Holly went to see Tate who apologized for not answering her text last night. He said he didn’t see it until the morning. She said she thought he might have been busy. He said he was with Sophia last night. Holly interrupted him to say that she didn’t want him to explain since she knew Sophia was trying to be with him and they broke up. She said she knew she messed up and hoped he would take her back. While she was talking, she said she regretted what she did and was sorry. He said he appreciated what she said and asked about Paris. She said she found out Brady was innocent and was glad he was out of prison and believed she transferred her anger at Eric to his father. While she was talking, she apologized again and asked if it was too late to work things out. When Tate tried to tell Holly about what happened with Sophia, she interrupted him. Holly said he and Sophia were friends and Sophia hated her. She wanted him to think about forgiving her and giving their relationship another chance. He said he was glad that she was home and would think about what she said. She thanked him and left for school. Sophia ran into Ava at the town square and wondered if she could change shifts so she could hang out with Tate. Ava was able to tell that she was in a good mood. Sophia told her she slept with Tate. Ava thought things were moving too fast. Sophia said she wanted it for a long time. Ava asked if they used protection to which Sophia said they did. Ava asked if Sophia had any regrets. Sophia said she didn’t have any regrets. Ava was happy for her that things went well, but wondered about Holly. Sophia asked why she was asking her so many questions when she was the one who told her to go for it. Ava said she wanted things to go well for her, but she should protect herself too. They continued talking about Tate and Holly.

Kate went to see Philip at the Salem Inn but saw Vivian. She wondered why Vivian was in her son’s room. Vivian corrected her and said he was her son. They got into an argument. Kate asked where Philip was to which Vivian said he wasn’t there. When Kate warned her to stay away from her son, Vivian said she couldn’t do that. Kate asked what she was up to. Vivian told her she was helping Philip get back Titan. Kate told her that whatever she was doing was over and was going to call the police. Vivian stopped her from calling the policed and offered to give her part of the money. She said Kate could use it to help with the soap opera. Kate wondered what Vivian brought to the table since Philip had his place. Vivian said she provided a letter saying Victor wanted to leave everything to Philip not Xander. Kate said the only way she could have gotten that letter was to forge it. Vivian called her smart and warned her that she would implicate Philip if she implicated her. She told Kate to come back to the dark side. When Vivian extended her hand to Kate, she shook it. When Philip walked into the Kiriakis mansion, Xander was talking to Victor’s painting about killing him if Kate couldn’t talk any sense into him. Philip said Victor wouldn’t like what he was saying. He opened up the safe behind the painting and pulled out a gun. After he handed Xander the gun, Philip told him to kill him. Xander told him not to play games. Philip said he knew he was all talk and no action. Xander took the gun and pointed it towards Philip and said he wasn’t afraid to use it. He said he wasn’t above doing whatever he had to do to protect his family. While he was talking, Xander said Philip was making a mistake trying to stop the transfer of Titan to Kristen. Philip said he didn’t have any proof that the serum would work. Xander said Rolf made miracles before and his concern was Sarah’s health. Philip said he didn’t deserve the fortune because he was a loser and if he wanted to lose his family, he should pull the trigger. When Xander pulled the trigger, it was empty. Philip said Maggie hated having a loaded gun in the house and took a chance on the gun being empty. Xander said if Kate couldn’t change his mind, he would be dead. Philip said Kate didn’t know he was in town to which Xander said wasn’t true because he talked to her. Philip was upset and left the mansion. When Philip went to the Salem Inn, he warned Vivian that she had to get out of town before his mother found her. Vivian said she already found her and knew about the forged letter, but not that Philip knew what was going on.

Philip wanted to make sure that Kate was in the dark about the plan. Vivian assured him that she didn’t know anything about it. Kate wouldn’t be a problem for them. He wasn’t sure if he believed that. Vivian told him that they talked, and Kate caved. She offered money and power. Vivian changed the subject and talked about Philip. He promised that he would handle Xander. HIs concern was about his mother. She assured him that Kate was in their corner, and they agreed that he was the true heir to Victor’s company. Kate thought about Vivian promising to cut her in with Titan money going to Body & Soul. Kate went to the station to report a crime to Jada. The most notorious criminals was back in Salem. She began talking to Jada about Vivian. After her conversation with Jada, she called Philip to talk to her. Rafe arrived home from physical therapy and saw Gabi reading the divorce papers. He noticed that she didn’t sign the papers. She made an excuse about not having a pen to sign the papers. Rafe thought she wasn’t ready to get divorced and advised her to talk to Stefan. Javi appeared in the kitchen while the siblings were talking. Rafe and Javi were happy to see each other. He wondered why Gabi didn’t mention that he was visiting. They had a happy reunion and then Rafe talked about proposing to Jada. Gabi congratulated him. Rafe said he’s been thinking about proposing since he came out of the coma.

Tate talked to Brady about Holly’s apology. Brady could tell Tate wasn’t sure whether he wanted to get back together with Holly. He admitted that he slept with another girl. His father wanted details about when it happened, and he told him. Tate felt guilty because he thought his relationship with Holly was over. Brady asked Tate what he wanted. Tate didn’t regret sleeping with Sophia, but he wanted Holly more. He couldn’t sleep with Sophia one night and dump her the next day. Brady didn’t have any easy answers for him. He said that Tate wasn’t helping Sophia by stringing her along. Holly ran into Sophia, and they got into a heated exchange about Tate. Sophia was about to tell her that she slept Tate when her mother called her. Philip met with Kate at the pub. She couldn’t believe that he snuck into town without telling her. He also worked with her biggest enemy. There was something Kate wanted to tell him, but he beat her to it. He told her about the forged letter. Kate hated to admit that Vivian was right, but Philip should run Titan. She thought Vivian should leave now that she did her part to help him. Philip couldn’t let her go because it was her idea to go after Titan. She told him not to worry because she took care of everything. Jada busted into Vivian’s room and arrested her. Vivian shook her head and realized that Kate turned her in. Holly arrived at the Kiriakis mansion to talk to Holly. He wanted to get back together with her. Holly was excited until he confessed that he slept with Sophia. She thought she would be sick. Tate told her that he loved her, but he wanted to see how things went with Sophia. He walked out of the mansion.

Vivian went to see Philip in his hotel room. She wanted him to stop reading Victor’s letter and listen to her. She they needed to move forward with their plan to stop Xander from selling Titan. Philip was having second thoughts because of what happened to Sarah. Xander informed Kristen that he and Philip didn’t agree on what to do with Titan. He had a plan to get what he wanted. The plan was for Philip to die. Kristen wondered if he could kill his brother in cold blood. Xander didn’t think he could do it, but he thought she could get it done. She wasn’t onboard with the plan. He reminded her of the times she wanted him to kill for her. Kristen wanted Titan but not enough to kill for the place. He had to come up with another way to get Philip out of the way to help Sarah walk again. Holly checked her phone and noticed that Tate didn’t reach out to her. Disappointed, she realized that he might still be in bed. There’s a shot of Tate in bed with Sophia. The camera pans to an open condom wrapper on the dresser. Sophia had a smirk on her face and couldn’t believe what happened between them. They didn’t expect to be together, but they were happy about it. Sophia and Tate kissed until she received a text. She lied to her mother about where she was going to be, so her friend Brianna covered for her. Tate went to get them something to eat while Sophia called her mother. He looked at his phone and saw that Holly texted him. Kate introduced Joy to Johnny and Chanel. He forced a smile while Chanel was happy to see her again. Chanel enjoyed her audition. Johnny and Joy pretended to meet for the first time. He became uncomfortable while Chanel and Joy talked to each other about fighting over the same man. Kate wanted to take Chanel for a costume fitting and wanted Johnny to show Joy around.

Vivian didn’t feel sorry for Sarah since she chose to be with Xander. She reminded Philip that Titan was promised to him based on Victor’s letter. She wanted him to get dressed so they could go to work. Kate let Chanel know that she had a soft spot for Johnny and hoped she would give him another chance. Kate shared memories that she had of Johnny as a little boy. Chanel told her that Johnny called her a cheating slut. Kate didn’t want to make excuses for him, but she told him that men jump to conclusions all the time. She said that he overreacted, but he didn’t do the things Philip did over Chloe and Brady. Joy let Johnny know they were in an awkward situation. She didn’t forget he was married and wouldn’t say anything in front of his boss and another actor. With hesitation, Johnny admitted that Chanel was his wife. Joy was shocked by what he told her. She wouldn’t have been nice to her if she knew Chanel cheated on him. Johnny explained what really happened. Joy joked that he wouldn’t have been in her room if he knew the truth. Tate stared at Holly’s message as Sophia got ready for work. She gave him a lingering kiss before she left. Holly talked to Sarah about her relationship with Tate. She was ready to give up when she noticed that she received a text from Tate. Johnny pleaded with Joy not to say anything about their night together. She agreed to keep quiet. Joy didn’t tell anyone about them being together. He appreciated it because Chanel couldn’t find out about them. Kate continued to convince Chanel to get along with Johnny. She wanted her lead actress and director to get along. The last thing Kate wanted was for someone to walk on the set with another problem. She didn’t get what she wanted because Xander stormed on the set with a problem. He demanded that she get her son to stop ruining his deal. She didn’t hide her confusion. He didn’t believe that she wasn’t involved in his plan. Xander ordered her to get Philip to back off. Confused, Kate watched him storm off. Chanel talked to Joy and she told her that Johnny praised her while they were getting to know each other. Her conversation with Joy made her decide to forgive him. She warned Johnny that he was on probation and not to do anything else to screw up their relationship. Holly arrived at the townhouse to see Tate. With a guilty look on his face, he admitted that he had to tell her something. Kate went to see Philip and saw Vivian in her room. They stared at each other.

Marlena brought Johnny a birthday gift. She asked him about the party, and he told her what happened. He let her know that he accused Chanel of cheating on him. Defeated, Johnny admitted that he made a huge mistake. Chanel brought her things to Paulina and Abe’s place. Seth tried to apologize to Stephanie for what he revealed, but his plan made things worse. Bonnie let Alex know that half the town knew that he hooked up with Stephanie. Kate hired Joy as a cast member of the soap. Leo fell asleep while working on a script for Body & Soul. His dream had comments about the soap opera industry. It featured Chanel and Alex’s characters. Their characters were talking and kissed each other. Joy (as Reagan) walked in to stop them from kissing. Faith (Chanel) found out that Arrow (Alex) and Reagan were married. Upset, Faith stormed out of the room. Reagan pulled Arrow into a kiss. He ended the kiss and reminded her that they weren’t together anymore. Arrow said Faith was the only woman for him. Reagan pulled out a knife after he said he wanted Faith. Faith went to see her father Detective Marshall (Abe). He assured her that things would be okay. He left for the station. Someone wearing a mask appeared at Detective Marshall’s doorstep. Later on, Arrow found Faith stabbed to death in the doorway. He looked down and saw a knife. Arrow picked up the knife wondering who killed Faith. Detective Marshall appeared and said he did it. Arrow vehemently denied being the one who stabbed Faith. He insisted that Reagan was the killer. Johnny played Detective John Hotson. Detective Hotson noted that Arrow looked like the Necktie Killer. Arrow told him that he saw someone wearing a white mask. Hotson found the mask in Arrow’s gym bag. He brought Arrow to a cell, but he got the drop on Hotson. Arrow left the jail cell. He arrived at the mansion and saw his mother (Bonnie playing Cassandra) reading about him killing Faith. She believed that he was innocent. He talked about missing Faith. Cassandra reminded him that a begonia brought her back to life, and it might do the same thing for Faith.

Arrow met Cassandra arrived at the hospital and wanted to see Dr. Lamoray (Seth). She wanted him to get begonia juice. Unfortunately, the Pine View Plunger got to Cassandra before Arrow got in her room. He found her dead in her hospital room. Arrow picked up the knife as Detectives Marshall and Hotson appeared in the room. They brought him to the hospital lobby where they found Reagan with a knife plunged in her chest. Arrow tried to escape, but Hotson chased after him. He ran into Reagan’s friend Miranda (played by Stephanie). He told her that he’s being framed for murder. She informed him that Reagan wanted to make him pay for rejecting her. Miranda dropped the bomb that someone was helping her do it. The next time Arrow appears he approaches Dr. Lamoray with his theory that Charlamagne was the Pine View Plunger. Dr. Lamoray reminded him that Charlamagne fell down an elevator shaft. Arrow said that Charlamagne was in contact with Reagan. He accused the doctor of giving Charlamagne the begonia juice to bring her back to life. Detectives Marshall and Hotson searched Charlamagne’s mansion, but they didn’t find anything. After they left, Charlamagne (Hattie) appeared. Arrow went back to the office to talk to Miranda, but she had a knife in her back. Hotson found Arrow with Miranda. Hotson was there to confirm the story that Charlamagne was with Reagan the night of the first murder. Arrow got away from Hotson and went back to the mansion. He found Charlamagne and Marshall dead. Arrow picked up the knife, and Hotson saw him again. They tried to figure out who the killer was when Hotson was stabbed in the back. He stared down at Arrow. It turned out that Marlena was the killer. She was about to kill Leo for bringing her character back to life when he woke up. Johnny tried to apologize to Alex, but he thought he should talk to Chanel. Chanel approached them. Johnny wanted to know if they could get past what happened between them. Kate interrupted them to introduce them to the newest cast member. She introduced them to Joy.

Holly debated on texting Tate to let him know she was back but changed her mind. Maggie came in and welcomed her home. She asked if Holly saw Eric. Holly said she saw him and forgave him and hoped that Tate would forgive her. They talked about Holly trying to get evidence against Brady. Maggie said Holly was feeling the pain of what happened to her father. Holly said she felt foolish acting the way she was when Brady was innocent. She regretted the way she treated Tate. Maggie advised her to tell Tate how she felt about her father’s death which caused her to act the way she did. She told Holly to apologize to Tate and tell him how much she missed him. Holly was afraid Tate would ghost her if she sent the text. Maggie told her she wouldn’t know unless she sent it. Holly sent the text, but it went unanswered. Maggie suggested watching a movie, but Holly was distracted by her phone and why Tate didn’t respond to her text. She told Holly to call Tate. Tate invited Sophia over to hang out. He apologized to her for what happened with the prom, but she said it was a long time ago. Tate suggested watching a movie but it didn’t work. He wanted to go in his room to watch it. When they went in the room, he left his phone in the living room and didn’t see Holly’s text. While they were watching the movie, Sophia told Tate how she felt about him. Tate admitted he had feelings for her. They started making out. While they were making out, Holly knocked on the door. Tate thought he heard something, but Sophia said it was her heart pounding. Holly decided to give up and left. Sophia asked Tate if he had protection to which he said he did. He grabbed a condom out of the nightstand.

At the Brady Pub, Kayla talked to Roman about Chad and fake Abby. While they were talking, Steve came in and told them that he talked to Marlena about Catharina and her mother. He told them Cat’s mother was the same one John thought he killed. Steve said she was still alive. Kayla asked where she was. Steve said he didn’t know and wasn’t sure if she was still alive. He told them that Clyde was holding her hostage. While they were talking, the warden at the prison called Steve and told him Clyde escaped during a transfer to the courthouse for a hearing. At the police station, Chad confronted Catharina. She said she hated what she did to him, but she didn’t have a choice since her mother’s life was in danger. The longer it went on the harder she fell for him. Chad wanted to know where his wife was. When Catharina was confused, Chad asked where was his wife’s body. He said he had Abby’s body exhumed and her body wasn’t in the grave. Catharina said she didn’t know where Abby was, but Chad didn’t believe her. She said she had nothing to do with Abby’s body being missing. Chad was tired of wasting his time with her and decided to talk to Clyde. She asked if he could ask Clyde about her mother if she talked to him. Catharina said she hoped her mother was alive, but she probably wasn’t. Chad said she didn’t have a right to ask for anything and left. Ava ran into Brady at the town square. She said she heard he was out of prison. Brady said he felt bad for falling off the wagon. They talked about Kristen and how she was going to help Sarah. The subject turned to Fiona and Sophia. Ava said Sophia had a crush on Tate. She said Sophia wanted to pursue Tate, but was afraid he still had feelings for Holly. Brady talked about Tate and Holly’s break up. They continued talking to each other and enjoying each other’s company.
