Well, you know, maybe I’m trying to be a little more spontaneous in my old age. So, uh… what brings you here? Well, I know I shouldn’t be asking this, but… I need a favor that only you can do for me. Hey, anna. Hi. Oh, there you are. Hello. Appreciate you meeting me. Yeah. Sure. Yeah. I have to say, I was a bit surprised by the invite. You know, I’ve been looking out for you since the shooting at the metro court. Yeah. I appreciate that. I’m being very cautious. I mean, I keep hoping diane’s gonna call and tell me that she’s figured out some kind of loophole to stop drew from going back there, but… and you know that we’re looking into the judge to see if we can find some kind of bias, but that seems to be a long shot. So, I don’t know. Yeah, she’s doing everything she can. There’s nobody more tenacious than diane. The girls are in school. You know that. So, you must be here to see me. You guessed right. Okay. Please tell me this isn’t bad news. Please. Well, it — it kind of depends on your perspective. That’s cryptic. What’s going on? Uh, nina and i are eloping.

Other than the recent disturbing events? No. And nothing has happened in the last 24 hours since I’ve had protection. And, so you’re living in the metro court? Yeah. Until I move into the new place. Valentin has bought a house for us. Uh, w-wait. When did you go house hunting? I didn’T. He bought the house on his own. Heh. Eh, well, he could have at least made you part of the process.
[ Chuckles ] Unless, of course, you think he’s hiding something. He’s always hiding something. But the house isn’t part of that. You know, this was really meant to be a surprise. Mm. And he is nothing if not full of those.
[ Chuckles ] Yeah, he certainly is. How’d it go with sonny? How did you know he was — you know, esme has to quit sharing every visitor that comes into my office. And it’s not that I have anything to hide. It’s just she needs to learn a little discretion. Esme is not to blame. When a notorious coffee importer shows up here, people tend to talk, and usually in hushed tones. Sonny’s good fodder for the water cooler. Mm-hmm. Well, they’re gonna be very disappointed because he just came to ask for a favor. Nothing illegal, I hope. Mnh-mnh. He wanted to see if “the invader” could help leverage judge albert kim. Eh, he’s the judge that sentenced drew cain to three years in pentonville. What outcome is sonny hoping for? Carly thinks the judge’s sentence was unnecessarily harsh, and we’re hoping maybe we could get the sentence reduced or at the very least, have him moved to a safer facility. Just how does sonny suggest you do that? That’s what we have to figure out. Wow. Eloping, huh? What happened to the big blowout wedding you were planning? Well, I wasn’t planning the wedding. I just told nina she could do whatever she wants with the wedding. I know olivia was helping. Was that tough for you? No. I’m a big girl, you know? Olivia can do what she wants, and we’re too close for something like that to bother me. Well, there’s just so many details, and, you know, things like that. A w-wedding should be about a celebration, not a deadline. Just surprising considering all the noise nina was making about, you know, her big wedding celebration. Well, you know what? Uh, we’re just going to fly down to the island. It’s not gonna be a big deal. It’s gonna be a small ceremony. It’s just, uh… me and nina and whatever kids are — are able to go. Kids. That’s why you’re here? Well, I-I would love if donna could go. It would, you know, mean everything, if you’re okay with that.
Nina, I’m lost. I am just totally lost. Charlotte and i used to be so close, and now I feel like I don’t even know her. Yeah. I know. This must be so difficult for you. Not just me. She’s gonna need professional help. I’ve been trying to find her a therapist. Well, it might take you a while to find someone because she’s in a very serious situation, valentin. You’re gonna have to find the doctor who’s the right fit. I’ve always been able to talk to you, haven’t I? I mean, no matter how raw it gets, you understand me, don’t you? Better than anybody. Probably even anna. I don’t know how it got this way. I mean, this is my little girl we’re talking about. We are going to figure this out, okay? Together. Where is charlotte now? She’s on a bike ride. That’s why I’m doing research and making phone calls. So, you haven’t said anything to her? No, I-I-I just don’t know what I would say if she lied to me, if she denied it. Uh, scout’s father, drew — we’re dealing with the fact that he’s behind bars. It’s been tough on her. I mean, my job is — look, you seem more annoyed than sonny did. He — he took this a lot better than you. I-I just think you should come, and I-I think it’s important that we be there to support dad. I agree. But dad knows I support him. We’ve had our ups and downs. He knows — he knows I’m behind him and nina’s relationship. Alright. Well, nothing can keep me away. Well, that’s good. You’ll be representing. [ Exhales sharply ] I wanted to tell you in person. Well, usually when somebody says that, it’s not good news. Well, it’s good news for me, at least. Nina and I are eloping. We’re going down to the island. Oh. Um… well, I-I guess congratulations are in order. Michael, I know times have been tough this past year, but I think we’ve moved past that, haven’t we? Yeah, I mean, everything that happened to willow helped me realize how important family is. Yeah, but nina is your family, so, I mean… I know there’s been a strain between you two, but — yeah, that’s an understatement. But she’S… …she’s tried to really make an effort between you and willow, and nothing would make her happier than spending time with amelia and wiley. Look, I-I have to admit, things have been better with nina. You know, she– she’s trying to respect our boundaries. Nothing would mean more to nina than to have willow at that wedding, and it would mean a lot to me to have you there. So, is there any chance that… you’ll go? This is not your fault. I-I-I wish I had the answers. She is a teenage girl, and teenage girls can be very complicated. This is the cassadine curse, isn’t it? None of this godforsaken family gets to be happy. Please, valentin, do not go there. This is — has nothing to do with a curse, okay? You and charlotte are not doomed. She’s an adolescent who got herself into trouble. She’s struggling, but we will get her help. So overwhelming.
[ Sighs ] I’m sure anna’s been supportive. What does she think? I haven’t told her. I mean, how am I going to tell her that my daughter is the one who’s been tormenting her? You know, if charlotte’s the one who set the fire, she’s going to be facing very serious criminal charges. Mm. Well, we just have to be very grateful that no one was in the house. I mean, if charlotte did do this, she made sure of that. Is that supposed to make me feel better? I’m — I’m just making the point, valentin. She’s not trying to hurt anna. She’s not a murderer. She’s just crying out for help. No, it’s more than that. She’s terrorizing the woman that I love, and I’m trying to keep that from escalating, but am I doing the wrong thing by not telling anna? Are you sure you want to get into this? I mean, I’ve heard a lot of stories about people who do sonny’s bidding, and sometimes, it doesn’t end well. You think? I’m very well aware of the “methods” sonny uses to handle things. This time, he would like it handled legitimately. Are you sure you and sonny don’t share any similarities? Why, I think I am offended, professor chase. No. I-I don’t know sonny well, but from what I hear, he has a reputation for ruthlessness. I know firsthand how ruthless you can be when it comes to the pursuit of truth in journalism. Really? Do go on. I’m just saying that y-you’re a force of nature when it comes to business, and that’s — that’s a good thing, by the way. This is really very entertaining, watching you try to dig yourself out of the hole you just dug yourself into. Trying to compliment me after you call me ruthless? That is some fancy footwork. Well, unfortunately, that’s the only footwork I’m still capable of these days.
I know that he wants to make peace with dad. There’s definitely been a lot less tension lately. Yeah, but that’s a far cry from michael attending the wedding. But, you know, they have to start somewhere if they want to get back to where they were. Well, I don’t know if they’ll ever get back to where they were, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction. So, is michael going to the wedding or not? I don’t know. I hope so. But I’ll tell you one thing — I am not excited to be on an island with him and nina for the next few days. Wait, I thought you were team nina? I am. I like nina. A lot. Most importantly, dad loves her, but I haven’t forgotten what she did to michael and willow. That’s some serious damage, and we both know how our brother holds a grudge. Yeah, kind of just like dad. I-I just hope that willow does this for nina, because the — the ceremony wouldn’t be the same without wiley there, right? She wants wiley to be the ring bearer, like he was at your wedding, because he’s — he’s — he’s a pro now. Yeah, yeah. Um… it’s just, uh, willow has a lot going on right now and she — she just got back to work. Uh… I’m not sure she’s gonna want to drop all that and — and get on a plane. Okay, I just — I just want you to think about it. Michael, I heard you were looking for me. Is everything alright? Did something happen with the kids? I just don’t know what to do. We can’t involve the police. No, no, valentin, we are not bringing the police into this. She’s a — she’s a teenager. She’s 15 years old. Okay? If — if — if she did do this and the police find out, they will send her away. No, you cannot let that happen. We’re just gonna — we’re gonna have to handle this ourselves. And how are we gonna do that? We’re gonna find another way to get through to charlotte. Hey. We’re not giving up on her.
[ Chuckles ] You know, I’ve always appreciated your support. Well, even though we went our separate ways, valentin, I will always care about you and charlotte. I love her.
[ Voice breaking ] I don’t know what I’d do without your help. Yeah, about that. Um… well, you’re gonna have to deal with this on your own. That’s why I came by, to tell you. I’m leaving town. So, I think valentin feels that this house is a way for him to focus on his daughter. You know, charlotte, he feels, needs a more stable environment. She’s had a very tough year. Weren’t you telling me that victor is keeping her at a boarding school? Right, and then when she did finally come home, she’s been bouncing from house to house. First it was laura’s, and then it was sam and dante. That’s not to say that they weren’t there for her, but, you know, very supportive, but she’s 15, and along with that age comes anxiety and insecurity. Yeah. Mac was having a problem with robin like that. Charlotte needs her father’s undivided attention. I totally understand that, you know? I think maybe valentin feels providing a house for her is the first step in putting her on more solili meantime, you’re roughing it in a hotel. Well, god, I mean, I don’t call room service roughing it. I thought you didn’t want me with valentin. I don’T. However, you should have the final choice on where you live. Okay, so, why don’t we just agree to disagree when it comes to the subject of my relationship with valentin? Okay. So, I asked you here because I need your help. With? Something crucial.
Uh, I paid alexis a visit and suggested she look into the matter for us. You suggested? Well, I got — you know, pretty much politely demanded, is more of a way of saying it. I told her she needs to use that paper and her investigation skills to look into judge kim, because we have to figure out why he gave drew such a harsh sentence. Sonny, we need to do more than look into judge kim. We’ve got to get the judge to commute drew’s sentence or send him to a safer facility. I mean, does alexis understand that? Okay, alexis knows that the goal is to get drew out of pentonville, but it’s not gonna happen overnight. First thing she needs to do is a deep dive into kim’s record. We have to figure out what makes him vulnerable, and then we have an opening. You think alexis is gonna come through? I am confident that she’ll deliver for us. Sorry. That was meant to be a joke, but clearly it didn’t land. You have every right to handle your disease any way you see fit, and if you want to joke about it, joke about it. Go for it. You don’t have to edit your words with me. I’m gonna follow your lead. I feel like I’m constantly thanking you for being understanding, but thank you again. You don’t need to keep thanking me or apologizing. Well, what’s that quote from that movie? “Friendship means never having to say you’re sorry.” I think that’s “love means…” I just… you just don’t need to keep thanking me. I still haven’t told chase. I know you keep telling me to wait until I’m ready, but when will that be? I can’t keep hiding behind my work here, and I wake up some mornings so determined to go over there and tell him the truth, but then I find myself here instead. And I used to lecture my students about procrastination, tell them putting off that term paper won’t make it any easier. This is a little bigger than a homework assignment. Look, you’re gonna tell chase when you tell chase. I’m just being selfish. I just want more time with my son before he looks at me with pity, only sees the disease and not his father. Well, I think you’re wrong, and I don’t think he’s gonna react that way at all, but — but, you know, you’ll — you’ll do what feels right for you, and I-I’m not judging you. Speaking of judges, how are we gonna handle judge kim? Hey, good to see you again. Nice to see you, too. Oh, dante was my hero at the nurses’ ball. Oh. I don’t like to brag.

Uh, the last time I spoke to nina, she was knee-deep in wedding planning. It sounded like a huge event here in port charles. I guess she changed her mind. Does this mean we get out of going to the wedding?
[ Chuckles ] No, no. No such luck. Um, we’re definitely on the guest list. Sonny wants us to fly down to puerto rico. You’re leaving town? It’s just for a few days. Don’t worry. And I-I feel silly talking about it, given everything that you’re going through, but sonny and I — we’re going to puerto rico. We’re eloping. You’re — you’re eloping? Yeah. I thought you were having a big wedding at the metro court? Yeah, well, that was the plan, but it got complicated, and it was really stressful, and we just want to get married as soon as possible, and the best solution was to have a small ceremony on sonny’s island. He’s got his fair share of enemies. Well, so do I, but I think I’m being targeted in a completely different way. I don’t follow. Alright. After the shooting at the pool, my house was torched, and then my room here was vandalized. Now, what does that tell you? Your enemy’s toying with you. They’re trying to break you down, you know? What do you want to do about that? Charlotte? You didn’t tell me nina was coming over. I was putting my bike away, and I saw her car out front. Oh, I’m so happy to see you. Hey, come here. Alexis: [ Sighs ] Looks like judge kim has a number of high-profile cases. His opinions he wrote for his decision read like bait for a promotion. Can you elaborate on that for those of us that didn’t attend law school? From what I can tell, it seems like he’s trying to impress the judicial board in hopes of a higher appointment. And how does he go about that? Yeah, when judges are trying to climb the ladder, they set new precedents, and they do that with their opinions, and what they want is for those precedents to be appealed and upheld. So, in simpler terms, it looks like judge kim is trying to get the attention from those above him, and if that’s the case, then maybe we can help him do just that. Thank you, for everything you’re doing for drew’s case. Drew’s a good man. He doesn’t deserve what’s happening to him. And, I mean, him being in prison, it affects you, and no matter what has happened between us, you’re the mother of my children. I just want you to be happy. That means a lot. So, from all the research that diane has gathered, it looks like judge kim is hoping for a promotion to the federal bench. I’m thinking he’d be more than happy to meet with the press and cooperate. Yeah, that’s — that’s — that gives alexis a way in. That’s a good strategy. Yeah. It’s all we have for now. Do me a favor. [ Chuckles ] But what I think is this guy is really career-oriented. He wants to get ahead, which means that he’ll be very susceptible to the lure of publicity. And that’s where you come in. We call him in for an interview. We pump him up. We tell him that we’re interested in doing an article about his decisions, take some pictures, and hopefully, he’ll eat it up. And then you go in for the kill and ask him about drew’s sentence. Hmm. Good plan of attack, counselor. Like I said, ruthless. Unfortunately, we have no information on that yet. Uh, we don’t know who’s pulling the strings when it comes to austin and mason. And trailing betty didn’t turn up anything? Well, I had dex watching her every move, thinking that she would lead us to the boss, but, uh, that didn’t happen. We — we have somebody watching austin, and my guys are, you know, doing everything they can until I get back from the wedding. That’s what you should be concentrating on right now. Yeah, I know. And look, I’m gonna have donna all packed and ready to go. Can’t wait to see her face when I tell her. Please take a couple of pictures of her for me, okay? Okay. And let me know if you hear from ava, because she can just bring avery here and you can pick both girls up at the same time. Thanks. That — that means a lot. It’s been a painful couple years. Yeah. [ Door closes ] So, I am flying down to puerto rico later today for my dad’s wedding. Ooh, a destination wedding. How exciting. Well, they’re eloping. Thank god. Dante. What? No, I’m just telling it like it is. I think they’re being smart by — by keeping it a small family ceremony. Why do you say that? Because I feel like if they had a big wedding in port charles, they’d be asking for trouble. This is where you come in. I need your help because I am almost certain that this threat is coming from inside the wsb, someone with access to the bureau’s resources. You think this is the same person who outed you for being a double agent? I don’t know. I have my suspicions. I mean, just look at the timing. Think about it. Well, my actions back then hurt a lot of people. They might want payback. You haven’t been an active operative in years. Does somebody hold a grudge that long? I don’t know. [ Sighs ] Have a nice trip. Fly to an intimate wedding? It would be one thing if it was 200 guests at the metro court. Then we’d be able to blend into the background. But this… yeah, it would just be family, so we’d be front and center. I mean, I know I’ve been pushing you lately to accept nina, but this is a lot. You finally made peace with your dad and nina.
