Recap written by Eva

Faith has a long talk with Tessa and Mariah about love and in the end of the talk she learns that it is worth it to be brave and risk bring hurt if you find the right person.

Chance tells Abby that he feels he is betraying the members of his team if he doesn’t hold on to his guilt over the fact that they all died.

Noah introduces Cindy, a girl he just met, to Sharon and Faith. Cindy freaks out when she meets Tessa and Mariah since she is Tessa’s biggest fan.

Ashland tries to make Victoria believe that Victor set him up and wants her to believe these lies about him. Victoria doesn’t believe Victor set-up Ashland but she is very upset Victor believes these lies about Ashland. Victoria tells Ashland that Victor doesn’t know what she is capable of and he won’t get away with this like he has done with other things in the past.

Nick and Victor try to persuade Nate to help them prove Ashland lied about being sick with cancer. Nate refuses to believe Ashland would do such a horrible thing. Victoria bursts into the Newman Media office and tells Victor that he has gone too far this time and she won’t ever forgive him.

Nick: Alright, I guess we’re both in the dark.

Adam: I mean, if you want me to speculate, I’d be happy to. Victor said he was gonna try to force Ashland’s hand, so he’ll probably try to get him to confess or get him to turn himself in to the police.

Nick: Why would the police get involved? Is faking an illness a terrible and awful thing to do? Yes, but it’s not against the law.

Adam: He used the fabrication to trick Victoria into marrying him — that is fraud.

Nick: Okay, grounds for annulment, but is it a crime? Victoria can invalidate the marriage, but it’s gonna be very difficult for her to get him out of her life for good. He owns half of Newman/Locke.

Adam: Yeah, he went through a lot of trouble and deception to make the merger happen.

Nick: If he goes, it won’t be quietly.

Ashland: It will matter to other people, especially when I start taking on more responsibility. Don’t you see that? That’s why I was so upset on the phone before — because that was the legal department. They were giving me a hard time about — about making a small change on a relatively unimportant matter.

Victoria: Well, who are you dealing with? I will call them, and I will explain the situation.

Ashland: No, no, no. I really don’t want you to do that. I need to be respected on my own right, in this building and out there in the world. And that’s what a title does. It will also send a message that I’m not some sickly old man on his way out.

Victoria: Oh, come on. I think you’re making a big deal out of a very small issue. It’s obvious that you’re the strong, smart businessman that you’ve always been.

Ashland: No. That reputation you just described — I lost that because of the illness. I need to get that back if I’m gonna operate at full capacity. I am proposing that we change my title to co-CEO. Now, we can have a provision in there in case something goes wrong, if my condition changes and I need to step back or, God forbid, step out entirely. But this makes sense. What do you think? Lauren: Oh, my, so much fun. They grow so fast.

Jack: Oh, I know. I feel like I’m missing out on so much.

Lauren: But Summer and Kyle send you pictures.

Jack: Oh, yeah, yeah. We video chat all the time. Last week, Harrison wanted to impress his grandpa Jack with the Italian he’d learned. It was priceless. “Aree-bo-dirtsi.”

Jack: It’s like a breath of fresh air, that kid.

Phyllis: Okay, well, I would have to be fluent in Italian, of course. And I’d be overseeing a bunch of young hot-shots, so I’d be immersed in the fashion industry, and…it’d be challenging.

Jack: You could do it, red.

Phyllis: Oh, I know that, i know that. It’s… do I want to do it? Do I want to? I mean, I could learn everything about the fashion industry, but I don’t know if I want to. It’s a lot to consider.

Jack: Well, you have been saying there’s nothing that ties you to Genoa City any longer.

Phyllis: Yeah, that’s what I’ve been saying. But there is one element that i forgot about — myself. I mean, Genoa City is my home. My life is rooted here. It’s made me the person I am, for better or for worse. And did I want to go to Milan and change me? That was the question.

Jack: Sounds pretty well thought out.

Phyllis: Yeah. It took me going to Italy to figure it out.

Jack: Well, to be honest, before you left, it was everything in me not to tell you exactly the same thing. I figured you had to learn that for yourself or you wouldn’t accept it.

Adam: Our Valentine’s Day celebration did have an extraordinary aspect to it. A rare, um, intensity, something that you would find in an earthquake. Or a tsunami.

Sally: Or a wildfire, consuming everything in its path.

Sally: You took the words right out of my mouth. Although [Clears throat] I do regret a little bit about what happened to the stapler.

[ Laughs ]

Adam: This is… collateral damage. No, but seriously, what’s on your mind? And be honest.

Sally: I just want to make sure that whatever happened here was not a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Adam: Well, I think we both know it wasn’t just a casual hook-up.

Sally: We do?

Adam: I have finally let go enough to be ready for this. I want to be with you.

Sally: [ Chuckles ] Is there any way I can convince you to say that again?

Adam: I want you. What about you? And total, total honesty.

Sally: As tempting as it is, I do not want to continue this if it means we’re gonna be sneaking around. Because I don’t want to be your dirty little secret or your guilty pleasure or anything like that.

Adam: No, neither do I. Okay? I have too much respect for you to think of you like that.

Sally: You “respect” me?

Adam: [ Chuckles ] Are you blushing?

Billy: You know what? I got too much going on right now. So I will sleep when I’m old.

Billy: I appreciate your concern, but really, it’s not a big deal. You know, it just — it feels like lately that’s where I’m getting most of my thinking done, where I’m feeling creative. I don’t know, maybe it’s the darkness, maybe it’s the fact that everyone’s sleeping and it’s actually quiet.

Billy: Maybe that’s why they call it the witching hour, because anything’s possible.

Devon: Aren’t you exhausted when you go to work the next day, though?

Billy: Well, that’s the thing. It can be a little bit tricky, but it’s nice to work from home. Sneak in a little nap once in a while. Who knows, maybe I’ll turn out to be nocturnal.

Devon: [ Laughs ] I don’t know if Lily would like that very much.

Billy: Well, it does have its benefits.

Devon: Does it?

Devon: Yeah, you’re right about that. I mean, it makes the possibilities endless for what we can talk about. And like you said, I mean, i think too, we’re all asking ourselves those big life questions every day, like you’re doing up late at night.

Billy: Yeah, exactly. You know, maybe I’ll start my own podcast.

Devon: That’s not a bad idea.

Billy: Oh, come on.

Devon: It’s not.

Billy: Actually, you know what? It is a good idea because if my midnight musings bore people to tears, we can flip it on its head and use it as a cure for insomnia.

Devon: Oh, come on.

Billy: I’ll acquire a upper-crust British accent and i will talk about my feelings.

Devon: You’re joking. I’m being very serious about it. I really am, ’cause you said that your soul-searching led to a really valuable conversation with Lily, and you could be doing that for a lot of other people on a much wider scale.

Billy: I don’t know about that.

Ashland: Okay, true enough. You probably weren’t anticipating working for your sister and you probably thought that you were gonna be running some independent venture, but I-I assure you, this is a scintillating time to be part of Newman/Locke. Great things are happening.

Adam: Well, you can consider me scintillated.

Ashland: I believe you will look back on this moment and be glad you came aboard when you did.

Adam: Well, I think that goes both ways. I think you and Victoria will look back and be very excited that I stuck around.

Ashland: [ Laughs ] Ooh, well, there’s that famous Newman confidence.

Adam: Hey, I’m just being serious. ‘Cause I actually have a proven track record of success in this field. And I have done a damn good job with Newman Media, and you have not had any complaints about my work.

Ashland: Fair enough, but the situation has changed.

Adam: Yes, but the work remains the same.

Ashland: Still, you are going to have to make some adjustments. You’ve been the — what, the sole decision-maker for a very long time. That’s not the case anymore.

Adam: Yes, I have accepted the fact that my father wants more of a say. And Victoria will occasionally want to weigh in, if, for no other reason, to remind me that she’s the boss.

Ashland: Not just your sister and not just occasionally. Adam. We own the company. We will be charting its course and giving you direction, not the other way around. Now, if you’re not comfortable with that, that’s fine. I would suggest you make a decision and move on.

Billy: Well, this has been very entertaining, trying to watch you take the high road. It’s kind of like watching those videos of cats playing the piano. You can’t really believe what you’re seeing, but you can’t take your eyes off it either.

Sally: Did you just compare me to a piano-playing cat?

Billy: Yeah, I don’t trust cats either. The point I’m trying to make is that Adam cost me my reputation and my job, which is the only reason I put that plan in motion in the first place. And I knew it would work because he loves to see people suffer. Wouldn’t be surprised if he had a fistful of popcorn as he watched the videos that you filmed.

Sally: I don’t know the person you’re describing.

Billy: No? Adam? About yay high, beady, untrustworthy eyes, brown hair to hide his devil horns on his head.

Sally: You’re wrong. Adam felt bad that your life was such a wreck, just like I did.

Billy: Yeah, but you still found the strength to keep filming me.

Sally: I don’t think Adam would have taken advantage of your suffering, which wasn’t real anyway, ’cause you’re obviously fine now. You’ve got this great new gig and you’re happy, which was the whole point of calling off your little scheme, right? To let go of the resentment that was eating you alive, right? Or am I mistaken?

Billy: So much for tip number one on getting a good night’s sleep. Nighty-night. Ahh. Process, reflect, and meditate on your thoughts. Process and reflect. What am I to process? I don’t feel like I have any fears. I don’t feel like there’s anything gnawing at me.

[ Sighs ] Meditate. Yeah. Let me see where that goes. Ahh. Okay.

[ Sighs ] Too lazy to type. Too wired to sleep. So, all you get is the sound of your own soothing voice. Some would say you like the sound of your own voice. Those people would be right. At least I know somebody is listening. Okay, so, how do we start? Who are you?

[ Chuckles ] What are you? Me.

[ Sighs ] You…are a man that had everything… and then lost almost everything.

[ Sighs ] And then you got most of it back except for the one thing that you miss the most — your sweet baby girl Delia. But what about all the other things that you lost? Because you were — because you were being an idiot, because you fought wars for no good reason, because you didn’t acknowledge what you had at the time. That is a tricky one. But that is a recipe for disaster. Have you learned anything? Have you learned anything?

Rey: I can’t imagine what that must have been like, with your mom involving you in all of her criminal activities. That must have been pretty scary for a little kid.

Chelsea: Not really. I didn’t know anything different, you know? It was just…normal. Dodging a bill collector? Sure. Skipping out on rent? Always. Working a con? Absolutely.

[ Laughs ] It was just the way to our next meal. I mean, most parents — they wake up in the morning and they go to work to put food on the table. Not Anita. No, no. Not my mom. She would stay up all night plotting how she was going to sucker some poor, gullible guy out of his hard-earned cash.

Rey: Pschew. Sounds rough, pretty lonely for a child.

Chelsea: [ Sighs ] Yeah. I guess it was. But Anita and I — we were a team. We didn’t have any other friends. We didn’t have any other family. It was just us. And she would remind me of that all the time that we needed to stick together, you know, not let anybody else into our world.

[ Sighs ] All outsiders could not be trusted. “Do unto others before they do unto you.” That was her motto.

Rey: Wow. Talk about imposing a warped sense of the world on a young mind.

Chelsea: I guess I… it wasn’t till I was older that the reality of it all started to set in.
