on her own. She’s always relied on the generosity of wealthy older men.

Katie: So you’re pretty much calling her a gold digger.

Li: Yeah, I’m trying to put that behind me.

Katie: But you have concerns. So do I actually. Which is why I have to ask you.

Li: What?

Katie: You did the paternity test for bill and luna. Is there any chance, any chance at all that… the test could be wrong?

Hope: Well, I think this is going to be great for you and the line.

Brooke: Thank you, honey. I appreciate your support. I do.

Hope: Well, I’m not going to be the only one behind you. It sounds like ridge is all for it.

Ridge: Right. Yes. His idea.

Hope: And it is one that is going to pay off big time.

[Brooke sighs]

Brooke: I just wish I had your confidence.

Hope: Well, where do you think I got it from? Mom, you come alive in the spotlight. It’s a gift. You generate all of this buzz and electricity. It is marvelous to watch. And I know that brooke’s bedroom and the relaunch is going to be a huge success.

Brooke: I’m glad you think so.

[Sighs] But I know somebody who’s not going to be so excited.

Hope: Steffy.

Steffy: Revamping the line means going forward. You want to go backwards.

Ridge: The bedroom line is part of the forrester legacy. And so, by the way, is brooke.

Steffy: I can see that you’re really excited about this.

Ridge: I am excited about it. I am. I haven’t been this excited in a long time. I’m excited to design for couture. I’m excited about this line being relaunched and about this amazing, empowering message that we’re sending out into the world. Women can be who they want to be right now.

Steffy: I–I get that. And I think that’s something forrester needs to stand behind. But I think it’s going to be lost if brooke is the spokesperson.

Ridge: She’d be a perfect spokesperson for this.

Steffy: No, the spotlight will be on brooke and not the message. Look, I know you want to put brooke front and center because she is your logan. She’s always been your logan. Nothing new there.

[Sighs]

Ridge: I’m really sorry. I’m sorry that the family breakup is still hurting you.

Steffy: So you agree you’re elevating brooke.

Ridge: No, I’m not– no, I’m not elevating anybody. It’s–she has made a lot of contributions to this company without me.

Steffy: Yeah, yeah. She tore her family apart.

Ridge: Oh, my goodness. What are you–[Sighs] What do you think happened? Do you think she hit me over the head with a club and started dragging me to a cave? No. I left your mother. I did that. So if you want to be mad at somebody, be mad at me. Or even better, don’t be mad at anybody. Whatever resentment you have, just try to get past that. Not for me or for brooke. For you. Can you try and do that? Steffy, I love you so much. I’m so proud of you. You gotta know that. Everything you’re doing here, the work you’re doing is amazing. The way you fight for your family, the way you fight for your marriage. You get up every day and you grab life by the throat. I’ve never seen anything like it. You-you-you’re the most intense woman I’ve ever seen. So I know you can get past this. I know you can. Because this whole forrester versus logan, that’s gone. That’s done.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

Ava goes to the DiMera office where Kristen informs her that she heard about her encounter at the Brady Pub last night and questions why she didn’t tell her about it.

Gabi goes to her bedroom where Stefan is sleeping. Stefan wakes up so Gabi apologizes if she woke him and explains that she just needed to get her rosary before heading back to the hospital to be with Rafe. Stefan asks how Rafe is doing. Gabi says he’s still in a coma. Gabi goes to leave but Stefan stops her and says they need to talk.

Jada sits at Rafe’s side in the hospital. Kayla comes in and suggests Jada go home to get some rest but Jada says she’s okay. Kayla encourages that Rafe wouldn’t want her to sit there 24/7. Jada responds that she’s afraid of leaving his side. Kayla insists that Rafe is a fighter. Jada worries about the machines still breathing for him with no sign that he’s getting any better. Jad asks Kayla to be honest with her about the chances that Rafe will ever wake up.

Connie sits at home with her vision of Li Shin. Connie talks about using gloves when she stabbed Rafe so no one will ever know it was her. Her vision of Li then warns her that if Rafe ever wakes up, she’s screwed.

Bobby sits at the Brady Pub, reading the Spectator article about Rafe being in a coma after being stabbed. Bobby tells himself that he’s sorry as he didn’t think crazy Connie would take it this far but there’s nothing he can do about it now. Bobby declares that he shouldn’t waste this golden opportunity to get closer to Jada and that he should probably get to the hospital now but Stephanie arrives and greets “Everett.” He says he didn’t see her there while she says she couldn’t help but overhear him saying he’s heading to the hospital. He claims he has a therapy appointment with Marlena. Stephanie asks how that is going. He claims to be making a ton of progress. Stephanie says she’s glad to hear that. He tells her not to get too excited because they are not getting back together. Stephanie says she didn’t think that. He says he just didn’t want any confusion and that he should get going as he then hurries out of the Pub, leaving Stephanie confused.

Kayla wishes she could give Jada a definitive answer but says there is no real way of knowing when Rafe will wake up. Jada worries about the longer he is in a coma. Kayla encourages that Rafe has been through this before and made a full recovery. Jada notes that Rafe never mentioned that to her. Kayla says it was many years ago when Rafe was attacked and almost killed. Kayla says things looked dire but Rafe has a strong spirit. Kayla adds that there’s no reason to think he won’t come back to them. Jada hopes she’s right and says Rafe has a lot left to do in this world.

Gabi tells Stefan that she doesn’t have the energy for another fight. Stefan says he doesn’t want to fight and wants her to stop pushing him away. Gabi asks him to please move. Stefan refuses and says he didn’t say a word when she told him not to come to the hospital last night or when she decided to move out of their room. Stefan tells Gabi to stop being so stubborn and let him be there for her. Gabi asks if he’s not still mad about her revealing the truth about Jude since he said she may have started another war with EJ. Stefan declares that none of that matters now that her brother is fighting for his life. Stefan asks Gabi to let him help her through this. Stefan knows how scared she must be. Gabi admits that she’s scared of losing Rafe as Stefan hugs her.

Ava tells Kristen that she knew she should’ve said something to her. Kristen argues that she owes it to her. Ava asks how she found out anyway. Kristen reveals that Gabi left her a message that she ran in to her at the Pub and pitched the idea of reviving Gabi Chic at DiMera. Ava realizes it’s about that and not Brady. Kristen questions why Ava didn’t tell her about it. Ava calls it a terrible idea and reminds Kristen that she slept with Gabi’s husband while she was in prison. Kristen points out that Gabi doesn’t know about that. Ava argues that Gabi still hates her so there’s no way she’s going to stand side by side with her. Kristen tells her that’s actually exactly what she’s going to do. Kristen calls Gabi Chic a valuable asset that will give them a chance to compete with Basic Black. Ava guesses it’s about Brady then but Kristen claims it has nothing to do with Brady as unlike Ava, she doesn’t let her personal feelings get in the way of a good business decision. Kristen tells Ava that she will have to suck it up and work with the woman whose husband she slept with. Kristen wants Ava to track Gabi down and get her to sign with them today, before she changes her mind. Ava thinks Gabi has more important things on her mind right now, like the fact that her brother is in a coma.

Gabi tells Stefan that she’s used to Rafe being the big strong hero and her protector, but now he’s just lying in the bed, helpless. Stefan asks if the cops have any idea who did this to him. Gabi says not yet, but she just keeps thinking about how he was stabbed in the back. Stefan points out that it’s like Li. Gabi says that makes her think about if there’s a connection. Stefan points out that Gil Carter is dead and asks how that could be. Gabi then informs Stefan that Everett Lynch’s alter, Bobby claims it wasn’t Gil. Stefan questions him telling the truth. Gabi doesn’t know but declares that if he is, that means the person who murdered Li is still out there. Stefan brings up all the evidence pointing to Gil Carter and that being used to get Gabi cleared and that Rafe himself believed the evidence. Stefan suggests it could just be a horrible coincidence. Gabi says that all she knows is she just wants her big brother back as Stefan hugs her. Gabi thanks Stefan and admits she’s been trying to push him away, but says it feels really good to have him here with her. Stefan promises that he’ll always be there for her, whenever she needs him. Gabi then tells Stefan to make love to her as they kiss.

Jada remains at Rafe’s side and tells him that she’s going to need him to get better. Jada talks about being impatient and she knows Rafe deserves a little rest, but repeats she will need him to wake up, not just for her but for everyone at the department, his friends and family. Jada wants Rafe to know that the whole community is praying for him and she hopes that he can feel that. Jada hopes Rafe knows how much she loves him. Jada talks about the past few months being the happiest she’s ever been and she’s not ready to lose that as they have a whole lifetime of happiness ahead of them. Jada cries for Rafe to please wake up, so she can hold him again and he can help her find the person who hurt him. Bobby then enters the room and sees Jada crying at Rafe’s side.

Connie tells her vision of Li that Rafe is barely hanging on, so she doubts he’ll make some miraculous comeback. Her vision of Li asks what if he does. Connie states that she came up from behind so he didn’t see her. Her vision of Li states that she’s being awfully cold about this when an innocent man is in a coma and she’s just going about her day with no remorse. Connie questions what she was supposed to do since Bobby was going to tell Jada what she did to Li, so it was the only way to stop him. Her vision of Li asks what if Bobby doesn’t hold up his end of the bargain.

Kristen tells Ava that Gabi is very upset about Rafe, but they both know she has no problem setting aside her emotions to get what she wants. Kristen knows they have their issues and that Ava feels guilty about sleeping with her husband but if she wants this job, she’s going to have to get over it. Ava then agrees to go talk to Gabi and make her an offer. Kristen reveals that she already drew up a contract. Ava repeats that she still thinks it’s a terrible idea but Kristen doesn’t care. Kristen then orders Ava to track down Gabi and get her to sign on the dotted line.

Gabi and Stefan lay in bed after having sex. Gabi guesses now is a good time to say she’s sorry about the whole mess with EJ. Stefan asks how he knows she actually means that. Gabi states that she’s not sorry that Eric got his kid back and admits it was very satisfying to screw EJ over for sending her to prison, but she is sorry that she betrayed Stefan’s trust. Stefan accepts her apology and says he’s sorry for getting so mad at her. Gabi feels he had every right to be mad. Stefan says not after how long they were apart and he almost lost her for good. Stefan says he shouldn’t have let something like that come between them. Gabi understands he was hurt and she doesn’t blame him. Gabi says when it comes to other people, they can lie, cheat, and steal but they need to be able to trust each other. Gabi holds Stefan’s hand and swears to never keep secrets from him ever again. Gabi declares that from now on, it’s honesty and trust as they continue kissing.

Kayla joins Stephanie at the Brady Pub and says it sounds like she missed quite a wedding. Stephanie points out that it was two weddings. Kayla can’t believe Theresa pulled off that scheme as she really thought she had changed. Stephanie thought so too and brings up how Theresa treated Alex. Kayla asks how Alex is. Stephanie says he’s a mess. Kayla asks if she saw him after everything. Stephanie confirms that she followed him after the whole mess to try and comfort him but she didn’t think it did much good. Kayla points out that they have a history. Stephanie assures that history is all it is. Kayla guesses that she and Everett are back together now that he’s out of Bayview but Stephanie reveals that’s actually history too.

Bobby enters Rafe’s hospital room, pretending to be Everett, and says he heard the news about Rafe so he wanted to tell her how sorry he is. Jada calls that kind of him. He asks how Rafe is doing. Jada responds that he’s not good and the doctors aren’t sure if he will ever wake up. Bobby calls that terrible and asks if the police has any leads on who could’ve done this. Jada says forensics are analyzing the knife but other than that, they don’t have much to go on. Bobby tells her to let him know if he can help at all and offers to put a team of journalists from the Spectator to try and dig it up. Jada thanks him but thinks it’s best to let the police handle this. Bobby tells her that he has the full support of the newspaper and his as well if he can do anything for her.

Connie questions what reason Bobby would have to double cross her. Her vision of Li suggests he could use it to get closer to Jada. He warns that her plan could blow up in her face. Connie says she appreciates his concern, especially since she’s the reason he’s dead, but says she isn’t worried and that Bobby will be careful around Jada. He asks what if Jada figures out Bobby is faking. Connie assures that she won’t. He points out that if she did, Bobby would have no reason not to throw her under the bus.

Jada appreciates “Everett’s” offer to help but admits she’s a bit confused by it since they barely know each other. He says that he was in a coma for a year, so he has a lot of sympathy for the situation. Jada says he has a lot going on to get his life back on track. He talks about continuing therapy with Marlena and claims the integration process has been really successful so far. Jada says that’s great. He says he doesn’t fully understand it yet but he’s starting to feel like Bobby is becoming part of who he is. Jada questions that happening already. He’s sure he has a long way to go but feels like he’s starting to remember some of Bobby’s life. Jada asks if he has any memories on the murder of Li Shin. He says that Jada mentioned that before. Jada brings up Bobby claiming to have information on the death of Li Shin. He then claims not to know anything about that. Jada tells him to let her know if something comes back to him. He then clarifies that by remembering Bobby’s life, he’s starting to feel what Bobby is feeling, especially when it comes to Jada.

Kayla tells Stephanie that she’s sorry as she knows how excited she was about Everett coming back. Stephanie feels she was foolish since she was all set to tell him that she was ready for a serious relationship but he’s not. Kayla understands if he wants to focus on his mental health. Stephanie says she fully supports that but it still hurts. Stephanie calls Everett a great guy and says she’s really going to miss him even if it seems he won’t miss her because he seemed thrilled to be getting rid of her. Kayla questions what she is talking about. Stephanie informs Kayla that before she got there, she ran in to “Everett” and he was so dismissive and cold.

Stefan joins Kristen at the DiMera office and talks about his savvy negotiations, comparing it to Stefano. Kristen tells him to leave before his ego gets any bigger. Stefan says he will leave since he doesn’t want to run in to Ava. Kristen tells him not to worry since Ava is off trying to convince Gabi to bring Gabi Chic back to DiMera which surprises Stefan.

Ava goes to the hospital to find Gabi. Ava knows it’s a really bad time as she’s sorry about Rafe. Gabi asks if she means she’s sorry she’s not the one who did it. Ava says she knows things ended badly between them but she cared deeply about Rafe and would never wish this on him. Gabi asks what she wants. Ava says if she has a few minutes, she’d like to talk business as she talked it over with Kristen and they decided they would love to have Gabi’s brand back in DiMera. Gabi guesses she was right to go over Ava’s head and that Kristen forced Ava to come to her which couldn’t have been easy for her. Ava says they completely understand if she needs to concentrate on Rafe right now, but it’s a standing offer if she’d like to take a few months before jumping in. Gabi calls that considerate but says they don’t know when Rafe will wake up so jumping back in with Gabi Chic would be a welcome distraction. Gabi adds that one of the last things Rafe said to her was that she needs to get her life back together, almost like he gave her his blessing. Ava says that’s great as Gabi asks if she has a contract for her to sign. Ava presents the contract to Gabi, which she says seems surprisingly fair. Ava says that Kristen is eager to get her back in the fold and tells her that she can have her lawyer look it over if she wants. Gabi says she worked with plenty of contracts like this when she was CEO of DiMera and it seems pretty standard. Ava wants to make sure Gabi knows how much work it’s going to take to get her brand up and running again. Gabi asks if Ava is trying to talk her out of this. Ava says not at all and repeats that Kristen is eager to have her on board which means she is too. Ava states that she just doesn’t want Gabi to sign and then have regrets when the workload starts to come in, especially since she will have to be juggling Rafe’s medical needs. Gabi guesses that Ava worries she might not be up for it but says she handled all the pressure of running DiMera, so she can handle Gabi Chic. Gabi then signs the contract and says it’s a deal. Gabi knows Ava has her doubts but promises that neither of them will regret working together.

Stefan questions Kristen saying that Gabi and Ava are going to be working together. Kristen confirms that’s the plan. Stefan asks why the hell she would do that. Kristen says it was Gabi’s idea to restart Gabi Chic at DiMera. Stefan complains that Gabi didn’t realize she would be working the woman who slept with her husband. Kristen argues that Gabi doesn’t know about that and Ava won’t tell her. Stefan questions why Kristen moved forward with it. Kristen calls it good for business. Stefan asks if she’s sure about that or if it’s her way of getting back at him and Gabi.

Kayla encourages Stephanie not to take “Everett’s” behavior personally since it’s probably just disorienting to be back. Stephanie agrees that she shouldn’t take it personally or complain. Stephanie says she’s glad that Everett is himself again as he deserves to live a life that he chooses for himself. Kayla says she’s so proud of her. Stephanie thanks her. Kayla realizes her break is over and suggests they have a girls night tonight since Steve is still in Greece so Stephanie can come over and watch a movie with popcorn and ice cream. Stephanie agrees so Kayla says she’ll see her in a bit as she exits the Pub.

Jada questions if “Everett” is suggesting that he’s developing feelings for her. He says that he knows Bobby really cared about her so he guesses he’s starting to feel that affection and he just wanted to come offer his support as a friend. Jada says she’s sorry if she misunderstood. He calls it a very confusing situation. Jada says the important thing is he’s getting healthy. He says that means a lot coming from her. Jada decides she’s starving so she is going to get takeout. He offers to pick something up for her but Jada says she could use the fresh air. He tells her to call if she needs anything since he’s trying to stay busy now that he’s alone. Jada asks what about Stephanie. “Everett” tells her that they are sadly not seeing each other anymore. Jada says she’s sorry to hear that. He says it’s for the best and he’ll see her around as he then exits.

Connie says she’s been ruminating about Bobby and that he could end up being a liability. Her vision of Li asks what she’s going to do about it. Connie guesses if it comes to it, she’ll have to get Bobby out of the way just like she did to Rafe.

Kristen questions why she’d want to get back at Stefan and Gabi. Stefan suggests maybe the way they stole their DiMera shares. Kristen states they made it look like she was abusing her own daughter and admits she was very upset about it, but they can let all that go because now they have a mutual disdain to bond over in EJ. Stefan is glad they’ll always have something to bond over. Kristen tells him to let go of his paranoia and know that she’s not out to get he and Gabi. Kristen jokes that she won’t spill the beans about his one night stand as she wouldn’t do that to Ava. Ava then walks in and asks what about her. Kristen says she was just filling Stefan in on how Ava will be working with Gabi. Ava presents Kristen with the contract and declares that it’s a done deal.

Stephanie runs in to Jada outside the Brady Pub and says she’s so sorry about Rafe and asks how she’s holding up. Jada says she’s hanging in there and asks how Stephanie is since she ran in to “Everett” and he told her they broke up. Stephanie confirms they did but she’s surprised he told her about that considering all she is going through. Jada admits that he was acting very weird. Stephanie asks what she means. Jada says that he just wasn’t acting like himself at all. They then agree that it’s possible that “Everett” isn’t really Everett.

“Everett” runs in to Kayla at the hospital. Kayla says she’s so glad to hear about his breakthrough and asks if he has a minute to talk about her daughter since Stephanie told her that they aren’t seeing each other anymore. He says he has to focus on his recovery. Kayla talks about how Stephanie was very upset about how dismissive he was earlier and she cares about him. Kayla hoped he would be a little more sensitive to her feelings. Bobby then remarks that she’s absolutely right that it is none of her business.

Connie sneaks in to Rafe’s hospital room and reaches towards his machines but Gabi walks in and questions what she is doing in there.

Days of Our Lives Update

Days of Our Lives logo

Update written by Joseph

As Maggie officiates Xander and Sarah’s wedding, she asks if anyone objects. Xander’s mother, Fiona Cook, then arrives and declares that she’s sorry she’s late, surprising everyone in attendance. Fiona approaches Xander and comments on him being so handsome and grown up. Xander comments on her missing a decade of his life. Theresa looks worried while Leo watches on with excitement. Fiona declares to Xander that at long last they are all together now. Bonnie looks on with a big smile. Andrew comments to Paul that Xander’s mother sure knows how to make an entrance while Paul texts Brady to ask if he’s OK.

Brady sits at the Brady Pub with a drink at his table but texts Paul that he just got to a meeting.

Xander questions Fiona why she didn’t tell them she was coming. She explains that she was traveling when she got the invitation and sent an RSVP but when she realized it wouldn’t make it in time, she just hopped on a plane and is thrilled to be here. Xander then introduces his mom to Dr. Sarah Horton. Sarah tells Fiona that he’s so happy to meet her and she’s very glad she’s there. Fiona responds that she wouldn’t have missed this for the world. Sarah repeats that they are so happy she’s there to celebrate their special day and that it means a lot to them. Xander then introduces Fiona to her granddaughter, Victoria. Fiona guesses she’s named after Victor which Xander confirms. Fiona supposes that’s appropriate and calls her a lovely child. Theresa watches on uncomfortably. Maggie then greets Fiona as her other grandmother. Sarah introduces Fiona to Maggie, who mentions that she is also Victor’s widow. Fiona says she’s sorry for her loss as she and Victor were close many years ago. Maggie brings up Fiona being married to Victor’s brother. Theresa then interrupts and asks if they can catch up later so they can get on with the wedding.

Ava goes to the Brady Pub and runs in to Brady. Ava says she’s grateful that Kristen gave her a job but after an entire day of spreadsheets, she could really use a drink. Ava then stops and tells Brady that she thought he didn’t drink. Brady responds that he doesn’t.

Theresa introduces herself to Fiona as Theresa Donovan. Leo quickly points out that she should mean Theresa Kiriakis and informs Fiona that Theresa just married Victor’s son which Fiona questions and asks if he is Philip. Alex introduces himself as Victor’s other son. Fiona is confused as she thought Bo was Victor’s only other son, but says she’s been out of the loop for years. Alex tells Fiona not to worry about as he just found out he was Victor’s son after he died and thought he was his nephew for all his life. Fiona asks about how this revelation came to light. Theresa interrupts again and asks why it matters. Alex questions her hurry. Theresa claims she just wants to get on with the double wedding so they can get to the celebration. Fiona apologizes for bringing everything to a crashing halt. Sarah tells her it’s okay. Fiona states that after been gone for so many years, she has so many questions about the Kiriakis family. Alex explains that after the reading of Victor’s will, they found a letter from his mother naming him as Victor’s son which Fiona questions as Theresa looks annoyed. Fiona questions Alex learning he was Victor’s son from a letter which Alex confirms. Fiona asks if he still has the letter. Alex asks why she asks. Theresa asks Maggie to just get on with the ceremony but Fiona says this can’t wait. Xander questions what this is all about. Fiona responds that she’s sorry to tell him this on such a joyous occasion, but his cousin Alex is a fraud, shocking those in attendance.

Ava asks Brady if he wants her to call someone like his sponsor. Brady says that would be Maggie and she’s busy officiating her daughter’s wedding. Ava asks if Brady didn’t want to go. Brady says he went but he left at the half since it was a double wedding with Xander and Sarah, then his ex-wife Theresa and his newly discovered uncle, Alex Kiriakis. Brady says he watched Theresa and Alex get hitched and then got out of there. Brady decides they deserve a toast as he continues drinking. Ava is thinking Brady is very much not happy and asks if he wants to talk about it.

Theresa tells Fiona that her husband is not a fraud. Xander asks what this is about and what Fiona is trying to do. Fiona responds that she’s trying to stop a travesty of justice as they have all been fooled by this man. Alex says he has no idea what she’s talking about, but Fiona thinks he does. Fiona explains that Alex has been posing as Victor’s son but it’s all a lie. Justin argues that they all saw the letter. Sonny adds that Victor wanted Alex to know the truth. Fiona demands Alex show her the letter. Xander worries that she’s making a scene. Fiona says if he’s not hiding anything, he will let her see it. Justin then reveals that he has the letter and hands it to Fiona, explaining that Anjelica wrote it to Victor not long after Alex was born. Fiona reads the letter and says Anjelica may well be Alex’s mother, but she assures that she did not write this letter. Justin questions how she knows that. Fiona then reveals that she is the one who wrote the letter. Justin questions Fiona saying she wrote the letter which she confirms. Fiona says she wrote it and sent it to Victor. Alex argues that it has nothing to do with her as it’s about he and his parents. Xander questions what Fiona is doing. Fiona calls it something she should’ve done many years ago but she was ashamed. Maggie tells her to just say what she’s trying to say. Fiona is sorry it has to come out like this but reveals that many years ago, while married to Titus, she slept with Victor and got pregnant. Leo exclaims that now it’s a Salem wedding. Xander questions Fiona getting pregnant with Victor which she confirms. Fiona explains that she didn’t want Titus to know that she betrayed him, so she wrote Victor a letter in private, informing him of his son, Alexander. Alex says that is him while Justin adds that is the name he was given at birth. Fiona says that’s true but it’s also the name she gave Xander. Bonnie interrupts to say they’ve all seen the letter signed by Anjelica. Fiona says when she wrote the letter, she signed it herself so someone else must have changed the signature later. Alex argues that this can’t be right. Fiona questions how they obtained this letter. Justin explains that it was in a briefcase with Victor’s personal belongings which was returned to them by the ISA. Fiona asks if someone else could’ve had access to the briefcase. Paul looks to Andrew while Alex turns to look at Theresa.

Ava doesn’t think Brady should be drinking but says she’s not his sponsor or his mother and the last person who should lecture anyone on the choices they make. Brady tells her that she can’t stop him and gives her a drink on him. Ava guesses that since Brady is here instead of at the wedding reception, he still has feelings for his ex. Brady responds that he didn’t think he did and he thought he was over her, but she lured him in to bed when she was on the outs with Alex and reminded him of how good they used to be. Brady states that he slept with Theresa and it was the first time in a long time, but then the morning came and everything changed as Alex came crawling back in so Theresa kicked his ass to the curb. Ava tells Brady that she’s sorry as that sucks. Brady blames himself for falling prey to Theresa’s BS. Ava isn’t sure it will make him feel any better but says she has her own doomed love story. Brady tells her to tell him a Harris story. Ava explains that she thought they were going somewhere but he was going right out of town. Brady declares that love makes fools of them all which they toast to.

Alex accuses Theresa as she had access to the letter in Greece because her father left Victor’s briefcase in the room with her and she was alone while he and Brady were out looking for answers about Victor’s death. Alex demands the truth from Theresa. Theresa calls it crazy. Alex shouts that she’s crazy and asks if Brady was right that Theresa opened the briefcase and didn’t find a letter that said he was Victor’s heir. Xander points out that the letter said Alexander. Alex says she made it look like that Alexander was him. Theresa denies it. Alex yells at her to tell the truth for once in her life and asks if she changed the letter. Theresa then breaks down and admits that she changed the letter. Alex states that she made him and everyone else believe that he was Victor’s son and questions how she could do that. Xander calls it obvious. Alex tells Theresa to explain herself. Theresa then explains that when Shane left, she was alone with the briefcase and got curious so she opened it and found Fiona’s letter. Theresa says she realized the circumstances of the letter fit Alex just as much as Xander, so all it took was changing a signature. Xander calls her sick while Sarah asks if she really hated Xander that much. Theresa responds that she was afraid of Xander being that rich and powerful and the damage he could cause. Xander shouts at her wanting to talk about damage. Alex questions this being more about punishing Xander than it was about him. Theresa says it wasn’t like that so Alex asks how it was. Alex says they all want to know how she did it and questions her being some expert in forgery or if somebody helped her. Theresa admits she had help. Justin questions her finding a forger in Greece on short notice. Alex points out that they weren’t gone that long, so he asks how she found somebody. Theresa then reveals that she didn’t have to because Konstantin found her.

Ava explains to Brady that Harris got a lead on Megan Hathaway from Hope, so he took a leave from the force and was gone. Brady questions him just ending their relationship like that. Ava says that Harris couldn’t get past trust issues. Ava admits that she did lie to him repeatedly. Ava remarks that unlike Brady, she brought it all upon herself. Brady states that doesn’t make it hurt any less which Ava agrees with. Brady is glad that Harris is God knows where so Ava doesn’t have to see his face as a constant reminder of what she lost. Ava guesses he means like how he had to see Theresa and Alex. Brady complains that they are in the town square having a hell of a good time on their wedding night…

Alex questions Theresa about Konstantin being there which Theresa confirms. Maggie asks why he was at the hotel. Theresa explains that Konstantin heard about Victor’s briefcase and thought he was in the will, so when he found out that he wasn’t, she mentioned her idea to him and he offered to forge Anjelica’s signature. Maggie asks if she’s saying she was working with Konstantin this whole time. Theresa says she didn’t intend to be and she didn’t know he would show up in Salem. Sarah argues that Theresa knew the whole time that Konstantin was just after Maggie’s money. Theresa cries that she didn’t know Konstantin was dangerous and planning to kill her. Alex calls this whole thing a lie and says that Theresa never loved him, she loved the money. Theresa cries that it’s not true and asks if they can go somewhere to talk. Alex tells her that there’s nothing to talk about. Alex brings up that Brady accused her of knowing before she slept with him and she acted so insulted and insisted she was falling in love with him. Alex declares that everything was a lie. Theresa says to let her explain. Xander argues that she already explained that she’s been deceiving everyone this whole time and took something that was rightfully his to give to Alex for her own greedy and vile reasons. Alex tells Xander not to feel bad because he feels Xander got the better deal because Theresa may have screwed him over, but at least he didn’t marry her. Theresa then runs away in tears. Sarah hugs Xander while Justin stands with Alex. After the town square begins to clear out, Alex remains with Justin, Sonny, and Bonnie. Sonny asks if Alex is okay. Alex responds that he just feels so stupid as Bonnie says she’s so sorry for everything that happened. Alex brings up that Brady tried to warn him but he was so caught up in being Victor’s son that he didn’t realize everything was a lie, including this marriage. Bonnie points out the one good thing is that Justin is actually his father. Alex agrees as he and Justin embrace and say they love each other. Sonny adds that he’s still his kid brother after all as he hugs Justin and Alex. Alex declares that he’s so grateful for both of them and he can’t stop thinking about how Theresa lied to him about who he was for all these months. Justin says he will get the marriage annulled, call the police to report fraud, and make sure that Theresa can never hurt him again. Justin adds that if Alex wants to make a statement, they can do that. Alex says he’s sorry but right now, he just needs to get out of here and storms off.

Brady and Ava continue drinking at the Pub. Ava decides she’s had enough and is going upstairs to go to bed early. Brady asks if she wants some company. Ava asks if he’s offering. Brady says they both want to feel good and suggests maybe they could feel good together. Ava admits they probably would tonight, but then tomorrow probably not so much. Ava brings up Kristen being her new boss. Brady jokes that Kristen doesn’t need to know but Ava says they both know that secrets do not stay buried in this town. Ava admits she is tempted but she’s made impulsive decisions before, especially while drinking, and they’ve always turned out to be a mistake. Brady says you can’t blame him for trying. Ava understands why Brady wants to drown himself in booze but encourages himself to try not to think about Theresa for too long since she’s a married woman now, so he has to move on. Ava calls it Theresa’s loss because Brady is a great guy. Brady says he appreciates that and thanks her. Ava asks how he’s getting home. Brady promises to order a ride. Ava tells Brady to take care of himself as she heads upstairs.

Justin and Bonnie talk about it being tough for Alex and how they will be there when he’s ready. Bonnie tells Justin that she couldn’t be happier that Alex is his son as they embrace along with Sonny. Fiona comments to Xander, Sarah, and Maggie about Theresa being a despicable woman and questions them wanting to share their wedding with her. Xander questions Fiona for lying to him his whole life, knowing that Victor was his father. Fiona explains that they didn’t want to hurt Titus and knew he would be devastated if he found out about their affair that Xander wasn’t his son. Xander asks what about after Titus died. Fiona says she was in no shape to deal with it as she fell apart after he died while she and Xander were barely speaking. Sarah asks about Xander having no idea. Xander says when Titus died, he fell apart too but his mom was nowhere to be found as she was off somewhere, drinking herself into oblivion. Fiona apologizes for not being there for him. Xander responds that he doesn’t want her here now and tells her to get out of his sight. Fiona argues that she came to his wedding and wants to get to know her grandchild, but Maggie points out that he asked her to leave, so Fiona exits. Sarah asks if Xander is okay. Xander says he’s fine and tells Sarah that he still wants to get married. Maggie says they could move the ceremony to another time. Xander argues that they’ve been waiting so long for this day. Sarah feels they can wait a little bit longer and suggests just going home to sort everything out. Xander agrees to see them at home then and walks away. Leo approaches Paul and asks where his boyfriend is and questions if Andrew was conspiring with his sister.

Andrew follows Theresa to her room where she is gathering her things and asks if she is going somewhere.

Paul tells Sonny that just once, he wouldn’t mind a simple and boring wedding where everyone goes home happy. Sonny says he’s been to a few and they were pretty nice. Leo comes over and says he likes a little drama with his romance. Leo offers them some of Theresa and Alex’s wedding cake, saying they won’t be using it. Paul questions Leo cutting the cake himself. Leo argues that just because the wedding was a disaster is no reason to let a perfectly good cake go to waste. Roman calls Kimberly and questions if Theresa didn’t call her about the wedding. Roman tells her that she might want to sit down.

Theresa tells Andrew that she doesn’t need to hear what he has to say right now. Andrew doesn’t care and questions her lying to him too, bringing up her kidnapping adventure with Konstantin. Theresa wants to explain but Andrew doesn’t want to hear any more lies. Andrew states that she convinced him not to turn her in when he saw her on the security footage and swore that she only agreed to work with Konstantin in some matchmaking scheme, but she was working with him the whole time to get their hands on Victor’s money and she convinced Maggie that Konstantin was some hero, just so he could help her sink her claws in to Alex. Theresa swears that she really cares about Alex but Andrew tells her to stop lying. Theresa asks if he’s going to turn her in now and tell everyone that she was Konstantin’s accomplice in Victoria’s kidnapping. Andrew says he won’t but if she had a shred of dignity left, she would do it herself. Andrew then exits.

Stephanie catches up to Alex in the park and says she just wanted to see if he’s okay. Alex responds that he’s not, so Stephanie hugs him.

Bonnie tells Justin that she knows a lot of crazy things happened today, but he got the best news about two people he loved very much as Victor didn’t lie to him for all those years and Alex is his son, now and forever. Sarah and Maggie watch over Victoria as Sarah promises she and Xander will get married soon. Maggie calls it hardly the wedding she was expecting. Sarah jokes that she’s had worse. Maggie asks if she’s alright. Sarah says she’s okay but she doesn’t know what happens next. Sarah declares that whatever it is, she will be there to help Xander through it.

Xander goes to the Kiriakis Mansion and has a drink. Xander pours another and then looks up at the portrait of Victor. Xander toasts to his father and then smashes the glass by throwing it at the portrait.

Fiona goes to the Brady Pub and asks Brady if someone is sitting there. Brady responds that she left so no one has touched the drink and it’s all hers, so Fiona takes the seat.

THIS STILL NEEDS EXTENSIVE EDITING!

[light music]

– Hey, boss. You wanted to see me?   – Yeah, come on in.   – Thanks.   So what’s going on?   – Well, I heard about your encounter at the Pub yesterday.   – The Pub?

Mm-hmm.   Roman Brady’s greasy spoon, that pub.   Want to explain why you didn’t tell me about it?

[intriguing music]

Sorry if I woke you.   I just needed my rosary before I head back to the hospital   to see my brother.

How’s he doing?

He’s still in a coma.   Now, if you’ll excuse me.   – No.   We need to talk.

Why don’t you go home and get some rest?

I’m OK.

Well, you can’t sit here  hours a day.   You know that Rafe wouldn’t want you to do that.

I know.   I’m afraid.   I’m afraid that if I leave his side, he’ll–

You can’t think that way. Come on.   He’s a fighter. You know that.   Really.

Yeah, but the machines,   they’re still breathing for him.   And there’s no sign that he’s getting any better.

That doesn’t mean that he won’t.

But it doesn’t mean that he will either.   Be honest with me, Kayla.   What are the chances that he’ll ever wake up?

That’s not the same knife you used to stab Rafe in the back,   is it?   – No, that would be unsanitary.   Besides I left that planted between his shoulder blades.   I’m assuming it’s in some police evidence locker.

Hmm.   And you’re not worried about your prints showing up?

Oh, please, do you take me for an amateur?   I wore gloves.   No one’s ever going to know it was me.

Unless Rafe wakes up from his coma,   in which case you’re screwed.

[light guitar music]

– Sorry, Commish.   I didn’t think Crazy Connie would take it that far, but…   nothing I can do about it now.   I see no reason to waste this golden opportunity   to get closer with Jada.   I should probably get over to the hospital now.

Everett?

[soft orchestration]   announcer: Like sands through the hourglass,   so are the “Days of Our Lives.”

– Steph, I–I didn’t see you standing there.

I–I couldn’t help but overhear.

Overhear what?

Did you say you’re heading to the hospital?

Yes, I am.   I–I have my therapy appointment with Dr. Evans.   – Right, of course.   How’s it going?   – Great.   Yeah.   I’m making a ton of progress.   – I’m so glad to hear that.   – Well, don’t get too excited.   I don’t want you to think we’re getting back together.

I–I didn’t think that.

Good.   I just don’t want there to be any confusion.   Anyway, I should get going.   – I wish I could give you a definitive answer   of when Rafe will wake up,   but there really is no way of knowing.   – Well, I think the chances are that the longer he’s out,   the longer it’ll take him he’ll wake up, right?   – I don’t trust the odds.   And if it’s any consolation to you,   Rafe has been through this before,   and he has made a full recovery.   – He has?   He’s never mentioned that to me before.   – Well, it was years ago.   He was attacked and almost killed.   I mean, things looked pretty dire back then.   But Rafe had a strong spirit.   And he has a strong spirit now.   There are a lot of people praying for him.   There’s no reason to think that he won’t come back to us.   – Well, I hope you’re right   because he has a lot left to do in this world.   – I was up most of the night at the hospital.   I don’t have the energy for another fight.   – I don’t want to fight with you either.   I just need you to stop pushing me away.   – Please move.   – No.   I didn’t say a word when you told me not to come   to the hospital last night   and certainly not when you decided   to move out of our room.   But now I need you to stop being so stubborn,   and let me be there for you.

Aren’t you still mad at me for revealing   that EJ lied about Jude?   You said I may have started another war with your brother.

OK, none of that matters now.   Doesn’t matter now that your brother   is fighting for his life.   So please, let me help you through this.   I know how scared you must be.

Yeah, it’s more than scary.   I’m scared I’m gonna lose him.

Come here.   Come here.

I knew I should have said something to you.

Yes, you should have.   It’s me, Ava.

How did you find out about it anyway?

Gabi left a message last night.

Gabi?

Yes.   She said that she ran into you at the Pub   and pitched you the idea of reviving Gabi Chic at DiMera.

Right, Gabi Chic.

Mm-hmm.   And why didn’t you tell me about this offer?

Because it’s a terrible idea.

Says who?

Says me.   And you well know that I slept with her husband   while she was in prison.

God.   And she doesn’t know about that, don’t she?

No, she does not, OK?   But she hates me.   And there’s no way that I’m going to be sitting   side by side next to her.

Actually, that’s exactly what you’re going to do.

Gabi Chic is a valuable asset.   And it will give us a chance to compete with Basic Black.

So this is about Brady?

No, this is nothing to do with Brady.   Unlike you, I don’t let my personal feelings   get in the way of a smart business decision,   which this most certainly is.   So you’re just going to have to suck it up and accept the fact   that you’ll be working with a woman   whose husband you did sleep with.   So…   I want you to track her down   and get her to sign with us today   before she changes her mind.

Don’t you think Gabi’s got more important things   on her mind right now?   Like the fact that her brother is in a coma.

I’m used to Rafe being this big, strong hero.   You know?

Yeah.

My protector.   Now he’s just lying in that bed helpless.

Cops have any idea who did this to him?

Not yet.   I just keep thinking about the way it happened–   stabbed in the back.

Like Li?

Yeah, like Li.   And it makes me think, I mean, what if there’s a connection?

But Gil Carter’s dead.   How could that be?

Well, apparently, Everett Lynch’s alter, Bobby,   claims he knows that Gil wasn’t the killer.

Oh.   And you think he’s telling the truth?

I don’t know.   But if he is, that means the person that murdered Li   is still out there.

All the evidence pointed toward Gil Carter.   And that was the evidence that we used   to get your conviction overturned.   I mean, Rafe himself was convinced.   I don’t know.   Maybe this is just some horrible coincidence?

Maybe.   All I know is I just want my big brother back.

[music playing]

Thank you.   I know I’ve been trying to push you away.   But it feels really good to have you here with me.

I will always be here for you whenever you need me.

Promise?   – I promise.   – Make love to me, Stefan.

Listen, Hernandez.   I’m going to need you to get better.   You know I am not a patient woman.   You know I hate red lights.   Remember that time you were going to cite me   for hitting my siren at that long red light?   And I know that you deserve a little rest,   but I’m going to need you to wake up, OK?   I mean, not just for me,   but for everyone at the department,   for your friends and your family,   Gabi.   I want you to know that the whole community   is praying for you.   And I hope that you can feel that.   I hope you know how much I love you.   You know, these past few months has been the happiest   that I have ever been.   And I am not ready to lose that.   We have a whole lifetime of happiness ahead of us.   So, Rafe, will you please, please wake up?   So I can hold you again,   and so you can help me find the person who hurt you.

Rafe’s barely hanging on.   I doubt he’ll make some sort of a miraculous comeback.

And if he does?

He didn’t see me.   I came up from behind him.

You’re being awfully coldhearted about all this.   – What do you mean?

I mean, an innocent man is in a coma thanks to you.   And you seem to just be going about your day   without an ounce of remorse.

What was I supposed to do?   Bobby was going to tell Detective Hunter   what I did to you.   And the only way to keep him from blabbing   was to get rid of the Commish.

And how do you know he won’t still blab?   What if Bobby doesn’t hold up his end of the bargain?

I am sure Gabi is very upset about her brother.   But you and I both know that she has no problem   setting aside her emotions   in order to get what she wants.   And look, I know that you two have your issues,   and that you feel guilty about sleeping with her husband   while she was behind bars.   But if you want this job,   you are going to have to get over it.   – Fine.   I will go talk to Gabi today.   And I will make her an offer.

Great.   I took the liberty of having a contract drawn up.

Fine.   For the record, I still think this is a terrible idea.

Yeah, and for the record, I don’t care.   So track down my sister-in-law   and get her to sign on the dotted line.

[laughter]

[sighs]   Feels like now’s a good time to say I’m sorry   for the whole mess with EJ.   What?

How do I know you actually mean it?

Well, I’m not sorry Eric got his kid back.   And yes, it was very satisfying to screw your brother over   after he sent me to prison.   But I’m sorry I betrayed your trust.   I really am.

Well, I accept your apology.   I do.   I’m sorry I got so mad at you.

You had every right to be mad.

No.   Not after how long we were apart.   Not after I almost lost you for good.   I shouldn’t have let something like that come between us.

Easy to say.   You were hurt.   And I don’t blame you.   When it comes to other people,   we can lie, cheat, steal.   You and I need to be able to trust each other.   Give me your hand.   I swear I’ll never keep secrets from you ever again.   From now on, honesty and trust.

Honesty and trust.

It sounds like I missed quite a wedding.   – Well, two weddings– double the drama.

I still can’t believe that Theresa orchestrated   that whole scheme.

I know.

I mean, stealing Xander’s birthright.   You know, I really thought that she had turned a corner.

Me too.   And the way she treated Alex.

How is he doing?   – He’s a mess.   Why wouldn’t he be?

So you’ve seen him after this whole thing went down?   – He took off from the wedding.   And I followed him just to try to comfort him best I could.   But I don’t think it did much good.   – You comforted him?   – Well, not like that.   – Well, I mean, I just mean that the two of you   have a history.   – And that’s all it is–   history.   – Right. Right. That’s right.   You and Everett are back together now   that he’s been released from Bayview, right?   – Well, actually, that’s history too.

[knocking]   – Everett, what are you doing here?

I’m so sorry to intrude.   I just–I heard the news about Rafe.   And I wanted to tell you how sorry I am.   – Oh, that’s very kind of you.   – How’s he doing?   – Not good.   The doctors aren’t even sure if he’ll ever wake up.   – It’s terrible.   Do the police have any leads on who could have done this?   – Forensics is analyzing the knife now   to see if they can pick up any prints or DNA.   But besides that, we don’t have much to go on.

Well, if I can help at all,   let me know.   I’ve got a team of journalists at The Spectator.   I could put them on the case see   if they could dig anything up.

Thanks, but I think it’s best that the police handle this.

I understand.   I just–I want you to know that you have   the full support of not just the newspaper,   but me personally.   Whatever you need, I’m here for you.   – What reason does Bobby have to double cross me?

He was using his knowledge about my murder   to cozy up to Detective Hunter.

So?

So what if he decided to   ID you as my killer   as a way to ingratiate himself to her?   I don’t mean to rain on your parade, Connie,   but this plan of yours could possibly   just blow up in your face.   – I appreciate your concern, Li,   especially since I’m the reason you’re, you know, dead.   But I’m not worried.   Bobby will be careful around Detective Hunter.   He’s shrewd.

So is Jada Hunter.   And Bobby’s her ex.   What if she figures out he’s faking?

She won’t.

I hope you’re right.   Because if he’s caught,   Bobby will have no reason   not to throw you under the bus.

I appreciate your offer to help, Everett.   But I have to admit I’m a bit confused by it.

Why is that?

Because you and I, we barely know each other.

True.   But I was in a coma for a year.   So I have a lot of sympathy for the situation.   – Right.   And you have a lot going on.   So you got to get your life back on track.   I don’t want to be an imposition.

You could never be that.   Look, um…   The truth is I–   I’ve been continuing my outpatient therapy   with Dr. Evans.   And…   the integration process has been, like,   really successful so far.

That’s great.

Yeah.   I mean, I can’t say I fully understand it yet,   but I don’t know.   I’m–I’m starting to feel   like Bobby’s becoming   part of who I am.

Really? Already?

I’m sure I’ve got a long way to go.   But yeah, I feel like–   I don’t know–like, I think I’m starting to remember   some of Bobby’s life.

Do you happen to have any memories   on the murder of Li Shin?

Li Shin?   Yeah, you’ve mentioned that before.

Well, Bobby claimed that he had some information   on the death of Li Shin.   – Oh.   Wow.   No.   No, I don’t know anything about that.   Sorry.   – No need to apologize.   But if something comes back to you, you let me know.

Of course.   And just to clarif,   what I said before about remembering Bobby’s life,   I meant I’m starting   to sort of feel   what he’s feeling   now,   especially when it comes to you.   – Sweetheart, I–sorry.   I know how excited you were that Everett was coming back.   – I was, foolishly in retrospect,   since I was all set to tell him   that I was ready for a serious relationship.   It turns out he’s just not ready.   – Well, that’s understandable.   He might just want to focus on his mental health, you know?   – Which I fully support.   – But it still hurts.   – Yeah, it does.   Everett’s a great guy.   And I’m really gonna miss him,   even if it seems he won’t miss me.   – What?   – He seemed pretty glad to be rid of me.   – What are you talking about?

Before you got here, I ran into him.   Mom, he was so dismissive,   so cold.   – All set.   You know, some would say   this was the savviest negotiation since the big man   himself was in charge.   – Are you now comparing yourself to Stefano?

Just saying.   – All right, leave before your head gets too big   to fit through the doorway.   – You know what?   I am going to get out of here before I bump into Ava.

Oh, don’t worry about it.   She’s not here.   She’s off trying to convince your wife   to bring Gabi Chic back to DiMera.

Oh, Gabi.

Ava.   – Hey. – Hey.   I know this is a really bad time.   I’m very sorry about Rafe.

Sorry you’re not the one who did it?

Oh, come on, Gabi.   Come on.   I know things ended badly between us,   but I care deeply about Rafe.   I would never wish this on him.

Right.   So what do you want?   – Well, if you’ve got a few minutes,   I’d like to talk business.

Is this about Gabi Chic?

I talked it over with Kristen,   and we decided we would love to have you revive   your brand with DiMera.

So I was right to go over your head.

I wouldn’t say that.

Kristen forced you to come to me, huh?   It couldn’t have been easy for you.

Look, we completely understand   if you need to concentrate on your brother right now,   but it is a standing offer.   So if you’d like to take a few months before jumping in–

That’s very considerate of you,   but we don’t know when Rafe’s situation might change.   And jumping back in the game with Gabi Chic   would be a welcome distraction.

Are you sure?   – Yes.   In fact, one of the last things that Rafe said to me before he   was attacked was that I needed to start thinking about getting   my life back together.   It’s almost like he gave me his blessing.

That’s great.

So got a contract for me to sign?

Seems surprisingly fair.

Well, Kristen is eager to have you back in the fold.   Feel free to have your lawyers take a look at it,   get a second set of eyes on it.   – That’s OK.   When I was CEO of DiMera, I worked with plenty of contracts   like this.   Seems pretty standard.

Um, Wait.

What’s the problem?

No, no, no problem.   I just–I want to make sure that you realize   how much work it’s going to take   to start your company again.   – Are you trying to talk me out of this?   – No, not at all.   And Kristen is eager to have you on board.   And therefore, so am I. I just–   you know, I don’t want you to sign and then have regrets   when the workload starts to come on in,   especially since you’re going to have to be   juggling Rafe’s medical needs.   – Oh, I see.   – You see what?   – You’re right. I may not be up for it.   – No, I didn’t say that.   – Look, I ran all of DiMera.   I can certainly handle the pressure of Gabi Chic.   It’s a deal.   I know you have your personal doubts,   but I can promise you, neither one of us   are going to regret working together.   – I’m sorry.   Did you just say that Gabi and Ava   are going to be working together?   – That’s the plan.   – OK, why? Why?   Why?   Why the hell would you do that?   – Hey, it was Gabi’s idea.   I mean, she’s the one who wants to restart   Gabi Chic here at DiMera. – OK.   But of course, she didn’t realize   that she’d be working with the woman   who slept with her husband.

Yeah, but she doesn’t know about that.   And Ava’s not gonna tell her.   I mean, Ava wasn’t too thrilled about the situation either.

Of course, she wasn’t.   So why did you move forward with it?

Because it’s good for business.   – Right.   You sure about that?   Or is this your way of getting back at me and Gabi?

Listen to me.   Do not take Everett’s behavior personally.   Look, he has been locked in his psyche for months.   I’m sure it is just really disorienting to be back,   you know? – Yeah.   Yeah, you’re right.   I shouldn’t take it personally.   And I shouldn’t complain.   I’m glad that Everett is himself again.   And he deserves to   live a life he chooses for himself.   – I am so proud of you.   – Thanks, Mom.

Oh.   My break is over.   Listen.   Why don’t we have a girls’ night tonight?

Really?   You sure you’re up for it?

%.   Look, your dad’s still in Greece.   You can come over.   We’ll order in.   We’ll watch a movie.

Well, can we do   popcorn and ice cream?

You know it now, huh?   I love you, baby girl.

I love you too.

All right.   See you in a bit, OK?   – OK.   – If you’re suggesting that you’re developing   feelings for me–

No, no.   I just–   I know Bobby really cared about you.   And I guess I’m starting to feel that affection.   I just wanted to come and offer my support   as a friend.   – OK.   Sorry if I misunderstood.

Not at all.   It’s a very confusing situation.

Yeah, for all of us.   But the important thing is that you’re getting healthy.

That means a lot coming from you.

You know, I am suddenly starving,   so I’m gonna grab some takeout.

You know, I’m headed into town.   I can pick something up for you.   – Oh, no, I could–   I could use the fresh air.   – I understand.   If you need anything, just call.   I’m just trying to busy myself, you know, other than work.   I’m trying to stay busy   now that I’m alone.

Alone?   What about Stephanie?   – Oh, yeah, we–   we’re not seeing each other anymore.   Sadly, that had to end.

So sorry to hear that.   – That’s OK.   It’s for the best.   Anyway, I’ll see you around.   – I’ve been ruminating on what you said about Bobby.   And maybe you’re right.   He could turn out to be a liability.   – What are you gonna do about it?   – Well,   I guess if it comes to it,   I’ll have to get him out of the way   just like I did the Commish.   – And now, why would I want to get back at you and Gabi?   – I don’t know, Kristen.   Maybe for the way we stole your DiMera shares?

You mean the way you made it look like   I was abusing my own daughter?   – Yeah, that. – Yeah, that.   And I was very upset about it.   But…   we can let all that go, right?   Because now we have a mutual disdain that we can bond over–   our brother EJ.   – I’m glad we’ll always have something to bond over.

Mm-hmm.   So you can let go of your paranoia   and know that I am not out to get you and Gabi.   And I am not gonna spill the beans   over your one-night stand.   I wouldn’t do that to Ava.   – What about Ava?   – Oh, I was just filling Stefan in   on how you’ll be working with Gabi.   – It’s a done deal.   – Jada.   – Steph, hi.   – I’m so sorry about Rafe.   How are you holding up?   – I’m hanging in there.   But how are you?   I saw Everett, and he told me that you two broke up.   – Yeah, we did.   I’m surprised he told you about that,   considering all you’re going through.

Right. Well, he was acting very weird.   – Well, what do you mean?

Let’s just say he just wasn’t acting like himself   at all.

Oh, my God.   Do you think it’s possible–   – That Everett really isn’t Everett?   Yeah, I do.   – Everett.

Dr. Johnson.   – Hi. You know what?   I was so glad to hear about your breakthrough   that you’re doing better.

Yeah, I am.   Thank you. Thank you.   – Wait. Do you have a minute?   Actually, I’d like to talk to you about my daughter.

Oh?   What about?

Well, Stephanie told me that the two of you   aren’t seeing each other anymore.

Yeah, I’m sure she told you I really need to focus on   my–on my recovery.

Yeah, she did.   But she also was very upset about how dismissive   you were with her earlier.   And I just thought that you should know   how much she cares about you.   And maybe it’s none of my business,   but I was just hoping that you would be a little more   sensitive to her feelings.

You’re absolutely right.   It is none of your business.

What are you doing in here?

Steffy: I’m so glad to see you. My hot, sexy, doctor husband.

[Finn chuckles]

Finn: I’m happy to be with you.

Steffy: Well, I was–I was expecting you a little sooner. What held you up?

Hope: I find you attractive. And I would be lying if I said I didn’t think about you and what it would be like to be with you from time to time.

Finn: Okay, hope.

Hope: I know. We are adults. But… can a girl dream?

Brooke: Oh, there you are. Did you hear? Sheila got released from custody.

Hope: Oh, I–yes, I heard.

Brooke: You did?

Hope: Yes. I was with finn when dad texted him.

[Birds chirping]

Poppy: You know.

Bill: What?

Poppy: Luna isn’t home right now.

Bill: Are you saying we have this whole place to ourselves?

Poppy: Uh-huh. So I figured that we could start in the bedroom.

Bill: Start, huh? I do like the sound of that. But I don’t think I’ll have the time I need to devote to those activities. I have someplace I need to be, but I promise I’ll make it up to you.

Poppy: All right. I’m gonna hold you to that.

Bill: You do that.

[Phone chiming]

Poppy: All right. I’m gonna take this upstairs.

Bill: Okay.

Poppy: But… I’ll see you later.

[Bill chuckles]

Poppy: Hey. What’s going on?

Bill: Katie. What a pleasant surprise.

Katie: Yeah, well, I need to talk to you about our son and all the changes in your life.

Katie: I know this seems like I’m not letting this go, but I’m concerned. Your life has changed so much, so quickly.

Bill: You have no need to be concerned. Poppy and luna being in my life, it’s all good.

Katie: See, that’s just it. I’m not so sure it is all good. I’m sorry. This is a bit new for me. I mean, I’ve been concerned or worried about you in the past, but that was different. This is– this is different. You’ve always been so self-assured and stubborn and pigheaded.

Bill: Self-assured, stubborn, pigheaded. Yes. Those are the abcs of me.

Katie: See?

Bill: See what? You’re right.

Katie: I just don’t like that you’re not paying attention to what I’m trying to tell you. This thing with poppy and luna, I–I don’t know if it’s everything it appears to be, and I’m worried.

Finn: What about my sexy… ceo wife? How are things here?

Steffy: Uh…hi.

Finn: Not so good?

Steffy: I’m just, uh– I’m a little frustrated.

Finn: Come here. Hey.

Steffy: Hmm?

Finn: What’s going on? I’m all ears.

Steffy: Brooke and hope. It’s all logans… all the time.

Brooke: So, you were with finn?

Hope: Yes. I, um– he happened to run into me, and I was with him when he heard the news. Dad thought he should know right away.

Brooke: Hmm. Okay. Well, it’s all quite shocking. I mean, we all believe that sheila was responsible for the deaths of hollis and the homeless man. Were you able to talk to your father about this?

Hope: Um, we’ve been texting, but he said that he would give me a call once they got settled at home.

Brooke: You can only imagine how steffy took the news, and I’m sure that finn is beside himself, too.

Hope: Actually, I think finn might be a little relieved, knowing that sheila was released. “I got you” by the beginners

Brooke: Finn’s happy about sheila’s release?

Hope: I said relieved, mom. Happy is not at all how I would describe finn.

Brooke: Well, I’m just surprised he would have that kind of reaction after what he said to chief baker.

Hope: Well, I mean, he’s not naive. He knows what sheila’s capable of.

Brooke: Well, that’s why I thought he’d be upset, enraged even.

Hope: Okay, finn obviously wants her to be questioned. That is the right thing to do in this circumstance, given sheila’s history, given her threats to his family. He just wants to protect them as best as he can. He wants due diligence. But I believe that deep down, perhaps finn didn’t believe that sheila was behind tom and hollis’s deaths. I’m really just worried about finn having to tell steffy the news and what her reaction might be.

Steffy: Hope’s just been particularly difficult lately, and I’m trying so hard not to lose my patience.

Finn: You two just don’t understand each other’s motives. Maybe that’s why you’re…

Steffy: Don’t say what I think you’re gonna say here.

Finn: Wait. What? What am I gonna say?

Steffy: I don’t know, that maybe hope and I align on more than we think. Okay, maybe hope and I have similar adjacent goals, but hope is fighting me on everything. And brooke isn’t helping. I feel like I’m in this impossible situation with these two women who are against me.

[Phone chimes] Ugh! Hold on. Let me check this. I think it could be the distributor. Oh. It’s my dad.

[Gasps] What?

Finn: What? Everything okay?

Steffy: Sheila. She’s been released? What? Wait. You already know?

Finn: Yeah. Deacon just texted me.

Steffy: Why didn’t you tell me that?

Finn: Well, honestly, I was torn.

Steffy: Sheila’s been released?

Finn: Yeah.

Steffy: What are they thinking?

Katie: Don’t you think that everything, this whole situation with poppy and luna has just moved a little too fast?

Bill: I’ve already missed out on so much, katie, and I don’t like wasting time. You know that.

Katie: But that doesn’t mean you have to move them into your home and create this whole family unit. I mean, how well do you know them?

Bill: I know enough. They’re family. What more do I need to know? All right, listen, I really do appreciate your concern. And if the roles reversed, I’m sure I’d react the same way.

[Katie laughs]

Bill: Okay, fine. Fine. Yeah, I would be– I’d be much worse. But I’m telling you, your concern in this case is unwarranted.

Katie: Well, I wish I felt the same way.

Bill: You said you wanted to talk about will.

Katie: Yes. Will. He’s going to be home soon, and I’m concerned about how he’s going to fit into this whole thing with poppy and her– and your daughter.

Bill: I’m sure it’s all going to work out. Our son is nothing if not resilient. And you know what? He may love having a sister.

[Katie sighs] Okay, I can see that we’re going to come to no sort of agreement on this thing, and I have somewhere to go.

Katie: Okay, well, I’ve got some paperwork that I need to find for will, and I think it’s– I think it’s around here. I think it’s in there.

Bill: Okay, well, you’re good. I’ve got to get to this meeting. Right? You’re good.

Katie: But–before you go, I know that you’re enamored with the idea of having a daughter.

Bill: It’s not an idea, katie. Luna is my daughter, and I love her, and I vowed to take care of her. In fact, uh, we have discussed adoption. I’d like to make it official and give luna the spencer name.

Katie: Oh, my god. Bill, poppy and luna have not been in your life that long. I mean, you’ve moved them into your home, into will’s home, and now you’re talking about adoption and giving her your name? You need to be careful here, because I know you don’t want to believe it, but I get a weird vibe from poppy. Just please tell me that you’re being cautious. I’ll be cautious.

[Kisses] I’ve got to get to this meeting.

[Scoffs]

[Door closes]

Poppy: Anything I can help you find?

Katie: Oh. I didn’t know that you were here.

Poppy: You know, this is becoming a habit.

Katie: What is?

Poppy: Walking in and finding you in bill’s arms. Hi. I use febreze fade defy plug.

Brooke: Well, I hope finn doesn’t tell steffy that he’s relieved, because I don’t think that’s gonna go over well.

Hope: But his feelings are valid, mom. He should be able to tell his wife how he feels without it being some big betrayal.

Brooke: Steffy has been very upfront with finn when it comes to sheila.

Hope: And finn has been a wonderful husband to her. He has been loving and understanding and committed.

Brooke: Right. Committed to steffy. Now, I don’t need to remind you, do I, that he is married to steffy.

Hope: You can stop reminding me, mom. I know.

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Hope: But I do question more and more if steffy deserves a man like finn.

Steffy: No, no, no, finn. This can’t be happening again. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

Finn: It’s just– it’s shocking.

Steffy: No, no. How– how do the authorities just let her go like that? God, I thought that I could finally feel safe again, that I could finally breathe, and then– I can’t believe I allowed this. I can’t believe I allowed this.

Finn: Wait, wait, wait. What did you allow? Okay, her release isn’t on you.

Steffy: No, that I allowed myself to believe that justice would finally be served. But now sheila is out again, and now she has another opportunity to strike. She has another opportunity to show up at our house unannounced. You could be manipulated. She could hurt me or the kids. It just adds a whole other level of panic. How is this not over? I thought this fear could finally subside, this nightmare was over. Oh, my god. I don’t understand this. It had to have been sheila.

Poppy: I keep finding you in my home, badmouthing me to bill.

Katie: Well, I care about bill. He’s the father of my son. He’s important to me.

Poppy: Bill is also the father to my daughter, so obviously he’s important to me, too.

Katie: Well, if you want to know what I was saying to him, I’m happy to tell you. I’m not here to hide anything.

Poppy: No need, because I heard it all, every word, how you think this is moving too quickly, how he doesn’t know us well enough. And I agree. Katie, no one is more surprised and shocked than I am. Luna and I are not trying to invade or overtake anything. We are here because bill invited us, and he’s been more than generous and an absolute gentleman.

Katie: Ever the accommodating girlfriend.

Poppy: That’s right. I am his girlfriend. And I’m not going to hide how much I love him. You let him go. You having a little bit of seller’s remorse, katie? It’s kind of obvious. You want bill back, don’t you? At dot’s an ordinary pretzel just isn’t enough.

Finn: I hate how upset you are. And I totally understand. All I can do is assure you that you and the kids will always be safe.

Steffy: No, you make me feel safe. You do.

Finn: Yeah.

Steffy: And when you supported me when they took sheila in for questioning, like, that meant the world to me. I just don’t understand why the police could do something like this. Like, how could they let her go?

Finn: All we know is that– that there wasn’t anything tying her to the scene.

Steffy: Oh, god.

Finn: And it’s a possible lack of motive.

Steffy: You can’t be serious.

Finn: No, no, no. Think about it, babe. I mean, tom, why would sheila kill the man that saved her life and officiated their wedding? And hollis was a longtime employee, deacon’s friend. I don’t–like, what would the motive be there?

Steffy: I don’t know. Who knows why sheila does what she does? What I do know is that this woman is evil, and she is capable of doing something like this.

Finn: I agree. She’s capable. And don’t get me wrong. I am grateful that chief baker took her in for questioning. It was the right thing to do.

Steffy: Well, if sheila didn’t do it, who did? Who?

Poppy: Just admit it, katie. This is not about luna and me. It never has been. This is about you and your feelings for bill.

Katie: Something doesn’t make sense. I mean, you show up in town, and seemingly overnight, you have this daughter with bill. It was so abrupt, so sudden. I mean, I have a right to question that. This is the house where bill and I raised our son.

Poppy: Not anymore. This is now the house where bill and I are raising our daughter.

Katie: You know, will be home soon. He’s gonna be here, which means I’m gonna be here.

Poppy: So you’ll visit, and then you’ll leave.

[Katie sighs]

Katie: Something doesn’t add up. Bill doesn’t see it because he’s so in love with this idea of having a daughter. But I see it. Your story has holes. You hooked up with bill at a music festival a long time ago. So if you were that casual with men, then there must have been others. How many? You know, I’ve talked to luna. She’s told me how much she wanted to know who her father was and how much she wanted to have him in her life. And yet you’ve suspected for all of these years that bill could be her father and you kept it from her? I mean, why would you wait 20 years to take the steps, to find out for sure, to finally take a paternity test? Now you’re here, lady of the manor, protecting your relationship with bill, as if you’re worried that someone’s gonna sneak in and take it away from you. It’s almost as if you’re hiding something that could ruin everything. Oh, I’ve got a lot of questions about you, poppy, and I’m gonna find out the answers to every single one of them.
