Brady went to confront Kristen. He told her Sarah told him she used the serum to force Xander to give her Titan. Kristen admitted that she didn’t have a choice because she had to prove herself to the DiMera board since she’s under a microscope. Brady told her everything was about greed, money, and herself to which she said wasn’t true. Kristen said she did it for him. He didn’t understand what she was talking about. She explained that when she had Titan, she would give him Basic Black. He had trouble believing that she asked Xander to hand over Titan so he could control part of it. She said she was doing it for their family and that Rachel wants them to be together. Kristen asked him to consider making their relationship work for Rachel’s sake. Brady said Victor was his family and he wouldn’t Titan under DiMera’s control. He said her dream of wanting their family together wouldn’t happen like this. Kristen asked if they could be together if she didn’t want Titan in exchange for the serum. He said he wasn’t confirming that but he refused to get back together with her if she used the serum the way she was. Kate talked to Philip on the phone and told him that Vivian was arrested. Kate said Vivian didn’t say anything about the letter so their secret was safe. When Xander walked in Kate’s office, she told Philip she would call him back. He told her Philip was keeping him from making the deal with Kristen so he wanted her to put a stop to it. Kate refused to do it and said she supported Philip trying to save his father’s company. Xander said she better change her mind or the soap opera would be history because he would buy every streaming service available and cancel the soap opera. Kate thought that would be a risky move and called his bluff. She suggested that he let Philip run Titan and he did something else. When she refused to help him, he walked out of her office. Philip went to the Kiriakis mansion to see how Maggie was doing since it was her anniversary. When Sarah was nice to him, Philip was surprised that she would be nice to him since he was the reason why she didn’t have the serum. Sarah said she understood why he did it because she didn’t want Xander to give Titan to Kristen. She said he would do anything to get the serum. Philip said that would explain why he tried to kill him.

Philip told Sarah what happened with Xander. Sarah was shocked. When Philip checked the time, he said he had to go. He said he liked her and didn’t want to make things worse for her and Xander, but Xander’s actions were irrational. After they finished talking, Philip left. Kate met up with Philip at the Salem Inn. She told him about what happened with Xander and how he was trying to undermine her. Philip said he did the same thing to him. He told her what Xander did to him and how he told Sarah about it. Xander went home to see Sarah. She told him that Philip was there and told her how he tried to kill him. Xander said Philip was exaggerating to which Sarah said she knew he held the gun and pulled the trigger. Xander said Philip asked for it. Sarah said the violence had to stop because they couldn’t live this way. She said her walking again wasn’t worth throwing his life away. Brady showed up at the mansion and said he tried to reason with Kristen. Kristen spoke to Stefano’s portrait and thought he would have been proud of Brady for giving her an ultimatum of choosing between love and money. She said she hoped she did the right thing. Xander thanked Brady for trying to reason with Kristen and thought she turned him down. Brady said she didn’t and gave Sarah the serum. At the pub, Steve and Roman talked about Vivian getting arrested. While they were talking, they talked about Clyde’s escape. Steve said Clyde called Chad and told him something. He thought Chad was hiding something and probably thought he could handle Clyde. Roman didn’t think Clyde would help Chad. Steve said he might have if something was in it for him. They thought Chad and Clyde made a deal. Chad met EJ at the police station. He asked EJ why the charges against Cat weren’t dropped. EJ said he didn’t understand why Chad would want to do that after what she did. He told EJ that Clyde said he would tell him where Abby’s remains were if the charges against Cat were dropped. EJ asked why he would help Cat. Chad said he didn’t want to help her. He wanted her to suffer. EJ asked why he wanted the charges dropped. He thought Cat should pay for what she did. Chad said he wanted here to pay, but he didn’t want her blood on his hands and didn’t want her to die. He said he was going to make Clyde think he was helping him, but was going to make sure he didn’t get Cat. EJ didn’t like the plan and thought it was dangerous. Chad agreed that it was dangerous, but he had to do it. EJ said Paulina was going to be upset with him, but the charges were dropped and Cat was released. He warned Chad to be careful.

Johnny was on the set and thought about Joy giving him back his wedding ring. Alex approached him and wondered if he was ready for him to sleep with his wife. Johnny knew he was kidding, but he wished Alex realized it was a trigger for him after everything that happened. Alex informed him that things weren’t any better for him and Stephanie. Hopefully a war won’t happen while they’re working together. Johnny promised to be professional and apologized for messing things up with him and Stephanie. Chanel showed up and Johnny apologized for how he treated his wife. EJ brought Cat to the interrogation room and let Chad know that he dropped the charges against her. He was appalled by the things Cat did to Chad and Abby’s family. EJ uncuffed her and left Chad and Abby alone. Chad told her why she was free. He wanted to see her rot in prison for life, but he couldn’t because Clyde escaped. Chad informed her that Clyde wanted her out if he was going to find out what happened to Abby’s body. Cat was surprised to find out that Chad hated her like that. A part of Chad wanted to hand her over to Clyde, but he couldn’t sign her death warrant. Julie was about to make soup for Doug when JJ arrived at the Horton house. She was excited to see him again. They talked about what happened in Paris. Julie was confident that Cat would remain in jail for a long time.

Javi was grateful that Gabi gave him a job, but he didn’t want to be an errand boy. She gave him instructions while he received a text from Leo. Gabi gave him divorce papers to take to the courthouse. It didn’t bother her on outside, but she was brokenhearted about her marriage ending. EJ arrived after Javi left. Joy found Leo and called him the man who destroyed her marriage. He didn’t know what she meant by that. He noticed Javi’s text and winked at him. Leo asked her about her parents. She told him that she was Craig and Nancy’s daughter. Leo apologized for what he did. It wasn’t his intention to be a homewrecker. Joy couldn’t judge because she was a homewrecker too. Chanel confessed to Alex that she was having trouble with their love scene, but she was determined to get through it. She knew the men would get through it too. They got to work on their scenes. Johnny flashed back to passionately kissing Joy. Julie told JJ that Doug wasn’t doing well because of what happened with Abby. She said that he is dealing with a bad cold. He would be fine in no time. They couldn’t believe that Doug was 98. She felt that it was a blessing to still have him in her life. It was a segue to JJ’s personal life. JJ admitted that he wasn’t seeing anyone. Julie believed that he would find someone soon. EJ and Gabi argued over who was responsible for why they slept together. He reminded her that she came on to him. She believed he knew she wasn’t in her right frame of mind. EJ didn’t know when she was ever in her right frame of mind. She didn’t want him to talk any more. Gabi thought he should have stopped her when she came on to him. EJ enjoyed making Stefan pay by sleeping with his wife. Growing tired of the things he said, she slapped him knocking off his feet. Leo begged Joy to tell him about the person she slept with. Javi arrived and Joy went to the set. Leo admitted to him that he slept with Joy’s father. Chad let Cat know that he was using her as bait. He promised to protect her but there weren’t any guarantees. She agreed to do whatever he wanted. Cat owed him, and she thought it could lead to her finding her mother. She wondered if her brother could get out of jail. Chad reminded her that he tried to shoot him. She understood and wondered if he would be able to work with her. If he could find his wife, he would put up with working with her. Joy found Johnny on the set alone. He regretted what they did and wanted to tell Chanel what he did. Chad brought Cat to the Horton House much to Julie’s surprise. Gabi was about to slap EJ again, but he grabbed her arm. JJ walked up to them and demanded that he let go of her.

When Marlena read the anniversary card John had for her, Kristen showed up to see Brady. Marlena told her Brady wasn’t there, but Kristen said she would wait and let herself in. When Kristen noticed the flowers, Marlena told her it was her anniversary, but John was visiting his father. Kristen made smart remarks about John being out of town. While they were talking, the doorbell rang. It turned out to be Belle. When Belle noticed Kristen, they got into it about their love lives. Andrew showed up. Marlena wondered if Paul was showing up too, but Andrew said he was in San Francisco. He said he was there because of his father with a message from John. John had to go to D.C to consult on a case. Kristen made a snide remark. Marlena thanked Andrew for the message. Johnny and Paul showed up at the townhouse. Kristen was upset that she was getting ignored and demanded to know where Brady was. Johnny said he had to make a stop. Kristen decided to leave. When Kristen left, Paul proposed to Andrew.

Sarah found Maggie at the Kiriakis mansion staring at Victor’s portrait. She wished Maggie a happy anniversary. Maggie said she was thinking about the last anniversary. She said she felt lost, but Konstantin comforted her even though he never stood a chance with her. Sarah gave her a gift from Victoria that had a recording of her voice. Maggie said she would never forget Victor. Sarah suddenly felt a pain, but didn’t want her pills. Maggie said she couldn’t believe Philip would stop the transfer of Titan. She said Victor would have agreed to it. Julie showed up to see Maggie. She said Doug was feeling sick, but sent his love. While they were talking, they talked about what Chad went through with Cat. They were happy that Cat being alive meant John didn’t kill anyone. Sarah said it meant Victor didn’t send the Pawn to kill anyone. Maggie said she was glad to know Victor was innocent but it meant Konstantin killed him for nothing. Holly showed up and told everyone that she and Tate were threw. The ladies let her know that she shouldn’t give up because they have all been through breakups. They told her stories about their past. Brady went to the Kiriakis mansion to wish Maggie a happy anniversary. He told Sarah that Kristen let him know that the second serum would be ready. Sarah said that it didn’t matter since Xander couldn’t give Kristen Titan. Brady wanted to know what she was talking about. He went to the DiMera mansion to confront Kristen about the serum.

When Jada was about to arrest Vivian, Rafe called her to tell her to come to the police station. Jada told him she was arresting Vivian to which Rafe was shocked to hear. While Rafe was talking to Jada, he heard her yell at Vivian. There was a gunshot in the background. Rafe rushed to the Salem Inn and saw Vivian unconscious. Jada told him when she turned her back Vivian tried to take her gun from her and it went off. She said Vivian fell back and hit her head. While they were at the hospital, Vivian told Rafe she wanted Jada arrested. Rafe said he wasn’t back on the force yet and Jada was the commissioner. Vivian wanted to talk to the mayor and have Jada fired. Rafe and Jada let her know that wouldn’t happen. They let her know that she was going back to prison. Rafe said no one would be able to help her to which Vivian said she wanted a lawyer. Jada offered to get her phone. Rafe let her know that assaulting a police officer would be extra charges which would put her away for a long time. EJ called Chad to check on him. Chad told him he was glad he didn’t tell the children about Cat. EJ promised him he would make Cat and Mark pay for what they did. He let Chad know that he was grateful that Mark didn’t kill him. Chad said he was glad Mark didn’t kill him, but he had to deal with losing Abby all over again. While they were talking, EJ heard a noise. It was Ivan sneaking into the mansion. EJ told Chad he was going to find out what the noise was. Gabi showed up wanting to see Stefan. When EJ let her in, he said he thought she was done with Stefan. She wanted to know where Stefan was. EJ said he didn’t see him, but she could check his room. Gabi said she would check his room. Ivan said he would take care of everything for Vivian. He got Stefan’s suitcase and packed his things to make it look like he left town. When he was finished packing the suitcase, he pulled out an envelope.

When Gabi went in Stefan’s room, Ivan hid behind a door with the suitcase. She saw the envelope Ivan left. EJ showed up in the room. She handed him the letter. EJ read the letter. It said Stefan couldn’t get over what EJ and Gabi did so he was leaving Salem. Stefan said he wouldn’t forgive them and they were dead to him. Gabi ran out of the room. EJ went after her. When EJ found Gabi, she was looking at the divorce papers. While he was comforting her, she told him not to touch her. She said he was trying to take advantage of her and blamed him for the end of her marriage. While she was talking to him, she said he ruined everything. EJ reminded her that she came on to him because Stefan betrayed her. Gabi yelled at him to get out of the room to which he reminded her that it was his house. When Ivan went back to the Salem Inn, he found the police tape on her door. Vivian ended up calling him. At the hospital, Rafe told Jada that he was worried when he heard the gunshot. She thanked him for being worried about her. He said it was the least he could do after the way she worried about him. They said they loved each other. While they were talking, he proposed to her. She accepted his proposal. Gabi decided to sign the divorce papers. Steve showed up at the Horton house to check on Chad. Chad said he couldn’t believe he thought Cat was Abby even though everyone tried to warn him she wasn’t. Steve felt as if he let him down, but Chad said his children would have lost both of their parents if it weren’t for him. Chad said he saved his family to which Steve reminded him that it was his family too. While they were talking, Chad asked Steve if he could get him in to see Clyde. Steve told him Clyde escaped, but he was going to find him. Out of the blue, Chad got a call from an unknown number. It turned out to be Clyde. Clyde said he would reunite him with what was left of Abby, but Chad had to do something for him. He told Chad what he wanted offscreen. Steve asked what was going on. Clyde knew Steve was there and said he would be in touch with him soon. EJ went to see Chad and told him he was going to throw the book at Mark and Cat. Chad said he didn’t care about Mark, but he wanted Cat to go free.

Rafe and Jada announced to Gabi and Javi that they were getting married. Gabi hid her sadness and congratulated the couple. Rafe and Jada told Javi about their history. They talked about Jada’s encounter with Vivian. Rafe thought Vivian killed Jada and rushed to propose at the hospital. Stephanie and Joy got acquainted while they talked about the soap opera. She warned Joy that she might not be liked because her character is coming between Arrow and Faith. Stephanie assured her that she would be fine since she wasn’t really breaking up a couple. Nancy arrived after Stephanie left. She congratulated her daughter for getting the role on the soap opera. Nancy warned her not to sleep with anyone on the set the way Stephanie did. She reminded her that she had a habit of getting into bad situations. Joy wanted her to trust her judgement. Nancy had the perfect place for Joy to stay. Leo was at a bar working on a script when Alex showed up. They talked about being with Stephanie on the set. Alex assured him that he and Stephanie were done. This conversation segued into the guys talking about wanting relationships. Alex talked about what happened with Stephanie when she walked in the room. He pulled her aside and apologized for what happened with Kate. Stephanie admitted that she didn’t want to sleep with him because she thought he was seeing someone else. She told him what happened, and he wondered if she was jealous. They discussed what they wanted, but it didn’t matter because they couldn’t be together again. Leo continued to drink when Javi arrived at the bar. They began flirting with each other when Gabi showed up. She warned Javi not to get close to Leo.

Gabi pulled Javi away and told him about Leo. Javi didn’t seem bothered by it because he kept looking at Leo. Johnny flirted with Chanel, but she didn’t seem interested. He wondered if they were okay. Johnny apologized to her after what he did. He was disgusted by what he said about her. Johnny reminded Chanel that she forgave him, and she agreed with him. It wasn’t easy for her to get past what happened. He knew it would take work, and he wanted to do whatever it took to make things right. She was angry but not enough to end their marriage. Neither of them cheated, so Chanel would be able to move past what happened. Johnny had something to tell her. There’s a flashback of Joy giving Johnny his wedding ring. Johnny decided not to tell Chanel the truth. He promised not to hurt Chanel again Johnny thanked her again for his surprise party. He wished he could have enjoyed it. While they were talking, Nancy and Joy walked in the pub. Nancy wanted to join Chanel and Johnny. Joy and Johnny became uncomfortable. Nancy wanted Johnny to show Joy special attention since he’s the director of the soap opera. Nancy wanted Roman to rent a room to Joy. Before Nancy and Joy left, Chanel invited them to dinner. Chanel jokingly said she wanted to get to know the woman trying to steal her man. Johnny and Joy stared at each other.

Holly went to see Tate who apologized for not answering her text last night. He said he didn’t see it until the morning. She said she thought he might have been busy. He said he was with Sophia last night. Holly interrupted him to say that she didn’t want him to explain since she knew Sophia was trying to be with him and they broke up. She said she knew she messed up and hoped he would take her back. While she was talking, she said she regretted what she did and was sorry. He said he appreciated what she said and asked about Paris. She said she found out Brady was innocent and was glad he was out of prison and believed she transferred her anger at Eric to his father. While she was talking, she apologized again and asked if it was too late to work things out. When Tate tried to tell Holly about what happened with Sophia, she interrupted him. Holly said he and Sophia were friends and Sophia hated her. She wanted him to think about forgiving her and giving their relationship another chance. He said he was glad that she was home and would think about what she said. She thanked him and left for school. Sophia ran into Ava at the town square and wondered if she could change shifts so she could hang out with Tate. Ava was able to tell that she was in a good mood. Sophia told her she slept with Tate. Ava thought things were moving too fast. Sophia said she wanted it for a long time. Ava asked if they used protection to which Sophia said they did. Ava asked if Sophia had any regrets. Sophia said she didn’t have any regrets. Ava was happy for her that things went well, but wondered about Holly. Sophia asked why she was asking her so many questions when she was the one who told her to go for it. Ava said she wanted things to go well for her, but she should protect herself too. They continued talking about Tate and Holly.

Kate went to see Philip at the Salem Inn but saw Vivian. She wondered why Vivian was in her son’s room. Vivian corrected her and said he was her son. They got into an argument. Kate asked where Philip was to which Vivian said he wasn’t there. When Kate warned her to stay away from her son, Vivian said she couldn’t do that. Kate asked what she was up to. Vivian told her she was helping Philip get back Titan. Kate told her that whatever she was doing was over and was going to call the police. Vivian stopped her from calling the policed and offered to give her part of the money. She said Kate could use it to help with the soap opera. Kate wondered what Vivian brought to the table since Philip had his place. Vivian said she provided a letter saying Victor wanted to leave everything to Philip not Xander. Kate said the only way she could have gotten that letter was to forge it. Vivian called her smart and warned her that she would implicate Philip if she implicated her. She told Kate to come back to the dark side. When Vivian extended her hand to Kate, she shook it. When Philip walked into the Kiriakis mansion, Xander was talking to Victor’s painting about killing him if Kate couldn’t talk any sense into him. Philip said Victor wouldn’t like what he was saying. He opened up the safe behind the painting and pulled out a gun. After he handed Xander the gun, Philip told him to kill him. Xander told him not to play games. Philip said he knew he was all talk and no action. Xander took the gun and pointed it towards Philip and said he wasn’t afraid to use it. He said he wasn’t above doing whatever he had to do to protect his family. While he was talking, Xander said Philip was making a mistake trying to stop the transfer of Titan to Kristen. Philip said he didn’t have any proof that the serum would work. Xander said Rolf made miracles before and his concern was Sarah’s health. Philip said he didn’t deserve the fortune because he was a loser and if he wanted to lose his family, he should pull the trigger. When Xander pulled the trigger, it was empty. Philip said Maggie hated having a loaded gun in the house and took a chance on the gun being empty. Xander said if Kate couldn’t change his mind, he would be dead. Philip said Kate didn’t know he was in town to which Xander said wasn’t true because he talked to her. Philip was upset and left the mansion. When Philip went to the Salem Inn, he warned Vivian that she had to get out of town before his mother found her. Vivian said she already found her and knew about the forged letter, but not that Philip knew what was going on.

Philip wanted to make sure that Kate was in the dark about the plan. Vivian assured him that she didn’t know anything about it. Kate wouldn’t be a problem for them. He wasn’t sure if he believed that. Vivian told him that they talked, and Kate caved. She offered money and power. Vivian changed the subject and talked about Philip. He promised that he would handle Xander. HIs concern was about his mother. She assured him that Kate was in their corner, and they agreed that he was the true heir to Victor’s company. Kate thought about Vivian promising to cut her in with Titan money going to Body & Soul. Kate went to the station to report a crime to Jada. The most notorious criminals was back in Salem. She began talking to Jada about Vivian. After her conversation with Jada, she called Philip to talk to her. Rafe arrived home from physical therapy and saw Gabi reading the divorce papers. He noticed that she didn’t sign the papers. She made an excuse about not having a pen to sign the papers. Rafe thought she wasn’t ready to get divorced and advised her to talk to Stefan. Javi appeared in the kitchen while the siblings were talking. Rafe and Javi were happy to see each other. He wondered why Gabi didn’t mention that he was visiting. They had a happy reunion and then Rafe talked about proposing to Jada. Gabi congratulated him. Rafe said he’s been thinking about proposing since he came out of the coma.

Tate talked to Brady about Holly’s apology. Brady could tell Tate wasn’t sure whether he wanted to get back together with Holly. He admitted that he slept with another girl. His father wanted details about when it happened, and he told him. Tate felt guilty because he thought his relationship with Holly was over. Brady asked Tate what he wanted. Tate didn’t regret sleeping with Sophia, but he wanted Holly more. He couldn’t sleep with Sophia one night and dump her the next day. Brady didn’t have any easy answers for him. He said that Tate wasn’t helping Sophia by stringing her along. Holly ran into Sophia, and they got into a heated exchange about Tate. Sophia was about to tell her that she slept Tate when her mother called her. Philip met with Kate at the pub. She couldn’t believe that he snuck into town without telling her. He also worked with her biggest enemy. There was something Kate wanted to tell him, but he beat her to it. He told her about the forged letter. Kate hated to admit that Vivian was right, but Philip should run Titan. She thought Vivian should leave now that she did her part to help him. Philip couldn’t let her go because it was her idea to go after Titan. She told him not to worry because she took care of everything. Jada busted into Vivian’s room and arrested her. Vivian shook her head and realized that Kate turned her in. Holly arrived at the Kiriakis mansion to talk to Holly. He wanted to get back together with her. Holly was excited until he confessed that he slept with Sophia. She thought she would be sick. Tate told her that he loved her, but he wanted to see how things went with Sophia. He walked out of the mansion.
