Brady called Kristen and asked if he could take her to see the fireworks. While they were talking, they got in an argument. When Brady got off the phone, Tate confronted him about saying his children meant everything to him. Tate wanted Brady to prove it by helping him with his mother and letting him see Holly. Holly talked to Eric and apologized for Jude. She talked to him about being grounded again. In her mind, it was no way to live. Eric said he wished he could do something. Holly asked him to talk to Nicole. Melinda told EJ that there was nothing keeping her from telling Nicole the truth since she has immunity. When Nicole walked in, she wanted to know what was going on. EJ told Nicole he gave Melinda immunity. Nicole tried to attack Melinda for kidnapping her son and lying to Eric. Melinda said there was something she could do to help Eric. Ava saw Kristen at the Bistro. She talked to Kristen about Harris leaving town. Ava said she thought he wasn’t leaving to help Hope. He was leaving because of her mistakes. Ava told Kristen that no one could find out that she slept with Stefan. Brady told Tate that Theresa overreacted about the prom, but he still lied to them. He gave Tate a brochure to a lacrosse camp in New York. It would give Theresa time to cool off. Brady told Tate that they could talk about him being able to see Holly in the fall. Tate refused to go to the camp.

Eric told Holly that he needed to give Nicole space. He said he was leaving Salem. Holly said he couldn’t leave. She said they would all miss him. Holly asked him to talk to Nicole about her and Tate. He said it wasn’t his place to give out parenting advice. The decision was up to Nicole and EJ. When Melinda was about to tell Nicole how she could help Eric, Stefan and Gabi came in. EJ pretended to be happy to see Gabi, but she didn’t believe him. He walked Melinda out so they could celebrate as a family. When EJ and Melinda were at the door, she yelled at him for stealing her job. He offered her another job. EJ let her know that if she opened her mouth about what he did she would never work again. EJ offered her a job as DiMera counsel. Melinda told him that Kristen killed her daughter. She said he wasn’t in a position to offer that job. EJ said Kristen would hire her out of guilt over Haley. He said she will have money and power. When Nicole came out, she wanted to know why Melinda was still there. Kristen told Ava her secret was safe with her. They toasted to Kristen’s new job. When Ava told her about her job at the pub, Kristen offered her a job at DiMera. Kristen said she needed an ally at work. She said EJ would hate it. Ava accepted the job. Brady told Tate he didn’t have a choice about the camp. Tate said Brady didn’t want to see him and Holly happy together or separately. Brady reminded him that they had two dates that ended badly. He told Tate that he put a down payment on the camp so he was going whether he liked it or not. Holly told Eric that EJ didn’t care about her as much as his other kids. She said it was only a matter of time when Nicole and EJ broke up. Holly said she wished Nicole stayed with him. She asked Eric not to leave Salem. He said he would pray that things got better. EJ told Nicole that he and Melinda were talking about an important case. Melinda said they resolved their problem before she left. Nicole asked EJ why he would give Melinda immunity. EJ said he didn’t have a choice because Rafe and Stefan were desperate to free Gabi who was innocent. Nicole said Melinda wasn’t innocent. She told him she wanted to be alone. Nicole thought about Eric telling her he was leaving town. While Eric was alone, he looked at his phone and saw a job offer in Paris.

Chanel told Johnny that she enjoyed having a life growing inside of her. It was a life they made together. Johnny offered to get her things from home. She told him not to let her mother in if she shows up. He agreed not to let her in the room. Abe comforted Paulina at the hospital. Johnny walked by them, so Abe offered his condolences. Paulina wanted to sit with Chanel, but Johnny told her that she didn’t want to see her. He wanted Paulina to respect Chanel’s wishes. Eric stopped by the paper to let Nicole know that he might be leaving Salem. He applied for jobs in other cities and hoped that he heard from one of them. Nicole wondered if he was leaving because it was too painful to be around Jude. He needed time away to accept that he’s not Jude’s father. EJ called Rafe and told him that he needed him to find Melinda for Gabi to be freed from prison. Rafe believed his guys could track her down. He didn’t think Melinda would give up Clyde’s book without an immunity deal. EJ ordered Rafe to find Melinda. He would deal with the rest. Gabi was happy to reunite with Stefan. She was happy to be out of solitary even though she kept getting beaten up. Gabi didn’t want to focus on that because they didn’t have much time together. Stefan told her they would have more time together because she was going free. She wanted to believe him, but she didn’t want to get her hopes up. Stefan told her about the plan with EJ. She reminded him that EJ did everything in his power to put her in prison. Stefan assured her that EJ was on their side now. Gabi wondered what changed his mind.

Melinda walked into the interrogation room. Rafe demanded Clyde’s book in exchange for immunity. Melinda was suspicious. She wondered why EJ would agree to that. EJ sent Stefan an update when Johnny walked in the room. He told EJ about Chanel losing the baby. EJ was sympathetic towards him, but he got upset. Johnny reminded him that he never wanted them to have the baby. EJ was genuinely sorry and wanted what he wanted. They hugged each other. Paulina told Abe that Mark couldn’t confirm whether the baby died because of Chanel’s exposure to radiation. Abe told her not to blame herself. She knew that Chanel blamed her for it. Abe went to Chanel’s room to offer his condolences. He tried to plead Paulina’s case, but she lashed out at him. She didn’t want to talk about her mother. He agreed and held her. Nicole tried to calm Jude down, but she had trouble doing it. Eric told her what to do. Nicole knew that Jude would miss him. Eric told her that Jude has her now. She didn’t want him to move, but she understood why he was leaving. Stefan lied to Gabi about EJ helping them out of loyalty. Gabi knew there was more to it than that. Stefan read EJ’s text about Rafe being on the case. He assured her that she would be getting out of prison soon. Rafe told Melinda that Stefan convinced EJ to give her the immunity. Melinda was skeptical, but she agreed to give him the book. She would do it after the deal was finalized. Abe left Chanel’s room as Johnny returned. Chanel told him that Abe tried to defend Paulina. She knew he would always stand by Paulina’s side. Johnny said he would be by her side too. She told him they could make their flight so he could pursue his dream. His dream was being with her. Melinda arrived at the DiMera mansion to thank him for the immunity deal. Now there’s nothing he could do when she tells Nicole that he’s not Jude’s father. EJ wondered why she would do that. She said she would do it out of spite. Melinda told him that he took her job and destroy her life without a second thought. She’s going to do the same thing to him. Nicole walked in the room and wondered what was going on.

EJ let Stefan know that he couldn’t get Gabi out of prison. Stefan went off and reminded him about their deal. EJ told him that he only had photos of Clyde’s book. The judge needed physical evidence or Gabi wouldn’t get out of prison. Alex told Brady that he and Theresa were engaged. Brady wished them luck but thought they were moving too fast. Alex was going to propose to him sooner, but he wanted to make sure he was ready to commit to a recovering addict. He also had to work through his trust issues. Alex felt like he could trust Theresa, but Brady wondered if he could. He wondered if she was after him for his money. Theresa panicked when she heard Sarah tell Bonnie that Xander’s aunt gave him the address for his mother’s place. Theresa didn’t think it was her current address. Sarah was going to send an invitation to her and see what happens. Theresa told her that she couldn’t do that. She came up with reasons why Sarah shouldn’t invite his mother to the wedding. Sarah and Bonnie shot down every reason Theresa had. Theresa offered to help Sarah and Bonnie with the invitation. EJ reminded Stefan that Melinda was holding Clyde’s book, and he couldn’t find her. Stefan wanted him to give Melinda immunity for taking Nicole’s baby in exchange for the book. EJ let him know that Nicole wouldn’t understand that. Stefan didn’t care. He wanted Gabi out of prison or else he would tell Nicole the truth.

Nicole and Xander were at the paper. They talked about baby switching which led them to talk about their own situations. Nicole continued to talk about the things he did wrong. They agreed to disagree, and he told her that Sarah got him to invite his mother to the wedding. Brady told Alex that Theresa made it a habit to go after rich men’s money. Alex reminded him that Theresa was interested in him before his inheritance. Brady remembered Theresa getting Victor’s briefcase before they did. He thought she might have broken into it and saw the documents. Alex was sure their meeting wasn’t premeditated. Sarah let Bonnie know that they could talk about a double wedding another time. Bonnie talked to Theresa about the prom. Theresa ranted about Holly and Sarah defended her niece. Theresa eased up on Holly and talked about being hooked on drugs when she was a kid. While they were talking, Theresa managed to swipe Fiona’s invitation. Alex didn’t want Brady to mention his theory again especially in front of Theresa. Theresa walked in while they were talking. Bonnie knocked over a trash can and noticed Fiona’s invitation. She thought Theresa got into Sarah’s head and decided to mail the invitation herself. EJ called Rafe and told him that he had to find Melinda if he wanted Gabi back home. Stefan was at the prison and waited until Gabi arrived.

Kate let Lucas know that Harris left town. Lucas said he wanted to thank Harris for getting him out of prison. Kate said it took Harris long enough to get him out. She said she was glad to have her son back. Lucas told her not for long. Chad told Julie that Clyde was shipped to maximum security. When Jack came in, he asked why Chad went to see Clyde. He said he hoped Chad wasn’t trying to get revenge. Chad said he did, but he couldn’t pull the trigger. Jack was happy to hear that. When Jack was about to leave, Julie stopped him. Abe showed Paulina an article about the failed attempt to recall her as mayor. Paulina was upset that she had to reinstate EJ in order for him to drop it. She said she felt bad for Melinda. Since Melinda turned down the job as head of sanitation, she had to find someone. Abe offered to do it. Paulina said she would love working with him, but she didn’t want to be his boss. He understood and said he would look for something else. Dr. Greene met with Chanel and Johnny in an exam room at the hospital. He said the baby appeared to be developing normally, but saw soft markers that could indicate a congenital abnormality. Dr. Greene suggested they see a genetic counselor in Los Angeles for more tests.

While Leo was waiting to see his mother in prison, he looked over his notes. When Diana came in the room, she tried to take his notes from him. She made fun of him for getting therapy and wondered why he needed it. Leo said it was because of her. He told her she was a bad mother. Diana wasn’t interested in his childhood trauma. When she called out for the guard, Leo read from his notes. He said she shouldn’t have been a mother. Diana took his notes and ripped them. Lucas told Kate he was going to Phoenix to be with Will and Allie. He said he had to make amends for what he did to Sami. Kate blamed herself for what happened with him and Philip. She wondered if they inherited her madness. He said he would be back. Julie gave Jack the box to see if Jennifer could open it. When Jack left, Julie told Chad she wasn’t going to tell Jack anything. Chad said he hoped he’d have good news for Jack before he left. He wondered if they will ever find out. Since Chad wasn’t able to talk to Clyde, he and Julie had to figure out who the mystery woman was without him. Diana told Leo she wasn’t to blame for his lifestyle. She said it wasn’t her fault he was the way he was. Leo asked what she meant by that. He asked if she was talking about him being gay. Diana said he didn’t have any friends and was unlovable. She said his therapy session were a waste of time. He said he came there to make himself feel better. Leo told her about his father hitting him. He said when he begged her to do something, she told him to suck it up and be a man. Leo said when he killed his father to protect her, she blamed him. He said she had one job to do and she didn’t do it. When Leo asked if she was going to say anything, she said she was at a loss for words. She told him not to visit again. Leo said he wouldn’t visit her again. Lucas went to the Horton House to say goodbye to Chad and Julie. He asked Chad about the video he saw. Chad said it could be proof Abby was still alive. After Lucas watched the video, he said Clyde was playing mind games. When Johnny and Chanel went to see Paulina, they told her about the doctor’s appointment. While they were talking, Chanel doubled over in pain.

Brady talked to Marlena about what happened between Tate and Holly during the prom. He agreed with Theresa about what happened. Marlena wondered if he agreed with her because she was right or because of his feelings for her. Brady assured her that they were co-parents. He did admit that they had a moment together. Brady said that Theresa wants to be with Alex. She wondered what he wanted. He wasn’t concerned about his feelings. Marlena assured him that she would be there for him and left for the hospital. Alex talked to Bonnie about getting engaged to Theresa. She wondered if he talked to Justin about it. He let her know that he didn’t because of the way he reacted towards her. Bonnie told him that Theresa was manipulating him. Theresa overheard Bonnie and glared at her. Johnny and Paulina brought Chanel to the hospital. Chanel was cramping in the elevator. Mark took them to an examination room. He wanted Paulina to wait outside. She reluctantly left. Chanel let Johnny know that she was scared. Johnny tried to comfort her. Marlena ran into Leo at the hospital. She agreed to see him. He told her about his horrible meeting with his mother. Marlena told him that he’s not a dependent child so he shouldn’t give his mother power over him. He could do anything he liked. Leo was happy with their session and wondered if the doctor (Mark) was worth checking out. Theresa wondered why it was okay for Bonnie to talk about her behind her back. Bonnie said she talked about things she would say to her face. Alex assured Theresa that he trusted her, and he was committed to making a life with her. Theresa wondered why Bonnie made a 180. Bonnie said Justin’s concerns were why she was concerned. She changed the subject to talk about Xander and Sarah’s wedding. Bonnie let it slip that Xander’s mother might be at the wedding. Theresa’s panicked at the idea of her being at the wedding. She didn’t think it was a good idea since she’s an alcoholic. Bonnie thought she might have changed liked her. Alex wondered why Theresa was so worried about it.

Mark performed an ultrasound on Chanel. He gave her Felicity’s stuffed animal to hold. After the ultrasound, Mark told Chanel and Johnny that she had a miscarriage. Johnny and Chanel were heartbroken and confused since he told them the baby was fine. Mark said a spontaneous loss could happen for any reason and it’s not unusual. He said one in four pregnancies end in miscarriage. Mark apologized for their loss. Johnny started crying as he comforted Chanel. Leo told Marlena about his conversation with Mark. She reminded him that they just met. Marlena didn’t want him to read too much into since they just met. She didn’t want him to get hurt. Theresa told everyone they needed to be wary of long-lost family members showing up after what happened with Konstantin. Bonnie said they couldn’t find Xander’s mother so there was nothing to worry about. Paulina went to Chanel’s room while she was crying in Johnny’s arms. Johnny told her that they lost the baby. Chanel blamed Paulina for their loss. Johnny glared at her.

Marlena talked to Eric about John feeling guilty about Konstantin’s daughter. She said John went to Konstantin’s daughter’s grave to relieve the guilt he was feeling. Brady and Theresa went in Tate and Holly’s room at the Salem Inn. Theresa said she knew they would be having sex. Tate said they were there so they could be alone. Theresa yelled at Tate for lying to them. Alex pulled out a ring box. He talked to Victor’s portrait. While talking to the portrait, he told Victor that he knows he wouldn’t approve of Theresa, but he hoped he would be happy for him. When Maggie walked in, Alex asked how she was doing. Alex said he didn’t blame her for Konstantin. He said he wished she trusted him when she came up with her plan. Maggie said it had been a long time since they were on the same side. He said it was time to change. Harris told Ava that he was leaving Salem. Ava said she didn’t think they were going to have a future after everything she’s done, but he didn’t have to leave Salem. Harris said he wasn’t leaving because of her. He said Hope had a lead on Megan and asked him to follow up because she couldn’t leave Bo’s side. Since he didn’t know how long it would take him to find Megan he didn’t expect Ava to wait for him. Ava asked him if he wanted her to wait. Harris said he didn’t approve of what she’s done, but he understood why she did it. He said she meant a lot to him but he couldn’t get past his trust issues. Ava said she understood.

EJ told Nicole that he saw her kiss Eric when she was drunk. He said he told her now because he didn’t want there to be any secrets between them. Even though he loves her, he’s afraid he’s going to lose her. Nicole told him he’s the only one she loves. Their son is a product of their love. While they were talking, Theresa came in with Holly. Brady brought Tate home. Tate told Marlena and Eric what happened. Marlena said she thought his parents did what they thought was best. Tate wanted Eric to support him. Eric said it was a tough decision. Tate said he wanted help with Theresa, but Marlena reminded him that she’s his mother. She said if he and Holly wanted to be accepted as a couple, they had to prove they could be trusted. Alex told Maggie that they were family and that Victor wouldn’t want them to be fighting. He said her telling him to live up to Victor’s legacy and make him proud stuck with him. Alex asked if they could bury the hatchet for Victor’s sake. Maggie said they already did. Harris told Ava that he was taking a leave of absence from the police force. Ava said she didn’t know how to say goodbye. Harris said he didn’t know how to either. Theresa told Nicole and EJ that Holly and Tate were hooking up at the Salem Inn. Nicole and Theresa ended up arguing with each other. When Jude started crying, EJ threw Theresa to leave. When EJ came back, Holly told them what happened with Tate. Holly said Nicole should understand what it’s like to have feelings for someone everyone thinks is wrong for you. When Theresa went home, Alex proposed to her. She accepted his proposal.

At the hospital, Steve was on the phone with Tripp. Justin came in his room because Kayla said he might need a lawyer. Kayla went to the pub and talked to Roman about Steve and Ava. When Kayla said she wanted Ava to stay gone, Ava showed up and said she was in China. She said she wanted to tell Tripp and Wendy that Clyde was no longer a threat. Kayla said she hired a lawyer for Steve. She said she hoped Ava had a plan of her own. Theresa told Brady that Sophia was upset that Holly betrayed her. Brady said Sophia looked fine and suggested she stay out of their business. Theresa wanted to bust Tate and Holly together. Tate showed up and said he wasn’t feeling well and wanted to go home. When Tate left to get some air, Theresa told Brady she was right. At the prom, Aaron tried to talk to Sophia, but she didn’t want to talk to him. Sophia told Holly that she knew about her and Tate. She yelled at Holly for lying to her and making her look like a fool. When Holly tried to explain, Sophia said she was too hurt. Sophia told her to be with Tate and she wouldn’t say anything. Holly apologized and left. Kayla asked Ava what was next for her with Tripp gone. She asked if it was bad memories or her husband. Ava refused to answer her. When Kayla left, Ava said she came back to Salem to find out where she stood with Harris. Roman said Harris hasn’t come back from Montana yet. Ava said she shouldn’t return if Harris didn’t.

Steve told Justin that he broke Clyde out of prison. Justin said Clyde hasn’t said anything yet. Steve said he wasn’t going to wait until Clyde said anything, so he was turning himself in. Justin said he could get a deal with time served. He asked Steve if somebody else was involved in the prison break. Steve said he did it all. Theresa and Brady went to the Town Square to look for Tate and Holly. She was worried that Holly was using drugs with Tate. Brady said their son didn’t do drugs. He said Tate was probably somewhere with Holly so they could hook up. Holly met Tate at the Salem Inn. The room was decorated. Holly loved the room but was nervous. Tate told her there was no pressure. He didn’t want anyone to see them. She told him Sophia knew the truth and was upset. They felt bad but hoped that Sophia would hook up with Aaron. When Justin left Steve’s room, Kayla showed up. He told her about turning himself in. She said she didn’t want to lose him to prison but living in fear wasn’t any better. Kayla didn’t like how he protected Ava, but she shouldn’t get away with what she did. While Justin was at the Kiriakis mansion, Alex came in. Justin said he was worried about Alex going after Konstantin and Theresa. Alex said he was okay, but realized Theresa was the one. Justin told him about Brady’s history with her. He said he was concerned as any father would be. Alex said he wasn’t his father. He said even if Justin was his father, he was an adult, so his relationship was none of his business. Justin said he would stay out of his business and left. Aaron asked Sophia if she wanted him to take her home, but she was still upset. He apologized for his part in the lie, but Tate was his friend. Aaron said he was hoping they would spend time together. He said he knew she was upset, but thought it was cool that she didn’t say anything about Tate and Holly. While Tate and Holly were spending time together at the Salem Inn, Theresa and Brady walked in.

Theresa talked to Victor’s portrait about how she couldn’t be with Brady. It’s always disastrous when they were together. She felt like she would be better with Alex. Theresa apologized out loud about making Alex Victor’s son instead of Xander. Bonnie walked in while she was talking to the portrait. She wanted to know how she screwed Xander over. Theresa told her about Xander shooting Konstantin and ran out of the room. Bonnie was suspicious of what she said. Leo was walking in the town square and ran into Theresa. They introduced themselves. He wanted an interview with Theresa about Konstantin, but she refused to give it to him. She got annoyed with him. Leo wondered why Konstantin took her hostage and said there was an enemy among the Kiriakis’ midst. Theresa was about to leave when Leo asked her about Alex. He wondered if she had any tips on how to get a fortune. They joke for a few minutes until she tells him that she’s not with Alex for the money. Maggie woke up and was horrified by what happened with Konstantin. She hoped that he was in prison. Sarah told her that Konstantin was dead. Maggie wanted to know what happened. Xander walked in and said he happened. He told her what happened in the backyard. She wondered if Konstantin was really gone. He told her everything else and she realized Xander didn’t have a choice but to do what he did. Xander said he had a choice. He killed him out of rage for everything that Konstantin did. Xander didn’t have to shoot or shoot to kill, but he did. He knew she cared about him once. Maggie let him know that she despised him. She wished she were the one who killed Konstantin. Thankfully he wasn’t charged for what happened. She thanked him for always being there for her. Maggie apologized for the way Victor treated him. She thought he treated him the way he did because he reminded him of himself. Maggie said he was closer to Victor than his sons.

Bonnie and Sarah talked about Maggie and Konstantin. They shifted gears and talked about Sarah’s search for Xander’s mother. Sarah didn’t hear from her. Her phone rang and she thought it was Xander’s mother. The woman who called had the number for years, but wasn’t his mother. Chad and Julie talked about whether Abby was really alive. He wanted answers immediately. She reminded him that it’s Juneteenth. Chad called a bank manager to see if they could get in when they got a surprise. Jack showed up when they were about to leave. He wanted to feel closer to Abby since it’s the anniversary of Abby’s death. Jack wanted to make sure Clyde never got out of prison. He wondered if Clyde said anything about Abby. Chad felt awkward and Jack realized that he and Julie were hiding something from him. Jack overheard them talking about a box and keeping something from him and Jennifer. Julie showed him the time capsule and tried to distract him with the kids. Chad wanted to get to Chicago and didn’t know how to explain it to Jack. Jack came downstairs and got upset that he found out about Abby being alive through Thomas. He knew what Chad meant and felt Abby’s presence.
