Rachel was disappointed after opening her gifts. Kristen wondered what happened. She told her mother that she didn’t get everything that she wanted. Rachel wanted her parents back together and blamed Kristen for why it didn’t happen. Kristen knew that she was wrong to blackmail Brady over the serum for Sarah, and she didn’t get him back anyway. Rachel knew that he wanted to be with Ava now. She admitted that she overheard her mother talking to Stefano’s portrait about getting rid of Ava. Rachel wondered if he gave her any good ideas. Brady arrived with flowers from Susan and not from John the way Marlena thought. Marlena talked about missing John. Brady gave her a locket that belonged to Isabella. He knew his mother would want her to have it. The locket had a picture of Marlena, John, Brady, and Belle. Marlena choked up after seeing it. He questioned her about his father’s case. Shane told her that the case was a global security matter. She knew he would be back, but she wanted to talk to him. Brady understood because Kristen wouldn’t let him see Rachel because he didn’t want to be with her. He felt like him seeing Ava didn’t help the situation. Kayla asked Roman to be Santa for the children at the hospital. He wasn’t ready to do it after what happened last year. Steve stole the suit from him when he was supposed to be Santa. Kayla reminded him that Stefano was the one who did it. They agreed not to talk about Stefano on Christmas. Steve was working on John’s case when Ava arrived at the pub. She wanted him to find the person who was sending her harassing texts. Steve didn’t think the warning to stay away from Brady a threat. Ava thought they were from Kristen. She asked him to check it out. Rachel wondered if Stefano told her to lock Ava in the secret room. Lani arrived so her question went unanswered. Kristen was excited to see her. She couldn’t believe how grown up Rachel was. Rachel excused herself. The women talked about Kristen not letting Brady see Rachel while she’s with Ava. Lani informed her that her decision wasn’t about Brady. It’s about Rachel. Lani asked her if she deserved to see her father for Christmas. Lani left when Rachel came back. Kristen had a surprise for her.

Marlena talked to Brady about his attraction to dangerous women. He understood, but he didn’t do it on purpose. She didn’t want to see him get hurt. It was too early for that. He talked to her about the texts Kristen was sending to Ava. His phone rang, and it was Kristen. Kristen invited him to spend Christmas with Rachel. Later, Brady arrived at the DiMera mansion with gifts for Rachel. Roman got hot at the hospital while he was dressed as Santa. He had trouble breathing and had a pain going down his arm. Kayla examined her brother. He wanted to know if he was having a heart attack. She informed him that he had an allergic reaction to the Santa suit. He couldn’t play Santa, but Kayla had an idea who could do the part. Kayla ended up asking Abe to dress up as Santa. Paulina read the Christmas Story to the children at the hospital. Marlena reached out to Shane and asked to talk to John. He denied her request. She talked to Sami, and Carrie called. Sami seemed to get upset that Carrie called while they were talking. Marlena assured her that it wasn’t a competition between them. After her conversation, Marlena received a package. It was a box of strawberries and cream with a note from John. Steve used an app to pinpoint the location of the burner phone texting Ava. The locator revealed the texts were coming from the DiMera mansion. Kristen made a comment about Ava which made Brady think she was sending the texts to Ava. She assured him that she wasn’t the one sending the texts. Rachel was in the foyer and send Ava a threatening text to stay away from Brady. She had a menacing smile on her face.

At the town square, Jack, Jennifer, and JJ talked about Doug III and why Jennifer didn’t trust him. Jennifer talked about Doug III being in jail. Jack said it wasn’t for something major, but JJ thought he could be dangerous. Julie walked in on Doug III talking to Leo on the phone about needing money. She asked him about needing money. Doug said he asked his father for money because he didn’t have a job and needed money to pay her rent. She told him not to worry about it because he would always have a place in her home and told him he could be a part of the Horton tradition. Shawn visited Victor in the mausoleum and then went to see Maggie. They talked about Victor. While they were talking, Konstantin came up. Maggie questioned if she should keep Victor’s portrait since Konstantin gave it to her. Shawn said he was gone, but the love she had with Victor would last forever.

Julie told Doug about the Horton ornaments and told him about the family tradition. She told him about Doug and how he would be happy that he was there with her. Doug said he felt like his grandfather was there in spirit. When Jack, Jennifer, and JJ showed up, Julie apologized to Doug for not having an ornament for him. She said she would have one for him next year. Doug said he wasn’t family, but Julie said he was. JJ said he wanted to know why Doug was in jail. Julie thought JJ was being rude, but he thought it was a fair question since Doug was staying there. Doug said he understood and said he wasn’t close to his father so he wanted to meet his family. He said when he heard about his Doug passing away, he got in a fight and got arrested with no money. Doug suggested they call the Chicago PD to confirm his story, but Julie didn’t think it was necessary. Later on, Shawn showed up at the Horton House. He suggested that he and JJ could be partners since Jada offered him a job on the force. JJ said he was weighing his options. Maggie, Sarah, Xander, and Victoria showed up at the house. Holly showed up at the house. She and Doug gave each other looks. Julie told everyone that she was grateful to have them. Everyone put the ornaments on the tree. Julie wanted Doug to put his grandfather’s ornament on the tree. When they were finished, Xander apologized to Jack for not getting the answers he wanted about Abby. While they were talking, they talked about the Spectator. They wished each other a Merry Christmas. Everyone started singing Christmas carols. When they were alone, JJ asked Jack and Jennifer what they thought of Doug’s story. Jack thought the story was plausible, but Jennifer didn’t trust him. JJ said he would keep an eye on Doug when they went back to Boston. He let them know that he decided to take the job on the force. Julie thought about her first Christmas with Doug. After the flashback she wished him a Merry Christmas.

Stephanie arrived at her parents’ house with Christmas presents. She talked to Kayla about Alex having a fling with Joy. Stephanie wasn’t happy about them being together. She thought she should be okay with it since she kissed Philip. Kayla was surprised to hear that news, but her daughter assured her that she wasn’t getting back together with Philip. It was just one kiss that didn’t mean anything. Kayla wanted her to remember why their relationship didn’t work the first time. Philip didn’t protect her during the DiMera and Kiriakis feud, and she almost got killed over it. Stephanie assured her that she wouldn’t get back together with Philip. Alex ran into Philip in the town square. He sarcastically congratulated him on getting half of Titan. Philip knew about the letter he wrote on Xander’s behalf and that it was thrown out of court. Alex thought the decision was the best one and hoped he and Xander could work together. He hoped he and Philp could get along. Philip wasn’t sure because he kissed Stephanie. Alex tried to hide his disgust, but he told him that he was good. Stephanie could date anyone she wanted. Philip said they weren’t dating yet, but she seemed like she wanted to after they kissed. With disdain in his voice, Alex wished them the best. Paulina congratulated Jada for bringing Hattie in. Jada admitted that Rafe found her first, and she got a lawyer before they could question her about the poisoned cupcakes. Paulina demanded that she control Rafe. Jada wasn’t comfortable with her demand. Paulina wanted her to offer Rafe more money to come back to the force. Jada told her that he wasn’t about the money because he loved his new job. Paulina warned her to get to the bottom of the cupcake mystery because she didn’t want to make another commissioner change.

EJ opened the door to a man he thought was Rafe. The man walked in the mansion wearing casual clothes and dog tags. He helped himself to a drink. EJ was upset about his behavior. The man let him know that he wasn’t Rafe. He told him that he was Arnold Feniger, and he ran out of money while he was in Argentina. He was back to get more money from EJ. They talked about EJ paying him a lot of money to break up Rafe and Sami. Arnold went rogue during their plan. EJ and Stefano had Arnold stabbed in a holding cell to keep him from testifying against them. They decided to spare his life in case they needed him one day. Arnold informed him that he was at his service. EJ didn’t want him there. There’s a flashback of an inmate calling a guard about Arnold getting stabbed. The guard couldn’t find a pulse and left to get the warden. Arnold opened his eyes. The inmate told him that he would be shipped out of there thanks to the DiMeras. Rafe met with Steve at the pub. Steve congratulated him for finding Hattie especially since the police couldn’t do it. Rafe was glad that he was happy about it, but Jada didn’t like it. He had a feeling it will cause a rift between him and Jada and wondered if it was a good idea for him to keep working for Black Patch. Steve reminded him that he needed a job. He also told him that he needed him. Rafe wouldn’t leave him in a lurch with John on a big mission. He decided not to leave because he loved the job. Later, Rafe and Jada arrived at home. They apologized to each other about Hattie. Rafe and Jada agreed to figure things out together. They professed their love for each other. Johnny arrived at the DiMera mansion and wondered why “Rafe” was there. EJ lied about hiring him for a case he couldn’t discuss. Arnold playfully poked at EJ so Johnny called it a Christmas miracle. Johnny left them alone. EJ agreed to give Arnold more money and wanted him to go back to Argentina. He wasn’t allowed to come back to Salem. Arnold felt like he would find him useful. He had a mind of his own and wouldn’t be pushed around. Arnold decided to stay in Salem for a while.

Brady talked to Belle about his date with Ava. Belle thought something was trying to work against them. Brady thought someone was trying to work against them. He thought it was Kristen but couldn’t prove it. While they were talking, Ava showed up and said Kristen was after them. She showed them the texts she got. Brady thought it was Kristen and left to confront her. When Brady left, Belle asked Ava if she had fun on the date. Ava said she did and would do it again even if Kristen got upset about it. She said she wasn’t scared of Kristen and that she and Brady weren’t over. Belle said Kristen didn’t get the memo. Ava wondered if Belle had a problem with Kristen or her. Belle said she didn’t blame her for her actions because she wasn’t in her right mind. She said she was concerned about Kristen because she’s dangerous. Belle asked if Ava knew what she was getting herself into to which Ava said she could handle Kristen. EJ talked to Kristen that Belle messed up his case against Mark. He said Mark was going to pay for what he did to Chad but now he would be lucky if he spent the whole 18 months in prison. He said he wasn’t going to let Belle get away with what she did and Kristen was going to help him. EJ said Kristen could fire Belle since she’s around Philip and could be giving him DiMera secrets. Kristen wasn’t convinced to go along with his idea. While they were talking, Brady came in and accused her of sending Ava the texts. Kristen denied sending the texts. She told him fate was the reason why his date was a disaster. Brady said he knew what she was doing and it was going to push him away. EJ interrupted Brady and told him to tell Belle to stay away from his case. When Brady left, EJ told Kristen she should have written something more threatening.

Jada and Gabi talked about Christmas gifts. While they were talking, Shawn called Jada to let her know Hattie got away. Jada thought Hattie found out they were on to her or Rafe found her first. Jada was upset at the idea of Rafe getting to Hattie first. Gabi wondered why it mattered who found her first. Jada said it would ruin her case. While they were talking, Jada asked Gabi where she was going. Gabi said she was going out for drinks with JJ. She said it wasn’t a date to which Jada said it sounded like one to her. JJ showed up and said he was there for their date. When Gabi left to get her things, Jada told JJ that she heard about him. She asked if he was going to stay in town and offered him a job on the force. Before he could answer her, Gabi came back and the two left for their date. Rafe called Jada and told her Hattie was found. Jada figured he found her. Rafe brought Hattie to his room. Leo told Hattie they needed to talk about Body and Soul. Hattie was willing to talk about it. She wanted to talk about bringing her character back to life. Leo was surprised that she thought she was coming back to the show. Rafe said he told her she was being brought back to the show. Leo let her know that she wasn’t coming back to the show and called her Lady Whistleblower. Hattie didn’t know what he was talking about. She said she didn’t hack into his computer and denied being Lady Whistleblower. Hattie said she wasn’t going to get revenge on the show. The only thing she did was put a curse on it. Rafe placed her under citizen’s arrest for poisoning everyone associated with the show. Hattie was shocked at the accusation and denied doing it. Rafe told her to tell her story to the police. He brought her to the police station. When Jada saw her, she told Rafe that Shawn had a lead and could have made an arrest if it weren’t for him. Rafe said she could question Hattie and wanted her to tell Paulina that he found Hattie. While Leo was upset that Hattie was Lady Whistleblower, he got a text letting him know it wasn’t Hattie. When Jada started asking Hattie questions, Belle showed up and said she was her lawyer. Jada went outside of the interrogation room. Rafe decided to get Jada some coffee as a peace offering but it didn’t go over well. Jada was upset because she would have been able to question Hattie if Shawn got to arrest her. Brady told Ava that Kristen denied sending the texts. Ava questioned if it was really Kristen. She said Kristen was never subtle and always said what she wanted. While they were talking, Ava got another text warning her to stay away from Brady. Kristen told EJ that she didn’t send the texts to Ava.

Doug III went to Leo’s place asking for his help to sell the necklace. Leo wondered if the necklace was real. He was impressed by what he saw. Doug demanded that he sell the necklace for him. Leo wondered who he was. He wondered if Steven sent him to meet him. Leo remembered Steven was accused of stealing the necklace. Doug III admitted that he was the one who did it. He didn’t want to take it from his grandfather’s wife. Leo was shocked when he realized who he was because he didn’t know anything about him. He asked Doug III why he took the necklace. Doug III was desperate because he owes someone money. The person was there to collect. His initial reason for being there was to pay respects to his grandfather, but he saw the necklace as an opportunity to bail himself out of his mess. He wasn’t proud of what he did because the Hortons were nice to him, but he needed it more than they did. His goal was to get rid of the necklace and start over. He wanted Leo’s help to do it. Leo didn’t do that anymore. He told Doug III to leave the necklace with him. Since he didn’t have any other options, he agreed to leave the necklace with Leo. Jennifer and Julie talked about Doug III. She wondered how long he planned on staying. Jennifer started asking questions about his personal life. She was worried that he was taking advantage of Julie. Jennifer said that Hope didn’t trust him, and she promised to watch him as well as look out for her. She broke down the things that made him seem suspicious. Julie let her know that Hope called his father and confirmed his story. She wondered if Jennifer had an issue because Doug III went to jail. Jennifer was shocked to know that. Julie didn’t know why he went to jail because she didn’t ask him. She thought he might have taken the necklace based on his past. Julie didn’t believe that Doug took the necklace. She met him after the necklace was missing. Julie felt like Doug III was innocent and wanted her to leave her alone.

After getting off the phone with Holly, Tate answered the door. Sophia barged in with news that he didn’t expect to hear. She announced that she was pregnant. Tate was shocked, but he asked if she was sure. After taking three tests, she was positive she was pregnant. Tate reminded her that they used a condom. Sophia informed him that condoms weren’t 100 percent effective. Tate approached her about having an abortion. He was willing to drive her to the doctor. Sophia didn’t want to do it, but she didn’t have a choice. She listed why she couldn’t have the baby. Sophia’s parents wouldn’t approve of her situation. Tate suggested going out of town to get it. She told him that it was too expensive. Tate reassured her that her parents wouldn’t find out anything. He would do what he could to help her. Sophia asked him about Holly, and Tate got quiet. He didn’t want her to find out about the baby, and she promised not to say anything. They wondered how they would get through that without anyone finding out. She was about to leave when Tate promised to take care of her.

When Chad got home, he told Jack and Jennifer about Clyde being in a coma and not finding out what happened to Abby’s remains. Jack and Jennifer didn’t like hearing what happened and realized they would never know what happened to Abby. They let Chad know that he didn’t disappoint Abby. Jennifer said that Abby was with her family. She went to get the Alice’s time capsule so they could fill it with memories of Abby. They put things that meant something to Abby in the time capsule. Chad put his wedding band in the time capsule. JJ took Gabi home and thanked her for her help. He said he owed her a lot. She wondered what he had in mind. He said he wasn’t sure and called her a hero. She said it wasn’t an altruistic gesture since she wanted to make Clyde pay for what he did to her. When she said she was glad Clyde was shot, she apologized for what she said. JJ told her she didn’t have to be sorry. He said what happened with Clyde set them back and has learned to accept that Abby was gone. Gabi said she understood because her sister died, but she was able to visit her grave. He said he couldn’t imagine going to his parents and telling them they didn’t find out anything. While they talking, he told her he was staying in Salem to be with his family. Before he left, they agreed to get a drink sometime. At the town square, Cat and Aaron talked about their mother. Cat told Aaron that their mother had a fight on her hands, Aaron said what their mother did wasn’t her fault so they had to let her go. He thought Mark should be let go too. They hoped their mother being brainwashed would help her get off and understood that it would be a long battle. Felicity showed up and asked Cat was really their sister. Cat told her she had plastic surgery. When they talked about old times, Felicity realized she was her sister. She asked Cat about their mother. Cat said she couldn’t see them. Aaron said they could see her.

EJ went to the interrogation room and offered Mark a plea deal. He told Mark to sign it immediately. EJ told him the guilty plea would give him a reduced sentence of 10 instead of 25. Mark didn’t like the deal, but EJ said he was getting off easy considering he tried to kill his brother. Mark said Clyde made him do it, but EJ didn’t care why he did it. He said Mark wasn’t getting away with trying to kill a DiMera and ordered him to sign the deal. Mark asked what would happen to his sibling since he was their legal guardian. EJ said he didn’t have a choice. Before Mark could sign the deal, Belle walked in and told him not to sign it. Belle told EJ that she wasn’t going to let him manipulate Mark into signing anything. They got into an argument. EJ reminded her that she worked for the DiMeras in Hong Kong to which she said she was a consultant. Belle said she could take any case she wanted to. She said Tate asked her to take the case. Belle said Clyde forced Mark to do what he said. When EJ didn’t care about Mark’s reasoning, Belle told him the alleged crime happened in Paris to which he had no jurisdiction to try the case. EJ reminded her that the crime happened to an American. Belle said he couldn’t use his position to settle a score. Mark said he didn’t mean to hurt anyone. Belle wanted him to stop talking and let her handle it. EJ said he was going to use Mark tampering with DNA as part of his list of crimes. Belle reminded him that everyone, including Sami, tampered with DNA. EJ and Belle continued to negotiate Mark’s case. When Mark left, EJ told Belle he would prosecute Mark if he didn’t adhere to the terms of the plea. While they were talking, he brought up her being married. She let him know that she was divorced.

JJ arrived at the Horton house. Julie gave him the riot act for leaving town with Gabi. He assured her that Gabi risked her life to help him and Chad. Julie loved that fact that he saw the best in people the way Doug did. She didn’t want to talk about the time Gabi tried to kill her. JJ didn’t want her to go down that road again. The cousins started talking about Abby and the time capsule. Doug III walked in while they were talking about the necklace. Julie introduced JJ and Doug III to each other. She told JJ about the stolen necklace. They talked about what could have happened to the necklace while Doug III looked on nervously. He heard them talking about Leo and wanted to know more about him. Doug III suddenly had to leave. JJ wanted to know about the necklace. Julie said that she didn’t call the police because it’s just a necklace. She didn’t want Steven to get in trouble when he’s entitled to it too.

Cat arrived at the graveyard while Chad was talking to Abby’s empty grave. She let him know that Jack and Jennifer told her where to find him. Cat had second thoughts and didn’t want to feel like she was intruding. Chad stopped her and wanted to know if there was information about her mother. She didn’t hear anything, but she would be able to reunite with her sister and brothers. Chad wasn’t happy to hear about Mark, but she assured him that Mark wouldn’t come after him again. Mark would be in prison for a while so she was taking the others to Vancouver to see their mother. Cat was there to say goodbye to him. Chad was happy for her especially after what she’s been through. She appreciated it especially after the way she and Mark hurt him. Cat apologized for everything, and Chad understood. Clyde was the reason why they targeted him. It was an awkward goodbye for her because she wasn’t sure if she would see him again. She left Chad alone. He declared his love for Abby even though he wasn’t sure where she was. Cat went to get Aaron and Felicity so they could see their mother.

When Kate went to see Philip, he told her about switching lawyers. Kate thought it was something that he had his exes working for him. He ignored her comment and asked her to testify for him, but she didn’t think it was a good idea. She said she felt uncomfortable talking about the letter on the stand because she couldn’t trust Vivian not to say anything about the letter. He said Belle wouldn’t ask about the letter. Kate said she wished she didn’t know about the letter and that she was keeping secrets from Roman. She said she would cover for him, but she wouldn’t lie for him in court. At the pub, Shawn told Roman that he was staying in town for a while and was back on the force. Roman was happy for him and said he and Belle were missed. Shawn told him that his marriage was over and Belle left town. While they were talking, Shawn explained what happened between him and Belle. Roman told him about breaking up with Marlena and how it took a while to heal from it, but things worked out the way they should have. After Roman and Shawn were finished talking, Kate showed up and told Roman that Belle was Philip’s lawyer. Roman was surprised that Belle was Philip’s lawyer and thought Kate should try to get along with her. Kate said Belle should leave town. While they were talking, Roman got a call from Vivian. He wondered what she wanted.

At the town house, Brady gave Belle her divorce papers. She wondered if she would see Shawn again since he was leaving town to see Bo. While they were talking, she told Brady that was staying in town to represent Philip. Brady was shocked. She told him why she was representing Philip and asked him to testify against Xander. Brady refused to do it because he and Xander put everything behind them. Also, he worked for Xander. He reminded her that Philip tried to frame him for murder. She said she would subpoena him, but he said it wouldn’t work. She said she would find another way to win. While Justin was in the Kiriakis mansion working on Xander’s case, Maggie came into the room. He asked her to testify for Xander. Justin thought it would be better to have a character witness who knew Victor  since the judge was unpredictable. She said she didn’t want to get in the middle of the case. When Justin tried to convince her to testify, Maggie said Victor never talked to her about things like that. She said Victor wanted Xander to run Titan, but Philip was Victor’s son too. Since it was a legal matter, she didn’t want anything to do with it. Shawn and Belle ran into each other at the town square and found out they weren’t leaving town. They told each other why they were staying in town. She asked if he could be a witness for her. Xander, Sarah, and Justin went to the courtroom. When Justin and Sarah went to get coffee, Philip showed up. Xander said he was giving him a chance to back out of the case because it wasn’t good for Maggie. Philip refused to give up on the case. When Xander left, Belle showed up. Philip told her Kate couldn’t make it to which Belle said Brady couldn’t either. When everyone came back to the courtroom, the judge showed up. The case began. Belle declared Victor’s letter as evidence. She entered Philip’s letter from his doctor as evidence. Philip faking his death was the reason why Victor didn’t leave him the company. She called Shawn to the stand. Shawn testified that Philip was groomed to run Titan and was the perfect choice for the job. He said he was sure Victor would have wanted it that way. Justin asked Shawn if he thought they should forget about Victor’s will to which Shawn said they shouldn’t. When Belle had nothing further, Justin presented the will to the judge and said Victor’s will was clear. He presented a letter from Alex who supported Xander. Belle said Alex should be there to testify so she could cross examine him. Justin said Alex was working on Body and Soul. The judge said that excuse wasn’t good enough and refused the evidence. Justin called Sarah to the stand. Sarah testified that Xander loved his father. She said Philip was gone for most of Victor’s final years and brought up how he laundered Titan’s money with Ava. Belle asked Sarah about Victor keeping Philip as CEO after he found out about the scheme while Xander quit. Sarah said Philip quit and things took a turn for the worst. Belle asked if Sarah loved him and would do anything for Xander. Sarah said she would, but she wouldn’t lie for him. She said her testimony was truthful. Belle asked if she would lie about Xander attempting to kill Brady.

Sarah admitted that she loved Xander, but she wouldn’t lie for him. Belle jumped on the opportunity to trap her by asking if she would lie when it came to Xander trying to kill Brady. Justin objected, but Belle continued to say that Xander belonged in jail. The lawyers wanted to talk to the judge, and she decided they needed a break. She wanted to consider what to do next. Philip was proud of Belle on her hunch about Sarah. He hoped that Sarah wouldn’t get in trouble. Belle believed that Sarah wouldn’t get in trouble. it would force Xander’s hand in the case. Xander told Justin that he apologized to Brady and gave back his job. He thought everything was good between them. Justin warned him that Sarah would have to confirm that he tried to kill Brady, or she had to lie under oath. Sarah realized that Xander had a lot to lose from the case. He could lose his birthright or be sent to prison. Belle continued questioning Sarah. When she asked Sarah about trying to kill Brady she relied on spousal privilege. After Sarah’s stunt, the judge decided to call a recess. Belle let Philip know that they had a good chance of winning the case despite what Sarah did. Philip wasn’t sure how they could win. Belle told him that Sarah refusing to testify against Xander made him look more guilty. Justin tried to reassure Xander that things could have been worse. Belle could have brought up that Xander tried to shoot Philip. Justin asked for the war to end regardless of the outcome. Xander couldn’t make any promises about that. Philip thanked Belle for what she did for him. She told him that she did what Victor wanted. He flashed back to him and Vivian talking about the forged letter. Belle would rather see Philip run Titan than Xander. Xander tried to kill almost everyone in her family. He reminded her that Xander almost killed Sami for Kristen. Belle joked that Xander wasn’t that bad. The judge was ready to make her decision.

The judge believed Xander and Philip’s claims were valid and decided to reward both of them with the company. They agreed that their father would want to see them working together. Johnny congratulated Alex on his scenes. Alex questioned if he was talking about the lie he told Faith to make things good for her. He said he wasn’t acting and was imitating life. Johnny apologized to him for telling Chanel that he slept with Joy. It was the only story he could think of when Chanel walked in the room. Stephanie overheard their conversation and got the wrong idea. She informed Alex that she didn’t need an explanation. Alex wanted to explain everything, but she didn’t want to hear it because they weren’t a couple. To keep Johnny’s secret, he said he slept with Joy in the past. They agreed that the producers should know about it. Stephanie walked away from him. Johnny thanked Alex for keeping his secret. Alex was upset that Stephanie thought he was a player again. Johnny thought Alex cared a lot about Stephanie’s opinion. It was annoying to him that Johnny got to keep his reputation clean while he’s cheating on Chanel. Everyone thinks he’s a player that couldn’t keep it in his pants. They agreed that they wanted everything to blow over soon. Chanel approached Joy about being with Alex. She told Joy that she wasn’t the only one who had to work closely with someone she slept with. Joy talked to Chanel about her situation with Johnny. She made it seem like she was talking about Alex. Joy thought it might be a good idea to stop hanging around her and Johnny. Chanel didn’t want to lose her friendship. After her conversation with Chanel, Joy ran into Stephanie. She wanted Stephanie to help her find a gift for Alex. Stephanie wanted to know if she was dating Alex since she’s the show’s publicist. Joy denied being with Alex. Stehpanie gave her permission to date him. Stephanie ran into Philip and found out the judge’s ruling. She was happy that he got to keep half the company. They hugged each other, and it turned into a kiss. Sarah tried to make Xander feel better about the ruling. She thought it would be a chance for him to get along with Philip. He didn’t see that happening. After Sarah left the room, Xander vowed to get rid of Philip.
