Eric: I have to say Donna and I love the buzz those kids create when they’re here.

Steffy: Thank you for letting us stay here.

Steffy: Hayes.

Eric: Hayes. I love you all. And this is your home. It’s a family home, and you can stay here as long as you want any time, don’t you forget that.

Steffy: I– I won’t, and it has been an incredible time, but we can’t stay here forever.

Ridge: What are you saying?

Liam: Well, we’re trending in the right direction. Yeah, we are. Subs are up and– and we got a little uh, bump in print readership, ’cause of that ad-buy, no doubt. Just don’t… uh, don’t run this by my dad just yet, I want you to, uh, make sure Wyatt sees it first. Okay, all right, thanks Erin, bye-bye. I’m a little busy, John.

Finn: Right, well, I don’t care. I’m just here to make sure that you’re staying away from my wife.

Liam: I don’t blame you for being upset, but don’t– don’t do this, don’t come to my office and start barking orders at me, you know exactly why Steffy walked out on you. It’s got nothing to do with me. It’s because you refuse to cut ties with Sheila.

Deacon: Ah. Ow. Ow, Sheila, damn it, isn’t a massage supposed to be relaxing?

Sheila: Oh, my gosh. Should stop being such a baby. It’s just that you are so tight, you’ve got so many knots. It’s like you’re carrying all of this stress, the weight of the world on these incredibly broad, strong… handsome shoulders.

Deacon: I wonder why I’m stressed. Sheila, if Brooke or Hope finds out that you’re staying here, they’re not gonna have anything to do with me. I could wind up losing the restaurant. How’s that for the weight of the world? Ow! [ Grunts ] Did you get those things sharpened?

[ Sheila laughing ]

Deacon: [ Grunts ] I’m gonna need a real masseuse after– I’m– I’m gonna need a chiropractor after this. [ Grunts ]

Sheila: Oh…Did one side, I don’t want you to be off balance.

Deacon: Oh, I’m sorry. Who’s off balance? Ow!

Sheila: Stop being such a baby.

Deacon: Don’t call me a baby.

Sheila: Everything is gonna be just fine, all right? And I already promised I am not going to upend your life.

Deacon: Too late. [ Grunts ] Damn it, Sheila.

Finn: Look, Liam, so you know, I have told Steffy that Sheila will never have a role in our lives.

Liam: Yeah, no, that’s– that’s great, that’s a great… sentence. But now, it’s on you to actually prove that you’re not still vulnerable to Sheila, especially, for Kelly’s sake and Hayes’ sake. And by the way, I’m not the only one who sees it this way, Steffy obviously does, too.

Finn: You know what I see? I see you playing this compassionate ex-husband who claims that he just wants what’s best for his ex-wife. When in reality, you’re just trying to use Sheila to drive a wedge between Steffy and me. You’re trying to make a play for my wife.

Steffy: Okay, both of you. Please stop staring at me like that, it’s no secret that I miss my husband. This was never meant to be permanent, I can’t stay here forever.

Eric: Why not?

Ridge: Wait, we both get that part, but, um… I don’t want to interfere in your marriage, but Sheila’s on the loose, she’s still out there, and Finn is connected to her.

Sheila: Oh, my gosh. Would you just whine a little more, I– I won’t use as much pressure. Stop being a baby.

Deacon: Hey, if I was a baby, somebody would be calling Child Services right now. ‘Cause I am gonna have bruises for a week.

Sheila: Well, you know what, that never seemed to matter to you in the past.

Deacon: It’s the funniest thing. The intensity of the massage just seemed to pick up when I mentioned that there was another woman in Finn’s life. Someone else connected to his happiness.

Sheila: Stop.

Deacon: Steffy, his wife.

Sheila: Why do you feel that you always have to rub that in my face? I– it was an unfortunate… mistake that– that just got out of hand.

Deacon: Yeah. Tell that to Finn.

Sheila: I do. And I’m gonna continue to tell him over and over again until he believes me, until he knows how much I love him. Till he knows that I– I could be good in his life.

Liam: I am not out to sabotage your marriage, Finn. You’re doing that perfectly well on your own.

Finn: You know, you– you talk about this history, this amazing history you have with Steffy, history that I can’t compete with. Well, I know plenty about your past. How you jerked her around, broke her heart more than once. And you’re right, I can’t compete with that, I won’t. ‘Cause I’m better than that. Liam, Steffy’s it for me.

Liam: Well, no, Steffy and your mom are it for you, apparently. Remember your mom, the lunatic who tried to kill your wife?

Finn: Yeah, my wife, do I need to keep reminding you that?

Liam: You don’t need to keep reminding me of that because it’s the fact that Steffy’s your wife that makes your connection to Sheila so unacceptable. It’s your job to get Sheila out of LA, to get her out of our lives. You say you love Steffy, Finn? Great. Prove it. Get rid of Sheila.

Eric: What happened to Finn that you feel safer now? What–

Steffy: He hasn’t given up. He’s taken responsibility for his poor judgment with Sheila. He promised it won’t happen again, and he vowed to protect me and the kids.

Ridge: We’ve heard all this before.

Steffy: But I want to believe him this time, Dad. Granddad, I am so grateful for this time. It has been wonderful, but the kids need to go home. They need their schedules and their routines and they miss home. Not to mention Finn.

Ridge: Okay, I get it. I get all of that, but Sheila is still out there.

Deacon: Yeah, how important you can be in Finn’s life?

Sheila: Yes. Have you already forgotten that I saved Kelly’s life at the beach? And can you imagine what would have happened if I weren’t there? I mean, what, what would have happened to Finn and his precious relationship with his wife then? He got so emotional, Deacon. And he thanked me over and over again, and he called me “Mom.” He doesn’t see me as– as an evil monster. He sees me as his mother. I gave birth to him. And deep down he– he knows that, and what’s most important, is I can see that he feels– that he feels that connection, and Steffy and everyone else, they can– they can try to do what they want to get into Finn’s head to poison him against me… but I really believe, I believe in that unconditional love and that bond between a mother and her son.

Finn: Nothing matters more to me than Steffy and the kids. Of course, I’m gonna keep them safe.

Liam: “Of course”? No, you don’t get to use the phrase “of course” with me when you almost let my daughter drown, and Sheila had to save her.

Finn: Okay, that’s all that matters, okay, and thank God, that Kelly is okay.

Liam: Yeah, thank God she’s okay, but you’re missing the point, Sheila was stalking you. She’s never gonna go away on her own. You have to take action, and I don’t– I don’t care, man. I don’t care if you have to put like, a tracker on her or whatever, but that’s what you should be laser focused on, not coming here, and putting me on notice. No, getting Sheila out of town ’cause your assurances, your words mean nothing to me. Do something.

[ Phone chimes ]

Finn: You’re right. I do need to do something. But so do you. Stop sniffing around. I understand that your marriage is rocky, but that does not give you the right to make a pass at my wife.

Steffy: Look, I am not naive. I realize the threat of Sheila is still very real. I, of all people, should know that. I still get flashes of that night in the alley. I see Finn on the ground. I see Sheila pointing a gun at me. Sound of it firing. Sometimes, I– I look at Finn, and I hate to say it, but I… I see Sheila. Her features, you know, I look in his eyes, and I can see her. She’s there.

Eric: How can you even consider going back to that house?

Steffy: Because I refuse to give up on my husband, my family, I am not losing them. Definitely not because of Sheila.

Ridge: What are you doing? You’re okay with this?

Eric: Am I okay with what?

Ridge: With what– are you okay with Steffy moving into that house? Isolated on the– on that hill in– in Malibu?

Eric: No, no, no. No, I’m not okay with it. I think it’s bad. I think it’s dangerous. But good luck trying to talk her out of anything that she’s decided to do. I mean, Steffy’s hard-headed. Gee, I wonder where she gets that.

Ridge: What does that mean?

Eric: What does that mean?

Ridge: Oh, I’m so– from me?

Eric: Yeah, from you.

Ridge: Oh, okay. You know where I got it, right?

Eric: Yeah.

Ridge: My mother.

Eric: Your mother, yes. [ Eric sighs ]

Ridge: I miss her. Mom should be here, and she’d know what to do.

Eric: If your mother was here, Sheila would not be. Your mother would eat her up and spit her out. She would.

Ridge: I want Steffy to have everything she wants. Her family, her husband, her kids in her house. But Sheila’s still out there. She’s still a problem.

Eric: For everyone.

Sheila: Ah.

Deacon: Look, I don’t say these things to hurt your feelings. I just– I don’t want you to have these lofty expectations and then get disappointed. And then get hurt. I care about you.

Sheila: I know you do. You just wanna keep me from… being upended and heartbroken and I adore you for that. Actually, I love you for that. But I– I’m not giving up on my future. I’m gonna have a life with my son, I am going to have a true relationship with Finn. [ Laughing ] Boy, it’s gonna start today.

[ Car engine whirring ]

Finn: Oh. Got it.

[ Car door clicks closed ]

Finn: Hey. Hey, I, um– I got your text asking me to meet me here, came as fast as I could.

Steffy: Yeah, thanks.

Finn: Yeah.

Steffy: Looks nice in here.

Finn: Well, I, um… I imagined you coming through that door a thousand times, and I didn’t do it any justice. You just– you look beautiful and I’ve– I’ve missed you so much.

Steffy: I’ve missed you too.

Finn: Yeah, this– this place feels way too big, and it’s painfully quiet without you guys.

Steffy: Yeah, that’s what happens when you don’t hear all the screaming and laughing.

Finn: Yeah, well, I’ve missed all of it, I’ve– I’ve missed the sounds of you and Kelly and Hayes, and just the… you know, the sounds of our family, more than you can imagine. So, um, I was hoping that you wanted to meet me here because are you thinking that maybe, you’re um… ready? Because, honey, we have– we have been apart for way too long, I mean… you know, I’ve– I’ve tried, um, passing the time, I’ve tried taking extra shifts, and doing some night swims, and I downloaded that, uh, that app, you know, that one you made me download, of the– the constellations. It still doesn’t look like any of them, but… you know, I’d start a movie, but it just– it’s not the same without you here. I need you, I need you in my arms, cuddled up to me. You’re my puzzle piece. I need you to fall asleep at night. And I need you to be the first thing that I see in the morning. I need my wife, honey. Please, tell me that you’re ready to come home.

Steffy: [ Sighs ] Gosh. I miss my puzzle piece too. Yeah, I love you so much, and the kids miss you, and you’re right. You’re right, I don’t want to be away from you. I wanna get the kids, and I wanna come back here.

Finn: You wanna come back, like… really, yeah?

Steffy: Yeah, I wanna be– I wanna be here with you. I wanna be in bed with you. I wanna be– I wanna be in your arms, I wanna come home. I wanna–

Ridge: Sharpe, open up. Where’s Sheila?

Steffy: Charlie, I’m busy. Pam still isn’t ready–

Finn: Sorry to, uh, disappoint.

Steffy: As much as I get a kick out of Charlie, this is a much more pleasant interruption.

Eric: Okay. Forget there. Let’s get down here on the dress, all right?

RJ: Okay.

Eric: Now, if the waist is good, we said we’re not going to do whatever treatment we’re going to do until later. We don’t need to, but I want more flare in– in the skirt.

RJ: More flare?

Eric: Hug her hips and then flare later down. Come on down. Enough flare. Okay. Do it again. It’s– it’s not enough. Do it again. Do it again. No, no, no, that’s not it. Here, let me, give it to me.

RJ: Okay. Yeah.

Eric: What I want– what I want is for this– I want this– oh, damn it. I–

RJ: What’s wrong?

Eric: What’s wrong? What’s wrong is my– my hand, I can’t– I can’t grip a pencil. I can’t design and if I can’t do that, it’s pretty much game over for my career, unless you can help me.

RJ: Granddad, have you told Donna about the arthritis?

Eric: Yes. Yes, of course I have, of course I have.

RJ: Granddad, I’m sorry. I can’t imagine what you’re going through right now.

Eric: Yeah, well, it helps to talk to her. Donna says I should try to– try to keep it in perspective. Things could be a lot worse, but frankly I don’t see how they could be. We’re talking… we’re talking about my life’s work slipping through my fingers like some of these… damn pencils.

Steffy: So, what’s in the bag?

Finn: Guess.

Steffy: I’m not in the mood.

Finn: Oh, come on. You love guessing games.

Steffy: No, that’s you.

Finn: Okay. True. But, um, you are getting better at them. I mean, since we’ve been together. I mean, for instance, before, I think you would have probably guessed that this here was a pizza, but you got a lot better. All right. How about this? How about we play a game and I will give you hints on what it’s not.

[ Steffy chuckles ]

Finn: All right. Okay. So it’s– it’s not a two-shot non-fat extra dry because you would have had your trainer this morning, which means you would have done your cold plunge, so you already had your coffee.

Steffy: That’s true.

Finn: And we’ve already established that it’s not a pizza because you’re better at these games.

[ Steffy laughs ]

Finn: And, well, it’s– it’s not tacos from that place in the Palisades that, you know, we used to go to, but stop using shredded beef, because I mean, ground beef, it doesn’t belong in a taco. No, yes, you’re not making that mistake again. How about this? How about I give you a hint? One last one. This here… this comes around once a month. Okay? If that. Melts in your mouth and if you’re lucky enough and you stalk them on social media, you might be able to figure out where they park the truck, get in line at 6 A.M. In the valley. Or maybe you might actually be able to get some before they run out–

Steffy: Is this the ramen truck?

Finn: Yeah. But you know what, you’re kind of busy. So maybe–

Steffy: No, no, no, don’t you dare. I’m definitely eating this.

Finn: Okay, good. I was, uh, hoping you’d want to take a break. But the truth is I just, um… I want to spend some time with you. I missed you.

[ Knocking on door ]

Ridge: Open up. I’m not messing around.

Deacon: All right. All right. Give me a second. I’m just getting dressed.

[ Knocking on door ]

Ridge: Sharpe, open up.

[ Knocking on door ]

Deacon: Geez, Forrester. Carter? What the– what’s the matter? You boys couldn’t get a reservation downstairs by yourselves?

Ridge: We’re looking for Sheila.

Eric: Okay.

RJ: Okay.

Eric: Here. Open these for me.

RJ: Yeah.

Eric: Thank you.

RJ: No problem.

Eric: Yeah, where’s my, uh– where’s the, uh, um–

RJ: The what? The ball?

Eric: Yeah, the ball. Where’s the ball? Thank you.

[ RJ chuckles ]

[ Eric groans ]

RJ: Can I ask you something?

Eric: Yeah.

RJ: How, uh– how long have you been struggling with– with designing?

Eric: Well, just, uh, since this started bothering me, which hasn’t been that long, actually.

RJ: No?

Eric: Just a little bit at a time and it’d go away. You know, I’m still, uh, in spite of my youthful demeanor, I am getting older, you know.

RJ: Well, hey, I mean, you have all of us fooled, so.

Eric: [ Laughs ] Good.

RJ: [ Laughs ] Pretty good.

Eric: But then it started getting worse. Um, I mean, the pain started interfering with my ability to even conceive of an idea, let alone execute it. It just got worse and worse.

RJ: Wait, is that– is this why it didn’t go well when you tried to pitch in on Hope For The Future?

Eric: Pretty much, I guess. I mean, I thought I was just… I thought I was letting Zende down, you know, holding him back, just pulling him down. That’s what I thought. I was relieved when– when Hope hired Thomas to come back to do Hope For The Future. Uh, it took the pressure off me and it– the line just took off. It was beautiful. So, it gave me a chance to step back a little, I took a little hiatus and, uh, I felt, uh– I felt good to do that. And so, then I started to try to draw again and it’s worse than ever.

RJ: Why didn’t you tell anybody?

Eric: I didn’t want to, I didn’t want to. I still don’t. Just pride, I guess.

RJ: I mean, you said that you saw a doctor and they–

Eric: I did, there’s nothing much you can do about it. It’s arthritis and that’s the way it’s going to be, right? That’s when I went to your dad. I– I didn’t tell him about my condition at all. I– I didn’t, but I– that’s when I asked him to join with me and to– to do a wonderful new line. That we could collaborate the way we used to when, uh– when I was mentoring him all those years ago.

RJ: But he, uh, turned you down.

Eric: Yeah.

RJ: He said he was too busy.

Eric: He said he was too busy. So, there you go.

RJ: So, you turned to me.

Eric: Yeah, I did. You don’t wanna know why?

RJ: Why?

Eric: Because you’re Ridge Junior, that’s why.

Steffy: Thanks again for bringing this by. Really nice surprise.

Finn: Anything to spend some time with you. Look… I know why you felt like you had to take the kids to your grandfather’s and I respect your concerns. And look, I know I’ve been putting a lot of the blame for our separation on Liam when… I know that’s not the only reason we’re apart. Although, I’m still certain he’s trying to have another shot with you. But ultimately… I take responsibility for why you and I are apart. It’s because of Sheila.

Deacon: Why are you looking for Sheila? Why ask me?

Ridge: Well, because you helped us before and now you can help us again. Carter knows.

Deacon: You told him? You and Spencer promised.

Carter: Relax. I won’t say anything about your past with Sheila, as twisted as it was.

Ridge: So obviously, you know that she was released and something tells me that you know where to find her.

Eric: RJ, I’ve been designing my whole life. It’s all I’ve ever done. It has given me more pleasure and more accomplishment and more joy than anything else. And now that that gift has been taken away from me, I– I can no longer… no longer express myself. You know, I have all these ideas and I can’t– I can’t put them down on paper, not– not without your help.

RJ: Wait, I just realized I– obviously, yes, I– I will assist you with anything you want me to assist you with, but you can still draw and design.

Eric: No, I don’t think you understand. I can’t even–

RJ: No, no, I do– I do understand, but you can do it without a pencil and paper. You can do it with a computer. Just like you’ve taught me, I can teach you.

Finn: Look, I wish that we didn’t even have to talk about Sheila, but as long as she’s out of prison, I realize how that hangs over you. The threat that she could strike at any time.

Steffy: I’m still having nightmares about Sheila. More than anything, though, I– I worry about Kelly and Hayes.

Finn: I feel the same way. That’s why I vowed to do everything in my power to keep you and the children safe from Sheila.

Ridge: I think we can all agree that Sheila walking away from what she did was absolutely wrong.

Deacon: Yeah. That and the result of the mighty Dollar Bill Spencer not being quite as mighty as he thought. I love that.

Ridge: What are you saying? Are you happy that she’s free?

Deacon: Of course not.

Carter: So, considering that thing between you and Sheila, we figured she might come running to you.

Deacon: No, haven’t seen her. What– what, you– you think I’m stashing her here? Take a look at this place. I mean, I think we’re already at max occupancy.

Ridge: Listen, I don’t trust you. I’m not going to start now, especially when it comes to Sheila and my family. So let me ask you one more time. Do you know where she is?

Ridge: Now, there’s got to be cameras around here, right? Maybe we can subpoena some of the footage.

Carter: Oh, yeah. Yeah, I can make some calls.

Deacon: I actually don’t think it’s a bad idea. I mean, uh, look, I’m not in the restaurant 24/7. It’s possible she could have come in. It’s just, um, you know, I’m– I’m not an attorney, but how are you going to get a judge to give you a court order? I mean, she is a free woman.

Ridge: It kind of sounds like you’re defending her.

Carter: Mm-hmm.

Deacon: No, I’m not defending her at all. I just– I think you’re wasting your time, and I’m going to tell you something else. I don’t appreciate you coming down here unannounced and interrogating me. And I also don’t appreciate the fact that you and Spencer broke your word to me and you told Carter about my past with Sheila. But the bottom line is this, I don’t want to see her anymore, either. Look, man, I get it. She– she did a lot of hurtful things to your family in the past and to me. And that’s exactly where I want to keep her. I want to keep her in the past. I haven’t seen her, but if I do see her or if I hear from her, I’ll tell you.

Ridge: I want to believe you. I really do. But the past tells me otherwise. Here’s my bottom line. Sheila is a threat to my family and anyone who helps her is a threat to my family also. And my family includes Brooke and Hope.

Deacon: We done?

Ridge: Thank you for your time.

Finn: Oh, hey. A girl’s got to eat, right?

Steffy: Not just the food. For checking in. Continuing to fight for us. And looking at me the way you do.

Finn: I– I can’t help it.

Steffy: Thank you for just opening up to me, pouring your heart out. I know it’s been really hard for you, but I can hear how much you love me, Kelly and Hayes.

Finn: I do, honey, and you should never question that. Okay? Ever.

Steffy: I won’t. But if I’m being honest, it has been really hard, Finn. Like I’ve said, Sheila has terrorized my family over and over again. You know that.

Finn: I know. I know. And that’s why I vow to do everything in my power to keep you and the kids safe and I will have nothing to do with Sheila. I just– I can’t be apart from you another night, Steffy. It’s killing me.

Steffy: I know. It’s killing me, too. I hate it.

Finn: Yeah.

Steffy: But I love you. Oh, I love you so much.

Finn: I love you too.

Sheila: I– I heard everything, the act that you put on for Ridge and Carter. And thank you. Although, it seems like, uh… some of the things that you said are true. I have… made things difficult for you. I hope you understand how much you mean to me. I had no one else to turn to. There’s no one else who even cares if I live or die, except Finn. I’m– I’m serious, Deacon. And you’ve got to understand what I– what I’m talking about on some level as a father and the connection that I– I share with Finn. I knew it when I was… holding my… my handsome, strong, beautiful son in my arms. When he embraced me, he knew I wasn’t going to spend the rest of my life behind bars. I– I– I could feel his relief, his love. So, don’t worry, okay? It is going to work out. I am not going to upend your life and I am going to be with Finn. My son is going to embrace me and I am going to be in his life forever, Deacon.

Brooke: I’ve been wanting this and praying for this for so long, that Hope would come out of her fog. She finally did. Went to Liam and asked for forgiveness and he said no.

Ridge: Sorry, Logan.

Brooke: No, I am, too. I mean, I’m just– I’m worried, you know, right? Because Hope’s in a very vulnerable state right now.

Thomas: I, um– I wasn’t sure that we would ever kiss again. And I never want to stop kissing you.

RJ: So you– so you’re saying that Dad just pushed you aside?

Eric: I didn’t have much of a chance to go into detail, but, uh… but yeah, yeah. He, um, he was too busy to talk to me about it.

RJ: And your hands…

Eric: My hands aren’t working. They won’t do the work to get my– my vision down on paper. Will you help me?

[ Door opening ]

Deacon: You’re still here?

Sheila: I– I told you, I wasn’t going anywhere, didn’t I?

Deacon: What is it they say about the definition of insanity?

Sheila: Okay, I know where you’re going with this.

Deacon: Was it doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome?

Sheila: And yet, you let me stay. And they say I’m the insane one.

Deacon: Yeah. Well, I’m just reminding you and myself what a risk it is, lettin’ you stay here.

Sheila: Mm-hmm?

Deacon: Mm-hmm.

Sheila: But it’s a risk, with– definite rewards.

RJ: Granddad, listen. I really think that it’s in your best interest to tell Dad about–

Eric: No. No. No, RJ.

RJ: No?

Eric: No. Look, he’s made it very clear that he thinks it’s time for me to trade in my pencil, and– and, uh– trade it in for a pickleball racket and– and– and just retire. But I’m not up for that. I’m not ready for that yet. I need a steady, gifted hand to help me realize my vision.

RJ: And you think that’s me?

Eric: I do. I think it’s you. I’m sure of it.

Brooke: I just can’t believe that Liam wouldn’t accept Hope’s apology.

Ridge: Some guys have a problem with betrayal.

Brooke: I understand that. But I just thought that they were gonna work things out. Now, I’m worried the divorce will really go through.

Carter: I’m sorry for interrupting. These are for you.

Ridge: Thank you.

Carter: And I couldn’t help overhearing. For what it’s worth, Liam and Hope did sign the divorce papers, but they haven’t returned them yet for filing.

Brooke: Right. But now I’m not sure what’s going to happen, because Liam couldn’t accept Hope’s plea for forgiveness.

Steffy: I think what Carter’s saying is that there’s still a chance that Hope’s marriage could work out. Focus on that. Especially if Hope is sincere about wanting nothing to do with Thomas.

Hope: Thomas.

Thomas: Hope, you don’t deserve this. Not to feel this way. Hurt. Rejected. Vying for Liam’s attention. You deserve to be with someone who truly loves you.

Sheila: So how was work today, sweetheart?

Deacon: Oh, it was just fine, darling. Always something, never ends, you know.

Sheila: You love it.

Deacon: I do.

Sheila: I– I– I am– I am so happy for you, that you have found your passion. I mean, look at you, responsible, happy, successful. Making good decisions.

Deacon: Yeah, not so much with the last one, but…

Sheila: Oh. It really– it means the world to me. I can’t thank you enough for giving me a place to stay. I know it’s a risk for you.

Deacon: It is a big risk. Hope and Brooke would have nothing to do with me if they ever found us together, or if they learned about our past.

RJ: Granddad… I’m flattered that you’d even asked me, but… I’m not a designer.

Eric: I thought perhaps you would, uh… say that to me. And so, in preparation for that possibility, I brought something along that I want to show you. Sit down.

RJ: Oh, what?

Eric: This. Here.

RJ: Granddad.

[ Eric chuckling ]

RJ: You can’t base your future off something I drew when I was four.

Eric: Oh, I think this is actually, you were three when you did this.

RJ: Really?

Eric: Take a look. Look at these lines. Look how you fill the page. Right? Look how you can get into that drawing. It’s beautiful. Look, I’m serious. You are a Forrester. You’re a designer. It’s in your blood. It’s in mine, too. And that’s why I want to ask you to do this with me. I want you to help me bring my vision to life so we can show Ridge that he still has a lot to learn from his old man. Will you do it?

RJ: So when do we start?

Brooke: This can’t be happening. I mean, Hope made some mistakes. She realizes that. She went down the wrong path. When she went to reconcile with Liam, he just shot her down.

Steffy: Well, if Hope is really over whatever feelings she has for Thomas, they’ll work through it. I just don’t know if it’s gonna happen overnight.

Brooke: I don’t know, either. And I’m just worried. I mean, she’s in a– she’s in a very vulnerable state.

Ridge: Well, this is a tricky situation, for sure. I’m worried about Thomas as well. And all the progress he’s made.

Thomas: What we do is pretty crazy. And the people who buy our designs, they do it for all different reasons. Some for the artistry, right? Some for the status they think it brings them, and… some as a metaphor. Projecting a sense of themselves onto it. But no matter what, the best thing we can do is be honest and be truthful when we’re creating them. Should stay true to ourselves. Sometimes it’s fun to, uh– to take those old designs, too. To revamp them. Try and make them fresh, try and make them new. It’s like that nostalgia of the past. That is what I see happening in your personal life. That’s what Liam does. What he has, in the moment, maybe it’s just not good enough for him anymore. And he looks to the past. All that nostalgia. But in the same way, the best thing you can do is stay true to yourself. And I’m not saying you should never feel guilty. Especially right now. I get it. But that– that kiss. In Rome. It stuck with me. Lit a fire. And all those moments we shared in my bed… they were incredible. And while Liam may be interested in nostalgia, looking to the past, trying to make things new again, for me… there’s only you.

Ridge: You know, when I say I’m concerned about Thomas, doesn’t take away my concern for you and what you’re dealing with, right?

Steffy: Hey, Dad, I can take care of myself. If only Sheila were behind bars where she belongs.

Ridge: Yeah. Well, we did all we could, I think. It’s…

Steffy: That’s not what I’m saying, Dad.

Ridge: I know. I know, but I– what I’m saying is, it’s gonna be all right. We’re gonna figure this out. Now, we have this meeting now, right?

Carter: Long overdue.

Ridge: We got this. It’s gonna be fine. Goes for you, too. Hope’s gonna be okay.

Brooke: Yeah. I pray you’re right.

Deacon: I just love Hope so much.

Sheila: I get it.

Deacon: You know, growing up, I didn’t have much of a family, and what I did have, well, that was… pretty much a dumpster fire. I– I just can’t lose her.

Sheila: Yeah, well don’t worry, okay? I’m– I’m not gonna blow our cover. It’s why I’m– I’m laying low, I’m– I’m barely leaving here.

Deacon: I noticed.

Sheila: I can’t thank you enough, really. Giving me a place to stay, I– I have no one else to turn to. There’s really no one else who understands me the way that you do.

Eric: You have no idea what this means to me.

RJ: Hey, I haven’t sketched anything yet, so I don’t want you to be disappointed or anything.

Eric: No chance of that. It’s not gonna happen. Look, I’m gonna be right with you the whole way. I’ll be looking right over your shoulder. I’ll help you with everything, okay?

RJ: Okay.

Eric: My hand may be a little too shaky to– to– to realize my vision, but– but– uh, with your help, we can get this thing done. You know, my– my hand isn’t working that well anymore, but my mind is sharp as a– um– um– what’s that– what’s that word, uh…

RJ: A tack?

Eric: A tack. Sharp as a tack. Now, come on. Let’s get it going.

RJ: All right.

Eric: Now, I want this line to be simple, and elegant. Very classic. But I want it to have a little surprise, just a little twist that makes it stand out from everything else, all right?

Hope: Heh. Uh… this is all… it’s all so much, and I just–

Thomas: Yeah. Hope. Look, I– I realize you have conflicted feelings. And I know Liam got in your head. Used things in the past, things that I’m not proud of, obviously, and you– you know that. You know I’m a reformed man, and so do I. I– let me love you. Let me love you the way that no one else can.

RJ: So what do you think?

Eric: I think, uh… I think we make a really good team. Good job, my boy. Good job. I really appreciate you doing this for me.

RJ: Well, Granddad, I should be the one thanking you. For trusting me, and… for believing in me. Means a lot.

Eric: Always have. Always will. Listen, um– RJ, I want you to do me another favor.

RJ: Mmm.

Eric: I don’t want you to say anything to your father about this, or about what’s been going on with my hand, all right? I want to keep it between us. Because I want to show your father, and the world, that–

RJ: To never count out Eric Forrester.

Eric: It’s exactly right. Exactly right. Good. Good.

Hope: I, um– I tried to do the right thing. For my marriage, and for my family, just to make sure that there were no regrets before we made a decision that we can’t take back. And now, I– I have clarity. My marriage is over. And I hear what you are saying, Thomas, loud and clear. And I understand. But I’m not in love with you, Thomas. And I just– I– I don’t want to take advantage of your feelings for me.

Thomas: Yeah. Look, I– i understand, we’re, uh– we’ve moved pretty fast. But I really think I can make you happy.

Hope: Oh, yeah?

Thomas: Yeah.

Hope: Well, I’m not going to pretend like you haven’t… woken something up inside of me.

Thomas: Yeah, you’ve woken up something inside of me, too. Look, I, uh– I want to give you what you need. So… maybe we can go to dinner?

Hope: I mean, that’s not exactly what I’m craving right now.

Hope: Thomas, I just need to say one thing. Liam let me down. And I’m hurting. And I am going to need some time, but… that doesn’t mean that I don’t want you.

Thomas: Yeah.

Hope: Is that, um– is that something you can handle?

Thomas: Yeah, I think I can handle it. Sometimes we get a little too caught up in the past or the future. Let’s just live in the moment.

Steffy: Yeah, I didn’t see a meeting on the calendar.

Deacon: Maybe I really should get my head examined for lettin’ you stay here. Hey, do you think it’s possible that I actually took too many kicks to the head during martial arts?

Sheila: Well, if you don’t have to get right back to work, I think I could take up that nurse’s uniform and give you a full examination. ‘Cause I would love to show you how grateful I am for everything that you’ve done for me. Everything that you’ve… given me.

Deacon: Mmm.

[ Knocking on door ]

Brooke: I can’t believe Liam wouldn’t forgive you.

Hope: I tried to give it one last shot. For our family. I– I tried to let him know how sorry I was, that I would do anything to try to make it right again, but–

Brooke: But… he wouldn’t listen? He just couldn’t forgive?

Hope: Mom, Liam knows how much I love him, and our family, but… I don’t think he’s ever going to be able to get past what happened with Thomas.

Liam: What are you doing here?

Thomas: Hear me out.

Liam: Uh, no. Whatever it is you have to say, I don’t– I don’t care.

Thomas: It’s about Hope.

Steffy: Oh, I needed that.

Ridge: You’re going through a lot. I’m sorry. But I’m here for you.

Steffy: I know you are. And I admit, it’s– it’s been hard, you know. I miss Finn. My husband. I miss my home. I miss being able to just look out the window and see and smell the ocean.

Ridge: Yeah, that’s hard. Being in Beverly Hills sucks, doesn’t it?

Steffy: That’s not what I–

Ridge: You’re at Granddad’s house because it’s a safe place for you to be. It’s important.

Steffy: Yes. And I’m really grateful that he opened his home to us. The kids are having so much fun.

Ridge: He loves those kids. He loves you. Not sure how he feels about me at the moment.

RJ: Hello? Hey, big man himself. How are you? Um, uh– Marta. I– I contacted her, she said I left my charger here? Would you happen to know where it is?

RJ: Is– is everything okay?

Eric: No. No, everything is not okay.

RJ: Granddad, what’s– what’s going on? You seem a little upset.

Eric: Uh, nothing I can’t handle. Uh, and certainly nothing for you to be concerned about.

RJ: Well, that just makes me more concerned. Come on, you– you’re the one of the most easy, laid-back people I know. What’s– what’s bothering you?

Eric: I had a bad day, that’s all.

RJ: Well, tell me about what happened today.

Eric: It’s about your father.

Steffy: Why would you say that about Granddad? What happened?

Ridge: I’m not entirely sure. I think I offended him.

Steffy: What? How?

Ridge: Uh, I threw out his stapler.

Brooke: I don’t understand. Liam is very kind and forgiving. Besides, it’s not like he hasn’t hurt you before in the past. Wait. He only knows about that one kiss you and Thomas shared, right?

Hope: Yes, that is all he knows about. And given his resistance to that, I don’t think he’s exactly ready to hear that Thomas and I have now been together. But it doesn’t matter now, right? He can’t even forgive me for the kiss. What makes me think that he would be able to forgive me for anything else?

Liam: You really– you need to go. You should go.

Thomas: Look, I realize you saw what happened in Rome.

Liam: Yeah, it– Thomas, I saw what happened. I got a front-row seat to my wife kissing the guy who is content to let us grieve our daughter for the rest of our lives, so yeah, I–

Thomas: I’m not– I’m not going to try and make any excuses, all right? I realize that you’re never going to forgive me, but… you can forgive Hope. She’s your wife, she loves you. She deserves it, okay? You have to find forgiveness for her.

RJ: But what’s going on with you and Dad? Is it just, like, work stuff or–

Eric: You could say that. RJ, I’m– I’m– I’m inspired. I’m inspired, I– I– I’m going to come up with a whole new collection.

RJ: You’re doing a new collection?

Eric: Yes, I am.

RJ: That’s amazing! That’s awesome.

Eric: Well, your father doesn’t seem to think so.

RJ: He actually told you that?

Eric: Not in so many words, but, uh… but he feels that my time would be better spent playing golf or pickleball.

Steffy: Sounds like Granddad was pretty upset. Not just about the stapler.

Ridge: No. He was adamant about people not using his office, including you, believe it or not.

Steffy: Where is this coming from?

Ridge: I have no idea. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Steffy: Yeah, but, uh, I don’t want Granddad to be upset.

Ridge: Yeah, I don’t want that either. This whole thing is about him wanting to design again, not resting on his laurels, but we’ll figure it out. We always do. Now, on another note, not necessarily a happier one.

Steffy: Oh, god, where is this going?

Ridge: Have you spoken to your brother? I’d like to know where he stands with his relationship with Hope.

Thomas: Like, obviously, you don’t like me very much.

Liam: Oh, yeah? What gave it away?

Thomas: Especially after what you saw in Rome.

Liam: Yeah, Thomas. Convincing me my daughter was dead probably would have done the trick on its own, but seeing my wife make out with you didn’t help.

Thomas: Okay. But we do have something in common. We both care about Hope. I mean, come on. She loves you.

Liam: How do you not see that you are not the person who should be pitching me on this?

Thomas: No, you’re right. I don’t want to be the person who’s pitching you on this, but I am because she loves you and she wants you back.

Liam: Okay, is– is it not obvious that– that you are not in a position to be telling me what I should or shouldn’t be doing and is it not obvious that my conversations with Hope are none of your business? You– fine, fine. Just– you’re here. You’re here anyway, so whatever. Look. Yes. I’ve seen Hope, yes. We had a conversation and… yes, you’re right. We love each other. She still loves me and I still love her.

Thomas: Good. Then, you will be able to forgive her.

Liam: I didn’t say that.

[ Brooke groans ]

Brooke: Honey, I am– I am sorry about this. I can see how much you’re hurting.

Hope: Oh. I’m not just hurting, Mom. I’m also angry.

Brooke: At Liam?

Hope: No! No. At myself. I brought this on myself. I was reckless and now I– that might be at the expense of my family. I didn’t think it through.

Brooke: Honey! You made a mistake, okay? Everybody makes mistakes. You have to just take responsibility for it, which you’re doing, and move on. What more can you do? Don’t worry. We’ll be here for you. Ridge, me, RJ, your father. We’re here for you to lean on us, okay? We’ll support you.

Hope: I do appreciate that. But if I’m being honest, I don’t even think I deserve that right now.

Brooke: Honey, stop that. I’m your mother. There’s nothing you could do that wouldn’t be deserving of my love. Just know that we’ll always be here for you. But don’t you dare go back to Thomas.

Thomas: Hope has been completely and totally devoted to you. She messes up once and you’re out.

Liam: You– hm. You’re… really trying my patience, Thomas.

Thomas: Look, you have messed up multiple times. You’ve stepped out on her. You– you had a pregnancy scare with another woman. Oh, yeah, that’s right. That was my sister. Hope messes up once, she kisses one guy and you’re what? You’re done?

Liam: Hope knew, you know. She always knew. That there was just one thing, only one, that I couldn’t forgive. You. She knew it. She chose it. Here we are.

Thomas: You’re a fool.

Liam: I’m a what?

Thomas: You’re a fool. You have this amazing, beautiful, wonderful woman who loves you and wants to repair your family.

Liam: Door handle sticks. Use the one on the right.

Thomas: Yeah, okay. Just so you know, Liam, you’re going to regret this. There aren’t that many things in life that are certain, but that is.

Brooke: I know that you’re heartbroken and I know that you’re vulnerable right now, but please, whatever you do, don’t turn to Thomas.

Hope: Mom, you get that I have hurt Thomas in this too, right? He hasn’t even been in contact with me.

Brooke: Oh, well, he will make a play. He will sense that there’s an opportunity.

Hope: Mom, Thomas has done nothing wrong in any of this. And I get that it’s hard for people to wrap their minds around the fact that little miss innocent Hope has feelings for Thomas, but I do– did. I told Thomas that I want to repair my marriage to Liam. I want to give it one last shot, for the sake of our daughter. And guess what, mom? He promised to step aside because he does love me.

Brooke: Okay, uh, well, Thomas’s love caused a lot of people a great deal of pain. It’s caused you a great deal of pain. Just remember that.

RJ: So, my dad told you that you should retire? That’s insane.

Eric: Yeah. Yeah, it really is.

RJ: Yeah.

Eric: Now, he wants me to go fade off into that good night, but I have no intention of doing that. You know, I’ve never, uh– I’ve never really backed away from any kind of a challenge in my life. And this is going to be a very big deal. Biggest collection I’ve ever done. I’m going to do this. And you’re going to help me.

Steffy: I have no idea what’s going on between Hope and Thomas. I am rooting for Liam and Hope. I hope they find their way back to each other and we can just put this whole mess behind us.

Ridge: Yeah, well, I’m worried about Thomas. I’ve seen what happens to him when he gets obsessed with Hope. I don’t want him back there again.

Thomas: Hi.

Hope: Hey. Um, how long have you been standing there?

Thomas: Not too long. Uh, I was going to knock, but then I… I didn’t want to disturb you. You seemed very lost in thought.

Hope: Well, could use a distraction.

[ Thomas clearing throat ]

Thomas: I’m sorry.

Hope: What do you have to be sorry for?

Thomas: I saw Liam.

Hope: You what? Why– why would you–

Thomas: Okay.

Hope: I mean, what did you–

Thomas: I– I– I wanted to talk to him. I wanted to confront him about the reality that you want to put your life back together, to move on, that you– you made a mistake and you’re willing to own that. And it’s just ridiculous that he can’t see the reality there, and, um, it turns out that he is a bigger fool than I ever thought.

RJ: Granddad, um, I’m honored, truly, I am, but I mean, you’re going to make one of the greatest collections of your life. You don’t need me to help you.

Eric: But I do. I do. Look, I can’t, um… I can’t hold a pencil very long. My hand starts to shake and it ends up being very, very painful. It hurts.

RJ: Like, painful? But, like, have you talked to a doctor?

Eric: Yes, it’s arthritis. It hurts.

RJ: Oh, Granddad. I’m so sorry.

Eric: Yeah. No, I asked, uh… I asked your father to help me, but I didn’t tell him why I needed his help and I don’t want you to tell him either.

RJ: I mean, what did he say, though, when you talked to him?

Eric: Well, he turned me down. Told me how busy he is running couture, and, uh, running my business. But I told him, I’m not going out to pasture. I have too much energy, I have too much invested in this new line. This is going to be the– the best collection I’ve ever done. RJ, look at me. I want you to help me. Will you do that?

Ridge: I love my kids more than anything. When they’re in pain, I’m in pain. Thomas is obsessed with Hope–

Steffy: I– I know. I know. But I am proud of Thomas. He’s put everything that’s happened behind him. He’s really proving himself.

Ridge: That’s why he can’t backslide.

Steffy: We just need Hope and Liam to reconcile. But I don’t know if that’s going to happen.

Brooke: Oh! Good, you’re both here.

Ridge: Hey.

Brooke: Something I need to talk to you about. Um, I just left Hope and she did go to talk to Liam to ask for his forgiveness. And he said no. So, I am worried about my daughter. I am extremely worried about her. She’s in a very vulnerable place right now.

Hope: So, you went to see Liam?

Thomas: Yeah. Look, um, I– I– honestly, I did not go to cause any kind of trouble. I just went to talk to him and to try and convince him that you actually are doing what you said you wanted to do, which is you’re trying to put your family back together.

Hope: What did he say?

Thomas: Um, he made it clear that he is… unwilling to forgive what happened between us. But I– I– I– I don’t get it, Hope. Honestly. It doesn’t make any sense to me. He’s putting you through this pain. Now, that hurts me because you really are trying. He just won’t accept it. It’s like he saw one thing. You made one mistake. It’s not like he knows about everything else that happened between us.

Hope: So, you– you didn’t–

Thomas: No, no. I would never tell him about everything. [ Thomas chuckles ] That’s something that was, um, wonderful. And it’s just ours. Liam doesn’t get to be a part of it. I care so much for you, Hope, and I don’t understand what Liam’s doing. It doesn’t make any sense to me. Because what I see in front of me is beauty and grace. Hope, I love you so much. And I know I– I made mistakes, but this is like a true love. And that moment we shared, that first kiss in front of The Colosseum, that lit a fire inside of me. It’s given me so much energy and passion and all I want is to be yours. To be there for you, to create for you. To love you. To make love to you. This is our time, Hope. Let’s not throw it away.

Liam: So hope called me, and she wanted to talk. And she asked for forgiveness.

Wyatt: What– what did you say?

[ Liam sighs ]

Deacon: All right, look. You know this isn’t my first rodeo, right? I mean, I– I have never done that, whatever the hell that was. Insane.

Sheila: Something to be said for experience.

Deacon: Yeah. We can’t keep doing this.

Sheila: That’s not what you were saying a few minutes ago.

Deacon: Well, I say it every time we’re together, and we always wind up right back there.

Sheila: So, are you saying I’m irresistible?

Eric: So you think you can just throw me away? Just replace me?

Ridge: What are you– that’s not what I’m doing. We’re talking about a stapler.

Eric: No, my stapler. That stapler was very significant to me. That stapler was on my desk here the very first day of Forrester. It stapled together all of our orders and our receipts. It was– it held together all the evidence of my very first success in this business.

Ridge: Okay, I’m sorry, Dad. I’m sorry. I had– I didn’t know it meant that much to you. I didn’t– it was old. It didn’t work anymore.

Eric: Like me?

Eric: You know, the past needs to be valued, Ridge. It can’t just be thrown away like some piece of garbage.

Ridge: Okay, Dad, I think you’re overreacting–

Eric: I keep telling you about this line, this new line I want to produce and you keep putting me off. I’m not gonna let you put me off any longer.

Wyatt: Look, I know you and hope signed divorce papers, but I– you also told me that you weren’t gonna file ’em. I kinda thought there was a ray of hope there. Sorry. That’s a– that’s a poor choice of words.

Liam: It’s okay, I’m used to it. No, listen. I– [ Clears throat] I’m always going to love Hope. And I told her as much. I mean, I– we’ve just shared so much together. It’s just… I just know that I’m never gonna be able to forgive what she did with Thomas, especially after everything he’s done to us. And– and the fact is, she’s probably never gonna get over my history with Steffy.

Wyatt: Yeah, but… [ Laughs ] …Liam, come on. I mean, Steffy is the reason you’re not exactly running back to your wife. Am I right?

Deacon: Mm, it’s one of my many character flaws.

Sheila: You know, and I’m really hoping that Finn is gonna feel that way one day, too.

Steffy: Finn, I never wanted this. I hate being away from you. Keeping Hayes away from his father, it is killing me. I never envisioned this, raising my children without their father, the man that I love. And I do love you.

Finn: Well, that– that’s all that matters.

Steffy: You know it’s not that easy. I had to leave. I had to protect my children from Sheila.

Ridge: Dad, no one is putting you off.

Eric: No, I think it’s pretty clear that you are. My input and my– my opinions are not treated with any respect anymore. They’re not valued anymore. My whole position here is not respected anymore. The use of my office is not respect–

Ridge: The use of your office? What are you talking–

Eric: I’m talking about everybody being in here. Every time I try to come in here to do some work, it’s full of people. Everybody’s in here. You and Steffy and Thomas and Hope and– and– Zende and Paris, for god’s sake. And Pam– Pam and Charlie have lunch in here.

Ridge: Steffy’s your CEO.

Eric: This is my office. Look, I just don’t feel that my place in this company is being treated with any respect, and that’s gonna stop right now.

Wyatt: Hope was concerned about your feelings for Steffy, right? So, I mean, was she really that far off? I mean, you said to me yourself that you kissed Steffy despite the fact that she was still married to Finn.

Liam: I know. And– and I– I really shouldn’t have. I never wanted to be a– a homewrecker.

Wyatt: I wasn’t suggesting that, but… now how do you feel?

Liam: We– now? I mean, now my respect for Finn has obviously taken a hit ever since I saw him hugging Sheila. Oh, and that whole thing where, you know, he almost got my daughter killed.

Wyatt: Yeah. So the good doctor’s not so good because of his connection to Sheila.

Liam: Exactly right.

Deacon: So you’re still holding on to hope that you and Finn can have a relationship.

Sheila: Oh, my gosh. Are you serious? After everything we’ve been through, you’re doubting me?

Deacon: I gotta admit, you and your nine little piggies have wiggled your way out of some pretty tight situations.

Sheila: Finn and I, we– we have a connection. It’s something that only a mother and son can experience. I– it’s– when he embraced me, it was– it was visceral. It was like an electric current running through the two of us. And I know he felt it. I felt it too. Finn is a part of me, and I’m not gonna let that go.

Finn: All right, look. I completely understand your feelings about Sheila–

Steffy: No. No, my fears. That is why I’m here and I’m not at home with you.

Finn: Okay, I know. And I hate that you had to leave our home, and that you– you had to leave me in order to feel that way. It kills me that you don’t trust me to protect you and the kids!

Steffy: I’m sorry, Finn, but I didn’t have a choice. My children’s safety comes first.

Finn: Okay, I know. But you need to believe me when I tell you that I will do everything in my power to keep Sheila away from us. Steffy, Sheila will have no place in our lives. She will have no place in our family.

Ridge: Dad, this office– I’m sorry, your office–

Eric: My office.

Ridge: Has been a common space for a long time.

Eric: Common space? It’s not a common space. This is my space, Ridge. This is where I’ve been coming for decades. A private space where I can feel creative. Where I can do my work. This is– this is where I came up with Forrester creations and where I created the legacy that you’ve all been living off of–

Ridge: You know what? That’s on me. I didn’t know how strongly you felt about all this. I’ll be in the design office, is that okay?

Eric: Nah, it’s not about that, Ridge. I just feel that everybody’s become a little too complacent about my role around here. I think I’m just now degenerated into some kind of a figurehead.

Ridge: That’s not true at all.

Eric: Yes, I think it is. I’m the soul of this company! Every line and every design that’s come out of this company over these decades has been born of a seed that I planted a very long time ago. You can’t dismiss me, Ridge.

Ridge: I’m not dismissing–

Eric: That’s what you’re doing, you’re doing it right now! You’re not listening to me, Ridge. You’re not hearing me. That’s gonna stop, and it’s gonna stop right now.

Wyatt: So you think Finn–

Liam: Bottom line… Finn’s got Sheila’s DNA in him, right? Now, either he’s more like his bio-mom than any of us thought, or he’s not. But either way, I’m not taking that chance with Steffy and the kids’ safety.

Deacon: Lord help me, but you are damn sexy when you get fired up. What do you say to another round?

Sheila: Ooh, cowboy.

Deacon: Yippee-ki-yay.

Sheila: But you really don’t believe in me. You don’t think I have a chance at a relationship with Finn, that that’s crazy.

Deacon: Well, I think we’ve established that you don’t like the C-word, but there was that little incident in the alley with the gun.

Sheila: You keep bringing that up. You know, shooting Finn, it was a terrible, terrible accident.

Deacon: Mm-hmm. What about Steffy?

Sheila: Okay, Steffy was a mistake.

Deacon: Uh-huh.

Sheila: She wouldn’t move on from the past. She couldn’t accept that I’ve changed.

Deacon: I’m guessing she still hasn’t accepted it.

Sheila: Well, that’s too bad, because I really believe things could be very different if Steffy wasn’t in Finn’s life.

Finn: You know, I love you so much I would give my life for you.

Steffy: You almost did that night in the alley.

Finn: And I would do it again. Never doubt that.

Steffy: I don’t. I still have nightmares. [ Sighs ] I wake up in a sweat from the sound of a gunshot in my head. Even happens when I’m awake. I hear a door slam and then I’m suddenly transported back in that alley, and I just see you on the ground, bleeding. Sheila pointing a gun at me. God, she had so much hatred in her eyes.

Finn: God, I’m sorry I brought Sheila into our lives.

Steffy: No, you didn’t… you didn’t know who she was. When I found out that Sheila held you prisoner, while I know that you were just so terrified.

Finn: I knew that I needed to find my way back to you, and Sheila wasn’t going to stop me. You know what it was for me? It was the thought of you that kept me alive. Steffy, we were meant to be together. Because we saved each other. I took a bullet that was meant for you that night. And you… you gave me the will to live. You gave me the strength to fight. Nothing was gonna stop me from getting back to my family. Or my beautiful wife that I love more than life itself. It wasn’t gonna happen then. And nothing is gonna keep me from you now.

Eric: Ridge, I’m the surviving founder of this company. And if I choose to put out a new line, I expect the full force of Forrester Creations behind it, including you.

Ridge: You have that. We’ve always supported each other. You’ve always been there for me. You’ve asked me to run this company.

Eric: What’s your point?

Ridge: No, what’s your point? I’m your son, so what, you have to teach me a lesson or two every day? What is that? I’m not a novice. I’ve been doing this. I’ve been doing a really good job with this. Let me tell you the truth. There’s a whole generation of people behind me that are pushing up, that want my job because they have new, fresh ideas. And that’s good, because the fashion industry is a living, growing thing. That’s what makes it so great. And that’s why we’re successful at it. That’s why.

Eric: At my expense, apparently.

Ridge: No, but– okay. You want me to step down? Is that what you want? Fine. And I will enjoy my retirement. I’m not gonna play golf or pickleball. I’m gonna be on my 1949 Chris-Craft with a couple of beers, watching the sun go down, and that’s it. But who’s gonna run this place? Steffy? She’s a great CEO, but she doesn’t know design. Thomas? He’s not ready to do this. And RJ doesn’t even wanna be here. So who’s gonna do it? Who?

Eric: Me. It’s gonna be me. Everything you know, Ridge, you learned from me. I cultivated you. I fed you. I built this business. I built you. People think about Forrester Creations, they don’t think Ridge Forrester. They think Eric Forrester. I’m gonna create this new line, Ridge, and it’s gonna be the crowning achievement of my career. And I’m gonna do it, with or without you. You can go.

Liam: Not gonna let anything hurt you, Steffy.

Deacon: Sheila, it makes me very nervous when you say things like, things would be different if Steffy wasn’t in Finn’s life.

Sheila: It’s a musing, okay? A hypothetical.

Deacon: Musings have a way of taking up space in your brain, and you have been known to act on some very dangerous hypotheticals. Just– just think about this for a second. You’re out of jail. You won. You beat them. Don’t do anything that’s gonna put you back behind bars.

Sheila: Don’t worry. I’m not going anywhere, cowboy. Nowhere at all. Hey. Promise.

Steffy: I wish I could just put Sheila out of my mind. If only Bill’s stupid plan hadn’t backfired.

Finn: Yeah, I’m just as upset that Sheila’s free again.

Steffy: Yet… you embraced her.

Finn: Look, that was one of the biggest mistakes in my life, okay? I– I can’t explain it.

Steffy: You can’t explain it? See, that, that’s what scares me.

Finn: No, but, Steffy, whatever connection that I had with Sheila, nothing, nothing… compares to the love that I have for you and the kids.

Steffy: I don’t want to be apart from you, Finn. And I really, really do hope that we will find our way back to each other and be together. Please believe me when I say I love you. I still love you.

Finn: Okay, I can live with that. That’s what I need. I just… I need to know that you love me. Okay, and that you still believe in me.

Hope: I lost my way and made some choices that were… very unlike me and I can’t change it. But, what hasn’t changed are my feelings for you. I mean, I’ll always love you, Liam. Watching you with our daughter at her birthday, it just made me realize just… how much this is worth fighting for. It’s worth the effort to try to hold our family together. And so, while we have this moment in time, before it is too late, I just wanted to know, um… if it really is over between us.

Finn: Thanks for seeing me.

Steffy: Of course, I’d see you. You’re my husband.

Finn: Well, it’s just, you know, we’re in such limbo and then things, well, they seemed uncertain.

Steffy: I know. I hate that.

Finn: Then, let’s fix it. I mean, I– I miss you and the kids beyond words. I mean I– I walk into our empty house and it– it hurts so much that it takes my breath away. I wanna hold my wife. I wanna feel you sleeping next to me. I wanna read Kelly and Hayes a bedtime story. I want them to have them beg for another one before I tuck them in. Look, I am so sorry for everything that happened, but you need to let me make it right. Can you please come home?

Ridge: Hey, Dad. What are you doing here?

Eric: Sitting at my desk. Do I have to constantly remind you that this is my desk?

Ridge: No. It’s– it’s your desk. Always will be.

Eric: It’s my office, right? You know, you’re avoiding me. You know what I’m talking about.

Ridge: Dad, are you nuts? I haven’t been avoiding you. I’ve just been busy with work and this whole thing with Steffy, Sheila being around.

Eric: Oh, we’ve all been worried about Steffy. All of us are worried about her, but she– she moved out of the cliff house and she’s perfectly safe with me, you know that.

Ridge: I do know that. I appreciate you taking her in.

Eric: Yeah, well, your appreciation doesn’t cover the fact that you’ve been avoiding me. I mean, what is it? Have you decided I’m no longer a vital part of this– this business I created, Forrester Creations? Because I am, you know.

Finn: I– I’ve been texting and calling and… you haven’t responded.

[ Steffy sighing ]

Steffy: I know. I’m– I’m sorry. I guess I haven’t really figured out what– what to say.

Finn: How about you say “I love you” and… you love our family because I know that’s how you feel.

Steffy: Finn, of course I do. That hasn’t changed.

Liam: Ah, wow. Um… it’s really nice to hear you… hear you say those things, I mean, about losing your way with Thomas.

Hope: Just trying to take accountability, Liam.

Liam: And that’s– that’s great, but you– I mean, you know how much everyone admires you and loves you.

Hope: Do you? Do you still feel that way about me?

Eric: You know, our designs together, our… our collaborations, they’ve all been so successful and part of the most celebrated collections ever.

Ridge: I learned from the best.

[ Eric chuckling ]

Eric: Simple. Classic. Pure. And each one with just a little… a little twist. That became our calling card. Just a little twist and a surprise that you didn’t think was coming.

Ridge: Yes. You created a legacy, Dad.

Eric: Yeah. I wanna do one more. I wanna do a new collection. The most sophisticated, elegant couture collection that Forrester has ever done.

Ridge: Really?

Eric: Yeah.

Ridge: You’re aiming pretty high there.

Eric: You don’t think I could do it.

Ridge: Didn’t say you couldn’t do it, I just–

Eric: Yeah, well, I’m gonna do it. I have great ideas. I just need to get them all down on paper. I need to do that right away. Are– are you even hearing me?

Ridge: I’m– I’m hearing you. No, no, no. I got it. I’m hearing you. Just don’t know where it’s landing yet because you– look. You’ve inspired me my whole life with your drive and– and– and your talent. And I think, maybe, you should now inspire another generation, your great-grandkids. This is time that’s never gonna come back to you. So relax.

[ Phone chiming ]

Ridge: Sorry. Take it easy. You deserve it.

Steffy: Please, don’t ever doubt my love for you, Finn. We have been through so much, but I am still in shock about what happened at the beach with Kelly, and I still don’t understand why you were hugging Sheila.

Finn: Look, I haven’t heard from Sheila since that day at the beach.

Steffy: Finn, that makes me even more nervous. When Sheila is quiet, that is when she’s the most dangerous.

Finn: Okay, I won’t let her near you or the kids.

Steffy: I wanna believe that, Finn, I really do.

Finn: Steffy, you can, okay? Don’t doubt that.

Steffy: But your connection with her. Your vulnerability and her determination to be part of your life and Hayes’ life. That is why I’m here, Finn. I had to take the kids. I needed to protect them.

Finn: Okay, I know, okay? And I understand your perspective. But I need my wife and I need my family. I can’t spend another night away from you.

Liam: Of course, I love you. I’ll always love you. I’ll always… admire you. I mean, you– you’re an incredible person. It’s just– it’s just, a lot has happened, you know?

Hope: I know. I know and I am– I’m sorry. I’m sorry for my part in that.

Liam: And I believe you. And I’m sorry for mine. But, it’s like you said, Thomas is a one woman man and I’m… …not.

Hope: And I do deserve to be with someone who doesn’t have a divided heart.

Liam: Yeah, you do.

Hope: But I also realize I might have brought that up to try and justify what I did with Thomas.

Liam: Wow. Um… I mean, I– I appreciate that. Maybe it was just a– a rationalization after the fact, but… you weren’t wrong about me and my history.

Hope: Okay, but… what I’m asking, what I want to know is if you think that is something we can work through together and– and– and grow together and move past, because, Liam, I just want to make sure that, that we are very clear about these next steps moving forward and that this is not going to be something that we regret doing. That what we had didn’t just disappear overnight. And if we wanted to, Liam, we could work to reunite our family.

Liam: Can I– okay. Um, can I ask you something, or maybe ask you– ask you to ask yourself something? You said that– that it always felt like Steffy was this third person in our relationship, right? I mean… did it feel like that? Even during the good years? The years that I was completely devoted to you without incident? Because if it did, how do you know that Steffy wouldn’t always be there, right? In the same way that– that Thomas would probably always be there for me.

Eric: So, you think I should just take it easy.

Ridge: Yes, you deserve it.

Eric: Yeah, what I deserve is a viable spot in this company.

Ridge: Dad, you are this company. No one ever said otherwise.

Eric: Yeah, but what you’re saying is my contributions are not needed anymore.

Ridge: That’s not what I’m saying at all. I’m saying that the people that you picked, the people that you hired and trained are doing what you asked them to do. They’re running this company the way that you wanted to. We have– we have new clientele, we have more contemporary designs, and it’s working. And you, you should enjoy that. Just go play golf or learn how to be better at pickleball so you can beat donna.

Eric: So, I should just ride off into the sunset?

Ridge: No– no, I’m not–

Eric: I’m not some old dinosaur, you know, Ridge. I may not pick up the pencil and sketch as much as I used to when I was a young man, but that doesn’t mean I’ve lost my touch.

Hope: Well, that’s… kind of a difficult question for me to answer. I mean, how do I feel about Steffy? I mean, really, isn’t that a question for you to answer? I mean, I know you’ve seen her recently, so… I– where– where do the two of you stand, Liam? How do you feel about Steffy?

Liam: You– you know this already. My feelings are… really complicated right now. Hey, look. We could– we could talk about Steffy, we could talk about Thomas, but maybe right now, we just keep it here.

Hope: Okay then. What I want to know, Liam, is do you want to make this work? Do we try to hold this together for Beth? I mean, I know I messed up, Liam. I know I did and I’m sorry, but I– I can’t– I can’t take it back.

Liam: No, I suppose you can’t. I love you… and I… loved our life together. But I’m supposed to be honest with myself right now, right? I’m not gonna be able to do it. I’m not gonna be able to forget and I’m not gonna be able to forgive. Not you and Thomas.

Finn: I mean, just think about everything that we have overcome to be together. I’m never gonna stop fighting for you, Steffy.

Steffy: Finn, I never wanted us to be apart.

Finn: We don’t have to be, okay?

Steffy: But Sheila won’t stop.

Finn: I understand why you don’t feel safe at home right now, but we don’t have to stay there. Look, I could– I could move in here… okay, and we could be together again as a family. I know you miss that. I know you miss me. Steffy, all I wanna do is hold you in my arms and protect you, so please, let me help you feel safe again. Let me remind you why we fought so hard for each other, why we’re meant to be together. I miss you and the kids more than anything in the world and I can’t spend another night away from my wife and children.

Ridge: Dad, what’s going on? No one’s putting you out to pasture.

Eric: No, no. Golf, pickleball, anything to keep me out of this building, out of this business that I created.

Ridge: Well, I don’t know what I said, but I didn’t mean to offend you.

Eric: Yeah, well, you did. I am just a little offended. You mean to replace me, that’s what you mean. You know, you need to be careful, Ridge. I’ve been in this game a lot longer than you have.

Ridge: Okay.

Eric: You can’t just put me off in a corner some place and dust me off and bring me out once in a while to give yourself some credibility.

Ridge: Oh, okay. That’s– wow. I didn’t mean to be disrespectful.

Eric: Well, it was. It was very disrespectful.

Ridge: What are you looking for?

Eric: I’m looking for my stapler.

Ridge: Your stapler?

Eric: Yeah. My stapler. The stapler has been here for like, 50 years, on my desk. My desk. It’s my stapler and I don’t know where it is.

Ridge: All right, well, your stapler stopped working about 20 years ago, so.

Eric: Where is it?

Ridge: I don’t know. Probably got thrown out. We got you a new one.

Eric: Thrown out? My stapler? You threw out my stapler out because it’s old and it’s worn out a little bit? You threw it away? You gonna do that with me too, Ridge?

Hope: So, this is it then? You can’t forgive me.

Liam: I’m sorry.

Hope: No, I’m– I’m sorry, Liam. I’m sorry. Uh… I– I just, I think I misread it. Um… but at least now we know, right? I love you, Liam.

Liam: I love you, too.

Finn: Look, I know I’ve made mistakes, Steffy, and I own them. I’m not gonna make any excuses for what happened with Sheila. It’s– it’s inexcusable. But you have to give me, you have to give us another chance, okay? You said you love me.

Steffy: I do.

Finn: Okay, then let’s work through this, honey. Together.

Steffy: We can’t ignore Sheila. The threat she poses.

Finn: Okay, I will never let her harm you or the children again. You can trust me. Come back to me. Look, we lost each other once, but we found our way back, right? I mean, remember Monaco. Think about Monaco. You remember what it was like when we were reunited.

[ Bell tolling ]

Finn: You remember. I know you do. When we were able to hold each other again.

Steffy: Of course I remember. I thought you were dead. I thought I never was– I thought I never was gonna see you again. It was a miracle.

Finn: Yeah, it was. To have my arms around you and to see the look in your eyes. That’s when I knew there was nothing that was ever gonna keep us apart, not even death. I just– I love you. I love you so much, Steffy, and I can’t lose you, okay? So tell me that you feel the same way. Tell me that you never want to be apart again.

Thomas: Okay, um, liam got in your head, right? ‘Cause he’s– he’s bringing up the past. But you know that I’m not that person anymore, and that– you know you pursued me, right? You’re the one who kissed me, and… but obviously, that doesn’t mean that I don’t love you, ’cause I do.

Hope: I know you do.

Thomas: And like I said, there really is only one thing I can do.

[ Hope scoffs ]

Hope: One thing you can do, thomas, what… what does that mean?

Steffy: You’re really serious. Even if you’ve gotten through to hope, you’ve got her to open her eyes about my brother, you’re– you’re not willing to take her back.

Rj: You’re– you’re saying things might not be over between hope and liam? What happened?

Brooke: Oh, something seems to have clicked inside of hope.

Ridge: Forgive me if I’m being a little skeptical after, um, everything.

Brooke: Well, a mother knows. And I really do believe that hope and liam could save their marriage.

Ridge: All right. Not that I’m not happy about your optimism, but… they signed divorce papers.

Brooke: But they didn’t file them.

Ridge: Oh, okay, and you think that’s enough for them to work everything out?

Brooke: That is one factor, right? But also, hope is different. She’s back to the way she used to be. She’s more focused, more clear-headed, more determined. I know she has regrets for what she did, but her eyes are wide open now. And spending the day with liam at beth’s birthday party, I think, impacted her in a way that she didn’t expect.

Rj: Well, yeah, but I mean, do you think a– a nice afternoon is enough to get her to forget about all the damage that’s been done?

Brooke: Well, I think liam talking to her really got through to her. Also, everything that she said to me, I– I just really believe that there’s a chance that hope and liam can work things out.

Liam: I’m always gonna love hope, I’m always gonna care for her, and I’m always gonna worry about her, right? So that– that– that just means I’m not gonna stop trying to convince her who thomas really is.

Steffy: Thomas has changed. He’s not the same person he used to be.

Liam: Okay, but yeah. But whether he’s new and improved or not, he was obsessed with her for years, and that obsession caused him to keep traumatizing her over and over again. Now m– now, maybe that part of him is at bay, fine, but it’s still there. And for hope to ignore that… it’s not good for her.

Thomas: One thing I can do is… back off, hope. Not because I’m afraid of becoming that guy again, ’cause I’m not. I’m not that person anymore, and you know that as well as I do. It’s because I love you.

[ Thomas chuckles ] And I– I want you to have what you want, and if that’s liam… then I have to accept that.

Hope: You’d be willing to do that? You’D… you’d be willing to let me go? Before my doctor and I chose breztri for my copd,

Brooke: I really think this birthday party was an eye-opener for hope. Spending time with beth and liam, and celebrating their daughter’s birthday together, and then talking to liam afterwards. I think it all opened her eyes to see what she might be missing if she went through with this divorce.

Ridge: Yeah, well I’m not convinced that liam, uh, is ready to forgive her.

Brooke: He does love her. And he worked really hard on reminding her the heartbreak that they both went through. And the part that thomas played. I mean, we can’t ignore what he did, ridge, really–

Ridge: Well, we can, because this really isn’t about thomas at all, is it?

Brooke: No, no, it’s not, actually. It is about my daughter, and the decision that she made. She went against her morals and her principles, and she wasn’t herself. But now she’s opening her eyes. She’s starting to see what she really wants.

Rj: Her family. And liam.

Steffy: I understand your concerns about thomas, but you can’t deny that he is a different person today.

Liam: Okay. All right. Let’s– let’s say that’s true. As far as hope and i are concerned, it doesn’t just magically erase the memory of her kissing him in rome.

Steffy: But you said you have gotten through to hope.

Liam: Well, I– yeah, I hope I have.

Steffy: Okay, then I– I– I’m just really confused, because if you did, aren’t you willing to forgive her? Keep your family intact?

Hope: Thomas, I’M… I’m sorry.

Thomas: No. You don’t have to apologize. We’ve been through too many dark times in the past, and I wish I could go back and change that, but I can’T. All I can do is show you that I’m a changed man now.

Hope: [ Chuckles ] None of it’s– none of it’s been easy.

Thomas: No. No, it’s not. And I don’t want to cause you any more trouble. If you want to go back and be with liam, I totally understand, and I am not gonna stop you.

Thomas: That’s how much I love you. Where are you going?

Ridge: What about hope’s idea that steffy was always in their marriage from day one? Is it just gonna go away or–

Brooke: No, I don’t think so. I mean, that is still a factor that will need to be addressed. But I also think that, with an unconscious way for hope to justify what she was doing with thomas.

Rj: So, you– you do think a reconciliation’s possible, though, right?

Brooke: After we spoke, she ran out of there, and I imagine she went over to thomas’S. She’s probably ending it with him right now.

Hope: This wasn’t fair to you, thomas. I– I got your hopes up. I kissed you in rome, and now… so much more. Yet I’m the one walking away. I mean, what kind of person does that?

Thomas: Hold on. I came into this situation with my eyes wide open.

Hope: Well, I– I should have stopped it. But I didn’t, though, because I got so caught up in my feelings for you, because it– and– and now look. Look at what I’ve done. I’ve– I’ve hurt you. I’ve been hurting so many people, it’s like I’m a human wrecking ball.

Thomas: No, no, no. Stop. I’m not– I’m not gonna let you do that, beat yourself up. I’m never gonna regret what happened between us. From rome through these past few weeks. This is on both of us, all right? Not just you.

Hope: Thank you.

Thomas: You decide you want to go be with your family, to be with liam and– and beth, I’m not gonna keep you from that.

Hope: Is that something you’re okay with?

Thomas: No. It is– I’m 100 percent not okay with this. It sucks! Of course I wanna be with you, I love you, but… you wanna go be there, for your daughter. I mean, if I stood in the way of that, I would never be able to forgive myself, so I– I have to stand back, and let you go.

Hope: Thomas–

Thomas: Hey. I love you. That’s never gonna change.

[ Thomas chuckles ]

Hope: But it’s, um… our history–

Thomas: Yeah, I know.

Hope: Yeah, um… so I– um, yeah. We should– we should put a stop to this. It needs to end. I have, um… hurt a lot of people, it’s hurting a lot of people. I’m hurting a lot of people, and I… I do want the chance to try to repair the damage I’ve done. But I want to try to make my marriage work for the sake of my daughter. So… uh, yeah. Uh… I don’t even know if it’s– if it’s going to work, but I– i have to at least give it a try. I’m sorry.

Steffy: Liam, come on. It’s me. It’s not like I don’t know you. I know how forgiving you are, and it’s obvious how excited you are that you’ve gotten through to hope. Convinced her to stay away from thomas. And if that is true, I– I hope you’re willing to put your marriage back together. There’s nothing worse than a broken marriage.

Liam: I really appreciate that. But… [ Clears throat ] …I think two different things can be true at the same time. You know, on the one hand, yeah, I really– I really want to know that I’ve gotten through to hope when it comes to thomas, but on the other… what I’m going through right now… is wondering how I ever let you go.

The thought of getting screened

Hope: I’m sorry. I am so ashamed of my behavior, for leading you on. I just… hope that maybe someday you can forgive me.

Thomas: I’m– I’m not gonna pretend like this is easy. I mean, I would never trade our time together for anything. Knowing that I’m not gonna be able to kiss you again, to… but we do have the– the beautiful memories.

Hope: I’m sorry things are ending this way. I never intended to hurt you, to hurt anyone.

Thomas: I know. And, um… I want you to know, I won’t breathe a word of this to anyone. Yeah.

Ridge: I never wanted hope and liam’s marriage to be in trouble. I’m just a concerned father, that’s all.

Brooke: Well, we are all concerned, ridge.

Rj: Yeah, it’s been a mess for everyone involved, dad.

Ridge: Yep. And liam will always love steffy.

[ Phone chiming ]

[ Steffy sighing ]

Liam: Hi.

Hope: Hi.

Liam: Uh, I got your message. It sounded important, but not about beth, right?

Hope: No. No, no, no. Don’t worry. Come in.

[ Clears throat ] I, um… I just wanted to touch base after the talk that we had. I think you made some good points, and I just want to put everything on the table.

Liam: Oh, yeah? Okay.

Hope: Um, obviously, beth’s birthday, um, was really special. You know, the three of us together, like that, it– it just was nice, to forget about all the chaos going on, and…

Liam: Yeah.

Hope: …To focus on our family.

Liam: Well, it’s a beautiful family. I love you both, I hope you know that.

Hope: Oh, I do.

Liam: Good.

Hope: Good. Um… okay. So, I just– I wanted to make sure that you know that I heard you. Everything you said. Your warning about thomas, and… agreeing to work with thomas put a strain on our relationship. Then I kissed him in rome. And you saw it, and I am so sorry for– for doing that and– and causing you all of this hurt and all of this pain, and for jeopardizing our family in that way. I mean, we’ve– we’ve signed divorce papers. Uh… but as you mentioned… those papers haven’t been filed yet.

Liam: I don’t– I don’t– um… [ Clears throat ] Don’t really know where you’re going with this.

Hope: I just can’t help but wonder if maybe there’s a reason for that. Why we’re dragging our feet? And I still stand by everything that I told you. I deserve to be with a man who doesn’t have divided feelings, and steffy has played a part in our relationship, but that is because of your feelings for her, but to have you sit here and tell me that you acknowledge that, that you’ve made mistakes, and take accountability, it just– it meant a lot to hear that. And obviously, I’ve– I’ve made mistakes, a lot, that I am not proud of. Um… ’cause I’m not perfect. Uh, but, um, basically, what I’m trying to say is, you know how much I value our family, and… beth’s happiness. And so I was wondering if… if maybe you wanted to try to give it one last shot. For her. I mean, for us. I– I just– I just want to know if– if it is too late.

Steffy: So, you think hope actually heard you? Took your concerns seriously?

Liam: I’m– I’m just saying I think maybe I got through to hope about who thomas really is.

Brooke: Sounds like you and liam had a very good conversation. You don’t know how hopeful this makes me. Yes, I agree with liam, you lost your way. But not anymore. You have to tell thomas it’s over and you have to save your marriage.

Thomas: Okay, so you wanna know what’s going on with hope and me?

Ridge: Seems like a reasonable question. You guys went through a lot, so yeah, I would like to know what’s goin’ on.

Thomas: Well, uh, we are co-parenting douglas, and we’re killin’ it on hope for the future.

Ridge: Please don’t do that. I know what brooke walked in on. She’s not happy about it, I’m not happy about it and I’m concerned. So, I need you to be honest with me.

Thomas: I wasn’t ever trying to hide anything from you, dad. I just– whole situation’s complicated and I–

Rj: Dad! You missed it. Oh! Thomas, hey. Hey. Am I, uh, am I interrupting or–

Ridge: I was just talking to thomas about his relationship with hope.

Liam: Thomas is your brother. You’re gonna defend him. I totally get that.

Steffy: Hope kissed him in rome, not the other way around.

Liam: Yeah, exactly. Right? So, as much as I don’t trust thomas, this really isn’t about him. This is about hope and her choices.

Steffy: And putting your marriage and your future in jeopardy?

Hope: I know it seems like to everyone that I went astray or that thomas led me there and that’s not the case, mom. I had my reasons. Thomas loves me and only me. And that is an assurance that liam cannot provide me because of our history with steffy and I kept hoping that maybe one day, he would change, and I just– I just don’t wanna live my life like you had to with ridge and his divided loyalties.

Brooke: Honey, I understand that. And I respect it because you are respecting yourself, but I have to wonder if there’s something else going on here. I mean, you’ve only been talking like this since you got involved with thomas. All these criticisms towards liam. I have to wonder if it’s some way of justifying your behavior? Being unfaithful to your husband with thomas? These hands used to hold me as a little girl.

Ridge: Well, I’m not gonna get into this. Not now, not with rj here.

Rj: Yeah. I don’t wanna get into it either, but I will say, I’m really worried about my sister. I mean, hope and liam, they have a great family. I mean, after seeing them today with beth, hope is really happy.

Thomas: She should be. Especially today, I mean, it’s an important moment. Seeing your child happy, fulfilled, succeeding, it’s– it’s amazing. I’m glad it went so well.

Rj: Yeah, it did. I know that you and hope kissed in rome and I don’t know if anything else has been going on, but after seeing them today, together, with beth… I just, I really think that hope should go back to liam.

Steffy: So, you told hope all of this? That she lost her way, thomas can never be trusted and you think she heard you?

Liam: I– I hope she heard me. I– I desperately hope she heard me, yeah. What?

Steffy: No, nothing.

Liam: What?

Steffy: I’m– I’m just– I’m confused. I’m just trying to figure out what this– this– this means.

Liam: What th– I don’t– I don’t follow.

Steffy: Okay, you and hope signed divorce papers. Your marriage was on the verge of being over. Are you telling me that’s not the case anymore? You want hope back?

Brooke: I admire the fact that you would like to be with a man that is committed to you and only to you. And you deserve that. But I have to wonder if that’s just an excuse to justify your behavior. I know you, hope, and I know that you feel bad about what you’ve done with thomas. You know, at the party, I could see the love between you and liam and beth. What a sweet little family you are. And that’s still there. And you could have that. But now you signed the divorce papers, so–

Hope: Well, apparently, they haven’t been filed just yet.

Brooke: No? Well, that’s great! Honey, why don’t you just talk to me? Tell me what you’re feeling.

Hope: You know, obviously today, seeing beth at her birthday party with her dad… had an impact on me. Yeah, uh, I– I was wrong for what I did with thomas, mom, but at the same time, I… I do have feelings for him and thomas does love me, fully, with his whole heart, but I think you can also be right too, which is that… I don’t know. Maybe I am looking for excuses for my behavior. Liam came over. He, um, reminded me of everything we had been through, with beth and thomas’s involvement in that and uh… maybe I… didn’t want to think about that because of how painful it was.

Brooke: Yeah. Thomas is wrong.

Hope: I do believe that thomas has changed. But mom, maybe I have changed too because when I look in the mirror… I don’t know if I recognize myself anymore. I think I just… I wanted a distraction. There was hope for the future, and then there was the show and then there was italy and then there was thomas and… I got caught up in him.

Brooke: Well, like you mentioned, nobody knows the full extent of your involvement with thomas, except for ridge and me.

Hope: Well, no one should know because it is none of their business.

Brooke: I’m relieved to hear you say that, sweetie, because this is hard for me, too, you know. As a parent, I hate to see you suffer. But… I am relieved. I am because I can see. I can see that you’re becoming yourself again.

Hope: Yeah, I guess we’ll have to see if it’s too late.

Thomas: Rj, have I told you lately how grateful I am to have you back in town?

Rj: Come on, thomas, I’m being serious.

Thomas: I know. I know you are. So am I. ‘Kay, look at– I really respect where you’re coming from, both of you and it’s kind of nice, having family around, lookin’ out for me.

Ridge: I couldn’t agree more. We’re stronger together.

Thomas: I promise, like the both of you, I– I just want hope’s happiness. Actually had a similar conversation with steffy. Look, um… I promise both of you that I’m not gonna be the one who hurts hope. Not ever again, ‘kay? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I actually do have a few things to take care of, so I’ll see you.

Brooke: It’s never too late, honey. And the logans never give up. Come on, you know that. You and liam, you have such a beautiful, special family. And yeah, there are issues, but you love each other. And unfortunately, you got swept up with thomas, and… things happened, but that’s over. You can focus on your family. And you said so yourself, you didn’t file those divorce papers. So? That means it’s not too late, right? It’s never too late.

Hope: You’re right. You’re right, mom. You’re right.

Liam: I feel like you’re not hearing me. I might have actually gotten through to hope. That’s big, if true.

Steffy: Yeah, that– it is, it’s big. It’s– it’s great. I’m just wondering if you’re not hearing yourself. You think you got hope to wake up, come to her senses. And if she is willing to put an end to whatever is going on with thomas, are you willing to forgive her? Repair your marriage? Keep your family intact?

[ Knocking on door ]

Thomas: All right. Hey! Hey, come on in.

Hope: Hi.

Thomas: I, uh– I wasn’t sure I was actually gonna see you, you know? I hadn’t really communicated and beth’s party and all, and I– I– we already talked about this, but I wish I could have been there. You know, but with liam and the possibility of drama.

Hope: Yeah. I’m– it was, uh, it was great. It was, um… big day.

Thomas: Well, good. Well, I’m just glad to be a part of that big day now. Missed you.

Thomas: Hey. What’s– what’s wrong? To 50 years with my best friend.

[ Phone chiming ]

Ridge: So, you came by just to say hello?

Rj: Yes and I might have brought you something, but you cannot tell mom. You cannot tell mom!

Ridge: Don’t put me in that position. I don’t want to do that, I don’t want to have secrets with your mom. This is not what we do, unless cupcakes are involved. Ah, you’re a good man. Thank you. Someone raised you right.

Rj: Course, but hey! I expect to see you by the pool tomorrow, okay? I got some core routines we should try out.

Ridge: I’ll be there, for sure.

Rj: Come on! I’m just lookin’ out for you.

Ridge: Mm-hmm. Lookin’ out for a lot of people these days, aren’t you?

Rj: I– I hope it comes across that way, ’cause I’m not, like, I’m not like indicting him or anything. I mean, I still don’t fully comprehend why hope kissed thomas in rome, but, I mean, she has a family. It’s worth fighting for, right?

Ridge: Yeah.

Brooke: That marriage is definitely worth fighting for and so is your health, mister. I see that!

Ridge: How did this–

Brooke: Why don’t you enjoy it now because tomorrow, you’re gonna be working on your core.

Ridge: This is the most unkindest cut of all. You knew she was comin’.

Rj: No, I didn’T. I didn’t know. So mom, how did– how did everything go with hope?

Brooke: Good. Turns out, she might think that her marriage is worth fighting for. It may not be the end for hope and liam.

Steffy: It’s a logical question. After everything you two have been through, what you mean to each other, hope suddenly has this epiphany. Are you willing to fight for your marriage? Look, what– what’s going on with finn and me, it’s awful and I don’t want the same for you and hope–

Liam: I– I get what you are saying. How ’bout this, all right? I love hope, of course, but it’s not that simple. This is not about getting back together with her, for me. Sh– she’s the mother of my child, right? We built a whole life together. I still care about her and her well-being and her safety and that’s why I’m not giving up trying to get through to her because this is about… it’s about hope becoming hope again. Finding her way back to herself, and… away from thomas.

Thomas: I can see something’s going on. What is it?

Hope: Sweetheart,

Liam: Aw. Aw.

Thomas: Hope, something’s obviously different about you. What’s wrong?

Liam: How do you turn

Hope: I don’t– I don’t– well, I don’t know. I don’t know what I’m doing. I mean, what are– what have we done? I don’t–

Thomas: Okay. Uh, obviously, something’s wrong. Um, something’s really bothering you. I can tell, okay? So, what happened at beth’s birthday?

Hope: Just reminded me of, um… all of those… hurtful things we had been through.

Thomas: Ah. With, uh, with me. Things that were my fault. Right. Um… you know, I’M… way past that. You know that because, well, when you kissed me at the colosseum, that was beautiful. And these nights that we’ve had recently have been wonderful. And I promise, I– I– I love you in a true way, and I do, I do want a life with you.

Hope: It was just hard. Being with beth and liam and our little family unit together and… liam and I, we went to, um, drop off her gifts back at the cabin and we got to talking and he reminded me of all of the pain and suffering that we had to go through during those years when we thought we had almost lost her and also, of course, reminded me about… you keeping that truth from me.

Thomas: I– I see what you’re saying. But that’s– that was a different me. You know I’m not that person anymore. I’m so sorry that that’s a part of my past. I wish I could go back and rewrite it, but I can’t, right? But you know that I’m a different person, I mean you’ve– you’ve– you’ve– you’ve told me that, over and over again. So, I’m just, um… I guess I’m– I’m a little lost. Um… did liam get in your head or something?

Hope: But everything liam said was true.

Thomas: Yeah. Okay. Um… all right, well then… I guess there’s only one thing I can do.

Hope: I haven’T.

Liam: You still kissed him. And I guess I just… I think if there were ever a day for you to step out of that fog and see thomas for who he really is… it’s beth’s birthday.

Thomas: Sorry I missed the party. I thought it was better I steered clear though.

Steffy: I don’t think so.

Thomas: Come on.

Steffy: It’s too cute, I don’t need this.

Thomas: It’s very cute.

Steffy: Yeah, donna and, uh, katie and the bodyguard took kelly out after, get some ice cream.

Thomas: Ice cream.

Steffy: Yeah.

Thomas: Sure it’s going to be very easy to put them to sleep.

Steffy: Well, I think they’ll crash pretty quick.

Thomas: How about you? You’re gonna crash quick? Look, I know it’s– I feel terrible, you– it might be hard for you right now and– but I am glad that you took the kids and you moved in here ’cause I’m sure you feel a lot safer.

Steffy: Yeah. I mean, yeah, it is– it is hard, also for liam and hope. What exactly is going on between you and hope?

[ Thomas laughs ]

[ Brooke moaning ]

Ridge: I am so grateful to have my logan back in my arms.

Brooke: Yeah, to do more of this.

[ Brooke moaning ] I’m grateful too, I am.

[ Brooke chuckles ]

Ridge: Okay. [ Groans ] Tell me about the birthday party. I really wanted to be there and then the day just got away from me, I don’t know what happened.

Brooke: Well, it’s okay. Everybody had a lot of fun. You’ve got to see this. Two sassy sisters.

Ridge: Ah, double trouble. Look at these guys.

Brooke: Oh, isn’t it cute? Beth is precious. She is a true miracle. Something I know isn’t lost on hope and liam. Maybe beth can help make another miracle happen.

[ Brooke sighs ]

Brooke: What? [ Laughs ]

Ridge: I don’t know, you just seem lighter.

Brooke: Yeah. Yeah, I guess I am. I mean, spending time with family does that to me. Spending time with you does that to me too.

Ridge: Hmm.

Brooke: Call me an optimist but seeing liam and hope together at their daughter’s party was really promising. And I know that they signed divorce papers and that they’re separated but you could still see the love between them.

Ridge: Speaking from experience, a love like that doesn’t just go away.

Brooke: It’s true. But circumstances changed in the worst way possible.

Ridge: You’re talking about my son.

Thomas: Hope and me? Uh, well, we have some press tomorrow.

Steffy: Nice try. Obviously, I know hope kissed you in rome.

Thomas: Yeah.

Steffy: Yeah. And I do know how you felt about her over the years.

[ Thomas scoffs ] Thomas, hope and liam’s marriage seems to be ending. They signed the divorce papers. So what does that mean for you and hope?

Hope: I will never forget how blessed we are to have beth in our lives after all of the heartbreak and all of the pain that we went through.

Liam: Do you really mean that?

Hope: Liam, of course, I do.

Liam: Then how can you have any involvement with thomas whatsoever? Listen, it’s a fact, he’s a brilliant designer. But… I have to ask you, respectfully, have you lost your damn mind?

[ Hope laughs ] Because hope, if thomas had his way, we wouldn’t have celebrated beth’s birthday today. I’m worried about you. I’m worried about your judgment and I’m just– I’m asking you, I’m begging you not to be defensive for one moment and just take a step back. And think about everything that thomas has done to us… and recognize him for the person that he is.

When it comes to getting

your flu shot,

Brooke: If hope and liam only saw what I saw today, what we all saw. How much they still love each other. This is a terrible situation to navigate, but they have been through so much together. They’ve come through so much, ridge, and they still love each other and they’re stronger than ever.

Ridge: And you really want them to reconcile?

Brooke: Yes, of course, I do. And beth, that sweet little innocent girl, she has no idea that her parents are on the verge of a divorce.

Ridge: But staying together for the sake of the kids is not always the best solution.

Brooke: No. But if they really do love each other that much, maybe their love can see them through, right? They just need to keep on fighting. I mean, none of this would have happened if–

Ridge: If it weren’t for thomas. Is that what you were gonna say?

Steffy: Thomas, come on. I know you’ve done a lot of work on yourself. You’re not the same person you used to be. This is hope, remember? She kissed you. You didn’t do anything wrong.

Thomas: Right. Of course.

Steffy: So I have no idea what’s going on with you and hope.

Thomas: Honestly, neither do I. [ Chuckles ]

Steffy: Right.

Thomas: All I want is hope’s happiness.

Steffy: You really feel that way?

Thomas: Yes.

Steffy: If hope wanted to reconcile with liam, repair their marriage, you’d be okay with that?

Liam: She was so excited. Were you there when– when she said that she wishes every day was her birthday?

[ Hope chuckles ]

Hope: Well just wait until she’s older, I’m pretty sure that wish will go away.

Liam: Oh, god, she’s so cute. Just the little– her smile and her laugh and her little giggles. Just, it’s infectious and she gets that from you, obviously.

Hope: Oh, really? Well, what about her power of persuasion? Because I’m pretty sure she gets that from you. I think I might have let her have about four of those seahorse cookies.

Liam: You didn’T.

Hope: I did.

[ Both chuckling ]

Liam: I wish I could persuade you like that. Would’ve saved us a lot of grief. I’ve tried to make sense of what happened, s– seeing you kissing thomas in rome. It was… it was– it was a shock, you know, after all those months of me voicing my concerns and begging you not to let him get close. I mean, I went out there to– to surprise you, to support you, and to stumble upon you kissing him in front of the colosseum…

Hope: Liam… I’m sorry. I– I’m sorry, I– I’ll say it time and time again, I never meant to hurt you.

Liam: Hey, I believe you. I know that it kills you to see me hurt. I know that. That’s why it’s worth trying to get through to you because I don’t– I don’t think this is you. I really think you’ve lost yourself. Just let me help you find your way back. I’m not just accomplished.

Ridge: You think that hope and liam’s marriage is ending because of my son.

Brooke: No, I– I didn’t say that.

Ridge: You’re kind of saying that. Let’s– but let’s– let’s try to remember that hope went after thomas in rome. And you found them in his bed. That means she made the journey.

Brooke: I know. I know, that’s what I’m saying. She’s the one who instigated this. But I just wish that thomas respected her marriage–

Ridge: She doesn’t respect it.

Brooke: Regardless of all that. It doesn’t matter. I just pray that hope and liam find a way through this and manage to reunite their family.

Steffy: I’m serious, thomas. If hope and liam work things out, if they salvage their marriage, you’d be okay with that?

Thomas: Yes. Like I said, I want hope to be happy and fulfilled, okay? And if that’s with liam, then so be it.

Steffy: But you don’t think that’s gonna happen?

Thomas: Well, you said it yourself. All right, they already signed divorce papers. So I think it’s only a matter of time before the marriage is officially over.

Steffy: And you’ll be waiting for her.

Thomas: [ Sighs ]

Liam: Please– please understand. This is not me bashing you, it’s not me criticizing you. I– I’m just– I’m trying to get you to see how far away from hope logan you are.

[ Liam scoffs ] And you know something, it’s– it’s probably just because you’re too good.

Hope: [ Laughs ] Too good?

Liam: Yeah, you’re too good. You are. You always try to see the best in people. You always believe that people can change.

Hope: I hate to break it to you, liam, but that’s why I fell in love with you. You try to live your life that way.

Liam: Yeah, but not when it comes to people like thomas, I shouldn’t do that and you shouldn’t either. You gotta get out– out– outside of this. You gotta end whatever this is that– that’s going on with thomas and– and step over to my side and see what I see so clearly. Because hope, you’re not alone and there is a path back. Arthritis pain?

Thomas: [ Laughs ] That is a forrester original if I’ve ever seen one.

Ridge: Well, I’m just trying to keep up with my trending son. I’m glad you’re here.

Thomas: Thanks.

Ridge: Haven’t really seen enough of each other lately.

Thomas: Well, things have just been crazy ever since the hope for the future rome event.

Ridge: Um, that was a crazy trip, too, wasn’t it? It was fun.

Thomas: Yeah.

Ridge: You worked hard. You worked on your skills. Years and years have finally paid off and now you get to reap your rewards.

Thomas: Yeah, thanks. It means a lot to hear you say that.

Ridge: Speaking of rewards, how is your relationship with hope? And let’s just assume for a moment that it wasn’t just a kiss in rome. What’s going on with the two of you?

Steffy: Well, it seemed like a great party. Kelly recounted every single moment for me. I think she may have had more fun than beth.

Liam: I– I don’t doubt it. And those two, you really couldn’t find a more perfect pair, could you?

Steffy: Yeah.

Liam: I mean, beth just looks up to kelly, like– like she’s the coolest thing ever, you know? And– and kelly, well, she is the coolest, she’s like the most patient older sister you could ask for. It’s just– we– we got really lucky.

Steffy: Yeah, we did. Our big, mixed-up family.

Liam: [ Laughs ] Yeah.

Steffy: So, how did, uh– how things go here with hope?

Liam: Uh, I– I don’t think either one of us wanted to, you know, contaminate beth’s birthday party with our issues, especially since she doesn’t know what’s going on between her parents right now.

Steffy: Yeah, well that’s good.

Liam: It still freaks me out that hope ever turned to thomas in the first place. And I know, but I always felt like, you know, I– I could never get through to her. Like, I– like, no matter how many times I pleaded with her, she just didn’t listen. And today, she kind of did. Like, okay, so– so we’re dropping the presents off at the cabin and it gave us a moment alone to just kind of talk. And… I don’t know, it felt like for the first time, maybe I got through to her.

Brooke: Oh, beth had such a good time at her birthday party, right? She’s so cute, so precious.

Hope: I know, she’s our little miracle girl.

Brooke: Yeah, that’s true. You and liam can never forget what you went through to make sure that she was a part of your lives.

Hope: Did you two plan this? Because liam was over here after the party and he felt the need to remind me of everything we had been through with thomas as well. Not like I would ever forget that horrible night.

Brooke: I know we’re talking about ridge’s son here. And yes, I do see some changes with him, for the better, but we can never forget what he did. How he almost deprived you of raising your daughter, being with her.

Hope: No, I– I hear what you’re saying, I do. And I heard liam too.

Brooke: You did?

Hope: Yes, mom, I did. Uh, liam thinks that i have lost my way and he’s obviously still hurt by what he saw, um, when I kissed thomas in rome.

Brooke: Thankfully, that’s all he knows about.

Hope: Yes, that is all he knows about. But seeing him with beth at the party, how happy she was seeing us together and what an amazing father he is. It just, um… I don’t know, it put things into perspective a little bit for me. So, uh, maybe liam is right and I have lost my way. Uh, ’cause everything I’ve done, I mean, cheating on my husband, sleeping with another man. I mean, that’s not me, right? How could I possibly do that? I– I just think the problem is maybe I… don’t know who I am anymore.

Brooke: [ Chuckles ] Wow. I mean, this is actually– this is– this is great, honey. Really, I– I’m glad to hear this because it means you’re coming back to yourself. I mean, I can see it in your face and in your eyes. You’re being honest. And yes, you got swept up with thomas, but you’re gonna have to put an end to that. And you’re gonna have to focus on your family because I know how much you still love them. You do. So, fight for your family. Please, hope, it’s not too late. It’s never too late.

Hope: Okay! Uh, time for presents, everyone!

Liam: Yeah!

Katie: Yay, presents.

Liam: What’d you get me?

Donna: Yay, presents!

Brooke: Honey, this is your life. This is your family.

Rj: I like ’em. It’s a good look.

Katie: Very rock ‘n’ roll.

Hope: All right! Okay. All right, do you wanna start with this one? This one?

Beth: Uh, this one.

Liam: Good choice.

Steffy: I can’t believe you put out the most recent hope for the future collection and people are already hungry for more. How are the designs coming along?

Ridge: Thomas is very inspired. So am I, by the way, now that brooke and I are back together.

Steffy: Well, I can’t wait to see the designs.

Ridge: What are you doing? You hiding from the birthday party?

Steffy: I don’t hide.

Ridge: Oh.

Steffy: But I don’t want things to be weird with hope. Kelly’s there. Mom has hayes.

Ridge: Sorry about you and finn.

[ Steffy sighing ] Last thing I wanted was for you to follow in my, uh, trauma-filled relationship footsteps. So, what’s goin’ on? Talk to me. How are you?

Steffy: Yeah, I’m not really sure how to answer that question.

Ridge: Okay. I know I’m not a world-renowned psychiatrist like some people we know, but, uh… I like to listen, and sometimes, I give some good advice.

Steffy: You do have a way of making me feel better.

Ridge: It’s such a tough time with sheila walking around and messing with your relationship. You did the right thing moving out, moving into granddad’S.

[ Steffy sighing ]

Steffy: I know. I mean, it wasn’t easy, but it was the right thing to do. And thank you for your support. It just kills me, being away from my home… my husband.

Beth: Thank you for my presents. This is the best birthday ever.

Donna: Aw!

Kelly: Happy birthday, beth. I love you so much.

[ All aww-ing ]

Katie: Oh, my gosh!

Donna: Well, I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed being a mermaid today. Katie?

Katie: Oh, yes. No, no, I will never swim without my fin ever again. Although, I think deacon took the prize for the best mermaid.

Deacon: Uh, katie, I think it’s a merman.

Katie: Oh!

Deacon: And, also, um, who the hell knew I’d look so great with red hair?

Katie: The blue scales were a nice touch as well.

[ All chuckling ]

Brooke: Well, my favorite part was spending the day with the best birthday girl ever. Yes.

Kelly: Mine was the cake.

[ All laughing ]

Deacon: That was a close second.

Liam: Yeah!

Hope: Sweetheart, what was your favorite part?

Beth: Being with mommy and daddy. I love you.

[ Donna and hope laughing ]

Hope: Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for hosting. I mean, this was amazing. Beth couldn’t be happier.

Donna: Oh, of course, of course. And you are more than welcome to bring her here any time. Like, every day, if you want. I mean, I love having her here.

[ Donna laughing ]

Hope: Thank you.

Liam: All right, uh, everything’s all packed up. I’m gonna take the presents down to the cabin.

Donna: Oh, um, actually, why don’t you just leave beth here? Yeah? She and kelly can keep on swimming, then.

Brooke: Right! And I could bring her home later.

Liam: Yeah.

Hope: All right. Um, sweetie, we’re just going to go drop the gifts off at the house real fast, but then we’ll be back, okay?

Liam: Yeah, so, we’re gonna see you real soon, but we love you so much! Mm!

Ridge: Finn is a good guy. You know that. Even good guys can have a weakness. And for him, that weakness is sheila. I can’t believe that woman is out of prison.

Steffy: Right? I just want her to stay away from me and my family. She acts like she has this weird claim to finn. It’s twisted. Yeah, she’s his birth mother. Yes, they share the same dna, but she has never been part of his life. Not to mention, she’s a murderous psycho.

Ridge: That she is.

Steffy: What terrifies me, dad, is… what sheila might do to try to get to hayes, her grandson. It just makes me sick to think about it.

Ridge: Well, then, don’t think about it ’cause I will protect you and I will protect your kids.

Steffy: Yeah, you sound like liam.

Ridge: It’s interesting you’d bring him up right now.

Steffy: Why? He’s– he’s kelly’s father.

Ridge: Kelly’s not the only person he’s concerned about. So, what’s going on between the two of you?

Liam: I think… that’s the last of it. Gets better and better, doesn’t it?

Hope: Uh, I mean, every year, I think. “This is a– a good year,” and then the next year comes along and I’m like, “this is a great year too.”

Liam: Yeah, well, let’s enjoy it while we can, ’cause tomorrow we’re gonna wake up and she’s gonna be a teenager and want nothing to do with us, so.

Hope: My mom says it’s the, uh, fastest slowest thing you’ll ever do. I mean, some days, the days go on and on. They seem to last forever. And next thing you know, she’ll be in high school.

Liam: We’ve done right by her, right? You think she’s happy?

Hope: Well, yes, right now. I mean, we still haven’t told her, but…

Liam: Yeah.

Katie: Divorce is so hard on kids. I mean, it just rips your heart out, seeing them hurting like that, knowing that you’re the cause of it. I mean, it’s got to change the way they see the world, the way they deal with relationships.

Brooke: I got a vibe from hope, though. I think she’s not so happy about rushing into this divorce. She and liam really need to fight for their marriage. Then hopefully, they’ll come to their senses before it’s too late.

Steffy: What are you talking about? There’s nothing going on between liam and me.

Ridge: We had a chat.

Steffy: You what?

Ridge: And he told me how he feels about you.

Steffy: Oh, my god. He told you that?

Ridge: Obviously, I don’t support that.

Steffy: Oh, I– I hope not. Yes, finn and I are separated, but we’re not divorced.

Ridge: Sure. But with everything going on, I just have to ask: Did some, uh, some old feelings resurface, maybe?

[ Hope clears throat ]

Liam: I, uh– I mean, I have the papers. They’re in my car.

Hope: Why are they still in your car?

Liam: I just– I knew I would be seeing you today and… technically, we still haven’t filed them yet.

Hope: Was there something you wanted to discuss before we did that?

Liam: Yeah, maybe.

[ Sighs ] Listen, you’ve only gotten more famous since the success of hope for the future and the show in rome, and, you know, eventually, the press is gonna pick up on it and they’re gonna have a field day and I know this because my father is the press.

Hope: Wha– bill would never capitalize on–

Liam: No, no! He– no, he– he wouldn’t, but he’s the first to tell you that the press is not an animal that’s easily controlled, and… I just wanna protect beth because the fact is even seven-year-olds talk.

Hope: Well, their mothers certainly do.

Liam: I don’t– I don’t think she’d understand it.

[ Hope chuckling tearfully ]

Hope: She was so happy today with the two of us. Do we really have to burst her bubble like that? Well, now that she’s back from camp, I, uh– I’ve been telling her that you’ve had a big work project and you’ve been, um, staying the night at work. So, um…

Liam: That’s good. I mean, that– that works for now. It’s just, um… I think soon, we’re gonna have to have a difficult conversation with her.

Hope: I didn’t want this for her, liam.

Liam: I know you didn’T. I didn’t either. But we know why we’re here, so…

Hope: Oh, so you’re still– still upset about thomas, all this.

Liam: Upset, yeah, but… I got us here too. I know that. You hurt me. I don’t really understand why you did it, after– after everything he’s done to us, after– after how obsessed he was with you. I mean, he tried over and over to come between us and you let him over and over again. I get– that’s just– that’s how I feel. It’s just, I can’t– I can’t fathom why you would– why you would kiss him and why you would even let him touch you. You remember everything, right? I mean, you remember everything that– that he did to us, right?

Hope: Liam, I know. I lived it. And that’s why I am so grateful for beth and so blessed to be able to hold her at night. Now, when I read her a story and she falls asleep in my arms, I know what the weight of that means. I know how lucky I am to be able to smell her hair and kiss her cheek and look in her eyes, that just… are your eyes, every single day.

Liam: So for me, that’s the paradox. How do you– how do you turn to the man who tried to keep you from smelling that little girl’s hair and looking into her eyes? I mean, what he did, it was evil, hope. How do you– how do you let him come between us? Pain hits fast.

Rj: I believe that hope loves liam. He’s the one true love of her life.

Brooke: Yes! They just need to remember how much they mean to each other, and how hard they fought to be together. How much they cherish their family.

Steffy: I– I’m not thinking about liam. Right now, I’m focused on my children and trying to find a way to put my family back together.

Ridge: Okay, I know that, but my point is, it would be natural if you were thinking about him.

Steffy: I thought you weren’t advocating for anybody.

Ridge: I’m not! You’re my daughter, I will always be your father, and I just… want you to be happy.

Steffy: Okay. Thank you.

Ridge: Okay.

Liam: I don’t know why I ask you questions like that. I know you remember.

Hope: Mm-hmm. Of course I do. It was the worst night of my life.

Liam: I tried so hard to get to you on that damn island. I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t do it. It was too late. And our daughter was born and she was taken from us. And I think the hardest thing I ever had to do was tell you that we lost our child.

[ Hope sobbing ] At least, that’s what I thought. Turned out that… garbage human being, dr. Buckingham, stole her. He– he stole her and he sold her. To steffy, of all people.

Hope: I was a shell of myself. Wasn’t sure I was ever going to recover from that.

Liam: We just had no idea. We had no idea that steffy was raising our daughter. God, she even named her phoebe, after– after her sister. And, of course, there was this… cosmic connection between you and beth. Of course there was, and of course you started bonding with her, even if you didn’t know why. Do you see why I’ll never be able to forgive thomas? Because he knew. He knew that phoebe was beth. He knew that our daughter was alive and he didn’t– he didn’t tell us the truth. He used that information to manipulate you. And thank god…

[ Liam scoffing ] That douglas just– just overheard thomas speaking the truth and thank god that douglas was courageous enough to come to me and tell me.

Douglas: Phoebe is

baby beth.

Liam: That first time that I held beth as beth… whoa. It was like… it was like a miracle, and all I could think about was, you had– you had to experience that with me. You had to experience the same thing, and I– I would do anything. I would do anything to get to you, to tell you, to show you.

…And he knew

and he kept it from you! And thomas knew, you know. He– he got word and he was willing to do anything to stop that from happening. I had to fight the guy! Do you remem– I mean, I fought– I fought the guy to stop him from kidnapping you.

[ Hope sobbing ] It was so worth it, because… when I got through to you…

[ Hope sobbing ]

Hope: She’s alive!

Liam: …And I made you see that miracle… hope, it was like– it was like a light switch went on in your eyes. It was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. And thomas wanted that switch turned off. He was content to let you grieve your own daughter forever. Listen… we’re only as good as our worst choices and I know this because I am no exception. But thomas is dangerous. He’s a dangerous person and yes, I’m angry, and yes, I’m hurt, and yes, I don’t understand why you would turn to him, but the fact is, I still love you and I still care about you and I just need– I need you to know, whatever happens between us, you are better than him.

Brooke: Oh, I’ve always dreamed of being a mermaid.

Katie: I’ve always thought of you as more of a siren.

Brooke: A siren. Well, except for the singing.

Donna: A siren giggle, then.

[ All chuckling ]

Both: Let’s go, let’s go.

Donna: Oh, gia, the lifeguard is down there for you.

Hope: Go ahead, sweetie. We’ll be right behind you. Okay?

Donna: Don’t forget sunblock.

Beth: My mermaid name is jasmine.

Kelly: I’m layla.

Brooke: They’re so cute.

Donna: Of course, of course. By the way, where’s– where’s douglas?

Hope: Oh, he is at sleep away camp, very first time.

Katie: I remember when will went to sleep away camp for the first time. He didn’t want to come home and I was like, “wait a minute, don’t you miss your mother?”

Hope: Well, douglas is having a blast.

Brooke: Oh, and ridge and eric said they’re going to be on their way over here as soon as they wrap things up at forrester.

Katie: Do they get fins, too?

Donna: Oh, now, that I would pay for.

[ All laughing ] Speaking of which, shame, uh, carter is busy.

Katie: Oh, it is a shame, isn’t it? Um, you know, about the guest list, is liam coming?

Hope: Um, yes, but actually just so you all know to be careful, uh, liam and I, we haven’t had the talk with beth yet about our separation.

Katie: Yeah.

Ridge: Are you going to beth’s birthday party or is that your new look?

Rj: You’re very funny. No, I– well, yes, I am headed there now, but I actually– I invited liam over to have just a little talk with him. I was wondering if you two might want to be in on that.

Eric: That’s a good idea. I’d like to speak to him myself.

Liam: Rj? You wanted to talk? I got your message.

Rj: Yeah.

Liam: Why does this feel like an ambush?

Rj: No, no, I– I thought it’d be better to meet at forrester. It’s neutral territory.

Liam: You th– that– you think this is neutral territory? Dude, we got to get to that party. Thank you, eric, by the way, for letting donna host it.

Eric: It’s donna’s home, too. We love having the family over.

Rj: That’s kind of why I brought you here.

Liam: Dude, I– I know that you mean well, I really do–

Rj: Just listen to me. If you have two seconds. I– I talked to hope and now I just want to talk to you. It is not too late to give your marriage another chance, liam. You do not have to give up on your family.

[ Indistinct crosstalk ]

Deacon: I heard there was a beautiful mermaid with a birthday swimming around here. Now, where is she? Where could she have been? Wait, what? There she is. Come here, you. Oh, happy birthday, beth.

Beth: I got mermaid fins. You want some?

Brooke: Yeah, deacon. What do you say?

Deacon: All right, I’m game. But I’ll tell you what, I draw the line at a bikini. Unless, of course it’s really tasteful. I got you an amazing gift.

Beth: You being here is my best gift.

Deacon: See, now you’re making me feel like it’s my birthday.

Beth: Mommy, when’s daddy getting here?

Eric: Liam, you and hope love each other. And there’s obstacles in every marriage, but you can’t just walk away.

Rj: Especially when there’s children involved, liam. I mean, think about beth. She’s a constant reminder of everything that you and my sister share and it’s– it’s her birthday today. Do you realize how devastated that little girl’s going to be when she realizes that her parents aren’t together anymore? It’s awful.

Liam: Okay. But we’ve already signed divorce papers that hope had drawn up.

Liam: I hear what you’re saying and believe me, I never thought that I would be here. Hope and I have– have faced many obstacles. We always got to the other side of them.

Rj: You– you have. So, why is this any different?

Liam: Because it’s thomas. This is not new. This– I’ve been saying this. I can’t forgive what hope did any more than I can forgive everything that thomas did. And that is especially profound on beth’s birthday.

Rj: So, you’re just going to throw away your entire family over one kiss.

Liam: Where have you been? It’s not a kiss, it’s not just one kiss. Thomas has been consumed by his obsession with hope and it– the things that it has caused him to do. I mean, he– he let us believe that our daughter was dead. Do you understand what–

Ridge: Hey, liam. Liam.

Liam: Yeah.

Ridge: Thomas has worked hard. He’s better now. He didn’t make a play on hope in rome.

Liam: Well, I don’t– I don’t know that he’s better now, but you’re absolutely right. I– I saw it with my own eyes and it was hope that initiated that kiss. But that doesn’t– that doesn’t mean I’m going to have an easier time giving thomas the benefit of the doubt. It doesn’t mean I’m going to have an easier time imagining that he hasn’t manipulated in some way.

Rj: This isn’t about thomas. This is about you and how much you love your wife and you love your family. I mean, you want to be at this party, right? You haven’t seen beth in a couple of days?

Liam: No, I haven’T.

Rj: Do you miss her?

Liam: Rj, of course I miss her.

Rj: Good. Remember that. Because the future is not set, liam. You do not have to walk away from your family. There’s a better choice, okay? There’s a future where you tear up divorce papers and you and hope and– and beth can live happily ever after. That can happen. You can make that happen.

Hope: Marta’s bringing the juice boxes.

Deacon: This matches.

Katie: Oh, yeah. Accessorizing. Always very important.

Hope: Oh, my gosh. Kelly and beth are just the sweetest.

Katie: Sisters. Can’t beat them. They’ll always be able to count on each other.

Deacon: Honey, look, I know you don’t want to get bogged down in negativity.

Deacon: I got it. I got it. I’m not trying to guilt trip you, but I can’t help it. I– I look at beth and she’s so precious and right now, she’s blissfully unaware that her parents are going through a divorce and she’s going to be devastated when she finds out.

Katie: I know what it’s like for a child to go through a divorce. I mean, will is fine now, but it was so hard on him and no matter what, it’s going to change the way he sees the world, it’s going to change the way he deals with relationships.

Brooke: You do have to think about beth, but you also have to think about yourself and your happiness and you are happy when you’re with liam. So, you can’t just throw all that away for thomas. Never for thomas.

Eric: Your rj is a good kid. You should be proud of him.

Ridge: I am. He loves his sister very much and I’m glad he’s fighting for her.

Eric: You think that’s going to be enough? That going to be enough to keep hope and liam together?

Brooke: I’m so glad you could make it, honey. The girls are down by the pool with donna having a great time.

Deacon: They’re going to be absolute prunes when they get out of the water.

Liam: I’m really looking forward to seeing her. Is this– this is on okay?

Hope: Yes.

Liam: Yeah. Just a heads up. I’m going to win the present war this year. So keep those expectations nice and low.

Hope: I– I wasn’t aware there was a competition.

Liam: Oh, no, no, no, daddy is going to be very popular.

Katie: Well, you know what? I think that, uh, we should head down to the pool. I’m going to see if donna wants to tap out.

Brooke: Yeah, I’m going to get some sun.

Liam: Sure. I’m sorry, did he just say mermaid fin?

Hope: Uh, yes, he did. It’s a bit of a long story.

Liam: Oh.

Rj: Uh, I’m going to head down, too. I was just wondering if I could– can I– can I talk to you guys?

Hope: Um, rj. Uh, we were kind of hoping today it could be light and fun and it’d be about beth’s birthday, so.

Rj: I know, it’s a special day, it’s her day, but maybe, I don’t know, you both can make it the day that you two work your way back to each other for the sake of your family. I’m hearing different ways for me to screen

Rj: I know. I know I’m breaking my rules, staying out of the family drama, but I’m your brother, all right? And I care about you and I’m worried about you. I– I want you to be happy and I know that this divorce is not what you want, hope.

Hope: I just think it is an inappropriate time to talk about this. This is our daughter’s birthday. She also isn’t aware yet of what is going on because we haven’t been able to have that conversation just yet.

Liam: So, if you haven’t noticed, we’re trying to do right by our kid.

Rj: We’re trying to do– what’s right for your daughter is both of you staying together. Both of you know that, right? I don’t know the whole story of everything that thomas has done to both of you or how he’s been able to cause these problems in your marriage, okay? But what I do know is that both of you are hurt, okay? And– and if any two people can rise above that for the sake of their family, it is you two. Have a little bit of faith. All right? Yes– yes, it is– it is beth’s birthday. She’s turning seven years old. Think about that. Think about how much she’s going to change and learn and– and grow this year. Do either of you want to miss a single second of that? I’m just saying, this doesn’t have to be an end, hope, liam, okay? This could be a new beginning if you want it to be.

I thought, uh, maybe you could help me. We could, uh, we could do it together, kind of collaborate, like– like we used to. What do you say?

Ridge: That’d be nice.

Rj: All– all I’m saying is just to keep an open mind, okay? Your marriage doesn’t have to be over and there’s different possibilities to explore, okay? But of course, it’s– it’s your choice.

[ Indistinct crosstalk ]

Brooke: Those little mermaids finally got out of the pool. They’re putting their little costumes back on and they’ll be up with deacon.

Katie: Um, did we walk in on something?

Hope: Oh, yeah. Just my little brother acting as a marriage counselor.

Donna: Oh, another voice of reason.

Katie: Maybe he can add his to ours.

Donna: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: Well, this is a big day. This is beth’s birthday and she is a gift. I mean, we don’t need to remind you everything it took for you to make sure that beth was a part of your lives. If anything, that should tell you how important it is to try to stay together, to not give up on your marriage. My late father-in-law lit up a room,

Eric: And it seems to me, you could drape some fabric over the– uh, over the shoulder here and you could add some ruching to the waist. That’d be nice.

Ridge: Uh, I’m trying to keep it loose, keep some movement in the gown and, you know, the– the waist just needs to be edgy. You know what I mean?

Eric: Yeah, edgy is good, but I– uh, frankly I think the classic never really goes out of style.

Ridge: I think you’re right. But fashion is a crazy animal, right? Keeps evolving, keeps changing. Sure, we’ll drape it over the shoulder. Sounds great.

Eric: Yeah. Don’t do that.

Ridge: What?

Eric: Don’t patronize me. I’ve been designing since before you were born and I’ve done my own– my own evolution over the years. Look, I really want to do this new line. I’m really inspired and I want you to help me with it. Sort of help me flesh it out, you know, just like we used to. We can be a good team, a profitable team. We’ve done that. And besides, you might learn something.

Ridge: I always learn stuff from you, dad, but right now, it’s– it’s not the greatest time. I mean, it’s– you know, it’s busy, it’s crazy busy, but it’s– it’s good crazy, but it’s crazy.

Eric: No, I agree. The company’s doing really well. Financially, we’re on top of the world.

Ridge: Yeah.

Eric: But I think a– a legacy line for me would be great for my– my legacy and– and for the company as well and it would do great for some of our longstanding customers who would be very happy with that.

Ridge: No, I think they would be, um, so let’s revisit that. But right now, my plate’s pretty full.

Eric: So you, uh, you’re putting me off, right?

Ridge: Putting– dad, no, I’m just– I’m just– I’m just doing stuff. No, you’re the master. You know that.

Eric: Right.

Ridge: Don’t do that.

Eric: Don’t do what?

Ridge: Don’t do that. Come on. How do you think the birthday party is going?

Eric: The birthday party?

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Eric: Well, let’s see. Hope and liam have signed divorce papers. Steffy and finn are separated, but they all love that little girl and nothing brings people together like their love for a child, so.

Liam: One thing that neither hope nor I will ever lose sight of is how lucky we are to have beth. And that’s especially when you consider the circumstances under which we almost lost her.

Hope: She is a blessing and today just reinforces that. But, um, with us, it’s just other issues came up.

Liam: Yeah.

Hope: So…

Brooke: Thomas was a mistake. Mistakes can be overcome. Don’t let that define you.

Rj: Just forget about thomas, forget about what happened in rome.

Liam: It’s just not that easy and maybe, maybe one day you’ll understand what it is we’re talking about, but I hope you never do, honestly.

Hope: Okay. You know what? Um, this is a birthday party, not a marriage intervention. So, let’s try to concentrate on celebrating beth, shall we?

Katie: Yes.

Brooke: Yes, yes, we all agree with that. But as we were saying earlier, the best way to celebrate beth is if the two of you find your way back to each other to put your sweet family back together again. Oh, look at our mermaid.

Liam: Yes.

Liam: Come here. Oh, my goodness. Look at you. Oh, my god.

Steffy: Hey, thomas. Oh, thanks for checking in. Yeah, I’m, uh, I’m exhausted. The kids are asleep, donna and granddad are at a gala and I’m, uh, I’m going to get some work emails done and then go to sleep. Yeah. Thank you. Yeah, I– I’m really grateful that granddad opened up his home to us, but honestly though, it just feels– it feels so weird not being at the cliff house with finn.

Finn: How is this possible? Steffy forrester, will you marry me?

Steffy: Yes! This is the greatest christmas ever because we’re together.

Finn: Happy birthday. I gotta go get her.

Ridge: How do you feel about my daughter?

Liam: Here’s what I do know. I’ve only got one life to live and I want to live it with steffy and my daughter.

[ Both moaning ]

Brooke: Oh, gosh. I think it’s time for you to take me home.

Ridge: I think it is. You took the words right out of my mouth. But before that, there’s some business to talk about first.

Brooke: What do you mean business?

Ridge: Unfinished business. I was serious when I said I want another wedding.

Brooke: Oh, yeah. You’re such a romantic and that’s one of the reasons why I’ve loved you so much for so many years. How could I say no to that?

Ridge: You can’T. Anyway, it’s been in my head, I’ve been thinking about it and I want to show you some of the gowns I’ve been working on.

Brooke: Okay.

[ Liam sighing ]

Finn: Steffy. Steffy.

Steffy: Finn, wh– what are you doing here?

Finn: I don’t want to spend another night apart from you. Hellmann’s real mayonnaise…

Brooke: It’s so good to know that I’m your logan again.

Ridge: Well, we have no choice, really. Every road leads to you. It’s a pretty romantic story, I think.

Brooke: Yeah.

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: And we’ve only grown closer through the years. It’s pretty amazing, right? Sure, there’s been difficult times, but we’ve just gotten stronger. We’ve learned more about each other, about ourselves.

Ridge: Can I show you something?

Brooke: Yes, of course.

Ridge: So, come here. Now, keep in mind, creating something for you, that’s not easy because it’s not– not just a pencil on paper. It’s– it’s me, how I feel about you, how we feel about each other, what you do to me.

[ Brooke chuckling ] And seeing you, it just, um… it takes my breath away.

Brooke: Wow.

Steffy: Liam?

Liam: Hey.

Steffy: What is it?

Liam: I made a mistake.

Steffy: Oh, my god. Liam. Hey, hey. I am so sorry. You do not deserve this. You do not, okay?

Finn: And I, um, I found mikey.

Steffy: Where did you find him?

Finn: He was, like, you know, stuffed down in the couch, where else?

Steffy: Oh, my gosh, we looked everywhere.

Finn: Yeah, I know. I– I kept looking. I had some extra time on my hands.

Steffy: Hm. Well, hayes will be very happy that you found him.

Finn: Yeah, I’m just happy I was able to bring him over. How are the kids?

Steffy: They’re fine. Like I said, they have no idea what’s going on. They think they’re just spending time with their great-grandfather.

Finn: Okay. That’s good. Yeah, when– when I videochatted with kelly and hayes, nothing seemed, um, too off. How’s everything with kelly and– and the beach?

Steffy: Kelly’s okay. She’s not having any nightmares or anything or– there’s no residual damage.

Finn: Okay, well, that’s good. I’ve just been worried about her. Look, what I got to say, I hope the same is true for us because I have to believe that there’s not going to be any residual damage to our marriage either. Look, steffy, I’m– no, hey. I’m sorry I let you down, okay? I never meant to disillusion you or make you feel unsafe, but you know that I can take care of our family. Let me prove it to you. Steffy, just give me another chance. My heart failure diagnosis changed my priorities.

Finn: This time apart has just… reinforced how incredible my life is when you’re in it. I miss you. I miss you and the kids more than I can say. I just, I miss– I miss being close to you. I miss everything about you, steffy. I miss your– your smile, that laugh. I miss– I just, I miss you.

Steffy: Finn, I– it’s just– I don’t– I don’t–

Finn: Look, you… that little beach house of ours, it is way too big and quiet without you, kelly and hayes running around and look, I know that you said that you don’t feel safe enough to return, but, honey, I swear to you, I will never let anything happen to you and the kids. You will always be safe.

Steffy: Finn, I– I know– I know you mean everything you say. And know that I miss you, too. I never wanted to take the kids and leave.

Finn: Okay, then come on, we can fix this right now, okay? Come on.

Steffy: You think I don’t want that? You think I– I want to– I want to wake up the kids right now. Yeah, I do, I want to wake them up and I want to take them home.

Finn: Yeah?

Steffy: I want to be with you, I do.

Steffy: No, but finn… I can’T. I can’T. Not when sheila’s out there.

Finn: Steffy, I haven’t had any contact with her. I swear, okay? I haven’t heard a word.

Steffy: And I want to believe you. I really, really do, but I don’t know when sheila’s going to strike next.

Finn: [Indistinct]. I hate this… and I want to respect the time that you need, but you need to understand I am not going to go anywhere. I love you and the kids way too much. We’re going to work through this. I’m your husband. Nothing and no one is going to keep us apart.

Ridge: Oh, that’s nice.

Brooke: Mm. Oh, any one of these designs would be so bold and beyond beautiful.

Ridge: Well, that’s what you are. You’re beyond beautiful and I’m beyond in love with you. What do you want me to do? You– you want me to make a, b or c?

Brooke: Uh… how about d?

Ridge: You want d?

Brooke: Yeah.

Ridge: I’ll do that.

Ridge: No, I’ll make that. It’s not done right now, but I will– I will get it done, I will.

Brooke: I mean, these dresses are so exquisite, ridge, really. It’s just– I want to do this my way. I mean, and don’t– don’t read into that. You are very talented.

Brooke: This is one of the ways you make me so happy. Just being wrapped in your arms.

Ridge: Oh.

Brooke: So loving, so comforting.

Ridge: I like to give you comfort. Especially now that you’re worried about your daughter.

Ridge: I am, but I meant what I said. We can do anything when we’re together.

Finn: We’ll be together, steffy.

Liam: Are the, uh, the kids, are they all–

Steffy: Uh, kids are asleep. Granddad and donna are out.

Liam: Good. That’s good. That, um, gives us a minute.

Steffy: Liam, you should know that finn was– he was just here.

Liam: Oh, I don’t blame him. He’d be pretty damn foolish not to fight for you right now. I think any man would be. You’re the most incredible woman I’ve ever met, steffy. You’re… you’re strong and you’re courageous and you’re a badass in the truest sense of the word, but you’re also kind… and tender and loving. I was so blessed to have ever been loved by you. I know a lot’s going on, but I’ve been– I’ve been thinking about how I kissed you in rome, as surprising as that was to both of us. That’s really why I’m here. I don’t– I don’t want to do this thing that I do anymore where I swallow my feelings or– or pretend they don’t exist and the fact is… losing you was the biggest mistake of my entire life and… if– if– if… the stars were ever to align again and I– and I had another chance, I swear to god, I would hold you so tight and I would never let you go. I recognize that– that even though you moved out and you’re– you’re living at eric’s right now, you’re still a married woman and I– I want to respect that and the last thing I want to do is interfere in your marriage. Steffy: They’re going through the pile right now, they’re in heaven.

Eric: She loves this. I mean, she loves having you here with the kids. She loves it as much as I do.

Steffy: Well, I’m really grateful to both of you for opening up your home to me and the children.

Eric: No, it’s your home. It’s your home, too. For as long as you need.

Ridge: Thank you, dad. Their safety is the most important thing right now.

Eric: I agree. It’s– it’s so alarming that sheila’s a free woman again. I can’t believe it. We’ve increased the security around forrester and we doubled it around the house here, so.

Steffy: Okay.

Eric: I just can’t believe that you– you don’t feel safe in your own home, safe and secure. With finn.

Finn: Either panel come back yet? He’s still tachy? Okay, um…

Rj: Hey.

Finn: Thanks for, uh, thanks for coming.

Rj: Yeah. Yeah, no problem. I’m still trying to just understand everything that’s going on, you know?

Finn: Yeah. I’ll just say, I should never have taken my eyes off kelly.

[ Chuckling ]

Wyatt: Yeah, money has that effect on him. Um… [ Clears throat ] You know what else made him happy?

Wyatt: Is you finally opening up to him.

Liam: Yeah, well, you know, he hasn’t missed much, just hope and me getting divorced and his granddaughter almost drowning and–

Wyatt: Yeah, steffy, uh, separating from finn, right?

Rj: You need my help with steffy?

Finn: I just… I’ve been so lost since she moved out with the kids and… I mean, there’s no stopping her.

Rj: I’m sorry, finn.

Finn: Yeah, but you know, your sister, when she makes up her mind, she makes up her mind, but this is all just… it’s just starting to settle in now, you know? My family’s separated and I miss them more than anything. And look, I take responsibility for the things that happened with sheila, but the thing is, steffy never would have moved out if it weren’t for liam.

Liam: I mean, am I– am I allowed to say I’m proud of steffy? Just for– you know, just for– for, you know, taking kelly and hayes and heading over to eric’s ’cause I know that couldn’t have been easy, but it was the right thing.

Wyatt: Yeah. Yeah, for their safety.

Wyatt: And, I mean, it could possibly give you another shot at steffy in the future.

Steffy: I hate taking kelly and hayes out of their home, away from finn.

Eric: You had no choice.

Rj: Yeah, yeah. You– you mentioned this before that you think liam’s the reason why steffy left. I don’t understand why though.

Finn: Do you know about the hearing yet?

Rj: Well, yeah. I know that sheila got let off.

Finn: No, about what happened after.

Finn: After the hearing, once sheila was released, we embraced.

Rj: You what? Finn, why would you do that?

Finn: Look, I– I don’t know. It– sheila saw me and hugged me and something came over me and this connection with my birth mother.

[ Scoffs ]

Rj: Okay, uh, well, what did steffy say when you told her you did that?

Finn: See, that’s when liam comes in. Because I didn’t get a chance to tell her, he beat me to it.

Rj: He– I don’t understand, how did he–

Finn: Apparently, he followed me outside the judge’s chambers and decided to record me hugging sheila.

Rj: No.

Finn: Yeah. And liam couldn’t wait to run to steffy to show it to her.

Wyatt: Look, I’m not trying to give you a hard time here, bro.

Liam: Look, this is– this is you not trying to give me a hard time, that’s what this is?

Wyatt: Come on, you know me better than that. I would never…

Steffy: I can’t wait to try them! Kelly and hayes are baking muffins with donna in the kitchen. Mom, I really appreciate you being here. You didn’t have to come back so soon. I already kind of filled you in on everything when we talked.

Taylor: Okay, well, I wanted to come back. I’m your mom. You’re hurting right now, you need support, and I’m here.

Steffy: Thank you.

Taylor: Mm-hmm.

Steffy: I just want to make sure I’m being smart for the children. Making the right decisions.

Taylor: I know, honey, it’s a lot, this is all a lot. This is all a– a big shock, really, you know? You living here with eric.

Ridge: Well, they’re where they need to be.

Eric: I absolutely agree with that.

Ridge: You made the right choice coming here.

Taylor: And– and you don’t think that you should, you know, maybe get back home and try to work things out with finn? Host says the key is under the bizanguita cactus.

Rj: You’re treating this like it’s nothing. This isn’t nothing. You embraced sheila, you were sympathizing with her.

Finn: Hold on, we hugged, okay? I wasn’t sympathizing with her. Liam surreptitiously took that video on his phone and did he confront me about it? No, he immediately ran to steffy claiming he was looking out for the kids and herself.

Rj: Well, maybe that’s it, maybe he was just being protective.

Finn: Protective? Rj, my kids don’t need to be protected from me! I would never let anything happen to them, I love them more than my own life.

Rj: I realize that, okay? I’m just saying, do you really think right now liam is trying to sabotage your marriage?

Finn: I don’t think that, I know that. And I’m not going to let that little twerp get away with it.

Wyatt: Uh, for the record, I’m– I’m not telling you to bulldoze steffy’s marriage here, right? I’m not– I’m not– that’s not what I’m saying.

Liam: I know. I know that. I know that’s not what you’re saying.

Wyatt: Okay, good because i don’t want to be blamed for this whole rivalry that’s about to happen between you and finn.

Liam: Trust me, if it does happen, it ain’t going to be on you.

Wyatt: No, I’m just– you know, looking at the situation, this– this– like, this– this whole thing is kind of aligning pretty perfectly for you, especially if you’re looking at another chance with steffy.

Liam: Yeah, only because finn’s being an idiot and not protecting his family.

Wyatt: Yeah, but come on, dude, you got to admit here, like, I think you’re still in love with steffy and you want a life with her again.

Ridge: Well, even dad didn’t want to hear this conversation.

Taylor: No.

Ridge: You chased him away.

Ridge: Privacy for what? This is a conversation I would have with anybody. The kids are where they need to be.

Taylor: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, I’m just saying that I don’t know that steffy’s making the best choice packing up the kids and leaving her husband.

Ridge: Well, and I’m just saying that finn has a lot of things he needs to work through before she goes back there. You saw the security outside the house, right? It’s good, it’s safe here. They don’t have that at the cliff house. You know what they have at the cliff house? The possibility of crazy sheila popping out. It’s dangerous.

Taylor: No, I understand that. I– I do, but finn’s not gonna let anything happen to steffy and the kids.

Ridge: He already has! He hugged that crazy woman outside the courtroom. The cliff house is not an option.

I know you love him, I know he loves you, but you gotta keep an open mind because what are you gonna do for the next I don’t know how many years? Just keep looking over your shoulder to see if sheila’s going to pop into your house or whatever? You can’T. She could be there at any moment.

Finn: Look, just the– the fact that liam would secretly record me hugging sheila and then run to steffy acting like he’s just some big hero?

Rj: Maybe he’s just worried, all right? Kelly’s his daughter, he’s got a right to be protective, finn.

Finn: He told me he loves her, rj, and that they share this incredible history.

Rj: Seriously?

Finn: Seriously. I’m not making this up. Okay, liam’s after my wife and he’s using this sheila situation to his advantage.

Rj: Well, I mean, steffy’s already freaked out that sheila’s freed though.

Finn: Look, rj, before I met your sister… uh, my life was– was– was pretty great. I had finished med school, I had gotten my dream job, I was helping people, I– I had accomplished pretty much everything I’d wanted to. Okay? And then one day… this incredible, beautiful, intelligent woman came into my hospital and I knew in a second that my life had just begun. Steffy’s it for me and I would do anything to keep her happy and to make sure she felt loves and to keep her safe. And that’s why it just… it just breaks my heart that she doesn’t feel safe here because of sheila. And I– I promised that I wouldn’t have anything to do with her and… I just– I screwed up, man, and I broke her trust and I’ve apologized and I’ve begged her to come home because it’s the only way to prove to her that I can protect my family. But she says that she can’t do that and I know that sheila is a– is a big reason for that, but I’m telling you, it’s liam, too.

Liam: I mean, you– you– you– you’re– you’re right.

Wyatt: I’m sorry, what?

Liam: You’re–

Wyatt: What’d you just say?

Liam: You’re right.

Wyatt: Did you just say I was right?

Liam: Mm. I didn’t say–

Liam: Yes, you’re right, you’re– [ Groans ]

Wyatt: It sounds so good.

Liam: Yes, you’re right, I’m still very much in love with steffy and I always will be and I told her as much.

Wyatt: Yeah.

Liam: Not only did I tell her, I made little to no effort to hide it from finn either. Yes, I kissed steffy. Yes, I– I meant it. But I should not have done that. I mean, I– I was caught up, man, a lot of big, confusing feelings and the last thing that I want to do is interfere in somebody else’s marriage, much less steffy’S.

Wyatt: I know, but liam, that’s– you just said it. There were really intense emotions going on there, especially after what happened with hope, but remember, that all happened before finn and kelly went to the beach, that all happened before he decided to hug it out with that psycho.

Liam: Yeah, that’s true. The situation has definitely changed recently.

Why did I– why did I ever let her slip through my fingers? My god, just… she can’t stay with finn. The way that he’s acting lately, I mean, he’s– he’s become a danger to steffy and the kids.

Finn: Look, steffy and i have overcome so much together and it’s only made us stronger. I almost lost your sister once and I’m not gonna go through that again. There’s no way I’m letting liam make a play for my wife.

Liam: Here’s what I do know.

Wyatt: Hm?

Finn: Steffy, I’ll make this up to you. And to Kelly, okay? I just– I want us to be a family again. So just, can you please forgive me? Can you forgive me and come home?

[ Liam sighing ]

Liam: Honestly, being a dad I think is the best part of my life. Once in a while, I reflect on how fortunate I am, and even when I’m not with you, I just keep you right here. It’s easy.

Steffy: We feel the same way about you.

Liam: It’s been nice. It’s been really, really nice to spend this time here with you guys. Kelly, daughter of mine, do you know how lucky you are? Do you know what a totally cool, totally loving, totally responsible mother you have? Do you even– do you even know?

[ Liam sighing ]

Brooke: Mm.

Ridge: How do you do that?

Brooke: What?

Ridge: One kiss and all my troubles just melt away.

Brooke: Well, I thought you could use a pick me up.

Ridge: Yeah, you have no idea.

Brooke: So, how was it? I know you went to see Finn earlier.

Ridge: Yeah, I did. How could someone so smart be so reckless with my granddaughter? What happened to him?

Brooke: It is awful, what happened to Kelly, but at least she is okay.

Ridge: She’s okay because of Sheila. I thought we had this woman out of our lives for good, locked up and now– now, she’s back in it. I don’t blame Steffy for taking the kids and leaving, and I made sure Finn knew that as well.

Brooke: So, what did Finn say? I know he’s all about his family.

Ridge: He is. He takes responsibility for what happened with Kelly, but… he doesn’t think Sheila is responsible for what’s happening in his life and in his marriage. He thinks it’s Liam.

Wyatt: Rushmore. It’s today’s puzzle. It’s what you’re doing, aren’t you?

Liam: Oh, uh, no. No, I was actually just checking on Kelly.

Wyatt: Oh. How is my little niece doing?

Liam: Uh, you know, so far so good, although… can’t be too careful with you-know-who on the loose, so.

Wyatt: I still can’t believe that psychopath was out there playing Malibu lifeguard.

Liam: No, let’s– let’s– let’s be honest about this. She was stalking her dear son. And I told Finn, like dude, this is– this is enough. You gotta keep Sheila away from Steffy and the kids.

Wyatt: Wait, you talked to Finn? When?

Liam: Oh, my– I didn’t tell you. No, yeah. He– he paid me a visit. Uh, I am– I am officially on notice now. I am not to interfere in his and Steffy’s marriage.

Finn: This isn’t how it’s supposed to be, after everything that we’ve been through, so please, let’s just go home and we can work on this together. ‘Cause I– I can’t take being apart from you any longer. And look, I understand why you did what you did. I screwed up, but I will never let Sheila near us, Steffy. Tell me that you believe me. Tell me that you’re gonna go get the kids and you’re gonna come home and we can just be a family again.

Brooke: So, after breaking his promise to Steffy and allowing Sheila back into their lives, he blames Liam for the problems in his marriage. Can’t he see that Sheila is the one causing all the problems?

Ridge: Yes, but he also thinks that Liam is undermining his marriage. That he wants to be with her again. That’s why I went to see Liam today.

Brooke: You went to see Liam?

Ridge: I did.

Brooke: Oh.

Ridge: And we talked and we agreed on a lot of things. Steffy taking the kids and getting out of there was the right thing to do because being with Finn was just too dangerous.

Brooke: I think I know why Finn is so upset with Liam. Why he’s blaming him for the separation from Steffy. It’s because Liam is the one who showed Steffy the video of Finn and Sheila hugging outside the judge’s chambers.

Ridge: I’m sure that’s part of it, but there’s more. Um… Finn thinks that Liam is still in love with Steffy, and he’s not wrong.

Wyatt: Okay, back up here. Finn told you not to interfere in his marriage? When? He came by here?

Liam: Yeah, I mean, if you’re implying what I think you are, no punches were thrown.

Wyatt: Ah, damn it.

Liam: Although, honestly, the guy, he really– he wanted to deck me, I could tell. And if I’m being honest, I had to show some restraint too.

Wyatt: Dude, I don’t blame you. I would’ve laid the guy out after what the guy did to Kelly.

Liam: Well, yeah. I mean, it’s his stupidity that almost got my daughter killed.

Wyatt: 100%. I mean, what kind of idiot turns his back on a child at the beach?

Liam: That’s– that’s the thing. Like, you would think, if he were gonna visit me for anything, maybe it would be to apologize for that? But no, it’s just– the whole thing was just stay away from Steffy.

Finn: Look. Everything will be okay, all right? I’ll go pack up the kids’ things and when they come back, we can just go straight home. I’ll– I’ll reach out to– to security, we’ll get more surveillance. When I’m done, our home will be safer than Fort Knox. But most importantly, Steffy, look. I promise you, I will never contact or communicate with Sheila ever again. I just– I love you so much. I will do whatever it takes to bring our family home.

Brooke: Wow. So Liam is in love with Steffy. He actually admitted that to you?

Ridge: I had to find out how he feels about my daughter. The whole world is upside down right now.

Brooke: Completely! The last thing Steffy needs is for Liam to enter her world.

Ridge: I don’t think that’s what he’s trying to do. He’s not trying to interfere in the marriage at all.

Brooke: But…

Ridge: But, he’s also not gonna deny how he feels about Steffy. And I know this is hard for you to hear because of Hope and–

Brooke: Yeah, it’s– it’s all very hard for me to hear.

Ridge: But the bottom line is… Liam loves Steffy.

Wyatt: Stay away from Steffy? Like that’s gonna happen. She’s the mother of your child.

Liam: Exactly. That’s the– I mean, Steffy and I are always gonna be connected through Kelly, which is why I’m not– I’m not going anywhere. But– but Finn’s not wrong that Steffy and I have a history. I don’t think he understands how deep that history runs though and– and–

Wyatt: Right.

Liam: I did tell him that.

Wyatt: You did? To his face?

Liam: Yeah, to his face. Listen, I– you know, when I think about just everything. You know, everything that’s happened, I– obviously, I love Hope, I love the life that we created together, but if I’m being honest with myself… the biggest mistake of my life was walking away from Steffy.

Steffy: Finn, I want you to know how much the kids and I miss you. And I also want you to know that I– I hear you. I do. But this is an extremely difficult situation. Every time I close my eyes, I’m haunted by the thought of Kelly just being swept up by the undertow.

Finn: I know. I know and I– it haunts me too, but Steffy, look. Kelly, she’s okay, right? She’s happy, she’s healthy and she’s surrounded by love and that’s– that’s– honey, that’s all that matters.

Steffy: She’s alive, Finn. Oh, she’s alive because of… Sheila. Because of your birth mother. Ever since our wedding date, she’s been like this dark cloud hanging over us, just causing misery and madness. Even before, when she terrorized my family.

Finn: I know, okay? And I’m sorry for all of that.

Steffy: God, I just– I can’t do it. I can’t– I can’t– I can’t get this image of you hugging Sheila outside the judge’s chambers office. I– I– I just, I can’t. And it just proves that Sheila’s gonna be– she’s gonna be in your life forever. I love you, Finn. I love you so much, but I didn’t want this. I didn’t want to take the kids and come here. I’m sorry. No, I’m sorry. What you’re asking, it’s– I can’t do it. I can’t come home. I can’t put our children in that dangerous environment. I won’t.

Ridge: I know you’re worried about Hope.

Brooke: Yes, and I know you’re worried about your daughter.

Ridge: It’s crazy, right? It’s so ironic that both of our daughters are struggling with their marriages.

Brooke: Despite the fact that Hope and Liam signed divorce papers, I keep hoping that they’re going to find their way through this somehow. But Hope always told me that she felt that Steffy was like the third member of their marriage, and now you’re telling me that Liam has always loved Steffy, so I guess Hope was right all along.

Ridge: No, what I’m telling you is that we can help our kids and that the two of us can do anything together.

Brooke: Oh.

Ridge: And I’m telling you how grateful I am to have my Logan back.

[ Brooke chuckling ]

Ridge: Looking through that keyhole in Rome, I saw my future. It was so crazy. It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

Ridge: Brooke!

Brooke: Ridge.

Ridge: I found you. I don’t wanna spend another day without you.

Ridge: What a waste of money, though. Going all the way to Rome while my destiny was right here in front of me the whole time.

Brooke: Yeah.

Liam: I want you to know that I know I was a fool to let you go, and– and if I ever got a chance at a do over, I wouldn’t make that mistake again. I don’t think I’d ever let you go again.

Steffy: Hi, sweetheart. Did you have fun at the beach?

Kelly: Something happened, Mommy. Something really scary.

Steffy: Oh, really? What happened?

Kelly: I almost drowned.

Steffy: What?

Kelly: Finn’s mom saved me.

Steffy: Li was there?

Kelly: Not Li. Sheila.

Finn: My mother saved Kelly’s life!

Liam: I’m telling you, Finn and Sheila were physically embracing each other. At this point, you don’t know that you can trust Finn to keep you and Kelly and Hayes safe from Sheila.
