Days of Our Lives Update

Sarah checks on Shawn in his hospital room. Shawn tells her where his pain levels are at as Sarah advises him not to overdo the exercise when he gets out. Sarah then announces he’s being discharged this morning which Shawn calls great news. Shawn says he’ll just have to call Jada, but Sarah reveals she already did.

Chanel joins Johnny in his hospital room as he’s getting dressed and asks if he’s ready to get out of here. Johnny responds that he’s actually not going anywhere.

Tate and Holly sit together at the Kiriakis Mansion. Tate is reading a quiz in his exercise science while Holly complains about him reading out loud while she’s waiting for her exam grade to be posted. Tate encourages her to forget about everything else as he kisses her.

Gabi goes to the Hernandez home where Arianna is annoyed, looking at her phone. Gabi excitedly talks about bringing soup she made for Javi. Arianna tells her that Javi is sleeping, so she’ll put it away for later and tells Gabi she can go.

Jada brings Sophia’s parents to the interrogation room at the police station. Amy mentions Mr. Choi rushing home from a business trip once he heard of Sophia’s disappearance and asks if there’s been any update. Jada informs them that Sophia’s body has not been found which Mr. Choi points out could be a good thing and mean she’s not in the river. Jada reveals that the time window has expired for the case to be a search and rescue, so they are now looking at a search and recovery.

Tate tries to compliment Holly but she can continues to worry about failing her exam. Tate encourages her to relax as she has three years to make up for one bad test. Holly agrees that she needs to stop going crazy over this. Tate suggests they get away for the day and do something to celebrate the first day of summer, like a picnic by the lake but Holly says absolutely not to the lake.

Jada tells Sophia’s parents that she’s sorry but based on everything they have, the search team has determined there is no longer a chance of saving Sophia’s life. Amy questions if they are just going to stop looking. Jada says they will continue but their mission is to recover Sophia so she can be laid to rest. Amy cries that there’s still a chance that Sophia is still out there. Jada questions where Sophia is if she’s out there. Amy argues that Jada hasn’t deployed all resources because she thinks of Sophia as a monster instead of Holly, who pushed her down that path. Mr. Choi tries to calm her down as Amy screams that she will not accept that Sophia is gone.

Chanel asks Johnny what he means and if something happened. Johnny explains that it’s not that he can’t leave, but he won’t leave when she has her biopsy coming up after he already missed her mammogram. Chanel reminds him that he missed that because he almost died. Chanel argues that Johnny needs to rest, so she’s taking him home but Johnny says no way. Johnny points out that she’s always been there for him, so he’s going to make sure she knows they are in this together. Chanel says she appreciates that more than he knows, but it makes no difference since he won’t be allowed in the room during the procedure. Johnny says he’ll be in the waiting room then and insists she’s not getting rid of him that easy as he’s always going to be by her side.

Gabi questions Arianna wanting her to leave and complains about the way she’s talking to her. Gabi demands Arianna treat her with respect. Arianna tells Gabi to treat her with respect and asks if she thinks she can tell her how to act and feel. Arianna believes Gabi brought the soup over just to micromanage her and says she didn’t come to Salem for that. Gabi argues that she just cares about her and her future. Arianna complains that Gabi has no idea how overprotective Will and Sonny were in Arizona. Gabi assures that they were just looking out for her because they love her and she respects them keeping her safe from making bad choices. Gabi asks what Arianna actually thought would be different here and if she thought she could do whatever the hell she wants. Arianna admits that she didn’t think Gabi would pay attention to her because she’s always been all about herself. Arianna tells Gabi that it’s too late for her to be super mom now and declares that she doesn’t need her anymore, so she asks Gabi to just let her go.

Shawn guesses that Sarah is wondering why he’s staying with Jada instead of Belle. Sarah admits that she is because Belle offered first. Shawn says that being there in sickness and in health is no longer part of the job since he and Belle are divorced. Shawn says that he and Belle get along fine, but so do he and Jada. Shawn then brings up how he lied to Jada about the shooting and got caught, so things cooled off pretty quickly after that. Sarah responds that she knows all too well how lies can ruin a seemingly good thing. Shawn remarks that Jada is his boss anyways so it’s probably not a good idea to pursue anything other than friendship with her. Sarah asks if he’s sure about that.

Chanel comments on Johnny being really stubborn but also sweet. Johnny tells her that he loves her more than anything and wants to be there for her. Chanel admits she’s really relieved that she has him here to support her. Chanel adds that she also felt she had to be strong for her mother. Johnny asks what’s going on with Paulina. Chanel says she was going to tell him, but he’s not going to believe what EJ did now.

Holly can’t believe Tate would suggest going to the lake when being by the water would have them thinking about Sophia all day. Tate apologizes for not making that connection. Holly complains that she hasn’t felt the same since getting off Sophia’s anti psychotic meds and feels that nothing seems to be working when she just wants to feel normal again. Tate thinks he knows what might help as he hugs her.

Jada tells Sophia’s parents that she will give them a moment alone. Mr. Choi thanks her for all she has done as he knows none of this is easy. Jada then exits the room. Amy complains that Jada just told them that they are giving up on their daughter and he’s complimenting their efforts. Amy questions if he’s just accepting that Sophia is gone. He responds that he’s in the same terrible pain as her and assures that his heart is broken and he doesn’t want to believe she is gone. Amy doesn’t give a damn what they said and declares that she’s never given up on their daughter, so she won’t now. Amy feels that until they find a body, there’s a chance that Sophia is alive so she will cling to that chance as long as it exists.

Gabi questions Arianna saying she doesn’t need her anymore and remembers Arianna always wanting her attention when she was little. Arianna argues that she was always too busy dealing with whatever. Gabi shouts about going to prison and how much it hurt her to be separated from her. Gabi questions her throwing that in her face. Arianna says she knows Gabi didn’t leave on purpose, but regardless, she wasn’t in her life for a long time and can’t make up for lost time by trying to run her life and keep her from seeing Liam. Gabi calls Liam a felon and a thug, questioning why she’s even interested in him and what is the matter with her. Arianna remarks that she is her mother’s daughter and asks if she’s going to ground her. Gabi argues that she’s still her mother while Arianna responds that Gabi would rather prance around with Philip at the Kiriakis Mansion and maybe she’ll invite her over sometime. Gabi asks if that’s what this is all about and that she doesn’t like her being involved with Philip. Arianna responds that she’s very happy that she found someone to make her happy and that Philip is great, so she questions why Gabi can’t be happy for her. Gabi questions why she would be happy that she’s with Liam and what she could possibly see in him. Arianna argues that Liam is hot, edgy, and has so many layers which Gabi mocks. Gabi advises Arianna to ask herself if she can see herself spending a life with Liam. Gabi says she doesn’t get it, arguing that Arianna could have anyone she wants, and questions why him.

Sarah prepares Chanel for her biopsy.

Shawn is up on his crutches and goes over to Johnny. They talk about both being discharged today and waiting on their rides. Shawn asks about Johnny’s recovery. Johnny calls it just a bump on the head while Shawn says he heard he barely got out alive. Johnny says he won’t feel sorry for himself compared to Shawn being shot in the line of duty. Shawn says they are both walking out alive. Jada arrives and apologizes for being late. Shawn says that he and Johnny were just trading war stories and asks if Jada is okay. Jada responds that she’s not as she just had to break the news to Amy and Jason Choi that their daughter is most likely dead.

Tate tries to guide Holly through breathing exercises but Holly doesn’t want to, so they kiss until Amy Choi walks in and questions if this is how they are mourning Sophia. Amy informs them that police assume Sophia is dead and are now looking for her body. Tate and Holly say they are really sorry. Amy responds that she believes Tate but not Holly after what she did to her. Holly says she can’t imagine Amy’s grief but she is not going to be blamed for the nightmare that Sophia brought on herself. Holly says she’s sad that Sophia went the way she did but admits she’s not sad that Sophia is gone because that means she can’t hurt anyone else ever again.

Jada tells Johnny it must be difficult for him with everything that’s happened as he must have complicated feelings for Sophia. Johnny confirms he does because on one hand, she’s the biological mother of his son but on the other hand there’s everything she’s done. Jada calls it a tragedy that she didn’t get the help she needed. Johnny feels bad for her parents to lose their child like that. Shawn doesn’t think there is any worse kind of pain. Shawn suggests focusing on the positive, pointing out that he and Johnny narrowly escaped death while Johnny has his family and a baby on the way while he has a great friend helping him with his recovery, so they have a lot to be grateful for. Johnny agrees they also have a lot to look forward to as Shawn and Jada exit together.

Sarah checks on Chanel and instructs her to go home and rest, encouraging her to lean on the people in her life. Sarah thinks Paulina would welcome the distraction with everything going on in her life. Chanel asks when they will have the biopsy results. Sarah says it will take a few days. Sarah knows waiting is the worst part and advises her to try to do fun and distracting things while she waits. Sarah reminds Chanel that she is very loved and no matter what, she has the will and strength to take this as it comes. Chanel thanks her and says she will try to remember that.

Arianna questions how many times Gabi is going to ask why Liam. Arianna argues that he’s made mistakes but he’s a genuinely good person and good father who is trying really hard to better himself. Gabi questions how she’s helping him better himself, arguing that she’s been down that road before which can be very disappointing and lonely. Gabi asks what kind of relationship Arianna wants, pointing out that Will and Sonny have a loving marriage, questioning if someone like Liam can provide that for her. Arianna admits that she doesn’t know and gets what she’s saying, but the heart wants what it wants. Gabi acknowledges that she is her mother’s daughter, admitting that she was given a similar lecture at her age and didn’t want to listen either. Gabi states that she took a lot of hits learning from her mistakes, so Arianna tells her to let her learn from her mistakes.

Sarah brings Chanel back to Johnny, who asks how it went. Chanel says it went fine but she will be sore for the next few days and has been instructed to chill out. Johnny asks when they will have the results. Chanel says it will be a few days, so now they wait. Johnny asks Sarah what he can do to take care of Chanel. Chanel argues that Johnny is still recovering himself, so they will take care of each other. Sarah agrees and encourages applying ice and no heavy lifting, so they should accept any help with Trey. Sarah adds that Johnny’s recovery might take longer, so they must take it easy. Chanel thanks her for everything. Sarah tells them to go see their son so they exit the hospital together.

Gabi gives in to letting Arianna learn from her mistakes, but says she doesn’t want her to end up with heart broken like her with Stefan. Arianna points out that she’s over that and is with Philip now, so she can’t still be obsessing over Stefan. Gabi responds that she just learned that things didn’t end the way she thought they did as Philip went to Alamainia to do some digging and it turned out that she and Stefan’s divorce documents were forged, so he never signed them which shocks Arianna. Gabi points out that technically means she’s Stefan’s widow and not his ex-wife, so she’s entitled to inherit some of Stefano’s fortune. Arianna excitedly asks when she gets the money. Gabi says they still need to prove Stefan’s signature was forged which will be an uphill battle. Gabi adds that more important to her is that despite how she and Stefan ended, she now knows that he loved her until the very end, just like she loved him. Gabi wishes she had gotten to tell Stefan one last time.

Jada brings Shawn home and gets him set up in his room. Jada asks if he needs anything else. Shawn thinks getting in and out of the car and in to her place took more out of him than expected. Jada gives Shawn his painkillers. Shawn adds that he might need to go to his place to get some clothes and books but Jada reveals she already got his stuff. Shawn is impressed that she thought of everything. Jada says he’s worth it. Shawn calls it all very sweet of her, but he wants to make sure it’s not too much and that he’s not taking advantage of her generosity. Jada assures it’s not and comments that she wouldn’t mind if he took advantage of her.

Amy questions what Holly just said. Tate tries to intervene but Holly says she needs to say what she’s feeling. Holly apologizes for coming off so harshly but argues that Sophia did things that Amy refuses to even acknowledge. Holly states that Sophia drugged her and tried to ruin her life while Amy remarks that at least she has a life while Sophia does not. Tate points out that no one is certain that Sophia is gone and they’ve all done things they aren’t proud of. Tate suggests apologizing for their mistakes but Holly questions what she did wrong and argues that she had every right to vent on social media. Holly tells Amy that she’s sorry for her loss but Sophia made really bad choices and she is not going to take the blame for it.

Shawn questions Jada saying she wants him to take advantage of her. Jada clarifies that it was just a failed attempt at humor. Shawn says that’s too bad.

Johnny and Chanel sit together at home. Chanel mentions that Lani is bringing Trey home in a little bit but wanted to give them time to settle in. Johnny brings up the biopsy but Chanel wants to pause all that for now. Johnny asks how Paulina is doing with the whole Lexie situation as he can’t imagine what she must be going through. Chanel calls her the strongest person she knows, so if anyone can handle it, it’s her.

Arianna asks if Gabi is okay. Gabi responds that she’s fine and just thinking about Stefan’s death, how she wishes she had more time and that it didn’t end the way it did. Gabi states that life is so uncertain and that she can’t imagine how the Choi family is feeling now. Arianna calls it too sad and awful. Arianna apologizes for being hard on Gabi and admits that what happened to Sophia really messed her up. Gabi understands they were close friends. Arianna mentions bumping in to Amy earlier and she reminded her of when they were little girls together. Gabi remembers their play dates and sleepovers. Gabi admits she still sees her as that little girl and that she doesn’t know what she would do if anything happened to her. Arianna promises nothing is going to happen to her as they hug.

Amy mocks what a saint Holly is, bringing up abusing drugs and lying. Amy reminds Tate of when he was being unjustly prosecuted for Holly’s drug use and calls her a trashy little liar who destroys everyone around her. Amy declares that if Sophia really is gone, she will make sure Holly ends up in prison and will not escape the wrath of God for what she did to her little girl. Sarah walks in and tells Amy that’s enough. Sarah says she’s sorry for her loss and her pain, but it’s time for her to leave. Sarah walks Amy out while Tate hugs Holly as she breaks down crying.

Abe and Theo remain at Lexie’s side in the hospital. Abe still can’t believe Theo knew. Theo is sorry he couldn’t say anything. Abe understands EJ put him in an impossible position. Theo feels he can’t be mad at EJ. Abe responds that he’s not mad because EJ delivered them a miracle and he will always be grateful to him for that.

Gwen goes to the DiMera Mansion and asks EJ for an update on the status of their patient. EJ responds that he has good news and bad news. Gwen asks to start with the good, so EJ reveals to her that Lexie is awake which shocks Gwen, who declares that they’ve changed the world. Gwen asks where he’s keeping Lexie. EJ responds that she’s not in the house, so Gwen questions where she is. EJ tells Gwen that’s the bad news.

At the Brady Pub, Chanel finishes a call with Johnny about him getting discharged from the hospital. Chanel says she’ll be right there and adds that she has to be there for her biopsy anyway. Chanel admits she’s a little nervous but mostly just wants to get it over with. Chanel hangs up as Alex arrives and they greet each other. Alex mentions hearing what happened to Johnny and how scary that was. Chanel says she can’t imagine what could’ve happened so she’s just thankful God protected him. Alex says he’s just happy for them while Chanel says she should say the same to him since she ran in to Joy Wesley and guesses congratulations are in order.

Steve and Kayla walk through the town square. Steve comments that Stephanie seemed good despite having her world rocked again while Kayla feels she’s putting on a brave face. Steve says he’s going to see Stephanie before he heads to work. Kayla says she’ll call him after checking on Lexie. Steve asks if it is definitely her. Kayla says they don’t have the DNA test results yet but it certainly looks like it. Steve jokes that coming back to life is the most DiMera thing Lexie has ever done. Kayla says that Stefano would be thrilled and proud. Steve mentions that he’s sure Abe and Theo must be as well and calls it a miracle. Kayla agrees but wonders what it will mean for Paulina.

Marlena finds Paulina at the hospital and asks if everything is alright. Paulina responds that she doesn’t know how to answer that as she’s waiting for Abe like she’s in some kind of purgatory between life as she knows it and maybe something worse. Marlena asks what she means. Paulina tells her that she won’t believe this but Lexie is alive.

Chanel tells Alex that his little girl is so beautiful. Chanel assumes the news was a big shock which Alex confirms. Chanel brings up that just babysitting Trey was enough to cause an argument about whether Stephanie wanted kids, so she imagines this made it a lot more complicated. Alex says that Stephanie is trying her best to be supportive and they are working on it. Chanel suggests Alex try to get to know his little girl in the mean time since she hears Joy is sticking around Salem. Alex says that is the plan but he’s sure that’s the last thing she and Johnny need right now. Chanel admits it’s not her favorite news but calls it the least of their worries right now.

EJ tells Gwen about Lexie wandering in to the will reading. EJ then informs Gwen that Leo found his way in to the tunnels which prevented Dr. Rolf from intervening.

Paulina tells Marlena that Kayla is running a DNA test to be sure but she’s seen enough pictures to know it’s Lexie. Marlena states that Paulina made a selfless choice in letting the experiment go forward, knowing it would turn her life upside down. Paulina argues that she couldn’t do that to Abe and Theo while Marlena argues that she doesn’t know how this may turn out. Paulina informs her that Abe doesn’t know this, but she was outside of Lexie’s room last night and she heard Lexie tell Abe that she loved him and then she heard Abe say it back.

Kayla joins Abe and Theo in Lexie’s room. Abe asks if there’s any news. Kayla confirms they have the DNA report back and that Lexie’s dental records were located in storage. Kayla reveals they are both a match, so it really is Lexie.

Gwen complains about Leo sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong. EJ explains that Leo was trying to break in to the will reading to get the inside scoop for the Spectator even though the editor of the Spectator was in attendance. Gwen asks what they do now since EJ is the face of this resurrection. EJ says that Lexie’s tests are showing she’s very much healthy and alive which means it was a success and they can proceed to the next step of the plan.

Alex asks Chanel what’s going on and says he hopes everything is alright with her pregnancy. Chanel says that she and Trey are adjusting to living with Abe, Paulina, and Theo as they are there until their kitchen is repaired. Chanel says it’s between that, running the bakery, taking care of an infant while preparing for another and Johnny being in the hospital. Chanel adds that Johnny is getting released from the hospital today. Alex jokes that he would offer to babysit but he bailed halfway through last time. Chanel suggests they could arrange a play date. Chanel comments that Kelsey is lucky to have Alex as a dad. Alex feels he’s the lucky one. Chanel says she will see him soon and exits the Pub.

Theo talks about never doubting it was Lexie as he just felt it. Abe says he felt it too. Theo asks if this means that when she wakes up, she will have all her memories. Kayla thinks she’s living proof that it’s possible and all of Lexie’s tests have come back positive which miraculously means her brain tumor is gone. Abe asks why Lexie is still sleeping and if she’s ever going to wake up again. Kayla says her body has been through a lot so it’s natural to be exhausted but last night was a great sign.

Marlena can’t imagine how difficult it must have been for Paulina to hear Abe say those words to Lexie and says she’s so sorry. Paulina calls it a wonderful gift for Abe and Theo and a true blessing. Paulina says that Lexie is the woman that Abe spent most of his life with and built a family with. Marlena encourages that Abe does love Paulina. Paulina feels it’s different and says she told Theo that God would see them through this, but declares that in her heart she already knows she’s lost Abe.

Alex goes home where Steve arrives. Alex tells him that Stephanie left early for a breakfast meeting with a new client. Steve says he knows as he already talked to her. Steve reveals he came to see Alex and hoped they could have a talk.

Kayla explains that they don’t know the nature of the pods or the medication that Lexie was on as EJ hasn’t been forthcoming and they haven’t been able to track down Dr. Rolf. Abe says they all know EJ won’t give away his secrets for free. Theo asks if that complicates her recovery. Kayla encourages that Lexie’s vitals are strong and her brain activity is great, so she’s very optimistic that Lexie is back.

Chanel goes to the hospital and sees Paulina, who asks if she came to see Johnny. Chanel confirms he’s being discharged today which Paulina calls wonderful news. Chanel then questions what Paulina is doing there. Paulina responds that she doesn’t even know where to begin.

Gwen questions EJ sounding so confident as if proceeding to the next step of the plan is just a given. EJ asks why he wouldn’t be. Gwen argues that it’s only a matter of time before the authorities come questioning the ethics of the research in his lab. EJ argues that he has nothing to hide and he has lawyers ready to prove he’s broken no laws. Gwen asks what about when the drug goes on the black market. EJ questions if he senses trepidation when he thought she was all in on this plan. Gwen assures that she is, but now that the patient is out of the pod, it’s a lot riskier. Gwen would like to not go to prison when this is all said and done.

Steve tells Alex that he was glad to see Stephanie back at work. Alex feels she’s slowly regaining her confidence. Steve comments that Stephanie has been through so much. Alex guesses now he’s making it worse and assumes Steve is here to read him the riot act about Joy and the baby. Steve tells him that he assumes wrong.

Kayla goes to see Marlena in her office and asks if she heard the news. Marlena confirms that she did, though she left the will reading before all the excitement began. Kayla didn’t know she decided to attend. Marlena admits she regrets going. Kayla asks if Stefano left her something good. Marlena tells her that it was just a chess set. Marlena says she and John spent so many years playing games with Stefano and she never wants to do that again, so she left the will reading and left the chess set there. Kayla says that’s good for her although it might have been helpful to be there when Lexie made grand entrance.

EJ encourages Gwen to take a breath as they will not be going to prison as long as they are discreet about their interaction and transactions with potential clients. EJ informs Gwen that he’s already gotten offers up to 10 figures which Gwen notes would mean billions. Gwen decides EJ has convinced her. EJ reminds her that his neck is on the line while no one even knows Gwen is involved. Gwen says she would like to keep it that way which EJ says is no problem. EJ adds that all this talk of risk and reward got him thinking that he’s taking the bigger share of the risk, so he’d be entitled to a bigger share of the reward.

Chanel is shocked to learn Lexie is alive. Paulina informs her that Abe and Theo are at her bedside as they speak. Chanel calls that a lot to process. Chanel remembers Paulina telling her about a dilemma she was dealing with and she couldn’t give details. Paulina confirms that was Lexie. Chanel says she was so sorry for not being there for her last night. Paulina is not sure that’s her home anymore since Abe has another wife that he spent most of his life with and built a family with. Paulina question where that leaves her and if she’s just a footnote now.

Abe encourages Lexie to get more sleep and that Theo will be giving her more than a decade of life updates as soon as she’s ready to hear them. Theo says he’ll stay with Lexie if Abe wants to go talk with Paulina. Abe thanks him and admits he can’t keep putting it off, so he exits the room. Theo sits with Lexie and talks about all the times he had been talking to her. Lexie then wakes up. Theo tells her that she’s in the hospital but everything is okay as she looks around in a panic. Theo asks if she knows who he is as Lexie shakes her head.

Gwen argues with EJ that they agreed to a 50/50 deal and he can’t just re-negotiate. EJ argues that Gwen has already seen a large return on her investment. Gwen calls Dimitri’s inheritance entirely different while EJ argues that she wouldn’t have seen a cent without him. Gwen complains that EJ’s project would’ve fallen apart without her money and repeats that he can’t just re-negotiate on a whim. EJ states that he’s sorry but circumstances have changed and she has no legal recourse. EJ advises she take his current offer or risk getting nothing at all.

Alex tells Steve that he knows how it looks with Joy. Steve says he doesn’t have to defend himself as he knows he didn’t get with Joy until after his relationship with Stephanie had ended, so he did nothing wrong, and he understands Alex has stepped up to support Joy and the baby which is the right thing to do. Alex assumes Steve will still be worried about how this will affect Stephanie and their marriage, as he is too, especially since she’s been in such a bad place emotionally. Alex promises to make sure Stephanie knows she is his priority and that the child will not come between them. Steve says all he can ask is for Alex to keep loving and supporting her so she’s never an afterthought. Alex promises she never will be. Steve says he believes him because of the way he operated when Stephanie was missing, so he knows he would do anything for her. Steve tells Alex that it won’t be easy for either of them because he’s been there and he doesn’t expect him to handle it perfectly. Steve declares that Alex will make mistakes like he did, but he is his son now and he is apart of this crazy family along with his baby girl. Steve says that’s what he came to tell him and to ask if there’s anything he and Kayla can do to help.

Marlena tells Kayla that she adored Lexie and that she and Abe were such close friends of theirs, so she was beyond devastated when they lost Lexie, but right now she’s just feeling so sad for Paulina. Marlena recalls years ago when Roman came back and she had two wonderful men in her life. Kayla knows that caused a lot of pain for all of them. Marlena hopes they don’t have to go through that and down the same path that she did. Kayla hopes so too for all of them.

Chanel tells Paulina that it is still her home and that Lexie has been gone a long time while Abe loves Paulina. Paulina argues that Abe loves Lexie too. Paulina says they have so much to work out but she can’t just tear Abe away from Lexie’s bedside. Abe then comes over and asks for a word with Paulina, so Chanel goes to check on Johnny’s discharge papers.

Theo tells Lexie that he is her son, which Lexie calls impossible because her Theo was just a boy. Theo says that was before she left them, but it’s 2026. Lexie questions how that is possible. Theo knows it will sound unbelievable, but she passed on. Theo calls it a long story but says they were able to bring her back to them now. Theo says it took a long time, so he’s grown up now. Theo asks if she remembers the lucky train stamp when he was beginning first grade and adjusting to a real school. Theo reminds her of the story she told him then. Lexie gets emotional as she realizes he is her son and they embrace.

Kayla tells Marlena that she just checked on Johnny and he should be discharged soon. Marlena calls that wonderful news. Marlena brings up that Stephanie told her about Alex and Joy’s baby. Kayla says it looks like she’ll be a step grandmother again. Kayla knows Marlena can’t divulge anything about her sessions with Stephanie but asks if she can tell her that she’s doing okay. Marlena responds that Stephanie is a very strong young woman with an amazing support team. Kayla is happy that Marlena is apart of that team because it’s a lot for her and Alex to go through right now.

Alex thanks Steve and tells him how much it means to him that he and Kayla are in their corner. Steve thinks Kelsey is very lucky to have him and encourages him to be a good dad to her and a good husband to Stephanie, then everything will work out eventually. Steve wants him to know that he and Kayla will always be there for them. They shake hands as Alex thanks him.

Paulina tells Abe that she’s glad it’s been confirmed that it’s really Lexie and that she’s doing well. Paulina asks if Abe has something more to say. Abe responds that he doesn’t have the words and doesn’t know what to do. Paulina tells Abe that he needs to support his wife and help her recover. Abe responds that Paulina is his wife too. Paulina questions if their marriage is even legal and how it would work. Abe hates seeing this pain for her and says that he loves her. Paulina tells Abe that she loves him too, but he needs to go back with Lexie. Paulina tearfully declares that she wants him to go, so Abe gets up and walks away.

Gwen complains that she should’ve known EJ would screw her over. EJ argues that he’s making her rich beyond her wildest imagination. Gwen asks what the timeline is for the new plan and if he’s close to closing on a deal. EJ says not quite as they still need to track Lexie’s recovery to reassure buyers that it will stick. EJ adds that it’s vital that they can prove their success can be repeated.

Chanel returns to Paulina and asks what Abe said. Paulina responds that he said a whole lot of nothing and she thinks he just needed her permission to go back and be with Lexie. Paulina cries that she gave that to him as Chanel hugs her.

Theo tells Lexie about living in South Africa but says he’s glad he came back to Salem, especially now. Abe returns as Lexie comments on Theo growing up. Lexie says she can’t imagine how much she has missed. Lexie asks about Abe’s wedding ring. Abe responds that they thought they lost her and she was gone for almost 15 years. Abe says for a long time, he didn’t even think about moving on, but eventually he met someone and they got married which shocks Lexie.

Brady joins Sarah in the town square. They hug as they both agree it’s been a hell of a last 24 hours.

Holly goes to the Brady Pub where Tate tells her that he’s finishing his shift and then has to go teach at the dojo. Tate remembers to ask Holly about her chem final which Holly reveals that she failed.

Arianna goes to see Liam at the book store. Liam tells her they are about to close up while Arianna says she came to talk to him.

Gabi joins Philip in his room at the Kiriakis Mansion. Gabi tells him that the will reading went longer than expected. Philip says he’s been waiting and guesses the DiMeras were shocked by her bombshell. Gabi says that shock was nothing compared to what was coming as her bomb wasn’t the biggest bombshell dropped today.

Belle goes home to Marlena and asks how her day was. Marlena calls it eventful as Kristen coerced her in to going to Stefano’s will reading. Belle thought she was determined not to go. Marlena admits she regrets changing her mind. Belle asks how it was and what Stefano left her. Marlena informs her that he left her a chess set, though it was actually left to John with a pawn and a queen on it. Belle calls that deeply creepy and says that must have been tough. Belle asks where the chess set is but Marlena reveals she left it at the DiMeras and didn’t stay for the full will reading. Marlena states that she doesn’t want anything from Stefano in her house or in her head at all because he’s gone and they never have to think about playing those games of his ever again.

Gabi reveals to Philip that Lexie Carver is alive which shocks him. Gabi says they are assuming it is Lexie, bringing up how EJ previously conjured up a doppelganger of Rafe. Gabi tells Philip that either way, she needs him to keep it to himself as she promised Tony that she would keep it quiet for now. Gabi says that she is apart of the family whether they like it or not. Philip agrees and guesses the DiMeras are still pissed about having to share the money with her. Gabi confirms they did not jump for joy. Philip asks when she gets her inheritance. Gabi admits she may never.

Sarah asks Brady about his visit with Rachel. Brady says it went pretty good, though he didn’t tell her about Sophia as Dr. Gregory thought it would be best to wait until they find out what exactly happened and she also thought it’d be good if Kristen was there when she finds out. Sarah comments that co-parenting isn’t exactly easy.

Tate encourages Holly that she didn’t fail after studying for weeks. Holly complains that she couldn’t concentrate because she kept thinking about Sophia jumping in to the river and her mom blaming her for it. Tate gets it and says he’s had trouble concentrating too, but he’s sure she did better than she thinks. Holly argues that she didn’t even finish the last part of the test and worries she’ll be lucky to even finish with a C. Tate thinks Holly might be overreacting but Holly insists that this could screw up her life forever. Tate calls it one final while Holly remarks that Tate doesn’t get it because he’s not trying to get in to grad school like she is and he barely studied for his finals. Tate argues that his finals were projects not tests and he did them. Holly argues that it doesn’t matter if Tate gets good grades since he’s dropping out anyway. Tate points out that he could go back to school later while Holly insists none if this matters to him like it does to her. Tate remarks that maybe it shouldn’t matter to her this match when it’s not like her life is over. Holly responds that her life isn’t over like Sophia’s.

Arianna tells Liam that he said he’s no good for her but that’s not his decision to make. Liam argues that she doesn’t know anything about him. Arianna responds that she does and brings up Liam taking a plea deal to stay out of prison and that requires learning to read. Arianna adds that she knows he has a 5 year old son and got mixed up with the DiMeras and Vivian Alamain. Arianna asks if there’s anything else she should know before she decides if he’s good for her.

Philip questions Gabi saying she may never get her inheritance after he flew all the way to Alamainia to prove she is Stefan’s widow. Gabi says she appreciates everything he’s done for her, but the DiMeras don’t want to believe it and are vowing to fight it, so now they are demanding forensic evidence. Philip guesses that might be an issue, so he dug through his old papers and found some samples of Vivian’s handwriting, so if she can’t prove Stefan didn’t sign the papers, she can prove Vivian did.

Belle tells Marlena that she gets it after all those years of Stefano manipulating her and John, but she feels Marlena must be kind of curious why Stefano left her the chess set and wonders if there’s a message in it. Marlena responds that she’s not even curious and doesn’t think Stefano ever thought John would be gone, so he was only doing it to torment him. Marlena declares that she won’t give Stefano the satisfaction and that he’s dead now, so he can’t hurt them anymore. Marlena adds that they can now close the book on Stefano and asks how Belle’s day was. Belle says it was a long day of work and then she went to the hospital to see Shawn on her way home. Belle says Shawn plans to be discharged tomorrow and will be staying at Jada’s. Marlena asks how she feels about that. Belle admits she was hurt that Shawn rejected her offer to care for him but she gets why the two of them being close would be awkward. Belle says Shawn is on crutches so he will need help getting around and she’ll be really busy at work, so it’s probably all for the best.

Brady invites Sarah back to his place for dinner. Sarah says she’d love to but she made dinner plans with Holly as she’s really worried about her after everything that happened with Sophia. Brady says that Tate is having a hard time with it too. Sarah tells Brady that Amy Choi called Maggie and is telling everyone that Holly drove Sophia to take her own life. Brady questions making Holly the target. Sarah wishes it wasn’t happening but acknowledges that Holly did post things that she wishes she hadn’t. Brady mentions hearing about that from Sophia’s dad. Brady then suggests Sarah come over after her dinner with Holly. Sarah agrees to as they kiss.

Tate tells Holly that he’s really sorry. Holly says before all of this, she never had a friend who died before, so she can’t stop thinking about Sophia and remembering how close they used to be before it all went wrong. Tate says he does too and tells Holly that he’s sorry but he has to go. Tate tells her to text him if she wants to hang out later as he exits the Pub.

Philip hopes samples of Vivian’s handwriting will help prove Stefan’s signature was forged on the divorce papers as he wanted to help Gabi through this. Gabi thanks him and says she’s so grateful. Gabi says knowing Stefan went to his grave still loving her and married to her would mean so much to her. Gabi adds that if she does end up inheriting a ton of money, a big chunk of it will go to Philip because none of this would have happened without him. Philip responds that he will not take any of the money and she won’t owe him anything. They hug as Gabi insists that she does.

Liam tells Arianna that he doesn’t have any more deep dark secrets but he thinks that’s enough. Arianna says she was a little surprised but not completely shocked and remarks that her family isn’t a bunch of saints. Liam assures that he’s not still involved in that shady stuff and is now making an honest living. Liam guesses Arianna heard about his past from Gabi. Arianna reveals to him that Rafe is her uncle which shocks Liam. Liam recalls Rafe questioning him once. Arianna jokes that being questioned by the FBI can be added to his list. Liam says that’s part of the reason he told her to stay away from him. Liam tells Arianna that he really likes her which is why he’s trying to protect her. Arianna responds that it won’t be a problem because she kind of likes bad boys.

Marlena is glad that Belle is okay with Shawn staying at Jada’s and that she understands why it might have been awkward. Belle brings up that there’s a case she could use Marlena’s help on and that it’s about Sophia’s apparent suicide. Marlena questions why it’s a case. Belle explains that Amy is directing all of her pain and sorrow at Holly and wants to use cyber bullying laws to throw the book at Holly for Sophia’s death since Holly posted a few things online that were provocative. Marlena is unsure why that would affect her. Belle explains that she knows Sophia suffered from mental illness but she also knows Holly suffered because of Sophia’s behavior and Tate is family, so she doesn’t know what to do.

Tate meets Brady in the town square. Brady tells him that he was talking to Sarah about what happened with Sophia and that Sarah is worried about Holly, so he wanted to check in with him and see how he’s feeling about everything. Tate admits he doesn’t know what to feel.

Sarah meets Holly at the Pub. Holly tells her that she doesn’t think she can eat right now as her stomach is in knots and asks if they can do this another time, but Sarah says they can’t.

Liam tells Arianna that aside from everything else, his kid is his priority. Arianna says she gets that but Liam doesn’t think she does since she lives in an entirely different world. Arianna responds that she’s lived in many different worlds with her dads in Arizona and her mom and family in Salem plus the Hortons and the Kiriakis family. Arianna says she’s related to practically everyone which means she has to fit in with a lot of different people and can get along with everyone. Liam doesn’t think Gabi would approve. Arianna argues that Gabi is a felon so she would be a huge hypocrite to have a problem with his record. She adds that Gabi doesn’t get a say in who she is with as that should be up to her and him.

Philip tells Gabi that she doesn’t owe him a cent as he doesn’t want her money. Gabi knows her reputation as a shrewd and stingy business woman precedes her, but it would bring her so much joy to be able to do this for him after everything he’s done for her. Philip feels he hasn’t done that much aside from loving her and occasionally bringing her breakfast in bed. Gabi points out that he took her to Miami where they made all new memories and he’s been there for her. Gabi states that he has brought her so much happiness when she thought she would never find it again as they kiss.

Tate tells Brady that it’s all really complicated as he hates so many things that Sophia did, but he really cared about her when he thought she was pregnant with his baby. Brady says he had his issues with Sophia as well. Brady suggests maybe Tate should speak to a therapist about his feelings. Tate mentions getting an e-mail that Salem U was making counselors available so maybe he’ll do that. Brady thinks it would be a good idea.

Sarah tells Holly that she and Maggie are both worried about her and it’s not okay for her to avoid them. Sarah says a lot has happened since last night and talks about how she and Sophia used to be friends. Holly says that was until she lied about her relationship with Tate. Sarah acknowledges that Sophia did terrible things too. Sarah then brings up that Holly ripped her apart on a message board. Holly is surprised she knows about that. Sarah reveals that Amy called Maggie, so they saw the posts. Holly wishes to God she never wrote that and argues that she was just blowing off steam. Holly argues that she wasn’t in her right mind after what Sophia did and what those pills did to her. Sarah warns her that Amy wants her charged with cyber bullying. Holly complains that all she did was put up a few posts while Sophia sent half naked pictures of her to Johnny and drugged her. Sarah says she knows but Amy is a grieving mother and part of the grieving process is to find someone to blame. Sarah assures that she and Maggie have Holly’s back with Amy, but she hopes Holly understands that words are weapons and whatever she puts on the internet unfortunately stays there forever, so she hopes she learned a very important lesson.

Marlena talks to Belle about what Amy Choi must be going through, but she doesn’t understand blaming Holly. Belle says it’s totally wrong and she does want to help Holly, but she feels she should recuse herself from the case. Marlena thinks she might be right after what happened with Rachel. Marlena states that it’s Belle’s job to prosecute criminals, not protect family.

Liam says as much as he’d like to agree with Arianna, there is a third person who gets a say and that’s his kid. Arianna asks if he’s saying she needs Gage’s approval to hang out with him and insists that kids love her. Liam says she may not need his approval to just hang out. Arianna points out that they haven’t even kissed yet. Liam brings up the night they met at Small Bar to hide her from her mom. Arianna thinks Gage doesn’t need to weigh in on them hanging out until they really kiss.

Gabi insists to Philip that giving him this money is the least she could do. Gabi adds that his family has been kind enough to open their home to her even when they have been going through such a tough time, so what’s hers is his. Philip says same goes for her, joking that she’d only get debt and a failing company as they continue kissing. Gabi hugs Philip and says she doesn’t know what she would do without him. Philip says he is head over heels for her so she’s stuck with him and she’ll never have to find out as they kiss.

Liam agrees with Arianna that they haven’t really kissed, but not because he hasn’t wanted to. Arianna admits that she’s been wanting to kiss him since they met and will have to try again now that she actually knows him, so they then kiss.

Belle agrees with Marlena that she will have to recuse herself and the case over to an assistant. Marlena wishes she had words of wisdom for her and is trying to think of what John would say. Marlena believes John would say always do the right thing and if it doesn’t feel easy, that means it’s the right thing.

Brady tells Tate that he knows Amy is blaming Holly for what happened to Sophia. Tate calls it such BS and argues that it’s not Holly’s fault that Sophia went off the rails. Tate feels he has to talk to Amy to get her to back off, but Brady warns that’s not a good idea and would probably make things much worse.

Holly complains that Sarah is talking to her like she’s a bad person who deserves to be punished. Holly tries to storm off but Sarah says that’s not what she’s saying and she didn’t mean to upset her. Sarah tells Holly that she loves her and cares about her and wants to make sure she doesn’t withdraw to try to deal with this on her own. Sarah says she and Maggie both support her, but part of supporting is telling her what she needs to hear. Holly complains that she needs time and then storms out of the Pub.

EJ proposes a toast to Stefano, so they all raise a glass to his portrait until Lexie shockingly emerges from the tunnels, leaving all the DiMeras in disbelief.

Dr. Rolf goes to the secret room and is shocked to find Lexie is gone from her bed.

Cat and Leo end up back out in the garden as Leo complains about leaving while Cat says she didn’t want to get caught. Leo argues that if they continued, they could’ve found whoever they heard skulking in the shadows. Cat says she’s sorry but they had to get out before anyone found them. Cat says that all the DiMeras were up at the will reading so she doesn’t understand who that could’ve been.

Abe shockingly calls out to Lexie while Theo approaches her as Lexie looks around the room in awe. EJ steps forward and suggests she take a seat, but she collapses in EJ’s arms.

Cat tells Leo that she needs to get out of there and Leo needs to leave. Cat reminds Leo not to tell anyone they were snooping around the tunnels or any of his ridiculous theories. Leo assures he does not have a death wish, so his lips are sealed.

Dr. Rolf texts EJ in a panic that Lexie is gone.

EJ, Abe, and Theo get Lexie in to a chair as EJ notes her pulse is weak so Tony goes to call an ambulance. Abe holds back tears as he asks if it’s really her and tries to get through to her. Chad confronts EJ as to if Lexie was in the pod. Theo tells him the answer is yes. Abe questions Theo knowing about this. Theo explains that he couldn’t say anything as they weren’t sure she would wake up. Theo encourages Lexie to hang in there. Gabi questions this being Theo’s mom while EJ excitedly states that he didn’t know this was going to work. Kristen interrupts and brings up the family’s history of impostors and asks about the chance it’s not really her. Gabi brings up the family history of bringing people back from the dead so she thinks there’s a good chance it is her. Kristen declares that they need to make damn sure before they embrace her with open arms. Tony says that’s just like they need to make sure about Gabi’s claim to being Stefan’s widow. Chad questions Tony thinking about that when EJ just brought their sister back from the dead. Kristen argues that it might be her. Chad says he wasn’t talking to her while Kristen complains that he was scolding Tony. EJ and Kristen yell at each other to shut up. Kristen declares that she’s only there for her inheritance and it seems to have gotten a whole lot smaller. Chad calls her unbelievable. Theo yells for them to all stop fighting, pointing out that his mother is alive. After Lexie is taken away in an ambulance, Cat comes in and questions hearing the sirens, asking what happened and where EJ is. Kristen tells her not to worry as her beloved boss is just fine, but he disappeared as the paramedics carted away whoever she is. Chad informs Cat that it was their sister Lexie. Tony states that if it really was Lexie, she kind of crashed Stefano’s will reading. Gabi jokes that she stole her thunder. Cat thought Lexie was dead. Chad says it seems EJ’s medical mystery has finally come to light. Tony questions Cat being surprised since she works for EJ and her brother was the disgraced doctor. Tony asks what Cat knows about all of this.

EJ joins Dr. Rolf in the secret room and asks what the hell happened. Dr. Rolf explains that he heard someone in the corridor, so he had to hide until they were gone and by the time he came back, Lexie was gone. EJ complains that Lexie stumbled out right in to the reception so now everyone knows she’s alive.

Cat tells Tony that she doesn’t know anything about what goes on in EJ’s private lab and Mark signed an NDA so he couldn’t say anything if he wanted to, but she highly doubts he knew anything about this. Chad says EJ was obviously up to something with the pod and that they need to get to the hospital. Kristen tells him to go ahead. Chad questions her not coming. Kristen strongly suspects it’s a trick that EJ cooked up to get more of Stefano’s fortune. Cat decides she’s going to look for EJ. Kristen remarks that he’s probably in the tunnels but warns her not to look for him as she guarantees he’s blowing a gasket trying to figure out how Lexie got loose.

Abe and Theo go to the hospital and tell Kayla that the ambulance just brought Lexie in, leaving Kayla confused. After the realization, Kayla says now it all makes sense why EJ bought the hospital and guesses Dr. Rolf is involved. Kayla wonders if they have any more patients. Abe responds that he’s sorry but he doesn’t know and declares all he knows is that he has his wife back and Theo’s mother. Theo asks Kayla to help her. Kayla agrees to do her best and says she’ll come back and tell them as soon as she knows anything.

EJ complains to Dr. Rolf that this is not how he wanted Lexie reintroduced to the family as he wanted something carefully controlled and elegant, but instead he got something out of a zombie film. Dr. Rolf argues that they have made scientific history and calls it quite possibly the greatest medical achievement of all time. Dr. Rolf says he needs to monitor her and run extensive tests so they need to get her back down there. EJ says it’s too late as Lexie collapsed and was taken to the hospital. EJ says he’s sure they are going to have a million questions for him so he has to get to the hospital to do damage control.

Chad goes to the hospital and says he’s not surprised to see Leo there. Leo asks if it’s true that EJ brought his sister back to life and talks about what a scoop it is. Chad warns Leo not to publish one word about Lexie. Chad says that until they know what is going on, Leo is not to speak about any of this. Leo says as long as he eventually gets the exclusive for the Spectator. Leo apologizes for being insensitive and asks how he’s holding up. Chad responds that part of him think it’s a dream come true while another part of him thinks it’s an absolute nightmare. Cat then comes over and sees Chad.

Theo and Abe go to the waiting room where Abe asks how long Theo has known. Theo admits it’s been awhile. Abe asks if this is the reason he stepped away from DiMera. Theo confirms that it is since Lexie never wanted him to have anything to do with the company, so he didn’t want her to wake up to find him running it. Abe wishes Theo trusted him as this is too big of a secret to carry on. Paulina arrives and is thankful they are alright. Paulina brings up how they called from an ambulance and says someone must have been hurt badly for them to call her to meet there. Paulina questions who it is that’s been injured. Abe responds that they think it’s Lexie.

Tony returns to the living room of the DiMera Mansion and mentions sharing the news with Anna, who is in a state of shock. Kristen brings up how Anna thought Tony was dead for a decade until Dr. Rolf brought him back with his magic serum. Tony says Anna is just taking the news hard. Kristen decides to go get some fresh air and exits. Gabi remarks that it’s been a blast and she’ll be in touch about getting her share of Stefano’s billions. Tony calls her a gold digger and says they won’t hand over Stefan’s shares of the estate without proof that Gabi is really his widow. Gabi assures that she will get proof, noting that she has a sworn statement from Ivan saying he saw Vivian forged Stefan’s signature. Tony says they will conduct their own investigation. Gabi brings up that Theo said he is taking her claim seriously. Gabi warns that if EJ and Tony plan to fight her on this, she will see them in court. Tony says it doesn’t have to go that far and tells Gabi that he has a proposition for her which she questions. Gabi brings up last time, she ended up with a knife in her back when he used her to get dirt on Titan and tossed her aside to install Theo as CEO. Tony points out that Theo has stepped aside while Gabi notes now he has Johnny. Tony argues that Johnny is not permanent and his reasons for not choosing him in the first place are still the same. Tony calls Johnny a film maker, not a business man, and argues that he’s simply not qualified and doesn’t have the required experience. Gabi asks what this has to do with her. Tony points out that Gabi is qualified, has the experience, and has done the job before. Tony then asks how Gabi would like to be the next CEO of DiMera.

Kristen goes out to the garden and again imagines a bloody Sophia appearing in front of her. Kristen yells for it to go away and leave her alone as her vision disappears.

Paulina questions Abe seeing Lexie. Kayla comes back in, so Paulina asks if she should leave but Abe asks her to stay. Kayla informs them that Lexie is stable and asleep, so they are running tests. Abe asks if it’s really Lexie. Kayla responds that she doesn’t know, but she will run a DNA test as soon as she gets a chance. Theo asks how much she will remember since she didn’t recognize him before. Kayla says Theo has changed quite a bit, so they’ll just have to wait and see. Abe asks if Lexie will wake up. Kayla says they don’t know that either but Abe is welcome to sit with her. Theo tells him that he should. Paulina agrees that Abe should go and be with his wife, so Abe then exits.

Cat finds EJ at the hospital. EJ guesses he has some explaining to do but he needs to see how his sister is. Cat responds that she’s stable but that’s all they know. EJ says they need to keep a tight lid on this as he doesn’t want any of it getting out. Cat asks what EJ needs her to do. Chad interrupts and tells EJ to leave Cat out of this and not drag her in to whatever illegal activity he’s involved in.

Paulina asks when Theo found out. Theo admits it was weeks ago. Theo says he’s sorry that he couldn’t say anything but he wanted to warn her. Paulina said when Theo said part of the reason he left DiMera was because of his mother, she thought he might know. Paulina then reveals to Theo that she knew Lexie was alive.

Abe sits at Lexie’s side and cries that he has missed her.

Cat tells Chad that it’s okay as EJ isn’t asking her to do anything illegal. EJ tells Chad that instead of hurling accusations, he could express gratitude for him bringing back their sister. Chad responds that if that’s what he did then he is grateful, but says it’s going to disrupt a lot of people’s lives. EJ tries to call it a good deed but Chad argues that it wasn’t an act of charity and that EJ was playing God. Chad remarks that despite what EJ thinks, that’s not who he is. Chad warns that there will be repercussions for this and he hopes EJ is ready for them.

Kristen has a flashback to knocking out Sophia and says she can’t come back, she’s dead. Dr. Rolf approaches and asks if she’s alright. Kristen says she’s not alright. Dr. Rolf says he couldn’t help but overhear her and that Lexie is not dead, she’s very much alive. Kristen argues that she should’ve known and calls he and EJ monsters. Dr. Rolf questions her anger and says there should be jubilation that Lexie has returned and is ready to resume her place in their hearts. Kristen tells Dr. Rolf that whoever or whatever they brought is only going to bring pain and misery to the people who love Lexie.

EJ tells Chad that he’s ready for whatever comes his way. EJ knows it’s overwhelming but says once he gets past the initial shock, he will see that Lexie’s return will bring nothing but joy to their family. Kayla comes by, so EJ asks about Lexie and if they can see her. Kayla responds that Abe is with her now and they still have to run tests and verify her identity. EJ acknowledges this all coming as a huge shock. Chad asks when they will know it’s really Lexie. Kayla says as soon as she can run a DNA test. EJ tells them the results will prove she is Alexandra Carver. Kayla asks to speak with EJ privately so they step aside. Kayla tells EJ that she knew he didn’t buy the hospital to help other people, but to help himself, and God knows how many laws he’s broke in that lab of his. EJ argues that medical research is not illegal. Kayla complains that what he did is immoral and depraved as he used his own sister as a guinea pig and went around every rule in place for safety. Kayla states that EJ did it to sell his miracle drug on the black market. EJ reminds Kayla of the dire straits that Bo was in, so she understands breaking rules to save someone you love. EJ tells Kayla to get to work, reminding her that he is her boss and her only job right now is to take care of his sister.

Gabi thought Tony wanted family running DiMera. Tony responds that Stefan’s widow is still family and she has a very impressive track record as a business woman. Gabi thought he didn’t believe her about Stefan. Tony clarifies that he believes her, but doesn’t think she can prove it. Gabi says she will but they can do their own investigation and Rita will find what she is claiming is true. Tony questions how long that could take and that it could be years before she sees a dime of Stefano’s fortune. Gabi responds that it will be worth the wait. Tony argues that they both know she’s not patient and wants her piece of the pie now which is why he’s offering this on a silver platter.

Cat tells EJ that she couldn’t help but overhear Kayla. EJ says it’s to be expected that people will have questions but he has one for Cat. EJ states that Lexie’s doctor mentioned hearing someone in the tunnels and during that time, he noticed Cat wasn’t at the will reading so he assumed she was setting up the reception. Cat says she was finishing up some last minute details. EJ asks if she has any idea who the person in the tunnels could’ve been as Leo listens from nearby.

Paulina explains to Theo that she was getting too close to what EJ was doing in the lab, so he showed her his project. Paulina says she told him as Mayor, it was her job to shut him down but he told her to forget what she had seen and keep her mouth shut. Paulina argues that she couldn’t shut down his work as she couldn’t do that to Theo and Abe. Kayla comes in to ask Theo for a DNA sample to compare to Lexie which he agrees to. Theo tells Paulina that everything is going to work out the way it’s supposed to as he then exits with Kayla.

Abe cries at Lexie’s side that it’s been almost 15 years since they lost her but looking at her is like no time ever passed. Abe holds Lexie’s hand and asks if this is really happening. Lexie then wakes up and says Abe’s name.

Cat claims to EJ that she didn’t see or hear anything. Chad and Leo come over as Chad asks what’s going on. Leo informs him that EJ was just asking Cat if she knew who was in the tunnels. EJ questions this being his business. Leo then reveals he was in the tunnels. EJ threatens to have him arrested for trespassing. Leo argues that he asked Cat to get him an invite to the will reading and EJ declined, so he was looking for an alternative entry. EJ wants to go after him for sneaking in to his house. Chad tells EJ to take it easy since Leo works for him and was just doing his job. Chad tells EJ that’s enough of the threats and to leave Leo alone.

Gabi questions Tony offering her the CEO position and asks if he wants her to drop her claim on Stefan’s share of the estate in exchange. Tony says his offer stands regardless of her claim. Gabi argues that DiMeras only make offers if there’s something in it for them. Gabi brings up that DiMera is Titan’s biggest rival. Tony asks if she’s afraid to go against Philip, pointing out that it didn’t bother her to put a bug in his office which is how they found out that Philip used forged documents to steal half of Titan. Tony declares that Gabi is the whole reason why Philip’s family company could go under. Gabi argues that was all before she fell in love with Philip. Tony mocks Gabi having a heart. Gabi thanks him for the offer but says her answer is no as she walks out of the mansion.

Leo and Cat go to a waiting room where Leo comments on Chad making the rescue. Cat tells Leo that he did not need to take the blame as she had it under control. Leo argues that EJ already hates him so he didn’t need to know she was snooping too, so he was happy to protect her. Cat guesses he’s going to expect a return favor. Cat acknowledges Leo’s risk. Leo asks what EJ is going to do, kill him? Cat says they’ll hope not.

EJ comments on Chad protecting Leo and asks if he put Leo up to it. Chad asks if he’s really that surprised that Leo wanted in on the will reading and says the public will all want to know, adding they’ll want to know even more when the news about Lexie gets out. EJ argues that it won’t get out until he knows she’s made a complete recovery. EJ hopes Chad made that clear with Leo which Chad says he did. Chad guesses he knows why Theo didn’t think Abigail was in the pod now. Chad asks EJ if it’s really Lexie. EJ assures that it is. Chad can’t believe he did this. EJ responds that he just finished what Stefano started. Chad asks if it would be possible if they ever found Abigail. EJ explains that Lexie was preserved shortly after she died and to have any chance of success, that has to happen.

Dr. Rolf is surprised Kristen isn’t happy to see her sister. Kristen talks about learning her mother was alive after years of thinking she was dead, arguing that her mother was always alive while Lexie is a reanimated corpse. Dr. Rolf argues that Lexie was never a corpse. Kristen questions her being in a lingering state waiting to return to screw up everyone’s lives. Kristen argues that Dr. Rolf completely ignored the ripple effect this could have on the living and declares that the dead need to stay dead.

Abe tells Lexie that he’s here. Lexie tells Abe that she loves him. Paulina looks in through the door as Abe says that he loves her too.
