Gabi yelled at Li. She told him it was his idea to brainwash Stefan. Li said Rolf was lying. Li said he could never betray her like that. She thought about Rolf’s confession. She accused Li of trying to kill Stefan in his sleep. She said he tried to murder the man she loved. She thought about Rolf injecting her with something to make her forget the truth. She yelled at Li He asked her if they could go somewhere so they could talk. Rafe said they weren’t going anywhere. He said Kristen wasn’t either. Jada put handcuffs on her. Rafe handcuffed Li. Brady went with Jada and Rafe while they were taking Kristen and Li away. Gabi asked for Wendy’s phone so she could call Stefan. Stefan was planning a night with Chloe, so he didn’t hear the phone. Gabi left a message on his phone. Gabi asked Nicole if she knew where Chloe and Stefan were staying. Nicole gave her the name of the hotel. Gabi left. Johnny went too so he could give her a ride.

At the police station, Rafe told Li and Kristen that they weren’t charged with anything yet. Rafe said it was a preliminary investigation. Li and Kristen said they wanted their lawyers. Rafe didn’t let them contact their lawyers. Jada told Rafe they needed to call their lawyers. She said their case would be ruined if they didn’t call their lawyers. He agreed to let them call their lawyers. He said Li and Kristen would think the police couldn’t make a case and have a false sense of security. Rafe said he would build a case against Li so he could put him away. Brady showed up to find out what was going on. Rafe and Jada told him they were going to let Kristen go. Li ran into Wendy and Johnny at the town Square. She told Li that Gabi went to Miami. Wendy told Li he was on his own from now on. Stefan and Chloe had fun with each other. He noticed Gabi’s message but didn’t listen to it. Chloe told him she had a great time and didn’t want it to end. They kissed each other.

Bonnie saw Sarah at the hospital. Bonnie finished her session with Marlena. Bonnie saw a clown and started yelling at it. Sarah calms her down. Bonnie said she was tired of being scared. She said the clown was still out there. She said she was grateful that Xander was there for her. She said she felt bad for accusing Xander of being one of the kidnappers. Sarah wondered why she felt that Xander was one of the kidnappers. Bonnie told her why she felt that way. Justin asked Rafe and Jada about the person who kidnapped Bonnie. Rafe said they were waiting on a forensics report on the warehouse where Bonnie and Xander were held. Rafe said they would let him know if they find out anything. Justin left the police station. Rafe and Jada went over the report. They saw a piece of polyester that didn’t match Bonnie or Xander’s clothes. They saw stuff that was in pillows. Gabi called him to remind him about their lunch. He asked Jada to come with him. She agreed to go, but she wanted him to go somewhere with her first. Xander wanted Gwen to come to his motel room. She showed up. He showed her the lingerie that he got for Sarah. He said it was the gift he told Thomas that she helped him get for Sarah. He said if Sarah asked, she would know what to do. When Xander opened the door for Gwen to leave, Justin was there.

Justin told Xander that he was going to help him sue Red Nax since he helped find Bonnie. Justin said he needed the boss’s name so he could file the suit. Xander tried to tell Justin that he didn’t need his help. Gwen said the boss’s name is Maeve Wilson. She said she had the contact information from when she started the story on Red Nax. Justin said he would get it from her later. When Justin left, she told Xander that Maeve Wilson was someone she went to school with. She said they would send Justin on a wild goose chase. She said Xander would never be caught. Jada and Rafe went to the hospital for the hospital party. She said it was one of her father’s traditions. Xander was at the hospital dressed as Santa. Sarah was dressed as Mrs. Claus. Xander read to the kids. Jada told Rafe that she was surprised that Xander would cover up his muscles with the padding. Rafe figured out the flesh-colored material and padding was a body suit worn under the clown clothes. He wondered why the person would do that. Leo showed up in the living room at the Kiriakis mansion. Victor was upset that Leo was living there. Victor wanted Henderson to throw him out. Leo said he was invited. Sonny showed up and said Leo was telling the truth. Victor wanted to know why Sonny would invite Leo to stay. Sonny said he needed a place to stay. Victor said it was time for Leo to leave. Victor wondered why Sonny would forgive Leo. Sonny said he forgave Leo the same way people forgave Victor. Sonny said Leo was genuinely sorry and wanted to be a better person. Sonny said he considered him a friend. Victor said that was the stupidest thing he heard. He told Sonny to get rid of him or he was fired. Sonny said he would rather help a friend to give in to his demands. Victor gave in and let Sonny keep his job. He said Leo could stay as long as he is far away from him and Maggie. He asked what Will thought of it. Sonny said Will didn’t know. Victor said he had a lot of explaining to do. While Sonny and Leo were alone, they started playing around. Will walked in and wanted to know what was going on.

Chad went to visit Abby’s grave. He was sad to spend Christmas without her. He said he would make it okay for the kids, but he missed her. He said he missed her more than he expected. He said he would love her forever. Someone touched him from behind. It turned out to be Jennifer. He said Abby should be there to hang her ornament and help the kids hang their ornaments. Jennifer apologized for not being there for him. He said she had to take care of herself. She said that now that she is clean, she felt less self-centered. She said she was more worried about him and the kids. He said he was focusing on work. He said it helped him. He suggested they go to Doug and Julie’s party. Xander read an article about Ava going crazy. Sarah was dressed for Doug and Julie’s party. She gave him an ornament for the Horton tree. He said he wasn’t worthy of the ornament. She said her family isn’t perfect. She said he shouldn’t feel like he wasn’t worthy. Maggie showed up to pick up Sarah and Xander. They talked about Xander not feeling worthy of the ornament.

Maggie told Xander that the Hortons weren’t pleased to accept Victor at first, but they gave him an ornament. She said they got over it when they saw how much she and Victor loved each other. She said he was one of the good ones since he reformed himself, loved Sarah and saved Bonnie. Gwen was setting up the Horton table. She was on the phone with Leo. She told him that she didn’t have to help Xander, but she made sure he owed her one. Thomas walked in and asked what Xander owed her. She got off the phone. He asked her what Xander owed her. She said she helped Xander pick out a gift for Sarah, but it had to be a secret. Doug and Julie talked to Hope on the phone. When they got off the phone, Julie talked about the family who wasn’t there. Eli showed up with the kids. Julie was excited to see them. Eli told Doug and Julie how hard it has been with Lani away. He said it wasn’t as bad as what Thomas and Charlotte had to go through. He said Lani would be eligible for parole in a year. Chad came in with Jennifer. Jack showed up and was happy to see Jennifer. Maggie, Sarah and Xander showed up to the party. They all spent time together and put the ornaments on the tree.

Stefan answered the door at the DiMera mansion. It was Wendy. She said she was there to check on Johnny. Stefan asked her about Jakarta. He said he didn’t understand why she put her career on the line. He asked if there was another reason why she was there. Johnny showed up and said he was being impulsive for why they went to Jakarta. He said he wanted to impress her. Stefan told him not to let it happen again. Stefan left them alone. They were upset that they have to keep lying. One of the lies they mentioned was that they are dating. He said they could pretend to break up. She said it would be better to keep the lie going. He agreed to keep dating. He gave her a gift. Kristen and Rachel saw Chloe in the Square. Rachel was rude to Chloe. Kristen told Rachel that they should be kind even to people who stole things that don’t belong to them. Rachel apologized to Chloe. Rachel asked when she was going to get her wish of her parents getting back together. Rachel said they don’t sleep in the same room. Kristen sent her to get hot chocolate. While Rachel was gone, Kristen and Chloe get into an argument.

At John and Marlena’s apartment, Brady told Eric that his suggestion to kidnap Rachel was crazy. Eric said it was crazy that Kristen had his mother’s life in her hands. He said she had too much power and had to be stopped. Brady said that was true, but he wasn’t going to put Rachel through the trauma of being kidnapped. Eric said she would never know. He said she would think that she was going on vacation with him. He said Kristen would lose her mind while Rachel was having fun in the sun. He said Brady could get the orchid. Brady said he didn’t know Eric could be so ruthless. Eric said he was tired of being the victim. He said Kristen drugged and raped him, so he didn’t want to show her mercy. He said he would only go through with the plan if Brady was okay with it. Kristen showed with Rachel. Kristen told him Stefan and Chloe were going to Miami for New Years. Brady and Kristen argued with each other. When they were finished, Kristen took Rachel to her room. Eric told Brady that Kristen would keep them under her thumb if they didn’t do something. Brady said he hated to admit it, but Rachel was the best leverage he had over Kristen. Eric said she would be safe the entire time. Brady agreed to do it.

She said she was afraid that time was running out on their plan to expose Kristen. She said they should tell Kristen they had another fight. He said he didn’t think they could pull it off. He said he almost lost her twice. He didn’t want to tell anyone that they were fighting. He said she made him happy. He said he was the luckiest man on earth. Kristen put a mistletoe over Brady. He didn’t want to kiss her. She told him Marlena was going to need another dose from the orchid so he should be nicer to her. Rachel walked in and wanted to know what Kristen was talking about. Kristen told her the orchids were life-saving medicine. Brady said he thought they could get one for Christmas. Rachel said she wanted them to be together forever. He said he wanted to make her happy. He said he and Kristen were doing what was best for her. Kristen said she and Rachel could go look for decorations. Rachel asked Brady to go with them, but he said he had to work. Rachel left to get ready. Kristen ripped into Brady for dashing Rachel’s hopes. She told him to stop hating her so much and love their daughter more. He said he loved his daughter, but he loved Marlena too. He said that was the only reason she was living there.

Nicole woke up from a nightmare. EJ asked if she was dreaming about Eric. She said she was shocked to see Eric. EJ told her not to read too much into it. He said Eric jumping in bed with Sloan was an indicator that he moved on. He said she should let Eric move on. She agreed with him. He said he knew what could take her mind off of things. He played her the voicemail Sister Mary left him. She said the explosion was his fault because he brought a harlot to his mother’s funeral. She said the explosion was a warning. She said he was in danger if he didn’t heed the warning. He apologized for putting Nicole in danger. She said it was Ava’s fault. Abe went to see Paulina. He told her there wasn’t going to be a bail hearing. He said the court adjourned for the holidays. She said she wanted to put out a press release saying that she was stepping down as governor. She said he could stay on as mayor. He tried to talk her out of it, but she didn’t want to hear it. Abe got a call from Belle. He handed Paulina the phone. Abe and Paulina went to Allie and Chanel’s apartment. Paulina told them Belle went to London and challenged their extraditions. Paulina said Belle won so the charges were dismissed. She said Trask couldn’t hold either one of them. Sloan showed up at the apartment. She got a call about what happened. She told them she was going to make Paulina pay. Eric went to see Brady. He told Brady he came up with a plan to stop Kristen. He said they needed to kidnap Rachel.

Gwen let Leo know that Jack didn’t want to do his gossip column. He wondered how she was going to repay him for the favor he did for Xander. He told her it was possible that she could get Xander back in her bed. She said he wanted that to be true because he wanted to get Sonny in bed. Steve and Stephanie went to see Tripp. Steve said it would have been better if Ava died in the explosion. Tripp didn’t like him saying that about his mother. Steve said she was dangerous. He wanted Tripp to stay away from her. Tripp said he wasn’t going to stay away from her. Steve said he understood, but he didn’t like how she got Tripp killed. Steve said he couldn’t lose him. Ava threatened to expose Xander if he didn’t help her get out of the hospital. They argued about it. While they were arguing, he picked up a scalpel. She wanted him to use the scalpel. Sarah walked in on them. He put the scalpel down. He told her he was trying to get Ava to admit who was helping her. Sarah said he should let the police handle it. She wanted to check on Ava. He left the room.

Sarah told Ava her son was worried about her. Ava said it was Charlie’s fault for trying to get even with EJ. She said he made her drive Susan off the road. Tripp came in the room. Ava pointed at him as if he was Charlie. She told him to tell Sarah the bomb was his idea. Tripped tried to talk to Ava, but she got upset. Sarah sedated her. She saw Charlie. He told her this was like her father did to her. Xander called Gwen and asked her to meet him in the Square. He told her Ava was alive. He said she threatened him. He showed her what he was going to use to get Ava out of the handcuffs. He said he needed a driver. She said she would help him, but he owed her. Tripp told Steve that Ava was seeing Charlie. Sarah said Ava was being transferred to Bayview. Xander showed up. Ava said it was all his fault. She said she was going to tell everyone what he did. He was afraid until Sarah told him she was hallucinating. Ava said she didn’t want to leave Tripp. He told her she as going to get better. Gwen texted Xander to let him know she was ready. He told her the mission was off She said he still owed her.

Eric asked Brady what Kristen had over him. Brady told him to forget about it, but Eric didn’t want to. Brady told him that Kristen used Marlena, Kate and Kayla’s lives to blackmail him. Eric said he wouldn’t say anything. Eric said they would find a way to stop Kristen from hurting the people they love. John tried to get Kristen to tell him what was on her mind. She said she wants to be a good mother and wife. She said she wanted Rachel to know she was safe and loved. She was surprised that he was being nice to her. He said he would be there for her when she wants to talk. She appreciated it and left to get Rachel. He called Marlena and left her a message. He told her he was convinced that Kristen was hiding something. He said he was going to find out what she was hiding. Steve and Rafe were at the pub. Steve asked if Rafe found out anything that could get EJ for kidnapping Tripp. Rafe said he didn’t, but he wanted to nail EJ. Kayla called Steve to tell him Tripp was in Salem. She thought Tripp was going to confront EJ.

When the bomb went off in the church, everyone was under the debris. They called out to each other. EJ went to help Nicole since she was hurt and couldn’t move. Tripp checked on Ava, but she wasn’t breathing. He gave her CPR which revived her. When EJ tried to lift Nicole, they realized her leg was under a beam. The beam was holding up the ceiling. When the debris was falling down, Nicole told everyone to leave. They said they weren’t leaving without her. They worked together to move the beam. EJ and Marlena helped Nicole out of the church. Johnny helped Tripp with Ava. Brady went home and told John about Eric. Kristen came in while they were talking. Marlena came in. John wanted to know what happened. She told them what happened. When John and Marlena were kissing, Kristen said they were kissing and making up. Brady wanted to know what she was talking about. She said John and Marlena argued over Marlena wanting her to leave. Kristen asked what he wanted. He said he wanted her to stay. At the hospital, Tripp asked Ava if she planted the bomb at the church. Rafe and Steve were at the hospital. Rafe arrested Ava. He told her she was going away for a while. She wasn’t convinced. Xander was at the hospital to celebrate Sarah’s birthday. When Johnny said Ava was alive, Xander went to her room. She told him to get her out of the hospital or she would tell Sarah that he was her accomplice.

He said it was more fun to be the bad twin. Sloan came back in the room just as Nicole left. She wanted to know if Eric was okay. She told him there was still time for them to have some love in the afternoon. She loosened the towel she was wore and they kissed. They had sex and they showered together. He let her know that he had to meet Brady. She wanted to be with him again and he was willing to do that. Charlie and Ava loved the bomb she created. She wanted to make all of her enemies pay. She wanted to start with Nicole. She knew she would be at the funeral. John and Marlena talked about how they couldn’t let Rachel have what she wanted for Christmas. John thought they had to get Kristen out of Brady’s life for good. Marlena thought he should get close to Kristen again as a friend. She thought Kristen would tell him what she’s holding over Brady’s head. He loved it when Marlena schemed. She thought it was good parenting. She had an idea of how to get Kristen to let her guard down.

Kristen interrupted Brady’s conversation with Tate. She dangled mistletoe in front of him. He didn’t want her to encourage Rachel’s fantasies that they were getting back together. He thought that was good that she was willing to go to Susan’s service. She had a plan so that she could see EJ. Brady wasn’t going to like the plan. Kristen showed up at the DiMera mansion. She told EJ that she wanted to be there for him. He didn’t want her to be there. He wanted her to leave so he could be alone. Brady met with Eric. He let him know that he lost money because he was arrested. Eric quit his job and apologized to Brady. Nicole showed up at the DiMera mansion to tell him about Eric and Sloan. He told her that Kristen showed up at the mansion. Since EJ didn’t have anyone else, Nicole offered to go to the funeral with him. Ava wore a wig and put the bomb near Susan’s things at the church. Johnny was outside the church. He thought he saw Ava. He wanted to know if that was her. She let him know that it was her.

Eric talked to Sloan about what happened with Nicole. He didn’t want to go home because she didn’t want to take his anger at Nicole out on Jada. He couldn’t believe Nicole moved on so fast with EJ. Sloan suggested that he stay in her apartment with her. She told him that she only had one bed. She promised him that nothing would happen. He joined her in the bed. She talked to him about her situation. She believed they both had a right to be angry. Sloan thought they should forget everything. Eric kissed her. They got passionate until she stopped them. She didn’t want him to think that she’s taking advantage of him. He insisted that he wanted it and needed it. They went back to making out. EJ poured Nicole a drink when Sister Mary Moira walked in on them. She didn’t approve of them being together. She didn’t approve that he was with someone who isn’t his wife. She couldn’t believe that he would do that on the eve of her burial. Mary Moira called Nicole a tramp. EJ got upset and made her apologize to her. Nicole told her everything that she did when she insulted her. Later, EJ told Nicole that he was proud of her for standing up to his aunt. She reminded him of the woman that he fell in love with before. He welcomed her back. She told him that she and Eric were finished. EJ told her that she was better off without Eric because he stifled her spirit.

Rafe arrived at the Kiriakis mansion to talk to Justin. He said that he couldn’t declare Bonnie missing yet. He did put out an alert out on her. Alex walked in the room to tell Justin that everyone was checking Bonnie’s favorite spots. Justin wanted to do the same thing. Alex apologized to Rafe for putting Eric and Nicole on the cover of Bella together. Rafe said the breakup was painful, but he thought it was for the best. Leo met with Gwen at the Horton house. She asked him to dress up as a clown. He thought about his childhood trauma about clowns, but Gwen was willing to pay him to dress as the clown. She gave him what he needed to look like Xander in the clown suit. Bonnie wondered why Xander what stunt he was trying to pull. He told her that he fought with the clown. She had a feeling that he was the clown who kidnapped her. The clown burst in the room and Xander pretended to be afraid. Bonnie realized that Xander wasn’t the clown. Bonnie cried out while Xander took off his ropes. He went after the clown. Xander and the clown moved into the hallway. Leo took off the mask. They went back into the room when Leo pretended to overpower him and ran off. Bonnie thanked him for what he did. She apologized for accusing him of being her kidnapper.

Maggie, Sarah and Bonnie were hanging out when the conversation turned to Susan. They talked about what happened to Susan. Bonnie admitted to them that she was worried that the kidnapper was going to come back to get her. She wanted to put everything behind her. She walked out the room. Maggie asked Sarah about Xander. She told Maggie what happened to Xander. She told Maggie that he had proof that he was innocent. Maggie was happy for Xander. Sarah was relieved he was innocent. Bonnie came back in the room and said that she was afraid the kidnapper would come after her.

Justin showed up at Xander’s room and they talked about the debt collector. Justin was proud of him for quitting a job that wasn’t ethical. He wanted to help Xander by helping him sue them for wrongful termination. Xander wanted to forget the incident happened. Justin insisted he had a case, but Xander wanted to forget about it. Justin apologized for being so pushy. Xander just wanted to give Sarah a good life, but he messed up. He was about to tell Justin the truth, but he blamed everything on the job. Justin assured Xander that he was going to investigate the job and he wouldn’t stop him until he helped Xander. He walked out of the room. Xander began to get nervous. He called Gwen and asked her to create a fake employment contract for him. She wanted to bring it to him because she didn’t want to have a paper trail. Xander met with Gwen. They talked about the contract. Bonnie was in the area and heard Xander talking. She realized that he was the one who kidnapped him once she heard his voice.

Johnny talked to Chanel about what happened to his mother and Ava. She was surprised and hugged him. Allie walked in just as they were hugging each other. Allie admitted that she knew what happened since Thanksgiving. Chanel didn’t understand why she was just hearing about it. Allie apologized for keeping it from her. Chanel was overwhelmed because of what’s going on with Abe and Paulina. They all promise to be there for each other. Johnny had to leave so Chanel wondered what was happening. He said he had to meet Wendy. EJ was surprised to see his aunt Sister Mary Moira Banks at his door. She wanted answers about what happened to her sister. She gave him a hard time about finding out about Susan from someone else. He told her that he did everything he could to help her. She didn’t want him to keep making excuses. He reminds her that his mother is dead. He calmed down and said that he wanted forgiveness. She told him that God is the one who could forgive him. He wanted her forgiveness and not God’s forgiveness. She wasn’t happy that he didn’t start the funeral arrangements for Susan. She thought he was shaming her in life and death.

Nicole was upset that Eric hire Sloan as his lawyer. Sloan blamed her for why Jada didn’t have the baby. Nicole denied it and yelled at Eric about it. They started arguing with each other. Sloan was tired of hearing them argue and gave him her business card. She let him know that her home address was on the back of it. Nicole told Eric that she wasn’t sleeping with EJ. She told him that EJ gave her and Holly a place to stay. Eric was upset by it, but Nicole told him about his jealousy towards EJ. He called her out for getting mad that he was talking to Sloan and that she blamed her for why his baby was gone. She hated seeing Eric like that and she told him that EJ was looking better than he is. He told her that he wasn’t a saint and she wasn’t either. They continue to go back and forth until he realized that her opinion didn’t matter to him anymore. Nicole wanted to know if they were breaking up. Eric reminded her they weren’t together. He didn’t want to make the same mistakes. She didn’t think they would work.

John couldn’t believe Kristen was getting Rachel’s hopes up about her getting back together with Brady. He knew they were never going to get back together. Marlena wasn’t sure since Kristen was a good manipulator. John wanted to stop her. Marlena wasn’t sure how they would do that. Brady walked in and found Susan in the room. Brady was about to call Marlena to let her know that Susan was alive when Kristen took off the disguise. Brady wondered why she was dressed that way. She told him that she couldn’t console EJ for losing his mother so she wanted to console him dressed that way. He didn’t think it would work plus it would be a cruel thing to do. She wanted to assure EJ that Susan’s death wasn’t his fault. Brady was surprised that she wanted to do something like that, but he told her it was cruel. Kristen cried and told him that she treated Susan badly. Brady consoled her when John, Rachel and Marlena walked in the townhouse. John and Brady took Rachel to bed. Marlena told Kristen to stop getting Rachel’s hopes up that she was going to marry Brady. John confronted Brady about finding Kristen in his arms. He told John that he was just consoling her. He said he would never fall for her again.

EJ found Nicole drinking at the bar. She apologized for what happened to Susan. He appreciated that and wanted to know if she needed to talk. She told him what happened with Eric. She admitted that things would have been better for her and Eric if Jada wasn’t pregnant. Things were worse now that she doesn’t have the baby. EJ thought that Eric would come around. Nicole knew the lines were crossed and they couldn’t come back from it. EJ was able to relate to that because he crossed the line and it cost his mother her life. They kept drinking when she said that she didn’t have anywhere to go. EJ offered to let her stay in one of his guest rooms. She agreed to stay with him. She stumbled trying to get up. EJ helped her get up. Eric saw them together and glared at them.

Chanel talked to Allie about her concerns about staying in jail. Shawn brought Sloan in to see her. She let her know that she was going to be her worst nightmare. Allie tried to defend Chanel to Sloan, but she didn’t want to hear it. She didn’t think her mother’s death was accidental. Sloan blamed Chanel for her mother’s death. Trask walked in the room and let them know that she had a warrant for Paulina’s arrest. She wanted Shawn to arrest Paulina for covering Sloan’s mother’s murder. Sloan smirked in the background. Kate brought tea to Jada to help her with her morning sickness. Jada told her about her everything that happened earlier. She let her know that she was getting an abortion. Kate wondered if someone talked her into getting the abortion. Jada didn’t name any names, but she told her about her conversation with Nicole. Jada wanted to be a mother, but not like that. Kate apologized to her for getting hurt. She wanted to know what was next for her. She let Kate know that she was going to focus on her career. Kate told her that she was the same way, but it’s nice to have someone in your life.

Kate hoped they could still be friends. Jada was fine with it. Eric wanted answers from Nicole. He wanted to know if she talked Jada into getting an abortion. Nicole refused to let Jada make her out to be the bad guy about the baby. She was ready to confront Jada, but he said she was too late. He let her know the baby was gone. She admitted that she hoped there wasn’t a baby and asked if he was satisfied. She apologized to him for talking to Jada behind his back. She wasn’t sorry for wishing they could avoid a complication. He knew it was complicated, but he enjoyed the idea of being a father. She brought up the fact that she couldn’t give him children. He was happy raising Holly, but he thought they could raise the baby together. She told him how he excluded her from the Thanksgiving announcement. He told her that she broke his trust by going to Jada behind his back. He was upset that the baby was gone. Nicole wanted to know if he was upset about the baby being gone or her role in it. EJ went to the crash site to lay flowers on the ground. Rafe showed up and wanted to question him about what happened. He told Rafe what happened. Rafe believed there was more to the story. He warned EJ that he could arrest him for obstructing justice. He decided not to arrest him because he went through enough. EJ appreciated that and handed him the flask he had. Rafe took a sip from the flask. EJ was shocked that Rafe wanted to drink on the job. Rafe told him about him and Nicole getting a divorce. EJ wanted to know if Eric was the reason why they are getting divorced. Rafe confirmed EJ’s suspicions and told him that there was trouble in paradise. Rafe gets called back to work so he wanted EJ to come to the station the next day. EJ wanted to sit there and wallow. Rafe made him promise not to drive. Eric went to see Marlena and told her about the baby. Marlena thought it was good news, but Eric noticed she had hesitation in her voice. She wanted to know if he wanted the baby. He told her that he wanted it. He said he and Jada had to figure out how to co-parent together while he dated Nicole. he hoped Nicole didn’t feel threatened. Marlena advised him to talk to her.

She was proud of him. Li was disappointed because they didn’t have pie. Gabi continued to express how upset she was that Nicole was able to live happily with Eric. Rafe told her that it might not happen since Jada’s pregnant. Gabi loved the karma of it all, but Rafe didn’t want to gloat about it. He wanted to focus on happier things. Li wanted him to think about the wedding. Rafe agreed and made a toast. Nicole thought about Eric’s conversation about Jada and the baby. She walked away. Eric let Jada know that he was happy that she decided to keep the baby. She thought they would make it work and wondered how Nicole felt. He thought Nicole would support them. She told him that Nicole was insecure and territorial. She didn’t think Nicole would take the news well. He wanted Jada to trust him. She wanted to go upstairs to pack, but he asked her not to leave.

Justin was surprised that she would go without telling him about it. He called Mimi to find out what happened, but she told him that she wasn’t there. Justin talked to Maggie and she told him that Bonnie was on her way to the shed. Justin and Alex headed to the shed. Xander had food for Bonnie and Susan. Bonnie yelled at him, but he said they would be there until EJ paid the ransom. Bonnie didn’t understand why EJ wouldn’t pay the ransom. Susan was able to hear her thoughts and told her not to talk about her son that way. Bonnie was shocked that she was able to hear her thoughts. Susan assured her that EJ would pay the ransom. EJ wanted to know why Ava didn’t get in touch with him yet. Tony warned him that it could be over since he wouldn’t pay the ransom. He told EJ that he’s just as bad as Ava since he kidnapped Tripp. EJ and Tony started arguing until Anna walked in the room. Tony updated her on what happened. Anna didn’t understand why he would want to kidnap someone like Tripp. EJ said he went after Tripp to even the stakes with Ava. Tony and Anna tried to convince him to let Tripp go. Ava called EJ and let him know that Tripp was safe. She told him that his stunt would cost him another $10 million. EJ agreed to her demand, but wanted to see his mother. She would send him a place to meet. Ava was happy that she got EJ to pay more money. Charlie thought she could have got more. He thought she should kill Susan. He realized that Jack was out of town and said that Gwen would be the one who could help them. Gwen wanted to get a comment from Chanel, but she wasn’t at the bakery. She ran into Sonny and wanted his comment. He refused to give her one and walked off. Sloane was more than willing to talk to Gwen. She told her that she didn’t want her comment since she was the reason she got arrested. Sloane told her that she was the one who turned in the file over to Trask. She let her know that she would email her a copy of the file. She wanted everyone to know that Paulina had two murderers for children. Later, Gwen was reading the email when Chad showed up. She was surprised by the email. Chad told her the allegations weren’t proven. Gwen didn’t care about that. She thought the file looked legit. He asked her not to do Sloane’s dirty work. Bonnie went to the shed so Xander panicked. He put on the clown costume to go out to the shed. Bonnie tried to free Susan. Bonnie tried to fend him off, but he was too strong for her. He tied her up. Xander walked out. Bonnie tried to scream for help. She wasn’t too worried because Maggie knew she was there. She knew Maggie would get them help. She realized that she brought her phone, but she lost it somewhere. Xander went back to the mansion. Victor got in digs about him. Sarah was paged so Maggie said there would only be four of them for dinner. Maggie got up to look for Bonnie. Victor said it was too dark and suggested Xander look for her. Xander asked Maggie if she got a text. She found out that Bonnie had to rush to Mimi. Xander said he walked out so they were celebrating alone. Xander went back to the shed to show Bonnie the text he sent on her behalf. She realized that if he sent a text about Mimi, then he knew her. He put the gag back on her mouth. Ava couldn’t get in touch with Tripp so she let EJ know that she would kill him if something happened to Tripp. Charlie thought it was funny that EJ thought he got the best of her. She saw that coming. EJ texted her and told her to release Susan. She was going to call Xander, but Charlie stopped her. He told her that EJ was being ruthless and thought she should be the same way.

Jada showed up at Basic Black and saw Eric and Nicole making out. She cried and walked away. Eric pulled away from Nicole and thought they lost their heads. Bonnie told Maggie that Chanel was arrested for murder. They also talked about what’s going on between Xander and Victor. They were about to interrogate a drug lord from the Midwest when she told him about Nicole’s visit. He didn’t know Nicole was taking pictures for Eric. He didn’t know anything about it. He wondered if she kept it from him because of what happened between them. They agreed to start trusting Eric and Nicole more. Brady overheard Chloe talking on the phone with Nancy about him. He wanted to apologize to her again. They ended up fighting because of Halloween. He was concerned she was going to be with Stefan. He reminded her what Stefan did to Abby. She didn’t want to hear that after he allowed Kristen to move in with him. She wanted to get the truth out of him, but Alex, Nicole and Eric interrupted them. They started their photo shoot. Nicole did a photo shoot with Brady, but he was uncomfortable and walked out. Chloe wanted to know what Brady was going to say when they walked in the room. Alex saw Eric and Nicole together and picked up on their sexual tension. Alex thought Eric should be in the pictures with Nicole.

Stephanie talked to Chad about Paulina firing her. She let him know that Paulina planned to ruin her business. Chad let her know that EJ offered him a job at DiMera. She told him to let EJ know that he changed his mind. He said that he liked working for her. Susan locked the doors at the mansion. EJ wanted to know what she was doing. She told EJ that he was in danger. She told him that someone was out to get him. She told him that he didn’t have the doors locked. He told her that there wasn’t any danger. He wanted to know why she was dressed the way she was. She told him that she had a premonition that someone was after him. Charlie appeared to Ava. He couldn’t believe he heard her say that she wasn’t going after EJ. He didn’t understand why she would do that. Ava said that she was going to live with Tripp. He wanted her to go after EJ. She wanted to know why it was wrong with going to Seattle. Susan continued to convince EJ that he was in danger. He thought she might have been right. He told her that he saw someone dressed as a clown carrying a knife. He told her that three people were dressed as a clown. She said she didn’t see a prank in her premonition. she assured him that she wasn’t joking. Alex got the folder from Sloan. Maggie and Holly were there to get candy. He gave the folder to Maggie and asked her to hold on to it.

Stephanie continued to talk to Chad about messing up with Sloan. She couldn’t believe that she messed up getting the file. He tried to make her feel better about what happened. He was flirting with Stephanie when his kids came downstairs. Susan wanted to know who wanted to hurt EJ. He said it was a long list. She wanted to know who would go after him. He said that Johnny might be the one targeting him. She couldn’t believe her grandson would kill him. Charlie thought Joey would kill Ava. She didn’t think Joey would go after her. He wanted to know what she would do when she got to Seattle. He reminded her that she was a terrible mother and what she did to the Bradys. He told her they were alike. He told her to go after EJ. Alex told Sloan that he couldn’t stay at her place. Ava told Charlie they weren’t alike. He told her they were two people desperate for love. Charlie reminded her that none of the men in her life loved her. He said he was the only one who loved her. He said he came back to help her destroy EJ. EJ told Susan what happened with Johnny and Ava. Susan couldn’t believe that Johnny would go after him. Susan found a picture of EJ and Johnny because she hoped it would help her. She asked the spirits if Johnny was the one after EJ. She told him that whatever was out there wanted to make him suffer. Charlie continued to push for Ava to go after EJ.

Alex wanted Stephanie to print up a press release. She told him that she said she needed his help with Paulina first. She knew the file she was looking for was in Sloan’s cabinet. He was sure he knew where the key was, but he didn’t think it was a good idea to steal from Sloan. Stephanie thought Sloan crossed the line when she went after Paulina. She told him about what Paulina could do for the town as governor. He let her know what she was asking of him. He wasn’t comfortable going over there with an agenda. She walked out the room. Paulina left a message on Stephanie’s phone about the file. She thanked Stephanie for everything she did to calm down the threat. Sloan showed up at Paulina’s office to let her know that she knew about Stephanie and Chad’s counterfeit money scheme. She told Paulina that the price went up now thanks to their scheme. Sloan wanted her to put the money in an offshore account. She gave Paulina the account number. She said if the money wasn’t in her account by the next day, her career and Chanel’s life would be over. Later, Sloan and Alex were intimate with each other. He blindfolded her so he could get in her file cabinet. He found the file marked Price and was going to look through it. The doorbell rang while he was looking in the file.

Stephanie went to see Paulina. She fired Stephanie on the spot. She begged Paulina to give her a chance to fix things. Paulina didn’t have a choice. She had to pay the blackmailer. Stephanie apologized to her. She said she would be sorrier when she told Victor and her other clients to leave her. Kayla tried to convince Joey to stay in Salem. He didn’t think it was a good idea to stay in town. She wanted him to be happy wherever he is. He noticed a present she got. She looked at the card and saw that it was from Orpheus. Steve walked in the room so Kayla told him about the card from Orpheus. Kayla thought Orpheus would be thinking about her, Kate and Marlena now that he’s back in Statesville. Steve made a call and found out that Kate and Marlena got the same card. He assured Kayla that Orpheus wouldn’t win.
