Nick is unable to persuade Noah to take things slowly with Sienna and not move to Los Angeles with her.

Audra tells Holden that, when she was in school, she was bullied by girls for having an accent and wearing hand me down clothes. Audra tells Holden she worked hard to assimilate to the point of stealing clothes so that nobody would make fun of her again. Audra tells Holden that when she started making money she went back to the stores from which she stole cand bought clothes and donated the clothes to charities that help women. Holden tells Audra to talk to Claire because they have a lot in common . Audra tells Holden that she doesn’t want to talk to Claire but she will keep the peace as long as Holden doesn’t give Claire any more details about what happened in Los Angeles. Audra warns Holden that if Claire comes after her the gloves are off.

Claire talks with Sienna who tells her that Holden worked as a bartender at the Shadow Room when Audra came in with an art dealer who got drunk and started touching Audra and Holden defended Audra against the art dealer. Sienna tells Claire that the art dealer disappeared suddenly and nobody knows what happened to him. Claire asks Sienna the name of the man because she wants to find out what happened to him.

Sharon and Tessa have a long talk and they decide that Mariah has changed but no matter how much she was in emotional pain she would never kidnap Dominic. Sharon and Tessa think that because of the trauma Mariah suffered with Ian Ward he somehow got in her head and thar is why she kidnapped Dominic. Sharon and Tessa decide to try and figure out where Mariah and Dominic are and bring them both home so that Mariah can get the help she needs.

At Crimson Lights, Nick and Sharon discuss Cane and Phyllis’s takeover of his family business. Nick is distraught and angry about Phyllis’s involvement and the ramifications.

Sienna and Noah are enjoying some fun and romance at the Overlook Cafe. Their talk turns to her plan to move back to LA and his desire to go there with her. She tries to convince him to stay in Genoa City and be near his family again. Noah counters that since he now owns the Shadow Room, they can run it together in LA, but Sienna is leery because of its past association with Matt.

Nate goes to the Chancellor mansion to support Devon during the ordeal with Mariah kidnapping Dominic.

Devon reaches out to Sharon for help while she is at Crimson Lights with Nick, who goes with her to meet with Devon at her place. Just before Devon arrives, Sharon and Nick chat with Sienna and Noah in her living room.  He informs them that he hired the Newman jet to take him and Sienna to LA, where they will be living and running the Shadow Room together.

Devon shows Sharon and Nick footage of Mariah at the motel in Genoa City and tells them that she kidnapped Dominic. Sharon and Nick are shocked and offer to help find the child.

While Devon is at Sharon’s, Abby is at home. She calls her dad and asks him to come over because she needs his help. Then she clings to  a stuffed animal that Chance gave to Dominic. She prays to Chance to watch over and protect Dominic, and to put his detective skills together to bring Dominic home.

Hallucination Ian is in the front passenger seat of the car Mariah is driving away from Genoa City with Dominic asleep in the back seat. Ian gives her a pep talk about how she will be a good mother to Dominic and says he will never abandon her and will always help her. Dominic wakes up and calls out “Papa”, Hallucination Ian disappears. When Mariah asks Dominic if he had a nightmare, he tells her that he had a sad dream about his papa in heaven, and he misses him. When he mentions how his “mommy” would sing to him, Mariah tells him that she’s also kind of like his mommy, that she sang to him while he was in her tummy and that she nicknamed him Bowie. He asks her to sing; she flashes back to singing Tessa’s song to him while she was pregnant with him. She  starts humming “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” and tells him that sometimes she almost feels like he’s her son, too. Dominic looks out the side car window and smiles.

Leo tried calling Javi, but Javi didn’t answer the phone. He found himself thinking of Dimitri. Dimitri put something together for Stefano’s memorial. He and Gwen ended up arguing. Gwen asked him if he was Peter’s accomplish. Dimitri said it wasn’t him. They realized Vivian was the only one they knew in Alamain was Vivian. Dimitri said Vivian hated the Von Leuschners and him. Leo showed up at the mansion. He said he was determined to get Dimitri out of his system. Gwen showed up and enjoyed the argument. Dimitri said they were both Gwen’s victims. He said he never stopped loving him. Leo stopped him from talking so he could tell him what was wrong with Dimitiri. Sarah ran into Brady and Belle. She told Brady that Kristen wanted her to stay away from him and Rachel. Sarah said everyone was concerned about them. When she included Xander, Brady wondered why it was Xander’s apartment. Kristen wanted to talk to talk to Rachel before she spoke to the judge. Rachel said she liked Dr. Gregory. Kristen told her what to expect from the judge, her lawyer, Belle, her parents, etc. Kristen said once she and Rachel gave their testimony, the judge would drop the charges. Belle said she couldn’t promise what the judge would drop the case. Rachel thought she would go to prison. Belle said that wouldn’t happen. She was certain things would work out. Kristen sent Rachel out of the room so she could yell at Belle. When Rachel came back, Belle left. Xander went to see Marlena She told him that she couldn’t see him anymore. Marlena said she wasn’t getting rid of him. She said she was going back to the hospital. Marlena warned him that she would drop him if he hurt anyone in her family. Xander apologized for hurting Brady. Marlena asked what made him snap. Xander said the divorce got to him. Marlena said he was upset over Brady and Sarah being together. Xander thought they were together to stick it to him. Marlena advised him to focus on Victoria and to stay out of Brady and Sarah’s business. Xander said he would  do the wok. Dimitri let Leo know that he had bad qualities. Leo said he brought out the bad qualities in him. He said Javi made him better. After they talked, Leo left. Dimitri blamed Gwen for what happened and said he would make her pay. Gwen said she had a plan. When Dimitri left, Gwen calked Vivian.

Hayley explained to Kevin that she increased the dosage of the drug she put in Bill’s tea to move things faster. She was ready to start shopping for his casket. Randy explained that rushing things along would make doctors suspicious of what happen. Bill arrived at Madison’s hospital. She wanted to let him know that she was leaving the hospital to take a sabbatical. Bill was shocked to find out that she was doing research in Copenhange. He wondered if he anything to do with Chelsea. Madison insisted that it was all business. She was testing his blood while they were talking. He called Chelsea to tell her the news about Madison. Later Chelsea arrived at the hospital to try to stop Madison from lying.

Madison got Bill’s test results back. She noticed odd things about his results. Bill wondered what that meant. Madison advised him not to panic. Bill wanted his new doctor to run the tests again. Later Bill returned to his office. Hayley tried to seduce Bill, but he rejected her. He told her about his appointment and told her that he had to get more testing done. Vernon surprised Anita with a romantic dinner at the country club. They couldn’t talk about cancer while they were enjoying their time at the country club. Vernon left to make arrangements for their desserts. While she was sitting at the table, Anita realized shew as losing her hair because of chemo. She didn’t want to tell Vernon about her hair falling out because she didn’t want to break the rule of bringing up cancer. Anita decided to tell him that she wanted to go home early. Kat and Izaiah were enjoying their conversation when Eva interrupted them by appearing at their table. Kat and Eva got into an argument. Izaiah became annoyed by their bickering. Eva was upset that he didn’t take what Kat was doing to her seriously. He asked her if she was jealous of Kat. Eva didn’t like what he had to say and walked away from him.

Chad, Melinda, Jennifer, and Justin finished signing the custody agreement. Melinda pulled Chad to the side to tell him it was a bad idea. Chad let her know that he was doing it. When they finished everything, Jennifer said they could repair their relationship. While they were talking, Jennifer and Chad talked about not knowing where Abby’s remains were, but thought it was good that Stefano’s bones were found. Chad felt that knowing that Stefano’s bones were found was liberating. Johnny went to the Kiriakis mansion to talk to Bonnie about her book. When Johnny said he wanted to read it, Bonnie was excited. She thought she would make a lot of money. Justin came home and found out Bonnie’s good news. After Johnny left, they realized that DiMera was the better option for publishing. Chanel went to see Sophia to thank her for giving her baby up. She wanted to show Sophia the pictures. Sophia noticed Chanel holding her stomach as if she were pregnant. She disconnected from Chanel. Chanel apologized to her for all the trouble they caused during the adoption. She told Sophia that she wanted her to be a part of the baby’s life. After Chanel finished talking, she left. When Chanel was home, she told Johnny about her visit with Sophia. Johnny didn’t think too kindly of Sophia. Chanel said that despite everything, Sophia was still Trey’s mother and would be out soon. Sophia sent a text to Melinda telling her to come to Bayview. She told Melinda that she was faking being mute. Sophia said she wanted everyone to underestimate her because she had plans. While Sophia was talking, she told Melinda that Chanel was pregnant and that she and Johnny was going to have their own child. She told Melinda that they didn’t deserve to have a kid. Sophia wanted Chanel’s baby to be taken away and given to someone else. Melinda asked if she wanted it done legally, but Sophia didn’t care if it was done legally or not. She tried to reason with Sophia, but she didn’t want to listen. She said she wanted a better life. Melinda said she didn’t want anything to do with the plan. Before Melinda left, she thanked Sophia for keeping her name out of the adoption.

Chelsea was excited that Bill helped her company. He made it possible for Chelsea and Kat to meet Lauren Fenmore. Bill and Chelsea were talking when Hayley arrived. She arrived just as Bill said he used to be married to one of the most beautiful supermodels in the world. Hayley chose not to overreact to what he said. Chelsea left them alone. Hayley tried to seduce Bill, but he wasn’t ready at the time. She became enraged and pulled out her eyedropper and poisoned his drink. Later Bill headed to the club and ran into Vernon. He thought about happier times he had with Vernon. Bill started noticing the effects from the drug Hayley gave him. Vernon remembered being there just before he dumped Dani. He felt like Bill was a disappointment and a liar. Bill admitted to him that he made a mistake by leaving Dani. After Vernon left, Bill received a text from Madison. She wanted to meet with him at the office. Eva noticed that her mother was happy. She wondered what she was up to. Leslie felt like being happy, but Eva wasn’t buying it. She also didn’t like the idea of her using Marcel to get Ted. Leslie was positive that Shanice would be out of the picture soon.

Kat wanted Chelsea to take her side when she talked to her about her mother’s behavior. Chelsea didn’t agree with her. While they were talking, Dani and Izaiah showed up at Uptown. The girls were shocked to see them together. Dani informed them that she wanted him to join her modeling agency. He turned down her offer. Later Kat sat at his table and told him that he should reconsider Dani’s offer. Eva walked into Uptown and saw them together. Dani met with Vernon at the club. They talked about what was going on with the family. Hayley ran into Lynette at the coffee shop. They were talking when Dani walked in the shop. Dani warned Lynette that Hayley would steal something she loved sooner or later.

Here is what I liked and disliked about Y&R for the week of 1/26/2026 (just my humble opinions, no particular order, just random musings)

Rants: 👎

Harrison’s fake emergency matchmaking trick for getting Claire and Kyle to spend time together with him and remind them how compatible they are was cute, but a waste of air time. Seemed like it was just filler to remind viewers that Kyle has a child and to keep Claire in Kyle’s orbit. I don’t particularly like the actor who plays Harrison. I know he’s just a little kid, but I’ve seen many talented child actors on soaps, and this boy is not one of them. He came across as reading his lines, or like he managed to memorize and recite them, and couldn’t effectively infect any emotion into what he was saying. JMVHO.

Sally continues to annoy the heck out of me. She’s such a bi*ch. She’s always putting Billy on the defensive, lecturing him and generally condescending to him. I like the friendship between Sally and Audra, but I’m beginning to feel sorry for Audra having to listen to broken record Sally complaining and whining about Billy.

Not liking the storyline with Mariah kidnapping Dominic from Abby and Devon, which started this week with her skulking around outside the Chancellor mansion, then returning to the motel and talking with her hallucination of Ian Ward, trying to resist his attempts to persuade her to kidnap Dominic. As of Friday 1/30/2026, she had caved to Ian, went through with kidnapping Dominick, and is driving away with him in the back seat of the car. Also, they need to lay off the bronze spray tan on Abby’s pretty face. She looks plastic.

Raves: 👍

On the flip side, because Dominic is so adorable (this is a child actor who can act), he makes Mariah tolerable.

It was fun to see Victor sitting calmly in his chair behind his desk in his office at Newman Enterprises, listening to Cane and Phyllis going off on him, then remaining still with his hands folded, watching the heated exchange between Phyllis and Victoria before declaring “enough” and throwing Cane and Phyllis out.

Interesting dynamic with Adam, Chelsea and Nikki in alignment after Chelsea spoke up and told Nikki about Victor enlisting Adam to trick Cane into thinking that Lily and his kids are in danger (as a way to lure Cane back to the bargaining table for Victor to regain Newman Enterprises).

Abby, who is a Newman, but not involved in the family business, expressing concern to her husband/Devon about it being in such peril, was a refreshing acknowledgement of the character’s paternal family roots.
