Steve and John talked about Ava’s role in Clyde’s escape. John wanted to talk to her again to see if they could get her to remember something. Kayla wanted to know what they were up to. Brady let Theresa know that Tate lied about seeing Holly. She couldn’t believe he defied them. Theresa didn’t know why Tate wanted to keep seeing Holly. Brady thought they should work with Nicole and EJ to keep them apart. Theresa was grateful for the way he handled the situation. Maggie wondered how Konstantin and Victor developed a friendship. He explained how they bonded. Maggie let Konstantin know that Victor was part of her second chapter. She talked about the Victor she knew and love. He wanted her to remember Victor the way he was with her. Kayla wanted to know what Steve couldn’t live with. Steve told her that he couldn’t live with Clyde getting away. John let him know they had to go. Julie walked in the room while Maggie and Konstantin were talking. Theresa and Brady hoped Nicole and EJ were on the same page. Alex walked in and asked her what she wanted for dinner. Brady wondered what was going on. Julie told Maggie she was tired because of Thomas and Charlotte. Konstantin wanted to take a walk with Maggie so they could finish their conversation. He left Maggie and Julie alone to talk. Brady reminded Theresa that she was staying at the Salem Inn. Theresa and Alex announced they were roomies again. Steve and John went to Ava’s apartment. John felt like she knew something that could trigger Clyde’s whereabouts. Harris let them know he was investigating Clyde’s disappearance too. He wanted them to let him know when they found something so they wouldn’t take the law into their own hands. Steve was ready to go. John told Steve that he wanted to talk to Harris a little longer. John wanted to look at Goldman’s personnel file. Harris told him that was against policy. John reminded him that they broke the law. He wanted to ask Harris about a common thing they shared. John wanted to know about Megan brainwashing him. Harris told him that he talked to Marlena to get better. John asked him if he was afraid that the brainwashing could happen again.

Julie and Maggie talked about John killing Konstantin’s daughter. Maggie had to dig deep into her feelings to think about what he does. Julie reminded her about the way Doug was years ago. She let Maggie know that she brought out the best in Victor. Maggie appreciated what she said to her. Brady didn’t hide his surprise that Alex was living with Theresa again. They shifted gears and talked about Victor and Alex being his legacy. Brady thought Victor would be proud of him. Alex congratulated Brady because Tate was exonerated. Konstantin met with Theresa at the town square. He wanted to know about her being with Alex. She told him they were platonic. Steve brought flowers to Kayla. She wanted him to talk to her. Steve hated keeping secrets from her. She wanted answers. He wanted her to sit because it was a long story. Harris explained to John that he had to put the blame on the people who tried to control him. He said John had to forgive himself for what happened. Kayla didn’t understand Steve, John and Ava’s plan. She got upset because he was targeting a terrorist who killed their niece. Alex felt like Brady was more interested in Theresa than he’s letting on. Brady denied it. He didn’t want Theresa to deal with Kristen. Alex thought that Brady wanted to be with Theresa. Brady continued to deny wanting her. He didn’t convince Alex of that. Alex said what went on between him and Theresa would stay between them. Konstantin told Theresa to create an illusion for Alex so he would come after her. Theresa had a plan of her own to get him to be with her. Steve wished he didn’t agree to the plan. He asked Kayla to understand, but she didn’t. She didn’t understand why she worked with Ava in the first place. He told her that he thought his son was going to die. They continued to argue because of Ava. Kayla blamed him for putting their family in danger. She stormed out of the room.

Kate went to see Lucas at the Monastery. She wasn’t sure if they had enough evidence to get him out of there. Lucas wondered if he had to stay there to finish out his time. Tate wasn’t happy that Theresa didn’t want him talking to Holly. He insisted that he wanted to get out. Tate hadn’t seen his friends in a long time. Brady wanted to make sure he wasn’t going to see Holly. Tate assured him that he wasn’t going to see her. Brady agreed to let him go. Nicole talked to Holly about the drugs. Holly thought she would be grounded. Nicole wanted to make sure her punishment fit the crime. She recapped everything Holly did. Nicole knew she was trying to protect her. Holly said she did try to protect her. Nicole felt like she was protecting herself. Kate didn’t want to give up on freeing Lucas. She reminded him that he helped with Clyde. Kate planned on going to the governor to free Lucas. Nicole wanted Holly to apologize to Tate and his parents for what she did. Holly said she couldn’t talk to Tate because they don’t want her too. Nicole didn’t blame them because she made him lose time. Holly wondered if Nicole forgave her for what she did. Brady and Theresa were grateful Tate was home. He felt like the nightmare was over. Theresa didn’t think Tate would be happy to see her things in his room. She wanted him to sleep in his own bed. Brady offered his bed to her. He said he would stay on the couch and she could stay in his room. Things got awkward when he assumed that she wanted to share his bed with her. Theresa said it was time for her to move out of the house. Holly told Nicole that drugs were everywhere. Nicole wanted to know if she was using before she overdosed. Holly admitted that she drank during the holidays. Nicole couldn’t believe she missed it. She wanted to trust Holly, but she showed her that she couldn’t do it.

Kate didn’t want Lucas to do anything to make Clyde come after him. She warned him that Clyde is all about revenge. He wondered if he wasn’t going to be safe until Clyde was dead. Brady let Theresa know that she could stay with him, but she felt she needed to go. She was happy that they worked on the same side for once. Holly didn’t understand why her mother didn’t trust her when she told the truth. Nicole told her that she didn’t learn anything. She said she had to earn her trust back. Nicole wanted her to go to therapy. Holly thought she wanted to send her to rehab and rejected the idea. Nicole chastised her for telling her that she didn’t want to go to rehab. Holly tried to throw her past up in her face, but Nicole put her in her place. Nicole continued to yell at her about her behavior. She grounded Holly indefinitely. Holly had to give her the phone and her car keys. She refused to give up her phone and keys. Holly wanted her to let her live. She reminded her that she used her phone to become self-sufficient. Holly called her out for being with different men. Nicole was about to slap her, but she stopped herself. She demanded the phone. Holly gave her the phone, but refused to give her the password to it.

Brady let everyone at the mansion know that he was about to see Tate. He was about to leave when Holly stopped him. She apologized to Nicole for the drugs. Holly admitted the drugs were hers. EJ wanted to know why Holly confessed now. Brady yelled at Holly for lying about the drugs. He told her that Tate was in trouble and she didn’t say anything. Holly let it slip that Eric knew the truth. Nicole wanted to know why she told Eric the truth and not her. Holly knew Eric wouldn’t judge her and thought Nicole would blame herself. EJ wanted Nicole to tell them everything. EJ wondered if Tate was her dealer. Brady yelled at EJ, but Eric wanted him to calm down. Holly reminded Nicole about what happened when she recovered. She knew Nicole would blame herself because she was grieving over the baby. Holly thought it would be too much for her. Nicole comforted her. Tate told Theresa that Holly wasn’t a bad person, but she didn’t believe that. Theresa reminded him that he broke into the DiMera mansion and the DA was after him. He wanted her to keep her voice down. Theresa didn’t care who heard her talking. She told him that Holly wasn’t a good person. Theresa said Holly was bad news and she despised her. Nicole wished Holly confided in her. EJ wondered if she went to Eric because he was a priest. Eric told them how close he and Holly were. Brady yelled at Holly because Tate was at a halfway house because of her. EJ thought she was lying again. Holly said she had proof in her room. She wondered if Nicole was ashamed of her. Nicole told her that she wasn’t ashamed. She wished she went to her about what happened. Holly thought she wasn’t strong enough to handle it. She showed her the drugs that she had in her room. Nicole wanted to show everyone the drugs. Holly showed everyone the drugs. She said that Tate tried to stop her. Brady couldn’t believe she let Tate take the fall for everything.

Paulina and Abe went to the hospital to see if she’s cancer free. Sarah arrived to give Paulina her test results. Tate wanted Theresa to stop yelling. He didn’t need her getting mad at him on top of everything else. She realized that she shouldn’t lash out at him. Theresa thought Holly should have come forward if she cared about him. Tate believed Holly thought she did the right thing. Sarah told Paulina that she was cancer free. Paulina, Abe and Sarah were excited about the news. Sarah explained everything Paulina would have to do in the future. Brady called Holly out for ruining his son’s life. He demanded that EJ get Tate out of the halfway house immediately. EJ let him know that it wouldn’t be right away. Brady threatened him with a civil lawsuit if he didn’t fix the situation. He stormed out of the mansion. Holly blamed herself for what happened. Eric comforted Nicole after Holly stormed off. Nicole wanted to know how long he knew the truth. He told her that Holly told him that day. Brady arrived at the halfway house and told Tate that he could pack his bags. Tate and Theresa were excited. Brady told them that Justin was going to get the charges against Tate dropped. He let them know that Holly confessed to everything. Brady said that everyone would know that he told the truth all along. Nicole asked EJ if he had the charges against Tate dropped. He said it was a done deal. They talked about how Holly felt about everything. EJ realized that Holly cared about Tate very much. He knew Nicole wondered where Holly got the drugs. She wasn’t sure, but she knew they had to question her about the drugs. Tate was relieved that Holly came through for him. He wanted to call Holly. Theresa didn’t want him to go overboard thanking Holly. He admitted that he told her that she didn’t have to tell the truth about the drugs. Brady couldn’t believe he was going to continue to take the fall for Holly.

Eric talked to Sloan about Nicole hosting their Christening. She had trouble forgiving Nicole after what she did. Theresa and Brady talked about Tate staying away from Holly. She talked to Tate about focusing on his work and not on Holly. John told Marlena that he had to live with taking a woman’s life. He felt he had to live with it for the rest of his life. Marlena reminded him that he didn’t remember the time. She said there’s no evidence he had anything to do with her death. John told her that Steve was there. She explained that Steve and Stefano were there too. Marlena didn’t trust Steve’s memory. She said that what he’s going through hurts her. He never wanted to hurt her. Marlena said he was a good man. Melinda told Leo that he wasn’t going to the Christening. Leo insisted that he was going because they were responsible for why Eric and Sloan had Jude. Melinda threatened him to keep his mouth shut or he would go to prison. Sloan apologized to Eric about her attitude about Nicole hosting the Christening. She said it was kind of EJ and Nicole to host it. Sloan realized that it would be good for them. Holly let Nicole and EJ know that she wasn’t going to the Christening. They wanted to know what was wrong with her. She insisted that she was okay. Holly wanted them to go, but they refused if she didn’t go.

Leo didn’t like how Melinda brought up his arrangement with Sloan. Melinda comforted herself with knowing that Jude was being taken care of. Leo thought Eric was a good parent, but Sloan didn’t have a maternal nature. Holly didn’t want Nicole and EJ to miss the Christening. Nicole wondered if she was uncomfortable because Brady and Theresa would be there. She talked Holly into going to it. Marlena wanted John to put his guilt away for one day to focus on Jude. She wanted him to do it for her. John agreed to do it for her. Melinda arrived at Sloan’s place and asked her about Leo being invited to the wedding. She reminded Sloan that it would be wrong for Nicole and Leo to be together. John and Marlena arrived at the church. He felt like it calmed him down. They spotted Leo at the church. Leo approached them to see how they were doing. Other guests arrived at the church. Things got awkward for Brady and Theresa when Nicole and EJ arrived at the church. Roman tried to ease the tension by complimenting Nicole’s dress. Marlena noticed that John was troubled. He was having a hard time. Holly arrived at the church. She asked Theresa how Tate was doing. Theresa snapped at her. Brady stopped her from getting smart with her. The priest started the Christening. Leo thought about Nicole giving birth to Jude while the priest was christening him. She was upset because she thought Tate’s troubles would bring them closer together. Kristen thought she had a way to keep them apart. John felt like people manipulated him in the past. He wanted Steve to let him do what he needed to do. He knew Konstantin wouldn’t forgive him. Konstantin arrived and said he would forgive him. John couldn’t accept his forgiveness. He wanted to go to Greece and turn himself in for what happened to his daughter. John felt like that was his path to forgiveness. Marlena agreed to stand by his side, but she wanted him to think about it first. Steve didn’t think he should turn himself in for a crime he wasn’t sure he committed. He wouldn’t let John do it. Theresa wanted Holly to come clean and tell everyone that Tate didn’t give her the drugs. Brady reminded her that Holly didn’t remember anything. She hoped Sloan could help Tate. Brady noticed Alex and Kristen kissing at a table. They approached Alex and Kristen. Kristen played up their flirtation. Theresa wasn’t happy about it. She thought it was a random kiss. Kristen said they were dating. Brady warned Alex about being with Kristen. He walked away from the table so Kristen went after him. Theresa wasn’t happy that Alex moved on so quickly. Kristen approached Brady, and he told her that he didn’t care that she was seeing Alex. He assured her that he didn’t care that they were together. Brady hoped she didn’t scar Alex for life. John told Steve that he did kill the girl. Steve reminded him that he didn’t know that he pulled the trigger. Maggie warned John that searching for answers would take him away from his family. Marlena offered to try hypnosis. He reminded her that it didn’t work. John wanted to go to Greece and pay the price. Kristen warned Brady that he would regret being dismissive of her. Marlena tried to talk John out of punishing himself. John didn’t know how to get past it. Marlena offered to get through it together. Theresa gave Alex her blessing to date Kristen. She warned him not to come back to her when Kristen breaks his heart. Alex didn’t expect Theresa to see him kissing Kristen. Later, Alex and Kristen met up and talked about Theresa and Brady’s reactions to their plan. Maggie was proud of Konstantin for forgiving John. He felt it was time to forgive. She wanted to know why he didn’t tell her about what John did as the pawn. Konstantin explained why he didn’t say anything. She wanted to apologize for Victor’s actions. Marlena and Steve were glad that situation was done. John knew they wanted him to move on, but he couldn’t move on that easily.

Steve brought Abe’s things back to his apartment. He ran into Johnny. Steve and Johnny talked about Paulina’s miraculous recovery. Kayla, Chanel and Abe were with Paulina at the hospital. Paulina didn’t want to leave in a wheelchair. Kayla reminded her that it’s policy. Paulina understood and was ready to get out of the hospital. Abe wheeled Paulina out and they were approached by reporters. Jada knew Harris wasn’t home. He tried to downplay what he was doing. She knew he wasn’t alone. Jada figured out he was at Ava’s place. Harris admitted it and said he didn’t think it was a good idea to be alone. He wondered if she had a problem with it. Jada had a problem with her and him. Stefan talked to Chad about what happened between him and Abby. He didn’t know if he apologized to him for the situation. Stefan felt Chad and Abby didn’t deserve what happened. John confronted Steve about knowing the truth about Katarina. He didn’t understand why he didn’t tell him what happened. EJ told Stefan that he wasn’t any use to Harris. He also told Stefan that Harris said he was the one who shot him. Stefan wanted to make sure EJ would still help him. EJ assured him that he would help him. Eric informed Sloan that Jude’s christening would be at the DiMera mansion instead of the pub. She didn’t want to do that because of Nicole, but he felt like she needed it. John couldn’t believe that Konstantin was the one who told him the truth. Marlena let him know that Steve was afraid to tell him the truth. Steve told him it might not be the truth. John said that he killed someone’s daughter. Harris asked Ava when she spoke to Stefan. She thought it was a few days ago. He wanted to talk to him about Clyde, but he couldn’t find him. EJ took care of Stefan’s info so he could leave Salem. He didn’t think it would happen so fast. EJ reminded him that he didn’t help Clyde or Harris. He informed him that he didn’t have too many options left. Stefan didn’t like EJ sending him to a war zone. Ava asked Harris if Stefan had something to do with Clyde’s escape. Harris thought he did it because he loved Gabi. Stefan didn’t speak the languages of the countries EJ was sending him. EJ was willing not to help him.

Eric met with Brady and asked him to be the godfather to his son. He said he couldn’t do it. John decided to turn himself into the police for what he did. Stefan wanted to say goodbye to Gabi, but EJ didn’t think it was a good idea. He wanted EJ to say goodbye for him, but he refused to do it. EJ wanted Stefan to ride in the trunk. Brady didn’t think he was a good father which was why he turned down Eric’s offer. Eric tried to make him feel better. John wanted to turn himself in, but Marlena and Steve talked him out of it. He thought he was a good guy. Marlena assured him that he was a good guy. John tried to justify what he did to people, but he couldn’t do it anymore. Stefan demanded to know why EJ wanted a government job when he had the DiMera empire. EJ told him that he better be grateful for his help after what he did to Holly. Eric continued to convince Brady to be Jude’s godfather. Brady finally agreed to do it. Marlena tried to convince John that he wasn’t a bad person. He let her know that he helped Clyde break out of jail. John apologized for letting Clyde escape prison. He wanted to go to Konstantin to make things right. Steve reminded him that he’s trying to rip off Maggie. Brady talked to Eric about Holly lying about how she got the drugs. He was afraid that Tate’s life would be over if Holly didn’t tell the truth. EJ warned Stefan that Harris would be back to question the staff about him. Marlena didn’t want John to go to the police. Stefan went to Ava’s place and ran into Harris. Marlena recapped everything he did to help Tripp and Wendy. Steve read a story about what Clyde did to Tripp and Wendy. Harris asked Ava if there was news on Tripp and Wendy. She told him they were okay. Ava talked to him about Goldman. He wondered if Stefan had anything to do with what happened. She didn’t think he did. Eli told Julie that he got a promotion that requires him to do more traveling. Konstantin said that Maggie was a special woman. Maggie liked being special in his eyes. She wanted to be honest with him. Maggie felt guilty being close to another man. He felt Victor would want her to get close to someone else. Steve called Ava so they could meet in person. He wanted her to meet him in an hour. She agreed to meet him. Steve and John talked to Ava about what happened with Clyde. She told them that Goldman was Clyde’s girlfriend. Eli said goodbye to Julie and Maggie. He promised to keep in touch with everyone. Eric admitted to Marlena that Sloan seems like she’s jealous of Jude. He told her that he enjoyed being around him. Harris tried to call Stefan. He warned him that he would go after him if he didn’t call him. John called Konstantin and wanted to meet with him. Ava informed Steve that John seems like he checks out at times. He didn’t want to talk about John with her. Ava thanked him for bringing their son back. They didn’t agree with the way things went down. Maggie admitted to Julie that she thought about Konstantin. She felt guilty about it. Julie informed her that she had a right to be happy. She said Victor would want her to be happy and loved. Steve visited Marlena to tell her about John. John told Konstantin that his life hasn’t been the same since they met. Paulina opened her eyes and saw a woman in the room. Abe turned around and wondered if he was hallucinating. Paulina was shocked to see Lexie. She wondered if it was time for her to go. Abe wanted to know what was going on. Paulina asked him if he saw her. Abe said she died a long time ago. Rafe, Jada and Harris talked about what to do to find Goldman. John yelled at Ava for what she did. She told Steve and John that Tripp would be dead. Steve didn’t want to believe it. Ava blamed herself, but Steve yelled at her to shut up. He refused to give up finding their son. Tate went to see Holly. Abe told Paulina that he remembered reading that his first wife died. Paulina reminded him that Lexie died. He wanted to know if Lexie was there to take Paulina. Paulina said it was her time. Jada couldn’t believe she comforted Goldman when she was working for Clyde. John hoped Rafe could pick up on something they missed. Steve wanted to watch the video again. Lexie asked Abe if he remembered when he last saw her. Abe got his memory of Lexie back. He remembered everything. Holly regretted not listening to Tate when he warned her not to take drugs. He let her know that EJ accused him of giving the drugs to her. Abe talked to Lexie about being with Paulina. He looked at Paulina when she flatlined. He kept staring at her. Steve noticed that Wendy made gestures while Tripp made the video to them. He realized that Wendy was signing in the background. Tate wanted Holly to tell everyone that he didn’t have anything to do with the drugs she got. She said she couldn’t do it. Jada found an address that Goldman kept going to. They went to check it out. Steve, John and Ava found Tripp and Wendy. Abe talked to Lexie while Paulina flatlined. Abe said he needed Paulina. Lexie said she wasn’t there to take anyone. She was there to help Paulina. Lexie wanted her to feel the love inside his heart. She wanted him to transfer his love to her. He didn’t know how to do it. She wanted him to believe what’s in his heart. Tate told Holly that his life was ruined if she didn’t tell the truth. She said she couldn’t say the drugs were hers. Holly wanted to come up with another story. He demanded to know why she wouldn’t tell the truth. Holly explained that he couldn’t disappoint her mother. Tate couldn’t believe that she was going to ruin his life so she could pretend she’s still the golden child. He begged her to tell the truth. Someone tried to open the door. He wondered what it cost her. Eric visited with Holly. She said it was hard to accept losing some of her memory. Sloan talked to Tate and Theresa about Holly getting drugs. Holly talked to Eric about what happened on New Year’s. She couldn’t remember anything. Tate asked Sloan if she thought the case would go to trial. Sloan informed him that it would be hard to prove without Holly remembering how she got the drugs. She said she could do a plea deal for him. He refused to take a plea because he wasn’t guilty. Steve, John and Ava made a plan to get Tripp and Wendy. John and Steve were ready to get the things they needed. Ava wondered what they were talking about.

Nicole didn’t know what she would do if she lost Holly. They bonded while Nicole talked about her fears. Theresa felt like Tate should take the plea. He thought Holly would come around and tell the truth when she remembered it. Tate wanted to know if Holly knew what happened to him. Theresa wasn’t sure if he knew. Sloan wanted to talk to Theresa about Tate. She planned to file a complaint against EJ. She was’t sure if it wold work, but she wanted to try. Steve said they were prepared to get Clyde if he didn’t tell them Tripp’s location. Sloan warned Theresa that she couldn’t guarantee the outcome of Tate’s case, but she would do whatever she could to help. Tate took Theresa’s phone while she was talking to Sloan.

Marlena visited Paulina. She let Marlena know that she was scared. Ava snapped at Rafe because she was worried about Tripp. Rafe had to take care of business. Officer Goldman walked past Rafe. Everett turned out to be the one at the Horton house. Julie wondered why he was there. He thought someone broke in the house. She thought he was the arsonist coming back to finish the job. Everett wanted to know what she was doing there. Julie wanted to open her grandparents time capsule. Everett wanted to know why she was there. She wanted to look around for clues for the time capsule. Lani and Abe talked about Paulina running out of time. He said that Paulina was their rock and core. Julie and Chad ran down stairs and saw the flames in the living room. They yelled for help. Stefan saw Tripp, Ava and Wendy. Stefan and Tripp had an awkward exchange. Ava wanted to get some air. She saw Harris shot on the ground. Rafe and Jada talked about the drug dealer that got shot. Jada wondered if their conversation counted as a date. He said there was a lot of paperwork so it did. She agreed to take what she could get. He wondered what happened to Harris’ file. Ava tried to help Harris when she found him. She called Tripp to tell him about Harris. Kate and Lucas made sure they weren’t hit. Roman arrived and wanted to make sure they were okay. Kate told Roman that she wasn’t sure if she shot the person who broke in. Chad called the fire department and Julie went upstairs to wake Doug and the kids. Ava begged Harris not to die. The ambulance was on its way to them.

John got frustrated with Steve’s questions. Theresa saw Brady at her AA meeting. He felt like he needed to be there too. John admitted that he made a mistake meeting with Konstantin. Steve agreed with him. He wondered what he told Marlena. John admitted that he lied to her about meeting him. He didn’t understand what was happening to him. Clyde told Harris that he’s been in prison so he didn’t have anything to do with the drug bust. He blamed Harris for the bust going wrong. Harris showed him a phone, but Clyde never saw it before. John told Steve that he demanded that Konstantin tell him about his background. He said he taunted him. Konstantin told him that he had the eyes of a killer so he put his gun on him. He said he was the only who could put a bullet through a man’s eyes and Konstantin told him about a woman’s eyes. Konstantin told him about Katarina. John wanted to know if Steve knew about Katarina.

Theresa was surprised that Brady needed to go to a meeting. Brady told him about the letter he got from Tate. Theresa told him that Tate thanked her for what she did. Brady told her that his letter was different from hers. He admitted that he wasn’t a great father to his kids. Brady needed a fix because he thought about the way he treated his kids. He decided to go to a meeting instead. Sloan let Eric know that she felt like Jude was coming between them. Steve said that he didn’t know anything about Katarina. John suddenly had a panic attack. He calmed down, but he wanted to know what Steve remembered about the pawn. Steve wished he remembered. The only thin he knew is that John wasn’t that person anymore. He had to believe it and wanted John to believe it too. Harris wondered what they would find on the phone he showed Clyde. Clyde told him that the phone would incriminate someone he didn’t want to know about. Theresa wondered if Brady felt anything when she kissed him. She knew she felt something when she did it. Eric wondered why Sloan was upset with him lately. Sloan felt like she was worried about Jude being in the bed with them. She wanted to have sex and didn’t want to wait for him to be grown before they could have it. Eric and Sloan began to make love. Clyde and Harris put each other on notice. Ava told him that they needed to keep what happened a secret. Johnny talked to Chanel about his concerns about them getting married. He didn’t think it would be safe for them to get married. Wendy continued to talk to Tripp about Ava’s conversation. They thought she was trying to get them out of town. Tripp felt like Stefan got Ava mixed up in something. Stefan reminded Ava that he had more to lose than her if the truth came out. She said she had something to lose as well. He reminded her that he’s married. Ava didn’t want Harris to find out about what they did. Konstantin told John about him being a killer. John pulled a gun on Konstantin and told him that he could kill a man. Konstantin told him that a woman could get killed too. John wanted to know what that meant. Konstantin told him that Katarina got in the way when he tried to kill. He said he wanted to show him something and tell him what it meant. Konstantin showed him the card, and John backed up.

Konstantin called out to John, but he didn’t remember his name. He told him that his beautiful Katarina was taken from him. Johnny assured Chanel that he didn’t have second thoughts about the wedding. Chanel told him that she wasn’t afraid of his family. He asked her about Allie. She assured him that she didn’t love her anymore. He couldn’t get past it, and she wondered if he thought she was gay. Tripp and Wendy went home and saw Ava and Stefan together. Tripp demanded that Stefan leave the apartment. He warned Stefan to stay away from his mother. Johnny wondered if he would be enough for Chanel. She assured him that she’s ready to commit herself to him. Chanel didn’t need anyone else. She told him that he protected her even when they weren’t together. Konstantin was able to get John to put his gun to his head. He was ready to pull the trigger. After Stefan left the apartment, Tripp wanted answers from Ava. She refused to talk to him about what happened with him. Konstantin stopped John from shooting himself. He wanted John to do things first. Konstantin let him know that he would go back to his family for now.

Jade warned him that he had it bad for a woman who is bad news. Xander showed up at the DiMera mansion looking for EJ. Stefan told him that he wasn’t there. He wanted to know why he wanted to talk to EJ. Xander told him that he received a strange phone call. Brady assured Alex that his kiss with Theresa didn’t mean anything. He told him that he should get over his jealousy because he’s going to be around. Johnny asked Chad to marry him and Chanel. Chad didn’t want to bring an innocent person in the family. Johnny reminded him that he married his father and Nicole. Chad informed him that Nicole made the mistake getting in the family. Xander told Stefan about the blocked call he received. Someone wanted him to kill someone. Chad continued to let Johnny know that he should keep Chanel away as far as possible. Brady assured Alex that his interest in Theresa was only because she’s the mother of his son. He felt they could get back to normal now that Tate is getting help. Xander explained the phone call to Stefan. He told Stefan that he wasn’t an assassin for hire. Xander refused to murder anyone. Stefan thought it might be a wrong number, but Xander didn’t agree with that. He said the person knew him by name. Johnny refused to lose Chanel again. He wanted to get married with or without his blessing. Johnny was about to leave when Chad stopped him. Chad explained how it felt losing Abby.

Stefan told Xander that EJ wasn’t the one who called him. Xander reminded him that EJ wanted him to kill before. He wanted an explanation from him. Alex wanted to know if he had to worry about anything else as far as Brady was concerned. He wanted to know what it was like to be married to her. Brady didn’t remember being married to her since they were wasted. Brady wanted to know if he was going to marry Theresa. Brady warned Alex that Theresa has another side to her besides the fun side. He said he’s living proof that you could get sucked into her life. Johnny met with Chanel and told him what Chad said. She couldn’t believe Chad told him that. Chanel didn’t think they should run. She let him know that he wasn’t like his family. Xander assured Stefan that he’s changed. He wasn’t going to throw his life away because he has a family. Xander wanted Stefan to tell EJ that he wouldn’t do it. Stefan told him the DiMeras didn’t order him to kill anyone. Xander refused to kill for the family.

Kate and Roman saw someone walking in the pub after hours. She wondered who was in there. They looked in the window and saw Harris inside. Kate demanded answers about Lucas. Everett let Stephanie know that he can’t stand the friend zone. It’s not working for him anymore. Steve called out to John, but he didn’t hear him at first. He wondered why John was out at night. Steve came up with an excuse for why he was out late. John knew Marlena sent him to look for him. Steve admitted that he was worried about him. They talked about John’s memories being wiped out. Steve wished he could have some memories wiped out. Kate wanted to know why Harris was at the pub while Lucas was missing. Harris wanted a chance to explain. Everett let Stephanie know that he loves her and can’t live without her. Stephanie was surprised by what he said. He felt like he was obvious about his feelings for her. She said she was clear about her feelings too. He thought she liked spending time with him. Steve told John that he wanted to forget about working for Victor. He also wanted to forget about Konstantin because of his association with Victor. Steve and John felt like Konstantin reminded them of Victor. Harris let Roman and Kate see Lucas. He brought him to the house. Harris said that no one knew about Lucas being out of jail. Lucas knew Roman didn’t want to harbor the man who kidnapped his daughter. Roman was okay him being there.

Stephanie told Everett how she felt when he left her. She struggled wondering what she did wrong. John wanted to know what was going on with Steve. He thought it had something to do with Konstantin. Steve thought Konstantin knew about the pawn. John didn’t believe it. Steve felt they needed to find out if he knew about it. John wanted to know what they were going to do if he knew. Steve said Konstantin taunted him. John said they had to figure out how much he knew. Stephanie wondered why no one looked for Everett when he went missing. He didn’t understand it either. Everett told her that he didn’t respond to emails or phone calls so his boss thought he moved on. She wondered why his family didn’t try to find him. He told her that his memories started coming back. Everett said he world got better and stronger once he regained his memories. His goal was to get back to her. He told her that he still loved her. John arrived at the townhouse and Marlena wondered what happened. Kate let Lucas know that she panicked when she thought Harris couldn’t get him out of prison. Lucas wondered if Harris’ goal was to kidnap him. Roman wanted an explanation so Harris told him what happened. He said Lucas would have to return back to Statesville to serve out the rest of his sentence when the investigation was done. Roman reminded Lucas that he’s Kate’s son and he admired him for helping with the investigation.

Rafe and Harris talked about questioning Ava and Stefan. Sloan walked in the room ready to represent them. Chad thought Everett was lying, but he told him what he did for Stefan. He told Everett that he didn’t like Stefan so he wasn’t covering for him. Everett explained what Chad was doing. Chad reminded him that there weren’t any drugs at the Bistro. Everett wanted him to let the readers make up their minds. He wondered what Chad would do if the police found something at the restaurant. Chad wanted the story to be the headline. He wondered if Everett was going to stay at the paper or did he have to look for a new editor-in-chief. Sloan told Rafe and Harris they were harassing her clients. Harris wanted Ava and Stefan to tell him what they knew about Clyde. Johnny reminded Paulina and Chanel that he beat cancer. He believed Paulina could beat it too. Everett wanted Chad to promise that he wouldn’t cover for his family when it concerned news stories. Chad agreed to his terms so Everett decided to stay at the paper. Rafe asked Ava and Stefan if they were in contact with Clyde. Harris wanted them to explain why the visited Clyde if the didn’t know him. Sloan didn’t want them to answer anymore questions about them visiting Clyde.

Chanel tried to get Paulina to notice her engagement ring. Paulina finally saw the ring and got excited for her. Everett told Chad about having dinner with Stephanie and her family. Chad felt he didn’t have the right to ask Everett about Stephanie. He wished them the best. Stephanie showed up at the newspaper. Everett got a tip that Ava and Stefan were at the police station. He wanted to check out the story. Stefan admitted that he went to see Clyde because of what he did to his sister-in-law. Ava said that Clyde threatened to kill her son if she didn’t work for him. She turned him down. Harris didn’t believe her. He thought what she said was a lie. Sloan demanded that Harris back off Ava. She told Harris and Rafe they were leaving. Ava didn’t want to leave because she wanted to talk to Harris alone. Sloan and Stefan didn’t think that was a good idea. Ava was going to speak to Harris whether they liked it or not. Paulina couldn’t believe Chanel and Johnny were engaged. They told her they wanted to get married on Valentine’s Day. Paulina thought they were eloping, and she didn’t want to miss it. Chanel explained it would be a small ceremony because of what his family went through. Harris wanted answers from Ava. He promised to protect her because he loved her. Harris thought she knew how he felt about her. Ava wanted him to figure out a way to get over it. He kissed her. Sloan wanted to look at the warrant for Stefan and Ava. Everett showed up at the station. He warned Stefan that he planned to post the next story about him if he’s involved with the drug ring.

Marlena tried to wake John up, but he was ready to attack her. Maggie wanted to know why Steve was about to attack Konstantin. Steve warned her that Konstantin wanted to take advantage of her kindness. Harris questioned Clyde about the drugs he’s selling. Theresa admitted that she screwed up when she and Brady were together. She was afraid that he wouldn’t be her friend anymore since she messed up. Theresa liked how Brady was there for her. They kissed each other just as Alex walked in the room. He demanded to know what was going on. She said it wasn’t what he thought, but he didn’t believe her. Maggie couldn’t believe Steve thought she couldn’t tell when someone took advantage of her. Konstantin tried to explain, but Steve wouldn’t let him finish. Steve tried to convince Maggie that Konstantin was a con artist, but she didn’t want to hear what he had to say. John apologized for trying to attack Marlena. She understood because she was used to it. She noticed that he didn’t sleep in the bed with her. Marlena wanted to know what was going on with him. Clyde told Harris that he’s reformed and a model prisoner. He wanted to tell Harris about what’s happening in town. Clyde offered him an opportunity to work with him. Theresa told Alex that she kissed Brady because of the drugs. She insisted the kiss meant nothing. Brady confirmed her story. He said he doesn’t take advantage of people who are drugged. Theresa told him that she wanted to be with him. Maggie said that Konstantin could change because Steve changed. Steve tried to tell her that Konstantin had an agenda. He believed that he was trying to take advantage of her. Maggie thought Konstantin had a good heart. She felt like it wasn’t Steve’s business to interfere. Steve warned her to be careful.

Theresa wanted Alex to forgive her. She insisted that she got caught up in the moment because Brady’s the father of her son. Theresa agreed to go to meetings to get clean. Konstantin was grateful that Maggie defended him. She was tired of people harassing him. Maggie wondered if it was a good idea for him to be in Salem. Harris was determined to stop Clyde from destroying Salem with drugs. John talked to Steve about his problem sleeping. Steve told him about his run in with Maggie and Konstantin. He knew that Konstantin was up to something. Theresa assured Alex that the kiss with Brady meant nothing. Harris told Clyde that he was lucky Lucas was still alive. Clyde told him luck had nothing to do with it. He had a message for Harris. John and Steve continued to talk about Konstantin’s plans for Maggie. He thought they should give him the distance and enough rope to hang himself. Steve wasn’t sure that was possible. He wanted to do things John’s way for Maggie’s sake. Theresa told Alex that the kiss was reckless and impulsive. She thought it was a mistake. Theresa wondered if he believed her. Harris wanted to know what Clyde was talking about. Clyde warned him to leave him alone. Harris wasn’t afraid of him. He reminded him that he was in the military and didn’t have any family. Harris asked if he wanted to go after someone who had nothing to lose. Clyde didn’t believe he didn’t have anyone to lose. He thought someone meant a lot to him. Clyde said if that special person got hurt, it would be his fault.

Stefan talked to Gabi on the phone. He wanted to make sure she was okay. After his call with Gabi, he looked for Ava. Harris wanted to know what was going on with Ava. She tried to leave, but Harris stopped her. He thought she was back in the mob, but he knew that wasn’t it. She avoided telling him the truth. He wanted to help her. Ava told Harris that he didn’t find anything in the restaurant. She informed him that he scared off her customers. Ava wondered what he wanted from her. He said he wasn’t a cop. Harris cared about her and wanted to help her. Xander was aware that the apartment was crowded. He wondered if they needed everything in the apartment. She agreed they could get rid of things. Sarah wanted to get rid of his trunk. He didn’t want to get rid of it because it had sentimental value. Harris continued to ask Ava to open up to him. The Johnson family gathered for dinner. Steve grilled Everett about his relationship with Stephanie. Stephanie was embarrassed by Steve’s questions for Everett. Stefan interrupted Harris and Ava while they were talking. He informed Harris that he had to talk to his lawyer if he wanted info from them.

Stephanie let her father know that she was embarrassed by his questions. Steve wanted to get to know Everett better. Everett seemed okay with Steve’s questions. Tripp announced that he and Wendy had an announcement. Xander was in pain because he had to move Sarah’s gnomes. She thought is trunk was the reason why he was in pain. Sarah offered to give him a massage. She thought they should go to bed since Victoria was going to be up soon. Xander grabbed her wrist and pulled her into a kiss. Ava didn’t appreciate Stefan ordering her around. He thought she was going to open her mouth to Harris. Harris walked in the restaurant and saw the way Stefan manhandled her. He wanted to know if Ava would press charges against him. Stefan pulled Ava into a kiss. Tripp and Wendy talked about a scavenger hunt that they could try in Salem. Stephanie thought they could do it for charity. Harris didn’t approve of Stefan cheating on his wife. Stefan and Ava allowed him to believe they were together. Harris walked out of the restaurant. Ava couldn’t believe Stefan kissed her. He said he didn’t mean anything by the kiss.

The town celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Nicole ran into Abe and Paulina. Paulina asked her about Holly and she told her about the treatment facility. She’s praying that Holly could get helped the way EJ did. Nicole hoped for a miracle for Holly. Jada told Rafe about being racially profiled. Johnny and Chanel talked about Paulina’s biopsy. She was afraid her mother would get bad news. Chanel admitted to Johnny that she pretended to be okay so her mother wouldn’t be scared. He promised to keep her secret safe. Later, Johnny, Chanel, Rafe and Jada talked about equality. Chanel said she and Johnny’s parents were supportive of their relationship. Jada admitted that her mother wasn’t happy about her marrying a Jewish white man. They continued to share stories with each other. Johnny informed Rafe that he admired him. The group listened to Paulina’s podcast. Sloan and Leo ran into each other at the square. They argued about his budget. Leo informed her that he was back at the paper. She got nervous, but he assured her that he wouldn’t reveal her secret yet. Nicole wanted to know what happened. Sloan lied to her about her conversation with Leo. Nicole misunderstood what she meant and thought she was mad.

Sloan informed Nicole that she didn’t have a reason to be mad since she had a wonderful baby and husband. They talked about Holly. Nicole told her that she was going to Italy with Holly. Sloan admitted she was nervous about having dinner with John and Marlena. Nicole gave her tips to get through the dinner. While they were talking Sloan told her that she saw her with Holly and Eric. She didn’t tell Eric, but she was glad he got a chance to see Holly before everything happened. Sloan admitted that she had to accept that Eric loved both of them. Chad and Everett volunteered to clean the park for MLK Day. Everett got dizzy while they were working. Chad asked him what was wrong, and Everett told him that he gets dizzy sometimes. He offered to help him, but Everett didn’t need it. They went to the office and ran into Leo. Leo informed them about the article he was writing. Paulina was worried that her voice wouldn’t hold up on the podcast. Chad and Everett read Leo’s column and they were impressed with it. They weren’t sure about the consequences of publishing his article. Leo and Everett convinced him to publish it. After some convincing, Chad decided to publish the article. Abe supported Paulina as she waited for her biopsy results. She had to wait until tomorrow to get them. He wanted to be there for her as she waited. She was able to complete her podcast about equality and inclusion.
