Arnold cooks breakfast at Rafe’s home while playing music loud until Jada comes out from the bedroom. Arnold turns off the music and says he’s sorry if he woke her. Jada talks about taking a nap because she doesn’t get much sleep while working multiple high profile cases. Jada says the breakfast smells perfect and they go to kiss but are interrupted by EJ showing up at the door.

Stephanie sits at home with her invitation to Rafe and Jada’s wedding when she gets a call from Philip. Stephanie answers and repeats that she has nothing to say to him. Philip says he knows and he just wanted to thank her for not telling Xander about Victor’s letter as it’s a lot to ask and he’d appreciate her doing it for him. Stephanie clarifies that she did it for Sarah, not him.

Sarah sits in the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion. Sarah talks to the portrait of Victor, saying it’s his secret that got them in to this mess in the first place but she’s trying to keep the peace, stop Xander from murdering Philip or from turning in to Victor which would happen if Xander was in full control of Titan. Sarah comments on feeling guilty about it. Xander walks in and asks what she would feel guilty about. Sarah says she just feels guilty not being there for Justin. Xander insists that there’s nothing she could’ve done about Bonnie falling down the elevator shaft. Sarah says her heart still goes out to him as it’s a terrible tragedy.

Alex goes to the hospital and hugs Justin, asking how he’s holding up. Justin says as well as could be expected. Alex asks if he’s seen Bonnie yet. Justin says that Kayla told him to prepare himself. Alex suggests they go together which Justin says he would like. Bonnie is unconscious in a hospital bed with cuts and bruises on her face as they enter the room. Bonnie wakes up, holding back tears. Justin and Alex sit by her side. Justin tells her that Kayla said she will be just fine, so all she has to do is rest. Justin tells Bonnie not to talk since her jaw is banged up. Bonnie worries about the pages of dialogue she has to learn for Body and Soul. Justin tells her not to worry about that anymore and declares that she is done acting on the show. Alex advises him not to overreact. Justin says that he’s already made it crystal clear to Abe and Kate that they are not to contact Bonnie and declares that she is to never go back to that set, feeling that she could’ve been killed.

Xander tells Sarah that you never know what life is going to throw at you since at one moment, Bonnie was on top of the world with Body and Soul and then next she almost plummets to her doom. Xander tells Sarah that he feels lucky to be married to the most compassionate woman in the world and hugs her.

Stephanie tells Philip that Sarah believes Xander needs someone to reign him in at Titan, even if it’s someone as morally bankrupt as Philip. Stephanie tells Philip that he’s the one who has to live with tricking his own brother out of his birthright. Philip reiterates that he truly believes Victor would want him to run the company. Stephanie tells him to save it as she’s tired of him trying to justify what he did when it was wrong. Philip says he’s still grateful for her keeping the secret. Stephanie hates that he roped her in to it and used her. Philip repeats that he’s sorry. Stephanie responds that she’s sorry for ever believing he was capable of change, when he’s still the same selfish, manipulative liar he’s always been. Stephanie talks about defending him and considering getting back together with him, but she’s thankful she got out early this time. Stephanie tells Philip to stop calling and leave her alone, as he got what he wanted and what she wants is to be out of this whole thing. Stephanie prays that Xander never finds out for Sarah and Philip’s sake as she then hangs up.

EJ says he just stopped by for an update from his private investigator “Rafe”. Jada suggests he could have called but EJ says it’s a very personal matter, so he prefers to discuss it in person. EJ asks Arnold if he’s had any luck tracking down Sloan Peterson. Jada says she will let them talk and head to work. EJ hopes her number one priority is finding his niece and remarks that if Rafe was still commissioner, Rachel would be found by now. Jada assures that she had the entire department working overnight to find her. EJ remarks that he and Kristen don’t want to hear her excuses. EJ orders Jada to locate Rachel immediately or he will sue the police department immediately. Jada calls EJ a bully who has no concept of what goes in to a missing persons search. Jada tells “Rafe” that she will see him for dinner and exits. EJ asks Arnold what he just walked in on and what is going on between he and Jada or what went on last night. EJ hopes Arnold did not lay a finger on Jada. Arnold tells him to relax as he did not touch her. EJ questions where his shirt and pants are. Arnold responds that he gets hot when he cooks. Arnold tells EJ that he slept alone since Jada was out all night looking for Rachel and when he got up, she was coming home, so they didn’t share a bed at all. EJ reminds Arnold to stay focused on his job which is making Jada pay for costing him his job.

Xander asks Sarah how things are going on the job front. Sarah says she’s going to follow up with Kayla at the hospital and check on Bonnie while she’s there. Xander says to send his best to Bonnie and Justin. Xander adds that he should get going to do as he has lots to do at Titan. Sarah notes that he almost sounds enthusiastic. Xander admits things are going well since he adjusted his attitude. Sarah says it seems like his partnership with Philip might work out. Xander says he promised her and Maggie that he would try to get along with Philip and admits it’s nice to look forward to going to work instead of being filled with dread. Xander adds that it’s not like he has much choice thanks to Victor’s letter. Xander tells Sarah to have a great day and exits.

Justin tells Alex and Bonnie that he’s going to sue Body and Soul, declaring he will grind them in to dust. Alex tries to tell him to take it easy. Justin calls it gross negligence and willful misconduct. Alex knows Justin is angry but calls it an accident. Justin questions Alex taking his employer’s side over his own family. Alex argues that Kate and Abe didn’t mean for this to happen. Justin argues that Bonnie almost died thanks to them not caring about the safety of their employees, so he’s going to make them pay. Alex remarks that Justin sounds like Victor. Bonnie tries to argue that it was an accident. Bonnie’s phone rings with a call from Richard from the wardrobe department. Justin answers the call and tells him that Bonnie broke nearly every bone in her body and is in agony. Justin asks what was so important that she had to have a last minute fitting. Justin says he’s blaming him because his text sent this whole thing in motion. Richard then reveals that the wardrobe department never sent Bonnie a text. Alex says that makes no sense. Justin notes that he was on the phone with Bonnie when she got the text. Justin wonders why Richard would lie. Alex suggests maybe he was afraid of getting fired. Justin remarks that he should be fired but admits maybe he scared him in to lying. Alex suggests checking Bonnie’s texts, so Justin checks and finds the text but notes that it came from an unknown number. Justin points out that when Richard called, he saw the name, so Alex questions why it wouldn’t come up on the text.

Arnold comments on EJ really having it in for Jada. EJ says that Jada convinced Paulina to have him fired, so turnabout is fair play. EJ tells Arnold that he’s going to do to Jada what she did to him and get her canned. EJ adds that he’s going to use Arnold to do it.

Jada goes to the hospital and calls Shawn, telling he or JJ to let her know the second they find anything on Rachel. Jada calls this case of the utmost importance. Jada then hangs up and sees Stephanie at the hospital. Jada tells her that she was up all night searching for Rachel and now she has to question Bonnie. Stephanie asks if she couldn’t get a detective to do it. Jada says that Paulina asked her to pay special attention to the Body and Soul case. Stephanie adds that she’s there for Bonnie too and to make sure the media isn’t hounding her. Stephanie can’t believe Bonnie stepped in to an empty elevator shaft. Jada calls it a freak accident. Stephanie swears that it’s been one crisis after another ever since she took on Body and Soul as a client. Jada adds that on top of all that, Stephanie is dealing with a break up. Stephanie admits it hasn’t been fun but it’s for the best. Jada notes that she never told her exactly what happened and asks why she ended things with Philip.

Xander goes to the Titan office and greets Philip. Philip questions him giving a genuinely friendly greeting. Xander reminds him that they were friendly yesterday. Philip says that co-existing will take some getting used to. Xander says he wants them to be a team to make Titan the best it can be. Xander remarks that is what Victor wants or else he wouldn’t have written that letter. Xander says they have both wanted this for so long, so they should make Victor proud. Philip asks if he wants a coffee. Xander says he’s good and they can just get to work. Xander assures he won’t pitch any more hostile takeovers as Philip was right that it would be good to not start any wars with the DiMeras right now. Philip changes his tune and says that maybe Xander was right. Philip declares that Xander said they want to make Victor proud, so maybe they can do it by accomplishing what Victor never could in taking over the DiMera empire.

Sarah goes to see Kayla in her office at the hospital. Sarah mentions being sure that Kayla is swamped with Bonnie’s accident. Kayla talks about feeling bad since she’s the one who convinced Seth Burns to let them film at the hospital. Kayla imagines Seth is distancing himself now. Sarah asks how Bonnie is. Kayla says that her long term prognosis is good but her injuries are severe. Sarah says she and Xander were just talking about the accident. Kayla calls it crazy, noting that Bonnie fell two stories with nothing to break her fall. Sarah says she will check on Bonnie and Justin before going home. Kayla knows they would appreciate that. Kayla thanks Sarah for the research she left for her and says it was excellent. Sarah says she was happy to do it and she learned a lot. Sarah mentions running in to Stephanie and getting to chat while waiting for her. Sarah is sure seeing Kayla made Stephanie feel better. Kayla comments that Stephanie is definitely bummed out about the way things ended with Philip. Sarah asks if Stephanie told her why they broke up. Kayla responds that Stephanie told her everything as they don’t have any secrets, so Sarah questions Kayla knowing what Philip did and what exactly Stephanie told her. Kayla says that Stephanie just said Philip behaved in a way that hurt her and that he wasn’t totally honest about a business maneuver. Sarah asks if she didn’t get in to specifics. Kayla says she didn’t and asks if she told Sarah something more. Sarah flashes back to her conversation with Stephanie, but tells Kayla that she told her the same thing.

Xander tells Philip that he was adamant that going after DiMera was a terrible idea, so he questions what changed his mind. Philip thinks back to his conversation with Sarah about having to work with Xander and not against him. Philip then tells Xander that he realized working together means he needs to compromise. Xander calls this quite the reversal since Philip’s whole speech about not wanting to operate that way. Philip feels he has to be flexible. Xander brings up that Philip also went on about how dangerous the feud was with the DiMeras, especially for Stephanie. Philip then reveals that he and Stephanie broke up, so Xander questions what happened there.

Jada tells Stephanie that she doesn’t have to tell her why she and Philip broke up if it’s too personal. Stephanie acknowledges Jada as her best friend and says she will tell her, so Jada asks why they broke up. Stephanie flashes back to talking to Sarah about keeping the secret. Stephanie then tells Jada that she just saw a side of Philip that she can’t stand, that puts power above everything else at Titan. Stephanie says the way he does business just doesn’t sit right with her. Stephanie adds that some people might not let one side of a person affect the whole relationship, but she can’t. Jada respects that and says she couldn’t be with a guy whose work life was shady either. Stephanie points out that Rafe is the opposite of shady and one of the best. Jada tells Stephanie that she’s so sorry she’s going through this. Stephanie points out that now she has extra free time to help out with Jada’s wedding. Jada says that’s kind of her but suggests she use her free time to get a massage. Stephanie insists on wanting to pitch in on the wedding if there’s anything she can do. Jada then asks Stephanie to be her maid of honor.

Arnold asks EJ how he’s supposed to get the police commissioner fired and what he wants him to do. EJ wants Arnold to expose Jada for the corrupt cop she is. Arnold remarks that she seems squeaky clean to him. EJ argues that no one is that clean including Jada. Arnold questions wanting him to dig up dirt on her. EJ decides he will do the digging and tells Arnold to concentrate on the exposing.

Alex suggests maybe someone else from wardrobe sent the text to Bonnie. Justin points out that Richard said they didn’t need Bonnie for a fitting, so he asks why they would text her. Bonnie struggles to speak so Justin encourages her to forget about all of this and try to rest. Alex decides he will step out to give them some alone time. Justin tells Alex that he doesn’t like this, so they need to contact the police. Alex says he’s on it and exits the room. Justin tells Bonnie not to worry as they will get to the bottom of this.

Stephanie is excited by Jada asking her to be her maid of honor and asks what about her sister. Jada says that Talia sadly can’t make it. Jada tells Stephanie that she’s like a sister to her. Stephanie feels the same and says she would love to stand up for her at her wedding as they hug.

Philip informs Xander that he and Stephanie just didn’t see eye to eye, so she’s not a factor anymore. Xander questions him now being all in on going after DiMera. Philip admits he may have been a bit hasty and standing in his way just because he could. Philip says they would have to think through a hostile takeover and consider the timing. Xander assures the timing is now, pointing out that EJ and Chad are out while Kristen is distracted. Philip notes that’s because Kristen’s daughter is missing and feels that’s a bit ruthless. Xander asks if Philip went soft. Philip says he hasn’t but he does have lines he won’t cross. Xander feels this is not one of those lines. Philip questions Xander suggesting they profit off a missing child who also happens to be Brady’s child. Xander argues that Brady or Kristen could have Rachel stashed somewhere in their never ending custody battle. Xander is confident that Rachel will turn up safe and sound. Xander feels they need to strike while Kristen is distracted. Philip brings up that Kristen did try to blackmail Xander with the serum for Sarah’s paralysis. Xander complains that Kristen wanted to barter for Sarah’s future, just like she did with Kate’s life and the orchid. Philip admits Kristen is a cold hearted snake. Xander says that when Kristen wanted Titan, she just saw them as her biggest competitor and she wanted to be unstoppable. Xander points out that Kristen had absolutely no problem or sympathy when he was at his worst and didn’t hesitate to try to take everything. Xander asks why they should hesitate now that the shoe is on the other foot.

Alex comes over to Jada and Stephanie. Stephanie asks how Bonnie is. Alex says she has broken bones and a broken jaw, so it’s pretty bad but she will be okay eventually. Stephanie and Jada say they are sorry. Jada says that Paulina wanted her to look in to what happened. Alex offers to take Jada to Bonnie’s room but Jada says she will find it and walks off, leaving Alex with Stephanie.

Arnold asks EJ what happens after he exposes Jada with the dirt that EJ digs up. EJ responds that Paulina will have no choice but to toss Jada out on her ass. Arnold questions who Paulina would get to replace Jada. EJ tells him that it would be Arnold, posing as Rafe. Arnold still doesn’t get what EJ is getting out of this outside of seeing Jada lose her job. EJ assures that he’ll get far more because Arnold will convince Paulina that Jada was fired because EJ was on to her corruption and then Paulina will have no choice but to hire him back.

Jada joins Justin in Bonnie’s hospital room. Jada tells Bonnie that she’s so sorry about what happened but she’s thankful she survived such a terrible accident. Justin responds that he’s not so sure that Bonnie’s fall was an accident.

Sarah informs Kayla that her physical therapist lifted all restrictions and she has full range of motion and that she was given the all clear to perform surgery as well. Kayla responds that she reviewed her records, so she would love for Sarah to come back to work at the hospital full time, effective immediately. Sarah says she’s so relieved. Kayla never doubted that Sarah would be back. Kayla calls her a wonderful doctor and friend, noting that she’s so glad she was there for Stephanie the other night. Kayla hates that Stephanie is hurting but feels like maybe she dodged a bullet with Philip. Kayla points out that when they were involved before, Philip almost got Stephanie killed and not to mention what happened with Brady when Philip was mentally ill. Kayla admits she always had this feeling that Philip is somehow broken and can’t be fixed. Kayla doesn’t know if he was born that way or if it’s something Victor put him through. Kayla feels it’s just a matter of time before Philip would do something to really hurt Stephanie or someone else.

Stephanie tells Alex that it’s so weird about Bonnie’s text. Alex is glad that Jada is looking in to it. Stephanie informs him that Jada just asked her to be her maid of honor and she was so touched. Alex brings up Philip but Stephanie reveals that Philip won’t be accompanying her to the wedding because she broke up with him.

Philip tells Xander that he’s right that Kristen clearly has no qualms about hitting them when they are down as she’s done it before and will do it again while Stefano is the definition of ruthless. Xander points out that Victor was too. Xander asks if they are really doing this and if the Kiriakis Brothers are going after the DiMeras. Philip declares it is game on and that Kristen and the rest of those losers won’t know what hit them.

Arnold asks EJ how Jada and Rafe’s wedding fits in to his big plan since Jada won’t want to get married after he ruins her career. Arnold suggests calling off the wedding but EJ says absolutely not. EJ tells Arnold that if all goes according to plan, the union of Jada and Rafe will definitely be an affair to remember.

Justin talks with Jada about the text Bonnie got and the possibility of it being a mistake or if it was more nefarious and someone wanted Bonnie to fall down the elevator shaft. Justin says he’s not saying that’s what happened but they can’t rule it out. Jada questions who would do it and who would want to hurt Bonnie. Justin doesn’t know but suggests it could have been the same person who poisoned the cupcakes and whoever is behind it may have tried o kill Bonnie.

Michael tells Carly he wants to go to Germany for treatment so Jack Brennan arranges for a medical flight with a nurse to take Michael and Carly to Germany. Michael tells Carly he wants to talk to Sasha so Portia says that Michael is handling the pain so he can stay awake until after he talks to Sasha but then he will have to sedate him again. Willow wants to talk to him before Sasha. Willow apologizes to Michael for hurting him by sleeping with Drew. Willow tells Michael despite what happened with Drew she is thankful that he made her a mother and she will always love him. Michael has a spasm and the monitors go off.

Portia later tells Sonny, Carly, and Sasha that Michael had to be sedated because his immune system can’t take being awakened again right now. Carly says goodbye to Sonny before she leaves to get on the medical plane with Michael.

Ava tells Kristina she still intends to have her testify in Avery’s custody hearing and Kristina warns Ava not to push her and Alexis tells Ava to stay away from Kristina.

Jack tells Anna the WSB knows the type of incendiary device used in the explosion of Sonny’s penthouse but he doesn’t think any three letter agency would want to kill Sonny because the incendiary device is used by other governments not three letter agencies.

Anna asks Jason to try and persuade Tracy to tell him where Wiley and Amelia are, but Tracy chooses to be arrested instead of telling Jason the location of the children.

Ava asks Sonny to give her custody of Avery because she is in danger with him. Sonny says no, that Avery is fine. Ava tells Sonny that her lawyer, Martin, will show the court pictures of Michael’s burns and she will get custody of Avery. Sonny has chest pains after Ava leaves his office then he falls to the floor unconscious.

Sharon has a hallucination that Nick is telling her that she has to save herself because he and the police have tried to find her but they don’t know her location. Sharon tells Nick that she feels week and scared and she doesn’t think she can save herself.

Chance and Nick talk at the motel and Chance tells Nick that they put the fingerprints from the lipstick stained glass and the prints belong to Jordan Howard. Chance called the prison where Jordan was being held and the guard took a picture of the woman in the cell and sent the picture to Chance. Chance and Nick look at the picture and know the woman in the cell is an imposter. Chance and Nick head to the ranch and once they get there they tell Victor all the details about how Jordan is Ian’s accomplice and they think that one or both of them killed Heather and kidnapped Sharon.

Claire hides Jordan in the tack house at the ranch with the permission of Nikki and Victoria. Claire figures out that Jordan is working with Ian and Jordan tells Claire that Ian killed Jordan but the truth is that she killed Heather. Claire also gets Jordan to trust her enough to tell her she is keeping Sharon in a safe place. Jordan is about to drink her cup of oolong tea with agave and half and half when Claire tells her to wait.

Alex took Joy to work. She admitted that she was nervous about going to the set. Abe wanted to see her, but she didn’t know why. She wasn’t sure if Abe was going to fire her. Bonnie wanted to talk to Johnny about cutting a scene out of the show. Johnny didn’t care because he had more important things to worry about. Bonnie admitted that she heard about his problems with Joy from Seth. He couldn’t believe he let jealousy get in the way of his marriage. Bonnie wondered if he and Joy used protection. He informed her they didn’t take things that far. She didn’t hide her surprise. Bonnie wondered why Chanel was upset if they didn’t have sex. He didn’t sleep with Joy, but he betrayed her trust by lying to her. Johnny informed her that Chanel quit the show. She couldn’t believe it. How was she getting written out of the show? Bonnie knew that Reagan and Arrow were going to have a baby but didn’t know how Faith would be written out. Abe called Kate and told her that Leo figured out the identity of Lady Whistleblower. He told her that Leo thought it was Javi. Alex and Joy arrived at the set. Abe told them that he wanted to talk to them about what happened between them. He felt like their relationship could work to the show’s advantage. Reagan and Arrow are going to hook up on the show. Joy was relieved that she wasn’t getting fired. Abe didn’t like what happened between Joy and Johnny, but they had to get through it. He announced that Chanel quit the show, and it had to move on one way or another. Alex and Joy were okay with the change. He felt like their chemistry would show on screen. Abe was confused and asked if they were together. Alex assumed he knew about them being together. Abe didn’t see it as a problem. He wondered what that meant for Stephanie though.

Hattie went to see Kate. She was dressed in disguise so no one would see her on the set. Kate gave her the ground rules about her being back on the set. She wasn’t allowed to stir up drama or argue with Bonnie. Hattie promised to abide by the rules. Kate gave her a 13-week contract. Hattie refused to sign the contract. Kate told her that it was a probationary contract. Hattie didn’t think it was fair, but Kate told her it was the same contract as Bonnie’s. She had to take it or leave it. Paulina tried to talk Chanel out of quitting the soap. Chanel didn’t want to work with Johnny and Joy every day. She told her that Abe would have to resort to plan A. The plan was to kill her character off the show. Paulina advised her to go back to shoot her final scenes and thank Abe and Kate for letting her out of her contract. Chanel agreed to do it. Hattie and Bonnie were about to work on their scenes. She thought her character was being brought back from the dead. Kate informed her that she would be back after she received the flower serum. Hattie didn’t like that she wouldn’t have lines. Kate warned her to agree to the script, or she was gone. Alex and Joy didn’t know how to explain their relationship to Abe. Abe told them to figure it out and let him and Kate know. He walked away from them. Alex wanted to talk about where they stood. Joy didn’t want to pressure him since she knew about his situation with Stephanie. Alex reminded her that Stephanie moved on with Philip. He wanted to move on too. They liked spending time together. Chanel arrived at the set, and Johnny met with her. They looked at Alex and Joy together. Joy thought she quit, and Chanel told her that she was filming her last scenes. She was only there for Abe. Chanel asked Johnny how her character was going to die. He told her that Leo couldn’t come up with anything new so she was dying the same way Charlemagne did. She was going down the elevator shaft. Chanel couldn’t believe that’s how her character died. Johnny was hoping they could work things out, but she didn’t have anything to say to him. The idea of being in the same room with him and Joy was making her sick. She wanted to get the scenes over with. Joy and Chanel rehearsed their scenes. Chanel slapped Joy very hard but said she was in character. Joy couldn’t wait for Chanel to go down the elevator shaft. Later Abe went home and talked to Paulina about what happened on the set. He also told her who Leo thought was Lady Whistleblower. Paulina thought his theory wasn’t concrete. Leo burst into Javi’s room to confront Kerry about being Lady Whistleblower. Javi thought Leo was talking about him, but he wasn’t. Leo told him that Kerry was the guilty party. He called Kerry evil and said he couldn’t spell. Kerry denied his accusation. Javi wondered if he truly believed that Kerry was Lady Whistleblower, and Leo said he did. Kerry said it was Leo’s jealousy doing the talking. Leo told Javi about the clues that led to his accusations. He told him about the trap he set up for Kerry. After listening to Leo, Javi asked Kerry if it was true. Kerry continued to deny it. Leo said they were the only ones who knew about the devil possession storyline. Kerry said someone could have listened to them. Leo had more proof because he had surveillance of Kerry breaking into his room and stealing his computer. Javi wanted to know why Kerry did it. Kerry told him that he was a fan of the show and tried to seduce Leo only to get humiliated. Leo said he wasn’t ready to commit and that didn’t justify what he did. Javi heard enough. Kerry wanted to know if Javi was going to break up with him. Javi was finished with him because of what he did.

While “Rafe” and Jada were spending time together, EJ showed up. They wondered why EJ was there. EJ said he wanted to check on his detective. He made a comment about Jada not finding Rachel. When Jada was about to leave, she tried to kiss “Rafe.” EJ interrupted them. After Jada left, EJ demanded to know what was going on between him and Jada. Arnold told EJ he didn’t touch Jada and that they didn’t sleep in the same bed. EJ wanted to talk about the plan of using Arnold to get Jada fired. Arnold wasn’t sure how he could get her fired, but EJ said he would get information on her and Arnold could use it to expose her. He asked EJ who would take Jada’s place when Rafe got fired. EJ said Rafe would take her place and convince Paulina to hire him (EJ) back for being on to Jada’s corruption. Alex went to the hospital to check on Justin and Bonnie. Kayla warned them to prepare themselves for what they were about to see. They were shocked when they saw Bonnie. Bonnie woke up and was concerned about learning her lines. Justin let her know that she didn’t have to worry about the lines because she wasn’t going back to Body and Soul again. Bonnie was upset when Justin told her that she wasn’t going back to the set. Justin threatened to sue the show. Alex said what happened to Bonnie was an accident. Justin said his wife almost died because of their negligence. Bonnie tried to say something, but Justin wouldn’t let her. When her phone rang, it was the wardrobe department from the show. He yelled at them for sending the text that started the trouble, but they said they didn’t send a text. Justin, Bonnie, and Alex talked about Richard (wardrobe department) and wondered if he lied. Justin looked through Bonnie’s phone and saw that the text was from an unknown number. They try to figure out the truth. Alex left the room to call the police. Justin let Bonnie know they were going to figure out what happened.

Philip called Stephanie and thanked her for not telling Xander the truth. Stephanie let him know that she didn’t do it for him. She said she did it for Sarah and said Philip would be the one who had to live with what he did to his brother. Stephanie ripped into him for being a terrible person and told him to leave her alone. She said she hoped Xander never found out the truth and hung up the phone. Stephanie went to the hospital to see Bonnie and ran into Jada. She told Jada that she has been stressed out over everything that happened as well as her break up with Philip. Jada wondered what happened. Stephanie said she couldn’t deal with Philip’s business deals. The good news was she was free to help Jada plan her wedding. Jada asked her to be her maid of honor to which Stephanie said yes. Alex showed up to tell them how Bonnie was doing. He suggested Jada to talk to his father about what happened. Xander showed up at Titan and told Philip that he wanted them to be partners and make Victor proud of them. When Philip was nervous about it, Xander thought it was because he thought he wanted to start a war with the DiMeras. Philip said they should go after the DiMeras. Xander was surprised that he changed his mind. Philip told him that he and Stephanie broke up and admitted that Xander’s idea wasn’t a bad one. Xander said this was the time to do it since EJ was fired and Rachel was missing. Philip wondered if he wanted to capitalize off Brady’s child being missing. Xander said Rachel was kidnapped by her parents multiple times so it wasn’t a big deal. While Xander and Philip were talking, they talked about the things Kristen has done to them. Philip said Kristen took advantage of them so they could do the same to her. Arnold told EJ that he didn’t want to go through with the wedding, but EJ told him he was going to go through with the wedding. While Alex and Stephanie were talking about Jada and Rafe’s wedding, she let him know that she and Philip were no longer together. Jada went to see Bonnie and Justin. Justin told her that Bonnie’s fall wasn’t an accident. He wondered if someone wanted Bonnie to fall down the elevator shaft. When Jada asked who’d do something like that, Justin thought it might be the same person who poisoned the cupcakes. A mysterious person crossed out Bonnie’s picture.

Don’t look at me that way, Victor. Yes, I’m keeping a secret. It’s your secret that got us in this mess in the first place. I’m just… I’m trying to keep the peace… keep Xander from murdering Philip. And from turning into you. Which we both know would happen if he was running Titan all by himself. So… just– [sighs] I have to make sure the truth about this letter never comes out. Not that I feel any less guilty about that.

Took a pretty serious tumble. But Kayla said that you’re going to be just fine, OK? It looks like they’re taking pretty good care of you, so all you have to do is just rest.

Dad, come on. Don’t overreact.

[Bonnie whimpers]

Overreact? Are you kidding? Look, I have made it crystal clear to Abe and Kate that they are not to contact you and that you will never, ever be going back to that death trap of a set.

But Justin–

No, no. No buts. Thanks to their gross negligence, you could have been killed, Bonnie.

[Bonnie whimpering]

You just never know what life’s going to throw at you. I mean, one minute, Bonnie was on top of the world, a soap opera star on the rise. And the next, she nearly plummets to her doom.

She’s lucky to be alive, really.

[Sarah chuckles]

Sarah is worried about Xander having absolute power at Titan. She thinks he needs a check on him, someone who can rein him in, even if it’s someone as morally bankrupt as you.

Go ahead, Philip. Make jokes. But you’re the one who has to live with tricking his own brother out of his birthright.

Look, as I’ve told you, I truly believe my father would have wanted me to run the company, OK?

Well, according to Richard, the wardrobe department never sent Bonnie a text.

[Bonnie whimpers]

Wait, so wardrobe is saying that they never sent Bonnie that text?

Yeah, this guy, Richard, said that they never asked to see her for a fitting.

That doesn’t make any sense.

No, I was on the phone with Bonnie when the text came in. And you said it was from wardrobe, right?

[mumbling]

Why would Richard lie?

I mean, you sounded so angry, Dad. Maybe he was just afraid he was about to get fired.

Well, he should be fired. But I see your point. Maybe I did scare him into lying.

Then why wouldn’t it show up as a text?

She convinced the mayor to have me fired. The way I see it, turnabout is fair play.

[sighs] I forget that sometimes I’m dealing with someone with the IQ of a thumbtack, so I’ll put it simply for you. I’m going to do to Jada what Jada did to me.

You’re going to get her canned?

That’s right. And I’m going to use you to do it.

Shawn, I need you or JJ to let me know the second you learn anything about Rachel Black’s whereabouts. I don’t have to tell you this, but this case is of the utmost importance. Hey, I got to go. I’ll hit you back.

Ugh. I was up all night searching for Rachel Black, and now I have to question Bonnie Kiriakis.

I see. Well, I’m here for Bonnie, too, actually. I wanted to make sure that she’s all right and to make sure that the media is not swarming the hospital looking for scoops. [sighs] I cannot believe she stepped into an empty elevator shaft.

[suspenseful music]

Jada, I swear it has been one crisis after another ever since I took on this show as a client. I feel like I’m playing an endless game of Whac-A-Mole.

On top of all of that, you’re dealing with a breakup.

Yeah, it hasn’t been fun. But like I said, it’s for the best.

Right. Well, Steph, you never told me exactly what happened. Why did you end things with Phillip?

Good morning, brother.

I’m sorry, did MTV bring back “Punk’d,” or was that a genuinely friendly greeting?

I guess the two of us peacefully coexisting will take a little getting used to.

Yeah, I just feel awful about what happened. I mean, I’m the one that convinced Seth Burns to let “Body & Soul” shoot here. And then now this happened?

That’s not your fault, Kayla. I mean, Seth was more than happy to offer up the hospital as long as he got a role.

Right. [sighs] I imagine Dr. Blake Lamoray is doing everything in his power to distance himself from Pineview Hospital this morning.

How’s Bonnie?

Well, her long-term prognosis is good, but her injuries are severe.

[sighs] Xander and I were just talking about how lucky she is to even be alive.

It’s crazy. I mean, she fell down an open elevator shaft with nothing to break her fall. She fell over two floors.

Oh, my god. I’m going to check on her and Justin before I head home.

Well, I know they’d really appreciate that.

Yeah.

Hey, listen, thank you so much for the research that you left for me the other night. It was excellent. I hope it wasn’t too tedious.

No. No, I was– I was very happy to do it. I actually learned a lot. And I ran into Stephanie when I dropped it off, and we got to chat for a little bit while she was waiting for you to come back.

Eh, I don’t know. She is definitely bummed out about the way things ended with Philip.

Yeah. I mean, she told me everything. I mean, we don’t have any secrets.

What, uh, exactly did Stephanie tell you?

Um, just that Phillip behaved in a way that was very hurtful to her and that he wasn’t fully honest about a business maneuver.

[tense somber music]

So she–she didn’t get into any specifics?

No. I mean, did she tell you something more?

It turns out… Philip’s letter from Victor–

Yeah, what about it?

It was a complete forgery.

No, no, that’s exactly what she told me.

Hang on. When I first mentioned going after DiMera, you were adamant that it was a terrible idea. What changed your mind?

There’s one caveat. It is a huge, huge deal to me that I am keeping my mouth shut. So you have to work with Xander. You can’t work against him. You can’t constantly be a thorn in his side, or the deal is off. Is that understood?

Understood.

I realized that if we’re going to work together, I need to compromise.

This is quite the reversal, Philip. I mean, just the other night you were– well, you gave me this whole speech about how you didn’t want to operate that way anymore.

In an ideal world, yes. But this is the real world, and I have to be… flexible.

Hmm. But you also banged on and on about how dangerous our feud was with the DiMeras last time around, especially for your girlfriend, Stephanie.

Stephanie’s not my girlfriend anymore. We broke up.

[somber music]

Look, Stephanie, you don’t have to tell me why you and Philip broke up. Not if it’s too personal.

Jada, you’re my best friend. Of course, I will tell you.

Look, I’m furious with Philip for using me to help perpetrate this fraud. So if I’m being honest, if I keep continuing to keep this secret, I would feel like a witting accomplice.

I understand, and I–

Hold on. I’m not done.

Despite all of that, I do not want to be responsible for sending Philip to prison. Or worse.

Xander. And his temper.

If he commits bodily harm on Philip when he finds out the truth, I won’t be able to ignore my part in it. So… whatever I think personally, you’re Xander’s wife. Meaning I’m going to defer to your wishes. I won’t say anything.

[somber music] It’s like I told my mom. I saw a side of Philip that I cannot stand, a side that puts power above everything else.

Mm. I assume you mean at Titan.

Mm-hmm. Yeah, the way that he does business just doesn’t sit right with me. Maybe some people would compartmentalize, not let one part of a person affect the whole relationship. But I can’t.

You know, I respect that, Stephanie. I do. I mean, I couldn’t be with a guy whose work life was shady either.

Well, your guy is the opposite of shady.

[Jada chuckles] He’s one of the best.

[Stephanie chuckles]

That he is. But look, Stephanie. I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

[softly] Nah.

On the bright side, now that I’m not dating anyone, I have a little extra free time that I can help out with your wedding.

[chuckles] OK. You know, that’s very kind of you, but no. You use that extra free time to get you a much-needed massage.

No. Jada, I want to pitch in. Honestly, it would make me so happy. I know Rafe’s cousin is doing the planning, but if there’s anything I can do.

Well, actually, there is. You can be my maid of honor.

[soft upbeat music]

How am I supposed to get the police commissioner fired? What do you want me to do?

I want you to expose her for the corrupt cop she is.

Corrupt cop? I don’t know, EJ. She seems pretty squeaky clean to me.

No one is completely clean, Arnold, not even Ms. Hunter.

So you want me to dig up the dirt on her? OK, I don’t know if you remember this. I’m only pretending to be a PI.

OK, OK. I’ll do the digging, and you concentrate on the exposing.

[suspenseful music]

Maybe someone else from wardrobe sent Bonnie that text.

But Richard said they didn’t need her for a fitting, so why would they?

Maybe they meant to send it to another cast member.

But why would they address it, hey, Bonnie?

[Bonnie mumbles indistinctly]

I know. OK. I’m sorry, sweetheart. You know what? Let’s just forget about– about all this, OK? And just try and relax, OK? And try and rest.

[Bonnie whimpers]

Hey, Dad, why don’t I step out and give you two some alone time?

OK.

[heart monitor beeping]

[Bonnie whimpering]

[somber music]

Alex, I don’t like this. We need to contact the police.

I’m on it.

[Bonnie whimpering]

Don’t you worry, my love. Hey, don’t you worry. We’ll get to the bottom of this.

Yeah.

Well, sadly, Talia can’t make it. She’s on assignment for Doctors Without Borders. So… listen, Stephanie, even though we’re not blood-related, you’re like a sister to me.

I feel the same way. And the answer is yes. I would love to stand up for you at your wedding.

I was hoping you’d say that.

[both chuckle]

[soft upbeat music]

Stephanie and I just didn’t see eye to eye, so she’s not a factor anymore.

So now you’re all-in on going after DiMera?

I admit I may have been a bit hasty rejecting the idea, standing in your way just because I could. That said, a hostile takeover is a major move, obviously. We’d have to really think it through. Strategy, timing.

The time is now. Stefan, EJ, Chad, all out. Kristen distracted.

You mean because her daughter is missing? Isn’t that a bit ruthless?

Come on, mate. Don’t tell me you went soft in the loony bin.

Not at all, but I do have lines I won’t cross.

Yeah, so do I, but this isn’t one of them.

[suspenseful music]

[clears throat] You’re suggesting we attempt to profit off a missing child who also happens to be Brady’s?

For all we know, Brady’s got Rachel stashed somewhere, or Kristen does.

What are you talking about?

Their eternal custody battle. Do you have any idea how many times that poor little girl has been kidnapped by one of her own parents?

Rachel wasn’t kidnapped. She ran away.

Right. But I am still very confident that she’s going to turn up safe and sound. And in the meantime, we cannot let this opportunity pass us by. Kristen is definitely off her game right now. We need to strike.

She did try blackmailing you using that serum.

Damn right she did. She had a cure for Sarah’s paralysis in her hand, and she refused to hand it over unless I gave her Titan.

I remember saying you could keep the first vial and to let her know when you were ready to make a trade for the second.

She wanted to barter for my wife’s future, just like she did for your mom’s life.

With that orchid. She is one cold-hearted snake.

She’s a monster. You know, I asked Kristen, what did she even want with Titan? And all she said was that Titan was DiMera’s biggest competitor. If she merged the companies, she’d be unstoppable, which was my pitch to you.

She wasn’t wrong.

Neither am I. My point is… Kristen had absolutely no problem taking advantage of me when I was at my most vulnerable. She had no sympathy, no compassion. She just saw an opportunity to take everything from us, and she didn’t hesitate. So now the shoe is on the other foot, why should we?

Broken bones, broken jaw. It’s pretty bad.

Oh, my god. Is she going to be OK?

You know, I really hate that my daughter is hurting. But I– I just feel like maybe she dodged a bullet with Phillip.

Really?

Yeah. I mean, when they were involved before, he almost got her killed. Not to mention what happened with Brady. I mean, I know he was mentally ill at the time, and supposedly, he spent a lot of time at a clinic overseas, but–

Supposedly?

Yeah, I just–I know it’s a terrible thing to say. But I have always had this feeling that he is broken somehow and that he can’t be fixed. And I don’t know if it’s that he was just born that way or if it’s something that Victor put him through. I don’t know, but I just– I just feel like– you know, I mean, honestly, like, it’s just a matter of time before he would do something that would really hurt Stephanie or God knows who else.

[soft suspenseful music]

And speaking of our wonderful commish, Jada just asked me to be her maid of honor. I was so touched.

[intense dramatic music]

So how does Jada and Rafe’s wedding fit into your big plan? It’s not like she’s going to want to get hitched after I ruin her career. I mean, maybe I should call off the wedding.

Absolutely not. I want you in your best cheap suit waiting for your bride at the end of that aisle.

I don’t know.

Trust me, Feniger. If all goes according to plan, the union between Rafe Hernandez and Jada Hunter will definitely be an affair to remember.

Couldn’t someone from the wardrobe department maybe have sent Bonnie that text? Maybe an intern made a mistake?

We considered that and it’s definitely a possibility. But what if it’s more nefarious? What if someone wanted Bonnie to fall down that elevator shaft?

You mean lured her there on purpose?

[mumbling]

Huh? What?

I’m not saying that’s what happened, but we can’t rule it out.

OK, uh, but who would want to do that? Who would want to hurt your wife?

I don’t know. Maybe the same person who sent those cupcakes that poisoned several members of the cast and crew.

So you’re thinking that this is more of a targeted attack?

Yeah. And that whoever’s behind it maybe tried to kill Bonnie.

Alex meets Joy outside of the Brady Pub and asks if she’s ready. Joy thanks Alex for the offer to drive her to work but informs him that she’s nervous because she got a text from Abe that he wants to have a word. Joy admits that she’s afraid Abe is going to fire her for hooking up with Johnny.

Bonnie finds Johnny at the hospital as he’s preparing to shoot scenes for Body and Soul. Bonnie asks if she can cut the line where she calls Joy’s character a mendacious little bitch. Johnny starts to explain but tells her to go ahead because he doesn’t really care about losing a line since he just lost the love of his life.

Chanel goes home to Paulina’s and tells her how she spent most of her day at the Bakery, revamping the menu as the Bakery is her main priority now that she quit Body and Soul. Paulina asks if she can talk her in to not quitting.

At the hospital, Abe calls Kate who is at the Body and Soul studio. Abe says he’s been trying to reach her as apparently Leo has identified this Lady Whistleblower. Kate hopes it wasn’t Hattie which Abe confirms and states that it’s Rafe and Gabi’s cousin, Javi.

Javi and Kerry lay in bed together. Kerry says it was worth the wait until Leo bursts in and announces he’s there to expose Lady Whistleblower once and for all. Javi questions what the hell he’s doing while Kerry accuses Leo of trespassing and threatens to call the police. Javi adds that he thought they made peace and questions why he still thinks he’s Lady Whistleblower. Leo clarifies that he doesn’t but he thinks Kerry is.

Kate thanks Abe for the intel and says to let her know if he hears anything more as they hang up. Hattie then enters the studio with a large hat and sunglasses, telling Kate that she thought she might want to keep her return to Body and Soul a secret. Kate says first they need to get a few things straight, warning that she and Abe are not going to put up with her diva antics, so she needs to be on her best behavior and not locking horns with Bonnie.

Bonnie tells Johnny that she takes it Chanel didn’t take too well to him hooking up with Joy. Bonnie comments on hearing it from Seth Burns. Johnny blames Seth for telling him that Alex was hooking up with who he thought was Chanel and says his marriage wouldn’t be in shambles right now. Johnny admits he only has himself to blame as he let his jealousy get the better of him. Bonnie relates, then adds that she hoped that Johnny and Joy used protection. Johnny clarifies that it didn’t actually go that far, so Bonnie questions why Chanel is so upset then. Johnny states that he betrayed her trust, lied to her, and then told another lie to cover up that lie. Bonnie hopes there are no cat fights between Joy and Chanel. Johnny assures that won’t be, because Chanel quit.

Chanel tells Paulina that she hates to leave Abe in a lurch but she cannot work with Johnny and Joy, arguing that seeing them every day would not be good for her. Paulina insists that she understands, but she had to give it a shot for Abe. Paulina guesses that Abe will have to go back to plan A which Chanel questions.

Alex and Joy arrive at the hospital. Joy worries about seeing Abe. Alex doesn’t think Abe is going to fire her. Joy asks why he wouldn’t since she destroyed Chanel’s marriage and he will want justice for her. Abe comes over and tells Joy that he has something important to discuss with her and with Alex, about them hooking up.

Kerry tells Leo to get out. Leo says Kerry is not going to lecture him before he exposes him as Lady Whistleblower. Kerry claims to have no idea what Leo is talking about and calls him insane. Javi questions Leo really thinking that Kerry is Lady Whistleblower. Leo responds that he knows he is.

Hattie tells Kate that she has nothing to worry about because she and Bonnie have made up. Kate brings up the last time they worked together and how things got competitive. Kate says there will be no whining about who has more lines or better wardrobe. Kate presents Hattie with a 13 week contract where she will be working for scale. Hattie notes that it’s nothing like her last contract. Kate tells her that time marches on and she can think of this as a probation period. Hattie complains that it doesn’t seem fair while Kate argues that fair is exactly what it is as she gets the same deal as Bonnie, so she can take it or leave it.

Bonnie can’t believe that Chanel quit since she and Alex’s characters were the most popular couple on the show. Johnny is sure Leo can write up a new love interest. Bonnie questions how Chanel’s character Faith will be written out of the show.

Chanel is shocked to learn that they will be killing her character. Paulina asks what else she expects them to do. Chanel says she feels bad for her character Faith, like she’s letting her down. Paulina suggests there’s a way to do right by her and asks if she’d be willing to at least go back to shoot her exit scenes, feeling it may give her closure. Paulina points out that Abe and Kate are allowing her to break her contract, so it might be a nice way to thank them. Chanel supposes she’s right and agrees to do it.

Joy asks if Abe has a problem with her and Alex hooking up. Abe responds that he actually thinks it might be hot and the fans might agree as he reveals that their characters are going to become a couple. Joy is surprised to learn that she’s not getting fired. Abe admits he’s not happy about how her and Johnny hurt Chanel, but says they have to move past that. Abe adds that since Chanel did quit, the show must go on. Alex and Joy agree and say they are on board. Alex suggests maybe their chemistry in real life will show up on screen. Abe then questions if they are hooking up for real.

Kerry tells Leo that this is crazy, calling Leo a lunatic for accusing Javi first and now him. Kerry argues that Leo is only doing this because he’s jealous of their relationship. Leo says that’s a different issue and reveals that he recently found out that Lady Whistleblower is getting paid to a bank in Rochester and how he started to connect the dots after seeing the sweatshirt. Kerry questions Leo basing this on a sweatshirt. Leo brings up that Marlena told him that he needed solid proof which is why he suggested they all have lunch. Leo reminds them that at that lunch, he told them about pitching his producers the devil possession story. Kerry claims not to remember. Leo then reveals that was a lie and he made that story on the spot right then, so no one else had heard the pitch, but somehow it made it’s way in to Lady Whistleblower’s column. Leo declares that he set a trap and Kerry walked right in to it.

Alex tells Abe that he’s sorry as he thought he knew about he and Joy. Joy says they know Abe and Kate said Alex and Stephanie couldn’t see each other anymore. Abe calls that a different situation because of the power imbalance while Alex and Joy are on an even playing field, so he doesn’t see that as a problem. Abe asks to be clear what the status is on their relationship.

Hattie finds Bonnie at the hospital and announces that she’s officially signed to return to Body and Soul. They excitedly hug as Kate joins them and says what’s important is that they get along. Kate presents them upcoming scripts to rehearse and see how it goes.

Alex and Joy don’t have an answer for Abe, so he says it sounds like they have a lot to discuss and asks them to just keep he and Kate in the loop when they figure it out. They thank Abe as he walks away. Alex and Joy agree that was awkward, but Joy still has her job so there’s nothing to worry about. They decide they should talk about where they stand. Joy says she didn’t want to pressure Alex since she knows he’s just getting out of his thing with Stephanie. Alex states that Stephanie being with Philip clearly means she’s moving on, so he thinks it’s time to move on. Joy acknowledges that she’s definitely single. Alex admits that he really likes spending time with her and Joy feels the same way. Alex suggests the answer they give Abe is that it’s complicated. Chanel says he can say that again as Chanel arrives at the hospital.

Javi asks Kerry if he’s really Lady Whistleblower. Kerry denies it. Leo argues that he was the only other person at the lunch table. Kerry suggests someone could have been eavesdropping in the town square. Leo decides maybe that’s not definitive proof, but claims he has a voicemail from Rafe telling him that he got surveillance footage of Kerry breaking in to Leo’s hotel room to access his laptop. Kerry calls that impossible because he deleted the footage, then stops himself after realizing he admitted it. Leo reveals he didn’t actually get the footage and declares that Kerry just got played.

Abe goes home where Paulina tells him that she’s so sorry she couldn’t get Chanel to change her mind about quitting. Abe says it’s okay as he doesn’t want her to be unhappy. Paulina is glad she convinced Chanel to film her last scenes, but she can only imagine the tension on set right now.

Joy greets Chanel and asks what she’s doing here since she quit. Chanel responds that she’s only here to film Faith’s final scenes. Johnny notes that he’s really glad she came in. Chanel assures that she’s only doing it for Abe and she’s grateful he’s letting her out of her contract. Chanel then asks how her character dies since she knows she’s being killed off. Johnny informs Chanel that Leo didn’t have much time, so she’s going out the same way Charlemagne did by falling down the elevator shaft.

Kate starts to go over plans with Hattie and Bonnie and how they have to film a flashback scene to explain Hattie’s character Charlemagne returning from the dead. Kate has them begin rehearsing with Hattie under a sheet in the hospital while Bonnie talks to her. Hattie ends up going off script so Kate questions what she is doing.

Leo tells Kerry that he knew he had to have broken in to his room since that’s the only place he keeps his laptop and asks how many times he broke in. Kerry admits it was just once and reveals that he put spyware on his computer, so everything Leo did on it, he could see. Javi can’t believe Kerry has been the one badmouthing Leo and asks why the hell he would do that. Kerry argues that Leo deserves it for making a fool out of him. Kerry says he was a big fan of Leo’s column and he used that to lure him up to his room, then left him hanging. Leo argues that he told him he was emotionally unavailable and that Kerry said he understood. Kerry complains that Leo totally humiliated him. Leo calls that no excuse to break in to his room and steal his property. Kerry calls Leo a hack and says he used to be a big fan of Body and Soul until Leo ruined it with his lousy writing, so he was just telling it how it is. Javi declares that’s enough and orders Kerry to get dressed and get the hell out. Kerry asks if Javi is really breaking him up because he said a couple mean things about Leo’s stupid show. Javi argues that Kerry broke in to his room, stole from him, and put spyware on his computer. Leo adds that Kerry’s likely the one who sent poisoned cupcakes to the cast which he denies. Javi argues that Kerry still betrayed him because he knew he and Leo weren’t together because Leo thought he was Lady Whistleblower. Javi declares that he doesn’t trust Kerry and he wishes he never laid eyes on him. Javi demands Kerry get the hell out of his room. Kerry calls it Javi’s loss as he then storms out.

Abe tells Paulina how based on the sweatshirt, Leo concluded that Lady Whistleblower was Javi all along. Paulina feels that theory sounds a little flimsy. Abe then gets a call from Leo, who says he won’t believe this as he has the most astonishing news ever. Leo reveals to Abe that Lady Whistleblower is not Javi after all, but Kerry.

Chanel can’t believe she’s going down the elevator shaft like Charlemagne and thinks fans will feel they’ve seen that before. Johnny explains that Leo feels fans will see it as an homage. Johnny asks Chanel if they can talk after this is all over but Chanel says she has nothing to say to him and that being in the same room as he and Joy is making her ill, so she just wants to get this over with.

Hattie tells Kate that she thought she was supposed to come back from the dead. Kate explains that she is supposed to wait until Bonnie leaves and she gets injected with a serum, then she returns by crashing Bonnie’s character’s wedding. Hattie complains that Bonnie gets all the dialogue. Kate reminds Hattie of her contract, saying she will perform as scripted and if she violates the terms of the contract, she is off the show. Hattie then agrees to do it her way and goes back under the sheet.

Johnny begins filming scenes with Alex and Joy where their characters find out they are having a baby. Chanel’s character interrupts to ask how they know the baby is theirs. Chanel ends up slapping Joy which upsets Joy and Johnny calls to cut. Chanel apologizes, saying she got too in to character while Joy says she wants to keep going because she feels seeing Chanel go down the elevator shaft will be quite satisfying.

Johnny and Joy walk past the Brady Pub. Johnny asks if Joy is okay after Chanel’s slap. Joy responds that she’s glad Chanel slapped her, so she can stop feeling guilty for what she did to her. Joy declares that as far as she’s concerned, she and Chanel are even now.

Chanel goes home and tells Abe and Paulina that she completed filming the elevator shaft scene. Paulina asks if she’s okay. Chanel responds that she’s just glad it’s over as she’s so ready to put it behind her. Paulina asks if there’s anything she can do for her and goes to make her hot cocoa. Abe thanks Chanel for helping them. Chanel goes to join Paulina in the kitchen while Abe calls Kate and says he has some news that just might pique her interest, regarding Lady Whistleblower.

Leo tells Javi that he’s getting a new computer with security and changing all his passwords. Javi says he had no idea what Kerry was really like, so he’s so sorry. Leo says he has nothing to apologize for, except for sleeping with Kerry. Javi reveals that he and Kerry never slept together as they were taking it slow. Javi then adds that Kerry was starting to wonder if he still had feelings for Leo. Javi says he told Kerry that he was off base but admits he wasn’t as he then kisses Leo. Leo stops and asks if they should be taking things slow. Javi thinks that ship has sailed so they continue.

Kate informs Hattie that Abe told her that Leo has found out the real Lady Whistleblower was Kerry. Kate says there should be no more spoilers and since Kerry was breaking the law, she hopes Chad will fire him. Hattie adds that maybe Kerry will even confess to poisoning the cupcakes. Kate notes that he denied it, but maybe that means he did do it. Hattie declares that all her problems are solved now so she will lift the curse from Body and Soul. Kate says she never really believed in the curse, but they did have a spell of bad luck. Kate hopes they will turn the corner and have smooth sailing ahead.

Bonnie calls Justin and tells him about her and Hattie getting along. Bonnie mentions having to get to wardrobe because she got a text for a last minute fitting. Bonnie tells Justin that she will see him soon and hangs up. Bonnie then goes to the elevator that was used for filming earlier. Alex rushes up but is too late to stop her as Bonnie then falls down the elevator shaft.

Chance tells Nick that security footage showed Sharon’s car was taken to the Riverbank Motel. Nick tells Chance that Ian Ward is staying at that motel. Chance tells Nick that isn’t enough to prove Ian kidnapped Sharon. Nick persuades Chance to go to the motel with him and make Ian think they know he kidnapped Sharon just to see his reaction. Chance and Nick arrive at the motel and use the key the desk clerk gave them to get inside Ian’s room. Ian has packed his things and left the motel room.

Chance and Nick find two wine glasses on the table and one of the wine glasses has lipstick on it. Chance calls the DA to get a search warrant for the motel room.

Jordan feels deserted by Ian, so she calls Claire. Jordan tells her that a friend helped her get out of prison. Jordan also tells Claire that someone she knows could get hurt. Claire goes to meet Jordan at the alley where Claire found out that Jordan was back in town.

Nikki and Victoria decide to go along with Claire’s plan in order to catch Jordan and put her back in prison. Nikki and Victoria hope that Claire will decide not to kill Jordan and turn her over to the police.

Claire tells Jordan that she is running a long con on the Newmans and her plan is to kill Victoria, so she can inherit money and be free of the Newmans. Claire tells Jordan that she needs her help to carry out the plan. Claire goes back to the ranch and tells Nikki and Victoria she thinks Jordan is starting to trust her because she told Jordan she is going to kill her mother.

Portia tells Willow that they have a bed for Michael in the John’s Hopkins burn unit.

Carly tells Sonny and Willow that Jack Brennan has gotten Michael a bed at the clinic in Germany where one of the doctors that did Ava’s surgery works.

Sonny and Willow think that Michael should be the one to decide about his medical treatment.
The doctors awaken Michael although they don’t want to because he will feel excruciating pain. Carly goes into Michael’s hospital room and tells him he needs to make a decision about his medical treatment.

Drew goes to the Quartermaine Mansion with Martin Gray to tell Tracy that he has a court order to force her to return Wiley and Amelia to Willow. Tracy can’t give him the kids because she doesn’t know where the kids are. So, Drew has the police arrest Tracy for failing to comply with the court order.

Victor asks Adam to do some stories about Ian Ward exposing his past crimes and questioning his attempt at forgiveness and redemption. Victor thinks, when Ian sees the stories on Newman Media, he will be very angry and show his evil agenda.

Nick and Mariah think that Ian has an accomplice and it might be someone that he visited at one of the prisons while working as a chaplain. Nick calls Chance and asks him to get lists of recently released prisoners from the prisons that Ian visited.

Victoria doesn’t want to kill Jordan and tries to persuade Claire and Nikki it is too risky to kill Jordan because they could go to prison. Claire and Nikki persuade Victoria that killing Jordan is the only way to keep everyone they know and love safe. The ladies agree not to tell anyone about their plan to kill Jordan.

Sharon figures out that the water she has been drinking has PCP in it. Sharon manages to break a piece of the chain that is holding her to the pipe using the crowbar she found in the sewer where she is being held prisoner. Sharon is happy she was able to break a piece of the chain that she works even harder with the crowbar to get free and go home to her family.

Uh, no, Bonnie. What’s up? I’m just blocking some scenes for today.

Oh, um, look, I don’t mean to be a pain or anything, but would you mind if I cut one line? I mean, it’s where Kassandra calls Regan a “mendacious little bitch.”

And what, you don’t want to call another woman a bitch, I take it?

Oh, I have no problem with that. I just don’t understand what mendacious means, and I don’t really like the sound of it.

Yeah, mendacious. It’s like–

[chuckles] You know what? I don’t care, cut it.

Are you sure? I mean, I know we’re not supposed to make any changes last-minute and everything, so.

Yeah, I just don’t really care about losing a line right now. I just lost the love of my life, so.

[Johnny sighs]

Yeah, it is my main priority now that I quit “Body & Soul.”

That’s impossible because I erased the video, man. How could it be–

[Javi chuckles]

Well, Leo, I had no idea what Kerry was really like. And I am so sorry.

You have nothing to apologize for. Except for sleeping with that jerk.

I hope Chad does that. And–and as far as that– that fellow you talked about, maybe he’ll even confess to poisoning all those cupcakes.

Yeah, well, he denied it. But it was an awfully shallow denial. Actually, I think he did do it.

Mm. Well, in any event, all your problems are solved now. So you know what? So I can now lift the curse. In fact, I should do that anyway. I’ll, uh–I’ll, uh– I’ll just do it now.

[clears throat]

Well, I have to say I never really believed in the curse. But we did have a spell of bad luck, didn’t we? But hopefully, we’ve turned the corner, and now it will just be smooth sailing ahead.

Oh, no, Justin. Hattie and I had so much fun rehearsing. Trust me, we are getting along better than a house on fire.

Brady and Ava were having a conversation when Kristen showed up at the townhouse looking for Rachel. She demanded to know where Rachel was. Brady told her that she wasn’t there. Rachel disappeared from the DiMera mansion. Kristen told him that she took her phone and clothes with her. She was determined to find their daughter. They made phone calls to look for Rachel. Tate showed up at the hospital to be with Sophia. She admitted that she lied about the appointment because she didn’t want her mother to be there. Tate assured her that Kayla is a good doctor and that she’s in good hands. Kayla met with the teens. She asked Tate if Theresa knew about the baby yet. Tate caught her up to speed about what’s been going on. Kayla wondered if they thought about adoption since abortion wasn’t an option. Tate and Sophia were okay with it, but they weren’t sure how her parents would react to it. Kayla was proud of him for standing by Sophia. He wasn’t sure how much longer Holly would be able to handle everything. Kayla left to start examining Sophia. Later, Tate and Sophia saw the ultrasound and were moved by it. Kayla assured them that everything looked good so far. She went to get the picture printed, and they were overwhelmed. Holly gave Doug the money he needed. He was grateful to her for the money. She let him know that she was using it for her senior trip, but she didn’t want to go because of what’s happening with Tate and Sophia. Doug promised to pay her back in time for her to go on her trip. He was going to the park to pay the henchmen back. Holly was determined to go with him. He told her that it was dangerous so they argued about it. Doug tried to convince her to stay safe. Later Doug arrived at the park, and Holly followed him. He wanted her to hide while he talked to the thugs. She was about to hide when one of the thugs saw her. Doug told the guy to stay away from her, but she snapped at him for beating someone up over money. He gave the thug the money and thought they were even. After the guy left, Doug questioned Holly for mouthing off. She thought the worst was over now that he’s paid the money back.

Leo put it together that the shirt Javi wore belonged to Kerry. He decided to treat Javi and Kerry to lunch. Kerry was annoyed, and Marlena was confused by the invitation. They sat together, and Leo left the table. He texted Marlena to walk away from the table and meet him. Kerry was upset and let Javi know once Leo and Marlena left the table. Leo told Marlena that Kerry was Lady Whistleblower. He was determined to get proof that he’s the culprit. Marlena and Leo went back to the table. He told Kerry and Javi about plans for the storyline he wanted to write for the soap. Leo told them about the Devil possession storyline. Javi was confused by the story, so Leo told him what happened to Marlena. Marlena didn’t want to talk about her possession anymore. Kerry wanted to leave. Once Javi and Kerry left, Marlena wondered why she told them about her possession. Leo said it was a ruse to set up Kerry to see if he would leak the story. Javi and Kerry went back to his place and started making out. He put the brakes on and upset Kerry. Javi decided they should go to his room. He went first while Kerry stayed behind to leak the story Leo told him. He went upstairs to be with Javi. Leo and Marlena waited to see if the plan worked. They saw Lady Whistleblower’s new column. The column revealed the Devil possession storyline. Leo realized that Kerry was busted. Brady told the police that Rachel was missing. Ava wanted to help, but Kristen wanted her to stay out of it. She blamed her for Rachel’s disappearance. Kristen yelled at Ava when Marlena arrived at the townhouse. She wanted to know what happened. Brady told her that Rachel was missing. Brady thanks Kristen for calling and says he’ll be in touch. Brady hangs up and informs Ava that apparently Rachel is okay with starting therapy. Brady admits he thought Rachel would throw a tantrum and Kristen would cave, but calls this a relief for him. Brady tells Ava that he’s sorry for what Rachel put her through. Ava says it’s okay as she survived. Ava and Brady then begin kissing.

Tate joins Sophia at the hospital. Tate asks if everything is okay since the doctor moved up her appointment. Sophia reveals that she lied and the doctor actually didn’t change it.

Holly asks Doug III not to go yet since he came for the money and she wants him to have it today so he can pay off his debts and never have to deal with those criminals again.

In the town square, Leo then comments to Javi that he likes his Rochester sweatshirt and asks where he got it. Javi informs him that Kerry gave it to him as Kerry then reveals that is where he’s from. Leo thinks back to talking to Marlena about his belief that Javi was Lady Whistleblower because of the Rochester sweatshirt. Leo calls it unbelievable which Kerry questions.

Brady tells Ava their kiss was definitely worth the wait and invites her to hang around awhile. Brady says that Ava has been listening to him go on about his daughter and his son, so he wants to do whatever she wants. Ava says she doesn’t mind as she cares about Sophia and Tate too. Brady tells Ava that he’d really love to find out what else they share in common.

Tate questions Sophia about her appointment getting moved. Sophia explains that she asked the doctor to move it because her mom wanted to come to it, so she called the office to get in earlier. Sophia admits she felt bad about springing it on Tate so she didn’t tell him the whole truth in her text and she felt really bad. Tate asks if her mom won’t find out and flip out on her. Sophia hopes she’ll have more energy to deal with her when it’s over. Tate encourages her that Kayla is great, so she’s in good hands.

Holly hands Doug III the envelope of money. He says he doesn’t know how to thank her. Holly tells him to get out of whatever situation he’s in and not to let it happen again. He says he doesn’t plan on it and asks what she told Maggie. Holly says she told her it was for her senior trip. Holly adds that she doesn’t want to go on the trip to be around Tate and Sophia. Doug III points out that she only gets one senior trip, so maybe she’ll change her mind before then but Holly assures that she won’t.

Leo claims to Kerry that he was just talking about Rochester with the woman who does wardrobe for Body and Soul as she was there during the eclipse. Marlena mentions that she and Leo were just on their way to lunch. Leo suggests they all have lunch together. Kerry argues that he and Javi were looking forward to having lunch just the two of them. Leo tells Kerry that he knows he’s not thrilled that he and Javi decided to be friends again, but feels they are going to have to find a way to get along. Javi feels Leo makes a good point so Leo declares it’s a double date where they can bond and get to know each other better.

Ava jokes with Brady that they are both not big fans of The Nutcracker. Brady reveals to her that it was Rachel that stole the Nutcracker tickets out of his jacket and resold them. Ava guesses they are holding her responsible for the internet going out that night too. Ava suggests they can finish off their movie date.

Kayla joins Tate and Sophia at the hospital. Kayla introduces herself to Sophia, who admits she’s nervous. Kayla assures they will take good care of her. Kayla sends Sophia to the exam room to meet the nurse and says she’ll be there in a bit. Tate tells Kayla that he guesses she heard about he and Sophia. Kayla sits him down and confirms that Maggie did fill her in. Kayla asks if Theresa knows that she’s going to be a Grandmother. Tate says not yet. Kayla asks how Holly is dealing with it. Tate admits she’s really upset, especially since Sophia is going through with the pregnancy. Tate explains that they planned to end the pregnancy but Sophia’s mom found out and refused to let them leave. Tate adds that they have discussed adoption and are open to the idea but Sophia doesn’t know if her parents will be. Tate goes over how Holly and Sophia hate each other, so he doesn’t know how much longer Holly will put up with this. Tate then tells Kayla that he brought Holly flowers earlier but they got interrupted by Doug III, who has apparently been a great comfort to Holly.

Doug III tells Holly that this is so nice of her and promises to pay her back before her senior trip so she can still go. Holly says she only cares about him not getting beat up again and suggests he text those guys to tell them he has the money. Doug III agrees to do so and they respond to meet in the park in 20 minutes. Holly points out that he can’t go by himself. Doug III feels he has to. Holly asks what if they double cross him and decides she’s going with him but Doug III says no.

Leo says he’s going to the men’s room and tells them to start without him. Leo then texts Marlena to meet him at the entrance to the Salem Inn. Marlena says she has to go call her assistant and steps aside to meet Leo. Kerry asks Javi if they really have to do this. Javi says it’s just one lunch and argues that they can’t leave because Leo would be really hurt. Kerry complains that Leo is an idiot and just trying to suck up to him while Javi tells him that he’s just being friendly. Leo tells Marlena that Kerry is Lady Whistleblower since he’s from Rochester. Marlena reminds him that the sweatshirt is not proof. Leo says that’s why he invited him to lunch because he knows he needs proof and how to get it. Marlena and Leo go back to the table. Marlena claims she just had to talk with a patient while Leo claims Abe and Kate called about his next story on Body and Soul. Leo says they loved it. Javi knows how worried he was about Lady Whistleblower ruining his plans. Leo asks if they want to hear it. Marlena thought it was confidential. Leo talks about knowing it won’t go beyond this table and tells Javi that it will be his way of showing he trusts him after falsely accusing him. Leo then tells them that he’s going to have one of his characters get possessed by the Devil.

Tate tells Kayla that he knows he sounds jealous and has no right to be, but Holly and Doug III met at the Horton Christmas and hung out there while he was supposed to be taking Sophia out of state and Doug III was apparently Holly’s shoulder to cry on when she found out. Tate knows it’s selfish of him to be worried about where he stands with Holly while being there for Sophia. Tate complains that he messed up so badly. Kayla encourages him not to be so hard on himself when he is taking responsibility and standing by Sophia which is all he can do right now. Kayla says she will do the initial scan on Sophia and then will call him in to join. Kayla brings up that Tate and Holly have been through hard times, so they will find their way through this as she walks away.

Holly tells Doug III that he can’t tell her no. He says he won’t let her get hurt. Holly argues that she won’t get hurt. Doug III says she saw what they are capable of. Holly says they don’t care about her and he’s the one that got beat up, so she just doesn’t want that to happen again. He insists that they will just take the money and run while Holly asks how he doesn’t know they won’t demand more. Doug III feels it won’t make a difference if she’s with him or not. Holly insists that she won’t let them hurt again while Doug III worries that they will want to hurt her to shut her up. Doug III says he won’t go then, so Holly worries that will just put him in more danger. Doug III tells her to stay home then so she reluctantly agrees and tells him to be careful as he then exits.

Brady and Ava finish watching their movie and start to kiss until they are interrupted by Kristen showing up at the door, asking where Rachel is. Brady asks what she’s talking about. Kristen tells him to cut the crap and calls for Rachel. Brady tells her that she’s not there as he thought she was with her. Kristen responds that she’s not and she has no idea where she is. Kristen questions where Rachel is. Brady asks what’s going on and why she thought she was here. Kristen explains that Rachel was gone from her room and she took away her phone so she can’t track her. Brady suggests the DiMera Mansion being huge so she could still be there but Kristen tells him that her backpack is gone with some of her clothes. Ava tries to suggest calling her friends but Kristen tells her to stay out of it. Brady argues that she’s just trying to help and that it’s a good idea. Kristen shouts that she doesn’t want to stand here and speculate as they need to find her.

Leo talks about thinking the ratings will go through the roof and tells Javi and Kerry that Marlena was possessed by the Devil twice. Leo adds that it would be perfect for the character of Charlemagne since she looks like Marlena or it could happen to one of her children. Javi calls it creative while Kerry says it works for him. Leo reminds them that this goes no further than their table.

Doug III goes to the park and Holly joins him. He argues that she agreed not to come with him. Holly argues that she didn’t go with him, she followed him. He tries to tell her to go or at least hide in the bushes because he doesn’t want her in the middle of this. Holly tries to go but one of the men arrives and stops her, saying she’s not going anywhere.

Tate joins Kayla and Sophia in the exam room. Kayla says they are starting the ultrasound and shows them the baby. Kayla says the heartbeat is strong and regular, so everything looks perfect so far.

Javi asks more about the Devil possession but Marlena suggests changing the subject. Kerry decides he and Jav are going to get going because they were looking for quality time together but suggests they do this again sometime. After Javi and Kerry leave, Marlena asks Leo if he had to pick devil possession. Leo says it was all he could think of in the moment but assures he didn’t actually pitch it and only the four of them know about it, so if it ends up in Lady Whistleblower’s column then they will know it is Kerry, so they will see if he takes the bait.

Kristen and Brady try making calls about Rachel but have no success. Kristen says the servants have scoured the DiMera Mansion and she’s nowhere to be seen. Brady decides it’s time to call the police.

Kayla tells Sophia that she will print her an ultrasound picture and the nurse will be in. Tate and Sophia thank Kayla as she exits. Sophia tells Tate that was crazy and apologizes for interrupting he and Holly earlier if he wants to go back to her. Tate tells Sophia that he’s here now and Holly has company anyways.

Doug III tells the man to stay away from Holly. Holly gives him the money and says it’s all there, then remarks that beating up someone who owes him money is pathetic. He comments that Doug III’s girlfriend has quite the mouth on her. Doug III clarifies that she’s not his girlfriend and says they are all squared up now, so he doesn’t want to hear from him again as he walks away. Doug III tells Holly that this is why he didn’t want her to come and questions what she was thinking by mouthing off to him like that. Holly argues that he didn’t do anything. Doug III says he could have while Holly encourages that it’s over so there’s nothing else to worry about. He hopes that she’s right.

Javi goes home with Kerry and talks about how he knows Kerry didn’t enjoy the lunch but points out that Marlena is alright. Kerry notes that it’s Leo who annoys him. Javi appreciates Kerry making the effort and they start kissing until Javi stops. Kerry complains about how slow they are taking it and says he’s starting to think Javi isn’t attracted to him. Javi assures that he is and there is no problem. Javi suggests they take this to the bedroom. Kerry says he just has to call work and tell them he’s taking the rest of the day off. Javi then heads to the bedroom to wait for him. Kerry then pulls out his laptop.

Leo and Marlena remain in the town square, waiting for the next Lady Whistleblower column. Leo then gets the alert that a new column is posted, saying they have piping hot Body and Soul news, claiming they hacked in to Leo’s e-mail to find out about the devil possession storyline which happened in real life to Marlena. Leo concludes that he got Kerry.

Javi removes his shirt in his bedroom and briefly flashes back to being with Leo. Javi tells himself to forget about Leo as they are just friends and he’s with Kerry now. Kerry comes in and tells Javi that he cleared his schedule, so they start kissing.

Brady finishes his call to the police and tells Kristen that they are opening a missing persons case and they want them to go back to the DiMera Mansion to go over the details and the security footage. Kristen complains that it’s wasting time instead of looking for Rachel. Ava asks what she can do to help. Kristen yells at Ava to stay out of it and blames Ava for Rachel being unhappy. Kristen complains that Ava is pushing her way in until Marlena comes home and questions what is going on in here. Brady informs her that Rachel is missing.

Tate and Sophia sit together in the town square. Sophia looks at the ultrasound picture and says it’s all worth it. Sophia calls the baby the biggest problem in her life, but admits if Kayla said something was wrong with the baby, she would’ve been devastated. Tate admits he would have been too. Holly joins them and asks how the appointment was. Tate says it was fine. Holly asks to see the sonogram picture so Sophia shows her. Holly acknowledges it as Tate’s baby.

Doug III calls Leo and leaves a message to let him know that he paid off all his debts after a friend gave him a loan and he’s determined to get a job to pay it back completely. He declares that he needs to do right by the people in Salem who have been so good to him. Doug III asks Leo to call him back because he needs his help again as he wants to do whatever it takes to get the necklace back to Julie.

Javi and Kerry lay in bed together. Kerry says it was worth the wait until Leo bursts in and announces he’s there to expose Lady Whistleblower once and for all.

It is great. I thought she was going to throw one of her temper tantrums and Kristen would cave, which is usually what happens. But, uh, no, Rachel is willing to do it.

I’m sure that’s a relief for you.

It is. But again, Ava, I’m sorry. I’m sorry what my daughter put you through.

Well, it’s OK. Seriously, I survived.

[chuckles] Anyway. Where were we?

I have an idea.

[suspenseful music]

[elevator bell rings]

Hey, Sophia.

Tate, hey. I’m really glad you’re here.

Yeah, I hope I’m not too late.

OK. So why did the doctor move up your appointment? Is everything OK?

Everything’s fine. And, um, she actually didn’t change the appointment.

[Ava chuckles] I mean, your manager said that she could handle lunch, so… we’re all alone.

[chuckling] Yeah, OK. So, uh, what do you have in mind, uh, hanging around-wise?

I was thinking. You’ve been listening to me going on and on about my wayward daughter and on and on about my wayward son. So I was going to shake it up and just let you pick whatever the heck you wanted to do, please.

All right, no.

That’s very thoughtful of you, Brady, seriously. But you know my being there for you, it’s not an imposition. Not in the least. You know, I care about Sophia and Tate, too.

I know. And I appreciate that. But aside from our mutual investment in the Salem teen scene…

[both chuckle] I really would love to find out what else we share in common.

So your appointment didn’t get moved?

No, it did. But the doctor’s office didn’t ask me to change it. I asked them to.

OK. Why?

Well, my mom planned to come to the appointment, but the idea of having her here was making me palpitate. So I called Dr. Johnson’s office, and they said they could squeeze me in earlier. And I felt really bad springing it on you last minute. So I didn’t tell you the whole truth in my text. And I probably should have. I’m sorry.

Look, it’s OK. It’s not that big of a deal. But, like, isn’t your mom going to find out about this later and flip out on you?

Probably. But I’m hoping I’ll have more energy to deal with her when this part is over.

[soft dramatic music]

[laughs] Regular school day is kind of bad enough.

Well, you only get one senior trip, so maybe you’ll change your mind by then?

[inhales deeply] I won’t.

Uh, what’s so unbelievable is that I was just talking about Rochester with the woman who does wardrobe on our show. She was there last year for the eclipse. It was in the path of totality, yeah?

Yeah. But it was overcast, and we didn’t really see anything.

[laughs] That is exactly what she said. Stupid clouds.

We were just heading for lunch. So if you’ll excuse us–

You know what? I actually have a better idea. Why don’t we all get lunch together? My treat. I am making the big bucks now.

[sighs] Well, good for you, Leo. Um, but Javi and I were looking forward to having lunch, just the two of us.

Look, Kerry, I get it. I know that you are not thrilled that Javi and I decided to be friends. But the way I figure it, he and I are buddies. The two of you are dating. You and I have to figure out a way to get along, right?

He does make a good point.

Great. So it’s settled. It’s a double date. The four of us can bond, get to know each other better.

[quirky suspenseful music]

Well, I know one thing that we both have in common.

[Ava laughs] Don’t like it. It’s true.

No, it’s true. And you know what? Maybe, maybe because, um, it’s such a beloved holiday classic, maybe we didn’t give it enough of a chance.

Yeah, mm. I think Rachel did us both a favor when she stole those tickets out of my coat.

[chuckles] Wait.

Yeah.

Are you sure?

Yeah. No, unfortunately, Kristen and I were told by Rachel that she took the tickets out of my pocket when I went to her choir concert.

[Ava laughs] Get this. Ready for this? She resold them.

Uh, what?

OK, well, all right. You gotta love that entrepreneurial spirit, huh?

I suppose so.

Yeah. So, um, are we holding your precocious young daughter responsible for the internet going out that night when we were trying to watch “A Christmas Story,” too?

I don’t know. She’s–look. My girl’s a firecracker.

Mm.

And she is probably looking at global domination as her next future goal.

Yeah.

I mean, I hope so.

OK. Well, so if we’re not worried about the internet going out by, uh, said daughter, um, I don’t know. Maybe we could try watching the movie, finish it off, if it still streams in January.

Probably does. We could do that. Watch a Christmas movie in January.

[Ava chuckles] Never done that before. Let’s do it.

Tate. You must be Sophia. I am Dr. Kayla Johnson.

Nice to meet you.

You too. How are you doing today?

Well, if I’m being honest, I’m kind of nervous.

Well, that’s understandable. But we’re going to take good care of you, OK? So you don’t need to worry. Why don’t you go down to exam room two? The nurse will meet you there, take your vitals, give you a gown to change into, and I’ll be there in a little bit, OK?

OK. Thank you.

Yeah.

[tender music]

Well, I guess you heard about me and Sophia?

Why don’t we sit down?

Uh, your grandmother did fill me in a bit. Does your mom know?

That she’s going to be a grandmother? No, not yet.

[clears throat]

And how’s Holly dealing with it?

She’s really upset, obviously. Especially now that Sophia’s going through with the pregnancy.

Oh. She was considering terminating it?

At first, yeah. Yeah, more than considering it. We–we were all set to leave for an out-of-state clinic. Then her mom found out and refused to give us consent or let us leave the state to do it on our own.

Well, I mean, if neither one of you are ready to be parents, have you thought about adoption?

Sophia and I have discussed it.

Yeah?

Yeah, we’re really open to the idea. But Sophia doesn’t know if her parents will be, and she hasn’t asked them yet.

Wow. I think what you’re doing is admirable, taking responsibility for the pregnancy, standing by Sophia.

Well, thank you. But, uh, yeah, I don’t think Holly sees it that way. I mean, she and Sophia hate each other’s guts. And we flipped her world upside down. I don’t know how much longer she’s going to put up with this. Especially because–

[sighs] I–I brought Holly flowers earlier, and we got interrupted by Doug Williams’ grandson. Do you know him at all?

No, no, not really. But I hear he’s a great comfort to Julie.

[scoffs] Oh, yeah. Apparently, he’s been a great comfort to Holly, too.

This is so nice of you, Holly. And I promise you, I will pay you back before that senior trip so you can still go, OK? I mean, who knows what can happen between now and then, right?

[chuckles] Honestly, Doug, all I care about right now is you not getting the crap beaten out of you again. So why don’t you text those guys and tell them you have the cash, OK?

[phone beeps]

[notification chimes] Oh, wow. That was quick.

They texted back already?

They did. They’re going to meet me at the park in 20.

[sighs] Damn. Do we really have to do this?

Oh, come on. It’s just one lunch, and we can’t just leave. Leo would be really hurt.

You heard him. He bought the sweatshirt. He’s from Rochester.

We’ve talked about this. The sweatshirt is not proof.

I know, I know. That’s why I didn’t confront him. That’s why I invited him to lunch. I know I need actual proof. And I know just how to get it.

I’m sorry that took so long. I had to, uh, calm down a patient.

I bet you’re really good at that.

[sighs] Sorry about that. Abe and Kate called. They’re the executive producers of “Body & Soul.”

Is everything OK?

Oh, better than OK. I had emailed them a story idea, and they called to say they loved it.

It is. I know how worried you were about having to rewrite your long story after Lady W. Spoiled it.

Yeah, I was. Worried sick, in fact. You all want to hear my pitch?

I thought it was confidential.

Well, yeah. But I know it’s not going to go any further than this table. And, Javi, after the terrible mistake I made accusing you of being Lady Whistleblower, this is a way that I can show I trust you. And you too, Kerry, by extension.

Well, if you’re sure.

Oh, I’m sure. OK, gird your loins. I’m going to have one of my characters… get possessed by the devil.

[soft tense music]

I know I sound jealous, and I have no right to be. It’s just Holly and Doug met at the Hortons’ Christmas gathering. And then they hung out there all alone over New Year’s when I was supposed to be taking Sophia out of state. And apparently, he was her shoulder to cry on when she found out Sophia was pregnant.

I would imagine she needed that shoulder.

Yeah, I get it. I do. And I know it’s selfish of me to be worried about where I stand with Holly when Sophia’s pregnant. I–ugh–oh, God. Aunt Kayla, I messed up so badly here, so badly.

Listen to me. You have got to try not to be so hard on yourself. Like I said before, look, you are taking responsibility for this pregnancy. You are standing by Sophia. That is all you can do right now. And that’s a–that’s a lot. So listen, I am going to go and do the initial exam. And then if it’s OK with Sophia, we’ll call you in to join us, OK?

OK. I guess I’ll just– I’ll hang here.

Yeah. And listen, you and Holly have had some difficult times, and you’ve gotten through them. And you’re going to find your way through this. Aw.

[tender music]

Uh, you don’t get to tell me no, Doug.

Oh, no? My god, Holly, you saw what those guys are capable of.

And how do you know they won’t demand more?

And if they do, what difference will it make if you’re with me or not?

I–I don’t– I don’t know. I’ll scream bloody murder. I–I just won’t let them hurt you again.

Or it will make them want to hurt you to shut you up.

Fine. I won’t go at all if you insist on tagging along.

But you have to go. You’re going to be in even more danger if you stand them up.

Yeah, for sure. So stay here so I can get out of this so you don’t end up in it.

[sighs] OK, fine, for God’s sake.

[Marlena gasps] Ho-hum?

[gasps] Keep reading.

“Let’s face it, readers. “The guy doesn’t have an original idea in his head. “I mean, who doesn’t know that happened to his pal, “Dr. Marlena Evans, IRL. “And his so-called story is obviously “going to pale in comparison to the real deal. Gotcha, Leo.”

[Leo sighs] No, no, no, no, Lady Blowhard. I got you.

[soft dramatic music]

OK, so the police are going– they’re going to open a missing persons case. They want us to go back to the mansion so we can fill out some paperwork and review the details.

Why? Why? They know Rachel’s not even there. They need to be scouring the streets, Brady.

They want to watch the security footage and they need to get something with Rachel’s scent for the search dogs.

Oh, great, more time wasted not finding our daughter.

Trina goes to see Kai at the hospital. Kai tells Trina that because he has to recover from his dislocated shoulder he will have to postpone entering the NFL draft until next year.

Ava tells Nina that if she wants to break Drew’s hold on Willow she must tell Willow that she and Drew were sleeping together at the same time Drew was telling her that he loved her.

Chase helps Willow realize that she must make her own decision about what is best for her family and stop listening to what other people are telling her to do,

Willow tells Carly to meet her at the hospital because she wants to talk about Michael.

Alexis tells Curtis that if Drew takes Scout away from everything she loves, she will fight Drew for custody of Scout and she will win.

At the DiMera mansion, Jada orders EJ to tell her where Rafe was. When EJ was about to let Jada out, Arnold showed up. Jada wanted to know what was going on and asked them questions. She asked “Rafe” about the secret mission he was supposed to be doing. Arnold lied about what he was doing. EJ interrupted Arnold to say Rafe was working for him by tracking down Sloan so she could pay for what she did. Jada wondered why EJ didn’t just let the situation go since he wasn’t a victim in the situation. EJ said he had time on his hands and Sloan made a fool out of him so she had to pay. He said he hired Rafe to find her. Arnold said he wanted to tell her, but EJ made him promise not to say anything. An unconvinced Jada asked EJ if he had Rafe doing something illegal. Arnold said he wasn’t doing anything illegal. He said he had to prove himself to John and Steve. Jada asked where he was looking for Sloan since he hasn’t been home and was in the secret tunnel. Arnold said he was traveling and just got back. He said he was in the secret tunnel so no one would see him and his arrangement with EJ would stay secret. Rafe said he was charging EJ a lot of money so he could get her something for the wedding. Jada was skeptical but ended up believing Arnold’s lies. She ended up leaving to go to the police station. EJ and Arnold were shocked at how they were almost caught. At Titan, Philip talked to Kate on the phone. He said he didn’t know if she got through to Sarah and wasn’t sure if Xander was going to show up and kill him. When Xander showed up, Philip got off the phone. Xander offered a peace offering, but Philip was skeptical. He told Philip that he talked to Maggie about making peace with him. Xander said if Victor trusted him, he could too. He said he overheard Philip saying something about killing him. Philip lied about what Xander heard. Xander said he wasn’t going to kill him and suggested they make their arrangement work. He asked if Philip was willing to work together without betraying each other. Philip wanted to apologize on behalf of Victor for keeping the truth from him and treating him the way he did. He said Victor wasn’t around much but made up for it by being overbearing while grooming him. Philip said Victor treated Xander like that because he was the son most like him. He said Victor died before he could prove that he changed. While they were talking, they decided they were going to prove themselves to Victor.

Sarah went to Stephanie and told her that she didn’t tell Xander the truth about Philip. She said her conversation with Kate and Philip convinced her not to say anything. Stephanie was shocked that Sarah was going to lie to Xander, but Sarah said she didn’t know what Xander would do. She said Xander wanted to start a war with the DiMeras, but Philip talked him out of it. Sarah said Philip and Xander getting along would keep the peace. She said Xander tried to kill Philip before, but it wouldn’t be good if he found out Philip did. While they were talking, Sarah asked Stephanie not to say anything. Stephanie said she was upset with Philip for using her, but doesn’t want to be the reason why Philip went to prison or Xander hurting him. She decided to keep the secret. Sarah was grateful that she was keeping the secret, but Stephanie wondered if she thought it through. Sarah said she was sure and had to worry about Xander finding out later. Leo went to Rafe’s house to look for him. Javi told him Rafe wasn’t home. They talked about the search for Lady Whistleblower. Javi told Leo that he hoped Lady Whistleblower pays for what she’s doing to him. Leo got a text from Abe who wasn’t happy about Faith’s exit. He wondered what Abe expected him to do about Chanel quitting out of the blue. Javi told him Kerry spent the night. Leo was uncomfortable but said he was happy for them. When Leo was about to leave, he noticed a shirt that said “I Love Rochester.” Gabi and Kerry were in the town square. They talked about Javi and Leo. Kerry said he was with Javi, but Leo was a problem. Gabi said she was afraid Javi was going to forgive Leo. Kerry said Leo was going to try and get back in Javi’s bed. She told him about Leo’s issues with Will and Sonny and said she would never forgive him. Gabi offered to help Kerry if he ever wanted to keep Leo from Javi. Sarah went to Titan to let Philip know she wasn’t going to tell Xander the truth. She said he had to make it work with Xander. Xander came in and heard Philip saying he owed Sarah. Philip said he was talking about her encouraging them to get along. EJ and Arnold were glad things worked out with Jada. When Arnold wanted his check, EJ said he might be able to use him as Rafe, but he had to keep his hands off Jada. He said he had a way for him to be able to do it. When Leo went back to his room, he realized Javi was Lady Whistleblower. When Abe called, Leo told him he knew who Lady Whistleblower was.

Holly called Doug to let him know that she got the money to pay off his debts from Maggie. After she got off the phone, Tate arrived with flowers for her. He wanted to do something nice for her after what happened. Tate wished he could change what happened, but he couldn’t do it. The baby was coming regardless, but he didn’t want to lose her. She knew that he didn’t plan for the pregnancy to happen, but it was hard for her to handle. Tate promised not to let the baby come between them. He kissed her as Doug walked in the room. Doug apologized for interrupting them. Holly introduced them, and they became acquainted. Leo called Abe to tell him that Javi was Lady Whistleblower. Marlena showed up at his place to remind him about their lunch date. He wanted to get her advice about what’s going on with him. Leo felt bad for accusing Javi of being Lady Whistleblower, but he was right the entire time. Marlena warned him not to jump to conclusions about Javi. He didn’t have proof that Javi was guilty. Marlena asked him questions about it, and he realized Javi didn’t have any connection to Rochester. It didn’t make sense for Javi to have a bank account there. Leo wanted to confront Javi, but Marlena stopped him. She warned him things would get worse if he confronted Javi and wasn’t right. Leo agreed to wait to say something and thanked her for helping him. Javi made plans with Kerry over the phone. Kerry pulled out his computer and wondered how he could destroy Leo’s life. Gabi wanted to talk to Javi about Leo. She liked Kerry and thought he was destroying his relationship by being friends with him. They got into an argument over Leo. Gabi told him that she talked to Kerry, and he wasn’t happy about Leo being around. She advised him to cut Leo out of his life, but he didn’t want to do that. Javi told her that she and Kerry would have to get over his friendship with Leo.

Ava arrived at the townhouse, and Brady told her that Rachel was the one sending her the texts. She was shocked, but it made sense because she wanted her parents back together. Ava wondered what Brady was going to do about it. He told her what Kristen did to discipline her. They agreed to get her therapy. Ava was glad that she was getting help. Brady wanted to take Rachel’s behavior seriously. Ava thought they shouldn’t see each other anymore, but he didn’t agree with that. Brady didn’t want to give up his life to appease Rachel. Ava thought he should spend more time with Rachel and less time with her. Rachel held onto a letter opener and thought about Ava’s visit. She took the opener and picked the lock on the drawer to get her phone. Rachel started texting until Kristen caught her. She told her mother that she was playing a game, but she didn’t believe her. Kristen took the phone and saw that she sent Ava a threatening text. Kristen was upset with her about the text. Rachel didn’t seem worried about Kristen’s threats. Kristen told her that she and Brady wanted her to go to therapy. Rachel was okay with it as long as she talked to Marlena. Kristen didn’t think Marlena was the right therapist for her. Rachel was too close to Marlena, but she could tell her therapist anything she wants. Rachel wondered if Kristen would get back together with Brady if she saw a therapist. Kristen broke it to her gently that they weren’t getting back together. Therapy is for Rachel to get her feelings out. Kristen and Brady loved her, but they weren’t getting back together. Rachel agreed to go to the therapist. Brady told Ava that Rachel was the reason he wasn’t with Chloe anymore. He refused to let her get away with what she’s doing. Brady wanted to take things to the next level. He prepared to kiss Ava when he was interrupted. Kristen called him to let him know that Rachel agreed to get therapy. She thought Rachel was ready to get help. Rachel was in the hall and got her coat and backpack. She slipped out the door. Javi and Kerry went to the town square for lunch. He wanted Kerry to respect his decision to be friends with Leo. Leo and Marlena left the Inn. He saw Javi wearing the Rochester shirt and asked him where he got it. Javi told him that it was Kerry’s shirt. Kerry said it’s where he used to live. Leo smiled and looked towards Marlena.

At the Kiriakis Mansion, Holly calls Doug III and leaves a message, informing him that Maggie gave her the rest of the money so he can pay his debt off. Holly says to give her a time and they’ll work it out as she hangs up. Tate then arrives with flowers for Holly.

Leo goes to his room at the Salem Inn and says he can’t believe he’s such an idiot, believing it was Javi after all. Leo then gets a call from Abe and then informs him that he doesn’t need Rafe to go to Rochester anymore because he knows who Lady Whistleblower is. Leo declares that it’s Javi Hernandez.

Javi invites Kerry to lunch, so Kerry says to meet him in the town square as they hang up. Kerry then opens his laptop to write a new Lady Whistleblower column and wonders how he can ruin Leo Stark’s life before lunch.

Ava goes to see Brady as he told her he had information about the texts. Brady informs her that he went to confront Kristen. Ava guesses Kristen is still denying sending those texts. Brady reveals that Kristen was telling the truth as it was Rachel sending the texts.

At the DiMera Mansion, Rachel picks up a knife and thinks back to yelling at Ava. Rachel then uses the knife to break in to a locked drawer and retrieve the phone she was using to send Ava texts, but Kristen enters and grabs it from her. Rachel claims that she was just going to play Candy Crush. Kristen sees that Rachel had started writing a text that said “You didn’t get rid of me that easily”. Rachel tells Kristen that she just wanted to get rid of Ava. Kristen tells Rachel that she has to stop sending threatening text messages and calls it unacceptable. Rachel asks if she’s going to send her to her room again, but Kristen responds that she and Brady have something else in mind.

Ava tells Brady that she did not see that coming. Brady asks her not to take it personal as Rachel just wanted to get her out of the way so he and Kristen could get back together.

Leo tells Abe that he couldn’t believe it either but he wanted him to be the first to know. Leo says he’ll keep him posted and hangs up as Marlena arrives at his door. Marlena asks if Leo forgot they had a lunch plan today or if it’s a bad time. Leo says it’s a really good time as he just got some bad news, so it would probably help him to talk to her about it even though he would feel guilty not paying for a session. Marlena asks what’s going on. Leo informs her that Javi decided they could be friends and has totally forgiven him, but declares that he was right about him the whole time as he is the lying SOB who is trying to ruin his life.

Gabi goes home where Javi talks about planning Jada and Rafe’s wedding. Gabi tells Javi that they need to talk about something important and tells him that he needs to come to Jesus.

Tate tells Holly that he just wanted to do something nice for her as he keeps thinking about how it all went down between them and he feels terrible. Holly brings up Sophia having his baby. Tate says he would give anything to change all of this, but unfortunately he can’t. Tate adds that he and Sophia have been talking about adoption. Holly asks what her mom said about that. Tate admits she doesn’t know yet and she might not approve. Tate doesn’t know how it’s going to play out but the baby is coming no matter what. Tate tells Holly that he doesn’t want to lose her because of it.

Ava tells Brady that it does kind of make sense now that she thinks about it. Brady says that Kristen told him that Rachel yelled at Ava to leave Kristen alone. Ava says it never occured to her that Rachel was sending those texts. Brady explains that Kristen told him Rachel’s outbursts made her suspicious. Ava asks what they are going to do. Brady says they took away her phone and agreed that Rachel needs some therapy.

Rachel tells Kristen that she’s not going to therapy and then asks what therapy is. Kristen tells her that it’s talking to someone about your feelings. Rachel mentions knowing what a shrink is from the Sopranos and agrees to talk to one, as long as it’s Marlena.

Leo explains to Marlena that Abe found out where Lady Whistleblower was banking, so thanks to Chad, they found out it was in Rochester and then he sees Javi wearing a Rochester sweatshirt.

Javi asks Gabi why he needs to come to Jesus. Gabi mentions running in to Kerry earlier and he seems like a really good guy, so she really likes him. Javi asks what the problem is. Gabi says that Javi is completley jeopardizing this great new relationship by being friends with Leo Stark.

Leo tells Marlena that he was beating himself up for ruining things with Javi, when it turns out he was right about him all along and now he’s beating himself up again. Marlena is sorry he’s going through this. Leo asks if she can help him not want to jump out a window. Marlena agrees to help so Leo calls her the greatest. Marlena thinks maybe Leo is jumping to conclusions.

Javi asks Gabi if Kerry went on about how much he hates Leo and that he’s mad at him for not hating Leo. Javi says he forgave Leo as a new year fresh start because it’s not good to hold on to old resentments. Gabi argues that it’s protecting him from getting hurt again. Gabi states that they agreed that Javi dodged a bullet when he let Leo go, so she questions why he would want to walk back in to the line of fire. Gabi suggests that Javi cut Leo out of his life. Javi tells Gabi that he loves her and respects her opinion, but there’s no way he’s going to do that.

Leo tells Marlena that the conclusion jumped at him and asks what else there is to know. Marlena argues that he doesn’t have proof that Javi is Lady Whistleblower, but circumstantial evidence. Leo feels the case is closed by the Rochester sweatshirt. Marlena points out that Javi isn’t from Rochester, so he doesn’t have any actual proof which Leo admits. Marlena questions why he would be banking in Rochester if he didn’t live there. Leo argues that he wouldn’t have been wearing the sweatshirt if he didn’t have a connection to Rochester. Leo declares that he’s going to find out what that connection is, but Marlena warns that going over there to pick a fight with Javi would be a very bad idea.

Kristen tells Rachel that Marlena is not the right therapist for her as she might feel she can’t say some things to her, but if it’s someone new, she can tell them anything she wants. Rachel asks if that includes how much she hates Ava. Kristen says yes even that.

Brady tells Ava that Kristen was okay with Rachel getting therapy as long as it wasn’t with Marlena. Brady guesses all that matters is that Rachel gets the help she needs. Ava knows divorce is really hard on kids. Brady talks about Rachel being upset and mad, wanting her family to be back together. Brady says he has to take Rachel’s anger seriously because she’s acting out in destructive ways, so he has to do whatever it takes to help her. Ava suggests maybe they shouldn’t see each other anymore then.

Holly tells Tate that none of this is fair for any of them and she’s not blaming him since they were broken up and he used protection, so it’s not his fault. Holly says the idea that Sophia is having his baby is still really hard for her. Tate assures it’s hard for him too. Holly doesn’t want to lose him either. Tate insists that he won’t let anything tear them apart. Doug III then arrives and says he didn’t mean to interrupt. Holly introduces Tate to Doug III. Holly explains that they met on Christmas Eve at Julie’s, hanging ornaments. Tate asks what happened to Doug III, which he calls just a dumb accident. Holly tells Tate that she was going to go to the MysticBrew concert with Doug III but she wasn’t in the mood to go after finding out Sophia was pregnant, so they just spent Christmas Eve at Julie’s.

Rachel asks Kristen if she thinks she and Brady might get back together if she goes to therapy. Kristen says no and that this isn’t about her and Brady, but about Rachel’s feelings. Kristen knows Rachel wants her parents back together and admits she wanted that too. Kristen adds that she got her hopes up and thinks she got Rachel’s hopes up too which wasn’t fair, so she’s so sorry. Rachel asks if there’s any chance they might be a family again. Kristen says no, but they care about her very much and agree that they love her more than anything in the world.

Brady tells Ava that them not seeing each other is not a solution. Ava points out that Rachel needs to be his priority. Brady asks if he’s just supposed to live alone and be all by himself with no personal life just to make his daughter happy. Ava feels maybe he shouldn’t spend so much time with her. Ava says Rachel obviously hates her and it’s probably because of what Kristen told her about her. Ava adds that Rachel is obviously miserable because Brady and Kristen aren’t together anymore, so continuing to see her will just exasperate that. Brady says it will, but she’s not getting rid of him that easily.

Gabi questions why Javi won’t get rid of Leo like the pest he is. Javi argues that they agreed to be friends again and he likes Leo. Javi remarks that he may work for Gabi, but he can run his own life. Gabi complains that Leo is a creepy guy with a heart of stone and warns that Javi will lose his relationship with Kerry. Javi thinks his relationship with Kerry can withstand his friendship with Leo and argues that Kerry and Gabi are just going to have to understand that Leo is not a threat to them.

Marlena reminds Leo of what happened last time he accused Javi of being Lady Whistleblower and points out that he could be wrong again now. Leo asks what if he’s right. Marlena says if he’s right, there’s no harm in waiting until he has actual proof but if he’s wrong, he might not have another chance with Javi. Marlena advises Leo to think long and hard before accusing Javi of being a liar without actual proof. Marlena wants him to be patient and not rush in to this accusation or do something he might regret. Leo agrees to be patient and wait until he has enough evidence to support his accusation. Leo declares that Marlena has once again saved him from making a terrible mistake and asks how to thank her. Marlena suggests he finally take her to lunch, so they exit together.

Gabi decides that she obviously can’t stop Javi from being friends with Leo but warns that he’s going to have to find a way to explain it to Kerry without him dumping his ass. Javi argues that he won’t dump him because Kerry is a reasonable guy and mentions they are about to have lunch. Javi says he will explain to Kerry that he has a right to be friends with whoever he chooses and he will have to accept that. Gabi still thinks he’s making a huge mistake. Javi says it’s his mistake to make.

Tate tells Doug III that he appreciates him looking out for Holly on New Year’s Eve and asks what he’s doing here now. Tate gets interrupted by a text that Sophia’s doctor’s appointment got moved up to today. Holly didn’t know he was going to doctor’s appointments with her. Tate felt it was the right thing to do and he told her he would go. Tate tells Holly that he will call her later. Holly thanks him for the flowers as Tate then exits.

Ava appreciates Brady saying that but says she wants to do what’s right for Rachel too. Brady says he appreciates her saying that, but he doesn’t think them ending things is what’s best for Rachel. Brady says when he started seeing Chloe again, Rachel didn’t like that either and did everything she could to destroy it. Brady feels that if Rachel gets away with it again, she’ll believe all she has to do is act up to get whatever she wants and that’s not the message he wants to give her, so he doesn’t think he and Ava should stop seeing each other.

Rachel reluctantly tells Kristen that she will see the therapist. Kristen thanks her and hugs her, saying she’s so proud of her.

Doug III tells Holly that he’s sorry for his bad timing and walking in on her and Tate. Holly tells him not to worry about it since Tate obviously had other places to be. Doug III thought Sophia was having an abortion. Holly says it turns out that her mom had other ideas. Doug III guesses that makes things more complicated for her. He apologizes for barging in and says he just came over after he got her message, but he can see it’s a bad time so maybe he’ll just come back later, but she asks him not to go.

Brady tells Ava that he knows their last date got derailed, so he thinks it’s time they take things to the next level. Ava asks what that would be. They go to kiss but get stopped by Brady getting a phone call from Kristen. Brady answers and asks if everything is okay. Kristen informs him that Rachel has agreed to see a therapist. Brady says that’s great. Kristen really thinks Rachel is ready to get some help and put all of this behind her.

Rachel packs her backpack and sneaks out of the DiMera Mansion by herself.

Javi meets Kerry in the town square for lunch. Javi says he wanted to talk to him about Leo since Gabi told him they had a little talk about him. Javi says they are both entitled to their opinion but reminds him that they agreed to let go of the past. Javi tells Kerry that Leo is his friend, so he needs him to respect that. Marlena and Leo then come out from the Salem Inn. Leo tells Javi that it’s a coincidence as they were just taking about him as he was telling Marlena that they decided to renew their friendship. Leo introduces Javi and Kerry to Marlena. Leo then comments to Javi that he likes his Rochester sweatshirt and asks where he got it. Javi informs him that Kerry gave it to him as Kerry then reveals that is where he’s from.

No. No, no. Actually, you know what? It’s actually a really good time since I just got some, well, sort of bad news. It would probably help me to talk to you about it, even though I would feel guilty asking you for your always brilliant shrinky take on things since I’m not paying for a session.

Well, the short version is that Javi agreed to let bygones be bygones and decided that we could be friends.

Oh, good. He’s no longer angry that you accused him of being Lady Whistleblower.

That’s right. He’s totally forgiven me.

The bad news is that I was right about him the whole time. He is the lying SOB who’s trying to ruin my life.

You know, now that I think about it, it does kind of make sense.

Well, Kristen told me that my daughter yelled at you to leave her mommy alone. And, uh, what did she call you? A bully?

Oh, yeah. She was definitely riled up. But, you know, it still never occurred to me that she might be the one sending those texts.

Yeah, Kristen told me that Rachel’s outburst pretty much made her suspicious of what was actually going on.

Mm. So what are the two of you going to do?

[chuckles] Well, we took away her phone.

Well, that explains why the texts stopped.

Mm-hmm. And we also agreed that Rachel needs some therapy.

Speaking as not– not just your doctor, but your friend, I think going over there to pick a fight with Javi would be a very bad idea.

Oh. Rachel, honey, you won’t be seeing Grandma Marlena for therapy. She’s not the right therapist for you.

Why not?

Because if you talk to someone you’re close to, like Grandma Mar Mar, well, there might be things that you feel you can’t say to her or things that might upset her. But if you see a new therapist, someone you’re not related to, well, you can tell them anything you want.

And Kristen’s OK with Rachel getting therapy?

Yeah, but her only stipulation was that it wasn’t Marlena or one of her associates because obviously there’d be bias, and…

Maybe I can be a little more proactive in that department in the future, but this– with this whole text fiasco, I’ve realized that I have to take her anger and her desperation seriously because she’s acting out in these destructive ways, and I’ve got to do whatever I have to do to help my little girl. I’ve got to do whatever it takes.

So maybe we shouldn’t see each other anymore.

At the Titan office, Philip is on the phone with Kate, saying he would let her know if he hears from Sarah but he’s not entirely optimistic that they got through to her which means she could be telling Xander everything right now. Philip adds that Xander knows how to use a gun, so he’s basically standing there waiting for his brother to come shoot him dead as Xander then arrives at the office.

Stephanie sits at home, reading an article about the co-CEOs of Titan and remarks that Philip has no right to that title. Stephanie gets a call from Abe, who informs her that Leo wants to send Rafe to Rochester, New York to convince the bank to tell him who is behind the Lady Whistleblower account. Stephanie says she’ll talk to him later and hangs up. Stephanie wonders why Paulina is paying for the trip if Leo wants to know who is Lady Whistleblower so much.

Leo goes to the Hernandez home where Javi answers the door. Leo tells him that he needs to see Rafe but Javi says he’s not there and he has no clue where he is. Javi guesses that Rafe is really busy with his new job because he hasn’t been around much lately.

Jada brings up EJ threatening that she wouldn’t get away with having him fired and questions if he went after Rafe as payback. EJ calls that a ludicrous accusation. Jada says he needs to tell her if he knows where Rafe is. EJ insists that he can’t help her. Jada decides they can do this at the police station then. EJ says he’s not going anywhere with her. Jada reminds him that she’s the police commissioner. EJ points out that she can’t take him in to custody without a warrant, so she can get the hell out of his house. Arnold then emerges from the tunnels, interrupting Jada and EJ. Jada is shocked to see who she thinks is Rafe and questions what the hell is going on here. Arnold tells Jada that nothing is going on and asks what she’s doing there. Jada says she was looking for him as she’s been trying to reach him ever since he went on this undercover mission while Steve said he never sent Rafe on a case. Jada asks what EJ is up to with Rafe. EJ says he’s not sure what she is implying. Jada complains that EJ knew all about this call that Steve supposedly made and now Rafe is emerging from the walls of his house. Arnold tells EJ that Jada has found out, so it’s time to tell her the truth.

Philip tells Kate that he has to go and it was nice knowing her. Philip hangs up and greets Xander. Xander tells Philip that he has something for him and reveals a croissant from the bakery. Philip questions if it’s not poisoned. Xander calls it a peace offering.

Sarah goes to see Stephanie, who asks how Xander took it when she told him that Philip’s letter from Victor was a forgery. Sarah reveals that she didn’t tell him. Stephanie questions why not. Sarah says she went to talk to Philip first to hear the full story. Sarah explains that Kate was with him and they pressed the case that even though the letter was forged, it was somewhat truthful that it is something that Victor would have wanted and Philip would have had the job if not for his mental illness at the time. Sarah says since she’s dealt with similar circumstances and other factors, she came around to their point of view. Sarah declares that she has decided to keep Philip’s secret.

Gabi runs in to Kerry in the town square. Gabi asks Kerry if he’s not cold. Kerry mentions giving Javi his sweatshirt. Gabi asks Kerry to let Javi know that she dropped off the stack of catering menus with JJ at the police department. Kerry comments on Javi really taking to the whole event planning. Gabi jokes that she wishes he was as in to being her assistant. Gabi notes that it seems Javi and Kerry are getting closer by the day. Kerry states that things are great but brings up Leo Stark.

Leo tells Javi that he will take off, but asks him to let Rafe know that he stops by. Javi agrees to do so, but says he doesn’t know when that will be. Leo hopes it will be soon because he needs Rafe to take a little road trip. Leo reveals that Stephanie figured out where Lady Whistleblower is being paid.

Arnold tells Jada that the truth is that Steve didn’t send him on a mission while EJ then claims that he did and that “Rafe” has been working for him this entire time which Jada questions. EJ claims that he hired Rafe to find Sloan Peterson because she never paid for what she did. Jada argues that Eric is the one who needs justice for the time he lost with Jude while she figured EJ would let it lie due to the underhanded tactics he pulled. EJ blames Jada for not having much to do and argues that Sloan got away with blowing up his life, so he hired the best detective available in Rafe. Jada questions why “Rafe” didn’t just tell her if that’s true and why he lied to her.

Stephanie questions Sarah lying to Xander. Sarah calls it a lie by omission. Stephanie never thought Sarah would keep Philip’s forgery from him and calls it huge. Sarah explains that it’s not just feeling bad for Philip but admits that Xander having all this unchecked power makes him uneasy. Sarah informs Stephanie that Philip stopped Xander from attempting a hostile takeover of DiMera which Stephanie agrees is a bad idea. Sarah acknowledges that Philip isn’t known to be level headed, but right now Xander has to go through Philip before he can do anything impulsive which is good for all of them. Sarah feels Philip is a way to slow Xander down. Sarah worries about how Xander would lash out if he found out what Philip did. Sarah asks if Stephanie agrees that this is the right decision. Stephanie feels it doesn’t matter what she thinks but Sarah says it does, because she’s asking her to keep this secret too.

Philip questions why Xander is offering a peace offering. Xander explains that Maggie convinced him that Victor would want them to work together, so he’s decided to try and work in harmony with him and hopes he will do the same. Philip questions that being it. Xander thought that was it but now he’s not sure because he overheard Philip talking to Kate about him wanting to kill him and says Philip looked like he was bracing himself for him to pull out a revolver. Xander asks what he’s missing. Philip claims he was just telling Kate about how he foiled Xander’s takeover plans. Xander assures it will take more than a simple business dispute to make him fly in to a psychotic rage. Xander decides he needs this business arrangement to work and states that they are stuck in this forever. Xander admits he’s not happy that Philip stopped his grand plan but points out that Sarah thought he was right to do it and she is the voice of reason in their relationship. Xander suggests it was all for the best and asks if Philip is on board to make this work as a true 50/50 partnership. Philip says before he makes any promises, he has to come clean. Philip apologizes for getting off to a rocky start but says that’s not what he’s most sorry about.

Stephanie questions Sarah wanting her to keep quiet about what Philip did. Sarah is sorry to put her in the middle of it. Stephanie says she walked in to the middle of it when she overheard Philip talking to Kate on the phone. Stephanie adds that she was furious with Philip for involving her in the lie and says keeping the secret would make her feel like an accomplice but she also doesn’t want to be responsible for sending Philip to prison. Stephanie adds that if Xander found out and harmed Philip, she wouldn’t be able to ignore her part in it. Stephanie decides that Sarah is Xander’s wife, so she will defer to her wishes and not say anything.

Javi sits with Leo and toasts to Lady Whistleblower going down. Javi hopes Rafe can break open the case for him since he knows how much this has been weighing on him. Leo feels this is the last thing Javi would want to hear about after his accusations but Javi insists that he wants to know who Lady Whistleblower is just as much as Leo does. Javi acknowledges the latest column as a low blow. Leo thanks him for saying that and says it means a lot after everything that happened.

Kerry tells Gabi that he’s not a fan of Leo. Gabi feels no one is. Kerry says except Javi. Gabi argues that Javi hates Leo for accusing him of being Lady Whistleblower. Kerry informs Gabi that now they are friends which shocks Gabi. Kerry adds that he doesn’t trust or like Leo. Gabi asks what exactly Kerry is afraid that Leo is going to do. Kerry talks about hearing that Leo makes passes at anything that moves and that he wouldn’t be surprised if Leo is trying to get back in Javi’s bed. Gabi says over her dead body.

Arnold tells Jada that he hated lying to her but he and EJ had to keep things on the DL. Jada questions if this means he’s going to interfere with a police investigation again but Arnold says that’s not the case. Jada feels that can’t be all of it and questions if EJ asked him to do something illegal. Arnold says it’s nothing like that but he’s trying to build his reputation as a private investigator. Jada points out Steve not even knowing about this. Arnold says he didn’t want to say anything until he had a solid lead. Jada questions if “Rafe” was looking for Sloan in the DiMera secret room, pointing out that he hasn’t come home since New Year’s and questions why he’s been hiding out here. Arnold says he was out of town, chasing a lead but it was a dead end and he just got back in to town a few minutes ago to give EJ the report. He claims he’s charging EJ a small fortune which will come in handy for her wedding gift. Jada calls this not necessary and quite the story. Arnold asks if she believes him.

Javi suggests Leo should write a guest column for the Spectator when they out Lady Whistleblower. Javi gets up to get them more coffee. Leo then gets a text from Abe, thinking his exit story for Chanel is unoriginal. Leo reading the text distracts him from seeing Javi wearing Kerry’s Rochester sweatshirt. Javi comments on Kerry spending the night. Leo says they are friends so they should be able to talk to each other about their love lives. Leo tells Javi that he’s happy he found somebody. Javi thanks him for saying that.

Xander questions what Philip has to be sorry for. Philip says he’s just sorry that Victor lied to him all those years which Xander says it isn’t his fault. Philip says he’s sorry for how Victor treated Xander while it seemed he had the perfect childhood. Philip talks about Victor being a control freak and wanting to mold him in his image, but feels he was a disappointment in so many ways. Xander feels he was the biggest disappointment of all but Philip says that Victor treated him that way because he was most like him. Philip remarks that Victor died before he could get his act together, but he feels Victor is still watching so this is his chance to finally prove himself to him. Philip and Xander wonder how different things would be if they knew they were brothers from the start. Philip questions how understanding Xander is being. Xander says he’s trying for Maggie and Sarah. Philip says he appreciates the peace offering and they decide to split the croissant to break bread together.

Sarah thanks Stephanie. Stephanie hopes she’s thought this through since Xander is being cheated out of 50% of his inheritance and she’s keeping that from him. Sarah assures that she doesn’t like it either, but she really feels it’s the right thing to do for all of them. Stephanie asks what if the truth comes out down the line and Xander finds out she’s been lying to him. Sarah decides that’s a gamble she has to take.

Jada assures that she believes “Rafe” and gets that he wanted to surprise her, but asks him not to scare the hell out of her next time as she was afraid something terrible happened to him. Jada then points out that he still hasn’t explained signing his text with “XOXO” which he never does, so she questions why he did that. Arnold guesses he was so overcome with love for his future wife. Jada remarks that it just didn’t seem like him. Jada gets a text and says she has to get back to the police station. Arnold says he has to stay here because EJ is going to write him a big check. Jada tells him not to worry her again. EJ mentions having somewhere to be as Jada then exits the mansion. Arnold and EJ worry about how close that was.

Gabi tells Kerry about how her ex Will is raising their daughter Arianna with his partner Sonny and it’s going great, but Leo pulled out all the stops to mess things up for them, so she doesn’t like Leo any more than he does. Gabi declares that she will never forgive Leo for how he hurt them and she doesn’t want him anywhere near her family again. They talk about keeping Leo away from Javi. Kerry says he’s glad he ran in to her. Gabi says the same and decides she has to get to the office. They toast to Leo disappearing from their lives. Gabi tells Kerry that she will see him around and walks away.

Leo tells Javi that he should get going so he doesn’t overstay his welcome and he has a ton of work to do. Javi says he will tell Rafe that he stopped by. Leo thanks him and says he will see him around. Javi adds that he hopes Leo unmasks Lady Whistleblower. When Javi turns around, Leo then sees he’s wearing Kerry’s “I love Rochester” sweatshirt and leaves in shock.

Sarah goes to the Titan office where Philip tells her that Xander went to the break room. Sarah informs him that she didn’t say anything to Xander. Philip says he figured because they just talked things out. Sarah assures that she talked to Stephanie and she agreed not to say anything either. Sarah warns Philip that it is a huge caveat that she is keeping her mouth shut, so he has to work with Xander and cannot be a constant thorn in his side or the deal is off. Philip says he understands and he knows he doesn’t deserve this but thanks her, saying he owes her big time. Xander then comes back and questions what he owes her for. Sarah claims that she was just telling Philip that she was encouraging Xander to get along with him and he was saying things were going well, so she truly believes this partnership will work. Xander can’t believe he’s saying this, but he agrees. Philip says that makes three of them.

Stephanie and Jada run in to each other outside the Brady Pub. Stephanie tells Jada about her and Philip breaking up, so she will not be bringing a plus one to her wedding. Jada mentions Javi planning the wedding but says that’s all besides the point. Stephanie says it’s no big deal. Jada tells her that she’s welcome to bring someone else but Stephanie says she’s good and that she’s just happy for Jada and Rafe. Jada says now that she finally found him, calling it a long story and says the wedding is now full steam ahead.

EJ tells Arnold that he almost gave him a heart attack. Arnold points out that he did good in explaining things to Jada which EJ admits. Arnold says that’s because he’s not a total idiot and asks about his check. EJ says that will come later, but he’s impressed by Arnold’s performance and decides that he might actually be of use to him as Rafe Hernandez. EJ adds that he will not allow Arnold to lay a finger on Jada which he questions. EJ tells him that he has an idea.

Javi gets a call from Kerry and says he was just thinking about him. Javi adds that he loves his sweatshirt and is wearing it now. Kerry says next time he sees him, he hopes he won’t be wearing anything. Javi says that can be arranged.

Leo goes to his room at the Salem Inn and says he can’t believe he’s such an idiot, believing it was Javi after all. Leo then gets a call from Abe and Leo then informs him that he doesn’t need Rafe to go to Rochester anymore because he knows who Lady Whistleblower is.

Cody loses all the money he bet on the PCU football game because Kai injures his arm and is taken out of the game. The team loses by 21points without their star quarterback.

Alexis is concerned about Scout and tells Drew that she thinks Scout should live with her temporarily while he gets settled in Washington DC. Drew understands the reasons why Alexis is concerned but he intends to live in Port Charles and commute to DC when Congress is in session. Drew tells Alexis that Scout belongs with him.

Elizabeth and Lucky decide to team up to find proof that Cyrus is the one killing patients at General Hospital.

Josslynn tells Anna that she and Lucky interviewed Felicia and she remembered that Cyrus was ringing the bell at Rice Plaza but he stopped ringing the bell when Dex was stabbed. Josslynn also tells Anna that Dex and Cyrus had an intense conversation the day before Dex was stabbed. Josslynn tells Anna that Dex didn’t tell her what the conversation was about but she thinks it could have been about when Dex almost killed Cyrus when Dex worked for Sonny. Anna brings Cyrus in to question him in order to begin building a case against him but Josslynn ruins everything by telling Cyrus that she thinks he killed Dex.

Carly asks Jack to help get Michael into the clinic in St. Petersburg that did Ava’s surgery after she was burned. Jack tells Carly the clinic has closed but one of the doctors that worked at the clinic has a clinic in Germany. Carly pleads with Jack to get Michael into the clinic.

Sonny and Jason go to the Quartermaine Mansion to persuade Tracy to let them take the kids to Willow. Tracy persuades Jason to defy Sonny and not take Wiley and Amelia away from their home because Monica is heartbroken about Michael’s accident and it makes her happy to have Wiley and Amelia in the house. The tension caused by this situation gives Sonny chest pains and he takes one of the pills Dr. Gannon prescribed to him.

Marlena talked to Shane on the phone about John. Kayla and Steve showed up while Marlena was on the phone. Marlena let them know that she was trying to talk to John. Kayla suggested she get in touch with Kimberly. Steve wondered why she wanted to talk to Shane. Marlena told them what Cat told her about John saving her mother. Steve and Kayla were excited to hear that and thought John would be relieved. Marlena said he saved Catharina’s life. When Kayla left to go to the hospital, Marlena and Steve kept each other company. She opened up to him about being lonely without John. He asked if she heard from John during the holidays. Marlena said all she got was strawberries for Christmas. She asked if John was safe, but Steve didn’t know. He said Shane wouldn’t tell him what John was doing. Marlena said she was afraid John was slipping away from her. Chad and Cat ran into each other in the town square. She told him that she planned on staying in Salem and wondered if it was going to be an issue with him. He said it wasn’t up to him to decide where she lived. She promised to stay away from him. Chad said Salem was big enough for both of them and wanted to put everything behind him. Cat said she wanted to do the same thing. Maggie asked Xander about working with Philip. Xander said it was great when he found out he was Victor’s son and he trusted him to run the company over everyone else. When Philip showed up, he took it away. Maggie said he still had the company. He just had to run it with Philip. Xander said Philip was the worst. He said he wanted to get rid of Philip. A concerned Maggie warned him not to do anything rash. Xander said he wouldn’t do anything that would take him away from Sarah and Victoria. Maggie said he didn’t say he wouldn’t do anything. She let him know that Victor loved him and Philip. While they were talking, Maggie let him know that she wasn’t losing another family member so he shouldn’t do anything stupid. Xander brought up the will and letter to which Maggie said the situation was settled in court. She said the partnership wouldn’t be easy, but they had to find a way to work together. Xander asked if she was referring to her situation with Alex. He apologized to her for what he said. She said if he and Philip got along, they would break the curse. Xander agreed try and get along with Philip.

Stephanie told Sarah that Philip’s letter was a fake. She said Philip shouldn’t be co-CEO and told Sarah what Philip did. Stephanie said she wouldn’t have gotten involved with Philip if she knew what he was doing. She told Sarah she had to tell her the truth and wondered how Xander would take the news. Sarah said she didn’t know how Xander would take the news. When Sarah left, Stephanie checked her messages and listened to one that Philip left. He asked her not to say anything about the letter. She deleted the message and said it was too late. When she saw Kayla, she told her that she and Philip broke up. Kayla wanted to know what happened, but Stephanie thought it was better that she didn’t know what happened. She said she saw Philip’s true self and it made her sick. Kate went to see Philip at Titan and wondered what he wanted. Philip said Stephanie overheard them talking about the letter. He let her know that Stephanie was upset and thought she was going to say something. Kate talked about how judgmental the Bradys were. She wondered what he was going to do about it. Philip said he didn’t know where Stephanie was. He said he was dead if the truth came out. Kate said Stephanie wouldn’t be upset if she didn’t care. She thought he could reason with Stephanie once she cooled off. He said it could ruin Stephanie and Belle’s lives. While they were talking, Sarah came in and said she knew everything. When Philip and Kate acted as if they didn’t know what she was talking about. Sarah said she knew about the letter and how she found out about it. Philip assumed she didn’t tell Xander yet. Sarah said she didn’t tell him, but he was a dead man when she did. Kate suggested that she didn’t tell Xander the truth. She said it would protect Xander and Philip and keep Xander from hurting Philip. Sarah wanted to know why he did this. Kate said it was Vivian’s fault, but Sarah didn’t think that wasn’t good enough. Philip said Xander wasn’t above doing crazy things. He said he could keep Xander in check. Philip said he wanted to make Victor proud of him. He said this was his last attempt to prove that he was worthy of Victor’s legacy and asked her not to take it away from him. Sarah apologized to him before she left. Kate said she was glad he stood up to Sarah. He said he wanted to speak from the heart with Sarah. When Sarah went home, she told Xander that she talked to Stephanie about Philip. Before Sarah could tell him what Philip did, Xander said he promised Maggie to get along with Philip.

Kerry told Javi that he didn’t like how he was friends with Leo. Javi told him that Leo wasn’t a threat to their relationship. He chose Kerry and doesn’t want to be with Leo. After their conversation, they kissed. Kerry was ready to make love to Javi, but he didn’t want to rush things with him the way he did with Leo. Kerry understood and wanted to go at his pace. He took off his Rochester t-shirt and left it for Javi. Leo met with Abe and Paulina to update them about Faith’s exit storyline. He also dropped the bomb about Charlamagne being written back into the show. Abe didn’t want her written back into the show. Leo told him that her storyline was already written. He began telling his plans to bring her back. Abe and Paulina were shocked by what Leo told them. They had questions about the plausibility of his stories. Leo talked to them about Lady Whistleblower was ruining his life. Abe told him that he had a lead on the identity of Lady Whistleblower. He told him that Stephanie found out the checks were going to Rochester, New York. Leo wanted Rafe to find out about the tip. Abe reminded him that the soap didn’t have the budget for that. Paulina interrupted and said that she would pay for the trip so Rafe would stay out of police business. Leo prepared to see Rafe and pleaded for Abe to rehire Hattie. Abe finally backed down and agreed to take her back. Jada looked at Rafe’s message letting her know that she didn’t have to worry about him. She was worried about him. Jada left Rafe a message telling him that she wanted to hear his voice. She told Shawn that she hasn’t heard from Rafe and felt like something was off with him. Shawn advised her to reach out to Steve since he worked with him. Jada took his advice and reached out to Steve. Steve informed her that Rafe wasn’t on a case. She remembered EJ telling her about the case Rafe was working on.

EJ heard Rafe’s phone ringing and hung it up before Arnold exited the secret passage. Thinking he was Rafe, EJ almost panicked. He wanted to know why Arnold was there. Arnold wanted to get out of the hotel before he went crazy. EJ was upset that he came out of hiding because he was bored. He had enough to deal with trying to figure out what to do with Rafe. Arnold let him know that he wanted to stay at the mansion. EJ didn’t want him to do that because he didn’t want people thinking that he was Rafe. Arnold thought that could be a good thing. He thought he could distract Jada until he figured out what to do with Rafe. Someone was at the door, and EJ panicked. He told Arnold to get out of the room and sent him to feed Rafe. EJ left to get the door. Jada was the one at the door. She barged in the mansion to tell him that she knew Rafe wasn’t working on a case for him. He claimed he heard Rafe take the call, but she didn’t believe him. Abe told Kate about Hattie coming back to the show. She wasn’t thrilled about the news, so she wanted to talk about it later. He had good news about Lady Whistleblower. Leo arrived at the Hernandez place. He wanted to see Rafe. Jada let EJ know that she was sure she knew where to find Rafe. She told him about the way he was acting on New Year’s Eve and most likely knew where Rafe was. EJ messed with her head and told her that he probably got scared and left.
