Recap written by Suzanne

Hope and Carter discuss how Steffy shot down his idea of bringing back the jewelry line with Ivy. Hope urges him to speak to Ridge. He says that Ridge has shot his ideas down in the past. Hope thinks that maybe he’s been too nice. She supports his ideas and says that his voice matters as COO. He’s grateful for her support.

Will and Zende talk briefly about Zende’s new designs. When Zende mentions wanting to talk to Hope about accessories, Will asks him if he means jewelry. Zende hasn’t heard anything about a jewelry line at Forrester, nor has heard about anyone named Electra (which seems strange, since he’s a Forrester). Zende wonders if the young woman, Electra, was teasing Will. He warns Will not to get too distracted by the women there. After Zende leaves, Will has a flashback to meeting Electra.

Steffy and Ridge catch up about how she’s worried about how Carter has been acting, and she tells Ridge about Carter bringing Ivy and Electra there to talk her into reviving the jewelry line. Ridge listens intently as she says that she vetoed the idea. Later, they call Zende in to talk about how the line is failing. He’s enthusiastic about his designs, but Steffy points out that they’re losing buyers.

Hope and Carter arrive; Steffy mentions that she may have to cut Hope For The Future. With Hope’s support, Carter speaks up about moving forward with mergers and acquisitions into a Forrester luxury umbrella. He urges them to think on a grand scale instead of cutting lines. Ridge looks intrigued.

Ivy and Electra visit Eric (Ivy is his niece). They all hug. Electra tells Eric that she’s interested in both fashion and jewelry. After they talk about the jewelry, Eric asks Ivy if she’s been in touch with Quinn. She says she hasn’t. She learned what she needed to from her and has since gone in her own direction. She tells Eric that Steffy vetoed the idea of Forrester bring her and the jewelry line back. Eric thinks that it’s a great idea; he promises to speak to Steffy and Ridge about it. He also invites them to stay, saying that they’re Forresters, and this is their home, too. There are more hugs.

Primetime TV Review: Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage

TV Review!

“Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage Review by Eva 10/20/2024

I miss Young Sheldon, so I was glad to hear that Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) were getting their own show.

Georgie, Mandy and baby CC move in with Mandy’s parents after they get married. Mandy doesn’t get along with her mother Audrey (Rachel Bay Jones) because Mandy’s mother thinks she could have done better than Georgie for a husband and she only married Georgie because he got her pregnant.

A big part of the show is the constant conflict between Audrey and Mandy and how Mandy’s father, Jim ( Will Sasso), tries his best to be the peacemaker between Audrey and Mandy. Georgie is also determined to make Audrey see that he is a good man who loves Mandy very much and would have married her even if she hadn’t gotten pregnant. Young Sheldon fans know that Georgie’s father, George Sr. (Lance Barber), died in the series finale, so Jim becomes a father figure for Georgie, and they have some touching moments in the show. I enjoyed the moments between Jim and Georgie the most.

If you are a fan of Young Sheldon you will enjoy this show very much, but even if you have never seen Young Sheldon, you can still enjoy the show because it stands alone with occasional mentions of characters from Young Sheldon. The audience can get to know Georgie better. I think this show is well written and acted it is worth watching. If you miss it you can stream it on Paramount+.

The show airs on Thursday nights at 8 PM EST/7 PM CST.

I give this show 5 out of 5 stars

Primetime TV Review: Tracker

TV Review!

“Tracker” Review by Eva 10/20/2024

Tracker stars Justin Hartley as Colton Shaw whose father taught him survival skills and now he uses those skills to find missing people. Colton collects the rewards offered by the police or family members only if he finds the missing person. Colton is also trying to figure out how his father died because he doesn’t think his father committed suicide.

I didn’t think I would like the show because I thought it would concentrate too much on Colton’s survival skills, but it really doesn’t show that too much. Colton has a talent for finding people and reuniting them with their family. If you like solving mysteries this show is worth watching.

I give this show a 5 out of 5 stars.

If you want to watch the show, it comes on Sundays at 8 EST/7 CST.

There are occasions when show times may vary because of sports. If you subscribe to Paramount+, the show can be streamed there the next day.

Primetime TV Review: “Matlock”

TV Review!

Kathy Bates as Mattie in "Matlock" on CBS (photo from IMDB)

“Matlock” on CBS Review by Suzanne 10/5/24

I wasn’t sure whether I would like this show or not because I didn’t really care for the original series, starring Andy Griffith. It was just another show, similar to “Diagnosis: Murder” or “Murder She Wrote,” where an older person helps solve crimes in their every-day life.  Of course, “Matlock” was more like “Perry Mason” in that he was a lawyer that would help find the real murderer (so that his client would go free).  It’s basically the same idea, though.

This version of “Matlock” is not really a reboot at all.  The main character is played by a woman (Kathy Bates), and she is not what she seems, which we find out at the end of the first episode. Bates is always fascinating to watch, and she really excels here because the writing is top-notch.  She mentions the original show “Matlock” many times, so we know that this is not set in the original show’s “universe.”  What they’ve done with it is very interesting, though, and anyone who stays through the end of the first episode will figure that out.

Besides the great lead actress, there is a wonderful cast of people, including Beau Bridges, Jason Ritter, Skye P. Marshall, David Del Rio and Leah Lewis. There are some fun guest stars each week as well. I can’t wait to see what else they do with this series. Do yourself a favor and tune in ASAP because this is already the best new show of the Fall season.

Recap written by Suzanne

Taylor doesn’t believe Grace’s diagnosis of Broken Heart Syndrome. Grace explains that motional stress can cause damage to heart muscle, and it can be linked to estrogen dropping. She lists all of the symptoms, which Taylor has had. Ridge thinks this is great news, but Taylor takes it like a slap in the face. She goes into completely denial and acts like Grace is telling her that her symptoms are all in her head. Upset, Taylor leaves. She rants and raves to Ridge at Steffy’s house. When she mentions getting a second opinion, he urgers her to do that but advises her not to ignore it. He reminds her that she told him years ago that the mind and body are connected and that problems with the mind are dangerous to ignore. She’s still angry and lashes out a bit at Ridge. Eventually, she calms down, and she tells him again not to tell anyone (this time because she’s embarrassed). He holds her hand, telling her that he’s there for her, always. They hug.

Liam and Steffy chat about some deal Forrester is making with Spencer. After that’s settled, they talk about how nice it is for Steffy to have Taylor around again. They chuckle about how much Kelly goes on and on about her grandma. Liam is surprised she’s planning to stay, but Steffy says that her mom seems different. Liam wonders if it maybe it’s due to Ridge. Steffy lets him know that she’s planing to stay out of Ridge and Taylor’s relationship this time. Liam also mentions that Ridge is with Brooke. They talk about how strong Taylor is, and how she’s had to deal with a lot in her life.

Bill tells Brooke that Katie refuses to get back together with him. She knows that Katie blames her for what happened years ago with Bill. She offers to talk to Katie, to see if she can convince her to go back to Bill. Bill thanks Brooke for always seeing the best in him. He wonders why she and Ridge have never gotten re-married and whether Taylor being back in town might cause them problems, but she assures him that she and Ridge are solid.

Taylor gets the cardiac enzyme test from Grace. Ridge is there to support her. After the test, she tells him that she’s glad he’s there. She reminisces about their past, saying she didn’t know how lucky they had it when they were all a family. She tells him that she wants him to be happy. Grace returns with her test results. She says that the numbers are good, and she doesn’t have heart failure. Ridge and Taylor are shocked. Grace thinks Taylor has broken heart syndrome, which can mimic heart failure.

Brooke and Carter chat about how well Brooke’s Bedroom is doing. She teases him about having a special woman and asks if he and Katie are still an item. He tells her he and Katie have just been friends for quite a while. He wonders if Katie will get back with Bill.

Hope and Steffy are working in the same room. Hope tries to bond with Steffy by talking about Taylor and saying how she’s always glad to have her mom nearby. Steffy acts bitchy, as she often does to Hope. Hope suggests they try to keep the peace. She apologizes again for going after Finn and promises it won’t happen again. Hope suggests that they act like the family they are and leave a better legacy for their kids. She tells Steffy that she’s just trying to get back to who she was. Steffy throws all this back in Hope’s face and insults her and Brooke. Carter comes in just then. Steffy leaves, so Carter and Hope flirt and joke around about her wearing lingerie. He invites her to lunch at Il Giardino.

Katie drops by to see Bill at his place, at his request. He wants to get back together with her. He assures her that things are over with him and Poppy. However, she turns him down. She tells him that it was too painful before, when he chose Brooke over her. Will doesn’t seem to care if his parents are back together or not. He tries again to convince her, but she says that she’s past the idea of them being together. Later, Brooke drops by for a meeting with Bill about Brooke’s Bedroom. He asks if they can reschedule, so she wonders what’s wrong. He tells her what happened with Katie, and how Katie said that he’s only interested in her when Brooke’s not available.
