Okay, I’ve got two things planned for us today. First thing is we are going to go on a hike in the Eldron Lava Fields. And then after that… A soak in the hot springs. Uh, hopefully we don’t mix those two up. Yeah, that would be quite problematic, wouldn’t it? Um, right, so anyway, it’s um, now quite high tourist season, so we best get a move on.
The concierge has gotten us tickets, but I think it’s best to just get ahead of the crowds.

I don’t think that we have to put a label on it, but I do think that if you have romantic feelings for Chanel, you need to acknowledge that. Be honest with yourself. I
have romantic feelings for Chanel. The last time, um, you saw me, you expressed your concern about me hurting Chanel. And I just want to let you know that I’m not going to do that.
And, uh, these feelings that Taya has for you… You’re sure they’re not the pretend kind that she had for you before? Mama, please, let’s not start this right now. You know, you can’t blame me for wondering. I mean, look at that girl. What did she put you through? I know what she put me through, Mama, but Talia says that her feelings are real this time.
And she said that even though her intentions before were to get close to me so that she could… Break my heart that she actually did start to feel something and that’s why she did what she did to stop calling from hurting us. Mama, you’re not saying anything. Well, now I’m very protective of you and okay, if I’m being honest.
I would rather see you involved with someone who hasn’t hurt you the way she has. I mean, look what she’s put you through, like I said. But, you know, you know what? I’m not really sure how I feel about Talia. It’s complicated. Uh, I mean, it’s like I said before, like, I think that I can get past what she did to me and that she and I could be friends. Just friends? Well, when Talia told me how she felt. My heart, it did skip a beat, but, but my head is nowhere near ready to trust her again.
Well, you know, you just need to take the time, Chanel. That girl has put you through a lot, like I said. Though it’s completely understandable that you’re not willing to rush into anything. And I just feel like if he jumps into the spotlight too soon, he’s gonna get burned.
I don’t remember The particulars of our friendship. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but I, I don’t believe it entails seeking your permission for every decision I’ve made in life. When Chanel and I were married in Italy, That was real. And then it all just… Ended so abruptly and horribly. I know.
But Grandma, before it did, it was amazing. You know, the way that Chanel and I looked at each other at San Carlo, the Four Fountains, that was like we just, we, we, we walked right into a movie. You know, but it also felt real. More real than any moment I’ve ever had in my life.

Thank you all so much for coming. As you know, I’m Acting Mayor Clint Rawlings, and I’ve called you all here to announce my plans for the rest of my administration’s term. That won’t be necessary, Deputy Mayor Rawlings.
The man came to make a speech, and now he’s speechless. Abe Carver, ladies and gentlemen. It’s good to see you out of bed and back on your feet. I appreciate you showing up to support me, but shouldn’t you be resting, Abe? I know you’ve been through a lot and still have a long recovery ahead of you. I know you’d prefer for me to stay in bed.
But that’s over. And as we all are eager to hear what might be your agenda, I have an announcement to make. As of this moment, I am returning to my full duties as mayor of Salem. And my first official act will be to reopen my stepdaughter’s bakery.
I don’t know, I guess the reason I haven’t told Chanel how I feel yet is because I just, I, I, I… I don’t know if it’s the right time right now for that. And why is that? Grandma, she’s been through so much already. And now she’s dealing with the bakery being closed again. Not to mention I just made a pretty serious play for Wendy Shen.
And lost. I might not look very good if I just move on to someone else so quickly, you know? And then there’s my sister. I just went to New Zealand to visit her and things were great between us. But she and I were, you know, at each other’s throats for quite a while over Chanel. And even though she’s moved on and happy with someone else, I just, I don’t, I don’t know if I want to put Chanel between the two of us again.
Well, it sounds to me like you’re concerned about other people having feelings, having thoughts about it. It doesn’t matter. All that matters is how you feel about it, how you think about it. Like it’s, it’s always, always a risk to open up to somebody about your feelings, expose yourself and. Never being sure if they feel the same way about you.
But I can tell you, it is worth the risk.

So that means there’s a chance? Look, you caught me really off guard with all of this. But, I would be lying to you, and to myself, if I said that I didn’t feel something for you too. I mean when, when we kissed and we almost slept together, I really wanted to be with you.

I’m sorry, Mr. Carver. But your judgment before your very painful and debilitating brain injury was questionable at best. Perhaps you don’t remember. So allow me to enlighten you. You appointed Commissioner Ray Fernandez, a man who admitted to having a sexually inappropriate relationship with one of his subordinates, an act which opened our city up to significant legal exposure.

And now… In an effort to give favor to her daughter, she has turned a blind eye to said daughter’s negligence in creating a public health hazard and dragged her poor husband from his sickbed to advance her own agenda.

Is that true? Can you tell us if you plan to uphold the temporary appointment of Sean Brady as police commissioner or are there other candidates from inside the department you might consider? Well, I, I, I’ll have to get back to you on that once I’ve had a chance to review. Has there been any improvement at all in your long term memory?
I am perfectly, mentally, and physically capable of performing this job as mayor of this town. Um, Mr. Carver, uh, can you name all the members of the city council? Or any of the members of the city council? Not one? Anybody, Mr. Carver? Um, how about the aldermen or other commissioners? How about your own daughter?
I hope Abe isn’t being barraged by questions right now. I don’t know how he can handle it. Well, you know what, maybe he changed his mind and he backed out. Hey. Hey. Hi. Abe went through with it. Yeah. Yeah. I was just, uh, checking on social media. Well, what did they say? Mayor Abe Carver made his first public appearance today, and his return to the spotlight is turning out to be something he wishes he could forget.
