Recap written by Suzanne

Zende and Ridge have a meeting. Zende isn’t thrilled about Hope For the Future getting budget cuts, due to Eric’s extra line. He’s even less thrilled that RJ, who had no design experience, worked on Eric’s line. Ridge tells him that was Eric’s call.

RJ and Luna talk about Steffy and how they had a great time visiting her and Finn last night. Luna leaves to have lunch with her mom.  RJ goes by Ridge’s office,  so he tells Zende that it’s true that Eric picked him. This doesn’t make Zende feel any better. He yells some more. Ridge yells back at him a little and then storms out. RJ thinks they should tell him about Eric, but Ridge is against it. He feels it was a mistake to tell Thomas and Steffy. RJ cries about how he’s not ready to lose his grandad, so he and Ridge embrace.
Bill goes to Il Giardino and gives Sheila a hard time, warning her not to come near his family. She tells him what she’s been telling everyone about how she’s changed, and they give each other grief.  Then she can tell that he’s distracted after Poppy arrives to meet Luna.  Poppy and Luna catch up and Bill keeps staring at them.  Later, Bill goes over to them and ask Poppy if he knows her because she looks very familiar.

Transcript provided by and proofread by Suzanne

Brooke: I do understand that you and Hope are enjoying each other’s company.

Thomas: Yeah, it’s– it is more than that, Brooke.

Brooke: Yeah, I don’t even know how you can say that. Her marriage did just end.

Thomas: Yes, it did and I am very sensitive to that.

Brooke: And if you were sensitive to that, you would give her some space.

Thomas: You know, if Hope wants space, she can tell me. And I’m just going to follow her lead on that.

Brooke: Well, just keep your expectations really low. I mean, she may be caught up in this whole thing right now, but deep down, she’s really mourning the loss of her marriage to Liam.

Liam: You are my wife. Of course, I’m always going to care about you, Hope.

Hope: And I’m always going to care about you, Liam, but there’s a line, so you don’t need to worry about me. I’m– I’m fine.

Liam: Sorry. I wish things had gone differently.

Hope: Well, they didn’t. And this is my life now without you. And you’re going to have to accept that.

Finn: Okay, okay, it’s your turn now. I’ve told enough embarrassing stories about my poor cousin.

Luna: No, I mean, did you really have to tell them about the carnival?

RJ: Well, I thought it was adorable. It was adorable.

Steffy: Like, clowns are scary. I mean, remember when I dressed up as one on Halloween and then you locked yourself in your room? [ Laughs ]

RJ: I was two years old, Steffy. You gave me nightmares for years, do you remember that part?

Finn: Well, you guys both have a lot in common, then.

Steffy: You two are really working well together. Helping our granddad with the line.

Luna: I mean, that was exhilarating. It was, like, a total crash course on learning the fashion business and one of the biggest highlights of my life.

RJ: She’s been crushing it. She did awesome, the whole thing.

Steffy: That’s what I’ve heard.

Steffy: I still can’t believe Dad let Granddad think he won the fashion challenge.

Finn: It’s the sweetest gesture.

Steffy: Sweetest thing ever.

Finn: And I respect Ridge enormously for doing that.

RJ: Me too.

Finn: Hey, RJ.

RJ: Yeah?

Finn: Why don’t you and I go for a swim in the ocean?

RJ: Right now? Yeah.

Finn: Yeah.

RJ: I’m super down. Always. Is that okay with you?

Luna: Absolutely. Go for it.

RJ: Sure?

Steffy: Luna and I will be fine. Give us a chance to get to know each other better.

Thomas: Look, it’s always painful when a family splits up.

Brooke: But it goes beyond that. And I don’t think you realize, Thomas, how much she really treasured her life with Liam.

Liam: Well, that same feeling that I had when I married you… it– it hasn’t gone away. It’s still– it’s still there.

Hope: I– I don’t know how you expect me to believe that, Liam.

Liam: I could have done more to show it, but… I’m never going to stop loving you and that’s just– that shouldn’t come as a surprise to you because I think that you’re never going to stop loving me, either. That’s what I think.

Luna: Finn and I were super close when I was little. He was always the protective older cousin.

Steffy: It’s good to have him in your corner.

Luna: Yeah, I mean, it’s been a while. I’m just glad that we’re getting reacquainted again.

Steffy: Well, Finn’s excited you’re here, and I can tell my baby brother is, too.

Finn: All right, we’re heading out.

Steffy: Hey, now. Too bad it’s dark out. Look at those abs. Look at those pecs, baby.

Finn: All for you, babe. See you in a bit, okay?

Steffy: Okay.

RJ: Hey, don’t grill her too much, okay? Just take it kind of easy on her, please.

Steffy: I’ll try.

RJ: Okay.

Steffy: Be careful.

Finn: Right, we will.

RJ: Come on, come on.

Luna: They’re crazy. I’m– I’m too afraid of sharks.

Steffy: Yeah, they– they are definitely crazy. But you should get out there at one point. RJ could teach you how to surf.

Luna: Okay, that I might be into.

Steffy: I can definitely tell you that you are into RJ.

Luna: Okay, well, yeah, I– I always knew he was in good shape, but, wow.

[ Both laughing ]

Steffy: Well, they’re two sweet guys. And got to say, they are easy on the eyes.

Luna: Yeah. Um, can I be honest with you about something, Steffy?

Thomas: Brooke, I mean, you should understand more than anyone, Hope doesn’t want to be with someone where his attention is divided, where she can be with someone who only wants her. I mean, you of all people should understand that.

Brooke: I agree. Hope deserves a man who is completely devoted to her.

Thomas: Just so long as it isn’t me.

Brooke: Look, I know that you’ve been working on yourself, Thomas, trying to make yourself a– a better person. I get it. And maybe Hope sees something that I don’t see. And I know she’s very attracted to you and having fun with this fling, but she’s made it very clear that she’s not in love with you and she may never be. Can you live with that?

Hope: I will always have a connection to you, Liam. We’ve been through so much together and our beautiful daughter–

Liam: Who Thomas tried to convince us was dead.

Hope: You know, you keep bringing that up.

Liam: Yeah, I keep bringing it up and I’m not going to stop bringing it up, and frankly– frankly, I’m appalled that you have.

Hope: I have not forgotten, Liam, but if I let the past rule me, I will never be able to live in the present. Thomas has earned my trust. He’s apologized, he’s taken accountability and not just with empty words, but with action.

Liam: I don’t get you giving that guy an ounce of slack, much less whatever this is.

Hope: All right. Okay, great. Fine. Awesome. Yeah, maybe I have a blind spot where Thomas is concerned. Wonderful. And if you really need to know, sure, we– we are taking things day by day.

Liam: What does that mean? You’re just like– no strings? You’re just having sex?

Hope: Yeah.

Liam: O– okay, so you’re just like, hooking up. See, that’s not you. That’s not who you are.

Hope: Liam, you don’t know me. I’m starting to think maybe you never did. Maybe you just loved the idea of me. But Thomas, he sees me. And I am able to put my wants, my needs, my desires first. And he, Thomas loves me for it.

Thomas: Okay, it’s getting late.

Brooke: Uh, Thomas, I just want to thank you. It’s important that we spoke.

Thomas: And, yeah, look, I understand that you may never believe in my relationship with Hope, but I think that she does.

Brooke: Okay, just don’t read too much into that because it is a phase.

Thomas: I’m not going to choose to believe that. I believe that there’s a future and I honestly believe that it’s possible Hope opens her heart fully to me.

[ Brooke sighing ]

Steffy: Of course, you can be honest with me, what is it? Is it about RJ?

Luna: No, it’s, um– it’s actually about you.

Steffy: Me?

Luna: Yeah, I– I don’t know if you could tell, but this dinner made me super anxious.

Steffy: I get it, you know. Meeting your boyfriend’s family for the first time is a little overwhelming.

Luna: Yeah, it is. But it’s not just because you’re RI’s sister. It’s because you’re Steffy Forrester. I mean, you’re a fashion icon. You’re larger than life. Um, but it’s not just the fame and the glamor. I mean, what RJ said about you is true. He told me what a compassionate, caring person you are and especially clear how much you care about Eric and your brothers and your parents. You guys are just so blessed to have such a strong, loving family.

Steffy: Thank you. That is super sweet. Yeah, we are– we’re very fortunate. We’re always there to support one another, especially when one person is struggling.

Luna: Yeah, I mean, that’s what I experienced with RJ. That same sense of loyalty. I mean, he’s a wonderful guy. How could I not fall for him?

Steffy: Well, that’s why I invited you over. I can definitely see that the feelings are mutual. And I know it’s still new. You guys are still trying to figure each other out, but I like this whole vibe.

Luna: Yeah, me too.

Finn: Hey.

RJ: Hey. It’s incredible out there. What’s going on? What were you two talking about?

Steffy: Wouldn’t you like to know?

[ Both chuckling ]

Hope: We ended our relationship, Liam. You don’t get to dictate what you think my life should look like.

Liam: I’m not– I’m not– I’m not dictating. I’m not– I’m not dictating. I’m not shaming, I’m just– I’m– I’m concerned about some of the choices you’re making, that’s all.

Hope: Look, I’m sure that this is a lot for you to take in right now. I mean, me being dressed in lingerie for another man.

Liam: It’s not just any other man. Not just any other man.

Hope: Liam, you threw us away! Thomas adores me. And he loves me and only me.

Liam: So did– so did I.

Hope: No, you didn’t. Liam, I wanted your full heart. That’s all I wanted. But for years, I mean– I’m not sure if you will understand this concept, but, um, just because you aren’t sleeping with Steffy doesn’t mean that you aren’t keeping her on the back burner. It doesn’t mean that you’re not withholding a piece of your heart for her. It doesn’t mean that you’re not just keeping the door open just a little bit for the possibility of Steffy. So, no, I never got all your heart.

Liam: I begged you. I begged you not to– not to go back to work with him. I begged you not to turn to him and– and– and then– then there you were. You were kissing him in Rome.

Hope: You still ran to Steffy.

[ All chuckling ]

Finn: No, Luna, seriously, I can’t tell you how cool this is for me.

Luna: I mean, this was such a blast, you guys. Thank you so much for inviting me.

Finn: And look, I know you’ve been having some trouble with my mom.

Steffy: What about Li?

Finn: I– I’ll– I’ll fill you in later. Look, whatever beef between Aunt Poppy and my mom, I mean, that’s between them. It shouldn’t affect our relationship. I always want you to feel welcome here.

Luna: Thank you, Finn, that means the world to me. I just– I wish our moms could get along.

Finn: Yeah.

Liam: Hope, I’m desperate here to– to get through to you, to stop you from wanting to be with Thomas.

Hope: Liam.

Liam: You said yourself, no strings attached, right? And God knows, I mean, how could there be right? Given everything that he’s put us through. I mean, is this– really? This is like– this is how you want to spend your time?

Hope: I don’t know what to tell you, Liam. I don’t– I don’t know how to answer that. I– I don’t know what the future will bring. I just know that I am trying to be present, and I am open to anything.

Liam: Not anything. It’s– okay, oh. Okay, what– so, what? You like– you might want another baby now or…

Hope: I might.

Liam: With Thomas?

Hope: Certainly not with you.

Liam: I mean, are you– are you even using birth control?

Hope: Oh, my God, Liam, that is none of your business! Liam, I don’t know how to make this make sense to you. Thomas sees me! And only me! And I want that! Liam, I– I love you and I know you mean well and I don’t know if I’m making the right or wrong decision. I don’t have the answers. I just know what I want.

Liam: Thomas.

Hope: Yes. Thomas makes me happy. Liam, and I–

Liam: Oh, great. That’s– that’s great.

Thomas: Liam. What are you doing here?

Liam: I have a child who lives here.

Thomas: Yeah, the kids are over at Katie’s. You okay?

Liam: Are you– what kind of question is that? I’m sorry, can we not– like, can we just– can we stop this? Can we end this now? Can we end it?

Hope: Liam. I know you loved me. All those years. But, Liam… as much as it pains me to say this… this is not your home anymore. So, yes, we will parent Beth together, but the man in my life now… is Thomas. A man who loves me with all of his heart. And I love him for that.

Thomas: You said that I love you with all of my heart.

Hope: It’s because you do.

Thomas: And you said that you love me for that.

Hope: I suppose I did.

Brooke: Here you go, sweetheart.

Hope: Thank you, mom. I knew you’d have more candles up at the house.

Brooke: Is this why you’re having Katie watch the kids?

Hope: Uh, yes. And I appreciate all the help I can get.

Brooke: All right. Well, I see what’s going on here. Would you like me to bring you some lingerie too?

Hope: Mom!

Brooke: Hope, come on. You know how I feel about your relationship with Thomas.

Luna: I know I shouldn’t be nervous, but I am.

RJ: You’re nerv– why are you nervous? It’s just my sister and your cousin. It’s just family.

Luna: No, Finn’s family. But Steffy’s the CEO of Forrester Creations and she’s a world renowned fashion icon. I just, I don’t know. I just, I really wanna make a good impression.

Finn: I’m– I’m so sorry.

Steffy: He’s– I just can’t believe it.

Finn: Is there anything I can do?

Steffy: My grandfather’s dying. His condition is so hopeless that he doesn’t want anyone to know about it, and I’m just supposed to just pretend like everything is normal when all I wanna do is just grab him and never let go.

Finn: Let’s reschedule tonight.

Steffy: No, no. I don’t wanna do that. We already sent the kids off with my mom. And I am looking forward to meeting the woman who is spending so much time with my little brother.

Hope: Uh, Mom, I think it’s pretty obvious that Thomas and I won’t be looking at fabric swatches tonight.

Brooke: Hope, please just hear me out. I understand that you wanna try to move on with your life and maybe have a little fun, especially after what happened today, but why does it have to be with Thomas?

Hope: Mom, you know why. We have a bond. We know each other. We trust each other. And I don’t have to beg for his undivided attention.

Brooke: Honey, that attention was unwanted at one time, remember? And very obsessive.

Hope: Okay, well, it’s not anymore. And Thomas is going to be here soon, so I should finish getting ready. So please, Mom, don’t worry. I got it under control. Everything is fine, okay? Everything is fine.

[ Brooke sighing ]

Luna: You think I’m being ridiculous.

RJ: No, I don’t think you’re being ridiculous. You’re right. Steffy’s a big deal in the fashion world. But hey, come on. One day, you could be too.

Luna: Okay.

RJ: What? What are you laughing at? No, I’m serious. Luna, come on. Look at you. You have drive. You have passion. You were able to handle all of the major players at that fashion show perfectly. My granddad already loves you. I mean, come on. I could go on. I hear– I hear, it’s a rumor, that, you know, the newest designer at Forrester is actually really taking a Liking to you.

Luna: Oh, yeah?

RJ: Yeah. Yeah, it’s a rumor, you know. Luna, I think his big sister is gonna realize just how beautiful and charming you are, just like he does.

Finn: Wild my cousin’s working at Forrester.

Steffy: You didn’t know Luna was into fashion?

Finn: Well, anyone who’s ever met her knows that. It’s just quite the coincidence.

Steffy: Well, she’s been good luck for us. Everybody at Forrester raves about her. And it seems like, uh, RJ is her biggest fan.

Finn: Well, I’m pretty sure you’ll be a fan, too, after tonight.

Steffy: I really hope so. Because RJ is such a sweet guy and he deserves a special woman.

Finn: That’s what my mom always said about me. Look how that turned out.

[ Knock on door ]

Hope: Thomas, you’re early.

Finn: Hey, what’s up?

RJ: Hi. Good to see you.

Finn: Come on in.

Luna: Hi.

RJ: For you, for the evening.

Finn: Oh, wow. Thank you. Oh, this is– this is great. I thought you were more of a beer guy.

RJ: Yeah, well, you know, special occasion. I thought– hey!

Steffy: Hi.

RJ: What’s up? Good to see you.

Steffy: Luna, so wonderful to meet you.

Luna: Hi. This is– I’ve– it’s– it’s wonderful to meet you, too. [ Chuckles ]

Steffy: Well, make yourself at home. We have charcuterie. We have some drinks. Come on in.

Finn: Yeah. Yeah, guys, come– come in.

RJ: Oh, this looks good.

Finn: Luna, like, how are you Liking L.A.?

Luna: I mean, I still can’t believe that I’m actually here. I mean, I’m driving past like, so many famous locations like movie studios and Beverly Hills. It’s pretty crazy.

Finn: Yeah. I– I was just saying how wild it is. I mean, my cousin is here living in L.A. And she’s working at Forrester Creations.

Luna: Yeah, it’s surreal. I mean, so much has happened in such a short amount of time.

RJ: Yeah. And she’s– she’s been a huge help too as well with Granddad’s collection. I mean, we– we could not have done it without her. She was helping getting all the materials we needed with that beautiful smile on her face the whole time.

Thomas: No, no, no. That’s actually, uh, that’s a great idea. Um, yeah, but actually I’m– I’m heading outta the office right now, but maybe we can talk about a first thing? I’ll talk to you then. Okay, bye.

Brooke: Oh, good, Thomas, you’re still here.

Thomas: Uh, yes, I am. But I am leaving actually right now.

Brooke: You in a hurry?

Thomas: Yes, I have dinner plans.

Brooke: Okay. Well, that can wait. I’d like to talk to you before you go see Hope.

Hope: What are you doing here, Liam?

Liam: What? Uh, well, uh, Beth has a– a sleepover this weekend and I thought she could, uh, use her sleeping bag. She’s not here, obviously, is she?

Hope: No, she is with Katie.

Liam: What is this? What– what– what are you doing? What are you wearing?

Hope: Oh, this– this is, uh, called lingerie.

Liam: Yeah, I know it– are you– are you expecting Thomas?

Hope: You know what? I will make sure that Beth has her sleeping bag when you come to pick her up, okay?

Liam: Okay. Well, I– I’m sorry. Hold on. We’re– we’re just not gonna talk about the scantily clad elephant in the room or what?

Hope: What? What? What? What do you want to know, Liam?

Liam: What I wanted– what I– touché. I guess I don’t know what I wanna know because– I– I– I– I’m sorry. I never asked you how far you and Thomas have gone because I didn’t think I wanted to know and– and now–

[ Liam scoffing ]

Hope: And now you know.

Steffy: So, you weren’t intimidated at all helping Eric Forrester create his most opulent line ever?

Luna: Uh, no. It was actually really fascinating and so inspiring, the way Eric just threw himself into his craft and he just found so much joy in everything, despite all that’s happening to him. I’m sorry, RJ told me that you just found out.

Steffy: Yeah. Still trying to process it.

Luna: I shouldn’t have brought it up, I’m sorry.

Steffy: No, it’s– it’s fine. It’s fine. I’m glad that you did. I think we should just get it out, you know, as a family.

Finn: Eric’s just not ready.

Steffy: Neither am I. Thought of losing our grandfather is unthinkable.

RJ: It’s okay. I couldn’t process it either when he told me and I had all these questions for him and– sorry. Yeah, it’s just, yeah. He just wanted to work on the collection, so that’s what we did. We got it done.

Luna: Yeah. I mean, it wasn’t grim, though. I mean, it was really long days, long hours, but, um, you and your grandfather made it really fun.

Finn: Well, something tells me that you helped with that, too.

RJ: She did. He would be– we’d working those long hours and he would start getting frustrated with the design or something and she’d just come right in and she’d like, ask him a question about his history in the fashion industry and his legacy. It was perfect. She was– she was amazing.

Luna: I mean, his stories were amazing and so funny.

[ Luna laughing ]

Steffy: Thank you, Luna. Seriously, thank you for being there for RJ and our grandfather, helping my brother carry this burden and distract our grandfather from this illness. You allowed them to enjoy their time together and I… I couldn’t be more grateful.

Thomas: If you know that I’m seeing Hope, then you know I don’t wanna be late.

Brooke: Okay. Uh, look, it’s been a long emotional day for everybody. So, maybe it’s best that you spend some time with your sister, your father.

Thomas: Anyone but your daughter. Look, I get it, Brooke. You still have misgivings about me, but your daughter doesn’t.

Brooke: That’s what worries me the most.

Thomas: What do you want me to do? You want me to apologize again?

Brooke: Apologizing doesn’t help unless you change your behavior.

Thomas: But I have changed my behavior. I– I have over and over again and you’ve told me that you’ve seen the change in me, the progression and so has my sister and my father. My entire family has, and so has your daughter. She’s told me that she truly believes in me now.

Hope: It’s already been a tough day. I just really want to unwind and enjoy my night with Thomas without any kind of drama, all right?

Liam: You– you wanna unwind with– are you even– are you even hearing yourself?

Hope: My plans don’t have to meet your approval, Liam.

Liam: Candles, wine, Lingerie. This is– this is the guy who let us think our daughter was dead, and now you’re inviting him into that same daughter’s home?

Hope: Beth and Douglas are away for the night.

Liam: Beth wouldn’t even be in our lives if Thomas had his way. We would still be grieving right now. Do you ever– do you ever think about that?

Hope: Liam, that was years ago. It wasn’t yesterday. And I get that this is a shock for you!

Liam: As an exercise, maybe just try imagining a life without Beth. Just– just imagine that. Imagine the kind of mind it takes to see your grief, to see your suffering and think, “Oh, this is going according to plan.” Just imagine that for a second. Then tell me how you wanna unwind with Thomas.

Steffy: Okay, Listen. Gotta admit something. We’ve, uh–

Finn: We’ve got– we’ve been really– we’ve been really busy.

Steffy: Yeah, we have. I mean, obviously, with family stuff and me being away and–

Finn: We– we normally, but we just did not have time to cook.

Steffy: So, we– we ordered in.

Finn: Yeah.

Luna: Okay. Well, takeout’s my favorite food group.

RJ: Takeout is the food group, so yeah.

Finn: But you guys are gonna love this place. It’s– it’s right down by the pier. Um, and– oh, unless, um, do you still have that thing about fish?

Luna: Oh, my gosh! How do you still remember that?

Finn: Well, it turns out taking your little cousin to a seafood restaurant after visiting the aquarium is a supremely bad idea.

Steffy: Ooh. Yeah.

Luna: Okay. But I have matured a lot since then.

Finn: No. Yeah, but it– but it sounds like you’re just as sensitive and caring as ever.

Steffy: Well, that’s exactly what we need at Forrester. It’s so important to have people in your life that you can rely on knowing that they’re gonna be there through anything. That’s what matters. Real security. I’m just glad to be home with my family. Be back at Forrester. I’m really excited to work with you again, RJ. And I’m excited to get to know you more, Luna.

RJ: Well, here’s to the future.

Steffy: To the future.

Finn: To the future. Cheers.

Thomas: Look, I can’t help the way that you feel right now, Brooke, but I’m also not gonna allow your emotions to affect mine.

Brooke: Thomas, I’m concerned about you as well. I don’t want you to get hurt in this situation either.

Thomas: Nobody is going to get hurt. Hope and I have told you that.

Brooke: Okay. I don’t get it. You are a handsome, successful man surrounded by beautiful, intelligent women everywhere you go.

Thomas: Thank you. But like I’ve told Hope, I only wanna be with her.

Brooke: She doesn’t feel the same way. She doesn’t love you like that, Thomas.

Thomas: She has been burned by love. She doesn’t even believe in it right now.

Brooke: And she’ll never forget the pain that you caused her and her family. That will always be there. There is no way around it.

Thomas: I understand where you’re coming from. Look, yes, we’ve been having amazing times recently. That hasn’t changed that we have had issues in the past. It’s very complicated, but the– the moments that we have had over the last few months have been incredible.

Brooke: Okay. Well, Hope is lost right now. She’s not herself. But she’s going to find her way back. And when she does, this connection that you feel like you have with her is going to be cut.

Liam: Okay. So, you have just forgotten everything Thomas has done to us.

Hope: No, Liam, I haven’t.

Liam: I mean, like, should we review this is the same guy who, uh, convinced us our daughter was dead, used his son to get close to you.

Hope: Thomas has taken responsibility for that, Liam. He’s grown.

Liam: Oh, give me a break. The closer he gets to you, the more unhinged he becomes. How do you not see that by now?

Hope: Because Thomas has changed, Liam. How have you not seen that? And so have I.

Liam: What does that even mean?

Hope: It means I’m not the same woman I was before. I mean, my world got turned upside down when our marriage imploded. And after years of forgiving you, to see you not offer me an ounce of understanding, for you to just turn your back so callously? And I thought I knew you. So, uh, yeah. No. Now, I see the world in a whole new way, and you, of all people, do not get to stand there and judge me.

Liam: I’m not– I’m not– I’m not judging you. I’m scared for you. Move on if you want, just not with Thomas.

Hope: Oh. Oh, you mean a man that prioritizes me and who doesn’t have eyes for other women? Who loves me? Yeah. You don’t get to sit there and tell me to move on and dump him when things got hard for us and you went and ran to Steffy.

Liam: I am sorry that I hurt you… but you and I are connected for the rest of our life because of our daughter, because of Beth. My kids are the most important thing in the world to me. I love them, which means I’m gonna worry for them, which means I’m gonna worry for you. And damn if I don’t still love you. Always will.

[ Contemplative music ]

Steffy: Granddad’s been sick the entire time I’ve been gone? I– I wouldn’t have left if– if I knew.

Ridge: Don’t do that. You couldn’t have known. We didn’t know.

Steffy: How’s Donna?

Ridge: She’s okay. It was hard for her in the beginning because she didn’t have anyone, but now she’s got Katie and Brooke. That’s why she went over there now.

Steffy: Oh.

Thomas: This, uh… it doesn’t feel real.

Steffy: Yeah.

Thomas: Right? He can’t– he can’t go. I’m not ready to lose him.

Ridge: I’m not either.

Donna: Honey, um, why don’t we just chill by the pool today? It’s– it’s a gorgeous day.

Katie: You know, you did what you wanted to do. You won the fashion challenge. You beat Ridge. I think that deserves a little bit of a breather.

Eric: To the victor belong the spoils. I’m going to go into my building, into my office. I’m gonna put my feet on my desk.

[ Eric coughing ]

Donna: Here you go.

Eric: Thank you, but it’s all right. It’s all right. I’m fine. I’m not going to die today.

[ Eric coughing ]

Eric: I’m sorry. Excuse me. I have this, uh, this cough thing, and every time– every time I cough, she thinks it’s gonna be the death of me. What– what do I owe this visit?

Brooke: Uh, well, I have a break in my schedule and I thought it would be nice to spend some time with my sisters.

Eric: Ah, good.

Brooke: So, are you going to the office?

Eric: Yes. Yes. My office. Yes, I am. Uh-huh. Is Ridge there?

Brooke: Yeah, he is.

Eric: Good, good. I want to see him. I want to talk to him. But don’t worry, I won’t gloat about his loss. Not too much. I’ll see you later. Bye.

Brooke: Bye. How are you holding up?

Donna: I don’t know. I’m just trying to hold it together, you know. It’s been killing me, keeping this a secret.

Brooke: Yeah. Well, uh–

Katie: What is it? What’s going on?

Donna: Brooke, what?

Brooke: Uh, Ridge couldn’t hold back. He said he couldn’t look his kids in the eye and just lie to them, let alone hide his feelings, so…

Donna: What are you saying, Brooke?

Brooke: So, he– he told Steffy and Thomas the truth about their grandfather.

Thomas: So, we’re really supposed to keep this a secret?

Ridge: Granddad doesn’t want anyone to know.

Steffy: Just act like everything’s fine?

Carter: Seems like I walked in on something.

Ridge: Just filling Steffy in on what she missed.

Carter: Okay. Maybe you can fill me in too? You’ve been avoiding me. Do they know?

Ridge: Do they know what?

Carter: About the fashion challenge? The showcase that Eric won?

Ridge: Yeah, they know.

Carter: Okay, then I need answers. After months of hard work, us bending the budget forwards and backwards so this showcase can happen, you what? You just– you just give away the win? Your designs outsold Eric’s that day, so why did you let him believe you won?

Donna: I can understand why Ridge would wanna tell Thomas and Steffy about Eric. I mean, it would be too difficult to keep it from them, but listen, Eric cannot know that they know.

Brooke: They understand.

Donna: Thank you. Now, I just– I just have to pull it together because I– I need to be strong for Eric.

Brooke: Donna, you’ve been his rock through this.

Donna: But then why do I feel like I’m just falling apart?

Katie: Because you shouldn’t have to go through this all by yourself.

Donna: Well, what choice do I have? I mean, I– uh, Eric doesn’t want anyone to know.

Brooke: I wish he would just give up on the need to feel like he has to keep his condition to himself. We could all be there for him and love him and support him. But instead, we have to play this charade and pretend like everything is fine when nothing could be further from the truth.

Donna: I know.

[ Knock on door ]

Hope: Hi. Um, is Eric around because I had a few ideas for hope for the future and I– Aunt Donna, is everything okay?

Donna: Yeah. Why? Of course, everything’s fine. I just, um– um– I–

Hope: Mom. What is– what is going on?

Brooke: Uh…

Donna: You can tell her.

Hope: Tell me what?

Brooke: Sweetheart, it’s Eric. He’s sick.

Hope: Sick?

Brooke: Well, it’s awful, really. He’s– he’s dying. Eric is dying.

Carter: What is this, Ridge? Come on. Why are you avoiding my question? You let Eric believe he won the fashion challenge. Why?

Ridge: I wanted to see him happy. It means a lot to him.

Carter: No, I know how much you were looking forward to winning. I was there when you saw the numbers. I showed them to you. Now, you weren’t thrilled it got this far, but you were happy you won. You believed you should be sitting behind that desk. You asked me to keep it quiet. You wanted to be the one to tell Eric he lost. And out of nowhere, I hear that you announced him and RJ the winners? You see, the more you avoid my question, the more I want an answer. Talk to me, man. What is this? There has to be a reason. Do you two know why?

Ridge: Carter, just…

Eric: Well, look at this.

[ Eric chuckling ]

Eric: I’m glad to see that my office is being used as a conference room. That hasn’t really changed. Although, I have to say, I don’t want anyone to sit behind my desk, all right?

Ridge: No one’s gonna sit in your chair, Dad, because winner takes all, right?

Eric: And I will. Yes, that’s right. I forgot that a little healthy competition is really good for an artist. And you did that to me. You did some really wonderful work and you forced me to do some of the best work in my career. In– in my whole life.

Ridge: Is this you saying thank you? Is that what this is?

Eric: No, although I do appreciate it. It was really fun beating you. What’s this? Why are you all looking like that? Oh, I think I understand. Your father got to you, didn’t he?

Steffy: Yes, he did. He told us everything.

Hope: I don’t understand. How could Eric be dying? He seemed more energized than ever. He completed his last collection. I mean, he beat Ridge in the showdown, so…

Brooke: I know, I know. We were all shocked to find out about his condition.

Hope: How long has he been sick?

Donna: Um, well, uh, we– we– we started seeing symptoms a few months ago.

Hope: So, he’s– he’s just been in pain this entire time?

Donna: Yeah, we thought the tremors was just arthritis really, and– and that’s why we asked RJ to help him design because he couldn’t sketch.

Hope: So, that’s how RJ became involved in all this?

Donna: Yeah. RJ was Literally Eric’s hands.

Brooke: Eric is a very proud man, so it was devastating for him to think that maybe he wouldn’t be able to design anymore.

Donna: Especially when he felt that he had so much more to create.

Hope: Oh, so that’s why he wanted to call this collection his grand finale.

Katie: What’s crazy is that if Ridge had known about Eric’s condition, he never would have tried to stand in Eric’s way.

Donna: Well, we didn’t know the full extent of it at first. We just thought that we’d have time to figure it out, you know?

Hope: I’m so sorry, Donna.

Brooke: Honey, it’s important that you don’t let Eric know that you found out. Because he only thinks that Katie and Donna and RJ know.

Katie: But word is spreading.

Hope: But why wouldn’t he want everyone to know?

Donna: He doesn’t want to be pitied.

Hope: We wouldn’t pity him. We love him. He’s always been there for all of us and now, when he needs our support the most, we’re just, what? We’re supposed to pretend like we don’t know? I’m sorry. That’s just– Mom…

Brooke: I know, honey. I know.

Eric: So, what exactly did your father tell you? Thomas?

[ Eric chuckling ]

Eric: Your– your kids are tongue-tied here? Well, I think they can’t quite believe that their grandfather beat the great Ridge Forrester.

Ridge: Well, if I’m great, Dad, it’s because of everything you’ve given me.

Eric: What about you, Carter? Were you surprised that I won the fashion challenge?

Carter: I have to admit, yes. But not too surprised, though. You’re Eric Forrester. I’m very excited to see you back at the forefront for many years to come. Now, I should get going. Thanks to you, I have several orders to manage. Catch you later, Ridge.

Eric: Nobody should be that surprised. Not really. I mean, I’m older, God knows. And, uh, I’ve lost a few steps here and there, but there’s still a lot of– a lot of gas in the tank. And besides, we do art here. Art lives forever. It never dies and it’s our job to be sure it’s never forgotten. It’s like, uh, like this– this old stapler here. It’s been here since the very first day. Helping– helping this– this company start from the beginning and to last forever, but he got– he got lost and he got forgotten for a while. But now, it’s back, like me. These are going to be mighty days at Forrester. They really are. And I’m going to make the most of every day I have left.

Ridge: Dad, you–

Eric: Look Ridge, uh, you know, I’m not naive. My days are limited. Time is not on my side.

Steffy: Grandad, please don’t say that.

Eric: Steffy, it’s true. Look, I’m not gonna just, uh, go quietly off into the good night somewhere. I’m not gonna do that. And Ridge, you– you, hey, you want me to– you wanted me to just retire. To sit back and Llie back on some– some yacht somewhere. But life is meant to be lived and I intend to live every day of my life until my last.

Brooke: Ridge has told Steffy and Thomas about their grandfather.

Hope: And how did they take the news?

Brooke: Well, like you. Shocked and in disbelief.

Hope: Oh, I just don’t understand why he thinks that we would pity him? When we could support him and show him our– our– our love.

Katie: It’s his decision.

Hope: Maybe it’s the wrong one. I’m sorry, but…

Katie: No, no, I– believe me. We all felt the same way when we found out about Eric’s illness, but it’s not about how we feel. It’s about how he feels. It’s his decision, how he wants to live his life. And he says he wants to live until he dies.

Donna: Exactly. That’s– that’s what he keeps saying. No sorrow. No tears.

Katie: We can love and support him by honoring his wishes and not treat him like he’s dying. Just try to treasure every moment we have with him.

Donna: That’s so hard, but that’s what I’m trying to do. To– to live in the moment. To love in the moment. And as– as horrible as this is, Eric’s happy. I mean, you should see how excited he is about life. I mean, you should have seen him designing with RJ in this room. He was– he was on fire. And– and the look on his face when he learned that he won the– the showdown. That’s what he wants to do, until the end. Smiles and laughter and love.

Brooke: Don’t worry, honey. We’ll all get through this together, as a family.

Eric: Time stops for no man. Not even your grandfather. And don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere very soon, and certainly not after my greatest achievement.

Ridge: No, that was your finest hour. Mine, too. Because I got to share the stage with you.

Eric: It was fun, wasn’t it?

Ridge: It was. You inspire me.

Thomas: You inspire me too, Granddad. You know, I don’t– I don’t know if you actually remember this at all. I must have been like 14. Yeah. Um, I had an art project for school.

Eric: I know. I know. It was the, uh… it was that watercolor.

Thomas: Yeah.

Eric: Yeah.

Thomas: That was it. It was amazing. You just, I– it made no sense to me, right? And you were just eager to help. That’s always how you are. You’re just, you’re– you’re thoughtful, you’re caring and you’re always there and um, it meant a lot to me. But you– you taught me then, but you still continue to teach me now. Not just as a designer, but as a man.

Eric: Yeah.

Steffy: The truth is you’ve always been a light in our family. I remember when I was really little, when I’d come here and yeah, I was kind of excited to see the gowns, but I was really excited to see you working behind the desk and creating.

Eric: I thought it was just because of the jelly beans in the top drawer?

Steffy: Yeah, that– that,  too.

[ Eric laughing ]

Steffy: But even when you were so busy, you always– you always made time for me. I looked up to you then and I still look up to you. You know how close we are. like we’ve always had this connection and maybe part of it is because I’m grandmother’s namesake, but…

Eric: Two beautiful, wonderful, fearless women.

Ridge: Fearless. Everyone gets that from you. The great Eric Forrester.

Brooke: I know you’ve been trying to reach Thorne and Kristen and Felicia. So, have they gotten back to you yet?

Ridge: No, not yet. I’m dreading this. I– I don’t want to tell them about Dad. I don’t want to talk about it. How did we get here? I– I know– I don’t want to lose my dad.

Brooke: I know that. And Eric is everything to all of us.

Ridge: Okay. Um, Rick and Bridget, did you get in touch with them?

Brooke: No, actually that’s something I would like to tell them in person. Haven’t told Hope yet either. What about Steffy and Thomas?

Ridge: I texted them. They’re on their way over. They deserve to know about their granddad.

Eric: No, no, Aldo, no, no, no. I was the driving force behind the new Couture line, not Ridge. Uh, of course, I had– I had the help of my wonderful grandson, RJ. I couldn’t have done it without him. Sorry, Aldo, I’m gonna have to call you back. Yeah, ciao. I’m okay. I’m fine. I’m fine.

Luna: Your grandfather and you, you guys are uber talented.

RJ: Well, it’s no secret, Eric Forrester has been king of the fashion world for decades. And uh, he still has so much more beauty to create. It’s just not fair what’s happening to him.

Luna: Look, you’re right about your grandfather. His amazing talent and the gift that he’s given the world with his elegant designs throughout the years, but I’ll bet if you asked him, he’d say that his greatest gift is you and his family. The Forresters. It’s the family he adores who adores him. Look, I know how much you love and respect him, RJ.

RJ: I do. It’s just– I just don’t believe this is it for him.

Luna: Mom! But I thought you left.

Poppy: I was about to, but I got detained by your Aunt Li.

RJ: Hi. I’m Ridge Forrester, Jr. RJ. It’s– it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’ve heard so many good things about you from her.

Poppy: Well, it’s lovely to finally meet you. I’ve heard a lot about you from my daughter.

RJ: You have? Good things, I hope? Yes? No, she’s– she’s been an incredible addition to Forrester Creations. I’m so happy she’s here.

Donna: You need to call your doctor.

Eric: Why? So he can tell us what we already know? That my time is running out.

Donna: I wish you would stop saying that.

Eric: It’s the reality, darling. It’s a reality that we all have to face together. I’m sorry.

Katie: Hello. Hi.

Eric: Hey.

Katie: Um, everything okay?

Eric: Yeah, it’s fine.

Donna: Yeah.

Katie: I’m not interrupting anything?

Eric: No, not at all. You’re always welcome here.

Katie: Okay. How are you doing?

Eric: I’m fine. How are you?

Katie: I’m well. I’m actually here because I have an update regarding the fashion challenge. As you know, no one outside the building was aware that you and Ridge were going head-to-head.

Eric: And that I beat him. Taught my son a lesson.

Brooke: You made a beautiful sacrifice, allowing Eric to win the fashion challenge.

Ridge: I just wish I could change things.

Brooke: I know.

Thomas: Hey. Got your text.

Steffy: Yeah. What’s– what’s going on?

Thomas: What’s up?

Ridge: Well, there’s something we both need to know about your grandfather.

Luna: I’ve always wanted to be where I am right now. Interning at a major design house like Forrester Creations. Learning from the best. I’m just– it’s all a dream come true.

Poppy: Well, your mother couldn’t be any prouder of you. To see my beautiful baby girl realizing her dream, it brings me such joy.

RJ: Oh. She’s– she’s been a wonderful addition to everyone here at Forrester. And the other day she, uh, she found my granddad’s stapler. Which is– which is a long story, which I’m not gonna get into, but she’s great.

Luna: Um, RJ’s grandparents founded Forrester Creations like many years ago. And his grandfather is highly revered by everyone.

RJ: Yeah, me especially. He’s, uh, he’s taught me a lot.

Poppy: About fashion?

RJ: Yeah. And life. He’s a– he’s one of the strongest people I know.

Poppy: I can see how much he means to you.

RJ: He does. So, does she. She’s– she’s been amazing here. Truly. No, truly. I mean, it. She’s been incredible and uh, I’d hate to lose her.

Eric: I really feel vindicated, you know. I think I proved a point. I won the fashion showdown fair and square.

Donna: Oh, you certainly did. You poured everything of yourself into that. You worked so hard. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so driven and focused.

Eric: I don’t think Ridge thought I could do it. And I couldn’t have done it without RJ’s help. The boy’s a godsend.

Katie: You two make quite a team.

Donna: Yeah.

Eric: He’s a great kid. I hope he continues on at Forrester. I really do. Honing his skill and his talent. The fact is he can do anything in life, actually. He’s gonna– he’s gonna shine whatever he does.

Katie: I don’t think anyone would disagree with that.

Donna: Well, certainly not his parents.

Eric: Yeah.

Donna: I know Ridge and Brooke are so proud of him.

Eric: I hope he finds somebody in this life to love him and stand– stand with him, support him, the way you do with me. I hope he does. Although, I must say, maybe he’s already found it with Luna. I’ve seen them together.

Katie: How would you feel if that were to happen?

Eric: Oh, oh, this– this wonderful, wonderful new, uh, intern who– who found my old stapler for me? Oh, my God.

Katie: Okay. I guess that answers that question.

Eric: Yeah, it does. It does, doesn’t it? It just feels so wonderful to have proven to everybody I still have it. And to prove the naysayers wrong.

Donna: Well, you certainly did that, didn’t you?

Eric: Which is why I need to get into the office. I need to get into the office. I have all these ideas going around in my head, you know?

Donna: What?

Eric: I– I can’t– I can’t control when– when– when the creativity hits. You know that.

Donna: Wait, wait. You have more designs?

Eric: Yeah, I do. I’m gonna, you know, at least I have to flesh out this Couture line of mine.

Donna: Okay. All right, honey bear. I’m– I’m just a little bit confused here. You– you– you won the show and you got your office back.

Eric: I did.

Donna: You– you had your grand finale, your final line.

Eric: Well, I’m not gonna just sit in my office and stare at the four walls. This was a wonderful success. And every Couture line deserves an encore.

Donna: Okay. But what about taking care of yourself? Remember the– spending time together as a family? And travel?

Eric: Yeah– yeah, we’re gonna do all that. We will. But the irony is here I am at the end of my life and I feel more alive and vibrant than I ever have.

Thomas: Okay. So, what’s up with Granddad?

Steffy: Yeah. Does it have to do with the fashion challenge?

Thomas: It probably does. I mean, Granddad won, you lost.

Steffy: We were both kind of surprised about that.

Thomas: Yeah, totally. We thought that you’d end up on top.

Steffy: Okay. What’s going on here? What is this look?

Thomas: Yeah. Did Granddad upset you or something?

Brooke: Uh, no. No, he’s not upset with Eric. It’s quite the opposite.

Steffy: Okay. So, can you tell us what’s going on?

Ridge: Well, first of all, he– he didn’t win the challenge.

Steffy: What do you mean? Everyone was congratulating Granddad. He said he won.

Ridge: That’s how I wanted it.

Thomas: Okay. Um, catch me up here, ’cause you worked for months, really, really hard to– to beat Granddad, and then at the last minute, you’re gonna give it away to him. Why would you do that?

Steffy: Yeah. Tell us. We need to know.

Poppy: I’m sensing you have something else you’d like to say, RJ.

RJ: No. Yes, actually, I should tell you something. I did, um, exchange a few words, uh, with your sister, Li, somewhat recently.

Poppy: About?

RJ: Luna and– and just, I don’t know, I just didn’t understand why she didn’t want her niece working here at Forrester. I mean, with all– with all due respect, it’s just not her decision whether she works here or doesn’t work here.

Poppy: You told Li that?

RJ: I did. Was I– was I overstepping at all?

Poppy: No.

RJ: No?

Poppy: No, no. That was very sweet of you, standing up for my daughter. Thank you. But still, as I said, I was detained by Li earlier. Your aunt’s not backing down, sweetheart. She’s even more adamant about you not working here.

Eric: Donna, you– you support me in this, don’t you?

Donna: That is not fair. You know, I do. I, um, okay. Okay– okay, this is just a lot to process and I really think you need to call your doctor first because that cough is getting–

Eric: The cough is not a big deal. It’s not a big deal.

Donna: What?

Katie: Okay. Eric. I– I don’t know. You should take it from somebody who knows. When you’re being faced with a life-threatening situation, you should seek out specialists.

Eric: I already have.

Katie: No. Here in Los Angeles, maybe, but there has to be someone. There are specialists all over the world who could possibly help.

Eric: And give me false hope? That’s the last thing I want or need in my life right now.

Katie: Okay. What about Bridget? You have a highly respected physician for a daughter. Have you even talked to her?

Eric: No.

Katie: Why not?

Eric: I still don’t want people knowing about my diagnosis, all right?

Steffy: What about Granddad?

Thomas: Yeah, I– I still don’t get it. So, why would you let Granddad win? I mean, did you feel sorry for him?

Ridge: No. Did I? No. I never loved him or respected him more than when I told him that he won.

Thomas: Okay. But?

Steffy: What are you trying to say?

Brooke: Please understand, this isn’t easy for your father. For any of us.

Ridge: You need to know that– that Granddad, he’s– he’s going through some stuff. He’s got tremors and– and, uh, he can’t hold a pencil. Can’t sketch.

Steffy: Well, how did he– how did he create those designs?

Thomas: RJ. That’s why Granddad was working with him.

Ridge: Yeah.

Brooke: Yeah. That’s right. RJ sketched your grandfather’s vision.

Ridge: My dad didn’t want anyone to know, so RJ kept it a secret.

Steffy: How did you find out?

Ridge: Couldn’t keep the secret any longer.

Brooke: It was tearing RJ up inside.

Steffy: Okay. So, what is Granddad exactly dealing with?

Thomas: Yeah. like, what does he have? Is it like arthritis or something?

Ridge: Yeah. No, it’s not that. Um, it’s not good. It’s a– he’s really sick.

Steffy: How sick?

Ridge: He’s dying. Dad is dying.

Luna: Why can’t Aunt Li just stay out of this? I mean, she’s a doctor. That’s her world, not fashion.

RJ: Did– did it get, like, heated between the two of you in– in the past?

Poppy: My sister has very strong opinions. She likes– she expects to get her way.

Luna: No, Mom, you cannot let Aunt Li do that. This is my life. Plus, I’m your daughter, not hers. She doesn’t get to dictate where I work.

RJ: Maybe if I talk to her–

Poppy: No! Thank you. Thank you, RJ, but I don’t wanna put you in the middle.

Luna: Yeah, well neither do I, but we can’t let Aunt Li ruin our lives, okay? We have to stand up to her.

Poppy: I am so sorry this is happening, sweetheart. I hate it.I see how happy you are here. I think I know a big reason why. But your Aunt Li, I don’t see her backing down or giving in. If she keeps this up, she’s going to ruin everything for you.

Donna: We understand how you feel, Eric. Why you wouldn’t want this going public.

Eric: I don’t want pity. I will not be pitied.

Katie: No one is going to pity you. We just all love you so much.

Eric: All the more reason to let the people I love and the people who love me live their lives, not spend their time prematurely mourning the loss of mine.

Donna: But you have to understand, everyone would want to be there for you.

Eric: That’s exactly the point. I don’t want people gathering around with teary faces and sad eyes. I don’t want that. Not the way I live my life. It’s not the way I want to end it, either.

Steffy: Granddad’s dying?

Thomas: I don’t– I don’t understand. It doesn’t make sense. I– I’ve seen him, right? He’s seemed– he’s– he’s been happy and motivated.

Ridge: Well, he’s really good at covering what he doesn’t want other people to know.

Thomas: Obviously. Finding finding this out… now, it all makes sense. That’s why Granddad was so determined to get out his, uh, grand finale.

Steffy: Who else knows?

Brooke: Donna and Katie. I haven’t told Hope yet.

Steffy: What about Uncle Thorne and the rest of the family?

Ridge: I– I called them. Um, and I’ll deal with that. The important thing now is that Dad doesn’t want anyone to know.

Thomas: Wait, does– does he understand that you and Brooke know?

Steffy: What– what can we do? Is there any hope for him at all?

Ridge: I talked to his doctor. He said give him love and support.

Steffy: No, I– I want to see him.

Ridge: I know. I– I understand that, but for Dad’s sake, we have to keep up the charade.

Thomas: You know when I, uh– I think about Granddad.

Steffy: Oh.

Thomas: He’s– he’s always been there for me. As a man, as a designer. This can’t be happening.

Steffy: No. No, it can’t be happening. I can’t imagine our lives without him. I can’t– I can’t imagine him not being here and I– oh, man, I want Kelly and Hayes to spend more time with him. I wanna spend more time with him.

Ridge: We all want that. We’ll be there as a family and we’ll give him all the love and laughter he can have.

Liam: You can’t deny what we shared together, right?

Steffy: I’d never try.

Liam: Hey, look, our lives took different paths but… the love we have for each other, it’s still there. Never went anywhere. I can feel it right now. I know you can too. Ooh, I need a cold shower.

[ Steffy chuckles ]

Liam: I don’t know why you’re putting off the inevitable. Eventually, you’re gonna have to protect yourself and the kids from Sheila. And I can help you do that, Steffy. Leave the guy. Come back to me.

Finn: Appreciate you coming so quickly.

Deacon: Well, I gotta admit I was kind of intrigued by your phone call. So, what’s the occasion? You’re not gonna snap on a rubber glove, are you? Am I overdue for a checkup?

Finn: Yeah, for your brain. If you think there’s any way I’m gonna let Sheila into my life.

Luna: Hey, you want to talk about it?

RJ: No. It’s just… I– I can’t stop thinking about him. I can’t stop thinking about Granddad. The fact that he is– he’s dying and… he’s just not acting like it. like, he’s just acting like this is business as usual. I just wish there was some way I could help him.

Luna: Just keep loving him and be there for him the same way you have been. And listen, you’re not alone anymore. You told your parents about what’s going on, so you can talk to them. And you know I’m here, anytime.

Li: Luna has to go. Do you hear me, Penelope?

Poppy: Loud and clear. But you’re not being reasonable, Li. I mean, Luna would never do anything to hurt anybody. Much less you or Finn. She just wants to work at Forrester Creations.

Li: I’m not having it. Any of it. I want your daughter out of Forrester today.

RJ: Well, I’m happy that you’re not leaving Forrester, though. Even though your Aunt Li really wants you to.

Luna: I don’t get it. You know, I mean, she’s always been so hard on my mom and me. like everything we do spites her somehow.

RJ: Some people are just impossible to please, and maybe your Aunt Li is one of them. I do know one thing though, Aunt Li does not get to dictate who gets to and doesn’t get to work at Forrester.

Li: Luna’s career at Forrester ends today. Have I made myself clear, Penelope?

Poppy: It’s Poppy.

[ Li scoffs ]

Li: No, it’s not. That silly name is not the one our hard-working, loyal parents gave you.

Poppy: Why are you so dismissive of me? Of who I am? You’re my older sister. I want you to accept me. To be close.

Li: You know what you did to me. How you upended my life, almost cost me my career. I won’t let you or your daughter do the same to my son.

Finn: Look, I don’t care if you and Sheila are supposedly in love. And I certainly don’t buy that she’s suddenly some changed person.

Deacon: I– I can’t help but notice that you call her Sheila. She’s your mom. I mean, she carried you. She brought you into this world. Doesn’t that matter to you? Of course it does. I can see that. So can she.

Liam: Finn may be your husband, but he’s also Sheila’s son. And as long as you’re with him, you’re with her. And she will remain as dangerous as ever unless you do something about it now, unless you cut the cord now. We were great together. And I think we could be even better. Alright, now.

Poppy: What do you want from me, Li? Since I can’t change the past, how do I make things right between us? I mean, I’ve apologized over and over again.

Li: You think a few “I’m sorry’s” is going to make up for what you did to me? Never should have gotten you a job at that gift shop.

Poppy: I fell in love.

Li: Oh, God. With a married man? The chief surgeon?

Poppy: I didn’t know that till after.

Li: His wife found out. When she realized that we were sisters, that was the end of me there. I worked hard to become a doctor. Years of dedication and sacrifice. While you– while you just fluttered around like a lost butterfly. No direction, no purpose. Just excuses. Smiling your way through life like you had no worries in the world. What’s with you anyway? Why are you always so happy?

Poppy: It’s easy when you don’t have much. A car that runs. A safe, decent place to live. Friends. My precious Luna. Yeah. And it may not seem like a lot to you, but it’s more than enough for me. Happiness doesn’t have to be dictated by money or success.

Li: Are you belittling my accomplishments?

Poppy: No. Not at all. I am so impressed by and proud of you. But I also wonder, is all that striving worth it if it doesn’t bring you joy? Unless I’m wrong. Are you happy, Li?

Li: What do you think? Knowing what I’ve been through? Finding out the husband I loved and trusted, ;ied to my face every day until his scandalous affair with that sociopath was finally exposed. A woman who tried to kill Finn and me.

Poppy: And I am so sorry for your pain. But there’s a silver lining. I mean, I realize that Sheila’s a dangerous person, but, without her, you wouldn’t have Finn.

Deacon: Sheila wants nothing more than to have a place in your life. A– a place that she’s willing to earn. It doesn’t matter how long it’s gonna take. Look, like it or not, she gave you life. She just wants to be a part of it.

Finn: You know how Steffy feels. She despises Sheila. I don’t want anything to do with her. Sheila needs to accept that and stay the hell away from me and my family.

Steffy: You mean so much to me. And I can’t deny that we’ve had some pretty incredible times. We made a remarkable little girl in Kelly. And you brought so much happiness to my life. And look, I get it, you’re concerned for my safety.

Liam: For good reason.

Steffy: Well, I’m telling you, I can handle Sheila. I’m not running away this time. I am not backing down. And I’m not gonna give up my marriage because of that lunatic.

Deacon: Well, I gotta tell you, I don’t envy you. Caught between your birth mother and your wife. I just– I– I just don’t understand how you don’t want to get to know the woman that brought you into this world.

Finn: Okay, you’re not hearing me. No, Deacon. I don’t. And I didn’t call you here to have some sales pitch on Sheila. I want to let you know in no uncertain terms that woman will never be a part of my life or my family. Now you, you may have wiped the slate clean of every heinous act Sheila’s ever committed, but I haven’t. And I never will and neither will Steffy.

Deacon: Never is a real long time.

Finn: My commitment is to my wife, to my children. They are my family. They are the ones that I fought to be with when Sheila wanted to keep me away. Steffy is my world. I love her more than anything and I won’t risk losing her. Certainly not over Sheila.

Liam: So, what’s the plan here? You’re just– you’re gonna stay in a marriage that constantly puts you and your children in jeopardy?

Steffy: I love Finn. And I’m not walking away from him because of Sheila. I’m not intimidated by her. Look, I love you. I always will. But I am committed to my family, to my husband. And I’m not gonna leave him for anyone, including you.

Liam: All right. I’m sorry to hear that. But just so you know, I’m not giving up because… our story is not finished. In fact, I’m gonna guess it’s barely begun. You and me, we’re gonna– we’re gonna find our way back to each other.

RJ: When did this– you didn’t mention to me that your mom was coming to LA.

Luna: Yeah, I didn’t know. My mom is, um, pretty impulsive, to say the least.

[ RJ chuckles ]

Luna: And also she’s worried about me working here at Forrester.

RJ: Let me guess, because of the overbearing Aunt Li. Ah, I see.

Poppy: Okay, I am not sure that came out right. Hey, I didn’t mean that you should be grateful to Sheila for cheating with your husband. But things happen for a reason. Okay, I believe in fate. That affair produced Finn.

Li: The love of my life. My pride and joy. And everything was perfect in Finn’s life until that deranged birth mother of his showed up. I almost lost him. Imagine if an insane woman put a bullet in Luna.

Poppy: But that’s why I wanted to be there for you. I reached out but you wouldn’t have me.

Li: You should have taken the hint and stayed away. You and Luna. But instead, out of the whole entire world, she ends up right smack in the middle of Forrester Creations? Steffy’s family’s business? And I was supposed to think that’s a coincidence?

Poppy: As opposed to what? A grand conspiracy?

Li: You messed with my life before. I refuse to allow that to happen again with your daughter and my son.

Poppy: You couldn’t be more wrong, Li. Luna came to LA to further her career, not sabotage Finn. Why would she even want to?

Li: Because she was raised by you. Her values instilled by you. A woman who would throw her family under the bus to gratify her own selfish needs.

Poppy: Luna had nothing to do with that. And it’s not right for you to hold her accountable for something that I did. And for the record, again, I did not know that I was sleeping with a married man. And I truly never meant for you to get caught in the fallout.

Li: But that’s who you are, isn’t it? So free and easy. So lovable. The friends, all the friends. The dates. All the attention. Everybody loves Poppy. Talk about unfair.

Poppy: What’s unfair?

Li: That you were able to carry a child and I couldn’t.

Steffy: I thought you had a full day at the hospital.

Finn: I realized the most important thing I have to do is this.

Luna: Mom and Aunt Li didn’t come from privilege. I mean, their parents were working class, so Aunt Li didn’t have any ins or advantages. She’s had to work really hard for everything that she has. But it’s made her really cold and judgmental.

RJ: Well, I mean, that explains why you’re not close to her.

Luna: Well, it’s really hard to be close to her, there’s so many walls up. And, you know, my loyalty is to my mom. She’s always been really hard on her. And it’s been that way for as long as I can remember. I don’t know, I just wish that they could just be close.

RJ: So you wouldn’t have to feel caught in the middle? like you do with your job?

Luna: Give the man a prize.

RJ: I’m sorry.

Poppy: Oh, Li.

Li: No.

Poppy: Is that why you’ve always been so mad at me? Because I carried a child and you couldn’t?

Li: Save your pity. I can’t use it.

Poppy: Now, why would I pity you? You have Finn. He couldn’t be more wonderful.

Li: And I love and cherish him completely. But it’s not the same as it is with you and Luna. You carried her in your womb for nine months. Your own flesh. Your own blood. Finn shares that with Sheila. I share it with no one.

Poppy: Li, I didn’t realize. I thought you made a choice not to have any more kids after adopting Finn. And that being a doctor was a priority.

Li: So many accomplishments in my life. My– my education, my career, the marriage I thought I had. Except for one thing. I can’t bring a child into this world. Something you did so effortlessly.

Poppy: Li, I didn’t know.

Li: I told you, I don’t want your pity. What’s been said here changes nothing. I still refuse to let your daughter interfere in my son’s life.

Finn: I have been thinking about you. All day. I couldn’t wait to take you in my arms. To hold your body close to mine. I missed you like crazy.

Steffy: I missed you too.

Finn: We have so much time to make up for. Couldn’t wait another minute to start. I’m gonna take you into our bedroom and make love to you over and over and over again. And hold you tight and never let go.

Steffy: Well, I’m not going anywhere.

Finn: I’m so madly in love with you. Never question that.

Steffy: I won’t. And I love you so much. And I hated being away from you.

Finn: Well, that’s why I came home. I couldn’t stand it. Couldn’t stand being away another minute. I just had to see you in our home. Look into those beautiful eyes and kiss your Lips. You’re the best part of my life. I love you more than anything. And nothing and no one will ever keep us apart again.

Liam: Hiya, Steffy. You know, I never stopped loving you, right? And you’ll come back to me. You will. You will. And when you do… I am never letting you go again.

Steffy: Mom, thank you again for all the support you gave me throughout all of this.

Taylor: Well, you are welcome again. You know I’m here for you, always and forever.

Steffy: I do know that. But does take a special kind of person that’s willing to just jet off to Europe with their daughter.

Taylor: Yeah. Jetting off to Europe. I think there are worse sacrifices one could make.

[ Steffy chuckles ]

Taylor: But you know, I would do it again in a heartbeat if, you know, in case–

Steffy: In case what?

Taylor: You know, I– I talked to your dad and, you know, he’s really happy to have you back, of course. But he’s worried. He’s worried about you and the kids. And how safe can– can LA be with Sheila Carter running around?

[ Steffy sighs ]

Liam: In the face? Steffy, she– she punched Sheila in the face?

Ridge: Yeah.

Liam: That is, uh… wow. Damn, girl. I mean, listen, I– I– I understand the sentiment, obviously, but it’s a little risky, don’t we think? I mean the– yes, the punch, obviously, but just going there, just confronting her is risky.

Ridge: If I had known that she was going to the lion’s den, I would’ve stopped her.

Liam: Yes, of course, you would’ve because Sheila is a lunatic. And Steffy doesn’t need more of that in her life. This whole situation, it’s just– you know what I resent? I resent the fact that Sheila is now permanently in Steffy’s life because of Finn.

Finn: Hey, Mom.

Li: Hi. Well, with Steffy and the kids back home, I thought maybe you’d take some time off to celebrate.

Finn: Oh, we’ve been celebrating plenty. Believe me. Never wanna be away from my family for that long ever again.

Li: No reason why you should be. As long as you keep your resolve. I mean it, Finn. Don’t give an inch when it comes to Sheila. Especially now that Liam Spencer has been circling around, waiting for you to slip up. And if you give any kind of opening to Sheila, you’ll lose Steffy. This time, for good.

Finn: I’m being careful, Mom. I’m not losing Steffy because of Sheila. But, changing the subject, have you seen Luna again?

Li: Not much of a subject change.

Finn: Well, I’m just trying to understand why you’re taking such a hard line with her. Yeah. Aunt Poppy did you wrong. Okay, I get that. But why are you taking it out on her daughter?

Poppy: Some things never change. Stuff thrown all over the floor. Am I walking into your place of work or your bedroom?

Luna: Mom, wait, what– what are you doing here?

Poppy: I came to check on my daughter. I’ve been so worried about you, Luna.

Liam: I don’t understand why Steffy would want to be anywhere near that psycho.

Ridge: I do. She wants to set some ground rules and it sounds like she did. Look, I know this is dangerous, but I’m just happy that Steffy and the kids are back.

Liam: That, yeah. I mean… same. [ Scoffs ] Yeah. It’s funny, even when Steffy’s gone for just like a short time, it’s like, uh… it’s like everything feels off. It’s just not– just not as good. The world isn’t as good. Makes me realize how much I, um… need her in my life.

Steffy: Yeah, I know Ead’s worried, but–

Taylor: Mm-hmm. I am, too.

Steffy: I know that. You basically asked, like, a hundred times if it was wise to leave Europe.

Taylor: Oh, come on! A hundred times? It was like 97 times, max.

Steffy: Yeah. Pretty much.

[ Taylor chuckles ]

Taylor: I bet Finn was so happy to see you.

Steffy: Yeah, it was a great feeling. You know, just seeing the look on his face. I missed him so much.

Taylor: I know you did. Let’s talk about the elephant in the room here. Okay? You took the kids and left Finn twice. And I’m– I’m sure Liam is expressing his feelings to you, so… real talk here. Where does it stand with your marriage right now?

Finn: I– is there more going on here? Because it doesn’t seem fair to punish Luna for something her mother did years ago.

Li: I’m not punishing her.

Finn: You told her to leave her internship.

[ Li sighs ]

Li: Because it’s a problem that she’s here, at your wife’s company, mingling with your in-laws. No, no, no. I don’t want you to go through what I did.

Finn: Luna isn’t her mother. Okay? This doesn’t make any sense.

Li: Trust I am protecting you, Finn. The life that you created here in– in Los Angeles with Steffy.

Finn: Yeah. And what a fantastic life it is. If my cousin has the opportunity to be a part of it, why would we not–

Li: Because, it’s– there’s something off about this. I mean, what? Suddenly she’s working at Forrester Creations? And I’m supposed to think it’s a coincidence? My sister’s played me for a fool once, but never again.

Luna: Look, Mom, I know it made you nervous when I started interning here, but I–

Poppy: Rightfully so, turns out. My sister’s been texting me, demanding you quit. She thinks this is her turf. Her son is married to a Forrester. She doesn’t want us to mess things up for her or Finn.

Luna: No, I’m having the best time. And me being at Forrester isn’t hurting anyone. Especially not Aunt Li. Please, Mom, I– I know that you’re just trying to look out for me, but you don’t have to worry. Everything’s gonna be fine.

Poppy: We’re talking about your Aunt Li here. Everything may not be fine at all.

Ridge: You do realize you’re not the only person who misses Steffy when she’s not here, right?

Liam: I know. I mean, you–

Ridge: I’m not talking about me.

Liam: Okay. All right. I hear you. And… yeah, there’s a part of me, a small part of me, that feels for Finn ’cause he didn’t, you know, he didn’t choose any of this. He didn’t pick Sheila to bring him into this world, but you know what? Tough, because she did. And that’s the situation we’re dealing with right now. And it just so happens that she’s obsessed with having this relationship with her son. And guess who she perceives as standing in the way of that? Your daughter. Right?

Ridge: So what’s the answer? What do we do?

Liam: I– I know the answer. It’s just… you’re not gonna like it. We have to convince Steffy to leave Finn.

Taylor: So you and the kids were away for a while and that gave Finn a lot of time to think. So, you know, how are– how are you two doing?

Steffy: Without getting into too much detail, it was a very… romantic homecoming.

Taylor: Okay.

Steffy: There’s no doubt Finn’s commitment to our marriage. None.

Taylor: Good. Good. I’m glad to hear that. You know, I think the world of him, right?

Steffy: Yeah.

Taylor: Despite his birth mother. I do have– I have– I have another question.

Steffy: Okay.

Taylor: Okay. So you know that Sheila may never pay for her crimes, which means, you know, she’s always gonna have this obsession for Finn and wanting him in her life. So… I don’t know, how do you feel about everything now, knowing that being with Finn means having the threat of Sheila looming over you and the kids?

Liam: Okay. He– here’s an undeniable fact. As long as Steffy’s with Finn, she’s in danger. And so are the kids.

Ridge: Okay. Well, I think maybe that’s why Steffy went over to see Sheila and tell her what she wants.

Liam: Yeah, but Sheila’s not gonna listen, right? Sheila’s not gonna just do what Steffy asks. She’s gonna continue worming her way into Finn’s life. And the more Steffy resists that, the more Steffy becomes the enemy. And the more she becomes the enemy, the more her life becomes at risk. Right? There’s– there’s one way out, Ridge. There’s one way out for Steffy. And that’s to leave Finn for good.

Ridge: Let me ask you a question. Do you think that you or anybody could tell Steffy what to do, who to love, what to do with her family?

Liam: No. No. But you come the closest and you have every right to an opinion on this.

Ridge: It’s always been my opinion that Steffy’s gonna make her own decision.

Liam: Yes, she will. And I really hope she makes the decision to leave Finn. I really hope she makes the decision… that it doesn’t have to be this way. And frankly, I hope she makes the decision to come back to me, while she’s at it.

Steffy: I understand the threat of Sheila better than anyone. I can still see it. Barrel of the gun pointing down at me. Sound of it firing. Look, I don’t– I don’t forgive her. And I’ll never forget what that monster put me through. But I can’t just live in fear. I can’t give her that power. So… to answer your question, if I stay with Finn, I– I have to know that Sheila is out there always lurking in the shadows, but she’ll never be allowed back in. Okay? So that I can– I can definitely live with.

Taylor: You know, I was– I was so angry with Finn when it looked like he was welcoming Sheila back into his life. I was– it scared me, Steffy. For– for you– for the kids. Look, I– I– I know that you know what you could be up against with all of that. But honey, you know… I believe in the love that you and Finn have for each other. I really do. And he– he’s proven that he’s devoted to you and only you. God, why does Sheila have to be his birth mother?

Poppy: You know I’m proud of you, right? Despite my concerns.

Luna: Yeah, I know. It’s obvious how much you care. I don’t know. I’m just following my dreams, Mom.

Poppy: Honey, I don’t wanna take away your dreams. But the way your Aunt Li is–

Luna: No, no. I am not cowering to Aunt Li again. Okay? I’m staying here. And stop letting your big sister boss you around. You just have to, like, stand up for yourself.

[ Poppy chuckles ]

Poppy: You make it sound so easy.

Luna: No, it can be. Okay. I have to get these down to the cutting room floor, but how long are you planning on being in town?

Poppy: I’m not sure yet. But I’ll definitely see you again soon. Okay? Now go, do your thing. I don’t want you to get in trouble for fraternizing with the unfashionable.

Luna: Oh, right. Okay. Mom, you’re literally the queen of style. Thank you for coming.

Poppy: I love you, baby. I just want my beautiful daughter to be happy.

Luna: Bye, Mom.

[ Phone chimes ]

Li: What are you doing here, Penelope?

[ Birds chirping ]

[ Knock on the door ]

Steffy: Who is it?

Liam: Hey, it’s me.

[ Steffy sighs ]

Liam: Well, shucks. Totally knew it. Seeing you was the best part of my day.

Li: What are you doing here, Penelope?

Poppy: For the zillionth time, please stop calling me that. I– why is it so hard for you–

Li: You’re Penelope. The name our mother and father gave you. Not “Poppy.” I asked you a question. What are you doing here at Forrester Creations?

Poppy: I came to see Luna. I am so proud of her, li, and all she’s accomp–

Li: You know how I feel about her working here. My son’s wife is Co-CEO of the company. Last thing I need is you and your daughter messing things up for Finn.

Poppy: I am just here visiting, so what could I possibly do? And Luna would never mess anything up for Finn. She’s doing a great job. She got this internship all on her own. Through her hard work and dedication. Everything that you used to nag at me about. You should be proud of your niece.

Li: Proud? That Luna somehow winded up here in the same fashion house owned and operated by my daughter-in-law’s family?

Poppy: A happy coincidence.

Li: I tried to be good to you. I got you the job at the hospital gift shop. How did you repay me?

Poppy: Li, you know that had nothing to do–

Li: I suffered because of it. Your tacky affair with the chief surgeon, a married man. I paid for it!

Poppy: How many different ways do I have to apologize before–

Li: You and your daughter will not interfere my life any longer. More importantly, Finn’s life. I want Luna out of here today. Do you hear me, Penelope? Today!

Liam: May I?

Steffy: Of course. Come in.

Liam: I, uh, I got Kelly, uh, packed up pretty quickly this morning, I didn’t realize until after I dropped her off that she left this behind.

Steffy: Oh, yes. Her new favorite.

Liam: Yeah. So she tells me. Didn’t want her to endure the anguish of sleeping without it tonight.

Steffy: Well, I’m glad she spent the night with you. She missed you like crazy. And I– I know that you called every day to check in, but–

Liam: Yeah, no. But seeing her in person is just better. It’s way better. Uh, listen, she’s not the only one I wanted to check up on. I was concerned about you too. Still am.

Steffy: No need to be.

Liam: Well… Sheila’s on the loose with Deacon, pretending to be a normal, well-adjusted human being when we both know she’s not. She’s a psychopath and an obsessive. And the current object of her obsession happens to be her son. And guess who she thinks is coming between them?

Steffy: Liam, I appreciate your concern. But you don’t have to worry. In fact, I, uh… I paid Sheila a visit. Put her in her place.

Liam: Yeah, no. I– yeah, I heard.

Steffy: You did?

Liam: Your dad told me. Steffy… you’re the most badass chick I know. But it– I wouldn’t go anywhere near Sheila. Much less confront her. I mean, all– this is all– none of this is– is right. I mean, especially not you and the kids living with Finn. I mean, I get that he’s your husband, but he also happens to be a magnet for the most– the most evil, vile person that we know. And… you’re not safe with him. You’re never gonna be. You left him once, you know. You could do it again. We were pretty good together. We had fun. I could… keep you safe, healthy, happy. Just think about… coming back to safety, to sanity, to me.

Recap written by Suzanne

Taylor and Steffy have a chat about Finn and Sheila. Steffy assures her mom that she and Finn are in a great place, and she doesn’t intend to let Sheila hurt their family.

Liam is shocked when Ridge tells him that Steffy punched Sheila in the face. He wants Ridge to help him convince Steffy to leave Finn and come back to him, but Ridge tells him that Steffy wouldn’t listen to them. Later, Liam drops by Steffy’s place on the pretext that Kelly left behind her favorite toy. He asks her to leave Finn and come back to him.

Li catches up with Finn. He wonders why she really hates Poppy, and why she’s taking it out on Luna, but she doesn’t really give him much of an answer.

Poppy arrives in town and visits Luna at Forrester. Luna’s happy to see her mom but tells her that she’s not going to be intimidated by Aunt Li. Li finds Poppy there, after Luna leaves, and freaks out. Li yells at Poppy, whom she calls Penelope (even though she doesn’t like it).

Hope: You heard your brother, Steffy. A lot has changed since you left town.

Steffy: Your attitude for one. What are you thinking hooking up with my brother in this office?

Hope: Steffy, like that’s never happened in here before? Come on. We’re just– we’re having a good time.

Steffy: Oh, my god. I already have to deal with Sheila, now I gotta deal with this. Okay. Well, I’m not running away from Sheila anymore. I won’t let that monster take me away from my family. Just like I won’t let you undermine my brother.

Taylor: Thomas has come too far to get tangled up with Hope like this.

Brooke: Just never should have started. When Hope brought Thomas back on her line, I knew it would lead to problems.

Taylor: Okay. T– t– [ Gasps ] Hi.

Thomas: Hey, Mom.

Taylor: I sure did miss you.

Thomas: I missed you too.

Taylor: I’m so sorry you had to hear that.

Thomas: That’s okay. No, I understand. And Brooke is a parent. She’s just looking after her daughter. But I don’t have to, uh, justify my feelings ’cause very much enjoying, savoring every single moment.

Brooke: With my daughter.

Thomas: Yeah.

Taylor: God, I wish I could support this thing you have with Hope, but I just– I just can’t. It’s not reciprocal, honey. Being with Hope is a mistake.

Deacon: Hey. What…

Sheila: I thought it needed a woman’s touch.

Deacon: What happened to my camping ladder? I’m kidding. I’m kidding. This looks fantastic. You did all this? Wow.

Sheila: Yeah. So, um, do you approve?

Deacon: Well, little partial to the nurses get up, but not a speck of bolognese on it.

Sheila: No, Li’s just lucky I was on my best behavior.

Deacon: And I want you to know that it’s not lost on me that you showed restraint. I mean, the woman put your face in a bowl of pasta and then just walked off.

Sheila: Well, I didn’t want to upset my handsome, incredibly, sexy boss. That I just happen to be secretly engaged to.

Taylor: Okay, just promise me that you will be smart about this, okay?

Thomas: I appreciate your concern, okay? But it’s not necessary. Look, I get it. Everybody has their own opinions about the situation and everyone wants to voice that. And that includes Steffy, actually. ‘Cause apparently, she gets home and just has to go immediately to Hope and, uh, give her a piece of her mind.

Hope: You won’t let me undermine Thomas. Believe me, that’s the last thing I would ever do to your brother. And I’m pretty sure that he would agree.

Steffy: You really have changed.

Hope: Because I’m living my life for myself now. Prioritizing my own wants and needs, not just doing what everyone expects me to do. I’m in control now. And sure, yes, I– I was in love and we both made mistakes, and that crashed and burned, but now I’m with Thomas. And he’s there for me. Is this for me?

Brooke: So, Steffy gets back from Europe and the first thing she does is march over to my daughter’s office and give her grief?

Taylor: Yeah and that’s my girl. She’s protecting her brother.

Brooke: She should be protecting her children. That’s why she went away in the first place.

Taylor: And right now, we’re talking about Hope and Thomas.

Ridge: Can we please just take a step back and let these guys deal with their own relationship? They’re grown-ups. There’s bigger things to worry about. Sheila’s on the loose and we can’t ignore that.

Taylor: And now, Deacon is involved with her.

Brooke: I can’t believe that he actually let himself be manipulated by her. How could he do that? What that would do to the family, to his daughter, and the danger it presents. And now she is working at Il Giardino. She’s living with Deacon.

Taylor: I’m sorry, Sheila Carter has a job?

Ridge: Okay. The important thing is we’ve gotta keep her away from everybody. Yes? Can we do that?

Thomas: Absolutely, we will.

Taylor: Yes, yes, yes. We will all be there for Steffy. And, um, we will catch up soon. And I can’t wait to see Douglas.

Ridge: What are you doing? You’re leaving?

Thomas: Yeah?

Taylor: Um, I have something I need to do.

Deacon: So, you haven’t told anyone about our engagement, have you?

Sheila: Uh-uh.

Deacon: No?

Sheila: It’s our secret.

Deacon: Not forever. It’s just that my relationship with Hope is hanging on by a thread. If she finds out that I asked you to marry me, that could be the thing that cuts it forever.

Steffy: You are using my brother.

Hope: We’re having fun.

Steffy: Fun? Like a game?

Hope: I’m not toying with your brother if that is what you are implying. He’s perfectly aware of what our situation is. We are on the same page. I mean, so much so that sometimes I feel like Thomas can read my mind. I felt that way ever since he first started working for me.

Steffy: He works with you, Hope.

Hope: On my line, under my direction, and he’s my lead designer and he’s there for me.

Steffy: Gives you whatever you want. Whatever you need. You’re abusing his feelings, Hope.

Hope: Okay. And you are just gonna twist this into whatever narrative that you want, right? It’s called transparency, Steffy. Thomas and I, we don’t hide things from each other. He knows all of me.

Steffy: Oh, my god. Thomas is falling for you. Can’t you see that? And you’re treating him like some kinda sex toy. He’s caught up in you and you’re just reveling in it.

Hope: Caught up in me? Like the same way my husband was caught up in you?

Steffy: There it is. Be straight with me. This little fling with Thomas is payback?

Hope: Payback?

Steffy: Against me because of Liam.

Hope: Oh, I hate to break it to you, Steffy, but you are not the center of the universe. This is not about you. Thomas and I, we share something special, something raw, something passionate. We light a fire in each other and it is not hurting anyone. So, now that you’ve said your piece, I don’t want to hear another word from you about this. I don’t need your judgment, Steffy. And your narrative is not mine ’cause I’m no longer that victim hanging in a gondola, watching you steal my life away from me. I’m in control of my life now and I’m figuring out who I am, and your brother is helping me. And I like it. Actually, I… I like it a lot.

Steffy: You may like what you have with Thomas, but I don’t believe that you are really over Liam or your marriage.

Hope: Well, I never said that. Watching my marriage fall to pieces has been excruciating. But after all the chances that I gave Liam, he couldn’t give me an ounce of forgiveness in return. And he didn’t think our relationship was worth saving. And if he feels that way, then well, I’m done begging. I’m sure everyone else thinks that I had something so perfect, but there is no such thing as perfect. And that has been quite the lesson to learn.

Steffy: Well, that hasn’t taught you anything if you can’t see what you’re doing to my brother.

Hope: Your brother keeps me present. And right now, we are just living in the moment.

Steffy: Are you really becoming your mother?

Hope: You know, I used to be terrified of that. Not so much anymore.

Brooke: I’m sorry. You have enough going on. You shouldn’t have to play referee for your family.

Ridge: No, that’s not it. I understand you’re concerned about Hope and Thomas. I– I get it.

Brooke: I know. We have bigger concerns. Sheila, Eric.

Ridge: My dad is dying. Every moment is precious. I– I can’t even say anything. I– I gotta pretend we have all the time in the world. Can’t say anything to Thomas. Can’t say anything to Steffy. You have no idea.

Brooke: I haven’t told Hope. I haven’t told Bridget or Rick. And they all need to know.

Ridge: But they don’t need to know. This is– no, they don’t. We are gonna– we are gonna do what my dad wants. Respect him. Not gonna say anything. No one’s gonna sit here and we’ll just wait. See how long he can come to the office.

Brooke: Eric wants to do this on his own, but you don’t have to. I’m here.

Ridge: I know. I love you for that.

Sheila: Are you getting cold feet about us?

Deacon: Not a chance.

Sheila: ‘Cause the word’s out. I mean, this little tirade that Steffy threw it– it’s just the beginning. It’s gonna get a lot worse, especially for you.

Deacon: I’m not the one getting cold-cocked and dunked in pasta sauce. You gotta keep that left up.

Sheila: Don’t do that. Don’t joke. I’m– I’m being serious. You could lose your relationship with Hope. She could cut you out of her life because of me, Deacon.

Deacon: Hope is probably one of the most forgiving people I’ve ever met. And she gave me a second chance. I gotta believe she’s gonna do it again.

Sheila: Well, you just keep that faith, all right?

[ Knock on the door ]

Sheila: Oh, God. That’s probably Hollis. I’m late for my shift.

Deacon: Uh, I think your boss might have a thing or two to say about that. Hollis, you know your timing absolu–

Taylor: Really? Really? I cannot even believe this. I– Deacon, you and Sheila? What is wrong with you? Have you lost your mind?

Hope: Look, I am glad that you and the kids are home, but if you are done grilling me now, I really have some work that I should do.

Steffy: Well, since you brought up the kids and me being home, there’s something else I can’t fathom. Your father and Sheila. What is Deacon thinking?

Hope: Finally, something we can agree on.

Steffy: Have you talked to him?

Hope: Not sure what good it did. He could see how upset I was. He knows that I will never accept it. And yet, he still defended Sheila.

Steffy: How could he be in a relationship with that animal? I mean, he says he loves her.

Hope: I don’t understand it. And it has me really, really worried.

Steffy: Well, if she tries to harm my family again, she’s gonna pay.

Hope: Well, don’t worry. You know, because my dad thinks that he can protect us all from Sheila.

Steffy: Sheila keeps saying that she wants to prove herself. And I’ve heard it ad nauseam. She just wants to be loved. And clearly, she thinks she can get it from your father. But I will always see Sheila as a murderous psychopath who is obsessed with my family.

Sheila: Taylor, welcome home.

Deacon: Uh, Hope told me that you went away for a while.

Taylor: Oh, yeah? Did she tell you why I went away? I’ll fill you in. Steffy had to take the kids away from their home, from the people that love them because of you.

Sheila: Well, I wish she hadn’t done that.

Taylor: Oh, do you? Well, I wish you would’ve been the one to leave L.A. and never come back.

Sheila: Taylor, you, Steffy, Finn, none of you need to be threatened by me. Okay. You know my history. I know you’re a psychiatrist–

Taylor: Okay, you are not making a very strong case for yourself here.

Sheila: I’m– I’m about to. All right? My heart has been so empty. And you– you know how I was always looking for security and acceptance, looking for that one thing that the people really need in their life. Love. And I– I finally found it.

Taylor: You found it with Deacon.

Sheila: Yes. I– I mean, we’ve both made mistakes and we’re not perfect, but you know what? Maybe we’re really good for each other.

Deacon: You know, it’s like I keep telling everyone. Taylor, I– I fundamentally believe that people can change. Look at me. I’ve changed. You help your clients do it every single day.

[ Taylor laughing ]

Taylor: About that–

Deacon: Sheila is not gonna be a threat to you or your family.

Taylor: Mm-hmm.

Deacon: She’s– she’s a different person when she’s with me.

Sheila: You know, it wasn’t that long ago that we had a– a nice relationship and you even invited me over for Christmas Eve. I– you saved me, Taylor. I– I know that we had a bond.

Taylor: Oh, yeah. And then you pulled a gun on my daughter and you shot her and left her for dead. And Finn too. It kinda breaks a bond, Sheila. Be careful, Deacon. I believed in her, too. You know, Steffy came home because she refuses to have you dictate her life anymore and I’m so proud of her for that, but I don’t want her to regret that decision. Stay away from my family, from Steffy, Finn, my grandkids. Don’t go near them again. I know who you are at your core. I see you. You are unhealed at the most fundamental levels of human condition and you refuse to see it. You refuse to get help. And that doesn’t merit redemption. Only justice. And I believe that day will come. A day of– of reckoning, if you will. And it will come and you will pay.

Ridge: Huh.

Brooke: I hate that you have to go through this. So much concern for your daughter, your father.

Ridge: It’s not– we’re supposed to lose our parents, right? I mean, that’s– that’s how it is. I mean, my mom has been gone for years.

[ Brooke laughing ]

Brooke: Stephanie will never be gone.

Ridge: Yeah, I know.

[ Brooke laughing ]

Ridge: But she is gone. Your mom’s gone. And it’s part of life. It’s– it’s what it’s supposed to be. We try to prepare ourselves and accept it, but with my dad, he’s– he’s everything to me. He’s made me who I am. And I’m just… not ready.

Brooke: I know. I’m sorry. But just know that I am here for you and you can lean on me. You can find strength in me. I’ll be there for you. Really. I can help you through this– this time with your father. And just, we’ll do it, you know. We’ll do it the way we always have. With each other.

Ridge: Oh, my little girl is home. I missed you so much.

Steffy: I missed you so much.

Ridge: Being away was all right?

Steffy: I mean, I– I had to go, I had to take the kids away.

Ridge: I know. Because of Sheila, yes?

Steffy: Yeah. But I am not gonna let that monster separate me from my family ever again. Feels good being back home with the kids and Finn. Okay, enough about me. How are you? I heard about the, uh, fashion challenge.

Ridge: Yeah, that was a– that was a thing.

Steffy: Granddad and RJ beat you. They actually won? Oh, you’re really bummed about it, aren’t you?

Taylor: Okay, I’ll see if he’s in here. Thank you. Hey, Brooke.

Hope: “The collection was a tour de force. Eric Forrester has hit the prime of his career and shows no signs of slowing down.”

Thomas: Yeah, “the– the showing was a delicious feast for the eyes. The iconic Ridge Forrester created a dazzling display of couture perfection.”

Hope: They both are fantastic, but Eric just happened to come out on top.

Thomas: I know, it’s– it’s crazy though. I really thought that my dad would win. Not that I’m not proud of my granddad, just– it’s weird.

Hope: Well, I’m happy for Eric, and I’m really, really glad that he got a chance to collaborate with RJ.

Thomas: Yeah. Lucky kid. Um, well, the good news is now we can focus on what’s really, really important, which is… you. You with the new dress, that new haircut and the new star of Forrester Creations.

Brooke: Ridge told me you were back with Steffy and the kids. How was Europe?

Taylor: You know what? It was– it was good for Steffy to– to get away and clear her head with all this Sheila chaos. I’m really glad that she brought the kids home, you know. They– they missed their dads, their friends.

Brooke: Yeah, I could imagine. Well, if you’re looking for Ridge, he is with Steffy.

Taylor: I’m not. I’m looking for my son. Let me guess, he is with your daughter.

Thomas: Look, I know that my, uh, my grandfather has always been at the forefront of Forrester Creations. I mean, him and my grandmother, they– they created all of this. It’s because of them, but right now, you– you should be front and center for the whole company.

Hope: I think there’s room for all of us. We all bring something special and unique to the table.

Thomas: Sure, but you– you are extraordinary and intoxicating. And it always has an effect on me.

Steffy: How did this even come about?

Ridge: That was your granddad’s idea.

Steffy: I love it. Granddad is still spunky as ever. Oh, gosh, I can’t believe I missed you two going head to head.

Ridge: It is a moment that we’ll never forget.

Steffy: And RJ, on his first try with Granddad, wins. Ooh. You know, they’re never gonna let you live it down.

Ridge: There it is.

Ridge: I won. Beat my dad.

Eric: Ridge, for god’s sake, can’t you just tell me who won? Uh, you know, I can take it. I’ve been doing this sort of thing since before you were born.

Ridge: I don’t mean to upset you, dad.

Eric: If you think this is letting me down easy, you’re wrong, you know. Did you beat me today or not?

Ridge: Did I beat you? No, I did not. You won because you’re the master.

[ Eric laughing ]

Donna: Oh, my god.

Ridge: Congratulations.

Eric: Thank you.

Steffy: I’m not trying to be mean or anything, but I’m actually kind of surprised that RJ and Granddad won.

Ridge: Well, there’s a… lot of surprises we gotta talk about, and I’ll fill you in, but right now, I wanna focus on you and the kids. So happy you’re home, but did– what about Sheila?

Taylor: Yeah. So, rumor has it that my son and your daughter– it’s never not gonna be weird. Um, are spending more and more time together.

Brooke: Yes. I am trying to stay out of it.

[ Taylor chuckling ]

Taylor: Oh, oh, really? Wow, that is– that’s a first.

Brooke: Well, this is a very trying time. It’s very emotional. Hope and Liam’s family is breaking up.

Taylor: Ah. Well, that is not Thomas’s fault.

Brooke:  Did I say it was?

[ Taylor chuckling ]

Taylor: Probably at some point, you did. I mean, you blame Thomas for everything. Why stop now?

Brooke: Oh, God. Look, I’m not thrilled about this situation. I don’t know what happened, I don’t know what got into my daughter. Uh, of all the men.

Taylor: There it is right there. See, you just can’t help yourself. Brooke, Thomas isn’t responsible for these circumstances. Your daughter is. Because she threw herself at him.

[ Brooke chuckling ]

Brooke: Taylor, you know that’s not the case.

[ Taylor chuckling ]

Taylor: It is 100% the case. Hope kissed Thomas in Rome. That is why her marriage is over. Thomas didn’t pursue her. He was– he was keeping things strictly professional. Just doing his work while simultaneously working on some very deep emotional challenges.

Brooke: You’re talking about the fact that he was completely obsessed with my daughter.

Hope: Wow. The results don’t lie. Eric is the indisputable champion.

Thomas: I know. He and RJ, they– they won fair and square. I’m just a little floored by it all, I guess.

Hope: Well, it really could have gone either way. I mean, the crowd went crazy for both of them.

Thomas: Mm. Yeah. Well, Granddad definitely proved that, uh, classic is classic and he is still the king of couture.

Hope: Hm.

Thomas: But you, you are my queen of everything. Look at you. You’re so beautiful. Just can’t stop thinking about you. Can’t stop wanting you.

Steffy: What about Sheila?

Ridge: Do you think it’s okay being back here with Sheila on the loose?

Steffy: She was released from prison. There’s not much we can do about that.

Ridge: There’s something you can do. You can stay away until we figure this out.

Steffy: No, Dad, this is my home. I’m not gonna do that. Kelly is out with Liam and Li has Hayes. Everyone’s safe, everyone’s fine, okay?

Ridge: I’d like to keep it that way.

Steffy: Me too. That’s why I paid Sheila a visit yesterday.

Ridge: You did what?

Steffy: I told her to get the hell out of here. And I don’t care where she goes. She can go to Genoa City or anywhere else in the world, ’cause I’m not backing down. And I refuse to live in fear.

Ridge: And what did she say?

Steffy: Before or after I punched her in the face?

Ridge: You punched her in the face?

Steffy: I did. And it felt so good.

Ridge: I’m sure it did. But– but what if she retaliates?

Steffy: Then I keep fighting. She can’t dictate my life, affect my marriage, and I need to keep living. In fact, I’m gonna head to the office, okay?

Ridge: Yeah, you always were the tough one, I keep forgetting that. But this one’s got a screw loose, so be careful with Sheila. Promise me.

Steffy: Yeah, I promise.

Ridge: Okay.

[ Steffy sighing ]

Thomas: I want you. I want you so bad. I want to live just right now in this moment, I want you right here.

Taylor: Yes, I am back and I’m seeing clients in my office. Yeah, that should work. I will have my assistant send you a text reminder. Make sure you confirm. Okay, bye.

Brooke: Well, I guess your clients are glad that you’re back. So, are you staying a while?

Taylor: Um, you know, I honestly have no idea. Right now, all I can think about is just making sure that Thomas is safe in this situation with hope.

Brooke: Taylor.

Taylor: What? Thomas hasn’t made it this far just to make it this far. He is still healing a lot of old wounds, and Hope is one of them. You know, it’s not– it’s not fair for her to play with his mind just to– just to pump up her ego, you know?

Brooke: Hope wouldn’t do that. She’s not that kind of person.

Taylor: Ah, well, I think she is now. She hasn’t even filed divorce papers, Brooke. That makes Thomas a rebound. Whatever rebellious phase she’s going through right now, it is not fair for her to drag Thomas down with her. I don’t want to see him get hurt.

Brooke: Yeah, well, I don’t think that Thomas is the one that needs protection.

Taylor: Well–

Ridge: Hey. Heard you were here.

Taylor: Hi.

Ridge: Good to have you back.

Taylor: Thank you. Thank you.

Brooke: Yeah.

Taylor: It’s good to be back.

Steffy: Whoa, whoa!

Thomas: Steffy, um…

[ Hope clears throat ]

Steffy: What the hell?

Thomas: Sorry, we should have locked–

Steffy: What the hell are you doing? What the hell are you doing? This is insane.

Ridge: Well, thank you for going all the way to Europe to keep an eye on Steffy and the kids.

Taylor: Of course, of course. I wouldn’t have been anywhere else, you know?

Ridge: I just saw my beautiful daughter and she seems very happy. I’m just a little concerned about Sheila roaming around.

Taylor: I know you are. I know, but, you know, Steffy really wanted to come home. She missed Finn so much. And the kids miss sleeping in their beds.

Ridge: I get that.

Taylor: Yeah. Don’t worry, okay? Steffy has her head on straight. She’s good, I made sure of it. How’s our son?

Brooke: We were just talking about Hope and Thomas’s involvement.

Ridge: Yeah, well, whatever that is, a little unexpected, but–

Taylor: Oh, yeah, yeah.

Ridge: But look, they’re– they’re grown people. They make their own choices.

Taylor: I agree, under normal circumstances. But this is not normal. The stakes are too high for Thomas. He’s had so many breakthroughs, and I would just hate for him to have to go through–

Ridge: I get all that.

Taylor: Okay. Good. Because he has spent so much time trying to be the– the best version of himself, and gosh, Ridge, I am so proud of him.

Ridge: I am. We all are.

Taylor: Okay. And you know, the best part about it? He’s proud of himself, finally.

Ridge: Okay, well, then, maybe we can trust him to make the right decision.

Taylor: Yes, I know. And that is a challenge for me. This whole thing with– with Hope, whatever it is, it just– it just concerns me. She’s sending him mixed signals and she knows he’s really in love with her. And not only is that selfish, it’s also possibly dangerous.

Steffy: Thomas, put your shirt back on, my God.

Thomas: Oh, wow, Steff. You always knew how to make a dramatic entrance.

Steffy: Do you think this is funny, really?

Hope: No, no, and I’m sorry that you had to, uh, find us like this, but we’ve already heard it from everyone else, we really don’t need a lecture.

Steffy: This is a place of business, a shared office. What are you thinking?

Thomas: Steff, it’s been a minute. I know you haven’t been here, but Hope and I have gotten a lot closer.

Steffy: I can see that.

[ Phone chiming ]

Thomas: Oh, it’s Henry downstairs. He’s saying he’s having trouble with the delivery.

Steffy: I’d like a moment alone with Hope.

Thomas: Okay, I’m just not sure that leaving you two alone is a good idea.

Hope: Go. We’ll be fine.

Thomas: Okay. Just don’t kill each other.

[ Hope clearing throat ]

Hope: Well, I’m sure that, uh, that was a bit of a surprise.

Steffy: You and Thomas? No, no, my mom warned me about this.

Hope: Uh, yes. Taylor certainly made her feelings known, so did my mom.

Steffy: Wow, Brooke and I actually agree on something.

Hope: Look, I don’t expect you to understand.

Steffy: Why are you doing this? You know everything Thomas has been through, all of the history. You guys are working together.

Hope: Yes, and we still are, and better than ever, actually.

Steffy: Why are you gonna risk this? This could jeopardize Hope For The Future. What are you thinking?

Hope: Following my heart.

Steffy: So, what are you saying, you’re– you’re in love with Thomas?

Hope: I know that we love what we’re doing right now. And you and Taylor and my mom, you’re not going to stop it.

Recap written by Suzanne

Ridge gives Donna a hard time, briefly, for not telling him about Eric dying. She was following Eric’s wishes.

At home, Finn and Steffy discuss Deacon and Sheila until the kids rush in and throw themselves at their parents, along with their baby-sitter, Bodie. He tells them he’s glad they’re back, and then he leaves. Finn orders dinner, which they all love. Steffy is surprised that Kelly heard from Liam already. Finn assures Steffy that he’s never going to have any contact with Sheila again. They put the kids to bed and then have a romantic evening that ends up in bed.

Bill and Liam meet up at L.A.’s only restaurant, Il Giardino. Liam is upset that Steffy and the kids are back (and in danger from Sheila). Bill knows that Liam loves Steffy and wants her back. They talk about the situation with Sheila, Finn and Steffy.

Ridge, Brooke and Donna are in the doctor’s office. Ridge is impatient to find answers about Eric’s condition. Dr. Colby assures them that they’ve done everything they can do for Eric.

In his office, Eric is on the phone with someone about how he beat Ridge in the fashion challenge. He congratulates RJ for them beating Ridge. RJ tells him with a sad smile that Ridge really loves him. Later, Eric thanks Ridge for finding his stapler.

Katie: Ridge has given Eric an amazing gift, a victory that was meant to be his.

Brooke: Ridge needed to do it. Finding out that Eric is dying, it’s very hard on Ridge. And I– I’m sure he’s going to make sure that these last days for Eric are as beautiful as possible.

R.J.: And you know, telling Granddad that he won the challenge is just the beginning. He’s getting the CEO office ready for him right now.

Brooke: Mm-hm. Yeah. His triumphant return as CEO of Forrester Creations, leading the company that he loves so much.

[Eric coughing]

Donna: Okay. Okay. You know, I, I think we need to call the doctor. Okay? The challenge is over and, and you won, you won, you, you set out to do everything you wanted to do and, and now it’s time to take care of yourself.

Eric: No, no, Donna, no.

Donna: Yes.

Eric: No, I don’t want to think about doctors or hospitals or anything else or what’s to come. I don’t want to do that. I won the fashion challenge. I, I want to enjoy this moment here right now, here with you. I won the fashion challenge. I prevailed over Ridge. I want to savor every moment of it.

Ridge: You found my dad’s old stapler.

Luna: Yeah.

Ridge: I thought it was gone. It was right here in that box with all those memories. You found him.

Katie: It’s so touching. Ridge knew how much winning the challenge would mean to Eric.

R.J.: I’m– I’m gonna hold on to the time that I spent with Granddad for the rest of my life.

Brooke: This is hard for all of us, but nobody’s heart is breaking as much as Ridge’s.

Eric: This was hard. Remember my designs were wonderful. You’re right. But Ridge’s… Ridge’s designs were wonderful too. It wasn’t, it wasn’t a foregone conclusion, but I won. I won it.

Donna: I know, I know you did and you fought so bravely and courageously.

Eric: Yeah. Yeah. Now it’s time for me to take my office back, get my office back and reclaim my position at Forrester Creations.

Sheila: Steffy, I understand why you’re so defensive. But you don’t need to be. I mean, for the first time in my life, I have finally found true love.

Steffy: Oh, please, you’re a sociopath. You’re not capable of love.

Sheila: That’s not true. I, I know that you don’t want to believe that. I’ve got a lot of work to do to prove it.

Steffy: There is nothing you can do to make me buy this. You are pure evil.

Sheila: No. No, I’m in love. I’m, I’m happy. I just, I just want to lead a, a simple normal life.

Steffy: Deacon, are you really falling for this? I thought you were smarter.

Deacon: Steffy, I promise you. Sheila’s not gonna be a threat to you or your children. I’m gonna make sure of it.

Sheila: I, I promise I’m not going to be a threat to you or your, your children. You have nothing to worry about. Just please– just trust me.

Steffy: Trust you? Are you kidding me?

Deacon: Steffy, look, I get why you’re skeptical.

Steffy: Deacon, why are you doing this? Everything you worked for? I can’t imagine what Hope and Brooke are going to think of this.

Deacon: I have worked really hard to restore my relationship with Hope and Brooke.

Finn: Which is why this doesn’t make sense.

Deacon: Okay, I get it. I get that it sounds crazy. I mean, I didn’t really understand it in the beginning myself. I guess ultimately, it’s because I believe that people can change, like I’ve changed.

Steffy: Okay, this fantasy that you’ve created, that Sheila’s changed. It’s a lie. She’s gonna con you, corrupt you and then she’s gonna hurt you because that’s who Sheila is.

Brooke: Ridge is just trying to hold it together and Eric can’t know that Ridge knows he’s dying.

Katie: I, I think we should keep it that way. I, I think that we should let Eric enjoy feeling vital and alive.

R.J.: I agree. He doesn’t want to be seen as weak or– or pitied, and it’s not going to be easy, but I think we should give him this moment.

Brooke: In the meantime, we’ll just support Eric and we’ll love him as much as we possibly can.

Eric: Well, it’s done now. I’m no longer something that’s out of date or something that, uh, can be discarded.

Donna: Oh, honey bear. You never were.

Eric: Damn near.

Donna: No.

Eric: You know, it’s too easy to throw things away, things that– things that are out of date and that don’t actually work anymore. Things that can be forgotten. It’s too easy. It was like my, my old stapler. It didn’t mean anything to Ridge. It didn’t work anymore and he, he just threw it away. It didn’t mean anything to him like me. Well, no more. That’s finished. I am Forrester Creations.

Donna: Yes, you are.

Ridge: These are my dad’s initials. “Love, Stephanie.” See, Stephanie is my, was my mom. She got this for him when they started the business and I thought it was gone forever. I thought I… anyway, you found it. Thank you.

Luna: Yeah, of course. I’m glad I could help.

Ridge: What are you looking for?

Eric: I’m looking for my stapler. My stapler. The stapler that has been here for like 50 years on my desk. My desk. Where is it?

Ridge: I don’t know, probably got thrown out. We got you a new one.

Eric : Thrown out? My stapler? You threw my stapler out.

Ridge: It was old. It didn’t work anymore.

Eric: Like me?

R.J.: Hello? Hey, I’ve been looking for you everywhere.

Luna: Oh, your dad just sent me on a mission to go downstairs to the storage room.

R.J.: The storage room? Why did he send you down there?

Luna: Your grandfather’s old stuff for the office.

R.J.: Ah. Oh, that’s great. He’s putting everything back to the way it was before.

Luna: Hey, um, I know you’re not okay. So I’m not even gonna ask you that question. But if you wanna talk…

R.J.: I did it. I, I told my parents that my granddad’s dying. I, I just couldn’t do it. I just couldn’t keep it a secret anymore.

Luna: You really did the right thing by your grandfather and your parents. And congrats! Eric won the fashion challenge. Thanks to your help.

R.J.: Yeah… he didn’t actually win. My granddad didn’t win the fashion challenge and my dad heard that my granddad was dying. She told him he won because he, he knew how much winning the challenge meant to him.

Luna: Wow. That is about the greatest thing I’ve ever heard anyone do for someone. He obviously loves his dad so much.

R.J.: Without a doubt.

Luna: Today has been an emotional roller coaster.

R.J.: Tell me about it.

Luna: Hey, if nothing else, you should be really proud of the designs you put out with Eric. Seriously, I’ve never seen anything so beautiful.

R.J.: Well… you had a lot to do with them.

Luna: Oh god, what are you talking about? I’m just an intern.

R.J.: No, come on, you were my inspiration.

Luna: I know you’ve been going through a lot. But R.J., this has been, like, the most exciting experience of my life and I’m sorry if that seems disrespectful to your grandfather.

R.J: No, no. Him, he would want us to live in the moment and savor everything that we can. Hey, this has been life changing for me too. Every second of sharing this with you. It’s been amazing.

Katie: This has been such a crazy day. You must be exhausted.

Donna: No, I’m just, I’m just trying to keep it together, really.

Brooke: Well, it’s also been a wonderful day for Eric.

Donna: Amazing. Amazing. I mean, it’s, it’s one that he’s never gonna forget.

Katie: Where is he?

Donna: He is reclaiming his office.

Eric: Okay for me to come into my office now? You, uh, you ready to give it up?

Ridge: Just about. There you go, all done.

Eric: Wow, look at this. You’ve been busy.

Ridge: Well, I wanted to give your office back the way that you left it. I mean, you, you won the challenge fair and square.

Eric: Yeah. Fair and square.

Sheila: We really are all very excited that you’re home, Steffy, and I’m sure that Finn is–

Steffy: Oh, shut up. I fled my home to protect me and my children, but I realized something when I was gone, I don’t run. LA is my town and I was raised to stand up and fight and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do.

Sheila: It’s clear that you don’t want me to be a part of your life and I’m gonna respect that. I, I only hope that, that you’ll change your mind.

Steffy: Change my– so, oh, there it is. You still want to be in Finn’s life. That’s laughable. You know what else is laughable? How you think you can actually stop her? You can’t. I don’t need you defending me. But if you come near me or my family again, you won’t answer to deacon, to Finn or my father, you’ll answer to me.

Steffy: I’m not afraid of you Sheila, not anymore. You mess with me and you’ll pay. I’m a Forrester. Remember? I never back down from a fight. That’s what you get for shooting me and my husband. And if you dare to come near me and my family again, I swear to god, you’re gonna wish you were behind bars. You messed with the wrong woman.

[Eric laughing]

Eric: Some of these go back pretty far, you know.

Ridge: Well, that’s what happens when you’re a living legend.

Eric: Yeah. Thank you. Wow. Look at these memories. It’s been a long run, you know.

Ridge: It’s not over yet.

Eric: You, okay?

Ridge: Yeah, I’m, I’m fine. I just don’t like losing anything. I don’t like losing to anyone. But if I do lose, at least it has to be to the best and you are the best.

Eric: I would have said the same thing.

Ridge: Of course. So enjoy, enjoy your office.

Eric: Yeah.

Ridge: Well done.

Eric: Thanks, Ridge. I appreciate it.

Ridge: I got to thank you. You’ve given me everything. You’ve made me who I am and I will never forget that.

Eric: We don’t forget those things, do we? I don’t think you fully understand what this, what these four walls mean to me. When your mother and I first bought this building and then this desk had been moved in here and set up shop. It was monumental. It really was. We were gonna set the world on fire. We were gonna turn the fashion industry on its head. And we did and, and we, we, we wanted to make our mark.

Ridge: You did that.

Eric: Yeah, we did. I’d come in here and sit behind this desk and dream, dream of everything we wanted to dream of and everything I wanted to create. I was hungry, I was hungry. So this desk isn’t just about my memory. This desk is about dreaming, thinking of what you want to do. It’s about– about the future.

Ridge: And the future is important but, Dad, you can’t have future without the past and all I think about when I walk in here, all I see is a little boy sitting over here watching you.

Eric: I see that.

Ridge: Everything was coming out and you just drawing things and I, I wanted to be a designer before I even knew what that was. You gave it that me and it will always be with me.

Eric: I knew you had it. You had it in you then and you have it in you now. It’s been inside you all this time as it’s been inside me, all my life too. Your legacy will be much more than mine. It will transcend mine alone. It’ll be greater than I was. No question about it.

Ridge: That’s impossible.

Eric: No, it’s not. It’s gonna happen. Just not yet.

Ridge: Not yet. Well, okay. Umm. Enjoy your desk, sit down. You deserve it.

Eric: I think I will. I think I will.

Ridge: Congratulations. I love you so much.

Eric: I know you do, son. I love you too, Ridge. Always remember that.

Ridge: Top drawer of your desk. Luna found it along with everything else. I’m sorry, Dad. I didn’t realize.

Eric: Come on.

Ridge: Congratulations. You won.

Eric: Thank you. And this– this day, this has been amazing. One of the most amazing days of my life. But you didn’t make it easy for me, you didn’T. You’re a giant talent, ridge. You really are. It’s an honor to go head-to-head with you.

Ridge: The honor was mine, dad.

Eric: [ Laughs ] I wanted this collection to be something that would leave an indelible mark on this company. A mark never to be forgotten.

Ridge: Well, that’s exactly what it’s gonna be because you are this company. Always will be.

Steffy: Ooh! That shower was so, so good. I mean, the villa was beautiful and all, but like, the water pressure was a little like…

Finn: Mm, I guess, they just don’t make castles the way they used to.

Steffy: Stop. That’s not what I meant.

Finn: Well, if I would have known that modern plumbing was the way to get you home, I would have just, I don’t know, changed the shower head.

Steffy: You are the reason I came home, just you. So, um, did your mom come here and grab the kids?

Finn: Mm-hmm.

Steffy: Yeah?

Finn: Yeah. She’s sorry she missed you. But, um, she’s thrilled that you’re home, but not as ,uh, thrilled as I am.

Steffy: I never want to be away from you again.

Finn: Good. ‘Cause you’re never gonna be. I’m never gonna let anyone or anything come between us.

Steffy: Anyone? Look, we might as well just get it out of the way. I heard the news. I know about sheila and deacon.

Sheila: I don’t know why they call it happy hour because it is the same sappy guys telling the same stupid jokes, talking about the same bonuses. Hitting on all of these women that are way out of their league and getting shut down. No, it should be called pathetic hour.

Deacon: Don’t hold back, sheila. Let me know what you really think of my clientele. Hey, listen, as long as they buy the same $20 drinks, I’m cool.

Sheila: Oh, daddy. Mommy had a really rough day. I think I need a foot massage.

Deacon: I’m not sure what hr would say about that. I mean, you know, I’m the boss and you’re an employee. Might not be appropriate behavior.

Sheila: Mm. Well, you are the boss downstairs, but upstairs and especially in the bedroom, I think I got you covered in that department.

Deacon: You know, I’m not saying that this doesn’t turn me on, but I gotta tell you, the missing piggy still gives me the willies.

Sheila: Well, it just goes to show how far I’m willing to go to get exactly what I want.

Deacon: No one’s ever going to doubt that you’re 100% committed. But that’s in the past, right? You promised. No more obsessing about finn and steffy.

Finn: Do you know about sheila and deacon?

Steffy: Yeah.

Finn: How? Did your father tell you?

Steffy: No, I um– I got a message from liam.

Eric: I’m sure you understand why I wanted to do this, ridge. It was never about wanting to beat you. You’re a world-class designer. It was an honor to go head-to-head with you. Never doubt that.

Ridge: I– I don’t doubt it. And how can I? I mean, you– you made me. You made me who I am. You’ve given me everything. I’m my father’s son. And even with all that, I couldn’t beat you. Victory is yours.

Eric: You have no idea what this means to me.

Ridge: I think I do.

Luna: Oh, hey, ridge. Is– is everything okay?

Ridge: Yeah, no, yeah, um… yes, can you– can you help me with something?

Luna: Yeah, of course. What is it?

Ridge: When I took over the ceo office, I moved some of my dad’s stuff. Memorabilia and– and, uh, awards and things and it’s all in a box. So, I’m sure it’s in storage, probably labeled, if you could maybe find that.

Luna: Yeah, of course. I’m on it.

Ridge: Okay.

Eric: I remember the first day I came into this room, you know. I was so young. I was full of ideas, dreams. And then, it all started. These– if these walls could talk, they would have so many stories to tell. Of hard work and determination. And, uh, joy and heartbreak. Creativity, beauty. So much beauty came out of this room.

Donna: It’s all because of you. Your drive, your vision, your passion.

Eric: I’m closing the book on everything just the way I wanted to.

Ridge: Oh, sorry. I should’ve knocked. Your office.

Finn: What exactly is this?

Sheila: Um, it’s tea. Earl grey, to be exact.

Deacon: Okay.

Sheila: Would you like sugar? Maybe one lump or two?

Deacon: Okay, you’re terrifying me right now.

Sheila: Why? Why? I– I just want to lead a nice, simple, normal, peaceful life, is– isn’t that what this is?

Deacon: Tea, sugar and lumps?

Sheila: I’ve got lemon if you want lemon.

Deacon: Why do you have to be so all or nothing?

Deacon: I’m just trying to be what you want me to be, deacon. I– I am trying to forget how much I miss and love my son.

Deacon: What I want you to be is yourself. That’s who I fell in love with. All right, I don’t want whatever the hell this is. Sheila, I want to be enough for you.

Sheila: Baby, you are enough.

Deacon: Look, if you gotta go all in, if you gotta double down, then double down on us. Finn’s not an option right now. You cannot be a part of finn and steffy’s life.

Finn: I can’t believe liam told you about sheila and deacon.

Steffy: He left me a voicemail when I was in the mountains.

Finn: Left you a voicemail? I was gonna tell you, steffy. But I spoke to ridge about it. We both agreed that we needed to give it some time because you were unreachable. Look, I– I know, I just can’t believe that liam would do something– but you know what? Of course, he would do something like this.

Steffy: None of that matters. You know why? Because sheila doesn’t matter. I refuse to let that monster separate me from my family, ever again.

Rj: What dad did today, I’m never gonna forget it. I mean, when he told granddad that he won, I could see a physical change in him. He’s been so stressed from all of this, I mean, from his– from his symptoms getting worse, from being unable to design. I mean, it’s– it’s just been painful for him. It’s been painful to watch. And then, just in a moment, I– I could just see all the weight come off of his shoulders in there.

Brooke: Your father loves eric so much. I’m sure he’s going to do everything he possibly can to make sure that… these last days are the best he’s ever had.

[ Door clicks open ]

Katie: Hey, rj. I’m looking for luna. What’s wrong? What’s going on? Is it your granddad?

Rj: Katie knows.

Katie: Wait, you– you told your mother about eric?

Ridge: Well, before you get too comfortable, maybe I could have a minute, take my stuff out of here and spruce the place up a little bit.

Eric: So, you’re kicking me out of my office already?

Ridge: Can you just humor me? I just wanna make this place perfect for you and then, you can come back and never leave.

Deacon: Sheila, no contact with finn. You made a promise.

[ Sheila laughing ] Sheila.

Sheila: Okay. All right. I– I’m just messing with you. I– I hear you, deacon.

Deacon: Why do you got to stress me out like this? What’s the deal? I mean, no one even knows that we’re engaged yet. Imagine how they’re gonna–

Sheila: I know. I know. I’m not gonna mess this up for you.

Deacon: So, you’ll stay away from finn?

Sheila: I would like nothing more than to be a part of my son’s life. But right now… I am focused on this life with you. This life that we are creating together.

Steffy: How could deacon be involved with sheila? I know hope’s father had some issues, but I didn’t realize he was this far gone.

Finn: Uh, they claim to be in love.

Steffy: What? In love?

Finn: Yeah. Yeah, it’s crazy. I’ve seen them together. Deacon invited me over to il giardino, I had no idea sheila was gonna be there and they’re both saying it’s– it’s love.

Steffy: I don’t buy that for a second. Sheila is incapable of having a normal, healthy relationship. She is just using deacon to work her way back into the family. She’s targeting deacon because he’s hope’s father. No, I don’t like this one bit and I’m not gonna just sit by and let this happen. No, I am not.

Finn: Where are you going?

Steffy: I am gonna pay those little lovebirds a visit. They should know that I’m back in town.

Finn: But you don’t want anything to do with sheila.

Steffy: No, I don’t, but I’m not hiding anymore. I’m gonna tell her to her face not to mess with my family again.

Rj: Yes, I told mom about granddad. I couldn’t keep it a secret any longer.

Katie: You did the right thing. You honored your grandfather, but your parents needed to know. Does ridge know?

Brooke: Yeah. He is devastated. We all are.

Katie: It just doesn’t seem real. I mean, donna has been an amazing advocate. She’s– she’s tried to honor eric’s wishes, but honestly, I don’t know how she’s holding it together.

Brooke: I don’t know either. We’re all just trying to do what’s right by eric. Ridge, most of all.

Katie: What does that mean? I mean, is that about the fashion challenge? That winning the challenge was so important to eric.

Brooke: Yes, and ridge knew how desperately eric wanted to win, so he just gave it to him.

Katie: He gave it to him?

Brooke: Ridge actually won the challenge and he told eric that he was the winner.

Eric: We won this thing! We won it. Uh, look at this room. You can still feel the energy here, yeah. Ah, I’m not gonna forget one moment of this. Not one moment, this is my– my final collection.

Donna: And your greatest collection, your greatest victory.

Eric: Yeah.

Donna: Oh, my god. I’m so proud of you. So proud of you.

Eric: Thank you. In just a few more minutes time, I can take back the office. Go up there and take back what’s mine!

[ Eric coughing ]

Donna: Oh, god.

Eric: All right, all right. Okay.

[ Ridge sighs ]

Luna: Hi.

Ridge: Oh, hey, let me help you, is that it? That’s the box?

Luna: Yeah, I think so. I mean, I took a quick look through it and there was like, a bunch of awards and photos.

Ridge: Yeah, no, this is it. Ah, oh, look at this. I remember this day, I– that was my first award show. I went with my dad. He– he had designed this, uh, tiny little tux for me to look just like him. It was sweet. It was down at the, um– uh, it’s not even there anymore. It doesn’t matter, but it was where– it was a good day. There was press, and uh, beautiful models and amazing actors and everyone was around my dad. And he, uh– he was just there, and everybody wanted a piece of him. And I was a kid and I was watching this, and– and he went up on stage, and he– he accepted this award and he was so– he was so gracious, so elegant. And he looked out and he– he found me– doesn’t matter, it was his mome–

[ Voice breaks ] It was his moment and he made it my moment and that’s that story. That’s it.

Luna: Well, your father has accomplished so much in his career, I’m sure that only scratches the surface.

Ridge: Yeah. You’re right.

Luna: Oh, and I also found this old stapler in the bottom of the box. Did you wanna keep that?

Ridge: Uh, what?

Luna: Uh, a stapler.

Ridge: This– this is his stapler. This is– I– this is important. Thank you.

[ Banging on door ]

Steffy: Open up, deacon.

Finn: We know sheila’s in there with you, deacon.

Deacon: All right. You keep your feelings in check, all right? I don’t think they’re coming over to borrow a cup of sugar. You good?

Sheila: Uh, steffy. Welcome home, I’m sure that my son–

Steffy: Save it, sheila. I’m not interested in playing nice. I’m not buying this ridiculous act. Deacon, have you seriously lost your mind? I can’t even imagine what hope thinks about this little arrangement. But that’s not my problem. You are my problem. I’m still disgusted that you’re not rotting away in a prison cell right now, but you know what? I’m not scared anymore. You don’t have the power to keep me away from my family. I’m back and I’m not leaving. This is my home. L.A. Is my town. You want to threaten me? Bring it. Because I’m not going to run away from anyone. Especially not you, sheila.

Deacon: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Come on.

[ Dramatic music ]

Eric: You know the results.

Ridge: I do.

Eric: Well, I don’t want to wait any longer. I don’t have all the time in the world, you know. Who won this fashion challenge? You or me?

Katie: Oh, well, that’s it. Another fabulous forrester event. We did it.

Luna: No, you did it. And it must feel good to finally sit down.

Katie: I like to take in the room after an event. You know, feel the energy that’s left over. And these shoes hurt real bad.

Luna: Aw, but they’re so worth it. I mean, I’ve had shoe envy like all day.

Katie: Why is it the prettiest ones always inflict the most pain? That’s a question for life. I suppose there’s only one more question to answer, and then this showdown is over.

Luna: Yeah. And it’s a big one.

Katie: Who won the challenge? Ridge or eric?

Kelly: Finn!

Finn: Kelly? Kelly, hey. Hayes. Oh, my gosh. Come here. What– what are you guys doing here?

Kelly: We flew on the jet. I went to sleep in italy and woke up in L.A. Like magic.

Finn: This is– this is like magic. Oh, my gosh. Hi, you guys are home? Oh, my gosh. Give me another hug. Hi. Oh, my gosh. Wait, where’s your mother?

Steffy: Surprise.

Luna: I don’t know how anyone could decide which gown to put on. I mean, I would die to wear any of them.

Katie: Well, I’m definitely putting in an order. I didn’t vote. I didn’t want to be the one to tip the scales, but there is a gown that’s going home with me and I’m not taking no for an answer.

Luna: Which one?

Katie: No, I’m gonna keep that to myself for now. I don’t want to play favorites. Besides, everything was so beautiful. I could throw a dart and there’s not a wrong choice.

Luna: Well, I’ll be curious to see if it was one of eric’S. I mean, rj worked so hard on every single design with him. Granted, they were all eric’s vision, but I don’t know. I could see a little bit of rj’s influence in there. I can tell he’s really proud of what they created together.

Katie: Well, he should be. I know that he treasured working with his grandfather, but, oh, this had to be really hard on him.

Luna: I mean, to carry that weight on his shoulders, the knowledge that eric is dying? And he so badly wants to tell his mom and dad about what’s happening with his granddad. I mean, he wants eric to have their support.

Katie: I just want eric to know how much we love him. We’ll be there for him. We wouldn’t pity him. We would just… be there as a family. He shouldn’t be going through this alone.

Luna: Well, I mean, he does have donna and rj.

Katie: They’re not his son. I– I have to tell you, and– and it’s hard to explain. Maybe you’ll know one day, but the relationship between a child and a parent, it’s the most profound relationship you’ll ever have and it makes me bawl. But don’t worry, you’ll, you know, realize that I’m an easy mark. Ridge needs to know. He needs to know. Not just for his sake, but for eric’s too. Eric might not want to admit it right now, but… but love and the support that his son could give him, it might just be the best medicine. I believe that if everyone knew the truth, that eric is dying, things would be so different.

Eric: Why are you so quiet, ridge? You don’t want to tell me who won?

Ridge: I want to beat

my dad on the runway.

That’s his domain.

And I’m sorry, I– I know

that working with your granddad

was amazing and your time

will come, but not right now.

Right now, it’s me.

Rj: We need to talk though.

But–

Ridge: Can’t it wait?

I want to talk dad

and see what he’s gonna say.

He’s gonna be–

Rj: No, no! It can’t wait.

We need to talk now, okay?

There’s no more time for this.

Ridge: Oh, geez. What’s

going on here?

Rj: I’m sorry, dad.

Granddad’s dying.

Eric: Come on, ridge. This is ridiculous. I deserve to know who won this thing. Who won the fashion challenge, you or me?

Ridge: It was close. It was really close.

Eric: Close? What, are you letting me down easy? Is this your way of telling me I lost?

Finn: I missed you and the kids so much. I mean, words can’t describe.

Steffy: I feel the same way. The kids were able to knock out on the plane, but I– I couldn’T. I was so excited to see you and be in your arms again. I couldn’t get here fast enough.

Finn: You’re really home.

Steffy: Yeah.

Finn: Yeah.

Steffy: Oh. I’m home.

Kelly: We have a surprise for you.

Steffy: Yes, we do. Go grab it. It’s in your backpack.

Finn: Nice. What’s this? This is awesome.

Kelly: Hayes and I started it on the plane and we finished it in the car on the way home.

Finn: Look at us.

Kelly: That’s mom’s surfboard.

[ Steffy laughing ]

Finn: Well, hey. Maybe we can all hit the waves later on, huh?

Kelly: Yes!

Finn: Yeah? You like that?

Steffy: Do you have any patients today?

Finn: Not anymore. Nothing’s more important than spending time with you and the kids right now.

Kelly: We missed you so much.

Finn: You have no idea how much I missed you. I mean, video calling you everyday was pretty great, but nothing as good as these hugs I’m getting, huh. I’ll never take this for granted. And the fact that you’re home, I mean, I never wanna spend another minute away from you guys. In fact, I think I might feel a little tickle monster coming on.

[ Finn and kelly laughing ] Right there.

[ Steffy laughing ]

Katie: I still can’t believe that eric is dying. I don’t want to believe it. I mean, I don’t want to think about what life is gonna be like without his presence.

Luna: I can only imagine. I mean, I haven’t been at forrester long, but his impact on the fashion industry. I mean, he’s– he’s legendary and I can see how important he is to everyone around here.

Katie: You have no idea. His guidance is invaluable and it’s so constant and dependable and not just with the company, but personally. You could go to him with any problem, any issue and he had the best advice and he would always make you feel so much better and god, I’m gonna miss that. When ridge finds out what’s going on with his father, he’s going to be devastated. And I know that rj is in an impossible situation, but– more and more, I just think it’s– it’s not fair to ridge to not tell him. He’s losing valuable time with his father that he’s not going to get back.

Luna: Well, rj hates not telling his parents, but he feels a loyalty to his grandfather. He doesn’t want to betray his confidence, but keeping this secret has been terrible for him.

Katie: Well, rj is doing an incredible thing, you know? He helped eric with his last collection and honestly, I watched eric’s face during the showing and he had so much pride watching his gowns out there for all the world to see. He was beaming. Absolutely ecstatic.

Luna: Well, I think he accomplished what he set out to do. He– he produced the best line of his career.

Katie: And now, he just has to finish the job. This is the final chapter. Winning this challenge is so important, especially when eric is courageously facing the end of his life.

Eric: Ridge, for god’s sake, can’t you just tell me who won? I– you know, I can take it.

Oh, my god.

Eric: Yes.

Ridge: Congratulations.

Eric: Thank you. Thank you.

Steffy: Oh, my gosh. You are so big. Look at you helping carry in the luggage.

Hayes: I’m big.

Finn: You most certainly are. And I can’t believe how much you guys have grown in such a short amount of time.

Kelly: I was the tallest girl in my class.

Finn: Wow, really? Did you make any friends at your school in italy?

Kelly: Si, senore!

Finn: Whoa. And you’re speaking italian.

Kelly: Yup! Listen to this:

Cioccolato gelato, per favore! That means “chocolate ice cream, please.”

Finn: That’s amazing. That’s awesome. You’re gonna have to teach me.

Steffy: Yeah, we’ve definitely mastered the art of saying, “I want ice cream” in italian.

Kelly: Cioccolato is hayes and I’s favorite flavor.

Finn: Wow, that’s crazy because it’s my favorite flavor too.

Steffy: So crazy because mine as well.

Finn: Well, that settles it then. Cioccolato gelato for everyone.

Kelly: You’re speaking italian.

Finn: Yeah, see? You’ve already taught me something and now that you’re home, you guys can teach me a lot more. This is just– this is the best surprise. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever had a better one.

Luna: Really was amazing today.

Katie: Well, ridge and eric are world-class designers, so you know it was going to be a spectacle not to be missed.

Luna: Yeah. And the invited audience was really nice too. It kept everything special and intimate.

Katie: Yeah. I don’t think our buyers will soon forget it. I mean, if they weren’t before, they’ll be lifelong customers now.

Luna: Oh, well then, mission accomplished.

Katie: Not quite. I just wish this wasn’t a competition between eric and ridge. It’s gonna put a strain on the relationship no matter who wins. I wish ridge knew the truth about his father. That eric is dying.

Ridge: You shouldn’t be too surprised. The great eric forrester.

Eric: Well, this is amazing. I– I can– I can hardly believe it. Rj, we did it!

Rj: We did it.

Eric: We did it!

Rj: We did.

Eric: Come here. Wow. I– I– I couldn’t have done it without you.

Rj: No, this is– I just helped you, all right? This is you. This is your moment. This is your– your victory.

Brooke: Yes, rj’s right. Your designs were absolutely spectacular. The classic eric forrester elegance and beauty. This is your moment, eric. You deserve it.

Eric: Thank you. So, I won. I really won.

Ridge: You really did. You won the day.

[ Eric laughing ] Inn: Hm… something tells me you might be able to talk her into that. Especially if you ask in italian.

Steffy: My baby loves, daddy and I have some things to discuss, so why don’t you go to your room and get ready, okay?

Kelly: Okay! I missed my room.

Steffy: Good.

Kelly: Come on, hayes. Let’s go.

Finn: And I missed you guys. Hey.

Steffy: Hi. I hope you don’t mind that we surprised you like this.

Finn: Are you kidding me? This is– this is the best day of my life.

Steffy: The best?

Finn: Yeah, yeah. I would put it right up there with the day you became my wife or when I found you in monte carlo or when you gave birth to our son. Yeah, I would.

Steffy: All incredible days.

Finn: Yeah, but any day I get to see your beautiful face is a wonderful one. I’m just– I’M… I’m so thankful you’re home. I mean, this house, it’s just– it’s so empty without you and the kids. Words can’t describe how much I missed you, okay?

Steffy: I’ve missed you so much.

Finn: So, what made you finally decide to come home?

Steffy: I couldn’t– I couldn’t be away from you. And the kids missed you so much, it broke my heart. And I realized something. I don’t– I don’t want to run away from my life anymore. That’s not who I am. I’m a fighter and I won’t let sheila take you or my family away from me, so I’m gonna fight for what’s mine.

Finn: Good. And you know what? I’m glad. And– and look, steffy, I’m– I’m sorry for–

Steffy: No, no, no. No more apologies. I don’t want to hear it. No more shame or guilt. None of that matters, okay? What matters is that we’re– we’re together. And we’re stronger together. I’m back, the kids are here and we are never gonna leave you again.

Finn: I’ve dreamed of those words. This almost doesn’t seem real. I mean, you… you have no idea how much I love you.

Steffy: I do know because I love you that much.

Donna: You did it. You did it. I’m so proud of you. I’m so proud of you.

Eric: Thank you, darling. Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate so much all the help you gave me. Thank you.

Donna: I love you so much.

Eric: I love you.

[ Both chuckling ] Everyone, you know, I– I– I just, um… I’m not certain I can explain to you how much this victory really means to me. It proves to me that I’m– I’m still able to do what I was put on this earth to do. To create beauty.

Ridge: Well, you still got it and you’ll always have it.

Eric: Until the end. Look, ridge, I know that, um, this created a lot of tension between you and me, and, uh, let’s get rid of that now.

Ridge: Okay.

Eric: Your talent– your talent never ceases to amaze me. Your designs were– they were sublime. Every one of them.

Ridge: Well, not good enough, right? I still have a lot to learn from you.

Eric: I had to do this, you know. I had to do this, not– not to beat you, but– but to prove that I was still relevant. That I wasn’t some old stapler to be discarded and just thrown away, you know.

Ridge: Well, no one’s gonna discard you or forget you ever, dad.

Eric: I know you didn’t want me to do this, but I think you understand now, right? You understand?

Ridge: I do.

Eric: Good.

Brooke: No. No, I’m sure I didn’t hear you right.

Rj: I’m sorry, mom. I really– I wanted to tell you and dad. I did, but granddad, he– he insisted he didn’t want anyone to know.

Brooke: So, this is really– really true? Eric is– he’s dying?

Donna: Okay. Okay. Why don’t we just sit down for a minute? It’s been a really big day.

Eric: An amazing day.

Donna: Yes. Yes, an amazing day. But also lots of stress and lots of pressure. I– I’m sure you– you must be tired.

Eric: No. No, quite the opposite. I mean, I’m so– I’m so excited. I really am. I’m all fired up. Wow.

Donna: Okay. Okay. Okay, let’s just sit down for a minute. Okay? Please?

Eric: No, no, no. Donna, I think I did it. I think I did it. I think– I think I sold out every piece. I could see it in the eyes of the buyers, multiple bids on, uh, on each gown. This is my finest collection. It really is. The best. I think I beat ridge.

Ridge: Hey, carter. It’s not what best friends do, right? Come on. You said one collection sold out, okay?

Carter: It was close, but one designer was victorious.

Ridge: You’re not gonna tell me? What do you? My– my dad is my dad. He’s an icon. He’s– he’s done amazing things long, long ago. That’s history. If we want to move forward with this company, it’s got to be me. So… what do we have?

Brooke: Rj, no. No, it can’t be. You must have misunderstood or something.

Rj: No. I– I wish I had. He’s been sick and– and it’s been getting worse. I’m sorry, the doctor said he only had a few months left to live. But that’s– that’s why he keeps calling this his grand finale. That’s why he wants so bad to win today.

Katie: All right. Follow me. We will finalize your bids. And this is amazing, I recognize it from a winter collection. Oh, look, this is my sister, donna.

Mr. Lords: What a remarkable show.

Buyer 1: Oh, we were just telling eric how honored we were to be included. One of the best shows I’ve ever witnessed.

Donna: Oh, thank you. Thank you. It was our pleasure to have you in attendance.

Buyer 2: The collection was truly inspired.

Donna: Thank you.

Katie: All right. Just follow me this way. We are gonna finalize your bids. Get you a little forrester swag.

Luna: It was remarkable.

Donna: Yeah. Yeah, it really was, wasn’t it? But we still don’t know who won, ridge or eric?

Ridge: You’re not gonna give me the numbers? You’re not gonna tell me? Don’t make me call jeresa and take that necklace back.

[ Carter laughing ] All right. And there it is. I won. I beat my dad.

Eric: We should know the results by now. I mean, it’s a surprise we haven’t heard from ridge.

Donna: Oh, I’m sure he’s just licking his wounds.

Eric: Yeah.

Donna: Losing for somebody like ridge is going to be a big bruise to his oversized ego.

Eric: Yeah.

Donna: Yeah.

Eric: Yeah.

Katie: So, how’s it feel? Your first show under your belt?

Luna: I mean, it’s– it’s pretty surreal to be a part of this. Like, from eric’s design team to helping you and your staff and it was definitely an organizational feat.

Katie: Well, it was a team effort.

Luna: It was awesome to be a part of it. But seriously, you are like a machine.

Katie: Well, it wasn’t hard. The designs were breathtaking. All I had to do was frame the narrative and let ridge and eric shine. Rj deserved a little bit of that sparkle too.

Luna: Yeah, I’m– I’m really proud of him.

Katie: Picking up on that. You really care about him. You know, don’t you?

Luna: Uh, uh, about eric?

Katie: Yeah.

Luna: Yeah. Um, rj confided in me about that.

Katie: It’s pretty big.

Luna: Yeah, I mean, you know, it’s been really hard for him to keep the secret. He loves his granddad and he wants to do right by him, but, you know, I also know that he feels really guilty for not telling his parents about it, especially his father.

Brooke: Oh, I can’t believe this. I can’t believe that eric is dying.

Rj: It’s been awful. It– it– it has just been so hard not to just tell you and dad. I…

Brooke: Honey, it’s okay.

Rj: It’s not.

Brooke: I understand. You were just taking care of your grandfather and that is admirable.

Rj: No, but every– every single time that dad was in there, he was asking me, “is my dad okay? Is granddad, okay?” I was– I was fighting not to tell him. I was trying so hard because he– I’m sorry, is my dad gonna hate me for not telling him? I should have told him, right?

Brooke: First of all, your father is never going to hate you. You can’t keep this a secret. You’ve got to tell your father. He deserves to know about his dad, okay?

Rj: Okay. I’m sorry, mom. I’m sorry.

Ridge: I won. I beat my dad on the runway. That’s his domain. Do you know what that means? My vision for forrester is correct.

Carter: Yes, it is. And I’m sorry for making you squirm, but it was really fun to watch, man. Congratulations. It’s a hard-fought battle, but you earned it.

Ridge: Yeah. It was a battle. I didn’t want that. He wanted it. He pushed it and he got it and he lost. And if it’s okay, I’m– I wanna be the one to tell him.

Carter: Ridge.

Ridge: Just look, I’m gonna do it the right way. I respect him. I love him. But I think it has to be me, all right? Hey.

Brooke: Hi. We need to talk to you, ridge. Carter, could you give us a minute?

Carter: Of course. Good job today, man.

Ridge: Actually, I was about to go down to the showroom and talk to dad about the fashion show–

Brooke: Okay. That can wait.

Ridge: It can wait? You don’t want to know who won?

Brooke: Um, something more important that we need to discuss.

Ridge: More important than that? I get– what?

Rj: Dad.

Ridge: Okay, okay. All right. Okay. All right. All right. I won. And I’m sorry, man. I– I know the work you did with granddad was amazing and your time will come, but not right now. Right now, it’s me. And, um, I would have been happy for you, if it were you. But can you be happy for me?

Brooke: Of course, we’re happy for you.

Rj: No, of course. Yes, your line was beautiful, but–

Ridge: Thank you.

Rj: No, we need to talk though.

Ridge: Come on. Can’t it wait? I want to talk to dad and see what he’s gonna say.

Rj: No! No! It can’t wait. We need– we need to talk now, okay? There’s no more time for this.

Ridge: Ah, dude. What’s going on here?

Brooke: Honey, do you want to tell him?

Ridge: What? Tell me what?

Rj: That– that I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry. Dad. Granddad’s dying.

Katie: I can see the toll this is taking on rj. Keeping this secret from his parents. I mean, even before I knew it was going on, I just chalked it up to nerves. First time designing, but what he’s doing for his grandfather, supporting him the way he is. It’s pretty incredible.

Luna: Yeah. I mean, he’s– he’s a really good guy. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone like him.

Katie: Well, he’s gonna need your support over the next few months. It’s not gonna be easy on him. It’s not gonna be easy on any of us. I mean, eric’s presence has always just seemed like, given. I can’t really imagine life without him.

Luna: Well, I’m gonna do whatever I can to be there and support rj.

Katie: Good. And we’ll do whatever we can to support eric. It just seems so unreal. But eric is gonna know how much we love him. I’ll make sure of it.

Eric: This is taking so long. Why– why is it taking? It shouldn’t take this long?

Donna: Okay. Okay. First of all, it has not been that long. And– and ridge is carter’s best friend. Of course, he’s gonna share the results with him first.

Eric: Yeah. I mean, what if– what if ridge wins? I mean, I’m just trying to be realistic here. I mean, ridge is a wonderful designer. He’s one of the– he’s one of the best in the world.

Donna: Oh, and you’re not?

Eric: Yes. Yeah, but he put on a really good show.

Donna: Eric…

Eric: I mean, what if he wins? What if he pulls it off?

Donna: No. Hey. Are you okay?

Eric: I’m okay.

Ridge: What are you talking about? My dad is dying. What is that?

Brooke: Ridge, I’m sorry. It’s a shock–

Ridge: No, no, no. Hang on, hang on. All right. Um, why are you saying these things?

Brooke: Just tell him what you told me?

Rj: Okay. Grandad, he came to me and he asked me to help him to design because he was struggling. He– he was having these tremors in his hand and he wasn’t able to design. He said that it was carpal tunnel or arthritis. And so, I just– I wanted to help him and– and he could mentor me, and–

Ridge: Okay. I heard what you said, right. So, how did it come from that to dying? I– I don’t get it.

Rj: Well, the symptoms– his symptoms got worse. Sorry. And– and the doctor said they couldn’t figure out what’s wrong with him.

Ridge: Okay. Worse how? Tell me. What–

Rj: He said that it was– it was T.I.A. Strokes. And then… I’m sorry, dad, he started coughing up blood.

Ridge: And this is the first I’m hearing about this? Right now?

Brooke: Eric didn’t want him to say anything to anybody.

Rj: I’m sorry. I wanted to. I wanted to. I sat– I stood right here and I wanted to tell you, but I couldn’t because I didn’t want to betray him. He said he didn’t want anybody to know about it. But, especially you.

Ridge: Me? My father didn’t want his son to know?

Rj: Well, he said he didn’t want anyone’s pity and– and that he wouldn’t be able to stand it.

Ridge: Oh, okay.

Rj: But dad, that this– but this– this is why he wanted to complete this last collection so bad and– and why he–

Ridge: I got it!

Rj: I’m sorry.

Ridge: All right. So my father, the man who’s given me everything, he’s dying. That’s– that’s where we are. Yes? Is that it?

Rj: I’m sorry. I’m–

Donna: Eric, please. You, listen, you’ve got to take care of yourself. You are not well, and you cannot get yourself so worked up.

Eric: Worked up. Worked up?

Donna: Yes.

Eric: Donna, you saw this. You saw this collection. You saw it as some of the finest work of my life. This– this is my finest achievement, my greatest achievement. But this could easily be my– the final designs of my life. If I don’t win this, it’s over. All of it. I’m afraid that, uh, I’ll lose the excitement and– and the anticipation and the thrill of watching buyers bid on these– these wonderful pieces that we do. Oh, god. Let alone getting my office back. If I– if I don’t win this, it’s all over.

Donna: Stop. Stop talking like that. Okay, I can’t stand–

Eric: All right. All right. All right. Listen.

Donna: …Talking like that.

Eric: It’s all right. I understand that this is probably my last collection. I– I accept it. I– I’ve come– I’ve come to a peaceful place for that. But I– I just can’t wait for the end– the final tally. That’s what I wanna know. I wanna know how this ends up. Uh, uh, have you heard anything? Have you heard anything from ridge and from carter about this?

Katie: No, no, not anything yet.

Luna: Yeah. He said it should take some time.

Eric: It shouldn’t take this much time. It’s taking too long. Come on. Let’s– let’s– I don’t want to wait. Let’s find out– let’s find out what’s going on. Let’s go to the office. Come on.

Ridge: My dad is dying. Well, that doesn’t seem real, does it?

Brooke: No, it doesn’T. He is the backbone of this family and I don’t know what we’re gonna do without him.

Rj: Dad, I’m so sorry. There were so many times that I came so close to tell– we stood right here and I– I wanted to tell you, but I could hear him pleading with me in my head not to tell you and I just didn’t wanna– I just didn’t want to let him down. You understand that, right?

Ridge: Yeah. Sure. How long does he have? Do you know?

Rj: The doctor says he has a few months.

Brooke: This was a great burden for you to carry, sweetheart, but you did right by your grandfather. You need to know that.

Rj: I– I don’t know if I’ve done right by my father, mom.

Ridge: We’re fine. Um, so this is why you worked with granddad? This is why?

Rj: Yes, I needed him. He needed me. I mean, you know how I felt about the family business when I got back to L.A. He– he made me realize I have a passion for this, dad. I love this. I– I wanna do this for the rest of my life and I wouldn’t have that if– if he didn’t show me that. I don’t know how I’m gonna be able to repay him for that.

Ridge: I’m proud of you.

Rj: I love him.

Ridge: Well, we all love him, son. We all do.

Brooke: We are strong and we are resilient and we will get through this together, as a family.

Rj: Dad, you– you get now, why he– you know why he wanted to win the fashion challenge so bad, right? It– it was just because he wanted to solidify his legacy. That’s why he wanted to do this, the whole grand finale.

Eric: Well, here you all are. In my office. Why am I not surprised? Well, I assume from your silence that you know who won the fashion challenge? And I can see from the look on your faces that you know.

Ridge: Yeah, I know.

Eric: So, what’s the count, ridge? Who won this thing? You or me?

[ Ethereal music ]

Katie: A vision in white. This magical creation will transform you to a place of fantasy and illusion. You’ll be floating on a cloud swept up in a dream. Forrester has pulled out all the stops with this look. Number 19.

Katie: This gown is a red-carpet vision of old hollywood meets modern elegance. It has a beaded diamond and crystal bodice. This stunning creation captures our imagination with a dramatic silk pleated bow, which flares to the ground to complete the train.

Esther: Oh, I have never, ever seen anything so beautiful. What– what– what number is it?

Lauren: Well, by your dot system…. 20.

Esther: Oh. Wow.

Countess: It’s not that bad.

Katie: Ladies and gentlemen, the designers behind the beautiful, stunning creations that we have had the privilege to see today, eric forrester and ridge forrester.

[ Audience applauding ]

Katie: Now, if any of you were inspired by what you saw, please make sure to get your orders in before it’s too late. Thank you for joining us at the house of forrester.

Ridge: Hell of a showing.

Eric: Yeah. My part of it, it was anyway.

Ridge: Wow. Okay.

[ Laughing ]

Ridge: May the best man win.

Eric: May the best man win. Yes.

[ Coughing ] You know that feeling of having to

Ridge: It’s a simple question. Do you have all the orders?

Carter: I was letting the champagne combat any indecisiveness, but I’ll be tabulating the orders soon.

Ridge: You’ll be– you’ll be tabulating? Wow. Look up tabulating. Just count ’em all up and tell me that I won.

Zende: It’s gonna be tight. You and your dad, though, you put together some amazing looks.

Paris: Sure did. And our donors for the foundation definitely agree. You should see the comments online.

Carter: So, does anyone know today was really a battle between you and eric?

Ridge: Hey.

Lauren: Hi. Well, esther insisted on hand delivering–

Esther: My order number.

[ Both laughing ]

Ridge: Well, that is a very good choice, mrs. Valentine.

Esther: Oh. Oh, please. Call me esther.

Ridge: Esther. Okay.

Countess: Almost forgot. My order.

Esther: Oh. That’s the same one that I wanted.

Countess: I don’t have to remind you what a longstanding, extremely influential patron of forrester creations I am.

Carter: We’re very aware.

Countess: Under no circumstances will I wear a gown owned by this simpleton.

Lauren: Excuse me?

Ridge: It’s all right. I got this. Um, I’m sorry, esther, but you put in your request first. So it’s– it’s your gown. Yours alone.

Countess: You can’t be serious! Ridge, look at her! She carries a feather duster in her handbag.

Ridge: Countess, sorry.

Countess: You have made a very big mistake. I will never buy another forrester original again. Or shop at fenmores.

Lauren: Such a pity.

Esther: So… this gown… it’s mine?

Ridge: It’s yours, esther.

Esther: Oh. If mrs. Chancellor could see me now.

Lauren: Something tells me she had something to do with it. I’m so happy for you.

Ridge: Well, don’t forget you gotta come back for a fitting and, um, possible dinner.

Esther: I would be happy to return to los angeles. I can’t believe it. This is a dream come true. After all these years I’m finally getting a gown as beautiful as mrs. Chancellor’S.

Lauren: Aww. You deserve it.

[ Laughing ]

Luna: It is gotta be tough for you. But look, I know you’re dealing with a lot. And I know that you’re super worried about your granddad. But you also have to take a moment and realize what a major accomplishment you just had today. Your first fashion show.

Rj: I appreciate it. I’m– I’m proud of what we did today, but it’s hard for me to even think about it when all I’m doing is worrying about my granddad.

Brooke: Oh. Uh…

Rj: Hi.

Brooke: [ Chuckles ] Hi. Uh, sorry. Uh, I don’t mean to interrupt. I just came to congratulate my very talented son on the amazing showing he did today.

Luna: I’ll, uh, give you two sometime alone. It was good seeing you, brooke. And congrats again, rj.

Brooke: Well, looks like I’m not the only one that’s happy for you.

Rj: Luna has been, uh, a huge help with everything.

Brooke: It’s okay. I don’t need to know the details.

[ Laughing ] I just wanted to tell you that I am very proud of you. Your father is too.

Rj: I appreciate it. You know about luna, I-I–

Brooke: Yeah. No, she’s a sweet girl. She is. And I could tell how you care about each other. But that’s not why I came here to talk to you. There’s something that is troubling me. It’s about your grandfather.

Charlie: I saw what happened. You, uh, you got the dress of your dreams. I am so, so happy for you, esther. And I know one thing for sure. You are gonna make that dress even more beautiful than it is.

Esther: I have to head back to genoa city with lauren. I– I’ve loved my time here and so enjoyed getting to know you, charlie. I hope that I’ll get to see you again when I come back for my fittings.

Charlie: Yeah. I don’t do fittings. Uh, I’m a security guy. I– I wouldn’t know how to put the measure at– oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, I’d really like it if you came back. But I love how happy this dress makes you.

Esther: Oh, it means more to me than anything in the world.

Charlie: I’m gonna miss you.

Esther: I’m gonna miss you, too.

Charlie: Yeah. Before you go…

Lauren: Esther, we need to get going.

Charlie: Goodbye, esther.

Esther: Goodbye, charlie.

[ Both panting ]

Charlie: Oh, uh, uh, cinderella. I mean, ms. Valentine, you forgot your gown.

Esther: [ Chuckles ] Thank you. You know, maybe this doesn’t mean more to me than anything in the world.

Charlie: Esther valentine. Oh, boy.

Zende: What did I tell you? Quite a rush, right?

Luna: Seriously, I’ll– I’ll never forget what today felt like.

Zende: And you never forget your first. Hey, some of the team is getting together to grab drinks later to celebrate. You should come. There they are. Let’s toast to forrester.

Paris: Oh. And the comments just keep coming in online. Tremendous hits.

Ridge: And that’s amazing. But there’s only one thing I’m interested in.

Carter: The orders are in. I’ll go tabulate– tally. I’ll tally them.

Ridge: It’s a better word.

Carter: It’s much better. And we’ll know who won the fashion challenge soon enough.

Eric: Very good. I’m dying to know.

Brooke: Honey, is something going on with your grandfather? I asked katie and donna during the show and I didn’t really get an answer. So why don’t you tell me? Look, I’m your mother. I know when something’s going on. Right now I can see that you’re very bothered. So why don’t you just talk to me? Honey, what is it?

Rj: I– I can’T. I can’t– I can’t do this any longer.

Brooke: What?

Rj: I– I can’t hold onto the secret.

Brooke: What do you mean? What secret? Is this about eric?

Rj: Mom, there’s something that you need to know. You and dad and the entire family. It’s time that all of you and everybody knew.

Eric: My last hurrah. My final collection.

Donna: Please don’t look at it like that. I am so very proud of you today. What you’ve accomplished. I mean, your designs were magnificent.

Eric: They were.

Donna: Yeah, they were. Really.

Eric: I have to win this showdown. I have to. I have to maintain my role as– as leadership of this company, as the founder of forrester creations. Ridge can’t take that away from me.

Brooke: So what is going on with eric?

Rj: I swear I wanted to tell you, but granddad made me keep it a secret. Donna wanted to tell you as well.

Donna: My sister knows about this? Okay, rj, whatever you’re keeping to yourself, I can tell it’s a huge weight on you. So please just talk to me.

Rj: The reason why granddad’s been so determined, I– I– i didn’t even know it at first because he’s been so– so positive and– and inspiring. Mom, the reason why he keeps calling this his grand finale, he’s dying, mom. Granddad’s dying.

Ridge: No, I like that. Victorious day. Yes. Quote from me. I, uh, all right. Uh, we are a classic company with cutting edge future. Sure. All right, I will. Thank you. Bye.

Carter: Modest much?

Ridge: Why? It was a great show.

Carter: It was. Yours and eric’s designs were inspired.

Ridge: But obviously one was more inspired than the other. So what happened? Did we both sell out?

Carter: No. One collection sold out. One didn’T.

Ridge: That’s what I’m— that’s what I’m saying. And I don’t wanna be disrespectful to my dad. He’s taught me everything I know, but today I had to beat him. So what are you doing? Get up. Give me a hug. Shake hands. Tell me I beat the old man. Tell me I won.

Recap written by Suzanne

The Forrester fashion show challenge is underway. All of the gowns are beautiful. Zende flirts with Luna, briefly. Katie reminds the people in the audience to mark down whichever design they like. Eric continues to watch from behind the stage curtains. The snooty Contessa Von Frankfurt keeps making snide comments to Esther. RJ praises Luna’s hard work.

Brooke gets suspicious while watching Eric, Donna and Katie. She goes over to her sisters and wants to know what’s going on. They just make excuses for why Eric seems “off.” Eric thanks RJ and Luna for their help and how much they know what this means to him.

These stunning gowns are designed by Eric Forrester and ridge forrester. But of course we want to maintain an air of mystery. These creations are truly works of art. So be sure to bid on the gown you love the best.

Zende: Thanks again for all your help with everything, luna, you’re rocking it.

Luna: Yeah, of course.

Paris: I can’t believe all of these top clients and buyers were given the opportunity to purchase the gown today.

Zende: With no idea they’re actually settling a bet between ridge and eric. Winner takes all, the couture line, the ceo office.

Paris: Yeah, there’s a lot riding on today.

Rj: More than anyone knows.

Katie: All right, well, I can see a lot of pencils moving. Please be sure to write clearly whichever design that you like. So, onward.

[ Audience gasps ]

Katie: This beautiful, form-fitting design is made from hand-spun silk jersey and is encrusted with diamonds. It features a sexy thigh-high reveal. And to finish, the look is draped with an evening train, which adds a hint of drama. Who said diamonds aren’t a girl’s best friend? We give you look number three.

Lauren: That is just gorgeous.

Esther: Look at that. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life.

Von frankfurt: I’m sure you haven’T.

Donna: Ridge’s designs are okay, but yours are exquisite.

Eric: Thank you.

Donna: How are you feeling?

Eric: I feel so alive. I feel so good. I’m taking back forester creations. I’m taking it back.

Katie: Forrester creations is pleased to present look number seven. A silver and black brocade waterfall gown with a haltered neckline, which gives this classic shape an extra twist. The detailed floral overlay completes this sumptuous feminine look with just a hint of sparkle.

Esther: Oh, my gosh, it’s stunning. [ Sighs ]

Von frankfurt: Might I ask, are you planning on commenting on every gown today?

Lauren: Uh, so tell me, esther, have you found the dress of your dreams yet?

Esther: Well, they’re all so beautiful. I don’t know how I’ll ever choose.

Lauren: You’ll know. You will know. The dress will speak to you. It will stand out from the rest.

[ Chuckles ]

Zende: Thought there was no livestreams today.

Paris: There is not. I am uploading content to an exclusive link for donors if they contributed to the foundation.

Zende: Yeah, looks like ridge and eric aren’t the only two switching things up a bit.

Paris: Mm-hmm. Look who we have here, none other than one of the designers who helped make today possible, zende forrester.

Rj: We wouldn’t have that last design if it wasn’t for you.

Luna: What?

Rj: Do you remember the– the whole lace thing, the customs and all that?

Luna: Well, yeah. I literally just stayed on the supplier and asked them to send the right document.

Rj: Yes, you did. And because you did that, we got it perfect.

Brooke: It looks like our son has more on his mind than fashion.

Ridge: He’s about to learn a very important lesson. So is my dad.

[ Coughs ]

Katie: Please welcome sage, in number 11, forrester couture’s elegant ball gown designed using ruby red matelassé woven organza. This one of a kind fabric and pattern is exclusive to forrester and has never before been used. That’s why we are pleased to say that these materials come to you straight from the couture vault that has only been opened for this special collection. Once again, number 11.

[ Coughs ]

Ridge: We’re rocking and rolling. Can you feel it?

Model 1: Absolutely. They’re loving it.

Ridge: Yes, they are.

Dennis: Be fools not to, right?

Ridge: Not wrong. Dennis. Not wrong. Rj and my dad, they’re putting up one hell of a fight.

Model 2: Yeah.

Rj: That’s great.

Eric: Good to see you.

Rj: There he is.

Eric: Looks good on you. Yes. Nice. All right. Keep up the energy out there. I love it. It’s really good. Nicely done.

Rj: Hey. Great. I love this. Seriously, this is so much fun. Why didn’t you tell me it was so much fun?

Eric: He gets it.

Rj: Yeah, I do. You’re ready, by the way, you’re all ready to go.

Eric: You look wonderful.

Rj: Thank you. No. Good luck.

Eric: Great. So. You really do get it, don’t you?

Rj: Yeah. Yeah.

Eric: You know the beauty of it is it never changes. It never goes away. No matter how many showings you do, it never goes away. Come here. I couldn’t have done this without you. Come here, luna. Come here. This is so cool. Thank you. I’m so proud of our work. I’m so proud of it. Your father’s designs are really wonderful. They really are. But we’re holding our own. We’re doing fine. And I don’t appreciate his mind games, either. Having us– having us prepare here instead of backstage while he has, you know what office he’s in.

Rj: Well, I mean, that’s– I don’t think that’s why he did that.

Eric: Yes, it is. That’s exactly why he’s doing it. He’s playing mind games with us. Look, I appreciate how aware you are of how important this is to me. I’ve gotta win this thing. It’s like my life depends on it.

Katie: This black silk charmeuse gown features a plunging neckline and a bodice of precious and semiprecious stones. The diamond pattern accentuates the single sleeve, which adds an angular feel. The look is complete with an asymmetric slit, evoking a sense of rebellion.

Katie: Number 14. This deep red mikado satin gown with asymmetrical bustled skirt evokes nothing but drama. A detailed bow adorns the waist and a spectacular chapel train makes this a look not to be forgotten. Deep red georgette opera gloves completes this timeless ensemble.

Brooke: What is going on?

Katie: Nothing. We’re just enjoying a fabulous show.

Donna: It’s one of the finest. Eric’s designs are pretty amazing, you have to admit.

Brooke: So are ridge’S. Yes. Some of the best ever produced. That’s not what I’m talking about. I’ve been watching the two of you, and eric, too. Is there something going on that I don’t know about? Something going on with eric?

Brooke: Well, is something going on with eric I should know about? See? That look. What’s going on?

Donna: Nothing that you don’t already know, brooke. Just that he’s hoping to win the showdown and reclaim his rightful place as head of forrester creations.

Brooke: Yeah, donna, I’m very well aware of that.

Donna: Yeah.

Brooke: I’m talking about something different.

Donna: What?

Brooke: I saw eric earlier and he just seemed off.

Katie: It– it’s nerves. I’m sure it’s nerves, right? This is very important to him. I’m sure ridge must be feeling it too. This could be eric’s last fashion show.

Donna: Yeah.

Katie: I’m up, so I gotta go.

Brooke: Uh– uh, well–

Donna: Yeah, actually, I– no, I really have to go too. I’m so sor– I’m sorry, brooke.

Katie: Look number 15 is a whimsical, deep forest green chiffon silk gown. It features hand beaded, emerald, gemstones.

Ridge: I don’t blame you.

[ Inaudible ]

[ Inaudible ]

Katie: The gathered skirt gives an airy quality which flows with every step. And is only accentuated by the high slit, revealing a bit of leg. The nude bodice gives a hint of mystery, leaving us wanting to see more.

Lauren: Excuse me?

Von frankfurt: What? I forgot what number we’re on.

Esther: Oh, it’s right here in the program, see? It’s a little trick that I use. I just put dots by the ones that have already passed.

Katie: A vision in white. This magical creation will transform you to a place of fantasy and illusion. You’ll be floating on a cloud, swept up in a dream.

[ Inaudible ]

Katie: Forrester has pulled out all the stops with this look, number 19.

Rj: I can’t believe this. You’re dying? We should be flying in specialists, not putting on a fashion show. This is crazy.

Donna: Honey, listen. I really want to support you in this, but you heard the doctor. He doesn’t want you doing the showdown.

Katie: Eric, I’m so sorry this is happening to you. It’s so unbearably unfair.

Rj: Please, granddad. Please tell my dad. He’s gonna be devastated when he finds out. You don’t know how much he loves you.

Eric: I’ll beat you, ridge. I will be in charge of this company again. One last time.

Daytime Soap Opera Short Recaps

Recap written by Suzanne

The Forresters start their big fashion showdown. Beforehand, they greet some of their big guests, such as French singer Fanny Greyson (Elsa Esnoult) and Countess Von Frankfurt (Marie Osmond). Katie does a sound check and then introduces everyone to the select crowd. Two dresses are modeled (one of Eric’s and one of Ridge’s). Eric insists on standing back behind the stage (so no one can see him coughing, I think?).

RJ confides to Luna that Eric is dying, so she comforts him.

Charlie continues to flirt with Esther.

Katie: Check, check. Check. One, two. Forrester. Forrester. How’d that sound? Good? Okay, great. Thank you. Hey, there he is. The man of the hour.

Eric: What, what? Me?

Katie: Oh, yes. Don’t joke. Of course, I mean you.

Eric: Yeah.

Katie: How are you feeling?

Eric: Like I was born to do this.

Donna: Oh, I truly think you were.

[ Eric chuckling ]

Eric: There you are.

Donna: There you are. Are you ready, honey bear?

Eric: Am I ready? Come on. Look at this. I have to say, it never gets old. The thrill and the excitement and the anticipation and with a little added layer today, I’m going head-to-head with my son.

Katie: All right. Well, make sure you take it easy. Remember what the doctor said.

Eric: Yes, well, the doctor said a lot of things, but he didn’t say anything about this day today, here. This day, this feeling, I’ve never felt this alive in my life.

Ridge: Well, I guess it wouldn’t be day of if something didn’t go wrong. We gotta fix this or give me another option.

Kenzie: We’ll make do.

Ridge: Thank you.

Carter: Sorry. Excuse me.

Ridge: Oh, hi. This is your fault.

Carter: What is?

Ridge: This. The dress. You shot your mouth off last night.

Carter: I paid you a compliment.

Ridge: You said I had it in the bag, is what you said.

Carter: I said you might just pull this thing off.

Ridge: That’s the same thing and now, you’ve jinxed me. We’re scrambling.

Brooke: Oh, Carter. I know better than to say something that’s going to jinx Ridge the day of the showing. Just go with it. I’m gonna go see Donna.

Carter: All right. I won’t say anything to you before showing ever again.

Ridge: Thank you. Why are you here?

Carter: Wanna let you know that Katie and I, we went over our intro, the language of how this is gonna work. The guests will make their selections, I’ll tabulate their orders and winner takes all. The mantle of Forrester Couture, this CEO office. The stakes have never been higher.

Ridge: I’m ready.

Model: Everything okay, RJ?

RJ: Yeah. Thank you, yeah. Sorry, uh, it’s just that Eric wanted these alterations sent to Angelo two minutes ago and he should have them now. Great, thank you all. Uh, one more thing. Please make sure that, uh, Eric gets a one– a final– another look. Make sure he gets another look before the show. You’re all set. Thank you so much.

Model: Mm-hmm.

RJ: Thank you.

Luna: You okay? What was that about?

RJ: I’m fine. I… I told you that I trusted you and I mean it. Luna, you know how I’ve been– you know, I’ve been worried about my granddad’s health. He told me last night… my granddad’s dying.

Luna: I can’t believe it.

RJ: I’m still in shock myself.

Luna: Wait, so he just found out a few days ago? Should– should your granddad even be doing all of this today?

RJ: Oh, no. He insists. He’s full of life. He’s more inspired than ever. It just doesn’t make any sense.

Luna: I feel awful for him and for you.

RJ: Just even more conflicted now.

Luna: Wait, your– your father still doesn’t know? Hey. I’m gonna do whatever I can to help you through this, ‘kay?

Katie: We are so happy to have you here. Oh, Brooke, Donna. Uh, sorry to interrupt, but look who’s here.

Brooke: Fanny Greyson.

Fanny: Bienvenue.

Katie: I’m gonna excuse myself. I have some things I need to take care of backstage.

Fanny: Brooke, I was delighted to receive a golden ticket. Flew this morning. I’m so excited to see Eric and Ridge’s latest designs.

Brooke: We all are. I want you to meet my sister, Donna Logan. Fanny is an amazing singer.

Donna: Of course, I know who she is. Brooke, come on. Oh, my god, I love watching and listening to your videos online. They’re amazing.

Fanny: Oh, that’s so kind.

Van Frankfurt: Brooke, darling. So happy to see you.

Brooke: I’m so glad you could make it.

Van Frankfurt: Wouldn’t miss this Forrester exclusive fashion show for the world.

Brooke: That’s right. Fanny Greyson, I’d like you to meet Countess Von Frankfurt.

Fanny: Pleased to meet you.

Van Frankfurt: Yes.

Brooke: So glad that you’re here. Donna.

Donna: Oh, hi.

[ Items clattering ]

Esther: Oh, I’m so sorry. Let me help you.

Lauren: It’s okay, Esther. He’s got it.

Esther: Oh, oh, oh.

Brooke: And from Genoa City, Ms. Lauren Fenmore.

Lauren: Oh, Countess.

Brooke: And Esther Valentine.

Lauren: Fanny, so lovely to see you.

Fanny: Feels like no time has passed.

Lauren: I know, right? Hi, darling. How are you?

Donna: How are you?

Lauren: It’s great to see you.

Esther: I can’t believe that I’m actually in the Forrester showroom. Oh.

Van Frankfurt: Close your mouth, dear. Wouldn’t want to catch any flies.

[ Donna chuckling ]

Ridge: You did this.

Paris: We ran into Mackenzie downstairs.

Ridge: Okay. Where did you learn this little trick?

Zende: Nowhere.

Ridge: Nowhere? I know you’re talented, but this is not something you could just pull out of your hat, so who taught you?

Zende: Granddad.

Ridge: Dad, of course. That doesn’t surprise me at all. Well, listen, you saved the day. So did you. Making this part of the foundation was inspired. All right. Thank you all. I’ll see you downstairs.

Brooke: I know how much you love your father.

Ridge: Damn right, I do. Hi.

Brooke: But I also know how much you wanna win this thing.

Ridge: Damn right, I do. I wanna put this behind us.

Lauren: Oh, that sounds fabulous.

Van Frankfurt: Didn’t want to leave the yacht, but Monaco was divine as ever.

Lauren: Oh.

Esther: Oh, don’t mind if I do.

Van Frankfurt: No.

Lauren: I’m good, thank you.

Esther: Oh, thank you. Probably holding off for pigs in a blanket or a hot dog. Countess Frankfurter, right? I like a good old fashioned hot dog myself. Extra onions, relish.

Van Frankfurt: It’s Frankfurt, not frankfurter.

Esther: So, probably happens all the time. I apologize.

Charlie: No– no offense intended, yeah. Just– just doing my job, you know. Gotta check the– have a nice day.

[ Charlie sighing ]

Van Frankfurt: Who is this simple creature and what is she doing at a elegant Forrester fashion show?

Lauren: Ah, well, that is the one and only, Esther valentine.

Charlie: Ticket, ma’am. Come on.

Esther: Oh, okay.

Charlie: No, no, no. I know, I’m just kidding. I just– I just wanted to see if you were still packing your lethal feather duster.

Esther: Oh, I never leave home without it.

Charlie: Oh, my god. Tell– tell me you did not just do the double helix. Nobody does– you know what? I hope this show is half as entertaining as you are.

Zende: I wanted to come see you in Nashville, but we were prepping like crazy.

Paris: Yeah, I heard it was fire.

Fanny: Oh, that’s so kind. You should come to another one as my guests.

RJ: Really?

Fanny: Yes, of course. I would be so honored. I love Forrester. I was telling Ridge earlier, I’m hoping to find the most beautiful and special gown today.

Luna: Yeah, well, it’s gonna be hard to choose just one.

Charlie: Okay, it– it– it– it’s none of my darn business, but, I mean, are you two just spectators today? Or are you gonna add to the old wardrobes?

Lauren: Oh, well.

Charlie: Oh, my God. Put– put that away. I’m gonna have to get extra security detail for that.

Esther: Well, Mrs. Chancellor, I– I worked for her for decades, and she was really generous to me. And I spent a lot of time with her, so I would see Eric and Ridge’s breathtaking designs, and it’s always been a dream of mine to own a Forrester original gown for myself.

Lauren: Okay, that’s really wonderful, Esther, but put your money away, okay?

Esther: Okay.

Charlie: Esther, I– I promise you, you will find the gown of your dreams. I mean, this is– this is the finest collection I’ve ever seen.

Esther: Oh.

Woman: Sounds good.

Ridge: Thank you. Bye.

Brooke: This jinx talk and all this nervous energy you have going on, I think it’s more than just preshow jitters. I think it’s because you’re going into battle with your father, a man that you love and admire.

Ridge: First of all, this is adrenaline. It always gets going at the show. You know that. And, yeah, I don’t like going against my dad, but… I have to. I have to pull this off. For the good of the company.

Donna: Katie is all ready with her intro.

Eric: Good.

Donna: This is it. We are doing it.

Eric: Yeah, we are, aren’t we? This is great. Look, I’m going to, um… I’m gonna watch from back here, all right?

Donna: Oh. Oh, okay, well, then I’ll join you.

Eric: No, no, that’s all right. I just want to take it all in. All right? You– you watch from out front.

Donna: Okay… you know, I support you 1,000%.

Eric: I do. It means so much to me, too. So don’t think about anything else. Just go out and… enjoy the beauty of everything that happens today. My final collection.

Carter: Showtime.

Brooke: For good luck.

[ Audience murmuring ]

Katie: Welcome. Good afternoon. I’m Katie Logan. I am head of PR for Forrester Creations, and it is my distinct honor and pleasure to welcome all of you to this exclusive event. Before we get started, I’d like to highlight a few people in our audience who have made today possible. Zende Forrester, who is an integral part of our design team. Paris Buckingham, whom I’m sure you all know, heads our foundation. Carter Walton, our brilliant COO, RJ, Ridge Forrester, Jr., who has been co-designing with his grandfather, the esteemed Eric Forrester.

[ Applause ]

Katie: My beautiful sister, Brooke Logan Forrester, who is a legend unto herself. And Ridge Forrester, who needs no introduction, but… I wouldn’t want to make him feel left out.

[ Audience laughing ]

Katie: Truly, we are all honored to have you here. You have flown in from all over the world, from Paris, from Milan, from Genoa City, Wisconsin. And I just want to be clear about how today is gonna go. So you will be seeing designs from Eric and from Ridge. All of the gowns will be numbered. And did everyone get their pencil and their piece of paper that we passed out? Okay, good, good, good.

Von Frankfurt: And how am I to know whether I’m buying an Eric Forrester or a Ridge Forrester original?

Katie: Oh, you won’t. That’s part of the fun. We’ve decided to create an air of mystery for today’s event.

[ Audience murmuring ]

[ Lively instrumental ]

Katie: You might say that this is highly unusual, and you wouldn’t be wrong, but Forrester has always broken the mold. We have, for decades, solidified our reputation with our buyers, with our clientele, based on opulence and elegance. And we’re going to see plenty of that today. But we are also not afraid to reinvent ourselves. You are going to see examples of both schools of thought, and I encourage you to write down the gown that you love the most. And if you’re lucky enough to win your selection, you will come back to Forrester. You’ll have a private fitting with either Ridge or Eric. But best of all, you will have a first look at the new Couture collection. I can feel the excitement in the room. Can’t you? Hundreds of hours have gone in to each and every design. I think it’s fair to say that both Eric and Ridge have poured more of themselves into these collections than they ever have with anything else they produce. Some might say that that is the curse of the artist. Others might say that it’s what makes life worth living. So, without further ado, the House of Forrester Couture.

[ Audience applauding ]

Katie: We begin our collection with look number one. This exquisite gown comes exclusively in black taffeta with a luxurious trumpeted tulle skirt.

Donna: It’s pure class. Just like my honey bear.

Katie: No attention to detail has been overlooked with this beautiful creation, complete with a hand-sewn gemstone bodice. The designer has completed this look with sheer opera gloves, giving this gown a timeless feel. Look number two is an elevated column satin gown with a modern bustier bodice. As you can see, these bright red crystals shimmer with every turn. The high slit in back gives this look an added layer of style and sophistication. Once again, we present looks number one and two.

Ridge: Well, we’re off to the races.

Eric: Off to the races. Yeah, so we are.

Ridge: So what’s your plan? You gonna go out there? Or are you gonna watch your defeat from back here?

Eric: Defeat? No, no, I hardly think so. I– I’ve been watching here. I can see it. I can feel it.

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Eric: The day is mine, Ridge.

Ridge: Your grand finale, right?

Eric: My grand finale. That’s right.

[ Eric chuckling ]

[ Coughing ]
