It was our Friday night tradition. I’ve told you we had this wonderful nightclub called Doug’s Place. Well, whenever another restaurant opened in town, Doug would insist that we go try it out. I think the last one we tried out was the Bistro.

I haven’t tried that place. How is it?

Oh, It’s lovely. The ambience is beautiful. Food’s delicious. [tender music] I haven’t been back since your grandfather passed away, but–

In exchange for not going to prison? I don’t see why she wouldn’t. Kristen just had to get over her loyalty to EJ, but now that she’s on board, I consider it a done deal.

That’s great. So you’re just waiting for her to come back with the signature.

Yeah, she wanted the DiMera general counsel to look over it first, but I doubt that’ll take long. It’s pretty clear-cut.

Right, right. So it sounds like we’re just waiting for Melinda Trask to come through for us, then, huh?

And do you remember exactly where you were when you saw it back in December?

Of course. The Horton living room. The whole family was there. Ciara had just opened the time capsule, and inside were all these wonderful family mementos and then my grandmother’s necklace, and we looked and we oohed and aahed and– and then it was time to go to St. Luke’s Garden. I put it back in the time capsule. When we came home, it was gone.

OK, so you, Ciara, Shawn, my mom, Lucas, and your brother, Steven, are the only ones that even knew about it?

That’s right.

Did anyone talk about the necklace after you left the house? Anywhere someone would have heard you?

No. No, we didn’t talk about it at all. We were all thinking about Doug. [soft dramatic music] How on Earth did Melinda Trask get her hands on it?

Right. Well, uh, Philip and I were just talking about how hard you guys have been working over at Titan.

Well, the leukemia is progressing again, but the good news is that your mother is going to be starting treatment right away. Now, we all know this is going to be a very rough road ahead, but the, uh– the medical advancement in blood cancer therapies, immunotherapies, and CAR T therapies, it– she can survive this. She will survive this.

I don’t know, I just hate that she has to go through this all over again.

Well, she won’t have to be going through it alone. As soon as I can, I’m going to get out of here and go back to Los Angeles so I can be with her.

Yes, she does. She argued that Aunt Eve was given up for adoption, and she’s kind of screwed up because of it.

That’s very interesting, that your mother would think that Eve’s issues are a result of her being adopted.

Yes! Right, exactly. It made no sense to me either. I kept trying to tell her that this situation is completely different, that our baby would be raised by two loving parents who can provide a stable and a happy home, which is just something that Sophia at I can’t do at this stage in our lives. I truly think that our child would be better off with Johnny and Chanel as its parents.

I truly hope so too.

Well, they were together not too long ago. I guess they realized they had some, uh, unfinished business. God, I was so impressed that Philip was being mature about working with Alex. Turns out he’s secretly shagging Alex’s girlfriend!

You arranged my calendar, like, four weeks in advance right after your orientation. You got half a dozen virtual meetings on the books with those investors in Singapore, which, come on, the time difference. Talk about an impressive start. Joy, I am so glad you’re working here at Titan.
