Steve sits in his room with his tablet, reading the Spectator headlines which include Tripp and Wendy escaping death and Clyde’s escape from prison. Steve then tosses his tablet aside in frustration. Kayla comes in and says she was hoping he went back to sleep since he was tossing and turning all night. Steve says he’s okay and just wants to go see Tripp. Kayla says she does too but she talked to Sarah, who said Tripp and Wendy are both resting comfortably. Kayla tells Steve that is 100% thanks to him. Steve says it’s thanks to Kayla too.

Wendy lays in her hospital bed and thinks back to her and Tripp exchanging vows while they were locked up. Tripp then enters her room and hugs her. Wendy questions him being allowed out of bed. Tripp clarifies that he’s not but he knows what time the shift changes. Wendy thinks Ava feels guilty about the whole situation even though it’s not really her fault. Tripp says he feels guilty too and brings up if Wendy went back to China when her parents wanted her to. Tripp knows Ava didn’t want any of this to happen and is horrified that it did, but with her, history has a way of repeating itself. Tripp doesn’t think he could live with himself if something like this happened again.

Chanel and Johnny join Abe at the hospital. Chanel says she got his text and knew they shouldn’t have gone home last night. Chanel questions Paulina flatlining but now doing better. Abe says she’ll find out for herself soon. Johnny doesn’t get it as he thought the only possible solution for Paulina was a heart transplant. Abe says that’s what they all thought. Chanel asks what happened last night then. Abe remarks that he doesn’t know how to explain it and if he didn’t know better, he might think that he dreamed the whole thing.

Eli and Lani go to Paulina’s hospital room but find the bed empty, causing Lani to worry. Eli tells her not to jump to conclusions as he’s sure Abe would’ve let them know if something changed. Abe then enters with Chanel and Johnny. Abe explains that they took Paulina out for some tests to see if she’s as good as she feels. Sarah then wheels Paulina back in. Paulina excitedly says hello to all of her favorite people. Chanel comments that she looks so much better. Paulina admits she feels so much better too. Abe asks Sarah what the verdict is. Sarah responds that there was no blockages and her heart tissue appears healthy, defying all medical explanation. Chanel asks if they have no idea what happened to bring Paulina back and make her heart strong again. Sarah calls it nothing short of a miracle.

Wendy tells Tripp that it’s not his job to keep her safe and jokes that she doesn’t need Ava’s help to get in to trouble but she’s good at getting out of it too. Tripp credits Wendy for being the reason that Steve found them before they ran out of air. Wendy credits Tripp for keeping them sane while they were locked up. Wendy says she clearly remembers everything before they were running out of air, but the last part is kind of blurry like maybe she imagined the whole thing. Tripp says when you run out of oxygen, the brain generates it’s own sensory inputs. Wendy asks if he’s saying maybe she did imagine some of it.

Kayla doesn’t understand how she can be responsible for saving Wendy and Tripp. Steve points out that he never would’ve learned CPR if she hadn’t taught him and made him take a refresher course a few months ago. Kayla feels he’s giving her too much credit. Steve adds that he never would’ve picked up on Wendy’s ASL clues in Tripp’s hostage video if he hadn’t learned sign language with Kayla all those years ago and jokes that the sign for beer was one he remembered. Steve adds that after he caught the sign language, John zoomed in on the wall and it clicked they were in the brewery tank passed the airport. Kayla guesses Steve was lucky to have remembered sign language. Steve wishes he picked up on it sooner so they didn’t come so close to losing Wendy and Tripp. Kayla encourages that Wendy and Tripp are now safe and okay. Kayla adds that Steve is obviously worried about something else. Steve brings up Clyde breaking out of prison. Kayla says there was nothing he could do so she asks what else. Steve says it’s just the whole nightmare of Ava getting involved with Clyde in the first place and nearly getting Tripp killed. Steve adds that Konstantin is still using Maggie, Abe still has amnesia, and Paulina’s in the hospital dying of heart failure. Kayla then reveals to him that Paulina is not dying of heart failure which Steve questions. Kayla calls it crazy but she just talked to Sarah, who said that against all odds, Paulina’s heart is functioning normal and she’s just back to normal. Steve asks how that’s possible. Kayla chalks it up to prayer and love because Paulina certainly has a lot of both. Steve calls that fantastic news and says Abe must be so relieved. Kayla says that things were rough last night, but this morning, they have so much to be thankful and grateful for. Steve agrees as he hugs her.

Chanel calls it a miracle while Lani calls it a medical mystery. Paulina doesn’t want to jinx it. Chanel declares that they have her back and are never letting her go again. Paulina states there is another very important miracle to celebrate. Paulina brings up Lani being free and Chanel being a newlywed. Lani points out that Chanel and Johnny can finally go on their honeymoon. Johnny says they haven’t really thought about that with everything going on. Chanel adds that she wouldn’t feel comfortable going too far right now which Johnny understands. Chanel asks Paulina about the other miracle. Paulina then announces that Abe finally has his memory back. Lani asks if that’s true. Abe confirms that he remembers everything and he remembers the day that he found out Lani was his daughter. Abe says even though he eventually found out Lani wasn’t his biologically, he still felt so much for her and always will. Abe tells Lani that he’s so proud to be her father. Lani tells Abe that she loves him and she has no words as she hugs him. Abe declares that he remembers falling in love with Paulina for the first time and he’s so happy that he got to fall in love with her all over again. Johnny calls this a beautiful moment. Johnny says as much as he loves most of his family, he swears the Carvers must have an angel. Abe agrees that they do.

Tripp tells Wendy that his memory is pretty hazy from last night too and asks what she thinks happened. They get interrupted by Sarah coming in. Sarah says she figured she’d find Tripp there. Tripp asks if she’s kicking him out. Sarah jokes that she’s already broken rules so she’ll go ahead and break another. Sarah checks on Wendy’s breathing.

Lani thought they would have so much to celebrate when she got released from prison but then Eli’s family’s house burned down and Paulina was so sick, so she was afraid this would not be a happy visit. Eli says they are on a major roll with good news. Eli then gets a call and says he has to take it. Lani tells Paulina and Abe that they will be back with a surprise or two. Paulina tells them to hurry back as she loves surprises. After Eli and Lani exit, Paulina tells Abe that she thinks she knows exactly what those two surprises are.

Johnny and Chanel run in to Steve and Kayla in the town square. Kayla congratulates Johnny and Chanel on their marriage while Steve mentions hearing the good news about Paulina. Kayla notes that they are on their way to see Paulina and are bringing flowers for her as well as Wendy and Tripp. Johnny asks what Wendy and Tripp are celebrating. Kayla questions them not hearing. Steve reveals that they were held hostage. Kayla says it was a close call but they were rescued by Steve and John, so now they are doing okay. Chanel guesses that makes four miracles now which Steve questions. Chanel and Johnny then announce that Abe got his memory back which amazes Steve and Kayla. Kayla says that must be such a relief for their entire family. Chanel credits all the hours that Kayla worked with Abe. Kayla says they all did an amazing job being supportive and encouraging. Kayla calls it very unusual for someone to get their memory back so suddenly and completely. Chanel remarks that it seems like everything about yesterday was unusual.

Sarah guesses that Tripp looked at he and Wendy’s charts already, joking that they say doctors are the worst patients. Steve and Kayla arrive. Kayla questions Tripp being out of bed. Wendy assures they are feeling much better. Kayla asks Sarah how they are doing. Sarah confirms their levels are good, they are stable and look a lot better than when they came in. Kayla drops off flowers for Wendy. Sarah tells Kayla that she’d love to chat with her about something so they step out of the room to talk. Steve asks Tripp if Ava was there to spin her side of the story. Tripp knows Steve is angry but says Clyde forced Ava in to this and she had no choice. Steve argues that people died because of the tainted drugs that Ava was running through the Bistro and that Tripp and Wendy could have died. Tripp insists that Ava was trying to protect them and begged them to leave Salem but he couldn’t leave her to deal with this all on her own. Steve questions Tripp knowing that Ava was involved in the drug operation. Steve demands an answer as to how long Tripp has known and why he didn’t tell him.

Paulina tells Abe that she guesses they aren’t going to tell the kids about Lexie. Abe says they wouldn’t believe that his first wife appeared to them from the afterlife and miraculously healed both of them. Paulina is quite sure that they both did not imagine the same thing but she wonders if Abe getting back some memories of her might cause him to wonder why he was with her which Abe questions. Paulina worries about Abe remembering all the lies she told and the problems she caused. Abe tells Paulina that she’s a complicated and amazing woman. Abe says most people have never had what he’s had once, let alone twice. Abe can’t wait to spend the rest of these years making new memories with her as they kiss.

Eli finishes his call and informs Lani that the FBI approved his status change to part time and that they gave him everything he asked for and more. Lani says that’s because he’s the best and she’s so proud of him. Eli tells her that means more money and he gets to spend more time with her and their twins. Lani adds that means less time in harm’s way. Eli says that’s if he takes the job. Lani points out that it’s everything he ever wanted. Eli mentions that the job is in DC, but now that they are back home, he doesn’t know how he feels about leaving. Lani admits that she doesn’t know either.

Tripp tells Steve that he didn’t tell him because he knew he would go ballistic but he knows it’s not an excuse and he’s sorry. Steve says he’s not mad at him, he’s angry at Ava. Steve understands Tripp is defending her because he’s a good son. Steve decides he’s just grateful they are both okay. Steve admits that he was so scared when he couldn’t get him to breathe. Steve apologizes for breaking Tripp’s rib. Tripp calls it a minor crack. Kayla returns to the room and encourages that Steve did everything right, noting that it’s very common to crack a rib with the force of CPR. Tripp tells Steve that he saved his life and he’s so grateful as they hug.

Paulina still feels like she’s in a dream as she sits here with her husband, who now has his memories back. Paulina talks about dreaming of this for so many months. Paulina thanks God and thanks Lexie as she declares they will be making many more beautiful and perfect memories together.

Johnny and Chanel join Steve, Kayla, and Tripp in Wendy’s hospital room with treats from the bakery. Kayla mentions they were just heading to Paulina’s room. Steve says they will let them visit. Tripp thanks them for everything as Steve and Kayla exit. Wendy asks Chanel how Paulina is doing. Chanel admits the past few weeks had been really rough but now she is doing much better. Wendy then notices Chanel’s wedding ring. Chanel reveals that she and Johnny got married in Paulina’s hospital room on Valentine’s Day. Tripp and Wendy congratulate them. Tripp says he always knew they would wind up together. Johnny declares that it seems as though they are all exactly where they belong.

Steve and Kayla visit with Paulina and Abe. Paulina thanks Kayla and Steve for all they have done for them. Kayla is not sure that it was the medical attention that cured Paulina or got Abe’s memory back. Steve says they have thanked them enough. Abe informs them that they will be losing him a houseguest as he is moving back in with Paulina as they kiss. Kayla says they are thrilled for both of them. Steve invites them to dinner as soon as Paulina is out of the hospital. Kayla says it will be a big celebration. Steve tells Abe that he’s so happy for him as they hug.

Wendy comments to Tripp on another wedding. Tripp asks what she means by another. Wendy reminds him that they were talking about what they remembered from last night before Kayla and Sarah came in. Wendy gets interrupted by a call from her mom. Wendy answers until her mom hangs up on her, saying she was mad that she heard about her near death experience from the news. Tripp guesses she was just worried about her, especially after what happened to Li as her parents would be devastated if something happened. Wendy realizes she’s been scared before but never as much as she was last night but she never felt as safe as she did in Tripp’s arms.

Johnny and Chanel give Sarah a box of croissants and donuts for the staff. Sarah brings up what they said earlier about not wanting to go far away on a honeymoon. Sarah informs them that they could always go to the Horton cabin which is private and cozy. Johnny says that sounds pretty good to him. Chanel says as soon as they get Paulina home and settled, they will do it.

Lani sits with Paulina and talks about how they brought the twins to visit which Paulina says she loved and was hoping would be her surprise. Eli returns and says the twins are now at the park with Julie. Paulina hoped they could’ve stayed a little longer so Eli says he will bring them back later. Paulina talks about how she can’t wait to babysit and make up for long time. Paulina then questions the looks on Eli and Lani’s faces. Lani says Paulina would get to babysit all the time if they were going to stay in Salem which Paulina questions. Lani guesses Abe didn’t tell her about Eli’s potential job offer in DC which she confirms. Abe notes that Lani said it was only a potential job offer. Paulina asks them to tell her now. Lani calls it a great opportunity for Eli but they love being in Salem. Paulina guesses they are going anyways. Lani says only if Paulina will be truly happy for them, otherwise they will stay here. Lani tells Paulina to just say the word. Paulina says not to put this on her. Paulina says she doesn’t want them to go but understands they have to do what’s right for their family. Paulina adds that when she can finally travel, she’ll be there as often as she can. Lani hugs Paulina as Chanel and Johnny return to the room. Chanel asks what’s going on. Paulina says they’re starving and asks where they have been. Chanel responds that they just took a little detour.

Tripp jokes with Wendy about waiting for someone else to interrupt them but says they might actually be safe now as he kisses her. Tripp asks what they were talking about. Wendy reminds him that it was what they thought they remembered from last night. Tripp tells her to tell him what she remembers. Wendy then asks if Tripp really proposed to her last night.

Paulina tells Chanel about Jules and Carver being there until Eli took them to the park. Johnny says they willl see them later. Sarah enters the room so Paulina asks when she can go home. Sarah says her blood work is still looking great and she might be released by tomorrow. Sarah says she still has follow ups but the end is definitely in sight.

Steve calls John and leaves a voicemail that they need to talk about the fallout from Clyde’s escape. Kayla comes over and says she’s ready to go but notes Steve is distracted and asks what’s going on. Steve responds that Clyde’s escape from prison is still eating at him since Tripp and Wendy suffered because of him, he killed their niece, and he kidnapped Kayla and Joey. They worry about what he could be planning next. Kayla insists that Clyde will be found and brought back to prison. Steve declares that Clyde better hope the police get him before he does.

Steve, John, and Ava go to the brewery. Ava prays while John and Steve get the tank open. Ava asks if they are alive. John tells Ava to just stay back as he and Steve head inside.

Tate questions Holly saying she can’t tell the truth, arguing that they are talking about his life and right now, he has no life as he’s stuck in a halfway house for no reason. Tate shouts that he wants his life back. Holly then agrees to tell that the drugs weren’t his but says she can’t say that they belonged to her. Tate complains that they will still think the drugs were his then and asks why she can’t tell the truth. Holly reveals that she overheard Nicole talking to EJ when she thought she was sleeping and she was talking about how disappointed she would be if it was her drugs. Holly talks about what it did to Nicole to lose her baby and then her almost dying. Holly declares that she can’t do that to Nicole and she would never trust her again. Tate questions if Holly is going to sacrifice him and his future so she can keep up appearances. Holly says it’s not like that. Tate asks what it’s like then. Tate pleads with Holly to help him but then EJ enters the room. EJ is shocked as Holly tries to tell him it’s not what it looks like. EJ questions how the hell Tate got in there and says he’s calling the police.

Brady runs in to Sarah in the town square. Sarah mentions heading to work while Brady is going to the gym. Brady stops and asks if she has a minute as he has a medical question for her about comas.

Steve and John try to revive Tripp and Wendy while Ava calls 911. Ava prays while Steve and John are unable to revive them. Rafe and Harris then arrive. Ava cries as Steve and John continue working on Tripp and Wendy. John says they need serious medical help now. Rafe calls for backup.

Brady asks Sarah if a coma can affect Holly’s memory. Sarah responds that she can’t discuss that with him because of doctor-patient confidentiality. Brady asks if a person’s memory in general can be affected by a coma. Sarah says she’s not a neurologist, but she knows there is a potential for that as a coma can cause a wide range of impairments which can include memory loss. Brady questions if it’s short term or long term. Sarah says it depends on the severity of brain damage and how long they were in a coma. Brady asks if the memories could come back because his son’s future depends on Holly remembering what happened the night she overdosed. Sarah says she’s sorry as she can’t imagine how hard that must be. Sarah repeats that it’s not her specialty but from what she knows, memories can come back quickly, gradually, or sometimes not at all. Brady confirms he read that online but he wanted a professional’s opinion, so he thanks her. Sarah hopes everything works out for Tate as she then walks away. Brady thinks back to Tate insisting to him that the drugs were Holly’s and trying to figure out how to prove it.

Holly asks EJ not to call the police because Tate didn’t do anything wrong. EJ argues that he broke into his home. Holly asks for a chance to explain why he’s there so EJ allows it. Tate explains that he has just been so worried about Holly. EJ blames Tate for Holly nearly dying. Tate says that’s not true and that he has it all wrong about that night. Tate swears the drugs were not his. Nicole then comes in and questions what Tate is doing there. EJ says he was apparently breaking and entering through Holly’s window. Tate says he just missed Holly so much. EJ decides he’s calling the police and nothing can stop him this time. Holly asks Nicole to stop him but Nicole says she can’t do that. Nicole tells Tate that she’s going to call his father. Nicole calls Brady and says she needs him to get to the DiMera Mansion right away as Tate broke in to see Holly which shocks Brady. Nicole adds that EJ is calling the police right now so Brady says he’s on his way and hangs up. Nicole then asks Tate and Holly what’s really going on.

Steve and John continue working on Tripp and Wendy while Ava prays for Tripp to come back to them. Rafe checks Wendy and finds that she has a pulse. Steve tells Tripp that Wendy’s coming back, so he has to fight to come back to them. Rafe tells Wendy they are here for her and asks her to squeeze his hand if she can hear him which she does. Rafe exclaims that Wendy’s back as John encourages her. Wendy regains consciousness and asks where Tripp is. Rafe tells her that Steve is helping him. Wendy asks if he’s okay. John says the only way to help Tripp is for her to get stronger. John urges Wendy to focus on him and breathe. Steve checks Tripp and finds his pulse. Ava asks if he can hear her. Tripp slowly regains consciousness and asks where Wendy is, referring to her as his wife. Ava encourages Tripp that Wendy is there and okay which relieves him. Ava points out that Tripp called Wendy his wife. Steve guesses he just hopes that someday she will be, but right now that they are just relieved that they are okay. Rafe gets a call from Jada. Rafe informs Jada that they found Tripp and Wendy and it looks like they will be okay. Rafe tells Jada to stay on top of it and call him with any updates. Rafe hangs up and announces that Clyde Weston escaped from prison. John asks if Jada had any intel on that. Rafe responds that it just happened so he’s sure they are looking at security footage as they speak. Harris wonders if Clyde had help from Goldman. Rafe is sure of it and asks who else would help…

Brady goes to the DiMera Mansion. EJ questions Nicole calling him. Nicole argues that Brady had a right to know what’s going on with his son. Brady checks on Tate, who insists that he just wanted to see Holly and make sure she was okay. EJ argues that Tate just wanted to make sure that Holly would lie for him. EJ adds that he heard Holly tell Tate not to make her do this when he opened the door. Tate argues that he just wanted Holly to tell the truth because he just wants his life back. The doorbell rings so EJ tells him that he can tell his story to the police. Tate pleads with Holly to tell them what happened or else they will take him back to jail. EJ returns with two cops and orders them to arrest Tate for breaking and entering. Brady asks if they can talk about this. EJ argues that there is nothing to talk about. EJ calls Tate a plague on his family and says they’ve all had enough. EJ goes over how Tate left his halfway house without permission and broke in to harass Holly. Brady argues that Tate was falsely accused and is a good, honest kid who wouldn’t have risked everything to break in if he wasn’t telling the truth. Brady declares that all Tate wants is for Holly to tell the truth about how and why she overdosed on New Year’s Eve. EJ complains that they already know how, accusing Tate of pushing drugs on Holly and that he only broke in to try and save his own ass. Holly yells at him to stop and says that’s not true. Holly then faints in to Nicole’s arms.

John, Steve, Harris, Ava, and Rafe go to the hospital with Tripp and Wendy. Rafe calls Jada and informs her that Tripp and Wendy are both awake and they should be able to interview them tonight. Rafe tells Jada to stay on the horn as they will need to interview guards and support staff as soon as possible. Rafe says he’ll see her at the station and hangs up. Harris calls it a hell of a stunt for Clyde to break out of prison. Ava asks Steve and John why they haven’t heard anything yet. Steve encourages that Tripp and Wendy are in good hands, so they need to trust the doctors to do their job. John points out trust and questions Ava, saying they had a plan here. Ava argues that Tripp and Wendy might have died if she hadn’t thought like Clyde. Sarah comes out and informs them that they can see Tripp and Wendy now. Ava asks Sarah if Tripp is going to be okay. Sarah confirms he is resting comfortably but asks her to keep the visit short since they need rest. Ava thanks Sarah as her and Steve go to see Tripp. John asks Sarah if Wendy is up for a visit as well. Sarah thinks she is and sends John to her room. Sarah then sees Harris and asks how he’s feeling. Harris says he’s feeling stronger every day. Sarah says she’s glad to hear that but she would still like to check him out. Sarah sends Harris to Wendy’s room and tells him to then meet her in the exam room.

Ava and Steve enter Tripp’s hospital room to check on him. Tripp says he’s good and just glad to be in an actual bed. Ava doesn’t think she’s ever been that scared in her life but points out that Steve saved Tripp’s life. Steve calls it a group effort and says that what’s important is they found him in time.

Rafe and John enter Wendy’s hospital room to check on her. Wendy admits she’s not great physically but she’s beyond relieved and grateful to be able to breathe. Wendy says they really saved her and Tripp’s lives and thanks them. Rafe asks if he should contact her parents. Wendy says she tried to call her mom but it went to voicemail, so she just let her know she was okay. Wendy asks if Tripp is okay too. John confirms his parents are in with him now. Harris then enters the room. Rafe asks if Wendy feels up to talking about what happened. Wendy responds that what happened was that Officer Goldman found her and Tripp during the geocaching event on Valentine’s Day and told them that Tripp was in danger, so they had to follow her immediately to a safehouse which she said was a direct order from Rafe. Rafe says they just learned she was a bad cop and wishes they had known sooner. Wendy says she was so sure that she was one of the good guys. Rafe says they are just learning of all the criminal activities that she’s been up to. John credits Wendy for the sign language clue. Rafe asks what he’s missing. Wendy brings up the video and guesses Rafe didn’t notice her behind Tripp, signing the word “beer”. John explains that Wendy’s good thinking is what led them to the brewery. Rafe calls that really impressive but remarks that maybe they would’ve found her sooner if Ava just shared the video with them in the first place.

Nicole checks on Holly while EJ rushes to pull Tate back. EJ picks Holly up and orders the cops to get Tate out of there. EJ carries Holly out and upstairs while Nicole follows. Tate asks Brady to do something as the cops arrest Tate.

Wendy pleads with Rafe not to be upset with Ava since Goldman told them that no cops could know about the video or they’d be dead. Rafe argues that Ava knew she could trust him but Harris points out that it was a happy ending since Tripp and Wendy are okay and safe. Rafe knows Harris is close with Ava but warns about if he finds out Ava had anything to do with Clyde’s escape. Harris questions where that’s coming from. Rafe asks if Harris doesn’t think it’s a little convenient that Tripp and Wendy are found at the same time as Clyde’s escape. Harris points out there’s no evidence linking Ava to Clyde’s escape. Rafe responds that they both know what Ava is capable of.

Tripp thanks Steve and Ava for not giving up on them. Tripp admits that towards the end, he and Wendy were sure that they were going to die in the tank. Steve informs him that Wendy’s sign language saved them. Tripp says they didn’t have time to plan anything but Wendy thankfully acted on her own. Ava calls Wendy a brave woman. Steve is thankful that Goldman didn’t notice what Wendy was doing. Steve admits they almost didn’t catch it at first. Ava credits Steve and John for being relentless on the video and not giving up. Ava tells Tripp that she’s counting on him coming home real soon, so she tells him to just relax. Ava offers to stay, so Tripp tells her and Steve both to stay as long as they want.

Sarah checks on Harris and tells him that he’s very lucky as his stitches were not meant to be put through the ringer. Harris points out that he’s still standing. Sarah gives him an antibiotic to take and pain medicine to take if necessary. Sarah admires his dedication to his job. Harris says the same to her. Sarah hopes that Harris gets to the bottom of his own case, pointing out that Xander has been held in jail without bail ever since Harris was shot. Harris says he’s sorry about that and he’s sure the officers were just following the evidence. Sarah comments on it pointing directly at Xander. Sarah says she knows Xander is innocent and now that Harris is up and around, she thought maybe he would remember who did shoot him. Harris responds that so far, he doesn’t. Sarah hopes he remembers soon because Victoria really misses her dad and Xander is missing a lot of firsts. Harris repeats that he’s sorry. Sarah thanks him and says she does understand, but points out that he’s a really experienced detective so she has every faith that he’ll continue investigating who did shoot him so that she and Victoria can bring Xander home where he belongs.

Steve and John talk at the hospital about Tripp and Wendy seeming in good spirits. Steve guesses when they are feeling stronger, they can get more information from them. John is not sure that time is on their side. Steve asks what he’s talking about since no one knows they were involved in Clyde’s escape. John informs him that Rafe is suspicious of Ava based on past experience with her and he got the vibe that Rafe is about to start digging. Steve worries that Rafe’s digging could lead straight back to them. John worries that they made a serious mistake in letting the devil loose, so God only knows what’s going to happen next.

Rafe joins Harris in a room at the hospital. Harris fills him in on getting checked out. Rafe says he’s heading to put a task force together as this investigation is going to be massive. Harris responds that he’ll be right behind him but Rafe says no. Harris questions what he means. Rafe orders Harris to go home and get some rest because he needs him healed up and he can’t take the chance of losing him.

Sarah goes to Tripp’s hospital room to check on him. Tripp says he would feel better if he could see Wendy and asks if he could be taken to see her. Sarah then brings Wendy in to see Tripp. Tripp says he’s so excited to see her. Wendy says they couldn’t keep her away from him for long. They talk about making it through and say they love each other as they kiss.

Nicole and EJ get Holly back in her bed. Holly assures her that she’s fine. Nicole offers to call Sarah but Holly promises she doesn’t need to do that. EJ says they will be right down the hall. Holly asks him not to send Tate to jail, promising that he didn’t do anything wrong. Nicole says they can talk about it in the morning as she needs to rest. Holly argues that she doesn’t understand but EJ insists that Nicole knows what’s best for her. EJ and Nicole then exit the room. Holly thinks back to New Year’s Eve and Tate trying to talk her out of using the drugs and then to Tate asking her to tell the truth earlier.

Tate asks Brady to check on Holly. Brady is sure that EJ and Nicole are taking care of her while right now, his focus is on him. Tate asks what’s going to happen to him, promising he won’t leave the halfway house again. Brady says his hands are tied and he can’t help him after he broke in to the district attorney’s house. Tate asks him to talk to Nicole but Brady says she won’t turn on her husband right now. Brady tells Tate that he’s sorry. The cops say it’s time. Brady says he’ll talk to Justin about getting him out of this. Tate apologizes, admitting that he really screwed up this time. The cops then escort Tate out of the mansion.

Harris and Ava embrace at the hospital. Ava thanks him for everything he did for her son. Harris states that Tripp is going to be okay. Ava says Harris is too. Harris knows that Ava was there for him a lot when he was unconscious as Rafe told him. Harris is sure it helped his recovery to sense that she was around him. Ava isn’t sure how much it helped but she was definitely around him. Ava asks how he’s feeling. Harris says he’s glad he’s not staying here tonight as he’s looking forward to sleeping in his own bed. Ava asks what about her bed since Harris is still recovering from a gunshot wound and she knows he’s not recovered fully yet so he will need someone to help take care of him and she’d like to be that someone if he’d let her.

Holly lays in bed in her room and gets another direct message from Theresa’s account. She opens the message and sees that it’s Tate asking her to call him through the app as soon as she sees the message.

Tate lays in bed with Theresa’s phone and gets excited when he sees that Holly has seen his message, so he hopes that she calls him.

Tripp and Wendy remain locked up and trying to stay conscious. Wendy weakly tells Tripp that she loved exchanging vows but points out that they didn’t finish.

Ava is left tied up at the airfield and screams in frustration that Clyde is a lying bastard. Ava asks herself what she was thinking as she worries about losing Tripp. John and Steve then return. Steve tells Ava that he told her.

At the police station, Rafe tells Jada that Rebecca Goldman was the last person he ever expected to be on the dark side. Jada says being shocked was an understatement. Harris arrives at the station. Rafe and Jada question what he’s doing there. Harris reveals that he checked himself out of the hospital. Rafe tells Harris that he doesn’t need to do this in his condition and assures that they have this handled. Harris argues that they can always use an extra pair of eyes and there’s no way he’s going to lie in his hospital bed doing nothing.

At the hospital, Abe holds Paulina’s hand and prays as she imagines someone appearing in the room. Abe turns to look and the woman greets Abe. He questions her knowing him and asks if he’s hallucinating. Paulina then identifies that it’s Abe’s late wife, Lexie, and says she recognizes her from pictures. Paulina introduces herself and asks Lexie if it’s time. Abe questions what’s going on. Paulina asks if Abe sees Lexie, his first wife. Abe argues that Lexie died years ago

Rafe tells Harris that maybe they can use him so Harris asks where to start. Jada says she still can’t wrap her head around Rebecca Goldman working for Clyde. Rafe adds that they have an APB out for Rebecca and her car while they are also searching her records, though he’s sure she used a burner phone and she’s no amateur considering how she played them. Harris declares that they win this by skating to where the puck is going to be and not where it is now.

Ava questions how John and Steve got back. John responds that it took them three minutes to leave her goons laying on the side of the road as he unties her. Ava argues that she had no choice but John says she did. Ava complains that Clyde lied to her. John guesses that now Clyde is long gone. Steve asks Ava what Clyde told her about Tripp. Ava responds that he said Tripp is as good as dead. Steve doesn’t accept anything Clyde says and refuses to believe it until they leave no stone unturned. Ava blames herself as Steve yells at her to shut up. Steve declares that they have to find Tripp before it’s too late as they walk off.

Tripp and Wendy struggle to stay awake as Tripp talks about wanting to buy them a house one day and have kids as they say I love you to each other.

Holly remains in her room as she hears a noise outside her window. Holly then opens her window and is shocked to find Tate climbing up.

Abe recalls reading that Lexie was his first wife’s name but repeats that she died. Paulina confirms that Lexie died from brain cancer years ago. Paulina brings up that Abe and Lexie had a son together, Theo. Abe then questions if Lexie is there to take Paulina to the other side. Paulina tearfully declares that it’s her time but Abe refuses to let her go.

Jada can’t believe that she was a friend to Rebecca. Rafe notes that they took her word for it when she shot the drug dealer. Harris goes over how Rebecca was doing Clyde’s dirty work all that time right under their noses. Jada remembers Rebecca saying she had a sore arm on the night of the shooting at Lucas and she said she hurt it at the gym but Kate shot at the shooter so it all makes sense now. Harris admits she was good and asks if they’ve questioned Officer Phillips. Rafe confirms Phillips is not thrilled to be on desk duty but understands they have to investigate him too. Rafe adds that Phillips was furious and seemed shocked. Jada wonders what else they will uncover.

Tate climbs in to Holly’s room and hugs her, saying she’s alive and he can’t believe he’s looking at her. Holly tells him that he shouldn’t be there. Tate assures that no one saw him and asks what happened. Holly responds that she was in a coma but she’s fine now. Tate talks about thinking she was going to die and not knowing what to do. Holly holds his hand and says he doesn’t have to go anywhere. Tate asks if she’s really okay. Holly confirms that she is, so Tate then grabs her and kisses her. Holly can’t believe he climbed up to her window. Tate says he’s done crazier. Holly asks if he’s going to tell her what he’s doing there. Tate says she wasn’t answering his messages so he was running out of options. Holly says she just didn’t know what to say to him but she guesses she knows what she wants to say now. Holly then tells Tate that she’s really sorry.

Ava goes back to her apartment with John and Steve. Steve decides they have to call Rafe and get Tripp’s video to the police. John says no talk about Clyde’s escape. Ava says she doesn’t care what happens to her as long as Tripp is okay. John then calls Rafe and tells him that Ava received a very disturbing video of Tripp and Wendy being held hostage. John says the situation looks dire and asks Rafe if he wants to look at it. Rafe tells John to send it over as they hang up. John hopes Rafe can pick up on something they missed. Steve plays the video again for he, John, and Ava. Steve thinks he sees something in the video.

Tripp and Wendy struggle to stay awake.

The vision of Lexie asks Abe if he remembers when he last saw her, reminding him that it was in Heaven. Abe then has a flashback to that moment. Abe tells Lexie that he remembers now and declares that he remembers it all, including when he and Lexie met as partners in the police department. Abe excitedly asks Paulina if she knows what this means.

Tate tells Holly not to be sorry and insists that it’s fine. Holly argues that it’s not fine and that she’s ashamed because she should’ve known better. Holly acknowledges that Tate even told her not to take the pills but admits that she thought they were just harmless ADHD meds. Holly adds that she should’ve listened to Tate. Tate questions that being why she’s sorry. Holly asks if there’s something else. Tate then asks if she has any idea what happened after she overdosed as he reveals that EJ blamed him and said that he forced her to take the drugs, then had him arrested which shocks Holly.

Abe tells Lexie that they had quite the life together. Abe admits they had their ups and downs but they were very much in love. Abe brings up their son Theo and Lexie being chief of staff at the hospital. Abe jokes that he only seems to fall in love with confident and feisty women. Lexie tells Abe that now he needs to focus on the woman he’s committed the rest of his life to. Abe agrees and declares that Paulina is his life now and his everything. Abe repeats that he remembers their wedding. Abe says they have so much more life to live but Paulina loses consciousness. Abe frantically asks if Paulina is with him as her monitors flatline, causing Abe to panic.

Harris, Jada, and Rafe watch Tripp’s video. Harris calls it proof that Clyde is the mastermind behind everything because he knew if he took Tripp, he could get Ava to do anything he demanded in order to save her son. Harris points out that Clyde’s plan to take him out failed miserably and he thinks they have a criminal conspiracy on their hands with Rebecca Goldman. Rafe remembers that he had Goldman fill out the missing persons report on Tripp and Wendy and she listed herself as the point of contact, so if anyone reached out, it would go straight to her. Rafe instructs Jada to pull Rebecca’s GPS info from when Tripp and Wendy went missing. Harris gets a pain in his side so Rafe asks if he’s sure he’s okay to do this. Harris insists that he is so Rafe instructs him to call the prison to find out if there was any contact between Goldman and Clyde. Harris says he’s on it. Rafe hopes this leads them to something.

Steve tells Ava and John to focus on the gestures that Wendy makes behind Tripp in the video. Steve looks up sign language as he thinks that’s what Wendy was doing. Steve finds out she used sign language for “beer”. John points out the background and they realize there’s an abandoned brewery tank by the airport. Ava points out that they were just at the airport.

Holly questions Tate about EJ having him arrested. Tate explains that he was first sent to jail then an awful place for juvenile criminals and then a halfway house. Holly says she’s sorry as she had no idea. Tate tells her not to be sorry and to just help him by telling the truth. Holly questions what exactly to tell. Tate says that the pills were Holly’s and her overdose was because she took those pills and that he had nothing to do with it. Holly responds that she can’t do that.

Harris tells Jada and Rafe that he couldn’t get through to the prison as apparently there was a toxic chemical spill and their hands are full. Jada tracks Rebecca’s GPS and finds a location listed a dozen times since Tripp and Wendy went missing. Jada notes that it’s too far out of town to be a stop on her trail. Jada finds out it’s the brewery by the airport. Harris decides he’s going with Rafe. Rafe instructs Jada to find out any more stops that Rebecca made as he then exits with Harris.

Steve, John, and Ava go to the brewery. Ava prays while John and Steve get the tank open. Ava asks if they are alive. John tells Ava to just stay back as he and Steve head inside.

Abe tells Lexie that he remembers after he got shot, she appeared to him from Heaven and said it wasn’t his time as he was needed here in this life. Lexie responds that he still is. Abe cries that they need Paulina as so many people count on her, so she can’t leave. Lexie clarifies that she’s not there to take anyone, but to help he and Paulina. Lexie instructs Abe to close his eyes and feel the love inside his heart, then transfer in to Paulina. Abe sits back down next to Paulina.

Tate questions Holly saying she can’t tell the truth, arguing that they are talking about his life and right now, he has no life as he’s stuck in a halfway house for no reason. Tate shouts that he wants his life back. Holly then agrees to tell that the drugs weren’t his but says she can’t say that they belonged to her. Tate complains that they will still think the drugs were his then and asks why she can’t tell the truth. Holly reveals that she overheard Nicole talking to EJ when she thought she was sleeping and she was talking about how disappointed she would be if it was her drugs. Holly talks about what it did to Nicole to lose her baby and then her almost dying. Holly declares that she can’t do that to Nicole. Tate questions if Holly is going to sacrifice him and his future so she can keep up appearances. Holly says it’s not like that. Tate asks what it’s like then. Tate pleads with Holly to help him and then they hear someone trying to open the door.

Steve and John try to revive Tripp and Wendy while Ava calls 911. Ava prays while Steve and John are unable to revive them. Rafe and Harris then arrive. Ava cries as Steve and John continue working on Tripp and Wendy.

Abe cries for Paulina not to leave him as a nurse enters to check on her and sees that Paulina is suddenly breathing again and wakes up. Abe realizes the vision of Lexie has vanished and declares that he believes.

Chanel and Lani join Abe in Paulina’s hospital room where Abe informs them that Paulina is not doing good.

Wendy and Tripp remain locked up as Tripp encourages that Ava and Steve must be looking for them by now. Wendy wonders how they will know they are there and worries about how long they have until running out of oxygen. Tripp points out that the danger is more in the carbon monoxide. Wendy wants to know if there is a chance of them dying.

Steve, John, and Ava wait outside of the prison. John says it’s time to roll while Ava prays that this has to work.

Two men inside the prison dump over barrels of bleach and ammonia as they then take off running.

Clyde lays on his bed in his cell reading a book until the alarms go off which excites him.

Lani asks how Paulina’s breathing is. Abe responds that it’s labored and the doctors were there earlier but there’s no change or update on a possible heart transplant. Lani suggests Abe go get some rest while she and Chanel stay with Paulina. Chanel promises they won’t leave her side. Abe says maybe later. Lani argues that Abe looks exhausted and needs sleep but Abe insists that he’s fine and wants to be there when Paulina wakes up. Abe tells them that the doctors say Paulina is running out of time but points out that thousands of other people are waiting for a heart transplant too. Chanel and Lani agree that they cannot give up hope.

Tripp encourages Wendy to take slow, shallow breaths. Wendy comments on him being so brave. Wendy tries to encourage that they will be okay and says even if they are not, she’ll be okay because she’s with the man she loves as they hug. Wendy then asks if Tripp believes in God.

Steve and John break in to the prison and confront Clyde in his cell.

Paulina wakes up and is greeted by Abe, Lani, and Chanel. Chanel asks how she’s feeling. Paulina asks about her grandbabies. Lani assures her that Eli will bring them tomorrow. Abe shows Paulina drawings that her grandkids made for her. Paulina jokes with Chanel about giving her more grandbabies. Chanel says to give her and Johnny some time as they just got married. Paulina tells Chanel to tell them about her if she doesn’t make it.

Tripp informs Wendy that Ava was run Catholic and it runs pretty deep in her family. Wendy says that she’s asking about him. Tripp talks about having patients at the hospital from all kinds of faith and backgrounds. Tripp says when he’s had to give bad news to someone, it seems the religious one are usually comforted by their belief in the afterlife and that God is watching over them. Wendy asks if Tripp believes that everything happens for a reason and that God is looking out for them right now. Tripp responds that he wants to believe that, especially now. Tripp can’t believe they’ve never talked about this and asks if Wendy is religious at all. Wendy talks about being taught to seek enlightenment through meditation and it was drummed in to her that life is beautiful and mysterious but also full of suffering and uncertainty, like right now. Tripp is sorry that she’s not back in China with her family but Wendy stops him and assures that she’s here because she’s in love with him. Tripp says he wouldn’t trade knowing her for anything. Wendy suggests they should write messages for their families just in case. Tripp says they have nothing to write on or with, so they’ll just have to trust that their families know they are thinking of them and love them. Wendy brings up that her parents already lost Li, so she’s their only child and she’s scared that they won’t be able to deal with it. Wendy points out that Tripp is Ava’s only child too. Tripp acknowledges that Ava has already been through so much with losing her other son. Tripp says right now, he’s feeling pretty religious and suggests that they both pray that their parents don’t have to suffer any more than they already have.

Ava waits outside the prison.

Clyde compliments John and Steve on their plan as they dress him up in a uniform and gas mask and get him out of his cell.

Lani asks Paulina how they can help. Paulina says she needs to talk to Abe so Chanel decides they will go get coffee and exits with Lani. Paulina tells Abe that she can feel herself slipping away. Abe tells her not to talk like that and to be positive as he declares that he won’t let her go. Abe cries that he loves her so much. Paulina asks Abe to promise to take care of her girls. Abe promises to look out for Chanel, Lani, Eli, Johnny, Jules, and Carver. Abe declares that he won’t let her down. Paulina repeats that she’s tired as Abe breaks down crying.

Wendy talks about how she was dreading going to the dentist tomorrow but now she wishes she could make that appointment. Wendy feels she took everything for granted. Tripp feels he did too and brings up times that he turned Steve down when he invited him over to watch a game or when Joey wanted to hangout. Wendy praises Tripp as a son and brother but Tripp feels he could’ve done better. Wendy talks about her parents wanted her to get married young and have kids but she pushed back against anyone telling her how to live her life. Wendy admits that she does want to get married and have kids, just on her own time. Wendy declares that she wanted to be a mom and a wife but now she’ll never get the chance, so Tripp asks her to marry him right now.

Ava waits at the airfield as John and Steve arrive with Clyde. Clyde praises Ava and admits he wasn’t sure she could pull this off. Ava asks where her son is. Clyde says all in good time. Steve argues that they broke him out, so now Clyde has to keep his end up and tell them where Tripp is. Clyde says not yet which upsets Ava. Ava then pulls out a gun as the two men who helped with the prison escape appear alongside her with guns. John questions what she’s doing as Ava declares that they are going to do this her way.

Chanel and Lani sit together in the hospital. Chanel cries that she can’t believe that this happening is Paulina just got through cancer, her surgery was a success and she was supposed to be out of the woods. Chanel says they were all so happy and Paulina was recovering, doing fine. Lani recalls Paulina seeming indestructible when she was little. Lani talks about having no idea that Paulina was going through Hell in an abusive marriage and being forced to give up her child. Lani brings up when she first found out that Paulina was her biological mother and she was so upset at her for keeping it from her but she knows it was done to protect her. Lani states that Paulina sacrificed her own happiness for her. Chanel points out that Lani would do the same for her children. Lani worries that her babies are going to grow up without their grandmother and they are too little to remember her. Chanel worries that her future kids won’t know her at all. Chanel asks what they are going to do since Paulina is the one person who loves them no matter what. Lani adds that no matter how many mistakes they’ve made, their mother still loves them. They agree that they are so lucky and declare that luck better not run out as they hug.

Abe asks if Paulina can hear him as she falls back asleep. Abe thanks her for giving him the best years of his life. Abe wishes he could remember all the times they had together, but instead he got to fall in love with her all over again. Abe tells Paulina that he loves her and always will.

Tripp and Wendy exchange vows. Tripp talks about finding the one in Wendy and that’s why past relationships didn’t work out. Tripp talks about being able to completely be himself and feel accepted by her. Tripp vows to love and cherish her.

Ava tells John and Steve that this is where they get off. John warns that she doesn’t want to do this while Steve calls it a big mistake. Ava declares that it’s the only way to save her son. Ava then orders the two men to take John and Steve back to Salem so they escort them away. Ava asks Clyde one last time where her son is. Clyde calls that an ace move and says it seems Ava is the only one who gets it. Clyde tells Ava that he appreciates her stopping John and Steve from double crossing her but says he still doesn’t trust her. Clyde says that once he is in the air, he will call her and tell her where Wendy and Tripp are. Ava points her gun at him and says that’s not going to work for her.

Chanel says she has to pull herself together before they go back in to see Paulina. Lani says that Paulina knows they are scared and they can’t fool her. Chanel calls it so messed up and wrong that their wonderful mother is in there dying while horrible people get to live. Lani calls life unfair and you have to play the cards you’ve been dealt. Lani encourages Chanel not to lose hope. Lani cries that if they lose their mom, they will have each other to be the strong, fierce, and powerful women that Paulina has shown them to be.

Abe tells Paulina that they need more time to make new memories. Abe knows he’s being selfish and says if she’s too tired to fight, it’s okay and that they will try to get along without her as he knows that’s what she would want. Abe cries that they will take care of each other as he holds Paulina’s hand.

Wendy begins her vows to Tripp. Wendy calls him her best friend and praises his qualities. Wendy says they are friends, lovers, and now husband and wife. Wendy vows to love and cherish him as they kiss.

John and Steve are escorted back to the park in Salem. Steve says this wasn’t part of the plan while John says they shouldn’t be surprised that Ava double crossed them and that it’s just like the Chicago case.

Clyde warns Ava that if she kills him, she’ll never find Tripp. Ava responds that Clyde will live but he’ll walk real funny for awhile and won’t be able to have any more kids. Ava asks where her son is. Clyde thinks he’s probably halfway to Heaven by now. Rebecca, the former Officer Goldman, then appears and grabs Ava from behind, stealing her gun and sending Ava in to Clyde.

Chanel asks Lani if they should go back in now. Lani suggests giving Abe and Paulina more time. Lani decides they should go to the chapel to say a prayer for Paulina. Chanel and Lani say they love each other.

Abe holds Paulina’s hand as she imagines someone appearing in the room.

Wendy and Tripp get weak and wonder how much time they have left. They agree to get married for real if they get out of here.

John and Steve charge the two men who were holding them at gunpoint.

Clyde and Rebecca Goldman kiss after they tie Ava up. Clyde declares that they are going to drive off in to the sunset. Clyde tells Ava that he’ll be thinking of her as he travels down the road to freedom. Ava asks Clyde not to do this and offers anything he wants if he just tells her where Tripp is. Clyde says he’s sorry. Ava shouts that she will kill him, hunt him down to the ends of the earth and slit his throat. Clyde says adios while Rebecca tells Ava not to bother even looking for her son because she made sure he’s good and dead. Ava screams as Rebecca follows Clyde out.

Theresa goes to visit Tate and asks how he’s holding up. Tate swears that he’s barely holding on. Theresa mentions hearing that Brady spoke to Nicole. Tate complains about Holly not remembering anything from that night. Theresa encourages that they are not giving up and will clear his name. Tate was so sure that Holly would tell the truth that he did not give her those drugs. Theresa points out that his family believes him. Tate complains that he’s still stuck here with no way out and asks what he’s going to do. Theresa responds that she has a plan.

Eric goes to the DiMera Mansion where Nicole answers the door. Eric welcomes her back and hugs her. Eric asks about Holly. Nicole says she’s very excited for his visit but notes that she’s a little upset that she can’t remember anything about New Year’s Eve. Nicole adds that Holly is on the mend and getting stronger every hour. Eric calls that fantastic and asks how Italy was for her. Nicole says she was mostly back and forth between the hospital and her hotel room. Nicole asks about his photography business. Eric says it’s great and picking up but his main focus has been on parenthood. Eric tells Nicole that he’s really happy to see her.

Leo goes to Sloan’s apartment. Sloan says she’s going to regret this but she’s desperate for a babysitter and he’s her last resort. Sloan says she went through every contact in her phone, Eric’s family, and the neighbors but no one else was available. Leo talks about coming prepared. Sloan says she’s going to meet a new client and will hopefully be back in a few hours before Eric gets home. Leo reminds her that he doesn’t work cheap. Sloan remarks that he’s been draining her dry for weeks as she then exits.

John and Steve go over a map of the prison as Ava calls her cousin Angelo, asking if he can make this happen as Tripp doesn’t have much time. Ava says she owes him big as she hangs up. John tells Ava that he’s sorry this situation has put her in this position. Ava says so much for vowing to never work with her family again. Steve asks if they are in then. Ava confirms that Angelo and his team will do their part. Steve asks what it cost her.

Nicole brings Eric to see Holly. Holly excitedly hugs him and says she’s so glad he’s there. Eric says he’s so happy to see her awake as they were pretty scared for awhile. Holly can’t believe she was out for two months. Eric encourages her being on the mend. Nicole says Sarah ran tests, so Holly is on track. Eric calls her their little miracle.

Tate asks what Theresa’s plan is. Sloan arrives and introduces herself to Tate. Theresa reveals that Sloan has agreed to take over Tate’s case. Tate asks what happened to Justin. Theresa says that Justin is knee deep in defending Xander from attempted murder charges and he’ll help later if he can so she went outside of the Kiriakis family because she wants to get Tate home to his family where he belong as soon as possible. Sloan states that they plan to take a somewhat novel approach.

Ava says her family is doing this as a one time favor, but if it comes back to bite her, she’ll deal with it when the time comes. John says they need the connections to get inside the prison. Steve declares that whatever it takes, Tripp and Wendy have to be saved. Ava says that Angelo and the family are only one part of the plan while it’s up to them to take care of the rest.

Jude wakes up crying so Leo goes to get the bottle of formula to feed him but that doesn’t work so Leo takes his temperature and finds that he is fine. Leo then realizes he may have to change the diaper.

Tate tells Sloan everything that happened on New Year’s Eve. She asks if he can remember any small detail that he may have left out but Tate assures that’s everything. Theresa asks if Sloan thinks she can help. Sloan says she does but thinks they should go over the challenges first. Sloan says that EJ’s case is multi-circumstantial but it doesn’t help that Tate delayed calling for help or lied to a police officer at first. Theresa argues that Tate was scared, confused, and just trying to help Holly. Sloan says she understands but the question is if the jury will understand if it goes to trial.

Nicole says she has to go schedule Holly’s next appointment and tells Holly and Eric to keep talking as she exits the room. Eric tells Holly about visiting her in the hospital every day and praying until Nicole took her to Italy. Holly asks if anyone else was there. Eric says there was pretty much everyone at some point. Holly feels she has a lot to catch up on. Eric brings up Nicole saying she’s having trouble remembering what happened on the night she overdosed. Holly confirms that. Eric asks if she thinks maybe someone slipped drugs in her cup. Holly supposes it’s possible but claims she doesn’t know. Eric points out that Holly would play with her hair when she got nervous or afraid that she might get in trouble. Holly calls that a long time ago. Eric questions what Holly isn’t telling him.

John, Steve, and Ava go over the prison map. Ava goes over their list of supplies and says everything is in order. John says he and Steve will handle transportation. Ava adds that Angelo will have a plane prepared for immediate flight. Steve thinks they are ready to go. Ava declares that tonight, they break in to prison.

Leo successfully changes Jude’s diaper and then picks him up to rock him to sleep while telling him a story. Leo tells the story of delivering Jude on the side of the road and how his mother got to hold him briefly. Leo says he doesn’t know how the story ends but assures that Jude will always be protected. Leo gets emotional at Jude smiling.

Holly tells Eric that New Year’s Eve is all just a blur and she really wishes she could remember what happened. Holly asks how Jude is doing. Eric shows her some pictures as Nicole rejoins them. Eric mentions Jude’s upcoming Christening and wanting Holly and Nicole to both be there. Nicole says if Holly’s doctors say it’s fine then she can come. Holly assures that she can’t wait. Eric says he hasn’t made an official date yet but it will be a small family gathering with a reception at the Brady Pub. Nicole offers to hold the reception here at the DiMera Mansion. Eric feels it’s too much to ask but Nicole insists that she’d love to, especially since he held the date for them. Eric says the Pub is fine but Nicole and Holly disagree. Eric then admits that he doesn’t think Sloan would be on board. Nicole asks if he’s sure, arguing that they are both parenting and working full time so it would be a huge load off for someone else to plan it. Nicole adds that closing the Pub would take away business from Roman. Holly insists it would be really cool to hold it here. Nicole adds that Holly wouldn’t have to leave home while recovering and insists that she would really like to do this for him. Nicole suggests maybe it could help make things right between her and Sloan. Eric then agrees that it’s a great offer and he will let Sloan know.

Tate questions if Sloan thinks this is going to trial. Theresa argues that it cannot go to trial. Sloan says that’s her hope but EJ is district attorney. Sloan says she’s beaten EJ before and negotiated plea deal but this case is personal to him. Tate argues that they just need to get Holly to tell the truth. Sloan says it will be very hard to prove Tate’s innocence unless Holly admits it was her drugs. Theresa encourages going after Holly for that but Tate argues that she is his friend. Theresa questions if a friend would let him go down for a crime he didn’t commit. Sloan says she will pursue every angle but does think they should consider another option which Theresa questions. Sloan suggests she could offer a plea deal which could be a light sentence and before he knows it, he’d be free to go home. Tate argues that he doesn’t want a plea deal or a light sentence because he did nothing wrong and tried to stop Holly from doing drugs.

John and Steve decide it’s time to go. John says he will get the supplies while Steve says he will get the unmarked vehicle to transport Clyde out of prison. Ava says she will meet them at the airfield. Steve reminds John that they need to stop by the office for that special equipment which Ava questions. Steve says it’s everything they need to interrogate Clyde about Tripp and Wendy’s location. John says they will make it look like they are busting Clyde out but Steve reveals they’re not really going to let him go which Ava disagrees with.

Leo dresses up as a rapper and raps the ABCs for Jude. Eric comes home and applauds him. Eric asks if he’s alone and where Sloan is. Leo informs him that she’s out with a client. Eric realizes that Leo is babysitting and reveals that Sloan didn’t tell him that she called Leo or else he would’ve been there. Leo assures Eric that Jude has been fed, burped, and changed. Jude laughs which Eric acknowledges as Leo says they’ve had a connection ever since he came in to his life. Leo tells Eric that he has a special baby boy.

Nicole and Holly plan the reception for Jude’s Christening. Holly says she will be in charge of music, joking about Nicole being a Billy Joel fan. Nicole says it will be so great to have a celebration since there’s been so much sadness lately. Nicole talks about Eric’s pictures of Jude being adorable. Holly tells her to try not to go there. Nicole says sometimes those feelings come flooding back about what happened to her little brother and to Holly. Holly says she’s back now. Nicole cries that she doesn’t know what she would’ve done if she lost her as they hug.

Theresa tells Tate that Sloan went to make a call to get the ball rolling. Tate doesn’t get why they have to plea guilty when he’s innocent. Theresa calls it a tactic to get him out sooner because EJ will drag this out. Tate argues that Holly could come around and tell the truth when she remembers. Theresa says they don’t know if that’s going to happen and they can’t wait around for the possibility so they have to do whatever is best to get him out. Tate questions if Holly even knows where he is or that he was arrested, beat up in jail, and then shoved in to a halfway house. Theresa admits she doesn’t know but she will find out. Sloan then comes back and asks to speak with Theresa. When Theresa steps aside with Sloan, Tate notices that she left her phone behind. Sloan informs Theresa that she will be filing a formal complaint with the judge to try to get EJ removed from the case due to bias and not being objective. Theresa says that would be great. Sloan admits it’s a long shot but there’s a chance. Theresa comments on EJ seeming to have a strong pull with the judges. Sloan says she will need Tate to stay strong and sharp in case this goes to trial.

Ava asks if John and Steve have any idea how insane it is to try and double cross Clyde Weston. Ava questions how Steve could even think of risking Tripp’s safety like this. Steve argues that he’s doing it for Tripp’s safety. Steve asks what if Clyde takes off and doesn’t give Tripp back. Steve says he is not willing to take that risk so they will hold Clyde’s feet to the fire until he gives up Tripp’s location as that’s the only way this is going to work. Ava tells Steve that he’s out of his mind. Ava argues that Clyde is sharp as a tack and knows what he’s doing. Ava brings up Clyde’s track record since being in prison including a police detective being gunned down, the fire at the Horton house, and scattering drugs around town. Steve insists that they know what they are dealing with. Ava reminds him that Clyde has already broken in and could be listening to them right now. John says he swept the place for bugs when they first came in and assure that with their training, no one will follow them. Ava feels that’s not enough. Ava argues that Clyde will find a way to screw them if they don’t do exactly what he wants. Ava worries that if they defy Clyde in any way, he will seek revenge. Ava asks them to please just let Clyde go. Ava declares it’s the price they have to pay to save Tripp. Steve knows Clyde has been doing a number on her lately and she’s been on pins and needles for months but feels she’s not thinking clearly because she’s been under pressure. Steve argues that they can’t let Clyde go after everything he’s done to half the people in town. John agrees that they can’t let Clyde go free and had to alter the plan. Ava accuses them of being in cahoots behind her back. Steve says they will do the plan as they laid out but when they get to the airfield, they will let Clyde know that he will have to let Tripp go or the night will end very bad. John insists that Clyde won’t know what hit him.

Nicole tells Holly that she should be talking to her therapist about this instead of her since Holly’s been through enough as it is. Holly says it’s okay as she knows how hard it’s been and that Nicole has been through a lot too. Nicole talks about watching Holly in a coma every day and not knowing if she would come back to them. Nicole admits she worried about Holly not remembering anything like Abe. Nicole is grateful for all the support from EJ and Eric, saying she really leaned on them. Holly encourages that Nicole is a strong survivor all on her own. Holly states that she’d really like to not think about New Year’s Eve and what happened at the party anymore. Nicole understands and says they will leave the past where it belongs.

Theresa tells Sloan that this has been so hard on Tate, emotionally and rough for the whole family Theresa informs Sloan that she fell off the wagon but now she’s committed to her sobriety and all she cares about is being there for her son, so she doesn’t want this to damage him or mess up his future. Sloan relates to her brother Colin being locked up in prison and even though he was guilty, she still wishes she could’ve saved him from the mistakes he made. Sloan can’t guarantee the outcome for Tate but promises to do everything she can to help. Theresa thanks her. Sloan senses that Tate is a good kid and agrees to do everything they can to get him home. Tate then steals Theresa’s phone from the table while they are talking. Theresa tells Tate that she’ll see him tomorrow and let him know what Sloan finds out from the judge. Theresa encourages Tate not to be upset about Holly and to stay positive. Tate assures that he will never give up. Theresa then takes her purse and exits.

Eric talks to Leo about when he was a baby as Sloan then comes home. Sloan starts to explain to Eric but Eric says he understands Leo was babysitting and actually did a great job, getting Jude to smile and laugh. Leo thinks Jude remembers him. Sloan says that’s great but notes that they are both home now so Leo can go and she’ll just pay him but Eric suggests Leo can stick around since they don’t have any plans. Sloan says she’s sure Leo has plans but Leo says he’s free so Sloan decides she’ll get a glass of wine. Eric informs Sloan that Nicole offered to host an after party at the DiMera Mansion as an olive branch. Leo calls Nicole the sweetest and says the DiMera Mansion is the perfect venue.

Ava agrees to do it Steve and John’s way, deciding she just wants her son back and then doesn’t give a damn what happens to Clyde. Steve assures they have everything they need to handle Clyde. John declares that first, they have a prison to break in to. Steve tells Ava that they will be in touch within the hour. Steve and John then exit.

Tate pulls out Theresa’s phone and unlocks it, using his birthday as her password. Tate realizes that he doesn’t know Holly’s number and decides to try social media.

Nicole and Holly continue to plan the reception. Nicole thinks Sloan and Eric will love it and she can’t wait. Nicole says she will go get what they need and tells Holly to text her if she needs anything. Nicole then exits. Holly gets a notification on her phone and questions why Theresa would be sliding in her DMs. Holly says to herself that she has no time for her as she has a party to plan and then exits the room.

Sarah takes care of Victoria in the interrogation room until Xander is brought in to see them. Xander comments on how much he’s missed them.

Brady walks through the town square and gets a call from Tate, saying he was just checking in and seeing when Brady will get there. Brady responds that it will be about an hour and that he’s bringing a big surprise which he assures will be good as they hang up. Nicole walks by while finishing a call with Holly and stops to greet Brady. Brady asks how Holly is. Nicole reveals that she’s awake and out of her coma. Brady is shocked and asks when it happened. Nicole says it was just yesterday. Brady asks if she’s alert and talking. Nicole confirms that she is and that doctors are hopeful that she will make a full recovery. Brady says that’s what they’ve been praying for but admits he’s a little confused because of how important this is to Tate and questions why Nicole didn’t call him to tell him that Holly was alert and talking.

Chad goes to the Brady Pub where Roman presents him his orders to go. Chad tells Roman that he, Julie, and Stephanie are meeting at the Horton house. Roman asks what’s going on there. Chad explains that Julie needs to make a list of everything that can be salvaged and the contractors are there. Roman decides to join the cause and leaves the Pub with Chad.

At the Horton house, Julie tells Stephanie how grateful she is for her help. Stephanie says she’s happy to help in any way she can. Julie knows it’s a difficult time for her since Everett came by and they got to talking. Stephanie brings up Everett being Jada’s ex-husband, Bobby Stein. Julie says that Bobby told her what a painful and confusing experience this is for him and it’s clear to her that Everett cares for Stephanie deeply. Stephanie says the rebuild here is going to take a lot longer than a day so they better get started.

Everett goes to see Marlena in her office. Marlena asks if he’s still going by Everett. Everett insists that is his name and if she doesn’t believe him then he can’t go through with this. Marlena says she does believe he is Everett Lynch but thinks they need to explore the idea of who Bobby Stein is and why he can’t access those memories. Marlena says they are here to help him do that. Marlena asks how he is feeling today. Everett talks about trying to calm himself down on the way over because he knows she will be impartial and non judgmental. Everett admits he’s never been so terrified in his life of what he might learn about himself and his past. Marlena calls that understandable but assures that all she wants to do is help him. Marlena mentions accessing some of his medical records which say he suffered a traumatic brain injury and that he was in a medically induced coma for a year. Marlena asks what some of his first memories were after being brought out of the coma. Everett felt like he was in a fog and everything was fuzzy. Everett recalls seeing the nurse go in and out of the room and then a doctor came to ask him questions to determine how lucid he was. Everett remembers the first question being what is your name and he told him that it was Everett Lynch, because that’s who he is.

Julie agrees with Stephanie that it will take more than a day to restore the house. Julie says she has to go talk to the carpenters outside as they are giving her an estimate. Julie asks Stephanie to go upstairs and check on the guy cleaning the walls. Julie mentions Doug wanting her to check the closet in the back bedroom where he kept his music archives from over the years. Julie prays that it made it through the fire unscathed because those are some of Doug’s best memories. Julie remarks that she hopes Everett regains his memory too, noting that Marlena is going to try to help him with that. Stephanie hopes she succeeds as much as that scares her.

Brady asks if Nicole understands how they have been waiting desperately for Holly to be able to set the record straight about what happened the night she overdosed as Tate’s life hangs in the balance and he’s living in a halfway house because he’s been falsely accused. Nicole gets offended and says they are focusing on Holly’s well being and getting better after she almost died. Brady says he’s relieved for Holly but he’s worried about his son too and asks when she’s going to talk to Holly about the drugs. Nicole responds that they already talked to her about it and she’s afraid that Brady is not going to be happy about what she had to say.

Xander thanks Sarah for bringing Victoria. Sarah says they were missing him but hopefully not for too long. Xander asks what she means. Sarah reveals that Harris Michaels is awake and recovering in the hospital. Xander asks if he said who shot him. Sarah says not yet, but he will.

Marlena asks Everett to tell her about some of his earliest memories as a child. Everett recalls his mother baking him a birthday cake shaped like an F1 racing car when he was three. Everett says that his mother was beautiful, kind, and her mantra was to just be nice.

Stephanie brings out a box of clothes that survived the fire while Julie finds one of Doug’s vinyl records. Chad arrives with Roman, surprising Julie. Chad says they brought milkshakes and breakfast sandwiches. Roman says he’s ready to pitch in and asks where Julie needs him. Chad says he is too. Julie calls them kind and wonderful. Roman and Chad agree they are grateful to be part of this effort. Chad takes the box of clothes to be taken to the laundromat. Julie asks how lucky she is to have family and friends like them as she hugs Stephanie and Roman.

Brady asks Nicole why he won’t like what Holly said. Nicole explains that Holly is still a little unclear about what happened that night but she said they were not her drugs so they believe that someone slipped her the drugs. Brady asks Nicole to tell him right now that she doesn’t think it was his son. Nicole responds that EJ wonders who else would have motive and opportunity. Brady insists that Tate would not push drugs on a girl to take advantage of her, regardless of what EJ thinks. Brady talks about Tate having an aversion to drugs because of his parents addictive history. Nicole complains that she doesn’t know what to believe as it’s a lot to take in but she knows she needs to get home to her daughter. Brady stops her and says she needs to understand that his son went to jail because he found her daughter passed out on the loading dock and panicked like any 16 year old kid would. Brady adds that Tate told him that the drugs weren’t his and he believes him because he’s a good person. Brady brings up Holly being foggy about what happened while Tate has been clear since the day it happened. Brady declares that he wants to talk to Holly but Nicole says that’s not going to happen. Brady asks why not. Nicole repeats that they are focused on Holly’s healing and they can’t allow anything to disrupt that. Brady argues that his kid’s life hangs in the balance and this could jeopardize his entire future. Brady says that Tate isn’t lying while Nicole says Holly isn’t either. Nicole says maybe when Holly feels stronger, they can all sit down and talk but she can’t make any promises as to when that will happen. Nicole tells Brady that she’s sorry but she has to go and walks away.

Julie tells Stephanie, Chad, and Roman to keep an eye out for any type of key for the time capsule. Chad explains to Stephanie how Thomas found it in the fireplace. Roman wonders what Alice put in there since it was over 50 years ago. Julie shows them a picture of the time capsule. Chad and Roman joke about what might be inside. Julie hopes it’s something that brings joy to the maximum .

Marlena states that Everett obviously has positive memories of his mother. Everett admits he does but he hasn’t thought about her in a long time. Marlena asks if he’d like to explore that relationship. Everett says maybe next session as he just wants to focus on figure out who Bobby Stein is. Marlena brings out a file that Jada sent over which says his name is Robert Everett Stein and that his mother’s maiden name was Lynch. Everett says that makes sense since it’s his middle name and his mother’s name. Marlena asks if he has any idea why he chose those names. Everett says no. Marlena asks what he can tell her about his father. Everett says that nothing comes to mind and that he’s blanking on his own father. Everett asks if that’s because of his brain injury after the accident which Marlena assumes it is. Everett questions if anyone in an accident just forgets their father, asking why he would just completely obliterate him from his mind.

Xander asks if Sarah thinks Harris hasn’t said who shot him because he didn’t see the person or he doesn’t remember. Sarah says that Harris says he doesn’t remember. Xander wonders if he will ever remember. Sarah says it’s hard to say. Xander worries that it makes no difference since the cards are stacked against him, especially if Harris never says it wasn’t him. Sarah feels there’s another way to look at it and that’s that Harris can’t say it was him either.

Brady brings Tate donuts from the Bakery. Tate says he has something to show him and asks Brady for his phone. Tate explains that it’s an app to stream the Premier League. Brady says that sounds great but not right now because there’s something important he needs to tell him. Brady then informs Tate that Holly is awake.

Nicole goes home to the DiMera Mansion where Holly is in the living room. Nicole says she’s surprised to see Holly out of her room as she brings her donuts from the bakery. Nicole mentions running in to Brady and says they chatted a bit about what happened on New Year’s. Nicole says that Brady is a devoted father and loves his son so much, so he refuses to believe that Tate’s the one who gave her the drugs. Holly responds that Tate didn’t.

Stephanie, Chad, Julie, and Roman search the Horton house. Stephanie finds a half dollar. Julie comments on the house being full of treasures. Julie suggests she and Roman go through the discarded furniture in the backyard to see what can be salvaged. Stephanie tells Chad that she loves Julie’s attitude as she is one strong woman. Chad says Julie can turn a sad situation into a treasure hunt. Stephanie adds that Julie has been so kind about what she’s going through as well and encouraged her to open up about it. Chad agrees that she should and says she can with him if she wants to. Stephanie decides that she does and she doesn’t because it’s hard for her to broach that subject with him. Chad says he’ll do it then and asks where things stand with her and Everett.

Marlena asks if Everett wants to stop here since this has been a lot to take in and suggests they pick it up next week. Marlena asks if he would be willing to try hypnosis. Everett agrees if she thinks it will help. Marlena goes to schedule it. Everett gets a text from Stephanie, saying she hopes all goes well with Marlena and that she’s helping Julie at the Horton house, asking if they can talk later. Marlena tells Everett that they are good for the same time next week and encourages him to just be patient and gentle with himself. Everett agrees to do his best and thanks her for everything as he then exits.

Tate asks Brady if Holly is going to be okay. Brady says apparently so as she is fully conscious. Tate calls it a miracle and asks if she told everyone what happened on New Year’s Eve and that the drugs weren’t his. Brady responds that unfortunately, she didn’t.

Nicole questions Holly saying that Tate was not the one who gave her the drugs. Holly repeats that he wasn’t and questions why she would even think that. Nicole goes over how he was her date and with her all night, so he was the likely culprit. Nicole asks who else would’ve slipped her those drugs and why. Holly says she doesn’t know but she knows Tate would never do something like that.

Sarah insists to Xander that if Harris’s memory was wiped from that night, then he can’t implicate him. Xander assures that he wasn’t there. Sarah tells him that she believes him and wouldn’t bring Victoria to visit him if she didn’t. Xander admits he’s starting to get pessimistic as his cell is getting to him. Xander calls her the most loving and supportive partner. Xander says he can’t wait to come home to her and Victoria. Sarah promises not to go back to their apartment until he’s with them, but notes that it’s chaotic at the Kiriakis Mansion with Doug, Julie, Chad and the kids staying there. Sarah brings up that Konstantin is also still there. Xander admits he’s not crazy about Sarah and Victoria being around Konstantin.

Chad tells Stephanie nevermind since it’s none of his business what happened between her and Everett. Chad knows it was a tough time for them when they broke up and went their separate ways while now this. Chad tells her that she deserved better from he and Everett. Chad says if the timing was different and he wasn’t coming off losing his wife, he’d like to believe it would’ve worked out for them. Chad jokes that they will always have the ring toss at six flags where she won the gigantic teddy bear for Charlotte. Chad says it wasn’t Paris, but they have fun. Stephanie agrees that it was great and she was happy to hang out with his kids. Stephanie calls them some pretty good memories. Chad adds that if Stephanie ever does want to talk or vent, he’s there for her or if she ever wants to hang out with him and the kids. Stephanie admits she would like that. Chad calls her a good person and says he’s really grateful for her. Stephanie says she’s grateful for him too. Chad and Stephanie hug as Everett appears and sees them, but then quickly exits.

Nicole tells Holly that she shouldn’t have brought it up as she should be focusing on relaxing. Holly questions how she can relax when she just told her that she and EJ think it was Tate that gave her the drugs. Nicole questions who else could have given her those drugs. Holly flashes back to the party and trying to convince Tate to do the drugs.

Tate insists to Brady that the drugs were Holly’s. Brady assures that he and Theresa believe him but asks how to prove it if Holly won’t admit it. Brady asks if Tate has anything. Tate admits he only has his word so it’s his word against her word.

Nicole apologizes to Holly again for bringing this up. Holly says it’s all just a blur but she knows Tate would never force her to take anything. Nicole asks again who would’ve given her those pills. Holly shouts that she doesn’t know. Nicole says she hates to see her so hurt. Holly says she’s fine and storms out as she heads back upstairs.

Xander asks if Sarah has everything she needs and assumes Maggie is taking excellent care of her which Sarah confirms. Sarah promises to steer clear of Konstantin and says she knows they will be back in their apartment soon as they hug. Xander tells Victoria to take extra good care of Sarah. Xander promises that he will be back home as soon as the Gods smile down on him, which he’s praying will be very soon.

Chad tells Stephanie that when they broke up, he was worried that they would never get to this place that they are at now. Stephanie admits she was too but she’s glad they’ve gotten close again because the friendship is very important to them. They agree that they never want to jeopardize it. Chad offers to walk her home. Stephanie says he doesn’t have to but Chad says he would like to.

Everett stands outside the Horton house looking upset.
