Days of Our Lives Update

Brady brings Rachel and Kristen to the new apartment. Rachel calls the place awesome while Brady tells her that her stuff is already in her room and encourages her about there being a pool, hot tub, and playground downstairs. Kristen says most importantly, it’s safe and friendly place for her to live while Rachel declares the best part is that Kristen will be living with them as they hug.

Tate and Holly are at the Brady Pub as Holly complains that she looks awful and is breaking out. Holly then takes more of what she thinks are her skin supplements but are Sophia’s medication.

Sophia is in her room at Bayview and thinks back to sabotaging Holly’s skin care routine by switching her pills out and looks up that Holly’s pills could be taken up to four times a day.

Dimitri joins Leo in his room at the Salem Inn and complains that he’s been unable to deactivate his ankle monitor as none of his old ISA tricks worked. Leo says he did some research of his own and reveals his idea is lube.

Sarah walks through the town square and sees Xander and Gwen in each others’ arms. Xander decides he will get them some scones. Gwen tells him to hurry back. They kiss and Xander then walks away. Gwen then calls out to Sarah and says she knows she just saw her and Xander, so she asks if Sarah is afraid of what she has to say to her. Sarah responds that she was walking away because she doesn’t give a damn what she has to say. Gwen asks if she doesn’t give a damn that she and Xander spent all night making passionate love just like the old days. Sarah says if Xander wants to be involved with a wretched human like her, then he can do whatever the hell he wants. Xander comes back and says good morning to Sarah. Sarah responds that she has to go to work and walks away.

Brady reminds Rachel that Kristen is only staying there until she finds her own place, maybe a month or so. Rachel asks what if she doesn’t find a place that fast. Kristen tells her not to worry about that as her focus is on taking care of her, which means they have to be prepared for her hearing. Brady brings up Belle wanting the judge to know that Rachel is in therapy and doing well, so they have to go to Dr. Fuller today. Rachel questions if they have to and brings up school. Brady says they will bring her in a little late. Rachel argues that it’s Thomas’s last day before he goes to Arizona. Rachel adds that it’s also Jeremy’s last day which Kristen guesses she isn’t upset about. Rachel says she doesn’t care either way. Brady hopes she’s not planning to pull any prank on him. Rachel says no way and asks why she would do that. Brady repeats that he hopes she wouldn’t and that the judge wants to know that she is doing well and obeying the rules. Brady adds that therapy is also about getting her to feel better. Rachel says whatever as long as she doesn’t have to see Dr. Gregory anymore or go back to Bayview. Kristen tells her she will never again.

Leo tells Dimitri that he will just smear the lube on his ankle which Dimitri jokes feels kind of good. Leo tries pulling the ankle monitor off to no avail. Dimitri guesses he doesn’t want to kiss it to make it better.

Holly looks up Maisy’s social media and wonders if she should send her a message to apologize since she was pretty awful to her. Tate asks if she’s actually sorry. Holly admits she’s not but she’s mortified that she lost it in front of everybody. Holly decides it doesn’t matter since she already blew it with the sorority. Tate asks about all the others she rushed but Holly says it’s too late as she turned down all of their bids. Holly is then surprised to see that Maisy tagged her in a post, but panics when she sees what it is.

Leo reminds Dimitri that he’s only helping him because he believes he’s innocent. Leo states that he does care about Dimitri but his heart belongs to Javi. Dimitri argues that Javi left town with no return date. Leo argues that Javi will be back and until then, he will be loyal and true, so he doesn’t want Dimitri to take advantage of this situation. Leo tells Dimitri to just give it up because it’s a lost cause. Dimitri says just like his ankle monitor but Leo refuses to accept defeat on that. Leo then goes back to trying to remove the ankle monitor.

Brady and Kristen bring Rachel to the hospital where Sarah greets them. Sarah tells Rachel it’s good to see her and she’s so glad she is home. Rachel apologizes again to Sarah for what she did. Sarah says it’s okay and she already accepted her apology, so they are good. Rachel then hugs Sarah. Kristen says they need to get to her appointment. Brady tells Rachel he will be there waiting to drive her to school. Sarah tells Rachel to have a good session. Kristen then tells Brady that she will see him at home and glares at Sarah as Kristen walks Rachel to her appointment. Sarah asks Brady what that was about.

Xander and Gwen sit together in the town square. Gwen asks if he’s upset that she told Sarah about them. Xander asks why he would be. Gwen guesses it must have been satisfying to see Sarah all bothered like that. Xander is just glad she knows that he’s moved on. Gwen says it’s not like they have a real relationship and that it’s just fun with no depth. Xander thinks being friends with benefits suits them both nicely. Gwen asks how often he wants to take advantage of the friends with benefits thing. Xander responds that he was thinking as often as possible as they kiss.

Sophia continues to read about the side effects of the pills and goes to read the comments on the video of Holly going off on Maisy. Sophia happily reads a comment that says Holly is a bitch.

Holly can’t believe this is happening and tells Tate that a video of her going off on Maisy is posted on her page. Holly panics about Maisy having a ton of followers and how everyone is going to see this. Holly then sees #HollyJonasIsABitch is a trending hashtag and asks how they can say that when they don’t even know her. Tate tries to tell her it’s going to be okay but Holly disagrees and asks how he doesn’t see that. Holly declares her social life is over and that it’s all Sophia’s fault. Tate doesn’t understand what Sophia has to do with the video. Holly asks if he’s defending her now. Tate says he’s not and just doesn’t understand. Holly argues that Maisy is clearly in to Tate. Tate argues that he’s never even met her while Holly complains that she obviously knows who he is. Holly complains that the whole reason she went off is because Maisy went on about how hot Tate is and that she could basically get him to have sex with her, which Tate questions, arguing that it doesn’t make sense. Holly remarks that everyone in town loves to gossip so maybe Maisy has heard how easy it was for Sophia to take him away from her.

Sarah questions Brady thinking Kristen glared at her like she wanted to kill her because she noticed lipstick on his collar. Brady confirms he’s pretty sure that’s the reason. Sarah asks if it caused a problem for him. Brady says no and that he ignored her reaction. Brady adds that he didn’t get defensive which he thinks showed Kristen that she has no power over what they decide to do. Sarah remarks that it sounds familiar as she has no power over what Xander does nor does she want it, but she found out that Xander and Gwen are sleeping together again. Brady asks if she’s serious. Sarah confirms that she saw them in the town square. Brady can’t believe it after everything Gwen did to Sarah. Sarah says that it’s fine and as long as it doesn’t affect Victoria, Xander can do whatever the hell he wants.

Xander and Gwen kiss in the town square until Kristen interrupts and comments on their young love. They respond that it’s not love and just fun. Kristen asks Gwen if they are still on for breakfast. Gwen says definitely, so Kristen asks if Xander is joining them. Xander says he was just leaving and needs to get to work anyway, so he kisses Gwen and then quickly exits. Kristen sits down and remarks that it looks like Gwen finally got the man she always wanted. Gwen says she wouldn’t go that far as what she wants from Xander now is completely different from what she wanted before. Gwen adds that she had a really long dry spell, so she’s pleased that’s over and she gets to have tremendous sex while her husband gets to rot in prison.

Dimitri complains that he has a passport and a private jet but he’s trapped here by the ankle monitor. Leo thinks he has a solution to an alternate approach. Leo says they might not be able to get the ankle monitor off, but he knows who can.

Brady asks if it didn’t bother Sarah to see Gwen and Xander together in that way. Sarah insists that it didn’t and if anything, it made her feel a bit envious that they had consumated their relationship. Sarah adds that it inspired her to maybe want to get more lipstick on Brady’s collar. Brady asks if they’re allowed to do that here. Sarah tells him that she has a key to the supply closet. Brady points out that he hasn’t done anything in the supply closet in a long time but they have a few moments before Rachel comes back from her appointment. They think they can get in and out in time, but they get interrupted by Leo arriving with Dimtiri, claiming they need a doctor.

Gwen asks Kristen how her move in with Brady went. Kristen responds that she’s in the door and that offering joint custody of Rachel worked out so much better than she could have hoped. Gwen points out that she’s only there for a month while Kristen argues that she’s not that easy to get rid of. Gwen asks if she’s not concerned about going back to prison. Kristen says she’s free now. Gwen says everyone’s free until they aren’t, bringing up Dimitri. Kristen states that she has Rachel home, safe and sound, and she’s sharing a cozy apartment with her and the man she loves, so for the moment that’s all she cares about. Gwen toasts to both of them getting what they want while Kristen adds screw anyone who gets in their way.

Sarah checks Dimitri out at the hospital and guesses his ankle monitor must be too tight. Dimitri claims it’s been irritated ever since he fell and twisted his ankle. Sarah notes not seeing any swelling or bruising and asks if he put something on it. Dimitri claims it was ointment. Sarah questions his pain tolerance for a former ISA agent. Dimitri asks if she’s going to help him or not. Sarah mentions that getting an x-ray will require getting the ankle monitor removed, so she’ll have to call the supervising agency. Dimitri thanks her and pretends to be in pain until she leaves the room.

Tate tells Holly that he doesn’t get it as he thought they worked through this. Holly complains that he just wants her to forget thinking he got Sophia pregnant and then Sophia tried ruining her life and somehow made her look like the cheating skank in it all. Tate doesn’t expect her to just forget everything that happened but he doesn’t understand how angry she sounded at her just now as he thought they made up at Bayview. Holly says they said they were sorry to each other but that doesn’t mean they are suddenly BFFs. Holly remarks that she thinks that she knows why Sophia called her back to Bayview.

Sophia’s nurse brings her meds to her in her room at Bayview.

Tate asks why Holly thinks Sophia called her to Bayview. Holly complains that Sophia obviously wants out of Bayview and will do whatever her doctor wants to make her happy. Tate questions Holly thinking Sophia faked an apology to get her doctors to think she’s doing better. Holly insists that she saw the look in Sophia’s eyes and she still hates her with a vengeance. Holly doesn’t think Sophia is over what happened at all. Tate then asks if Holly is over it.

When the nurse turns her back, Sophia spits out her pill and hides it under her pillow. Sophia then writes on her board that the medicine helps but not for long so the nurse says she will talk to Dr. Gregory about upping her dosage.

Xander goes to work at Titan, talking on the phone about making a risky move. Xander declares that this cannot be traced back to him in any way.

Kristen offers to cover their bill but Gwen says she can pay her own as she got enough money to hold her over until her cards are unfrozen. Gwen declares that it’s only a matter of time before she’s filthy rich again since Dimitri is a prime suspect in the DiMera kidnappings. Kristen remarks that it does work out quite well for Gwen that Dimitri was conspiring with Peter all along, according to her. Gwen asks what she means. Kristen tells her that she doesn’t actually believe it.

Sarah has a cop outside the room and tells Dimitri that he will be taken for an x-ray and then she’ll be back to go over his results with him. When Sarah exits the room, Dimitri pulls out his phone and begins undoing his handcuff.

Leo asks Brady what’s next after being canned from Basic Black. Brady doesn’t want to share anything with him. Leo then gets a text from Dimitri telling him to do it. Leo asks Brady if he and Kristen are back together because he also heard that he’s dating Sarah. Brady decides to go and walks away, allowing Leo to sneak over and pull the fire alarm.

Dimitri gets dressed in an EMT uniform as he escapes from his hospital room.

Rachel joins Brady and asks Sarah what’s going on. Sarah says it’s probably a false alarm but suggests they go while she goes to check on patients. Rachel questions why someone would pull the fire alarm if there’s no fire as they head for the stairs.

Sarah returns to Dimitri’s room to find him gone and rushes back out, screaming for the officer that Dimitri has escaped.

Gwen doesn’t understand Kristen being skeptical about Dimitri working with Peter. Kristen explains that Peter had a lot of resentment towards everyone in the family, so it doesn’t make sense that he would throw his lot in with that creep. Kristen thinks it’s too wild of a coincidence that Gwen’s ex showed up in Salem just in time to cause chaos at Leo and Javi’s wedding. Gwen calls that a complete surprise to her, insisting that she didn’t even know if Dimitri was dead or alive. Kristen tells her to calm down as she’s not interested in punching a hole in her story, but she knows she’s up to something.

Xander says on the phone to let him know when they run the numbers as he’ll be available all day. Xander hangs up and looks at his hand with his wedding ring as he flashes back to his wedding to Sarah. Xander then flashes back to sleeping with Gwen last night. Xander then gets emotional as he removes his wedding ring.

Tate says that Holly told him she wanted to put everything with Sophia behind them. Holly responds that she doesn’t think she can. Tate argues that just the other day, she said she was sure she could move past things and now suddenly she’s changing her mind. Tate doesn’t understand why she changed her mind. Holly says she’s just being honest and asks if he’d rather she lie and pretend everything is perfect when it clearly isn’t. Tate doesn’t know what’s going on but says this is not like her at all as she’s never this angry and impatient with him. Tate questions what is happening and asks her to say something. Holly cries that she doesn’t know and it’s not going to be okay. Holly then tells him to leave her alone and storms out of the Pub.

Sophia hides her pills in her drawer and pulls out her phone.

Brady walks Rachel through the town square. Rachel wonders if everything is okay at the hospital. Brady confirms that Sarah texted him that it was a false alarm. Rachel asks if she can wait here while Brady picks up the food. Brady agrees as he heads to get the food. Rachel then pulls her phone out of her backpack and gets a text from Sophia, saying she needs to ask her a little favor.

Dimitri joins Leo outside the Brady Pub and tells him that was a brilliant plan. Dimitri insists that everything will be smooth sailing from now on. Leo worries that everything could still go wrong. Dimitri asks where Leo’s car is and declares their plane awaits. Leo reluctantly says Alamainia here they come as he follows Dimitri.

Abe and Paulina drop Theo off in the town square and wish him luck on his Valentine’s Day date with Jada. Theo insists it’s not a Valentine’s Day date and that he just asked Jada out because it’s the first day he’s felt well enough since the last time they were supposed to go out. Abe says he doesn’t have to explain himself as they are not making any assumptions. As Theo walks away, Paulina mentions that he’s still recovering from his head injury while Abe notes that he just hopes he doesn’t get his heart broken again. Paulina encourages that Jada is a good woman so she’s sure he will be fine. Paulina says they should focus on love, not heartbreak and start getting in the mood for some romance of their own as they kiss.

Brady goes to Kristen’s room at the Salem Inn where Rachel invites him in. Rachel tells him about the fun they’ve been having and mentions that they also made valentines. Rachel presents Brady with his valentines, one from her and one from Kristen.

Gabi and Philip return to their room in Miami after having dinner and going to the beach. They kiss until realizing that Philip was stung by a jellyfish earlier.

At the Brady Pub, Roman greets Jada and brings her menus as Jada informs him that she has a date. Theo then arrives to join her and says he’s glad she was free tonight as they agree it’s been a long time coming. Theo hopes it was worth the wait and Jada is sure it will be.

EJ brings Cat in to the living room of the DiMera Mansion where he has dinner set up for them. Cat brought a bottle of wine but says it will likely pale in comparison to the DiMera wines she’s heard about. EJ informs her that he had Harold bring some up already. EJ goes to get his favorite wine but then angrily realizes that it’s gone.

Xander and Gwen lay in bed in Gwen’s room, drinking wine until Gwen decides she’s had enough and says they are done here. Xander questions what she means. Gwen tells him that she wants him to leave, leaving Xander confused.

Roman tells Jada and Theo to have a great night as he leaves for his own Valentine’s Day date. Jada talks about Valentine’s Day creeping up on her after the past few weeks and says it’s good to see Theo back on his feet. Jada hopes being back at the Pub is not triggering for him. Theo assures that he could handle going back to the Crypt so he can handle this and asks how he couldn’t feel safe when his date is also the police commissioner.

Philip tells Gabi that he’s fine but Gabi disagrees and says she’s taking him to the shower. Philip agrees only on the condition that she join him in the shower.

Cat asks EJ about someone taking his wine. EJ guesses it was Gwen and Xander, who he calls his mortal enemy and complains about Gwen bringing home with her. EJ says it doesn’t matter and they’ll enjoy Cat’s bottle while trying to enjoy the world going to Hell in a hand basket around them.

Xander questions Gwen wanting him to go. Gwen admits it’s been fun but says that’s all it is and there’s no substance, so it was completely meaningless for her since Xander is in love with another woman.

Brady thanks Rachel for the valentines. Rachel asks if he’s joining their sleepover. Brady says he can’t but he wanted to bring the apartment key over to their new place. Brady then informs Rachel that until Tate is done with school, Kristen will be staying in his room which thrills Rachel, who calls it her dream come true. Brady wants her to understand it’s only temporary and does not mean they are getting back together. Rachel doesn’t understand and questions why he’d let Kristen move in with them if they are not getting back together. Brady explains that it’s very expensive to stay in a hotel and Kristen doesn’t have a job. Rachel points out that Brady doesn’t have a job either. Brady says just because they are living together for a short time does not mean anything is going on between them and that’s not going to change.

After their shower, Gabi puts cream on Philip’s back and thanks him for getting her a bracelet as they kiss.

Abe and Paulina go to the Bistro for dinner which Paulina calls a perfect Valentine’s Day. Paulina says she’s here with the man she loves while her baby girl is having another baby, Eli and Lani are moving back home with their grandbabies, and Theo is fully recovered. Abe calls it a wonderful life that keeps getting better.

Jada still can’t believe Theo got grabbed right outside the Pub and she couldn’t stop it. Jada assures that she’s not letting him out of her sight tonight.

Xander admits until very recently, he was trying to better himself in hopes that Sarah would want him back and that he intended to regain her trust. Xander tells Gwen that he can’t promise her meaningful because he has no idea where this will lead, but he promises she’s the only woman he’s thinking about when he’s with her. Xander calls Gwen very special and says he’s madly attracted to her. Gwen decides she can have a bit more fun with no depth since he’s only thinking of her as they kiss.

EJ and Cat have dinner in the living room. Cat brings up their connection in Italy and asks if he’s remembered anything else about their time there. EJ says he hasn’t and Cat hasn’t either. EJ says they still don’t know what brought her to his room in the first place. Cat says it could just be a bizarre coincidence while EJ says perhaps it was fate.

Brady decides it’s time to go and reminds Rachel that it’s past her bedtime. Rachel wants to stay up until midnight. Kristen says they will discuss that after Brady leaves and sends her to shower. Brady questions Kristen letting Rachel stay up until midnight. Kristen argues that they are having a sleepover and thought he was leaving. Kristen mocks Brady’s speech to Rachel about not getting her hopes up. Brady responds that there was one more thing he needed to do while he’s there.

Philip and Gabi drink wine in their room while Philip jokingly asks if she’s trying to get him to open up about Basic Black’s spring launch. Gabi responds that Gabi Chic doesn’t consider Basic Black competition. Philip says that hurts but he gets it considering Basic Black and Titan may be on the verge of financial ruin.

Jada tells Theo that Gabi said they should have another try at their trivia night double date when she and Philip get back from Miami which Theo questions. Jada tells him about Philip and Gabi taking a mini vacation to Miami for Valentine’s Day. Theo is surprised but disappointed as he remarks that he hopes they have a good time, while he then flashes back to dreaming about wanting to kiss Gabi when he was in the hospital. Jada asks where he went just now and worries that the Pub was the wrong place to come but Theo insists that he’s fine. Theo declares that he will focus on only her for the rest of the night.

EJ tells Cat that he thinks there might be a way for them to access their missing memories and they could try it tonight if she’d be interested. Cat questions what they would be doing. EJ suggests she could read to him from Wuthering Heights. Cat asks if he thinks it could actually work. EJ feels it’s worth a try as putting one in the mindset of memories could help. EJ asks if they should give it a go. Cat agrees they have nothing to lose, so EJ hands her the book. Cat has him lean back and close his eyes as she begins to read.

Xander and Gwen continue kissing in bed.

Cat reads more to EJ, sparking a flashback to Cat reading to EJ in the hospital in Italy, until they are startled by a noise upstairs. EJ questions what that was and says he’s going to find out, but Gwen and Xander come downstairs in robes, telling them there’s nothing to worry about and that they just broke the bed which grosses EJ out. Xander jokingly asks if they have a bed repairman to call. EJ says there’s no one to call this late at night and call this a sign from the universe that their little date has come to an end. Cat adds that they are still in the middle of their work dinner. Gwen laughs at a work dinner on Valentine’s Day while Xander says they’d hate to interrupt that. Gwen is sure they can find a way to pass the time even without a bed as they head back upstairs.

Gabi tells Philip that she knew things were bad at Titan but she didn’t know things were that dire. Philip says they are still afloat for the time being but they have a loan coming due soon and the Kiriakis Estate is the collateral. Gabi asks if that’s why they didn’t take the Kiriakis private jet. Philip confirms that will soon go away unless a miracle happens. Gabi says she’s so sorry. Philip questions what she has to be sorry for. Gabi thinks back to telling Theo that he couldn’t tell anyone that she thought Tony was going to make her CEO of DiMera because she planted the bug to spy on Philip and Xander. Gabi then tells Philip that she’s just sorry for what he’s going through as she never thought unmerging DiMera would be so crippling to Titan.

Brady tells Kristen that he didn’t want to do this while Rachel was around but presents her with papers for joint custody of Rachel and restricts her living in the apartment for one month. Kristen says she will have Melinda look it over in the morning but Brady declares if she wants to move in tomorrow morning, she will sign them tonight.

Jada asks Theo about his breakup with Claire. Theo says he wasn’t hopeful he could get over it until he met Jada and that made him hopeful. Jada says she’s flattered. Theo says he really enjoys her company, calling her intelligent and interesting. Jada feels the same about him and adds that he’s quite handsome. Theo tells her that she’s very beautiful and he’s glad they matched on the dating app.

Philip appreciates Gabi’s sympathy but notes that she seems really uncomfortable talking about the unmerging and asks if there’s any particular reason. Gabi says her mom always told her that if she did something wrong, she should confess right away because if she found out later from someone else, she’d be in much more trouble. Philip relates that his dad said the same thing but he never found it true because Victor would get just as mad no matter who told him or when. Philip asks what made Gabi think of that. Gabi claims she doesn’t know and blames the wine making her nostalgic. Gabi thinks they should just focus on the present as they kiss.

Kristen questions Brady wanting her to sign Rachel’s joint custody agreement without having her lawyer look at it first. Brady says that’s the deal; no signature, no key. Kristen reluctantly agrees and signs the papers. Brady says that was easy and he’ll have Justin file them in the morning. Kristen then questions lipstick on Brady’s collar.

Xander and Gwen go back to her room with bottles of wine, laughing about the look on EJ’s face when they told him about the bed. Gwen asks what they are going to do. Xander says he doesn’t know as he’s never broken a bed before. Gwen calls it both of their first times while Xander suggests making a habit of it. They agree to break bed as they resume kissing.

EJ complains about Xander coming to his home and breaking a bed, but points out it’s not as egregious as stealing DiMera from under him or bidding against him for the hospital. Cat points out that Xander lost his bid. Cat asks what made EJ and Xander both so interested in acquiring the hospital. EJ responds that for him, the real interest laid in a patent to the revolutionary new drug Versavix which once brought to market, stands to be a huge source of revenue and a miracle drug. Cat asks if there are other drugs being developed at the hospital. EJ says that Versavix is the only one in the pipeline at the moment. Cat is surprised he was willing to share the information with her then, since it hasn’t gone to market yet. EJ says that since they are working together, he thinks it’s best there be 100% transparency between them.

Roman goes to the Bistro and greets Abe and Paulina. Paulina says she didn’t expect to see him tonight. Roman explains that Kate got stuck at work, so he came to get takeout to bring Valentine’s Day to her. Roman tells them to have a great night and goes to get his order. Paulina comments on Roman being sweet and how Kate told her that Roman is the quintessential romantic, always bringing her flowers. Abe stops her and points out that he’s pretty romantic too. Paulina is sure he will show her when they get home tonight, so Abe calls for the check.

Jada and Theo leave the Pub together. Theo mentions not being able to drive yet after his injury, so Jada offers him a ride home. They call it their second date with a much better ending as they kiss.

Philip and Gabi kiss in bed.

Kristen tells Brady that she can guess whose lipstick that is. Brady calls for Rachel that it’s time for him to go. Kristen remarks that he should probably get rid of the shirt because of how hard it is to get lipstick stains out. Rachel comes back in and asks if he can stay longer. Brady wishes he could but says he will let them enjoy their slumber party. Brady tells Rachel he loves her as they hug and wish each other a happy Valentine’s Day. Brady then exits. Rachel tells Kristen that she’s so excited she’s moving in, but wants it to be longer and asks if it could be forever. Kristen tells her they’ll see.

Xander and Gwen kiss until Xander asks if EJ is right that it’s time for him to go home. Gwen points out that it is very late and he is too sloshed while her car is undrivable, so maybe he should just stay the night. Xander says he’d love to. Gwen suggests they go find another room in the huge mansion and break another bed. Xander accepts as they exit together.

Cat asks EJ if he wants her to read again to see if he remembers any more from their stay in Italy. EJ decides he’s had enough delving in to the past for tonight. Cat knows he has a lot going on right now. EJ brings up that his father’s will is going to be read soon and part of him is dreading it. Cat asks why. EJ responds that even though he knows what’s in it, it still wouldn’t surprise him if Stefano found a way to pit him and his siblings against one another as they look to the portrait of Stefano on the wall.

Alex and Stephanie go to the honeymoon suite at the Salem Inn. They talk about being lucky to get it on Valentine’s Day. Stephanie points out they got a new bodyguard for the night so Jada can enjoy her date with Theo on Valentine’s Day. They kiss and then head inside.

Steve and Kayla have Valentine’s Day dinner at the Bistro. Steve says every time they get to celebrate it, he’s even more grateful than the year before, especially this year. Steve tells Kayla that he will never forget their very first Valentine’s wedding night as they flash back to it. Kayla says she’ll never forget it either as they toast to them. Kayla is happy that Steve could get off bodyguard duty so they could be here together. Steve is sorry that the stalker situation has taken him away from her. Kayla is glad that he’s protecting their daughter but admits she has missed him. Steve assures that Jada is staying near Alex and Stephanie all night which means he gets to come home with Kayla and stay all night. Kayla says she likes that as they kiss.

Jeremy talks with Thomas in the living room of the Horton house. Jeremy thanks Thomas for helping him carry his things to the car and brings up that tomorrow is both of their last days in Salem. Thomas says they are coming back and asks if Jeremy is. Jeremy says not for awhile at least and encourages Thomas being excited for his trip. Thomas admits he will miss Jeremy. Jeremy says he will miss him too.

Chad brings flowers to Abigail’s grave and talks about thinking of her a lot every day as he wishes her a happy Valentine’s Day.

Jeremy tells Thomas that since he’s still his teacher for one more day, he brought home his lesson plans for the next two weeks. Julie comes in with cookies for them. Thomas asks if Julie is sad that they are all leaving. Julie says of course she is, but she’ll be okay on the condition that Thomas sends pictures from their trip every day and then tell her all about his adventures when he gets home. Thomas agrees as they hug.

Chad talks about looking at a picture from last Valentine’s Day and how much their kids have grown, reminding him more of Abigail every day. Chad is thankful their kids are a piece of what they were, so their love story can still exist. Chad says he’s trying to do right by their kids and Abigail. Chad admits sometimes he feels like he’s doing a pretty good job, but other times he feels like he’s just trying. Chad says he often thinks if Abigail were there, she’d know what to do or say. Chad says most of the times it’s just being there and doing the best they can. Chad tells Abigail that they are going to Arizona to stay with Sonny and Will for awhile where they will reset and regroup as a family. Chad doesn’t know if that’s what she would’ve done but he thinks it’s what they need. Chad says Abigail’s voice is still in his hear, her love is in his heart, and he still misses her every single day. Chad says goodbye but he knows he will take a piece of Abigail and Salem where ever they go. Chad states that he loves Abigail with his whole heart and their love really was once in a lifetime. Chad places a candy heart on Abigail’s grave and wishes her a happy Valentine’s Day as he says goodbye for now.

Alex carries Stephanie in to their room where he had it decorated for Valentine’s Day. Stephanie kisses him as she calls it very romantic and thanks him. Alex says it’s the least he could do after they got married on Valentine’s Day. They wish each other a happy Valentine’s Day as they kiss.

Steve hopes after tomorrow, he will be able to come home to Kayla for good. Kayla says that would be so nice for so many reasons. Kayla asks if they are all ready for their sting operation. Steve confirms they are and says once Jeremy finds out Alex and Stephanie are getting married, they expect Jeremy to show up to the courthouse where Alex and the undercover cop will be waiting for him and catch him. Kayla says she’s no fan of Jeremy but she finds it hard to believe that Jeremy would try to kill Alex and Julie insists that he’s innocent, so it would break Julie’s heart if he’s guilty. Steve says the last thing he wants to do is hurt Julie, but the evidence against Jeremy is overwhelming so he’s not holding out hope. Steve declares that if it isn’t Jeremy, then they have no idea who it is which could be an even bigger problem.

Chad goes home and joins Thomas in the living room. Chad asks how his day was and notes his collection of candy and cards. Thomas asks Chad if he’s sad today since he said he gets sad sometimes on holidays. Chad calls him smart and sensitive, adding that his mother would be very proud. Chad admits he is a little sad today because of missing Abigail. Thomas brings up Julie being sad too. Chad says Doug was Julie’s valentine for a lot of years. Chad adds that holidays can also make you happy and think about the good times. Thomas admits he’s been thinking about Abigail a lot today and mentions the candy hearts she used to get them. Chad then surprises him with a box of them and asks how his school party was. Thomas says it was good and tells him that Rachel is back. Chad mentions hearing that. Thomas shows Chad the card that she got him that says her dad made her write it which they laugh about.

Jack and Jennifer go to the Bistro, surprising Kayla and Steve as they wish each other a happy Valentine’s Day. Kayla asks if they came for a romantic dinner. Jennifer says they actually just came for dessert and asks how their anniversary is going so far. Kayla calls it perfect and invites them to join them. Jack says they don’t want to impose but Steve insists and they were going to visit them before they leave anyway. Jennifer says they don’t want to crash but Kayla says Steve is off duty and they were going to celebrate all night anyway.

Alex reminds Stephanie about the champagne while Stephanie points out they have all night but realizes Alex had it all planned out. Stephanie goes over what his plan likely was but says being spontaneous is also good. Alex points out this being their first time as husband and wife, so Stephanie decides anticipation can be a good thing too. Alex changes his mind and says it’s already perfect. Alex adds that they don’t just have all night, but the rest of their lives as they kiss. Alex removes his shirt as they kiss onto the bed.

Chad and Thomas talk with Julie about their trip to Arizona. Julie encourages Thomas about seeing the Grand Canyon. Julie says she’s envious as it will be a great trip. Chad says they are leaving right after school tomorrow, so he sends Thomas to get packed. Julie tells Chad that it’s wonderful to see Thomas excited about being with him. Chad never thought they’d get back there again. Julie says this trip will be a milestone in the children’s lives that they will never forget. Julie cries that it’s going to be great, but admits she’s going to miss them so much.

Alex and Stephanie lay in bed together after having sex. Stephanie mentions getting thirsty and suggests opening the champagne. Alex thought maybe they could go grab a bite to eat. Stephanie says everywhere will already be booked on Valentine’s Day. Alex then reveals that he had a reservation at the Bistro, so they better get going. Stephanie remembers that’s where Steve and Kayla are having their anniversary dinner, so Alex suggests they could just order room service but Stephanie says she wants to see her parents. Alex questions if she wants to tell her parents that their only daughter got married without them. Stephanie says they will have a big wedding later and her parents are hopeless romantics, so they will understand. Alex says he hopes so. Stephanie then adds that there is one other problem they have with going out and that’s that no one else can know they are already married if they want to find her stalker.

Jennifer mentions Chad taking the kids to Arizona, so she asks Kayla and Steve to look in on Julie which they agree to. Jennifer says she knows Eli and Lani are moving back soon but it’s hard with them going back to Boston and Jeremy going to New York. Steve questions Jeremy leaving soon. Jennifer talks about Jeremy working so hard to turn his life around, only to get run out of town. Steve argues that no one’s running him out of town and points out that the police even asked him not to leave. Jennifer argues that Jeremy was dragged to the police station without cause. Steve says he’s given them plenty of reason to suspect. Jennifer complains about Jeremy being accused while Jack says they understand there’s nothing more important than keeping their daughter safe. Jennifer understands wanting to protect Stephanie and says it’s awful what she’s been through, but she wants the right person punished for it. Kayla says they agree and are working very closely with the police department to follow due process. Jennifer toasts to hoping it’s over very soon. Jack is glad they were able to get out tonight to enjoy themselves. Jack says they will leave them now to enjoy the rest of their anniversary. Kayla wishes them safe travels and says they will miss them. Jennifer talks about being sorry for what they are going through with Stephanie. Jennifer gets emotional about it being time to leave. They hug goodbye as Jack and Jennifer wish Steve and Kayla a happy anniversary. Jennifer says they love them so much as Jack says to let them know what’s going on. Jack and Jennifer exit as Kayla comments to Steve that was hard. Steve says he didn’t mean to upset Jennifer, but she brought Jeremy up. Kayla thinks she understands where they are coming from. Steve says enough of that as Kayla surprises him with a present and gives him a card which includes Mandarin lessons. Steve jokes that he can ask for directions when they go to China for Tripp and Wendy’s wedding. Steve then reveals his surprise that he already started learning and says “I love you” in Mandarin as they kiss.

Jack and Jennifer walk through the town square where they run in to Jeremy. They wish each other a happy Valentine’s Day. Jack thought Jeremy would be home packing by now. Jeremy says he just had to stop at the ATM before he hits the road. Jennifer is glad they had a chance to see him and says she’s sorry things didn’t work out for him here. Jeremy says he appreciates that. Jennifer encourages that his family believes in him, adding that he was so wonderful with Thomas and they loved having him around. Jack says maybe it will be good for him while Jennifer encourages that Jeremy’s father will be thrilled to have him back and they want the best for him in New York. Jack tells him not to be a stranger and come visit them in Boston. Jeremy says he will and hugs them goodbye as he walks away. Jack calls it an eventful Valentine’s Day and points out they still haven’t even been alone. Jennifer jokes that when they get home, she’s locking the bedroom door. Jack states that Valentine’s Day has been special for them. Jennifer reminds him that it was the day she proposed to him which they flash back to. Jack jokes about planning a better proposal as they walk off together.

Stephanie tells Alex that she hates taking off their rings on their wedding night. Alex says they’ve worked so hard to set the perfect trap, so Jeremy finding out they are already married could blow the whole thing, but if tomorrow goes as they planned then they will be free. Alex says for now they will tell their families and no one else, but they know and that’s all that matters as they continue kissing. Alex says he will store the rings away in the safe and when they come back, they will put them back on and celebrate all over again as they kiss.

Chad tells Julie that he’s not leaving until tomorrow but he needs to thank her for being so good to him and his kids, opening up her home and heart to them. Chad says there’s been a lot of personalities under one roof and it’s been chaotic at times, especially while Julie was grieving, but the place is filled with love and one of the only reasons he was able to get through losing Abigail. Julie responds that he and the children helped her get through losing Doug, so they are even. Julie adds that Chad encouraged her to have grief therapy and she watched him get up every morning and get on with his life, which inspired her. Chad feels he was just repaying her for taking them in and treating them like family. Julie declares that he is always family as they hug. Jack and Jennifer come in and tell them about their trip to the Bistro. Jennifer asks if everyone is all packed up. Chad says just about. Jack tells Chad to have a great trip and enjoy every moment with the kids. Jennifer knows Chad said he wanted this trip to feel like they are a family again, so she’s been praying for them. Chad says that means a lot. Jack knows it’s been a terrible year and he hates that they contributed to that. Chad assures he never stopped thinking they were family as they are bonded forever by their love for the kids and Abigail. Jennifer is glad they worked it all out. Julie acknowledges they had a big bump in the road and then they listened to each other, so going forward they are stronger for it which they all agree with. Julie can’t wait until they are all together again.

Jeremy walks through the town square and sees Alex and Stephanie heading in to the Bistro. Jeremy then flashes back to Alex confronting him at the Pub.

Stephanie and Alex join Steve and Kayla at the Bistro. Steve asks where Jada is. Stephanie explains that she had a date tonight so she made other security arrangements. Steve feels she should’ve let him know. Stephanie thinks she wanted them to talk to them first as Jada had been with them all day and they had something to tell them about. Stephanie reveals that they went to Chicago earlier. Steve argues that he told them that wasn’t safe. Stephanie explains that they were with Jada and it was part of a surprise for Alex which Kayla questions. Stephanie continues that they got the marriage license to make things look legit, so it got her thinking about putting it to use for the real thing. Steve asks what they are saying. Alex then announces that they eloped which shocks Steve and Kayla. Stephanie assures that they will still have a big wedding when they can and that they took lots of pictures. Alex adds that they won’t post the pictures until they catch Jeremy tomorrow. Stephanie worries that they are upset and promises they didn’t mean to exclude them, adding that Steve can still walk her down the aisle someday. After a moment of silence, Steve and Kayla bust out laughing and say they were just kidding which relieves Alex and Stephanie. Steve whispers that if they didn’t have to keep it quiet, he’d give Stephanie a big hug but suggests ordering a bottle of champagne to celebrate quietly.

Jeremy sits in the town square and reads over a letter he wrote to Stephanie, saying he knows she’s engaged to Alex and thinks he’s some obsessive stalker who has been terrorizing both of them, but if she got to know him, she’d feel differently. Jeremy knows she doesn’t believe him but intends to prove it to her.

Steve toasts to many more Valentine’s Day wedding anniversaries for all of them. Alex toasts to ending the stalker nightmare. Stephanie toasts to finally starting their lives together while Kayla toasts to her favorite day of the year suddenly becoming more special.

Julie tells Thomas that she will work on her Mario Kart skills for when he comes back. Julie hugs Thomas and Charlotte, hoping they have a wonderful trip. Jack says they might be gone by the time they get up as they are getting an early start. Jennifer mentions wanting video chats as they hug. Chad decides it’s past their bedtime. Thomas asks Julie to finish reading them Alice in Wonderland since they won’t see her for awhile. Julie agrees to a chapter which Chad allows, so Thomas and Charlotte head upstairs with Julie. Chad confirms to Jack and Jennifer that the car is good to go. Chad informs them that he stopped to visit Abigail’s grave for Valentine’s Day. Jennifer feels like they should be leaving together but they are going in opposite directions. Chad promises they will see each other again soon. Jennifer tells him to take care of himself as they hug. Jack and Jennifer then head upstairs as Chad says he’ll be right up. Chad picks up a photo of he and Abigail on their wedding night and hugs it as he gets emotional. Chad then shuts off the lights and takes one final look back at the living room before he exits.

Susan enters the living room of the DiMera Mansion and questions what EJ is doing all alone on Valentine’s Day. EJ responds that there’s only one valentine for him as he surprises Susan with a gift and they hug.

Belle is working at home when Chad shows up at the door and gives her a Valentine’s Day gift.

Philip and Gabi arrive in Miami. Philip asks what she wants to do first. Gabi is distracted and says whatever he wants. Philip notes that she’s not listening and asks if she’s triggered by the bad experience she said she had in Miami. Gabi responds that it’s not about that, so Philip asks what’s wrong.

At the Pub, Brady admits to Sarah that he almost got her flowers for today, but decided against it because he didn’t want to send the wrong message. Sarah asks what the message is. Brady responds that he absolutely has feelings for her and wishes they were together on Valentine’s Day. Sarah guesses the universe heard him because they are spending it together.

Gwen instructs Xander’s form and wraps her arms around him to help him adjust. Xander calls it more of a lesson than he anticipated and asks what to do next. Gwen further instructs him while Xander jokingly comments on her firm grip. Gwen asks if he wants to learn or not, so Xander tells her to continue. Gwen advises him not to think on his swing and to follow his instincts. Gwen remarks that if he’s really lucky, he might just get a hole in one.

At the police station, Dimitri is surprised to see Leo is still there. Leo says that he said he needed his help and despite him previously wanting to stay away from him, he believes Dimitri is innocent. Leo adds that he still cares about him, so he wants to help and he’s here for him.

Belle tells Chad that it was very sweet of him to bring her chocolates. Chad hoped to also make up for being a jerk by asking her out and not following through. Belle understands they are both very busy but Chad says it’s no excuse. Chad says now he wishes they could have that date, but unfortunately they can’t for awhile because he’s leaving town.

Susan thanks EJ for her gift and calls him the best son. EJ remarks that must mean he’s not evil. Susan clarifies that she never said he was evil, but that she felt his father’s evilness inside him and there’s a big difference. EJ questions if there is. Susan says Stefano was a very bad egg but that doesn’t mean EJ is, reminding him that 50% of his DNA comes from her as well which means there’s some good in him.

Brady agrees with Sarah that they are spending Valentine’s Day together, joking that he doesn’t have a choice since Tate and Holly took over his place. Sarah adds that she has her angelic two year old with her. Brady says Kate and Roman have kind of cultivated a Valentine’s Day ambience at the Pub. Sarah remarks that ambience only goes so far and the rest is up to them.

Gwen and Xander sit together as Gwen comments on him being an amateur at golf. Gwen talks about working as a waitress at a golf club and then she became a caddy which is when she learned. Xander suggests they could find her a country club situation here since he can hear the passion in her voice and she can give golf lessons. Xander remarks that he’d work on all of his swings if she was his instructor as he would be highly motivated.

Gabi tells Philip that nothing is wrong and she’s thrilled to be back in Miami. Philip says he can tell something is up and asks what is upsetting her. Gabi complains that Philip went through all of this trouble to make Valentine’s Day romantic and special while she has ruined everything.

Dimitri questions Leo really wanting to help him. Leo admits it wasn’t an easy decision to make after the grief he went through when he got the letter breaking up with him. Leo says for now, they need to focus on proving his innocence so they need to go somewhere private. Dimitri agrees and says they can’t go to the DiMera Mansion since that’s where Gwen is, so he suggests Leo’s room but Leo says no. Dimitri says he’s open to all suggestions if he can think of a better place to go without prying eyes or ears. Leo guesses there is no place other than his room and at least they will have privacy there and it’s a big room so they don’t have to be on top of each other. Leo points out that they also have a chair and not just the bed, so they agree to go to his room and exit the police station together.

Belle tells Chad that she gets it after what he’s been through lately and guesses some time away will be good for him. Chad says he really misses Sonny and Will and he’s excited to show the kids the Grand Canyon. Belle thinks they will have a wonderful time. Chad then wonders if he can save Belle from eating a sad and disgusting frozen dinner.

Philip tells Gabi that she can tell him whatever’s going on as he’s not going to judge and he just wants to help. Gabi reminds him that they talked about Rafe going to Alamainia to confirm Stefan was really gone and he is. Gabi informs Philip that the FBI tested the remains and they were Stefan’s. Philip says that he’s so sorry. Gabi adds that she also found out that Stefan didn’t leave Salem on his own accord and that Vivian kidnapped him and took him by force to keep him from her.

Susan tells EJ that she is going to her room to have a video chat with Roger. Susan mentions Roger sending her roses and chocolates while she got him a copy of One Stormy Night, noting that Bonnie told her it’s done wonders for her sex life. Susan adds that she also got plane tickets so they can be together again but assures EJ she will be right back. Susan then exits the room and heads upstairs.

Brady agrees with Sarah that it’s totally up to them, so as much he loves the Pub, they can expand their horizons if they want. Sarah suggests she take Victoria to her nanny while they go check out a retro 90s coffee shop. Brady mentions an indie movie theater that just opened which is showing Sleepless in Seattle that they both love. Sarah mentions the Boba place next door but they decide that’s not a good idea since that’s one of Rachel’s favorite places, so Kristen might take her there and then they’d know they are spending Valentine’s Day together.

Gwen talks to Xander about hoping her assets get unfrozen soon. Xander encourages her as an impressive golfer. Gwen says he’s come a long way under her guidance and calls him an excellent student. Gwen asks if Xander would say he released his pent up stress. Xander says a bit but he still feels tension and unease in his body. Gwen says she does too and suggests they release their pent up stress, anger, and frustration out on each other.

Leo brings Dimitri to his room at the Salem Inn. Leo has Dimitri sit in the chair instead of the bed and says he wants to get in to the details. Leo says they have established that Dimitri was set up by Gwen, who had him smuggled back in to Salem for the sole purpose of interrupting his wedding. They talk about Vivian saying Dimitri was there and how someone must have planted his belongings. They conclude that Gwen must have made a deal with the devil. Dimitri states that Vivian hates his family and only Gwen hates them more. Leo remarks that nothing unites people more than a common enemy.

Chad tells Belle that it doesn’t seem like she made any big plans. Belle says she’s just working. Chad argues that it’s a holiday and she could use a break, so he suggests they get out of here and ends up convincing her to take a break.

Philip says that Vivian would do anything appalling, horrifying, and despicable including kidnapping her own son. Gabi adds that one of Vivian’s former maids told Rafe that Stefan was desperate to escape, was trying every way to get back to her, and that he still loved her. Philip repeats that he’s so sorry. Gabi always thought Stefan’s heart condition could take him one day, but now she wonders if he died from a broken heart.

Brady tells Sarah that it’s not that he’s afraid of running in to Kristen and Rachel, but he doesn’t like going behind Rachel’s back as she’s just not ready for him to be dating anyone yet. Sarah assures that she understands. Brady feels if Kristen had her way, she’d make sure Rachel was never ready for him to move on and that’s not okay. Sarah asks what he intends to do about it.

Xander guesses Gwen is no longer talking about golf to release their tension. Gwen remembers the last time they talked about releasing tension on each other, she lost out to his now estranged wife because he was so maddeningly loyal to her that he felt guilty to be with someone like her. Gwen asks how long Xander will be held accountable to Sarah.

Dimitri tells Leo that it makes perfect sense that Vivian was Peter’s accomplice since she hates the Von Leuschners and the DiMeras. Dimitri says he just needs to find the proof which he has no doubt lies in Alamainia so he has to go there. Leo reminds him that he surrendered his passport and is wearing an ankle monitor so he couldn’t even leave the county. Dimitri complains that he has to do something because his life depends on it. Leo says this isn’t just about him, reminding him that he’s an investigative journalist and this is the story of a lifetime. Leo declares that if Dimitri is going to Alamainia, he’s going with him.

EJ is on the phone, arguing that delivering a message to Vivian shouldn’t be like climbing Mount Everest and asks if he has to come to Alamainia himself.

Philip points out that Gabi doesn’t know if she’s really divorced or not. Gabi says Vivian would never admit it but Rafe thinks the divorce papers were forged, so he has forensics analyzing some samples of Stefan’s handwriting that she found. Gabi adds that it’s not like they are still married since he’s dead. Philip says he meant that if she was never divorced, she’s not Stefan’s ex-wife, but his widow. Gabi supposes that is true and now she’s left wondering if he still loved her when he died.

Chad and Belle go to the town square. Chad asks where they should go. EJ then approaches and greets them, saying he’s sorry to interrupt but Tony mentioned that Chad was considering leaving town. Chad confirms that he is leaving tomorrow. EJ questions if he wasn’t going to tell him. Chad says they’ll be back before he knows it. EJ suggests having a drink with his big brother. Chad says he would love to but he’s having dinner with Belle. EJ asks what the occasion is. Belle reveals it’s Valentine’s Day and they are on a date, surprising EJ.

Brady tells Sarah that he’s not going to let Kristen use their daughter as a chess piece anymore. Brady says they have to establish a new normal for all of them. Sarah thinks that’s a great idea and asks what he’s thinking. Brady admits he’s not just worried about Rachel, but about them. Brady tells Sarah that her friendship is very important to him, so he would hate to risk it in case something romantic with them didn’t work out. Sarah takes that as he’s scared. Brady admits he is a little. Sarah says she is too, but she doesn’t regret the things that she tried and failed at, only the things she didn’t try that might have been great. Sarah asks what if they are missing out on something truly great.

Xander admits to Gwen that he has been rethinking his position and tells her that earlier today, he had a rather difficult run in with Sarah that made him realize he’s been holding out for something that’s never going to happen. Xander states that Sarah is the mother of his child and he will never love anyone like he loved her, but he’s not cut out for the celibate life and has needs. Xander offers to take Gwen home since her car isn’t safe to drive after he busted her windshield, which he promises to take care of tomorrow, so they walk off together.

Dimitri comments on Leo being quiet and asks if he said something wrong. Leo says being in his room with him on Valentine’s Day makes him feel like he’s betraying Javi, like he can sense they’re doing something. Dimitri argues that they are just talking. Leo says they are talking about sneaking off to a quaint little European country and last time they did that, he had to make up a story about a fake Madonna concert. Dimitri tells Leo that he doesn’t have to do anything he doesn’t want to do. Leo responds that he does want to help. Leo asks to see his ankle monitor and then googles how to take it off without notifying the FBI. Leo tells Dimitri that this is going to take some time, so he should go home and not say a word to anyone about their suspicions or anything else. Dimitri tells Leo that he really appreciates him helping. Leo responds that he’s been given a lot of second chances in his life, so he’s trying to pay it forward. Dimitri then hugs Leo and exits the room.

EJ questions Chad and Belle matching on a dating app. Leo then arrives and apologizes for interrupting, but says he got Chad’s message that he’s leaving town. Chad asks for a moment with Leo so they step aside. Chad informs Leo that he and the kids are going to Arizona for a few weeks so he will need him to hold things down. Leo says he may need to work remotely since he’s working on a huge story. Chad says as long as he gets it done and tells him to reach out if he needs anything. Belle tells EJ that Marlena said Stefano’s service was a fitting tribute. EJ says that everyone had ample opportunity to express their contempt for him. Belle says she knows how much EJ loved his father, so she’s sorry for his loss. EJ thanks her and says he’ll let her get back to her date, so he walks out of the town square.

Xander brings Gwen home to the DiMera Mansion where they have a drink. Gwen calls him even more handsome than before. Gwen jokes about Scotsmen aging like fine wine. Xander responds that she’s more beautiful than ever herself. Xander and Gwen start to kiss until Susan walks in, questioning what Xander is doing there and why Gwen is with him.

Brady tells Sarah that she has a point that it’s better to have tried and failed. Sarah suggests they make a pact to always be friends no matter what and see what happens. They agree to keep it on the DL. Brady says if it does get serious, he will sit Rachel down and tell her what’s going on. They shake hands and agree to the deal.

Gabi says she’s a hot mess while Philip calls her stunningly beautiful. Philip says he knows they had all these activities planned but they can do whatever she wants. Gabi responds that what she really wants is for him to hold her, so they hug. Gabi thanks him for being so kind and supportive as she’s not used to that. Philip says he will make sure she gets used to that. Gabi likes that and then remembers they had dinner reservations so she wants to get ready. Philip says he’ll cancel them and they can order room service but Gabi says no way. Gabi says it’s Valentine’s Day so they will go have dinner and then can lie on the beach. Philip asks if she’s sure that’s what she wants. Gabi says the last few days have been living in a tragic past, so tonight she wants to live in the present with him as they kiss.

Chad and Belle sit together in the town square. Chad says he’s sorry for the interruption. Belle says he’s a very busy man on his farewell tour. Chad calls it more like a see you later tour and assures that when he gets back, he’s going to take Belle on that first official date which Belle says she will look forward to.

Gwen returns to the living room and tells Xander that Susan is in her room now, but she said she’s going to tell EJ to evict her for having the likes of Xander in the house. Xander understands why she wouldn’t welcome him with open arms since he is the one who locked her in the garden shed and he still feels bad about that. Gwen says they all make mistakes and suggests they make another one as they kiss. Gwen then takes Xander upstairs right as EJ comes home and sees them.

Brady and Sarah exit the Pub with Victoria. They wish each other a happy Valentine’s Day as they kiss and hug. Brady says until next time as Sarah walks off with Victoria.

Leo tries calling Javi and leaves a voicemail, telling him that today was all about hearts everywhere he looked and all he could think about was him, so he wanted him to know that he still has his. Leo then gets a text back from Javi, saying until he makes up his mind, he doesn’t want to hear from him because it’s just too hard.

Xander and Gwen continue kissing in Gwen’s bedroom as they move onto the bed.

EJ goes in to the living room and pours a drink, calling it quite the night. Dimitri then enters. EJ asks what the hell he’s doing here. Dimitri drinks EJ’s drink and points to the portrait of Stefano as he declares that he’s rising from the ashes.

Xander runs in to Marlena in the town square and wishes her a happy Valentine’s Day. Marlena asks how he’s doing. Xander says he’s trying to treat it like just another day. Marlena responds that she is as well.

Julie finds Gwen having a drink at the Bistro and assumes her cocktail is on the house. Gwen assumes that’s a dig at her card being declined at the book store and assures that it’s all been sorted out. Julie suggests she hang onto her cash flow as she never knows when she’ll end up back where she started. Gwen remarks that she should start a podcast on unsolicited advice from an expert in nothing. Julie responds that Gwen could do the same on how to be lacking in kindness and everything else that matters. Julie tells Gwen to enjoy her last drink and walks away.

At Bayview, Sophia takes a pill from her meds and puts it away in her drawer as she flashes back to swapping all her pills in Holly’s skin care supplement pills. Dr. Gregory then walks in and asks what she is doing.

Holly joins Arianna in their dorm room and gets what she thinks are her skin care supplements. Arianna asks if they really work. Holly insists they do and worries about breaking out if she doesn’t take them. Arianna encourages that her skin looks great. Holly says she wants to keep it that way as she has to bring her A game to their sorority rush week. Holly then takes one of the pills, not knowing they are Sophia’s meds.

Tate helps Brady move in to his new place. Tate comments on being so happy that Rachel is home and he thought Brady would be thrilled. Brady responds that he just hopes Kristen didn’t take Rachel out before she was ready. Tate is shocked to learn it was Kristen’s call as he thought Rachel’s doctors discharged her. Brady tells Tate that because Kristen has full custody, she took every advantage to make sure that he did not get to weigh in on the decision.

Xander asks if Marlena is heading somewhere for Valentine’s Day. Marlena confirms she’s meeting Julie at the Bistro for Galentine’s and asks about his plans. Xander says he’s taking her advice to find healthier ways to decompress by going to the driving range with golf balls. Marlena recalls John being a golfer. Sarah and Maggie then walk through the town square with Victoria as Sarah stops when she sees Xander. Xander comments to Marlena that he supposes it’s too much to ask for Sarah to say hi and allow him to visit with his daughter. Sarah tells Maggie that she wants to go but Maggie points out that Xander is standing right over there. Sarah responds that she can see him, so Maggie asks if Victoria can too. Marlena tells Xander that he could go over and see his daughter since his custody agreement prohibits visitation but not contact. Xander decides she’s right. Sarah then comes forward and tells Xander that Victoria wanted to say hi.

Arianna asks Holly how things with Sophia went. Holly admits that she was shocked to get the call from Dr. Gregory. Arianna was surprised that she went. Holly felt she had no choice and that it would’ve been mean of her if she didn’t. Holly tells Arianna that she and Sophia sort of made peace, so she hopes she never has to deal with her again.

Sophia shows Dr. Gregory a book from her drawer to claim she is reading. Dr. Gregory apologizes for being suspicious and says she’s pleased that she apologized to Holly, but she still has work to do to regain her trust, especially since she knows that she slipped a note to Rachel after she was told not to contact her. Rachel writes a note asking where Rachel is. Dr. Gregory reveals to her that Rachel is no longer at Bayview because her mother took her home.

Tate calls it so wrong and unfair for Kristen to pull Rachel out of Bayview without Brady’s approval. Brady says he’s furious about it but he doesn’t want Rachel involved in a tug of war between her parents, so he and Kristen have agreed to play nice. Tate questions what that means. Brady informs him that Kristen has agreed to joint custody but the catch is that he had to allow Kristen to move in with them. Tate can’t believe he’s letting Kristen move in. Brady says it’s for one month until they get everything settled in court. Tate asks what that means. Brady says Kristen didn’t consider the legal ramifications from taking Rachel out of Bayview so early. Tate doesn’t understand what that means. Brady explains that there will be a hearing and Belle’s argument is to keep Rachel out of juvie. Tate gets that Rachel not being in Bayview makes Belle’s case tougher while Brady says he and Kristen have to convince the judge that they are taking Rachel’s mental health seriously. Tate hopes there’s zero chance this could lead to Brady and Kristen getting back together. Brady promises that’s not going to happen. Brady says he made sure Justin put it in writing and guarantees that Kristen won’t be living there when Tate begins summer break. Brady says he’s not happy about it either, but reminds Tate that he’s giving him the place for his date tonight which Tate says he really appreciates and thanks him. Brady asks if Tate is making Valentine’s Day dinner. Tate confirms that he is and asks what Brady is going to do. Brady responds that he has some plans.

Marlena greets Sarah and Victoria, then says she has to get to her plans with Maggie and Julie. Sarah tells her to enjoy. Xander wishes Marlena a happy Valentine’s Day. Marlena says the same to them and walks off. Xander happily greets Victoria and gives her a teddy bear. Xander goes to give her a box of chocolates as well but Sarah informs him that chocolates have been upsetting Victoria’s stomach lately. Xander tells Sarah that she can keep the chocolates then. Sarah mentions them also being her favorites which Xander says he remembered. Xander brings up a past time when they enjoyed a chocolate cake as well. Sarah says she has to go, so Xander wishes them a happy Valentine’s Day as Sarah hurries off with Victoria.

Dr. Gregory tells Sophia that she’s glad her mother came by to bring her a valentine as her family obviously loves and misses her very much. She knows Sophia is looking forward to going home and says that reconciling with Holly was a big step in that direction. She encourages Sophia to write more and offers to get her a board and a marker and being more active in therapy to help her find her voice and reclaim her life. Sophia gives her a thumbs up. Dr. Gregory then exits. Sophia then remarks to herself that the meds will help, just not in the way she thinks.

Holly worries that she needs to look perfect for rushing a sorority and starts to panic about not getting in. Arianna encourages her and asks why she’s freaking out. Holly responds that she feels a little anxious and edgy. Holly questions her not being nervous. Arianna admits she doesn’t care as much about getting in as Holly does and she wouldn’t be rushing if Holly didn’t ask her to. Arianna promises it’s going to be okay, so they exit together.

Julie, Maggie, and Marlena sit together at the Bistro. Julie talks about last year being just her and Maggie as widows while now Marlena is there and says she’s so sorry.

Sarah takes Victoria in to the Brady Pub where she runs in to Brady. Brady tells her that he’s eating alone on Valentine’s Day so Tate could have the house for a hot date with Holly, joking that his son is kicking his butt in the romance department. Sarah mentions that she was just going to have dinner with Victoria but she fell asleep. Brady then invites Sarah to join him which she accepts.

Xander goes to the driving range and hits a golf ball too far that it breaks some glass.

Sophia searches effects of anti-psychotic drugs on someone who doesn’t need them and happily calls it a disaster waiting to happen.

Holly and Arianna go to the town square to meet the sorority girls. The group leader Maisy comments on Holly being one of the lucky ones to have a boyfriend to spend Valentine’s Day with and how hot he is which makes Holly uncomfortable. Holly then gets angry and starts asking her if she thinks she’s better than her. Maisy says she was just joking while Holly angrily suggests she back off, calls her a bitch, and tells her to stay the hell away from her boyfriend. Holly stops and apologizes, saying she doesn’t know what she just said and runs off. Arianna wants to go after her but Maisy asks about her dress and says she’s never seen it at Gabi Chic. Arianna explains that it’s not out yet and she got it early because her mom owns the company. Maisy is excited to learn that Arianna’s mom is Gabi Hernandez and says she worships her. Maisy says she knows Gabi’s whole life story and now she wants to know Arianna’s, so she tells her to stay.

Julie talks about when she was single years ago, she didn’t care about Valentine’s Day. Maggie says she loved it even before she met Mickey. Julie recalls that they were married on Valentine’s Day. Maggie says she loved it even more then and adds that Victor went out of his way to make it special for her. Julie says Maggie brought out the best in Victor. Maggie talks about Doug always being romantic. Julie tells Marlena that she’s sure John was too. Marlena talks about strawberries and whipped cream being their tradition and John had it delivered around Christmas time as his final mission and at the time, she thought he would be home by Valentine’s Day.

Gwen joins Xander at the driving range and complains that some idiot just drove a golf ball right in to her car and broke her windshield.

Sarah tells Brady that she ran in to Xander in the town square and almost started bawling. Brady asks what he did this time. Sarah says nothing bad and he was actually well behaved with gifts for Victoria for Valentine’s Day. Sarah says she just got hit with a wave of emotion, so it was good to see a friendly face when she came in here. Brady apologizes for overreacting when Sarah told him to get his own place. Sarah says she only thought it would be best for his daughter. Brady says he’s glad he stepped up his apartment search because Rachel is out of Bayview. Sarah excitedly says that is so awesome but Brady says not exactly.

Tate is cooking Valentine’s Day dinner when Holly arrives at the door. Tate greets her with a kiss and asks how the sorority mixer was. Holly cries that it was a total nightmare as he hugs her.

Marlena says in addition to it being her first Valentine’s Day without John, Brady and the kids are moving in to their own place so she was thinking it would be empty. Julie relates to all the birds flying her nest too. Maggie asks if Jack and Jennifer have left. Julie says not yet but they are going back to Boston soon while Jeremy has decided to leave Salem and Chad is taking his kids on a road trip to Arizona to visit Sonny and Will, hoping the time together will heal the wounds from the custody fight. Maggie guesses they will all be facing goodbyes. Maggie says she will miss Brady at the house and knows Sarah will too. Marlena comments that it sounds like Brady and Sarah are getting together. Julie asks if there’s any chance. Maggie states that Sarah just went through a divorce, so she thinks it’s too soon but sometime down the road, she would be delighted if they wound up together.

Brady tells Sarah about Kristen moving in. Sarah responds that she is stunned and laughs that she’s so sorry. Brady admits he’s not happy about it but he’s not going to get angry about it as he’s going to prioritize Rachel getting the help she needs. Sarah asks how he will deal with Kristen living in his home. Brady assures that he will set firm boundaries. Sarah laughs off Kristen following boundaries. Brady says Kristen didn’t give him a choice about taking Rachel out of Bayview, so she has to follow his rules. Brady says his rule is that Kristen only stays for a month and adds that the one good thing about Kristen and Rachel living under his roof is that he can keep an eye on both of them.

Xander apologizes to Gwen and says he’ll pay for her windshield. Gwen complains that she came to the range by herself only to find him here. Xander says they can each do their own thing and not be bothered. Gwen comments on Xander’s poor form and says she will show him how it’s done.

Maisy urges Arianna to stay and tell her about Gabi Chic. Arianna says okay but first she needs to tell her about Holly. Maisy calls Holly a psycho. Arianna says that Holly was feeling weird and edgy, but swears she’s not mean. Arianna calls Holly sweet, kind, and funny with a great sense of fashion. Maisy argues that she sounds like her PR rep doing damage control. Arianna says she is her friend and needs her to know who Holly is, insisting she can bring good in to their life.

Holly cries to Tate that her life is over. Tate asks what’s going on. Holly says she made a complete fool of herself and explains that she went to introduce herself to the sorority president, but before she knew it, she was calling her a bitch and couldn’t stop the words from coming out of her mouth, then she just ran off. Holly cries that there’s no way she’s getting in to the sorority now. Tate encourages her and tries to say he’d be happy to have her here but Holly complains that it’s selfish of him and that he clearly doesn’t know how important this is to her as she grabs her things, leaving Tate confused.

Maisy is impressed by what Arianna said about Holly and says she’s clearly a good friend. Arianna insists that Holly is too but Maisy states that Holly is not the right fit for Gamma Gamma Kappa. Maisy adds that Arianna is though for sure.

Tate stops Holly from leaving and says he’s so sorry as he did not mean to be insensitive and was just trying to make her feel better. Holly cries that she’s flipping out again and acting insane just like she did at the mixer and she doesn’t know what’s wrong with her. Tate is sure she’s just overwhelmed with a lot going on. Holly agrees that she’s just been really stressed lately and she thought she was managing her feelings but it feels so out of control. Tate tells her to come in and let him take care of her, so she does and they kiss. Holly tells Tate that she loves him as they hug.

Sophia watches a video on her phone of Holly going off on Maisy at the sorority mixer and busts out laughing.

Julie says that she, Maggie, and Marlena are three ladies who have known romance. Julie thinks the symbols of Valentine’s Day now have real meaning. Julie says the red rose is for passion, chocolates are for the sweetness of life, and hearts are for love. Julie cries that she’s so blessed to have them in her life and that they can all lean on each other. Maggie says amen to that while Marlena is grateful to have been invited as they toast to a happy Galentine’s Day and the best of friends.

Gwen impresses Xander, who says he never would’ve guessed she was a golfer. Xander admits she’s put him to shame here, so he’s done, but Gwen says no chance and that she’ll give him some pointers. Gwen instructs Xander’s form and wraps her arms around him to help him adjust.

Brady admits to Sarah that he almost got her flowers for today, but decided against it because he didn’t want to send the wrong message. Sarah asks what the message is. Brady responds that he absolutely has feelings for her and wishes they were together on Valentine’s Day.
